(00:55):
ready to go? What up? Gulf Shores, Alabama. I'm the
Gulf of America.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
They're ready.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
I got my Army fitness test, but then I'll be
back with you guys. Well, good luck on man. I'm
glad to hear that you're still ready. Let's go America.
Tracy at Honda Manufacturing says Merge. I'm ready, Merge. We're
in Disney World, but we're still ready. Really wow? Okay,

(01:23):
Rodney and Thomas Cartage Drivers, they're in Gaston, Alabama. They're ready.
They got Z ninety three ready to go.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Holly Pond, Alabama is ready. The North Georgia Mountain Folk
are ready to go America. Are you ready? Laurel, Mississippi
says yes. Ruskin Packaging Hefflin, Alabama ready to go. Cleveand

(02:00):
he is in the hands America. Here's the question. Oh,
heading to the lake for some bass fishing. Oh, you're
ready a little cooler in the mornings you get out
there on the water. Daddy liked speedy Greg Adler all
ready to go today and really kind of had a

(02:22):
pep rally for the guys. How's everybody feeling feeling good?

Speaker 3 (02:28):
Feeling good?

Speaker 1 (02:29):
Well, it was one of those things, you know, I
really thought about it. It was, you know, you love
to bless people, and usually were the ones that are
always getting blessed by all of you out there bringing
us delicious food and all your goodies and taking care
of us. And we're just so blessed. By the way.
I'd like to tell Angie and Tuscaloosa the Wednesday Bible
Study guys were blessed yesterday. We had so much of

(02:53):
the chicken and dumplings. The men all took chicken and
dumplings home, a lot of them, and they were texting
me that's not going thank you Berg. Oh yeah, so Angie,
you fed about five of the men yesterday here in
the Wednesday Bible sty fantastic. But anyway, so so Sherry

(03:14):
has you know she's got some things she's working on.
I can't talk about right now, but it'll be maybe
something good we can announce in twenty twenty six ladies.
So anyway, so she's been hanging out with me and
then she said, hey, I got to get back to
work what I'm working on. And so I was sent
as a birthday gift back over the birthday weekend from

(03:38):
Scott Dawson Evangelistic Association. Always very kind. They sent me
stuff from omahall steaks, sides, steaks, all this for my birthday. Well,
it's a lot of food, and so I was. I
looked yesterday and I had four steaks. These are like strips,

(04:01):
you know, sirloin strips, and I'm like, these are going
to ruin before I can eat all of it. So
I made one for my dinner last night because I
was so low, and then I said, well, I'll bring
the other three to the guys. So I brought I
think that was a good dis all of you a
steak today.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Wow, it's awesome.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Now most people would have cooked that and said, you know,
after the show today, close to lunch, I'll have that,
but no, No, At four thirty am, I decided I'm
in and I have eaten my steak already.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
And at four point fifty am, I decided.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
Mine in Flicier.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
You smelled mine, boy, Yeah, you made it.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
You know, it looked really good if we if we
had the ability, and if I'd have thought about it,
I would have just gotten some of you guys could
have heated up in the microwave. The only thing that
was missing were eggs to put on the side. Yeah,
and if I if I didn't realize until I got
home for the day that I was going to do this,
so I would have picked up really dropped the ball.
I mean, we can't make it. We can't make eggs here,

(05:02):
but there's aren't there microwaveable eggs you can just put
in the microwave, scrambled, scrambling using the little things we
got in there. Now, I didn't have any. I didn't
have any eggs, but steak for breakfast. I've always been
a fan. I got to thinking about it, and I thought,
you know, after the show, that'd be a good little
little deal. And I thought that. I kept looking at it,
look at him, said I'm in, and then I influenced Speedy.

(05:24):
He's in Adler you're the last man.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
I'm about to be in. In fact, since they're from
Omaha Steaks or whatever, I would like one of y'all
to get down and like in a stance and I'll
be like, Omaha, and then you hike the steak to me.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
That's yeah. So so anyway, and I've told you and
I've told you this. You know, I'm I get. I
get when I cook, if it's my choice, I get
it from New York butcher Shop. Get right across the
street we go. So but what I did the old
sandwich that Yeah, what I did is I sold even
though these are you know, these are you know these

(06:01):
you know the stuff that comes in the mail is good,
but it's not like going to the butcher shop. Let's
just call it. So but what I did. But look
what I did, though, is I did the best. I
tried to combine the world. New York Butcher Shop has
a rub that I used. That is it's their own
rub that they created. It is so good. And that
was the rub. You just enjoyed all those stuff. Rub me,

(06:24):
rub me if you just joined us. But anyway, so
so that taddler. I hate to do this because I
know it's it's turned your world upside down. For the
love of all that's good in kind, can we talk
to to the tubers Tube City. We're so sorry about
the equipment breakdown.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
Well, I gave it a shot and initially it wasn't working.
I'm just all, I'm just trying things, guys, I'm gonna
be what about today And I'm on a two minute
streak of it not breaking.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
Are you serious?

Speaker 2 (06:57):
Yeah? So you know and rubbed. But we're so rubby
so far, so we're we're two and a half minutes in.
It did restart on me a little bit at the beginning.
I changed another thing and it's it's no touch a
thing about to hit three minutes guys.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
Back away. So the bottom line is the live option
is shaky. The the the archive option is even shakier.
But but Blaze TV subscribers, we we are able to
scrap together what you normally get and yesterday you haven't
gotten that one yet You'll you'll get that and you'll

(07:37):
likely get something from today. But what I would say
to the tubers, you know, stay with it. If it works, Uh,
it's going to be repaired completely. Uh in the next
few days. We think maybe worst case scenario Monday and
and you probably need to find another archive option too.
But our podcast archive is working beautifully. It's audio only,

(08:00):
but it really works beautifully. So if you're an archived
person normally on video, you probably want to go with
the podcast archive. And then if you're a video live person,
see what you think if it gets too shaky, tune
in app as an option. Radio affiliates are an option,
and a lot of the radio affiliates have their own
app to if you don't have them in your city,

(08:21):
so you don't. I mean, there's all kinds of ways
to get the show live and archived. This is just
one particular offering we have that's having some equipment problems.
We have the equipment, it's just the installation process is
gonna take time, so you can't just I mean, this
is a This is not just a take the damaged

(08:43):
piece out, put the new one in. It's much more
complicated than that it is.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
And I just hit four minutes.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
All right, so stop talking about it. That's a new high.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
Call me marathon man. Wait a minute your minutes.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
By the way, do you love up there of somebody
who says they're radio and text Nation hog Wallow, Kentucky
hog Wallow, and I like to have dinner there. Back
to the Disney family, sixty two hundred dollars a week
for Disney Rick Burgess show for free.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
Yeah, we have that Disney. We have a Disney story today.
The prices have gone up.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
I know that that. You know your granddad now, yeah, sixty,
I don't see you at sixty two hundred dollars a
week now.

Speaker 3 (09:27):
And we got the backyard, right, that's right, and they
love it as much.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
Sixty to go stand in line.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
And you know, I have to tell Terry this a lot.
When our grandson River comes over, she's got all this
stuff playing. I said, you know, I think he just
likes being here. You're right, we don't have to really
do a whole lot. Let's just let him go ride
bikes and play and go.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
They like the yard.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
You know when you were with the rock right now
and stick right, he's good.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
We don't need to go to some museum.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
He's fine. He's four some big items today. Trump is
there going to be peace in the Middle East at
least maybe for a little bit. And by the way,
by the way, Dolly Parton's sister having to come out
and walk back a little bit. Dolly's Not Dead?

Speaker 4 (10:14):
Is the Rick Burgess Show, Well, it's.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
Coming up Saturday, Share the Arrows October the eleventh. That

still like to go and be their Saturday in Dallas, Texas,
get your tickets now by going to Share the Arrows

(11:06):
dot com. That's shareth Arrows dot Com. Let's unpack a
few things. Well, there's a lot out there today and
we'll just take it bite by bite and we'll work
our way through it on the program today. So Yesterday's
Wednesday Bible Study archive is audio only. We were not

(11:27):
able to capture it on video. Again, we're getting all
that resolved. Next week should be fine. But it's audio only.
So if you're a person that says, hey, burge, I
go back and watch the the Bible Study on YouTube
channel it just go to the podcast channel. It's there
audio only. Mom complained, did she oh, yeah, she wanted to,
but there was something wrong with you, mom. Mom catches

(11:50):
the Bible Study Adler on Wednesday, depends on it and
listens to the show on YouTube. Mom's a tuber.

Speaker 2 (11:56):
Sorry about that game now, but right now I.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
Would like to focus.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
Did you just call her Gaynail?

Speaker 3 (12:03):
I know why you did.

Speaker 1 (12:05):
A lot of people do, a lot of people do.
That's not that bad. Now, people who you know, don't
know her and think never other other than people that
should love her, but you know they don't know any better.

Speaker 2 (12:15):
I said it wrong once that I immediately correct. It
was like, wait a second, that's not how it's ship,
miss it.

Speaker 1 (12:21):
That's when we all have common names because people rig
We're at one of the doctor's appointments and then and
the nurse comes out the door when they yell your name.
I don't know what she thought it was. We weren't sure.
We're like, yeah, I can't remember what it was, but
it wouldn't even even resemble it. No, she my mom's
name is yah is Ganeale and Greg and I and

(12:44):
it drives her crazy. And uh, A lot of times
people call her gay nail because I think there are people.

Speaker 3 (12:50):
Named g A W G E.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
She's g e y uh and then Ja Naille gets
that a lot and uh and so, like I said,
she named her kids simple names because she said her
whole life, no one could pronounce your name. Yeah, like
when I was growing up, that'd be just like four
Greggs in my class. It's been popular. Sure.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
Whenever we took Cuddy to the vet this other day,
we were sitting in the car and they called out
and said, hey, they were ready for him. She said, hey,
we're ready for Coody. I said, said, okay, he mean
he got cooties. I said, okay, we'll bring Cuddy in.

Speaker 1 (13:24):
Yes, okay, you mean Cuddy Wilburn, aren't you. He's daddy,
his granddaddy.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
His daddy's at work, So we're doing them a favorite.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
Somebody said. Somebody said the other day when we said, hey,
you weirdose if we're his daddy, we need to be arrested. Yeah,
somebody said the cars road. All right, so Speedy calm down,
Greg and I whah, whoa Greg and I are going
to get behave fact sheet. Yeah, he's literally giving us.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
Well I always give y' all one page's coming in, okay,
and this is just your one pager for today, so
you don't crap all over it.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
If you were listening yesterday. Speedy's nervous because he's got
somebody coming by who's a PGA pro.

Speaker 3 (14:09):
See how you're raising your eyebrows, David, I'm sorry, but now, Davis,
he's probably having to drive a couple hours to get it.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
Can we can we just need him and just say hey,
nice to meet you.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
You know That's what I'm asking. Can you just do that?

Speaker 1 (14:22):
If he would have came early, I to share a
part of mistake. Oh yeah, I hate to I hate
to break this taddler, but guess what's on his fact sheet?
Adler and Joy enjoys watching the Wednesday Bible still do
on YouTube?

Speaker 3 (14:32):
Oh yeah, yesterday's sitting on archive. He didn't know what's up.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
We're not to hit fifteen minutes, no problem. I would
like for you to announce nothing could go wrong now.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
For some reason, Adler and why and why does Speedy
think this that we want to know how to act
around as somebody that he didn't want us to embarrassing?

Speaker 3 (14:50):
Yeah, what it's really this, Uh, you know, behind the scenes,
we all kind of have what we do and we
don't just stay in our lanes. Times we'll go over
and somebody else's lay to help. Well, we're not, you
know above that. And but my job normally is to
remind you of things it is, and and also give
you information so you're not lost, you know. So I

(15:12):
just all I'm doing is just giving you a one
page or so. When he walks to that door, you go, okay.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
Greg, let me tell you.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
Member, Kendall Graveman was sitting in the seats and we
didn't even know it. Remember that.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
But I want to say this great his booked seats
and came this is pretty big deal. This is what
it is. Still with my shirt, Greg, Speedy has a
life away from you and me and and Adler. But
I think it's you and be he's most embarrassed off
when he goes into his golf world belong. He thinks
we're kind of.

Speaker 3 (15:40):
I get it is.

Speaker 1 (15:41):
You are rude. You think we're roubes. Do you think
we're like you know, and we're not. They're not.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
We're smart.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
These are my cousins. These are my cousins. I'm a
little bit embarrassed of, you know, you know, as so
long as we're hanging around in another world, speedy does.
He doesn't care about it. But we go on that
golf world. He wants us back, right. It's like you
watch Four Christmases, you know, when goes home and his
two brothers are there, and you know they're a little
rough like that.

Speaker 3 (16:09):
I think it's it's you know, we're.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
Not gonna I want Davis Thompson. Who's driving here right now, David, Davis,
Greg and I look forward to meeting you.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
Yeah, David, you look forward.

Speaker 3 (16:19):
To meet David Thompson. Act huh it is but he
just called him something else, David Thompson. Is it Thompson,
It's Thompson, but it's not David. It's Davis, David Thomas.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
David is my wife's maiden name. David.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
I can remember David Thomas.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
I thought Dave Thomas invented Wendy's. He did, Dave.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
We're off to a run the Wendy's guys coming here today.
What I understand.

Speaker 1 (16:46):
Apparently from apparently from which you know, that's very Halloween, right.

Speaker 3 (16:51):
So I just wanted to come watch a little bit
of the show. All I wanted to do. And I
just gave you a piece of paper. Let you know
what was going on. Well, his dad gave me some
funny stuff about him.

Speaker 1 (16:59):
But you dressed, you dressed, gregging me down a little bit, yes, yesterday?

Speaker 3 (17:02):
Well, yeah, I did you blame me.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
It's called track record. I do like some of the
speech and dad used to give us. Yes, you all
know act right, Yeah, we should get that from our
dad all.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
Night a lot over the years, and it seems to
just be a wasted effort.

Speaker 1 (17:15):
Well, you know what you're asking to Greg? That one
is you're asking Greg when our dad asked him many times,
even when he was little. Yeah, Greg, why be such
a turd? Yeah, you go like a third about it.
And our dad asked Greg that a lot.

Speaker 3 (17:29):
Did I know he's not answered.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
I didn't have an answer.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
I know you had to answer that.

Speaker 3 (17:34):
I know we didn't play in the NFL, but I mean,
I just want you to be nice to him.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
He's a human being. That's baseball player.

Speaker 3 (17:42):
No, he doesn't play in Major League Baseball. He plays
on the PGA tour. He's a professional, and so I like,
you know.

Speaker 1 (17:48):
But he Davis, I'm so sorry, Davis Thompson yep is
coming by to say hello.

Speaker 3 (17:57):
Yeah, he's just a fan of the show. And he
and I have been corresponding over the last year or
a year and a half. And he's finally close to
the station and said, hey, I'm in for the Uh.
He went to Georgia, played college.

Speaker 1 (18:08):
Sorry toiler.

Speaker 3 (18:09):
Sorry, and he's in for the Auburn game, and said,
I'm going to be close by, so why not? Why
do I make the trip see a little bit of
the show. It loves the Wednesday Bible study and uh
and loves the show.

Speaker 1 (18:21):
And okay, before this kind of neat do you think he's.

Speaker 3 (18:25):
On the tour and it's extremely well and he turned
pro in twenty twenty one.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
Which which we're not going to embarrass you, I promise know.
And it's kind of weird. My brother in lost names
Tommy Davis.

Speaker 3 (18:36):
How about they go whatever it takes.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
Greg, how about this, you better worry about Adler more
than you are because of the Auburn Georgia thing. Well,
because you know Adler, he's orange and blue baby this year,
and you know he may, like you said, the quarterback
holding the Boston right. Yeah, how about this.

Speaker 3 (18:55):
I always wish I could just meet him somewhere just
for lunch. Yeah, or maybe do you know parking lot
password with him and.

Speaker 1 (19:03):
We're not here and you bring him here and show
him the studio. Yeah. Yeah, maybe I'm a little shocked
that we did.

Speaker 3 (19:08):
You go to the bathroom and I'll, i'll like give
him a tour.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
And Greg, aren't you a little shocked? Dad? Aren't you
a little shocked that Speedy would think that we had
the potential to embarrass him around his friends? Yeah? I
mean at that time they had the naming of the
new high school mascot. It went well, it did go great. Yeah,
we went really good.

Speaker 3 (19:24):
Sure did still get stopped about that still to this day.

Speaker 1 (19:29):
All Right, we'll be back. Bottom of the hour was one.

Speaker 2 (19:32):
Well, can't wait to ask him if he likes to
dip his fries in the in the in the chocolate smoothie.
I'm gonna ask him about that.

Speaker 4 (19:39):
It's not Wendy, this is the Rick Burger's Show.

Speaker 1 (19:49):
Dolly Parton m HM Dolly's sister God lover kind of
send everybody into a panic that Dolly was dying a
little bit. Dolly's had to come back and say love
my sister. She means, well, the thing I found, well,
she just doing that. Dolly just not feeling good. Y'all
remember in her prayers and it blew up. Well, she

(20:09):
think Dolly was in drunk. But her presentation, I'm not
trying to you know, the sister. I think she meant well,
but your sister is Dolly. Pardon yeah, it's not Aunt Louise. Yeah, okay.
And she threw out there to the public as if
Dolly couldn't communicate with us. Hey, yeah, mystery illness, y'all

(20:31):
need to pray for Dolly. It was not well, it
wasn't thought out. It cost a panic, and now Dolly's
had to come on to her own video. Yeah, so
to dial it back. Here she is, this is her dollars.
You came over here.

Speaker 4 (20:45):
I want to say something.

Speaker 5 (20:47):
One of today's October the eighth, And obviously I'm here
doing some commercials for the grand Ola Lobbry, which ish
whine griss kind of like old country Western girl. But
before I got started, I wanted to say, I know
lately everybody thinks that I am.

Speaker 1 (21:04):
Sicker than I am. Do I look sick to you?
I'm working hard here.

Speaker 5 (21:09):
Anyway, I wanted to put everybody's mind at ease, those
of you that seemed to be real concern, which I appreciate,
and I appreciate your prayers. Because I'm a person of faith,
I can always use the prayers for anything and everything.
But I want you to know that I'm okay. I've
got some problems. As I mentioned back when my husband

(21:31):
Carl was very sick. That was for a long time,
and then when he passed, I didn't take care of myself,
so I let a lot of things go that I
should have been taken care of. So anyway, when I
got around to it, the doctor said, we need to
take care of this, we need to take care of that.
Nothing major, but I did have to cancel some things

(21:51):
so I could be closer to home, closer to Vanderbilt,
you know where. I'm kind of having a few treatments
here and there. But I wanted you to know that
I'm not dying. Did you see that there was that
Ai picture of Rebe and me. Oh lordy, I mean
they had Reba at my deathbed and we both looked

(22:11):
like we need to be buried. But I thought, oh,
my lord, but if I was really dying, I don't
think Reeba would be the one at my deathbed. She
would might come visit me earlier. But anyway, they're just
a lot of ends flying around. But I figured if
you heard it from me, you'd know that I was okay.

(22:35):
So anyhow, that's what I wanted to say. And I'm
not ready to die yet.

Speaker 6 (22:40):
I don't think.

Speaker 5 (22:41):
God is through with me and I ain't done working.
So I love you for caring and keep.

Speaker 1 (22:47):
Praying for me. She'd be dead in two days. Yeah,
you're not.

Speaker 2 (22:54):
Why would you say that?

Speaker 1 (22:54):
Right, you're not about it.

Speaker 2 (22:56):
She's having some treatments done, so it does sound like
she's having some kind of recurring treatments done.

Speaker 1 (23:03):
Mystery illness or sister said, Yeah, that video didn't ease anybody.
Sister's in trouble, and if they can put up a
fake picture of her and Reba, that video could be
fake too.

Speaker 2 (23:14):
I took a shot at Reba a little bit.

Speaker 1 (23:15):
We're not that close. Well, she was saying, if I'm
on my deathbed, it's gonna be family and riba and
are friends. She would come see me while I was sick.
But she's not going she's not gonna make the inner
circle of the deathbed.

Speaker 3 (23:29):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (23:35):
Yeah, that's not the takeaway all this ai Oh.

Speaker 1 (23:41):
My god, well you can tell us a by the way.

Speaker 3 (23:46):
What's Greg? You're the doctor, Greg?

Speaker 1 (23:47):
Yeah, I didn't realize that. What's Greg doing? What am
I doing?

Speaker 7 (23:51):
There?

Speaker 1 (23:51):
By the way, have you noticed it? When we were
growing up? Not, by no way was obese, but remember
she was bigger, but then she lost all that you
going and you know, and managed to keep it off,
but it made her head look like two sides. Oh
my gosh, can this be what you're talking about? You
ever noticed that? You remember back in the island in

(24:13):
the stream days? Very she won't know base but no, man,
her head looks like you're saying she was a little.
That's a deceptive because that's.

Speaker 2 (24:24):
Look at that's not the thing that doesn't look like
it goes with her body.

Speaker 1 (24:29):
Okay, and you know, all right, let saying that video?

Speaker 3 (24:35):
Could could that be a video?

Speaker 1 (24:36):
Be she got little?

Speaker 3 (24:38):
And why did you say it like that?

Speaker 2 (24:42):
That's this is Dolly Parton And I won't stand for
the making fun of her.

Speaker 1 (24:45):
Listen, I'm making fun of her. I'm just making an observation. Everybody.
Everybody correct me if I'm wrong, Rick, We didn't. We
just got an update from Dolly Parton on the fact
that that she her sister made us all think she
was dying. She comes home and reassures that she's alive.
Our reaction is, should be dead by monday and her
head's really has that been? Our response?

Speaker 3 (25:08):
Is that?

Speaker 1 (25:09):
Is that how we mean? Is that how we just
handled that? Yeah, we didn't. Wonder you said about your
friend covered. Maybe we should have took breath. I'm just
saying what you say, oh, breaths, and they're right, it
made all that. Yeah, No, I will say that she
went so thin that it made other things all look

(25:30):
even larger. Yeah, not just your head, to your point
and to adlas one, yeah, and which it's one of
the there were a couple of things I didn't think
could look any larger. I was wrong, but but there
you are. So I'm not sure why that was our update,
but we well so, but well, this is very similar

(25:54):
and I've seen some people, well, Rick, don't don't compare
these two things. I think when just stopped. I's you're saying, no, no,
I'm gonna say this, and I've seen this is not
I've seen this on two videos I've watched lately of
people who have really large platforms, and they're trying to
come out and reassure us. I'm not saying it's any

(26:14):
of our business. Don't hear me saying that. I'm just
going to state the obvious. When you have something like
this and you still won't tell everybody what you're being
treated for, even though it's none of our business, I
acknowledge that. But when you say, hey, I'm fine. Look
I'm cutting some commercials for the Grand O Opry. My

(26:34):
sister threw out for y'all to pray for me, and
then that was the time to say, let me tell
exactly what's going on. So I'm not dying.

Speaker 3 (26:43):
I am.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
I am some things I need to take care. When
you keep leaving it a mystery, what are you being
treated for it, Vanderbilt? What are they? And I know
that it's none of our business, really, I understand that,
but until everybody has the you had the floor and
you did clear up. Look at me, I'm doing fine,
but that you left enough gray area that people are

(27:04):
still going to continue to go. And look, we've all
had this, Tay. What it reminds me of? And I hope,
I'm glad she's okay, and I hope she's gonna be fine.
But this, this is that same feeling you get when
your coach holds a press conference and tells the fan
base he's not leaving and taking that other job. And

(27:24):
I had no way I'm leaving. I'm fine, you'll quit.
Worried about that, and then of course what do they do?
They leave? And so now one thing reassuring us makes
me think she's even more sick.

Speaker 3 (27:33):
Now, one thing she has confirmed she had a kidney
stone infection from kidney stones.

Speaker 7 (27:39):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
And I don't know if it's something that has to
do with okay, Maybe I have no idea. I love
Dolly Parton, Okay.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
Love Dolly Party's music. I love Dollywood.

Speaker 1 (27:49):
Thank you Dolly.

Speaker 2 (27:50):
I have bad problems like I assume that she does too.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
You had to go there, didn't.

Speaker 2 (27:55):
I'm say I love Dolly Parton. She's she was big
at one point.

Speaker 1 (28:01):
She was not never like fat. She was just a
little thicker.

Speaker 2 (28:04):
Ooh, I hate to miss that.

Speaker 1 (28:06):
I'm sorry, once YouTube started working, you just I forgot
we were.

Speaker 8 (28:20):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (28:20):
We We've got a number of things to cover today.
If we want to give you a little bit of
a big headline today, this big one. Hamas accepts Trump's
peace plan ending two years of war in Gaza and
they're going to return the hostages. Now. This is the

(28:41):
thing that even opponents of Trump said if he can
orchestrate this, that even they will give him props and
think he should get the Nobel Peace Prize. Correct, am
I I remember all that? Right now? Is everybody gonna
take that back because it actually apparently has happened. Now,
I don't want to be a Debbie downer. This is

(29:04):
not going to hold. But what I'm talking about for
time for right now, we're just gonna talk about what
has happened and give credit where credit is due. And
as of right now, there there's a piece agreement that
both sides have accepted and Hamas is going to return
any hostages they still have.

Speaker 3 (29:23):
Correct, Do I have that right?

Speaker 1 (29:24):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (29:25):
And and that should be done by Monday that all
of them return now. Unfortunately, and it's sad that not
all hostages are still alive. Well that's so uh they
they will have to return the bodies. But that's the
that's the agreement. Now, there was a pretty special moment
that made the rounds uh. President Trump went on Hannity

(29:46):
last night and announced this deal and and then he
uh he called one of the families of the hostages
and and talked to them about it, and the family
with their reaction. It was just a very special moment
because I and I was talking to Greg about that.
I can't imagine if you had a family member or
a loved one that's been hostage for two years and

(30:07):
you don't know where they are, if they're okay, they're
not okay. And they said that some of the hostages
are going to be quickly returned and it's easy to
find them, but others and I didn't know this that
to hide them, Hamas were hiding them all.

Speaker 2 (30:25):
Over the world.

Speaker 3 (30:26):
You know that they have to get them back now
and find out where they are. And so it's quite
the ordeal. But that is the that is the part
of the peace agreement, which is really really big news,
very big news.

Speaker 1 (30:39):
Sont Yahoo said in the statement, with God's help, we
would bring all of it, would bring them all home.
A great day for Israel. Tomorrow, I will convene the
government to approve the agreement and bring all our dear
hostages home, he said. I think the heroic soldiers of
the IDF and all the security forces. Thinks to their
courage and sacrifice, we have reached this day. I think

(31:03):
from the bottom of my heart President Trump and his
team for mobilizing for this sacred mission of freeing our hostages.
With God's help, together we will continue to achieve all
our objectives and expand peace with our neighbors.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
So, and I think part of the if I understood
it correctly, so Israel is going to release two hundred
and fifty prisoners as part of the deal in exchange
for the hostages. And so once all the hostages are back,
then they will release the prisoners.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
Hamas announce in their official statement, after responsible and serious
negotiations conducted by the Movement and the Palestinian resistance factions
regarding President Trump's proposal with the aim of ending the
war of extermination against our Palestinian people and with the
withdrawal of the occupation from the Gaza Strip, HAMAS announces

(31:56):
the reaching of an agreement that ends the war on
Gaza provides for the withdrawal of the occupation, allows the
entry of aid, and implements a prisoner exchange. So there
you go. That's both sides with their comments. Will all
of those that said if this happened they would, even

(32:22):
through gritted teeth, complement Trump and his negotiations the part
that he did play and his administration played in what
will be a historic piece accord. Now, do I have
confidence that this will last for generations to come, No,
because it won't. But you just got to live in

(32:45):
the now and for now this is a good thing.

Speaker 3 (32:48):
And it's real special too because right here at the
anniversary of the two years of October seventh attack on Israel,
kind of being the same week and then and then
announcing piece still and getting those hostages back, yep, that
this is this is well, this is quite the moment.

Speaker 1 (33:05):
Listening to the left and unfortunately some of them on
the far far alt right, it's almost as if we
forgot that Israel was attacked.

Speaker 3 (33:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (33:14):
Uh, And I've heard many people pretend that Israel attacked
Hamas on October seventh, but that did not happen. So
hopefully this will kind of resolve all of that too.
But but it would not surprise me if we can't
even get to Monday without it breaking out again. But

(33:34):
we're just going to report the news as it's happening now,
and we're gonna, you know, celebrate what hopefully we'll hold
for a while. Anyway, any any period of peace is
better than no peace at all. So top of the hour,
we will we'll be back. We have much more to

(33:55):
cover on the program today. We will delve into Greg's
big weekend coming up I'm finding and uh, we'll get
to some of your unscreen phone calls. We've got some
hay Bird stuff today too. As the Rick Burgess Show continues.

Speaker 4 (34:11):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (34:20):
So the gang here, Speedy, Greg and Adler. As as
we start this brand you I were together and uh, Greg,
we've been discussing off air, and I know that coming up.
There's there's there's a lot of things that we have
trained people on out there that just bring fear uh

(34:41):
into your life. And we've talked about the first time
if you're new with family, you hear the term family portrait. Yeah,
that's a nightmare. We're hosting the Christmas this year, we're
hosting Thanksgiving, any of those things. And it here's that

(35:01):
you are hosting and in law gathering. You know, we
had we did a story on this. Uh, probably the
last time everybody got together. You'll remember that long time ago.
But back then I had a truck that needed to
be moved.

Speaker 3 (35:14):
And yeah, weeds growing around.

Speaker 1 (35:17):
Yeah, I'm not in that situation. But it's it's the
return of the Davids gathering. So you're hosting your in
laws far and wide at your house. Leas's uh, siblings, cousins.
Give me a number. I think it's in the thirties.
Oh yeah, and which means because everybody really cares. First

(35:39):
of all, I had to clean the windows on the
outside of the house. Clean the window, which I do.
I stay on top of that pretty good. Of course,
you do all that, and then it rains and you
go well, and it streaks it again. Yeah, but we
haven't had to worry about that because we haven't had
any rain.

Speaker 9 (35:53):
No.

Speaker 1 (35:53):
But yeah, and then of course we got to get
a new patio furntures. He speedy pulled up in the
old patio furniture that the Amelia has chewed up, which
I answered with left, she shoot, you chewed this one up.
This this new that we're buying set, she's probably gonna
chew it up to.

Speaker 3 (36:08):
Yeah, wait to wait to put that out thirty minutes
before they all get there.

Speaker 1 (36:11):
Anyway, So Lisa and her sister they found some spray
they're supposed to spray on stuff.

Speaker 3 (36:17):
It doesn't really, there's way it's gonna work. I've tried it.
It's a bitter taste and they like, I don't like that.

Speaker 1 (36:22):
But she don't chill. It doesn't work. Understand, we tried
it too.

Speaker 3 (36:25):
Don't work now, it doesn't work now. Just behind the
scenes here is that we're the crap run. And Lisa's
sister comes up and goes, hey, you ready for the
gathering Saturday. I had not heard about it. And his
reaction was, oh, yeah.

Speaker 1 (36:37):
And you got to get everything, and the checklist is clean,
the windows, you get new patio furniture because your dogs
chewed up the other. Yeah, and we had the other good.
We've got her money's worth out of it. But Milli, yeah,
she likes to chew on them. But Millly is there
and again is to stop her from chewing The new
is something we think will make her a spray she

(36:58):
which will not think she's like a billy go the
things I see her eat, No, spray's gonna stop.

Speaker 3 (37:03):
Has she outgrown that though?

Speaker 1 (37:04):
Or sheep? Now, she hasn't outgrown No. And there's like
a rug in the garage that we keep down that
they'll sleep on. She grabbed. I'm talking about heavy one,
the big ones. She'll grab it and start doing all
this and slinging it and pile it up a big
files corners off. I love it. You love that. My
favorite things. When she used to wiring on the garage door,
that's happened about four times. I've had to fix it. Yeah,

(37:27):
that's your favorite.

Speaker 7 (37:28):
This is that's right.

Speaker 3 (37:29):
It had the puppies that y'all had.

Speaker 1 (37:30):
Yeah, but anyway, so yeah, we're look. I get it.
It was time to getting new outdoor furniture. I get that.
But you are you doing serving it up to a
monster out there that's gonna chew it up? Okay?

Speaker 3 (37:43):
Remember the love seat that flew out the back of
his truck? Oh yeah, so when of it? When I
pull up, I mean, we all park right there beside
each other, so I obviously see that there's all kinds
of furniture in the back of his truck. It was
looked like outdoor furniture, but you could tell it was
all tied down. Oh my gosh, because it because I'm like, well,
he learned his lasses.

Speaker 1 (38:04):
Where are you taking? Where are you taking this to
the dump on the way home? The dump on the
way home? Okay, I can go right through there. Okay,
all right? So what do y'all think is going to happen? First?
I have three having to go home, then go to
the dump. I get it on the way. What's going
to happen? First? Number one? The peace agreement that we
just talked about will be violated. Dolly Parton will pass

(38:28):
our Greg's dog with you up the new furniture.

Speaker 2 (38:30):
Dog, I'm moving for the dog.

Speaker 1 (38:33):
Dodger will get you. I just wish it would wait
till after Saturday. Greg, I'm with, I'm with Speedy. Don't
put it out their two faces? Nobody stuff on it.

Speaker 3 (38:44):
Oh no, I would. I would put that somewhere and
then like literally Saturday morning.

Speaker 1 (38:48):
No, I guarantee you right now, because there's a rug,
said them outdoor rugs. She put one of them down
back there and put the new furniture. She'll grab hold
of that outdoor rugs starts you know to do that
trick where they pull the tablecloth off. She's gonna do
that and have it in a big wade.

Speaker 3 (39:02):
Because is this where Millie could cross Lisa and being
a handle.

Speaker 1 (39:06):
I don't think at least it didn't like her doing that,
but she she didn't feel. She don't get as mad
as I get. So if Millie were to take the
Davis family gathering, tear up the furniture y'all just bought,
including the new outdoor rug, would that do it? Could
you didn't get rid of this dog? No, no way,
this is not but oh and don't forget when everybody

(39:28):
gets there. We got to lock her up because she
growls at everybody. Is that gonna be in the garage? Yeah,
which makes her maid, makes her eat the wiring on
the on the.

Speaker 3 (39:37):
Okay, lock me up.

Speaker 1 (39:41):
I guess who's the common denominator on all of them.
But he don't bother. Now he's gonna bark at you,
and he's gonna bark for no reason, which gets on
my nerves. He did yesterday when we're outside puting Pattio
furniture out and squirting it. Sure he's barking and there's
nothing there. He just wants to bark that drive you crazy.
But Milly comes up behind you go alright, so got
a horrible ground?

Speaker 10 (40:02):
How's this happened?

Speaker 9 (40:06):
You?

Speaker 1 (40:06):
You have clean windows, you've got new patio ferns, you've
got a new outdoor rug. You're spraying bitter stuff on
the new stuff. So you the dog that was a
stray by the way, that birthed nine puppies in your
garage and you should have got her fixed, that's right?
But h and then don't forget passed out with the
illness and couldn't feed them. So we had to fi
handfeed them for weeks, eight of them. Uh So what

(40:27):
else is left for you to do? Because I know
that if you've ever If I got some flower bed work,
I got to finish up, okay, spread a little more
mo wait to hide the weeds? Well, I killed them,
I sprayed them, okay, Then I had to yank them
out of there. Though, how's your yard looked?

Speaker 7 (40:43):
Oh good?

Speaker 1 (40:43):
The yards on said, look what about your hayfield? It
could be better?

Speaker 3 (40:47):
What about your ditch with all the weeds?

Speaker 1 (40:49):
Good? Perfect? Perfect?

Speaker 2 (40:50):
What did you get to the outdoor? Where'd you get
the outdoor stuff?

Speaker 1 (40:53):
I don't know she ordered it somewhere, showed up at
the house in boxes. Oh yeah, oh oh oh oh,
Let'm back up reverse and thank god. I feel bad.
My brother in law and Lisa's sister came over to help.
Trying to assemble those things. Oh yeah, the little holes
never line up, and you know, you're talking about chairs,

(41:15):
and it was. It was horrible. If they hadn't showed up,
I wouldn't have got it done.

Speaker 2 (41:20):
You should have invited Rick.

Speaker 1 (41:22):
I was standing by it. You don't want Before they
showed up, we were showing yourself. Yeah, they send you
all this stuff. You got all these boats, and they
send you a little Alan wrench. I put it together
with that's infuriating. And I'm pretty good with the Alan wrench. Well, Rick, okay,
but so many moving parts on it, so many they
were I was so mad. How's your overall disposition? That's

(41:44):
been pretty good? Is what you had to be. Everybody
knows you beneving.

Speaker 3 (41:49):
I got to know.

Speaker 1 (41:49):
I got a pretty good at you. I got a
little aggravaty. She probably said I had a bad attitude,
but I got a little bit dealing with the furniture,
putting it together. I didn't like you start holding court.
Did you pitch one little go you go? You get
one chair final together and you look, it took forever.
You look, there's three more plus two more that are
a little different style to me. Ordering furniture that's not

(42:14):
fully assembled? Is it was hard? I always say, can
we just not go somewhere by it, put in the
back truck and bring it home fully assembled.

Speaker 3 (42:23):
That's before you were handy.

Speaker 1 (42:24):
Well that's for us.

Speaker 2 (42:25):
I bought a tree stand last week picture and it
is in a thousand pieces, just laid.

Speaker 3 (42:31):
Out on my back deck right now, like a double ladder.

Speaker 2 (42:34):
Yeah, yeah, like a bench bench stand.

Speaker 1 (42:37):
I got new land, got a new lenderstand.

Speaker 2 (42:39):
Yes for the land, a little bow acreage. I mean
I will, and I say that, I mean, let me
do it.

Speaker 1 (42:47):
I'm gonna transition to out of thee because let me
just go ahead and get on record of predicting this
with Adler. He's going to stick a deer and not
hit it good. Yeah, And it's gonna bleed all over
his neighbors, falling through everybody's yard and dying. Somebody's dripping
off one of his kids screaming. And I can't wait till.

Speaker 2 (43:05):
That shit that's not gonna happen. The deer stand is
for nature looking. Okay, bird watching?

Speaker 1 (43:11):
How big it is?

Speaker 2 (43:12):
Watching stand?

Speaker 3 (43:13):
Okay, bohunter a bird watching stand?

Speaker 1 (43:15):
Okay, meat eater.

Speaker 2 (43:16):
I did get my deer feeder up and rocking and
my multi camera, but that's neither here nor there.

Speaker 1 (43:22):
No great win is this event that Saturday? Give me
a time eat your Saturday? Yeah? Yeah, two thirty.

Speaker 2 (43:29):
You're gonna have the games on during this or is
it gonna be too formal for that?

Speaker 1 (43:33):
No, it's not that. So you'll you'll catch you'll catch
a lot of food. You'll catch Missouri, Alabama early and
maybe Alburn. It'll be winding down, isn't isn't all.

Speaker 3 (43:43):
That's gonna be going there?

Speaker 1 (43:44):
No, it's just like it. You have scragglers. I'm telling you. Well,
no I know that now.

Speaker 9 (43:48):
No.

Speaker 2 (43:48):
Yeah, they'll hang longer than you want.

Speaker 1 (43:50):
Yeah. Yeah, and it's and it's uh and you'll say,
all right, I'll well you got the upstairs done ready? Yeah,
it's well, there's a rick. Yeah, listen tomorrow tomorrow. I
can't wait to hear now the yard is good because
I didn't do it. I haven't got that. You got
you're going to the dumb coming to the flowers today.

Speaker 2 (44:12):
You got bulch, you got enough, I mean SODA's you
got enough soda sodas.

Speaker 4 (44:18):
You got So it is Rick Burgers Show.

Speaker 1 (44:27):
By the way, there's a brand new kids shirt at
Rick burgesshow dot com. It's got hay Bird on it
and all of us in cartoon form.

the new show. I loved the Rick and Bubba Show
and always will as you should, uh for the for
those thirty one years. But I am really enjoying the
new show as well. While similar, it is its own
thing and I'm loving every minute of it. Thank you. Anyway,

(45:19):
I was scrolling Fox News as I normally do, heyro
and I saw a picture, uh, and I thought it
was Adler. Underneath it says Uber driver arrested for igniting
deadly Palisades fire. Yeah, and it looks just like Adler.
Has Adler been arrested? Will you please interview him today

(45:41):
to be sure we know it wasn't him. It looked
like have you seen It's like, have you seen this guy?

Speaker 2 (45:48):
Looks like he's related to Antonio Banderirez or something that does.

Speaker 1 (45:54):
Doesn't look like same high Wow, say they had a
lineup of people he was in it, you and they
would round you up to be in it, to be
in it at or they wouldn't pick you, but you'd
be in it. Yep.

Speaker 2 (46:07):
No, uh huh Oh that guy looks lost and directionless,
and I look like I'm I'm on a path to
victory and success.

Speaker 1 (46:18):
Okay, well, I want you to know since this guy's
pictures come out, there was more than one email about
that and some text people too.

Speaker 3 (46:25):
Yeah, we've gotten text Jonathan render connect.

Speaker 1 (46:29):
I guess.

Speaker 3 (46:32):
They arrested him. He's moved to Florida since then, but
they went and arrested him yesterday.

Speaker 2 (46:37):
I did live in Florida for a while.

Speaker 3 (46:40):
In Texas, he lived there in palis Age, you know
when that thing.

Speaker 1 (46:45):
Of course, then he just because I had images on
his phone burning and all of a sudden, he was
like obsessed whether or.

Speaker 2 (46:52):
So ago located his phone. He was uber driving New
Year's Day and look at this by the way in
his in his mug shot.

Speaker 6 (47:00):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (47:01):
I love the hand that's just coming out from the side,
that's just holding him there. That is funny looking.

Speaker 1 (47:06):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (47:07):
But evidently he was uber driving. Uh New Year's Day,
went out on this trail. Like you guys said, he
had pictures of like he used jet chat beat GPT
to generate images of people running away from a fire.
This guy he lights the fire, the he leaves the scene.
He actually reported the fire.

Speaker 3 (47:31):
He wanted to help him put it out.

Speaker 2 (47:32):
Yes, he saw the fire trucks coming back the other way.
He doubles back. He goes back up the same trail
to take video of the fire and them trying to
put out the fire. Evidently, this fire smoldered underground for
a week, reignited because of high winds, and that's what
caused the Palisades fire. That is what I understand.

Speaker 1 (47:52):
I know, weird right and kill people, the weirdos. He
wanted to help put the fire out right. First of all,
I don't think that in the practice of just letting
anyone help with the fire. Yeah, no, I have fireman
for that. I got some more here. Apparently he was
into French rapping. He loved French rap. Song that's always about.

Speaker 3 (48:11):
I said that he was listening to a song and
I won't even begin to try to pronounce it, but
said it was about isolation, exhaustion and escapism, the songs
meaning now. And he said he was fluent in French,
grew up there in France.

Speaker 1 (48:28):
That I was wondering why in the world would he
be into French rap, But I guess if you grew
up in it maybe, And sadly wears a Smoothie King
shirt that's way too.

Speaker 2 (48:37):
Tight French metal band guys, So that's me, not him.

Speaker 3 (48:42):
This claimed the lives of twelve people. Yeah, tens of
thousands of ages.

Speaker 1 (48:47):
I'm sorry you didn't do it. You just look like it, right.

Speaker 3 (48:51):
He looks so like him, it's not that much. I
mean if he was just like if somebody said.

Speaker 2 (48:57):
Do you think you look like Cyrus the virus from Connair.

Speaker 3 (49:00):
Y'all tell me, I do you know?

Speaker 9 (49:01):
You?

Speaker 1 (49:01):
Do you do?

Speaker 6 (49:03):
Now?

Speaker 1 (49:03):
He's older now, the guy that played it, thank you, Malcolm,
And sadly, you don't look like there's a version of me.
It looks just like that country singer that fights got
a lot like him, whatever his name. I'm not proud
of that. And it's not current me, it's it's pasted me. Yeah,
same go team.

Speaker 3 (49:18):
You admit you look like Jimbo Fisher.

Speaker 1 (49:21):
I don't, Yes, Greg, I don't, Yes, Greg looks like that.

Speaker 3 (49:27):
I mean like the palisade.

Speaker 1 (49:29):
What I would Greg has the point on the palace,
states say, And I'm sorry to tell you this, Adler.
You would be cleared, but you would be arrested if
they said, here's what it was, witness. Yeah, and they
saw you first stay through a sketch right.

Speaker 3 (49:42):
Right, like you were walking in Walmart.

Speaker 1 (49:45):
Now there he is, but he's got a liner.

Speaker 2 (49:47):
Here's a here's a police sketch of what I look
like right here. You remember great Fabio, great Fabia.

Speaker 1 (49:56):
Do you remember the time the foot of him on
the roller coaster and in the face a duck, wasn't
it or something?

Speaker 3 (50:03):
I remember that it was the best that Yeah.

Speaker 1 (50:06):
So you remember that bloody like bloodied the bird?

Speaker 3 (50:11):
Yeah, he was wiping it off.

Speaker 1 (50:13):
What are the odds of that.

Speaker 10 (50:14):
He's like, my beautiful face, didn't there it is?

Speaker 1 (50:18):
Yeah? And again I go back to this again. Now
why is he popular? I can't remember me? Good, look,
I don't know what. Did he don't sing? Wasn't he
like the like the person that they would do use
him on the front on the these of those the
romance yes, yeah, the porn books that women read, yes, yeah, yeah,

(50:38):
and me all right, we'll be back.

Speaker 2 (50:42):
My favorite was the Pirate series.

Speaker 1 (50:43):
Oh yeah, that's terrible.

Speaker 2 (50:48):
Look like him, yeah, exactly, like.

Speaker 1 (50:52):
People are saying that I like Charles Spurgeon, but don't
do that to Charles Spurgeon. We'll be right back, stay close,
all right. So this is that thing where Speedy plays
sound clips and Greg and I do we have to

(51:12):
try to guess what's going on here. And so what
have you got for us today, Speedy?

Speaker 3 (51:21):
This is disturbing, Okay, I mean like extremely disturbing.

Speaker 1 (51:26):
Okay, you had extremely.

Speaker 12 (51:30):
So we put everybody through a body scanner to make
sure that they're not trying to bring guns and knives
and drugs into the jail.

Speaker 3 (51:39):
Okay, So you got that.

Speaker 1 (51:40):
We're body scanning people to be sure they're not bringing
anything into the jail. So this guy's going to jail.

Speaker 3 (51:46):
This is This is Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd talking.

Speaker 12 (51:53):
You might have thought Walter was bringing drugs into the jail.

Speaker 3 (51:58):
I could understand that being a big deal, like making
sure that's not happening.

Speaker 1 (52:02):
They should not be bringing drugs in. So Walter is
a prisoner, correct, right.

Speaker 12 (52:07):
He brought a thermost into the jail. He put it
up the exit ramp. He said, well, I put that
inside my body twenty four hours earlier. He saved his life.

Speaker 1 (52:19):
He was trying to walk in with the thermost, a.

Speaker 3 (52:22):
Fifty one year old going into jail right after an
X ray because they do a body scan. All right,
realized he had a full sized thermost.

Speaker 1 (52:35):
No, I got to know, now, what are we talking?
What do we talk? I mean, just the smallest thermost
seems like that, you know, because it is an exit ramp. Crazy.
I know there's some people out there that don't know that.
But it is an exit ramp. There is, and honestly
it appears to be. It appears to be if it's

(52:56):
a loading dock, which normally is just for an exit.
It doesn't seem that like the it seems like that
the thermost and the garage door they don't work. I
don't know how that would physically take place. I don't
know why. I don't even like thinking of it.

Speaker 2 (53:17):
But guys, I found an X ray.

Speaker 1 (53:19):
No you did not know? You did not? No, no,
don't you dare?

Speaker 3 (53:23):
Is it a rattler?

Speaker 1 (53:24):
Come on? What kind of thermost is it? Edler?

Speaker 9 (53:27):
Is?

Speaker 2 (53:28):
So?

Speaker 1 (53:29):
This is so disturb even.

Speaker 2 (53:33):
I'm gonna show it to you here. It is.

Speaker 13 (53:37):
Good.

Speaker 3 (53:40):
It's touching his it's touching his ribs.

Speaker 1 (53:43):
How they are?

Speaker 6 (53:47):
How many?

Speaker 1 (53:48):
How about trying having to insert that bless his heart? Well,
you mean bless his heart.

Speaker 3 (53:52):
He's obviously mentally disturbed.

Speaker 1 (53:55):
He's it does a lot Paposo Stanley thermos.

Speaker 2 (54:00):
It does. It's a full sized thermisk.

Speaker 3 (54:02):
So the complaint, here's the backstory, good night. The complaint started,
what was in it with an ordeal of a naked
man excuse me at a park?

Speaker 1 (54:14):
Excuse me?

Speaker 3 (54:15):
And so now, yes, so somebody called in and complained
that there was a naked man inside the restroom at
a public park. So we asked, is he is he
nicked or butt naked? And you know, because there's a difference.

Speaker 12 (54:28):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (54:29):
And I guess if you're a police officer and you're responding,
you want to know, uh when they choke?

Speaker 1 (54:35):
I mean like then that was some kind of comedy
skit difference.

Speaker 3 (54:40):
So but when they got there, this guy, Walter Fremeyer,
whatever his name is, fifty one, had all of his
clothes on. So the deputies just escorted him out of
the park, okay, and they uh naked right, Well, they dug,
they dug a little one, they dug a little deeper,

(55:00):
and he they they let him, let him get out,
and he trespassed again, and so they arrested him. And
I think he has been to state prison five times.

Speaker 1 (55:13):
According you may explain why it fits. Uh Rick, Now
we see, now we see how you got that, Richard. Okay,
there's the Stanley. I actually have one of those, by
the way when I get home. Right, that's uh great, Greg, Hey, is.

Speaker 3 (55:38):
I don't know how you even?

Speaker 1 (55:39):
I don't. Yeah, And here's what I'm thinking about. There.
It looks like it has that coffee cup on top.
It's a Stanley, so you so it's got it's got
the right the handle, handle's got to work through there.
I won't know what is that what you're holding one
to know what's in there? I mean, what's so important
sneaking in that. I'm gonna shove that up. It's the

(56:00):
most bitter coffee you've ever done.

Speaker 2 (56:05):
I'm trying to see if he was trying to smuggle
something into the prison, but I think it was just
just the thermost.

Speaker 3 (56:10):
But surely there's I'm sure they're making some coffee.

Speaker 1 (56:13):
Does a thermist?

Speaker 3 (56:14):
Is he trying to But this is one of the
They had.

Speaker 2 (56:19):
To get a special would special They took him to
the hospital. They had to find a specialist. It was
quite the ordeal. But he's thermost less in County jail today.

Speaker 3 (56:33):
How do you even think about the surgeon's day and
they don't know when they wake up, I've got to
remove a thermist.

Speaker 1 (56:40):
How about this? When I would went to lunch if
I was that surgeon, If I was that surgeon, I
went to lunch that day with with you know the
guys I hang out with, have lunch with from time
to time. I would say him, I got any stories.
You'll want to get out of the way because I
want to tell you about my day. Yeah, believe that,
I promise you I've got the story of the day. Yeah.
And by the way, you might need a thermist.

Speaker 3 (57:00):
So I just I've got I'm just I've got this
face I've got.

Speaker 1 (57:04):
I mean, people are saying, maybe he's just keeping the
coffee warm. Maybe wasn't the Yeah.

Speaker 3 (57:10):
This is unbelievable.

Speaker 9 (57:12):
That is.

Speaker 1 (57:14):
That's here that seems anatomically impossible.

Speaker 3 (57:18):
Possibly some hot chocolate.

Speaker 2 (57:19):
M hmm, here's the specialist talking about it.

Speaker 1 (57:22):
Oh really, yeah, tell me you're making this? Okay?

Speaker 3 (57:25):
Is this the lady that passes out?

Speaker 2 (57:26):
No?

Speaker 14 (57:27):
Okay, that's terrible, terrible?

Speaker 1 (57:40):
Who made his coffee? Tastes like?

Speaker 3 (57:46):
Rick, you're running the X ray, You're you're running the Yeah.
And and they're checking in and you did the body scan, right,
you think we're looking for drugs? Guys, you come running
get us.

Speaker 1 (57:57):
Guys, just like I just laid down just a minute there, Walter,
and this a good night? What is that? Holy moly,
like an animal in there.

Speaker 3 (58:08):
I don't know how you get it in in or out?

Speaker 2 (58:12):
Oh my god, better out than in. I always say, that's.

Speaker 1 (58:14):
What they always say. People are now send us pictures
of the actual third. Yes, a Stanley, I got a
Stanley just like that. Yeah, Actually I have two of them.
Go ahead and laugh at that. Somebody I never look
out on the same I'll tell you that I heard
somebody said, I've heard her trying to have something to
trade for smokes in jail. But this is absolutely this
is crazy. Did what I got? I got a thermoist

(58:35):
good night.

Speaker 3 (58:37):
I can't sorry about that. I had some other stuff
I wanted to play all.

Speaker 1 (58:40):
How were in the story? It says what was in
the thermost? How do we even know they is a liquor?
How do we continue to.

Speaker 2 (58:51):
Guys?

Speaker 3 (58:51):
It's it's so big on the X ray, I knows
literally touching his bottom rip?

Speaker 1 (58:58):
How can its just?

Speaker 4 (59:02):
I mean, this is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (59:15):
Uh, buddy, we're so we're so traumatized by this last
thing that you did last segment. Yeah, I don't know
that any of us. We're having a hard time going on, period,
and you want us to listen to more of your
little audio clips that kind of trauma. What do you
got next?

Speaker 3 (59:32):
There's that there's three of them, but I'll just go
to this one next.

Speaker 6 (59:36):
What do y'all?

Speaker 1 (59:37):
You know?

Speaker 3 (59:37):
And people are just what bring me down just for
a second there. People are just you don't know what
they're going through and and and you can't go anywhere anymore.
And take a listen to this.

Speaker 15 (59:47):
Good gracious, I'm afraid for those that are working that
are still employed there. And she asked her to give
her the shirt that she wanted the shirt, so the
lady of course told to no, she wasn't going to
give her the shirt. Came back with a gun, waving
it at everyone going in the store. When the lady
seen her, she pointed the gun at her head, and

(01:00:08):
the little girl just laid there in like fetal position.

Speaker 3 (01:00:12):
What what we're at a family dollar in North Carolina?

Speaker 1 (01:00:16):
All right? And what's the difference of family dollar versus dollar? Different? Bunch? Similar? Similar? Okay,
this is where we go to Greg. He's the family
dollar has more. Okay, family dollar has more. Closed dollar
General is the one that's taking over the world, that's more.
And isn't there a dollar store? Okay? Okay, that's what

(01:00:36):
used to Everything costs a dollar? Thanks, like a dollar
in seventy five.

Speaker 3 (01:00:39):
Now yeah, and uh so, apparently a lady's in the
family dollar North Carolina. Compliments a lady and the lady says, well,
thank you, and then she says, well, well, give it
to me, I want it, and then and then escalated for.

Speaker 1 (01:00:56):
That which NASCAR driver was on it? And I don't
think they give that all right. So a woman is
in the Family Dollar with a NASCAR shirt on. Yeah,
another woman likes it so much she wants it at gunpoint.

Speaker 3 (01:01:10):
Yes, yes, here is news rounds everybody up, put them
back in the school. This is what is it? W
I don't know what this is anyways? Is a news
at five WSOC. One of the locals there.

Speaker 16 (01:01:21):
Take a listen, and it says a fight over a
NASCAR shirt in a North Charlotte Family Dollar led to
shoppers being threatened with a gun. This all happened yesterday
at the store off North Graham Street, and Channel nine's
Joe Bruno talked to witnesses.

Speaker 3 (01:01:36):
He joined us wine just.

Speaker 10 (01:01:39):
A bizarre but scary crime.

Speaker 17 (01:01:40):
The start with a woman demanding another woman's NASCAR shirt
and ended with that woman bringing in a gun, threatening
everyone and getting arrested. There are bars on the windows
of the Family Dollar on Graham, but customers and employees
say more security is needed after a disturbing and scary
situation Monday.

Speaker 15 (01:02:00):
Very upset about it, and I'm afraid for those that
are working that are still employed there.

Speaker 18 (01:02:07):
This person who didn't want to be on camera is
family of someone who is inside the family Dollar Monday.
She says it all started when a woman complimented another
woman on her NASCAR shirt and then demanded it off
of her.

Speaker 15 (01:02:21):
She asked her to give her the shirt that she
wanted the shirt, so the lady, of course told to no,
she wasn't going to give her the shirt.

Speaker 10 (01:02:28):
That led to a fight between the women.

Speaker 18 (01:02:30):
Witnesses said the person who demanded the shirt at one
point was throwing water bottles out of the cooler, but
things got even more disturbed.

Speaker 10 (01:02:38):
She left and came back inside.

Speaker 15 (01:02:40):
Came back with a gun, waving it at everyone going
in the store.

Speaker 18 (01:02:45):
Employees got most of the customers to the back of
the store and then called the cops, but a teenager
wasn't able to make it in time.

Speaker 10 (01:02:52):
That's when they say the woman threatened her.

Speaker 15 (01:02:54):
When the lady seen her, she pointed the gun at
her head and the little girl just like they're in
like fetal positions.

Speaker 18 (01:03:01):
SEMPIT officers arrived and were able to subdue the woman
and make an arrest. The woman's child was with her
during the whole.

Speaker 15 (01:03:09):
You can't do anything because you just don't know what
you know, what people are thinking, you don't know what
they're going through.

Speaker 3 (01:03:16):
I really wish I knew what was on the shirt.

Speaker 1 (01:03:18):
I gotta know what. Look, I'm not saying she should
have done it, but I sure would like to know
what NASCAR shirt.

Speaker 3 (01:03:25):
It was?

Speaker 1 (01:03:26):
It a classic, maybe a tribute to three?

Speaker 12 (01:03:29):
What?

Speaker 4 (01:03:29):
What?

Speaker 1 (01:03:29):
What shirt was? She really wanted it?

Speaker 7 (01:03:32):
She did?

Speaker 1 (01:03:34):
She wanted the NASCAR shirt. Okay, we're not we're not
talking about somebody trying to rob somebody over a Rolex. No, No,
a NASCAR shirt she could probably not just any shirt, NASCAR,
SASCAR shirt, but nearly her favorite driver it must have been.
I really want to know what that shirt was. I mean,
I need to know what was on that shirt, that

(01:03:58):
NASCAR shirt. So that's not in the story.

Speaker 3 (01:04:00):
No, it's not. This is a feel good story here, Greg,
this is for you. But yeah, take a listen to this, Greg,
tell me what you think.

Speaker 13 (01:04:07):
I had to tell my coworker. I was like, I'm sorry,
this has to wait, Like I have got to tell
people about Francine right now. Yeah, it's just super super exciting, inane.

Speaker 1 (01:04:16):
Not keep it quiet. The whole city needs to know
about that.

Speaker 13 (01:04:18):
Without the more eyes that we got on it, the
more likely it was that she would be found. So
I think really without that public outpouring of support and
may not have moved as quickly as we want it.
Every moment was critical and finding her.

Speaker 1 (01:04:29):
You know, somebody was lost.

Speaker 3 (01:04:31):
I was lost, Francene.

Speaker 1 (01:04:33):
Somebody. What do you think? I say's an animal? Okay,
it's not a human because these people care too much.

Speaker 6 (01:04:39):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (01:04:41):
And employees at Low's in Virginia are celebrating after they
got their cat back this week.

Speaker 1 (01:04:46):
I knew where did it go?

Speaker 3 (01:04:47):
Francine? The cat's been living at Low's in Richmond since
twenty and seventeen. Can I take the customer love? They
love Francene customers do.

Speaker 1 (01:04:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:04:56):
She wanted Huh, she wanted her back. This is one
of the employees. So they started an Instagram page because
she wondered. The cat did onto a truck and ended
up in North Carolina and they got so two of
the employees started an Instagram to find it. Uh, And
they ended up finding Francene and she was brought back
to loads.

Speaker 1 (01:05:15):
You know, I also knew it was some sort of animal.
And you and I knew it was likely to be
a cat. The guy sounded gay, Yeah he did. That
was in the comments. Listen he did cat or a Yorkie.
Listen to. That's why I could not keep it quiet.
The whole city needs to it, So you keep it quiet.
The whole city needs city.

Speaker 2 (01:05:34):
We stood out.

Speaker 1 (01:05:35):
Yeah, we had to find Fancy. I had to city.
Now we had to find Francine. Honestly, I don't think
heterosexual men are all that concerned about finding a cat
that lives close.

Speaker 3 (01:05:49):
The truck drove back to the distribution center uh that
Franccene jumped on. It's about a one point four million
uh square foot facility, and Francene was found roaming around
on the security cameras well, thank goodness, and they got
her back, thank you, because you know.

Speaker 1 (01:06:03):
We have a shortage of cats. Thank goodness, Thank goodness,
we found four more. A cat that hangs out and
gets fed at Low's right, Thank goodness. Does that have
a little vesta?

Speaker 3 (01:06:14):
But what's the most changing real quick before we go
to break, what's the most expensive hamburger you've ever eaten?

Speaker 1 (01:06:20):
Well, what do you comment?

Speaker 3 (01:06:23):
I'm just throwing this in there.

Speaker 1 (01:06:25):
Five guys, five guys. Okay, no, No, the most expensive
ever is there is a restaurant in Birmingham. Uh huh
it's on the south side with the you know, was it?
What's the award that chefs win James Beard, James Beard
an award chef all has a hamburger. I think it's
it's chef on Fun and I think it's like it's

(01:06:47):
like sixteen eighteen dollars.

Speaker 2 (01:06:50):
Wow, guys, five guys are pretty much there too.

Speaker 3 (01:06:53):
You're right, well, there is a story here that we
don't have time for. I'm just throwing this in there.
A Spanish chef made a burger so expensive you need
an invitation to eat it. It costs eleven thousand dollars
one bird.

Speaker 1 (01:07:08):
That better.

Speaker 14 (01:07:10):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:07:11):
There's a luxury restaurant in Spain.

Speaker 9 (01:07:13):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:07:14):
And this guy has raised some eyebrows. That's gone viral.
A single hamburger is eleven thousand dollars.

Speaker 1 (01:07:21):
If you eat that, you just you make so much
money you don't know what to do with it. This
this story and sadly eleven Adler Uh, sadly yesterday in
the Bible study. If you're going back and catching the archive,
I have to come back now and and change that. Adler,

(01:07:42):
thanks for letting me know that. You know, they started
this this campaign about is is it? Is it Korean?
Or Kyne Korean, Lacey Kiren Lacy, Yeah, about this horrible
car crash that you know. Unfortunately he and up taking
his life. Former l s U player, and he also

(01:08:04):
spent some time in the NFL as well.

Speaker 2 (01:08:06):
He was projected to go well yeah, but.

Speaker 1 (01:08:11):
So people started saying that new evidence showed that he
had nothing to do with the car crash that cause
to death. Uh, and he took his life, you know, thinking,
you know, because his life had been ruined by the accusation. Well,
Pat McAfee is tell me what's going on and kind

(01:08:33):
of update me because now we've got an apology from
Pat McAfee. What is actually happening?

Speaker 2 (01:08:39):
So you said it. There was some footage that came
out that showed Kyne's car way far behind where this
accident occurred, and everybody was saying, see, the police framed
this LSU football player. The police got witnesses to say
things that weren't true. This is this wasn't his fault.
He took his life, which is horrible and sad and tragedy,

(01:08:59):
and so on Monday, with that footage coming out, a
lot of people ran with this and said, wow, I
can't believe the police framed this LSU football player who
took his own life. This is horrible. He didn't cause
this accident. Well, then there was more footage that came
out that kind of refuted that and went against it.
And actually many many people said two cars, as Kron

(01:09:21):
was in the wrong lane traveling very fast, two cars
swerved out of his way. That's what all the witnesses said.
And unfortunately, this footage that came out on Monday was
misleading and it made it seem like it wasn't his fault.
But more footage than later came out and showed that actually, yeah,
the people that got in the accident were trying to
avoid this LSU football player. And I thought this was

(01:09:43):
big on Pat McAfee to actually, I can't believe this
aired on ESPN. This apology, yes at all.

Speaker 1 (01:09:49):
So here it is.

Speaker 19 (01:09:50):
We also tried to cover news that we feel is
good for people to learn, potentially get provide a little
bit more context. On Monday, we learned of a video
that was made publicly available by Kyen Lacy's lawyer, and
it what we thought showed more context to the accident
that inevitably led to the tragic loss of two lives

(01:10:10):
with Herman Hall who dies in a car accident and
Kyen Lacey, who later ends up killing himself because of
the fallout of everything in which he was accused. We
thought we had more context. Now more video has been
made publicly available and it shows even more context where
Kyen Lacy's driving on the wrong side of the road
and could have very easily made the case that he
caused the car to swerve and caused the tragic accident.

(01:10:31):
We apologize for adding any more heat and will continue
to stay on top of the news breakings in this
story because obviously it's tragically sad and involves an athletes
legacy we'll see in the next hour.

Speaker 1 (01:10:42):
So they had to clarify that, and then Levin b
is the misinformation was out with that is this is
what everybody started on Monday and even caused me to
make the comment in the Bible study yesterday because all
I had was the information that McAfee and everybody else
was reporting on that.

Speaker 2 (01:10:59):
Ryan Clark, Yeah, Ryan Clark has engaged in quite a
bit of race baiting.

Speaker 1 (01:11:04):
Yeah, lay, he's.

Speaker 2 (01:11:05):
An ESPN guy and he has he When that initial
footage came out on Monday, he went on a pretty
big rant talking about how Kyen Lacey was innocent and
he has not. He has not, unlike Pat McAfee, Ryan
Clark has not clarified this. He has not fixed this.
He has not said you know what, hey, I was wrong.

(01:11:26):
I jumped to some conclusions.

Speaker 1 (01:11:27):
Yes, yes, I beg your pardon.

Speaker 3 (01:11:29):
I didn't want to a clear space for this one second.
It's important.

Speaker 20 (01:11:32):
Yes, guys, Kyraen Lacy was supposed to be in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (01:11:36):
Kyen Lacy accused.

Speaker 20 (01:11:38):
Of something and being investigated for something that he didn't do,
and he died having to live with the guilt and
the consequences of a guilty man knowing he was innocent.
It recently was discovered that he was seventy two yards
away from the crash. That were police and state policeman
tried to cool hurtz and doctor and use ways to
manipulate statements that put this young man behind bars. They

(01:12:01):
changed his joy, they changed his life, and eventually he
took his own life. This was supposed to be a career,
but at least he was supposed to be here at
some point throughout his career. I would expect to set
his name, So I'm gonna say his name tonight. Klin
Lacey was innocent.

Speaker 1 (01:12:18):
Well unfortunately, now that's wrong.

Speaker 12 (01:12:21):
Yea.

Speaker 1 (01:12:22):
So of course I don't know that we'll ever get
an apology from Ryan Clark.

Speaker 2 (01:12:26):
But that clip is that clip is still on Ryan
Clark's Twitter and he has not issued any kind of
follow up clip at this time.

Speaker 1 (01:12:36):
Yeah, so I don't know. So I don't know what happened.
We were and I was all I was using, was
using as an example yesterday of sometimes things appear to
be a certain way, and then new information comes out,
often that we should wait until all the information is out. Well,
apparently that is still true. You have to wait even
longer for all the information to get out that might

(01:12:57):
refute a state like that. So sadly, it looks like
that the original concern of Kyraen Lacy's driving was a
legitimate concern, and the because let me tell you, just
when I heard that, and I had not heard that,
I would have been suspect because the information I got

(01:13:20):
was that he was twenty something. You know feed or
yard behind. Now, notice when Ryan's talking about it, he's
up to it to seventy something, so even the number
keeps changing on how far away when they were trying
to clear him that he was from the automobiles. So
we'll see if Ryan Clark clears that up. There has
been additional footage that has come out that has Pat

(01:13:43):
McAfee issue issuing an apology. And of course, in the
Bible study yesterday, the analogy I was making still as true,
but the example I used apparently was flawed.

Speaker 4 (01:13:55):
So so just fy on that.

Speaker 1 (01:13:58):
Top of the hour. We'll be back. More to come U.
We'll get to more of your unscreened phone calls if
we dare before today is done. More stories to cover,
h and we'll continue to work our way through another one.
If you're willing to stay with us, we'd love to
have you. Here's some things to talk about. First of all,

(01:14:22):
let's get an update, Adad, I may pause what I
told you because we just got breaking news, so speedy,
this is very important. We did a story earlier. We've
done a few that traumatized us. Uh. This one was
in North Charlotte. It involved a family dollar store, right
a woman liked another woman's NASCAR shirt so much so

(01:14:46):
she tried to take it at gunpoint. Correct, correct, rut
all the customers into the store. Yeah, full blown, you know,
armed person in pursuit of a desirable NASCAR shirt. Yep,
we have tri I had to call Family Dollar. We
cannot get anybody on the phone. Yeah, we were trying
to shocking they want to We wanted to call them
because we have to know. We have to know what

(01:15:09):
NASCAR shirt. It was so speedy when that was going nowhere,
savvy on his feet started reaching out to the actual
reporter in the story. Yep, and the reporter has.

Speaker 3 (01:15:20):
Replied, Yeah. Joe Bruno, who was the field reported nice
enough to reply to him. He said, unfortunately he can't
go on to do to him working right now, but
he did say I can let you know what was
on the shirt, because that was.

Speaker 1 (01:15:32):
The big question we have to know.

Speaker 3 (01:15:34):
He said. It was described to him as a white
and mint green shirt that just simply said NASCAR on it.
Now online on X and everything, the people were like, oh,
it's a it was a Kyle Larson shirt. He said,
that is not true. I'm not sure that it didn't
have that on there. It was just a really cool
NASCAR shirt that was white and meant green, and the

(01:15:58):
lady really wanted it.

Speaker 1 (01:15:59):
Something about that she had she just really will tell
you what, I'm gonna pullet gun on you. Well, they said,
she showed that she wasn't completely uh in her right mind.
There is where we're coming from in Calhoun County. Her
main what her mind would not be like it's supposed
to be, is that she started throwing bottled waters at
one point too. Yeahscussion feel and stuff. You know, Rick

(01:16:23):
wore that flowery shirt the other weekend. I'm threatened him
a gunpoint to take it off, said please take that off.

Speaker 3 (01:16:31):
All right, So there we go. We got that.

Speaker 1 (01:16:33):
There it is. We found out, Oh Joe Joe, that
was Joe dip was Channel nine. That was not worth
I don't think that's worth grabbing that nice car shirt, man,
I get it. Even Dale Jr. I know you're having
a pretty good day, even though you're a little bit
nervous about somebody. I'm fine about. You know the fact

(01:16:56):
that Davis Thompson's gonna come watch the rest of the
show and forget you think aren't gonna act right? And
Ada is going to be awkward, but we're not. We're
it's gonna be fine. There's gonna come to some weird questions. Speedy,
get you let him get around these golf as golf people.
I mean, he's he becomes embarrassed of all three.

Speaker 3 (01:17:16):
I could it's not them, Yeah, it's you, right.

Speaker 9 (01:17:20):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:17:20):
But but now I'm going to rain on your day
a little bit. Really, Yeah, Jimmy Kimmel's back. I'm sorry,
why are you doing this? So, Jimmy Kimmel, after all
he's been through. Now, keep in mind, could he have
gotten more of a mandate just go be funny, stay
out of, you know, infuriating people and talking down to people.

(01:17:44):
So he's already been through the the Charlie Kirk death incident,
and now he's already doing something like this. Here we go.

Speaker 2 (01:17:54):
Our squeezler of the House, Mike Johnson.

Speaker 19 (01:17:58):
He said, Republicans are praying it'll be a very short shutdown,
which is good.

Speaker 1 (01:18:03):
That will help prayer.

Speaker 2 (01:18:07):
I'm sorry, but what a likable guy.

Speaker 1 (01:18:10):
And he's something filled with hope and joy, isn't he something?

Speaker 2 (01:18:15):
He's a comedians comedian, Yes, he's not any of this.

Speaker 1 (01:18:18):
Yes, so that's making fun of those of us who pray.

Speaker 12 (01:18:23):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:18:23):
Let's now move on to crazy awkward video number two. Well,
the reason why this is gonna be rough on Speedy
and Andy Blanks. If he's watching Canadians, Canada's Prime Minister
Mark Carney has a transsexual child. Keep that in mind.

(01:18:43):
Looks to me, he's already uncomfortable. Keep that.

Speaker 3 (01:18:47):
What does Trump say?

Speaker 1 (01:18:48):
Trump is about to go on around against the insanity
of transitioning children in front of the Prime minister.

Speaker 3 (01:18:55):
I'm not going to sit.

Speaker 2 (01:18:57):
He's right next to even make Greg.

Speaker 1 (01:19:01):
Okay, he not care. Here we go.

Speaker 19 (01:19:04):
We have no men and women's sports were I mean
basic things. We're not uh, we're not going to take
your child away and change the sex of your child.

Speaker 4 (01:19:15):
We're not going to do things like that.

Speaker 19 (01:19:17):
What they're doing to the country is so incredible, and
they got away with it with all they woke crap
and now it's stopped.

Speaker 1 (01:19:25):
Did you say the Prime minister he's just looking at
his shoes. He's just staring at his shoes.

Speaker 3 (01:19:30):
I didn't look I just because I didn't want to
see it.

Speaker 1 (01:19:33):
Good.

Speaker 2 (01:19:36):
Also, Canada has lost it.

Speaker 1 (01:19:38):
Yeah, oh you're talking about I mean it bothers me
the Blue Jays are even in the playoffs right now.
Canada is is a freak show. Uh and and so
are our major cities. We're trying to call some of that.

Speaker 2 (01:19:52):
Their gun policies, they're housing policies, their immigration policies, they're
they're their medical policies, y'all. Youth and n Yeah, is
one of the leading causes of death. It's in the
top twenty causes of death in Canada. Doctors just kill you.
Say hey, you know what, how you're feeling, you're depressed? Okay,
how about we kill you. You're waiting four years for
an organ transplant, because that's how it works here when

(01:20:15):
you socialize medicine. Have you thought about dying? It's in
the top twenty.

Speaker 1 (01:20:20):
Yeah, And they'll also come they'll also come get you
and destroy your life if they deem you've said something mean.

Speaker 2 (01:20:26):
Right, d bank you if you post a meme.

Speaker 1 (01:20:29):
Here's Trump also more uncomfortable stuff for speeding. First of all,
we have talked about early in the program about the
landmark Israel Hamas peace deal, which was mediated by the
Trump administration in the United States. We talked about that earlier.
A lot to celebrate on that today so CNN is

(01:20:52):
here and Trump takes this opportunity to talk about how
bad this reporter is. So here we go.

Speaker 7 (01:21:02):
Go ahead.

Speaker 4 (01:21:05):
In this is CNN speaking.

Speaker 1 (01:21:07):
By the way, so are you?

Speaker 13 (01:21:09):
This is one of one of the worst reporters that
you'll ever I don't even want to take a questions you.

Speaker 1 (01:21:16):
Oh my god, when I had moved on, I don't
even know why I call that person with a piece
of crip?

Speaker 3 (01:21:27):
What was I thinking? And I said, thinking than you think?

Speaker 1 (01:21:33):
Thinking thinking? Well, dude, thank you, We'll be back. Uh
so much more to cover today on the program. Also,
don't forget check all the new stuff in the store
there Rick burgesshow dot com is.

Speaker 4 (01:21:52):
The Rick Burgess Show?

Speaker 1 (01:21:59):
It was daily are archives Yesterday's Wednesday Bible study archive.
There isn't a video archive of yesterday due to equipment failure,
but there is an audio archive. You can't get that
on our podcast channel. Well, Greg Adler, I want to
say hello to Davis Thompson. Hey, Davis, how are you doing, buddy?

Speaker 7 (01:22:21):
I'm doing great?

Speaker 1 (01:22:22):
How are you guys? Well, it's awkward in here. I
mean it's it's like you know you know you're you're
a professional. Golfer. You know, Speedy one of his sons
works in you know, the golf industry, and Speedy, he
and his boys, I love golf, and he spends a
lot of time in the golf community. And and and
anytime anybody comes from the golf community into you know,

(01:22:45):
the same place where Greg and Adler and me are located,
Speedy gets a little nervous. He you know, it's almost like,
you know, you're bringing you know, your your country relatives
to the city. He thinks we're going to embarrass him.
He thinks how to have conversations with you, and uh,
you know, so I just want to I want to

(01:23:05):
reassure you that there's nothing to be concerned about. I mean,
it's not like you play soccer.

Speaker 3 (01:23:10):
Yeah yeah, yeah, you know, he did play one of
the Big Three. Didn't you win a state championship in
high school in basketball?

Speaker 1 (01:23:20):
Yeah? Basketball?

Speaker 6 (01:23:20):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:23:21):
Greg want to wants to call you out on Burgess
ball over there.

Speaker 1 (01:23:24):
But okay, yeah, so you played basketball, yep, yep. Did
you play in football?

Speaker 7 (01:23:29):
I played football probably until seventh grade, and then from
seventh grade through high school I played basketball and golf.

Speaker 1 (01:23:36):
Okay, I think that golf choice was a good for you.
It worked out. It's worked out so far, we can
keep going. Congratulations. I mean last year you won the
John Deere Classic, I did gratulations. Yeah. Did they give
you like a bunch of John Deere equipment when you went?

Speaker 7 (01:23:51):
So Actually, they gave me a gator Like you know,
my wife and I will take it out and we'll
drive it around neighbor and it's great. You know this
time of here, it's a little cooler, and you know,
I've got a knees three years old, so we'll take
her and drive her around during you know, the holidays
and see the lights and all that. Yeah, it's actually,

(01:24:13):
h it's nice, funny enough. Right when we got it,
the hurricanes came through, so I uh got to actually use.

Speaker 1 (01:24:20):
It, load up debris and take it to a lot
of stuff. So, yeah, actually been able to use it.

Speaker 3 (01:24:27):
He's handy, like you now.

Speaker 1 (01:24:28):
Really well, I didn't want to say anything, and I
understand that I can. I can't help you too much,
you know with golf, but uh, you know I can
help you a little bit maybe with handy. I understand
that you're desiring to be better on the grill.

Speaker 7 (01:24:40):
Yes, yes, I would love to be you know, I'm
getting there.

Speaker 1 (01:24:44):
Getting there.

Speaker 7 (01:24:46):
I have a green egg, so I have to manage
the temperature and all that stuff.

Speaker 1 (01:24:50):
It's it's uh, it's a process, but it's a tough one. Yeah.
I brought some steaks in for the guys today. If
I've just had one more steak for you, we could
have talked about. Yeah, it'd be nice a chance. Yeah,
you know they didn't. They came in here at four
thirty this morning. They were gone and they were gone quickly. Yeah,
and I'll show you the little thing about how to
tell you know, that's that's rare right there. Okay, it's medium. Okay,

(01:25:13):
that's well known.

Speaker 7 (01:25:14):
I've never never heard of that.

Speaker 1 (01:25:16):
Oh yeah, that works.

Speaker 2 (01:25:17):
It doesn't work.

Speaker 1 (01:25:18):
Make fun of that, you know, because they all feels
the same to me. Okay, well, well of course it's not.
But it does. You need to go to a doctor.
I mean, you come about this right here. Well, maybe
I'll just have muscles in my hands and you don't. Oh,
I mean, now you start working here on the other hand,
right here, Look, put your hand right there, David, say

(01:25:39):
you do it. Take your hand in go right here,
all right. I pushed that. That's what rare is Okay,
I feel the meat and I'll take the second finger,
feel it firm up a little bit more, yep, medium, okay,
and then right here, Oh that's well done. I still
and then here. I mean, that's those people that weren't
that's my mom.

Speaker 2 (01:25:56):
Yeah, ruin basically, or just use the temperature gauge whatever.

Speaker 1 (01:25:59):
Yeah, yeah ga. For those that you know or want
to lean on, technology is opposed to doing it the
way it was intended to be done. Yeah. And uh
so you start to fire my rubbing stick. Well no,
we don't. But anyway, Yeah, so I'll help you with
grilling a little bit. We'll start We'll start with spiral
dogs and we'll go from there.

Speaker 2 (01:26:20):
All right, this track, this John Deere Trophy. This is
the coolest golf truck.

Speaker 1 (01:26:26):
In my entire life. That is really cool. Uh swivels too.

Speaker 3 (01:26:32):
Yeah, that's a really cool moment.

Speaker 1 (01:26:35):
They said this past year at the Johnder Classic, they
gave somebody a sombrero. I don't know what that was.

Speaker 3 (01:26:41):
They didn't it was.

Speaker 1 (01:26:46):
I didn't do that didn't get resolved. I think, Yeah,
that's good. Davis is like, that's a good one.

Speaker 14 (01:26:54):
It is.

Speaker 1 (01:26:55):
I'm not gonna touch you with the ten, but it's
a good one.

Speaker 2 (01:26:57):
This is what Speed was talking about.

Speaker 3 (01:26:59):
Yeah, this is what this is it.

Speaker 1 (01:27:01):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 3 (01:27:01):
Yeah, I just want him to be able to leave
and not have a sponsored poll.

Speaker 7 (01:27:04):
Right, you win?

Speaker 1 (01:27:07):
That would be a win. Have you have you seen?
Have you noticed? Now today it's only the pants, but
normally you know, I dress. I love your clothing and golf. Yeah,
it's very comfortable. One step closer to play, that's right. Yeah.
Did you did you see any of the footage when
Speedy was teaching Greg and how to hit it? I'll
show it.

Speaker 7 (01:27:25):
Yeah, pretty master's week. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I saw a
little bit of that. What do you think I mean
for beginners? Yeah, pretty pretty much.

Speaker 3 (01:27:33):
We routed we were out at Timberline for the Dearbury
Golf tournament, Yes, and took him over to the range
and they didn't quite make it. I don't think the
ball got to the interstate, but it was close because
it's right.

Speaker 1 (01:27:44):
Down int I'm a rotator. Cuffs messed up.

Speaker 6 (01:27:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (01:27:47):
Still, that's that's why I didn't want to bring it up,
because knew Rick mass his shoulder.

Speaker 1 (01:27:53):
So subject or not. Well, Well, here's what you hear
about it. Yeah, I heard about it. Here's what you
can determine by that. Oh that's a movement. He doesn't
do it natural at all, you know, because I kind
of went with the grip and rip.

Speaker 7 (01:28:08):
Yeah, I mean, well yeah, John Daily Special, Oh yeah yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:28:13):
So so you like when you found out you were
coming to the show today, did you have any anxiot
about that at all?

Speaker 7 (01:28:20):
I mean I was a little nervous. I mean, I've
I've grown up listening to you guys, and like I said,
you guys have been doing great with the new show.

Speaker 1 (01:28:26):
So a little bit of nerves. But I knew, I
knew you guys would host me. Well, I don't know
that much about golf. I like golf courses, yeah, and
I like I like I like golf clothing. You think fishing.

Speaker 3 (01:28:39):
Okay, we're showing.

Speaker 1 (01:28:41):
Davis Thompson is with you said, no, my golf man's
look at that. Who You got some speed there? Yeah,
there's some potential. Yeah, that's uh. Do you know how
the pants?

Speaker 10 (01:28:53):
Yeah, that's so good.

Speaker 1 (01:28:57):
Travis Matthews has reached out to me by the endorsement deal.
But yeah, but then they found out I didn't play
any golf. I just didn't know why kept buying all
those Yeah, good stuff. So who do you wear? Nike?
That's my main sponsor, Travis Twice. I could go.

Speaker 3 (01:29:19):
Nike, Nike, go and get some Nike stuff to just
do it.

Speaker 1 (01:29:22):
Yeah that's good.

Speaker 7 (01:29:24):
Yeah, I just wear Nike for clothing and then for
golf clubs and balls.

Speaker 1 (01:29:29):
Titleist. So bring up another brand, Rick, No, I was
just just there was there was one. There was another shirt.
There was another shirt that I got that had had
like a fish on it. Then your vines. I don't
know what it was in your vines as a whale.
I think I just refer to it as is it No,

(01:29:51):
it's it's like another golfer. Its like there's a shark
on it or something.

Speaker 3 (01:29:55):
Oh, ignoring Rick, So he got some stuff?

Speaker 1 (01:30:01):
Yeah, yeah, I think I think I have one of
It been a minute because I didn't know. I just
said you were he was I need to give me
some Nike stuff. Yeah, I brought you got some hats.
You know, you don't know anybody that could give me
some Nike stuff. Yeah, I know a guy. Okay, I'd
love that stuff. You got to know what did you
bring his hats? Yeah?

Speaker 7 (01:30:20):
I brought you got some I brought you guys a
John Deere biblehead. Never thought a million years I would
have my own bible head.

Speaker 3 (01:30:27):
That's pretty good.

Speaker 7 (01:30:29):
And then the famous barbecue spot in St. Simon's is
Southern soul, and so I brought you guys some sauce
and some seasonings from from there. That's awesome than try out.

Speaker 1 (01:30:40):
Thank you.

Speaker 7 (01:30:41):
Yeah, that's the that's the hole in the wall of
barbecue spot down there.

Speaker 6 (01:30:45):
Well.

Speaker 7 (01:30:45):
Fantous, Yeah, very good.

Speaker 3 (01:30:46):
With Davis, between your dad and your wife, they have
sent me some some things about you, okay that maybe
the average person doesn't know.

Speaker 6 (01:30:57):
Now.

Speaker 3 (01:30:57):
I ran a list that your dad sent, your wife
has followed up. There's more and there's a few things.

Speaker 1 (01:31:04):
We're gonna write that list with you and we come
back ballet dancing. A lot of people don't know your swing.

Speaker 3 (01:31:13):
Coach says that helps, right.

Speaker 1 (01:31:15):
Yeah. In the break, I'm gonna work on you know,
because right now I gotta work on a short game.
I gotta get my I gotta get the putton down.

Speaker 2 (01:31:23):
Yeah, you gotta tap tap up.

Speaker 1 (01:31:26):

Speaker 4 (01:31:28):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (01:31:36):
We're visiting with Davis Thompson. Uh, he's on the p
G A uh, and we've been sent some facts about him.
Speedy was afraid that we would embarrass him, but so far,
you know, we haven't too much. I don't think. No.

Speaker 3 (01:31:51):
I've embarrassed myself though, because I called his mom his wife,
and because I was getting some questions for him.

Speaker 2 (01:32:01):
Who doesn't love their mom though?

Speaker 3 (01:32:02):
YEA, yeah, I apologize.

Speaker 1 (01:32:05):
You didn't want want let me make it weird for Davis, and.

Speaker 3 (01:32:08):
You just apologized, miss Thompson.

Speaker 1 (01:32:11):
So we're hitting this. Let's get this out of the
way between you and Idler. You're a huge Georgia Bulldog
football fan.

Speaker 7 (01:32:18):
Yes, yes, uh, but grew up in Auburn.

Speaker 1 (01:32:22):
Grew up in Auburn.

Speaker 7 (01:32:23):
My dad went to Georgia, and my dad just kind
of pulled me in his wing and was kind of
okay with Auburn. But then you know, Nick Fairley and
Cam Newton happened. And then when that happened, it.

Speaker 3 (01:32:34):
Was like, all right, I'm all, I'm all Georgia, but
your mom's Auburn.

Speaker 7 (01:32:39):
Mom went to Auburn. Uh. You know, I still I
love Auburn. You know my in laws are there like, uh, university. Yeah,
but you know I love going back to Auburn and
seeing family and friends.

Speaker 1 (01:32:52):
Can your parents.

Speaker 3 (01:32:53):
Watch the game together to that this weekend?

Speaker 7 (01:32:56):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (01:32:57):
I don't know.

Speaker 7 (01:32:58):
You know, my maybe more competitive than my dad, which
we're is saying something, so uh, you know, we'll see,
we'll see.

Speaker 1 (01:33:06):
Yeah, I can't watch Auburn play because I don't like
to die by a thousand tiny little cuts. Yeah, yeah,
I understand, understand.

Speaker 2 (01:33:14):
It's been a rough go. I can't help but notice
that all those successes that you mentioned happened like fifteen
years ago, right, Yeah, so that hurts. That hurts a lot. Yeah, sorry, buddy,
in a minute.

Speaker 1 (01:33:27):
Yeah, you also love watching The Office? Yep, big Office fan.
I am one of the funny shows I think ever created.

Speaker 7 (01:33:34):
Yeah for sure. I mean I could sit on YouTube,
like when I'm traveling by myself and just watch the
blueper reels of the Office.

Speaker 1 (01:33:41):
Oh it's so good. It's one. It's one of those
rare shows. No matter how many times I've seen it. Oh,
it does not matter if it's all I'm watching.

Speaker 7 (01:33:49):
It's funny every time.

Speaker 1 (01:33:50):
What about yea and things you even know that are
gonna happen just as funny.

Speaker 7 (01:33:54):
And you'll pick up on some things.

Speaker 1 (01:33:56):
Yeah, you know, so you said though something I can
relate to. You have to travel by commercial airlines all
the time.

Speaker 7 (01:34:05):
Yeah, pretty much every week.

Speaker 1 (01:34:07):
And you said, and you agree, it has gotten more
bizarre than ever.

Speaker 7 (01:34:11):
It's tough. I mean the flights are so expensive. You
get delays, you get cancelations, you know, you get and
like for me, like I need to get to I
mean obviously, like everybody needs to get to where they
need to be, but like I'm trying.

Speaker 1 (01:34:24):
To, like the airline, that's obvious because the airlines don't
seem to know it.

Speaker 7 (01:34:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:34:30):
Yeah, we're all trying to get somewhere on time. I know,
some people more than.

Speaker 3 (01:34:34):
You've got practice round. You've got to get set.

Speaker 6 (01:34:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (01:34:37):
I mean if I if I get to an event,
you know, Tuesday afternoon as opposed to Monday when I
usually travel, then that that's a big disadvantage because I miss,
you know, all of Tuesday. I'm tired. You know, I
got to practice. I gotta play practice round. And then
Wednesday is a pro am, so you know, you're you're
more like kind of entertaining during that day as opposed
to like grinding and practicing, So those Tuesdays are a

(01:34:59):
big day. And if you have cancelations and get in
Tuesday night, it's tough.

Speaker 1 (01:35:05):
And you told me which I can we can all
relate to. He said. Even when you're on the plane,
you're just waiting for what's going to happen. Yeah, you're
just waiting on it. And when it started, when it
starts taxing you, I'm not even confident. Then I've had
the plane stop after taxi.

Speaker 7 (01:35:19):
Yeah, yeah, I mean quick story. I was in Hawaii
and we took off. We were in the are for
like an hour and a half, and the pilot came
on and.

Speaker 1 (01:35:26):
I say this.

Speaker 7 (01:35:28):
He said, I've got good news and bad news. The
good news is that we're not in any danger. But
the bad news is we've lost all communications with San Francisco,
which is.

Speaker 1 (01:35:35):
Where we were going.

Speaker 7 (01:35:37):
So we got to turn around and go back to
Honolulu and fix that.

Speaker 1 (01:35:40):
So we're in there. We're going. Oh man, you had
one turn around after an hour in the air.

Speaker 7 (01:35:46):
I was halfway through a movie and we turned around
and went back to Honolulu.

Speaker 1 (01:35:50):
And uh, I need to know how long you stayed there.

Speaker 7 (01:35:52):
Well, they actually did an okay job.

Speaker 1 (01:35:55):
I mean it.

Speaker 7 (01:35:56):
We turned around, landed, you know, sat there for probably
three hours.

Speaker 1 (01:36:00):
And that's doing a good job. Three hours have.

Speaker 12 (01:36:06):
I got?

Speaker 7 (01:36:06):
I got a Quizzo sub. I'll never forget that because
I don't think I ever see any quiznos anymore. But
there's one in the Honolulu airport, and uh, sure enough,
they fixed the plane. We got up, we go and
I was going to Palm Springs, which you know, obviously
when we landed in San Francisco at that point it
was probably ten o'clock and there was no more connections
to Palm Springs. So I had to stay the night
in San Francisco, get a one hundred dollars uber to

(01:36:28):
go two miles in San Francisco, and get up the
next morning, got to Palm Springs around I want to
say noon. But yeah, that was That was the craziest
one I've had. Is you know we're going and then
go back. Yeah, yeah, loose comms and have to turn around.

Speaker 1 (01:36:45):
That was terrible. You you were You told me that
you have actually had spiral dogs. I have, I have
my dad has made him before he followed the recipe
to the letter. Yeah, barbecue sauce and everything. Yep, yep,
and got the other right.

Speaker 3 (01:37:00):
It's a good man. Whether you said your mom says
you love hot dogs.

Speaker 1 (01:37:03):
Yeah, I want to say.

Speaker 7 (01:37:04):
It was like, uh maybe July fourth, Memorial Day or
something like that. We just grilled out and the burgers
and Dad wanted to try.

Speaker 1 (01:37:11):
I want to try. I want to go dad.

Speaker 7 (01:37:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:37:13):
And we also see here that no wonder you and
Speedy are starting to hit it off. You are cheap
like Speedy.

Speaker 7 (01:37:19):
Yeah yeah, my wife can attest to that. Maybe she's listening,
but yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:37:25):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, let's call it frugal. Frugal, but Speedy's cheap.

Speaker 3 (01:37:34):
Now what's this about, though? You won't take a fifty
dollars bill?

Speaker 7 (01:37:37):
Yeah, it's bad luck.

Speaker 3 (01:37:38):
What fifty is?

Speaker 11 (01:37:39):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (01:37:40):
All right.

Speaker 1 (01:37:41):
The story is my.

Speaker 7 (01:37:43):
My coaches at Georgia are the most superstitious people on
the face of the planet.

Speaker 1 (01:37:47):
Okay.

Speaker 7 (01:37:48):
So, like I'll be playing a tournament and my coach
would be like laying in some grass and I'd be like,
what are you doing, Doug. He's like, well, I see
you've seen like three birdies come through and I'm just
going to chill out here.

Speaker 1 (01:37:58):
Okay, So just thought that grass would have some on it.

Speaker 7 (01:38:01):
Oh, yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:38:02):
Oh yeah, yeah.

Speaker 7 (01:38:04):
He didn't like to take chances, to put it that way.
Yeah yeah. And I mean I don't know how he
got going on this, but he's like, oh yeah, you know,
fifty dollars bills are bad luck.

Speaker 1 (01:38:13):
It's like what and so he planted that seat in
your head?

Speaker 7 (01:38:16):
Yeah yeahah, that seems just built in my head now.
And you know, I work with a sports psychologists and
he's trying to get me to be a superstitious.

Speaker 1 (01:38:28):
It's like an actual conversation I've had with him. He
wanted to go to a sports psychologist too, but he
can't find one that they'll do it on grons. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:38:36):
I found out that you actually have to pay him.

Speaker 7 (01:38:38):
Yeah, yeah, you got to write that check.

Speaker 2 (01:38:42):
Yeah, I'll take any of those bad luck fifty dollars bills.
And you're trying to get do you?

Speaker 1 (01:38:48):
I'm sure speaking actually if you won? Which one? Are
you more into Batman movies or fantasy football?

Speaker 7 (01:38:53):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (01:38:54):
Man? The fantasy football thing has been recent. It's been like,
but you've been Man for a lot man.

Speaker 7 (01:38:59):
Yeah. Every Halloween growing up, Batman.

Speaker 1 (01:39:03):
Was either a football player or Batman. You want it
all in on Batman? Yep?

Speaker 7 (01:39:07):
Dark Knight trilogy. Yeah, you can't beat it.

Speaker 1 (01:39:10):
Do you go back to corny Batman when when Adam
West and all that young Have you seen any of those? Yeah,
I've seen him. I've seen him.

Speaker 7 (01:39:18):
I would prefer that as opposed like the one that
just came out. I feel like it was really dark. Yeah,
I feel like they're trending more towards dark, which is
not no ideal. Yeah, I mean the Dark Knight was
kind of, you know, kind of it's kind of the name,
but it's a great movie. Amazing movie. Yeah, amazing movie.

Speaker 2 (01:39:36):
Yes, the Batman with what's his name from Twilight Robert Patterson, Yeah, yeah, yeah,
it was odd.

Speaker 1 (01:39:43):
It was odd to me.

Speaker 2 (01:39:44):
It didn't see he didn't seem like a Batman. Yeah,
like it should have been just like movie about a
guy in a weird mask instead of Batman.

Speaker 1 (01:39:52):
Do you agree with that? Yeah?

Speaker 7 (01:39:53):
I mean I also have you noticed, I mean that
movie it's raining, the entire.

Speaker 2 (01:39:57):
Movie it is, and it's nighttime movie.

Speaker 7 (01:40:00):
Okay, that's raining at night the entire movie.

Speaker 1 (01:40:03):
All right, we'll come back. Davis hanging out a little
bit more. We also here later in the program. Uh,
Speedy has invited his old golf buddy Davis Thompson to
stop by him.

Speaker 9 (01:40:21):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:40:21):
So far Speedy has gotten through this. Okay, we haven't
done anything to embarrass him. Speedy has, uh, but we
have the rest of us did find the rest of us.
The rest of us did fine. So he's hanging out
with us and the gate.

Speaker 3 (01:40:35):
With Yeah, now that's your mom.

Speaker 1 (01:40:40):
Sorry, got super super awkward. Yeah when uh when Speedy
referred to his mom as his wife, So uh, I
didn't know.

Speaker 3 (01:40:48):
I'm sorry, I should I should know his wife's name,
But I still learned. I apologize for that day.

Speaker 1 (01:40:53):
So I'm gonna do this for Davis because he's talking
about he's been enjoying the show. He was introduced to
the show back in Rick and Bubba Day, said his
parents even had his own turner South. Then he kind
of developed his own relationship with the Rick and Bubba show.
Around twenty twenty one. He was won over the day
that James span was trying to talk about emotionally how

(01:41:13):
much the movie Filled of Dreams meant to him since
he also had a strained a strained relationship with his father,
and how much that movie meant to him about the
guy playing catch with his father, to which Greg blurted out,
you know, it's not even a baseball movie. It's really
just a ghost story. Well and you remember that, I do.

Speaker 3 (01:41:33):
I do.

Speaker 7 (01:41:35):
Yeah. We were in Greensboro, North Carolina, and driving home
on Sunday. I'd missed the cut in a tournament Mom
and I. Mom had come up to watch and she
was like, you want to listen to Rick and Bubba.
I was like, yeah, sure, so she threw it on
and MLB had just did their first Field of Dreams
game and yeah, James spen there was some weather in
the area. He gots it, James span On and yeah,

(01:41:58):
he got to go in on. I'll field the Dreams
was very emotional movie for him, and Greg just out
of left field, just crushed that.

Speaker 1 (01:42:06):
Absolutely got what he was talking about. It's not even
really a baseball movie. Jane's really a ghost. Not stand
by that. But the timing with may let me finish, yeah,
let him leave next second, the next day. But just
for you, Davis, oh what.

Speaker 3 (01:42:28):
You got me?

Speaker 1 (01:42:32):
Oh boy?

Speaker 7 (01:42:34):
Oh no, get.

Speaker 1 (01:42:35):
Him eighty six. So if we are going unscreenphone calls
with you sitting here so you can you don't have
second hand embarrassment like speedy, just cheap.

Speaker 3 (01:42:48):
Right, Well, well he's free.

Speaker 7 (01:42:50):
I am cheap, but uh I do get secondhand at times.
Buckle up, well, bucalop Davis, I'm ready to roll.

Speaker 1 (01:42:58):
Rick Burgess Show US screen phone calls go ahead. See
what I mean?

Speaker 3 (01:43:08):
I think that was.

Speaker 2 (01:43:08):
A callers act, right, come on, now, callers. We got
Dave Thomas here.

Speaker 3 (01:43:14):
Davis Thompson.

Speaker 2 (01:43:16):
Got David Thomas, not the Wendy's guy, Okay, Thomas.

Speaker 1 (01:43:23):
Rick Burgers Show, unscreen phone calls go.

Speaker 6 (01:43:25):
Ahead, Davis, Sam, I'm not like you.

Speaker 8 (01:43:29):
I'm not superstitious, but I am a little stitious.

Speaker 1 (01:43:35):
I love it. Rick Burgers Show, unscreen phone calls go ahead. Good,
hope you're well.

Speaker 6 (01:43:43):
Bad phone, Yes, sir, A under a house is working.

Speaker 9 (01:43:46):
I was y'all are talking about moments in the show,
and I was listening to the radio gold and we
got to the one where it was Peggy and Nikky's
Yes We're great talking about all the ni out there.

Speaker 1 (01:44:01):
Okay, yeah, man, Chris Farley, Yeah that was. That went
on to a lot of mad Peggyes and Nikki's out there.
I made a lot of them just when they weren't
mad at Greg anymore. You remember that time I forgot
rick Burgers show on screen. Phone calls go ahead.

Speaker 8 (01:44:23):
Hello, this is Adam with the Homeowners Association, and it
has come to my attention that mister Calvin Wilbard is
still storing something in his driveway and I'm a hold
him that gun point until he stops.

Speaker 1 (01:44:38):
Okay, careful, what is it careful going to this bit
too much? Yeah? It worked the first time that I
can feel the head. I can feel he may just
have urged that like he's going to be a ricker
and character. Be careful with content.

Speaker 3 (01:44:55):
Okay, I had running with h o A if you
missed that date.

Speaker 1 (01:45:00):
But he named asked Davis what he named his fish
when he was a kid.

Speaker 7 (01:45:04):
That is my mom's phone number.

Speaker 1 (01:45:07):
What did you name your fish?

Speaker 9 (01:45:09):
Well?

Speaker 7 (01:45:09):
I named him David.

Speaker 1 (01:45:10):
He is close to my name.

Speaker 7 (01:45:11):
Oh really Yeah, for some reason, my family thinks that's
the funniest thing in the world.

Speaker 3 (01:45:17):
Yeah, it kind of because you kind of fish, kind
of beta fish prior relative. How you feel about that
tank right there, looks.

Speaker 1 (01:45:26):
A little looks a little murky in there.

Speaker 2 (01:45:28):
That's what that means. You have good that's a good
biodome going.

Speaker 1 (01:45:33):
David didn't live nothing.

Speaker 7 (01:45:34):
Like, no, he did not my cat ate its tail off.
I remember that lived.

Speaker 2 (01:45:41):
Oh good, you can't.

Speaker 1 (01:45:42):
Tries to eat your pet fish. You'll remember that.

Speaker 7 (01:45:45):
Are tough traumatizing.

Speaker 1 (01:45:46):
Rick Barger's show, unscreen phone calls, Go.

Speaker 21 (01:45:51):
Man, I was just gonna go ahead and say I
need to tighten it up on the YouTube start and
to uh get a little bit of aggravating.

Speaker 1 (01:46:03):
What do you can you be more specific? He just
literally brought the YouTube back after the all the equipment
shut down yesterday has given you, guys the entire show
with a paper clip and a piece of gum until
getting new equipment in there. And you're complaining.

Speaker 21 (01:46:21):
Yeah, man, yesterday I missed the almost the entire show.
It it was quite aggravating.

Speaker 2 (01:46:28):
I'm sorry, buddy. I'm really trying, man. I thank you
for your support. Support.

Speaker 1 (01:46:33):
I guess between words, and I just wish tien up
a little bit. I gotta go. I'm substituting to day
at elementary school.

Speaker 9 (01:46:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:46:46):
Rick Burgers show, unscreen phone calls, go ahead.

Speaker 6 (01:46:49):
Good morning, guys. How y'all doing?

Speaker 1 (01:46:51):
We're good? I hope you're will.

Speaker 6 (01:46:53):
I congrats to Davis there on all his success at
uh real quick. I was I'll drive it in uh
here local Chattanooga. And yes, I think it was yesterday.
I can't remember now days go by.

Speaker 3 (01:47:07):
We don't either.

Speaker 6 (01:47:09):
I'm not gonna repeat what he said, but Speedy made
a statement and Greg's response was, I'm not sure if
that was necessary. I got to laughing so hard about that.
My sinus has started draining. I kid you not. You
guys about caused me to wreck and I had to
over and take a breath. Yeah, I don't want I
don't want to say what Speedy said, but Speedy and

(01:47:34):
Greg said, and Greg said, I'm not sure that was necessary.
And I about died about I literally about died.

Speaker 1 (01:47:41):
Special moments, special moments, that is special moments. Would you say,
I don't know. Said something bad? Was that the time?

Speaker 6 (01:47:48):
Well?

Speaker 2 (01:47:48):
Was that that homeowners?

Speaker 1 (01:47:50):
I think it had to do with his dog cut?
You remember? Oh yeah, what I say? Yeah, Rick Birders show, unscreened,
Rick Birger's show, unscreen phone calls.

Speaker 6 (01:48:00):
Go ahead, Hey guys, they doing, We're good.

Speaker 1 (01:48:03):
I hope you're will.

Speaker 6 (01:48:05):
Well well great. I just wanted to remind it bringing
up the Peggys and the Nikky so I wanted to
remind all the legally people, David, Greg hates them.

Speaker 1 (01:48:13):
Also true, that is bringing back Greg's old battles, old.

Speaker 3 (01:48:19):
Battles, David, have you heard about him and the blind that.

Speaker 10 (01:48:23):
I just said it was a different relationship.

Speaker 1 (01:48:26):
I pointed out there's a difference from being legally blind
and solid blind. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:48:31):
I don't think they call it solid line, solid blind solid.

Speaker 1 (01:48:38):
Well, we were talking singer and we were acting like,
you know, this is amazing. Well that he was legally blind,
he wasn't completely blind.

Speaker 2 (01:48:46):
What singer?

Speaker 1 (01:48:47):
Was it? Yeah? What Gordon mo? No, no, no, yeah
he is. It was he's solid bl black.

Speaker 2 (01:48:53):
Eyed pe show up.

Speaker 3 (01:48:57):
Yeah, yeah, oh yeah, may he can't.

Speaker 1 (01:49:01):
He just don't see good? Say my contacts out, I
don't see good. Yeah, we continue. Rick Burgers Show, unscreen
phone calls, Go ahead.

Speaker 6 (01:49:13):
This segment with Dave Thomas is not an interview. It's
a ghost story.

Speaker 1 (01:49:20):
That's pretty good. Rick Burgers showscreen phone calls.

Speaker 11 (01:49:25):
Yeah, Hey, quick golf question for Davis. Okay, on a
tournament day where it's eighteen holes, no match players for play, whatever,
but how many golf balls are you actually able to
use or lose or bring on the course with you.
I'm just curious that conversation has came up and a lot.

Speaker 7 (01:49:44):
Of my golf play, is there rules on that, No,
you have to use the same type of golf ball.
But going back to my superstitious I always warm up
with like if I'm putting around on putting room form around,
I use number fours, and then during tournament rounds, I
use ones and twos. Okay, So I'll have eight golf
balls in my bag, and you know, if I start

(01:50:04):
off and I make a few birdies and we're rolling,
I try to use that golf ball until the end
of the round. But if I start out and things
aren't going well, I'll.

Speaker 1 (01:50:11):
Switch golf balls.

Speaker 7 (01:50:12):
Sometimes I use three or four, or sometimes I'll just
choose one.

Speaker 1 (01:50:16):
Okay, but never three or five on the numbers.

Speaker 7 (01:50:19):
No, no, I don't know. I got.

Speaker 1 (01:50:25):
So usually rot bill, so you have hay, but you'll
stay with what you every one's hot, Oh yeah, okay, yeah?
Why change it?

Speaker 2 (01:50:32):
And why why do y'all have like square patties? Why
are the patties square?

Speaker 1 (01:50:37):
Huh? What's that's a windows? Davis Thompson.

Speaker 3 (01:50:41):
David Thompson, Buddy the golfer, the windows guy, not the wind.

Speaker 4 (01:50:48):
Is the Rick Burgess Show.
