Happy Valentine's back you, but she is us him and
he loves somebody else.
Speaker 4 (00:34):
You just can't me.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Here we go and so you heard. The gang is
all here Dad, and we are ready for a brand
new hour. And then we'll run through a brand new show.
A lot to you today, Bay, wasn't the show loves wait,
(01:01):
start the show with those of you that you've kind
of been dreading Valentine's today.
Speaker 5 (01:07):
Look, it's gonna work out. You're gonna be all right.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
You've been like a man and as when all the
lovebirds flutter around here, I am dejected again. We're here
for you. Okay, we'll walk through this today. Well we'll
be talking about that a little bit. We're gonna hear
from Gary today. Hey, I'm headed to the World Tracky Federation.
So he's headed to Nashville, says he'll call us. Usually
(01:32):
his cell phone is terrible. But if you're going to
that event in Nashville, Tennessee, the music City. They're at
the Gaylord opry Land hotel and convention center and all that.
You'll you'll see Gary there. I forget the booth number,
but Speedy had it. It's go to hounds Tooth there there,
Moultrie's there. He's already sent his pictures. You can see him. Hey, Motrie,
(01:56):
might let me set up there, maybe next to him.
I don't think so, Gary, try that again, but anyway,
so Gary will be here. Those of you that haven't
heard the album Love Songs with Gary, we'll drop that
in again today for you. Hit this hour and then
a little bit later. Climbing the chart. Yeah, it's it's
climbing the charts. So we got that today. We also
(02:18):
we have the vox seats.
Speaker 5 (02:21):
There they are.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
We'll have people coming in from all over. They'll be
settled in here to our world. They'll they'll not just here,
They're not just watch on YouTube. There'll be just a
few feet from us. And it's a different experience watching
all this in live motion. So so someone a couple
of them will play.
Speaker 6 (02:41):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
They'll do the burgess ball battle uh, and then the
winner of that battle, we'll spin the wheel and we'll
see what happens. Somebody could get cash today, So we
will see uh. And then another thing because of a
Burgess Brothers ball battle. Yes, your day, Greg will be
(03:01):
handing me over the Jimmy Dean today. Did you bring
it in? Is in there in the freezer? Okay? So
in the freezer? Yeah, not a refrigerator. This is a
different version, actually is it? Is it? It was next
in line. That's what I was bringing to eat today.
Speaker 5 (03:20):
Okay. He's got his arms crossing, baby.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
And what happened yesterday is even though even though you
seem to get started a little bit later and we
heard that protest, you also acknowledged but when I thought
I had won, I stopped shooting and maybe could have
gotten more points to you had more points than I thought.
You did it even if I started on time, I
probably couldn't have made it up. Okay. So so at
the end, basically you cheated at the cheated. At the
(03:48):
end of it all, you conceded. Yeah, even though I
will commend you, baby brother, on on stepping up and
showing everybody that.
Speaker 5 (03:55):
You had more points in you.
Speaker 7 (03:57):
Well, yeah, you know, but I know what got him
so and it was the caller yesterday that said, oh
I guess.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
Yeah, I mean, yeah, he's right. Yeah, okay, got on
you a little bit and you're like, okay, he did,
that's fine. Well look at that form cold. That's how
they teach it.
Speaker 8 (04:10):
That's fantastic.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
I mean, that's how they teach it, especially like that. Right,
that's well trash. Let me tell you what that I
noticed over there, seriously because it was one of the
things that that helped me is I got a pretty
good wing span. But I've noticed if you if you
lift up, even though not dunck, and just shoot down,
your percentages are a lot higher. So you're right, yeah,
(04:35):
so anyway, you know, But I mean, of course, now
I do a pretty spin on it. Yeah, got have
back spin.
Speaker 8 (04:41):
It makes it so much more forgiving on the bows.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
No, I remember, like I was young in basketball and
I went through like city league, no offense. I appreciate
all these people, these men devoting their time, but I
didn't get a lot of teaching. And I never will
forget the first time that a guy who knew something
about basketball came to him and said, hey, big man,
let's let me show you how to shoot the basketball.
You're just you're just taking two hands and slinging it
(05:05):
and then you're now let me tell you, we'll get
a rebound and put it back in. But if you
want to shoot an outside shot, you know you're really
shooting one handed and you just guide with the other hand.
And I remember when they when I I know a
lot of you going Rick, that's elementary. I know that.
I just remember getting taught that for the first time.
I can still remember it, and uh and I and
I'm thankful for him doing that.
Speaker 9 (05:25):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 5 (05:26):
That boy, that's pretty.
Speaker 7 (05:27):
So Terry missed the whole Terry missed the whole Jimmy
Dean thing, okay, And so I reached out to you
guys because I didn't know, and it just like we
were going to run at the grocery store and I'm like, hey, great,
did you get Jimmy Dean? The fact I texted that,
Terry was like, what does that even mean?
Speaker 5 (05:43):
Right, because she went with j D, which was funny.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
Right, Yeah, for a second, I thought who ship?
Speaker 7 (05:51):
And so She's like, do what they they shot baskets
to see who eats Gregg's Jimmy Dean?
Speaker 5 (05:57):
I said, yes, She said, what is wrong with y'all?
Speaker 8 (05:59):
Right?
Speaker 10 (05:59):
What?
Speaker 2 (06:00):
I really don't even like it? But you'all just don't.
It's the factor. You like it. You heard it yourselfish
with your food. I've already I was looking forward to
this and had it in the lines. It's a little
different now. Oh yeah, it's bigger, Greg, I made I
made adjustments on my routine today. Looking forward a minute ago,
I was like, man, I said, no, hold on, wait,
wait a minute, I gotta get my prize. Give me.
Speaker 11 (06:25):
John.
Speaker 7 (06:25):
So what I'd like to do is maybe set y'all
up right here, and you know, chair here, chair here,
You're facing him and he has to watch you eat it.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
I just got weird. Why why do we do something
like he just has to fishly hand it to me?
Speaker 7 (06:40):
No, no, no, you know, our little.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
This is what I'm looking This is what I'm envisioned.
But in that kind of I don't really know if
I wanted to watch me. I'm weird and I just
give it. Here's your here's great. Look.
Speaker 5 (06:55):
Oh I see oh yeah, oh.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
Yeah, okay, I see okay, yeah that yeah, that makes
a lot of sense. And then Greg, it almost so said,
we're playing a game show and I've got to I've
got to get Greg. Yeah, look a passwords I'm looking for. Okay, Okay,
just have to sit there.
Speaker 5 (07:13):
You have to watch him eat it.
Speaker 12 (07:14):
Oh yeah, watch him eat it, child.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
And if I back up and hit the shot from
nearly there, it erases all this right here, absolutely right now. Yeah, okay,
Gra's gonna take one shot to see if he can
erase it.
Speaker 5 (07:37):
Let me take Greg, you make that. I promise you you.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
Can have it. Watch that light? How far?
Speaker 13 (07:42):
How far?
Speaker 2 (07:44):
Yeah? Greg, that's impossible.
Speaker 8 (07:46):
Steps where you can actually make it?
Speaker 2 (07:48):
Well, wait a minute, he hits the roof.
Speaker 8 (07:51):
Do you hit the roof? Take one step for you.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
Don't be afraid of the roof, Greg, this is about
getting that Jimmy Nan back. Don't hut that roof box
from the wood.
Speaker 8 (07:58):
That's hard enough.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
Roof, it's so low, it's so so we're giving him
another shot. What is this? Oh that was that was
really close? Of course it wasn't because it didn't go in.
But uh, now you know one more time you have
to go.
Speaker 5 (08:16):
Fine, you got.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
I brought a little summit. Well the good thing about it.
Then you made a judgment him. It's Fox the day
so yeah, sure, yeah, that's true. Yeah, you never know
what's gonna becoming the nose of box. Seature right there.
I can't wait for you. Don't watch Greg Ain't that?
I mean, rig eat it? You know what I'm glad about.
It's against his die. Yeah, I hope he puts two found.
(08:44):
Ain't somebody said it's just ceiling, not a roof. You
know what we mean?
Speaker 14 (08:50):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (08:51):
Oh yeah, you know what we mean. The roof is on. Fine, yeah,
the roof, the roof its all time. We'll come back.
We got to lotch in you today. Happy Valentine's Day.
Hey fellas, heads up, we're right back.
Speaker 1 (09:06):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
We're back. Thanks for being with us always and forever.
E's a moment with you. So working way back on
the Valentine's Day edition of the show that somehow came true.
Cher I hope you listening, and I knows tomorrow.
Speaker 5 (09:50):
I sing this cherry all time.
Speaker 2 (09:53):
She loves it, especially especially if she can hear it
off and coming out of the shower.
Speaker 5 (09:58):
You know you got my coach right.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
Day, love me spash showy now. So coming back as
far as Valentine's Day, heads up, everybody, have we all
as far as the dudes here, have we gotten everything?
Speaker 5 (10:24):
I know I'm going to be rolling to the at L.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
And and and thankfully, thankfully my beautiful bride, my Valentine,
will be there. Uh to be sure that I know
exactly how to get there. Yes, uh and uh and
cool traveling. Hello, Valentine, let's you be my co pilot.
Speaker 5 (10:45):
Let's go.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
And so we're you know, anytime you're headed to the
at L. Those you that live other parts of the country,
we'll all do just about anything to get around going
through Atlanta. Atlanta is just uh, it's just so, it's
so unpredictable. This is what you can say about Atlanta.
Nothing's easy. No, no, nothing's easy. But here's what I'd
(11:10):
like to do, because you know how I like to
get settled. I've kind of said, let's just as soon
as I can finish up my responsibilities at the office.
I'm talking about like at the minute I come through
the door, let's let's get in that car and let's go.
Let it go, let's get onto the hotel, let's get settled.
I know that our son, we got to wait for
him to get off work, but we will not we
(11:32):
will not.
Speaker 5 (11:33):
Try to go.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
Well, let's just go over there later. I mean, we
can't see until he gets off work anyway. Yeah, I'm
talking about it. If I get over in Atlanta and
they literally tell me to sit down in the lobby
and relax, why they prepare the room that they didn't
have it ready yet, you ahead of the game. I
don't care. That's fine. I got to get to that
city and I gotta get settled. Yep. I can't be
out there on the outskirts trying to come in son
coming down.
Speaker 5 (11:54):
I can't be. That can't happen. No, So I'm going
over there.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
I don't even care if I've got to go sit
at We got to go have lunch somewhere and wait
on the hotel room to be ready. It sounds like
that's pretty relaxing. I don't care at all. I got
to get there.
Speaker 7 (12:06):
It's all about getting the hardest part done, and the
hardest part is getting there.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
And then there's and then there's phase two. I'm off work,
Mom and Dad, I've got plans for us tonight for
our visit. So we're going somewhere. Now here we go.
Now we're off in the city, and now we're off
and running. Yeah. So uh but you know, and it's
I keep being well, it's not crowded over there and
(12:31):
going on, and I'm so no hassle, you know me.
I threw things up, like why don't we you see
at the hotel, and she's like, the hotel have you
said the rest? What I said? I'm for me, I'd
go the snag machine and let's all sit around one
of those those chairs out in the lobby and just
visit with our son. She goes, Sia, we're going to
visit our son, spend the week with him, and he
(12:53):
wants to go do something. You you just want him
to hang out with us in the lobby of the hotel. Absolutely,
I just want to see my son. I don't care.
You've seen the lobby is pretty nice. Yeah, it's not
a bad lobby. I'm the hotel restaurant's pretty good. I
will say this changed kind of letting their their their
places gettle more shabby than you sedill am not sure.
So one we talked about oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
they're starting to get a little shy. We just stayed
(13:13):
at one too and thought the same. They're starting to
let them get a little shabby. What's up? I don't know,
because they are not a Dennis. You can walk to
from the hotel. By the way, did you see Denny's
is gonna close more more locations than they even thought?
So sad dog going it?
Speaker 9 (13:25):
Greg?
Speaker 5 (13:25):
Why did you bring that up?
Speaker 14 (13:28):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (13:29):
So, anyway, it.
Speaker 8 (13:30):
Turns out that mascot wasn't a good choice. I guess.
Speaker 6 (13:36):
That's true.
Speaker 8 (13:38):
Sausage that did not look no.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
Good joy at the end chuk a dog left it behind.
So I floating toilet or mascot. That's terrible. So so
that's that's all. I'm gonna be dealing with that. And
then we're gonna roll back sometimes Saturday and and then
(14:02):
get we'll be done. But that will be done. But
I just, you know, I just you just got to
get there, just got to get there. We gotta get
sett on. We've got to get off the interstate. Well
it started, it started yesterday. She goes, So you're packing already.
I said, yes, I'm packing. I said, honey, I'm not.
I'm making serious. As soon as as soon as my
foot comes in that door, I'm gonna be grabbing a
(14:22):
bag and throwing it in the car. And I thought
for you to be in the same mode. Well, I
don't have to go and get pack because I mean,
I can get ready while you're at work. I'm like, honey,
let's not get off on a bad note now. Yeah,
and she goes, what are you talking? Abou? I said,
I just don't please, don't let me come in here.
And there's stuff strode all over the bathroom. Minn And
you're looking in the mirror. Still get yourself done? Oh
you know, come on, just be read.
Speaker 5 (14:44):
It's like, you know what I've been through to get
back here, so we can leave. Please, please be ready? Please?
Speaker 7 (14:48):
So I made that speech at my truck's pack right now,
Rick I got We're back to Hunsel.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 7 (14:56):
College baseball officially begins on all levels this week kend Uh.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
Was another thing.
Speaker 5 (15:02):
Y'all went to U A h that they have started.
Speaker 11 (15:06):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (15:06):
Conference play starts this weekend.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
Uh.
Speaker 7 (15:09):
And you know college baseball, they couldn't care less about
your schedule. They just need to get games in, so
they'll move games around.
Speaker 2 (15:16):
I don't care about We're playing baseball in February. Crazy
And where played in January? Grege? He went to the
farting January, I know, into January?
Speaker 5 (15:25):
Uh? So where where they play that market?
Speaker 2 (15:28):
Uh?
Speaker 7 (15:29):
Weather's coming in late Saturday, so they and I appreciate them,
but they moved.
Speaker 5 (15:33):
They moved games up to early today.
Speaker 7 (15:35):
So the conversation was, well, Terry, what do we do
because we got to go to your point. As soon
as my responsibilities are done here, I've got to go.
There was conversation, do I meet do I just come
to the studio? But then we got a car thirty.
Speaker 2 (15:48):
Minutes and the back end, and you'll forget it when
you call, of course, but you don't want to leave your.
Speaker 7 (15:53):
Car in some parking lot for the weekend. So uh,
there's there's a little bit of thanks guy. I'm like,
what do we doing? I got to have a plan,
so but I'm packed and ready.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
So now I don't know.
Speaker 5 (16:03):
I'm gonna getting what do I do? Where am I
getting you?
Speaker 2 (16:06):
And where am I going?
Speaker 13 (16:07):
On?
Speaker 2 (16:07):
Happy Valentine's Day? Honey, let's go, Let's go. Valentine's Day
is gonna get That's the thing. Everything we're focused on
other things. I feel like we've already met our Valentine's
Day responsibilities as husbands. But you got to be real
careful with that. But I do feel that way, don't you.
Speaker 5 (16:22):
Yes, boy, I tell you what.
Speaker 7 (16:25):
I just bravo to the delivery guy that came in
late last night with some things I had ordered for
Charry and uh and so I have left the house
with things set up for for Valentine's.
Speaker 15 (16:36):
Yeah, I learned that you can't give it to them
that afternoon. It doesn't mean as much because they know
you went that day and got it.
Speaker 2 (16:42):
That's a fact.
Speaker 8 (16:43):
Why does that matter? I don't know, right, they don't.
It wouldn't matter to me.
Speaker 2 (16:47):
Wouldn't me either? Okay, you know when when when something
goes well for us, I don't care what kind of
day a day was.
Speaker 8 (16:54):
No, I don't care if that decision was made.
Speaker 5 (16:56):
Look the hours that we work. I preferre the I
prefer the light. Yes, Greg, you' getting Lisa pizza on
the way home.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
Mm, I got I got stuff. I got to do
that late. Don't on what time I'll be home. Oh
that's right. He's gotta take care of mama.
Speaker 11 (17:08):
Done.
Speaker 2 (17:08):
Yeah, but I'm can you do me a favorite to speak?
Speaking of the weather thing that's talking about, will you
please let mom know for us if the weather gets
bad at all, it's going to be like Saturday night. Yeah,
I'm going to be home. She keeps up well. I
tell you what do you better watch that weather. I'm
sixty watching. Hey, you better watch that weather. I'm not
going to stay in Atlanta another night. You know what

Speaker 2 (17:32):
Stay well, you better get home for that weather. It's
not till Saturday night. Yeah, it's going to be all right.
Speaker 7 (17:37):
Well, they'll talk about weather. They loved that weather talking
talk to dad yesterday.
Speaker 5 (17:41):
How you doing Dad?
Speaker 2 (17:42):
Well, fellas finally stopped raining. I've been raining for two days. Look,
I've seen it in that car and you know that
commercial you were coming like your parents. I did this
this week. And when I did it because we got
a good bit of rain or where we live. And
I could not believe I said it. I couldn't believe it.
I looked at the window. I said, boy, we needed
(18:02):
that rain.
Speaker 8 (18:03):
I do it every time.
Speaker 9 (18:05):
I do it every time.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
I can't believe I did it. Commercial believe it. I
was like, gosh, I did that? Like didn't he mean?
I went trying to.
Speaker 15 (18:14):
I'll say it every time it rains, just to bother
my wife, even if it's been pouring to days.
Speaker 8 (18:19):
Good thing we need.
Speaker 2 (18:28):
So Yeah, your mama's always your mama. I'm sixty years old.
My mom's talking to me like I'm taking a college trip.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
They're funny where they take somebody's face and head and
put it on who can really dance? And things like that.
So we have one that is going to feature Greg
and Lisa, Papa and Leeleigh. I picked this. She's saying
like three or four, but I picked this one. Yeah, okay,
and so so Adler has this what we're gonna watch
(22:54):
this and and Adler anytime today through I have the show.
You want to throw this on the screen behind this?
Speaker 5 (22:58):
Go ahead?
Speaker 8 (22:58):
Okay? And I think this is actually really Greg dancing.
Speaker 2 (23:02):
Okay, okay, they're gonna have to really this is real. Okay,
this is Israel.
Speaker 4 (23:12):
That Greig?
Speaker 2 (23:14):
Is it? Johnder body.
Speaker 16 (23:19):
Last watch out?
Speaker 2 (23:27):
I'm wanna girl.
Speaker 11 (23:33):
Oh that's great, careful.
Speaker 4 (23:43):
It's just because I'm showing down.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
Side won a couple where I like, practice.
Speaker 4 (24:14):
Job, airful, run it down.
Speaker 5 (24:20):
You're talking about living in john that's right there you go.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
Yeah, that's so good. We'll have to get that out
on something.
Speaker 5 (24:30):
Oh that's fantastic.
Speaker 8 (24:32):
My favorite move is like the bad fake run that
he does when he's trying to get.
Speaker 2 (24:36):
To the girl. Yeah, here it goes.
Speaker 8 (24:43):
And then she runs away.
Speaker 5 (24:43):
He's like, that's good.
Speaker 2 (24:53):
If you remember, so Cash, I guess you and I
probably the only ones old enough because we were we
were like.
Speaker 5 (25:01):
Junior high boys when that came out.
Speaker 2 (25:03):
Oh yeah yeah, because I remember I couldn't drive, because
I remember my my best friend, Mickey Shadwick's sister took
he and I to see it.
Speaker 5 (25:12):
Because people were talking about it. Of course you on.
Speaker 2 (25:13):
Everybody, every every teenage boy in the world was in
love with a living John, you know what I mean.
And uh, and I remember going to uh to see that,
you know. And of course, now in those days, you didn't.
I mean we were we were not little boys, but
we weren't older and and you know, I remember thinking
to myself, I and we've talked about this before. Uh,
(25:34):
every time this has come up on the thirty one
years of the Rick and Bubba Show, is you were
you weren't really ready for Grease Lightning No later. Yeah,
at the time, I didn't.
Speaker 5 (25:43):
I didn't think anything about it.
Speaker 2 (25:44):
But then I listened to it when I was older.
Speaker 5 (25:46):
Yeah, it was like wow, right, yeah, so there there
we go.
Speaker 8 (25:51):
It's really not a kid's movie.
Speaker 2 (25:52):
Yeah, no, there's there's some lines in it that uh yeah,
it's it's not it's not exactly like I said. Now,
we weren't little boys, but but we didn't get it.
It's one of those things I just want to caution
everybody out there. And this is fun and all, that's great,
but it's one of those moments where and I've done it,
we've all talked about it.
Speaker 5 (26:10):
You grew up on something. You saw it.
Speaker 2 (26:13):
You have a family, and you think you want to
show your fan and then you let it roll and
you're like, oh guys, wait a minute, I don't remember that. Yeah,
I don't remember. I know why ain't send you just
singing hopelessly devoted? Right, there's more songs in here.
Speaker 7 (26:26):
And the sister drugged me to that movie so many times.
I think it was in the twenties. But now thinking
back on it, you know, she's older than me, she
could drive, and my parents probably just wanted me.
Speaker 2 (26:38):
Out of the house. Take Calvin to watch Grease again. Yeah,
and all her little friends and I'm in there, you
know then of it? Oh yeah, you love it?
Speaker 5 (26:48):
Well the I hate musicals, but I actually okay that's interesting.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
Yeah I do. I actually like this.
Speaker 5 (26:53):
Are you okay with the music in it?
Speaker 13 (26:55):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (26:56):
Yeah, okay.
Speaker 2 (26:57):
They spread it out pretty good. It wouldn't cond like
what was the one? It's got old Wolverine in it.
They sang watch the entire movie. Nobody spoke one word.
You saw that movie? You sit through that made me
do it? One time? You saw that movie? Yeah, she
loved it. I can't remember. I cannot be my kids.
(27:17):
My kids loved it too, And I remember going to
the theater and I looked down there and everybody, my
whole family is like just so just so enthralled in
this movie, and I'm done there going you give me
enough dialogue? Okay, Yeah, I don't mind a song. I
mean a movie if it's a really good movie that
a song breaks out in, but one that says, from
the beginning to the end, we're singing the whole way. Gregg,
(27:40):
He's gonna show something on the screen.
Speaker 5 (27:42):
Yeah, you say that.
Speaker 2 (27:43):
I haven't singing that.
Speaker 11 (27:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (27:44):
My favorite thing about I'm sorry.
Speaker 15 (27:45):
My favorite thing about Grace was that it portrayed this
guy as being in high school.
Speaker 2 (27:49):
Yeah, yeah, the whole the birds, all the t birds.
Speaker 15 (27:52):
Goodness, that guy's got a five o'clock shadow that's coming
in Gray.
Speaker 8 (27:56):
What's happening.
Speaker 13 (28:00):
Thirty nine?
Speaker 2 (28:01):
Who cast?
Speaker 17 (28:02):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (28:03):
Yeah, yeah, looks like I mean, she's like she's like
that that woman to let the kids drink down in
your in your neighborhood. I remember watching it and be like,
somebody's cool, mam ya how I was like, how old
are these people supposed to be?
Speaker 8 (28:17):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (28:18):
So confused they're supposed to be in high school. No, no,
how about this, at least try to make them be
in college. Yeah, they got these people at in the
late statters. There were no good young actors. They showed
it off though. You know what you do love it.
You know these people are in the early thirties out
of work.
Speaker 8 (28:35):
Yeah, say that you look young by the time people
are forty. In this society, they look like they're seventy
years old.
Speaker 11 (28:42):
This is perfect, man, But that one guy, really.
Speaker 2 (28:47):
This shadows sown parents everywhere saying. Somebody said, show my
family smoking in the Bandit wish wish I'd remembered it better.
First one showed my family blazing saddles.
Speaker 8 (28:58):
Oh there's that one scene in airplane? How which for
good about?
Speaker 2 (29:03):
Okay, buddy, everybody goes.
Speaker 8 (29:05):
Crazy right back.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 4 (29:19):
It's a little bit funny, this feeling side.
Speaker 2 (29:27):
Nothing those too again, he's ale. So Valentine's Day edition
of The Rick Burgess Show. Thanks for being well read.
The box seats will be full later as we have
guests coming from all over. We'll hear from Gary on
the way to the World Turkey Federation. Uh, they're gathering
(29:50):
in Nashville.
Speaker 18 (29:51):
And bos scold, but then again no or a mans and.
Speaker 2 (30:02):
Travel and show I know it's not mother, It's the
best I can do. Somebody say this one for you.
My gift is my song, and this one's for you.
So do you remember before we move into other stuff, though,
do you remember speaking of that the Grease cast way
(30:25):
too old to be playing high school people? Did y'all
ever have the sort of creeper person that maybe their
high school days must have been their best days and
they graduated a few years and they couldn't quite let
it go, keep coming back, and you'd like, go out there,
like at lunch time to the prom. Yeah, yeah, they
keep going the prom. You look out there at lunchtime.
(30:46):
It's like they're hanging out in the middle of the day.
Speaker 5 (30:47):
You're like, you did you not? Did you not? Pick
up a job?
Speaker 8 (30:50):
And maybe going to the games? Okay, but whoa, you're
showing school hours.
Speaker 2 (30:55):
No, no, yeah, the game's different. You know you want
to go to see your high school game, that's all, sure,
that's fine. Maybe not where you y probably yeah, probably
don't have your jersey on, and uh I did that
one time. But anyway, it's so uh bet out of
the coach's box. Yeah you know sign Yeah, yeah, you
should you be at the prime four years later. You know,
(31:15):
I don't think the limit on that one year, but
you know I would even know if they would come
around campus, you know, and in those days and you
and you thought, well, we finally made it to our
senior year, so we're supposed to be and they're still
and what are you doing still here? You know, what
are you doing sitting over there with them? You know,
are you really at the lunch table? You're not supposed
to be in here?
Speaker 13 (31:34):
You know.
Speaker 2 (31:34):
It's almost like they couldn't quite let it go.
Speaker 13 (31:35):
That's what.
Speaker 5 (31:36):
That's what a lot of these these people in this
movie little you know.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
That's the fact you're hanging around and taking got a
lot of money to it in the cars. They said
that there's they caught them super seniors. Super Yeah. So
uh what about uh?
Speaker 5 (31:54):
What about the dayton of five hundred this weekend? Anybody interested?
Speaker 10 (31:58):
Uh?
Speaker 11 (31:58):
Yeah?
Speaker 13 (31:58):
I like that?
Speaker 7 (31:59):
Am I like And I've admitted it and and I
probably need to do better, But Daytona Talladega, I'm normally
all in.
Speaker 2 (32:06):
Yeah, me too, And I probably missed it last you
we'll probably miss it this year and those of you
that follow NASCAR, it probably makes you really angry that
we just said that it does, but you know, it's
it's one of the I'm like you guys, I'm the
big tracks, big tracks only I don't watch the shorter
tracks and some of the tiny little bowls I don't.
Speaker 5 (32:22):
I like the big tracks.
Speaker 2 (32:24):
I'm Talladega, I'm Charlotte, I'm Atlanta. Yeah, I'm Daytona. Right, yeah,
those are the ones I like. Yeah, And Nascar, I
mean they've done a pretty good job of trying to
adapt and they had to, but to kind of adapt
a little bit on not only you know, the stands,
I know, Talladega took the backstretch off, whatever, but also
(32:44):
just constant change in their season, maybe too much. Some
some of the purists are going, hey, this is too much,
but can't fix the point.
Speaker 7 (32:52):
It gets a little confusing because there's so much change,
Like this year, there's been major change, uh in in
in how that everybody's gonna be set up, as far
as the race goes on, how everybody and the single
car qualifying and all that.
Speaker 2 (33:08):
It's just everything looks a little different, and it's it's
tough to keep up with Yeah, they and again the
points system, I can't figure it out. Now they start eliminating.
At some point, did we not agree that NASCAR may
have suffered from their own excellence that at one time
the TV coverage got so good? Yeah, getting inside the car,
hearing the conversations from the.
Speaker 5 (33:29):
Crew chief and the driver.
Speaker 2 (33:31):
Right, Uh, of course they have outstanding You know, folks
who have raced that know what they're talking about. Are
they almost a victim of the TV coverage? Is too good?
Every race is on TV somewhere, yeah, right, right, because
because you think about it, I'm in the stands and
there's you know, if you enjoyed that atmosphere, it's great.
And I think every human, seriously, every human, at some
(33:51):
time in your life, even it's the only thing you do,
you should go to a go to a Talladega or
a Daytona and you need to sit there and if
you don't do anything else, just sit there for the.
Speaker 5 (34:02):
First ten laps. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (34:03):
You need to experience that power in those cars and
the roar and all of them together and the colors,
and it's incredible.
Speaker 7 (34:09):
You never understood that until I went Yeah, I never did.
And then when I went you just uncontrollably start screaming
when they go by.
Speaker 2 (34:16):
Yeah. So, And like you said, the nineties were just
over the top for NASCAR. They could do no wrong,
they can do no printing money, and then they went down.
They had to jus me. They overbuilt it a lot
of the tracks, like you say, made the ticket again
and they fixed that, Tyler. They gets starts to I
mean they still draw good.
Speaker 11 (34:32):
Yeah they do.
Speaker 5 (34:32):
I'm sure the us SO.
Speaker 2 (34:35):
And then there's a story today and I'm with you, Speedy,
I'm not. This sounds almost like they're trying to create
more of a story than there is. And I think
the reason why they are is because Bubba Wallace and
you know, we had that weird thing where Bubba Wallace
and people claimed that, you know, at Talladega there was
a noose, Was that there was a noose in the garage.
(34:58):
Come to find out it really was and all that
that everybody was out to get Bubba Wallace because you
know that he's you know, black.
Speaker 8 (35:06):
And they walked in solidarity with him on the track.
The drivers didn't.
Speaker 2 (35:10):
I forgot they did that.
Speaker 9 (35:11):
Yeah, And.
Speaker 15 (35:13):
It wasn't even it was not even at all at
all a news and it was just a rope to
pull down a garage.
Speaker 2 (35:19):
Door, and all of that was exaggerated. Well, Trump, you know,
said if you remember this, he said, he has. Bubba
Wallace apologized to those great NASCAR drivers and officials who
came to his age, stood by his side. We're willing
to sacrifice everything for him, only to find out the
whole thing was just another hoax. He wrote that in
twenty twenty in July. Well, apparently, you know, Bubba Wallace
(35:43):
didn't care for that that particular post. But all I
see in this and I honestly, I think we're making
this bigger than it is. I don't think that Bubba
Wallace cares. But all he's saying is And they asked
him what he thought about Trump in his second term.
(36:03):
Now coming to the Daytona five hundred, he said he
couldn't care less whether he's here or not. I'm here
to race or we're here to race, not for the show.
And so people are taking that as a negative comment.
I can see how that could can be. He didn't
say that he was anti Trump or anything. He just said, look,
when these kind of things happened, we're here to race, now,
(36:24):
do I think that he didn't like what Trump did
in twenty Probably so, but he's not actually dogging Trump.
He's just saying he's just saying we're.
Speaker 5 (36:34):
Here to race. Did he say it right? Did he
say couldn't care less?
Speaker 2 (36:36):
He did?
Speaker 8 (36:37):
It looks like he said couldn't care less.
Speaker 4 (36:38):
I can't find it.
Speaker 5 (36:39):
It's written correct.
Speaker 8 (36:40):
I can't find any video of it. But every article
quotes couldn't care less.
Speaker 2 (36:46):
Probably listens to the show, unless I'm misremembering. To be fair,
it wasn't like when you need to apologize. He didn't
pull a hoax. He didn't tie the night Jesse small
Lad it was correct. It was thought that that's what
was happening, and then they saw it was a video
or a picture from earlier and it was already that way.
(37:07):
So basically somebody made it that way.
Speaker 11 (37:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (37:09):
Yeah, they tied it to where they could pull their fingers.
Speaker 2 (37:13):
He was never accused of faking.
Speaker 8 (37:14):
It correct, but he allowed it to blow up, and
he didn't no, no, no.
Speaker 15 (37:19):
The news, the news about the news made way headlines,
and he commented on the line.
Speaker 8 (37:25):
But after it was shown to not be that this
is the whole thing disappeared.
Speaker 2 (37:30):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, but I didn't want to sound like
that unless I'm wrong. He was never a cute him
or any of his people didn't do it to set
it up. And that part should be absolutely clear.
Speaker 11 (37:42):
Greg.
Speaker 2 (37:42):
Thank you for making that clear, I think. But to
the other point, I think when it gets to the
point that that now NASCAR and being in Alabama because
of the misunderstanding, not a planned hoax, but the misunderstanding
the fact that it turned into so here's here's all
those racists again at Talladega and and NASCAR that don't
(38:05):
want a black driver. And then when you find out
that it wasn't a news and there was nothing intended,
probably an apology was was in order.
Speaker 15 (38:15):
In twenty twenty, Trump was the Grand Marshall at Daytona,
and y'all remember he did that laugh around the track
in the in the.
Speaker 8 (38:22):
Beast or whatever. I wonder if he's gonna do that
this time, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (38:26):
So the top of the hour, this is the Rick
Bridgers Show.
Speaker 2 (38:42):
You listen up, you know, like liay, you gotta.

Gary in the small window, he provides, So that's coming up.
But you know this is something I saw this yesterday
too speedy, and I was like, what any world have
you seen the video? And we'll tell you the story
this apparently is in it. Do you say Chile or
(40:55):
do you say Chile the country?
Speaker 5 (40:57):
I say, I say Chile, I say Chilly.
Speaker 2 (41:02):
I think it is Chile. But anyway, this is in
the Strait of Magellan. It's about sixteen hundred miles south
of Santiago, Chile, major tourist attraction in Chilean Patagonia. I
did not know that, if you are an adventurous person
(41:22):
that this is a thing a lot of people are doing.
Gonna be a little different.
Speaker 11 (41:27):
It says.
Speaker 2 (41:27):
The frigid waters, they're pose a challenge for those who
attempt to cross the strait. And here's another thing. If
you get in your raft and you're worried about the
choppy waters, you're worried about the frigid temperatures. You want
to accomplish getting across the Strait of Magellan. Well, now
there seems to be a new hazard. That's possible. You
could be swallowed by a whale. Now we've got a
(41:49):
dad watching his son. I guess they're trying to cross
it together. And you know, these giant whales, I can't
think of which go back. Yeah, the humpback whales. They
got these enormous owls and you know, sometimes you can
it's so wide you can't even tell it their mouth.
Sometimes you know, when they're coming up and they're they're
just weird. They're just grabbing a lot of little, tiny
fish and all this. Well Well does this and actually
(42:12):
consumes for a moment, the kid and the Well kid,
the young man in the raft, and he completely he
completely goes in the mind of Jonah kind of stuff.
And then the whale realizes this is not food, you know,
it's not creole, and they coughs him back up.
Speaker 5 (42:30):
Yeah, each in their own kayak.
Speaker 2 (42:33):
The water's a little rough, and so for those of
you that get audio only, you're going to hear the
night sounds of this. And now they speak.
Speaker 7 (42:40):
Chilean, Okay, Spanish, Spanish. Yeah, I don't know, so so
we're not going to understand what they're saying.
Speaker 2 (42:48):
But they're h.
Speaker 5 (42:52):
And they're in yellow kayaks just to paint.
Speaker 2 (42:54):
The Do you want me to or you speedy some
bunch and sure the man on a thousand voices? Will
you read the subtitles?
Speaker 8 (43:00):
You don't have the subtitles video?
Speaker 2 (43:01):
This doesn't have some okay, it doesn't.
Speaker 5 (43:03):
Okay, I think it does once it starts going.
Speaker 8 (43:05):
But I can turn it on.
Speaker 2 (43:07):
There it is having I turned it on.
Speaker 8 (43:09):
I didn't know how to turn off and turn off.
Speaker 2 (43:12):
Okay. So his son's out, you know, and here we
go and all of a sudden it comes to it.
I want you to watch it's about to happen. Oh yeah,
I mean you realize, say, look at that, there's one
side of the mouth and inside the mouth. Hey John
the way Jon jone, Now go to Nina bo.
Speaker 5 (43:32):
Now he's gone.
Speaker 2 (43:33):
He's gone. He's inside of mount he is completely gone.
Speaker 4 (43:36):
Underwater.
Speaker 5 (43:37):
He is in a whales mouth. Yeah, he's in a
whales mouth.
Speaker 8 (43:41):
Whales like whoa, wait a sit all sad, come down to.
Speaker 2 (43:45):
Calm down, grab the boat round, don't go up, don't
think it, take it, take it easy. I grabbed I'm here,
don Yeah.
Speaker 8 (44:01):
Wow, the waves in the room, come.
Speaker 16 (44:03):
Down, Come down down.
Speaker 2 (44:06):
Okay, So he's telling me I'm talking about I'm down,
I'll meet out.
Speaker 8 (44:12):
It's like Jaws.
Speaker 2 (44:13):
I say, I'm down there, come down. You gonna write
right here.
Speaker 14 (44:17):
I've been in.
Speaker 2 (44:19):
That's enough, that's enough. Calm down, Okay, they and there
he comes to tell me to come.
Speaker 16 (44:26):
To the shore. Calm down.
Speaker 2 (44:27):
Grab my rope, grab my ropes. I love you.
Speaker 18 (44:30):
I thought you had swallow I thought I had swallowed me, Dad, dude,
call it for honeys.
Speaker 2 (44:35):
I thought it swallow me.
Speaker 8 (44:37):
Don't look at his set up though, really sick set
up though. This kya, oh here you go?
Speaker 2 (44:41):
Is that kind of laughing?
Speaker 8 (44:42):
Yeah, he's smiling.
Speaker 2 (44:43):
He said, we're going to the shore.
Speaker 5 (44:45):
Nothing, nothing will happen unless as he used to the show.
Speaker 2 (44:47):
Yeah, l don't you know it. It was like an
eternity for last loan. But I've been from him. It
seemed like that.
Speaker 5 (44:53):
How about Wow in wales Mouth.
Speaker 8 (44:57):
This clip has it real time about about it. That
was slow mo, so you can tell how long he
wasn't inside for a long time.
Speaker 2 (45:06):
I bet he's swallowed up swallowed Mississippi Mississippi three, Mississippi
five seconds. This ain't something my life. I bet when
somebody says, do you think Jonah is a literal story?
I bet he goes, yes, it is absolutely meaning out
though why would he say?
Speaker 20 (45:27):
What is that?
Speaker 2 (45:28):
Here's what I love? So I don't know why by
saying this, people are saying, who's this person saying, why
don't you show the video on YouTube?
Speaker 11 (45:34):
We just did.
Speaker 15 (45:35):
We did, And a lot of times, okay, I love
thank you for the chance to explain this. A lot
of times I'm keeping it just on the TV behind
the guys, because a lot of times this viral video
will go everywhere. Everybody will show it, CNN, Twitter, It's everywhere.
And then a company will buy the rights to that
video and then scour the internet, search the internet for.
Speaker 8 (45:56):
People who broadcast it.
Speaker 2 (45:57):
How you low his money?
Speaker 8 (45:58):
And then we and then you get hit got it
the Carousel theme park?
Speaker 21 (46:03):
Uh uh?
Speaker 15 (46:05):
Disaster or something like somebody swung off one of those
swinging chairs. We played that I played at full screen.
It was maybe even six months after that show aired.
We got hit with a not just a copyright violation
on YouTube, we got hit with a strike. And if
you get three strikes, you're out, So I do have
to be very careful. Four balls you're you get first, baby, Yes,
(46:29):
and so just to thank you for the chance to explain.
Speaker 2 (46:31):
Thank you. I didn't know all that was going on.
I knew that we look. I know this because you
know when when everything that goes poorly, you know, eventually
ends up on my desk. And I know we've been
in you know things where they were you know, demanding
money from us. You know you got to pay this fine,
you gotta pay using it. So not going full screen
keeps us out of that.
Speaker 15 (46:51):
I've never had an issue if I keep things you
guys stay in it. Y'all are reacting. It can make
it an official reaction video, and it's not a supplement
for the original content.
Speaker 2 (47:02):
I thought our reaction was was really strong that time.
Speaker 5 (47:04):
I do you too?
Speaker 2 (47:05):
Yeah to me, slim to me? Can I you you
know it was the raft when you felt that raft
in his mouth? But you have big How big was
that mouth? Man makes a big mouth? Of course again,
now I'll every time I think of this, because when
you survive something like this.
Speaker 5 (47:21):
Is he's got such a good story.
Speaker 2 (47:22):
Now he's got Yeah, I don't are you're talking about rafting? Yeah,
you got ready for my story?
Speaker 5 (47:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (47:28):
I got swallowed by whale. Yeah, fit me out and
here I am didn't like me. There was a little
there was a little time. It was me and creole
inside this was well's mouth and and my raft hump back.
Speaker 15 (47:40):
Whale's mouth can be as wide as ten feet and
can hold five thousand gallons of water.
Speaker 5 (47:44):
Yeah wow, wow.
Speaker 15 (47:47):
If you have to have your head inside a lion's
mouth for a split second, you escape or you get
swallowed by a whale.
Speaker 8 (47:52):
What are you thinking? Because story wise, what do you
think is better?
Speaker 2 (47:55):
I like I got a better chance with the whale.
Speaker 5 (47:57):
I like the story of the well even better.
Speaker 2 (48:00):
Yeah, I'll go the lad is gonna clamp.
Speaker 9 (48:02):
Down on you.
Speaker 2 (48:02):
Yeah, I go. Well, you're not hurt, but you got
to said which wants a better story? If you survived,
I still say, well, yeah, yeah, I wouldn't as much danger,
but it's just a better story.
Speaker 1 (48:12):
This is the Rick Burgess show.
Speaker 4 (48:31):
Looking too much?
Speaker 2 (48:34):
You see heavy Valentine's Day? You mean too rolling out
some of the greatest love songs of all time.
Speaker 6 (48:44):
Such a lot.
Speaker 2 (48:49):
Of folks who struggled and listen to this one.
Speaker 4 (49:01):
It's not worth giant, so don't get my favorite. You
can't tell me it's not worth Tian. You know it's true.
Speaker 13 (49:16):
Everything that.
Speaker 2 (49:19):
Saying.
Speaker 15 (49:20):
I do it for.
Speaker 8 (49:22):
All time.
Speaker 2 (49:24):
All right, So yesterday this is so good.
Speaker 5 (49:27):
Well, yesterday we.
Speaker 2 (49:29):
We had we played a little burgess ball in here,
and and and and Greg has been bringing in these
instant breakfasts from Jimmy Dean and he's not sharing them
with anybody, and so and yesterday he and I we
played burgess ball and we played for his Jimmy Dean breakfast.
(49:49):
Uh So if if I won, I get his Jimmy
Dean's breakfast today, because he's only got one.
Speaker 5 (49:55):
He's not gonna share it.
Speaker 2 (49:56):
If he won, he got some of my protein bars
that he really likes that he's not willing to go
and buy for some reason. And he and admitted he
hoarded fourteen of them for one time. So we have
we I did win yesterday. It was a really good match.
But as most of our lives. Again, I beat baby
brother at whatever we were doing. Okay, and infuriated. You're
(50:18):
getting mad.
Speaker 5 (50:19):
So what I would like now is I want Greg
to go prepare my breakfast, which he's done.
Speaker 2 (50:23):
He's just done, and i'd like and I'd like for
you to act as our waiter and set a table
out here, and I want him to watch me eating. Okay,
all right, okay, Well yet they don't try to see
so we got the wireless up out there. Have you
set our table up?
Speaker 5 (50:37):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (50:37):
All right? So all right, so he's going to set
our table, and Greg, I want you to sit there
and I want you to eat yep, and you're gonna
watch me eat that breakfast. Okay, all right, Greg, get
your chair over because I want you to think to yourself,
you know, hey, I lost, and now now big brother's
got my breakfast. Okay.
Speaker 5 (50:54):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (50:57):
By the way, who dares me to do a Helix
commercial while doing it? Don't set me up?
Speaker 8 (51:10):
Burn your brother?
Speaker 15 (51:11):
Go ahead and go okay, just because he burns you
and burgess ball doesn't mean you need to burn your brother.
Speaker 8 (51:16):
Greg.
Speaker 2 (51:20):
How's our volume? Speedy?
Speaker 5 (51:21):
It's actually pretty good?
Speaker 2 (51:23):
Okay, can you hear it's?
Speaker 13 (51:24):

Speaker 2 (51:24):
Yeah, I think so, Greg.
Speaker 5 (51:25):

it be great? Just like baby brother right here and

So they will customize one, won't they. Greg's sleep on side. Okay,
(51:52):
Greg's right, don't do that? Do they want to know?
Speaker 11 (52:00):
That?

Speaker 2 (52:42):
Have you have you got me up?
Speaker 5 (52:44):
Did you get me like a fork?
Speaker 2 (52:46):
Okay?
Speaker 8 (52:46):
Good?
Speaker 2 (52:47):
He needs napkin? All right? Good? Were you looking forward
to this one?
Speaker 22 (52:52):
I was?
Speaker 2 (52:53):
Let me tell you, I want it all right? All right,
all right? So this one has it has potato was
in it, little hash, it's got it's got scrambled eggs
ham in there, baby brother. I bet you wanted that,
and it's mine.
Speaker 5 (53:13):
It's a big bite, Rick, the really big bid.
Speaker 2 (53:15):
You know what was reminds me of a sunrise in
the morning.
Speaker 8 (53:20):
Why am I uncomfortable?
Speaker 5 (53:22):
I'm very uncomfortable. You can really hear Rick eating a lot?
Speaker 2 (53:25):
Yeah, yeah, oh yeah, good.
Speaker 8 (53:27):
Watch him eat it, Greg, watch him eat it.
Speaker 2 (53:31):
Let me there it's a third bite. Oh, Rick's really
eating heating. You know the burgesses eat fast. If you
ever meet, if you ever meet with the burgess, if
you ever meet with the Burgess, you better get serious
about it or go Greg. I'm gonna tell you what,
well you this is. This is a little more than
what you normally get. Get closer.
Speaker 9 (53:47):
This is like a.
Speaker 2 (53:50):
This is when you really wanted that feels even better.
Get closer, get closer. We can't so we can hear.
Can you smell and smell it even one bye.
Speaker 14 (54:01):
Brother.
Speaker 2 (54:03):
You want to little about baby brother?
Speaker 8 (54:05):
Lady in the tramp style, y'all do it?
Speaker 2 (54:06):
Lady in how does it feel?
Speaker 9 (54:09):
Greg?
Speaker 2 (54:09):
I didn't steal this food? I beat you. You did,
But normally when I was a kid, he would do
that point I'd look away and he grab a corn bread. Really,
that's really.
Speaker 15 (54:18):
Rick?
Speaker 5 (54:18):
Is it what you expected better?
Speaker 2 (54:20):
I will tell you this, These Jimmy Dean instant I mean,
and I wish they were sponsored. I bet.
Speaker 5 (54:24):
I mean, honestly, they're not paying anything for.
Speaker 13 (54:27):
This which.
Speaker 2 (54:29):
All, but now it could really pick up that it's
so easy to make and it really is good, and
we need to get some sort of sponsorship with them,
and maybe if that would happen unlike what Greg was doing.
Course he's be me taking a littlesson right now. But
unlike Greg, if they send us enough of it, then
maybe we could all have something. We would have to do,
things like competitions where you got beat goes again. I
(54:53):
would like to see Speedy and Adler in a contest
and y'all decide what the winter loser gets on shooting basket. Now,
look that that's not really fair Adler has one at
home practices all the time. I rarely get over there,
shit pack of Parliament, and of course i'd still beat him.
Speaker 5 (55:06):
But I mean, you know, Adler, anything you would like
to put up to place pity.
Speaker 2 (55:10):
But it does.
Speaker 8 (55:11):
Pack of Parliaments. This is this is gonna be good
for viewership. We're almost doing our own version of a
muck bang here.
Speaker 2 (55:18):
So this is great. Oh, this is good.
Speaker 17 (55:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (55:20):
People thought that seeing people somebody eat on the air
for years was over and that now it's.
Speaker 2 (55:26):
It's almost like I'm doing a kind of a subtribute
as well. But let me let me say that I'm
doing this just because I beat you.
Speaker 23 (55:32):
This.
Speaker 2 (55:32):
I wouldn't do this. This is not good a good
thing to do. It should you shouldn't eat on camera
and in your micama. But I'm doing it right now
because I want. Yeah, I one, Yeah, tell him how
it tastes, Rick, so he knows, all right, Greg, let
me see if you had one with these potatoes that
yet the potatoes are the potatoes are a nice little ad?
Is that bacon? Is that bacon?
Speaker 4 (55:54):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (55:55):
Any doubt that the wireless mike can't pick up stuff?
Speaker 8 (55:58):
Is look at.
Speaker 2 (56:02):
A little bit of scrambled egg, a little bit of
hash brown good. I bet you wish you had this today.
Speaker 8 (56:11):
Rick, look at him in the eyes while he's doing it,
and I'm so uncomfortable.
Speaker 5 (56:17):
There it is there is there, it is there, it is.
Speaker 2 (56:22):
That was a large amount of food. Wow, Rick, that happened.
Speaker 5 (56:26):
That just happened.
Speaker 2 (56:28):
I mean, I'm trying to teach a lesson. I've tried
to teach him all his life certain things, and and
one thing I had to teach him about then of sharing.
You know what this is a lesson on sharing?
Speaker 5 (56:38):
Is what this is?
Speaker 11 (56:38):
Right?
Speaker 9 (56:40):
Right?
Speaker 2 (56:41):
If you had been sharing that you wouldn't have to
be going there and got beaten in burgess ball and
all that. But you we had that speech about how
we had to bring our own food. And you may
sound like we're going to be like stranded in the
desert if you don't bring your own food, don't.
Speaker 5 (56:54):
Well, let me tell you that when ahead and got
my old let me tell you what we counted on.
Speaker 2 (56:58):
Okay, and we were wrong that all of us on
purpose would share, and we and we mis calculated something.
Speaker 8 (57:06):
We do share.
Speaker 5 (57:06):
What we have is we have three who share, one
who hoards, and and the one who hoards.
Speaker 2 (57:12):
That's all a little lesson, okay, and you hords faces
the poor really good was good.
Speaker 1 (57:18):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 24 (57:23):
I Love him, the man who pointed out that there
is no such thing as boatless wings.
Speaker 1 (57:34):
Rick burches.
Speaker 2 (57:37):
Happy Valentine's Day on a brand new show, I love
you song.
Speaker 13 (57:45):
Come on.
Speaker 2 (57:48):
I want you to know this is me singing to
my Jimmy Dans.
Speaker 8 (57:53):
Go to this show.
Speaker 17 (57:56):
Man, you walk out that doors, Please don't go, Please talk,
please talk.
Speaker 4 (58:14):
Chalk.
Speaker 2 (58:16):
So we have other things to discuss today, and we'll
drop these in throughout. But where when you think about
I'm talking about songs that just shred, I may shred.
I mean you're and I don't mean shred in the
way of guitar shredding, I mean heart shred. Like every
time you hear the song, you're just like man, that one,
(58:38):
that one right there, and we're talking about strictly on
something a love song. We're just like man and I
for some reason, that one always gets me that I
just played. Now those of you watching on YouTube didn't
hear it, but it's it's please don't go from Casey
in the Sunshine Man, I got the hook out there. Yeah,
but what I'm talking about, I don't. That's something about
that song just slays me. I mean, I can't believe it.
Of all the love songs of all time, it's case
(59:00):
see in the Sunshine band that do you remember? That
was the theme for one of our whose who were
the eighth grade. You were in the ninth grade. Of
course I do, and and they just play it over
and over as people walk out. And then the night
we heard it, if you yes, we had. But that
reminds me of that the type of song you're talking about,
the one that that that I think of it the
heartstring when it is what's the cally? Sometimes when oh yeah,
(59:23):
Dan Hill, Yeah that song, that song just the way
he said, I'll play it, come out and break here
in a minute. But the way he said, asked me
if and it took all We never heard from him again.
But no, but that's a killer. He did do one
other song to do it, okay, but and then you know, I.
Speaker 7 (59:47):
My challenge to you is is that we have twenty
segments a day, is that every segment has to have
a love and you can't take a break, okay.
Speaker 16 (59:55):
No, bed.
Speaker 2 (59:57):
So something s the one faithful now some of them,
some of them, some of them when I was a kid,
some of them when I was a kid, and I
was in the room that we had that had a
stereo in it. I don't you know that was that
that room took on all menis records. And what I
would do is I would set up a flashlight and
(01:00:18):
I would cut the lights off and and I get
the song set up and I would be in concert.
And of course every female that you went to school
with that shuned you was in the audience in your
mind right, and they couldn't believe you're a star, you know,
and they realized they missed it checked, you know. But
I remember like not understanding, like I don't I didn't
understand the another heartbreaker in a moving song and Bob
(01:00:43):
seekers we got tonight. Well yeah, but well but I
didn't understand. You know, he's basically just saying, I'm trying
to close the deal. We got this, and that's not
a good message. You know, it wasn't a great message.
And you shouldn't be singing this to your fellow eighth graders,
you know what I mean? And uh right, And so
(01:01:05):
so that one is one can I ask you a question.
I Love You by the Climax blues Man. That's good.
Speaker 5 (01:01:11):
When it was that would make Gary's love songs they
did what it wasn't forever.
Speaker 7 (01:01:16):
What about actors or actresses that cross over into music,
like Patrick Swayze, no.
Speaker 2 (01:01:23):
Whatever, I'm just thinking, she's like the wind.
Speaker 13 (01:01:27):
Are you like that?
Speaker 2 (01:01:29):
You hate it? I don't hate it. I found myself
listening to him like, this is Patrick. I know about this.
It was when I first whenever it came out many
years ago, and they said here's a song by Patrick Swayze,
I this is gonna sucks. It went on. I was like,
is it okay for the Burgess boys to like that?
Speaker 13 (01:01:49):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:01:49):
Yeah, okay, good, No, it's it's okay, secret, it's a secret.
It's okay, okay. You can't put it Thomson. Look, I'm
going to tell you the don't give up on this, Beavy,
you can't. Can I tell you another one that was
another actor that saying, can I tell you one of
those back to just songs that slay and I don't
know the artist's name.
Speaker 5 (01:02:09):
I don't even know his name. What you got you're.
Speaker 2 (01:02:11):
Looking in the morning?
Speaker 6 (01:02:12):
A god doing.
Speaker 25 (01:02:17):
You left in the ring with that closing the door
your wage and you left me just when I needed
you most.
Speaker 5 (01:02:29):
I don't know who that guy is. Yes, you're right,
it is Steven when I need you most.
Speaker 2 (01:02:34):
Randy Van Warmer Stevie Vision was another one. Randy Van Warmer,
I need I don't know. Wish I could say that.
I mean there's something that song is just slaves and
some of some of these are at or you're so
young you don't even know them. Sadly, I do know that, uh,
(01:02:56):
you know it's true.
Speaker 4 (01:02:58):
Everything else I just find.
Speaker 2 (01:02:59):
That I know and you didn't know that.
Speaker 4 (01:03:01):
I did know.
Speaker 8 (01:03:01):
That's yeah. Brian Adams, wasn't that at the end of
robin Hood.
Speaker 15 (01:03:08):
I remember being a kid watching Robinhood Prince of thes Wow,
the witch was so scary in that.
Speaker 2 (01:03:12):
Movie, very scary feel.
Speaker 15 (01:03:15):
I'm watching the movie with my parents and then Brian
Adams shows up at the end of my Dad's like,
what's Brian Adams doing here with Lancelot?
Speaker 2 (01:03:21):
You're right, whatever, this is that thing that you've talked about. Okay,
there's two things that ruin the song for me, and
they doesn't mean the songs bad.
Speaker 11 (01:03:30):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:03:31):
When I was in just doing music radio. I played
them too much, and if we ever then covered it
in any band, you had to cover Heaven by Brian
Adams for proms, and it made me get tired of it.
Everything I do I never got tired of to your point, Adler,
but Heaven I did. I don't know why, but I did.
And of course line Al Richie Steal three times a lady.
(01:03:53):
You know he had he had some doozies. Yeah.
Speaker 19 (01:03:56):
Uh so.
Speaker 7 (01:03:57):
One of Terry's favorite movies is Bodyguard and Whitney Houston.
I will always And we were listening to Whitney the
other day and and her voice and how beautiful her
voice was, and then we started talking me how breaking
it is, how how it is for her breaking I.
Speaker 15 (01:04:13):
Listened to I listened to the Dolly Parton version with
Ruby in the car and she'll sing along and my
heart just breaks out a stoplight.
Speaker 8 (01:04:19):
I'm like, nobody, look at me, My goodness.
Speaker 2 (01:04:22):
Listening to the Dolly Partner. You're like three people that
do that.
Speaker 8 (01:04:26):
It's so good.
Speaker 6 (01:04:27):
No, it is.
Speaker 22 (01:04:30):
You.
Speaker 5 (01:04:30):
How do you do you like your spoken part in there?
Speaker 2 (01:04:33):
That's my favorite part?
Speaker 16 (01:04:34):
I knew it?
Speaker 2 (01:04:35):
What about cod.
Speaker 8 (01:04:38):
What about nine to five? I wish you happiness?
Speaker 5 (01:04:41):
What about what about Macary and my Dolly part?
Speaker 2 (01:04:46):
There was? What about Jeffrey Osborne? I think just once,
just once?
Speaker 8 (01:04:53):
What's what were those words you just said review?
Speaker 5 (01:04:55):
I don't remember.
Speaker 2 (01:04:57):
Did you'll like, lady, don't be dang in that? I
don't love you, baby, I do. It's not really a ballad, man,
it's not good. There's there's a buzz cuts speaking of
lady late when you I'm smar.
Speaker 5 (01:05:15):
That's almost so rocky you today. That's a good one.
Speaker 2 (01:05:21):
Not really a ballad.
Speaker 5 (01:05:22):
You don't think that's about?
Speaker 2 (01:05:23):
Not really okay, it's a little more.
Speaker 5 (01:05:26):
How about how about how about hard rock ballads?
Speaker 2 (01:05:29):
Like I Remember you? Everybody?
Speaker 5 (01:05:32):
I Remember you was a great one.
Speaker 2 (01:05:33):
It's a good one. Remember you. That's a good that one,
especially when you think when he got when he takes,
when he goes up a step, what about when he
decides to go up a step addler? I mean speaking
that language now, I love a key change.
Speaker 5 (01:05:49):
But did you did you think he was done the
first time you ever heard it?
Speaker 18 (01:05:52):
Then?
Speaker 5 (01:05:52):
Also you're like, whoa wait a minute, yeah, because he's
already singing.
Speaker 2 (01:05:56):
In an incredible climb that ladder. Yeah, he climbs it
up there, but don't do that rial coach your voice.
Every hard rock man had to have a ballot, of course. Yeah,
that pushed him to the top of the chart. Don't
know what you got till it's gone. Where you do? Yeah,
especially the early stuff. Keep on Loving You, Yeah, I
(01:06:19):
was wondering about that. That album really from beginning to
finish and really keep on Loving You. I'm good with
I can't fight this feeling. I can't accept it. It's
not as good.
Speaker 5 (01:06:28):
I don't like it.
Speaker 8 (01:06:29):
What about this love by Pantera?
Speaker 2 (01:06:31):
That's good, by the way, so beautiful, a song that
will make you look out the window, and it's it's
very brief, it's not very long. Chicago Color color me,
Color my world? How does that color my.
Speaker 8 (01:06:45):
That's right? I love Chicago.
Speaker 2 (01:06:47):
I needed to give that that But that that guitar,
I mean, it's the guitar that piano, the chords and
the guy who singing, the guy who actually shot himself.
Speaker 8 (01:06:59):
Yeah, accidentally trying to be cute.
Speaker 5 (01:07:04):
Where do y'all go for?
Speaker 2 (01:07:06):
We did not sleep, depraved, partying too hard, playing with
a gun.
Speaker 8 (01:07:10):
Oh that doesn't mix.
Speaker 2 (01:07:12):
That does not mix, doesn't it? Where do y'all land
on the like all for ones wich I swear and
all that. Y'all that any of it. I don't like
any of that. We're brothers.
Speaker 16 (01:07:22):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (01:07:22):
I'm just wondering. I mean, so, y'all are like eighties
only and and that's it. We don't like a dream now.
None of that moves me though, I'm not moved by it.
What about like baby Got Back?
Speaker 1 (01:07:34):
No, comparently like my kiss come on, this is the
Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 16 (01:07:57):
Day getting.
Speaker 8 (01:08:04):
The text line is just.
Speaker 14 (01:08:07):
Wait.
Speaker 2 (01:08:09):
No, I did this for Speedy because I know Speedy.
Speaker 5 (01:08:11):
This is I gotta play some songs that like Speedy
would like to I picture.
Speaker 2 (01:08:16):
Yeah, you thought this was speedy.
Speaker 5 (01:08:18):
I thought this was for Speedy. That being great, y'all
want balance?
Speaker 4 (01:08:21):
This is a ballad?
Speaker 2 (01:08:23):
You just wait, Marges. I like the organ speed. Did
you just picked to force him? Tender love? Good song, can.
Speaker 17 (01:08:38):
Dunk?
Speaker 2 (01:08:45):
Not my first pick, but not bad, not bad. I know,
I know you still got to pot it up. I
want you more. Yeah, that's what man. People are saying.
Maybe come back by player coming back not really a
ballad major the song good song?
Speaker 5 (01:09:06):
Yeah, by the way, almost Paradise is not Brian Adams.
Speaker 2 (01:09:10):
That is Mike from lover Boy, which his name the
leader man, Mike Reno and the Boys and Ann Wilson.
Speaker 5 (01:09:18):
Why don't you just not participate and I can go here?
Speaker 2 (01:09:20):
Yeah. Ann Wilson doesn't get I'm talking about in our
circles credit one of the best rock female singers of
all time. Well, gregularly were fine. I've got no problem
with that. Has nothing new with Valentine's Day, No it doesn't.
But well the fact that she was in with Almost
Paradise with Mike Reno, that that's not Brian Adams, just
just a little correct. Brian Adams Trivia was co writer
(01:09:41):
on war Machine by Kiss that was on the nineteen
eighty eighty one Creatures of the Last album with make Up.
Speaker 5 (01:09:49):
Do you hear getting his right again?
Speaker 2 (01:09:52):
Tone?
Speaker 8 (01:09:52):
Do you hear?
Speaker 2 (01:09:53):
Brian Adams co wrote war Machine, which is a really
good song. It's a great song with Gene Simmons. So
Tanie pop Smoke did not know Brian names was involved.
Ull Always Be My Baby, Mariah Carey, Mike Okay, so
uh any female ballads you like?
Speaker 9 (01:10:11):
Right?
Speaker 5 (01:10:12):
Not really, I don't.
Speaker 2 (01:10:14):
I don't know why.
Speaker 5 (01:10:15):
I'm sure could. I can't make you love me. Oh no, No,
that is a good one. That's a great one. That's
a good one. That is we just talked about Whitney.
Is that in the category. Yeah, Whitney Houston would be one.
What about some stuff?
Speaker 2 (01:10:30):
Where are you? I don't know. None of that moved
me when it when I was, you know, heartbroken? What
what about the sheriff? Oh that's a good one, sheriff
to play that with you? I'm with you?
Speaker 5 (01:10:50):
Hey, what what about Brian McKnight back at one?
Speaker 8 (01:10:52):
Yeah, it's a dream come true.
Speaker 7 (01:10:54):
That's hey, that's our time. Look at me, Terry Wilburn.
You know you're gonna get met yet you're canna be.
Speaker 2 (01:10:58):
That's fine.
Speaker 5 (01:10:59):
That can be all some.
Speaker 2 (01:11:00):
I'm gonna count the ways I love you then and
then I gotta keep count because I gotta go back
to one, because it's just keeps on going. I got you, Sherry,
and our songs are of course wonderful tonight Barrett Clapton,
because that led to her falling in love with me,
that's true and always in forever, he would, Oh, yeah.
Speaker 8 (01:11:18):
Rick, I think there's a female ballad you might like.
I Try by Macy Gray.
Speaker 2 (01:11:23):
You like it's not a ballad. I love that song.
I like Macy Gray. I like that song. It's not
about it's not a ballad.
Speaker 5 (01:11:32):
It's not a ballads.
Speaker 2 (01:11:37):
I'll tell you.
Speaker 5 (01:11:37):
I like catalog.
Speaker 8 (01:11:43):
Okay, all right, I'm gonna stop Tennessee whiskey.
Speaker 2 (01:11:46):
Is that a ballad? Is that a ballad?
Speaker 16 (01:11:48):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (01:11:49):
It's a great song.
Speaker 8 (01:11:50):
Yeah, you're it's more complimentary than like, Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:11:54):
Maybe not. Bon Jovi had some good ones. She did
I'll be there for you. Correct they did. They's a band.
Speaker 5 (01:12:01):
It is a band. Greg I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (01:12:02):
That's even though he got all the money. That's good.
Speaker 8 (01:12:06):
Wrecking ball Miley Cyrus.
Speaker 5 (01:12:08):
Yeah, Mike off again. Did you see this? Breaking news?
And nobody know if it's straight up or not.
Speaker 2 (01:12:15):
Ukraine is claiming, uh, Russian drone hits Chernobyl power plant,
the shelter that was protecting the world from radiation. They
claim it's damaged by the Russians drone attack. The Russians
are saying, we didn't do that. Uh, They're just trying
to be drama queens because they know that Trump's in
(01:12:36):
and Americans are demanding more accountability there and Americans are
just be honest, are kind of losing the commitments to
this because we're like, well are we doing is this
doing any good? And why are we the only ones
seemed to be footing the bill when this is a
European country. Why why aren't they helping? Which is a
legitimate question.
Speaker 8 (01:12:56):
Timing of it seems odd, it does.
Speaker 2 (01:12:58):
Moscow is is denying this. Zelenski and the Ukrainians are
claiming to show footage that was stamped at two h
two am their local time, and they're claiming the dome
that protects the world that sounds being a little dramatic
from radiation has been damaged by the Russians and that
(01:13:21):
the Russians are careless, they don't care. The Russians are
saying the Ukrainians are being dramatic. We don't really know,
do it. The International Atomic Energy Agency reported an explosion
at the site and says they're monitoring the plant, but
they said the radiation levels have not increased and remained stable.
(01:13:42):
I think that's an important add to the story because
you read the headline, you know, oh my goodness, here
we go again.
Speaker 15 (01:13:48):
Yeah, as Trump is getting these negotiations to come together,
you see that Ukraine.
Speaker 8 (01:13:57):
Doesn't have nearly the leverage.
Speaker 5 (01:13:59):
No, they don't.
Speaker 15 (01:14:00):
Russia controls about twenty percent of Ukraine. Now, Ukraine controls
about five hundred square miles of Russia.
Speaker 8 (01:14:07):
It's not a lot. Russia's big, and so was this
a leverage move?
Speaker 2 (01:14:13):
I don't know.
Speaker 8 (01:14:14):
Well, timing seems odd considering these talks are coming together.
Speaker 2 (01:14:17):
Well when you look at this bunch, so you find
yourself in a buying I don't fully trust Zelenski. Sorry,
I don't never have, but I certainly don't trust my scout.
Speaker 5 (01:14:26):
Sure, So I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:14:28):
I don't know. I don't know what to do in
this situation. But I think with the Trump administration, we
find ourselves in a much better position to be less
wasteful and maybe a little more transparent. And let's get
we all just want to know what's going on. Well,
it's kind of funny, you said, just just throwing money
(01:14:48):
at throwing going what's it doing?
Speaker 7 (01:14:50):
Yeah, because look, let's just be honest. With Doe jams
and everything that they're uncovering. We all were, you know,
skeptical on really what the government was doing and all that.
Now we're uncovering all this year, Like okay, we don't
really know what's going on. I mean, have no idea.
Speaker 2 (01:15:06):
It's just out of control mess, nothing more.
Speaker 8 (01:15:09):
A lot of people dying, not a lot getting done.
Speaker 5 (01:15:11):
Yeah did you hear that?
Speaker 2 (01:15:14):
Or just an almost winding Trump when he said a
lot of people dying, he almost.
Speaker 8 (01:15:18):
Did, I want people to stop dying.
Speaker 2 (01:15:21):
That wasn't good, beautiful, that was beautiful people that we're
both bad, We're both terrible.
Speaker 8 (01:15:28):
Were I gotta get back into it. I gotta find
my key word story.
Speaker 2 (01:15:32):
That's that's what he always I gotta tell you. So
you sound like the Godfather, But if you're Don Corleone's
here is that cute. Zelenski is insisting that Russia, and
this is where it sounds just a little propaganda. Russia
is the only country in the world that attack set sites,
occupies nuclear power plants, and wages war without any regard
(01:15:55):
for the consequences. Uh and and says that this is
that they're the uh a terrorist threat to the entire
world and possible possible. Yeah you can't trust well, no
you can't. I mean, this is the weird place you
find yourself and you're like, no, who am I trusting this? Well,
you could try as a Lensky. Yeah, okay, I guess
what's what Sean Penn wants me to do. Well, you
(01:16:17):
can't trust, you know, Russia.
Speaker 8 (01:16:20):
A snake or a bear?
Speaker 2 (01:16:21):
Who do you trust? Yeah, exactly, and pick your poison.
But when you're dealing with world affairs, you you find
yourself in that position a lot. And we've we've had
to do that throughout our entire history. So we'll see,
we'll see how it goes. We'll come back and see
if we can't make maybe a birthday dream come true. Well,
(01:16:42):
you come back at the top of the hour. Somebody
put my eyes of Georgia up there. Never remind me.
I thought it was miles of Georgia when I would
kidding mis of Georgia, Yeah, instead of mines.
Speaker 5 (01:16:52):
And that's funny. Where you on every time you go away?
Speaker 8 (01:16:58):
Is that a ballid?
Speaker 2 (01:17:00):
Seventy hours?
Speaker 1 (01:17:02):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. The Fox Entertainments Welcome
you to the Rick Burgers Show.
Speaker 18 (01:17:23):
Smug not about tu. That's my sound of strangers. Will
the Spottles my friends remember when we.

that BT today.
Speaker 20 (01:18:00):
You want to.
Speaker 4 (01:18:03):

Speaker 2 (01:18:10):
So we are rolling through some of the greatest love
songs of the music era. So as we start the hour,
Speedy Greg Adler of the Gang all here, and we'll
continue that throughout the show today. But a little special
email came in. A little special email came in, and
(01:18:33):
this is from one of our our listeners. Here's how
it starts. My name is Jill, guess what.
Speaker 8 (01:18:41):
Guess what?
Speaker 2 (01:18:42):
My birthday is Friday, February fourteenth, and then she says
she wanted this in Gary's voice. Hey, you can't even
have a birthday well out sharing it with a holiday,
So says says, I have two birthday wishes to try.
She's trying to get her birthday and separated from Valentine's
yea a little bit. The first one is I would
like a shout out from the whole gang. Oh, so
(01:19:05):
every one of you individually say happy birthday to Jill.
Speaker 5 (01:19:07):
Okay, Happy birthday, Jill hey, he.
Speaker 8 (01:19:10):
Happy birthday, Jill Hey, Happy birthday Jillian.
Speaker 5 (01:19:13):
No, Happy birthday Jill.
Speaker 2 (01:19:15):
All right, So here comes number two he I would
like the awesome will of bits, bundles and bucks to
be spun for me on my birthday. If I'm fortunate enough,
my spend was to land on one of the money spots.
Don't sweat it, y'all can take the money out of
(01:19:35):
next month's budget since the will has already been generous
this month.
Speaker 5 (01:19:39):
Okay, all right.
Speaker 2 (01:19:41):
With the money that I may win, I would buy
myself the following things. Oh, she loves the things, field
of Greens, buzzbox coffee, Oh, where We're going? Won my
cross necklace from Miit Lindelle, and of course some rick
Burgess show mer.
Speaker 13 (01:20:00):
Uh huh.
Speaker 5 (01:20:01):
Tell Adler that if I win, he has to buy
Speedy lunch.
Speaker 2 (01:20:06):
Yeah, let's go, Jill. And if I don't win, he
has to take Greg and go to Greg's house and
help Greg take down his Christmas trip. Y see, we
all win there, Idler. Yeah, that's a winner, says I'm
playing by Speedy's rules.
Speaker 11 (01:20:21):
There you go.
Speaker 2 (01:20:22):
That's right, Rick, I would like for you to be
the one to spind the wheel since you played the
little ball. Okay, all right. And then the final thing
in the email, it's will to me spin it. Okay,
and I hope you guys have a wonderful Valentine's Day
with your beautiful brides.
Speaker 15 (01:20:37):
We will thank you from If Jill's, did she say
she was married or boyfriend or anything like that?
Speaker 5 (01:20:45):
What are you doing?
Speaker 2 (01:20:45):
Why are you trying to down her here?
Speaker 15 (01:20:47):
If Jill's, If Jill, If anybody knows Jill loves Jill,
her half birthday is August fourteenth. If you're a dude
in her life and you want to make her feel great,
say hey, I know you're birthdays on Valentine's Day probably
gets overshadowed a little bit.
Speaker 8 (01:21:03):
Guess what, I love you. I'm thinking about you at
twenty four seven, three city five of the year.
Speaker 5 (01:21:08):
So you just made this whole thing weird.
Speaker 8 (01:21:10):
Now, I mean girls like half birthdays, half birthdays girls.
Speaker 2 (01:21:15):
I've never even heard of them. I just care about that.
Say she's on the line, I got her on the
lone Jill.
Speaker 5 (01:21:22):
Hey weird you are?
Speaker 2 (01:21:23):
Hey, hey Jill weird? Yeah? Hey yeah, So Jill, Sorry
about Adam making it weird there at the end. I
thought we were really humming along.
Speaker 8 (01:21:29):
That that's helpful for men.
Speaker 2 (01:21:32):
So so you're trying to help me. So, Jill, are
you married.
Speaker 27 (01:21:36):
I am happily married.
Speaker 8 (01:21:38):
Okay, I said, hey, husband, email me, I got a
super tip for you.
Speaker 2 (01:21:48):
They say, no more. Well, Jill, we are going to
uh make this wish come true. Your email was very
well done. Uh and so and I know your husband
is hoping that you win too, because that'll take a
little pressure off him today trying to balance these two things.
All right, so I'm going to you. You've already said
(01:22:09):
in the email it's will to me, but we'll get
you to do it again. All right, Speedy is going
to uh he's lit up the wheel. I will spin it, uh,
and we will make this dream come true, taking the
birthday part of today and elevating it, or as Adam
would say, halfing it. Okay, okay, So anyway, so here
(01:22:30):
here we go, Jill. So thank you so much for
your email. Are you ready?
Speaker 13 (01:22:34):
I'm ready?
Speaker 5 (01:22:35):
All right.
Speaker 2 (01:22:35):
So in a minute, I'm gonna you're gonna say it's
will to me, spin it and then I'll spend it. Okay,
here we go, I'm moving. Okay, here we go, Here
we go, Here we go. All right, So he's walking over.
He is headed to the wheel, right behind his baby brother,
who is the breakfast for whenever, whenever you're ready said,
it's will to me. Spin, then spin it, it's will
(01:22:59):
to me it all right, there it goes all right?
You follow your follow three was great, really Greg, good
spin with Greg scratching his head right there like he's
disgusted with it all. Don't touch it, spin right there,
let it be free will right?
Speaker 11 (01:23:16):
All right?
Speaker 2 (01:23:16):
So let's see here we go all right for jill birthday.
Here it's gonna be close. Well, you were, you were,
I mean you were just man. If we had a
little more on that, we would have got to one
thousand dollars or you could have had to me spend
the hits and almost landed on the old DJ picture

Speaker 2 (01:25:03):
Pretty, did it? Disappointed?
Speaker 8 (01:25:04):
But that's fine.
Speaker 2 (01:25:05):
She wanted money so bad, and the fact that she
got to spend I think is great.
Speaker 5 (01:25:09):
Yeah, you know, Adler gave her some greater ef.
Speaker 8 (01:25:12):
Husband.
Speaker 2 (01:25:12):

Speaker 5 (01:25:27):

didn't you handle kind of adler you? You did J
as well?
Speaker 2 (01:25:33):
It was a different tone if you're if you're throwing
a little love song, oh yeah, yeah, you drop your
if you were, if you know not if your upbeat,
you know, when you're walking something that should have got
the little temple to it's different.
Speaker 7 (01:25:45):
On the other Yeah, Greg brought up another one that
I think you'll like Casey and Jojo all my life.
Speaker 2 (01:25:52):

Speaker 1 (01:26:27):

Speaker 4 (01:26:42):
We got sea the sound of boring name.
Speaker 2 (01:26:48):
When we whisper, and.
Speaker 14 (01:26:50):

Speaker 2 (01:26:53):
All this is crib it came my name. All right,
we're back a little power ballad for Valentine's Day. There
I was in need of one. All right, We've got
a lot to cover on the program today. It's interesting
(01:27:16):
that the I'm sorry, I mean that's what they think

Speaker 9 (01:27:46):

think we're gonna play love song DJ the entire way
and just and and just left. But I have a
tough time listening to the song all the way through.
Sometimes I'll get bard with it about two minutes in
and okay, what's next?
Speaker 8 (01:28:15):
That that's called ad HD, buddy?
Speaker 23 (01:28:17):
Oh is it?
Speaker 2 (01:28:18):
Well, I'm gonna make you proud in the power ballads.
You brought it to the table. Thank you. You can't
leave out just between you and me. By April one,
Oh my.
Speaker 5 (01:28:27):
Goodness, I'll play that.
Speaker 11 (01:28:28):
That is good.
Speaker 2 (01:28:29):
That's a good one. That was Lasa and I when
we were like in junior high or well, it's today
a nightmare for you aller with all this copyright stuff.
Speaker 8 (01:28:35):
It's hard.
Speaker 23 (01:28:36):
Uh.
Speaker 8 (01:28:36):
We blew it out of the water with grease, So
it's kind of fine.
Speaker 2 (01:28:39):
Nobody's gonna see the archive today.
Speaker 5 (01:28:43):
So you and Lisa loved Watch?
Speaker 2 (01:28:44):
Yeah, that was when we danced at the homecoming dance
to that.
Speaker 5 (01:28:47):
You want to talk to Lisa, You want to talk
to her?
Speaker 2 (01:28:49):
Yeah, she's probably watching not too much speaking of that.
I got to adding up today and I don't think
anybody in the room is gonna be close to me
on this not counting married, just as celebrating Valentine's Day
for me and Lisa today forty third.
Speaker 5 (01:29:06):
Forty third Valentine's Day, that you'll been a couple.
Speaker 2 (01:29:08):
Yep, it's twenty seven for Terry huh, and nowhere near
forty three for Cherry and me. It would be we
started thinking about that. I know you are saying, how
lucky can she be? I know it's going through you, man.
So for Scherry and me, this would be our thirtieth
Valentine because I think that the because the six months
(01:29:29):
we dated before we got engaged. I think it started
in June. So I think I missed Valentine's Day.
Speaker 8 (01:29:34):
Oh she only knew you before, six months before we
all got engaged addicts.
Speaker 7 (01:29:37):
Okay, yeah, thank you, Terry said, I don't know if
you remember twenty seven years ago today we stayed up
all night talking. You drove me home, got my number
and called me as soon as you got back to
your party because you thought I'd given you the wrong number.
Speaker 2 (01:29:51):
Well, this was before cell phones. I had to wait
that I got back. I've been together every.
Speaker 8 (01:30:01):
I think I met like between twelve and fifteen. Somewhere
there may be fourteen.
Speaker 2 (01:30:06):
How about that youngster.
Speaker 15 (01:30:08):
Yeah, we're stepped it up this year. Got some some
flowers from Costco.
Speaker 2 (01:30:12):
All right, you know that's got a bunch of that's
you know, that's a step up from food City, that's true,
No trader, straight up, step up from a cracker barrel.
Speaker 5 (01:30:22):
You know it is a country story. And the rest
of you made that so clear.
Speaker 2 (01:30:26):
Did y'all leave a card for your wives on the counter?
Speaker 5 (01:30:28):
I did good, Greg, a little bit. I think so
I wrote something special legal path.
Speaker 2 (01:30:34):
I wrote something on the back of a power bill.
Speaker 5 (01:30:36):
I got a paper time.
Speaker 8 (01:30:40):
Greg, I lofed at your power bill comment.
Speaker 5 (01:30:46):
It's always a utility, the water, a bit of advice,
you know.
Speaker 7 (01:30:52):
The new card now is just a text message that yeah,
that's whatever. You need to step it up, more than
a text message.
Speaker 8 (01:30:58):
No, yeah, you can't do that.
Speaker 2 (01:31:00):
I bought a card. I bought a card.
Speaker 8 (01:31:02):
I woke up too late to fill it or do anything.
So I'm gonna be doing that today.
Speaker 2 (01:31:07):
Get your layer.
Speaker 8 (01:31:07):
It's not gonna mean anything.
Speaker 2 (01:31:09):
Normally, today I would be standing in line with the
rest of the losers, trying to pick what was left,
that's what. But this year I actually thought, I about
three days out. I almost bought one yesterday. Parking lot
too full. If you're head of the store to standing
there with what Greg calls losers, I'm sorry. I mean
we waited till the last day.
Speaker 16 (01:31:26):
This was me.
Speaker 2 (01:31:27):
I went, okay, up real early, coming home, I really
need to get it right now, And I went I
drew hard, Yeah, you know what, Hey, why do we
need cards when we got text there you go, oh
that's good, okay, all right, So so the so.
Speaker 5 (01:31:50):
What You're gonna play that song?
Speaker 9 (01:31:52):
Right?
Speaker 2 (01:31:52):
I don't you know? I was somebody was thinking, even
though I would love to walk that one, you know,
back in the DJ days, because I love it. Somebody
was saying that to that we should all, you know,
those of us at Dijo, we should walk one and
then like we're on the air trying to win over
you know, it's now our wives and like dedicate one
to them. Uh huh So, I mean I almost have
to do wonderful not on that, right, since that's the song,
(01:32:13):
since that's the song that I want her over one.
I mean that was oh man, let me tell you something.
When I did the share read me the News and
not she has openedly admitted that was the turning point.
Do we have that somewhere there's the only one that
charted her was the Crown Air Freshener.
Speaker 11 (01:32:30):
Yeah m hm.
Speaker 5 (01:32:35):
I mean even though you know and like everything that
pad to you, you don't have to lean every time
every time that we.
Speaker 2 (01:32:40):
Uh you know that we hear this song, now we
remember that, not this one. If I played this one,
this will really that's actually a song about not good stuff,
not good.
Speaker 7 (01:32:56):
I've realized that as I was growing up, I really
didn't listen to the lyrics. Yeah, I learned a lot
of lyrics in the voice here when too went too
Are you ready Kevin Caliway won't now, I don't know
about that.
Speaker 2 (01:33:10):
Everybody's got to hear Kevin call I never heard you
dj on there, did you? And when you were DJ
and walking songs was over right?
Speaker 13 (01:33:16):
Ya?
Speaker 18 (01:33:17):
No?
Speaker 8 (01:33:17):
I walked them every single one I could, okay, And
I did cheat a little.
Speaker 13 (01:33:20):
Bit in that.
Speaker 15 (01:33:21):
In the software program we had you could actually mark
where say a signature riff. I didn't count you mark
when the lyrics started, and boy, it made you sound
good because you're like, I know I have ten seconds.
I'm gonna stop right there and then it's gonna be like, yeah,
you know something.
Speaker 2 (01:33:36):
But no, that's cheating. When when when, when speeding, how
were coming? You had to feel it. You had to
know what you did.
Speaker 8 (01:33:42):
Here's an element of cheating, but there's an element of feeling.
Speaker 2 (01:33:44):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (01:33:45):
That's how That's how I lived my entire life. You
know that that sounded weird?
Speaker 2 (01:33:52):
W abs Rick Birdess in Night Chime Valentine's Evening to
Night across America and send it went out to the
Love Purge and where you are tonight, James Man says,
is going to be a cold one. Send This went
out to share it from me to you.
Speaker 8 (01:34:10):

Speaker 2 (01:34:15):

love it's how you do it now.
Speaker 5 (01:34:19):

Speaker 2 (01:34:22):
We talked to Gary supposedly next night we we do. Hey,
I'm headed up to Turkey thing. I know.
Speaker 5 (01:34:27):
I did say when you have a good sell text me.
Speaker 2 (01:34:31):
Well, that's you know now, who knows? Who knows? I
think periodically that felt we're gonna walk love songs periodically
do that, Okay, but I got have one. Kevin calliaway too.
It's been a long time. It was the last time
you are DJs. I'm out. Yeah, but no, I had
you on w x y Z. You just would never
come in for you shit too lazy. That was the
(01:34:51):
pretend radio schas you watch radio station. I had a
pretend radio station when I.
Speaker 5 (01:34:56):
Was a little boy.
Speaker 2 (01:34:56):
Yeah, he had me an afternoon shot and I called
it w x y Z and I would make everybody
in neighborhood had to come to a shift. And sometimes
Greg never what you're out for a shift?
Speaker 5 (01:35:05):
Willie g in n time and that was it would
never work out?
Speaker 18 (01:35:09):
Got it?
Speaker 5 (01:35:10):
You think I didn't have the afternoon extravagans a rocking hole?
Speaker 2 (01:35:15):
How about I was even I would even pretend as
a little boy like I was making appearances places like
remotes and stuff. It's like I knew so much about it.
I created like a straight up real radio stag. When
it was not on the air. When we saw the
movie f M, they couldn't they couldn't get it up
about about the Jays and oh it was really good.
Speaker 5 (01:35:35):

You gotta be ready for the weekend. I mean you
get we got to have the energy with nutrition.
Speaker 2 (01:37:07):
Let's face it, we don't always get the fruits and
veggies in on our diet like we should. It does
not happen as often as it should. Hard to do,
and let's make sure that we are getting the proper nutrition.
Field of Greens solves that problem. One of the best
decisions I've made is to say I'm in on Field
(01:37:28):
of Greens health Wise. It has been a game changer
and it will be for you too. Let me tell you,
it's almost like nutritional armor. The vital organs crave certain
fruits and vegetables, and the doctors and scientists with brick
House nutrition, they handpicked everyone for the benefit that it
has for the body. Improved health means what I don't
(01:37:48):
get sick, I mean hey, and if I do, I
recover pretty quick. My immune system is ready to go.
I'm stronger, I'm healthier, I feel better. It's the nutrition
that the body craves. Why don't you make or You're
getting it by going to Field Offgreens dot com save
twenty percent with our code Big Vox save twenty percent.

bit of old news, which is, I don't know how
to say it, Buffalo Wrapper. If she were to show
up at a horse rental place, do you think they'd
let her own a horse?
Speaker 5 (01:38:41):
I think if the horse had to say in it no,
well I would just tell her.
Speaker 11 (01:38:46):
I'm sorry, man, we have no clients steals.
Speaker 2 (01:38:50):
Yeah, that's that's true. What about new news?
Speaker 11 (01:38:54):
Yeah, okay, I wanted to I know we're not used

way to be sure helping him and and all of
us is that new podcast that just came out to

Bubba history of thirty one years. And then he has
a podcast is starting assume, so certainly do as well.

and I was just singing to myself.
Speaker 7 (01:39:37):
Of course, I was all through going to the TV
side of things, and everybody thinks I was trying to sing.
Speaker 5 (01:39:42):
Now, I was just singing to myself, right, I can't
sing either of us now.
Speaker 16 (01:39:45):

Speaker 13 (01:40:00):
Song.
Speaker 2 (01:40:03):
Well, you know, Tom, I know we all sometimes can
be delusional to some degree. Uh, it's there's more to
it and actually been able to walk it.
Speaker 16 (01:40:11):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (01:40:11):
And it's it's what's laying on top of it as well.
Speaker 16 (01:40:14):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (01:40:15):
But you know what, I'd love to hear you do that,

We're good.
Speaker 13 (01:40:28):

Lake Mitchell okay, and I'd like to hear I'd like

Speaker 4 (01:40:55):
Timing me mad.
Speaker 2 (01:40:59):
He may be about to the one by.
Speaker 8 (01:41:00):
The time, oh total of the time.
Speaker 2 (01:41:04):
I forgot about that. Yeah, that one's a little difference,
a little difference. It's it's all pretty much the same game.
But you just got to feel it.
Speaker 5 (01:41:10):
I don't know Islan's in the stream that way.
Speaker 2 (01:41:14):
I don't know. I don't like it, walk it. I'll try, Yeah,

Speaker 2 (01:41:55):
While going I got thinking about.
Speaker 23 (01:41:58):
I was born Rage jeraldin now and we got two
singers that came from and that was pad Upton and
they d J Johnson.
Speaker 2 (01:42:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 21 (01:42:06):
Pad Upton had a song called I Love You More
Today Than Yesterday.
Speaker 2 (01:42:09):
Oh yeah, Spiral staircase.
Speaker 13 (01:42:11):
Absolutely, and I got another song by Jay Reid, She
got to go Mine.
Speaker 11 (01:42:16):
I got the shout.
Speaker 13 (01:42:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:42:18):
I'm actually listening to that at home the other day,
remembering Jerry.
Speaker 2 (01:42:22):
We continue. Here is Jeff out of Huntsville, one hundred
point three of the river. Jeff, go ahead.
Speaker 11 (01:42:30):
On a scale of one to ten, you are the
woman that I've always dreamed about firefall. What do you think?
Speaker 5 (01:42:35):
You are the woman that I've always dreamed for me?
Speaker 2 (01:42:40):
It's a how about you? Jeff?
Speaker 13 (01:42:42):
You like it?
Speaker 11 (01:42:44):
Thank you? I sung it to one hundred and fifty women,
sang it.
Speaker 2 (01:42:51):
That's really good.
Speaker 8 (01:42:53):
Uh, one hundred and fifty walked away.
Speaker 5 (01:42:55):
There you are, ham On, you got a Valentine story?
Speaker 2 (01:42:59):
Would you do?
Speaker 21 (01:43:00):
I't so had little handbone romantic last night, so it
all started. I had to go ref too soccer games.
That's very romantic. So I get home and I'm about
to get off the exit. I see Walmart. I was like,
let's go get some Let's go get some flowers for
the lovely lady. She know she hates flowers. She's not
a flower lady. Whatever, So I going. Then I start
(01:43:21):
going big. I get the I get the flowers in
the bag with a vase with it.
Speaker 2 (01:43:25):
Oh wow, and from Walmart too, from Walmart.
Speaker 21 (01:43:29):
Very very beautiful. Then I then I decide, Hey, mama
likes Eminem candies, So I go get a big party
sized bag of Eminem candy.
Speaker 11 (01:43:38):
Wow, take it.
Speaker 21 (01:43:39):
Home, take it home with a card. She's in there
scrubbing her face getting ready for bed. That surprised her
more than anything, because we're we're not the Valentine's people.
But it was the most I thought it was. You know,
I went in there with those knee high socks off
some reference soccer. I thought it was the most romantic
night that I thought we could ever have. You know what,
(01:44:00):
I went a bad face in the wall, but it
was still the same way.
Speaker 2 (01:44:03):
Yeah, let me tell you she thought she was a
blessed woman. Here comes my husband and his tube socks
with some with some and he did do the vase
from Walmart and some m and ms and a tattered call.
What else says I love you more than that? By
the way, just on the text line, I did go
to ride a horse at a rental place in Gatlinburg,
(01:44:25):
and this person only weighs two hundred and fifty pounds
and they straight up told me they were not sure
they had a horse big enough to hold me.
Speaker 8 (01:44:31):
Oh they have weight limits.
Speaker 2 (01:44:32):
Yeah, there's no way Dank's gonna run.
Speaker 4 (01:44:34):
Yeah, no way.
Speaker 5 (01:44:35):
Matter of fact, the horse will say, could I just
ride her?
Speaker 27 (01:44:38):
You know it?
Speaker 2 (01:44:41):
Give us a break here, let's take a break. Let's
go to Let's go to Frank, Frank, pel City, Frank.

the guy who wrote it, Johnny Christopher. He said that
he had written that song and Elvis didn't do too
good with it, and he also wrote a little bit
(01:45:09):
of Love but b BJ Thomas and he became he
got he made a lot of money. Then he became
a dare lik on the streets of Atlanta with drugs
and I'll Call and everything else going wrong, and a
bunch of his friends, Chris Jockerson being one of them,
got together and pulled him back in and uh and
he and then he started writing songs again and went
(01:45:30):
on to do well for a while, and then I
don't I don't know what.
Speaker 2 (01:45:33):
I think.
Speaker 9 (01:45:33):
I heard that he went back out there, but yeah,
I met him. That happened to be mine and my
wife's song, and I thought it was wonderful.
Speaker 2 (01:45:40):
Well, that's not the most uplifting story about the songwriter that.
Speaker 5 (01:45:46):
I I did. I did, I did.
Speaker 2 (01:45:52):
I listened, and as I saw.
Speaker 5 (01:45:54):
You looking off, I stopped.
Speaker 8 (01:45:56):
I got to say all the money Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:45:58):

what I'm thinking about. I thought, I saw you watch
an I was like, he's not listening right.

say your husbmand broke the federal law. I think I
don't think you can share boz right, Okay, all right,

So Trump, We've got some Trump updates today. We want
to be sure you're updated on. So this thing with
(01:48:54):
the tariffs, one thing you see the Trump administration doing
is trying to even the score and our dealings around
the world. Meaning it is interesting that you have one
party that seems to let the world treat use any
way they want to, and they're always screaming fair share
at their own citizens, but they never scream fair share
to the rest of the world. So but President Trump
(01:49:17):
is taking this much differently. Here he is announcing that
he said, we're gonna get all the tariffs. This is
gonna be the end of a country charging us enormous
tariffs while we charge nothing, our charged very little. If
they're going to charge these tariffs to us, we're gonna
charge the same to them. And it's all gonna be.
And I love how you say, And I'm doing this
(01:49:39):
all under the pursuit of fairness. So here is a
President Trump talking about that in his own words, and on.
Speaker 10 (01:49:46):
Trade, I have decided, for purposes of fairness that I
will charge a reciprocal tariff meeting whatever countries charged the
United States of America, we will charge them no more,
no less.
Speaker 2 (01:49:59):
In other words words, they.
Speaker 10 (01:50:01):
Charge us at text or tariff, and we charge them
the exact same texts or terriff.
Speaker 4 (01:50:07):
Very simple.
Speaker 10 (01:50:09):
Nobody knows what that number is unless you go by
the individual country.
Speaker 4 (01:50:13):
You can see what it is.
Speaker 28 (01:50:14):
If you go to the individual country and you.
Speaker 2 (01:50:16):
Look at what they're charging us.
Speaker 10 (01:50:19):
In almost all cases they're charging us vastly more than
we charge them. But those days are over.
Speaker 5 (01:50:25):
Nice and he's really doing the yeah to the rest
of the world.
Speaker 2 (01:50:30):
Here's what he's doing, because Adler mentioned this in the
break you know there is he's allowing time for this
to go into effect. And what he's allowing time for,
which is how you use tariffs for the other countries
to go Wait a minute. So whatever we're charging you
or you're going to charge us, it gives them time
to change what they're charging us, because we're gonna We're
gonna the days of like take take automobiles. For instance,
(01:50:54):
the European countries are hammering us on tariffs that are
exorbitent compared to what we charge for American cars going out.
That would be one. He said, whatever your charge for
your cars coming in, we're gonna charge the same thing
for our cars going up.
Speaker 8 (01:51:08):
That's the trend across the globe.
Speaker 15 (01:51:10):
And this was really Trump is really trying to one
protect americansumers and harness the power of American sumers. We
are the most powerful consumers on the planet, American people,
and and we're getting we're getting hammered. And Trump is
actually harnessing that power and trying to protect us with
these tariffs. And it's a great leverage tool, great bargaining chip,
(01:51:31):
and I think he's doing well.
Speaker 7 (01:51:32):
A lot of year won't have been take American cars.
I mean, you don't see four GMC and Chevy rolling
through European countries. They won't to take them. Yeah, we're
taking everything they have.
Speaker 11 (01:51:41):
Ada.
Speaker 5 (01:51:42):
You had them of those steroids shots.
Speaker 2 (01:51:44):
Didn't you.
Speaker 8 (01:51:44):
I'm so jacked up on steroids right now.
Speaker 5 (01:51:46):
I knew could.
Speaker 8 (01:51:47):
I did get to the doctor yesterday and uh, you.
Speaker 2 (01:51:49):
Know, got got a tube of nose. And did you
know at one point you yeah, at one time you
were saying American sumers.
Speaker 5 (01:51:57):
You wouldn't even let it go.
Speaker 2 (01:51:59):
You didn't even have to consumer consumers. Yeah right, I'm
telling them, and you know it's funny trying to drive
a point home. I'll tell you what the amer consumers
are getting.
Speaker 8 (01:52:08):
The Americ consumers. I was actually talking about the Sooners.
Speaker 5 (01:52:14):
But your point is valid. Mister Adler was uh, this
ongoing thing that we're gonna make Canada.
Speaker 2 (01:52:21):
The fifty first state, which is I think he mentioned
Trudeau as governor. Yeah he does, he does, so here
he is. Here's the line when he brings up Trudeau
and listen what he says with Canada.
Speaker 23 (01:52:38):
There was obviously a delay in implementing those tariffs.
Speaker 10 (01:52:42):
I spoke to Governor Trudeau on no mercy candidens and
we'll see what happens.
Speaker 2 (01:52:47):
But it just sets up so good for them.
Speaker 22 (01:52:50):
Look, the people would pay much less tax than they're
paying right now that have perfect military protection. They don't
have any military protection because they essentially because and you
take a look at what's going on out there. You
have Russian ships, you have Chinese ships, you have Chinese ships.
You have a lot of ships out there, and you
know people are in danger. This is a different world today.
(01:53:12):
It's a different world.
Speaker 2 (01:53:14):
So Governor, well, it keeps making the point that Canada,
and look, there's wonderful people there, they cease to exist
without us, So why in the world are we not
They would be better off if they just became part
of our country. They can't survive on their own, and
I think the people there are getting tired of this.
(01:53:37):
But if you can't survive without us, then you're gonna
have to treat us better and and quit demonizing the
very people. My goodness, now I'm about to become Jack
Nicholson and a few good men. I mean, you know,
we protect you, and then you turn around and question,
you know, the very way in which we provide the
peace that you sleep under there it is I just
(01:53:58):
appreciate you to say thank you. So so anyway, so
they're they're working on that. Here's I think we get
this in quick. Here's Elon Musk too, talking about government
waste and how it's tied to inflation.
Speaker 5 (01:54:11):
So here's Elon Musk clarifying that as well.
Speaker 29 (01:54:14):
But with support of the president, we can we can
cut the budget deficit in half from two trillion to one.
And then with deregulation because there's a lot of sort
of regulations.
Speaker 2 (01:54:24):
That don't ultimately serve the public good.
Speaker 8 (01:54:27):
We need to free the builders of America to build.
Speaker 29 (01:54:31):
And if we do that, that means I think can
get the economic growth to be maybe three four percent,
maybe five percent. And that means if you can get
a trillion dollars of economic growth and you can cut
the budget deficit by a trillion between now and next year,
there is no inflation. There's no inflation in twenty six
And if the government is not borrowing as much, it
(01:54:53):
means that interest costs a client. So everyone's the mortgage,
the car payment, their credit card bills, anything.
Speaker 8 (01:54:59):
There's two dead the mouthy payments.
Speaker 29 (01:55:02):
Prop that's a fantastic scenario for the average American.
Speaker 2 (01:55:09):
I mean, imagine.
Speaker 29 (01:55:10):
They're going down the grocery alu and the prices for
when he years the next are the same, and there
all the dead payments dropped.
Speaker 8 (01:55:20):
How great is that for the average American?
Speaker 2 (01:55:22):
So there it is, So you're updated that entire all right,
it was big thick, good point. It is a great point.
Tell me the hour. We'll be right back.
Speaker 1 (01:55:36):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 8 (01:55:49):
Listen up. You know what we say. You gotta find.
Speaker 1 (01:56:03):
Broadcasting from the world. The Rich Burgess Show.
Speaker 2 (01:56:08):
That's right, we're back. Thanks for being with us.
Speaker 8 (01:56:10):
Here we go.
Speaker 2 (01:56:13):
Another hour on another day and rolling to the end
of another week. Happy Valentine's to Day. We've had some
fun with that today and we've been listing some of
the greatest love songs ever written. Just having some fun
with that as we uh as we move on. All right,
(01:56:34):
so the game's here, speedy, Greg and Adler. We've been
covering a lot. We now have the Vox seats filling up,
people coming from all over. We had, we had people
coming in bringing some goodies. Yeah, well we got we
got one guy in the Vox seats and he's one
(01:56:55):
of these food there people. He's come in with some
peppers that he makes and they show enough the real deal.
Speaker 8 (01:57:05):
I said, they're not Carolina Reapers, are they?
Speaker 2 (01:57:07):
He said, yes, yes, he did.
Speaker 5 (01:57:10):
Come on take you're the youngest.
Speaker 2 (01:57:12):
Well, when I heard him talking to you to clear
your son, when I heard him talking to the right,
you realize and one of those kind that you know
it's gonna burn your mouth all day. He goes, no, no,
how bad? Do you just enjoy the ride? Enjoy the ride.
I don't enjoy being in discomfort. The only one you
going to get a piece of white bread and do
it on your tongue. No, no, So if any of
y'all want to try on his peppers, you're welcome to out.
(01:57:34):
It's a pepper sauce. Is the hot sauce you brought
equally as hot or no? It's warm, it's close, I
don't know something, Get it on my hand, get in,
get in my then I'll be blind.
Speaker 8 (01:57:50):
Put in my contacts.
Speaker 5 (01:57:51):
Yeah yeah, or go sit on the toilet. Oh what
in the world?
Speaker 8 (01:57:55):
That's stuff doesn't wash.
Speaker 11 (01:58:00):
Well?
Speaker 2 (01:58:00):
You pay a price for that, you do, even if
you make it through the evening sooner or later the
bellte I don't want.
Speaker 5 (01:58:07):
To struggle when I eat.
Speaker 15 (01:58:08):
If it want to be Valentine's Day, maybe if it
wasn't Valentine's Day, maybe.
Speaker 2 (01:58:13):
I won't sweat up in your forehead.
Speaker 22 (01:58:16):
Right.
Speaker 2 (01:58:16):
It's it's one of those things that you know, there's
there's been a few times where I wasn't sure I
was going to live through a meal. But but you know,
I just on purpose get in a buy and I
don't I don't know.
Speaker 15 (01:58:27):
And I like hot stuff, but I want to eat
food like a really hot soup or a really hot
even like a sandwich with sons.
Speaker 2 (01:58:33):
Of hot sauce on it or spicy taco. Yeah, let's go.
Speaker 8 (01:58:36):
But I just I don't like being in pain for
no reason.
Speaker 5 (01:58:40):
Right, Okay?
Speaker 8 (01:58:41):
Ran out of air, you did?
Speaker 2 (01:58:43):
He trying to finish your sentence could quite get you know,
you know when you think about, you know, this day
and all the wonder that comes with it and all
the love and how precious it is.
Speaker 14 (01:58:54):
So uh.
Speaker 2 (01:58:55):
I just received the Valentine's Day card. Oh no, that
Greg left for my sister in law, his wife, and
she was undernea. She puts underneath she goes, this is
my life. The card says my wife. I knew our
love was strong, but wow, what are you doing in
(01:59:21):
the Wow? But dang wow, Greg, So there is kind
of colorful.
Speaker 8 (01:59:34):
Yeah, it was colorful language.
Speaker 2 (01:59:35):
Yeah, the ways it one. So you look at that
and went, you know what you were that's the one
right there, that's the one that's it was early. I
didn't have to do a lot of skinning.
Speaker 13 (01:59:49):
I was like, there it is.
Speaker 5 (01:59:51):
Yeah, that Greg, Greg found it's hard to find.
Speaker 2 (01:59:55):
It's a series of Valentine's cards that were written from
football coaches from the seventies.
Speaker 5 (02:00:01):
Yeah, yeah, that that.
Speaker 2 (02:00:04):
Well, you know what, you you made your point, didn't you?
Speaker 1 (02:00:06):
Great?
Speaker 5 (02:00:07):
I did you made your point?
Speaker 2 (02:00:09):
Yeah that's strong.
Speaker 5 (02:00:10):
Yeah that's wrong. I mean you thought you you knew that,
you knew you love.
Speaker 2 (02:00:13):
It was strong. But dang u So also that's great.
We also have the words she was thrill. We also
have the word that in the the Vox seats today.
So this couple right here. So she says, the last
(02:00:34):
time I saw she said to me, I met you
thirty years ago when we were DJing. Was it your
high school at Antana? The the Valentine's Dance in Anti? Wow,
how about we used to do? Oh yeah that little
asked her. I don't know if I was there for
that one, but I was. I asked her if you
were there for that, and she said she didn't remember,
(02:00:55):
but she she thought that she did a bunch of
oh we did, yes, So that's thirty years ago.
Speaker 5 (02:01:01):
Wow, Well, welcome back. Remember the third.
Speaker 2 (02:01:03):
Lisa did on our book And they would call her,
oh yeah, and then she would tell us where right,
And you would say, I knew we hired a pretty
good secretary. But no, that's right, I remember that. And
so and then the load in for all that. Oh
that was the whole days and big speakers days. You
got a computer and you can't have any request. Back
(02:01:23):
then you had CDs and case somebody say you have
you got, I swear, and you're like, let me say
the heady, oh yeah, and then I swear it was
a big one. And then we we had no idea
because kids would you know, we were getting to the point.
And plus we didn't listen to a lot of that
(02:01:44):
type of music anyway. So here we came to DJ
and we would order these services and we would have
the songs. Well we knew nothing about them. We knew
nothing about them. And so I remember it might have
been an Onny on it. It might have been you
that people were coming up and they were they would
they were kept for I think it was Halflin, Halfling.
They kept requesting over and over again, sir, mix a lot,
(02:02:05):
and I was I just tooked on my list. I said,
well we got that, we actually have that not not
edited to the I mean the least right, and I
had I had didn't even know. I just said there
and I said, well let's play it for them. I like,
and I mean, you just see teachers, you see teachers
and principals running to the djo like what are y'all doing?
(02:02:25):
They all lost your mind? Oh yeah, and yeah my
so uh so it's just like.
Speaker 5 (02:02:38):
Got in trouble. I got in trouble, so I didn't
didn't know about that.
Speaker 2 (02:02:42):
Yeah, and and and also discovering that the young people, teenagers,
especially if you ever did anything that involved middle school,
they have zero burn factor on songs.
Speaker 5 (02:02:53):
Again, you can just play it over and over and over.
Speaker 2 (02:02:56):
Can you play I swear? And and and so how
many times have we played this?
Speaker 11 (02:03:00):
And that?
Speaker 5 (02:03:00):
Don't care?
Speaker 2 (02:03:01):
You play like one song that maybe we wanted to hear.
It was like a rock song, and they would come
and go, oh, you're gonna place country. First of all,
it's not country, right, but it wasn't dance song, so
you think it was not. That was you the spokesman
with the public and with the talent, right, you were
the wall. He was the gatekeeper. Around Christmas, we were
(02:03:21):
book solid, call them the company Christmas party. You remember,
we've we've done and then get bad and they'd call
me out to work. I had to leave him by hisself.
Speaker 5 (02:03:33):
No, let me tell you how about described wife on
the mic? Let me tell you we we did.
Speaker 2 (02:03:40):
We did company Christmas parties and then people and people
get into that open bar and some bad things class
reunions that man and somebody have the electric slide to.
Speaker 5 (02:03:50):
I know we've told this story before and back on
the Rick and Bubba Show.
Speaker 2 (02:03:54):
And we were all three there and man, somebody, somebody's
wife got in, got in that open bar and was
mad at the company, got a hot mic, got a
hot mic, and buddy, she let the company have it.
And then we were just like, hey, wow, trying to
cut that mic off.
Speaker 5 (02:04:11):
And what was terrible.
Speaker 2 (02:04:12):
There was a ball game going and when the back
rooms and her husband was back there watching the ball game.
He didn't know she got loose and had They had
to run back and say, hey, you better get out here.
Your wife is letting the.
Speaker 28 (02:04:23):
Boss have it.
Speaker 2 (02:04:24):
And care about my husband.
Speaker 8 (02:04:26):
Y'all threat him like he's proper.
Speaker 13 (02:04:30):
And UH were like, oh, you bet paying enough, even
paying the bill, working hours on.
Speaker 2 (02:04:38):
Him, you know, and you were loving it. I was like,
that's director right at the main guy. There's nobody more
power than him. And his face is a little red
run now and he's just sitting there taking it. And
then finally it was you know, you realize probably need
to go and cut that mic down.
Speaker 5 (02:04:55):
Yeah, I've enjoyed it long and then after that it's
just awkward.
Speaker 2 (02:04:59):
I mean, you need you just sit there awkward for
the rest of us out. What about the next day?
Was she sober? He didn't. He didn't. He didn't get
to work there much longer. Well, he's on his way
to the National Wild Turkey Federation Convention and Sports Show
(02:05:21):
at the Gaylord Auckery Land Resort, Gary.
Speaker 5 (02:05:24):
The Bulldozer Man.
Speaker 1 (02:05:25):
Next, this is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 11 (02:05:31):
The preacher man.
Speaker 2 (02:05:32):
Says, it's the end of time and the Mississippi River.
She's a gold drive. The interest is up and the
stock markets down, and you're only getting muggs if.
Speaker 16 (02:05:47):
You go downtown.
Speaker 2 (02:05:50):
Well, you know what that song means. It's garytown. Hey,
I live about in the wood. You see a woman
in the sweeten and me and so Gary is on
his way to the music city. Country Mouse is going
to the city Gary. How are you, buddy?
Speaker 13 (02:06:09):
Hey man? We rolling. I'm telling you we're going up
to the inner state right now?
Speaker 2 (02:06:15):
Are you going up the interstate right now?
Speaker 11 (02:06:18):
Yep?
Speaker 13 (02:06:19):
So what's going on?
Speaker 2 (02:06:20):
Will you?
Speaker 13 (02:06:22):
I won't have to quit playing that love songs?
Speaker 6 (02:06:25):
Why not?
Speaker 2 (02:06:25):
Why garverybody loves it?
Speaker 13 (02:06:27):
Well? I know, but man, hey, I to oh Dan
moch You called me yester morning. He said where are
you at? I said, well, I'm an him late Mitchell.
He said, you're not coming up there, and I said, yeah,
I'm up for tomorrow. And he said, well, I've been
looking for you said, everybody won't know whore yet? I
(02:06:47):
don't know. He done left, got everything fixed for Ashley
up here. So he said, I'm fixing the leave and
go home.
Speaker 5 (02:06:55):
He's not staying at where he can hang out with you.
Speaker 16 (02:06:58):
Now.
Speaker 13 (02:06:59):
You know how he is. You know how he is.
Speaker 2 (02:07:02):
You can't have a motive good now?
Speaker 13 (02:07:05):
Uh huh. He called me again last night. He said, uh,
he said, I heard them love songs yours? Said, you
carefuy I show it or let uh Paddy listen to it?
I said, no, I don't matter. I said, you know
you're gonna be on your own.
Speaker 16 (02:07:22):
What do you mean whatever.
Speaker 13 (02:07:25):
Whatever happens happens.
Speaker 18 (02:07:26):
You know.
Speaker 9 (02:07:29):
I like you.
Speaker 2 (02:07:31):
I mean I can't be respondful for the things I cause, well, you.
Speaker 13 (02:07:35):
Know you know how damn is. He's about as good
as a come. But you know, I think he's gonna
you know, the contest we're gonna do, uh turkey hunting contest.
I think he's uh he said, he may just give
a give me a turkey hunting permit on his place
down there, and he said, long as we didn't bring
(02:07:56):
over six or eight people down there, probably all right?
Speaker 2 (02:08:00):
Gary? Do you have this thing? Is that just turned
out exactly the way we thought this was going?
Speaker 13 (02:08:06):
You have put together what believe that the emails I've
been getting on people won't know how to enter the
contest and hellween on you know what contest is?
Speaker 2 (02:08:20):
Yeah, now you found your way to how I feel. Yeah,
i'd like first know how we're gonna do it?
Speaker 13 (02:08:27):
Well, I don't.
Speaker 16 (02:08:28):
I don't know.
Speaker 13 (02:08:29):
Y'all need to get something rolling because you.
Speaker 18 (02:08:32):
Know we do.
Speaker 13 (02:08:33):
I'm taking about well, you don't want it brought it up?
Speaker 2 (02:08:37):
No idea?
Speaker 1 (02:08:39):
Gary?
Speaker 2 (02:08:39):
Hey, Gary, what you need you need to do is
we need to talk about you know where you're gonna go,
and then we and then we'll have people. Do you
like the idea, Gary, if we read the best letter
of the person who does the best job of convincing
you that they want to hunt with you the person
who sends a video of them doing the best turkey call?
(02:09:01):
What what? What do you think that's good?
Speaker 13 (02:09:03):
I don't know. Why don't you let uh, you know,
let's let's let the audience, you know, figure out what
they want to do.
Speaker 2 (02:09:10):
But yeah, they're always real decisive and really hold together
on one opinion.
Speaker 13 (02:09:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (02:09:15):
Yeah, so he brought up the idea. Yeah, okay, this
was just complete.
Speaker 2 (02:09:21):
Yeah, and you know that he had people calling, so
you go on their place now. Yeah. Here, someone from
the text line says, says, do you realize that your
love songs have had as much impact on women as
your turkey calls have on turkeys?
Speaker 17 (02:09:37):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (02:09:37):
My goodness.
Speaker 13 (02:09:38):
Oh, I'm telling you well, I'm taking you know. And
he said, he text you yesterday morning about how many.
Speaker 2 (02:09:45):
Calls I've gone brain, Yes, he did.
Speaker 13 (02:09:47):
I think I've got you know, I've got a few.
You know, they probably not gonna be over about saving
your sending it to one hundred thousand people come to
bear right, And I tell you right now, I ain't
got no senving me a hundred thousand. I can tell
you that.
Speaker 5 (02:10:00):
Well, we figured that I'd like to know your number.
Speaker 2 (02:10:02):
How many calls are you taking to the National Wild
Turkey Federation Convention in Nashville that probably will roll seventy

Speaker 2 (02:13:44):

Speaker 1 (02:14:27):
This is the Ricken Burger Show.
Speaker 13 (02:14:29):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (02:14:44):

Speaker 6 (02:14:47):
I'm showing love when you.
Speaker 4 (02:14:50):

a few times, make sure they go out so ramatic,
you know, I just sn't be at home. I don't
like to go and do all this. I got a
hundred calls. When they're gone, I'm leaving. I like it.
Shirtless picture of him holding the French Yeah that's not
a good full dog. Yeah good, I missed that one.
He posted it.
Speaker 8 (02:15:49):
I only show stuff that he puts on your public.
Speaker 5 (02:15:52):
You're right, I mean, you're right, it's not like he's
hiding it.
Speaker 8 (02:15:55):
Props for the confidence, the body confidence, you know.
Speaker 2 (02:15:58):
I mean, let's fach it, son out, guns out. Let's
talk about AMAC, the Association of Mature American Citizens. We
all remember the first time that we got our AARP
stuff in the mail Outlert it's coming for you, and
we were like, hey, well look at this, you got discounts.
Then you find out that they're basically a leftist group,
(02:16:19):
and you're like, that's not really the direction I want
my country to go in.
Speaker 5 (02:16:22):
Looks like I can't have nothing.
Speaker 6 (02:16:23):
How you can't even have discounts and stuff that I can't.
Speaker 2 (02:16:26):
But you can with the Association of Mature American Citizens
all the benefits that we want, the discounts with restaurants
and travel and also help with Medicare or Social Security.
But in America's number one conservative magazine, you also have
a lobby that is holding the government accountable from a
(02:16:47):
conservative point of view, their strong voice fighting in Washington
even right now, even holding the Trump administration accountable with
the one hundred Day Tracker and that over two million
members now and if you would like you join, we've
got you set up ready to go. Uh, if you
want to check the first one hundred days in office,
everything that's going on with the Trump administration, Get America's
(02:17:08):
number one conservative magazine. Get all those discounts that come
with it, a five year membership right now forty seven
percent off normally sixty bucks now thirty two. AMAC dot
us slash big vox R. Go to rickburgesshow dot com
right there under the sponsors and you can join the
rest of us with the Association of Mature American Citizens.
(02:17:30):
Some things that addors titled these things I didn't think
I'd see on social media. And then we have a well,
I don't know we can play that video clip we have,
I really can. I guess we could talk about it.
But anyway, so number one, everything that's going on with
the Luca. How do we say his name?
Speaker 5 (02:17:49):
Don't don't you logan the great Luca.
Speaker 2 (02:17:53):
My name is Luca. I used to play for the MAVs.
So he's he's been traded by the MAVs and the fans.
Boo and chant boo to the owner Jim Jim, the
general managers who put the trade together.
Speaker 8 (02:18:08):
Yes, Nico Harrison is the GM for the Dallas.
Speaker 15 (02:18:12):
Nico must go Nico must go n There are fans
that are sneaking into the games with fire Nico's shirts
on and getting.
Speaker 8 (02:18:22):
Then subsequently escorted out.
Speaker 15 (02:18:24):
This guy actually got in the jumbo tron and just
mouthed the words fire Nico, and he was kicked out.
Speaker 2 (02:18:32):
It's after this couple, this couple of ladies fire Nico.
He really did.
Speaker 4 (02:18:41):
He waited.
Speaker 2 (02:18:42):
It was a good setup.
Speaker 8 (02:18:43):
They took him out and they escorted him out here.
Speaker 15 (02:18:45):
He is here, He's actually been allowed to return to
games and people are taking pictures with him.
Speaker 8 (02:18:50):
But here's large getting escorted out.
Speaker 11 (02:18:53):
There you go.
Speaker 2 (02:18:53):
So I'm assuming they break some game day policy. I mean,
why can't you out then? It seems a little much America.
Speaker 4 (02:19:01):
It seems.
Speaker 13 (02:19:02):
America.
Speaker 8 (02:19:05):
Any behavior they deem not okay, I'm sure it's on
there right.
Speaker 2 (02:19:09):
What did they get in the trade? I don't know
nothing about basketball.
Speaker 8 (02:19:12):
They got a d and he's older and he literally
hurt he played for Has he been back since that injury.
Speaker 5 (02:19:18):
No, he's out for a little bit long.
Speaker 15 (02:19:20):
But it's like he was going too hard in his
very first game for the MAVs, like he wanted to
prove a point or something was going lights out and
he took a weird step. It was a non contact
injury and he I guess he hasn't been back since.
Speaker 5 (02:19:31):
And you're saying what you didn't think you would see
on social media?
Speaker 20 (02:19:34):
Is that?
Speaker 5 (02:19:35):
Luca replied to a comment from Kim Kardashian.
Speaker 2 (02:19:38):
Yes.
Speaker 15 (02:19:38):
The Lakers posted on their Instagram account a hey welcome
Luka Doncic, and Kim Kardashian commented, I want to learn
how to speak Slovenian because that's what he is, and
Luca literally responded to her, no, please don't. Okay, he's
seen what she's done to other basketball players.
Speaker 8 (02:19:56):
I guess, oh no, yeah, it makes a good decision there.
Speaker 2 (02:19:59):
Well, as we've said, there's something about these Kardashian people.
They've ruined so many men's lives and they even turned
Bruce Jenner into a woman. So I mean, and something,
as we said, we didn't think was possible made Kanye weirder,
which is that we didn't even think that was possible.
Speaker 7 (02:20:17):
You know, back to these cams, like you know, inside
the arena or the stadium, you know, my my favorite
of the kiss cams, and they don't know they're on there,
and then suddenly the couple seize themselves and and one
of them is like, come on, let's kiss, and ones
like no, very awkward moment, Uh.
Speaker 2 (02:20:35):
You've never had with both of them.
Speaker 5 (02:20:37):
Yeah, And then there's probably.
Speaker 2 (02:20:40):
If I could ever get sariot a game like that
and we get put on that camera. I'm gonna tell
you what man arrested husband escorted out after a kissing
wife in a way that made thee them uncomfortable. They
showed two friends there you boy and girl and what no, no, no,
(02:21:03):
his friend look at him.
Speaker 15 (02:21:06):
Some one want They showed a two boy and a
girl and the dude literally pulled a sign out of
his shirt and said, this is my sister.
Speaker 2 (02:21:17):
Was ready. So the other one you didn't think you
would see is someone is you know, unassuming and conservative.
Is Mike Johnson, the Speaker of the House. And he's
saying he enjoyed hosting boys to men during their visit
to the Capitol days to me, why aren't boys to me?
And getting to come to the Capitol.
Speaker 15 (02:21:33):
I did not think I would see Mike john who
is probably the widest guy on the planet.
Speaker 8 (02:21:39):
Sorry, with boys two men and why.
Speaker 2 (02:21:44):
Why are they there? Are they just there to visit
they thought they'd go check out American history.
Speaker 15 (02:21:48):
His post says, I truly enjoyed hosting Boys two Men
during their visit to the Capitol today. Since the band's
formation in eighty five, these guys have sold over sixty
million albums and created a lot.
Speaker 8 (02:22:00):
It's part of the soundtrack of Our Lives. Nathan why
Yeah and Sean still have still got It?
Speaker 2 (02:22:07):
Where are you?
Speaker 5 (02:22:08):
The songs? And then out end of the Road or something.
I've never really been I've just never all in with them.
Speaker 8 (02:22:14):
What that's so surprising.
Speaker 2 (02:22:18):
I'm not against them. I don't hate them. I don't
like to look at you know, but I just don't
search them to the people. I mean, I'm not going
to turn that one off, you know, but I don't
search them. I don't have like, don't they have.
Speaker 8 (02:22:37):
End of the Road?
Speaker 2 (02:22:39):
Okay, everybody knows that Rick on bended knee. You're looking
them up.
Speaker 4 (02:22:44):
I am.
Speaker 2 (02:22:45):
And and then there's this thing acting like I'm not right,
acting like I'm doing it for the show, kind of
digging it off the top of the dome. It's on
the computer shack inside the NBA, and we we've heard
this as they're going to be fired right, they're not
keeping this group together.
Speaker 8 (02:23:01):
What's going on with that?
Speaker 2 (02:23:03):
We talked about that, Charles not another deal, didn't he?
Speaker 8 (02:23:06):
Are they going?
Speaker 5 (02:23:08):
I don't know what's gonna happen to Shack, but I'm out.
Speaker 2 (02:23:11):
But the Joe, we can't play this because Shack says
a word here we can't say, doesn't I'm reading what
you have under it here doesn't say we're getting fired anyway,
Ernie And then cuss word.
Speaker 8 (02:23:27):
Yeah he uh, he said. He quoted Marshall on Lynch.
This is all on the air, by the way.
Speaker 13 (02:23:32):
On T n T.
Speaker 8 (02:23:32):
He quoted marsh On Lynch. He said, I'm tired.
Speaker 2 (02:23:35):
You're doing it again with the steroids. Shot Marshawn Lynch.
Speaker 8 (02:23:38):
What did I say?
Speaker 9 (02:23:39):
Lynch?
Speaker 2 (02:23:40):
Were just running it all together? Okay, sorry, it's okay,
calm down. Sorry.
Speaker 8 (02:23:44):
I feel like I have just done at least it drugs,
the amount of steroids they have me on.
Speaker 2 (02:23:49):
Yeah, I did get to this already. You got a
little squirrel to you anyway, you just bring it, just
just a little bit.
Speaker 5 (02:23:55):
Drink coffee.
Speaker 8 (02:23:57):
I have one cup, but I got to do this.
This nose things handled like you know.
Speaker 2 (02:24:03):
It looks like they're going over to ESPN, A b C.
Speaker 8 (02:24:06):
See as they're going somewhere.
Speaker 2 (02:24:08):
Yeah, so anyway, we're sitting together. So Shaq is just
but can we play this?
Speaker 8 (02:24:12):
I can play one sentence? Okay, all right, all right,
anywhere blanket?
Speaker 15 (02:24:19):
Okay, Oh yes, we didn't fired anywhere blanket, so maybe yeah,
you that I wouldn't.
Speaker 5 (02:24:28):
And then he's saying he's tired America. Do is he
just wore out?
Speaker 8 (02:24:33):
He quoted Marshawn Lynch.
Speaker 5 (02:24:35):
And he said, quoting marsha On Lynch, I'm tired? Is whatever?
Speaker 8 (02:24:38):
America?
Speaker 5 (02:24:39):
And is he tired of us? Or is he just
saying I'm physically tired?
Speaker 8 (02:24:43):
I think he's tired of this whole situation. Okay, Well
I thought Speedy would know more about this.
Speaker 2 (02:24:48):
Yeah, now I did. I mean, I just know they're
going to ESPN and A b C. I think they're
staying together though.

Speaker 23 (02:28:22):
Well, she listens when I send her something, but she's
not a regular listener. I hadn't got her in the
army yet.
Speaker 2 (02:28:27):
Ye say, I'd be careful getting series her if she
didn't embrace the show. But the uh yeah, but you know,
I just do you do you sense it like I do?
Speaker 22 (02:28:38):

Speaker 23 (02:28:43):
I'm a little nervous.
Speaker 2 (02:28:44):
Yeah, yeah, especially well listen, this is this is gonna
be romantic. And you know this this thing that she
keeps checking to see if you're going to come down
there or not, that can be a heart yearning. Yeah,
that's probably what it is and.
Speaker 5 (02:29:00):
That's that's how about this, that's that's not ninety percent.
That's my hope, that's our hope. I hope it's not.
Speaker 2 (02:29:06):
Just want to make sure because so you don't show
up down here while I got my other plans. We

(02:30:14):
trying to be positive. I mean, it's just get in
the real worth just a minute. It's it's it's it's
bad to be here for a minute. I'm sure it's
gonna be fine. Oh yeah, that's a long way away.
I got a lot of people in the in the
box seat. Everybody takes a trip to the beach on
Valentine's or I mean I missed the part she at school?
Or someone is yes, Greg, guess why. I just said
she's in college down there, and he didn't think he
(02:30:36):
could make ten hour drive to go see her for
Valentine's way, So he's gonna surprise her, but she's in
college there. She thinks, no way he'll make that drive. Well,
now you're but that don't mean nothing, No, it doesn't.
It may it may, you know. Somebody said, if it
was a movie, Ben's girlfriend be headed up here to
surprise him.
Speaker 5 (02:30:55):
And neither of them see each other.
Speaker 2 (02:30:56):
Yeah, they pass each other. That's funny, Ben, that's I
think it's a great, good idea, buddy, let us know
how it turns out.
Speaker 5 (02:31:04):
Uh, landing in Alabama, Landing, go ahead.
Speaker 30 (02:31:09):
What's going on? So I've been, you know, anxious about
these turkey calls that gear you got, and I bought
one a couple of months ago. And I'm real weird
about buying like close out items because they were either
really good at one point and they're just moving up
(02:31:30):
to a newer version where they were really bad. Well,
I bought the close out.
Speaker 9 (02:31:37):
It's called the.
Speaker 21 (02:31:38):
Gibbler and.
Speaker 2 (02:31:42):
The Gibbler, and on the box it says a.
Speaker 30 (02:31:45):
Little bit of geary, little bit of gobble and gibler.
Speaker 28 (02:31:51):
I love the Gibler.
Speaker 6 (02:31:54):
And and uh.
Speaker 30 (02:31:59):
For some reer, I just I can't get it to work.
I can't ever get no turkeys to come in. It
just sounds like it's sick.
Speaker 5 (02:32:06):
Well, you went with a discount, you pulled a speedy,
you went gee.
Speaker 30 (02:32:11):
Well, I mean I didn't know if you wanted to
hear real quick, here.
Speaker 21 (02:32:16):
We get and just get your old thoughts.
Speaker 11 (02:32:19):
Hang on one secondear good?
Speaker 2 (02:32:22):
Oh yeah, no, wonder you're not getting any turkeys.
Speaker 9 (02:32:28):
Not great.
Speaker 2 (02:32:29):
Not're going not there the gibbler, maybe not. Let's go
to money. Let's go to Martha in Oxford, Alabama. Martha,
go ahead, Hey.
Speaker 27 (02:32:40):
Rick, Hey, Martha, Hey, I want to tell you about
the greatest man that ever lived. I want to give
a tribute to my husband. He's already going on the
most thoughtful our last Thanksgiving. We on the last and
(02:33:02):
he fixed. He actually grilled some steaks and vaktata salad
and had me in a dozen roses. He never a
Thanksgiving one, I mean, not thanks to ansor never a
Valentine's went by that I didn't have roses and a
box of kinie. And that was every day was Valentine's
(02:33:23):
because he brought me roses or flowers just for no occasions.
Speaker 2 (02:33:28):
So how long has he As long has he been been.
Speaker 27 (02:33:31):
In heaven Father's Day twenty three?
Speaker 2 (02:33:34):
Oh so it's still free. Yeah, these these these markers
can be tough. You know when you when you someone
has passed, and you know it's hard anyway, but then
things like today that was so special to both of
y'all show up, but really really kind of you knew
a tribute to him and sounds like as you said,
(02:33:54):
you were a blessed woman. But you know what, I
bet if we talked to him he would say he
was a blessed man. So what a great marriage. Thanks
for calling in and happy Valentine's Day to you that
you have fond memories of your time with him and
this is not it's always going to be.
Speaker 5 (02:34:09):
Thanks for being with us.
Speaker 2 (02:34:10):
We were happy.
Speaker 1 (02:34:11):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, Big Bucks enter team,
but please AM's the Rick Burgess Show with Speedy, Greg Burgess,
(02:34:36):
Edie Van Adlau and Rick Burgess.
Speaker 2 (02:34:40):
Jeans all here, Brandy hour, Thank you for being with
us this hour. Burgess ball Battle will take place. Two
members in the box seat. They don't know who they are.
They're sitting there calmly in their box seat. They don't know.
In a moment they may be pulled into an ironclad
battle battling another member, a person they awkwardly just met.
(02:35:06):
And then the winner we'll walk over to the wonderful
will bundles bits and bucks. You see if they can
grab a little cash, so we will see that will
happen this hour. We've been talking a lot about Valentine's Day,
just because it's fun. Some of the greatest love songs
of the ever written. We've unpacked those a little bit
(02:35:27):
today and this has led to an email to start
the hour and possibly an opportunity for us to participate
in someone who claims they're an aspiring songwriter. Also interesting
today in the box seats, one of our people has
been searching for adlers old original Love is Not Lonely?
Speaker 8 (02:35:46):
That wasn't the name of it?
Speaker 2 (02:35:49):
Love is Not Lonely? Rick John for getting the great
Ted Nuga hit No Kid, Greg Cat's crust Fever, Don't
let Don't open the door for him? Yeah, you got
to be a Ted News But there's no recording of
that out there, right, Adler of what of Love is
Not Lonely?
Speaker 8 (02:36:05):
Well, there's that one video that somebody took me like,
what was it? What did you say? Thirteen twelve years old?
Speaker 2 (02:36:10):
Trying to find that there was just too much got it.
Speaker 15 (02:36:14):
There was just too much depression, just dripping from the
entire pre presentation there.
Speaker 8 (02:36:19):
We can't do that on Valentin. We can't do that
to val There might be.
Speaker 2 (02:36:22):
Somebody out there that thinks they're lonely, but they're not.
At least you're not driving ten hours to possibly have
your heart broken, So we got his heart broken. No,
I think you don't think that doesn't sound somebody, somebody please.
Speaker 5 (02:36:36):
Well he's got to call her at Tallahassee and hey,
I'm closed.
Speaker 2 (02:36:38):
I don't want him to get there. Knock on that door.
Don't do that, okay, knock on that door, got his
flowers dressed perfectly, got his hair just like he likes it.
Speaker 5 (02:36:46):
And Jody answers the door. What if he calls her
from outside?
Speaker 2 (02:36:50):
Hey, how you doing? Don't come? Don't don't And she said,
and she said, I'm in class when you know she's there.
How about how about when you want, you know, when
you wonder, when you wonder somebody you know eating on you.
But is there some weird side of you that just
still wants to call and get my heads up? Just
so almost like to protect yourself. And just from that
situation when she got a call before I went to Greenwi, Mississippi,
(02:37:11):
one time, that was tough. It's a long ride on
the ground bus. There's nothing worse.
Speaker 5 (02:37:19):
There's nothing worse. She could at least stayed with me
till I left.
Speaker 2 (02:37:24):
You made that love was lonely. That love is actually
quite lonely.
Speaker 5 (02:37:31):
Yeah, the Graham will stop at every city and take
its time.
Speaker 2 (02:37:36):
You evidently misread the situation. Yeah, yeah, my sister was cute.
But uher did you? Did you? Why would you say
that you have a little heart you have a little
heart broken? Or did you say I'm here, I'm gonna
come by the presidential dump? I mean it was over, Sam.
Speaker 5 (02:37:53):
I think went out while I was there and I
like hung out with parents.
Speaker 2 (02:37:58):
Somebody take me to the bus, go home. Oh that's terrible, Yeah,
I was. I was so embarrassed from me. I guess
you can't call that second hand because that's first.
Speaker 5 (02:38:13):
Let me is that feeling.
Speaker 2 (02:38:14):
Let me be clear, this may be a romantic gesture
that turns out to be wonderful, right, I don't know
why we're being like we already? Yeah, everybody felt it
to I wouldn't only want we all felt that. Uh
from the email? You remember now you know we have
a segment if you want us to address something, These
are the emails that you should address. Hey birds, Hey bird,
Hey bird, hey bird.
Speaker 5 (02:38:35):
Quick question.
Speaker 2 (02:38:36):
I listened to mostly country music, seventies and eighties, classics
and classic rock as well. It got me thinking in
twenty to thirty years. What modern day rock bands will
our kids and grandkids consider to be classic rock. I'm
out of the loop on what today's rock bands even are.
Some come to mind where our children say, here's some
(02:38:58):
classic rock and play Greda Van Fleet, Blackstone, Cherry, Yeah, yeah,
BlackBerry smoke Ye. I was gonna.
Speaker 8 (02:39:11):
Honey, honey, honey.
Speaker 2 (02:39:12):
They're not mouth when you say honey, My goodness. By
the way, this is the kind of can I say
this on this, Hey bird, Hey bird? We have to
give props here because this is the kind of effort
we need. You're gonna love this next line I was
going to ask, I'm getting emotional. Is it possible with
this this reset thankful for the past, but excited about
(02:39:34):
the president of the future. Is it possible that this
new beginning I'm now starting, and we're all starting together
with an audience that has the ability to call themselves.
Speaker 5 (02:39:45):
I don't listen to this guy, listen, this is this
is giving me. It's as hopeful.
Speaker 2 (02:39:50):
Also, I was gonna ask you to spend the wheel
of bundles, bits and bucks for me, but since Jill's
great email email got that done, I no longer I
am going to make that request.
Speaker 5 (02:40:03):
You've already spun it.
Speaker 2 (02:40:03):
For her instead of him her. He went the other route,
he said. He said, I was considering trying to get
y'all do that for me. Well, now that's over. Well
that's a little bit of an attitude. But at least
but at least he knows not to ask.
Speaker 5 (02:40:16):
Yeah, that's emotions. That's an emotional moment for me. Yes,
pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (02:40:21):
Oh yeah, well that rarely happens. You think there's even
a chance that in this new beginning, people are saying, Hey,
I call too much. I'm not calling again today.
Speaker 5 (02:40:30):
No, I'm allow.
Speaker 2 (02:40:31):
I just did some phones, did you, he says, dig
in the new show, wish all of you? Well, uh,
and said I gave this show a chance, and it
turns out that I'm loving it. Happy Valentine's Day to you,
Burge and to your lovely wife Sherry.
Speaker 5 (02:40:46):
Well, thank you.
Speaker 2 (02:40:47):
Great Danny, he says, I would like to apologize. I'm
probably one of those you see upnoxious, obnoxious texts coming
in on the text line.
Speaker 13 (02:40:55):
He really is.
Speaker 2 (02:40:56):
Guys, this guy has just given me hope.
Speaker 18 (02:40:59):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (02:40:59):
Now now we go to another situation. M hm, you
think you're gonna be all right?
Speaker 2 (02:41:10):
So we don't have time right now. We've got to
come back. Is it that long? Okay?
Speaker 5 (02:41:14):
If we're gonna let it like we hate a little bit.
Speaker 2 (02:41:17):
But we have a guy and he's been very aggressive,
which almost makes us not want to do it. You
have to be careful with us if you push too hard,
you know how. Sometimes somebody says, let's be aggressive and
then we'll get our way. Sometimes if you're too aggressive
with us, it makes us actually go the other way.
If you push too hard, then sometimes we kind of
(02:41:38):
have an opposite really, but it is Valentine's Day and
this guy thinks he has written a love song. Oh,
I got it.
Speaker 5 (02:41:46):
It's right here, I do have it.
Speaker 13 (02:41:47):
You run.
Speaker 2 (02:41:47):
We ever had anybody send a song that was actually
a hit Robbie McCurry, little Little Pee, Yeah, Trumpy, So here,
here's what he wants. It's an original song my friend
and I wrote. He even gave us his name. We
(02:42:08):
recorded it in two thousand and seven. We thought it
was a pretty good love song. I'm offering offering this
up for the brutality of the crack and Greg in
the audience in honor of Adler. Love is not lonely.
Speaker 8 (02:42:23):
That's again not in the name of the song.
Speaker 2 (02:42:24):
Ise he's setting it up like it's gonna be bad
because it's actually pretty good.
Speaker 13 (02:42:28):
But is it?
Speaker 2 (02:42:29):
I don't know.
Speaker 7 (02:42:30):
I listened to I Gotta just full transparency. I listened
to the first thirty seconds of it, and I stopped
it because I didn't want to ruin it.
Speaker 5 (02:42:37):
So I kind of have an idea.
Speaker 2 (02:42:38):
Is he reverse psychology on us is really bad? The
way I'm be honest with you, I don't like it
when they're good. I want them to be harbor. Okay, yeah,
it's honest. I mean it's not a good bit. So
we will have to play Adler's song though.
Speaker 20 (02:42:53):
No.
Speaker 8 (02:42:53):
Yeah, yeah, it's depressing. I thought it was good.
Speaker 14 (02:42:59):
It's not.
Speaker 8 (02:43:00):
See I'm not delivering.
Speaker 2 (02:43:02):
It does We'll be back.
Speaker 1 (02:43:07):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the man who taught
(02:43:32):
the world to say, couldn't care less. Rick Purchase, We're.
Speaker 2 (02:43:40):
Back, thanks for being with us today. Valentine's edition of
the show. All right, so speedy, your attempt to get
your situation said, it did not go well and the
break did it?
Speaker 10 (02:43:51):
No?
Speaker 5 (02:43:51):
I needed just a little bit more time, So you
need to play the Adler.
Speaker 2 (02:43:55):
Okay, So does Adler have it that okay, after all
that good because I would have to I don't want
to try it. So it was a it was a
tremendous effort, but the man got it. I don't even
know why did you even try that?
Speaker 8 (02:44:13):
Now?
Speaker 2 (02:44:14):
I was just just okay, I just thought I could
try it. So by the way I saw you cracking
over here didn't help any that stupid. But but can
I just to baby brother's defense here, I saw you
try to convince yourself it was a good idea. You
can you couldn't.
Speaker 5 (02:44:30):
Well, you don't even feel good. I didn't have a
hiccup it would work. But I've got a buzz in
and I don't know where the buzz is. But I mean,
if AVER can play it or I can play it,
like right, all right?
Speaker 2 (02:44:41):
So I told you down, all right? Stupid? Now he's oh, yeah,
I don't know why. Right, you want to give him
some patches? So is this the guy that's been coming
here super hot email and text the email and texting
(02:45:02):
a lot, super hot? And so he says he thinks
that he has a love song. Since this is today
we're dedicating calling Doug, so well, there's no doubt. Yeah,
and so but you're saying, and it may fall in
that that horrible zone to me. To me, when it's
really good, it's a winner, and when it's really bad,
(02:45:22):
it's a winner. But then there's those that just kind
of falls somewhere in between, and and those are the
ones you don't really know.
Speaker 5 (02:45:27):
Where to go with it, right, you know?
Speaker 2 (02:45:28):
Now, I'm not good. I just be honest here, I
don't know where to look when this is being played? Here?
Speaker 20 (02:45:33):
What to do?
Speaker 5 (02:45:33):
Go ahead and.
Speaker 2 (02:45:36):
Right? And this guy is wanting us. And this guy's
saying that since we don't really play full songs, all
we play is bumper music, that we should call this.
The old contest was keep it or coaster? This one
should be booted or bumper?
Speaker 7 (02:45:49):
Yes, he won't say, instead of keeping a coaster, just
call it that. Yeah, because that way, because we don't
play full song now, you know, you either use it
as bumper music or boosted.
Speaker 5 (02:45:58):
Okay, what what I wo? Whatever? One thing I want
to ask everybody right.
Speaker 2 (02:46:02):
Now is what side are you on?
Speaker 8 (02:46:05):
What side are you?
Speaker 16 (02:46:07):
Tell me?
Speaker 2 (02:46:09):
Tell me? Sing it all?
Speaker 9 (02:46:11):
Right?
Speaker 5 (02:46:11):
So this is Dougie Sledge?
Speaker 9 (02:46:14):
Is that right?
Speaker 2 (02:46:14):
My last.
Speaker 8 (02:46:16):
He's just dug Sledge?
Speaker 2 (02:46:18):
Okay, yeah, I'm not supposed to say that, like Dougie Fresh,
and he wrote he wrote it with a song, a
song with the friend Patrick in two thousand and seven.
Speaker 8 (02:46:25):
And so it's long, So come out of it any
time you Yeah.
Speaker 5 (02:46:29):
I'm not gonna listen to the whole thing.
Speaker 2 (02:46:30):
Okay, Okay, Now where do I look kind of look
at you? Yes, I don't think he's gonna be on.
Speaker 5 (02:46:34):
I don't think it's okay, Here we go.
Speaker 2 (02:46:37):
And this is a love song from a listener from
a listener. Oh yeah, by wait, No one has a
good feeling about the guy driving to day time. No,
maybe he needs to play this song.
Speaker 8 (02:46:49):
Could have done one lap on this intro. This is
too long to lap, way too long, God long?
Speaker 2 (02:46:55):
Okay, thank you already critical having.
Speaker 8 (02:46:58):
Love sounds like you.
Speaker 4 (02:47:03):
Hold to deepenside, nervous singing about to tell her.
Speaker 28 (02:47:13):
I need her in my life.
Speaker 4 (02:47:19):
She lived next to or to sweet with kids.
Speaker 2 (02:47:22):
Okay, but I never saw it in.
Speaker 4 (02:47:27):
No, she's lean following the fout your travelers, preees to
my knees, cheese and talent and smart to us. And
because I've already don't saw many chances I.
Speaker 13 (02:47:48):
Can let out, I don't know what to do.
Speaker 8 (02:47:55):
Leaving Alabama, leaving leaving Alabama.
Speaker 2 (02:47:58):
Good job, Doug.
Speaker 8 (02:47:59):
The mix was tough, Yeah, the mix was tough. Vocals
were buried horribly.
Speaker 2 (02:48:03):
Yeah, I'll be honest, it's it's not bad. The music lonely.
Speaker 5 (02:48:09):
It was a good music.
Speaker 8 (02:48:10):
Love is not lonely. And that's not even the name
of the song.
Speaker 2 (02:48:12):
Get it ready.
Speaker 8 (02:48:16):
For myself.
Speaker 2 (02:48:16):
When they recorded it, they were convinced it was going
I said, horrifying, right, yeah, you don't mind. Somebody sounds
somebody likes it. So there's some we got a like
we got three that's his the guy singing that it liked, Okay, Well,
(02:48:37):
I'm just couldn't hear the lyrics. Yeah, that was a concern.
Speaker 5 (02:48:41):
I mean, the music is pretty good.
Speaker 2 (02:48:44):
When somebody saying they thought it was worse than I
b s. Okay, now just play the intro. Okay, it
did sound like you were singing it right, Yeah, Okay, yeah,
it's yeah, I mean it fell in up.
Speaker 19 (02:48:59):
In that.
Speaker 8 (02:49:03):
No lie.
Speaker 5 (02:49:04):
Jared Hudson just texted us, Okay, Cherry, do not ever
play that again.
Speaker 2 (02:49:08):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (02:49:08):
Well, then, and if if he says that anybody who
was already.
Speaker 2 (02:49:11):
Everybody was in special forces. I'm not gonna We're really
stringed upset Jared on a number of things. You got
yours ready? Here it is all right, sir. Here we
go myself leaving Alabama. There we play your song for us.
(02:49:46):
Love is not lonely. Love is kind of lonely. Listen, buddy,
you were at the coffee shop and you were bringing it.
You were you were double trouble up there with double trouble. Yeah,
the bass playing the drummer.
Speaker 8 (02:50:01):
Okay, Rick, if we go somebody email a long time ago.
It wasn't even on like my paces where he tries
to act like this song sucks. I've got so many Alabama,
so many reasons not to play it.
Speaker 5 (02:50:16):
You need to record then you play right, Love is
not lonely.
Speaker 13 (02:50:21):
I can't find it.
Speaker 5 (02:50:22):
I've searched everywhere for that.
Speaker 2 (02:50:24):
Love is not lonely.
Speaker 20 (02:50:25):
You have that.
Speaker 2 (02:50:26):
If we could get maybe one more chord to run
under human making, can you do It's a favor? Can
you do his favorite? You pop the chat.
Speaker 22 (02:50:36):
Up?
Speaker 8 (02:50:37):
If you found it up, if you found it for real,
if you found it for real, said it to me,
I'll play.
Speaker 5 (02:50:42):
Did you really find it speedy?
Speaker 2 (02:50:44):

Speaker 5 (02:50:45):
Did you really find it.
Speaker 2 (02:50:46):

Speaker 17 (02:51:19):
It's not.
Speaker 2 (02:51:22):

Speaker 8 (02:51:22):

Speaker 2 (02:51:23):
This is it right here? Take a listen, handler, here
we go.
Speaker 4 (02:51:30):
What what is that?
Speaker 21 (02:51:38):
What is this?
Speaker 14 (02:51:39):
What is that?
Speaker 7 (02:51:40):
It's just Robbi mccurty sent me a song about Terry,
which is kind of strue.
Speaker 2 (02:51:43):
I don't know how to get the pictures of my wife,
but hey, listen, he can come up with pictures.
Speaker 5 (02:51:47):
Yeah, guys, does that? I don't think I thought of
you SNG like you know something.
Speaker 11 (02:51:51):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (02:51:52):
I don't think it's good first to encourage this. Robbie McCurdy, guy,
I mean, Robbie mccurty started out that. You thought that's
a funny bit. Then it kind of turned weird. He
finds pictures. I mean, he'll throw a picture there me
like when I'm twelve. Yeah, I worry, I worry. I
worry that Robbie mccurty's got a room and there's pictures
not just of us, of our family all over the room.
And I don't think it's good. I don't think it's good. Yeah,
(02:52:14):
he comes up with some footage. No, yeah, I mean it's.
Speaker 5 (02:52:17):
It's like he has a picture like that. I thought
I lost, you know, Oh yeah, I think this is it.
Speaker 2 (02:52:23):
And sometimes I'm almost certain that the picture he has
it looks like he took a picture of it behind
a hedge. Yeah, this is it here, Rick, Yeah, it's
too late. Oh man, I got it. Yeah, so.
Speaker 8 (02:52:34):
Channel too.
Speaker 2 (02:52:36):
It didn't buzz that bad that you through. When we
come back, random drawing to people out of the box seats,
We'll go to the Burdess Fall battle, trying to earn
an opportunity to spend the will of bundles, fits and bucks,
somebody trying to win a little valley in stage.
Speaker 1 (02:52:58):
When we come out, this is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 2 (02:53:11):
We're back, and more of the show, rolling blessed day.
It tends too, you know, when you look at the reviews,
honestly on on Dougie Sledge, you get somebody working within
the studio on that one and give a good proper mix.
It's not it's not that bad. I think it's just,
(02:53:32):
you know, when we're all young and we're putting stuff
together and we don't know how to get good recordings
and you don't have a producer in they're going, okay,
let's try it again. That was a little flat, you
know kind of stuff. So it's actually has a pretty
good foundation for a decent song.
Speaker 15 (02:53:45):
I agree.
Speaker 8 (02:53:46):
It's four and a half minutes long. Make it under four.
Speaker 2 (02:53:48):
Yeah. Also, you don't like four and a half No, no.
Speaker 8 (02:53:52):
Too long. You got to get straight into it.
Speaker 2 (02:53:53):
Yeah. I did find Adler's song, though, I like you
finding okay with my channel here, let's go.
Speaker 5 (02:54:10):
Good job at good Job's hear it?
Speaker 2 (02:54:14):
Yeah, nobody here. By the way, I hope that was
your channel was the problem because it sounded like it
was somebody's a phase across the Yeah, that's my problem.
Simply Safe dot com slash big Vox. Look, let me
tell you one of the things that you gotta you
gotta feel good about, you know, especially if you're gonna
drive ten hours to the beach to surprise your girlfriend.
Speaker 5 (02:54:34):
You want to know that when you left that everything
is being watched.
Speaker 2 (02:54:37):
And Simply Safe provides that simply safe dot Com slash
Big Vox. Go there right now and you can save
fifty percent on a new system with one of their
monitoring plans. And you're gonna want that anyway. Live Guard monitoring.
You'll get the first month of that for free. After
that's about a dollar a day. But they guard the
property in real time like they can interact with people,
(02:54:59):
say hey, what are you doing on this property? Why
are you here? They can see if a fire breaks out, flooding,
carbon monoxide poisoning, a medical emergency. They really are the
best in the business. Nothing touches the ability to customize
the security system to the property. You can use it
(02:55:20):
if you're renting, which was the reason why they developed
this technology. So go to simply safe dot Com slash
Big Box, get fifty percent off in you system with
one of their monitoring plans. Also, Rick Burgess show dot
com under sponsors will get you there too. There's no
safe quite like simply safe dot com slash Big Vox.
(02:55:40):
By the way, the story's coming in of people who
tried to go surprise somebody.
Speaker 5 (02:55:44):
It's not good. You people are killing us.
Speaker 2 (02:55:46):
I did it.
Speaker 8 (02:55:47):
I'm not good to even tell you all about. It's
why I wrote Love is Not Lonely.
Speaker 2 (02:55:52):
You know what he should have done. I sped him
out and told him where I got that car? You
went by? Got you could that card? Greg you hey
KOs I to that thing was heartwarming. It was somebody
just told us. They drove twelve hours from the top
of Alabama to the middle of Florida. When they got there,
there was a big sign that greeted him, and it
was from that woman, but the sign had another man's
(02:56:14):
name on it. That she had decided to marry him.
Oh that's awful, hey man, turn around and go back
the other way.
Speaker 8 (02:56:20):
All right, I found ten second. I found the old song.
Here's the old song. I'll give you all ten seconds
of here. Y'all can just laugh it up and make
fun of me.
Speaker 2 (02:56:29):
Okay, even white boys got the shower baby got.
Speaker 8 (02:56:34):
I don't know what happened.
Speaker 2 (02:56:42):
All right, let me have some numbers. Two people in
the vox seats will go over to the Burgess battle. Uh,
and they will go. It will be burgess ball battle
between two of them. The winner goes to spind the wheel.
All right, here's the two people. It will be Jessica
Tate Jessica Tate will be taking on Valerie Stone. Valerie Stone,
(02:57:08):
you are up, come on so here. It is a
burgess fall battle. It's all yeah, who side are you all?
Whose side are you on? No punching, no punching, pulling hair, ladies,
no pulling hair? All right, So Valerie takes on Jessica.
The winner, we'll get a chance to spend the wheel.
(02:57:30):
All right, So you have the wirelesses up? I got
that speedy. So a player one. It's a who can
score the most in thirty seconds. The last ten seconds.
Each bucket will count three and go there they go,
and they're off and running. They're throwing a lot of bricks.
There's all right, now we got something going over here.
Still go alright to zero? Okay, here we go too.
(02:57:55):
It's two to two. We good part of just six
six four. Here we go.
Speaker 20 (02:58:03):
Valerie houses lead eight to four. Valeriees up eight to four.
There's so many bricks, you wall. It's eight to seven
to seven. They're doing three pointers.
Speaker 2 (02:58:15):
Did all right? So Valerie wins at eighty seven? Wow
to seven?
Speaker 16 (02:58:23):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (02:58:23):
Valerie right here in the red sweater. They're both wearing
red sweater. Yeah, I'm sorry, a different shade of red.
Let me tell you that was going eight to seven.
Valerie Stone barely beats Jessica Tate eight to seven, and
now the winner, Valerie, who scored a whopping eight points
in thirty seconds. Will now go over to the wheel.
(02:58:50):
If you can't, all right, vow, you must say it
is will to me and then screams spinning. You have
to go, it's will to me, spin it and then
(02:59:11):
you let it rip.
Speaker 11 (02:59:12):
Right?
Speaker 2 (02:59:12):
Are you ready to go? You go ahead when you're ready,
but you must say it's will to me. Louder will
I will like it's a will w h e L
I love it, I love it. You don't want to
do that. Let's say it out here we go. Wow,
let's say we can spend a winner. Let's see if
we can.
Speaker 5 (02:59:32):
Spend a winner here.
Speaker 2 (02:59:34):
Come.
Speaker 27 (02:59:37):
No, no, no, no, not me, not not me.
Speaker 2 (02:59:41):
Okay, there's no doubt. It's waiting. It's it's from you
got shift so Blaze.
Speaker 5 (02:59:48):
TV subscription again?
Speaker 8 (02:59:50):
All right?
Speaker 18 (02:59:50):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (02:59:51):
And yeah, it was so close to Eleano spin you
see what you Let's see where it does. Okay, so
she's got just pull it. I just want to say, okay, yeah,
because it's I mean it's happening a lot. Yeah, okay,
we have more than one blade.
Speaker 8 (03:00:06):
Oh we do have two blazes.
Speaker 2 (03:00:07):
I just goodness, you spent a thousand dollars Greg.
Speaker 5 (03:00:11):
That that's nobody from me.
Speaker 19 (03:00:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:00:14):
So so that that landing on blaze. Well you remember though, honestly, Adler,
the last two times people have asked me to spend
it for them, it did not land on blaze.
Speaker 8 (03:00:23):
That's true.
Speaker 2 (03:00:23):
Yeah either time.
Speaker 8 (03:00:25):
Uh so solation.
Speaker 2 (03:00:27):
Yeah, there you go, Valerie, A year subscription. Yeah, you
got to hear subscription. You're all a little disappointed, but okay, sure,
you know it's it's but you know what that it
landed where it landed, and she spun it, and you
know she was being real so spoken but willed amaze
you yelled it out.
Speaker 16 (03:00:48):
She did.
Speaker 2 (03:00:49):
You know, she's one of those you think, well, she's
very calm, she's very quiet, and also you will watch out.
Speaker 5 (03:00:56):
Yeah. Uh so, but you did win the basketball game.
I think that's the close one.
Speaker 2 (03:01:01):
I think that's the first basketball game we've had of
Burgess ball that combined points fifteen. We're not here to okay,
Steph Curry, who right?
Speaker 5 (03:01:11):
It was eight to seven. Yeah, that's a that's a
good game.
Speaker 2 (03:01:14):
It was very close. They were equally matched.
Speaker 8 (03:01:17):
Yeah, a big defense game.
Speaker 2 (03:01:19):
They were equally matched. Both of them played tremendous defense.
And there's enough bricks laying over there to build a
retaining wall, you know, So that's.
Speaker 5 (03:01:29):
It's not about that competent. So it was twenty eight
twenty seven with you two, so it was eight to
seven for them. It was just exciting, just a different
kind of game, it really was.
Speaker 2 (03:01:37):
And it was I did not cheat.
Speaker 8 (03:01:39):
Defense wins championships.
Speaker 5 (03:01:41):
They always do, so, uh so we did not.
Speaker 2 (03:01:44):
You almost landed on the man of a thousand voices,
which I think the audience was all ive. They're glad
or helium boy.
Speaker 5 (03:01:49):
Oh no, that's I'm sorry. That's after Greg just spun
a thousand Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:01:52):
Yeah about that. I mean, we all know I won't
to hear that. Yeah no, but but it does seem
it seems that that like but I mean, there's two
different blazes on there, and we have fun other things.
So in the last matter of fact, in the last
four spins, uh, three of them did not land. But
we can't explain it. We can't explain there. The will
(03:02:15):
is the will does what it wants to do. We'll
be back. More of the Rick Burgess Show coming out.
Speaker 31 (03:02:22):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. You ask me I
love you, and that's a calm reply I'd rather show honestly,
(03:02:47):
then it is we We.
Speaker 2 (03:02:51):
Who just a cutter to get you to cut jay?
Or come on, you don't know.
Speaker 11 (03:02:59):
Who about and you can't find the aumblest couples on
me umblest scumbles only halt.
Speaker 2 (03:03:08):
Or if you're driving back from daytime.
Speaker 26 (03:03:09):
Sometimes these long drive and I have to close my
eyes and hal's all go together.
Speaker 4 (03:03:23):
Let's I want to hold you till I die? Do
we both break down and run?
Speaker 1 (03:03:33):
I want to hold jump.
Speaker 11 (03:03:35):
To the feet.
Speaker 2 (03:03:37):
Some side. At times I drive to Orlando.
Speaker 5 (03:03:44):
Okay, that.
Speaker 2 (03:03:48):
Lie dought that she was mine. I left my heart
in Florida. Kind of stomp, don't hold up and joke.
Speaker 8 (03:04:05):
Now, if I had to do over, you know, I
never would.
Speaker 2 (03:04:13):
So I would have just zoomed in. I would have just,
oh my goodness, that's gonna be fun. I think it's
gonna be great. It is right, he's worried to dad.
Now then't expect to me, Jody. At what point does
it just turn around and go back home? I'm tired
of the things I say. Maybe six hours into it,
(03:04:34):
I'm going back.
Speaker 8 (03:04:35):
You told me over and over that jod he was gay.
Speaker 5 (03:04:43):
You know, you try to find a way that you've
seen him around a lot, You're seeing him around.
Speaker 4 (03:04:54):
Hours.
Speaker 8 (03:04:58):
He's always in the deal.
Speaker 2 (03:05:00):
Right down to the seats we go. Let's find out
who's in the seats today.
Speaker 4 (03:05:09):
The buyer, the seeds.
Speaker 2 (03:05:11):
They got their tickets from.
Speaker 16 (03:05:12):
Gott I've got.
Speaker 2 (03:05:19):
We say hello to James and Valerie Stone, Lane and
Jessica Tate. Sarah Tate is here. Hey, Michael and Caitlyn
Gogliano right there, and a special guest all the way
from Fairbanks, Alaska, Hawk in Erica. Stop by. You've heard
(03:05:39):
Hawk call the show over the years. He's been taking
that r V and hey, have you need to go
see it? It's a show here. It's here, babe. Hawk's
r V is here. Nice all in the seats today.
And you know earlier I told you and she was
our winner today, Valerie Stone. So when she was you're
playing burg Nerve, she was in the just Ball battles.
(03:06:00):
So you remember when they first came in, Uh, she said,
you djyed the dance Valentine's dance, but Aniana, uh thirty
years ago blunt down, okay, And so I did not
know this until James came over and gave me some information.
I am I getting you in trouble a boy telling
you that?
Speaker 5 (03:06:18):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (03:06:19):
Uh, he said, you know she didn't finish that story,
And I said, well, what happened says you actually drew
a drawing of some kind, did some kind.
Speaker 5 (03:06:26):
Of here you are go out okay, going out there?
Speaker 2 (03:06:30):
So apparently now I want you to think, because what
just happened here, what just happened here is historic now.
Speaker 5 (03:06:37):
So so Valerie, you you you once? How did how
did you win?
Speaker 2 (03:06:42):
Was it a drawing?
Speaker 6 (03:06:43):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (03:06:43):
You drew names for door prizes.
Speaker 2 (03:06:45):
I drew names for door prizes. You won, But there
was a problem. I was in the bathroom.
Speaker 6 (03:06:50):
Yeah, I've never won anything, and I didn't expect.
Speaker 2 (03:06:52):
To win then. So she had.
Speaker 5 (03:06:54):
She was in the bathroom, and I keep announcing her name,
and somebody find.
Speaker 2 (03:06:57):
Hollers out she's in the bathroom, And when she came back,
I made everybody clap for her.
Speaker 5 (03:07:02):
She returned from the bathroom and was dragging tissue on
her shoe.
Speaker 2 (03:07:06):
No, I'm just we had that part. That's how people
get nicknamed, right, all these.
Speaker 6 (03:07:10):
You remembered it every Valentine since.
Speaker 2 (03:07:12):
Okay, there it is. And you never won anything then
and now you'd never won since and almost like you
were cursed, and now you just won today.
Speaker 5 (03:07:20):
Yep, well how about that? We was all that issue today?
Speaker 2 (03:07:23):
So there you go. Wow, all right, so we're making
bathroom jokes. When you were calling the number, I know
how you are. Of course I was, you know how
for the moment I thought I owned the room?
Speaker 11 (03:07:32):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (03:07:34):
Where did you come from? Today?
Speaker 5 (03:07:35):
Where did y'all?
Speaker 2 (03:07:35):
I know you've been all you called the show and
you've been everywhere. Where did you come from today?
Speaker 1 (03:07:38):
Iuka?
Speaker 2 (03:07:39):
Mississippi? Aukah Mississippi? Yeah, so what part of Mississippi is at?
That's northern Mississippi, right by the Alabama line.
Speaker 5 (03:07:47):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (03:07:47):
And then and Erica, you you have not been on
the whole trip, right, You didn't have to ride this
whole thing, have you?
Speaker 10 (03:07:53):
No?
Speaker 6 (03:07:53):
I joined them about a week ago.
Speaker 5 (03:07:56):
Okay, good?
Speaker 2 (03:07:57):
Did you honestly enjoy a little time away from taking
a little break? Am I really supposed to answer that.
Speaker 8 (03:08:04):
Valentine's Day?
Speaker 2 (03:08:05):
It's Valentine's day. Thanks for being here. So what about
the Gogliano's over there, speedy? So what homemade cookie? Yeah
they got they brought homemade cookies. What what what's your
big plans for Valentine's today? We got two boys at home,
one of them six so.
Speaker 5 (03:08:20):
No yeah, so what So how long have you guys
have been married?
Speaker 2 (03:08:24):
Four years in June? Four years in June?
Speaker 5 (03:08:28):
Yeahs nervous about that one, just a little bit. How
old are the boys?
Speaker 2 (03:08:33):
Six and one? O? Six and one? Wow? So uh
and you guys came from where did you say?
Speaker 5 (03:08:40):
Spring?
Speaker 13 (03:08:41):
Spring?
Speaker 5 (03:08:41):
That's right?
Speaker 2 (03:08:41):
You tell me that. So you y'all to strove straight
in and you went to the Man Church conference in Birmingham.
See you got your hoodie on, yes, sir, yeah, yeah,
we enjoyed that. I hope you had a great time there.
We did.
Speaker 5 (03:08:50):
Yeah, And thank you guys for being here. And then
of course we got the taps over here.
Speaker 2 (03:08:54):
Yeah. Uh and hot sauce, yeah, hot sauce. So Carolina. Yeah,
So you've been trying to get us to take these
why would you is this? Are you one of these
food there people?
Speaker 32 (03:09:06):
It's just something that I have done. I've grew them
and come to find out. The soul that I've got
at my house works pretty good. So I had a
pretty good guarden a couple of years ago.
Speaker 2 (03:09:14):
Yeah, where are you're from?
Speaker 28 (03:09:16):
North Missippi?
Speaker 5 (03:09:16):
North Missippi?
Speaker 32 (03:09:17):
Yeah, pont of talk a crew that area, and so
grew the peppers. Had a friend of mine that we
go to church with pickled them. And I was like,
oh my, you know, so I sold a bunch of
jars and that that I gave you all, that's the
last jar I got. I think, well, let's try this,
you know.
Speaker 2 (03:09:37):
Yeah, And you were saying that it's it's a pepper sauce,
so we could just put in black eyed peas or greens.
But but it's gonna be one.
Speaker 28 (03:09:44):
Yeah that you can do anything you want to do
with it. You can cut them up, put them on
a sandwich.
Speaker 2 (03:09:48):
Now do you like seeing people in pain?
Speaker 8 (03:09:50):
He does.
Speaker 22 (03:09:52):
It?
Speaker 28 (03:09:52):
I think I think hot peppers bring people together.
Speaker 2 (03:09:56):
Do you really now, especially laid hotness or is it instant?
Speaker 28 (03:10:01):
It's gonna be like a throat punch.
Speaker 2 (03:10:02):
Why would I want to do that?
Speaker 13 (03:10:04):
About?
Speaker 5 (03:10:06):
I know they score them? Has yours been scored?
Speaker 2 (03:10:08):
So these?
Speaker 32 (03:10:09):
Yes, I blanched them and stuff and now the the
stuff that's in the bottle is gonna be similar to
like your Louisiana hot sauce. I actually fermented it myself. Okay,
all right, so that's that's just the hot sauce.
Speaker 28 (03:10:22):
It's gonna yeah, I mean it's it's gonna be a little.
Speaker 5 (03:10:25):
Dab, would do you?
Speaker 13 (03:10:26):
Okay?
Speaker 5 (03:10:26):
What about your peppers? That what's that score that you
always see the the scovel?
Speaker 2 (03:10:31):
Yeah, yeah, scovel score.
Speaker 32 (03:10:33):
So there's three different variations in that jar of whole peppers.
I've got Cayennes, which will be the mildest. I've got
the hobbing Earas in the bottom, and then right in
the middle is the reapers. And the reapers are gonna
be they're they're they're gonna be bumping about one point
six million good night and that's gonna good night. That's
gonna bring up the heat of the hobbing Eras thing
(03:10:56):
and the Cayennes. The Cayennes will be the mildest. And
I I can eat a half a one. I made
the mistake.
Speaker 28 (03:11:03):
I just plucked one out off the plant in my
garden and it put me down.
Speaker 2 (03:11:07):
On my knees. But I didn't I know, I.
Speaker 5 (03:11:11):
Don't understand this How long does a feeling last?
Speaker 32 (03:11:14):
So it will fade if you just go at it,
you know, and just eat it like an apple or whatever,
empty stomach, the pain will supside all by itself. Don't
make the mistake of drinking water milk.
Speaker 5 (03:11:30):
My water makes it worse. You gotta have milk.
Speaker 3 (03:11:32):
Drink drink milk.
Speaker 5 (03:11:36):
Yeah yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:11:37):
His daughter says that I feel like he's made you.
Didn't know that. You can't drink water with hot papers.
It makes it worse, the fat and the oil.
Speaker 32 (03:11:44):
So if you can stomach mayonnaise by itself, whole milk,
whole milk.
Speaker 15 (03:11:49):
Here's a Scoville heat scale all the way down at
the bottom.
Speaker 8 (03:11:54):
You got like halopenio poblano. A holopenion can be between
two thousand and eight thousand. Meanwhile, he's talking about millions
with these Carolina reapers.
Speaker 28 (03:12:02):
So you're up there by the stem.
Speaker 8 (03:12:04):
Oh yeah no, and it's really it's not.
Speaker 32 (03:12:08):
You can go the route like what Adler was talking about,
go to a good tie restaurant and we see, yeah whatever.
Speaker 2 (03:12:15):
But that is just this.
Speaker 8 (03:12:18):
It's a different anim Look what I can do.
Speaker 2 (03:12:21):
Okay, Well, nice to meet you and your family. Thanks
to all of you for being in the Vox seas today.
We got pictures for you and a little something to
take home. Uh and if you'd like to join us,
we have no room through March, but April will kind
of open up to everyone. The last week of February,
she'll be paying attention on that. Have a great Valentine today,
(03:12:43):
thanks for being with us.
Speaker 1 (03:12:45):
This is the Rick Burgers Show.
