Speaker 1 (00:00):
You are listening to the Dan Patrick Show on Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Oh, Happy Turkey Day, buddy s. What's up? Can you
ho ho ho?

Speaker 3 (00:12):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (00:12):
You got the hosts, you got all the fix, got
all the fixes, the smell of the fixes in the air.
Always happy to be here in for Dan Patrick. We're
live from the Fox Sports Radio Studio CNR Covino and
Rich on FSR, and you can watch the show at
YouTube dot com slash at Covino and Rich FSR.

Speaker 4 (00:32):
Buddy spot makes it a TV show. He's on the
videos Covino and Rich FSSR. And speaking of TV shows,
speaking of movies, that's what we're getting into now, family
friendly things you could watch after the games.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
You've already denied love. Actually, you make it seem like
it's why do you always try to to sham that
trash movie into the conversation. It's a holiday classic, it's
number one of my list, Sundy classic.

Speaker 4 (00:59):
It's the weakest movie and there's a porn storyline.

Speaker 5 (01:02):
Yeah that is.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
How does that applying this in this specific conversation, Like
we're not even talking like, hey, what's your favorite holiday movie?
We're saying family friendly and you still have to bring
this trashy movie. He stinks. Number one. Number two, how
do you explain to the kids in the family that
they're making porn in the movie? How do you do that?

(01:25):
Please tell them just cover their eyes for five seconds.
That's that's fine. Do you think that's family friendly?

Speaker 4 (01:31):
You think your aunt Sharon is like cool with this,
like watching this together as a family.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
It's weird. That's the opposite of family friendly. Even in
this conversation where we're specifically trying to leave that out,
you find a way to wedge in the weakest movie ever.
That movie stinks to the high heavens. Love actually, love
actually stinks. So think about it. Of course you got
the you's got fuckers lions, Because that's not the point

(01:56):
of the conversation. What are you gonna watch some corny
crap like March of the Wooden so or something that's
a great movie. Maybe you should check it out history. Well,
I'll tell you what. It wasn't on my list, but
it should be. That's one of my favorites, Marsha. That
wouldn't sell me his family friendly old timy times.

Speaker 4 (02:12):
Hey, by the way, guide, that's because I have a list,
so I have some answers.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
And I have my my own personal number one. Now,
before you go over this whack ass list of yours,
can we agree on one thing before football games are
gonna be amazing? That that all the games are going
to be awesome, And on one other thing as well. Sure,
you want your food to be suckling, suckle it, suckle it.
You want to you know, you know what you want

(02:36):
to eat. You want to eat, you want to eat.
Thanksgiving Dinner with Jameis Winston. Listen to this guy describe
his Thanksgiving Man.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
My wife, man, she makes some kale collar greens. Some
she got a look. You know, her family from New Orleans.
So she makes a nice.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Creole dressing all creole.

Speaker 5 (02:55):
It's unbelievable.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
Uh. One of her cousins and aunties. She always ship
us some gun both for us to start off today
with some gumbo gumbo apps. So man, it's it's a
beautiful thing. Taysom Hill put me on this. On this turkey.
I'm not a particular a ham person, but Taysom Hill
put me on this.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Uncle Ray's turkey. Uncle Race shift is turkey right to yo?

Speaker 3 (03:14):
Do you popped that thing in the oven and I'm
talking about it is suckolent.

Speaker 5 (03:18):
That thing is juicy.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
It is spicy.

Speaker 5 (03:21):
Oh my god, it's amazing.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Oh man, man, I want something suckling.

Speaker 5 (03:24):
Sucking Man, you gotta hit the te.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
When I have a Mom's turkey there, I'm like, this
is you know what I thought?

Speaker 5 (03:33):
It was the coolest part of that, Like, you know,
he's he's so fun to listen to.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
He's like the greatest personality football. Last week, we made
the point on our afternoon show that like, if you're
gonna lose, lose with Jameis Winston because he just seems
like such a great dude. I took out of that
that not only does he have a suckling Thanksgiving dinner,
Taysom Hill just a guy he met along the way
when he was in New Orleans. Here's a guy that
turned him onto a turkey and he gives them props Like,
I don't know, Jameis Winston just seems like a dude

(03:59):
you want to hang with. Huh Ah. He's great. No,
I love it. I love everything he said. It got
me excited. So when you're done with sucklin' turkey, what
are you watching in Turkey?

Speaker 4 (04:07):
When you've done Packers, Lions, Chiefs, Cowboys, Bengals, Ravens.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
What are the family friendly safe movies for all? You know,
he's talking about his aunties.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
You think his auntie wants to sit to a sex
scene in love? Actually, that's awkward. Didn't your wife also
just hit you up about this recently?

Speaker 2 (04:24):
She did.

Speaker 5 (04:25):
Yeah, the other night she mentioned her mom was going
to be around on Friday, and she's like, what movie
can we put on that will entertain everyone? But it's
okay with everyone? Uh, normally we go with Home Alone
right off the bat during the holiday season.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
A great story in the news yesterday.

Speaker 5 (04:40):
Yeah, I sent it to you.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
Yeah, there's a story that's been floating around, Thank you, Danny,
where Kevin McAlister McCaulay Culkin's kids love Home Alone, but
they've yet to connect the dots that that's Dad.

Speaker 4 (04:55):
Well, they said that looks like him, but they haven't
really figured it out yet. Yeah, because they've seen pictures
Dad when he was younger, but they don't know that.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
And they tell him you look like Kevin from Humblone,
but he still is like, yeah, I guess I do.
His very cool love Humblone, but don't realize Dad is
Kevin it's so funny. Yeah, really funny stuff.

Speaker 5 (05:13):
And then rich one that will make all of us
like grateful for what we have with our families. We
play this every holiday season. It's underrated, the family man.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Oh with Nick Cage.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
Yeah, oh dude, that's a great, great example. It's a
great suggestion. But now we open it up to the
Fox Sports Radio Nation. We're gonna talk some fights in
football if.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
We have time. There's still lots of show to get to,
but let's try to have a nice day where everyone
could get along. Right after football, what are we watching
eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox Beat Dial and
hit us up at Covino and Rich on social media
or our live YouTube chat. Because Becker before said, well,
it doesn't have to be a movie. He said, Nate
Bargates he very family friendly comedian that everybody can enjoy.

(05:54):
I want to throw a few other names into that
mix a little bit. And if I'm leaving anybody out
by all means, when I think of family friendly comedians,
I think of Fluffy for the Vatos locals. Fluffy's very
family friendly nowadays, Maz Grabrani. He brings that Middle Eastern
sort of family funny vibe there Sebastian Maniscalco. You mentioned before,
little edgy, but always family friendly for the most part,

(06:15):
family oriented and like we said, Nate Bargatesei, I am
dB put a list out, rich. Do you want me
just to run through them real quick? Of the top
family friendly movies now, like right now?

Speaker 3 (06:28):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (06:29):
I mean if and then if you want to if
you want to watch the lame mass movies. God Daaln's here, dude,
isn't that the point? What edgy movie are you watching?
What Uncle Frank and the little kids and your nieces
and nephews. Do you want to watch some R rated movie?
I don't get it. Isn't that the whole point? So

(06:49):
that means your pornographic movie called love actually, which sucks anyway,
doesn't apply in this conversation. I got, I got, I
got one. It just it just started streaming on Netflix
and they're new to Netflix. As far as holiday classics
available on Netflix right now is Daddy's Home and Daddy's
Home too. You just took my number one answer. I serious,

(07:12):
completely vouched for those.

Speaker 4 (07:13):
Yeah, but you don't think if you know your cage
battle tested, they're battle tested. I watched these on the
on eggshells with my mom because again she she could
ruin the holiday, meaning if we put something on and
let's say there's a booby scene or there's a curse
word or like something.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
Of vulgarity, but your mom's okay with it with Daddy's Home.
Huh Okay, she loved it.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
So I will say that is my personal number one
right now because the Christmas season has begun. Like I said,
I saw Santa Claus at the Thanksgiving Day parade. I'm sorry,
sorry I said your number one answer.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
I didn't. I thought that would be a little too
much for the Caveno Conservative Health battle Tested.

Speaker 4 (07:54):
So I was sort of on eggshells, like I said,
And my mom loved it.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
That's O Farrell, Mark Wahlberg.

Speaker 4 (08:02):
John Cena, John Lithgow like it hits every pocket of
every generation of fun and funny. Daddy's Hole might be
the most underrated. It didn't make this IMDb list, but
I think it might be my personal number one.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
And how many are there three? Number one or two?

Speaker 5 (08:19):
Right agree?

Speaker 2 (08:21):
That might be my number one and two answer because
they're so funny and underrated and they're not played out,
and they're really good. If you haven't seen the Daddy's Homes.
They're great. But according to IMDb, as far as family friendly,
I'm just I'm not saying I agree with these. I'm
just saying I'm throwing it out there because this is
what I'm saying. Coven at number ten, Elf undeniable, right Helf?

(08:41):
Come on?

Speaker 3 (08:41):
Yeh.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
I recently I recently saw Will Ferrell, who we've had
on the show. Will's a great guy. You know. They
gave him a script for ELF two and they he
said it was gonna be like the biggest payday of
his career. But he's like, he just said no, and
he's made some movies that are a little questionable. He
said he just wanted to leave ELF alone. The script

(09:02):
wasn't strong enough, and he's like, yeah, I just didn't
didn't feel right doing it.

Speaker 5 (09:05):
So yeah, that was.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
Yeah, it's actually refreshing, like leave the classic and let
it be. They said, listen, big money, big money, and
somebody will ruin it down the line. Rich. Now, again,
I don't agree with these because a lot of these
are too kitty, too cartoony. But Zuotopia's number nine, according
to IMDb, Rich one of your kid's favorite movies. Is

(09:26):
on the list K Pop Demon Hunters. They made the
Thanksgiving Day parade today and maybe like there's a curiosity
for the Sultings. I don't know why it's so popped up.
The soundtrack. The kids love the music. The music is
really catchy, but the movie itself stinks. If you live
in the mom or dad life, like I have an
eight year old and a five year old, I think

(09:47):
the movie sucks. The music, however, the music curious though.
The music Golden and Soda Pop and all those, they're
all catchy songs. But the movie itself, you would turn
it off in ten minutes.

Speaker 4 (09:58):
Coming in at number seven, Spider Harrison Danny g said
at Home Alone nineteen ninety classic, family friendly, great movie,
you know, and there's a lot of there's a debate
in itself that the second one's better.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
Yeah, that's like my that's like my hot take that
I feel like no one really agrees with me on
I love Lost in New York. I just think there's
such a such a good feeling the weird bird lady
in the park just in New York sort of like
a character in the movie.

Speaker 5 (10:23):
I think that makes that one creepy.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
Yeah, I like it. I like it, you know, fuddy.

Speaker 4 (10:27):
Yeah, there's look, Christmas movies are going to be a
go to because it's Thanksgiving.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
It starts now you're allowed to you do you. You
don't judge anyone at this point. Moving from this day on,
you could decorate and no one's gonna judge you.

Speaker 4 (10:40):
No, So I think they totally apply to this conversation.
And that's why I find it odd you think Love
actually is even a Christmas movie. It's the weakest movie.
Freaky Your Friday makes the list at number six. It's
new people remember the old one. Maybe that's when you
could rally around with the family. Mowana the live action
at number five. I don't know about that. In your dreams,

(11:01):
never heard of it? At number four, z Utopia to
at number three, the Family Plan to Never heard of It,
and Wicked for Good. Maybe you go to the theater
and enjoy that. Maybe you do that as a family.
I'm actually doing that tomorrow with the family. So that's
what I AMDB is saying. But Rich you already said
my number one Daddy's Home. I think is the sleeper

(11:24):
here that you got to check out if you haven't.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
Yeah, I think, uh, I think as much as you
want to be family friendly, I think this is the
day you push it. Kids have to accept you wanted
to watch what you want to watch. It's why they
get a little taste of like, oh, you mean the
full day of football wasn't enough, dead Dike?

Speaker 5 (11:43):
You know, Yeah, we're talking when football is over.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
Yeah, I feel like I don't want to cave to
my kids every day in my life. It's not even
the kids. What about Grandma's there or something right like?
I mean, that's what I'm saying. This is mixed company. Yeah,
my family is not prudes like yours.

Speaker 4 (11:57):
Yeah, but guess what not every family is like you're
I hate out of your families, say yours like to me.
But I don't think it's appropriate to watch some of
these movies around children either.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
It's really funny, though I know, I think it's an
underrated Christmas movie adults.

Speaker 4 (12:09):
I don't care about rich. If you're gonna be offended
and you're an adult, that's on you. You're a weirdo.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
I get it.

Speaker 4 (12:13):
But there's also kids there and other people's kids. You
don't make the call on what's appropriate for other people's kids.
I'm sorry to break the news to you, it's your house,
it's your dojo's your castle, your mojo, casa, dojo, house,
whatever you call it.

Speaker 2 (12:26):
But that doesn't give you the right to put porn
on porn. Yes, there's porn in love Actually no, no, no.
For other people's kids to say, it's no, no, no, no, yes, okay,
there's ny Is there not nudity in it? Are they
not filming a porn scene? In that scene, I think
there's like a left boob and that screams like, let's
celebrate the Christmas season? Do you want to putensel on?

(12:50):
It sounds festive? I got a movie, underrated movie. You're
gonna say it's too youre gonna say it's rated R
and no thanks. I think it's great. Sought last year
for the first time in like maybe five plus years,
but I think it's got to be an annual watch
for Christmas. Is Vince Vaughan and Reese Witherspoon.

Speaker 4 (13:09):
See Now this is funny because there's a part of
me like, yeah, that's a good movie.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
But now I have to I'm thinking, like, is there
a scene? See that's the thing.

Speaker 4 (13:17):
You don't want to get caught off guard, right because
you're thinking, yeah, that's that's safe.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
But is it? And then all of a sudden, like
you're watching with your mom and there's like a weird
sexual scene. I know. So is there a scene in
that movie that I'm not thinking.

Speaker 4 (13:29):
Of and forgetting that could really, you know, start an
argument and make things uncomfortable.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
Let's say, how to John and Mayne, what's up John Maine?

Speaker 6 (13:39):
Hey, guys hit me?

Speaker 2 (13:40):
Thanksgiving back at you man, thanks for chiming In What's Up?

Speaker 6 (13:44):
Miracle? It shows guys after they have their Neil and
stuff kids, they go out and play hockey. But when
I was a kid, it was always, you know, go
out play football. But it's Sam friendly. It's got everything sports.

Speaker 2 (14:03):
I know how I know. You know how I know
because it's on Disney plus two, right, so you could
stream that Disney.

Speaker 4 (14:09):
There's a good chances Family friendly. There's a lot of
those Mighty Ducks movies.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
I'll give you one, Mighty Mighty Ducks, which Kamino has
never seen. I've never seen it. I'll give you one
that was a sleeper because I had not watched it
when I was a kid. But my kids love it.
I think because it is football, it's Thanksgiving. You love
Ed O'Neill, You love Rick moranis if you want to
go old school with the kiddos. If your kids have
never seen Little Giants, You've been buzzing about this ever

(14:35):
since you've seen it. I've never seen it because I missed.
I missed it as a kid.

Speaker 4 (14:39):
And yeah, maybe that that sounds like a good one
and appropriate for to day, right, And I get it.
You're an adult. You want to watch what you want
to watch. But today you got family over. That's what
makes it different. And that one's fool proof. That one's
a totally appropriate movie for today that I think everybody
probably would like.

Speaker 2 (14:57):
Plain Trains, Plane Trains, and Automobiles is to be on
most people's list because it's the It's considered the one
real Thanksgiving movie.

Speaker 4 (15:04):
Hold on, dude, do you know that we played the
opening scene or the scene with Steve with Steve Martin
when he's getting his rental car. Yeah, we played that
on our Patreon yesterday. Yeah, you realize how vulgar that
scene is, right when other mixed company are around.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
My mom was so off by that. Hold On, Steve Martin,
he says, and nephews were in the room, they're little kids, dude,
and they're watching our show, and we played that clip.
I don't think you realize how many F bombs are
dropped in that scene. I think you're I think you're
very conservative in your waists or you're just extra liberal

(15:44):
about what's okay for little kids to hear on the holidays.
My kids know what bad words are. They just knowing
not to say. You know my kids. My kids think stupid.
It's a bad word, Like you said the steroid. I'm like,
did I guess, dude, as much as we're adults, as
much as I love and loved when I was younger
playing trains and automobiles, you think that's appropriate for little
kids to see Steve Martin and who and if you

(16:07):
you can't recall Steve Martin being that vulgar watch that
around kids. You know why you were? You know why
you were like like obsessed with boobs when you're like
when I first met you, you.

Speaker 4 (16:17):
Were a prone called being respect you are other people say,
g might be stopping by, You're gonna say what's okay
for his kids to.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
See and hear? Listen, Cod just got off the boob recently, right,
so he's.

Speaker 5 (16:30):
He's like a parrot. Though.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
He repeats everything, but I will, I will, I will
say though I said the other.

Speaker 5 (16:34):
Day I said son of a biscuit because I'm always
trying to edit myself, and he repeated that. I'm like, yeah,
I know.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
I'm like, you know, you know, I just feel like
you you shelter your kids too much and to become
you know the name dude. That's a total conversation for
another day. This is a very specific conversation. It seems
like you have no gauge. I don't think. I don't
think I did. Maybe the Wild Man, I'm the point
is like, yeah, that's a great movie, but hold on

(17:01):
because that might offend somebody. You got mixed company at
the house.

Speaker 3 (17:05):
Man.

Speaker 5 (17:05):
If Rich had been my dad, I could have watched
Bachelor Party when I was like, yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
You know, hey, son put on a wedding crashes that
I'm five? Who cares? All?

Speaker 7 (17:14):
Right?

Speaker 2 (17:14):
Uh? Sean and Sacramento, My dude, what's up? Sean? Happy Thanksgiving?

Speaker 8 (17:19):
Yo, Happy Thanksgiving to my tire rack pack Man. Blessed
to hear y'all this morning.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
Man.

Speaker 8 (17:24):
Thankful for live radio, y'all fellows, always pulling that double
shit for DP man.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
Yo, thank you man. Yoah Sean, thank you man. We
got to hang when we're in Sacramento. We got to
meet Sean. What's up man?

Speaker 8 (17:34):
Hey, next time you guys are out here for an
A's game instead of just watching the as what my
thirty points come out here? Man, we'll go to a couple.

Speaker 9 (17:40):
Of gentlemen's club, get a couple of shots, do our thing.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
But on it, I mean, I will Cavino seems like
that's not up his alley. Cavino go to church.

Speaker 4 (17:47):
Sean sewn Sean hold on Rich is a total bonehead.

Speaker 2 (17:51):
I love him.

Speaker 4 (17:52):
And that's the beauty of sports too, right, because sports
it's a safe space everybody can watch and enjoy. And
that's what we're excited about the football games. But do
you think we could play the car Rental scene here
on Fox Sports Radio? From playing Trains Automobiles? Can we
play that scene on Fox Sports Radio? The answer is no,
you know why, because it's not appropriate.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
You go ahead, I'm with.

Speaker 8 (18:13):
You, Covino. Look, I grew up in a super Catholic household.
So we had two different piles, man, the teenage room
pile where you all in there and you watch your portees,
your show girls, whatever the teenage kids an older kid
want to watch. And then on the other side, everything
you guys already named man.

Speaker 9 (18:28):
Home Alone, Home Alone two. You might even throw in
a little bit of it, maybe soul Food, a nice
little family movie where all the aunties, the theos, everybody
that's over the age of forty en up who clutches
their pearls every time they see a little left boom.

Speaker 2 (18:42):
Yeah over there, man, And that's my mind. You nailed it, dude.
And by the way, this might be a conversation that
exposes that your gauge may be totally off. Rich Davis,
I think it is. I think my gauge is off.
I think it is, too.

Speaker 4 (18:57):
And that doesn't mean that every adult listening wants to
watch some kiddy Mowanna live action movie. But you have
to keep in mind that certain things aren't appropriate for
the kids, or or you're.

Speaker 2 (19:09):
Aumpty evan in La Los Angeles. What's up, buddy? Heay?
Happy Thanksgiving? Guys? That catch man? What's up?

Speaker 5 (19:18):
I want to say, love actually sucks?

Speaker 2 (19:21):
So boring you in Coveno goes No, I can't think
of things that slave halfway through every time I try
to watch you and can you and Coveno, well.

Speaker 9 (19:32):
No, Covino needs to like lighten up, like cause come.

Speaker 8 (19:36):
A little side move.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
I I grew up with Fast Sign's Bridge Mount High
and watching all this in ros Rito like.

Speaker 9 (19:42):
I won't do you think I care?

Speaker 2 (19:43):
I don't care that we work for Maxim Rady. We
were Maxim guys. We had we were not.

Speaker 7 (19:49):
Watched Bachelor Party for Danny when.

Speaker 5 (19:52):
I was eight years old.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
Yeah, that's funny. Same. But my go through Christmas movie
is Christmas Vacation, like our holiday movies National Lampoon's Christmasification.
It's a classic classic. I mean the Clark Griswold flipping
out about the Jelly of the Month club. I mean
know you're gonna cover your ears on that one or what.

Speaker 4 (20:11):
He could make some people uncomfortable, dude, But no me personally, bro, No,
not at all. Boobs are are aokay for this guy,
but around mom and grandma and other kids and things
like that. That's why we're having this conversation.

Speaker 5 (20:27):
You guys are only talking about side boobs. But what
about like the science fiction fans out there, because trust me,
there are a lot of households where violence is the
thing because violence. Yeah, my stepdad would try to play
like Predator and movies like that because he'd loved those
kind of movies, right, and my mom would always be like,
Dak can't be on when there's kids running around there.

Speaker 2 (20:48):
I think I'll be honest. I think violence bothers me
in front of my kids more than vulgarity and like dirtiness.
To be honest, I see that I'll be honest, like
like a sexy and my kids, my kids will be
embarrassing cover their eyes like one of the jokes my
wife and I have will be like, hey, kids when
they look over my wife and I give each other
a quick kiss and they're like ew. Like, I think

(21:10):
your kids will like cover their eyes and feel embarrassed violence.
When I remember taking my kids to Minecraft this year
and I felt Minecraft like I felt Minecraft was a
little violent, and I'm though prude with that stuff, but
I'm like, this is pretty violent. Meanwhile, people were saying
there was like a sex scene in Wicked. I don't
even I didn't even notice what they're talking about. So

(21:31):
I guess everyone's got their own gauge, right, right, So
we'll wrap it up with your feedback and phone calls.
Family friendly or appropriate movies to watch after your footballs
Thanksgiving time, So a lot of holiday movies, maybe sports
related movies, maybe some Disney type of movie, but you know,
we don't want to disney it up too much. Your
thoughts eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox Covino and

(21:52):
rich In for DP and of course we still got
to talk if we have time.

Speaker 4 (21:57):
Rich Something that Jim weel Pochio said about it is
that Okay, so there's a there's a podcast story. I
know you wanted to touch on Anthony Davis. There's a
big is it a revenge game?

Speaker 5 (22:07):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (22:07):
Yeah, you know what, I have lots to get to this.
There's a big NBA game on Black Friday that I
think we should all be talking about a little bit.
So we'll talk a little NBA and let's see. Let's
see how smart you guys are. Let's let's go over
our picks for Thursday and Friday. Four games, four really
good games today and tomorrow. What do you think is
gonna happen? Let's parlay it up. We'll do that all

Larry Covino and Rich on Fox Sports Radio. We're on
five to seven Monday through Friday, Covino and Rich Everything
at Covino and Rich and we're streaming live on YouTube.
Covino and Rich FSR over forty years.

Speaker 2 (23:45):
I'm just going to ignore like one of the best
Christmas songs in the background from Love. Actually, you have
no gauge, you have nast. Do you know what naste is?
What's naste? No taste? For over forty years, Tyrack's been
helping customers five the right tires for how, what and
where they drive. Ship Fast and free back by free Road.

Speaker 4 (24:01):
Has a protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire
installation tire rack dot Comedy tire buying should be like
the fact that you think this is a good movie
says it all. You have great sports takes, you have
great fandom. You're a great guy when it comes to
movie and music. Oo oo, we're wrapping up the conversation.

(24:22):
Oh is that why you do that?

Speaker 2 (24:24):
You just did that read because you don't think people
will trust my reads because I have such bad takes.
You know, if you think certain things are appropriate, you're
you're wrong. For this particular day and mixed company. What
movies are you watching after the football games? If you
go to our live chat Rich Covino on urch FSR
on YouTube, this nails it k Munch k Munch twenty

(24:46):
two says, you know, we tend to forget some things
are as bad as they are, you're used to seeing
them on cable or you're just watching them by yourself.
When you see through the eyes of other people, mixed
company and children, you realize that some of these things
are inappropriate, right, So that's kind of what we're getting
at here, Like Becker says, I watched Spaceballs with my

(25:07):
nine year old daughter.

Speaker 4 (25:08):
I forgot how vulgar that movie is. Like you, as
an adult, you don't care. We watch things, we love it,
but when you see kids react. So we're trying to
figure out and wrap up this conversation of well, what's
safe for everybody? I give them in a crider, Green says,
how about Nightmare Before Christmas?

Speaker 2 (25:23):
There you go, like, now you're on the right page.
You know, I'm not gonna argue you on holiday family favorites,
but every movie that's old school is gonna feel a
little inappropriate, right, It's going to a great example. How
about you Goonies with the kids? I forgot that the

(25:44):
movie starts with one of the Fortelly's fake hanging himself.
I'm like, oh, and then you know they dropped the
statue and the penis breaks off, like there's little parts
of even goonies where I'm like, oh, oh wait, it's
gonna happen. Dude, your kids, you know you can't cover
their eyes for everything.

Speaker 4 (26:00):
True, agreed, but you can try your best to avoid
these uncomfortable situation.

Speaker 2 (26:06):
Enjoy your enjoy yours. You want to have a smooth day.

Speaker 4 (26:10):
You don't wanna You're uh, you know, grabbing her purse
and storming out the house with her kids because you
decided to put Lisa, says Borat. She said one time
her drunk uncles put Bora on and thought it was
appropriate for the family.

Speaker 2 (26:24):
Not all right, it's not say how to Diane in Kansas,
and we'll move on. We'll talk to more NFL. Of course,
big NBA game tomorrow, I know we got to talk about.
So Diane, what's up, buddy?

Speaker 7 (26:35):
Hey, hey guys, Happy Thanksgiving? Goay, and I gotta I
gotta throw a go pack in here just for two cents, Okay,
so go pack go?

Speaker 2 (26:45):
Can it be a good game?

Speaker 9 (26:47):
That's right?

Speaker 7 (26:47):
When I was a grandkid, this is my viewpoint. We're going.
We're talking way way old school white Christmas. You guys
even know that movie sounds right too.

Speaker 2 (26:58):
But Rich doesn't know. Rich doesn't like any old school
movies at all. No, I know, I like, It's a
Wonderful Life is the only old school movie that I've acknowledged.
But you know what, Diane, that's that's on me. I
just I can't get past the old school stuff. But
Cavino and his mom will certainly love to watch white
Christmas together.

Speaker 4 (27:15):
I bet not, dude, not necessarily me. Yeah, I'm just
trying to like not have any family fights.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
Rich.

Speaker 5 (27:21):
You can't get past black and white films. We've talked
about this before. There's too much storyline, there's it's it's
a film, it's not a movie. It doesn't move fast enough.

Speaker 3 (27:32):
Bro.

Speaker 2 (27:32):
There's like four movies that are made before nineteen eighty
that I acknowledge, Rocky, The Godfather, Jaws, and Star Wars.
I guess right like this before.

Speaker 4 (27:45):
Before, and by the way, those are all fun movies
you can watch day if you want.

Speaker 2 (27:49):
But I'm just minus to God, but I'm saying, like,
I don't you have them old school movies. Other than
It's a Wonderful Life. I feel like any old like
when you when you say something like miracle on thirty
fourth Street, I'm like, it's a miracle if I could
stay awake.

Speaker 4 (28:04):
Watching the All Right, Well, hey guys, we did our
best to give you some ideas. You could chime in
at Covino and Rich anytime on social media. We appreciate it,
and believe me, I'm not trying to sound like missus Grundy.

Speaker 2 (28:17):
I'm not trying to be a prude here.

Speaker 4 (28:19):
It's a holiday in this mixed company and we're trying
to have a great day.

Speaker 2 (28:23):
Now.

Speaker 4 (28:23):
Yes, there's some great football, but Rich Black Friday game.
Of course, there's a great football game tomorrow too, but
you realize that on Amazon MAVs at the Lakers.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
Dude, MAVs at the Lakers, And I believe a d says,
you know a game I want to play?

Speaker 4 (28:42):
Is this guy big dreaming or what is the athy
ever gonna live up to his half of the bargain
of the trade.

Speaker 5 (28:48):
Here, this kind of tells you everything you need to know.
They're not sure if he's healthy enough to go. So,
I mean, let's been the rap on this guy his
entire career.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
So I'm gonna say that his narrative like his narrative,
I'll answer the question. Everything about ad in that statement
could be done. Though Danny's right, it defines him. It's
like he wants to go, but he just can't, you know,
like he just and he.

Speaker 5 (29:12):
May and he may go, but he's not going to
be one hundred percent.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
Yeah, Look, do we like Ad? Do we root for him?
Did we feel like he got hosed with that trade
out of nowhere?

Speaker 4 (29:23):
Absolutely? Like I love the guy. I think he's great.
But when you compare him at thirty two and Luca
at twenty six, it's just the biggest night and day comparison,
especially the way Luca got slim and trim in the
way he's playing with the Lakers. There's no chance ever
that Ad lives up to this part of the trade,
to this part of the bark because he's thirty two.

(29:44):
He might as well be sixty two the health wise,
you know, in the way he's playing.

Speaker 5 (29:49):
So you know what's not you know what's ironic is
that what was the narrative on Luca when he.

Speaker 2 (29:56):
Was dealt He was fat shade?

Speaker 5 (29:58):
Yes, he always coming out from somebody inside the Lakers
organization saying that they were down on Anthony Davis, not
only for the comments he made publicly about how the
team needed to get a true center. So that he
could move away permanently from that position. But they said
the last couple of seasons he was with the Lakers,
he was not working as hard, he wasn't the first

(30:19):
and last into the training facility any longer, that he
was just kind of flying by, and that he was
out out of shape basically, So why did Nico Harrison
in the MAVs trade one problem for another?

Speaker 2 (30:32):
I mean, look at the MAVs. I mean Nico Harrison
later to you, I mean he paid the price, lost
his gig Mavericks are the second worst team. I know
it's early, they're five and fourteen. They have to go
on a they have to go on a ten game
run to be over five hundred like they I just
wonder if Anthony Davis ever wins there. I mean, he's

(30:56):
not young, but he's not old. Like he's in that
pocket where it's like he's still you know, he's it
might have.

Speaker 4 (31:00):
Another unhealthy So the thirty two feels it feels older
than it.

Speaker 2 (31:03):
Shields, like, I know, he feels like an older thirty two.
It feels like got to wear and tear. He feels
like an older wide receiver running back where he's not
that old but he's old.

Speaker 4 (31:11):
So we got you hype for today, let's just get
you hypeer real quick about tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (31:15):
Of course, Bears Eagles. We talked about that as and
it'd be great, But there's only the only hype for
tomorrow though, is if is if Anthony Games plays and
he plays well, and it's a game.

Speaker 5 (31:24):
You want to see Cooper flag And of course the
MAVs fans, well some of them will travel to LA
wearing their their MAVs Luca jersey. We've seen that, Yeah,
even at Laker home games in other road games, which
is crazy. But it's interesting with Anthony Davis because when
I say they traded one problem for another, what they
said they thought was a problem which actually wasn't. Maybe

(31:47):
Luca did need a little kick in the butt like
you saw from Reddick to get in better shape over
the offseason, But you're telling me that nobody in the
MAVs organization could do that in a productive way with Luca.

Speaker 4 (31:58):
I guess not. Maybe that's why Eco lost his job too.
I mean, he's clearly a bad move.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
But they're trying to market this as some sort of
like revenge game, and you're right, it's it's not if
he doesn't play, And is it really like, are they
even gonna compete with the Lakers tomorrow, Danny G I
don't think so, man, At the Lakers are hosting in
La No, I think the Lakers are gonna dominate this game,

(32:23):
especially if AD's not playing. What do you think the
what do you think the Vegas line is on the
game on we check Friday Black.

Speaker 5 (32:30):
Friday, Lakers by five or six? Maybe?

Speaker 2 (32:33):
Wow, that would be more than that. Lakers Lakers by
ten and a half. Wow, Okay, a double digit point spread.
Part of your NBA Cup group play?

Speaker 4 (32:42):
Yeah, their vibe and and you've got to realize Luca
wants to step it up.

Speaker 2 (32:45):
We're like, yeah, revenge game for Ad? Or how about
Luca wants to shove it in their face like extra
heart again? So yeah, and the way they're gelling like Michellan, Nah, man,
this is no revenge game. And I don't think and
I don't say this like with any sense of pride
or I don't think a d will ever live up
to that. It's unfair. You know, when you go through
a breakup, you know, I love to compare everything to relationships.

(33:09):
It's my crutch. I admit, but you know, I mean
life imitates sports. Sometimes I feel like sports and life
and relationships it's all really the same, right it is.
You know if you go through a breakup, right, and
that's essentially what a trade like that is. The Lakers,
you know, they broke up with Anthony Davis and the
what did the mav say, Luky too fat, We're not

(33:31):
dating you anymore. So you go through a quote breakup
and some people immediately you see him on Instagram they
got a new partner, new boyfriend or girlfriend. It's like,
oh my god, happier than I've ever been. And Luca
could Luca is that guy. Luke is the person that's like, Yo,
happier than I've ever been. He's with his new He's
with Austin Reeves and Lebron. It's like, man, Luca won

(33:54):
the breakup.

Speaker 5 (33:55):
First thing they usually do rich is get a new
gym pass.

Speaker 2 (33:57):
Oh yeah. And you know what Lukeyukad did exactly what
we all do after a breakup. He's dropping thirst traps
on social media. Luca, you know, per form of sixty
plus points tomorrow you'll see, I mean, Luca got in
shape post for a men's magazine and that was like
winning with his new girlfriend essentially singling and mingling. Yo,

(34:17):
So Luca won the breakup Anthony Davis this this might
not be the long term girlfriend in Dallas. Do we
think it's possible that in a year from now there's
a there's a trade, a new signing or something where
maybe Anthony Davis actually becomes a factor for another team.

(34:38):
That's more in contention, Like what if Anthony Davis is
the missing piece for someone else and then that's his
payoff like the next person. It'd be nice for him.

Speaker 4 (34:46):
And I do like his attitude too, that he wants
this game and he wants to play and you know
he's quoting talking a big game and hyping it up.

Speaker 2 (34:53):
I do love you. What what if his happy ending
is it? Is it with the new team?

Speaker 3 (35:01):
Now?

Speaker 7 (35:01):
What if?

Speaker 2 (35:02):
What if Anthony Davis in a year or so from
now is traded or there's like some type of move
made where.

Speaker 4 (35:07):
I've talked about there's there's rumors that they were thinking
and look, yeah therese were all the fake articles.

Speaker 2 (35:12):
I don't know, but there have been rumors of they
want edition.

Speaker 5 (35:15):
No, I don't yeah, I don't know to it what
we've been reading online is the MAVs aren't really into it,
but all these articles are coming out saying what are
the three best teams for ad to be traded. Here's
the question about Anthony Davis. Will he be fired up
the way Luca was during the offseason to truly get
into top athletic shape.

Speaker 2 (35:35):
I think if it's I think if it's not for
the Mavericks. Yes, I know that sounds like, you know,
you're pro, you should be fired up no matter where
you play. But I think if there was a situation
that Anthony Davis could be injected into where he's a
real factor for a team that has a chance, I
think the story's not written yet. I want to as

(35:56):
of right now, Luke that yeah, yeah, hey, your thoughts
on that? And you know we got when we go next.
Real quick thought on Manny Pakiao. His son Jim Well
Pacio makes his debut this weekend. We talked to him
about his dad about everything. So just a quick thought
about Pakiao and we'll do our picks for all the
sweet games today and tomorrow, Thanksgiving and Black Friday next

(36:20):
right here on Covino and Rich.

Speaker 1 (36:22):

Thankful for all the affiliates. Would be thankful, even more
thankful if we were on all the affiliates at our
normal time five to seven Covino and Rich you hear that, affiliates.
What's up, guys, five to seven on the East? Happy,
thank you, Giving, Yeah, we're in for the great Dan Patrick,
I'm Steve Cavino live in Union, New Jersey. For well,
for Thanksgiving, for the fan, oh, the rest of the crew,

(36:56):
Rich Davis, Danny g and Spotty and Rams everybody live
Fox Sports Radio Studio in LA. For over forty years,
tire Rack has been helping customers find the right tires
for how, what and where they drive. Ship Fast and
free back by free Road has a protection with convenient
installation options like mobile tire installation, Tirak dot Comedy tire
buying should be I now like stuffing into a turkey.
We have a lot to jam in real quick. So uh,

(37:19):
there's a many pakiel thought and I just want to
go over our picks for today. We talked to Jim
Well Pokio the son of many pac Man Pakil and
he makes his pro debut. The son of a legendary
boxer makes his debut this weekend, actually out here in California,
and we talked to him about his dad and whether

(37:39):
or not he thinks his dad should run it back
with Mayweather. There's rumor that it could be a big Netflix,
big money thing. Here's what Jim Well Paccio had to say.
A lot of rumors about your dad, Manny, and Floyd
Mayweather too, a lot of you know, you're on social media,
you have a big presence on social and in other ways,
rumors that you're concerned about that fighting again. Is that true? Yeah? Yeah.

Speaker 11 (38:03):
I mean he's turning forty seven this December, so you know,
like I love him and I've been watching him ever since,
and like, you know, I don't really want him to
take any more punishment. You know, he's He's accomplished a lot,
and I think his eighth division record is unbreakable, so
he's already done everything, you know.

Speaker 2 (38:21):
But he looks so good against Mario Barrios. Dude, I
watched it. I was in Mexico watching that fight, but
he looked really good. You wanted to end like that.
If you had your choice, Yeah.

Speaker 11 (38:32):
Yeah, if it was up to me, I would I
wouldn't want him to find anymore. But you know, if
he does decide to take one more, then you know
I'm here to support.

Speaker 4 (38:41):
That's Jim Weel Pokyah again fighting Brendan Lalley on ESPN
Plus this weekend, So check that out. He's talking about
Manny as if he's like one hundred and forty six. Yeah,
and he's only forty six years old. That's old in boxing.

Speaker 2 (38:53):
But yeah, I'll But by the way, that full interview
is on our Fox Sports Radio YouTube page, YouTube dot com,
slash at Kobe Know and Rich FSR where you can
watch us right now.

Speaker 3 (39:02):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (39:03):
It just does get you thinking, though, as your parents
get older, what do you not want to see them do?
I want to throw this out here as winter's hitting.
It was like recently, a couple of years ago, you
were on the East coast where you are now at
your parents' house, and I remember you saying, yeah, my
dad's outside shoveling snow. Your dad's like seventy and you
let him shovel snow. Yeah. Yeah, Well that's the question.

(39:23):
It's like, hey, do you want to keep him active? Right?

Speaker 4 (39:26):
And do you want to embarrass your your older relatives
like as if they can't do it anymore? Like I
don't know if that's in your place or for them
to figure it out on their.

Speaker 2 (39:34):
Own, or how about this? Do you still stop rad
if your parents are still around? Right?

Speaker 4 (39:39):
Be grateful and thankful thanksgiving. If you're blessed enough to
still have this situation. Do you let them flip the
bill if you happen to go out to dinner together
or do you say no, I got it because I'm
the I'm the man now, right, Like.

Speaker 2 (39:52):
I think it's nice to offer, but some don't. If
you if your parents insist, I think you let them.
But it's nice to, you know, pay it back and
pay for it a little bit if they were great
parents to you. But yeah, there are things like, for instance,
you get into a certain age. My dad had to
admit this to himself because my dad's an active guy,
plays tennis, golf, So my dad's a really active seventy
is year old guy. He went on Vikigo travels quite

(40:14):
a bit. One of the last times he was in
to Minica Republic or Aruba or something, he went snorkeling,
and he admits this someone had to jump in and
sort to help him, and he felt embarrassed, and he's like,
oh my snorkeling days are over. He's like, you know,
he goes, I test my limits and he's like, some
things you got to just say I'm done with. And
he's like scuba diving and snorkeling. He's like, it's not
a seventy year old man's game. Well, I think Jimwell

(40:36):
handles it perfectly. He's like, hey, he expresses how he
feels about it. But at the same time, if Manny
chooses to still do those things, he's like, I'm here
to support him. So it's a question they have to
ask yourself. Do you step in, do you man the
grill because you're an adult now and tell dad to
take a back seat. You know, if you're a woman,
do you tell mom I got the turkey? Or do
you let them still do what mom and dad still

(40:58):
want to do. Right, That's a good one because a
lot of times, a lot of times you want to
be like, listen, you don't have to host anymore. I'll
host mom. You're you know you're sixty or seventy. Why
are you going to slave over the oven in the kitchen,
my wife or my sister or I'll do it, someone
else will do it, But I don't know. Then, much
like someone that retires, then you feel like, well, what

(41:19):
do we do now? Wow? You just heard Lee Courso
the other day said since he's been off of college
football coverage, life sucks, like you know, so why I
let him live? If they can think about it.

Speaker 4 (41:30):
We talked to Jim Well about his fight this weekend
and a lot about Manny and Manny's future Over Promised
Episode one nineteen at Covino and Rich FSR.

Speaker 2 (41:38):
Now all my NFL picks, I got some great parlays
and teasers, all that great stuff. I call it great
stuff because it is on our bonus podcast Over Promised,
which is right there with that interview on the same
episode as our interview with Jim wellpociaw on our YouTube page.
Would love you to check that out. But I do
want to get your pick on one game, the one
that starts like in an hour. Do we like the

(41:59):
line packers? Where is your instinct? Because the loser, we
said it before the loser could see themselves out of
the playoff mix in a month from now. I'm going
Lions on this one, man. I think this is where
they turn.

Speaker 4 (42:09):
It around and we see how tough and ready the
Lions still are.

Speaker 2 (42:13):
They're not as Yeah, Josh Jacobs is back, right, Josh
Jacobs is healthy. So I'm going Packers. I think Packers
win and the Lions are in a really rough spot.

Speaker 5 (42:23):
Danny g thoughts really quick. I think the Lions are
going to handle it at home, all right.

Speaker 2 (42:27):
You guys got Lions. I got Packers, Ramsey, thank you, Spotty,
thank you. Have a happy Thanksgiving everyone at Cobe and
on rich Thanks to Letting Film for DP see you
in the Promised Land. Happy Thanksgiving,
