news story that people actually believed. And we'll go over
it next so you can test your skills. And it's
always a lot harder than it sounds, and it's always
a lot of fun. That's next. This is just in
the Jewel Show. The global cocaine business is booming. Sad news. Also,

(00:45):
Lindsay Lohan is making a Hollywood paycheck again any coincidence,
I don't think so Oh is great to create fake news.
That's why every single week we bring you the cleverly
named segmental new news or fake news, where I read
you a news story that's gone viral this week, and
you have to see if you can tell whether it's
a real one or a fake one that people actually believed.

(01:09):
Here's your first story for real news or fake news.
Is this a real news story or a fake one
that went viral on the internets? Deceased Wisconsin man revived
by Applebee's whole lot of Bacon BERGERA deceased Wisconsin man
revived by Appleby's whole lot of Baconberger. Here's the story.
A forty five year old man from Wisconsin was in

(01:29):
court this week after he faked his own death. He
abandoned his wife and three kids and fled the country
to go be with his mistress in Eastern Europe. No
Wisconsinian Ryan Bargwart made it look like he drowned while
kayaking last August, and they never found his body. He
went to a He went out on the lake in
his kayak, then paddled an inflatable raft ashore, rode about

(01:54):
seventy miles on an e bike, took a bus to Detroit,
ed into Toronto, and then hoped to hun three flights
to Paris, Asia and then to Eastern Europe. Wow turned
out he'd been talking to a woman from Uzbekistan that
he'd met online a few months earlier. What Cops eventually
found out that he'd gotten a new passport, taken out

(02:15):
a three hundred and seventy five thousand dollars life insurance policy,
and reversed his vasectomy so he could start a new
family in Uzbekistan with his lava. What This guy did
a lot of work, Yes, he did. They finally tracked
him down when he actually called his wife and came
clean and added that he wanted to come home because

(02:36):
there's no Applebee's in Uzbekistan and he can't go another
day without a whole lot of bacon murder a believable
and begged to come home. Wisconsin doesn't have a specific
charge for faking your own death. But he's facing up
to nine months in jail. Yeah, and agreed to a
plea deal that lowered it to just forty five days.

(02:56):
What but the judge rejected that and almost doubled it,
So he's getting about eighty nine days in jail again,
that's it. Yeah, and he had to pay thirty thousand
dollars to cover the costs of the search and rescue.
He said that he deeply regrets his actions and that
he caused all the pain that he might have caused
his wife, his family, and his friends. Oh yeah, I've

(03:18):
taken him back. Does it say his wife of twenty
two twenty two years filed for divorce two days after
he got back. And it's not clear if his mistress
is still in the picture or if he ever got
his whole lot of bacon burger. But yeah, I hate
this guy. Is this a real story or a fake
news story that people actually believe? Nina? This has gotta
be real and I hate this guy. What you cannot

(03:42):
fake your own death and get away with it. Eighty
nine days in jail is not enough. Imagine the wife too.
He calls and he's like, maybe I fake my own death,
and she thinks it's going to be like I love
you and I want to come home. He's just like,
I just want to go home and have an Applebee's burger.
They don't have Applebee's in his Becca state. What about
your kids? What about your kid? Victoria? Do you think
this is a real news story or a fake has

(04:04):
to be fake? Like that can't actually be real. This
is a real news story that actually happened. Yet I
hate this. I watch them good an Applebe's endorsement and
when it gets out, watch how it can change your life.
It's real news or fake news? A segment where I
read a news story from the week it's gone viral.
You have to tell me if it's a real one
that people read or or a fake one that people

(04:26):
actually believed and started sharing like crazy on the Internet.
Here's another headline for real news or fake news. Captain
Claus Seafood shack Sue's open AI for two billion dollars
after AI mishap. Captain Clause Seafood shack Sue's open AI
for two billion dollars after AI mishap. Here's the story
out of Springfield, Ohio. What started as a quiet Tuesday

(04:49):
morning at Captain Claus Seafood Chaff turned it into absolute
bedlam after an AI tool allegedly told thousands of people
online that the restaurant was offering all you can eat
lobster buffet for a dollar oo. By noon, traffic was
backed up for three miles. Oh Customers showed up, dragging coolers,
inflatable kiddie pools and even live nets, demanding unlimited lobster

(05:15):
and bargain basement prices. This is in springfel Ohio Captain
Class seafood check. Okay. I decided to picture it with
the free and pools and yeah. Somebody said it was
like Black Friday but for crustaceans. Hey, I'd lose my
mind over some crab. I kind of get it. One
man in scuba gear showed up and tried to climb
into one of the lobster tanks. Bro and the chaos

(05:35):
escalated when the AI generated promotion went viral online and
people were sharing it like crazy, saying head to Captain
Class Seafood Shack to get all you can eat lobster
or a dollar dude. Within hours, police were called to
break up fights over imaginary lobster rolls, and one ball
reportedly started when a customer shouted, I was promised scallops

(05:56):
the size of Frisbees, So whatever AI was saying, people
thought that they were gonna get huge Frisbee sized scallops
as well. Oh wow. By the end of the day,
the restaurant had run out of chairs, napkins, and patients
and estimate damages and tens of thousands of dollars said
it was like a looting scene in this a disaster movie.
And now they're suing open Ai jat GPT creators for

(06:17):
two billion dollars. Wow, is this a real news story
or a fake news story? I think it's real, But
the fake part is the two billion dollars. I feel
like that's too much. You can't pick both. You got
to pick one or the other. Real or fake? Well
fake initially because of what the headline is, the suing
the two billion, I think that part is fake. I
do believe people pulled up with the creatable you can

(06:39):
need lobster for a dollar? Yeah, I mean I think
I would pull up frisbee sized scallops. Absolutely, I'd be
too scared. Lots of surreals. Yeah, Victoria, you think it's
a real or fake story? I think it's real. I
think people would pull up. I'd be a little suspicious
and a little like frisbee size, Like that's a little scary.
You don't know if that exists, but that counts sounds

(06:59):
well when you fact check the story. Nina's right, it
is real, but the two billion dollars lawsuit is fake.
They're not suing open Ai. They were just very upset
that AI and chat GPT created some sort of weird
all you can eat lobster but fey for a dollar
for them. Yeah, tons of people should up. So basically
what you're saying is I'm a genius. Apparently, the guy
in the scuba mask trying to get into the lobster

(07:21):
tank was a real part of the shoulder that the
people are insane or cly
