twenty and a half versus Northern Illinois, North Texas minus
thirteen and a half versus UTSA SMU minus six and
(02:39):

dot com slash busting.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
Look, get into the show.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
Yeah, there's a lot of uh, there's a lot of
chaos right now on the internet.
Speaker 4 (03:26):
Ton with this man right here.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
Josh Pate's known to stir up the pod a little bit.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
The JP poll put together by you guess the Josh Pate.
Josh pat puts these polls together himself.
Speaker 5 (03:37):
He handcrafts him. He doesn't use a method.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
It's like, this is his opinion and right now he's
got If you look at his JP pole week nine
edition BYU, just be Utah Utah, he's got Utah sixteen
in the top twenty BYU's not on it. He's got
Texas and Oklahoma head of Miszoo.
Speaker 4 (03:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
What's the questionestion is, where does your brain go when
you're putting these lists together?
Speaker 6 (04:03):
Well, my brain goes to the model first off, as
the model puts it together. Secondly, now you know better
than this the s Martin kid in the class that's
acting dumb. You know what that's based on?
Speaker 4 (04:13):
What is it based on? JP? Pohl? What is it
based on?
Speaker 6 (04:16):
Not rankings? It's power rating? What is power rating based
on exactly favorability. So let's go to the Utah Brigham
Young First off, ton of BYU fans came at.
Speaker 4 (04:28):
Me because of you last week.
Speaker 6 (04:31):
Me yes, and tried to tell me American Primeval is
not even based on real life.
Speaker 4 (04:36):
They just called it fiction.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
That's exactly all right.
Speaker 6 (04:40):
So that's number one reason why they belong above Utah
acording to you.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
A but just for the record, you did see last
week on the show American prime Evil is fact, and
that is a perfect representation of Brigham Young and that religion.
Speaker 4 (04:51):
That's why I picked Utah.
Speaker 6 (04:52):
Got you, Okay, keep going, more so Brigham Young than
the religion itself. I want it to be noted. Secondly,
correct me if I'm wrong. We picked this game last week.
Was Utah favored by three and a half at Brigham Young?
Speaker 4 (05:04):
Yes, yes, they were.
Speaker 6 (05:05):
That implies about a six to a six and a
half point gap on a neutral field, right, yes, all right,
the game was a three point game. Do we really
believe in odds maker's land and fan duel land that
shifted their perception of those teams a solid touchdown to
where BYU would now be favored over Utah if they
played this week. The answer is no, correct, No, of
(05:27):
course they wouldn't. So they still belong above Utah cause
or bringing me on cos they still be favored against
them if they played today.
Speaker 4 (05:33):
That's the end.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
And look, I know it's never our fault. Like we
picked that game. We actually did pick that game. When
you watch that game, Utah is what one for five
on fourth down? That's not eight eight plays turnover on downs,
nine play drive turnover on downs, ten play drive turnover
on downs, twelve play drive turnover on downs.
Speaker 5 (05:53):
No points we get points there like that Utah.
Speaker 3 (05:56):
Wins that game. Well we're gonna talk about by and
or by you and I will stay here in a second.
But we did have that game pegged. We did what
we were supposed to do. Those kids did not do
what they were supposed to do, and they screwed it up.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
Yeah, they made the show look bad.
Speaker 4 (06:11):
We were on the right side, Yeah we were.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
What are your thoughts on that rivalry being called the
Holy War? Yeah, and both schools wearing all red and
all blue.
Speaker 6 (06:22):
I love the name Holy War. I'm not a strong
lean either way on color of uniforms, but I will
roll with whatever anyone wants to roll with there. I
just think it's very important to note. I'm not sure
I pointed this out last week. I think I did
at one point. Anyway, let me reiterate, because we got
to call these people out. You can't let hall monitors.
Speaker 4 (06:38):
Run a sport.
Speaker 6 (06:39):
And there are certain hall monitor types behind the scenes
in college football that want to do away with the
name Holy War, like they want to do away with Farmageddon,
kind of like they tried to do away with the
world's largest outdoor cocktail party. Red River Shootout has gone
the way of the hall monitor.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
Civil War.
Speaker 4 (06:55):
Yeah, Civil war.
Speaker 6 (06:56):
May not even exist as a game period for too
much longer, So we can't lose the whole war.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
You know, the power you get when you are the
hall monitor though, or the line leader.
Speaker 6 (07:04):
Yeah, the only power you'll ever have in life. Like
you do have some power. The trade off is you'll
never elevate above hall monitor in life. So you got
to exercise that power. And that's how college football hall
monitors exercise power. They take away great rivalry names and
they go sell a watered down rivalry name to some
third party advertiser and slap the logo on the field
(07:26):
and everyone hates it.
Speaker 5 (07:26):
Yeah, I do.
Speaker 3 (07:28):
Everybody watching the show, we appreciate you guys being here.
If you are watching and you're not subscribed, please make
sure that you are subscribed. I want everybody to know
that I am if you guys want to join me
on boycotting Josh pat show.
Speaker 4 (07:40):
Oh my goodness.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
I saw the Sarah McLoughlin special Glaughlin Sarah McLaughlin special
with Nebraska, and that's where I kind of had to
draw a line in the sand because you sat here preseason,
you claimed yourself to be the number one Nebraska guy
in Nashville, and so when I saw that number one,
I thought it was fraudulent. When you were doing that
in the beginning and it was getting It was just
trying to pour into this psyche that we have going on,
(08:03):
and I thought you were a Foxhoil guy. But that
moment when I saw you drop that clip, I no
longer feel like you're a foxhol guy with me.
Speaker 6 (08:10):
Yeah, I feel like we were in the fox hole
and we died Friday night.
Speaker 4 (08:15):
No, that's what I feel like. I feel like.
Speaker 6 (08:17):
PJ Fleck found the Foxhole and PJ Fleck went both
sides of the foxhole.
Speaker 5 (08:24):
Now that happened, I know we're not dead.
Speaker 6 (08:27):
I know I'm dead. You don't know you're dead. Like
one of several great movies that Hollywood has produced, he
doesn't know that he's dead. I know I'm dead. And
so I'll ask you. This boycott is hurting me. The
loss hurt me. The boycott's hurting me. It's affecting my
bottom line.
Speaker 4 (08:43):
Okay, I need you.
Speaker 3 (08:45):
You're gonna see and you're gonna feel this hit through
your shoe.
Speaker 6 (08:48):
But I want to ask you, on the Sarah McLaughlin
Sash Laughlin Special?
Speaker 4 (08:52):
Did I lie? All I did was read a statue.
Speaker 5 (08:55):
He didn't lie.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
But all the games that are out there, all the
teams that could have had the Sarah mcglaw special.
Speaker 5 (09:01):
Could have been myer, could could have could not.
Speaker 4 (09:05):
But no, I.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
Wanted you wanted just to poor salt in the wound,
to to Husker Nation.
Speaker 4 (09:13):
But I didn't lie.
Speaker 3 (09:15):
I'm trying to wrap my head around. I'm stuck on
your saying we're dead.
Speaker 5 (09:20):
That's the one that's got me spiced up right now.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
So we started with something that got you spiced up,
and you realize there's another ingredient.
Speaker 5 (09:26):
There's yeah, there's a double.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
This guy a little too much. Yeah, this is Woody
talking to buzz Light. You're trying to tell me he's
a toy. You're Woody.
Speaker 5 (09:38):
That's what this is right now.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
You know, two toys on the bed having an argument.
And I'm I'm the little boy in the other hallway
waiting for my birthday to start.
Speaker 5 (09:46):
I'm the guy where the helmet goes up.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
We had a tight rope we had to walk and
we felt.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
There. Yeah, I'm the pig. I'm kind of just there
for to hang out every once in a while and say
I have one liners. So go ahead, guys.
Speaker 5 (10:04):
We got hit and we got we got hit in
them out.
Speaker 6 (10:11):
But you get right against Northwestern? Right, Yes, definitely you.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
Got to be pissed off in that facility. Everything that
I've seen, We're right where we need to be going
into this game. It is a moment. This is the
most important week of our year.
Speaker 4 (10:26):
Are we really right where we need to be?
Speaker 3 (10:29):
I think I think the way I see the culture
and the way I see the team responding at the moment.
You just hope the product reflects what you feel when
you watch, when.
Speaker 5 (10:40):
You watch everything kind of unfold throughout the week.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
Okay, rules on the stand, when Butler's on the stand,
when Roola Luke, all the players talking, I feel like
I know what that feels like.
Speaker 4 (10:52):
Here's my concern.
Speaker 6 (10:53):
I've got ten fingers and I only need six of
them to count how many points we scored at Minnesota.
Speaker 4 (10:58):
Yeah, that's a problem. I really don't feel like we're
where we.
Speaker 5 (11:01):
Need to be.
Speaker 4 (11:01):
I know, I know he is.
Speaker 3 (11:05):
He's dealing stewarts standing over me right now, Like just
he made a good play, he made a great play.
Speaker 5 (11:11):
But why you got to sit there and empty the clip.
Speaker 4 (11:13):
On my chest. I hope you're right.
Speaker 5 (11:16):
I hope I am too, because I'm taking them in
our parlay this week.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
I was gonna say, I have the parlay here. I
know there's a odd time to start the parlay for
the show. But since we're already talking about one of
the teams in the parlay, should we just quickly say
our parlays before we get to these games?
Speaker 5 (11:29):
Quickly say the bust with the boys parlay? The boys?
Are you guys coming?
Speaker 2 (11:33):
You guys? Okay with that?
Speaker 4 (11:34):
I know it's a little bit.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
I'm going to San Diego State. They're playing Fresno State
minus two and a half this is the battle of
the old oil.
Speaker 4 (11:43):
Camp at Fresno.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
At Fresno, this is what.
Speaker 5 (11:47):
You're seeing with these two.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
His store is rivalry started in nineteen thirty one. I
got I saw I was looking for parlays. I saw
that this is actually a rivalry game, and it's like
the old oil can the trophy game, and I thought,
I need to be a part of this. That's my answer.
Any players a SDSU Aztecs Darrenmujie went there, high school
(12:13):
teammates onward.
Speaker 6 (12:14):
You ever think to yourself, let's take myself back to
nineteen thirty one.
Speaker 4 (12:18):
Yeah, America is.
Speaker 6 (12:19):
It's in the throes of the Great Depression, and somewhere
out in California, someone in San Diego and someone in
Fresno said, we've got some colleges. This country needs a
rivalry right now. Hell ya name it after an oil
drum and we're still going to be in poverty for
another decade as a country, but this begins the resurgence.
Speaker 4 (12:38):
In other words, we're right where we need to be.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
When everything else fails, lean on the rivalry games. That's
what makes America great.
Speaker 5 (12:49):
Yeah, I'm taking the brask in my seven and a half.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
Now, I wish. I was hoping for a notepad and
a pen, and I was going to take club's glasses
and sit here and talk to you guys about what
just transpired. Yesterday. You were talking about how Northwestern and
Northwestern is a good ball club. Sure the casual fan
is going to look at the logo and be like
bad team. But I could I hear you talking about Northwestern,
(13:12):
talking to all the guys about Northwestern. And then I
get a text from Clumb at eleven o'clock at night
be like, hey, we still need your Parla pick. This
is who, this is who Pate Scott, this is who
Will's got. And you took Nebraska. How did you get
to I'm nervous about Nebraska too. They're covering seven and
a half. I'm not nervous about Nebraska.
Speaker 3 (13:33):
My thought, all of my thoughts that come to my
head when I saw what happened on Friday night, is
we got our ass whooped against Minnesota. They beat our ass.
They ranted down our throat in the second half. And
you saw that you sit there and you were watching
the game, and the nerves are more of we're five
and two. We were also at this spot last year
We've been at this spot, you know, a couple of
(13:55):
different years, but people are out there questioning if Nebrasca
has actually taken a step in the rule year three era.
And so what I've seen from this team is we won.
We were three and one going into Minnesota with one
score games, which is again if you look at if
the absolute sickos of Nebraska know how important this new
(14:18):
standard and culture, how it's all coming together, how important
those wins are. Whether or not you sit there and argue,
and you can argue that it's Michigan State and it's Maryland.
Maryland's a tough team. It kind of struggle in October.
Michigan State kind of seems like they're dying now. They
were spicy for a second. So for me, I sit
there and watch it, and I see the way we
(14:38):
got beat on Friday night, and what my mentality goes
to is and you hear it from everybody talk and
I want to say, Luke the tight end. We thought
we were gonna you know, we're gonna go in there
like we're performing. It was like for a show or entertainment,
like we're gonna beat this team. We weren't prepared for
a sixty minute fight. So that goes into line with
my thought process of maybe the boys feeling themselves a
(15:01):
little bit going into this game, because again they were
three three and one three one score games that they've won,
they've won well, they've played better in the second half.
When they have those lapses in the middle of the game,
they figured it out, which again in the past, Nebraska's
found a way to kind of soil it kind of
just pissed down their leg. And so my thought process
going into this game, it's not nerves that we can't
(15:21):
that we can't handle this team. It's you can't walk
in against Northwestern with the same mentality and the same
attitude that you had against Minnesota, because Luke and everybody
else is right, like, you have to prepare. Vraybel would
tell us all the time whenever we'd win a game
that nationally national media wise, we shouldn't have won, and
we win, we come in and play down to an
opponent who's inferior to us, and then we end up
(15:44):
getting beat and Fray would sit up there and say, guys,
we can't I've told you all year long, we can't
just show up and beat a team because we think
we have a better roster than them, and I think
it's the same exact thing with Nebraska. I think the
guys have had their head down and it's just get
back to fucking work, because we're not just gonna walk
out there and win because we have better weapons on
(16:04):
the outside. We've we had the number one pass defense
in the country at one point, Like, you can't believe
that hype because you're gonna have to put it on
film each and every week. And people are out there
now questioning whether we've taken a step, and each kid
in that locker room, or each guy in that locker room,
and everybody on that staff, because you could feel it
in all the pressers, they know to a man that
we've all been challenged. And so to me, when you
(16:26):
go out there against Northwestern on Saturday morning, what's this.
Speaker 4 (16:29):
Is what I needed? Keep going rolling, keep going, keep going.
Speaker 2 (16:33):
I looked over at Paid to check his temperature. We
end up catching guys at the same time. I think
we both know the exact same thing.
Speaker 3 (16:38):
But it's legitimately when you walk out there on Saturday morning,
this team, everybody else you know, it's been the poison
has been around our shop. I talk about this game
with this urgency and Cooper Comstock sitting there, it's like, Oh,
it's Northwestern, you guys are gonna handle this team. And
it's like, No, that's the fucking mentality that's got to
be out, that's got to be gone, because this team
is They're five and two, they're two losses Oregon. They
(17:01):
lost by twenty at Oregon. It was close in the
first half, and then they lost to Tulane, who that
head coach has been in every conversation for a job,
for a promotional job, and they lost to two lane
in week one. Every other game Northwestern's handled. You could
talk about, Oh, Penn State's down. They know they died
against Oregon, they drop one against UCLA. You know everybody
(17:21):
on that roster is still like, everybody still wants to play.
Speaker 5 (17:23):
Well.
Speaker 3 (17:24):
They still beat a good roster in Penn State. Dude,
they bet last week nineteen nothing Purdue like this team
can do the exact same thing if you.
Speaker 5 (17:32):
Don't respect this game and you don't respect the team.
Speaker 3 (17:34):
So what my belief is on this Nebraska covering in
Nebraska Mine seven and a half is we're going into
this game not only respecting the team but respecting the
game and respecting the work that you have to put
in to beat somebody's ass on Saturday. That's what I'm
believing in. So I'm riding with Nebraska because this is
a Foxhoil game. Let everybody else with all the question
marks everything that's the world. That's what's gonna happen. There's
(17:57):
a lot of noise right now around Nebraska, and it's
how you spawn this weekend. And I'm gonna love the
way we respond because I'm gonna I'm there. I'm with them.
I'm on the fucking team.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
That's why I like him, Josh pay this is why
we should. I'm happy we started with the weekly parlat
because I don't know if that kind of energy is
there at the end of all five of those games.
Speaker 4 (18:18):
Here's what we know though Nebraska is in what conference?
Speaker 5 (18:21):
The Big Ten?
Speaker 4 (18:22):
Nebraska has how many losses right now? Two?
Speaker 6 (18:25):
If Nebraska wins the remainder of its games, their record
will be ten and two. Will a ten and two
Big Ten ever be left out of the playoff? No, Therefore,
maybe we're not so dead.
Speaker 5 (18:39):
So I might need something for you next week. We
handle business.
Speaker 6 (18:42):
I just maybe I come back out yeah, I'm just
missing a limb.
Speaker 2 (18:48):
Here's a flush one.
Speaker 4 (18:49):
Still room in there for me.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (18:50):
Yeah, that's how fox holes work. I guess when you come,
you go, you come, you go. That's how fox holes work.
Speaker 5 (18:55):
There's always gonna be room for you.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
He's the most insane five minutes of the show I've
ever seen.
Speaker 6 (19:08):
He's as dead. Well, I'm gone, but we're gonna win
this week. We could still make the playoff.
Speaker 4 (19:13):
Can I come back in? I got you, bro, I
got you, all right?
Speaker 2 (19:20):
And you're taking Arkansas.
Speaker 4 (19:22):
Give me the picks. Hugh Freeze is done. Give me
give me Arkansas.
Speaker 2 (19:25):
You're done with your Hugh Freeze is done.
Speaker 4 (19:27):
He will lose his job if they lose this game.
Speaker 5 (19:29):
Man with you to win.
Speaker 4 (19:32):
You're saying, yeah, I'm taking Arkansas. Yeah, I'm taking Arkansas.
Speaker 6 (19:36):
It crossed zerocause arsas minus one and a half. It
opened at Arkansas plus one and a half. Yeah, I
think Arkansas is gonna win. They've played two competitive games,
like they pushed Tennessee. They pushed A and M last week.
Auburn is they have not quit. Like Auburn's playing hard.
They're just not a great team and they're gonna go
up there Auburn. People call Fayetteville Fayetnam because of how
(19:56):
tough it's been for them to play up there over
the years. And I think it lives up to it
name this week. And then I think before the planes
even back in Lee County, I think you got a
lot of smoke around, Hugh Free, There's already a lot
of smoke. So I think if they lose this game,
then there's probably gonna be action down there, So keep
an eye on that.
Speaker 2 (20:13):
Okay, is this the first week we've been together or
the first ti everybody ever since Billy Napier was that
last week.
Speaker 4 (20:21):
That this is the first time.
Speaker 5 (20:22):
This is the first time we've been together since, But
we assumed it last week.
Speaker 2 (20:25):
And that's your boy. Yeah, do we think in for
sure this is Lane Kiffin. He's going to Florida.
Speaker 6 (20:31):
I think for sure it's his job to turn down Really, yeah,
I said, and I will maintain this. I don't know
if he has fully made his mind up yet.
Speaker 4 (20:41):
Now.
Speaker 6 (20:41):
There's a difference, as we have said on the show before,
there's a difference in someone theoretically puts a scenario in
front of you and you have a thought versus someone
puts an offer on paper in front of you, and
you have to actually sign on the dotted line. So
even if he thinks, ye, I'm probably gonna take the job,
you don't know until they put the offer in front
of you, and then you've got old missus counteroffer, and
(21:01):
then you've weighed in your mind how much does legacy
matter to me? Because if he stays in Oxford, he'll
win for a long time and they'll name streets after
him and he'll be set for life. Right or there's
the fork in the road. That's one path. The other
path is legacy. I can just go make a new
one at Florida, and maybe he does, maybe he doesn't.
But I really I think I can win a national
title there. I don't know if I can win one
(21:21):
at Old Miss Now. The Old miss people will say
landscapes changed, man, This is not fifteen years ago. There's
not a whole lot of separation between these programs. It's
just who has the best NIL structure. And by the way,
low key, we've got a better win than Florida, and
Florida says yeah, but we could back up a brink struck.
You never could. We just want to harness it to
the right guy. That's a bunch of smoke. You got
to clear it, you to see where your heart's at.
(21:43):
But he's gonna have to tell them no before they
move on to number two. Who I think would be
Eli Drinkwitz, who would take the job, I believe.
Speaker 4 (21:49):
So it's a very short list.
Speaker 6 (21:50):
I don't think they're going to get past one or
two names.
Speaker 5 (21:54):
Okay. I agree with you on the structure too.
Speaker 3 (21:55):
I was talking to somebody about even A and M
like Elko and his his name coming up and stuff.
Obviously we've had the rule conversations as well. I very
much believe that it's like if you're a Link Kiffin
and you're out Ole Miss and all those things are
laid out and you have all the NIL structure support
in the world, it's not it's not like you're making
move now for logos because of recruiting and everything else.
(22:17):
It's all tied more to money. And if you have
your system in place, you feel good about where you're
at and everybody behind you is giving you whatever you
need NIL structure wise, why would you leave? Why would
you leave a program that honestly could compete. You're in
and you're out for a national title like an old miss.
Just to not joke with the Nebraska stuff, but like
an old miss, like a Texas A and M. Why
(22:39):
would you move from Is there a reason that Elco
would want to move from an A and M when
you basically have all this support in the world and
it's you're in the SEC right now, you are showing
that you're the number one team in the SEC.
Speaker 6 (22:51):
There is no football related reason why Mike Elko would
leave Texas A and M for Penn State. It would
have to be personal preference. And I know a lot
of people have tried to sell on there being an
easier path to the playoff in the Big Ten. First off,
you don't know that that's always going to be static.
And secondly, is that really how a competitor's thinking to
begin with the very nature of the guy who's qualified
(23:14):
to be your head coach is that of a one
percent or a zero point one percent alpha competitor. Those
people don't sit around thinking where's the easiest path possible?
That's not even how those people are wired. So I
don't think that weighs into it. Now, if he's from
the Northeast and he just wants to get back there.
If your wife's family, I'm just making this up. If
your wife's family lives there, if you prefer cold weather
(23:36):
like that kind of stuff's not football related. It just
happens to work in your favor. The football related stuff
Like A and m's a better job than Penn State. Yeah,
not miles better, but it's a better job in Penn.
Speaker 3 (23:46):
State, especially because it's A and m's kind of established
right now to where you'd have to go and fix something.
Speaker 6 (23:53):
Yeah, and think about this, They've got all the resources
in the world, but no one's ever really harnessed it properly.
People have harnessed Alabama. People of harness Florida. Who's really
taken Texas A and M. Because it really hasn't been
this calibery job until the last fifteen or so years,
Like Johnny Manziel changed that place. So A and M
post Manziel versus pre Menzel's two different things.
Speaker 4 (24:14):
So anyone who.
Speaker 6 (24:15):
Throws out the past sixty years, I don't care about
the past sixty years. There they've been what they are
now about the past ten or fifteen years, and they've
made poor hires in the past ten or fifteen years.
So you've still got an opportunity all the way in
twenty twenty five. The sport's been around a long time.
We've gotten all the way to twenty twenty five. And
no one's legendary name is synonymous with Texas A and
(24:37):
M football, the way that Darryl Royle is in Austin,
the way Bow or Woody or whoever bear Bryant, Nick Saban.
Speaker 4 (24:44):
You could become that at Texas A and M.
Speaker 6 (24:46):
And you're not working from behind the eight ball. You've
got all the resources and it's just a wide open
frontier and you can go stake your claim.
Speaker 5 (24:56):
Great point, Josh Baufuitey said, Josh, should.
Speaker 4 (24:58):
We get to some games.
Speaker 3 (24:59):
Let's get to some We got our first matchup, number
eleven team in the country BYU one of six undefeated
teams left traveling to Iowa State. Iowa State is on
a two game road losing streak right now. They've dropped
their last two games. Right now, Iowa State is favored
at home by two and a half. The over under
(25:20):
on this game is forty eight and a half. Gentlemen,
who'd like to kick this off.
Speaker 6 (25:25):
Well, it's a letdown spot. Obviously, you just had a
rivalry game. If you're bring him young, you've got to
go on the road against the team off of bye.
On the down side, for Iowa State, they've got several injuries,
some guys out for the season. It's the Big twelve.
It is anybody's game any given week. I think that
(25:47):
after those two losses you talk about you guys talk
about losing a game going into the bye week all
the time. What about losing two games going into the
by and those were your first two losses of the season,
and you know, now your back's against the wall.
Speaker 4 (26:00):
Left a wounded animal, love love a wounded animal.
Speaker 6 (26:03):
This is a This is an animal that's been wounded
for really three weeks. If you think about it, it
has to get right. And you just had a big
rivalry win, and now you're gonna come all the way
across the country to face us, and we're rested and
we've got to have it. And you guys know you
can afford to lose. Iowa State needs it. Bringing me
Young just wants it. And so I'm gonna take Iowa
State to win the game and cover.
Speaker 4 (26:24):
I like it.
Speaker 2 (26:25):
Something about Iowa State, something the way you talk about
that head coach juices me up. But I remember Week
zero across the pond in Ireland, them going against Kansas
State and Will Compton's favorite to win the Big Twelve.
At that point, we didn't know what Kansas State was.
But I fell in love with the quarter back named
Rockobeck and I believe in him today. And I will
also be going to Iowa State plus to get their
running back Carson Hansen back, and he's got four point
(26:47):
four yards procured.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
Yeah, I was up in the air about this game,
just because you watch Iowa State against Cincinnati a couple
of weeks ago. You know Cincinnati was able to run
the ball very well. BYU is a team that wants
to run the football, set up their play action pass
hits you with deep bombs. But again when I rattle
off their game against Utah and Utah failing to get
points out of all these turnovers on downs, like I
(27:08):
know BYU seven and zero fan duel had them preseason,
They're over under on the season with six and a
half wins. They've hit that. They've had a hell of
a year. They're going into the meat of their schedule now,
and you know, you sit there, You could sit there
and play a game to where they end up seven
and five because they're playing they got Texas Tech, YEP, TCU,
Iowa State, Cincinnati. I forget who the fifth one is.
(27:32):
I like Iowa State here because you boys know, I
love Wounded Animals. This a Roco BEC game. This a
Roco BEC game. This is also a challenge for that
second level on Iowa State because you can't allow this
team to have success on the ground to put yourself
in that vulnerable state for those play action shots and
the things that BYU wants to do to win this game.
Speaker 5 (27:50):
But then going on the road.
Speaker 3 (27:51):
To Iowa State, Iowa State hasn't They've only lost one
home game since the start of last year. I love
Iowa State in this spot minus two and a half.
They got to come out with urgency. You gotta have
such an urgency in this game to where it's like
you you guys know when you're your back here, you're
in college and you're you're at the bar and then
lights come on at the end when when it's closing down,
(28:14):
those lights come on. That urgency to close to make
your moves, it's there. That's the urgency Iowa State has
to have this weekend the closer week, you're spot on.
Speaker 5 (28:25):
Yeah, the lights come on, come on.
Speaker 3 (28:27):
You're like, if O girls not buy you around you
kind of had some flirtations going on. It's like, oh shit,
the lights are on. It's it's like two in the morning.
You got to get rolling.
Speaker 2 (28:34):
Because you know, three four hours ago you felt real
good about the situation being. You're like, let me just
see what else maybe out here, and then the lights
come on. You're like, where is she?
Speaker 4 (28:43):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (28:43):
Where are they?
Speaker 5 (28:44):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (28:44):
At this point, that's the urgency. Alloway State's gonna have
Iowa State minus too and a half.
Speaker 2 (28:48):
That's fantastic. Can I ask there's more question for you,
since you're a big twelve guy. If b YU loses
the game against Utel, you TAH capitalizes on those points
and not having turnovers, does this game look differently to you?
Speaker 4 (29:01):
Yeah, well the dynamics would.
Speaker 2 (29:04):
You're saying if b YU lost against Utah, Oh, you
have two wounded animals we're looking at. Yeah, which wounded
animal is more of a piste off?
Speaker 4 (29:13):
That's American Prime evil.
Speaker 2 (29:16):
I wasn't gonna say it. Yeah, this is big twelve.
Prime is absolutely big.
Speaker 4 (29:21):
And that is a real thing.
Speaker 6 (29:23):
Unlike American Prime Evil, which according to Twitter is not
a real thing.
Speaker 2 (29:26):
Yes, and not only.
Speaker 3 (29:27):
There the three weeks of sitting on a loss, which
is on it, which is obviously brutal, but also I
would stay, like if you're going to stay and you're
going to have a shot with the big twelve, like
this is an absolute must wing.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
Yeah, you have to have it, have to have it. Finally,
make a little Bultra, this whole little bragging, Yeah, Superior
is worth playing for Superior Michaelo Bultr Superior like beer.
Let me tell you guys a story real quick. This
card is basically like you and we'll have a little
bit of a competition. Great, we're gonna read the card.
It's fun. Now all of a sudden it's become a
(30:00):
legitimate competition where we fight for Michelobultra. What's the record,
You're five and three against me, that's the record. And
now will and I will take rock Papersits's a whole
new level. Winner of this gets at Michelo Ultra.
Speaker 5 (30:20):
Superiors.
Speaker 2 (30:21):
We're playing for middle Vulture Superior, Light Beer. I'm now
four and five. The next game, number twenty two Texas
at Mississippi State, Texas is favored by what six and
a half points? Told, that is forty four and a half.
I'm not super familiar with Mississippi State, and I know
they took Tennessee down to the wire. I know they
got kind of roasted and destroyed by Texas A and M.
(30:44):
And then you look at Texas and it's like, for
whatever reason, they're still in it. But all year we've
been talking trash about arch Manning or people have been
talking people have people have not us rever rivally happens,
they had they drop one there River Red River shoot
shootout happens.
Speaker 3 (31:02):
And outside of Sam Houston, they kind of Texas struggles
to put twenty points on the board.
Speaker 2 (31:06):
Right And that's where I lean on Mississippi State. In
my baby Popper stat Mississippi State is undefeated against the
spread when they're dogs by ten or less. That is
what we're sitting in right now. And for that reason,
I'll be taking Mississippi State undefeated, undefeated against the spread
when they are dogs of ten or less points.
Speaker 5 (31:28):
How may I ask how far that goes back?
Speaker 2 (31:31):
Undefeated?
Speaker 4 (31:33):
That sounds like in all of history.
Speaker 2 (31:36):
Undefeated have not lost ten or fewer. Feeing yourself, will
a and m they move them on.
Speaker 3 (31:44):
I'm thinking, I'm thinking of myself, is this a twenty
twenty five stat?
Speaker 5 (31:47):
Or is this does this date back?
Speaker 4 (31:49):
Undefeated?
Speaker 2 (31:50):
Undefeated? Will undefeated? You say yourself, Texas gonna have a
hard time putting up more than twenty points a game.
Their defense is good. The defense they find, they kind
of find a way. They do a good job of
getting explosives. They can be sneaky in the run game like.
Speaker 3 (32:07):
Undefeated, but Texas's defense is elite. I don't think Mississippi
State will be able to move the ball. They're one
of the they're towards the bottom in rush defense. And
I know we've had our question marks. You've challenged this
running game at Texas. I think Texas will be able
to run the football against this team.
Speaker 4 (32:24):
It is six and a half points.
Speaker 5 (32:27):
Got a boy right here, he's off today.
Speaker 3 (32:29):
But this this is a Texas offense game right here.
Speaker 5 (32:34):
This is where it comes alive.
Speaker 3 (32:35):
This is where you start to all right, maybe Texas
is going to compete for this SEC championship.
Speaker 2 (32:42):
This is Texas money six and a half. Were you
thinking that last week? Even though we didn't talk about
the game versus Kentucky yeah, figure this is a Texas
offense that comes alive this week.
Speaker 3 (32:53):
Yeah, if we talked about that game last week, you
would have probably heard the same shit out.
Speaker 5 (32:57):
Of my mouth.
Speaker 2 (32:58):
Because the thing I get into is like, if we're
we're gonnaok at some of these games and we're gonna
there's one specific game I'm kind of looking at we'll
talk about in the next one or two. Is a
lot of people are like, this is when the offense
gets going. This is when and it's like, we're I know,
we're more than halfway through. People have been battle tested.
This is not Week one where they played a really
good defense. But the player it's like, we kind of
(33:20):
know what teams are at this point. And for me
to look at Texas and be like, this is when
they put up thirty five points, they're gonna cover. Like,
I think Texas knows they're gonna have to play great defense.
They're gonna to figure out a way to run the
ball even though they haven't been very good in that
situation and win games close. Yeah, that's the way they're
gonna win game.
Speaker 3 (33:36):
It's I I really like a pissed off sark, Like
he's got a meter to where he can kind of
be pissed off all the time. I think his the
tempo on this game, his meter, his pissed off meter
is as high as it can be. Because now he's
getting questioned about being a play caller. Uh while he's
the head coach, like, hey, don't you have an OC
(33:56):
they're kind of questioning him calling plays on offense, and
you can just feel that this isn't very much. This
is a pissed off Steve Sarksian. So that mixed with
the things that I was saying, like, I just like
a I like a pissed off sark here. I love
a pisto off c especially agains Mississippi State. Again, they've
had they've had an awesome year. They're they're great and
explosive plays, but again, this is an elite Texas defense,
(34:19):
and uh.
Speaker 5 (34:20):
Where Texas is.
Speaker 3 (34:21):
They've kind of struggled everywhere offensively, Like we talked about
the the guys that it seemed like they might have
had on paper and what they really are right now.
They don't have a lot of weapons in the old
line has struggled running backs. You were right on off
the stats when they were going into Oklahoma, Like, Yo,
you're Texas like running backs had however many carries like
you know, averaging very low number of yards. I just
(34:41):
think against this Mississippi State rush defense, this is where
this team can find success with their pissed off head
coach calling plays and it comes alive a little bit
to where next week it could be a conversation.
Speaker 2 (34:52):
With their PC.
Speaker 4 (34:54):
Here's what concerns me.
Speaker 6 (34:56):
I do agree with how pisson Sark must be to
have his play calling, his identity, really his humanity questioned,
if we think about it, because that is Steve Sarkeesian
to us a great play caller. Most of us don't.
I do know him personally, but he is a play
caller to me first and foremost. So he's got that
question about him. On the flip side, think about how
(35:18):
many times Mississippi State's been close this year. They had
Tennessee on the ropes at home, they let him off
the hook. They go down to Florida last week. That
game was such a Mississippi State win that Florida fired
their coach even though they won the game. That's how
close it was at the end. They've been close and
you got to get a signature win. They've got to
(35:39):
find the signature win somewhere. This would be the spot
to do it. Texas is struggling the top twenty points,
like you just said, for all to talk about Sark
and his offense. Jeff Leby thinks every bit as highly
of himself. He's not at Texas, he's at Mississippi State.
But Leby was at Oklahoma. He was the one pulling
the levers when they were rolling first year under Brent
(36:01):
Venables out there. And he's at Mississippi State now and
it's year two and they gotta have it.
Speaker 4 (36:06):
And I was really on the fence about this one.
Speaker 6 (36:08):
But I think in my mind, okay, some totals or
some final scores like twenty three to sixteen covers for Texas,
twenty to thirteen, twenty three to fourteen, like those cover
for Texas, I think they're gonna be ugly again this week.
There's no statement from Texas. I don't think of it
as that kind of game. I think of it as
a lower scoring, rock fight, ugly kind of game, and
(36:31):
Texas just somehow squeezes enough juice out of the Orange
to win by seven or more. But you still have
every bit as many questions about him. It's a back
to back road stretch for them second leg of back
to back road games here. I think Texas is gonna cover,
but I don't have a lot of confidence, and I don't.
Speaker 4 (36:50):
Think it's gonna be pretty even if they do.
Speaker 2 (36:53):
So this is a game too that you're not pulling
out the Fandels sportsbook gap and betting on yourself. You're
talking about it because you come on the show and
this is one of the as you have to talk.
Speaker 6 (37:00):
This is is what we call a j K S
a Jeremy Clump special. Okay, yeah, this is a game.
I'm only picking.
Speaker 5 (37:09):
Yeah Jeremy fair enough.
Speaker 2 (37:13):
For the sake of time. This can be rhetorical. But
do you think it's Sark it's the play calling that
people we were about, or is it Stark trying to
mask Arch in the possible shoulder and maybe the limitations
that he has right now?
Speaker 4 (37:25):
I absolutely think it's limitation.
Speaker 2 (37:26):
Got you not Sark?
Speaker 6 (37:27):
Yeah, well, I mean Sark. Sark absolutely think it's limitation.
Speaker 2 (37:31):
Okay, so you think this is an Arch issue arch Man.
Speaker 4 (37:34):
It's not just Art.
Speaker 6 (37:35):
I mean Arch is under fire every other play too,
So it's the guy's in front of him, not I
would say not. Yeah, Like they just fundamentally we talked
about this a month ago. They just fundamentally mis evaluated
whether or whether or not they needed to go to
the portal for O line help, and they decided, we don't.
We trust our guys in house, and they were. They
were either wrong about that or they realized there's not
(37:57):
a lot of help we can go get right now.
Either way, that kind of are what they are. Like
what you just said, we're past mid October. We're past
the time of waiting for teams to hit their stride.
They just are who they are, and so at this
point it can only get worse. Really like, at this point,
if you're limited offensively, you can only get worse because
you can only get injured and banged up. So I
(38:18):
just don't know that Texas is that team that's gonna
surge in November.
Speaker 4 (38:22):
Somebody is. I just don't know that.
Speaker 6 (38:24):
I just don't know if quarterback and offensive line and
lack of elite speed at receiver lend to you all
of a sudden finding yourself in October November.
Speaker 2 (38:32):
It's crazy that those three position groups are an issue
at the University of Taxs.
Speaker 4 (38:35):
Crazy. Maybe a one year deal only but crazy where.
Speaker 3 (38:37):
I'm at mentally, I have nothing but hope for teams
to hit their stride in the back half of the year.
Texas A and M at LSU, A and M ranked
three in the country. LSU has felled to twentieth in
the country. Right now, A and M is favored by
two and a half. The over under on this game
is forty seven and a half Texas A and M
(38:58):
minus two and a half. L s U was on
fraud alert for me back of the Florida game.
Speaker 2 (39:06):
They've been a far alert for you since Clemson.
Speaker 4 (39:07):
Yeah this you have?
Speaker 5 (39:09):
Yeah, I flagged.
Speaker 3 (39:11):
I flagged this early, especially when Clemson Law who did
Clemson ended up losing to in like week two or three,
Gia Georgia Tech like that that moment right there?
Speaker 5 (39:19):
Oh, is LSU even that good? Vandy handled him?
Speaker 3 (39:23):
I do have a lot of I was liking what
I saw from number fourteen. The tight end for l
s U. Tough dude to tackle. You got to get
him the ball as much as you can.
Speaker 4 (39:33):
I like A and M.
Speaker 2 (39:34):
Here, I just Cole Pitts looking type of tight end.
Speaker 5 (39:38):
Yeah yeah, where he kind of yeah along A couple
of times he caught it.
Speaker 3 (39:42):
I'm like, man, who's this receiver? Then I realized he's
a tight end. But this is, uh, this is I
like Texas A and M. I like TEXTA A and M.
Speaker 2 (39:49):
Here.
Speaker 3 (39:49):
I don't have a whole lot of thought other than
just like I've watched LSU play enough to know they're
not beating this A and M t where I know
A and M is not going to let this opportunity
this weekend and slip out of their hands when it
comes to staying at the top of the sec and
with two and a half points, Yeah, I just don't
think LS she's gonna do it. And I think it's
like I think, like the majority of that fan base,
(40:13):
they're gonna be there, suck my Tiger, dig all that
stuff could because it's you know, it's gonna be a
night game, it's gonna be rocking. But the moment it
goes the least mid sideways, the conversation is gonna go
back to how much Brian Kelly is not the right
fitted LSU right I think the I think weirdly, I
think internally they feel it, and we all know externally
they feel it, but I think it uh, it.
Speaker 5 (40:34):
Becomes even more of an open wound.
Speaker 3 (40:35):
After this Saturday night in LSU, when Texas A and
M beats them.
Speaker 6 (40:40):
Let me present a couple of scenarios to you please.
Scenario A LSU wounded animal back against the wall, plays
with their hair on fire, plays the best game they've
played all year. They harness the power of Tiger Stadium
at night where Brian Kelly is twenty and one at LSU,
and it's a spectacle. It's like I'm against Tennessee last
(41:01):
week and everyone's like, wow, dude, no one was going
in there and winning on this night, and all's well,
that ends well, And they're six and two and they
emerge from this game in the thick of the playoff race,
in the thick.
Speaker 4 (41:10):
Of the SEC championship race. That's the first scenario.
Speaker 2 (41:13):
Yeah, there is up to that stat that's.
Speaker 4 (41:16):
A popper, all right, So let me burst the bubble.
Go ahead.
Speaker 6 (41:19):
There is a really, really violently different second scenario that
I've seen happen at Tiger Stadium before. You're continuing to
buy in, like maybe you're skeptical about Brian Kelly and
maybe you're skeptical about the offense, but I'm going to
show up I'm an LSUFN, I'm a season ticket holder.
Speaker 4 (41:35):
I got a job to do.
Speaker 6 (41:36):
It's Saturday night in Death Valley A and M's coming
in kind of a low key rivalry vibe in this game,
by the way, that the nation doesn't realize, and it
starts poorly, and we're down fourteen to oh and we've
showed even in games we win, we score like twenty points,
so we already feel like we're behind the eight ball.
That place will empty out, and the ones that remain
will make it so toxic because they will they will
(41:58):
have been taken advantage of, and they will have been
played for fools again, and they will use the entire
second half of that game to voice their displeasure. And
all the power brokers are in their suites listening to it,
and the ad is in his box listening to it,
and Brian Kelly is on the field listening to it.
They got a bunch of recruits in town for this
game listening to it. Nothing turns a questionable situation sour
(42:23):
more quickly than a bad home performance, doubly especially for LSU. Okay,
so we've either got the sugar high offense or we've
got a sustainable offense sugar high is you remember last
week they popped one long run yep, got to the
one yard line and still couldn't punch the ball in.
But that was what they had to rely on. There
(42:43):
was not a lot of sustainability. They still haven't had
a one hundred yard rusher the entire year. So they
faced some teams that they can trust not to pull
away from them. A and M may be able to
pull away from you, like I trust Blake Baker defensively,
but you can't keep asking defense to bail you out.
And so if LSU can't run the ball again, and
they're relying on nuss Meyer, slash nut Meyer to bail
(43:04):
him out again, and he's clearly not one hundred percent,
and they're not leveraging their playmakers nearly as effectively as
Texas A and M does. A and M's going to score,
Like I'm a believer that there's a certain caliber of
offense in football that no defense is going to totally
shut down.
Speaker 4 (43:18):
They're going to get some.
Speaker 6 (43:19):
So I'm relying on A and M to find twenty
seven points. I don't know if LS you can answer
with twenty eight. I think A and M is going
to go in there and win. I think they're going
to cover, and I think the uncomfortability rating, the uncomfortability
factor is going to go from like six to nine
and a half. And I think there will be changes
(43:41):
that Brian Kelly is asked to make it the very
least internally, and I don't know that he'll do it
because it's his program at the end of the day.
But I think that'll all be downstream of this result.
I think A and M's going to win and cover,
still undefeated coming out of Baton Rouge.
Speaker 2 (43:55):
Yeah, I agree. I've talked to you, like a multiple
A and M fans a billion jiu jitsu with my
daughter last night and there was two A and M fans.
They were talking about this is when as a fan
of Texas A and M. This is when it all
falls apart for us. Happens every year now we get
high and then all of a sudden, this happens. I
disagree with them. I agree with you guys. I think
AM goes in. They might end the Brian Kelly era.
(44:16):
And they watched the Vanderbilt game and they say, well,
our quarterbacks not Diego Pavia, but he can run like
Diego Pavia. We can do similar things on offense that
they did and run the ball against in that way,
and they believe more in their defensive line than what
they saw out of the Vanderbilt defensive line who also
got pressure on not miner And for that reason and
that reason alone, I will take A and M this
week still out.
Speaker 4 (44:35):
Yes, I believe so. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (44:36):
Remember I've made it a point to low key keep
mentioning how Brian Kelly has not endeared himself to Louisiana's.
Speaker 4 (44:44):
He has such little equity.
Speaker 6 (44:45):
Built up for a guy who's five and two right,
for a guy who you know is mathematically still alive
for all their preseason goals. They don't like him. LSU
fans don't like him. So as long as someone you
don't like is winning, you're willing to hold your nose.
And that's okay. Man, football is great. I don't have
to be best friends with this guy. I could play
with him, he could coach for me. But the second
(45:08):
it goes sideways, or in LSU fans cases, the second
they feel like this season is a lost cause, they
will turn so quickly because they think they deserve better.
They happen to be right, they do deserve better. Everyone
who is coached there this millennium has won a national championship,
including a guy who randed up the middle every other
play in eight grass on third down, and a guy
(45:28):
who needed subtitles for you to understand what he was saying.
They won national championships. So if you're not going to
get it done for us, why are you are head coach?
Speaker 4 (45:35):
Oh?
Speaker 6 (45:35):
And by the way, we don't even like you. You're
not a lovable loser or he is not a loser,
but we don't even like you.
Speaker 4 (45:42):
You don't like us. Do you like yourself? We don't know.
That's how it turns if they lose Saturday.
Speaker 2 (45:47):
Is the same guy that higher Brian killers. He's still there.
Speaker 4 (45:49):
He sure is, Yeah, And I don't know if.
Speaker 2 (45:52):
You have any type of relationship with this guy, But
do you have to look back and even at his
first press conferences in the basketball arena using his fake
Southern accent, you had to know right then and there
like this is not going to work out long term.
Brian Kelly's personality has never seemed so wrong for LSU
and the culture there.
Speaker 6 (46:10):
That would require great instinct, and I don't know that
great instinct has always been exercised in the decisions that
have been made down.
Speaker 4 (46:18):
There hiring finance.
Speaker 6 (46:21):
They've gotten themselves in some issues because of lack of
instinct and judgment. Those who know will know, Yeah, yeah,
I'm not one.
Speaker 4 (46:29):
All right.
Speaker 2 (46:30):
We ended up this episode to bring you Form Energy.

we do the work.
Speaker 3 (47:02):
Ole Miss in Oklahoma this is a big one. Ole
Miss eighth in the country, Oklahoma thirteenth in the country.
Oklahoma is favored by four and a half at home
over under on this game fifty four and a half
this Ole Miss bounce back. Can Oklahoma keep this offense
(47:25):
of ole Miss at bay long enough to put up
enough points and win this game? Can they control the
line of scrimmage. Can they keep the Ole Miss offense
off the field. Can they get home with this elite
pass rushing unit against Old Trinidad. Trinidad's better throwing against
pressure than he is when he's not pressured.
Speaker 2 (47:45):
That's true.
Speaker 4 (47:46):
Do either of you have a strong feeling on this game.
Speaker 2 (47:50):
I feel confident about Old Miss, but there's always maybe
John Mateer's thumb is getting better. Yeah, maybe he becomes
the guy that he was earlier in the season, the
Heisman front running candidate. That gives me a little bit
of fear. Oklahoma being able to find success on the
ground last week, that gives me a touch of fear.
The thing that I lean on is Lane Kiffen his
(48:12):
play calling versus a great Bread Vnovuls defense. I think
he gets twenty eight points out of that. And then
seeing John Matteer, knowing the injury he has, it's not
an injury that's like if you keep playing the longer play,
it'll kind of callous over and get better. This is
not an injury that you can just play through and
(48:32):
be like, oh, it's like he's not even injuredy Moore.
This is the thing that if it's four weeks. You've
got to take all four weeks. If it's six week,
you got to take all six weeks. He chose to
come back for the Red River shootout, and I think
that was a mistake that was made a postgame press conference,
he literally said, regardless of how I felt, I was
going to play that game. So he's put himself in
(48:53):
a very unique situation. His legs haven't been the thing
that's got him out, Like he hasn't been throwing the
ball like John Mattier can throw the football, but he
also has been using his legs to extend plays and
get a whole lot of yards. So I have to
look at the drive chart for Ole Miss versus Georgia,
and until those last three, which were the most important
drives of the game, it was touchdown, touchdown, touchdown, touchdown.
Speaker 5 (49:13):
It was a fun game.
Speaker 2 (49:14):
It was a fun game to watch. I think they
have a I think lane Kip him has a bad
taste in his mouth. I think he could be thinking
about Florida. But I have to believe that he knows
like we're still in this mathematically and like for an
SEC championship where we could everything we want to achieve
is still right here, he can go get his name
(49:35):
on street signs and ole Miss and go to Florida
the next year and do the same thing. And I
think if he realizes what he has in front of him,
with the talent he has on this offense and this
Oklahoma run game was like a one game.
Speaker 6 (49:48):
Thing, I like, Ole Miss, you want me to make
you feel even better about that. I had an SEC
coach text me Monday, ole Miss is about to expose
Oklahoma's corners.
Speaker 5 (50:00):
That's a scary text here.
Speaker 2 (50:01):
That's a scary text to here. And it's also scary
to hear because I know there's a butt coming. Because
I do, I will start boycotting after the show because
we had a little therapy session on Bust with the boys.
But before I knew we were going to boycott Josh
Pai show, I didn't watch this prediction on this game.
So where's the butt?
Speaker 4 (50:17):
I think the SEC coach is wrong.
Speaker 6 (50:19):
Yeah, I don't think this CC coach really has a
clue what he's talking about.
Speaker 4 (50:24):
Dude only does it for a living, so so.
Speaker 5 (50:26):
What's supposed to make him feel better?
Speaker 4 (50:28):
Well, he already picked on Miss.
Speaker 6 (50:30):
Yeah, I wanted to another bullet in the chamber for him,
but he doesn't.
Speaker 2 (50:33):
They're going to expose Oklahoma's corners. And I'm thinking back,
I watched the prediction of this game on Josh Paig Show,
and it is not Oklahoma's corner is gonna be exposed.
Speaker 5 (50:45):
You like Oklahoma?
Speaker 4 (50:46):
Yeah? I love Oklahoma. I like Klahoma too.
Speaker 3 (50:48):
I feel like when you look at at FanDuel and
you see like you see Oklahoma.
Speaker 5 (50:53):
Favorite by four and a half.
Speaker 3 (50:54):
You've watched this old Miss offense, it's kind of like
it seems like it's a no brainer to go, oh
Miss here, but I do. It's like, uh, Oklahoma has to. Weirdly,
Oklahoma has to have this game because they have the
hardest remaining schedule in the season.
Speaker 2 (51:08):
Yep, oh Miss.
Speaker 3 (51:10):
Even if you drop this game, like it's a very
favorable schedule, they'll probably if they lose this game, they
would end up what.
Speaker 4 (51:15):
Ten and two? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (51:18):
I like Oklahoma here because I like the pass rush.
Speaker 4 (51:23):
They do blitz a lot.
Speaker 3 (51:24):
Hopefully they sit here and have you know, they're they're
sitting back and looking at everything, and you can't allow
this offense to get on top of you. You have
to you have to win this game a certain way
and it's through the running game, which again they looked
really good against South Carolina. Jeohn Matterier is health getting
getting better, and I'm betting on Jeometerier getting back to
(51:45):
the form of Josh Pate preseason heisman to where they
were performing before he got injured. I like Oklahoma. I
like Oklahoma here. I like him. I like the defense.
I like the run game they have to be. They
have to win this game again a certain way to
where they kind of bleed the clock. They control drives
(52:05):
to keep that offense out off the field, because again,
the old miss offense can get on top of you
faster than we got here, faster.
Speaker 5 (52:13):
Than a two pay in a hurricane. There we go.
Speaker 3 (52:15):
It can get on you that quickly. But I do
I like Oklahoma at home. I like them in the
spots where they have to have it Oklahoma minus four
and a half.
Speaker 2 (52:23):
I like what you said. Can you break down how
hard it would be to get a two pay to
land on your head in a hurricane?
Speaker 5 (52:30):
Oh, hurricane off your head in her got you?
Speaker 2 (52:33):
Got you?
Speaker 5 (52:33):
Ah?
Speaker 4 (52:34):
That's like the opposite of flower in molasses December.
Speaker 3 (52:36):
Yeah, maybe I worded that in correctly, But get on
you quicker. Than a two pay leaving your head in
a hurricane.
Speaker 2 (52:42):
Gotcha, we fink found it, yeound found it, landed the plane.
Speaker 6 (52:46):
A sentence that has not come out of any of
our mouths so far this year is Oklahoma's going to
win this game run in the football. But I think
Oklahoma's going to win this game run.
Speaker 4 (52:53):
In the football.
Speaker 6 (52:54):
They've sucked at it most of the year. They were
okay doing it last week. A couple of things that
come to my mind here Ole miss ninety ninth run
defense in the country. That defense was on the field
eighty plays last week, which in modern college football is
a lot. It's the second leg of a back to
back road stretch for them. I despise that Lane Kiffin's
name has been out there as much as it has
with Florida, me knowing full well Lane Kiffin has paid
(53:17):
attention to that and has not blocked the noise out.
You'll also never convince me that didn't play a part
in how Nebraska looked last Friday night. By the way,
you'll never convince me that Tulane didn't struggle to the
end against Army if not for John Summerl's name being
out there. We've never seen hot seat talk, and we've
never seen coaching karrosel talk to this degree in October, so.
Speaker 4 (53:37):
It's a new thing.
Speaker 6 (53:38):
So we're seeing how it impacts teams first ride around
the Merry Go Round. Also for everybody who's going to
focus on Lane Kiffen versus Brenton Venables, I actually think
it's a Ben Arbuckle versus Peak Golden game. Those are
the Oklahoma OC and ole Miss DC's, respectively, And I
think Ben Arbuckle is going to dial one up here.
Speaker 4 (54:00):
And I do think that.
Speaker 6 (54:01):
Unlike last week when ole Miss went on the road
and Chambliss, you know, everyone's touting his numbers against pressure.
He hasn't faced an elite pressure team. George is a
terrible pressure team this year. And so it's crazy because
you're thinking your mind, oh, you got to go into Athens.
Speaker 4 (54:15):
That's going to be tough. Not this year. It's not it.
Speaker 6 (54:19):
George is a good team, but that specific matchup is
not tough. This is the number one pressure defense in
the country. It is night and day different from what
he faced last week. It's night and day different from
what he's faced all year. And I really think they
can crowbar ole Miss offensively in a way that no
one else they've played this year could And so I
actually think that Oklahoma's going to tilt the game a
little bit.
Speaker 3 (54:39):
You're new for viewers that are bussing tuning in, Josh paid,
explain your.
Speaker 5 (54:43):
Crow bar theory.
Speaker 6 (54:44):
The crowbar theory is if you face a certain caliber
defense and you're vulnerable to it offensively, what happens is
they tossed the crowbar and the bicycle spokes, and the
bicycle does not slow down. If you toss crowbar and
the bicycle spokes, the bike just stops. You fly over
the handlebars, your face is all skint up, but it
doesn't slow down. That's the point is if you're averaging
(55:06):
thirty five points per game and you face an elite defense,
you don't think to yourself, h okay, we'll still score
twenty five twenty six. You could go from scoring thirty
five to oh, we've got nine on the board going
into the fourth quarter. How did that happen? You got crowbard,
That's how it happened. Now, you could set up a
short field defensively and you could score, and that's great.
You could score special teams. You could score defensively and
(55:28):
that makes the scoreboard look different. But in terms of
pure offensive production, it would stun me if ole Miss
just moved up and down the field this week or
even close to that like they did against Georgia early
in the game last week. So I don't think ou
needs forty to win this game. Consequently, I don't think
they'll score forty, but I do think they'll run the
ball a healthy amount. Do think they'll control tempo, and
(55:51):
I do think they'll control game script, and they'll win
the game and cover.
Speaker 5 (55:54):
So you don't see this Old Miss offense as one
of those offenses that's going to score no matter what.
Speaker 4 (55:58):
No, I do not.
Speaker 2 (56:01):
Oklahoma, Oklahoma, Oklahoma, Yes, ole Miss separation Saturday. This is
actually the separation Saturday. I think we're all, well, just
split the separation.
Speaker 4 (56:12):
I know I can't do another two and three. I
just can't do it.
Speaker 2 (56:16):
I know last time we went two and three before
the show started to go why were you two and three?
Speaker 6 (56:20):
Even the weeks where my picks go good, I'm having
to sweat Saturday night and I'm having to.
Speaker 4 (56:24):
See wait, all right, so let's say I went twelve
and four. Which games did we.
Speaker 6 (56:28):
Pick on locker room. Oh it's three of the four
I lost. Awesome, great feeling, great feeling.
Speaker 2 (56:35):
Do you think there's there's something in picking just more games,
just having more AMMO? I'm being concentrated on like three.
Speaker 6 (56:41):
Maybe I would petition to have a couple of weeks
where we just go fifteen deep. I don't even need
to break it down. I don't need to even make
a facial gesture. I would just love to rattle it off.
I'd love to go cal Virginia Tech on a Friday night.
I would love to I would love to talk app
State plus fourteen and avast old dominion.
Speaker 4 (56:57):
I would love to do it.
Speaker 2 (56:58):
If we stay this close in the standings and we
get to the second week in November and those last
two weeks, we maybe do that, just really separate us.
Speaker 5 (57:08):
Just picked fifteen games.
Speaker 2 (57:10):
Just pick every game.
Speaker 5 (57:11):
Bring back rapid Fire.
Speaker 3 (57:13):
Bring back rapid Fire, at least for a week. Maybe
the comments will tell us too. You get enough comments,
get the rapid Fire back. Pick fifteen games. We'll pick
fifteen games. Say yeah, the crowd is never wrong. Game
of the week, true classic game of the week. Every
Saturday's got games, but only one fits just right. And
this is True Classics Game of the Week.
Speaker 2 (57:33):
So it's also brought to you by True Classic. True
class you can find at Amazon and Costco, Sam's Club
and a Target nationwide, or at True Classic dot com
Forward Slash Busting. Your boy likes the tight pants. I
got the tight pants on right now. These are True
Classic right here. They fit great. You can get real
mobile on those boys right there. You're gonna do whatever
you want, do whatever you want, but you're gonna look good,
feel good, play good. In True Classic.
Speaker 3 (57:55):
We got Miszoo Miszoo coming to Nashville, Tennessee. Folto Light
Tour will be there. College game, They'll be there. Miszoo
is fifteen in the country. Vanderbilt is ten in the country. Look,
kay McConnell, Friend of the Show, Friend of the Show.
Vanderbilt is favored this Saturday minus two and a half.
The over under on this game is fifty two and
(58:15):
a half. Gentlemen, this is a big game.
Speaker 4 (58:19):
Is Nashville the center of the college football world? Now?
Speaker 6 (58:21):
Yes, yes, I think it's safe to say yes. Not
even a close second.
Speaker 3 (58:24):
No, sen you're trying to rattle through all the different
spots this game.
Speaker 2 (58:30):
Do they win out?
Speaker 7 (58:32):
That's still tough to say. They got to go to Texas. Still,
they've got the Auburn. Make of that, what you will?
They got Tennessee at the end of the year. My
guess would be no.
Speaker 6 (58:43):
Mathematically, that's a tough three game stretch to run. But
they if they win this one, the question is not
will they win out? The question is can they afford
to drop one more and still make the playoff?
Speaker 4 (58:54):
Taylor wants you to say no, so he doesn't have
to take the entire offensive.
Speaker 2 (58:58):
No, I've actually a comele of terms with that. That's
a great point, Mitch.
Speaker 4 (59:00):
I did, like if you start started budgeting for.
Speaker 2 (59:03):
That, that's one of those you call the financial advising.
But you're going to see a lot of things here.
Speaker 5 (59:07):
Just know, like I just know this is my fault.
Speaker 2 (59:10):
Yeah, this is my fault that this is happening right now.
It's just one of those deals. And I'm I think
I'm flipping the script a little bit. I don't know
if I'm subconsciously doing it because I want them to
lose and because I've been against them they're winning, and
now I'll flip it once I say I'm with them,
because I am taking Vanderbilt in this game, something about
magic Man and something about a school that you know.
(59:33):
Nick Saban says, there's no easy place to play in
the SEC except for Vanderbilt. They've proven that wrong now.
Something about Diego Pavia being in New Mexico, transferring with
Clark Lee when he got the head coaching job, and
just sitting the world on fire, not once, but twice,
doing it two years in a row. It's something that
we're going to be able to look back on in
ten years and be like, dude, I remember that run
(59:53):
from vander.
Speaker 4 (59:53):
We were there.
Speaker 2 (59:54):
Because now Clark Lee he's the head coach at Auburn,
He's they're doing whatever. You know, Diego Pavia, who knows
he's up to. But like, what a cool It's great.
Speaker 6 (01:00:03):
Story, great game, Diego in ten years fill in the blanks.
Speaker 2 (01:00:07):
That is the game. That is the game. And I
just I love the magic. I love the magic. I
think with Missouri wins that game, kind of the college
football peerists get to sit back and go, Okay, everything's
kind of put back into the place it should be.
We're gonna assume they're gonna lose one or maybe two
more of these in games, so they have a hard schedule,
and they're not gonna make the playof they're gonna in
a bowl game, that'll be it. But something about this
is beautiful, something about them taking LSU, being favored against
(01:00:31):
LSU two brands, one that's way bigger than the other,
and the lower the one and lower on the totem
pole ends up beating them outright and then doing the
same thing this.
Speaker 4 (01:00:41):
Week and own the game, own the game, just owned it.
Speaker 2 (01:00:44):
Like playing with their hair on fire. Getting a city
that revolves mostly around country music to revolve around a
school that is more known as a close to Ivanley
school than anything else. I think that's beautiful. And regardless
of how well Missouri runs the ball, drink away and
he's getting the noise from other college coaching jobs, I want,
I want to continue to believe in magic. For that reason,
(01:01:06):
I'll be taking Vanderbilt.
Speaker 3 (01:01:07):
Good for you, Missoo money line, Nice Missoula money line.
Hardy's coming to town. It's a team that can run
the football. Let's look at these trenches that they're you know,
that's that's that's facing off this weekend. Number one back
Auburg game last week. That captain on defense just talking
shit in overtime and then going out there and getting
a sack and attackle for loss, Like this is going
(01:01:28):
to be a dogfight. I like the dogfight on Missoo
side this game because if you look at who Vandy
has played in the trenches when it comes to running
defense or they're rushing, or like the run defenses they're
going against, and also.
Speaker 5 (01:01:40):
Teams that can run the football.
Speaker 3 (01:01:41):
They beat Georgia Southern, Virginia Tech, South Carolina, Georgia State,
Utah State, Alabama takes you through the air, and then
also LSU Miszoo can run the football. I think they
win this game running the football. I like Missooon and
the trenches in this game. I do love the story
of Vanderbilt. I like I love the Kate McConnell's getting
all the praise. We are endo we're Bandy fans here,
(01:02:02):
But if I'm picking this game, I like Missoo.
Speaker 5 (01:02:04):
I like them out right. I like him here in
Nashville during the fall do light tour.
Speaker 4 (01:02:08):
Now hold on Bandy's the number twelve run d in
the country.
Speaker 3 (01:02:12):
Again, the rushing offense is that they've won against. We
just talked about LSU. You look at Bama it's that's
ty Simpson.
Speaker 6 (01:02:19):
Hold on, let's just rattle them up. Bama number one
hundred and four rushing.
Speaker 4 (01:02:23):
Offense in the country.
Speaker 6 (01:02:24):
Who else, LSU number one hundred and seventeen rushing offense.
Let's try South Carolina number one hundred and twenty one
rushing offense.
Speaker 3 (01:02:33):
If you look them up, let's start. Let's go Virginia
Tech next.
Speaker 4 (01:02:36):
I actually don't have that written down. I never planned
on this.
Speaker 5 (01:02:39):
Dam Charleston Southern.
Speaker 4 (01:02:40):
I thought we were handing totally making a point, we're
gonna move on. It was really gonna flow. I've got
no clue what Georgia State ranks nationally.
Speaker 5 (01:02:48):
Then look at the then look those up.
Speaker 6 (01:02:51):
That's interesting. So tell me which team I'm describing here?
Speaker 4 (01:02:54):
All right? Run first team with a mobile quarterback.
Speaker 6 (01:03:00):
I third and fourth down conversion rate top five, actually
more opportunistic than elite. Defensively good pass rush, top ten
pressure rate without blitzing. Lost to Bama. There's chatter about
the head coach may be moving on after this year.
Which team am I describing there? There's no wrong answer.
Speaker 4 (01:03:20):
Yeah, it's both.
Speaker 5 (01:03:21):
Knowing we broke down Bama Mazoo.
Speaker 3 (01:03:23):
I know that Bama is really good or I know
that Maszoo is really good on third and fourth down
conversion rate, pass rush. I don't know the whole elite defense,
but they're very opportunistic. But I would guess we're talking
about Miszoo.
Speaker 6 (01:03:35):
Here we are, but we're also talking about Vanderbilt. I
describe both teams. They look in the mirror, they see
each other. So my very very advanced analytical take on
this is, whoever plays with the lead in the game
probably has the best chance to win. It would help
if we could figure out who that's gonna be. I
agree with you. I watched your preview video. I agree
with you. I think there may be. If there's a
(01:03:58):
crack in this game, it's that Bandy's run defense, while
statistically top fifteen, may not have been pressed on like
they will. Hopefully Ahmad Hardy able to run the ball
like he was the first five games in the season.
Speaker 4 (01:04:11):
I think that's just enough.
Speaker 6 (01:04:13):
There is no human being on the planet that is
equipped to play the disrespect. No one believes in us thing,
even though we're a two and a half point dog
more than Eli Drinklett's and I think they're going to
come in there, and I flipped at the last minute
last week and picked Lsu.
Speaker 4 (01:04:28):
I am not flipping this week. Somehow.
Speaker 6 (01:04:30):
I think Missouri is going to come in there and
get to win. If I'm wrong, If you're right with Vandy,
we enter a world in the last week of October
where Vandy can afford to lose another game and still
make the playoff. That's how big the stakes are here, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:04:46):
Which would honestly be a fun world for fun Nashville
and Vanderbilt Cave McConnell. He's sown by the shop to
pick up some merch the other day and I was
just letting her know. As he's walking out to his
vehicle to his truck, I'm just say, hey, buddy, Miszoo's
coming to town.
Speaker 5 (01:04:58):
He's like, oh, yeah, you know.
Speaker 3 (01:04:59):
I'm like, no, oh, no, Missoo is coming to town.
Little did he know that. I was like, Hey, this
is Missouri money line all day.
Speaker 2 (01:05:05):
Yeah, Well, you wait till the door closed before you
said it.
Speaker 5 (01:05:09):
I didn't say. I didn't even say that.
Speaker 3 (01:05:11):
I'm just letting him know so he can stay focused
and not here on this rat poison because we're fluffing
him up. Right, everybody in the world's fluffing up became
McConnell's clip. Coolmore just letting him know, hey, Miszoo's coming
to keep him focused. As he's getting in the truck.
I'm like, he doesn't know.
Speaker 2 (01:05:23):
Kid's got the right mindset. He knows that clip is
going extremely viral. I was at somebody's house last night
for a game night that my wife tricked me into
love game nights. Don't like him when they go to
one am. Don't like that at all, especially when ifter
drive fifteen minutes after that. But while we're sitting there
playing playing a game. On the back, there's the local
news going on. It's showing Gey McConnell's clip, Kate McConnell's clip,
(01:05:44):
and it's showing about how viral it's gone this one
play by this Vanderbilt offensive lineman.
Speaker 4 (01:05:48):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (01:05:48):
And then it shows him and he's doing an interview
on it. And when he's hit sitting at the office
and he's saying, I can't let that get in my head.
He's looking at me like den the eyes the fire,
being like we knew he'd be seven to oh six
and one going in this game. We knew this way
is the game. Those when to define our season.
Speaker 5 (01:06:04):
I have to believe.
Speaker 2 (01:06:05):
Now I there, and they've showed me enough. They've showed
me enough at this point where the story's fun, it's exciting.
Diego Pavi has no business doing what he's doing. I mean,
is there's no business Diego Pavia with his wrestler brains
(01:06:25):
to Will and sec team into a contender conversation. Yet
here we are, and I officially have to be here
for it and understand that my wall might hurt because
of it.
Speaker 4 (01:06:37):
I love it, all right.
Speaker 5 (01:06:39):
Oh yeah, I was gonna say go Vandy, but.
Speaker 4 (01:06:42):
I got go to Vandy.
Speaker 5 (01:06:45):
Yeah, to go to the game.
Speaker 4 (01:06:47):
Are you you know? I'm there?
Speaker 2 (01:06:51):
Doubleheaders?
Speaker 4 (01:06:52):
The book thirty game, I'm here, happen, I'm parked.
Speaker 2 (01:06:56):
Maybe a Friday game.
Speaker 4 (01:06:58):
It's Bold Softball Championships this Friday.
Speaker 2 (01:07:01):
Night, which, by the way, how's that going? Because every
clip you put is obviously always highlights, But talk to
me about the full game.
Speaker 4 (01:07:06):
Well, we're in the playoffs, which every team makes. We're
in the lineup hitting in the three hole. All right,
big dog, every bit as much pressure Friday as there
will be Saturday. Here in Nashville high.
Speaker 2 (01:07:18):
School baseball player. We talked about Diego Pavia like he
shouldn't be in this edition. This should this man? Yeah, no,
a baseball guy.
Speaker 4 (01:07:24):
I am Kate. I knew it was going to come
down to this.
Speaker 6 (01:07:27):
Yeah, I knew this Friday night in mid October was
where I was gonna create my legacy one way or another.
Speaker 4 (01:07:33):
And I gotta strain neck right now.
Speaker 2 (01:07:34):
So you know, yeah, you got two nights ago I said,
I got this kink back here, and I'm thinking so nervous.
Speaker 4 (01:07:40):
It's just hell, Josh, you want to play flag football
on Wednesdays. Let me let me talk after we get
through this season. I'm not going. I'm not going to
sports at once on you. I can't do that.
Speaker 6 (01:07:50):
I gotta They're throwing eighteen mile an hour fastballs at
me right now on Friday night.
Speaker 4 (01:07:55):
I gotta focus. I gotta like it on.
Speaker 6 (01:07:56):
Softball, Mitch, he's in a flag football und I saw
all that. It doesn't look like you need a lot
of help. Looks like you guys have got it pretty
well locked down. I mean, we're we got a silent squad,
solid squad. We haven't accomplished.
Speaker 4 (01:08:10):
Anything, haven't won undefeated, haven't won anything yet.
Speaker 5 (01:08:14):
Though I haven't won anything yet.
Speaker 4 (01:08:17):
Me neither neither of.
Speaker 3 (01:08:18):
I quicker reminder, if you don't already know, the Boys
have a profit boost token available every college football Saturday.
That's a profit boost on any college football Saturday. Bet
just open up the FANDOL Sportsbook app this Saturday and
look out for the boosting with the Boys profit boost token.
Back to the episode, Dog's the Week, Let's do it.
I'm riding the same train. I went Michigan State last
(01:08:41):
week against Indiana. Michigan State covered. I'm going UCLA plus twenty.
Speaker 4 (01:08:44):
Five and a half.
Speaker 2 (01:08:45):
I thought that was going to be I thought you
were gonna go in Michigan State to cover. Oh oh
oh no yeah in yeah, last week, I'm thinking, oh
my god, after the bus talk.
Speaker 5 (01:09:00):
Yeah, that's about Nebraska though, that's.
Speaker 2 (01:09:02):
That's about support. It's about friendship more than there's a
core foundational piece in there.
Speaker 4 (01:09:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:09:07):
Look, Indiana, this is the Indiana game. Yeah, u CLA.
Speaker 2 (01:09:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:09:11):
The spread right now UCLA is three and oh since
this regis playing each other, yes, yes, and they got
twenty five and a half points Indiana.
Speaker 2 (01:09:23):
You know you're still looking at that logo.
Speaker 3 (01:09:25):
Go no, I agree with well, yeah, it's more just
that it's so many points, not like Indiana is just
blowing everybody out like they're playing really good. They're one
of the best teams in the country. Signetty has got
them boys rolling. I'm not saying that. I'm not saying that.
All I'm just saying twenty five and a half points
is a lot of points against a team that is
three and oh in my brain, and I think should
be nationally for everybody else. They're playing good football. Twenty
(01:09:45):
five and a half points. This is not gonna say it,
but responsibly. Yeah, this is as good as it gets.
Speaker 2 (01:09:53):
Yeah, can we play, since I have the commission of
culture book, we play a little crystal ball game. Let's
just say, hypothetically UCLA beats Indiana outright, what kind of
conversation is taking place with UCLA and the college football landscape.
Is there a world where they've lost three games?
Speaker 1 (01:10:08):
Four games?
Speaker 2 (01:10:09):
There's three and three right now, there's three and three.
Speaker 5 (01:10:11):
But they've lost.
Speaker 2 (01:10:12):
Let's say they win.
Speaker 4 (01:10:14):
I'll tell you the conversation. Here's what the conversation would
sound like. There would be a group over here saying.
Speaker 6 (01:10:19):
Wow, you gotta hire Jerry Newheisl as the permanent head coach.
And then there would be a few people over here saying,
you understand he's not the current head coach, right, That's
what it would sound like. And then they would say,
could we introduce you to Tim Skipper, who has actually
been the interim head coach this whole time. He's gotten
a tenth of the camera time, but this is actually
the interim head coach right now. The conversation would be that,
(01:10:42):
and then it would be should we hire James Franklin?
Should we bring James Franklin all the way out here?
Speaker 2 (01:10:49):
That's would be the conversation.
Speaker 4 (01:10:50):
That's what the conversation would be.
Speaker 2 (01:10:52):
Do you think in nine and three UCLA team has
a shot to make the playoff? No? Beat the Indiana No,
I don't.
Speaker 5 (01:11:02):
Let me see.
Speaker 3 (01:11:03):
Yeah, keep going, but I'm looking at the because it's
not a shot in the dark and say they can
still be in the Big Ten Championship.
Speaker 4 (01:11:09):
Right, I'm trying to figure out.
Speaker 2 (01:11:10):
Who else Indiana. Indiana is undefeated, but.
Speaker 5 (01:11:13):
They're not undefeated.
Speaker 4 (01:11:14):
Il A went true.
Speaker 2 (01:11:16):
So both those are two Indiana one loss.
Speaker 4 (01:11:18):
Team Ohio State plays u c l A. I believe
yeah they.
Speaker 2 (01:11:22):
Do, so hostate will be a two loss.
Speaker 4 (01:11:25):
Tell you what? Tell you?
Speaker 6 (01:11:26):
What if if U c l A runs this and
they've got wins over number one and number two. Yeah,
if we think a nine to three sec team could
make it, why not a team with that resume in
the Big Ten?
Speaker 4 (01:11:38):
You gotta play U S. They play USC at the
end of the year too.
Speaker 5 (01:11:42):
Another one. They got the Huskers.
Speaker 4 (01:11:46):
They do well. So it sounds nice, but yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:11:50):
We're gonna end the conversation there.
Speaker 3 (01:11:52):
Oh holl State USC, you're missing when this ain't happening
for UCL, got you?
Speaker 5 (01:11:58):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (01:11:59):
My dog of the week South Carolina game Cocks plus
eleven and a half. No one believes that Alabama's not
going to cover this. That's a double negative. No one
believes except for Josh Pate. This is exactly when you
take South Carolina. This is defensive touchdowns. This is best
case scenario. South Carolina's offense is not on the field
(01:12:21):
all the entire game.
Speaker 4 (01:12:22):
Yeah, we got to get the offense off the field,
so we got a shot.
Speaker 2 (01:12:24):
This fifty five minutes Alabama time of possession. That's how
South Carolina wins this game.
Speaker 4 (01:12:30):
Oh man, I hate that, You're right. I just think
it's a terrible spot for Alabama.
Speaker 6 (01:12:34):
This is my National champ. I have texted Kaitlin Debor,
I have texted Kyme Womack. I have texted every coach
I can. I've texted the Sids. I talked about it
on the show and sent the clips to them. This
is the fifth game in a row where they've got
to be up, and they've been up for four of them.
And now the thought is, all right, well, we celebrated,
we smoked our cigars, we beat Tennessee. That this is electric.
(01:12:57):
I was there Saturday night, off the record, of course.
And so now you're trying to get to the bye week.
Now we're gonna get through South Carolina. Let's get out
of their healthy Meanwhile, it's the most wounded animal mode
that you'll ever be in. It's the last gasp of October.
You can't go winless in October. Has that ever happened?
Speaker 4 (01:13:15):
Not in the history of the not in the history
of the month, history of the month.
Speaker 5 (01:13:20):
I am.
Speaker 6 (01:13:21):
I'm very concerned that I'm sitting there looking at Bama,
notorious for not turning the ball over, being minus three turnovers,
and it's a dog fight slash cock fight in the
fourth quarter. I'm very concerned about this. They could also
win thirty eight to ten. But I'm very concerned. I'm
very concerned about the game.
Speaker 2 (01:13:37):
Is that What makes more fun is you can see
both things happening.
Speaker 5 (01:13:40):
Yeah, what's the upset meter at here?
Speaker 6 (01:13:43):
The pucker meter is at six and a half as
the game kicks off, give me a six and a half.
Speaker 4 (01:13:48):
What time is it kickoff?
Speaker 6 (01:13:49):
Yeah, it's not a night game, but it's not an
early kick It's going to be happened in the same
time that Faul don't lie is at Missouri Vanderbilt, So
it's going to be one of those classic hope for
good wi Fi at Van Dy so we can keep
tabs on both.
Speaker 4 (01:14:03):
Games at once. Vanny has decent Wise, they do actually
shockingly good WiFi.
Speaker 5 (01:14:07):
Ye, shockingly good WiFi. You can get around in that
in that statee which is nice, which is nice?
Speaker 4 (01:14:16):
No home, did you do? Give me Cal? Really?
Speaker 6 (01:14:24):
On principle, Virginia Tech has no business landpoints against anyone.
This is a Friday night game. Weird Stuff's been happening
on Friday night for a long time now this season,
and so I'm gonna take Cal plus four and a
half decent shot they win the game out right?
Speaker 4 (01:14:37):
Where's the game at it's in black spur. Oh, it's in.
Speaker 5 (01:14:40):
It's in it's averaging.
Speaker 2 (01:14:41):
Yeah, we'll try to process that is.
Speaker 3 (01:14:44):
No, I'm sitting here thinking like I'm thinking like I
can like that pick. I'm thinking I could like that
pick if it's in cal That kind of makes me nervous.
Caw playing Minnesota earlier this year beat them.
Speaker 4 (01:14:56):
Mm hmm. Yeah, it's on the football field, that's all.
Speaker 2 (01:14:59):
Yeah, the yard.
Speaker 4 (01:15:00):
I know I know Minnesota to travel out to go
fair enough.
Speaker 2 (01:15:05):
Also, I know we're by the end of the show. However,
it is a little brother week. Michigan is playing Michigan State.
Were there fourteen and a half right now? I believe
so this hat right here bwtv dot com. That's where
you can get this hat. We are going to I
texted all the people you texted from Alabama, all those titles.
I texted them as well. I said, this is a game.
You're up by twenty one, you score again, and you
(01:15:25):
go for two like that is this type of game.
So I'm taking Michigan responsibly to cover fourteen and a half.
Speaker 4 (01:15:32):
Surprise you to put him in the parlay.
Speaker 2 (01:15:34):
I was going to put them in the parlay you
put Nebraska in the parlay, and I thought it would
be unfair to the fans for both of our fandom
to take over that parlay.
Speaker 4 (01:15:42):
That's true, So I took.
Speaker 2 (01:15:44):
Mine away because I was with you yesterday during all
those conversations, and I thought, let me support, let me
remove my fandom. Say that at the end of the show,
move on. But I will be taking Michigan minus fourteen
and a half.
Speaker 4 (01:15:57):
That's the difference between an amateur and a professional.
Speaker 2 (01:15:59):
Thank you, Yeah, and I will. This is a Bryce
Underwood in the air game Michigan say it does not
do well against the run. They know that, Michigan knows
that they will bring everybody down in that box. Bryce
Underwood will have a Oh that that's the player we've
wanted to see. This is everything gearing up the last
week in November. Game yes three, Yes, the first one.
(01:16:25):
It would be the only way I don't see that
happening other than all the other ways would be they're out,
they're done halfway through.
Speaker 4 (01:16:34):
But there's only one way you don't see it happening.
Speaker 2 (01:16:37):
That The only way I don't see it happening in
this game is it's you know, six minutes left in
the third quarter. We're pulling guys, but it's a rivalry game.
Crazy things can happen. Bryce Underwood, Donovan mccoley, Smage Morgan,
Andrew marsh We're getting a tight ends back. Let's have
(01:16:58):
a day, boys, Let's have a day.
Speaker 3 (01:17:00):
You guys all have a day. Thank you for tuning in,
Big out sign and cases. We will see you next week.
Let's win them all this weekend. Separation Saturday.
