Speaker 1 (00:00):
You are listening to the Dan Patrick Show on Fox
Sports Radio Final Hour.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
On this Thursday, Dan and the Dan That's Dan Patrick Show,
we head to Atlanta and we will be taking part
in a celebrity family feud tomorrow afternoon versus The Rich
Eisen Show, and we will not be doing our show. Therefore,
we have a meet Friday on Thursday. We have a
lot of wings. Lemon pepper wings. Is that the famous

(00:27):
lemon pepper wings at Magic City? Who is the player
who opted out of the bubble, Lou Williams, Lou william
Lemon Pepperlu Lemon Pepper, Lou. We have those buffalo wings.
We have Teriaki wings, a grilled chicken, caesar smoked shrimp cocktail.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
Who has it better than we do?

Speaker 4 (00:45):
No.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Mike Cherico will join us here momentarily, the voice of
NBC Sunday Night Football. The schedule release last night. We'll
talk about the networks they love the Kansas City Chiefs
and the Commanders, and of course the Dallas Boys, but
also five primetime games for the Miami Dolphins. Things that
make you go hmm, thunder at the Nuggets and the

(01:07):
Thunder are favored in this game. To close, this series out.
They're favored by four and a half and the Celtics
tomorrow night we'll get two and a half. Well, the
bookies will give them two and a half. It's not
like they walk in there's two and a half points
up on the scoreboard. That'd be pretty cool all of
a sudden, you'd walk in and you go. Didn't Draymond

(01:28):
Green get fined fifty thousand dollars because he talked about
the points spread. Wasn't that just recently got fined yesterday
fifty thousand dollars, Yes, Paulin.

Speaker 5 (01:38):
He got caught yelling at the refs on the mics
and referencing the point spread. So that's a double whammie.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
Celtics roll roughed up the Knicks last night. We're not
surprised at that. The Knicks up three games to two,
and the Timberwolves closed out the Warriors. The Timberwolves were
favored by eleven, they won by eleven. Derek I had
thirty four, including seven three pointers, one twenty seven to
one oh two. The Celtics tied to franchise playoff record

(02:08):
with twenty two made three pointers and Minnesota. Here's a
stat that you don't hear very often they shot. Minnesota
shot a franchise playoff record sixty to almost sixty three
percent from the floor. But also I think they shot
close to sixty eight percent from two point range. It's

(02:29):
like nobody celebrates the two pointer anymore, but there's reason
to celebrate. No. Actually, Timberwolf, they shot almost seventy seven
percent from two point range. That's the highest in any
playoff game in the last forty five years. Stat of

(02:56):
the Day brought to you by Panini America, the official
trading cards for the Dan Patrick Show. Good if you're
watching on Peacock or streaming service and our radio affiliates
around the country. If you go back to that trade
with Karl Anthony Towns, it felt like both fan bases
in New York and Minnesota didn't like what they were
getting or giving up. It's like, wait, we're giving up
him and we're getting him. Julius Randall played really well

(03:17):
in this playoff series, Dante de Vanceenzo has played pretty well,
and Karl Anthony Towns has played really well. But Nick's
head back home Friday night, Game six? What could go wrong?
Mike jo Rico, NBC Sports host play by play he's
doing it all. He's got Sunday Night Football, he's got

(03:38):
the Preakness. What doesn't Mike do? Mike joins us on
the program? What don't you do?

Speaker 3 (03:44):
Mike?

Speaker 4 (03:44):
Do I have to sing Happy birthday?

Speaker 3 (03:46):
That'd be nice.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
I'd like to hear Happy birthday to you. What do
you do for your What do you do for your birthday?
Do you cake? What kind of cake? Do you like?
Special dinner? What's the DP birthday?

Speaker 3 (04:00):
I don't you should ask my guys the DAN that's
what they're going to do for me.

Speaker 4 (04:03):
I want to know what you want. This is about you.
It's your day, okay.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
I would I would say you joining me on the show, Shopper,
thank you. I thought we were getting Michael Jordan since
he's part of the family, and he said, no, it's
Michael Cherico because I said, I said get me Michael,
and he got me.

Speaker 4 (04:23):
You so so, but do you remember, wait, it's good.
Do you remember when uh, when Mark Jones, who's still
doing a great job doing the NBA on ESPN. Do
you remember when we were all in Bristol and Mark
was doing the NBA today and Mark would do the
shot fake and then the fadeaway jumping at the end
of the show, right, yeah, right, I think Jonesy. I

(04:45):
think Jonesy interviewed Michael after a finals game that he
should do that a whole bunch too. And I think
I think Jones said, MJ in the house with the
other m.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
J oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yes. But I think
Mark Jones used to dribble like behind his back and
then he'd say, if you're at the end of your
NBA rope, tie a nod or something.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
Yeah, exactly. But I remember when Mark would do that
show and with the analyst on some of those shows,
God Rest his soul, the great Doctor Jack Ramsey and
Doctor Jack be sitting in the chair and Jones would
be jumping up, faking and taking the jump. Right now,
those are good days mine day, Mark Jones.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
So yeah, yeah, Mark Jones is the first announcer I
ever heard say somebody is taking it to the house.
First time I remember, and I remember management, a couple
of members of management no longer there, who said, got
to put an end.

Speaker 4 (05:44):
To that, oh man, Jonesy. Two things about Jonesy loves
loves his basketball, awesome vocabulary, great story teller. Jonesy has
been doing games for a long time at a really
good level, like one of those people who are underappreciated
for the amount of work, the longevity college NBA college football.

(06:08):
You're right. I don't remember that specific instant, but I
do remember somebody, whether it's you or someone else, saying
that Mark was the first guy to say that take
it into the house, and that's become, you know, synonymous
with touchdowns. So good for Jonesy. I didn't. I didn't
think we talked Jonesy, but there you know.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
I didn't either.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
Okay, So do you know what role Michael Jordan plays
in the NBA coverage on NBC exactly?

Speaker 4 (06:32):
No special contributor part, is what I do know. I
think it'll be one of those things that evolves over time.
I'm excited that he would even consider doing it.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
How would you use him? How would you use him?

Speaker 4 (06:45):
How would I? I don't know without talking with him
what his level of granular NBA following the league transaction
by transaction level is right now. But from time and
management and ownership and obviously the unbelievable playing career and

(07:05):
the way the game has evolved, I think there's a
unique space there to hear from Michael where the game is,
where it's going, And I'm curious what he thinks about
a three on one guys who run through the three
point line. I'm curious what he thinks is the guy
who wanted to play so often about the amount of
play guys have and the style of the way the
game is played now on both ends of the floor.

(07:27):
So even that alone, I would be curious. So I
don't think it's one of those you don't want, Michael.
I don't think sitting at the desk trading opinions of
the moment on this or that. I'd like to hear
it at a high level. How that manifests itself, I
don't know. I hope I get to be involved with
it a little bit. But look, any chance to hear

(07:47):
Michael Jordan talk basketball, I'm signing up for. So yeah,
I hope it involves in something good. I don't think
he's going to be at the desk. I think maybe
you could treat it like Kobe did. Details where Kobe
kind of went into the lab and and you, you know,
you have to have somebody with Mike to kind of
help him guide him along with things. What do you
see here, what would you do here? And then maybe

(08:09):
you could get that on his terms so then he
can go out and play thirty six holes, which is.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
Really important.

Speaker 4 (08:18):
And you know what, that's our life goal. Yeah, we
all say I want to be like Mike. I want
to roll up and crank out thirty six holes a day.
So look to have anything related to Michael Jordan connected
to the NBA is really good. I did get to
hang out on Monday in New York with Reggie Miller
and Jamal Crawford and Vince Carter part of our team

(08:38):
of Sammellow at the derby. I'm just excited about our
group and it'll be fun to get back into the
league and to do with guys who are, you know,
contemporary to the league and still connected in so many ways.
It's going to be a blast. And whatever Michael Greens
is pretty special.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
Mike tarka NBC Sports host and play by play voice
NBC Sunday Night Football. Also, well, you're gonna be hosting
the Preakness Stakes coming up this weekend. At least helps
planning on it. I'd like to make it through. Yeah,
at least get through one race this time.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
Okay, when did you know, you were in trouble at
the Kentucky Derby.

Speaker 4 (09:14):
So for those who don't know, I have a nut
allergy and a severe reaction which probably every seven or
eight years that happens. Maybe you just eat something that's
contaminated with nuts, and I knew I wasn't feeling well
when I got up to the studio which is above
the paddock, which is about two fifteen or so, and
I was going on at two thirty. It's when our

(09:35):
window started. And when I'm at Ferried who did an
awesome job. So that's a hard show. It's one of
the hardest shows that we do every year, just in
terms of the moving parts.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
And did he bring me your lunch that day?

Speaker 4 (09:47):
That's you know, that's what people are asking and we
have not gotten to the bottom of that. Investigation continues
this at this moment. It's so funny. So many people asked,
I'm at that, like, oh, it's the nicest person on
planet Earth, please.

Speaker 2 (10:01):
But you know what you to talk about late scratches.
I didn't think it would be an announcer. I thought
it would be a horse.

Speaker 4 (10:06):
But doing a credit for the start, then it's like
going in to keep your consecutive games streak going. I
got the start, I just didn't didn't get didn't get
to the finish line. So I knew about the ten
minutes before. I wasn't feeling great, but sometimes you can
get past that and you feel better the rest of
the day. And I was just starting to get worse
and then your throat, clothes and all that. So I

(10:28):
was in bad shape there in terms of allergy and
allergic reaction for a little while. The positive, if there
was other than am Ed doing a great job, was
that I didn't know thirty million Americans have food allergies
of some sort. And the fact that because they said, oh,
I just want to say you're under the West, say
I had an allergic reaction and I have a nut

(10:48):
allergy is no reason to hide it.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
It's the truth.

Speaker 4 (10:51):
And I've heard from so many people, including moms, who said,
you know, our kid has a nut allergy. It is
embarrassed to talk about. Thanks for bringing it up. So
we're able to at least mention that on the Today's
show and get that out there. So so you have
some folks.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
You're the spokesperson for none out Okay, No, I'm not.
Somehow yeah, you're.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
Making money now another gig here.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
There is no trust me, there is no money involved
with that. But did you know, Dan? Did you know? Okay, Hi,
how are you? Chris? Did you know that May is
National Food Allergy Awareness Month? I do know, now, there
you go. I did not know that, just having followed

(11:35):
a bit that I used to do with Chris Myers
on Sports Center at two thirty in the morning back
in the day. But yeah, anyway, so thankfully am it
was here. Thankfully everybody looked after me. I was fined
by Sunday afternoon, and I'm very careful about what I
eat always and extra careful now.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
NFL schedule release last night. What stood out? Hey, you
know you always look for who's in primetime. I think
with more primetime windows in general, it's become a little
more interesting to see who gets those extra games. In
Kansas City with seven primetime games, so many games for
a team to be in primetime.

Speaker 4 (12:12):
You know a lot of the people you'd expect Dallas
with six, Detroit Watchington five. But interesting see teams like
Atlanta and the Chargers, maybe teams that the folks in
the league think might be good teams that other people
aren't thinking about to see them show up five times
in Priton. I love the fact that we get to
open with Dallas at Philly and then come back with
Josh Allen against Lamar Jackson in Buffalo to open the

(12:34):
season redo of that playoff game with Baltimore and Buffalo.
So we'll be off and running with the Sunday night
schedule with some good stuff.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
You read anything into Steelers against the Gets opening week.

Speaker 4 (12:48):
I'm very hopeful that we're reading something into Steelers Packers
in mid October, which look on its own because of
the legacy both franchises, is a great game, right. But Man,
Aaron Rodgers is back with the Packers. I was back
with the Steelers and playing the Packers for probably what
would be the only time in his career. Man, that

(13:10):
would be something, something incredible, that would be an incredible scene,
would be a special special night for all of us involved.
So we wait and wonder if Aaron's going to come
back or not, And if he does, that'd be pretty cool.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
Do you think he will?

Speaker 4 (13:25):
I don't know. Whatever he calls McAfee decides to tell him,
I guess we'll all find out. I don't know my
gut is at this point he has to have a
decision in his heart, right because you're starting to get
to that point in May where you're rounding yourself into
physical and mental shape. And the Steelers are good quarterback

(13:46):
play away from being more than nine and eight, ten
and seven and getting in and winning some of those games.
I think in that division it gets magnified right when
you play Baltimore and you play Cincinnati. You've got to
have that play. And Aaron did show at the end
of the year he can make that play. So is
he willing to be a part of what they do
in Pittsburgh and fit right in. I think it would

(14:08):
be a cool last chapter, So I'm hopeful. I have
no gut feeling at all. I wish I did, but
I don't.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
The Preakness Stakes after the Kentucky Derby and Sovereignty is
not running, and then I wonder, you know this has
happened before, it's not the first time, but is there
a way that they can space this out a little
more so you do get more people, more eyes on this,
and that this stays relevant, stays important to you know,

(14:35):
the sports landscape.

Speaker 4 (14:38):
It's pretty easy you move this race back around Memorial
Day weekend or the weekend before either one, and then
you move the Belmont Fourth of July weekend or the
weekend before you have to react to what's happening. Nobody
in Major League Baseball is using a four man rotation
in the regular season because resting pictures and resting your

(15:00):
investment less starts has been the way to go. Horse
racing is the same thing. They used to wheel horses
back every two weeks. Now for the most part, the
best thorough bridge only run once every.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
Four or five six weeks.

Speaker 4 (15:15):
That's the normal window to bring them back on two
weeks for rest from Derby to Preacas never never happens
during the year for these horses. So then why are
you taking twenty one plus million people that watch the
Kentucky Derby any momentum you might have built and give
the sports zero chance to build on top of that
momentum with So if Sovereigny's going for the second lay
of the triple Crown, maybe it's not Derby Day like

(15:38):
damn well, and those sports fans would show up at
about six o'clock on Saturday to see can you win
the second and then build for the Belmont the Triple
Crown's been around for one hundred and forty some odd years,
and you don't want to mess with tradition. I got it.
But if you can't follow this idea with anything that
works right now in the sport, then we're hurting the sport.
So it would be hoove everyone involved.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
Problem is, I see what you do with Anthony be
who okay be who I didn't?

Speaker 4 (16:03):
I didn't thank you.

Speaker 6 (16:05):
That's why.

Speaker 4 (16:08):
What you're doing, you'll be smart for the sport. And
Maryland does its own thing, says Kentucky. So does New York,
so does California, so does Florida. An you talk about
college football media commissioner, this sport needs a commissioner.

Speaker 3 (16:21):
Have fun this weekend, Be careful what you eat. Thank
you pal, happy birth, happy birth, Thank you, min birth, Thank.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
You all the best. Mike Jerrico, he'll be there. The
Prickness steakes Saturday for Eastern on NBC and Peacock. No Trico.
What thirty years, maybe longer than that, trying to it's
all blur. I think the first time I met Mike
was nineteen ninety four, maybe checking so that would give

(16:50):
us uh into the two thirty years. Does that sound right?

Speaker 3 (16:56):
All right, let me take a break.

Speaker 2 (16:57):

(18:44):
The Celtics are plus seventeen hundred, they were plus three
thousand yesterday and the Nuggets at plus twenty five hundred.
You got games coming up one tonight and then one tomorrow.

of phone calls in here, James in Virginia. Hi, James,

(19:08):

Speaker 6 (19:10):
It's your birthday? Happy birthday? Yeah, it's for your birthday.
It's your birthday, Happy birthday. Brother. Thank you for taking
my call. DP. Hope you're enjoying your day, my man.
It's always good to see another year around the sun.
My man. Oh, salute the commanders. Guys. Who would have thought?

Speaker 9 (19:27):
Man?

Speaker 6 (19:27):
Seven standalone games, five in timetime, one international, and one
on Christmas Day. Man, that is so exciting for me.
Cannot wait, cannot believe. Jayden five? Is it gonna be
alive again?

Speaker 1 (19:41):
None?

Speaker 6 (19:42):
Want's sophomore slumps. Man, he's coming out top this quarterback
in the NFL. I'll give you a couple more things, DP.
Gotta try, Old Day Wings, most underrated wing out there,
Old Day Wings, Marvin Ah Man, how you up high
of the faith? My guy? And I know you like Apple,
so I'm gonna hook you up. Man. It's been a

(20:03):
busy month, but I'm gonna get my wife to do it.
I'm sure my daughter would love it too. Man, hope
you guys have a great time. If they're gonna be
bad news bears on them a cute I think so.
But you are pulling out on the head man. Y'all
have a great time as salute the commanders.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
Thank you, James. Good to hear from you. Mason in Florida,
Hi Mason, what's on your mind?

Speaker 10 (20:26):
Hey Dan Good, Good to talk to you. Seventy four
and three quarter inches, one hundred and ninety pounds, six
ounces and five hundred and ninety two months. That's my
baby statue. I got a comment about the from the
Skip Bayless clutch comment a while ago. By no means
not a duchy go crap state. But I got your
next clutch T shirt for Cooper Flags. Who needs a

(20:49):
clutch when you're automatic?

Speaker 3 (20:51):
Okay, all right, that's a car reference. Yeah it is.

Speaker 11 (20:56):
There's a thing called the clutch, ya know, that you
use when you drive a standard. This is a stick shift.
Other than there's an automatic where you don't need the clutch.

Speaker 2 (21:03):
When you talk to it a younger generation, they'll be like, wait,
what right exactly? Yeah, No, there's like a clutch pedal
and then you push it in and then you shift
the gears. Why, well, that just the way we.

Speaker 11 (21:17):
Yeah, that's my son is getting almost to driving age,
and we're making him learn how to drive a standard.

Speaker 12 (21:24):
Just because why not.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
My wife was the same way with my kids because
they you know, she said, you may not drive, you know,
a car like that here in the United States, but
if you go to Europe, you know they still.

Speaker 3 (21:36):
Have stick shifts over there.

Speaker 12 (21:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (21:38):
Kevin in Ohio, Hi, Kevin, what's on your mind today?

Speaker 4 (21:43):
Hi?

Speaker 13 (21:43):
Good, good morning, Dan. Happy birthday to you and uh,
I just want to say happy birthday to your wife
and your family for allowing you to be on the
show and provide us what you guys do every day.
But the big thing on to say is, I think
I watched your Nick Write interview the other day and

(22:05):
you had a walk off with Nick Wright. Yeah, and
I'm going to give you another walk off.

Speaker 9 (22:12):
When the young man called it about the Ylita or
the whatever he called in and your crew immediately this
is what makes you different.

Speaker 13 (22:23):
People could call in. I know, we laugh about their
medical procedures and things with Todd, but you guys, people
don't care how much you know till they know how
much you care and your show care.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
Thank you, Kevin. Sounds like a T shirt there. People
don't know how much you care. People don't care how
much you know, they know how much you care.

Speaker 12 (22:50):
I love that. I like it.

Speaker 5 (22:53):
My wife's going to put that in there, Breezeway on
one of those signs.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
David in Ohio, Hi David, what's on your mind today?

Speaker 1 (23:01):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (23:01):
Dan?

Speaker 4 (23:02):
Happy meet Thursday.

Speaker 6 (23:03):
Nobody.

Speaker 14 (23:05):
All I gotta say is survey says Happy birthday, Dan.

Speaker 4 (23:09):
Thank you?

Speaker 3 (23:09):
H well, thank you, David. I appreciate that. Uh.

Speaker 2 (23:13):
I started calling myself game six Dan, and then a
couple of my friends go, why would you say game six?

Speaker 3 (23:21):
I said, because I don't get to game seven. Yeah,
that's right. That's Michael Jordan. That's right, friend. Yeah, ask
Mike Jordan about that. Uh, call me game six?

Speaker 12 (23:33):
Why is dad?

Speaker 3 (23:34):
Because I don't get to game seven? Yes, Mike? Yeah,
Well do you want to be like Mike. It's his name.

Speaker 2 (23:43):
He was Mike Jordan when he was at North Carolina,
was he Yeah? Then he became Michael Yeah. Edit guard,
let me see I see the pope the video coming.

Speaker 12 (24:00):
Yes, that's real.

Speaker 3 (24:01):
The Chicago Bulls, you know, with their introduction song.

Speaker 12 (24:05):
I have one request. Hear me out of.

Speaker 3 (24:08):
This, Paulie. Are we playing in or out? It's up
to you, Oh man, give the energy.

Speaker 2 (24:16):
It's quick. Okay, I will say this. I did ask
for this. It's not going to happen, but I did
ask for it. I asked if the big German could
change my seat on the plane going to Atlanta.

Speaker 11 (24:28):
Okay, hold up, that might impact other people on the plane.

Speaker 2 (24:33):
Exactly, and I said, don't do it because somebody was
then going to get fritzy. I this is the only
thing I asked for on my birthday was that I
didn't have to sit next to Todd.

Speaker 3 (24:45):
That's the only thing you and lieu of gifts.

Speaker 12 (24:49):
I was like, that says a lot right there.

Speaker 4 (24:53):
Yeah, but.

Speaker 5 (24:56):
I have a solution. Todd could go back to the
coach seats.

Speaker 12 (25:00):
Well, the person that has the problem needs to take
initiative and move if they are the ones.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
It's my birthday, yeah, everybody's birthdays. I remember when it's
your birthday.

Speaker 3 (25:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 12 (25:10):
See, Okay, so what has happened?

Speaker 3 (25:14):
Nothing? Nothing?

Speaker 12 (25:15):
Okay?

Speaker 11 (25:15):
Is there a loophole here that you said? You asked
the German too, and you said, no, you don't do it.
I'm going to have someone else do it, like Mario.

Speaker 12 (25:22):
You change.

Speaker 2 (25:22):
I did ask Mario exactly I did, now I did,
and Mario goes, I don't know if I could do it.
I don't know if I can do it. Right now,
I go, all right, I mean he's directing the show.
And I said, priorities here, I got to sit next
to Todd for three hours. No, no, no, we're getting

(25:42):
pre board.

Speaker 11 (25:43):
And see, here's why I'm so concerned about that is
because I know if you're switching those around, you're definitely
having Marvin sit next to you than me, which means
that I'm sitting next to Todd today, yes, which I'm
already on the record, and how I feel about that, Yes, yes.

Speaker 2 (25:57):
As we're a glass partition between the seats I did.

Speaker 12 (26:02):
We can't do that.

Speaker 11 (26:04):
This last thing is my check on and my carry on.

Speaker 12 (26:08):
Sir, You're gonna have to check that glass thing you
got there. That's not gonna make it on the plane.
I need.

Speaker 2 (26:12):
I need Sonos or Bows to come out with fritzy
canceling headphones, like that's what they're called, not noise canceling.

Speaker 3 (26:19):
Fritzy canceling headphones. Well, I mean spirited, but let's not
have a convert I mean I I speak for three hours, Todd.
I don't want to get on the plane and then
you start chatting me.

Speaker 12 (26:32):
Up material hap your shoulder. They're bringing the pretzels and
the waffle cookies on which one do you want before
you go to sleep?

Speaker 2 (26:39):
I know, but they're there. Just has to be. I'm
gonna tell you, I'm not going to give you one
of those. Oh let me read into her or is
he dropping a hint?

Speaker 3 (26:47):
He don't. I'm just gonna say, Tod, no more conversation.

Speaker 12 (26:51):
What are you thinking, ginger ale Apple? What do you
think they're coming with the card? What are you think?

Speaker 2 (26:55):
But you know, the audience is probably thinking that we're joking,
and the thing is that we're not on Todd's not
joking that that's what he does.

Speaker 12 (27:03):
I'm going to ask for the pretzels and the Waffingo.

Speaker 3 (27:06):
Yeah, no, you can take mine, you can take money.

Speaker 12 (27:09):
He's sleeping, you can give me he wanted pretzels, I'm
going to waffle.

Speaker 5 (27:13):
If you really think that Todd would not talk your
ear off for the first twenty minutes, when you guys
sit down.

Speaker 12 (27:18):
You must be new here.

Speaker 11 (27:19):
Yeah, because he would talk your ear off about not
talking your ear off? Yes, yeah, you know I'm not
going to talk to you while we do this. I
apparently I'm not supposed to be talking. So the last
thing I want to do is bother you on the
plane and let alone your birthday.

Speaker 12 (27:29):
I mean, I lost, I make a scene.

Speaker 4 (27:30):
You have the other sports guy.

Speaker 1 (27:32):
I just saw you on ESPN the other night.

Speaker 12 (27:34):
You're still doing Sports Center. How long you been there?

Speaker 3 (27:37):
I'm sitting next to Dan Patrick. No way.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
How long would it take to take the train from
Connecticut to Atlanta?

Speaker 12 (27:43):
Checking?

Speaker 3 (27:44):
Could I get there by tomorrow? Showtime?

Speaker 12 (27:47):
Midnight train to Georgia?

Speaker 3 (27:48):
Oh hey, that time to play in or out? You're
either in or you're out. Go rapid fire. Steph Curry
will play one more year in Golden State and wrap
it up. God out, seatan in, Marvin out, I'm out.

Speaker 5 (28:07):
Tomorrow is setting up to be one of the worst
nights in Knick's history.

Speaker 3 (28:11):
Okay, Todd, you went around out seatan.

Speaker 11 (28:17):
Worst nights in Knick's history is a big statement.

Speaker 12 (28:21):
Is it going to be a terrible night?

Speaker 3 (28:22):
Yes, I'll be in.

Speaker 12 (28:24):
If they lose, Marvin win or lose, we all suffer.
Saw me.

Speaker 5 (28:34):
I'm into If I were an NFL player, I would
love to play.

Speaker 3 (28:37):
In international games.

Speaker 2 (28:39):
Todd out, Satan and Marvin out out.

Speaker 5 (28:46):
The PGA Championship the fourth major No offense should absolutely
change its name for branding purpose.

Speaker 3 (28:53):
Todd in, Seatan out, Marvin in. I'm in. I'm okay.

Speaker 12 (29:03):
That means you want them to give me.

Speaker 3 (29:04):
Oh no, I'm out. I'm okay if they keep the PGA.

Speaker 2 (29:07):
I mean it's for the professional golf for you know,
the the you know the teachers.

Speaker 3 (29:12):
So it's the PGA Champion.

Speaker 12 (29:14):
That's a terrible name.

Speaker 3 (29:15):
Thank you to.

Speaker 5 (29:18):
The Detroit Tigers, by the way, are twenty nine to fifteen.
They're in first place. They've outscored their opponents by eighty
six runs. They are technically the best team in baseball.
The Detroit Tigers are the best story in baseball and
the best team.

Speaker 12 (29:31):
Todd out, I'd go Aaron Judges start over that. Seaton in, Yes,
Laarvin out the best stories of the Rockies.

Speaker 3 (29:43):
Yeah, i'd say out too.

Speaker 2 (29:45):
Oh yeah, the Rockies have gotten more attention than the
Tigers have.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
Yeah, I mean I like Terrek Scubel, but uh just
love them. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (29:57):
By the way, the West Sacramento Athletics, yeah are a
half one and a half games out of first place.

Speaker 3 (30:01):
Yeah, okay, which.

Speaker 2 (30:03):
They would make the play They got to host a
playoff game. That'd be great.

Speaker 3 (30:06):
Last one. Today's attendance nine hundred and twenty one.

Speaker 5 (30:10):
In or out. There will be an incident during the
Family Feud taping.

Speaker 2 (30:14):
Incident Todd in Seaton, I'm out, Marvin out, I'm in.
I don't know who it'll be, but it will. There
will be an incident. I'm saying it's either me or
Todd from our team. An incident could be a good thing, though,
it could be it could be it could be one
of those moments that goes viral with Steve Harvey Lucas

(30:39):
in Texas.

Speaker 3 (30:39):
Hey Luke, what's on your mind today?

Speaker 6 (30:42):
Hey Dan?

Speaker 4 (30:42):
Good morning?

Speaker 3 (30:43):
Good morning?

Speaker 14 (30:44):
Or yeah, you're you're right. I'll talk about it yesterday.
Y'all are passed the point of preparation. It's time to just,
you know, get your mind, get your bodies ready for tomorrow.
So my question is a fit check. Who's going to
be the sharpest dressed on the show and honestly, we
probably should check before y'all actually get on a plane,
what is Todd gonna wear. We want to make sure
that we're not showing up any kind of a sweatpant situation.

Speaker 2 (31:07):
Okay, now once again, I was going to do team
uniforms like tracksuits, but I decided that maybe we should
not do that. I didn't ask anybody what their wardrobe
choice was.

Speaker 3 (31:20):
Seaton.

Speaker 11 (31:20):
Well, I'm happy that that was brought up, because you know,
we got that packet that said like, hey, here's what
time you're getting picked up. Here's like all the stuff.
It says like, hey where bold colors, nothing too flashy,
nothing with patterns and all this stuff. Well, the first
line of that when I read it and we originally
got it, said dress casual. Yeah, and I was like sick.
I could totally dress casual. So last night, while I

(31:41):
was going through my clothes to figure out what I
had those bold color I looked at the rules again
and it says dressy casual. Oh with a why that
is drastically dead. So I didn't know what dressy casual was.
I had to look that up, and it turns out
that dressy casual is drastically different than dress casual.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
I was leaning towards wearing what I'm wearing right now.

Speaker 11 (32:06):
That is not appropriate attire, it's not. So what happened
was I read the thing it's aid dress casual. I
was sick. Sick, I'm great. I could totally do casual
all day and then I started. Last night, I sat
down and I watched an episode of Celebrity Family Feud,
and I was like, dang, dude, all these people are
dressed super nice. He's got ties on. Some guys have
like a sport code on women like that. Everybody looked

(32:27):
like a million bucks. So I went back and read
it again, and it says dressy casual with a why.

Speaker 2 (32:34):
Okay, I've already packed unless I go buy something while
i'm there.

Speaker 12 (32:38):
Mark, You've done before.

Speaker 3 (32:39):
I have done that. I've done that. It's very much
part of my plan. What about you, Marvin?

Speaker 12 (32:44):
Yeah, I figured out what I was wearing.

Speaker 3 (32:46):
Your wife helped you?

Speaker 15 (32:48):
She did for once? Yeah, because I usually hate what
she picks out for me. Because I was like, no,
I got this.

Speaker 3 (32:53):
Did she pick out your outfit for Magic City later
on tonight?

Speaker 12 (32:56):
Oh? She sure did?

Speaker 4 (32:57):
She?

Speaker 15 (32:58):
Like you know, Marvin, She's like, I know you don't
do strip clothes, but I know what Lena specially you
have right.

Speaker 12 (33:05):
Legit?

Speaker 16 (33:06):
I did?

Speaker 2 (33:06):
I did ask Marvin. I said, Oh, did you run
this by your wife? He goes, yeah, as a matter
of fact, I did.

Speaker 5 (33:11):
Yeah, everyone's gonna have to do a glitter check on
their clothes, the.

Speaker 12 (33:14):
Old glitter check. Are you going dress casual or dressy casual?

Speaker 15 (33:18):
Marvin, I'm going polo shirt in jeans tonight and then.

Speaker 3 (33:24):
What about tomorrow for the show?

Speaker 12 (33:26):
Oh, same thing, polo shirt slacks.

Speaker 3 (33:29):
Okay, shirt slack yep.

Speaker 12 (33:32):
I got a little jacket to go over it.

Speaker 3 (33:36):
What Yeah, you got a blazer that.

Speaker 12 (33:39):
It's not a blazer, it's almost it's like a light
bomber jacket.

Speaker 3 (33:42):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (33:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 15 (33:43):
You think I was going to like dress up like
an insurance salesman out here country club?

Speaker 12 (33:47):
I know. My mom was like, you can wear a tie. No, No,
you could wear a.

Speaker 2 (33:50):
Tie country country club casual. Okay, Oh, man, I gotta
buy something.

Speaker 4 (33:56):
I do.

Speaker 3 (33:56):
I do because I I have a flannel shirt.

Speaker 5 (34:01):
But is it a dress flannel or is it a
working flannel?

Speaker 3 (34:05):
I've wandered on the air before. Well, I don't know.

Speaker 12 (34:10):
If that's Paul you, what's your outfit?

Speaker 5 (34:13):
I would say I've got a decent pair of pants
and a decent shirt. But it's I'm not trying too hard,
but it looks like you're going out to dinner casual.

Speaker 2 (34:22):
You're usually pretty good at this, You're you're pretty good
at getting dressed up.

Speaker 3 (34:26):
I gotta buy something. I gotta buy something.

Speaker 5 (34:29):
Does anyone have backup clothing they could loan you?

Speaker 3 (34:32):
And I was gonna just wear tennis shoes. Can I
wear tennis shoes to wear?

Speaker 5 (34:36):
I think for the feet down, you're not gonna be
on air that much.

Speaker 3 (34:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (34:40):
I just want to be every man. I want to
be a regular guy. I don't want to go out
there and be able dressed up.

Speaker 12 (34:45):
This is a mess, but this is celebrity family feud. Well,
but you're trying to send a message to the eyes.

Speaker 3 (34:50):
Of a lot of celebrities.

Speaker 2 (34:51):
Don't get dressed up, Marvin good point, Adam Sandler, doesn't
get dressed up.

Speaker 11 (34:58):
I have something that I I wore to the Sports
Emmies once.

Speaker 2 (35:04):
Well, there's something that I've worn like thirty times, and
we can wear that Tuesday night to the Sports Day.
Very likely will Okay, all right, if you're watching on Peacock,
we're going out to the Tregger Grills. We have a
bunch of wings out there and a few other items there.
More phone calls will close up shop here. We're back
after this.

Speaker 1 (35:24):
Be sure to catch the live edition of The Dan
Patrick Show weekdays at nine am Eastern six am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio.

Speaker 3 (35:32):
WAPP Nice Little Meat Friday.

Speaker 2 (35:34):
On Thursday, Dylan baked a cake for me, beautiful, got
some wings here, got all my friends and Fritzy And
this is just how you want to spend a birthday.
Gonna get on a plane today with Todd, spend some
quality time, go to Atlanta check in, go to dinner.

(35:56):
Then all bets are off. All bets are off after that.
But I don't want to go to a gentleman's club
on my birthday because then, you know, all of a sudden,
I'll get singled out there.

Speaker 12 (36:10):
Yeah, Mark, the club DJ is going to recognize.

Speaker 3 (36:12):
You, Oh, sports center center in the house. Your name. Now,
I know they'll be like, okay, all right, Cinnamon, Cinnamon,
come over here, Happy birthday, do this Sports Center guy. Okay,
last go for.

Speaker 2 (36:32):
Are Todd went in the back and talked to the
back room guys, and he goes, do you think they're
serious about going to the Gentleman's Club?

Speaker 12 (36:39):
I don't get my hopes up too much or either.

Speaker 3 (36:40):
Okay, do you want to go?

Speaker 4 (36:42):
I'm actually extremely shy, and you know, in those situations
I could talk a good game, but it's a.

Speaker 12 (36:46):
Very awkward placed the one one's going I would go to.

Speaker 15 (36:49):
I'm not gonna, you know, stand in front of the
line and go with a sign, let's go to the
strip club.

Speaker 12 (36:54):
I've been that. It's extremely awkward, I think, and then
I realized, do you start dancing with son?

Speaker 3 (36:59):
Do you want to go?

Speaker 13 (37:00):
Yeah?

Speaker 12 (37:00):
We could check it out.

Speaker 3 (37:03):
That's how I am.

Speaker 12 (37:04):
Finally, I'll make it drizzle.

Speaker 3 (37:06):
I'm not gonna make it ring a little sawt okay.

Speaker 2 (37:10):
Download the DraftKings Pick six app now use code Patrick
and new customers you pay five dollars, get fifty in
pick six credits. So we have the uh, let's see
more or less to choose from like SGA more or
less thirty and a half points. Now everybody gets to

(37:30):
pick one. We got to pick six. Here there's six
of us, So PAULI, you go first.

Speaker 5 (37:34):
I'd like to go first. The Michael Porter Junior over
under for points is eight and a half. There would
be nothing more Michael Porter Junior than to have twenty seven.

Speaker 3 (37:43):
Points in a loss. I agree, I agree going over
in a loss?

Speaker 2 (37:46):
All right, you have more with Michael Porter Junior Seeton,
how about you more or less?

Speaker 11 (37:53):
Well, that was one that I had circled. So since
I can't use that one, this is going to make
some people unhappy. I think Nikola Joki I'm going to
have uh. I think he's gonna have less than fourteen
and a half rebounds.

Speaker 3 (38:08):
Okay, less right, Todd, I've got SGA under thirty and
a half points.

Speaker 2 (38:15):
He would have less than less than it's less than
a half points.

Speaker 15 (38:20):
Marvin, I got Aaron Gordon the over under his one
and a half May three pointers.

Speaker 12 (38:26):
I'm gonna go with more. He's been on fire.

Speaker 2 (38:28):
Latelying Okay, I'm going Alex Caruso more than one and
a half.

Speaker 3 (38:34):
Three pointers, more than one and another.

Speaker 11 (38:38):
I think if you look at Nikola Jokic, I think
he's only had more than fifteen or more rebounds four times,
maybe five times in this year's playoffs. So the odds
are saying, just based on past performance that he would
have less than that in this game.

Speaker 3 (38:54):
Uh huh, that's my reasoning for that.

Speaker 2 (38:57):
Download the DraftKings Pick six app now use Code Pad
New customers. You play five dollars, get fifty and Pick

what's on your mind today?

Speaker 13 (39:15):
Hi?

Speaker 1 (39:16):
Dan six?

Speaker 16 (39:20):
Happy birthday to you at party on I'm just worried
about the state of baseball. I'm trying to enjoy this
season while I have it serious. If you think we're
heading towards a lockow after this current CPA.

Speaker 3 (39:31):
Yes I do, Yes, I do. This day in sports
history Paul.

Speaker 5 (39:36):
Nineteen twenty six, the New York Rangers were granted the
first NHL franchise. Then they went with Chicago and Detroit
a couple months later, and oh, Nolan Ryan nineteen seventy
three with the Angels pitched his first no hitter And
I love this one nineteen ninety one. US President Bush
Queen Elizabeth to an Oakland A's Baltimore Orioles game.

Speaker 3 (39:56):
It's pretty cool, is that?

Speaker 2 (39:59):
Where they started with the Naked Gun. I don't know
where the queen goes to a baseball game in the
movie Naked Gun.

Speaker 3 (40:06):
Yeah. Reggie Jackson, Yeah, um, let me see on this date,
anything anything, anything?

Speaker 4 (40:14):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (40:15):
Nineteen eighty one, Lynn Barker of the Cleveland Indians pitches
a perfect game, beating the Blue Jays three to nothing.

Speaker 3 (40:22):
All right, let's go around the room. What we learn
on the program, Todd? Would you learn today?

Speaker 4 (40:26):
Jason Kidd doesn't want to get fined by the league.

Speaker 12 (40:28):
He'll just refer to the maps. Expect the topic as
the kid from Duke.

Speaker 3 (40:31):
I was surprised at that that he was worried about
getting fined.

Speaker 12 (40:34):
Seaton, you turned Jason Kidd into a three point shooter?

Speaker 4 (40:38):
I did?

Speaker 2 (40:39):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (40:40):
Melvin J.

Speaker 12 (40:42):
Kidd says Stockton wasn't wasn't smart, he was dirty.

Speaker 3 (40:47):
Uh did he say no? He said he was around Paulie.
Would you learn?

Speaker 2 (40:52):
Don't forget the glitter check what we learned? Brought to
you by Maco. Most cars on the road could use
