he's been doing this with us for fifteen years overall

hungry children, I'm going to dress up again.

and the Pastathon and Bruno.

For a long time now nine years, nine years.

Yeah, and I know people are showing up at Smart
and Finals all over.

Yes, they are in California, Nevada and Arizona, right.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
And I know one time I was in a Smart
and Final and I actually heard myself on the intercom.

Wasn't that exciting?

That was exciting?
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Actually everyone should experience that one absolutely, it'll be pushing
around a lot of toilet paper and paper towels like,
oh that's me, look at that. So talk about the
involvement and why you do it with Bruno and what
it's meant to Smart and Final.
Speaker 4 (02:10):
Well, like you, it's about feeding the kids, it's about
giving back to our local communities. It's about making sure
that we're involved in all the right places for all
the right reasons. And you know what Bruno's doing, you know,
where the money is going, and you know that they're
feeding kids, and Smart and Final and our foundation recognize

the opportunity of being a part of something better than ourselves,
giving back and supporting an organization that does what they
say they're going to do, and that is feeding the children.
That's exactly what they're using the money for. So how
could you not be a part of it all? It's
such so positive in every way.

Yeah, and I want people to trust this because we've
been involved for so long with Bruno and Caterina's Club,
as has Smart and Final, and you know.

There really is a tremendous number of.

Kids you got fat all over Southern California and beyond
because of him. So now people go to Smart and Final,
how can they donate?

So when you go to Smart and Final and you
go shopping, you just as you're going through the line
like you normally would check out, you will see the
pin pad there and on there it will ask you
and you also see a little card at the top
of the pin pad asking you to make the donation
to Kathedyinis Club for the pastathon and please know one

hundred percent comes back to Katharina's Club.

Yeah, and in turn, Bruno spends one hundred percent of
it on feeding the children. Absolutely, that's that's the that's

but this is a local community where we can really
help out locally where our restaurants are.

Yeah, I mean we had Chef Brunner on before and
trying to envision that there's twenty five thousand hungry children
every day every day, you know who show up at
the various locations. That's a tremendous amount of hunger, a
tremendous amount of need.

It's unbelievable that he's doing what he's doing. I mean,
you just think the wealthiest country in the world, right,
but we can't feed our kids.

Now, we have told us about one family.

Mother is six kids in a hotel room and they've
been there for twelve years. But because we're raised in
the hotel room, which I can't fathom. I can't even understand.
So it's really great that Wendy's is helping out these families.

But you know one that just shows you what one
guy can do, right, you know, I mean it started
with his mom, but one guy can do unbelievable things.
I mean, my hat's off to him.

Actually everyone should experience that one absolutely, it'll be pushing

it's meant to Smart and Final.

Well, like you, it's about feeding the kids, it's about
giving back to our local communities. It's about making sure
that we're involved in all the right places for all
the right reasons. And you know what Bruno's doing, you know,
where the money is going, and you know that they're
feeding kids, and Smart and Final and our foundation recognize

the opportunity of being a part of something better than ourselves,
giving back and supporting an organization that does what they
say they're going to do, and that is feeding the children.

Then the show sounded great driving all the way down
from La thank you only two and a half hours
from Bourbon two and a half Yeah, whoa isn't that
the slogan around here? The only two and a half
hours from wherever you live? And then some idiot forgot
to drive.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
What's up? CROs how you bob. Some idiot forgot to
drive drove.
Speaker 7 (24:51):
Into a dump truck, and that dump truck turned over
and I was right behind it for twenty minutes, Is
that right?
Speaker 1 (24:57):
Yeah? I'm like, come on, I got a car full pasta.
I gotta get going.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
I always think about the guy in the front row
for one of those things. Oh I no, yeah, he said,
an overturned truck yet.
Speaker 1 (25:06):
And there's one guy and you know he's sitting there
going good lord. It was if I was a half
a second fast, right, that's right.
Speaker 7 (25:12):
If I had left, if I, you know, one half
second I left.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
Earlier, or I would have been in the act. That's right.
Speaker 7 (25:18):
The truck would have fallen on you, right, But I was.
I was just hoping and praying that nobody rear ended
me because I have all the pasta sauce in my car,
and I would have just destroyed the whole way.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
I would have been a mess, That's right, that's right,
all right. So you but we we uh, we got
a lot going on.
Speaker 7 (25:33):
We've got a lot of guests, We've got the the
Garden Grove police officers are coming in. Of course, Bruno
is going to be with us. We've got some great
advertisers who have donated some money. And then we have
three and fifty pounds no, I'm sorry, two hundred and
(25:54):
sixty pounds of pasta and sauce.
Speaker 1 (25:57):
Wow. Yeah, it's a lot. It's all stale. Well, it
was in a hot car for two and a half hours.
Speaker 7 (26:05):
All the craft that expired in our pantry. Let those
kids eat that, all right.
Speaker 1 (26:14):
Colway's coming up next, and I'm gonna go home, and
you're here too late. That's right.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
It's an extra bonus hour. That's all the way to
eight o'clock tonight.
Speaker 7 (26:23):
So, by the way, I saw your wife outside. She's
always very nice to me. Yes, and she's up for
two big awards. Yes, she is at the La Press
Club on Sunday. That's a big deal, that's right, for
