Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
with on our radio.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Welcome back to the Almost Famous Podcast. We have a
lot to go over today. It's been here. Ashley's with
me and we are breaking down all the latest headlines
happening in Bachelor Nation, including headlines do that has to
deal do associate itself with Ashley because she had a
big weekend ahead of her? Ashley, Yeah, what's up?
Speaker 3 (00:26):
Oh what's my headline for you?
Speaker 2 (00:28):
I don't know, do you have headlines or should we
just jump in? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (00:31):
I got a headline that's not on our list.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (00:34):
So I was scrolling on my Instagram and I saw
your wonderful performance of I Am Ben, which was a
spoof off I Am Ken?
Speaker 3 (00:44):
Is that what it is that I am Ken? I'm
just I'm just Ken, I'm just Katon, right.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (00:49):
So the weird thing about that video, which I thought
was brilliant and absolutely hilarious, there is no context to it. No,
you guys put no overlay, no caption. I knowing you
and seeing who is collaborating who collaborating with you on
the real like, I knew what it was for, but
(01:09):
I don't know why it was created. Tell everybody, why
you did this incredible Broadway rendition of I'm Just Ben.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
Yeah, it was. It's hilarious. So I hosted a conference
for four days called mom Con. Mom Con is one
of the most cheerful conferences or events I guess I
get to do all year. It is all moms, thirty
five hundred moms. We were in Orlando, Florida. It's put
(01:39):
on by an organization called mom Co formerly MOPS. It's
a faith based organization. It's a Christian organization that really
gives support community groups to moms of kids. It's great,
it's and it's in so many churches. If you're listening
and you are part of a church, you probably know
of MOPS now mom Co. So I've gotten to host
(02:02):
this since twenty nineteen. I'm like one of maybe eight
dudes in the room and this year. Every year they
kind of have me there to be a spoof, like
there's you know, maybe back in the day I could
pull the bachelor card and that was cool enough, but
now you know, I'm kind of like a mascot. I
think like it's like it's gonna come and do something
(02:22):
so weird. It's so ridiculous and I'm gonna say yes
to it because One, it's fun for me to be
there too. It's fun to make these ladies like laugh. Three,
I think like something's wrong with me where I get
embarrassed over things I say in like one on one conversations,
(02:45):
or I get embarrassed on ways I treat people. I
don't really get embarrassed by like things I do publicly.
It's just not like I don't like feel a lot
of like, oh my gosh, I cannot believe you got
on stage and did that. Like I just don't feel that.
I think I'm desensitive ties to it maybe. And so
they momco wrote a song called I'm Just Ben. It
(03:06):
is hilarious though. It is so fun, and we worked
on it. We recorded in practice and did all this
stuff for six months trying to.
Speaker 4 (03:14):
Get this nailed down that oh my gosh.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
Yeah, we had the Orlando Magic dancers behind me. Uh,
there's a whole performance done, and so I saw I
sang I'm just Ben. I'm going to try to capture
and find the whole video from like start to finish
up the act because it did take off more than
I thought it would.
Speaker 4 (03:37):
Really, that seems like the ultimate like viral video.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
Yeah it, I mean it should. I really want to
find the whole video because it did. Afterwards when they
shared it and I saw the responses, it was it
was awesome.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
You guys had like a good overlay and caption too.
It could have gotten further. The fact that you guys
just plopped it down was like, wait.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
Yeah, I guess I didn't even think about it being
something that people would be intrigued by.
Speaker 4 (04:05):
It was created for the internet, like that's what that
video was created for. Also, did you lip sync to
the track I sing?
Speaker 2 (04:16):
I sing it?
Speaker 3 (04:17):
You sang totally live.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
Well I had to lip sing some of it, like
when dance Moves got picked up.
Speaker 4 (04:22):
But yes, okay, so you sang with a track, yeah,
I sing with the track. Okay, Well you sounded good.
Well that is me singing it, I know, yeah, I know,
Like I knew it was you singing, but I just
wasn't sure if you like they messed with it in
the studio and made you sound a little bit better
because I know what your singing voice sounds like when
we go to concerts and you like, oh it's so bad. Yeah,
it's not the greatest, and like you sounded good.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
Yeah, it's hilarious too that you say that, because we
went into a studio to kind of lay down the
track and it was one of the most Like I
was sweating, I was trying so hard, like I was
nerve racking. I'm just not a good singer. I know
that I'm not trying to be one. But and I
really think in my mind, I was like, it's okay
if I'm not a good singer for I'm just been
(05:07):
but I want it to be decent enough where people
could actually like listen and be like, oh all right.
Speaker 4 (05:12):
It's like it's like a spoof. It's like a parody,
but it's well done.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
One. Yes, yeah, yes, it's a well done one is
what I wanted. I mean, I'll tell you one thing,
there's very few things in the world that feel better
than having thirty five hundred people just like going wild
or something you did. It's fun. I'm exhausted. It's four
days of hosting this thing. It was great. I'm just
(05:41):
so tired. Ben.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
I want to go next year.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
You can come by.
Speaker 3 (05:45):
I don't know if you could top that.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
Oh we can find a way.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
That was so glover.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
Yeah, and the lyrics are good. Did I send you
the whole song yet? No, I'm gonna send you the
whole song so you can at least listen to the
whole song. You're gonna love the lyrics. I think you're
going to really find a lot of like really good
bacheloration puns and like inn windows and things a part
that are part of it. It was, it was a blast,
(06:12):
And the best part is actually, you know, this conference
is full of bacheloration fans, full of them. Yeah, but
there's also many people that have never watched The Bachelors
really have no idea who I am, and and only
know me from being a host at mom Con over
the years, and so some people are coming up being like,
(06:32):
I don't know what just happened. I don't really get it,
but like, yeah, it was fun, and I'm like, all right.
Speaker 4 (06:40):
The fact that you've been working on this for six
months and never said that you were going to do
like a boy band meets Broadway performance somewhere is like
a little strange, but I'm really grateful it happened.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
Yeah, we Yeah, it's honestly, I think I just didn't
think about it much, but it's been stuck in my
head for a long time.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
Yeah, it was really really good. All right, So moving.
Speaker 4 (07:05):
On to just the absolute opposite of the tone that
we're at right now.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, we're gonna kind of switch gears. Well,
maybe maybe a good segue would be Okay, let's do
a segue. You did spend the weekend uh with the
Almost Famous podcast in San Francisco at the Jonas Brothers concert.
From a fans perspective outside looking in, it looked like
(07:31):
the group of women and you just do this well,
you like when when you do women events, for with
the Almost Famous Podcast, it feels like everybody has a
really good time. Did you feel like everybody there had
actually like a really good time?
Speaker 4 (07:46):
Yes, Yes, it was so much fun. It was just
like a great chemistry amongst the group. We had Kathy
Susan and that was the first time I spent like
quality time with them.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
They're so hilarious.
Speaker 4 (08:02):
And then we had Daisy and Susie and Mari and
I made sure that Mari was there because I know
she's like on my level of Jonas fandom, Like she
and I like truly like we do the same things,
like she travels for Jonas Okay, And I was like Okay,
you travel for Jonas She had said something like after
her Chicago show, she said, I'm just already figuring out
(08:27):
how to see them next. And this was like her
story the day afterward, and I texted her immediately. I
was like, Okay, so you come to San Francisco to
be with us.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
So it was so great.
Speaker 4 (08:38):
And then my friend Courtney, who's really good friends and
as the agent for Susie, was there too, and we
just had like the greatest girls like two days and it.
Speaker 5 (08:49):
Was, Yeah, it was.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
It was wonderful.
Speaker 4 (08:51):
And I'm really really glad, and I'm really thankful for
our producer Amy for putting it together because it was
it was a good memory.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
It looked so much fun, and I'm glad that you
had that kind of fun and you have some great
content coming out of it that we'll be sharing.
Speaker 3 (09:16):

Marina in Redondo Beach.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
Visit Hotel Portafino dot com to book or call eight
zero zero four six eight forty two ninety two. You guys,
I have content that I'm debating, a debating whether I
put out to the public. Okay, so basically what I
did was show Kathy and Susan thirst traps of Joe Jonas,
(10:07):
Like if you guys know what like Jonas TikTok looks
like these days. I showed them this and I had
them comment live on how they felt about him.
Speaker 3 (10:21):
In their bodies.
Speaker 4 (10:23):
And these women were so honest, and I was like,
I this is a rated R Instagram reel. If I
put it together and like Jonas will either think it's
absolutely hilarious or they will be flipped out.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
Well they don't, they're not like into seventy year.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
Old No, not that they'll be like Ashley, did you
really have to over sexualize a video and put it
out there? You know?
Speaker 2 (10:45):
Oh, that's exactly why they're posting it though.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
Well, I would post it, I just have to go
and edit it.
Speaker 4 (10:51):
And I'm just like, uh, you know you're saying that, like,
that's why Jonas is being That's why Joe's being so sexy. Yes, yeah,
because he's like I, I love being viral and TikTok
every day of my life.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
Yeah, it feels so good. Gives them something wake up for.
There's a weird turn going on right now, Ashley. That
is dangerous, and I think this is something for any
listener to stay alerted to, because I think we're seeing
the start of something that will probably be a thing
(11:27):
for a while with AI and the ability to create
imagery and videos, and for us to have a hard
time telling what's real and what's not, it is unfortunate.
I hate every second of and I know you do
as well, Ashley. But this weekend I saw the article
first and flipped, oh you did, yes, And then it
(11:49):
started to immediately within seconds kind of start to investigate
and find out that it was not real, and so
it was, you know, kind of fine, But then I
just got frustrated and I am fretted still, and I know,
but this isn't about me. What am I talking about?
Katie Thurston cries over fake death rumors amid breast cancer battle.
(12:09):
She said it's triggering. So there's articles and things getting
posted out there right now about a couple different things,
like the mesniks are pregnant, they're not. Katie Thurston has
passed away. She hasn't. We've had Katie on to talk
about her breast cancer battle. But she saw this and
also was receiving texts and phone calls from people about
(12:32):
this headline. Ashley, what do we know? But I think
at the start here this is terrible and I hope
we figure out a way to stop this stuff from happening.
It's here's my problems. People are doing it to get
the clicks and they're getting Yes.
Speaker 3 (12:49):
Well, it's like.
Speaker 4 (12:50):
I know that you and I appreciate the tabloids, you know,
like us Weekly and I don't know that's weekly. It's
like tabloid, but like people magazine, e News, Like we
appreciate them for posting our stories when we talk about
them here on the podcast, you know, So I don't
want to like shut on them. But a lot of
the times on Instagram story especially, they like make so
(13:11):
many death stories.
Speaker 3 (13:13):
Yes, about clickbait.
Speaker 4 (13:15):
And it's unreal, and you know that the way they
were them is so that you have to go and
click the article to find out more, and it's just like, oh,
it's so yucky. And this was one of them, one
of the top. But no, no, no, But I let
me make clear, this was not something that any of
the magazines, no press ran with this. This was something
that was on Facebook. So Katie saw that there was
(13:39):
a Facebook post circulating that she had passed away, and
she got on Instagram and she was like, if anyone
works at Facebook or has any suggestion on what I
can do, there's just people circulating a fake obituary out there,
and she just, you know, she said, please report these people.
Speaker 3 (14:01):
Day suck.
Speaker 4 (14:01):
This is so triggering. And Katie ended up making like
a She did have a sense of humor about it.
The next day, she posted herself as an angel on
her Instagram saying.
Speaker 3 (14:13):
Like, Hi, it's Katie me from the other side.
Speaker 4 (14:16):
But that was after she got on Instagram, just really
crying on screen, just being like this is so so upsetting.
Speaker 3 (14:24):
I'm getting dms from people and they're well.
Speaker 4 (14:28):
She took a few days off social media because she
just said she needed it and because she took the break.
That's why people started dming her and stuff like are
you okay? I'm worried about your silence? And then I
guess that turned into this post on Facebook and it
was just like a just a crazy, hectic moment for
her and obviously like just the most upsetting thing you
(14:51):
could ever see about yourself.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
Yeah, it's just and you know, I think there is
a level where personally it's added to it because of
what she's battling, and probably it is triggering fears that
she's probably had to process and think about it exactly
as she's battling. It's disgusting, but we're playing into it
(15:16):
here at Almost Famous podcast, we're talking about these articles.
I think this will be probably and hopefully the first
and only time we bring any attention to this. But
we wanted to bring attention to it because Katie was
so affected by it that I think it's good for
us to share. But don't click on this stuff. But
then again, how are you supposed to know when it's real?
And well? Switching gears to other news, Peter Krause is
(15:43):
expecting first child with fiance Hannah.
Speaker 4 (15:49):
I know this is so exciting We're so happy for them.
Congratulations guys, they wrote on a post new Chapter Best Chapter.
One week after our engagement, you got the surprise of
our lives. And I said, God's plans are perfect and
our heart is full of gratitude. Angel Baby coming this March.
God is so so so good hashtag fourteen weeks. So yeah,
(16:13):
it's so amazing that they found out they're pregnant right
after the engagement. It's like meant to be timing wise,
it says Angel Baby. I'm I'm not going to read
into that. That's their own business, but we're really happy
for them.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
Yeah, we're so I mean, you know, when we had
him on the show, there was zero doubt that he
was madly in love.
Speaker 4 (16:34):
Right, and he was going to propose, he said, like
by the end of the year, and now they're having
a kid by basically the end of the year.
Speaker 2 (16:42):
Congratulations to the two of them. Now, interesting headline. I
was noticing this. I just happened to also be able
to get answers to some of these questions, maybe in
a different way than listeners can, but I was wondering
why we haven't seen the Golden Bachelorettes Chalk and Jones
seen together in any social media or public appearances. And
(17:04):
Joan has been out there or Chalk has been out
there at a few events, and we just don't see
Joan by his side. The quote is they haven't seen
each other for nearly a month.
Speaker 4 (17:16):
Why It's pretty easy to explain, he said to E
News Right now, I can't go into any details. Hint, hint,
but she's doing a special project and we haven't seen
each other for almost a month. Something's probably going to
change pretty soon, so we'll see each other. But we
do miss each other right now.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
I wonder if there's a Bachelor Nation type show being
filmed that she could be a part of.
Speaker 3 (17:40):
Yeah, it could be like maybe on HDTV or something.
Speaker 2 (17:43):
It would be interesting if maybe she was a part
of that.
Speaker 3 (17:46):
I don't really.
Speaker 4 (17:46):
Want to spoil who we know is filming that HGTV show.
Speaker 3 (17:51):
But they got a really good cast.
Speaker 2 (17:53):
They did get a really good cast. Yeah, I think
they have. They have a cast of incredible people. I
think they want the show to be a success, and
I'm I'm happy for him. HGTV needs to pick me up.
I like HGTV. I want it to exist. I just
don't also understand how somebody can be gone for a
month doing this show, but that's you know what. I'm
(18:16):
happy for him.
Speaker 4 (18:19):
Then, if they could have a second season, I don't
know what they would recreate, but hopefully you'd be part
of it.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
M hmm, if you'd want to be, if i'd want
to be, right, I want to be. We had of
an interview a few weeks ago with Alex and Andrew
from Paradise. They're a cute couple. Bachelor Nation fell in
love with them. They get along great, and they get
each other's sense as of humor, and I really like
to follow them together. Well, this week we saw an
(18:48):
Instagram post where Alex gets a tattoo. She says of
boyfriend and Andrew Spencer's birthday, which.
Speaker 6 (18:59):
Would be a big yeah, they're not They're not there yet,
or she might mentally be or in her heart, but
she's not like gonna do that to him yet.
Speaker 3 (19:09):
They have only known each other since May.
Speaker 4 (19:13):
So she said, we're gonna go get a tattoo together,
but we can't just make it a normal session. I'm
going to prank him, and the tattoo artist is in
on it. I'm gonna pretend that I'm going to get
his birthday tattooed on me, and we're gonna see his reaction, Alex. Then,
you know, she shows him and then she reveals to
Andrew that like it's just a practice joking, and then
(19:36):
apparently he had like a huge sigh of relief and
he was like, oh my god, this is insane, but okay,
that's that. What was his like original reaction to her
doing that? And then he found out it.
Speaker 3 (19:49):
Was fake and he was like, oh, okay, all.
Speaker 4 (19:51):
Right, move the what she did tattoo on her said
zero one twenty twenty whose birthday was this?
Speaker 3 (19:59):
Okay? Why oh they want to just go get it?
Wasn't for their birth okay.
Speaker 4 (20:02):
I thought that maybe they were getting the tattoo on
his actual birthday, but now they're just getting their first
set of tattoos together. So Alex, she put zero one
twenty ninety five forever and people loved having.
Speaker 3 (20:19):
You know, this this joke out on Instagram.
Speaker 2 (20:22):
It was good. You know, it's interesting. I will be
with Jessica for the rest of my life. I think
if she said, hey, Ben, would you get my birthday
tattooed on you? I'd be like, well, yeah, but why, sure,
but like I don't necessarily know why I would. That's cool.
(20:45):
I guess, would you get Jared's birthday tattooed on you?
Speaker 4 (20:49):
I would rather have something that was like more meaningful
to him than his birthday, because like he doesn't give
a crap about his birthday, Like I understand that, like
it's the day that he came into the world, and obviously.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
That's huge for both of us.
Speaker 4 (21:02):
Sure, but I would, like, honestly in his name, rather
do like his favorite Rob.
Speaker 3 (21:07):
Thomas lyrics, Okay, because.
Speaker 4 (21:09):
Like something that really spoke to him on like a
deeper level.
Speaker 2 (21:16):
I mean that that would be sweet. I know Jessica
and I are going to get like shared tattoos here soon.
I'm not going to share what yet, but I know
we're going to. We haven't planned once she's done breastfeeding
to do that, and I'm excited for that. I watched
his video. I was actually surprised with how calm maybe
(21:38):
it would be the word Andrew seemed when she shared this,
Like he was like, okay, like maye, yeah that's fine.
Speaker 3 (21:46):
I mean, how else is he supposed to react like
freaked out? That was?
Speaker 4 (21:49):
But yeah, maybe maybe he's just like the sweetest, like
go with the flow guy though he like smiles and
laughs at everything.
Speaker 2 (21:57):
I wonder if do we Greg and Victoria's still have
their shared tattoos?
Speaker 3 (22:03):
Oh my god, why would they do that? Remember, I
do vaguely remember that that.
Speaker 2 (22:10):
Or something on their arms. I wonder.
Speaker 5 (22:12):
It's so ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (22:23):
Big news, really sweet news. Ari and Lauren Leandyke they
obviously just had their next baby. They have forty two
kids at this point.
Speaker 1 (22:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (22:34):
They share the sweet video of their forty one other
kids meeting the baby sister, Livy for the first time.
Speaker 4 (22:42):
Yes, it's so adorable, and I will say, I'm not
gonna do it, but like their videos of Livy maybe
be like for the first time contemplat three.
Speaker 3 (22:53):
Okay, maybe not for the first maybe not for the
first time.
Speaker 4 (22:56):
But I was like, oh, yeah, okay, I remember now
be the baby baby, Like, oh, that is sad that
I'll never have a baby baby again.
Speaker 3 (23:07):
But I can't do it. I literally can't. You guys
can come live in my house.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
You can't do it.
Speaker 4 (23:13):
But she's adorable, She's so cute and the amount of
hair this baby has is unreal.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
They have the cutest the kids.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
Yeah, did Winny have that much hair? No, no, no.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
She had like a little patch in the back. It
was hios that's.
Speaker 3 (23:28):
Right, Okay, there was something up with her hair.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
Yeah, it was like a rat tail in the back.
It was beautiful.
Speaker 3 (23:33):
She's a beautiful, beautiful route beautiful.
Speaker 2 (23:41):
Claire Crawley documents her visit to Mexico for medical treatments.
I haven't heard about this. This is new to me,
so actually what's going on.
Speaker 4 (23:49):
So what happened with Claire is back when she had
the breast implants and she had the breast implant poisoning
is that what they call it. She got those things
out like three years ago, and she's been so such
an advocate for getting breast implants out because of just
all the effects that they have on her body. And
one of the effects were these rashes that she would get,
(24:10):
and so she'd get these steroid creams, and now she
has topical steroid withdrawal, which means that like she's just
you know, imagine a rash is nothing compared to what
she is dealing with.
Speaker 3 (24:28):
And it doesn't just affect your skin.
Speaker 4 (24:31):
It's actually a mitochondrial dysfunction, she says. So it ends
up affecting your cells on the deepest level, and this
facility in Mexico they treat you with stem cells, which
is amazing for it.
Speaker 3 (24:44):
She said.
Speaker 4 (24:45):
The brutal truth about this withdrawal is that right now
there's no pill, no cream, no lotion that can heal
the condition, and for many it can take years of
pain and uncertainty without finding relief goodness. She's like, I
cannot just wait and let this pass me by. I
want to give my body every chance that it can
to heal.
Speaker 3 (25:05):
So she's been just been doing she's been proactive.
Speaker 4 (25:08):
She was down in Mexico at this place, it's like
fifteen minutes from the border. She flew into San Diego
and was there like a half an hour later, and
she said that what they're doing down there is so
fantastic for this and it's just something that she wanted
to do, and it was a week away from her family.
But I think she's feeling much better after this trip.

And we wanted to have.

Her come to the Jonas concert and do those interviews
with us while we were there, but she wasn't able

a couple months ago. She was like, Yeah, I'm not
showing my face because like it doesn't look the way
that you guys know what to look. And I'm really
(25:49):
actually insecure about this.
Speaker 2 (25:50):
Yeah, let's get her on talk more about this. That's
what the headlines we have for you today, Ashley. This
is fun. I'm glad you had a great weekend. I
will find the video, the whole entirety of the video
of I'm just been to make you giggle and make
you laugh. We'll be back more this week. As we said,
we have some great content coming your way, not only
(26:11):
from the concerts, but also some updates with the Golden Bachelor.
More headlines when it comes to news coming out of
