Speaker 1 (00:00):
This time for Nina. What's trending?

Speaker 2 (00:01):
Well, after over one hundred years, the Zipper is trending again.

Speaker 1 (00:05):
And the reason for that is, we did it not
trend for a minute?

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Well, I mean, it's just always existed, but it wasn't
necessarily like a trending conversation. But it is back in
the conversation. And the reason is because it's getting an upgrade.
And I'm gonna tell you what that upgrade is going
to look like and what the Zipper will look like
for the next hundred years.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
This is interesting. I know. I'm gonna tell you what
that is in just a second.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
But first, if you're feeling like this Halloween is not
really your jam. I don't feel like going to a party,
I don't feel like getting dressed up.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
Then get into it. No, it's happening. You don't have
to get into it.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
You can stay home in the comfort of your bed
and you can still make everybody think that you partied
and you did something cool, or you went trick or
treating with some kiddos.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
What.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
There's a new app for that.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
The funny part is is it's called Endless Summer, and
the app was originally created not that long ago, about
a month ago, to allow people to have fake vacation pictures.

Speaker 4 (00:57):
I'm sorry, wait time out pause, you said fake vacation pictures. Yeah,
it is not that serious people. Social media is not
that important. You do not need to be.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Posting fake vacation pictures. And that is coming from Victoria,
so you know that's real. That is that's so gay.
I hate that.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
I agree with you one hundred percent. Yeapp came out
this month and the person that created it is a
product designer over at Meta. So there he was like, Okay,
this is a great opportunity. People like to just like
catfish the world and make people think they're doing cool things.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Well let's do that specifically for Halloween.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
So now you can pick your costume, you can pick
the location that you're at, you can pick everything. So
you have a postable Halloween while you probably just laid
them bed eating ice cream.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Watch the Golden Girls. But okay, Golden Girls is amazing,
but that's so fake.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
Like, ah, I don't know why you would ever want
to fake a vacation people. I mean, I get it
because that's what people do on social media, but I'd
rather have a real one.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
Yeah, but also like, why there's so many fake things
in the world, why add to.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
It, like God to make you feel good about having
a fake vacation, Like that's more part of you that like,
now you start to think that you actually had the
vacation and it feels like you actually went on vacation.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Oh that's kind of well.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
I do know somebody that has has done this, and
but her reason for doing it, though, was super petty.
She was trying to get back in an X who
had cheated on her, and so she wanted to be like,
look at me, I'm in Dubai.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
Look at me, I'm on a private jet.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
I guess you guys know this friend also really yeah, yeah,
yeah she went with us to Jamaica.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Yeah, okay, I love her. She's hilarious and that makes
a little more sense.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
But so, yeah, if you want to be like, look
at me, I've moved on. I'm in Dubai now.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Yeah, but I'd rather be in Dubai moved on, not
ye pretending I'm we all don't have that many vacation days.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
I get this beautiful.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
Why that is that adds to the like less social interaction.
I feel like that we're having as a society like
as we continue to yea with all the technology.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
Yeah, I like the technology, but still, but.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
I also just feel like your goal should be to
actually get out there and douce stuff, even if it's
not traveling, because I know it's expensive, but maybe even
just going for a walk and looking out a real tree.
It's probably prettier than an ai one.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
Walks are very nice. I used to go on them.
A lot doesn't go outside because of our allergies. Now
she walks on treadmills and looks at ai trees. I
stare at the guy on the wall. That's why I
stare to.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
Each their own an actual person. That's creepy, Victoria, don't
do that person at the gym. Okay staring at the
guy over by the wall.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
Hey, he gives me a little wink.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
Sometimes after a few forty minutes on the treadmill, I start.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
Seeing a wink and I'm like, oh, because you're on
that hill and you got those k Lastly, lastly, I
was telling you that the zipper is now turning for
the first time in over one hundred years, and it's
thanks to a Japanese company called KK. They make roughly
half of the world zippers right now. Yeah, it's a
it's always said, why KK and your zipper?

Speaker 1 (03:51):
I never really noticed that, but I think saz Yeah,
now that you say that, you're right, it does it?
Does it? Say it? It says hy cake either, Yeah,
that's y ky.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
So they have created something that they're now calling the
airy string zipper. So at first glance it looks ordinary,
but then you realize that there's no tape in the middle.
So now it's just going to be the two sides
that go together, and when you zip it up, it
will melt into your clothing, So the zipper won't necessarily
be a part of the look unless that's intentional. Like,

(04:23):
if you're zipping up your jacket you go to see it,
you're not going to be able to see it.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
Cool. Don't they make.

Speaker 4 (04:28):
Jackets where they just have like a lining that goes
over the zippers so you can't see it.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
Yeah, yeah they do.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
But you won't need lining now because now with the
airy string zipper, it's the new evolution of the zipper.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
It feels very evolutionary. It feels like siety two point
zero for me, I like jackets with zippers all over them.
Why wait, what Yeah, this looks cool. Zippers everywhere, Like jeans,
I have the nippers that go up and down. You're
like pocket puck

Speaker 2 (04:53):
Go use that AI And but zippers all over your
jacket Maybe are like pockets more than I like zippers,
but either way, so that is what's trending.
