Speaker 2 (01:51):
Country Junction, Tennessee's ready.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
Fourteen Alabama, the Homo Supergroup Alabama ready? We also well,
I will say this if I could just speak freely.
We're working on it. But here at Team Rick Burgess show,
we're ready. Uh, there's we have some equipment that that is.
It isn't ready. I've been doing this a long time.
(02:17):
All of us have been doing a long time. I've
been doing it a super long time, about four decades.
And I'm telling you I'll never been able to explain it,
and maybe we need to do it on an episode
of Strange Encounters. Okay, I'm telling you that there's something
to it. If you leave on a Friday and it's
(02:39):
just a regular weekend, you got problems on Monday, you
take a three day weekend, you're gonna come back to monsters.
And I don't I don't know why that is. I
don't know if equipment being you know, not get you
break the rhythm of what the equipment and the memories
are all accustomed to. You know, Coach, you do a
(03:00):
different schedule, I really you try to run you know,
best of shows. Maybe that throws the equipment off. I
really don't know. As we become more and more automated
in this industry, you've lost so much control because you've
become so dependent on these brilliant computers and now this
(03:24):
AI stuff. But buddy, when it decides to act up
trying to troubleshoot, yeah, it's rare, but you know the
old days when it was all hands on. Yeah, but
now when you troubleshoot something that is so complex but
yet many times so wonderful, it's an uphill climb. So
Speedy is dealing with that right now. YouTubers, you're fine
(03:47):
tuned in out people. I think you're fine. You know, Birmingham,
you're good. So but as far as the rest of
the terrestrial network, they're dead in the water right now.
And you're getting probably getting an old show being played
right now if you're a feeling even got that done.
Speaker 6 (04:02):
Because it's like the you know, the tech grembling gremlins, yep,
the computer gremlins that come in.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
It's like two days is long enough.
Speaker 6 (04:11):
For them to do a little bit of mischief, but like,
for some reason, three days is like enough time for
them to just go nuts.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
And what really bothers me is we're action packed today.
Actions I'm talking about action packed the next four days.
Where are we back? All right? Speedy said, we're fixed
testing one two for the next work. Is everybody here,
show me Text Nation, y'all haven't been impacted. Y'all come
(04:39):
in hot. By the way, the text Nation is already
showing me what we're gonna get out of Alabama today.
I just saw. I mean, there are so many texts
right now. I've seen coach de Bores, real estate agent.
I have come on, let me tell you something. And
(05:00):
Dickie n Admire, if he'll speak to us today, I
think he wants to. You know, sometimes he's reluctant after
a loss, Speedy says, this time he's so mad. I
think he's ready. Now, look he's gonna it's gonna be
scorched earth. Yeah, I mean, and of course we saw
his son. Yeah we did, boy, Yeah, that you know live.
(05:21):
You know a lot of you who don't know the
Nadmire's family, A lot of you are confusing that one.
You remember, he's got two that are old enough they're
out and well wherever they are. But this one is
it's not the daughter who's the youngest, but it's the
youngest son that was named after Dickie. That's actually Dicky
do Richard n Admire the second Yes, sure, yeah, so
(05:43):
so anyway, but he got on TV, and I know,
I know Dicky's excited about that, but are probably proud
of him because he because he spoke from the for
the Crimson Tied Nation, they held the camera on him
just a little too long. I've never seen such a
prominent I've never seen such a prominent bird in primetime
football my life. Uh, clutching a Michelo ultra the other hand, Yeah,
(06:05):
that's the only time I thought it wasn't Dicky. So
when I saw it was an ultra him. Yeah, somebody
must have given him that.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
Ricky can't drink but light anymore. So that's true. He's
trying to be healthy, right, He's trying to do a
little bit healthy, trying to do a little better. But
he spoke for the entire the entire fambo. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (06:24):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
But the look he's kept that came on him long enough,
that that look, that that look, that was such a
it was such a you know, people a lot of
times can shoot birds and it's not it's not heartfelt
that that bird came from the heart.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
It did.
Speaker 4 (06:44):
Good.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
I felt him being involved in football songs. We have
what these teams can do to you. I have felt
the same way so many times he felt that way
a little bit Friday night. Yeah, yah, just take your
heart and crush it, just stump it. Uh so so well, unpacked,
(07:05):
we know a lot about a little bit. I mean
it's opening weekend. Uh, we'll talk about college football a
little bit. Yes, Dicky nadmirer will be here, but let
me let me talk to you. I have a big
announcement today that Speedy's gonna be thrilled with and he
needs some good news. Frankly, and mister Chen's alive. We
were already preparing the funeral. Uh you were, Adler, You
you came in and you were shocked at his movement.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
Was I was so shocked and I came in.
Speaker 6 (07:31):
I was celebrating, like Chen's alive, hooray, hooray. And I'm
looking around and wondering why you guys aren't like dancing
with me? Right? And I go, yeah, Chen's alive, and
you go, yeah, but the show might not be right and.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
We were sacrificed it chok the air out of the
chin celebration.
Speaker 6 (07:47):
It really took the air out of that.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
Oh wait a second, right, Well, can I tell you
that Greg and I celebrated earlier before you got here.
So we got a little celebration, even though I was
already planning how I was going to work. You know what,
I'm thankful he didn't die this week because we've got
too much to do already.
Speaker 3 (08:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
Right, if you'll wait next week, i'd be perfect, that
would be better.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
What day is Larry coming?
Speaker 1 (08:09):
I'd be thirsty.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
So he's coming thirsty.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
And guess who's coming to be here with him? Gary
and Larry. Oh. Gary does not want to come, but
yesterday I talked him into it and he said, well,
I'll come up here and mate this guy you know
for the show. Well, thanks, Gary, he's scary. So he's
coming Thursday, and so we'll have one to get into
the busy. Let me say we've got Nadmire today, okay,
(08:32):
and all the recap of that. We've got Andy Andrews
back on Wednesday, and he's been gone for about a month.
He's back on Wednesday. We got Gary and Larry on Thursday.
We got Vox Seats today, Vox Seats again Friday. Guys,
there's a lot to cram into the next four days.
And uh, I mean there's a lot going on.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
Short week, short.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
Will So if Chen dies this week, I don't know
how we get his funeral in the way it should be. Well, yeah,
he's going to wait, you know what, someone will have
to freeze him. I will I will credit an emailer
over the long weekend that said, if y'all replace him,
his replacements should be double chin, which is funny and
they good. Our audience is very clever. Uh. So we
(09:17):
saw a lot of you over the weekend. We've we've
been you know, a lot of encouragement out there. Uh,
we got a new Strange Encounters that came out over
the weekend, and new Ricking Bubba's Greatest Hits in Radio
Gold came out over the weekend. So I mean, we're
we're just We're just we're just hitting on all cylinders. Now,
(09:37):
we came in and had a had a satellite issue.
Now there's no doubt that happened. Yeah, but but but
but I think it sounds like Speedy's ironed it out. Now.
I would like for Speedy to sit down, calmly and
start talking into the mic. That would reassure me. Moore
said we're back, but yet he said we're back, but
he's still in there. Does that concern you all a
little bit. Okay, so so we'll looks like we're everything's
(10:01):
rolling now we that's good. So thank you Text Nation,
y'all really have come out just wide over all there
loaded right. No, Adler has not replaced Chim because this one,
frankly is not lively enough. If it was more lively,
I would I would accuse him of that.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
You can document his decline.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
Yeah, clearly, I'm.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
Glad to hear the show is actually out on the air.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
So that's good and is alive. Yeah, I have some
good news for you. What's that? Do you want some
good news? I do?
Speaker 3 (10:34):
I need it?
Speaker 1 (10:34):
Okay, there is a storage building indicator that is now empty. No,
it's I'm surproud of you. What it over? It's done?
Speaker 7 (10:48):
Yea into detail? No, I blink twice?
Speaker 1 (10:51):
And where chairs were? Goodding? Now? Yeah, the table and
here's what happened. So here's what happened. Sherry Burgess, the
love of my life. She and I both we we
run at a pretty good clip our lives. One of
the things that I have talked about then we both
have talked about this is our lives are so full
(11:16):
and we and we like it that way. But the
problem is it rarely allows for any windows for things
like this. You know that you need to have some
places in your schedule where something's broke, something needs to
be Hey, we need to go do this. That was unexpected.
One of the things that we struggle with a lot
is usually our schedule this stay is completely full all
(11:37):
the time, you know, and we take time to rest
just on normal days. But you know what I mean,
a project like this, you got to say we needed
we got to devote something to this, you know, and
we rarely have that. So I do think that it
still served a purpose because we had not decided what
we were going to do with it. But what happened, and
it was beautiful, and I'm so thankful for the first
(12:01):
part of this. My wife, Guys, I mean, I'm welling
up with tears on what Sherry did. First. She said,
I know that you don't want to go handle this
on Saturday with all the football starting, and she goes,
I'm not gonna put that on you, and I couldn't
believe I was hearing, and she said, you just enjoy
(12:23):
your day watching football. I'm gonna take the truck and
I'm gonna go get the chairs. What so that's because
they were just the chair there was there was too
much there for a pickup truck renting a truck. There
really almost wasn't enough to warrant a rental truck. But
you're like, well, we can't get it all, and I
kept telling her, well, there's no way to get it
on one trip, which there wasn't. So she went and
(12:45):
she got the chairs and she you know, I got
all the research. The problem we had on a lot
of it, which was confusing, is that my aunt when
she just kind of asked me to take it over,
and God lover, she needed the help.
Speaker 3 (13:04):
It was.
Speaker 1 (13:04):
It became a hybrid. They still had things in her name.
There was a little few things in my name. Then
they had the email from the Rick and Bubba show.
They didn't have my new email, so it really was convoluted.
And even trying to get to it after you and
I had a year ago checked it out, you know,
because think about it, then I was still using the
old email address, so my account was not current. They
(13:27):
had my aunt's cell phone, not mine. Like for messaging,
say the gatecoade to get in, well, they would send
that to my aunt's phone. My aunt is in assisted Living.
Now you know what I mean I mean. And I'm like, well, guys,
you're not sending it. Well, we don't have you. That's
the phone number we have. I said, well, when I
changed it into my name, y'all didn't take my phone number.
(13:49):
And you can't get anybody on the phone that's local.
You're talking to the company, and then the AI wants
to talk to you, and you're like, well, I said
to the AI, fake person, appreciate you your incredible technology.
No way, this conversation is gonna work. I need a person.
Well then you get a person. Well, a person's not there.
Now what location? Tappity tap, tappity tap? What location? Tabbity tap,
(14:11):
tabbity tap. Oh indicator Alabama. We have three locations. I
know that. I'm telling you it's this one because I
went to look on the American Express card. This is
the address. It says you're swiping m.
Speaker 5 (14:23):
M.
Speaker 1 (14:24):
You don't want to hear. And then finally, finally that's
when we found they said what what what email do
you have? And I gave the email. I said, let
me try something. Do you have Rick at Rickinbubba dot com?
Speaker 8 (14:37):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (14:37):
Yeah, here it is, So you have an old email,
my aunt's cell phone number, and and and they gave
me partially my name, not full. And I'm like, well
that's it. And then I had to produce the card
number and all that to get all that. And then finally,
so Sherry left out on Saturday. That result with the
gate code, okay, with the location the key, I found
(15:00):
the keys to the lock. Yeah, you're right. It was
in my glove compartment, that's what.
Speaker 5 (15:04):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (15:07):
So she goes and putting, she goes, she goes, comes
back with the chairs, and she looks at and she said,
you ready to get this thing off our plate? Yes,
she goes, well, now you're gonna have to be willing
to Labor day. We're going back. And I said, I
don't have any plans for Labor Day, and she said,
that's the only way we get this done. So Labor
(15:29):
Day we got up, had our breakfast, and we went
back and got the rest of it. You put it
in the truck, so we have taken it. Took two
loads in the pickup truck. How about that? And it's
now in the garage where it'll stay forever and always
be in the way. That's what I see it say,
I said, the good thing you no longer paying frame
storage being but you do have a table and all
(15:49):
that in your The good news is I have saved that.
I've saved that money that was serving a purpose and
given me a service. So hey, good news, I've saved
two hundred something bucks a month. But I now can't
use my gruge, you know. So it's all great. Yeah,
worked out and you got to drive over on Labor
Day and get it. Yeah, it had to be a joy.
And my favorite, my favorite is Surey keeps thinking that
(16:11):
one of our sons wants this stuff, and I'm like, baby,
I think he's just telling you that to be nice. Yeah. No, no,
you know, when Brooks, you know, stops having an apartment
and he gets his first house, he wants this. I'm like, baby, yeah,
I don't think anybody wants this. And it'll be nostalgic though,
to have these tables for these chairs for Thanksgiving. And
(16:32):
I think maybe that little China cab that could go
down to camp House. I'm like that, can't think, can't
go to camp House. Well, we're gonna put pictures of
all the guys in it. Yeah, a lot of choices
when it comes to cell phone service. New one's popping
up all the time. It's almost like you hear when
you're like, what is this another one when named after
(16:55):
an insect. But here's the truth. There's only one that
boldly stands in the gap for every American that believes
that freedom's worth fighting for, and that's Patriot Mobile. The
good news is you can switch to Patriot Mobile today
without sacrificing any quality or any service. If you're worried
(17:15):
about coverage, let's not worry about that anymore. Patriot Mobile
uses all three major networks, and if you have service
in this country today, you'll have it as good are
better coverage with Patriot Mobile. If you think switching is
a hassle one of my concerns, of course, but it wasn't.
It's not. You can keep your number, keep your phone,
(17:36):
or upgrade. Patriot Mobiles on US based team will get
you activated in minutes from the comfort of your own home.
If you're stuck in a contract or your old money
on phones, don't worry about that. Patriot Mobile has a
contract buyout program. They'll solve that too. This is how
we win, folks, aligning and spending you know, money where
(17:57):
your values are honored and kept, not rejected. Every dollar
we spend matters. So go to Patriotmobile dot com slash
rick are called nine to seven to two Patriot. Use
the promo code rick and get a free month of service.
Switch today. Couldn't be simpler. That's Patriotmobile dot com slash
(18:18):
rick are called nine to seven to two Patriot Today.
I know college football really launched this past weekend all
you could stand and the other thing is an admire
(18:40):
we will hear from him today. I think speedy out
you were in the middle of our technical nightmare that
got our week started, and I said this. I want
you to correct me if I'm wrong. Okay, I said
a lot of times we have to pursue him after
a loss. He almost seems like, no, I want own
today he's he wants to vent. Yeah, I knew it.
(19:02):
It's not happy. It could be ugly. Do you all agree? Yeah,
So he's he's coming on and so that that and
and I don't think we have to pursue him. I
think he, like you said he.
Speaker 7 (19:15):
I thought he got to say that when he was
leaving Tallahassee and he was not happy.
Speaker 2 (19:21):
Sometimes you got events you don't you know, blow right.
Speaker 1 (19:25):
Well said so excited about Chen. So looking back over
over the weekend, Yeah, uh, what did we see? I
mean we we we saw Greg and I had some
high school action on Friday night watching that game, my nephew,
(19:47):
Greg's son, and the coaching staff and the team, and
I will tell you it was it just seems football
it'll just it'll just take your life from I mean
just a you're so happy, then you're so sad. And
I love I love my nephew Greg. I know you
love your son. But but but there's that thing where
(20:09):
we just we can't quite get away, can we. I mean,
there's there's always somebody holding us there, you know, And
then about the time that you have got this figured out,
your grandkids will start playing or something, because you think,
to yourself, there's a freedom. And I'm I'm being completely serious.
I'm not saying this because I'm trying to protect luxury,
he says, little Rick Rick's heart or whatever. I honestly
(20:32):
have let football go, Okay, I don't. I don't live
and die by how teams do. Unless I find myself
somebody out there on that field is dear to me,
and I want to see their team do well, okay,
And then when that starts happening, I look, Greg and
(20:53):
I are jumping up in the air. Weren't screaming, And
I think to myself, Oh no, I'm in, you're in.
I care about this game, just watching care this. It's
so good to just watch a game, a good game
that you don't care who wins. How about ninety eight
percent of the games I watched, or that one? How
about this? It didn't bother me that arch Manning was
was you know, didn't delive up to the high and
(21:15):
the whole game was wrapped around him and every commercial
break and everything, and it felt weird. It seems he's
throwing signe arms that Bernie goes on. Yeah, what happened
to that? That he's throwing it into the ground when
somebody's wide open, And that was odd and didn't execute
very well at all.
Speaker 2 (21:27):
But people need to stop saying he was adopted.
Speaker 1 (21:30):
And saying that that was fun. Listen. That was my
favorite was we're compared him to the wrong uncle when
they showed the pass go behind the guy even though
ELI won, you know, Super Bowls and give everybody he
would throw a pic at a bad time.
Speaker 3 (21:46):
Yes, he wouldn't.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
Little Arch did not have a great day. Ohio State
had a lot to do with that, but there were
times when Ohio State did have someone that was open
and he didn't seem to be able to hit them either. No,
and and look it maybe any fair we expect so
much as game one against a really good team. Let's
give him a moment. We won't do that. No, no,
no no. I think he has the kind of character
(22:08):
to overcome this. But it was not a great debut.
It was it the only one with your debut against
the Ohio State is not the great way to get it started.
The good news is though he did play better than
Belichick coach. Now that was now Belichick got his little
uns back. He sure did not, just by his girlfriend.
And the week is off and running. And that goofy
(22:29):
shirt you wear, it looks really goofy when you lost
bad for some reason, it shouldn't look any different, right, Well,
the way he was walking off the field with that
stupid hoodio, I believe, I believe that football, the football
society had unrealistic expectations for Arch Manning and Bill Bellide
absolutely and apparently Alabama the Crimson type.
Speaker 7 (22:47):
Yes, yes, but back to your original point, you can
deal with all that. But when you got blood on
the field, oh he pulls you in. So Friday night
new level.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
So Friday night you found yourself jumping up and down.
He thought you were just going to a hospital. And
I didn't know what happened. I mean, even Sherry was
the same way. She goes, Oh my gosh. I felt myself.
It was like one of our kids were playing again.
And you know, because we all went and it was
a blast to go. I loved getting to hang with
your grandkids, Greg and and to be there with Lisa
and and Kelsey, your daughter in law, and and you
(23:17):
and me getting to watch some football together. I really
really enjoyed that. I love watching Taylor coach and getting
to see him. I love him so much. But I mean,
and it's it's a rebuilding situation at the program where
they are now. And I was fine, I was okay.
I was like, you know what, this team is competitive.
Both weeks in a row, they're playing you know, a
(23:40):
team that's a classifical classification up. They they played a
really good They're they're they're not getting blown out. They're
doing great. And I was ready to let it go
that I was fine and dog gone it if if
the name of the school was Pelham High School. They're
playing Oak Mountain, who's you know right there, you know,
five minutes from my house. Yeah, And all of a sudden,
(24:03):
pel Them, with incredible execution, throws this pass with forty
seven seconds left, and dog gun if the receiver doesn't
get it, and they go ahead with forty and then
I think, oh no, because the first thing I think of,
though there's forty seven seconds. I know they're not going
to win, but now I care. And so you know,
you start off with and then Oak Mountain to their
(24:26):
credit and congratulations to them with zero time on the clock.
I'm talking about no time. Yeah, five four three two one,
balls in the air. About what forty yard pass? Forty
five forty forty five yard pass and the receiver for
Oak Mountain in traffic, he went up and got it.
Pel them. Everybody seemed to be in position. Everybody did
(24:47):
their job. They didn't let anybody get behind them. But
the guy just goes up and out jumps. Everybody gets
the ball on the hell Mary throat of the end zone,
but he catches it at the one and he just
starts going backward and they're trying to stop up him
and goes in the end zone, ties the game, and
then they kicked the next point win with zero time
on the cloth And there it was. How about this?
(25:09):
It was high school football at its best. Yeah, it
was too great. The bands were fantastic, the crowd was good,
weather was good, people playing hard, and but but it
but it bother and hey, it bothered me on through
the weekend.
Speaker 5 (25:25):
I mean, I.
Speaker 1 (25:28):
Couldn't let it go. I kept thinking about how close
it was to a really big win for that program
and hey, congratulations, don't mant I got all kinds of
friends there too. It was a good game. You know,
that's a program that I've worked with and love and
and connected to too, so I wish them nothing but
good things. But it was heartbreaking to be sitting there
(25:50):
at the green. Yeah, when watching it and not caring
who wins is a lot, a lot of fun. But
then again, excit I mean when it comes out on
in your which I've been involved since that has been
coaching in three hell, Mary, at the end of game one,
what nail?
Speaker 5 (26:06):
Mary?
Speaker 1 (26:07):
That was just some ilegit past but three times and
they won. Let's see one of them. M Yeah, you
know that. It was the last minute passed when he
was at Grayson in the state championship game that tied
it up with no time on the clock, had going
overtime and win it. But watching that ball in the
air is the worst feeling, isn't it. Oh And then
(26:28):
you're looking if you get the pass off, you got
a chance, and you're looking, there's a mob and everybody
jumps up for it and you're like.
Speaker 2 (26:34):
Oh, I had hold.
Speaker 7 (26:39):
When the other team came down with it, you were like,
you can't, you can't look nothing.
Speaker 1 (26:44):
I knew battle and played well. They came from fourteen
points down and ended up taking it. Was you know
that program's on the right track, but boy, that would
have been big. Well that game, that game, I'll rip
your heart right out. It's such a hard game. Top
of the hour.
Speaker 7 (27:03):
Yeah, we were I think it was on the edge
of hiring a professional to do it. Do you ever
hear stuff from your wife or your husband For those
of you that are listening that are that are the
wives that hey, we got a problem, And you're like, yeah,
we'll get to that. Oh, so your spouse tells you, hey,
we got it. We got a situation like, okay, yeah.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
Well Terry had never done that.
Speaker 7 (27:24):
Terry announced about a week ago, Hey, the the airflow
sensor on the the dryer where it keeps it keeps
blinking red.
Speaker 1 (27:33):
We got it's a problem, man.
Speaker 7 (27:35):
And I'm like, okay, yeah, we'll get to that, you
know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (27:37):
It was one of those Yeah, I look into that
and all you're saying what you're really saying, then, yeah,
as long as it keeps drying the clothes, I'm not
going to do anything until which we're shut down. Yeah,
and now we're pankin becuse we can't draw our clothes right.
Speaker 7 (27:48):
And you know, hey, we're cleaning out the little vent that. Yeah, yeah,
we're clean out. Yeah, we're clean out that.
Speaker 3 (27:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (27:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (27:55):
And so so this past weekend she said, well, it's
come in the mail, and I say, like what she said.
I ordered us a professional dryer vent cleaner kit, thirty
foot long, and you connect it to a pirate drill
and and that brush it just rotates through and it
cleans the whole vent out from the dryer to the
(28:17):
outside of the house. And I said, uh, okay, and
and so I'm out.
Speaker 1 (28:24):
I'm out.
Speaker 7 (28:24):
I said, okay, we'll get to that. We'll get to.
Speaker 1 (28:26):
That as soon as there's a game I don't care about, right,
And so I was in the middle of the yard,
going from the front yard to the backyard and she said,
it's it's she even hey turned the weedy to off.
Speaker 7 (28:37):
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, Yeah, what's up. She says,
I've moved the dryer out. It's it's let's go.
Speaker 1 (28:42):
It's time. Like right now.
Speaker 7 (28:44):
I mean, I'm covered in grass. I'm like right now.
She said, yes, let's get this done. I've got stuff
to do too, Let's get it done. Please, come on.
Speaker 1 (28:52):
I'm like, okay.
Speaker 7 (28:53):
So she said, I've run it in from the inside. Uh,
and just a bunch of gunk came out. And she said,
but we got to get up on a ladder to
the vent that's on the second story and and take
the vent cap off or whatever and then run it
in from the outside thirty foot long. So I'm like, okay,
she said, I just need your help getting thirty That's
(29:13):
a lot. So we go. We take the little cap off.
Of course, it's all calked up and I'm having to
rip it off and all this, and so we get
it off, climb up the ladder. I'm like, okay, let
me see it. So I run it in there and
and I, you know, start to drill, and of course
it's just spinning all the way in and I pulled
some stuff out and it's just it's the wind was blowing, y'all.
It was howling and so any I know, but any
(29:37):
length that came any length that came out, it was
just it was just everywhere. So you eat it, so
you're trying to hold your breath too, because you know.
So then I go and I can tell where at
the turn, I'm like, hey, I'm stuck. It's not even
it's not even turning any I'm stuck. And so I
start to kind of pull it out a little bit.
(29:59):
And y'all that it was really is a fire hazard
and you really need to keep this cleaned down.
Speaker 1 (30:03):
Probably call a professional.
Speaker 7 (30:05):
But so we I pulled.
Speaker 1 (30:07):
I saw professionals when they came to do hours. They
had some pretty heavy do.
Speaker 7 (30:10):
You yeah, yeah yeah. And so I pull enough out
to where I'm like, okay, there's a break. Now, I
know I need what I need to do. I need
to go get the battery, uh blower a little little
battery blower and stick it up in that pipe and
just blow the loose stuff out. That's what we'll do, honey.
Let me go get that.
Speaker 1 (30:30):
That's gonna finish it. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (30:32):
So I go in and and she's like, okay, I'll
go outside and I'll tell you if it's working and
if if there's airflow, then we know, yeah, it's it's good.
Speaker 1 (30:42):
So I start like.
Speaker 7 (30:50):
You it's almost like I've got a motorcycle too, like
you know how you.
Speaker 1 (30:59):
And I am, And it's I got it in.
Speaker 7 (31:00):
They're good too. And I've got my can cup to
where no air's getting out. And she comes running.
Speaker 1 (31:06):
In stop.
Speaker 7 (31:10):
Screaming, and she is laughing to the point she can't
hardly talk, and her hands down on She's like stop,
please stop, and I'm like, what are you talking about.
She's like, honey, there's so much stuff coming out. She said,
it is snowing. Our neighbor's truck is covered in our lent,
and their their driveways covered, the neighbors across the street,
(31:32):
and the wind's blowing towards them. She said, honey, we
have a major cleanup on Asle three. I mean major,
And I'm like, blazon out she said, Oh no, you
kept blowing so much. I didn't think you were ever
going to stop blowing.
Speaker 1 (31:45):
She said.
Speaker 7 (31:47):
She said, to the point where now nothing's coming out.
It's just it's just cleaning.
Speaker 1 (31:51):
Okay, good, we got it. The only problem, yeah.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
You gusted your neighbor's truck.
Speaker 1 (31:55):
Sad.
Speaker 7 (31:56):
It's the way the wind was blowing. Everything was blowing
straight to my neighbors house. And so I go out
and guys, when I tell you, bless their little truck's hard.
It was covered. I had to clean there. I had
to clean their whole yard. I had to clean their truck.
Do you clean lint up somebody's yard. Now I've got there,
got my blower and I'm blowing stuff all from there,
(32:19):
and I'm like, I don't know if y'all are in
there or not. I didn't know if they were home.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
Sorry about that. So now I'm.
Speaker 7 (32:24):
Getting it in a pile and I'm trying to get
it in the garbage. It was an absolute mess.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
Did you make it snow limbs on your neighbors? Yes,
And I'm even in their truck. I'm standing up in
the back of their truck blowing stuff out of the truck.
Even well I'm scraped business. It was.
Speaker 7 (32:41):
The truck's there all the time, and I'm like, Stephen
out know if you're there, Hey, man, there's lint in
the back of your truck.
Speaker 1 (32:46):
Where did it come from? Well, I don't know. My
por across the street had to go inside. So your
neighbor you ruin there outside.
Speaker 7 (32:54):
Yeah, that tells you how bad it was backed up.
Speaker 1 (32:56):
Wow.
Speaker 7 (32:57):
It took me probably maybe fifteen minutes to clean up
their yard. And they have a beautiful little breeze way.
Of course there's lent. It's just covered.
Speaker 1 (33:06):
And by the way, I think that Speedy's dryer was
backed up more than Elvis's colin.
Speaker 3 (33:13):
It was.
Speaker 7 (33:13):
Hey, it's at the turn. It's at a turn, you know,
because it goes up, it goes up a floor and
it goes in between the first and second floor and
out the side of the house. And so it was
clogged at that turn. And so so from the inside
we only you know, for thirty feet, we could only
get to that turn, and then from the outside we
could only.
Speaker 1 (33:32):
Get the turn was the issue.
Speaker 7 (33:33):
But the blower was off that but we loosened it
all and y'all please understand, I can't I had to
finish cutting the backyard. And when I was cutting that
that side, it's like I was in a cloud of
white dust. There was so much lint. So in that yard,
neighbors upset. We know they're fine, They're fine. I don't
(33:53):
even think they were home.
Speaker 1 (33:55):
I bet you read light went off. Hey what about
the people had to go back inside of they man.
Speaker 7 (34:01):
It was uh the wind was blowing.
Speaker 1 (34:03):
You could just see a white cloud of It's neighbors
like you that make me realize this pergola is a
waste of money, you know what, because you'd be raining
it down. After trying to.
Speaker 7 (34:15):
She came running in, please stop. Well, I like, well, honey,
I thought you wanted this event. Clear She said, no,
you don't understand what you're doing outside.
Speaker 1 (34:22):
How about this the coke the cove, Christmas come early?
You know one of these cities over the weekend. You
know it's Labor Day weekend. You know, one of the
cities that they've just really pushed back on because no
one wants to feel safe in their own city. Uh So,
(34:43):
Chicago has told the Trump administration to have a coke
and a smile. They do not need any help from
the federal government. No, because they're doing a great zone,
doing a great job. Let's run the numbers over Labor
Day weekend. By the way, those of you in Chicago
who were not shot, congratulations making it through another three
day weekend over the Labor Day weekend. At least I
(35:07):
love that phrase. This is what we have to count
so far. Fifty four people shot, all right, sadly seven killed.
How about it's sad that anybody was shot, and it's
even more sad if it killed you. Obviously over the
Labor Day weekend, but they continue to reject. Now, what
you're noticing is people who live in Chicago in areas
(35:27):
that they could have easily been one of the at
least fifty four. They would like some help, yes, But
the people who live in parts of the city that
aren't in danger, they keep pushing back on the help
because their political standing is more important than you being shot.
So anyway, remember those that don't want to get you
the help, they don't live where you do. No, No,
(35:48):
that's how the ruling class works. The ruling class. They live,
they get all the food they need, they get all
the money they need, they get the house they need.
They keep their job. Now now, when you're out there
under the ruling class, you just do the best you can. Yep,
and so so. But I will say this because I
(36:08):
noticed this happening a little bit over with our friends
in England over the weekend. Did you see that the
British are starting to push back? Eventually the people have
had enough a lot of protests. Yeah, and so the
British people said, all these radical Muslims that are trying
to scare all of us and doing all these things,
(36:29):
taking over our neighborhoods, how about this, We're going to
show you our numbers that we're going to push back.
And they pushed back, and I think it shook some
of the Muslims that thought they were taking over the city.
I think they realized, oh wow, so they're just not
going to lay down. Well, eventually this will happen in Chicago.
If there's one thing that politicians do fear, it is
(36:50):
the people. And I think it's okay every now and
then for them to be reminded that we can make
life uncomfortable for them politically. I'm not saying that you
physically harm or anything like that, but you know, if
you if you if you'll make enough trouble like with
your voice, not burning cities, nothing like that. But if
they see you united, people that say, we won't vote
(37:12):
for you anymore, and we we're gonna vote for the
other party if we think they make us feel safer. See,
the left loves to They don't like when the safe
narrative is taken away from them. They're the ones that
are supposed to terrify you and tell you they'll keep
you safe. And when people realize y'all are the ones
that are putting us in danger, they'll drift to a
(37:32):
political party that makes them feel safer. Yeah, and so
if you can get them afraid of that, they might respond.
But until that happens, they're going to keep saying everything's
fine while you keep getting shot. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (37:44):
Really, safety is a non Parson issue.
Speaker 9 (37:48):
On that.
Speaker 7 (37:48):
But it's just like the problem the protests in Chicago.
Speaker 1 (37:52):
They're no to Trump coming in. No, so y'all don't want.
Speaker 7 (37:55):
Safe, No, they want safe. They just don't want Trump
to win. They don't want Trump to look good, which
is sad.
Speaker 1 (38:01):
You can't take anything that comes from him. No, you're
gonna hope even though you're putting people in danger. Yeah. Yeah,
but like I said, numbers got live. Do you see
the numbers? Yeah, well, their numbers are always horrible. Eventually, eventually,
like I said, when bullets are flying around me, I'm
gonna start voting differently, and they and that, and you've
seen that already happen. Really, but it's going to continue.
(38:23):
It's going to continue to do that. Also, I know,
I'm sure we'll hear something about this is as well. Uh,
Florida State coming off a good weekend in football, but
on a much more important and sadder note, one of
their linebackers, Ethan Pritchard, went home to see family, uh,
(38:44):
Sunday night and was shot himself. He's in critical but
stable condition. Just visiting his family in Havana, Florida, and
was sitting in his car around the apartment complex and
with all the violence there, I guess where his family lives,
he was shot. So how about that, you're coming off
(39:05):
good weekend, go home see family that that shouldn't lead
to you being in critical but stable condition. No, because
of stray bullet shot you, right, So that that's sad too.
Speaker 6 (39:15):
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson was speaking at a Labor Day
rally this weekend yelling, no federal troops in this in
the city of Chicago. We're going to defend our democracy
in the city of Chicago. Meanwhile, like you guys said,
there were fifty three shootings over the weekend in the city.
Speaker 1 (39:32):
Yep, and uh so, and seven people did so you're
obviously doing a fantastic jo. Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (39:40):
So.
Speaker 1 (39:40):
Also, and Natdam you may have this coming up in
the videos today. Did you see this thing with Hershey
Park in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
Speaker 6 (39:51):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (39:52):
I could not believe this. There's like a monorail track, yes,
And everybody looks up and a little boy is on
the monorail track.
Speaker 3 (40:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (40:00):
No, I'm just walking across it.
Speaker 2 (40:02):
Yeah, and he's there, and that's where the train goes, y'all.
He's on train tracks.
Speaker 1 (40:07):
Well, there's two things, the train and just falling off. Yeah,
because it's not very wide. No, it's not.
Speaker 7 (40:14):
Everybody starts screaming and hollering at him, and then that
freaks him out, so he stops and they're like, no,
keep going, that's the way.
Speaker 1 (40:20):
He was walking.
Speaker 7 (40:22):
And now he's like now he's confused. And I don't
know if it was the dad or just a bystander.
Somebody they crawl up to the platform and and just
whistle for him to come walk over. And then this
guy ends up actually getting up up there and getting
him so.
Speaker 2 (40:39):
Well he's high up. Wow, that's like twenty five feet.
Speaker 1 (40:43):
Yeah, that happen. If he falls, you know that, it's
a bad story unless somebody can catch him. I bet
everybody's going. Somebody in a monorail. Yeah, and then if
the train comes, it's about one hundred feet off the ground,
by the way, And I said the boy was reported
missing in the park after five pm on Saturday, got
separated from his parents, and of course they're thinking the
(41:07):
man who got up there, everybody saw him, so somehow
panic and go back the other way, and you know,
thank the Lord, they finally get him going the other
way to the man who climbs up there and gets him,
and he's just telling him to come on to him.
And I just I can feel the tension, you know
(41:27):
if you're there on the ground and see he finally
gets up there to him and he and he picks
him up and gets him off.
Speaker 2 (41:34):
So the whole crowd is so relieved.
Speaker 1 (41:36):
Oh yeah, helpless, especially when he got confused and there's
not a lot of detail other than he got separated
from his family and they reported him missing. There's no
details in the story of how they think he accessed
the monorail track.
Speaker 6 (41:54):
Gets separated from your parents and then you find yourself
on the monorail tracks.
Speaker 2 (41:59):
How does that happened? How do kids get themselves in
all these situations?
Speaker 1 (42:04):
Until everybody started yelling, he was just strolling down. He
was like, he's just a walking Hey buddy, you're pretty high, well,
and there's still pretty narrow you walk there. There's people
being critical of everybody spooking him. That that almost led
to maybe, but I mean, what are you supposed to do?
I mean, your reaction is hey, little boy, please please you,
you know, keep walking that way. But he's got so
(42:26):
many people shouting at him. It's like, meanwhile, it's like
being on the prices, right, and everybody's telling you what
you should be, you know, and so just praise God.
He's all right.
Speaker 7 (42:37):
Yes, that's just he doesn't have ant seem to have
an issue with heights because he's just walking along.
Speaker 1 (42:42):
Maybe Greg, he'll be a highline guy. You're still working
tower climber, still worker, uh, building them big buildings. So goodness,
you're right out the relief of everybody there. So I'm
so glad that one had a happy ending. But it's
but the I mean, it was that was a that
(43:05):
was a that was a scary video to watch, really
was those of you hadn't seen it. I mean it's terrified.
Speaker 7 (43:11):
Well you look at me, you see a child like that,
and you're.
Speaker 1 (43:14):
Like, what in the world? No, yeah, so uh yeah,
I wondered about that. Somebody's saying that the kid turned
out to be autistic. He looks like when he covers
his ears. Yeah, that that might be possible, But I
wasn't going to speculate on that. And I don't know
whether this text person has that right or not. It's
not in the story, but you may have more information now.
Speaker 5 (43:35):
It did.
Speaker 1 (43:35):
It did have mannerisms that looked like that. Sure enough.
Speaker 3 (43:38):
We'll be back.
Speaker 1 (43:44):
And then coming up on Thursday, worlds will collot uh
and that is really for Speedy. His starts on Wednesday.
But Larry and Carolyn come to the studio and Gary
is going to be here as well. We have Gary
and Larry you out and I've heard from Gary a
good bit over the weekend about how much Larry's calling him.
(44:07):
Uh Arry's chagging in he doesn't hold a candle? What
are you okay? Yeah, you don't want to hear that.
Speaker 7 (44:13):
No, I mean, seriously, are you okay? I think, Hey, Larry,
how y'all doing?
Speaker 1 (44:19):
I love you?
Speaker 7 (44:20):
But I think yesterday alone, I got eight messages and
you know, we're just trying to spend in mind anyway,
he's excited. Uh, and so I've got to talk to
him at some point today because coming over there, like
I looked at Terry and I was like, so are
we are we having Larry and Carolyn over? And now
(44:41):
all of our friends have found out that Larry's coming
over and they're like, well, I've got a meeting, you know,
so we might have a street full of cars.
Speaker 1 (44:49):
I don't know. Is it official? Larry and Carolyn will
eat at your house Wednesday night? Is that official?
Speaker 3 (44:56):
I think?
Speaker 7 (44:57):
I think Terry is gonna be a good sport and
and and do that now? Larry in one of his
mini texts to me, I mean, oh I lost count.
Speaker 6 (45:07):
Is Uh.
Speaker 7 (45:08):
I had to hide the notifications. No disrespect to Larry
if he's watching, because I was getting so many I
couldn't even moved throughout the day.
Speaker 1 (45:14):
I was just like Carolyn is Carolyn tries to coach him.
Speaker 7 (45:18):
On this, she does, she does, but he in for me.
They don't eat a lot, so Terry didn't have to
make They don't eat a lot, they don't need a lot.
Speaker 1 (45:25):
What that means, Well, I saw Larry he needs to
put some weight on. Yeah, great, When you and I
saw him, oh yeah, he needs put some on. Larry's small,
Yeah he does.
Speaker 6 (45:34):
So sitting next to each other, that's when I realized
he's not as large as I think.
Speaker 1 (45:39):
When Rick was hugging him in that picture, I was
going to pick him up. But he's got a lot.
If I injured Larry, he didn't want you to tell you.
He had told already told it. Uh if I hurt,
had hurt Larry picking him up great for the show,
but not great for Larry. No. No, I was like
his old back, don't pick him been through a lot.
(46:00):
I don't think you can pick him up. I think
you fall apart. Hm.
Speaker 5 (46:03):
So he's there, you bringing patches.
Speaker 1 (46:07):
Coming on over.
Speaker 7 (46:08):
But yeah, I gotta get with him, and I'll make
it easy on him. I guess I'll just go to
their hotel, pick him up, take him over. Okay, I
asked Terry, I said, would you would you be a prop?
Would there be a problem if I blindfolded Larry? Uh
So he didn't get our address and walk him in.
Speaker 3 (46:26):
Smart?
Speaker 7 (46:27):
Don't you dare fold him?
Speaker 1 (46:28):
That's smart? That's like the last mile or two.
Speaker 7 (46:31):
Yeah, I'm thinking maybe I'm maybe a pillow case over
their head.
Speaker 2 (46:35):
Yeah, driving circles a little bit so he can be careful.
Speaker 1 (46:38):
Does your mailbox every address on? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (46:41):
Black?
Speaker 1 (46:42):
Yeah, black, black electrical table save that? Yeah yeah, well
off whatever. Yeah. So uh so it's real.
Speaker 3 (46:51):
It is real.
Speaker 1 (46:52):
And and this thing with Gary, I don't understand this.
You know, Gary does not seem thrilled with with coming.
Well yeah I don't. I mean knowing Gary the way
I know him. Hey, I'm coming up there for the show,
But I don't know. I mean he is a little
(47:13):
uneasy about it. He's very uneasy. Yeah, guy, so uh
so anyway, I would look, I can't wait for the
two of them to talk, can you? Nothing compares you?
You spent the night there? Let me, nobody's going to.
Speaker 3 (47:30):
Look.
Speaker 1 (47:30):
And let's get real for a minute. Gary is not
overly warm, no, rack, He's not a warm person. You know,
and he shuts down a French bulldog. I don't like
going to restaurants with him. He's not warm, like he'll
be a little road to the staff. I don't let
hurry up back here, not about time. And I'm just like, okay, Larry,
(47:51):
he'll do that. Garry, Larry, Harry, Terry. We got to
what do we Gott's wife, Terry, We got Larry, we
got Gary yeah, and then Harry. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (48:02):
So Terry asked me what is all Sterry? What she
should cook? And I was like, well, I mean, like Greg,
everybody loves chicken.
Speaker 1 (48:10):
Yeah, you know something just love chicken.
Speaker 7 (48:13):
You know, chicken maybe two sides and some corn bread
and collars. You know, that's just something pretty standard.
Speaker 1 (48:19):
Or order pizza right or order yeah. Somebody said to
you might want to get that basket out and take
their farms as they come in.
Speaker 7 (48:30):
They've only got one.
Speaker 1 (48:31):
They share the same fun they do and and and
and I love this decks. Go ahead and black out
your neighbor's mailbox too. They want mine. Yeah, I'll just
just black out the whole neighborhood. Is Gary coming to
dinner soon? I mentioned that to him and he said,
you know, I ain't coming. You don't have time.
Speaker 7 (48:48):
You know.
Speaker 1 (48:48):
What should have happened. Gary should have had a fish
fry yep, like he did on whatever holiday then, right,
and we showed it. Yeah, well he was.
Speaker 7 (48:56):
I was begging for Rick to let us go down
to the farm, but he he that Sherry Terry, Larry Gary.
Speaker 1 (49:04):
Wow, Larry, this is Terry Terry, Gary, Larry Harry, Larry Terry,
this is Larry Terry. I'm sorry. Maybe tomorrow you can
meet Sherry and Gary Gary, right, you know, and when
you see out your notice little Harry.
Speaker 7 (49:24):
Yeah, but I mean just as an order of business
at some point, we probably ought to talk to him today.
Speaker 1 (49:34):
Oh really, and we'll push.
Speaker 7 (49:35):
He's wanted this past weekend. I know y'all didn't have it.
Each wanted y'all to call him. Yeah, last weekend, but
I didn't bother you over that. But busy going to
get furniture.
Speaker 1 (49:47):
I was going to a storage building. That it's coming
to my life and trying to get it out of
my life, which is not easy.
Speaker 8 (49:56):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (49:56):
He also got some challenge coins in. Well, that's good,
that's great.
Speaker 4 (49:59):
This is.
Speaker 1 (50:01):
So it's it's gonna be great. Yeah, we probably do
need to talk to him because I keep forgetting we're
short weeking it. It's already.
Speaker 7 (50:10):
He travels tomorrow, Yeah, he'll come in tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (50:14):
He eats at your house tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (50:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (50:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (50:17):
And Terry's Terry, she's such a troopers, Like, so you're gonna,
I know, you're gonna do on your little Instagram video
all your little stuff and that's how she says it.
Speaker 1 (50:27):
And you can be showing the house and all that,
but nobody cares, that's what. Well are you gonna let
us see though? What we gotta know what's going on? Yeah,
you got a document.
Speaker 7 (50:36):
Yeah, he's gonna have to he's gonna have a pillow
case over his head.
Speaker 8 (50:40):
And so.
Speaker 1 (50:42):
H I played a good one on JC.
Speaker 7 (50:44):
I told him that they were He's like, so, I mean,
I'm gonna I'm gonna walk out and he's gonna.
Speaker 1 (50:48):
Be like, you know, I want to see.
Speaker 5 (50:53):
He's a nice guy. Speedy, speedy, speedy him. Is jas
need a patch?
Speaker 1 (51:03):
You know, like you were talking, He'll just kidding wreck
right right right. Tell me I want to ask you
said the minute we got there on our way in Georgia.
First thing, come here, let me tell you what I
got he's just so.
Speaker 3 (51:16):
So.
Speaker 1 (51:17):
He also texted me direct.
Speaker 7 (51:21):
Texted me over the weekend on what he should wear
and what he should and I said, I said, Larry,
he's nervous. He's nervous about Is he nervous about it?
And I said, but he just be yourself. I said,
just wear what you know short.
Speaker 1 (51:34):
He claimed that that Carolyn got a dress and he
and he pressed his suit. But he might be messing.
Is there any chance Terry will smoke a black and
Mom with him? Could if I have a picture of
Larry and Terry with a blush leah? Okay, we should
(51:54):
be that. We shouldn't be encouraged. I think I'm gonna
start smoking. Seriously. Everybody else is going the other way. Larry,
of all the unhealthy things, Larry has done a black
and mild is mild? Right?
Speaker 3 (52:06):
All right?
Speaker 7 (52:06):
I'm have to get Terry to spoke a black and Mom.
It's gonna take a lot of convincing.
Speaker 5 (52:10):
Would Terry like to have a patch of speedy Gary
names Larry? Hello, Gary, Terry Breck, where's Sherry?
Speaker 1 (52:25):
Top of the hour? It's real? Nad Meyer's coming next hour?
Oh boy, so much going on. We'll be right back.
Speaker 7 (52:38):
He's got a lot to say, and as I know,
a lot of yeah, Alabama fans have a lot to
just call it. Yeah, isn't it amazing no matter who
you root for, not just their situation, but anybody. How
right before game one, everybody is so excited and so
you know, just optimistic and hey, here we go. And
(52:58):
then after game one you're either feeling one way or
the other, you know. But I will say this though,
in the state of college football and where we are losing,
losing one game is not gonna Yeah, calm down, you know,
it wasn't an SEC opponent or whatever. You still kind
of control your own destiny. However, there's got a lot
(53:18):
of improvement for sure, and I think everybody would agree.
Speaker 1 (53:21):
Your breath there.
Speaker 7 (53:22):
I say, you were talking a lot a lot of
friends that are Alabama fans, and I watched the game
with them, and they're like, I can't really complain about
the quarterback play.
Speaker 1 (53:32):
I can't. I mean, and at times he was running
for his life. Yeah, and uh, defensively it was.
Speaker 7 (53:38):
There was a disappointment, but also on the other side,
is just as Florida State a lot better than we get.
Speaker 1 (53:43):
You thought, well, that could be that way. Did you look, Well,
they were two and eight last year. Yeah, but this
is a completely different team. They went out and they
got if you're gonna get Malson, you got to get
a quarterback like you got. When Malson has that kind
of quarterback that that that can on his offense and
is a threat with the ball, he's dangerous. He's a problem.
(54:04):
Now when he has a quarterback that it's not mobile,
that that offense, the offense falls apart. Just go watch,
go back to his whole career. So they they got
mals On and a quarterback that can run that offense.
They went back and said, these defensive linemen we thought
were good last year, we were wrong. So we're going
to place all of them the ones they have now,
much more physical, the whole defense, picked up a couple
(54:25):
of offensive linemen that they needed, uh and uh and
and changed defensive coordinator, offensive coordinator, some pretty good backs.
They changed every day. They they looked at two and
eight and said not next time, and they made some changes.
Yeh uh so so we'll we'll see. But now, if
you're looking for mister Nadmyer to be level headed like
(54:48):
you are right now, he's not he is. He's got
a lot to say, He's got a lot to say. All.
I heard one thing, but I can't confirm it, So
I'm just gonna wait and hear from him directly. But
I heard something that I don't think i've ever heard
him say before. Could be wrong. Maybe maybe that was
somebody saying I bet you know, sometimes somebody that like
(55:11):
he said something, or they heard it from somebody, but
it's read of what they think they might say. Yeah,
So I'm just gonna.
Speaker 7 (55:16):
Okay, let me ask you a question. Back to the
Alabama game, Ryan Williams got banged up and and.
Speaker 1 (55:23):
Was it a concussion? Now that's the report. That's the
report I saw. You know, they waved it off. They
thought it was targeted. Then they waved it off and
I didn't even see how his head hit anything.
Speaker 7 (55:32):
Yeah, because then they were holding his arms.
Speaker 1 (55:34):
So I'm like, well, what's But then I was the
hell that he's in the protocol? Okay, see the doom
say over here? Yeah, text nations not happening. Was he
dropped a few balls that weren't like him? And yeah,
the whole thing, I don't know. That's that I'm telling you. Uh, Okay,
so let's talk about a couple of things. And Speedy,
I I literally got up on Saturday, okay, and I
(55:54):
begin to worry about you. Yeah, now, just cause Ilarry's coming,
I started, I started worrying about you, and I almost
text you and said I thank you just as your friend.
With your second hand embarrassment and your discomfort on behalf
of others, I think you need to take a pass
on watching Lee Corso's last game day. I almost told
(56:16):
you not to do it. But then, like you toe,
Greg yaw f airmanute ago, you were right. They sort
of lulled us in to saying, oh, they're doing it right.
We've got a lot of prepackaged stuff put together that
was very good. We're only letting him answer yes or
no questions and we're not putting him in a bind.
And just about the time dancing, just about the time
(56:38):
we thought we were okay. And Speedy's already mentioned he's
absolutely right when the wheels came off. So when I
started texting to the group, is they brought him in
like always on the game predictions. Yeah, and he made
an attempt to say the word Tuscaloosa pretty tough. It
wasn't even close. I mean it just fell into a
(57:00):
mob Mustardy with the tea and just crumbled. I mean
it was and then and then he kind of started
getting a little lost, and sometimes I caught him looking off.
He's nine, and I just brought back memories of President Biden.
Speaker 2 (57:15):
Really did Biden's presidency.
Speaker 7 (57:20):
You know why I've never rooted for somebody so much
that I did coach corso well.
Speaker 1 (57:26):
Well, let me say this this part right here, that
Adler's showing. This was this was this was this was moving. Yeah.
And and you know the first mascot had he ever
put on was the Buckeye, right, and the last one
ever put on was the buck Eye. And that little
moment was was was kind of nice. Yeah, so picked
Florida's date, Yeah he did.
Speaker 3 (57:46):
He did.
Speaker 2 (57:47):
I miss any of his final picks.
Speaker 1 (57:49):
Now, now I want you to watch his wave right here. Yeah,
that I was. I was really impressed.
Speaker 7 (57:55):
Was the logistical nightmare it had to be from moving
game day from out side the stadium to inside the
stadium and then in one commercial break from the corner
of the stadium to midfield over uh.
Speaker 1 (58:08):
And so that was pretty impressive, to say the least.
And the history of the mascot head. That was very interesting. Yeah,
I didn't know that, I no wonder him and it
was it was special. Okay, Okay, he got in trouble.
They let him talk a little too much in the
game predictions. That was fine, and uh and I you know,
and Kirk kurb Street had already kind of cried it out,
(58:30):
so he didn't really get all that emotional for what
I saw.
Speaker 7 (58:33):
No, No, it was a it was a very respectful
type of way to send him off. And you could
tell that the entire staff thinks a lot of him,
and everybody that really he's been involved with was very
complimentary of him.
Speaker 1 (58:46):
And no idea where he is. No, No, the Bucky
faces now it makes me think it's his expression.
Speaker 2 (58:52):
I know, you know, I know, I know, I has
no idea what day it is?
Speaker 1 (58:58):
Okay, And I'm also I may be getting into an admires.
What what are we going to do? What are we
gonna do? Because something has to be done about football
players are now just playing in shorts. Something has to
be done. If you give them an inch, they'll take
them off. Would you let's go back to you have
(59:19):
to cover your knee they're now right to the top
of them. They're now wearing them up to their thighs,
and it looks they have they have a pair of
shorts and they're out there playing in hot pants. I mean,
what what do we do it? I mean, something has
to be done and this must be stopped. I don't
want to see. I don't want to see players playing
in shorts. I feel like that we're all out in
(59:41):
shells right now. Of course we've taken so much contact
out of the game, we probably can get away with it.
But but it just it looks really I don't. It
makes me very uncomfortable. I don't know why, but it does.
Uh that that it just doesn't look right. And I mean,
and of course it's just getting completely.
Speaker 3 (59:57):
Out of hand.
Speaker 1 (59:57):
Yeah, the halfway I say, I say, let's go back
to you got to have you unique covered. Yeah, that's
what I guess that that looks better. That the football
pants look better that way. They don't look good good
as shorts. It's not the best best foot forward. Well,
like you said, we crept up a little bit above
the knee and everybody was like, okay, Cliff Branch, yep,
(01:00:17):
and we got that and then of course we can't
leave it there. It's kind of like with basketball shorts.
Remember we went from tidies to always in your ankles. Yeah,
same thing, right back to college game day. So I
was more bothered by So Kirk Herb Street's dog just
going to wonder where he wants he got another dog
out there?
Speaker 7 (01:00:34):
Yeah, yeah, early on set while they're a live it's
just it's walking in between everybody and everything.
Speaker 1 (01:00:43):
And what about the doll?
Speaker 7 (01:00:44):
And you know, I know he loves a little doll.
But during the you know how Pat McFee has the
field goal, uh competition or whatever.
Speaker 1 (01:00:52):
I think I saw it take a dump. No, really, right,
I think I saw that. I don't know if I was.
You realize you you know this, Greg, You you know this,
you know this, I know this. We all know this.
Kirk Herb Street, who I have great respect for. His
(01:01:14):
dog's a bit to everybody on the set. Oh yeah,
especially it's like he is that dog guy. Especially Okay,
you've had this one. He's your buddy, b B. But
once he passed on, they didn't think he would replace it.
Speaker 2 (01:01:26):
No quick, he replaced it quick.
Speaker 1 (01:01:28):
I would have gone, I would have gone off to
the side. And I would have said, Kirk, we all
love you, we respect you. You're one of the best
at what you do. Okay, we all went with you
on the final ride and everything of your dog. Okay,
don't bring another one. You can have your own dog.
Go enjoy your dog, but please stop bringing it to work.
(01:01:48):
The head said, he's a bit to it.
Speaker 7 (01:01:50):
Yeah, and I'm not everybody you know. Hey, look I
love the dog, but I'm just saying we're live.
Speaker 1 (01:01:56):
I mean, and here we are, and it's just walking around.
Speaker 6 (01:01:58):
I call him.
Speaker 1 (01:01:59):
I guess I call unprofessional. Look, we got to be
pros here.
Speaker 6 (01:02:04):
The UNC game got so bad that he put the
headset on his dog during the broadcast.
Speaker 1 (01:02:08):
Well they needed something. Yeah, I've my past.
Speaker 3 (01:02:13):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (01:02:14):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Let's look at some
of the stuff from yesterday and the speedy and admire next.
Speaker 7 (01:02:27):
Yes, he said he is available, and let me just
say again, no filter.
Speaker 1 (01:02:32):
Okay, he is. By the way, if you're sensitive to
honesty from a really rabid fan, just you know, I
just want to warn you it's gonna be tough out there. Buttercup, okay,
all right, So let's go to some mascot stuff. I'm
getting a lot of texts and emails about video eight.
(01:02:53):
I understand the Oregon mascot. Yeah, by the way, by
the way, Adler, just a little bit a typo there
o mascot, which if that had been a mascot, it
really would have been fun. But I know you mean duck.
Speaker 2 (01:03:08):
Hey yeah, hey sorry.
Speaker 1 (01:03:12):
Yeah, But anyway, why is the type I always reflect you. Look,
you were trying to get him out to us, buddy,
That's why the because.
Speaker 2 (01:03:24):
It's a real word. So it's I didn't underline it
read yes when I was typing it. Right, and that's
also a word.
Speaker 1 (01:03:31):
Right. So here we go. Here's Oregon's Duck mascot. Not off,
not off to a great start.
Speaker 6 (01:03:38):
Yes, when this head comes off, wow, this is this
is the view from the stands because it catches more
of it.
Speaker 2 (01:03:46):
And yeah, his head, you know what it is.
Speaker 1 (01:03:54):
It's like a member of Kiss in the nineteen seventies.
And I don't want you to say without the makeup
was his head for he had to get I guess
that's the rule. I don't know, but put it back home.
Speaker 7 (01:04:04):
It's like he trips and when he hits the hit
jars the head from and it comes off.
Speaker 2 (01:04:10):
This is the broadcast.
Speaker 1 (01:04:11):
Okay, okay, bring the ducks.
Speaker 2 (01:04:15):
Towards the ducks. No head is that thing?
Speaker 3 (01:04:21):
What is that out there?
Speaker 1 (01:04:22):
He tripped over? Is that like a little spring? Maybe
he was just jumping supposed to jump off that or
something I don't.
Speaker 2 (01:04:28):
Know, was rolling on the ground.
Speaker 1 (01:04:33):
Hey, the guy that gets the head got pretty good
speed watching. Hey gosh, how about to sprint?
Speaker 7 (01:04:39):
Just okay, I'm out of here.
Speaker 1 (01:04:40):
So is he just bend over and putting on? Is
that some kind of mascot uh? Chable etiquette? There's the
word I'm looking for. So they can't just put it
back home. You got to run off, immediately leave the field,
Like I said, They want you to see leaving shame.
I think we saw him more by running off.
Speaker 4 (01:04:59):
He just.
Speaker 2 (01:05:01):
Okay, here's the view from the stands again.
Speaker 6 (01:05:03):
And he y'all, he fell for about twenty feet before
actually falling, falling, falling, falling, falling.
Speaker 1 (01:05:09):
Oh he's carrying that with him.
Speaker 7 (01:05:10):
Yeah, And somebody did say you do have to leave
the field for one play when you have it comes.
Speaker 3 (01:05:14):
Oh that's true.
Speaker 1 (01:05:17):
Now why are you saying that? By mascot? Is the goat?
Speaker 3 (01:05:21):
Well?
Speaker 6 (01:05:21):
By you mascots back at it, and uh, the feats
of strength by the BYU mascot are amazing. Have you
guys seen when he does push ups on the picnic
tables that are stacked so they'll start on the.
Speaker 1 (01:05:34):
Ground and go.
Speaker 2 (01:05:37):
So we got three picnic tables stacked up.
Speaker 6 (01:05:39):
He's starting from the ground to do a push up,
but he jumps while doing the push up.
Speaker 2 (01:05:44):
So now he's on table one.
Speaker 1 (01:05:46):
Oh my goodness, now.
Speaker 2 (01:05:47):
He's on table two.
Speaker 8 (01:05:48):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (01:05:49):
Now he's gonna he's gonna struggle here. He's gonna really
struggle through all.
Speaker 2 (01:05:54):
Almost fakety. He said, no, I have to do this
camp as a ram. I'm the by mascot.
Speaker 9 (01:06:00):
Darn it.
Speaker 1 (01:06:00):
That's pretty wow. Oh now.
Speaker 6 (01:06:06):
Look at me all right, And now he's about to
do a flip off of this and gets to be
so jacked because this is a really mascot in the year.
Speaker 2 (01:06:13):
Yes, is she about to do a back flip?
Speaker 1 (01:06:14):
All he does?
Speaker 3 (01:06:15):
Boom?
Speaker 5 (01:06:16):
Guys, you.
Speaker 1 (01:06:22):
Love this guy?
Speaker 3 (01:06:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:06:24):
Maskt weird? Uh, maskcots. We we we discussed Clemson. Well,
I got to looking. They have too of them. They
do is a male and female. Yeah, that looks weird.
The dresses are looking there eye.
Speaker 3 (01:06:37):
Yea.
Speaker 1 (01:06:37):
I brought that up to share and she's like, oh
my gosh, yeah, he is way too small. Another team
that thought they were going to come out smoking. That
was a good game. It was a good game.
Speaker 2 (01:06:46):
Does it bother you all the dabbo runs out like.
Speaker 1 (01:06:48):
That down the hill? And yes, So.
Speaker 7 (01:06:52):
What happened on the delay of the game that the
bus had to make a loop around or something to
time it down at the start of the game was delayed.
Speaker 1 (01:07:00):
What they showed them to get on there and how
they go around and all that. But like I said, uh,
I'm gonna admit it, I'd watch so much football at
that point. I didn't watch that game. I watched half
of it then went to bed, and just because I
was just because I just didn't have something left. It
was a game I was interested in. I just couldn't.
I burnt out. The thing about how Clemson gets on
(01:07:21):
the field, though a great tradition, seems like quite an undertaking. Yeah,
I know, and I got I got I'm dressed on.
Can we not just on the bus? I got my uniform?
Could we not just simply build a new facility up
there on the hill where they can you know, is
there no room up there? What's going on? We don't
have anything land I.
Speaker 7 (01:07:42):
Think they did.
Speaker 6 (01:07:42):
Okay, there's an old clip I just found real quick.
But y'all, there's the transition from the ramp to the field.
Speaker 2 (01:07:50):
I'm tearing my a.
Speaker 1 (01:07:51):
C There was a chance for injury, a big chance
from we get top heavy, for sure, there's a bit.
Speaker 2 (01:08:00):
I mean, I'm going down like the Oregon duck. If
I try to.
Speaker 1 (01:08:04):
Look at that, man, I don't think. I don't think
he dug like that Saturday. Yeah, I didn't see him
run like that. Let me ask you a question. How
relieved is Brian Kelly that they won that? Oh good night?
Isn't it funny how when you have these games like
at the even though they're just the beginning of the season,
how one one program walks away feeling phenomenal and the
(01:08:27):
other programs that we where this is?
Speaker 3 (01:08:29):
This is?
Speaker 1 (01:08:30):
This has been a big let Yeah, it's a little
early for both sides. Yeah yeah, but but you can't
help it in fandom. No, we can't help it. Fandom
we have. We have a tough time with it. We struggle. Yeah,
so speed, Yeah, I guess it's I guess it's time. Yeah,
I guess we'll hear from miss Nadmar Nicks and uh,
(01:08:53):
I just it just our years of him back in
the Rick and Bubby years on on bad losses, it's
it's usually ugly. Yeah yeah, but yeah, do you remember
last the fan perspective? Do you remember last year after
the Vandy lost? Oh? It was not good? Right, So
(01:09:14):
we'll see those of you that have been anticipating this
phone call and been asking for it all weekend. You'll
get it next. All right, here we go, Dickie, you there, Bud.
Speaker 10 (01:09:37):
I mean normally this time I'd be giving you a
road tide, but there'll be no more road tides for
this team.
Speaker 1 (01:09:42):
Oh wow, Dickie, Dickie nadmyre come on.
Speaker 10 (01:09:47):
You remember back when I was telling all of you
we needed to be concerned. If you recall, yep, when
the Crimson tide, My goodness, we're beaten by a hospital
with a max kind of quarterback.
Speaker 3 (01:10:04):
And I told the whole wide world this thing was
going downhill.
Speaker 10 (01:10:08):
Yeah you did, and nobody wanted to listen to me.
Speaker 1 (01:10:12):
Right.
Speaker 10 (01:10:13):
I've been calling for the board to be removed from
the moment he arrived on campus.
Speaker 7 (01:10:19):
Wait a minute, Dickie, is that you're not exaggerating a
little in your choice.
Speaker 1 (01:10:24):
Is that what you're saying?
Speaker 10 (01:10:26):
Have you seen what he did to Saban's office. We
used to have my hog in there, like Coach Bear Bryant.
Now it looks like we're looking in there like you're
going to get a new cell phone.
Speaker 1 (01:10:43):
Mobile kind of modernized it road.
Speaker 7 (01:10:46):
Well, Dicky, I mean you were in Tallahassee. How did
you feel pregame? Were you excited or were you worried?
I know you said you were, You've you've been worried, but.
Speaker 1 (01:10:56):
How how was it? Live?
Speaker 10 (01:10:58):
Very I'm very concerned about this program. And I got
emotional because I thought to myself, when I saw it
all falling apart, I've never been so happy that Harvey
up Doc is in.
Speaker 3 (01:11:10):
Heaven with Bear Bright, and I just prayed, with Lord,
Please Lord, don't.
Speaker 10 (01:11:18):
Let Bear or Harvey see this debucle this por excuse
a bunch of loafing.
Speaker 3 (01:11:25):
That was soft. I mean, it was the most embarrassing.
Speaker 10 (01:11:30):
I looked over at Phyllis, and thankfully she had on
a pretty modest and conservative brazier, and I said, take
you Crimson off, Take you Crimson off.
Speaker 3 (01:11:40):
I just start removing it.
Speaker 1 (01:11:42):
Dicky Nadma, you got to see it through.
Speaker 10 (01:11:46):
I ain't wearing no crimson for this port. Excuse for
a tide, it's a weak one. Come on, you can't
tell you know what they said on the Titanic.
Speaker 3 (01:11:58):
It's just a small league.
Speaker 1 (01:12:01):
It's unthinkable, isn't it.
Speaker 10 (01:12:04):
It's unthinkable. Ain't we de tied? We can't bring any
coach in. It ain't gonna matter. You know what I
said one time. I looked at the guy next to him.
I said, you know, Mike Shula has aged pretty well.
Speaker 7 (01:12:16):
There is a there's a lot to worry about. I
know you you're concerned, but it wasn't an sec opponent.
Speaker 1 (01:12:22):
Opponent.
Speaker 7 (01:12:23):
You have Louisiana and row next at home Saturday night.
Speaker 3 (01:12:26):
Well are you are you trying to come from me?
But I said, oh, good news, Dickie. You got beat
by a team in Acci.
Speaker 7 (01:12:34):
Well, I'm just saying you got two at home. You
have them, and then you have them in Wisconsin at home,
and maybe you can be two and one going into
see Georgia.
Speaker 3 (01:12:44):
There you go.
Speaker 10 (01:12:45):
I'm telling you, if we don't fire the bore I'm
talking about today, this thing is just gonna get worse.
Speaker 3 (01:12:54):
Can I ask her by question? Are we having fun?
It's everybody having fun. It's fun. It's not me like me,
no saving we having fun?
Speaker 1 (01:13:05):
How about that?
Speaker 7 (01:13:06):
How about that buyout though, Dickie, you wanted to get
rid of the boor worth every dime?
Speaker 3 (01:13:11):
You want to save the program?
Speaker 1 (01:13:13):
Yeah? I think so good. I think I saw that investment.
Speaker 3 (01:13:17):
Investment. I ain't going to another game. I'm out.
Speaker 5 (01:13:20):
What do you?
Speaker 7 (01:13:21):
I thought you were headed to Tuscaloosa?
Speaker 1 (01:13:26):
You're out?
Speaker 3 (01:13:28):
I mean I was so proud of my son. Know
you saw him on TV?
Speaker 1 (01:13:30):
Yeah, I thought that was him because it greg family
resemblance I knew, and plus the attitude.
Speaker 5 (01:13:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (01:13:36):
Well, a lot of a lot of people had it wrong.
They thought it was Peter or Johnson. That's my older boys. Okay,
but it ain't them. You know, they're they're out in
between jobs right now, but they're out on their own.
Speaker 3 (01:13:47):
And that was actually my Uh that's a little Dickie,
do is it?
Speaker 1 (01:13:52):
Okay? I've never seen such a heartfelt bird.
Speaker 10 (01:13:55):
Yes, I was so proud of him. I ain't never
been so proud. You know, I named it, you know,
after me, Richard Nadmire. Uh, And I do the dicky do,
because that you know, that's like he's he's the second one.
And of course that's the same word for the number
two in Spanish.
Speaker 1 (01:14:10):
Oh, I didn't know time I tell you this. He
must be a health nut. He was drinking michelob ultra.
Speaker 10 (01:14:20):
I talked my boys. Well, I said, don't don't take
a lot beer. Let's it's free. And uh and and
it was the fellow sitting next to him had some
ultra lot and I said, if it's free, grab one.
Speaker 1 (01:14:32):
Just grab it.
Speaker 7 (01:14:33):
So you you hold him way, I gotta go back
to Greg. So out of all that, you knew what
he was holding.
Speaker 1 (01:14:37):
Yeah, you can see it right there on camera.
Speaker 10 (01:14:40):
Well, if we don't drink light beer, we used to drink,
we drink Budweiser. We never did go to the gay beer,
so I didn't affect him. If we drink, we drink
Budwiser straight. The King of Beers as a region, it's.
Speaker 3 (01:14:55):
Called the King.
Speaker 7 (01:14:57):
All right, So let me ask you a question. I'm
just gonna ask it. Okay, does it hurt worse that
Malzin was thee coordinator.
Speaker 3 (01:15:04):
Well, you ever heard the term putting salt in the wound?
Speaker 1 (01:15:07):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:15:09):
And I saw him down there and he's always picking
his nose.
Speaker 1 (01:15:13):
You know, he really is.
Speaker 10 (01:15:15):
And I thought to myself, he's just sitting there picking
his nose and moving the ball up and down the field.
Speaker 3 (01:15:19):
Against the tide. Yeah, who, I understand.
Speaker 10 (01:15:25):
And tell you a bunch of loafing arm tackling a
weak soft. I mean, we got average players that don't
play hard. And last time we had that shoelder.
Speaker 7 (01:15:39):
And you say, he goes back to the coach, euh.
Speaker 3 (01:15:41):
Go back to hey.
Speaker 10 (01:15:42):
I'm telling you, maamination I promise you, if we don't
get rid of the board right now, this is gonna
be a disaster.
Speaker 1 (01:15:50):
I don't know. I think you know it's a little early.
Speaker 3 (01:15:52):
It's only going to get worse.
Speaker 7 (01:15:54):
What if they turn it around?
Speaker 3 (01:15:57):
Are they gonna turn it around the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (01:15:59):
And they'd be like beat Louisiana mon Roe, Wisconsin, and
like just shot Georgia.
Speaker 3 (01:16:04):
Oh we beat we beat lou Monroe.
Speaker 1 (01:16:07):
Well you got to start somewhere. Yeah.
Speaker 10 (01:16:09):
Yeah, I'm telling you it's time to stop it now.
And y'all hoping it continues, because I know the only
way you're gonna beat bamas.
Speaker 3 (01:16:15):
Just have a bad coach.
Speaker 1 (01:16:16):
No, No, we just try.
Speaker 7 (01:16:18):
We're trying Talkie down, is all. Don't give up its
game one.
Speaker 3 (01:16:22):
I'm out.
Speaker 1 (01:16:24):
He's mad. He's mad.
Speaker 7 (01:16:25):
Well, thank you for for colling. I don't know if
you're in the bathroom or not, but.
Speaker 3 (01:16:29):
Let me tell you this that what I am like. Yeah,
I am at which I've been sitting on the total difference.
I watched that we play. I look down in the toilet.
I say, there's their defense. Thank you, Dicky road tag.
Speaker 1 (01:16:48):
He's just so upset. You're gonna throw a donation toward
that seventy million.
Speaker 7 (01:16:52):
He's been upset before, guys, but I think you'll agree
he's discussed not this early. No, thank you, Dicky. Don't
give up, buddy, don't give up.
Speaker 1 (01:17:08):
He's told his family to take off their crimson. And
he says when he says rollside now, it's not directed
at the current program, right, that's kind of in the nutshet.
Speaker 8 (01:17:19):
And so that was it.
Speaker 1 (01:17:20):
Coming up tomorrow, Andy Andrews is back after about a
month hiatus, and then on Thursday, Larry the patch Man
and Carolyn will be here after dining at Speedy's house
the night before, and Gary will join that as well.
What about estimated time and then arriving. I don't know.
Speaker 7 (01:17:42):
I was thinking about that and we probably do need
to talk to him, either on or off.
Speaker 1 (01:17:46):
Okay, if we can make it work.
Speaker 7 (01:17:48):
We're starting at a four pm pickup you think, I
don't know, like pick him up at four all right,
because by lottime you fight traffic and get back you subtle.
Speaker 1 (01:17:58):
I'll be eating at five fifty, Karen, I want to
know what happened with us.
Speaker 7 (01:18:01):
A drafts he was very concerned about what he wears.
He's he's very nervous because I.
Speaker 5 (01:18:07):
Mean, you said, brag grag crag.
Speaker 1 (01:18:09):
I want to ask you a question.
Speaker 7 (01:18:12):
He hasn't done this before, right, and even y'all shouldn't be.
But are you any of you nervous being here at all?
So some of them are nervous, and they're not even
on air.
Speaker 1 (01:18:20):
Some of them relieved, they just got out of traffic.
Speaker 7 (01:18:22):
They're relieved, yes, yes, But he's so he's you know,
as he says, I'm a little nervous coming in studio.
Speaker 1 (01:18:28):
I've never done anything like that. It's a little bit nervous.
That's right, that's what he said.
Speaker 5 (01:18:34):
But Adler, Adler, Adler, Adler, Adler, I got a question
I want to ask you.
Speaker 1 (01:18:43):
He's asking about the Adler has about thanks for taking
those home? Yeah, and for some reason he won't play long.
Speaker 9 (01:18:53):
I know it.
Speaker 2 (01:18:54):
Okay, I don't remember getting them.
Speaker 1 (01:18:56):
Okay, listen, you got that did Ron one right when.
Speaker 2 (01:19:01):
I did a ride, Greg.
Speaker 5 (01:19:03):
It's not like.
Speaker 1 (01:19:05):
My buddy Ron I did Ron. It's not ride. That's
that's what you said.
Speaker 3 (01:19:16):
I never.
Speaker 2 (01:19:18):
I do have a serious question about patches.
Speaker 6 (01:19:21):
Uh, Larry gave us this board of patches here with
all the Alabama teaser.
Speaker 2 (01:19:31):
I think it's cool that it's all the all the
Alabama ones. Can we keep it?
Speaker 10 (01:19:37):
Can have it?
Speaker 1 (01:19:40):
Kidding thought it was a gift somebody asking if you
have your child.
Speaker 5 (01:19:47):
I'm sorry, I'll be taking my patches. It's all the
Alabama patches. It's a teaser.
Speaker 1 (01:19:54):
Look at that, he said, one of them displayed. You
can see them. Got to be the only listener we've
ever had that sent something for a teaser of their arrival.
That's not of course. Of course you haven't spent the
night over the listeners houses either. First when it first,
that's the first. That's the first since you got married.
Speaker 3 (01:20:14):
So h.
Speaker 1 (01:20:18):
What no useful? There were things you could go out
there and if he's at work, the but the so
so yeah, so that's gonna happen on Thursday. He's somebody
on textas as you're saying, I thought that was today.
It's Thursday, Thursday. Yeah, so so that's not him Colin.
You see his numbers. I can't tell. No, it's I
don't think Larry can get in today. Yeah he can can't.
(01:20:41):
Would they all work?
Speaker 5 (01:20:42):
No?
Speaker 1 (01:20:43):
Just something up to a couple of mount and then
you get some weird right I actually yeah, I don't
you want to try this right here?
Speaker 3 (01:20:52):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:20:53):
I don't think that's it looks like it's from like
the Huntsville call here, Ricky's made it the hunts No,
it's fine, don't worry. So Larry, if you want to
try to call us or we can call it, well,
you can't do that, have to. I would have to
call him baby.
Speaker 5 (01:21:12):
He is brag crag.
Speaker 1 (01:21:15):
So that's coming up. And this thing with Gary coming
up here, I don't think this is that's gonna be funny.
You better set them right in beside each other, because
as we said earlier, Gary not overly warm, No he's not,
and he really shuts down when he's uncomfortable. What's happening?
Huh where's this? I don't know where is it? That
on your phone? Right now?
Speaker 7 (01:21:34):
I'm just gonna see hey. Uh hey Larry speedy here,
Hey Larry, if he's busy, are you busy?
Speaker 3 (01:21:46):

Speaker 5 (01:21:49):
Enterpres bring a car right now.
Speaker 3 (01:21:51):
We're bringing a track car.
Speaker 7 (01:21:54):
You've written a car to come see us. Yes, oh okay, well,
I mean if you need to handle your business, go
ahead it. I was just gonna go over them.
Speaker 3 (01:22:01):
I thought his truck.
Speaker 7 (01:22:04):
By the way, Larry, we're alive right now. Everybody says
your truck looked fine. Just you don't think it to.
Speaker 1 (01:22:08):
Make the trip? No that Kerolyn said that that.
Speaker 5 (01:22:13):
Yeah, yeah, we didn't think of it make the trip.
Speaker 2 (01:22:16):
So we're going to we're bringing in a car.
Speaker 1 (01:22:19):
Okay, all right.
Speaker 7 (01:22:21):
Have you talked to him about patches in there?
Speaker 11 (01:22:24):
Uh?
Speaker 8 (01:22:24):
Yeah, we're putting that.
Speaker 3 (01:22:26):
No, No, we haven't talked about Okay.
Speaker 1 (01:22:29):
All ask him if we can keep the.
Speaker 5 (01:22:31):
Alabama bringing six frames of pattice okay six.
Speaker 7 (01:22:38):
We were wondering the Alabama, uh frame, could we keep
those patches? What the Alabama frame that you gave us
of Alabama patches? Could we just keep that no way.
Speaker 2 (01:22:53):
Larry, Larry, gift, we thought it was a gift.
Speaker 7 (01:22:57):
It's here, yeah maybe okay, well all right, yeah yeah, Hey,
I'm handing you over to Rick.
Speaker 1 (01:23:04):
Hang on. Hey, Larry, by the way, do you remember
you asked me to try to get patches from those
two campus police. Sure one of them is done, so
they should be sending it to us.
Speaker 5 (01:23:21):
Carolyn. Right here, here's Carolyn wreck.
Speaker 7 (01:23:26):
Hey, Carolyn, Hey, Carolyn.
Speaker 5 (01:23:30):
Everybody, Hey Carolyn.
Speaker 1 (01:23:35):
Yeah, I think that Larry wants me to tell you
that one of the two campus police patches he wanted,
one of them is on the way.
Speaker 5 (01:23:43):
Okay, great, thank you.
Speaker 1 (01:23:45):
Okay, is that something that you secretly wanted? This is
like a gift that you were after.
Speaker 7 (01:23:54):
Okay, let me see him.
Speaker 5 (01:23:57):
Larry, Larry, Larry, Larry, Larry, Yeah, Larry, Hey, I'm.
Speaker 7 (01:24:07):

Speaker 5 (01:24:25):
Here's Carolyn again. Okay, we'll take Okay, that'll be good.
Speaker 1 (01:24:31):
All right, Carolyn.
Speaker 7 (01:24:31):
I thought maybe we could pick y'all up and do
y'all mind putting like a pillowcase over your head when
we pull in.
Speaker 1 (01:24:39):
Very funny, Hey, Carolyn, do y'all like chicken?
Speaker 3 (01:24:47):
Yeah? You love chicken?
Speaker 5 (01:24:49):
Me too?
Speaker 7 (01:24:51):
Maybe chicken was a couple of sides and some corn bread.
Are y'all okay with that?
Speaker 10 (01:24:57):
Anything is fine?
Speaker 1 (01:24:59):
Okay, it's not true, not anything right, A lot of trouble.
Speaker 2 (01:25:04):
Please, No, it's okay.
Speaker 1 (01:25:05):
And let me ask you a question. We're having chitling
since it doesn't matter.
Speaker 7 (01:25:08):
Hey, Larry, would you mind if Terry smoked a black
and mile?
Speaker 5 (01:25:11):
Will you sure I wouldn't mind it?
Speaker 3 (01:25:17):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (01:25:17):
Yeah, you ain't gonna.
Speaker 7 (01:25:19):
Be cooked your Uh, it's cooked?
Speaker 1 (01:25:24):
Larry, tell the rental place. I need a car big
enough for eight frame patches. Carolyn. I know Larry's not
fired up at all, so we'll let y'all go. This
is the Rick Burdgers Show. I'm just gonna read what
(01:25:45):
you guys have tied to your Florida man struck woman
with s u V after she refused to let him
smell her feet. Oh this Arry came from d Is
this real?
Speaker 3 (01:25:55):
But it sounds?
Speaker 1 (01:25:57):
Yeah? This this seems to be extreme reaction from a
no your feet, my God, raise your hand if you
agree with me. I've never seen mental illness as high
as it is right now. It's at an all time
Ain't bad? Is that sniffer we had last week?
Speaker 3 (01:26:15):
Up?
Speaker 10 (01:26:16):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:26:16):
We had a sniffer last week? You don't even want
to talk about. Yeah, we had things and bookstores. Don't
it great? We had one technique, We've had it. We
had one. If he showed it people's feet, he would say, No,
I desire to go nowhere. I'm not stopping here. I'm
not stopping here. Claim I'm just talking. Sure, you're not
(01:26:36):
you're not the wow. So its like dog, here's a
news package. Adler looks like it's curtious. It's a it's
courtesy of Local ten news, Local ten News. So so here,
here we go.
Speaker 8 (01:26:51):
This guy asked to smell your feet, Yes he did.
Speaker 1 (01:26:55):
What did he say?
Speaker 9 (01:26:57):
Well, initially we had met up because I was going
to sell him my sneakers.
Speaker 8 (01:27:03):
She knew something didn't smell right when she met this guy,
al Mansey Circil at an Aventur hotel.
Speaker 9 (01:27:10):
When I got there, he just wanted to sniff my feet,
and I didn't feel comfortable with.
Speaker 1 (01:27:14):
That, so I have to stop you there. What do
you say when someone says I want to sniff your feet?
Speaker 11 (01:27:19):
No, no, I mean you could have my sneakers all
you want. I mean, I don't care.
Speaker 9 (01:27:24):
I'm not wearing them, and you know they're just stinky
old sneakers, but people like weird things.
Speaker 8 (01:27:31):
Then things got downright scary, she says. The suspect runs
out of the room. She thinks with her sneakers.
Speaker 11 (01:27:36):
I ran after him and I met him down in
the parking garage.
Speaker 8 (01:27:41):
She says.
Speaker 3 (01:27:41):
He ran her over with his car.
Speaker 11 (01:27:43):
He did a three point turn and actually hit me
with a car, ran me over.
Speaker 9 (01:27:49):
He ran you over, he ran me over, and by
the grace of God, I'm still standing today.
Speaker 1 (01:27:53):
She shows us the injuries.
Speaker 11 (01:27:55):
I've met a lot of.
Speaker 9 (01:27:56):
People who have foot fetishes, obviously, and nobody is done
anything to this caliber.
Speaker 2 (01:28:01):
She says.
Speaker 1 (01:28:02):
She's lucky to be alive.
Speaker 3 (01:28:03):
Were charged with aggravated battery a second degree felling.
Speaker 8 (01:28:07):
It is a rest report, cops say, after a view
of the defendant's background, he's been the subject and other
incidents involving the same modus operando.
Speaker 1 (01:28:15):
Yeah, short little thing, Yeah, I hope she makes it
with that wound? Oh yeah, good? Not is that really
baby bumps running over you? So he ran over you know,
he bumped You say he's just making it's all bad.
Do you think all he was trying to do is
you agree with him? Do you think he was just
trying to hit her just enough to knock her down
(01:28:36):
to this metal feet? I think it was that terrible,
that terrible wound. What have you said? No, I'm just
trying to not get down so and go to week
snail before you come back to I' call for helps.
Don't you think if you were a heart that do
(01:29:02):
you do you think, Kyle? Do you think that if
you were a foot fetish person? Okay, which that's gotta be,
I'm like the opposite.
Speaker 2 (01:29:11):
Yeah yeah, yeah, don't want to see him.
Speaker 1 (01:29:16):
You never to smell in his feet?
Speaker 9 (01:29:18):
No?
Speaker 1 (01:29:18):
I haven't. If I do, I don't remember Greg is
repulsed my feet. Yeah. But but but what I'm saying
is shouldn't they I mean, I'm just trying to help them. Okay,
it's probably not good for me to give us advice
seems pretty elementary. But if I was a foot fetish person,
I would not rest till I was selling shoes somewhere.
Oh yeah, I mean I would be a shoe sells.
(01:29:40):
You heard to buy her shoes, right, that's why they
met up. I mean you couldn't keep Facebook. There's a
few department stores that are still making it work. You
think I wouldn't be over in that department store, shoe department, Yeah,
get that shoe horn out. I'd feel like resumes. I
just feel like resumes like a Saturday not drunk. You know,
he keeps this. Everybody's like everybody, every every shoe place. Go,
(01:30:02):
are y'all getting this? All these resumes? The same guy.
He really wants to because pick and pay wouldn't really
work because everybody kind of takes care of themselves there.
Nobody helps you pick and pay, do they Shoe City?
You just go get your own, don't you try them on?
Nobody comes on the shelf. You need to go back
an old school department store. Remember this. We were all
kids and they sit down and put out there, put
your foot up and they measure your foot. He might
(01:30:23):
have be able to get through that, though, and once
they decided that these are the ones you want, and
then they go get the other shoe, right, yeah, and
how many times they come out and go I can't
find the other chief? Oh yeah, and that's the last
one I am at. My feet were growing at an
enormous rate when I was growing up, and I always
be a spectacle. Come with this kid's feet, you know?
Speaker 5 (01:30:41):
Hold?
Speaker 1 (01:30:42):
Are you remember they put your foot in that metal thing?
Speaker 3 (01:30:44):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (01:30:45):
But I mean if you're a foot fetish person, this
is a that's where you live. Yeah, this is where
you live. More common than you think. Ya.
Speaker 2 (01:30:52):
I think that. The cameraman on that news story said,
what's the big deal? Because I mean he was zooming
in on those feet for a long time.
Speaker 1 (01:30:59):
Yeah yeah, yeah, Hey, he volunteered and he kept that
be bro, How right.
Speaker 7 (01:31:06):
Is that part of the purchase? Because did she say
something like I'll buy.
Speaker 1 (01:31:09):
Your shoes if you let me smell your feet or
something to that. She was saying, if you want to
smell my shoes, fine, give me some money, you can
have them, and if you're not, you're not going to
smell my physical feet.
Speaker 7 (01:31:18):
But he didn't just grab her foot and try to
smell it. He asked if he could smell it.
Speaker 1 (01:31:22):
Well, at least that gentleman was I appreciate the purchase.
Can I smell your feet? What's the guy in the bookstore?
Just real quick, the guy in the bookstore, he tried
that a few times. He didn't go anywhere. You know, nobody.
You might get a foot person, But you know you, Greg,
I don't take a second you mind, mind, this is real.
This is a sniff may sniff. I'll tell you one thing,
(01:31:45):
if I if I've had the right account of the
kind of day, I can break him with that. Oh
you know, yeah, go ahead and take you with her.
Try that again, that barking dog, and let that dog
bark a little bit bark. Somebody's gonna break you for that,
but I guess they love that. They might think the
stinkier the better. God, weird people, Yeah, weird people have
(01:32:06):
real weirdos out there.
Speaker 2 (01:32:07):
And I kissed a fish last week, so you know,
I'm you know what, I know what I'm talking about, weird.
Speaker 1 (01:32:15):
I've got like a Demoor face looking at you, Greg,
sardine breath and there canay.
Speaker 2 (01:32:21):
He's still alive. I haven't killed him.
