Speaker 3 (00:47):
Abrams, He's catching all that Brookie slack now as bad
as blazing. He wanted to bring the city back. That's
how we deal with. When CJ. Brock is fitted captain
and that's a prep in DC, it's time to bring
the sea. He back sixty three, long and lanky with
a blister. The Bend of Bros. Got the nets Mynn
the Elite system back to one solo trade. Mike Grizio
(01:09):
wants to fade you not out far in the GM
will been nice for days. That's the letter ball in
the hole. Yet he getting that spinning on his back.
Make the throw yo, he ro offer at another Georgia boy
employed to record destroy the MLB bro scene. So high lads,
your boy average creeping up Homer's double digits. The nets
(01:31):
are in the cut with the tunnel vision and as
the team grows, so will Abrams game. This ain't that
team flow. Aprams already in the game, and you see
the progression as he's rising from fame. He's learning to
win walk offs, homers and missiles. This ain't the next
and Abrams, YOI don't double dripple.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
He hits doubles and triples. The affected ripple number five
is initial.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
Just CJ Aprim he's catching off that rookie slack that
was baddest.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
He said he wants to bring the city.
Speaker 3 (02:02):

You can also catch my column Diamond Cuts every Monday
on mlbbroad dot com.
Speaker 5 (03:09):
At the peak of his game, second baseman Tony Womack
was a versatile offensive weapon for nearly a decade with
the Pittsburgh Pirates and Arizona Diamondbacks.
Speaker 6 (03:17):
He was an All Stars a rookie for the Buckos
and led the National League with.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
Sixty stolen bases.
Speaker 6 (03:22):
He would win the NL Stolen Base Crown three straight
seasons from nineteen ninety seven through nineteen ninety nine. Since integration,
only eight players have done that, a list that includes
Willie Mays, Lou Brock, Vince Coleman, Moran Wills, and Tim Rains,
just some of the all time greats. Prior to that
nineteen ninety nine season, though Womack was traded for Pittsburgh
to Arizona, played second base, left field, and shortstop for
(03:44):
the Dbacks as they climbed up from expansion franchise.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
To championship contender.
Speaker 6 (03:48):
The biggest moment of his career came in two thousand
and one. He made Arizona's only World Series Championship a
possibility by hitting a game time double off the great
Mariano Rivera, and then made it a reality. I score
the game winning run on the waist Consalees' single. Tony
Womack also still holds the Diamondbacks stolen based records for
a single season and a career. But there's one other
(04:08):
record that he has that might be the most remarkable.
Speaker 5 (04:11):
While he was still with the Pirates in nineteen ninety eight,
Womack established a new Major League Baseball record for the
most consecutive advanced without hitting into a double play at
eight hundred and eighty eight.
Speaker 6 (04:21):
The previous standard had been said all the way back
in nineteen forty six by Dodgers outfielder Pete Riser.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
Tony Womack was a solid.
Speaker 6 (04:28):
Day leaguer for a long time and still ranks in
the top of one hundred all time.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
In stolen bases. It's also got a Gold Glove to
his name.
Speaker 6 (04:34):
So shout out to one of the underrated players of
his era, Tony Womack.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
I'm David Grubb. This has been classic, kids.
Speaker 4 (04:41):
Now back to the mixing.
Speaker 7 (04:47):
Deep og markre you knew this how famous career was
going to be lit when he was traded and upon
getting to the ballpark for his first game, this stadium
was on fire boy the mlbog Mark Gray and I'm
going Deep for the mixtape. Hall of Famer Fred McGriff
(05:07):
had a tremendous one where you consider what he did
for both the Toronto Blue Jays and the Atlanta Braves.
It was an unbelievable start to a career that landed
him in Cooperstown. But what he did do when he
came to the Braves made an interest like no other. Literally. Now,
(05:31):
we gotta go back almost thirty years to July twentieth,
nineteen ninety three, where McGriff's first game was really one
of the most crazy regular season games in the team's history.
The press box caught on fire before the game and
it was a long delay and it ultimately cost about
(05:52):
one point five million dollars to fix the press box
at the old Atlanta Fullam County Stadium. We talked fucking
Chicago fire type fire, y'all, but they still played the
game and guess what when Griff ended up hitting a
home run that was a decisive blow in said game.
(06:15):
So the moral to the story is even without freak
Nick Atlanta was always hot and when Fred but Griff
came along on that one night in July nineteen ninety three,
he gave them Braves a spark that took them all
the way to the playoffs. Saboy the mlbog Mark Ray
(06:36):
and I'm going deep for the mix tape.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
It's the Black Agepole, the Black Ageapole, It's the Black Ageapole,
the Black Age Report.
Speaker 8 (06:54):
What's up, everybody? This is Juster Pertuley with the Black
a Support on the MLB Bro Show podcast mixtape. Here's
where you get the latest on the melanate of Mault
Marauders or showing me with precision and popping out all
across the big leagues.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
So let's start the record.
Speaker 8 (07:07):
As the MLB trade deadline approaches, the Stroke Show may
be on the move. Marca Strowman has been one of
the best pitchers in all of MLB this season, becoming
an All Star for the second time in his career
as he's ten and seven with a three point ZHO
nine ERA. He pitches on July twenty six against the
crosstown rival in the Chicago White Sox, and with all
the trade rumors going around, This could potentially be his
last start in a Cubs uniform. After a shaky start
(07:30):
to the second half of the season, Josiah Gray bounced
back and was dealing on July twenty second against the Giants.
He won seven innings, giving up four hits, one run,
and four start downs. He now has a three point
four to five ERA and his seven to eight on
the year. Taiwan Walker pitched twice over the last week,
and his seven game win streak finally came to a close.
He picked up his first loss in over six weeks
(07:51):
on July twentieth and a no decision on July twenty fifth,
but the Philly still got the win. Walker still tied
for the MLB lead and wins with eleven and has
an ERA of four point oh six. After being released
by the Royals on July fifteenth, Amir Garrett got picked
up by the Guardians and designed a minor league contract.
He has a three point three to three ERA this season,
but it's given up twenty walks to only twenty eight strikeouts.
(08:14):
He'll try to earn his way back up to the
majors and possibly have the Guardians try and win the
AO Centrum. That's a black Age support for this week.
This is JP the rook Now back to the mix.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
It's the Gambler here, vice president of operations for mlbbro
dot Com an executive producer of the MLB Bro Show
podcast The Mixtape. Every Friday, you heard that right. Every Friday,

and contributions to culture that the Bros continue to breathe
into baseball.
Speaker 2 (09:07):

Speaker 3 (09:09):
Bess, Doctor k to Doctor Sticks, from Bro Bombs to
stolen bases to Black Aces. We're live at the ballparks
and also bringing you segments like Classic Hits with David Grubb,
the Black Ace Report, the Rundown, the Walk Off, and
Going Deep, just to name a few of the segments
(09:30):
that truly capture the voice of black baseball.
Speaker 4 (09:33):
If things get.
Speaker 3 (09:34):
Out of hand, as the Boss Rob Parker, he's kicking
up dusk, we will gladly pay you on Tuesday from
an MLB BRO doubleheader today. Remember the heart of the
game lies in the diversity of the game, if the
spirit of Black baseball that dates.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
Back to the Negro leagues.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
I'm the Gambler, your friendly neighborhood diamond checker, making sure
that you stay on top of the game and in
touch with the soul of MLB. Fucked up for a
wild baseball journey, showing respect to the Ogs and highlighting
the new breed of melanated mount Marauders. First being through
MLB's pipelines. All pitching with the sound of Black Baseball.
(10:14):
MLB BRO Show podcast the Mixtape coming to your speaker
every Friday. We got the best starting five in the business,
War wings Ovious, the A.
Speaker 9 (10:32):
Plus Baseball is a game of stats. I'm Sebastiantball and
I'm the numbers Man. Cincinnati has emerged as one of
the most electric cities for baseball in twenty twenty three,
with the resume hating a significant push for playoff baseball,
and Will Benson has been at the forefront of this.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
Time of contention in Cincinnati.
Speaker 9 (10:57):
Will Benson was drafted in twenty sixteen by the leveland Guardians,
making his MLB debut for them in twenty twenty two,
before making the switch to their Ohio neighbors ahead of
the twenty twenty three season. Bedson started the season in
the majors before a st in Triple A, and since
returning to the major league club, he has been on fire.
His one hundred and forty four raiter runs Creative Plus,
(11:19):
along with his zero point three base running runs above
average as of July twenty sixth, combined for a Fancrafts
War total of one point zero in just one hundred
and sixty seven plate appearances. His one hundred and forty
four weighted runs creative Plus ranks nineteenth among players with
over one hundred and fifty plate appearances and leads all
(11:39):
Cincinnati Reds hitters. With the Reds locked into a tight
division and wild card race, Will Bedson could be the
X factor for Cincinnati's trip to the postseason.
Speaker 4 (11:51):
No man, what's up, everybody?
Speaker 10 (11:58):
This is young crit and this is my weekly countdown
of the biggest plays made by MLB bros over the
past seven days.
Speaker 4 (12:05):
This week, coming in at.
Speaker 10 (12:07):
Number five, we have White Socks shortstop Tim Anderson hurt
himself a good day on Tuesday, collecting three hits with
the double and an RBI. He's starting to pick it
up a bit and could possibly be a trade target
for a continuing team in the second half of the season.
Speaker 4 (12:20):
Clift Side sent for Anderson.
Speaker 6 (12:23):
Here comes Bett and Sandy bro to the play nine
that you're gonna get to air the socks, so take.
Speaker 4 (12:29):
It, thank you very much.
Speaker 10 (12:30):
Up next to number four we have Yankee DH jan
Carlos Staton will see he will finally be waking up
from his slump.
Speaker 7 (12:36):
Last week.
Speaker 10 (12:37):
He had five hits with two home runs and four RBI.
The Yankees need them to step up down the stretch
in order to keep pace in the competitive Al East
while they wait for the return of Aaron Judge. Sitting
in the three spot, we've got twins DH Fire and Buckston,
who broke out of a mean slump by hitting two
home runs and collecting four RBI in a nine to
four win over the White Sox on Friday of the games.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
But left shuttle ball back.
Speaker 10 (13:06):
And a number two this week if guardian DH Josh Bell,
who had a five straight games during that stretch. He
collected eight hits with the double two on runs of
five RBI last.
Speaker 6 (13:18):
Off Hiabi air ps Whatsfield Jones back, He's out a
room as on air Josh Bell.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
That is over for the second game in the room.
Speaker 10 (13:28):
Finally, number one on Chris Countdown, we a Rangers second
base and Marcus Simon who had a two hundred career
home run on Saturday against the Dodgers. They gave him
number fourteen on the year and he throwing to finish
the season strong while making another push for MLB Brow
of the Year. That's it until next week. I'm Young
krit and this has been Chrits count Down on the
MLB Bro Show podcast mixtape.
Speaker 4 (13:50):
Now back to the mix.
Speaker 11 (13:58):
Divin instead of city in Detroit, I see players on
his contract year with Detroit Tigers. Kid has expired one
year contract has made some noise within the team during
his first three seasons in the MLB. He has the
tolling career numbers of one hundred and nine runs, one
eighty five hits, eighty three RBI in the two thirty
seven bat and everage. While baling the right quiet injury
this season, He's still projected and put up his best
(14:18):
numbers throughout his career. It would suck to see a
change of scenery for Bado, but for now, Bado loves
being the team guy, embrace his role with the team
and found ways to really contribute. Definitely a guy that
Tigers should lock up long term and continue to.
Speaker 4 (14:30):
Build around the guys that are in the building.
Speaker 11 (14:32):
Mlbbro dot com is covering everything black and brown and
baseball as we'll be serving it up all season long
right here on MLB bros Podcast Mixed.
Speaker 4 (14:41):
I'm Devad Cook, Stay Hungry.
Speaker 3 (14:47):
The Seven Deadly Venoms, w Pros, MNB Bros Coming to
Los Angeles, New York, and Hens.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
Four starters will be in the four to give him
love to the baseball thugs. The four Founders will up
the world rules.
Speaker 4 (15:00):
Number one move.
Speaker 3 (15:01):
Swatters the big Swipers Dominique nineties. Every Judge, Julie, he
hit another one. He hit another one. Judge, he hit
another one. It's so pricking, freaky fine, so fond of me.
Speaker 2 (15:16):
Number but ninety nine.
Speaker 3 (15:18):
Had another one.
Speaker 2 (15:19):
He hit another one. The boom in the Blast Show.
Speaker 4 (15:21):
Judge just hid another one. It could be so.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
Fond to be live to beating up for ninety nine.
Here's another one.
Speaker 3 (15:29):
Poor Roswell's sandy because the plane has landed being striped
wild being. Then it's it's been the pictures like a
sam that's just number ninety nine, one short of one hundred,
infinite in the fan's mind. Robomat to the bleachers, beat
stuffed the east of hit another one. He hit another one.
(15:53):
Judge just hit another one. It's so pricking, freaky fine,
so fond of me, nothing but ninety nine. Hit another one.
He hit another one that put me in the blast
your judgment. That hid another one.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
It could be so fone to be live. It'll be
number ninety nine. Here's another one.
Speaker 5 (16:11):
There's another one.
Speaker 4 (16:12):
There's another one. There's another one.
Speaker 2 (16:14):
Judge said another one. It's a freaking freaking finds that
the fine, so fine be another kind of god.
Speaker 4 (16:22):
There's another one.
Speaker 2 (16:23):
Hit another one, hit another one, Chu said another one.
The blast to hit another one, so fine to be live, number.
Speaker 5 (16:31):
Ninety nine, and the one.
Speaker 12 (16:53):
Field glass.
Speaker 10 (17:00):
There's this wall brunoin it.
Speaker 7 (17:06):
Man.
Speaker 11 (17:08):
Judge Aaron Judge Narner turned to line up found this
torn ligaman in his right big toe. He had seen
some action to simulate the games at the Yankees Tample facility.
It's the first time since Joe fourth Judge playing in
(17:28):
scripted games Tuesday and Wednesday, which are designed to get
him a lot of hits. Haven't played defensive running the
basis there's no timetable on judge return, but he knows
he won't be one hundred percent. Just trying to get
the toe to be as manageable as possible. Aaron Judge
is very crucial to the Yankees team. Before being injured,
he was top five at home runs and going into
the season as one of the highest paid players.
Speaker 4 (17:47):
The Yankees are twenty three and twenty nine.
Speaker 11 (17:49):
Without judging the dugouts, the team is sitting at a
fifty three and forty eight record, two and a half
games out of the AL wild card spot. It's the
point of season when wins the losses really start to count.
If the Yankees for see them sales competing for a
World Series, they do need to start Aaron Judge back. Hopefully,
when he's inserted back into the lineup, the Yankees are
one of the teams that catches fire at the right
time to boost themselves into a serious threat.
Speaker 4 (18:10):
Down the line.
Speaker 11 (18:11):
Don't rush because you don't want to aggravate the injury,
but understand what's Judge is back in the lineup. It
won't be a stretch to believe that the Yankees are
a tough team to not deem as a world series contended.
As mlbbro dot Com is covering everything black and brown
and baseball as we'll be serving it up all season
long right here on MLB Bros Podcast, I'm devon, cooked,
stay hungry.
Speaker 3 (18:38):
I'm pushing back against anybody who doesn't think Marcus Simion's
two hundredth career home run is a big deal. He
joins a very exclusive class of Bros bombing so with
a big deal the pushback. Texas Rangers all star second
baseman Marcus Simeon stroked his two hundredth career home runs
(19:00):
shot to left field on July twenty second, twenty twenty three,
against the Dodgers. Simeon, also the single season record holder
for remote home runs in a season by a second baseman,
with forty five set in twenty twenty one, joined a
very exclusive list of just three other MLB bro second
basemen who have reached the two hundred bro bomb milestone.
(19:23):
Cincinnati Reds Machine Hall of Famer Joe Morgan leaves the
pack with two hundred and sixty eight homers. Sweet Lou
Whittaker hit two hundred and forty four bombs for the
Detroit Tigers. Another red star at second base was Brandon
that dude Phillips who hit two hundred and eleven homers
in his career. Now Marcus Simeon, the kid from California,
(19:45):
joins this elite group, and as he continues to produce
huge numbers, we have to start mentioning Simeon among the
greatest second basement of all time. His dad, Damien Simeon,
spoke to mlbbro dot com about the accomplishment.
Speaker 13 (20:01):
My reaction to Marcus's two hundredth career home run is happiness.
Definitely shared some tears of joy. I got my chest
poked out so far it takes about five people to
push it back in.
Speaker 4 (20:16):
Just very very very.
Speaker 13 (20:18):
Proud of my son, even more excited about what he
hasn't accomplished yet because I know he's going to get there.
Speaker 4 (20:25):
Marx is the.
Speaker 13 (20:26):
Type of person, Okay, I accomplished this, let me see
what's next within the framework of my team winning. He's
more than been pleased with hisself with what he accomplished,
but he is not finished at all. He feels he
has a lot more to accomplish in his career. He
just wants to be a part of a winning organization,
(20:46):
a winning team, and he wants that to be a
part of his legacy. So again, I'm very proud of
my son and just as his model, just like my model.
Speaker 4 (20:57):
Is keep grinding. We not finish yet.
Speaker 3 (21:07):
Make sure you check out Malik Right and Dante Miles
with the High End Outside podcast on mlbbro dot com.
This week, the two bros speak to brother broadcaster Dave
Simms about the two perfect games that he's called in
his illustrious career.
Speaker 2 (21:23):
I guess it's the two part question. You've called two
perfect games in your career.
Speaker 12 (21:28):
Philip Humber and then before Domingo Herman, the last one
we saw major League Baseball, Felix and Nandez, let's talk
about Humber's perfect game against the Seattle Mariners.
Speaker 14 (21:41):
Yeah, that was a regional game on Fox, and I
think the Red Sox and the Yankees were playing, So
we were going into those those two cities and what
was it.
Speaker 4 (21:53):
We were in Chicago and we were on in Seattle.
Speaker 14 (21:55):
And then when it got down to that, I think
the first or second out than anyone full Nationals that
they gave him was over and that was that was
a huge throw. I'd never experienced anything like that. We'd
had a bunch of no hitter no it did leading
up to that here in Seattle with some of our guys,
and that was a special obviously the perfect team. And
(22:19):
then when Phillis did it in August, after Humber did
it at April, it was our guy. I worked the
weather here in Seattle. Not a big perhaps twenty thousand,
but have felt like one hundred and twenty thousand, and
Phillis was at the top of his team at that
point and so it was only amount of time before
he got close to doing something like that, and he
did and it was fantastic and to that point that was.
Speaker 4 (22:42):
That was my number one broadcast highlight.
Speaker 14 (22:44):
Told Camalalla get home on my year again.
Speaker 4 (22:46):
Stip in the players, the.
Speaker 3 (23:08):
Bros's back, the Pocks back you sophisticated Southern's gotch a
heart attack and Ray Juggies boy whacking Moodies back in action.
See him start this old self on that thirty thirty
flag ship. Never lack in the Bros. Back the Bros's back,
boy in the short stadiums like we burned the boy
winning baseball. Grammy keen and turned the boys. But we're
beating the boss without to burn the boy.
Speaker 4 (23:28):
That's a hunsident.
Speaker 3 (23:29):
You know you're gonna burn your boy for since your
mother's out here playing like Barry Bond seeing him, vins
Coleman was off to the racist like Golden rud Shreeber.
They try to blows with the bros. And now they
d o Wade and the streets San Joe k They
called me will he made no for the way we
blow that hay go for the way we work that
cave never called got a boss.
Speaker 2 (23:49):
So let them play my fourth pitch. Also, who pay
no way on left seas.
Speaker 3 (23:53):
My cousin is rising me in, don't stress me in
the side of here, rise your fins.
Speaker 4 (23:56):
I'm twitching. I'm looking at a picture.
Speaker 3 (23:59):
I'm nice with the Steals like that old fox with
just Lita my hands shoulders listeners too. The brozer back

Speaker 16 (24:51):
MLB Bro, Aaron Judge is expected to come off the
I L and we joined the Yankees to take on
the Ools this week again.
Speaker 2 (25:00):
And it is great news.
Speaker 16 (25:02):
Count me in the camp that thinks that Aaron Judge
will be the difference and help the Yankees into yet
another postseason appearance. Coming into Thursday. The Yankees with more
and a half games out of the wild card definitely
not insurmountable with as much time as left on the
(25:23):
major league season. Here we are in mid July, late July.
So and Judges that kind of guy. This team is
not good when he's not in the lineup. And it's
a miracle that they were able to hang in there
from the standpoint that they didn't get buried, they didn't
fall totally out of the race. Judge missed, you know
a lot of time with that bad toe after banging
(25:47):
it in La into defence.
Speaker 15 (25:49):
There.
Speaker 16 (25:50):
I believe in Aaron Judge. They won ninety nine games
a year ago with Judging, the lineup playing every day.
Speaker 2 (25:56):
You add him back to the.
Speaker 4 (25:57):
Mix and the Yankees will start to win.
Speaker 2 (26:00):
Like they should.
Speaker 16 (26:01):
And trust me, Aaron Judge saved the day for the
Yankees with the Cape and shuffled them into the postseason
as expected. I'm Rob and that's my branch.
Speaker 3 (26:22):
Listen to the.
Speaker 4 (26:23):

(26:46):

Speaker 2 (26:48):
