me to talk about while I'm guest hosting the show,
any questions you might have. It makes things far more
(00:28):
interesting and interactive to know what's on your mind.
Speaker 3 (00:32):
This hour, we're going to.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Talk about Governor Gavin Newsom lying about the I five
freeway closure that.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
He ordered for no reason.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
That caused all sorts of bad traffic in Camp Pendleton
between Orange County and San Diego this weekend, and he
tried blaming it on President Trump and then said.
Speaker 3 (00:53):
Oh, there's some.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
Sharpnel hit a car, Lie, and there's an easy way
to prove it. We also want to get into some
of your talkback questions and comments, so keep them coming.
Use the iHeartRadio app talkback feature. But first we're gonna
begin with the news Today a press conference of LA
(01:18):
Democrat politicians.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
Saying they're gonna go get Ice.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
They're gonna target Ice, and they're gonna arrest Ice, and
they're gonna prosecute Ice.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
No, you're not.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
They have not a single leg to stand on. But
let's see if we can unravel this mystery. Here, Michael
Monks from Monks from the KFIM six forty.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
Studio.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Michael, you've been covering this story. So what exactly are
they investigating Ice for Carl.
Speaker 4 (01:48):
What they're asking for is a congressional investigation into what
they see as multiple abuses of federal immigration or I
should say, by federal immigration agents against not just suspected
illegal immigrants, but also US citizens. This press conference today
featured LA Mayor, Bass Congressman Robert Garcia, the Democrat from
(02:09):
Long Beach, multiple members of the La City Council, and
also multiple immigration activist groups. Now it's not new to
learn from these folks that they think federal immigration agents
have been behaving badly or illegally or unconstitutionally. What's different
this time is that they've called for a congressional investigation,
(02:31):
and they have featured a member of Congress in Robert Garcia,
and he happens to be the ranking member on the
House Oversight Committee. Democrats are in the minority there, but
he does say that hearings can happen, and that a
hearing will happen here in Los Angeles.
Speaker 3 (02:46):
Here's a bit of what he said.
Speaker 5 (02:47):
We know that right now in these detention facilities, a
majority of the people that are being detained have not
committed a crime. Democrats are going to record and create
an investigative unit here to ensure that in Los Angeles
we look into every single brutal misconduct.
Speaker 3 (03:07):
That ICE is committee.
Speaker 5 (03:09):
We're beholding the very first hearing from Oversight and the
Senate here in Los Angeles.
Speaker 4 (03:15):
So it sounds like we may have some visitors from
DC in LA. Yeah, at some point, Carl.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
So it's not a real criminal agency that's investigating. It's
the Congress, and it's not a committee that is going
to authorize this hearing or investigation because Democrats are not
in charge. This is the Democrat members getting together saying
they're going to hold their own hearing, organize their own hearing,
(03:43):
and I'm sure only have their own witnesses. How is
this any different than a kangaroo court. I mean, it
doesn't sound like this is a legitimate investigation that they announced,
it sounds like it's show voting and grandstanding.
Speaker 4 (03:54):
Well, if you're a fan of political theater, regardless of
wish political party has the chairmanship, whichever political party is,
you know, leading the House of Representatives, it's typically House
Oversight Committee meetings that have drawn the most headlines because
they do bring in some controversial witnesses to be either
interrogated or to support an argument that a congress person
(04:17):
is making. And so if you're expecting a show here
in Hollywood, I think the House Oversight Committee's Democratic members
may be able to provide that, but they are not
without some authority to compel folks at least to come
and talk about the actions that have been taking place.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
No one's going.
Speaker 4 (04:36):
To be arrested on site here. You're correct to note
that the Democrats don't have a lot of power in
the Congress, but they do have the power at least
to put on this hearing.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
This show. You can call it a show, I suppose.
Well you called it political theater. I think you nailed it.
I mean it is political theater.
Speaker 4 (04:54):
Well, there's a lot of political comment that's taking place,
particularly with Oversight Committee, because it seems and this is
me perhaps editorializing when I shouldn't be. But a lot
of these committee hearings are often opportunities for elected officials
to get that viral moment that they're looking for. That's
what they want, I think more than any like result,
(05:15):
is like, can I say something that gets me retweeted?
Speaker 3 (05:17):
That's kind of the goal, and I think that's what
will happen here. Michael Monks, thanks so much for covering
the story. You got it.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
So let's talk about this just you and me. Right, So,
all the media is in a lather over Oh.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
They're going to go after Ice. They're going to investigate Ice.
Ice did something illegal.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
Do you understand how heinously awful these politicians are. What
they're doing is smearing good men and women in law
enforcement who are just doing their job.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
And not only are they just doing their.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
Job, they're doing a job that is worthy and is
legal and is justified.
Speaker 3 (06:01):
Ice is here to enforce immigration laws.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
If you don't like the law, you can repeal it.
But we do have immigration laws. We're supposed to have
a secure border, Thank goodness, President Trump has done that.
But in the last administration they didn't want to enforce
that law.
Speaker 3 (06:18):
No, no, let's just open the doors and let everyone in.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
Hence why we now have this ICE challenge because all
those people that got in now need to be escorted out.
Many of them are criminals committing crimes. Oh no, no, no,
but we can't possibly hand a criminal over to ICE
to deport No, in California, we.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
Need to shield the criminal, release.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
That criminal onto the streets so they can reoffend and
create more victims.
Speaker 3 (06:44):
That's exactly what Democrats stand for.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
They're not for a secure border, and there's certainly not
for the enforcement of our immigration laws. The only people
breaking the law here are the Democrat politicians, Let's be
quite clear about but they have the audacity the venom
to falsely smear ICE agents as somehow doing something wrong.
(07:13):
I wish that we could sue them for libel and slander,
but you know, the politicians have done such a great
job manipulating the laws so they are never held accountable.
Coming up, It's worse than just smearing them. What about
signing a law that makes it easy for cartels to
(07:36):
kill them? Oh yeah, that's exactly what Governor Gappin Newsom
has done. And now we are seeing an alarming report
from the Department of Homeland Security that the cartels are
offering cash bounties for the identity of ICE agents. I
wonder what they're gonna do with the identity of an
(07:56):
ICE agent once they find it courtesy of the Avenuesom
signing a law doxing the ICE agents coming up will sort.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
All that out. And why I've called on Newsom to
suspend a law he literally just signed last week because
of the risk to public safety. All that and more.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
Carl de Myles sitting in for John Coblt on AM
six forty KFI.
Speaker 6 (08:21):
You're listening to John Cobelt on demand from KFI Am sixty.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
We're talking about immigration and the fact that California Democrat
politicians are slandering and libeling the good men and women
who are trying to keep us safe.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
They're accusing them with no.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
Foundation, no justification, accusing ICE agents of breaking the law.
Any other time that you knowingly accused someone of breaking
a law, being a criminal, that's what they're saying.
Speaker 3 (08:58):
That you're the criminal law.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
Enforcement if you do so with malice, and it's clear
that the Democrats hate law enforcement and you do so wrongly,
you can be sued for libel and slander and their damages.
But no, not the politicians. They've exempted themselves from this endeavor,
(09:20):
this protection that normal people have to abide by, so
they get to smear federal law enforcement. Worse than that,
it's not just calling them names and demeaning the profession
and undermining them.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
Oh yeah, it's putting their lives on the line.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
It's putting their lives at risk, their families at risk.
Senate Bill six twenty seven, signed by Governor Gavin Newsom,
passed by the Democrat politicians supported by Karen Bass, makes
it a crime for someone in law enforcement to hide
their identity as they're doing their job. They say, we're gonna,
(10:04):
you know, prevent ice from wearing masks.
Speaker 3 (10:08):
Well.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
SB six twenty seven, First and foremost is unconstitutional. You
can't tell law enforcement at the federal level what they
can and cannot do. Second, so much for being consistent
or principled. Newsome in the Democrats at the state level
exempted state law enforcement because state law enforcement said, if
you do that, we won't protect you. Third, it only
(10:30):
applies to local police who they're.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
Controlled by Karen Bass.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
Oh but you know, they made a big deal about
passing this law. It's all chum in the water for
their rapidly anti law enforcement base.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
But it's worse.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
Newsom is now working hand in glove with the cartels
because the cartels. According to an advisory, an alarming advisory
from the Department of Homelanscurity issued in the past week,
the cartels are now offering two thousand dollars if you
give them the identity of an ICE agent. They're offering
(11:12):
up to fifty thousand dollars if you kidnap or assassinate
any of the senior ICE officials. This is foul, This
is dangerous, and Gavin Newsom is facilitating it with the
(11:32):
signing of this bill. ICE is doing its job to
enforce laws that say that if you're here illegally in
this country, we can ask you to leave. You're not
supposed to come in illegally and stay. That is the law.
(11:55):
ICE is doing their job. You don't like the law,
try to change it because the American people support that law,
and ICE isn't just simply saying well, let's just get
rid of everybody. They have a protocol to focus on criminals.
But no, Karen bass is sitting there, saying people should
(12:18):
be allowed to remain even if they're criminal, especially if
they're criminal, because the sanctuary law does not really apply
to just regular.
Speaker 3 (12:28):
Run of the mill illegal immigrants.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
The sanctuary law is specifically written to apply to illegal
immigrants who've also committed another crime outside of their immigration
status and are in state or local custody. The sanctuary
law says that when an illegal immigrant is in state
or local custody, they cannot be handed over to ICE.
(12:52):
They have to be protected and re released. Karen Bass
and Gavin Newsom are trying to hide the identity of criminals.
They don't want to hide the identity of ICE agents.
They want out the ICE agents and put them at risk.
But they sure as hell want to make it illegal
for anyone to disclose whether a criminal is here illegally.
(13:15):
Do you know that it is now state law, and
it has been state law for about five years, that
the court and a police officer, a school official, a
health director, no government official can reveal the immigration status
of someone who breaks the law. It's against the law
(13:38):
for them to say, you know, not only did they
murder someone, but they were here illegally. You are violating
state law when you do that. Even though I think
it would be quite important for the public to know
how many crimes are committed by people here illegally, but
the Democrats don't want you to know that because they
know that those crimes are on their hands. The blood
(14:00):
is on their hands for anyone who's killed or hurt
by an illegal immigrant that they have facilitated to come
into this country. Look, if you want an open border,
then argue for an open border. I think you're wrong.
The American people think you're wrong. California voters think you're wrong.
(14:21):
But don't try to say, well, I'm not trying to
change any laws. But ICE there are a bunch of
thugs and they're breaking the law and we should throw
them in jail, and you should not respect them.
Speaker 3 (14:33):
They're racists. Most of the ICE agents are black and brown.
Speaker 2 (14:42):
This is dangerous rhetoric and it needs to stop because
someone's gonna get hurt. And SB six twenty seven dox
is the identity of ICE agents, while the cartels are
giving bounties cash bounties for their identity. Coming up, Gavin
Newsom lied about why he shut down the freeway in
front of Camp Pelton. This weekend, and I've got the
(15:04):
receipts to prove it. All that and more as I
host for John Cobelt Carl DeMaio on KFI AM six forty.
Speaker 6 (15:12):
You're listening to John Cobels on demand from KFI AM
six forty.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
You can hear the show live everywhere on the iHeartRadio app,
and I want you to use that app right now
because in the next segment, I am going to respond
to your questions and listen to your feedback on any issue.
So use the talk back feature on the iHeartRadio app.
Shoot off a question and I'll get to as many
as we can in the next segment. Also, just a reminder, please,
(15:41):
we need your help in getting a million signatures on
the California Voter ID Initiative petition.
Speaker 3 (15:48):
And we are needing volunteers.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
So if you have not signed the petition yet, it
is super simple to sign.
Speaker 3 (15:56):
Go to the website.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
Voter ID Initiative VOTERID Initiative dot com or just reform
California dot org and download, print, sign and mail back
your petition. You also can request a volunteer kit. I
will pay the postage to send you extra petitions so
(16:17):
that you can collect with your friends and family at
voter id Initiative dot com, or just come to one
of our events that we're holding all around the state.
The events are on that website as well, voterid Initiative
dot com. This weekend traffic was a complete mess. Oh.
I know you're like, well, how's that any different than
any other weekend in LA and southern California. I'm talking
(16:41):
about an intentional gridlock created by a California governor, Gavin Newsom,
when he's shut down by order of the governor, shut
down the five Freeway from San Clemente to Oceanside right
in front of the Camppendleton Marine Base.
Speaker 3 (17:00):
He claimed.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
Dishonestly, he claimed falsely that there was a danger.
Speaker 3 (17:08):
What was the danger? The Marines are doing an exercise.
Speaker 2 (17:13):
Haven't they done that since Camp Pendleton opened in the
early nineteen hundreds. Why yes, But Gavin Newsom, he's not
interested in your safety. If he were interested in your safety,
he wouldn't have let the crime wave that we've experienced
with the last ten years get out of hand.
Speaker 3 (17:32):
No, no, no, no.
Speaker 2 (17:33):
He's interested in chum in the water to get attention
in the media, to pretend like he's attacking Donald Trump.
He is literally creating a traffic jam for politics, plain
and simple.
Speaker 3 (17:52):
But Carl, wasn't there a military exercise?
Speaker 2 (17:55):
Yes, there was, and each military exercise at Campeal, and
I know because I represent San Diego County, they have
protocols that they had to follow for public safety, and
this exercise had no risk to public safety, zero zip, nada.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
Newsom falsely began his lockdown.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
You know the guy that locked down the economy for
six months, why would you put it past.
Speaker 3 (18:29):
Him to lock down the freeway for no good reason?
Speaker 2 (18:33):
Lock down the freeway, saying, well, Trump requested it, No,
he didn't.
Speaker 3 (18:38):
DoD immediately came out. Department of War.
Speaker 2 (18:41):
Immediately came out and said, nope, Camp Pendleton did not
request the five Freeway be shut down. It's not necessary,
there is no risk. So then Newsom doubled down on
his line.
Speaker 3 (18:55):
He went to the New York Times and said, government.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
Officials in California can confirm I was right to shut
down the freeway because shrapnel hit one of the vehicles. Well, first,
who are the government officials? The governor's office, that's right,
The governor was right, touts the governor, claiming and sourcing
(19:25):
the Governor's office.
Speaker 3 (19:27):
That's basically what he's doing. You're such a fool if
you fell for this one.
Speaker 2 (19:33):
Of course, the New York Times dutifully carried the water.
Gotta prop up pretty boy. He might be our nominee.
Gotta protect him from bridgegate a la California. The governor
was right, so says the Governor's office. Oh and then
(19:54):
they have a picture of what looks like a rock.
They say, see, here is the shrapnel. And I looked
at it, and I'm like, that's what you considered arrisk
the public safety? Have you seen your crappy roads, governor?
That happens to every vehicle almost every day because of
your gross negligence and theft of road repair funds.
Speaker 3 (20:21):
Good god, he just makes it so easy to just
drop kick him off the stage for his dishonesty. That's
what this is. Did you see this little uh speck here?
This was shrapnel?
Speaker 2 (20:39):
Well, first, I'm so glad that the FEDS are investigating,
because they will give you the honest lowdown, did it
happen or not? Second, the best Newsom has to offer
is his own administration's claim, and worse, a photo of
a little rock.
Speaker 3 (20:59):
That looks like it was kicked up from a poorly.
Speaker 2 (21:02):
Maintained road or was placed there for a photo op.
This is a guy who's lying on the ballot, So
spare me. But Corl, why don't you just accept the
fact that he might be telling the truth. He is
a liar when his lips are moving, Gavin is lying.
Speaker 3 (21:24):
He lies about every damn.
Speaker 2 (21:26):
Thing if he feels that he needs to avoid accountability
or that he can advance his political career full stop.
And the idea that the media is even giving him
the benefit of the doubt or a pass. As I mentioned,
(21:47):
I was here and I'm here up in the San
Jose for the California Voter ID signature drive bus tour.
Speaker 3 (21:54):
I know I'm at the gates of hell. Do you
see the things that.
Speaker 2 (21:59):
I'm willing to do to get these million signatures to
put California voter ID on the ballot? And why I
would write you know you have a choice. Send me
into the Bay Area, put my life at risk for
either being knife or getting a communicable disease from the
feces that are on the sidewalks. Send me into forced
me to go into Bay Area, or sign the petition
(22:21):
online at voter id Initiative dot com. I mean, throw
me a bone, help me out here. But anyway, I'm
here in San Jose. Last night when we pulled in
late to our hotel, a group of guilt ridden white
liberals were sitting there having their glass of wine and
they were talking about did you know that Trump fired
(22:47):
munitions at traffic on the five Freeway? Not true, That's
what Gavin Newson wanted people to think, when in fact,
Gavin Newsom shut down the freeway as part of a
circus side show first presidential campaign. All right, get the
(23:08):
talk back feature on your iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 3 (23:13):
Take it out.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
Asking me a question because coming up, I'm answering questions
or just sound off on any of the topics we've
talked about. As Carl Demyo yours truly fills in for
John Coblt on KFI AM six forty.
Speaker 6 (23:26):
You're listening to John Cobelt on demand from KFI AM
six forty.
Speaker 2 (23:32):
Carl Demyo filling in this week for John coe Belt
on KFI AM six forty. Hear us on the iHeartRadio app.
Anything you miss you can catch up on the podcast
during the one o'clock hour. We talked about no on
Prop fifty and how you can use the most effective
arguments and this is all poll tested. It works like
(23:54):
a charm, the most effective arguments to convince your friends
who may be leaning towards a yes vote on Prov
fifty to vote no. Check it out the one o'clock
podcast when it posts after four o'clock. At two o'clock,
we talked about the California Voter ID Initiative and how
it is part of a bigger plan to take back
(24:15):
California from the insanity of the far left. But we
need a million signatures and I need your help, and
I spelled out how you could help during the two
o'clock hour, so.
Speaker 3 (24:26):
Listen to that the dime version.
Speaker 2 (24:29):
Go to the website voter id Initiative dot com. Voter
ID Initiative dot com sign the online petition. You have
to download it, print it, sign it with the pen,
and mail it in. But at least you can print
it and sign it yourself, or better yet, chip in
a contribution or volunteer to help us get more signatures.
If you want me to mail you a volunteer kit,
(24:51):
I will do that. Voter ID Initiative dot com a
lot of you've given some feedback on today's show, and
of course going to be taking more of these questions
throughout the week and your view on issues.
Speaker 3 (25:04):
Let's go with a couple of the talkback features. What
do you got for me?
Speaker 7 (25:08):
Hey, Carl, everybody's been so concerned about Prop fifty. I'm
opens about Senate Bill seventy nine and what we can
do to get this overturned in the California government. I
think it's going to destroy our neighborhoods all across California,
and no matter if.
Speaker 8 (25:22):
You're rich for poor.
Speaker 7 (25:23):
I think it was a really bad idea. And now
Scott Wieno wants to run for Congress, taking Nancy policy
seat as well as the Prop fifty I don't agree with. Okay,
thanks Son.
Speaker 2 (25:33):
All right, For those of you who don't know what
SB seventy nine is, it is a terrible Senate bill
that basically eviscerates single family home zoning in California. This
is what they're trying to do to the poor people
in Pacific Palisades. They're trying to take single family homes
and convert them into government housing.
Speaker 3 (25:56):
Oh that's right.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
They want to have condo tower and high rises that
are government subsidized and allow people to use drugs and
not have to pay for their housing. It's all socialized housing.
That's exactly what these people are trying to do with
our housing market. SB seventy nine allows someone to buy
(26:18):
a single family home plot of land, tear down that
home and build a tower seven stories high. Oh, as
long as they're within a certain distance of transit, and
they define transit as a bus stop.
Speaker 3 (26:38):
You can't make this crap up, and.
Speaker 2 (26:39):
It would absolutely eviscerate any local control on housing decisions.
It would really hurt any sort of quality communities. Let's
see if you can fit one more in talk back.
Speaker 9 (26:53):
Hi, this is Connie from Fountain Valley. Please explain to
me why it's okay for Texas to do the redistricting
and it's not okay for California. I'm currently on the
fence on how to vote and have a hard time
deciphering how it's okay for one state to do what
they're doing and not the other state.
Speaker 2 (27:10):
Thank you, Wow, Why we Reform California? Actually produced a
TV ad answering this question, and I shared it with
you during the one o'clock and I also have it
on my social media profiles at Carl at Carl to
Mayoca for you to share with everyone you possibly can,
because we need to do viral marketing.
Speaker 3 (27:30):
It's cut one. Let's get the answer from the ad.
Why is it wrong to rig the election in California
if Texas is doing it too.
Speaker 8 (27:38):
As a teacher, I often have to explain to kids
why two wrongs don't make a right and.
Speaker 3 (27:42):
Prop fifty is a perfect example.
Speaker 8 (27:44):
Politicians are using your hatred of Trump to get what
they want. Prop fifty takes power away from you by
destroying the independent citizens redistricting process, and Prop fifty waste
three hundred million dollars money that should go to our schools.
Rigging elections is wrong and two wrongs don't make it right. Well, no,
I'm Prop fifty.
Speaker 3 (28:04):
There you have it.
Speaker 2 (28:05):
I've never said that what Texas is doing is right.
Politicians should never never jerrymander. That politicians should never be
able to draw any lines. It should be done by citizens.
So why would we cut off our nose despite our face?
Speaker 3 (28:16):
Why would we say, well.
Speaker 2 (28:18):
Let's do something wrong because the ends justify the means.
That's not we want. What we want to teach our
kids so don't kid yourself. If you vote yes, I'm
Prop fifty. You are doing something wrong. You are rigging
the election. You are silencing large swaths of voters. And
if that's who you want.
Speaker 3 (28:34):
To be, own it.
Speaker 2 (28:37):
And if you do, I don't want to hear a
single complaint ever again from you about how Trump is
a tyrant or anti democratic because you've lost any credibility
or moral authority. So vote no, do the right thing,
all right?
Speaker 3 (28:56):
That does it for me. I am sitting in for
John tomorrow and Wednesday.
Speaker 1 (29:00):
Hey, you've been listening to The John Cobalt Show podcast.
You can always hear the show live on KFI AM
six forty from one to four pm every Monday through Friday,
and of course anytime on demand on the iHeartRadio app
