Speaker 1 (00:18):
Paul right then, Hannah, mm hmm, it seems as if
we're back for a.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Love Maybe I know I have to do this quiet
air horns because enthusiasm was in question being do you
ever over zealous?
Speaker 1 (00:40):
Is that they told you? Who told you that?
Speaker 2 (00:44):
I'll take the topic like a lot of energy, but
I get excited.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
Here's how you make it aggressive? You you do it,
you you do. I'll chime in with something very aggressive,
but you do your your air horse.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
I think I made it better. Such a chill laft meeting,
you guys, as you guys can tell God. I will
dive straight into our first email. You know. Laft meetings
are about when y'all join the show. Hime in, let
us know what you're thinking. This one is from Anya.
(01:25):
It says Hi Hannah Hannah's mom. Oh my gosh, my
mom is gonna love that. Her name is Helen, by
the way, Helen and lamourne if you're in the loft
this fine day, Yes he is. He is in four D.
I'm Anya, a brit in Lisbon on her you abroad
at the moment, okay, humble bragg, I was listening to
(01:46):
a loft meeting and making my coffee, which made me wonder,
what would your characters and the rest of them order
at a coffee shop? What would be their order? In
my head, Cec likes a black coffee, whilst Winston is
a frape. If that makes any sense, of course, feel
free to disagree, and it would be remiss. Oh, I
(02:07):
also would be remiss if I didn't ask. Since the
gang always go to the bar, what would each character
be if they were a cocktail or would they be
their own drink? What would it be? Love you both
and the rest of the team for this podcast as
well as the show which is always on as I'm
snuggled in bed or falling asleep. Thanks for all that
you do.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
Anya, Ah, thank you, Anya, thank you, thank you, thank you.
She's She's in Lisbon. Love Lisbon, love Lisbon.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
Never been but I love Lisbon. I have it your fancy.
I'm always somewhere. That's why I spent a month in Portugal.
What I'm also I was also a brit in Portugal. Yes, no,
got the passport and never thinks got.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
The shoulder pats to prove.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Okay, what would the drinks be? I feel like Miller
would just be like just want like you know, like
like Nest cafe or Folgers in a cup. He just like,
just give me the just take the pot of coffee
Danny was poured in.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
You don't want even better. He'll just eat the coffee grounds.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
And the coffee beans. It's more ship. It's good, that's
for sure. I feel like a like a latte.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
Wait, are we doing every character?
Speaker 2 (03:24):
I think so if I went through the cast, I
would say a latte for Jess. Okay, what would Winston be?
Speaker 1 (03:31):
Went well? For his coffee? Yeah, you know, kind of
on on brand.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
I feel like he would be an iced coffee because
Winston always has to do something weird. He want hot
coffee cold.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
Well, well, Winston is also a cop so I do
think he likes his his his coffee hot. You know,
the Duncans, So he would have Duncans, but he would
also have a lot of sweetener in it. That's right,
nine and and and and also oat milk, right, he
would go. Winston is very much so like Lamurn is
lactose intlerant, lactose intolerant, you know, and he can't have
(04:05):
the whole milk in there. He needs his old milk,
maybe even some al loving almond milk, you know, so
I would definitely say something like that with some sweetness.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
Schmidt would be like, either like an espresso or like
a cappuccino, Well.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
He would have to have it from a specific espresso Somalier.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
This is, by the way, what it was like with Max,
because we'd all show up at work or whatever to
six in the morning, and I would just get the
coffee that was there. But Max would stop at King's
Road on Beverly and he would get his coffee from
there because he did the best coffee. And I will
never forget asking Max once. I was like, how many
(04:44):
times is too many times to microwave your coffee? And
he has like all the times. I was like, you've
never microwaved for coffee? And he gave me a look
that was so Schmidt. But it was Max where he
was just like disgusted, and I aught so hard. I
was like, they cast you so perfectly, sir.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
I look back on moments like on those days. I
wasn't much of a coffee drinker back then, but now
I'm very particular about my coffee. You know. I prefer
to make it myself. I have all the ingredients in
my in my home I have two coffee makers in
my home, depending on the level of time I have
to get out of the house. Sure, so one's a
bit more convenient. Hit a button and it does the
(05:23):
whole thing. And one I gotta like do it myself.
I get the grind, the coffee.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
Beans and put it in the things fro the milk froth.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
I frothed the froth the oat milk on the side
over here. Wow. Then I put it back in there
and I got a little little my sugar. I got
sugar free Alfred's vanilla flavor. I love Alfreds, you know,
so I pretty much make it. Uh, I pretty much
make a better version of Alfred's.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
Do you know that I used to work at Starbucks. Really,
I called myself a star bitch. This is true. Whoa
yeah who I Please don't come after me Starbucks. I
loved the aprons at Starbucks so much, and if you
were a manager, you got a black apron. And when
I had to leave that job, I was in London.
(06:08):
I was at the Holland Park station. Next to it
is Starbucks, and I was working there with a bunch
of really cool They were all actually Portuguese Brazilian women,
and it was we had all sorts of really clever
ways to deal with this job. And we we would
we'd finish, that would close the store, we'd clean up
(06:29):
the store, and next to it was like a little
kind of like off license a grocery store, and we'd
go and we'd get some drinks and then we'd sit
in the batuo and drink and like hang out and
everything and chat about our day and life and boys
and dating and whatever. Then we would clock out, and
it made us feel good because we got paid to
have a cocktail. And then on my last day when
I left, I stole a black apron.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
Oh no, a.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
Manager's apron, and I had hanging in my kitchen for
so long.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
And I'm gonna clip this. I'm going to edit this
video to make it seem like you said. No, my
last day, I stole a black going to ruin you, Hannah.
All I need is fifty million dollars.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
Well, blackmail you again. Yeah, options now in the other
I do think that CC would probably keep it like
chic and simple. I guess I just have a black coffee,
So I think you're right on there. The cocktails, I
don't I don't know. I feel like.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
Us, Yeah, you Cec and Winston would what would they be?
Because I already know what Winston would be.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
I feel like that scene where Schmid teaches Cec how
to make that Manhattan was so sweet and it would
become like her favorite drink.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
I would Winston would be, Uh, we know that he
likes fruity drinks.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
We do.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
So I'm going to take this back to one of
my first drinks that I ever had. I wasn't a
drinker growing up. I didn't I have my first drink
at twenty two, so I wasn't familiar with like what
to order when when I hung out with friends. I
hadn't been in a bar until I was around twenty two.
So I was like, I wonder what I should order,
like what I should and so I was looking at
the thing then at the counter and like I sell
(08:08):
his green bottle of liqueur and so I said, yeah,
I'll tell take whatever. I don't drink that much. What that?
What was that? And the guys like that's Mardori. I
was like, make maybe one of those drinks and he said, oh,
I could do a Marori sour. He was like, if
you don't drink, then this is probably an easy way
to get you into it. And I was like, oh yeah,
I'm doing Midori sour for about a year, that's all
(08:29):
I drank, and to the place like I would go
to bars and they'd be like, what the fuck is
the maid.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
Your signature drink? You know what that is? It's like,
why do you drink that kind of wine? I like
the label.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
Exactly but now stuck. But now here's what I Here's
what I did. I created And thank you Anya for
this question, because this is this is a world premiere.
This is Lamar is about to break something down to
you guys, and I need you guys to help set this.
Please please help make this a trend and I'll tell
you why. Sorry, it's going to be long winded. When
(09:02):
I was in Italy, everyone loves to tell you every
bar you go to, especially in Florence, how the Negroni
was created. Every bar will tell you the Negroni started
here in their particular bar. But there was this one
bar in particular, forget the name of it, but they said, hey,
the Negroni started here. And then the bartender proceeded to
(09:23):
tell me, like the story according to him. You know,
so if you're not familiar. Negroni is three equal parts
sweet vermouth, campari and gin equal parts. Right, can't mess
that up, you stirt. You start it, puts mycenar your dirt,
and it's good. He said. There was a guy named Nigroni,
I think a politician or someone who used to come
(09:44):
in there and order. Now. The drink back then was
a sweet vermouth and a canpari together. That was an
actual drink that people would get. But he needed it
to be a little bit stronger, so he added gin
and they thought that was weird, but he kept doing it.
Every time he came in. He would go, give me
the same things last time, and they would go, oh,
what the gin. Yeah. I got to the point where
people caught on and when he would come in he
(10:05):
would say, I'll have the same thing. They would go, oh,
the Nigroni because his last name was Nigroni. And that's
how the Negroni was created. That's how it was born.
I love an old Oh. I love an espresso martini,
all right, especially when late and I'm tired and I
want to stay up. I espresso martini. But I love bourbon,
so I add bourbon to the espresso martini, you know,
(10:29):
instead of the vodka or some people use tequila. You know,
a good mescal espresso martini is good too. But I
add bourbon and people don't do that often. So I
every restaurant I like recently, every time I go in,
I say, can you add bourbon to my espresso martini?
And they get so confused and has anyone ever ordered
that here? They say no? And I say, well, guess
what spread the word? This is called the morning after pill.
(10:58):
The morning after pill. So, folks, So if you're out there,
if you're underage, don't don't do this. If you're twenty
one and up, please, or if you're in a different
country where you can drink at twelve or something, feel
free to.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
Order the morning After pill, the espresso martini with a
splash of bourbon.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
No, it's instead of the well, the spirit is bourbon.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
I see. You don't just add bourbon you were replacing.
You're making a bourbon based martini with espresso. Yes, oh,
I will try that. I'll have a morning after pell.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
You gotta try it. You gotta try it. Yep. In
five hundred years, I want people to share, to share
the exact same story I just shared about Negronie and
talk about this moment and this is proof this video LMP.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
Is just gonna be on every cocktail menu.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
Now, all right, thank you, Anya, Okay, Shannon, Okay, here
we go, Hey, Hannah and La Morna a long time listener,
(12:10):
slash watcher, first time writer.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
Ooh, First, I would like to say that I just
lost my cat a few weeks ago, Man and I
stayed home from work the next few days to cope.
I put New Girl on to keep my mind off things,
and the episode I happened to be on was Ferguson's funeral.
Oh Man. As crazy as it may seem, watching that
back helped me not feel so alone and feel like
(12:32):
someone else knew what I was going through. So for that,
I thank you. Now now onto Dice. While I was watching,
I noticed when Nick is talking to Coach about diving
for rings in the pool, you can see CC trying
not to laugh in the background. Do you remember if
those lines were scripted? They alts were improv by Jake.
(12:53):
And finally, something I think about quite often, what's up
with the title sequence always changing length? In one episode?
It's the full Hey girl, what you're doing and the
next it's just a who's that girl? It's just was
the full title sequence used as filler when there wasn't
as much put in the episode. PS, I'm here for
(13:13):
the bear Hunts. I just lost all I just lost
all respect for.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
You to Shannon, and now you're just like Jannet. We
will I won't, Shannon. You know how John Laney he
dakes these callers on his Netflix show. Now, he takes
these callers and if the person just comes out the
gate wrong, he just hangs up and then he just
forgets another collar. That's what I feel like just happened
with you with Shannon. I'm not gonna answer this question.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
Shanna saved the bs for last.
Speaker 2 (13:44):
I'm all in, Shannon. I'm so sorry you lost your cat,
and I am. I think it's important. I just had
someone very dear to me lose their cat and a
and it was a surprise and it was super said
and they did the same thing. They took like a
few like mental health days to grieve, you know, like
cuts are your family and I think it's important and
a lot of people don't understand it, and so I'm
(14:06):
happy you took that time for yourself. I do know
on Dice because they put Nick and Coach together a lot,
and those two are are a bit crazy with each other,
and there is a lot of improv and things that happen,
and it is impossible not to laugh through it. So
I am going to go with the feeling that it
(14:28):
probably was an improv or a bit that they were doing,
or if it was a tight shot somebody was pinching
the other person after the camera would be ridiculous right
before to make each other laugh, which then, of course
is contagious and makes us all laugh. And what about
the theme song thing I've sometimes wondered myself.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
I know what that is. It's episode length, she had it.
It's episode lengths, right, It is depending on what we
have for that week, and we try to so when
we're editing an episode, it's the whole thing. It's title
to end credits. That's why sometimes the end credits are
sped up, you know, and you have to show them all.
And in the opening title sequence, the song can be
(15:09):
as quick as we need it to be. You know,
remember when it changed when it was just like pick
pictures of us? You know that was really quick.
Speaker 2 (15:20):
Yeah, they got rid of remember we shot a whole
different one.
Speaker 1 (15:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
I don't know if people know that we actually shot
a whole new opening sequence because Coach had joined the
show and CC wasn't in the opening credits, and it
was like, Okay, the show has gone on long enough.
These are the series regulars on the show, a lot
of them aren't here, Like, let's let's make a new
like a new opening. And it was awful. Nobody liked it, right,
(15:46):
it was like this thing, but then they just used
them pictures from that day that we did it, and
then they just use it as like a still where
they kind of just kind of made it move a
little bit and they kept the theme song.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
Yeah, yeah, I forget. Was that is that where we
shot at the pier.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
No, this was on a stage and it was like random.
It was like out of nowhere. We'd finished a day
and they're like, we're just gonna have you guys all
go over to the sound stage and it was like
this really thrown together thing. I don't remember the y
because I don't think it was told to us. We
were just doing it and it just didn't work or jive.
It wasn't as cool as like the first one. We
always did, and so they just had to adjust and adapt.
Speaker 1 (16:24):
Yeah. Yeah, yeah, because that's that's what happens, folks, That's
what happens in these things.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
Yeah, we only have a certain amount of time.
Speaker 1 (16:32):
Yeah. And also Shannon fun fact Well had choice of words.
Interesting fact. I have Ferguson's tombstone, do you Yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
You took the tombstone. Yeah, so you have like a
fake pet cemetery at your house.
Speaker 1 (16:50):
What I did in my last house is I used
to keep it in the garden. And so yeah, when
people would come over, I would go, oh, let me
show you where I were, Like all the way had
orange tree, I had pomegranate trees, lemons and citrons and
all that stuff. And I would show people and then
in the corner it had like a little raised piece
of dirt and and the other people were going, what
(17:13):
did you bury cat?
Speaker 2 (17:14):
Hear it?
Speaker 3 (17:15):
That?
Speaker 1 (17:16):
Nah?
Speaker 2 (17:18):
How can I make this weird moment weirder for you? No,
that's not my cat. And also the cat's not real.
Speaker 1 (17:24):
It's fictional, but something is in the ground.
Speaker 2 (17:28):
Let's move along, all right, our last question, his dearest Hannah,
that's where that ends. As a comma whatever. The bear
is a resplendent experience filled with laughs and show history.
I loathe that Lamorne has made you question this cherished
(17:52):
fan theory. Without it, the hunting party has been dismantled
and unmoored. For shame, Lamonne. No one wants to hunt alone.
It's probably my mom. I would request that you return
to weekly breakdowns at the end of the season. I
can't remember all the times I saw the bear. It's
like I didn't see any bears at all. And while
I appreciate an official list, I miss hunting with you regularly,
(18:17):
low mourn. Would you be willing to do a timed
bear hunt each episode? No more than three minutes, super quick.
It would ease the suffering of the hunters, and you
would have even more of our love and devotion. And
who doesn't want that? Thank you for considering my inquiry,
Yours sincerely, Miss Bridgerton of The Bear Hunt.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
Okay, you know what, you know what? Also, you know
what just disgusts me at so many levels. Okay, Miss
Bridgerton of The Bear Hunt? What year are we in?
While you're speaking like this? What year are you? And
while you're speaking to the angel in such a manner
(19:01):
and she doesn't even address well, you don't even address
me in the deer say, dear Hannah, will you please
tell them more?
Speaker 2 (19:08):
Dearest Hannah, Dearest Hannah.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
Okay, I don't like this at all, and then you
have the audacity, the audacity to then ask me to
do something. No, no, I will not be timing anything.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
Nay, I say, nay.
Speaker 1 (19:25):
To thine didn't nay, I say, I've darissed you.
Speaker 2 (19:33):
I love the I love does I mean you're a
beautiful writer? Miss Bridgerton of The Bear Hunt. I unfortunately
this is a co hosted show and I have been vetoed.
But I will say, if you go to the end
of season three, you will see I did a very
long episode where I also dreamt a dress like I
(19:53):
was hunting for the bears. And I went through every
single episode and I read every single thing. So please
continue the Bear Hunt. Keep track email it in so
you don't have to remember at the end. Just keep
emailing it. We keep track of it with you, and
then I'll see you at the end of season four
and we will do the thing that we do. And
loathe Lamar and does not have to be part of it.
Speaker 1 (20:15):
First, let me just let me just say this. It's
not that I don't want to be a part of it, Hannah.
Here's the problem was that it wasn't a thing that's
like me saying that's like me saying, hey, you know what,
we gotta do a thing where we hunt, where we
hunt every time there is a black man with an
afro that walks past in the background. I knew New
(20:35):
Girl writers put that in there. They said, we didn't
have enough black characters, so we just don't throw a
background extra with an afro in there. And then you
go ask the theory, and then you find one or
two episodes where it's a good group scene and there
happens to be a black dude with an afro, and
you go see And then every week, even in episodes
where we're just sitting in the loft, they're waiting for
my hair to grow like a fucking chia pet, and
they go, No, it's not gonna happen. You know why,
(20:56):
it's not a real thing. It's not a real thing. Okay.
Bear are common. Bears are very common in people's lives.
Bears are everywhere. They're just like pets. You can't really
go anywhere without seeing a bear. These days just happens
to be coincidence that, you know.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
So on what we've learned is that there are believers
and non believers. And as someone who dressed for church
today and could pops, I am a believer. I'm a
believer in the Bear. And the believers will stay together
and the non believers will suffer their own fate is
(21:33):
the show believers the non levels. We have some great
emails today, thank you so much. We went on all
the tangents.
Speaker 1 (21:41):
Not ten paragraphs each, which I which I thank you.
Speaker 2 (21:43):
For, I know, but somehow we spoke for ten pages
on every single question.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
Well because you know I had some thoughts, you know,
I had some thoughts.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
Some thoughts, some drink inventions. I mean, we.
Speaker 1 (21:53):
Please go out there, Please go out there. Let's get
the little Morning After pill. Let's make t shirts hand
so people can know I you know I started that if.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
You went to the Morning After Pill on the mess
around merch.
Speaker 1 (22:04):
Yeah, just a it's a it's a it's a martini glass.
It looks like an espresso espresso martini with the coffee
beans on top right and the little foam on top,
but right next to it it has the ingredients. Just
the recipe. It's the little recipe right next to it.
Speaker 2 (22:20):
But we're gonna put this up on our ig. You
guys are going to see the ingredients. We will maybe
try to get it together that Lamarne could do a
tutorial video. We'll put that up on the page. And
then what I would like is people to make it
and record themselves then trying it, and we can get
(22:40):
some live reactions going the truth. If the Morning After
pill does taste delicious exactly, that's the only way to know.
Speaker 1 (22:49):
What I'll do if I'll make a video here from
how I'll get it, I'll get a bartender to show
up and everything like a real when you go to
a bar, you have this real experience because if you
make it at home, you might you know, you might
not do it the right way, but you know, you know.
But you get a real bartender and you can see
if it works or not.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
So first thing, hire a bartender. If you'd like to
taste this.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
No, no, you can do it on your own. I
just want you to. I just want I just want
people to know how official it is.
Speaker 2 (23:13):
I see you would like the official instruction to be
shown by a professional.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
Yes, And then you go home and you and you,
But again, if you're under age, don't try it at home. No,
unless you're in one of those countries where you can
drink at twelve.
Speaker 2 (23:24):
That's right, okay. Please go to our website the mess
Around Pod to check out our latest merch. Apparently we
might have some new stuff coming your way. Follow us
on Instagram at the mess Around Pod. If you have
a question you want to leave us a voicemail, then
there's a Fido. You can do all of that at
the mess Around Pod at gmail dot com.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
We love you by bees.
Speaker 2 (23:46):
That was the mess Around in iHeartMedia Production.
Speaker 1 (23:49):

Our theme song was written and composed by Ronald Jukebox Jackson.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
Catch Next Time Bye, mhm
Speaker 2 (24:13):
Hm
