Cal thought he planned the perfect first date — wine, s'mores, a cozy glamping tent, and a binge session of The Bear. But now Teresa won’t return his texts, and he wants answers. Was it the swarm of bugs? The tent mishap? Or maybe… something she caught him doing during the show?

This wild First Date Follow Up takes a surprising turn when a seemingly harmless white lie sends everything off the rails. If you’ve ever been ghosted and wondered “was it really that bad?”, you need to hear this.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
First Date follow Up powered by the Advocates Injury Attorneys
online at Advocates Law dot com.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Cal is on the phone today for a first day
follow up and he's getting ghosted by Teresa. So in
a few minutes we'll call her and see if she'll
tell us why she's ghosting him and maybe get him
another date. But first, Cal, how long has it been
since you heard from Teresa?

Speaker 3 (00:21):
Uh, well, it's been like ten days since the last
time we talked.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Okay, oh yeah, so what was the exchange the last
time you talked or was it on the phone or
was it when you saw each other?

Speaker 3 (00:32):
Well, so we went glamping, Yes, glamping like not real
like for real camping, Like she made that very clear
and it was actually my idea, but she was super
into it.

Speaker 4 (00:44):
And it wasn't overnight.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
It was just for the scene for our date, you know,
Like we could have stayed if we wanted to, We
had that option, but we just wanted to do something different.

Speaker 4 (00:55):
She's like, oh, showing camping trip sort of. Yeah, we
just out in nature. I brought my projector so we
could binge on the bear inside of this thing. Okay,
I actually love that star, you know, romantic, right. It
was great.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Yeah, so watch a little TV and then look at
the stars and then but you weren't staying overnight.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
No, but we did have this little fire going. We
made spores, we draped the wine out of these big
old mugs I brought. And she let me play my
harmonica playlist, which is like not me playing like okay,
she she humored me and let me play it for
the vibe.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
You big harmonica fan?

Speaker 3 (01:36):
Is that it?

Speaker 4 (01:37):
I love listening to it. I could ever play it though, Okay,
but no, like she's just really hilarious and kind of
like scary smart, you know what I mean. She kept
correcting the cooking terms and the bear out loud. I
loved it.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
And it was a great night and we kissed sort
of like we'd book. Yeah, it was hot and moory.

Speaker 5 (02:03):
Okay, this date sounds what could have gone wrong?

Speaker 4 (02:08):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
But she made me feel calm but excited at the
same time, and that's pretty rare. And she made me
forget to check my phone for like six hours.

Speaker 4 (02:20):
Do you understand what that means for me?

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (02:26):
Yeah? And how did everything end with her?

Speaker 6 (02:30):
Good?

Speaker 3 (02:30):
I'm so I went on I've been on plenty of
dates since she like she felt like an actual person
and it ended great.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
But there was like a bug situation.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Okay, I'm talking like full winged invasion style bugs out
of nowhere, and there was a swarm of something I
don't know what, don't ask me, but it started circling
around us.

Speaker 4 (02:53):
She was screaming.

Speaker 7 (02:54):
I pan ate that, but I was like aggressively zipped,
like z there up into the tent to protect her
right or handle it spicy. When I let her out,
the zipper grit stuck or I was trying to let
her out, and I know that was really frustrating, and
she I joked, I was like, wow, this will be
a story to tell our grandkids one day.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
And I don't think she was amused by that at
all the whole that situation and so basically the date
was over.

Speaker 5 (03:24):
Oh okay.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
Was she not amused by not being able to get
out or by the grandkid's.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
Comment maybe the worst choice of words at the moment.
I don't think it helped that she couldn't get out
of the tent.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
That might have been too much too soon, And I
get that maybe maybe I think the tent part would
be frustrating, But I don't know if you would go somebody.

Speaker 5 (03:46):
It's not your fault that you're stuck in the tent.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
No I didn't.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
I just shut her in there to protect her.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Reason, But maybe that's what I was going. All right,
And you've heard nothing from her since your date.

Speaker 4 (04:04):
That's been like almost two weeks.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
All right, Well, we'll play a song come back, and
then call her and see if she'll tell us why
she's ghosting you, and maybe get you a second date
if you still want one. Okay, all right, cool, thanks,
all right, we'll get your first date follow up next.
Right in the middle of your first date follow up,
and if you're just joining us, Cal is on the phone,
and Cal is getting ghosted by a woman named Teresa.

(04:28):
So we're about to call her and see if she'll
tell us why she's ghosting him and maybe get him
a second date if he still wants one. Before we
call her, though, Cal, why do you tell us about
your date again?

Speaker 4 (04:36):
Real quick? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (04:37):
Well, so we went glamping, not real camping, had a
great night watching the bear in our tent and everything
was fine. There was a little bug issue temporarily got
stuck in the tent and maybe have made a bad
joke about it, but otherwise she was amazing and the
night was great.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
Okay, are you ready for us to call her? Yeah? Yeah, okay,
here we go. Hello, Hi, man, I speak to Teresa. Please. Yeah,

(05:24):
Hey Teresa, how are you? This is a radio show.
It's called The Jewbill Show.

Speaker 5 (05:28):
Hi, Teresa, I'm Nina, I'm Victoria.

Speaker 4 (05:30):
And my name is Jubell. How are you a good?

Speaker 6 (05:34):
Wait? What is this like? Are you about to tell
me I want a trip or something?

Speaker 4 (05:39):
Well?

Speaker 2 (05:40):
No, Also, I'm not sure it could end up in
a trip someday, Teresa. We do a segment on the
show it's called the first Date follow Up. That's where
if you go on a date with somebody and you
end up ghosting them, that person can email us to
get you on the phone and ask why you're ghosting them.
So we got an email about you.

Speaker 6 (05:57):
Oh no, are you?

Speaker 5 (06:00):
Are you ghosting somebody?

Speaker 3 (06:03):
Uh?

Speaker 6 (06:05):
Yeah? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (06:06):
Is his name Cal?

Speaker 6 (06:10):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (06:11):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (06:11):
Well Cal is the person who emailed us, and we
talked to him a by your date and he said
he really liked you, you thought you were awesome, but he
cannot figure out why. It's been about ten days and
you still have not gotten back to him. Would you
mind telling us?

Speaker 6 (06:23):
Because he's a liar, a good one, but I caught him.

Speaker 4 (06:28):
He's a liar.

Speaker 5 (06:29):
Do you mean?

Speaker 8 (06:30):
Okay, well, he watched the finale of The Bear before
our date.

Speaker 6 (06:34):
Then we watched it with me, pretending he hadn't seen it.

Speaker 5 (06:38):
Well, how do you know?

Speaker 2 (06:39):
I know?

Speaker 5 (06:39):
Well, yeah, I was gonna ask, how do you know?

Speaker 6 (06:42):
Yeah, well he quoted in line before it happened.

Speaker 5 (06:45):
Okay, okay, could he have seen that?

Speaker 3 (06:47):
Wait?

Speaker 4 (06:48):
Wait, wait, wait, that's why.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
That is why, Theresa, that's cal He's actually on the
phone listening and wants to talk to you.

Speaker 6 (06:56):
What Yeah, my god, Well you're a liar.

Speaker 4 (07:01):
No, that's not a lie. It's not a lie.

Speaker 6 (07:05):
No, you're a liar. And I shouldn't be surprised that
you were trying to do this to me.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
Didn't think that mattered at all. I wanted to spend
time with you, not spoil it for you. I was
trying to make it feel like a first time thing again, so.

Speaker 6 (07:20):
Thoughtful Gaslight knew a projector and a s'more?

Speaker 5 (07:25):
Did you actually watch the finale? Cow? Had you seen
it before you guys sat down to do that?

Speaker 3 (07:31):
Yeah? Well, actually, like, leading up to the date, I
actually bringed the whole thing because I'd honestly never seen
it before.

Speaker 4 (07:38):
But I liked it. It's really good.

Speaker 6 (07:41):
So you lied about telling me that you've seen it before.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
Also, okay, I'm sorry. I the only reason I did
it was because I really liked you. I didn't know
about the show and I wanted something to bond with
you about know what was going on. I just honestly
did it because I wanted to to have a good
time with you.

Speaker 6 (08:03):
Uh uh, you're lying again.

Speaker 4 (08:07):
It's not a lie, that's the truth.

Speaker 5 (08:10):
Why does it make you so mad? Teresa? I feel
like it's kind of cute like that he watched all
of it because.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
You liked it.

Speaker 8 (08:17):
Well, if you want to date a liar, then fine,
go ahead. That's that's good for you. But you know,
for me, I can't do that.

Speaker 6 (08:26):
I'm not a lot.

Speaker 4 (08:27):
That's not fair.

Speaker 5 (08:30):
Are you mad because he lied or because he's good
at it?

Speaker 2 (08:33):
Oh?

Speaker 6 (08:33):
Actually that's a really good point.

Speaker 5 (08:36):
I'm just curious.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
I'm trying to understand because this seems to be a
real like pressure point for her, which tells me something
in her life happened with liars.

Speaker 5 (08:45):
So she doesn't want to deal with that again.

Speaker 6 (08:48):
Well, it's gonna lie about that? Like, how would I
know you're not gonna lie to me about other things?

Speaker 4 (08:52):
Like?

Speaker 6 (08:52):
Is Cal even your name?

Speaker 3 (08:54):
What?

Speaker 1 (08:55):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (08:56):
Seriously, please, you gotta forgive me. I'm sorry, I am
really really sorry. I apologize. I will never lie again.
I saw him.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
I swear to never lie again. Please forget me. I'm sorry.

Speaker 6 (09:11):
Well, be sorry alone.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
WHOA, she's just up, Cal? WHOA?

Speaker 5 (09:17):
Seriously, Cal, that sounds like studdy. You don't even want
to deal with.

Speaker 4 (09:23):
I don't know what just happened.

Speaker 5 (09:24):
Yeah, I think this is deeper than you, Cal. I
don't think this is even about the Bear.

Speaker 3 (09:31):
Well, at least now I know that she's got trust
issues and the Bear's not a bad show.

Speaker 5 (09:38):
That's a good takeaway. I'm so sorry, but.

Speaker 4 (09:41):
I've been watched twenty eight episodes for her.

Speaker 5 (09:46):
WHOA, somebody will appreciate that.

Speaker 4 (09:53):
Sorry, Cal? Yeah, thanks, Young, can did me a favor?

Speaker 6 (09:58):
Actually you will?

Speaker 4 (10:02):
