Speaker 1 (00:04):
Hello, Puzzlers, Welcome to the Puzzler Podcast. The yodeling echo

(00:25):
of The Judy Show, Judy Gold.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Welcome, Judy, Thank you, thank you for having me. I
love your show. Longtime listener.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
At least since yes, first.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Time guest, our second time guest.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
Yes, well, we love having you. And I am actually
a longtime fan. That is no Lie Bank.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Oh, thank you, AJ Woll my pleasure.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
And I believe that you are not just familiar with Greg,
but I'm possibly even friends.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
We see each other family events.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Yeah, Judy likes and I love Greg's kids.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
I was gonna say Judy's really likes my kids. I'm
just she's just here because she likes my kids. Has
nothing to do with us. They're good kids. I like
your kids, Judy. It worked out all. Thank you, Thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
I appreciate that.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
Greg. Yeah, our kids are okay. I don't know about us,
but our kids are okay.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
But who the hell knows?

Speaker 3 (01:21):
Yeah right, well, look this is since I just spent
three minutes laughing while you guys recorded the previous episode.
This this puzzle is going to be all about comedy.
And what we've done is take right, why not? We've
taken the titles of some great comedy films and changed
one letter to make a new even better in our

(01:41):
opinion film. So we'll describe the new film and you
give us the title. Okay, So for example, I might
say Matthew Broderick plays hooky from school so he can
work as a towel boy at a local car wash.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Right, and I'm supposed to tell you the name of the.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
Yes and the example. It's the new film. So it's
based upon Ferris Paris dealers off.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
We got to change one letter, and I'm changing the
letter to represent a car wash or.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
A towel boy. What does the towel boy do with
the car wash? It would be Ferris Bueller's dry Off.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
I like AJ's episode better. I really, AJ is really
the premiere host on this uh show.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
I am not a chief puzzle.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
Drying off? Thank you, Greg.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
Okay, that one doesn't count, so we'll go for the
real one.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Now, was that supposed to be the easy one?

Speaker 3 (02:59):
That was just the example. That was just an example.
Now we're going to get Lindsay Loewen plays the new
swimmer in a School of teenaged Fish, where she is
ostracized by Rachel mccadams and her friends, who mock her
with their underwater breathing organs.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Mm hmm. Wow, Now I got to think of Lindsay
Lohan movies.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
This one is also a musical, right now, Yes.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Yes it is, and I know what the movie is,
and I okay, good, I'm gonna go with mean Gills.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Yes, very good. Oh my god, mean girls turned into mean.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
Gills, mean gills.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
It's like finding Nemo finds, you know, Tina Fey, and
it becomes this great I don't know.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
Yeah, that's very funny. You just took one letter out.
Actually you didn't add a letter.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Well, it depends on how you spell gill. I spell gill.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
Well, that's true because it has another l Okay, great, I.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
Don't mean you still like a j better. It's okay,
it's okay, all right.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
I listen every other day.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
Mel Brooks satirizes the Olympic table tennis circuit in this
film about a posse of fiery ping pong players. Mm hmmmmm,
fiery ping pong players.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Yeah, so I would I know it's I'm gonna go
with blazing paddles, and thank god, thank god you did
not mention pickleball because I hate.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
You said one quick follow up, why do you hate it?

Speaker 3 (04:53):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (04:54):
Okay, okay, So told the HBO HBO Sports did it
a whole episode because I have a house on Cape
Cod and they took the basketball courts which are about
seventy feet from my house and turned them into pickleball
courts and literally ruined my life. My neighbor was having

(05:18):
high blood pressure. The noise was, we couldn't open our windows.
It was awful, and we had to we literally we
had a fight. We had to go to town hall.
Finally they moved the courts. But you know, as Mary
Carillo and I have discussed, it takes years and years
and years to become a three point five tennis player,

(05:40):
and it takes forty minutes to become a three point
five pickleball player. So enjoy thinking you're a season athletes,
take care and enjoy it.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
What did it sound like?

Speaker 2 (05:51):
It just was like, oh my god, it's a whiffle
ball hitting a hard paddle, and then people screaming, yeah, all.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
Right, let me give you another one of these. Kristin
Wig and Maya Rudolph lead an ensemble cast of women
in this film about lesbian house cleaners who work only
during the month of June.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
I feel like you made this clue for me, and
if you're trying to out me as a lesbian greg
everyone already knows. Okay, I'm gonna go. So there are housecleaners.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
Who work during the month of June.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
Uh huh okay, So it's gonna be something pride YEP.
I wish I knew what film it was.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
The film is that Kristin Wig, Maya Rudolph, big ensemble
cast of women because they're all involved in a wedding.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Right. It was, Yes, and it was a very funny
movie and there were a lot of female comedians in
the movie. And it was called.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
The women who are at a wedding are called the Yes.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
I know what it's called.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
You got it.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
It's pride Maids Pride. You know what I was thinking.
I was literally thinking Maid's Pride, and then I don't know,
for some reason, prides Maids came.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
Came to there you go, and that's it. It's it's
Pridemaids based upon Bridesmaids up that's right, and Judy, all
these clues were made for you. No one else in
the world has done this puzzle.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
This is thank you all for you, oh Greg, thank you.
I feel special.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
All right. Let me give you one more uh, and
then we'll wrap this up, all right. Marissa Tomay and
Joe Peshy star in this hilarious legal comedy about a
second rate New York lawyer who finds himself thrust into
the limelight defending the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
So we have the Marissa Tomey Joe Peshi film.

Speaker 3 (08:07):
Uh, it's.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
I know what it is, and so it's my cousin,
uh and.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
I hate her so much I figured her name hate her.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
It's the character Jenny, my cousin, My cousin Jenny the Insurrectionist.
That's the full Yes, A lot of people don't know.
They just call it my cousin Jenny. And it's my
cousin Jenny in the insurrection with murder.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
It's perfect. Yeah, well done, well done, Judy, you got
them all.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Very impressive, very impressive. And I thought for a second
you were saying you hated Marissa Toomey, and I was like,
what's wrong with Marissa Tomey.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
No, I actually did a film with Melissa marissitome really
one and she was lovely. Yes, she came to me
which was had Pet Peter Dinklice and Marissa Tomay and
Anne Hathaway.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
Love it.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
Oh what a great cast.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
Like, yes, my scene was with Peter Dinkliche because I'm
six foot two when Peter dinklish is not.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
So it was like automatic comedy.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
Very good, all right, it's going on my next.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
God, he is one of the best. Truth, must have
been so great to.

Speaker 2 (09:29):
Work with it, right, Yeah, he was amazing.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
Aside from that movie, which I will be renting U
or even buying who knows.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
People can find you on your newly renamed podcast and
it's the Judeo Show or the Judy Show, or it's
Judy Show. It's the Judy Show, right, It's Judy Show,
It's Judy's Show, right, Okay, that's why I said it first,
and then my second guess myself, so I'm going to
say I was reading, well.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
Stop doing that, AJ because that doesn't help anyone.

Speaker 1 (10:04):
All right, you're right, you're right. Thank you for a
shaming me. Uh well, listen to that. It's very funny
and continue listening to our show. But before we go, Greg,
do you have an extra credit for the puzzlers at home?

Speaker 3 (10:23):
I do? I do. This is a John Chew film
set in Singapore during a wedding where many of the
attendees are actually insanely wealthy birds.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
Uh huh okay, insanely wealthy birds in Singapore. I'm looking
at the answer, so I'm not going to pretend I
don't know it.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
I actually don't know it, and I'm very happy that
I was not given that clue. So I find that
to be an annoying clue.

Speaker 1 (10:47):
Yeah, that's what I'm several times today, and.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
He says it's so matter of factly.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
Yeah, Well, come back tomorrow and we will let you know.
You don't have to, we'll tell you in the commercial break.
But for everyone else, come on back and we'll meet
you here tomorrow for more puzzling puzzles that will puzzle
you puzzlingly.

Speaker 3 (11:21):
Hey, puzzlers, this is Greg Pliska up from the Puzzle
Lab with the extra credit answer from our previous episode.
Judy Gold joined us and we played a puzzle. We
called all that Glitters, where every answer is a phrase
that has gold in it. Your extra credit clue was
this the level of quality of Judy's work to which
everyone else's is compared. That, of course, is the gold
