Speedos are back, and GQ says it's time for men to embrace the tiny swimsuit trend. But should the average Joe rock one? The team debates the body positivity movement, fashion icons like Harry Styles and Theo James, and what it means for Speedo Summer.

Plus, Tinder is rebranding to keep up with Gen Z’s dating habits—or lack thereof. The hookup app is now pushing double dates and more “intentional connections” to shake its casual rep. But can the generation that brings their parents to job interviews really revive dating apps?

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Give us three minutes and we'll give you everything you
need to know for the day.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
This time for Nina is what's trending?

Speaker 3 (00:04):
Who's ready for speedo summer? We speedo summer has arrived?
And yes, fellas, I'm looking at you, because spitos are
the hottest trend for men this summer.

Speaker 4 (00:15):
Finally, wait what who?

Speaker 3 (00:17):
Yes, it says GQ magazine and Dulge, Gabana, Dulja and Gabana.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
I feel like they always say stuff like that, but
no dudes actually ever usually do that.

Speaker 5 (00:26):
I think all women get into a room sometime in
February March timeframe. They get into a room and they go,
what is the most embarrassing thing we can make men
do this summer? And then tell them it's cool.

Speaker 4 (00:39):
This has nothing to do with women that.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
This has everything to do with Harry Styles and Goggins
what's his name, Walter Goggins that have really started making
an impression on the fashion world and men specifically who
feel inspired.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
If you're at a pool, Nina, does a guy in
a speedo do it for you? Or do you like Mary?
Your more bored short type of women.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
I'm usually more of a board shorts, but like above
the knee, like I do. Like shorts that are like
above the knee. Yeah, like the super long ones that
are like extra baggy. You don't need to do all that.
You can wear them a little shorter and a little
more tight.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
But a speedo usually not I mean I.

Speaker 4 (01:15):
Usually don't turn my head, but I'm not saying I wouldn't.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
Typically the people that wear speedos are not people you
want to see speedosids that are rocking.

Speaker 5 (01:23):
Those, They're usually not the guys you would watch. They're
not Harry's styles goggins.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
But I respect it though, you know what I mean,
body positivity. Let's do this yet it's speedo.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
Summer Baby Bowl. Are they common? I mean, I don't know.
I'm really clapping for.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
It though, Oh, THEO James was wearing one, Brad, you
love THEO James.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Beauty standard for men is gotten out of hand.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
What do you mean?

Speaker 2 (01:46):
And these are unrealistic expectations?

Speaker 5 (01:48):
What THEO James is one of the hottest men that's
ever existed. Yeah, so yeah, average Joe shouldn't be in
a speedo this summer.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
Okay, Hey, if average Joe wants to be in a speedo,
just let him live his life.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
No, I'm not saying if he wants to, he he shouldn't.

Speaker 5 (02:04):
I'm saying that the standard is way too high and
we should let average Joe know that he doesn't.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Look like that. Oh, he doesn't need to try, he doesn't,
you know.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
No, find the average Joe should put on his course
light board shorts and chill.

Speaker 4 (02:18):
Yeah, man, light, sure, go ahead.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
I don't know why board shorts just like average Joe.

Speaker 5 (02:28):
It's a nice blue color. Yeah, exactly, it's a solid, beautiful,
average beer. Average board shorts for the average show.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
Yeah, all right, Well, if you're going to be average,
do the board shorts or you can have a Speedo summer.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
I'm really on board with this.

Speaker 5 (02:42):
Okay, a want of shaving required, not necessarily, Yeah, what
do you?

Speaker 4 (02:49):
Okay, we're moving on.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
So Tender is trying to rebrand itself perfect just in
time for Speedo Summer as what they want to rebrand
themselves because gen Z is just not getting in on
the action.

Speaker 5 (03:00):
So, if you think about it, gen Z. To be clear,
gen Z is not getting in on any action. No,
regardless of the app.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
Apparently they are using apps, They're just not in on
that type of action. And tender has a reputation, so
they're like, you know what, we're going to switch this
up for you. We're going to have not hookup dates,
we're going to have double dates, and we're going to
make this whole thing a different type of experience. I'm
not really sure how a dating app is going to
pull off double date? How does that work? Like you

(03:28):
and your partner go on there to swipe for other couples.

Speaker 4 (03:31):
Oh, that's quart weird.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
What generation gave birth to gen Z Millennials gen x X?
How did gen X birth a bunch of elderly people.
I know you're not elderly by your age and your youth,
but the mentality.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Though complete opposite, was in gen X, Like if you
can't see me and identify me as gen X, then
I'm going to be like a crazy bardier and.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
Like robantic crazy. I think they were like rebellious.

Speaker 5 (03:58):
Yeah, they wrote, They wrote their own story, which ironically
is what gen Z thinks it does. That's like g
Z was born retired. They were just born, Like what's
the job?

Speaker 4 (04:11):
It's Friday.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
I don't want to go. I want to put her
around the house and maybe putts around in the garden.

Speaker 5 (04:16):
A little bit, these thirty five thousands supplements that had
on TikTok and a little putter.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
I think my favorite still is the gen Z likes
to take their parents to job interviews, Like I think
that's still my face, Like the comfort of like having
your parents there in case something goes wrong you need
to want to fix it anyway, an interview, Mom, fix it.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
It's so weird that that the Generation X would be
the rebellious ones who didn't want to have jobs and
wanted to drink and smoke and party and everything else. Yeah,
and would be the last people you think would accompany
their kid to a job interview, right right.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Their kids are the redo.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
Yeah, that's probably why Gen x Z is that way.

Speaker 4 (04:55):
They're like, I don't want to go down that road.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
Definitely not you come to this job interview I've seen
off of space.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
Can you tell this room is full of millennials that
clearly realize we're the best.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
I don't think I'm literally I think I'm Gen X
are all that makes sense
