Speaker 1 (00:05):
Big Box enterteam. But please, Sam's The Rick Burgess Show
with Speedy, Greg Burgess, Edie Van Adler and Rick Burgers.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Good to be with you as we start a brand
new hour on a brand new day. We've got a
lot to do on the program today. The Fox seats
will fill again people coming from all over the country
to watch the show today. Two of them will be
selected to play around of the Burgess Ball Battle. The

(00:44):
winner spins the wheel. Will they spin a bundle winning
some swag from the Rick Burgers Show store. Will they
spin a bit which means somebody here on the show
has to do something on command for inner came at
purposes only? Or will they get bucks and get some

(01:05):
straight cash. We'll see that will happen on the program
today as we break down the stories of the day.
You can participate eight eight eight six Big Box texting us.
That's already happening at eight eight eight six two four
four eight six nights. As you heard the voice of

(01:25):
the Great ken Osburn, the game is all here. As
we settle in to another one, there on the text
line someone saying, hey guys, I'll see you in a
few I'm coming in for the Vox seats awesome, done, done,
come on. So we have a lot to cover going forward.
I will say this one thing I didn't expect. I

(01:47):
expected to come in today and hear, you know, some
discussion about the hockey game last night. Didn't hear that
to begin with? Start hearing it a little bit later.
I was a little taken back that I came in
to a discussion from Greg and Speedy lamenting the end
of the series Cobra Kai. So I didn't finish. I

(02:13):
didn't know y'all were I knew. I remember back y'all
dabbling in this. I mean they were having like a
I mean it was like, I mean you you you
would have thought I haven't seen Greg this upset since
he he wasn't sure there'd be another season of Virgin River.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
So so the so uh Cobra Kai embraces cheesiness uh
and and they go, yes, we are cheesy, it's eighties
and and here we are. And you start watching, You're like, well,
I got what what? What's next? And the episodes aren't
that long, so you don't sit down and spend uh

(02:53):
And Terry made makes fun of me when I sit
down to watch it, and before I know she's sitting
beside me.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
I'm like, Lisa watches it with me. Yeah, so Scott,
Yeah sober so so Cobra ka that was the mean
people and karate Kid. Right, they made a turn? Are
they are they nice people? Now? Well, now they go
through it. But in the end there's no John Brick United. Yeah.
Wait a minute, now it is now raph Machio is

(03:20):
not this is it? Yes, Miyagi Dough is still in man,
he's not he's represented. Okay, so he ain't combined because
he's not Cobra Kha. No, well, just just just just
hang on with that. Greg's gonna give everything away. You

(03:40):
possibly like the show we see there you go, who
were you? Terry karate Kid. I never watched the sequels.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
I think I saw the second one when they went
to Okinawa or wherever.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
Yeah, and there's there's a throwback guy from that one.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
They're bringing people from the past, the originals, And I
think that's where you'll like it because in the original
ky Karate Kid they were all young when they did it,
and now they're all old men like we are, and
they come back and you know shows where they are
a help me with.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
This, Greg, I know on this this program, and it's
only going to get worse now because of you and
me and working together as brothers growing up in Calhoun County.
There's always been a lot of Calhoun County talk back
on the Rick and Brothers Show, and of course here
because that's where we're from. So let me see if
I have this run, I still live there. Yeah, yeah,
but but I'm talking about way back in though, down
there at the bottom of the county. Okay, you know

(04:29):
you're to get down there toward Tall Died County line,
right there, the line, right there at the line when
we grew up in Oxford. So I'm going back to
back in time in the county, boys of the county.
So this would be it is weird that you're still
there in a different place. That would that we would
have never even know. We know nothing about North can Yeah,
you're you're up there where above us from Yeah. So

(04:50):
so anyway, so this would be like there being a
series that the last time it ended, you and I
which we did, would be still playing for Oxford High
School and we would be upset with the people at
Walter Welburn High School and then all sudden later in life,
Welburn and Oxford people became one team. That's okay, Oh
well that I can't imagine that. They they've had a

(05:12):
few throughout the whole series, Okay, they've had some following up.
So are there times that the Welburn people get mad
at again? Oh? Yeah? Okay? Yeah, well, okay, what's wrong
with you?

Speaker 5 (05:24):
I haven't been out of it.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
Ain't like the season was gonna sa season six. The
final is the final season and they released it in pieces.
This last piece has not been released long, it's not
been out there.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
And you're just going, you're not true. Well the thing that, yeah,
the thing that bothered me the most was I don't
know why they called it Cobra Kay. I'll be honest,
Well that's my next one. They don't know why they did.

Speaker 5 (05:48):
Isn't that the name of the other dojo?

Speaker 4 (05:50):
Yeah, but I'm saying the name of the whole series
is Cobra Kai. But you got Mioggi Doe, you got.

Speaker 5 (05:55):
Well, what isn't the head of the Cobra Kai guy
the main character.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Johnny him and Ralpher Yeah yeah, they're both so Johnny
is the mean sense from the time I'm just asking
about them. He won the champion that Daniel be he's
the one crazy? Yeah? Oh yeah, what about the get
beat him up and he was really good? Yeah? Go
with the blonde kid. Okay, what if he's the best

(06:22):
part of the whole the whole, the whole series. What
about the mean is in't it the mean sense?

Speaker 6 (06:27):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (06:28):
Yeah? Yeah, crazy John crazy? Yeah? Yes he is. He's
old living room.

Speaker 5 (06:32):
Is dad dead?

Speaker 2 (06:34):
Yes? Well he died in one of the kids. Well,
the guy that played him, I'd like you not to,
didn't the character doctor, I.

Speaker 7 (06:40):
Don't, I don't.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
I don't remember he did follow. I only went Megi
died right there.

Speaker 5 (06:44):
That's you think it wasn't it clubb or Lang hit
him or something?

Speaker 6 (06:48):
Right?

Speaker 2 (06:48):
That was was it?

Speaker 6 (06:50):
No?

Speaker 2 (06:50):
I'm sorry that was me.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
So but so this last season they announced this is it,
and so there's.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
Just and you are sad by the way, extremely wet,
I mean, the way it ended and look forward to
at one point, I'm gonna ahead and say this, because
they were more invested in Cobra Kay. They're more upset
about Cobra Kay being over than Canada beating the USA
and hockey. Yeah, because you're more investing, you're more invested
in Cobra.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
It's just some things that there was some twists and
turns in season six. I wasn't I wasn't prepared for.

Speaker 5 (07:21):
I wish America.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
And matter of fact, when Terry sat down and saw
one that we weren't prepared for, she went, what, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
I think it was Honey had three the villain. It
was back. Yes, he's back three. I think I don't
remember three. Adler, I know you're a mean guy. Rich,
very rich. We'll talk about it badly. Yeah, Butler, I
know you're upset about the hockey loss last night. Yes,
and overtime down to the last moment.

Speaker 5 (07:48):
I didn't watch it because I'm old and I had
to go to sleep. But yes, I'm very upset.

Speaker 3 (07:52):
Well, it was appointment TV for the family last night.
I'm gonna tell you you saw the whole thing. I
watched up to the end of the second period, and
then I just had to make a decision.

Speaker 5 (08:02):
In my mind, I pretended this was the that was
the whole game.

Speaker 8 (08:05):
Yeah, I like, I'm just gonna pretend like this is
a college basketball game and it's got a first half
of the second half, and I watched Canada. I actually
did see that score. Did you see him score in
the second USA two to one? And then you Canada
came back and you kind of had this feeling like.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
Uh, those goalies or something.

Speaker 8 (08:24):
The skill and the speed and the quickness was just
flipping this tiny little thing around like it's a My goodness.

Speaker 9 (08:30):
I was.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
I will say this.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
I don't think the NHL knew the response was going
to be the way they did, but my goodness, they
found something. Because when is the last time in a
professional sport, which is a glorified All Star Break game, Okay,
that you've had players that are in the All Star
Game going this is the biggest game of my career
and they've won the Stanley.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
Cup and it's still with them.

Speaker 3 (08:56):
Well, I mean, just representing your country and stuff is
to them and chatter maybe just because they're.

Speaker 5 (09:02):
Talking about it, but it does feel like there was
more chatter on this.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
Yeah, but it became something because it's the first four
Nations face off, which is it's a tournament with the
four teams. If you're just it's Finland, Sweden, Canada and
US and it's a it's the All Star Break, it's
the All Stars. Let me ask you this, So this
is This is really cool for a for a sport
that we we look at the All Star games like
the Pro Bowl, it's a waste of time. The Major

(09:27):
League Baseball kind of has that is going to get
like the NBA. They just walking around, you know, playing horse,
you know, and and just the shooting and dunking and
letting them run up and down the court.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
It's like, yeah, no defense. This was pretty cool as
far as just an All Star game, well, it's a
better way. It's a better way to do All Stars.
And Hockey did to say, well, whatever country you play for,
go play for them, and y'all play chick. That's actually
a great idea they years ago, and I may be
wrong on this that they had it set up the
just the Americans against the rest of the world, like
you made All Star team of people that were not American,

(09:59):
and I'm have made that up playing the odds, right. Yeah, Well,
we still tried different.

Speaker 8 (10:07):
We still spank Canada in their own hounds earlier in
the tournament.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
So that counts for something. And as I expected, y'all
completely forgot about me completely, and I felt it. I
could tell when it happened. I could sense that y'all
forgotten where I leave his building. Yeah, there was a
moment where I looked around and I said, they have
no idea why we did? We did right now, I'll
be right.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
This is the Rick Burchers Show. Blood casting from the World,
The Rick Burcher Show.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
Welcome back, nickname, like to do today, likes to unpack,
Looking forward to chatting with you America. Hey day day,
the number six big Vox. We'll be checking voice smail
again today and a couple of hay bird, Hey bird,

(11:11):
So got those who'll run through today?

Speaker 6 (11:13):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
And of course we do know we'll have a Burgess
ball battle today, So we didn't. We didn't talk a
lot about the game last night. Didn't see him, but
obviously I was in South Carolina. We'll talk about that here.
Uh in a in a moment, baby brother forgot that's
no yea support. Yeah, I could really feel that. Yeah,

(11:36):
it felt a lot like a brisk code win.

Speaker 6 (11:38):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
But so we got done cross the bridge. I know
you'd crossed the bridge, grets I go there, that door
slams behind me. Thank you. Here's to answer all your concerns. Yes,
I got home safely, so I figured they won me up.
If you didn't all right, Well, I was going to
update you on maybe the decisions that were made for
Christ last night, but it didn't involve peanuts, so I'll
leave that alone, was right. So anyway, so you gave

(12:05):
me the stuff here. Yeah, some people saying, really the
way things are going, didn't the USA win anyway, because
Canada is gonna be the fifty first state.

Speaker 3 (12:13):
Look, look, President Trump will not come off calling him governor.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
True, and I love that. If he gets to you
and knows it, Oh, I just love him. Let me
tell you, he's like a shark. He starts smelling that blood. Yeah,
you know what, somebody goes for the keel.

Speaker 10 (12:28):
So uh so.

Speaker 2 (12:29):
Anyway, Uh, it went into overtime. It was a two
to two draw in regulation, correct, and then Canada scored
to win in the extra period. So is it is
it sudden death? If someone wins, that's it. If someone scores,
that's it. No, they play a period. That's what I like,
an eight manhole period. Yeah, ok, yeah, and I think

(12:51):
Canada because I was sound asleep at the time, but
I think they scored maybe eight minutes in the extra period. Uh.
And then and then the US couldn't get a goal
in that I got it. I got a sports question. Okay,
it's eleven, okay, okay, so they play good night sious
twelve minutes I got normally, I think the periods are twenty.
I think this is where I you know, hockey people

(13:15):
are going. Hockey people just know that we're trying. We
are trying, getting so hard. Just embrace that, and if
we get things wrong, we're sorry, and well, you know.

Speaker 5 (13:25):
We might have lost. But at least we've got some
houses that are affordable.

Speaker 3 (13:28):
Can I will tell you this, Okay, at least at
least that last night was the first time that I
can ever say I was trying to hurry up and
get home before the putt drop.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
Yes, and I've never been I've never said that in
my life. But there was a people needed to go
to the grocery store, and we had to carry out
for dinner, and I'm trying to hurry up and get
back before at the start of the game. What did
you get? That's a little bit hibachi stuff.

Speaker 5 (13:55):
Okaybachi people are saying.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
People are saying it is sudden death, sudden no, no,
as soon as going on how much times? Really, once
somebody scores, that's the end. Okay, yeah, I don't know,
it's hockey. I thought they just played that extra period,
maybe acting like the game's over. I guess, yeah, Okay, look,
I don't know. Yeah, I asked the hockey people tell us,
and they're telling us. Okay, well, Taylor's even Yeah. The

(14:21):
reason why I were good, the reason it's sudden death.

Speaker 5 (14:24):
The reason why I said that most people don't know
that it's sudden death.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
I don't know if y'all knew this. I coached little lacrosse, okay,
oh yeah, And in lacrosse, which is very hockey like
on grass, it's sudden death in overtime, Okay, whoever scores that,
that's that's the end. That's it. They put time up there.
But if somebody scores, that's it.

Speaker 5 (14:42):
I'm watching it.

Speaker 2 (14:43):
Let mean, if the time runs down, nobody scores it.

Speaker 8 (14:45):
They just go as the time double Taylor, double sudden death,
asked Taylor.

Speaker 2 (14:49):
I don't think so, so yeah. So when Canada scored
that was it?

Speaker 6 (14:53):
Man?

Speaker 1 (14:54):
That hurts well.

Speaker 5 (14:56):
They claim that we're they think they're so much better
than us because they.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
Of up north.

Speaker 8 (15:00):
But guess what, everybody in the country lives in the
south of the country right on the line. Y'all are
all y'all act like you're better, but you're just a
bunch of rednecks.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
You're from the South, Okay, no better than us. Don't
have a lot of people sides maple syrup? What you got?
Y'all got syrup? What else? Nothing? We got? We got
cities with more people, and y'all got the whole country, Yes, and.

Speaker 11 (15:20):
We got we got we got black people and Mexican people.
I ain't got none of that, Okay, I don't know.
It's just a bunch of honkeys up north there better
than us.

Speaker 5 (15:31):
So a bunch of holsers.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
Yes.

Speaker 3 (15:33):
So JC calls me and you know, if your if
your kids call you and they're like in college or something,
you know, Oh, normally it's a text and we've talked
about that.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
I see J. C.

Speaker 3 (15:43):
Colm like, hello, hey son, what's up? What's the ESPN
Plus log in?

Speaker 2 (15:50):
I forget it.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
It won't let me back in, Like, what's up? We're
having the team over. I'm like, you're having the team
over for what? It's a watch party?

Speaker 12 (16:00):
You know?

Speaker 2 (16:00):
And I don't think he talked like that. Yeah, and
he said, we got it. We got your son spoke
like a muppet. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (16:07):
They had a projector, that projector for the backyard, have
a little fire, real cold, and the players were going
to come over, and I said, son, real cold.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
Aren't you supposed to be leaving for a road trip
that in the morning? Like okay.

Speaker 3 (16:20):
So they had this huge watch That'll let you know
the hype around it. I mean, you know, you got
a bunch of you know, college kids that are having
this watch party.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
Well, as I've said, we have a young generation of
Americans that are more open to hockey. I'm talking about
across the country. I know, I know there are hockey
places in our country up in the Northeast where hockey
is keen. Yeah, but you know, we didn't really have
it coast to coast, right and where it's I feel it, Yeah,
starting to expand a little bit.

Speaker 5 (16:47):
Yeah yeah, So I mean game rough, guys. I mean
they are trying hard, such such skill.

Speaker 8 (16:53):
They're just flipping it around like a little pancake at
a million miles an hour.

Speaker 5 (16:56):
It's spatula work. It's amazing.

Speaker 3 (16:59):
Terry was sitting there. It's the first time she's ever
like sat down and watched a hockey game. And she's like, Wow,
there's a lot going on, a lot of Wow. It
never stops.

Speaker 2 (17:07):
The rules. Yeah, and we wish we knew them better.
What we're trying I just confusing.

Speaker 8 (17:12):
Yeah, when when Canada tied it up, I saw like
one of our players trip before that, and it's like that,
just that small little thing. We got one player that's
momentarily out of position and then Canada scored. That was
in the second I only watched the second period, but
it just shows how important like staying information and being
in a field position or whatever.

Speaker 5 (17:33):
Rate hockey.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
What did you say?

Speaker 5 (17:34):
Field position position, ice position.

Speaker 8 (17:39):
It's an interesting game and I understand it really got
it unlock. I analyzed it the game.

Speaker 6 (17:46):
I know the game.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
Let me ask this, and this is you know, a
typical US. We're talking about something and then we'll take
a rite. Yeah. Period I know college basketball plays has,
but did they still call if you play four we
called it periods basketball? It was they play halves. I'm
not talking I'm talking about college. I'm talking about high school.

(18:08):
I don't know pro that play actually four quarters. I
don't think they call them periods anymore. Everybody on the
scoreboard it had period written up there and it had
their lines. Well, I think maybe there was some kind
of movement that women didn't want to call that anymore.
I get I heard about that. Maybe that was so
you know that, I'm okay. High school basketball? What do
you call it? The build up for the would we boo?

Speaker 3 (18:28):
The national anthem for Canada, The hype around that was
all here we go And apparently the lady that sang
the anthem changed the lyrics to dog Trump and I
didn't even pick up.

Speaker 2 (18:40):
Yeah, what I'll tell you what you need? What doctor governor?

Speaker 1 (18:43):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Time is running out.

well tomorrow, Rich Wingo, Ted Traylor and I'll wrap up
the weekend. Chuck Hootin has worship Greg and Speedy there
representing the show. Go by it and say hello to

(20:22):
them in the lobby as well. We won't get food again,
all right, So let's not do this, America. Let's not
do this. I knew this was going to happen. Let's
not do this. Well, you know, we didn't have all
our players. Some of our players were sick. We have
people get injured. Let's don't be That's what cas game.

(20:44):
That's what Canadians do, not Americans. Okay, we went to overtime.
It was sudden death. Canada beat us, straight up. We don't.
We don't make excuses. Okay, that's not America. And uh
I understand also last night that.

Speaker 3 (21:00):
I'm want to correct you on Trump. Oh me, I
thought it was a mistake. I thought Trump sent that out.
It was somebody else. I just want to tell you said.

Speaker 2 (21:09):
That does make us less, that makes it less funny.

Speaker 3 (21:11):
I know, I just wanted. I just want to make
sure I got you now. He did send something out
prior to the game on True Social He said, I'll
be calling the great American hockey team this morning to
spur uh, to spur them on towards victory. He goes
on to say some things. He says, uh, as they
play Canada with with far lower taxes and much stronger security,

(21:32):
will someday, maybe soon become our cherished and very important
fifty First, it was.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
So good, so good. But they're saying that some Canadian
tried to work in some anti Trump lyric and singer
and the and the Canadian anthem was was it a
Canadian that sang it? Yeah, lady, but who knows the
words to that? So Adler has the correct lyrics? And

(22:01):
then what she's saga, Yeah, she said, I thought, I know,
I know, you'd have thought the way they were acting
that she like said, well.

Speaker 5 (22:13):
Directly to Trump.

Speaker 8 (22:15):
So she wrote on her hand the phrase, oh no,
that only us command, which then she posted a picture
of it and you can't even read it.

Speaker 2 (22:24):
So there's that. Okay, it's a terrible you know what
she should write in her hand Without America, we couldn't exist.
Write that on your hand.

Speaker 8 (22:33):
Yeah, and the original lyric is in all of us command,
and she changed it to that only US command.

Speaker 5 (22:50):
You're going to dance like intimidatingly.

Speaker 2 (22:54):
Yeahs come.

Speaker 5 (23:10):
There it is that only was coming And as it is,
I don't know the lyrics.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
I thought she was going to say something like, and
Trump is a wrong we're gonna get I mean, I can't.
Nobody can follow that America. Most Americans like, they're like,
that's anti Trump, and Americans like, huh. She changed one
word that was original, Trump is big wrong.

Speaker 3 (23:38):
She had a little bit of nervous voice in the beginning.
There were those booths tapered off and then everybody just
started singing. So wasn't that The boos weren't that bad.
But you could hear a couple of them prior good.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
Well, here's an idea. All if you don't want no
Canada boot, don't don't booth the star Spangled banner, don't
you dare? At least they didn't get in a fist
fight like they did last Now everybody was yeah, and
Trump is on me. Somebody on the text about the
movie Slap Shot, Oh, what a great movie. The Hands

(24:08):
and Tripp, what a great We go out there and
just hammer. It was fantastic. I don't remember everything about it,
so I'm not promoting the movie, but I do remember
that same day with the movie Goon. It's pretty good too,
but I'm sure there's horrible stuff in it. You'll quote
Gooon in a second dune. By the way, Greg was
not asking about what they called the periods in hockey.
He did it. He didn't even even called it. He

(24:30):
took a right turn. He was asking when we were
growing up in high school basketball, you played four periods.
Are they still calling it that in high school basketball?
Or is it four quarters? Is it four quarters now?
So that changed the scoreboard out? Yeah, I don't know.
I just thought i'd asked, Yeah, how about this old Canada.

(24:50):
We don't care. I don't I'm not even worried about it.

Speaker 3 (24:52):
Yeah, I mean Governor Trudeau tried to get out on
X and dog Trump too. Yeah he needs to say yeah,
but he's getting controlled on and stops like with what
you've done to Canada, buddy, you just resigned?

Speaker 2 (25:05):
What you talk JOHNK when they have just voted you out?
Yeah he's so done. Yeah that that is what.

Speaker 5 (25:12):
Go back to Cuba.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
That's like Dad's homeland exactly. This is like thinking about,
like you know, this would be like after the National
Championship that year that TCU was revealed as a pretender.
What was it sixty three to seven? Like the next
day somebody from TCUs after talking trash. Yeah, I mean
everybody be like, what do you all want to see?

(25:33):
Where Frog doesn't need to be saying anything.

Speaker 8 (25:36):
No, he needs to be going back to some halloween
parties wearing inappropriate costumes.

Speaker 2 (25:41):
What you just don't forget?

Speaker 5 (25:43):
You pretends to be so woke. Give me a break.

Speaker 8 (25:46):
It's all pandering bull Okay, here is when it's one,
it's one to one in the second, here's USA gonna
go up two to one on Canada.

Speaker 5 (25:55):
And I just pretended like this was the end of
the game.

Speaker 2 (25:57):
Is this one of the brothers at score? I think
so America. I wish that I could be good enough
to be because I think I would have loved being
a hockey player.

Speaker 5 (26:14):
Oh you would have been slamming.

Speaker 2 (26:16):
But I mean they're they're skating is not just kind
of good, it's exceptionally it's amazing. Everything about the game.
We we love everything about the game. When I I skated,
it looks like the ice. When I I skated, it
looks like before I started. I went first and set
on the broom and walked. And I'm trying to skate
with with a broomstick in my rear. End I can't.
I can't. I look terrible on them. But I would

(26:38):
have loved to have been a good hockey player. That
would have been fantastic.

Speaker 5 (26:41):
Yeah, I can't go backwards.

Speaker 2 (26:42):
I'd be sitting here right now with my two fake
front teeth. No teeth, just go with no teeth. I
love it.

Speaker 8 (26:51):
Speaking of teeth, have you noticed the mouthguards are just
being chewed on? Like great, Like these guys are amped
up ready to rock, and they're just chewing away on
those mouth guards during the breaks, kind of like Steph
Curry kind of move.

Speaker 12 (27:03):
You know.

Speaker 2 (27:04):
Well, and you know, I've also noticed my homes won't
leave his mouthpiece alone. Yeah, you know a lot of that.

Speaker 5 (27:09):
Yeah, and so anyway, it's a little distracting.

Speaker 2 (27:12):
Yeah, yeah, Okay, well, okay, so here's the here's the problem.
We've done. We've done all this talk about it, and
it's almost like we're just not coming to terms with it. Hey,
we lost, we did, we did lose.

Speaker 5 (27:26):
We are, we're winners. Still, our country is better, right.

Speaker 2 (27:30):
We'll get the last laugh when they're the fifty first state.
That's we did losing hockey. And Greg made a point,
all fair minute ago you did. It's not like we
got beat by some scrubs. When it comes to hockey.
They're like the best, They're the Kings, they are the Kings.
The Russians, yeah, kings.

Speaker 3 (27:45):
Yeah, thankfully the Russians didn't get involved well because don't
that don't how to act.

Speaker 2 (27:49):
So they're like, now y'all aren't in it. The Russians
over fighting in the war. Yeah, the skating for them.
Did do the Russians even do the hockey thing. You
don't know, they used to be just oh my goodness,
quit asking hockey.

Speaker 8 (28:00):
There was a lone of us know, yeah, we don't know.
There was that whole you know, cheating scandal at the
Olympics and stuff.

Speaker 2 (28:05):
So yeah, I know about all that, but I mean
I'm talking about like if we said, hey, we want
Russia to play. Do they have a team now, I
don't know, because I saw a promo for twenty twenty
six Winter Olympics. Yeah, the US team USA or what next.

Speaker 8 (28:19):
February in Italy, twenty twenty six Winter Olympics is when
it'll all.

Speaker 13 (28:24):
We're going to get him back to what we're gonna
do because we're America hockey.

Speaker 2 (28:31):
Yeah. But by the way, by the way, it's this
whole Ukrainian Russian thing, which it's all bad. It's all bad,
not good. And for some reason, I'm started, for some
reason talking like George H. W. Bush not good, not proven.
But I told you to watch David kappaf I told
you all to watch Zelenski when when I took a

(28:52):
lot of heat for that and I told y'all, yeah,
and I told y'all to keep it.

Speaker 11 (28:56):
I did.

Speaker 2 (28:56):
I didn't trust him. I don't trust him. I'm not
I'm not pooting, I'm not pro potent. I'm just saying
I'm not sure. There's it's just it's just as not
as like we try to make everything, you know, a
sitcom or a movie. This is the good guy, this
is the bad guy. When you're dealing with countries with
all that kind of corruption. It's never that simple.

Speaker 5 (29:17):
And we didn't come from a sitcom though.

Speaker 2 (29:19):
Well, yeah, that's true.

Speaker 1 (29:20):
This is the Rick Burger's Show. The people who don't
like this show, you wouldn't like anyway, the Rick Burger's Show.

Speaker 2 (29:38):
Come on, come hang out with the go kids. All right.

let me let me just warn everybody. Grewesome topic, grewesome topic, warning,

(31:09):
grewesome topic. Greg has already told me about it, speedy,
you were talking about it too. I've heard about it.
It comes out of the state of Alabama. And again
here's Calhoun County again in the news. Oh boy, the
pig incident. Yes, did you know that there's an update? No,
I did not from the email. Hey Burge, Hey Burge,

(31:31):
you need to look into this. We do know this happened. Caution, gruesome, accute,
leave of making this up. He's what to call and
told me he lives, man found deceased. And I'm going

(31:51):
to try to be as delicate as I can be
with this. A line drone to pigs, and there's wondering.
You know, we know that they were there and he
had injuries from and he had injuries and they were there,
I say, doing what pigs do with dead bodies? Am

(32:11):
I right? He was under the car, was trying to
get away from he was running. Update. A second person
has been attacked by the same pigs. No been transported
to the hospital. What is up with those pigs? Go
hunt these when they say pigs, these are the big
three hundred pounders. Why have we not put these pigs down?

(32:31):
Why were they? Why were these people the people did
they have to attack? Why were these pigs? And now
again this is coming from hay Bird, hay Burge. This
is not a journalist. And so you know this person
says that this he's telling us the truth. We'll look
into it. But we knew about the first one. Yeah,
because you know a very reliable source, little Lye. Hubbard.

(32:53):
Yeah yeah, And he straight right there in his neighborhood. Right,
oh boy, here we go. And there's this person is claiming,
of course, and he would know because this sounds like
he's from Piedmont because his name is Dwayne. Okay, Wayne,
And he said this is straight up and he said,
hey Bird, he Burg. Have you heard a second attack?
Second attack?

Speaker 14 (33:11):
I have not.

Speaker 2 (33:11):
And they were trying to determine if the first attack
was just basically that's what guiled him or you know,
but you're right when hate speculate when journalists little Lee Hubbard,
the Voice of Calvin County, when he was saying, the
big question is already passed from something else and pigs

(33:31):
arrived on the scene or are they the clean up
crew or did they calls it and they're finishing the job.
You know, the pigs are known for, yes, cleaning up.
This person is saying, this person is saying second attack.

Speaker 3 (33:44):
So we actually had a news report here that says
that according to a new report, it says there has
been a second incident involving the same pigs as yesterday afternoon.
This is when this was real, all right, So Dwayne
knows what he's talking about, where a second person was attacked.
ICTs were dispatched to the same address, uh in response
to a person bleeding. Apparently the pigs have been quarantined

(34:07):
under the care of a vet after the initial and
they need to be put down, and they were returned
to the property. Their return, unidentified person on the property
was attacked and transported to the hostel.

Speaker 2 (34:18):
They've had a taste of human is a developing story
that we're reaching out this look, really is a p monster?
Is this how it feels to be Greg? Because I'm
having so many right agains today. I've warned everybody about
the way animals have been acting and if they were
turning on us at an alarming rate, I'm going to
ask a tough question here the old Greg police. There's
so many tough questions you could ask here, and you're willing,

(34:40):
I know that. Would you rather it's what we think
it was consuming all right, which they'll do. They'll do it.
And if they take that pig out? Would you eat
the bacon from that pig? Oh my gosh, breakfast? I
could well, but there'd be a sight of me that
would say, and now we win.

Speaker 5 (35:00):
It's for revenge, it's for human kind.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
What I eat revenge? Bacon?

Speaker 5 (35:04):
Maybe bacon, egg, breakfast, taco, let's go.

Speaker 2 (35:07):
Did it somehow get something weird getting the meat? Because
I don't think it'd be enough time or just it'd
be a tough piece of bacon. I ain't gonna lie
about that. Well, I'm just talking about just as you say, manly,
if somebody said, guess guess where this bacon came from,
it would change things. There's no question about that he does.
What if he had a hamhog? No, that's too much. Yeah, bacon,

(35:28):
only a slice of bacon, just as kind of a
real quick in your face. But I'm not going on
something like, you know, a pork tenderloin, nothing like that.
You know, they're they're they're intelligent animals. Here he goes
with us. Again they are, and they can swim, so
they probably figured this out. Well, well, I would tell
you system. Once they took somebody down and as you
just said, Greg, and we're successful. How we just returned

(35:50):
them to the property. That's weird. I don't like that
at all. Somebody needs to be held accountable.

Speaker 3 (35:54):
From reading the initial article on this and a news
a news article where they say that the police department
and rescue were responding in reference to deceased white male
under a vehicle like we just all talked about. It
goes into detail I won't read, but they said that

(36:14):
was sustained obvious injuries from his own hogs. They were
out of the fence and he retreated under a vehicle. Wow,
my goodness. It says it looks to be didn't get
far and of them, and they say they're investigating more.
We're trying to get more information that he was attacked

(36:35):
by his own pigs.

Speaker 2 (36:35):
There it is, so we quarantined them for disease and
then just return these rogue human killing pigs back to
the same pen they got out of and they've injured
somebody else. Man, No, we're not doing that.

Speaker 8 (36:51):
You guys have seen that the pig's fault. Yeah, no,
it is to you guys have seen that diamond heist
movie Snatch. The mobster use his pigs to dispose of bodies.
They can go right through bone, they can bite.

Speaker 2 (37:04):
I've heard about that. I don't know that movie. I
heard that in reality that is something. Yeah, I've heard
they used to get right now. They don't like cucumbers.
We all know that. But there, Greg, can we talk
about pigs about you bring because they'll eat something old,
rotten something, but they won't need a cucover. I don't
know if on a sad note, I've never I'll tell
you what they will eat.

Speaker 5 (37:25):
Yeah, okay, pigs will eat cucumbers, Greg, I'm googling.

Speaker 2 (37:28):
You know. They don't.

Speaker 5 (37:29):
They'll eat trash.

Speaker 2 (37:30):
They don't like cucumbers.

Speaker 5 (37:31):
They'll eat people's toes, everybody.

Speaker 2 (37:33):
They don't care everybody knows that. How about the man
that that was under the car was only fifty one?
Oh no, oh my gosh, that's so sad. That got
me to the point I got to crawl up under
a car.

Speaker 5 (37:45):
That's like Jurassic Park stuff.

Speaker 2 (37:48):
I will tell you something. One time we were get
on top of the car, a you're getting under it.

Speaker 10 (37:52):
We hurt.

Speaker 4 (37:53):
We had to go into a hog pen instead of
one time and they're aggravating his crap. They would grab
the wire, run off with it, and then they would
I mean, we'd likely they never got the thing. No,
in course they kept running off of stuff.

Speaker 2 (38:05):
Your tools, but they're really they're a headful. And then
we piled a bunch of dirt up you. So what's
that on? They got over rooted it all out. You
should have been rowdy if i'd have a few coming
when you got your job though. Top of the hour.
If you're that's all, you're gonna hang with us today,

(38:26):
catch the archives later today we'll be back.

Speaker 1 (38:28):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Listen up, you know
what we say.

Speaker 2 (38:51):
You gotta find.

Speaker 1 (38:57):
Broadcasting from the world The Rich Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (39:02):
That's right, real deal baby, still to come. The Vox
seats will be full today. Burgess Ball battles still to come.
Two people go head to head. The winner takes a
spin of the wheel of bundles, bits and bucks. They
could walk away with one thousand dollars today, so we'll

(39:26):
see we've had winners already. Speedy Gregg Adler all here today.
Thank you for taking time to be with us as
we work through another day. From the Hayburg Hayburge email,
Hey bird, Hey Burge, it's Hambone. What's up, Hambon? What's

(39:48):
going Hambon? If the boy meane the world to me?
If you could wish Mentley his daughter a fifteenth birthday today,
little tiny, little tiny miss Hambumuh. And so there you go,
Happy birthday to you Mentley. From from the Whost Show.

(40:09):
As we as we start the hour, you know, we're continued.
There's so many things that we're we you know, it
takes time, many times for the truth to come out,
and so now we have yet another and this is
that thing where we're living now, where there's no more.
And I actually had a discussion about this yesterday with someone.

(40:30):
We were discussing, you know, and I hope we are
finding a way out of it and here on this show.
In the real world, we are going to not participate
in this and this is this notion that we can
no longer have diverse opinions. Hey, I believe that this
is how let's use politics. This is how I vote,

(40:52):
and I vote this, this, and this because I believe
that's the best choice for me. However, I do not
think that the party I voted for or the person
I voted for is perfect. And there's a few things
that I don't like. Well, you're not allowed to do
that anymore, you know, once you declare I'm just using
this example. It happens on a lot of things. Once
you declare your political affiliation, then you're assigned your point

(41:15):
of view and you cannot vary at all. That's new.
That's not the way things used to be, and it's
actually dangerous. You know, we're very you know, there's a
lot things are not always so black and white. It's
okay to have variations, and it's okay to say, even
someone that you support in this particular situation, I don't
think they handled that well or it didn't go well.

(41:37):
You know, you're not allowed to do that anymore. And
then on the other side, you know, people want to
sign you all these other views if you vote for
the left. Well, I voted for the left, but I
believe life starts a conception. Well you're not allowed that.
I vote for the left, but I believe that marriage
is between a man and a woman. Well you're not
allowed to do that, then you can't be here. Yeah,
you know, Hey, I'm over here on the right, but

(41:58):
I actually think that, Hey, this is I disagree with
you all on this. Well, you can't be on the right,
you know. That's that's that's not healthy. Uh, and it's
not the way we should be. Well, the same thing
is happening while we're all trying to look back over
the pandemic and sort out what was true what was
not true. And it's like, you're not allowed. And so

(42:19):
now the people who have been injured by the vaccines,
and those people do exist, it's real, Okay. Now, that
doesn't mean that the vaccine here I go, being diverse
was was dangerous for everybody to your an anti vacxer. Huh, well,
well now watch this. Now I'm in no man's land.
The people who are thought the VACS was a negative,

(42:42):
and I would be more in that camp than a positive.
Now I'm not allowed to say it was positive at all.
I have to say it was dangerous for everybody, and
everybody who took it is doom. Well that's not true either.

Speaker 5 (42:54):
You'll see that that Yale study that just came out.

Speaker 2 (42:56):
Well, that's what I'm about to talk about. Okay, so
but but the well, the reason why I'm going to
this study is because these people are voicing what I
just said. They're saying, we are people that had an adverse,
severe adverse reaction to the vaccine. It has destroyed our lives.
And everybody acts that we don't exist. You know, it's

(43:18):
because if you're someone that wants to keep on the
narrative that the VACS was the greatest thing ever created
and if everybody would have taken it, nobody would have died,
which is completely absurd. But if you're in that camp,
so you can't allow these people to exist, They're like, well,
we do exist, and even though there may not be
a huge number of us, we do exist, and it

(43:39):
is a risk that people and you know, we do
have states, quietly, quietly, we do have states that are
kind of moving away from the COVID vaccine and the
reason why is I don't understand its purpose anymore. What
purpose does it possibly serve them, because we're so beyond
on mutations for it to keep anyone from getting it

(44:01):
or passing it. And then I guess they keep still
trying to sell you that it'll make it if you
get it, it'll make your experience less severe. And I'm
not sure that they have a whole lot of science
to support that either, since people who haven't taken any
of the vaccines also have it and have no problem
with it. So I don't know how we tie that
to the vaccine, because some people don't have a problem

(44:21):
with it, some people did based on various reasons. Again,
it's a little more complicated than the movies we try
to create. So the Yell study has found that the
shots have caused extreme body changes to people. This is
from Yale, not exactly a conservative bunch, and it says
that there's a lot There are dozens. They spoke to

(44:42):
dozens of Americans, including those in health care law in
the military, who say they're now having a sense of
validation because they kept telling everybody this vaccine has destroyed
my health and destroyed my body, and they were saying
nobody would listen to us because they said, if you

(45:02):
spoke out against the vaccine in any way to your
point speed to you just said it, you were punished.
You were not allowed to say negative things about the vaccine,
and you couldn't even come out and say, no, I
really am in trouble because of it. You're not allowed.
You can't do it, and we have and we can't
do it, and we have to pretend you don't exist.

(45:23):
So they say that there's an estimation that you have
to look at Maderna and Pfizer there m are in
a vaccine. You have to look at this one side
and say, okay, how many lives did it help? Well,
I don't have a problem with that, but you have
to at the same time say how many people did
it hurt? Okay, now we can say that we were

(45:46):
told it could do things that it wasn't doing. We
all know that. Now you know this the narrative of
if you take this vaccine you you won't get it
anymore and you won't pass it to anybody else. That
just turned out to be a hunt distance And we
were told that by somebody who actually worked on the
technology that that was focus. Take it for your neighbor.
Do you not love your you know, you know, don't
look I had people don't know. I was at a gathering.

(46:09):
We were we were talking about missionaries and missions around
the world and sharing I set it at a table
with our eyes wide open, and we were lambasted for
not taking the vaccine and saying that we that we
we were saying we we we're here to not claiming
we love people. It didn't sound like y'all love people.
That kind of garbage, Okay, Uh, But anyway, so we

(46:30):
we now are realizing that there there are people and
they are now being heard. You know they En't It
funny how because a lot of times the people who
don't want you to be heard are always saying things
like people need to be heard, and I hear you
unless you disagree with me, and then I don't want
you to be heard at all. So So anyway, Uh,
they're discovering a course in some people. You know, this

(46:53):
this syndrome that we know this is this happens actually
with some people. Sadly, I know some of you are
going to get mad me saying it, but I know
someone who died from this.

Speaker 15 (47:00):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (47:01):
In the flu vaccine. The flu shot has also called
what is it called the syndrome bar Bar. Yeah. Yeah,
And they said that epstein bar, that it actually awakened
that dormant virus epstein Bar in people, which which interferes
with your immune system actually makes it worse and can
lead to paralysis. Uh. Also, we've got people with all

(47:24):
kinds of heart problems, of blood clot problems, people who
are now in wheelchairs because of the physical attack of
the the negatives that their body, you know, experience because
of the because of the vaccine. So when you have
yell finally saying y'all come on out, let's at least
now these people are allowed to be heard. You know,

(47:47):
I don't. I still have never in my life understood
any group of people that scream up and down that
they are they are choice. Choice, choice people are to
have a choice, choice, choice, choice. But then for some
reason they always try to to throw barriers up in

(48:07):
roadblocks for people to make informed choices. If we really
want people to make a choice, and I don't have
a problem with that, let's make sure though, that we're
all making informed choices and that you don't pick and
choose the information I'm allowed to access because it might
not fit your end game.

Speaker 6 (48:24):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (48:24):
And you know, I say the same thing about you know,
abortion on demand. I don't understand people who are for that.
But then they they're against women having all the information,
so then they make a choice they want to hide
information from them. Well, that doesn't sound like that you're
really for choice. That sounds like you're you've got some
weird agenda. So I found that to be true during
the pandemic involving these vaccines in masks, and it just

(48:48):
it just got weird. And so now we are discovering that,
you know, there really was, It really is factual that
for some people of the vaccine was very very dangerous in.

Speaker 5 (49:00):
The long COVID they called it long COVID. A lot
of those cases seem to be long vaccine.

Speaker 2 (49:04):
Yeah, that's in this study too. They're saying brain fog, dizziness,
can't exercise anymore very long without running out of wind.
That that's actually tied to the vaccine, not COVID.

Speaker 1 (49:15):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the man who pointed
out that there is no such thing as boneless wings.

(49:35):
Rick Birches, thank you very much.

Speaker 2 (49:39):
Kenny Osborn all right. So I will say this, and
by the way, some of you that we're talking about
epstein Bar syndrome versus gilliam bar. The article had epstein
Bar in It is why I said that, and that
is what they think is causing that mono weak feeling.
But also some people that were paralyzed from other vaccines

(50:01):
like the flu shot that was the gillion bar. But
in the story they were talking about they found epstein
Bar syndrome. So you're right, they're two different things, but
that is what was in the article. Also from the
text line. Just my observation. I don't speak for anybody
but myself, but since I've been awake this today on
the show, it's been kind of heavy. Was looking to

(50:22):
laugh about this morning. It is a Friday before I
go out into the cruel real world. So far I've
heard about killer pigs and killer vaccines and the fact
that we lost to the Canucks in hockey. Look, well,
here's one thing I will say, though, here's what you missed.
It's wanting something like hearted, here's what you missed. Texture
you missed the boys talking about the end of Cobra Kai. Yes,

(50:44):
and you know what you missed. And on killer pigs.
I'm sorry. I thought you could have got a little
bit of smile when we asked would we eat bacon
from these pigs? Yeah? Okay, so it was dark comedy.
I'll grant you that sick, get it, I mean vaccines
causing Roseanne bar right. So but we're but we're here

(51:06):
with you. Okay, we're here with you right now. And
so here let'st here's some voicemails that came in. So
this may help you text her and I certainly understand
what you're saying and agree with you to some extent.
But we do a little bit of both here. But
but I'm sorry, killer pigs and killer vaccines and the
loss to the Canadians was We're all Debbie Downers so far.

(51:27):
But lit'sten. Here are the voicemails that now this this
is also we have somebody who sent us an ai
possible theme music to something else. We do out an
email called hey Bird, Hey Birds, and I've got another
hey Bird coming up, so we'll try it and say
we like it. But anyway, here here is from voicemail.
Meet this. This is a little seting we call Rick's

(51:47):
office voicemail Larry, it's not Larry Rick.

Speaker 14 (51:51):
This is your favorite President, Donald J.

Speaker 5 (51:53):
Trump Collings.

Speaker 14 (51:54):
First of all, let me say you're doing a tremendous
job in the radio. Everyone agrees, believe me. Everyone I
know thing or two about radio. Believe me, everyone agrees.
They're talking about you in China, they're talking about you
in Mexico, they're talking about you in Russia. Everyone agrees.
Nobody does it better than Rick Burgas. You're making radio
great again. And because of that, I just want you
to know I've decided to sign an executive order just

(52:17):
for you. Executive order just for you. I wouldn't do
this for anybody else.

Speaker 16 (52:20):
Just for you.

Speaker 14 (52:20):
Because everyone says Rick Burgess is the best. We're going
to pardon Rick Burgess of any involvement in the food
fight of seventy nine. That's right, most pardon. It's a
witch hunt. They're coming after you. The fake news is
saying that it was your father. But believe me, it wasn't.

Speaker 8 (52:36):
It was.

Speaker 14 (52:37):
It was all a fraud, a sham. It was Fauci.
If Fauci did it, believe me. In the second executive order,
in just to make up for last time, we're gonna
change the name of golf shows Alabama to Burgers Saws
to honor a great Rick Burgess. That's right on the
Gulf of America. It's gonna be Burgers Saws right next
to Orange Beach, the one named after me, Orange Beach.

(52:58):
You got Orange Beach in Berker of America. It's going
to be tremendous. Everyone's gonna want to go to Alabama.
Thank you for making a radio great again. Thank you
so much.

Speaker 2 (53:09):
Thank you. So that's that's kind of a surprise. Pardon
that was good stuff right there. All right, so let
me find there was another one, uh that was Yeah,
here it is. Okay, So here's another one that was
that came from the voicemail yesterday. Okay, all right, here

(53:29):
we go.

Speaker 7 (53:30):
Hey Rick, it's Tyler up here in Kentucky. I have
a thought, you know, next week's Wednesday Bible said, maybe
you should do a little diverse and uh, maybe do
something on Matthew chapter eighteen, you know, especially for Greg
talking about Jesus leaving the ninety nine to find the one.
You know, it didn't matter whether or not they brought

(53:52):
Jesus peanuts, he still left the ninety nine to find
the one. All people are important in God's life.

Speaker 2 (53:57):
Not just the ones you bring peanuts.

Speaker 7 (54:00):
Maybe a special topical especially for Greg.

Speaker 2 (54:04):
Thought anyway, I hope you have a good day.

Speaker 14 (54:07):
God bless you brothers.

Speaker 2 (54:11):
Good point. Let me tell you that's a good point.
Let me tell how hard when we were doing the
numbers of how many men were in here that day,
and so I said, Greg needs to learn that. You know,
he left, He left the thirty nine to go to
go get the one. He was the guy with the peanuts. Yeah,
so so there it is some not bringing the peanuts.
All right, So do we wanna do we want to listen?
Here's your guy here. So I'm gonna try to find

(54:33):
this since I had this already, you all, you know,
connected over here. So we were looking for a theme
music for Hey burd Hey Burge and uh and I
know that AI. I've had a lot of people send
me theme songs, you know, about the show and all that.
And I know you can get AI to make songs
about anything. Now, I will tell you Adler is not
a huge fan of that. No, musicians are very sensitive

(54:54):
about this. I like it, Yeah, I some of it
can be good.

Speaker 5 (54:57):
Yeah, most of it's very inhuman human human human, inhuman that's.

Speaker 2 (55:04):
Inhuman.

Speaker 5 (55:05):
It's kind of computery, you know, it's like almost like
it's artificial.

Speaker 2 (55:08):
Okay, it's a it is that that's what. So let's
picture ourselves because I'll even have one coming up here
in a minute. Okay, you want to a picture. We're
doing it right now and see how it feels. Yes,
all right, guys, it's still a little round of Hey bird.

Speaker 17 (55:25):
Heybird, I've got something to say. Email, text, a voicemail
to be broadcast over the radio waves.

Speaker 2 (55:41):
Hey, I've got something.

Speaker 17 (55:44):
To say, Email a voicemail to be broadcast over the
rage ways. What do you think I like to be?

Speaker 2 (56:01):
Don't be eating younger with it? Kind of goes with
that breakfast but what it's a snazzy little too, hey something.
It's different than anything else, it says.

Speaker 6 (56:15):
I like that.

Speaker 2 (56:16):
Hey guys, I got a hate merge over here. Let
me check the of course, there's one thing in it
that I've called it, Hobie loves gregadcast. I did catch
a flaw in it. Don't go on it? Da what
what I got? Your probably? Gregs technically if you want

(56:41):
to be technical about it, Hay burd is email only. Wow,
he throws in text or voicemail. Now you have read
a hay bird off text before, have a yes' Are
y'all okay with hay burds being any of those three things?
Sim up, let's try. Let's see how we like. It
may grow on me or anybody got a problem with

(57:04):
He's including voicemails and text in there.

Speaker 18 (57:06):
No, no, father, just can't really understand it. Okay, all right, yeah, boy, right,
we'll be back. I don't care about your trial Bako
trial banks. The texture is not crazy about it.

Speaker 2 (57:17):
We'll be back.

Speaker 1 (57:18):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. This is where logic
beats left the ricks.

Speaker 2 (57:32):
Let's go, you say, sex working our way back. Relief factor.
Let me tell you a lot of times this show
is fueled by relief factor. Look Live can beat you up.

(57:53):
It's hard out there and as you've heard it before,
aging ain't for sissies. So let me tell you. Let's
talk about the relief factor. And Nancy out of Springfield, Illinois,
and she says, hey, hey, hey, I've been in discomfort
for some time. Now I catch you guys on the

(58:13):
tune in app. Thank you for that. Arthritis is no friend.
It's in my hip as well as in both hands.
I'm searching. I was searching for something to help stop
the pain. Yes, I tried Motrin, boy, I remember taking
Matron all the time. Tried arthritis creams. After hearing about
the three week quick Start pack on the show, I've
been using relief Factor since early January, and I have

(58:37):
felt a huge difference in the pain level. Glad to
hear that, Nancy, I can walk without any pain whatsoever.
My fingers in both wrists move without the gouging pain
going up my arms. Thank you. The product really works
just like all of you said it would. And it's
natural too. I mean it's botanicals and the beauty thing
unlike these the beauty about this, unlike the other stuff

(58:57):
that kind of mask the pain for a little while.
Now that may do that quicker. This is a slower process,
which is why we do the three week quick start.
If it's inflammation at the root of your problem, naturally,
relief Factor is gonna solve it. And then once it
solves it, it's done. Uh So get yours now at
relief Factor dot com, relief Factor dot com or Rickburgess

(59:19):
Show dot com under the sponsors, and I look forward
to hearing your testimony. All right, so the song has
not been received well. Most people are saying that it
is too radio gooobish. Some are saying that's not your
style of use music, verge, you need more edge. This
the person singing, uh, the the the note they're using

(59:41):
is hurting our ears. And so yeah, so here's here's
what I'm going to say. I'm going to I'm going
to send back to the drawing board. We like where
you're going. We need something that sounds a little more
like us, which may which would be a rock edge.
We will not be accepted the poppy attempt. I am

(01:00:03):
now going to reject that. So if you're going to
see the Backstreet Boys in the sphere, that's right, you're
gonna be disappointed. And I know that's bad news for Hoby,
but I just don't like it.

Speaker 5 (01:00:13):
It was a little bit of a bop, but I
get what you're saying.

Speaker 2 (01:00:16):
Doesn't sound like like us lyrically. Where would you like
for them to go lyrically? Listen lyrically? I'm good. I'd
like to see us stay away from text and voicemail
because that's not really a straight Hey bird, hey bird,
hay birge is emails that people want us to deal
with on the show. I got bird a birge.

Speaker 5 (01:00:34):
I got an email that somebody wrote their own. They haven't.

Speaker 8 (01:00:38):
They just sent me the words, but it's to the
tune of Hey Jude instead Hey By.

Speaker 2 (01:00:44):
I don't mind that.

Speaker 5 (01:00:45):
Don't make it bad. Read an email and make it
and remember we live in a real world. So read
the email and make it better, is what they say.

Speaker 2 (01:00:56):
I'd like to hear it. Put the music.

Speaker 5 (01:00:57):
Okay, what about here's what I got?

Speaker 2 (01:01:00):
Like this, Greg, you know what starts off and says,
hey birds, shut up and shot there you go? Okay,
that'd be good. What about crowded house? Dragon, crowded crowded house?
No hate crowded house.

Speaker 5 (01:01:11):
I've gotta I've gotta cover ready to you ready here?

Speaker 2 (01:01:14):
I hate crowded house.

Speaker 5 (01:01:15):
Just can you even just try it?

Speaker 6 (01:01:16):
You hate it?

Speaker 2 (01:01:18):
Anything? Yeah, you're gonna get us on the game.

Speaker 5 (01:01:20):
You yeah, yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:01:21):
Okay, here.

Speaker 5 (01:01:27):
Heaba give me an answer to my questions.

Speaker 2 (01:01:33):
Heaver, that's pretty good.

Speaker 5 (01:01:38):
It sounded really good, right.

Speaker 2 (01:01:40):
Gods, Nail, could you just rework well? Could you just rework?
Love is not lonely and working birds? Okay? Okay, we
need a classic. We need something. This has got this's
got some hold. Yeah, that's right. You remember, honestly, do
you do your thank you? But do you remember listen?

(01:02:02):
Honestly did you see the other day when we were
dealing with across America one of the textures actually said that,
sorry said on the show it's got the the show's
got a little more. Yeah, stand up and show.

Speaker 12 (01:02:21):
No.

Speaker 2 (01:02:21):
I know, I don't like that.

Speaker 17 (01:02:23):
You know what I love?

Speaker 2 (01:02:27):
I hate that looking. I hate that.

Speaker 14 (01:02:29):
Do not do that.

Speaker 2 (01:02:30):
I don't like that at all. I don't like that
at all.

Speaker 4 (01:02:43):
The Cookie Mustard screaming voice goes to the song loves
Hey birch.

Speaker 2 (01:02:49):
Okay, all right, that's too soft though, but it's give
us a beatles. I don't like that. I actually think
that guy thinks he's glorifying God. I think he's making
God say scaring you right, So when I said God's

(01:03:12):
even looking around going joyful noise, that's not what I'm.

Speaker 6 (01:03:16):
So.

Speaker 1 (01:03:17):
So we'll we'll.

Speaker 5 (01:03:18):
I got it what I got it? I got I
got it?

Speaker 2 (01:03:20):
You again? Pot that you up again?

Speaker 8 (01:03:22):
Yeah, I'm not gonna sing. This is this is this
is steel dragon. Stand up and shout queued up.

Speaker 2 (01:03:26):
Okay, standing up and shut its great kind of want

(01:03:50):
to blame more of it like that. Let's let's don't
do it again.

Speaker 5 (01:03:58):
Okay, I got my magic.

Speaker 2 (01:04:00):
Ken Austin out here. It's time for hay bird, hey
bird bomb up? What if we didn't have anything to
do with even the term hate birds? We just played
this eason. Let's try that all right. Let's take a look.
Guy talking to the round of hay bird. Let me

(01:04:20):
get some emails out here. We're using it. I'm gonna

(01:04:43):
run to the wall because you can't playing on I
just did. But you know whatever, there's nothing that's a
good soundtrack time. It is a good songs.

Speaker 1 (01:05:01):
They said, sit down and read.

Speaker 2 (01:05:09):
What if everything we did start having that on it?
We are going to do read America, sit down and
read everything every every time? Some nice.

Speaker 16 (01:05:29):
Bo's so crazy?

Speaker 2 (01:05:32):
Are you trying to do the metal voice? And he
sounds like misky?

Speaker 19 (01:05:37):
My boys thinking, oh that's so funny because he did
a great miss biking.

Speaker 2 (01:05:52):
He really did everything good boys.

Speaker 1 (01:05:56):
Hearts box and.

Speaker 2 (01:06:04):
Which actually leads to the haybirds haybirds I have yeah, yeah,
and it is true because you know when you go
to haybirds hay bird, uh, it deals that and this
does go back to rock and roll, and it's a
tongue in cheap thing that apparently we definitely went to inside. Now,

(01:06:24):
there were a couple of things that I was thinking about.
You see where if you're watching on YouTube, I really
thought that this would be and it is getting better.
I did think because you know, we are Big Vox Entertainment,
we are the Vox Seats, and I kind of thought
that Big Vox Entertainment would be more prominent on YouTube

(01:06:45):
than it is, so I thought you would see it more. Uh,
it's all over our website. So when we started moving
into this that we needed to do promo code and
all that. And this person's asking that, hey, can you
explain the background on what does big Vox mean? It's
in the heybird, he birds, and a lot of times

(01:07:06):
we get here we talk inside shop and seeming like
I don't know what this means and where it came from.
So when we were all growing up to email her,
we had albums and you may be too young to
know what the album is, but on the album, many bands,
instead of using the word voice, which is what vox

(01:07:26):
means in Latin, they would hip it up and say
on lead vox, whoever background the guitar and background vox,
you know, and all this, so but lead vox we
thought that was funny. So when we started the social
media world started when I was trying to do Instagram

(01:07:47):
and at the time Twitter, Rick Burgess was not available,
so we were kidding around about how loud I am
and gregarious and you know, our whole family are allowed people.
And so we started kidding around since I was lead vox,
you know, and all the bands that Greg and I
were in that we would say Rick, big vox, big

(01:08:11):
voice Burgess. Well, I understand that sometimes it sounds like
big box, and I got all that, but I thought
I kind of thought all that would be overcome. We
did it because I was trying to find something that
nobody else had duplicated that would make it uniquely us
and that you can play off box seats by saying
vox seats, you know, and and you know, so this

(01:08:33):
was but the question in hey burd Hay burds, what
does that mean? What it means is big voice. So
it's an if you'll think that in your mind every
time you'll hear it, you know, that is a v
as in you know Victor not a B because it
means voice. So that's the big boss. Yeah, that's the
background on that. And I know it's been a lot
of fun and we've cut up about a lot. But

(01:08:55):
my thought was we would overcome that because if you
look all over the website, you look in the studio,
you see it all the time, and it is my
handle on social media as well, that it would be
easy to grasp. And I know for some of you
has it been. But that's the emailer's question. So that's

(01:09:15):
the background. It just means big voice. We'll be right back.

Speaker 1 (01:09:19):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the man who informed
Dipping Ducts that they would enough. In fact, the ice
Queen of the Future, which bridges.

Speaker 2 (01:09:38):
By the way, funny texts coming in after that, Hey bird,
Hey Burge. I was never confused about this promo code
at all. I was confused by the people who are confused.
The other one. If people can't figure out the code,
they don't deserve the discount. Just how that complicated. So

(01:09:58):
that's good one part and said, so really, what you're saying, Rick,
is your nickname is loudmouth. That is correct, That's what loudmouth. Yeah,
so uh and and by the way, people are okay,
people are saying I'm still dragon instead of stand up
and shout email me now.

Speaker 20 (01:10:19):
So good.

Speaker 8 (01:10:24):
About the VOX thing, I always think of the guitar
amps v o x X and that came from that
to you because those things can sing, you know what
I mean. And then also a mixing board, the soundboard
when you've got you know, your kick and your snare
and your bass all coming down the line and it's
written in sharpie and tape your voice.

Speaker 2 (01:10:45):
V O X.

Speaker 5 (01:10:46):
I always think of that as well.

Speaker 2 (01:10:48):
It's like it yeah, so you tell we all came
from that viral but we and then there's those people
that know what it is and keep messing with me
and that and that, and I really enjoy that the
first time, you know, and then there comes a point
where if I could reach through, I would be but anyway,

(01:11:09):
but no, it's great. So we That was a good question,
And it was one of the things like I actually
had this conversation with one of our clients and uh,
and he was talking about that and he he asked
the question too, and I gave him the background. He
started laughing. He said, yeah, it's kind of what I'm
trying to tell our people, is be careful when we're
marketing that we're not using terms that we all know.

(01:11:33):
But you can't assume that are the people that were
trying to sell our product to know what this means.
We got to tell them what this is. We throw
around these phrases. And he was like, just for me,
I'm out of the loop on that. I didn't know
what that meant. And I said, okay, yeah, So I said,
we'll do some explanations from time to time, and so
that was kind of cool. Uh. And then the emailer
had that, so that that worked out perfect. We've covered it,
We've covered it, so there we go.

Speaker 3 (01:11:54):
And uh, and can I make one request before the
end of the show. Yes, and that is Greg's show
video of Millie running in circles?

Speaker 2 (01:12:02):
Yes, have you sent that Toddler? If if I could
request that, that would be awesome. Yeah, grass my psycho
dog he got video? Yeah, or Lisa did? Yeah? You
the thing this phrase that we've talked about so much,
the the what about the dog?

Speaker 9 (01:12:19):
You know?

Speaker 2 (01:12:20):
It was uh? And and you went and you've brought
puppies killed me. The puppies nearly killed you. And then
you brought in this dog that that now that people
like you, Well, let me tell you this. This dog
and to me, this is the simple one. You can't
even get packages delivered to your house because the people

(01:12:41):
who delivered the packages are afraid of the dog, and
they take them to your daughter's house. Yeah, and you
have to go over to your daughter's house. Yeah, it's
a hassle. What what what about the dog? Yeah?

Speaker 10 (01:12:52):
And that hurt.

Speaker 2 (01:12:53):
And she'll growl, like just don't turn you back on her.
You're good?

Speaker 5 (01:12:57):
Oh is that all?

Speaker 2 (01:12:58):
Yeah? No, she she growl, But great, she ain't gonna
you know what that's like saying to people. You know,
I know that plane sounds funny and it's and every
now and then the wing looks like it's about to
fall off, but trust me, it just looks like it's
gonna crash. Go ahead and get in it. Yeah, but no,
I mean, if you're telling people that a dog that
looks scary to them, you're assuring them something that I

(01:13:19):
don't know how you can assure when you see her.
She's not very big, you know what I'm saying. She's fat.
I've seen this dog. We're about to see her run
in the circle thing. I don't want a dog that
size biting me. No, I don't want any dog. I
don't want a dog bite me, period. I don't want
a mouse biting me. It's small right by the way,
I will tell you all this. Let's let's be honest.
Any animal biting you is bad, and humans biting you

(01:13:40):
is not great. You know, there's not a good bite.
But I actually, you know how every now and then
we had this weird thing and it happens in the
Deep South all the time. It'll be seventy eight degrees.
And now we're back in the in the thirties and twenties, okay,
and Chip Windshow factor like you know, way down. So
lizards don't know what to do, and what they do
they end up going trying to come in because they're like,

(01:14:02):
we came out, we thought spring was here. It wasn't.
And so a lizard litterally literally fell out of the
from the drop ceiling downstairs and landed on the one
of the little things downstairs, and sure, you know, so
I go to get it. And now this is a
lizard that doesn't even have teeth. I mean, it's got
those little tiny and for some reason, though, when I
picked it up and it latched on my finger, I

(01:14:23):
didn't like the way that fell. And it didn't it
didn't hurt it all. It's just a feeling. Oh my god,
you hurt My finger was so much bigger than the
lizard's mouth. And I was like it and she was
like okay, I said, I actually am that doesn't hurt
at all. I just didn't like to feel that pressure.
It's got me. And what was funny is like you

(01:14:47):
start trying to taking of course, the minute minute you
grab it, you're gonna get it, but it can't hurt you.
If you get its tail, it break. But I just
don't like the way anything when you you feel that pressure. No,
it's got you for just a minute. I don't want
a bird by yeah no, no, no, I've been like anything.
I've been bitten by burgin. I don't like that at all.

Speaker 5 (01:15:06):
Strong.

Speaker 2 (01:15:07):
Yeah it's and there's nothing they can really do, but
it feels terrible.

Speaker 5 (01:15:10):
Oh I've had my skin broken by a parent. I
worked at a pet store.

Speaker 2 (01:15:16):
I forget I worked at the pet store and then
the Harleys, all right, I worked.

Speaker 8 (01:15:21):
At a coffee shop in between. Don't forget about the
glass bowl factory.

Speaker 2 (01:15:29):
Let's compare the two right here. Okay, he back in
the day, he's trying. You know, he's got air now,
so he's he's accomplished it. But let's say he was pursued.
Was during the pursuit of Eric. What happened? Yeah, you
know I work over at that crocodile deal. You know
that tourist. I've been dealing with the crocodiles and got
cut by one. Got snap a little bit, but I'm okay.
Or what happened? Parakeet got.

Speaker 5 (01:15:52):
Yeah, might have even been at sun Conyer the sun
cond You gotta watch it for me.

Speaker 2 (01:16:01):
Yeah, look at that beag. You ever seen a parakeet
up close? They nearly break the skin. It's almost like
a pinch. So what's the what's the name of it?

Speaker 3 (01:16:10):
The those that go into water to get the catfish up?

Speaker 2 (01:16:20):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (01:16:20):
That's why I don't want to do that, because it's like,
you know, because it's normally dark, dark water, and you
can't see him.

Speaker 2 (01:16:27):
All of a sudden something just swallowing your arm. There's
no water.

Speaker 12 (01:16:31):
You know.

Speaker 2 (01:16:33):
You remember the time Green was here and we had
somebody sent us a v h S. Girls going grampling,
and I gave it to his daughters and they wrapped
it up for Christmas. For yes, I forgot about it.
Say they called it grappling. Yeah, but it was like girl,
we totally get, totally get it. Anyway it was, and

(01:16:56):
you gave it, and you get that to his young
daughters to give to their dads. That you feel good about,
brid I'm pretty good.

Speaker 1 (01:17:02):
This is the Rick Burchers Show.

Speaker 2 (01:17:17):

time an you gotta find.

Speaker 1 (01:17:31):

(01:18:20):
So did did we get the video out, I stepped
off into Gregg's World house, Gmail over it and just done,
like I said, do it. Well, well, first of all,
when's the last update you've had on your foe? Oh
it's supposed to do it on the sun right, Well.

Speaker 3 (01:18:32):
Yeah, you can't do the automatic updates. When it looked
like the way it was acting, it was almost like it.

Speaker 2 (01:18:36):
Was going to help me somebody? Why on anybody?

Speaker 3 (01:18:42):
So yeah, I sent it over to Adler. It got
locked up and then something happened. So then I followed
it up with the text so hopefully and he's got it.

Speaker 2 (01:18:49):
This is your nevers nothing, this is it's just funny.
Y'all were talking about the dog and she does this
weird thing where she I mean, she nearly takes off.
Look I'm not a dog expert and she's off. But
there it is. Thank you. I didn't want to have
to say, you know, your dog's not right. Yeah, it's
the Boumont dog of the neighborhood. Yeah she does. So
this is she doesn't. Don't forget. She doesn't like me either, correct,

(01:19:10):
won't even come to me. Yeah, everybody wants to know her.
Over a year. Nothing's more fun than a stray dog
that brought eight puppies into your life and turns your
life upside down, then decides not to like you. Yeah,
I just keep on feeding her grateful much but anyway,
all right, So so y'all driving in here, I wouldn't lately. Yeah,
she feel this? All right? So we're going to see

(01:19:30):
this movie you keep talking about with the music that's
she's listening to that?

Speaker 5 (01:19:34):
Wow, that's great.

Speaker 2 (01:19:35):
All right, there's wow, Greg, you got I set.

Speaker 4 (01:19:37):
Up man, it's blurry wow, gracious sound to you.

Speaker 2 (01:19:42):
Yeah, here goes bless her.

Speaker 5 (01:19:46):
It's the video.

Speaker 2 (01:19:46):
Wait a minute, then what she gets hurt of the side?
You care about it? Okay?

Speaker 9 (01:19:49):
There?

Speaker 2 (01:19:50):
Oh yeah? Great? Doing it? Almost so exciting it almost
feels mean to now laugh at that dog? I mean,
is that dog not? Does it always down the drive?

Speaker 20 (01:20:03):
One?

Speaker 2 (01:20:03):
And then here comes my other dog, mister buddy, Now
that's my dog. I love the fact she's listening to
that and that made her dance. Is it possible that
the dog do you do y'all ever like limit the
dogs eating? Here comes this is my dog. That's mister buddy. Hey,
mister buddy, I tell you this. They're both your dog
well now that he actually likes. Now, is this the

(01:20:25):
ditch that she says you never weed eat pretty good?
It looks really pretty good. It does somebody else, clearly
somebody else. Okay, So so this dog, people with a
lot more equipment entered into your world. At one time.
We actually thought the eight that this puppy thing with
a straight dog, we literally thought it was gonna kill you.
It nearly did. She had them, and we know the story,

(01:20:47):
and then she had a medical emergency, so somebody had
to feed them. So we had to take droppers and
there's eight of them. Greg had to feed for eight puppies,
straight puppies by hand. Do you remember the day can
you tell this you tell this story a lot speedy.
The day that Greg was standing asleep, Yeah, standing asleep,
his head resting on one of the monitors in there
in the production. Well, I knew, I knew it was

(01:21:09):
bad because he can he can like play tough. You know,
I'm fine, I'm all right, you know yeah, yeah, yeah,
that's ain't work, you know that kind of thing.

Speaker 3 (01:21:19):
And then all of a sudden he went to go
run the computer in there, and his index finger working
the mouse, it was shaken like he was about.

Speaker 2 (01:21:26):
To have a breakdown or fall asleep. And I said, hey, buddy,
you need to go on home. I'm worried about you.
Now on the road theybody killed you. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:21:34):
If she could have nursed them, she tried when she
got back, and this dog belongs to at the time,
I just showed up.

Speaker 2 (01:21:41):
It's not even that's not my fault, though. I should
have got her either took her on the low ride,
let her out, or got her spade.

Speaker 3 (01:21:47):
Well, now Lisa gets on you about that, and that's
on the last best of CD was ricking Baba. And
that is that she called or was at the one before,
uh where she calls you out about Yeah, you say
you got it, You're gonna do this, You're gonna do that,
and you never do it because she said you should
have got her.

Speaker 2 (01:22:02):
Well, so what, well, I tell you, so what A
puppy's being a hand fed.

Speaker 4 (01:22:07):
That's so what yah and got I watched everyone on
the born. I didn't think it was ever going to end. Okay,
you every time she golly, there's another one tm. I
uh so, where where are all the puppies now? They're
all doing well all over the country. I got yeah,
they're from some couple in No. One in Kentucky, a
couple of Mississippi, and then a couple of Center not

(01:22:27):
far from where we live. And then uh Elvis, Uh
Clay Clay has he's got Elvis. He sends me pictures
of him. So people send us pictures of him all
the time. All right, So, and then you nearly gave
your life literally for the dog. And the dog's response
is I don't like you.

Speaker 2 (01:22:43):
Yeah, no, she doesn't let the mother dog yet. And
then I run in circles out in the yard for
no parent reason and scare package people so bad they
won't deliver pack.

Speaker 4 (01:22:50):
Maybe it's the circle in the ground that causes yes, Greg,
so is it circle for everybody?

Speaker 2 (01:22:54):
Oh yeah, if you put down the drive, you won't
get the circle. Whatever happened, and this is a good question,
snoff text whatever to leave? Whatever happened to the suckler
four thousand? You know what you had? I still I
don't think I have it. You still have the way
the way you were tearing it up.

Speaker 5 (01:23:13):
That's not true.

Speaker 2 (01:23:14):
God, don't laugh. I don't laugh. When anything for the show, right,
When did you whatever happened to all the swimming pools.
They tore most of them up. Okay, I threw them
all away. Okay, I bet I went through ten. That's
that's when they got bigger and they can run around.
So to hem them up, I had to put them
in this big swimming pool. And then they kept getting bigger,

(01:23:36):
and I had to get a bigger pool so they
couldn't get out right. So I'm going to ask you,
and they would eventually buy do you hear yourself? I
wanted it was the most miserable I want to hear.
I want you this isable give me an honest answer,
and don't even get what are we doing? Don't even
give me the answer? Yeah, please sucker three thousand. I
thought it was a four thousand. Four thousand. We didn't

(01:23:57):
set on my left place. We didn't sell the show.
We didn't settle for the three thousand. Please show this, Yeah,
we got the four thousand.

Speaker 5 (01:24:03):
Do we show it?

Speaker 2 (01:24:04):
Yes? Don't show speedy doing that thing? How did it
get to me doing that? They got that, that's all
we were making fun of millions. Yeah, and the puppies
didn't like. Don't you dare? We were seeing if it worked.
We're trying to see if it would work. Don't you
do that. That's so bad, that's absolutely terrible. Okay. And

(01:24:30):
and if I were you, I would find every every
copy of that and I would burn it.

Speaker 5 (01:24:34):
You have to burn the internet.

Speaker 2 (01:24:35):
You have to burn the internet. Now, I'm so embarrassed.
Straight question, and don't give me the answer I'm looking for.
I want an honest answer. Okay, don't give me the
one you that you think that this is the one
I should say. I want you to be I want
I want you to get inside that hard and it
does exist, and it's crawn three sizes. Since she had grandkids, Yeah,
you have a little bit of a softer underbelly for
little children, mainly yours that are in your family. I don't.

(01:24:58):
I don't know so much about others. As long as
they don't get them a nerves, I like them. Okay.
Well that's that's what some kids you miss the right
and then you have us. You do have a soft
underbelly and and a lot of people, surprisingly, Ma and
I have known this, so did our dad. For for
for animals, for dogs, for dogs. With that being said,

(01:25:19):
and you better be honest. If Lee Lee is not involved, okay,
she she doesn't care one way or the other about
this stray dog? Do you take this dog in with
your own decision without also doing it as husband and wife.
She didn't even care, She said, you know what, do
what you want to with the dog, doesn't matter to me.
Do you take the dogs somewhere? Do you keep the

(01:25:40):
dog and do all you did for puppies because you
wanted to? No, no way, I don't think so. But
but you probably would. You probably would keep them like
I've done. Do exactly what you did of your own decision.
Your wife's not involved it. Of those places that does.
I wouldn't have dumped them out on the side of

(01:26:00):
the road, no, right, would you? Would you have kept
the dog originally when Melee showed up? Oh keh the gate? Yeah,
would you try to scare away? I might have took
it to one in places there you go. That's what
he was asking. That's why I was asking, Trundle, Yeah,
I was. I was trying to see how soft that
underbelly is for dogs, the way I dump them out. No,

(01:26:20):
of course you'd have had a box that said free puppies, right,
but you have send downe there Walmart and of course
part and of course that would have done exactly what
y'all did, took care of them, bottle fed them. Yeah,
I would have hoped that you've given your dogs away
that you had like ten years.

Speaker 1 (01:26:38):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. They are the uncles

(01:27:05):

(01:29:00):
In those years, Gosh, Speedy, can you even remotely give
me a number on how many interns we have? Oh
but I'm hundreds and hundreds, so we haven't sixteen years
been a yeah, and a lot of you that that
were part of those years. And and you're you're still
with us now, which we're thankful for that. You you
you love when we have updates from people who you know,

(01:29:23):
worked with us over the years of doing that show. Uh,
and even still connected to a lot of us that
are doing the show now. But we haven't seen this
one in a while. And and she's token a husband.
Edwin is her husband. Uh, this is former intern el
Woods who just now what what brings? What brings you

(01:29:45):
our way today?

Speaker 12 (01:29:46):
Well, actually, we are going to a marriage conference this weekend,
our second one.

Speaker 2 (01:29:52):
Well how long how long have you and Edwin been married?

Speaker 12 (01:29:56):
We have been married since Memorial Day weekend of last year.

Speaker 16 (01:30:00):
Yeah, yeah, I convinced him.

Speaker 2 (01:30:05):
So give everybody the update. What what are you doing now?

Speaker 16 (01:30:10):
Oh I'm uh so.

Speaker 12 (01:30:11):
I've been a project manager for New Home Construction for
the last four years.

Speaker 4 (01:30:17):
What's different here is Jamie was one of the interns
that actually went to work for the company that we
worked for. Remember that she was in sales and even
with Jammine, with Jamie, so the fact that you're no
longer in that.

Speaker 12 (01:30:30):
Business, you know, yeah, I'm still running my mouth though.

Speaker 2 (01:30:32):
Well, and what was it.

Speaker 16 (01:30:35):
Are you crying, laughing, loving, or leaving?

Speaker 2 (01:30:42):
So? Yeah, so you did you enjoy your run in radio?

Speaker 16 (01:30:46):
Oh yeah, I loved it.

Speaker 12 (01:30:47):
I mean I may maybe I'll eventually devil in the
podcast world like everybody else, but yeah, I'm still very interested,
you know.

Speaker 2 (01:30:58):
Oh yeah yea. So new home construction, Yeah nice, I can.

Speaker 16 (01:31:03):
I can build a house bare hands.

Speaker 12 (01:31:05):
I oversee the yeah, because from the start to the
finish dirt to the closing wall.

Speaker 2 (01:31:12):
But does anybody ever, I mean, are you there to
kind of because that's always hurting cats. It's stressful.

Speaker 12 (01:31:21):
And uh huh, it's there literally so many things that
you can't control, and you just have to understand that
you can't control it, try to do your best, you know,
to make it happen and just progress.

Speaker 2 (01:31:32):
So what part of the world do you and your husband?
Where do y'all live?

Speaker 12 (01:31:35):
We live in Nashville, just outside of Nashville, actually Mount Juliet, Tennessee.

Speaker 2 (01:31:40):
Okay, So, so what when you were part of the
Rick and Bubba show in those thirty one years? What
was your era? Where was it in there gone? Do
you remember the second group I had? So that'd be
about two thousand and nine.

Speaker 12 (01:31:53):
I was with several. I was like three semesters of four.
I was there while I was a lifer. I came
in two thousand and nine.

Speaker 16 (01:32:01):
Who was here with me?

Speaker 12 (01:32:02):
Crash It was crash shaking Bake, Sarah Palin Barracuda.

Speaker 2 (01:32:09):
Yeah, I mean.

Speaker 16 (01:32:13):
Bruiser, Bruiser. Oh my gosh, how y'all if y'all isn't
it anyway?

Speaker 2 (01:32:19):
But we had that was a good month. You talk
about somebody needs to do a podcast. Bruiser, Oh my god,
we've been trying to find him. Yeah, yeah, he's kind
of disappeared. We had a sight bugger.

Speaker 16 (01:32:28):
Oh yeah, there's so many people.

Speaker 2 (01:32:30):
Yeah, so so you yeah, so you you were in
the middle of all that. So now you were that
would have been the broadcast plaza, Uh huh yeah, okay,
because I always look at our eras based on what studios,
you know, we were in, and Jimmy always ran the
board when we were doing and stuff. No stress there.
That helped a lot. That prepared her for new construction.

(01:32:52):
Those on location shows really stressful.

Speaker 12 (01:32:54):
They are very stressful, and to being in the studio
while y'all are out there, it's like, don't mess it up,
you know.

Speaker 16 (01:33:00):
I mean you're like, no pressure at all.

Speaker 3 (01:33:02):
Yeah, here's worst case scenario. What city's to play well?
And people talked about that because those own location shows.
I remember Ryan Greenwood, who, by the way, didn't have.

Speaker 2 (01:33:12):
A birthday this week. Yeah, happy birthday of the day,
Ryan fifty, I will say he's two years younger than me.
It's six somewhere right, age yeah, yeah, so and and
his his age relatively well, yeah.

Speaker 16 (01:33:25):
He's done relative well.

Speaker 2 (01:33:27):
The well, this is kind of I did that to
be sure. I got a text to that, but a
lot like us, he's actually healthier at this age.

Speaker 16 (01:33:37):
No, y'all look right by the way, Wow, yeah, it's.

Speaker 2 (01:33:40):
It's you know, walking on the edge of day. If
you can only do that so long and right, I mean,
we would like to make fun of each other the
way you did him after my daughter's wedding, when you
saw him at wedding and hadn't said, well, and let's
just call it he was at his biggest that was
that was the largest I ever saw it. And he
goes there was some guy claiming to be Royn Greenway
at the wedding. I don't know. It was shocking. It

(01:34:02):
was shocking. I'm like god, guys struggling in a Dolphins jersey.
So so yeah, so that's uh, there's so good good.
But I remember Ryan would say that his favorite he
even after he left working for the show. He said,
even as a listener on location shows. And I'm like,

(01:34:23):
why do you like on location shows? He said, because
it's total chaos. Yeah, complete unpredictability. And when y'all get
stressed and get get frustrated, he said to me, anything goes.
You never know what's going to happen, because sometimes you
get upset about why can't you hear us, Hey that's
not working, and those things seem fun, but you're a
nervous wreck back at Master Control. Oh yeah, trying to

(01:34:45):
do to be on time.

Speaker 8 (01:34:48):
Yeah, Jimmy, you were also in the era in which
I had just started working for the show, and at
that point, for some reason, the guys were trying to
always send me out on with the intern and I'm like, guys,
for the last time, I'm also not an intern.

Speaker 5 (01:35:04):
I work here.

Speaker 10 (01:35:05):
I shouldn't.

Speaker 5 (01:35:06):
It shouldn't be happening. But just as a joke for
the show, we did go on one or two dates.

Speaker 2 (01:35:11):
Now now you're making her husband and company.

Speaker 5 (01:35:14):
It was a bit Edwin. It was a bit came
we held hands and skipped. That was a bit to Edwin.
That was also a bit very uncomfiable.

Speaker 2 (01:35:26):
Edder, thanks for making our flashback awkward right at the end.

Speaker 8 (01:35:28):
I remember I took I took you to a Chinese
restaurant and I asked if I could have some sushi
and they were like, that's a Japanese thing, idiot, and I.

Speaker 5 (01:35:38):
Was like, wrong restaurant.

Speaker 2 (01:35:40):
No, what's good to see you. Yeah, congratulations to you
and Edwin. Congratulations you guys are good to see you.
Edwin too. We'll be right back more the show next week.

Speaker 1 (01:35:52):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. God fearing and America

so thankful that through technology and there's no limits anymore.
You want this show, you can get it and you

(01:36:31):

Burgessshow dot com. So a little recap from last night.
Had a great opportunity to go to beautiful Lexington, South Carolina.
Greg Burgess, do you know where Lexington, South Carolina? Is located.
I do not, Okay, I know where Lexington, Kentucky is right,

(01:36:52):
all right? What about you? Adas and any idea?

Speaker 5 (01:36:55):
No googling, Yes, right next to Lexington, Virginia.

Speaker 2 (01:36:58):
No speeding. It's in South Carolin. Thank you, by the way,
to jump on it. In America, how about this right this?
And immediately you're going to go, oh, right across the
river from Columbia, So Columbia South Carolina country. No Columbia
South Carolina where the University of South Carolina is?

Speaker 12 (01:37:16):
Are?

Speaker 2 (01:37:16):
What are which one? Or they do they see University
of South Carolina or South Carolina University. You know you
never know which one is. Uh, but anyway, but home
of the game Cocks. I was just across the river,
you know, cause you know when we didn't talk. This
has been booked for almost two years now. When I
was talking to the guys, and you know, when we're
doing what we do, You get on the plane, you go,

(01:37:37):
you land, people are there and and it's always that
moment where I have to say, so where are we
you know, what what where are we in this? I
know which state we were in, but where are we
in the state? And he said, oh, we're not that
far from Columbia, and I'm like, okay, okay, I know
what part of the state we're in now, and even
had some of folks from Columbia come across the river
for the event. So so, anyway, outstanding job last night

(01:37:58):
by North Side Baptist shirts there. It's what they call
their sportsman's banquet. Now, I'm going to tell you this
if you and I don't really have any images, but
I think they're going to send me some, but I
can still give you an update.

Speaker 3 (01:38:12):
Now.

Speaker 2 (01:38:12):
I know that when you know things, we say things
and you go, well that's a bit of an exaggeration,
and then all of a sudden it becomes real. This
thing with eggs, you know how everybody's talking about how
the price of eggs, waffle has charge of fifty cents
an egg. We will talk about this this egg thing,
you know. You know, we hit around about like hey man,

(01:38:32):
maybe you could just give them some eggs. Yeah, you know,
and everybody's using those jokes all this stuff. You know, Hey,
the guy won the Dayton on the five hundred, he
got this this and some eggs. And so I love
the opportunity to meet and hear people talking about the show,
I mean from everywhere, you know, and and of course
when you're in a part of the country where there
is no broadcasts, radio station, no terrestrial station, it's always

(01:38:56):
interesting to go how do you get it? Of course
it was an overwhelming podcast audience. And then YouTube, but
more podcasts even than YouTube. But yes, YouTube too, and
so and they're talking about that like that's just their
routine now, I mean, you know, they like to show
they and and so I was talking to these men
and I noticed there's a guy that's wanting to talk

(01:39:18):
to me. And I mean we're inside a building. Okay,
we're we're inside the church in a large room where
they're having the event. And I pick up pretty quick
he's got eggs. And I'm I'm like, I think this
guy's got eggs. So what of talent? Yeah, you know,

(01:39:39):
there's a lot of things you see at men's events,
and you know, people give you t shirts, people give
you a hat. Yeah, you know, sometimes people say, hey,
here's some snacks for the road. Never had anybody give
me eggs and meeting eggs right now, yea. So here's
the thing that I was going to ask you about this.

(01:40:01):
And by the way, he really is a fan of
the show. And I knew that because eighteen it was
the eighteen carton. It wasn't a dozen. Wow, eighteen even
worse than that, the half a dozen. It was the eighteen.
He said, I love the show, I said, apparently eggs. Yeah,
I think his name was Eddie the egg Man. But
how you gonna get home with eggs? This is where

(01:40:24):
you get disgusted for gifts, right, Greg is kind of
a hassle. Greg is actually a realist. Because my first
thought was, so, now I've got eggs. I knows we're
let me get and and you know, Bones was sick.
He's not even going with us this weekend eggs. Yeah,
and so Bones wasn't there. So now it's just it's

(01:40:44):
Mickey the pilot and me. We're just we're soloing you.
You got the pilot tote egg No.

Speaker 8 (01:40:48):
No.

Speaker 2 (01:40:48):
Mickey kind of gave me that look like, now, I'm
not gonna deal with the eggs, you know, and you
can't ask the guy who's flying the plane to deal
with the eggs. You could put eggs in the sea.
But but anyway, so I appreciate the eggs. I thought
that was an incredible gesture. The eggs did get back,
but what I did because we weren't done yet. There
there's a moment where I sit back down for some
of the things. We got to see door prizes and stuff,

(01:41:10):
and I've got eggs and and then and then I
go out for the grip and grin and to meet
the guys. And they had we had some of our
resources there and they want to talk about what happened
at the service and talk about some of the resources
and sign some of those they wanted me to. Well,
I'm out there at a table. So now I've got
a sharpiees, I've got sharpies, I've got a table, I've
got a chair, and I've got eggs. And so I'm

(01:41:33):
now I'm now walking around with eggs. And then you
think eggs break wat enough, you got to keep up
with it, but you got to not break them. And
you think the guy who doesn't know where his lanyard
is is going to get home with these eggs? And
how about this? Am I gonna get home with the
eggs without breaking them? And so he is an early gifter.
He was well, you know what he did. I have

(01:41:54):
to give him credit. He saw his opportunity. He goes,
when am I gonna be able to give him egs?
You know what if I missed my egg opportunity and so,
and go back to the original thought, Yeah, eggs. Well
he's got chickens. Obviously they're his eggs. He didn't get
them from the store. I will say this a little
a little bit of concerned Eddie, thank you, a little
bit of concern. The eggs weren't cleaned. It's almost like

(01:42:16):
they had just dropped and and and they were put
into the cart and so that's good, that's good. Aren't
you supposed to clean them?

Speaker 21 (01:42:23):
No?

Speaker 5 (01:42:23):
No, no, you want them not washed. That's that's the truth.
Then you don't have to refrigerate them, because I think
that's wrong.

Speaker 2 (01:42:29):
I think that's wrong. I think you're supposed to clean them.

Speaker 5 (01:42:33):
If you wash them, you got to refrigerate them.

Speaker 8 (01:42:34):
If you don't wash them, you don't have to refrigerate
them because there's like a film that keeps bacteria out.

Speaker 5 (01:42:39):
And I mean eggs right now, I know what I'm
talking about.

Speaker 2 (01:42:43):
You can't around right now they're saying you don't clean eggs. Okay,
I thought we're supposed to clean eat them with don't
they could they have some kind of bacteria you eat
outside of the shell. Well sometimes, but it's all part
of the process. If I'm scrambling them with some of
that thalls in there, well you can't gonna do that.
So you're telling me that's a no. Right, Yeah, those
eggs are in your house right now. That what you're

(01:43:05):
telling me. You made all the way back with them.
Well you should have seen this morning. So Sherry ended
up getting up with me today because I you know,
because I came in. You know, she had already fallen asleep.
And I think because I wasn't there. You know, when
I'm there, I'm a bit of a distraction that keeps
her awake.

Speaker 6 (01:43:21):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:43:22):
But but since I wasn't there, she went to bed
apparently pretty early. And so she got up when I did,
and I wish you'd have seen her face. And I said,
she said, well, how did it go last night? And
I said, well, I'll tell you one thing.

Speaker 1 (01:43:33):
I got eggs, and.

Speaker 2 (01:43:37):
She and I already put them in the refrigerator because
I didn't know what to do with these eggs. And
and she looks in there she goes, these haven't been cleaned,
and I'm like, and then all I'm thinking, is I
got to get to I got to get to the
show Eggs. I got to get to Panama City. I
can't be pulled into egg thing.

Speaker 3 (01:43:52):
So dirty eggs can sit out and not be refrigerated.
I didn't know, and everybody didn't tell me. Before you
go to crack them, just clean them and.

Speaker 1 (01:43:58):
Then little wash.

Speaker 5 (01:44:00):
It's ransom before you.

Speaker 2 (01:44:00):
But believe they already the other dirty eggs alone until
you're ready. They're already in the fridge.

Speaker 5 (01:44:06):
Well that's fine too, So just clean them and prepare.

Speaker 2 (01:44:08):
Them now if you want to got some miracle that
you made it back?

Speaker 5 (01:44:12):
That is that's crazy. That's that tells you how expensive
eggs are.

Speaker 2 (01:44:16):
Wish you to see me on the plane with my
eggs riding gun. But how I would look over there
right now and then and go, got eggs, Hey, let
me get me take them out. What a great gift
that is considering how expensive they are. That's somebody saying, hey,
I just want to I love the show, thank you Eddie.
They don't be like that's about Eddie's eggs, the hassle
and the eggs to me. That ways, that's understood. Eighteen

(01:44:40):
dirty eggs. I would have paid double to not have
to take them allway home and release the cracking. How
close were you to giving them to an airport employee? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (01:44:51):
You real?

Speaker 2 (01:44:51):
How close were you? They don't have that door locked
because that question want to throw them away? But you
want that delayed me for just a minute. So then
we had to kind of hustle to the plane because
you remember, now understand what time we get up? Thank you?
And I know, hey, I'm gonna say to myself what

(01:45:12):
I say to others. I'm sure Jesus was pretty tired
when he drugged my cross up to Calvary, So I'm
not gonna I'm not going to complain compared. I'm saying
is once that event is over and you have met everybody,
talk to everybody, got your eggs and and now now
this is just being honest. Okay, this is just being
honest that all you do now is start working math.

(01:45:32):
If I was asleep right now, you know this is
how many hours I would get. So every little thing
that now is not a like I'm gonna stay to
the last guy. We've prayed and talked whatever, I'm not
gonna leave. And and if some people do that, and
that's fine, I just I can't be that guy. And
so once that's done though, and all obligations have been met,

(01:45:52):
and we've talked to everybody, and we've done all this.
Now all you're thinking about is got to get on
that plane, got to get home, got to get into bed,
and so I gotta get my eggs. Keeping up with
those eggs cost you about twenty minutes. I don't think so.
I think for the low trip. If you add it
all and all the hassle and I go, I forgot,
let me go back and get them. I wish you
twenty I wish you see me walking out to getting

(01:46:12):
into the ride from Steve Allen, thank you for being
a great host who was gonna take us back the airport.
I wish you'd see me trying to get in the
passenger's side with my eggs. That's what I'm saying. Here's
the thing. They're very breakable. I can't get home on
the grocery store with him.

Speaker 5 (01:46:25):
I know he made it.

Speaker 2 (01:46:26):
He flew states away so many eggs. Car.

Speaker 5 (01:46:30):
I think I'm gonna get chickens. Guys, that's what you need,
what you need, I'll bring you all eggs.

Speaker 2 (01:46:36):
Yeah, I don't want to bring your eggs. Not if
I get slow, I'll bring you some dirty, nasty eggs
and then you can run in here. At the start
of the show, after cleaning up after dogs the chickens children, I.

Speaker 5 (01:46:48):
Cleaned up dog through this morning. Yeah, that's a great point.

Speaker 2 (01:46:50):
I had chickens to that.

Speaker 1 (01:46:51):
That's This is the Rick Burgess Show, still denying any

(01:47:14):
involvement in the food fights of nineteen seventy nine, Rick Butchers.

Speaker 2 (01:47:20):
By the way, if you missed earlier, I checked my
office voicemail again. Donald Trump has pardoned me of the
food sight of nineteen seventy nine. So I'm clear now, yeah, clearly,
completely clear. By the way, We're going now to another
trip this weekend to a Man Church conference. That means

(01:47:40):
we'll have multiple speakers that work directly or indirectly with
the Man Church. All of our curriculum and resources will
be their. And because this is where you can get
the advanced copies of the upcoming book, The spring Men
Don't Run in the Rain that I've read. They said
I wouldn't read it. Yeah, thank you, and speedy still
of course, uh no, I'm working through it. Adler gave

(01:48:03):
his away to his dad which means Rick, don't expect
me to read it. So that's finished, Cobra Kass, I
got a little bit more time. That's over. It's opened
up a lot for me. Yeah, so uh, and I
appreciate you doing that.

Speaker 5 (01:48:15):
Well, yeah, give me two copies. I gave one of
my dad and then you said you need another one back,
and still I'm waiting for copy.

Speaker 2 (01:48:20):
I did, but but but you know your dad's done
with his now is he finished? And you have time
for reading. I'll bring you another one back if for
any from the weekend. So it's just and they're only
available at the conferences and uh, and then the deal
will be coming out. You know, I got a call
for now this is the thing. Uh, Skid's daughter. She said,
I have to get a copy that for Skid. That's true,

(01:48:41):
and I guess I gotta find one for him to
but before that, because I can't, You ain't gonna tell
Skied to wait to the spring. So anyway, so I
want to tell you guys this today because Greg just
did it a minute ago, and and everybody's all cutting
up on my group text today. Since Bones is down,
I'm the point man on our trip. Now, Okay, right,
and I had when I say one thirty wheels up

(01:49:03):
at one thirty, not get there. Will then tell me
don't put one thirty fifty. Have you seen it? Yeah,
what did you say? Okay, then that's exactly what I did.
That's what we needed. Don't matter. If just say it there,
then I'll figure out when the wheels are coming up whatever.
And I think that one of the pilot we're we

(01:49:24):
have co pilots this time, we have two, and I
think one of them is the guy that flew and
I never get it right, the Royal Air Force or
the Royal Navy. I think Royal Navy. And he's tired
of you get he's tired, really tired of even be
talking about it. Let me tell you what's beautiful. His
name is actually James. So we get to say home James,
and uh and and and then he gets to say

(01:49:46):
to us, and I hope he says, it's today. Okay,
Well we're ready to go. Now we'll be head leaving
here straight away, straight away. If he'll say South Africa,
he is, so we'll be living here straight away. So,
by the way, he's tired of me doing that too,
So that's a Twofer. Matter of fact, when he when

(01:50:06):
he looked today and saw he's been assigned us, he
looked to see if I was on the list. Do
you make him like you do?

Speaker 7 (01:50:13):
Gary?

Speaker 9 (01:50:14):
I do?

Speaker 2 (01:50:16):
People don't like I'm gonna make a commandment that I
will not say to James. I hope. So, James, we're
gonna be leading straight away because I'm ready to say
it and I can't wait. Okay, but you'd rather I didn't.
Uh No, he would rather. That's true. Uh audible version
of the book. Yes, there will be. As a matter
of fact, I've got to get speed to do the

(01:50:38):
I'm gonna have Speedy read it. Or Gary. By the way,
speaking of Gary, I think he's I think Gary is
going to call us today. Got that story to I said,
I'm gonna try to call y'all maybe until that story
I was talking about is.

Speaker 5 (01:50:52):
I hope his phone works.

Speaker 2 (01:50:54):
We'd rather deal with that phone. The phone picture of
this man don't un in the rain author Rick Burgess,
my daddy, can you man? Also, let me give you
an update. This is really this is kind of stuff,
and I'm praying that we'll we'll see this kind of
stuff this weekend. Pray y'all pray over all these men

(01:51:14):
that are coming in from all over this weekend. On
just a serious note, here is the update from the
hard work of North Side Baptist Church in Lexington, South
Carolina last night. Steve Allen was the point person there.
He's it wasn't just him that, I mean, James outstanding, Steve,
the guys, I meant, they're all just incredible. It was.
It was a really well done event and they did

(01:51:37):
their job on the ground locally to hustle and pack
that place. We think we hit around twelve hundred men
last night. So listen to this update. So he said,
we just went over all the decisions. Last night, twenty
three men trusted Christ for the first time. Sixty eight said,
I'm still searching, but I'd love to know more about

(01:51:57):
having a relationship with Christ. Ninety three recommitted their life
to Christ. And I was there for this. We baptized
six on the spot. Uh and he said, God really moved.
It was a it was a powerful night. But see
that's because they did their work. They've been working on this,
they've been setting up, they've been going out and look,
you know our parts easy. We try to get men

(01:52:18):
to come. But ultimately it's the guys on the ground
that are hustling, that are putting it all together. If
they're not doing what they are doing, then these things
don't work. And so that's a credit to all of
your hard work. God honored all of you there, guys,
and it was an honor to be asked to do
that and also to uh to be with it. Last night.

(01:52:38):
Watch watch God move. It's it never gets old what
God was moving? Were you holding the eggs? It's all
I can think about the.

Speaker 4 (01:52:46):
Good news, knowing him the way I know him, and
that the fact that he got home with him eggs
is a miracle.

Speaker 2 (01:52:52):
God was even have anybody to go, hey, hold these
the eggs on him. He lost our passes the last
time when I hell speedy out, when I tell you
this scene of me getting the eggs is about to
bother you more because because this is the kind of
stuff you look for, you love these kind of details.
So my part's done. Okay, I've done the message, We've

(01:53:13):
seen the response. Now we're documenting the response. Powerful. There's
some guys saying we offered the opportunity if Andy would
like to be baptized right now. About six guys wanted
to that was great, So I probably could have handled
that part a little better. I didn't listen when they
would telling me how to handle that. But so somebody
to get up and get the whole about where they
were supposed to go. They told me what to say
and then and of course I forgot it. But anyway,

(01:53:35):
so but we got that done. So now I realize
I have the headset, and and that place was so packed.
They had so many men in there that I was
just like sitting in one of the sections. Okay, when
I came off the stage and before I went on stage, well,
I'm sitting by Mickey, who wants no part of my eggs.
I don't have them yet, and and so he's I said, hey,
I'm just going to run this headset over to the

(01:53:57):
sound guy right now while all these door prizes are
going and everything. So I'm literally getting up and walking
excuse me the thing we were talking about coming down
aisles to get to the soundboard and the guy Eddie
the egg man. That's when I got the eggs. I mean,
I had my hand off the headset and I turn
door price is going many everywhere eggs and I wish

(01:54:24):
you'd see Mickey the pilot. When I returned with eggs,
he looks at me, He's like, if you got eggs?
I said, I do have. There were people that saw
you on the way out. I think I saw Rick
and I swear it looks like he was carried eggs.
I know that sounds weird. Picture you're you're Steve, the
guy who's been waiting nearly two years for this. And
he looks over, he goes, what's he doing with he
got eggs? He's supposed to what we're about to back?

(01:54:47):
Why's he got eggs? And he have some visual he
didn't do? Did you forget to use eggs as a
as a visual? And what's security? You let a man
in with a bunch of eggs? Greg? What if he
was gonna throw him at you? Protest it was eggs? No, Greg,
you just let people come into men, Remember Greg, Remember
we don't work that way anymore. We get online behind
obsecure handles, and that's when we don't you. No one,

(01:55:08):
No one talks to you face to face, you know
hard directly? Was it just a carton of eggs? Was
it cardon eighteen strong?

Speaker 5 (01:55:16):
Was it at least a rubber band on the carton,
or you have to make.

Speaker 2 (01:55:19):
Sure the lid stay clear to make sure the lid
was closed. I got the lid, I got the carton purple.
What is it?

Speaker 9 (01:55:24):
Is it?

Speaker 2 (01:55:25):
Red? White? White? No? Kind of light blue, light blue?
Kind of light blue? Bone or pay.

Speaker 6 (01:55:33):
This.

Speaker 1 (01:55:35):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (01:55:50):
Listen up.

Speaker 7 (01:55:53):

(01:57:35):
All right. You know how sometimes you're thinking we're gonna
do something. I don't know that this is the right
thing to do. It feels unpredictable. And that is Gary
the Bulldozer Man is forward and he's got a story

(01:57:56):
from going to the big city of Nashville, to the
World con Federation Turkey Turkey whatever that was, and sporting
sporting event. I love you, And you know what Gary said,
I lived back and woman and the dog and the

(01:58:18):
dog in me that little minly De Gretsky runing, sir,
all right, So Gary, how are you, buddy?

Speaker 6 (01:58:27):
Well, I'm pretty good. I guess how about y'all.

Speaker 2 (01:58:30):
We're doing fine, doing good?

Speaker 9 (01:58:33):
Well, m.

Speaker 2 (01:58:36):
M mmmm, Gary.

Speaker 6 (01:58:38):
I don't know how to get started.

Speaker 2 (01:58:42):
Gary, I've been gave a little insight on this question. Wow, wow, wow.

Speaker 6 (01:58:47):
Hey. I tried to tell Rick the story the other
day and I couldn't get nothing out of quit. He
wouldn't quit laughing I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:58:57):
I'm sorry, Gary.

Speaker 6 (01:58:59):
Well, I mean, I I can't go into detail now,
I'll tell you that I just can't go in detail, don't.
I'm just so, I'm just so glad that Greg little
late Hubbard and Jerald Tate's wasn't women.

Speaker 2 (01:59:14):
Oh, the end of it. I wish we had never
heard that.

Speaker 6 (01:59:18):
I would never hear the end of it. But you know,
I don't know, man. I met so many people up
at in Icehville, you know, the convention center. Everybody I
heard can't have nothing. That's so many times that I
don't know. But a lot of fans of the show
up there, and I appreciate mating them, and.

Speaker 2 (01:59:38):
Okay, you know, had a good time.

Speaker 6 (01:59:46):
Hey, cut cut Greggs Mike off, cut it.

Speaker 2 (01:59:49):
Off, interrupt you. I'm done.

Speaker 3 (01:59:53):
He was off air when we were lining this up,
and he he said, I honestly, I don't know how
to get through this with aut too many details.

Speaker 2 (02:00:01):
It's gonna be really hard. Yeah, Gary, you know I
told you some words you used the other day. You
don't need to use what you're talking. Well, no, I
don't know.

Speaker 6 (02:00:10):
You can't say it over there and on this, but.

Speaker 2 (02:00:13):
You don't an't got time for me, you guessed, right.

Speaker 6 (02:00:17):
Well, the thing about it, you know, it was Valentine's
night and I was up there with Ben Ben Davis and.

Speaker 2 (02:00:26):
Uh, we're already off the road start.

Speaker 6 (02:00:29):
I don't know, but I don't know. We're older, say
a thing or not. You know, people be ragging me.
I get ragged enough as it is.

Speaker 7 (02:00:37):
Around with y'all.

Speaker 6 (02:00:41):
But you know, and that would you know? Walking we
got a shuttle over to uh, downtown Nashville at Broadway.

Speaker 2 (02:00:51):
And see that's a mistake. You don't belong in downtown
Nashville on Broadway. You don't belong there here.

Speaker 6 (02:00:58):
Well, the thing about it, you know, like I said,
it was Valentine's Day, and I told man, I said, now,
we're not gonna walk together. I said, you walk ahead
of them and I'll walk behind you.

Speaker 2 (02:01:09):
You know.

Speaker 6 (02:01:10):
But you know, it went from bad worst, but you know,
you try to make friends the beast the way you can.
The only place we had to sit at I forgot
the name of the place, but what he wanted to go.
Hear some country music, and to me, it wasn't real
country to me. But you know, Merle Haggard or clean

(02:01:34):
up or you know, ain't ain't much you can.

Speaker 2 (02:01:37):
Do about it.

Speaker 6 (02:01:37):
But we just happened to set beside to uh Asian
looking guys.

Speaker 2 (02:01:46):
Asian looking guys.

Speaker 6 (02:01:51):
Now they look Asian. Look, you know, the way their
eyes was formed, I think they may be. Yeah, well
I didn't know, but you know, I just wanted to
strike a conversation up with him.

Speaker 2 (02:02:06):
You don't always try to, you know, conversation I have now.

Speaker 6 (02:02:13):
And you know, we had ordered a little something, you know,
some ribs or something to eat and stuff like that,
you know, And I just looked over and I said,
are y'all.

Speaker 2 (02:02:24):
Americans America, Nice to meet you.

Speaker 6 (02:02:30):
You're well, I mean, you didn't never know. I didn't
know where they spoke American or English or Japanese the
tongue or whatever, but not a language. But uh, you know,
when they started talking women stuff like that, you know,

(02:02:52):
they were they was pretty nice. You know, I could
barely understand them, but that was all right, Hey, don't
be talking like yet. You don't want it started it now,
you don't want it started it?

Speaker 2 (02:03:09):
Okay, I'm just gonna be quiet, but.

Speaker 6 (02:03:12):
You know, and you know, I was looking at my phone.
I was getting messages, you know and stuff. And they
asked me, was I on Instagram? And I said, yeah,
I'm on Instagram and they said, well let's I said,
we'll follow you, you know, and yeah, and uh, he
he got my phone. I don't know what he was doing,
but he's as many buttons and type and stuff and there.

(02:03:35):
I think I think he may have scam there or something.

Speaker 20 (02:03:40):
But yeah, hey Greg, Greg, but look he was, uh.

Speaker 6 (02:03:53):
And what really got it? When we left, we found out.
You know, they even took a selfie with man, which
I would not say that, but you wish you could
have that back, boy, Yeah, I wished have to get
that back. But we got to laughing and uh, we
was going down the sidewalk and I pulled up their
Instagram and found out they was members of the l

(02:04:18):
b J b b.

Speaker 2 (02:04:19):
Q Wow and they were disagreeing.

Speaker 6 (02:04:28):
I mean they was actually a couple, you know, and
I guess they thought man Ben might.

Speaker 2 (02:04:36):
Have been a question. You and Ben did make a
cute year Greg.

Speaker 6 (02:04:44):
Hey, Greg, that is Mike off. But you know, I
can't you know, I can't tell you what their names were.

Speaker 2 (02:04:54):
Well, please, I've heard, I've asked you not to do that.
I've heard, and.

Speaker 6 (02:04:57):
I'm not gonna do that was laughing. I thought Ben
was gonna pass out and it was on kund of
life and it wasn't only count of drinking anything.

Speaker 20 (02:05:08):
But it was, I'm telling you.

Speaker 6 (02:05:11):
And then uh, police woman she stepped out and said, uh,
I think you staggering a little bit. I said, well,
you ain't mad, you say, and uh but uh, I
don't know. It was you know, had a real good time.

Speaker 2 (02:05:33):
I just want to be sure I got this right.
Somewhere out in the Instagram world, there are two Asian
men who are you know, alternative lifestyle a couple and
they have a selfie with you on their Instagram.

Speaker 6 (02:05:51):
Well, I don't know, uh. I think one of one
of them is from New York City and the other
one was from California. But I don't know. That's about
all I could take that with.

Speaker 2 (02:06:07):
Were they there for the Turkey conventions? That convention?

Speaker 6 (02:06:12):
No, I think there's one that there will be J
b b Q's or something.

Speaker 2 (02:06:19):
Well, Gary, they saw you and Ben, and you know
one thing you can take away from this, Gary, they
found you attractive.

Speaker 6 (02:06:25):
Yeah, now that you know, I ain't gonna say what
I told you the other day.

Speaker 2 (02:06:33):
No, please, don't know.

Speaker 7 (02:06:34):
We're good.

Speaker 2 (02:06:35):
We're almost there, Gary, We're good. Okay.

Speaker 6 (02:06:37):
Well I'm uh, you know, I don't know how I
live that down or not.

Speaker 2 (02:06:43):
Don't Well, if I have anything to do with it,
you want to know. And then Greg, see wait, I'm
looking for that picture.

Speaker 6 (02:06:50):
It's one thing for somebody to forgive me something, forgive
me doing something like that, and then the other thing,
it's harder for me to forgive myself.

Speaker 2 (02:06:59):
For there he goes, There, he goes. Garry went to
the big city. He went to the big city, got
his picture made Gary on Broadway for a couple of
about in about Turkey. Call now, Yeah, Garry came to
their world. They didn't go to his.

Speaker 1 (02:07:21):
We'll be right back Oh my goodness, this is the
Rick Burgers Show. Can't get out of the car funny

(02:07:53):
the Rick Burger Show.

Speaker 2 (02:07:56):
Well, uh, there's a cyber relief that we got through
the story somewhat unscathed. And I will tell you see,
for all of us here, our fun with Gary has
just begun. You know, you won't get to follow up
on this like we will now. And he knows that
you could feel that in his discussion. He knew what

(02:08:20):
was coming for him, you know. And there are so
many jokes right now that I can think of, and
he's gonna hear every single one of them. Oh yeah, yep, fact,
every single one of them. And and and there has
to be a side. And by the way, he he
is correct. You are correct. Texture that that is him.

(02:08:43):
That's the name. We would not let him use. Texture.
You are correct. Y'all are very savvy. Are a couple
of good Oh that this is so real.

Speaker 5 (02:08:51):
Theme guys, it is. It's funny about it.

Speaker 2 (02:08:57):
You're right, Thank you Adler. Adler has always been in
charge of our Asian sensitivity and I thank you for that.
So so the Smith in America. Yeah it is, yeah, Jones.
Here's the thing, because I don't know. I mean, I
hate to throw Ben under the bus. Who was with
Gary when he came by here. I'm sorry you got
caught up here. Well, but we have to ask the question.

(02:09:19):
I don't think under any circumstance that Gary would have
any idea where they're going. But but but the story
kind of feels like that maybe Ben did, yeah, set
him up, or it's looking for a place so he wanted.

(02:09:40):
But this is Nashville. They don't have like they just
there just happened to be people in there. Yeah, there
were two men that were a couple. It's not a bar.
It's not a bar where people that that are in
the as Gary so beautifully put it, the l g
B t Q community like that, because there are bar

(02:10:00):
that that's the theme.

Speaker 5 (02:10:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:10:01):
But you know, if you're walking Broadway, would that would
that be? That wouldn't be Nashville right there right there
at the window.

Speaker 3 (02:10:05):
A lot of times there are small stages and you're
walking Broadway and you're like, oh, that sounds pretty good,
or that lady and you walk in, you sit down.

Speaker 2 (02:10:11):
That's kind of what I'm picturing. Not we've searched out
a certain establishment. Yeah, and clearly I know that Gary's
usually really savvy with his turkey call, but this time
he had some sort of different message. He was sitting, Yeah,
I know, so much low hanging fruit. Yeah, but we're
not going to now.

Speaker 3 (02:10:31):
Someone on text, uh brought up something pretty solid here,
and that is you know, he said he was having
a tough time understanding them.

Speaker 2 (02:10:38):
Picture them. They weren't sure if that was English here. No,
you add live music that's loud, right, and you're leaning
over and you know, we had to talk about turkey calls,
and they had no idea what that was about. Can
you imagine him looking to the at these two men
and the next thing they know, they're being drug into
the world a turkey hunting. Yeah. Well, I mean, you know,
I'm online, I'm the spur Master, and I have a

(02:11:01):
turkey call that needs to be outlaw because it ain't
gonna be no turkeys left.

Speaker 12 (02:11:04):
Now.

Speaker 2 (02:11:04):
I want you to picture that. You just run up
on this and you're them from California and New York. Okay,
they thought they had a gym too. That's why they
took their picture with him exactly. That's why they took
the picture across. They've gone to their friends their friends,
and they're laughing just as hard, if not more so
than we are. Right, they won't believe it. Let's take
a picture with him right now. He's a character because

(02:11:27):
itself the spurmaster. Right, he does, and that's that's a
good point. It is. I would talk like them, but
that or won't let me. We got in trouble. Yeah,
some reason that that's off limits, but everything else is okay.
I know, well, I was gonna add a little something
to well that would have been great, but now it's right.

Speaker 6 (02:11:48):
I know.

Speaker 2 (02:11:50):
No, I'm just good. You're alright in there. So but
I do think that that we got through that story
with Gary pretty good. We did. M hm. You can
tell he's distraught. He's he's still he's a little he's
a little well, he's he's traumatized. There's one he's traumatized.

(02:12:10):
And oh he won't be the same. He won't admit this,
he really won't. But because he said this to me,
because he wanted me to think this. Hey, I got
a lot of stuff I need to do over the farm.
I'm gonna go over and you know, check on on
on the pipes and be sharing all that'stn you know,
with this new code coming in and you can't even

(02:12:30):
have the frame and uh, but what he really meant
was I need to go over to the pasture and
walk around. You know what is he walked around out
there just kind of staring off the yet because you
know how you have to do a resealing. Huh. I
think he take a shower. I think that was probably
a shocking experience for Gear And he sounded a little

(02:12:52):
a little troubled by it, didn't He a little shaky,
just a little shaky looking at hey looking back. I
wish I hadn't them rubbed my head.

Speaker 5 (02:13:04):
But you're all over there.

Speaker 2 (02:13:09):
Much tell you for your life? All right, let's go on.
Now we're gonna mess. I should have I should have
known something when he's asking me to sing show tunes
with them, I want to talk to Ben. Imagine what
he wins. But he said there and watched him. Gary

(02:13:30):
said that, you know, when he was in there until
this part, when he was in there, he looked over
and there was a couple of guys getting a little intimate.
He he got sick of me. He looked at the
guy he was dancing with, said I gotta get out
of here. That's terrible. Don't be that. Don't do that.

Speaker 5 (02:13:47):
I can't stand.

Speaker 2 (02:13:48):
I got to go tell you what, right, there is
a little and like that joke, he too, and there
about the police person that was win and there he
did he does. So we'll just so y'all know Gary's
not going to hear the end of this. Y'all make

(02:14:10):
sure he doesn't as well. Yeah, bottom of the hour,
we'll be back. Oh man, we'll get phone calls in now.
That's not that's not wise, is it? Phone calls now? No,
don't do that. I'm gonna make Greg happy, all right.
Eight eight eight six, big box.

Speaker 1 (02:14:27):
This is the Rick Burgess shown.

Speaker 2 (02:14:49):
So we're back. Well, so have you joined AMAC yet,
the Association of Mature American Citizens. If you have not,
there is another option that is kind of the you know,
the alternative to AARP. You know, I remember I started

(02:15:10):
getting my stuff and by the way, I need to
remind me to tell you I got what I got
in the mail the other day. Make a note of
that on this note. But when you first got AARP,
you were kind of like you started learning about their Yeah,
you start learning about how they see the world politically,
and you're like I don't want to be part of
that lobby. So you thought you were out. I mean
you were like, hey, you can't even have discounts, but
you can the Association of Mature American Citizens. They have

(02:15:35):
a lobby in Washington that is conservative, over two million
members now. But here's the beautiful thing. You still get
the discounts on travel, insurance, restaurants, everyday services, strong voice
fighting in Washington from a conservative point of view, regardless
of your age. It's all about belonging to a community
that stands for timeless American values. And yes, they'll help

thirty two. So go to AMAC dot us slash big box.

(02:16:18):
You also get America's number one conservative magazine with that
keeping you updated. Rick burgesshow dot com also has the
link or if you want to join us eight eight
eight the number six and then spell out big vox
are eight eight eight six two four for eight six nine.
So I'm looking let's go to Ethan first. I think

(02:16:39):
I see Larry on there again. We're going to get
Garry and Larry in the same all right, So Ethan,
go ahead. How's it going?

Speaker 10 (02:16:46):
Good morning. I've got two things. First off, I'm an
archive listener, so forgive me if I'm a little off
the talk, right, I'll talking about sure. Number One, I'd
like to know when I'm listening to the archive, why
when you bring the bed music in out of the break,
it's so deafeningly loud that I have to turn it
down and then wait till the bed music is over

(02:17:07):
to turn it back up. And then number two, I
know this is first off, I don't want to spin
the wheel. And this is a little bit of a bit,
but my birthday was this past Saturday, and as a
birthday gift, I would like to hear Greg walk the
way it is by Tesla.

Speaker 2 (02:17:22):
Okay, you know Greg did not He was not a
hot rock in DJ. You know that, right, But so
I mean I guess he could try it. Yeah, But
as far as the archives, these things are loud because
our rock. That's the bottom line. Now, either what is that?
I have noticed that too. Sometimes when you're listening, say
on the Archives, you hear the commercial dropped in and

(02:17:45):
its volume is much lower than when the show comes back.
Is that what you're talking about, Ethan, because I've heard
that too, Yes, yeah, yeah, And when the show comes
back it's like whoa because you turned it up to
because the com I think it would be solved if
the commercial drops you're doing We're just had more volume.

Speaker 5 (02:18:02):
Okay, if that's the only problem, sure that that's all that.
That's an easy fix.

Speaker 2 (02:18:06):
Speeding. I can handle that from my experience. Now.

Speaker 5 (02:18:08):
As far as every single bad being too loud, I don't.

Speaker 6 (02:18:11):
I don't.

Speaker 5 (02:18:11):
That's the first I've heard of that.

Speaker 2 (02:18:12):
If that's what, If that's what he was, I thought,
I think what happens. I'm talking from my experience, and
Ethan tell me if I'm wrong, Like when there's parts
of it when we do the commercials, you know, when
I do, like an endorsement commercial, and the volume will
be down, so I'll go to turn it up. I
don't know why, but you know about this. I make
a living, so I'm you know, I don't you know,

(02:18:33):
and I'm just I guess I just do it out
of habit and something drops the volume, you turn it
up and so then you leave it up to where
that should be. And then we come back from the
break and it's like, whoa.

Speaker 6 (02:18:42):
That that is?

Speaker 8 (02:18:43):
Uh, that's totally accurate, because yeah, okay, so he's not
he's talking about something else. I think this guy's a
little bit just weird. But what but what you're saying,
we can speeding. I can fix that. We're recording those
things in different places.

Speaker 2 (02:18:57):
When it gets that'll be there's a little variation on the.

Speaker 5 (02:19:00):
Like, we're recording those things in different places, so we
need to let me equalize that. Greg, would you do
you sorry for calling you weird?

Speaker 2 (02:19:05):
Well, so that's that's a compliment. Come on, Greg, do
you want to try to walk a song?

Speaker 9 (02:19:10):
Like?

Speaker 2 (02:19:11):
Have you ever tried that before? Actice? Huh? Can you
hear you in your headphones? If I play it? Hang on,
I can't hear that? Sound great?

Speaker 5 (02:19:17):
What do you want to try to walk this?

Speaker 2 (02:19:19):
No? I know practice the fact he doesn't. That's the bit.

Speaker 5 (02:19:23):
You can't hear anything, Greg, nothing.

Speaker 2 (02:19:25):
I can't hear it. You can't hear the music. I'm
about to play it. Nope. Can't hear it about that?
Can you hear that? No, you can't hear that.

Speaker 5 (02:19:31):
Oh it's really good.

Speaker 2 (02:19:32):
Oh man, it's rocking. You can't hear that.

Speaker 5 (02:19:35):
It's rock and roll?

Speaker 1 (02:19:36):
Greg?

Speaker 2 (02:19:37):
And what did he want?

Speaker 12 (02:19:37):
What is?

Speaker 2 (02:19:40):
What it takes or what it is? I don't know
what you give? Is that what you want to hear?
What you give? What you give?

Speaker 20 (02:19:46):
What you give?

Speaker 2 (02:19:47):
Listen? I love this song, by the way, but I'm
not walking. Yes you are. I don't even know what
that means.

Speaker 5 (02:19:55):
That monetized on this.

Speaker 2 (02:19:57):
I'm on the wrong thing.

Speaker 5 (02:19:58):
I'm on the wrong Okay, Greg, we're getting demonetized on
YouTube for this.

Speaker 2 (02:20:01):
You better make it good. Case would make you do it.

Speaker 5 (02:20:04):
You better make it good.

Speaker 2 (02:20:05):
Greg. You're gonna walk the song, Greg Gyro, just you're
gonna walk this song? All right? Man, I can't wait
to hear you do this. But I'm not doing it.

Speaker 12 (02:20:13):
There you are?

Speaker 2 (02:20:14):
I am.

Speaker 5 (02:20:16):
It's a promo for the show.

Speaker 2 (02:20:18):
Do you hear that? Yeah? You get here? Great beat
down rock? All right. I don't even know where to start.
I don't even know anything. Try Greg, try it it.
All that traffic out there, this city and the truck,
the city that don't stop.

Speaker 5 (02:20:45):
Enough, Greg, that's great enough.

Speaker 2 (02:20:47):
In fact, make sure silhouette is just Ryan Seacrest in there.
That's nice work in there. Hot, Greg's heavy birthday foul. Larry,
you said you've textas it's Larry. It's Dublin, Georgia, Larry, Larry,
how's it? How's your wife?

Speaker 20 (02:21:06):
Great?

Speaker 14 (02:21:07):
Right here? Hello?

Speaker 2 (02:21:09):
Hello, hey Carolyn? Hey Carolyn? All right? So you said
you sent a text, right Larry?

Speaker 6 (02:21:16):
Yes, I did?

Speaker 2 (02:21:17):
Okay, thank you?

Speaker 14 (02:21:18):
A picture of Doug flid in the living room dog slid.

Speaker 2 (02:21:23):
Also see there's a letter on here that somebody sent
to you and Carolyn. Right, yes, okay, he wants you
to do you see the slid?

Speaker 1 (02:21:33):
I don't.

Speaker 2 (02:21:33):
Is that the slid there the bottom of the I don't.
They were looking for the slid. Yeah, so Larry, what
what what's the letter about?

Speaker 12 (02:21:44):
Hey?

Speaker 6 (02:21:44):
You guys from Markington. Hannah's a patch?

Speaker 2 (02:21:50):
And what did he send you?

Speaker 20 (02:21:53):
He sent us a.

Speaker 6 (02:21:54):
Police department packed from his son.

Speaker 7 (02:21:56):
He's a listener of the show.

Speaker 2 (02:21:58):
Thank you, Carolyn. Yeah yeah, really here's somebody is this?
This is it here? This is the picture of the
patch that was sent here. It is Kenwick Police.

Speaker 3 (02:22:07):
Yes, okay, because here's the letter here that says this
is from the Kenwick Police.

Speaker 2 (02:22:11):
So there it is. I see the letter, Larry, were
going going down. We don't see the slave. I've looked
for the slab, don't.

Speaker 5 (02:22:20):
Larry. How many patches do you have? How many patches
do you have?

Speaker 2 (02:22:26):
Right now?

Speaker 6 (02:22:27):
We're at juys and eight hunger patches.

Speaker 2 (02:22:30):
Of a lot of patches. Good, that's a lot of patches. Listen,
Larry Lett, I have to get an update on this.
You told us that your neighbors and the people who
go to church with we're a little tired here about patches.
Have you been able to talk to them and have
different topics? Have you been making? Yeah? What topics have
you chosen?

Speaker 14 (02:22:51):
Stove fed?

Speaker 2 (02:22:55):
I'm talking about dogslad kind of came out, ain't there plashing?

Speaker 6 (02:23:02):
We get txt?

Speaker 2 (02:23:04):
Okay, okay, Larry got them? Larry, could you do me
a favorite? Could you look at Carolyn.

Speaker 1 (02:23:08):
Say they want you to say that blassing?

Speaker 2 (02:23:11):
Can you do that?

Speaker 1 (02:23:12):
Once?

Speaker 2 (02:23:14):
What say to Carolyn? They want you to say the blessing? Yeah,
that's closed. That's about almost got what I wanted to.
Saves the sled and we see the sled. Now there's
actual little stuffed dogs on it. I see that. Say
to say to Carolyn. They want you to say the blessing.

Speaker 6 (02:23:35):
They want you to say the blessing.

Speaker 5 (02:23:37):
No, with more.

Speaker 2 (02:23:39):
You better do with more passions than pretend like you're
saying something about patches. That kind of passion.

Speaker 7 (02:23:46):
They want you to talk about dog slid.

Speaker 2 (02:23:52):
Larry, Larry, I don't know. I don't know if dog
sleds is the best topic.

Speaker 5 (02:23:57):
I'm not sure, Larry. Have you seen Iron Will it's
about the the dog sled?

Speaker 6 (02:24:01):
Yes, we have that on the DVD.

Speaker 2 (02:24:04):
Yes you do, Yes, you do? You do?

Speaker 9 (02:24:09):
You want to see another good movie just because the
Spirit of.

Speaker 5 (02:24:13):
The Wind about dog sleds?

Speaker 2 (02:24:16):
Yes, okay, yeah, I've been Greg's my brother. I learned
about Spirit of the Wind a long time ago.

Speaker 6 (02:24:26):
That.

Speaker 2 (02:24:27):
Well, Larry, it's good to hear from you. Do you do?
You do you know Hank from Hendersonville? By any chance?
Somebody's asking, No, I don't never met him. Huh, Larry,
do you ever pulled Carolyn around on the sled?

Speaker 9 (02:24:43):
We would pope children in raw Mark and Groger's on
the sled.

Speaker 2 (02:24:49):
You ask them if it was okay?

Speaker 5 (02:24:52):
Yes, their parents would let us.

Speaker 2 (02:24:54):
Yeah, that's always important, Larry. Be sure that steps.

Speaker 8 (02:24:57):
Always good, Larry Aaron, but forget pictures of it, okay, well, okay,
uh and probably a picture of you, Larry for record.

Speaker 2 (02:25:06):
All right, So everybody's asking about your address again. It
looks like they're wanting to send you more patches.

Speaker 14 (02:25:13):
Are you ready for the address?

Speaker 2 (02:25:15):
Yes?

Speaker 9 (02:25:15):
I am Larry to be Larry l A r r
Y and Carolyn C A r O l y Ed
Hopkins five one two policy p and paul A l
I S A D E drive.

Speaker 2 (02:25:39):
I wish you were in great eggs at Ham. I
wish it was him if we weren't so close to
the break ice for a second.

Speaker 9 (02:25:45):
Spelling, by the way, go ahead, Dublin, do you be

Speaker 2 (02:25:54):

Speaker 6 (02:26:06):
That's it? Three one zero two one.

Speaker 2 (02:26:08):

Speaker 5 (02:26:19):

Speaker 2 (02:26:21):
Gee, thank you, Larry. They just car something that's good.
We just break they broke it all right once again.
That's for Larry and Carolyn Hopkins five one two Palisade Drive, Dublin,
Georgia three one zero two one. They love getting the

(02:26:41):
patches and the challenge points and always bring a lot
to the table. We'll be right back. More than Rick
Burgers Show coming out hanging there.

Speaker 1 (02:26:52):
This is the Rick Burgers Show, the man who removed
the phrase what's your new good from society this week?

Speaker 2 (02:27:14):
You're welcome, so we're back. Thanks you for being with
us today. Keep with We've gone through a lot today.
If you've missed an ounce of today, you've you've missed
a ton, missed a ton. Adler, we're focusing on videos
four and five here four and five, four and five,
so a quick step out of the zany over to

(02:27:34):
the kind of state of how things are. We were
giving a little update from from the world that we
live in and the Trump administration continuing to go through
their first one hundred days. I mean, if you can
enjoy anything else unless you are a leftist and you
are welcome to be here, you're you're perfectly fine to
be here. But watching y'all kind of have a meltdown

(02:27:56):
is it's a it's a lot of fun. Uh, And
I don't I don't mean that. I mean I wish
you would realize it's gonna be all right, and watching
you kind of lose your mind as if this is
the end of the world. It's this is the kind
of stuff that is. You need to just kind of
just everybody tell you, everybody calm down. This this end

(02:28:16):
of time, you know, chicken little thing y'all do about everything.
Uh So, here's Stephen Miller. He is the white House
deputy chief of staff debity deputy chief of staff. Yes,
and and I'm glad I was never appointed that I
wouldn't know what I'd never get that right, right, And
they know, what do you do rick a white House something?
Deputy something chief of staff, chief of staff? Yeah, so

(02:28:38):
some of the past chief of staff deputy chief what's
the difference between a deputy chief after sheriff and the
deputy chief of staff would be the sheriff. Deputy chief
of staff would be the deputy assistant. I think, okay,
an assistant to the true chief of staff. I think, okay, I'm.

Speaker 5 (02:28:54):
Just trying to figure I don't know, I don't deputy.

Speaker 3 (02:28:57):
You know, really good to We all know about the
lack of transparency in the Biden administration, right, I mean
you couldn't find bid Well. I mean you couldn't find him,
but the White House Press Corps protected him.

Speaker 2 (02:29:08):
It's like that never was brought up. You're gonna call
them legacy media again.

Speaker 20 (02:29:13):
Yeah, I have it.

Speaker 2 (02:29:13):
I haven't adopted legacy media. I don't say that count
just late'scross your arm. So anyway, so that's kind of
setting it up.

Speaker 3 (02:29:30):
So now can you believe that same media has the
audientsity to say Trump's not being transparent enough.

Speaker 2 (02:29:36):
You're not going to tell me that that that we
get different news based on what we watch, right, And
so he's basically give the White House Press Corps a
civics lesson about what Biden did or lack of, and
what the presidency holds the power. Stephen Miller, Deputy five.

Speaker 15 (02:29:54):
It is true that many of the people in this
room for four years failed to cover the fact that
you're Biden was mentally incompetent and was not running the country.
It is also true that many people in this room
who have used this talking point that Elon is not
elected fail to understand how government works. So I'm glad
for the opportunity for a brief civics lesson. A president

(02:30:18):
is elected by the whole American people. He's the only
official in the entire government that is elected by the
entire nation. Right, judges are appointed. Members of Congress are
elected at the district or state level, which is one man.
And the Constitution Article two has a clause known as
a vesting clause, and it says the executive power shall
be vested in a president singular. The whole will of

(02:30:40):
democracy is imbued into the elected president. That president that
appoints staff to then impose that democratic will onto the government.
The threat to democracy, indeed, the existential threat to democracy,
is the unelected bureaucracy of lifetime tenured civil servants who
believe the answer here to no one, who believe they

(02:31:02):
can do whatever they want without consequence, who believe they
can set their own agenda no matter what Americans vote for.
So Americans vote for radical FBI reform, an FBI agents
say they don't want to change, or Americans vote for
radical reformat or energy policies, but EPA bureaucrats say they
don't want to change. Or Americans vote to end DEI
racist DEI policies, and lawyers of the Department of Justice

(02:31:25):
say they don't want to change. What President Trump is
doing is he is removing federal bureaucrats who are defying
democracy by failing to implement his lawful orders, which are
the will of the whole American people.

Speaker 2 (02:31:41):
Boo, I mean, really, what you talking about? To the point,
let me walk out the narratives and Trump, you just
keep signing bad call, going all bald.

Speaker 5 (02:31:51):
Okay, that's.

Speaker 1 (02:31:56):
The crack in.

Speaker 2 (02:31:58):
Can I tell us some people's heads are not good
for that.

Speaker 5 (02:32:00):
I know Greg, I know he's a very smart guy.
That's all he's worried about. Smart.

Speaker 2 (02:32:08):
Can hear one word?

Speaker 8 (02:32:09):
Can I tell a quick story about this guy, Stephen Miller?
All right, the better be SUPERQUI super cquel.

Speaker 6 (02:32:13):
Y'all.

Speaker 8 (02:32:14):
Remember y'all remember Sean Spicer, y'all remember Sean Spicer.

Speaker 2 (02:32:18):
He was He was on the show one time.

Speaker 5 (02:32:20):
He was he was, he was a guest on the show.

Speaker 2 (02:32:22):
He's on Newsmax now or something like that. Yes, he
was one Nation something.

Speaker 5 (02:32:26):
He got fired by Biden. Y'all.

Speaker 8 (02:32:28):
Remember he got fired by Biden. He was also on
Dancing with the Stars at one point. Everybody there, there's
all this backlash because he's not Sewn Spicer.

Speaker 2 (02:32:37):
I thought he was a commissioner of the NBA when
I looked at.

Speaker 5 (02:32:39):
But this involved Stephen Miller and Seawan Speiser.

Speaker 8 (02:32:42):
Stephen Miller said to Sean Spicer after he got fired
by Biden, We're going to sue Joe Biden for firing you,
even though we actually support his ability to do so.
Because of that suit, it kept getting pushed up to
higher courts and higher courts, and then the highest court
in the land decided actually, as president, Joe Biden can

(02:33:04):
fire anybody he wants because he's the president and he
has the power to do that.

Speaker 5 (02:33:09):
So that suit would then give Trump now the power
to do what he's doing.

Speaker 7 (02:33:14):
Uh.

Speaker 8 (02:33:14):
Sean Shawn Spicser told this whole long story on Glenn Beck.
It's a twelve minutes video. I'm gonna I'm not gonna,
you know, put you guys through that. So anyways, Stephen Miller,
guy is he's playing forty chests, so to speak.

Speaker 5 (02:33:29):
He's a very smart dude. And uh, I'm glad that
he is on Trump's side. And that's that whole story.
And Greg thinks his haircut isn't good.

Speaker 2 (02:33:37):
Yeah, he looks like what's his name? Who Silver? The
NBA commissioner, Adam Silver, like a vampire.

Speaker 5 (02:33:45):
He does, he's not.

Speaker 2 (02:33:47):
I'm just saying speed is a good example. He's got
a good hand for you. But you can't go. I
don't know what's under there. Not everybody does.

Speaker 5 (02:33:55):
That's not the important cart at all for the second, right,
I mean, that's what you got. He's on the line.

Speaker 2 (02:34:01):
Oh well, I said, I gotta have a top of
the hour.

Speaker 1 (02:34:10):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. You better listen up.

Speaker 2 (02:34:28):
You know what we say. Ball you gotta find.

Speaker 1 (02:34:39):
The voice of reason in an unreasonable world. The Rick
Burchers Show. We're here.

Speaker 2 (02:34:46):
It's good, everything's fine. Everybody calmed down, saddle. We got
a lot to do this hour, America, and I hope
you'll join us. A Burgess ball battle will break you
out in this hour where people who are actually trying
to get to know each other will be staunch enemies
of trying to play for a chance to spend that

(02:35:06):
will in hopes of some wonderful cash. Could also be
a bit all a bundle. You never know, So that's
coming up a little bit later this hour. Speedy, Greg
abder All here, Panama City, You're in the crosshairs. We'll
see you tonight, Lord Willie, as we'll all load up

(02:35:29):
and head your way not long after the show today,
and we'll be there for the Man Church Conference tonight
at First Baptist Church, Panama City. Looking forward to meeting
all of you that are coming from all over the
country for this weekend. If you don't have if you
don't have tickets, you can still join us guys, or
you can get them right now at the Maanchurch dot com,
so you already have that handle before you arrive tonight.

(02:35:50):
Doors open at six and we look forward to hanging
out with you tonight and also having another powerful weekend. Okay,
so as we start the hour, Greg is upset somebody,
which you know, how many times have I said that
we have golden ticket seats now that they have turned
now into the vox seats, and so people are coming
into the vox seats, like you said on box seats

(02:36:11):
that they're now vox seats. We're having fun with that.
So people are continuing some old traditions, like some people
bring us food. It's not a requirement. It's not a requirement. Yes,
the tickets are free, uh, but but I mean it is, uh,
it's not a requirement to do that. So someone and
usually people who are big supporters of what we do,

(02:36:33):
which thank you very much, they pick up on themes
that are going on. Huh. So somebody brought in some
of these Jimmy Dean instant breakfasts and I'm sorry, I'm
gonna have to talk to the sales team. How we
got they owe us money? Yes, I mean you ask
how many of these things? We're probably moving now. They're
not even we don't even have an advertising agreement with them.
But anyway, Jimmy Dean these instant breakfast things at Greg Hordes.

(02:36:56):
So so somebody, while I heard him in we Go,
I have somebody, some kind person in the box seats
brought you brought us some Jimmy Dean and you you've
kind of claimed them as you're own already. I get
to you one, all right. So so this is this
has led to someone who keeps trying to email. Realize

(02:37:17):
that it was answer back email. I thought, well, man,
that's a good idea. Appreciate the tip. You know what
I'm saying. What's wrong with you saying thank you very much?
Like a quick reply? Sounds good? Want to emphasize it. No,
I didn't say anything like that. I know how you
hate that, but this is so I mean said it
all right? Go ahead. This is the third email I've

(02:37:39):
sent attempting to help you further enjoy the Jimmy Dean
simply scrambler.

Speaker 4 (02:37:44):
Scrambler, sorry that I also love. I've given you a
tip of how it could possibly be even more tasty
but for you, but you refuse to reply to my emails.

Speaker 2 (02:37:55):
Refuse Okay, I'm not sure why you would not respond
with some one was trying to help you enjoy awesome
food even more. I don't enjoy being rudely ignored, so
I won't try to enhance your food experience in the future.
Can I say this, Sonya, If you don't like being
rudely ignored, greg is not your game. First of all,

(02:38:18):
that is not your rudely ignores every I agree with this,
son Y. Barbecue sauce added to anything is good. I'm
just telling you I couldn't reply with that. No, I
guess I could have, but yeah, you could have to me.
It was just to hey, here's some info, all right.
I didn't think it was Sonya would have liked to
have had a little thank you very much. I'll try that. Yeah, well, suggestion,

(02:38:42):
thank you, son I haven't tried it yet, but I
do love barbecue sauce that she's talking about. To add,
it'd probably be really good. How long would it take? Honestly,
I want you to type it. How long would it
take to type the phrase good suggestion? Okay, here we go.
I'm pretty slow, y'all know that. Okay, try good? And
how you spell suggestion? Just try it auto correct? Yeah?

(02:39:02):
How about that? I even put an exclamation point on it.
Did you finish it? Yeah? That was five seconds. He's
hitting sin right now there. It is six seconds for skin.
I think she sent the first one three weeks ago, long, Greg.
I just thought she was giving me a good idea
and know she wanted a response, which is fine. I

(02:39:23):
just forgot. You don't think people want a response when
they A lot of times when I do that, I'll
read something I'm more respun later and then I forget. Yeah, okay,
I do it. Then? How about it? Sonia? Let you
know she did not like being rude ignored, not just ignored,
rudely ignored. She's trying to enhance my food experience, right,
that's funny. I think Jimmy dean instant breakfast and food

(02:39:44):
experience may be a bit of an ex exaggeration, hyperbole
that it is. Did you see what he did today?

Speaker 3 (02:39:49):
He heated up his Jimmy Dean today and he miscalculated
when the break time was versus when we're all saw it,
and he brought it in hot and he stared.

Speaker 2 (02:39:58):
He stared at it like a dog. There's at this ball.
The entire segment, you could think it was a little
bit high about trying to burn my mouth anyway, speedy
baby Gray's gouts into the mouth, that'd be great.

Speaker 3 (02:40:14):
Uh, cleared that up on that night, burnt his throat
the other night he said, I was so hungry, why
not just waited thirty seconds?

Speaker 2 (02:40:25):
And you regretted so much too, And you think, what's
gonna happen when he keeps going? Yeah? Uh? But speaking
of that, I got into this scene last night, anybody
here in the vox seats, and he all got connections
to the Carolinas and all the Carolina thing, and I
knew I was gonna knew it was gonna happen. I
knew it was gonna happen. Wonderful people, wonderful people. Remember
we went through this with the the former brother in

(02:40:49):
law with this Carolina thing. Oh yeah, so we get there.
I knew it. I knew that here we go. I
knew it was gonna happen. So I'm like, he was,
Hey tonight, we're going. And they did a great job
with the food line, I mean, twelve hundred men a while,
and hey tonight we're having pulled port. And I thought,
here we go. You've got somebody from Alabama in here.

(02:41:11):
And I bring up the starfoam thing has everything in it,
and sitting here in my two choices, this mustard based
stuff and vinegar, and I'm like, where's the barbecue sauce?
And they're like, that is the barbecue sauce. No, it
really isn't. They said, hey, but now it may be
a sauce. I'll give you that. That is sauce. It's
it's a mustard sauce. That's what that is. It's not

(02:41:32):
a barbecue sauce. And what's this vinegar? Will you use
the vinegar too? I'm like, just vinegar? What is this
a salad? It's a different I don't hate it, you know,
I don't want to replace the regular barbecue with it.

Speaker 1 (02:41:44):
There you go.

Speaker 2 (02:41:45):
But I mean I can eat it. See, I think
I'm gonna lift up, crack eggs, eat it. I didn't
have the eggs yet when this happened. The eggs, Remember,
the eggs were given to me about the time that
I was going my head set up. You talking about
the worst possible time to get it. It was not
that I'm very glad to have the eggs, and and
it was a gift that stayed with me the entire
way home. And fragile eggs you gotta get them all

(02:42:05):
the way home from South Carolina. But I made it.
I made it. But yeah, this is Carolina, and they're
always just a little just a little snoody about it.
You can't question it. You can't question it. Oh, this
is this is the best. This is the best way
to do barbecue. Let's well, why don't you just say
which is accurate? You're our guests eat it the way
we eat it, which is what I did. There's nothing
wrong with that, But let's not start this. This is

(02:42:27):
the only way it should be.

Speaker 5 (02:42:28):
Yeah, no, I'm not saying that.

Speaker 2 (02:42:31):
Yeah, I'm looking down on Onbama just a little bit
with your barbecue and all this, And let me tell
you can get on us for a lot of things.
Do you not get on about barbecue? We got that
dial then.

Speaker 8 (02:42:43):
I like the red sauce. I like the white sauce.
I like the vinegary sauce. I don't want it the
color of mustard. It's gonna bother me. If it's the
color I just were red.

Speaker 2 (02:42:52):
You would have been bothered. It was you sure that one?
I'm supposed to go on chicken the yellow it wasn't yellow,
had the yellow, and the other was just vinegar.

Speaker 5 (02:43:03):
Oh yeah, here's the map, barbecue map.

Speaker 2 (02:43:07):
There it is vinegar, pepper there too. Wonderful time, wonderful
people were better at barbecue. That's okay. I'm your guest.
I eat it the way y'all eat it. It was fine.
But listen, I don't want to have We didn't need
to get into this. This is the better way we
could have left that out. We don't need for that. Yeah,
y'all like it.

Speaker 5 (02:43:27):
Y'all like it pulled like you know, shredded kind of pulled,
or y'all like getting cue more cute.

Speaker 2 (02:43:35):
Que?

Speaker 5 (02:43:36):
Yeah, you even though like a they're like small cubes
of meat instead.

Speaker 2 (02:43:39):
Of like, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, that is I like it.

Speaker 1 (02:43:41):
I love it.

Speaker 5 (02:43:43):
That's South Carolina cube sandwich, that stuff with bread and meat.

Speaker 2 (02:43:49):
They got great, great hospitality, great feet.

Speaker 5 (02:43:52):
You didn't like it better.

Speaker 1 (02:43:54):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, broadcasting from the real world,

(02:44:19):
the written butcher's story.

Speaker 2 (02:44:23):
Oki dokie, Here we go. It's time for the Burgess
Ball Challenge, the old Battles. Ready to go the Burgess
Ball Battle. As we bring people in here that he
are meeting each other for the first time today, and
we make it as awkward as possible. I'm making two
of them play each other in basketball. They are buying

(02:44:43):
for a chance to have a spin on the old
wheel of bundles, bits and bucks. You gotta win the
Burgess Ball Battle. Uh So, here we go, speedy. We're
gonna randomly draw two numbers and when those two people
will take on each other for a chance at the wheel. Greg,
if we could not bother you because I know that

(02:45:07):
you're still emailing Sonya, but go ahead, so which reminds
me of my wife just text me and says she
agrees with Sonya. I know I tell you something I
don't think your wife liked either too. Is when you
you were being negative about something earlier in the show.
She needs to quit listening to the show. Okay, it's going,
Oh wow, this is going to be It looks like Egbert.
You're up, buddy, Greg, Egbert is going to play and

(02:45:30):
you're going to do battle against Bailey. Killpatrick Bailey. Let's
koe Bailey. So Agbert take some Bailey to kill Patrick.
All right. So and they're shaking hands, and so here's
what happens. Those of you that are listening at home,

(02:45:50):
you probably know this by now, but there's two basketball
goals for the Burgess ball battle. Each person has got
a basketball goal that is theirs, and then they have
thirty seconds, both of them. Whoever scores the most points
in thirty seconds on their goal. There you go, there's
the winner. Now remember the last ten seconds. It goes
up to three point shots. So there is a chance

(02:46:12):
to close the gap at the end if you can,
if you can hit them, all right, So a hot streak, Yeah,
all right, so you good? Here we go. Go. Yeah,
there they got they're shooting out. Egbert's off to a
to nothing start. Oh but the kill backers closing. Kip
Backer takes a lead. It is six six, eight six,

(02:46:34):
it's eight eight, ten, eight ten, ten, twelve ten, they're
doing nice. Twelve it's gonna be a tough with oh kill.
Patrick moves ahead seventeen.

Speaker 1 (02:46:45):
All right there you know.

Speaker 2 (02:46:46):
Egbert's making the move. This is bigger Harberg. You got
a hit this there you go. Edward goeshead twenty one,
hever it's he came back. Yeah, over twenty one to eighteen.
Egbert Bailey Kilpatrick. You've got nothing to be ashamed of.

(02:47:09):
You got nothing to be ashamed of. Man, you fought hard.
Let's go Egbert Wow, all right, Egbert, Uh, you get
to come up there and give the will a spin. Greg.
This is another Greg and whatever it lands on that
will be you know, the final word from the will.

(02:47:31):
He's a Look he's touching the one thousand dollars options
and give it a spin. Let's see what happens. Greg.
Al right, here we will to me that somebody knows
what they're doing. How will Greg? Egbert fair? The will
will speak and here it can becomes here it comes.

(02:47:52):
Look he's gone, he's share.

Speaker 5 (02:48:02):
J Rick j Rick almost song.

Speaker 2 (02:48:06):
Yeah, I'm walking some do you have Do you have
a particular song that you like Egbert that I can
walk you favorite song, my gosh, California. Oh that's so
long that'd be hard to walk. He's such a long beginning.
Give me some of the shorter beginning. Okay, okay, he says,

(02:48:26):
you pick it, Rick, you can ask me this and
my am I hot rocking d J Journey journeys.

Speaker 3 (02:48:34):
He likes journey, he said. I think I think that's
a he's got a great attitude about it. And that's you,
assuming that's MISSIPI state how many clicks was.

Speaker 2 (02:48:43):
He to click? Was he two clicks? One literally right here?

Speaker 5 (02:48:48):
And he's a thousand there here that sound that's a
thousand dollars?

Speaker 2 (02:48:53):
Yep, Sorry you were there. I thought I thought you
had it.

Speaker 5 (02:48:57):
He won the game, though, you can always that's riceless.
Winning the game is priceless.

Speaker 2 (02:49:03):
Here's what I'm thinking. Yeah, I don't know about that one. Okay, Wow,
well that's a good one. I'm torn between two because
if you think about coming out of the break, you
know the I mean, when you're really trying to get
everybody fired up separate ways. You know what I'm saying,

(02:49:25):
that's bad. That's not bad, you know, So I'll try
that one for you, Greg, and I'm gonna send it
out to you. Okay, So I'm going back into the
days of being a hot rocking DJ. Let me get
it set up here and this is this is like
I I just you just called, made a request. Here
we go w R A B rick Burgess in the

(02:49:48):
night Time. Send the one out to Greg a Birch.
A tough day on the wheel for Greg, but he's
got plans tonight, Ladies plans night. Here's journey by request
on w R A B. You're home for classic rock

(02:50:09):
and roll. And and the other one I was gonna
try was don't stop believing that one? That one doesn't
you know in this Let me see, Bailey. I think
you've had a great attitude about this. Yeah, here we go,

(02:50:32):
smiling really Greg Burgers in the Nighttime Classic Rock w
R A B. She got a call from Greg and Eggbert.
She had a tough night facing the wheel tonight. Don't
you give up, Greg, don't you ever stop believing?

Speaker 16 (02:50:47):
Just a small town down.

Speaker 2 (02:50:50):
Okay, I like that. So that might have been more encouraging.
Yeah that might have been. Yeah that's good. So that's good.
So Greg, I hope that helps some Comparing that to
one thousand dollars is tough. One click away, one click away? Yeah,
what about Rick? Jody is his wife who's here with him?

Speaker 3 (02:51:10):
What about if he called in like a love song request,
just a shout out to her, and then that's kind
of what we're doing here.

Speaker 5 (02:51:16):
Well, he did already say that he had plans tonight.
That made me feel long.

Speaker 2 (02:51:21):
Now here we go w A R and b rick
Burgers in the night times broken heart out there tonight,
gonna Jody Egbert tough evening for her. Her husband says
he's fake. I love when they're right here. I can

(02:51:42):
watch their eyes so good. You know, it's fun.

Speaker 6 (02:51:49):
You know.

Speaker 2 (02:51:49):
The sad part about it is that that form of
radio is over. I know nobody does that anymore. You
remember hearing that man, you just be so fired up
in a car you couldn't stand it, and you thought, man,
whoever that is on the air is the coolest person ever.
Then you'd actually see them at a remote. You wish
it never had They were never cool.

Speaker 3 (02:52:04):
They were never cool, Greg, just but you didn't have
to text man, right Besides, you wished to walk George Michael.

Speaker 2 (02:52:13):
I'm practice, Greg, Do you see what you're working on.
That's what you gotta be working on. We gotta be
working Okay, you gotta be working on that. And what's
that called letters? W A R B hunky Yeah, E
R B B A R and B. That's awesome. You
know A W A A you could do w R
A B. That's probably better.

Speaker 3 (02:52:34):
W R A B B R A addler. Now when
you were on the air, were you Chris Eagle or
what were you?

Speaker 8 (02:52:42):
Like?

Speaker 5 (02:52:43):
This is this is Monday Morning Meddalmania. Thanks for listening.

Speaker 2 (02:52:50):
Like N B R we really couldn't go instead of
trying to do the Rick Burgess, we could do the
Rick Burgie Show. Do w R B S that sounds
and the kind of W B I'm good?

Speaker 6 (02:53:01):
Do that to me.

Speaker 1 (02:53:02):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Time is running out,
the reviews are rolling in. On the twenty twenty five
Man Church Conferences, two powerful weekends remained Panama City, Florida,

(02:53:25):
February twenty first and twenty second and Atlanta, Georgia, February
twenty eighth and March first. Powerful Worship, high challenge, strong
equipping and beneficial fellowship with men from all over the country.
Get your tickets for a life changing weekend in Panama
City or Atlanta now at Themanchurch dot com Disciple men

(02:53:47):
change everything.

Speaker 2 (02:53:50):
There we go tonight Panama City, it starts. Still tickets
available if you want to grab them. Next week Atlanta, Georgia.
The coola to be that Hebrews looking forward to seeing
all of you there next weekend, So don't miss it.
There we come back. You know, I saw Speedy Hey

(02:54:12):
yesterday he got his Apple Watch trying to be sharp
looking at your lab. I got I'm documenting. I'm a
a lab and you Yeah, you don't even know who
that's right, mister ile looking at real Yeah. So so anyway,
if you want to, but if you are, I'm still
in the five. Yeah, you're waking up with a back pain.

(02:54:32):
Waking up, you know, you just get hot during the
night then work. It's probably because you have a mattress
that wasn't customized for you. That's exactly right, and you
need to be like Greg and Lee Lee Burgess and
you need to get you a customized mattress. Helick Sleep
dot com slash Big Vox twenty seven percent off right now.

(02:54:52):
They customize your mattress based on your feedback. A little
sleep quiz doesn't take long, Greg, did it? That's how
low hassle it is. Okay, yes, Sonya, I was about
to say it took almost as long as it took
for him to tell Sonya, good suggestion. But anyway, if
you would like to get one customized for you here

(02:55:12):
in America at their own manufacturing location, they'll send it
directly to your door after they get all your sleep information.
You got one hundred nights to sleep on it. The
shipping is free, and then you will love it. But
if you don't something about it you didn't like, well,
then their refund. Okay they have, and they've got them
for big and tall, they've got them for children. But
a customized mattress makes all the difference in the world.

(02:55:34):
And get twenty seven percent off at Helick Sleep dot com,
slash big Vox or go to Rickburgess Show dot com
under sponsors. Okay, well you know us in the little
segment DJ Rick. Now we got all the different eras,
and now Speedy's parents have. Now they're making requests. Take
your requests here and we have do we decide we

(02:55:56):
like WRBS? I think so? Do you like that better
than w v O X I know v O X okay,
W Yeah. W RBS sounds cool w RBS. And what's
our frequency? What would you like our frequency to be?
Could be any frequency do you like? Do you like
something up in the one hundreds? You like the ninety nine,

(02:56:18):
ninety four, ninety five? I like ninety nine five, like
one oh one, you're like ninety nine, ninety nine.

Speaker 5 (02:56:26):
I always liked ninety nine.

Speaker 2 (02:56:28):
Ninety nine, six, ninety nine seven, ninety nine five. What
do we like?

Speaker 8 (02:56:33):
Well, this is so stupid and funny, but as a kid,
I always wanted to start my own radio station.

Speaker 5 (02:56:40):
Sure and have it be eighty eight because that's the
lowest band on the fmpre down there. But because then
you could I could use Stone Cold Steve.

Speaker 13 (02:56:47):
Austin and could we'd be like, we play the best
music ever, and that's the bottom line, because you know
how you would say that's the bottom line, and it's
the lowest frequency, that's the bottom line.

Speaker 8 (02:56:58):
Well, you thought you really thought that truth we'd use
we'd use that as our radio identifiers.

Speaker 2 (02:57:06):
So but you said, spit of your dad now wants
me to be a fifties DJ, which I was.

Speaker 3 (02:57:10):
I wasn't alive, he said I've heard them DJ Rick
to play some splits splash that was taken a bath
by Chuck Berry or either Johnny be good. Now I
was telling you, well, I was telling y'all on the
break and I've discussed this before, but some of the
most fun is when my mom and dadd are with
us and try like going to Thanksgiving or something, and

(02:57:31):
there in the back seat and we just played DJ
and it's all the music they remember.

Speaker 2 (02:57:35):
Oh yeah, Sherry's dad. We have the most fun with that.
My father in law our favorite thing. We just get
because this new technology, we can find whatever they want. Yes,
And so we get him in the car just to
ride around. He'll just start making fifties requestions about he
loves the fifties.

Speaker 3 (02:57:48):
Oh yeah, and it brings back, you know, the stories
that come with it and the drive in and how
that they used to cruise and do different things.

Speaker 5 (02:57:55):
Okay, we should maybe do one of four seven, you know,
because a flag of course.

Speaker 2 (02:58:00):
Because that's the flagship. Okay, we've got many frequencies out
there's like sixty something that's that's good, right, But if
you do anything back in the fifties, you got to
talk like a fifties DJ though, you got to make
everything run. I can't make everything that was never but
I remember, all right, So Smash Splash is actually Billy Dean,
Bobby Dean, I'm sorry, Okay, Bobby Darren, I'm sorry. I

(02:58:22):
can't race. I can't see Bobby Darren is Splish Splash.
Chuck Barritt obviously is of course Johnny. Yeah, yeah, yes,
I don't talking. I don't know. Splish splash has got enough. Yeah, probably,
I think I think you don't have to worry. I
want to hear it. Let me see, let me hear
it one time, taking the good night. Yeah you don't

(02:58:49):
remember that. I'm back when I was in the fifties, Greg,
Johnny be good. That would be sixty.

Speaker 5 (02:58:57):
Oh yeah, sorry, I did my math.

Speaker 2 (02:58:59):
Wr so And of course the the the fifties DJs,
I mean they were I'm wide open. It's it's you
gotta be I mean, you're I mean, you're really getting
after Yeah, yeah, so do huh yeah I do. But
he's probably loving what's your mama's name, Becky? Okay, Rebecca,
if you're serious. Yeah, respect w r B as everybody

(02:59:25):
cruising out there right now, send this one out to
John and boogie. Hey, John, don't worry Old Rick in
the nighttime. I'm here for you, buddy, cruising.

Speaker 17 (02:59:37):
With w R b ass down in Louisiana cost the
new r N way back up in the wood among
the ever But you know, let's go there.

Speaker 2 (02:59:46):
We go for John and Becky he is that is
so awesome. Now there's one song here. You don't want
to walk, Greg, But why do you know? Why are
you We're having fun. We're having fun.

Speaker 5 (03:00:00):
Kick what song here?

Speaker 2 (03:00:01):
He don't know? You're your's an instigator?

Speaker 5 (03:00:04):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (03:00:05):
Yeah, don't work him into that everything, Greg, of course
I do, okay, but we're not doing that everything. Let
me tell you what. I wonder what. I hate to
tell you what. I'll tell you what. Another song. When
we were in middle school and an older kid introduced
to that song, you couln't believe it was real words, Well, okay,
all right, we got it. Okay, so there you go.

(03:00:27):
That's fun. Here he goes, and and there here you
go in the world. You get away with that in
the fifties.

Speaker 22 (03:00:37):
Greg, okay, release, No, he's not sweet, please stop, please
stop going nowhere brought joke Berry up.

Speaker 2 (03:00:48):
I didn't. No, I didn't. Speedy's dad brought him up,
and Becky okay, and Becky, Becky, my dad your kryptonite,
so you will better watch out. No, he didn't to see.
He's what you're doing right now. The man who wrote
Larry the Leaf, who writes all our poems, and powerful
man of faith in God, and he has a sweet

(03:01:12):
moment he wants to have with his wife Becky, frust
me being the fifties DJ. And we're doing a little
Johnny be good and here you go, I said, was
there's another song? He says he's got a lot of songs. Greg,
he's got a lot of say that mister Wilburan would suggest.

Speaker 3 (03:01:27):
He has a lot of songs. I guess you're gonna
make fun he can't see now too. Here we go,
we're gonna make fun of that.

Speaker 5 (03:01:31):
I guess, here we go make fun of that?

Speaker 2 (03:01:33):
Great? Yeah, never have if you're bringing it up like
I have. Wait a minute, what are you say? I
ain't never made fun of somebody being blunt? What what
are you serious? Great, God's listening. Yeah, you're making God
sad right now?

Speaker 1 (03:01:46):
What were you saying?

Speaker 6 (03:01:49):
Know?

Speaker 2 (03:01:49):
I argue, there's a difference between blind and legally blind.
That was the only argument I made. I didn't say
there wasn't I'm gonna start that. I want I want
you to listen to me right now. I want you
to listening right now. There is a difference. But I
want you careful making Outlandia's statements because there's not a
category in the world we can bring up that you
could say with zero hesitation. Why I've never made fun
of them before? Now you can't greg You can't say

(03:02:10):
that about any category. There's no category. Now you may
not remember it, but you can't say it. Think about
the odds. Why don't you step outside and look at you?

Speaker 6 (03:02:20):
Right?

Speaker 2 (03:02:21):
Do you think you wouldn't make fun of something not
a blind person? I don't know you have witness. I
did say anything cruel. We had one story about a
guy who he's blind and read the story on he
was legally I have many words for you. I have
to Are you forgetting? All I said was, there's a difference.
Are you forgetting our younger years what we had a
blind person amongst us? Oh? Well, yeah, okay? Then in

(03:02:43):
the Blind Skull just come wrestle Oxford. Remember that they
were good. That it's a weird turn. You had to
keep in contact with him the whole time, right, but
I would think so. No, but some of them were
really good, Yes they were. My dad just texted me.
You know, Greg, when you're blind, everything else still works
of Hey, yeah, I didn't do anything your dad's text. Okay,

(03:03:06):
he says, Hey, I'm rolling on the floor laughing. That
was great.

Speaker 3 (03:03:09):
Please tell DJ Rick those were some good old days.
And if I wasn't blind with Greg love.

Speaker 2 (03:03:19):
Dad, you're the best that's given about another song? Noboddy,
he's probably an't even thought about that to see.

Speaker 5 (03:03:24):
My dad didn't think like that.

Speaker 2 (03:03:25):
But he likes Chuck Barry so a minute ago. Good,
that's good. So yeah, I thought it was a little
offul little mint. You know what Greg wanted to me too?
He goes, say, what want you send one out to
him from the Marshall Tucker Band. Yeah? Why, I know
where you go, but of course you do. That's where
you are.

Speaker 1 (03:03:44):
This is the Rick Burgess Show Morning. In order to
truly a fit from this show, you must have a
sense of humor. So like enough Francis and enjoy the

(03:04:06):
Rick British Show.

Speaker 2 (03:04:10):
Yep, yep, we had a great time today. If you
missed any of it, go back and catch the archives
on the podcast or YouTube channel and you will carry
I got all right, So let me just kind of

(03:04:31):
set the table for you because for a lot of
you were wrapping up our time together after this segment.
Here's the things you need to know, all right. So
this weekend another episode, episode six. We spent thirty one
years doing the Rick and Bubba Show. Loved every minute
of it, and there were some endearing moments that will

(03:04:52):
last forever. And we have a new podcast, Rick and
Bubba's Greatest Hits and Radio Goal. Episode six will be
out this weekend wherever you get podcasts. So if you
haven't got that podcast yet, you can. There's a lot
you can go six hours of it right now. So
a new hour comes out tomorrow. Also, I want to
let you know about this. There is just a single

(03:05:13):
man church over the weekend, not a conference, but a
single gathering at one of our over twenty three hundred
churches that do the strategy. First Baptist Church, Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
That's Wingo's church. He runs the men's ministry there and
they have doctor Drew Chapman coming Sunday night free dinner
or as we call it here in Bama supper at

(03:05:34):
five pm. And they always serve a great meal and
it's free, so guys enjoy that. At First Baptist Church,
Tuscaloosa on Sunday night. Obviously, we're all gonna wrap up
the show and then we'll start heading our way to
Panama City, Florida. Greg Speedy will join me. Adler cannot
make the trip this weekend, but we will be there
along with Dean and Sarah, Ted Traylor, Rich Wingo, Andy Blanks,

(03:05:56):
Chuck Hooton and all the guys, the musicians and singers
as we do the Man Church Conference Panama City at
First Baptist starting tonight. And if you want to join us,
tickets are still available to find those at the Manchurch
dot com and uh they'll take care of you right there,
or just come to the door tonight. I think that
opens at six. Looking in the box seats, there they are.

Speaker 6 (03:06:20):
There, they are.

Speaker 2 (03:06:22):
Into the box seats sit at so we always we
tried something new with the box seats, and that is
to meet each individual and if they have a question
they want to ask, they can because they've been thinking

(03:06:43):
all right, here's the opportunity to get on the inside.
So Tony, let's make our way over here to the
Big Boy guests.

Speaker 6 (03:06:48):
Mike.

Speaker 2 (03:06:48):
Tony Bedford is coming over to the Big Boy guest
Mike Wall Wall. Yeah. So, Tony, Tony, where are you from.
I'm from East Boga, Alabama. But Greg, that's our part
of the woods. I told him earlier that everybody went
to college with a thought that that was a made
up name, that it wasn't so. Uh So, Tony, tell

(03:07:11):
us a little bit about yourself. Well, I'm an it guy.

Speaker 12 (03:07:14):
Uh.

Speaker 23 (03:07:14):
I'm also in the National Guard, Army National Guard.

Speaker 2 (03:07:16):
Awesome, thank you, Okay, good well, thank you for the
service to the country. Anything you need to ask you.

Speaker 23 (03:07:22):
I had a couple of things. One is I hadn't
noticed an a FIB commercial since you guys talked about
how inconvenient, unconvincing Kareema jewel the bar is. So you
can probably get Jimmy Dean to take that spot.

Speaker 2 (03:07:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 23 (03:07:37):
And then and what I'd like to see is more
spins of the wheel, since the account and weighted the
wheel so it wouldn't hit any money.

Speaker 2 (03:07:46):
Thank you very much. Uh and uh. He brought his
Skittles too as a Joe thanks to thank you for
bringing us unhealthy thing you can eat that And he
also and also made himself Also Tony made a fake
back stage pass for making fun of us losing our lanyards.
He has it on Greg, Greg, Do you want to
take on more? Here's Greg Egbert. We met Greg state.

(03:08:10):
He was one click away from winning one thousand dollars. Greg, Greg,
tell us on some about yourself.

Speaker 12 (03:08:16):
Not that long.

Speaker 21 (03:08:17):
My wife and I were from outside of Columbiana, Alabama.
We've been in Alabama. I've been in Alabama since eighty five.
I'm from Mississippi, Go Dogs State. One question, I asked
you this earlier. You answered it to me, but I
don't know if you ever said it on the on
the air. The bumper music y'all have where it says

(03:08:39):
you got to listen up.

Speaker 2 (03:08:40):
That's right. It's that your band Lucky Mister mister Lucky
it is. It's actually a song that Greg and I
and some other friends of ours wrote when we were teenagers,
and the band then was Mystique, which then turned into
Silent Rain, which then eventually would turn into Mister Lucky
down the great song. Yes, so thank you. We wrote

(03:09:02):
that as teenagers, so that that's uh, Ryan Greenwood on
that incredible lick which sounds great, and Greg of course
was bass player and he were you playing bass? We
wrote that song you're doing guitar then wrenching because Mickey
Schadrick was was based then.

Speaker 5 (03:09:16):
But feature the adequate bass work of Greg.

Speaker 14 (03:09:19):
There it is.

Speaker 2 (03:09:20):
Yeah, you can get them, yeah, mister lucky. We only
did one album which actually featured original songs from other
bands that we did when we were younger. Uh so, yeah,
that's available. Fat Chance is the name of the album.
There's nine original songs there. Great time your wife Jody, Jody, No,
you don't want to do that, but Jody Egbert is here.

(03:09:41):
You heard that. Lily, their their daughter is here. Hello, Lily,
she's with us and Brandon Kill Patrick, Brandon, would you
like to approach the big boy Bailey too? Bailey, you
come on to because y'all will be the basketball there
Brandon and Bailey Kill Patrick. So, Bailey, you were so
close you you just jumped out to a lead on

(03:10:02):
the Burgess ball battle. What do you think happened?

Speaker 24 (03:10:05):
I think that I heard y'all saying good things, and
so I have that mindset where I have to feel
like I'm doing bad maybe better.

Speaker 2 (03:10:16):
I got to going on you when you.

Speaker 16 (03:10:18):
Complimented me, it kind of threw me up. Yes, it's
your child, most have it's your.

Speaker 2 (03:10:28):
Fault, Brandon, were you heartbroken?

Speaker 6 (03:10:31):
I was?

Speaker 2 (03:10:34):
Where are y'all from home? Jamie the intern that we
missed it today? It's a Highland home.

Speaker 16 (03:10:43):
Squadron.

Speaker 2 (03:10:43):
Yeah, y'all got any questions or y'all good? So?

Speaker 24 (03:10:46):
I actually I'm a high school teacher and for my
bell ringer, I asked my students to come up with
a topic if I got the opportunity to ask you, okay,
And the most popular question was how did y'all even
just come up about the show? Like how was it started?
So this show or all the way back to ricking
Bubble just the freaking bubb like just original.

Speaker 2 (03:11:07):
Yeah, the Riginally we team, I gain the team? Yeah,
the team. We Bubba and I knew each other in
college and you might heard the story with the Spanish class.
Speedy also went to Jacksonville State. We all went to
Jacksonville State. There this se messages and so so they
majored in partying. That's where that's where we met. I
was on Hon Roam. Yeah okay, and then Bubba was
a character on the show I was doing. We knew

(03:11:28):
each other because he had got to talk to a
station about trying to get them to hire me to
come there, which he said was his ultimate plan, which
led to thirty one years of radio gold. And so
he was the engineer and I started talking to him
on the show and he started doing good Old Boy
Theater and then we came back in ninety four and
made him co host and off we went nice.

Speaker 16 (03:11:49):
That was the year I was born.

Speaker 2 (03:11:50):
Yeah, Lake and Anderson, where's the laking? No, no, she
says she's taking Joseph. Joseph. They don't want to come
to the Big Boy Mike. So know that Laken and
Joseph are here, and we thank y'all for being here today.
And y'all are from Greenville, right, Greenville, Alabama. Oh that's right,

(03:12:14):
So glad you're here. So thanks to all of you
for being with us today. We hope you enjoyed your
time here in the box seats, and thank you for
continuing to support what we do on the Rick Burgess Show.
So on behalf of Speedy, Greg and Nadler, thank you
and thank you for all the wonderful snacks you brought
to for the road. We'll take those with us. Also,
hopefu all of you have a great weekend and if

(03:12:36):
