Speaker 2 (00:07):
Thomas is on the phone today for a first day
follow up and he's getting ghosted by Sophie. So in
a little while, So in just a few minutes, we're
gonna call Sophie and see if she'll tell us why
she's ghosting him and maybe get him another date. But
before we do that, Thomas, how long has it been
since you heard from Sophie.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
It's been about four days. Okay, that's not too bad.
You're sure you getting ghosted.
Speaker 4 (00:28):
I have sent a few messages and I haven't heard back,
so at this point I do.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
Think I'm get ghosted. Okay, well, let's hear about your date.
How did that go?
Speaker 4 (00:36):
So, in my mind, it went pretty well. I think
we had some drinks and advertisers. We got to know
each other a little bit, and it was good overall.
There was one moment where we I don't even want
to call it an argument, but we did have a
little like heated back and forth for a minute. So
that's why I'm thinking that's what it probably was.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
If I were to guess.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
Okay, let's get to the heated back and forth in
just a second. How did you get there?
Speaker 4 (01:01):
Oh, we were just we were just getting kidding, like
getting food. I picked her up and we went and
uh yeah, just got some food and drinks and it
was pretty low key.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
So what was the heated debate about then?
Speaker 5 (01:13):
So we were going through uh we were talking about.
Speaker 4 (01:16):
My dating profile and stuff, and she kept just being like, uh, so,
what's your real hight or or so what's your real job?
Speaker 3 (01:23):
And I'm like, what do you It's right here, like
I already said it.
Speaker 4 (01:26):
Oh believe me? Uh or it seems like she didn't
believe me, and so it just got kind of back
and forth. But once I cleared it up, I feel
like everything for the rest of the night was good
and we had fun.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
Was she joking or she actually legit didn't believe it?
It seemed like she she didn't believe me.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
If she didn't believe you, that that wasn't a you problem,
Like I think that that would just mean that she'd
been lied to and those apps had been leading her
astray many times before you. So you know, I guess
it would depend on how you responded to that. So
you yelled back or what did.
Speaker 4 (02:01):
That sound like, yeah, No, I don't think I wasn't
trying to uh. I wasn't yelling back or anything. But
I think after the second time, I'm kind of like, so,
what's your real I was kind of like, well, this
is my real chop like these are this is what
I did. That was I'm not lying. I might have
sounded a little more in chence. So that's why I
think it wasn't really an argument. It was just kind
of like a heated thing from for a second.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
I mean, can I ask was there like your height?
Exact height? So guys lie about their height.
Speaker 5 (02:34):
To ask it's there.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
I don't do that.
Speaker 5 (02:37):
I put it.
Speaker 4 (02:38):
I put my real height on there, and I put
my job on there.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
That's cool that you're out here telling the truth. I
think that that's understandable. And it well not understandable, but
you know, we respect that.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
Are you a shorter dude, I'm I'm six foot flat. Oh.
Speaker 6 (02:53):
I don't think it was the height. I don't think
it was the height here. Was there anything else that
happened on the date that may have caused a little
bit of I want to say tension, but I was
gonna say friction. But usually friction could be a good thing.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
On good words, she kind of asked for it, She
kind of walked right into friction. Maybe she's one of
those people that gets turned on by arguments. Oh yeah,
you know how some people are into that and they
like like a heated debate. So maybe if you engaged
for a minute and then diffused it, maybe she got bored.
That would be really sad and that would be a
flag on your side.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
Yeah, but maybe interesting. How did things end with you guys?
Speaker 4 (03:26):
It was pretty good. We we hogged, We didn't kiss,
but uh, it wasn't It didn't feel like things were bad.
It felt like at that point the energy that kind
of turned around and Advisor backed up.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
Did she say anything about future plans? Like you know,
when you guys parted ways?
Speaker 4 (03:41):
I said, I'll text you and she said, all right.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
Okay, right, well, and you've heard nothing in four day,
so will play us song come back and then call
her see if she'll tell us why she's ghosting you
and maybe get you another day.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
To right awesome?
Speaker 4 (03:55):
Thank you?
Speaker 3 (03:55):
All right, place on come.
Speaker 6 (03:56):

Speaker 2 (04:05):
Randon middle of today's first Date follow up. If you're
just joining us, Thomas is on the phone and Thomas
is getting ghosted by Sophie. So we're about to call
her right now and see if she'll tell us why
she's ghosting and maybe get him another date. But before
we do that, Thomas, why don't you catch everybody up
on your date with Sophie.
Speaker 5 (04:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (04:19):
So, Sophie and I met on one of the dating apps.
We ended up going out for drinks and appetizers. It
was a pretty good time overall. At the beginning, we
were going over my dating profile and she was pointing
out some like things that she thought were maybe I
was lying about but I wasn't, and so they got
kind of a little tension there for a moment, but
after that it was all right. But I haven't heard
(04:40):
from her since, so hoping to just clarify that up
with her and have another date.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
All right, were you ready for us to call her?
Speaker 5 (04:47):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (04:48):
Yeah, here we go.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
Huh, I may speak to Sophie. Please speaking Sophie, Hi,
how are you? My name is Jewbell, and I host
a radio show. It's called The Jewbell Show.
Speaker 6 (05:07):
Hi.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
Sophie. I'm Nina also on the show, Hi, and I'm Victoria.
Speaker 5 (05:11):
Hi.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
So they on the phone with you. How are you?
Speaker 5 (05:15):
I'm good, there's so many of you. What's well.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
We do a segment on the show it's called the
first Day follow Up. So that's where if you go
out on a date with somebody and then you end
up ghosting them, that person can have us get you
on the phone and ask why you're ghosting them. So
you're currently actively ghosting somebody I think, okay, and his
name is Thomas okay, okay, and you went out with
(05:40):
him a couple of days ago.
Speaker 5 (05:42):
Uh yeah, it was like like four or five days
ago or something.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
Yeah, And he says you haven't talked to him since
you guys have gone out, so we're wondering if you
would tell us why you're ghosting him.
Speaker 5 (05:53):
Yeah, I mean I'm going I'm just like really awkward
about sending the text. It's like I'm not interested, So
it is avoid doing that. On our date, he like
we got into like a fight, and I just feel
like if you get into like a fight on your
first date, like it's probably not going to work out.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
What was the fight about?
Speaker 5 (06:15):
It? Was just like a couple of things, Like he
was just being super cagey about like his profile because
like he you know, on his profile, I think he
said he was like six feet and like he's not
six feet, and so I was just like, oh, like,
so what's your real height? And he was just like
him six feet and I'm just he's not. And so
that was weird, and he got really like defensive about it.
(06:38):
And then I was like asking him about his job,
because like that's what you do on a first date,
but he just like kept deflecting and like not answering
my questions, which I thought was super weird. And he
kept like laughing at me when I was getting like
frustrated and like saying it was cute, but like I
wasn't trying to be cute. I was like getting frustrated.
(07:01):
So yeah, I mean I just think he's like, I
don't know, I'm not I'm not into it.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
Okay, So you guys are legit arguing because he told
us a little bit about your date, and that part
sounded like it might have been a playful thing to me.
Speaker 3 (07:13):
It wasn't playful, not for me, Like I.
Speaker 5 (07:17):
Was getna like he thought he seemed to think it
us fun, but like I wasn't having fun because it's
like I don't like having people like kind of lie
to me. And I'm just like I don't even know
if his job, like is his job?
Speaker 4 (07:29):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (07:30):
I was sketched out.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
So you didn't get the vibe that he was lying
to you before you went on the date. It was
when you got there and saw him that you felt
like he was lying.
Speaker 5 (07:37):
Yeah, well because like before we had just been like
texting and stuff and like messaging through the app and stuff,
and like.
Speaker 4 (07:42):
He was fine.
Speaker 5 (07:43):
And then when I met him in person, like I
guess he had more time to like be weird about things.
I don't know. He seems fine before.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
So what made you feel like he was lying about
his job?
Speaker 5 (07:54):
I don't know, Like well, like just what the job saying.
It's like I don't know what answering your question with
a question, it's weird.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
So because I felt like he wasn't truthful with you.
Speaker 5 (08:04):
Yeah, I mean he definitely. I would be literally shocked
if he was truthful at all.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
Okay, well, well let's ask him because now I have
to be truthful. Sophie Thomas is on the other line
listening and wants to talk to you.
Speaker 4 (08:16):
Hey, Sophie.
Speaker 5 (08:18):
Uh, it's really awkward.
Speaker 4 (08:22):
I know. I just hold on because I feel like
maybe I wasn't clear at dinner and stuff. I was
not lying about those things, and it seems like you
still feel like I was lying.
Speaker 5 (08:34):
First of all, Sorry, if I said all that stuff
about you, it seems like you were lying and it's weird.
I'm sorry.
Speaker 4 (08:43):
In my opinion, I was like, oh, great, like good,
we had a good first conversation that like we're at
least like expressing like ourselves and being honest. And I
don't know, I felt like that was a good way
to start our relationship.
Speaker 5 (08:57):
I wasn't lacking here, we don't.
Speaker 4 (08:58):
I just want I just feel like I'm feel stuck
before it because it feels like there's nothing I can
say that will make you believe me.
Speaker 3 (09:04):
Well, what do you consult on?
Speaker 5 (09:06):
I mean, just.
Speaker 4 (09:07):
Various businesses hire me?
Speaker 3 (09:10):
Okay that you guys, come on, that's like, what is that? Okay,
so that's cool. So what did you consult on your
last job?
Speaker 4 (09:17):
It was it was a it was a construction business.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
Okay, okay, would you consult with them? Like with that,
what do you do specializing in construction.
Speaker 4 (09:27):
Just sort of coding and just general like permit stuff.
Speaker 5 (09:31):
Yes, I mean it's like you didn't really answer anything
about anything. So it's like, what project are you working
on right now?
Speaker 3 (09:37):
Right now? I'm in between projects?
Speaker 5 (09:39):
Okay, So what was your last project? The one that
just finished?
Speaker 4 (09:42):
It was it was for an updating like a subway station?
Speaker 3 (09:47):
What I mean, people really do this?
Speaker 5 (09:51):
Does this sound like that's true?
Speaker 2 (09:54):
Like I can I can see Sophie's side on this, Thomas.
You're not giving enough detail to make could sound convincing.
Speaker 4 (10:01):
Really, I was just gonna I mean, the truth is
I work for what was my dad's company, and I
still you know, I've taken over a lot of responsibility.
But I feel like maybe that's that's something I've been
hesitant to say because it's not like I built it myself.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
I think that's where also, maybe there doesn't need to
be that much pressure on your job on a first date.
Speaker 5 (10:23):
Yeah, okay, trying, Okay, So all really what about the height?
Like how tall are you actually?
Speaker 4 (10:31):
When I go to the doctor, they say I'm six
foot flat?
Speaker 5 (10:35):
Are you paying? Hey? If you want to go on
another date? You could measure me.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
Oh, there you go, Sophie. Would you like to go
on another date with Thomas? We'll pay for it, then
you can measure him. No, I don't want to measure him.
Speaker 5 (10:52):
I don't want to do that. Okay, No, there's absolutely
no way.
Speaker 3 (10:57):
They don't sound that compatible. To be honest, we're not. Okay.
Thank you for being honest.
Speaker 5 (11:04):
Thank you for thanking me well it's your lost.
Speaker 4 (11:13):
Yeah, you could have measured me in more ways than one.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
Oh Juble's first day follow up
