Speaker 3 (02:38):
By the way, speaking of that, over the weekend, in
the Asian world, and let's be honest, in the Asian world,
let's just get this We've talked about. It's open. We're honest.
You see someone who's Asian, I mean, can you see
them and go Vietnamese, Japanese, Chinese. I kind of can
pick Korean. I can pick Koreans. You can't pick Korean.

(03:00):
I got the Korean. Look. Sorry, this makes you uncomfortable.
I know, I really think I can. It's cheekbone.

Speaker 4 (03:06):
So, so are you Chinese or Japanese?

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Sunny honey, But I'm from Laos.

Speaker 4 (03:12):
I'm from Laos and then there so are you Chinese
or Japanese?

Speaker 3 (03:19):
That's but anyway, So I saw something happen, So I know,
raise your hand. If your wife gets her nails done
a lot, ye, see Sherry has she tried to explain
it to my mom yesterday. It was Sherry's birthday weekend
celebration all weekend long. It was Marty Sherry, three days

(03:42):
of nothing but celebrating her birth. But anyway, and I
kept pretending that John Thomas called me, which we got
old over the weekend. Apparently sure sure, Oh, I just
got to text from John Thomas. All right, so hello Rick,
this is John. I am so hoping. But anyway, so uh,
I said, I can't lay John down this weekend. But anyway,

(04:04):
so you'll hold me accountable. Uh, But anyway, we she
has a apparently, ladies out there, you'll know, I don't
know what she's talking about. She brings up a lot.
I usually just nod, uh that she has a fingernail
that has some kind of flaw that it splits all
the time. Okay, and so she has to go a
lot because it has to be repaired over and over

(04:26):
and over again. She has a does that make any sense?
I know, fingernail. I know that I know that your
wife worked in that world at one time. Maybe share.
But anyway, apparently that means she has to go have
her nails done on a on a reoccurring more than
most women. Her frequency, her frequency is a little hot.

(04:48):
And so anyway, so when you when you go to
get your nails done, I mean most of the time.
I'm not saying every time. I mean, there's Terry, she
did it for a while. She's clearly, you know, not Asian.
Uh but thank you, But there's not. But she will
say I'm sure the Neil salons that don't aren't Asian.
I wouldn't say a lot.

Speaker 6 (05:08):
I would there's there's quite quite a few, not a lot,
a couple.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
Most of them. The Vietnamese have got the corner market
on this.

Speaker 6 (05:16):
Yeah, I didn't say that, but there's a lot of
American owned Neil.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
Salon may be owned, but a lot of a lot
of the workers are normally you're gonna it's it's a
high number of Vietnamese. Yeah. So anyway, so Sherry has
this place she goes, and it's almost one hundred percent Vietnamese, okay,
ready to probably probably probably is one hundred percent. And
and there's like the guy who who runs it reminds me.

(05:42):
I mean, he's very very gregarious, he's he's very loud,
he's a cut up all the time. And and Sherry,
you know, he knows Sherry when he sees her, and
I mean he gets tired up, and you know, because
he knows he's about to run that card again. Split
now back. So then we fixed it. Yeah, and then
Sherry is Hello Sherry. And then Sherry has a has

(06:06):
a Vietnamese restaurant that she loves. Sherry loves the Vietnamese culture.
How about that? Okay, and she'll she'll when all else fails,
I know that's where I'm gonna end up. And I'm
still searching the menu for something that I can get
real fired up about. I've tried several things, okay, and
it's not bad. I mean, but it's not like you're
eating communist food right well one time, Well, no, you're right.

(06:29):
Uh so So anyway, so so we we tried to go.
You know how sometimes you forget that you're in a
different world now. So the two of the kids got home,
and one of the daughter in laws to see Sherry
this weekend and and Mom, we we had something. Mom
was there. So the one that lives in Atlanta, Brooks

(06:49):
Big Love Burgess. He comes in on Saturday. Of course
I knew, you know. She She's like, I think he's
he may ahead come Friday night. I said, don't gonna
happen to let that go. He's gonna off work, he's
have his hands full, it's gonna beat late. He's gonna
just say he's coming in the morning, and then he's
not gonna be here early. He's gonna be here in
the afternoon. Just go ahead and just know that. And
of course that's exactly I went. And so, but she's like, well,

(07:11):
let's go to a movie or so we haven't been
to a movie in a long time, and does so
we thought about all that. And so normally Sherry and I,
no matter when it is, we're eating, if we eat out,
we're eating it four okay, So we rarely, unless you're
not open yet, we rarely have any problem finding the table.

(07:31):
So we go to the movie at like four to twenty,
which that brings us. When we come out, we're hitting
the normal world on a Saturday, and she starts talking
crazy things like well, let's just go over and eat it.
So and So said, Babe, we're not gonna get in
over there. Do you realize it's like six point thirty
on Saturday night. It's real time. We're not we're not

(07:52):
gonna make it in there.

Speaker 7 (07:54):
What?

Speaker 3 (07:54):
And I started warning Brooks I said, we went up
the Vietnamese restaurant, just so you know. And so he's ut,
we walk up to the place. That was an insane idea. Uh,
we're looking at our our weight and I said, we're out.
So then we got to be really good and she
tries another one. I said, this is this is insanity.
So then we try another one hour and fifteen minutes, okay,

(08:17):
And of course I said something I shouldn't have said.
I'm like, well, what's these tables that are available? He goes,
those are called reservations. I said, oh, okay, think about that,
and I said a little bit of a shut up
juice for big Poppa there. Yeah, those tables are waiting
on people's reservations. We took Teared, who put the effort
in walking in here at six forty five. So anyway,

(08:37):
so we end up at the Vietnamese restaurant, of course,
and of course there's always a table for us there.
So so we're eating and I never it was so funny.
Sherry's looking past me to the door. I'm not. My
back's to the door, okay, Sherry and Big Lover on
the other side, they're looking at the door. Sure, he goes,
and it was so fun. She goes, Oh no, I swear.

(08:59):
She goes, My Vietnamese worlds are colliding. I said, what's happened?
She goes, The guy from the nel slone just walked
into the Vietnamese restaurant. Oh wow, she goes, I don't
know what to do with this. Better be good or
he'll call him out. And she was like, had I said,
hanging in there? I said, wow, so you're you're your
Vietnamese worlds are I mean, you don't know what? She goes, Wow,
I mean there's too much vietnames going on there. She

(09:20):
goes to the fact he's eating here. That's got to
be a good sign. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, and a
really great, a good, really good sign, Michelle, when you
coming back home and get your naw died, you know
like that.

Speaker 4 (09:31):
I'm like, here we go.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
He talked like that. Oh yes, I'm just telling you.
That's how I don't. Yeah, okay, the NFL cheerleader or no,
he runs a nel salon okay vikings, Yeah yeah, no,
hey runs the nelslon.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
Oh sure, yeah, okay, okay, we're talking about right, Thank
you god.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
Hey, But he's good.

Speaker 4 (09:55):
First I called it.

Speaker 3 (10:00):
And they never knew what I was ordering. How about
some foul what you know.

Speaker 4 (10:04):
Some pow?

Speaker 3 (10:06):
The suit thing? Are you mean five? I don't know
what I mean. The suit thing A lot of suit
though it's a big bowl.

Speaker 8 (10:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
This is the Rick Burchers show, Strange and Colors, the
new podcast from Rick Burchas get it no wherever you

(10:37):
get podcasts.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
So episode ten came out over the weekend Strange Encounters.
If you haven't caught it. We we take experiences and
strange encounters from you the audience, uh, and we walked
through them and all of them take us into different conversations.

(11:02):
But some very very interesting strange encounters covered in episode ten.
Some of you have already seen it. I've gotten some
comments from you, some emails, and some of you have
even decided you'll send in yours, which is great and
we appreciate that. So so anyway, check it if you
have not seen episode ten. We also unpack which you're

(11:24):
going to get on the strange encounters, you know, because
we're trying to prepare ourselves for a battle that we're in,
whether you want to be in it or not. We
keep getting that point.

Speaker 7 (11:32):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (11:32):
And there's certain things that that that we probably need
to avoid or be aware of the dangers. And one
of the emails takes us into what scripture says about
allowing your mind to be altered with alcohol or drugs
and and what what that can lead to. So, so, anyway,
catch that if you haven't already gotten it wherever you

(11:53):
get podcasts, And it's also on our YouTube channel. So
and thank you for the feedback. We're already getting on that.
Uh So, do we want to go down this davidly
Roth road? Uh so, No, I know we don't want
to do the one that that's on the The video
has an F bomb and it done. Now Yeah, Greg, Oh.

Speaker 4 (12:14):
I thought you're all going to talk about the pantsy.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
Well I saw that all right. First of all, Greg,
let's just let's just call it. Let's just call it
this video, the one Adder is talking about. A lot
of us have seen it, and it's it's hurtful. He's
I don't even think you would know if you didn't
hear the riff, and you did not hear the chorus,
you would not know. He was singing Panama okay, and

(12:40):
and and he was bad in his prime singing. He
was a rock star. He was the biggest star in
the world and all that, and I loved him and
the band, but he couldn't sing then. He really can't
sing now, really really can't. And it's unacceptable. Yeah. I
saw he's Tampa with the members somebody said had him

(13:01):
and it had scorpions current day Oh bad singing rocky
like hurricane. Oh my god, No oh no, yeah. You
should only be out there if you can pull it
off exactly. And I don't know that at Dave's age
he should have leather pants on and that type.

Speaker 4 (13:19):
I think they were like a fake leather because they
were just so thin. I've never seen leather so thin,
so so thin, leather plea.

Speaker 3 (13:29):
We did confirm though that I doubt which was true,
that David Lee Roth is Jewish. So the they're a
little snow, Okay, they're they're a little they're a little snow.
I just I've seen so many videos him doing Van
Halen songs, and like you said, if you if it
wasn't for the chorus, you wouldn't have any idea now
now and it gets in, it gets in this weird one.

(13:49):
Tell me that tell me the I did not ever
hear or see and don't want to. I don't think
the last time he went out with the guys, with
the Van Halen brothers when they kicked, when they killed
was on base. Yeah, they killed fifteen, kicking Michael Anthony
out and neglected to tell him. Yeah. Yeah, and he
forgot to give me a call. He said he understands

(14:10):
about it. Be sure would have liked to be told
about it. But anyway, ain't no problem. And now he's
gone with Sammy Hagar, yes, sir, from the you know
Van Hagar years and now they have their own deal
and they sound good, Yeah they do. Sammy still sounds good,
Michael Anthony still sounds good. David Lee Roth not so
much so, sad Evince Neil. They even showed him. Here's

(14:32):
what I don't get about events. Y'all got a rebirth
after the movie came out. Y'all got stadium tours. They
toured the world. So he should be okay money wise,
when you think I would and this, but he's still
out doing the Vince Neil band, really on his own
at smaller venues. And you tell him he don't feel good.
I mean the video, I mean, what do you do?
Surely he's got money, Well, you know. I mean they

(14:54):
had the big comeback. It's almost like even if you
spend all the money, you got it back on that tour.

Speaker 2 (14:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (15:00):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (15:00):
But there's a thing today with David Lee Roth that
apparently which I didn't know. He claims that that that
Sammy Hagar, you know, the two of them never cad
couch for each other. That Sammy Hagar claims that the
ghost of Eddie van Halen has given him a So
I've never heard this little Yeah, it's so.

Speaker 6 (15:18):
Sammy's song is called Encore thank You good Night, and
it was released earlier this year, and now he's Sammy Hagar.
He's playing amphitheaters and arenas capacity of up to about
twenty thousand, like Credit Union one, Amphitheater, Tinley Park. I
mean like really big, pretty pretty nice thingues David Lee Roth.
He's he's touring small venues capacity around twenty five hundred

(15:41):
to six thousand. Yeah, so it's a there's a big difference.
But I guess David Lee Roth was doing a show
last week and he kind of mocked Sammy Hagar, claiming
that he wrote a song from a dream of eighties
after Eddie's ghost visited him and he was. He was
on the mic and he kind of he kind of
poke fun a little bit. Now the video portion of

(16:02):
it has profanity, but this audio only version it had it.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
Has been edited outfanity. So listen, this is my channel here.
You almost all right?

Speaker 8 (16:13):
And Sammy described to the ghost of Eddie van Ellen
visited it and graced him for a song. It's on
the internet. But last night the ghost of Edgye Dan
Healing visited me at the hotel lay He said, Dad,
you know that song I gave here good? He said,
it's actually gonna gutta give Leada backwards.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
Uh did Sammy say that? I don't know.

Speaker 10 (16:39):
I didn't know that.

Speaker 4 (16:41):
Is he just riffing? Is he just trying to be funny,
you know, David riff Yeah he was.

Speaker 3 (16:47):
He was trying to be funny. But but the and yeah,
I will say this, that was part of his game.
His talk between songs was really entertaining. As you said,
he was one of the best, as you was one
of the best. As you said, He'll never be recognized
as the greatest vocalists of all times, all time, but
he will be recognizing one of the greatest front men
and rock band of all, no doubt, and you just

(17:09):
But now when you take away, see the problem with
not being able to sing well is that he looks
so cool. In their prime, it didn't matter and the
songs were so good you didn't care. But now when
you look like an older man and possibly fake leather
pants and you don't look cool anymore. Now all everybody

(17:31):
begins to notice is you don't sing that great because
you can't distract him with how your showmanship, because you
were the coolest guy in the room before, right, no doubt.
I saw him, not just with Van Halen a few times.
I'll send you too. We saw him in his solo
years when he first came out with Steve Vine Billy
Sheen and that was awesome and line and highly successful.
Oh yes, yeah, I saw that. I saw the first one.

(17:54):
I didn't see the second album I saw. I saw
both of them. I saw eat them and Smile, which
was great, outstanding Cinderella open up for him, Yes they did,
and the band as he said, and of course it's
cool and he was still cool and Adam, you would
have loved this. They opened up and just let Billy
Sheehan and Steve I show everybody in the drummer I
forget is now he was great to to show how

(18:14):
good the band was, and they stopped just I'm talking
about on the nose and Dave looks at the crag goes,
what do you think about the new band so far?

Speaker 8 (18:24):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (18:25):
It was great, but the but those days are going right? Yeah?
Yeah yeah? Look that one video everbok He's spitting out
of him and doing panama. I look at I look
at the lighting above him, Adler, and it looks like
it's just the lighting in the theater. He didn't even
bring his own gear.

Speaker 4 (18:41):
Okay, Plus he's got a tiktack in his pocket.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, all right.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
So let's let's talk about the opportunity that you've got
right now and involving the involving Frontier.

Speaker 8 (18:57):

Speaker 1 (20:30):
Sure you played a little ball, Rick Burgess.

Speaker 3 (20:37):
Miny New New We're back. Thank you America for being
with us for another Rick Burgers show, Brand New Day
brand new show, brand new week. And speaking of music,
and by the way, we did just hear the song,
and it is true that Sammy Hagar claimed it was
like something he said he was doing to close that

(21:00):
after his life, and he did feel like it was
inspired by Eddie van Halen. It was a pretty good song.
And it was a good song. And was that Joey.

Speaker 6 (21:10):
He is?

Speaker 3 (21:11):
I didn't know Michael Anthony. Now I knew Michael Anthey
was in so Joe Satriani is the guitar player of
and that's who helped Sammy write the song too. Yeah,
and and let me tell you, Adam, have you heard
this yet?

Speaker 4 (21:23):
I just just heard what y'all are playing.

Speaker 3 (21:25):
It sounds a lot like the style of Eddie van Halen.
And he was saying that this is kind of a
was inspired. It was inspired, And he didn't said ghost
of it.

Speaker 6 (21:34):
He said that right, he said in an interview Sammy
did that it turned heads. Actually that's what the writer said.
He had written a song inspired by a dream he
had had about Eddie van Halen, and then he got
Joe to help him write it, and then Michael Anthony
and others. You know, he was on bass and all that.
So anyway, he goes on to say, this song is

(21:56):
my final bow to that part of my life. He said,
it wasn't meant for anything more than just to thank
you with love and respect with one and I'm editing
here one heck of a guitar solub about that.

Speaker 4 (22:13):
Joe Satrian.

Speaker 3 (22:15):
Can we play a little bit of it?

Speaker 4 (22:16):
Yeah, yeah, let it go. I'll cover it now.

Speaker 3 (22:19):
We're not gonna play a lot of it. Yeah, what
do you want it to start? Rick? Do you want
to hear that that solo at the very beginning? Yeah,
it sounds so much you're talking about the very very beginning. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (22:29):
It goes on for about a minute.

Speaker 3 (22:32):
Like this, It just goes on and does that sound
like eight hours so clean?

Speaker 11 (22:41):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (22:41):
Yeah, that goes on for a while and then it
cranks up about riots here yeah, and then it goes
on and then it breaks down again here.

Speaker 3 (23:09):
Oh that's good.

Speaker 2 (23:10):
That's good.

Speaker 3 (23:11):
Sammy's good. Yeah. And by the way, Sammy's seventy something years.

Speaker 6 (23:15):
Old, yes, yeah, and Greg had had him at eighty.

Speaker 3 (23:17):
I don't think he's he's he's he's in seventy, he's
mid seventies. Yeah, I mean, what's he's.

Speaker 4 (23:23):
Been doing it for a long time. In official age
is Oh my goodness, seventy.

Speaker 3 (23:29):
Seven, seventy seven and he's still silz yeah and playing
and like we said, still he sounds strong. Of course
he had his own I mean when he was in
Montrose and then you had all the Sammy uh solo
solo stuff. We used to play a lot of it
the band we were in. Oh yeah, yeah we did.
All right.

Speaker 4 (23:48):
Uh, this is weird that y'all are talking about this.
Sammy Hagar came across my social media feed this past weekend, y'all.
Do y'all remember the song from nineteen seventy seven called
Cracking the World? No, I do not, all right, So
it's Sammy Hagar song called Crack in the World.

Speaker 3 (24:02):
Never heard, do not familiar with it?

Speaker 4 (24:04):
And it's like it's going viral right now on like
conspiracy theory that side of the internet.

Speaker 3 (24:11):
That's why it hit your Yes, that's why I why,
That's why I saw it.

Speaker 4 (24:15):
So in seventy seven or so, the song comes out
and says, just fifty more years, we're all gonna know why, when, where, how,
and who gets to go? They're splitting up the world.
Some people are in, some people are out. It's it's
let's have a good time before the great divide because
things will start separating come twenty twenty five.

Speaker 3 (24:34):
Oh oh.

Speaker 4 (24:38):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, there's a crack in the world. There's
a crack in the world. Is the name of the song? Wow,
Hagar seventy seven?

Speaker 3 (24:46):
Don't remember that one?

Speaker 1 (24:47):
Okay, well he might be right.

Speaker 3 (24:49):
So back during the cover band days, when we were
doing originals mixed with covers, we did a lot of
Sami stuff.

Speaker 12 (24:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (24:56):
And then when I was you know, Controversy and I
went on as a solo singer. You and I and
I and I picked up of course the band of
course a lot of you remember Vindicator, uh, and I
remember that we did a lot of Montrose. We did
Montrose stuff, which is cool, yeah, bad motor scooter, rock Candy,
and then then Vindicator. Then it then broke away into

(25:19):
the first version of Mister Luck. Yeah, because we were
doing Mantro still in Mister Blake.

Speaker 4 (25:25):
I got that.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
That was when the guitar player for Vindicator, who was,
by the way, very good, died of chicken pox. I
know he was really good.

Speaker 4 (25:32):
I need to give Montros more because I mean, I
know this. I know Bad Motor Scooter the title of
the song. I don't think I.

Speaker 3 (25:38):
Could great sing it. Great, great song.

Speaker 4 (25:41):
I need to give it more.

Speaker 3 (25:42):
It's not as good as Rock Candy, but it's good.
But what about Rock the Nation that one? I don't
know that, Okay, but we used to do Bad Motor
Scooter and Rock Candy. That's the ones we covered. Probably
shouldn't be saying that, but that was saying that we

(26:03):
do not play them at Man Church, Okay, gotcha. We
made a slight run for I Can't Drive fifty five
and I think we played it like twice, like we're
not so so. When you and I were in the
Silent Rain, we did heavy Metal heavy Metal by Sammy
Hagar and in Love Again fall in Love Again. We
did that very really well. And that was always our

(26:24):
sound checks, some because I had all the instruments and
background in it. And what was the other one? Doom
that the yeah one way to rock. Yeah, we did that. Yeah,
that was usually our opener. Yeah. If you weren't ready
for that, you didn't even look out because we come
out going crazy doom, don't don't don't you guys? This

(26:44):
only one way?

Speaker 4 (26:47):
Oh oh I was doing. I was doing a c
DC one way to the top.

Speaker 3 (26:50):
If you want to rock and roll, no, there's only
one way to rock. As a matter of fact, Van
Halen when they would do some Sami stuff, they would
do that one.

Speaker 4 (26:56):
Yeah, when you go to a concert, there is a
formula that I do think a lot of artists follow
with what you were talking about. You open with a banger, right,
A banger is a good song that and I've noticed
this that artists will use this formula, and that is
you open with your second best song and you close

(27:17):
with your best song.

Speaker 3 (27:18):
Yeah, so you better be there for the.

Speaker 4 (27:20):
Beginning and you better be there for the end.

Speaker 3 (27:22):
That does happen a lot.

Speaker 4 (27:23):
I have noticed that you're like whoa. It comes out
of the gate, You're like whoa.

Speaker 3 (27:27):
Well it kind of goes back to you know, and
then at the end.

Speaker 4 (27:30):
You're like whoa again.

Speaker 3 (27:33):
It's almost like we were thinking before the days of
where we are now. But the concept of that was
especially for us because when you're out and you're an
unknown band, you know, for these guys and everybody knows,
but when you're unknown, you have to the audience isn't
now Once you get go in and get a following,
gets a little easier. But a lot of times you

(27:55):
play places and these people don't know who you are,
and they don't have any loyalty to give me a lot.
They don't have any loyalty to you at all, So
you better do something quick that makes them buy in.
And so that's the way we approach it. Yes, And
it was a song that also because we were all
we were wireless back when everybody wasn't wireless yet, and
so our whole deal was we wanted to I mean
the band was good. I was average and as a singer,

(28:17):
but kind of like Dave, I could I could at
least well most people are, but I mean I could.
I did my role of, you know, making sure everybody
appreciated the band and interacting with the audience, and that
was kind of what I was there for showmanship. But
what we wanted to do is we wanted to come
off the stage into your face song one, and we're

(28:38):
running all over the place and so you know, and
everybody say, oh wow, these guys are not just gonna
stand up there and look at your shoes and play.
I mean, they're they're, they're, they're, they're they're here.

Speaker 4 (28:46):
Hey, that's amazing, right wireless Yeah, no wire And of
course there was always the talk of those were the
early versions that they didn't sound as good and we
were losing something.

Speaker 3 (28:56):
But we're like, yeah, but we can run over. I
couldn't afford a really good waters mic, so I wouldn't great.
But it was okay, you know, it got their job done.
I think what was the brand? It was like some
it wasn't even a real brand because the park a
lot could We couldn't we could? Uh, but you know, so, yeah,
you especially if you are having to earn an audience's attention,

(29:19):
you need to hit them with something on that opening song.
Oh yeah, you don't want to save you know you
want to And what we thought that showed that song
did was it shows you the type of band we were.
I mean at that point you go, oh, so, this
is what we're in for tonight. And then you went
from so and speaking to that. Uh, if those of
you there that enjoy music and enjoy you know, listening

(29:40):
to our podcast version of the show or whatever the

when we come back.

Speaker 1 (31:17):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Enjoy the best moments
of the three decades of the Rick and Bubba Show

Rick and Bubba's Greatest Hits Podcasts episode thirty, So thirty
episodes for you to go back and reminisce, and you
so desire uh is you enjoyed the past but also
excited about the present and the future. So all of

(32:06):
that happening in real time. So we thank you for
being with us today. Well, I mentioned it going to
the break. Let me tell you, Greg, thank you for
reminding me of any given Saturday on Netflix. I'm all
over it. Yeah, I watched uh the third one last night. Yeah,
I think I'm on episode I watched episode four. I'm
want ahead of me, want ahead of me. I'm the
one with Bama gotta beat by Vandy. By the way,

(32:29):
if you forgot about that moment was unbelievable. Yeah, yeah,
that was a bigger deal. By the way, and you
think about Pavier, I'll tell you he's about unathletic looking
what what?

Speaker 7 (32:41):
What?

Speaker 3 (32:41):
A good little hustler?

Speaker 6 (32:43):
Yeah yeah, I mean, does not forget he just got
another year of eligibility.

Speaker 3 (32:46):
He's been like eight years. Listen, I'll tell you what again.
I'll tell you what we forgot about Baddler because it's
based on college football from last season. For those who
don't know one or in the SEC. The one thing
we forgot about is there a few points for really
making an incredible run. They really it was more than
just Beam. They they came along with really and and

(33:08):
should have won. Who was the next game after they
should have won that one? I mean it was a
real close, was it?

Speaker 9 (33:12):
L s U?

Speaker 3 (33:15):
They lost by like three points and turned the ball
over that three times? They were in every game. Yeah,
So I was.

Speaker 6 (33:20):
Talking college football with some of my boys, my sons, yesterday,
I said, can you believe I mean, I know this
weekend is there's not the marquee games. I mean, I
think we got Iowa stake in Kansas State and all
that going on. But where mean college football's here. I
mean it's here, and high school football for a lot
of people start having already it starts this week.

Speaker 3 (33:43):
So I mean, it's it's on now. You know what, guys,
just go ahead and call it it's Christmas. So yeah,
so there's some good series out there finding some good things.
That one, that one is a good one. I told
you I watched the one Wishbone off ESPN. That was good.
It was Texas rick Texas. You're right, twenty seven, twenty

(34:03):
four exactly. They almost beat Texas and Alabama two weeks
in a row.

Speaker 4 (34:06):
Well it was it was Bama, then they beat Kentucky,
then they beat Boston.

Speaker 3 (34:09):
But then you're right, the next big game, Yeah, you're right. Yeah,
you're right, because they showed those two because so that
was I mean, they were they were right there with everybody. Yeah.

Speaker 13 (34:18):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (34:19):
And I was able to be with at the when
Georgia Tech and Vandy played, and that was a great
crowd of protective that was the.

Speaker 3 (34:27):
Game to a really good game. So but ESPN had
another little docuseries they were going to do, uh, and
they said they have candidate and they're using the term
certain creative differences. Who would have thought you would have
to can a docu center series over certain creative differences

(34:48):
When the topic was Colleen Kaepernick, Wow, the drama queen.
As much stuff they've led him, say publish, this must
have been really may do you think who was the
person in the conference room again, guys entertaining a possible
docu series about what we're thinking, Colin Kaepernick, let's bring
all that back. I think I would have been like,

(35:09):
you don't want to get into that drama. I mean,
that's gonna be drama, drama, drama. So it's been canned,
so I know a lot of you are looking forward
to it. They're saying that they have collectively decided to
no longer proceed with this project because of these certain
creative differences. Yeah, they will. They won't tell us what

(35:30):
those are. They just say they appreciate everybody who tried
to collaborate on it. And this is a nice way
of saying, we could not handle the high maintenance of
this person.

Speaker 6 (35:40):
Well not only that, but one of the producers was
quoted saying that we're just going to make stuff up.

Speaker 3 (35:44):
Is that what we're doing? Oh so really, no, I'm
just kidding. I made that.

Speaker 6 (35:48):
Okay, okay, but that's probably about it. So we're just
going to keep pushing this.

Speaker 3 (35:52):
Yeah, so so that that is that has been canned.
So I know a lot of you out there you
must be heartbroken over all that. And but the one
thing I haven't done back to the NFL is because honestly,
I'm a little overwhelmed. That day, I sat down and
realized that I had a freedom to go to the
TV and I could watch the Wishbone documentary, which I did,

(36:14):
and then start watching any given Saturday, which I did.
And then I start thinking, I haven't even I haven't
got the hard knocks. Yeah, I know, I mean I
think they got.

Speaker 6 (36:22):
I think the Bills got blown out this weekend, didn't
they I looked at halftime the Bears were beating them
twenty something to nothing.

Speaker 3 (36:28):
Oh, I mean, I know, it's anything. Really, I tell
you what it's weird is when you're thinking about preseason,
which is why preseason is so odd. It's like I
forget which quarterback it was. They the team said the
quarter it was one of these they've been working with.

Speaker 10 (36:45):
Who was it?

Speaker 3 (36:46):
But anyway, that he played so well and was doing
so well in practice, he wasn't going to play in
the preseason game. So that in that weird and preseason
you're rewarded for doing well by not being in the game. Well,
you know, because they don't think you need the rep. Yeah.
I think because somebody was saying they think it was
a mistake that Aaron Rodgers is not playing in the press.

(37:07):
I think he should be. He needs the reps. Yeah,
I've saw somebody criticizing that, thinking, so I don't know
how all that's going to go.

Speaker 4 (37:15):
I think they should give him an American flag to
and run out with it.

Speaker 3 (37:19):
Let's redo that one. Let me tell you something. Blaze
TV pulled the clip off the show. I guess you
gave it to him. Matter whatever about Speedy talking about
the the male cheerleaders in the NFL and and your
lying about that, it just I mean.

Speaker 4 (37:35):
Blacked out.

Speaker 3 (37:36):
I don't want Well you were talking about because you
always wanted to be great.

Speaker 4 (37:40):
You had a great actual talk about it.

Speaker 3 (37:41):
Yeah. Well, and the reason why I was. And by
the way I found out, you know, the Patriots have
is it's as uncommon is they're not doing like college
the male cheerleaders, where they are masculine and they do
the setting and the throwing of the cheerleaders and all
that they're they're actually getting out there and dancing the
same way a professional and using the term cheerleader popom

(38:06):
the dance line. They're dancers, their dance lines. And these
men to come out there and do the same dances
as these ladies do, and they're effeminate and some are
actually better than the lady. And you were saying that
you if you picked the wrong seat. Yeah, I mean,
and you know, why why do I have to go
to an NFL game with my grandson and sit there
and and all of a sudden, here this guy is

(38:28):
sticking his button my face.

Speaker 6 (38:29):
Yeah, you know, you know, I was working out with
Hoby on Thursday and he said, do you remember a
couple of years ago? He goes, because, like y'all said,
this isn't new, but just seems like everybody's in now.
I don't know what the NFL is trying to do this,
but well I do, but uh, he went to a
Saints game and he said, that scenario you you gave
out on air was what I was in with my boys.

(38:51):
I sat down at a Saints game and there it
is right in front of me the whole time, and
questions the whole game from sure, you know, and it's like,
what what, let's just add let's add let's add the
receipt up. Okay, tickets, concessions, a lot of parking, swag
time time, you know, yeah, busy schedule. I have finally

(39:14):
sat down and that's that, and that's what that comes.
That's right there in front of me.

Speaker 3 (39:20):
There you go, I know, and because it's not like
that again, you're seeing this is going to be it's
really going to be like what it would be like
to be standing on the road and Al Suddenn lgbt
Q parade went by, you know, and there's all that,
there's all that gy rating and moving and shaking, and
you're just like, this doesn't feel like a family event.

(39:41):
It's bad enough that the women are doing now you've
got a guy doing it too.

Speaker 6 (39:45):
But you know, as can we let women just do
anything by themselves. So again, so again a man has
to go, no, I can be a better cheerleader than you.

Speaker 3 (39:54):
I'm gonna take your spot the top of the hour.

Speaker 1 (40:00):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. You better listen up.

Speaker 2 (40:17):
No what we say, ass I'm in a nail.

Speaker 3 (40:22):
You gotta find.

Speaker 1 (40:27):
Yeah, broadcasting from the real world, The Rick Burchers Show.

Speaker 3 (40:35):

by the way, some of you at some of you

so I know we're we're gonna talk about it openly

(40:57):
Fry on the tether dot. So we do have that
coming up a little bit later on the game's all
here speedy, Greg and Adler. As we work our way
through today's show, a little heads up out there for
those of you that might be interested. Guys, we have

(41:17):

this week in four different places. I will be speaking
Lord Willing coming up on Saturday night, five pm local
time at Rincoln Church of God and rink And Georgia.
So I will set out to come see you guys.

(41:40):
Looking forward to that on Saturday night. On Sunday, here's
three man churches. I'll be in Tuscaloosa, Alabama speaking to
First Baptist Church. We're gonna start there at five as well.
They're gonna have a meal for you. Let's like catfish,
hush puppies and fries. Hey, come on, it's free, and
then I'll get a chance speak to the guys. So, uh,

(42:01):
that's in Tuscaloosa on Sunday, First Baptist Church. Also Sunday
Ocilla Baptist Church and Oscilla, Georgia. Steve Wright is there.
And then in Rainsville, Alabama, Uh, Andy Blanks at Nazareth
Baptist Church. So those are all this week and if
you want to find those details, go to the manchurch
dot com under events. Uh speedy, I mean, we all

(42:24):
had a weekend. You were telling me you entered into
the world of and it really is. It's it's some
it's a it's a it's a skill set that a
husband apparently supposed to have. It's not it's not easy.
It no, And that's the ability to read minds, right, yeah, yeah,
you have to support Yeah, you have to be able

(42:45):
to read your wife's mind. Yeah. And if you if
you can't. You're going to struggle. No, you're gonna get you.
You're not easy to read a mind.

Speaker 6 (42:54):
We found ourselves down towards your your neck of the
woods with the farm and Beautifull Children County. Yeah, and
we went down there, had some things to do and Saturdays,
she was invited to a baby shower. Uh and uh,
you know the Leonora's the Will and Philip, the two sons,
Will and his wife Kelson are about to have their

(43:16):
baby boy, and they had little baby shower and Terry
was invited. So she said, hey, why don't you Saturdays.
We were thinking about it. Saturday, ride down and just
take me, drop me off and you can go see
Tommy and Dale and and you know for a couple
of hours and then uh and then you know, kind
of have it have a day. And I'm like, yeah, sure,
that's fine. You know that I hurt and uh, well

(43:39):
it was fun.

Speaker 14 (43:39):
You know.

Speaker 6 (43:40):
We rode down together and she's all, you know, she's
all ready to go, and she's excited.

Speaker 3 (43:44):
Drop her off and I'll be down the road.

Speaker 6 (43:46):
Just text me when's time to visit with Tommy and
his daddy.

Speaker 3 (43:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (43:49):
So we did, and sure enough, I get the text
after a couple of hours, Hey, come grab me if
you know when you get free, no hurry, So I did.

Speaker 3 (43:57):
I went by and she jumped back in.

Speaker 6 (43:59):
The are and she's talking about how what of a
good time she had and everything, and so I kind
of come out, go right and head towards the interstate.

Speaker 3 (44:06):
A couple of miles down the road and jump up
on the.

Speaker 6 (44:09):
Interstate and you know, you got to check traffic because
my gracious, it might be a parking lot. You never know, sure,
And so I'm head up on sixty five North, headed
back to the home.

Speaker 13 (44:18):
Home.

Speaker 3 (44:19):
Every fun time. Yep, my wife's been to a baby shower.

Speaker 6 (44:23):
Yeah, here we go. Here we go, headed back home,
get up to speed on the interstate. And I mean,
we're just having a great time, you know. And I'm thinking,
you know, we had had we hadn't had lunch or anything.
You want to grab some lunch or whatever, and and
she doesn't respond. I'm like, what's up. She goes, well,
so I guess we're not going to ride around and
and maybe, you know, just kind of she loves to

(44:44):
get out in the country and just ride around. And
you know, I love barns and see farmland and and
just kind of that she loves that area. So we're
not going to ride around more like kind of take
the back roads home. And I said, what are you
talking about? I love you know, I'm really up to
speed now. I'm up to speed. Now I'm getting in
the left lane and you know, passing a truck or two.

(45:04):
And I said, what are you talking about? She said, well,
I mean, I guess we're not going to I guess
we're not going.

Speaker 9 (45:09):
To do that.

Speaker 6 (45:10):
And I said, what do you mean we're not going
to do that? You know now the fun time has
now changed right now, it's like, what.

Speaker 3 (45:16):
Are you talking about? In trouble because you didn't have
the ability.

Speaker 6 (45:18):
Yeah, yeah, she said, well, I just thought that we
would ride around and enjoy ourselves and have kind of
an afternoon. I mean, I don't know why you in
a hurry to get back on And I said, well,
I'm not in a hurry to get back. I just
thought that's where we were going. I didn't know. I
had no idea that's what you wanted to do. Well, yeah,
I guess I should have said something. And I said,

(45:40):
I said, well, yeah, I guess, so I said, now
I can get right back off this next exit because
childon County it has a couple of exits. And I said,
matter of fact, you know Bonn's barbecues right here, I said,
I said, I can get off that exit and spin
left and and show there we can get off back.

Speaker 3 (45:59):
In the country.

Speaker 4 (46:00):
You know you had to exit and double back.

Speaker 6 (46:02):
And she said, well out, I don't worry about it.
And I said, oh no, no, I said, you ain't
dealing with the rookie.

Speaker 3 (46:07):
Here we go on countryside.

Speaker 6 (46:11):
I said, because I have no where I need to be. Yeah,
and we got well, I don't know why you're getting
off this exit. Well you don't, because you don't. You
just said that you wanted to.

Speaker 3 (46:22):
Now you got to help. Yeah, come on, sweet, these
games they.

Speaker 15 (46:26):
Play you and your cute little stelf over there dressed
up like you know, baby shower and exactly dressed for
going out and you know, looking at it firmly. Yeah, right,
and uh and she said, well, you know she loves
I don't know if your wives are like this. Uh,
we're not moving, but she loves to look at property
for sale or a home for sale.

Speaker 6 (46:45):
And oh, there's this little house here. And I said, honey,
you should have gotten in real estate. You have a
passion for this, you love it. Well, no, I don't
really care, I said, honey. You by memory, you do,
not having to look at a website. You know what's
for sale and where it's for sale. And slow down,
slow down, Oh that's look at that cute little house
right there. And I could see ourselves living there, I said,
you could, really, I go through that with.

Speaker 3 (47:07):
Lake property, every back road around cropwell right right, you know, well,
I don't know why property is.

Speaker 6 (47:14):
Yeah, I don't know why you got off. Well, well,
I'm gonna tell you this right now. Now, if if
if we were been married for a year, that that
that speed, he might have gone on home, but not
this newe wait wait country right now. And I'm and
I you know what, and let's let's have a good time.
I just didn't know, honey, you.

Speaker 3 (47:30):
Just and you didn't know. Why Why didn't you know?

Speaker 6 (47:32):
Because she didn't say anything right, so and I can't
read mine right, and she had she was never tried
to read the mind. No, it's it's not easy, right,
and she was not like she just seemed a little
disgusted that I didn't read rid of mind. But then
after she said, yeah, I guess I should have said something.

Speaker 2 (47:54):
Now.

Speaker 6 (47:54):
That was the joke, you know, And I would say, hey,
I'm gonna slow down. But I know you didn't tell
me that, but I know that's probably what you want
to do, did you know?

Speaker 3 (48:02):
She started to laugh. How many hours did it cost?
About an hour and a half. Wow, And we doubled around.
Let me just tell you by Campous show in Shore Campouse.
I didn't know. We weren't in my truck.

Speaker 6 (48:11):
We were in her, her little four door, and so
I thought we might be bumping around a little bit,
getting all dusty and all that.

Speaker 10 (48:18):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (48:18):
So I didn't do that, but we rode close by.
Uh and buddy, let me tell you we I know
every house and farm it's for sale and Chilton County.
We rode up and down thorsby Jamison Isabella Oh Clanton.

Speaker 3 (48:34):
Yeah. The car, the car, that's what you're looking for.
At times the car was like what the you know?

Speaker 16 (48:39):
I mean?

Speaker 3 (48:40):
But let me just tell you.

Speaker 6 (48:41):
We had a blast together and got home late late afternoon.
Could have been home a couple of hours early, but
I didn't.

Speaker 3 (48:48):
You anything to do. But Greg kind of liked with Lisa.
She knows every everything.

Speaker 6 (48:52):
But then it says, oh no, I don't really, I
don't know. I don't have a passion for us.

Speaker 3 (48:57):
You don't have a passion.

Speaker 6 (48:58):
You've memorized every it's you know, and that's okay.

Speaker 3 (49:03):
But she just loves to Well, I thought we loved
I thought we'd ride around look at stuff. And I
know no way to know that. I'm just telling you,
young fellas, you better learn to read of mind.

Speaker 4 (49:11):
Yeah, you better get ESPN.

Speaker 3 (49:13):
Yeah, and if they bring up something like that, and
I'm like, you better just always thought at LISTA she
going to real estate? You're right, yeah, I mean it
sounds like her and carry out. Yeah, because she loves
to just go. And I don't know who she is.

Speaker 6 (49:26):
Because at one time she'll say we need to downsize,
and then the next thing she'll send me like some
farm that's.

Speaker 3 (49:31):
Way out of our price range.

Speaker 4 (49:33):
I'm like, what do you do?

Speaker 16 (49:33):
Who are you?

Speaker 2 (49:34):
Right?

Speaker 3 (49:35):
I just wanted you to see it. I'm downside on
the house, not the proberty. We were going to downsize
so many times, and now I've got a purgola. I mean,
oh yeah, yeah. There's there's city parks that are they're
jealous of you. I don't know what happened.

Speaker 1 (49:50):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the man who removed
the phrase what's You're no good?

Speaker 3 (50:10):
From society?

Speaker 1 (50:12):
Rick Burches, Thank.

Speaker 3 (50:15):
You America for being with us today. Speaking of great americanuns,
Mike Lindell and the Gang. You know, Mike has done
so many things. We know about my pillow, what a
success that's been. But you know, he's one of these
people that you know, he doesn't forget what it was
like to be an entrepreneur that was trying to get
a leg up. And of course he's been attacked because

(50:35):
of you know, he has the audacity to actually live
out his convictions and if somebody disagrees with his conviction,
he must be punished. But he's he has persevered through
all that. But he's also helping other entrepreneurs by creating
mystore dot com. Now, if you're looking to buy top
notch American made products from American owned company, he's a

(50:58):
great place to find over five hundred different products is
my store dot com. It's it's you're you're spending your
hard earned dollars with companies that likely align with your values,
and you don't always get that out in the big
box store world. And so mystore dot com you can

(51:18):
use the promo code big vox uh v vox as
in Victor, and you can see all these American entrepreneurs
as they bring their manufacturing back to the country and
their products directly to you through mystore dot com and
our code big vox is going to get you some
savings and it runs the gamut. I mean they've got

(51:40):
everything there. I mean bath and beauty, automotive books, home improvement,
household essentials, sports and outdoors, toys and games, back to
school stuff, all that my store dot com or Rick
Burgess Show dot Com under the sponsors. But so you know,

(52:00):
we're talking a little bit about the weekends and the
the wives, which we had a great weekend celebrating Sherry
and her birthday on Friday. Thank you for all the
well wishes and she had a great, great weekend. And
uh one of the things that happened, if you remember,

(52:23):
you got to be careful when you make a bold
move as a husband, you know, because if you make
a bold move and you get moved and you get
overly confident, you can get burned. So I never even
heard and I don't know if I'm saying it right,
Is Pergola right? Yes, yes, sir.

Speaker 4 (52:41):
You guys were saying it like it rhymed with Dracula,
but it doesn't rhyme with Dracula.

Speaker 3 (52:46):
Is it Pergola?

Speaker 1 (52:47):
Pergola?

Speaker 4 (52:48):
Yeah, Pergola, not Pergola like Dracula.

Speaker 3 (52:51):
It's not like that. Pergola.

Speaker 4 (52:53):
Yeah, Pergola?

Speaker 3 (52:54):
Is that right? Before before this came into the world. Yeah,
if you would have held a gun to me and
said what is it? You got to tell me, you said,
you said Dracula the same thing, we don't what is it?
And the thing that always I would have said, I
have no idea what that idn't that? The thing that
don't shoot me? The thing that confused me about it is,

(53:16):
I understand you're supposed to grow vines and stuff on it.

Speaker 6 (53:20):
Takes a minute. It's like a pavilion without a route,
but not take a minute.

Speaker 3 (53:24):
But why are we unfinished deck? I don't know why?
Why don't why is the top? Why is it not closed?
Because it's gonna be a long time for them.

Speaker 6 (53:33):
Yes, because the pergula is I'm saying, we're just we're
agitating always it. But because the vines and all that
the greenery is supposed to grow on it. Have you
got that's where the shade's coming.

Speaker 3 (53:46):
Have you got the vines? Have you planted them? Not yet,
But it's been about two summers before you ever get
the enjoyed.

Speaker 4 (53:53):
But anyway, it'd be nice to have shade in two years.

Speaker 3 (53:56):
And I have a reputation and not paying attention. I
don't know where this came from, but anyway, Sherry brings
it up. But look, and I have no idea how
big the area is where the we had a playground
in the backyard. You know, your typical swing set, the
little climb up in slide house and those things. When

(54:17):
we had all these kids running everywhere, and and then
somebody came in and made it nice. And they put
down the pebbles or the bark and and you have
some of these railroad ties that go around it and
make the area. And it was nice about to perk. No,
not this, So that's the space. Well, when the kids
all grew up and moved away, Sherry kindly gave all

(54:40):
that to some neighbors who still had small kids. Well
place that well, it left a big blank You were
looking at a big blank spot. Apparently and so I
fought hard and won the battle of the chickens. Oh,
that'd be a great place to put chickens. I said,
we're not doing chickens. And the only way that I
wont that, the only way that I won that was

(55:00):
telling Sherry it would bring more snakes in. I don't
know if that's true or not, but it worked, and
I said, you're gonna be. They're gonna be. And I
had some people fighting against me. She had some some
female friends that were talking about how much they like
their chickens. And I thought, I said, we're not building
the chicken could We're going we have you know what
chickens leave. They leave chicken noise. No more animals around here,

(55:24):
drop it, eat them droppings and stuff. And so I went,
I went, like a couple of years. I mean, that
thing's been empty for a long time. Then there was
that we're gonna make it a garden, all right, takes
wrong with just grass in the yard. Well, it's it's not.
You've seen it. It's a It was a bear spot
back there with now railroad ties around it. And so

(55:47):
apparently that's sitting there. You know what you need pergola apparently,
and you know, And I admit it was kind of
sad because there was a light put up there back
from when it was a play area. And have the
light that shines on an empty spot take a lot now,
I mean I thought that, you know, we did a
little fire pit near there, and now that brings her
attention to it. And and so she goes, well that
this looks terrible. It's an isore. And I said, well,

(56:10):
God forbid, there's an isore back there, and dow at
the bottom of the bottomyard right here on our day,
and at least we can get closer to that kid's
truck that's so loud but anyway, so talking about a
loud truck son, it's loud, but anyway. So the so
I thought I won. So finally she talks to some

(56:34):
people about the pergola. She saw one down at a
place she goes a nursery. She goes to, oh, look,
here's a pergola. And so anyway, and I didn't know
what it was. And when she first brought it up,
I thought, well, can we should we go see a doctor?
You know, do you have a purglar or you want
a yes? Anyway, And so first estimate outrageous, completely outrageous.

(56:57):
And now I had no idea how big therea was.
And so I won the battle. I said, Baby, that's out.
I love you. That's out. Ain't no way we gonna knew. No, no, no,
that's a. That's a that's dead on arrival. So I said,
I mean, if that's what it costs, then know. And
so she goes and gets a second estimate, which I

(57:18):
didn't know about, and it comes in at fifty percent less. Ooh,
and I'm like, oh, I'm in a buying now regular
me yeapula. So for I said, look, listen, you're gonna
it'll be like a lean to. Yeah, wonder you got
a great prize, right, So and I thought that what

(57:40):
I didn't know is they these people, they hit the
ground running and literally completely built it in three days.
What are they? Homish uh? I walked out there to
the guy, and I knew that I was in trouble.
I walked up through the guy. I hadn't ever even
been I didn't even walk down there. I started walking.
I said, my gosh, sure you this could be a house.

(58:01):
We should just move down here. If we're going downside,
let's close this thing in he look. He looks at me,
and I said, that's a big purgol and he goes, second,
the biggest one I've ever built. I said, what I have,
the second biggest purgolar you've ever built? Yeah, I ain't
never built. I got only one in my entire career,
we ever built bigger than this one. And I'm like,
this thing's enormous. You have to bat. I didn't realize

(58:22):
how big the area was that. It's like I wasn't
really paid attention to it. You better get your vines.
Oh yeah, well that's a big area to cover. You
better get so big. Like I said, there's city parks
that are jealous of your purgole. So they built it
and record time. And if they finished it on Sherry's birthday,
Oh wow, you put a bow on it. Put a

(58:43):
bow on it. Like look, and I don't know, I
know that it's only just begun, but do you go
stand under it?

Speaker 1 (58:51):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, still denying any involvement

(59:12):
in the food fights of nineteen seventy nine.

Speaker 3 (59:16):
Rick questions framed, framed, completely circumstantial evidence at advance. All right,
so we're working our way back. So a couple of
things you need to know. A new Strange Encounters came
out over the weekend, and a new Rick and Bubba's

(59:38):
Greatest Hits, all two new episodes on two new podcasts
this past weekend. Get those wherever you get the podcast.
So here's what I'm thinking now that this pergola has
been built, our percula whatever exactly right?

Speaker 9 (59:56):
Is that?

Speaker 3 (59:57):
Now I'm thinking I should have done the chickens because
I understand, I mean, this whisteria is going to grow.
That'll take about a year, I think. Then there's got
to be maintenance to it, right, Yeah, it'll get out
of hand, I mean, and all that. So then it's
like then there's always the pressure you get that your

(01:00:18):
wife is going to show you that this is a
joyful thing to celebrate and how it's just going to
be a gift to the family. And you know, I admit,
this looks better than what looked before, but I mean,
this is it's hard for me to picture this being

(01:00:38):
the center of the family universe now and it's nice
weathers then comes into play. Then all of a sudden
out of nowhere. Now, I just want you all to
know that our house and we've been in for twenty
three years or whatever. This house was built on one
of those kind of lots that is on a ridge,

(01:01:02):
and then it steps down the backyard, you know, like
you have the house. Then you got a little bit
of grass that steps down. Then you got some rocks.
That is it terraces? Is that the word I'm using?

Speaker 10 (01:01:14):
Yah?

Speaker 3 (01:01:15):
And this was things I had to go and went
over years. Then in phases, then you step down to
another little terrace and then the part where the pergol
is what we call kind of a park natural area,
terrorist terrace. You got them so to just to give
you an idea, you don't just walk out the back door,

(01:01:38):
and there's the perfect effort to get there. You got
to walk out the back door, you got to go
down the steps, you got to navigate. You got to navigate,
and then you got to go down steps and work
your way down to the bottom of the yard. And
it is the furthest thing from the house there could
be if you if you go any further, you hit fence. Yeah, okay, And.

Speaker 6 (01:02:01):
So until wintertime in the leaves, you don't even see.

Speaker 8 (01:02:05):
It, do you.

Speaker 3 (01:02:05):
Then you go into of course, you know you cauld
we're we're no it's nothing. I can talk to my
neighbors across the street and never have to raise my voice.
We're that close to their house. Okay.

Speaker 6 (01:02:16):
And of course, way, actually that brings up a good
Do you have a south gate? I call it a
south gate because I would think your house is can
you access it from the from down.

Speaker 3 (01:02:25):
There that gets into this There's there's a chain link
fence and the and there is a gate down there.
But it's not I mean, it's it's start a side
business rick, but yeah, wedding venue. So so anyway, so
this gets into you know, doing the fridge. Dan, Look,
it's up. Sure to be beautiful, it'll be fine, but
we don't have to go this far. Sure, he says,

(01:02:48):
Oh no, I think I'm thinking about, like, you know,
this is a place. I'm gonna try to get a
table in here. Of course, I'm thinking, she chain again,
build a table here and we can come out here
and actually have meals. And I'm like, I'm sorry, she
goes like family meals. Like I'm thinking Thanksgiving, I said, Thanksgiving.
We're gonna do Thanksgiving under this from what that's where
it's all the foods way up there, long way, I said,

(01:03:08):
how are we going to get the turkey down here?
And sometimes it's really cold to Thanksgiving? Yeah, sometimes, and
then and then my mom's my mother. My mother is
over at the house, you know, constously asking me where
Greg is. And so it's a great coming. I said, Mom, no,
this is just us today, that it's whatever. And and

(01:03:28):
I said, you can it's okay for you not to
have Greg, okay, and and uh and so is it right?
And so and and Mama just looks cute and all
that she was over. It was great. But I had
to say, and I love Mom's doing great. She's eighty
three years old. And I said, Babe, talking to her,
I said, you think Nady can get down to that problem.
You know what you've got to do.

Speaker 6 (01:03:48):
Go around, You're back, you are, So we put all
the food in the back of your truck around, I told.

Speaker 3 (01:03:55):
I told Sherry, I said, I'm giving that a trial run.
So I said, I want down. I'll almost show you
what she's got to go through to get down there.
And so we go out and now it's going down
the steps and she's going down here and I'm hanging
on to her, and she's using the rail and she's
working her way there. This is the one I got
in trouble. And she goes, so, Nana, what do you

(01:04:15):
think about the program? I said, give a minute. She's
got to catch her breath. She's like, and I'm like,
I'm like, you did it, mom, you made it down here.
And she goes, have we got to go back? And
I'm like, I'm on my back. Did you ask her this?
Did you go? Do you think you could carry a
tub of dressing?

Speaker 9 (01:04:33):
Right?

Speaker 3 (01:04:34):
And so so anyway, you know, Greg would have carried pots. Yeah,
So I see mother's eyes actually go over to the
chain link fence and to the road that runs behind.
That means you can drive it. Now, it's a little
rough there too, but we're getting a vehicle through because
there's a there's a ditch, and you know, we got
a little place. But mainly that's only that's only used

(01:04:56):
if somebody's doing some work and needs to get some
sort of equipment. And I mean, it's not some like
nice gait or something.

Speaker 10 (01:05:04):
And uh.

Speaker 3 (01:05:04):
And I saw her look out there and I said,
I know, mamma, you will ride you down here like that?
And and I just looked at share MoMA. I said, Mom,
say that road. I'll just for some reason, it'll be
interesting that you're in my truck and have to ride
you down to the meal. We'll go out and we'll
come around through the neighborhood. I'll drop you off back
at that back gate. If if you won't follow the ditch,

(01:05:25):
I think we can get you in that one. That
one ditch to you as opposed, we're not going to
have Thanksgiving down there? What are we talking about? I
mean to me, that's a long way when you could
just sit it right there like you always did. No, no, no, no, yeah, no, no,
listen to this. Listen this, what's the what's the reasoning

(01:05:46):
on it? Well, it just bothers me that when we
have Thanksgiving everybody can't sit at one table. Hey, Bud,
it's gonna be a big table. I'm like, Babe, well
if you build one of that, Parker, you got plenty
of one. I said, maybe we could we come out
last supper we were having the Disciples over. I mean,
it hasn't been that hard to work through where everybody.

(01:06:08):
It bothers me when I'm sitting at one table. My
kids are a whole nother time, right, I like I'd
like to have everybody at one table. And I thought, yeah,
let's do that, so there's a bigger chance somebodys gonna
say something upsets everybody. Yeah, you know, that's a great point.
When you got everybody divided like that, the chance draws
let flid. It's supposed to spreading nobody throughout the house.

(01:06:31):
Those people that always say the wrong thing. Let's get
every Let's have an all star Yeah, set up for
people who always upset everybody. Let's get them all to
the same table so every every person can hear it.
Right now, I take those controversial people and I move
them out into different groups. And whoever sits down there
a little man. Now, let's get everybody that says something
to upsets you. Let's put them at the same table.

Speaker 5 (01:06:52):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (01:06:52):
You could set up one of those you know how
lake A lot of times at lake houses, people have
those trams.

Speaker 3 (01:06:57):
You could set up a track that's good, Rick there
was there will be like a nineteen sixties horror movie. Uh,
it starts up beautiful, but that it takes over everything
and you can't kill it right.

Speaker 6 (01:07:10):
Oh yeah, And then all of a sudden, you're gonna
have this big, long table and the snake's gonna fall right.

Speaker 10 (01:07:15):
On the table.

Speaker 3 (01:07:16):
Snakes fall, Yeah, I think I think that's a little lofty.
I think if you want to say, it'll be a
nice beautiful place that at times we go down and
sit down there and relax, probably you know, fire pit
right over here. But but but things like big family
functions underneath it, big family functions under it seem a

(01:07:39):
little lofty. Yeah, you're gonna come out of the gate
right there, but you won't be able to maintain it,
right right right, Yeah, that's and that's all right, that's fine.
Looking back, maybe I should have left the playground on
there and waiting. No grand kids, of course, you know,
at the rate my kids are going not giving me
any grand kids, I'll you know, be in assisted living.

(01:08:00):
Maybe maybe I could watch and play on it on zoom. Rick,
you should have gotten me. I could have helped you out.
I know, Greg, I didn't think about that. But anyway,
your kids will be helping you down there. Rick's down
to the right. People saying here a while, people are saying,
why you ever consider thanksgiving anywhere but the farm. That's true,
But the farm again, it's difficult. You gotta give everything there. Yeah,

(01:08:23):
you got little you know, you got you got a
little tiny kitchen. That's a tough one. But you do
throw that bar open and get after it. Yes, yeah,
that's yeah. Now you don't have to go anywhere. Of course,
now you're moving everything over again, that's true. I know
it's a lot, but but you.

Speaker 6 (01:08:39):
Know what, happy birthday share, I'm bribe embracing it. It's
not beare and vacant and just a night sore. Now
now you got a part. Does that spot even right
now look better than it did?

Speaker 3 (01:08:51):
Absolutely? Yeah, it feels in that voice. But because you
have lived without it, well apparently I did, because I
lived many years with you and never once thought, you
know what, there's just a huddle in my soul.

Speaker 4 (01:09:04):
But only I did a Thanksgiving outside. Actually once during
COVID I was still still.

Speaker 14 (01:09:12):
Thought that was a thing.

Speaker 4 (01:09:14):
And it was horrible, bad byes in the potato salad. Terrible, horrible.

Speaker 1 (01:09:20):
This is the Rick Burchers Show. Go ahead, admit it.

(01:09:41):
This show was starting to grow on you, isn't it.
The Rick Burchis Show.

Speaker 3 (01:09:49):
Let's go America. Thanks for being with us today. So
you know what the good news is when you do
a show like we do and you got five hours
intent to fill every day. I looked at old Perg
glass and I was trying to help mom and carry
it back to the house. I thought, you know what,
old Perk, I bet you'll be giving us a lot

(01:10:10):
of content over the years. So oh, I'm sure the
Perg updates are gonna be fanns. So many events, so
many events well and plus just me dealing with the
vines and all this stuff. And you know how the
audience is, it'd be okay, it really would hay audience.
We love y'all. If anytime we're talking about an ailment
or we're talking about something new were trying or we're trying,

(01:10:31):
it'd be it would be great if y'all would encourage
us not send us hard stories you know about vine styves,
snake skins falling out of them. I mean, you don't
have to do all that. But anyway, Hey, does anybody
speaking of updates on on things? Any updates on Trump
and Putin meeting?

Speaker 4 (01:10:51):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, that come in your way if
you want it, or you would have wait.

Speaker 3 (01:10:54):
Let's wait on that. I love the power move of
the beef of the B fifty two flying over. Yeah, yeah,
I was just wondering, do we know anything? Did we
turn out? Well, we'll just we'll say that now now there.

Speaker 6 (01:11:06):
I think he's got Zelensky coming to the White House.

Speaker 4 (01:11:09):
Yes, Lensky, Macrone, what's his name?

Speaker 3 (01:11:12):
The UK leader? Yeah, now tell me because I know
I know that Hillary, I know that that Dennis Rodman.
I know that Hillary Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Hillary Rodham Clinton. Yeah,
it's going is in a lot of trouble because it's
obvious that she's she's dirty on this dossier and all

(01:11:34):
this kind of stuff. So she seems to be panicking
a little bit. Did I hear her say that she
would nominate Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize if
he pulls this off, she would nominate him herself. Is
this her trying to suck up so he won't put
her in jail? She must have been.

Speaker 6 (01:11:50):
He passed on putting her in jail one time, right, So.

Speaker 3 (01:11:53):
Uh so anyway, yeah, but yeah, it was it was
we can discuss, well, we'll do that coming up. I
just didn't you know, I know he said that, you know,
they met. He didn't walk out. Trump didn't So that
was in two minutes, right, because that's what he does
in two minutes, and I think he laid out what
would but what we would accept. And I guess now's

(01:12:14):
because I know Zelensky cried a little bit. He wasn't there,
and he's like, well, let me meet with him first,
so I even know if there's any need and then
I'll tell you what we talked about. I mean, easy
drama queens. He's still wearing that same shirt everywhere he
goes show with it. Today. Zelensky said he's just trying
to find a way for us to continue to send
him money. Yeah, so that I'm sure he's taking build

(01:12:37):
on that.

Speaker 4 (01:12:37):
But they spoke for several hours and then had a
press conference afterwards, and I'll have some clips ready to
go here shortly.

Speaker 3 (01:12:42):
Okay, all right, said they talked about the pargula. They did, Well,
they met under one. They did. That's what it was, presidential,
all right. So let's go to something more important. Football.
Oh yeah, uh so it's coming. So s m U
claiming that ESPN's ranking system is rigged. Yeah, after the

(01:13:05):
latest Football Power Index update, Well you look, y'all made
it to the playoffs. Be happy. I didn't realize that
ratt Lashley was there. But anyway, Rick Burgess. Well, I
didn't remember who the coach was there. But anyway, so
I don't follow Sumu a whole lot. No, but they
were in the they were in the heat last year. Yeah,
I saw them get wax. Yeah. Uh I remember that.

(01:13:27):
That that was that day. Yeah, that was that. That
was excited about the playoff until that game. Yeah. But anyway,
so he says that certain conferences are becoming ESPN's favorites. Duh, duh, No,
how about the fans want to see the best teams play,
and they want a system that will put the best
teams there, not reward a team that won a week conference.

(01:13:50):
I mean, just just get in the real world here.
And so he's saying it's rigged the measure of a
team strength that is meant to be the best predictor
of a team's performance going forward for the rest of
the season. And he doesn't like it because he claims
that this is ESPN trying to find a way to
get the teams to know they really want Maybe as

(01:14:13):
long as you last year, right, well he said they
can well won't make it again because they changed it. Okay,
So the Mustangs came out as number twenty among college
football teams entering the twenty twenty five season, though ACC
teams like Miami number nine Clemson number eleven were higher
on the list. Well, maybe that supposed to be shocking

(01:14:36):
that they are higher on the list than SMU. He
has put out on X the reason why these teams
are ahead of us is because the system is rigged.
And he's sounding he's just trying to motivate his team, right,
and said that. Donald Trump says, I understand how it
feels for things to be rigged.

Speaker 6 (01:14:56):
I know you can't help what conference you play in,
but the conference does matter.

Speaker 3 (01:15:00):
It does it does? It does?

Speaker 6 (01:15:02):
Yeah, come the end of the year, when you look
at the body of work.

Speaker 3 (01:15:06):
It does. It just does.

Speaker 6 (01:15:08):
And you can only play who's on your schedule and
beat and then I get all, I get all that,
But the schedules do matter.

Speaker 3 (01:15:14):
Well, yeah, and the strength of your conference, as you said, matters,
I mean the team now.

Speaker 6 (01:15:20):
And that's why they changed the playoff deal where if
you win a conference, you don't get.

Speaker 3 (01:15:23):
That automatic bye. It's the highest seating.

Speaker 6 (01:15:26):
Yeah, it's it's the whole because I mean that was
a big complaint last year. Remember that you had teams
that were obviously higher ranked and better that they had
to play in the first round and others were getting buys,
and we're like, hey, this has got to change. Yeah, yeah,
I mean and they did make that adjustment, right, so
uh so we will we will, you.

Speaker 3 (01:15:45):
Know, hopefully this year have a stronger playoff with with
better teams because of that was a flaw in the system.
It was, and we knew that, and I understand, I do.
I know there's a lot of purists out there. I
got you, And you don't want the winning of the
conference to be downgraded to being not that big of

(01:16:05):
an accomplishment anymore. I got that. But I'm afraid that
ship has selled. Do they have still had the automatic
spot for was the group of five or whatever? Remember?

Speaker 11 (01:16:16):
Do they?

Speaker 3 (01:16:17):
Yeah? I guess because now current if I'm wrong, last
year Boise was that team, but they were ranked higher
than Clemson, who was the ACC champion. So that's why
Boise got to buy. Normally they wouldn't have. If you're
that coming in from the right. Yeah, that was another
playoff game that really was fun to watch. Yeah, so
you know you're you aren't you remember what the playoff

(01:16:40):
is doing is it is giving us reality of the
wood could have, should have. Now these teams that always
say they get overlooked, they're now getting to play the
teams they said they could beat, and every now and
then they do in a one off, But they didn't
beat them last year. Yeah when when when you gave
them a chance last year they did not produce. And

(01:17:03):
with the portal, who knows what they got this year?
They may be better than they were last year if
it ain't got a bunch of players.

Speaker 6 (01:17:08):
Well, and two, you know you're at a conference schedule.
I mean it's a it's a big deal because like
instead of just having a fluff weekend, I mean, look
who Texas is opening up with with the Ohio State,
you know, I mean who's Florida State? Alabama's got them?
Is it LSU and Clemson that's playing? Yes, I mean
that those are big games early in the season. And
I know we always have on Week one we have

(01:17:29):
some big, bigger matchups and stuff neutral But the fact
that you're willing to do something like that, you kind
of put yourself out there.

Speaker 3 (01:17:36):
You do you do so, but but that's you're going
to hear this. See remember us talking about this and
back on the last years of Ricking Bubba and we
talked about this. If you think the playoff system is
going to stop all the whining and complaining, it's not.
You just have to you just have to turn a
deaf ear to it, and you just have to go

(01:17:56):
out and just continue on. But I mean, I don't
think it's fair that we've got teams having to play
conference championship times. I think I'll do away with it,
and then some teams don't. I mean that's not fair. Yeah,
I think that since you have the playoffs now, I
don't think that they're necessary. No, I don't know, nobody
wants to hear that, but I don't think they are.

Speaker 6 (01:18:15):
And you know, sitting here looking at s m U,
I mean, you'll have a chance being in the ACC.
You will play Clemson, you will play Miami. Yeah, I'm
sure you're you're gonna you will play Louisville.

Speaker 10 (01:18:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:18:26):
If you can get in there and win the conference
against those teams that are ranked higher than you, that
assault them, yeah, or just beat them. Top of the hour.

Speaker 1 (01:18:34):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 3 (01:18:50):
Listen up. You gotta find.

Speaker 1 (01:19:04):
The voice of reason in an unreasonable world. The Rick
Burchard Show America.

Speaker 3 (01:19:11):
Thank you for being with us a brand new hours
starting now, Speedy, Greg Adler all here. If you missed
first couple of first couple of hours, don't worry. We
got a daily archive coming for you later today on
the YouTube channel. In the podcast channel. If you haven't
subscribed to those, you need to so you get those

(01:19:32):
notifications when the archive is ready. And of course the
YouTube channel, you need that because you can also be
notified when a new live feature is happening too on
the YouTube channel. All right, so we as we start
the hour, I'm afraid I'm gonna have to take the

(01:19:53):
audience to task a little bit here. Oh and some
of y'all, I hope you are happy, you know. I
will say that that one of the most talked about
things that we've been doing on the new show. And
I hear this. I heard it again over the weekend. Okay,
is the making unscreened phone calls the standard for calls. Now,

(01:20:16):
this has this has spawned an unpredictability and some of
you have have taken on the desire and you constantly
attempt to do something in the unscreen phone calls. You know,
we get a lot of feedback on where we are

(01:20:37):
now with the Rick Burgess Show. And I want all
of you to know that you've cost us a listener. Thanks,
y'all have cost us a listener. And I want everybody
in this room to listen because we need to be
willing to hear even negative critiques, even though this person
won't know it because they're according to them not that's

(01:21:00):
a good point, Greg, but we all can learn from
you know what I'm saying that probably this one is
this one hurts. I blame speedy Hey birds, Hey bird.
The new format for callers has developed into an excuse

(01:21:20):
for adolescence posing as adults to call in and say
something inane like doo doo that was in the email?

Speaker 9 (01:21:30):
Right?

Speaker 3 (01:21:31):
Was it in quotes or it is quotes? Even better,
the worst part is you guys yucking it up and
encouraging this poor behavior on thing. We encouraging it, right?
We actually don't we laugh at I think I reaction
laughing at it. I'm giving them you like to make
people laugh. Here comes the biggie. This is where I

(01:21:53):
depart and drop out of your audience. Drop you get it?
Do doo? That's funny, that's hilarious. That's funny. Let me
ask you this, So couldn't you just not listen to
the phone segments at will? Like one two max a
day out of what so if you like when you
say up it, I get it. I mean we'll do
one next segment. But I know what you mean. Rick,
of course, I'm in the cross theres listen. It's all

(01:22:15):
about you. It's head coach. I'm not sure. I'm not
sure how one minute you're a hooting and hollering about
the latest doodoo caller, and in the next minute you're
telling me about your latest man church venture. Very poor
witness exclamation point. Now here's where this is where right now?

(01:22:36):
I'm like, all right, well, you know, but then this,
this is an interesting comment. After twenty years of listening,
your show has deteriorated into a cheap, slapstick, moronic shadow
of its former glory. I guess Baba helped keep you

(01:22:57):
in check for the better. Now, when I when I
look at yes, when I when I look at this,
when I look at this, let's let's break it down.
First of all, you've made one point greg unscreen phone
calls one a day, maybe two out of twenty seconds.
If I'm a twenty year listener. I'm just saying, can

(01:23:19):
you know what, y'all run the phone for me. I'm
not listening, but I'll be back when y'all hang the
phone up. The other one is, let's start with this one,
the notion that the former show was a bastion of maturity.
With with with with our tagline, the two Sexiest, a

(01:23:45):
contest called Lucky but yeah, yeah, HeLa monster mating calls.
There's that the Personal Ads show, which featured some very
not so mature commentary to the discussion of how you
can have the say the gender of baby you want
and how to go about that. Yeah, the Fatchelor, the Fachelor.

(01:24:11):
I mean, it's okay to finally remember the show, but
to say that show was ambastion of maturity, it didn't
feel like it. As a matter of fact, the current
state of this show feels a lot more like the
early days of the energy and the fun of the

(01:24:31):
former show. Well maybe a surprise she only goes twenty
years back. Of course, we all know the seriousness of
We know the seriousness is true. We know the seriousness
of of of a character is like Dicky Nadmire and
Deeping Dan or Ricky really want one, or naked Calvin
Wilburn running across the green Yeah, streaking god, a reoccurring

(01:24:54):
a reoccurring character called naked Cowboy. Oh yeah, I don't know. Friday.
We had a wedding on the bluff. We had, We
had a wedding on.

Speaker 6 (01:25:04):
The bluff, Yes, we did. And you Greg, you came
and got in a bucket truck just so we could
see you. Yes, and nearly got fired.

Speaker 4 (01:25:09):
Yeah, Speedy had a witchcraft phase during Thirteen Days of Horror.

Speaker 3 (01:25:14):
Was a pagan uh fan, fast fat fast, Yeah, all that.
It just didn't feel and then large Justice and then
the thing and then I'm going to bring up something
that this even urge justice. I'm going to bring up
very uncomfortable uh fact that this person has overlooked the

(01:25:38):
first do dos came from the old show. That's a
good point. Remember people would call in and hang from him.
That's all. We had it in the We had it
in the the it was it was from it was
from Hank from Hendersonville. People started doing it on phone.
That's what started. Why Yeah, and that current lineup that

(01:26:02):
was doing it then was laughing this everybody. Yes, I
saw bubbing tears many times over things it didn't seem
overly mature. Yeah, and then now let's go to Rick.
I'm not sure how one minute. Look, certainly none of
us are above being held accountable, but I think you
may be confusing. I'm a foller of Jesus. I'm not
a prude, you know? Is it a little do I

(01:26:27):
like hearing people say that. I really don't do. I
believe that less there's moral those kinds of things like tattoos.

Speaker 2 (01:26:33):
I do.

Speaker 3 (01:26:35):
It's not my favorite part. But I will say to this,
I think it's it's funny, and it's certainly not profane,
and it's certainly not sinful. No, i't mean this like
you did. I think it's getting it's more. I'm not
so offended by it. But it's happens so much, it's
not that funny anymore. How many times you think, don't
do a day? I don't know, at least once. But

(01:26:58):
now when you it like Mama when she that's funny
and creative people creative. But I'll even give you this.
I'm giving this back. I think we've done enough of
uranus jokes for a little while, just to let it
die down. She didn't include that in here, but I
bet that, yeah, probably, But again the uranus, I don't
think we did anything wrong. We ain't that funny. We

(01:27:20):
did uranus on the old show. Yeah, but what I'm
saying is I just don't think it's that funny anymore.
We need to let it rest a minute. Yeah, yeah,
And of course don't forget the song speaking of Bubba
Bubba's but we actually but yeah, yeah, so you don't
you don't. You don't have to, you don't have to

(01:27:40):
went in there. Yeah, yeah, locker rooms, locker room humor.
I'm sorry it was on both shows. I'm you can't
h but but anyway, and we try to keep we
try to do again less there's more. Now you can't
control the audience, and that to me adds to the
fun of unscreen phone bolls because you don't know what's
going to happen, and screening wouldn't happen, but they're not

(01:28:01):
going to tell you when you're screening them. I want
to get on here and say do that, but you're
not going to do that. But it's not for everybody,
and if you have to depart ways that we we
twenty years. But but I did want to point out
a few inconsistencies in the assessment. Well, and you can
even express that. Hey, you know, I kind of I'm
not into that, sure, but I'm done with the show
right after twenty years. And by the way, after reading

(01:28:23):
this email, how many thinks we're coming in the first
sunstringed phone call? I reckon, it's going to be so
out of control?

Speaker 14 (01:28:28):
Well, let's not.

Speaker 3 (01:28:29):
I wish that, right, let's not. What does she want
us to do? Dude? I'm so sorry? Yeah, so and again,
I mean, you know, we're trying so hard. I know
it's not for everybody.

Speaker 1 (01:28:46):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 3 (01:29:08):
Warding.

Speaker 1 (01:29:09):
In order to truly benefit from this show, you must
have a sense of humor. So like enough Francis and
enjoy the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 3 (01:29:19):
Here we go, America. I'm running through another one today.
Thank you for being with us today and much more
to do. So if you're doing to point you to
he look Sleep dot com slash Big Vox. I know
Labor Day is so out there, it's not here yet.

(01:29:39):

sale already started helic sleep dot com slash Big Vox
with the early Labor Day sale, so you can go ahead, uh,
and you can take advantage of some savings that are
going on right now. Top quality luxury that's also very affordable.
Unlike a lot of math companies out there, Helix owns

(01:30:02):
their own manufacturing facility, and each mattress is made right
here in the United States of America by a team
of skilled manufacturers, and they ship that baby directly from
their facility to your door.

Speaker 4 (01:30:14):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:30:15):
And that's how they keep the prices down. Plus plus,
they're they're customizing this mattress just for you. They're taking
a sleep quiz and they're they're there. It doesn't take
very long, okay. And and so they are, you know,
looking for like the firmness of the mattress. They want
to know that. They want to know what how you sleep,

(01:30:36):
what's your position on your stomach, on your back, on
your side. Do you do accommodation of the too? Your stomach?
Me too, I'm saying same. So, so it takes about
two minutes to do that, and then they ship it
to you. You get it for free one hundred nights
to sleep on it.

Speaker 8 (01:30:52):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:30:52):
And then of course if you don't like it, they

and take advantage of that. Helicksleep dot com slash big

(01:31:12):
Vox are used thelink at Rick burgesshow dot com under
the sponsors. But all right, so we mentioned last hour,
we mentioned that that Putin and Trump got together over
the weekend. One of the things on video one you
mentioned it speedy. A lot of people have been talking
about this, the fact that when Trump was walking with Putin,

(01:31:36):
we had b two stealth bombers fly right over his head.

Speaker 6 (01:31:40):
Oh yeah, all right, So I mean they're on the
red carpet.

Speaker 3 (01:31:44):
Look at that.

Speaker 6 (01:31:46):
That's pretty good right there, and not just to flyover,
but I mean flew over right where Putin was standing.

Speaker 3 (01:31:55):
Yep, yep wow. So even his face was like, oh wow.
So that plan. So we know that that Putin is
really really upsetting the Democrats. So so this is the
audacity to say something. Yeah, the one bee here here
is the the what what is upsetting the Democrats about

(01:32:17):
what he said about Trump?

Speaker 4 (01:32:20):
I still got my jets rolling here.

Speaker 3 (01:32:23):
Yeah, we love that. Over, we love it.

Speaker 4 (01:32:26):
It was good, but it wasn't that good.

Speaker 3 (01:32:27):
Okay, here, here you go.

Speaker 17 (01:32:28):
I'd like to remind you that in twenty twenty two,
during the last contact with the previous administration, I tried
to convince my previous American colleague we should not the
situation should not be brought to the point of no
return when it would come to hostilities. And I said

(01:32:50):
it quite directly back then. That's a big mistake Trump today.
When President Trump saying that if he was the president
back then, there will be no more I'm quite sure
that it would indeed be. So I can confirm that.

Speaker 3 (01:33:06):
Nobody say I can't everybody check on the view? Everybody
check on the view?

Speaker 2 (01:33:12):
Is it just me?

Speaker 3 (01:33:13):
But if you're translating for a male I need a
male voice. I couldn't listen good because of it. Really, Yeah,
I missed bout half of and you you you said,
I thought there's some woman off the camera talking about
something else. Oh that's what he said. Some ratchet y'all

(01:33:33):
left the stage about somebody snuck in. You don't know.
He's on my on. So he is now confirming what
what Trump has always said if I were president, this
this thing would never happen. And now here's Boot and saying,
yes that I can confirm that would.

Speaker 6 (01:33:50):
Be So I tried to talk away to the sort
of he's saying if if Trump was in office when
all this happened, it wouldn't have been a war.

Speaker 3 (01:33:58):
I wouldn't have been better in a male voice though
he was greg I'm saying you at the point, I
got you, I got you?

Speaker 5 (01:34:04):
Is it?

Speaker 3 (01:34:05):
What is it that hard? You know what everybody knows.
Putin's a man. You know he's coming. We got a
translator guy, well right, I mean, and he likes to
knuck up on. Where's Gary? And they said, where's the translator?
When we got this chick over here, she can do it.
And it wasn't nothing like that. I'll go as far
as I thought to myself, I thought Trump was talking
to a guy. You know what, I think, who's the
Russian chick? Yeah, but she's that she's translating for.

Speaker 4 (01:34:27):
Putin also laid flowers at the heroes of the It
was basically a place where they honored a US Soviet
alliance from World War two UH in which it commemorates
a brutal Arctic Route where eight one thousand US aircraft
aircraft were brought to the US s r UH. So

(01:34:48):
that was kind of a he did that to honor
this that that US Russia partnership that occurred during World
War Two before he met with Trump, which a lot
of people viewed as a a good sign and an
olive branch being reached out by Putin.

Speaker 3 (01:35:04):
Okay, I haven't really been following the news over the weekend.
I just know that this happened. Do we have any
indication about whether it was productive? I think I think,
I think, right, Yeah, you're right. But I guess the
fact he's going now to meet with Zelenski uh is
a sign that he thinks that he heard enough that

(01:35:26):
they can now sit down and continue on. Yeah, talking right.

Speaker 6 (01:35:30):
Yeah, pretty much a great to an Article five type
alliance with you know, with Ukraine and the European countries,
which is a big I mean, we would cover all
the security guarantee that for Ukraine, you know that if
you attack one, you attack all that kind of thing.
So that's big, and I think it's going to come down,
come down. At first they were like, you know, Trump

(01:35:52):
was like, hey, that we need to end in the war,
and coming out of that meeting, it's like, Hey, I
think we can come come up with a peace deal,
but I think it's some of it's going to be
a land grab where they both have to kind of
come into an agreement, and some of the stuff that
Russia's asking for, I think it's a little unacceptable, and
so I think there's going to have to be a
little give and take there. But that seems to be

(01:36:13):
the direction it's going. But today is a huge power
move as far as European countries and Ukraine being on
the same page and having an alliance.

Speaker 4 (01:36:22):
Here's the very absolutely speedy here's the very end of
their press conference that they did after their private behind
doors meeting, and Putin does say something in English, Greg,
So if that helps you, if his voice it is,
if you guys want to hear that, and they're talking
about the next time we meet, it needs to be
in Moscow.

Speaker 12 (01:36:43):
Thank you very much, lettermar next thing in Moscow. Oh
that's an interesting one. I'll get a little heat on
that one, but I could see it possibly happening. Thank
you very much, Letterman, and thank you all, thank you,
thank you, thank you so much.

Speaker 3 (01:37:00):
Next Timmy Miska. Vladimir had a share it on what
if we would have wrote up on the line. But
if he's on the bear, he rolls up.

Speaker 4 (01:37:09):
Let's talk.

Speaker 3 (01:37:11):
I dream next time. I will break you. That's not
he's not all string.

Speaker 4 (01:37:16):
He's not I will break you. That's no, that's the
Rocky break you.

Speaker 3 (01:37:21):
Well, I see what you're saying. You send you more
like Arnold. We'll be back.

Speaker 1 (01:37:24):
This is the Rick Burgess show Men Don't Run in

(01:37:51):
the Rain. The new book by Wick Burgess available now
wherever you get booked.

Speaker 3 (01:37:57):
Thank you so much for the feedback on the book.
We appreciate that you haven't got me grab it. Thank
You'll enjoy it. You'll laugh, you'll cry. Sure there's a
major motion picture coming soon, but anyway, no, enjoy that.
Thank you so much for the feedback. All right, so
as we come back to over the weekend, we've hit
some weekend stories. We're trying to give you some weekend news.

(01:38:20):
We've updated you on a number of things. If you
miss that, go back and catch the archive later today
either on our podcast channel or our YouTube channel. You
never have to miss a moment of the show, even
on your own time. If you miss anything on the
live option. So Adler, you were telling us, you know,
we have this wonderful world going on right now where

(01:38:41):
we've got Speedy and Greg as grandparents, but then we
have you, though, still parenting youngsters, and you're now experiencing
a lot of first you know, you and I had
kind of a emotional conversation about Ruby starting school and
you know, you're you watching her try to be a
big girl now and stuff like that, and I think

(01:39:02):
at one point, at one point, I really thought we
were close to an embrace of some kind. But but
so you're doing a lot of first now and and
you set over the weekend you experienced a parenting first.

Speaker 4 (01:39:14):
Yes, and you just forget about these things, these firsts
in your life until you kind of revisit them again,
and then you're transported back in time to your own
first and it's just wild. And this weekend I had
my very first roller roller roller skating.

Speaker 3 (01:39:33):
Party party at the skating rink. Party, many of those
many and I forgot the cake.

Speaker 4 (01:39:41):
They were huge when I was a kid, I mean,
and I know you guys grew up at the skate.

Speaker 3 (01:39:48):
Greg was the king, well yeah, he uh backwards and
then he kind of hit them where he became the
guy that walked around out of skate zone until to
get out of race a little. Yeah, I had red
devil wheels. Precision was not trying to brag, but precision
and kind of the John Travolt of the rink.

Speaker 7 (01:40:08):
Sure.

Speaker 4 (01:40:08):
And then there's the time Speedy tried to show off
and jump over a girl that he thought was kidd
tried to jump over her, landed on her, broke a wrist. Yeah, yeah,
broke broke broke trying to show it.

Speaker 3 (01:40:22):
That'll shut down, they'll stop the music. Did you think
you could clear the details?

Speaker 4 (01:40:26):
Stopped the music situation?

Speaker 3 (01:40:27):
Let me tell you what they called the paramedics. Yeah,
the music's all.

Speaker 6 (01:40:30):
I'm not going to say it's on her, but I
thought she moved her on a little right.

Speaker 3 (01:40:34):
But we were growing up, when we were going up
the skating rink on Friday and Saturday night, it was
a place of broken bones and broken hearts, oh oh yeah,
and good time and some good pizza.

Speaker 6 (01:40:44):
So back to the little kid parties that the adults
tried to get out of out in there, and you
hadn't done it in twenty five years.

Speaker 3 (01:40:51):
Oh yeah, you see some falls, some hard ones. All right,
you got yourself.

Speaker 4 (01:40:55):
Yeah, that's where I'm going. Oh, because okay, And first
of all, this is funny because this birthday party was
an afternoon birthday party, and he was gonna land right
in the middle of Ezra's nap. And Ruby's been never been,
she's never worn roller skates.

Speaker 3 (01:41:09):
We don't. We don't have them.

Speaker 4 (01:41:10):
We we got scooters, we got bikes, we got trikes,
we got all that. We just don't have roller skates.
It hasn't They're not as popular now. When I was
a kid, roller blades, let's go shred some blading.

Speaker 3 (01:41:22):
You know, it was a big thing. You don't see
it as much.

Speaker 4 (01:41:26):
See a lot more scooters. And I see a lot
of electric scooters where kids don't even have to push
or anything. And it's that is out.

Speaker 3 (01:41:32):
Man.

Speaker 4 (01:41:32):
If I had had that as a kid, it would
have been liked a jet pack. So Ezra can't go.
And now I'm in the spot where my two year
old son can't go to a thing and my five
year old daughter is getting to go. And we came
up with a thing where I need you all need
y'all need to tell me, is this is? This is
this unethical.

Speaker 8 (01:41:53):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (01:41:54):
I said to Ruby, Hey, don't forget Ruby, we got
to go to the uh the because she was about
to blab about it. She's about to blab so much
about it, and I go the unsharpened pencil store. That's
what I was trying to think of, something really boring.
The doctor would have been great. He was like, eighth Sunday, daddy, doctor,

(01:42:17):
not open, it's Sunday.

Speaker 3 (01:42:18):
But why you lie?

Speaker 4 (01:42:20):
You dirty liar?

Speaker 3 (01:42:22):
Why did you dy? That's your fun? Daddy?

Speaker 4 (01:42:27):
You're an example. You're in an example for what I
do and how I live my life.

Speaker 3 (01:42:32):
I didn't know your kid was Mike Tyson.

Speaker 4 (01:42:35):
They both have heavy lists and it's hilarious. It's so cute.

Speaker 11 (01:42:39):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (01:42:39):
But yes, So I was like, Ruby, we're going to
the un sharpened pencil store.

Speaker 3 (01:42:42):
I don't know why, what that about? You haven't even
entered your mind. I was just trying to think of
the most well.

Speaker 4 (01:42:49):
Ruby was like, we're going to the mud store. E
Israel likes playing in the moment. We can't go to
the mud store. That's too fun. I was like, what
about the toilet store? They thought that was funny.

Speaker 3 (01:42:59):
I had to change.

Speaker 4 (01:42:59):
It was like sarp pencil store, so Ruby zealed it.
So now Ruby's loving saying that, and we're talking about
going to the unsharpened pencil store.

Speaker 10 (01:43:08):
We leave.

Speaker 4 (01:43:09):
It's is bad, bad, goodbye. Sorry buddy. He's so aware
now he just wants to be a part of everything.
I feel so bad for him.

Speaker 3 (01:43:16):
He's so small, he's he's so small for his age.

Speaker 10 (01:43:19):
And so I.

Speaker 4 (01:43:22):
Forget to wear thick socks. That was a mistake because
I wanted to get it out there too, double socks.
We get out to the roller skating rink and we
are getting our skates and I tell them Ruby size.
I tell them my size. You know, child's ten, child size. Actually,
just give us the same size, and they hand us.

(01:43:44):
Did you guys know that roller skates were invented in
eighteen sixty three, that's from That's when these roller skates
were from.

Speaker 3 (01:43:51):
That's where they got the oils.

Speaker 4 (01:43:53):
Yeah, leather to the leather boot, old school tan tan leather.

Speaker 10 (01:43:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:44:00):
So we put these on and Ruby's freaking out. She's
like they're so heavy. I will say. The old guy
behind the counter was so nice. He was like, is
this her first time? I was like, yes, it is.
He's like, well, let me do something for you, and
he tightened up one of the wheels on the skate.
I'm really nice to that guy, very kind. And so
now we've got the carpet walk to the ring and

(01:44:21):
I'm like, I have not worn roller skates in thirty years.
I was probably nine, really yes, because roller blading took
over when you're nine, and roller blades feel different by
the way roller skates and roller blades. You're on a
because the blade is longer, the skate is shorter. It's
almost harder. I wouldn't prepare for that. So we're doing

(01:44:44):
the thing and there are just adults falling all around us,
kids falling all around us. Ruby's freaking out. We get
and I'm like, I'm just on the carpet. I'm not
even on the rink yet.

Speaker 3 (01:44:55):
This is gonna be hard.

Speaker 4 (01:44:57):
So the moment comes and you got to walk down
the little, tiny, little ramp to get on the rink.
And now we're in. When we don't fall, and now
Ruby is holding onto the wall like she's on the
edge of the Titanic or something like joyful, terrified, terrified,
and she is holding onto it both hands. I'm my baby,
you gotta hold my hand and then we'll go. I'll

(01:45:17):
go with you, we'll go together. And she's like, you're
going too fast, going too slow, daddy, right. I'm like,
you just said two different things. You said two different things.
And she's like, she's like, it's like she's on banana
peels or something. She's leaning back. I'm like, you got

(01:45:39):
to get your weight on your feet, baby, you can't
have your weight in your arms.

Speaker 10 (01:45:43):
You can't.

Speaker 4 (01:45:43):
And she's going down and she's going so slow, and
I'm like, baby, it's okay, you got The music is
just so loud. They did play some of our hits,
Speedy Return, Return of the Mac. Yeah, really good skates
up by the way, really large man out on the
skate skating floor owning it the whole time. I'm like,

(01:46:06):
big big man can is just owning it.

Speaker 3 (01:46:08):
He's got moves.

Speaker 4 (01:46:09):
We get to the section where it is like if
we go past this little entrance, we gotta go all
the way around. I'm like, okay, here we go, and
we y'all. It took us probably fifteen minutes to get
around one time.

Speaker 3 (01:46:23):
First time. The first time.

Speaker 4 (01:46:26):
I at many points I am blamed because Daddy don't
look at me. You're making me fall by looking at
looking at.

Speaker 3 (01:46:34):
Look, don't look at me? How dare you look at?

Speaker 9 (01:46:38):
How do you?

Speaker 16 (01:46:39):
What do you do?

Speaker 3 (01:46:40):
Are you making nervous? You're you're looking at don't look
at me. I don't want to forget this moment.

Speaker 4 (01:46:45):
The amount? Okay, So my foot is because these don't
fit me. They're not gonna feel right. Yeah, they're not
gonna feel right. I don't know. No, I think they've
been run over by a shock. I think they've been
been run over by the shorts.

Speaker 3 (01:46:58):
The shorts that time. No, you didn't want the girl
to think you were shorts that small, so you ordered
too big.

Speaker 4 (01:47:03):
I went the appropriate size. I went to the appropriate size.
And look, you got the number blaaring on the back.
I'm fine with that. I'm comfortable with who I am.

Speaker 3 (01:47:09):
That's right, all right, Hey, guys riding in a six
it's a nine point five.

Speaker 4 (01:47:16):
It's a nine point five, nine point You got the
nine point five blairing on the back, And I'm fine
with that. I'm I'm okay with who I am. Absolutely
there is and yeah, and I was trying of showing
off every once in a while. Ruby get real mad
at me. So I wouldn't would let go over her hand,
and I just skate backwards in front of you, like
I'm not a regular dad, I'm a cool dad.

Speaker 3 (01:47:37):
You guys, you look.

Speaker 4 (01:47:38):
Around on the rink, do you know do you know
how long you have to wait before somebody falls? When
you're just looking out at the whole rink? One second
bam fall boomfall again. Oh an adult that time. And
I kept pointing that out to Ruby because I knew
she was going to go down hard at some point.
First another kid falls, everybody falls.

Speaker 3 (01:47:57):
Baby around it, everybody.

Speaker 4 (01:48:01):
So we got around. We did a total of one
point five laps, okay, and turned the skates in. And
I want to thank ski Ball for getting us through
the rest of the birthday party. I thank you ski Ball.

Speaker 3 (01:48:13):
I got them tickets when you cash.

Speaker 4 (01:48:16):
Yes, she got a bouncy ball and fake money. Fake
money was a hit, but it was It was great, man.
I was just transported back to being a kid hanging
on the wall yelling at my dad. Honestly, I remember
yelling at irustrated with my dad, even though he's loving
me and helping me throw it. You know you're gonna

(01:48:38):
miss of course, we get home and Ruby's like, Mommy,
I did so good. I didn't even follow it with
my very first time. And then she goes up to
She's like, I went to a roller skating ring and
skating around. We played arcade games.

Speaker 1 (01:48:47):
I was like, but just show only in America. Could
these four men do this for a living God, bless America.

(01:49:08):
This is the Rick Burgers.

Speaker 3 (01:49:12):
America. Thanks for being with us today. We are having
a blast, as is the norm. Okay, So, against my
better judgment, there's people talking about it on text Nation.
I will say, we want to report this as accurate

(01:49:32):
as we can. We look probably there's there's topics that
anytime it comes up, I'm just kind of like, oh,
I don't know. I mean, it's almost like you turn
on a bad street, you get confused and you make it,
you make the wrong turn. Oh, I don't know about
this part of the neighborhood. And I would include any

(01:49:55):
story about these two conjoined twins and the fact that
one of them is married but they're can conjoined. I
try to stay away from any updates there because it's
such a troubling there's so many questions, so many extremely
uncomfortable questions. Now, what has brought them back in the

(01:50:18):
news today if if you remember one of them. Of course,
when you say one of them, they're conjoined, Okay, that
the conjoined twins Abby and Brittany Hensel have been seen
out with a newborn baby right over a year after

(01:50:38):
news of the of the the marriage became public. So
he's married to one of them, but he's really married
to both of them. And there's where there's where it
starts coming apart. You know what I'm saying?

Speaker 6 (01:50:49):
Which one got married the one in the middle of
the other one, because if not, you're just in the middle.

Speaker 3 (01:50:54):
Okay, Well, I don't know if he's right hen or so.

Speaker 6 (01:50:58):
You think maybe the one the this got the middle
the middle head is yeah, because.

Speaker 3 (01:51:06):
I wish I wasn't looking at her, looking at them?

Speaker 6 (01:51:10):
The one on the ride, is that the one that
got married?

Speaker 3 (01:51:11):
He married Abby? He married Abby? Which ones? I don't think?
On the left, I don't know which ones.

Speaker 4 (01:51:17):
I gotta say something. I used to watch this show
decades ago, Abby and Brittany. They had a show. My
wife and I got into it. Enjoyed seeing how these
women navigated the world. They were teachers. They're teachers, are they?
And they are y'all. They're they're they're a V person.
They're a V person. Their spine comes together and their

(01:51:37):
hips it's the same.

Speaker 3 (01:51:39):
It's it is.

Speaker 4 (01:51:41):
They finished each other's sentences, they start each other's sentences,
and Aaron and I could not stop watching it.

Speaker 3 (01:51:46):
All right, So when it comes to babies and it
comes to marriage, because because getting around that can so
can they accomplish carrying a child, conceiving and carrying a child.
I thought that came out pretty good. I was when
I was worrying how that was going to come out.

(01:52:07):
That came out, Okay, didn't it.

Speaker 6 (01:52:09):
You're saying below the shoulders, everything is is one body.

Speaker 3 (01:52:12):
We're only two heads, but we're on one body.

Speaker 16 (01:52:15):
Is that?

Speaker 9 (01:52:15):
What is that?

Speaker 3 (01:52:17):
You're the experts? Here were the ones?

Speaker 4 (01:52:19):
They each control one leg.

Speaker 3 (01:52:23):
I don't say that, and arm each control that one leg.

Speaker 4 (01:52:26):
I'm serious, one arm to one arm, each one control
terrible control.

Speaker 3 (01:52:33):
Because look, whoa, whoa, whoa. So because some people are saying,
as I'm going to try the way, let's just know,
I'm just not what about this? What about? What about
when you have to say how about a little help?

Speaker 7 (01:52:53):
What?

Speaker 3 (01:52:53):
Well? I mean, you gotta get these other arm and legs.
There's so many complicated.

Speaker 6 (01:53:01):
I mean, I mean, for that, you've heard fighting yourself.

Speaker 3 (01:53:06):
I know, if one wants to go for a walk
on the other one day. What about if one says no,
thank you, I have a I have a headache. I mean,
oh yeah, I don't know, and the other one says,
I'm it's on. I mean, I don't know what to do.
I wish I wasn't talking about this right now so much.
All right, So yeah, now these stories are being reported.
They've been seen with a baby, car seat, all that.

(01:53:29):
But now I'm looking at some updates. Others are reporting,
yes they've been seen with a baby, but they have
not produced a baby themselves.

Speaker 4 (01:53:37):
They married, may married into it, right.

Speaker 3 (01:53:41):
No, no, no, you're talking about he already had a baby.

Speaker 4 (01:53:44):
He okay, he had a daughter.

Speaker 3 (01:53:46):
Yeah, but this is a this is since the scene,
since they've been married. It's a new born and they've
been seen with a new baby, but that doesn't mean
it's there. It doesn't mean that it's theirs. How do
you strolling with newborn baby? There's multiple stories from two
days ago. I want to know about about the new baby.

(01:54:07):
But then when I go to the AI Overview. When
the question is asked to AI have Abby and Brittany
had a baby, AI says no, even though they were
rumors speculating they they do not.

Speaker 4 (01:54:23):
Yeah, okay, you're right. The the new husband has an
eight year old daughter, but this.

Speaker 3 (01:54:29):
Is a baby, so they said, there's no confirmation. I
don't this baby has been produced by the husband and Abby.

Speaker 4 (01:54:39):
I am seeing that.

Speaker 3 (01:54:42):
And if they have just one, how far down they
share you? I mean, everybody got to be involved in
the birth, you know, because they're only sharing one. And
is that part of the female body able to conceive
and carry a baby? And then surely they went cesarean

(01:55:05):
think on this, but we don't even know that. We
don't push it, says. It says in the past, Yeah,
we need your leg working harder. We listen. We but
in the past they said they had a desire to
be moms, but they're not sure how that would work,
so they have it. That's the quote, it says from

(01:55:27):
them in the past. So maybe they're just looking after
somebody's baby. I mean, that's possible, not theirs. Yeah, of course,
maybe they're going to adopt. I don't know. When you
go to the list of babysitters. I don't know. Well, no,
I guess teachers stuff like this. So you got to
watching though, Well that's true. Oh god, somebody's brought up

(01:55:49):
back to your story speedy earlier. Now you've got to
realize what two heads are thinking.

Speaker 6 (01:55:54):
Oh wow, questions good. When one gets sleepy, does the
other like, yes, turn the light off? You know, No,
I don't I want to read questions that. Yeah, evidently,
but I'm just I'm trying to say, just keep it there.

Speaker 4 (01:56:12):
Some of the like below the way, some of the
feeling is mutual, but some feeling is not mutual, Like
one of them only feels stomach aches, Like if they
have a stomach ache, only one of them will feel it.
So some things are sure.

Speaker 3 (01:56:26):
Stomach it always is on one person.

Speaker 4 (01:56:28):
Yes, all that. Yeah, if you got the stomach ache,
my stomach killing me, I'm fine, let's eat some more.

Speaker 3 (01:56:34):
Yeah, I don't want to get up and missed the
part of the movie. Yeah, there's so much. There's more
questions that would none of us want talking about. Very
very interesting.

Speaker 4 (01:56:46):
Somebody said that they both are romantically interested in the man,
but legally you can only be married to one person,
so that's why Abby is the one that's technically married
to him, but they that it's the one.

Speaker 6 (01:57:00):
In the middle now, so he always stands on there right.

Speaker 3 (01:57:04):
Or maybe listen, I don't know, but the baby thing
is just a rumor.

Speaker 1 (01:57:10):
Is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 4 (01:57:16):
Welcome to The Rick Burgess Show, the Voice of Reason
for another reasonabld lighten up for incis here we go,
Fello America.

Speaker 3 (01:57:37):
Welcome back for a brand new hour. Thank you for
being with us. The gang all here today for another
day on another show or another week. Speedy Gregg and
hand their readings. We thank you for being with us today.
We've been trying to update you on a little bit
of everything within the show and of course around the world.

(01:57:59):
So we go back to around the world that now
are in our country, Joy Reid, you know some of
these people we continue to hear from how do these
how did they end up? Again? And remember, they can't
be elected unless our fellow Americans elect them. So our
biggest concern is about the people that we interact with.

(01:58:21):
They're really not the problem. They can't have any power
without people willing to vote for them. So Joy Reid,
she makes these bizarre statements all the time. This one, Yeah,
this one's a doozy uh. And this one is going
to be uh again because she just lives for race
and racial things. This one's going to start from white

(01:58:46):
people can't invent anything, and I want to can't invent
we can't, can't and I want to beg the different
you say you line Whitney, okay o, Greg of all
the choices.

Speaker 4 (01:59:00):
It was an important invention. Yeah, actually got helped get
rid of slavery.

Speaker 3 (01:59:03):
It was always one of the questions when you're a
kid on your tast I always remember it.

Speaker 4 (01:59:08):
And she's mad because supposedly Trump is auditing the Simithsonian
Museum and trying to get rid of some I don't
know if y'all have seen some of the examples, some
of the exhibits that they have. It's like the Statue
of Liberty with like blood coming down. It's just it's
not it's not an accurate portrayal of history at all.

(01:59:28):
And she's upset that they're getting rid of some of
that stuff where and she's claiming that we're trying to
quote whitewash history and that is not actually happening at all.
You're just trying not to make the entire Smithsonian dedicated
to vilifying America and American history.

Speaker 3 (01:59:45):
And also caution, she's gonna take a shot at Elvis. Caution, Yeah,
here's joy raate.

Speaker 9 (01:59:51):
They can't fix the history they did. Their ancestors made
this country into a slave a slave hell. But they
can clean it up now because they got the Smithsonian.
They can get rid of all the slavery stuff. They got,
prager you, they can lie about the history to the children.
They can't originally invent anything more than they ever were
able to invent good music. We black folk gave y'all

(02:00:14):
country music, hip hop, R and B, jazz, rock and roll.
They couldn't even invent that. But they have to call
a white man the king because they couldn't make rock
and roll. So they have to stamp the king on
a man whose main song was stolen from an overweight
black woman.

Speaker 4 (02:00:32):
Why do you have to say overweight.

Speaker 3 (02:00:36):
Weird women tend to write songs better than skinny Women's mom,
she was a little chunky. She wrote jail house rock,
wrote one jail house Rock. I've never seen so little
effort for the name jail I'm not sure she was

(02:01:00):
fat out and she just sounds like she was. So
you don't know, now, don't she might do she might
be as that sound. Yeah, well, I'm not sure we
can say white people can't invent anything. And I'm sorry,
I don't know who I'm kin to hundreds of years ago.
I don't know, but I'm sorry. If I mean, I
can't be held responsible for their actions, I can't apologize

(02:01:21):
for them either, Yeah, because I had nothing to.

Speaker 10 (02:01:23):
Do with it.

Speaker 6 (02:01:24):
The joy reads of the world. They make a living
off constantly pushing the race thing. Oh and so if
that's not if that's not at the forefront, then they
don't have anything. So obviously they're going to create issues.
They're gonna manufacture problems. They're gonna constantly keep that in
the forefront of everything they say, because that's all they got.

Speaker 3 (02:01:45):
By the way, according to what Adler just said, what
they're considering for the Smithsonian has nothing to do with
going in and taking out the history of the country
and removing removing the slavery era. I don't think anybody's
doing that, know so, But she can go on a
show with the uninformed people and say that, well, they're
going to try to change history from the party that

(02:02:06):
has tried to change history so many times. I mean, well,
what was the one and I forget who it was.
I don't know her name. But here's how little they
know about history. I heard and I don't know who
she represents or where she is. It was just a
clip where it was a black woman that said that
she can't she doesn't even want to talk to conservative

(02:02:28):
people because she's not going to talk to the Grand
Wizard of the klu Klux Klan. And I wish someone
would have given her the inconvenience truth. You know, the
Grand Wizard of the klu Klux Klan that those were Democrats,
right they were. They weren't conservatives, they weren't Republicans. But again,
but they but know because history has been changed, they
now have the klu Klux Klan being a bunch of Republicans.

(02:02:50):
When it was Democrats. They they're they're they're can they're
forgetting that in the South, those that wanted to keep segregation,
we're all Democrats. It was a bun Slavery was ending
to this country by a Republican. But again, and when
you when you press them on it, because they don't
like facts. Have you ever heard this move that they
claimed that the Republican of today was well, I mean

(02:03:13):
it was it was the Democrat of that day, and
now the current Democrat is the Republican. Have you heard
them try that? If you try history, they'll just move
it around. Right, So people, if anybody has tried to
whitewash history and and uh and to change history, that
that that's been the left.

Speaker 4 (02:03:31):
Abraham Lincoln was also a member of the Republican Party.

Speaker 3 (02:03:33):
Yeah, that's what aut I said. Hey, that's who ended
slavery and the whole Emancipation Proclamation all that right out
of the Republican Party.

Speaker 18 (02:03:41):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (02:03:42):
But but anyway, you can't do that.

Speaker 4 (02:03:45):
You have to say overweight by the way, I've seen that.

Speaker 3 (02:03:52):
I know she's talking about.

Speaker 4 (02:03:54):
Big Mama Thornton a version of hound Dog.

Speaker 3 (02:03:58):
People do cover songs all the time. Was we're not
allowed to a cover song?

Speaker 9 (02:04:01):
Right?

Speaker 3 (02:04:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:04:02):
Also, white people did invent the electric guitar. Now black
people took it and played a blue scale on it.
That sounded phenomenal.

Speaker 3 (02:04:09):
Yeah, let's all work together.

Speaker 4 (02:04:10):
That's called team work. That's called teamwork.

Speaker 3 (02:04:13):
By the way, you know the Robert Johnson and you
know they deal with the devil a new thing, you know,
with you know, taking history and completely changing it and
reconstructing it. You know, a new thing that has been discovered.
Now somebody on text Nation was throwing it out that
a whopping one point four percent of Americans wherever slave owners. Yeah, yes, one,
but but you presented like the whole wide world was

(02:04:36):
exactly and that's all white people, all white people. But
yeah that that, uh, that didn't didn't really happen. And
by the way, slavery has been around a really long
time and right now still is going on in parts
of Africa. But anyways, but.

Speaker 4 (02:04:49):
That's all I know, inconvenient but black people have owned
slaves than white people that I don't know. Therefore, speak
the truth globally, but probably globally, you're probably right.

Speaker 3 (02:04:59):
Uh, let's go to video number two. Another thing where
the Democrats are mad about something that they always did
but they won't let anybody else do it. And that's
the redistricting a redistrict. They will redistrict at the drop
of a hat, and they're mad coast now Conservatives are
doing it. So here's Kamala Harris. We think she may
be drunk trying to talk about it.

Speaker 4 (02:05:19):
Yeah, that's really just the whole point of this segment
is this little clip. I mean, is she is she drunk?

Speaker 10 (02:05:25):
Y'all?

Speaker 4 (02:05:25):
Y'all, let me know what you think.

Speaker 18 (02:05:26):
They're doing it cheating.

Speaker 4 (02:05:28):
They're cheating.

Speaker 11 (02:05:30):
They want to change the current system to make it
bend towards the outcome they want. And so you know,
if you believe the public reporting, they get a call
that says, hey, redo your lines, even though the fallout
is going to include exactly what you said, which is,

(02:05:50):
you know, taking the franchise the vote away from specific
communities and in the case of Texas, Latina on a
black bat, yeah, and diluting their votes. Okay, and this
is not a sentence here, but this is a year
with the beautiful bill and at the unpopularity of it,

(02:06:13):
and so they want to.

Speaker 4 (02:06:15):
Then the rules good night.

Speaker 6 (02:06:19):
Well, I wonder what it's like just to walk around
and just make up fairy tale stuff. And then they
might be like, okay, yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:06:24):
Well and then and again the top and then and
then the topic. We're going to cheat and try to
that and change districts for our benefit. And I mean
they're just they're just hoping, they're just hoping, you don't know,
that's a lot of all they're doing, and and I'm
with you. I noticed all I sees a bunch of
empty glasses like they've never had anything in them. I

(02:06:46):
don't something that's been on that table? Was it?

Speaker 6 (02:06:48):
Was it bottomless? Mimosa's morning or know that she needs
some sleep.

Speaker 4 (02:06:51):
But y'all ask Bernie Sanders if the Democrats cheat? Yeah,
ask ask Kamla Harris who got zero votes and just
got put in magically by magic.

Speaker 3 (02:07:01):
Yeah, yeah, it's fun.

Speaker 4 (02:07:04):
What if she went on to say, and they're trying
to let illegal illegals vote too? Oh wait, no, that's us.

Speaker 3 (02:07:09):
I think that was that open board. Yeah, Democratic, we'll
come back so much to do onscreen phone calls before
the hour's over. Oh watch, Oh yeah, non diversial on
screen phone calls behave. We'll hit that too before we're done.

Speaker 1 (02:07:26):
Today's takeooks, This is the Rick Burgess Show. This is
what Trump had in mind when he sought to make

(02:07:49):
America a great again. The Rick Burgers Show.

Speaker 3 (02:07:53):
Thank you America for being with us today. A couple
of things from the Text Nation. Yeah, text Nation, those
of you there texting that you're getting the same commercial
on repeat for two minutes or more, that's not happening
on the part that we control, So you have to

(02:08:15):
be more specific on what platform you're using. We don't
have any control the things we're hearing on the you know,
we just hear the national spots that run on the
radio network and on tune in h and those are
running fine. So it may be maybe you're using an
app of some kind, but we don't have any control

(02:08:37):
over that. So I apologize. And I really don't even
know who to tell you to contact about that. It's
cordon if we don't know, Yeah, according to what app
it is? What are you using? Is it one of
the affiliates apps? We don't know. You'd have to give
us more details, but we can try to get word
to to wherever if you'll give us some Okay, all right,
so we'll pass that along. Thanks for the help. Also

(02:08:59):
the other from from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Thank you very much.
What a context. The best way is to just email
me Rick at Burgessministries dot com. Rick at Burgessministries dot com,
and I can help you with what you're asking. So
there you go. Now, I know, out there in the
world when you start thinking about you know, and I

(02:09:23):
don't know what to believe or not to believe. But
let's be honest, all of us these days we're a
little bit leery when it comes to shots that they're
not necessary. And of course I'm talking in the world
of weight loss. You know, you see things sometimes, Hey,
you know, the bomb's going to drop to these some
of these things. But I don't know anything about that.

(02:09:43):
But what I'm saying is whether there's any real danger
or whatever. Some of us are apprehensive about that. And
when you're talking about trying to do better, and you
you would like to do this in a way that
maybe doesn't include pharmaceuticals, and that's where tate lean dot
Com comes in. You know, this is our friends at
Brickass Nutrition.

Speaker 9 (02:10:04):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (02:10:05):
This this is a natural way for you to have
you know, an appetite suppress it. Okay, so it's not
diet pills and it's not one of the shots.

Speaker 11 (02:10:13):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (02:10:13):
And car Luma is an all natural ingredient that comes
out of India. UH that does help the body naturally, uh,
suppress appetite and eat smaller portions UH healthy blood sugar
also take Lean accomplishes that naturally.

Speaker 14 (02:10:30):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (02:10:31):
And of course energy you know, some of these diets
starve you and you have no energy. With take Lean,
you're gonna get a good natural energy to be able
to to to you know, do what you need to
do every day. And a lot of you been letting
us know how much you love it. So if you
are looking for a natural way versus all the pharmaceuticals,
go to Takelean dot com. No needles here. Takeleen dot

(02:10:53):
com are also go to the link at Rick Burgess
Show dot com. Use our code big Vox and get
twenty percent off right now, okay, all right, So a
couple of updates here. It is the halland Oates controversy.
Halland I know some of you that are young you

(02:11:14):
may not remember the heyday of Hall of Oats. Wow,
they had their seventies run, which I prefer. I prefer
that eight run. I mean, they were huge. The eighties
music I really don't care for, No, not much of it.
The seventies I liked, Oh yeah, But you know when
you get into Sarah set this one out and she's gone,

(02:11:36):
not mister Lucky's version. There's rich Girl, Rich girl. All
that was the first time you heard that B word,
though you thought should that being a song and when
you heard on your parents' am radio. But anyway, then
the eighties though, they were monstrous. Yeah, Private Eyes, out
of you. I did not like it. Out of touch.

(02:11:56):
You know they're a family man, she said me alone.
Families your case, your kids. The worst one probably may
be the worst one. You like that word? Did you
hate kiss on my List more than Private Eyes?

Speaker 6 (02:12:15):
I got to go back to something real quick, because
y'all touched on that before. Do you not like something
because you if you think it's a bad song, or
because it's popular and you want to not like it?

Speaker 3 (02:12:23):
No, it wasn't so much. It's overplayed, and it was
a little bit of overplayed. Okay. If I would have
liked the song better, I could have put up with overplay.
But I didn't like it that much. But they played
it all the time, Okay.

Speaker 8 (02:12:34):
No.

Speaker 3 (02:12:35):
I found Private Eyes and Kiss on the List to
be a little campy. Okay, but it wasn't cool enough.
It wasn't edgy enough. It felt campy. It felt very sugary,
which is not my thing.

Speaker 4 (02:12:48):
You know, we didn't We were talking about mustache. Mustache
the other day.

Speaker 3 (02:12:51):
We didn't give a good mustache?

Speaker 4 (02:12:53):
Is it is? It holler Oats.

Speaker 3 (02:12:55):
John Oates, No, I mean Oats. Come on, John Oates
is mustache gap.

Speaker 4 (02:13:00):
We didn't give his flowers for that, you know.

Speaker 3 (02:13:02):
Yeah, but I'm not sure what he did in the band.
I think some of their old stuff. He sing lead,
but he didn't really sing it. He was like Brooks
and done guy.

Speaker 4 (02:13:10):
Yeah he got a mustache.

Speaker 3 (02:13:11):
By the way, tex Text Nation, I didn't say I
loved air Supply. I got in a fight with air Supply. Yeah,
it's not the same thing. That is different. Did I
like the song from air Supply as a kid? Yes,
I did a lot of love I did like I
was a kid. I wouldn't go for it now I'm
lying alone with my head on the phone. Here we go, okay.

(02:13:35):
But anyways, so you know what I throw in and
it's not them, But it's the same the way I
feel about the song African Dabor great Ken I hate it.
I put that right there with hate. I agree right
there beside it. Well, you know they Haul of Oats
had a falling out. Sugar Ray had a version a
bit of a legal battle.

Speaker 10 (02:13:52):
We do not have.

Speaker 3 (02:13:53):
By the way, before I move on, where where were
you on? Man Eater? I can live with it. Coue Baseline,
that's a good song. I bet I can't go for that.
I can't go for that little campy Yeah. But anyway,
so probably of all the eighties Man Eaters the closest

(02:14:13):
one that I can that I can like because of
the base run. Yeah. But but anyway, here's what I
don't like. All we've got in the story is an
arbitrator that they both agreed on has finished it. I
got no numbers. The Haul and Oats dispute is over. Uh,
their business partnership has been resolved.

Speaker 9 (02:14:35):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (02:14:36):
And and they had a private ending after the details
of their rift went public.

Speaker 13 (02:14:41):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (02:14:41):
The documents have been sealed. Everybody's happy, nobody knows what
the guy. Everybody's good. The details are not public, and
all we know is the final judgment and arbitration has
been accepted by both of them. So there we Basically,
if I'm can remember correctly, they were wanting to say

(02:15:02):
o their cadillo like one of them did, Hey, the
other one didn't. That's correct, And they think it was
John Oates that wont Yeah, So now they're working out
that Darryl Hall didn't. That's I remember correctly. Has been
very profitable.

Speaker 4 (02:15:13):
Who we forgot about you?

Speaker 3 (02:15:17):
That's right there with the Darryl Hall in twenty twenty
three said he'd lost trust in John Oates, and Oates
replied by saying, wow, that deeply hurt. I didn't realize
you would make inflammatory, outlandish, in inaccurate statements about me.
And then Hall's came back with huh uh hi, no
can do. I can't go for that. You know, it

(02:15:37):
looks like it's been resolved, but we don't know how much.
I won't know who got what. I was sitting here
trying to find somebody got big money?

Speaker 1 (02:15:45):
All right?

Speaker 3 (02:15:46):
Unscreen phone calls are next? Dare we It's It's one
of the most intriguing controversial new things, is these unscreened
phone calls. It's a lover hate relationship.

Speaker 4 (02:15:58):
We do it.

Speaker 3 (02:15:58):
Next, All lines are open.

Speaker 1 (02:16:00):
Is the Rick Burgess Show. It's time for unscreened phone calls.

(02:16:21):
Call no what eight eight, eight and six big box
and get on the show.

Speaker 3 (02:16:29):
Here we go, America. Here comes the phone calls. They
come in here unscreamed You guys, if if you hear
the phone ringing, that means you're inline ready to go.
We scream them on the flo. This has been has
brought a lot of different comments from the audience. Most

(02:16:49):
of the comments I hear very positive. Today we did
get a negative email that the unscreened phone calls and
the way some of you have acted, you have run
a listener off today. I hope you're happy. Yeah, I'm
twenty year listener. That's right. And they said they don't
know it right that we're talking about them because lest
any more not after they thought it was one too

(02:17:10):
many dodos. They're out, Yeah, there you get you can
there's t can't. But now people can't call themselves. They
know that. That's why we call for you, you know
the ones that just you. They say hello, and that's
just all they say. You better than that. We continued, Hello,
you're on the Rick Burgess Show. On the screen phone
calls and.

Speaker 10 (02:17:26):
Go hey, guys, y'all need to look at Ted Talk
big Foot to proof what they do. It's about six
minutes long. What they do. They compare the ratio the arm,
legs and torso for human to that of the Patterson fam.
I asked, pretty compeling that that's something different, that's not
somebody in a suit.

Speaker 3 (02:17:46):
Look, yeah, we got yeah, we've broke down. I don't
know what he said. I was just if you would
work at that end. And wait, we broke down that
video though so many times again. But here's a conclusion.
You either had maybe the best costume for the nineteen
sixties i've ever seen yep or as Bigfoot. We continue

(02:18:06):
unscreened phone calls. You're on the Rick Burgess Show. Go ahead.

Speaker 14 (02:18:10):
Yeah, I was listening to the greatest hits.

Speaker 10 (02:18:13):
Make sure I say that right.

Speaker 14 (02:18:17):
Uh this weekend and I heard the story about you
got to laying out in the driveway and you saw
UFO And make sure I got this this right.

Speaker 3 (02:18:30):
Rick.

Speaker 14 (02:18:30):
You've you think you could take a wolf and you
and you saved your your your family from an alien abduction.
All right, Rick, I think you're full of doodoo.

Speaker 3 (02:18:45):
Okay, your delivery is not great one. But again, now
i've seen these little eighties. It's not a win. I
won't mark that down as a wind. Yeah, I've seen
these little aliens. I don't think there's much to them.
A little gray no very, he's creepy. I said, if
anybody can't beat up e T, I mean, come on,
I know he couldn't even run. Good come on fingers

(02:19:07):
said something about dynamite and small a small package. Yeah
that all the time. Hey bo dynamite. Did you guys
know that?

Speaker 4 (02:19:16):
Speaking of E T, there was a tiny person inside
of ET that was about R two D two. No, no, no, no,
I'm telling you this is a legless man, Greg. That
was inside of ETA.

Speaker 3 (02:19:27):
Legless T was a puppet. Matthew, you're thinking about R
two D two. By the way, is a little man
in it?

Speaker 10 (02:19:35):
Greg?

Speaker 4 (02:19:35):
Well, then why it's a little boy. At the time,
he was a boy. Greg, I'm telling you this.

Speaker 3 (02:19:39):
Is the guy, Matthew. Get wow.

Speaker 6 (02:19:45):
So so that somebody was because they had no legs.

Speaker 3 (02:19:48):
Yes, there are you going to put in there?

Speaker 2 (02:19:52):
Greg?

Speaker 3 (02:19:52):
By the way, on that note, this is what I
was waiting to tell you. You said you beat up
a lottle kid. No I did not, No, not that one.
I'm gonna like from another planet. The just because they
can pull off the technology to fly don't mean they
ain't fight. But the but I was just noticing on
this note, on this puppet note, did you see it?

Speaker 14 (02:20:13):
Uhuh?

Speaker 3 (02:20:13):
Greg? I know you're excited. Guess what they were just
showing on one of the TV channels. Think it was ABC.
Guess who made Derek watch his face? Guess who made
their Grand O Opry debut. Oh boy, Elmo, shut up.
I saw it. He's out on the stage of The
Cowboy and he's at the Grand Opry. He's interacting with humans.

(02:20:36):
He's interacting with humans. I'm glad the little Jimmy Dickens
ain't a laft. He'd be so disappointed. You ain't disrespect
the opry like that. I know what are you talking
about to me? Making the opery has now been downgraded? Yeah, well,
Elmo made it, big whoop. He's out there singing along
with other country artists. I saw that show. They just

(02:21:00):
in that. There's nothing more irritating than that. I was
gonna ask you, is.

Speaker 4 (02:21:04):
That the world?

Speaker 3 (02:21:05):
It's horrible? Hilmo money, Well, I would rather hear him
than George Straight. That's a good point o good gracious.
Oh wow, it's like stir them up, Hi, Malmo, it's
not bad. If you were the opryl would you be
going great? So that I finally can go to the

(02:21:26):
opera fine footage. Greg has to look at it real
by morning, Mama trying? All right? We continue Rick Burker's
show on String phone calls, go ahead.

Speaker 10 (02:21:41):
Uh tell Adler to look up.

Speaker 3 (02:21:43):
I can't go for that.

Speaker 1 (02:21:45):
See Low Green.

Speaker 14 (02:21:46):
They're playing at Daryl Hall's home studio, and I'm I'm
telling you it might be better than their original.

Speaker 3 (02:21:52):
Okay, we go here, let me go here. That from
his home where he does it? That was cool that
that that makes those songs sound when he doesn't because
you're right, You're right, it does.

Speaker 4 (02:22:03):
It's fun live from Darryl's house.

Speaker 3 (02:22:06):
Yes, coax Almodo. Uh Rick Birder's show on screen.

Speaker 18 (02:22:10):
Phone calls, go ahead, Hey guys, I just had a quick,
funny story I wanted to share with you.

Speaker 4 (02:22:15):
Uh.

Speaker 18 (02:22:16):
Several years ago, I worked for a pest control company
and uh, I pulled up to the house and I
knock on the door and it's the old guy comes
out and I uh tell him I'm there to do
the service, and then he closed the door and I
go about doing the service with them. I have a
speedy attack. So I get done with the service and

(02:22:37):
I'm not gonna make it to the gas station. So
I go back to the door. Knock on the door,
doesn't come to the door. Knock on the door again,
still waiting. He finally comes to the door and a towel,
and then I asked, can I put your bathroom? So
I go inside and I use the bathroom, and uh,
it was pretty bad, and I have I left kid Mark.

(02:22:58):
I just walked to the door and I didn't even
see him anywhere any here. I just said thank you,
and I walked out and left. But I just thought
that was pretty fun. I want to know what speed
you would have done in that situation.

Speaker 6 (02:23:10):
You didn't try to clean up the ball man, if
you're leaving one solo, can I get it?

Speaker 10 (02:23:15):
They didn't.

Speaker 3 (02:23:15):
They didn't have like a toilet flood.

Speaker 6 (02:23:18):
I blacked out that entire call.

Speaker 3 (02:23:20):
That's off from a person who had to work in
those type of situations. Buddy of mine, he'd go knock
on the door in a minute. I no way.

Speaker 6 (02:23:29):
I've always wondered about that.

Speaker 3 (02:23:31):
Because you know, if you're house calls like that, something happened,
uh huh, And that's and that's such a I couldn't
do a personal thing. I come in and trash your bathroom. Please,
I know I'm a stranger. I'm sweating. I know, I
know I'm real dirty by the way in it, and
I've been sweating big time inside. Yeah, it's gonna be

(02:23:53):
a little damp when I leave.

Speaker 4 (02:23:57):
The whole room is going to be sweating Mars.

Speaker 2 (02:24:03):
There.

Speaker 3 (02:24:04):
Oh man, Rick Burgers show on stream phone.

Speaker 1 (02:24:07):
Calls go yeah, Rick, now that he's built a burglar,
he's gonna have to put in a pickleball court.

Speaker 4 (02:24:17):
In your face.

Speaker 3 (02:24:18):
Delivery. I love the delivery. Delivery.

Speaker 4 (02:24:21):
Fuck the ball cart.

Speaker 3 (02:24:22):
I can see you do right that would you should
have done? I didn't think about it. Yeah, markway and
do it almost had enough room?

Speaker 10 (02:24:33):
Do you you know?

Speaker 3 (02:24:34):
I've noticed you know what we talked about, like this
one that Rick goes to. This is crowded. People in
Lincoln must not be in the pickleball because they built
him a brand new court. Because I passed on my
way home over day, I never see anybody you come
in it. No, I'm talking about going on oh yeah,
now in the morning. I have seen him playing basketball
at two during the morning then, but not a lot
of pickleball.

Speaker 7 (02:24:53):
No.

Speaker 3 (02:24:53):
I mean they built these nice pickle I've never seen
a person on it. Can I just ask this stereotypical question,
do black folks play? I don't know, ye, white people.

Speaker 4 (02:25:02):
I have ever seen a black person playing pickleball.

Speaker 3 (02:25:04):
Right, I'm not talking about Ben Carson. I'm talking about
I mean, okay, no, I'm talking about like THEO you
know Tyrone did they play? I don't. I don't think so.

Speaker 9 (02:25:14):
Huh.

Speaker 3 (02:25:15):
I don't know. I never, I haven't seen it A
lot of it.

Speaker 4 (02:25:18):
Yes, black people do play pickleball, says Google, but the
sport is still predominantly played by white individuals.

Speaker 6 (02:25:26):
An athletic individual. You know what Joey Reach said.

Speaker 3 (02:25:28):
They want to say they even trying to take pickleball
from Joey Reach said, a black man invented pickleball, trying
to rob her, and a fat black woman saying, right,
it was a fat black woman, that's what she's saying.
I mean, you know we're live, right, Yeah, you know
I'm quoting. This's just stereotypes.

Speaker 6 (02:25:45):
Okay, you wanted to make sure you don't think we're
in the break.

Speaker 4 (02:25:48):
Yeah and smart, yes, fair and smart. This one looks
like around seven to eight percent and climbing of pickleball players. Okay,
brothers and sisters and good you know, good for that's good.

Speaker 10 (02:26:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:26:00):
Well then people start getting.

Speaker 4 (02:26:02):
Sound Okay, so I don't know why I felt say
that is it doesn't say anything bad.

Speaker 3 (02:26:06):
It's gonna be like everything else, everything else. There's gonna
come a point if I'm a coach of a picktball team,
I'm gonna want to win the championship and I'm gonna
teach some black people to love. We're gonna we're gonna
dominate fickleball like everything else too. That's right. Everybody's like, man,
you ain't play Burgess team mate, He's you don't want

(02:26:26):
any part of that. Did you got some some players?

Speaker 10 (02:26:34):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (02:26:35):
I saw Cam Newton and t Bow playing pickleball a
little bit. Did you see that? It's interesting?

Speaker 4 (02:26:42):
Oh you know, I did see that, and they get
into it too intense game of pickle ball.

Speaker 3 (02:26:47):
We'll be right back because.

Speaker 1 (02:26:51):
This is the Rick Burgess show coat coat goat the

(02:27:19):
voice of WISO in an Unreasonable World, the Rick purchase.

Speaker 3 (02:27:24):
Thank you for being with us America. How about don't
forget that. Over the weekend, a brand new edition, a
brand new episode of Strange Encounters came out. If you
haven't caught the latest one, this is our podcast on
spiritual warfare. We take actual letters from the audience and
kind of walk through what may or may not have

(02:27:46):
been going on in some of these stories. So check
that if you missed it over the weekend, it is
available wherever you get podcasts. A couple of things to
discuss today.

Speaker 1 (02:27:56):
And I saw.

Speaker 3 (02:27:59):
Not I see five A, so I want to see that.
But I did see the five B, which was wow troubling.
Let's go to five A. First, involving airplanes, we have
a we have an airplane that landed landed on a
golf course. Now picture that. The reaction though, get crashed
onto a golf course one time, I think a vintage plane.

Speaker 6 (02:28:19):
Now it came on down pretty good. But everybody runs
to the plane, which you can understand. Mean there's people
out playing. I mean there's like one guy runs over.
He's got his putter in his hand, and but one
guy tries to come down from the clubhouse area and buddy,
he busts it hard.

Speaker 4 (02:28:37):
Huh is audio okayre bad?

Speaker 6 (02:28:38):
I think what I saw was okay. Anyway, So here
it comes in. It's it's if it's.

Speaker 3 (02:28:48):
Just shive the green and comes wow, comes settled.

Speaker 6 (02:28:52):
Now people are running, Yes, so now everybody could Now
you'll start seeing people.

Speaker 3 (02:28:56):
Now watch this guy right here, he gets he gets watched.
This guy he gets watched your heart his head so
hard hard.

Speaker 6 (02:29:04):
So now there's people running all from all over the place.
As you can imagine that you're trying to be the
hero and you bust your butt, hit your hand. She
needs to be careful, Yeah, she needs to be careful.

Speaker 2 (02:29:13):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (02:29:13):
Now you'll find a guy coming over from the left. Here,
he's got a golf club in his hands. People are
out playing.

Speaker 3 (02:29:19):
Yeah, he's the plane crash during his back swing.

Speaker 6 (02:29:22):
Yeah, but it looks to me as though people come
out of the plane and they're okay, yeah, bust his rump.

Speaker 3 (02:29:29):
How does he do? Guys?

Speaker 6 (02:29:30):
The guy they're running down his hill, they're running downhill
from the clubhouse, and he got a little top heavy
and his less couldn't keep up with his body, buddy,
and he hit hard.

Speaker 3 (02:29:40):
If you're wondering, he's in concussion protocol. So look at
this thing comes down hard.

Speaker 2 (02:29:45):
Though he.

Speaker 3 (02:29:48):
Hit that tree. That was fortunate. Boy, Wow, no flames.

Speaker 6 (02:29:54):
Somebody who wanted to play three? I want to know
why I play play with social right? Oh my goodness, guys,
he got hit his head, Yeah I know. Then he
got up and was a little remember any of that.
I don't know but he got he ran over there.

Speaker 3 (02:30:07):
I wonder if he is now going standing on top
of the plane, he's.

Speaker 4 (02:30:13):
Trying to fly it like he didn't just butt Would
we would be would.

Speaker 3 (02:30:18):
We be a little concerned it may be about to
blow up?

Speaker 2 (02:30:20):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (02:30:20):
I don't know if wh I know you? Unless he
you would have to flee to help others. Well, my
first thought, bailt's that plenty of people heading that way.
I don't want to I'm just gonna be in away
to go fail.

Speaker 8 (02:30:33):
Me.

Speaker 3 (02:30:33):
The guy like what plane I just keep playing with?
He would have been first one there doing mathemaout all right,
been teeing off because I was okay, this would have
been me. I'm calling now one one.

Speaker 9 (02:30:45):
I got it.

Speaker 3 (02:30:47):
Right.

Speaker 4 (02:30:48):
Here'd be Greg at the cart the drink car. Wow,
look at that to please.

Speaker 3 (02:30:55):
Well, now that the line is shortened to what I'll
take good stressed little stress. Now this is the one
that I did see. Now I want you to imagine. Look,
airlines are having enough trouble right now. Okay, let's face it,
we're all just a little leery. There's a lot of
places dropping out of this guy, a lot of and
a lot of the taking off on a lot of problems, Greg,

(02:31:15):
You're gonna love this one. A Southwest pilot who tsa
called security reeked of booze being arrested for DUI escorted
off the flight moments before he took off. Wow, he's
fifty two, was arrested, has been fired from Southwest. Of course,

(02:31:36):
he did the typically fired. He does the typical when
he's interviewed that he's only had three beers and that
was last night about I mean like ten twelve hours ago,
which is impossible. Okay, here we go, long hawaika. What's
the last time I saw the drink home? Last night?

Speaker 10 (02:31:52):
Ago?

Speaker 3 (02:31:54):
Ten hours ago?

Speaker 4 (02:31:55):
At least.

Speaker 3 (02:31:59):
They're so uncomforted that.

Speaker 6 (02:32:02):
To find a few beers, A few beers, to find
a few beers three okay three drink beer?

Speaker 2 (02:32:12):
No like no like?

Speaker 3 (02:32:13):
Ye, lots of fine bills beer, Greg, who are you with.

Speaker 7 (02:32:19):
My?

Speaker 3 (02:32:21):
Would you be will enough? Profidally?

Speaker 10 (02:32:23):
Uh?

Speaker 14 (02:32:24):
Fill somebody with me right now?

Speaker 3 (02:32:25):
No, there's no need. Well, I can smell an older
consistent with an alcoholic bevers. Sorry, okay, dropped it ros
Oh why does that haven't been in your mouth?

Speaker 14 (02:32:41):
Yea?

Speaker 3 (02:32:44):
So now now we're going through the test, and I
guess they yeah, I guess they can.

Speaker 4 (02:32:50):
Now this happened back in January, but now it's been
released and.

Speaker 3 (02:32:53):
Okay, so it's uh wow, boy, he had that look
on his face and he was busted. Told him on him.
They said they smelled him when he came through. But
let me around and the line and the jet way.
What if you're sitting in there, see my mid look.
I'm no medical expert, but you you can't have three

(02:33:16):
beers and eleven hours later them smell it on you
standing in front of no way picture of that gut
coming over. Ladies and gentlemen.

Speaker 6 (02:33:23):
We're sorry for the difficulty, but your pilot has just
getting pulled off the plane.

Speaker 1 (02:33:28):
He's drunk.

Speaker 3 (02:33:29):
He's in the middle of his sobriety test. We'll let
you know how he goes.

Speaker 4 (02:33:32):
He's walking the line. If he passes the line, we'll
get him back.

Speaker 9 (02:33:34):
On the.

Speaker 3 (02:33:37):
Guys here from the right here, those of you that
are already on board. Uh, your pilot is doing a
sobriety test. He passes that, baby, we'll be right underway.
I mean, I mean, but it's not looking good. Yeah,
he failed, So we're looking for another pilot right now.
We appreciate if you know, moving around, Stay you stay,
you will your seatbelts on.

Speaker 9 (02:33:57):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (02:33:58):
If he fails this, baby, we'll get you, you thought
as soon as we can. Wow, but you've got so
much alcohol coming off of you. You know what they
go through tsa their own way. I get it. They
smelled it on him. Wow, and they called security. Now
I'm with you, Greg, I'm not an expert. Well I

(02:34:18):
have you know, I have played the game, and so
I'm even though I'm not, you know, an expert in
the game, but I'm aware of a pretty long career. Yes,
I'm aware of how the game works. And three beers
ten twelve hours ago, nobody smells that on you walking
through brick. It wasn't three. It might have been four.
I know there's always that three. I don't know why
three three?

Speaker 6 (02:34:39):
Well, your question because of those twelve answers the long
running show Cops or any cop show. Why does it
always how about you you got a drink, a few,
or a couple, It's always that. Yeah, it's always when
you love from lukinggo, I had a half case.

Speaker 3 (02:34:53):
I'm hammered. I'm driving pretty good. But if you consider that, Yeah,
what if he said the fact if you want to
be factual, factual. Yes, I've had a tremendous amount of drink,
but I do think I can get the plain words.
I'm cool this all the time. Y'all want to know this.
Y'all don't know how many flights I've already done.

Speaker 4 (02:35:15):
Find first, my co pilot is just exceptional.

Speaker 3 (02:35:21):
We're good. Yeah, we can't pick my slack. Don't worry
about it. I'll be obverious sleep. Did I drink too much? Yes?
Did the co pilot? Not that I could tell. I
think he's good. He was, he went and he went
on to bed. So does that is that an f U?

Speaker 4 (02:35:34):
I flying under the influence instead of the d U
y I.

Speaker 19 (02:35:39):
Should have said, And you just want top of the
This is the Rick Burgess Show, you know, like we say,

(02:36:06):
we got a fine.

Speaker 1 (02:36:12):
Broadcasting from the world The Rich Burgess Show.

Speaker 3 (02:36:17):
Well America, welcome to a brand new hour. Sweedy, Gregg
and Adler all here as we get you started on

covered a lot. If you missed it, go back and
grab it on the Daily archive. You can grab that
archive on our YouTube channel, or you can also get
on our podcast archive. If you aren't following those You

(02:36:39):
need to subscribe, get the notifications all that. I'm brown,
all right, So a couple of things. We've all been
here dads. Everybody in here our dads, and two of
us are granddads.

Speaker 12 (02:36:56):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (02:36:56):
And so this is the kind of stuff when I
watch Greg and Speedy and I see them now as granddads,
and I think to myself, Okay, so all those things
I went through with little kids as a dad, there's
a chance I'll be asked to repeat some of them
only being older, which makes all these things harder. Video
six or photo six. So we have a forty year

(02:37:19):
old man rescued after getting stuck in a slide at
a school playground and Vernon photo when he realizes he stuck. Look,
I remember I got stuck in the thing at Chuck
E Cheese one time. Yeah. I couldn't get out. I
had to go up in one of them, yes whatever,

(02:37:39):
the different brand climby things. And when they showed me
how to, you remember, and they showed me how to.
All right, I'm gonna handle this with it's late enough.

Speaker 10 (02:37:47):
Now.

Speaker 3 (02:37:48):
When do you remember this? Because it was a long
time ago. On the Rick and Bubby Show, I actually
told the story. But I mean, it was a long
time ago before you even on the show because the
kids were still really little. The older kids were still
really little. Yeah, so the Big four. Yeah, and and
so I was when they finally said you're gonna have
to come down this way. It was one of those
roller things. Yeah, you got to watch the it'll paint

(02:38:11):
you got to watch they it rolled, it rolled me,
It rolled me bad.

Speaker 4 (02:38:15):
Are you wearing gym shorts?

Speaker 3 (02:38:17):
It was in the fatal position at the bottom of
the slide. It was he it was a real bad.

Speaker 2 (02:38:23):
Off.

Speaker 3 (02:38:25):
It's like a roller of like I was being wrung out.
It was wow. I'm like, well, I call back out.
I mean it was like and I was like right away,
I gotta go. But no, but what happens. You know
sometimes you have little kids a little oh wow, they'll

(02:38:45):
get up there and well it's just like he tried
to go up in the This is one of those slides.
You know, that's a that's a tube.

Speaker 10 (02:38:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (02:38:52):
So the story we have on it, he you said, Vernon,
Connecticut is right, and w F s B is reporting
that he got stuck in in the where it where
I guess where it turns where they taking it off.
Here where the tube turns. Yeah, yeah, so at the
top where it turns, that's where that's where the So

(02:39:14):
the fire department actually responded to Northeast Elementary School where
he was trapped. So think about it got so bad
they had to call the fire department. Yeah, and his
kid and they said wait, yeah, in that tube he was.

Speaker 3 (02:39:28):
Wedged in the middle portion of the tube slide.

Speaker 2 (02:39:32):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (02:39:32):
They gave the man oxygen.

Speaker 6 (02:39:35):
He was extremely uncomfortable, especially in the hot temperatures because
it was a hot day. Ventilation was not greble uh,
and so he was he was pandicking.

Speaker 3 (02:39:44):
Yeah, I would have if a kid would try to
slide down and then you're stacking people in there. Yeah,
it doesn't really tell in this. He was in that
turn right there and he was barely fitting. Yeah, thirty
minutes is about how long you stayed. Why did he
try when it was his kid in there? He thought
he was I didn't realize he was too fat, oh man?

Speaker 4 (02:40:03):
And did it look like he tried to turn did
from being either head first to going feet first or
feet first to going head first, and he got stuck
almost sideways.

Speaker 3 (02:40:13):
Unless they've turned him that way to get him out.

Speaker 4 (02:40:16):
He had his shoes off.

Speaker 3 (02:40:17):
Oh yeah, trying everything. Yeah, the way he's sitting there
at like you said, you tried to turn around, nless,
that was them getting him out. So Greg, you remember
that when you got inside that maze. Oh yeah, so
picture he's if you're clost folk, because you're not claustrophobic, boy,
and have some weird reason to hit me that day.
We've all done that. But but if you if you're
what if you're claustrophobic, because you wouldn't go down the

(02:40:38):
slide if you're a claustrophobic, would you? Probably not? You
might not know you.

Speaker 6 (02:40:43):
I think there's claustrophobic. And then there's I'm in a
tight spot and I'm stuck. It's not just that I'm
in there. I'm yeah, I'm stuck changes I can't move,
kind of like when you I hope everybody can hear me.
We're riding the NASCAR, you know, for out, you know,
and al a sudden they sent you and you're like, okay,
I am paying down.

Speaker 3 (02:41:04):
That would be the worst, yeah, because you can't stand
up or stretch or nothing. You're just pinned in.

Speaker 6 (02:41:09):
It looked like yeah, he got all bent up in there.

Speaker 3 (02:41:13):
Great. I had a lot of hair. Then, Greg, does
this make you feel bad?

Speaker 10 (02:41:17):
Greg?

Speaker 3 (02:41:18):
You are struggling. No, No, we shouldn't be anything that tight.
That's a tight space. And the bad part is they
said they gave me advice you to get your head first.
Well say that that was the tough part because the
one that got me I went head first and then
had to turn up under it, down and under it.

Speaker 6 (02:41:35):
Did you have to talk about Adler?

Speaker 3 (02:41:36):
Be honest? Yeah, yes, yes, she finally calmed down.

Speaker 4 (02:41:39):
We were trapped between layers and layers of plywood and
two by fours?

Speaker 6 (02:41:44):
Greg, Was there ever a point you almost Greg? Man,
that's a panic face. I'm sorry, buddy.

Speaker 3 (02:41:52):
He finally.

Speaker 10 (02:41:54):
Great.

Speaker 3 (02:41:54):
Did you ever get to the point where you was
gonna go raging?

Speaker 10 (02:41:58):
Bull?

Speaker 3 (02:41:58):
I almost kicked it up? This destroyed it, but it
was too stout for me raging. But then it kind
of got you know, it was that head first and
then back under the goat me.

Speaker 4 (02:42:09):
You were struggling.

Speaker 3 (02:42:12):
Because then I get out of it and read the
limitations and I was right at all of them. Wait
all that really shouldn't have been a yeah, man, anything
for a talent. Gee, sure, I get it. Sure, I
guess I get it. Let's face it, that ended up
spending night in the caverns later that night.

Speaker 4 (02:42:29):
By the way, we're supposed to do that. We as
a team are supposed to sleep at majestic caverns.

Speaker 3 (02:42:34):
Again, I thought that was a joke.

Speaker 6 (02:42:37):
He's looking at us over here. Okay, not you, Rick,
We know that you need to go to He's looking
at the good Time game.

Speaker 3 (02:42:42):
Rick.

Speaker 4 (02:42:42):
You won't even stop and see Larry. We know you're
not coming to Majestic Caverns since before, he's commenting on YouTube.
He's offended, personally offended by that. You're not stopping. How
can I He keeps dropping, you know when your Grandma's like,
oh yeah, that's so thank thanks for calling me. Haven't
talked to you in forever because you never called me.

Speaker 3 (02:42:58):
That was yesterday for me.

Speaker 6 (02:43:00):
Actually the perfect stop for you to see Larry, because
there's a I've said it, I'm gonna say it again,
there's a Loves gas station there. Just hush, We'll be
doing a drug that you can what it is. You
can pull over, say hey to the man, how you doing?
Put it on your Instagram story. You think and then
keep on going. And you think it would be this move.

Speaker 3 (02:43:20):
Yep, that's the point. I've only got five minutes.

Speaker 8 (02:43:26):
Let you do.

Speaker 6 (02:43:26):
And I'm a top off.

Speaker 13 (02:43:28):
Oh really, if you if you look though at the schedule,
because you realize I've got to got to stop.

Speaker 3 (02:43:40):
Look, I've got to leave pretty early to even make
the time five minutes. And then the next day I've
got probably be talking about the next day. So I'm
going to speak at Rinking Church of God. What day
is that's on Saturday, on Saturday, and so I'm there
for their evening service. I'm I'm you know, I'm losing
an eye going yeah, because it's Eastern time. And then

(02:44:03):
the next day I've got to come all the way
from that part of Georgia all the way to West Alabama.
My goodness, right, and and and and speak at first
Baptist Tuscal who come up with this book. And so
I'm thinking it's only the way. Wow, Winging Wingo called,
didn't one. Oh yes, I was just going to Rinking
and coming back.

Speaker 10 (02:44:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:44:24):
And Wingo was like, man, I need you to come
do that.

Speaker 6 (02:44:26):
And I was like, and I like going there and
you can cover some ground. I will that's why it's
on the front end. I was texting with him that
you'll you'll probably stop on the front end, not the
back end. The back end, man, you know you're toasting.
You got to get to Tuscaloosa from there. But on
the front end, that'll be a good I mean, look,
it's such a long drive, you're gonna have to stop
and fill up and everything. And that's just knocked that out.

(02:44:47):
Say to him, get the problem.

Speaker 3 (02:44:48):
The problem. I have just been completely transparently and that's perfect.
I got I just said, let's just let's just say
I'll text h when you're closed. Let's let's just say,
let's just call it. Larry has not shown an ability
to handle having someone so phon. Yeah he hadn't. No,
I'll text it. But I wonder how I'm going to communicate. Well,

(02:45:09):
you just let me know.

Speaker 6 (02:45:10):
Take till Larry I'm five away, because it's about eight
minutes from his house that that gas station. So you
can just tell him, hey, I'm thirty out, I'm you know,
fifteen out, and then I'll let him know and then
you just.

Speaker 3 (02:45:22):
Pull in get gas.

Speaker 6 (02:45:23):
Hey to him, Okay, man, I gotta go take a picture,
all right, I'm out see you, hey, look for to
see September fourth?

Speaker 3 (02:45:30):
Yeah, bring you? Is this how Gary feels about you
right now? What you're talking out? I just think it'd
be great, So I'm out. I'll tell area. That's what
I am. I really that close? Yeah, you going right
through it? You can get where you're going from. Am
I going through it? Spread up? Just straight up? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (02:45:46):
And that's right on the interstate is stump Buyer's house
for thirty forty five minutes.

Speaker 3 (02:45:49):
That's what I'm gonna tell you. Eat a meal.

Speaker 1 (02:45:51):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Go ahead, admit it.
This show has started to grow on you. Is a
dit the Rick bish Show?

Speaker 3 (02:46:13):

Speaker 6 (02:46:49):
You're gonna leave Saturday morning from home and you're headed

take about four and a half hours start till I mean.

Speaker 3 (02:46:57):

Speaker 3 (02:48:12):
Yeah, they're pretty good. All right, here's the deal. I'll
try to meet them, but I want them. I want
them to call you as many times as they can
to be sure they've got the details. Well, that's not
a problem. I can go through how many times he's

you could have isolated over. I wouldn't bother nobody, and
you poked me. So it's on now. Well, I just

(02:49:23):
want you to share join forces with Gary. No, look,
Gary love it. He's he's part of the friendship. One
it comes to twin towers. Did y'all see Gary's uh
video of him and the donkeys?

Speaker 6 (02:49:35):
No?

Speaker 16 (02:49:36):
What?

Speaker 8 (02:49:36):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (02:49:36):
The miniature donkeys? What is when one of them gets
to cutting up? Are they his? He was in a
pen with them, yeah, he said, he said, more than
another miniature donkey or something. Listen, you remember what happened
at the time he had to get rid of that
when kicking his goats. Yeah, this was three of them.
They were a small one and two almost sides. And
one of them walks up to the gate and gets cranked.

(02:49:58):
I love to hear when they get cranked up. Get
that big bread here it is it's a little one. Yeah, oh,
look at that little laddler. Wait wait, this other one
cranks up, adler, stand beside rig that's ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (02:50:12):
Say that.

Speaker 9 (02:50:14):
Here?

Speaker 3 (02:50:14):
It comes here.

Speaker 12 (02:50:26):
Better than that.

Speaker 3 (02:50:26):
That's Greg. When we run out of fritters. Look, that's
a little fella, I mean Garrit. I'd like to see
you why I think these are Greg, But I'm not
gonna say replace me. You know when the little one,
when tiny donkies. Should we baby or is it always tiny?

Speaker 10 (02:50:51):
Well?

Speaker 4 (02:50:51):
I think I don't know.

Speaker 3 (02:50:52):
I think the other one started cutting out when he
when he went in after that tea. Yeah, and I
think I've seen he did like all that's fine. I've
seen miniature horses running around. They're pretty funny.

Speaker 4 (02:51:05):
Look, Yeah, miniature donkeys are a thing they get, they.

Speaker 3 (02:51:09):
Get Why do we gotta miniature everything?

Speaker 4 (02:51:12):
They get thirty thirty something inches tall and they weigh
between two hundred and four hundred pounds.

Speaker 3 (02:51:18):
Right, I meane to get me one of them? Yeah, Greg,
I just said a few out of the house. But yeah, yeah,
you know, if you if you have you know, like chickens,
or you have you know, wildlife whatever. They protect them
from the cowdies and stuff. Right, they're good.

Speaker 4 (02:51:39):
Yeah, they'll kill a dog. They'll kick a dog, right'll.

Speaker 3 (02:51:44):
Break a dog. The problem is they don't know the
difference between cody and dogs. Just like nine, that's all
they care about. Here we go here, somebody said. The
little donkey sounded like Larry finding out. I'm coming by.

(02:52:08):
I'm going by. I'm gonna get a picture with me.
So uh here he is, hey bird j Birge. Yes,
Uh the man of a thousand voices. Oh you just
did one? Had me in stitches all week and over
the weekend. I listen to what I can during the
week that I catch up on the weekend. Seems like
our old friend Speedy was stuck in a Forrest Gump

(02:52:29):
hole couldn't get out with his impressions this past week.
I thought it was Frank Callender. Every impression he tried
to do, it was Forrest Gump. Yeah, everyone Trump, so
many others. Hopefully this week and that's today, he can
claw his way out of this gump rut. Or if not,
who cares these impression attempts on me? Work your way

(02:52:50):
towards Charles Best Emily. You know he's going to go
that route. Okay, uh, to work on it, hey bird,
Chay birge Uh. I have a ricking up a playlist
of all the best of albums on Apple Music. But
I went further. I have put aside a playlist that
I've created of Greg's greatest hits All Greg. While listening

(02:53:14):
to Greg's playlist, I noticed something that I didn't notice
before until now. I've noticed that sometimes you and the
guys seem to be fishing for the cracking, but sometimes
the cracking is awakened and released on his own. Every
time it happens, though it's radio go oh well. The
suggestion that we fished to try to get the crack

(02:53:37):
to each other, No, that that's common practice. No one
wants to see the release of the cracking. Greg another one,
Hey Bird, Hey Burge, I don't remember this. Every time
you guys talk about Elton John, Greg always brings up
the Mad Hatters song. I think I did one time.
I like that song. Okay, okay, Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters. Yeah,

(02:54:00):
is not everything I thought i'd heard it. Yeah, he said,
I thought I'd heard every song, but because Greg kept
talking about it. Because I want stated a girl that
loved Elton John said, I went down a rabbit hole
in his music last couple of weeks. The Tumbleweek Connection
album has more good songs than not, and he names
a couple of me. He said, I just want to

(02:54:22):
send this to Gregory and say thank you very much,
because I know he wouldn't read it, so I'll send
it to you. You've helped me find some Elton John
songs I didn't know existed, So thank.

Speaker 1 (02:54:32):
You is the Rick Burgess Show, The show that would
make it against the rules to wear duplicate numbers in football.
The Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 3 (02:54:51):
Hate its wish we could ban it. We're back, thanks
for being with us. Another Rick Burgess Show, rolling ride. Yeah,
unscreened phone calls wrapping up the hour. We'll get to
those here momentarily. Uh possibly. Uh so, a couple of
things that we still need to hit, Adler, Let's start

(02:55:13):
with you. I've got I saw this now. Is anybody
unnerved at all? Video four? Is anybody unnerved at all?
When you saw the footage of forty thousand Muslims filling
the streets and you look and you went, wow, well,
there's trouble somewhere. You know, there's there's somewhere at trouble,

(02:55:35):
trouble in the Middle East. Yeah, boy, look at that
right there. Well that's a that's a big protest, a
lot of people. And then all of a sudden you
realize that this is Dearborn, Michigan.

Speaker 4 (02:55:45):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (02:55:46):
Uh, the largest march in America of Muslims filling the
streets in Dearborn, Michigan. So you remember this was a
part of Fota. This is where they go in and
they just kind of take over the community and you
can try to get themselves voted into power. They hide

(02:56:07):
under things like you know that nobody wants to be Islamophobic,
and they use that against you, and then before you
know it, they've kind of taken over the community and
they begin to try to force their Sharia law on everybody.
And they're upset about what are they celebrating something? Are
they mad about something? What brings the forty thousand.

Speaker 4 (02:56:30):
Are by in march?

Speaker 3 (02:56:32):
This is the largest What does that mean?

Speaker 4 (02:56:34):
It is an occasion religious ceremony?

Speaker 3 (02:56:40):
Is this their trade day?

Speaker 10 (02:56:42):
What is this?

Speaker 4 (02:56:43):
It boosts solidarity of the Islamic nation and it conveys
a discouraging message to enemies. Okay, it is a march,
and wow, I can't read a single flag and there's
hundreds and hundreds of huge flags being waived in this
crowd of forty thousand people and I can't read a
single one of the flags.

Speaker 3 (02:57:01):
Well they got a cool down, They've got that. And
they said the corn dogs weren't bad. Uh, they were
not poor.

Speaker 10 (02:57:09):
Though.

Speaker 4 (02:57:10):
It looks like a gigantic fear.

Speaker 3 (02:57:12):
Right, yeah, it really does. So So there you go.
If if you're there, you're kind of wow, look at
look at there we we have, you know, major cities
all over the world. I have Sherry told me about
this over the weekend, and she doesn't know how how
long ago this interview was from Praguer, you which I
know that Joy Reid doesn't like, but you know, and

(02:57:35):
and uh, having Dennis Praguer still not back. You know,
he had a fall that was so severe it paralyzed him. Wow,
he's been in the hospital and physical therapy or something
for I mean a long long time. But anyways, but
they're continuing, you know, with their other hosts and everything.
And they interviewed and I don't know what they what

(02:57:58):
what does Hungry call their person? And is he a president?
I know that they don't have term limits because he's
been the president for like twenty one years. Oh, I
don't know what it's called. What they officially call the
person prime minister? Okay, So, and they don't have term
limits because he's been this and so you know, he's
getting flak from the European Union because he will not

(02:58:20):
open his borders. Their borders are completely closed. And he
said the reason why I'm doing that, Uh, he's and
and and the European Union is finding him a million
dollars a day because he won't open and he said,
he he's a person complaining about the European Union, like
everybody goes. This was supposed to be them to serve us,

(02:58:42):
the country's in it. Now we've become like we're serving them,
like they tell us what to do and not do
and and all this. And so he was talking about
their minuscule crime rates and the quality of life, and
he said, we're trying to preserve the Hungarian way of life.

(02:59:02):
And so he said, I'm looking at the some of
the larger cities. He goes, London, in Paris, I mean,
they're unrecognizable. And he said, so this open border thing
has has not fared well. And you see the Americans
trying to get their borders at least secure, and he said,
it's not gonna happen here. He said, a long as

(02:59:24):
I'm Prime Minister, it's not gonna happen. But I mean
he's being fined a million dollars a day. Really talking
about the education and everything there that that if you
look at the quality of life there, it's really high.
So that's interesting. Yeah, but they have closed borders completely.

Speaker 4 (02:59:43):
Uh so you talk about the the fall of some
of the world's great cities in which they're totally losing
their cultural identity. Uh no, one like British people don't
live in London anymore, French people don't live in Paris anymore,
that kind of vibe. Yeah, he was talking about that,
and Charlie Kirk was at Oxford University. I guess it
was just like last week or something like that, doing

(03:00:05):
one of these open forum debates, and he really he
really lays it down in about ten minutes of talking
about how just like we owe so much, America owe
so much of what we have, like as far as
our society, our country, our rules, our laws, so many things,
and you guys are letting that slip away by having

(03:00:26):
open borders and letting everyone flood in and not really
worrying about are they going to contribute to society, are
they criminals? Are they going to contribute to our country
and our people. Are they going to pay taxes? Are
they going to learn to speak the language that we
speak in this country, or are they going to fracture
our company, our country? Are they going to you know,
bleep pull from the system, or are they going to

(03:00:48):
or are they going to contribute? And I thought that
was just a really great point the way he laid
that out.

Speaker 3 (03:00:53):
Well, I think it's good because you worry about those
that have been indoctrinated into a fake world at mainly
by academia, and it's good that they have a Charlie
Kirk that is younger can communicate. And I think he's
doing a good job of trying to counter that, you know,
because you have somebody our age or older show up

(03:01:14):
and they're not going to listen. But he gets in
there and mixes it up with him and he's trying
to show them if they'll listen, that they've been brainwashed
by things that aren't real and not true. And he
does a good job of communicating that. He handles himself
really well. So I think I think that's a positive.
And so so we know you're right, and you know

(03:01:34):
and things like, you know this thing of how the
country was, you know, where all a bunch of immigrants. Well,
there's a difference in an immigrant and a settler that
that you know, that was sitting here and settled and
begin to develop the country. And there's a huge difference
between legal and illegal immigration. Which we know very well.
So and it goes back to that that we did
legal because we wanted to know what asset you would

(03:01:56):
be to our country, and if you were an asset
or you were truly flee you know, tyranny, than than
we would. You know, we didn't just have the door
open and anybody come in whenever they want to, because
anybody that can take a step and put it in
front of the other and walk and chew gum, you
can say that's that could that could turn bad. And

(03:02:16):
as we've mentioned, it's we see examples of it with
major cities. Even even in our own country. The sanctuary
cities don't No one wants to live there. I mean,
they've ruined some beautiful cities because if you don't vet people,
not everybody coming in as an asset. Uh and and

(03:02:36):
some come in bent on destruction, and you don't know
that if you don't vet people, it's really pretty logical.
It's not that difficult. One thing that we all deal with, though,
when you are in this country. That's taxes. Good gracious,
what a segue. Let me tell you. Taxes in this
country a happy segment. Yeah, it is. Look, but let's

(03:02:57):
let's let's let's get real. There's the number one collection
agency in the world is the IRS. Okay, and if
you've got a problem with them, let me give you
some good news. They want to resolve it as much
as you do. But you don't need to contact them alone.
You need to use us tax Shield. The Better Business
Bureau gives them an A plus rating, So we like that.
They have tax attorneys and they also have enrolled agents

(03:03:20):
that once worked for the RS and they know how
to go about this and to get with the government
and go ahead and work out a deal. Look, if
Haul of Notes can work it out, you can too, Okay,
but you need some guidance, you need experts to help you.
There's no obligation, but once you call and have a
conversation so you can get your peace of mind back
and financial peace. Okay, call them at one eight hundred
