Alright folks, we’re back discussing the greatest sixth men of their era. Except this time, we’re focusing on the 2010’s- a time filled with high flyers, volume shooters, and selfless players who could simply do it all on the floor. The 2010’s notably heralded perennial sixth men who possessed unique styles of play and the ability to fill in the gaps by exploiting the rhythm of the game. There were also dark horse hustlers who made impacts in their own special ways that could not be emulated. Tune in as we speak with sixth man and world champion Damion Lee as he discusses his approach to the game as a proud member of the “Bench Mob!”

Speaker 1 (00:00):
When you think about six man, six man ain't disrespected,
but there's like an asterisk like, oh, you ain't start
or you know. But again, the guys that we mentioned,
the Jamal Crawfords, the Monum Jenobleaz, the Lou Williams, the
James Hardens of the world, guys that really fill it
up to Andre Eagu Dollars that can get it going
at any moment. They just show the versatility of what

(00:23):
a six man and what it is modern day. You
know what I mean, y'all still basketball players at the
end of the day, you're just situational and the most
like sacrificial person to ever step on the court, you
know what I mean, because you got to give up
so much. But the main goal is to win. So
if you want to win, you got to have a
good six man. Man, you kind of look like lo
for sure, I'll take it man, I'll take it. Man.

(00:50):

era or subdet what up?

bench mob turned into a turn into a great career.

what's up there?

Whatever he deserves a he deserves a better intro.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
Man.

Speaker 4 (01:24):
You know, I know you coming with it.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
So here here we go. Man, all right, you know
what I'm saying. We got to show him love. Man,
he family, so he got you know, you gotta get
cozy on the couch, open up the fridge and all that.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
Man.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
So all right, listeners, buckle up for an absolute treat
today on the show, we're joined by none other Damian
Lee of Phoenix Suns, sharp shooting guard from a twenty
two NBA champion with Golden State Warriors. From grinding it
out at Drexel and Louisville to carving his name in
the league through sheer hustle, Damiens story is about resilience,

(01:56):
heart and clutch moments. Whether he's draining threes, inspiring next generation,
or bringing that championship swagger. The Baltimore native is ready
for some goat talk. What's up, David?

Speaker 3 (02:07):
What's up fellas man? You know, appreciate y'all having me on.
Definitely definitely gonna have a good vibe today.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Yes, sir, the brother in law Damien Lee, another part
of the NBA bench mob. You take pride in that
I know you're calming out yourself, a good career for yourself.
But uh, I know me personally, I've started a couple
a few years of my career, but mostly coming off
the bench doing my thing. You take pride and being
one of those guys coming off the bench. It's harder
than people see, man, I try to tell them on
this pile of the time, you don't always have a

(02:35):
rhythm like some of the guys who know they don't
get a certain amount of shots every night. Do you
take pride and coming off the bench.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
Yeah, definitely. I mean I feel like the beauty of
coming off the bench is that, you know, you sort
of see the game in real time, you know, the
first five six minutes. Then you can see where you
could you know, inject yourself in the game, whether it's
you know, trying to get to the line, knowing if
you're close to the bonus. Uh, maybe if there's a
one more that you can make, you know, just different
adjustments that you can make. You know, after the first

(03:04):
five or six minutes of the game, it's huge.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
As a six man. How do you stay prepared for
a game?

Speaker 3 (03:10):
I mean, for me, really, my routine pretty much stays
the same. Like there's been some opportunities where I have
had the opportunity to start, but for me, it's really
you know, my shooting time is always two hours before
the game, come back in, get a lift in, take
a shower, go to chapel, go talk to the lord.

(03:30):
Then you know, lock in once it's you know, sixty
minutes on the clock, and then really just read the
game as it is, you know, just understand that the
way that the game goes right, I'd say more so
the regular season in the playoffs, but regular season it's
you know, the first five or six minutes of the
game really kind of scripted that next flow that you get,

(03:50):
you know, up until the last four minutes of the
first half, everything's really free flowing. So it's like that's
where guys really learn, you know, take advantage of the
spots and kind of manipulate the game in that way.
And I think that's one thing that you know, you
really stay prepared, you're really locking on the details on that.
And you see a lot of guys that has success

(04:10):
in that.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
So I got a question for both of you guys,
since you guys take pride off coming off the bench,
and Damian you just mentioned scenarios, right, the flow and
the playoffs and different environments of like how the game
changes after the last up to up until the last
four minutes of the first half, right, Well, I really
want to know is it harder to adjust when added
to a starting lineup.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
I mean, I'd say it's definitely a different role, right,
It's like you have to sort of assert yourself earlier
into the game knowing that you know you're kind of
taking someone else's spot, you know, someone that may be hurt,
and there could be sort of role clarity in that,
or maybe not as much role clarity with you being
a starter, and you know, you're more comfortable coming off

(04:54):
the bench. Like you see that throughout the league, Like
there's guys who are better, you know, bench guys, and
then there's guys that are better at starters. And you know,
whenever that role sort of flips and flops, you know,
guys guys don't know how to adjust to that.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Yeah, that's a good point, because you know what I'm saying,
there's we get into some of these players when I'll
talk about throughout the best six man and twenty tens,
like you said that some players who they're thriving at
six man roll coming off the bench, they know what
they We're gonna get out of them and throw them
in the starting lineup, and you up their minutes, their
production and efficiency goes down a little bit.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
So I mean it's different waves to it.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
Also, like throughout my career there's been teams I've been
on where I've a couple of seasons I've started out
starting and I've come to the coach, I'm like, let
me come off the bench. I'm getting a better rhythm.

Speaker 4 (05:41):
I know certain one.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
In one instance, I was in Dallas, UH and I
was playing with Luca the first time, and I was
and I was starting some games, me and Tim Hardaway
with Flip Floppings who was starting, and I'm like, let
me come off the bench. I know, I know I'm
gonna get my shots. I get a couple of players
called for me instead of just having to playoff Luca
the whole time, he's making most of the most of
the decisions. He's he's determining run a high pick and

(06:03):
roll with spreading it out. He's determined who getting the
shots here and there, and it was kind of tough
for me in some senses. So uh kind of figured
out that that six man role coming off the bench,
and I was able to play a little bit better.
But like I said, it's a given taking both ways,
you know what I'm saying. So obviously, when you're starting,
you're getting you're gonna probably play a little bit more minutes.
You're gonna you have a chance to have a get

(06:23):
up to it, maybe a slow start. You can know
you're gonna shoot your way into a good game most
of the time.

Speaker 4 (06:27):
And then.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
And when you come off the bench, you get to
see the game. You get to read the game, see
the flow, see how teams defending, see see things you
can you can do once you get in there. And
that's kind of that's always my, uh my point of
view when I'm when I'm starting the game out off
the bench, I'm trying to stay loose, but also reading
the game and seeing how I can affect it.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
So now that you already mentioned the greatest six man
of twenty tens this episode, let's set the stage man
Because a lot of people don't know how to win
the award, how to what's a sixth man, and all
that other stuff. But we want to talk about the
six man before we jump in and name these these
talented players. So the NBA six Man Award recognized players

(07:08):
who excel coming off the bench, provide scoring, playmaking and
defensive impact. So this is the criteria for us as
we go through these players' names based on awards, impact
and recognition during the year of twenty tens, here are
the greatest six men of the decade. We're going to
start with this one particular, Jamal Crawford d Lee. How

(07:29):
good is Jamal Crawford.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
I mean, arguably one of the best ever, right, Like
it's you hear the story. It's the myth that he
never worked on his handles, Like he never did actual
drib dribbling drills. Everything that he did was just read
and feel. And you know, you see how his game
is six', five two hundred, pounds soaking. Wet but that
man is pure bucket score do it at all three.

(07:53):
LEVELS i mean he had what fifty at forty years
old something like. That, Yep so it's, like you, know
it's he's he's one of those names that when you
bring up six, men not even just twenty, tens but
of all, time it's like he's one of them.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
Guys, yeah he's a problem coming off the. Bench you,
know he gonna he not shy at. All he coming.

Speaker 4 (08:13):
Off he has to do one thing that's put the
ball in the.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
Hole he came off the point and he was averaging
eighteen coming off the, bench averaging eighteen for multiple. Seasons it's,
Ridiculous like that's a ridiculous, number eighteen or eighteen a.
Night and THEN i mean you got the next, guy
Lou will Who Will? Will it's him and Lou? Will
Who will seemed like for a five six year, Period,
yeah for a five six year, period him and Lou
will were battle that the who's gonna win that SIX

(08:37):
manu in The year?

Speaker 4 (08:37):
Award who's the?

Speaker 2 (08:38):
BEST i, Mean i'm sure both of those guys feel
like they could have been starters in the. League BUT
i know we talked about it in a separate part
about what why certain guys are six men that have
to are mainly bench players and not. Starters but they
they're not great, defenders you know What i'm. Saying so
they have like that one big. Flaw that was kind
of tough to put them in that start, lineup BECAUSE i,
mean you needed a lot of guy teams played with

(09:00):
the play with a great point guard most of the,
time whether it Was james harder than Lou will's, case
Or Chris.

Speaker 4 (09:04):
Paul you know What i'm.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
Saying they needed a guy that, too who could defend
most of the, time and that's not who they. Were
so they came off with that one specific skill putting
the ball in the, hole and they changed a lot
of games and it WAS i mean that both of
those were fun to watch.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
Thinking about Lou. Will every scout, right, sir you play Lou,
will it's forced him, right, yep because if that man
get left or it's like every play that was drawn
up for him was always on the left side of
the floor because you, know he's always getting to that,
spot that killed. Spot the fade away left is. Unblockable

(09:39):
and then even when he was IN, la it was
like him And, treads that two man pick and roll
was just.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
Unstoppable, YEAH i know for a. FACT i know for
a fact guarding.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
Him and then ONCE i got a chance to play For,
DOC i, realized like All Doc doc was great because
he put all his players in position to do what
they do. Best so he coming to the game guarding
the player like Lou will's, like don't let him get
left because it's a. Bucket so that's What i'm. Thinking
but everything he always found a way to get. Left
and it was because they ran plays to where he.
Was the left side was, clear so or they ended

(10:09):
up getting the screen going to his left and it
was nothing you could do about.

Speaker 4 (10:12):
It he had like a, package LIKE i said he.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
Had he had the privilege coming into a package of
plays for him and like you, said him And tres
that two man game where it was it was. Stuff
they had counters for everything and it was just stuff to.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
Stop, yeah speaking Of, tres how impactful was he especially
with The clippers team and the energy he, brought you
know WHAT i, mean he was Six man of The,
year but also just you know when he comes in
he can actually change the, game like immediately on the
boards or however getting to the, line et. Cetera how

(10:45):
good Was.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
Montre, Yeah trails was a problem too because he was
a change of. PACE i, know like WHEN i talk
about six, man you want players off the. Bench you
want him to come in and change the pace of
the game and change and kind of be a contrast
to what the starters do and trash came off the.
Minch he was different from what you got From zoos
or whoever you. ARE i don't know what whoever he
was playing, behind who was starting for The clippers or The, rockets,

(11:06):
whoever whatever team he was, on but he was a
change of.

Speaker 4 (11:08):
Pace he was a pick and roll.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
Big he was get in that, pocket finished at the,
realm shoot the, floater ran the floor crazy and, yeah
so like that that changing pace before having a different
type of player is big fourteen and.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
Doing all that at what sixt', six sixt', seven being
able to hang with the big, boys bang, like that's
that's big.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
Time an unfamiliar name that kind of sticks out like
a sore thumb on this. List james Hard you know
WHAT i? Mean James. Harden most most people won't believe
that he was the sixth man at one point part
of his career because he's been in the driver's seat
more than he's been on the. Bench but how effective
Was James? Harden, okay See.

Speaker 2 (11:50):
James, Man, like first of, ALL i gotta get this
off AND i gotta let, know let d know about
my my six man. Take, Right so we talked about
it before you got a real six man and fake six?
Man are you a six man because you're playing behind
somebody that's better than, you? Right or are you a
Six are you a starter who's coming off the bench
just because the coach want to mix up the game

(12:12):
or you want you know you you you want to
play against backups or whatever the case may. Be And,
JAMES i Give james a benefit of a doubt because
he was so, young like he was the first, rookie
second third year in the. League everybody knew how good he,
was but it's it's it's always tough to slide into
it to a starting role on the championship caliber team
that they had over And, okay, see So i'm gonna

(12:33):
give him a benefit of a doubt and and call
him a real six man early on even though he
was he was starting level.

Speaker 1 (12:39):
Talent, YEAH i mean to be, fair and winning that
award early on in his career versus catching it year,
six year, seven and you probably have kind of fluctuated
in the, lineup you, KNOW i, mean ideally he had
to earn that those who have played against him were
aware of his, talent but obviously you're you're playing Alongside
Kevin durant And Russell, West you're gonna have to defer some.

(13:02):
Things and then obviously when he got traded To, houston
he was able to break loose to mckel and you
know the rest of The rockets organization believed in him
to become the player he is. Today Eric, Gordon how
good Is Eric? Gordon Those clippers, Years, Rockets New Orleans,
Rockets you know WHAT i? Mean how important was he
to a roster having him come off the bench. Willingly

(13:27):
he's definitely he might be a fake starter to. Die
i'm not gonna.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
Lie, yeah he was one of those he flip flopped
so he would start on one team and he like
he was still in his prime when he went to
The rockets and he came off the bench right so.

Speaker 3 (13:39):
Because then he was still finished games. Too so it's
like it wasn't like he was a bad, defender but
it was one of those like he was a guy
that come, out step out to thirty, feet you got
to respect. It and then going, downhill like especially in
his younger, days he was just a bowling ball like
he was moving guys elbowing getting to the. Lane but

(14:00):
once he got To, houston it was basically like he
just went straight to space and like that was that,
was that was the known. Thing it was, like this
dude's gonna shoot from thirty.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
Feet that's a whole other thing to range. Man and
when he let it, fly that's the show going. There,
yeah you know WHAT i. MEAN i think that's how
he made his money for, sure you know WHAT i.
MEAN i got a chance to watch him on college
and early on with The. Clippers we thought he was
gonna be a little bit you, know me on putting
the ball on the ground and midi and all, that
and he found his bread and butter with a deep,

(14:29):
three which is prolonged his, career you know WHAT i.
Mean he's been able to play for a very long
time and bounce around the. League that rocket system was
perfect for.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
Him being With Dan, tony he reminded me Of barbosa
in a, sense Like downhill The street Obviously, Phoenix Quinn, Richardson,
yeah a big strong. Guard, yeah in the case Of Quinn,
richison but him And barbosa just got downhill pacing. Space
there was no bad shot and, yeah and they came
up the bitch and got to it And gordon one of,

(15:00):
those LIKE i, said, fake fake six man tight because
once he came in the, game he wasn't coming.

Speaker 4 (15:03):
Out like he.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
Was he was playing thirty thirty three minutes a night
and he didn't. Start he was, like he didn't start the.
Game but when he got in, there he was finishing
games and he was playing the rest of the.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
HALF i, mean shoot Eve ben last year In. PHOENIX i,
mean OBVIOUSLY i was, hurt SO i didn't, play but
we was teammates AND i see, him you, know shoot
around practice with all that, stuff all the shots he.
Did he come in the, gym do his warm, up
go right to, three get his corners, in and then
go right to thirty. Feet but it was the same.
Thing vocal had a thing where he called it The Laser,
lineup and it was basically just five. Shooters it Was

(15:35):
katie at the Five Brad, Book Eric, gordon And Grayson allen,
okay and it was just drive space and it Was laser.
Lineup all all they did was shoot, threes one, person
break the, paint defense, collapse can't kick kick shoot threes
sound like a.

Speaker 1 (15:52):
LUXURY i.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
Know for, me like WHEN i first my first couple
of years in the, LEAGUE i watched a couple of
vets and try to pick.

Speaker 4 (15:57):
Up some of their.

Speaker 2 (15:59):
Tendency is in there their practice, habits that in game
habits when they were in the, game how they stayed,
loose LIKE. JJ i WATCHED Jj burray a lot his
later years and picked up a lot of his his
routines and. Stuffy any people like you played with early
in your, Career any teammates years that you looked at
and SAID i could take a thing or two from.

Speaker 3 (16:17):
Them oh, YEAH i mean. Definitely. ANDRE i Think Andrea
gudala was one of the main. Guys just like learning
how to take care of your. Body like WHEN i
first came in the. League you, KNOW i knew what work,
was BUT i didn't know what it meant to work
like a. Pro and seeing him just understand what your
diet lifting weights, LIKE i, MEAN i was fortunate enough

(16:37):
to be In Golden state from twenty eighteen to twenty twenty,
two so to see how those guys worked every single.
Day they lifted after every, game they did little micro
lifts before, games took care of their body their, diet
like that's the stuff that's actually helped me prolong my.
Career but then also like practice wise and. SHOOTING i

(16:57):
look at one, BASKET i see step shooting the next,
BASKET i See clay next, BASKET i SEE, KD i
See draymond And andre And Sean livingston even boogie that one.
Year i'm like and then obviously being coached By, Kerr i'm, like,
Damn i'm around Six hall of, Famers like IF i
don't get, better like you know WHAT i?

Speaker 1 (17:16):
Mean, yeah, absolutely you mentioned Uh iggy right and again
another person right Who All? Star you know WHAT i?
Mean had could easily. Start he actually probably is one
of the most unselfish but also smart HIGH iq when
it comes to where's my career going with? THIS i

(17:38):
could be at Multiple All star and play for a subpar.
Team we get to the first, round we get knocked,
out OR i can buy into the. SYSTEM i could
Join Steph. CURRY i can you, know help broom these,
Players LIKE i, said you know you joining and seeing
that and understanding how to be a true vet sacrifice

(18:01):
in his, game he could have easily been a starter
elsewhere for a very long. Time he chose, saying you know,
What i'm gonna play this role to a T i'm
going to earn, it and became the model outside Of
LIKE i, said when you think About Jamal crawford And Lou,
williams they're the scoring six. Man when you think about
complete six, man that's you might get some points from,

(18:24):
me you might get some, threes you might get some,
defense you might get coaching on the you know WHAT i,
mean secondary coach on the, floor. Leadership there's so many
intangibles that kind of shape the locker room that he
brings to. It but it starts with his sacrifice because
if he don't do, that for, sure got it don't.

Speaker 3 (18:43):
Work it don't.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
Work say they win that first championship and he, like all,
right change the.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
PROGRAM i want the ball more.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
Now it was tough on him his first because he came.
Over they thought it was gonna be a, starter feeling
to be that third star on the twa Behind Stephen
clay or, whatever and they're gonna be off and. Running
but When kerk got, there he asked him to come
off the. Bench it was, Tough like he one of
the best players in the league and he coming off
the bench and it's hard for. Him, so like we
said that that different role that changed the. Pace it

(19:14):
took him thirty forty games to use of that six
man role and finding his wave and eventually like he
could come up the. Bench you can he come in
from anybody for one through. Four you can throw them the.
Ball he could get guys that, shots he could, score
he could guard. Everybody he he in that top five for,
sure and you have to throwing that throwing that FINALS.
Mvp like he started that series and started that playoff

(19:37):
run coming off the bench and ended up winning FINALS.
Mvp now did he deserve, it that's a different, question
but he got it.

Speaker 4 (19:44):
Done, Yeah, no for.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
Sure this guy we mentioned him on the previous six man,
episode but it was two thousands AND i don't think
it was really he. Was he was playing a six man,
role but he wasn't as a threat until this. Era
J R CR Cr, NOW. Jr smith is one of
my favorite bench. Players right AS i got you, know was,

(20:09):
PLAYING i would always be, like, man what IS. Jr
smith doing right?

Speaker 3 (20:12):
Now?

Speaker 1 (20:13):
That like how CAN i like make the bench role look?

Speaker 3 (20:16):
Cool you know WHAT i?

Speaker 1 (20:17):
Mean he dunking on, people he shooting at, three he
shooting deep, three but he had swag with, it you
know WHAT i, mean like Them denver. Teams obviously he's
not gonna start OVER, Ai he's not gonna get the
ball more than. Mellow but when he got, in he's
just making that making it look, sweet you know What i'm.
Saying so how How good would no shots man no
shot and it looked, crazy you know WHAT i. Mean

(20:39):
he's one of, them like zero f given you know
WHAT i. Mean? Players NOW i really Love. Jr how
good Was? Jr smith In New york and In.

Speaker 2 (20:46):
Denver like early in his career and even the most
of his, prime he was coming off the bench Like,
denver Uh New york when he was most, athletic probably the,
best maybe the best version of. Himself he was coming
to mention that when we got a little, older slowed
down a little bit and went To, cleveland he started
he was starting for that. Team i'm saying he spreading the,

(21:07):
floor basically turned into mainly a three point. Shooter but
coming off the, bench he and that he and that
Lou Will jamal Crform, Molder i'm coming in to do one,
thing and that shoot the basketball Like i'm coming.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
In to scool blood off that. BALL i ain't, guarding
i ain't.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
Passing i'm coming in And i'm gonna get, hot And
i'm Either i'm gonna win this game for.

Speaker 1 (21:24):
You i might lose it for you, too But i'm
getting them.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
Up for, sure at least fifteen a game up getting him.

Speaker 2 (21:31):
Up that's a fun style of, Basketball like you come
off If i'm gonna get my shots off of, it
and If i'm If i'm, Hot i'm gonna probably close the.

Speaker 4 (21:39):
Game i'm gonna. Finish if, Not i'm gonna try it
out the next night.

Speaker 1 (21:43):
And gonna leave with the cool currency you leave everybody
leaving that, Game like you see What. Jr. Did he
got a couple of plays that that's gonna get talked.
About so he's a fan favorite in that in that,
aspect when he comes, in we're gonna take a quick,
break but when we come. Back we got great stories
About Sean liverston in his. Journey delan got a front

(22:17):
row seat With Sean. Livingston how good is the other has?

Speaker 3 (22:20):
Died Good? MAN i mean it's this running joke that
people still have like that man never missed the mid range,
jumper the little back, down turn, around shoot. OVER i
mean and even like you, know attest to his, career
all of all the things that he's been, through like
from him being a, starter basic, career, ended come back
and still fought through it, all and then just seeing

(22:42):
the way he took care of his. Body but same
thing As. Andre it's like just new the. Game like
you could just tell that they see the games it's
too slowed, down, Honestly like you, know the game gets
slowed down for some. People it's fast for a lot
of the younger. Guys but it was like they could
see the play before it happened and just understood. It
the same, thing selfless dud did whatever it took to

(23:03):
try to.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
Win, yeah he's a night like he's like a star player's,
favorite like bench guys LIKE i, Know steph loved, him
play loved, HIM kt loved him because like when they
went to the bench to rest and him And andre
came in the, game you, knew like what you're gonna
get from every. Night it might not be nothing, crazy
but like they weren't gonna lose the, Lead like they
weren't gonna have a bad. Night they're gonna run the
office the right way they're gonna. Guard he's gonna get

(23:26):
to his, midties probably scored eight to twelve a night
and then go sit down like he a real bench.
Guy And Steve kurkr trusted him and a big reason
why they why they, UH i mean won so many
regular season games and was solid in the playoffs because
once the starters got the lead and they went to,
rest LIKE i said they, didn't they were coming back
to a.

Speaker 1 (23:46):
Lee personal shout out To Sean livingston. Man he renovated
one of my childhood basketball courts out back In, Content
okay at The Salvation, Army and that was like a
DREAM i wanted to do. It IF i like made
it to the, LEAGUE i was, Like i'm gonna fix.
It Sean livston did. It no better than a better
person to do, It so salute to. HIM a lot
of kids are using that gym to this, day so

(24:09):
respect to. Him. Uh this next personal, list uh you
had you were a teammate this. Year Todd, gibson.

Speaker 4 (24:18):
The O g we called him this.

Speaker 2 (24:20):
Year he's he probably one of those guys he came
into the, league you, know looking looking older than looking
older than than he actually. Was but, nah coming off
to be he was a, real real bitch guy out
there In chicago for a long time playing FOR. TIBs i,
mean when you play For TIBs and you come up to the,
bitch you aren his trust and you getting minutes because
you Know tivs don't like to play his bench in
the first.

Speaker 4 (24:40):
Place so when when.

Speaker 2 (24:42):
He Trusted, todd you Knew todd solid like a long
career up In, chicago AND i mean he showed you he.
Was he never really started up. There he came up
the bench for some good, teams BUT i, MEAN i,
REALLY i really saw the. Love we went back there To,
CHARLOTTE i mean back To chicago and played there With
sharlotte this, year and and the crowd was chanting his
name the whole game like we.

Speaker 4 (25:03):
Were it.

Speaker 1 (25:04):
Was the game kind of got out of hand in
the fourth one.

Speaker 2 (25:06):
Game you, Know todd was over there, Chilling he wasn't
playing a, lot didn't even get in the, game and
they were it's like four or five minutes left in
the game that they're chanting his, name trying to get.

Speaker 4 (25:14):
In the check in coach puts him in the.

Speaker 2 (25:17):
Game he walks in and they standing ovation like they
was like a two minute standing ovation FOR.

Speaker 4 (25:22):
Todj.

Speaker 2 (25:22):
Gibson and that's what shows the. Love that's that's that's
who he was out there In chicago.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
As A bulls.

Speaker 1 (25:27):
Fan play, hard you get the, love, Man and that's
the fitt of me of. Him, Man like he, again
he ain't have to be third, option second, option but
when he came in, rebound, dunk block, shots the fan
just the pros pro and that and that's that speaks,
volumes you. KNOW i, mean he's still in the, league
you know WHAT i, mean keeps a. Job that's the running.

(25:49):
Joke Todd gibson keeps a. Job he can get waved
and he gonna be on the roster to finish off
the season, somehow, somehow some. Way so WHEN i seen,
him you, know pair up with you, Guys i'm, like
he gonna be all. Right.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
Yeah and he had an old school game like post
shoot THE midi still to this day shoot THE.

Speaker 4 (26:08):
Midi we were playing this funny. Story we were playing The.

Speaker 2 (26:10):
Spurs this, year right and we had a bunch of,
injuries So todd is actually in the rotation this. Game
he come in like second, quarter scores a quick six
straight middies and like a rookie second year guy was
guarding him And Darren. Fox so he gets traded the
spurs like his second. Game Darn Fox, Like, yo when

(26:31):
he catches in the midte you gotta guard. Him he can,
Shoot he's Like and then rookie was like what, oh, okay.
Okay it was, like, wait you don't. Know you don't
know Who. Todd you don't Want todd different. Does you
don't know who he. Is he's making that every time
you gotta get up and guard. Him SO i just
love Funny todd story THAT i remember from from the.

Speaker 1 (26:45):
Year shouts the D, fox you know WHAT i, mean
shouting at because, AGAIN i, mean it's the brotherhood that's
fans on the, outside. Right they love to speak on,
anybody whether it's the guy that didn't play the d,
MPs et. Cetera but it's never a. Dish, respect you
know WHAT i. Mean y'all all have mutual love for.
Everybody y'all, respect y'all understand the power of the four.

(27:06):
Fifty you know WHAT i, mean and why they're. There
you know WHAT i. Mean and sometimes you get to
a situation where you play a. Lot sometimes you don't
play at. All but it ain't no. Disrespect it's only
the fans doing. That so the, idea when you get
your number, call you gonna do what you gotta. Do,
Yeah and that's you, know that's an example for.

Speaker 2 (27:23):
Sure.

Speaker 1 (27:23):
MAN a lot of people don't know about this dude right. Here,
man but he could spread the, floor. Man and when
he gets, hot he get, Going Ryan Anders Anders Ryan, Anderson,
MAN i think about That Golden State houston. Series, yeah
when he get it, going he get it. Going and
that was a lot when you go back and look
at that, series it was so many threes. Taking he
was the ultimate Stretch, big like one of the. Sixteen

(27:45):
he liked the New, wave like.

Speaker 4 (27:47):
The New wave. Stretch, yeah Sixteen.

Speaker 2 (27:49):
Big he could play the four to five and when
he's at the, five like his team was a nightmare
of the guard because it was five out picking. Pop
he could shoot from, rain shoot it, quick LIKE i
said when he came in the game for d'An toni
and even In New. Orleans when he was In New,
orleans he was hooping doing his. Thing so, YEAH i
got to show him some.

Speaker 3 (28:08):
Love it's funny you say that because it's like the
new age BIG i even think About.

Speaker 1 (28:13):
Lamar, yes L o was crazy and also we you,
know later on we'll talk about born in the wrong.
Era but he is what we see, today, Right and
it wasn't like go get him the post because nobody
was really disrespecting. HIM i think he just didn't have
that many touches in the particular teams that he ended up.

(28:33):
On he probably could have did it with The clippers
a little, bit But Elton brown was their. Guy and
then he ends up IN la playing With kobe And
powell and thinking about. It Man llo could put the
ball on the, ground he could do it, all but
at the end of the, day there was limitations to
what the team needed him to. Do but if he's
getting drafted and coming out now that point point per

(28:56):
game coming up, them rebounds is a little bit, more
those assists a little bit. More he's considered for An All.
STAR i, MEAN i really loved that he was a
part of Those olympics teams because it showed how important
he was to the, game you know WHAT i, mean
like the intangibles, like, oh your game is perfect for,
this you know WHAT i. Mean you can defend and
then on the, offensive, end you know you can, pass

(29:18):
which is kind of the euro style, bigs you know
WHAT i. Mean they gotta know how to, pass they
gotta know how to. Shoot they got to be able
to go back to the. Basket and that's what l.

Speaker 2 (29:26):
Does, yeah he gets tricky when When i'm like trying
to figure out my go top five or the six,
man because he kind of an overlap like he was
in the two, Thousands like he's on those championship teams
for The lakers in two, thousands and then he won
his Six man of The year in like twenty eleven
maybe or twenty. Twelve so do you put him me
in your top five of two? Thousands do you put
me in top FindOut the?

Speaker 3 (29:48):
Leaves, no that's the.

Speaker 1 (29:49):
Question but one of my favorite, players like, rightfully so
he's part of.

Speaker 4 (29:53):
Showtime.

Speaker 1 (29:54):
Yeah but if you ask a lot of, players specifically
older players that might be, retired a lot of them
may say The. Goods, well his nickname is The goods back,
then But goods it was really like, That and you,
know don't get it. Twisted AND i THINK i think
when you think about six, man six man ain't. Disrespected

(30:16):
but there's like an asterisk, like, oh you ain't start
or you. Know but, again the guys that we, mentioned
The Jamal, crawfords the mon Of, jenobleez The Lou, williams
The James hardens of the, world guys that really fill it,
up The Andre Eagule dollars that can get it going
at any. Moment they just show the versatility of what
a six man and what it is modern. Day you

(30:37):
know WHAT i, mean y'all still basketball. Players at the
end of the, day you're just situational and the most
like sacrificial person to ever step on the, court you
know WHAT i, mean because you got to give up so,
much but the main goal is to. Win so if
you want to, win you got to have a good six.
Man the candy man you kind of look, like lo for,
SURE i take it, MAN i take it.

Speaker 3 (30:56):
Man Jordan clarks are.

Speaker 1 (31:01):
Another score guy who you, KNOW i feel like he's
A lou will. Type, yeah we're not gonna give you
too much on, defense but can fill it up when
he gets it. Going obviously he's transitioning into like a
starter row and now he's not really in the, rotation
so it's kind of. Fluctuating but when he's playing on
those teams that really need. Him he can he can go.

(31:22):
Off and we've seen a lot of buckets come come
out Of, utah come out of those other you, know
when he was with The lakers In New orleans and et.

Speaker 2 (31:31):
Cetera so he won those tricky, ones like he's talented
enough to be a, starter can score the, ball but,
undersize don't really guard like. That but you gotta put
him out, there like what's his role because you gotta
play because he can go out there and give you
twenty at. Night, so like you said, that Lou will
Joining clarkson type, role and it's good to see him

(31:51):
get a six minute of the year war for.

Speaker 3 (31:53):
SURE i MEAN i remember one, time one game In Golden,
STATE i Think donovan might have got hurt to get
into the. Game so Then, Jordan jordan starts taking. Over
we look, up we think he has Forty next, thing you,
know we look over a little bit more to the,
right it's like thirty eight field goal of. Chips but
it's like but it's like that's, what's you, know expected of.

(32:14):
Him it's like in order for him to get, that
it's like you got to sort of let him beat
him and let him get the shots.

Speaker 2 (32:19):
Up, yeah no conscience like he don't, care he. None you,
know if you make, one he. Hot if you feel
like you missed four or five in a, row hes
gonna shoot the next.

Speaker 3 (32:28):
One, Yeah Corey.

Speaker 1 (32:30):
Brewer Corey brewer reminds me of like An Andred egle
dollar type, right because again the. INTANGIBLES i Remember Corey
brewer scored fifty and people were, like, right.

Speaker 3 (32:41):
All fast break, dunks it was all, in all.

Speaker 1 (32:45):
Realm, yeah all buckets, Him Rodney, carney you know WHAT i,
mean like them type of. Names they they get after.
It they get in for one, reason get the, break
get the, ball put their head, down get to the baja,
finish get to the, line score and get back on that.
Bench But Corey brewer actually plays some. Defense you know

(33:07):
WHO i think now he did. GUARD i was gonna.

Speaker 3 (33:10):
Says there's a young kid now in the league WHO
i feel like can resemble a bit Of Corey. Brewer
and that's the kid From, detroit Oh Ron. Holland Ron,
holland because his game is literally one speed downhill attack the,
rim just don't matter who in front of, him just
trying to take off and dunk on.

Speaker 1 (33:29):
EVERYBODY i actually liked. IT i really liked that Colle that's.
Good the last PERSON i want to bring up Is Reggie.
Jackson Reggie jackson also another person that had an opportunity to.
Start he's traded To. Detroit he Replaced Brandon jennings through an.
Injury but his years With oka see kind of, controversial
you know WHAT i, Mean playing Behind, Russ russ gets.

(33:50):
Hurt he always ended up in a situation where he
was the replacement. Guy he was one of Those he
made it, KNOWN i don't want to come off the.

Speaker 2 (33:57):
Bench he, was, okay LIKE i need to be starting,
over rush, Man i'm a, starter and he let it be.

Speaker 4 (34:03):
Known but he let it stop his.

Speaker 2 (34:05):
Play he didn't like let it get to him and
stop his effectingness from coming off the. Bench he still
came off the bench hooping and it was one of
the one of the best six man of the twenty
tenths for, sure early on in his career and even
late in his, career coming damn back to The, clippers
going to The Clippers, denver he had some big games
coming off the.

Speaker 1 (34:25):
Bench, yeah, yeah, NO i mean The Clippers lucky saved
his career it prolonged, it you know WHAT i, mean
getting his confidence. Back you, know you run into a
couple of injuries or there's some doubt and you get.
On you find yourself in a situation the league might
have have you on the, outs but you get, moved
or you signed with that right team that actually believe

(34:46):
and you reconnect with that. Coach anything's. Possible and you,
know he played himself into a starting row and you
know obviously ended up back home In colorado And Wonnie.
Maringe so kudos To reggie jackson man longevity and and
his self belief in himself, too because he could have
easily just kind of fizzled.

Speaker 2 (35:04):
Out, yeah before we get into our top, FIVE i
got a couple of honorable.

Speaker 4 (35:08):
MENTIONS i. GOT i gotta throw in there a couple of.
People we forgot.

Speaker 2 (35:12):
One i'm gonna give A Evan turner shout out shot Sixth.
Man he had some, big some big six man years
out there In. PORTLAND i, know you get some slack
from a lot of fan base and saying he overpaid
because he got that big payday or, whatever and he'll
probably tell you the same. Thing but when you got
to talk about a guy who came off the bench
and had came off the bench had a triple double,
twice two triple doubles off the.

Speaker 4 (35:34):
Bench that's. Special like that's hard to.

Speaker 3 (35:36):
Do.

Speaker 2 (35:36):
Man we talking about triple doubles and, uh all types
of players that do a lot of different stuff off the.
Floor like he could come in big, guard he, could
he could guard one through. Three, really he could play the.
Point SO i gotta show him some LOVES a six.

Speaker 1 (35:48):
Man, yeah, no shouts the et man future guests of the. Show,
yeah he definitely put in work man and obviously one
of your teammates that you, know. Y'all y'all both speak
hardly on each. Other so off of, that we're gonna
take a quick, break but when we come, back we're
gonna give our goat top. Five all, right, man this

(36:26):
is this is the moment that we've been waiting, For
man to go top. Five, Sef i'm gonna let you
kick it off and then delete you next And i'll
close it. Out, actually i'ma let the. Go i'm'a let
the guests go.

Speaker 2 (36:37):
First let them throw out this top five so we
can dissect it who you got.

Speaker 1 (36:42):
AND i like to judge, Man i'll be judging over.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
Here so you want my top five of the twenty
ten goat six man twenty.

Speaker 3 (36:51):
Tens, uh number five of twenty.

Speaker 4 (36:56):
Tens some of the names we ran, THROUGH h, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (37:02):
I'm A i'm a, man that's. Tough i'll probably go
with J. R even though you know he is sort
of that overlap, guy but just knowing that what he,
DID i, mean he put the. Ball he put the
ball in the hoop for. Sure, uh number, Four i'm
gonna probably, ACTUALLY i actually like you bringing up E.

(37:24):
T So i'm gonna go With i'm gonna go With
evan from my from my four BECAUSE i feel like
it's the same realm of you, know trying to sacrifice
obviously him being a number two pick and an adjusting
his game towards the middle later parts of his. Career
three and, Two, uh to toss, Up i'm going j

(37:45):
crossover and lou Will i'll let let.

Speaker 4 (37:50):
Three into.

Speaker 3 (37:51):
Two you, Know i'm gonna, go, yeah all, Right i'm gonna, Go,
hm Lou well three crossover to and then number. One
i'm a reward winning So i'm gonna go With andre
coming over sacrificing his game and you, know getting them

(38:14):
four chips and you Know jersey and The.

Speaker 2 (38:16):
RAFTERS i brought Up et AND i didn't think he
was gonna be in the top, five BUT i respected
that's my. Guy, Alright i'm gonna start off my number.
Five got six man of the twenty, tens number, five
The Taj. Gibson LIKE i, said if you if you're
gonna be have a long run playing for TIBs and

(38:37):
get major minutes off the, bench that's that said something to.
Me SO i got respect for The taj gives six
man running In chicago And New york everywhere.

Speaker 4 (38:48):
Else he was number. FOUR i got J. R.

Speaker 2 (38:51):
Smith, okay electricity off the bench coming, in changing the,
game a lot of, highlights a lot of questionable. Shots
but that's my number. Four number, Three i'm gonna pick number.
THREE i Got Andre. Goadala oh he was, yeah h
my number, three the monster coming off to like he,
said he was a he borderline fake six, man real

(39:11):
started to come off the. Bench BUT i mean he he,
sacrificed he, changed he changed the way he, played changed
the game to be a six. Man SO i gotta
show on some love for that number. Two and now
the number one one and two IS i feel like
a lot of people gonna have it between Lou will
And Jay, crossover but number two is Lou will number
One Jay crossover BECAUSE i just feel Like Jay crossover

(39:32):
averaging eighteen off the benches, crazy Lou will was consistent
like he has fifteen SIXTEEN a lot of, Times Jay
crossover was coming off the bench and leading your team
and scoring a lot of nights like he was a straight.
Bucket SO i Got jamal Cross over the best Six
man of the twenty tens three after he got three
Six man of The year, awards.

Speaker 3 (39:52):
Three of him and lou both got.

Speaker 4 (39:54):
Three he got.

Speaker 2 (39:54):
Three, yeah, yeah they didn't have both of them on
the six minute of The year. Trophy just throw them.

Speaker 1 (39:59):
On they earned. It they earned, it. MAN i respect, That.

Speaker 3 (40:02):
But then, Wait, trey before you start to even think about.
That you're talking about that man coming off averaging eighteen a.
Game talk about how like the game's changed or has
the or has it changed as? Much because you look
at even when your pops won.

Speaker 4 (40:18):
IT i think one of ninety six he was.

Speaker 3 (40:21):
Averaging fifteen sixteen or something like. That when he Wanted
Peyton pritchard this year averaged. Fourteen so it's, like even
you look at the landscape of the, game how much
faster the game's, gotten how much more shooting all that,
stuff and it's, like not to it's no, disrespect but it's,
like imagine what his sixteen back then would be now

(40:41):
probably similar to. That you, Know Jamal.

Speaker 1 (40:44):
Cross might be a little bit. More he might be
they might force him in the, start and he would
have never been in that. Situation you know What i'm. Saying,
yeah for definitely would have averaged a dove for. Sure All, right,
Man i'm, like you, Know i'm gonna be a little bit. Dramatic,
MAN i got my twin on their since he called
him yellow. Man SO i got FIVE, a FIVE, b
so FIVE. B ACTUALLY i Got trends at FIVE b

(41:08):
And Sean livingston at FIVE. A, Right, Okay at FOUR
i got my twin L o The, goods and then
THREE i Got, iggy you know WHAT i. Mean shouts
to the winners and all, That but you, KNOW i,
LIKE i like the keeper of the, awards you know
WHAT i, Mean like when you think about the trophy,
case who does this? Thing like IF i had a

(41:32):
young person coming in and, saying you, know What you're
not gonna be the first, Option you're not gonna be
the second, option but you could be these Two number
TWO i got Sweet Lou lou will and then at
One jay. Crossover, yeah that that one two is is
there's a separation before it becomes three and all, that
but the One, yeah they they're they sitting there comfortable

(41:56):
because when you think about consistent scoring plays ran for
but also What jamal sticks out and separates number one
what you mentioned earlier in the SHOW D league fifty
ball at Forty you know WHAT i, Mean, like who's
still getting those looks that late in their career that
isn't Named. Lebron you know What i'm, Saying, Kobe you,

(42:19):
KNOW i mean The kd's of the, world the steps
of the world that actually still gets up over twenty
attempts that long in their. Career he played nineteen, seasons
and he's been known to be nothing but a, Bucket
like literally nothing but a. Bucket we don't want nothing,
else you a guarant don't Let scotting report probably. Crazy

(42:39):
we y'all played against. Him what was The scotton report
On Jamal?

Speaker 4 (42:42):
Crawford hope he.

Speaker 3 (42:45):
Missed to me make him take tough. Shots that's.

Speaker 4 (42:48):
It hope he missed it even but he making. Them
he trying to embarrass.

Speaker 1 (42:51):
You, bah he was, tight he making. Moves That Wes
matthews video is probably one of the craziest Videos Shousta West.
Matthews but Like bruh tried to, trip he got you beat.

Speaker 2 (43:05):
And he's still making. Him he trying to embarrass you
out there like bah blah. Blah it ain't just about.
Scoring i'm trying To i'm trying to send a.

Speaker 1 (43:11):
Message probably could have had more points if he wasn't
trying to put on the.

Speaker 4 (43:15):
Show in, fact that's.

Speaker 1 (43:16):
The crazy thing about.

Speaker 4 (43:17):
It you're, Right you're.

Speaker 1 (43:19):
Right you was getting your money's, worth and any jersey
he put, on he was making it happy In, atlanta
you know WHAT i, mean even At Golden State. Stand
that's WHEN i first met him Before steph got, there
AND i just was like they traded Out arranton for.
Him i'm still trying to process it BECAUSE i remember
he was In, chicago but he didn't really get like
to get off like he wanted. To and he got
there AND i was just, like, yo, dude, cold he.

(43:43):
Cold he don't talk. Much he just he walking backwards.
DRIBBLING i ain't never seen nothing like.

Speaker 4 (43:48):
That he brought the.

Speaker 1 (43:49):
Playground but it was just so, fluid you know WHAT i.
Mean and that's like one of my homies to this. Day,
Man but Maul cross still can go get a.

Speaker 4 (43:55):
Bucket nobody Had James. Harden they top.

Speaker 1 (43:57):
Five, YEAH i can't do, it can't do, it, Shout
yeah it.

Speaker 3 (44:04):
Was it was only three years and then after that
it was ALL.

Speaker 4 (44:08):
Nba so it's a different.

Speaker 2 (44:10):
Conversation, YEAH i mean the REASON i had j crossover
in Lou will and my one two Over, iguodala like
they made a career out of being six, Man iggy
was already who he was No All, Stars, yeah he
was a Previous All.

Speaker 1 (44:23):
Star that should be that should be a knock against.
You what that should be a knock against you if
you Make All? Star oh, yeah in this, conversation you
know WHAT i, mean because that means you're you're you're
literally a star that year for One, yeah, right like
you're you're. Above there's a there's a dotted, line and
you really think about, it there's guys that are right

(44:43):
under that dotted, line and there's guys over it and
when you're over that dotted, line you are considered to
be the top twenty four players a.

Speaker 2 (44:51):
League you're making my point WHEN i was talking about
Man Ne genobi was An All, star why didn't you
bring this up in the in the two thousand? Discussion
just now thinking about, it, man you're making. Me you,
know that's the, thing that's the build. Up, man we get, better,
man We edually nobody was Making all star teams coming
off the. Bench come, on, man put them in the start.

Speaker 1 (45:11):
Lineup That, yeah that that changes a whole lot of,
things because there's a there's. There you either above that
line or you under that. Line AND i only can
respect them under the line because those dudes aren't getting those.
Shots they're never getting that. Shot they're not getting on the,
ballot they're not getting. Voted they're a pivotal person to
your success as, winning but they're never getting the accolade

(45:35):
of like a signature, shoe you know WHAT i. Mean
it's more easier to get a signature shoe now because
it's more brands to kind of like fluctuate that that
that that, cash but like a true signature shoe where
you're leading the face of This no. Six man's getting that,
man no commercials.

Speaker 2 (45:53):
They got they gotta get they love in these type
of conversations and not getting they love when it talks
to bests best that it's only you come to one
of these pods when you showing love to these type of.

Speaker 1 (46:02):
People we're gonna take a quick, break but when we come,
back we're gonna have to discuss. Stuff born in The Wrong.
Era you don't want to miss? Out all, Right, well

(46:27):
we get to show more. Love, man we got this
topic Called born in The Wrong, era D. Lee i'm
gonna start with you since you're the, guest let me
explain it to him.

Speaker 4 (46:35):
First, yeah, Yeah born in The Wrong.

Speaker 2 (46:38):
Era we talked about different, players whether so you got
a player or who might have been better in this.
Era say we were talking about the eighties of the,
nineties their skill, set the way they play could have
been better and they would have been better in today's.
Era or even you could take a player from the twenty,
tens twenty twenties and say they would have been as
good or even better in the eighties and. Nineties so

(47:00):
that's how boring The wrong air segment you got? Anybody,
YEAH i got uh, oh that's a good.

Speaker 3 (47:05):
ONE i got two. PEOPLE i Got Tony, Kuko, okay,
YEAH i feel Like tony in this era with, problem
like big time, Problem like he's he's. Unbelievable so, Yeah
i'm Going i'm going with him obviously six you, Know
I'll tallly six nine to six, Ten lefty shoot literally

(47:27):
do it. All but, also who's he playing. With he's
playing on arguably one of the greatest teams of all,
time with the greatest player all with one of the
greatest players of all, Time so you, know being able
to showcase his talent in this. ERA i like that.
One and Then i'm going even, Well i'm going even
still towards the latter of his, career same type of,
mold But Antoine. Jamison he's one of those guys that

(47:50):
had all the touch, shots the, floaters the unorthodox. Stuff
cause still attack the, rim, dunket shoot it six, nine six,
Ten but obviously not while he as a, starter but
the latter part of his, CAREER i feel like even
that in this day and, age would still be still
get to get his.

Speaker 2 (48:07):
Recognition we talked About twine and the Sixth man of
the two, thousands was? It and, yeah he was like
he was like a frilly career. Starter but he had
one year where he came.

Speaker 4 (48:17):
Off the bench And.

Speaker 1 (48:19):
Cleveland, yeah so that's a that's a good one right.

Speaker 2 (48:23):
There i'm born in the wrong Era for today's, Pod
i'm going with a NAME i probably haven't heard in a.

Speaker 4 (48:29):
While in His freedom in his, Cannon.

Speaker 1 (48:32):
Okay, okay.

Speaker 4 (48:35):
Cannon a, bucket, okay a post post player. BUCKET i
played WHEN i.

Speaker 1 (48:40):
Ain't heard no positive talk about bru in a. Minute
SO i love.

Speaker 4 (48:43):
This scored the ball rebound, Too, yeah scoring rebound like.

Speaker 2 (48:48):
HE i played with him In portland the year we
went to The Western conference finals and he was a
walking double. Double now he couldn't guard a, Soul and
it's then that's why it's kind of his career. Ended
one of the REASONS i would say his career ended
like he couldn't guard. Anybody the game was moving away
from post players and things like. That but if you
put him in the nineties the, eighties he would have

(49:10):
been like a bucket to go to dumping down to
him in the post fifteen twenty times a. Night he
give me twenty five and ten. Easy so in his,
cannon in His, Freedom i'm born in the wrong.

Speaker 1 (49:24):
Era mine's kind of lay up Man, lamaro straight. Up,
yeah like Goods man twenty, tens twenty. Twenties give, him give,
him give him the rock, twin let him clear, out he,
getting he getting to The, baja he, finishing he, got
he passed. MAN i, mean probably a similar model To Ben,

(49:46):
simmons you know WHAT i mean during Those All star.
Years you know WHAT i, mean from what what he,
can BUT i think the scoring average would be a
little bit, higher you know WHAT i, mean because he's
actually getting those. Looks but he's unselfish enough to make
the right play and he can. Defend probably the most
comple player and would have been an absolute.

Speaker 4 (50:02):
Problem that's what everybody looking for in today's.

Speaker 2 (50:04):
Game that that, long sixteen to six eleven wing ford
who can guard, everybody can fit different modes on. Offense
that's what every team.

Speaker 3 (50:14):
Needs let me ask you, this Uh, manu do y'all
think him in this in this era as?

Speaker 4 (50:20):
Well oh, yeah he would have been good in any.
Era to, me he would have.

Speaker 1 (50:24):
Been good in Any oh. Yeah. TRUE i, say nobody
gonna Stop bro for real because he, lefty but he
sneakily dunking on you shooting the.

Speaker 3 (50:32):
Three you know the Euro, yeah and you pulled that.

Speaker 4 (50:37):
Out his defense is.

Speaker 1 (50:38):
Underrated, too you.

Speaker 3 (50:39):
Know, yeah for.

Speaker 1 (50:40):
SURE i think that's a whole nother. Conversation but, yeah he's. Sure,
yeah he.

Speaker 2 (50:45):
Kind of am trying to who it, says SOMEBODY i
could compare it to in today's. Game just, unorthodox lefty type,
guard kind of like a Bigger Donovan mitchell maybe than.

Speaker 1 (50:56):
Me LIKE i was Thinking Donovan mitchell, man but just,
man he the fan, Better.

Speaker 4 (51:02):
Yeah he guard, better but, yeah just the way they play,
offensively like just in tight spaces.

Speaker 1 (51:09):
SHOT i, Mean i'd be wanting to Give spider a
little bit more love just because he's six. Too, yeah
you know WHAT i, Mean like he played six to
one six foot because he got long, arm play so
much bigger than what he, is you know WHAT i.
Mean we and we given a comp from a six
to seven you know guard.

Speaker 3 (51:25):
Forward that's what.

Speaker 1 (51:26):
Did that's how he went in among the trees and
finished when you ain't think he.

Speaker 3 (51:30):
Could i'll give y'all a Quick donovan. Story, so so
we was In, louisville, Obviously so that was my fifth.
Year he was a freshman the man could barely make
like one foot, layups like going up off one foot
and make. Layups every every everything was always two foot, jump, layup,
dunk all that. Stuff but his game just started growing
and growing towards the middle of his freshman. Year you,

(51:54):
know if you're on the starting, team you got specific
plays you gotta. Do you on the second, unit you
kind of get free and do everything you. Want he
was on the second. Unit it was a point where
we stopped practice and we looked at, him and dudes were, like,
yeah it's. Happening his nickname after that with, sliders you,
know like when you play TWO k and turned the game.

(52:15):
Sliders so, yeah it was the most unbelievable. Stuff we'
don'e ever seen heat between the legs doing all the
stuff that he doing. Now was doing all that stuff,
then and then you, know fast forward sophomore. Year the
starting point guard gets, hurt he gets thrust it into
the starting, lineup learns how to play that combo, point
gets drafted By Denver trader To Utah rubio gets. Hurt

(52:37):
it's basically carbon copy from his previous year in. College
and then look at him now eight years, later, unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (52:44):
Figured it, out took.

Speaker 1 (52:45):
Off, yeah that's a great. Story, YEAH i think we covered.

Speaker 3 (52:48):
Everything D.

Speaker 1 (52:49):
Lee we definitely got to get you back on this
for a part. Too for Show Man steth tell him
where they can find?

Speaker 2 (52:56):

did it, again another Pot Go greatest of the era
Six man of the twenty, Tens Trey where you?

Speaker 1 (53:04):
