Speaker 1 (00:03):
Plank one and only famous.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Perez Gilton.
Speaker 1 (00:17):
My guys, welcome to the PHP booker here. Perez there,
how do you do?
Speaker 2 (00:21):
I'm good. You sound like you're in a good mood.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
I do.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
Are you in a good mood? Anything good?
Speaker 1 (00:26):
Just up and awake and ready to go.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
I guess alive. We love it. Well, We're gonna be
talking Taylor Swift today. A lot to get to. There
also some surprising developments with the split between Keith Urban
and Nicole Kidman, Diddy and Moore. But first, on Friday,
I received an award from the a c l U
(00:48):
of Nevada thanks to Blake Lively. That was so cool.
It was a total surprise. They do things differently at
the ACLU of Nevada annual fundraiser event. The recipients of
their awards don't know ahead of time they're going to
receive awards. So I'm like, they're enjoying my chicken and
waffles and they call my name and I'm like, oh
(01:11):
my god. I really wasn't nervous because I'm like, before me,
all of these people who like actually do really important
work spoke and I felt like such an impostor. But
they recognized the fight and the reasons why I resisted
the Blake Lively subpoena, and it was really nice to
get that recognition from them, so thank you to them.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
Very nice.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
Yeah. Also, I took my kids to the new Universal
Horror Unleashed at Area fifteen and I love haunted houses.
But other than that, all is good. Anything you want
to share.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
No, I did nothing this weekend. I don't think I
left the house with the costc That's it.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
Well. I did listen to the Taylor Swift album even more,
and we already did a special podcast bonus this episode
on Patreon with all of our thoughts on that, so
we won't really go into it much except for the
new developments and any thoughts that we haven't already shared,
(02:11):
which is there might be some overlap. But my first
big thought is social media amplifies rage, bait, hate gets
more views. So I feel like over the last few days,
I've only been seeing negative responses to the Taylor album
in video form on Instagram and TikTok and then in
(02:35):
text form on threads, like everybody is hating on it.
But I'm like, are these what most people are thinking?
Or or are these the minority but then I kept
thinking about our Patreon message board, and I could be wrong,
but it feels like most people on our Patreon message
board were disappointed with the album.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
I think it's easier to say something negative than it
is to say something positive. I think it's just as
simple as that. Like if you go to a restaurant
and it's just okay, you're not gonna go online and
be like, yeah, it was just okay, you just won't
go online, But if you dislike something, you'll run online
to do it. I don't know. I think it's just
(03:15):
part of, like you said, the world we live in.
Everybody has to have an opinion. And I've seen so
many of these videos as well. Some are fair, some
are good points.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
But you sent me some bitch.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
Yeah, but it's most people are saying the same things.
But you know, I sent you some that basically said
what I said. I'll just you guys didn't hear it.
If you're not a Patreon subscriber, you chief bucks. But
I think it's fine, and I stand by just that.
It's fine. It's not some great record. It's not like
the most amazing album ever.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
He guess what, who cares?
Speaker 1 (03:51):
It doesn't have to be you know what I mean.
It's like, that's what she wanted to put out, and
it's fine. If you're gonna ask me, is it some
great opus? Rolling Stone? One hundred out of one hundred,
Get out of her ass, rolling Stone, Like, give me
a break, calm down. But it's fine. It's not terrible.
It's not like if you want to say it's a
little underwhelming, fine, I get that.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
I did not say that.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
No, no, no, I'm saying to people if they want
to say it's a little underwhelming or it's not what
they were expecting or they wanted something more, Okay, I mean,
I guess everybody can have an opinion, but you know,
that's what the world is now, people online with their opinion.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
I feel like Taylor is damned if she does, damned
if she doesn't. People were criticizing the last album because
it was too lyrical and it was not accessible enough,
it wasn't pop, and then this one they're criticizing it because,
oh now the lyrics are dumbed down. She's got a
song about her boyfriend's cock and so ex you know,
(04:48):
so many explicit words and this I don't know. The
more I listened to it. I still stand by my
initial review, and I also stand by what I said
seven days ago for the album came out, or the
day before the album came out. I forget which episode,
but I said I think it might have backfired that
when she went on her boyfriend, her now fiance's podcast,
(05:11):
they overhyped it. Travis said, banger after bangraft and it
was not that it was not an album of bangers whatsoever,
but it was an album that I think of great
pop songs.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
Yeah, it's very very solid. Yeah, it's a solid record.
But would Perez Hilton, if you had to rate it
out of one hundred, would you say it's one hundred.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
No, But I would give it a ninety.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
I would go higher. I would say maybe ninety.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
Two, Okay, ninety two even Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
And that's a very good grade.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
I don't even know if I would give it a
ninety two. Really No, it's.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
A good pop record. It is apples to apples to
other pop albums that are out. It's better than most
of them.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
I still wouldn't give it more than a ninety, only
because it's fair. Only because the thing that the biggest critique,
which actually you after you fucking brought this up on
the Patreot episode. I could not stop thinking about it.
The title track straight up copies the Jonas Brothers song Cool,
And then all these people, after I made a video
(06:08):
about it, were like, well she got permission, Like, bitch, please.
I love Taylor Swift, but I can keep it real.
In the official credits list that her label sent to
the media, the only writer credited aside from Taylor, Max Martin,
and Shellback was George Michael the only one. And as
(06:31):
of yesterday, which is the last time that I checked
on Apple Music and Spotify, I don't know if you
know you can do this, y'all, but each song, if
you click on it, you can see the credits for
each individual song. That title track, as of Sunday, still
did not credit the Jonas Brothers and Ryan Tedder, their
co writer and producer, and Taylor went after fucking Olivia
(06:55):
Rodrigo for the same thing on a song that wasn't
even as obvious. Is a ripoff? This is an obvious
ripoff that Jonas burther's cools And then I cant seeing
all these other like this is a Luis Miguel song,
This is a Weezer song.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
By the way the Weezer song is more of a
Pixie song. I mean, it is chord for chord, but
finish your thought. And I just want to say one
thing to that.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
The reason I give it a ninety and well, first
of all, like the Chapel Rohne song the Midwestern Princess album,
to me, that's one hundred out of one hundred. That
is like a pop masterpiece album.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
It's pretty close.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
And then Brat from Charlie. I would give that like
a ninety three or ninety four just because it felt
so fresh and different and cool, and it was dance music.
But it also if you listened to it, the song
that upset Taylor, Sympathy is a Knife. It's actually like
lyrically deep. It's not just these you know, repetitive, stupid
(07:49):
dance tropes. This did not feel revolutionary, it did not
feel fresh, it did not feel different. But I fucking
loved it. I loved the album.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
And the whole leaning into the Life of a show Girl. Yeah, yes, yes,
that's not on the record, you know what I mean,
It's in the title track, but the rest of it,
it's like, I don't understand that.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
Well, a lot of people were bothered by the marketing
and the theme and the era. You know, they're like, oh,
we thought we were going to get something, you know,
about the life of a showgirl, about about her and
the visuals. They feel like the visuals as well did
not line up with the sonic.
Speaker 1 (08:23):
With the music.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
Yeah, that didn't bother me.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
And I'm with you if like, that's what you want
the theme to look like. But back to your point,
she leaned into it so much.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
But she is the Showgirls. It's like, this is her
life and she's writing about her life.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
I don't care about that because I'm just listening to
the songs, you know what I mean. It's just like
a song thing. Like, if that's what she wants the
era to look like, I couldn't care less. It's a
weird thing to lean into. But back to the credits
of the songs. I believe and I think that because
they're so guarded with her music now and she has
to be in this digital world, it liaked the day up. Yeah,
(08:58):
you have to be so guarded. I believe. You get
three people in a room and it may not be intentional,
but when you borrow from other people and you don't
realize that you did, because you put all these different
layers together and this and that. You need somebody on
the outside to listen to the record. That's kind of
a you know, a pro ear your ear, my ear,
(09:19):
that would go ooh, you know, you just copied the
Pixies there, like note for note, ooh, you just copied
Jonas brothers. That's the coolest thing, you know, Like you
need somebody to point things like that out. And it
used to be done because A and R people, you know,
they'd pass it around. But I get it. It's the
digital age and you can't do that.
Speaker 2 (09:35):
But also it's weird because I still stand by my
initial review. But the more I listen to it, the
more I do wish there was at least a couple
of bangers, right. I love the Fate of Ophelia, But
that's not a fucking banger. It's a great stop song.
And open line, which is my open line, is my favorite.
It's not a bublite either. Opaite opaite, right, opaite.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
And it's funny because I didn't catch and I always
say this. You hear me say this on the show
all the time. You have to live with songs. So
over the weekend, I fell in love with Opalay. I
thought it was mid when we did the you know,
And I don't want to say review because I you know,
I've been steadfast about let a record live with somebody
so it can get in you and you can, you know,
(10:18):
you can hear what's going on, and then you know,
it was like last night, I was just like flipping
through Instagram or something, and then I heard it. I
was like, yes, so now I get what you get
about that song. But it happens, It takes a minute.
That's another thing about all these reviews and these people
hating on at this and that you couldn't have possibly
listened to it that much to have this in depth
(10:39):
of a review, you know. So it's a lot of silliness.
And I just go back to it's fine. It really is.
It's fine. There doesn't need to be any hate attached
to that. There doesn't need to be like slobbering a
hundred out of one hundred attached to that. It's fine.
It's a good record.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
Yeah, I really like it. I still like it a lot.
I'm not underwhelmed. I love it for what it is.
I just I wish we can go back in time
and delete Travis saying banger after banger or bangers because
it's it's not that, it's not that at all, and
he should have I mean, I guess he's not really
sophisticated when it comes to describing music. I don't know
if I should go back and rewatch it because I
don't know if Taylor herself described it that way.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
Yeah, I don't know either.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
I know he did.
Speaker 1 (11:20):
I recall him saying it. He's like explaining it to
his brother.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
Yeah. Anyways, Yeah, it's done Bonker's numbers. In just the
first day alone, she sold two point seven million copies.
Taylor is on track. She wants, she's hungry, she's ambitious.
I love that, and she wants to beat Adele's record
(11:44):
for most albums sold in one week or moved, however
you describe it. That was three point three seven eight
Adele did in twenty fifteen with her album twenty five.
In one day. Taylor did over two point seven and
that was jet actual sales. That's not even counting in streaming.
(12:05):
She sold over two point seven million physical and digital
purchases in one day, and well over a million of
just vinyl as well, and just bonkers bonkers, bonkers. I
think it'll be easy for her to break that Adell
record before Thursday, which is the last day of tracking.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
And give her credit. Kellen went to the movie theater thing,
she just wanted to see it with her friend and
I was like, was it packed? Was it crazy? She goes,
there were four people there, totally per And she was
at Target this weekend too, and she said the shelves
were completely packed and stocked with the albums, like there
were hundreds and hundreds of them, like nobody had bought
any of them. But give her credit for doing things differently,
(12:46):
putting asses and seats in a movie theater. Theaters they're
not doing great and she's thinking outside of the box
and helping another industry out. Well.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
That movie did very well at the box office. It
came in at number one, making over thirty three million
dollars this weekend in just the US, and it made
well over forty five million internationally. She even beat Dwayne
the Rock Johnson in his new movie by a lot.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
So yeah, it's not an action film though, is it.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
No, it's the wrestling movie.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
This is the serious the Rock right, Yeah?
Speaker 2 (13:20):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, this serious the Rock.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:23):
She also debuted the music video for the Fate of
Ophelia in that movie Experience, and then last night it
debuted on YouTube and I watched it, and I think
this is one of her best videos ever. This Blank
Space and Look What You Made Me Do are her
best videos ever. There was a ton of Easter eggs
(13:43):
in them, But the easter egg that I was most
excited about was if you look closely, which I think
I said on our Patreon show that she was going
to be doing something there. If you look closely, you'll
see the sphere in Las Vegas, that's an Easter egg.
It was done on purpose. I don't know exactly what happened.
(14:04):
Also over the weekend, they were like there was something
with like doors popping up in places.
Speaker 1 (14:09):
Oh yeah, which unlocks some weird code and it'll unlock
some YouTube thing. Now we're just like, what are we nine?
At some point it's like a little mutch.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
Two minutes ago, you were applauding her for doing things differently.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
I like it differently, but like at some point it's
just like overload.
Speaker 2 (14:25):
Well she is, because she's hungry. She wants that Adele record.
She dropped four new variants with acoustic unplugged songs on them.
She's the variant queen. Hmmm, although I think the variants
are just CDs. Who the fuck has seed? I mean,
I guess I Actually my car still has a CD player.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
These kids don't have record players either, They're just buying
them to put on their walls.
Speaker 2 (14:47):
Crazy. Did you watch the Fate of Ophelia music video?
Speaker 1 (14:51):
I saw just clips of it online, but you know,
I don't like videos. I just saw her dancing around.
I was like, I'm not really a video watcher.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
I am. I loved it. It's like a little movie.
It was so it's Actually it just reaffirms what I
believe that she filmed something female raged the musical or
whatever it is for this sphere because that music video
was so expensive. It probably cost her at least a
million dollars or more to make that music video, and
(15:19):
artists don't spend that much money on music videos anymore. However,
she made it all back at the box office, so
it paid off. Congrats to her. Also, we finally got
a response from Charlie XCX about the disc track that
Taylor wrote about her actually romantic, and Charlie responded by
(15:39):
posting photos from her trip to Paris for Fashion Week,
being unbothered, going about business as usual. So I liked.
I mean, I do wish she would have responded like
it would have been so drama. I'm disappointed, but maybe
she's just saving the response for a song off her
next album. She did make sure to include a photo
(16:04):
or was it video, I don't know, but she shared
that she was in the studio, so she might actually
be releasing a surprise song soon. So she's in the
studio already, so I'm excited about that. And let us
know your thoughts on the Taylor album and everything. Call
us eight hundred and seventy one five, all right, onto
Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman. Last week, everybody was speculating
(16:29):
that Keith Urban might have been cheating on Nicole Kidman
with his bandmate, his guitarist named Maggie Baugh. Well, her
father is chiming in on this. He posted on his
personal Facebook page. He shared a video that somebody made
about his daughter and he said no, just no, seemingly
(16:52):
inferring that his daughter is not dating Keith Urban. Additionally,
according to the latest reports from the weekend, that girl
has a boyfriend who is not Keith Urban. So could
be true, or maybe the relationship ended.
Speaker 1 (17:10):
She's dating she was never with him.
Speaker 2 (17:13):
I don't know. She's allegedly dating this lighting designer named
Cameron Kohley.
Speaker 1 (17:19):
Probably is. It's funny how people get into the fray
just because they're two feet away.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
Well, and he changed the lyrics for her, So what he.
Speaker 1 (17:28):
Does that every single night? I mean, that's what all
of the fans say. They're like, you just ask any fan,
They're like, he always changes the lyrics to songs.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
And pointed at her when he said I love you.
Speaker 1 (17:37):
Oh what I don't love her? It's his guitarist. They're musicians.
Speaker 2 (17:42):
Yeah, well, it does seem like Keith Urban has been
going through a lot. I learned that earlier this year.
At the beginning of the year, he fired his longtime
band of over twenty five years.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
Really the whole band, the whole band, damn.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
So, oh, you don't believe things. But you know, one
of the articles that came out, you know, sources claim
that Keith is going through a midlife crisis.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
I mean, I can believe that, but look, I mean,
when you've done the same thing for so long and
you ache to do something different, changing up your band,
it's Keith Urban, you know what I mean, Like, it
isn't the Keith Urban band, it's the people he goes
out with. You want a new sound, you want fresh
ideas and fresh thoughts. I don't find that even to
be remotely weird. And I would actually think a lot
(18:30):
of musicians do that, change up their guys every now
and again. So I don't know, no.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
But they don't usually fire the entire band.
Speaker 1 (18:38):
I mean that's a good point. But you know what,
in fairness, when you're like, I don't want to point
out one person. It's just easier to start new and
be fresh, and you know I want to try something different.
I get it, I guess, is all I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
All right. Well, In other news music related, Diddy was
sentenced on Friday. He got four years and two months.
I'll get credit for a year already served, so he'll
be behind bars for another three years and two months.
Speaker 1 (19:06):
I nailed it.
Speaker 2 (19:07):
Although people are saying, oh, he'll be out in a
year due to good behavior, I don't believe it works
that way in federal with federal charges. In federal prison,
you're probably right. I think they end up serving close
to ninety percent of the time, so he'll probably do
close to three more years. And this guy, we learned
(19:28):
on Friday, this is crazy. At the sentencing hearing, he
spoke and his lawyers called them a civil rights activist
and all this bullshit. But we learned that he had
speaking engagements lined up for later this month. Wow, this
guy thought he was going to be released, and I'm
(19:48):
just thrilled that he's not. In fact, there was this
you know that Unfortunately there are no cameras in the courtroom,
no video or even photograph cameras in the court room.
But this sketch drawing. Did you see that one sketch drawing?
Uh uh? He was crying and he bent over like
he was crying. He fell to the floor and he
(20:10):
was crying over his chair. And that just brought me
immense joy. It's a literally it's not full justice. But
at least he thought he was going to get out.
His lawyers must have convinced him that he was getting out.
He fucking scheduled speaking engagements later this month. And now
he's going to be in for at least three more years.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
So see, I see that as just acting, though Perez,
I think it's like over the top. I don't think
this guy gives a shit.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
What do you mean, of course he gives a shit.
Speaker 1 (20:38):
I don't think he cares about people.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
Nobody cares about being locked up for more than for more.
Speaker 1 (20:42):
No one wants to be locked up. But I still
think the Academy goes to p Diddy for your performance there.
That's what I would say.
Speaker 2 (20:49):
All right, and more music related news, Lola Young continues
to make headlines. God, it's wild. When you get everything
that you dream of, you don't realize all that comes
with that as well. When you achieve big success, you're
a big target and people come after you. Lola Young
(21:09):
has taken legal action against this musician who co produced
some of her music but is claiming songwriting credits, and
she claims that he was not involved in the songwriting
of these songs. She strongly refutes the assertions that he
has writing credits on four of her songs. This guy
(21:31):
named Carter Lang I had not heard him before, but
sending her positive vibes. It must not be easy. It's
not easy. It's not easy.
Speaker 1 (21:40):
It is not The sharks will start circling the waters
when they smell blood and clearly she's got some things
going on, and it's hard. You have people help you
on the way up and you think they're helping you,
and at the end of the day they got their
hand out, like where's mine? Now you know I helped you.
It's just like, nah, it doesn't work that way. But
you don't get it in writing and you're in a
studio working with somebody, you can be in trouble. She
(22:02):
may have to pay this person.
Speaker 2 (22:03):
It's probably smart if you're a musician. I mean, you
don't probably do this until you're Taylor Swift level, but
I bet you well. Ed Sheeran definitely does this, and
I'm sure Taylor does it as well. She probably films
all of her writing sessions just to be sure about
everything and maybe and to be sure that nobody like
accuses her of stealing this and that, and sometimes it
(22:23):
just happens accidentally, you know. Yeah, and more music related news.
I wish him success. I hope this goes well. But
this is a big red flag to me. I could
be wrong, but our audience, I think is definitely the
demo for this. Louis Tomlinson, formerly of One Direction, has
announced for twenty twenty six a North American arena tour. Woof,
(22:49):
this guy has not one solo hit, not one. At
least Nile Horn had one hit. Then he's cute. And
Louie does not have a single solo and poor Liam
rest in peace. He had one or two solo hits,
and so Denial. But Louie did not have one solo hit,
not one.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
You know, it's hard to know. You were talking about
somebody selling out the Garden Lord, Oh yeah, yeah, I'm
a Maggie Rogers fan. She did two nights at the
Garden he did, yeah, and I love her, but she
doesn't have a song that everybody knows, you know, So
I don't know he was in one direction. I mean,
they clearly had fans and could pack arenas, so I
don't know.
Speaker 2 (23:28):
Maybe it works.
Speaker 1 (23:28):
It's really hard to know nowadays. But I'm constantly shocked
by the rooms that some of these artists fill. It
blows my mind. So maybe it'll work. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (23:38):
Wow cool. Speaking of Louie Tomlinson, he is reuniting with
Zane Malick for a new Netflix buddy show. Although it's
so funny, they don't like to call anything a reality
show anymore. It's a fucking reality show. Although it's called
an unscripted road trip series a documentary theories, it's not
(24:02):
a fucking docum documentary series. It's a reality show. You're
making a reality show. There's no shame in that. We're
all for it. But I'm all for it. Maybe this
Netflix show will help ticket sales for Louise's arena tour,
especially if they like debut music on it, or create
music on it or who.
Speaker 1 (24:22):
Knows, Yeah, can hurt?
Speaker 2 (24:23):
Speaking of god, I went to the Virgin Hotels Las
Vegas on Saturday for my daughter's birthday dinner, and we
had an early dinner because we were going to the
Halloween Horror Unleashed afterwards. And at five pm, there was
like the longest line I've ever seen at that hotel
to get into the theater, and I was like, okay,
(24:45):
I could. I got a sense of who was performing
because all the girls look the same. They all had
their cowboy boots on, they had their denim dresses and
they're like cowboy hats, and like, who's performing here tonight?
And then it was this girl, Megan Morony, Like she's poppin'.
Speaker 1 (25:01):
I don't think I've ever heard of her Perez.
Speaker 2 (25:03):
She's a country artist, that's probably why. But she sold
out pretty big venue, like four thousand. She sold it out.
And not only that, but like people showed up four
hours early to get good spots. I'm like, that's somebody
I need to check out her music. Megan Maroney and also, God,
I'm so bummed Addison Ray continues to like build a
(25:24):
real fan base, like with all of these shows that
she's doing. And she even did a performance at the Grammy.
Did they have a Grammy Museum in New York City
as well?
Speaker 1 (25:33):
I know they have one in La out It. I
didn't know they had one in New York.
Speaker 2 (25:36):
Something Grammy related in New York. She performed at that
over the weekend, and like she's building a real fan base.
So very cool. And I like her album better than
the Tate McCrae album. I'm a fan of it, So
congrats and more music related news, Haley Williams, in interview
with The New York Times called out Morgan Wallin, explicitly
(25:57):
naming him as this racist cunt singer in one of
her songs. So far, Morgan Wallen has not responded. Also,
Jesse Smullett remember him? I said, no, there's like some
Jesse Smullett comeback happening. He's doing this, and he's doing that,
and he's doing the other. He just released a new album,
so I don't know. Everybody's entitled to a comeback.
Speaker 1 (26:20):
So I couldn't care less. I wouldn't be upset about it.
He wasted a lot of people's time.
Speaker 2 (26:26):
Yeah, Also, this was really cute. I sent you this.
I don't know if you saw it. Jack Black made
his TikTok debut in a TikTok video for his daughter
with his ex wife, that hot model chick, and he
was like lip syncing along to some song, like begrudgingly,
(26:46):
but he did it for his daughter. Thought it was
really sweet. It was very sweet. Also, some couple's news,
Lori Loughlin and her husband of about twenty eight years
have separated. Sucks for that.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
Yeah, that's that.
Speaker 2 (27:02):
But a reminder call us eight hundred seventy five. We'd
love your calls, and let's take some of the ones
that we do have. Now.
Speaker 1 (27:11):
Well, it's all Taylor Swift related. We did the Taylor
Swift Show on our Patreon and god, so many people
wanted to chime in. So let's listen to sadays.
Speaker 3 (27:19):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 4 (27:21):
I loved the Patreon episode about Taylor Swift's album Drop.
Speaker 3 (27:25):
I listened to the album and it was the first
thing I was looking for. I was so happy to
see inside my podcast app.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
You guys are the best.
Speaker 3 (27:31):
I loved being a Patreon subscriber.
Speaker 5 (27:35):
I went to the whatever was in.
Speaker 2 (27:37):
The theaters today and it was incredibly cocky.
Speaker 4 (27:41):
We just looked at pictures of Taylor Swift with the
album lyrics over top of it.
Speaker 2 (27:45):
For an hour and a half.
Speaker 1 (27:46):
Oh, that was awful.
Speaker 3 (27:48):
I of course did like.
Speaker 5 (27:49):
The music video at the end.
Speaker 2 (27:51):
That was good, but it was till minutes give it
to me on YouTube. It was just seemed like a
cash crap for Taylor Swist.
Speaker 1 (27:57):
Kellen didn't like the movie either. She thought it was
kind of a way to tell and she said that
her interview talking points were the exact talking points that
she's giving in the you know, limited interviews that she's doing,
and the phrasing is even exactly the same, Like it's
all very rehearsed and a little stiff. But she found
the theater thing to be pretty boring.
Speaker 2 (28:18):
Well, that's on, y'all. I knew that shit was going
to be boring.
Speaker 1 (28:21):
We said it was going to be.
Speaker 2 (28:23):
She literally told us what to expect and people still win.
So that's on you all.
Speaker 4 (28:29):
Booker Jessica from Chicago Game one listener Patreon subscriber, following
up on the bonus Patreon that you guys gave us
this week of.
Speaker 5 (28:38):
The album review. That was awesome. So three podcasts from
you guys this week. Appreciate it.
Speaker 4 (28:43):
Everyone needs to pay the five dollars for Patreon if
you haven't already.
Speaker 2 (28:47):
I'm with Perez on this.
Speaker 1 (28:49):
I loved it upon first listen.
Speaker 2 (28:50):
I like it even more with every next listen.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
Opalite is my favorite on the album.
Speaker 5 (28:56):
It's an absolute smash hit.
Speaker 2 (28:58):
Should have been a single, not her most profound album lyrically, but.
Speaker 1 (29:03):
I don't think every album has to be.
Speaker 5 (29:05):
I think people need to have a little fun.
Speaker 4 (29:08):
If I have to hear one more think piece from
a teamtop.
Speaker 5 (29:11):
Creator or a critic on how.
Speaker 2 (29:12):
Tonda for boring, I'm so over a.
Speaker 3 (29:16):
People just need to get back to having fun.
Speaker 5 (29:18):
So that I will say, it's gonna.
Speaker 4 (29:21):
Be interesting to see what happened with Jackson five. Obviously
that was a direct copy, and then the Jonahs Brothers
song was a pretty direct copy, so I'm gonna be.
Speaker 5 (29:29):
Really interested to see I see ends up crediting them.
Speaker 4 (29:31):
But that's it for me.
Speaker 3 (29:33):
Love the podcast.
Speaker 1 (29:34):
Thank you guys.
Speaker 5 (29:35):
Hi guys, It's Casey from Indiana, longtime listener, Patreon subscriber.
I love the Patreon exclusive this week about the Tarrist
List album.
Speaker 3 (29:47):
I am in my mid thirties. I'm actually exactly the
same age as Taylor. We're just a few months a part,
and I feel like this album spoke to me more
positively the first couple listens than the last several albums have.
So I'm here for this wife of a Showgirl.
Speaker 5 (30:03):
I'm actually going to see the theater production at the
Movie Theater tonight, so we'll see what that holds. I
have not seen too many spoilers about that, so I'm
excited to get with my friends to do that tonight.
Speaker 1 (30:14):
So thanks guys, and let's give you one more just
because we had so many.
Speaker 4 (30:19):
Hi guys. So this is Marilyn from Las Vegas, lonesome listener,
Patreon subscriber, ship on time caller for pus Perez. You're
tripping for thinking life of the show Girl is better
than Lover and midnights. You're a crazy girl. I've want
to disagree now for Booker, at the beginning of the bookcast,
(30:40):
he asked Perez if he wanted to know which song
was the best song and which song was your favorite song.
You say your favorite song was Life of a Showgirl,
but you never said which one was the best song.
Speaker 1 (30:53):
What's the best song from the album? I don't know
what changes for me. I think the obvious one is
it's the Wood song. It's just a good pop song.
I know it's kind of corny with the whole his
Wood as a song, it's a good song, you know.
Let's wrap it up.
Speaker 2 (31:09):
