of The Mothership reporting that the Blazers head coach Chauncey
Billups has been arrested for alleged illegal gambling. Terry Rozier,

ten months after it was first reported that he was
under federal investigation, has been arrested as part of his
sports betting probe. He now plays for the Miami Heat
and the FBI Cash Bettel is going to hold a
press conference in a little less than an hour from now.
Pablo Torre is also reporting there is a lot more

to come. It's unclear as far as the gambling probe.
That Chauncey Billups is the head coach of the Blazers,
but the report says that this does not have anything
to do with him betting as a coach. But it
was previously reported the investigation into Terry Rogier's behavior centered
on unusual betting activity in twenty twenty three, when he

played for the Hornets. So in addition to what's going
on now to under investigation and Chauncey Billups, we don't
know if it was bets that were placed prior to
him being a head coach. Are there bets that have
to do with the NBA Terry Rozier as well. So

information's coming in as we speak, so we'll give you
an idea of anything leading up to the FBI holding
a press conference in an hour from now in New
York City to talk about Chauncey Billups of the Blazers
the head coach, and Terry Rozier of the Miami Heat.
Both have been arrested, as I mentioned, with the gambling
probe the FBI, and that's on the heels of the

And my big question his first year and I thought
the Spurs didn't do this well by getting him a
good point guard to put him in the right positions.
Stefan Castle was the Rookie of the Year and that's
the key with wembin Yama. With that kind of frame,

you got to find out you got to get him
to places where he can succeed. He doesn't have a
go to move yet, and that's what I'm waiting to see.
When you have that, I got to get a bucket.
I'm going to go to this he's on the court,
or I'm going to make this move. That's what I'm
looking for as he adds to his game. But it
was impressive, it was fun to see, and he's truly

truly remarkable. There's a lot of players who I've seen
over you know, fifty years, watching the NBA longer than that.
But when you watch somebody doing something that doesn't seem
like it's possible for somebody that big to be that skilled,

There is so much money made on illegal gambling because
nobody wants to report what they. Make and that's why

the outset you, know typically these guys who get picked
high or going to bad, teams and, uh you, KNOW

a debate about how do you make the environment more
quarterback friendly For. Romo, well we Drafted Tyron, Smith Travis
frederick And Zach.

Martin you, KNOW i mean it was it was as
simple as.

That And tony had his best year the year that
we Drafted Zach martin because we ran the heck out
of the ball we.

Had you, Know DeMarco murray led the league in.

Rushing tony was incredibly efficient and that's and that's how
the whole thing. Goes so you, know when you're in
those hard environments and you're learning how to, play it's
a bad. Combination SO i think it was as quickly
as you can get the environment right for those, guys
and typically it starts up front for. Me you, know

control the line of, scrimmage don't have them running for their,
lives and make good.

Picks you got to pick the right guys when you do,
that and and and then you, know.

Those guys learn as they. Go they're in a good.
Place they don't have to do. Everything you, know burden
is a big thing in. Football if you can spread
the burden around one part of your team or one,
guy and your team doesn't have to win for you every.
Week that's what the best teams. Have so typically of
those guys when they're, young they're carrying too much. Burden
the environment's not very, good and then people salur on,

them particularly in places Like New york where there's high.
Scrutiny SO i think the biggest thing for them was
to get a reset and then go to a better.
Place tampa is a better team Than cleveland, was Where carolina.
Was indianapolis is a better team than The giants were For,

Doesn't he, Doesn't AND i live that you, KNOW i
was the third quarterback there for a, while BUT i
was also the backup there, Too and you just don't get.
Reps you, know the starters get the, reps you get
the scout team. Stuff you, know maybe you get a
little something. Different coaches will give you ten plays On,
friday or they'll give you two plays at the end
of a twenty play set or. Whatever but you, KNOW

i learned early. On you, KNOW i would complain to, myself,
like how AM i supposed to? Play, WELL i never
get any. Reps and then you realize, that you, know
if you can't function in this, environment they're going to
find someone who. Can so you better develop a relief
pitcher mentality and you better figure out how to do.
It and so the WAY i did it was you
(21:47):
spend so much time watching, film so much time knowing
the plan inside and. Out you, KNOW i would drive,
around When i'd be driving, HOME i turn the radio
off And i'd call plays out, loud, RIGHT i mean,
literally you do everything you can to create reps for
yourself to get yourself ready to.

Go and you, know i'd throw after practice and you're.
Speaker 7 (22:06):
Always doing stuff because you're standing on the sideline AND
i would used to call the plays in and the
quarterback gets hurt and you put the headset down and it's, like,
okay you go from zero to one hundred miles an.
Hour but you, know the question is do those three or,
four five or ten reps during the? Week is that

what allows you to play? Well is it better to
have the guy who's playing all those snaps? Anyway take
those and then you just have to have a relief
pitcher's mentality to go in and.

Function and you, know so it's a tricky.

Thing but you, Know Troy, aikman who's a first Ballot
hall Of, famer he got all the, reps and SO
i think if You're Dylan, gabriel he probably deserves all
the reps, too because he's got a lot of catching
up to.

you turn off the radio and then what are you yelling?

At, YEAH i mean, literally you're saying out, loud, okay

one thing a little bit of a different. Topic you,
know WHEN i became the head coach In, dallas there
was this virtual reality thing that that became available to
us and we had it for a. While and the

reason we had it was probably because of my experience
as a backup quarterback never getting. Reps and we created
a virtual reality room where backup quarterbacks could go in
there and go. Through, essentially they were they were hearing
the play from the coach going to the line of.
Scrimmage you could look, left you could look, right There's

Dev brian over, here Here's Jason. WHITTING i, mean it
was it was a real, thing and from, ME i
thought it was. Invaluable not for the. Starter the starter
is getting all those, rests but the guy who doesn't
get the. Work AND i know jayde And daniels has
done a lot of work with, this BUT i think
that's a real thing and that's something can really help
people going.

Forward wait a, minute SO i go into a. Room

and the FBI Cash Bettel is going to hold a
press conference in a little less than an hour from now.

to come. It's unclear as far as the gambling probe.
That Chauncey Billups is the head coach of the Blazers,
but the report says that this does not have anything
to do with him betting as a coach. But it
was previously reported the investigation into Terry Rogier's behavior centered
on unusual betting activity in twenty twenty three, when he

played for the Hornets. So in addition to what's going
on now to under investigation and Chauncey Billups, we don't
know if it was bets that were placed prior to
him being a head coach. Are there bets that have
to do with the NBA Terry Rozier as well. So

an idea of anything leading up to the FBI holding
a press conference in an hour from now in New

That And tony had his best year the year that
we Drafted Zach martin because we ran the heck out
of the ball we.

Rushing tony was incredibly efficient and that's and that's how
the whole thing. Goes so you, know when you're in
those hard environments and you're learning how to, play it's
a bad. Combination SO i think it was as quickly
as you can get the environment right for those, guys
and typically it starts up front for. Me you, know

control the line of, scrimmage don't have them running for their,
lives and make good.

Picks you got to pick the right guys when you do,
that and and and then you, know.

Those guys learn as they. Go they're in a good.
Place they don't have to do. Everything you, know burden
is a big thing in. Football if you can spread
the burden around one part of your team or one,
guy and your team doesn't have to win for you every.
Week that's what the best teams. Have so typically of
those guys when they're, young they're carrying too much. Burden
the environment's not very, good and then people salur on,

them particularly in places Like New york where there's high.
Scrutiny SO i think the biggest thing for them was
to get a reset and then go to a better.
Place tampa is a better team Than cleveland, was Where carolina.
Was indianapolis is a better team than The giants were For,
Daniel so those guys get a chance to settle. In
they have their, scars they've, learned but they're also in

Place i'm also you, know, you being a former coach
and a, quarterback we talk about reps for. Backups you
know That Shudor sanders not getting first team reps And
Dylan gabriel is a hit away From shudor coming. In
did people ask you About Troy aikman's? Backup does he
get reps with the first team with The? Cowboys he.

Doesn't he, Doesn't AND i live that you, KNOW i
was the third quarterback there for a, while BUT i
was also the backup there, Too and you just don't get.
Reps you, know the starters get the, reps you get
the scout team. Stuff you, know maybe you get a
little something. Different coaches will give you ten plays On,
friday or they'll give you two plays at the end
of a twenty play set or. Whatever but you, KNOW

i learned early. On you, KNOW i would complain to, myself,
like how AM i supposed to? Play, WELL i never
get any. Reps and then you realize, that you, know
if you can't function in this, environment they're going to
find someone who. Can so you better develop a relief
pitcher mentality and you better figure out how to do.
It and so the WAY i did it was you
(21:47):
spend so much time watching, film so much time knowing
the plan inside and. Out you, KNOW i would drive,
around When i'd be driving, HOME i turn the radio
off And i'd call plays out, loud, RIGHT i mean,
literally you do everything you can to create reps for
yourself to get yourself ready to.

Go and you, know i'd throw after practice and you're.
Speaker 7 (22:06):
Always doing stuff because you're standing on the sideline AND
i would used to call the plays in and the
quarterback gets hurt and you put the headset down and it's, like,
okay you go from zero to one hundred miles an.
Hour but you, know the question is do those three or,
four five or ten reps during the? Week is that
(22:27):
what allows you to play? Well is it better to
have the guy who's playing all those snaps? Anyway take
those and then you just have to have a relief
pitcher's mentality to go in and.

Function and you, know so it's a tricky.

Thing but you, Know Troy, aikman who's a first Ballot
hall Of, famer he got all the, reps and SO
i think if You're Dylan, gabriel he probably deserves all
the reps, too because he's got a lot of catching
up to.

you turn off the radio and then what are you yelling?

At, YEAH i mean, literally you're saying out, loud, okay

know WHEN i became the head coach In, dallas there
was this virtual reality thing that that became available to
us and we had it for a. While and the

reason we had it was probably because of my experience
as a backup quarterback never getting. Reps and we created
a virtual reality room where backup quarterbacks could go in
there and go. Through, essentially they were they were hearing
the play from the coach going to the line of.
Scrimmage you could look, left you could look, right There's

Dev brian over, here Here's Jason. WHITTING i, mean it
was it was a real, thing and from, ME i
thought it was. Invaluable not for the. Starter the starter
is getting all those, rests but the guy who doesn't
get the. Work AND i know jayde And daniels has
done a lot of work with, this BUT i think
that's a real thing and that's something can really help
people going.

Forward wait a, minute SO i go into a. Room
DO i have to put on? Glasses you? Do And i'm,
now the defense isn't going to hit, me but how
are they? Moving SO i know Where i'm going, to
like my hot receiver going through. Progressions how much time
DO i have to do?

This, well we had all these crazy cameras at, practice
and these three hundred and sixty degree cameras that they made,
up and you would have it like fifteen yards behind
the ball.

And everybody you had to stay away from the.

Camera but literally you would hear the offensive coordinator call to,
play go in the, huddle walk up to the, line
and you could do this and this with these with
these headsets, on and literally there's Des. Brian it's not

you see the safety creeping down and you see the
strong dog pressure coming over.

Ongoing, okay let's start with The Chauncey billups allegations And
Terry rogier And Damon. Jones what were they alledged to
a bit involved.

In so there was two. Things one was this. Alleged
by the, way they're all. Alleged still everyone's innocent until proven.
Guilty they made sure to make that. Clear there was
one operation Called Operation Royal flush that involved the poker
scheme and basically they would dupe everyday people into playing
these games with high profile people Like Chauncey phillups And Damon.

Jones but everyone else besides the victim knew was in
on the scam. Allegedly so they were using technology to
like read. Cards they said something ABOUT x ray technology
where cards would be faced down but they could still
see what cards they, were and they were duping people
out of. Thousands you, Know ultimately it was more than
it was millions of dollars, Cash pattel, Said so that

was that was that it was When Chauncey bilts was
a former. Player Damon jones former. Player they're both. Coaches
very not.

coached last? Night but when is he alleged to have

evidence trying to figure, out you, know how they could nail,
them and they obviously have enough evidence now that they

And Terry rozier this, morning along with. Others the other
interesting factor here is that they said that The italian mob.

IS i, mean this is like A hollywood. Movie they
made a mention of, that but it is real. Life
has THE nba, RESPONDED i have not been in touch
with THE. NBA i did ask at the press conference
whether THE nba cooperated with the, investigation and they, said,
yes THE nba. Cooperated what do you think is? Next,
well LIKE i, said it's the tip of the. Iceberg

so you, know Now, Chauncey billups And Terry rose, here
they're going to be arranged in court and sorry for
the winds by the way In oregon And florida, today
we don't know exactly. When and they're you, know they're.
Charged there's going to be trials moving. FORWARD i think
THE fbi and the law enforcement agencies they're still asking, people,

hey if you know anything about, this you, know we're open.
Ears they're still. Investigating so the implication is that further, players,
coaches et cetera could still come.

Out but are we talking about fixing? Games betting on?

Games but that was so that's the Other there were two, investigations,
right there was the poker. One the other, one which
is What rosier is involved? In players Like rosier and
you know he's the only, player And john Tay porter

were giving inside information about they were going to claim
that they were, injured they were going to say they're
going to play. Poorly they were telling other people involved

in the scam so that people on the outside would
bet on you, Know Terry rozier is going to score
less than ten points and Then rosier would exit the
game in the second quarter saying that he's getting a leg.
Cramp you, Know that's what it. Was AND i mean
this was being reported for a, while but now the
charges are really out. There that's what was. Happening.
