Speaker 1 (00:00):
You are listening to the Dan Patrick Show on Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Did the NFL owners do something that maybe they didn't
realize they were going to be caught doing, or at
least it's open to interpretation that maybe there's some collusion.
We'll talk to Pablo Torre, the Pablo Tory Finds Out podcast.
He's been. He took time out from Bill Belichick and
(00:24):
his girlfriend to find out something else. Him and Mike
Floria from Pro Football Talk have all the details, and
I'm going to have him. He's a very smart guy.
Simplify it for me so I can understand it and
maybe dumb it down is the expression that I would
probably use for me. Eight seven seven three DP Show

(00:46):

Speaker 3 (01:09):
Good morning Dan. Morning. Fellas native Cincinnati and Dan went
to high school a Lakota. I talked to you about
it before. Over the years, we always bring up Kevin Greevy.
Kevin Greevy was a tough dude for me to guard
man it got was bad ass Dan Kevin Greedy never
Oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah. I appreciated your story yesterday.
(01:30):
I'd known you got health problems over the years, and
I appreciated you're elaborating on some of the agony went
through with that chronic tank because I've been dealing with
it since the Vietnam thing too. What was your lottery number? Dan?
Do you remember what your lottery number was?
Speaker 2 (01:44):
I didn't have one. My oldest brother did. My second
oldest brother missed out, and then I was two years
younger than him.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
Oh good for you. Yeah, I thought, well, I might
be able to make out on this deal.
Speaker 4 (01:59):
No, you're not.
Speaker 3 (01:59):
Mike number twelve, Bye bye. Mincel Ha got drafted, so
it didn't work out well. Dan, from the same hometown,
same age group. I wanted to know if if you
can recall the starting five for the University of Cincinnati
Bearcats in their run for a three teat sixty sixty
one and sixty two.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Okay, okay. Cincinnati Bearcats championship team nineteen sixty sixty one.
I think Ed Jucker was the head coach. They had
Bonham Thacker, Yates Hogue. I think they had a center Dirkin,
(02:38):
Connie Durkin's brother. I don't know if Weisenhun was there yet,
he was, he was, Okay, How did I do with Bonner,
Bonn Thacker, Yates.
Speaker 5 (02:49):
Hogue, Tom Thacker, Tony Yates, Paul Hogue, Fred Dirking your referenced,
and Bob.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
Weisenhan weizen Hunt. Mike, thanks for calling in. By the way,
I played a pickup game with these guys who played
for Cincinnati. They won a national title in the sixties
and we played against them. They were probably in their
late forties and they were incredibly great still.
Speaker 6 (03:17):
You know.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
It was one of those all star teams traveling around
Ohio playing high school alumni. He's Pablo Touring and he
is a contributor to Pardon the interruption, of course, Pablo
Tory finds out Metal Arc Media podcast. He took time
out from Bill Belichick to spend a little time with
the NFL, and now I want you to dumb this
(03:38):
down though, Pablo. Okay, and just so our audience knows
exactly what the NFL are they guilty of or being
accused of.
Speaker 7 (03:49):
They are being accused of quite a bit. They are guilty,
and that is i'll use that word sort of conversationally here. Okay,
they were found by the arbitrator to have attempted to
collude with the thirty two NFL teams. We have extensive
documentation now, by the way, hello, thank you for having me.
This is a sixty one page document that has been
(04:10):
suppressed by both the league, the owners, and the union,
in which there's a treasure trove, Dan. And there's just
one bit of vocabulary that I want to do at
the top, which is expedited discovery.
Speaker 5 (04:22):
What does this means.
Speaker 7 (04:23):
It means that you get all of the texts, the emails,
the documents, the private messages.
Speaker 4 (04:30):
The slide shows all of the secret.
Speaker 7 (04:32):
Stuff from owners, players, agents, executives.
Speaker 4 (04:38):
It's the treasure trove.
Speaker 7 (04:39):
And so the question of there's a treasure trove, there's
a finding that the NFL encouraged the owners to collude
to prevent the next Deshaun Watson contract. They'll recall that
was fully guaranteed unprecedented. They wanted to stop Lamar Jackson,
Russell Wilson, Kyler Murray that same summer of twenty two.
Speaker 6 (05:00):
They wanted to.
Speaker 4 (05:01):
Stop that from happening.
Speaker 7 (05:02):
So into all of this, I guess I walk in
and I'm like, oh, man, I think I can get
this document. And I now have a sense of why
the union and the league neither side wanted this out there.
And that was the question, why haven't we heard about this? Well,
there's a lot deeper here that explains that too.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
Okay, but do you need to have a slideshow sent
out a memo to not be stupid like the Cleveland
Browns were with Deshaun Watson.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
Well, it's a great question.
Speaker 7 (05:32):
And so despite that, despite what seems obvious, Roger Goodell,
in repeated emails with Jeff Pass General counsel, had this
exact conversation, we need to make sure that they don't
do this. And so there's this thing called the NFL
Management Council, Dan, and this is a shadowy entity that
I didn't understand before I reported this story. But at
(05:54):
the league annual meetings. All right, I'll set the scene.
It's Palm Beach, it's a big conference room into the
walk the three two owners and the representatives. At the
front of the room are the head and the executives
in charge of the NFL MC, And there's a slideshow presentation,
and in the slides there is written off to the
side for the presenters to see the results of these
(06:17):
emails that Roger Goodell.
Speaker 4 (06:19):
Had written back and forth with Jeff Pash in which
they wanted to spare no.
Speaker 7 (06:24):
Ambiguity as to the fact that this would be a
problem if anybody else did this.
Speaker 4 (06:29):
So it's a great question, a horrible contract.
Speaker 7 (06:32):
We laughed at it at the time, and yet it's
so symptomatic of the level of control and cohesion when
it comes to why they didn't want to even allow.
Speaker 4 (06:42):
The possibility that someone would.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
Be dumb enough to do this. Again, did teams collude
or was the NFL asking them to collude?
Speaker 7 (06:54):
That is the key distinction that the arbitrator drew is
that the NFL encouraged them to do it. Here are
the documents, Here are the emails. But they didn't have
admissions on the record, and certainly they had denials from
the eight NFL owners that they had witness testimony from
that they again spoiler alert, that they did not sign
(07:16):
another Deshaun Watson style contract. Right, there were never guarantees
like that again, but the arbitrator could not prove that
that was because the NFL had encouraged them. What we
did see though, in these documents, it's just over and
over again private text messages between the owner of the
Cardinals and the owner of the Chargers, in which they
are celebrating how Kyler Murray's contract was going to be
(07:39):
not guaranteed and how in fact, as Michael Bidwill, the
owner of the Cardinals, says, I it does quote this
gets a text message from Dean spanos Ian. Spanos says,
congratulations on signing Murray. Michael Bidwill says, thanks, Dino. These
QB deals are expensive, but we limited the fully guaranteed money,
have some pretty good language. Thankfully have a QB that's
(08:00):
worth paying. Spano says in response, your deal helps us
for our quarterback next year. And so look, everybody, Dan.
The thing I'm struck by, right is you go through
all of this, and there's so many.
Speaker 4 (08:12):
Examples like this.
Speaker 7 (08:13):
You have the Broncos owners deliberating internally their internal messages
in which they are saying we're not going to give
Russell Wilson the guaranteed deal that he wants. Of course
we're not, even though he's demanding it. We have Lamar
Jackson the backstory of that deal, right, We have texts
from Lamar messages saying to the Ravens, I want a
fully guaranteed deal in all caps. We now know, by
(08:34):
the way, that thanks to this document, after they, of
course non exclusively franchise tagged him, that was their solution.
That he got zero offers from other teams.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
Zero the MVP zero.
Speaker 7 (08:47):
And so the question you ask yourself is, Okay, why
was any of the encouragement in that NFLMC meeting responsible
for it? The arbitrator could not publicly, certainly publicly but
not privately feel comfortable ruling it was because of the
of the league's guidance, and so many things can be true.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
Why would the players Association be in cahoots with this
since they would want their players to be paid as
much as possible, that's the best question, right.
Speaker 7 (09:18):
So the NFLPA sources at the union have always you know,
they've dreamed of this, right, because in this document it's
not merely the Mike Florios of the world who are
yelling about this and saying this is how they're like backstage.
Speaker 4 (09:32):
Trust me, you see it in four K quality.
Speaker 7 (09:35):
It's been described to me this document as a holy
grail for the union, and so why did they not
want this out there? A couple of reasons, but I
think the best summary to dumb it down for everybody,
because there's a lot here, is that the NFL Players
Association has been the product of a regime change after
(09:57):
Demorris Smith, their executive director, in which J. C. Tredder,
former Brown's Center, became the NFLPA president two term president.
But this same month of March twenty twenty two, by
the way, he got cut from the Browns. Simultaneously, d
Smith that same month, March twenty twenty two, says, Okay,
(10:18):
I guess I'm on the way out.
Speaker 8 (10:19):
J C.
Speaker 7 (10:20):
Tretder decides I'm going to run this search in a
very confidential, secret way. It's going to result in this
new guy, Lloyd Howell, the new executive director of the union.
Which is all to say that when it comes to
why the union didn't act, you look to J. C. Tretder,
you look to Lloyd Howell. There's a lot there in
those two guys that's in this story, in this episode.
But they did not want this released in part because J. C.
(10:44):
Tredder in the document is referenced privately trashing Russell Wilson,
blaming him Russell Wilson for not getting the fully guaranteed
contract that everybody wanted him to get. To your point,
of course, you want the full guarantees. You see, Traider,
president of the Union, is privately insulting Russell Wilson, saying
(11:04):
that he is the reason why we're never going to
get the full guarantees again effectively. And so, if you're
the president of the union who wants to be the
next executive director of the union to replace the guy
you handpicked to replace DEEE Smith, this is something that
looks terrible I have been told. And so again, cover up.
(11:24):
You could argue. As much as these infractions these I
want to say crimes for legal reasons, but as much
as these missteps and embarrassing things are bad, the cover
up dam that's always worse, right, And the question of
why didn't you hear it's about self interest from individuals.
Speaker 4 (11:41):
Instead of the collective good of.
Speaker 7 (11:43):
The players and the Union, which is why this is
such an insanely interesting story.
Speaker 6 (11:47):
To me.
Speaker 2 (11:48):
Before I let you go any updates on Bill Belichick
and his girlfriend, I was hoping you would ask.
Speaker 5 (11:58):
Yeah, I continue to report that too.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
It's funny. It's funny.
Speaker 7 (12:02):
I don't have anything to break with you exclusively other
than to say that I got some stuff cooking. As
much as people think that I've become a real journalist
because of this NFLPA story, Nope, I'm still in the mud, Dan.
I look forward to calling you from the mud, hopefully
sooner rather than later.
Speaker 2 (12:23):
Will he coach opening week at North Carolina? I believe
he will.
Speaker 7 (12:29):
I's at the line number of seasons at North Carolina
one and a half, one oh one.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
I would say one. He's one and done.
Speaker 7 (12:39):
I think he's one and done personally, personally, okay, you know, yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
Oh boy, I'll wait. I'll wait for the mud. Thank you, Pablo.
Speaker 4 (12:53):
I don't sling it.
Speaker 7 (12:54):
I just wade through it. To be clear, I'm not
a mud slinger. I'm just a mud I'm like a catfit. Okay, now,
all right, Pablo Tory. Pablo Tory finds out you can
find that podcast. It's Metal Arc Media. Yeah, I was
going to set it at one and a half, but
that's the case. He's taken the under with Bill. Yeah,
(13:17):
this stuff with the NFL is kind of fascinating that
it was available to find out. That's how Florio and
Pablo found this out. And I mean, it's clearly collusion.
But why would you go to great detail? As he
talked about the ambiguity, we can't have any ambiguity here.
(13:38):
This has to be And they also point out that
none of the networks that carry NFL games are covering this.
Everybody's going, dude, do nothing here. But why would you
go to great detail to tell owners not to be stupid?
Like Jimmy Haslam in Cleveland?
Speaker 2 (13:57):
Do you need to really tell these guys not to
be stupid and don't do a paper trail? How about
a face to face conversation, not a slide show. But
do I need to tell these guys?
Speaker 6 (14:12):
Hey?
Speaker 2 (14:13):
I remember there was one owner livid with the Browns
when has them signed up Deshaun Watson. But as I
told the owner, I said, this guy had to he
had to bribe him to play for the Cleveland Browns
baggage and all you gave him a two hundred and
thirty million dollar guaranteed deal. But that's overlooking a whole lot,
(14:39):
and you're hoping, hoping that somehow he's able to play
like he did when he got to the Houston Texas.
But he'll never play again, certainly not for the Browns.
But that's pretty wild. The cover up. You know, I
can go back to the commissioner and somebody in the
(15:00):
office saying it wasn't what Tom Brady did. It was
the cover up and lying to the commissioner. You got
to you know, do you have a cover up here?
And are you lying about this? I know they don't
play by the same rules. Yes, pun it.
Speaker 5 (15:16):
Feels like the Shawn Watson's been off the map forever.
Four years ago he was a starter. He had forty
eight hundred yards for Houston, thirty three touchdowns, seven picks.
He's twenty five years old, he's entering his prime and
those are all pro stats. Like where is he his
last three seasons in Cleveland seven touchdowns, five picks, seven touchdowns,
(15:39):
four picks, five touchdowns, three picks, nine and ten as
a starter?
Speaker 2 (15:44):
Yeah, I had somebody with the brown saying that he
was afraid to run again, like he wasn't going to
be what made him a really good quarterback in Houston. Yes, seen, he's.
Speaker 9 (15:55):
Having like a similar career arc somehow to like Ben Simmons.
Speaker 2 (15:59):
Yeah, but but DeShawn had a career like Ben Simmons
did too. He won the d Yeah, okay, Yeah, Deshaun
played at a really high level. Ben never played at
a high level. He couldn't shoot, but he was a
good passer and a really good defensive player.
Speaker 9 (16:20):
He was what was thought to be a key piece
of a building. Yes he was dominance, yes sixers team. Yeah,
but Ben didn't do anything wrong. He just didn't want
to play. Yeah, pulling.
Speaker 5 (16:34):
I see what Seton's saying though, because if you go
back to twenty twenty, twenty twenty one, same year as
Deshaun Watson, Now he wasn't a superstar, but Ben Simmons
at age twenty four was averaging fifteen points, seven and
rebounds and seven assists a game and two steals. Yeah
you would take that for the duration.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
Yeah, I guess when you lump him into Deshaun Watson.
But you know Ben didn't do anything off the course. Yes,
it's amples. Yeah, so I that maybe that's where but.
Speaker 5 (17:01):
A career that was cooking. That just is not even close. Yeah,
it's not like it cooled off. I mean Ben Simmons
last year played in eighteen games. He started zero.
Speaker 2 (17:13):
Yeah, this is where you're trying to understand if you
really want to be great or you just get paid
and then you know, and I know he had injuries,
but do you want to be great? You can still
recover from these injuries. Hey, there have been some really
serious injuries and guys have at least tried to come back.
(17:34):
I just don't know Ben loves playing basketball. You know,
I've said this before. There are people really good at
certain things. That doesn't mean they love what they're really
good at doing.
Speaker 6 (17:46):
Yes, and basketball, more than any other sport, is a
genetic sport. So if you're six' nine, man somebody get
him a, Basketball Like i'm not sure if he loves.
It so like, baseball baseball more is you love the.
Game but, football if you're a big, guy if you're
six three two forty man gave him some shoulder. Pads
(18:07):
so it was probably a lot of those. Guys i'm
sure there's tons of guys that are seven feet tall
that Played division ONE nba Even, yeah, like you know,
What i'm tall and let's make some.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
Money how About Ben Simmons Angel reese shooting contest at
The All Star oh now.
Speaker 6 (18:23):
That's not that's not.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
Nice what's what's the line you had? Seating all? Right
do you want to say this? Line, well it's not my.
Speaker 9 (18:30):
Line somebody said it somewhere on social media about it
was something along the lines of, like if you Put
Angel reese in a gym by herself to shoot a thousand,
shots she'd have five points and nine hundred.
Speaker 5 (18:40):
Rebounds well compared To, ben she'll attempt. Shots yeah he stopped.
Speaker 2 (18:45):
Shooting oh, Yeah, yeah she gets inside by the, hoop
she's probably gonna put up three or four to. Her.
Yeah ben doesn't even take the. Shot, yeah she would
shoot a, thousand she would make five and miss and
have nine hund ninety. Five that's mean. Spirited take a.
Break we're back after.

Speaker 1 (19:44):
Podcast he's still.
Speaker 2 (19:45):
Moving didn't THINK i was going to be talking about The,
nuggets but when the son of the, Owner Josh, CRONKEY
i don't Know josh's official, title is he a governor
or president of basketball. Operations but he was meeting with
the media and was not provoked to talk About joker
(20:06):
and his future with the, team AND i Just i'm
listening to. It and as soon AS i heard, IT
i heard the clip AND i said To, MARVIN i
got to put that in, context like what was asked
prior to? That And marvin, SAID i think it was
About Contavious, Caldwell pope or somebody like, that AND i, go,
(20:26):
wait he went from that to. THIS i think that for.
Speaker 12 (20:33):
Us as an, organization going into that second apron is
not necessarily something that we're scared. OF i think that
there are rules around it that we needed to be
very careful of with our injury. History the wrong person
gets injured and very quickly you're into scenario where THAT
i never want to have to. Contemplate and at the
trade number, fifteen you, know we're very conscious of that
pushing forward and you, know providing the resources that we
(20:54):
can when the moment. Arrives but that second apron is
it a hard? Cap i'm not a one hundred Per i'm,
sure but it's something that teams are obviously very aware
of going.
Speaker 2 (21:04):
Forward, okay you don't want to think about, this but
you're talking about, this the second. Apron i'm not quite
sure exactly what it is yet part of your? Job
and how could you get to the point where you
would Trade Nikola jokic unless it's he wants this and
(21:27):
we want to give him this now we can't afford
to get him a supporting. Cast THAT'S i, mean this
doesn't feel like it's. Random this feels like this was
brought up for a. Reason, now whatever that, reason. IS
i can only, speculate but INITIALLY i thought he's sending
a message to the. Joker he's, saying you want. Support
(21:51):
when they lost TO, okac he, realized, okay see had
a better, team a deeper, team took him to seven.
Games but he add some, comments and maybe this is ownership,
saying all, right you can help. Us you can sign
a three year. EXTENSION i don't know the exact numbers,
here but you know the three year. Extension do you
(22:12):
have the three year and the four year? Numbers?
Speaker 5 (22:14):
Paul, yeah three years would be like two hundred and
ten million dollars around seventy seventy.
Speaker 2 (22:18):
Plus, okay and then the other one's a four year.
Deal that one might be for a little over three hundred.
Million does that sound about? Right maybe three thirteen, checking.
Okay Josh cronky is the president and governor of The
denver Nug governor, governor so. Governor but, yeah it just
(22:40):
kind of surprised. Me, yeah, Poet but to be fair.
Speaker 5 (22:43):
To, HIM i know you don't say it out. Loud
shouldn't all these teams think about even having the best
player On, earth considering trading the best player On? Earth
timing with. Contracts for, example if you ran The Pittsburgh,
PIRATES i would suggest that they Trade Paul skeins, early not.
Late they're going nowhere With Paul. Skins he's, young, hot, exciting.
(23:06):
Cheap but if they trade him a year earlier than they,
should they could probably get a lot more for. Him
the biggest trade in recent. History and even a guy
Like jokic you got five the past five, years he's
been the best player On earth or.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
Second, yeah but With paul's, Schemes i'm going to use
him as long AS i. Can BUT i, SEE i
think that's The he's still going to be great NOW
i can when he. PITCHES i don't know what the attendance,
is BUT i like NOW i have an identity at
least for my, franchise And i'd pitch him as much
as possible until we get to the trade deadline when
(23:42):
his contract is going to run, out and then maybe
you do. That you have a bidding war, here, Yes,
Ton and how do you.
Speaker 11 (23:49):
Expect your fan base the support a. Team as soon
as you have anyone that's great or remotely, good you're
immediately going to get rid of them for prospects to
save a buck what does that say to anyone that
wants to.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
Fan you're a pirate, fan you can't be surprised at.
This if you're A reds, fan you can't be surprised at.
This there's certain franchises where you, go he's gonna look
really good in A yankee uniform or A dodger. Uniform it's,
unfortunate but baseball created, this and there are markets that
can keep, up try to keep, up and then there
(24:19):
are other ones that just. Can't they get high draft,
picks they develop the, player and then they ship them.
Off it's, Like, hey we're gonna put you through high,
school but you're gonna go to college and grad school
and we're going to get your doctorate someplace. Else, YEAH.
Speaker 5 (24:34):
Pauli but going back to the, JOKER i wonder if
they look at him and may say, themselves we got
his best. Work we're gonna pay for his gradual, downslide
and we're gonna pay. Double so we maybe shop him
now when there's max value for him and put together
An Oklahoma city type franchise where we're gonna build with
fifteen draft picks over the next.
Speaker 2 (24:55):
Whatever if you're confident that the people know what they're
doing with the draft. Pick, Right Sam presty is one of.
One what he did With okac is one of. ONE
i WOULD i would, say, hey well Trade. Joker we
Want Sam, presty and we would like to Have Jaalen,
williams and we would like to have some draft picks here.
Speaker 5 (25:16):
As A gm ever been traded?
Speaker 2 (25:18):
For coaches, have? Right, oh, yeah coaches Have, YEAH nfl,
coaches that's. HAPPENED i don't. KNOW i don't, well The
knicks we're trying to trade For Jason, kidd but, Yeah
Brooklyn nets have five first round. Picks that doesn't mean
(25:39):
they know what they're going to do with them or
they're going to be any good at assessing the? Talent, Yes,
Mark with The?
Speaker 6 (25:44):
Nets who do you put on the media? Guide just
one of the draft?
Speaker 2 (25:49):
PICKS i would put like Former nets greats on? There
who is the next to join the greats who have
played for The, nets.
Speaker 6 (25:59):
Like Buck williams And Kenyon martin.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
And Drawsen, Petrovitch Garrick, Coleman Jason. Kidd you put put
all of the former. Greats who is the next to
join this? List?
Speaker 8 (26:15):
Man?
Speaker 2 (26:18):
Yes? Martin just the worst?
Speaker 6 (26:19):
Franchise are they the most.
Speaker 2 (26:22):
Irrelevant, yeah they're up. There, yeah you just.
Speaker 6 (26:28):
Like they're.
Speaker 2 (26:28):
Apathetic that's the. Thing you just go. Like it doesn't
even really elicit a response when somebody, goes, Hey Brooklyn
nets and you go, like you're ey, kg doesn't you
know it doesn't move just like. Flatlining, yes, YES i.
Speaker 9 (26:45):
See and it feels like just because of the Way
brooklyn has changed over the last twenty eight to thirty,
years you're never going to get an authentic fan. Base,
yeah that's, fair never gonna. Happen that's really the main
problem is that people who are From brooklyn probably left
a long time.
Speaker 2 (26:59):
Ago, yes Boll and the.
Speaker 5 (27:01):
Opposite when The nets were In New, jersey you had
to make a trip to go see. Them wherever you,
lived it was not easy to get to A nets.
GAME i went to a couple and it was it
was like MOVING i, Had you, know.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
Do you really have to? Plan you? Know you know,
accordingly if you're going to go to A nets game
at Brendan Burn, arena you're going through The Lincoln tunnel
and then they got on them here and they've been,
uh you go there and you're, like.
Speaker 5 (27:27):
Why AM i?
Speaker 9 (27:27):
Here unless you lived In New. Jersey, yeah and then
it was, okay, yeah.
Speaker 2 (27:33):
Fair but being a basketball, FAN i was In New
york And i'd see the news because it.
Speaker 9 (27:39):
Was cool when you could just drive north up The
parkway or The turnpike and go see. Them, yeah now
you got to drive Through New York city to get To,
brooklyn which no one's.
Speaker 2 (27:49):

SEATON i got him at the right time before he
moved up To Ladder. There paully was kind of a
free agent AND i was able to get him as,
well but, no he wanted to.
Speaker 2 (29:00):

wanted to, do AND i wanted to have, friends AND
i wanted to be able to do it Where i'm
not doing a rundown of things that you got to
check off a list AT espn LIKE i. Did so
it was three. Years the only reason why we moved
out of my attic was because in the association WHERE i,
live they said you can't run a, business and we.
(29:47):
Scrambled i'm at my local. Bar the guy who ran
the bar. GOES i got space. Upstairs i'm With paulie drinking,

not like somebody's going to, go, Man i'd love to join.
Speaker 3 (30:08):
You.
Speaker 2 (30:08):
Now HAVE i thought about other women being? Involved Julie
Stewart binks was somebody THAT i thought of great respect
for her and her sense of humor and, timing and
she would have fit right. In BUT i had to
be fair to the people who were. Involved marvin was,
here like why why SHOULD i look out outside WHEN
(30:29):
i should be fair to the people? Inside AND i
was looking outside and see it and goes why Not?
Marvin AND i go, Yeah and then that was, It
like there wasn't any, hey we got to sit her,
hang what do you guys think your?
Speaker 6 (30:46):
Nay it was just.
Speaker 2 (30:48):
Yes and then we just Put marvin. In we knew
he knew, sports he knew the, show had a sense of,
humor and he'd just fit right. In so that THAT'S i,
mean that's as far as we've. Gotten we don't replace anybody.
Here this is you. Know McLevin left because he wanted
to have a job closer to home with his two,
(31:08):
daughters And marvin was. Perfect, now so that's the beauty of,
This dylan answered. Phones, now you know he's doing a
variety of things, Here, marvin help with the build of this.
Building answered. Phones now he's doing, this like that's WHAT i.
Love you earn that opportunity to move. Up so HAVE

as we. Got All, right we'll take a. Break you're still,

round of applause From.
Speaker 5 (31:49):

Speaker 2 (32:02):
Same it does sound golf. Clappish.
Speaker 9 (32:06):
There you're welcome By, yes thank.
Speaker 2 (32:09):
You seaton is the one who said what About, Marvin
AND i was, like oh, yeah, sure BUT i have
to make it so we did think of, you not
like an, afterthought which is what it was. LIKE i
don't know who do we replace mcleven with all these
people people are texting me and obviously, goes how About?
Speaker 9 (32:29):
MARVIN i, go, okay it's kind of, like how about
we don't replace. Mcleven i'll just jump in his chair
and Then marvin can replace.
Speaker 2 (32:34):
Me, yes Because seaton said he didn't want you to replace,
McLevin and then maybe people would there be a backlash
with that That seatan was going to be replacing. McLevin
you were Replacing. Seaton so how about you Give seaton
a round of?
Speaker 6 (32:48):

Speaker 1 (32:56):
Tomorrow right after, this be sure to catch the live
edition Of The Dan Patrick show weekdays at nine Am
eastern six Am pacific On Fox Sports radio and The iHeartRadio.
Speaker 2 (33:08):
App if you combine his careers with, Baseball Major League,
baseball and The Nippon Professional Baseball, league Sho Heu tani
now has three hundred career home. Runs stall of A,
Day stall.
Speaker 4 (33:26):
Of a, day statuta, day stant outa.
Speaker 2 (33:29):
Day this is the stant of The, day brought to
you By Pena. America did they do? That with each
row with the number of hits he, has and if
you combine what he did In japan with The United STATES,
mlb does he have more hits career wise Than Pete rose?
Does AND i don't know if they did. THAT i don't,
(33:52):
Know LIKE, ABA nba is a little. Different but and you,
know combining those numbers with The japanese league IN, mlb, Yes,
PAULING i have.
Speaker 5 (34:02):
Each hero with three, thousand eighty nine hits IN mlb
and twelve hundred and seventy eight in the the other,
league The japanese, league.
Speaker 2 (34:14):
So he would have more hits career Than Pete.
Speaker 5 (34:16):
ROSE i have him four three hundred and sixty.
Speaker 2 (34:18):
Seven, okay so he'd be the all, Time but we
don't do. That baseball has not combined. Those but they
got around to combining THE aba and THE nba, numbers
didn't They.
Speaker 5 (34:30):
They are technically separated when you look at them ON Nba. Reference,
yeah they. Are they give you different LISTS, NBA, NBA, ABA.
Aba they're not.
Speaker 2 (34:40):
Combined But baseball did combine The negro league stats just
for OR i don't know if they're combining them because
most of those players didn't get the opportunity to play
In Major League. Baseball Like Josh gibson didn't get to
play In Major league. Baseball Satchel page. Did Larry dobe.
Speaker 6 (35:01):
Did.
Speaker 2 (35:01):
Yes point similar to.
Speaker 5 (35:02):
THE, aba the knee re league statistics are in THE
mlb record books, now but they are given a different
like a, page their own.
Speaker 2 (35:10):
Page all, right THE Nba draft coming up. Tonight by the,
Way fritzy does scoreboard every day on this program where
he puts up a, scoreboard has some numbers, there and
then it's something that happened this day in. HISTORY i
was in the back and the vrg's are always, gossiping
AND i was told by one of the brgs that
sometimes they make up names of people who win. Scoreboard
(35:34):
that's very disheartening if that's. Accurate, yes, WELL i think
what happens is maybe your clues are very, difficult so
it might be a testament to you that they want
to make it seem like somebody knew they run your wavelength.
Speaker 11 (35:47):
There so, Yeah neil And connecticut seems to win ninety
five percent of the, time AND i got all excited
that there's A peyton And Grand rapids we've. NOW i
don't know if that person actually.
Speaker 2 (35:56):
Exists peyton And Grand rapids. DOES i Believe neil And connecticut.
Does but once again brg's are spilling some tea back
there and saying that not every day does somebody.
Speaker 11 (36:08):
Win i'd rather than just say there was no winner.
Today and so, Yeah fred From, Alhambroo, California.
Speaker 9 (36:13):
Yes, seed is that because the hints are so difficult
to lack of?
Speaker 2 (36:17):
Interest, well you.
Speaker 11 (36:18):
Guys do call it the, snoreboard so there may be
something to.
Speaker 2 (36:21):
There, Okay But paulie does this day in sports, history
and then you did this, scoreboard which is this day
in sports. History SO i do often go to the
state in.
Speaker 6 (36:31):
Sports so you do.
Speaker 2 (36:32):
That right BEFORE i could go TO pauli right now
this day in sports. History you hijack. That, YES i
think that's a little unfair To. Todd the Reason todd
does the snoreboard is Because paul used to yell at
him for not doing. It todd used to do it
off air just for, fun And paul would make all
of these snarky comments that Only paul could, make being, like.
Speaker 6 (36:50):
You, know it'd be great.
Speaker 9 (36:51):
Content what if we had content once in a. While
that would be nice for?
Speaker 7 (36:54):
Me.
Speaker 9 (36:54):
Todd, okay so Now todd does do it on, air
and Now paul's upset That todd does it on air
because he's hijacking his own segment and.
Speaker 5 (37:00):
He forced him to do whilst a fair and correct
point by. Season the original snoreboard By prince he was
little plays on. Numbers it wasn't sports.
Speaker 2 (37:08):
History like, well he loves his. Numerology, yes there's more.
Speaker 5 (37:11):
Numerology, Okay Babe ruth had eleven hits and.
Speaker 2 (37:14):
On the eleventh day of the eleventh. Month, oh that's
the difference between that and sports. History Babe. Ruth numbers
now normally was. Understood normally What todd does is he
incorporates music in his. Snoreboard i'll try to.
Speaker 11 (37:25):
Put some pop culture in, there a movie premiere or
A jersey number as opposed to a.
Speaker 6 (37:29):
Year there's other. Things it's not all, that but there
is a lot of this state in.
Speaker 2 (37:32):
History you, know we took all the, time so we
can't do this day in sports history, CALLS i, mean, sorry.
Speaker 9 (37:39):
Didn't we just do it in This oh, wait yeah
that was, Yeah tim.
Speaker 11 (37:44):
Duncan and call at any towns draft it on this
date in sports history ninety seven and twenty.
Speaker 2 (37:48):
Fifteen but you missed nineteen seventy.
Speaker 6 (37:50):
Nine, WELL i can only do two. Things it's only
two numbers on the.
Speaker 2 (37:52):
SCOREBOARD i, knew but you could have put thirty two on.
Speaker 11 (37:55):
THERE i did have twenty one and thirty TWO i
got and. Cat that's ALL i could. FIT i had
to pick two.
Speaker 2 (38:03):
Things if you have something. Else lakers Took Magic johnson
with the first pick seventy.
Speaker 6 (38:07):
Nine i'm not put.
Speaker 2 (38:08):
Magic kind of a big. Deal kind of a big.
Deal let me, see uh see anything else this day
in sports? History, yeah you're doing, This dan. SPORTS i
JUST i just took. It So todd does.
Speaker 9 (38:27):
It then you'll throw To paul to do, it and
then you'll wrap Up paul's part with doing more of
this day in sports.
Speaker 2 (38:32):
History, yes so we have three people doing one job
that none of us really want to. Do that's the
show in a nutshot Create, yeah thank you To let's
play The Cooper flag.
Speaker 5 (38:45):
Game, yep we've been waiting for this for a, Year, Dan,
okay what player comp will happen When Cooper flag is picked? Tonight?
Speaker 2 (38:53):
