How the hell we feel in here on an extra
three hours arrest?
Speaker 3 (00:45):
Huh? Good morning?
Speaker 4 (00:46):
Yeah, I feel like amazing, although a little disappointed. The
Masters is already in a rain delays.
Speaker 5 (00:54):
Oh, come on, var Oh the rain delay for the mess.
Speaker 4 (01:00):
Is what I will say this though, If there's any
course that will make sure that they play and get
all these rounds of golf in it's augusta National, all right.
I did have the blessed opportunity of going and playing there,
and I'll never forget the morning when it was raining
and we were having breakfast, were like, oh no, I
might not get an opportunity to get out there. There
(01:22):
was a gentleman in a rain suit with a blower
while it was raining. That's great blowing the green, I.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
Want to say.
Speaker 4 (01:31):
I think it was on number nine and I was
like looking, I was looking thinking to myself, he does realize, like, it's.
Speaker 3 (01:36):
Just going to keep rating for at least in the
next thirty minutes.
Speaker 4 (01:38):
But that is how well manicured that course is and
how much they care about that thing.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
So they will play some golf today at some point
whenever it stops. Gosh, he was blowing it in the rain.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
I mean, what's you know Listen, you know it gives.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
Them less blow when it stops raining. You know. Yeah,
I think they don't want puddling. That's small.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Oh now I got to ask you because I have
not had the opportunity to go to Augusta National because
there's sort of a you know for people that don't know,
like there's kind of an elite class of people that
are allowed even on near the course. Like if I
walk near the course, I would get tased and hand
handcuffed and be told to go away. But Brady, you
go there and it's like, not only can you go,
(02:20):
you can play around of golf and don't worry about it.
Mother nature is going to acquiesce to you so you
can get your round of golf in. So does it
look as beautiful in person as it does? Maybe not
right now because it is raining, But does it look
as beautiful in person as it does on television? Because
on television, the way they dress it up, it looks magical.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
It actually looks better. It's even better than you could
imagine because everything on TV. You usually go there and
you think, okay, this is made for TV. There's gonna
be some defects. There's gonna be something. There is not
a weed that is anywhere on that course on top
for however many acres it is, there is not one
thing that's to place, not any mult pinestraw, nothing like.
(03:03):
That place is immaculate. I've never seen anything like that.
It doesn't feel like real life. And so once you
go there you can understand the hype and the reason
why everyone kind of used that place as so special.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
Just different. When I had that experience, that's it, none
of it all over.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
Hey, So when you're watching the bastards and you marry me,
none of it, none of it grabs you, and you go, man,
that's that's a beautiful place. I'd love to be there
because some of who yeah.
Speaker 5 (03:35):
Oh no, come on, I'm not even really I'm just
interjecting just to poke at at Q and sort of
count at.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
You as well, because all I have to do is say, Tiger,
what's back? He's back? What how's he back? It's right?
Speaker 5 (03:52):
Well, you know, tigers don't like water, so I don't
know how that's gonna play out. They just can swim.
They can swim. They just don't like ton Then now
they don't like it. They just you know, they can swim.
They just you know, cats, you know, they stay away
from the water, you know, but they can't swim.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
You know, what do you mean don't like water?
Speaker 3 (04:12):
Yeah, we're talking about they don't like water. They don't
excellent swimmers.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
And they didn't Tiger Woods say yesterday when we heard him,
And if you're wondering where you can hear us slapping
around here on Fox Sports Radio there normally six to
nine am Eastern Time, three to six am Pacific time.
It's two pros and a cup of Joe. That's where
you can find this show. But you know, we were
talking yesterday in that time slot about Tiger Woods. Wasn't
(04:37):
he saying that he wanted some humidity, he wanted some
warmer weather.
Speaker 5 (04:40):
Yeah, for forts joints. But but the rain isn't good
for your joints. That pools at your you know, at
your injuries. It's sore, real humid, it's it's sore.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
There's gonna be mosquitoes the size of seven forty seven zone.
Speaker 5 (04:54):
No, not at the Masters, it's too manicure. They'll blow
them bad boys right on off they do. Bet they
I bet they got like a mesquite mosquitoes just disappear.
Speaker 4 (05:06):
Yeah, something like the stick to you know, they got
Scottie on the s S Enterprise beaming them up.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
They out of there, straight to space.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
I would have loved to have been somebody working at
an ACE Hardware in southern California and they go, is
that LeVar Arrington? What's he doing in here? He's buying
a mosquito racket near the registered.
Speaker 5 (05:26):
Because that's the truth. That's the truth. And let me
tell you something about that. Oh I bangled banglem that. Listen,
you have not had a true experience until you have
zapped an insect. I'm just saying, and to all the
peed of people out there that want to protect the
(05:48):
insects and all that stuff, I will zap a bee's
ass too, just so you know, I'll knock them all down.
You come near me while I got my my swater,
my fly tocintegrator on. You're added here, I don't care.
I'll hit my kids with it. I'll try to take
them up out of it. I don't care if you
can get.
Speaker 4 (06:07):
Bugs, and I don't know I've ever seen him take
a strong stance against bugs.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
Who's that pete? I was just I was joking, I
hope not.
Speaker 5 (06:15):
I mean, you know, but some birds, uh, some some
insects have like fur on them, don't they like? What
about a hummingbird gets that's considered an insect?
Speaker 2 (06:25):
Isn't it a humming bird?
Speaker 3 (06:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (06:27):
I think it's a word bird.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
That's why they call it a humming bird.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
Yeah, I think the word bird kind of like veered
it towards the bird category.
Speaker 5 (06:34):
Well, since you guys want to be smart asses, you
know they call dolphins killer.
Speaker 3 (06:39):
Well, you know, Okay, relax, relax.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
Look, I'm just uh, you know, don't shoot the messengers.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
They do call them birds. You're a bird.
Speaker 4 (06:53):
I'm just excited for Tiging to be back. I'm rooting
for him, man, but I'm rooting for him.
Speaker 5 (06:58):
He looks strong, like he bends over slow and he
gets there eventually. But all the highlights that I've seen
of him, he looks real strong, real broad. He's he
fills out his outfit.
Speaker 3 (07:10):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 2 (07:11):
Is he still working? I mean, this is right here.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
Oh gonna die? We have waited to kill me in
hour three. We'll play this at your funeral, though.
Speaker 5 (07:23):
I hope you guys give give him a wonder. You
get my eulogy, and and they have this song on
while you're doing it. Like LeVar, he truly truly was
a good man that truly tru hated this song.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
Now, let me ask you a question. I'm assuming you
would want to.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
Be buried with the Tiger woods.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
Well, the hall of Fame ring, your college football hall
of Fame ring. Now do we also put the bugs
apple racket on the casket or.
Speaker 5 (07:55):
Insand it's a great question, man, that is a great question.
I almost feel like, you know, like in ancient times,
you know, like in Egypt when they used to mumfi
them and all that stuff, and they put the one
thing in their hand and then the other thing in
their other hand, and they crossed them up, and it's
like they had like a hulk like look and then
like a staff on one side, Like, just give me
(08:16):
two zappers, you know, you know, I'm to loss my
arms up, put the zappers in my hand, and like
this here lies a man that used to zap them.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
Yeah, you know, I have a question on this, and
I feel like you guys would be the experts to
go to on this. It's a question about mummies. If
you were gonna go to your final place all wrapped up,
wouldn't you want it to be in like some decent outfit.
Like if I'm gonna go wrapped up, like give me
like a nice leather jacket, good pair of jeans, some shoes,
(08:48):
and if you need to cover my face, give me
a ski mask. I don't want to be wrapped up
in one play toilet paper that somebody saved from COVID
so they could send me to my final place.
Speaker 5 (08:57):
I seem more comfortable though, I mean you to your
grave site in a in a herd leather jacket. I
mean that leather is gonna get a little bit like
kind of uncomfortable at some point while you're resting.
Speaker 2 (09:08):
Were talking about like those guys are still like from
rock bands from like from the sixties, they're still performing.
All those guys are in leather.
Speaker 5 (09:16):
How often do you go to sleep with your leather
leather jacket that you'd.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
Be wearing, and how much I drink?
Speaker 5 (09:23):
Being honest, Well, that well, if we're being honest, then
if I had a leather jacket on last night, I
may slur a couple of words. I've already heard three
words I've slurred. I may slur a word or two
today because I might still be a little hit I'm
just telling y'all how I got. I got hit up
last night. Stay college, baby, we are I got hit up?
Speaker 3 (09:46):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (09:46):
Can you explain to the Dan Patrick listeners who are
unaware of your location and why you were excited about
the later star time.
Speaker 5 (09:53):
Because I'm in State College, Pa, Mike people, and uh, well,
so I'm here. It's blue White weekend, it's spring football
going on, obviously, but I'm also here doing some nil
business hung out with the other sports teams with a
panel that I did last evening.
Speaker 3 (10:10):
It was awesome.
Speaker 5 (10:11):
It was great, and did a kind of like a
shark tank deal earlier yesterday and got those things out
of the way. But once I finished up that panel, guys,
it was LaVar Allen time and it went down.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
I didn't count. I didn't want to count. But they
you know, the.
Speaker 5 (10:30):
The fair here is improving tremendously, like we're updating so
much now.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
So I was eating oysters last.
Speaker 5 (10:39):
Night, man, I had I had, uh what what type
of baked chicken or like roasted chicken and mushroom risotto
with some asparagus and some oysters. And I didn't count
how many LaVar islands that I had. And that, my friends,
is why I sound the way that I sound. I mean,
(11:00):
I feel like I sound good, but I may What
a LeVar island is though, yeah, as well, it's a
it's a long island that you know, Kean and Jonas
named LeVar Island because well, that's my poison of choice.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
And for those of you don't know what a long
island is, just think about every alcohol ever created in
one glass at the time.
Speaker 3 (11:22):
LeVar doesn't know this, but here's what I do.
Speaker 4 (11:24):
When I do choose to go have a LeVar Island,
I will ask for it, and I may I have
to make sure they bring it out in a cold
mug or a cold glass. You know what I do
on the side of that glass, LeVar put in the sticks.
Speaker 2 (11:36):
Yeah, we'll shout out to Matt McGloin.
Speaker 5 (11:43):
Yeah, he's running for the Board of Trustees, is he?
The election is coming up, man, it should be interesting
and the real competitive around here to get on that
board to trust I'm.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
Just gonna say, I'm just wondering.
Speaker 4 (11:57):
But usually when you're on those boards, there comes a
significant donation or donations that have already been made that
helps helps the cause from getting Yeah.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
Yeah, you do.
Speaker 5 (12:08):
You do fund your your candidacy to get onto the
Board of Trustees, which, by the way, you don't get
paid to do. I pay attention to our Board of
Trustees politics, and if you ever want to be entertained,
just just find a way. I'll send you some links
and stuff so you could pay attention to it. But
(12:30):
it gets pretty interesting. I mean you would think that
there was it's right and left, you know, that's that's
going forward. Seats and well, I wouldn't say you wouldn't
think it's kind of what it is. It's interesting, you know.
It's very like game of throne ish around here.
Speaker 3 (12:46):
Yeah. Yeah, you could get it. You go running for
a board seat, a route you can get you can
get it.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
You can get that work.
Speaker 5 (12:53):
You get that work, man, it's a little competitive.
Speaker 3 (12:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
Well, listen, it is the Dan Patrick Show here on

(13:23):
You'll hear from him next here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (13:27):

Speaker 5 (13:38):
It's me three time pro bowler LeVar Rington, and I
couldn't be more excited to announce a podcast called Up
on Game?
Speaker 3 (13:45):
What is Up on Game?
Speaker 6 (13:46):
You assd along with my fellow pro bowler TJ. Huschman
Zada and Super Bowl champion. Yep, that's right, Plexico Burris.
You can only name a show with that type of
talent on it. Up on Game We're going to be
sharing our real life experiences loaded with teachable moments. Listen
to Up on Game with Me LeVar Arrington, TJ. Houschman Zada,
(14:09):
and Plexico Burrs on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcast, or
wherever you get your podcast from.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
It's the Dan Patrick Show here on Fox Sports Radio.
LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you in for
Dan and the guys here on FSR. So we are
going to have a discussion about one team that's making
life on themselves a little bit more difficult in the
world of football. That'll be yours here in about twenty
minutes from now. But here to make things easy on
us is the one and only Albert Breer, Senior NFL reporter,
(14:42):
lead content strategist at the MMQB. You can find them
on Twitter or x at Albert Breer AB. What's happening?
Good morning to you.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
It's up, ALBERTA.
Speaker 7 (14:50):
How we doing.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
We're just now, Albert, could you be trusted? Like if
they pulled you aside and said, hey, thinking about sending
you to Brazil for Week one, could you be could
you be trusted to be a professional while out in
Brazil covering Packers Eagles to kick off the season on
a Friday night.
Speaker 7 (15:09):
I'm pretty good at juggling different things. So yeah, I mean,
I think there's a relatively high percentage chance that I would
make it to the game on Friday night.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
Yeah, so you at least be to the get to
the game. That would be the that would be the goal,
and then we'll figure it out from there.
Speaker 7 (15:25):
I mean, although although I've heard I've heard uber rides
down there, it can take you to weird places. I
don't know if that's true or not that I've heard.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
Yeah, that's true.
Speaker 3 (15:32):
That's problematic, the type of places.
Speaker 5 (15:38):
You'd be something a little strange, for a little change,
weird or.
Speaker 3 (15:49):
So.
Speaker 2 (15:49):
We were talking about how there's a report out that
the Vikings have set up a private meeting with Jayden
Daniels and you know, now the commanders are meeting with
Drake May and JJ mccar and they're also meeting with
Jade and Daniels, and there's just like it feels like
this is a lot of the run of the mill
sort of stuff as we gear up for the draft
coming up here in a couple of weeks. But is
(16:10):
there a draft story out there, something that you've heard
or you've got any sort of intel on that you
look at and go, that's interesting that could have a
real impact near the top of the draft or even
in the first round.
Speaker 7 (16:24):
Yeah, I think the one thing that already has is
the Giants at least creating the perception that they're in
on the quarterbacks right now. Whether they are or not
remains to be seen, but like they're doing everything you
would do if you were going to take one, you know.
And so that's you know, they had McCarthy and may
n at the beginning of March, which is incredibly incredibly
early to be doing a thirty visit. Those normally happen
(16:46):
during April, like right around now, and they went and
worked a few of the guys out privately. They showed
up the pro days. So like, you know, least say,
the Giants have done all the things you would do
if you were going to take one in the top ten,
and you know, like that does two things. One and
prepares them if they are going to take one, but two,
(17:07):
they also has created this perception that they're the team
that you have to jump over to get one if
you want the fourth one. So you know, Minnesota, Vegas, Denver, like,
if one of those teams wants to go get the
fourth quarterback, now there's just a perception out there that
they have to get over the Giants to go get
that guy. Well could that be because that's what the
Giants want out there? And if the Giants want that
(17:29):
out there, well what would the effects be? The effects
would be that would guarantee either Malik Neighbors or Marvin
Harrison would fall into their lap of six. So you know, like,
I think that that's one of the interesting ones. I
just think Denver's lurking, Like I just like, you know,
they've been kind of quiet about their quarterback evaluation and
everything else. I just know this, like Sean Payton loved
(17:52):
Patrick Mahomes seven years ago and was very close to
getting and would have taken them eleventh. Overall, they wanted
Marshaun Bottimore in that spot.
Speaker 3 (17:59):
So a good player.
Speaker 7 (18:00):
But you know, obviously things probably go a lot differently
in New Orleans. If you know, Patrick Mahomes is on
the roster and maybe Sean Payton's still there, and so
does that linger with them? And if there is one
of these guys that he really likes, is he get
aggressive to go and get get him? You know, right
now they're starting quarterback Chared Sidham. I know, you know,
Sean feels like he could go out and play a
(18:21):
season with Jared Sidham if he needed to. I just
you know, there's a big part of me that wonders
that they got another swing in them somewhere at that position.
Speaker 4 (18:31):
What is the one thing you're keeping an eye on
right now, given it it's kind of that dead period
before we actually get to the draft. Is there any
potential trade, any potential signing or something that couldn't happen
that would change the landscape of what the draft looks
like up the end of the month.
Speaker 7 (18:48):
Yeah, I mean, I think the receivers, Brady, you know,
Brandon auk t Higgins. Now, like those guys aren't in
the block per se, but you know, teams are gonna
call and and see, you know, if if either of
those guys are available, you know, and I think in
both those cases. You know, for those teams, there's like
(19:08):
a big picture element. You know, they love the players,
but you know what what like if you pay T
Higgins at the top of the market, like, then you're
probably gonna have to pay Jamar Chase more than you
pay T. Higgins. And you've already got Joe Burrow and
they're fifty five million dollars per So we're talking about
between the three of them one hundred and ten million,
one hundred and twenty million per year, you know, and
(19:30):
that's just in one phase of the game that you're
investing at. You know, So can you do that if
you're Cincinnati long term? Or is it better to get
a second round pick for T. Higgins and then you know,
draft his replacement. You know that that's the question Brandon
and Yuk. Obviously, the Niners have a lot of mouths
to feed.
Speaker 3 (19:45):
You know.
Speaker 7 (19:45):
They paid Fred Warner, they paid Nick Bosa, they paid
Trevarius Ward, they paid Trent Williams, they paid Deebo Samuel
and George Kittle, they paid Christian McCaffrey. You know, so
you know, if you're looking at it and you know,
something's got to give over the next couple of years.
Would that something be, well, we've got a surplus at
receiver right now. You know, we've got Deebo Samuel there.
(20:06):
Kyle is really good at scouting and developing them. You know,
is that were you know, we you know, wind up
trying to save a little bit from a cash and
cap standpoint, So you know, those would be those would
be the guys. I think, like right now, I would
look at and say, if there's somebody that's going to
be moved or talked about being moved in the next
couple of weeks that could have materially affect things in
(20:29):
the draft, those those would be the guys. You know,
I think that those two guys, you know, again they're
not being shopped, but you know the Bengals and Niners
are certainly going any calls on them.
Speaker 5 (20:39):
AB can can you put us up to speed on
what's going on in Dallas? I mean hearing about there's
the possibility of a CD Lamb hold out looming. Yeah,
Michael Parsons, they're they're complaining about him and too many
people would be glad to see him go. This sounds
(21:02):
like horrible dysfunction if your two top players are in
the media for things like.
Speaker 7 (21:10):
This, Well it's Dallas, So I mean this function just
means that it's Thursday, right, Yeah, But I I uh,
you know, I like the way I look at this.
I think it's similar to what we just talked about
with Cincinnati, where there's like a contractual bottle neck coming right,
And the difference is that, you know, where the Bengals
(21:30):
have one of those guys taken care of, the Cowboys
has zero of their three. Right, So it's Dak, it's CD,
it's Micah Parsons. And you can say we can wait
for a year on Micah Parsons to pay him, But
is he going to be okay with that?
Speaker 3 (21:45):
Right?
Speaker 7 (21:45):
Like, I don't know, maybe he won't be, you know,
because of his value is what it is right now.
And Nick Bosa got thirty four million a year last year.
You know, does he want to strike while the iron's
hot and push for a deal now? You know obviously
Cebee lamb already waited a year, and you know if
you wait much longer, well, you know, justin Jefferson could
change the market at receiver, you know, and then how
(22:07):
do you compensate Dak? You know, based on where the
market went last year? Where Joe is making fifty five
million dollars a year. Now, do you go to sixty four?
Do you go to fifty six or fifty seven million?
Or do you do? You do you wait this one out?
There's a lot of big picture questions for the Cowboys
there at those positions, and you know, it's a it's
(22:29):
a credit to them like that they've been able to
identify and and and and and and have guys like
that home grown on their roster. But you know, in
some of these cases, waiting an extra year has sort
of created this situation where, now, how do you take
care of all these guys at once? I think it's
certainly going to be a talking point over the next
(22:49):
couple of months leading up to training camp.
Speaker 2 (22:52):
He's Alba Brier joining us here on Fox Sports Radio.
It's LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox in for Dan
Patrick and the guys here on Fire. I want to
ask you because I know obviously you're in and around
the area there, and I know you've been close to
the organization for a long time. In the Patriots, they're
sitting at three. What is the feeling as far as
(23:13):
what they do at that spot? Because if they don't
love the separation between the second and third best quarterbacks
potentially going at that point, is there a chance that
that's a team that could trade back because it feels
like they've got a lot to improve on the roster.
Speaker 7 (23:28):
Yes, I think they could trade back. I think it's
going to take a lot, though, So what's a lot?
You know, like if you look like so? The Niners
spent three first round picks to move from twelve to
three in twenty one. The Redskins did the same move
three first round picks to go from six to two
(23:50):
in twenty twelve. So I think that's the starting point
of any negotiation, especially for the teams that are coming
from a little further down, like the Vikings, say at eleven.
The one thing the Vikings have that those other teams
didn't have is they've got two first round picks this year,
so they can offer, you know, the Patriots eleven and
twenty three, you're gonna have you have certainty, you know
(24:12):
where those picks are, and those guys are going to
be on your roster this year and then Adam another
first round pick next year. So do Patriots think about that?
And beyond just that, do the Patriots not only think
about that, do they think about doing that trading down
and then trading back up if they really say, like
JJ McCarthy and you know, like they look at it
and say, okay, we want to We're gonna move down
(24:33):
and now we're going to try to move back up
to four or five. I think all these things are
in play with New England. And you know, I think
it's especially if here's them and you look at it
and you have like May and you you have May
and McCarthy close, Like if you think those two guys
and there's such vastly different prospects, but like if you
think that, if you think there's merit to taking either guy,
(24:55):
maybe you talk yourself into that, you know, where you
trade down and back up. They're a really interesting spot
because I think, I mean, we know Chicago is sticking
at one and taking Caleb, and I think ninety nine
percent the Commanders stick at too. I think it'll be Jaden.
I'm not ninety percent on that part of it, but
I'm almost certain they'll stay it too and take a quarterback.
(25:16):
So you know, being being the first team, you know,
in that upper group that's willing to move the pick
could give you a lot of bargaining.
Speaker 3 (25:23):
Power, Albert.
Speaker 4 (25:25):
You know, it's been a pretty soft, easy interview so far.
I figured i'd just kind of throw you a curve call.
Any thoughts on Aaron Rodgers and you know, the VP
nomination with Robert F. Kennedy one through or some of
the conspiracy theories, anything you got force there out You.
Speaker 2 (25:39):
Had any thoughts on UFOs or Area fifty one.
Speaker 7 (25:42):
Well, I wasn't Monday. Monday was a Monday was a
tough day for the flat earthers, wasn't it.
Speaker 2 (25:49):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. The eclipse kind of throws are.
Speaker 3 (25:53):
You justified the eclipse the right? I'm not sure.
Speaker 7 (25:56):
I'm not sure how you would explain that if you're
if you're if you're a flat earther. I mean, I
don't know if Hollywood has like some sort of curtains
or something like that that you can put over the sun. Yeah,
so I like that that would be my first thought,
just just you know, talking to what you guys were
talking about there. But uh, yeah, the the Aaron Rodgers
(26:17):
vice president presidential campaign didn't didn't last very long. I
will say that there might have been some jets for
people that were quietly pleased to see it end, but
I'm not sure that they would ever admit that.
Speaker 2 (26:32):
I mean, you know, and I would also.
Speaker 7 (26:35):
Say this, there were some people in Green Bay who
were entertained by it.
Speaker 2 (26:39):
Yeah, yeah, it does. It does feel like there's a
portion of the media, whether you know they want to
admit this or not, that is sort of rooting for
the Rogers experiment in New York to fail. Like it
does feel like that that there's kind of a slanted
view of him and whether it's his political belief.
Speaker 7 (27:00):
Oh, I hope that. Yeah, no, no, no, that that
absolutely exists, which is why I hate that everybody has
to draw everything on political lines now, Like I'm just
watching football, man, I don't need to, like, yeah, I
don't need to relate everything to who's on the right
or who's on the left when I'm watching a football game,
you know. But that's what we've come to, I guess.
(27:21):
And I don't want to turn this into a deeper conversation,
but I guess we already have since I killed all
the platter. If there's about three minutes ago.
Speaker 2 (27:29):
Well listen, it happens. But ab we appreciate a few
minutes of your time here on a Thursday morning. He
is Albert Breer, senior NFL reporter, also lead content strategist
at the MMQB. Get him on x at Albert Breer.
We'll do it again next week. Thanks Aby.
Speaker 7 (27:45):
All right, thanks guys.
Speaker 2 (27:45):
All right, it is the Dan Patrick Show here on
Fox Sports Radio. LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you,
and right now we turn it over to Nick co
for some breaking news out of the.
Speaker 1 (27:55):
NFL, Breaking news from Far Sports.
Speaker 8 (28:02):
All right, all right, guys, this comes from the Twitter
account verified from oj Simpson. Apparently oj has passed away,
according to a post made by his family on his
verified Twitter account. It says, quote on April tenth, which
was yesterday, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his
battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his children and
(28:25):
grandchildren during this time of transition. His family as that
you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace. Signed
the Simpson family. Haven't had any media reports of his
death yet, but this from Ojy's personal verified Twitter account.
Speaker 2 (28:43):
Well, I don't this is I don't know how to
react to this. It is a tricky one.
Speaker 3 (28:51):
Was it known that he was battling with cancer.
Speaker 2 (28:53):
I saw that somewhere that he was dealing with an illness,
but I hadn't heard anything about it and some time. Yeah,
so it's kind of obviously, we know, look, playing career,
you know, one of the best ever. But then that
court sort of takes a step back when you consider
all the stuff that happened afterwards, the double murder and
many people feeling like he did it and got away
(29:16):
with it, just kind of was able to kind of
live and do his thing and play golf and play
fantasy football, and it just sort of we just sort
of looked past that and just kind of almost, I
don't want to say we accepted it. It just almost
felt like, how's this? How is he able to do
all of this with that in his past? And then
it's you know, you never want to see anybody pass away.
(29:39):
It's sad for the family, it's sad for the people
that had nothing to do with the incidents that took
place after his career. But this is surprising obviously that
this came out.
Speaker 4 (29:48):
And so I think the one thing that surprised me
is when you go through what he went through post
career in regards to what is accused of criminally and
I believe convicted of civilly at least in the civil
court of law, which are two different burdens of proved.
But that being said, you know, the fact that he
chose to be out in the open, you know, he
chose to be out in the public eye, which you know,
(30:09):
you you realize there's gonna be a lot of criticism
and a lot of people who you know, based on
the allegations, believed he was guilty, believe he got away
with it. So a lot of obviously mixed emotions I'm
sure for people out there who aren't really sure how
to you know, view O. J. Simpson because it's hard
to remove you know, what his identity was built by,
(30:31):
which was you know, his football career with obviously what
occurred afterwards.
Speaker 2 (30:34):
I mean, I still remember where I was when that
trial was going on and it was announced that he
was not guilty, like people, I mean, because talk about
an uproar in the country, like of people feeling the country.
Speaker 5 (30:49):
In a lot of way, yeah, during that time, but yeah,
I mean, you know, people get old, they die, Oh
Jay's out of here.
Speaker 2 (30:58):
All right, there you go, We'll put here on Yeah,
he was, He definitely was, you know, And that'll be that,
and that's that. It is the Dan Patrick Show here
on Fox Sports Radio. LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox
with you in for DP and the guys. So coming
up next here, we're going to tell you about one
(31:19):
team in the world of football who did something that
might have made things a little bit more difficult on themselves.
That's yours here on FSR.
Speaker 1 (31:27):
Be sure to catch the live edition of The Dan
Patrick Show weekdays at nine am Eastern, six am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (31:37):
It's the Dan Patrick Show here on Fox Sports Radio.
LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you in for
DP and the guys. Coming up in a little over
twenty minutes from now, we're going to have another edition
of You and You Out. That is a special segment
that we do here on the show that we host
(31:57):
called Two Pros and a Cup of Joe Monday through Friday.
And basically our executive producer, lead to Lap who dropped
a little bit of a a not a bombshell on us,
but drop something on us earlier that apparently he goes
shopping with kat o'caalin, which, all of a sudden is
the name that is relevant again because if you're just
tuning in, oj Simpson died earlier at the age of
(32:19):
seventy six from cancer. So that has been making the
rounds via the media, social media, news, all over the television,
wherever you look, wherever you hear. So we were on
the air when that came out earlier. Apparently lead to
lap On kato'caalin, who was featured and what was his
role in that? Was he like the chef or was
he like Lee, you're friends with this guy?
Speaker 3 (32:40):
What did he do? Again?
Speaker 2 (32:40):
For Ojba, he was the house guest that lived in
the back house. Yeah, so he lived in the back house,
so he yeah, So lead to lap In kato'calin apparently
shop at bonds together and sort of head not each
other whenever they run into each other. But the point
is we're going to have a special segment called You
and You Out and basically Lee's going to drop some
(33:01):
stuff on us. We don't know where this usually goes,
but it's usually very frustrating because Lee finds out that
it's a special day, it's somebody's day, it's like National
dog food Day. It's like National donut Day. It did
you just nod your head? Is it really National dog
food Day?
Speaker 3 (33:19):
No?
Speaker 2 (33:19):
It's National uh pet your dog Day? Okay I was.
Speaker 3 (33:23):
I wasn't going to share that one. But you need a.
Speaker 4 (33:25):
Day we should be petting our dogs every day for
you dog owners.
Speaker 2 (33:29):
It's the only day you can do that, apparently and
be celebrated for it. It's like National Breathing Day. It's
the one day you're allowed to but apparently we will
have more of that.
Speaker 3 (33:40):
Enjoy breathing today. Is it too soon? Is it too soon?
Speaker 5 (33:46):
I feel like everything we're going to say is going
to have some type of connectivity or a way to
relate it to what's going on. I mean, I'm just
going to not say anything. I just feel like this
is a show for me to just just.
Speaker 3 (33:57):
Let you out go.
Speaker 2 (33:58):
Well, but like, how do you it is?
Speaker 3 (34:00):
I do feel sharp today.
Speaker 2 (34:03):
That extra three hours, I got.
Speaker 3 (34:06):
That extra sleep and then it's finally worn off.
Speaker 4 (34:10):
The LeVar Islands elusive, you know, yeah, yeah, I have
just bulletproof in some ways.
Speaker 3 (34:18):
Yeah yeah, kind of untouchable.
Speaker 5 (34:22):
Yeah, well you know many you know.
Speaker 3 (34:29):
What to say? I have no great comeback for you.
All I can tell you is is that you know, well,
you're good. You're good. You know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (34:40):
You're like a runaway Bronco on a freeway, you know.
Now do you want to point this out.
Speaker 3 (34:49):
That it could be a Jaguarre Mercedes? I mean we're
doing dance show.
Speaker 2 (34:56):
Yeah, definitely, definitely.
Speaker 3 (34:58):
I got you.
Speaker 2 (35:00):

one of a kind flexible financing program. Head to NetSuite
dot com slash patrick right now. Aaron Rodgers spoke recently.
(35:23):
This was on the I Can Fly podcast. Brady Quinn
is a big fan of these podcast names, big fan.
There was the big podcast of Shack.
Speaker 4 (35:34):
It's not that I'm not a fan, it's just, you know, like,
what's the thought pross behind him? And here's the thing
is I get it is if you've gotten late into
the podcast game. Obviously, if someone else already has the title,
you can't take it. And there's a lot of people
who you know, remember people like squatting on websites. Oh yeah,
it's kind of like what they've done now with somebody's
podcast names. Like they'll have podcasts that are completely irrelevant,
(35:56):
but if you know, they want to sell it to
someone or they're like, no, you to pick something else
because I'm doing my podcast even though it doesn't have
as many you know, listeners or subscribers as someone like
shat it didn't.
Speaker 2 (36:06):
Somebody had to do that with the Washington name. The Commanders.
Speaker 3 (36:10):
Yeah, yeah, they barked all cons and that they.
Speaker 4 (36:12):
Remember like red wolves is what they wanted. Then they
realized some guy was already got it.
Speaker 3 (36:17):
It's which why would you want to be the red
Wolves anyway?
Speaker 4 (36:21):
I just all I remember about that is they started
talking about what the name was going to be, and
there was so much stuff about red Wolves that I
honestly stopped paying attention.
Speaker 3 (36:31):
I was like, Oh, there's gonna name the team red Wolves.
Speaker 4 (36:33):
And then I come to find out later on People
Home it was like no, someone already had that, yeah, and.
Speaker 5 (36:39):
It was going to sell it, like they could have
named the team the red Wolves. He's just going to
pay that man for that name. It's not a bad hustle.
It could backfire on you, backfied on dude, dude, Oden's name.
That ain't got no value to it right now.
Speaker 2 (36:52):
I don't know even I feel like these bigger companies,
like anybody's got a price, so like they could they
could just do or have a work around to try
and get those names, you know, like we want the
red Wolves, We'll get the red Wolves. But they decided
to go with the Commanders. Look, they should have kept
the Washington football team. It's a better name than the
Commanders or Commando.
Speaker 3 (37:12):
Just not good, you.
Speaker 2 (37:14):
Know, yeah, definitely is. Well, here's what I'm.
Speaker 3 (37:18):
Sure pushing the envelope today. I'll tell you what you mean.
What you mean, why why they got to be the Commandos.
We're just trying to kill them softly, you know, dang.
Speaker 5 (37:31):
I mean, okay, all right, I mean, if the name
doesn't fit, you must have quit.
Speaker 2 (37:39):
That's a great point. I'm just saying that is a
great point.
Speaker 3 (37:46):
God, you guys are ruthless.
Speaker 1 (37:48):
Man.
Speaker 2 (37:48):
Well as we uh we transition smoothly from that over
to this. On the I Can Fly Podcast, Milk, Aaron
Rodgers spoke about the injury last year four plays into
his New York Jets career and just the impact that
it had on him emotionally, and what he was feeling
at the time was take a lesson.
Speaker 9 (38:08):
I was heartbroken on Sepember eleventh in the locker room,
thinking my career might be over. And that's how I'm
going to go out one of the highest highest in
my sporting career, running on the field on nine to
eleven with an American flag, which I had never done
in my life. After all the beauty in the summer
and hard knocks and the new team and just being
in New Jersey and the excitement talking with their amazing
(38:29):
fan base and just feeling just the energy and the
momentum building. And then that I look back now and
so much changed in my life for the better. And
I often have a hard time with people who say
everything happens for a reason. Sounds I called on that
part of it is the ego wanting things to just
be a little bit easier sometimes. But just like so
(38:49):
many things had to happen for me to be sitting
right here today with the both of you, so much
changed in my life in the last six months. It
would not have happened had I not been carted off
that field. But only in that has all this beauty
being able to happen. How can I not be wakeful?
Speaker 3 (39:05):
It was the music for me.
Speaker 4 (39:07):
Yeah, you could put that theme music under a fart
and it would be and that's going to be the
best part ever dramatic thing ever.
Speaker 5 (39:16):
Hey man, y'all better cut that out. Stop playing around, man,
let's stay on top of that.
Speaker 2 (39:21):
Is it Hame, he's super dope? Yeah, he did the
song on.
Speaker 3 (39:33):
Your mic?
Speaker 7 (39:33):
Was on?
Speaker 3 (39:34):
Tell your mike cut his mic. Dang than what you
eat last night? You better check your.
Speaker 2 (39:55):
Pat check your socks.
Speaker 3 (40:02):
Dang the vallid what I've ever heard? What's wrong with you? Lee?
Speaker 2 (40:18):
We're never going to be invited back. That was real,
at least clean the mic off?
Speaker 3 (40:26):
My god, what was that real? Was that our loss
was real? Was that real? Oh my gosh?
Speaker 10 (40:44):
Oh man gosh. Well yeah, listen, we put the music
to that part. Are you going to say, what's more dramatic?
That are the Master's theme music? But that, I mean,
that was very over the top. Rogers talking about his injury.
Speaker 4 (41:08):
Hans, you know it's terrible about it is you start
talking about the Master's theme music. We talked about it
earlier in the week, How like it almost sounds like
funeral music.
Speaker 2 (41:17):
Yeah, what are you getting at?
Speaker 4 (41:19):
Well, you know, oh no, yeah, I mean I'm just
saying if that was the underbed, like.
Speaker 2 (41:30):
You know, I feel like, you know, we've you know,
we've been covering that that topic thoroughly, you know, every
angle possibly needed to cover.
Speaker 5 (41:38):
The Oh no, no, no, you know he was one
of only eight players whoever won the Heisman Trophy and
it was an a p NFL MVP.
Speaker 3 (41:47):
Yeah, in the NFL. So think about that.
Speaker 2 (41:49):
Yeah, if you wonder why we're playing the funeral music, Yes,
O J. Simpson passed away. This is actually a funeral
for Lee's trousers that are now being thrown away in
the garbage.
Speaker 4 (42:00):
Nineteen seventy three NFL MVP, A five time first team
All Pro mhmm, remember of both the Player Pro and
College Football Hall of Fames.
Speaker 2 (42:12):
What else about is by a bioto you have, like
anything else in his resume?
Speaker 3 (42:17):
Got Well, maybe you should cover that. Maybe you should
cover that part of all the music stops, so you
have to.
Speaker 2 (42:24):
He was once a run a car spokesman hurts, Yeah,
it was a herd through the airports.
Speaker 3 (42:29):
Yeah, he also did the Naked Gun. I do believe
he did.
Speaker 2 (42:33):
Yeah, he did, he did, and I think.
Speaker 3 (42:37):
He and he was actually good.
Speaker 4 (42:40):
He was actually good in the movie Your Biscus saying
he was a good actor, which some people would.
Speaker 3 (42:45):
Say, I mean he was acting. Oh damn, yeah, damn.
Oh man, that one caught me like I tripped over
that one. Yeah, you fell into that one.
Speaker 5 (42:55):
Hey, hey, brouh, that that's something that that was a
good one right there.
Speaker 3 (43:00):
Yeah, damn a good actor. Godd he was good in
the movies. He was.
Speaker 5 (43:09):
Would we say that that was the birth of reality television?
Speaker 2 (43:14):
Well, I mean it did involve a Kardashian.
Speaker 3 (43:17):
It did.
Speaker 2 (43:19):
Did I'm saying that Robert Kardashian.
Speaker 3 (43:22):
It did. I know you're going here, it did?
Speaker 2 (43:26):
Just where am I?
Speaker 3 (43:27):
God? I just I'm not sure I really were least
fart came into playing all this.
Speaker 2 (43:32):
Oh well, I just figured you know what else? I mean,
I mean, what do you would you rather talk about?
Speaker 3 (43:36):
But it came out of nowhere.
Speaker 5 (43:38):
That's why it's it's relevant to this because the topic
of the whole topic has come out of nowhere.
Speaker 3 (43:44):
Everything has come out of nowhere.
Speaker 2 (43:45):
Just all right, First, of all, like, don't blame us.
We're trying to place a clip of Aaron Rodgers talking
about being emotional after the injury, and they're playing some
Hans Zimmer song at such a level underneath him talking
that you can't even focus on words music, right, that's
very true. It's like it's the same music they play
at the end of Inception where the top is spinning
(44:07):
on the table. It's like Rogers talking about blowing his
achilles at MetLife Stadium and they've got and pants over.
Speaker 4 (44:15):
Basically, I keep question whether or not it was real.
I guess if he played it again, we'd know.
Speaker 5 (44:22):
But I can't handle hair and that again, like that
that was so random.
Speaker 3 (44:27):
It might be the funniest dip I've ever heard.
Speaker 2 (44:30):
You want to know if it was really? Just ask
Mike Lingard or the guy who runs the editing department
here to hose him down in the parking lot. Oh,
so you're wondering whether or not that was real.
Speaker 3 (44:40):
Poor Mike, Poor Mike.
Speaker 2 (44:44):
Like pulp fiction where they're trying to clean brains and
skull under their hair.
Speaker 4 (44:48):
The other thing is we like we know Lee well
enough to know that guy's stomach is like a garbage disposal.
He is not afraid of any type of cuisine and
he will mix any quisit, alcohol, whatever, and it does
not come out the other end very well.
Speaker 3 (45:04):
So you could not.
Speaker 5 (45:09):
Have time that any perfectly than what it was, though.
I mean, it just gotta be the best ever. That's
got to be the best one ever.
Speaker 2 (45:16):
Like, it's just it's just this is one hell of
a eulogy. Well this show. That's that's.
Speaker 3 (45:25):
It's stuck in my head. Guys. I keep hearing it
in my head.
Speaker 2 (45:33):
It's like it was yelling on the way I gotta
get out.
Speaker 5 (45:38):
It was so many things wrong with whoever did that
in real life. There's something they need.
Speaker 3 (45:45):
They needed help, man, they needed they need his medical assistance.
Speaker 2 (45:49):
And Joel, you gotta be ashamed of yourself.
Speaker 3 (45:51):
Man, Brady Brady, because you're quest did it? You did
request it, but you kind of did.
Speaker 4 (46:03):
I just I said, like, you know, it's certain dramatic
music you can like play like any time anywhere, and
it like changes the entire vibe of whatever's going on
a fart in particular.
Speaker 3 (46:14):
Yeah, there you go, there you go. That was the setup.
That's what happened the first time.
Speaker 2 (46:18):
You know, change the vibe of this show. I'll take you.
Speaker 3 (46:20):
That's how I shame about the first time. Here we are.
Speaker 2 (46:24):
Here, we are, by the way, Lee's on Amazon right
now shopping for new studio chairs. For some reason, I
don't know why that is.
Speaker 3 (46:34):
New. It gives new meaning to throw aways.
Speaker 2 (46:36):
Yeah, somebody spilled their you who on the floor over there?
All right, well listen, I know this. It's nothing like
a Mercedes because that brilliant e q E s UV

Even the headlamps are thinking the vehicle is all electric.

it's coming up next here on the Dan Patrick show,
There You Go, starring LeVar Arryton and also including Brady
Quinn Jones.
Speaker 3 (47:15):
Knocks of you here? Where are you going with this show?
Don't do it. Whatever it is you're thinking you're about
to do, don't do it.
