Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Jewel Show on demand. Hey Elena, Lena, So today's
ridiculous Internet question it's the Jewel Show. Is what are
some red flags to look out for in a job interview?
We're starting right away with you, Elena. What is a
red flag in a job interview? For you? I would
have to say, just talking crap. I think it's just

(00:20):
a bad book and I feel like you really got
to get established before you go Stone Teach. Where were you, Elena,
when I was interviewing for a job at a restaurant
when I was about twenty two years old, Because that's
exactly what I did in my job interview and they
never called me back why I left? And I was like, man,
maybe I shouldn't have gone so hard on the restaurant
I worked for right now, like talking about how they're

(00:42):
all idiots and I'm so much better than there. I'm like,
I don't know if that impressed them or not, and
it obviously didn't. Thank you for your phone call. It
is time for ridiculous Internet questions. The world's most exciting
game show that's not a game show at all. We
just hop online and see what people are talking about,
and then we talk about it. With you. So if
you want to contestant, call us up right now eight
eight eight three four three one oh six one. That's

(01:04):
eight eight eight three four three one oh six one.
You can also text us at four one oh six
one and tell us what your answer is to today's
Ridiculous Internet question. And today's ridiculous Internet question is at
What are red flags to look out for in a
job interview? Victoria? Well, I've never interviewed anyone for a job,

(01:25):
but I've watched my mom do it, and I don't
like when people. I mean, I probably did it also,
but I don't like the people to say like um
or like so many times, like that's like a pet
peeve of mine. I don't know, and it could because
they're nervous. You're just judging. I don't like when they
do it a lot feeling judging. What are some red
flags to look out for in a job interview? Bennett?

(01:47):
I think a great thing to look out for if
you're going to be interviewed is if the person that's
interviewing you is organized, you know, if they're coming in
they're rushing papers all over the place. Also, look out
for like coffee stads, you know, when they have paperwork
and there's coffee all over the paperwork, it means one
they're disorganized and two they're always rushing around in high

(02:09):
anxiety jobs. So I don't want it. I just loved
that Bennett is casting judgment on somebody that's got coffee
spilled on their paper. But what people don't know is
behind the scenes this morning, Benett is having quiet. The
times aren't working, the camera is not working. It's organized
and all over the place. Calls right now eight three
four three one oh six one eight eight three three

(02:31):
one six one minute is having a rough morning? Text
in and give minutes on love four one oh six
one A rough spot today? Hey, Tiffany, h Hey, what
is a red flag that you look out for in
a job interview? So? I was the assistant director at
a childcare some years back and we had an applicant
on his resume like at the bottom you know where

(02:52):
you put like special qualification. He wrote, I'm hella legit
if you got this job, right? Yeah, I do have
gotten the job. We did actually call him in for
an interview and he should have been of the Lord
Tracie track suit. Well, ahually, how are you because I'm

(03:14):
a legit. Why not? That's thank you for your phone
called Tiffany calls up eight to eight three four three
one oh six one eight eight eight three four three
one oh six one. What is a red flag to
look out for in a job interview? Christian Grace? Now
a red flag to look out for in a job interview? Now,
I'm going in on the interviewee one time. Now. Granted
this did end up being an incredible job. I learned

(03:36):
a lot, but in the interview, I will never forget
this as long as I'm alive. The executive producer looked
at me and said, are you prepared for this? And
I was like, yeah, thanks so and she said this
job is the base that never ends. Your job will
never ever ever end. And I was like, okay, sure
took the job. She was not lying I was getting.
I'd get emails at three am. I'd have to be

(03:57):
on set at five am. I would get emails on
holidays at ten being like you misplaced a comma. Now
that's why I say I learned a lot because it
kept me all my toes. But watch you out in
a job interview. If they tell you that you're going
to work all the time they mean it. I've had
a job interviewer for someone who's basically told me they're
hard to work for. Oh God, I took a job,
and I'm like, they were right. Yeah, that's my fault.

(04:19):
I think. Biggest red flag It wasn't really a red
flag in a job interview, but the worst job interview
I've ever had it was in radio. I had been
in radio for a few years and I got a
chance to interview on the Kid Cratic Show, which is
a big syndicated radio show as well. I flew all
the way there to where they're at interview for it,
right and right before I was supposed to go on

(04:42):
air for my audition with the show, he pulled me
aside and he's like, hey, man, so your demo tape
that you sent out, love it, love it, but it's
a little edgy for us. Oh so you know, I
know that's kind of what you're known for us being
like that. But you can't do any of that when
you go on air with us right now, okay. And
so I was like, okay, so what do I do?

(05:03):
What I do? It was the most awkward and worst
performance on radio I've ever had in my whole life.
And there was like, there's like twenty people on that
show and they're all just looking at me like, huh,
this is the guy we flew across the country. Huh.
It's terrible. I was supposed to stay there for like
another eight hours and have more interviews. It was so bad.

(05:24):
After they turned the microphones off, I just was like,
I'll see you guys later, thank you for your time,
and I grabbed my stuff and left and they were
all like, yep, the Jebel Show on demand. It's another
Jewbil Phone frame Mornings on the twenties. Hello, Hello, Hi,

(05:48):
this is Pete Eekens. I'm calling from apartments. I was
looking for a lane. This is lane. Yes, this is her.
Are you telling about that outlet that I put in
a request about a month ago? Yes I am, yeah, yeah,
I am calling about that, and I want to let
you know that, Um, we identified the problem with the

(06:08):
electrical in that room in your house. Okay, did you
fix it? Well? That is also the other reason that
I'm calling our maintenance guy, Gary, really good guy, tries
his best, but he's not an electrician. Um, so okay,
it was m He decided to try to do the

(06:31):
wiring wired a few things wrong, and tea tiny little
electrical fire happened in that room. Yeah, say, there was
a little bit of a fire in there, so we
had to go in there and put it out. I
just want to keep Do you know what's in that room?
That is my sneaker room. There's over one hundred and
twenty sneaker containers all aligned where around that outlet was.

(06:53):
And I've been complaining to you guys for over a month,
and now you send me someone who doesn't know anything
about and now you're telling me there was a small
electric How small are we talking about? Ye, well it was,
you know, not a bigger one. They do run hot, though,
so I guess the best way to describe it as
a few of the shoes on your shoe rack got

(07:15):
a little melty. Do you understand the value? The cost
of all my sneakers is over eight thousand dollars. It's
taking me five years to collect. This is why I
keep them in my containers. They're not just shoes. You
had someone, first of all, who had nothing to do
with the electric. We're not even certified. Gary were licensed, Yeah, Gary,
Gary's not licensed. No, it's a very nice guy, but

(07:37):
he's not licensed. Therefore, you, the company, the apartment complex
has to replace everything that I've lost, and that is
I'm way ahead of you. Okay. We did realize that
you lost a lot of shoes in your on your
shoe rack there with the fire, and the room is
going to be redone and everything. Don't worry about that.
No cost to you, obviously, but we did already get

(07:58):
ahead of that. We saw that there was a bunch
of shoes that got melted into a big ball of rubber,
and oh my god. So since we I just want
to let you know when you get home you might
be excited about this because when you get home, there's
an envelope on your kitchen counter because we had to
go into the apartment to put out the fire and
stuff like that. Don't worry, they're working on getting it

(08:20):
all cleaned up right now. But anyway, there is an
envelope on your counter with a fifty dollars gifts certificate
to DSW Famous Footwear and there's one hundred and fifty
dollars gift certificate to pay Lesshue Source so you can
replace them all. Are you? Are you playing? When we
right now? Welcome tell me one hundred and fifty dollars
to pay lists, which, by the way, Paylers doesn't exist anymore.

(08:43):
And second of all, fifty dollars to DSW when I'm
telling you that my shoes alone, all of them, were
worth over eight thousand dollars, our collector's shoes. And if
you haven't heard me for the tenth time, I have
over eight thousand dollars worth of shoes. I have now
been ruling. Do you know Precious Moments dolls, the little figurines?

(09:06):
What does that have to do with my sinkers? I
just am trying to kind of see your side there. Well,
at home, I have over forty five Precious Moments figurines,
So that's really sad that you have that. And you
even said that out loud. So if your home caught
fire and your Precious Moments all mel sitting, bro, you

(09:28):
would you be upset? I would be very upset. And
I also just wanted to offer you as a replacement.
You can have my collection of Precious Moments figurines. They're
kind of non Precious Moments collections. Okay, I want my
eight thousand dollars. I want whoever is above you right
now Okay, well, there's nobody above me because this is
actually Jewel from The Jewel Show doing a phone prank

(09:50):
on you. And I don't work at your apartment building.
Your buddy Jason set you up. No, no, wait, wait stop,
are you serious? Yes? He told us that you have
a huge sneaker collection and thought you'd freak out if
it was ruined. I literally need I literally need a
change of underwear right now. No, no fire, your sneakers

(10:11):
are saying, Oh, I gotta believe it. Now, let's go
home and changing my underwear. Then Jebil Show on demand. Chris,
and I'd like to countdown that you did that one time?
Which one was it? When? Did it? Did it a
couple of times ago? Can you count us down today
from two to one? Two to one? Dose, No, yes,

(10:32):
let's guid I didn't expect Spanish me for a look,
but let's do it. This is the j and N
the Jubil News Network for Wednesday, January eleventh, twenty twenty three.
This is J and N the Jubil News Network, where
we take the news as seriously as we take our bills.
If there's a story out there and you need to
know about it, we'll get around to it at some point.
Just trust us. Maybe I'm jebil Fresh and one of

(10:55):
the richest women in the world is single again. Oh
King of the Amazon Jeff Bezos his ex wife McKenzie Phillips,
who got divorced and then gave away half of her
money that she got from the divorce with Jeff Bezos
and is still the second or third richest woman in
the world, just got a divorce from the broke that
she married after Jeff Basos. Wow. Yeah, sucks for handle

(11:16):
again seriously. And you know wherever he's gonna be living
now that they're getting a divorce, I guarantee he's gonna
have to stock it with some items he's got to
buy from Amazon. So double yeah. That is everything reminds
me of her. This is the JNN, the Jewel News Network.
We don't have any traffic helicopters, but we do have
a reporter named Bennett who is doing his own version

(11:37):
of the helicopter across from me right now. Oh yeah,
sit it on over to him. It's Benny. I've always
wanted to be rich, but now I'm aspiring to be
a new level of rich. Okay, Miss Janet Jackson is
going on to a Ludacris later this summer, and I
cannot wait to see her. She's doing some promo for
the tour and she was asked during an interview if
she ever had hot Cheetos, and honestly, she seems low

(11:59):
key ended. Here's what she said, hot cheetah. Okay, nobody's no.
I don't even know how. You really don't know what
how cheetos are. Oh really, I bet she that's good.
Chee hot cheetah. No, thank you? Right, So, yeah, she

(12:24):
was a little key offended, but then she later compared
it to popcorn with hot sauce, so you know, Chicago.
But she's been rich since she was five, so she
probably doesn't touch anything like hot Cheeto, Starburst, Starbucks. Like
she doesn't know what anything is. So take me out
and bring me back to life, because I want to
be as rich as her. What is it? She says
at the end, Oh really, I bet that's good. I

(12:49):
bet you that's good. I saw a tweet where someone
said that's exactly what someone says who has no intention
of right ever trying her. I bet you that's so
oh so good. Yeah, we interviewed Jenna I forgot about that.
It was like two years ago, and she was so nice,
so nice. I used to make fun of the Jacksons
and go, there's no way that she's that innocent sounding.

(13:10):
But then you know, we're doing the interview and she
came on the phone and she was like cheetah, Like, man,
they are that nice. This is the Jane and the
Jewel News Network, where the reporters are drunker than the
drunks they report about. Oh yeah, for our next drunk reporter,
let's send it out over to Christian Gray. Snow, I'm
on location in Texas where if you're out here doing
some sex thing, but where people? And I say that because,

(13:33):
according to Valley Central dot Com, and officer was dispatched
to a scene where a victim had been stabbed. The
man who had been stabbed told police that he had
been talking to a woman they met on Snapchat. They
taught for a few weeks before she eventually lured him
over with the promise of a good time. You know
what I'm saying. Once the man arrived, he noticed there
was a suspicious man standing out front. He got the
kind of the creep, so he left. She started calling

(13:53):
him over and over again. I was like, no, come back,
come back, come back, It's totally fine, it's totally fine.
Against his better judgment, he went back. When he got out,
he was jumped by four man, four all of which
attacked him. One ended up obviously stabbing him. He was
stabbed multiple times. They robbed him, took his iPhone, took
his wallet. Basically turns out this is an elaborate organized
robbery that this woman and another man had been setting

(14:14):
up using their friends. The woman and the other man,
named Francisco Martinez Junior, have been charged with aggravated robbery
and placed on bonds of two hundred and ten thousand dollars.
So trust your gut, and you know that almost happened
to me one time. This is why the people to
say just sleep with your friends. You know, stranger's great advice,
and that's the kind of advice you get on the JA,
exactly as I feel like Snapchat has always been sketchy.

(14:37):
It was sketchy. And if you're working for sex on Snapchat, Yeah,
I've met someone and they're like, yeah, come over, come
oncome over. I do not trust that at all. And
if it was on Snapchat or crregslist, definitely, and then
just you know too, when your gut is telling you
get out of here. Man, it ain't worth. It ain't
no sect in the world worth. Just out of high

(14:59):
school and I I had met this girl at the mall.
We made plans to meet up at this park and
I went to the park to meet her and I
just had like a bad feeling about her. Right she was,
there was just something I didn't feel right. I showed
her to the park and there was these four dudes,
four dudes very similar, Like, was this the same girl? Yeah,
it might have been. Now she's got a snapchat. But

(15:20):
I started walking up to her and then I saw
the dude come over and I was like, no, man,
I'm getting out of it. And then they started chasing me.
I got in the car and left and I was like, dude, yeah,
but notice I didn't trust my gut either. I still
come walking over to her. Man, guys are too easy
to rob. This is the JNN, the Jubile News Network.
Remember you can listen to the j and N this

(15:41):
same time every single weekday morning. It's the JNN, and
congrats you just got newsed in the face. Remember you
can follow the show on social media. At the Jewel Show,
follow all of us individually. I'm at Jubal Fresh, I
met Vir Room, I'm at ben A Knows, I'm a Christian.
Gray snow the Jebel Show on demand First day follow up.
There is on the phone today for a first date

(16:01):
follow up, and he's not getting a call back from
a woman named Kira that he went on a date with,
and that's why Oscar has reached out to us to help. Well, Hello, Oscar,
what's up? Man Marning? Hey, thanks guys, thanks for your help,
thanks for being ghosted. I guess, um, before we get
into the date and everything, how long has it been
since you last talked to Kira. Uh, let's see, it's

(16:23):
been uh been almost a week now. And how many
times you tried to reach out to hers since your date? Um,
honestly I've texted four times. First, tell us about the date, like,
how was it? The date was great? Um, you know,
it wasn't wasn't anything super exciting. You know, we just
sped up, had some drinks and we did end up

(16:46):
going back to my place. Oh, that was a really
good time to say that, he said, nothing exciting. Followed
up by that, Yeah, which one is well, I mean, yeah,
where we where we went wasn't super exciting, but at
the end was pretty exciting. I guess that was for
me anyway. Best. All right, so you guys ended up

(17:07):
hooking up after the date. Yeah, you know, all that
went great and uh, you know, at the at the
end of the night, end of the date, who you know,
we both agreed that we wanted to keep it going,
keep seeing each other. And I don't know, you know,
I felt like it just I felt like it really
went great. I think that there could be a future

(17:28):
with this girl. I mean, it's it's kind of early
to say, but but I mean really good first aid.
And you know, I did want to move at her pace.
You don't make sure that, you know, like sexy time
getting the way or anything like that, but uh, you know,
I guess I did kind of feel like I wanted
a little bit more moving forward, like, you know, mentally,

(17:50):
emotionally that that kind of thing, because into her actually,
you know, she's really cool, like on a radio station.
With the situation. Normally, in my experience, when I've got
out on a date and if it's nothing special, we
go to dinner and then we end up how you
did at the end of your date. Normally that's a

(18:11):
good date, right. I don't know why i'd be getting
ghosted exactly, unless that's all they wanted, that's it. If
it was just for like a hook up and like
one and done, I'm in and now very good point. Yeah,
so what do you think? I mean? Yeah, the really
the only thing I can think of is, I mean,

(18:32):
like I said, we didn't have some breaks first, and
we didn't get hammered or anything. But I might not
have been you know, totally at my bath. Maybe there's
something you're forgetting. Oh not really, I mean we didn't
drink that, you know, not to forget anything. But and

(18:52):
it could just be that I maybe I texted too
much before I should have it, and like came on
too strong or like clinging or something. And I don't
know that's That's really all I can think of is
maybe my personality was a little floppy at the end
of the night, or or just coming off as cleaning
after the fact. So gott to be one of those
two things. All I can think though, did you do

(19:14):
something that you would consider cleaning? I'm kind of maybe
texting too much no, not that I can think of.
What were you texting or just normal or were you like,
come back please, I'm crying and I need you back
here to hold me. Yeah. No, nothing desperate or crazy
like that, but just you know, definitely wanting to, you know,
just letting her know that I wanted to, you know,
continue to see her and get to know her better.

(19:36):
And what was the last thing she said to you.
I can't remember exactly, just that you know, had a
great time, and you know, I hope that we could
do it again. I think I still hope we can
do it again. And you saith like definitely here for
sure or something. I don't know. I'm kind of facing
on that, but it was, you know, general good goodbye.
And she straight up she hasn't responded to anything, any

(19:58):
of your text nothing. It's just straight up ghosted right
for that. Yeah, I've had nothing since then. Okay, all right,
well we'll see what we can figure it out for you.
We'll play a song come back, and then call her
and get your first date follow up next. Right in
the middle of your first date follow up, if you're
just joining us, Oscar is on the phone and he's
getting ghosted by a woman named Kira. He said that
their date was pretty normal. They went out to eat

(20:18):
dinner and stuff, pretty average, but they did end up
hooking up at the end of the date back at
his place. So that means to me that she definitely
liked the dinner. Right, Normally, that doesn't happen if you
hate the dinner. And Oscar can't figure out why he's
getting ghosted. Has been over a week now. He's reached
out to her four times since she left his house
after they field the deal. Yeah, thank you, Bennett. He

(20:42):
hasn't heard from her, so he doesn't know why. He
thinks maybe he came on too strong. Maybe he was
a little too drunk and didn't come on strong enough,
if you know what I mean. And he can't seem
to figure it out. So we're gonna help him out.
We're gonna get her on the phone and find out
what the reason isn't see, we can get him another
date because Oscar, you said you really liked her, right, Oh, shoot,
like more than just a hookup, Like you could see

(21:02):
yourself hooking up with her for at least a couple
of months, if not the unforeseeable for its future. Definitely
thinking that potential. All right, okay, cool, Well we'll call
her right now and we'll see if you can figured
out for you. Ready, let's do it. Hello, A speak

(21:30):
to Kara please, I'll get the turt Hey, Kia, how
are you. My name is Jubil and I host the
radio show called The Jewel Show, and I'm Victoria from
the same show. I'm Bennett from The Jewil Show, and
so we're all from The Jewel Show. It's a radio
show and I don't know if you listen to it
or not, but Hi, yeah, Hi, we're calling you because
we do a segment on our show called the First

(21:51):
Date follow Up. That's where if you go out on
a date with somebody and end up ghosting them, they
can email us to get you on the phone and
ask why you're ghosting them. So we're on the phone
with you because we got an email from somebody who
listens to the show about you. Oh, okay, thanks, May
I do? Yes? Who are you ghosting? Yeah? You should.

(22:13):
I mean I went on a date recently over the weekend,
like almost a week ago. I'd say, um, nothing, nothing
went bad or anything like. It was a great date.
And okay, we went to a barn and I was good.
Was his name was it Oscar? Yeah? Absolutely it was.

(22:36):
So Oscar did tell us about your date. He thought
that like you were really into it too, And then
he said, after you left his house, nothing, he hasn't
hear anything from you, and he wants to know why. Well,
I guess it's kind of payback. What do you mean payback? Yeah?
Payback for what? WHOA? Okay, So I texted him the

(23:00):
next day and then I texted him again the date
after and he never responded. So I mean he technically
ghosted me first. Yeah, I thought when he texted me
when he finally did text me back, like it just
felt like he wanted a booty call or something. So
I just was gonna ghost him back. Sounds fair, but
I'm confused. Yeah, I'm confused as well. So you left,

(23:24):
he didn't text you, so you didn't text him, but
he didn't text you, but just not right after, right,
I text him like the next day after the date,
and then like another day after just this, you know,
if I guess if he was so interested, and then
he finally text me back like maybe a couple of
days after that. Okay, we talked to him you know,

(23:45):
and from his story, from his side of things, that
sounded to me it sounded like he texted you right away. Yeah. Yeah,
he said he texted you four times. I don't know
about that. I got I got it after my like
the next day, and I don't know. So you texted
him first and he didn't text you for a couple
of days. Yeah, yeah, I mean that's how it felt.

(24:09):
Maybe I got the timeline wrong on when he texted you,
but he made it sound like he had texted you
a bunch and you didn't answer at all or text
him because I think I even asked him if you
texted him and he said no, maybe you guys have
the wrong number. Well I hope not. Now I feel bad. Yeah,
I'm just confused. We'll just talk to Oscar about it, Kira,
because Oscar is actually on the phone listening and wants

(24:30):
to talk to you. Maybe he can help us figure
this whole thing out. Oh okay, Oh my god, No,
it's feels a little awkward. Yeah, I mean it's been
feeling awkward for a minute, so might not make it
more awkward, right, Hey, curious, sorry on the spot. Hey,
I mean it's okay, it's I guess we're clearing the
air now, right, Yeah, I guess. I hope everything's going well. Yeah,

(24:58):
well yeah, I mean I I thought the date went well.
I figured, you know, we would see each other again.
I just I don't know if we got our wires
crossed or what happened. But um, I totally text you.
I definitely wanted to, you know, see you again. You
never texted me. I definitely, I definitely would have seen that.

(25:19):
No way. I texted you like the day after, like
in the morning after, just to you know, catch up
or you know, chit chat or something. I swear I did.
I say I texted the day after, and like one
day after that, I swear I didn't get any text
from you because like I didn't want to text you
too fast and come off of like desperate or weird

(25:41):
or anything, because I don't know. I guess, oh, I
was just I was just in my own head. And
and then like and then after a few days, I
was like, okay, like I'm going to reach out. It's
been long enough. And then like you never texted me
at that point, and I was like, oh god, I
don't know, yeah, see, I see you weren't responding to me.
So I wonder. I swear I'm looking at the text

(26:05):
message spread right now, and I mean, there's nothing here
for me. You totally ghosted me. No, you ghosted me.
That's why I ghosted you. I swear you did not
text me back. I'm you're looking at it right now.
I've got no text from you because I texted four
times and you're saying you only got one mic or
the course of the week. Yeah, just I only got

(26:28):
one from you. So I swear that. I swear if
you were ghosting me because I didn't get a response
back until a few days later. Was anybody's phone like
shut off? Maybe you didn't pay your bill in the
last few days, ran out of minutes, and that's why
these messages kind of like got lost. I don't know,

(26:50):
I don't get it. Let me, let me pull it
up again. Let me look at me phone, Oscar, what's
your number again? I'm just going to take it in
because I didn't save you as a contact yet. I'm
just gonna look for it. Okay, it's the oh oh whip?

(27:11):
What does that? What does that mean? Funny story? Um,
it looks like so I had someone working on my house,
and your numbers are almost to achieve exactly the same
by like one or two numbers, and I no wonder
your text to me. It was confusing because I didn't
text you. I texted the workers. Oh awkward. Oh okay,

(27:38):
so just let me make sure I got this, so
you didn't save me as a contact, and then you
did text be the next day, but you texted somebody
that was working on your house by mistake. Yeah, yeah,
I guess that's what I did. I'm sorry, and I mean,

(27:58):
I guess that's why I felt like you were just
texting for a booty call. Okay, yeah, that's right. Like
the text message I received back was so confusing because
it was like, do you need me to come over
there now or something like that, and I'm like what no, Um,
all right, well um Kia, would you like to go

(28:19):
out with Oscar again now that you know what happened
that he wasn't ghosting you. We'll pay for it, yes, yes,
of course, sweet, that's great. Here. I can't wait to
see you again. And please save my name in your phone.
The Jewels Show on demand, Jewils, Dirty Little Secret. Hey,

(28:54):
what's up? This is the Jewels Show? And you texted
us at four one, six one and said you had
a dirty little secret. So we're calling you back to
ask what your dirty little secret is. Good morning, Why,
what's up? Good morning? How's it going? Can you tell
us your dirty little secret? Now? Yes? Okay, So my
dirty little secret is that I actually have never paid

(29:15):
for anything from a vending machine. And if you want another,
are two ways to achieve this tack. The first one
is that you can take a piece of string to
a dollar bill and just pull it right back out
after it's done job. But if that doesn't work, I
know this is what they don't want you to know
about this or this one isn't for everybody. But I
have a very long, skinny arm and they look cool

(29:37):
and normal, but they do this job and I can
get things. I can get my full elbow up into
the machine. I mean my ful level of my full
shoulder up into the machine, and not just like bottom
row stuff. I'm talking. I'm talking checks mixed, I'm talking
tips and oreos. Okay, I have questions. Did you say
you put your whole arm in all the way to

(29:59):
your shoulder all the way? I mean I can I
can't get the good does that hurt. It's not comfortable,
but it's it's what's called worth it. I just won't.
I'm just not going to pay a dollar fifty if
I know how to get in there. It's funny you
say worth it, because I was getting ready to say,
ain't nothing worth a dollar and fifty say it ain't

(30:19):
worth about losing my arm? I can tell you that, Well,
you got to hut the right arm and sort of
the boneless situation going on. Are you saying I know
how to give it? No? No, no no, I'm sure you're
a beautiful art, but you got to try it. Okay, okay,
the string with a dollar bill? So does that mean
you like punch a hole in your dollar bill and

(30:40):
you put it in with the string, and then how
does that pull? I'm sorry, I'm trying to think. I know,
you can just tape it like you don't even have
to punch a hole. You can just like put you know,
two pieces of tape onto the string and then to
put it in like you're paying normally, and then once
it goes in, just sort of gently take it back out.
But some machines are a little too aggressive and and
this isn't going to work. Okay, good to know I'm

(31:03):
writing this down. Yeah. Yeah, it's been When I was
a kid at the Boys and Girls club where all
the bad kids go, um oh yeah I had. There
was like one one guy at the club that knew
how to do the same thing. He would steal all
the stuff at the bottom of the vending machine, so
we would always go to him to get our stuff.
But then one time he got caught and he couldn't

(31:24):
get his arm out quick enough, so he got into
big trouble and like he went down for everybody snack
that year. So when his arm was dark, y'all didn't help.
Y'all just let we ran. I would have done the
same thing. I'm like, I'm out of here. You're on
your own. So have you ever got calt? Well, I
almost got caught one time, but I just told him

(31:44):
that my cookies had gotten stuck, and so I was actually,
you know, more of a hero in that situation. I
could have let my eyes fill with tears, which is
kind of natural by that point because I had been
in there for a little minute. Yeah. The fun fact,
did you know that like a lot of people die
from vending machines. I do. Yeah, there's an alarming amount
of people that die from vending machines every year. How

(32:05):
they fall on them maybe probably brother trying to do that.
Their snacks get caught, and you know when you buy
something from the vending machine and like your snack falls
or like the little rings go, but it doesn't like,
oh of your snack and you're like dang. Some people
like they shake the machine and it falls on thee yes.
Oh my gosh, it's horrible. It feels like my parents
set up an intervention for me. So I was stock, Wait,

(32:30):
you're gonna die? Nd there's just over two on average,
there's just over two vending machine deaths per year. Wow.
Well yeah, girl, you could be one of those. Don't
be okay, I mean this almost makes you want to
change my ways, but it's really it's hard. I'm actually
headlines now. She died for a dollar and fifty cent

(32:51):
bag of chips. It's not worth what kind of chips
did you? Okay? If it were Deritos were considering a
cool ranch, Oh you might die from the arden, Saucess.
Thanks for telling us, Thanks for telling us your dirty
little secret, of course, Thank you, guys. The Jewel Show
on Demand I didn't expect to start talking about what

(33:16):
I'm about to talk about with a laugh. It's the
Jewels show, gosh, And why am I laughing? Because our
listeners are hilarious, Our listeners are awesome, and sometimes our
listeners are coldhearted and me and mean and like, honestly
like to me, this stuff is funny. Right. When you

(33:37):
do this job, people will support you and people will
rip on you no matter what you do. I just
shared that I want to take a moment to talk
about me finding out that my mom passed away. And
the first text message that comes in thank you for
the laugh. I mean that from the bottom of my heart,
because it's weird to go on a show where we

(33:58):
mayn't really joke around and go, hey, I want to
talk about me finding out that my mom passed away.
And I say finding out because she died on December
twenty eighth, and I didn't find out until days and
days and days later. But anyway, text message that made
me laugh right before we did this, said Jewel, nobody
wants to hear about your family problems. Play doctor Phil

(34:20):
on your own time. What were you thinking sending a
message like that? What were you thinking? Wow? I'm not
trying to play doctor Phil. I just like to talk
about my life. I've always been honest and open on
the air and in public about my life, and I
have no problem talking about it. So, yeah, you know,
I cut off contact with my immediate family years ago

(34:43):
because I grew up in a very abusive household, narcissistic father,
all that kind of stuff. Unfortunately, that meant I also
had to say to my mom, Hey, if you're in
that household, I just can't have a relationship because it's
hard for me. So my mom was the only person
and that I was closest with in my immediate family.

(35:03):
I never really got to know her, and she never
really got to know me. But she was the one
person that I had as a kid who when he
wasn't around, she was a different person. Yeah. I don't
have many memories of her without her brushing her tears

(35:24):
off as allergies. But the good ones that I do
have was whenever she had to take me to the dentist,
because then it was just me and her and she
would like listen to me and actually take the time
to talk to me. I don't have any of those
memories too, but I cut off contact with him. So
I heard from my cousin who still talks to me.

(35:44):
She reached out to me and said, hey, I won't
let you know that your mom bats away. It's weird
because I knew this moment would come. Last time I
talked to my mom was actually in counseling because I
had stopped talking to my father and she still wanted
a relationship, and I had to have the conversation. And
the conversation was going to be, Hey, if you want
to leave this man, absolutely, If not, I just can't.

(36:09):
And at the end of it, she made her choice
and I had to make a tough choice. And it
was so weird to get that news the way that
I did. It's just been tough to process. You know.
It shook me like it like I never had before.
I mean, I know people out there you've lost a
loved one and you know how it is. Now I

(36:30):
know how it is, and I think the way that
I wanted to talk about it, and what I wanted
to say was that my mom was brilliant. She taught
me to be curious always, and she taught me to
be passionate about life and learning. And my mom was

(36:52):
also an incredibly broken woman who lived her entire life
not living up to her potential. A gifted writer like
her words were beautiful. She's the reason that I love writing,
and she taught me a lot about it, and she
had amazing theories and points of view on life that

(37:14):
she would not share out loud around most people. And
I was like, well, what's the way that I could
honor her? Because I didn't really get to have the
relationship that I wanted with my mom, and I thought
that the way to honor her would just be to
share it with the people that have actually been there
for me. You guys listeners who have listened to me
forever and just say that, don't waste your potential. I

(37:38):
look at wasted potential in life as one of the
saddest things ever, especially when it's taken from you by
someone else. My mom always wanted to be a published writer.
She was a genius. It was never seen by the
world at all. So if you're listening to me right now,
and you're in any situation where you feel like you're

(38:00):
not living to your full potential, and you know you
that there's something you want to do but you're not
doing it for a reason that you are in control
of and thing you can leave. I'm just asking you
to hunar my mom's memory by not wasting your potential.
I know it's scary and I know it's hard, but
the only thing you really have in this world is

(38:20):
you and live your life the way that you want
to and live to your full potential. Otherwise you might
have a short published looking son talking about you years later, going, Man,
the saddest thing is the world never got to hear
my mom's beautiful words and know how beautiful her mind was.

(38:43):
I want to say something to you. This is Christian,
by the way, and as someone who is new, I've
moved here and just see how so many people love
you and celebrate you and your mom's gifts are celebrated
through you after a lot of people, and so whatever
you get down, don't ever forget that. Thank you man. Yeah,
I look at that. I'm like, well, the parts of
me that I like I got from my mom, I
absolutely no, yea, And those are the parts you want
to share with the world. Yeah, thank you. So hug

(39:06):
your loved ones today. Parents, talk to your kids today,
just ask them something about themselves, Like that was the
biggest thing my mom different me as a kid, nobody
cared and she did when she could. So just live
to your potential and try to operate from a place
of compassion. And I'll find out what my mom's last
words were and I'll share those two. Hopefully they're not

(39:26):
clean your room again. Oh, I had to make a joke.
She would have laughed. I know. Also, she wasn't very
strict on charge, so she shoul probably wouldn't say that.
