about the scene here in Colorado, and you mind if
I ask you some questions?
Speaker 2 (01:04):
Okay, So what is your name? Are you from here
in Colorado?
Speaker 3 (01:09):
I am from here?
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (01:10):
Are you like an avid K pop fan? Would you
say you got do you got a lot of K
pop concerts?
Speaker 4 (01:15):
I don't go to a lot of key pop concerts
just because my parents would never but but I do
listen to a lot.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
Okay, Okay, yeah, Actually that's like one of the things
that we're trying to change. And like someone came up
to us like yesterday when we're in Minnesota and they're like,
oh my gosh, like thank you for your podcast because
like I listened to it and it helps me connect
with my kids. Like hopefully what we're contributing here today
is like we can allow more parents to bring their
kids to like these K pop concerts, you know, like
kind of adding on to that, like what's like your
(01:45):
favorite thing about K pop?
Speaker 5 (01:48):
Just the community in general and all the idols and
how welcoming they are for their fans.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
That's that's very sweet. That's very sweet.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
I'd also like agree like community is like a big
part of K pop, you know, and like having like
a pop store here in Colorado just promotes everything. It
just makes everything better. What was your name against? Sorry
and us?
Speaker 2 (02:09):
Okay, we're gonna go. We're gonna get to everybody.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
Yeah, okay, so would you say that you're from Colorado?
Speaker 2 (02:20):
Yeah? Okay, yeah, this is this is by the way,
before this we did.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
We did fan meetings and and and this is our
nonchalant there's our nonchalant hero. It's like, oh yeah, you know,
like you know, it's whatever, like we just here, do
you go exactly? What is the last K pop concert
that you want to.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
I've never been to one?
Speaker 5 (02:43):
Oh wow wow?
Speaker 1 (02:45):
Okay, So if you can manifest one K pop groupe
to come to Colorado, what would you send out there
to the universe or ideal?
Speaker 3 (02:55):
Straight kids?
Speaker 6 (02:56):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (02:57):
Is that is that a group of Is that a
group boat?
Speaker 5 (03:00):
We all agree?
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Okay again, okay, what K pop route would you like
to come to?
Speaker 3 (03:05):
Eighties?
Speaker 2 (03:06):
Eighties? Okay? Okay, okay, which one? Which one would you
like to go? What would you like to see?
Speaker 5 (03:15):
I would say, you already came here? Uh you again?
Speaker 2 (03:23):
Oh me?
Speaker 5 (03:24):
Yeah, this was sweet?
Speaker 2 (03:26):
Oh my gosh, oh my god.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
I would I would love to come back to Colorado
and surprisingly like this, I mean surprisingly chinda like messed up.
I guess I didn't like know what to expect because
the K pop scene was like super small, you know
it like flies under the radar a lot of times,
and like traveling and like doing these little fan meetings
and these uh like pockets of America, Like you realize
(03:49):
how global k pop is, you know, and I had
such a wonderful, amazing time here and like, you guys
are so kind to me, so welcoming, and it's like
I hope that like of groups can come and experience
the love that this community has. So this is Colorado,
you know you like it's like, keep pop Clusuer in Colorado.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
What cap pop group would you love to see in Colorado?
In hyphen Oh?
Speaker 1 (04:15):
Yeah, okay, that's the community vote and hyphen If you
are listening, come to Colorado.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
We love you. Please please please not so Lana as always.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
Okay, what was your name? I guess sorry, Marcy, Marcy.
Nice to meet you, Marcy, and thank you for welcoming me.
And yeah, all right, we have a birthday girl here today.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
Yeah, what is your name? Riley?
Speaker 1 (04:51):
What went through your head to be like, Yo, I'm
going to spend my birthday here at the Cape Hop
store in Colorado.
Speaker 7 (05:00):
I wanted to come meet you. I've been following you
for four years about so I really wanted to come
see you.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
Thank you. That's very sweet. Okay, Oh to take that mic,
take that mic, go along ahead.
Speaker 7 (05:16):
So remember that Christmas baking, So remember that baking Christmas
stream you did and those cookies that got messed up.
I'm the person who told you to add milk to
them that messed it up. I was trying to help you,
and I told you to add milk and messed it up.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
I feel like, get right of here. Yes, well I
had to share that with you. Jesus, that's crazy. Do
I look different? Yeah? And how well have you been
following four years? Four years? It's like it's like like
(05:59):
something you guys is like, oh, like like I've been
here since I was twelve and now I'm sixteen.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
And I was like as much as like you guys
watched me grow, It's like I feel like I also
was there for like a part of you guys' lives too,
you know, And I feel like that's also a beautiful
thing in this industry, is like growing up with a group,
like supporting them like pre debut and then like watching them.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
Like Flourish it was like look this, Mike, and then
you're going through school, you know, doing your own things.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
I think it's such an amazing experience to be a
part of. And is there anything that anyone wants to
like say or like like tell me or tell the
radio audience?
Speaker 5 (06:40):
Yeah, if you could like choose any other place to
like go, like if you had time, like at a
restaurant or like somewhere.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
Where would you go here in Colorado?
Speaker 1 (06:53):
Oh my gosh, and you go to Rosie's Diner. I
want to go Rosi's Diner so bad. And if you
guys could look it up on TikTok, It's so beautiful
and I just want to go there and take pictures.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
I've had the food now. Yeah, So it was you
you brought me. I was like, yo, You're the first family,
I think.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
And then I was like, I really want Rosaries diner
and you're like, oh okay, and came back with Rosy's dinner.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
Can came back with merch.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
Like literally, you guys are so welcoming, so amazing. Thank
you so much for allowing me to have a wonderful
time in Colorado. And I hope that this community continues
to flourish and and you guys get many many concerts
and all these things coming in. And another thing that
someone told me was two if I was to do
a concert here, bring in oxygen.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
Just oh wow. It was mid dance.
Speaker 8 (07:50):
Hayler.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
What oh really? Who is something that you watched like recently.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
Someone recently that was here in Colorado, I would say,
is the Jonah's Brothers.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
The last time I saw the Jonas Brothers, they were
always going back and stuck in the oxygen oxygen auction
after every every song and they would be like, guys, guys,
we're struggling here. We're struggling here. Every concert I've been
to they talk about the elevation here in Colorado and
how it really does affect them.
Speaker 5 (08:24):
Oh wow, really people go here to train, like so
they breathe better in other places.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
I wonder how that's like for like K pop idols,
you know, like there's there's sweating and.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
Oh wait, guys, we're coming all that we're going over.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
Colorado is a great place is to come to be.
Speaker 4 (08:48):
When people move here too, it's a big effect, especially
those with health issues because the elevation can cause like
seizures and such.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
Oh so, I I think I think it's the all.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
Uh, that's why a lot of idols don't come here
too much. Rosies diner better be really good.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
Okay, So that's gonna wrap it up for this first section. Caleb,
is there anything you want to say to that to
the radio.
Speaker 4 (09:21):
Have a good day.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
I will. How was the food?
Speaker 1 (09:27):
I tried the milkshake so far because I'm gonna eat
it later because then, yeah, sorry, I haven't tried to yet.
I'm really sorry. But the bit was amazing. It was
a community bookshap I was doing.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
Try this this? Okay? Okay? I will? Is that is
that like a Colorado staple? What is like a Colborado food?
Speaker 4 (09:52):
A Colorado staple, I'd say, is the green chili? Here?
Speaker 1 (09:57):
Wait, can we tell you a little bit about the
green ChIL?
Speaker 2 (10:01):
What is the green chili?
Speaker 3 (10:03):
So like it can be smothered on anything. It's just
green chili. Like it's a topping. You can have it
on like omelets sauce.
Speaker 4 (10:15):
It's it's kind of uh staple here in Colorado and
in New Mexico because in other states they don't really
have it. They only have like this thing called enchilada sauce,
I think, and they never have green chili. Colorado and
New Mexico are the only places you can actually get it.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
Wow, green chili on the enchilada, Green chili on enchilada.
Speaker 5 (10:38):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
Now I'm here talking about Rosies Diner, Rocky Mountain Oysters,
Rocky Mountain oysters. What is that next question?
Speaker 3 (10:54):
The jewels of the animal of a male animal.
Speaker 4 (10:58):
I can explain that.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
Okay, go ahead.
Speaker 4 (11:04):
So it's the part of the animal that you can't
find on a female and.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
Okay, okay, thank you, Caleb. Which which animal? Interesting?
Speaker 1 (11:22):
Oh?
Speaker 8 (11:22):
Okay, yeah, okay, moving on to our next segment.
Speaker 2 (11:35):
We have these.
Speaker 1 (11:38):
Band written q and as, so welcome back to the
next segment. We have band questions in everybody's hand and
I'm gonnass the mic around you guys are gonna read
the question and I'll answer it.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
I thought read these by the way off nervous. What
is your favorite city in the US that you visited? Colorado? Perfect?
Speaker 4 (12:08):
What is your favorite band or artist?
Speaker 1 (12:10):
My favorite band or artists UH to watch perform is Eighties.
I think Eighties are amazing performers and I hope to
see them live again.
Speaker 7 (12:21):
What is your favorite lyric from Dancing under the Moonlight.
Speaker 1 (12:25):
Oh, there's a line that goes, you stole my vision?
Who you stole my eyes? And it's like it's like,
like is everything that I see is you? And it's
like the day that I find you not beautiful is
the day that I don't want my eyes anymore.
Speaker 3 (12:39):
Yeah, okay, sorry, this one isn't as deep, but pick
one that has to go chicken steak or seafood or
beef for seafood.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
So I love food too much.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
This is deep.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
For me. I think chicken.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
I feel like I feel like the best beef and
the best seafood and the best chicken.
Speaker 2 (13:09):
I feel like the best chicken is like the worst.
But then like chicken is good normally, you know what
I mean? Yeah, but you can't really make like wag
you chicken. Yeah, yeah, thank you for that question.
Speaker 3 (13:20):
Person.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
What's your favorite podcast moment?
Speaker 1 (13:26):
My favorite podcast moment is being able to spend time
with you guys here and I just really have a conversation,
you know what I mean. It's like it's kind of
eliminates a barrier, Like there's so much like, oh, like
this is idle, this is the fan, like all these
things was like, no.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
You were hanging out, we're kicking it. This is clown
town and I'm down a clown. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (13:46):
Okay, if you could be any idol for a day,
who would you be?
Speaker 2 (13:54):
I would be bats junk Cook.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
Or BT as Gym and so I could be next
to bet as Jim Cook.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
I'll dragon nice, I don't. I don't know how to
ask this. Okay, could you flex for us? Oh? No,
hom I've been waiting all day for someone to ask.
Speaker 7 (14:22):
What.
Speaker 3 (14:23):
Oh my god, nice, We're going around, We're going.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
Quick. I'm putting on a breath. Happy word. You want
a candle in here?
Speaker 5 (14:44):
My cake? My kind of cake?
Speaker 2 (14:49):
I mean, like short breath. I'm like I'm pulling apart,
I'm sweating. All right, Okay, all right? What's your favorite
place you want to go in Denver? After this?
Speaker 1 (15:04):
What's my favorite place I wanted to go to in Denver?
I want to go try the Mountain Pearls. So some
place with green chili, Enchilada.
Speaker 9 (15:17):
And Rosie Diner hopefully to have that, Yeah, with my
lau and my tope bag, my wired epos.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
Around six seven o'clock. Yeah, yeah, you should recommendation. Oh
go ahead, you should. You should check out milk Tea.
People shout out milk Tea.
Speaker 4 (15:39):
Yes, yes, it's in downtown.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
But I'm telling you it's.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
Whatever happens in downtown season. Okay, all right? Is there
anything anyone wants to ask on their own? Yes?
Speaker 4 (16:03):
How many places do you estimate that you've been to.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
WHOA, that's a good question. Wow. I think it's been
like twenty.
Speaker 1 (16:20):
States and country wise like probably not a lot, you
know how I keep up idols, They're like, we're going
on a world tour and then is New York, LA.
So country wise maybe I've been to Germany, Italy, France,
(16:44):
I've been to Indonesia, Uh, Korea.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
Wom that's America.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
Unfortunately I found that out when I was there my
third day there. Actually, I was like, yo, I can't
believe you. I'm in like wom I don't know, Like
there's actually America, oh and uh, Brazil, like hopefully more
and more places.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
And it's only possible.
Speaker 1 (17:10):
Because of like what we do here. So thank you
for allowing me to have those experiences. Like that's such
a gift. So thank you guys.
Speaker 2 (17:17):
Yeah, oh yeah, yah, of course.
Speaker 6 (17:19):
How would you describe your style?
Speaker 2 (17:21):
My style? Oh my gosh, Joe.
Speaker 1 (17:25):
You know, yesterday I was hanging out with my manager
and and I just walked out and he looked at me.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
He was like, Dame, you've got that summer fit. And
I was like, what do you mean? He said, some
more thise some of that. So maybe that's how I
would describe it.
Speaker 3 (17:42):
Yeah, And so if you've had any hardships in your life,
how have you gotten through that?
Speaker 2 (17:52):
Mmmm, that's a crying I'm James. I think.
Speaker 1 (18:00):
A lot of the work that I've been doing recently
is grounding and anchoring myself in my community, knowing that
there's people around me who love me, and that they
love me for me, and that no matter what, I
love me and the people around me love me. So
there's nothing to be ashamed of. There's nothing to be
afraid of or anything. Just if you're outside and your
(18:23):
being perceived, it's okay how they perceive you because you
know what you are and you carry that around.
Speaker 4 (18:28):
So yeah, yes, what would be something that you would
wish to redo in life?
Speaker 2 (18:40):
If you.
Speaker 1 (18:44):
I'm gay, there's a lot of things that I wish
I can redo. I think that as you grow up,
as you go through life, you're gonna make a lot
of mistakes and you're gonna wish that you can for
a lot of things, but at the end of the day,
you can't. And I'm so happy to be here in Colorado,
in this store in front of you guys, and that
(19:06):
wouldn't have been possible if all those mistakes didn't happen,
and I didn't learn from all those mistakes. If you
didn't make those mistakes, I wouldn't be able to think
the way that I do today and learn from that
and be able to teach someone else.
Speaker 2 (19:16):
Maybe, you know.
Speaker 1 (19:18):
So, I wish I could redo a lot of things.
I'd probably like write down like two hundred things, to
be honest, but I can't. So just tomorrow, I'm gonna
do my best. You know, yes, if you could.
Speaker 5 (19:33):
If you could be an animal, what animal would you be?
Speaker 6 (19:36):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (19:36):
Damn a butterfly? Yeah? Be a butterfly?
Speaker 1 (19:43):
Ye?
Speaker 2 (19:44):
Oh, go ahead.
Speaker 3 (19:45):
What would be your dream headline act?
Speaker 2 (19:48):
If you had your your.
Speaker 3 (19:50):
Your pick up, anybody to tour with you, your dream tour
that you got to put together?
Speaker 2 (19:57):
Dream headline act?
Speaker 8 (20:00):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (20:03):
Yeah, just just Boomhan featuring Boomhan. We're actually joking about
my alter ego and we're like, no, I'm gonna join
a boy band. It's just me and my three other personalities.
The other question, okay, yes it's not deep, but can
you break dance?
Speaker 4 (20:21):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (20:21):
Yeah I can. I'm sorry, sorry, sorry, I'm so sorry.
I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I like just I just I
feel like sometimes I feel like low John, just like yeah,
all right.
Speaker 1 (20:31):
Unfortunately, guys, this is gonna be the last question and
we're gonna wrap it up. And now we are here
with the host of the event, the owner of the store.
Speaker 6 (20:39):
The wonderful Stephanie with K Pop Exchange.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
Could you do like a formal introduction for like all
of our radio listeners.
Speaker 6 (20:47):
I'm Stephanie. I own k Pop Exchange, which is an
online and retail store that sells K pop albums and
merchandise and we shift to customers all over the world.
Speaker 1 (20:57):
Wow, and today you threw the event. Have you done
like events like this before?
Speaker 6 (21:02):
No, this is our first one and we're so excited
to have you. I wanted you to come to the
store for so long and today is the day it
finally happened.
Speaker 2 (21:11):
Thank you, Thank you for bringing me.
Speaker 1 (21:13):
And like there was like some like postponing and like
all these things. I'm just glad we finally got to
do it. And this being your first event, like, do
you see yourself like doing like more of this.
Speaker 6 (21:22):
I would love to do more events. It was scary
putting the first one on because you don't know what's
going to happen. How it's gonna go. But once you
have one down, it becomes so much easier. And we'd
love to host more idols, more ca pop groups. We
love to bring more ca pop to Colorado as much
as we can.
Speaker 1 (21:39):
So and you're doing it and I remembered you told
me like earlier, You're like, oh, like the reason why
we did this whole thing was because I saw you
in Atlanta. Yeah, and you were I was doing like
a cap pop store in Atlanta, and You're like.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
Oh, we could totally do this.
Speaker 1 (21:52):
And you know, like these videos they're gonna be uploaded,
this podcast is gonna be listened to, and someone in
like I don't know Oregon is gonna be.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
Like I saw I saw her doing No, it's my turn,
you know.
Speaker 1 (22:04):
So like what happened here today, it was so special
and thank you for taking having the courage to like
kind of come up and be like this is this
is what I'm gonna do for the community. You know, like,
how do you like, how do you see this event
going in the future.
Speaker 6 (22:17):
I think it'll be a lot easier in the future.
Once people know we're here doing an event, it'll spread
the word and make it a lot easier. And we
just want people to know, Hey, we're here to bring
k FOV to Colorado, Please come out and support.
Speaker 1 (22:31):
Oh do you think you're you're kind of channeling more
of the Colorado audience. You're trying to like expand more
outside of this kind of region.
Speaker 7 (22:42):
We're doing both.
Speaker 6 (22:42):
We have our online store where we reach customers all over,
but locally, we want to expand as much into Colorado
as possible. We actually do get customers from all over
Colorado and you're by state to come here. But with
online we're able to reach people all over the world.
We have customers from so many different countries, and so
it's nice to have both to be able to serve
(23:04):
K pop fans from all over.
Speaker 1 (23:06):
Okay, what is like the main difference you feel between
like the online and.
Speaker 2 (23:11):
Like the local stores.
Speaker 6 (23:12):
It's very different. The products that sell are so different.
It's kind of funny. The album choices like Stray Kid
sells really.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
Well for both.
Speaker 6 (23:21):
But some groups like will sell better in store, some
will sell better online. It just depends, but it's very
interesting to see how things go. Some mrch will sell
differently light sticks, some stuff will sell bad online but
really well in store, and vice versa. It depends on
(23:42):
the group what's going on. But it's very interesting to
see the demographics of Colorado who they stand versus worldwide
who who?
Speaker 2 (23:55):
Who is Colorado's favorite?
Speaker 6 (23:58):
I would say stray Kid sells really well eighties and
Bomhan Yeah yeah, n you five dollars later.
Speaker 1 (24:11):
I feel as though like you get to like witness
more community here, and then the community feeds into each other,
you know, like like.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
This feels like a very community based store.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
You have a naked like Bugshan in the front, you
have a ab wall, it was like all these things.
Speaker 2 (24:27):
It's like it feels as dope. It was made and
created by the people, you know it was.
Speaker 6 (24:32):
And also outside of owning this business, I love to
travel and I've visited K pop stores all over the
world and love to support local stores. Behind me, this
abb wall that was purchased from I think it was.
It was in South America.
Speaker 4 (24:48):
It was.
Speaker 2 (24:51):
I'm blinking.
Speaker 6 (24:52):
We were in Buenos Aires. I don't think it was there.
It was like Monte Vito, Uruguay. I think it was Uruguay, Okay,
where I went to a very small K pop store
and bought that. But I've been to stores like all
over the world love to bring what they have here
and like I have stuff from Lima, Peru, from K
pop stores there. But it's a very community store built
by with fans from all over the world their merch.
(25:16):
I love to support their store and have it in here,
and fans in Colorado love it too.
Speaker 1 (25:22):
And part of that like collecting is I see, like
you have like black on stuff over there, and like
like like now like also, my stuff is going to
be distributed here too. It's like kind of like a
collection of the community's experiences and you come here why
Shops Dot you can experience everybody like off Colorado's experience,

to you is like like there was that kid, Caleb
who came in here and like was crying, like oh
it was so cute, but like today's a day that
(26:37):
you made happen. Like I do what I do, but
I don't, like there was no way for me to
have come here to meet Caleb if it wasn't for
what you did today.

And it's like I hope that as.
Speaker 1 (26:48):
You continue to like like do these events, maybe if
it's like a cup sleeve event or like inspire people,
more kids can experience what Kayleb did and what you
did say it was so special, And thank you for
