Speaker 1 (00:10):
Big Box entertain But presents The Rick Burgess Show with Speedy,
Greg Burgess, Edie Van Adler, and Rick Bouch.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
And we're off and running. Thank you for being with us.
It is a brand new hour on a brand new day. Yeah,
it's on a brand new week, and we got a
lot to unpacked today. I mean, there is a lot
going on inauguration Donald Jay Trump going in as forty seven,

(00:45):
so we'll talk about that on the program today. That
will be a huge topic. The rally last night, we'll
do some highlights from that. We got NFL playoffs underway.
We got a national championship game tonight in college football,
Ohio State Notre Dame. We'll square off and one of

(01:06):
them will walk away with their first ever national championship
in a college football playoffs. Never happened before. Now they
both won championships, but they'll be the first ones to
ever win in in the twelve team playoff. So you've
heard people talking about that, So we'll unpack that little bit.
Stories from the weekend, of course, there'll be plenty of those.

(01:28):
And of course we've come back to the studio today
and we've been working through some technical stuff because there's
nothing better than to come back to technical difficulties on
a Monday. But I don't know, none of us have
ever been able to explain it. But when you arrive
back to a studio that's been sitting dormant over the weekend,
you never know what's waiting on you. We've already woke

(01:50):
up super Tom, so he's helped us. I think we're rolling.
I think we're fine. So hopefully everything is good. Greg
a little bit nervous about the first commercial break we
go to, hoping it works. We'll be honest, so speedy, Greg, Adam,
you heard here. Hello fellas, Welcome back for another week. Welcome, Welcome, welcome, welcome,
lock going on, lot, going on. Also we have really

(02:12):
the whole country is in a deep freeze cold weather.
But then what does this mean when it comes to
how cold? What does it mean when it comes to precipitation.
James Span will visit us again today. He'll try to
give you a clear picture. And the good news is
here's the good news and bad news. And you know

(02:32):
it's funny. My wife got tired of hearing this over
the last few days. Everything that has been said to
you up till today is meaningless. So today you should
hear something that is a little more accurate. That That
really drove me crazy with even people I love in weather,
is when they tell you that there's that everything that

(02:55):
this wasn't that exact quote from meteorologists everywhere, exact quote.
Everything that I have just told you can and likely
will change Monday. Okay, well why are we talking about it?
I don't guess we'll see you, muney. I don't understand
what this conversation is about. So what you've just told
me are things that they don't say. When they added

(03:17):
will see I was okay with by Monday, what I'm
telling you can change. I'm fine with that. But when
they said and likely will change, I'm like, well I'll
never get this time back. Every little map I've just
looked at it, and every little thing you've just said
is all going to change today's But the good news is,

(03:38):
since it all begins for I think Houston, all of you,
it's going to begin today tonight late, so the West,
it's going to start happening for you tonight and then
work its way east. So the good news is today
we should get a pretty accurate view of it. But
everything up to this point has been a waste of
your time.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Well, look, you got to look at it like this,
right is it's they're basically they're just flashing a yellow
light warning, alert, alert something it's coming. Sure, get a plan,
know what you're going to do, and then Monday we'll.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
Know for sure.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
That way, if you're in the watch or warning of
severe weather or winter weather, then you got you already.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
You're ready.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
If you're not, then you're like, okay, but you you
were alerted that there could be potential winter weather. Understood
that way, you don't feel like you're completely wasting your time.
I'm trying to help. Well, I know where we live.
We're right on the line of a very little part nothing.
And then of course everybody warns you that it's so
cold that even a little could could hamper travel because

(04:44):
it's so cold. So we are all here and we're
all ready to stay or not stay.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Right.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
So it's so funny because and we've talked about how
certain regions of the country you're prepared for for whatever
weather you normally receive. And to get the NFL games,
both of them, one in Philadelphia, one in Buffalo, it
was snow. They had they snow showers during the game
and the stadium is packed, and I'm thinking, so all

(05:13):
these people got to get home, I mean they're about
to and they would show like a shot of like
the parking lot and it's all white stuff.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
What would we do if.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
Or George, I mean, you name it, Nashville, you know
the Titans, you name it. If we're in a snow
shower during the game and we're all going to try
to get home afterwards.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Now they're prepared for it.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
Again, I'm sure the roads were immaculate and they already
had them.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
They probably didn't have a problem. The snow in that
game yesterday for Philadelphia. Yeah, for those people, is nothing, no, nothing,
And it was twelve degrees in the night game. It
was twelve degrees with the windshill of I don't know
what it was and they're just all out there. Yeah,
well remember that too, because it was about it. Because
remember my wet twelve. My daughter lives in Philadelphia. And

(06:02):
also remember now they did show people in the parking lot,
so that does count. But a lot of those people
sitting in the stadium are just going to walk down
the street back to where they live. Yeah, they'll never
get in a car, all right, that's it. They'll they'll
they'll use either public transportation or walk. And that's in
big cities. A lot of people don't. I have two kids.
One lives in Philadelphia, one lives in New York City,

(06:23):
and they don't even have automobiles. Yeah that's crazy. Yeah.
All they do is they'll rent one if they got
to travel. Yeah, uh, you know outside the city. So
so yeah, we'll we'll talk about that. But you're right
to answer your question. Speedy of the game would have
been canceled, you know if that weather was for Yeah.
I just thought it was funny because everybody's just a pack.
They're screaming and hollering. I mean, this coming down sideways.

(06:46):
Granted they dressed for it, but they do. I don't care.
I don't care. Twelve degrees snowfalling, you're sitting at a
ball game. No, that's tough.

Speaker 4 (06:55):
Yeah, there's a day I might have done it. That
day is over.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
But and of course you all have the shirtless guys
always always standing.

Speaker 5 (07:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Oh yeah, they're not gonna wear now so and their
arms are just so red right on the edge of frostbote. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
So we've had this discussion before, and we kind of
sometimes have split on this. Do you like outside elements
affecting the game, because, like, you get to this level
and look, having home field advantage is important, But do
you like the open stadium to where okay instead of
instead of a dome where everything's just perfect when it.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
Comes to old school and back when I thought the
game was at its greatest. Yeah, when you battle not
just the team, you battle the elements. Yeah. Depends on
where you live, where you play, That's just part of it.
You know, if you if you're Miami, you know you
got to go up north and playing the Snow. You've
got to be able to do it. That's the reason
why Speedy, I know you and I were texting on this.
That's why I thought what the Rams did. And I

(07:49):
know these players are from all over, but I mean
the franchise is in LA. I did think it was
amazing that comeback that the Rams came back in newly
won that game, and the drive they put together in
those elements I thought was pretty pretty impressive, very impressive. Yeah,
And when you were like, is anybody watching this? And
I was like, unbelievable. I cannot believe what I'm saying

(08:10):
I had not seen an NFL game this year, but
the playoffs so kind of answer your question, speedy, I
think it was the elements that made me watch it. Mhmm.
You know, if it just been a regular game, I
think I'd have been like I think I wanted to
see them play in those conditions. It actually made it
more intriguing to me. Yeah, you know so. So anyway,
so we've got that, the Bills hang on, we'll we'll

(08:32):
talk about that a little bit. The Eagles win. Uh,
poor old Detroit, My.

Speaker 4 (08:37):
Goodness, Deroy you you were set up?

Speaker 2 (08:40):
Can I? One seed? Can I? And I got a
friend of mine that said, I mean, just a just
completely out of hand lines fan, and he's been so
happy and frankly a little bit cocky about his team
should have been. And he's he's dead. I can't even
I'll see him sometime this week. I wonder how he'll be.
But I laughed at the meme that was out where
it had Mufassa talking to Simba. Did you say that one?

(09:03):
And Simba little Simba looks up to Moufoss and says, daddy,
what is the Super Bowl? And he says, I don't know.
We're lions and uh wrong, but that's so bad and
you don't you hate that?

Speaker 6 (09:20):
That was that?

Speaker 2 (09:21):
I'll tell you the break.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
Oh yeah, Montgomery, Yeah yeah, I'm talking with Greg Thomas
who runs w l W. Either automation systems has been
locked up, but it has been corrected.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
As we speak. Okay, good Greg, thank you, great job Greg.
So Montgomery, you should be back. All right, guys, we
have a lot to unpack. We'll be right back.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. This is what Trump
had in mind when he sought to make they're a
good greet again the Rick Buracher shows.

Speaker 7 (10:04):
That abuse and run now, brother, because you ain't got
a lot of time.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
So we're we're back. We're rolling through another one. Thank
you for being with us today on the Rick Burgess Show.
And Uh, I do want to point to something that
is quite obvious. It's been talked about a lot, and
that is the foundation for our health really starts with
are you getting a good night's sleep? That's uh, that's

(10:31):
when the body repairs itself. That's when the body gets
itself ready. That's when the immune system uh says hey,
let's let's let's all strengthen ourselves a little bit. So
if you're getting a rough night's sleep, maybe you got
one of these deals now where everything you know shows
you an Apple watch or whatever. Here's how you're sleeping
is going, and you're looking at it. You going, I
don't like that report. That doesn't look very good at all.

(10:52):
Maybe your lower backs hurting and you get up every
day but back there and uh, some of this may
be because you're you're you're on the wrong mattress. You
you need some help. You need a mattress that is
customized for the way you sleep. It's a personalized mattress.

(11:56):

Rick Burgess show dot com under the sponsors. All right,
so some of the things that are going on, Like
in the text option, somebody said, hey, Ohio State, they
won the national championship in twenty fifteen. I know that

(12:16):
Notre Dame and Ohio State have all won national championships,
But what college football is promoting? And by the way,
my wife's not a fan of it, because she says,
come on now, they're promoting that whoever wins this game
tonight has done something that no college football team has
ever done before. By the way, that flies all over shery.
For some reason, She's like, oh, so you saying that

(12:36):
the national champions everybody else won, are not as impressive
as this one. I said, Baby, they're not saying that.
They're just saying that nobody else except these two teams
have worked their way through a twelve team playoffs. That's right,
that's it. Yeah, that's all. It coming down to one game.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
Yeah, that's all they're saying.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
So you tell me these teams could have been and
she starts listing all the BAMA teams that have won.
I said, nobody's saying that. They're saying that this oad
has only been available to these teams so far. They're
the first ones to ever go through this road. That's it, right,
And so it is a long road. It is a
long row. And then some of you are also asking
a question. I guess you're doing a a what if scenario?

(13:14):
Would you rather? Because we're not in this dilemma. The
inauguration is during the day, the football game is tonight. Yeah,
some people were saying, which when y' which when y'all
gonna watch the inauguration or the game? But I'm not
in that situation. Don't have to choose. I can, actually,
but let's say let's say that we were in that situation.

(13:35):
Let's have some fun with it. If if our choices
were were Trump inauguration or the college football national championship.
With these two teams, you can't pick other teams. These
two teams, which one will we watch?

Speaker 3 (13:49):
I'm gonna probably go football, uh and then watch the
highlights of the inauguration.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
I think I'm with you definitely. Yeah. Because another thing
is to Greg's point, well, yeah, right, this is gonna wait, Greg,
I know the one obvious thing. Yes, I've already seen
Trump be sworn in once and it was actually outdoors.
So right, so here here's the thing we think. Well,
I don't think we think. I think we're pretty confident

(14:16):
we're gonna get Brian Dawson. Yeah, it just depends on
which way. Which way. So Brian Dawson is with eighteen
nineteen News. He's also one of the speakers on Team
Man Church that goes out. He he is, he's there
for the inauguration. And you know, I actually got a
text from of all people bones it said, you realize
that Dawson's there for the inauguration And it's not Scott Dawson,

(14:39):
this is Brian Dawson. If you want to be more
confused than ever with why, Yeah, this is this is
Burley Dawson with a beer and he and he said,
you ought to see if he can give y' all
a report from the inauguration. I thought, you know what,
that's actually a good idea. So it's a pretty big deal.
And so he's there, y cowboys there too. Of course
of course kidd so called. We'll see if he's committed

(15:02):
to it. Yes, but she's done before. But anyway, but
he and we're going to still hear from news eighteen
eighteen eighteen nineteen years. Yeah, we're going to hear from him.
And it's not one of these independent news sources now
like Blaze TV, and these people are more important now
than ever, you know where you actually find journalism. But anyway,

(15:23):
but then I find out last night he's like happy
to do it, and I think this will be the update,
he said, But for some reason, and I think we
all know it's beyond weather. Of course, it's really cold,
but you could still move it indoors and everybody still
be there in a big arena. But they're not only
moving it indoors. The report I'm getting, we'll get confirmation

(15:44):
with him coming up, is that the House representatives and
the senators are the only ones that can go and
be in the room, so they're not allowing anybody else.
So bon geno, may I think this is bigger than weather.
And look, well guys, this is not you don't have
to be Sherlock Holmes. They've tried to kill him twice.

(16:06):
I mean, that's that's already happened. We already know that
somebody will will try to take him out. It's not like,
you know what if it's already happened twice, so there
must have been in my opinion, now this is speculation,
But do y'all really think there's no they didn't get
concerned about a security threat. You move it inside. You

(16:27):
can still say moving inside and put that on weather.
You could still do that, right, but moving in the
past weather, Move it inside and only the representatives and
the senators and it can be there. Well that's different.

Speaker 3 (16:41):
You do have what you just said, you're perfect out
weather and facility, and we can only have just you know,
the personnel in there that needs to be in there,
and you have your out because of the weather.

Speaker 2 (16:53):
Yeah, what you could have done is, you know, because
there's no if you need more room, you could have
simply said where he's having his rally last night, which
I'm thankful you didn't have to see.

Speaker 3 (17:03):
Speaking of football and that now that's a better, better
scenario last night or NFL and I chose football.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
Yeah, and I'm glad you did for no other reason.
There were a lot of things to enjoy. I didn't
see all the rally. I saw bits and pieces of
it because I was going back and forth. The rally
was was was quite a party, uh under interest but
uh kid Rock at one point had the entire crowd,
you know, shouting out let's go Brandon in the middle

(17:32):
of one of his songs. But it is no Biden
dated right, I mean kind of, you know, different than
most right, it was different. But I think the thing
that I'm glad Speedy did not see did not see,
and I'm sure Adair will find it.

Speaker 4 (17:44):
Sadly, we have it. We've got it is is.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
Uh you know, he didn't just Trump didn't just close
with YMCA, which I don't know when this became some
closing song for the Trump administration YMCA, I don't even
understand that. Yeah, I don't understand how this.

Speaker 3 (18:01):
I think when you when you hear that party song,
when you hear that song, don't you think fun?

Speaker 2 (18:06):
I do, but but I mean, there's there's so many
When he did that, you can't always get what you want.
I followed that theme, but you get what you need.
That I got that ties into him. I didn't fully
understand how y m c A Has become part of
Trump rally. I can't believe that the Village people would
be a part of I know, I thought I thought
about that too, but but you know, Snoop Dogg at

(18:27):
one time was anti Trump. Now he's pron So.

Speaker 3 (18:30):
For those of you that say the Trump's anti gay,
he just had the village people up.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
There and they were dancing. I think y'all can push
on that. Nobody no gayer than them. Yeah, thank you, Greg,
except my breakfast. Apparently what comes with the hand back.

Speaker 1 (18:45):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Three cities, three powerful weekends.
The Men church conferences, worship, challenge, discipleship and fellowship all

(19:05):
in one life changing weekend.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
Get your tickets now.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
For Birmingham, Adama City or Atlanta at the Manchurch dot
Com Disciplemen Change Everything.

Speaker 2 (19:18):
Yeah, the first one this Friday, Birmingham. Looking forward to
seeing all of you. I did I on the air,
did I talk about I know, I think I sent
it to you guys about how many different states are
going to be represented at the first conference this weekend.
Did I read that list? You just sent it to us. Yeah,
I didn't read that on the air. Let me tell
you this. This is incredible. And so the cool thing is,

(19:41):
I do want to tell some of you because and
rightfully so, I completely understand that you're thinking to yourself, Okay,
I need to I need to know what's going on
because you think, well, I mean, everybody's in mostly coming,
you know, or in and around the area. Listen to
this so we can see where the tickets come from.
So there are men this weekend. Now, Cavan, we have

(20:02):
two more conferences. You know, we got Panama City in
Atlanta coming in February. This is just to Birmingham this weekend.
Obviously they're coming from Alabama, we know that. But Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri,

(20:24):
South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. Wow, so a lot of
you are like the one I got that was personal,
came from someone who reached out to me an email
from Arkansas and said, okay, we got five and a
half hours, tell me about the weather. The weather no
matter what happens, which Birmingham. I mean, honestly, they're down

(20:45):
down to Birmingham to get an inches about ten percent,
So it doesn't mean we're not gonna get something. But
that's the chances of one percent one inch or more
for Birmingham right now is ten percent. Now, we'll get
the update from SPAM coming up. But as Spaen said
on front, even if Birmingham gets more than that, by
the time you guys, all of you will be traveling
to Birmingham, it's going to be gone and we're going

(21:07):
to be above freezing freezing again. So it won't impact
the weekend Friday and Saturday. We're back up in the
in the fifties by Friday, by Friday and Saturday, so
you don't have any travel issues on that. So now,
if you're flying still even I'm sure you're not leaving
till Friday or even late Thursday, so you should be okay.
But that there shouldn't be any travel issues with that,

(21:29):
and we're looking forward to that coming up this weekend
and for a lot of you with the Rick Burgess Show.
You want to meet Speedy, Greg and Adler, they'll be there.
We'll we'll have a table set up and they'll be
gripping and grinned and they're going to be part of
that and the others too. Coming to Panama City and
also coming to Atlanta. And you find all the details
see the speakers, hotel blocks, all the facilities by going

(21:50):
to the Manchurch dot com. And we are incredibly excited
about what's going to happen this weekend. So there you go.
Some of the other things to discuss.

Speaker 8 (21:59):
There.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
There's a big breakfast talk which became a video of
the day on the YouTube channel. So you know, we're
working through a new breakfast plan because very thankful for
the restaurant near us, Edgar's that really has worked, you.

Speaker 4 (22:15):
Know, brings all our birthday cakes.

Speaker 2 (22:16):
And they start saying, hey, we'll even take care of breakfast,
and they did for at least a year, right, maybe
more two years, and we understand costs and all that,
and they finally were like, which probably means somebody new
took over is not as a big a fan of
the show as the person before. And they were like, hey,
we can't keep shelling out this kind of money for

(22:37):
free breakfast, but if you guys want to pay for it,
we'll keep bringing it. And we looked at you know,
we're a new company and all that We're like, that's
a lot of money to spend on breakfast. Everybody, just
be on your own for breakfast. But then the time
we go to work, there's nothing open. And then that
led to the conversation about us bringing stuff in either
for ourselves or for each other. And one of the

(22:58):
things that I keep I wouldn't say suddenly saying, because
I don't think it was very subtle at all, is that,
you know, I keep waiting on Speedy to come in,
you know, with some protein balls that that you know,
and you can find that recipe on the website under
Rick's Picks. His wife makes delicious protein balls. There was
even a discussion one time that Tom Brady ate them.

Speaker 3 (23:18):
You remember that because I think the trainer is from
an area that has the show and was familiar with
it and tried tried it and made the recipe and
Tom Brady liked it, so he ate he ate the
balls before every game.

Speaker 2 (23:32):
And make a note I heard Tony Romo last night,
and i'd like to I'd like to say something about it,
but not right now. Okay, Okay, I got Tom Brady.
Do you really you never really heard him call the
game a lot? Okay, okay, we'll talk about that coming up.
So I didn't think you had a lot of shocker, Greg,
not that impressed. But anyway, so you're kidding. Man. So
we're all texting last night about hey, here comes another week.

(23:55):
Everybody here, everybody ready to go. Here's a game plan
for the weather, and then I get it text that was.
It brought a smile to Old Rico's face. Uh, speedy
goes right now? Uh my wife, his wife, Terry is
making a breakfast cusse role that I'm bringing in tomorrow.

Speaker 9 (24:14):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
And then I put back, I would like to say,
please tell her not to go to the trouble, But
I really don't like the lot. You know what that was.
I wish you wouldn't do that, stopping, don't worry about it.
I wish y'all wouldn't do that. Yeah, Oh I like that. Yeah,
that's that's kind of cool. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (24:34):
So yesterday after church, Terry says, hey, I need to
run to the office and you know where we are.
We've talked about you know, it's gonna be blow freezing
form multiple days. And so she said, she said, it's
one of those things. I don't know if you all
have ever done this. Hey, when I left the last
when I left last, I think I did this. I
think I left the defaucets dripping. I think I left

(24:54):
the cabinet doors open, but I can't remember. And so
now I need to go. And I'm like, well, let's you,
I'll let's ride together. And so after church we did.
And she said, while we're out, I need to stop
and get some eggs because I want to make y'all
a grit castle roll or whatever. And it's got all
kinds of stuff in it. And uh, and I'm like, okay,
well we didn't stop once, we didn't stop twice. Nobody

(25:16):
has eggs, I mean, because everybody's prepping for this winter
weather coming in and we're and and Terry said, all right,
I'm going in.

Speaker 2 (25:23):
And it was a madhouse. I mean, people are like.

Speaker 3 (25:28):
And it's like, it's weird that eggs and milk and
bread are the big three. Yeah, and uh, and so
you just couldn't find any and so after two stops,
uh and and and going to her office, she then
decides to call one other place. And I said, baby,
you get You're not gonna get anybody on the phone,
are you kidding me? And so they answered, and she said,

(25:50):
y'all have eggs. She said, we actually do. She said, okay,
we're headed away. So when she came out with it,
when she came out with eggs, I said, she said,
and y'all will have breakfast now, and she said we
need we need some too, but she's like, I need
I really needed more.

Speaker 10 (26:06):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (26:06):
And then so she's working and man.

Speaker 11 (26:09):
It smell.

Speaker 3 (26:09):
It smelled so good and and I really wanted to
eat some and I and I was like, honey, this
is really hard not to eat this right now.

Speaker 2 (26:17):
And uh.

Speaker 3 (26:18):
But we had dinner and then and then it was
wine down time, and you know, I'm like, hey, I'm
going to bed, and she say, okay, I'm gonna do
a few other things. I wake up this morning and
there's a little sticky note okay right by my keys,
and she says, don't forget breakfast and protein.

Speaker 12 (26:33):
Boss, Oh, Terry, well by them, Terry.

Speaker 4 (26:38):
Well, if you know, I just wish she hadn't gone
that trouble.

Speaker 3 (26:42):
Yeah, that wasn't necessary. And so and I was like,
what I thought she was messing with me? So I
go and open the refrigerator and write by right by,
right by the the breakfast grit cast role is a
little tupperware deal full of protein.

Speaker 2 (26:57):
Boss. I think I'm gonna stay with granola and onmon,
but you'll go ahead. Yeah, want you to do that
the Breakfast of Champions. Yeah, yeah, yeah, thank you. Well,
I was like, well, Caitlyn Jenner on the front instead
of you've made your point the let me say I
am so excited about that. And I am so thankful

(27:18):
to your wife for doing that.

Speaker 3 (27:19):
It was very very cool, you know, Terry. It's kind
of funny. She really enjoys cooking.

Speaker 2 (27:25):
I mean like she loves it. She loves it, and
you enjoyed. Yeah, I do. And uh.

Speaker 3 (27:30):
And so yesterday she was having a good old time
and she was making fun of me because everything she
she makes, I claims is delicious. And I'm like, well,
because it is, after honey, that was delicious.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (27:41):
She's like, have you ever said that what I've made
is not delicious? I said no, because I think it.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
Is yeah, plus and plus I want to continue living here? Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (27:52):
Then I then I walked in and told her, I said, well,
I'll clean this kitchen up tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (27:57):
And she looked at me and she said, tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (27:58):
You think I can handle that?

Speaker 4 (28:01):
That good move on your part, right.

Speaker 2 (28:03):
I was like no, I mean, look, let's just got
to me. We're the only ones here going to bed now,
I gotta get up and you know, in the threes,
but hey, going to bed. I'll get that tomorrow I
get home from work. That's right. Let me handle this.
You've done the cook and going, oh, didn't mean it.
Don't just leave it. I'll get that to match. I
wouldn't do it now, but you know I got to
get in the threes. You'll do it tomorrow. So touches,

(28:25):
can't you there? I'll get it. I better not get
up and find these things already in the dishwasher, this
kitchen clean and protein balls for everybody. Don't do that
not Hey, let me tell you that is huge. And
now I'm going to tell you what else I'm going
to do. What I'm gonna use it to guilt the
other wives to maybe get on the rotation.

Speaker 3 (28:43):
We definitely need something tomorrow. If it could be along,
I'm going.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
To go home and say things, well, you know, Terra,
make breaks, you know, and see if we can't get
something going.

Speaker 13 (28:53):
Does a dirty kitchen keep you guys from sleeping at all?
Because it doesn't mean.

Speaker 2 (28:57):
I can't know? But you through it, that's all she
thinks about. You ask your stuff in the sink?

Speaker 14 (29:03):
Really, yes, that's fine.

Speaker 2 (29:05):
I don't like it. You listen.

Speaker 4 (29:08):
Do you not like it enough to clean up for you?

Speaker 2 (29:10):
Guess? Oh my gosh, yes, I'm really I hated.

Speaker 14 (29:14):
Wow, Lisa's got you trained.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
Maybe that's it. But I just can't stand well and
you're making fun of my breakfast. But normally I'm the
one that put it in there, so I got no.
Of course she don't pass up and put it. Well,
when I'm doing something, making something, I'll go when i'm
a cleaning well, we were also raised, which apparently a
lot of people weren't to clean up after yourself.

Speaker 13 (29:34):
Sure, I will do a spray of like surface cleaner.
If I'm worried about it getting smelly, I'll.

Speaker 14 (29:40):
Go that far. But bam, bam, I'm going back.

Speaker 2 (29:45):
I'll tell you. On the verge of being empty, nesters.
We've gone to paper plates. I'm talking the.

Speaker 3 (29:56):
Trash, nothing to clean with a fork, anything on a
paper plate.

Speaker 2 (29:59):
Anything you had to be about to eat a great
pass it all on paper. Plus.

Speaker 14 (30:05):
I am let's go.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
We'll be right back.

Speaker 1 (30:09):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Only in America. Could
these four men do this for a living God bless America.
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (30:30):
That's right, baby. And Trump is being inaugur ready today. Uh,
and we're all are thrilled and we're all celebrating. Now.
That's big. America needed that, all right, So a lot
going on with that. They've moved it indoors now that
I saw somebody saying it is down to it is
true that only senators and representatives can go, but also

(30:52):
I think some of the major donors are also going
to be allowed. I think they're limited, limiting it to
six hundred people. Well, we'll talk to Brian Dawson with
eighteen nineteen News. He's there.

Speaker 12 (31:04):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
And we're getting others that are also saying, hey, we
were there. Uh this and there's no doubt this is
tied to security, no doubt.

Speaker 12 (31:12):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
But that doesn't really surprise me that much as I
said earlier, because we already know that there's been two
assassination attempts on his life, so that it's not surprising
that they would. I'm actually thankful because I kind of
thought they might have at one point been a little cavalier.

Speaker 4 (31:30):
You know, there's there's two things. There's hey, you.

Speaker 2 (31:32):
Gotta be bold, but you also shouldn't be stupid.

Speaker 15 (31:37):
You know, he.

Speaker 2 (31:38):
Shouldn't do unnecessary risks.

Speaker 4 (31:40):
Got to be bold. Yeah, well you can't. You can't
cower in fear.

Speaker 2 (31:45):
Now they win, Yeah, but but no, they also win
if they kill him. Yeah, they win there. Yeah, so
actually the ultimate win for yeah. So, and they had
the rally last night, so everybody got to do that
old goodness village people were there. Yeah, we're gonna look
at We're gonna make speedy. Watch that here in a minute,
and don't And if you think Donald Trump's not dancing
with him, you'd be wrong. And the boy, what a

(32:06):
great dancer he is.

Speaker 3 (32:07):
By the way, I was thinking about turning over last
night and watching some of that. And when you when
you send a text to the group, I said that,
and we'll stay right here.

Speaker 2 (32:14):
Well, I love that he openly admitted that Milania has
asked him to stop doing that dance. Yeah, and we know,
just like our wives like I. By the way, sure
he's asked me to stop, but but but I total, well,
I just totally the hips don't lie, you know. And
then she said, well, the hip is hurting, by the way,
a little resurgence over the weekend of my hip prop
what research dancing again? I was. I got up to

(32:36):
go to church Sunday and and I was teaching. I'll
talk about something happened there. And I got up and
I was like, wow, she was, what's going on? I
said that hip things bothered me today. I don't know
what's going on. Mmm.

Speaker 3 (32:50):
So speaking of church, Greg, you're you were brought up
at church with that. It clearly does usually during prayer time. Yeah,
and you know, for a rehearsal. We get there a
couple of hours early, and it was pretty cold when
we were walking in, and the discussion of can you
think warm broke out between me and some of the guys,

(33:14):
and they claimed they could for a little bit, and
then I brought you up in the fact that you
claim you can think warm unless it's windy. And it
was windy, and so we go out and we're all
trying to think warm and we couldn't pull it off.

Speaker 2 (33:26):
I'll be honest, I'm back thinking warm is working, whether
the wind is hard to overcome. The wind tried to
act warm yesterday and pulled it off. Well. This winter
storm basically, you know, I just my body. I can
think my temperature warm up. So you still can do it. Well,
most navy seals can. Right, are you gonna do it?

(33:47):
Let me tell you. We're gonna see how good you
are at it over the next few days. Sitting by
that window, think warm, Southerners, you know, we don't get
this kind of cold a lot. By the way, I'd
like to remind everybody though, and it's some sort of
you know, weather pattern that's going on. We just we
just had arctic blast hit US year before last. Yeah,

(34:08):
I mean because I trust me. I know, because I
was in the pope busting world and we've we've had
to discussed and everybody's this the COLDUS has ever been.
I said that like two years ago we were freezing
around in the teens. Yeah, it was all they gotten
single digits, So it's really not true. I had something
fun speaking to church on Sunday, and there's more. As
I and Sherry's was asking why do you why do

(34:28):
you care about stuff like this? I said, I'm gonna
try to walk from here across the parking lot into
the church and never discuss the weather. She goes, You're
not going to get away, I said, I'm not even
gonna acknowledge code. I will not say to one personal
cold because Southerners, I know, I know, weather's always a
big issue Southern's and this one, guys, we're about there,

(34:48):
we're on the line. We may not get anything. But
those south of us, I mean people who normally we're
all wondering and they're down there laughing. Sure, they're not
just going to get a little bit of snow dumped
on them. There's gonna be people that get snow tomorrow
and into Wednesday that like snow is is. It happens
there even less than it happens where we live. Oh,
I mean, they're they're down there where they're supposed to

(35:10):
be exempt almost from time's.

Speaker 3 (35:12):
Yeah, and ting about three to five inches down in
the Florida Panhattis Louisan is supposed to get gonna get
covered up.

Speaker 13 (35:19):
I did have a different approach to when I get cold.
Greg likes to think warm. I would actually think cold.
Now hear me out. That's the opposite of thinking warm.
Thinking warm, you're trying to fight it. Thinking cold. You
go with it.

Speaker 2 (35:34):
There was a time you just get used to what
you're saying. You go with it. When you get in
the ice bath, it's horrible.

Speaker 14 (35:42):
Just hang on exactly exactly.

Speaker 2 (35:44):
I used to.

Speaker 13 (35:45):
There was a time in my life when I only
had a motorcycle for transportation. It was my only transportation.
It was a very cold winter, it was a long winter,
a terrible winter.

Speaker 14 (35:53):
It's all I had.

Speaker 13 (35:54):
And I would get on that motorcycle, get on the interstate,
and you just for the first minute and a half
you're like, yeah, that's right, I am cold.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
You're right.

Speaker 13 (36:03):
And then it's like your body gets past that shaking
cold point. Okay, you admit your cold, and then your
body goes into this like crazy like refrigerator mode. All
your blood goes into the middle of your body, and
you're like, yeah, that's right, I am cold, and it's fine.

Speaker 2 (36:18):
So you're you're sounding the alarm. You're sounding the alarm
to your body. We're not pretending it's not cold. Hey, body,
it is cold.

Speaker 14 (36:24):
Embrace it, yes, go with it. You can't. Sometimes you
can't fight it. Sometimes you can fight it. Sometimes you can't.

Speaker 2 (36:30):
Go behind the guy yesterday on the interstate and y'all
know how cold it was. He's on a motorcycle and
I'm thinking, buddy, And then then we got a big
eight wheeler in the left lane that can't quite pass everybody,
so he's waged between this truck about. You couldn't be
more mens. Well, hey, you're scared to death that somebody's
gonna come over. You freeze it, yes, and you feel
the whips of the wind too. When he finally got

(36:51):
off with the exit, I know, oh no. And but
back to the other Sherriet asking me, why why do
you do things like this? I said, I just don't
want to talk about this weather because I know everybody
in this parking.

Speaker 14 (37:03):
I want to start about it.

Speaker 2 (37:04):
And I said, I said, it's kind of like a
day or I want to see if I can get
in the church, into our sun school class without ever
talking about the weather.

Speaker 4 (37:12):
And she goes, but I understand what you're doing, but
I just don't know why you do.

Speaker 2 (37:16):
I get it. I knew you'd get it great and
like I would not acknowledge the weather. The first person
was the guy helping everybody park. Of course, God love them,
they've got so many layers on and everything. He's looking
at them. He wants me so bad to say cold
air and y'all cold. I wouldn't do it for anything.
Hey see you man, morning.

Speaker 14 (37:35):
So you're thinking warm to the point of not even talking.

Speaker 2 (37:37):
I won't even talk about it.

Speaker 14 (37:38):
That's fantastic.

Speaker 2 (37:39):
And I almost made it until I got to one
of the greaders and you know they can't keep.

Speaker 14 (37:44):
Oh was so cold. It's warming here?

Speaker 2 (37:49):
This cold I had gave him. Somebody just confused America.

Speaker 3 (37:53):
I had an epic follow I had an epic fail
with an old guy in the grocery uh parking lot,
in the grocery store parking line.

Speaker 2 (38:00):
I said, somebody turned down on out here. Oh I'm
about that, flipped the sweet and he looked at me
like you went with that.

Speaker 14 (38:08):
He said that.

Speaker 2 (38:11):
I don't know what to do.

Speaker 14 (38:12):
Somebody not that.

Speaker 3 (38:17):
Cod And he looked at me like you are the
dumbest man I've ever made with the freezer.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
And then I had to walk beside him all the way.

Speaker 1 (38:27):

I know that young Broderick, the producer, is getting that
to him is sometime maybe today, and then when he
gets it posted, we'll tell you in episode two. Is

(42:51):
there As we start the hour, Greg, a couple of things.
I haven't seen any NFL football the playoff games yesterday.
I only saw the a f C, so I did
not see well, no, I did see one NFC in
one AFC. I saw the Philadelphia Eagles and that I
saw that that game, which was was an outstanding game. Uh,

(43:12):
and that one with the l A. Rams And then
I saw the Bills and the Ravens. So those are
the two games I saw. I did not see Washington
Detroit whenever that was which wow, shocker there. How about
Washington Washington being handedly yeah, I mean wow, and and
Detroit good yeah, and everybody had picked to win at all.

(43:32):
And then I then I can't remember what the other
game would have been. What was it Chiefs Ye, Chiefs, Yeah,
the Chiefs in Houston. Houston. A lot of people saying,
what is it right mat about in that game. A
lot of people are angry about that game.

Speaker 14 (43:43):
Like the Kansas City refs.

Speaker 4 (43:45):
Okay, so it's it's some kind of call. Homes did
a flyop.

Speaker 2 (43:48):
I don't know if it had anything to do with
the outcome of the game, but it's like he was
some running to bounds and you're pulled up and him yeah,
and then I don't know.

Speaker 14 (43:55):
There were several situations where it could have gone either way.
There's the flop as he went out of bounds.

Speaker 2 (44:02):
Uh, people are calling this a flop.

Speaker 14 (44:05):
Oh that is a little bit of extra little arms.

Speaker 2 (44:08):
Well, it was a big deal. I mean, that's he
he gets a lot of acting. He get a penalty
on that he did.

Speaker 3 (44:15):
Yeah, And then there was another one where he was
a runner and it's making around the rounds because Troy Aikman,
even when they said it was personal foul or whatever,
when he's actually running the ball and he does a
late slide and then they collide.

Speaker 2 (44:28):
Oh that's not this one. I saw a lot of
controversial Troy. Troyman even uncontrollably says, oh, come on, man,
you know so fast rush. I don't think that's rush.

Speaker 14 (44:41):
And that was third and eight on this rubbing the
passer call.

Speaker 2 (44:43):
And then I saw one like the special teams UH
coach getting pushed by one of the Houston players on
the sideline that looked ugly. I made the rounds, So
I just saw that some all the clips y'all saw
so but one thing I wanted to touch on and
ask Greg about this. So I will say, and if
you do, if you do an impression to someone, And
now I have to ask the man of a thousand voices,
you probably know, do I now have to adjust because

(45:06):
I will tell you something. They have really cold Tony Romo.
He is not is animated, so he's very calm. Now
that's good. That's a good play right there at Jim
and you know he's walking up the zero, but he's
not screaming anymore. It's not Jim, He's not he's not
He's not doing that anymore. He's he's really calm. He's

(45:28):
taking his energy way down. And it's almost like somebody
went to and say, Tony, you're very knowledgeable, but I
mean you sound like Shaggy from Scooby Doo. Can you
take it down just a little bit. Jim is kind
of tired of you hollering at him.

Speaker 14 (45:41):
Please don't please stop.

Speaker 2 (45:42):
Yelling Jim and quit calling the play before the snap
and saying, I bet you five dollars are gonna do
this right. He's not now, there's still a little there's
still a little bit of that there, but he's not.
But it's what I'm talking me. He's not. His energy
is down. Yeah, they're gonna right. He's checking out of
a Jim. It's more like that. Yeah, he's not. He's
not up here anymore. You know. It's he's brought it down.

(46:06):
And then Greg, you heard Tom Brady. I'm being unfair
here because I haven't heard him a lot, Okay, but
I did hear him some and it sounds like, you know,
when they bring a guest in and let him call
a few well so and so is up here with us,
but they eventually leave. He sounds like he's that guy,
like he's still a guest. That's just my opinion. You
know you were underwhelmed. It just underwe Maybe again I

(46:30):
expected too much because he got that huge salary before
he ever called one game. Well, I just think, but
he'll get better. Was this his first year? So that's it.
He feels like almost, Hey, we're here at halftime, tom
Brady's watching game, y'are welcome in? What do you think
is it in with on a series two?

Speaker 16 (46:44):
Here?

Speaker 4 (46:45):
But he doesn't sound like the true color guy.

Speaker 2 (46:46):
No to me, Okay, I really don't know why put
my finger on it. By the way, I just felt
like Tom but a shocker. Greg's underwhelmed with something. I'm
gonna have to be Tom Brady. But I understand what
you're saying now. Kind of is any more games left?

Speaker 14 (47:02):
Or is that I got to be the Tom Brady
advocate here?

Speaker 13 (47:05):
I guess there's a there's footage of five minutes of
Tom Brady getting crushed by defenders.

Speaker 2 (47:10):
The ref's not calling anything that went viral over the world.
There's there's a different the rules were different.

Speaker 14 (47:15):
I got to do, like he's a legend, know what
I got to do with.

Speaker 2 (47:18):
Him not being any good? I mean, you get colored.
I didn't say friend, he just has to go. There's
no doubt.

Speaker 14 (47:24):
The greatest of all time.

Speaker 2 (47:26):
Great, look what they used with no problem with crazy,
just by the way's supposed to be playing.

Speaker 3 (47:34):
That's what y if someone texted in Rick that ESPN
is listening to this show, that's what I'm saying. They've
they've you know, kind of pushed back Beth mo wins
and she does. I didn't think down guys were making
a difference even though he's on you know, CBS and
not ESPN. I understand what they're saying, but we're making
a difference, Yeah, we are, you think so?

Speaker 2 (47:56):
I did? I think? I feel that they're listening that
you know that sometimes people you know, because I don't
know how to break it everybody, because there we are
in a weird time where sense of humor is a
little bit lost now. And do you know that that
I actually had somebody get onto me and honestly think
seriously that us having fun with Beth Moen's has cost
her work and they're and they're serious about it. When

(48:20):
I when I she didn't even know who we were. Well,
how about this? I know, I know I do because
I guess it does get confusing sometimes because we do
talk about some very serious things and and we kind
of go in and out of the of the But
in in my world it seems obvious when it's tongue
in cheek and when it's not. To me, it does.
But but I guess, you know, maybe sometimes it isn't

(48:41):
as obvious. Maybe yeah, you know, And and look, maybe
they looked at ratings and never how they gauge stuff,
and go, maybe we need to pull her back a little,
you know. All Right, somebody says that Tom Brady Greg
is going to call the super Bowl and they and
they have the super Bowl first, and they agree with
you that they don't think he's very good. I mean,
it's not horrible. I got you. I think what you

(49:01):
just said that analogy that put me there. It seems
like a very knowledgeable guest is here. Yeah, the goat
Tom Brady's with us. Hey, Tom, come on in call
a few plays with us. Yeah, that's what it feels
as opposed to, hey, we've got a new color commentator
who just happens to be Tom Brady exactly.

Speaker 14 (49:14):
Well, let me again another Tom Brady defense here here
it is late and.

Speaker 2 (49:18):
When did that become the Tom Brady guy.

Speaker 13 (49:20):
If you guys are he's the Here he is in
the fourth quarter.

Speaker 2 (49:26):
Yeah, playing football, not broadcast, No.

Speaker 13 (49:28):
No, no, this is during the broadcast and he he notices
that the Lions have twelve players on the field, and
there he's like saying, call time out, call time out.

Speaker 14 (49:36):
This was late in the fourth He knows the game,
you know, he knows.

Speaker 2 (49:39):
That's not a hard one. There's too many players, there's
a lot. You don't have to be a ten time
Super Bowl player to do that.

Speaker 14 (49:46):
He caught it before even the Lions did.

Speaker 2 (49:48):
And you've just complimented Tom Brady for being able to count. Well, yeah,
that's good. He can count to eleven and anythink above.

Speaker 12 (49:57):
That, right.

Speaker 10 (49:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (49:59):
I mean maybe I'm different, but I haven't really noticed
that he's like not doing good because I just watched
the game and he's just I mean, I'm not critiquing
every word he says.

Speaker 2 (50:08):
You think you know what he can count? Think that
one over there? Does you know? I know a lot
of people when I said you couldn't quite put the
finger on it. When I said that about being a guest,
that went put me there. He's a guest announcer.

Speaker 14 (50:22):
You know what he can count to bregg You said
he can count to it? Well, he can count to seven, buddy.

Speaker 2 (50:27):
Yeah, I guess yes, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 14 (50:29):
Oh yeah, look how many rings he's got.

Speaker 2 (50:31):
Friend, I don't have him in the book, but he
was great on the Chiefs taking the safety to its
end that too. Yeah, yeah, when the over I mean
the points.

Speaker 1 (50:42):
Yeah, this is the Rick Burgess show.

Speaker 2 (51:01):
Warning.

Speaker 1 (51:02):
In order to truly benefit from this show, you must
have a sense of hu there, So late enough Francis
and enjoy the Rick Burgess sh.

Speaker 2 (51:11):
Right, come on, line up. We're here and we're running
through another day and we're glad that you are with us.
Still to come, we'll hear from James Span. What is
the lady we should know?

Speaker 14 (51:22):
Now?

Speaker 2 (51:23):
Okay, we'rein It starts now somewhere around Houston, and the
winter weather now rolling west to east tonight, so we
should have a pretty good indicator. Now, anything can change
at the last minute. But Span, nobody's better, and we'll
chat with him. I had a little fun at SPAN's

(51:44):
expense yesterday. I had to ask him about something else
and I just took I do this sometimes because I
guess the same reason why I tried to walk into
the church without mentioning the weather. I text span and
all this My text said was, hey's it going to snow?
He did send by a very big laughe Hey, you
ain't gonna know, uh mystore dot com? How about Lyndale?

(52:07):
Hey you think Mike Lyndale's not Jack today about Trump?
Going back in uh mystore dot com? And uh promo
code big vox that's b I g V as in
Victor o X And I'm telling you go there. He's
he's so excited. But you know, there's a lot this

(52:28):
this cancel society, which, by the way, we're saying no
to today, thank you.

Speaker 15 (52:33):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (52:34):
I mean, there's a lot of entrepreneurs they're like, well,
I have a product I can't get to the people
because somebody's blocking me. Then a lot of my political views,
I mean Lyndale himself, if you think you didn't know
about that, retailers kicking him off the shelves only to
their own demands, right. But anyway, there's a load of entrepreneurs,
five hundred great products to choose from. This is kind
of a you know, competition for Amazon. It's called my

(52:57):
store dot com and they've got the gamut. Okay, I
mean automotive, bath and beauty, books and movies, clothing, food, drink, garden, patio,
home improvement, household essentials, kitchen and dining, pets, faith based
products of sports and outdoors, toys and games. I mean
there's a lot. So go to mystore dot com and

(53:18):
see these great products at outstanding prices and use the
code big vox and you get additional savings. There's also
a link at Rick Burgess show dot com under the sponsors. Okay,
so the inauguration, what believe you that man Greg? He
could he burnt his mouth. You couldn't wait on the breakfast.

(53:39):
I could not burnt it to myself that microwave is
heats quicker than I thought. I got my upper roof
of my mouth and part of my throat skin hanging,
skin hanging, slow, skin hang.

Speaker 17 (53:54):
Not.

Speaker 2 (53:54):
I didn't do it that bad, but you know it's ay,
and I will say this, besides, the pain is really good.
Besides funny, that's on me. You're funny. You said that
because you know it's I mentioned it's cold. Is it cold?

Speaker 14 (54:14):
But when you turned the air conditioning on out there.

Speaker 4 (54:18):
I'll submitted said they turned their condition on outside?

Speaker 2 (54:24):
Like what by the way, I asked me you a
follow up question about him saying that to an older man,
which realized that our age. Now if we say older,
that's old real. Do you ever find yourself when you're
walking at the same deal with an elderly person that
you the dilemma? Do I keep their pace or can
I walking off and leave them? And I get caught

(54:45):
in their draft? I have to leave. I can't walk
with them or really anybody. Get you get up ahead
of them and offered open the door? Are you going in?

Speaker 3 (54:53):
Well, if I'm far enough distance to where it doesn't
make any sense to sit there and wait, then I'll
just go on. Yeah, I really didn't have anything with elderly.
I just can't walk along with anybody.

Speaker 2 (55:03):
What if when you grind I've done this, I get
ahead of you. I grabbed the door and it doesn't
Like I said, it doesn't necessarily have to be elderly,
but it's mostly it is. And I've misjudged on how
far I am ahead of you. And now I'm standing
over the door. Do I let it go and going in?

Speaker 12 (55:17):
No?

Speaker 2 (55:17):
I just stand there for like an unbelievable long time,
and people are looking at me, like, who you having
to do? Yeah, I can't believe you just said that. Greg.
A woman nearly fell yesterday, not long ago, yesterday, went
somewhere to eat after church. Share it with the foot,
please everybody. Today she sees the pedatris. I hope we
release her from this stupid boot today. But anyway, done

(55:41):
with it, but maybe one more week. It could be
released today or one more week, but anyway, So I
let her out by the restaurant and then part So
now I'm a solo guy walking into the restaurant. Well,
I see someone who's it, and and I go to
and I did exactly what you said. I held it
too far ahead, and she tried to hurry because she

(56:02):
knew that I was holding and I was no, no, no, no, hurry,
because you're good at one time sheet she started tea,
I don't hurry, and I'll hold it as long as
I need to. And but she tried to hurry because
I think it pressures them too. Yeah, they're they're like,
so it's a double hit.

Speaker 3 (56:17):
I don't know why I can't be I can't be smooth.
And things are real awkward with me sometimes. But we
were going into Cracker Barrel. I think this past weekend
was a little late. And you know it has two doors,
you know it has it has the outside and then
you had a little bit of a break and then
the inside, yes, which is well, there's a couple that's
timing down coming out while I'm going in. And so

(56:39):
I get through the front the first door and I
go to the second door and I hold it open. Well,
the guy sees me, but the wife has stopped to
look at something.

Speaker 2 (56:46):
Oh, look at here.

Speaker 4 (56:48):
So that now, but they're right in the country store guy.

Speaker 3 (56:50):
Yeah, and so that. So now I don't know what
to do. But then finally I go, I'm gonna go
ahead and go in. As soon as I go to
try to go in, she turns to come out, and now.

Speaker 2 (56:58):
We're like chest to chest. You know, I'm just like
just blow through the door. Let the wind hit them.
Trying to do something you didn't try just not interact
with people. Yeah, I'm public just so you can get
a break.

Speaker 3 (57:16):
Cherry tells me when I research, when I walk quit
looking around.

Speaker 2 (57:20):
It's just focus. You can't help it. That's that's that's
asking us. You know, to walk by and there being
chips and sauce and not good. So yeah, I mean
it's just right by the way.

Speaker 4 (57:30):
This is a good one, right there. I smelled the bread.

Speaker 2 (57:35):
Look, somebody says, so the pancake was good, mamma, all right,
so look, this is a great one. From the text line.
The text people have been on fire for the last
ten days or so, all right, so look, a little
rough start, but you guys have really picked it up.
This would be a great title of the first ever
Rick Burgess show. Best of besides the pain, it's pretty good.

(57:58):
Let me take something, hang on to that. Somebody taking picture.
That's the perfect title because it fits starting the new
show and all the people acting like a bunch of
you know, loons and and all that. So good.

Speaker 4 (58:08):
Besides the paint, it's pretty good.

Speaker 2 (58:10):
Gosh, what a good title like, Greg, there you go
again with a quote. How many CEE these have been
Greg quotes? A lot? Yeah, a lot. I'm glad to
put me on Bank nine with the rest of the weirdos. No, Greg,
You're you're not a weirdo. You know when you hear
me on Bank nine. Yeah, you didn't make it over
to thee my friends. You brought that, Yeah, I did,
I did, ye. You can't. We can't go off and

(58:32):
leave that and my friends speaking. I'm sorry speed speaking
of last night's rally. In today's inauguration, I'm afraid we
got a log as myles.

Speaker 3 (58:40):
Oh yeah, I have seen a little bit of Trump
on stage with a village paper.

Speaker 2 (58:45):
I want somebody to explain to me how that happened.

Speaker 13 (58:47):
Whine, whine the America Greggets in America past time.

Speaker 2 (58:52):
How good this is? Feel that Donald Trump's gonna be
present again? Said all some bottom of the hour.

Speaker 1 (58:59):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, God fearing and America
loving the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (59:16):
Here we go. Thanks for being with us today. From
the text line, as the last CD you guys did
as the Rick and Bubba Show got to streaming you no,
not over the weekend. I look forward king even I mean,
you can't even have a shutter down, so but it
should be just keep looking. I'm sorry, but we did

(59:36):
drop the Rick and Bubba's Greatest Hits podcast over the weekend,
so just search for that way podcasts that is there.
And as I said, episode two of Tales from the
Camp House coming too. The YouTube channel this week. Be
looking for that, and we also have other updates coming
span We'll be chatting with us coming up, and also

(59:56):
Brian Dawson with eighteen nineteen News gives us a live
report from the inauguration. You know, we're looking at some
of that. You know, we're getting text from some of
you out of a lot of the markets where the
show is seen and heard. I asked Adler about this
in the break. Can you imagine, Look, it's we want
the president that is being sworn in to be secure,

(01:00:17):
no matter what party the president represents. We we do
not need to put any new president or you know,
a former president who's now getting a second term. We
don't need to put anybody in danger, Democrat, Republican unnecessarily.
And everybody is saying this moving indoors, limiting the number
of people to senators, representatives and maybe important donors. That

(01:00:43):
that is tied to security. It is not just tied
to weather. But can you imagine you mentioned it's speed.
You knew some people that were going to be special guests.
We're getting texts, Hey, our kids were in a marching
band that was going to be there. Now they don't
get to do that I know that that. I don't
even know how you deal with all that. Yeah, I mean,
but when it comes to security, you know you can't

(01:01:05):
be you know, look, look how rightfully so critical we
all were of the lack of protection for Trump. We
can't turn around now going saying, well, we didn't get
to do what we were going to do and then
and then if something bad were to happen, we would
then hold them accountable for not protecting So you just
kind of I know, it's a.

Speaker 4 (01:01:22):
Tough situation, it really is. So, but they had the
rally last night.

Speaker 2 (01:01:25):
If you were able to go to the rally, So
at the rally, uh, there's gonna be a lot of things.
By the way we are seeing and what we got
some Biden stuff coming up. As we say goodbye to Biden.
He's tossing out these pardons like like he's been drinking
all night. He just pardoned Fauci and everybody on the
January sixth committee. And also Millie didn't have Martin General

(01:01:48):
Martin Elli yet. Yeah, so all the so now Fauci,
all the things we're discovering on what the things he did,
No matter how much we find I guess this means
we'll never been able to We'll never be able to
criminally hold him accountable, right right is?

Speaker 13 (01:02:02):
And that what that means from what I understand, I'm
reading the pop the pardon right now, and it's it's
incredibly vague, but it's basically saying that these because these
people have been threatened with criminal prosecutions, including Mark Milly, Fauci,
and uh the Staff Committee to investigate January sixth uh.

Speaker 14 (01:02:25):
And then he goes on to.

Speaker 13 (01:02:26):
Talk about what Milly did and what Fauci did as
far as serving the country according to Biden.

Speaker 10 (01:02:32):
Uh.

Speaker 13 (01:02:32):
But so that's basically they've been threatened with criminal, criminal prosecutions.

Speaker 14 (01:02:37):
So that's why I'm pardoning them. But this does not
admit anything wrongdoing on their part.

Speaker 2 (01:02:42):
All this, you can't pardon them. I don't think that
would ever stand. I don't believe you. How are you
going to pardon somebody for something in the future, pardon
for the future, the criminal stuff it gives me, he's adadotal.
I bet that it's adaddal. Okay, all right, so let's
go to the rally speak. Sorry, buddy, but let's start

(01:03:05):
with something that I think you'll be okay with. Here
is Trump reaffirming his commitment to declassified documents. Oh and
this is the one we talked about just the other day,
the thing that we played on the air pertaining to
the assassination of JFK. Bobby Kennedy, and today it being
Martin Luther King Junior. Day Martin Luther King Junior.

Speaker 18 (01:03:25):
So here he is as the first step toward restoring
transparency and accountability to government. We will also reverse the
overclassification of government documents.

Speaker 14 (01:03:35):
And in the coming.

Speaker 18 (01:03:36):
Days, we are going to make public remaining records relating
to the assassinations.

Speaker 2 (01:03:42):
Of President John F.

Speaker 11 (01:03:43):
Kennedy, his brother Robert Kennedy, as well as doctor.

Speaker 2 (01:03:48):
Martin Luther King Junior, and.

Speaker 18 (01:03:50):
Other topics of great public And so it's all going
to be released.

Speaker 2 (01:03:54):
Uncle Sam released, Uncle Sam. One thing that we're all
looking forward to. We remember this from the first Trump administration.
Trump is going to remind us once again and remember
how much we enjoyed it, that we're going to be
winning too much. Oh boy, And if you missed winning,

(01:04:14):
winning is coming back. So here he is stove right.

Speaker 18 (01:04:18):
But they're gonna come and say to me, sir, sir,
we're winning too much, sir.

Speaker 14 (01:04:23):
We can't take it anymore.

Speaker 1 (01:04:25):
But we have to stop winning, sir.

Speaker 2 (01:04:27):
We can't do it. We're not used to winning in
our country.

Speaker 11 (01:04:30):
They're our country, and each one of them is going
to say, every single one, sir, please please, you're destroying
our country.

Speaker 2 (01:04:38):
We're winning too much. Our country isn't prepared for this.
They're not used to winning, sir.

Speaker 11 (01:04:45):
And I'll say no, no, Linda and everybody, We're not
gonna stop winning. The people of our country want us
to keep on winning.

Speaker 14 (01:04:54):
And we're gonna go win like never ever before.

Speaker 2 (01:05:00):
Winning. I'm winning. Oh, there's gonna be so much. Oh
my god, it's gonna be so much. I do miss winning.
Trust now starting Trump by miss winning.

Speaker 4 (01:05:09):
You're right, we do miss it. They're gonna be They're.

Speaker 2 (01:05:12):
Gonna be saying where they're winning too much, can't take anything.
Uh are you working on your okay? You almost sound
like Trump needing you know, having Maybe he needs a
little more ra. Yeah, that's that's Trump needing fiber. It's

(01:05:38):
just me. I think you sound like some of the
telemarketers there in the stalls in the public restaurants.

Speaker 14 (01:05:45):
Think more of like a rant versus like a groan
or a grunt or a strain.

Speaker 13 (01:05:50):
You sound like you're straining. Be more like you're ranting
like Stormy Daniels. You know, I don't know if that's
it either anyway, No, it's.

Speaker 2 (01:06:01):
That that's got it, like you're trying to crank a
weed eater bud you to work on breakfast, all right,
So look, Speedy's stalling.

Speaker 4 (01:06:13):
He's stalling because of the next clip.

Speaker 2 (01:06:17):
I don't know when this y m c A thing
started on how this ties to winning and Trump and
us being thankful that we're done with the Biden administration.
But somewhere along the way the y m c A
thing that Trump rallies started happening. I don't even know
where it came from. Is it just is it almost
like when you go to a wedding reception at the
electric slides coming out and it doesn't mean anything. It's

(01:06:40):
just something everybody knows how to do. It's the y
m c A thing just because it gives the crowd something.

Speaker 14 (01:06:46):
It's a great American pastime. Who doesn't like doing the
arm thing? Is itbody?

Speaker 13 (01:06:50):
I mean, you can't guy on the planet, but what
would we all agree The topic of this song is odd?

Speaker 14 (01:06:58):
Yeah, that that hurts it.

Speaker 3 (01:07:01):
So I gotta tell the Birdess boys something. I know
y'all are very lyrically based on everything we are. I
don't think it's about the living.

Speaker 2 (01:07:08):
It's not. I agree, it's about just fun. You're one
hundred percent right, and I'm just I'm just noting that
the song being a hit is even fun because really,
if you remember the YMC, weren't they set up what
they set up for people who are temporarily down their
luck and had nowhere to stay. I shouldn't the Democrats
be saying this followed by followed by in the Navy, Yes,

(01:07:32):
let's write in the navy.

Speaker 14 (01:07:34):
So it's about the feeling.

Speaker 19 (01:07:36):
You know?

Speaker 2 (01:07:37):
They are right, man, I think that it's just a
weird topic of a song. But you're right, it's about
doing the hand motions, having fun. Then you do the
m A G A right maga and you change it.
They should if they're not, okay, that's it.

Speaker 14 (01:07:56):
That's a good idea.

Speaker 2 (01:07:57):
I think they're doing that. Are they more if not
like to do this? If they're not. By the way,
some of y'all with the Gary impression, now we want
Gary to do an impression of Trump. Okay, Gary that's good. Hey,
y'all gonna be sickon winning. All right, so winning. Here

(01:08:18):
here's Trump at the end, joined by, as we all know,
very the very conservative village people. Is this your original members?
I don't know. They're coming out and they're dancing with Trump.
Now speedy, I'm sorry, but Trump is gonna dance. Yeah,
here we go, his signature dance. Oh yeah, okay, sure, we.

Speaker 20 (01:08:36):
Will make America safe again, and we will make America
great again.

Speaker 2 (01:08:47):
Thank you very much, Thank you very much. What our
great victory for everybody. Thank you America, Thank you very much.
So they think it's over, thank you. Nothing else is
gonna happen.

Speaker 14 (01:08:59):
Okay, that's it.

Speaker 21 (01:09:01):
And then all of a sudden, miss, I'm sorry you
have that.

Speaker 14 (01:09:15):
Here they come, Oh my goodness, is that the original?
Oh it's the original? Greg?

Speaker 2 (01:09:21):
Is that policeman the original? I don't think he think
some are original. I think I'm sure some are. Oh wow,
that guy's really clapping.

Speaker 22 (01:09:32):
Why why oh, look a look at Trump trying to
laugh through it.

Speaker 13 (01:09:46):
I think the guy in the far right the original,
the army guy, and then the police officer.

Speaker 2 (01:09:53):
Trump goes, I don't think that guy. He's about the
trag Gregg. It's no fine day, it's a party.

Speaker 14 (01:10:18):
We've been waiting on this day for whatever.

Speaker 2 (01:10:20):
Actually get it.

Speaker 14 (01:10:22):
They couldn't recogno.

Speaker 2 (01:10:25):
Looks you can't look no kidding, No, I'm not very well.
They would want to perform all right, show the way,
show that's a party. Are you you're gonna get youtubed
out today?

Speaker 14 (01:10:43):
I just said it's worth it for America and getting
this moment out. This is the moment we need to
get out to the people.

Speaker 2 (01:10:48):
Yeah, I think I think I'm this big guy. I
think I'm very very today. I think I'm very confident
that the police is the original the policeman. Yeah so,
and the guy on the party, and I think he
was good. But the Indian I don't even think another
guy actually look like And this guy that.

Speaker 14 (01:11:06):
Name the way great, they should have swapped him out.

Speaker 2 (01:11:09):
Okay, speeding, No, that won't really so bad.

Speaker 3 (01:11:12):
I embraced that with just, hey, it's a celebration.

Speaker 2 (01:11:15):
Reconsider your well, this is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (01:11:39):
He was told good luck finding a job that would
pay him to be the class club Rick Burgess.

Speaker 2 (01:11:47):
Now, so h here we go things to discuss. So
I know that we want to hit. You know we're
today is not just the inauguration of President Trump, it's
the goodbye to the Biden era, uh and uh goodbye
Biden day. So we're excited about that as well. Today
a lot going on. But so, Adler, I know you

(01:12:07):
have a clip uh that we're going to look at
quickly here, so let's let's have a look.

Speaker 14 (01:12:14):
Wait Biden clip.

Speaker 2 (01:12:15):
Yes about your Biden clip. I know you had.

Speaker 7 (01:12:18):
Oh no, raw cliff door clip.

Speaker 2 (01:12:24):
Let's shot to stop showing us to to speed and
he's been heat. We're good. I don't know what's bothering.
Speedy Moore is the lead singer for the Village People
and now old he's gotten and he's struggling our Trump
dancing less, sho.

Speaker 5 (01:12:48):
Shiming.

Speaker 1 (01:12:52):
Oh my god, god, shary.

Speaker 2 (01:12:56):
It's a shirt that shove.

Speaker 7 (01:12:57):
It's the shirt shaping.

Speaker 2 (01:13:15):
But he did take your eyes off that? Why did
they leave a master like that?

Speaker 19 (01:13:19):
Speeding?

Speaker 2 (01:13:22):
Thank you saman? Okay are you doing that? Yeah, Hadler,
that was fantastic. Oh I was expecting that. You don't
leave him. I can't believe he's gonna wear motorcycle. And
did you just see did you just see shaman come
through of course he's happy he got another use of
that thing right and was pardoned by Trump, so he's clear. Yeah.

(01:13:42):
The uh all right, Well the real Biden clip that
we were asking the shaman for. Uh, here is Biden.
He's going to declare that he's adding a twenty eighth
amendment to the Constitution. But here's the problem. It was
not right if in time, so that really didn't happen.

(01:14:02):
But he's going to declare that he actually did do
that in his world. In his world, he did so.
Here here is an incorrect fact from Biden.

Speaker 23 (01:14:13):
I have firm amendment to have cleared all the necessary
hurdles to be added to the US Constitution.

Speaker 2 (01:14:18):
Now he did it angry too, he was wrong, Angel say,
Now there amendment is the law of the land.

Speaker 14 (01:14:27):
Now if you can't just say that, no, that's not accurate, sir.

Speaker 2 (01:14:32):
I'm sorry that did not have ste.

Speaker 14 (01:14:36):
I was gonna try to get all my gearback on it,
out of breath and up the clip. You guys actually
wanted the clips to get that.

Speaker 4 (01:14:43):
Did not did not get ratified in time, did not
get in time.

Speaker 13 (01:14:48):
Oh yeah, I say, did Joe, Greg I know you
wanted to hear that Elon Musk at the Trump rally clip.

Speaker 2 (01:14:57):
Greg, And you said, what did you say about Elon Musk?
I said, I never nothing against but I never noticed
he had a stuttering problem.

Speaker 3 (01:15:03):
He's stuttering sometimes he'll he'll have difficult kind of getting started.

Speaker 14 (01:15:08):
Yeah he does.

Speaker 2 (01:15:08):
I'm not anti stuttery, but it's like he was nervous
or something. Do these things just come out to you
like like but I mean, I never know. I'm not
saying it's good or bad. I'm just saying that I
didn't know.

Speaker 14 (01:15:18):
Oh you're saying it's good.

Speaker 2 (01:15:19):
Is that what you're saying great can be? Are the words?
Is the word surprising? Okay, So there you go.

Speaker 24 (01:15:26):
We're looking we're looking forward to making a lot of changes,
and you know the this, this victory is the start.

Speaker 14 (01:15:37):
Really, uh, there's.

Speaker 2 (01:15:39):
Not bad great. What I was doing on the radio.

Speaker 24 (01:15:42):
Is to actually make significant changes, have those smit those changes,
and and.

Speaker 14 (01:15:49):
Set set the foundation.

Speaker 5 (01:15:53):
Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:15:54):
I was just saying that I thought i'd heard him
speak before and I never really well, I wasn't making
find I think what happened was because it's because he
you know, probably socially can get nervous sometimes. I don't
think he knew he was going to be launched onto
the stage at the time. He was and Greg, you're
concerned that they were. One of his kids came out,
was jumping around with him. Cute, adorable little kid. But

(01:16:14):
they call him X, his kids X, one of his many. Yeah,
his space is X. His used to be Twitter?

Speaker 11 (01:16:22):
Is that?

Speaker 2 (01:16:22):
What is? What is the significance behind the X with him? Well,
I know what you're suggesting, and I'm sure maybe out there,
I don't know. I know what you're suggesting. I told
John it's so good. He kind of concerns me a
little bit about what he just I don't know if
he's of this earth. There it is and there we
dug away. But we got there, didn't we?

Speaker 13 (01:16:40):
But what was with the lack of confidence in the stuttering.
It's like, buddy, you're the richest guy in the world.
You're you just caught the spaceship on the chopsticks again
at Trump one. Have some confidence about yourself.

Speaker 2 (01:16:51):
I got the bragging about the spaceship. I couldn't believe it.
I watched it and he got to got caught with
the chopsticks. I would you know, you don't haight rambles
And also he goes get him have where the hell
is he? Oh? You're right.

Speaker 3 (01:17:03):
Maybe Elon wasn't prepared, but I think he was trying
to think of what he's going to.

Speaker 2 (01:17:07):
Lex is up there with him. Well, look how cute
little X is. Now he wishes his name wasn't a letter,
but but look look at him.

Speaker 3 (01:17:13):
A lot a lot of people say that X is
just precious. And then look what he says.

Speaker 2 (01:17:17):
Is this weird? His name is X, and everything else
he has it's called X. That's weird. That's I think
that's a reasonable statement. Do you think it's possible he's
you're saying, he may be indicating to us what planet
is from. Maybe planet X X possible?

Speaker 14 (01:17:33):
Wasn't that a planet?

Speaker 2 (01:17:33):
For a while?

Speaker 14 (01:17:34):
Planet X that was some people talked about shirtless.

Speaker 2 (01:17:38):
If y'all want to know what happens.

Speaker 14 (01:17:39):
I'm wearing an American flag. It's a shirt.

Speaker 2 (01:17:40):
Yes, well you know why. You know why he's wearing.

Speaker 14 (01:17:43):
It's inauguration day.

Speaker 2 (01:17:44):
Friends, it's no Biden day. You realize today we've got
Martin Luther King jun your day. We've got inauguration, we
got good Bye Biden. We got a national championship in
college fools today. Anybody care about that at all? The
National Championship, I do. You've got to like renowned classic programs,

(01:18:05):
the Ohio State buck Eyes against the Notre Dame Fighting
Irish All he cares about it?

Speaker 3 (01:18:14):
Ricks tonight, I'm obsessed with it.

Speaker 2 (01:18:19):
Great, there's things other than where you're going to sleep. Greg.

Speaker 14 (01:18:20):
We're trying to make America great again over here.

Speaker 3 (01:18:23):
Yeah, it's all about it's about unity, to bring everybody together.

Speaker 13 (01:18:30):
It's about having a good time and exercising with your
buddies and celebrating America.

Speaker 2 (01:18:35):
Greg.

Speaker 14 (01:18:35):
And if you're not going to get behind it and
watch some football with us, then just sit down.

Speaker 2 (01:18:40):
And be quiet.

Speaker 1 (01:18:44):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, Big Bucks entertain The
Rick Burger's Show with Speedy, Greg Burgess, Edie Van Adler

(01:19:08):
and Rick Bges.

we sure are thankful that you are here. And as
you Bird, the gang is all here. If you just
joined us, my goodness, we've been talking about a lot.
That's why the daily archives are crucial, crucial. You wouldn't

is you go to Rick Burgessshow dot Com. Couple of

(01:19:33):
options there. One of them is the YouTube channel. You

Others are ready saying hey, also, don't forget I'm working
today like you guys, but I'm fired up about the
inauguration that's going to be happening here. In a minute.
We're going to talk to Brian Dawson who's there. From

(01:20:37):
eighteen nineteen news Span is coming up to kind of
update you on your winter weather. We've got a lot
of winter going on and what's gonna happen. Nothing brings
quite a bit of excitement quite like Southerners in snow
and ice. So we'll talk to Span about that as
this thing goes really deep south. We'll get the latest
update from him coming up. And then of course the

(01:21:00):
National Championship tonight in college football that will be Notre
Dame versus our friends at Ohio State. So there you go.
That's that's all. So there's a lot going on there.
This is an active, active day, and Greg, I know
this is not going to help you. Wish I had
not even said this, but from the tech that the
text line they're reminding you, Greg that the scroll down,

(01:21:26):
come down. Let's see, that's a good When Elon Musk
has three wives and twelve children, does he play for
the NFL in the defensive backfield? Come up one, it's
a good one. Come up one, Come up, no down
down down right there, Greg, I'm sorry about this. X
X is the Greek symbol for Christ. My brother in

(01:21:47):
law thinks may be the anti Christ. So well, and
I'm not going down that road. But I'm just telling
you that's that's a message that let didn't know that's
what it did. I just knew he had some he
was well, you've seen people do marry Xmas versus Christmas,
and at one time people people are like, hey, you're

(01:22:08):
taking Chriss down. Like, no, that's the Greek symbol before Christ.
So why would you use it? You wouldn't. Could just
be his signature. It could be. And I'm not saying
there's any I'm just someone wanted you to get that faction.
So his son's name is Christ. Well, not really, Greg,
it's not. It doesn't mean that they're using the Greek symbols. Okay,
they could just be using the lace Christ. No, no,

(01:22:30):
I'm not saying that, Greg. The guy's just saying that
in your in your thing of possibilities, that that's there
as well. Mike Johnson, Uh yeah, yeah, go ahead. I'm
sorry to.

Speaker 14 (01:22:41):
Make it matters worse or better.

Speaker 2 (01:22:43):
I don't know.

Speaker 14 (01:22:44):
His name is actually x I I don't even know
how to pronounce this. It's X and then it's.

Speaker 13 (01:22:52):
The A with an E connect kids name. That's the
kid's name. And then and then X I. I.

Speaker 2 (01:23:02):
Yeah, everything's good.

Speaker 12 (01:23:03):
Yo.

Speaker 2 (01:23:03):
Ain't nothing weird about that at all.

Speaker 1 (01:23:05):
So release the crack it, like Josh, something like that.

Speaker 2 (01:23:15):
You're talking about a come here X slash power sign
slash add on. Well all I can think about. And
I'm sure they homeschool. I'm sure they homeschool. But oh
my goodness, can you imagine the poor teacher then that
has to put that name on the row.

Speaker 13 (01:23:29):
Okay, so, oh my goodness. All right, Well, anyway, here's
the explanation of each individual thing. The X evidently represents
an unknown variable in math.

Speaker 14 (01:23:38):
Is what it's supposed to.

Speaker 13 (01:23:41):
The AE letter that's connected is the Elven spelling of AI,
which can mean love in some languages. Greg, And then
A twelve is a reference to the Archangel program which
created the s R seventy one, a very fast aircraft.

Speaker 2 (01:23:59):
Bothered Greg to see this, Yeah, our Angel program, the
whole thing, it's weird. Let me ask you, I'd like
to see the list of his other kids names. I
mean he's got twelve twelve. Remember, I don't know you
got one name, Kenny?

Speaker 14 (01:24:16):
Okay, there's one name exa dark sidereal?

Speaker 2 (01:24:19):
Okay? Is that real?

Speaker 14 (01:24:20):
That's real?

Speaker 25 (01:24:22):
Tech.

Speaker 13 (01:24:22):
I'm not messing around techno mechanicus with Grimes. All these
babies are with with Grimes. Excuse me, uh the artist
DJ singer Girl.

Speaker 2 (01:24:33):
Yeah, she's out about that.

Speaker 13 (01:24:35):
She is out there, she's got She's the one that
has like robot alien tattoos all over her body.

Speaker 2 (01:24:40):
Weird. Oh my goodness, I'm excited. He's got to be
up to.

Speaker 14 (01:24:46):
Good as youre Asure. That's the name. I have actually
at least heard a z u r E.

Speaker 2 (01:24:55):
Okay, all right, this makes me feel better. Just make
you feel better. See guys, I mean he's just annoyed
for some reason. He's connected to him with our president
and let's don't forget. I know, he gave him some title.
They're supposed to work on spending and all that, and
that's awesome him and and I get that, but he's here,
is hanging close to the president. Can I say this great?

(01:25:16):
And we don't know? Why would you mind for just
just give us today? Just give us today. Could we
have a day that we actually feel good about about
the direction of the country and we're leaving the Biden
deal and I do and Trump, even if it's an
evil alien that's taking over. I would rather have that
than Trump. Yeah, I mean Biden. Even if it's yeah,

(01:25:37):
I'd rather have that. Economically, it's probably good for our
new company that we're going to start off in the
first four years of Trump. You know things like that.

Speaker 12 (01:25:45):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (01:25:46):
Excited.

Speaker 3 (01:25:47):
It's just a lot of weirdness around this guy, right,
but but I know that the story.

Speaker 2 (01:25:51):
Give us a day where we can story about his nanny,
this weird can we just I'm asking all them ask
for us today, Greg, and let me let me go there.
I'd rather I wish it was swimming. I like him better,
but let's go.

Speaker 14 (01:26:04):
He was running for Ohio's governor, by the.

Speaker 2 (01:26:05):
Way, is he That's what he's in there? Found this
this new Department of Wasted Money. That's something the doze
new Department of Wasted Money. It's good name. Listen, listen
to me, Listen to me Gray, just for one second,
it is true. Let me let me hit you with this,
all right. Let me let's throw out the possibilities because
it is weird, all right. So there's no argument that

(01:26:26):
it's weird. Okay, that's there's no argument that no one
can make a case that should looking easy still on it,
I love how you said it. Go option option number one.
Option number one is that he is in Ailien from
another plant. Yeah, that's got to be on the table,
all right. Option number two a big one, the anti

(01:26:47):
crist I'm not going there, okay, But the number two,
But I don't think he meets the criteria for that,
frank Frankly, we've been studying that a lot. I don't
think he meets the criteria. Okay, So I'm gonna I'm
gonna take that one off the list to talk to.
All right, okay, Three, would you be okay with this?
And this is what I'm kind of pulling for. Eccentric Yeah, okay,
just eccentric on the spectrum, a little bit on the spectrum,

(01:27:09):
a little bit genius, genius, and he definitely falls in that.
People can be too smart. None of us at risk
of that, you know we are. It's kind of like
some people say, you know, those pure breads can get crazy.
The best thing you need a mutt. Well, we're all
much Yeah, we're dependable, we can be somewhat trained. We're
not going to throw you. You know me, you show up, right,

(01:27:31):
But three, that's not in front of the other two. Well,
I just wanted to I want to end on because
you know, I've tried to have a good day, right,
so I wanted the other two to get out there.
Let them settle a minute, okay, and then I want
to come back. Or he could just be a centric
and that's probably and he could be an asset. I'm excited,
I am, but I just want to point out this

(01:27:51):
guy is weird. Go now, there's no needs a weird
guy right up next to your president. Okay, where's JD.
E Vans? I thought Eline was bout the president. I
see dat man. So the watching movie. He'll be late.
Phone calls her next he word enough eight eight eight,

(01:28:16):
the number six and then big vox. If you want
to talk to us, Uh, Willie G, you'll take your
call's neck.

Speaker 1 (01:28:24):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Okay, are you ready.

Speaker 2 (01:28:42):
To bring something to the table?

Speaker 1 (01:28:44):
Call mo and get on the show. What eight eight
eight six?

Speaker 2 (01:28:50):
Big box and lines are open. The real Greg Burgess
better known as Willie G, the new host for Coast
to Coast. That was a good one in text too, also, Uh,
everybody wanting to see me bust some moves for Inauguration Day.
Still playing hurd but I may do it. I'll know

(01:29:12):
that could roll the ve I may do it. So
also thank you. Somebody wants to wish Greg a happy,
safe and blessed new year, very good. And also the
question that that particular texture is asking, h just just
email me. I'm happy to help you with that. Okay,
So some things you need to know. First, Man Church
conference coming up, going to be going on this weekend

(01:29:34):

go ahead.

Speaker 12 (01:30:02):
Began, I should say, Began's is bigger this morning?

Speaker 2 (01:30:06):
Yes? Sure, not as big?

Speaker 15 (01:30:10):
No, not as big?

Speaker 12 (01:30:11):
Yes, I should say eternal neck one.

Speaker 2 (01:30:16):
I got an update on that today. You're gonna love
uh No.

Speaker 26 (01:30:20):
And uh I was just agreeing with Greg I think
Elon Musk and all of his wives and children are
from that strange planet called your ain't it?

Speaker 5 (01:30:28):
There we go so you have to do it?

Speaker 2 (01:30:31):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (01:30:32):
Michael in beautiful North Carolina? Michael, how are you?

Speaker 10 (01:30:36):

Speaker 26 (01:30:36):
Guys? I got a question. I'm not saying that, y'all,
are you know, kind of leading us in the miss
mistruth if that's the way of saying it.

Speaker 15 (01:30:46):
But I do have a question.

Speaker 26 (01:30:48):
I had to go back and watch the Friday show
because I missed some of it, and Greg said something
about Gary and Speedy looking a lot of lock. Yes,
and now now Gary is coming out with all of
his talents. Yes, And I kind of went back and looked.
I don't think that anybody has talked about Uncle Duke
since Gary came on the same.

Speaker 2 (01:31:13):
Well, you got us, hey, not a bad dancer, by
the way. I'm sorry, Speedy. It was it was fun.
It was fun. Maybe it was me after the dancing
thing became, you know something, the Gary and you looking
like pictures, Golly, I couldn't get enough of them over
the weegad.

Speaker 6 (01:31:30):
I could.

Speaker 4 (01:31:32):
Tell me you didn't laugh at that picture? Tell me
you didn't laugh.

Speaker 2 (01:31:35):
I did laugh.

Speaker 10 (01:31:35):
I did Terry laugh.

Speaker 2 (01:31:38):
We don't need to see that.

Speaker 4 (01:31:44):
By the way, thank you Terry Wilburn for breakfast this morning.

Speaker 2 (01:31:48):
County.

Speaker 4 (01:31:50):

We've got some other formula and of course our little
boy Larry Wayne, Larry Wayne. Let's continue. Caleb, Caleb out
of Birmingham. Caleb go ahead.

Speaker 9 (01:32:17):
Hey, yeah, I was calling just talking about the Kings
of Tupelos that that guy mentioned on Netflix last week.
Fair warning. I mean, don't just go throw it on
there because it is wild. But uh oh, Greg, I
don't know if he's if he's looked into it or what.
But I mean it is insane and I ain't really
heard y'all talking much about it. I wouldn't say that
you suggested on the show. I mean it's it's pretty wild. Yeah,

(01:32:41):
but here's some crazy stuff going on out there. Because
I ain't going back to Tupelo, I ain't going back
to Scruggs.

Speaker 2 (01:32:47):
I ain't doing nothing up there.

Speaker 5 (01:32:49):
Wild.

Speaker 2 (01:32:51):
Yeah, Greg saw one of them. He thought it was
a little more weird than it was funny. He said
he wasn't going to give up on it though. Did
you finish it?

Speaker 12 (01:32:57):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:32:57):
He had gone back. I mean that means he's done. Ted, Yeah, daddad,
all right, Todd, go ahead. Hey, I got a I
love the new show, y'all, thanks.

Speaker 15 (01:33:09):
And I got a question for you.

Speaker 9 (01:33:11):
What the heck are y'all saying when you say big
box as in Boy or Big Vox as in Victor.

Speaker 12 (01:33:20):
I've been wanting to ask this.

Speaker 15 (01:33:21):
For a long time.

Speaker 9 (01:33:22):
I don't understand what you're saying.

Speaker 2 (01:33:24):
Did you do can school?

Speaker 13 (01:33:25):
Is that?

Speaker 2 (01:33:26):
Stewart? Yeah?

Speaker 9 (01:33:27):
I can't.

Speaker 15 (01:33:28):
I can't.

Speaker 2 (01:33:30):
Yeah, But I mean, all right, so let's let's just
use let's just use our reasoning. First of all, there's
thousands of people, uh that are having no issue with
it whatsoever because they realized that the company is called
Big Vox V as in Victor o X Entertainment. Uh my,
my handle on social media is Rick big Vox with

(01:33:52):
a V as in Victor Burgess. Okay, the seats literally
have v o X on them. In the studio behind
me is big Box with a V. And we've been
using the code for about probably seven months now and
everybody seems to be operating it just fine. And we've

(01:34:13):
explained several times, but it's a mattress, big box. There
is no mattress, Todd. And I want you to know, Todd,
that we're going to move you to the top of
the prayer list today and I want to read I
want to reveal to you today that this isn't all

(01:34:34):
that complicated, and it's been explained a number of times
and the reason why I'll started. But here's where I'm confused.
And I'm really going to throw you a curve. It's
actually the animal, big fox.

Speaker 4 (01:34:44):
But no, let me let me tell you what. Let
me tell you the weird journey on this, Todd. I'll kidding.

Speaker 2 (01:34:48):
Aside is I was told, as was the syndicator, that
the promo code Rick can't be used because they don't
use codes anymore that only have four letters or numbers.
But yet Blaze TV just did a commercial where the
promo code was Rick. So I don't know either either
that wasn't right or it is. And plus there's a

(01:35:11):
number of people named Rick. It's a very it's a
very common name, especially even in radio. Oddly enough, so
I couldn't get my own name because it was already
taken if you must know, by a gay lawyer. Uh So.
But anyway, so that is that is, that is the
That has been a funny thing from the years of

(01:35:32):
rock bands when they would say background lead vox b
as in victor, which is Latin for voice was the
lead singer. And we used to we used to see that,
you know, on on albums when we were kids. So
we thought it would be humorous. We didn't know it
would be too big a mountain for some to climb,
uh to uh to make fun of that about how

(01:35:53):
loud I am and and it basically means big voice.
And but that's been explained. It's been playing the number
of times and and really if you'll just look like
things like the website, my social media all over the studio,
you can.

Speaker 4 (01:36:09):
Kind of put two and two together. That's probably what's
being said.

Speaker 14 (01:36:12):
So h wait a minute, like just a minute, So
big box is everywhere except in the code it's different.
It's big box.

Speaker 4 (01:36:23):
So uh so, yeah that hip fair hipped it. Okay,
So so I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (01:36:30):
I didn't mean for this code to be such an
uphill climb for some that was never it was to
it was to synergy, to tide altogether so that this
show is recognized as getting credit for all your response
and it doesn't go to anyone else, which helps us
make a living and pay the bills. So there you go. Uh,
but thank you, Todd.

Speaker 9 (01:36:50):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:36:50):
Let's go to Let's go to Robbie.

Speaker 4 (01:36:53):
Robbie, welcome to the Rick Burger Show.

Speaker 2 (01:36:55):
What's up?

Speaker 14 (01:36:57):
Board?

Speaker 2 (01:36:57):
And boys?

Speaker 10 (01:36:57):
Can you help a man out?

Speaker 14 (01:36:58):
Sure?

Speaker 10 (01:36:59):
I I've got a marital bet going on. I told
my wife I could call and get y'all to spend
the wheel. And you know, women think we can't do anything.
I don't even want to win, don't care if I win.
So if you'll just spend that wheel, she has to
look me in the eye and say, wow, honey, you're amazing.

Speaker 2 (01:37:16):
All right, we're spending it next. That's done. I won.

Speaker 10 (01:37:22):
I can't talk going up for the men today.

Speaker 2 (01:37:25):
I hang on, Robbie, we'll spend it when we come back. Okay,
hang on just second? Can you hang on?

Speaker 17 (01:37:29):
All right?

Speaker 2 (01:37:29):
But I hang on, we'll come back. We'll spend that
for Robbie, just to prove he's right.

Speaker 1 (01:37:34):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, all right.

Speaker 27 (01:37:53):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:37:53):
By the way we forgot we are. We're getting updated
from Spain right here. So we're gonna take the caller
and we'll move him and call him back so we
can do something that has rarely happened. And married life
is for him, not his wife, to actually be right.
It doesn't have a lot. It does not have a lot.
So we're gonna make that dream come true for him

(01:38:13):
and spind the wheel coming up in the next segment.
But I know, I know what all of you out there,
especially those of you in the Deep South. It is
the apocalypse winter weather, some of it all kidnesside can
be serious. So especially really the temperature is more than anything.
So we do want to get an update. So here

(01:38:34):
we go.

Speaker 1 (01:38:35):
So what's up with the weather? Here with the latest?
Here is meteorologist James Spans.

Speaker 2 (01:38:43):
Welcome back, budd.

Speaker 6 (01:38:44):
It just I just feel so inadequate after that big
title introduction there, James Spad.

Speaker 2 (01:38:50):
When I sent when I sent that in for you,
I thought I'm about to I'm about to win old
James over. We're gonna have man. Yeah, And it was fun,
you know, we love singing the song and all that.
That was a lot of fun on the Rick and
Bubba Show. But I thought, you know, everything's new, and
we got some new beginnings as we love the past
and celebrate and enjoy all that and certainly so grateful
for it. But I thought, why don't we give James

(01:39:12):
a little edge since he spent all those years walking
working in radio. Do you remember that, James, where you'd
you'd post, get the voice guy and you'd post a song,
you know, and the guy would do the call letters
and then the frequency and boom, then you'd hit right
there on the song perfectly.

Speaker 6 (01:39:27):
Do you remember how Goodness Warm Memories WTBC Tuscaloosa boom,
and you played Saturday nights all right for fighting by
Open John and you know, yeah, some some kicking song
that coming out of the top of the hour.

Speaker 2 (01:39:41):
Idea, those were the glory days. It's funny, you see
I missed that, and so we want to do that.
But yeah, one of the first show, I think, one
of the first shows I ever did, as far as
you know it was real on the campus radio station
is I did Don't Look Back by Boston and I
and I waited and let the start of Boston even
before the dropping. I remember the person who just worked

(01:40:02):
they almost were about to correct me. You forgot the
top of the hour, but they didn't know I was
doing what you were talking about, And I remember vividly.
I let it go for just a minute and then
the giant voice guy ninety two j W L J
S Paul's Jacksonville and it hit right on the lead run. Yes,

(01:40:22):
they don't get any better than that, does it. Oh?
I get chill bumps thinking about those days. Yeah, good,
But I'm doing that is actually the voice of the
great Ken Osborn. He's been doing. Yes, he's been doing
voice work for a long long time as a legend,
and he was just born with something that frankly, not
everybody has. So James, let's talk about it. Here we go.
I mean, you said, if we could get to Monday,

(01:40:44):
we'd have the clearest picture on more of the details. Now,
you've always were pretty confident about the deep, deep cold
that we're in, and so many people are in and
it cannot, frankly be quite dangerous. You need to be
sure that you can.

Speaker 1 (01:40:58):
But that's the easy part of the four K.

Speaker 6 (01:41:00):
Yes, I mean understand, you know you've got some people
that don't have an adequate source of heat. Low income
families You've got some elderly people, and it's easy for
those of us that live in a house with heat
and you don't think about it, but understand it does
impact a lot of people. So we have this the
coldest are so far this season. That's a given, and
that's going to stay in place through midweek. And we've

(01:41:21):
got a Gulf Coast runner and this is going to
be what might be an historic snowstorm for cities like Houston,
New Orleans and Mobile.

Speaker 2 (01:41:29):
How about them, Apples.

Speaker 6 (01:41:31):
We've got winter store mornings in effect all the way
from really the southern tip of Texas. I do weather
on a radio station in McAllen, Texas, which is the
lower Rio Grand Valley, as far south than Texas as
you can go, and I've got them.

Speaker 2 (01:41:44):
In a wintry, mixed tomorrow morning. Well, they'll see some snowflakes.

Speaker 6 (01:41:47):
But Houston, Lake Charles, New Orleans, Biloxi, Mobile, Pensacola will
likely see some accumulating snow and in some cases maybe
two three inches or more.

Speaker 2 (01:41:59):
How about that.

Speaker 6 (01:42:00):
We were looking at the record books for Mobile. The
last snowfall that exceeded two inches in Mobile was the
Great Blizzard of nineteen ninety three. Oh, it was a
big one, and so Mobile had two inches of snow
with that event, and they might see that much maybe
three with this. The last time they had three inches

(01:42:21):
of snow and Mobile was in February of nineteen seventy three,
so you have to go back over fifty years for that.
So winter storm mornings south and east Southeast Texas, South Louisiana,
South Mississippi, and South Alabama, and for those in the
northern parts of these states, places like to Memphis and Birmingham,

(01:42:43):
probably not much at all. You might not see a
single snowflake. So again it's a deep, deep, South Gulf
Coast snowstorm. And understand one thing about it. The infrastructure
is cold because of this cold air. And obviously the
cold air came in yesterday and today temperatures will barely

(01:43:03):
barely get above freezing in these winter storm morning areas,
and tomorrow they could stay below freezing all day. So
with the cold infrastructure, the snow will accumulate really quickly
and roads become pretty rough. And understand our friends in
Mobile and New Orleans that they don't have a lot
of experience driving in snow. So most all the school
systems have closed for Tomorrow and Wednesday.

Speaker 2 (01:43:25):
And that's the thing.

Speaker 6 (01:43:26):
You know, you get a couple of inches of snow,
it's not going to go away, and they'll have icy
travel Wednesday morning. And in some places where the heaviest
snow accumulates, they could see some problems on Thursday morning
as well. So this is a fairly high impact storm
for the Gulf Coast. By Thursday afternoon, that's when temperatures
get up in the forties and that's when things should

(01:43:47):
really start to improve. And by the time the weekend
gets here, temperatures go back in the fifties and it's
going to be all gone. But if you're looking, let's
say you've got a child that really wants to see
some snow, my advice would be bat Rouge, Louisiana, bayman
At Alabama, Andalusia, Alabama, Wow, Troy, Alabama, Macon, Georgia, and

(01:44:11):
again for Interstate twenty, the big cities of Birmingham and Atlanta.
A lot of questions about the impact there. There's a
chance Birmingham and Atlanta will see nothing, not a single snowflake.
Having said that, you guys know, there's a limited skill
set we have in dealing with winter storms in the
deep South, things can go sideways, and if by chance,
the surface low is a little farther to the north,

(01:44:34):
and if there's just even a quarter or a half
inch in Birmingham and Atlanta, that could be a big miss.
And it would and it would begin for these cities
Tuesday afternoon or Tuesday evening and then be out really quickly.
And again every bit of guidance we have in the
house suggests that's not going to happen for Birmingham and Atlanta.
The problems well to the south of there. But having

(01:44:54):
said that, you've got to keep your head on a
swivel when it comes to this stuff, because we all
remember going events in the past like twenty fourteen.

Speaker 2 (01:45:02):
Go ahead and say it, even though you don't think
that's gonna happen. No, no, it can't.

Speaker 6 (01:45:06):
Because in twenty fourteen we had light snow and it melted.
The ground was warm, and then the air was so
cold we had a flash freeze. In this case, the
ground is not warm. I mean, you go out there
after all this cold air we have, the snow's not
gonna melt. But even with that being the case, still
a quarter a half inch of snow could create a mess.
We don't think it happens, but just easy, you know,

(01:45:29):
be aware. Yeah, just use your common sense and kind
of watch how this thing unfolds and we'll see what
the atmosphere delivers. Listen that the weather doesn't know anything
about these winter store mornings, county lines, interstates, They don't
know about us. Weather's gonna do what it's gonna do, right,
and we'll just have to watch and see how it unfolds.

Speaker 2 (01:45:45):
But more confidence today than you've had on the not
on the temperatures. Y'all had the temperatures dialed in for
a while, but the precipitation, this is the clearest picture
we've had so far. Wow, we can say this is
obviously high.

Speaker 6 (01:45:58):
We're about twenty four hours after the event, and when
you get that close, confidence is relatively high that the
big problems will be across South South Louisiana, South Mississippi,
South Alabama, South Georgia.

Speaker 2 (01:46:09):
Yeah, and do you think back into southeast text excuse me,
speaking of doing weather, I'm thinking about some of the
local weather people in these markets. I bet you how
many times have they even been able to forecast the
kind of snow that they're going to get I bet
a lot of these places it's something they've never heard.
I mean back to ninety three. I mean you said

(01:46:31):
was probably the last time, and most of them probably
weren't doing weather then. I mean, I don't even if
they were. I don't even know if those guys were live, right, yeah, yes, yeah,
because usually you're just doing the opposite today. That is
normal for those of you that are not familiar with
this part of the country. These cities that Bubba's I
mean Bubba that SPAN's talking about, these are usually the

(01:46:52):
ones he says, Now, if you're in these places, you're clear. Yeah, right,
And now he's covered around and said, no, these are
the places where you really get you you're gonna have problems. Yeah, yeah, Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:47:02):
It's a whole different ballgame here. Interstate ten. It could
be an ice skating rink tomorrow afternoon. Through Louisiana, Mississippi,
South Alabama, and even parts of the Florida Panhandle lot
you know, tip Typically when you look at the Interstate twenty,
you know, we talk about Atlanta and Birmingham and these places.
We're on the southern edge of all of this. No, no, no, no, no,

(01:47:22):
we're on the northern edge. So strange of this thing
this time. Yeah, feel strange.

Speaker 2 (01:47:26):
So here's what and you know, and I had some
fun with you yesterday, a random text out of nowhere saying,
hey's it going to snow and thank you for having
a sense of humor on that. No one's asking you that,
but you know, I told you our game plan. We're coming.
We're in Birmingham for those who don't know, we're coming
in with everything. We need to not go back home
till you know, Wednesday late, but thinking and hopefully we

(01:47:50):
it won't be an issue, but we're gonna be prepared
just in case it changes at the last moment. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:47:54):
We call that the course of least regret, right, Yeah,
that's the right thing to do. We don't expect it
to happen, but again, I think things can happen that
we don't know about. So Birmingham, Atlanta, those are the
two big population centers in the northern French. Stuff. It's
a close call. You might see a few snowflakes at
the moment. We don't expect any problems, but again, watch

(01:48:17):
it like a hawk. Be ready to get home when
you got to get home.

Speaker 2 (01:48:20):
Thank you James Spam, gonna talk to you, brother. Thanks
a lot, all the good day you say, there it is.
There's the latest and that's the most accurate on this
that you've heard. And make adjustments wherever you are.

Speaker 1 (01:48:32):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. This is what Trump
had in mind when he sought to make America great again.
The Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (01:48:52):
Yeah, we're part of it. The inauguration today. Will get
an update from Brian Dawson from eighteen nineteen News coming
up next hours. He's there. Of course, they've made changes.
We talked about it a lot. National championship for college
football tonight Martin Luther King Junior Day. We're celebrating today.
A lot of you out of work today. Uh, And

(01:49:15):
Robbie called us. Robbie, I forgot. I'm sorry. You know,
when there's so much demand on SPAN, you have to
take him when you can take him. And this is
when he was scheduled to be own with us. So
I apologized that for a moment, you know you you
had a joyful celebration and then we delayed it. So
sorry about that. So, Robbie, are you off work today
for Martin Luther King Junior Day? Yes?

Speaker 10 (01:49:37):
I am ready to go watch inauguration.

Speaker 2 (01:49:39):
Okay, and then in your wife let's review for those
that have just now joined us. Okay, so what what
do you? What do you think? Tell us what your
wife said and what we're about to do for you. Oh,
Robbie big over, Okay, yeah, go ahead. I'm sorry, somebody

(01:49:59):
call you.

Speaker 10 (01:50:01):
She'd been married, we've been married over twenty years, and
she's never admitted that I'm amazing. And I told her,
if I could pull this off, I didn't even have
to win, but she will have to look me in
the eye and say, wow, honey, you're amazing. This is
like it's just it's just like winning one for the
home team.

Speaker 12 (01:50:18):
Guy.

Speaker 2 (01:50:22):
So your wife, when we spend this wheels, is gonna
say you called that show and got them to spend
that will. Wow, Robbie, you're amazing, you amazing.

Speaker 10 (01:50:33):
Absolutely, that's it for twenty in twenty years, that's all
I want to.

Speaker 2 (01:50:38):
Hear for twenty years. Just one time you wanted your
wife to say, Robbie, honey, honey bunch, you're amazing, amazing.

Speaker 10 (01:50:47):
That's right. Yes, that'll do it all right, So I will.

Speaker 2 (01:50:50):
Look, I mean, I'm gonna go back to bank one
here and we're gonna we're gonna show Robbie's wife. What's
your wife's first name? Do you want me to say?

Speaker 10 (01:50:59):
Candy? Candy at work?

Speaker 2 (01:51:01):
Hey Candy? Now, hey Candy. Robbie is amazing, a little encouraging.
Don't spend it if he wins money?

Speaker 27 (01:51:19):
Right now?

Speaker 2 (01:51:32):
You got that was a little inauguration dance stud.

Speaker 14 (01:51:35):
You have a little bit of a cage.

Speaker 2 (01:51:38):
Money. Well, you know how you get out there and
you don't run full speed, you know, after you're coming
off and internet kind of he's into it. Just a
little move there. Yeah, all right, an amazing Robbie. Who
do you want to spend the wheel for you? You
want Adler? Greg's speedy or me to spend it? Man,
let's go with Adler. Adler is gonna come out and
spend it for the amazing Robby. All right, So here

(01:52:03):
we go, Robbie, this is for you, This is for Candy.

Speaker 14 (01:52:06):
Doesn't he have to say it's will to me damn.

Speaker 4 (01:52:08):
It or no not, that's not you don't put that
part at the end. You just say it's will to me.

Speaker 2 (01:52:13):
Spin it. It's will to me, spin it? All right,
go Robie, Robbie you say that. Mhm, Robbie. Hey, Robbie,
this can't.

Speaker 1 (01:52:29):
I don't.

Speaker 2 (01:52:31):
Is he own? He's not there?

Speaker 14 (01:52:33):
What did you have a stroke?

Speaker 2 (01:52:35):
Okay, let's see here his wife, his wife, Robbie, his
wife came home, Robbie, Robbie, he's not there. What's going
on now? Okay, Robbie, Greg, what are you doing here?
What happened?

Speaker 8 (01:52:47):
Robbie nerves, that's all messed up, all right, So Robbie,
you will it's will to me spin it, it's will
to me.

Speaker 2 (01:52:58):
Spend it all. Robbie got young out for Ronnie. You see, Robbie,
if you win money, if you win money, Candy, Candy's
gonna say your plan.

Speaker 10 (01:53:14):
Come on, money, he got it, Robbie robted.

Speaker 5 (01:53:26):
No, I mean, I mean you barely won, Robbie and money.

Speaker 2 (01:53:45):
Oh my, you almost had to hear Greg ran about something.

Speaker 12 (01:53:48):
Now.

Speaker 10 (01:53:49):
Well, now, now the days and the lucky.

Speaker 2 (01:53:55):
You are amazing, Robbie, you're amazing. Well this this wrong?
Thank you boy? Oh hang on, Robbie, Robbie, hang on.
Want you won five hundred dollars? Robbie. Yeah, Hey, unbelievable,
thank you boy. Hey, you know what you can say? Hey,
Candy Robbie's amazing. She'll agree now, Yeah, that's how about

(01:54:18):
that candy? Oh that thing stretched and just about the
pop came back the Hey, I noticed something about you
and your dance. Okay, so you don't put pressure on
your hair? You got this lane back?

Speaker 14 (01:54:32):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (01:54:33):
Well instead of going no, let me change something. I
won't do that hip hop anymore. And hip hop's over.
Hip Hop's dangerous and will.

Speaker 15 (01:54:43):
Hurt it. Man.

Speaker 2 (01:54:44):
So what I'm doing now is I'm keeping it back here.
Let your look keeping it back here. You got him
wait over a different party.

Speaker 9 (01:54:51):
Well, you know what trying to walk up.

Speaker 2 (01:54:53):
But you know how you go into the field. If
you go on the field, you know what you do.
You don't you don't lean on what's hurting. So I
think I can stay back here. I can't believe that Robbie,
which is all dancing for Robbie. Oh, I know Robbie.
He's been here blacked out for a little bit. What
he said when he originally said, I don't care for
when I don't even want nothing. How you feel that

(01:55:15):
all you do it? I don't blame you. Yeah, boy,
he is amazing, Okay, I said, as a married man,
I feel like I just wanted to. I think he
won for all of us. And see, somebody said earlier
and you were right on the text person. Somebody said earlier.
But is Robbie now being so bold that even to

(01:55:35):
win will be to lose And the answer was yes,
until he won money. Now, once he won, money changes,
Money does change every if you if you think a wife,
you will be mad about a man that just said that,
this guy does five hundred dollars. Ain't, no, ain't. Nobody
will be mad about that money. Money. That phone came
back when we kind of lost him when he panic

(01:55:57):
and I got caught up in it. Right right, I'm
I'm gonna hear from big time rushing this one.

Speaker 14 (01:56:05):
Somebody on YouTube said, probably should have never told his
wife to listen, you.

Speaker 2 (01:56:10):
Know, I never we're talking about And you know what's
beautiful about this. He won the amount they won't even
get text if it's under six hundred. Yeah, that's good.
So he's clean on this one. He just wanted something anyway,
I know. Unfortunately our thousand dollars, Winter didn't think about that.
Still still a lot that is just we're law abiding,

(01:56:32):
lost the process. We're law abiding. I know, a W
nine when you got your chat with the W nine
and it'll come out that the rest. Yeah, all right,
well let me tell you something. Uh, it's about time
a man gets a big win like that. Look has
done this for a lot of guys. Yeah, he just
called up the guys. I want to be a hero
to my wife, and I said, sure, why not. Let

(01:56:55):
me sell you. Let me sell you. He goes on
the list of lucky women. Today's Candy. That's right, Candy
has gotten a amazing, amazing Yeah, and he's gonna hear
that to him. All right, Robbie, hang, Biden's president.

Speaker 14 (01:57:07):
For like three more hours.

Speaker 2 (01:57:08):
Guys, what a day, you know.

Speaker 15 (01:57:09):
What a day.

Speaker 2 (01:57:11):

read one statement before our guest comes on. Just let

(01:58:38):
me read the text as is. I was text by
our countant, Big Time Rush. Let me read it verbatim. Rick,
Please don't tell people that this is not taxable. They
are supposed to claim it regardless. Everyone should claim every
amount of money they win, are given or earned regardless.

(01:59:02):
This just simply means we, as a company, Big Vox
Entertainment Vox Vox v as in Victor, do not have
to send them at W nine. Please stop telling people
they don't have to pay taxes. Okay, I didn't. Well,
I just know that it's under six hundred. But he

(01:59:24):
Robbie still has to report it. We just don't have
to report it that we gave it to him. Okay,
we don't that. I'm sorry. Okay, well he's I think
big time Russian. He's like and he's He also put
underneath how much money's left in the wheel budget and
he says, I'm blowing We came out a little early.
We said I'm blowing through it pretty quick. That first

(01:59:45):
week we hit two k yes. All right, So inauguration
Day eighteen nineteen, news Brian Dawson joins us. Brian, Welcome
to the show, buddy.

Speaker 12 (01:59:55):
How are you, man, I'm doing well, it's a good day.
More hours, we're taking it back.

Speaker 2 (02:00:02):
So there you go, taking it back. You are there.

Speaker 4 (02:00:06):
So let's let's jump to the obvious.

Speaker 2 (02:00:08):
Okay, there were a lot of security concerns, and those
are legit because we it's not hyperbole to say there's
already been two attempts to kill President Trump during the
election process, so we know that's factual. One that came
really close. Uh So, a lot of people, including I'd

(02:00:31):
like to hear how you felt about it, but a
lot of people were saying, this needs to be secure.
We need to take some steps here that we normally
wouldn't take because of the obvious. This changing of the
outdoors indoors reduced audience to I think someone said six
hundred senators, representatives and maybe some large donors. That's about it.

(02:00:56):
Any are you buying at all this has this is
just about the weather or is this absolutely about security?

Speaker 12 (02:01:03):
Well, I mean they've been doing inaugurations in January for
a long time and I don't know that they've ever
moved it inside. And it's cold, but it's not especially cold.
I mean, I live in Alabama and I've been up
here walking around to everything, sometimes without even a jacket on.
When it was like thirty five, I guess it's like
twenty three. Now it'll probably get up to around thirty
by the time of the inauguration. So no, I do

(02:01:24):
not buy that at all.

Speaker 2 (02:01:26):
So so you think they do? You think this is
just a general Hey it needs to be secure, or
do you think they had entail that, Hey we got
to go inside.

Speaker 12 (02:01:36):
Yeah, I mean, I don't have any inside information on that,
But what I would say is that because of how
late they made that decision to do that, that would
have to come from some type of you know, outside variable,
you know, because it was planned to be outside. They
had already put the chairs up and then all of
a sudden, Hey, we're gonna we're we're calling an audible
at the line of scrimmage, right, and by doing that,

(02:01:58):
that makes you think that there's probably some type of
a legitimate threat or something like that. And again this
is just we're all guessing here. We don't know that,
but I mean, you know, it doesn't take a lot
to come to that conclusion.

Speaker 2 (02:02:11):
So what happens to you, Brian and the media? And
what where will you be now? Now you are you
able to watch the inauguration? What what happens to you?

Speaker 9 (02:02:22):
Yeah, so.

Speaker 12 (02:02:24):
Everyone's basically going to be at a watch party at
like a restaurant or something. We're watching it like a
football game now, which is very unfortunate. But you know,
the people that are up here, they're not you know, yes,
they want to be up here to watch the inauguration,
but really it's a huge celebration and I mean that's
that's been the environment. Everyone's up here having a good time.
They're having balls and galas and dinners and all this

(02:02:44):
kind of stuff all over DC, Maga hats everywhere, and
everyone's just having a really good time. Of course, everyone
would like to, you know, be there in person to
watch this historic moment, but they're they're you know, they're
still going to be up here having.

Speaker 2 (02:02:58):
A good time. What's the attitude they're from a protest standpoint?
I mean, I know that, you know, the left could
not let January sixth go. They obsessed over it. And
of course they've always been a great example of how
to just take your losses and act in a very
lawful and you know, calm manner. What's going on their

(02:03:20):
tongue firmly in cheek on that one. But what does
it look like from a protest standpoint? Is there is?

Speaker 9 (02:03:25):
It?

Speaker 2 (02:03:26):
Does it feel pretty calm?

Speaker 12 (02:03:28):
It does, and so much so that it almost feels
too easy because of the resistance that we felt every
step of the way from twenty fifteen Trump coming down
the escalator to today, the amount of resistance that he
has phased, and as soon as he won the election,
it's like it all went away and then everything's been
really subversive, like this morning when they announced that he
was pardoning Liz Cheney, Anthony Foulcie, and General Milly. It's

(02:03:55):
kind of like, you know, the Clinton's taking the silver
where when they you know, when they left the White House,
Like those type of things, So it does. It almost
feels too easy. There's not there's not the resistance one
would expect. And I just I refuse to believe that
they've just packed their bags and went home and said
we'll try to get in four years. I don't see
that happening. So it does make you a little bit nervous.
What are they doing?

Speaker 2 (02:04:15):
Okay, so you're saying almost uncomfortably calm correct.

Speaker 12 (02:04:20):
Yes, and I mean I've not been all over DC,
but I mean, and again, the way they've got this
thing locked down, which is worth talking about too. So
like like on a security level eight of z Okay
one to ten continuum. A one was Butler, Pennsylvania on
July thirteenth, right where the kids got the range finder
out and it is able to take shots at a president.

(02:04:42):
That's a one on the security scale. Well, then a
couple of days after that, we were in Milwaukee at
the RNC and that place was locked down. I'm talking
perimeter fences with like military forces everywhere. US Coast Guard,
helicopters like circling everything. This isn't that, but it's pretty
close to it. And with that, so you haven't been
able to get anywhere by uber and so at first

(02:05:04):
you could. And so they're kind of like systematically walking
down more and more and more until today. Uh so
that's been kind of a nightmare trying to figure out
how to get around, and so everyone's basically giving up
on the ubers and they're walking and all of that
hiking that I've been doing, I've not seen one anti
Trump protesters.

Speaker 14 (02:05:20):
That doesn't mean they're not somewhere here, but sure.

Speaker 12 (02:05:22):
It's they're they're certainly not making a scene.

Speaker 2 (02:05:25):
Yeah, there are somewhere, or maybe they're just because I
saw some of the funny post. Of course it could
have been an old one might not have been anything
to do with now where they show leftists, you know,
claiming that Trump is deranged in a psycho while they're
like dressed with female dressed as a part of the
female anatomy, you know, and their face their face in

(02:05:48):
the middle of it, like the middle of a flower,
and they're saying that Trump is psychotic, you know, and
they're like you to change the outfit there before you
call someone else's psycho. You realize what you're dressed, right,
But anyway, so there's a lot I think that makes
us feel good that there's so much security. Frankly, I

(02:06:08):
was concerned that there wouldn't be enough.

Speaker 12 (02:06:11):
Yeah, No, we don't need to repeat the Butler's security
that was bad.

Speaker 2 (02:06:15):
Yeah. People are saying that Reagan's eighty five was indoor
due to the weather, but that doesn't really stand up
on this though, because the weather then I think might
have been worse than this. Everybody doesn't feel like this
is tied to the weather.

Speaker 13 (02:06:30):
No.

Speaker 12 (02:06:30):
I mean, I'm looking outside and it's sony as can be.
You know, again, sonny twenty three degrees, But I mean
every time they do something up here in January, it's
gotta be twenty something degrees. Like, I don't it doesn't
get really warm up here, I don't think.

Speaker 2 (02:06:44):
Yeah, and we also know the persona of Trump, he
would have absolutely gone outside and defied anyone to take
a shot at him. But it's not really his call
on this kind of stuff.

Speaker 12 (02:07:00):
Correct, Yeah, that's my exact thoughts. He's the type of
no way, I don't care how cold it is, you know,
we're going. Well, you know, I don't care about death threats.

Speaker 2 (02:07:09):
We're going.

Speaker 12 (02:07:10):
And so it would seem that there was a decision
that was, you know, must have been a vote. He
only had one vote, and he got out voted. And
that's the way it went.

Speaker 2 (02:07:17):
Brian Dawson with eighteen nineteen News. Brian just quickly with
about a minute left, what does today mean for America?

Speaker 12 (02:07:27):
Man? I believe and this is not hyperbole, you know,
and I'm not going to get too far into it,
but the law March to the institutions where the Marxists
have been trying to rip apart Western civilization by hijacking
our institutions, beginning with academia, seminaries, churches, the media, the
Democrat Party have came in and rehab it on the

(02:07:48):
West and specifically the United States of America for one
hundred years now. And Donald Trump was the first person
ever really to stand up to this regime in this
march and just punched them in the face like a bully,
or you know, punching the bully in the faith. And
then they continued to push against him. No president has
ever seen the resistance that Donald Trump saw. Again, from

(02:08:09):
when he came down the escalator to when he got
elected to when it was Russia, Russia, Russia, the impeachments,
all of these things, no one has ever faced that
kind of resistance to the point of then the law fair,
you know, him getting arrested and charged with felonies and
getting shot in the head. They do not. I mean,
so what does it mean all of that? And we

(02:08:32):
want anyway, we want anyway, and at new it starts
over and we take our country back, we take Western
civilization back, and we say no to the communists. So
that's that's what I think it means.

Speaker 2 (02:08:44):
Well, then I don't think that's an exaggeration at all,
based on the fact you just listed. Hey, Brian, also
thanks for having me on eighteen nineteen. Used the podcast
that'll be dropping. They can just follow you on social
media when that actually comes out.

Speaker 12 (02:08:59):
Right Wednesday at three pm Control.

Speaker 2 (02:09:03):
There you go, Okay, good, we'll come out Wednesday, three
pm Central. We had a great conversation about the new
show about man Church and the country. Thanks a lot, Brian.

Speaker 1 (02:09:11):
This is the Rat Budget Show. Hello, broadcasting from the

(02:09:38):
The Rick Bridges Show.

Speaker 2 (02:09:41):
All right, we're back. Thanks for being with us today.
Our thanks to Brian Dawson with eighteen nineteen News for
the update from the inauguration. They have gone high security.
Good uh and so hopefully all that will run smooth today.
We've talked about the rally last night. Also from the
text line, I've come to the conclusion that everybody who

(02:10:03):
uses the text line is one of Greg's minions, because
they're very Greg like, you're all very very funny. But
they're waiting every day for commentary on what we were
to work, commentary on the current state of our hair,
current state of anything. They seem to all have greg
ablity to shoot a basketball. Yeah, they seem to have

(02:10:25):
Greg's attitude, which is fun one of them.

Speaker 4 (02:10:29):
And you are right Texture.

Speaker 2 (02:10:30):
I'm not going to disagree with you, but I will
give a brief explanation which ties into this story from
the weekend. Hey Rick, you're coming in hot with that
shirt or whatever this thing is. You have this warm clothing,
zip up thing. You're coming in hot with this one.
This is only the eleventh edition of the New Show,
and I think this is your third time to wear it.

(02:10:52):
And I will say this, I will say this, no, No,
you're one hundred percent right. But there is an explanation
we some of you know this. I live in Sweet Home, Alabama.
We only have literally a handful of winter clothes. We

(02:11:13):
just don't use them. We never wear them. We don't
have any. I went to church yesterday and it was brisk, cold, whatever,
but I knew I was just gonna walk from my
car to the church and back. I didn't even have
a jacket on. I just put on, you know, one
of my few warm shirts. And I just want you
to know, for the kind of cold that we're having
in the South, I think I literally have four things

(02:11:37):
that would work for that. We just don't wear that.
It never happens. We don't deal with this kind of
cold weather much at all. And so my text her
just said, I go by what y'all are wearing to
know how I need to dress. So I just don't
have many things that are appropriate for the top or
whether we want to cut you some slack, I'd like
to really pounce on you make fun. I kind of

(02:11:58):
thought you were, I know, but let me just say,
because I don't want to be hyppocritical, I consider that
almost like a jacket. I can wear it multiple times washing.

Speaker 4 (02:12:05):
So if you look underneath, I've got that on under Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:12:08):
I mean that's just the way I said. Rock and camo. Yeah,
so I am coming. Do you think you're sharpen it? Yeah?

Speaker 12 (02:12:13):
You do.

Speaker 2 (02:12:14):
But there it is. There it is. But I will
give you a pass because I have you know what
I'm saying. I may wear them like three or four times.
The washing it. Yeah, somebody said that you look nice. Listen,
I understand, and hey, that's why flannels. Look I'm talking
to the collars are all right. Yeah, but I get that.
I'd make fun of it too, but it's really warm show. Yeah,
I go.

Speaker 4 (02:12:34):
People said the texting bunch, the texting bunch.

Speaker 2 (02:12:37):
Or punch you. You are correct, but I like it.
I like what you're doing and thank you for participating.
And it's always a lot of fun. And so yeah,
I'm rotating this a little hot because it works for
this kind of weather and we just don't have many
clothes much clothing that does. And I think I look
good and I think and I might be just slightly
sharp by the way I've made it into this show

(02:12:59):
two and a half fours.

Speaker 4 (02:13:00):
Greg hasn't noticed. I got my haircut on.

Speaker 2 (02:13:02):
Friday, all right, so it wasn't a deep drim so
so speaking of speaking of clothing, so everybody remembers, you know,
I've been I love the person that said, oh number
one is taking some shrapnel here in the new show,
and I have, uh, you know, the dancing injury has
been the subject of much fodder, and then there was

(02:13:25):
the turtleneck incident. The turtleneck incident has haunted me. I
want that in the studio as much as the the
dancing injury and it and it's not letting go, okay.
So I go to church Sunday and I'm teaching this
particular Sunday. So I'm getting on my notes, sat on
the little you know, table, in the chair in front

(02:13:47):
of our class, and all of a sudden, out of
the out of the class, Allan who's in our class, says,
wait a minute before we go any further, I just
want to give Rick a gift from the class. And
I knew this was going south because Alan's a little wacky, okay,
he loves a good one, okay, got a great sense

(02:14:08):
of humor, and is a I mean, he's really pretty
much up for anything. Okay, He's one of those. And
I thought, why this is not going to be a positive.
He's even and then you get that point going, well,
class about Tim appreciate it, and well, thank you all
his hard work getting ready, and so he he says,
I don't know how many of you have seen rick
and his turtleneck, and I thought, well, here it's over now,

(02:14:31):
and he goes, so I got him something to go
with it, and he resents me with a tweed jacket,
a tweed with with the elbow pads and everything. He
did say he miscalculated my weight loss. It was a
little big on me, but that makes it. I think
he got that from one of those second hand stores

(02:14:52):
or the you know what was it dress? But so
he said, everybody with a turtleneck on the cold day
needs to be able to put on a tweed jacket. Yeah,
so the class gave me a tweed jacket. I got
to have that in the turtleneck to go with my
Who dares me to wear that entire outfit tomorrow? Gotta
have it, gotta have it. Let me tell you the
text that you'll never see. Ricky wore the turtleneck three times.

(02:15:17):
You're never going to hear that, even I'm promising now
this one of these things he's sharp end. He's going
to continue in but he never so you'll never see
the text Ricky going to quit wearing a turtleneck as usual.
Greg started out somewhat defending me. But now is telling
me that that though though I'm wearing this course of cold,
I am also wearing because I think I'm sure.

Speaker 3 (02:15:36):
You know that's that's the fact. Well, I noticed something
about this staff. We don't like jackets, so we try
to just wear something and we can stay in all day. Yeah,
and you not have to toe jacket around.

Speaker 2 (02:15:47):
How do you like my tee jacket? You dare me
to wear it? I wish you got to have it.
I'll get you piepound? Is it a little big on me?

Speaker 14 (02:15:56):
Nick?

Speaker 12 (02:15:56):
With it?

Speaker 2 (02:15:56):
I got that's that's a fantastic look.

Speaker 12 (02:15:59):
Rick.

Speaker 2 (02:16:00):
Yeah, now done. There's my others. If the one of
two that I have, that's there, We'll be back.

Speaker 1 (02:16:07):

(02:18:06):
that road, so yesterday, it's some of you that may
be new to the show. I think most everybody kind
of knows the different stories of everybody on the show.
But I just wanted to just say thank you to
all of you out there, because it really is quite moving.
I mean it really is. I mean moving is the
word that some of you out there that have just

(02:18:28):
prayed for us and all of us all these years,
that with no prompting whatsoever, you will send a praying
for you today, thinking of you and Sherry today when
January the nineteenth comes around. I just can't even there's
no words for me to say how much that means

(02:18:48):
to our family, that this is something that is not
just on our minds obviously every time the nineteenth comes around,
but it's also on your mind enough that you even
reach out and say praying for you today and then
maybe even offering an encouragement of you know how this
seventeen now year journey, if y'all can believe that seventeen

(02:19:09):
years ago yesterday and those of you that don't know
but seventeen years ago, yesterday, Sherry and our youngest son,
William Browner Burgess went to heaven and it was you know,
it was calamity, it was horror, it was terrible. But

(02:19:30):
so much has been learned. And you know, Sherry took
five years hammering out the book because I do think
they're always and it's all right. God's not afraid of
these questions, but he also answers them. Okay, And you
know you've heard this, it's not a new statement. So

(02:19:50):
when things like this happen, and you even hear those
that oppose our faith and oppose our belief, and the
one and only living God, who who is gracious, is merciful,
is loving, you know, they love for moments like that
to say, now where is God? Now? Where where is
God in this? Burgesses?

Speaker 17 (02:20:10):
You know.

Speaker 2 (02:20:10):
And of course Sherry's answer biblically sound is right in
the middle of it. That's exactly where he is. And
but you also have to understand what we're living in
that God is merciful, he is gracious, he is loving,
but he is also equally just, uh and and he
is holy, and he is wrath and and and and

(02:20:33):
all of these things are are equal as far as
far as his his characteristics. But suffering is not something
that God has been silent on. It is throughout scripture.
And I know it's difficult for some people to hear,
but many times God is allowing suffering to take place

(02:20:53):
for our own good, for his kingdom to be advanced,
for us to be tested, for us to be given
a platform. As C. S. Lewis said, pain and suffering
is God's megaphone to a sleeping world. And there's all
kinds of things that scripture says that God uses suffering
for many uh. And and one of them is as

(02:21:17):
out of the Book of James, and all these verses
are Sherry's book is full of all these scriptures. If
you've never read it or used it as a gift
to someone who's struggling, it is really really an incredible Uh.
It's a book about God, and it's a it's a
book that God ultimately wrote through Sherry's obedience and and

(02:21:37):
and the gifts that He's given her. But here's one,
and there's so many in scripture, we don't have time
to go through all of them. This is James h
Chapter one, verse two. Count it all joy My brothers
when you meet trials of various kinds. Now that that's
an interesting statement. So I'm in a trial and I'm
supposed to count this as joy? Well, yeah, and then

(02:21:59):
it says, for here's the answer for you know, meaning
we should know this, the testing of your faith is
what's going on produces steadfastness. And then in four and
let steadfastness have its full effect. Cherry and I really
unpacked that over the weekend, that you may be perfect

(02:22:19):
and complete, lacking in nothing. Now, what in the world
is James saying? Or ultimately, what is God saying through James?
And it means that And I know what I'm about
to say right now is going to be a lot
of you are going to go what is he saying?
But I'm just telling you the truth going through this

(02:22:42):
and there's days seventeen years later. You know, you do
the typical. You know, if God had a different plan,
Cherry and I would still have a son in college.
If if you want to go to college, who knows
what he would wanted to do. Turning nineteen in May
of this year, you know that kind of stuf. But
but God completed his life on earth at two and

(02:23:03):
a half but when when God took us through this,
and I want to choose my words because I please
don't hear me say that there that this is a
pleasant thing, because it's not. Please don't hear me say hey,
I want some more of that, because I don't don't
hear me say you know something that that I'm not saying.

(02:23:26):
But I am going to say this. This steadfastness that
that James talks about when you get put in a
position that God loves you enough to put you in
a position because of people like me, that that you know,
one of the biggest sins I struggle with is self reliance.
I'll get to God on the big stuff, but I

(02:23:48):
got everything else, and you know it is what God
taught me. The biggest lesson through this wasn't that I
struggled being strong enough. The thing I struggle with is
being weak enough and being totally under the authority and
totally dependent on God. Because Oswald Chambers said this over
the weekend, because I'm going through his devotion again when

(02:24:11):
he says, are you more devoted to service for Christ
or to Christ himself? Which one? Are you more devoted to? Service?
Is fine? But it better flow from you being first
namber with Jesus, not ennambored with service for Jesus, but
Jesus himself. And so which is a profound statement. And

(02:24:32):
in this particular case, when one of your children, and
so many of you out there have been through this,
and some of you are going through it now, my
heart just breaks for you. But I am thankful that
God's allowed us to have a ministry for you. And
we've been in the battle with so many of you,
and it's been an honor to do so. Because there

(02:24:54):
is something different about somebody saying I've been there. Doesn't
mean other people can't help you, but boy, when those
I've been there people show up, it is a little
bit different. And so this was so heartbreaking, and this
was so horrible, and I was so broken that it

(02:25:14):
was the first time in my entire life that I
was completely dependent on God, not for some things, for everything,
to breathe, to tie your shoes, to stand up. Now
here comes the part that may be strange to you,

(02:25:38):
And it was wonderful, and it was wonderful. It was
completely beautiful to be that dependent on God. And I
find myself seventeen years later, not wanting to go through
it again the steadfastness that James is talking about, that

(02:26:00):
I got to experience God in such a way that
my devotion to him should never ever be the same.
You should be more steadfast because you got to it
through suffering, experience God in such an intimate and personal
way that I hope you're more devoted to Him than

(02:26:20):
you've ever been because you actually experienced Him in a
way you couldn't have any other way. And I find myself,
I find myself chasing that sometimes. You know, I don't
want to go through that again, but I find myself
chasing that total dependence, and it has worked as a
marker for the rest of my life when I still

(02:26:43):
continue to when I do something stupid because I am
justified and I am being sanctified, but I'm not yet glorified,
so I still make mistakes, just like the you know,
the apostle Paul talks about all of us with our
send nature wrestling that in Romans chapter seven. But I
will say when I do something like that, and I
just look back at him and I say, I cannot believe,

(02:27:04):
after all that you've carried me through and how well
I know you, that I just did something stupid again,
How could I ever justify sinning against you, because because
when you get to know him like that, just like
everybody else, all you all you want to say is
just holy.

Speaker 17 (02:27:23):
Just I I.

Speaker 2 (02:27:24):
So when people say, well, you know, do you bother
you know, it doesn't bother me. I'm telling you what
I've said it a thousand times. Difficulty is not surprising
since we're such a sinful people and God allowed difficulty.
That doesn't surprise me. It's the grace and mercy he
keeps showing me. This most surprising, that He's so good

(02:27:45):
to me, that that's the most surprising thing. And so
just thank y'all so much for for again checking on us.
And and you know, as the years go by, you know,
sometimes we talk about it, sometimes we post about it,
sometimes we don't. But I just want to say thank
you and then remember once again, because all these markers

(02:28:05):
for us to remember. You know, what God did and
continues you to do through all that, and I've never
been the same. And even when I start drifting back
to my old self, that's a marker to bring you
back to what God is continuing to do and you
press on. So thank you very much. We'll be back

(02:28:28):
more of the Rick Burgess Show coming up right for this.

Speaker 1 (02:28:35):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the only show hosted

(02:29:00):
by an Oxford graduates, well Oxford High School. Go with
the Britchie show man.

Speaker 2 (02:29:08):
We're cracking out another one. Thank you for being with
us today. Now a lot of you remember back earlier
on the program, Robbie called and his name was Robbie
and he amazed. He said, here's what I want. I'm
just gonna ask you. I've been married to my wife,
Candy for twenty years, and I want her to say
that I'm amazing. And that's all I've everyone to hear

(02:29:31):
in my twenty years. It's my wife to tell me
I'm amazing. Now we cut Greg's Mike off on that one,
but also Robbie said, so I told her I could
call this show and get y'all to spend the wonderful
will of bundles, bits and bucks, and I want her
to see that I can do this. So we we did.
We said, well you know what you're gonna get You're

(02:29:51):
amazing from Candy today and dog gone it. If it
didn't spend money, he won five hundred dollars dollars and
on the text line. We have a text from Robbie's wife,
the woman am married to the now married to the
amazing Robbie Candy, and she said, and here it is,
here's the public statement. This is what she just texts

(02:30:13):
to this show a little while ago. I would like
to say he is amazed, and she can't get it out.
She stopped at the Z. She said, this is Robbie's wife, Candy,
I would like to say he's and she can't finish
it and uh. And then she says, not gonna say
it all the way because I could never live with

(02:30:33):
his ego. After that, thanks for the fun this morning,
we get a ha ha there uh and uh and
then she says, especially for the five hundred dollars. I'm
sure Robbie is home doing the Trump dance.

Speaker 1 (02:30:46):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:30:47):
So uh so Candy didn't quite say it. And he
almost called him amazing, almost called him amaze. He was amazed.

Speaker 14 (02:30:54):
So today.

Speaker 2 (02:30:58):
Almost couldn't quite say it. So today is no more
Biden day, not just the inauguration. Well, we wonder Mike Johnson,
the Speaker of the House, and you said, speedy number
three in line to the president, uh talked openly about
when he realized that Biden was not running the country now,

(02:31:19):
and so here he is speaking about that.

Speaker 14 (02:31:25):
Yeah, sorry, I was.

Speaker 2 (02:31:27):
I'm hung in a stair and watching the Biden's welcome Trump.

Speaker 14 (02:31:30):
I'm sorry, I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (02:31:32):
By the way, that is on TV right now.

Speaker 28 (02:31:36):
Finally, I just went to the whole press corn and said,
the President is not being allowed to meet with a speaker.
There's a problem. So they started putting pressure on him.
Long story short, they finally relented. They invited me to
the White House. I show up and I realized it's
actually an ambush because it's not just me and the President,
it's also Kamala Harris, Chuck Schumer, Hakeen, you know, the
whole the CIA director, everybody. And then so I walked

(02:31:56):
in the oval and oh, I know what this is.
This is a they're gonna box the speaker on Ukraine funding.

Speaker 10 (02:32:01):
That's what it was.

Speaker 28 (02:32:03):
This is probably third week of January. We sit down,
we're in the midst of it, and the cold conversation,
and I'm going, we don't need to have this conversation.
The President reaches over just like this. We're sitting in
the right next to the fireplace in the oval, and
he grabs my arm and he says.

Speaker 1 (02:32:15):
The speaker and I just need a couple of minutes together.
Would y'all just leave us alone?

Speaker 28 (02:32:19):
And I looked up on the faces of some of
the staff stand around the wall, and they're like, no,
he did it, so he called it. He's the commander
in chiefs. Everybody leaves and he and I are standing
awkwardly in the middle of the Oval office, right over
the rug by the cofee table, and I said, Miss President,
thanks for the moments. You know, this is very important.
I got some big national security things I need to
talk to you about that I've heard and I think
you know and what do we do? But first, real quickly,

(02:32:39):
miss President, can I ask you a question I cannot
answer this from my constituents in Louisiana. Sir, why did
you pause LNG exports to Europe? Like I don't understand.
You know, liquified natural gas is in great demand by
our allies. Why would you do that because you understand
we just talked about Ukraine. You understand your fuel in
Vladimir Putin's war machine because they got to get their
gas from him, you know. And he looks at me,

(02:33:02):
stunned with this and he said I didn't.

Speaker 1 (02:33:04):
I didn't do that.

Speaker 28 (02:33:05):
And I said, miss President, you yes, you did. It
was an executive order, like you know, three weeks ago.
And he goes, no, I didn't do that, and he's
arguing with me. I said, miss President, respectfully, can I
could I go out here and ask your secretary to
print it out. We'll read it together. You definitely did that,
and he goes, oh, you talk about natural gas? Yes, sir,
he said no, No, did you misunderstand? He said, what
I did is I signed this thing to we're gonna

(02:33:27):
We're gonna conduct a study on the effects of LERG.
I said, no, you're not, sir, you paused it. I
know I have the terminal, the export terminals in my state.
I talked to those people this morning. You're this is
doing massive damage to our economy, national security. It occurred
to me Barry, he was not lying to me. He
genuinely did not know what he had signed. And I
walked out of that meeting with fear and loathing because

(02:33:48):
I thought, we're in serious trouble. Who is running the
country like, I don't know who put the paper in
front of him, but he didn't know why.

Speaker 2 (02:33:55):
It's not good.

Speaker 5 (02:33:56):
That's not good.

Speaker 4 (02:33:57):
Yeah, he wasn't dodging. He really didn't know. Now does
that come on, guys? That doesn't spry.

Speaker 2 (02:34:02):
I mean, it is good to get confirmation of people
that actually interacted with him. But there's nothing that Johnson
just said that surprises in back in this room, right, No,
not at all. I think that really hit home with him.
He was like, Okay, so it's official.

Speaker 14 (02:34:15):
Yeah, you know, that's like an official, concrete right. He
didn't remember, he didn't know what he didn't know.

Speaker 4 (02:34:22):
So the good news is we don't have to worry
about that anymore. Not today, No, no, not today.

Speaker 12 (02:34:28):
Now.

Speaker 2 (02:34:28):
It was not good that we've been through that.

Speaker 14 (02:34:31):
No, that wasn't good for the country.

Speaker 2 (02:34:33):
And he's cranking out exec pardons and all this right now,
like these pardons that are supposedly coming from him, he
probably don't know about them either. Well, Greg, I think
we could say that with some comments.

Speaker 14 (02:34:45):
They did unveil his new commemorative stamp, though, which I
thought was nice. He's got that love no sense.

Speaker 2 (02:34:56):
Many have texted this, and I'm sure a lot of
you have emailed this too. Do you think like we're
watching him stand there to greet the Trumps right now
on a live TV or moments ago. Do y'all think
he knows it's his last ding? Look? And I know
that sounds like we're piling on, But I'll be honest,
because I mean I have some experience in this, and
I bet he doesn't. I really I think he said

(02:35:19):
that point. Yeah, yeah, they might think they're coming over
for brunch.

Speaker 14 (02:35:23):
He knows it today, will he know it tomorrow?

Speaker 2 (02:35:25):
Yeah?

Speaker 14 (02:35:27):
Wake up and be like, hey, Obama, what are we
doing to should Harry carry?

Speaker 2 (02:35:36):
I'll tell you not a joke. It is uh top
of the.

Speaker 14 (02:35:42):
Hour from serious. I'm not kidding around.

Speaker 2 (02:35:44):
I'm not kidding, No, not joking. I'm not joking. Happy
Inauguration Day.

Speaker 1 (02:35:52):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Big Bucks Enter Team
but presents The Rick Burgess Show with Speedy, Greg Burgess,

(02:36:14):
Edie Van Adler, and Rick Burges.

Speaker 2 (02:36:20):
Yeah, here we go. Thank you, Ken Osburn a brand
new I work. Thank you for being with us. Inauguration Day,
Martin Luther King Junior Day, the National Championship College Football Tonight,
what to day. Much to discuss and we've hit a
lot of it. We had the latest updates on all that.

(02:36:41):
You can catch it on the Archives today have you
missed it? Either on the YouTube channel or the podcast channel.
There's also a best of hour on the podcast channel,
a best of video hour on Blaze TV for all
the Blaze TV subscribers. You know, with Trump going in today,
let's face it, the Republicans have asked those of us
that are a little more conservative, are like Adler, that

(02:37:04):
are alt right, to lock in and give them power.
But you know we need to do hold them accountable. Hey,
they better do what we send them there to do.

Speaker 5 (02:37:13):
Right.

Speaker 2 (02:37:14):
So, if you're like us, and maybe you qualify as
being part of the Association of Mature American Citizens, let
me just break this down for you. The conservative version
of AARP. That's what this is. AARP kind of mush
mouth on that one AMAC dot us slash big vox,
big vox vs in Victor. Hey, listen up. There's one

(02:37:39):
hundred day tracker that is available if you are a
member to hold the Trump administration and all those that
we sent their accountable get it done. It's a powerful
tool that keeps you informed on the administration's progress, It
tracks key priorities, empowers you to join the fight. First

(02:38:00):
on gar America, the first one hundred days critical critical
that we established the foundation of change. Right now, you
can get thirty two dollars. You go, thirty two dollars
for five years. It's normally sixty such a forty seven
dollars discount, So go right now and join. You get
all the discounts.

Speaker 4 (02:38:18):
Also, you know on travel and restaurants and all.

Speaker 2 (02:38:21):
That's part of it too. You get the magazine. So
go to AMAC dot us slash big vox vox as
in Victor and also find a link at Rick Burgess
show dot com under sponsors and you can take care
of that, all right. So a couple of things to
hit to start the hour. First off, Adler does have

(02:38:41):
the bidens supposedly. I see now the Vance families coming
out to a very awkward moment with Kamala and Doug. No, Doug,
he's a pistol. But here here, here are the bidens
supposedly welcoming the Trumps. Yeah, so as it is getting up,

(02:39:02):
Hunter's wearing his hair weird o. Pardon and what if
he got carried away and you pardon? Trump here comes
all right, So they like, yeah, let me tell you,

(02:39:25):
just like all of our wives, Trump's pretty good. About
moving on, about people trying to kill him and all that.
His wife isn't she's still mad, just like our wives.
We move on on the horrible things y'all say about us.
Our wives have not moved on. They're made. Yeah, so
remember there really wishes he could get that.

Speaker 14 (02:39:44):
Button looking abandons the button, he says, so coat.

Speaker 2 (02:39:50):
Yeah, she did go with it. That's because that way
the Bidens can't see her looking at them like she
wishes them dead.

Speaker 14 (02:39:55):
The stink guy, she's hiding her stink eye.

Speaker 2 (02:39:57):
By the way, there's just there's just a hair of
Mary Poppins there, just a little bit of it. Oh,
she smiled.

Speaker 14 (02:40:05):
Between her a fake smile.

Speaker 2 (02:40:07):
Hey, hey, how whoa whoa? Go back? What's up with
the marine with his hat? Pushback like that?

Speaker 9 (02:40:11):
What you know?

Speaker 2 (02:40:12):
The wind guy? The wind the wind wind blew it
and he wasn't gonna move. Yeah, look at him. He
can't believe his hand looks like that. Here comes this
historical picture with the guy with the hat on.

Speaker 3 (02:40:32):
Sure do you think when they were walking in uh,
the Biden said, hey, we really voted for you. Do
you think maybe Jill did.

Speaker 14 (02:40:42):
Jill definitely did.

Speaker 2 (02:40:44):
That's interesting. Maybe I'm glad you got a way from
the hospital. Wait a minute, let's go back. Maybe that's
what Jill said to Malania. That got the small yes
yes as they turned around. Of course, we voted for
y'all too, So glad you're here. We voted for you.
We voted for you. I can't wait to get out
of here.

Speaker 1 (02:41:02):
You're doing.

Speaker 2 (02:41:04):
What was that that? That was just no, that's trumping
the freshman. That was.

Speaker 14 (02:41:10):
What you do Trump?

Speaker 2 (02:41:12):
Does it seem like he's constipated, don't know, he needs
some Watch right here when they turn and go, does
Jill say to Millenia, we voted for y'all two, and
I'm gonna watch the marine the whole time. Okay, his
hat is right right now, it is right. Yeah, the
marine doesn't wear his hat like that.

Speaker 14 (02:41:28):
And then Melania is gonna grab.

Speaker 4 (02:41:35):
I watched right here, and now she's already smiling.

Speaker 2 (02:41:39):
Maybe not the Marines.

Speaker 14 (02:41:42):
The flag guy him right in the face. Oh, he
can't believe it.

Speaker 2 (02:41:47):
Look at him. Flag ripped his hat almost off. Little Bobby.
He wants to dress like a marine. I'm gonna dress
like a marine.

Speaker 9 (02:41:56):
Dad.

Speaker 3 (02:41:56):
You think the marine on the opposite side of the
marine on the opposite side.

Speaker 2 (02:41:59):
He they'll never hear the end of that.

Speaker 14 (02:42:03):
Maybe Jill did say I voted for you.

Speaker 2 (02:42:04):
I think she did, because listen, Maloney goes here, thank you.

Speaker 10 (02:42:09):
Oh you hear that.

Speaker 2 (02:42:10):
She said, thank you, thank you. Here we go three two,
here she goes, I voted for you, thank you, thank you.

Speaker 14 (02:42:17):
You hear it.

Speaker 2 (02:42:18):
Vot vote for you. I'm practically perfect in every way.
I want to make America great again. Don't you know
that marine? His buddies? Oh yeah, what if you're in
the Marines with Greg and he was standing across from hey,
nice hat, Yeah, hey, hey, that pictures for every good
God love him.

Speaker 12 (02:42:35):
Well.

Speaker 3 (02:42:35):
The good things about it it's when their back was
turned to the camera, so that's really not going to
be a picture. And when they were standing there together,
which is going to be the picture. He was fine
that this footage.

Speaker 2 (02:42:45):
Always the few, the proud, Oh my goodness, the flag
of kids, the flag granddaddy.

Speaker 9 (02:42:49):
What happened to your hat?

Speaker 2 (02:42:51):
At one point you couldn't I know, hey he showed
this one though, I would have went, let me tell
you think that marine. Like somebody saying on the text,
you think he didn't get a new nickname oh yeah,
inside that group. Let's face it, the Marines don't seem
like to me that they're any less harsh than us. No,
I bet it's worse. Oh Yeahby sent this clip to

(02:43:14):
Andy Blank for me please, because you hope him being
Marine that'll bother him. And then that guys going back,
he won't be looking right speaking.

Speaker 13 (02:43:22):
Speaking of Biden, you speaking, You just sent me that
clip of Biden talking about the pardons that he's doing
last minute here.

Speaker 2 (02:43:29):
Yeah, this was way back.

Speaker 3 (02:43:31):
This is this is when Trump, okay, was take about
to take office, or he was taking office and Trump
was on his way out, okay, and Trump was starting
to pardon people and he was asked about these last
minute pardons?

Speaker 2 (02:43:42):
Would that bother Biden? Is he concerned about it?

Speaker 14 (02:43:45):
And so Biden's going to be asked about last minute
pardons in the past.

Speaker 2 (02:43:49):
Meanwhile he just did a bunch.

Speaker 14 (02:43:50):
Well, yeah's President Trump is reportedly considering a wave of
preemptive pardons.

Speaker 2 (02:43:57):
Does this concern you all, these amptif partons.

Speaker 23 (02:44:01):
Well, it's ah, it concerns me in terms of what
kind of precedence sets and how the rest of the
world looks at US as a nation of laws and
uh injustice.

Speaker 2 (02:44:13):
Uh, yes, of course.

Speaker 23 (02:44:14):
You're not going to see, uh an our administration that
kind of approach to pardons. Nor are you're going to
see in our administration, uh, the approach to making policy
by tweets. You know, it's just going to be a
totally different way in which we approach the justice system.

Speaker 2 (02:44:31):
But you did pardons just like that. You're doing them
right now. You may not know it. Yeah, you may
not know it. That was December twenty twenty. Yep, but
you but you did, Yes, you did, you did. We'll
come back.

Speaker 14 (02:44:43):
That's not an admission of guilt now though. No Pauci,
Liz Chainey, Mark Milli at then they didn't do anything.
But I am going to pardon it.

Speaker 25 (02:44:53):
Will find you, Sam Gregory, greg We'll be right back
on Inauguration day on The Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (02:45:05):

that you would like to have a discussion today on
public safety and you can't have nothing. Hey, I'm gather. Yeah,
So you find yourself headed to hunts for a Lot,

(02:46:45):
which is about two hours north of where we live.
You've got family there, you got a son there, two
sons there. You're grown there a lot.

Speaker 9 (02:46:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:46:56):
Yeah, since my aunt Lee's passing, it's I'm up there
a lot more handling, a lot of that you are
and to be a good son.

Speaker 2 (02:47:03):
We're winding down on the nephew. It takes time and effort.

Speaker 3 (02:47:07):
And there's other family members doing that too, sure there are,
but you got to be the league guy. Terry, and
I said, hey, we're going up Saturday, and we had
us a day and it gets to be baby late
afternoon and the front that everybody's talking about and we're
experiencing now, it was on the way cold, so the
wind was picking up.

Speaker 2 (02:47:22):
You could tell.

Speaker 3 (02:47:23):
It's just kind of misty, spitting rain, annoying, you know,
especially if you have things you need to move back
the right.

Speaker 2 (02:47:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (02:47:31):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (02:47:31):
And it gets late afternoon three ish, I guess, and
the phone rings and it's Reese. Reese is a third
year electrician apprentice and in it's a five year program
and he works, uh, six days a week on Saturdays,
it's an eight hour day and so he wraps up
around two thirty. So it's around three and the phone rings,
and I'm thinking, oh, Reese is checking in. I think

(02:47:52):
he was going to run back to Birmingham and see
some friends and all that and say calls And I
could tell you when your kids call you and their voice,
you know immediately what's wrong. He goes, hey, it was
in that you can't have nothing voice, Hey guess where
I am?

Speaker 2 (02:48:09):
And I went? Genolly, probably not a restaurant. You start eating,
do yours start? I always know it's bad if the
first thing they say is dad, Yeah, if they start
with if they.

Speaker 3 (02:48:21):
Start with dad, or you're not going to believe this,
or hey man, what are you doing? I'm like, oh,
he guess guess where I am? I said where he
goes south of the interstate with a blowout.

Speaker 2 (02:48:31):
I said, do what?

Speaker 3 (02:48:32):
He goes, Yeah, and he's been out in it all day.
You just you're done, You're nasty, and and I'm like,
oh my.

Speaker 2 (02:48:40):
Goodness, he goes, yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:48:41):
So I'm I'm in the process about to start, but
I just thought i'd holler at you and let you know.
And of course Mama Bear hears this, and she's like,
we're eight minutes from him, what's wrong with what's you know?
And now I'm having to you know, assistant coaches over here,
and she's just a going, you're in there and tell
him we'll be right there. And I'm like, hey, Rece,

(02:49:01):
we're gonna come over and help. We're gonna help. You
know this is I mean, I know you can do it,
but a two man job. We'll jump in there and
we'll knock this out. And I'm also looking at the time,
and I'm like, it's three three fifteen. Things that places
are going to start, you know, closing. And I said, hey,
while you're changing, give me the make of the tire
and all the dimensions and all this, and I'll start

(02:49:24):
calling all the way there to see who's got the tire.

Speaker 2 (02:49:26):
There you go, because then hey, you know what else
you battle?

Speaker 3 (02:49:29):
Do we change and put the spear on and go
Do we just take the tire off and take it
and get a new one or get it patched? What
a perseverity of it? Well, I didn't know what kind
of job were we're dealing with. So we pull up
and bless him. It's his driver's side back tire, which
is against the interstate.

Speaker 2 (02:49:49):
It's not on the other side. You needed it so
bad on the other side.

Speaker 3 (02:49:52):
And he said when it started going, and he said
it went down fast. It went from regular ps side
to like zero. He said, all I could do was
get it over to the side without running my rims
and everything else. And so the tires just sitting on
the grass, and the rims just sitting on the ground,
but he couldn't get over too far. I mean, he

(02:50:13):
could get over a little bit, but he's got two
tires in the grass and traffic is buzzy.

Speaker 2 (02:50:19):
What kind of shoulder were talking about it, Biggs, A shoulders.

Speaker 3 (02:50:21):
I wish you would have been bigger, but there was
there was open area to the right with a little ditch.

Speaker 2 (02:50:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 18 (02:50:29):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (02:50:29):
And so I'm like, man, this isn't good. And so
we start the process, which, you know, you got to
go in and you got to unwind the the despair
to drop from underneath the truck, you know, and then
you're trying to get the jack out, and then you realize,
for some reason, they sold a jack for a truck,
a trail boss that's not jacket up high enough so
you can't get anything off.

Speaker 2 (02:50:50):
Something that was frustrating block. But then we noticed a trend.

Speaker 3 (02:50:54):
Then we noticed a trend, and that is nobody's getting
over over and they're went by us and it's shaking
the truck to the point where Terry's going nobody's getting
over right. And I'm not talking about people pinned in.
It's a three lane interstate. I'm not talking about people
pinned in. But you still want to slow down and
be respectful.

Speaker 2 (02:51:13):
The law is you slow down. You can't get over there.

Speaker 3 (02:51:16):
I'm talking about people that have an open lane to
their left and they are buzzing by feet feet from us.

Speaker 2 (02:51:23):
I just glanced down at their phone, and nobody's glanced
at their phones these days. It's a good thing.

Speaker 3 (02:51:29):
So Reese he has to wear high viz stuff at work,
and so he has a vest I told Terry, Terry,
you put the vest on. Okay, now behind him. I've
got my hazard's on. He's got his hazards on. We
have a woman with a high viz vest on that's
got like, hey, we're here a quarter mile away. You
see somebody's got trouble. Get over what you ready for?

(02:51:51):
This the scary thing.

Speaker 2 (02:51:52):
Half of them are texting and they blow by us. Yes,
I was going to tell you. They're not being defiant.
They're not paying attention.

Speaker 12 (02:52:01):
Now.

Speaker 2 (02:52:03):
Everybody is so locked up and absorbed into their own
little life. They don't know what is going on around.

Speaker 13 (02:52:10):
If they see you, they'll they'll see you when they're
one hundred feet from you before it's too late.

Speaker 14 (02:52:14):
They're not looking way down the road. So if what
you what you can do if you have an extra
person in that situation, like Terry with the high viz jacket,
send her up the road farther away from drafting and
do this, ye wave to the side, get overlook, get
show a little bit of leg and say.

Speaker 2 (02:52:33):
They just don't care.

Speaker 3 (02:52:35):
So now we're in a situation where we found a tire,
we found a shop, but they close at five, and
I'm looking, I'm going on, oh, what are we gonna do?
So we finally get the spare off and j C
U A H is not far away. He's like, hey,
what's going on? I said, Hey, I need something that's
gonna we can get my jack on from my truck,

(02:52:56):
put it under there and jacket up even more to
get the spare on because we can't get the truck high.
No wow, And so he's like, I'm headed your way.
We got something in the backyard that's gonna work whatever.
So he said, I'm headed your way. So I told
Terry and Uh and Reese. I said, hey, y'all go
ahead in my truck, throw the spear in there, get
that started, and jay C and I'll button up.

Speaker 2 (02:53:18):
Here and then we'll be there. And so he gets it.

Speaker 3 (02:53:21):
He gets there, and so now he's the high viz
guy and he now he's getting mad, okay, and he's
letting some of them know.

Speaker 2 (02:53:28):
Somebody messes up yard dead. Yeah, and like I can
hear commentary, Oh Dad, that one's on the white line,
you know. And then I look up a covered time.
He's clapping, clapping, going what what are you doing?

Speaker 14 (02:53:41):
Man?

Speaker 2 (02:53:41):
And there's nobody in the middle lane. They have a lane.

Speaker 15 (02:53:45):
What is it?

Speaker 2 (02:53:45):
They're not paying attention? Do you see me? And go, hey,
I got this and be defined as opposed to what's
really happening.

Speaker 3 (02:53:52):
You're not paying attention. They're not paying attention, and he
was starting to be observant of that. He's like, oh
my gosh, Dad, that that person don't know where here, know,
and hey, please understand that they're shaking the entire okay,
flying with.

Speaker 14 (02:54:07):
Each one that whizzes by.

Speaker 3 (02:54:08):
Well yeah, and then at what point I'm like, so
we're that family, entire family killed on the side of
interstate because some idiot was texting and ran through them.
And so we finally get through it and it's all situated.
But when we were wrapping up, the boys kind of
looked at.

Speaker 2 (02:54:25):
Me and said, I gotta tell you that was scary up.

Speaker 3 (02:54:29):
But I think if we were to do a survey,
the problem we have is that I probably ninety percent of.

Speaker 2 (02:54:35):
Those that came back did not get over. Some did,
but others they couldn't even care less.

Speaker 14 (02:54:39):
They had to get on TikTok for bands.

Speaker 1 (02:54:43):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Three cities, three powerful weekends,
the Men Church Conferences, worship, challenge, discipleship and fellowship all

(02:55:05):
in one life changing weekend. Get your tickets now well Birmingham,
Panama City or Atlanta at Themanchurch dot Com Disciplemen change everything.

Speaker 2 (02:55:18):
This weekend Birmingham. If you don't have your tickets yet,
grab them. They're still available, will not be available at
the door, so you got to get them prior. And
there's still some room. And we got a big weekend
coming up and we can't wait. No weather issues involving
the Manchurch Conference in Birmingham. James Spend says, Birmingham may
not get anything, but even if they get something by

(02:55:40):
the weekend, we're all good, all right. So other things
to discuss on the program today. We've got a couple
of stories over in the UFO World. Now the UFO
World I know that we just can't get enough of
this kind of stuff. And now have they changed the

(02:56:01):
name or I like sticking with UFO. Didn't we change
the name on this? It's was it called now? Andler
U A P yeah, U A b U Yeah, Trent
Bilford look right here.

Speaker 14 (02:56:16):
And then there's also n h I that non human intelligence.

Speaker 2 (02:56:22):
There's also n I L. Yeah that's a good one. Yeah, no,
I'm not doing that. Yeah, let's just stay with UFO. Yeah,
let's stay with the UFO change it. What's the point
I understand that this is uh now love when you
look at the the way people get people to try
to click on stuff, extraordinary footage. This okay, this is
extraordinary footage. Job do we still have that? I can? Well, yeah,

(02:56:47):
that's one we probably won't to Yeah, but anyways, so
is this extraordiny? But well, well here's the thing though,
with all the fake world that we're in, you may
have extraordinary footage, But how do I know you didn't doctorate?
How to know it's not made up? How do I
know this is actually it? Yeah? Yeah, that one was
real and kind of find out his deathbeds and we
made it up?

Speaker 13 (02:57:07):
Right, This is supposedly a helicopter retrieval. So here's the helicopter.
Whre's the retrievement And supposedly it's a helicopter retrieval of
an egg shaped object dangling from the helicopter in a sling.

Speaker 14 (02:57:23):
And the craft is supposedly twenty feet long.

Speaker 2 (02:57:26):
Here's the footage obtained News Nation has obtained Udio Greg
obtained from.

Speaker 1 (02:57:36):
Hal.

Speaker 2 (02:57:37):
That's terrible. That sounded an.

Speaker 16 (02:57:40):
Egg shaped object?

Speaker 2 (02:57:43):
Head, it's an egg shaped Object's object object? That's all right?
So you hall, now, Greg, where are you on this?
Who's what are we doing?

Speaker 14 (02:57:56):
This is from the bottom of the helicopter.

Speaker 16 (02:57:58):
Supposedly it's done to take a closer look, to.

Speaker 2 (02:58:01):
Take a closer look. It is like eyes looking back,
you like at the faith. This guy's trying to be
the dateline English version.

Speaker 16 (02:58:08):
Hold the craft is about twenty feet long, the egg
suspended in a gig and looked. How careful the pilot
is as they bring their precious cargo.

Speaker 2 (02:58:19):
That's because it's Ladys. They're dropping her on the stage.
Whoever was have a big cow?

Speaker 10 (02:58:30):
All right?

Speaker 2 (02:58:30):
Well.

Speaker 14 (02:58:31):
Air Force veteran.

Speaker 13 (02:58:35):
FA Air Force veteran Jake Barber was interviewed by News Nation.
He claims that he was part of these retrieval who
did operations.

Speaker 4 (02:58:45):
This this veteran okay, the Air Force best guy right here?

Speaker 9 (02:58:50):
What was I?

Speaker 2 (02:58:51):
What ross?

Speaker 17 (02:58:53):
I was a highly talented airplane mechanic who got to
deploy on a number of presidential import missions.

Speaker 16 (02:59:01):
But Jake was no ordinary mechanic. Being recruited into the
Air Force's Ellitsive Combat Control Unit meant he had a
resume that reads like something helicopter pilot free.

Speaker 13 (02:59:15):
Anyways, this is the guy who claims he was part
of some of these retrieval missions as part of it.

Speaker 14 (02:59:20):
He's not British.

Speaker 2 (02:59:25):
I was the one letting down the egg? Was Lady
Gaga got out? I believe it was Lady Gaga, wasn't it?

Speaker 17 (02:59:42):
Here's you can't help but get involved independent as an
independent contractor, okay, so that I can serve what was
coming down the line next for me, and that is
the path which led to the UAP subject.

Speaker 16 (02:59:58):
Barba says he would control helicopter an undisclosed facility in
the desert, know what for you?

Speaker 14 (03:00:13):
Yeah, in the dire.

Speaker 2 (03:00:15):
Why got that look on your face like you taste
up on any big Foot shows any of U f
PS or whatever they are. Elemental P is trying to
be the English Keith Morrison. I think.

Speaker 14 (03:00:27):
This doesn't even look like it came from a helicopter.

Speaker 13 (03:00:29):
That looks like somebody's poking a balloon with a popsicle
stick or something like.

Speaker 14 (03:00:33):
It just doesn't look right.

Speaker 2 (03:00:35):
I don't believe it. It's like a balloon.

Speaker 14 (03:00:37):
It looks like a carpet, not a forest.

Speaker 2 (03:00:39):
I mean, what happened to it after they dropped? Yeah,
helicopter man, what did you do with it?

Speaker 14 (03:00:43):
It's as crazy ay as Jake Barber or whatever he
does have crazy. I knew you'd pick up.

Speaker 2 (03:00:50):
On the course what he does with his That's what
you got that of a thousand ladies and gentlemen, you're

(03:01:16):
giving this anything no again. I'm ready for some real footage.
I'm tired of looking a little dots, dick tags, all
that Mars Rover.

Speaker 13 (03:01:26):
And honestly, I'm frustrated with the drones that everybody's seeing.
And I got a buddy who's claiming he sees one
every night down in Mobile Bay. Every time, he says,
every night, and it's not cloudy, he can see it,
and it's sweeping the bay looking for submarines or something,
And I said, buddy, I am begging you to send
me a picture please any and also with all the

(03:01:47):
drones that everybody's claiming to see them.

Speaker 14 (03:01:48):
But why don't we have a single good, any good
footage of it?

Speaker 2 (03:01:52):
If it just hangs around like a shot up.

Speaker 14 (03:01:54):
Yes, it's the s u V. It's got lights on it.
Show me it's so strading.

Speaker 2 (03:02:01):
I'm not scared of a John egg. No, no, but
I need more than that because it's got the like
the cam footage of And you've seen the.

Speaker 3 (03:02:08):
Helicopter pilots that are fighting the l A fires. They
have that thing where they dip down in the water
that and it brings it back up and then they it.

Speaker 2 (03:02:16):
But yeah, I think I think it's probably better than
it's call it a pail. It's all up and then
they grab the water. Why are you when they don't
have good you see as the rope and the egg,
there's no other there's nothing.

Speaker 4 (03:02:34):
I mean, yeah, it's more than a bucket egg.

Speaker 2 (03:02:45):
It looks like the view. Have you ever seen the
lumberjacks the helicopters when they cut in trees and they
hook onto him, they cut it and he picks it
up and takes off with I like mine better. What
it looks like. Do you have a piece of numbullet's
like an aen egg. We're not obsessed with lumberjacks, like
we're not obsessed. Superman came out. I don't even know

(03:03:11):
what he's saying.

Speaker 13 (03:03:12):
By the way, Trump and Biden have left the White House,
the Trumps and the Bidens and the White House there
in that caddy.

Speaker 3 (03:03:19):
You think they're really in there, because why would we
show people where they are if we can't have things
out there?

Speaker 2 (03:03:24):
Goes Trump and.

Speaker 13 (03:03:24):
Biden then and how can They're headed to the Capitol
right now?

Speaker 14 (03:03:32):
This is history. Guys, you know who is in the aggots?

Speaker 2 (03:03:36):
From or from look in one of them?

Speaker 9 (03:03:43):
Go back?

Speaker 2 (03:03:43):
Can you go back?

Speaker 14 (03:03:45):
Can you go back to showing.

Speaker 7 (03:03:47):
He's get.

Speaker 2 (03:03:49):
Somebody mobody for the loss.

Speaker 14 (03:03:53):
He's betting whipped in the face separ.

Speaker 2 (03:03:55):
From all the flag. Excuse me, because it can't stop
doing it. By the way, Keith Morrison, the guy, I
don't know, he just haves nothing like this guy, but
just reminded me because it's like a daylight. He absolutely
owns me. Friday night. Friday night, I was done. He

(03:04:17):
gets in your hand. I was done for the night,
and Sherry said, look, I'm gonna read and I'm like
and she she was like, well, go do something if
you want to, and I'm I think I just go
flip around. Next thing.

Speaker 11 (03:04:26):
I know.

Speaker 2 (03:04:27):
Two hours later, I'm going to bad Sherry sound to
save Keith Morrison? Got me? Got me next?

Speaker 5 (03:04:33):
Or did it?

Speaker 2 (03:04:35):
Everyone thought this was where she was located. But what
they discovered next would change everything? And then he kept
going to commercial brace them. I can't leave to change everything. Yeah,
that's right, tons of commercials.

Speaker 14 (03:04:52):
So y'all don't think.

Speaker 2 (03:04:53):
They're in that car right now.

Speaker 3 (03:04:54):
I don't know, wonder who did you see him get in?
It's all let me walk there? Did the show walk
the ground?

Speaker 12 (03:05:02):
Right now?

Speaker 2 (03:05:02):
President Trump and Joe Biden appear to get in a
car together. So is what we discovered next would change
the course of everything. Joe Biden and Donald Trump drive away? Right?
What did they?

Speaker 14 (03:05:19):
But you know, I mean Trump's not even the real president,
He's a secret president. Militaries control Still, everybody knows.

Speaker 2 (03:05:30):

How are you guys? I'm doing great, good so on
the whole Ali in helicopter situation, Greg said, at first,
I hate that. My mind just rolls with Greg's generally,
But what does that say about what does what does
that say about me? But he said it, he was like,
look at the guy's eyes. So I was watching. I

(03:09:16):
don't even remember what it was. I'm kind of real
or something. There was a criminal psychologist on there, and
she said that the the psychotic killers that their eyes
are always way above the you know, the color part
of your eye. So anybody that holds their eyes like that,
it really kind of let you know what kind.

Speaker 2 (03:09:36):
Of person they did. Yeah, okay, you and Greg on
the same page normally, I mean they were wide open,
almost bulging.

Speaker 4 (03:09:44):
They were very wide scary.

Speaker 2 (03:09:46):
It's not just me, It's not just me. Christine noticed Okay,

But I want to say one thing. I wonder after
it's all said and done and they get a chance
to sit down, Milania and Trump be sitting there thinking,
I wonder where old Biden is today.

Speaker 4 (03:10:44):
Some people are saying we should adopt the salutation good Biden.
