Speaker 2 (00:38):
This is the Jody Jones Show on fourtong ninety six
seven and Hey, I'm fourteen hundred.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Hey, good afternoon. Thank you for joining me on the
Jody Jones Show. This is Jody Jones and always is
Frank Van Laneham in studio.

Speaker 4 (00:52):
Good afternoon, folks, thanks for having us.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Hey, We're going to have Simulman District eight, David Tangepaul
on our show in just a little bit. We're going
to be discussing Assembly Bill one three three three Yeah,
what a doozy. Yeah, it's basically infringing on your Second
and Fourth Amendment rights. I mean, if somebody breaks in
your home and you have to use deadly force, you

(01:17):
can absolutely be prosecuted for murder. What do you think
about that? People? Oh my lord, it's just insane, isn't it.

Speaker 4 (01:23):
Well, what's happening in this is definitely against the Fourth Amendment,
against everything we know and hold dear because your first,
if you read the Constitution, we are guaranteed the right
of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And if
the government says I cannot defend myself, then tacitly they
are implying that a perpetrator has every right to victimize me.

(01:45):
I have a duty to be a victim. And at
that point all bets are off. There really is no law.
And this is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen.
But you know, California has a long, rich history of
outdoing it off when it goes down dumb street.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
You know that's that's absolutely correct. It's bought on and
we see it time after time, and and as a
Californian you have to be sick and tired of especially
as a conservative Californian. You know, you're just absolutely sick
and tired of all this craziness come out of Sacramento.
You know, we almost had it in the White House.
We did have it for four years, and look how

(02:24):
that turned out.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
You know.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
Now Trump come in and he's he's he's having common sense,
and and the left their heads are blown.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
Up, they're throwing Temper twenty basically is yeah what I'm seeing,
and you can we can talk in a little bit
about the temper tantrums from all levels.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
Go ahead, Yeah, it's it's it's it's insane. What's really
what's happening right now in California. You know they always
like to say, you know, Governor knwso he likes to say, oh,
you know we we lead in everything. No, we don't,
we're we're it's it's every list that you want to

(03:03):
be on the top of, we're on the bottom. Everything
on the bottom that you want to be on, we're
on the top. It's just absolutely crazy.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
Well, we're the head lemming going over the cliff. If
that's how you want to talk about it, sure.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
Hey, So I'll tell you what, folks, We're going to
have assimilman David Tanye Paul District eight on our show
right now, and he's going to explain to you a
little more about simply Bill one three three three David?

Speaker 5 (03:24):
Are you there? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (03:28):
There you are, buddy. How you doing?

Speaker 5 (03:29):
Man?

Speaker 4 (03:29):
What's going on?

Speaker 6 (03:30):
Partner tigging this place out and getting in trouble?

Speaker 4 (03:33):
Yeah? Yeah right.

Speaker 6 (03:38):
You know, I don't know if they don't like me
or if they fear the truth in itself. So yeah,
we're just having hard conversations. Sometimes it's hard for people
to recognize.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
Yeah, we hear that they're taking you off some of
the you know, stuff that you've been heading up.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
Man.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
It's kind of sad to see what they're doing to
you right now.

Speaker 4 (03:58):
Is it more important for you, David to be liked
or respected?

Speaker 6 (04:04):
You know, it seems like I'm not getting either here,
But so that's okay. I actually don't mind or care
about either. My entire goal is be to just get
people to realize just how bad it is here. And
that's the part where I think really offends people because
they've been in charge for a long time and I
tell them it's your fault.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
Yeah, Hey, why don't you explain everybody about this Assembly
Bill one three three three, that you know, the kind
of some of the dynamics that it would do if
it passes.

Speaker 6 (04:35):
So essentially, I've just been referring to it as the
fleet from Home bill. That it makes it to where
even in your own home self defense could be considered
homicide if the criminal who breaks in doesn't threaten your life.
And that's kind of the easy way to put it,
But it's the the part that it actually creates these

(04:56):
giant issues on you know, how does somebody know at
the time if they break in at twelve o'clock at night?
Am I supposed to wait for the person to hit me?
If they have a bat and I have a gun?
Am I supposed to still jump out of the window
and you know, exhaust all of my abilities to get
away first prior to taking the necessary action that I need, you.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
Know, David. And that's an absolutely wonderful way to put it.
I'm an ex law enforcement officer, I'm retired, and I'm
telling you, you don't know what the other person's intent is.
What you do know is, especially if somebody breaks in
your home, they've already broken that line, you know, of
rational thought, and they're inside your home. What do you

(05:42):
think they're gonna do? I you know, I would They're
gonna They're they're gonna do ill will to you, kill you,
your family. That's what you have to think like that
if they've crossed that line, whether they're inside your home
or they've pulled a gun on you or a bat.
A bat can kill somebody.

Speaker 4 (06:00):
But maybe there's a magic eight ball app or something
like that I can download and say, is this guy
going to hurt me? Then I shake it and look
at it, or what would you recommend?

Speaker 6 (06:08):
Well, it's the part that I tell people now is
I and I actually would just quoting an account matters,
I can tell you this. They're viosca that Bill's definitely
not happy with me now because I told them I
was like, I don't think the indended consequence is this
is that this actually now incentivizes the homeowner to shoot
the kill if somebody breaks in.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (06:27):
And the main reason why is because if it goes
up to a judge or a DA and that person
survives and they were they just say because their word
against yours and they didn't have a gun, but maybe
they did have a bat, they can say, well, I
wasn't there to kill them. I was there just to
steal their car, and they tried to kill me. That
homeowner could now be charged with homicide and murder. But

(06:50):
now that means is the homeowner can prevent that entire
uh that the entire debate by shooting to.

Speaker 3 (06:57):
Kill, you know, I think it also incentivises the criminal
and emboldens the criminal. Now they're going to say, hey,
I can do I can break in a home and
really not have to worry about too many consequences because
that home owner is going to be super scared if
they pull a gun.

Speaker 4 (07:16):
On me, right, and you also have sort of a tacit.
I guess I would say sanctioning of crime because if
you're going to limit what my response is the government
is now saying this is okay for this set of
circumstances to occur, which basically means they're green lighting what

(07:36):
is going on. And at that point, I'm sure constitutionally
this thing gets tossed just because I'm afforded protection against
you know, in my home and my persons in my papers.
That's Fourth Amendment. And if the government is allowing that,
then these people are actually acting on behalf of the government.
Almost it's a bit of a stretch, but I can

(07:57):
see that. And if I'm not safe in my home,
where am I safe?

Speaker 6 (08:01):
That is exactly what I would say. Where if everybody
is supposed to if they had to flee, hopefully they
can flee home. But there's no such thing as fleeing
home when you are there that is supposed to be
your domain. That is exactly what is intended. Is you know,
if you're not safe there, there is nowhere else you
can be safe, and you should take all necessary actions.

(08:24):
Then I've always I've used this scenario too. If there's
an eighty year old woman who you know, somebody breaks
into their house and they don't have a weapon on them,
that man's fist or whoever's fist it is, is more
than enough to kill that eighty year old, you know.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
And I'll tell you what, David. And one step further
is I don't care if you're eighty you can be
you know, a thirty five year old young man that
that's in tip top shape and that person with no
weapon can still kill you.

Speaker 4 (08:54):
Well, what's what's the good argument that they might profer,
you know, for this, Because I'm stretching and I like
to think like the enemy every now and then try
to get inside their head a little bit of if
Frank Van Lanningham sun zoo here. But what if you
were them and you were trying to sell me on this,
what is the argument for it?

Speaker 6 (09:11):
Yeah, you know, for me, I never I never see
them as the enemy. I love quoting Ronald Reagan is
you know, they just know so much that is inaccurate,
and it's the logic behind it is just an anti
gun and also a sympathetic criminal agenda. And I've referred
to it as a criminal first agenda that for some

(09:33):
reason individuals that are stuck in this ideology. And there's
actually a lot of my colleagues up here that are
of the opposite side of the aisle that they don't
agree with it. I actually had one of them come
up to me and said, Hey, I'm a I own
a CCW and I carry as a Democrat, and they're like,
I'm so against this bill because I received death threats

(09:57):
during COVID because you know, they used to be a
on the city council of a different city, and they're like,
we used to get death threats. So me, my husband
and my family we all got our own CCW so
that way can feel safe in our own home. This
individual is a Democrat and said that this is absolutely insane,
and I think there was actually a sense for them

(10:18):
to calm me down. But I think it's just from
a you know, it's kind of like an ideology of
just taking on what they believe for their district is
taking on the gun, lobbying and taking on this and
this is how we wave the flag of I don't know.

Speaker 4 (10:34):
What, but you know, well, they've all been guaranteed that
the home invader vote, haven't they?

Speaker 6 (10:41):
Say that?

Speaker 4 (10:41):
Again? I say, they pretty much locked in the home
invasion vote, haven't they. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (10:46):
You know, it's the part where I don't understand because
a lot of them one don't vote and two can't vote, right, right, right, But.

Speaker 4 (10:53):
Yet they've got loyalty to a bunch of people that
are out to do bad things. And I'm I'm guessing
in a certain sense you might stand back and say, boy,
is this really what you think of your people?

Speaker 3 (11:03):
You know, David, I say this all the time, buddy,
And you've heard me say this before, you know. Every
and here we go again, everything out of Sacramento from
from you know, these the left, the Democrats, is it's
always protecting the criminal, and it's never about the victim,
and and and it's absolutely breaking our communities down, it's

(11:24):
destroying California.

Speaker 6 (11:28):
And it's it's actually this victim mentality that we've seen perpetuated,
it's now into our legislating. It's like, no, they're not
criminals because they are bad people. They're criminals because they
had bad circumstances that led them to criminality. And that
is and it's an ignorant, it's an ignorant sense of
thought that we can solve the world's issues, and we

(11:49):
can solve these types of issues by making others unsafe
by taking away law abiding citizens. And this is why
I've always referred to it as a criminal first agenda
that I've really exposed here. We look at the fifty
million dollars that went to one litigate Donald Trump and
twenty five million dollars for immigrant services and related Jody.

(12:12):
I got up there and I spoke about your story
because I told them that there we need to make
sure that this money doesn't go and protect criminal illegals
that murder, rape, kill, and that was not good enough
to force them to add into the legislation that for
somehow I've started to Gavin Newsom and I have been
on the same page for a little bit here and there,

(12:34):
which is very interesting for me.

Speaker 4 (12:37):
As a result of this, I guess you're becoming a
victim of HR one, aren't you, as far as being
from committees.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
Removed, Yeah, from your committees.

Speaker 6 (12:45):
Yeah, Well the Speaker has sole authority to place and
remove yet.

Speaker 4 (12:49):
Yeah, and that's you know, we all see it for
what it is.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
Well, David, you always know that you have a home
here with me and Frank and the Jody Jones Show.
For sure. You're always welcome on this shew. Thank you
very much for fighting the good fight, fighting for our communities,
fighting for the victims, fighting for the conservative way of life.
Thank you, David. We absolutely appreciate you, and thank you
for coming on, and thank you for taking the time

(13:14):
out of your David.

Speaker 4 (13:15):
Thanks, Brian, I appreciate it.

Speaker 6 (13:17):
Joe, keep sharing the message.

Speaker 3 (13:18):

Speaker 2 (15:25):
The Jody Jones Show on Power Talk ninety six seven
and AM fourteen hundred.

Speaker 3 (15:30):
We just had a great interview with a singleman David
Tangey Paul and he is an absolute fighter. He is
the new breed of the compassion of conservatives that we
need fighting for us in Sacramento, the land of the crazies.

Speaker 4 (15:45):
You know.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
He he mentioned about how he don't like to see,
you know, as see the Democrats as evil or uh,
you know, anything like that, and and I agree with him.
You know, they're not our enemies. Uh, they just have
different thoughts than us. And unfortunately, when you don't think

(16:07):
like them, they want to try to destroy you. And
and that's the unfortunate thing that's going on right now
in our in our justice system. You know that the
Democrats have have have tried to weaponize our justice system,
and they do it quite well. But now they're getting
it turned back and doing and it's Trump's you know,

(16:31):
playing the same cards against them, and and they don't
like it. And they still don't see it. They don't
they don't understand why, you know, they lost the election.
They don't understand why they lost the popular vote, they
lost the Senate, they lost the House. They don't understand.
And that's fine. I'm glad they don't understand. I hope
they keep this rhetoric, rip rhetora up because they will

(16:53):
lose again.

Speaker 4 (16:54):
You're right, they're first and foremost. They're completely out of touch,
and I would expect them to be out of touch.
Most of them are. Let's be honest, these are all
DEI hires.

Speaker 3 (17:05):
And it showed again at the State of the Union.
R Let's talk about that, Frank, Let's let everybody know
our take on that that we.

Speaker 4 (17:11):
Watch last night, yeah, or the other night. Yeah, that
Al Green, not the reverend, Yeah, the pimp with a
limp to pimp with a limp. Yeah, you know, put
on a big show for everybody with his walking stick
and made a fool of himself, was asked to leave,
and as a result, he got censured, and you know,
ten Democrats actually came over to the GOP side and

(17:35):
voted for censure, which, honestly, it's a slap on the wrist.
It doesn't It doesn't really mean that. It doesn't mean what.

Speaker 3 (17:42):
It means a lot, though it does mean a lot
because the Democrats fall in line, man, and for some
of them to break line like that, to come and
step out of line, it's that's huge, man.

Speaker 4 (17:53):
But it doesn't it doesn't destroy them. You can be
impeached and still stay in office. You can be centered
and still stay in office. As far as maintaining one's power,
it does take the temperature of the other Democrats more
than anything else.

Speaker 3 (18:06):
Well, I'm going to tell you what it is. It's
super disrespectful and disgusting what the Democrats did. When President
Trump was honoring the guests he had, I'm going to
tell you something. I was there in twenty twenty. I
was an honorary guest for President Donald Trump. He was

(18:26):
honoring my brother that was murdered by a criminal, illegal alien.
And I'm going to tell you how that feels from firsthand.
I mean first firsthand. I was there, and it rips
your heart out because you're, you know, you're sitting there
and he's talking about you, he's talking about your story,
he's talking about your family man that lost their life,

(18:48):
and you see these people clapping. And then I looked
out and it's a clear Republican and Democrat. They all
sit separately, you know, and they're all just sitting there,
not clapping, just sitting there with their hands folding their lap.
And I remember at the time, you caught up in

(19:11):
the moment anyway, and and just the rush of emotions.
I was crying. But I noticed that, and I'm going
to tell you everybody noticed that, and all the people
notice that. And what I can say about the feeling
is you can't help thinking how disgusting those people are.

(19:34):
Because when when they're talking about your loved one that
was murdered, that's a non partisan issue. And when when
President Trump announced my brother and my name, I don't
care if you're a Democrat, Republican, independent, you know, give

(19:54):
some love. Yes, you don't show that you absolutely that
you that you care. You know, that's telling me they
do not care about anybody. They don't care about any Americans.
They don't care about I don't care. They don't care.
They don't care. They care about stay in power, right
and whatever they have to do, they're going to stay
in power. It's a disgusting display what they're doing. And

(20:17):
you know what, here's what they're doing. They're showing their
true colors right now.

Speaker 4 (20:20):
You're absolutely right. If your family's lost doesn't touch them personally,
they have no soul. If little DJ Daniel, who Trump
honored in the last one cancer survivor, doesn't touch their heart,
and bear in mind This is a little thirteen year

(20:41):
old black kid out of Houston, Texas, same district as
reverend or not the Reverend Al Green was from. If
that doesn't touch your heart, if you can't stand up
and say I support you, you're a good part of
what's right with America. If that doesn't do it for you, Jody,
nothing will right. If honestly, if you can't lose a

(21:02):
brother and I can't have a moment of compassion for you,
that really says more about me than you, right.

Speaker 3 (21:07):
And you know what to follow that up with the media,
you know, the fake media and whatever they want to
call themselves. Now, you know CNN, you have all these
reporters coming on and talking about you know, they're talking
to actually talking about this, this little guy, this little
thirteen year old guy that has probably went through more
than most people have in their whole life at and

(21:30):
he's aged thirteen, you know, and for President Trump to
honor him and that Secret Service made him an honorary
Secret Service, you know how that little guy felt. All
he wants to do is how could you not stand
up and appall that little guy.

Speaker 4 (21:43):
All he wants to do is good. All he wants
to do is help it.

Speaker 3 (21:47):
And like CNN, you have the reporters. You actually had
Sydney Is who was that the the CNN reporter that
came on and said, well, I hope he you know,
if he becomes a police officer, I hope you don't
have to defend the capital, uh with you know, yeah right?
And then I hope you don't you know, when he retires,

(22:08):
I hope you don't commit suicide. Are you kidding me?

Speaker 4 (22:12):
The thing in the world about a child.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
I'm telling you, guys, this is what we're fighting. This
is what we're This is why I do what I
do right now. Because the crazies like that, I absolutely
think that, you know, they are not thinking about the
regular person. They are so out of touch. It's pathetic.

(22:35):
And for them to say things like that, and for
Democrats politicians not to stand up and clap for for
people like, you know, like this little young man, it's
absolutely despicable. How can you not do that? That's that's
showing that you love you know, where you're at, and
and the power more than you love you know, America for.

Speaker 4 (22:58):
The wrong reason.

Speaker 3 (22:59):
I hate the man. And and Trump said it, he said,
I know now, no matter what I do what I say,
the Democrats will not like it. I cannot please the
Democrats no matter what I do. And you know what
that makes President Trump, Uh, that makes him more dangerous
to them now because he knows no matter what he does,

(23:21):
and he really don't care anyway. He cares about the
American people and everything he does. And these tariffs and
and you know, you hear all these people yellow, you know,
the regular person. We're gonna be able to spend. You know,
we're gonna whatever. The tariffs are good for America, absolutely,
and and it's good in the law. You know, I
got so much thing, so much things to say right now.

(23:42):
But I'm telling you what guys think of this. Biden
has he had a four year term and it was
this disastrous. And President Trump he's been off as what
two months, made about two months?

Speaker 4 (23:58):
Yeah, and he hasn't fixed all yeah, four years.

Speaker 3 (24:00):
And that's that's actually what they're saying. Oh, well, I
haven't seen eggs go down. Oh I haven't seen groceries
go down. Oh I haven't seen Really give it time,
because it will, I guarantee you it will.

Speaker 2 (24:10):
Oh.

Speaker 3 (24:10):
This man is a business man.

Speaker 4 (24:12):
No, he totally gets it. And I believe, Jody, there's
a few things that you and I have done together
collaboratively beyond the talk show, And again, thank you for
letting me have a be a part of this. But
with respect to the fundraising, with respect to whether it
was for Corey comparatory, whether it was for a candidate,
whether it was to throw an inaugural ball or whatever,

(24:33):
you and I have never taken a penny. We don't
take a penny here. We don't take a penny there.
Everything here I want. I pray to God every day
that what I do, I do for a higher purpose,
and I do for the right reasons. You and I
you live that, you exemplify that, and that's why I'm
honored to call you my friend. The people that we're
talking about are doing everything they do for selfish reasons.

(24:56):
They are not there to servant. And I will tell
you what I believe. The root cause of this is, Jody,
I go back to their parents. I believe that soft
parenting has created a generation of spoiled children entitled yep,
and that they become horribly entitled adults, and then they
turn around and raise more entitled kids, and the politicians

(25:20):
are entitled. The constituents are entitled. I want free this,
I want free that. I'm entitled to it. These politicians
are entitled to power.

Speaker 3 (25:29):
The media.

Speaker 4 (25:30):
Come on, man, how many of those media people were
a cop in a former life. How many of those
media people spent forty years in a muddy ditch swinging
a hammer, doing heavy, hard work. None of them. They're
out of touch. They're entitled, elitist, limousine you know, shrimp eating,
private yacht writing kind of people. And they have the

(25:50):
gall to think they can speak for us, that they
have our best interest at heart. They truly don't. And
as far as the tariffs, before I go, I'm gonna
turn this back over here.

Speaker 3 (26:02):
We're going to talk about that next week.

Speaker 4 (26:04):
Oh, I gotta wait.

Speaker 3 (26:04):
I don't want a wait. You gotta wait, buddy, because
that's the whole show current anyway.

Speaker 4 (26:09):
Yeah, that's gonna be a great one because there's a
lot to say on these tariffs. A lot of it's misinformation. Yes,
be careful who you listen to, folks.

Speaker 3 (26:17):
Until then, God bless you and God bless America.

Speaker 4 (26:19):
Thanks, folks, good things and God blessing you.

Speaker 2 (26:22):
