Speaker 1 (00:03):
I'm Mary Kay mcbraer, host of the Greatest True Crime
Stories Ever Told. I write about true crime, which means
I live in the research wormhole. But I'm not necessarily
interested in the headline grabbing elements, the blood and the gore,
all of that. I'm more interested in the people behind
these stories, in what we can learn by looking at

(00:23):
their experiences. You can meet me every week starting February
eleventh on the Greatest True Crime Stories Ever Told, where
I dig into crimes where a woman is not just
a victim. She might be the detective, the lawyer, the witness,
the coroner, the criminal, or some combination of those roles.
I delve into the good, the bad, the difficult, and

(00:46):
all the nuance I can find, because these are the
stories we need to know to understand the intersection of society, justice,
and the fascinating workings of the human psyche. We explore
the big names. You might recognize, people like Pamela Smart
and Jennine Jones, but I also want you to meet
people like Penny Farmer, who helped crack the forty years

(01:08):
old case of her brother's murder, Lillie Pierce, who helped
catch a serial killer who was also a woman back
in the nineteen tens, Holly Dunn, who was attacked by
a serial killer and lived to become an advocate for
all survivors. There are so many more. Our team has
been immersed in the archives, We've combed the libraries, we've

(01:28):
interviewed the journalists and the authors, the prosecutors and the investigators,
and we're confident these are truly the greatest true crime
stories ever told. Welcome. Listen to the Greatest True Crime
Stories Ever Told, Season two, starting February eleventh, on the
iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
