Speaker 1 (00:10):
You better listen up.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
You know what we say.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
Ass I'm gonna tell you.
Speaker 4 (00:19):
You gotta find.
Speaker 5 (00:24):
The voice of reason in an unreasonable world. The Rick
Burgess Show.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
Well here we go.
Speaker 6 (00:32):
It is a brand new hour, brand new show, brand
new week Thank you for being with us today, America.
Speaker 3 (00:39):
Yes, lots to cover because we haven't been together in.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
A few days.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
So that's that means you're just more to cover than ever.
Speaker 6 (00:46):
Uh So, the game's all here, Speedy, Greg Burgess and
of course one Eddie van Adler all in the MIDI
we'll break down the stories from the weekend. A lot
of it will be within the show because we were
(01:07):
on the road this weekend.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
You take this bunch on the road.
Speaker 6 (01:12):
We're coming back totin stories, So we have those for
you today and we'll run those down from the weekend,
and then we look ahead to another active week as
we'll go back on the road again this weekend to
Hot Atlanta, Atlanta, Georgia. The final Man Church conference of
(01:34):
the year we'll be coming up this weekend. We'll recap
the one in Panama City, Florida, this past weekend. We've
already updated you on what happened in Birmingham back in
the end of January. Then the final conference is coming
to Atlanta this weekend. So fellas, after you hear some
of the stories today, if you've kind of been vacillating
(01:55):
on whether you're going to go to the conference or not,
and now you think you can, tickets are still available,
don't miss it. Okay, you can get all the details
at themanchurch dot com. But fellas, as, we kind of
got off to a bit of a rocky, rocky start today.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
You know, it's part of what we do.
Speaker 6 (02:14):
I mean, you know, we anytime I'll say this for
our state, sweet home Alabama, where we all live, I
will say this for our state.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
I know that there was.
Speaker 6 (02:26):
A time in the fifties, sixties, even into the seventies
when we didn't have much of a deer population. And
I want to credit all of the biologists and all
the you know, wild game fish people who committed to
bringing the population of the North American white tail deer
(02:49):
back to Alabama.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
Good job you did.
Speaker 6 (02:52):
It there everywhere, every to the point that they live everywhere,
they are everywhere, and trying to get from point A
to point B without hitting one of them.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
They've become they're like so much bigger than possums. Oh
so much.
Speaker 6 (03:08):
You know, you're running over a damage. Running over a
possum is not that big a deal. But uh so,
it had not happened to me. It has happened to
Greg more than once. Right, Oh yeah, yeah, Speedy's.
Speaker 7 (03:19):
It happened to you.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
Happened to me. Happening Speedy happened to you.
Speaker 8 (03:23):
I was in I was a kid in my dad's
car in Texas and then I was on my motorcycle
that one time and the deer was just running next
to me.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
Oh yeah, I remember that.
Speaker 4 (03:31):
We were just like like we're buddies in a herd
or something.
Speaker 7 (03:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (03:34):
Well, today, unfortunately for me, here it comes the bell
tolls for the ram fifteen hundred today. So I was
I was five minutes from the office, five cotton picking minutes.
Speaker 4 (03:49):
He's holding part of his bumper.
Speaker 6 (03:50):
Everybody, I'm holding part of the bumper a and you remember,
and you know I've been trying to and I know
they're after me because I speak out against animals are
now attacking us at this was not.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
A deer that like stepped into the middle of the road.
Speaker 6 (04:05):
And you know I should have been paying attention because
I do watch for them, and I've had many close
calls with him. I've had many close calls this deer,
as I know many of you have experienced. Greg said
he has speedy, says he had sometimes they I don't
know whether they're down in a ditch close to the
road and your your vehicle surprises them, whatever it is.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
And all of you said you had a similar experience.
Speaker 6 (04:31):
This deer just ran into the side of the truck
just I mean wide open, I mean just paniced and
just ran into the side of the truck. And of course,
you know, my first thought is just continue to drive
the truck just like it is, but because it'll run.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
But you can see it though, Rick, Yeah, yeah, there's.
Speaker 7 (04:52):
A picture there.
Speaker 9 (04:53):
Yeah, but it's just missing a piece of the front
left water panel.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
There under earth and I think the door is then
it to where it went down the side of the door.
So yeah, yeah, it's just a slight dent.
Speaker 9 (05:05):
Yeah right, And okay, we got we got top bumper
off into Now. Now let me tell you if that
if that slight dent in the door was all there was,
I would never address this.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
I never never but this mangled bumper in your.
Speaker 7 (05:18):
Headline bust and the headlight.
Speaker 4 (05:20):
Oh, he did crack the headlight.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
So I have to it's always uh, you know, duct tape, Rick,
I know, but I'm gonna have to. I'm gonna have
to address that.
Speaker 7 (05:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:29):
Yeah, you can't just move. That's this one. You can
see the inside of your bumper. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (05:35):
Maybe for the first time for me ever in the
history of the many years I've paid car insurance. Maybe
I'll get them to pay for it.
Speaker 4 (05:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
I've never still ahead. I've never made a claim.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
Never.
Speaker 7 (05:47):
Yeah, they're way ahead.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
Yeah right, so that way one to drop you. Now, yeah,
you actually make it. How dare you make a claim?
Speaker 1 (05:53):
You're out?
Speaker 7 (05:54):
What are you doing? So?
Speaker 9 (05:55):
And this one, like you're talking about, there's there's times
that you see him on the side and then you're like, no,
don't do it, no, don't, don't, don't stretch and you
kind of have a warning like you like you're talking about.
This one was no warning you you couldn't do anything.
Speaker 3 (06:09):
Yeah, I had that happen one time. It's just wham
and scares.
Speaker 7 (06:13):
Crap on it.
Speaker 6 (06:13):
The last thing I saw, I mean I was looking
straight ahead. You would not have seen the deer straight
ahead is in the peripheral. I went to like to
the left, and then when I looked, I'm just like
nothing I can do. No, you have just run into
the side of my truck, you idiot.
Speaker 4 (06:27):
What do you do the deer? How's the deer doing?
Speaker 1 (06:30):
Dead? Is a wedge?
Speaker 7 (06:32):
I don't have that.
Speaker 9 (06:34):
That'll happen. So, Uh, great way to start the week. Yeah,
and we're off and running.
Speaker 6 (06:40):
And all I could think about was need to get
to Atlanta. Yeah, of course I have. I gotta take.
You know, Greg and I are rotating. He carries the
most of this low, which I appreciate. But Mom's got a,
you know, one of her many doctor appointments today. She'll
get to riding the diney truck.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
And so you know, we all have running around we
need to do.
Speaker 6 (06:59):
I don't I do, And I know it's my own fault,
but my schedule really never allows for one thing to
go outside of what is planned. Which I know that's
stupid because life doesn't doesn't do what you tell it
to do. It's gonna throw you some surprises.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
It is.
Speaker 6 (07:15):
But I never ever make like a deer in this
Yet no schedule of mine even remotely allows for deer
in the side of the truck.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
No not, I mean nowhere. I mean it's not even close.
Speaker 6 (07:24):
So so it'll I'll either ride a dinner up truck
to Atlanta, or we are all now riding with Speedy
or or maybe the Hallmark bunch that we work with,
who will fix this for me.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
Maybe maybe they have some car program.
Speaker 6 (07:42):
I don't know, but but you know, because once your
once your dinned up car goes away, I mean you
you're without it for a while.
Speaker 7 (07:48):
You are you are not quick fixed? You got order
stuff and.
Speaker 9 (07:54):
I know you, so I go by. I'm wasting my breath.
But probably inside your insurance they do all for rentals,
I'm sure. But you're not going to get into it
like that because.
Speaker 6 (08:04):
So what do I not have this right? Want they
have to send their dude or out to look at
your truck? Yeah, make pictures of it and all that garbage.
Speaker 3 (08:12):
But I'm gonna do all that. I don't even know
who my agent is. Yeah, but now you can.
Speaker 9 (08:17):
You can take it to wherever you're going to get
the work done, and that adjuster will come to them.
Speaker 6 (08:23):
Really, yes, is there no scenario that I'm waiting on
an adjuster or I go to the agent's place.
Speaker 9 (08:28):
And they take look at it, and then some you
can even take a picture and upload it and then
they look at it. But in this case, you can
take it to where you're gonna you're gonna go. They'll coordinate,
the adjuster will come out, and then they'll work out
what needs to take place.
Speaker 3 (08:43):
And I'm sure you have all had this happen before.
Speaker 6 (08:45):
You've been with the insurance company so long that the
guy retires that you used to always call, and now
you've got some new person who know who it is.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
Yeah, so you don't have to worry about that.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
I don't.
Speaker 9 (08:56):
I mean, yeah, I call the eight hundred number on
the back and just say, hey, so I'll.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
Get with the Hallmark folks. I'll go to their body shop.
Speaker 6 (09:03):
Yeah, they'll I'll give them my insurance information and they'll
make the claim.
Speaker 9 (09:07):
Well, no, no, this is what we just had to
do because we had a situation. We called and told
them the situation. They said, all right, where are you
taking it? And then we told them where we were
taking it, and then that the adjuster went there.
Speaker 6 (09:19):
So I'm I will contact my insurance today let them
know when you ran into the side of the truck.
I'm sending it to get repaired. Here's where I'm sending it, right,
m h yeah.
Speaker 9 (09:30):
And then and then they'll and then they'll they'll then
the repair shop will say, well, this is what we think,
and then the adjuster says, well this is what we think,
and then then they'll they'll take care of it.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
That's what happened to me.
Speaker 7 (09:41):
Can you imagine?
Speaker 3 (09:42):
Can you some others? Can you imagine it? Can you
imagine if?
Speaker 6 (09:46):
Yeah, I'm sure I do have a car in the
insurance somewhere, but can you imagine a car I'm gonna get.
Oh yeah, it smelled like somebody's been smoking in Yeah,
you know, so.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
Somebody sat there everywhere today, Rick, I just almost got
hit by two of them. Yeah, they are out. I
did see something the way every.
Speaker 7 (10:06):
Yeah, there's not one morning I don't encounter everyone.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
All Right, we'll be back.
Speaker 5 (10:21):
This is the Rick Burgis Show. Warning. In order to
truly benefit from this show, you must have a sense
(10:41):
of humor. So lighten up, Francis and enjoy the Rick
Burtish Show.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
Right, lighten up a little bit, America. Here we go.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
The ju ju bad.
Speaker 6 (10:58):
All right, So a couple of things need to hit
you with, uh, you know, keep you informs. So first
of all, let me go to CB Distillery dot com.
If you're still turning remedies, you know, like you keep trying. Hey,
I'm this is what my mama said to do. Are you,
you know, being gotten another prescription from some doctor and
(11:20):
it's not really doing it either? Why don't you move
to Cbdistillery dot com because ninety percent of the people
like say, for instance, if you're struggling with sleep, ninety
percent of the people report better sleep with CBD. That
that's certainly a big deal something we can all use.
If you don't get enough sleep, you know you're gonna
be you're gonna be chasing. We all found that out
again over the weekend.
Speaker 1 (11:40):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (11:41):
But anyway, so there's they've got all sorts of just clean,
one hundred percent natural products that are available, and if
you want to look at some of the five star
reviews they're getting incredible. We're gonna get you a twenty
percent discount to get you started. Uh And of course,
remember they do have a one one hundred percent money
(12:01):
back guarantee.
Speaker 3 (12:02):
So go to Cbdistillery dot.
Speaker 6 (12:04):
Com use our code big Vox twenty percent off. You
can also find that link at Rick Burgess show dot
com under sponsors you use all natural clean products that
actually work.
Speaker 7 (12:17):
All right, So.
Speaker 6 (12:20):
Some of you on the text line, UH just fy
answering some of your questions. I love this one. A
young person, uh is up and moving and you know
they're adult now, but they're saying, listening to you, guys,
describe all that's involved when your car is damaged. I
now understand why my dad got so upset when I
kept messing our car up.
Speaker 3 (12:42):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (12:42):
I didn't realize the hassles because when you're when you're
a goofy teenager who's driving, and your parents are still
you know, they're the ones, you know doing the insurance
and all that. You know, you think, why is dad
so upset that I got the car?
Speaker 1 (12:55):
Don? Well?
Speaker 3 (12:55):
This is why? Yeah, okay, because it's a big deal.
Speaker 6 (12:57):
It's a big hassle, and up are asking about asking
about the deductible. I am I do the high deductible,
try to get lower.
Speaker 3 (13:09):
What do you call it monthly? What do you pay rates?
Speaker 6 (13:13):
The premium and whatever you pay on it's a premium,
that's right, And so I think I'm in every six
months premium guy.
Speaker 7 (13:20):
So it hurts six months.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
It does.
Speaker 6 (13:22):
So I've tried to go high deductible, but unfortunately, I
think this will probably exceed it.
Speaker 9 (13:27):
Oh yeah, yeah, sadly because it took it like it's
your left light, party of bumpser party your door.
Speaker 3 (13:34):
Sure, yeah, you know. And I've also been convicted that
I don't kill enough deer. Uh.
Speaker 6 (13:42):
We should be killing more of them, you know, and
don't donate the meat. If we've got enough meat, we're
letting too many live. Yeah, they were out and about today.
Speaker 3 (13:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (13:51):
So now when you when it comes to hunting and
your truck, what is the total combined when you combine.
Speaker 6 (13:57):
Those Yeah, that's true. Yeah, thank you, Adam.
Speaker 3 (14:01):
Sorry, we just need to park a truck on a
green field. Yeah, so we see them, let.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
Let them run into it.
Speaker 7 (14:07):
Uh so.
Speaker 9 (14:08):
Uh sometimes they're everywhere, but where I'm sitting right.
Speaker 3 (14:11):
Yeah yeah, yeah.
Speaker 6 (14:14):
And I know some of you are saying, well, didn't
you know at one time have a deal where uh,
you know, a company provided vehicles for you guys. Yet
we did in the past, but we don't have that anymore.
So No, this is just my my own truck. I
bought this truck straight up and so, but but I
but I bought it, and I deal with a with
with Hallmark Auto Group out of Birmingham, and uh you
(14:35):
know they they they have a deal with us there
in Birmingham. So I'll I'll get with them and we'll
get it handled.
Speaker 1 (14:40):
You know what I was.
Speaker 9 (14:41):
I was surprised with somebody bumped into us in a
parking lot or whatever here not too long ago. I
was really surprised with not that the insurance companies get
too lazy, but they they don't really want to come
out anymore. So it's like, yeah, well, what's the problem. Okay, here,
here's here's your number for the case. Blah blah blah blah.
Law take it to wherever you're gonna get it serviced at. Okay,
(15:03):
this is a this is a certified you know, sure
provider for for this making model, and our insurance company.
Speaker 3 (15:11):
Okay, you're good there.
Speaker 9 (15:12):
Then we'll just trust their appraisal of it or how
you whatever you adjustment. Uh, and and they'll write it
up and then is it drivable?
Speaker 1 (15:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (15:21):
Okay. We then just keep it.
Speaker 9 (15:23):
Until the parts come in, Okay, I think, And then
when the parts come in, you can bring it to
us and we only have it for maybe four or
five days versus four or five days, well just depending
versus versus three weeks and the truck just sitting in
the parking lot, you know, and then you.
Speaker 3 (15:39):
Day.
Speaker 9 (15:39):
That's that was our experience, but yours might be different.
Speaker 6 (15:42):
By the way, when I just said four or five days,
I realized I sounded just like Charlie Brown when he
saw that Snoopy was participating in the contest to win
money if you could, you know, do all the memory.
Speaker 3 (15:52):
He was mad about how.
Speaker 6 (15:53):
Everybody was taking Christmas and turning it, you know, to
to to secular. Yeah, you know, and he got mad
when he saw his doll was participating.
Speaker 3 (16:02):
I just realized I sounded just like that.
Speaker 9 (16:03):
Yeah, yeah, with money, money, money.
Speaker 3 (16:07):
And five days, four or five days would be excellent.
Speaker 7 (16:11):
I mean that.
Speaker 3 (16:11):
Okay, you're upsetting me now.
Speaker 9 (16:13):
I'm just sorry. If I I just want you to
know it. It's probably gonna be about a week and
a half. What am I driving at that point? Then
you'll you'll either drive one of their cars or you're ruber. Okay,
I mean it's it just get ready, even if you
wait to when the parts come in, it's gonna be
I'm gonna guess maybe two weeks, a week and a half.
What would you do four or five days is on
(16:34):
the good end.
Speaker 6 (16:34):
What if I went to get a lyft or an
uber and when it put who is this? And and
I put in there dank dank burgers.
Speaker 7 (16:43):
That's not gonna be a handle though. No, this is
for you.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
That's it. I'm driving it just like it is.
Speaker 7 (16:48):
Yeah, nothing fall off of it.
Speaker 6 (16:50):
I really would know that you would if I wouldn't,
if I would not get a ticket, Yeah, if I
would not have my wife just go. You can't ride
around this.
Speaker 7 (16:59):
This is make it's a new truck.
Speaker 6 (17:01):
Yeah, not really. I bought it used, but it was
real used. They do only had eight thousand miles.
Speaker 3 (17:07):
Did you did your headlight go out when it got hit?
Does it work because it's cracked all up? It's all jack, Thanks, but.
Speaker 7 (17:13):
A lot of a lot of water's gonna get in you.
Speaker 6 (17:16):
Keep it going, Keep it coming, Keep it coming, y'all.
Make sure this is privately tape, doomsday.
Speaker 1 (17:22):
Keep it coming.
Speaker 3 (17:23):
There's that black Gorilla duct tape. You know that Mattical car.
Speaker 7 (17:29):
Anything Gorilla does?
Speaker 1 (17:30):
How about this?
Speaker 3 (17:30):
Listen?
Speaker 6 (17:31):
If there was any way possible because it is paid for.
I just walk away and leave it. I just go
get another one.
Speaker 7 (17:36):
Oh it's double crack.
Speaker 3 (17:38):
Yeah, you guys, it looks like it looks like it
still works over it. That's it. I would drive that
in a second. It wouldn't bother me in the list.
Speaker 7 (17:50):
A little bit on the door. You wouldn't even acknowledge
the door means nothing.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
That's going to turn into his farm truck.
Speaker 7 (17:56):
What about this?
Speaker 1 (17:57):
Anybody want it?
Speaker 6 (17:58):
Make me an offer, like it said, if I can
do well on it, I'm just getting me in the
d dealing with it. How about this, I could sell
that in the parking lot for straight cash, Like it says,
go buy another one quicker than it's.
Speaker 1 (18:11):
Gonna get fixed.
Speaker 9 (18:12):
Oh yeah, what you're prob even if you wait for
when the parts come in, it's gonna be a minute.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
By the way, it does hurt me that I didn't do.
Speaker 6 (18:19):
I think I'm punished because we do dough hunts early
in the season, and Brody and I went on a
dough hunt and we both let multiple doughs walk because
we did because we worried about camp house breakfast and
me not doing my part to keep the population down.
I paid the price for my own laziness.
Speaker 7 (18:36):
Regletting the walk. That's not honting, that's not you're right,
don't want right.
Speaker 3 (18:42):
And then this is why this happened.
Speaker 5 (18:44):
This is the Rick Burgess show. They can and do
the truth, the big just show.
Speaker 1 (19:04):
Here we go.
Speaker 6 (19:05):
Thanks for being with us today, alarrent so so things
you do need to know. We'll give a recap from
you know, stories from the road coming up from the
Panama City Man Church Conference.
Speaker 3 (19:18):
It was a powerful weekend.
Speaker 6 (19:21):
But of course you've got a bunch of guys traveling around,
there's gonna be all kinds of stories.
Speaker 3 (19:25):
So uh but.
Speaker 6 (19:26):
Remember this is it the last Man Church conference coming
up this weekend Atlanta, Georgia.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
It'll be at Hebron Baptist Church over in Dakula or
Dakula right the coula and how you all say it
the cula?
Speaker 1 (19:43):
Is it Tekula anyway?
Speaker 6 (19:45):
Georgia anyway, So over there, Jeff Strucker will be there,
Scott Dawson, Landon Dowden who's the pastor there at Hebron,
Andy Blanks, Chuck Hooton and the guys will be headed
to Atlanta. I'll be uh speaking as well, uh, Speedy
and Greg are going there. Adler's trying to work it out.
He may be there maybe on the Saturday part, but
(20:05):
the rest of us are headed that way to be
there for this weekend. And if you've been hearing you
and you're gonna hear some more stories today, all of
these stories, and you're thinking, you know what, I didn't
know that I could go. I'd like to maybe you
went to Birmingham and maybe you went to Panama City,
and you want more because you've got some speakers here
that you haven't heard yet, Scott Dawson and Struker that
(20:28):
join us in landing the pastor, but and Andy and
I'll be there again, so.
Speaker 3 (20:33):
It just join us.
Speaker 6 (20:34):
This is the last opportunity after this that'll be all
the conferences for the year, and we're already planning, you know,
twenty twenty six. Okay, So here's some things we got
to find out about the truck. A deer ran into
the side of my truck today. That this has happened
to Speedy, it's happened to Greg. I kept hoping it
wouldn't happen. You just hope you do your best to
try to watch these deer.
Speaker 1 (20:56):
But man.
Speaker 6 (20:56):
A lot of times they'll they'll just come out of nowhere.
So there's you see down the side there that.
Speaker 7 (21:01):
Actually helped clean the mud off.
Speaker 6 (21:03):
It actually helped clean the mud there just a little bit.
It almost acted as a brillo pad. That's not that bad.
I'd let that ride easy right there with a black truck.
I don't even know what you'd even notice that. Now,
this is where we've got problems right right here. Yeah,
that's that's where we've got Speedy's out there right now.
So speedy all I really somebody people keep asking me
(21:23):
if that headlight works.
Speaker 3 (21:24):
I don't really know.
Speaker 10 (21:26):
Right.
Speaker 3 (21:26):
All I'm gonna do is I'm just gonna unlock you
to unlock it, yeah and see it should uh see
if the lights come on here? Hold on all right,
hang okay, hang on just a minute. Yeah, yeah, okay,
so my light works. Oh yeah, I may drive this
from you now that now that that light works. Good guys,
I don't even think that looks that bad.
Speaker 7 (21:47):
Giant hold in front of the trug.
Speaker 9 (21:48):
What I'm telling you, if you want me to come
back this puppy down right here, is there anything here
I think should.
Speaker 7 (21:54):
Cover on the headlights busted.
Speaker 4 (21:56):
Is there anything loose? Speedy, Rick will leave something dangling.
Speaker 6 (21:59):
Now that there there was. Now there's one little piece
and it's a little bit loose. You feel good about that, Speedy.
Speaker 3 (22:06):
Yes, it's pretty well. How do you like that? Adlers
that bother you? That's not like it looks like to me? Sorry,
I mean I know I'm probably blocking here.
Speaker 6 (22:15):
Hold on the seat, you're fine. Oh yeah, yeah. Are
they going to replace that?
Speaker 1 (22:20):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (22:20):
That, Speedy was it was It was not even connected.
Speaker 1 (22:25):
It was just I need that.
Speaker 3 (22:26):
What is that that looks like to me? This is
by the way, you might want that. It looks like
it's the part number.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
Okay, I need that.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
I will tell you this. Check this out right here
there's the deer here right there.
Speaker 1 (22:38):
Oh look there it is. Wow, you stupid?
Speaker 4 (22:43):
Was it a dude or a guy?
Speaker 3 (22:44):
A girl?
Speaker 11 (22:46):
It was here?
Speaker 3 (22:48):
That'll stay on. Everything else is intact. Okay, it's oh wow,
that's gonna come on, Speedy, quick, turn stuff off. I'm
gonna stop touching it. There we go, okay, all right, gracious,
all right, So yeah, this this piece here really wasn't connected.
It was just it was just sitting there.
Speaker 1 (23:06):
That's it, all right.
Speaker 3 (23:07):
So here's what I'm gonna do. It's so so it
is what that is?
Speaker 4 (23:12):
You've been driving around with that loose thing on the interstate.
I could have killed somebody.
Speaker 6 (23:15):
I was only five minutes from here. It happened not
far from here.
Speaker 7 (23:20):
Hey, I thought I made it.
Speaker 6 (23:23):
Uh you could tell here it hit it hit down here,
but nothing's damaged.
Speaker 3 (23:27):
And then it hit here, Yeah, and kind of came.
Speaker 7 (23:31):
They tore all the dirt off of it.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
Yeah, washed it a little bit.
Speaker 6 (23:35):
Got a hard working truck, but somebody took a rag
when well, you know what some of us, our trucks
are working. If I had to watch mine after we
honted the other week, yeah, so there were just raining.
Speaker 7 (23:44):
Is a hard one, all right.
Speaker 6 (23:45):
So no, I hang't I can't sell this. No, that's
got two few miles on it. Five thousand, No way.
Speaker 4 (23:51):
How fast were you going?
Speaker 6 (23:53):
Normal speed speed limit is whatever it is. I honestly
think that right there's fear fifty five. I think I
was probably right around fifty five sixty somewhere in there.
Speaker 4 (24:04):
Boy ricocheted down the side of your truck.
Speaker 6 (24:06):
Rich, Well, you know it ran out of the of
the I guess the wooded area to my left just
ran right into me. You can see where it hit.
It wasn't in front of me. It came through to
the side. Yeah, I don't I don't know why that.
I don't know why they do that. I wish they wouldn't.
Do they not understand? I know they lose their life,
but do they don't understand how what a hassle they
(24:27):
put this through.
Speaker 7 (24:27):
I do think that she got the raw end of
the deal.
Speaker 6 (24:30):
Probably well she did, but at least she's in like
dear heaven. Now I've got a hassle with all this
getting it fixed.
Speaker 7 (24:35):
That's my point, you know.
Speaker 1 (24:38):
So uh So anyway there there we go.
Speaker 6 (24:41):
All right, Okay, So what I'll do is I will
contact the body shop today. You know, I'm gonna go ahead,
and now I will tell you this. Let me tell
you what's still ahead for me and Greg. You know this.
Here's what's a head for me. I've got to pull
up to Mom's place in that vehicle. Yeah, and then
because it's got the way it looks, it's then' gonna
(25:03):
pivot her into her car, which we keep hearing about,
and I'm gonna hear well, if my car was running,
we could just take it. So that's what's that's what's
what's waiting on me for today. And that'll pivot into
this thing about her battery.
Speaker 7 (25:18):
Yeah, it will, and we do need to do something
about that. I guess we do. It's not pressing.
Speaker 6 (25:23):
Well, it will be today because it's coming up for
me today. That'll be my conversation today.
Speaker 7 (25:28):
But she's had to get in my truck a lot lately,
so she's she's pretty.
Speaker 3 (25:31):
Good at it, but I'm she gonna be upset about.
Speaker 7 (25:34):
Well, it's gonna come up.
Speaker 6 (25:36):
Yeah, she's gonna look and say, well, your truck is damage.
We got to ride in that, And I'm like, yes, ma'am,
it's fine, he'll ride fine. And then three two, well,
if my car was running, we just take it right now.
So this is why, this is why I need my car.
I don't know why you and Greg won't help me
fix it.
Speaker 4 (25:51):
That will be said. That will be said.
Speaker 6 (25:53):
The Deep Freeze, you know she does, she doesn't drive,
but she has a vehicle. Yeah, and it's still there
ending in the Deep free is it's set out there
and you know, weren't getting cranked enough and now the
battery is dead and so we probably we need to
jump it off, we need to charge it something. You
don't do that, but she doesn't drive, so it has
to become a big priority to us, you know.
Speaker 7 (26:12):
And keep kicking.
Speaker 6 (26:14):
We keep kicking it down the road. But now today
we'll bring that conversation back.
Speaker 9 (26:17):
Do you want to go jump it off and let
it run after the show, just for.
Speaker 3 (26:21):
Like an hour? And there's no reason getting because I'll
be happy to do it, miss can.
Speaker 7 (26:25):
Now, there's no reason. Don't dragon that.
Speaker 3 (26:30):
I'm going. I'm going right into the battle of the
beach charger charge.
Speaker 7 (26:35):
Thank you.
Speaker 12 (26:36):
She told me the other day, call carbon and just
sell it to him and they can come get it.
Speaker 7 (26:41):
But that's not about I guess she said she was
going to saying that commercial. I'm just gonna call them.
Speaker 3 (26:47):
What please? Will somebody please? So wait a minute. So
when y'all go to pick her up, y'all don't just
take her car. Not now, y'all make her truck. Climb
up in y'all truck. Yes, good for wow, and she
was good.
Speaker 6 (26:57):
But one thing she says about her car, though she
thinks it doesn't, she'll think something's wrong with it.
Speaker 3 (27:02):
What's that sound? Yeah, you just don't want to get it.
You don't want to go there, right, you get in
that car to run?
Speaker 1 (27:11):
Huh.
Speaker 6 (27:11):
But Greg, the problem is I have no way out now.
It's coming up to that because of my damaged truck.
It's I may you know what I may do because
she gets in on the other side. That's not damage.
I'm not going to see. I'm not say anything, don't
even mention it. I think I'm just gonna load he
up in that truck. You know she's going to be
thrilled at how dirty it is. But and that's a
that's I need that. Yeah, yeah, I need that.
Speaker 4 (27:34):
Have you heard Have you guys heard of those deer
whistles that you put Yeah.
Speaker 3 (27:38):
I actually talked about this the last time.
Speaker 7 (27:40):
It's about like.
Speaker 6 (27:41):
Sea monkeys used to order when you was Yeah, it's
just like, you know, I love my wife with all
my heart. She keeps ordering this deer be gone or
whatever it is and putting it out there their flowers,
and I just want to say, honey, dear be gone.
Speaker 3 (27:53):
I think, don't weast stuff don't work?
Speaker 8 (27:55):
It says here moving faster than thirty five miles an hour,
It makes a sound that alerts deer and moves in
elk and anteloops and kangaroos of approaching vehicles.
Speaker 3 (28:04):
I've encountered a lot of kangaroos on one by the way,
a lot of pres text Rick, you're going into press,
thanks guys, ain't so being there for me?
Speaker 1 (28:12):
Guys.
Speaker 9 (28:12):
I think this is a solid text right here, fix
fix your mom's car, and then now you've got something
to drive while yours is in the shop.
Speaker 3 (28:19):
Now that's not a bad idea.
Speaker 1 (28:21):
Okay, do you think they're a bad it?
Speaker 3 (28:23):
Just need I mean, is it is it?
Speaker 7 (28:24):
Is it done?
Speaker 3 (28:25):
Well? Y'all got to care to know what's going on
with this one. He had all that work, so we
just need to jump it off and right around in
a little bit.
Speaker 7 (28:34):
It had a little hitch about it.
Speaker 1 (28:35):
It did have a hitch about it.
Speaker 3 (28:37):
Just you can you could either.
Speaker 9 (28:39):
Even pull up to any of these auto parts places
and they'll come out and check it, you know, and
just seeing that they didn't, well, you couldn't care any
less than you could.
Speaker 3 (28:50):
You care right.
Speaker 7 (28:51):
Fixed, But it's not bothering anybody.
Speaker 3 (28:53):
But right now, this may be bothered.
Speaker 6 (28:55):
This may be the best idea we got right now,
as long as you got a little hitch in it.
Speaker 7 (28:59):
By ain't going to w ain't going to Atlanta?
Speaker 6 (29:01):
No, no, but by you riding it around and now
you can really analyze the car and then probably needs
to ride a little bit.
Speaker 3 (29:14):
All right, we'll see, we'll check on it. Have I
got an jump caper?
Speaker 1 (29:21):
You want to go? Jump it off?
Speaker 13 (29:22):
Right now?
Speaker 7 (29:24):
I believe everybody, we're a little early, will.
Speaker 3 (29:27):
Be right back.
Speaker 5 (29:29):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the man who informed
dipping dots that they were not, in fact the ice
Queen of the future Rick Burgers.
Speaker 6 (29:51):
All right, so thank you for all your help today.
We'll move forward on that and I will see how
I go.
Speaker 1 (29:58):
We'll get it all done.
Speaker 14 (30:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (30:01):
Yeah, we've already asked Adler could we take his van
to Atlanta. He said that he and his family may
be going, so we can. So that would have been
a great answer in all of us.
Speaker 1 (30:11):
And that sweet van. Yeah, cruising to Atlanta.
Speaker 4 (30:14):
That's an idea, sweet sweet van.
Speaker 3 (30:18):
Yeah, there you go, there you go.
Speaker 6 (30:20):
So, by the way, Greg, I do want you to
know that I did see Don.
Speaker 1 (30:25):
Day at church yesterday.
Speaker 7 (30:26):
I've done it.
Speaker 6 (30:27):
He said to tell you, hello, sorry, let you down.
That's okay, So sad yes, it is sad. So that's
sad it is, so we'll we'll talk more about that.
We do have stories from the road coming up as
well as we all went to Panama City. We also
have a round of Haybird, Haybird that is action packed today.
(30:50):
It's got a lot in it. Hey bird, Hey bird,
So we'll hit that too. But who saw this one coming?
Here's the headline today, Vaping more dangerous than smoking.
Speaker 7 (31:03):
No, vaping mean.
Speaker 6 (31:05):
Chemicals more dangerous than smoking. It is a bombshell, first
of its kind of study, raising risk of three deadly diseases.
If you regularly use e cigarettes, you have increased your
(31:27):
risk of dementia, heart disease, and organ failure. Wow, but
puff on ugly, ugly ugly again? Who would have thought that?
Taking chemicals into your body and puffs of vaporous smoke
or whatever it is. It says right now adults unprecedented
(31:50):
numbers e cigarettes are actually addicting people more than cigarettes.
One in ten adults now estimated to.
Speaker 7 (31:58):
Be hooked on vapingly.
Speaker 4 (32:02):
So Alicia, teeth don't turn browns.
Speaker 6 (32:06):
This is research from Manchester Metropolitan University. They believe the
gadgets pose an even worse health threat than cigarettes.
Speaker 3 (32:17):
E SIGs allow.
Speaker 6 (32:19):
People to inhale nicotine as a vapor produced by heating
a liquid that typically contains, to Greg's point, all sorts
of things that I can't even pronounce.
Speaker 12 (32:29):
Yeah, that's got to be better for you than sometimes
just ground propylene glycol.
Speaker 6 (32:35):
What is that sounds danger All sorts of odd flavorings.
Speaker 1 (32:42):
They said that.
Speaker 6 (32:44):
The high nicotine content increases heart rates, blood pressure, making
vessels constrict, damaging artery walls.
Speaker 12 (32:54):
And you look like a moron when you take this
piece of equipment. Some of them look like like you're
holding a piston. Wow, okay, And I'm like, you know,
it's just and then all of a sudden they're engulfed
in a huge cloud.
Speaker 7 (33:06):
Yeah, you know you think the car's on fire.
Speaker 3 (33:09):
You really do.
Speaker 8 (33:09):
I think I'm gonna start entering those smoke competitions and
make like check it out.
Speaker 4 (33:13):
I can make like it looks like an octopus in
the cloud.
Speaker 6 (33:16):
Well, they're saying, here's the problem, and you could see
this one coming with Unlike a cigarette, with vapes, you
can just keep on going. You you don't know how
many puffs you had. The puffs are never ending. You
can't call it a four pack day or nothing like that.
And they're saying, like we found out a lot of
times with even the problem with some of these unnatural sweeteners,
(33:40):
Well we didn't know people would think because it had
no calories, they can now drink eight when before when
they were drinking the regular Sodi pop, they would drink
like one, you know.
Speaker 3 (33:51):
Two max.
Speaker 6 (33:52):
So people when they get this feeling they're doing something
more healthy, they just go all in and do it more. Yeah,
but they're saying that E sig is not a healthier choice.
Speaker 9 (34:02):
Stay away from the shocking shocking smells better though.
Speaker 6 (34:07):
It says these cigarettes contain harmful toxins and their long
term effects continue to be a mystery. But we're starting
to see that these new tests are showing it's not good.
Speaker 1 (34:21):
It is not good.
Speaker 7 (34:23):
That is pretty amazing. It's vape coom tests that showing.
Speaker 12 (34:27):
These are the coolest guys I've ever seen with them, right,
but they.
Speaker 4 (34:32):
Came straight from the Dungeons and Dragons competition.
Speaker 6 (34:35):
But when I when I see this, when I see this,
the first thing that hits my mind is how much
time is spent mastering this? Could Could it have that
time been used in a better way.
Speaker 7 (34:46):
And it took a lot of time.
Speaker 6 (34:48):
Anything else, Yeah, just something. Don't you think these people
could have done more with their life, you know, rat
if you got that kind of discipline, Just imagine, I mean,
what you could do if you actually used it for
something that mattered, something that.
Speaker 4 (35:06):
Anything would be better, Aki sack would be better.
Speaker 5 (35:13):
Your time?
Speaker 6 (35:13):
Hey bird, Hey, good see how donybody? How's your boy doing?
Just won the uhig smoke ring contest.
Speaker 3 (35:21):
He's a natural really really Oh yeah, I know, I
knew when he was young he had a this. Yeah,
he actually took puffs of smoke, went through two circles.
Uh he created too.
Speaker 6 (35:32):
They hung in the air and he put he he
sent some other mobs through there. As a matter of fact,
he's working on that, doing a vaight version of Pegasus.
I mean, can you imagine? I mean, it just seems
like that time could have done something, work on, you know,
curing cancer or something as opposed to getting cancer.
Speaker 7 (35:51):
Like I said, the commitment to this craft is this amazing.
Speaker 3 (35:55):
Yeah, practice hours.
Speaker 7 (35:57):
It's pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (35:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (35:58):
So there there they're saying that this is not good
and and again that's a that's a shock. Yeah, I
mean the first time this was somebody walked up and
you know, you're thinking, what's going on. Let's see, this
thing's got metals, it's got chemicals, and we're doing what
We're gonna suck it into our body? Okay instead of smoking?
(36:19):
Does smoking is not healthy? But good news. I'm not smoking. Yeah,
but you're inhaling metal. And do you know the flavor?
What is that flavor? Tastes fantastic? Is it made of
some chemical? Probably what chemical? I don't know, but I'm
not even read in it. But I'm not eating red
in M and m's anymore.
Speaker 4 (36:37):
Yeah, r f K does not approve of what's in that, don't.
Speaker 6 (36:39):
Oh do you think RFK is gonna start snatching vape
that makes red? What do these things called they have?
Speaker 1 (36:44):
They vape in?
Speaker 7 (36:45):
What's the name of it? It's little, the.
Speaker 3 (36:47):
Little thing they carry around. What is it called a vape?
Speaker 7 (36:50):
I think it's called evap jewel one.
Speaker 4 (36:53):
Yeah, I forgot about that.
Speaker 12 (36:55):
You're right, yeah, but then you got that like I
was talking about them big oh what they put all
the equity in And it's.
Speaker 3 (37:01):
Just you're right, though, Greg.
Speaker 9 (37:02):
The first time I came up on a car at
a red light, and I was like, oh my gosh,
the car's one and all of.
Speaker 3 (37:09):
A sudden you rolled down the window and.
Speaker 6 (37:10):
Your son, when are you gonna get a job and
move out? As soon as I've mastered these smoke rings.
Speaker 4 (37:17):
Thanks, If you've got a box, you're real serious about it.
But the vape box.
Speaker 6 (37:22):
You know, people people are saying on the text option
and I've seen this too, because they're not cigarettes, people
think they can get away with vaping anywhere.
Speaker 7 (37:29):
Have you ever seen these.
Speaker 3 (37:30):
People now that vape in the movie theater?
Speaker 7 (37:34):
Is that a lot?
Speaker 1 (37:34):
I don't know that.
Speaker 7 (37:35):
People people to try it.
Speaker 3 (37:37):
Uh, they'll get down there quick, little quick hit off
of it.
Speaker 7 (37:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (37:41):
And again if somebody saying, well, I just do it
because it relaxes me.
Speaker 1 (37:44):
I'm not addicted to it.
Speaker 6 (37:46):
Okay, starting right now, take it, put it in some
drawer and go through your day and leave it at
home or your parents house wherever you are. Yeah, and
see if you can go without it today. If you can't,
that's a problem, that's a proud is a problem. And
unfortunately this looks like it's not a healthier choice.
Speaker 1 (38:06):
No, So an R F K JR.
Speaker 3 (38:09):
Is coming for it is not r f okay, what
if somebody is like vaping while eating skittles, You're on
the edge of dead. Top of the hour.
Speaker 5 (38:28):

A little scary, a little scary, little scary.
Speaker 7 (42:04):
You can't really understand the words.
Speaker 4 (42:05):
But the words were a little berried too.
Speaker 1 (42:07):
They were a little bit I get you. I like
it though, did you like it?
Speaker 3 (42:11):

had a problem with any of these AI songs.
Speaker 3 (42:23):
Crazy that AI does that?
Speaker 4 (42:24):
Yes, it really is.
Speaker 6 (42:25):
Yes, hey birch Ha Burge from the guys uh at
Cotton Joe's who who They've done all of our logoing
and everything that everything has been great, except for the
banner that goes on the windows. That's been that has
not quite work. We're gonna have to go go back
revisiting messed up. Yeah you did so, hey, bird Ha Birge.
(42:46):
I sent Adler multiples to be considered from Tommy.
Speaker 3 (42:50):
Yeah. Now we can't play all of it. We're just
gonna play bits and pieces.
Speaker 1 (42:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (42:55):
Yeah, what do you guys want? Because he sent me
six different.
Speaker 6 (43:00):
So I think I think when we hear it, we're
gonna go, Okay, that's it.
Speaker 3 (43:05):
Can you just start and does it tell you what
the styles?
Speaker 7 (43:09):
Does?
Speaker 1 (43:09):
It does?
Speaker 17 (43:10):
So?
Speaker 4 (43:10):
I've this one is called eighties Van halen.
Speaker 3 (43:13):
Okay, okay, yeah, let's see here.
Speaker 9 (43:17):
Greg put down as Jimmy Dane on that one.
Speaker 2 (43:23):
Turns emails.
Speaker 1 (43:30):
Ji, I like that.
Speaker 3 (43:42):
Talk, so I'm just just start Trucker and I just talked.
Speaker 18 (43:45):
Over the tickets and the coffees, troll females coming in,
gotta take control the morning rush, the mics, lasting facts
in the house were ready to drive questions little men.
Speaker 1 (43:59):
Some never reside, but with Rocky.
Speaker 2 (44:01):
Steady don't need no need to hide. Just on the line.
Speaker 18 (44:05):
Turn the speakers of radio and the show eas avers.
Speaker 19 (44:12):
Can you field sound?
Speaker 2 (44:14):
Big facts on the mic? We're breaking the crown world
Rocky ways off.
Speaker 5 (44:26):
Can you field sound?
Speaker 10 (44:29):
All right?
Speaker 3 (44:30):
Just a little critique. We're getting closed.
Speaker 6 (44:31):
I'm digging the style. But remember this, and I know
what it's. It's it's it's a fallback position. We don't
want to date the lyrics to any time frame during
the day.
Speaker 3 (44:43):
We don't want mourning.
Speaker 6 (44:44):
All that because the show is heard by a tremendous
number of people on their own time uh and at
different times the not everybody is with us during the
actual live time the show go. So you want you
want to stay away from anything that labels it morning show.
(45:05):
Even though that is an experience for a lot of people,
it's not the experience for everybody. So you want to
do something that doesn't have any kind of time on it,
just just the show itself. Now, I do love the
way that was set up, and I would probably just
remove those lyrics.
Speaker 7 (45:20):
That talk about bring it down. Yeah, I would just
take those out.
Speaker 9 (45:24):
I like, yeah, I'm like you. I like the intro
and then and the music kind of just trails out.
You kind of just bring it down and start.
Speaker 1 (45:31):
Yeah, if you want.
Speaker 6 (45:34):
Really the chorus is the key because we probably won't
play the whole song anyway.
Speaker 17 (45:38):
Huh.
Speaker 3 (45:38):
I would bring it, Yeah, I can get it. But
I like the style of that one.
Speaker 8 (45:42):
Okay, all right, now we've got groove hard rock, we've
got hard rock, we've got modern rock, we got striper,
and we got Toby Mack style.
Speaker 7 (45:50):
What do you all say those again?
Speaker 4 (45:52):
Groove rock, hard rock, modern rocks.
Speaker 1 (45:55):
Give me hard rock, hard rock.
Speaker 9 (45:57):
Okay, all right, here we go maybe with play with
a good one here. Hey, I needs to make one
for Larry.
Speaker 1 (46:04):
Larry.
Speaker 16 (46:05):
Let them practice of day, wake.
Speaker 1 (46:09):
Up rock this show.
Speaker 8 (46:15):
Deal, it's the song Who's Rotting Up?
Speaker 7 (46:19):
That's not my style.
Speaker 1 (46:20):
I don't like deal. I never did like deal.
Speaker 9 (46:21):
Ok yeah, okay, so with what he these six different
versions of the same lyrics, is.
Speaker 4 (46:28):
It I felt like it? Yeah, I'm you'll want modern rock.
Let's try something modern.
Speaker 7 (46:35):
Let's go.
Speaker 2 (46:38):
Sound a wake up man, let's rock this show.
Speaker 4 (46:42):
Seem like the same word.
Speaker 7 (46:46):
I'd like to stay away from the screaming.
Speaker 5 (46:48):
He is black.
Speaker 4 (46:50):
Yeah, it is the same words, by the way, Jack,
So let's.
Speaker 6 (46:56):
Just go for style because we lyrically, we got to
get rid of the morning stuffy.
Speaker 17 (47:00):
D ready to roll.
Speaker 2 (47:03):
He's not sharing as Jenny d.
Speaker 3 (47:06):
If it was, if it was a screaming like say,
you know, you're kind of an a C. I like
a little raspy right field.
Speaker 6 (47:12):
There's a difference, yeah, but not not anything that sounds
you know.
Speaker 3 (47:16):
We don't want to scare anyone.
Speaker 4 (47:17):
No, you're striper.
Speaker 3 (47:32):
That's ready.
Speaker 1 (47:34):
That's not good. Yeah, I hope that one.
Speaker 4 (47:36):
I like striper. Okay, and that is maybe this will
be a totally different sound.
Speaker 2 (47:42):
This is his.
Speaker 4 (47:43):
It's Toby Mack style. So maybe I have a groove.
Speaker 2 (47:48):
Hey birch, hey birch, to wake up man, Let's rock
this show. Come the Sun's rising.
Speaker 20 (47:57):
Up.
Speaker 2 (47:57):
The coffee is black. Emails rolling, but we ain't turning back.
Big Fox in the house. We're turning it loud. The
Rick Burgess Show was rocking the crowd.
Speaker 1 (48:06):
Question just keep coming.
Speaker 18 (48:07):
The answers flow email stack time, but we're on to go.
Speaker 4 (48:10):
What birch on the mic? No time to stall.
Speaker 19 (48:13):
We're taking control. We're answering them all. Hey Bush, Hey Bush,
what's the words today? Big Fox in the studio. We're
here to slip, stand up and show. Let it all
go wrong. We're rocking the show. No time to be mopsys.
Speaker 1 (48:26):
Hey, I like that one.
Speaker 6 (48:28):
You can you can understand the lyrics on that one. Yeah,
I tell me, maggot, that's.
Speaker 4 (48:37):
Our computer is good at guitar.
Speaker 3 (48:39):
It really is.
Speaker 18 (48:40):
That?
Speaker 1 (48:40):
Is that all of them?
Speaker 3 (48:41):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (48:42):
Let's see we skipped? Uh did we skip what? Do
we skip groove groove rock or do we skip hard rock?
Speaker 6 (48:50):
We did groove rock one time, we did modern rock,
but I don't think we did groove rock.
Speaker 4 (48:58):
Its screwed.
Speaker 17 (49:12):
Sting in. It's my song.
Speaker 2 (49:13):
You it's time to rule different lyrics emails killing in.
Then they're taking.
Speaker 4 (49:20):
Their tool a little bit.
Speaker 18 (49:22):
Got questions, got complaints, but I don't care.
Speaker 2 (49:28):
I'm ready to h babe, and no need to be aware.
The cloud in the back, the waiting.
Speaker 3 (49:37):
Three quarter of it, Okay, yeah, okay, are well that those.
Speaker 6 (49:39):
Were different then right now, I think the two favorites
were Striper and Toby Matcer.
Speaker 4 (49:43):
Sureff, I like Stripper.
Speaker 7 (49:45):
That was fun.
Speaker 1 (49:47):
We get rotating.
Speaker 3 (49:48):
We canna have more than one, yeah, and so we
get them. That's a that's just stuff.
Speaker 1 (49:54):
Some guys sit downderneath.
Speaker 6 (49:56):
I'm gonna chow when the dripper wouldn't hit the We'll
be right back, and I got other emails.
Speaker 1 (50:02):
We'll actually breathe hanging there. Hey, birds come out next week.
Speaker 5 (50:06):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. The people who don't
like this show you wouldn't like anyway, The Lick Budge Show.
Speaker 3 (50:28):
Really also be around Debbie Downer.
Speaker 6 (50:32):
So we're back simply Safe, spending time with the show.
And we'd love to tay. Hey, we love it, we
got we love the new show.
Speaker 1 (50:42):
We're in.
Speaker 7 (50:43):
Let's go.
Speaker 6 (50:44):
People are responding Simply Safe dot com slash big Vox.
Right now, before it's too late, you can get fifty
percent off a new system. Yeah that includes you. You
do need to go with a monitoring plan. They'll give
you the first month of that free. But this live
guard protection you want that anyway, and it's about a
dollar a day what it costs to have people monitoring
(51:07):
your property in real time. They can interact, see somebody
come on the property, Hey, what are you doing here?
They can interact before there's ever a break in. They
can see carbon monoxide poisoning. Wake the family up, we
got trouble. They can see there's a fire, they can
see there's a flood, medical emergency, they already have help
on the way, all in real time. This is security
(51:28):
that we could at one time only dreamed about, and
it's now available simplysafe dot com slash big vox fifty
percent off a new system with a monitoring plan right now.
Also look for the link right there at rickburgesshow dot
com under sponsors. There's no safe like simplysafe dot com
slash big vox. All right, so we're going to actually
(51:53):
continue now and do a round of hay birds. Hey,
burds Adder, could you let's try it and see how
striper would feel. Okay, so right now, all right, it's
time for hay birds. Hay birds. Here we go, all right,
and then I would go right in right there. That's
(52:14):
really all we need, you know, we don't.
Speaker 3 (52:16):
That's the fact.
Speaker 6 (52:17):
That's one thing I'll tell all of you too, is
don't worry about doing a bunch of lyrics and all that.
If we can just get a good solid chorus and
something to do with email or hear from the audience
and then right into just a groove to talk over,
we really don't need any more than that.
Speaker 3 (52:32):
True. So that's that's like that. Did you like the
way that felt? I did?
Speaker 4 (52:36):
I did?
Speaker 9 (52:37):
I liked it, and I like the Tobby Matt, but
it's more of like a full intro, not not just
a do.
Speaker 7 (52:42):
You have the Tobby Matt one?
Speaker 2 (52:43):
Ready?
Speaker 6 (52:43):
Can I try it one time? Because those are two
I think everybody likes the most. Right now, time for
a little haybird. Haybird?
Speaker 7 (52:49):
Always tell me what if that was the intro?
Speaker 2 (52:54):
Haybird, then let's rock this show. The Sun's rising up.
Speaker 6 (53:03):
He goes right into the lyric. Uh So, yeah, we
need to maybe skip ahead on that one. Yeah, we
need the chorus. Really, is there a course in there
on that city.
Speaker 1 (53:13):
Rock and road, city.
Speaker 2 (53:14):
Fall and wide. We'll rock this moment field to tide. Hey, verse,
ain't worse. What's the word today? You think boxing the studio?
We're here to slip up and ship.
Speaker 4 (53:23):
Let it on go. We're rocking the show.
Speaker 2 (53:25):
No time to beating miles.
Speaker 1 (53:29):
Oh, now that's where we need it right there?
Speaker 2 (53:31):
I like that.
Speaker 3 (53:32):
Yeah, pull that back to right where that.
Speaker 1 (53:34):
I like that.
Speaker 9 (53:35):
And then we started there, and we could even pull
a couple of beats from the front and to put
it in front of it if we need.
Speaker 6 (53:42):
We can work with that one. Maybe we have that
one and the striper and we'll just rotate solid.
Speaker 4 (53:46):
Here's just that right boxing a studio.
Speaker 2 (53:49):
We're here to slave, stand up and ship. Let it
all go long. We're rocking the show. No time to
beating miles. Hey, hurning up loud in the rock.
Speaker 4 (54:10):
That come from I need to get into that.
Speaker 3 (54:13):
I sent that in. That's such mine, me and Philip.
I don't know who get the Obern in there.
Speaker 6 (54:19):
Hey all right, hey bird, hey Burde, this is from Larry.
Have you seen the air guitar competition on the Echo?
Speaker 3 (54:29):
Have you seen this?
Speaker 21 (54:30):
No?
Speaker 3 (54:30):
I saw I have not.
Speaker 9 (54:32):
I saw this a weird game last year or something
we came up on I don't know what it was on,
but I did see the Air Guitar Championship.
Speaker 7 (54:43):
On the channel when they when ESPN puts one channel.
Speaker 3 (54:46):
With weird STUFFO. This was earlier. I saw pillow fighting.
He said, Echo. Okay, I don't know where I saw it.
What is echo? But it's been a year or two.
I saw this and I could not believe what I
was seeing.
Speaker 4 (54:57):
I bet that was an auto correct from OCHO.
Speaker 9 (55:00):
Maybe so, I don't it was hilarious maybe yeah, I
don't know. But here's the thing, I can really get into it.
Speaker 6 (55:06):
Well, let me say this though, I've only seen one
air guitar thing and a panamizing thing, and I didn't
like it because when it used to.
Speaker 7 (55:14):
Be a show that came on during primetime, right.
Speaker 6 (55:17):
And when when Greg and I were growing up and
we aspired to have a real band. Before that we
were an airband, sure, but when we would do the airband,
we would master lyrically. We would you would think we
were singing the song and every lick, every instrument we
would master and look like we were actually playing the licks.
(55:38):
What I've noticed on some of these contests, they just
rule on how much stage presence they have and how
well they do on the stage. They don't really judge
on does this person look like they're playing guitar? Does
this person look like they're singing the song? And I thought, well,
that's what they should be judging on. Now this one
may be different. I haven't seen this one. The person
should look like they're actually playing guitar, like if they
(55:59):
have a tennis rack it. They should be up on
the neck and they should be you know, hitting the
lip on the runs like they're actually playing this. Now,
they may not know enough about music, like I didn't
to know where I'm supposed to be on the guitar.
But it's still but I'm still moving with what's happening,
like I'm playing now.
Speaker 9 (56:14):
What I saw it was full stage presence and to
what you're talking about, like they were getting after it. Okay,
And people are saying it was on the ESPN this
past weekend.
Speaker 1 (56:23):
Okay, I didn't see it.
Speaker 12 (56:24):
They must be doing it on the weekends because a
few weeks back, and I meant to bringing up on
the show, I saw pillow fighting. When I say that,
they're actually in a boxing ring dressed it. At first,
I thought it was like.
Speaker 3 (56:33):
An MMA fight, and then I look and they got
pillows and they're beating the crap out of each other.
Speaker 6 (56:37):
Pillaws, they said, a lady named Mom Jeans one. I
know I didn't see that. I'm so sorry.
Speaker 7 (56:44):
On the guitar.
Speaker 6 (56:45):
All right, when we come back, I've got We've got
a few more that will hit in heyburds hayburg and
I think we're dialing in what we want to do,
so thank you Tommy for sending those in. I think
we can work with a version of the Toby matt
One and a version of the Striper, and we can
rotate are playing both.
Speaker 1 (57:05):
Yeah, so I think we like.
Speaker 7 (57:08):
Those two, all right.
Speaker 3 (57:11):
They said they also had a stone skipping contest on
as well.
Speaker 1 (57:15):
We'll be right back, say close.
Speaker 5 (57:18):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the show that is
willing to search for the answer to why anyone would
drive slow in the left leg, the Rick Bridges Show.
Speaker 1 (57:36):
We won't give up.
Speaker 6 (57:37):
We're still trying to get to the bottom of it.
But all right, so we're working our way back. We're
doing Hayburd hayburds.
Speaker 1 (57:42):
Now.
Speaker 6 (57:42):
It featured a lot of emails about here's the various
shots at the theme songs and all that, and that's
been great. I love this one from the text line.
I would go with the stripper one later in the show,
Toby Mack, if you decide to do Hayburg earlier in
the show's funny and then some of you and yeah,
(58:03):
and I want to I didn't think this had to
be explained well. I mean, if you don't want the
songs to have anything down there about morning whatever, y'alln't
need to talk about breakfast and we're early and coffee.
Speaker 3 (58:14):
Let me just try to explain that quickly.
Speaker 1 (58:16):
A radio goob.
Speaker 6 (58:18):
Now, let me just try to explain that quickly. The
difference is which I thought was obvious. Even on the
radio network. There are stations that the show is the
afternoon show, not the morning show.
Speaker 3 (58:31):
Okay, that you mentioned the podcast.
Speaker 6 (58:33):
Hey, when we do the podcast, we know we're hearing
something that's already happened, and you're right about that. It's
different when we say we're not going to be radio
goops and pretend that when we do the show live,
we're not up in the middle of the night all
that kind of stuff. If there's a story tied to
that and the content, you know, we explain it and
that's fine, but what we don't want is the imaging
(58:54):
around it. If you're sitting there saying Knoxville, Tennessee, which
this is the case, and we're rocking along or your
afternoon drive and we're singing in every song we play
talks about up in the morning time to get up.
It was that it's different than I said, hey, young
to wive what happened me on the way to work
today for those of you that may be listening at
different times when we come in and then you tell
the story that that's completely different than the imaging around
(59:17):
the show to be telling you it's it's a certain
time of the day when it's not and so that
that there's a big difference in that, and that's not
that's not radio goog, that's just that's just marketing wisdom,
uh to you know, so so just uh your accusation
on that it's just as you're not you're not thinking
it through. But anyway, thank you for that. All right,
(59:38):
here's another one, Hey bird, Hey Burge. I like the idea,
and it's going to happen by the way this week.
I like the idea you are planning on the continuation
of read across America, but doing it where people can
access it whenever. But along with you wearing the turtleneck
and the tweed jacket, which is what we're going to do,
I will do that tomorrow with that one. Okay, yeah,
(01:00:00):
I like to see you at a Fedora. I don't
know that. I don't know about that well. But but
here's another one. But here's another one that you y'all.
Y'all are going to like this idea, but there's no
way to pull this off, especially when we have to
do it. But it's something maybe we can think about
in the future, you know, because this year we're kind
of like, you know, this is our first year to
(01:00:21):
figure out what we're going to do. And instead of
reading to the guys on the show, you should read
to Greg's grandkids, Speedy's grandson, and Adler's kid, bringing and
Chris Cross Apple Sauce them in the there listening.
Speaker 1 (01:00:38):
You know.
Speaker 6 (01:00:39):
I don't think I don't think we can be hard
to pull on. I don't think we can pull that
off tomorrow. I don't think there's any way for this year.
Speaker 7 (01:00:46):
At this time of day, it's gonna be hard to
pull in. That's it.
Speaker 6 (01:00:48):
That's a tough one. It's a great idea, but it
is a tough one. Uh said, would love to see
them interacting with you and just a thought, and that
is a good idea, it is. But love the show,
keep up the great work, especially love what you guys
are doing. Uh in the ministry part of the show.
Well then we got an update on that too. Thank
you for that.
Speaker 3 (01:01:07):
You agree that's a great idea.
Speaker 6 (01:01:09):
Yeah, but I see no way we can pull that
off based on where the kids are, that the.
Speaker 9 (01:01:12):
Travel time, the time of day, that the end of
the week. Maybe, but how about this, but what a
great idea? Yeah, but what a great idea. Uh Okay,
so I didn't know about this. Hey birds, Hey Burge,
we need you, Okay, my husband Clinton, we we cannot
continue to deal with the inefficiency in the seating system
(01:01:34):
at Texas Roadhouse. Oh okay, okay about that Texas right, Okay.
Speaker 6 (01:01:40):
The way they put you on the list via their website,
have the ability to text you that you're on the
on the list, then text you to come to be
put on deck. I just how about this? Can then
they have you come in and stand shoulder to shoulder
with Big Mama. Want want over twenty minutes or more. Wow,
just just have my name yelled once by the by
(01:02:03):
the most quiet girl in the building. Why why why
they got the loudest girl in the building yelling for
Grandmama's ninetieth birthday. Wyt you switch those rolls? Uh, we
need to hear when it's our turn. We don't need
to hear about grandmama's ninetieth birthday.
Speaker 7 (01:02:17):
A little more passion.
Speaker 3 (01:02:18):
And you know what he was angry when he wrote it.
Speaker 7 (01:02:21):
Yeah, yeah, everything to do with it.
Speaker 6 (01:02:24):
And meanwhile she's trying not to break a hip, getting
getting on, getting on the saddle, and Shanaia Twain singing
any man of Mine in the background. I don't understand
why we have the ability to text every other thing,
but we can't just text when the table is actually
ready for you to be seated.
Speaker 3 (01:02:41):
This system is flawed.
Speaker 1 (01:02:42):
Birds. We need you, We need.
Speaker 6 (01:02:44):
Someone to give attention to bring efficiency to Texas Roadhouse.
I just want my rolls in steak with having having
to rub up on Willie Wanda in some convoluted waiting area.
Speaker 9 (01:02:56):
Boy, he was real hungry, a concerned citizen, concern hungry citizens.
Speaker 6 (01:03:01):
Clinton and Alisa. All Right, I don't I don't think
I've ever an experience that I haven't. I don't know
enough about it, but this sounds like like reading your email.
Speaker 1 (01:03:12):
I want to be there.
Speaker 6 (01:03:13):
I want to come in and see if I can
fix it, because I think we can do better than that.
Speaker 7 (01:03:18):
Did he say they bring out a saddle and.
Speaker 3 (01:03:22):
Apparently that happens.
Speaker 7 (01:03:24):
I don't. I don't know. That's interesting, that's the case?
Speaker 6 (01:03:28):
Serious note, Hey bird ho burge. How about this Paula
White thing?
Speaker 10 (01:03:32):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (01:03:34):
Have y'all talked about we have? Look this?
Speaker 3 (01:03:38):
I like that.
Speaker 6 (01:03:39):
As I said before, there's a lot of things Trump
is doing that I am all about, and honestly, I
think more important than this particular thing he's doing.
Speaker 3 (01:03:48):
We don't really need the government to get involved in
the faith.
Speaker 6 (01:03:51):
Just give us the freedom to do this ourselves, which
which I think I do think Trump is for. Uh,
he's he may not be, you know, the show the
fruit of being a member of the church in any
real way. However, he's not an enemy of the church,
and I think he wants us to have the freedoms
that the Constitution affords us.
Speaker 3 (01:04:09):
That's good enough for me.
Speaker 6 (01:04:11):
If you were going to have a faith whatever, it's
called Paula White would not be my choice. I totally
disagree with that choice. That's a concerning choice. However, as
far as the impact on all the things that the
government needs to do, I think it's minor.
Speaker 3 (01:04:29):
But no, that would not have been my choice. And
we have talked about that.
Speaker 6 (01:04:32):
And he was saying also in here that Glenn Beck
has really gone all in calling her a false prophet
and whatever. And if I'm not mistaken, isn't Glenn a Mormon?
I don't know Glenn's We know each other as very
mild acquaintances. We're not dear friends. I do know that
Glenn's been on a faith journey. I have no idea
(01:04:55):
of the state of that right now. I do know
that we agree on more things than we do disagree on.
Speaker 1 (01:05:01):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (01:05:01):
But but I don't know that I would go as
far as false prophet. But but I will say that,
Uh well, I mean I don't I don't agree that
Paula White has sound theology.
Speaker 7 (01:05:12):
I agree I do agree with that. So and we
did talk about that.
Speaker 6 (01:05:16):
Uh okay, so that that would not have been I
kind of wish Trump would run that one by but
but but he did.
Speaker 9 (01:05:23):
Uh emailed you Hey bird, he bird, I'm thinking about
paul Birch.
Speaker 7 (01:05:27):
What do you think about Paula White?
Speaker 1 (01:05:29):
No, that's a no.
Speaker 7 (01:05:30):
That's a no.
Speaker 3 (01:05:30):
No thinking about that? And what dam was that her.
Speaker 6 (01:05:35):
Husband Play's Journey, by the.
Speaker 8 (01:05:39):
Way, does have a saddle. If it's your birthday, they'll
bring out a saddle.
Speaker 1 (01:05:43):
You can. Goodness, Okay, I didn't know about all that.
Speaker 8 (01:05:45):
It looks normal for kids to do it doesn't look
as normal for like middle aged women to do it.
Speaker 3 (01:05:48):
But it's fine, right, and shit on saddle and give
you up.
Speaker 1 (01:05:51):
Not sure I want mama on that.
Speaker 6 (01:05:52):
No, you president problem, Thank you man of a thousand
voices from Robin. Hey guys, hey bird a bird. I
was hoping that y'all could do me a huge favor.
On Monday, February the twenty fourth, it will be me
and my husband Tony's twenty six wedding anniversary.
Speaker 3 (01:06:11):
Awesome. We have had a very happy.
Speaker 6 (01:06:13):
Marriage and have an amazing son who attends Auburn University.
Speaker 1 (01:06:18):
I thought you said he's amazing.
Speaker 7 (01:06:21):
Hey, But anyway, I just a little bit humor there.
Speaker 6 (01:06:24):
I was hoping you could give us a happy anniversary
shout out. Tried to get a shout out last year
for our twenty fifth anniversary on the last year of
the Rick and Bubbas Show. But I knew that y'all
were overwhelmed. How about that didn't even bother us with
us so we had too much going on. But the
first year of the Rick Burgers Show, this would be
a great way to get things started with our anniversary
shout out if possible, If not, I get it, But
(01:06:47):
it would make our anniversary even more special. And it
would be an awesome surprise to have Greg Greg Burgess
Oh do a big reverse spin oh boy on the
wheel for me and my hubby. And he said, for
me to tell you guys, just how will it is
to me? Would mean so much if you can I understand.
(01:07:11):
I just appreciate having the anniversary shout out, love the
new show. So thankful to listen to you all and
what you do. Been fans of the Rick and Bubba
Show and now I'm a fan of the Rick Burgess Show.
And thank you for all the you guys do it,
especially here again spreading the good news. May God bless
all of you. And that's from Robin and her number
(01:07:31):
is here. Oh and I say we go to break
and we come back and we call Robin and we
let her come on the phone and Greg is going
to do a reverse spind reverse for her and her husband.
For there was twenty six anniversary. That's right, twenty sixth anniversary.
What's the husband's name again?
Speaker 7 (01:07:47):
All right? Let me, let me got my writers on
first line, me and my husband.
Speaker 3 (01:07:55):
Wow, Ray, I thought it was the first line.
Speaker 4 (01:07:57):
That's not.
Speaker 1 (01:07:57):
Don't give you the wrong to give me say Robin.
Speaker 4 (01:08:01):
Maybe they're both named Robin.
Speaker 7 (01:08:02):
Maybe she was.
Speaker 3 (01:08:03):
Then my husband didn't say as she did.
Speaker 1 (01:08:05):
She did.
Speaker 3 (01:08:05):
She never said her husband's name.
Speaker 5 (01:08:07):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the man who taught
(01:08:29):
the world to say, couldn't care less, Rick Burchase.
Speaker 6 (01:08:35):
All right, we're back, Thank you for being with us.
We wrapped up Hey burd Hey Burge today looking at
a number of emails, but also listening to really some
well done runs at a new theme song. Good work
by all of you out there on the text line.
Speaker 3 (01:08:51):
Right now. How about this, here's somebody saying, Hey Birge.
Speaker 6 (01:08:55):
The triplets are twenty seven years old today, Meredith to
Jacob and Courtony. They were raised on Rick and Bubba
and now listening to the Rick Birders Show.
Speaker 1 (01:09:04):
Also, how about that?
Speaker 10 (01:09:08):
All right?
Speaker 6 (01:09:09):
So we have Robin on the phone speed he has
done his job. Found Robin, even though she had a
little topo there on her phone number, it's fine and
her husband's name is Tony. Yep, couldn't find it. But
as soon as we went to break to twenty six.
So happy anniversary Robin to you and Tony today. Happy anniversary. Hello, hey, Robin,
(01:09:31):
Happy anniversary.
Speaker 11 (01:09:32):
Hi, thank you so much.
Speaker 22 (01:09:34):
I'm so excited.
Speaker 7 (01:09:35):
I'm excited that y'all read my letter to give me
a shout out.
Speaker 23 (01:09:40):
But I mean even more excited that you're going to
take that extra step and make your account.
Speaker 5 (01:09:45):
It go crazy.
Speaker 24 (01:09:45):
Well, I mean, I just love it.
Speaker 6 (01:09:47):
Well, look let me tell you, hey, bird hey birds,
you never know what will happen. I mean, and on
a special anniversary, and you couldn't get it done last
year and the last year of the Rick and Bubba Show.
So there was just so much in there here that
we said, you know, we're we're into making dreams come true.
And so where's Tony? Is Tony around? Are already going
to work?
Speaker 13 (01:10:07):
He is?
Speaker 25 (01:10:08):
He's right here, He's right here, He's he's here.
Speaker 7 (01:10:12):
Do you mind oh no, mine, hold on, okay, hey Tony, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:10:21):
Tony you sound are you tired?
Speaker 25 (01:10:26):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (01:10:27):
Yeah, Monday.
Speaker 1 (01:10:33):
He woke and you won't grig to do a reverse spin?
Speaker 3 (01:10:38):
Right?
Speaker 2 (01:10:38):
I did?
Speaker 17 (01:10:39):
Yes?
Speaker 13 (01:10:40):
He is, well to me, there he.
Speaker 1 (01:10:46):
Goes, there he goes.
Speaker 3 (01:10:50):
He gets spun it.
Speaker 1 (01:10:51):
It's been spun. He doesn't spun that.
Speaker 7 (01:10:55):
Here we go.
Speaker 6 (01:10:56):
Let's see what happens for Robin and Tony on their
twenty sixth anniversary.
Speaker 7 (01:11:00):
Oh no, oh no, no.
Speaker 1 (01:11:05):
Oh no, what to do? No no, well, let me
just say this, Robin Tony is it's a right here.
Speaker 3 (01:11:15):
It's Beth Mowens. Beth Mwens.
Speaker 1 (01:11:17):
I heard her yesterday, coming to you alive from the
softball ahling inside twenty six years, twenty six years for
Robin and Tony, twenty six years. Somebody needs to get
a time out. So sorry, you landed on best moment.
You're sorry.
Speaker 4 (01:11:37):
You know that's something because I heard her.
Speaker 18 (01:11:40):
We were at my son's dorm yesterday, he's an Auburn student.
Speaker 6 (01:11:43):
And we were going up the elevator and had the
LA TV playing on the basketball game I think it
was or something, and I heard her, Oh my gosh, was.
Speaker 1 (01:11:52):
She doing the lady Tigers. Was she on the Ladies Tigers?
Speaker 4 (01:11:56):
She was doing something. I just got on the elevator
really quickly because I thought, that's.
Speaker 3 (01:12:01):
Try to.
Speaker 1 (01:12:03):
String music they call it down here in the South.
Speaker 3 (01:12:09):
Isn't with that?
Speaker 1 (01:12:10):
You know what?
Speaker 4 (01:12:10):
It's an honor that y'all called me.
Speaker 22 (01:12:13):
Happy anniversary, Happy.
Speaker 1 (01:12:16):
Anniversary, baby. I hope Tony. I hope he looks as
good as one.
Speaker 3 (01:12:22):
Speedy mama, Like, wow, this is this is the first
time for the wheel. Thank you, Robin, Thank you, Tony.
Happy anniversary. Go back to slate, Tony.
Speaker 1 (01:12:34):
Thank you so much. Thank you.
Speaker 16 (01:12:36):
Y'all have a good day.
Speaker 7 (01:12:39):
Okay, I won't go for the.
Speaker 4 (01:12:45):
Y'all.
Speaker 3 (01:12:45):
Maybe on anniversaries we need to put on the will
John Thomas, Yeah, it is someone's anniversary, Hello John Thomas.
I hope Robin and Tony have a wonderful day, and
I hope Oath provide for one another. Okay.
Speaker 9 (01:13:07):
Like somebody said that Beth was doing the Kentucky l
s U game yesterday.
Speaker 7 (01:13:10):
I don't know that.
Speaker 1 (01:13:10):
That's just what is it basketball she was doing? She
was doing softball.
Speaker 10 (01:13:14):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:13:16):
I don't guess it was basketball. I don't know.
Speaker 7 (01:13:18):
I think she does basketball.
Speaker 3 (01:13:20):
Look at me.
Speaker 7 (01:13:20):
I don't.
Speaker 3 (01:13:23):
Would you scratch your chin?
Speaker 1 (01:13:26):
I'm not sure?
Speaker 7 (01:13:27):
Some reason I think she does.
Speaker 9 (01:13:29):
So she almost wants some merchandise orbscription. She was nowhere
near the money. Yeah, but it is odd that a
reverse spin ended up on Beth moments.
Speaker 17 (01:13:42):
A little reversal.
Speaker 1 (01:13:44):
Me and Stormy ready to go. Send it down to
Calvin Speedy Wilburn down there in the South stream music
like speedy Mama.
Speaker 9 (01:13:53):
Like no now, Ryan, but she she does a good
job for when it's softball.
Speaker 1 (01:14:00):
Who said that?
Speaker 3 (01:14:01):
Ryan Garry her wheelhouse there, she's okay there.
Speaker 1 (01:14:05):
Ryan Greenwood likes mama conn to softball.
Speaker 3 (01:14:08):
Okay, it was women's basketball.
Speaker 2 (01:14:11):
Okay, Smith on.
Speaker 3 (01:14:13):
Silva, chance here for plage on the movie.
Speaker 1 (01:14:16):
Smith on Silva, a chance for a big move. Passes
it over to Silva. Big move. There's a shot that's
a three count it.
Speaker 7 (01:14:34):
On music.
Speaker 26 (01:14:37):
She kind of got there, and so she gets a
three oh counted string music that call it down here
in the South.
Speaker 1 (01:14:44):
Here's a swish switch.
Speaker 4 (01:14:46):
Thing's got a little thing's got a little chippy. Here's
a oh quick clip.
Speaker 3 (01:14:51):
Okay, I got a whistle and a scrum underneath whistle.
Speaker 1 (01:15:00):
We got a little whist on a scrum underneath.
Speaker 26 (01:15:02):
Get a little chippy little power push, a little power
push scrum, You mean a power push a scrum, kippy, chippy,
Adler says, chippy.
Speaker 6 (01:15:15):
This is the wheel's fault. Not not okay, it's not
the look she they spun first time.
Speaker 7 (01:15:19):
I was landing on her.
Speaker 1 (01:15:20):
Yeah, she is up there, looks. That's when you met
her right there, possible, That's when I had my picture
made with Calvin.
Speaker 3 (01:15:26):
She was so sweet. Wow, you were sweet. She went
above and beyond. She was getting ready for the game,
came out of the boo, came out of the booth.
Speaker 1 (01:15:34):
I tell you what was sweet? Was your shiny head?
Speaker 3 (01:15:37):
Okay, I was sweet.
Speaker 1 (01:15:39):
Lsu one, I was nearly blinded by the light.
Speaker 3 (01:15:43):
She didn't say stuff like this football not helping baby
brother care.
Speaker 4 (01:15:48):
L Su won six the.
Speaker 2 (01:15:51):
Tigers.
Speaker 26 (01:15:52):
L s.
Speaker 1 (01:15:53):
You won it after a scrum underneath three counted twish
string me if they call it down here in the South,
I haven't seen anything that beautiful. Shots and Speedy's head.
Speaker 7 (01:16:08):
So you think about my picture, how it's blinded by
the light speed.
Speaker 3 (01:16:12):
I hope you can't. Hope you can't find it, You've
lost it.
Speaker 4 (01:16:17):
Speedy, hugging best moments. Okay, it came on.
Speaker 1 (01:16:23):
There we are together, blinded, look at it, look at
that head.
Speaker 9 (01:16:26):
So I'm like yeah, and I was nervous.
Speaker 1 (01:16:36):
Thankful, I have my jean jacket ready to go on
that one.
Speaker 7 (01:16:41):
Stone rock.
Speaker 1 (01:16:44):
Rocking Mama rocking Little Born in the USA Springsteak.
Speaker 3 (01:16:49):
Some of the hours will come back. So thankful this
bad music that you are.
Speaker 6 (01:16:55):
We'll talk about the boys on the road over the weekend,
all that.
Speaker 7 (01:16:58):
Coming up running for this.
Speaker 5 (01:17:02):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 1 (01:17:16):
You better listen up, you know I we say, ass,
I'm in an you gotta find.
Speaker 5 (01:17:30):
Broadcasting from the real world, The Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 6 (01:17:35):
All right, here we go, Thanks for being with us.
From the real world. We go through another hour. If
you missed the first couple of hours, catch those on
the daily podcast our YouTube channel on your own time.
The game's all here, Speedy Dragon Adler, and we've covered
a lot prior to you being with us, but Mischione,
a lot more to go, a lot more to go, everybody,
(01:18:00):
all right, So so now we're going to look back
over the weekend as we start this hour. So Adler
was not able to uh to head off to Panama City,
Florida with us too for the second Man Church conference.
Speaker 1 (01:18:17):
He was there in Birmingham.
Speaker 6 (01:18:18):
He may be able to pull off being there for
part of Atlanta this weekend. Remember, fellas, if you have
not attended or you just want to attend another one,
this will be the last Man Church conference of the year.
Speaker 1 (01:18:30):
Now, are there many.
Speaker 6 (01:18:31):
Churches that are doing Man Church you know events that
feature you know, one of our single speakers. Sure, there's
still some more of those with individual individual churches. But
as far as a weekend conference that for the Man Church,
this is our final one.
Speaker 2 (01:18:47):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (01:18:48):
And this weekend will be in Atlanta, and we'll have
Jeff Struker, Scott Dawson, Landon Dowden, Andy Blanks, and I
will speak Chuck Hooton doing worships. So we're looking forward
to all heading that way again. But this one, so uh,
we have bones was sick so he could not go,
(01:19:09):
and and that came back to haunt us a little
bit because as and I need and this is on me,
it is because Speedy, what I'm trying to do for
you and Greg and Adler is that I really understand
that adding this to you, the schedules that we have here.
Is is tough, you know, these these fridays, especially this
(01:19:31):
past one.
Speaker 7 (01:19:32):
That's a long day.
Speaker 6 (01:19:36):
It's a long long y'all. Hey, y'all were all and
me too, looking a little rough towards the end of the
nighthawst And of course because you do not think that
Wingo's gonna get away what he did, because he's not. Okay,
all right, so and we'll get and we'll get to that.
But anyway, so it was a great weekend. H Dean
and Sarah ted trailer Rich Wingo, Andy blanks Man, what
(01:20:00):
an honor. Like I said at the end of the conference,
I said, Andy blanks is such a brilliant man and
what he does with the curriculum and all of that,
he is incredible, great teacher, less Bradford, I mean, the
point man that runs these conferences. Nobody does it better.
But where Andy showed a lot of wisdom is that
(01:20:22):
Andy speaks first. I remember thinking he was doing that
sacrificially until I realized that nobody wants to follow these
other people.
Speaker 7 (01:20:29):
These guys are outstanding.
Speaker 3 (01:20:31):
No one wants to be the d weeve that walks
up there after these guys have done their messages.
Speaker 7 (01:20:37):
But anyway, I'm.
Speaker 9 (01:20:38):
In and out with my conversations with Andy, so neither
one of us get uncomfortable because we.
Speaker 3 (01:20:42):
Both because you both struggle so much with second that.
Speaker 9 (01:20:45):
But I was, you know, now that we've had two
of the three, I said, he does a really good
job of getting out in front. He's got the first leg,
and when he comes back around to hand it off,
he's so far ahead that everybody kind of gets it going.
And he does such a good job with that. And
then I quickly stopped the conversation and went off, Yeah,
(01:21:05):
so he didn't get come he's doing.
Speaker 6 (01:21:08):
He's doing a message that I've never heard him do
in Birmingham and in Panama City, and and it's solid,
it's outstanding.
Speaker 9 (01:21:14):
Yeah, it really hits, and it gets everybody's attention and
here we go.
Speaker 6 (01:21:18):
But everybody was great, and the praise and worship was
great as always with Chuck Hooton and the gang.
Speaker 1 (01:21:24):
And they found the right venue, which was a big plus.
Speaker 6 (01:21:26):
But but what what happened is, and you know, this
is just us pulling the curtain back. There's been there's
been an accusation from from my wife that that I
have become handler dependent.
Speaker 7 (01:21:41):
Uh, and she.
Speaker 3 (01:21:42):
Said, she said, it's almost like you you if you
don't have speedy or you don't have bones. It's and
she reminds me, and she's right that she's my wife,
not a handler. And she is one hundred percent correct
on that. And I've made that crystal clear. But uh,
I did announce though I was ready to step in need.
But what we do is speed.
Speaker 6 (01:22:00):
He has so much to deal with running the show
that I didn't want him to have to take that
same responsibility into Team man Church.
Speaker 3 (01:22:10):
That's bones. Bones is the handler.
Speaker 6 (01:22:13):
There of the speakers and and you know, and I
didn't think I really needed that much and travel and
all that, and he got all that handled, but he
wasn't with us. Varvuodis joins the group, you know, uh.
And of course the fear you have with varvuodis, who's
the big man in the middle. If you're looking right now,
the fear you have with Varvudis is that at any moment
he could take you down with a double leg takedown.
Speaker 7 (01:22:34):
It couldn't take a lot for him to go to that. Yeah, yeah,
ad Er, this is your world. You know.
Speaker 6 (01:22:38):
He does the Brazilian jiu jitsu too, and It's almost
like every time we pick back up and say Varvoodis,
what's been going on? He's taking somebody down with a
double leg takedown. Again, I mean greets people like out
in life, like he had taken down some guy at
the emergency room with a double leg takedown that showed
up drunk and causing trouble and was beating up security
and dog gone at Varvooteris that had taken out.
Speaker 3 (01:23:01):
Yeah, and so but anyway did him tell it? It's
pretty funny because he says it's so casual, Like I said,
I have to drive through before I got here.
Speaker 6 (01:23:09):
A man, you've had a lot going on. Well, I
mean I had a lootle issue at the mercher room.
I have to take somebody now with the double legg
take Now.
Speaker 12 (01:23:14):
What're just telling the story of the confrontation and then also,
of course then I take him down with the double leg.
Speaker 7 (01:23:21):
Yeah, just like we were just telling the story about.
Speaker 1 (01:23:23):
You had a confrontation.
Speaker 3 (01:23:25):
So I'm glad, he wrote shotgun. I don't know if
we'd ever made it anywhere.
Speaker 7 (01:23:28):
Right, So you're right, So thank you.
Speaker 6 (01:23:32):
So you have you have Wingo, you have Brody who
went this he his company is doing all the video videography.
We need capturing stuff for promotions for next year of
our Buddhist he he takes. If you come up to
the resource table, I want to just talk about the curriculum.
Speaker 7 (01:23:48):
Not not the books.
Speaker 6 (01:23:49):
That are available, not the shirts and the hats, but
you want to know about the strategy. How does the
curriculum work. How do I get these forty week curriculum?
And that's what he handles that I don't know what
I do. And then there's you, uh, and of course everybody.
You got tons of people saying, while Gary's lost weight,
and I love that hoodie he's got. And then I
(01:24:10):
don't know who this rube is. It walked up here
on the end there was already sleeping. Yes, I've never
seen Greg be sleepy so early.
Speaker 7 (01:24:18):
I know so, and I didn't.
Speaker 3 (01:24:22):
He looks so sleepy my eyes hurt, right.
Speaker 6 (01:24:26):
Right, and so right it was. So then there's always
you know, the whole process. And and I will say this,
a lot of you were wondering if we were going
to get the English pilot that you know, we used
this uh, this charter service, and we've used him for years,
even back with the Rick and Bubba Show and and
now ongoing and uh, they really are such a blessing
(01:24:49):
to to everything that we do. And so but we
did not get him. James was not there. But but
we had what we called the Twin Towers, uh tag team.
Speaker 7 (01:24:59):
Yeah, you eat.
Speaker 3 (01:25:00):
Right, And so it's like the Pols security. Yeah, yeah
it was. It was Chuck and uh Jay, Yeah, I
think so think I think so.
Speaker 7 (01:25:11):
I don't know how they fit in the can. I
don't know.
Speaker 6 (01:25:12):
When you walk up and you see them, they're like
bigger than the plane and you're like, how do these
two even get in here? It's crazy and they're really
large men, and uh, but you feel good about it
because you've got pilots and a security team and when
you got bar Boodish, my goodness be taken down it.
So so we'll we'll come back and you know, this
is all real serious stuff, and I'm and we'll get
(01:25:34):
you some of the serious side. But even when we're
doing really serious things, goofy things, we just can't help it.
We can't, we cannot help it. Just fin and then
and I know any of you, if you've ever hung
out with a bunch of guys, nobody gets on each other. No,
the ribbing. The ribbing that happens from from the moment.
And I even told my son that, I said, now
(01:25:56):
you realize that, twenty three years old, you hanging out
and you know, he said, I thought this was so smart.
Speaker 1 (01:26:01):
And this party goes, what are you talking about? What
a blessing?
Speaker 6 (01:26:05):
He goes, you know, men my age, if they don't
have access to the type of men I do. And
to be immersed in the middle of these older men,
he said that.
Speaker 1 (01:26:14):
He said, that's fortunate.
Speaker 6 (01:26:16):
Well play, you're right. Well, of course I didn't realize
what he meant to make fun of us. I thought
he meant for wisdom, and you know what he said
on no, no, I'll just sit back and watched.
Speaker 7 (01:26:25):
He goes.
Speaker 3 (01:26:26):
The ribbing that takes place.
Speaker 1 (01:26:29):
If everybody gets you down.
Speaker 3 (01:26:31):
Yeah, and of course you know all this is a
nightmare for an overgreader. And we'll talk about that, oh boy,
when we come back. So more of the rick Burgers
show coming out right after this.
Speaker 5 (01:26:41):
This is the rick Burgers show. The man who removed
the phrase what's your new good from society?
Speaker 6 (01:27:01):
Weak booches and you're welcome, all right, So let's talk
about to buy Raycon dot Com slash Big Vox. Love love, love,
love this product, and love the number of people across
the audience that already have these that have responded. I mean,
one of the things is pretty simple. We call this
(01:27:23):
the speedy factor. Why would you pay more? Why would
you pay double for a product that is either equally
as good or actually you know, inferior to the Raycons.
I mean, the Raycons not only have a lot more options,
they look a lot cooler, they fit a lot better,
(01:27:45):
they sound great, Like I say, half the price, you
kidding me? And then we get you an additional twenty
percent off the entire site if you go to buy
Raycon dot Com slash Big Vox multipoint connectivity. Yes, we're
talking about the highest deckology, two devices at once. You guys,
I know have really raised about the thirty two hour
battery life and how easy it charges right back up quickly.
(01:28:08):
And of course you know they've got all the sound profiles.
You can do the awareness mode or you can go
noise isolation if you need to be concentrating. These are
outstanding products. They make incredible gifts and by Raycon dot
Com slash Big Vox right now an additional twenty percent off.
Speaker 3 (01:28:27):
Don't forget the thirty day happiness guarantee.
Speaker 6 (01:28:29):
I mean, you got to love them and if you don't,
then you get a full refund by Raycon dot Com
slash big Vox. They're also incredibly durable. We've had some
great stories Rick burgesshow dot com under the sponsors as well.
So off we go, and the plan was because of
everybody's schedule and all this, it's a long way to
(01:28:51):
the beach from where we are, in time constraints and
all that, we did decide that we would use the
charter service, which without it there'd be a lot of
things we couldn't do. And also it's kind of a man,
I just these guys. Everybody's got a long, long day,
and you know, our our day starts at for Greg
in the two ams, for the rest of us in
(01:29:13):
the three ams, and you know that Friday night, it's
not gonna stop till about ten thirty ten fifteen something
like that. So it's a very very long day, and
so we needed to get down there. We needed they
were gonna they were gonna feed the crew at four
local times, get into the hotel and then get ready.
Speaker 3 (01:29:32):
For the night.
Speaker 14 (01:29:34):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (01:29:34):
So we we arrive and it doesn't take long. It
doesn't take long because you know, we have a rental
car ready to go, and.
Speaker 7 (01:29:45):
Speedy, you you knew, you knew.
Speaker 3 (01:29:49):
You know.
Speaker 6 (01:29:49):
First of all, everybody's got to rag on everybody on
the plane down there. Everybody's got everybody's got to have
something to say about everybody's day with they have on
and we got yeah, and so we gregg and we
heard a double leg takedown story again.
Speaker 3 (01:30:02):
From barbodas sun every time, right Wingo as usual? Still
is it quite sure when he's speaking?
Speaker 6 (01:30:09):
And so anyway, so when so so when when we
we've been over that? But anyway, so uh so we
we uh we get down there and first of all,
we we I go to the car and Speedy, if
I recall, you did say, as you do you usually do,
would you like for me to just take over driving?
Speaker 10 (01:30:28):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:30:28):
I wouldn't sure.
Speaker 9 (01:30:29):
I was just like, hey, I'm here if needed, but
do you need me to drive? No, I'm really not,
and uh and and and used like no, I got it.
So then I look to Rich because definitely he needs
to be up front, because I mean, you know, I mean,
my goodness, Rich Wingo you used it up front.
Speaker 7 (01:30:46):
You don't sit in the back, right.
Speaker 3 (01:30:47):
He said, he's actually the eldest of the group.
Speaker 1 (01:30:50):
Right.
Speaker 9 (01:30:50):
But he looks at me and goes, I ain't getting
up there because he knew. He knew that if Bird
is driving, then he needs a copilot. And Andrew varvudis
very I mean, I think, just with a lot of bravery,
he said, I got it.
Speaker 7 (01:31:05):
We didn't start out very well.
Speaker 3 (01:31:06):
No, we didn't know.
Speaker 6 (01:31:09):
Varvoodis didn't exactly show himself the greatest co pilot. Not
only am I handler dependent because of my beautiful wife,
I'm co pilot dependent.
Speaker 1 (01:31:17):
And uh and.
Speaker 6 (01:31:18):
Soh Varvoodis right out of the gate, just so everybody knows,
if you ever land at the airport at Panama citydn't
they have a nice airport?
Speaker 3 (01:31:26):
Then?
Speaker 6 (01:31:26):
Yeah, keep in mind that there's a Hilton Garden inn
at the airport, which is less less.
Speaker 3 (01:31:32):
Than the mi all.
Speaker 6 (01:31:33):
Yeah, and then there's the one we're actually staying at,
and that's the one about thirty minutes into town.
Speaker 3 (01:31:40):
Yep.
Speaker 6 (01:31:40):
Okay, So Varvoodis and I put up Hilton Garden in
and of course I remembered in my mind, why was
I allowing us thirty minutes to get to the hotel
when it's right here.
Speaker 7 (01:31:52):
That was in my mind.
Speaker 6 (01:31:54):
And the reason why I was allowing thirty minutes is
because that's what I was told by team Man Church,
and that's actually where we're st eight. So putting in ways,
we put in the wrong hotel, and Ways keeps telling
us to do you turns because we're passing the hotel,
and we're like, how are we passing the hotel?
Speaker 3 (01:32:11):
And and and at one time there was a sheriff
that I think.
Speaker 6 (01:32:14):
Thought we were you know, if I just held out
a sign where Baptists were good, because it looked like
that that we were. We didn't know where we were going.
How many times? How many times do we circle right?
Speaker 1 (01:32:26):
Well?
Speaker 9 (01:32:26):
In defense to Andrew, I think he came in after
you punched in the address, so and so he said
go and then and then we do that and then
you know, I love you, right? I mean, but roundabouts
aren't that tough.
Speaker 3 (01:32:38):
I don't like.
Speaker 9 (01:32:41):
I mean, you'd rather sit at a red light and
just sit. Don't want don't want it.
Speaker 3 (01:32:45):
I'd rather be a four wasteop. When you approach a roundabout,
it's not hard. You don't have to start pumping brakes
and freaking out just going around, just go and just flow.
But if you weren't for Andrew, I think we might
have been circling just constantly.
Speaker 7 (01:32:58):
I don't like roundabouts. You complain about it way before
we got to that yeah about.
Speaker 3 (01:33:05):
Yeah, well, you know what, if y'all want to, if
y'all want to, if y'all want to embrace European trash,
embrace it.
Speaker 6 (01:33:11):
But for me, I live in America. Roll Trump, and
I'm gonna make America great again. And I want a
four way stop. I don't want this European roundabout garbage.
I made that clear. You have a red light or
a roundabout? Yeah, stop size what's wrong with the four
way stop? Because it must be too much traffic for
all that.
Speaker 3 (01:33:31):
Okay, I'll take a red light.
Speaker 9 (01:33:32):
Okay, Wow, So you'll sit there, not very long, for
two minutes, very long.
Speaker 3 (01:33:37):
I could turn right on red Okay.
Speaker 6 (01:33:39):
So so anyway, we go through that var boodhist then
now takes over. Yeah, we get to the hotel, and
of course, then of course the famous we all know
these days you walk in. Now, keep in mind, we've
got if everybody had gone, we had not didn't have
people drop off. We all were gonna have to room together,
but Bones got sick, and and uh and we and
(01:34:00):
Gary didn't go. Hey, I just I ain't going, And
so he never got there. By the way, some people
were asking them on the text, he didn't. So what
we have now I gave, I gave young, brought young
Broadrick got his own room because he's got all the
camera gear. Okay, nobody wanted a room with our voodhas
so in fear of a double.
Speaker 3 (01:34:18):
A take take you down, so you might go to roll.
Speaker 6 (01:34:21):
But the bottom line is greg and Speedy are rooming,
and Wingo and I are rooming. And I walk up
and the nice, very kind person behind the counter said,
I'm sorry. I mean all we got is kings. All
y'all got King beds. I said, no, you're incorrect, No, no, no,
we don't have king beds.
Speaker 1 (01:34:38):
And she goes.
Speaker 7 (01:34:38):
She was pretty confident, she was.
Speaker 6 (01:34:40):
And then and then Rick Gregor's I don't touch my
toes and of course I have no I have no
handler with me and I didn't give Speed the information.
So everybody spend on Megga and so I but I
thought kind of in a shocker, I think people would
have lost money if they'd wagered. I actually had everything
that Les had sent me, who runs the comp erence,
and I had all of our confirmation numbers, and I said,
(01:35:03):
this clearly says two double beds in every room. And
something happened with the computer. Then all of a sudden,
She's like, because we all start thinking.
Speaker 7 (01:35:11):
At first, she Elsea said they weren't ready yet.
Speaker 1 (01:35:12):
They weren't ready.
Speaker 9 (01:35:13):
Because we were technically we were about forty five minutes
before the officials.
Speaker 3 (01:35:16):
See, I was toe check in was three. I found
out check in was four.
Speaker 1 (01:35:21):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (01:35:21):
And so at that point I realized, well, then if
we can't check in, that's just on us, it's not
on them, and.
Speaker 7 (01:35:27):
Uh and it would have hurt.
Speaker 6 (01:35:29):
But I looked at that ragged bunch, and I think
I think the ragged bunch had at one point I
saw in everybody's eyes who had room and roomies whatever. Man,
just get us to a room, that's all we need.
I start telling Wingo, Now I like to sleep on
the left side. Just show you though, now.
Speaker 3 (01:35:48):
When you handed the nice lady of your phone and
said see look, look that that was very.
Speaker 5 (01:35:54):
I thought, I said, this is the rick Burgess Show,
the man who has never been fashionably late to anything.
Speaker 6 (01:36:16):
By the way, I want to commend the team everybody.
Everybody made it to the airport on time.
Speaker 7 (01:36:23):
Thank you.
Speaker 6 (01:36:25):
Everybody was ready to go. And so we're there and
we run into a bit of a pause. We're all
really tired, really really want to get to our room,
get our stuff there, then head over to the conference.
And so I thought, speedy, you be honest with me.
I thought I handled the minor confusion about the rooms,
(01:36:49):
got it solidified, started to hand it out, tickets to everybody,
keys to everybody. They did discover it was their error.
They did find our rooms. Every body's room was ready.
The pilots theirs weren't. But there, you know, the pilots
there there is I mean, they just roll, They just.
Speaker 1 (01:37:07):
Roll with the punches.
Speaker 7 (01:37:09):
We got this, Well, just give us stain.
Speaker 3 (01:37:11):
Come on, just where y'all go.
Speaker 9 (01:37:12):
They either say they got this or they just don't
want to be in the same car as you when
you drive. I couldn't tell which one it was. Yeah,
I couldn't tell. If they just said, hey, let's.
Speaker 7 (01:37:20):
Get our own car. He's driving, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:37:22):
I couldn't tell. Yeah, So it's amazing.
Speaker 6 (01:37:24):
I found the hotel after, you know, since I literally
had five people tell me how to drive. It was,
including a few chimes from my son. Don't know where
they came from. He got caught up in that influence
sitting with Uncle Greg too.
Speaker 3 (01:37:38):
Yeah, de sober, Uncle Greg's right, that's exactly what I
didn't want. That's exactly what I didn't want. I tried
so hard to sit him next to Wingo.
Speaker 7 (01:37:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:37:46):
But anyway, so we uh, we do get to our room.
We do, we do, and and there was a little
bit of confusion checking in. But I thought you did
you really did. You hadn't get elevated. No, I did not.
That's not true. I read it, do your job at
something like that.
Speaker 4 (01:38:02):
No, I did job.
Speaker 1 (01:38:03):
You must not know about me. We're here to tell
me about Jesus. Hurry out.
Speaker 6 (01:38:08):
But anyway, so, uh, but but then we started seeing
men in the lobby that were there for the conference.
Speaker 7 (01:38:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:38:13):
I got to that, observed, how you handle that too?
Speaker 12 (01:38:16):
That watch everybody's always watching. A few that speedy assumed
at the conference probably weren't.
Speaker 6 (01:38:20):
He just agreed, right, And that's when we first started
realizing this was gonna be an over greeterers.
Speaker 7 (01:38:24):
Nightmare.
Speaker 12 (01:38:24):
Oh, I we got a new element that I never
even thought about till I experienced.
Speaker 3 (01:38:29):
All right, so we're all headed to our rooms, and
what did you experience? Grim?
Speaker 7 (01:38:33):
So we get on the elevator. Now we're in the room.
Uh going from one to level four?
Speaker 3 (01:38:37):
Boy a slow elevator, Yeah, only one and one one
elevator broke, so we were down to one elevator.
Speaker 6 (01:38:42):
So I didn't even complain about that. So we was
really more upset about the roundabout than anything.
Speaker 7 (01:38:45):
We go up one floor. It opens. Now people are
in there with us.
Speaker 3 (01:38:49):
Oh, they're getting in the elevator with you.
Speaker 12 (01:38:51):
Yes, And as we're going I can see him. You know,
I'm not saying nothing to them, you know what I mean.
Speaker 7 (01:38:56):
Shocker. I don't know shocker.
Speaker 12 (01:38:58):
So I mean if they engage me like this, and
here Ricky's like, he's like, you're holding a dog back
and that's like if we.
Speaker 7 (01:39:03):
Don't got to say, he's gonna he's gonna speak to
everybody and he can't help it. He can't help he's
holding back and I'll be dogging he don't stop. On
the next floor. That was it?
Speaker 1 (01:39:11):
Well, what are you all here for? What's going?
Speaker 3 (01:39:16):
And there was a that was the next day on
the way down. It was a female wrestling team. Yeah,
and he was and had wrestling under all the shirt.
What are y'all doing here wrestling me? I don't know
if I asked it like that, But what was funny
is watching him. If we'd had, if we went straight
up and got out, he'd have been fine. But when
it stopped for that same you couldn't take it, could you,
(01:39:36):
Looking like he wants to ask so bad. Well, it's awful,
it's awful to sit and it's just so it's so awkwarl.
Speaker 7 (01:39:43):
Y'all got going?
Speaker 1 (01:39:44):
What are y'all doing here?
Speaker 3 (01:39:45):
Getting in.
Speaker 10 (01:39:47):
Now?
Speaker 9 (01:39:47):
It's a lot better if like somebody comes in and
they're already in conversation, you can kind of just sit
there and.
Speaker 1 (01:39:52):
Hide just quiet.
Speaker 3 (01:39:53):
But when everybody is just real quiet and everybody's just
looking straight ahead, it was d I'd rather I'd rather
go run a mile.
Speaker 7 (01:40:01):
Or this close to it.
Speaker 3 (01:40:03):
It's just awful, and you know how opposite is a track.
Speaker 9 (01:40:05):
I think that's why we're good travel partners, because he
couldn't care less, you know, And it's disgusted by anybody
even being in there and and I'm just I'm just
so uncomfortable because he wanted.
Speaker 7 (01:40:17):
To engage everyone.
Speaker 1 (01:40:18):
I know, everybody there is just feeling.
Speaker 3 (01:40:20):
Awkward saying Greg, here's Greg's perfect conference.
Speaker 7 (01:40:26):
No one's at the hotel, no one's at the event.
Yeah perfect.
Speaker 16 (01:40:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:40:30):
He sits in the back, and you.
Speaker 1 (01:40:32):
Know, Rose figures out many want to see it.
Speaker 9 (01:40:35):
We balance each other out because he'll tap me on
the leg like a calm down, and then I'll tap
him on the leg and go, hey, you need to give.
Speaker 1 (01:40:42):
A little bit.
Speaker 3 (01:40:42):
That's true, you know, and I'm wanting to get worn
out of it.
Speaker 7 (01:40:44):
He pulled me in after he started greeting a dog.
If he didn't get me in.
Speaker 3 (01:40:48):
Before you know it, he's in a conversation about the
indoor pool.
Speaker 7 (01:40:50):
You know. I was talking to Greg earlier.
Speaker 1 (01:40:53):
Thank you.
Speaker 4 (01:40:55):
Well.
Speaker 3 (01:40:55):
There were times I would constantly have to introduce him
as Greg because he just stand there, didn't like look
at him.
Speaker 6 (01:41:00):
So I told I told everybody, this is Greg watching
him home backs. So I told everybody lobby, lobby at
three forty five, lobby at three forty five. Now my
son was going to try to pull one on me
that turned out to bite him. Later, Yeah, so no offense.
One of my best friends in the whole world, Rich Wingo,
(01:41:23):
great man, he was, he runs lay a little bit,
and and so he was the guy I I looked
that and I said, look, I can't be the guy
that's that's not in the lobby on time, okay and
uh And he said what I said, We need to
be moving. I said that we only got one elevator.
It's gonna take a little longer. He goes, you need help.
He goes, you know, he's the one who's claimed im
O c D. He goes, you need to seek some
(01:41:43):
sort of head.
Speaker 1 (01:41:44):
You know.
Speaker 6 (01:41:45):
Wingo was the one that saw where the trash bags
were and that I moved him back up vert our
level at camp house. You need help, I said, Can
I say it's been on time, that's normal, that's not
something needs help?
Speaker 7 (01:41:56):
And so exactly what we should on.
Speaker 6 (01:41:58):
So before I could even move to the lobby, and
I was only it was only one minute, one minute
that we had left, and we were going to be
maybe a minute over.
Speaker 3 (01:42:07):
As I get the text from from from young Brobert
and the lobby can't believe or beat you.
Speaker 6 (01:42:12):
Hey, we're down here, ready to go, Dad, and I thought, okay,
all right, okay, but that would come back to body.
It would that would come back to body. That's why
you got to be careful. So we get to right,
we get to the venue. Everybody, everybody and their brother
was telling me where to park and how to park,
which I appreciated all the help that got part before.
Speaker 3 (01:42:32):
Well, you'll be in decisive.
Speaker 7 (01:42:33):
Well you had a weird spot. It worked out, but
I didn't.
Speaker 1 (01:42:35):
Think it was weird spot. I don't know that.
Speaker 3 (01:42:37):
It was about walk right across right an Yeah, but
I don't think that's a legal parking. Yeah, that's why
it was available.
Speaker 7 (01:42:42):
We mean legal.
Speaker 6 (01:42:44):
You probably deserved the ticket. So anyways, so weak to
be honest, we walk in. Now one thing I had
forgotten and I'm just going to own this. And when
you think about a men's conference, that's goal is for
men to repent and follow Jesus, it's a little, just
(01:43:04):
a little bit, you really, even though full redemption has
been achieved by both of us, there was just something
about being in Panama City and your college roommate is
coming to the event.
Speaker 1 (01:43:18):
It just feels weird.
Speaker 6 (01:43:19):
It's like, you did, do I really want this guy
to come into this group tolding stories from the eighties.
Speaker 7 (01:43:25):
Do you really want that?
Speaker 3 (01:43:28):
Of course?
Speaker 6 (01:43:28):
Now, Stax, as he's lovingly known, does not come into
anything quietly. If God said, what are we doing next,
and the angel said, why don't you try to make
a noseguard for this football thing that'll come out later,
he would make Greg Stewart. If you see Greg Stewart,
Hay Stacks, Stacks, he has many, has many nicknames, but
(01:43:50):
the minute you lay eyes on him, you would say,
even if you don't know anything about football, I bet
he plays a nose guard. He looks like an ose guard.
He's built like an ose guard. He's lived his life
walking around as a giant knows guard. Okay, and he
looks exactly what you think. He's coached for what forty
something years?
Speaker 7 (01:44:08):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (01:44:09):
Uh and knows everybody knows everybody. Everybody loves Stacks. Oh yeah,
And and he and people there recognized. Now, if you
think that there's a person, if you think in your life,
is there anybody that could be more annoyed by people than.
Speaker 1 (01:44:23):
Greg, it's.
Speaker 6 (01:44:26):
League Stack is Stax is annoyed by anything that's remotely inconvenient. Uh,
and and doesn't really care to meet new people and
new friends in the right and never and so I
forgot about him, and of course for some reason, and
we don't know why. We've always we've always talked about
this Greg. How did that happen? How did he end
(01:44:47):
up nicknaming me jiggy?
Speaker 7 (01:44:49):
I don't know that's what he called you.
Speaker 27 (01:44:50):
That I have idea all of a sudden getting it
goes back to some st I think it was like,
I don't know how he but he does, you know,
And and I remember the time we were at practice
and we're staring each other's thousand degrees.
Speaker 7 (01:45:05):
He goes, what's up jiggle it?
Speaker 6 (01:45:07):
And I was like what, and then there's he has
all kind of plays off jig and so I don't
know where that came from.
Speaker 3 (01:45:16):
But anyway, so I text outside, you can't get in?
Speaker 1 (01:45:20):
Yeah it.
Speaker 6 (01:45:23):
I was like, you have a pass at will Call,
can't get to will call doors lock come get me.
And I'm like, but I mean, we're like in a
meeting about whatever. Doors lock can't get in, and I'm
just like, somebody please who went to get him?
Speaker 7 (01:45:38):
Somehow?
Speaker 6 (01:45:39):
He was early right, of course he was you know,
doors aren't open, because that's not when they opened, but
did you. Yeah, but he was coming to eat with us,
which I told him that's fine and whatever. And for
some reason, I don't know why, he said I was
gonna feel bad later, but he never told me. First
thing I see as well, So you were in Arizona,
Arizona Cardinals.
Speaker 1 (01:45:57):
I was shirt.
Speaker 3 (01:45:59):
I was curious about connection. Do you have to the
Arizona Cardinals. He goes, sit there you go again. You
can feel bad when to tell you.
Speaker 6 (01:46:04):
But anyway, but he never did, so I don't know
if it's some Arizona cardinal that maybe died of amout like.
Speaker 3 (01:46:14):
Memory.
Speaker 6 (01:46:15):
There you go again, so you jump out there, but
you can feel bad when I tell you, but he
never did tell me, so I.
Speaker 7 (01:46:20):
Don't know what it was.
Speaker 6 (01:46:21):
And then you find yourself because you have people that
only know the redeemed you, you don't really want them
around the people who knew you unredeemed, and you kind
of now I can't and I'm now nervous about everything
because I'm watching where he's going and who's engaging. At
one point I look at he's got Wingo over in
the corner and I said, well, this is going south,
you know, And uh, and wing.
Speaker 7 (01:46:40):
Look of course he better not say that.
Speaker 11 (01:46:42):
No, all right, so we'll come back.
Speaker 3 (01:46:55):
Well, we'll talk more about the conference, how it all went.
Speaker 1 (01:47:01):
It was a lot of fun.
Speaker 6 (01:47:03):
And if you've been hearing these stories and thinking, man,
I want to go, there's only one more left, Atlanta
coming up this weekend.
Speaker 1 (01:47:09):
We'll all be there.
Speaker 5 (01:47:10):
This is the Rick Burgess show. They are the uncles
your parents warned you about the lacky Burgis show.
Speaker 3 (01:47:26):
We'll go anywhere where your uncle douts knowing about it.
Speaker 1 (01:47:29):
All right, we're bang.
Speaker 6 (01:47:30):
We're recapping the Panama City Manchurch Conference, us traveling on
the road, the gang altogether. I do want to make
a note. Yes, Atlanta is this weekend. Hebron Baptist Church
in the Cula some say Dakula the Cula, Georgia, but
if you don't forget. Also in Prattville, Alabama, we're here
(01:47:52):
us on I ninety two Wlwi Blake Prime from Team
Manchurch will actually be speaking at their next Man Church.
Speaker 3 (01:47:59):
It'll just be him, but it is their next gathering.
You can go to that too.
Speaker 6 (01:48:02):
Boone's Chapel Baptist Church, Prattville, Alabama, this Sunday night.
Speaker 1 (01:48:07):
Uh so that's coming up. I'm sorry.
Speaker 6 (01:48:08):
This Saturday night, March first, Uh, this Saturday night five thirty,
Blake Prime will be there for their next man church
on Saturday night in Prattville. All right, so we get
there to the church now, and you know, I need
to come up with some sort of spiritual oopa loopa?
Does ooploopa still work? Because now that my former you know,
(01:48:28):
roommate from college, Stacks is on the ground, It's like.
Speaker 3 (01:48:33):
I finally said, I said, hey man, man, it can you?
Hey ya, you believe we're here? I mean you and me,
you especially you're you know here.
Speaker 6 (01:48:43):
We are doing a men's conference in Panama City, Florida.
Speaker 7 (01:48:47):
Tell me Jesus doesn't change people.
Speaker 6 (01:48:49):
Okay, that is a valid point, and let's have a
moment together. But could you stop telling everybody that? All right,
let me tell you what I know. The rest of
you don't know. I know the power of Jesus by
to changing that guy right there. Okay, that's enough, you know,
it's it's like every person, Hey, hey, let me introduce
you to Ted Traylor, pastor at all. Let me tell
(01:49:11):
you something pastor, this guy right hey, we don't have
to do that with everybody. One statement about it. One statement,
that's right, and you know and and let me do
one time down de troit. No, but I mean Jesus
is changing. But let me tell you. I'll tell you
how he used to be. There's no need for that.
I'm just showing the power of Jesus.
Speaker 1 (01:49:29):
Jiggy, do you lock me outside? I didn't you got
here too early?
Speaker 7 (01:49:32):
Patience?
Speaker 3 (01:49:33):
Uh, mister patience. So the food, all the foods now.
Speaker 7 (01:49:37):
I want to report.
Speaker 3 (01:49:38):
I want to report to you.
Speaker 6 (01:49:41):
We all know that Speedy has a problem with sweets,
right do we.
Speaker 4 (01:49:45):
All know that once he goes in, he goes in.
Speaker 6 (01:49:48):
So first of all, thank you First Baptist Church, Panama
City for being such Your hospitality was outstanding. And and
the Man Church team, of course you're you guys are
just pros man.
Speaker 7 (01:50:01):
You get on the ground, you get it done.
Speaker 6 (01:50:04):
That was one of the things I talked to Dean
and Sarah who spoke who wrote Unsaved Christian. He was
one of those. And this is a credit to the
team because this is I don't have any role in
all this. They do all this. And he said, you know,
I knew about what y'all were doing. He said, I
just I think in his mind, he was picturing maybe
you know, there's nothing wrong with these, we do these,
(01:50:25):
but he was coming to something like a beast feast
or something like a little wild game deal or men's breakfast.
He says, this thing is a men's ministry machine. And
I was like, yeah, I said, this team is incredible.
I mean all the resources and putting everything up and
the wait it looks so if it was great.
Speaker 1 (01:50:42):
So I appreciated that.
Speaker 6 (01:50:43):
But so we're sitting there and and so they gave
us the men cooked for us fried fish. I think
there was some grouper in there. I think there might
have been some catfish in there. Hush puppy French fries
and the husky.
Speaker 7 (01:50:59):
You haled me at USh puppy?
Speaker 3 (01:51:00):
Man, did you did? Was that your menu? Because that
was everything you like?
Speaker 7 (01:51:05):
Yeah, it was well.
Speaker 6 (01:51:06):
I had had it when I had been just a
solo project for them before, and I said, man, that
was so good. You remember, I think I brought back
and show pictures of how much they were cooking for that.
Speaker 7 (01:51:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:51:15):
Yeah, And so that was the same guys that did
it again. The food was great. Well, I think, well
that's enough, And I tried to keep it to one plate, Sean.
I tried to keep it to one plate, and then
I had a little extra hush puppy plate and road
trip and of course once again, then I start with
my college room. I thought, you's trying to do better,
but then this is just here, man, How you doing it?
(01:51:36):
You can tell me about it. You've lost weight? How
you doing it? I'm like, well, I you know, try
to be eating this, No, this is different. Just see
you tell me you're too skinny. I'm I'm I'm doing
one plate, not multiple plates. So you get to play
the hushpubbies j.
Speaker 9 (01:51:50):
And I was like, I know, yeah, but anyway had
terrible influence to my left. So anyway regulate Yeah, especially
road Adler. Adler right there, when these two right here
top two and and and speedy with the problem with sweets, Adler,
I'm going to tell you something. I've seen them go
off the rails before. It was nothing like I saw
(01:52:12):
they made. They made Rich Wingo look like he don't
even like sweets.
Speaker 4 (01:52:15):
That's why your circle of friends is so important.
Speaker 7 (01:52:17):
With the cake there, then it was at the last one.
Speaker 3 (01:52:19):
Too, cinnamon cake.
Speaker 6 (01:52:21):
So what's their talk? Let me tell you, guys, let
me tell you what they're talking about. So we have
the host church usually feeds the crew. So that was
the fish and the hustpuppies and but then we have
a green room for all the speakers and all the
people working and the sound people and the band and
all that, and so that's food that's provided by our team.
(01:52:43):
Well that has things like almonds you can have, you know,
peanut butter, pretzels you can have, you know, protein bars,
nay buddies and you know, well and then they do
have donuts and cakes and things like that.
Speaker 3 (01:52:57):
And Speedy.
Speaker 6 (01:53:00):
Greg, I will say, Speedy was worse than you. Oh yeah,
I've never seen anything like it.
Speaker 7 (01:53:03):
I thank you.
Speaker 6 (01:53:04):
Or at one time, I feel like that I lost
Speedy and he was it was him and the sweets.
Speaker 3 (01:53:10):
He didn't care about anybody. It was him and the
sweet Speedy. How much I mean.
Speaker 9 (01:53:15):
It was I went off in it, uh, and that
the mistake is not starting because once I taste it,
I'm in you know what I mean, It's like I
am all yeah, And I had not really eaten that
much all day because I knew what was going to happen.
But it was almost like you know, when things are
going well and it's just it's just such a great moment.
(01:53:37):
I just want to you know, listen, it was just Friday.
Speaker 3 (01:53:41):
I don't think it was just Friday. Friday was nothing
compared to Saturday. Saturday morning he went crazy Saturday morning.
Saturday morning. I still feel bad, I still feel sluggish.
Speaker 1 (01:53:51):
Friday.
Speaker 7 (01:53:52):
Still listen, we're gonna throw it out of the bus.
Speaker 12 (01:53:55):
Rich came back, and he's another one that can get
going on sweet. He had a piece of that cake
and he had his fork that he's going to use
on the cake, and he had a donut stuck on it.
Speaker 7 (01:54:03):
So he was walking through there.
Speaker 9 (01:54:08):
Now there was one time to where you need to
calm down a little bit.
Speaker 1 (01:54:11):
I didn't.
Speaker 9 (01:54:12):
Rich just goes out and does a phenomenal job speaking. Okay,
I know it's hopping around little bit. This was Saturday
morning and he hadn't really eaten breakfast, and post poach speaking,
post speaking, he was like, okay, now I can eat
and and I'm like, eat a donut, have a cinnamon cake.
Speaker 1 (01:54:32):
And you're there going what are you doing?
Speaker 3 (01:54:33):
Why are you eating?
Speaker 6 (01:54:34):
Or do you not remember he's telling you he didn't
have breakfast with you. You know, he roomed with me. Oh, okay,
so that's not true. Oh really, Oh he wi check
fil A Biscuits when we got there. Don't you think
that Still he did a great job and he didn't
do it a lot.
Speaker 7 (01:54:48):
No, I think.
Speaker 3 (01:54:48):
I think it's probably good.
Speaker 1 (01:54:50):
Just shock your body.
Speaker 6 (01:54:51):
I work, I worry about I worry about Gregg's type two.
I worry about wingos.
Speaker 7 (01:54:55):
Help let me tell you. And I wouldn't y'all, don't
worry about nothing.
Speaker 3 (01:54:59):
I went by I at one too many times.
Speaker 7 (01:55:01):
I did.
Speaker 3 (01:55:02):
So when we come back and catch my breath. Really,
that's part of the whole experience.
Speaker 1 (01:55:05):
We come back.
Speaker 6 (01:55:06):
There was a moment, and I would have liked for
Speedy to be talking to the pastor of Olive Baptist
Church of Pensacola. I mean, been pastor there for a
long time, and Ted Traylor. And if you've never heard
Ted preach, you're missing out. But I didn't find Speedy
talking to him about the message.
Speaker 3 (01:55:25):
Huh, what are you talking about?
Speaker 6 (01:55:26):
I find I found him talking to Ted Traylor about
if he knew if there was a Michael Wave around
to heat up the cake.
Speaker 7 (01:55:33):
At all.
Speaker 1 (01:55:34):
Right, we'll talk about that when we come back and
we're going.
Speaker 5 (01:55:37):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 4 (01:56:03):
Gota find.
Speaker 5 (01:56:08):
The voice of reason in an unreasonable world, The Rick
Burchers Show.
Speaker 6 (01:56:14):
That's right, Welcome to another week. Thank y'all for being
with us. The gang is here today, Speedy.
Speaker 1 (01:56:21):
Greg and Adler. We've already had a.
Speaker 3 (01:56:22):
Lot of stories today. Go back and catch the archives
if you missed it, and if you don't have to
miss a many of the show, you can catch it
on the YouTube archives or the podcast archives. Whatever you
miss on the normal routine, we don't miss it.
Speaker 1 (01:56:41):
Okay.
Speaker 6 (01:56:41):
So we're gonna finish here in another segment or two
because we got a lot of gold from being on
the road together over the weekend. A big thank you
to First Baptist Church, Panama City, Florida for hosting again.
Just a pat on the back to the team. Thank
you TwinGo, Thank you Dean and Sarah. Thank you Ted Traylor.
(01:57:04):
Your messages were incredible. Andy Blanks. Of course I have
the pleasure of hearing him speak often as we do
these conferences together as part of Team Man Church. He
handles all the publishing of our curriculum and so he
was outstanding. Les Bradford and the team, all of the
team out in the working the resources and running the
(01:57:25):
sound and just everything's first class. Chuck Hooton and these
incredible musicians and singers and you know what I want
to say. And guys, y'all can chime here, because we're
doing this this year with us starting the show, the
Rick Burgers Show. We have a table and Greg and
Speedy and I were able to go, and of course they're
they're they're out there even getting more feedback than me
(01:57:47):
because there's a lot of things I'm having to do
with the conference. But how about a thank you for
how encouraging man people coming by talking about you know,
your support of the Rick and Bubba show for decades.
Thank you for that, and now just being kind about
how you're enjoying what we're doing now and just the
encouragement we got and some of you coming up really
(01:58:08):
taking time to say, let me tell you what I'm
really liking, and here's some things I think that have
been great and just very kind, very kind. You don't
have to do that, and you take the time to
do it, and it was great. So the sweets get
out of hand. I'm going to read this. Somebody on
the text says, you know, y'all are a Baptist, so
(01:58:29):
you weren't going and drinking this weekend.
Speaker 7 (01:58:31):
You just all get together and eat sweets. So just
right there.
Speaker 6 (01:58:35):
So Ted Traylor, like I say, from Olive, who's just
such an encourager, you know those Sherry and I were
talking about this. He's he's been such an encouragement to
both Sherry and me. Sherry and I did a marriage
conference at Olive, and he is the pastor stayed and
listened to the messages and so encouraging to Sherry, read
her book, and and he's just and anytime we're going
(01:58:56):
through something like this big change we just went through,
I'll always hear from it, you know, He'll he'll check
on you, that kind of thing. And so he's a
great pastor and not just a great preacher. So anyway,
so I told him, I was just thinking him, you know,
for the great job that he did, and told him
the response that we had, we'll get into some of that.
He sends back to this Glory to God. It was
(01:59:16):
a joy and encouraging time. Thanks for the fun and hospitality. Yeah, Speedy,
Speedy had warm cake waiting for me as I came
off the platform. I think Barnabas probably did that for
the apostle. Paul, like, so you got the pastor involved
(01:59:37):
in it.
Speaker 9 (01:59:38):
Well that you know, there was small talk Greg, We're
all standing around and stuff, and I hear him commenting
on the microwave and the cake, the cinnamon cake waver
and and I heard him say out loud, boy, be
nice if I had a warm piece right after, because
they were they were kind of wrapping up, and there
were only there were some pre cut pieces on small
(01:59:59):
play and there were only a few left. And I
heard him ask your question, hey, are they going to be?
And he left when I finish, and I just heard
him in comment say, man, it'd be nice to have
a peace warm you know that I could warm up
after I speak.
Speaker 3 (02:00:13):
And I just kind of I put that away. You
heard that he loved you for it.
Speaker 6 (02:00:17):
And well when he said that before, what he saw
the only thing make this cake a little bit better?
Speaker 7 (02:00:21):
Maybe woman up in the microwave.
Speaker 6 (02:00:22):
And I've been a Baptist pastor for nearly fifty years,
and I know one thing is certain. Somewhere within walking
distance in a Baptist church, there's a microwave.
Speaker 1 (02:00:31):
Glory to God. And he went and found it.
Speaker 3 (02:00:34):
Yeah, well, yeah, so glory.
Speaker 17 (02:00:36):
I found it.
Speaker 9 (02:00:37):
So and he even made a comment speed he found
a microwave.
Speaker 3 (02:00:40):
Oh you know, he told him right across from the bathrooms.
Speaker 9 (02:00:43):
And so he finished up, and he was walking off
the stage, and you were walking right past him because
he was handing it off to you. I didn't want
to miss anything you did, because I knew you said
you the way you were going to start. I was
looking forward to the way you were going to crank
things up and uh. And so I ran in the
air and I knew where they had put that peace
and so then I got to the microwave and I
(02:01:05):
got back just about the time he and Andy started talking,
and then they start going into the break room, and
I handed him the piece, and you would have thought
he loved you for it. I mean, he was so excited.
Speaker 1 (02:01:15):
Barnabus did for the apostle.
Speaker 3 (02:01:17):
Paul, I'm glad you weren't around, because you're gonna don't
eat that can do what he wants.
Speaker 1 (02:01:23):
He's earned it.
Speaker 9 (02:01:23):
Yeah, he had blessed me with his message, So I
was like, well, I'm a blessing him with the hot
days sentiment.
Speaker 6 (02:01:29):
Yeah, that's the first time y'all heard him preach outstanding. So
back to Friday Night for just a minute, because let's
just get real. Let's all get real Friday Night. You've
got your opening worship set, You've got Andy with his
outstanding message, You've got the interview about the book that
I'm not supposed to be talking about. Then you have
(02:01:52):
the Compassion International and thank you men. Once again we
broke another record on how many children you all sponsored,
and and then you have Dean and Sarah with his
message which was outstanding on cultural Christianity from the book
The Unsaved Christian. And now I'm on Friday Night. My
only job is time of response, and I watch how
(02:02:14):
the time's going. And you ever had that uncomfortable moment
where you're like, we're running a little bit behind and
nobody we don't know why. And I'm like, so why
aren't we behind? I don't know why we'd be behind.
Everything seems to be whatever. And you know how you
you remember Ghostbushers?
Speaker 1 (02:02:30):
What did you do?
Speaker 7 (02:02:31):
Ray?
Speaker 6 (02:02:31):
And I kept noticing that Les Bradford wasn't saying much
so so less is the MC of the event. And
he did an outstanding message in Birmingham, and I think
he got the Holy Ghost going a little bit, and
he did outstanding, and we all were ragging on him
in Birmingham. We said, hey, you really set the tone
(02:02:52):
and it was just a little ten minute. You know,
here's the tone for the weekend. This is why we're here.
And I thought, you just did outstanding.
Speaker 25 (02:02:59):
Well.
Speaker 3 (02:02:59):
I didn't hear him his message this time.
Speaker 6 (02:03:01):
Because of distractions of dealing with all of y'all mainly
and uh so, yep, so anywhere. So then all of
a sudden, everybody walks away and it's like a moment
with me and him.
Speaker 3 (02:03:12):
He goes.
Speaker 6 (02:03:14):
I did like a full message. I said, what he goes?
I hate carried away he goes, he goes, he goes.
I came off a lot and I ru was off
just talk for twenty minutes. And I said, so you're
the reason we're behind and and so and it's.
Speaker 3 (02:03:24):
It's going to keep his own time.
Speaker 6 (02:03:26):
I said, you're the only time guy and so so anyway,
so but it was great, who cares? And so so
we're getting down and I look up they because we
all want to experience the conference too. I said, this
is another thing true. That's what I have so much
respect for like I remember, Ted Traylor didn't speak till Saturday,
and this is the what I love about him. He
(02:03:47):
got there on Friday night and I was we were like,
well he goes well, didn't didn't want to get up
and have to make that drive on Saturday. But I
also I told my wife, I want to get over
and let people. I got a little a little preaching.
These come at me a little bit. I'm gonna sit down.
I'm get preached out a little bit, okay, you know,
and I'm gonna worship and I'm gonna spend my time
and all that so is great. So anyway, I look
and Dean and Sarah's doing this incredible message, and he's
(02:04:08):
the last message of Friday until I do the time
of decision. And I look over here and one Greg
Burgess who's been up since two thirty, Speedy, who's been
up since three fifteen, three thirty. And of course I'm
hurting because I bet up since three fifteen. And I
look and the old team's looking rugged.
Speaker 3 (02:04:24):
And look ye I mean, I mean the team is
looking rough. It's so u So we go up and
I realized by where we are, I said, with it all,
I'm wanna do. I'm gonna take that last bit. I'm
gonna shorten it down.
Speaker 6 (02:04:38):
I think I did twelve fifteen minutes quick and this
one here, but then we had the time to time
response and it was great man, and then I turn
it over to the praise team to celebrate what we've done.
I really didn't take that long. I knew I had to.
You can't just leave, you got to go talk to everybody.
I look up my wing man supposedly wing wing go
(02:05:00):
shoulders shoulder through anything burgess and I look up and
he goes, hey, trailer's got to stay in the same
hotels and give me a ride.
Speaker 1 (02:05:08):
I said, are you leaving? I'm gonna catch ride.
Speaker 3 (02:05:11):
I said, so you're out, you're catching a ride back
to the hotel.
Speaker 6 (02:05:17):
And I said, oh, we look tired. Is ritual tired,
So you need to go get in the bed. He
goes to the hotel, I mean, and leaves me. And
and of course you know now, I'm like, you know,
we got to Now we gotta find everybody. Bar booteris
is out front talking to people. Bro he's with us,
he's filming. He's not ready to go. He's his last
stuff you had to get his stuff. We're sitting down,
(02:05:38):
so we're all in a bond. And so by the
time we get back to the hotel, I'll walk in.
I've never seen somebody looks so comfortable riches. He is
snug as a bug and a rug.
Speaker 1 (02:05:49):
He's already asleep.
Speaker 3 (02:05:50):
Now to him tell you for him to.
Speaker 1 (02:05:52):
He said, I came in loud, and you know what.
Speaker 6 (02:05:53):
I said, Well, pardon me for coming in and trying
to talk about how we saw God moves. And I said,
didn't mean to come in excited, I said, I you know,
I said, I kind of stayed behind and make sure
if I was taking care of sort of like Jesus
would have done. I said, you think Jesus catches a ride?
He goes, what what? Ted Traylor maybe takes a good point.
Speaker 3 (02:06:14):
We'll hit that all was dozing off when you came in.
You know how somebody just looks so comfortable.
Speaker 4 (02:06:19):
He had it like he liked.
Speaker 5 (02:06:20):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. We talked to the
public every day, and trust us, you should be grievelly concerned.
(02:06:42):
The Rick Burgess Show a lot of truth.
Speaker 6 (02:06:44):
There ken a lot of truth. Uh, field of greens.
I don't know no way to schedule. I will tell
you this one thing that I talked about the Stacks about.
He was saying, what are you doing when you have
to regimen Jagi? And I was like, well, Field of
Greens is a big player because I'm getting the proper
nutrition struggle getting that in my diet, and then you
have something like Friday night and Saturday with us at
(02:07:05):
the conference. See, I knew the whole time because the
Field of Greens that my body was getting the fruits
and vegetables and the nutrition that it needs and that
clean energy really really is a game changer. And my
doctor is thrilled. I'm about to go in for another checkup,
and I know he's going to be thrilled again because
he said, hey, whatever you're doing, you keep doing it.
(02:07:26):
And I'm talk to him about Field of Greens. And
here's the bottom line. If you don't have your doctor
saying you're improving and it's making an impact on your health,
you know they'll refund your money. That's how confident they
are in this outstanding product. I love this product, and
you hear that conviction to my voice. So if this
is one thing you could do for your health today
(02:07:48):
that could be a game changer.
Speaker 3 (02:07:49):
The code is big Vox.
Speaker 6 (02:07:50):
As you know, go to Fieldogreens dot com save twenty percent.
If you have any other questions, you can always email me,
Hey Bird, Hey Bird, and I'll help you. Also there's
a link link right there at Rick Burgess show dot com.
Under sponsors loved this product, and boy did I love it.
Speaker 1 (02:08:05):
It went on the road with me. It was with me.
Speaker 6 (02:08:09):
So we were hitting kind of the high points of
the conference. You know, we know that everybody the little
bell out there on my own wingo and he went
on back. So the conference went went really really well,
and anything y'all can think of to ad go ahead.
But I was going to get to the young Broadrick,
everything coming back on him. So and then I want
(02:08:30):
to read a testimony from the weekend that is unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (02:08:33):
But anyway, so we're.
Speaker 6 (02:08:36):
Getting ready now to leave to go back home, and
you know, we and I and I feel a real
responsibility to all these guys to get them back home
to their families as soon as we can. And so
everybody's kind of gathering. We did stay to the last
person was there and had great conversations with people, incredible
conversations with people. It was an honor to meet so
(02:08:56):
many of you, and we're doing our thank yous, and
all of a sudden, I see my son, young, young
Broderick kind of easing over to me. Teams a little peak.
It teams a little tired. Everybody ready to get on home,
trying to find Rich and right. Wow, and you know,
I wish Rich had been devoted to staying with me
(02:09:18):
as much as he was willing to stay with those
men Saturday, which I appreciated that.
Speaker 7 (02:09:23):
That was great. Uh. And so.
Speaker 6 (02:09:26):
When your son comes up to me, say, hey, Dad,
a lot of messages this week at the conference. Yeah, yeah,
I thought they were great. You like the messages? I
thought they were outstanding. He goes, there was a theme
that really ran through the messages. I heard this mentioned
a lot this weekend. Okay, what was that? Mercy and grace? Right,
we're doomed without it?
Speaker 7 (02:09:45):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (02:09:45):
Sure, so mercy? Do you you know you agree that
Jesus has been gracious to all of us?
Speaker 7 (02:09:50):
He has, I.
Speaker 3 (02:09:51):
Think he said.
Speaker 6 (02:09:52):
I think even in your message, you said that we
shouldn't deny grace to other people that Jesus didn't deny us.
Speaker 3 (02:09:57):
I did say that because that's in the Bible. Yes, correct,
And I said, where are we headed with this, buddy?
And then you started guessing, did did you not get
the footage? Did your camera not work?
Speaker 9 (02:10:07):
Because this was brilliant his his I guess the way
he was presenting it, it made you think something like
really really bad happened.
Speaker 6 (02:10:15):
Oh yeah, I honestly at one point would have taken
the camera didn't work.
Speaker 9 (02:10:20):
I thought, you've been working all weekend and you would
never you never hit recording or something like that.
Speaker 6 (02:10:24):
That's what I was thinking. He said, got a call
from the hotel. Apparently I've left my key fob and
he didn't even know he'd left his charger there and
they have it at the front desk and we need to.
Speaker 3 (02:10:34):
Go buy and grab it on the way to the airport. Okay,
I said, I surely remember somebody sending Daddy a little
text about beating him to the lobby on Friday. And
I said, really made a big, big deal about it.
And I said, see God's listening, son, He's always listening.
And but you know what I thought. I was very
(02:10:55):
I thought you had no problem.
Speaker 9 (02:10:57):
But again his delivery, Greg, Yeah, problem was good because
it made it sound like, yeah, oh my god. So
then when he said, oh, I just left my keys,
it was like, oh, yeah.
Speaker 7 (02:11:08):
This is good thing.
Speaker 9 (02:11:08):
You didn't discover it after we got back home now, right,
because he said they did call him, and if they
hadn't called him, he would not have recognized it, so
he we'd have gotten back home, right, And I said, well,
you you've got an extra pair, right.
Speaker 10 (02:11:21):
Right?
Speaker 6 (02:11:21):
Yeah, he didn't. He's just like he's he's just like
his dad. He does not have an extra fobs. He's
dead without it. And of course then everybody has to
suffer what happens in our group. If anything happened to
you during the week, weekend or whatever, that's now the
jokes against.
Speaker 7 (02:11:37):
You all the way back home.
Speaker 1 (02:11:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (02:11:39):
So anytime Rich would say something, I'd say, well, let's
let's let's hurry because Rich might get sleepy, you know.
So that was always that, you know. Then it was, hey, hey,
of course Brody probably left something in the hotel. We
might have to go back, you know. Then hey, oh gosh,
here comes around about you. You have to hear about that.
Speaker 1 (02:11:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (02:11:55):
But on the so it was we had an outstanding weekend.
But I do want to do one serious thing to
kind of give you the idea of the impact. Now, this, this,
this testimony, this right here is true repentance.
Speaker 1 (02:12:11):
You know.
Speaker 6 (02:12:11):
You know, Jesus even talks about, you know, if if
your eye causes you to send gouge it out, okay,
that taking anything that you that you're struggling with. And
then Rich mentioned in one of his articles, you know,
if you've got an issue with, say your phone, and
it keeps dragging you into you know, something porn or
something whatever, you'd be better off take the hammer and
just just destroy it if it's if it's causing you
(02:12:33):
to continue not be right with God. And then we
had an analogy and it's it's a message we've done,
you know, over the years, but this particular group had
not most of them had not heard it. So our
big closing message was the message about the moment pilot
brings out Barrabbus or Jesus.
Speaker 1 (02:12:51):
In which one do you choose?
Speaker 6 (02:12:52):
And we we walk through so you understand this testimony
that when we decide to pick us, that's representation of
us picking anything over Jesus, speaking our sin over Jesus.
You even find out in history that the name was
actually Jesus Barrabas was his full name. That's why Pilot says,
you want Jesus Barrabbas, or you want Jesus who says
(02:13:14):
he's the Christ. And you know and you know how
that all goes, and there's a whole message tied to that.
But this is a testimony from the weekend. I thought
this was incredible, one powerful testimony. This is from one
of the churches that was there. I wanted to share
with you. I want to reach out and share a
story with you. One of our guys stood up to
accept Jesus, repented of his sin, and he has a
two hundred dollars iPad that he carries with him. That
(02:13:36):
device is his main device that he uses for a
porn addiction that he has that we didn't know as
we were leaving the church. After he repented and said
he wanted to follow Jesus, he literally threw the iPad
into the dumpster and turned around and said, I no
longer want to choose Barabbas.
Speaker 7 (02:13:53):
I want to choose Jesus.
Speaker 6 (02:13:55):
Wow, threw it away, tossed it. Now, that's repentance when
you're willing to sow that in the dovester. If it's
gonna be a problem for you.
Speaker 1 (02:14:03):
So it was. It was incredible.
Speaker 6 (02:14:06):
Yes we had a lot of fun, no doubt about that,
but it's an honor to do it. Incredible team. But
we also saw once again God moving. There's a revival
going on with men right now in this country. Another
weekend coming up in Atlanta, and if you if you're
even considering it, you got to be.
Speaker 5 (02:14:26):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. This is where Logic
Beats left the Rick Burgis Shows.
Speaker 6 (02:14:46):
Here we go, We're back. Thanks for being with us today,
all right, So checking out something left in the hall
here at the studios. So Greg has brought in a bag.
So here there's a letter that's attached in it, and
here's what it says. Hey, guys, my husband and I
(02:15:09):
had a great time on the show last week, and
we're grateful to be in the first Vox seats of
the new show. But I felt bad that we showed
up empty handed, not bringing gifts for y'all, especially especially
since Rick made special arrangements to have us on. I've
included small gifts for each and every one of you
(02:15:29):
that fits each individual.
Speaker 10 (02:15:33):
All right.
Speaker 6 (02:15:33):
So first of all, I'm looking at the things Greg's
laid out all right. There, this apparently the cane. There's
a walking cane.
Speaker 1 (02:15:40):
Rick. This is for you.
Speaker 6 (02:15:42):
I think we can all agree that it may be
needed in the future as you continue to jump out
of your seat and excite me when someone spends the wheel.
If you would have been extra use it would have
been extra useful a couple of weeks ago when you
hurt your hip. Yes, but I have no doubt that
your dancing antics will light up that hip sometime in
the near future. Already has bondus. It has a bell,
(02:16:06):
being that you tend to sneak up on Sherry and
scare her. Perhaps walking with the cane with the bell
attached will give her a small faint bell ring when
you're approaching, so you won't startle her anymore.
Speaker 3 (02:16:18):
Okay, well, where's my bell? Do you see the other?
Speaker 7 (02:16:20):
I see it right, it's on there.
Speaker 3 (02:16:21):
There's my walking cane.
Speaker 4 (02:16:23):
You're gonna need it.
Speaker 3 (02:16:24):
So when somebody spinds the wheel, I just come up
like this. I got to come up a little bit,
wait longer. Yeah, and it's got the bell, so I
don't scare Sherry. Okay, I like it. Thank you, Greg,
you're next.
Speaker 6 (02:16:35):
I love your comments as all of your minions do,
pointing out people's physical and mental oddities roundness, large noses,
ID birthmarks, speech impediments, WHOA d A andus, double chins,
stupid outfits, men that eat egg white, Greg and granola
for breakfast, et cetera. But in case you need a reset,
(02:16:59):
your gift is the card with your.
Speaker 3 (02:17:01):
Grandkids' names on it. Please add your favorite pictures of
them on the card. Your co host may choose to
display the card at your.
Speaker 6 (02:17:09):
Station anytime they feel you need a momentary reset, a
softening of the heart.
Speaker 7 (02:17:13):
Look at that.
Speaker 6 (02:17:14):
There's Mary Hollis and Pace, which, by the way, we
have something from Pace today, will play Greg Marroer that video. Yeah,
we'll do that.
Speaker 1 (02:17:21):
All right.
Speaker 3 (02:17:21):
So there's Greg's grandkids.
Speaker 6 (02:17:23):
But he said she said you could put pick actual
pictures of them on there.
Speaker 3 (02:17:28):
Yeah, that's good. And we hold that card up anytime
we think Greg.
Speaker 1 (02:17:31):
Needs to soften.
Speaker 7 (02:17:31):
To look at it, and I like it.
Speaker 6 (02:17:34):
Speedy Yours is very simple? Is it the card that
says speedy not creepy. It is for you to take
with you when you're approaching strangers in the parking lot
to play radio games. It has the show's logo on it,
and telling people upfront that you are not creepy may
entice them to not ho til it out of the
parking lot when you walk up and try to speak
(02:17:55):
to Okay, there's that let me see it right, Okay,
I see it speedy, not creepy.
Speaker 8 (02:18:01):
And the best way to let people know that you're
not creepy is by holding a sign that says not creepy.
Speaker 7 (02:18:06):
That'll do it every time.
Speaker 9 (02:18:09):
The logo work last time when I was, you know,
walking that around. But I might like hang this around
my neck like it's you know, all right, look at
that right there, sandwich style.
Speaker 6 (02:18:17):
All right, adler, yours is a step ladder. This could
be self explanatory.
Speaker 3 (02:18:24):
Yeah, you look like Ziggie back there. I can't see
anything but your above your nose. Well, okay, so listen
to this though. They have good news for you. But
keep in mind that the fittest men on earth. According
to CrossFit, the fittest men on Earth average about five
six to five nine yea, in that range, you're in
(02:18:47):
good fit company. I noticed your forums last week when
playing basketball. I saw the veins popping out.
Speaker 4 (02:18:55):
Oh, very vascular. I'm very vascular.
Speaker 6 (02:18:57):
And I know you can handstand walk. That's a real
cool party trick. No worries. I'm not a creepy cougar.
I'm a personal trainer and I noticed these things. And
don't worry if you forget your steps too. When you
go to the grocery store and I happen to be there,
I'll get things off the top shelf for you.
Speaker 7 (02:19:18):
And that's what's good.
Speaker 4 (02:19:19):
A little bit of a shot, that's fine.
Speaker 8 (02:19:20):
Look, if it wasn't such a handy item, i'd be
a little bit offended, But it's fine.
Speaker 7 (02:19:26):
You kind of like, why.
Speaker 1 (02:19:28):
Didn't you be honest?
Speaker 7 (02:19:29):
You kind of like the step like.
Speaker 4 (02:19:30):
I can use that, I can actually use that.
Speaker 1 (02:19:32):
Yeah, and I like my cane. Did you get it
back up to my heart?
Speaker 24 (02:19:35):
Yes?
Speaker 7 (02:19:35):
Yeah, I think yeah, Yeah, I like that right there.
Speaker 4 (02:19:40):
I don't like that, Rick. I don't like seeing you
with them.
Speaker 1 (02:19:42):
I don't like to.
Speaker 3 (02:19:43):
Feel you know why. I don't like seeing this future
doesn't look that product.
Speaker 7 (02:19:47):
Doesn't look very good.
Speaker 1 (02:19:53):
Sorry, all right, so thank you? They didn't put their
name on here?
Speaker 3 (02:19:58):
Well I don't know Greg got it?
Speaker 1 (02:20:00):
So who does did you? It doesn't say nobody's names on.
Speaker 4 (02:20:04):
Yeah, I'm trying to think of who was here last week?
Who the cougar was.
Speaker 7 (02:20:08):
I'm trying to think of it.
Speaker 6 (02:20:10):
It says that that they were the first box each
of the show, so that probably that was great.
Speaker 3 (02:20:16):
Yeah, I wonder does it not say that didn't sign it?
Did Greg?
Speaker 7 (02:20:21):
I don't think they did.
Speaker 1 (02:20:23):
Greg.
Speaker 6 (02:20:23):
I want to I want to ask you, do we
have Everybody was asking me at the conference, do we
have an updown on your Christmas decoration?
Speaker 12 (02:20:31):
It's pretty funny, so you know, I bring it up
ever so often ago we're still hanging on to this,
still got our trees up.
Speaker 3 (02:20:38):
Yeah, and we had and a lot of stuff out.
So I come home Saturday. I finally get home because
I had an hour and a half drive. After we
got back, Speedy could walk to his house from where
we were. He really thought about you once anyway.
Speaker 12 (02:20:52):
And I walk in out here Christmas music that is
no line that Christmas music is playing.
Speaker 3 (02:20:56):
I'm thinking, I don't know if that's good or bad.
She may be putting more stuff out.
Speaker 12 (02:21:00):
She had been and listen, not feeling great at this
one of but she had got motivated to she said,
I'm I said that we'd have it up by March
so anyway, she had taken a bunch of stuff down,
taking it upstairs, and of course I said, just leave
at the bottom of stairs, I'll take it up there.
But yeah, she got up and started taking it down,
and it's not completely down, but weird head it in there.
Speaker 6 (02:21:20):
Do you think you have it down by this weekend
and when you get back from Atlanta?
Speaker 7 (02:21:23):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (02:21:24):
March one is Saturday, probably not?
Speaker 1 (02:21:27):
Probably not.
Speaker 12 (02:21:28):
Well, I mean we can take it down this week
during the week, yeah like that, but yeah, yeah, so
we are. This is an official step to take it down,
because you know, I hadn't seen that up to this point.
Speaker 7 (02:21:39):
And what's funny is, like I said.
Speaker 12 (02:21:40):
I walk into all all the rooms were lit up
with lights because she's moving stuff and Christmas music playing.
Speaker 7 (02:21:45):
So I don't know why, but it was right.
Speaker 3 (02:21:48):
But we have we are moving in the direction that
I believe we will have it down by the end
of the week. Do you think it's going to happen
the six step?
Speaker 7 (02:21:56):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (02:21:56):
Can I ask you, said.
Speaker 6 (02:21:57):
To where are you emotionally on this? Did you get
to the part were you kind of digging it?
Speaker 3 (02:22:01):
Yeah? And then start thinking why don't we just ride
this thing all the way to the end.
Speaker 7 (02:22:05):
I'm not right.
Speaker 3 (02:22:06):
He's digging.
Speaker 7 (02:22:07):
I'm not riding that all the way and the end. Right?
Speaker 3 (02:22:09):
Are you glad this has happened? Be careful with your one. No,
it's weird because I've gotten used to it, and I
hate taking it down anyway, not as bad as I
hate putting it up.
Speaker 7 (02:22:18):
But so taking it down doesn't bother you as much
as putting it up.
Speaker 3 (02:22:21):
No, okay, but wrastling the big tree that's still ahead
of me.
Speaker 7 (02:22:26):
If I can get that one out of the way,
then I'll be just go straight to it.
Speaker 3 (02:22:30):
Here we go.
Speaker 7 (02:22:30):
She's taking some of the decorations off of it, though.
Speaker 1 (02:22:33):
Can can you?
Speaker 6 (02:22:34):
Can you do this without your leg coming through the scene?
And again yes, can you make an adjustment idea and
putting down supply wood?
Speaker 3 (02:22:43):
Should do it the first time? Yes, you should have saved
you one. Yeah, all right, but yes, I'm a I
should be good. Okay, it's a handle, all right.
Speaker 6 (02:22:53):
So I'm thinking I'm thinking maybe midweek next week, maybe
a week from say, Wednesday, I think it may be down.
Speaker 7 (02:23:01):
Yeah, we'll see, we will see.
Speaker 12 (02:23:04):
We got two trees that are not really that Christmas
e that she claims her winter trees, so that'll be
the last ones to go.
Speaker 8 (02:23:12):
So you got to listen to Christmas music while you
take your Christmas decorations down.
Speaker 7 (02:23:16):
I normally don't, but yes, evidently we do.
Speaker 3 (02:23:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (02:23:22):
I got to say that. Aaron and I sang rock
to Steady.
Speaker 4 (02:23:27):
You know that rock Steady song.
Speaker 8 (02:23:29):
We sang it all weekend thanks to Lisa in the
video with the dog rank.
Speaker 1 (02:23:38):
Because your dog is your dog still acting weird?
Speaker 12 (02:23:40):
Oh yes, she's gonna do the toist. Y'all got to
see it, man, she was getting it.
Speaker 4 (02:23:43):
We watched that video probably ten times this week.
Speaker 12 (02:23:45):
How fast does she spend It's amazing. And what's funny,
She's not chasing her tail, she's just spinning.
Speaker 7 (02:23:50):
She's just happy.
Speaker 6 (02:23:51):
Yes, yeah, and I guess Adler, I know that you
had a conflict this past weekend going to Panama City.
Speaker 3 (02:23:57):
Did your tea party go okay?
Speaker 4 (02:23:59):
Oh yeah? Yeah sure. You guys were at a man
conference and I was.
Speaker 8 (02:24:02):
At a tea party, three different places, a little bit
different settings and scenarios.
Speaker 3 (02:24:08):
Yeah, at least you and your son were together.
Speaker 4 (02:24:11):
Yeah, we were the only dudes there.
Speaker 7 (02:24:13):
At least you got then.
Speaker 8 (02:24:15):
Sometimes there's like, at least one dad there you can
be like, so football, it's cool, huh And he's like, yeah,
I'm like grilling and he's like, yeah, grilling, see you later.
Speaker 4 (02:24:24):
You know, at least you can get one of those conversations.
Speaker 8 (02:24:26):
In this weekend it was me and yeah probably thirty
forty girls and Ezra Princess is everywhere and Azra's not
old enough to have that conversation.
Speaker 7 (02:24:37):
Yeah, at grilling.
Speaker 6 (02:24:40):
Right now, we're sticking to Liken, No touch, Hi, we
come back the first phone call segment of the of
the week.
Speaker 1 (02:24:49):
Our number is eight.
Speaker 3 (02:24:50):
Eight eight the number six Big Box.
Speaker 4 (02:24:53):
We let it go about four times.
Speaker 1 (02:24:55):
Guys, I mean four times, let it go.
Speaker 3 (02:24:57):
Let it go four times?
Speaker 8 (02:24:58):
Oh yeah, phone frozen and then the rocks that you're
welcome like a thousand times.
Speaker 5 (02:25:02):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Okay, are you ready
to bring something to the table?
Speaker 10 (02:25:21):
Cool?
Speaker 5 (02:25:21):
No, and get on the show. One eight eight eight
six Big fucks.
Speaker 6 (02:25:28):
Greg Berg is taking phone calls right now, our first
time this week to talk to you America.
Speaker 3 (02:25:35):
The number is eight eight eight six Big Fox.
Speaker 6 (02:25:41):
On the text line, they must be running wild today. Hey, Rick,
I started my day by the way being hit by
a deer coming in. Just cream the deer in my
garbage truke. They're everywhere, they're running wild. Also, if you'll
dial it right now, there's lines available by the way,
you can get in. Also someone else saying earlier, Rick,
you said that Ted Traylor was not only a great preacher,
(02:26:03):
but a good pastor.
Speaker 1 (02:26:04):
What does that mean?
Speaker 6 (02:26:05):
Well, I know sometimes in different denominations people may call
you know, whoever is in that poolpit, and it's kind
of the you know, the head of the church, as
far as Christ is the head of the church, but
the human being that is kind of the shepherd or
you know, some people use the word minister, and it's
(02:26:25):
there's all kinds of But what I mean by that,
and what I'm familiar with is that, you know, when
you're the pastor of a church, you have the preaching
responsibilities most of the time, but also the pastoring part
is you get your hands dirty. You know, there's a
(02:26:45):
lot of people that are you know, can preach, but
when it comes to the meetings and the administration and
I'm going to the hospital and I'm visiting and I'm
meeting with people and I'm there coming alongside you during
your time of trouble. And of course the bigger the church,
the harder that is to do for one person. But
what I'm saying is trailer is a great combination of
(02:27:08):
the two. You know, some people are and then there's
people who are really good at the pastoring part, the shepherding,
caring for you, come alongside you, checking on you, you know,
morning with you, sitting with you. You know, but they're not
great preachers. You know, some some can do one or
the other better, and you know, rare are those that
do both really well. And he's definitely one of those.
(02:27:29):
So that's that's what I mean by that. So we continue.
Let's go to Oh my goodness, it's Hilarry from Dublin, Georgia.
Larry says he has good news. Larry, what's the good news?
Speaker 7 (02:27:41):
That's great?
Speaker 24 (02:27:43):
Shatter day, one of your listeners drew three miles three
hours to come, and yet visitors.
Speaker 6 (02:27:55):
Are you kidding me? Because when you said three miles,
I think that was a big of a sacrifice.
Speaker 4 (02:28:00):
Out three miles, three.
Speaker 3 (02:28:01):
Hours, three hours to Were they pleasant?
Speaker 25 (02:28:04):
From that? They were bank has wonderful?
Speaker 3 (02:28:09):
Wonderful? Did they bring patches?
Speaker 24 (02:28:13):
Yes, A had a fir department oh nice.
Speaker 3 (02:28:20):
Well, Larry, that's that's so good.
Speaker 6 (02:28:22):
You know, I warned you when you when you gave
out your address that you know people could you know,
they could be there, they could come to see you.
But but this is all good, right.
Speaker 24 (02:28:33):
We don't mind that people come or not.
Speaker 7 (02:28:37):
Okay, what was that?
Speaker 25 (02:28:38):
Their birth name is Chris.
Speaker 24 (02:28:43):
Baby will not give us.
Speaker 4 (02:28:45):
He told us do not tell his last name.
Speaker 3 (02:28:47):
Okay, so yeah, we won't do that.
Speaker 24 (02:28:49):
Okay, somebody No, he's a big listener to you.
Speaker 3 (02:28:54):
Well, thank you, Larry and Carolyn. That what a great update.
Speaker 9 (02:28:58):
So you may tell me somebody got in the card,
drove three hours to you guys, yep, and and gave
y'all a patch and set with you for a little
bit and hung out.
Speaker 24 (02:29:06):
Yes, he gave his name patches Greg. He had this
fight of car Karen and charrot Cake.
Speaker 1 (02:29:14):
Larry.
Speaker 6 (02:29:15):
Wow, now you're gonna get speedy over there, I mean, wow. Well,
what a what a great update from both of you.
And it's good to hear from you. And I'm glad
that went well, that's outstanding, uh, to Chris and Florence.
Speaker 23 (02:29:29):
Chris, go ahead, first off, I want to go ahead
and say that wasn't me.
Speaker 3 (02:29:34):
You're the first one I thought. I thought the same thing.
Speaker 1 (02:29:37):
I thought the same thing.
Speaker 23 (02:29:39):
Okay, I need first, I need the judge addler to
put his gabble on and his head dress on, because
I need some help.
Speaker 6 (02:29:47):
Okay, all right, he sees uh okay, wait a minute,
he's let him get dressed.
Speaker 3 (02:29:53):
He's because he needs to hear getting his row.
Speaker 6 (02:29:55):
Do you want to go full jury or just the
judge rule, because he can't do that.
Speaker 1 (02:30:00):
I net full jewelry.
Speaker 4 (02:30:01):
If we can go full can Greg?
Speaker 7 (02:30:04):
Greg?
Speaker 1 (02:30:04):
Can you hear him in there?
Speaker 3 (02:30:05):
Can Greg?
Speaker 1 (02:30:06):
Can hear you? That's not a U sized rod?
Speaker 5 (02:30:08):
Wow?
Speaker 7 (02:30:08):
Greg?
Speaker 6 (02:30:09):
A little better attitude about that, Greg. Okay, So here
you're you know, we just got from Greg?
Speaker 4 (02:30:13):
This what Greg?
Speaker 1 (02:30:15):
Walk in here?
Speaker 3 (02:30:18):
He's got a microphone. He's got a microphone right there.
Speaker 7 (02:30:20):
All right, So Chris, we're ready to judge judge? Are
you ready?
Speaker 1 (02:30:24):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (02:30:25):
All right? Proceed, Okay, all right, go ahead, Chris. A
little too much gabble? Yeah, wait, too much?
Speaker 23 (02:30:31):
Yeah, a little too much gabble there, Judge storm.
Speaker 3 (02:30:37):
Okay.
Speaker 23 (02:30:38):
My wife bought me some candy on Tuesday of last week.
I didn't even get the first bite of it. The
whole bag was going Is I considered a foul?
Speaker 5 (02:30:49):
Foul?
Speaker 3 (02:30:50):
All right, so let me be clear that you can't.
Speaker 6 (02:30:53):
You can't rule yet we all right, So how it goes.
You're saying that your wife got you some candy. Are
you suggesting that that she ate it? Or did your
You have children?
Speaker 23 (02:31:06):
Yes, no, the children don't.
Speaker 25 (02:31:07):
The children haven't touched it.
Speaker 23 (02:31:09):
I literally watched her with the bag yesterday we were
driving to church, and I looked over at her and
I said, is that all the candy that you just.
Speaker 25 (02:31:17):
Bought for me?
Speaker 23 (02:31:17):
She said, uh huh. I said, I didn't even get
one of them. She said, well, I bought them on Tuesday.
Speaker 3 (02:31:23):
And who was and why were you getting candy?
Speaker 7 (02:31:25):
Yeah?
Speaker 11 (02:31:25):
Why?
Speaker 3 (02:31:25):
Why?
Speaker 23 (02:31:26):
Or was it just the candy the Valentine's Day?
Speaker 25 (02:31:29):
It was the Valentine's Day.
Speaker 23 (02:31:30):
Of course, everything's fifty percent off. I don't know why,
but women have to flock for the candy every time
it's all half price.
Speaker 9 (02:31:37):
Okay, So it was a gift. It was a gift
to just you. It wasn't just for the family.
Speaker 7 (02:31:42):
What did just for you?
Speaker 3 (02:31:43):
Did she say, hey, honey, I got you some candy?
Speaker 4 (02:31:47):
Yes she did, Okay, bought herself some candy.
Speaker 9 (02:31:50):
And then it's set there for a few days, and
she was like, well, if he's not gonna eat it,
I will.
Speaker 3 (02:31:54):
Is that what she was kind of saying? Right, were you?
Speaker 1 (02:31:57):
Did you?
Speaker 3 (02:31:58):
Did you intend to eat it?
Speaker 16 (02:32:01):
Yeah?
Speaker 25 (02:32:01):
It's my favorite. I love cinnamon candy.
Speaker 1 (02:32:03):
So I'm like, oh, yeah, cinnamon.
Speaker 4 (02:32:07):
What kind of candy?
Speaker 3 (02:32:08):
Was it like cinnamon?
Speaker 7 (02:32:09):
What is it?
Speaker 1 (02:32:10):
Hard candy?
Speaker 7 (02:32:11):
Cinnamon?
Speaker 23 (02:32:11):
Hearts like cinnamon hearts.
Speaker 3 (02:32:15):
The red, the red hard candy that tastes like cinnamon.
Speaker 1 (02:32:20):
Yes, I got you.
Speaker 6 (02:32:23):
So she ended up eating it, and her excuse was,
what you were taking too.
Speaker 3 (02:32:28):
Long to eat it?
Speaker 4 (02:32:30):
Correct?
Speaker 3 (02:32:31):
But it was your candy, yes, and it was a
gift from her to you.
Speaker 19 (02:32:37):
Yes.
Speaker 7 (02:32:38):
Hmm.
Speaker 8 (02:32:38):
Okay, God question judge, question, judge question, go ahead, care
handle this carefully.
Speaker 4 (02:32:43):
Did she get you anything else for Valentine's Day?
Speaker 1 (02:32:45):
Easy?
Speaker 23 (02:32:48):
Of course she did.
Speaker 4 (02:32:50):
Dismissed she had all the candies you won't.
Speaker 3 (02:32:56):
Yes, I'm sorry more candy. Oh you didn't even need
the jury.
Speaker 4 (02:33:08):
I'm taking the robot.
Speaker 3 (02:33:11):
We'll just show you know the jury would have voted
with you.
Speaker 1 (02:33:14):
Rocky. What's up, Rocky?
Speaker 25 (02:33:17):
Hey, guys, just walking into physical therapy this morning and
wanted to say hi. I listened to uh one hundred
point three of the River just about every day.
Speaker 1 (02:33:30):
Thank you, buddy.
Speaker 3 (02:33:30):
So what's going on with your with your injury.
Speaker 25 (02:33:35):
I had some issues in my shoulder and they repaired
them last week and I've almost got full use back.

play back. Greg had mentioned this story last week, but
we actually have some video of Greg interacting with one
of his grandkids about about old people, and so that
that's coming up next segment to start the hour.
Speaker 3 (02:35:40):
The only thing, Look, we all have told story after
story after story about.
Speaker 6 (02:35:45):
The nightmare that is airports and commercial airlines and delays
and cancellations and being treated like livestock and uncomfortable seats
and you name it. What you know, my good, they
give you what two paint nuts and tell you to
shut up and be quiet. But anyway, a massive brawl
(02:36:05):
has erupted in the Atlanta Airport terminal. Does the package?
Tell us what cost it? And everything?
Speaker 4 (02:36:13):
I don't know, don't know.
Speaker 6 (02:36:15):
I listened to the first twenty of it, so I
know we have a story that goes with it. But
let's just play the package first, all right, and then
we'll see if there's anything left that the story needs
to fill in on. From Fox five Fox five brawl
in the terminal at the Atlanta Airport.
Speaker 13 (02:36:34):
Here we go, massive brawl at Hartsville Jackson International. It
is making its rounds on social media. So this incident
captured and now viral video shows several people fighting in
front of what appears to be a Spirit Airlines flight.
Speaker 3 (02:36:51):
Live there with.
Speaker 13 (02:36:53):
The latest joy I mean is it is unbelievable to
see at the world's busiest airport.
Speaker 21 (02:37:00):
That is yeah, Eric, absolutely just a really violent scene
that unfolded here. Atlanta Police say they responded to a
disturbance here on February the nineteenth. Since then, hundreds of
thousands of people have viewed this video that is making
it frets on social media. You can see that video
right now. You're taking a look at what some passerby
(02:37:20):
is recorded here at Hartsville Jackson International Airport on Wednesday.
You can see fists flying as passengers look to be
waiting at their gate to board their flight. You can
see the Spirit Airlines wall hanging right behind that group
of about seven or eight people who appear to be
in lair in the video, it's just really a chaotic
(02:37:42):
scene and as you pointed out, just certainly not something
you expect to see here at Hartsville Jackson. The passengers
we spoke with flying out today on Spirit say they
hadn't heard anything about the flight, but they were stunned
to see it.
Speaker 3 (02:37:54):
Hm.
Speaker 7 (02:37:58):
We have a heaven.
Speaker 4 (02:38:00):
But I think these people weren't even involved. I think
they just are random travelers.
Speaker 7 (02:38:07):
Seemed like it was an all slight situation.
Speaker 3 (02:38:09):
I honestly, I can't believe people would catch that defensive.
Speaker 5 (02:38:13):
Over fly it out somewhere.
Speaker 11 (02:38:15):
That's just crazy.
Speaker 3 (02:38:17):
Yeah, I'm looking at the written story.
Speaker 6 (02:38:20):
They don't seem to know what started it either, so
it says no one seemed to be arrested. Uh and
they and they did call for more information, but nobody's
let them know. It is unclear how long the brawl
lasted or what prompted the violets to break out.
Speaker 1 (02:38:37):
Why are they fighting? A witness asked, And no one seems.
Speaker 7 (02:38:39):
And did they all get on the plane together.
Speaker 3 (02:38:41):
That's this, y'all, those of you that can't see it,
it's not a mild fight.
Speaker 7 (02:38:45):
No, let me get this right.
Speaker 3 (02:38:47):
So we're covering this story, and we send a reporter
down there and everything, but the fights already happened like
days ago. Everybody just saw it go viral, and we're
going to interview people who weren't there.
Speaker 7 (02:38:58):
That's great slow news.
Speaker 6 (02:39:02):
So if I'm going down there, here's what I would say.
I know this sounds outrageous. Let's say I'm the news director.
If there are even those anymore, go down there and
find out this is a big thing on viral.
Speaker 3 (02:39:13):
You're so purpose because we've got it. It's already viral.
Speaker 6 (02:39:16):
We don't need you to do anything other than to
find out what started to fight. That's the only reason
I would send you there, because it's already out right viral.
Speaker 3 (02:39:26):
Everybody can watch it.
Speaker 6 (02:39:28):
The only thing we as local news bring to the
table is getting to the bottom of what started to fight.
Now it seems as though everybody is on one dude
and then another guy comes in to get get off
my guy here, so we could all assume, all right,
let me tell you what. Somebody was just unruly, said
something inappropriate. Everybody's discruddled because the flight's late and somebody
(02:39:50):
pops off. They don't move, you know, they went to
the bathroom, came back. Somebody's in my seat. You know
what's the deal here? Let me tell you Toppants gets
in there and gets her some hips. She does and
then she she comes back out.
Speaker 1 (02:40:01):
She chilled, kick.
Speaker 6 (02:40:03):
Hill punch doesn't even lose your wig.
Speaker 1 (02:40:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (02:40:08):
See the guy that thereby's own, he's in trouble. There
something the little kids getting involved.
Speaker 4 (02:40:14):
And then he's just kid.
Speaker 22 (02:40:16):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (02:40:16):
This guy gets in.
Speaker 7 (02:40:17):
Here's pans back.
Speaker 3 (02:40:20):
Standing.
Speaker 6 (02:40:20):
By the way, Adler, can I say, do you not
like that guy's backpack? That's pretty cool?
Speaker 4 (02:40:24):
I do the jet bomber look.
Speaker 7 (02:40:25):
I like that he's doing nothing.
Speaker 6 (02:40:28):
If nobody, if nobody covering the guy or continued to
beat on him.
Speaker 9 (02:40:32):
If nobody's detained from this fight, then I'm not really
worried about a lot, I know.
Speaker 7 (02:40:36):
I mean, I guess you.
Speaker 3 (02:40:37):
Can just run through punching people.
Speaker 4 (02:40:39):
I listened to the rest of the news package. Evidently,
by the time police showed up, they they left, this
crowd had dispersed, so no one was arrested.
Speaker 2 (02:40:48):
All right, let me think we can tell who it
is they're on camera.
Speaker 1 (02:40:51):
I just go to this right now.
Speaker 6 (02:40:52):
First of all, that I've never physically done that, but inside,
I've done it several times at an airport. I thought
to myself, I could see myself going crazy. Yeah, but
I've never done it. Back to this, I was close.
Back to this. Listen, now, give our opinions. This fight
broke out because Adler, your opinion.
Speaker 4 (02:41:12):
M ah ah might be boyfriend girlfriend stuff. Somebody said
something about somebody else's girlfriend.
Speaker 3 (02:41:20):
Okay, they know each other, they're they're flying together.
Speaker 4 (02:41:23):
They might know each other. They might know each other.
Speaker 12 (02:41:25):
Greg, I think somebody was being loud or and he
got on somebody's nerves, like maybe they had a device
and it was loud and they were totally to shut
it off.
Speaker 9 (02:41:33):
It's good, that's good, I think. I think both of
y'all it could happen. I'm going it looks like it
was crowded, very little, angry, very little seating. Someone left
to go to the bathrooms, grab a snatch, just go back.
And some dude was in their their their seat and
he said, hey, that's my seat, and he said.
Speaker 1 (02:41:56):
Yeah, you move, it's mine now.
Speaker 3 (02:41:57):
Yeah, and there we go.
Speaker 9 (02:41:59):
And in its own that's good right there, because I've
been there, you know, and there's no seats and you're like, man,
what do you see? You know, you just lean up
against poles or something.
Speaker 6 (02:42:08):
I would like to I would like to throw out
a kind of a combo of all this. I'm gonna
let you have the seat completely because I think that
stands alone and very likely. But I'm going to kind
of jump over here where Greg and Adler are. I'm
going to throw in just a family who is not
is being that they're not. They couldn't care less about
everybody else, and they're bothering people. Maybe, hey, won't you
(02:42:30):
get your kid reeled in?
Speaker 7 (02:42:32):
Uh?
Speaker 6 (02:42:32):
Something like that? Hey, can y'all be back to what
Greg said? Can y'all be quieter?
Speaker 7 (02:42:37):
Yeah? You know it's listening to like, yeah, we're all
miserable here.
Speaker 6 (02:42:41):
Yeah, and stunt or a little bit of Adler. It's
not girlfriend boyfriend trouble. I'm with my lady and somebody's
I thinks looking at her or makes a comment.
Speaker 1 (02:42:52):
Yeah, that could be that. Somewhere in that world, all
this is possible.
Speaker 8 (02:42:56):
Maybe somebody took a sip of somebody else's twelve dollars.
Speaker 3 (02:42:58):
Water, you know that.
Speaker 7 (02:43:01):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (02:43:01):
Yeah, so wait a minute, y'all went to get to night.
Speaker 6 (02:43:03):
You didn't get anything there's that could be, could be,
could be that I know speedy bit upset about.
Speaker 1 (02:43:08):
That, But so I don't know.
Speaker 6 (02:43:10):
A lot could have happened here. But somebody says, baby
daddy drama. Well nobody expected him to show up at
the airport. What about this? What are we thinking getting
on Spirit airlines? And then somebody tries to defend that decision.
Well possible, Yeah, who bought these tickets? I took care
of the sports. Yeah, I got less fine.
Speaker 3 (02:43:29):
Right, It looked like everyone initially was really focused on
one guy. Yeah, and then and then maybe friends of
that guy came in and uncover Yeah.
Speaker 6 (02:43:38):
From the text line. So there's no security at airport?
Apparently not, because that went on a good while. That
was quite a disturbance there.
Speaker 1 (02:43:45):
All right, we'll come back.
Speaker 4 (02:43:46):
Those white pants have all they can handle, you know.
Speaker 6 (02:43:49):

of his grandkids.

us the other day you were talking to one of
your grandkids. This is Pistol Pace Jones, better known as
(02:46:22):
the Incredible Hulk slash spider Man. And so you and
you joined him already in progress talking about.
Speaker 7 (02:46:32):
Say I missed the better part.
Speaker 1 (02:46:34):
Yeah, but I don't know.
Speaker 7 (02:46:36):
I mean, this is but that's what I tried to
get him going back, try to get him to repeat.
Speaker 3 (02:46:41):
It's never the same.
Speaker 6 (02:46:41):
But when he gets to the talking about if he
doesn't care for old people and and and the number
of old people at a time, and then he starts
dealing with you, and then we then he starts dealing
with me, and once we get there, I think we've
got our our outpoint at that point, yeah, because it
starts taking fa Yeah, and of course then than than anything.
Speaker 7 (02:47:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (02:47:02):
Yeah, So here here is Pace. This is one of
Greg's four grandchildren.
Speaker 7 (02:47:06):
Now we've been wrestling fighting for the past thirty minutes
before this.
Speaker 3 (02:47:09):
Yeah, really going to dial in on you.
Speaker 7 (02:47:11):
It's been punching me with whole hands.
Speaker 12 (02:47:13):
So here he goes, this is pace, Pace, tell me
about what you think about old people.
Speaker 7 (02:47:20):
Guys to you, you told me you didn't like old people.
Speaker 17 (02:47:27):
Yes and pee wow you.
Speaker 7 (02:47:30):
Said old people, not just rude people.
Speaker 3 (02:47:32):
Say you don't like old people. No, what about me?
Speaker 17 (02:47:37):
I do like you already told you that.
Speaker 7 (02:47:41):
Okay, you want to get that I'm old, but.
Speaker 17 (02:47:45):
I want why just one old people? But I don't
like five. I just like you old.
Speaker 7 (02:47:57):
Well that's very nice. What about Uncle Rick? He's old?
Speaker 17 (02:48:01):
You like him? Uncle? I think?
Speaker 14 (02:48:06):
I think when I look at Uncle what then I
think he's not gonna look.
Speaker 17 (02:48:13):
Oh. I think he does.
Speaker 7 (02:48:18):
It because he's got a beard.
Speaker 14 (02:48:20):
Uh huh, and his beard doesn't look like old.
Speaker 7 (02:48:27):
He's older than me.
Speaker 12 (02:48:39):
What he thinks I'm a lot older than you?
Speaker 17 (02:48:47):
What?
Speaker 10 (02:48:51):
Oh?
Speaker 9 (02:48:53):
Oh my goodness, Oh all that you can give him?
Speaker 7 (02:48:57):
He went on.
Speaker 3 (02:48:58):
He had told me before that that he could put
up with five old people, right, No, he couldn't with five,
He could with two.
Speaker 7 (02:49:05):
Yeah, he never got the one here in his face.
Speaker 6 (02:49:08):
He don't like five people get because that's the people
probably start making a fuss over and there's stupid of them.
Yeah what what that right there is solid gold.
Speaker 3 (02:49:18):
Yeah, I'm gonna start running cameer on all four of
them because they'll give you.
Speaker 7 (02:49:21):
Oh yeah, you know what? Oh yeah when he's there, just.
Speaker 1 (02:49:26):
Yeah, I wish something I do.
Speaker 9 (02:49:27):
I wish I just had like a GoPro up there corner,
because when you grab the phone they sometimes shut Downeah.
Speaker 7 (02:49:32):
That's the thing.
Speaker 6 (02:49:33):
It sounds like the boy is trying to say to
you that uncle rig doesn't look old.
Speaker 7 (02:49:37):
You did that pretty much.
Speaker 3 (02:49:38):
That's right, that's what I took his delivery.
Speaker 7 (02:49:40):
What but he still likes me even though I'm old.
Speaker 1 (02:49:43):
He does still like he does he does.
Speaker 4 (02:49:45):
He already told you that. In fact, he told you
that already.
Speaker 6 (02:49:52):
Can we go ahead and get that again. I mean,
I love when he's he's starting to deal with it.
He's like, well, I mean, I guess, yeah, you have
to be old, but I mean.
Speaker 17 (02:50:01):
And his beard does it look like old?
Speaker 3 (02:50:06):
Okay, well that's good.
Speaker 7 (02:50:07):
He's older than me.
Speaker 3 (02:50:23):
So out a boy, thank you to go pa.
Speaker 1 (02:50:27):
That a way to go, Pace. You know what, you
know what he is.
Speaker 3 (02:50:30):
He's state and obvious.
Speaker 1 (02:50:31):
Yeah, he's state in obvi.
Speaker 6 (02:50:33):
I had a good time at the conference this weekend
telling people that, I said, you realize I'm older than
Gred And they're like, what, you know.
Speaker 2 (02:50:40):
What?
Speaker 4 (02:50:41):
What a real job?
Speaker 7 (02:50:43):
Real job? He always does that. That's it. He always
does that.
Speaker 4 (02:50:48):
Having a real job will do that to you.
Speaker 7 (02:50:50):
Greg.
Speaker 1 (02:50:50):
And hey, buddy, also, Greg, that's just so good all
that you can get us.
Speaker 12 (02:50:55):
He told me I was too old to drive one day.
Speaker 3 (02:50:59):
We were all going on a trip in the same vehicle. Yeah,
he said, you're too old to be driving. Said okay,
so good.
Speaker 1 (02:51:07):
So uh and you know we got a big birthday
party coming up.
Speaker 12 (02:51:09):
So yeah, it's a combo. I won't I mean his
little sister. Because the birthdays are like a month apart.
People having it come twice, We're gonna have one big one.
I'm coming in wide open. I'm gonna get all for them. Sorry,
who y'all thinks older.
Speaker 7 (02:51:21):
Me or Papa? Oh yeah, I'll get Alice on my side.
You think he may turn on.
Speaker 1 (02:51:28):
ID what?
Speaker 2 (02:51:32):
Uh?
Speaker 6 (02:51:33):
Okay, Well, so we thought we'd hit all the stories
from the conference of the bones is now apparently awake. Okay,
he's uh, he's saying, I understand that you're so uh
handler dependent now that you didn't even get to the
conference with your bible.
Speaker 3 (02:51:50):
Uh no, And and you kept that one promise. That's
like going to play a football game without your helmet.
Did you forget when you announced that?
Speaker 7 (02:52:00):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (02:52:00):
I left in the truck.
Speaker 2 (02:52:01):
What what?
Speaker 7 (02:52:03):
Well, I'm at a church.
Speaker 1 (02:52:04):
There's plenty of bibles.
Speaker 3 (02:52:06):
Yeah, And thank you Alex there at First Baptist Panama
City for going and getting me his personal bobble. Some
really good notes in there too, by the way, but
you left again, Yeah, he forgot where you Yeah, let's
walk that when I got back to him before we
left you not without a little help.
Speaker 1 (02:52:22):
I left.
Speaker 9 (02:52:23):
And thank you to the folks that worked out. They
were they were great. They helped you find the right guy, right, Alex. Right,
and Alex, you just left it in the break the
green room, Alex.
Speaker 1 (02:52:33):
I want you to know some of your notes have
some good stuff.
Speaker 7 (02:52:36):
I like that. He's even got sticky notes in there.
Speaker 2 (02:52:39):
What why?
Speaker 17 (02:52:41):
Why?
Speaker 3 (02:52:43):
All right, we'll be back.
Speaker 6 (02:52:46):
It's uh more of the Rick Burgess show coming up,
and we'll get more of your phone.
Speaker 3 (02:52:51):
Calls maybe before we're done. But also we'll got the
stories to cover too, as The Rick Burgess Show continues
right after this.
Speaker 5 (02:53:00):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Sure he played a
(02:53:21):
little ball, Rick Burgess.
Speaker 1 (02:53:27):
I played a little ball.
Speaker 3 (02:53:28):
I love him.
Speaker 6 (02:53:29):
One of the text lines today somebody said they made
some catch and what a softball game we was talking about.
He made a catch and he was out there, you know,
everybody met a pretty good catch.
Speaker 7 (02:53:40):
And he said the slope pitch softball.
Speaker 3 (02:53:42):
People were just staring at him. He turned around and said, yeah,
I played a little ball.
Speaker 1 (02:53:48):
Okay. So also I.
Speaker 6 (02:53:51):
Had a good chime over the weekend, getting Wingo, who
played middle linebacker for the Green Bay Packers, people talking
to him about seventy five.
Speaker 7 (02:53:57):
Yeah, he just.
Speaker 3 (02:53:59):
Loves the year was nineteen eighty two. We can go
the year was nineteen eighty one. You were facing the
Chicago Bears. I was taking on Sacks high school.
Speaker 7 (02:54:10):
All right.
Speaker 6 (02:54:11):
So he's like, oh, somebody please here, please Brody coming
over to mister Wingo.
Speaker 3 (02:54:18):
It's forty two years ago. It's Friday night in September.
Speaker 6 (02:54:21):
There's a coach somewhere saying, what Lego screaming, do not
do this, and Brody looks at him.
Speaker 7 (02:54:26):
He goes, what we're gonna do about seventy five?
Speaker 3 (02:54:29):
I love you said that, Sherry forbids any of the kids.
Speaker 7 (02:54:31):
Nobody can do it, and now Wingo's trying to do it.
Speaker 6 (02:54:33):
Yeah, yeah, you think Walter Pagan, Walter Pagan was something
should have gone and gets the trade school guy's son.
Speaker 7 (02:54:42):
He was tough.
Speaker 6 (02:54:43):
He was tough as nails. All right, So let's take
a look. See we now have more. I mean, it's
not gonna be as precious as what we just saw
one pistol pace Jones. But Athers says, there's a video
that's circulating right now involving maybe middle school kids, possibly
junior high younger, I don't know, and they're singing David
David Allan Coles the ride sitting in the back of
(02:55:05):
the truckey that owns me.
Speaker 8 (02:55:08):
So we see so much stuff on the Internet of
like people doing bad things for attention and people, you know,
you know what I'm saying, people the fighting and so
many plane crashes, so many things go viral that are
are not uplifting.
Speaker 4 (02:55:23):
I saw this online. I'm like, this is the greatest
video I've ever seen. And it's just two guys being dudes,
you know, young guys.
Speaker 8 (02:55:34):
They're sitting on the back of a flatbed truck to
redneck kids love.
Speaker 3 (02:55:38):
The world needs more redneck kids, Yes, And.
Speaker 4 (02:55:40):
They're drinking Doctor Pepper's and they're having time.
Speaker 28 (02:55:43):
So homemade speaker and a flat man Baby, let's get it.
So let's get it, sott it shut down and.
Speaker 2 (02:55:54):
Turn on the radio.
Speaker 21 (02:55:57):
Side, Oh, songs coming out of this pickers, this solid country.
Speaker 1 (02:56:01):
Go, Let's get it, get it, get it.
Speaker 3 (02:56:08):
And I noticed be nice, Greg, I saw you laan back.
Speaker 4 (02:56:14):
That was going back, just kids being kids.
Speaker 3 (02:56:17):
Man's great. Like all you can see is their boots.
Speaker 4 (02:56:19):
Yeah, their boots in their diet.
Speaker 3 (02:56:21):
You know.
Speaker 6 (02:56:21):
Somebody came up right when they were singing, said, you
know that Rick Burgess is older than Greg Burgess.
Speaker 3 (02:56:25):
And they said, what what what shut what? Let's get it.
Speaker 1 (02:56:30):
Let's get it shine.
Speaker 28 (02:56:31):
Homemade speakers, homemade speaker and a flat man baby classic,
get it shut down.
Speaker 17 (02:56:41):
In the front seat, turn on the radio.
Speaker 1 (02:56:44):
What's coming out boys?
Speaker 3 (02:56:46):
Them sad old songs coming out of them speakers, this
solid country go.
Speaker 9 (02:56:52):
But you think their age, that speaker, that song, what
they're drinking where they're sitting there thinking, well, life doesn't
get better.
Speaker 6 (02:57:01):
There's if we had more kids growing up like that,
this place wouldn't be so weird.
Speaker 1 (02:57:07):
Yes, tell me, y'all don't have weird kids. They're too weird.
Speaker 4 (02:57:11):
Thank you.
Speaker 8 (02:57:11):
Speaking of some weird kids, here's some guys being dudes
on a podcast and they're just such children.
Speaker 4 (02:57:17):
It's hilarious.
Speaker 8 (02:57:18):
I don't know who set these seventh graders up to
record a conversation, but uh, you guys.
Speaker 4 (02:57:24):
Want to check this out? Yeah? Sure, seventh grader.
Speaker 3 (02:57:26):
They're really doing a podcast.
Speaker 4 (02:57:27):
Straight out seventh grade boys doing a podcast.
Speaker 1 (02:57:30):
What's your favorite?
Speaker 22 (02:57:31):
I'm just a If I had to choose, it's probably
be like pepperoni. But I'm not a big I'm not
a big I'm just a regular cheese guy.
Speaker 20 (02:57:40):
I just do cheese. I don't I don't do I
just do cheese. I don't really like pepperoni. It's a
weird taste blue pepperoni. But saying thing like, yeah, a
lot of people are big pepperoni fans.
Speaker 4 (02:57:51):
I think meatlovers do meat lovers.
Speaker 22 (02:57:53):
I'm not a big fan of it. I'm not a
big fan of like the sausage in general.
Speaker 20 (02:57:57):
Out there how to meat lovers.
Speaker 3 (02:58:01):
Okay, I cannot make fun of this. That's the show.
That's our show.
Speaker 4 (02:58:04):
That's our show.
Speaker 1 (02:58:07):
You know.
Speaker 6 (02:58:07):
I've noticed that what what happened to a generation of
people who only eat cheese pizza? I've noticed that, you know,
like you you ever go to a big gathering of
like a youth deal or whatever at church and the
and they all eat just cheese.
Speaker 12 (02:58:21):
I don't hate cheese pizza, thin crust, but those some pepperoni, Yeah, pepperoni.
Speaker 4 (02:58:28):
Yes, and burn it, don't burn it.
Speaker 8 (02:58:30):
But you know what I mean, we're now doing We're
now doing there.
Speaker 4 (02:58:35):
That's fine. Kids, I'm still that person.
Speaker 7 (02:58:37):
Oh yeah sure.
Speaker 3 (02:58:39):
And uh, they're a big fan of regular cheese.
Speaker 6 (02:58:43):
Guy, I love the honesty of I think pepperoni has
a funny taste. I wish those kids would interview the
two kids in the back of the truck.
Speaker 1 (02:58:52):
That's something.
Speaker 3 (02:58:52):
Let's get it, son, let's get it.
Speaker 6 (02:58:56):
So also, we some other things that we still need
to cover today on the program. And uh, it's quite
a shift, but some of some of the other things
that were that we haven't gotten to today, did you
did y'all?
Speaker 3 (02:59:10):
See?
Speaker 6 (02:59:10):
And people were talking about it on on video five
there Ander, So people kept putting this out. I want
to be sure I had this this right. But with
all this it's been going on, you know, with the
in the Middle East, and now I'm understanding that in
a shocker that now some of Hamas is not going
to follow through what they said. Now does everybody remember
(02:59:32):
when the Israelis took out the Hesbala leader?
Speaker 1 (02:59:36):
Do you remember that?
Speaker 6 (02:59:37):
And they did that by bombing him, you know, with
the the very precise and advanced weapons on their fighter jets.
And so apparently they were getting around to mourning this
Hesbalah leader in Beirut and the Israelis sent those sent
(02:59:58):
their fighter jets right over it, like like a football
game is about to start. Fly over while they're morning
the leader that they killed with these jips.
Speaker 3 (03:00:06):
Oh my, hey, this is how easy, right, well, this
is how easy we could do it again. So so
watch this. Look at this big model.
Speaker 8 (03:00:14):
Wow, it's a stadium full of Sheites people and they're saying.
Speaker 1 (03:00:17):
Oh, how about that right there? Just that one guy.
Speaker 3 (03:00:29):
Look at his face over here, this.
Speaker 6 (03:00:32):
Guy, Yeah, at one point everybody wants to be defined
about and he kind of.
Speaker 7 (03:00:36):
Looks like Wow, that was right over.
Speaker 3 (03:00:43):
I got amusing by him.
Speaker 1 (03:00:44):
The area is right there. I'm gonna sit down. I
just flew that right over a whole lot we can.
Speaker 3 (03:00:52):
Do right over, he would hired him. Go yes, So
am I hearing?
Speaker 4 (03:00:57):
Back over?
Speaker 6 (03:00:58):
Back over to hamas am I hearing? Now they're not
They're starting to back pedal on some stuff.
Speaker 7 (03:01:03):
They promise you.
Speaker 9 (03:01:04):
They've been kind of doing a little bit of that,
and Okay, we'll do this. No, we won't do that,
And I think everybody's about to go Okay, that's it.
Speaker 6 (03:01:11):
Uh six seed. We also we now know on six Sea.
By the way, we were talking to the pilot's Friday
about this. I mean we were asking real pilots, so
what do y'all think happened? And they they all seem
to be in the school of hey, she she came
down way too hot.
Speaker 3 (03:01:30):
Oh wait, way too hot on that runway.
Speaker 6 (03:01:33):
So here is the pilot behind the dramatic delta crash.
We now know the one that flipped upside down in Toronto.
So here here we now have identified who this person is.
Speaker 8 (03:01:44):
So yeah, she's a twenty six year old Kendall Swanson.
Speaker 3 (03:01:49):
Canceled Swan Swanson so, I mean, that's so.
Speaker 4 (03:01:53):
We were making jokes about it being a woman, but
it turns out we were right.
Speaker 3 (03:01:58):
Well, she really did.
Speaker 6 (03:01:59):
Now that you look at it, you know, if you
don't know a whole lot about landings or whatever, you
look at that go oh man, what happened. But if
you now that you really know, hey, no, this is
what happened. Boy, she does come in hot. Yeah, yeah,
I mean, I mean, look out, it's just dropping out
of the air and then and then so it collapses
all the year and then knocks the wing off and
then they flip and slide. Talking to the pilots that
(03:02:21):
we got to talk to over the weekend, they said
that she probably, you know, not being all that experienced,
that she was very concerned about the conditions and she
was trying to get the plane down quick to give
her maximum runway.
Speaker 7 (03:02:34):
Yeah, to get it stopped because.
Speaker 6 (03:02:36):
Of the snow and the ice and everything. And he said,
and they were like, well, the only problem with that
is you still have to sit it down normal, normal,
because if you don't, the landing year can't take the
pressure of coming in too hot. And but they think
that that was her mindset, that she got a little
panicky about.
Speaker 3 (03:02:55):
Hey, I need all the runway I can get. I
want to get this thing down quick.
Speaker 6 (03:02:59):
And she almost like she's landing on an aircraft carrier,
which you can't do, you know, because the aircraft carrier,
you know, that's designed those those plans are designed for that. Yeah,
you know, but she's coming on down, I mean, just bam.
Speaker 7 (03:03:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:03:14):
And unfortunately nobody got hurt.
Speaker 7 (03:03:16):
I mean, I know, well, thank goodness.
Speaker 9 (03:03:18):
There was a lot of there was a lot of
talk about thirty thousand dollars over the weekend. Yeah about
I think I would take thirty thousand, you know, from everybody.
Speaker 3 (03:03:26):
But then because we asked the question, yea, would you know, when.
Speaker 6 (03:03:29):
You survive, would you take thirty grand because that was
as payoff our suggestion to everyone, most everybody said if
I'm not gonna get hurt, and it's gonna be scary,
but I'm taking it.
Speaker 7 (03:03:40):
I'm upside down in the seat felt Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (03:03:44):
That's a terrifying moment.
Speaker 6 (03:03:45):
Now you're done with flying for a while, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 7 (03:03:49):
And everybody keeps danying to get back on the horse.
Speaker 1 (03:03:50):
You're like, we'll be right back.
Speaker 5 (03:03:56):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 3 (03:04:15):
Right here we go. Thanks for being with us as
we work our way back.
Speaker 6 (03:04:21):
All right, So, uh, we've hit a lot today, so
be sure to catch that in the archives.
Speaker 1 (03:04:26):
There's already building up on things we'll be doing tomorrow.
But we have a little bit.
Speaker 6 (03:04:32):
And I know this was a big story over the
weekend too, involving Trump. So this thing with him in
the the governor of Maine, what what has caused all this?
I know she's way out there and far left and
(03:04:53):
and all that, and so we've got the story where
he I mean, face to face, and she is one
of these that just will not can't seem to wrap
her mind around the obvious logical problem with biological males
(03:05:14):
competing against biological females.
Speaker 3 (03:05:15):
I don't even think we have to revisit that.
Speaker 6 (03:05:17):
Let's just say she doesn't agree with us, and let's
watch this interaction with her and Trump.
Speaker 7 (03:05:23):
So here we go.
Speaker 10 (03:05:24):
The NCAA has complied immediately, by the way. That's good.
But I understand Maine is the main here.
Speaker 1 (03:05:31):
The governor of man Oh, here we go.
Speaker 29 (03:05:34):
Are you not going to comply with it? Well, we
are the federal law. Well you better do it. You
better do it because you're not going to get any
federal funding at all if you don't. And by the way,
your population, even though it's somewhat liberal, although I did
very well there, your population.
Speaker 10 (03:05:51):
Doesn't want men playing in women's sports.
Speaker 29 (03:05:54):
So you better you better comply because otherwise you're not
getting any any federal funding.
Speaker 10 (03:06:00):
State. Good. I'll see you could. I look forward to that.
That should be a really easy one.
Speaker 29 (03:06:05):
Well, and enjoy your life after governor, because I don't
think you'll be in elected politics.
Speaker 3 (03:06:10):
Are you okay, speedy? Are you okay?
Speaker 1 (03:06:12):
Speedy?
Speaker 3 (03:06:12):
Are you okay?
Speaker 1 (03:06:16):
Wow?
Speaker 3 (03:06:20):
Well?
Speaker 7 (03:06:20):
Oh man.
Speaker 8 (03:06:22):
Janet Mills is the super lib governor of Maine. Here
she is performing at a Portland drag show in some
kind of weird costume.
Speaker 6 (03:06:32):
I don't know what your governor, you know, you know,
no matter how you feel about these topics as a governor,
you shouldn't do that at anything. You know, you shouldn't
be dressed like that out acting that way at anything,
no matter.
Speaker 1 (03:06:47):
What it is.
Speaker 7 (03:06:49):
I mean, So, how you feeling?
Speaker 1 (03:06:51):
How do you feel?
Speaker 7 (03:06:51):
Right?
Speaker 1 (03:06:52):
Okay, buddy?
Speaker 9 (03:06:52):
I was really uncomfortable and and and what was so uncomfortable,
you are right, was not only the back and forth
but the people that were sitting around.
Speaker 3 (03:07:00):
Them, the way they felt. They started like looking down
at the table, like I don't really know where to look,
what to do.
Speaker 6 (03:07:05):
Here's what I wish so bad, Here's what I wish
so bad. I wish I was sitting at a table.
I guess you know, Speedy's the governor of Mississippi and
I'm the governor of Alabama, and We're sitting next to
each other at the table. The moment that I would
have loved, I would immediately turned it Speedy is when
he said, is the governor main here? When that when
that started, you would have been what would you have done?
Speaker 3 (03:07:27):
I don't really know.
Speaker 7 (03:07:29):
Well, you're you're kind of in a position where you
can't do a whole lot.
Speaker 3 (03:07:32):
You're just stuck at the table.
Speaker 1 (03:07:33):
I mean, what do you do?
Speaker 7 (03:07:35):
Where do you go and intimate? Yeah, you know that's well.
Speaker 9 (03:07:39):
Also, don't understand, don't forget too that the blatant disrespect.
I mean that's the president of the United States and
the governor thinks that, you know, Hey, no, I can
do whatever I want and see you in court. Yeah,
see you in court. And it's just it's sad.
Speaker 3 (03:07:52):
Let's say, let's watch Speedy one more time.
Speaker 1 (03:07:54):
Okay, come on from what I want to.
Speaker 10 (03:07:58):
Look like immediately.
Speaker 29 (03:07:59):
By the way, that's good, but I understand Maine is
the main here, the governor.
Speaker 7 (03:08:03):
Going, oh gosh, I wis why did you ask that?
Speaker 29 (03:08:06):
Are you not going to comply with it? Well, i'm
we are the federal law. Well you better do it.
You better do it because you're not going to get
any federal funding at all if you don't. And by
the way, your population, even though it's somewhat liberal, although
I did very well there, your population doesn't want men
playing in women's sports. Speed you better you better comply
(03:08:27):
because otherwise you're not getting any any federal funding.
Speaker 1 (03:08:30):
I wish you were there every state.
Speaker 10 (03:08:32):
Good, I'll see you and could I look forward to that?
That should be a really easy one.
Speaker 7 (03:08:35):
Oh Speedy, I'm so from you.
Speaker 29 (03:08:37):
Your life after governor, because I don't think you'll be
an elected politics.
Speaker 1 (03:08:41):
Oh wow.
Speaker 6 (03:08:42):
All right, So on the text line, this is how
absurd the science of all this is. Okay, and we're
always told to follow the sciences up here. As a
liberal who enjoys the show even though they disagree with
us politically, as a liberal, I have no album with
the person living how they want to live all caps. Now, however,
(03:09:04):
I do not believe biological males should compete against biological females.
Speaker 1 (03:09:10):
It's absurd. It is in this liberal is like, you know,
sensible saying.
Speaker 6 (03:09:15):
Now, I do believe that trans people ought to be
able to live their lives how they want to, and
I agree with that in their own I may disagree
with that, and there may be all kinds, but they
I don't want anybody to you know, be rounded up
or anything like.
Speaker 1 (03:09:27):
That just because.
Speaker 6 (03:09:28):
But but there's still limits to what we can and
can do on all of us.
Speaker 8 (03:09:32):
Yes, and I can't play with girls in high school
because I'm an adult man.
Speaker 7 (03:09:37):
Right.
Speaker 3 (03:09:37):
Did you see the one?
Speaker 6 (03:09:38):
And I know we had kind of warned the topic out,
so I didn't go to it because it did sound stranger.
Speaker 4 (03:09:45):
I'm trying to defend women, Greg, I'm defending women here.
Speaker 6 (03:09:48):
But did you see And I know you had the
other day at or and I didn't go to it
because I was like, you know, we've made this point,
we've been labored this point. But now that this has
been brought up today, First of all, I agree with
you that are saying, you know, it's good to have
a present with the backbone. But the watching this latest
and I don't even know what level is high school, junior,
high whatever, This biological male that's dominating women's basketball.
Speaker 4 (03:10:11):
Yeah, did you just show that it's California high school?
Speaker 14 (03:10:15):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (03:10:16):
Just look at how tall?
Speaker 1 (03:10:17):
Yeah and person?
Speaker 6 (03:10:20):
Yeah yeah, the boy right there that that's a male
and and and dominating women's basketball on both both ends
of the But of course if you if you put
him in a men's basketball league, he would he would
be not a non factor, right and and and look
and it's just and I don't know how any team feels.
Speaker 4 (03:10:39):
Rebound shot, rebound shot and a make right too easy?
Speaker 6 (03:10:45):
How does anybody look look at this? I mean, I mean,
how how can it? What if your daughter was all
excited about her basketball team and and she's worked so
hard and gets out there and there's a tall, biological
male that just tells the world that I'm a female
and gets out there and dominates the game.
Speaker 7 (03:11:05):
I just why is anybody okay with that?
Speaker 8 (03:11:08):
Women and children are a protected class and they just
get different, have a different set of rules, they have
different they have their own spaces, and that's how the
world should operate right, And like you said, nobody's calling
for adult trans people to be hurt or harmed or
injured or rounded up or anything.
Speaker 4 (03:11:26):
You do your weird thing, but make us do it
and leave the kids out of it.
Speaker 3 (03:11:32):
Well, I just could really watch that video and go,
I don't see anything wrong with that.
Speaker 7 (03:11:35):
I mean, he doesn't have an advantage. He just scored every.
Speaker 3 (03:11:37):
Point right up and down, up and down.
Speaker 6 (03:11:39):
Well, I would say this one of the big points is,
like I've said before, I don't know how a biological male,
at least Bruce Jenner understands this. Yeah, certainly lives his
life as a woman, he does all that, But he says,
but when it comes to competition, I'm not delusional. I
know that I'm biologically a man, so I could dominate
(03:12:00):
nate women in golf and things like that.
Speaker 7 (03:12:02):
So I don't do that.
Speaker 3 (03:12:03):
At least he acknowledges that, and so.
Speaker 7 (03:12:06):
He's qualified to have an opinion.
Speaker 1 (03:12:08):
Yeah, So I don't know.
Speaker 6 (03:12:09):
But but the thing with the governor of Maine, that
was that was a doozy right there. And can you
just imagine how upsetting that that was? That that woman
will will lose her mind?
Speaker 3 (03:12:19):
Oh yeah, And just got called out at the little
Was it a.
Speaker 1 (03:12:22):
Lunch or something?
