Speaker 1 (00:00):
Can't f I am six forty. You're listening to the
John Cobel podcast on the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
I have so much fun. I want to call Sacramento fun.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
But the.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Silver lining of how painful it is to go up
there and have to tolerate those people who are so corrupt,
so dishonest, so incompetent, so out of touch, is that
when you serve up a load of reality and truth,
when you bring an alternative voice, when you challenge them, oh,

(00:35):
they're just not used to it, and they just lose
their you know what. Then when I capture it on video,
when I'm on the assembly floor and they're lighting their
hair on fire, it reveals their true person, reveals who
they really are. They're arrogant, they are angry, and they

(00:59):
basically I don't like to get challenged. For some of them,
they've never really heard a different point of view because
they're so used to their Republicans being well sellouts rolling over.
And so when I look at what's going on in
California politics, I see a state, California that I once

(01:25):
loved so much and I used to be proud to
be a Californian, But it is in such bad shape today. Hi,
it's cost of living, a homelessness crisis, a crime wave,
the worst schools, the worse roads, they can't manage fire,
corrupt politicians. By every metric, our government has failed us.

(01:54):
Both political parties. One party, the Democrats, have awful ideas.
The other political party has sold us out. So what
do you do? What a lot of Califounias have done
is they've packed up and moved. You know how hard
it is to leave this beautiful state? Do you know
how bad your government has to be for people to

(02:16):
literally say the thing I used to be so proud
of all my friends and family. My life's story is here,
and I'm going to go to a place with mosquitoes
and alligators and humidity and heat and no good Mexican food. Okay,
now that you see how bad it is to give

(02:39):
up the good Mexican food, But I'm here today. I say,
you don't have to flee. You do not have to flee.
That is not the only option. Frankly, it's the worst option.
You should stay and fight. But you need a plan
to fight. You need good leaders that are willing to
organize the fight. And I've dedicated myself to doing this
and no, I'm not running for God. This is about

(03:02):
me helping create a movement where others can benefit from it.
I don't have the charm to run for governor. I
don't have the patience. But we just heard from Steve
Hilton and Chad me Uncle. What if you're just tuning in,
check out their interviews on the iHeartRadio app. We post

(03:22):
our podcasts after four o'clock every day. We need to
get behind one of these two candidates, and we need
to make them a better candidate. I like both men.
Both men have potential, but neither one of them are
in the vein or the condition or the position yet

(03:45):
to win. What do we need to win? And we
just covered the four things to win. Number one is
we need California voter ID to be on the ballot
and passed. So sign the initiative at voter ID initiative
dot com voter ID initiative dot com. Second, we need
that candidate to truly embrace that they should not be

(04:06):
running as Oh, I'm a Republican or oh I'm so sorry,
I'm a Republican. No, they should embrace the fact that
they're running as the non politician. Issues are pretty much
secondary to the main problem that a governor's candidate has
to address, and that is, we have a wretchedly broken

(04:27):
and corrupt political system in California that is dominated by
the rich, by the super packs, by the billionaires, by
the labor union bosses, by the special interests, the lobbyists.
They benefit from the broken system and they will continue
to fund bad politicians because those politicians give them your money.

(04:55):
For all the hoot and holler and that Democrats says,
we're working for the little guy. No you're not. You
are the man. You are robbing the little guy. You
gave him the highest gas tax in the country, the
highest utility rates in the country. You give them cancelations
in their fire insurance or at least triple digit increases.

(05:19):
You let their homes burn down. Then you let predatory
developers go and buy single family homes and build condo towers.
Don't for a moment pretend you give a rats rear
end about small folk. Little guy. You choke and kill
small business owners with high taxes, high cost of living

(05:42):
and the cost of operating with regulations, and of course
the crime wave. And so this candidate needs to make
that case. Then we need a movement. We need you
to volunteer and we need a campaign that is all
based on grassroots. But the political consultants that Republicans have

(06:07):
don't care about grassroots because they don't make a commission
on a volunteer walking door to door or telling their
friends about politics. No, they make commission on lousy, ineffective
TV ads. I'm looking at you, Jessica Patterson, the former
chair of the California Republican Party or the current chair

(06:29):
corn rankin earning three hundred four hundred thousand dollars salary
for a position in most states that's volunteer in a
California Republican political party that is financially on the ropes,
has no money to pay for voter registration. That's why

(06:53):
the movement is so important. Because the professional political class
on the Republican side, they are grifters, they are incompetent,
they are not going to fight and win. And finally,
there needs to be some money. We're never gonna have
the money that the other side has. We need some money.
So let's see where you guys come in in terms

(07:15):
of candidates. We got some talkbacks from the iHeartRadio app
Steve Hilton or Chad Bianco. After you heard the four
criteria that I think we need to have in order
for one of these candidates to be effective. Who do
you support for governor? Coming up? You sound off.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
You're listening to John Cobelt on demand from KFI AM
six forty.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
Let's get to some of those talkback comments about who
people are leaning towards on the Republican side for governor.

Speaker 4 (07:48):
Big fan of Sheriff Chad Bianco for governor, being a
resident of Temecula now for twenty years and living in
Riverside County. He's done a lot of great work for
the county since he's been elected sheriff, and I think
he'll continue to do that when he's a governor.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
There you go. Popular refrain is if you have a
sheriff running for governor, it resonates with people who want
law and order. And obviously this guy's from Temecula, so
he knows. Bianco. Got any others?

Speaker 5 (08:22):
I like Steve Hilton, and main reason is he's got
the connections in Washington. He's got the connections that I
think he's gonna need to lead to California.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
That is an item that Steve Hilton hit on in
his interview earlier today, and if you missed it, check
out the podcast after the show wraps up at four
o'clock on the iHeartRadio app. Steve Hilton has a lot
of those connections Vivek Ramaswami. Ramaswami, for example, is supporting him.

(09:01):
Whoever gets Trump's endorsement in the primary would immediately vault
into first place. I don't know though, if Trump is
going to endorse in the primary. Haven't spoken to him
about it or his team, but we're going to try
to endorse at Reform California and we have a pretty
big army of people. But an endorsement from Trump, and

(09:22):
I know that Steve Hilton has good relationships with the
White House. An endorsement from Trump for Steve Hilton, if
it happens, would be a game changer in the primary.
Would it hurt him in the general? No, he's already
a Republican. They're already going to say no matter who
the Republicans put up that somehow they're evil and they're
pro Trump, might as well own it. Let's get to

(09:44):
some other comments.

Speaker 6 (09:45):
Yeah, my name's Greg. You know, I'm a truck driver
out of Bakersville, California, Lake Isabella. I believe that the
sheriff would be the best governor for us, hard on trime,
and he could get this state turned back around.

Speaker 2 (10:01):
Crime. It resonates sheriff, law and order. Republicans like public safety.
Got another one, Steve Hilton fan.

Speaker 7 (10:11):
I've followed him since he was on Fox News, and
I've always liked him, and I kept up with this podcast,
and I think he's very knowledgeable, and I think he's
going to make a great covenor.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
Okay, we could probably play this game of tennis ping
pong for the next hour and a half because all
of the talkbacks are basically running dead. Even half of
you like Cha Pianco, half of you like Steve Hilton.
I like both of them. But if we continue to
split the vote, you know what happens, right, We're gonna

(10:45):
get shut out. Because Katie Porter right now is taking
water on She is really having a bunch of blowback
from her true nature being exposed in the past week,
from all those viral clips showing that she devours young children.

(11:09):
But basically it's almost as bad as that she treats
people with absolute arrogance and contempt, and she's nasty, vicious,
which is why I'd love to have a Republican candidate
run against her, because I don't think Californians want to
put up with that crap for four years. I've heard

(11:30):
from a variety of Democrats sources that the establishment is
uniting behind Steve Padilla, the sorry Alex Padia, not Steve Pidia.
Steve Pidia is a loser state senator from San Diego.
Alex Padia, the US Senator who's best friends with Gavin Usom.

(11:56):
He has not announced for governor yet, but if he runs,
he's gonna get the support of Newsom in the entire establishment.
Why because he has promised Newsom that if he wins
governor that he will appoint Gavin Newsom as the US

(12:17):
Senator to replace him in the Senate. Oh you see
what's going on again? This is corruption. You don't get
You need to tell the Democrats. You don't get to
choose who your nominee is. Your nominee is chosen for
you by the power barons. You just get to be

(12:42):
the window dressing. That's what they did with Joe Biden,
and then that's what they did with word Salad Kamala
Harris I told you a year and a half out
that Biden was not going to be then that they
were going to replace them after the primaries because they

(13:04):
never wanted an open primary. They didn't want voters to
actually way in. They were terrified they were gonna get
AOC or Elizabeth Warren or Bernie Sanders. Same thing's happening
right now in California politics on the Democrat side. They
are going to anoint Alex Padia because Newsom and the

(13:27):
establishment want Newsom to be able to be relevant in
a political office while he runs for president. It's all
about them, not about you. The problem you have on
the Republican side is we've got to get these two
candidates down to one and we're gonna work on that
all right. Coming up, there is a huge uproar within

(13:49):
the Democrat party. It all involves how a good chunk
of the Democrat base is anti Semitic, they're anti Jewish.
Coming up, what's going on that you need to know.

Speaker 3 (14:01):
You're listening to John Cobels on demand from KFI AM
six forty.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
You can hear the show every day one to four,
but you also can listen live or on demand on
the iHeartRadio app. We put the podcast up every day
after four o'clock. I need your help in getting a
million signatures to put the California Voter ID Initiative on
the ballot. If you haven't signed the initiative yet, you

(14:28):
can download, print, sign and mail it back to me
at voter id Initiative dot com voter id Initiative dot com.
But more than signing it, I'd like you to see
if you can get extra signatures. So request a volunteer
kit and I will mail one to you. I'll cover
the postage voter ID Initiative dot com. There is a

(14:50):
dirty little secret that the liberal media is covering up.
The Democrats. A good chunk of them hate Jews. Let
me just be very blunt. They are anti Semitic, and
I've seen this with my own eyes. There was an

(15:13):
anti bullying bill in Sacramento that we passed that basically
said that we need to be evaluating curriculum to make
sure that it's not anti Semitic AB seven fifteen.

Speaker 1 (15:32):
The bill.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
Basically is common sense that you have to have factually
accurate information when you're teaching about Israel, when you are
teaching about the Holocaust, Factually accurate and a lot of

(15:58):
anti Semites. A lot of anti Jewish groups viciously opposed
the bill, including labor unions. That's why what's appalling is
the California Faculty Association came out with a questionnaire just

(16:19):
recently in the past couple days, and it was sent
to me by a Democrat who said, I'm Jewish and
I just got this questionnaire, and I am appalled. The
questionnaire says, please let us know if you accept money
from a pack, jpack, the oil industry, the tobacco industry,

(16:42):
police associations, etc. So let me be clear, these Democrats
don't like oil because it's going to destroy our planet.
Can dim it change. They don't like tobacco. They certainly
don't like police. That's been a parent They want to
do fun police. And what they're saying here by lumping

(17:05):
Jewish groups in with oil, tobacco, and police, they certainly
don't like Jews. You can't get more anti Semitic than that.
If this were a Republican survey saying do you get
money from black people or black organizations, this would be

(17:30):
off the charts, the number one story in every media
outlet around the state. But no, because it's Democrats. Let's
cover up the hate. The most viciously hate filled and
discriminatory people I have met in Sacramento are Democrats, and

(17:56):
no one seems to understand that. They say Republicans are
hate filled and they discriminate. But the only people who
look at you as your gender, your skin color, your orientation,
your religion are Democrats. I'm not saying that every Republican

(18:20):
is an angel, but if you truly are conservative, if
you're truly freedom oriented, you treat everyone with dignity and respect,
and you give them their freedoms even when you disagree
with them. But not the Democrats. They see a world
of religion, orientation, and skin color, and they will weaponize

(18:43):
that and they will discriminate against people based upon those factors.
And now you see it in black and white. The
California Faculty Association doesn't like Jews. They don't like oil,

(19:05):
they don't like tobacco, they don't like police, but they
don't like Jews. That's why they're asking. Oh, they say, quote,
we don't support candidates who accept money from groups that
quote harm working people. It is shocking. I would like

(19:25):
to see some of my Democrat Jewish members speak out
more forcefully against this, but they are trying to walk
a tight rope of privately growsing about it while swallowing
the indignation by not letting their secret flow out to

(19:47):
the media. I'm sorry that they're being treated that way
by fellow Democrats, but you know what they say, if
you created the monster, don't be surprised when that monster
comes after you. Coming up. Another story that's not really

(20:09):
covered by the media, and that is that in the
middle of a budget deficit, California politicians are spending one
point three billion dollars or the equivalent of an NFL stadium,
on swank new office space for themselves in Sacramento, but
they don't want you to know that it costs that much.
Coming up, we got the story for you.

Speaker 3 (20:28):
You're listening to John Coebelt on demand from KFI AM sixty.

Speaker 2 (20:34):
Carl Demayo is sitting in for John go Belt on AM
six forty KFI. I want to get to this last
story because it's appalling. So much in Sacramento is appalling,
but it just shows how politicians are more interested in
what happens to them, what they can benefit, versus what
happens to you. So in the middle of a budget

(20:55):
deficit where we have a twenty billion dollar budget deficit,
politicians are spending three hundred million dollars on Prop fifty,
their corruptory districting scheme, and Prop fifty doesn't help you,
It only helps them stay in office. But they also
want to make sure that when they're in office that
they have the most glamorous taj Mahal office suites that

(21:17):
you can possibly get with taxpayer funds. They are spending
one point three billion dollars the cost of an NFL
stadium on new office space for themselves up at the
state Capitol. Now, mind you, they already have new office space.
They are right now in a building that they built

(21:37):
just three years ago that's brand new, perfectly fine, better
than fine. But they don't want to walk a single
block and have to hang out with little folk, the
real people. Instead, they want a new building for one
point three billion dollars, and they want to have secret

(21:59):
corridors in that buildings so they don't have to interact
with the public. Far be it from an elected official
to actually have to talk to someone they're supposed to
be working for. Here's k CR's Ashley Zavala who's doing
a great job trying to get to the bottom of

(22:20):
this taj Mahal project that the politicians don't want you
know the full cost of. But it is one point
three billion. I'm letting you know what that is. I'm
not unwilling to tell you the truth. Here's cut one.
Oh we didn't get cut one. Okay, Well, anyway. Ash

(22:40):
Zavala has asked repeatedly on the California Public Records Act,
which allows anyone you know, let alone a member of
the media, but any individual taxpayer can demand government records.
How much did you spend on paper clips last year? Yes,

(23:01):
you can ask your government how much they spent, and
they have to tell you. How much did you spend
on getting pensions to these government employees? What is the
cost of this contract? All of that is subject to
the Public Records Act by state law, they have to

(23:22):
hand it over to you. But Ashley Zavala has repeatedly
asked how much does this new building cost taxpayers? They
said it cost five hundred and eighty million dollars when
they approved the project in twenty eighteen. Cost overruns have
resulted in it being far more, but they haven't told
you how much more. I'm here to tell you it's

(23:45):
one point three billion dollars. They already admitted it was
approaching a billion. It's one point three billion dollars and
I expect it to be one point six in very
short order. So politicians and the middle of a budget deficit,
can spend that money for their own offices, their own comfort,
and to make sure that the building has secret passages

(24:06):
so that they don't have to interact with the public.
You can't get more elitists and out of touch than this.
But they're going to raise your taxes and they're going
to cut important services to all sorts of Californians. But
they'll take care of themselves first, just like they take

(24:28):
care of their campaign donors first, because it's not about you,
it's about them. When you actually take a look at
this new building that they're building, it doesn't even fit architecturally. Again,
I don't care about architecture, but I do. The bigger
thing is how much money they're spending it on an
unnecessary taj mahal. But this building, when you look at it,

(24:52):
you know, you see the state Capitol. It's you know,
like a miniature version, a smaller version of the US Capitol.
It's got the big dome, it's white at the Greek
Roman architecture. It looks like a you know, standard state capitol. Okay, yeah,
that's the state capitol building. Ye looks like a normal
state capitol. But you know what this taj Mahal is

(25:13):
gonna look like. It's gonna look like the headquarters of
Meta or X or one of those other sleek tech companies.
It's glass, it's metallic, and it looks like a big
old elephant sitting up next to a modern, a traditional

(25:37):
state capitol building. Again, I'm not criticizing it just because
of bad architecture. That's just the icing on the cake.
I'm criticizing it because it's unnecessary one point three billion
dollars of your money when they can just use the
office building they literally just built, Karl. We don't want

(25:58):
to have to walk out some the capitol building. It's
a full block. Oh God forbid. You have to walk
outside and interact with the people. And this building is
more expensive than a normal office building because for every
public corridor, they're going to have a private, secret corridor.

(26:21):
For every public elevator, they have a secret private elevator.
Members only again, everything about this corrupt system is hidden
from the public because we don't with the exception of ashley'

(26:43):
zavala at CACRA on this story WHI she does great
work on other stories too. The media they're not watchdogs,
they're lapdogs. All right. That does it for me today,
But I want to remind all of you. I'll be
here tomorrow filling in for John Coe Belt. I need
you to sign the California voter ID Initiative. We need
a million signatures. If you have not used a real

(27:06):
pen to sign this petition yet, you have not been
signed up. I need you to go on the website
voter id Initiative dot com, download, print, sign and mail
in your petition and if you would, please request a
petition kit to get extra signatures from friends, family and
neighbors at voter ID Petition voter id Initiative dot com,

(27:29):
or you can also go to voter idpetition dot org.
We will pick up the conversation tomorrow. The top ten
worst new laws at Gavin Newsom just signed into effect.
I got the list of ten and you're going to
be horrified. But first let's head it over to Kfiam
six forty's newsroom.

Speaker 1 (27:47):
Hey, you've been listening to The John Cobalt Show podcast.
