Speaker 2 (02:34):
It was a very very active weekend. We have much
to tell.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Yes, those of you that are college football fans, Dickey
and Admire should check in today and to pontificate on
another big Tide win. So it was really really funny
because at church yesterday was talking to some of some
of our brothers and these men went with our friend

(03:05):
and man church team member Blake Prime this past fall,
earlier in the fall that were still in the fall,
but they went to Las Vegas and and these men,
and they're all pretty large men, they go into some
of the most dangerous parts of Las Vegas.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
And they go in there to be the light of Christ.
Great thing. So some of the.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
Guys were saying that, you know, they kind of felt
motivated they needed to do that, you know, maybe in
their own city.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
And this is absolutely true.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
And now keep in mind Vegas, most darkest parts of Vegas.
And I said, well, what did y'all decide do? He said,
tell we took home? I said, what he said, l
Subama game?

Speaker 2 (03:46):
I said, what?

Speaker 1 (03:48):
Oh, yeah, we went down to the strip and he
said we were evangelizing. I said, you know, it's one
thing to try to go at evangelize in Alabama game.
It's another thing to go a evangelize. Alabama and LSU
found together.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
And I said, there a long day. And I said,
how'd that go?

Speaker 1 (04:04):
He said, you know what, it wasn't that much different
than going to the darkest places of Las Vegas. How
about this though? They said they did have a gentleman
give his life to Jesus. That's great, right there on
the strip, right there on the strip. Let me hold this.

Speaker 5 (04:16):
But but anyway, so what uniform did they wear?

Speaker 1 (04:19):
Well, they I think they went neutrals. Ok, that's smart. Yeah,
they just wore Jesus uniform.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
That's good.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Uh So anyway, we'll we'll look back on all the
things from the weekend.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
Man, it was it was active. It was crazy.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
It was for me personally, I don't think my I
think my weekend just stopped. Like right now, I'm back
at work so I can get some resks.

Speaker 6 (04:42):
Man.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
Sherry and I, Man, we were on the move. We went.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
Man, it did not stop. Yeah, it did not stop. So, uh,
you know, had to go wedding on Saturday, you know,
didn't didn't disturb football at all two pm.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
Hmm. Uh, but it it was day yeah, but it was.

Speaker 6 (05:02):
It was.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
It was a special wedding. It was good to be there.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
Saw your dad and mom Adler and uh, you know,
I never grow weary, never your Your parents.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
Are amazing people.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
I mean, here they are, and you know they're older
than me, I'll just say that. And they've been singing
for a really long time, okay. And they stood up
there and saying the prayer as beautiful as I've ever
heard it from anyone.

Speaker 5 (05:31):
That's fantastic.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
And I thought to myself, look at them. They're singing
as strong and as good right now as they ever have.
And that's not an easy song, by the way, that
that's a that's a hard song. And they and they
nailed it, and uh an act of Congress was there.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
Got to see them. Fantastic, They said, hello, they had
quite a weekend too.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
Yes, they had a performance Friday night, Yes they did,
you are correct, So uh so anyway, uh got to
got to be there to see another man Ch team member,
Brian Gunn and his beautiful daughter Sarah, the beautiful bride
getting married on Saturday. So that that was got to
see a lot of folks hadn't seen a while. Greg
and I got to see a bunch of folks we

(06:12):
hadn't seen a while. Last night, I mean, Greg and
I let me tell you something. I decided to go
back home. The only thing was worried, I said, going
to going to preach back home. Jesus didn't even farewell
when you did that, you know. And it's a different
when you're looking in the face that those people has
been just known you your whole life.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
It's a different deal. A lot of fun though, of
course a lot of us changed. We looked different. Yes,
a lot of old Hey, a lot of old people there. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
I was one up and I was like, no way
you can do who I think you are. You know,
like like like the pastor of the church. I remember
when he was like a little punk kid.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
Yeah, don't you don't you remember that?

Speaker 1 (06:49):
And like he's and he's the pastor of the church,
and he's got like gray hair and everything. He looks
authoritative and he's up there preaching. I'm like, that's a
little punk kid from home to my home.

Speaker 5 (06:58):
Just be a kid, aid he was a.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Little punkash there is the past. It went well, and
now this is the update. No, no, well once again.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
You know when you go back home and your your
your friends are in charge of something like a church service,
you know, sometimes there was a moment we'll show it
in a minute when I said none, do we.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
Feel good about this? And and I've sent out of
the picture. We'll see it in a minute. We'll talk
about that on the update. I've got some other pictures
coming your way.

Speaker 1 (07:27):
Because also Friday night probably the most unique opportunity to
speak that I've that I've had, and that was extremely unique.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
It was very very unique.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
Yeah, yeah, so I'll talk about that. So we we've
got some stuff from from the weekend. As you can imagine,
that's that's a doozy and and I say it was
last night was a little different being back in Calhoun
County and there was so many moments where I thought,
I just don't know that this is this is good.

(07:58):
And one of them is when I look and walk
across the parking lot, I see Greg and I'm like, hey,
this is my baby brother. And then all of a sudden,
I just hear this noise and I look walking beside him.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
Is the very large. Gerald Kates with a new mustache.
Rig show us what to till he is and and
I and I look and he's walking, and for some reason,
Kates is now sporting some mustache. I don't even know
how to describe it.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
I looked at that mustache and it likes something you'd
have on your sink to scrub the sink.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
I don't I don't even know what we know. The sash,
it's kind of a salt and pepper, big thick stash. Yeah. Oh,
it's real thick, but it's it's almost like too thick.
You'll be like, it's like said, it's covered too much ground.
Rig burgis where you hate. You didn't get in noise,
you know it. And I'm like, well, here he is.

(08:51):
And then this is the one that really got me.

Speaker 5 (08:53):
What does he think? He's in the oak Ridge boys.

Speaker 6 (08:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
Look, so I look, and all of a sudden, I
hear these terrible words. Oh he's too crowd down there.
Me and Gregor was in the buccony and I'm like,
and I looked, and I said, I don't.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
I don't want y'all sitting together at all, and not
in the balcony.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
Me and greg the balcony.

Speaker 6 (09:13):
It was good.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
He didn't, all right, because I'm going to real good
and I'm like, I wouldn't look up there. I wanted
to look up there because I knew i'd see some
face or something you see. So so it was it
was interesting. So we had fun. It was good.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
A lot of stories coming up from the weekend, a
lot of updates from the weekend. And today I'll tell
you something specialists going on today as we approach. You
know when when this year ends, folks, it's it's Simmi
Quin Centennial. We come back ninety six. We're gonna set
about two hundred and fifty years of America. We'll be

(09:50):
right back.

Speaker 7 (09:51):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (09:59):
We we'll do that with all of our other states.
But today, believe it or not, Today, if you are
in the Marine Corps and we thank you for your
service past and present, the United States Marine Corps turns
two hundred and fifty today today today, wow, two hundred
and fifty years old. So there will actually be at

(10:24):
the American Village in Sweet Home, Alabama, for those of
you who live in Alabama, an official cake cutting ceremony.
You can also host your own your community if you
want to, if you'd like to find out more about that,
just stand, just get with the American village. So thank
you to the Marine Corps. Two hundred and fifty years

(10:44):
a legacy of honor, courage, and commitment that started in
seventeen seventy five. Today, wowow did y'all know that?

Speaker 8 (10:54):
I heard I heard it coming in. I didn't hear
the details you just gave.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
But that's special. And then Veterans Day tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
Yeah, let's correct, Veterans Day tomorrow. So we'll be sure
and say thanks to all of you. We did the
thing yesterday at church you know where you know, have
everybody stand up who's ever served, and that's always special.
And then of course we have the guy in our
church that's about to turn one hundred, the colonel, and
he stands up and he can still stand up at
ninety nine and about to turn one hundred, the colonel

(11:23):
stands up, he gets a standing up.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
So so yeah, it's so we have a lot to
celebrate today and.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
Tomorrows, as you mentioned concerning our military, so we will
do so.

Speaker 8 (11:32):
I don't know if it was on the BBC. I
believe it was a London television station they had that
they had someone I think he might have been a hundred.
He was a veteran that that was being interviewed, and
he broke down and got upset about what the world
and the country.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
Oh I saw that, Yeah, it and like all of.

Speaker 8 (11:54):
His best friends, he saw them get killed in front
of him, and he's like, you know, what did we
what did they die for?

Speaker 5 (12:01):
It's worse now, all this stuff and you're like, oh no.

Speaker 8 (12:04):
And the lady I thought did pretty good. She tried
to say, hey, no, what you did did matter, you know,
and they needed.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
It's our job for it's our job to.

Speaker 8 (12:13):
Make sure that everybody understands what your friends did sacrifice
and what you've sacrificed throughout your life, you know, your service.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
Yeah, it's horrible.

Speaker 1 (12:22):
Now you've just ruined the moment yesterday at church, cause
here it is. I think to myself, the colonel lived
long enough now to see some of the stupid things
we're doing.

Speaker 8 (12:30):
Yeah, and Greg, yes he is old, and yes he's
a little bent over, and yes, you know he's he's
got an English accent. So let's get that out of
the way, because you're gonna I know how we'll break
down somebody's appearance.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
He's not gonna eat, is he?

Speaker 3 (12:42):
No?

Speaker 8 (12:42):
But but he's they're just they're just talking about speedy.

Speaker 9 (12:45):
I actually couldn't even watch this. I just read about it,
and this is the longest clip. Do we want to
come back?

Speaker 2 (12:52):
I I mean, we don't have to have You could
just play just a few seconds of it where she says,
I'm sorry, I'm so sorry you feel that way?

Speaker 8 (13:00):
Mean for you?

Speaker 2 (13:01):
What is your message?

Speaker 10 (13:03):
My message is I can see in my mind's eye
of rose and rose, of white stones, of all the
hundreds of my friends and everybody else that gave their
lives for what the country of today.

Speaker 2 (13:21):
No, I'm sorry.

Speaker 10 (13:23):
The sacrifice wasn't worth the result that it is now.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
Well, I'm sorry what do you mean by that? Though?
What we thought for, we thought for was their freedom
with father.

Speaker 10 (13:39):
Even now it's the downsite worst and what it was
when I fought for it.

Speaker 9 (13:47):
Wow, freedom in the UK, by the way, what it
used to be.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
That's what you sound like speeding when you try to
do an English accent.

Speaker 5 (13:55):
That's not the takeaway from this clip.

Speaker 11 (13:57):
That's true, a good point, but it does sound just
like once he started doing it.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
Yeah, just like you tried it again again. That goes
sad that. That's the takeaway, guys. The freedom in the
UK is not what it if you think we've we've
given them freedom away. Of course we have. Right his
latest election of New York right, like we mentioned, I mean,
we couldn't even remember nine eleven long enough not to
elect a mayor. We went to his parents house the

(14:27):
other day and they got in some commentary about about
what New York's doing. But the but the English have
they're further gone than we are. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (14:35):
Wow, they're leading the way because we always end up
being doing what they're doing now, we do it later.

Speaker 9 (14:40):
Right, Yeah, they're a little bit in the future there,
of course because of Greg. When we had everybody stand
up in church to honor the veterans because of Greg,
I'm looking around looking for stolen valor.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
Look that we think nowadays there's idiots that will do it.
I had one. I had one guy I wasn't sure about.

Speaker 9 (15:01):
I had one guy. I was like there, hair cuts
a little messy, buddy.

Speaker 1 (15:04):
Well, and I can't say anything because there was a
little bit of a notion for me to stand but
I knew better that's good.

Speaker 2 (15:10):
How did people know you?

Speaker 1 (15:12):
I used to do that about any when they were asked.
When I caught myself because it's instinctive. This is too serious.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
You don't do these no.

Speaker 1 (15:20):
Yeah, And when I stood with the honor roll at graduation,
that's kind of funny.

Speaker 5 (15:25):
But but a's and a's only.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
Yeah. Right now, we'd like to recognize those that have
carried have carried an average of ninety eight or above.

Speaker 11 (15:34):
You stood up and I stood up with him proudly.

Speaker 2 (15:38):
My mom was furious.

Speaker 1 (15:40):
This is I get caught them videos watching people getting
busted for stolen valid, buddy, and it's pretty awesome.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
It's pretty awesome when they bust them.

Speaker 6 (15:47):
Do that.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
Don't make you uncomfortable, well, not any time. I love
seeing them being exposed.

Speaker 1 (15:52):
And they're always they're always slightly overweight, and their uniform
that they bought somewhere it's a little tight.

Speaker 9 (15:58):
Oh yeah, to ask them about a patch, like why
is your patch on this shoulder and they're like, yes, that's.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
How my commander told me to do it. Yeah. I've
yet to watch one of those clips all the way through.
Oh I love you can't.

Speaker 8 (16:10):
The worst was like at the food court at the mall. Yeah,
some guys getting busted for somebody.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
That was starting questioning what you got this and he
don't have an answer. Huh yeah, horrible.

Speaker 1 (16:20):
Yeah, the worst was fitting this one before they busted him.
He was been down like this little kid and the
kid was like he was he.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
Was just big okay soldier and then the guy comes
up busting him. Are you being straight up? Don't say
that he's talking gets busted.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
Yeah, Greg, can I quote Paul McCart you don't say it,
you didn't say anything. But but anyway, somehow we went
down this road when I'm simply trying to say.

Speaker 2 (16:50):
Happy birthday to the Marine Corps. Yeah, I just Tomor's
Veterans Day. Yeah it is sure is wow.

Speaker 1 (16:58):
But but anyways, so so we will we will not
try to be negative and think about the bad things.
I think we just need to take these two days
and say things. Yeah, you know, it goes back to anything.
That's what I like to tell cod you I had
a chance. But it goes back to anything I've heard
people before that like like what happened to us one time? Greg,
Remember we did something you give to an organization, you

(17:19):
find out they weren't doing with the money what they
said they were going to do and what you have
to do though, just like to the veterans, what y'all
have done and continue to do, you're doing it. You
should be honored for the fact that you're doing it.
The result is not on y'all, Okay, your leader, and
you know, if you give to an organization and your
heart was in the right place, if the organization screws
it up, that's on them. They'll be held accountable for that.

(17:42):
That does not diminish your commitment and your sacrifice in
any way shape of trime. Your service mattered, yeah, no
matter what, Yes, sir, even if it just it mattered
in that moment, it still.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
Matters, absolutely.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
And if you think that it's bad, if you are
not doing and have it or didn't do what you
did in the past, it would be worse.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
Oh boy, yeah, man, absolutely, bottom of the hour. We'll
be back. You got the Rick Burgess Show rolling for
another week, how about you?

Speaker 7 (18:14):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
All right.

Speaker 1 (18:23):
Everybody knows that college is a major investment, really important
to do your research and if you want to find
a school that shares your values, how on the word,
are you going to do that? Do you really have
the time to do all that research? No, But here
is a free resource that has done the research for you.

(18:43):
All you have to do is access it. It's called college.
It's called Christiancollegeguide dot com. Christiancollegeguide dot com. Yeah, two
hundred and fifty Christian colleges. Now, because a lot of
times you think, well, I can solve all this, I'll
just send my kid to a Christian college. Oh whoa,
hang on, hang on, a lot of times that doesn't

(19:05):
mean anything. It can't even be worse sometimes, So do
your background work. Go to Christiancollegeguide dot com. All the
basics are there, acceptance rates, tuition cost, academic majors. But
what makes this resource truly special is that Christiancollegeguide dot
Com will show you the school's faith commitments, the campus policies,

(19:28):
it's spiritual life, all the info that will help you
find a college that you can trust. Yeah, this is
the definitive guide to Christian higher education and it is
free to use. If you'd like to create your free
user profile, you can get started today. That's Christiancollegeguide dot com.

Speaker 2 (19:52):
Another week. Well we're getting close, aren't we. Here we go.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
It won't be long, folks, it'll be Thanksgiving and we're
off and running to the holiday season. We got big
plans for all of you.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
You want to stick around, all right?

Speaker 1 (20:11):
So looking back over the weekend, you know, there's been
so many opportunities of cool things that we've got to do.
And you know, have you have you ever had somebody
talking to you about something and you just can't quite
visualize it until you're there, You know what you can't

(20:35):
you can't get it. And so I was. I was
talking to my beautiful bride and her her brother. She
has three brothers, and one of them is a pastor
uh in the blunts Full area and Summit is the
actual community. And so I get home one day and

(20:56):
she said, you know, Jamie, which is her brother, uh
Bodine James Bowdine at Summit Church in the Bluntsville area, says,
you know, he's he's been. He just feels like God
is calling him to start to do a revival weekend.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
I thought, Okay, this sounds great.

Speaker 1 (21:16):
And and and he has he's built are you seeing this?
There's this place by the church and he wants to
build a brush harbor like the Israelites used to do
as part of one of their festivals, and you know,
the the Festival of Tents and all that, and they
would go and build these brush arbors and they remember

(21:37):
what it was like to be out in the wilderness,
you know, and how God delivered them from that and
uh and and and I said, okay, that sounds cool.
And he was wondering if you would come and kick
it off. Yeah, sure, I'd be happy to if you know,
we don't have any conflicts, and he wants you to
preach from it. And I'm like, I'm sorry in November
uh and uh and she was like yeah. I said, well,

(21:59):
what what is it? It's like a shed kind of thing.
And she was like right, and it's up on some
rocks and and I just couldn't see it, you know
what I mean in my mind, I was like what, Yeah,
And of course you know it's family. So I'm like, sure,
I'm in. You know, my footing is not great, I said,
you know, I played a little ball, got that injury
from men too.

Speaker 2 (22:19):
And uh.

Speaker 1 (22:20):
And so first of all, I watch and you know,
we've had pretty dry forecast where we are. The week
had no rain except on Friday, yeah, and I felt
bad for him and I was like, man, and you
know what, he never wavered. He said no, he said,
we've been praying and he says it's not gonna rain.

Speaker 2 (22:39):
And I said that I'm not sure. James Span agrees
with you. Have you have you seen the forecastle.

Speaker 1 (22:45):
I mean they're even saying that could be like some
rough thunderstorms or whatever. Now now we're it's still on.
I said, so you're not moving it inside? He goes, Now,
he said, because I honestly think we're gonna be fine.
We've been praying about it and it's gonna be dry
for the for the service. Okay, of course, you know me,
man of great faith, I'm like thing and worn porn

(23:08):
and so you get So let me tell you something
that blew me away. So it's it's it's twenty four
hours now before the event last Thursday, and I'll start
pulling up the forecast, and I just watched that rain
move out of that area until deep into overnight, when
the original forecast had been it was going to rain

(23:30):
right at that time. And we show up and look
at this beautiful picture for those of you that have
the YouTube option, and look it is clear. The temperature,
it's not overly cold. They got a fire going over here.
It's very comfortable. And I was able to preach and
those of you that don't have the option, I put
it on my Instagram, I think Friday night after it

(23:51):
was over to go.

Speaker 2 (23:52):
Look at it. It's really cool and that that beautiful
vision and getting up under that that brush arbor and and.

Speaker 1 (24:00):
Preaching was a really cool experience. And there was a
great turnout. A lot of people came. This kind of
kicked off the weekend that had some other speakers coming
in and then they even had the youth back out
there last night, and so it was it was special.
It was it was a really really moving deal. Got
to got to you know, and then they had a

(24:21):
guitar player. And I think the moment that I knew that,
you know, it couldn't get much better, is right when
the guy who was doing worship was about to stop
and he said, you know, I'd say it, you know,
unless y'all want me to do another one.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
Of course, I hear from from the crowd, I fly away,
and he goes, I fly away. He reaches over, pulls.

Speaker 1 (24:42):
Out a banjo from the nineteen twenties, whoa and begins
to pick and does I fly away on banjo? And
I thought, man, this is this is really cool. So
I've gotten to do a lot of things, I mean,
and and by the grace of God, even some pretty
big arena type things. I don't know that I've ever

(25:04):
done anything that was special. It's being in a little
small town standing under a brush arbor outside with the fire,
talking about Jesus.

Speaker 2 (25:17):
It was. It was cool, it was it was a
great experience.

Speaker 8 (25:20):
And you know, I know the message was great and
there was a good crowd. I'm just thinking about all
the handymen that had to build that.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
Well, well, there was an awkward moment, you know, because
you know, all the Bowdines can build. You know, they
come from there. They come from a long line of Stonemasons.
They build anything, you know, they build their own houses,
that kind of kind of And so I'm a bit
of a eyesore for them when I married their sister.

Speaker 2 (25:46):
But anyway, and brought zero to the table. But but that.

Speaker 1 (25:50):
Was then, and that's this is now. And I wish
you had seen my brother in law when I said, hey, man,
did you not want to come help build a brush arbor.

Speaker 2 (25:59):
He just looked at me. Okay, now cause I want
you to look. That's pretty that's pretty impressive. All right,
So right here, love this Look what's holding them up? Stump?
It looks like stumps. Oh yeah, they cut stumps. Yeah,
these are cedar trees. Oh wow, this is very nice.

Speaker 5 (26:21):
You like and you you you could have helped.

Speaker 2 (26:24):
You didn't help it. You could have. And I'm assuming
so that I caught it a pergola and that did not.
It does kind of have the look I said, this
is kind of like a pargola.

Speaker 9 (26:33):
You do keep saying brush harbor, also harbor the second
time you said harbor in the harbor?

Speaker 2 (26:40):
There are you out in the harbor.

Speaker 5 (26:44):
The ocean?

Speaker 2 (26:44):
No, no, I brushed harbors where we had lunch over
over at the city harbor there in Gunners right right.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
And can I tell you what my father in law
is tired of is every time we eat there, I
keep saying harbor, like I'm in Boston, you might go
in the city habit And he looked at me like,
you know the first time you did that, like last year,
it's wearing on me. We don't have to say hi
every time we say it, and so anyway that that

(27:12):
was a very cool, cool event. So thanks to everybody
that came out to that and let me be part
of that. And I thought a brush arbor was really
really cool and kind of wish I'd been asked to
help with it, but that's fine.

Speaker 8 (27:28):
A glow of a fire going really nice that it looked
like it was up on the hill and kind of.

Speaker 2 (27:34):
Yeah, and how that work, I will tell you where.

Speaker 1 (27:37):
It was a little bit of a strokes all kinds
aside is when I got up there and realized that
the little you know, they had a light on there
for you to put the Bible on. One of those songs.
Was it called stands music stands. It was sitting on
a rock.

Speaker 2 (27:52):
So there's rocks up there. I had to stand on
a rock.

Speaker 7 (27:55):
Of course.

Speaker 2 (27:55):
I opened up.

Speaker 1 (27:56):
I said, you know, we always stand on the rock
that is Jesus, But tonight I'm on.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
A literal rock. And it wasn't flat.

Speaker 7 (28:03):
It was a little.

Speaker 2 (28:05):
Feet herding.

Speaker 1 (28:06):
And you know I usually move around, you like to
pay in the holy ghost takes a hold of me,
I'll walk. I didn't walk around on that. I don't
think any ground. I don't think anybody wanted to see
the guy with the message fall.

Speaker 2 (28:18):
No knock everything over? What if I what if I fail?
Knocked the brush arbor down on top and rolled down
to where the fire is. You can't see. You can't
worry about that. He an't worry about that. So that
was special everyway. And that got us started. I got

(28:38):
got the weekend started because that was just the beginning
of it. We'll hit we'll hit some more of that
later on. Hit me because wherever y'all were, y'all didn't
think that's where what I was doing. I was at
the Birmingham International Airports and if my son would land right,
shut down.

Speaker 1 (28:56):
Right trying to go the bathroom. A little dark out there.
I wish I've seen that ditch.

Speaker 4 (29:01):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, so wow.

Speaker 2 (29:10):
People are sending us on text nation.

Speaker 8 (29:12):
People deer hunting, Hey in this wind I know, good luck.
I don't know where windy where you're hunting if it's windy,
but it is where we're sitting this wendy.

Speaker 2 (29:22):
So when you do, uh, when I'm deer hunting, do
you pretty much go out? No matter what I.

Speaker 8 (29:30):
Used to uh? And and I guess it's it's just
a lot of experience. But now look to what your
dad said. You can't you can't, you know, kill him
sitting in here in the wherever and go hunting when
you can unless you sit on a green field. But uh,
you know, so I know you have to go. But

(29:50):
I think I used to. I used to love it
a lot more. And you know, if he's blowing fifteen
to twenty doll, let's go, or it's raining hard, let's
get it out there.

Speaker 2 (29:58):
So when it stops, we're sitting, oh stuff. And I've
seen myself talk myself out of it a lot more.
Can I last years? Yeah? Can I get y'all to
commit to something for this year too? And we've all
experienced it. I won't do it.

Speaker 1 (30:12):
If y'all want okay, okay, fifteen mile hour wins okay,
and uh and something well we'll say, man, you know
that's not a good win. It's it's high wind, y'all
even want to go out. I will not be this
person with rain wind whatever. I won't be this person.
And y'all have to commit not to be this person
eating Okay, h.

Speaker 7 (30:32):
Hey, let me cha you something, buddy of mine.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
Biggest day ever kill thirty five million hour wind, rain
and sideworks. Will you please? Can we not do that?
I get it. It's not an exact science, right, And.

Speaker 1 (30:45):
And Greg, you of course has made it made us
all realize that means a ten mile hour wind and
it was missing it.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
Doesn't They always make the conditions worse than they were.

Speaker 1 (30:55):
Oh yeah, okay, just a little bit a little embellishment there,
as if the truth isn't enough, right, thirty five miles
an hour, yeah, says it.

Speaker 5 (31:05):
Was snowing too.

Speaker 2 (31:06):
It was raining and snowing. Hey, let me usually the
conditions when you cut out you do, Hey, you won't
see as many deer, but you'll see the biggest buddy
of mine. It's always that he's killed him that way.

Speaker 1 (31:18):
Do you have my granddaddy's biggest deer ever killed taking
a dump thirty five winds coming.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
From behind him right through with smell, raining, sideways, lightning,
you know what? Yeah, And you're right just to the
left of the field. You remember the tornado or so
and so buddy mine killed deer right in the middle
of it. I mean, your biggest one ever killed, right,
there's always that person. Yeah, And look, I've done that
before where I've gone out in bad conditions. And I've

(31:48):
set there and yeah, I've seen one long deer come through,
but I've never had some great experience at it. Now
I don't have all those stories the best one ever killed?

Speaker 6 (31:58):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (31:58):
Yeah, well, and plus this, I mean I saw you know,
of course you can't help, but see Gerald Kates if
he's anywhere. But last night, of all the things that
Gerald Kate was talking about, and this shows how we're getting.
And Gerald's just as bad as the rest of us,
what are you talking about the most camp hous breakfast?

Speaker 2 (32:16):
Yeah, come down to camp. Camp has breakfast. And I'm like,
so we're not even talking about hunting anymore. All we're
talking about is by watch a little football, your little
camp house breakman. I'm like, we ain't mentioned hunting yet. Yeah,
you know it.

Speaker 8 (32:30):
No do y'all find yourself some years being more intent
than others? Now, I understand life has a lot to
do with that, right, Uh. And what you got going
on personally? Yeah, but I've noticed that too. Some years
it's like you're really all just jacked, and then other
years you're.

Speaker 2 (32:46):
Like, eh, and this is bad.

Speaker 1 (32:49):
Let me take the spiritual side out of it before
you all start getting on me. Okay, I understand how
grateful we should be for God's grace. And I'm thankful
that God came as this baby in the manger, Okay,
and I'm grateful and I'm thankful for all he did.
I'm not talking about that, Okay, that would actually not
be a hassled off.

Speaker 2 (33:06):
We just focus on that.

Speaker 1 (33:07):
But I will tell y'all, and I know, I know
some years, some years I'm that person therebody goes, wow,
rix Jolly, I don't have the energy for the for
the holidays issue.

Speaker 2 (33:19):
I just don't know. I'm just like, just like, could
we just could we just take this down to it's.

Speaker 1 (33:26):
Like, could we all just like tell everybody, you know,
let's let's all be thankful and lets and let's let's
let's remember the you know, when God became a man.
Can we just take the rest of it and not
fool with it? I mean, I mean, just just that
you gotta get.

Speaker 2 (33:42):
Ready, you gotta get these years and you gotta go ad,
we gotta get done with.

Speaker 1 (33:47):
I mean some years, some years I'm all in, I'm like, oh,
I love all this, and then there's years I'm just like,
you know, I just wish this thing could be low key.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
I know, I know, yeah, Terry. Now, we were eating
one night this past week and she's like, blam, so
far behind, Like what do you mean you behind? See that?

Speaker 1 (34:02):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (34:02):
We just got to get that stressed. We got to
get that decorated. And I said, honey, and she's like, well,
I don't know what Thanksgiving being late this year, there's
only three and a half weeks join you Like, man,
you're working me up.

Speaker 9 (34:14):
I had to tell my wife, hey, because I got
a Christmas tree out of the attic this weekend.

Speaker 5 (34:19):
A boy, everybody, anybody.

Speaker 2 (34:20):
Else there, Y know, I've been there.

Speaker 5 (34:23):
So you been there?

Speaker 2 (34:24):
Oh yeah it was last week. I just went ahead
and got it down.

Speaker 9 (34:27):
I went I got it down this week and the
boxer stacking up. I had to tell my wife, hey,
enjoy this, at least enjoy this, because I'm not going
to enjoy this. I need somebody to enjoy this. And
you're you're in a frenzy here. Let's just lad, let's
get jolly with it.

Speaker 1 (34:43):
I'd be thrilled if we pulled out when in the
little Christmas trees you can put on the desk, plug
it in, and uh and and and and turn.

Speaker 2 (34:52):
On a Christmas ship show. Yeah, and that's it. And
I would I would.

Speaker 1 (34:56):
Just say, hey, you want to put one pumpkin in
the middle of the table for Thanksgiving?

Speaker 2 (34:59):
That's great, you know, but this this big production.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
Right, I mean sometimes I envy the people that are
gonna have Thanksgiving dinner at crackerber.

Speaker 2 (35:08):
Let's just go get something. You're right, and you're terrible
so much, it's terrible. Yeah, you ain't getting to say, uh,
you know branch last year, last year, you're your preparation
for Christmas last year. I remember it started in September. Yeah,
oh yeah, I'm already dreading next year. And this year

(35:29):
you're back to hosting that year. I'm already dreading it.
I got a whole other year.

Speaker 5 (35:35):
Fake Christmas trees? Why are they so sharp? Why are
fake Christmas trees so sharp?

Speaker 9 (35:39):
I worked in reel brush this weekend and it was
way softer than the than the fake yarma.

Speaker 7 (35:45):
Yeah, this is the Rick Burdger's Show, all right.

Speaker 1 (35:54):
So they're live now. Uh, the newest show here on

Lomaz keeperman and English professor turned renegade culture writer publisher,

not at Blaze TV. You can watch it right now
on Blaze TV, or you can head on over to
YouTube dot com slash rufo, r ufo and lo mez.
That's YouTube dot com, slash rufo and lomz.

Speaker 2 (36:40):
This is a show. This is a show, look you
can't miss that is now available. Brand new episode episode
twenty Strange Encounters out over the weekend. So if you didn't,

(37:02):
if you haven't checked it.

Speaker 1 (37:03):
Out, either watch it or listen to it wherever you
get podcasts and also on the Rick Burgess Show YouTube channel.
We deal with psychics. What does scripture have to say
about that? Okay, check it out. Okay, I don't know
when I think so. I need y'all to help me

(37:25):
with this. Okay, man, help me with this, audience, help
me with this. I don't know whether this is me
thinking I could have something. There's a bit of a
backhanded blessing in here, but yet it'd be nice if
I didn't need this. But I guess it almost kind

(37:47):
of worked out. And of course this is involving Gary.
I just got an email from somebody says, I don't
know if this is worthy enough to talk about on
the show, but anyway, I was near where you and
your family have your farm. I was at a church
over the weekend for a birthday party on Friday night,
and who walks in? Gary the bulldozer Man spur Master

(38:10):
vines he was invited.

Speaker 8 (38:12):
You remember he said he was going to a birthday
Friday night, birthday speak at it.

Speaker 2 (38:17):
Remember that's why he wasna dressed Friday. But this that's
dressing early. But I think this person, I think this
person gracious. I think I think this person is mistaken though.
Just listen.

Speaker 1 (38:31):
Turns out he was really kind. He was kind of
my wife, and he is my wife's grandmother's nephew. Wi
his son was married to my cousin.

Speaker 2 (38:43):
Mm hmm, cousin, we're going I thought it.

Speaker 1 (38:49):
I think it goes to show how small our world
actually is. And by the way, I'm in love with
the new show and the podcast Strange Encounters.

Speaker 2 (38:55):
Well, thank you. He sees Gary, but he says Gary's nice.
You know, I think it's mistaken. That couldn't have been Gary.
I wonder if he had on his khakis and it's
it's but I'm here for this little birthday party and
I got I got my button down on. I'm talking
it into mykhaky.

Speaker 1 (39:10):
I'm like speaking a little early to get dressed for
the party. Really was it was twelve because at least four.
By the way, the way he was dressed on Friday's
show was was really he wanted to show. I'm gonna
tell you what it is. He's starting to embrace his
celebrity a little bit. Yeah, Hey, I gotta look nice.

Speaker 2 (39:27):
People expect it.

Speaker 8 (39:28):
Yeah, I can't show, you know, I asked him, Uh Friday,
when he was here, I was like, why didn't people
see the nice Gary that I know?

Speaker 2 (39:34):
You know why I did? Oh? You know, big old
you know our nose Gary. And here he comes everything.
But you know, in the right setting, he can be
very quiet. He could be quite He's got a bit
of a soft heart. He can a little softer underbelly.

Speaker 8 (39:48):
And I think that's a soft underbelly, you know, type
of if you had a church.

Speaker 1 (39:54):
Right, were like like deep down and I mean serious
biss I mean he he and Sherrie.

Speaker 2 (39:58):
It's a funny little thing we talk about. But he's
gonna always take care of share. Oh no, no, I'm
gonna take care of this share now, scared of she mean,
but I'll take care of her. I ain't nobody gonna
mess with a little misshire Now. She may not need
nobody because she mean, but she does. I will. He
looks after you know. But on that note, it's still gary.

(40:21):
It is.

Speaker 1 (40:21):
So I had a mammoth weekend ahead of me. Mammoth okay,
so I don't have time for fos. So you know
you gave me speedy. You shared your your fence guy,
so I know he was used to somebody haggling over
the price.

Speaker 2 (40:37):
So uh so he great guy, great price, that's right.

Speaker 1 (40:41):
So so he We we had some fence that that
for years needed to be finished and it had not
been finished. Had a major hanging that up a lot,
had a major fence project a few years ago. Great guy,
great people that did a great job, got it done.
But there were still things that needed to be done later.
There's some repairs that need to be done on that

(41:03):
fence project.

Speaker 2 (41:04):
Because of trees and and you have a fence project.
Oh yes, I will. Greg. If you have land, you
gonna have fence.

Speaker 1 (41:10):
Especially you know, Sherry is very, very very and it's
I wouldn't be this way.

Speaker 2 (41:15):
She's right. You know, you have to have your property
fenced if you can, because if not, even though people
can get around a fence, if they break in, at
least you go, we know they knew where the line was.
I mean, we have it all marked, and she's real
big on it all be marked and having it and
plus then you have fences that just look good. Well,
like we find out we have a pastor and I
noticed that this on the dirt road. Well, people just

(41:37):
run off and your past your mudd and stuff like that.
At least put a fence up so they look and go.
I guess they don't want us to do that. They
won't run through it.

Speaker 1 (41:44):
Yeah right, well most won't. Well, so so remember I
think it. I think it's a joke, of course. So
I'm I'm I'm driving to pick up Sherry and head
into the mammoth weekend. We got an event on Friday night,
we got a wedding on Saturday. We're teaching Sunday school
on Sunday, another event Sunday night. We're not gonna come

(42:06):
off the road all weekend. Okay, And even when we
get back home, we're only gonna be there for a
few minutes before we go to the next thing. It's
one of those weekends.

Speaker 2 (42:14):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (42:15):
I see texts, Hey call me quickly. Now, Gary will
do a call me, but call me quickly. That that
means that's the next level. I ain't playing no games.
Hey call me quickly. Well, I even think, well maybe
if the quickly wasn't there.

Speaker 2 (42:30):
He does, he doesn't. He likes to sometimes.

Speaker 1 (42:32):
He likes to sometimes review if he's on the show.
How do you think that went today? You know, got
all kinds of people texts.

Speaker 2 (42:39):
So that's a nice looking fence.

Speaker 1 (42:42):
Well it was, uh, and so I get I pick up.
Gary's like, hey, we got problems down here, we got bees,
you got my bees bees?

Speaker 2 (42:53):
Whatever? He goes somebody somebody, somebody's done crashed into defense.
But I said, Gary, is this the fance? Gary put up? Yes,
I said, I said, Gary, I don't have I don't
have time for this. This isn't a new project. No, okay, okay,
you really all right, But like so it's the one
on the backside, right there by the road. Yeah, the
one that Gary says that we're not using. You got

(43:15):
that crazy rocks then, yeah, for some reason.

Speaker 1 (43:18):
So anyway, this is the one where, of course my
neighbor decided that I wouldn't use it, so he started
using it. But do you know, but that's you know,
it didn't no matter what I was using the time.
But anyway, so but now we know and we needed
to put but there is new fence going back there too,
to to for the other part of the property line
that remember, it wasn't completed, so that's part of this project.
Uh So then about that time I'm thinking he's joking

(43:41):
with me. I noticed that one of my neighbors down
there is trying to call me too, and I thought, okay,
this is real. This is dog gone real gum, because
the neighbors that are trying to call me lives right
there where this fence is. Well, apparently, God God bless her.
An older lady passed out at the wheel. Praise God,

(44:03):
Praise God. She didn't get hurt in the crash or
hurt anybody. She could have gone the other way and
went into.

Speaker 2 (44:10):
Oncoming traffic if there would had what you know, because
that road's not crazy active, but it's more active. Yeah,
it's pretty active, okay, and this is quite the same.

Speaker 1 (44:19):
So she crashes into the fence, tearing the fence down
and then also got into the black chain link fence,
which is part of the ongoing repair project. So I
think we had repaired offence that she the car did
damage again and her car just plowed into it.

Speaker 2 (44:37):
So knocked down at Ruther. Oh man, see that's that's lucky.
She's okay. Yeah, and there's but that part's new goodbye.
That part was.

Speaker 1 (44:48):
Being repaired, so now it's going to have to be
repaired again. So now keep in mind, I think I'm
being prank then realize I'm not, and I did. I
did just for you say anything, Adler. Yes, I asked
if she was okay, okay, and they said she's okay
from the crash.

Speaker 2 (45:03):
How's the fence.

Speaker 1 (45:04):
But the paramedics still say, but you passed out at
the wheel. Yeah, that's not so we got to take
you to the hospital. You really shouldn't be passing out
at the wheel. No, So so they took her to
the hospital for that. Her car is damage and and
you know, her insurance at some point, would you know,
will pay for whatever that crash?

Speaker 6 (45:21):
Said?

Speaker 1 (45:22):
He come cutting through towards us this way. Yeah, and
so so now I become.

Speaker 2 (45:27):
That goodness, she didn't go into own image.

Speaker 1 (45:29):
So now I become Gary to the fence guy because
he's he listens to the show. He knows how we
cut up. Yeah, And I said, hey, man, are you
are you down there right now? He said, I'm not.
But the crew, I said, the crew down there? He
said yeah.

Speaker 2 (45:42):
And I said Joe down there, and he's just the
you know, he said, the foreman. He said, I used
to wrestle. You know that, right, Yes, I do. Yeah.
So he told me about that. We've met this guy, yeah, yeah,
of course. My My first thing I asked him was
I said, you're thinking how seventy five? Ye? So anyway,
I rubbed his shoulders before, but that's good. He tells

(46:03):
me about that shoulders. He had a nod. He asked
me to get out adler picture. You're me. I'm talking,
I'm talking.

Speaker 1 (46:09):
I'm talking to the supervisor, the foreman of the job.
He's marking off for a fence post should be. And
he comes over to me and says, you might remember
me Speedy rubbed my shoulders and I.

Speaker 2 (46:19):
Was like, well, what I had it was a trainer
kind of thing. You weren't He was in a host
and you were hosting.

Speaker 1 (46:28):
And my first thought, you know, first thing, the first
thing I said to him, I said, I said, you're
the first. You're not the first person they'll say that,
but you are the first male. But anyway, all right, okay,
all right, but anyway, so so now I call your
fence guy, Alex, and I said, hey, man, good ways
from the road.

Speaker 2 (46:48):
Listen. He said, I'm already gone. I said, we've had
somebody crash into the fence. He goes, okay, I'm sorry,
I said, I said, I am in the air and
I said, I said Paul. I said, by the way,
I wish I was kidding, was it Dicky Nadmire?

Speaker 1 (47:05):
I said, straight up, somebody's crashed into the fence. He goes, well,
and I started sitting in pictures and he said okay.
I said, so I guess just tell the crew add
this to the list. Yeah, so at least there was
a fence crew down there. Are you gonna let Gary
fix that the first part there? No, since he didn't
written no no.

Speaker 5 (47:25):
So there's a fence crew down there already and hit
him on it.

Speaker 2 (47:29):
I gotta tell you the way, the way she hid it.
I mean it was kind of a clean, clean break.
It was I think, I thank God.

Speaker 8 (47:38):
Again, thank goodness. She's okay, and we finally got there
in the text.

Speaker 2 (47:41):
Yeah. Yeah, we talked about the fence first, right a lot. Yeah, no,
the fence.

Speaker 1 (47:47):
So let me ask you all, so, let me ask
you this. Where does this land? Where's this land on?
You can't have nothing? The fact there's a crew down
there that can just go over and repair it while
they're down there.

Speaker 2 (47:59):
Does that you can have a crew, I guess. But
I can have a crew, just not a fence.

Speaker 5 (48:03):
Yeah, yeah, right, And that lady can't have a car.

Speaker 2 (48:07):
Now our cars pretty dead. I mean, this is going
to slow them down.

Speaker 6 (48:13):
P you're right.

Speaker 2 (48:14):
We were making huge progress, by the way, huge progress.

Speaker 1 (48:19):
So now this okay, you're right. Now we got to
now we're fixing fence. We didn't think we had to fix.

Speaker 2 (48:23):
Yeah, but she is okay. Rick the lady's okay.

Speaker 4 (48:28):
Well don't I don't know why, right, right is the
Rick Burgess show.

Speaker 2 (48:41):
This would this would apply to us, by the way,
all right, uh because of the time that we we
get up and go to work, and a lot of
you out there in the same deal. Anybody know what
dark showering showering is? But showers, Terry, I've heard of
dark shadows showering.

Speaker 8 (49:00):
Harry will take a shower stuff word without turning the
shower light on. Now might be, but like behind the curtain,
it's just she's in the dark.

Speaker 2 (49:08):
I've had that when the bubb blown, I couldn't get
the fixture loose. By the way, my shower bulb will
blink a lot.

Speaker 7 (49:15):
It's problem.

Speaker 2 (49:15):
It's problematic. Well you're handy, so get it done.

Speaker 1 (49:18):
Well, I have, I've changed it out. That's it just
didn't do well. Wow, something moisture in there, Yeah, that's
what it is. Are y'all getting attacked by lady bugs?

Speaker 2 (49:30):
Saying no, I.

Speaker 1 (49:31):
Had to get a p S out there, the the
pest control guy, and and he was like, I got this.
I said, we're so overwhelmed with lady bugs. Like something's
got to be done, and uh, and they actually had
a treatment for Oh, and there's still a few around.
But he got rid of the swarm, and we had
a swarm. Yeah, I'll tell you what's funny. For some reason,

(49:53):
said my grandson, Elis the oldest. He filmed the ladybugs
and sent it to us. But he only wanted Ley.

Speaker 2 (50:00):
To look at it. You know, you couldn't look at it.
Only some reason you want to kill it. I get,
he said.

Speaker 1 (50:06):
For some reason he wanted her to look at you
weren't allowed. She had to film some lighting bugs at
our house and send them back. Then lightning bugs woul
lady lady bug. Yeah, there was a little bit of
lady bug drama at the house. I got lady is
this code snap going to get rid of them. There
was some kind that they're migrating from somewhere.

Speaker 2 (50:23):
This every year. This happens every year, so it's not
this year though.

Speaker 8 (50:27):
But JC opened one of his suitcases from Japan and
he was going to show us a couple of ties
that he got or whatever, and a ladybug comes out
Japanese and we'd like, he's brought the ladybug? Did the
lady bug get in there? And what's the situation, or
did you bring a lady back, a bug back from
Japan and bring something back?

Speaker 2 (50:48):
And he's like, I don't know.

Speaker 9 (50:50):
We tell invasive, invasive Japanese lady.

Speaker 8 (50:55):
But the lady bug get in there after he opened it,
because it wasn't the media, it was after he was
sticking this like, wait a minute, so we're not sure
he might have brought.

Speaker 2 (51:03):
Sway home Alabama. I don't know about the reckon the wrong.
We got ladybugs swarms everywhere, yeah, yeah, we always had.

Speaker 9 (51:09):
So Ruby is a fan of them, and so is
my wife. Then and so we got in the kitchen
there's a ladybug flying around.

Speaker 5 (51:20):
So my wife and.

Speaker 9 (51:21):
I are like trying to like shoe, oh, shoe it
to the to the door to get it out of
the kitchen. And we're like it's okay, shoe, you know,
and we're like shoeing it or whatever. And it lands
on the door frame and it's a fly. It's not
even a lady bug being all nice and coddling a disgusting,

(51:41):
buzzing Flyably.

Speaker 2 (51:45):
I don't know why you're talking to fly. Perhaps you'll die.

Speaker 5 (51:48):
And then he then he lands. I'm like, wait a second,
that's the fly fly posture.

Speaker 2 (51:55):
You getting fly.

Speaker 1 (51:57):
So apparently back off the lady bugs and back to
the shower, or just reminded me of that, because that
light for.

Speaker 2 (52:03):
The lady bugs right now? The the you know what
I mean?

Speaker 6 (52:05):
You look?

Speaker 2 (52:06):
You ever look at those who see bugs in there?

Speaker 6 (52:08):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (52:08):
So you got an issue, right, I know, fix it.
I'm as soon as I fix the fence. If you
even have a ladder to get on. Of course I
have a ladder. You think Handy Rick didn't have a ladder,
you know.

Speaker 1 (52:22):
So they're saying that we would be better off because
light powerfully influences the brain. And uh, they're saying that
bright light and blue light tells the body to wake
up by raising you know, the melatonin and also lowering
it as well. So when the lights go out are
no lights while you're taking a shower, your body begins

(52:44):
the natural descent and to rest.

Speaker 2 (52:46):
And repair mode.

Speaker 1 (52:47):
Well, that wouldn't work for us to take a shower before,
but at night it would.

Speaker 2 (52:52):
I really don't need any help at night. How often?
How often do y'all hit a shower before bed every night?
Every night?

Speaker 5 (52:59):
Usually?

Speaker 2 (53:00):
And then the shower at night is to get clean
the shower in the mornings to wake up. Yeah, got it,
got it.

Speaker 1 (53:06):
And I would shower at night and not shower in
the morning, but I, like you said, I got to
have that wake up.

Speaker 2 (53:11):
Yeah. So yeah, do you ever feel like stick your head?
You feel right now?

Speaker 1 (53:16):
It's cold in Alabama, so we won't be sweating. Do
you think have you ever thought I'm clean enough? I
don't think I need that night?

Speaker 2 (53:24):
She could shower. You ain't done anything physical out there bumping? Yeah, yeah,
I just like to have a shower. Sleep better. But
you're right there. Days if I'm not sweaty or something.

Speaker 1 (53:35):
Well they're saying, if you really want to sweet sleep better,
turn the lights off while you're showering.

Speaker 2 (53:39):
But something about that feels weird.

Speaker 1 (53:41):
Well, I'll pass out in the shower, right, I'll fall
asleep because we're sleepy anyway.

Speaker 2 (53:45):
Oh yeah, you know, we double up. I'm out by
the way at night.

Speaker 1 (53:48):
I think the four of us as a team of
the sleepiest four people on earth. Yeah, that's a fact
when you're when you're fighting to stay awake till seven.
If there was a sleep if there was a sleepy
team and we showed, everybody said, oh we got no chance,
got sleepy that this is for the sleepers people on
the planet. Hey almost, Uh so Friday night'll be sleeping night.

Speaker 2 (54:09):
JC.

Speaker 8 (54:09):
We were supposed to land at nine fifteen pm local time,
so we were gonna head on out to mobile parking
and he was going to text when he was grabbing
his bags.

Speaker 2 (54:17):
And you couldn't believe he was on time. You couldn't
believe no.

Speaker 8 (54:20):
But I was fighting to stay away back to what
y'all were saying Friday night. And I'm like shaking my head,
trying to stay awake, just to you know, to get him.

Speaker 2 (54:29):
Almost want take a nap, So I wake up, go
get you think? Got it? Almost?

Speaker 6 (54:32):
Not all?

Speaker 2 (54:32):
Let me get a quick power Now?

Speaker 6 (54:34):
What about?

Speaker 1 (54:34):
What about when I sat down in front of the
brush arbor and all of a sudden, my brother in
law decides to have a fire right there and I'm
sitting down. I still got to get him speaking. I'm
sitting there in this dark not fires crackling, and it's
a Friday.

Speaker 2 (54:46):
You think I would go off? I tell you the
band Joe Savy, you got me ready and woke you
right up. If he stayed on that coasty guitar i'd
probably go down.

Speaker 1 (54:57):
Yeah, so anyway, sadness by the band the ball game,
I would have fell asleep.

Speaker 2 (55:01):
Yeah, you sat by the band.

Speaker 1 (55:02):
I didn't mean to nothing in the nothing against them,
but they're louder in the game.

Speaker 2 (55:07):
Yeah, it's tough to say. And band parents are odd.
I'm sorry. You know that's it's a different crowd. There's
a lot of band parents that listen.

Speaker 1 (55:18):
Every band parent will admit that it's a different crowd.

Speaker 2 (55:23):
Yeah, m yep.

Speaker 8 (55:27):
And then you have some that you meet that are like, yeah,
I'm here for the band because my son or daughters
on the band, but I really love football.

Speaker 1 (55:34):
My daughter was a Battleina at Jesu and I go
to all those games.

Speaker 7 (55:37):
Yes, is the Rick Burger's Show.

Speaker 2 (55:46):
Yeah, I saw that somebody from text Nation. I actually
saw a story about that. They said, the the lady
bugs that we have in Sweet Home, Alabama, they're actually
Asian lady bugs migrating and they will pinch or kind
of bite at you a little bit via too many
AMMONI now that I saw a story about that. So
oh yeah, they look innocent, but they're not uh so

(56:07):
uh so, but I mean not anything major, but it
can just be a little annoying. I thought there were
things that are I thought there were things that we
all knew everybody, I mean that we all just as
a society.

Speaker 1 (56:24):
We said, yes, we've all agreed on these things, and
one of them is certain public restroom etiquette that we've
covered acknowledge on the show. I don't understand that did
did who didn't get this memo? So unfortunately you're not
going into detail.

Speaker 2 (56:44):
No, I'm eating right now. Nothing to worry about that.

Speaker 1 (56:47):
It's real simple, and I will move on to the
next topic. Okay, If you if you are going into
a public restroom and there are multiple stalls, these are
the closed door sitting down situation, and you walk in
and the last stall is occupied and the other in

(57:10):
our case three are available, you do not go down
and sit next to the person.

Speaker 2 (57:17):
No, skip one. You skip one. Same thing with you
ur You can go to the middle. You ain't got
to go to the end. You ain't got to because
now and then you could be by the urinal. You
don't have to go on the one on the other.

Speaker 1 (57:26):
But if buddy up beside somebody, if somebody don't if
somebody is down on the far end and there are
three available stalls. You don't come in and take a
seat next to the only occupied stall, leaving the other
two first to vacant. You just get in that second stall.

(57:46):
The correct would take the middle one.

Speaker 2 (57:48):
That's correct. If you're not going to do that, you're
gonna have to take the urinal one. That's what which
is a tough one. It is a tough one. Do win?
Distance is available? Are you the least used? Is that
first one? But instead out the same people and there's
here he was in there first one, no matter what,
right I think he's going, Hey, this is the cleanest one.
I don't know, it's the closest one. I think weird

(58:11):
to be able to hear people up next to him
urinating why he's on the commotion.

Speaker 9 (58:14):
I think I give people a little hey, check out
my foot under the stall, if you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (58:19):
But you don't go down, and that's a bad time.
Remember that guy got in trouble for that.

Speaker 1 (58:23):
We have four talking about we have four stalls. If
somebody's in four and one two three are available.

Speaker 2 (58:30):
You go to stall two. You do not go to
stall three. That's that's just common. Had somebody just sit
down right beside me. Golly, they butted up like you know,
like we both you know you do? You have to
mix a little water with us.

Speaker 1 (58:44):
We're going to the movie together, I guess by jail
both are near touching stuff for that wall.

Speaker 2 (58:49):
Gracious, my goods our shoes shouldn't be there close together.
Your shoe is by my shoe. What are we doing? Rick?

Speaker 5 (58:55):
If you're install four, I hate to say, you may
be breaking an etiquette rule as well.

Speaker 2 (59:00):
Oh no, that's not true. You're not handicapped.

Speaker 5 (59:03):
You're not handicapped.

Speaker 2 (59:05):
But I will deserve the fact that shows up. I'll move.

Speaker 1 (59:09):
The handy stall is the best stall unless there's a
handicapped person, then you can't use it. So you're saying
if you hear, if I hear wheels, you see if
I see her hear wheels, Yes, I will say what
if you heard?

Speaker 2 (59:24):
I'm out, time out. I'm fifty nine years old. I've
never seen anybody using them. I have any cat I
never have. I never saw him somebody you need it.

Speaker 6 (59:33):
I have not.

Speaker 9 (59:34):
You've never seen a wheel You've never seen a wheelchair
in a bathroom.

Speaker 2 (59:37):
I've never been in a bathroom and a wheelchair coming
in and it doesn't happen and need it. I'm just
saying I haven't done that and it happened. He's not
very observed.

Speaker 1 (59:45):
I'm just saying it's never happened with me, or it
might be somebody with a walker. I think the walker
people on their own, well they got this that handling there,
they sit down and well.

Speaker 5 (59:53):
That's true, that's what that's what the bar is for.

Speaker 6 (59:56):
There's a bar.

Speaker 1 (59:57):
A walker is not complete to me, I think. I
think the handy stick walk they can walk. To me,
the handy stall is for wheelchair wheelchair only. Yeah, and
I scope the area before I go in there and
see for anybody that you scope the area, do you
walk around with you walk around.

Speaker 9 (01:00:17):
That?

Speaker 5 (01:00:17):
With parking spots z odds.

Speaker 1 (01:00:19):
No, you can't do a parking spot because more people
are handicap who park and everybody has a handicap. Uh
sticker Now apparently they don't have a sticker on the
store the whole world.

Speaker 2 (01:00:29):
No what what I just assumed.

Speaker 1 (01:00:31):
What I'm saying is especially the time, extra the time
of day, because you do know that once the other
office people get here, even if I have to use
a stall, I can't.

Speaker 2 (01:00:41):
It's too much action, too much talking to But.

Speaker 1 (01:00:43):
When it when it is the middle of the night
and where it worked, and there's no one at the
office but us, The odds of a handicapped person needing
that star zero?

Speaker 2 (01:00:52):
What is did he wonder? Did he wonder? In out
of the parking lot.

Speaker 1 (01:00:55):
I was on my way to go see my family,
and I'm handicapped, and I I have a wheelchair, and
I stopped at a random office building and now I'm
wheeling myself in to use the handicapped stall in this
office building.

Speaker 2 (01:01:07):
I'm sorry. The odds of that are not high. Could
be they're just meetings.

Speaker 1 (01:01:12):
The meetings too, not before, not before everybody opens for
the day. The odds are minuscule. If I hear the
squeaking of wheels, I'll get up.

Speaker 2 (01:01:23):
I want to want to hang on. This is yours.
Let me get out of here. And I would say,
the seats warm, You'll be thankful now we do you
heard that? Of course, then the person would tell me
why do they talk like that? Why don't know? You
think that's how handicap people talking about? I just I
have them as a little elderly wow question. I've seen

(01:01:43):
young people in wheelchairs.

Speaker 9 (01:01:46):
Handicapped people closed handicapped people. I gotta make question. Are
handicapped people making an effort to avoid bathrooms for two reasons?
Because they got their wheels, they're pushing their wheels. They
don't want to get their wheels on a bathroom.

Speaker 2 (01:02:02):
I wouldn't. I wouldn't want to.

Speaker 5 (01:02:05):
So do they know that they're they're like they're planning
for that throughout their.

Speaker 2 (01:02:07):
Day glob too.

Speaker 9 (01:02:10):
Because the people like y'all, they never have a handicap store.
That's when I never They don't show their face around there.
Because of people like y'all.

Speaker 2 (01:02:18):
I will yield to someone who needs.

Speaker 6 (01:02:23):
To get up.

Speaker 2 (01:02:23):
Hold on, not finished, but I'm gonna get up. You start,
I'll get up. I'll get up.

Speaker 5 (01:02:28):
Let me just finish up here ahead.

Speaker 6 (01:02:30):
No no no, no no no.

Speaker 5 (01:02:39):
The text filling up. You can't push it yet, but
you will be able to soon.

Speaker 2 (01:02:42):
No, Greg, we all know what you do. You do
one final push, you flush, you get out of there.
Will you help me? See that I hear who asked you?
They don't help They don't you help me? If you're
in there, they wouldn't help it.

Speaker 5 (01:02:55):
I'll tell you that the two you would though you
would offer to help and then be like, no, man.

Speaker 2 (01:03:01):
Be someone who doesn't won't have.

Speaker 1 (01:03:05):
I've never seen that stall be used by anybody other
than people like me who need the room.

Speaker 9 (01:03:10):
Okay, buddy, I don't know if I've seen Honestly, if
I've seen tires in a bathroom, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (01:03:16):
Have I seen wheels.

Speaker 5 (01:03:17):
I'm trying to think, have I seen.

Speaker 2 (01:03:19):
Wheels in a bathroom? It doesn't happen a lot.

Speaker 5 (01:03:21):
Maybe at the airport, but that's it.

Speaker 2 (01:03:23):
I think, Yeah, it doesn't happen a lot. And you
know that's why.

Speaker 1 (01:03:26):
That's why a lot of times you see gloves, if
it's not a glove, if it's not an automatic wheelchair,
if they're having to use the hands, yeah, because they're
picking up.

Speaker 8 (01:03:35):
Made a great point. It's handicap accessible. It's not just
handicap only.

Speaker 2 (01:03:39):
Good point. That's well said.

Speaker 5 (01:03:42):
That same with the parking spot.

Speaker 2 (01:03:46):
Apples and oranges.

Speaker 5 (01:03:47):
Why don't you in their chair while they're apples and oranges?
Your legs tired? Get a wheels.

Speaker 1 (01:03:53):
By the way, I'm the one that's trying to get
tense removed for handicapped people for football games and.

Speaker 2 (01:03:59):
Football games, so you know you're doing your part that department.
I am an advocate for that community. And it's handicap
accessible or not only parking either. You never went up
a ramp outside of building.

Speaker 5 (01:04:17):
The steps are for you.

Speaker 2 (01:04:18):
The ramp is not for you.

Speaker 5 (01:04:20):
Okay, they didn't build that ramp for you.

Speaker 2 (01:04:22):
For handicap people.

Speaker 5 (01:04:23):
But about to see wheels through the crack in the door,
that's what it takes.

Speaker 7 (01:04:27):
Yes, is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (01:04:35):
Here pretty soon too, including the first ever Rick Burgess
Show Best of c D, which you were We already
have that Black Friday.

Speaker 2 (01:04:45):
Oh yeah, so we'll we'll talk about that, right, yeah,
I call this week probably, yeah, maybe early next Really
you think I don't know?

Speaker 6 (01:04:53):
Step out? Uh?

Speaker 1 (01:04:58):
Anybody out there happened to be paying attention when had
the Ozmpic guy pass out in an Oval office?

Speaker 6 (01:05:06):
I saw that.

Speaker 2 (01:05:07):
Well, my dad gave me a breakdown and he couldn't
even see it and he said, wow, he just he said, hey,
the play by play of that, right?

Speaker 6 (01:05:14):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (01:05:15):
Well you may be thinking to yourself, I'm happy for
the people that this has worked for, and maybe there's
no issue, but it can be very expensive.

Speaker 2 (01:05:23):
I know they're trying to work on that too.

Speaker 1 (01:05:24):
But there's a there's a there's a way that you
could go about this that is all natural from our
friends at Brickhouse Nutrition. It's called takelean dot com. You
know you might have been like me, Wait, cycling, I
need to.

Speaker 2 (01:05:40):
Lose a little weight.

Speaker 1 (01:05:40):
I do some fad diet, I drop it off and
I go then what a strange concept. I go back
to the way I was living before, and hey, it
came right back on. By the way, not good for
the body, increases your chance of stroke, heide attack, you know,
type two diabetes. So tate lean dot com is natural.
It's all natural and these are botanicals that also help

(01:06:03):
to suppress the appetite, to give you some energy to yeah,
get the body burning fat, keep you at a healthy
blood sugar.

Speaker 2 (01:06:11):
It is.

Speaker 1 (01:06:11):
It is a more natural, healthier, sustainable way to do it.
So go to take lean dot com.

Speaker 2 (01:06:18):
Talk to a guy.

Speaker 1 (01:06:19):
We had a guy, what was it Friday? Yeah, it
was Friday from Ocilla, Georgia. So he's lost fifty pounds
on tate lane.

Speaker 2 (01:06:25):
Oh yeah, you look great. We'll sell it and healthy.

Speaker 1 (01:06:29):
So take lean dot com twenty percent off using the
code big Vox. Take Lian dot com. Also a link
at Rick Burgess show dot com under the sponsors button.
So Greg, not far from your home, buddy, not far
one valley, not far from your rally, that's right, went
to another valley, that's right. I came and didn't take

(01:06:51):
you fifteen minutes home of the valley Cubs Alexandria, Alabama,
located where the county that Greg and I grew up
in Calhoun County. There many times, been there many times.
Calhoun County has done a lot for the country. It's
you know, we got our own culture, we got our
own way.

Speaker 2 (01:07:08):
So going back home tough.

Speaker 1 (01:07:11):
Especially if you're going back home to preach a lot
of people. Remember before Jesus, even Jesus didn't farewell when
he went home. So I was contacted by Keith Mitchell,
old friend, was part of the Rick and Bubba Show.
Keith was We played on our softball team. All that
I hadn't seen each other in almost thirty years. He said, Hey,

(01:07:33):
we're doing man Church at Mount Zion, my church. Is
there any chance we could have a man church event
to get more men into the curriculum.

Speaker 2 (01:07:43):
Could you come? Just give me a date. So I
looked at the calendar, We.

Speaker 1 (01:07:47):
Landed on November the ninth, and they did a great
job there, Pastor Jeff Knight in the Gang.

Speaker 2 (01:07:55):
They had that sold out.

Speaker 1 (01:07:57):
Twenty three different churches in the area represented that it
holds five hundred. They had a hard five hundred and
had it done early. They had it completely sold out
and I had not even mentioned it on the show yet.
So chili, yeah, they got Have you ever seen that
much chili?

Speaker 2 (01:08:13):
That's a lot of chili. Well surprised the number of
women that were working the event.

Speaker 1 (01:08:16):
You know, anytime the women come to a man church event,
I have to cancel all my Adam and Eve jokes.

Speaker 2 (01:08:21):
Yeah I know, and because you don't know if they're
if they can hear us.

Speaker 1 (01:08:25):
But but anyway, so yes, I had a quarter zip on,
all right, so with a shirt under it, so speedy
you be, you'll be proud.

Speaker 2 (01:08:35):
So so anyway, I'm almost in that picture. I was, right,
So you and Cake.

Speaker 1 (01:08:40):
So Greg's starting to stay up there. Greg's like, what
time you're gonna be over here? So Cherry went to
see Keith's wife, Millie Mitchell. So she went with me,
but they stayed at the house by the way. She
made her famous poppy seed cake.

Speaker 2 (01:08:51):
I need to bring in. Got it at the house.
I bring it in tomorrow. Bringing on.

Speaker 1 (01:08:54):
So Greg's like, what time you're gonna be over here?
Greg said, he's coming, and so you hear it. You
kind of hand me a little bit.

Speaker 2 (01:09:01):
Well, I didn't have a ticket, Okay, all right, So
anyway you see what I'm saying. That was the only
reason I adn care. That's right? Are you hearing yet?
You didn't take this? There was like three thirty rational
if I was there yet? No, it was, But anyway,
so it was ten. He was running late, so we
so we got there a little before four. Of the
cake's out in the parking lot. Couldn't get in. He
pulled up right before Rick. So I think it's just Greg.

Speaker 1 (01:09:23):
I haven't I haven't heard anything about cakes, and so
I Grace, I worry were here. I'm walking toward the door, Gray,
I'll meet you the door. All of a sudden I
look across the parking lot. There's baby brother and then
beside him is.

Speaker 2 (01:09:33):
The large Gerald cage brought more broad than ever.

Speaker 1 (01:09:38):
Yeah, I mean I mean like he shaped large is
what they're Oh yeah, I mean he's as big as
he's ever been. I'm talking about like like farm boy
big yeah, yeah, and uh working out that fire.

Speaker 2 (01:09:49):
Ray got over here, get you a little bait brother
right here. I'm coming on in here. We're gonna have
some chili, you know. And I'm like, here we go,
Here we go, hat chili. Make it joke for noise,
and so uh and uh and so I'm like, here
we go. And so he and Case decide to sit
in the balcony, which made me. We got in there
and it was crowded. We had to go up. We
were forced.

Speaker 5 (01:10:10):
So anyway, no y'all wanted to mess around in the balcony,
that too, clearly.

Speaker 1 (01:10:14):
So when you go back home, it's like you try
to picture all these guys you ran around with, and
you know that they're now putting on something at church.
And so I get this picture of the of the
podium or not the podium that we learn not to
use that right, the electern that was on the stage,
you know, like the pullpit kind of thing. It's one

(01:10:36):
of those you move around and and it has the logo.

Speaker 2 (01:10:40):
The face on it.

Speaker 1 (01:10:41):
And don't forget, coming in in front of the building,
you had the face out there everywhere. I thought that
was just somebody putting photo shop on that. It really
wasn't only And when I get.

Speaker 2 (01:10:51):
There, it's on there, and I look at everybody. I said,
does everybody feel good about this? I don't think you
should have have that up there on the lectern.

Speaker 5 (01:10:58):
Sometimes it's across. Sometimes it's ricks.

Speaker 2 (01:11:02):
Glasses and beard. Yeah, and look and so the guy
who did it, the artist Face Entertainment, look at that.
I've got it. He gave it to me and uh
And there were several others there and they had others
on the wall, and I'm like, I think Jerald got one?
Does Gerald have one?

Speaker 6 (01:11:17):
But uh?

Speaker 2 (01:11:18):
He won't sign that. Pretty were your faces so I
can see your body, but just your face to bring
it up up up up, up up up a little
bit a little bit, scot that's funny. So uh but
I was like, guys, do we feel good about this?
This isn't good?

Speaker 7 (01:11:39):
And uh so.

Speaker 2 (01:11:41):
Uh So I'm like, you can't even go home.

Speaker 6 (01:11:43):
You know.

Speaker 1 (01:11:44):
But we had a really really powerful Yeah, it was
right and like Greg and I said, there eating chili,
talking to people we hadn't seen. Oh yeah, since we're good. Yeah,
and uh and you know, and then you get into
all this thing. There's so much keep up with you
know now, No, I didn't go to school, but my
sister did you.

Speaker 2 (01:11:59):
Know, or my my brother you when you rather at
that age. We know each other, but we don't know
the details. A lot of everybody I played for your dady, memory,
I played for you daddy went nineteen seventy five. Well
okay that yeah, my sister's still mad at you. Right.

Speaker 5 (01:12:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:12:12):
By the way, there was one of those I got
an uncomfortable you might know my sister and I said, no,
probably not. Oh yeah, yeah, you're actually okay, Sindy or something.
But no, I'm just talking about, like, you know, in
going to school his friends.

Speaker 2 (01:12:30):
Yeah, no, no, I just I didn't run across it. No, No,
that was anything uncomfortable. No, it was nothing like that. Sweet,
that's the issue you have when you got it. We
don't know.

Speaker 6 (01:12:40):
We don't have that.

Speaker 2 (01:12:41):
My problem is, Yeah, my problem is like, was I
was I mean to them that I prank them?

Speaker 6 (01:12:47):
Fully? Did I get up?

Speaker 2 (01:12:48):
No? I wasn't a booky to go to their party,
eat other food and leave.

Speaker 6 (01:12:51):
Things like that.

Speaker 2 (01:12:51):
Well not that's accurate. That didn't happen. We'll come back
unscreened phone calls coming up all the way back from
seventeen seventy five today. Thank you to.

Speaker 1 (01:13:07):
Marines everywhere, past present, and those of you that hopefully
are going to be future marines.

Speaker 2 (01:13:14):
All right, to the.

Speaker 1 (01:13:15):
Phones, we go, unscreened phone calls. Hello, you're on the
Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (01:13:19):
Go right ahead, riddle me this Rick.

Speaker 6 (01:13:22):
What happens if you're gon go into stall number two
and there's a lot of do do everywhere?

Speaker 1 (01:13:26):
All right, come on, man, you need to flee Rick
Burgess Show. Unscreen phone calls, Go.

Speaker 2 (01:13:32):
Ahead, they speedy.

Speaker 12 (01:13:34):
Have you done any timber tugging this year yet?

Speaker 3 (01:13:37):
An? What?

Speaker 2 (01:13:39):
What timber clearing?

Speaker 6 (01:13:41):
I think.

Speaker 5 (01:13:44):
The fact he was in a weird mon I did I.

Speaker 2 (01:13:45):
Did this weekend? Yeah, there are trails.

Speaker 6 (01:13:50):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:13:50):
I don't know. That's a good question. Yeah, we actually
did work on some trails this past weekend. Yeah, me too.
I had a fancy knockout. Wow, the acorns are dropping
in the hardwood. Yes they are. I mean where'd you show?
Stream phone calls? Go ahead? Uh?

Speaker 13 (01:14:09):
Yeah, y'all are having a discussion about handicap stalls. I've
been in a wheelchair for forty four plus years. And
I wanted to see if y'all needed a little information.
You might even need a reasonable resident expert handicap experts.

Speaker 2 (01:14:25):
So how many times do you roll into a public
bathroom in need of one? Oh?

Speaker 13 (01:14:31):
Uh, pretty pretty regular. There's a couple of things y'all
may not be considering, and that is the especially if
the airport is a no no. Under any circumstance, you
could never use a handicap wheelchair. Oh yeah, you've been

(01:14:53):
on an airplane. You have been on airplane and you're
coming off and you.

Speaker 6 (01:14:57):
Really really got to go.

Speaker 13 (01:14:58):
Oh yes, uh, I have somebody in a wheelchair. They
can't really process holding that very long. And some people,
you know, have catheters, and if a catheter, if you
don't catheterize when you really need to, you can wind
up stroking out.

Speaker 2 (01:15:15):
Not good, So you make yourself so bad for us.
There's a high no. I asked if someone will need it,
so stay away from I get that. Yeah I don't.

Speaker 1 (01:15:23):
Of course I try not to go in, and you
probably the same way in an airport bathroom if I
can avoid it. But yeah, see that would defeat the
purpose because I know the odds are high that it
needs to be accessible, but in an office building, you know,
at say five point thirty in the morning, I don't
really think that I'm putting anyone at risk.

Speaker 2 (01:15:42):
The odds are almost zero.

Speaker 13 (01:15:45):
Right the circumstance you mentioned, I wouldn't have a problem
with I don't I say I'm a reasonable handicapped person
because I don't. I don't mind people using the handicap stall.
But the thing you'd never know is, like I said,
and then emergency situations. You know, the situation like speed,
he's on the highway, he's really got to go.

Speaker 1 (01:16:07):
So you're saying I couldn't get up in time. Do
the semi squad flesh it clear out here?

Speaker 13 (01:16:12):
You go, man, most people like me are never going
to ask you to. And my wheelchair is so quiet
you're never going to hear any squeaking whill.

Speaker 2 (01:16:23):
But I look for those wheels. I look for those wheels.

Speaker 1 (01:16:26):
But no, you're right, I think you have to think
through and no airport is a no Gore's I see
that there's there's loads of people that need to use
them in airports.

Speaker 2 (01:16:36):
So I would never do that.

Speaker 13 (01:16:37):
But where I go to church, my church has a
really nice handicapped accessible bathroom, really nice stall. It's really nice.
And when I go in there, there's you know, there's
like four stalls and sometimes you know, transitioning from one service.
We have three services and sometimes they're full. That doesn't matter.
I just sit there and wait till somebody's through.

Speaker 6 (01:16:58):
I'm not gonna You know.

Speaker 2 (01:17:00):
You don't be afraid to be aggressed.

Speaker 13 (01:17:01):
With people that are a little you know, they're a
little aggressive.

Speaker 2 (01:17:04):
Yeah, well that's all, you know. I understand though, I do.

Speaker 1 (01:17:07):
I know how frustrating it is because you know, like
we say all the all the time, you know, going
through and knowing people that have been in your situation. Uh,
you know, nothing's easy and you know everything's a lot
more complicated. And so thank you for having such a
good attitude when it would be easy not to. And
thanks for clarification on that as well, and thanks for

(01:17:28):
listening to the show. Rick Birger's show unscreen phone calls.

Speaker 6 (01:17:31):
Go ahead, Hey, Rick, top of the morning to you.

Speaker 2 (01:17:35):
Thank you man, you too.

Speaker 6 (01:17:37):
You're talking about your wife.

Speaker 13 (01:17:39):
Driving for you, right, correct, Well, I my family doesn't
like to arrive with me because I say, I fall
asleep when I drive.

Speaker 6 (01:17:48):
That's what I do?

Speaker 13 (01:17:49):
You do?

Speaker 6 (01:17:49):
I sleep and let I sleep and let them drive.

Speaker 2 (01:17:52):
Amen, that switzero. You're done. I tell you what, I
tell you how. I won't happen. I just won't drive.
I just y'all need me. I'm we're asleep, Rick Bird,
your show on screen phone calls go.

Speaker 12 (01:18:05):
Hey, I just uh get morning first.

Speaker 6 (01:18:07):
I think, thank you? Give come.

Speaker 5 (01:18:10):
That's three all right?

Speaker 12 (01:18:12):
Oh well, I am uh calling about this news that
there's gonna be this tariff money sparing out, sending two
thousand dollars to everybody. A horrible idea, Yes, the terrible idea.
Please campaign against this. Any kind of government has tried

(01:18:33):
to send us money. It has cost me way more.

Speaker 2 (01:18:38):
Nothing's free. I mean you're going thank you, Greg.

Speaker 6 (01:18:41):
You know that.

Speaker 2 (01:18:42):
I don't know how you're stealing. I really don't, but
thank you for that speed. It looks too good to
be true. It is now you were He's one hundred
percent right on, and you need to spead it. You
can go sit in your office for Yeah. Wait, I'm
afraid of.

Speaker 3 (01:18:58):
You.

Speaker 5 (01:18:59):
The guys handicaff bathroom.

Speaker 2 (01:19:00):
Yeah you dude, the man who said they had a
really good bathroom. I did. You're gonna have to get
put in an unscreen phone all time out. It's great.
I get it. Sometimes you uncontrollable. I think that's what
it was.

Speaker 9 (01:19:11):
It was.

Speaker 2 (01:19:12):
I think in that case, I think I could have
held there's the obvious.

Speaker 1 (01:19:16):
I keep hearing no money about our deficit, and we're
in debt and nobody's got money, and we ain't got this.

Speaker 2 (01:19:23):
We ain't got that.

Speaker 1 (01:19:24):
I don't care how much revenue we're getting off terrafs.
If we got two thousand dollars lying around, we send
everybody think So I think we're broke, are we?

Speaker 2 (01:19:32):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (01:19:32):
I just that's just that's just his way of saying, Hey,
they're bringing in money, they're working, and I got you.

Speaker 2 (01:19:38):
It's a hard thing.

Speaker 6 (01:19:39):
I got you.

Speaker 2 (01:19:41):
But if they send it, I'll take Rick Burgess show
on screenphone. I'm it back.

Speaker 6 (01:19:47):
I tell you that. Good morning, gentlemen.

Speaker 2 (01:19:50):
Did y'all see the Fox News headline over the weekend
that the acclaims comedian and actors Sindbad has now finaled
for bankruptcy for the third time. He's got bad health
issues too.

Speaker 8 (01:20:02):
Yeah, that may be why I saw where were Also
Trump was pardoning a bunch of folks and he parted
pardoned Darryl Strawberry.

Speaker 2 (01:20:10):
What was what was? What was drugs?

Speaker 6 (01:20:12):
Drugs?

Speaker 2 (01:20:14):
I don't know, as you know, I think it was did.

Speaker 1 (01:20:17):
You see.

Speaker 2 (01:20:19):
Me for the food? He really? Finally, that's Rick Birders
showing string phone calls. Go ahead.

Speaker 13 (01:20:27):
I think y'all need to explain to Adler what urinals are.
He said, he's never seen them in the bathroom.

Speaker 6 (01:20:34):
Said he goes in.

Speaker 2 (01:20:37):
That's good.

Speaker 9 (01:20:39):
I've never seen wheels. I've never seen wheels in the bathroom.
I see urinals because they're in the bathroom that I
can use.

Speaker 6 (01:20:46):
Buddy.

Speaker 9 (01:20:47):
Now, I do have this long hair that if I'm
in a pinch and I can go to another I
can go to the ladies restroom real easy.

Speaker 5 (01:20:54):
The okay, so darre Strawberry was it was tax evasion.

Speaker 2 (01:20:59):
I just saw the head the notification.

Speaker 6 (01:21:00):
Like what he do?

Speaker 1 (01:21:01):
I know he he goes around addicts and stuff. Did
you know so speedy when he did what he shouldn't done?
He even did the face with it?

Speaker 2 (01:21:09):
Oh yeah, it comes with it about it? He transformed
into it. I was on control pretty much. Did you
see what happened? In fact, I'm kind of worried. I
think he's a shape shifter.

Speaker 6 (01:21:19):
That sound good?

Speaker 2 (01:21:21):
Rick Birders Show, unscreen phone calls, Go ahead, Hey morning, Rick, anybody.

Speaker 6 (01:21:26):
Hey y'all.

Speaker 13 (01:21:27):
Last week when you'all talking about the Chinese afternauts got
me thinking about it.

Speaker 2 (01:21:31):
What's the g force going to do to them?

Speaker 6 (01:21:33):
And they take off to their.

Speaker 2 (01:21:38):
Don't laugh about and makes a point. Okay, Greg, I'm
just saying that's something you're going to deal with. I
gotta get new friends. Rick Birders Show, unscreen phone calls,
Go ahead, Hey, where does it say that Sinbad did that?

Speaker 13 (01:21:54):
I can't find any information on that.

Speaker 2 (01:21:56):
Yeah, I haven't either. Somebody just throw something. I mean somebody,
I I do know he's having health problems. Yeah, we're great. Good,
that's not what the call was about. Yeahdirectly, I know
you were keeping up with Simbad's medical condition. When did
you become with a movie?

Speaker 1 (01:22:10):
And they gave him a little part in it and
he played like a handicapped guy sit in the front yard,
very small?

Speaker 2 (01:22:15):
Okay, doctor Oz, what show was it? All? Right?

Speaker 5 (01:22:18):
So he's he has filed in two thousand and nine
and twenty thirteen due to tax debts. So I guess
he needs a pardon like Daryl Strawberry.

Speaker 1 (01:22:26):
Well, somebody said he's done it again though. That's that's
what the guy has called about that he's now fied
for a third time and we can't find anything.

Speaker 2 (01:22:32):
But he's one of my favorite guests we've had in
the studio.

Speaker 8 (01:22:35):
Taking to doctor Oz, he brought down the incident where
the Zimpic Sea. He said, r K Junior didn't run off, Okay,
he looked like he was going to get and he
said that he was over in the corner of the
Oval office on the phone and President Trump was like,
who you talking to?

Speaker 2 (01:22:52):
And it was the guy's wife ensuring her that he
was okay. Is he okay?

Speaker 6 (01:22:57):
And uh?

Speaker 2 (01:22:57):
And Trump grabbed the phone and talked to her and
okay and apparently, so what was wrong at that point?
All right? You know you see these folks when they
stand for a long time, then you get locked the
he locked his knees out. Yeah, oh you can't. Yeah,
it was just he was like the he went down,
Go ahead again, go ahead and show us that too. Yeah,
made fun of that again. I was calling him. But

(01:23:21):
he was just standing there.

Speaker 9 (01:23:22):
He's looking at nothing.

Speaker 2 (01:23:27):
Yeah, okay.

Speaker 6 (01:23:28):
Man.

Speaker 2 (01:23:29):
Doctors went over there and got him. Think he's a.

Speaker 7 (01:23:31):
Doctor about he was the Rick Burgess show.

Speaker 2 (01:23:43):
We all know he's going to be fired up, right Yep, yep, yep.

Speaker 6 (01:23:47):
He wrote that there he is right there, cried and
we wrote that.

Speaker 1 (01:23:56):
Oh my goodness, boy, he's really talking to different team.
Once we got rolling hand, I mean.

Speaker 6 (01:24:02):
Now we're ranked number four. I wonder everybody feels doubted Bama.
Didn't nobody saying we could do it.

Speaker 2 (01:24:09):
Nobody had a chance after week one.

Speaker 6 (01:24:12):
I never do really, nobody believes in Bama. Everybody always
underestimates us, and everybody picking L s U to gonna
rise up. We gonna get behind a new guy. We
got rid of broun Carry. Now we got a little
inde room coming in and he's gonna inspire the boys
to go out there and be Bama. Not at Brighten
any stadium. No, you never worried. I never worried. Uh.

(01:24:39):
The thing I was worried about is we'd be overlooking
l s Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:24:43):
That's true.

Speaker 6 (01:24:44):
I worried about that. But to Bore an outstanding job
had had us ready to play. We played good enough.
We didn't show too much.

Speaker 2 (01:24:52):
Ever since the beginning, right.

Speaker 6 (01:24:55):
Well, you know, I believed in the Moore from the
very beginning. I got on him after the Florida State debacle.
But yeah, I knew that with his fault.

Speaker 2 (01:25:01):
Right right, yeah, just never never in question he might
have dropped having on purpose just to get our body,
you know, kind of well.

Speaker 6 (01:25:08):
You're thinking like a Bama fan, now, Gregory, that's the
brands of Saban here. Every now and then we drop
one and we'd underperform just to kind of not to
show our hand. We're we're focused on the playoffs now
we we uh, we're gonna have to go revealed everybody.
Maybe in the championship game today. You him they were

(01:25:29):
old saving him and of course Bama will come in
here and give him a little spank. But then back
where they belong when we get our opportunity. The Sooners,
this is coming up this weekend. They showing said, oh
we're got a little spark, We're got a little spark,
and of course we'll we'll resolve that and that this
huge embarrassing what's happened that l Iss Hues and Saban left.

Speaker 2 (01:25:52):
TICKI I just I love every here. Uh, two thirty pm,
kick ABC, Oklahoma Sooners. As you said, okay, they come
to Tuscaloosa. That's an interesting matchup I mean, I know
you're not looking past him, that's obvious.

Speaker 6 (01:26:07):
But there what's interesting about it? Well, I mean well,
I mean watch Obama went again that interest and I
mean we enjoy it.

Speaker 2 (01:26:14):
Oklahom got a pretty good defense. Yeah, I went into
Knoxville and won.

Speaker 6 (01:26:18):
I mean, I mean went vi the sub part of
the c team.

Speaker 2 (01:26:24):
Have you seen Auburn? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (01:26:26):
Oh, well, by the way, you might seen this Dutch
coaching Auburn. Oh, dookie, DJ, dookiekin, what's up? What are
you laughing at?

Speaker 2 (01:26:38):
He looks like he's smiling all the time, even though
he's not. It looks kind of like, well.

Speaker 6 (01:26:42):
Then Phillips Phyllis kept looking at me and cheating, Dicky?
How come? How come Alburt's little interim? Little DJ Dookie?
Why is he granted all the time? And I said,
you're misinterpreted in that phil Let's that's not a grin,
it's almost a grimace. You have you ever seen somebody
get that look on the face, almost like that answer
or something. Are they holding one? And they just got

(01:27:03):
a new look on his face. And what it is is,
anytime you're coaching Alburn, your face is a grimace the
entire time. No Alburn football nearly killed these threes. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
I think I mean nearly killed the poor man.

Speaker 2 (01:27:16):
Yeah, I have to agree with you, and yeah he
bless his heart.

Speaker 6 (01:27:20):
Yeah, anybody, if you ever have to coach Alburd, you
better be in good health because they'll try to kill you.

Speaker 2 (01:27:27):
B Yeah. Yeah. So we got Oklahoma. Uh then then
then Missouri. Uh no, I'm sorry, Oklahoma's Missouri. That's on me.
Uh So we got right now, you're hosting Oklahoma two thirty.
Then you got Eastern Illinois. Then you got the Iron Bull.

Speaker 5 (01:27:42):
Oh what Iron?

Speaker 2 (01:27:43):
Yeah? So I mean I know you the next couple
of weeks.

Speaker 8 (01:27:46):
I mean, after coming off this big weekend, uh hosting
l s U, you gotta be kind of pumped.

Speaker 2 (01:27:51):
The nad in my family has to be fired up.

Speaker 6 (01:27:53):
Well, an admirer living hound the hog, how in the hog?
And we usually knew if you're I'm a fan, because
we we know we're gonna end up this year in
the playoff. Last year we got robbed, cheated because say,
if people can keep Bathma out, they're going to But
this year, we don't give ain't no reason they can't
keep Bathma out. We're gonna run the table. We're gonna

(01:28:14):
reveal ain't him as a pretender, and then we're gonna
walk into that play off probably the walking.

Speaker 2 (01:28:20):
Dogs coming together. That's what you're saying.

Speaker 6 (01:28:23):
Master plan never doubted. Nobody believed Innis. Nobody believed Innis.
Everybody in the media is against this. Nobody believes. In
his breath, try to cheat us. But but we just
overcome with Bama.

Speaker 1 (01:28:35):
Well that well, now that Urnbow, you know how that'll
be the season for Auburn. So they're gonna bring their
best game.

Speaker 6 (01:28:46):
By the time we get to the Oron Bowl. I mean,
I hate to break youst Auburn fan, because you know
I hate hurt their feelings. Where I gotta include you.
He's a young adler. Thank you of course rigged my
my daddy and my boy playing for him. Let me
they we just make this clear. By the time we
get to the Iron Boat, Albura may not even have

(01:29:06):
any players, I mean, anybody on their city. Cow is
gonna get that portal, go find somewhere else to play.

Speaker 2 (01:29:12):
Rote, I haven't heard you this confident in a long time.

Speaker 6 (01:29:19):
Well, it feels good, I said, It's great to be
for Bama. I mean, I mean as I say every week,
Rama Yama Yellowhammer. Looking at the top, there's Baba. It
wouldn't even surprise me. I might have to break his
to the office. And I think even their weird coach
DJ Nookie won't even smile about the.

Speaker 4 (01:29:37):
Name.

Speaker 6 (01:29:39):
I believed. I believe the coman kid will play for
Mama and Iron Bow. He said he come play for
us in a week or so. When you play for
Bama if you had to stay at Alburn? Now what
if you were free right now to play for Auburn
or play for Bama.

Speaker 2 (01:29:59):
He's acting me, I'd go with the Alburn.

Speaker 6 (01:30:02):
You'll go over because you played their Well why would
you go to over?

Speaker 2 (01:30:07):
Because I think they turned it around?

Speaker 6 (01:30:12):
DJ newk do only one but turn it around?

Speaker 1 (01:30:16):
Then?

Speaker 6 (01:30:17):
Did y'all feel bad for unless you a little bit?

Speaker 2 (01:30:21):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (01:30:22):
Starting quarterback out, Well, well, I'm going to pass on
the NFL. I'm the quarterback in there and issue I'm
gonna stay and come back Winchampshire. Brian Kelly guarantee the
championship on hats and Meyer. I'm gonna stick around. I'm
gonna play a little longer. How much money do you
think Hasabar is lost by staying this year.

Speaker 3 (01:30:44):
A lot.

Speaker 2 (01:30:44):
Well, I don't know what l s. Yeah, there's that
you do have that well, I.

Speaker 6 (01:30:49):
Mean unless you was paying him, but I mean his
NFL money, it's gonna be pretty How much long can
he stay? What do you think he is? The little Mexican.

Speaker 2 (01:30:54):
Bobbier year seven?

Speaker 1 (01:30:58):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (01:30:58):
Yeah, that was I mean what I mean, I mean
a popier. It's it's almost like it when something that's
going on out there. I mean, we we're letting a
little old man play college football. It's weird.

Speaker 2 (01:31:10):
He's pretty good, yes he is.

Speaker 7 (01:31:11):
He Uh what was that?

Speaker 2 (01:31:13):
Three three wins over Auburn in his career. Yeah, he
was asked that. He was asked that question and he said, uh, let.

Speaker 6 (01:31:20):
Me tell you how that Auburn is. They can't even
be poppy. When he played for Mexico, that waskay.

Speaker 2 (01:31:26):
That was New Mexico. Yeah, I didn't was It wasn't Mexico.

Speaker 6 (01:31:30):
Wasn't Mexican, buddy boy, Mexican not in the name?

Speaker 2 (01:31:34):
Yes, yeah, yeah right, you.

Speaker 6 (01:31:37):
Old middle what the age to Mexico whatever, it's Mexico Mexico.

Speaker 2 (01:31:41):
Yeah, I can't argue with I don't even.

Speaker 6 (01:31:43):
Know why we got a Mexican team in the league.
I don't go through. So did they good at soccer?

Speaker 2 (01:31:51):
Yeah? Oh no, they are good at So did you
are you holding your r V spot since I mean
you're going to be there again?

Speaker 6 (01:31:56):
This way to move? Need to move?

Speaker 2 (01:31:59):
Okay, you gonna stay there all week, celebrate.

Speaker 6 (01:32:01):
Another beach and getting ready for the Sooners to come
on in. Oh look, we're at White Obama. They don't
play Baba. Yeah, yeah, I get that's different.

Speaker 2 (01:32:10):
I don't know. I know you're living off disability, so
I guess the government shutdown. You haven't been affected by that.

Speaker 6 (01:32:16):
I hadn't been affected by that. I still get my
check and I'd love to be out there working, but
you know, with the injury, you just can't do it.

Speaker 2 (01:32:23):
Uh yeah, and plus cuts into your ball game.

Speaker 6 (01:32:26):
Yeah yeah it does. And we'll get the best toilet,
the best toilet.

Speaker 2 (01:32:32):
Uh So, let me ask you a question outside of
Alabama and then we'll let you go. George's host in Texas.
What do you think about that one?

Speaker 6 (01:32:39):
Well, Kirby Smart, you know you always go to where
the Bama coach is.

Speaker 2 (01:32:42):
Oh well, but Texas was a Texas at Alabama too.

Speaker 6 (01:32:46):
Isbama against Obama, but Kirby was more loyal. We basically
bought sark In as part of an AA prom Tonight.
There it is, how about it? Coaching Obama? So good
and even sober an alcoholic.

Speaker 2 (01:33:07):
On fire good one there well enjoyed Tuscaloosa. Just hanging
out and boy, yeah, I'm saying better watch out this weekend.
You never doubted Greg, he's never haks Dicky, Thanks Dicky. Wow,
all right, we'll be right back. It's all right, Speedy.

(01:33:37):
You might want to answer this. Say they want you
to be included. Okay, they're asking where are you on
cheap trick? Cheap trick?

Speaker 6 (01:33:46):
Greg?

Speaker 2 (01:33:48):
Well, you know what? I well? I well, Speedy, first
you go ahead? Well, well, I mean I like, okay,
don't google. No, I'm just don't google. It's the most
popular one. Ah what the fly? Or okay, he's googling.
I want you to want me there? And how's that go?

(01:34:10):
I want you to want me exactly right? I mean
it's nobody wings.

Speaker 1 (01:34:19):
But okay, now you're off in it. Uh they're one
of those are you on cheap trick? I don't dislike them.
If you want my love, there's like bad you.

Speaker 2 (01:34:29):
There's about four or maybe five songs I like. But
I will say this, and you were there so like
you weren't. They opened for a Reo speed Wagon and
they're those I like them better live than I do recorded,
and I don't want them as the main act. No,
when they weren't like you said, but you me and
Rick Neilson comes out and he had that five five
neck guitar. He's a really good guitars and the Robin

(01:34:50):
Zonder good singer, wasn't It wasn't a ghost town that night.

Speaker 12 (01:34:53):
Was it?

Speaker 2 (01:34:56):
But yeah, I about five. That's one of the see
letenden with my gifts records.

Speaker 1 (01:35:09):
So remember the Kiss records falling out of that's good stuff. Okay, uh,
cheap trick, I'm about like you. I'm about a seven.

Speaker 2 (01:35:19):
You realize they were in Oxford a few weeks ago.
You don't know. But he's chiming win that's all. You
ain't got nobody, Okay, Kate's went. He usually you like
cheap trick at all. You know.

Speaker 5 (01:35:36):
I'm surprised you guys don't hate cheap trick. No, really,
I'm surprised y'all don't hate cheap trick. What bothered me
was he didn't.

Speaker 9 (01:35:42):
Yeah, I mean, sure he can play the guitar fine
and dandy, but he doesn't need the five neck guitar.
It never struck me as a band that needed you
don't need. He don't play it long, brings it out
for like one song, The.

Speaker 2 (01:35:56):
Surrender song is a good song. I'm burnt on probably
the rest of the tea want me to want you?
I'm done with that. And the very repetitive song.

Speaker 5 (01:36:03):
That's a repetitive That's.

Speaker 2 (01:36:05):
A good one. Yeah, yeah, she is. I mean well,
I mean it is. I mean tonight is a good one.
Pretty good. Yeah, Okay, just stop now, shame. I got
a good version.

Speaker 1 (01:36:20):
Update from the guy that went to see Brian Adams
and and Pat Benniss.

Speaker 2 (01:36:25):
Are you're going to be shocked. You're gonna be shocked.
I know what it says. I bet Patt was better
than Brian. No, it's worse. Guys, if you have read
of me, not say this.

Speaker 1 (01:36:34):
I won't go ahead because you're going to I like
both of these are You're absolutely.

Speaker 2 (01:36:39):
Gonna hate what heaven right now?

Speaker 1 (01:36:41):
Your day, Your day's okay, Greg, it's gonna take your
turn like both the I know you enjoying your day.

Speaker 2 (01:36:45):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, he's just straight from the heart what
you're saying. No, what's your level of caring about? Pat Benator? Uh?
About about a six? Okay? How do you care it all?
I'm I mean in her hey day, she was really good.
She did not.

Speaker 1 (01:36:59):
Perform hit Me with Your Best Shot because she's protesting.
I've heard this gun violence and she wants control.

Speaker 2 (01:37:05):
I've heard this before.

Speaker 5 (01:37:05):
It so her only his song that I know.

Speaker 2 (01:37:07):
Yeah, she didn't play it. No, No, I meant to
tell you I've heard that. Why did you tell me
you warn't it to not be real? Because here's my point, Pat, Pat,
we know your song. It's not about really shooting people.
We know that you don't have to punching your biggest hit.
Do you remember when they did the thing with him,
when you were your best shot fire away? You know?

(01:37:28):
I mean, we got enough sense as people to know
you're not advocating shooting people.

Speaker 1 (01:37:32):
You're gonna got a song, You're gonna rob us have
hit Me with your Best Shot, a great song, your
best known song, great solo, great solo, and we don't
get it. We can't even here your husband play guitar
because you're worried about gun protesting gun.

Speaker 2 (01:37:47):
Control, but that's not what the song is about. It
is yeah good and we can all work that out.
The n r A loves that song. What what can
she does? She play love is a battlefield? I mean,
you can't have a boom? Can't wait?

Speaker 6 (01:38:04):
You bitch?

Speaker 2 (01:38:04):
Shot? Do you remember? Tired of that song? And it
wouldn't bother me if she didn't play it, because I'm
just tired of it. But her reason bothered?

Speaker 1 (01:38:10):
Do you remember when they use it for Marvin Hagler
versus Tommy Hearn? I don't remember that, No, no it
was it was Sugar Ray Leonard versus.

Speaker 2 (01:38:17):
Marvin Hagler, him and we have been shot. They did
a little thing about how pretty good? You like that? Well?
I didn't know, but I don't like it now. And
I'm like her now because I think this is the
silly one?

Speaker 12 (01:38:28):
Is this?

Speaker 5 (01:38:28):
This is supporting war by playing love as a battlefield?

Speaker 4 (01:38:31):
Right?

Speaker 2 (01:38:32):
How about this? It bothers me so much I now
I don't like her. Mmm.

Speaker 1 (01:38:37):
There it is h and Brian Adams don't play run
to You anymore because he don't want to scare people
think he's running at him.

Speaker 2 (01:38:43):
Okay, all right, I forgot she looked like that, did
she perform? I love rock and roll. That's not that's
not I thought it was.

Speaker 9 (01:38:53):
She was.

Speaker 2 (01:38:54):
I liked her music too. I remember being a young man,
I thought I liked her all right.

Speaker 6 (01:39:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:39:01):
Oh treat me right, Yeah, that's good. Treat me right,
treat your mother right.

Speaker 2 (01:39:06):
Oh yeah, Oh wait, that's mister t one he promises
in the dark. Wasn't that bad? That's good.

Speaker 1 (01:39:11):
That's a good song. That's a good one. That's a
good one. The only problem is that that's you know,
she can't play that anymore. She can't play that anymore
because that may be endorsing and wanted pregnancy.

Speaker 2 (01:39:23):
Oh yeah, and telling the truth promises, it's too little,
too Late's a good song. That's a great one. She good,
you better run, you better remember early m TV. Oh
come on, we lived for love, not bad. I hated
that one.

Speaker 6 (01:39:38):
That was not that one.

Speaker 2 (01:39:40):
I didn't like that one. Matter of fact, that's when
I thought she was in the dark. Maybe fact that
said dandy.

Speaker 5 (01:39:45):
Promises, you're about looking for a stranger.

Speaker 1 (01:39:50):
Now, this next title is going to scare everybody. But
what the song is about? A really good song? She
does it's hell as for Children, Greg, No, it is.
It's about child abuse. I know it is, but the
song is it's a rocker.

Speaker 2 (01:40:01):
I didn't know. I didn't know you would grab that one.
That's a good song. I mean, that's a good song,
but it was such a serious topic. It was uncomfortable.
It was because I think that you tried to get
a little heat early and she was once you listen
to the lyrics on what I'm saying, right, you who
wrote Okay? Why did she take that same attitude about
hit me? We agree? Or she may quit playing. Maybe
she may not blame well.

Speaker 1 (01:40:20):
I mean, if if she can clarify rightfully so misunderstanding
that song, can't you clarify hit Me back?

Speaker 5 (01:40:26):
I would think, so, oh, now you're really not gonna
like her.

Speaker 6 (01:40:29):
Rick.

Speaker 5 (01:40:30):
She has a song called run between the rain Drops.

Speaker 2 (01:40:33):
No, no, men don't run in the rain. This is
the worst bat benefit our day ever.

Speaker 5 (01:40:40):
It's a run between the rains.

Speaker 2 (01:40:42):
I don't know that one. Oh that was when she
done got poppy.

Speaker 6 (01:40:45):
She wasn't.

Speaker 2 (01:40:46):
It's hard rock as she was early. Early stuff is
really good. And you remember you had to sit through
this whole thing where she was trained as an opera singer.
Ye came a rock singer after that? Does she write
Shadows of the Night?

Speaker 5 (01:40:57):
Buddy, we don't know, you don't need, you don't care,
you don't care.

Speaker 2 (01:41:02):
He buddy, buddy, mine was want to know dream Police.

Speaker 6 (01:41:07):
It's not bad.

Speaker 2 (01:41:08):
That's okay. When we come back, Video nine is going
to test how Speedy's doing today. All right, So this
is gonna be hard here that you got Oh boy,
don't don't you don't feel like we're living in a
society right now where we're really surrounded by the emotionally unstable.

(01:41:32):
Oh yeah, uh?

Speaker 6 (01:41:33):
And so.

Speaker 1 (01:41:36):
This is a grown woman, right Edgler? I would I
want I want to just just can I ask all
of you out there here adults? I mean, if you're grown, okay,
I think the kids check ID If you have little
ears and you want to cover them up, you can.
But but where where is this going? But no, it's
nothing off color?

Speaker 2 (01:41:57):
But but we got our attention, Rick, what conversation? Why
don't you just sit over there, mister let me roll
off cheap trick songs for you? Well talking music? I'm joining, right,
but you didn't have to add your agreeing with the title.

Speaker 6 (01:42:12):
But anyway, the.

Speaker 2 (01:42:15):
Winnie the Poo's not a real bear, no, Rick, he's
never been ring right, and you know what he is
is a carton. Yes he is great. Uh, and I
want you to watch his footage.

Speaker 1 (01:42:26):
Here's an adult woman who's meeting Winnie the Pooh, I
guess at Disney.

Speaker 2 (01:42:32):
Oh yeah, yeah.

Speaker 9 (01:42:33):
And she's at least she's at least thirty years old.
We know that because she's gonna say, I've waited thirty
years to meet you. What I've loved I've loved you
my whole life. So she's in her thirties.

Speaker 2 (01:42:45):
She's got a wedding ban on. All right, all right,
I'm sorry.

Speaker 9 (01:42:49):
And and I'll have to turn it down at a
couple spots because there's like sentimental music. But I want
you all to hear her interaction with Winnie the Pooh.

Speaker 2 (01:42:56):
You control it, I got it.

Speaker 9 (01:43:01):
I went in thirty years to meet you.

Speaker 5 (01:43:06):
What in the world, guys, Oh my godness, here's the music.
They're still hugging.

Speaker 2 (01:43:13):

little pool and I have one of the poop phone case.

the costume is even thinking. That's a little bit wrong.

Speaker 6 (01:44:22):

All right.

Speaker 2 (01:46:01):
You didn't have to make it that far.

Speaker 3 (01:46:03):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:46:03):
We're all right, stuff. I'm not gonna be able to
quit start small one up up Winnie the pooh pin.
Yeah right, breath. Let me tell you something. Somebody just
said this and I heard this bit too. The Jeff
Foxworthy bit about his uncle and Goofy, and he waited
in line to get Goofy's autograph. Why in the world

(01:46:28):
would you stand in line to get Goofy's autograph? And
he goes, I'm pretty sure that's the real Goofy. There's
a lot of people that are not the real Woe.
I think that's that's the real one right there.

Speaker 4 (01:46:42):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:46:42):
You know, if she wanted to meet Winning the Pooh,
you just simply contact the local, you know, really high
end costume place, and you could have had him over
her house, go to some kids book fair. He's probably
you see Clifford the Red Dog.

Speaker 2 (01:46:56):
I mean right, he'll be there. Not the real one, Greg.

Speaker 9 (01:46:59):
I want people to be happy, and I want people
to have things good for you that they like. I
want people to have things that they like and they're
into and things like that. But when I see people
extending things from their childhood into their adulthood in an
unhealthy way, that bothers me.

Speaker 5 (01:47:18):
That bothers me.

Speaker 8 (01:47:19):
Go to Disney and enjoy it. But you're saying, as
a grown woman, when you meet just a pool o God,
you're in your crime.

Speaker 1 (01:47:26):
Yeah, it's even okay. I mean, I remember when I
was there with my kids, which is a.

Speaker 2 (01:47:32):
You love the power ring, which is a key point
to get.

Speaker 5 (01:47:35):
So you went there with children, interesting time.

Speaker 1 (01:47:38):
I would do things like hey, goofy, good to see you,
you know, with the kids. That wasn't real good wasn't
wasn't the real one. But uh but anyway, you know,
so that's fun. You're you're pretending with your kids. But
this woman's like Disney by herself took the squalling and
and was looking to meet we need the pood to
get that off her bucket list. It's even I'm okay

(01:48:00):
to have your picture maybe with Win the Poo and say,
you know, I already loved Winn the Poo when I
was a kid. Kind of I'm gonna get my picture
maybe with Ween the Pooh. But when you start saying
things like.

Speaker 2 (01:48:08):
I've been waiting to meet you for thirty years poo,
that's weird.

Speaker 9 (01:48:13):
It is it seems like childhood things need to be
worked out or something like something's going on there.

Speaker 2 (01:48:20):
You see what I'm saying, Like, no, we got it, okay, Yeah,
Like maybe she wouldn't allow to see Win the Poo
when she was a kid.

Speaker 5 (01:48:27):
Some kind of trauma something.

Speaker 8 (01:48:29):
Right, You remember that good night look at that moment
when you saw the playback and you were like, oh wow, yeah.
Do you think if she is at home and she
sees the playback of this video, she might go oh wow.

Speaker 2 (01:48:41):
I don't know. I think she's so far gone. I mean,
her reaction was so sincere. She was so excited to say, pooh,
look at my little poo. Right, I don't know this
is all right, speedy something playing that. You're right if
you're not watching the video, the videos, the videos crucial.

(01:49:04):
What kind of radio show is this?

Speaker 6 (01:49:05):
Right?

Speaker 2 (01:49:07):
You can't see what we're here. The video is crucial
right there.

Speaker 5 (01:49:10):
So I just want people to be happy.

Speaker 9 (01:49:12):
And but you know, things of your childhood that's okay
to like still like it, but don't like be a
child about it, Like does that make sense? Like look
back at your childhood with fondness and those things with fondness,
but don't don't be a child don't be childlike about it.

Speaker 5 (01:49:27):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:49:28):
It just bothers me. This from the man who dresses
up his orange justice.

Speaker 5 (01:49:33):
Yeah, and that's to make you guys laugh, right, that's
for y'all. That's for y'all's jolly, it's not mine.

Speaker 2 (01:49:38):
Yeah, and where's a white wig for VI's verdict? You
know what, it is hard for us to speak to
this particular talk. Okay, a living you make some good points.
All right, we'll be back. We have more to cover
before we wrap up today's hour.

Speaker 9 (01:49:55):
Speaking of speedy and uncomfortable moments and Mississippi State. Did
you'll see the proposal at the Mississippi State game? How
do y'all feel about proposing when you're getting really beat
really bad?

Speaker 1 (01:50:05):
So you got to call it off? The old miss proposal.
They knew they were gonna win. They were playing the citadel.

Speaker 7 (01:50:10):
Yeah, this is the Rick Burgess Show.
