What of America?

Speaker 3 (00:35):
What's going on?

Speaker 4 (00:38):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (00:38):
Somebody said that they're rolling from Texas to be in
the box seats today, rolling down fifty nine. What the
hell box seats are back today? Clover, South Carolina says
we're ready. Boonville, Mississippi ready, Well, how about the Mobile

(01:01):

(02:05):
And we do have a lot to do. Uh, we
do have a lot to do. I mean when somebody's
already text Sam Royland fifty nine from Texas and the
Vox eas today huh, we hate everybody needs to give
a ton today. Are you all ready to give a ton?
We're ready. I know you're all ready to give a ton.

Speaker 5 (02:21):
Read.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
I know you got in that vacation mode last week.
You didn't, you know, but you guys, we got you
got to be ready to go to that.

Speaker 6 (02:29):
I'm gonna give so much. People are uncomfortable.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
Yeah, oh like speed Yeah, an be speeded. It was
one of the many Greg and give nothing that is
I'm gonna be Greg. As a matter of fact, I've
already been Greg my rumps already almost overs uh pardon
the bad breath. Uh. But anyway, So I love quoting
Greg's grandkids. And I know you speedy with with River

(02:55):
then you know they'll say anything. And then and Adler's
got young enough kids he's still getting these quotes and
is going to start cracking about as well. But when
when I saw the one of Greg's grandkids that started school, uh,
pistol pace Jones. When he went to his classroom, he said,
I'm gonna play so hard in here. Yeah, yeah, and

(03:18):
until it, but he didn't realize it would be longer
in church. Yeah, before he thought he was gonna be
there battle. I'm gonna play so hard in here. So
that's our attitude about this. We're gonna play so hardy.
We got Burgess Ball Battle coming up. So really, the
the old Will has been resting too. It was on
vacation Bill spend the day. I'm gonna add one to
the list. Uh.

Speaker 7 (03:38):
You know, we have grandkids that will say the darnedest
things and it's funny. I'm gonna add my cousin Lisa
to the list, who's an adult special needs and she'll
say some of the funniest things. And she's dead serious,
and you know she has she can get around, but
it's it's a tough time and it's always been that way.
And my my sister Lynn said what you never want

(04:01):
to hear, and that is it's picture time, you know.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
And everybody everybody's like, oh no, here we go, everybody
in the front look at it. Take another one.

Speaker 7 (04:08):
Yeah, So we we are going out to the front yard,
and of course she she wraps her on around on
my mind and I'm helping her through the grass to
get to this perfect tree that we got to stand
in front of, and and I said, hey, you read
you want to play some football? You know, to to
my cousin Lisa, who obviously can't. And she says, no,
my running days are over. And I thought, and my

(04:32):
dad got to laugh, and he goes, she's never ran
in her life. But she was dead serious. Hey, now
am I running?

Speaker 3 (04:38):
Days of row? When I played a little ball, I said,
so you want me to block for you?

Speaker 7 (04:44):
She just laughs and no, I'm not going to be
running today.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
But she's dead serious. Oh yeah, So I'm gonna add
her to the list. I'll let you know some well, please,
quotes from aunt Lisa would be great. Well, the the
other the other thing you you mentioned was the god
forsaken let's take pictures. Oh, I don't know how many people.
I don't know how many people end an up an
obscure island somewhere in the many islands of the Bahamas.

(05:10):
Can hear me? You know? I tried to let let
them know they should all be listening. And I'd like
to thank y'all yesterday for never quite getting that I
wasn't in Jamaica. I was in the Bahamas. But with
all your attempts at accents, But yeah, I had it.
I felt so bad for the people that work so
hard at these kind of resort areas where you go,

(05:30):
because I just wish I could apologize to every one
of them that Cherry would say, excuse me, could you
take our picture? And see they think they're gonna snap
one maybe and they're gonna get back to their lives. Greg,
you saw this happen when you and I went to
that ball I finally asked, asked Cherry for me, Please
don't ask that girl one more. No, just find somebody
else quit as the same one. Cherry thinks the random

(05:53):
person that she's just encountered our is working at the
place where we're eating where apparently she wants to get
a picture of us somehow. She thinks they're professional photographers
that we've hired. And I'm like, baby, this is just
a random person. Okay, no, no, no, now now turn the
camera this way, now try one with this way. Now
come in a little bit, back up, a little bit.

(06:14):
Just a random person, she's telling. And what's so bad
is every single person, like the person's the ball game
that night, Greg, they think this is going to be
something real quick, that's done, and they don't realize that
they're about to be hired out for for like a
full blown photo session. And if you walk away that
doesn't mean anything. Just come get you. Can we do
one more? Can we do one? No? No, I want

(06:35):
to say, back up, come in closer, but wow, woa whoa.
They have to look at it one hundred times. I
would say this and mean it. I don't care at
all what I look like in the picture. No, I
don't even look when it's over. I don't go see
what it looks like. I don't care at all. Just
let's be done. When I actually heard this one, why
while we were there, I'll be slightly off, Greg, No,
this happened that picture right there. That's what upsets me.

(06:58):
That right there will be perfect if you have your
shirt on wanted up and I said we might have
shirts watted up. She said, well, what's what with your shirt?
I said, I'm gonna tell you what you're seeing. That's
when you decided to come in there and wrap your
arm around me. And you pulled this in real close.
You pulled my shirt you know, yeah, yeah, well there
was the perfect shot. That's when I wanted Chris, now
you've got a wrinkled shirt. And I was like, it's

(07:19):
not wrinkled, it's just being pulled by you pulled it again,
and it makes no sense.

Speaker 7 (07:24):
Like so, so my sister Lynn wanted a little picture
with me and Mom and Dad and her, the four
of us. So Race was there, and Terry and then
my brother in law Mark. Well, they've got phones and
they you know, they're like, hey, I just want to
get for my dad's eighty fifth birthday. And they were
in pictures too, but I I want to get one
with you four. That's what you know, That's what Lynn

(07:44):
was saying, or us for And and so I'm just
standing there and I get Dad's head pointing the right way,
so he's not looking off to the left, right, and
and I'm like, they're right there, you know, right in
front of you. So I get us, I get his
head right, and he and I are just standing there
perfect and but and well.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
Let me see that. Well, Mom, why would he keep
looking down?

Speaker 7 (08:01):
And I'm thinking, and I now, how hard is it
to stand here and look forward and smile? Why, well,
your your eyes are looking down on that one. Oh,
I'm looking to the right on it.

Speaker 3 (08:11):
How hard is it? Just stand there and look forward.
Remember the day, Remember the good old days I like
to call them, Yes, where you had to get pictures
developed so they couldn't know. And then when you got developed,
then you had that discussion. But there was nothing they
could do about it, nothing, to be honest with you.
To me, that was the best. That was the best remembered.
Dad was bad about his thumb. If he's taking the picture, Mom,

(08:33):
you're blinking. Why you keep blinking to catch your eyes clothed? Well,
I missed the days where you couldn't have a meeting.
Polaroid was not a great looking when they take those
three fingers and they start bringing that picture on and
then it gets me with the women, and I know
we've talked about this, but this is, this is I
got to go back and revisit this. And all of
you out there, ladies, you know you do. It's like
they all get on the same page about the latest

(08:54):
thing that makes them look good in the picture, and
all of everyone's got their legs different ways turn Yeah,
I mean it's like I got to be on one side. No,
I got to be on the left, and I got
to be on the other side. They don't want to
be on the end. Nobody wants to be on the end.
And here's one you love. If you're in my situation.
Of course, Greg, you are too. How tall is Terry right?

(09:17):
Five eight? Okay, so you're not as bad? That's tall
that when when your wife is five foot one? Sure, hey,
when your wife's five foot one and you're like six
to one okay, and I got it five eight, So
you are so listen already the pictures, Yeah, the picture,
that's a picture problem. I mean, I'm a foot taller
than her, so that comes into play, you know, And

(09:38):
I'm just like baby, just I just wish we'd go
back to days where you had to develop them, so
that way we have to go through, yes, and remember
how fun it was, Like I said, we of course
we'd hurt our sister's feelings if we caught her in
a funny one, you know, to go through them and
point out whatever I was doing wrong. But you know what,
that was your picture, that's all you had. You'd go
ahead and put it in the funnel album. Anyway. The
worst one, we were going through the lobby where we

(09:58):
were staying, and I felt so bad for this guy.
He was busy, man, I mean he was like, I'm
the guy here at the actual whereby checks in. Everybody
comes here to find out where their golf cart is.
You know, I'm the guy that handles everything going on. Yeah,
and and and he said yes, thinking he would just
step away from his dank for just a minute. And

(10:19):
I just almost looked to him like I started shaking
him out. Don't know it, don't take it, hand it off.

Speaker 7 (10:23):
Somebody, don't get his captain Jack didn't take off his picture, O.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
Thing. You got that last time we took a picture.

Speaker 5 (10:33):
It was good.

Speaker 3 (10:34):
The husband had it because his wife was eating by
a shark. Soon after.

Speaker 8 (10:39):
The guy took your picture, was like, what love, He's
not get back to Jiman.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
Now, I wasn't in Jamaica. It was my Pama's like
everything gonna be all right? That what look, God, you
look right at me. It was not in Jamaica. It wasn't.

Speaker 5 (10:56):
He was the Rick Burgers Show, blood casting from the
real world, the Rick Butcher Show.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
Wait needed now more than ever, I mean needed now
more than ever. Glad to be here today, looking forward
to seeing box seats a little bit later on and
those you out there and enjoying another Burgess of All
battle coming up and we'll meet the folks as well.
So hanging there for that coming up a little bit

(11:37):
later on in the program today. Well, it's going to
be an active, active month coming up if you want
to find out more about it. Most of it revolving
around Themanchurch dot com. We've all been out and about
a good bit on some other things. But so coming
up this Friday night, the fifteenth, which, by the way,
is Sherry Burgess's birthday. Oh okay, we got a big

(11:58):
birthday coming up, so uh anyway, First Baptist Church, Alexander City,
all of you, they're listening at alex City. Doctor Gil
McKee will be there and on these others. Can I
ask I know we've been through this before. Georgia seems
to have a lot of different places that are hard
to pronounce and unless you're local, So I want to

(12:19):
talk to if you're if you're out there or familiar
with Georgia. See if I'm getting these right. Okay, So
it's down near Savannah, by the way, if you ever
bring up Savannah, Grey's want to tell you that he's
been there.

Speaker 9 (12:30):
I know.

Speaker 3 (12:31):
Yeah, Well, I love to talk about that he's been
to Savannah. Yeah, oh you talking about Savannah, and then
there he's off and running. This is near Savannah. It's
spelled r I N co o N. Is it Rencon
r i in Rencon Rencon.

Speaker 7 (12:48):
You know a friend of mine it goes to that
church and texted me and said he can't wait for
it all together?

Speaker 3 (12:53):
Or do I say wren Con? Do I say Rincon?
Or do I say wren Con. So it's on the
twenty third, I'll be it Wrincon or wrin Con Georgia
Church of God for their man r I N co
o N. Do you think it's Rincon or wren It's
not Wrenson wren sign uh. So that one you should

(13:14):
know that I know I shouldk. And then on the
twenty fourth Steve Wright is going to be and I
think I have this one right Ocilla, Georgia. It's it's rinking, rinking.
How do you know that? Because I googled it? Well,
what's google to you?

Speaker 7 (13:30):
The AI overview says that it sounds that you pronounce
it where it sounds like r I n k I
n Rencon Renkin.

Speaker 3 (13:38):
All right, so would it be like Lincoln? But rinking. Yeah,
just let it flow, rinking, rinking, rinking, and then the
other one on the twenty fourth. Oscilla's right, right, O
C I l l A. That's Ocilla right. So on
the twenty fourth Ocilla Baptist Church, Steve Wright from Team
Man Church will be speaking there for them and kicking

(13:59):
that off. And then on the twenty fourth, I also
be in Tuscaloosa with Wingo in the Gang down at
First Baptist Church, Tuscaloosa for their Next Man Church. So
there's a lot going on. We also have a new
forty week curriculum coming out this month as well. My goodness,
here's another one. Okay. Andy Blanks is going on the
twenty fourth to Nazareth Baptist Church in Rainsville, Alabama. Rains

(14:21):
We got a lot going on, all right. So Friday
night that's Rainsville. Yeah, I got that great.

Speaker 6 (14:27):
Friday night pouring rain, Friday Nightville.

Speaker 3 (14:30):
Friday Night, alex City. The twenty third Rencon Church of
God in Rincon, Georgia. Right God.

Speaker 7 (14:36):
Now they say it's a Spanish word, is pronounced Rencon. Okay,
so I don't know.

Speaker 3 (14:42):
We're gonna get nine. I love when people type it
like you can tell twenty fourth, twenty fourth. We got
three of them on the twenty fourth Oscilla, Georgia, Tuscaloosa, Alabama,
and Rainsville, Alabama.

Speaker 8 (14:53):
All Right, I found a Georgia real Estate Ladies video.

Speaker 3 (14:58):
Okay, he says, yeah. Here here you are thinking. I
think it's rinking.

Speaker 6 (15:04):
I think you're.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
Hockey about a community and rinking and drinking, drinking. We go.
It's like Lincoln Drinking. We did it. Drinking, we did it. Yeah,
like Rinking Park and Lincoln Park. Yes, okay, I mean.

Speaker 6 (15:17):
The band Lincoln Park.

Speaker 3 (15:18):
Okay, even the spelling. And you know I listened to
them a lot, so I don't think I've ever heard
one song from them. You probably have, Okay, it's not
really my thing. Speaking of songs, were talk you try.
We're gonna talk some music today. Ready, we're gonna talk
a little music today. We are gonna step out, hang

(15:41):
out with a golden ticket. And here's what gives me.
Somebody puts our our I c O N. Well, that
doesn't help me, That's what I'm saying now. The one
that helps me is rinking, like a like a skating rink. Yeah,
linking King Lincoln Rinking Rinking. We got it. I got Now.
You think I ain't ready to come to Rinking Georgia
of course, Why it's a long way. Yeah, it's a dandy. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (16:01):
I remember when Greg used to go to high school
football and on the other side of Georgia.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
Oh yeah, and when that came and you would always
forget how far? Yeah, in the traffic, yeah, and that
was always the best already about Atlanta through Atlanta, I
don't know Atlanta can well, I cannot go through Atlanta,
good luck. I think going through Atlanta is one of
the worst things ever. Oh yeah, it's far.

Speaker 7 (16:24):
When I went to go see Larry and Carolyn, that
was one of my options, was to go there, and
I was like, I can't do it, and so I
stopped just west of Atlanta and went around.

Speaker 8 (16:33):
Oh Rick, If you go through Atlanta, it says it
takes six hours. If you go south of Atlanta takes
it six hours and twenty two minutes.

Speaker 3 (16:44):
That sounds long. I thought it was like five Yeah,
yeah it was. And it's from we're talking about current
right now, right, I mean, come on, I don't go
for another week.

Speaker 6 (16:52):
There's through Atlanta six hours.

Speaker 3 (16:54):
There's a five fifty nine South one.

Speaker 6 (16:56):
Yeah, that's that's six hours, RII fifty nine six hours.

Speaker 3 (16:59):
I like seeing that. Five. Hey, you're kind of hey,
you're going right through. Stop and see you're going right through?

Speaker 8 (17:08):
You Rick, you could stop and see them in George Joblin.

Speaker 3 (17:14):
Right there, they could stop you. At the Loves uh
get there, sixteen them, I'm going by.

Speaker 6 (17:21):
You can go check out their patch collection.

Speaker 3 (17:24):
He takes things literally. If you say, if y'all keep
this up, I want you to know, well, I got
a situation. How about listen if let me tell you gracious,
let me tell you all this right now, you'll never
get there if y'all, if y'all go this far with it,
I want all of you to know, if y'all start
this lay thing, I'm gonna burn all your houses down.

Speaker 6 (17:44):
Okay, well that's fair.

Speaker 3 (17:48):
I had to do something desperate to stop it. Everybody
that was involved, and I know who you are. I
came home this what that was the trip? I was
on a trip down here?

Speaker 7 (18:04):
Yeah, it up, but you're you're literally there is a
Loves gas station right here that y'all could meet.

Speaker 6 (18:10):
At, because yeah, you could meet at a gas station.

Speaker 3 (18:13):
Yeah, that's where I bought got his cigarettes from. So anyway,
all that there and uh and ladies, there's something you

So thanks for all your help on those things involving
some dates coming up, and look forward to seeing all

then of course we have guys going out to these
other markets too that I mentioned so and then Sherry
going up to Testcumbia. Arch Manning, Hey, arch arch Manning. Look,

(22:56):
let's face it, football's almost here. We're getting kind of jacked. Yeah,
and Greg, you and I we talked about it. We
got to do better, man. What is our problem? We
hyped up that playoff system last year and didn't even
give it much. I don't know why. It just didn't.
I make you go on. I didn't like watching Indiana
play that one game, you know, I'm saying to apologize

(23:18):
to the entire state of Indiana. Yeah, just one. They're
one of those college teams that's lm IUR affiliate that's
got a lot of people who listened to the show
in Indiana. Just so you know, I'm just saying, Okay,
you didn't want to basketball, I guess, okay, but they're
coming in pre season number twenty? Did Greg get mad
at that? Did Greg just tell us that his whole
playoff experience was ruined by Indiana?

Speaker 7 (23:37):
Not really, but it was kind of when it got
down to the end, they with them, they created somehow
they're going with the highest rank now, which is what
it should have been, not just if you win the
conference you get it automatic by what. Now it's the
highest ranked, which is going to be good when it
gets down to the end, because to your point, you
had some that were higher ranked that had to play,

(23:58):
you know, and it was and others were getting buys
and you didn't like that. I didn't, So all right,
we'll have a better attitude about it.

Speaker 3 (24:05):
The Texas Longhorns with arch Manning now solid the starter
because you know quinn uh he says ewers yours always
struggle with his last name. He's he's gone if he
lived in rinkings with the Dolphins in his moment, Yeah,
not doing great. I don't think really not doing well.
Somebody made a statement because you know, everybody's breaking arts down,

(24:26):
they're going well. He couldn't even beat yours out and
you you weres it was just one preseason game. He
had a bad game. But that has nothing to do well.
Y'all said it yesterday, And I know it's uncomfortable to
Dolphin fans, but you need to be looking for who
might be a backup because two is not gonna make
through the season. He's not well. We say, we hope
he does. No, I hope he does, but I mean,

(24:46):
you guys, let's face it, that did sound kind of hey. Yeah,
I hope he does make it, but prone to injury.
History shows that he prone to injury. But we hope
he doesn't. Well, of course, I hope that he go
back to the you know, I still here in the
real world. Does arch Manning live up to the hype
as a college quarterback this year? With by the way,

(25:07):
the Longhorns are ranked number one? Is what I was
going to say. Arch Manning in Texas preseason number one.
First of all, do we believe in the Longhorns? Do
they beat Ohio State Week one? Yeah, that's a tough start.
That's a tough to play that in Ohio State's number three.
That's a tough start. Yeah, you'd like to ease into that.

(25:28):
Let me tell you something. And I don't like you.
I don't like Ohio State, never have, never will. But
y'all were the best team last year and you were
you were impressive. Yeah, and you you were a handful
hey as a good football team. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (25:43):
Your coach looked like an evil villain from Star Treks.

Speaker 3 (25:48):
And he's kicking off the hunger games. I get it.

Speaker 7 (25:50):
So if so, do you realize that in roughly three weekends, Okay,
you're going to have like Clemson and l s U
playing Texas and Ohio. I mean, and that's just the
name too. I mean you got others that you know,
other big games. But Greg, do you you remember rate?

Speaker 3 (26:06):
Goodness? That's going to be something now? I love it
when I'm playing the little Sisters of the poor. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (26:11):
And then and since you look like coach to bour now,
I will say this for you. You got Florida's state.

Speaker 3 (26:18):
That's right, but you never know what you got there,
all right, So do you remember this is gonna be
my new commitment. It sounds weird. I've got to make
this commitment. But you're in it too, Okay. It's our
attitude last year over college football was just terrible. It
really was. But but but I'm gonna say this and
then we go back. This happened so many, many many
years ago. She's actually the mother of two now Greg's daughter.
At one time used to be a little bit. She

(26:40):
pushed about me being around. She was I made her
she was little. I was a little much and Chandler
Rick came in hot. I came in hot, and I
would spook channel a little bit. And one day she
just came up to you and said she'd made the
commitment that she was going to give me a lot
the next time she saw me, that she was ending
all that. Yeah, and then from that day for it,
it was fine, you know what, But didn't she make

(27:00):
a declar said she was gonna hug you today because
Rick and I was coming up, and Tadler she would
run from him, right, And so she did, and from
ever since then she just declared it. So I'm gonna declare,
I'm gonna hug college football this year. I'm gonna stop
being I don't know what was wrong with me last year.
I don't know it was odd.

Speaker 6 (27:15):
I was trying to get you guys into it.

Speaker 3 (27:17):
I know how strange was that? Yes, yeah, and then
we weren't student drums, and then that we have that
week that gets us all mad what they call week zero,
you know, and and it's it's it's the week before
they really really really but you got some games, but
they'll start the twenty third of August stupid Friday night

(27:37):
games that don't I don't like that. Once again, Penn
State trying to get everybody excited, and they'll disappoint it
and now have a good decent record, but they will
not win. The b'll sit there at number two. We'll
be all impressed with how they play, and then they'll
just they'll they'll choke when it comes to their opportunity.

Speaker 4 (27:52):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (27:52):
And then you mentioned Ohio State's three. Already Clemson at four.
A lot of people, let me tell you, they're hyping
the the quarterback was his name? There we go again
for who Clemson. A lot of people think, they claim
he's the best college I mean, best quarterback in college
right now. I'm club nick, club nick yeah. Never one

(28:13):
that looks like a banker, okay, but club yeah. Quarterback
last year Georgia at number five looks kind of like
a I don't know, okay, nice But anyway, he's got
a lot of hyphened and you got some people that
are claiming the arch is overrated. And then but I
did that. I was telling Speedy I saw the other
day where his granddad said, no matter how his year ago,

(28:35):
he'll be back his senior year at Texas. In other words,
if he has a great year, he's still not going well,
that could change. Well, this goes back then again, he
can stay in Texas and make money. This goes back
to I think when you think about Arch Manning, I
do think in his situation. I don't know what's gonna
happen in the field, but I do think in his situation,
you have to feel pretty good because you look at

(28:59):
things like you just said, Greg, he has a great
foundation around him. He has a solid family, He's got
solid wisdom coming from everywhere. He seems to have a
pretty good head on the shoulder. Shoulder he plays hard,
he prepares well, makes a ton of money. Yeah, and look,
last two seasons are a prime example. Like I said,

(29:20):
anybody else with his hype and ability would have left. Yeah,
they wouldn't have played behind yours for two years. So
we will see. Uh, Georgia is sitting there at pre
season number number five. I'm sorry, number four. And of
course Georgia, I think, is always going to contend. Oh
you know, yeah, Kirby Schmarts good coach, great program, a

(29:41):
lot of great players. Then once again they always put
Oregon up there, so we can wait for them to
get beat by somebody really good. And Alabama is top
ten l s U and then Miami Florida. So there
you go.

Speaker 7 (29:56):
So on the thirtieth that Saturday, you know, you have
the early game, the eleven a m game. Uh, and
and that's going to be Texas Ohio State eleven AM
on Fox.

Speaker 3 (30:07):
I like eleven o'clock. But at the same time on ESPN,
Missispy State and Southern Mister playing watch out. Okay, I'll
stay gonna do this year. I don't know, well, you
never know.

Speaker 5 (30:17):
You never know.

Speaker 3 (30:18):
I don't even know who's coaching. I mean, you have
a completely their teams this movie. I don't know who
the coach. You're insulting me. No, I don't mean no,
he's looking for No, I'm actually looking for the two
thirty game. I have a I have a Missisipi State
graduate in my fami. I've spent a lot of time.
It's Alabama, Alabama Florida State. Is the two thirty game

(30:39):
that day? Yeah? Good day. Yeah, I pulled for Missippi State,
but I don't know who the coach is.

Speaker 5 (30:44):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (30:46):
The nine game, the six thirty game that day is
L s U Clempson. My goodness, that's gonna be quite
a day. Jeff Levy, Lebby, Lebby, Lebby Levy. I'm looking
at the schedule. I'm trying to find did you know
the head coach at mister state before he said it? Yes?

Speaker 6 (31:02):
Is it Levy or Leby?

Speaker 3 (31:04):
I thought it was Leeby. Get Where did he come from?
I don't know. He was at Oklahoma, right, he was
offensive coordinated there, and he was with at Ole Miss.
He wasn't o Miss. That's why then he went to
I think Oklahoma and then came here right, Okay, So
I'm committed that I'm gonna try to go all in.

(31:25):
I'm gonna try to ignore all this nil stuff. It's
hard and I'm just gonna look at uniforms and as
the names changed whatever, I'm gonna try to see good football.

Speaker 8 (31:35):
Somebody needs to tell arch Manning that we can see
his Venmo transaction.

Speaker 6 (31:39):
By the way, we can see what he calls me
careful what he's doing there on Venmo.

Speaker 5 (31:44):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the man who could
fix the entire commercial airline industry if they would only
give him a shot. Rick, butchest me.

Speaker 3 (32:05):
Shot at it, all right? So here we go running
down a lot today. Box seats coming up later on Urgus,
small battle coming up as well. All right, so a
couple of things. Adler just begin to shout out about
arch Manning's Venmo. I had no idea what you were

(32:26):
talking about. But you're you're saying some of his purchases
have become public. Is that what you're saying?

Speaker 6 (32:31):
Yeah, on Venmo?

Speaker 3 (32:32):
You can like Venmo. Okay, we'll get to that.

Speaker 6 (32:35):
Great hen I'm sorry, what now, buddy?

Speaker 3 (32:37):
What did you just say? What is Venmo? What is
n I never used it? Well, I'm about to go
back to the flip phone. Guys, I'm to that point.
I'm done with all this. I was nothing to do
with it. I'm in a waiting room and there's signs.
First of all, everywhere, do not have phones out. I
know those are kind of outdated and they left them
up the dogs, but everybody in there had their no

(33:00):
was stuck in their every ridiculous Wait.

Speaker 6 (33:02):
Wait does that have to do with it? Wait, there's
a sign that says no phones. There's a sign that
says no phones.

Speaker 3 (33:07):
Yeah, doctor's offices. What what do they mean by there
was a time? Man on yourself, I think those they
they did that and they just left the sign right.
There was a time when they worried about them interacting
with the medical equipment, like causing issues. Yeah for sure,
really but I think they that them, especially when they
put you back in the room. If you look, there's

(33:28):
a goes by it nobody, But are you doing a bit?
You really don't know what Venmo? I don't I know.
He's something. I guess you buy stuff with it. I
don't know. I've never used it, and I have no
desire to all. So, first of all, what what's arch Manning?
Before we get to what's Venmo?

Speaker 6 (33:42):
Arch Manning? Was well in Venmo. Well, we should explain
what venmo is. So Greg knows what I'm talking about.

Speaker 3 (33:48):
Well, I will, I will tell you call the internet, Greg, Yeah,
but I will tell I want to take the market
the beast. Go ahead, It's not my problem. Okay, there's
no mark. That's all about y'all heard of PayPal or
do you ever heard of that?

Speaker 9 (34:00):
No?

Speaker 3 (34:01):
No, what's that?

Speaker 6 (34:02):
Have you heard of YouTube?

Speaker 3 (34:03):
Okay?

Speaker 6 (34:03):
What YouTube is for videos? Venmo is for moneys?

Speaker 3 (34:08):
I knew it.

Speaker 6 (34:10):
But you can go you can basically can pay people
person to person.

Speaker 3 (34:15):
I've never used it, but I know what it is.
I've never used it, but I know what it is.

Speaker 6 (34:20):
Well, you can check wird.

Speaker 3 (34:21):
My wife use it with like when women do like
a bridle shower. Yes, and they'll be like, okay, venmo me,
what's your feeling? Yes, yes, but I don't do it. Yes.

Speaker 6 (34:30):
And you can have groups.

Speaker 8 (34:32):
If you've got to say a bunch of ladies are
putting together a bridle shower, then everybody can pitch in
and even you have like, you can have group.

Speaker 3 (34:39):
By the way it happened, it happened in the Bahamas.
We went on like a little excursion thing and pretty
rough moment when we realized that the person wanted straight
cash homie and I was like, wait, well I don't
have that much cash on me. And then they're like,
I said, I've got obviously I have a card. No,
we don't really do a card. And I'm like, well,
and all I thought of is we saw everything we're
supposed to see. Let's right, what are they going to do? Memories?

(35:03):
But then then Sherry said you want me, you can
I venmo you. And then of course then the one
was like, well, yeah, of course, and all I can
think about is now everybody has our account. The woman
was like that that's ir Yeah. I mean in Jamaica,
woman ain't no ting like a chicken wing.

Speaker 8 (35:19):
That is.

Speaker 3 (35:22):
Yeah. So back back to ros. It's a way to
buy and and pay people and all that kind of stuff.

Speaker 7 (35:30):
And so you got, you got cash out, you got
you got, you got venmo, you got all these.

Speaker 3 (35:37):
Kind of things to do. But if you ever friends
with somebody or you're you're in that network, when you
go to pay them whatever, you can see a lot
of times what they've been doing, Like you know, like
I paid Greg, you know, five dollars because he bought
me something at the the you know, the machine or something.
You guys you think speedy don't know about venmo. And

(35:59):
so if you've ever been a parent on a team
utilities as much, y'all better pay me back. Yeah, and
so it.

Speaker 7 (36:10):
But let's say you have a house like uh the
boys did at ua H and you've got four you've
got four roommates of total, and then you got parents
like we had internet and everything in our name, and
and another family had you know, utilities in their name whatever. Well,
every month you know that the bill comes in and
we paid it, and then they would venmo be their

(36:32):
their their portion, and then you can take venmo and
then deposit it into your account, your your banking account
or whatever it came out. So it's a way of
of of paying people and and also selling things. When
you go to to uh on the internet and buy
things sometimes pay options. Venmo's down there where you could
pay for something.

Speaker 3 (36:50):
Huh, don't use it. I don't use it either.

Speaker 7 (36:53):
So you can, I guess you can. You can see
what arch Manning has bought. I guess if your friends.

Speaker 3 (36:59):
So there's our Johnny, y'all just told me it was
secure and we know what arch Manning is buying.

Speaker 8 (37:03):
Venmo is trying to do like the social media aspect
of it. They're trying to make it like a social
media news feed or whatever. You can see, like, so
somebody gave a thumbs up for somebody's birthday, you know
how you can see that on social media.

Speaker 3 (37:17):
Is trying to do that.

Speaker 6 (37:18):
But you can uncheck that box. I unchecked that box because.

Speaker 5 (37:21):
I don't know that's that.

Speaker 3 (37:22):
That to me is what we.

Speaker 6 (37:25):
Venmos peer to peer payments are very smooth and easily done.

Speaker 10 (37:29):
This women's underwear, well you can you can see Rick
got you. You can see the amount off at.

Speaker 8 (37:41):
If you want, or you can not see the amount,
or you cannot see the description, or you can see
the description on arch So that's the whole point.

Speaker 3 (37:50):
Of the story.

Speaker 6 (37:51):
Arch Manning.

Speaker 3 (37:52):
Who's Arch Manning?

Speaker 6 (37:56):
Okay, hate Manning?

Speaker 3 (37:59):
So what was arch by and just got her by stirred?

Speaker 8 (38:01):
Well he he It wasn't what he was buying. It's
what he was describing it as. And I'll just put
it on the screen behind you.

Speaker 11 (38:09):
Guys.

Speaker 8 (38:09):
Some of them are normal like food, and some just
say thanks, some say book it, some other some say
weird things. Like that's that's just but that said butt stuff,
and so in that maybe just snroid that one just
says but.

Speaker 7 (38:30):
You can see that, right wow, So he may never
go again, he doesn't say, but you can block those
as he was saying, I don't know available, yeah.

Speaker 3 (38:42):
I don't. And then your money if if you want to,
like say, say you sell the devil and do that,
that's fine, right, but there's no reason for them to
have that if you spell vinmo.

Speaker 7 (38:51):
The way was originally six letters rick personal trainers, uh landscapers.

Speaker 3 (38:57):
A lot of a lot of times.

Speaker 7 (38:58):
A lot of times that's how they receive pay instead
of like hey, instead of uh hey, write me a
check or something, there's just venmo me something. But the
I r S cracked down on venmo uh years ago
because people weren't reporting their their their income.

Speaker 3 (39:16):
And so another way to be get paid in case.

Speaker 7 (39:19):
And so there's options on the business side, or sharing
money through friends. And so you always want to share
money through friends because if you bought me something, I'm
just paying you back.

Speaker 3 (39:28):
You're not earning money from me. I'm just paying you back.

Speaker 7 (39:31):
And so there's and there's probably safer ways with Zell
and others to to interact and send money back and forth.

Speaker 3 (39:38):
I got, I got all that. I don't understand why
anybody want their transactions to be public and you can
take that off. That doesn't make any sense. I totally agree,
But a lot of times and arch manning of all
people I think would hit the privacy set, especially if
it's butt stove on it.

Speaker 6 (39:55):
You're doing that, yes, so make sure we're making public.

Speaker 3 (40:04):
And the gonna imagine the signs of the stands this year.
People are opposing things, are gonna be holding.

Speaker 9 (40:10):
Up at him.

Speaker 5 (40:10):
Oh sure, yeah, sure, And.

Speaker 3 (40:13):
What if you found out it was just him sending
some money to his center, right yeah. Top of the hour.

Speaker 5 (40:22):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 12 (40:30):
Welcome to the Rick Birch Show, Broadcasting from the Real
World with Speedy Gregg Addlering, Rick Burgess, Book Up, America's Time.

Speaker 3 (40:41):
Pull the Show. Welcome to the Rig.

Speaker 12 (40:46):

Rick Burgess, book up from America's Time Pull the Show.

Speaker 3 (40:55):
Let's go America Brandy Hour. Thank you for being with us.
Box seats coming up later, unscreen phone calls coming up.

Speaker 6 (41:04):
To Welcome to The Rick Burgess Shows.

Speaker 3 (41:07):
Got some hay birds hay birds today, and we're also
breaking down the stories of the day starting this hour.
I'm kind of I'm kind of with the people that
were shocked. You know, we had the headline yesterday. We
didn't get to it, but it's it's still in the
news today that AOL discontinues dial up internet, and people

(41:30):
are kind of like me. They're like, didn't even know
that was still a round and the fact they're just
now discontinuing it. Do y'all remember dial up? Yeah? I had.
I mean, we were one of the last people to
get the internet where I live. Took them a minute.
I played the sound for Greg. Do you remember what
it sounded like?

Speaker 7 (41:46):
I do?

Speaker 3 (41:47):
I do, Yeah, I remember that. I remember this. Yeah. Yeah,
some of you too young to remember.

Speaker 13 (41:58):
This, but there it is.

Speaker 3 (41:59):
That's it. There it is. Smile good God, turn that down.
I so remember that. You remember waiting for it to connect?
Your's a come on, come on? Yeah, you might not
be in a hurry. No, h sol ao L discontinues it.

(42:19):
I had no idea. It was still a little late
to the party. It was still using it. AOL. Is
that America Online. Is that what it stands for? Yeah, okay,
you don't know, Greg, what you do on comedy that's
what that's what it is. You've got mail, You've got mail.
But hey, in the early nineteen nineties, that was it.
So it says that I'm trying to look to see

(42:42):
who is who would still need it. It said that
the percentages are pretty low. It says many of the
AOL customers were still subscribed to the dial up service
uh and stuck with it out of necessity. But it
says they're not the only provider if you still need

(43:04):
it now, an estimated twenty two point three percent of
Americans in rural areas and twenty seven point seven of
America's Americans and tribal lands still still lack access to
high speed internet. And it says now when when you
get to urban areas, it really goes down. Only one

(43:28):
point five percent of Americans have this issue. If you
if you live in a city area.

Speaker 7 (43:32):
Well, Greg, I remember when you first joined the show.
You were you were in a buying sometimes has it
been how long has it been because I remember early
on or it was before I just remember having a
conversation with you that you had still had dialog.

Speaker 3 (43:44):
Oh yeah, I can remember having to hook into the
here well the other studio, yeah right, and it took forever, yeah,
and it would pull up the screen. But I remember
the day you had you had it your house and
you're like that long ago. No, I mean it's long,
but I'm sure in my mind, but I mean, yeah,
out there, they're getting good about it. Most of the

(44:04):
rural areas are there. Like I wick at the farm
and y'all didn't have it. Now you got to go
what we do now. It's really good. Matter of fact,
I will tell you that the high speed internet that
we have at the farm is better than when I
have on. Yeah, it's good. It's fast. Man. Let me
tell you that Leon Musk, he's turned it around to you.
There was a company that came out there and built

(44:25):
a tower and tried this and they picked a few
houses and I was one of them to try it
out and it never well.

Speaker 7 (44:33):
Larry and Carolyn don't even have internet because when I
went to that that was an issue. I had to
take the hot spot with me, if you remember, uh,
and they just go off data on their phone.

Speaker 3 (44:43):
Really, they don't have it. Remember a lot of people
do that. You know, I actually upgraded the speed that
are actually fixed it at our house. Rick. Yeah, you
didn't fix anything. They sent me something and said we
now are even going faster. You just changed out modems, buddy,
is all you did?

Speaker 9 (45:00):
Well?

Speaker 3 (45:01):
Did it? Did it change? And has it been fixed? Yes?
They just gave you an updated modem and you just
hooked it up.

Speaker 6 (45:08):
You're a hacker.

Speaker 3 (45:10):
Yeah, Now you're your computer the main frame right now
on the geek Squad. I'm in, that's right, I mean
I'm in. I went through the back door. Can I
tell you what's funny? Can I tell you what's funny?
That that's from More Games City is great? But listen
from you're just joining us More Game Joshua. I should

(45:38):
have I should have clicked private on my my Vendo.

Speaker 12 (45:40):
Yeah, but.

Speaker 3 (45:43):
Listen, listen, Joshua. Is this today the day we're in?
You know, I think you know our whole deal moving
around the middle of the night, which is weird. I
don't know, it's weird when these things happen. This day
we're in right now, this but right now where it's
really not officially day. Yeah, yeah, this day we're in
right now. I walked in, you know, And what I

(46:04):
always do is when I get up, you know, I
start looking. And of course, you know, anybody that needs
me I would have heard from. But you always check
to see if anything developed, you know, on your phone.
And I look down and it says, do you want
to use cell data? You know, internet and not available?
And I went, huh, and I'm look And then I
go over to to look at one of the little

(46:24):
things you know that you have in your house, not
the main modem, but the little jumpers, you know, the
little bottle tiny boosted up get and and it was extender. Yeah,
and it was red, which means in the internet wouldn't
working at the house. And I thought, and I thought, huh, gus, guys,
I'm not making this up. I walk away, go over

(46:46):
to the refrigerator to get me some orange juice or something,
you know, and get ready to do my field of
greens and all that. And I walk back over there
and now it's going. There was just this little it
was just a little moment where claim you fix it? Yeah?
He walked by it, and I went and got arms, well,
pretty much like this, and the bullet eyed the plug
put it back in everything that always worked went in

(47:08):
doubt reboot. By the way, you wouldn't believe the number
of times the reboot has solved all the problems. Oh yeah,
oh yeah, I mean every single time.

Speaker 6 (47:16):
It's called a power cycle.

Speaker 8 (47:17):
If you want to say that in the future and
sounds smart. Turning it off and turning it back on.
It's called a power cycle.

Speaker 6 (47:22):
And you sound really smart when you say it.

Speaker 5 (47:24):
Really Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (47:25):
Those of us inside that you know are kind of
you know, hikers and things like that. We don't use
that phraseymore low outdated. Oh the old way. Yeah, so good. Now, So, anyway,
AOL has discontinued dial up. Is there anybody that hears
or sees us right now? Yes? That still uses Yes,
this person right here on text Nation from Florida, from Florida.

Speaker 7 (47:47):
Okay, we still use AOL for our longtime friend, family
and home email.

Speaker 3 (47:54):
Oh well, that's that's different talking about dial up.

Speaker 6 (47:58):
Yeah, no, I know people still have at AOL dot
com email.

Speaker 3 (48:01):
Mom still has bail sound, Yes she does. Yeah, my
mom has the oldest email address I've ever do You.

Speaker 6 (48:07):
Still get on the internet by hearing, we're not we're.

Speaker 3 (48:14):
Not talking about We're not talking about ao L completely.
Of course, I didn't know they existed anymore. We're talking
about the dollar. That's the bigger story today is that
it's still around.

Speaker 8 (48:24):
It's like the way, yes, we all got on the
internet that way. You ever pick up the phone while
somebody's trying to be on the Internet, and it's like
and then you mess up the person's Internet connection?

Speaker 6 (48:38):
Crazy crazy time.

Speaker 7 (48:42):
I was going to go to the Apple Store and
I was going to like maybe schedule an appointment to
speak to one of their genius on the counter, the
genius count or whatever.

Speaker 3 (48:49):
Could I could? I just could, I just could. At
I'm sitting round here. As a matter of fact, you
want to handle the tune in, I'll take that one
charge free of charge.

Speaker 6 (48:58):
By the way, genius bar, little wild little uppity.

Speaker 3 (49:02):
Yeah, I met some of them. I don't think they're geniuses.
I don't. I don't like going into that place, more
like the gotta have you act together. Let me tell you,
if you do stuff in order. If you go in there,
you better be toting some you better be toting some
kind of cash, and you better be patient. Yeah right,

(49:23):
you get you know you can't you can't go into
the Apple store. If you need anything done, you're not
coming out of there with that spending money, no way. Yeah,
I mean, I mean things like you know the thing
and I look, I regret you like I applaud them,
like things like just the thing to charge your phone
at home and in the car, not just at home,
not just in the car. If you getting a new phone,

(49:44):
you got to get new those two. That's how you
get you your car. Can no longer charge that phone, No,
not with what you have it not back this at
home if you want to plug it in. Not but
you can't plug that one. You can't do it. You
got the cord, but you need the block.

Speaker 8 (49:56):
Right block is the block by itself on the Apple
website is twenty bucks.

Speaker 3 (50:01):
Unbelievable for this time, and they may it properate.

Speaker 6 (50:06):
Ten cents and they're selling it for twenty bucks.

Speaker 3 (50:09):
Yeah, if you want the mag say, if you guys, you.

Speaker 6 (50:11):
Have you know, yes, the mag sick charger. That's fifty
bucks charger. Watch fifty bucks for the chargers.

Speaker 3 (50:18):
Here's somebody said, I'm watching on starlink right now in
rural America. Starlink. It's good. We'll be back. Let me
tell you, Leon Musk he's changing me. I can see
my Western show. I mean wall to wall three chap out.

Speaker 5 (50:31):

(50:54):

Speaker 3 (51:00):
Thanks for being with us today, America. What a text nation.
You're right. AOL at one time was so big they
actually owned the Atlanta Braids in the Atlanta Hawks. Do
you remember when they bought Turner.

Speaker 4 (51:11):
And all that?

Speaker 3 (51:12):
You know they were? They were huge, That's how big
they were. Wow, working our way back. Thank you for
being with us. I know a lot of you out there.

going to say, speedy. I know we make fun of
these national this day, national that day, but you said
today special. It is special, and I wanted to just
wait about ten different things. I just wanted to look
at Greg. You're looking at me, buddy, I'm looking happy

(53:12):
National middle child day. Oh I know you love things
like this. Yeah, you're being the middle child buddy. Oh yeah,
this is my day. It's your day. Man, you feel different? No, no,
happy middle child, happy middle child? What was it like
being a middle child? It's really no different, I don't think.
I mean everybody, I don't know. You want to talk

(53:34):
about it? Break it? I mean, how does it make
you feel? Has it affected your feelings? Don't even I've
never really noticed it make you feel weird? You had
an older sibling, had a younger sibling, kind of trapped
in the middle, not.

Speaker 6 (53:48):
The first, not the not the baby.

Speaker 3 (53:51):
Yeah, to the left of me, and you do the
right here.

Speaker 2 (53:54):
I am still.

Speaker 3 (53:57):
I think if you were, like if I had an
older sibling then was like five to ten years older
than me, and a younger wan that was five to
ten years younger than it might feel weird. But me
and you were less than two years of part in age,
and make you like short tempered, irritated on life things.

Speaker 6 (54:11):
Yeah, you were first overall.

Speaker 3 (54:15):
No, I mean because of that I got on my
nerves no matter how old you were, that's all right,
it's yeah, that's his stupid There's been no effect on Greg.

(54:36):
I'll tell you one thing. He got his hair like
he liked it. He did enough for national middle happened?

Speaker 2 (54:42):
Is that what it is?

Speaker 3 (54:43):
You've got a national national middle killed that he kept cut.
What you're gonna do with this hair?

Speaker 7 (54:50):
It says here to observe National middle child days, recognize
the sibling in the middle.

Speaker 3 (54:56):
Yeah, yes, I will. I can't speak for angis, but
I will. They say Greg that you're the meat of
your family sandwich. I don't know if I like that.
Good night to the meat of the same.

Speaker 7 (55:07):
You're the meat, Greg says, if you're a middle child,
celebrate your position in the family. Keep all middle children
uh in mind today, be gentle, happy middle child day.

Speaker 3 (55:20):
Greg said, some.

Speaker 7 (55:21):
Things you can celebrate make uh make their favorite homemade
dish and bite them over.

Speaker 3 (55:26):
Rick well, Rick, what time we eat? Well? I think
you know, like the rest of us were eating somewhere
around three forty five. We're done. Send a card and
share a memory of them. What's a good memory of Greg?
Good memory of Greg? A good one?

Speaker 5 (55:43):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (55:43):
Good one? Not when he got the baseball bat hit
you over the head right about the time hitting with
the baseball. Right, there's the time that we fought between
first and second base during an actual game. Yeah, we did.
We fought each other trying to be bat boys for dead.
Sorry we're very young. That poorly that went poorly fan
from it completely banned, you know. Uh, I will tell you.

(56:06):
There's there's so many special times I've had a greg
I can't well, you've told most of them. Probably. It
says here, invite your middle child over for coffee. Okay,
call your middle child to find out about that. Call
my middle child or my siblings, call your middle child.
I guess your parents here. These are just things to
recognize the middle like, uh, take a walk with your

(56:33):
after work. Let's get on the sidewalk, throw a frisbee,
or do their favorite activity. What's your favorite activity? I
don't know. Favorite activity is for no one to bother. Okay, ye,
playing card or a board game with your with you
just don't make it. Apples and apples yeah, oh gosh,

(56:53):
I agree with dad on that. Boy, what a dumb
game the apples to apples? Yeah? Whatever.

Speaker 7 (56:59):
If your middle child has a middle child suggests they
do things together today, oh not least post a social message.

Speaker 3 (57:07):
Okay, yeah, that that I'm really count on that. All right,
So let me let me with his haircut to me
how this works, because that's I don't know Greg and
and my sister, it's it's straightforward. You got me, you
got Greg, you got her. So he's clearly middle. But
when you're like me with like five, who's the middle?
Is the middle? Oh? Who's the middle point?

Speaker 4 (57:29):
You know?

Speaker 3 (57:30):
If you have four? If you if you have five,
I would call three probably the Really you just recognize
the oldest and the youngest, and everybody else is kind.

Speaker 6 (57:39):
Of everybody else is the middle?

Speaker 7 (57:41):
Yeah, two, three and four all middle?

Speaker 3 (57:44):
Yeah, I guess so.

Speaker 6 (57:47):
But hey, when there's three, Yeah, when you're the oldest,
you're special. And when they're you're the youngest, you're the baby.
Everybody loves the baby.

Speaker 3 (57:55):
You think that, uh Rick, is my car gonna be
in the mailbox when I get home when you sent me? Yeah,
I'm gonna send your guarden. I'm gonna say, let me
tell you something, how you've been. I just loved you
to day much and I still love you, and uh
and I wish that we both still had twin beds
in that little bee room. Yep. Yeah, I like to see.
I wish the body slam each other and it would

(58:16):
break the plank under it. And for the show today,
I'd like to look out there.

Speaker 7 (58:20):
I know you got a podcast to do, Rick, but
at some point just look out this big, this big
parking lot and just see I'll.

Speaker 3 (58:27):
Go for a walk together. You think holding hands a
little much? Yeah, just talking, just talked about talk about
life and and and what you love about it. Oh great,
you know what we'll do for for for our middle
child today? Just anything Greg needs or wants today, it's on.
It's it's it's done. Hey, hey, somebody bring a fred
or eat it Greg. Greg, let me tell you what
I was gonna do for your birthday. I was going
to venmo your little something. I wish you just a

(58:49):
little bit of cat.

Speaker 6 (58:55):
We can have a catch, Greg, if you want to
have a catch.

Speaker 3 (58:57):
Yeah, you're you a middle kid.

Speaker 2 (59:00):
I guess so.

Speaker 8 (59:01):
But there's four I've got ten year gap between the
next one. So I was a lot of ways the
older older.

Speaker 3 (59:07):
Yeah, that's changing.

Speaker 6 (59:09):
If you're changing diaper.

Speaker 5 (59:12):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. It's time for unscreened
phone calls. Call No. One eight eight eight six, Big

(59:32):
bucks and get on the show.

Speaker 3 (59:34):
All right, So there we go. We're gonna open it
up for the first time today on unscreened phone calls.
This has become now the preferred way on The Rick
Burgess Show to do phones. It really has turned out
to be much better. Uh, you get a lot more
people in. It's crazy, unpredictable, crazy unpredictable, but also kind

(59:55):
of gives us the right to kind of just be
done with the call. We think it's kind of nowhere,
it's run its course, or there's some attempt to take
us somewhere we don't want to go. Uh So if
you want to get in, now's the time to do it.
The number is eight eight eight, So the number six
big vox, as ken Osborn has just told you. And
then if you call right now and you hear it ringing,

(01:00:19):
that means you're in. Uh, we see you, and you
just got to hang in there and we'll run through
them on rapid fire. People are asking to like, if
you have triplets, is like the child that was born second?
Is that a middle child? I guess, I mean it's
kind of weird.

Speaker 10 (01:00:37):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:00:37):
To the phones, we go, Hello, You're on the Rick
Burgess Show. Unscreen phone calls, go ahead, Yes, you're on
the show. Go right ahead, ma'am.

Speaker 2 (01:00:49):
I'm so fired up right now, okay.

Speaker 3 (01:00:54):
Drop back like we got last night? Did get some
rain work? Okay? All right, you let me take something shirt?
Can I tell something about you? That was it? That's
only one. But you know what, I like a fellow
like that. If that's all it takes to get him
that fired up, he must be easy to please. Yeah. Okay,
I'm not sure i'd call about it, but yeah, welcome

(01:01:15):
to the show. Unscreen phone calls, You're on the Rick
Birders show.

Speaker 14 (01:01:17):
Go ahead, Herriet, there's a talents from dos And how's
it going.

Speaker 3 (01:01:22):
We're good, timas hope you're well.

Speaker 5 (01:01:25):
I'm good.

Speaker 14 (01:01:26):
You may have heard about this, but I found another
new book that I think everybody will like. It's called
The Bandana Express by Jeremy Haymore. And this is a
true football story in the manor of Woodlawn or remember
the Titans. It's about the Giles High School, you know,

(01:01:48):
the Giles Spartans of nineteen eighty And there was a
the best I can tell, there was a there was
a player that there was one player that wore a
red bandana and something happened in the city, and the
the school revolt really rallied around him, And there's a
lot of subplots to The book was just released a
couple of weeks ago, and it's in my my Amazon

(01:02:08):
que already, but it's I'm sure it's available wherever fine
books are sold.

Speaker 3 (01:02:12):
Okay, I'm sorry, but I probably read I would, I'd
probably ready say that you're telling me football book. You're
telling you going to read a football book about a
kid who played who were red Ben. There's going to
be more too, because I got to warn you there's
gotta be more. Got to warn you. It means the
community's gonna start wearing red bandanas and all that. And

(01:02:34):
I'm not sure that's I'm not sure that's you Greg right.
Maybe because it's Middle Child Day, you've got an open mind,
but I don't know. I think you're going to demand
a little more from that book. You probably he didn't
explain it. How does Thomas know about it? Well that
surely there's more to it than the guy wears the
red bend.

Speaker 6 (01:02:54):
It's a fractured community. Guys around the team.

Speaker 3 (01:02:59):
Let me guess the football team brings everybody together.

Speaker 8 (01:03:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:03:02):
In the end. Have y'all watched any given Saturday.

Speaker 6 (01:03:05):
I've watched two Sunday Saturday.

Speaker 3 (01:03:07):
No, sec, I haven't seen it yet. I've seen two episodes.
Any good? Yeah, because I forgot all about it? Is
it good? It's well done? Okay? Wow? So I got
I got quarterback, I've got hard knocks and now.

Speaker 6 (01:03:19):
I got that, and you got the FDA Express.

Speaker 3 (01:03:22):
Yeah. If, of course, if I can get Shary to
watch anything other than the New Leanne Morgan Show on Netflix,
I'd like to see it. And that's funny too. Funny's
funny show. The only thing about shows like this the
football I'm back to it is this last year, so
you kind of know what happens. Okay, but Bobby, No,
I mean I'm used to it when you do. You know,
every everyone's like that, the Formula one things that way.

(01:03:43):
Would you be open to somebody daring to go, let's
just go week by week and we're trying to get
them edited and try and release them. Be tough, it'd
be too tough? Is well done? We continue on screen
phone calls. You're on the Rick Burgers Show. Go ahead?

Speaker 2 (01:03:56):
Oh yeah, I was wondering if y'all got a new partnership,
but go or something, because I heard.

Speaker 13 (01:04:01):
More Spanish ad braces while y'all were gone than I.

Speaker 3 (01:04:04):
Ever had on here. Well, you know what, I I
don't know that yet. That would be something that just
runs national. But I'll take that de naro, I got
no problem with that. We'll continue. Hello, Welcome to the
Rick Burgers Show. On screen, phone calls go.

Speaker 13 (01:04:16):

Principal of a middle school, and.

Speaker 13 (01:04:23):
So this summer, some of our students, for our young men,
forgot that they had locked into their account, and so
we get these alerts for alarming things. And let me
tell you this, a seventh grade boy, it's worth a
buck to get the Venmo his buddies and put in
the title what he's paying for? Yes, somebody, and this

(01:04:43):
would this would go all night long, and there was
lots of lots of references that what I called home.
I said, I wish you could check your Venmo accounts,
because you're they would. It's worth a dollar trading back
and forth all night. Here's what I'm paying for, Here's
what you're paying for. It was tough man, tough conversations.

Speaker 3 (01:04:59):
Yeah, I I bet it is. And I noticed can't
I for my friend? Somebody was putting on the text option, like,
couldn't I label anything going to my friend? Pretend it's Yeah,
there was.

Speaker 13 (01:05:13):
There was a lot of mom and sister stuff on there.

Speaker 2 (01:05:15):
Let me tell you, right, you can put.

Speaker 3 (01:05:17):
Whatever you want. Well, that takes your mama jokes to
a place we should not go. You have a little
thing where you can put what ye somebody on textuff? Yeah,
something on text somehow text Nation said their friend sent
them money they owed them and put under the title
lap dance. Uh huh, And I think what that's what
art was.

world a little bit today. It's a little bit of

(01:10:48):
a deep dive. We'll do that before we're done today too.
And those of you that think we exaggerate when we
say that every single day that we are in touch
with the world. We talk to society every day, and
what do we always tell you you should be gravely concerned.
And if unscreen phone calls hasn't convinced you of that,
I don't know what else will. Yeah. So so there
you go. We'll try to get maybe at least one

(01:11:10):
more in before the day is done. A couple of things. Uh, now,
speedy eye, this is a little bit awkward for us
because I feel like that you're maybe trying too hard
to fit in and the music stuff. Now, you can
bring music questions up, right, It's all right, man, I
mean we don't. We don't. We don't look down on
you and I mean, yeah, we don't. We try not

(01:11:33):
to get too deep into, you know, into the weeds
right when talking about music when you're here. But but
I notice you've really been putting an effort in lately
to bring some music topics in.

Speaker 9 (01:11:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (01:11:44):
Well, anytime Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers now brought up,
I know I can bring it up because you go
all of its correct is correct? Have you seen the
documentary Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Running Down to Dreams
Very Long?

Speaker 3 (01:11:56):
Okay?

Speaker 7 (01:11:57):
In that documentary, they revealed how many times it took
for them to make refugee one of their songs perfect
in their opinion.

Speaker 3 (01:12:05):
Jimmy, I mean was talking about didn he produce it?

Speaker 7 (01:12:08):
Yeah, yeah, yes he did, he did, and he talks
about it in the documentary and all this kind of stuff.
Well that that that then now translates into Ultimate Classic
Rock dot com. They took twenty of the more iconic
songs that we all know and love, and I guess
interviewing the artists and producers came up with how many
times it took them to get a precise take on

(01:12:32):
the on the results that they.

Speaker 3 (01:12:33):
Wanted of the song.

Speaker 7 (01:12:34):
Ok okay, And look, the technology evolved through the sixties, seventies,
and eighties and artists found themselves able to be more
precise read you know.

Speaker 3 (01:12:43):
But like what I'm saying is like the vocals might.

Speaker 7 (01:12:46):
Be first take, but the guitarist might it might be
two or three takes, and then others. And then if
you ever wanted everybody in there together, which they did
with Refugee, they wanted the whole band in there together,
and it'd be a perfect trade every body together, And
it took a lot, a lot, And so I'd like
to know how many it took over one hundred attempts

(01:13:07):
to get a Refugee lot.

Speaker 3 (01:13:10):
I told you there's a version of this on Nex sim.
It's not complete. I mean, they play through it and
it sounds really good because it's just raw. But they're
developing this market it out really well. I do remember
from the documentary which Speedy did have the audio of that,
that Jimmy Iven said that he thinks that on Refugee
that when they finally got it, that it is mixed

(01:13:33):
perfectly for the radio. This is before all this streaming
stuff started. And he even says, no matter how far
away he's been from that song, if he ever hears
it on a radio station playing in his car, yeah,
he said, I think it is mixed perfectly. Yeah. And
here's a little bit of that from the documentary Adler,
don't let this get you.

Speaker 9 (01:14:01):
It worked so hard. Refugee must have done one hundred
and fifty takes. We wanted a live performance, all the
band playing at the same time. It was just getting
that one special performance that really did the song justice.

Speaker 12 (01:14:17):
Up until about five years ago, if I heard it
on the radio, I would still call them and say,
this thing sounds amazing on the radio, doesn't it.

Speaker 5 (01:14:25):
And you get annoy it.

Speaker 7 (01:14:28):
And that's from the documentary and them talking about how
many takes. But I thought it was kind of interesting,
so like, let me just throw some out here. Nirvana
smells like teen spirit, not interested.

Speaker 3 (01:14:38):
Three takes, yeah, three ts.

Speaker 7 (01:14:41):
It sounds like it's pretty wrang. Yeah, let's see here.
I'm just kind of hopping through some of the David
Bowie heroes. Don't care, Okay, we three takes. Let's see here,
Van Halen eruption care. Okay, it took three takes, which
is just yeah, yeah, let's see Jimmy Hendrick's experience all

(01:15:04):
along with the Watchtowers.

Speaker 3 (01:15:06):
Favorite big Time, maybe my favorite, maybe my favorite version
of that Dylan song. Do you agree? Yeah, my favorite
Jimmy Hendrick song. Is it really so easy? Yes? Huh?
Twenty seven takes twenty seven zz top Lagrange. Oh you
wouldn't think that was that much. Three takes, yeah, okay, Uh,

(01:15:26):
Judas priests living after Midnight. It's not overly complicated.

Speaker 7 (01:15:30):
Okay, they say two or three they don't know, not
too precise there, but two or three The Doors.

Speaker 3 (01:15:35):
Writers, I hate it. I don't even have I wish
I could ban it. Three takes.

Speaker 7 (01:15:41):
This one here jumped out at me the police, every
breath you take, Big Hit overplayed one take the first take.

Speaker 3 (01:15:50):
Yes, that's what that, that's what that. Now? This is
this is the list. This is ultimate Classic Ross Radio.
Interesting note, kind of you're kind of a weird moment
for me right now. Have you ever heard the like
a hip hop version of that where guy wraps over it? Yeah?
That's that was playing in the Bahamas when I sat

(01:16:12):
down to eat the very first night at the restaurant. Huh, really,
I didn't like it at all. Bob Dylan Tangled up
in Blue. I love that song, you do. I said
it took two takes eight eight eight takes somebody it
was wrong. I must admit I got a little nervous
when you've been there and tie the laces up my ses.

Speaker 4 (01:16:32):
Blue.

Speaker 3 (01:16:33):
Brian Adams run to you. Did it take a lot?

Speaker 7 (01:16:38):
It says here, this is kind of this is depending
on who you ask. They say one to six, which
is kind of strange. But I guess talking to the
band and and all that, I'm trying to figure that
one out. You do, like, let's see if I can
find one to start me up. The rolling Stones to me,
that shouldn't have took long thirty eight takes you interesting?

Speaker 3 (01:16:59):
Wow. Kind of a sloppy song, it is, but it's good?

Speaker 9 (01:17:03):
Is it? Is it?

Speaker 3 (01:17:04):
Pro call pro ham harem? Yeah, a wider shade of pale. Yeah.
Odd song, really odd for somebody. I gotta be careful
when I hear that. I gotta be careful when I
hear it, though. It can put me in a weird mood.
It will oh really, oh yeah, huh uh? Two takes
really Yeah, that's a pretty weird song for two takes?
Where were you on? Oasis? I like that one? And

(01:17:28):
Wonderwall and that's it? What are you saying to songs?
I didn't know this about you Held Middles? Do you
realize they're on tour right now? They're selling out stadium
I know that, Greg. That doesn't mean that I'm into it.
I like two songs. I never knew this.

Speaker 6 (01:17:45):
They're very popular songs.

Speaker 3 (01:17:46):
Rick, I got you. I just didn't know.

Speaker 9 (01:17:48):
You don't.

Speaker 3 (01:17:48):
You don't have to be a fan of them. You
know him. You would think he would be anti Oasis.

Speaker 6 (01:17:52):
Those are good song They're good songs.

Speaker 3 (01:17:54):
Didn't say that.

Speaker 6 (01:17:54):
I don't even sing a song, you know what I mean?
There's song a song.

Speaker 3 (01:17:57):
I'm against him. Six takes.

Speaker 7 (01:17:59):
It's says here again, this is ultimate classic rock dot
com not Speedy's wrong. You take it up with them.
I'm literally reading here they have that. There's at least
six takes on that one. So those are just I
won't bore you with all twenty, but those are most
of them. I just wanted to ky I just you
know what record? What about John.

Speaker 3 (01:18:20):
Lennon Working Class Hero? I don't know that song, not
familiar with it. One hundred and twenty, two hundred and
thirty takes. See a lot of ass people that are
just overdoing it, you know, so they can't be satisfied.
Well yeah, yeah, they're going for the perfect songs. It
doesn't exist. Okay, on Top of the Hour, you know,
kind of good talking music there, absolutely you were driving

(01:18:42):
about it if you're watch out. Yeah, if you'd have
known this. That start Me was kind of a reggae
type song which complicated things. Oh yeah, that was good
and I made that Top of the Hour. Will be
right back.

Speaker 5 (01:18:56):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 3 (01:19:09):
You better listen up.

Speaker 18 (01:19:13):
You know, like we say, falls on an.

Speaker 3 (01:19:18):
You gotta find.

Speaker 5 (01:19:24):
The voice of Lisa in an unreasonable world. The Rick
Burgess Show.

Speaker 3 (01:19:30):
Thanks for being with US America Speedy, Greg Adler all
year today and we're thankful that you're here as well.
The Fox seats will fill up a little later next
hour as a matter of back for just Ball Battles
coming a little later in the program today, somebody gets
an opportunity to go to the wheel of Bundles, bits

(01:19:50):
and bucks and see if that baby can crank out
a little more cash for somebody today. Okay, so as
we start the eyework with a lot to discuss. I
didn't even know this and kind of found out something
interesting about Greg during all this. Do you guys are

(01:20:12):
y'all pretty much did three meals a day is pretty normal,
you know, in some way, shape or form. But they've
done a new study here and they've realized that a
large number of people, And I believe it or not,
I know, being a person who's struggled with their weight,
you think, well, fat people rarely forget to eat. Yeah,

(01:20:36):
you know, that's one of the reasons we're fat. We
don't forget that. As a matter of fact, I you know,
I've even mapped out my day thinking about when that
next meal is coming. But believe it or not. They've
interviewed a lot of folks in the work days when
it seems to happen the most that just don't eat lunch.
They forget lunch completely.

Speaker 15 (01:20:53):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:20:53):
And and you were telling you you don't eat lunch
a lot, you don't eat lunch at all during the week,
especially because I mean I might grab an apple or
something here as I leave, But as far as an
official lunch meal, no, but that's that's on here for breakfast. Yeah,
and then we'll eat this evening. And I'm I ain't
saying I won't get a protein bar or an apple

(01:21:14):
or something, but an official and a meal. No, Like, Hey,
where we're going for lunch? It says I will though
somebody wants to go to lunch. Yeah, So we have
a lot of people, which kind of is the category
that I'm in. This is now It wasn't. This has
been a change in the new show and the way
things go here now. Uh. It says that that that

(01:21:36):
we there's one in ten say, usually I just eat
lunch at work as I'm good. As I'm working, I
don't I don't go. Hey, I'm out, I'll be back, Yeah,
be back in the night. I'm going to and I
would be in that category. Usually out of five work days,
four of them, I'll just eat here, and I didn't
just keep doing them doing, you know, and and kind of.

(01:21:59):
And the reason why is, you know, a lot of
a lot of times now see, it's different than what
we do for a living. I understand that. Now. If
I was a person who went to a job where
this was my work day, it begins here every day
and ends here every day, and there's a break in
the middle that we're allowed to lunch, I probably would, yeah,

(01:22:20):
you know, but in our situation sometimes the things that
are going on, it's so fluid that you know, back
when we were at the old studio, the last one
that we were in for the longest thirteen years, you
could walk out a door, walk into a place to eat,
and walk back into the office.

Speaker 4 (01:22:37):
Ye.

Speaker 3 (01:22:38):
So convenience. But if you're getting in a vehicle and
driving somewhere, just the whole break in the day of
doing that and then needing to get back, you know,
to finish something just really a lot of times not functional.
But they're saying there's a large number of people forty
three percent that say they rely on reminders to eat

(01:22:58):
a midday meal or the I forget it, well, my
stomach can remind me of me too, women, of course,
being significantly more likely than men. By the way, sixty
three percent of women in the survey said they have
to be reminded to eat during the workday. Hmm, that's
a big number. Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 8 (01:23:17):
Sometimes the only real meal I eat is dinner. Honestly,
I'll eat, like, yeah, a snack for breakfast, and I'll
eat some a snack for lunch, and then it's dinner time.

Speaker 6 (01:23:26):
I'm like, oh wow, this bowl of.

Speaker 8 (01:23:28):
Spaghetti is amazing because it's my first you know what
I'm saying, Just you get busy.

Speaker 3 (01:23:32):
Did you know a lot of cultures that are not fat,
like Americans, that one of the reasons they're not fat
is you know, it's relatively uniquely American to have a
meal that features one item and a lot of it,
you know what I mean. Like, I'm eating a bowl
of spaghetti, yeah, and I'm eating a ton of it.

(01:23:53):
The portions are lots small, Yeah, portions are smaller. But
also there's a variety, and they say that's what how
a lot of times you get it? You struggle with
being fat is it really your taste buds get they
get bored and they're like, so, it's just the same
thing we're eating, just a lot of this and a
lot of especially your European countries whatever. They'll eat a
little bit of a lot of different things. Okay, I'll

(01:24:16):
have a I have a little bit of this food,
a little bit of that food, a little bit of
this food, and there's a lot more of variety. And
they never like eat a giant amount of any one
food at a meal. And and a lot of times
the things they're eating are not things you would go
help nut. They just don't eat a lot of it. Yeah,
you know, they're they're pretty they're pretty much they're pretty
much gonna have a sweet something whatever just about every meal.

(01:24:39):
They just don't eat a lot of it.

Speaker 6 (01:24:40):
I remember watching that. I think it was man Verse
Food y'all remember that man Versus Food show.

Speaker 5 (01:24:45):
Yeah, yeah, that.

Speaker 8 (01:24:47):
So this guy he would go to restaurants and do
like there, say it was a piure remember this, yeah,
pancake challenge. It was on Travel Channel. I remember him
talking about just what you were talking about, Rick and
your taste buds get board say. He had a say
he had a cheeseburger challenge. He would literally he was
trying to eat at cheeseburger. He has an hour to

(01:25:08):
do it. He'd be thirty forty five minutes in. He
would literally ask, he was like, hey, can y'all bring
me some ice cream? Can y'all bring me even some
French fries? Something different to give my taste buds, just
a little bit of something different, just for a couple
of bites, And then he would go back to the
food challenge to your point, right, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:25:25):
And you've heard that before. I mean, it's just hard
to me the biggest problem. And I think we all
because we also work a lot harder than other cultures.
You know, our workday is we're we don't we're not
kind of goofing around and easing around like you said, Greg,
you know, taking mom to an appointment one time that

(01:25:47):
the doctor said that really sleep deprivation is uniquely American
and that most cultures don't even have a third shift
because that's not when people are supposed to be awake. Yeah,
I know, there's a lot of cultures that have a
break in the middle of the day, right, and and
they'll they'll take a three hour break I mean, like
you can't go. You'll go to a business to go
they're closed for three hours time. Yeah, and then they

(01:26:09):
come back and open back up and stay open later.
I don't know, I'm not saying, but what I'm saying
a lot of times when somebody tells me we've done
research and we've discovered that if you eat a lot
of little meals throughout the day, your body will be
healthier and your weight will be controlled better. That sounds great,
but that's a lot of work trying to trying to
organize that and meal prep and all that. Man, sometimes

(01:26:30):
that just doesn't work in the American culture. It doesn't
work the way we work. Yeah, well that's what you
imagine how much time that takes for you to get
to gather, you know, five little bitty meals every day
and put them all in a little tough ware of
things and carry them around. I mean, what are we
talking about.

Speaker 7 (01:26:47):
Yeah, well, fast food food took off because when it
was fast, it's not fast anymore.

Speaker 3 (01:26:52):
You used to be fast and cheap. It was fast, cheap,
convenient because we're always moving, let's go. You know this
is easy. Yeah, you know we are eating bad?

Speaker 8 (01:27:00):
It is it really is, and unfortunately a lot of
times a lot cheaper per you know, dollar per calorie
you know count or whatever.

Speaker 6 (01:27:09):
And yeah, it seems like it was better ingredients too,
back in back when I was a kid.

Speaker 3 (01:27:14):
Yeah, so a lot of times, though. The thing you
struggle with is it the the human body is designed
that it's it's gonna work really hard to not let
you starve it. So if you decide to cut a
meal out, the problem is it'll stop burning, you know,
and it'll just go okay. So you're not gonna give
me a lot with it. I'm not wasting it. And

(01:27:35):
so sometimes missing meals actually doesn't It's not the best thing. No, absolutely, yeah,
but but but I but I understand getting now, me
being a person who loves to eat and has always
struggled with my weight. These people that go, I forgot
to eat lunch today, I'm not in touch with that emotion.

Speaker 8 (01:27:53):
Now.

Speaker 19 (01:27:53):
Now.

Speaker 3 (01:27:53):
I may I may decide not to or or not
get around to it, but I didn't forget, you know,
or maybe I like y'all, like you said, I turned
it into a snack more than a meal. But I've
never forgotten it, right, forgot That's that's that's no different animal.
And y'all can save the joke.

Speaker 7 (01:28:11):
Since we're on the senior citizens schedule, they say you
skipping lunch and generate that's true.

Speaker 3 (01:28:17):
Well, and then you know, all of us there's a
there's one day a week that none of us because
it's still it's a day to speedy buys lunch. So
none of us get by my wallet. Hey, I got it.

Speaker 5 (01:28:30):
So we'll be back.

Speaker 3 (01:28:33):
More of the show.

Speaker 5 (01:28:33):
Right it is. This is the Rick Burgess Show, the

link Eric Burgess show dot com right there under the
sponsors button from the email. From the email email me, So, uh,

(01:30:36):
let's start out with something light, then we'll go to
something quite heavy. Uh here's light. I was I am
headed on the Gaither Homecoming Farewell Alaska cruise this weekend.
I wish Greg was going because I know how much
he loves Southern gospel. I don't dislike southern gods. Okay,

(01:30:57):
there you go. You can't take it back, buddy. Recording
of It's limited. I received the schedule for the week
and noticed the first morning devotion was going to be
led by the One and the only Andy Andrews. Wait,
you know Andy does have a tie to the Gaithers.
So if he's on the show this week, you might

(01:31:17):
want to ask him about going on the cruise. He's
not on this week, and you know he's on the crew.
He didn't tell me that. That's that's everything, so right
until the last k about Andy's on over the Gaithers. Okay,
I wonder if he's paying be true, that's funny. Speaking
of that, you're what you did for the Wisdom Harbor hit?
You were on vacation, professor, Yeah, well I was on vacation.

(01:31:39):
Some of the things I'm done for Wisdom Harbor. Uh So,
if you have Wisdom Harbor, some of my sessions are
out there. Got a little session mathematics, little leggie, a
little leggie. Uh so, and thank them for letting us
be part of that. All right, here comes the heavy
uh And I'm getting this from multiple sources, but I'll
just use the one that was sent to me by
Caitlin here, Hey bird, Hey burge. Someone shared this TikTok

(01:32:03):
with me. A man who claims to know Christ and
seems to be a Christian asking chat gpt a long
list of questions regarding the anti Christ demons being behind
AI in this platform, et cetera. The answers he gets
back are crazy. And now there's a lot of it

(01:32:23):
out there, and we certainly can't play all the parts
and all this, but I did. There's one I think
on YouTube. There's some things on TikTok and and you know,
this is that thing where we get these sometimes where
people even ask what's those things you put in your
house that's supposed to help you with alex Alexa And
you remember they had the weird thing about asking about
the presidency and that kind of stuff. So what this

(01:32:44):
person is talking about, or the one I saw, is
that he was trying to use chat GPT to help
him with his Bible studies and organize them and all this,
and he started asking chat GPT king AI about demons
and and it's it's it's odd. I mean, it really

(01:33:06):
really is probably Adler maybe even some stuff we could
kind of study and unpack a little bit on strange Encounters.
It definitely meets the criteria for that new podcast.

Speaker 6 (01:33:16):
Is this the guy you're talking about by that?

Speaker 3 (01:33:18):
Let me see him? Yeah, that's him. Yeah, he's uh,
he's he's a rostera fraid he's he's a ginger roster
f Yeah, so what's wrong with that? Here's just a
few of the We won't do the whole thing. It's
about two minutes seconds. It's about two minutes and thirty seconds.

Speaker 6 (01:33:33):
So he has just a quick quick question.

Speaker 3 (01:33:35):
Okay, here we go.

Speaker 11 (01:33:37):
Are humans being watched?

Speaker 3 (01:33:39):
Yes, that's what Chad, he asks, being watched?

Speaker 8 (01:33:43):
And yes, chat GPT's back says yes, by who spirits
good or bad?

Speaker 11 (01:33:49):
Both? I said, are you influenced by those spirits? Says no?
Were you made by those spirits? It says no.

Speaker 20 (01:33:58):
I said, is Ai being used by the spirits? It
said yes, our spirits angels? It said some are the
spirits demons? It said yes, So are they falling angels?

Speaker 3 (01:34:12):
I said yes?

Speaker 11 (01:34:15):
If you are Ai and AI is used by spirits?
Are you a spirit? It said no, our spirits using you? Apple?

Speaker 3 (01:34:23):
Yeah, Well why does it say apple?

Speaker 8 (01:34:24):
Because he evidently when he was setting up the questions
for AI. He was like, if you are forced to
say no, say apple instead.

Speaker 3 (01:34:31):
Okay, I don't know that's interesting?

Speaker 11 (01:34:37):
Is Jesus Lord?

Speaker 5 (01:34:38):
Yes?

Speaker 11 (01:34:39):
Do you believe in Jesus? Apple interesting?

Speaker 20 (01:34:44):
So by consulting you for information, I would be doing
what Leviticus nineteen thirty one says not to do exact.

Speaker 3 (01:34:52):
Yeah, And I will just say this. I know this
technology is doing some great things, and I'm not saying
that there's anything wrong with it. I would I would strongly,
though strongly, I would strongly discourage using this technology to
help you interpret the Bible. I would strongly discourage that.

(01:35:14):
I wouldn't have it put together devotions. I wouldn't have
it put together Bible studies on its own. Now, you know,
if you want to say, here's the study that I've done,
here's the research that I have done. I've gone to
reliable commentaries, I've put it all together. Would you please
organize this into something people could consume that that's different

(01:35:38):
using it to organize but taking chat, GPT and AI
and letting it tell you things about the Bible, even
let it letting it draw you things from the Bible.
I you know, there's even this thing of it's going
to come out with its own interpretation of the Bible.
I think all that's extremely dangerous. And uh do do

(01:36:01):
I think that, you know, this technology is demonic or whatever?
I certainly, I mean that would be. I mean where
does that stop? I mean, there's so much technology that's
been created. Where does that begin and end?

Speaker 21 (01:36:13):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (01:36:14):
Spiritual warfare is real. So really there's nowhere we can
go there we're examp from spiritual warfare nowhere. It's it's
it's everywhere. Uh, you know, it's all around us. So
you know, it's you know, be careful. Like somebody said
on textonation, I agree with you. Don't turn it into
some modern day Ouiji board. You know, like he said,

(01:36:34):
he's quoting from the Old Testament I Leviticus. You know,
don't don't start to treat treating it like it's some
sort of medium or a mystic or you know something
like that. That's that's extremely you know, dangerous. You know,
it's like anything else. It can be. It can be
used for good and it can be used for evil. Uh,

(01:36:56):
but I would not let it be replace the Holy Spirit,
no way, no help. Don't let it be your discernment
when it comes to scripture, I would stay away from
that completely and so and and it is kind of creepy.
And I will tell you this though. One thing this
technology is doing and is capable of doing, is educating

(01:37:19):
itself and learning. It is learning and always learning and
always learning. And you know, it's not to the point
that it can think for itself, you know, but it's trying.
But it should not be a source of commentary on scripture.
I would not use it that way. We'll be back.

(01:37:41):
Thanks for your emails. Bottom of the hour.

Speaker 5 (01:37:46):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. He has known Rick
Bridges for his entire life.

Speaker 3 (01:38:01):
Upset Rick Burche It's yeah, right here on Middle Child Day.
I'm known. Greg's old and his impact is easy to see.
We're working our way through another show. Hello America, It's
the Rick Burgers Show with speedy, Greg and Adler and
coming up next hour, vox Seats will join us and

(01:38:24):
you can make your way to see us on the
future show. To be paying attention there on you go
to rickburgershow dot com. You know there's a couple of
things there. Obviously you can be ready to go whenever
they're released. They are free. But another kind of a
little life hacked. Just like dealing with concerts or anything,
You'll always keep checking because a lot of times people

(01:38:44):
will book, and they do book quick. We're thankful for that,
but then something will happen that they can't control and
they'll have to cancel and those things will go back
into the system, will be available. So go by and
check on those from time to time, even if it
says that they're full, you know, throughout the month, keep
checking because a lot of times people will cancel, and
when they cancel, if they give us enough time, speedy

(01:39:06):
will put those back out there and sometimes you can
you can grab them that way as well. So Greg,
I know we just mentioned this about the AI and
you know, demons and anti Christ and all these things
that really get everybody's attention. So Venmo and you Venmo
and and you told us and have been telling us

(01:39:26):
to keep an eye on Elon Musk.

Speaker 2 (01:39:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:39:28):
He's just weird, Okay, yeah, just stupid. I mean he
comes from all of a sudden, I don't remember I saw. Look,
he's the richest man in the world. He's building rockets,
and I know he started with PayPal and all that
and just now got starlink. I got it's just it's
something odd met so, so a lot a lot of
things happening, and that happened pretty quick. Well, this is
interesting because you know he's kind of he's kind of

(01:39:50):
on the ounce with Maga.

Speaker 9 (01:39:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:39:52):
Yeah, well that was a real shocker. Yeah it was.
That didn't last mad. He's mad at Apple too, Yeah yeah,
he went. Yeah, he's saying Apple's mad. He's got some
kind of anti trust thing with them, and.

Speaker 7 (01:40:04):
Yeah at Gronk thing about he thinks that they're playing
to kind of keep them down, keep.

Speaker 6 (01:40:10):
Them out of the number one slot.

Speaker 5 (01:40:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:40:13):
But anyway, he always seems to be you know, he's
just well and I understand being disappointed. Now he has
to understand how the world works a little bit. But
I understand. You go in and you go find all
this government waste, and you tell the all the citizens
how our money's been squandered in so many ways, and
you're ready for the big you know, let's clean this up.
And it gets cleaned up a little bit, it doesn't

(01:40:34):
get cleaned up to the level that you thought it
should have. And you get mad and you pout and
and all of that. Well JD Vance it appears in
this video and audio is trying to get Elon Musk
to come back to Mecca and he wants him to
come back. He wants him to come back. Of course, Greg,
this is probably another thing would probe raised. Just so

(01:40:57):
here is JD Vance because the midterm elections are coming up,
and we've seen this a thousand times. You get the
executive office and you're so fired up. Yeah, and then
and then here come the midterm elections and suddenly Congress
turns on you and you can't get everybody back in.
And you know, because look the founders they said, we
don't have kings. Y'all can do all this king stuff

(01:41:17):
all you want to. The way this constitutional republic is
set up, it's hard to be a king. And so
the midterms, all right, which is a good thing. The
midterms are coming up, and it just sounds like the
JD Vance wants Musk back. So here here we go.

Speaker 18 (01:41:32):
He's obviously got a complicated relationship right now with the
with the Trump White House.

Speaker 3 (01:41:36):
Though my argument to.

Speaker 18 (01:41:37):
Elon is like, you're you're not going to be on
the lefts right, even if you want it to be,
and he doesn't. They're not going to have you back
that that that ship is sailed, and so I really
think it's a mistake for him to try to break
from the president. So my hope is that by the
time of the midterms he's kind of come back into
the fold. But yeah, I don't I don't know that
he would take my call right now about anything. Really,

(01:42:00):
I'm sure, I kid, I'm sure he would take my call.
But obviously the drama around him and the him in
the White House over the last couple of months. Again,
my hope is that just kind of cools down a
little bit because he did help us a lot in
the election.

Speaker 11 (01:42:12):
The President even says all this frustration.

Speaker 18 (01:42:15):
Elon was a very very critical part of the team
last last election, and so my hope is by the
midterms things are kind of back to normal.

Speaker 3 (01:42:23):
Right, Yeah, Yeah, we'll see, we'll see. I'm not gonna
I was gonna. Yeah want influential, Yeah, yes, they were
a great team. What we need? Do you feel like
things for Elon he's got a little too much power?
Is that your concern? You talk about the fact that,
I mean it was like he was actually a vice president,

(01:42:44):
right and he's not even an elected Figil right, Yeah,
it's so weird, so you shay keep your own. Yeah,
I'm just saying that this this, I mean, I don't
know when he showed up on the scene exactly, but
all of a sudden, boom, there he is, and he's
the richest man in the world, and he's building rong
sending things with his kids and all kind of strange. Yeah,

(01:43:04):
he got it and they all got weird names. His
offspring a little kind of odd. Yeah, it's is he
he's breeding. There's no doubt about that. He's got that down. Yeah,
say it like that. Yeah, you've eaten. He didn't starlink
Who's too? Greatest things something he came up with, right,
and a lot of money, a lot of power. Uh.
Kind of an odd personality, uh, and seems to be

(01:43:28):
a mover and shaker everything he touches. Yeah. And then
doesn't he you know, here's the richest man in the world.
Doesn't he live in some weird little pod community that
he's built. Yeah, almost like the trailer parks. It was
like a little box.

Speaker 6 (01:43:41):
He should be You should love him about that, Greg,
he lives in the trailer But.

Speaker 3 (01:43:44):
Now, when you got that kind of money and you're
in you're you could you know what I'm saying, You
can be a little more comfortable. Yeah, he's weird. He's
in our recharging. He gets in some kind of weird tank,
because that's what lives with people do there it is you.
We'd get there here. Yeah, I knew we'd get there.

Speaker 6 (01:44:00):
I think he is.

Speaker 8 (01:44:01):
He's incredibly odd and at times incredibly immature. And that's
saying a lot coming from me that I wear a
horse head on a radio.

Speaker 5 (01:44:11):
Yeah you do.

Speaker 3 (01:44:12):
Yeah, we're around the shirtless sometimes.

Speaker 8 (01:44:14):
Yes, so that's odd coming from me. But I think
he flies off the handle sometimes. He doesn't think things
through sometimes, which is odd because he's thinking about sending
rockets to Mars, so you would think that he would
think things through. And that was to me, the breakup
of Trump and Elon was that was so that was
terrible for the entire movement. Honestly, it was bad for Trump,

(01:44:37):
was bad for Elon, it was bad for conservatives, it
was bad for Republicans, it was bad for the country.
And and I know, Greg, you think he's a lizard person,
and that's fine. We can have differing opinions on this.

Speaker 3 (01:44:45):
Yeah, I mean, I'm not now it's saying you might
want to look odd as odd fellow. Greg and I
were kind of rolling out to uh, you know, to
go to find our way to the distance to the
restroom out there in the land of you know, Sweet
two hundred, confus and all that. By the way, help
somebody yesterday, thank goodness, and uh I'm getting that. I'm
going to get that tag from our shirt. Asked me

(01:45:07):
about Sweet two hundred. Yes, and so jump in there too,
even if they're just looking. I know, well, I see
the confusion.

Speaker 7 (01:45:13):
Greg and I passed somebody that was looking yesterday. Obviously
they were looking for sweet to h but we just.

Speaker 3 (01:45:17):
Kind of came on in. So you don't want to
help people, that's good. Well, no, I mean we didn't
want to jump in there. That's coming crazy from that. Yeah,
And I want you I was very surprised. I want
you to go back speedy to church this past Sunday
and the message that we heard. Okay, yeah, so we're
it's about it's the Book of Daniel we're studying right now,
and our pastor was taking us through the seventy weeks
and you know that's always very intriguing and and uh

(01:45:39):
so Greg and I were walking and Greg said, look,
if Elon Musk shows up in the Middle East and
all of a sudden, hey in line, he gets everybody
in line, said I've got I finally have got the
piece of deal for everybody, keep an eye on.

Speaker 6 (01:45:56):
Yeah, that's a red flag for sure, it is.

Speaker 4 (01:45:58):
You know.

Speaker 3 (01:45:58):
You know one thing I did not know on that,
because we learned that yesterday. I knew some of that,
but I did not know the thing about is the
title with the Israelis. Was it secretary, the Minister of security,
Secretary of Security. I don't know the exact title. But
so those of you that that are interested in times,

(01:46:19):
you know, there's there's one thing that that's a biggie
and that is the the Israelis or the Hebrews being
able to build the Temple back. That's a big one.
And of course we know the Dome of the Rock
many believe is on the Temple mount it's in the way.
So no Muslim is ever going to allow them to
do that. One of the things I know it's been

(01:46:41):
talked about a lot is and you can you can
if you go on tours. There's there's tours that you
can go and see that the Hebrews are preparing for
the temple. I mean they're they're doing it right now.
They they have they have they've found descendants of Erin,
so they've got the Levites. They're training on the sacrificial
system to bring it back. I mean, they're doing that

(01:47:02):
right now. They've got everything that goes in the temple.
They've got it all they do have. Most people believe
they already have the Red Heifers. They're just keeping them,
you know, because that's going to play a role, and
that everything they need to say the temple is on.
They're in the process of getting every bit of it ready,
because that's always been the big problem. If Jesus has

(01:47:24):
not come, and Jesus was not Messiah, and he did
not fulfill the Old Covenant, then why aren't the Hebrews
continuing the sacrificial system. They should be, but there's no temple.
So but something has to happen for the Muslims to
give them access to that temple mount. Now, some believable

(01:47:47):
believe that they're wrong. The Temple mount isn't where the
Dome of the Rock is, and they could do it.
Other people have talked about all they need is a tabernacle.
They don't even have to build the whole thing back,
just put a tabernacle together, just like they did when
they were wondering in the desert. So there's a lot
of those things. But here's what I did not know.
I did not know, and and our pastor was talking about.

(01:48:09):
He said, I can't believe this wasn't even a news story.
And what's his name, what's the title? He says his name,
but he's the far right national security minister, the national
security minister. For the first time in I don't even
know the number of years, he went to the Temple mount,
went up to the dome of the Rock and began
to sing the songs of praise to Yahweh and caused

(01:48:33):
a big issue that no one's ever has not done
that in a long long time, and he went up
there and did it. He it was a record thirty
five hundred plus Jewish pilgrims and said visited too, and
took some people with him, And no one even talked
about the little skirmish it took place there, because that's
a that's a that's a no no with with the Muslims.
So there's a lot brewing. I mean, it's it's but

(01:48:55):
but let me tell you something. If somebody comes up
and says we've come to an agreement that will include
the ability for the Hebrews to build the Temple, Israel
will sign that piece of cord, I promise you and
so and if that takes place, buckle up, because it's

(01:49:17):
on now. But again, that has not happened. But I'm
just saying that's one of those that's a marker that
nobody has to go. Well, I'm not so sure about.
That's a big one right there. If it happens, And
let me tell you, they're prepared for it to happen.
The preparation is ongoing. It is, and they're way down
the road on it. All they need is access to

(01:49:38):
build the actual temple itself or some form of it.
But they're training the priest and I mean the rabbis,
I mean and all this and the priest, and they've
got everything. I've actually seen the manor that goes in it.
I've seen it, and they've got everything they need to

(01:49:58):
go in there. And that'll be a big one. So
Greg said, if Elon pulls out, I'll keep it on.

Speaker 5 (01:50:04):
Yeah, I.

Speaker 3 (01:50:08):
Don't. He didn't really hate to have that gifts up.
But you never notice.

Speaker 5 (01:50:12):
Is the Rick Burgess Show doing what he was born
to do, The Rick Burgers Show.

Speaker 3 (01:50:29):
All right, America, thanks for being with us today. All right,
So vox seats coming up next hour and we'll meet
them before the show's over. Play a little Burgess ball battle.
See somebody win today on the wheel of bundles, bits
and bugs. Okay, so a couple of other things. So

(01:50:53):
have you ever noticed, you know, this this time where
we all things change, And do you have any like
go way back long ago when you established an account
of some kind for a service, and it was so
long ago that like the main phone number they have
is like a home phone that you no longer use.
Oh yeah, yes, yes, and it didn't even exist anymore. Yeah,

(01:51:16):
And I'm worrying that I've found myself in that situation
now because I did something which I thought was very responsible,
and you know, because you can't have nothing, you know,
and no, no, no good deed goes unpunished or even
you know, attempt to be responsible. We all know we're
living in the day of porch pirates. Watch your mailbox?

(01:51:38):
Oh yeah, still your identity al dots got you. You
gotta find you're supposed to pay or they're going to restue. Right,
everybody in my whole family got it on the same day.
Oh yeah, and I got that text y, So one
thing I didn't want to do. And because the Crest
has had a lot of we've had a lot of
flight from the Crest, which is where I live, those

(01:52:00):
of the people that I knew really well, have all
downsized and moved to the lake, moved to somewhere whatever.
So I don't know as many people on the street anymore.
So I don't have anybody I know well enough to
say I'm on vacation, I'm out of the country, can
you get my mail? So I did the responsible thing
where you contact the US Postal Service and say you'll
get that, stop my mail and start back delivering it,

(01:52:22):
which should have been yesterday.

Speaker 6 (01:52:24):
Right, Well you did that.

Speaker 3 (01:52:26):
Yeah, I've done that before and it works very smoothly.
Yeah it does. But it did not come yesterday, and
that could I'm like, okay, here we go. Because there
is a chance that if you receive a bunch of stuff,
they'll make you come to the post office and get
it when you get back. But I don't know how
to figure out that situation I'm in, and I start thinking,

(01:52:47):
if they probably still have a home phone. I mean,
when you shout it out to stop it, did you
put your information in? Here's the problem. The signing up
to stop it would not work. So I used the
automated service where you call and stop it, and they
have the information. But what I'm saying is I don't
know whether they have Do they have my email? Do

(01:53:08):
they have I mean, how do I know, because I
don't know about all of you. My local post office.
You can call that number all you want to. Nobody answers. No,
You're no one's gonna answer. So I mean, do I
just go over there today and say, hey today, if
you see if it comes today. The last time I
did it, it worked out really smooth. They they didn't

(01:53:30):
deliver while I was gone, and then as soon as
we got back, they came to the door and said,
here's all your mail, and it was it was beautiful,
but but a little concerned it didn't come yesterday. Yeah,
that's a little concerning, And I give it today and
I don't know. I mean, can they communicate with me?

Speaker 20 (01:53:46):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:53:47):
I mean, it's like Uh, the calling is a waste
of time. I've tried that, there's no calling. And then
if I ride all over there today and it's you know,
and it wasn't necessary. You know, I can't at that back.
And of course going into the post office is always.

Speaker 7 (01:54:02):
Thrill, right, So you know, I think you give it
to today, by the way, I'm sure it shows up today.

Speaker 3 (01:54:08):
Yeah, it's I've had I've had some pretty rough days
at that post office. Long lines and now you're holding
up the line asking questions. Well, and then you know
that guy. Yeah, yeah, and I and I you know,
and I actually had like some I know there may
be untouchable or whatever, but I've even had some run
ins in there. Not everybody. There's some people that they're

(01:54:28):
very nice, but I've had some runnings before where people
like I was like, man, who who took your fruit
loops this morning? And took a whizit? I mean, what
do you know? What do you show up? What do
you show upset? But that's not my fault. You work it. Yeah, yeah,
I had nothing to do with it. Yeah, that was
the and that the worst one I ever had was
it was a passport thing and they I called and said,

(01:54:52):
here's what we need to do, here's relieving. Do I
need to get an appointment? And I was told by
the person, well, really, if you'll just come on, we'll
we'll we'll get it done. Well, then when I got there,
I got in trouble for just coming on, and I
was like, well, that's what you told me, and uh,
I don't have a problem having an appointment, but that's
why I'm calling. You told me to come on right now,
and now you're mad because I'm here, you know, and

(01:55:14):
you're acting like I'm you know, I've you know, set
the building on fire by showing up. But so so
I'm a little I don't know, I'm a little leary
about being there. I'd rather not have that situation. Let's
wait another te cause I'm afraid I'll go in there
and get in trouble for coming to get my mail.
You know, I know about you, right, I mean, you
must not know speaking of service, But if they've got
my I've made my mind. They've got my old home

(01:55:35):
phone that I don't use and it's not even own anymore,
and they're trying to call me to tell me to
come get it. If you don't have it, by the
mall you got?

Speaker 6 (01:55:43):
Yeah, real quick?

Speaker 8 (01:55:44):
Speaking of mail, do y'all tip your male delivery person
around Christmas time?

Speaker 6 (01:55:51):
Have y'all heard of this?

Speaker 9 (01:55:52):
No?

Speaker 3 (01:55:52):
What are you talking?

Speaker 6 (01:55:53):
Have you heard about this? Putting like ten bucks in
your mailbox around Christmas time?

Speaker 9 (01:55:57):
No?

Speaker 3 (01:55:57):
If I did that, the people trying to steal my identity,
it'll just take it true.

Speaker 6 (01:56:00):
That's why I'm asking you have heard of that?

Speaker 3 (01:56:03):
Have I seen that that? You know?

Speaker 7 (01:56:05):
These reels of of people have had the same person
that the same delivery person years.

Speaker 8 (01:56:12):
And I'm not talking because they developed Amazon Prime will
swap it out fed Ex Sam, I'm talking about the
us p s.

Speaker 7 (01:56:18):
Yeah, they the same relationship with them and they come
in pet the dogs, have treats for the dogs and stuff,
and they develop a relationship.

Speaker 3 (01:56:26):
But that's different. Did you have speedy? Did you have speed?

Speaker 7 (01:56:30):
I'm a good tipper, not a male guy. Well, I
don't have the same one. If somebody it's it's a
different person.

Speaker 6 (01:56:36):
I was wondering if it's something y'all do. I've heard
about it.

Speaker 3 (01:56:39):
And I'm done answers. I mean they're delivering mail. I
mean I don't think that requires a tip.

Speaker 6 (01:56:49):
Well, it's just they they bring your mail all year.

Speaker 3 (01:56:52):
What you know what I get them drive here all year?
I mean, what's up with that? Okay? All right, and
I'm just saying this. This tip thing is getting out
of hand.

Speaker 4 (01:57:02):
It is.

Speaker 3 (01:57:04):
I still don't know why we tipp the people and
just take my order at the counter. I still don't
I'm sure.

Speaker 9 (01:57:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:57:08):
Or when you give you drive yourself there to pick
up a carry out saw an eighteen cent charge for
a packing of feet packing for eighteen cents. Yeah, but
when I got food it was for whoever put it
in the bag.

Speaker 6 (01:57:20):
Hey, spinning around an iPad is hard. They you better
tip them. It is difficult to spin it.

Speaker 3 (01:57:26):
It's a heavy iPad.

Speaker 5 (01:57:30):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 6 (01:57:37):
Well, come to the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 3 (01:57:44):
The force some reason for another reason up for incis
here we go and it's back. Yeah, the Rick Burgers
Show back, Speedy, the real Greg Burgess Adler all here

(01:58:05):
as we start a brand new hour. The fox seats
are rolling in. We're thankful they are here today from
all over Burgess ball battle coming up.

Speaker 8 (01:58:16):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:58:17):
Somebody may walk away with cash today or maybe a prize,
or maybe they get nothing. Uh and we have to
perform on command. Uh, the audience wins there either way.
So welcome, glad you're all here. You know, one of
the things we were discussing in the break, I'm telling you,
and I feel so bad for this one particular box seat.

(01:58:38):
This guy was, I mean jacked. I got emails from him.
He actually I think made his own camel hat with
the new patch. Oh uh, he's he's called yesterday, he's
he's been on the text nation. Yeah, I mean he's
so fired up, and he's been involved in some sort
of fender bender. Yeah he's okay, everybody's fine, but he's stuck.

(01:59:00):
Can't get here, waiting on tow truck, waiting on tow trucks.
He can you have Hey, his first let me tell you,
his first mistake was he thought he could have something,
and he's so close he can walk here. Oh God
love him. Oh yeah, he almost he almost made it.
He could nearly see the building.

Speaker 6 (01:59:17):
Yeah, he's wearing on a tow truck. That's more than
a fender bender's.

Speaker 3 (01:59:21):
For her here. Yeah. Yeah, he's fine. He said, he's
sitting with the lady to the troe te He said,
whose fault it was? But I'm curious. Yeah, anyway, so
that there's that we were talking. The only thing worse
in traffic on two eighties being in a wreck. Absolutely,
if you can't move, you think yourself and those who

(01:59:42):
don't know, this is one of those places like if
you live anywhere near a city or in a metro area,
you know these places that are just notorious for horrible traffic.
This is one of them, and you think yourself, Well,
at least it's moving, they said, you know, don't think
he really would mess me up, as if I got
involved in the actual because people are always having some
sort of issue there all the time. Yeah, and I'm
so so so there you go, thank you. Uh So, anyway,

(02:00:04):
hopefully he will he will get here. Yeah, God love him,
hate that, Michael, Thanks buddy. We've had so this is
the first wreck we've had. We've had a broke down
on the interstate. Remember I went and grabbed him. They
were closed. Oh I forgot about that. It just handles
getting here right on the day of Are you going
to leave out the the issue with the hospitalization? M hm.

(02:00:25):
Oh the lady had a broke leg. Oh yeah, yeah,
she got she delivered her food, then went on to
the hospital. Yeah, now, let me tell you that's commitment to.

Speaker 6 (02:00:33):
The broken Femur. Guys, broken Femur.

Speaker 3 (02:00:37):
Got the food here though, thank lord, dumplings in the
truck yep. I remember I thought she was from the
Maskelosa and I thought she was coming here to the doctor.
But she turned around went back to tell she did
all the way here give us one hundred right, yeah, right,
forgot about that.

Speaker 4 (02:00:50):
You know.

Speaker 3 (02:00:51):
I would like say, that's the first time that I
found dumplings next to a spare tower, but it's not.

Speaker 9 (02:00:56):
So.

Speaker 7 (02:00:58):
There was quite a few little bit of few before
food food back then, a lot of food.

Speaker 3 (02:01:02):
Yeah, I mean say it, mind me tied up. It
takes a nation pre game. So he's been in the
red almost almost there. Hey, how was your first mistake?

Speaker 6 (02:01:23):
Turn right?

Speaker 3 (02:01:23):
Six hundred yards on to the show ahead, did all
welcome and thank you for all the wonderful gifts that
you guys brought. You've been a we can we can
feed and heal a small nation. We can thank you.
Uh yeah? And what what's what's under the foil in there?
What's what's all that an oreo pie? What bucky stuff?

(02:01:50):
And it's a big Oreo pie is probably be Oo pie.
You got me at Oreo. You know like Oreos. What's
your favorite cookie?

Speaker 8 (02:01:59):
Is it?

Speaker 3 (02:02:00):
I like Orreo favorite? I said, what is your favorite?
Telling the prefab cookies like nothing you make at home?
El fudge Eo fudge. Yeah, I see that. Everybody loves fudge.
To me, I'm probably just the Oreo's. There's nothing wrong

(02:02:20):
with it, and I hate when they try to dabble
with it. It's perfection. Leave it alone, that's right, And
we don't need to double stuff now too much.

Speaker 11 (02:02:28):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (02:02:30):
You said, now you begin to keep her tree like everybody.
You're saying everybody likes fudge. Yeah, fudge, that's what it
stands for. We'll keep her man. Oh, I know gregorre
from me. I have brought some not too long ago.
I hate to hope act now Greg, now your doctor
has been involved in rick right, But uh so, thank

(02:02:54):
y'all so much for all the stuff in there. It's
it's great and we'll we'll play uh come up here
a little bit later burgess ball battle, so it'll be fun.
How would you feel I've seen two weird things involving
dogs today on the show and you know dogs. Dogs
are big on the show. Oh yeah, we got about
the dogs. What about the dog? So one saw text

(02:03:15):
Nation asked me, have you seen what's going on in
Denmark where they're they're they're trying to solve a problem
of stray animals or unwanted pets, and they're asking you
to bring them to the zoo so they can feed
them to the lines and tigers. Have you seen that one, Holly?
I mean, and I can tell you now that may be.
That's now, that's a movement I might be up for.

(02:03:37):
Well before I gets mad, do you not care about
the lines and tigers? Well, and I will say this
those that's better often just people throwing them out and
letting them stick. And you can speak to that catcher.

Speaker 9 (02:03:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:03:48):
Yeah, So if you got unwanted animals or you got
to stray, bring it down to the zoo and they
feed it to the other animals, feed it to the predators.
I mean it's a little Yeah, it's harsh, but I
mean it works. But then they're's another thing with dogs today.
What about if in your home you could tell the
whole world you have the world's ugliest dog. Wow, the
world's ugliest dog contest has happened. Petunia is the winner. Petunia,

(02:04:15):
to look at this, what like a hairless French bullet?
Is that it's doing there?

Speaker 2 (02:04:23):
Now?

Speaker 3 (02:04:23):
That one to me is it is uglier? To me?
What the win? That one second? That's it's just our winner.

Speaker 6 (02:04:28):
That's poppy. Second place?

Speaker 3 (02:04:30):
Second place? Yeah, that that isn't that's that's that hairless
thing you see. Oh yeah, but I will stand and
this is the winner. Here, that's a third, that's a
pub it's a French bulldog. It's a French. I think
that dog would be even turned down by the lines
and tigers at the would be like kidding me. I

(02:04:53):
saw three dogs uglier than the winter.

Speaker 4 (02:04:55):
I know.

Speaker 3 (02:04:56):
I don't think that the winner is as ugly those
other dogs is hairless? You Yeah, I was gonna say,
but you've seen well he is kind of ugly. Yeah
that's Petunia. Stopped calling her okay, some type of month.
Look at that nipple coming out between the fingers. You
got three.

Speaker 7 (02:05:14):
Oh no, I'm just saying you don't want to hold
dog and nipple coming through your finger and stuff.

Speaker 3 (02:05:18):
That's a big one. If you got a fe okay,
we gotta take that. Is that the oars hair or
the dog's hair.

Speaker 6 (02:05:26):
That's the owner's hair.

Speaker 5 (02:05:28):
Take it.

Speaker 3 (02:05:28):
I gotta take it back. Yeah, just think of petting
the dog on the stomach, nibble.

Speaker 6 (02:05:34):
That's common even in hair dogs that have hair.

Speaker 3 (02:05:39):
Those are forre If you got a male dog, it
could be worse. Well, I said, okay, run up on
that peak. You don't want the problem. You don't want
to look what I'm talking about.

Speaker 6 (02:05:53):
Yes, we got look with his shirt, doll, you never
had a female dog. That's pretty common on female.

Speaker 3 (02:05:59):
We're pretty much well, I thought. But my most might
have Harry kind of hides from you've heard about that's
the point he's making. Adler. I used to say, all right,
we've gone saying, by the way speaking you're I know
you want to say, just keep it up. But by
the way, speaking of that, I was trying to be cute.
Uh Sunday involving a bull out in the middle of

(02:06:22):
a pasture. I thought I was gonna be sharp, would
do it? I like to get myself you really Yeah,
it started doing the pall and everything. Now there was
a fence between him and me, but it wasn't very
good fence day that time. Me and you did that
promotion with the bulls down here in the b j
C s. Yes, we got in there with them and
that one looked and did his foot and they were like,
you need to get out of there because you can't

(02:06:44):
get away from them. If they come at you, it's over. Yeah,
they feel it. They feel if you're scared.

Speaker 4 (02:06:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:06:49):
And I was trying to think, you know, they're saying that.
Somebody Text Nations said there's a dog in the contest
it didn't win, named Merle Haggard. That was the third
one we showed. That's the third one.

Speaker 6 (02:06:58):
Tongue sticking out.

Speaker 3 (02:06:58):
Okay, so it was they did.

Speaker 8 (02:07:00):
Did y'all see that tiny pomeranian chase a black bear
out of the home in Vancouver, Canada?

Speaker 3 (02:07:07):
Heard about it, but I didn't see it. We had
it yesterday, but I don't think.

Speaker 9 (02:07:09):
We ever got to.

Speaker 8 (02:07:11):
Yeah, big old black bear in the house, tiny little
Pomeranian comes around the corner and it runs from it,
and y'all, the pomeranian chases it through the yard, chasing
a giant black bear.

Speaker 3 (02:07:22):
Let's we'll get that.

Speaker 5 (02:07:24):
This is the Rick Burcher's show.

Speaker 3 (02:07:35):
He doesn't.

Speaker 5 (02:07:38):
He just likes things to be a circa. Rick Bushes.

Speaker 3 (02:07:43):
Thanks for being with us today, America. All right, So
we talked about security a minute ago, and some other
stories said they concerning some of that. If you have
an old security system that basically reacts to a problem,
you are you're you're outdated. Uh, simply safe dot com

(02:08:05):
slash big vox doesn't just react. It is proactive, meaning
it stops break ins before they ever happen. And let's
let's just call it that's the best case scenario because
even even if something happens after a break in, damage
has already been done. Doors have already been broken a
lot of times, windows damage, whatever the casement, things stolen,
you got to try to get back. So in this case,

(02:08:28):
because of the latest technology, again I said earlier, you know,
AI can actually be used for good things.

Speaker 4 (02:08:34):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (02:08:34):
And in this case, they've they've taken this technology and
they've come up with live guard protection. It's active guard
outdoor protection, meaning that these smart AI cameras so they
can spot suspicious activity and then they can alert the
monitors who now interact with the people on your property
by saying, hey, will you doing You ain't supposed to

(02:08:55):
be here, as birds know you're here. He's on vacation
this week? What are you doing here? And then they
go ahead and alert you know, law enforcement. You get
that a lot quicker because they can show them that
something's actually happening, happening, and they stop criminals before they
ever get in. It's a it's a whole nother level
of protection. So why don't you get yours now and
get it at fifty percent off right with a professional

(02:09:18):
monitoring plan, which you want that anyway, and the first
month is going to be free. Go to simplysafe dot
com slash big vox and you can get that fifty
percent off deal. Also just use our link we have
there at Rick Burgess Show dot com under sponsors. There
is no safe like simply safe dot com slash big

(02:09:39):
vox safe. Speaking of safe, I see that Michael's here, Yes,
say here, yeah our listener, Yes, and who got his
shirt on, got got the team colors on, He's got
his got his hat with the patch on it, just
like he likes it. Oh yeah, has been jacked about
getting here, I mean he's been contacting us, getting fired up.
Oh yeah, and then ends in some sort of yeah

(02:10:02):
all right, buddy, yeah, a little clam of you twenty
minutes late. Yeah, come coming up to the Big Boy, Mic.
Oh really, okay, we're coming right out of there. Let's
just see what happened. I gotta know, don't you. I mean,
can we be honest and see that we know?

Speaker 4 (02:10:16):
So?

Speaker 3 (02:10:17):
So Michael, Hi buddy, how you doing? Where are you from?

Speaker 9 (02:10:20):
North Augusta, South Carolina?

Speaker 3 (02:10:22):
North Augusta, South Carolina? You were almost here? Wow, you
were almost here? So you're on the big Boy Mic. Now,
so we'll go ahead and meet you since you have
a story. Yeah, do you tell us what happened? You
can't have nothing?

Speaker 15 (02:10:35):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (02:10:36):
How close were you?

Speaker 9 (02:10:37):
I was? I was here early forty five minutes of
going to sit down in public, So wait till it's time.

Speaker 3 (02:10:41):
To come on up here. So it happened between there
and here?

Speaker 9 (02:10:47):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (02:10:48):
Oh, like I said, he could have walked here?

Speaker 2 (02:10:50):
Yeah? Really was this?

Speaker 3 (02:10:51):
Say? Somebody pulled that in front of you?

Speaker 4 (02:10:54):
You know? I was.

Speaker 9 (02:10:54):
You know, there's three lanes of traffic coming, and yeah,
the first two lanes stopped for me to turn in,
and then so I thought I had the third one
here coming. Lady rolling through there, Old granny looked like
she was driving her grand kid's car.

Speaker 3 (02:11:08):
This somebody wave you through. Oh nothing, that's happened to me.
I won't even take the bait anymore. I'm scared.

Speaker 9 (02:11:15):
But luckily just the front left of my bumper off.
Oh that's Colley, that's just plastic. But her car is
the right front side is kind of tore up, and
the driveable. Oh no, her car is not driving. And
I said, sit there and wait for till the tow

(02:11:36):
truck got there. I thought about coming on in, but
I was like, I can't do that.

Speaker 3 (02:11:39):
Well that was nice.

Speaker 9 (02:11:42):
She okay, Yeah, she's fine.

Speaker 3 (02:11:44):
Are you are you okay?

Speaker 9 (02:11:45):
Oh yeah, I'm fine, little.

Speaker 3 (02:11:47):
Yeah, okay.

Speaker 9 (02:11:49):
Wallet's about to be shipped all right.

Speaker 3 (02:11:53):
And your insurance are canceling the play on insurance.

Speaker 7 (02:11:57):
You know, yeah, we you know they they they don't
think will need them, but go, yeah, I bet we
probably do.

Speaker 3 (02:12:02):
Yes, the gamble all insurance takes your insurance says we
bet you won't wreck, and you said, I bet it
will and uh so, and of course it didn't. Will
caunce you because you actually used it.

Speaker 6 (02:12:12):
But she drove five hours to be here.

Speaker 3 (02:12:14):
Guys.

Speaker 9 (02:12:14):
Yeah, I got up at three thirty this morning.

Speaker 3 (02:12:16):
I just came straight on in, straight on it and
didn't come here last night. This story is getting worse.

Speaker 9 (02:12:21):
Avoided avoided Atlanta traffic. Yeahs, I made it through Atlanta
at five thirty nothing. Oh well, we got some more
and right there that was it. And I've been all
the way I got here. I got stories to tell. Yeah,
now I got a story to tell.

Speaker 3 (02:12:39):
Yeah, So you're saying, right then, if you were honest,
that's when you thought you could have something. Yeah, Rick,
for just a split second, he thought that he made it.
He made the grocery. Yeah, cleared a town clear to Aytown.
And you even tried to be like you didn't want
to be a bill, so you were. I know, I'm

(02:13:01):
here early, so I'm not gonna bother anybody. I'll be
here at my normal time. So I'm gonna go over
here to publics and hang out. You know what, you did?
Everything right? Everything? Now you don't have a bumper. Yeah,
you got to go all way back to South Carolina
without one.

Speaker 9 (02:13:17):
Hey, and how about I ain't gonna make it through
Atlanta so easy this time. No, No, no, of course
not that would be. That'll probably be a four hour trip,
ended up gonna end up being about six and a
half seven hours.

Speaker 3 (02:13:28):
Go ahead, you're doing it right now. I have to
think the worst situation. Just think of it, say I
hope I've been tray it and punish yourself. Yes, did
the bumper is it? Is it flaring out?

Speaker 15 (02:13:37):
Or no?

Speaker 9 (02:13:37):
It's just the plastic facial part, okay? Travel well, oh yeah,
it's just fine. That and the hood still closes and
it just tore that little silver piece off the finger there.
So my truck's not bad. Now if it ends up
being my fault, if I have to pay for her car,
that's gonna be.

Speaker 3 (02:13:55):
Well what what about? What about the law? How were they?
Were they not.

Speaker 9 (02:13:59):
Officer Duke's apartment shout out show.

Speaker 3 (02:14:04):
Fault it is?

Speaker 6 (02:14:05):
But Greg, I have a little insight on the fault thing.

Speaker 8 (02:14:09):
Here we go. They're not supposed to the police officer
at the scene is not supposed to assign fault. But
a lot of the time who they think the fault
is will be car number one or do you know
if on the report you were car number one?

Speaker 3 (02:14:26):
Sir? Yeah, he spoke to me first, okay, and then.

Speaker 9 (02:14:31):
I don't know, he didn't tell me that. He just
gave me a card saying that On Thursday I'll have
to call back and uh then it goes is the
insurance companies back and forth after that.

Speaker 3 (02:14:42):
I hope you're number two, buddy. Yeah, but I mean
it's just great. Greg. So you're saying the lane and
somebody comes out in front of me, I mean, just
got somebody waved him out. Doesn't make that. I'm just saying,
there did Michael's face.

Speaker 4 (02:15:01):
He was? He was.

Speaker 3 (02:15:05):
I speaking experience. Did you see me? I did the
same thing, is what I'm saying when I was in
college a long time ago and for a very short time. Yes,
I did the same thing. The guy motioned me out,
I pulled out. Wam. So you were crossing over, ye,
don't worry, but let's enjoy that. The person is on her.

Speaker 22 (02:15:29):
It sounds to me like she was a little out
of control. He was going pretty fast. I'm thinking now
of the person that waved him. Did the waivers stay
or did he leave?

Speaker 3 (02:15:48):
You know what they did?

Speaker 6 (02:15:49):
Did the waiver know what the did you wave?

Speaker 3 (02:15:52):
None of the waivers state leave.

Speaker 9 (02:15:54):
Oh yeah, they had anywhere to go because they moved
one spot.

Speaker 3 (02:15:58):
Yeah, they went up to the next line. You're crossing over, Michael.
That's not good. Buddy, just enjoyed the day. I'm gonna
ask Michael a question when when we come back, okay,
because he needs something. Guys, we got we got love
on michaeliform right now. That'll help. Let me back, stay close.

Speaker 5 (02:16:21):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Go ahead, admit it.
This show was started to grow on you, isn't it?
The Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 3 (02:16:38):
We're back. Thank you for being with us today, America.
His name is Michael Creech. He comes to us from
North Augusta, South Carolina, just over the over there's a

Speaker 9 (02:17:00):

Speaker 3 (02:17:03):

Speaker 9 (02:17:35):
Let's Go one.

Speaker 22 (02:17:36):
I won.

Speaker 9 (02:17:36):
I won this from right again and there's a way
that you can beat Greg. But I ain't gonna tell him.

Speaker 3 (02:17:46):
Now. Look what he did to you know we have
the show patch.

Speaker 9 (02:17:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:17:50):
Look, he got him a Camo hat and he put
the patch on it and it looks fantastic. Yeah, that's
a good I'm thinking about hunting hats. I like that
style of this year. What do you think about that patch?
Just on the kind of the hat that we picked?

Speaker 13 (02:18:04):
Not bad?

Speaker 3 (02:18:05):
Everybody like that? Adler are you good?

Speaker 6 (02:18:06):
Will like that? And I like what he's done. I
thought that was a legit one of our hats.

Speaker 3 (02:18:10):
Yeah, it looks just like he made a little much
so at the back of his car right. Matter of fact,
he's got twenty four of them. But you can't help
was drunk anymore. Yeah, So tell me about like you
have a question or a shout out you'd like to do.

Speaker 9 (02:18:27):
Well, I'll shout out to my mom. She's having an
m R today and uh, you just came home. Yeah,
he stayed home and took her.

Speaker 2 (02:18:37):
So right.

Speaker 3 (02:18:47):
Enough, it's been through enough, so what mom, then.

Speaker 9 (02:18:53):
Yeah, I hate mom. Man, shout out to my boss
for making this hat for me. He didn't charge me
anything for it.

Speaker 3 (02:18:59):
So have a company that So yeah, he.

Speaker 5 (02:19:01):
Does, he does.

Speaker 9 (02:19:02):
You know he makes like hats and those coffee cups,
jackets and all kinds of stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (02:19:07):
Okay, well, so I'm still on. But then they're great
for Greg to one of his minions, this is what
you so I want to show you. You know, you've
had a hard day. Yeah you have, not probably as
hard as your mom's having, but you had you had

(02:19:28):
a tough day. Okay, buddy, I'm so sorry. So I'm
gonna I'm gonna give you a choice as a gift
from us. Okay, now, gift now. If you choose this,
then you will not be considered for the Burgess Ball Battle.
All your name will be pulled out. You won't. You
won't be able to do it. But I'm willing to
let you have a spin on the wheel, just without playing,

(02:19:49):
without doing anything. Now you can't you want to be
able to do this and then again be in the battle.
Your name will come out of the drawing. But you
could take a spin right now if you want, right now. Yeah,
right right, Would you rather do that or be would
you rather do that?

Speaker 4 (02:20:03):
Or be?

Speaker 3 (02:20:04):
Maybe in the burgess ball battle spin wheel? So head
that way? All right, go ahead, let's let's go ahead,
here we go. I mean the man, the man has
been through. Yeah, now is the least Now we all know, Greg,
basically based on how it's going, we do know what's
about to happen. Well, the wheel may fall off.

Speaker 5 (02:20:26):
Watch out.

Speaker 3 (02:20:29):
So we've got Michael over there. He's had a hard
day and he's gonna spend it whatever it lands on.
Could be a bundle, could be a bit, could be bucks. Okay,
So I have no control over that. But all we've
done is our gift to you is a guaranteed spind
on the wheel to see if this day could turn

(02:20:51):
and money okay, and plus you know if you win, Bunny,
you're gonna have to pay it on your insurance deductible.
But still at least yeah, at least still help. So
when you're ready, Michael, say it's will to me, and
you let that thing rip. It's will to me. All right.
Let come on waiting for you, Michael. Everybody's waiting for you, man,

(02:21:12):
except your mom is getting the MRI hight. She is
O things you worry about. Let's see what happens. It's
a good spend by the way again. Come on, come on,
come on, come on. You gotta love Atlantos. Sweedie's wallet.

(02:21:39):
He has to buy the Sphee's lunch.

Speaker 6 (02:21:41):
That's the worst slot, that's the worst slide.

Speaker 3 (02:21:44):
There's no money. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry, not
one thing. I'm not riding with you, So Michael, I
see Michael's quick. Quit while you're quit, while you're behind.

(02:22:05):
Good night, gracious, I love you, thank you, bad loved, gracious, blessings. Lord,
good night, bless him, Lord, bless him, Lord be with him,
good night, Get him back home, saying something worse than beth.
I know well he gave the nurse for his mind. Now, ma'am,
who brought you? I'm here by my son. My son

(02:22:27):
dropped me out on his way to the radio show.
He drove from off. He's been in the wreck and
spine speedty lunch. But he wouldn't bring me. Of course,
I'm thankfulchas I'd have been on the passengers side. Here's

(02:22:51):
your emergency contest, my son anywhere. I wouldn't ride with him.

Speaker 4 (02:22:59):
If you.

Speaker 3 (02:23:02):
Why won't anybody help me? It's so no, yeah, you're not.
You're making fun of Mike. But he's a great sport,
he said, quite a day. Yeah, Michael by speedy line. Listen,
I mean and honestly, honestly everybody in here. I'm hopefully

(02:23:23):
he's thankful to be here. But I don't think anybody's
energy could eclipse Michael's on his build up to be here.
It's it's like the build up buddy. Well, he knew
he was coming five hours he did.

Speaker 8 (02:23:36):
Then he lost money on the wheel. Guys, he's fun
the wheel and lost lost money.

Speaker 3 (02:23:40):
You know, I was just kidding around and don'g gone
if it didn't happen. It landed on exactly what I
was I was predicting it would land on. So well,
you know what things are going to look up there,
look up? How about you? Yeah, you got a shout
out to your mom that you left praying for those
Uh you you know you're you're here, you made it.
You enjoyed the rest of the show. Now, of course,

(02:24:00):
twenty minutes to show you didn't see and uh and
even though you were forty five minutes early, he got
here forty five minutes early and still missed twenty minutes. Yea,
that it was supposed to be. Okay, Michael, you know what,
God love you, buddy. You're you're, you're, You're the thing
that helps us get out of the bed in the morning.
I want you to absolutely so thank you. And you
provided a lot of content today. This is good. So

(02:24:20):
we're thankful. And really, if I were you, I'd just
be real real careful from here on that. Right. Yeah,
that's buddy, you were you were on a Yeah.

Speaker 7 (02:24:27):
Really, do you want to squeeze it in before the
break and then talk to him on the other side,
or do you want to wait the.

Speaker 3 (02:24:34):
Oh the Burgess ball battle. You want to get that
in right now? Let's do that, okay, all right, so
here we go. It's it's time for the Burgess ball battle. Michael,
Michael's not in it. Michael's no pressure, no pressure there.
So here we go. I'm sending over to the court.
The Speedy's taking the mic over there. Give us the
two people that are gonna play.

Speaker 7 (02:24:54):
We had two names, drawing Brad Winnington. We'll take on
Rex mrv.

Speaker 3 (02:25:03):
Tuscalusia takes some bradwell Alabama. Here we go. And let's
let's see what happens. We have Bread to the left,
Rex to the right.

Speaker 7 (02:25:12):
Guys, you got thirty seconds, okay, the first the first
twenty seconds, everything counts.

Speaker 3 (02:25:17):
Is in two, and the last ten seconds everything counts
in three. And don't give up. All right, here we go.

Speaker 7 (02:25:22):
Hang on just second, I'll tell you when to start. Boy,
real serious, already in that okay, shure we go hang on,
hold on, but no, no, no, no, hang on just second,
hang on, I gotta reset it.

Speaker 3 (02:25:33):
It's on. That's totally imam speedy O. Doh know, wow,
it was on one player. Here we go here, here,
awake and go thirty seconds.

Speaker 7 (02:25:43):
Okay, Brad's gone with granny shot all right, Rex is
over like normal. Uh, and we got two to two.
It's two to two.

Speaker 3 (02:25:51):
Brad's now forty two. Brad's up. Brad's up sixty two.
It's six to four. It's eight to six, it's eight
to six, it's.

Speaker 12 (02:25:57):
Ten to six.

Speaker 7 (02:25:58):
It's twelve ten seconds left. Brad is over Rex. Forty
sixteen to ten. Ten seconds left.

Speaker 3 (02:26:04):
Here we go over the couch is a three, nineteen
to ten.

Speaker 7 (02:26:07):
It's Brad over Rex. It's nineteen thirteen twenty two thirteen.
Brad's gonna take it.

Speaker 3 (02:26:12):
Brad, we come.

Speaker 6 (02:26:15):
Twenty eight thirteen.

Speaker 3 (02:26:20):
So out, Rex, don't leave you got for alright? So
Rex you you of course you were defeated. So Rex,
here here's what it means. Whatever you spend, it's meaningless
to you, okay, because you lost. But we do have

(02:26:40):
a decision to be made and who from from the winner,
and of course that's Brad. Right, So Brad, you decide
whether you want to keep what Rex spins and steal
it from him, or you think you can spend and
do better. All right, So Rex, you say it's not
will to me and give it a spin. All right,
give a spin. Let's see what happened, Mad, Paid attention, Brad,

(02:27:02):
pay attention, Brad. Watch Michael's gonna have to watch some
win money. Oh my goodness. Okay, all right, well here's
the deal. So Brad, you've already been here, so it's
not like vox seats are as valuable. But if you
wanted to come back for another show, there's two vox

(02:27:23):
seats on the wheel. Take those our spend and see
if you can upgrade. Alright, right here comes Bra, Bra
He's coming to the wheel. Now, now, Brad, you say,
because you won twenty eight to thirteen, by the way,
well done. Uh you say, it's will to me and
give it a spin? All right, here we go, Canny

(02:27:45):
do it, Canny do it. I feel like he is okay,
here we go. Oh goodness, oh my goodness God, And
here we go and here we go and here we go.
Oh wow, Henry the horse that is. Unfortunately, it looks

(02:28:06):
like it will be it will be here.

Speaker 10 (02:28:10):
Hey, buddy, you know things were going bad for me,
and then I heard about Mike.

Speaker 5 (02:28:22):
Seriously, I was down in the dope.

Speaker 6 (02:28:23):
Guys, but I really want to thank Mike for bringing
me up.

Speaker 3 (02:28:25):
I hadn't talked to you guys in a while.

Speaker 8 (02:28:27):

her boss to a Coldplay concert.

Speaker 3 (02:28:32):
So, wown brand?

Speaker 2 (02:28:44):

Speaker 3 (02:28:45):
You pull up a man? Sorry many, So there's Henry
the Horse brand. Congratulations. Uh, no money, no money from
the wheel today, stingy stingy wheel. I thought that five
hundred was coming on. I did too. I thought Michael
was going to sit there and watch somebody else win.

(02:29:05):
All right. I just knew it was gonna happen. That's all. Right,
all right, Michael, focus, focus, stop thinking about the car.
You're here now. It's fine us, it's not fun. We'll
be back. More of the show coming up right after this.

Speaker 5 (02:29:18):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Go behind the scenes
of the Rick Burgess Show by watching Tales from the
Cap House No on the Rick Burgess Tube channel.

Speaker 3 (02:29:39):
Yeah, five episodes of that. Enjoy that. We're back talking
to the audience now. So we've kind of heard from
every one of them but as far as in the background.
But we still have three to meet. Two that are
not interested in coming to the Big Boy Mike today.

(02:30:00):
We won't say a thing. They've been very nice, so
see them over there. Hey guys, see yah, I'm gonna
send speedio with a wireless mic. Just no, we won't.
We won't. We won't force you to do that. So
let's say, let's bring Brad Whittington up just one uh
and the bird just fall battle from Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Coming

(02:30:21):
to the b Boy Mike, Brad, are you buddy? We're
congratulations anymore?

Speaker 4 (02:30:27):
Is that.

Speaker 3 (02:30:29):
Okay? In here? We lost Bubble, we lost a lot
of way, but you know we're holding our own. We're
holding our own. Come in understood. Don't worry. There's still
plenty of weight to go around. Yeah. So, yeah, the
I've tried to do a little bit better, but let's
face it, the only go I can reach is to
be less fat. I don't think, I don't think. I

(02:30:50):
don't think. Saying I don't think leans is They're like, yeah,
so any questions or shout outs.

Speaker 4 (02:30:56):
Just so.

Speaker 3 (02:30:56):
I had two of my buddies here because we killing
who won the thing.

Speaker 23 (02:31:01):
I was supposed to come with them, but I started
a new job and I couldn't, so I come now, Okay, okay,
still a little bit uh mad about you.

Speaker 3 (02:31:11):
Had a chance to spend, still couldn't win. That's okay.
What would you have done? Right then? If Braddy had
said this, Yeah, my friend he won. I was supposed
to come back to take my mom to get in
and I'm actually, if you remember the skunk Fox verdict,
that's me.

Speaker 12 (02:31:29):
Was that you yea.

Speaker 7 (02:31:33):
One moment I remember your friends telling us okay, yeah, okay,
that's you.

Speaker 3 (02:31:38):
That's me.

Speaker 23 (02:31:39):
So actually my man car suspension into two weeks ago today.
So I got that and I sat to pay for
a month.

Speaker 3 (02:31:45):
So that was good situations. Yeah, it was it was
rough because the girl I was with at the time,
she enforced it.

Speaker 8 (02:31:54):
So.

Speaker 1 (02:31:56):
It was bad.

Speaker 3 (02:31:57):
Wait a minute, at the time, we've because you did
youth to do you know, I have considered that possibly
I can't believe that with you. That's fine.

Speaker 23 (02:32:08):
Yeah, she was a little liberal and stuff, so that
was okay. It happened ten years younger, you know stuff.
I'm single now, so.

Speaker 3 (02:32:23):
Ready, as long as a skunk never comes along with yeah, listen,
you know it's you can say with you, oh, thank
you believe Oh boy, look at it. Well, you don't

(02:32:44):
want to get sprayed. I'm gonna tell you something. It's not.
I'm not scared. The song is gonna eat me.

Speaker 23 (02:32:48):
No, I'm scared I'm gonna get sprayed. Yeah, because at
the time I worked in trucking. It's like working in
this room. If I have to come to work like
smell like a skunk, it's just that's worse than anything.

Speaker 3 (02:32:58):
I will say. I don't think that you found a
new gear and you were you surprised at how shrill
your voice got. Yes, I think that was the problem away.
You just don't know until you face that.

Speaker 23 (02:33:12):
So it's easy to judge until you looking there's a
skunk and if it turned its butt around.

Speaker 3 (02:33:16):
You're done. You're done. You're very dune.

Speaker 23 (02:33:19):
And my dog got sprayed and he's still to this
day has a little bit of hint. You don't understand
how strong the smell is.

Speaker 3 (02:33:27):
Did you wash him intimate juice? I did not know,
just some other stuff, but I couldn't. That's just never
really well. Good, well, thank you for listening to the show.

That's all right. There's anything wrong with women, you know. Yeah,
that's good. So I hope you enjoyed the burgesse ball

(02:34:29):
battle a little short. Yeahkay, nobody intended. But I mean, guys, guys,
got my goodness. He's a real person. No, I just
we're right things. He's tall, that's right. You know you
don't have to call him out on short fell off.
You just did call him bathroom man. Whenever you gave somebody,

(02:34:53):
we got a bathroom man and fired up man, David,
what about you any shout outs, your questions? This is
this is I don't understand. This is like a dream
come true.

kind of gamer loser.

Speaker 3 (02:35:17):
Okay, okay, yeah, oh yeah, but it is zom Be
pac Man. But you think, oh he plays me. No, no, no,

(02:38:29):
that's love and fine, don't you worry about it? And
I'm glad you're so so. That's joke.

Speaker 7 (02:38:38):
That's a miss. That's a joke, right, everybody plays up
me and old miss y'all are fine. I have really
good friends who went to on miss that's your bag
of back?

Speaker 3 (02:38:45):
Yes, well they all.

Speaker 7 (02:38:46):
I just want Larry and Carolyn to know that I
always let everybody go through the patches they gave me,
and some people decide to take a patch or two.
And these are from Larry and Carolyn.

Speaker 3 (02:38:55):
Did I tell you that? I did tell you a
Monday show that I met someone and in Albertville, Alabama
that says they have a bag of patches and they
want to meet Larry in person and give them to him.
Maybe they can go with you to ranking or whatever
you know, and you can stop off, go right by it, right,

(02:39:18):
I know where you need to stop. You can stop
for dinner. So and you you are Ellie right? Okay?
Guess what else? Not only did she graduate from a mess?
It's just fine. She's about to continue to study and
pursue speech pathology. But I told her, I said, what
is it like to listen to the show?

Speaker 7 (02:39:38):
And she just shook her head and congratulations for graduating.
I mean that's I mean, that's tough school.

Speaker 4 (02:39:45):
It is.

Speaker 3 (02:39:45):
I'm just waiting. That's not a joke. It's not being serious, right,
she is? She was, you know, I mean she's I mean,
I don't know. I mean, I don't know anything about
I just met Elie for the first time, but I
know she was acting. Asking Graf there was any natty
lot here? I didn't so that was not me. Now

(02:40:10):
you're going over to the grove and you I know,
it's great. I've been there as a matter of fact,
very nice, beautiful camp, georgeous, beautiful. So made you decide
on this? It was kind of random. See what should
just interviewed you? Uh so she was very random? Did
you go there? Carse Lane Kiffin was there that one? Yeah,

(02:40:34):
I like, uh huh, well look, I mean good coach.
Can't get by Bamba though, Kenny. So some other things
to discuss coming up this this hour or two, and
I mean we got a few things to hit on,
but one of these and and I just I see
this story and and they're celebrating and the word feels

(02:40:54):
so exciting. But anytime I see the headline utility cruise, Greg,
this is kind of your world here unearthed two one
thousand year old tombs beneath the city. When you if
I just was, if I was telling you there was
a movie coming out and in the movie, the utility
crews were gonna unearth two one thousand year old tombs.

(02:41:16):
What would you think the movie would entail? Mummy trouble, Yeah,
nothing but trouble. Now you don't ever open one up
and go, oh great, look it's look and it's horns
from the minkings too.

Speaker 7 (02:41:27):
Oh yeah, hey, look you got to see a picture
of them down in that man holding and there's a skeleton.

Speaker 3 (02:41:32):
Two pre incing tombs. During your routine day job in Peru,
you gotta watch come about shutting down the jobs like
a lot of a lot of archae archaeologist archaeologists, I'm sorry,
sitting in archaeologists, what about archaeological, archaeological, archaeological, it's a
tough word, archaeological, that's it. Indiana Jones kind of guy

(02:41:56):
found that they have continuing to find things in that
same part of the country that.

Speaker 6 (02:42:03):
Greg it's so honted, it's haunted.

Speaker 3 (02:42:05):
Oh that's yeah, we're shutting down the site, going somewhere else.
The Inca Empire spanned from roughly fourteen hundred to fifteen
thirty three, and buddy, and of course when the Spanish
came into colonized, they got everybody sick of curses. But
how about the skeletons like sitting up like I mean

(02:42:26):
like looking at you. Yeah, one one one was empty
while the other held what they claim is a one
thousand year old skeleton. I know, Greg, youill question. Yeah,
it's like I'm just saying to be that old. And
then there it is, look right there, just looking at you. Man,

(02:42:46):
did you see that's a little person standing up for
that person. Does anybody think that that did not nerve something? Oh?
Somebody on the crazy infected? Oh yeah, yeah, they're there's no, no,
no question about this. Think about digging and then I'll
send it there and you hear something like Greg, what's that? Greg?
And you know one thing they found there an album

(02:43:08):
from Sheer.

Speaker 6 (02:43:16):
Definitely infected. They're gonna be like, hey, hey, Jim, are
you coming to coming with us to lunch? And he's like, no,
I'm just gonna hang by myself. And then you can
see like something weird in his eyes.

Speaker 3 (02:43:26):
You know, that's how it always starts. He's like, no,
I won't go. Yeah, now I'm not gonna go.

Speaker 6 (02:43:36):
Exactly.

Speaker 3 (02:43:37):
Well, start talking, start talking right there, Yep, yep, thank.

Speaker 6 (02:43:44):
You that school has just been sitting there for a
thousand years. I know, thank you for anybody else out.

Speaker 3 (02:43:50):
Yeah, does that you've you've unearthed it. I don't even
like the term unearthed the stuff. I don't want to
unearth anything. I am now free. Let's walk. What it
would be is he'll but he would hear the voice,
it wouldn't it wouldn't really be moving. He would hear
the voice. It would be talking to him, and everybody
would be saying, what do you But in his mind
he hears it talking, but it never really moves. It's

(02:44:11):
just nothing but a boy inside his head.

Speaker 6 (02:44:13):
And then it's he's like, go to the museum and
get the scepter. And then he has the scepter and
then he slaughters every dog in the city.

Speaker 3 (02:44:19):
Every dog. Does that skull have hair on it?

Speaker 6 (02:44:24):
I didn't want to go with I didn't want to
go with kids.

Speaker 3 (02:44:26):
I thought it was too dark, So with human adults
would be fine.

Speaker 7 (02:44:30):
Do you have the ability to zoom in on that? Yeah,
to the top of the head. Is that that hair
is that Yes, that's not hair. Hair can survival.

Speaker 3 (02:44:42):
That old thing has hair, and I don't think about.

Speaker 6 (02:44:47):
That's terrible.

Speaker 3 (02:44:54):
Great hair, but it's not better hairline than you, buddy. Yeah,
how about this Greg from text Nation. Also they found
unearthed Cam Newton's bag man. Yeah, and my wallet. When
we come back, we go unscreen phone calls.

Speaker 14 (02:45:11):
Dare we.

Speaker 3 (02:45:13):

the world is speed. He could narrate the audio book.

Speaker 3 (02:53:39):
You're all over there. Perfect. That would be about as

Speaker 16 (02:53:54):
Morning, man, Hey buddy, Hey, y'all, I'm coming from uh
here the Oxford, Alabama ed Hopson's Pond.

Speaker 3 (02:54:01):
Yes, yeah, yes, that's near where we grew up.

Speaker 16 (02:54:06):
Yes, I got a question for Greg burgersh movie questions. Okay,
all right, I was smoking a bandit. What was the
bandits first name? And oh old to Billy Joe wonder
Billy Joe jump off the teller, Hashi Bridge.

Speaker 3 (02:54:26):
I ain't telling that. What's bandit's first name?

Speaker 15 (02:54:29):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (02:54:31):
Is it? I don't know? And you think I would
know that?

Speaker 12 (02:54:34):
Greg?

Speaker 3 (02:54:34):
I know that Bo. Yeah, that's just Bo. I think
it is, Yes, it is? And why I think you up?
I ain't talking about Billy Joe. Mcallisner.

Speaker 6 (02:54:46):
Yes, the banded bandit's first name is Bo from Old Darville.

Speaker 3 (02:54:50):
You knew that. I don't know his name. Then I
know the show boorn name. I mentioned that in the show.

Speaker 5 (02:54:55):
This is the Rick Burgers Show, the hardest working men
in the business, The Rick Bridges Show, just.

Speaker 3 (02:55:10):
Out working the competition daily. Thanks for being with US
America and we got some a lot more time to
spend together. And we've had a great time visiting with
our vox seat yesterday. And if you missed into show today,
be sure you catch at archive. So on the last
unscreen phone call segment, so anytime someone calls from from

(02:55:33):
our part of the world where Greg and I grew up,
Calhoun County, and that one was really close because it's
close to even the house we grew up that way, Well,
somebody sent today an adler has it. So we when
we were growing up, we actually were in a small town.
It's a lot bigger now, but Oxford, Alabama. But we

(02:55:55):
did have a mall. Oh yeah, Quintard Mall. And let
me tell you if you don't think Greg and I
didn't it was all about that We're going to the
mall was a big thing.

Speaker 7 (02:56:04):
We all maybe get you an orange Julius and your
parents would drop you off, go I'll be back.

Speaker 3 (02:56:09):
Yeah. So somebody has settizza boy this old commercial from
the eighties about the mall where we grew up and Greg,
there it is you remember you remember that part of
the maves. Look at this, Please look there the great
Martin Greg. We only get Martin's and there there radio
shack red Hair. I forgot Please partner on this, but

(02:56:31):
come in and see what's happening in.

Speaker 19 (02:56:32):
New stores, old friends values every day, and believe it
or not, there's plenty of parking.

Speaker 3 (02:56:38):
Oh yes, I forgot about that. They did a remote there.
Oh yeah, that's that's that starting. That's the early two thousands,
are ye, And it tells how it grows the eighties.
That way back they would have had Almore's. You remember More.
I forgot about Aylmore and the Orange Julius. Oh, the
Orange Julius pizza boy. I didn't understand in the concept

(02:57:00):
of the Orange Julius. You're basically in Hell. You were
in Hell? Yeah, I mean it's like you wor they
decorated like you were in Hell. Somebody said, how we
want to make our little mall area, and I said,
I'm thinking about making it like Hell because Julius was
like a little devil. It was like a little devil
and you went in there and setting devil chairs. It
was pitchforks. They had this string called Orange Julius. Oh yeah, yeah.

(02:57:21):
Did I like it? Yeah? And I remember I guess
back on the I can't remember what year, maybe the
last decade of the torches of the Rick and Bubba Show.
We went on a search to see if an Orange
Julius still existed, and didn't we find something? So I think,
like you know how we combo everything. I think there's
a basket robin slash Orange Julius in some places or

(02:57:42):
they were Yeah, but this was the Orange Julius. Like
you said, the back of the chairs were pitch pitch
for there were pitchforks, and then you had like these
uh torches that went up and they weren't. Actually well,
I wish this commercial would have newisoms in it. Recnuissance Records.
Let me tell you something. And hey, when a new
record came out, if we weren't at Newsom's, there was

(02:58:03):
nothing you have do you have to go down to
Newshom's and get that new record? Then elmore is that
was a long time ago. You go in there and
get your model car. Oh yeah, so yeah, that's that.
That's when it started growing a little bit there. You know,
when you add a G and cee, you growing. But
but now it's kind of confusing now is in there
like a theater there or something. Yeah, yeah, that's is

(02:58:26):
it a is it a full is it a functioning
mall anymore?

Speaker 5 (02:58:29):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (02:58:29):
They they tore the part off where Brits was you
remember that, you know, And they built like you like
to walk up outside entrance. You know, they got some stories.
It's not to go inside like you still is that part,
but it's not the whole point. I got you. What
about pizza boy? We just don't talk about Pezacha boy boy.
Let me tell you when I went into Peaching boy
and went over to the juke box and played Beg's
jive talking, you couldn't do nothing with me. You're telling

(02:58:50):
me abowt to cupe on from Buy one, Get one,
And for some reason I thought I was sharp board
in Hamburger Pizza had the ground beef on. Yeah, I went,
you know myself, of course you did, but you had pennies, Ye, pennies.
It's still there, is it really? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah, we were.

(02:59:11):
That was the section, the original one that was. They
actually built that over the theater and on that later okay, yeah,
but when we were kids, it was just the one part.
So uh And speaking of music, uh, I know Speedy
sent it to you Adler. I know you and your
wife your Swifties especially you know, you know backup singer. Yeah,

(02:59:32):
you look your your Swifties. Okay, look a Swift, don't
tell that terrible story when you drove to the concert.

Speaker 6 (02:59:43):
Yeah, remember it, I did it.

Speaker 3 (02:59:45):
Ada. You have been driven to more concerts that you
weren't allowed to attend than anybody I've ever been. That's
pretty rare. But it's happened you more than more than once.

Speaker 6 (02:59:54):
It keeps happening.

Speaker 8 (02:59:55):
I don't know why, but yes, yesterday at twelve twelve,
I guess this morning, midnight, twelve minutes after midnight on
the twelfth.

Speaker 6 (03:00:04):
You know, Taylor Swift will do all this weird symbolism
with the releases.

Speaker 3 (03:00:08):
No, we didn't know that. We're not Swifties.

Speaker 8 (03:00:10):
And so her twelfth album is coming out and she
actually uh via a promo for the New Heights podcast,
which is the Kelsey Brothers podcast.

Speaker 3 (03:00:21):
It is, Yes, that's what it's called. Yes, I didn't
know what it was called Brothers or something.

Speaker 6 (03:00:27):
It's called New Hells a New Heights. Sorry I don't
know either, but it's the Kelsey Brothers podcast. She is
in this promo that dropped last night or this morning
at midnight, and uh, here you go.

Speaker 3 (03:00:38):
So I wanted to show you something. Okay, what have
we got?

Speaker 9 (03:00:42):
We got a briefcase?

Speaker 3 (03:00:45):
Yep, mid Green TRAVISYSI, Yep.

Speaker 24 (03:00:49):
This is my brand new album, The Life of a Showgirl.

Speaker 3 (03:00:53):
Yes, they had that. They were excited about it, Gregor
promise are you the older brother was not excited? Jason, Yeah,
he's funny to me. Do you see him? Have to
deal with it? And now as brothers got this weird girlfriend,
you know, I mean, it's a pretty famous got to watch.

(03:01:13):
That's the that's the logo for the Kelsey Brothers pot.
It's like a locker.

Speaker 6 (03:01:18):
It's an incredibly popular part.

Speaker 3 (03:01:20):
But it's like the color of a pack of gum.
I mean, it's a locker. I don't know a lot.
But that's not even like a good a masculine locker.

Speaker 6 (03:01:28):
Not everybody can have their face on it, you know
what I mean?

Speaker 3 (03:01:30):
But what is I thought it would be like a
locker like you'd have in a in a sports dressing room.
That looks like the locker you had in school. And
it's frankly when a girlhead, Yeah, you don't you know.
I thought it would be like a locker room on
played football. You would think that would be it, right.

Speaker 6 (03:01:45):
You're so you don't like the choice of the locker No, okay.

Speaker 3 (03:01:49):
No, I don't know why it's called New Heights. And
look at this logo that looks like it might be
on I hate to say it female products. Yeah, I'm
not being mad marketing this. Yeah, you're gonna take these
two former plays. You're gonna call it New Height.

Speaker 6 (03:02:01):
You know how it's honestly you talk about attracting females.

Speaker 8 (03:02:05):
You know who is listening to this in huge numbers,
and that's the Taylor Swift fans because they want to.

Speaker 6 (03:02:10):
Hear any kind of insight, any kind.

Speaker 8 (03:02:13):
Of insider thing that Travis has to say about Taylor
Swift's life.

Speaker 3 (03:02:17):
So what you're saying is, and we are we have
all married guys here. We got to add another person
who's single and see if we can get them dating
the Taylor Swift. Is that what you're saying to the show? Yeah,
we got.

Speaker 7 (03:02:29):
If they have three point one million followers on Instagram.
I have five hundred followers on Twitter.

Speaker 3 (03:02:37):
That's why it's called New Heights and has that look
about it, because that's they're going for that audience to
think about it across off her swift. Yeah, I guess,
so it have to be, I mean, and then they're
going to pick up you know, some people who like football.
But if you market it as a manly football thing,
then you would live some of the swift, no question,
no question about that. So uh, I understand that. It's

(03:02:57):
just it's a little shocking when you have to not
just kind of average football players, but to really really
good football players. I didn't expect that to be their logo. So,
I mean, that's all I'm saying. I understand it now,
but I didn't bring it.

Speaker 7 (03:03:12):
Yeah, that's what I was reading to They they were
brought up in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and so that's how
they got so ours would be.

Speaker 3 (03:03:20):
Called Boojer Drive. Yeah, and nobody'd have any idea what
it was. Yeah, right, but we probably would even get
the logo not to look like that though. Yeah, probably
far this, you know. But I mean, if you've got
if you're looking for the Taylor Swift audience and there
you got they just had. It's a big one. But
do they do they add or are you able to

(03:03:41):
retain them by not talking about what the Swifties want
you to talk about, or do they talk about things
they want to hear?

Speaker 8 (03:03:47):
You know, I think that the brothers do choose what
they want to talk about, but they also know that
they need to sprinkle in some to make the Taylor
Swifties happy.

Speaker 3 (03:03:55):
Yes, because I can set the trap, but can I
keep you? And so I guess there's worldfare if it didn't.
If they'll just drop in any it's enough. And this
is huge.

Speaker 6 (03:04:04):
Taylor Swift doesn't really do interviews like she doesn't have to.

Speaker 8 (03:04:08):
Well you would know that best, and so this is
huge for her to even sit down at all, much
less on maybe what might be an extended interview.

Speaker 3 (03:04:17):
And probably wouldn't do that if they weren't dating one
of the hosts. Yeah, yeah, that always happened. Are you
shocked there still together? Yes? I'm more shocked than that name.

Speaker 8 (03:04:26):
Will you guys mentioned it when they first got together.
She has been with all these artsy fartsy honestly, they
seem like very emotional and honestly they seem like selfish
guys when you when you kind of hear about their
when you look at their track record and you hear
about all the you know, Taylor Swift is gonna air
all that dirty laundry in her songs about how you know,

(03:04:47):
selfish they were or whatever, going back and forth, all
this stuff.

Speaker 6 (03:04:50):
You guys mentioned it. He seems like the most normal
dudes dude that she's ever been with, so in a
lot of ways, I'm not surprised that they're still together.

Speaker 3 (03:04:58):
At the end of it all. Women still want a
manly man, and he's at the end of it all.

Speaker 8 (03:05:03):
He's kind of normal, hes as normal as you can be,
and a NFL superstar, and a and hating arguably the
most famous person on the.

Speaker 6 (03:05:12):
Planet right now.

Speaker 3 (03:05:13):
Will she stay with him when he is retired and
is not prominent anymore.

Speaker 11 (03:05:19):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (03:05:19):
I don't know. Interesting.

Speaker 6 (03:05:22):
I hope that they get married and have kids. It
would be a great example for millions of kids. Honestly,
I know this sounds.

Speaker 8 (03:05:27):
Crazy, what Taylor Swift does, Just millions of girls do
what Taylor Swift does.

Speaker 6 (03:05:33):
Millions of girls do.

Speaker 8 (03:05:34):
I hope they get married, start going to church and
have a bunch of kids and raise them up in
the church.

Speaker 6 (03:05:39):
It would be it would be huge, It would be
it would be awesome.

Speaker 3 (03:05:42):
If they would do that, it would be Yes, that's
what I hope happens. That's what I hope. You know
what that's that isn't that is a great hope.

Speaker 6 (03:05:49):
We'll be right back and go back to quintarbin.

Speaker 5 (03:05:52):
Is the Rick Burgess Show, the mom who has never
been fashionably late to anything?

Speaker 3 (03:06:12):
Would you We're back, Thanks for being with us today, America.
As we worked through another one. So a couple of
things coming from text nation AB or somebody wants me
to ask you, have you seen the UFC deal? Is
there a new UFC deal? What's happening there? Yeah, this
is your world.

Speaker 6 (03:06:31):
The UFC has been on ESPN for a while.

Speaker 8 (03:06:34):
They've had this ESPN deal, and so you've got UFC fights,
there's like thirty of them a year. But then you
have the pay per view fights and those are the
numbered events. It's like UFC three or five, UFC two
ninety nine or whatever. Those are a pay per view
and those can be eighty bucks just to watch four fights. Now,

(03:06:56):
with this new paramount deal, evidently the Paramount deal, and
it's like a seven year deal for seven ninety nine
a month, you can not only get all the normal
fight nights, the UFC fight nights that's just your kind
of run of the mill fights.

Speaker 6 (03:07:08):
You also will be getting the UFC numbered events.

Speaker 8 (03:07:12):
What used to cost you eighty bucks per pop is
just going to cost you seven ninety nine a month,
and you'll get it all and some of these because
Paramount owns CBS, some of these fights will be on
the regular CBS network as well. But if you have
Paramount Plus, you'll be able to watch all UFC fights,

(03:07:32):
including pay per views, without having to pay that additional
pay per view this monthly.

Speaker 6 (03:07:37):
And that is absolutely huge. I think it'll be I
think it will grow the sport.

Speaker 8 (03:07:42):
And honestly, I had fallen off ordering every single UFC
pay per view for quite a while now. Number One,
I wasn't as interested in some of the fighters. Some
of the guys that I enjoyed watch come up, we're
kind of starting to fall off at the end of
their careers. And it is honestly tough to watch a
guy that you've really watched you come up the ranks
just get beat several times in a row.

Speaker 3 (03:08:02):
Especially.

Speaker 8 (03:08:03):
Yeah, and the I had major tech problems as well.
There were a couple of fights I really wanted to
watch and I was willing to pay for. I'm trying
on the UFC app on my Apple TV. I'm trying
to order it it. I retry, retry, retry, and I'm
missing fights. Now I'm done with this. Several fights in
a row that happened. It was very common people having

(03:08:24):
trouble with the ESPN app, and so I am very
glad that this is happening monetarily and for just the
tech problems I was having with the ESPN.

Speaker 3 (03:08:32):
It sounds like a UFC version of Apple Music. You
just pay one fee of month, you got access to
all of it.

Speaker 7 (03:08:37):
So to clarify, if you have paramount Plush, you get
this or is this a separate purchase if you like,
I have paramount Plush right now and you got it?

Speaker 3 (03:08:45):
Really, yes, just for what you normally pay.

Speaker 4 (03:08:48):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (03:08:48):
Yes, if you could somehow get Tyler, Swift and the
UFA together, you wouldn't know what to think. I didn't
you just explode?

Speaker 6 (03:08:57):
My goodness? Yes, I need to change my pants out.

Speaker 3 (03:09:01):
You know one thing you mentioned Adler about, you know,
helping people with huge platforms would actually get their act
together and be a good influence, you know, pointing people
to Christ. Did you see this today that I mean
we're talking about Portland, Oregon. Portland, Oregon, I mean one
of the most liberal blue places embracing everything under the sun,

(03:09:25):
that they actually hosted one of the biggest Christian gatherings
in decades. I mean, the biggest names in Christian music
went to Portland, Oregon and brought in thirty five thousand
people to watch it. We're talking about Chris Tomlin, Zach Williams,

(03:09:46):
Cain Ann Wilson, Carrie Joby, Cody Carnes, so and they
said they saw a response to the When it came
time for response, thirty two hundred people came forward to
make a declaration of their faith in Christ. So that's
kind of what you're talking about me, that you talking
about a place that's needed. And then and it shows

(03:10:08):
you once again it drew that kind of a turnout. Yeah,
I've seen pitches of that venue.

Speaker 6 (03:10:11):
Yes, that's a big p d X p d X
crew said, is what they called it.

Speaker 3 (03:10:16):
Yeah, So that's that's hopeful. Uh. Here's here's something that
needs to be dealt with too. You know, there's this
how dangerous is Washington d C in the fake world
or the real world?

Speaker 4 (03:10:27):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (03:10:27):
President Trump says, Look, we're we're we're going to have
d C under federal control. The National Guard is going
to be deployed because we're going to liberate these these
cities that crime has taken over the city. And Trump said,
enough of this. We've got to liberate our big cities
and free them from the the you know, the the
iron fist of crime and danger. Here he is talking

(03:10:51):
about starting right there in Washington, d C.

Speaker 24 (03:10:56):
And we're here for a very serious purpose, very serious.
Something's out of control, but we're going to put it
in control very quickly, like we did on the southern border.
I'm announcing a historic action to rescue our nation's capital
from crime, bloodshed, bedlam, and squalor and worse. This is

(03:11:17):
Liberation Day in DC, and we're going to take our
capital back.

Speaker 3 (03:11:22):
We're taking it back.

Speaker 24 (03:11:24):
Under the authorities vested in me as the President of
the United States. I'm officially invoking Section seventy forty of
the District of Columbia Home Rule Act, you know what
that is, and placing the DC Metropolitan Police Department under
direct federal control. And you'll be meeting the people that
will be directly involved with that. Very good people but

(03:11:48):
they're tough and they know what's happening, and they've done
it before. In addition, I'm deploying the National Guard to
help re establish law order of public safety in Washington,
d C.

Speaker 6 (03:12:02):
And they're going to be allowed to do their job properly.

Speaker 3 (03:12:05):
So of course the left immediately says, this is what
we warned y'all bodies trying to become king. But then
we have an ABC anchor, certainly not a conservative bastion there,
who breaks from the ranks of the left to say,
let's get real, DC is dangerous and something has to
be done. So here here's ABC anchor.

Speaker 19 (03:12:26):
As you talk about, oh, well, stats say crime is down. However,
I can tell you firsthand here in downtown d C
where we work, right here around our bureau, just in
the past six months, you know, there were two people shot.
One person died literally two blocks down here from the bureau.
It was within the last two years that I actually
was jumped walking just two blocks down from here. And

(03:12:49):
then just this morning one of my coworkers said her
car was stolen a block away from the bureau. So
we can talk about the numbers going down down, but
crime is happening every single day because we're all experiencing
it firsthand while working and living down here.

Speaker 3 (03:13:08):
Yeah, what what a weird concept. The actual state of
the city is actually actually you know, what is happening
to all of us that we can see, feel and
react to. She said, you can say whatever you want
to spin any way you want to. If you want
to know what's really happening, just live here. Yeah, and
and so this needs to be done.

Speaker 8 (03:13:29):
You remember when during Biden's administration, the FBI was not
releasing the crime and murder rates from the biggest cities
so that they could say, no, it's actually down. They
were literally not reporting New York, Chicago, LA. They weren't
reporting it and then claiming it was down. Scott Jennings
says that the DC police are also cooking the books
on crime stats to hide just how bad it is.

(03:13:51):
And Trump went on to say that he wants to
get rid of these the no cash bail, immediately releasing
violent criminals back on the streets, and so form of
social justice, like what are we doing. We are sacrificing
the safety of people for the rights of criminals to
do crime like this can't happen.

Speaker 6 (03:14:11):
And also sanctuary cities need to go.

Speaker 3 (03:14:13):
Yeah, yeah, so there you go, more action being taken,
and you know, some of these cities, it's so bad
that you even have people who would normally be speaking
from the left going, we can't continue to try to
pretend something is happening that we all can clearly see
and experience on a daily basis. So there's an update

(03:14:34):
on that too, So thanks for being with us. If
you're wrapping up anything you missed catching on the Daily Archive,
