Speaker 1 (00:01):
Morning Run with Amy and TJ and iHeartRadio Podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Good morning everyone, Thanks for joining us for today's morning run.
It's Wednesday, November twenty sixth. That makes it Thanksgiving Eve.
Hello everyone. I'm Amy Robot and I'm.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
TJ Holmes and Thanksgiving Eve. Yes, it means we're just
one day away robes from getting the okay to play
my favorite Christmas movie.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Oh. I thought you were gonna say that we get
the ok to eat carbs.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
No, oh no, no, I meat, I eating carbs tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Oh I'm eating carbs tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Who you do you boo boo? But yes, you know,
as soon as the meal is served. I got die
Hard on from the background, and it does not stop
playing until January one. Why are you making the face
you're supposed to? I thought you enjoyed this annual tradition.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
I like watching you get excited.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
I am very very excited about that. But wherever you are,
many of you are on the road, many of you
are in an airport, wherever you might be, hope you
are getting you're going safely and maybe even patiently. We
probably should get folks their heads up. If you got
some Campbell's soup and your meal this Thanksgiving. This is
you brought this to my attention to day or so ago.
This is the Is it funny? A Campbell's CEO says

(01:17):
the food is unhealthy. It's crap.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
That's a nice way to put it. He said it
much more vulgarly, if that's a word. But yes, we
actually will tell you about it in the morning run.
We're gonna do a whole other podcast on it because
this thing was recorded and it's nuts. You just we
need to spend a little time on this story later today.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
Oh but folks, that's always top right corner of that
Apple podcast app. Click that button that says follow so
we can get our updates as we have them, and
there are plenty, it seems these days. Ropes.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
That's right, well, joining us for the run this morning.
We have Cash Betel, Greta Thunberg, Mark Kelly, and four
French thieves. Plus we have updates on that botchulism in
baby formula outbreak, the missing Virginia football coach who is
now considered a fugitive, and the murder of eight and Pats.
But we have to talk about the weather.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
See that's on everybody's mind obviously, everybody's trying to get somewhere,
and it's going to be kind of a mess for
folks track if you're on the road, which overwhelmingly the
majority of people are. But there's a lot of snow
and rain and wind and a mess and a lot
of places. But you look at that map and it
looks like a kid has been playing on the weather map,
because literally not quite half, but certainly more than a
third is covered with pink and white and blues, and

(02:32):
it's just rain and snow all over the place. We
got it, which he says winter storm warnings were infect
in places like Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, and some of
that continues throughout the day to day.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
I always remember from working in local news, when your
local weathercaster or meteorologists calls it interesting weather map, you
know you're in for some issues. So, yeah, there are
two storm systems. One is over the Ohio Valley. It
brought significant rain to the northeast. We saw that last night.
And then it's bringing winds and heavy snow to the

(03:02):
Midwest and Great Lakes Minnesota getting an inch of snow
an hour. But dare I say, those folks, those hardy
folks are used to it. Oh yeah, my mom and
dad lived there for thirteen years. I visited them in
December once. Once I visited them in December.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
See, they think it's funny we're reporting about their weather
because it sounds extraordinarily. US continue to hear all the
run though this is good news. There are some good
signals coming out of these talks to end the Russia
Ukraine War. Well, the end could be near because US
officials are telling the likes of NBC and CBS News
that Ukraine has agreed to a peace proposal. This was

(03:39):
the plan that was pushed by President Trump.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
High ranking US and Ukrainian officials have been meeting over
the past couple of days, and now President Trump says
he will dispatch his Special ENVOYE. Steve Whitcoff, we know
his name well to Russia. He's going to meet with
President Putin with the hopes of finalizing this deal. This
obviously would be huge. This is something Trump has been
trying to get in place. Didn't you say at one
point he'd get it done in seven days once he

(04:02):
became president.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
But he said it was harder than I thought he did.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
He did a rare admission that he maybe misjudged the
difficulty level, but look, this is this is good.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
News right now. This is a big deal. Has been
fast developing and breaking developments this week. So that's your
update there. And update also about the FBI wanting to
now interview those six senators who made a video telling
members of the military to disobey illegal orders. Remember this
president really got annoyed by this video. Of course, he's
been sending troops to different streets all over the country,

(04:33):
but they put this video together, and he said it
was seditious and reminded us all that sedition was punishable
by death. He took it that series.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
Yes, and so Democrats say they have been contacted by
the FBI to schedule their interviews. I cannot even imagine
what that phone call was like. And we should mention
Trump did back off calling for these six lawmakers death, however,
but he has maintained and has not minced words, that
he thinks they should all be in jail. All right,

(05:03):
Senator Mark Kelly among those six, But he is actually
facing something beyond jail. He's actually facing his own separate review.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
This is wild. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseeth has asked
the Navy Secretary to review the video for quote, potentially
unlawful conduct. We're not exactly sure what that means, but
the Defense Department did put out in social media a
couple days ago talking about that video and raise the
possibility of bringing him back from military service, which they

(05:32):
can do because he retired, or senior officer bring him
back just to court martialal is what they're talking about.
But this review they're asking for now is supposed to
be due on December tenth at the latest.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
All right, Next up on the run, President Trump says
he wants to keep his cash with a K. The
White House is responding to media reports that Trump was
considering replacing his FBI director Cash Bettel.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
That was the line I was only going to give
to you when I said this morning.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
That's right up my alley. You know I love a
good folks.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
I was sitting across from her riding that and I said,
I got a line for you this morning, And you
know what I liked? That was it? All well. The
network formerly known as MSNBC cited three sources saying that
Patel might be on his way out. The White House
Press Secretary Carolyn Levitt responded on social media, saying she
actually read the headline to President Trump, who then immediately

(06:24):
called Patel over for a picture, saying, let's show them
you're doing a good job. And they took the pick
and posted it. So there's a as good of endorsement
you can get.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
All smiles, all right. Next up on the Run, we
have an update on a story we told you about yesterday.
That manhunt is still underway for high school football coach
in Virginia. We're talking about forty six year old Travis Turner.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
This was a bizarre, a very mysterious story from the beginning.
He's been missing since the last week. Police weren't saying
initially why they were looking for him, but they put
a lot of resources into it, but say he wasn't
they didn't want him for a rest. Well, they changed
their tune yesterday saying, in fact, he is wanted on
ten felony counts having to do with possession of child

(07:08):
pornography and using a computer to solicit a minor. Again, Rose,
you talked about and looking into his background. This is
a hometown boy, a hometown hero, and now such a
part of the community and this is devastating. Yeah, he's
still missing in a witted area and they've been looking
for him with drones and dogs and everything.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
So this is day six now, And yeah, this is
a town Appalachia, Virginia in the Tri state area. Two
thousand people in this town. They have long history. So yes,
we actually did a podcast right before this the full story.
It really is fascinating and frankly devastating for this community.
But we'll keep our eyes on what happens with that story.
But in the meantime, next up on the run another
story that has plagued specifically New York City for decades.

(07:51):
The man who was previously convicted of kidnapping and murdering
eight and Pats will now be retried eight and Pats.
If you think about it, and if you google his name,
you will see that picture and you will recognize me
because this is the case, one of the most famous
abduction cases that actually started the movement for child missing
children putting their pictures on milk carton's. Literally ate and

(08:12):
Pats's face was on a milk carton and you'll recognize
it when you see it. But this happened in nineteen
seventy nine. He was walking to his school bus. He
was six years old in Soho.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
Well, and I'm trying to I can't remember Adam Walsh. Yes, right,
those two kids changed law enforcement, they changed, their abductions changed,
and it really has a lot to do with high
profile here. But the Walsh they wouldn't let it go
right and became their mission. But they really did change
how we view child abduction, child reduction, can missing persons. Yes,

(08:45):
they actually did so. Yes, that's explaining and just he's
a part of history if you will. But the guy
who was convicted and sentenced for his death in twenty seventeen,
well that conviction was actually overturned earlier this year. They
kept him in jail though, as prosecutors were deciding what
they were wanting to do. But Pedro Hernandez is his name,
he's sixty four. Now he is going to stay in

(09:08):
custody as they plan now to retry him. This is
going to be incredible to see that case try.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
The I know it's going to happen this summer, they say,
right now. But this is his third trial because the
first trial resulted in a hung jury. Second one was
the conviction, then it was overturned. So yeah, this will
be this will be quite the trial and this summer.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
Overturn on some kind of a technicality with a jury note,
and the.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
Jury asked if they could consider something. The judge said
no when he should have said maybe that's from what
I understand, but it had nothing to do with the evidence.
It was the jurors instruction.

Speaker 1 (09:43):
So did he admit to this?

Speaker 2 (09:44):
Yes? Yes, okay, yes, so this is yes, this is
a wild story, all right. Next up on the run,
more arrests in that Louve jewel heist, but still no jewels.
That's crazy. More more people were arrested. They haven't said
what their roles were, or what they did or didn't do,
or what they think they did. But it was two
men and two women. And again a reminder, one hundred

(10:06):
and two million dollars worth of French crown jewels were
stolen and remain missingsing at that stuff.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
This is so fascinating if they think they got everybody.
And yes, now that they arrested these four in addition
to the three they already had in custody, they now
say they believe they have that four man team that
actually participated in the heist. They say they got them.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
But I think it'd be better for them to have
the jewels and not the people.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
But oh, well, you know what, that's a good question.
Well how about that. Would you rather have them in
jail for their crimes or to have the jewels back
and have thieves go free.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
I think it's the ladder of the two.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
Wow, all right.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
Next up on the run by Heart, the company behind
the bachelorism outbreak says that now all of its products
might be tainted. We know at least thirty plus babies
have been sick, and thankfully there have been no deaths
as a result of this outbreak. But the company had
initially recalled some of its products, and they added some
more products. Now it's all the products.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
They can't tell. They cannot give it all clear to
a single drop of their products.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
Yeah, because they went back nine months and they had
babies that were sick.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
They can't. So, yes, they tested, they said, this is
their statement. Based on these results of the latest testing,
we cannot rule out the risk that all buy Hard formula,
across all product lots may have been contaminated. Wow, this
company's out of business, are they?

Speaker 2 (11:34):
I mean, I can't. That's going to be very difficult
to bounce back from because even if they figure out
the source and they remedy the situation, you think I'm
gonna buy buy Heart products and put them inside my child?
Probably not?

Speaker 1 (11:48):
All right? Well, folks, stay with us on this Thanksgiving
Eve run. When we come back, you need to hear
this before you use any Campbell soup products and your
things Giving meal. Also, somebody just got kicked out of
Venice for vandalism, and America First also applies to our
national parks and a Trump pardoning ceremony for turkeys like

(12:11):
one we've never seen before.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
Continuing our run on this, I was gonna say Thursday Eve,
but no Thanksgiving Eve. No, you said it right. I
just said it. I thought it wrong. I was hoping
it was going to be Friday. But you know what,
We're on the eve of an amazing holiday, so that's
exciting in and of itself. The problem is a lot
of us present party included, we'll be using Campbell's soup
products in their cast I'm using I'm using two different

(12:44):
Campbell soups. Wow, and I'm actually preparing them tonight in
advance of our meals tomorrow. R.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
It's not healthy though, you.

Speaker 2 (12:51):
Ain't gonna eat either one of them, so it's fine.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
Well, certainly if it has campbell soup product, did it stop?

Speaker 2 (12:56):
I have cream of mushroom soup being used in one
of my cast roles, and I have cream of chicknsume
being used in another one.

Speaker 1 (13:02):
Happen is not healthy. Campbell's soup products are not healthy.
Don't you know? They are not healthy? According to a
Campbell's executive. This is not us saying this. This Campbell's
soup executive said it's not healthy and it's for poor people.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
I mean, I did not grow up wealthy and I
consumed a lot of Campbell's soup products. I can say
that much. But that's as far as I can take here.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
You've had some health problem.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
Stop it stop. It's executive Martin Valley has been placed
on leave. He is the VP of it. And there
is a doozy of an audio recording that has come
to light. It's all part of a lawsuit. The executive
made fun of Campbell's soup customers, called the food unhealthy,
made extremely racist comments, made fun of the customers, that

(13:53):
he would never eat the product.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
This went on for a while, didn't they say? Hour
and fifteen minutes, okay, idea of something on These are
direct quotes. I don't want to eat a piece of
chicken that came from a three D printer. Another and
I quote and forgive the language. We have shit for
fucking poor people who buys our shit. I don't buy

(14:17):
Campbell's products barely anymore. It's not healthy. Now that I
know what the fuck's in it.

Speaker 2 (14:23):
That is terrible.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
They should they're gonna.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
The funny thing is, well, obviously they have to make
sure and verify that the voice is the person who
the fired employees says it was. But clearly this is
exactly what it seems like. And if it is determined,
I don't know how they figure out whose voice is what.
But yeah, I don't think he's going to be the
VP of it for.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
Very long, not long at all.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
He's on administrative leave. Just for the record, But there.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
Is a VP, an executive of this company saying that
his products in a moment that he doesn't know in
an honest moment, he's saying that he knows what's in
it and he won't eat it.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
Yes, well, we're gonna just check check around noon when
I'm gonna be paring the cast role. We're gonna we're
gonna have a whole podcast on this. This is this
is a doozy of a story.

Speaker 1 (15:13):
All right, folks, get you on the run here now
with environmental activists Greta Thunberg. She's been kicked out of Venice.
That's a tough place to get kicked out of, it
you rolling your eyes?

Speaker 2 (15:22):
Why well, just because she gets kicked out of a
lot of places, and even the bezos didn't get kicked out.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
You know, she was kicked out of Venice because she
was part of a group that decided to do a
little demonstration and turn those famous canals green by pouring
this dye into it. It's not supposed to be toxic,
they say, but it turns the waterway green. And they're
trying to make a point.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
Yeah, so, uh, the group called Extinct Extinction Rebellion, So
this is what the group's name is. And they claim
that they're trying to make a point about the massive
effect of climate collapse. So yes, they they died all
of those famous Venice canals a sickly, putrid green.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
Okay, so we say, okay, well, big deal is just
some die that made their point. But local officials say
this quote, vandalism doesn't protect the environment. I kind of
thought their tone was at some points good, but they
said this is actually going to require them to do
some restoration work and it's actually going to generate pollution,
So I guess I appreciate.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
What they said. Look, you you actually asked me if
Grete was an environmentalist or an environmental activist, and I
was like, I really think the latter, because I mean, yes,
she's trying to bring awareness and she's trying to try
to light but to do it through vandalism. I understand
how frustrating that probably is for Venice officials who have
to now clean up their display of anger about how

(16:44):
we're treating the environment.

Speaker 1 (16:46):
And the band's only a couple of days. They just
kicked her out, and I guess you can.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
Come back later forty eight hours, Okay, all right? Next
up on the Run America. First, apparently even applies to
tourists at.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
Our nas change aimed at lasts of America trying to
visit one of our was it eleven great nationals on
this list in particular, but yeah, to pay up to
one hundred dollars more for entry. Interior Department calls it
America first entry fee policies. They start at the beginning
of the year. And yeah, I hate when anybody says

(17:16):
it like this fair share international visitors have to pay
their fair share is how he put it in the area.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
Yeah, I don't know. That leaves a bad taste in
my mouth. Aren't national parks supposed to be enjoyed by
all and be accessible to everyone, not just people in
this country, but people who appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (17:32):
Their argument is that we are paying for it as
American citizens for other people to come here and enjoy,
and why shouldn't they pay a larger part of taking
care of it if they're just coming to visit. It's
part of the argument they make. I'm not on board
with that.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
But like, if you make it one hundred bucks a ticket,
that's cost prohibitive, but that's more expensive than Disney. I
just feel like that. Sadly, people fewer people who will
be going to see the Grand Canyons. And I do
think when you when you appreciate the beauty of this country,
you appreciate the people maybe a little bit more, Maybe
you appreciate just this country a little more, and it

(18:10):
could open hearts and minds to several people who I
think we have maybe done the opposite without having.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
To have a conversation with an American and you can
still appreciate America and you want more. And if you
are going to the parks, all right, We're going to
wrap up the run with the turkey partning ceremony at
the White House. We've seen these every year, and for
whatever reason, I like watching them. They're just kind of
funny and see what awkward moment is between the President
and the turkey.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
You never know what's going to happen when you have
children or animals on live television, so it's always worth
a watch.

Speaker 1 (18:41):
We know how this is going to go. Well, we
used to. And then there was a Trump Turkey partning
ceremony yesterday. Now remember the names. I know you weren't
wild about them, but after I read the rest of
them to you, you understood. The turkeys were Gobble and Waddle.
So the President was on yesterday. It looks like he
got good rest, he was feeling, he had good energy.
He was back to being a TV guy, TV producer.

(19:03):
But he he put on a show. He said, Gobbling Waddle.
He wanted to call them Chuck and Nancy.

Speaker 2 (19:09):
Yes, he said, I'll quote the president here. When I
first saw their pictures, I thought, well, I shouldn't say this,
but I was gonna call them Chuck and Nancy. But
then I thought I would never pardon those two people.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
But I'm bump.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
And then and then he made a joke about the
auto pen and last year's turkey. So here's what he said.
Last year, Sleepy Joe Biden used an auto pen for
the turkey's pardon. So I have determined that last year's
turkey pardons are totally invalid.

Speaker 1 (19:36):
It wasn't mean, you know what, He made up a
good political joke without being mean.

Speaker 2 (19:40):
Spirit then he undid it.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
Yeah, okay, see, I was trying to end on a
happy note from the Turkey thing.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
Then why'd you put big fat slob in the in
the rundown.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
Because that's what he called the governor of Illinois.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
Okay, So he undid all of his funny gestures that
seemingly were just you know, in good fun. But then
he had to go to poor taste.

Speaker 1 (20:03):
Before we let you go. Something we like for you
to consider on this today before Thanksgiving. It is our
quote of the day. And again, oh yeah, these are
still I'm pulling these from my files, so blame me
if you don't like them. Okay, also give me credit
if you love them.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
And also I'll just give you an extra brownie point
for having one today.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
Boom. See you know what. Never mind, just for that,
nobody gets one. The whole class is gonna get punished
because of the behavior of one little miss Amy. Revit. No,
yes yesterday, I it was a mess. I actually had
a bad day.

Speaker 2 (20:37):
Yet you had a bad day yesterday. I didn't pile
on because I was like, ooh, that's that's not how
he needed to end this.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
But it started with me not being able while we
were in the live recording being able to find the
thing I had plucked out. I couldn't find it on
two computers. I was looking through tabs and couldn't find it.
But this is what it was from yesterday. Quote. What
can seem like a painful war again to you, and
what can feel like an ambush at every corner, may

(21:04):
be a blessing guiding you and breaking you out of
the tight and limiting armor that has become too small
for you.

Speaker 2 (21:13):
Oh very cool.

Speaker 1 (21:15):
I love it. I wrote that down years ago. It
comes from a young lady Sarah Blondon from my insight
timer at the meditation app.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
I love it because I was taking it. I don't
know tell me if I'm on the right path, but
when I hear that, I think we all take things
so personally sometimes. And when you feel that tightness in
your chest and you feel your body actually constrict and
restrict because you're feeling offended or whatever, you have to
like say, wait, why you feel that armor that you've
built up to protect yourself and your ego and you

(21:48):
feel it tightening and squeezing you. That's on you and
you need to do the growth. It has nothing to
do with the person who said what they said.

Speaker 1 (21:55):
It jumped out at me and it's been simmering for
two days now, So I hope you like it.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
Can you say it one more time?

Speaker 1 (22:01):
What can seem like a painful war against you, and
what can feel like an ambush at every corner may
be a blessing guiding you and breaking you out of
the tight and limiting armor that has become too small
for you. And with that, folks, please be safe, be
careful getting where you're going, enjoy your time, appreciate the

(22:23):
ones with Huckam tights, no arguments at the table, and
all that good stuff, but certainly hope you all are
on your way to a wonderful Thanksgiving. I'm TJ.

Speaker 2 (22:31):
Holmes and I'm Amy Roboch. Thank you everyone for running
