Monday nights. Also Peacock NBA Monday and Tuesdays in primetime.
It's Coast to Coast Tuesday on NBC and Peacock.

Speaker 3 (00:48):
We say good morning.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
If you're watching on Peacock, thank you for downloading the
app and our radio affiliates around the country. I have
the NFL Defensive Player of the Year Odds. The NFL
Offensive Player the Year Odds Miles Garrett the overwhelming favorite
for Defensive Player of the Year. MICHAEH. Parsons is second.
So Miles Garrett is minus one thousand, Michael Parsons plus

(01:11):
eight hundred. The offensive player of the year, it's Jonathan Taylor,
and then Jackson Smith nojigba, man, it's hard to ignore
Jackson Smith, nojigba with what he's done because he could
threaten I believe it's Calvin Johnson who still has the
single season yardage record, and I think it's around nineteen

(01:36):
seventy three, nineteen hundred and seventy three yards in a
single season.

Speaker 4 (01:41):
Yes, Paulie, Yeah, I got Calvin Johnson at nineteen hundred
and sixty four, Cooper Cup at nineteen hundred and forty seven,
Julio Jones at eighteen seventy one. JSN right now is
on pace four one hundred and twenty four catches, twenty
twenty nine yards and eleven touchdowns pace.

Speaker 5 (02:03):
Sixteen yards.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
The Cats too, Yeah, he is.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
You know, when you think of Seattle and you think
of their offense, you think of him and what he's
been able to do.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
But oho was there. Impressive numbers, really impressive numbers.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
But you know, once again, he's not playing in a
big city, a big media market.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Their games aren't on national TV.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
You got a really good quarterback and Sam Darnold, and
you know they've taken advantage of that partnership there in
Seattle college football title odds. These are updated as of
this morning by DraftKings. It's Ohio State, then Indiana Notre Dame,
and Texas A and M are tied. Then it's Georgia, Oregon,

(02:48):
Texas Tech, Alabama, and then Old Miss. Speaking of Old Miss,
Lane Kippen met with the media yesterday he was required
to and the meet Yeah, asked some pretty good questions there,
and Lane Kiffin wasn't falling for it.

Speaker 6 (03:05):
Blane Keith released a statement on Friday that saying that you,
him and Chancellor.

Speaker 7 (03:09):
Voice that had a meeting about your future.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
Are you able to elaborate on the nature of that
meeting at all? Yeah, Like I said.

Speaker 8 (03:15):
At the beginning, very fair question, but we're not answering
anything that doesn't have to do with the game and
the team and the season.

Speaker 9 (03:24):
So but fair.

Speaker 10 (03:25):
Additional, Pat McAfee, how you don't make decisions based on
money When you do make your decisions, what are the
considerations for you then, especially when it comes to football.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
Decisions, right, Like, what are you thinking about?

Speaker 9 (03:34):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (03:35):
Very fair question, but I'm not going into it because,
like I said at the beginning, I'm gonna keep this
to this team, and he.

Speaker 10 (03:42):
Says expects a decision on Saturday. Is that a decision
that's been made or is that still in consideration? Like
people were just curious about that.

Speaker 8 (03:51):
Yeah, so I mean you can just keep going. I'm
not going to answer them. So that's three of them.
You got another one.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
Media is just going doing their job. Lane, all right,
you did your job not answering. They did their job
by asking. I thought the one question about Hey, you
said it's not about money, so what is it going
to be about? Man, he wasn't biting on any of that,
but yeah, asking good questions, asking an open ended question
and still didn't get him to go, yes, Todd.

Speaker 9 (04:20):
Hey, coach, I actually have a fourth question.

Speaker 11 (04:21):
That was Hugh Florida. Which way we're leading right now?
None of us believe he's staying here.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Yes.

Speaker 12 (04:27):
I feel like Lane was pretty fair there. I feel
like that was a win win in terms of press conferences.
I think the reporters the press asked good questions, and
I thought that he for the most part was pretty
like like, you know, I'm not going to talk about this.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
You know, both sides know.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
Yet he's not going to talk about it, but it's
kind of nice to see him squirm a little bit.

Speaker 12 (04:49):
I would actually say too, because he was just like, look,
if it's not about you know, the team, the game
this weekend or the season, I'm not going to ask
about it. I would argue that his future coaching right
now is very real. Of it to this season and
this game coming up and all of it.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
Yes, but also his relevancy too Ole miss Is he
going to be their coach if they go to the playoffs,
if he decides to take the job at Florida or LSU.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
That's what I'm curious about.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
Could they make this announcement, Could this announcement be leaked
before the Friday game? And imagine going on the field
if he's not staying, but he's going to be coaching
that game against Mississippi State, And that's a real possibility.
I mean it could break Thursday, it could break Friday
morning before the game. That is he going to stay?

Speaker 3 (05:38):
Because it feels like.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Like I'm just going to be The logic attached to
this is if he was staying, he would say he
was staying unless he's waiting for them to sweeten the pot.
Because the reports are old miss is going to match
the salary that LSU is offering, which could be thirteen

(06:01):
fourteen million dollars a year. Now, you may want to
know what else is LSU giving you, And they got
to give you a Lincoln Riley deal where you get
to use the corporate jet whenever you want to. Maybe
now you can get around this by saying this is
what my family wants to do, or I made this
in the best interest of my family. Hard to argue

(06:24):
if you throw.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
That out there. Now, do I believe that?

Speaker 6 (06:27):
No?

Speaker 2 (06:27):
I don't because I go back to the documentary that
I watched, and it was on Lane Kiffin and Lane
Kiffen kind of finding out who Lane Kiffin is, and
that it felt like he had happiness there. He found
something or maybe it found him. But Lane Kiffin is
a guy who chases. There's certain coaches they chase, but

(06:49):
they don't know what they're chasing. Because even if you
go to LSU and you win a national title, he
won't stop chasing. It's just something that is know in
eight in part of his DNA, you chase, You're chasing,
You're constantly chasing, and like he's been kicked to the curb,
he comes back, and then he's chasing and then he's

(07:10):
in Okay, maybe you go to Florida Atlantic and then
you come back. I mean Nick Saban saved his career
when Saban brought him in as his offensive coordinator. He
saved him. He saved Sark as well. And look, I
don't begrudge him for getting the best deal possible, making
as much money as he wants. But you have to

(07:31):
understand with those decisions come ramifications. They are going to
be opinions. It be a terrible Now, maybe he doesn't care,
a terrible hit to his credentials if he does take
this job elsewhere because he's flirted with this, and we

(07:53):
did social media and little post here and maybe somebody
leaked it.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
Maybe your agent leaked that.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
Your family was in LSU and then they were in
Florida and Okay, That's where I have a problem with this,
because it felt like you were kind of toying with
the people from Oxford, Mississippi. That's the problem I have
with this. You want to take another job, take another job, okay,
Like your credibility is going to take a hit if

(08:20):
you decide to go. And maybe you don't care his
credibility has taken a hit. His confidence has probably taken
a hit many many times. You get fired on the tarmac,
embarrassed by the raiders, kick to the curb, you go
to Florida Atlantic. But he is a really good coach.
I just think he I don't know if he knows

(08:41):
who he is. And I'm only doing this from the
outside looking in at that documentary they did because he
was it was I'm kind of finding out who the
hell am I? And it felt like as I'm watching that,
good for him. I remember coming in and I go, man,
you know, maybe Kiffin's figured this out. He found maybe

(09:03):
who he is what he needed, uh, you know, narcissistic Okay,
but I just think your credibility takes a hit. Given
how this is playing out right now, I'm hoping he
stays at Old Miss. I like the story, and you
this is the greatest season they've ever had. Any Maybe

(09:25):
you're gonna get more talented LSU or Florida more money. Okay,
and maybe it's not more money because the reports are
that Ole Miss will match that money.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
So what exactly is this?

Speaker 2 (09:40):
Sometimes you're chasing, gotta keep chasing. Somebody wants me Hey,
I gotta go. Hey, the moth to the Light, I'm going,
I gotta I mean, why not?

Speaker 5 (09:49):
This is what I do?

Speaker 2 (09:51):
You know, Hey, I'm at Tennessee. No, I'm going to
USC Hey. Hey, Hey, hey, hey, I don't know if
he's figured himself out. If he decides to leave, given
what's happened with the leading up to this, and then
you're gonna take these questions. You're gonna take the heat. Okay,
you can end it all by saying I'm staying at

(10:12):
Old Miss. Then it goes away, and imagine the reaction
he gets when he takes the field on Friday afternoon.
Do I think he's going?

Speaker 3 (10:21):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (10:21):
The more I look at it, the more I hear,
the more I read, Yeah, I do. But I hope
he stays at Old Miss because it's been a great story. Yes, Tom,
I was going to ask you just that.

Speaker 11 (10:30):
I know the game's in Starkville, But if it did
leak out and there were substantiated reports before the kickoff
Friday that he's leaving, Like, what would that reaction be?

Speaker 9 (10:38):
Is there any will there be some support for him?

Speaker 11 (10:40):
They still want to finish strong or they were all
anti kipping as far as the average old Miss man.

Speaker 9 (10:45):
Just get out of here. You don't want to be
here anymore. We don't need you.

Speaker 3 (10:48):
What do you think?

Speaker 11 (10:49):
I think more but not everyone, but more than more
of them would be the majority.

Speaker 12 (10:53):
Of with thee.

Speaker 9 (10:53):
Why don't you just leave now if you don't want
to be here anymore? But I don't think it would
be screw this.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
Yeah, but you need him to to have a better
chance in the playoffs, Like he's unnecessary. You don't want
him because he doesn't want you, but you do need
him in the moment.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
Yeah, Marvin.

Speaker 13 (11:11):
Now do you think Old Miss fans will feel better
if they won the national title and he left? Like,
you know what, he gave us a national title. He's
free to go, almost like a maybe not the same
thing as Jim Harball, But you're not as upset because
he left you with the national title four team that's
never won a national title.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
I can't speak for those people. I guess I would
be fine. I mean, that's a nice consolation prize. We
won the national title and we lost our coach. But
once again you're trying to figure out somebody in their
personality here as a coach. I don't worry, but once again,
when you watch that documentary, you can't come away going.

(11:47):
You have a different opinion about Lane, you really do.
And his family's all there, and his ex wife is there,
kids in school. I mean, it just felt like, all right,
you got it, you finally got it.

Speaker 3 (12:01):
But it feels like he's still chasing. Yeah, Pauline.

Speaker 4 (12:04):
I wonder if Lane and his agents don't tell whoever
he's staying with or going to until after the game,
so there can be no leaks. You get the win,
you wake up on Saturday morning, and that's when you
tell the person you're going with, the team you're going with.

Speaker 3 (12:18):
Do you think that he has not made up his mind.

Speaker 4 (12:20):
No, I think he has absolutely made up his mind
based off the offer is given to him, more about
not his contract but the money that we spent on
the roster. But I think he and his agent, to
protect themselves on Friday, don't tell the suitor.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
That they want to do. They won't keep it a secret.
They won't keep it a secret. Somebody knows. There's somebody,
at least somebody who knows what he's going to do
at LSU and Florida has to be. They may not
know what Old Miss but there is somebody or somebody's
who know, and it doesn't take long before somebody says, hey, okay,

(12:57):
you can't say anything till after the game.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
Okay, yeah, yeah, see yeah.

Speaker 12 (13:03):
I kind of feel like right now they're in that
stage of the negotiations where it's like, uh so, do
I get the private jet in my family.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
All year or is it just specific? What's my suite?

Speaker 6 (13:14):
Like?

Speaker 3 (13:14):
Is it a double or is it just the one?

Speaker 5 (13:16):
Is it you know, are you.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
Selling T shirts with my name on it? And what's
my cut of that?

Speaker 12 (13:20):
It's I think he's going through like drilling down that
deep into the fine you know, dotting the eyes part.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
Chris and Syracuse and we'll take a break. Reggie Miller
will join us. Good morning, Chris. What's on your mind?

Speaker 14 (13:32):
Hey?

Speaker 15 (13:32):
Thanks Dan? Hey, I just had a question on Shador
And also I wanted to say Dan, you and your
family have a great Thanksgiving and the Dans as well.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
And Dan.

Speaker 15 (13:41):
Since Shardor Sanders was drafted, there's been such a unique, interesting,
kind of unwarranted media coverage of his every move, which
I think is just too much. Do you think a
fair comp to that was how the media handled Tim
Tebow when he was drafted.

Speaker 2 (13:56):
Well, this is what I worry about with the media.
They are going to put him in a position. If
he's not good enough to start, it'll be tough to
keep him on the roster because of the publicity the
backup quarterback kits. And this is what I've cautioned the media.
You guys love this story and you want to go
with this story. But if he's not good enough to start,

(14:16):
he might be a bridge quarterback. Then you're going to
have teams going do we really want to put up
with this? Whenever the starter has a bad game, then
you ask the coach, Hey, is should we're going to play?
When should we're getting in? This happened with Tim Tebow.
The media they have fixation on Tim Tebow, and it
put Tim in that position.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
And it's difficult.

Speaker 4 (14:40):
Yeah, Paul, you know what, It kind of reminds me
of like when a pop band would break and the
radio stations would play the song to death and a
band you just discover and love, you know, like the
spin Doctors or something, and then they play their song
for eight weeks and eight weeks are like, I'm so
sick of those guys. I'm so played out. You know,
bands that break become one hit, wonders hot, and then
the coverage makes you dislike them.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
I wonder if cam Ward's dad was Dean Sanders and
Shadoor Sanders was just somebody played at Colorado, nobody would care,
but everybody would. Nobody cares about cam Ward. He's the
number one overall pick. He doesn't make any of these shows.

(15:22):
Nobody talks about him at all.

Speaker 13 (15:24):
Yes, Martin, he's like on the Eric Fisher level of
like most irrelevant number one picks in the draft.

Speaker 5 (15:29):
He's a quarterback.

Speaker 2 (15:30):
I know, I know, the number one overall pick. All right, Well,
take a break. Reggie Miller joins us next.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
Red Gi Miller, the Hall of Famer, joining us on
the program. So Lebron's back, Luca's back. Are the Lakers back?

Speaker 7 (16:27):
Looking at their record, it seems that they're back.

Speaker 6 (16:29):
Yes, I think now JJ Reddick has his full compliment
of players. The question I think going forward is how
is he going to navigate You've got Luca averaging thirty
four and a half. You've got Austin Reeves the second
leading score at around twenty eight. I had to go

(16:50):
back and look at this, and maybe you can answer this.

Speaker 7 (16:55):
When was the last time? It's never?

Speaker 6 (16:57):
When was the last time Lebron James was the fifth
leading score on his team? He's averaging fourteen points? So
how does JJ navigate that? Having an All NBA player
just a year ago, second team in Lebron, and now
you incorporate him within the Lakers structures who've gotten off

(17:19):
to a great start.

Speaker 7 (17:20):
Whin there's a four straight.

Speaker 3 (17:22):
But this could be a good thing. Reg It's a
great thing.

Speaker 7 (17:25):
It's a great problem to have, and we saw a
little bit.

Speaker 6 (17:29):
I just recently watched the back to back series they
had with Utah, and that second game in Utah, the
last two minutes were a little kind of wild because
they didn't know it was between Austin Reeves and Luca
and Lebron, and all they kept running was high screen
and roll with Lebron being the screener.

Speaker 7 (17:50):
At some point, when Lebron.

Speaker 6 (17:52):
Has his legs, he has his wind, and he's back
in full shape, no back issues. You assume at some
point Lebron's going to have the ball with some of
these highest screen roles. So once they figure out that
dynamic of crunch time, they're still won the game, don't
get me wrong, But they've got to figure out their
closing moment and action between those three players.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
Okay, give me the hierarchy in the West. Best teams
in the West right now? Who would be number one
aside from Okac Okay.

Speaker 7 (18:25):
No question?

Speaker 6 (18:25):
Ok see yeah, then Jokic and Denver, and then right
right after them is the Houston Rockets. I think Houston
is playing off the charts right now at both ends
of the floor, and I think they figured out you know,
we were wondering, like, how would Lebron fit in with

(18:47):
Luca and Nostinees. We were kind of wondering, and older
Kevin Durant, how is he going to fit in with
this young team?

Speaker 7 (18:54):
And it's been perfect him and Shane Goon. I'm in Thompson.

Speaker 6 (19:00):
To me, I think come playoff times, I still have
questions about that point guard.

Speaker 3 (19:05):
Yeah, but they figured.

Speaker 6 (19:08):
It out so far and they're winning ball games. So
to me, those are the top three teams.

Speaker 3 (19:14):
Can the Thunder win seventy games?

Speaker 6 (19:16):
They could if they wanted to, I don't think that's
a priority for them.

Speaker 7 (19:22):
Again, and they're doing this without Jacob.

Speaker 6 (19:24):
By the way, guys, just like last year they did
that hot start without Chet. Chet played the first game,
got hurt and missed, you know, like fifty games after
that or something, and they continue to win. So they're
only going to get better once Jalen Williams gets back.
Could they win fifty or seventy and maybe go for
the Golden State Warriors record, perhaps, but I don't think

(19:48):
that's a priority. Being healthy, playing well going into the
playoffs is probably and getting overall number one seeds because
as we saw last year, you want a game seven
in you or building, and having the overall best record allows.

Speaker 7 (20:03):
You to do that.

Speaker 3 (20:04):
Are you on the Pistons bandwagon?

Speaker 7 (20:06):
I am? I am the Pistons.

Speaker 2 (20:10):
Where do they rank in the East? Then, who's the
best team in the East?

Speaker 6 (20:14):
No question, it's Detroit And what I love about them
defensively they bring back that same identity from the Isaiah
Thomas and Bill Lamber bad Boys to the Chauncey Billups,
Rip Hamilton, Tayshawn Prince. They have a defensive identity, but
more importantly, they have a go to guy in Cave Cunningham.

(20:37):
I loved the Duncan Robinson pickup a guy that is
a catch and shoot type guy, but he's added to
his game.

Speaker 7 (20:44):
He doesn't hurt you defensively.

Speaker 6 (20:46):
And Jalen Durnham is an all star in my opinion
this year he's made the biggest leap in terms of
his development, controlling the paint and being able to score
as well. To me, they are no question right now
the team in the Eastern Conference.

Speaker 3 (21:02):
How did the Nets get this bad Reggie?

Speaker 6 (21:06):
I think it all went to when they had Katie Kyrie,
James Harden and a lot of trades, bad trades.

Speaker 7 (21:14):
And it is what it is.

Speaker 6 (21:16):
It's just bad trades, bad management, bad scouting.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
But they're one of the most irrelevant teams in all
of pro.

Speaker 7 (21:29):
Sports, right, Yes, I.

Speaker 2 (21:35):
Mean they're terrible. They're They got Michael Porter Junior and
that's it there.

Speaker 6 (21:40):
I will say this, there was a time if Kevin
Durant's foot or feet are not on the line, they
could have an NBA championship.

Speaker 3 (21:49):
But that's such a long time ago.

Speaker 7 (21:52):
It is. But it's ebbs and flows with some of
these organizations.

Speaker 2 (21:57):
I feel like I could have done a better job
running than net I do.

Speaker 3 (22:03):
I'm barely kidding.

Speaker 7 (22:05):
Nod to me. Bad management, bad scouting.

Speaker 6 (22:09):
It's just right now, it's a bad organization.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
What do you make of the Kenyan Martin Draymond Green
back and forth? Where Okay, let me see if I
got this right?

Speaker 7 (22:20):
Is that it up?

Speaker 3 (22:20):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (22:21):
Kenyon Martin, former number one overall pick, said Draymond isn't tough,
he's calculated. Draymond responds by calling Kenyon Martin an underachiever
for only making one All Star team. Kenyon Martin responded
by naming two hundred power forwards better than Draymond Green.

Speaker 3 (22:38):
How did we get here?

Speaker 7 (22:40):
Right? Look, both of these guys from Michigan, right.

Speaker 6 (22:45):
And I posted a comment after I saw the response
from from Kenyan Martin about the two hundred power forwards
that were better than Draymond, saying, and I'm quoting Rodney Keane,
can we all just get along?

Speaker 7 (23:00):
Right?

Speaker 6 (23:01):
Because both of these guys I played against Kmart in
his era, very tough dude overall number one pick, brought
it every night. And I've covered Draymond Green throughout his
whole illustrious career, and to me, it, I mean it's
popcorn worthy.

Speaker 7 (23:20):
Don't get me wrong. It's fun to watch them back
and forth.

Speaker 6 (23:24):
But I just wish these two either Kmart needs to
go on Draymond's podcast or Draymond needs to go on
Kenyan's podcast. They need to air this out because it's
getting a little ridiculous now. Personally, if I was Draymon,
I never would have responded because you've got the rings

(23:46):
and right now it looks like this is almost like
the Drake Knda Lamar beef right, and right now it
kind of looks like Kmart is winning.

Speaker 17 (23:57):
I don't like the bo out better than Draymond Green.
RESSI Evans better than Draymond Green.

Speaker 3 (24:07):
Now some of the June.

Speaker 2 (24:12):
I mean, come on, man, okay, is Draymond a fake
tough guy?

Speaker 3 (24:18):
Is he calculated?

Speaker 7 (24:20):
Meaning? What does that mean?

Speaker 3 (24:22):
That means that he is very good at engagement.

Speaker 7 (24:25):
Maybe he just hasn't.

Speaker 6 (24:27):
I think what Kmart is saying is that he hasn't
started something with the with the wrong person, like for like,
for instance, for instance, you remember when Boogie Cousins, DeMarcus
Cousins went against Zach Randolph and was trying that with
Zach Randolph, and Zach Randolph said.

Speaker 7 (24:48):
I put fear in the bullies. He picked on the
wrong one.

Speaker 6 (24:52):
Because DeMarcus used to go after just about everyone, but
he wouldn't go after Zach Randolph, right, And I think
that that's what Kmart is saying, like you're not going
after the real tough, You're not going after all the enforcers.
And I just wish these two would get in the room,
hug it out, talk it out, podcast it out.

Speaker 7 (25:14):
Whatever these kids do today, figure it out.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
Talking to Reggie Miller will be on the call tonight.
It's a double header. Coast to coast Lebron Luca Lakers
against James Harden and the Clippers Battle of La at
eleven pm Eastern on NBC and Peacock. How do you
think we're going to look back on Nikola Jokic, like historically,
where does he rank?

Speaker 3 (25:38):
Where will he ranked? You think when it's all shut
and done, the.

Speaker 6 (25:41):
Only thing missing from his resume is chips. He's done
everything personally, He's got all the MVPs, He's have all
the numbers and will have all the numbers to vacuum.
The only thing that will solidify him amongst the greats
are championships. I think we The knock on Will Chamberlain
is that he only gotten one or two, right, and

(26:05):
you look at Kareem who has six. You've got Bill
Russell who has what eight or nine? Hakeem has too.
So I think the only knock with the Joker are chips.
So if he wins chips, he's in. He will be
in a separate wing of the Hall of Fame because

(26:25):
his accolades and his resume will be ridiculous at the
end of the day.

Speaker 3 (26:30):
Yeah, but I'm wondering about this. We do this with
NFL quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (26:34):
Hey, you got one, but then if you get to two,
like you really separate yourself. Whereas Joker is not going
to win four or five championships. But if he wins,
I think he's got to get the three. If he
gets the three, if you give him three and you
give him, he might end up with five MVPs. So

(26:56):
three titles, five MVPs now all you.

Speaker 6 (26:59):
Can make a case for him to be the greatest
center of all time if he gets three rings. If
he wins three rings, he is the greatest center of
all time over three in today's climate.

Speaker 3 (27:15):
Yes, okay, we're taking Willed and Bill Russell out of this.

Speaker 6 (27:19):
I'm certainly taking Bill Russell out. Remember we talked about this. Yeah,
it's hard to put players from the sixties. It's seventy
five on. Okay, So to me, it's Kareem as the
greatest and then Shaq. He's competing against those two guys
in terms of who is the greatest center. If he
wins three, you can make a case he's the greatest

(27:43):
because his numbers will back that up.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
Because I'm trying to think any other center, like he's
almost the first guy on the moon with big men
who's getting average in a triple double.

Speaker 7 (27:57):
And to me. His passing is what separate him. His
rebounding is there, his scoring is there.

Speaker 6 (28:03):
It's the passing, right and for a big man to
average a triple double, and it looks like he's going
to do it then back to back years, it looks
like he's going to pick up another MVP the Nuggets,
which it looks like there will be a top four
seed right now.

Speaker 7 (28:18):
I believe they're two.

Speaker 2 (28:20):
But it's almost like he's created a system like Peyton
Manning did. Peyton Manning redefined the quarterback play by going
to the line of scrimmage and he created his own system.
Jokers created his own system, his own ecosystem. There that
you got a point center who also shoots great from three,

(28:42):
you know, rebound steals, all of those different things.

Speaker 6 (28:46):
Well, we talked about the nets, bad management that surrounding
incorporating great The Nuggets have gotten it right.

Speaker 7 (28:56):
They revamped their whole team. They got rid of Michael
Porter Junior, who we mentioned going to the nets.

Speaker 6 (29:01):
And now you've got you've got players around him that
compliment the two best players, Jamal Murray and Jokic, and
you know.

Speaker 7 (29:11):
Bringing back Bruce Brown fantastic.

Speaker 6 (29:15):
I just think the only thing missing from the Big
Fella is ships.

Speaker 7 (29:20):
But here's the problem. In a loaded Western conference.

Speaker 6 (29:24):
The team that's ahead of you, they they have figured
out how to win just like you did a couple
of years ago. They want a chip just like you
did a few years ago, and they will be a
hard out.

Speaker 7 (29:36):
They're just as big.

Speaker 6 (29:38):
And yes, you took him to seven games last year,
but again they won. So that's the problem. You have
that team in your conference now that you've got to
go through.

Speaker 2 (29:50):
If you were getting traded and you had to pick
between Brooklyn or Washington, the Wizard.

Speaker 3 (29:58):
Or is there a worst one than that? Is New
Orleans in there.

Speaker 6 (30:04):
If I had to pick a team right now that
I would want to play for in today's.

Speaker 3 (30:08):
Game today at least want to play for.

Speaker 6 (30:15):
I would probably say, I mean Brooklyn, you're in New York,
so that's kind of cool.

Speaker 7 (30:21):
Washington. I would throw Washington New Orleans in there. Those
are two of my favorite.

Speaker 3 (30:29):
But I had to Sacramento, Utah.

Speaker 7 (30:33):
Sacramento, at least you're in California.

Speaker 18 (30:36):
In Utah, yeah, that would be very tough. That would
be very very difficult. I could go skiing. Look, I
can't do good, you know, sun dance.

Speaker 3 (30:50):
Can you ski?

Speaker 7 (30:51):
No? I can't. Sorry, I said I could go, maybe
the family would go.

Speaker 3 (30:56):
But hey, the jammer rank Klay Thompson thing. One's another.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
How can you call Klay Thompson a bum if you're
in street clothes and you are bordering on being a bust?

Speaker 6 (31:11):
Thank you, thank you. Here's my thing. Why are they
going after god Draymond Green? Four rings Klay Thompson for?
I mean, how are you going to talk about guys
and they've been to the top of the mountaintop and
you're in street clothes.

Speaker 7 (31:27):
I mean, I love John Moran, but.

Speaker 6 (31:31):
Get back before you start talking, and get healthy and
get on the court. Please please, that's all we're asking.
You can't be talking in cities, all right, You just can't.

Speaker 3 (31:41):
But to call Klay Thompson a bum.

Speaker 17 (31:44):
Hey, we got four newscord sixty one points and eight dribble.

Speaker 3 (31:51):
He's one of the five greatest shooters of all time.

Speaker 6 (31:54):
I mean, come on, it's getting ridiculous, man, it's getting ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (31:59):
You gotta get these kids a history lesson here too,
Like what's going on here?

Speaker 6 (32:06):
I don't understand it? And again, Clay, he shouldn't respond.
He should be looking down like.

Speaker 3 (32:15):
Cleat How are the Mavericks looking.

Speaker 6 (32:24):
I guess it ain't all eCos fault, right, but again,
they've been riddled with injury. I can't I cannot really
judge the Mavericks until a D and Kyrie is back,
and then I can get a full assessment of them.
So I'm not gonna I can't dog Cooper and the
rest of these guys out until I get those two

(32:46):
guys back.

Speaker 3 (32:47):
Could Con Knipple be the best rookie this year?

Speaker 7 (32:51):
He's winning a Rookie of the.

Speaker 3 (32:52):
Year, He's averaging nineteen a game.

Speaker 7 (32:55):
He's winning a Rookie of the Year. And dare I
say this?

Speaker 5 (33:00):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (33:00):
Oh?

Speaker 17 (33:01):
There?

Speaker 7 (33:01):
I say, Oh?

Speaker 12 (33:04):
Is he?

Speaker 7 (33:05):
Is? Stephan Curry going to be a little nervous?

Speaker 6 (33:08):
Whoa in about fifteen years?

Speaker 14 (33:13):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (33:13):
With the three point totals?

Speaker 6 (33:15):
Yes, think Just go back and look at Steph's first
two or three years in terms of owners made and
what Kaan has done this year. Just look at their
first years. I'm just saying, if you stay, but here's
the problem. You gotta stay healthy. Longevity seventeen years, eighteen
years for Stephan Curry, Ken Kahan can nipp will do that?

(33:40):
Over a long period of time. I want to see
it and CON's doing it.

Speaker 7 (33:45):
Charlotte, Charlotte. Oh yeah, that might be a place too.

Speaker 3 (33:52):
You don't want to go to Charlotte. That might be
a place too, Yeah, Paulie.

Speaker 4 (33:57):
Steph Curry's first three years in the NBA, with the
ankle injury, he averaged two point one threes made per game.
Con Kannipple our guy. He's averaging three point seven threes
made per game in year one.

Speaker 3 (34:10):
Yeah, he's pretty good. Yeah, he can get to the
rim too. So shooter shoot yeah, shoot yeah.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
Shooters make you know, Yeah, shooters make that's the difference.
Have fun tonight, Happy Thanksgiving to the family, and thanks.

Speaker 7 (34:30):
And my lovely dad's gobble, Gobble Gobble.

Speaker 3 (34:33):
That is Regg Miller. He'll be on the call tonight.

Speaker 2 (34:36):
It's Lebron Luca Lakers hosting James Harden and the Clippers.
It's the Battle of La at eleven Eastern on NBC
and Peacock. We'll take a break last call for phone calls.
What we learn, what's in store tomorrow after this.

Speaker 2 (35:01):
Story yesterday Steph Curry was upset that under Armour's offer
to Caitlin Clark wasn't very good, and Stephan under Armour
have since parted ways. Now he's gonna be with Nike.
Caitlyn Clark is with Nike. But then they went on
to say in the article that not everybody's thrilled with

(35:21):
the Caitlin Clark Nike relationship. I think the logo when
they came out with the Caitlyn Clark Nike logo, it
was kind of like lukewarm, but Steph saying he was
disappointed that under Armour didn't go after Caitlin Clark or
at least give her a better deal.

Speaker 13 (35:37):
Yes, Marvin, I'm enjoying Steph Curry wearing Nikes now. It
seems like he wore Air Jordan's last night walking into
the arena, and I was like, man, he's been waiting
about fifteen years to put on the pair of Air
Jordan's or a pair of Kobe's because he had to
wear under armor because he's under contract.

Speaker 5 (35:51):
So good for him.

Speaker 2 (35:51):
Okay, So you're saying he could have been better if
he was playing in better shoes.

Speaker 13 (35:58):
More stylish. Oh okay, he would have been great no
matter what he wore.

Speaker 2 (36:02):
Let me see all these guys play in convers Chuck
Taylor's and yeah, man, back when you we used to
do it, nobody ever had a sprained ankle back then.
For some reason, those shoes when you wear high top
Chuck Taylor's, there's no support, but it always it feels
like no one had a sprained ankle back then for
some reason.

Speaker 9 (36:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 12 (36:23):
See, I mean to be fair, that's because no one
had thought of cutting side to side yet.

Speaker 2 (36:28):
It's just all in a direction now. But we were
getting up back then, we were hitting us went straight ahead,
we were go left and he were getting up.

Speaker 9 (36:38):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (36:38):
David in Ohio? I David, what's on your mind?

Speaker 5 (36:43):
Hey?

Speaker 19 (36:43):
What's up?

Speaker 11 (36:43):
Dan?

Speaker 12 (36:44):
Yeah?

Speaker 19 (36:44):
I'm with Marv on the whole Ham for Thanksgiving situation.
We're having that for Thanksgiving. Can't wait to do that.

Speaker 14 (36:50):
Yeah, I'm loving it.

Speaker 19 (36:51):
Amount of things you can do with Ham. Second is, Uh,
we're having Thanksgiving at the in laws and they don't
really like having the TV, and I really we really
want to watch the game.

Speaker 6 (37:02):
Uh.

Speaker 19 (37:03):
Wow, you know whatnot and didn't not yet any advice
to try to say, I'm in the right direction, so
it to maybe watch the game.

Speaker 2 (37:09):
Well, i'd get new in laws. That'd probably be where
i'd start. I mean, juice a side here. How much
do you really love your wife?

Speaker 19 (37:19):
Oh?

Speaker 14 (37:20):
I love her to death?

Speaker 2 (37:21):
Okay, all right, well, then maybe you say to her,
we're going to be hosting Thanksgiving from now on, and
you set the rules.

Speaker 3 (37:28):
You're the king.

Speaker 19 (37:29):
Okay, yeah, well then we do have the We do
have the ninety eight inch television, which is you know,
pretty good, so that'd be that'd be a good viewing experience.

Speaker 2 (37:39):
Yeah, but you got to be ready to host, though,
because you never have fun when you host. It's amazing
whenever we do our Christmas party, the number of people
who have you know, there's no more toilet paper.

Speaker 3 (37:50):
All right, hold on?

Speaker 2 (37:52):
Could you do you have colder beer? Is there any
whiskey that we can It just feels like here all
you're doing is answering questions. That's why I usually go
out to the garage and just hide out there. Yes,
mar can I go to your roof? Oh yeah, when
your son said that, that's another question. Yeah, Marvin's son
goes how much is this house? And then he wanted

(38:16):
to go up into my attic.

Speaker 3 (38:19):
We wanted to go up there and go, no, no,
where's your where's your parents? Get out of here? You
old punk?

Speaker 5 (38:29):
Sorry? Thank you?

Speaker 9 (38:30):
What kind of mortgage we're looking at?

Speaker 5 (38:32):
That's what he said. He's like, hey, Dan, can I
call you?

Speaker 6 (38:34):
Dan?

Speaker 5 (38:35):
He did, how much you think this house goes for?

Speaker 12 (38:36):
Like?

Speaker 3 (38:37):
What do you mean you get septic city water?

Speaker 9 (38:40):
What is it?

Speaker 3 (38:41):
He's such a cute kid. Dylan in Wisconsin. I Dylan,
what's on your mind today?

Speaker 9 (38:47):
Hey?

Speaker 14 (38:47):
Happy Tuesday from Wisconsin.

Speaker 3 (38:49):
Well, thank you, Dylan.

Speaker 19 (38:51):
H Dynamite Packers.

Speaker 14 (38:53):
Defense. You think if Jordan Love and the wide receivers
start to melt, well, you are legit super Bowl contenders.

Speaker 2 (39:02):
Yes, yes, long as Josh Jacobs stays healthy, defense continues
to play great. You just you know, I need Jordan
Love to be better than just kind of average. He's
got to be good. And really that's the balance you're
looking for. Let's say you have a really good offense,
you just need an average defense. Or if you have,

(39:23):
you know, an average defense, you need a better than
average offense.

Speaker 3 (39:27):
I mean, that's sometimes what it comes down to.

Speaker 2 (39:30):
It's very very rare unless you're the Eagles, where you
have the best offense and best defenses they did last year.

Speaker 3 (39:38):
Let's see Joe in New Orleans. Hi, Joe.

Speaker 14 (39:43):
More in gentlemen, Frizzy. So with the recent conversation around
best state of the football, I want to ask about
the worst state for sports. LSU barely beats Western Kentucky.
Head coach fired Pelicans are three and fifteen, head coach
fired Saints are two and nine, and Moore looks like
he's in over his head. So I would dominate Louisiana

(40:03):
as the worst state for sports.

Speaker 2 (40:04):
All right, well, congratulations there, Joe, congratulations this day in
sports history, Paul.

Speaker 5 (40:12):
Don't have a good top that we need some time.

Speaker 4 (40:13):
On nineteen twenty one, the first play by play broadcast
of a college football game in college station Texas, Amateur
radio station UT and Texas A and M. First broadcast
in color of an NFL game on CBS nineteen sixty five,
the Lions of the Colts twenty four twenty four tie
and nineteen seventy six O. J. Simpson The Bills ran
for two seventy three against the Detroit Lions.

Speaker 2 (40:35):
Nineteen seventy nine, Pat Summer on John Madden broadcast their
first game together.

Speaker 3 (40:40):
All right, Todd, would you learn today.

Speaker 11 (40:42):
Lewis Riddick would not put Joe Burrow up there for
the three and eight Bengals, potentially risking his long term
helt Satan.

Speaker 3 (40:47):
What did you learn?

Speaker 9 (40:47):
I learned?

Speaker 3 (40:48):
What the worst state in the Union. It's for sports, Marvin.

Speaker 5 (40:51):
No actionent east of Kentucky's.

Speaker 2 (40:52):
No, there wasn't on or off the court, Pauli con canipple, Todd,
what did I learn?

Speaker 11 (40:57):
Reggie Millis has no question the Pistons best team in
the Eastern Conference.

Speaker 2 (41:01):
Thanks for joining us. We'll talk to you tomorrow. For
