Speaker 1 (00:10):
Big Box Entertainment presents The Rick Burgess Show with Speedy,
Greg Burgess, Eddie van Adler and Rick Bouche.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
Let's let it go. Release, Here we go. We're ready
to go for another hour or another day. It's another show.
Welcome to the Rick Burgess Show. As you've heard, the
gang is all here. We're ready to spend some time
with you again today as we roll through another one.
We got all the updates from stories since the last

(00:46):
time we were together. Always stuff going on within the show.
Your text are always interesting. That number is eight eight
eight six big vox or eight eight eights. It's two
four four eight six nine. So if you want a
text or call that the same number works for either one.

(01:10):
So we thank you for being here with us again
today and we will give you some updates. A lot
of you that were waiting on it. It's there. Episode two.
Tales from the Camp House, The Business Summit, Episode two
is there. Over five thousand of you have already watched it,
but if you haven't, go give it a look. It's

(01:33):
right there on the Rick Burgess Show YouTube channel, easy
to find and enjoy that it was a great job
by a producer, Young Brod Rick Burgess, good job, son,
A great job by everybody involved. Thank you Addler for
getting that up ready to go and you can go
enjoy that as well as yesterday's show. A lot of

(01:55):
hyph You know, you have to understand the world that
the four of us live in. We've been doing this
type of and I used the word entertainment loosely, I know,
but we've been doing this a long time. I've been
at it about forty years. Speed he's been at it
probably about the same, you know, as long as we've

(02:17):
been doing some sort of radio, even before we were
ever doing anything together. We probably both around forty years.
You think, hard to believe? Close? Yeah, Greg and Adler
y'all right around. Of course Adler did some before he
got here, so he's probably twenty years.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
Do you count college radio.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Yeah, sure, yeah, in around twenty years, Greg, you're about
seventeen years something like that, sixteen seventeen. So I did
read like the weather one time when you were on
nine two Jay that count okay, I was hanging out
with I don't think we're going to count that one.
That was back in the eighties, remember that, Yes, gregt vaguely. Yeah,
when people press me on the eighties. I'm like, yeah,

(02:55):
give me a minute. That specific you want me to go?
Fuck Greg, high school eighties, I can tell you all
about it. Oh now, you let me get into those
mid to late eighties and early nineties and I'll have
to get back to a little reaper. Right my run
from from from late eighty three to uh to ninety six,
that's a that's a that's a gap right there. Yeah

(03:16):
uh so, uh.

Speaker 4 (03:19):
So.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
Uh I love this guy every day who's doing the
obvious on the text. So Rick, where'd you get that sweatshirt? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (03:28):
So?

Speaker 2 (03:28):
But but what I was going to say is that
everybody's job has its unique thing ours. You know, we
have so much content to provide everyday, live archives, you know,
unique to the to this and unique to that, and
you're just looking for stuff. But there's always any time
there's something that happens on the show or something that

(03:50):
and then all of a sudden it kind of starts
finding its way to your family and they don't and
if they did, if they didn't catch it live, they
don't really know what happened. And I had a few
of those and my wife was like, she was like, Hey,
what happened on the show, and now this was yesterday,
so she said today, that would have been yesterday. What

(04:11):
happened on the show today? And I don't know about y'all.
A lot of times when I'm asked that. So when
we finish a show, we're talking about we've done twenty segments. Okay, yeah,
so I don't know what you're always reverencing. I mean
there's twenty different and then inside those twenty segments could
be multiple things, you know, And I said, baby, I

(04:33):
don't know. Well, something's got the family all start up
on the family text and everybody's talking, everybody's laughing, people
what has happened? And then it's funny because of our
line of work, we say things that in most people's
family would be a full blown sit down discussion. It's
so funny because our family also has been in their

(04:54):
role for the same amount of time. Okay, So this
was was so funny, and it was almost like she
was just like, something big has happened, husband, tell me
about it. And I looked up and I said, oh,
I said, everybody's probably talking about Adler and Greg pumping gas.
And Greg took his shirt off. Look, she goes oh okay,
he just walks off, you know what I mean. And
I'm like, well that was that was? Oh yeah that

(05:19):
that was such a beautiful vision yesterday, A beautiful vision
of mentorship. I'll say it again, an older man helping
a younger man. I love the person that said it
was our show's version of second hand lions. Yeah, that
was a great statement. Cold Adler left there with a
respect yesterday, didn't you, buddy.

Speaker 3 (05:39):
Yeah, train up a child and the way he should go.
It was happening yesterday.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
But but there are there other families that a conversation
like that would happen. And she didn't bog down for
a minute. She goes, oh yeah, that probably she moves.
And then there was one thing later. We were going
to get something to eat, because you ever just sometimes
you even have food and you just send into it.
She's like, well, here's what we could do this, this, this, this,
I cooked this, cook that, or I could cook that.

(06:06):
And I went and you gotta be careful that you
got to be married and married a long time and
she's like, none of that. I said, I got to
bounce right. I don't know the fire. I don't mean
to be disrespectful. I mean, if we won't cook it,
that's great, I said, I eat it, I said, I
tell you. And this is the beautiful thing about an
empty nest, I said, I'm for She was coming from
you you never know where your wife is. And and
she came home from some some kind of See this

(06:29):
is nothing. We don't know, baby, What are you doing
over there?

Speaker 4 (06:31):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (06:32):
I had to go. You know, I broke a nail. Okay,
you broke a nail. If I break down, I looked
at it, my nails if I if I hadn't, you know.
But anyways, and I said, well, look, why don't you
just come over here, raise the garage. I'm just gonna
walk out and jump the car. Let's just go get
some deep. She's like, so I have stuff I went
to that. I said, I just I don't want to

(06:52):
sit around and wait on it. Yeah, I'm a little
bit club how about this. I'm about this close to
being angry, you know. And and you know, in Cornish
hands gonna take forever. Oh yeah, you know. And so
I said, let's just go where somewhere we can eat.
Like now, I mean, it's just ordered. They bring it,
and so we get back in the car and it's
funny that only in our families. And she goes, you know,

(07:14):
looking back on what Greg did now, and she goes,
she goes, she goes, that's a little surprising. She goes,
you know, Greg's usually not the shirt off guy. And
I said, well, I said there's been some yeah, some
shirts yeah, right, and she goes, said Greg, and seriously agreed.
It doesn't. This does not turn into some deep conversation. Okay,
we're running the list of multiple things. I literally go

(07:36):
back some No, No, he's done some multiple shirt offs.
She goes, really, his shirts comes off more than I realized,
probably more than you realize. Okay, well, now look did
you get that text I sent you about? And then
we just moved on.

Speaker 6 (07:47):
I'm sitting here looking at my posts on Instagram, right
and I'm going way back. This is way hey back.
But uh, he did walk past at Regent's tradition. Yea,
he walked past CBS forty two. That's our CBS affiliate
doing a live shot with you and Bubba, and he
walks behind that shirtless and that's where it started.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
Then there was the tanning thing.

Speaker 6 (08:11):
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, it was shirtless. That was clearly
for talent feeling. Yeah yeah, that spray was cold.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
Yeah yeah, out of the great state of Tennessee. On
the text line, when my husband and I saw the
show after work last night, it was interesting to watch
all those that saw it live and then watch it
build throughout the day. You know, people that were going
back said. My husband's response to Greg pumping gas was good,
gosh of money. Why they show that. I'd rather see
a mama dog eater pup? Thanks for the last Yeah,

(08:41):
thanks for that. So so anyway, we'll go. Yeah, so
that if you miss that, if you miss yesterday's just
let it go, just go back and and and catch
that and only this show's transition Wednesday Bible Study archive
is also there if you missed it yesterday. It's on
our podcast channel. Talked to Greg about it today for

(09:02):
those of you that were always waiting on his assessment. No,
and he said, you know what, uh, he thinks the
Bible Study finished. Well, thank you Greg. Uh. Look, I
didn't like his tone though, yet a little more world
His information early it was that's its prophecies. That's a
pretty big deal. It's a big deal that Daniel knew
all that it is good.

Speaker 6 (09:25):
Also, you want something you don't know Rick Andy and
Lass who's running the Man Church conference. They reached out
to me solely because of him, and I'm pointing to Greg.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
I want to hear about that because I have something
I want to say about. Very concerned about something. Here
we go, Thanks Greg, We'll be right back.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, Blood casting from the World,
the Rich Birches Show.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
Now. No, no, we're just done with the fake world.
That's done with it. It's up, y'all, come on it,
and we're going to get in the real world here now,
it's where we're gonna stay. Okay. A lot of updates
coming up, uh and we'll we'll run the gamut. Today
we got another unfortunate school shooter in Nashville. We'll talk
about that a little bit today. Sad so uh. But

(10:29):
back to the lighter so a couple of things that
I want to update you on in speedy. I want
to hear this conversation because that's one of the updates
I want to give. First of all, I understand the
frustration of we can't get the last cd uh in
Rick and Bubba history. Hey, y'all run meze and shutter down.

(10:50):
We've been looking for that on the streaming services, and
every time I check on it, somebody's dropped the ball.
So we had we had somebody drop the ball that
delayed it. Checked yesterday because it was delayed again, and
somebody's dropped the ball again. So they're kicking it all
over all over. By the way, if I try to
pick it up, kick it two times. If I don't

(11:10):
check on this, it's never there. So here's what I
was told after fumble number two yesterday, different person fumbled
this time. I was told that it will be there tomorrow,
not tomorrow. Tomorrow, Tomorrow, tomorrow, drop the ball again. Look,

(11:34):
I'll tell you this. I like the term tomorrow better
than the one I usually get about two weeks. So
it's about two weeks. About two weeks now, so they
claim tomorrow. So we'll all check it again tomorrow to
see if it's all in the streaming services. Also coming
out this weekend, episode two on the brand new podcast

(11:54):
uh Rick and Bubba's Greatest Hits uh So if you
if you enjoyed episode one, episode two will be out
this Saturday. So more of the greatest bits and the
thirty one years of the Rick and Bubba Show on
that podcast and it's wherever you get podcasts will be
out again Saturday, so go enjoy some more of those

(12:14):
as we keep adding those episodes. So now let's talk
about what is going to be. Let's talk about what's
going to happen in Birmingham, Alabama tomorrow. This is one
of three man church conferences. The first one is tomorrow,
Lord Willie. It'll be in the Birmingham area. Gardendale First

(12:37):
Baptist Church is our facility. It is a beautiful facility.
The parking is great. You're gonna love it. Sound there
is fantastic, got a great lineup of speakers, and it
all kicks off tomorrow. Doors open at six pm local time. Now,
I wanted to let me tell you this first of
all yesterday and they're gonna go like this. I think

(12:58):
two of them may have gone. Last night. We had
a group of guys that bought early access tickets. I
think they're traveling from Arkansas. Based on their schedules, they've
decided to move their tickets, which we did this for them,
to Atlanta. So that freeze up. There were seven I
think there may be five or six now that freeze

(13:20):
up some early access tickets that have been long sold
out for Birmingham. So if you go to the Manchurch
dot com and you hadn't bought your tickets yet and
you were going to get some before tomorrow, which you
need to because we're not gonna have them available at
the door, there's actually about five or six early access
tickets that just came available like yesterday, So if you

(13:41):
go grab those real quick. Now, what's early access mean.
It's generate mission, but the early access means you'll be
the first group let in the first three hundred people,
so you have access to a group of seats that
are primo seats. Okay, so if you want early access
here at the last minute, about five or six of
those are available until they're gone. So speedy. What was

(14:02):
this conversation with you when we talk about Andy Blanks.
You've heard us talk about him with teen Man Church
with Ironhill Press. That's our publisher, Les Bradford also with
Ironhill Press, our publisher. He runs the store and really
runs the conference.

Speaker 6 (14:16):
So I go to you, well, you know they have
a Man Church conference group text that it is a
lot of the players that are behind the scenes and
those speaking and others, and it cranked up yesterday about
the importance of keeping up with the things that you're

(14:38):
given because of access to certain areas of the event,
and it's very important that you have them. And they
started talking about Greg and his and his all access
pass that he's clearly going to forget, and started asking

(14:59):
me about out does he have it?

Speaker 2 (15:01):
Is he prepared? Does he know where to go?

Speaker 6 (15:04):
And and it just before I knew it, it was
ten minutes gone by, and we're talking about Greg and
is he going to keep up with stuff? And I
told him, I said, I got Greg. We'll meet in
the parking lot like he's a child and we'll walk
in together.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
Did y'all get my past?

Speaker 4 (15:18):
Uh?

Speaker 6 (15:18):
And then conversation broke out about you, and I realized, so,
I'm so I'm meeting about the Burgess boys and about
are you play Are you playing nice fair with what
Andy has asked you to do? Have you slipped up
at all? Are you going to slip up? Please hold
off on promoting what they want you to promote.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
Terrified?

Speaker 6 (15:36):
What's the percentage and over under on that? And and
I realized that y'all create a lot of anxiety on
some folks, I.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
Get Rick, well you know, because he can't keep his
mask yet. Well, but I'm gonna behind you are one
of y'all. Get my past y'all, I asked you. I
asked you to walk it to your truck the other day.
Did you walk it to your truck? What you were
supposed to do? Put in your trust? You said, you
have just messed. Okay, okay, I've got mine hanging on

(16:04):
the rearview mirror. I got David.

Speaker 6 (16:06):
They even sent a site map out on entrances and
where to go.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
Did you see it? Did you see that? What would
I see? It's y you are?

Speaker 7 (16:18):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (16:18):
You are yes? Not in it? I see your name
on it. I don't think I am. That must be
another They sent you a map and where we're supposed
to enter it.

Speaker 6 (16:25):
And he's he's the same way about like a topic
we'll have and I'll go, hey, you y'all get it?

Speaker 2 (16:30):
Says I need to get my prescription refilled. No, that's
a different that's not that. I'll send him something. I'm like, hey,
do you watch that video when he goes, what are
you talking about?

Speaker 1 (16:38):
That?

Speaker 2 (16:38):
Miss must have missed that? And then what did you
send it on? I'm like, are you serious? Unlike y'all,
I don't stare on my phone all day. Yeah, but
that's what we're doing. Yes, Hey, Sherry, can I say
something Cherry because it's you are I get home, I
put that phone? I know. Let me just say this, Sherry.
Let me say this Sherry. Because Sherry pride herself, she'll
say that all the time. I said, Hey, I love that,

(17:00):
And it really sounds like you know that you're not
bothered by your phone all that, And that's a great
thing to say, except you go so far that when
we do need you to see things and we do
need to communicate with you, we can't. So there is enough.
You're not that Sherry's worse than you that I don't know. Yeah,
gregor now I will say, I feel that wall go up.
I do feel that wall go up a lot of times.
Y'all send some some interesting stuff about interesting. I'm already

(17:22):
down a minute. I am talking about I forget. I
am talking about things like the map and where you're
supposed to I'm not on that. There is no test.

Speaker 3 (17:28):
I saw you.

Speaker 2 (17:29):
I saw you. I'm looking at When did they send it?
What day? Yesterday? Nope? Okay, I'm gonna I'm gonna send you.
I'm gonna send you the map. I mean, I think
I can't time doing that. Hey, I can get in
the building. Let's see, that's not big building. Great, I
can where you're gonna go. Are you gonna walk through
the front door? Yeah? Well, Greg, that's not where you're
supposed to be. You got to pass. I can go

(17:51):
anywhere I want. I guess you can. Okay, that's a
good point. I mean, like they go, I'm sorry, you
haven't passed. You've got to go around back. Yeah. Well,
I will say this on a on a bit of
a serious note, I'm gonna get a text. Hey, hey,
where are y'all? That is a big plays a lot
of interests, a lot of interests, a bit of a
bit of a serious note. Just know that because unfortunate,
because people don't know how to act, Because people don't

(18:11):
know how to act, security is going to be a
lot more tight than it's been in the past, Greg,
really really really tight. So understand that. Uh and so
uh that's kind of the point they were making the text.

Speaker 6 (18:26):
Yeah, yeah, guys, understand if you don't have this stuff,
you're not gonna be able to get where you need.

Speaker 8 (18:31):
To be, right, Greg, I got it. I think I
got mine right. It's right next to my Henry the
horse mask.

Speaker 2 (18:40):
That's it. Bottom of the hour.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Sure he played a
little ball, Rick.

Speaker 4 (19:00):
We're just.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
Okay, all right, So it is another another day. Thanks
for being with us today on another Rick Burgess show.
The games all here, speedy, Greg and Adler. Some of
you are listening right now on those wonderful by Raycon
dot Com earbuds testing one two. We got you wall

(19:27):
to wall and tree top talk. All right, so right
now you can do a little bit better. Don't light
my earbuds falling out? Well, you need to worry about that.
These are these are snug custom Geil tips. There's so
much more comfortable. They look so much cooler than the other's.
Got some really vibrant colors. I think you'll dig. And

(19:49):
then of course we've got the multipoint connectivity. Now you
can you can do two devices at once. Uh, the
active noise cancelations so you can just focus on what
you're listening to. UH, and and these things sometimes can
be difficult to find, you know, an accessible price point.
You're like, ah, earbudge are great, but what any world
look at the prices buy raycon dot com slash big Vox.

(20:14):
How about this about half the price of the other
battling brands. And there's so many things about them that
even make them better, and I mentioned some of those
right now. We will now get you more easy, easy
return policy, no questions ask as part of their thirty
day happiness guarantee. You don't love them, they'll take them back,
but you're gonna love them. Why don't you go right now,

(20:35):
let's get another fifteen percent off site wide by going
to buy raycon dot com slash big Vox, buy raycon
dot com slash big Vox, or you can go to
Rick Burgess show dot com under the sponsors and look,
I'm gonna go ahead and say this on behalf of
all of us before you get your earbudgs from buy
raycon dot com slash big Box. You're welcome. Okay. So

(20:58):
another concern this week this weekend about the conference going
on in our home city. See this one's easy because
you know, we all just you know, Gregill had to
come to town and I guess stay over at Mama's
or whatever. But you know it's the conference will be
Friday night, doors open at six, and then we'll be
done Friday night. Everybody heads back to wherever your hotel
or wherever, and then we come back and then we

(21:20):
have a morning sessions and we're going to be done somewhere,
probably a little earlier than lunch, but we try to look,
we try to stay on time. We do conferences, okay,
especially with with men's conferences, that we're not here to
piddle around. Let's let's get to it. So so anyway,
another concern I have is this late edition of Gary, Hey,
I won't come to the meeting now and yeah, well

(21:42):
now we got to get him a pass, and we're
working on because he gave me a lot of heads
up on that. He told me this yesterday. So there,
here's my Here, here's where I'm a little bit concerned.
And I'm going to say to Speedy, I'm sorry, okay,
because ultimately, because of everything I've got to do at
the conference, this is gonna fall on you.

Speaker 6 (22:01):
You're giving me Greg Angary, aren't you bingo? Oh boy, goy?
And what I'm He's fine?

Speaker 2 (22:07):
Yeah, well yeah, Adler will be you know if if
at some point It's like you won't even know where
Adler came from. They'll be standing right next to you. Yeah.
But these these two they feed off each other, you know.
And what I'm worried about is, see, you guys are
gonna be in the lobby. We're gonna have a table there.
We got some cool pictures and stuff that y'all can
sign for the for the for the, for the people.

Speaker 8 (22:29):
Really, I can only take care of myself speedy. You're
more responsible. That's why you get more people to take
care of.

Speaker 2 (22:35):
Good point. Adler's got all. He's all he can handle take. Yeah,
he Adler is is filling up his own plate.

Speaker 4 (22:43):
Yea.

Speaker 2 (22:44):
But what's gonna happen is they're gonna they're gonna lose
all concepts that they're anywhere other than just hanging out
and and here I know exactly what's gonna happen. Okay,
what you would prefer, and by the way, can I
say this on behalf of the company, it's what I
would prefer, okay, is that y'all actually stay around the
table where the big logo is so people can actually

(23:06):
come over give give you some feedback. Y'all sign a
picture for him if they won't. If not, that's fine.
You're looking at me, but seeing him, okay, And what's
gonna happen is I'm if, I if, I whenever, I'm
gonna be coming out there when I can. By the way,
I've got a little more do than I thought. But
I'm when, I'm gonna come out there when I can,
and definitely at the end. But I'm gonna see you

(23:30):
over by the table, and imost see some men hanging
around you, and I will see you talking to them
about the show and about stuff. And I'm gonna not
see Greg Argary and Adamer's gonna have a camera or
something around, and i gonna see them standing over Gary.
Gary's gonna have his hands in his pocket, slashing around
his keys, and they're gonna be standing off somewhere way
away from the table, and they're gonna be talking about turkeys,

(23:50):
turkey calls and something. Yeah, And so it's come up.
You're you keeping them around that table where everybody could
come to a central place. I'm just sorry. I'll do
all I can, and Adler is no use to you,
So I need a Greg leash. Yeah, I'll be right
there on you hip.

Speaker 4 (24:08):
I got it.

Speaker 8 (24:10):
Let's get one of those little air tag watches that
little kids wear, you know, and you can like page
him and track him.

Speaker 2 (24:16):
All I need is one of y'all to get my
pass for right, and then also you have me there,
because that's exactly. Yeah, we've done this enough, I've done
and then there's gonna be the somebody is gonna drive.
We got people driving from Maryland. Guys. Okay, somebody's gonna
drive from Maryland and they're gonna be all excited about

(24:37):
this thing. I mean, it's a big trip to them.
My goodness. They've been planning it probably for months, unlike
Gary and so, and then they're gonna get pranked by Gary.

Speaker 9 (24:45):
Go over.

Speaker 2 (24:46):
Gary's gonna have some cooler that he's gonna say, go
over and get your get your soft drink if you
want one. They're going up. The Snake's gonna jump on
on fake noise maker and you know he's gonna have
that thing where you know, he's gonna tell you to
look in this envelope it's gonna vibrate or something in it. Yeah,
what was that thing he did to us at camp house?

(25:06):
He said it was a squealing pig of some kind
and he focused on me. I think y'all were in
on it. Yeah, No, No, the way y'all sat there,
y'all were in on it. Y'all lie about it makes
it worse and making God sad. Now, I wouldn't in
on it.

Speaker 6 (25:18):
I mean no, you knew something up because because he
was he was blining, right, I.

Speaker 2 (25:23):
Mean, it wasn't my ideal, I'll say that.

Speaker 6 (25:25):
And and I think y'all were in on it now
because that y'all didn't even move.

Speaker 2 (25:29):
I was just sitting there and I didn't know about it. Well,
and you know this is this is this is something.
This is something to bring up if you really think
about it. So when when we when we and this
is something to discuss. So when we shut down you
know Rick and Bubb Incorporated at the end of thirty
one years or it's still you know, shutting down, and

(25:50):
we shut down the show and we started something new. Okay,
the Gunners will treat you. Really we could we could
say I know, I know we entered into it, but
I mean those were a personal contract. Point. Yeah, that's
what I want to Is that a personal contract that
stays with us?

Speaker 9 (26:09):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (26:09):
Is it something that we now say it's no longer
in play. It wasn't made on the show. It was
made because the incidents were not on the show. Well
that's true, right, Well later there were some sorry speed,
but yeah, now they broke it that time.

Speaker 6 (26:27):
The reasons why I think that needs to kind of
and sometimes contracts they got to you know, you have
to maybe look at them and update them. Okay, And
I've always noticed what the gunners will treat it all
depends on who breaks the treaty, absolutely and if they're punished.
And and I'm looking over at you some though you
seem to get a pass on breaking there was there.

Speaker 2 (26:50):
Was a player in it because I was just following instructions.
There was there was an unequal application of the Gunners
will try. It was not it was not implemented and
fulfilled the same every time. No, so it already had
some some trouble and it's legal standing.

Speaker 6 (27:08):
We either need to update it or rename it something
about the prank at the farm or something the Dawson treaty,
or rename it or or upgrade or at update the
gun All y'allre.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
Doing is if we agree and everybody sticks to it,
it just means Gary is the only one. He has
free range. He'll tell you he will not. He's hey,
I just not have a leg. Yeah, which I thought
that was a weird. That was a weird.

Speaker 4 (27:35):
Weird.

Speaker 2 (27:36):
Yeah, but I think for the sake of this show,
we should suspend it and say it's over. I think
we need I think I think we need pranks.

Speaker 6 (27:50):
But the reason why we started that because I mean,
it started getting reasonable to upgrade.

Speaker 2 (27:56):
Yeah, what you're right, say this, do pranks, but think
them out and going now, worst case scenario, you know,
just good fun. Do you don't y'all think we're old
enough that we can have some level headed thinking on.

Speaker 6 (28:11):
We just had somebody pumping gash yesterday.

Speaker 2 (28:16):
Yeah, yeah, what he did there was there was a
time he'd have been in his underwear. So we have
grown little. Yes, gross, I'm sorry that was me, but
that was by accident.

Speaker 6 (28:25):
Right, Well, I'm fine as long as there's not bodily harm,
you know, sure, cars being damaged, property.

Speaker 8 (28:34):
Ice cream on them, shirts getting icing and ice cream
on them.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
Yeah. Did you hear that? Ah? That that that's I
thought that's what we were going back to.

Speaker 6 (28:42):
Yeah, y'all remember when y'all put something on the receiver
of my phone in the office.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
I don't remember it had me go call and got
something all up in my ear. Remember, See that's harmless laughing.
See I noticed that the Gungsville Treaty was active unless
it was on me. How about somebody on text? How
about no guns? Yeah, that's I agree with that. No,
y Remember the time I put that stink stuff in
your office? Yeah, and I thought it wasn't strong, so

(29:07):
I kept pumping and then all of a sudden we
didn't open all the doors and two days Yeah, see
we were violating out the time. I just realized that.
And y'all did it again with Gary down at the farm.
Y'all knew that. Y'all knew that. I didn't know. Y'all
knew it. Didn't know y'all knew it. I didn't know that.

Speaker 1 (29:28):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, still denying any involvement
in the food fights of nineteen seventy nine.

Speaker 2 (29:48):
Rick Burgess, I was clearly framed on that one. Clearly,
all right. So people making suggestions, Okay, they're saying, maybe
not a full rain removal of the gunners Will treaty,
but maybe going back and restructuring it, drawing some lines,
no guns, no ambulances. No, well some of you are ambulance. Yeah,

(30:17):
so no ambulance. No ambulance. Hey, no ambulances. I know,
reading it as you go. But anyways, maybe maybe we
put some but again, you know, I think you're just
asking for you got to be careful not to be
too legalistic with it.

Speaker 3 (30:33):
No pies, I'm saying, no pis.

Speaker 2 (30:36):
Now, we're just now that comes now, not just pick
our favorite. Before we know it, we find ourselves in Leviticus. Okay,
we don't want that. Look nothing, just ridiculously hazardous. Okay,
Greg kind now, picture picture lawyer trying to walk that out.

Speaker 6 (30:53):
But it wasn't the original prank that started it, even
though that it was the I'm.

Speaker 2 (30:58):
A one up. Yeah, I'm a one up, and then
I'm gonna one up you and I'm gonna one up you.

Speaker 6 (31:03):
And before you knew it, we all got yeah silly,
you were afraid to even show up.

Speaker 2 (31:08):
Yeah, I'm not going in today. Somebody's gonna do.

Speaker 6 (31:10):
Something right, And so the treaty just kind of everybody relaxed.
You know, I think there's like a count on Greg
not to prank me.

Speaker 2 (31:19):
I don't like being I don't like being burdened about, like, hey,
am I to have a little fun? Oh wait a minute,
every I don't think I bought lea the treaty. Yeah,
that's how we talk, that's the cause, that's the standard voice. Different.
But I just fun. I say. Somebody just said, if
y'all drop this treaty, you talk about releasing the crack
and the dead animals. You say, how, I keep.

Speaker 3 (31:43):
Sadding, I think that's a fair rule.

Speaker 2 (31:46):
So you went, do you how many good pranks are
tied to a dead animal? I'm sorry of them? Okay,
I don't like this. Here I am putting a dead
possible in your back seat, waiting until you to notice it.
And now so I realized, Wait a minute, that's not
a lot on the treaty.

Speaker 3 (31:59):
So you're dead pausum in my back seat?

Speaker 2 (32:02):
Right? No, not where your children sit? Back there, where
you put that new refrigerators like your Holland stuff. Yeah,
back there, Well, you don't have any room for your
family where this is going? Back there where you catch
your van pretty much in half? Right, No, daddy, I
like to play back there your can anymore? See, we
don't have room in our big van anymore. Yeah, we

(32:24):
look at that scene right now. I got a refrigerator.

Speaker 3 (32:26):
Ruby loves to see you want a soft drink?

Speaker 2 (32:30):
By the way, Beard, if you have if you haven't
seen episode two of Tails from the camp House, it's
there now and the van van has the van has
a hard time.

Speaker 6 (32:40):
I'm gonna get on to brody on this one. Okay,
all right, So y'all claimed I had a girly truck.

Speaker 2 (32:46):
I didn't.

Speaker 3 (32:47):
I did.

Speaker 6 (32:49):
And what y'all left out of the video is that
Adler was putting the jumper cables at the wrong spot
of his van.

Speaker 2 (32:57):
And then on the truck, you weren't.

Speaker 6 (32:59):
You weren't even the batteries underneath your seat or something,
and you were putting it to You were just putting
it in.

Speaker 2 (33:04):
Your engine somewhere.

Speaker 6 (33:06):
And so when y'all were using my truck, it wasn't
getting a connection. You're trust have it, your truck didn't
have it. And so then y'all moved Taylor's around after
I leave, it.

Speaker 2 (33:16):
Was, oh, yeah, Wris Speedy had a girl trip couldn't handle.
And and that's not it. You just actually put it,
You connected it to the battery.

Speaker 3 (33:24):
You were going You don't know you don't know.

Speaker 2 (33:28):
I will now quote the blind man from the Book
of Acts. All I know is I was blind and
now I see. And all I know is your truck
didn't jump the van off Taylor's did. That's all I know.

Speaker 3 (33:43):
A big deal.

Speaker 2 (33:44):
The jumper cables have to connect to something. Who brought
them ones in jumper cable, I think, But he said
he got them out of your house. Hey, I got time.
I got it out of storage. But we didn't want
Speedy to leave his and they were nice and new,
but they went. Let me take what I wanted for
Speedy to leave his jropper cables and take his truck. Yeah,

(34:05):
so somebody somebody walks up with some that we found
land in the yard. Right, Evidently you know, we don't
tempt me to take his cables. Got Yeah, that was
you know what I love about that is your point.
When Gary told me where he was, I'm like, that
means I threw him away. Yeah, he dug along with
that grill he keeps trying to cook on that you've
thrown away. We caught something with that. Yeah, I don't

(34:30):
know if y'all saw it. Well, he started to grill
on it. The stuff that was on that grill. Oh wow,
it was pretty funny. And that explains that explained sunday.
Uh so uh anyway, that's my only critique. Brody, did
it amazing.

Speaker 6 (34:46):
You're talking about you call it un but left that
one part out because I remember the discussion.

Speaker 2 (34:52):
Gary went over the way it didn't even connected tonight, right,
and he goes, where's the battery, right, and and alert said.

Speaker 10 (35:00):
It's over there, sir.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
And then and then they is over there, sir. And
then they walk over underneath the seat and there's the battery,
and Gary says, but there it is, sir. And and
then now but your hook up was Gary, I love you,
you're my daddy. Right, Yeah, I heard.

Speaker 3 (35:21):
That there's leads underneath the hook.

Speaker 2 (35:24):
Well you are connected to one.

Speaker 3 (35:26):
Just your your truck wasn't getting it done. It's fine,
it looks good.

Speaker 2 (35:29):
It's a good looking.

Speaker 6 (35:30):
So scratched, right, So I'm seeing a lot of those
because I'm moving so much.

Speaker 2 (35:36):
Yeah, just scratches everywhere. What happened here? Just my wife?
What happened to this? It's Sherry right there. Oh by
the way, Uh, we do need to get into this.
So you you got an active day and hey, hey, Look,
what a blessing? What what a blessing to rubber right there?

Speaker 4 (35:54):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (35:54):
Yeah, what a blessing. But yeah, and some of you,
if you want to laugh, this will tell you everything
you need to know about Egg's daughter. Who is She's
a character everybody. Some of your comments saying love the
mug that you had, Rick that you were drinking coffee
ont of that is a gift from my niece, Greg's
daughter and it's one of my favorite gifts and it

(36:16):
is prominent in episode. It's a fantastic good yea. So
we'll talk about Speedy's got an active day and we've look,
we've all been there. Okay, raise your hand out there.
If you got a family, get your hands up, Come on,
get your hands ut. Yeah. And so when you have

(36:36):
a when you have a lot of errands and a
lot you got a job you're trying to get done.
There's the job is trying to get done, and you
are sent solo. And then there's a lot that has
to be done and either the family or just your
wife is going to be part of it. And and
I'll use this term helping you so and it tends

(37:00):
one of them tends to run a little smoother and
not very complicated, and then one seems to be just
a little more complicated because because you know, we're willing
to just say whatever it tastes to get this done.
We will just do, you know. And and there's there's
other things that start getting added on, what other people
get involved. I mean that that's just uh, that's just

(37:22):
that's just part of it. I mean, that's just part
of it. So it's a lot to do. Yeah, so
we'll we'll we'll come back and talk about that. We
also have some some updates from around the world. Still
got stuff going on with with Trump's administration getting settled in.
He did a one on one with our friend Sean Hannity.
We'll talk about that coming up on the program today.
More fires in California that we'll we'll touch on that. Uh,

(37:45):
so that's still to come today. And then you know,
we we've got more things that you'll bring up by
calling us at eight eight eight six Big Box. So
we'll we'll take a break, we'll come back, we'll talk
about Speedy's day a little bit, and then we'll get
into these other stories. Also want to remind you, uh,
if you're in Andalusia, you got us on one O
seven seven. You know, we do have the conference in

(38:05):
Birmingham Friday and half the day Saturday, but Saturday night
a Man Church, James Span is coming to Andalusia Saturday
night to represent Man Church at south Side Baptist Church.
So if you want to be there to hear James
Span and plug into the men's discipleship strategy from the
Man Church being Andalusia Saturday night.

Speaker 1 (38:28):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

help a kid that's on the brink of losing everything.
You know how sometimes you look and you just see

(39:15):
this kid and you're like, I know that kid has potential.
I know the kids had a tough upbringing or whatever.
Life's thrown some curves at this kid. Everybody's given up
on him. They think that he just hit the rest
of his life is gonna be in and out of jail.
I don't think that. I think I can help him.
And you're gonna watch this incredible moving story of a

(39:36):
teacher that's just not willing to give up on a
kid that everybody else, including the kid himself, has given
up on. It's a great movie. You're gonna love it.
So go to angel dot com if you like to
go ahead and be ready to see it. Angel dot

Speaker 1 (40:07):

Speaker 2 (40:48):
He the mom of thedeed worst where we go? So
the gang all here. As you heard, We've recapped a
lot of things you need to know. Tells from the
camp House. Episode two of the Business Summits is now
available on the Rick and Bubba YouTube channel. Yesterday's Bible

(41:09):
study archive now available on the YouTube channel and the
podcast channel. And run me a Zee and Shut Her Down,
the last CD in Rick and Bubba history, supposedly will
now be on the streaming services tomorrow. We've heard that before,
but that's the update on my gray we don't get

(41:35):
booed again. So and also episode two this weekend on
the brand new podcast, Rick and Bubba's Greatest Hits from
the thirty one years of the Rick and Bubba Show.
That brand new podcast, episode two this Saturday, wherever you
get podcasts. So Speedy is going to be. He's got

(41:57):
an active day and we're hearing him. You know, you
come to work, you're talking to the guys and all
the people you work with about your day. Now, I
want to start off Speedy because I think this is
crucial is to once again say thank you on behalf
of the entire show. The team here to Speedy's wife Terry.
Once again, we walk into the office and this time

(42:20):
we see pigs in a blanket and some sort of muffin.

Speaker 6 (42:25):
Yeah, she got blueberry muffins as well as chocolate chip muffins.

Speaker 2 (42:30):
Thank you, missus Wilburn. Yes, yeah, and so I will
say I will say this. My game plan did work
yesterday thanks to the tune in app. The tune in
app is a streaming app to catch the show live,
but when the live show goes off, it just replays
during the week all the shows of the week. And

(42:52):
apparently my wife has been listening via that. Not sure why,
but she says that now when she gets in her car,
she turns a car on, there's the show, and so
it's not good for you. Yeah, I'm not sure how
you know. I never I want to take every listener
or viewer we can get, and so she said, and

(43:13):
she turned it up, and about the time she turned
it up, it was the archive of us talking about
your wife, Terry sending the breakfast casserole. And then she
heard me with me in the car say to what
I'm gonna do I'm gonna use this to be sure
the other wives hear that, maybe they may get in line.
And she just looked over and she goes really, And

(43:34):
I said, well, I mean, if y'all want to let
Terry carry the load of feeding the guys, I guess
I guess you could. So well.

Speaker 6 (43:41):
I did bring home the empty little tupperware deal of
the protein balls, and I announced it out. You know
how you just talk real loud, heym putting this in
the sink and washing it up. It's empty, brought it home,
brought it home. We ate all of them, but it's
some of them.

Speaker 2 (43:58):
It's home now. I just want to let you know
I brought home sure so oh you didn't even make No,
you don't make you make any more of those. No,
but it's just empty.

Speaker 5 (44:07):
Gone.

Speaker 2 (44:08):
Teres are gone. Yeah, yeah, Terry, I want to say
thank you for breakfast again for the guys. Not necessary,
you do. You do not have to do that, right,
But even though Speedy says you do. Yeah, it's great.

Speaker 6 (44:19):
That waking up sometimes because I might beat her to sleep,
maybe by thirty minutes to forty five minutes, and I
think I know when I wake up. Okay, this is
what this is what I got all my stuff in order.
But the last couple of mornings I woke up to
little sticky notes with a little heart on it. It says
in the fridge you have this so and I'm not Wow,

(44:39):
I said, what a surprise, What a way to start
the day.

Speaker 2 (44:41):
Yeah, this is actually the broad a little thing. Yesterday,
same thing had notes. Yeah, y'all get right? Yeah yeah, yeah,
really I like for one to say, come back to
bit o joking. It's just a joke.

Speaker 3 (44:55):
Are you getting notes?

Speaker 2 (44:56):
Yeah? I got you got some cottage cheese, that little
fruit thing all at your family little.

Speaker 3 (45:03):
Thank you for sharing.

Speaker 2 (45:04):
You know, cottage cheese in there. You're gonna get on me?
What Yeah, so you eat it for breakfast. That's just
the healthy s night in the middle of the day. Okay, change,
So well, I just didn't expect you to drop cottage
cheese in there. I'm sorry I didn't. Didn't it coming?
You keep it a great source of protein. So Speedy,

(45:34):
you're the one that weird series. Okay, he's always back
over here, all right, so Speedy, Hopefully that should be
a nice little tea up for you. Yeah. Now, now
I'll be listening watching. Yeah, so y'all got it, you
got a big day.

Speaker 6 (45:46):
Well, look, we all you don't have to get a
great team. You are a great team. Be made how
many years a lot? So yeah, twenty five coming up
here in a couple of months.

Speaker 2 (45:59):
But make a note.

Speaker 6 (46:01):
Yeah, but you know, sometimes you go, hey, I got this.
I'm gonna go run and do something because you just
want to get it done. And today is one of
those days when moving my aunt out of her apartments,
are having to go through all that, right, and uh
so much, so much, and and we have the next

(46:22):
couple of days Man Church Friday Saturday morning, the ue
H first Pitch banquet Saturday evening. But we have to
be out of the apartment complex at the end of
the month within JC plays.

Speaker 2 (46:36):
They open up down at Saint Augustine or something.

Speaker 6 (46:38):
And so it's like my days are they're quickly leaving me,
you know, And so I've got to get things done.
And so today is crucial. In about three to four hours,
we got to get a lot done.

Speaker 2 (46:49):
You've seen the calendar, what day this is? Yes, and.

Speaker 6 (46:54):
So yeah, yeah, and so today is one of those
days where things have got to get it to where
they need to be, and so Terry announced yesterday, hey,
I'm in I'm going with you.

Speaker 2 (47:06):
And I went and I said, well, you don't.

Speaker 6 (47:09):
Have to do that. You don't have to go, and
I mean I would love for you too. Well, yeah,
I need to. I'm gonna go with you. Plus I'm
gonna keep you awake on the way home.

Speaker 2 (47:17):
She's just being sweetly.

Speaker 6 (47:19):
And uh, and I said, well, look I got and
I think I went too far. I said, now, look,
but we we're not breaking. I mean, you got to
understand like when I go, I mean I'm talking about
like I'm not really I might snack for lunch. And
I said, I'm not even gonna think about eat until
I like maybe on the way home. I mean like
we got to knock stuff out. And she said she
just sat there and she said okay, and she said, well,

(47:42):
do you want to come home? And I'm like, well,
that's thirty minutes you know in my mind, and there's
a parking ride north of town. But then you let
you then on the back end you almost forget the
cars there if you're gonna have yeah, it's on the
back end. I know it'd be better if I just
go home for on the front end and get her.
So that's what we're doing. But I said, and I

(48:02):
before I started talking, now, look, if you're gonna want
to eat, we got packed lunches and make it a picnic.
And I said, because I mean, you know, I don't
want you to melt away, but we don't have time
to break and go run and get lunch and come back.

Speaker 2 (48:14):
That's a forty five minutes. You're gonna make some send.

Speaker 6 (48:19):
Before before I got off in pizza, yeah, before I got.

Speaker 2 (48:24):
Off in it.

Speaker 6 (48:24):
Uh, I was talking too much, and she was just
kind of staring at me. Well, if I'm going to
be in the way, I don't.

Speaker 2 (48:30):
I went there, you did it and I said, no,
you're not going to be in the way. I would
love for you to go, honey. I said, I'll tell
you what.

Speaker 6 (48:36):
I we got some post show stuff and I'm gonna
leave as quickly as I can. And and uh, you
just have that lunch pack and we'll be gone.

Speaker 2 (48:43):
You know it's gonna be called you.

Speaker 6 (48:46):
Yeah, but it's almost like maybe make if you want
a sandwich, you know, we'll throw it in something and
a little backpack cooler and.

Speaker 2 (48:52):
We're going gotta pack. We got a pack and lunch stopping.
You don't stand stop.

Speaker 3 (48:58):
No, they don't have restaurants where you're.

Speaker 2 (48:59):
Going too much. It's too much, too much time. If
I go get something to eat, that's the recommendment.

Speaker 6 (49:05):
I could be moving. And it's not big stuff. It's
not moving service stuff. It's just little beaty things that
need to go up to cars, storage and stuff. So
he got rain coming Sunday up there, and so it's
just there's a lot going on, and we need out
that apartment, you know. And and I think, speaking of

(49:26):
that apartment complex, I know my dad heard them wrong.
But they told my dad that aunt Lee won't get
her security deposit back because of the inconvenience of her and.

Speaker 2 (49:40):
I'm and Dad said, do what what?

Speaker 6 (49:44):
And uh and and so then he told me. So
then I went to the apartment complex and and dropped
off a death certificate to you know, let him know
when we were gonna get out and everything. And I said,
and I'd like to schedule a meeting with your manager,
because no, my dad heard her wrong when she said
that we wouldn't get the security posit back because of

(50:07):
the inconvenience. So her passing away and you know, and
and everything that was an inconvenience to y'all and that,
and she just stared at me and I said, so,
I do want to come back for that because I
want to see that in the lease.

Speaker 2 (50:21):
Where does it say that thought for damages? Yeah? Yeah,
well we can't get you know. She did die, Yeah,
she did die.

Speaker 3 (50:30):
It was quite the hassle.

Speaker 2 (50:32):
Yeah, yeah, let me see where that line is. And
she did. I said, so I got that too, that
today yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah Gray, he left a
message with Morgan, and Morgan he said, no, you won't
call me back because I'm just a nobody. I know
my dad heard her wrong. Yeah, that couldn't have been right.
That's one of those you don't mean that. Yeah, And
if I'm hungry and I go in there.

Speaker 1 (50:53):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the man who taught
the world to say, couldn't feel less. Rick Burdships, We're

(51:19):
off and running.

Speaker 2 (51:20):
Thanks for being with us today, so many of gus
a man. As we work our way back, a couple
of things we do want update you own that are
not so good. Apparently we've had another school shooter in Nashville,
and horrible story, all too familiar, and it seems to

(51:42):
have involved the person was targeting targeting. It looks like
one individual sadly and was unfortunately successful in taking her life.
He's seventeen years old. They do now know who it
is because he turned the gun on himself. So looking

(52:04):
at all the horror of this, and as I said,
it's all too familiar to us. Now you're seventeen years old.
You wrote a forty seven page manifesto that was discovered
back in November, did you say, speaking November eighteenth? Yeah,
and a horrible, horrible note on this because in the

(52:27):
story it says later was deemed a hoax. Well apparently
not a hoax, just delayed. So you're seventeen years old
and you're so troubled that you're writing a forty seven
page manifesto. I don't remember writing a forty seven page
anything when I was seventeen years old, or you know,

(52:52):
even having a desire to. And I didn't know what
manifesto meant. I didn't really either. I know, we're going
to get through all the stuff of where did the
gun come from? And how did he get the gun?
And you said, you have his name, what's his name?
Solomon something? Let's see what did it? Solomon Henderson? And

(53:13):
you're right.

Speaker 6 (53:14):
He had a forty seven page manifesto laying out the school,
photos of the weapons that he wanted to use, and
thoughts of why he wanted to commit the shooting. And
on Wednesday, around eleven o'clock, he got off the bus
and went into the school and they went into the

(53:34):
bathroom where they're saying he might have retrieved the.

Speaker 2 (53:37):
Weapon, but they're not sure. I don't know where you
came out.

Speaker 6 (53:41):
Unfortunately, released several rounds, killing one young lady and injuring
some others before turning the gun on himself. And he
tried to live stream the shooting.

Speaker 2 (53:54):
Yeah, I understand. They say it was partially live stream,
so he was somewhat successful with that. But you know, guys,
we got to do something. And I know some of
you go here goes here, goes the same and it
is the same commentary, And I apologize for that. I
don't mean to be labor the point, but I think

(54:14):
sometimes repetition helps us learn. We have got to be willing,
and I think maybe we're getting there. We've got to
be willing to have the conversation on what what are
we doing as a people, and as a society that
keeps perpetuating this kind of wickedness. You know, it's it's

(54:35):
I'm not going to do the old well, you know,
I don't blame the weapons, so you don't have to.
I agree with you. But why why is this person
and so many people like them? What? What are we
doing that keeps producing these kind of people? And as
we have said, and I have said, until we're willing
to have that conversation, nothing's going to change. I mean,

(54:59):
I'm sure that place was very secure, as secure as
it can be, but it's of no help to the
family that now either has a child that is injured
by gunfire or the worst case, the one who has
a child that was killed. And I think that let's
just all keep doing what we're doing and embracing the

(55:20):
things we embrace and and live the way we live,
and just hope we can be secure enough that when
we keep reducing evil, dark people, we'll just find some
way to protect ourselves from it. That's a bad plan, yeah,
it is.

Speaker 6 (55:32):
And reading a little bit more into some of the
online posts that that investigators are trying to make sure
it's him or whatever, he was very disgusted with himself
and the fact that he was black, and that's just
what his writings say, right, Well, obviously he had issues
and he That's what I was going to say, is

(55:54):
that he goes on to describe how how miserable he was,
and then went on to say a few other things
that I'm not going to mention. But it's weird because
then he said, I, you know, I had to get
a go pro and and try to explain to my
parents why I was doing that. And that just makes
me wonder what kind of home life he had that

(56:15):
nobody saw these things.

Speaker 2 (56:17):
And I don't know what his home life was.

Speaker 6 (56:19):
I have no idea, but nobody picked up on this
that he was he was acting this way?

Speaker 2 (56:24):
Am I hearing right? That this manifesto you're referring to,
it didn't just now come out. No, it was in
November eighteenth. I mean it was found then.

Speaker 6 (56:32):
Yeah, the same day there was a prank, a prank, correct,
and then what happened Wednesday happened.

Speaker 2 (56:39):
But if you write things like that, even when it
was deemed a prank, I believe that if it was
God forbid, you know, one of your kids, you would
walk into the bedroom, shut the door and say, hey,
you see the stuff our kid was writing. Oh, it
was just a prank. No, No, I don't care whether
it's a prank or not. Why is our kid writing that?

Speaker 4 (56:57):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (56:58):
I mean you know it's he obviously to even do
it in a prank? Is we right? And in twenty
seven pages? And it needs to be addressed. And now
now I want to be perfectly clear, I'm not in
the camp of every time somebody's crazy kid does something,
it's always the parent's fault. I'm not in that camp. However,

(57:20):
I'm also saying I'm still saying it's fair to ask
the question that Speedy's asking, and we're all asking, is
did you not notice that your kid was becoming dangerous
to himself and other people? It seems acting it seems
it seems like it seems like that that I mean,
this is not a minor. Hey, I'm having a tough

(57:40):
time adjusting a teenage life. Okay, everybody does.

Speaker 6 (57:45):
It's some of the writings here too, that supposedly we're him.
Investigators are trying to verify. But the difference between good
and bad criminals depends on how well they're dressed. It
depends on what weapon they use. It depends on how
they carry it out, depends on their height, their bone structure.
Even the worst of criminal acts are forgiven if you
simply look good. And it goes on. Just in my

(58:08):
personal life, I can't remember a single instance where I
was being bullied. Yes he said I was bullied in
the culture sense, which everyone is bullied in. It's just
very disturbed individual.

Speaker 2 (58:22):
But that goes back to this everything that he's talking
about in the manifesto. You can hear that that was
stuff that's been probably all over social media, all these videos,
tickt out whatever. But you also hear some things and
then in there that are just life that everybody deals with.
That's not the issue. The issue is why do we

(58:43):
have so many young people that can't cope with it anymore?

Speaker 1 (58:46):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. This is what Trump
had in mind when he sought to make America great again.

(59:08):
The Rick budget Show.

Speaker 2 (59:11):
Yeah we're back, thanks for being with us today. Let's
talk a little bit about Are you looking at your
medicine cabinet right now? How many stuff you got in there?

Speaker 7 (59:20):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (59:21):
Yeah, a little underwhelming? Are these things even?

Speaker 5 (59:25):
You know?

Speaker 2 (59:26):
And they're helping you to sleep better? Helping you at all.
Not really. Yeah, well, why don't you try something that
maybe would be better for you and also actually worked.
That's the word we're getting from those of you that
have already gone to Cbdistillery dot com. Cbdistillery dot com

you go to cbdistiller read dot com and use our code. Also,
there's a link there at Rick Burgess Show dot com
under the sponsors that will also help you. So some

(01:00:31):
people saying different things, and I agree. I agree this
what someone's talking about, and it's one of things I've
noticed about kids today, you know, not being able to
cope even with the things that we all faced as
human beings in the falling creation, the difficulties of growing
up and how sometimes life's not fair and et cetera,

(01:00:53):
et cetera, and you lose and you don't get your way,
and sometimes you don't get your way even with it's
not even your fault, just because it wasn't fair. And
I have noticed this, and one of the textures has
talked about this. I'm not saying that all the problems
revolve around smartphones and iPads and how kids obsess over

(01:01:14):
these things, but you need to know what they're being
exposed to. But if you'd like to do an experiment,
and I'm going to warn you it may be eye
opening today, just without announcing, ask your kid to give
them give you their phone if they have one, ask
them take the iPad and say hey, I want that,

(01:01:35):
and then watch their reaction. If their reaction looks like
a drug addict and you just denied them a drug
and their response to you seems abnormal, that's a flag
I take note of that.

Speaker 5 (01:01:54):
Now.

Speaker 2 (01:01:54):
If they just hand it to you normally and say
sure you, then you know probably nothing to concerned about.
But if they have some meltdown like some kind of
drug addict or somebody that's it's a reaction that doesn't
seem normal. Yeah, I'd make a note of that. So

(01:02:16):
so anyway, we do have other things to talk about
on the show today, and one of them matters. Let's
go to last night. Our buddy Hannity got to sit
u Handedy got a little sit down, a lot of
people getting to sit down with Donald Trump. As we've said,
even the left having to admit, well, this is odd.
We have a president that does press conferences and is

(01:02:37):
willing to sit down and answer questions. Wow, this is odd.
We hadn't seen that other two hardly at all. So
so anyway, Trump sits down with Handedy. No, obviously this
is a friendly room. But Trump's been willing to sit
down with really anybody and answer questions. But this one,
obviously is someone who has defended Trump and supported Trump.

(01:02:58):
So this is a friendly room. But some interesting thing
things they talked about last night, And so let's start
out talking about the unvetted border and the dangers that
seemed to me to be obvious to our country. As
Donald Trump talks with Sean Hannity.

Speaker 11 (01:03:18):
So here we go, Sean who would ask for open
borders with people pouring in, some of whom I won't
get into it, but you can look at them and
you can say, could be trouble, could be trouble. There
are people coming.

Speaker 1 (01:03:35):
In with people gang tattoos on.

Speaker 11 (01:03:36):
There are people coming in with tattoos all over their face,
their entire faces covered with tattoos identify typically you know,
he's not going to be the head of the local bank.

Speaker 2 (01:03:49):
That's true.

Speaker 6 (01:03:50):
And you know, Hannity even talked about the fact that
there's concern that those that we've already let through, which
Trump says he thinks it might be bumping like twenty
one million. Sure that there's already sales in place within
the US. That's a concern because of just the open
gate we've had of who's already in here that we don't.

Speaker 2 (01:04:12):
Know right b is one that's been talked about a lot,
and that is and we all remember July thirteenth, the
near assassination of Donald J. Trump. I mean, Hannity says,
how did this affect your faith in God? Good question?

Speaker 12 (01:04:30):
Do you believe that moment people say to me they
see a change in you, Do you believe you've changed.
Is this, for example, increased your faith in God?

Speaker 2 (01:04:40):
Yes, I think so.

Speaker 11 (01:04:41):
I don't think I've changed, but I think that has
taken place. Yeah, because when you look at statistically.

Speaker 2 (01:04:49):
I should never be here.

Speaker 11 (01:04:52):
I mean, if I don't tell I'm looking at an
immigration chart, my favorite chart ever in history. Even it
was a even if the numbers were bad, I wouldn't mean.

Speaker 12 (01:05:01):
We're talking about assassination and.

Speaker 2 (01:05:05):
Terrible.

Speaker 13 (01:05:06):
Remember that day, like when I when I turned and
I had to be an exactly ninety degree angle, and
I said, throw down the chart or something to that effect,
and they bring the charge and I'm literally looking exactly at.

Speaker 11 (01:05:18):
The right angle. I couldn't have even been a little
further or a little bit less. It would have whacked
because it was an eighth of an inch. The entire
ride was an eighth of an inch.

Speaker 3 (01:05:28):
It would have whacked.

Speaker 2 (01:05:30):
He did, he did well, he's from New York. Uh
the uh you know, I know that he has shown
uh And I commend him a lot of courage, a
lot of toughness with this. But man, there has to
be those moments were you're just kind of sitting there,
nobody's around, Maybe you're looking out at the trees, just
kind of having a moment and you think one eighth

(01:05:52):
of an inch, I ain't. I ain't for you, by
the way, Uh be here can I can I point
out the obvious? We ever do anything about that? I mean,
where's that kid? What I mean, do we learn anything
about him? If I ever come back and tell us
what's going on?

Speaker 6 (01:06:12):
Any kind of It's weird how manifesto is get out
there quick and then some never do.

Speaker 1 (01:06:16):
Ye.

Speaker 2 (01:06:16):
Yeah, it's like this started, you know, how was how
was the security of him his so bad that day?
How did the guy? Did we ever answer any of
those questions other than firing some people and people stepping down?
Did anybody I mean that was It's like, that's the
shooter's history just yeah, never brought up again. Uh weird, weird.

(01:06:37):
Uh So now uh, Trump is asked about all the things,
all the pardons that that Biden was handing out. Well,
I've seen some of the people he's pardoned to, and
I'm like, I don't think I would give a speech
about the January sixth people who, by the way, most
have been in jail three years or more. It's not
like they didn't pay any price for it, but but
some of the people that Biden let out, Wow, I

(01:06:58):
mean some some really rough people. But anyway, here's Hannity
asking him about that.

Speaker 11 (01:07:05):
This guy went around giving everybody pardons and you know
the funny thing, maybe the sad thing is he didn't
give himself a part. And if you look at it,
it all had to do with him.

Speaker 2 (01:07:20):
Yeah, that's Everybody's had a lot of fun with that one.

Speaker 4 (01:07:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:07:24):
Final question that from as far as what we're going
to cover today, so the economy, and this is the
one I think that it was blinding. You know, if
I've seen some of the weird attempts from the left. Now, look,
if you're on the left, some of you have gotten
the message. Man. You have to get the message that
the things that you threw out there in the world

(01:07:46):
that you wanted America to embrace was rejected and rejected
in a big way. And a lot of that revolved
around societal issues, but boy, did it really revolve around
the economy. So here here is Hannedy ask you about that.

Speaker 11 (01:08:02):
Just somebody, somebody advised Joe Biden to get pardons to
everybody but him. They wanted to take care of him.

Speaker 2 (01:08:11):
He was young.

Speaker 13 (01:08:12):
They wanted to, I don't care that yelling.

Speaker 3 (01:08:14):
This is more important.

Speaker 11 (01:08:15):
Because right now the economy is going.

Speaker 4 (01:08:16):
To do great.

Speaker 1 (01:08:17):
I wanted to I'm here sad.

Speaker 11 (01:08:19):
But you have to USSI.

Speaker 2 (01:08:22):
And he's like, look, I can't spend any more time
on this pardon thing. I got to get through the comment.
I don't care, you know, he said, you know, he said,
here's all you gotta know about the economy. I'm back.
I'm back. I mean, I am by, I'm back. All
we got to know, we'll come back. Let's take some
of your phone calls. We've thrown a lot out there, lighthearted, serious,
we got it all, which is always the balance. A

(01:08:46):
day eight the number six, Big Box. A lot of
you are already texting too. We're seeing those comments same number
eight eight eight six to four four eight six nine.
But we'll talk to you on the phone America when
we come back.

Speaker 1 (01:09:00):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Okay, are you ready
to bring something to the table?

Speaker 2 (01:09:13):
Cool?

Speaker 1 (01:09:14):
No, and get on the show. One eight eight eight six,
Big Fox.

Speaker 2 (01:09:20):
Yeah. Phone calls coming in now, Greg taking them. Don't
get bogged down talking to Greg. No, need to talk
to the krank. Let him get you lined up, ready
to go eight eight eight, six big Vox things you
need to know. Man Church Conference starts tomorrow in Birmingham.
That's one of three conferences. I mentioned earlier that we
had a group that was coming to the Birmingham conference.

(01:09:43):
They wanted to be moved to the Atlanta conference. We
moved them and that freed up seven early access tickets
that have been sold out for months. But I am watching,
looks like all but three of those are gone. But
if you still want to and you can even get
early access, there's about a few hundred general mission left,

(01:10:05):
but only a handful of early access and those probably
will be gone as that before today is so if
you want to move on that, then do that now
at the Manchurch dot com if you don't have tickets
and you can actually get early access, which means you'll
get some primo seats as well. About three of those,
if I'm counting right left general mission. There's a few

(01:10:26):
hundred of those left, none of them available at the door,
so you need to go ahead and get them in
advance if you want to join us. We got a
lot to talk about, so scroll down just a minute.
So look at the twenty eight year old right here.
So I just mentioned this test to do with your
kid today about their phone or their iPad. He says,
as a twenty eight year old, I traded my iPhone

(01:10:48):
for a flip phone, and I can honestly say it's
so clarifying. You become so much more aware of just
how addicted people are to these smartphones. You obviously lose
a bunch of luxuries, but once you get used to that,
it is a bizarre how much mental clarity has come
back to my life and lower stress, and just the

(01:11:11):
attention span you get that you can now give to others.
This is a twenty eight year old that made this
decision to leave the smartphone and just get a flip
phone so they can text and make calls the things
that are important, and the removal of all this they said,
it's shocking. You don't realize it. And this is the
thing we keep talking about. I saw a minute ago
a pastor that says he talks to the youth all

(01:11:34):
the time, and he says, you got to get out
of this fake world. You're immersing yourself in a world
where you think these people are putting this stuff in
front of you, they're living this is all fake. None
of this is real, what these people I mean, and look,
we've been through it. It is even I am a
sixty years old and when I see people on social
media hiding behind fake names, you know, shredding us and

(01:11:57):
saying horrible things about us, lying about us, it's it'll
rally a little. You're like, man, I've got no control
over all this, but if you just remove yourself from it,
remove yourself from it, You're like, wait a minute, I've
immersed myself in a world that's not even real. And
so I commend that pastor for doing the ass. Stop

(01:12:19):
comparing your life to what others say about you. Are
there saying about their life, because they're showing you a
fake version of themselves, and what they're saying about you
isn't real either. They don't have any I mean, it
really is. There's a lot of good you can do
with it, and we put content out we hope you

(01:12:39):
enjoy it, but well there's a lot of bad with
it too. I just thought that was very, very interesting,
and this ties back to unfortunately the latest school shooting
we talked about a minute ago. All right, let's go
to the phones, let's go to ken Ken's out of Spartanburg,
South Carolina. Ken. Welcome to the Rick Burgess Show. Go ahead,

(01:12:59):
go ahead, buddy.

Speaker 4 (01:13:01):
Hey, Rick, how you doing good?

Speaker 2 (01:13:03):
Good?

Speaker 9 (01:13:05):
I just got I was kind of curious. Did you
see when the when the prayer was going on with
the inauguration, Biden kind of a bowed his head at
the top of his head looked really like, I don't
know if he's got some kind of look like melanoma
or something even on top of his head.

Speaker 4 (01:13:21):
I was just kind of anybody.

Speaker 2 (01:13:22):
Ever catch that, you know, I didn't know. It's I
haven't looked at the top of Biden's head very much
at all, but but I would think I would think
with his age and you know, aging spots and things
of that nature, it would not surprise me to see
his skull has some things on it. Yeah, I don't know,

(01:13:46):
and but but no, I haven't. I haven't seen it.

Speaker 4 (01:13:49):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:13:49):
By the way, what a good one, Rick. You're now
know how it feels to be a weather man. You
keep forecasting that the last CD is on streaming and
it never comes. Gosh, that's good. It is the text.
We're on fire. Kyle, Welcome to the Rick Burgess Show.
Go ahead, Hello, Rick and Games.

Speaker 10 (01:14:06):
Hey, listen, I'm kind of worried about Uh, I'm kind of.

Speaker 2 (01:14:09):
Worried about Greg Burges at this man church.

Speaker 10 (01:14:12):
This may be like that's is hunting trill.

Speaker 5 (01:14:14):
You ain't needed a buddy, then he's gonna be a buddy, now,
you know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (01:14:18):
Well, the sad part Kyle is the buddy we think
he's going to get is now Gary, and that doesn't
bring us, That doesn't bring us any comfort. Now, Hey,
I mean, I'm gonna mat and I look after him.
I don't ever ask anybody to feel sorry for me,
but maybe a simple prayer.

Speaker 6 (01:14:32):
Yeah, Hey, help Speedy keep up with those two, that
might be help.

Speaker 2 (01:14:35):
I agree, Uh, we continue lying great people. I just
that's tough, keeping up tough.

Speaker 5 (01:14:41):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:14:41):
There's lines becoming available if you want to join us.
Here's Brandon, Brandon, welcome to the Rick Burgess Show. Go ahead.

Speaker 14 (01:14:48):
I just want to say I love the new show
and your camp house show is awesome.

Speaker 2 (01:14:53):
Thank you.

Speaker 9 (01:14:54):
And I just want to ask Speedy if he has
got a truck like Gary's hit.

Speaker 2 (01:15:00):
Here we go, Here we go. Did you hear earlier,
Brandon when Speedy was like, hey, I got a problem
with how young Broderick edited that. It wasn't my truck.
Y'all didn't have the jumper cables, right, No, Brandon, I
mean it says what it says, right, Hey.

Speaker 15 (01:15:15):
Uh exactly did the job.

Speaker 4 (01:15:18):
So he needs to get one.

Speaker 2 (01:15:19):
Just No, Adler has too much van. He didn't know
where to put stuff, right, got to connect it to
the battery, Adler, it was connected. No, right, I'm sorry, Gary,
I'll do it. Is that your new Chris voice? I'm
just doing something so injured? Yeah, yeah, I damn am Yeah,
I've been painting. Is that I have a girly truck?

(01:15:40):
To quote the who he's throwing punches around and preaching
from his chair. Yes, okay, you gotta left at that.
We're looking. We're looking on the text right now. And
all these pictures, you know, last week, it was last
week it was does speedy look like Gary? Somebody has
given a picture. This is fantast and it's it's it's

(01:16:01):
the Michael Myers. What's that character Doctor Evil? And mini me, yes,
and it's got Gary is doctor Evil. It's got speed.

Speaker 3 (01:16:11):
It's so good.

Speaker 2 (01:16:12):
It's got speedy as many me. That is wow, fantastic.
Uh so so anyway, the other people are are are
saying Speedy that they're so sorry. Yeah, that's fine, so
to be And to be fair, it was Taylor's truck,
not Gary as they pulled over and then but the

(01:16:35):
jumper care was to the battery which would have jumped
off if it was hooked up correctly. That's fine. Yeah,
And if you've seen Camp House, episode two of the
Business Summit, that's a good texture or too. This says good.
Good to know that young Broderick and Taylor learned their
backup rows to replace Speedy and Adler, who clear are

(01:16:55):
never going to make it to the conference.

Speaker 6 (01:16:56):
Now that's the text. Are on fire today. Sure that
you are correct, But it was really good. I asked
Greg if he had seen it today when I when
I got oh, I forgotten look at that. Yeah, you know,
so he's he hadn't seen it, but he funny stuff.
When we did learn a lot, And I love Greg's
angle when he said we didn't video our meetings because

(01:17:17):
that would be boring, you know, Yeah, I mean there.

Speaker 2 (01:17:19):
Were so many more meetings and so much more commitment
to you know, the new the new show, the new company.
It may look like all we did was eat and hunt,
but there was so much more that was accomplished and
you can see the results. Yeah, and I like Brodie's
music selection too. Yeah, I'm just well Adler. I like
him editing out, you know some things. But Adler and

(01:17:41):
I panic for a minute the first time on episode one.
We thought he just used licensed music. But he's actually
found unlicensed. I mean the license whatever it's called music.
We can use whatever that's called music. But it almost
sounds too good to be music we can use, doesn't it.

Speaker 3 (01:17:56):
But at first I was like, hey, buddy, you can't
use like real music. He's like, it's not real.

Speaker 2 (01:18:00):
I'm like, oh, good deal, hollered at him. I did Yeah,
he screamed. Yeah. He got on him a little bit,
and then just a little cup of juice came right
over to Adler. We'll be back so much more to
cover on the program today, And don't forget. You can
get any of the show you may missed by simply

(01:18:22):
using the archives every day, either on the YouTube channel
or the podcast channel. All the live and archive options
are at Rick Burgess show dot com.

Speaker 1 (01:18:30):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (01:18:35):
All right. So I want to talk a little bit
about this this this new I mean, it really is
fascinating it. It's high tech. It's called Lumen. Do y'all
know what this is a lot of you have gone
and gotten this. It's not a gadget, Okay, it really
isn't so uh. It is not just a weight loss tool.

Speaker 7 (01:18:53):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:18:53):
This is something that that is going to give you
the information that you need for your health, metabolism, it's everything.
And I think what's happened and this is what Lumen
has solved for Sherry and me because we use it too.
It's it's the world's first handheld metabolic coach. It's a
device that measures your metabolism through your breath and then

(01:19:15):
on the app that you download with it, it lets you
know if you're burning fat or carbs. It gives you
tailored guidance to improve your nutrition, your workouts, your sleep,
even stress management. Now why is that important? Well, I'm
gonna tell you why it's important because a lot of
times we're just hearing about some new crave you know,
crave craze out there that has to do with say,

(01:19:36):
the fasting. You know how people are doing all this
intermediate enter How do you say it in a minute? Fasting.
They're fasting different times of the day, but anyway, so
what the time frame needs to be for you, It
may not be the same as somebody else, and lumen
will tell you that. So all you do is breathe
into the lumen first thing in the morning, and you'll

(01:19:56):
know what's going on with your metabolism, whether you're burning
mostly fats, carbs, and then it gives you a personalized
nutrition plan for the day based on your measurements. That's
the key. Maybe I don't need to be fasting the
length of time i'm fasting. That's not what's best for me.
Maybe I need to adjust my workout. Maybe I need
to adjust my nutrition based on what lumen is telling me.

(01:20:20):
It is invaluable. So you can get yours right now.
You can go to Lumen lu m e n dot
me slash Rick Lumen l u m e n dot
me slash Rick. Get twenty percent off your lumen. Now,
that's l u M e n dot me slash Rick
for twenty percent off your lumens. Re say, you gotta

(01:21:01):

(01:22:01):
nine are go directly to the website and shop there.

Speaker 11 (01:22:05):
All right.

Speaker 2 (01:22:05):
So one of the things we need to look at
right out of the gate, fellas, is how did college
football's playoff championship? How did how did it go with
the viewers? Did it garner a very large audience? Well,
it's according to what you're comparing it to. I really
thought that they had a chance with it being, you know,

(01:22:27):
the first two teams to work through a twelve team playoff,
you get two storied programs. I mean, when you think
about college football, Hillo State and Notre Dame, you don't
get much more storied than that. So I thought maybe
bringing people in just because these are well known programs
and they have their own audience, but I thought it

(01:22:49):
might bring others as well. But ESPN has announced yesterday
that the Buckeyes second national championship in the College Football
Player Off era. That means, you know, they did one
win in the four two, but they this is the
first time anybody's won it in the twelve twenty two
point one million viewers. Now that is the most watched

(01:23:11):
non NFL sporting event over the past year. But it
is a twelve percent drop from the twenty five million
who watch Michigan beat Washington last year thirty four thirteen.
So a drop in the audience by twelve percent. Now, Speedy,
you were talking about when we brought this up. It
is the third lowest audience of all of the CFP

(01:23:34):
title games. There were eleven of those. This is in
the This is the third lowest.

Speaker 4 (01:23:40):
So.

Speaker 2 (01:23:42):
I think there's a lot. I think you've made a
good point. The day they picked to play the game,
first of all, people's schedules are a little off because
it's Martin Luther King Junior Day. We're inaugurating President Trump.
Now some of you will say, as I did when
I first saw this, well that was earlier in the day. Yeah,
but Trump sat down and but he went to work.

(01:24:04):
So there was a lot of footage, a lot of
footage of Trump, a lot of him talking to people,
a lot of him answering questions. I think America was
concerned about where we were headed economically in so many
and socially, uh, and our standing in the world that
I think this was such a big moment.

Speaker 6 (01:24:21):
It was Drew speedy, you know it did you know
when he was at the rally and then he started
signing all of the executive orders on stage. When that
coverage ended, I thought, well, okay, it's over. And then
we went to the game and and got settled into that,
and then Terry got a text from friend saying he's
back at it. He's in the Oval office and he's
he's just talking to press. So then that's it drew

(01:24:44):
me back to that because at the time it looked
like Ohio State was kind of really had control of
things anyway. And then so yeah, and then they had
the balls and and all that that night, and so
there was a lot going on, a lot going on.
There just a lot of distractions that maybe if there
wasn't so much competition that people might have just easily

(01:25:05):
gone over.

Speaker 2 (01:25:06):
Yeah, yeah, I think it did. And so I don't
think you can just blame the matchup. Now you might
can blame that, you know, because I don't know how
they do it on the viewers. Like I didn't have
any issue abandoning the game at halftime because it looked
like Ohio State was clearly in command. You dialed away
from it for the same reason. So I think the

(01:25:28):
programs were not the problem, because we all tend to
live in our own little world and think, well, if
it's not the teams I like, then nobody else likes
them either. That's really not true. As a matter of fact,
a lot of southern college football fans, we can't even
believe that more people watch the NFL, but they do.
They do. I mean, it's not as big a deal

(01:25:48):
to the whole country as we think it should be,
you know, because it's what we like. So I thought
that those two programs actually would do really well in
a game because of all their history.

Speaker 4 (01:26:00):
M hm.

Speaker 6 (01:26:00):
And but you know how the NFL, You know how
the NFL has like you know, America's team or whatever
does college outside I know fandom is a little more
crazy when it comes to college football.

Speaker 2 (01:26:12):
But are there are there teams?

Speaker 6 (01:26:14):
And I'm sure there's some you know, breakdown that Adler
will find where on average more people will root for
them like than others.

Speaker 2 (01:26:22):
Or is it just I guess you're talking about Bama. Yeah, well, I.

Speaker 6 (01:26:27):
Mean there's that, but I just was a ratings monster.

Speaker 2 (01:26:30):
The world wants to see Bama road tide.

Speaker 6 (01:26:34):
So, but you know the two teams we've talked about,
how if you're not I would have thought Notre Dame,
I would have look Notre Dame.

Speaker 2 (01:26:42):
Yeah when when I and a lot of people hate
Notre Dame, but but Notre Dame. I remember, honestly straight up,
and I don't think I'm alone on this. I grew up.
I had no idea where Notre Dame was located. I
had no idea. Now I knew Notre Dame, I knew
everything about it, but if you asked me what stated
what state it was in, I had no idea. I

(01:27:04):
remember the first time I realized it was in Indiana.
I didn't really know what to do with myself. I
was like, I was like, what's Notre Dame doing in Indiana? Well,
that's what it's always been, Rick, That's where South ben is.
But but I honestly, I just remember, I mean as
a kid, if you asked me as a kid, name
another team other than the ones in your state, I
would have probably said Notre Dame. I would have usc

(01:27:24):
usc Yeah, I would have said Michigan, Michigan. I knew
Michigan real well. And Nebraska Nebraska back when they were good.
And do you think that's something Trump could do? Can
he make Nebraska good again? I don't know, They've been
trying for a while. I really want Nebraska to be
good again. I like Nebraska, I like I love their program.

(01:27:46):
I grew up really loving it. Yeah, and I want
them to be good again.

Speaker 3 (01:27:50):
Ye needy to answer your question.

Speaker 8 (01:27:54):
To answer your question, because most, I mean most states
have a at least one university with a major football program.
It's tougher for these college teams to be such a
regional favorite because I mean, you even look in our
state and you've got Auburn and Alabama. Georgia's got Georgia,
Ole Miss. I mean, everywhere you look.

Speaker 2 (01:28:16):
They've got a team left them out.

Speaker 3 (01:28:19):
I forgot Miss George, I forgot that. Yeah, but you
see what I'm saying.

Speaker 8 (01:28:24):
These NFL teams have an easier time going regional because
they don't have a rival to do.

Speaker 6 (01:28:30):
Yeah, and I also think that, and I know they
can't rival with the NFL. You can't play at the
same time. But having the championship game, like on a
Saturday afternoon at two thirty, that audience is already kind
of built in. Yeah it might have been, but again,
you had the NFL, so you can't do that so well.

Speaker 2 (01:28:47):
And the other thing Adler is the there's exceptions, but
most of them college is like, for instance, South ben
I had no idea where that was. Okay, if it
was in Indianapolis, I would have known. The NFL Also,
they're franchises for obvious reasons, tend to be from really
large metropolitan areas too, with a lot more people. Yeah,

(01:29:08):
you know, I mean when anybody honestly in our state,
no offense, it's a beautiful place. But when you see
Auburn University probably that's how most people have found out
about Auburn. You know that that's not as easy to know,
Like say, somebody said Birmingham you go, oh yeah, you're
from another state, from another place. So when you hear Philadelphia,

(01:29:30):
New York City, Los Angeles, Indianapolis, you know you're like,
oh yeah, Baltimore. Oh well that's that's a lot of folks. Yeah,
and it's also a lot easy to grasp. Yeah. So yeah,
no doubt about that.

Speaker 8 (01:29:45):
I've been able to find a most hated college football
team's map. But that's I mean, where you're popular, you're
also most hated.

Speaker 2 (01:29:53):
I've noticed brings.

Speaker 8 (01:29:55):
Yeah, yeah, like Texas, the whole state seems to hate Texas.

Speaker 3 (01:29:59):
But that we know that's true. Same with Alabama, Ole
Miss all that.

Speaker 2 (01:30:02):
Oh no, I remember when people came to have come up.
I've gone out, you know, and been places. And when
you bring up the state, obviously Alabama is usually better known.
And so they'll sometimes think, and they'll say to a
rival person, I'll just use those two because that's one
of the most awful rivals. There's many others. So I

(01:30:24):
guess you you're from Alabama. You know who do you
pull for? Auburn? Okay, but I mean you're you're glad
Alabama's in the championship. No, and and and they look
and go, what you know they don't. There's not a
lot of that raw rows. Like you said, you usually
loved and hated about as much in the same place
by your rival. If your rival hates you as much
as your people love you, now I've noticed it. If

(01:30:44):
it's a good rival, Michigan has.

Speaker 8 (01:30:46):
A lot of haters up north. It's like if you
went in down hate Michigan team.

Speaker 2 (01:30:52):
Okay, we'll be back. More to cover. Don't forget the website.
Rick Burgesshow dot Com Episode two tales from the Camp
House Business Something Something now label on our YouTube channel

It is a brand new show today where you've enjoyed
hanging out with you. Got a lot more to cover, uh,
and I do want to point to something that is
hopefully about now pretty obvious. If you're not getting a
good night's sleep, not good, not good, you you need that.
I mean that's when the body's I mean everything's resetting,
getting ready for the next day. Now, if you're checking,

(01:31:56):
you know your your Apple watch or you know whatever.
These some other kind of ring thing you can have.
I don't even know what that thing is, but it
tells you, you know, how you slay up. Here's your hours,
here's how you did. And you're not seeing good things.
You're getting up. Your back's hurting, you're not you're not
You're tossing, you're turning. You get big eye. Well it
could be because you don't have the right mattress. What

(01:32:19):
about a mattress that was customized and design for you,
just just for you, like the one Greg one. Yeah
you have one. He look sleep dot com. It was
designed for me in my preference. You and little Lee
Lee snuggled up heliksleep dot com slash big Vox twenty
percent off. They want to know how you sleep backside stomach.

(01:32:41):
Tell them. By the way, it just happened the other
day I was talking about I said, yea, I said,
what can I do A talking to Sean the trainer,
you know, he's really kind of get me back in line,
and yeah, and I said, I got to stretch in
the mor of my lower back, you know, And I
think maybe and he goes, he goes to your stomach,
slipper and I was like, yeah, yeah, but so you

(01:33:01):
need a mattress that accounts for that. Yeah, okay, Helix
Sleep dot com slash Big Vox. It takes about two
minutes to do that. They want to know over you
like a firm mattress, soft medium, It's customized, and then
they ship it right to your door. It's made right
here in America. God bless Americasa USA. They send it
right to your door. No shipping charge there, no no
no shipping charge there. And then you get to sleep

(01:33:25):
on it for up to one hundred nights to make
sure you love it, and if you don't, they'll refund it.
So go right now to Helix Sleep dot com slash
Big Vox twenty percent off. I just use the link
at Rick Burgess Show dot com. A couple of other
things to discuss on the program today, I want to
talk about some of the Southerners in winter weather. Now,
we did this yesterday. Some of the videos and pictures

(01:33:48):
that all of you were sending us since the last
time we were together. The Deep South is still enjoying.
Did you see last night I was watching I guess
it was the news for a minute and I saw
DeSantis and He was talking about how his family, they
his kids have never really got to deal with snow
and how they're having a blast in the snow. So

(01:34:09):
a couple of videos and stories involving Southerners in the snow.
I mean some who haven't had a snow like this
in their lifetime. Okay, So here's the Gulf Coast covered
in snow. This is that's a satellite photo. You don't
see often that you don't see that satellite photo all that. Yeah,
and uh and so that that that one's abute. Did

(01:34:31):
y'all see the footage of the people running into the water.
Why don't we go saw the snow into the ocean.
That's why won'tybody do that? It was it was bizarre
to see the beach. Yeah, you know these these people
they just took off and they were hitting the waves. Well,
I had to be horrible. You go to New Orleans
Canal Street. Uh, I think this is They said, he's

(01:34:52):
in a minor league hockey league. This guy gets out
look on the streets in New Orleans and he is
he's got his puck out, he's got his stick, and
he's out there ice skating on Canal Street. Oh.

Speaker 3 (01:35:06):
He just tripped on some beads, so darn it.

Speaker 2 (01:35:08):
Yeah. Well they went to Bourbon Street and snow was yellow,
yeah you boy, and had a beautiful place. Oh, y'all
nice skates. I'm okay, I'm not like this guy, but
I can ice skate, but it's horrible on my foot.
Much yeah, much better roller skater.

Speaker 8 (01:35:27):
I mean, you know, as a kid, anytime I would
fall at the ice skating rink, I'd always be afraid
somebody's gonna come by and take my fingers off.

Speaker 3 (01:35:33):
Yeah, immediately, yeah, my fingers all right.

Speaker 2 (01:35:36):
So so so when do we when? When do when
do we officially go to Gulf of America? When's that?

Speaker 5 (01:35:45):
I thought?

Speaker 2 (01:35:46):
And who gets to sound of that to declare it?
I think I think Rubyo his.

Speaker 6 (01:35:52):
I think he's going down to Panama Canal first, okay, yeah,
And then I think, yeah, we just got a picture
a big head chuck that the boy chuck shoveling snow.

Speaker 2 (01:36:02):
And boy, I tell you his uh, his honey's gonna
be cold. Yeah, so so now and and this one
they build this up, but I gotta say it takes
away from a little bit everybody's showing me that the
mobile Civic Center in Alabama down on the golf coast
or the bay there, and that the snow calls the

(01:36:23):
ceiling to collapse. But then they forget to tell you
to you get all into the story, right, we were
tearing this down anyway, that even counts not a story.
That doesn't count. It doesn't if you're if you're demolishing that, Yeah,
then the snow taking the roof down, that's not a
big helps.

Speaker 3 (01:36:40):
You if anything.

Speaker 2 (01:36:41):
Yeah, exactly, it just saved you a little work.

Speaker 5 (01:36:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:36:44):
So there's there's the picture of that snow roof didn't
barely holding the roof didn't really fall in. It was
they were tearing it down.

Speaker 3 (01:36:54):
And that's like a homeless encampment burning.

Speaker 2 (01:36:58):
All right, Adler good no, my goodness. So it really did.
And we know that's the last thing we want to
do here. How about an alligator frozen under ice? Yeah,
where do we see? Yeah? Don't they do that?

Speaker 4 (01:37:15):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:37:16):
And the siout But how how that thing's cold blooded?
He's going to talk about here.

Speaker 16 (01:37:22):
Are incredibly cold tolerant. Out of all the crocodilians, they're
the most cold tolerant. Second off, we do sometimes see
in the wild alligators frozen under the ice. Because of this,
they've actually developed an amazing survival system called formation. Formation
is a little bit like hibernation. They'll slow their hot
rate and their metabolism down.

Speaker 2 (01:37:42):
To the condition. That's what that's what you do.

Speaker 3 (01:37:47):
So they're just thinking warm this whole time.

Speaker 2 (01:37:49):
Bottom line, they're thinking warm.

Speaker 8 (01:37:50):
Greg, you're like a frozen alligator under the ice, essentially
remind me.

Speaker 2 (01:37:54):
Of it also means you're a little bit crocodilian.

Speaker 8 (01:37:58):
Did that freak call out when it started moving too
moves under the ice a little bit and you're.

Speaker 3 (01:38:03):
Like, oh, you are alive?

Speaker 2 (01:38:05):
Is that what you say, Adler? Creepy? Yeah? So uh
So anyway that those I can't get enough of this stuff,
I mean the Southerners in the snow and again deep
South this time. Uh it was a Gulf of America
runner when it went all the way down to the
Gulf of America. I'm just trying it out. I mean,

(01:38:25):
like world maps. So they got to change say it again,
let's say right now like y'all did over the over
the Christmas and New Year break, talk about your family
going to the Gulf of America. See that sounds down
to the Gulf of America. Yeah, yeah, we got a
little beach house dinner, you know, in the Gulf of
America right there to the Gulf of America. Yeah, well

(01:38:47):
that doesn't sound.

Speaker 3 (01:38:48):
We do have technically more coastline. So I'm support it.

Speaker 2 (01:38:53):
I support it. Everybody's out. By the way, Greg has
started this year challenge. There's a guy Greg has inspired
now young men everywhere look at him. His hagging there
that boy after a bumping gas with no shirt off. Brennan,

(01:39:15):
you're young of my beer though. Phone calls are next
by the way. By the way, Mac, I see you
texting that you want to get on the phones. Well,
here's the phone segment next, mister mable.

Speaker 1 (01:39:27):

will be put out this Saturday. Also, of course, we
got the Man Church conferences coming up Birmingham, one of
three conferences Birmingham. You start tomorrow. There are tickets still available.
You can go to Themanchurch dot com and get your tickets.
Get them before you get to the door. There won't
be any available at the door. Last I heard when
we had we released some early access tickets because we

(01:40:58):
had a group move their tickets to the Atlanta conference.
But I think those are gone. There might be one left,
but you can check that. But I do know there's
general mission available at the Manchurch dot com. Also Andalusjah.
You're listening to us on one O seven seven. James
Span will represent team Manchurch. He's coming to see you
Saturday night and he'll be there at Southside Baptist Church

(01:41:20):
for that Manchurch. I think even doing the book signing too,
So go see James Spin coming up. Find those details
at the Maanchurch dot com. Over to Burgessmistries dot com. Ladies,
here's something for you. Sherry is coming to Tuscaloosa, I
wrote Tad. She's speaking at University Church of Christ women's
ministry event. It is a brunch on Saturday, February the first.

(01:41:42):
Get those details at Burgessmistries dot Com. To the phones,
we go. Mac from Malville standing by. All right, So Mack,
you said you've been trying to get in, So what's
on your mind?

Speaker 9 (01:41:52):
D Yes, all right, Yes, Well, first of all, I've
been fashion for two weeks about this, and I need
to check in on Greg and make sure that that
is that Christmas stuff still up?

Speaker 2 (01:42:04):
Have we gotten it down yet? It is officially still up?
Oh wow, Greg, Lord listen.

Speaker 9 (01:42:10):
He raced out to y'all a couple of weeks ago
and he was begging for help, and y'all ignored his cries.
He kind of bawled in and enabled it. You enabled it,
and listen, listen, listen. There's a fine line there. You
gotta get that stuff down because there's a mental break
after that first week in January till around October where
you ain't got to worry about going u from that

(01:42:32):
attic and wearing the path and.

Speaker 2 (01:42:34):
Paul, who's a good point it.

Speaker 9 (01:42:37):
Is, you're gonna get to that point where you can't
come back.

Speaker 2 (01:42:40):
I believe I believe she's gonna start coming down this weekend.
You're you're right, Mac, he's got a window that he's
got a window that's closing. Yeah, this made me sick. List.

Speaker 9 (01:42:51):
I put a piece of Christmas stuff back up. I
put a Christmas stuff back up just for you. I'm
not what you go through this long.

Speaker 2 (01:42:57):
I appreciate it you put it back out. It's pretty good. Greg.
He's right though. Now you're gonna it's gonna run into
next year. I mean they are this year now, you
know what I'm saying. Yeah, I got you. Uh, let's
go to Thomas. I don't know, I don't know what.
You can join us. Speedy's taking calls now, there's room
for you. Uh, let's go to Thomas in Dothan News
Talk one to oh three nine three nine.

Speaker 3 (01:43:17):
Thomas, go, hey, Rick, how's it going fired up?

Speaker 2 (01:43:21):
Thomas? I hope you are.

Speaker 14 (01:43:24):
I'm about as fired up as I can do. I'm
in my car right now and I'm just waiting for
all the snow to claroff. Winshill drip by drip. But anyway,
new show sounds great. Thank you everything I'd like so far.

Speaker 2 (01:43:35):
Thank you.

Speaker 14 (01:43:37):
Got a question there, There's one very very obvious thing that,
other than a championship, that the Ohio State buck Eyees
and the Los Angeles Dodgers have in common, and that's
just spend and spend and spend some more. How have
you talked to any coaches of young people that how
do you explain something of this? If your if your

(01:43:58):
players ask you.

Speaker 2 (01:43:59):
For practice, what do you mean, ask you about what
after practice? About?

Speaker 14 (01:44:05):
You know, as hard he can, just work as hard
as he can every now and then it's fun. You
get to the big basketball tournament and like the number
fourteen seed beats a number three seed and that's fun
for all. But but just the entities that are just
have just got money to burn or like, yeah, I
see when the overwhelming majority of championships from here on out.

Speaker 2 (01:44:26):
You're talking about that. I think someone through it out
there that Ohio State's national championship team was a twenty
one million dollar team, and of course you see this. Yeah, well,
I think it's a great time for what I was
talking about earlier. When you start talking about life's not fair.
I mean, this is what you can do now. I mean,
these are the rules. So what I would say to

(01:44:47):
people out there working hard is we can work hard
and go out and beat teams that might have more
money and maybe buying players, or we can start doing
what they're doing, which I think you do. See there
was a time when you saw Alabama when Saban got
to Alabama, and I know that this was before all

(01:45:07):
the money, and Saban now speaking very freely about that
really was the reason he was like, I'm done, And
I understand trying to manage that. But if you remember,
there was a time where Alabama just looked head and
shoulders above their team didn't even look like thereabouts this team.
But then suddenly, over time, the other team started looking
like Alabama. Kirby Smart goes over to Georgia coming out

(01:45:30):
of that system, and suddenly Georgia looks a lot like Alabama,
and so I think you've got to do another version
of that now in the NIL world. I now look
at what Ohio State did, and eventually you'll see everybody
else finds a way to do that or they get
left out. I want my team to look like Ohio
State and now tell you the problem you're going to

(01:45:51):
have in this NIL world. And I got to talk
about this a little bit on a podcast that I
was fortunate enough to be asked to be on. It's
out now by the way, with eighteen nineteen use and
I did, red, what do you do? Re exit or
whatever I did, reposted it whatever. So but I said,
I was telling him because it was one of the
topics we talked about. And and I said, you know,

(01:46:14):
the problem you're running into is that one time you
brought people to your university by putting your money in facilities.

Speaker 4 (01:46:20):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:46:20):
The problem now is I don't know what these facilities
are going to start looking like because now all the
money needs to go into the NIL account. Uh. But
to answer your question, I think you tell kids that
life's not fair. Uh, these are the rules. Ohio State's
not breaking the rules. Uh. And we got to get
in the game or get beat by it.

Speaker 4 (01:46:39):
You know.

Speaker 2 (01:46:40):
It's yeah, it's I remember you know when when Bubba
and I, you know, when Bubba and I made the
decision about getting into syndication and and and we said, well,
get into syndication or get replaced by it. Now we're
saying get into streaming or get replaced by it. You know,
now you've got to have terrestrial and streaming. You can,
you can, you know, stump your feet and say I

(01:47:01):
don't want to get involved in streaming, and I think, oh,
that's new fangled whatever, and then you can find yourself
at home with no job while everybody else is watching
and listening to streaming. You know, you got to adapt.
Let's go to Brendan Outa Montgomery. I ninety two, Brendan,
go ahead, morning.

Speaker 4 (01:47:19):
It's a couple of days late, but I was going
to see if I could get a happy birthday.

Speaker 1 (01:47:23):
Oh boy, release the Kraken.

Speaker 2 (01:47:27):
It's your birthday. It's my birthday and you're wanting wanting
us to sing it to you.

Speaker 4 (01:47:34):
Oh yeah, yeah, especially you Greg.

Speaker 2 (01:47:38):
A minute, do you have a big party? No?

Speaker 4 (01:47:42):
Actually I had to work all day?

Speaker 2 (01:47:44):
Okay? How old are How old are you? Brendan?

Speaker 4 (01:47:48):
Thirty three? Great?

Speaker 2 (01:47:50):
Okay, Brendan, Well, I mean it's thirty three. Is that
he's not old? I mean, did you get yourself a present? Brendan?

Speaker 4 (01:47:59):
I got my helf a chiropractor appointment. I don't know
if that counts.

Speaker 2 (01:48:02):
Yeah, I hope, yeah, I think are you bothered by
the fact that he's called in on bout behalf of
himself wanting your birthday. Yeah, most of the time it's
people want to wish someone else's birthday rare, rare. Do
we get one that they want to worsh their sales one?
But I mean, you know I didn't.

Speaker 4 (01:48:18):
Get any happy birthday wishes?

Speaker 2 (01:48:19):
Oh no, well you'd have now, Brendan, you having a
Greg sing to him, Happy thirty three years old, little world,
Happy birthday, birthday, Brandon, I hope you have a fine one.
And yeah, oh boy, thanks for listening to the show

(01:48:41):
chiropractice and encouraging even though Greg did not return that encouragement.

Speaker 4 (01:48:45):
Thank you, and Adler, I want to challenge you to
a sparring match. It's on.

Speaker 2 (01:48:51):
You're done, are you wow? A Brazilian jiu jitsu gun?

Speaker 4 (01:48:57):
No? Absolutely not, but I can take it.

Speaker 2 (01:48:59):
You got well, yeah, you got times. Brandon got a
good radio voice. But you all go ahead. I'm sorry,
I got a face for it too.

Speaker 3 (01:49:06):
Why don't you maybe get some friends first, then we
can talk.

Speaker 4 (01:49:11):
Well, I'll tell you what, I'll take you down, and
then we can tell we can deal with that.

Speaker 8 (01:49:15):
Okay, Hey, but for real, get out roll with me, bro, Oh,
get out more.

Speaker 3 (01:49:20):
Maybe go to churroll with me bro, Go to a.

Speaker 8 (01:49:22):
Farmer's market, go to a shirt get some socializing going
on walking, go.

Speaker 3 (01:49:29):
To jiu jitsu. You can make friends there for real.

Speaker 2 (01:49:31):
Yeah, and then beat each other up.

Speaker 8 (01:49:33):
It's a It is an epidemic that men in their
thirties have a hard time making friends.

Speaker 3 (01:49:37):
Trust me, I.

Speaker 8 (01:49:38):
Get it, but it uh, it is good for you, man.
Try to try to get out, Try to get out something.

Speaker 2 (01:49:44):
Time into your world. Yes, time listening to z z
e K out of pel City. Time. Go ahead.

Speaker 4 (01:49:55):
Hey, I got a challenge that kid that's sent in
the picture with the shirt off.

Speaker 14 (01:50:00):
About if guys do that, y'all let them stay spin
the wheel and.

Speaker 10 (01:50:05):
They get bused for showing their main card.

Speaker 14 (01:50:07):
How about that?

Speaker 2 (01:50:08):
Now we don't have enough money for that? Yeah? Too
much money. Yeah, that's too much that. I'm already in trouble. Yeah,
you came out way too hard, so I was not
supposed to the amazing Robbie that day. I had to
help them. We'll be back. Still so much more to
cover today. As we rode through another Rick Burgess show,
other opportunities for you to join us, be a phone,

(01:50:29):
you can join us via text, you can email us,
follow us on social media. All that's available to you
all the time. We'll be right back.

Speaker 1 (01:50:36):
This is the Rick Burgers Show Morning. In order to
truly benefit from this show, you must have a sense

(01:50:57):
of humor, so light up, Francis and enjoy the Rick
Butcher's sh.

Speaker 2 (01:51:03):
There we go. We're rolling right along here. Thank you
for being with us today. We've discussed a lot. If
you missed any of it, catch the daily archives either
on our podcast channel or on our YouTube channel. Greg
I just got called down from my wife Lisa, who

(01:51:24):
said that decorations coming down this weekend. Uh oh, so
I guess I got corrected. So do you know has
Lisa given you some one know who's that? I guess
it was me. Yeah, I guess I'm kind of hoping Lisa,
he said, And he said it with a little bit
of here. He said it with a little bit of authority,
he did. I'll tell you one thing, Thank you for
letting me know that, Mac, they're coming down this weekend.

(01:51:45):
That is not really not a good weekend for it.
With man Church, It's not a lot of stuff next week,
So much going on. What this one's we get it
down before February. Well, I mean, but against this has
never happened.

Speaker 6 (01:51:59):
You don't here though, right, you don't care because whatever
makes her happy, it doesn't matter.

Speaker 2 (01:52:03):
I'll admit. When you turn the lights on, it's kind
of joyful there. You of course, whatever you want, you
got it. Ad meant though, I mean we get into February.
I mean, it's start the discussion, right, yeah, But that's
that's what made fun of somebody I used to work
with one time about his being up in February, and
the boy look at me. It's just the two of you,
though you're so far knows what do the grandkids do?
The grandkids like it? Yeah, I bet they doing their thanks.

(01:52:28):
Then it is coming. So it's bringing your wife joy,
it's bringing your grandkids joy. Why can't it bring you joy?
It doesn't bother me, it really, I mean, I'm kind
of glad I hadn't had food with it. But I
know there's a point out it's out there. I'm gonna
have to take them down. Do you know what? It's
leave it up. I know that that's all the things
you can't I know, how about this? All the things
I say. All the things I say still stand. But

(01:52:49):
I know what it feels like. It feels like in
school when they would just sign you a report this
due and you had a project they gave you, and
until the project's done, it's just kind of hanging over
you little it. Yeah, because sometimes my mind goes if
i'd have been business as usual, I'd already have it
down and put don't let that creep in. Don't let
that in my mind. Don't let that creep in hurts them.

Speaker 3 (01:53:11):
Right, here's a picture of Greg's.

Speaker 8 (01:53:15):
I'm sorry, that's the Christmas inn in gathering kitchen forest
that stays Christmas year round.

Speaker 3 (01:53:20):
Yeah, I get those two confused.

Speaker 8 (01:53:23):
It's Gregg's house or it's the twenty four seven three
sixty five Christmas plate.

Speaker 2 (01:53:27):
We could do that what we're going Hey, listen, I'm
going on this right now. I like this texture. At
this point, I think you order. You remember in side
fel when when Cranmer want to see how far it
could go on empty? Yeah, I think at this point, heck,
just leave them up. I see how long I get
to the point where I go to them. We're coming down.
Leave it up, Let Christmas start again. And I think

(01:53:49):
with some sunny you benefit then because you don't have
to put it back up, so you still win. You
never put them up, and you go a whole nother year.
I'm not having to put it up, and then you
don't have to take it back out. It's already up.
You're almost getting two years out of this. You may
be right. Once they get past a certain point, yeah,
then you're gonna be macaus. You're like, well, heck in
five months, I got to bring it back. Oh yeah.

(01:54:11):
And when people do their Christmas in July sales, you're like, yeah,
sounds great. And what's so funny about it is the
tree so giant. It's the big one. Like you walk in,
you still get your tree. When the minute you walk in,
you like, holy mother, let me change, let me try
big their tree as even Santa commented on it. One
ho hoa. That is a great point. Once it gets

(01:54:33):
past a certain you have to put it right back.
I said, you miss a takedown and you miss a
put up, you get a whole round. It's weird. It's weird,
and it's gonna be I might think there's something wrong
with you, but I'll say.

Speaker 11 (01:54:48):
Move.

Speaker 2 (01:54:49):
You can't do that so you can airbnb be a Christmas.

Speaker 8 (01:54:52):
In Oh Christmas place Pigeon Ford, or how about.

Speaker 2 (01:54:57):
This, just don't invite anybody over for a year. You
a lot of people anyway, and it'll be up so
long you'll forget you want to be recognize, you won't
even see You'll walk by the Christmas tree and you
don't even see it because it's gonna be up so long.
Think about this. That's true. Lisa loves it, Your grandkids
love it. Who what you want your house? That's true.
That's a good point. Really like it. They look at

(01:55:17):
it a lot from that side. Sure, And if I
come in pee on it? Yeah, if I happen to
pop in, who cares? Yeah? Of course, you know. I
try to be sharp and put those things over the faucets.
The spicot's on that side of your house because it's cold.
Oh yeah. Would you think she did to those chew
them off? Oh yeah, Greg, that is she's got a
little foam cover. Yes, I knew when I put them

(01:55:39):
uncles you pull, they got this little strings. I said,
she'll never let that happen. She'll see that stringing. Did
you know that was one enough? It was laying everywhere.
That was one of those things because I knew that
I knew at my house now at that that one
will freeze. Listen, listen. Down to camp house, we just
shut everything off, emptied out all the pops and never
even went there because that's that's that's old school stuff

(01:56:01):
down there. I felt like that where we live we
were in great shape, and I thought the only place
we were susceptible with the outside fosset, did you put
the little thing over? Couldn't do it? I knew I
should have. I just finally went I happen to be
I would have to go get some Yes, speed Speedy
had discussed it right, and I thought, well, on my

(01:56:23):
way home, there's the loads. It's easy to go in
and now I ain't gonna spend a lot of time
in there if I can't just find them. I did
have to ask somebody, but they took me to this
display in the middle and they were just piled as
high as you could see.

Speaker 4 (01:56:33):
Right.

Speaker 6 (01:56:33):
Oh wow, that was to restock because like, because I
had one, couldn't find another one, and so on the
other one. I just did two pair of hunting socks
with with a sandwich bag over it and zip top.

Speaker 3 (01:56:47):
That's good, that's pretty good.

Speaker 2 (01:56:49):
Yeah, I would have destroyed that. Yeah, I've done.

Speaker 3 (01:56:53):
I've done rags and duct tape before it just a
bunch of rags and bunch and think about that is
it looks good on your own?

Speaker 2 (01:57:01):
So so you know, I know we're getting out of
the woods on that a little bit. But what's what
I realize right now is I think I've made it,
and the water bills will come in and be twelve
in or buck. I'm going to realize, oh my gosh,
it's somewhere, you know. Yeah, I thought I was sharp.
I was getting out ahead of it. Oh man, well
you got a Christmas tree? What do you caren't I'm
going to look at the tree. It's heating us over

(01:57:23):
the lots really eat but all of it or just
she's no, she hasn't found them all, but she's got
them one and which today means when I get home
there'll be more.

Speaker 3 (01:57:32):
But we used to have a dog chewing on your
house right now.

Speaker 2 (01:57:34):
Pretty much pretty much. She's also remembered she's chewed the
wiring up on the garage door three times, three times.

Speaker 6 (01:57:40):
This is the one that had all the puppies. And
for those of you that don't know, yeah, she's she's
y'all took.

Speaker 2 (01:57:45):
In the gift that keeps on giving.

Speaker 17 (01:57:47):
Boys.

Speaker 2 (01:57:50):
Hey, when she showed up, she was skinning bones. You
could tell she as fat as a tick. I bet
you her butt's a wide great, you can put a
saddle on her. T am I female dog right right,
it's yeah, But I mean you'll understand she was so

(01:58:10):
skinny and alous anybody, she's still not like you. No,
doesn't like me at all? Is that the way you
talked to her. I try to be nice, but she's
still not like you. She'll get two feet from him bark.
So she's had a pretty she's having a pretty good
life now. I understand now she's somewhat confused about when Christmas,
but that may be what she's acting out.

Speaker 8 (01:58:28):
She's like, I know, I living in dog years here,
but these decorations for forever.

Speaker 2 (01:58:33):
I've told you all though. The weird thing. She will
back up, bark at me and growl at me. But
if I sit on the back porch in a chair,
she'll come up to me and let me better. Only
then any other time, I don't know what if I
trying to reach down to Petter. She bails balks at me.
But if I go sit in a chair, she'll come
up and six side. It's the weirdest Greg. If you

(01:58:53):
don't take down these decorations, I just want to let
you know I like this idea, but you're gonna have
to persevere through things like Easter and all that and
let it throw you. That's not not let it throw you. Yeah,
I'm not going to redecorate it freezer, just mix in
some Easter stuff. Top of the hour.

Speaker 1 (01:59:12):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Big Box Entertainment presents
The Rick Burgess Show with Speedy, Greg Burgess, Edie Van

(01:59:38):
Adler and Rick Burgess.

Speaker 2 (01:59:42):
And here we are again rolling to another hour. Thank

Uh so you can do that coming up, we think tomorrow.
I know we've been told this before. Try the streaming

(02:00:27):
services again tomorrow. For the last CD y'all run magazine
shut her down and way I was told that again
also there in the holiday break. Yeah, it was alrighty
right meetcha. Also the new podcast that came out last Saturday,

(02:00:47):
and we'll get another episode this Saturday, Rick and Bubba's
Greatest Hits of those historic moments for the thirty one
years of the Rick and Bubby Show. So that episode
two for that podcast out this weekend where wherever you
get podcasts. And some of you were saying, if we know,
you know Bubba is going to start doing a podcast
of his own, and when that is, I don't know.

(02:01:09):
I've seen some of the things posted. I think somewhere
around March maybe I think so. But anyway, once once
that's official, we'll certainly let you know that too. All right,
So as we start this hour, a couple of things
I do want to pass along from the text I'm
hearing from Mover and Shaker and Rick Burgess show syndicator

(02:01:30):
Bob Carey with syndicated solutions. He said, all these executive
orders I will pass along to you that this is helpful.
He said the website Whitehouse dot gov, white House dot
gov g o V. This is Trump's order that requires
the Secretary of the Interior to handle all the necessary

(02:01:53):
notices to world bodies and to make changes within the
US over the next thirty days, which will include go
off of America the same He's also renaming some mountain too,
Mountain Mountain.

Speaker 4 (02:02:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:02:07):
Anyway, he said. The website is very helpful because you
don't get the spin of the media. It just gives
you the facts when these things are going to happen.
So apparently, so if we can find out women, it's
gonna be goulf of what does that on me so much? Yeah?
When he just said it, I was kind of like, yeah,

(02:02:28):
and that's now I went on my list of things
that had to happen, right, Yeah. So Mount McKinley, Yeah,
that's it. Yeah, Ugger Mountain. Yeah, there you go. So yeah,
and you know, I tell you what's going to be
a hassles when he starts putting all those Civil War
monuments back. Fort Bragg's coming back today. I'll be putting
eleven Roberty leeves back in their place. This one's kind

(02:02:52):
of smashed.

Speaker 3 (02:02:53):
It's fine.

Speaker 2 (02:02:54):
We were able to remove the spray paint. So anyway, yeah,
I think that's the you're talking about. People are talking
about that is that is on the list to Mount
McKinley or whatever. All Right, So here's a bizarre story,
and it's a it's an unfortunately not a happy story,
but it's a bizarre story concerning a Georgia fire chief

(02:03:16):
who stopped to help a driver who had hit a
deer with their vehicle. And this story is just it's
just need more info. It's just bizarre. I'll just tell
you what the story says. A Georgia County fire chief
was fatally shot in Alabama after attempting to assist individuals

(02:03:39):
who had struck a deer while traveling, according to the police.
And then it goes gives the identification of the person.
But but here's what's odd. They said there was a
deer wreck. This is the Chambers County Chief Deputy Mike Parrish,
Chambers Counties in Alabama. A deer wreck. Huh la Fayette,

(02:04:02):
Oh you talking about where it was? Okay, so a
deer wreck, You pull up and three people are shot.
So apparently the fire chief is shot, but so were
the two people that hit the deer. Right, they're all
shot by by who? And then if you read later,
they have arrested somebody. So why, that's what I Why
would somebody shoot people? And where was he at? The shooter?

(02:04:25):
Where did he come from? We know the two people
that were also shot hit a deer. The fire chief
stopped to help. It didn't say three of them get
shot and he dies. The other two are still alive.

Speaker 6 (02:04:35):
And it didn't say if he was a buck or
a dough It doesn't. And it also doesn't say that
the deer was injured when they hit it. Could it
have been a hunter that wanted his deer?

Speaker 2 (02:04:43):
I'm rigging you.

Speaker 6 (02:04:48):
Yeah, So this decision to stop and help these two
people led to his death because somebody shot all three
of them in him fatally.

Speaker 2 (02:04:55):
Were they wonder the I don't know, I mean, because
did the guy have a beef with the driver or
he just didn't like he just saw three people he
wanted to kill. I mean, it doesn't make sense. No,
it doesn't because if he was if he had a
beef with him, he just happened to be following they
hit a deer. You know, I don't get it. They're
leaving out a lot of information. We're missing something here. Yeah,
like you said, scenario one, that's my deer. I had

(02:05:22):
shot it, and then y'all hit it with the car
and y'all trying to not let me have it. I
highly doubt that's it.

Speaker 8 (02:05:30):
I'm reading right here is that the fire chief and
the driver were unable to call for help due to
poor cell phone service in the area.

Speaker 2 (02:05:37):
That's true. That's true.

Speaker 3 (02:05:38):
So they decided to walk to a nearby home.

Speaker 2 (02:05:41):
Oh and that guy shot him and.

Speaker 8 (02:05:42):
Then invest investigators are alleging that Franklin, thirty three shot.

Speaker 2 (02:05:47):
Is that who they arrested?

Speaker 8 (02:05:49):
Yes, okay, they shot at Coffin, the fire chief and
the driver without warning as they approached the driveway of
the near.

Speaker 2 (02:05:58):
Okay, kind the third gay get shot?

Speaker 4 (02:06:01):
All right?

Speaker 2 (02:06:01):
It were they all three walking up there.

Speaker 6 (02:06:03):
So the man being helped that hit the deer, they
believe was armed and opened fire on the guy that
shot the fire chief.

Speaker 2 (02:06:12):
So there was return five. Yes, the driver was shot.

Speaker 3 (02:06:16):
Yes, the driver was armed. A return fire injured Franklin.

Speaker 2 (02:06:20):
All right, So let let's see we got this down.
So we got two guys in the deer. Am I
wrong there? It sounds like this is what happened. A
person hit the deer. Fire chief helps can't get sell service.
I guess the automobile may be needed to be told
or something. Maybe it was that damaged. We walked to
a nearby house. Person in the house kills fire chief, right,

(02:06:44):
the driver who was armed returns fire. And then maybe
and then that's is the third person the shooter.

Speaker 3 (02:06:51):
That's the three that you were dealing with.

Speaker 2 (02:06:52):
You, Yeah, that's makes more senas.

Speaker 3 (02:06:55):
One passed away. One was the homeowner shooter, one was
the deer hitter shooter.

Speaker 2 (02:07:00):
This makes a lot more thing I read they didn't identify.
They did him and two other people. They did. So
shooter shot at the fire chief sadly kills him because
he's approaching the property. And then the guy says, hey,
you just got shot at us. I'm shooting back, and
then there's gun fire between those two. Correct that it

(02:07:21):
everybody there, that's it. That's it, and and that's not
in the story.

Speaker 6 (02:07:24):
And it's sad reporting here because that was that's a
big deal. I thought they were sitting there trying to
load the deer up and driving by. So they're walking
up and they're saying the homeowner says that they're burglarized
all the time. But I mean, you just don't start
opening fire at somebody walking up.

Speaker 2 (02:07:41):
Oh no, no, no, that's wow.

Speaker 3 (02:07:45):
Yeah, that's make sure, make sure you clarify your target.
My goodness.

Speaker 2 (02:07:51):
Yeah. Well, I mean there probably were a lot of
break ins and everything, but as you said that, you
still got to know what you shoot. Well, look, hey,
i'm gonna tell you this right now.

Speaker 6 (02:07:58):
Last year, when Terry, Terry's dad passed away and we
went to go get the tractor and stuff, we had
the wrong I mean when we were walking up, Tommy
and David and we were all walking to haul it back,
and we were walking up the wrong driveway and we
didn't know it, and we and hey, let me tell
you us off in Georgia, okay, And we realized about

(02:08:21):
halfway up, we don't see the tractor, we don't see anything.
So we started talking out loud, hey if you're watching us,
and you're saying, we're good, and the guy ended up
coming out and I thought, old boy, you know, but
he quickly realized, hey, Yeah, you're you go.

Speaker 2 (02:08:35):
Around the corner and there it is.

Speaker 6 (02:08:36):
But you never know when you're walking up through some
of these houses what somebody's going to do.

Speaker 2 (02:08:40):
But you don't just start shooting him.

Speaker 8 (02:08:43):
Police arrived at the scene at five pm, so all
of this went down before five pm. Wow, so it
wasn't it wasn't midnight?

Speaker 2 (02:08:52):
Yeah, tap, all right, we'll be back for the rick
Bord just show coming up. Product to this.

Speaker 1 (02:09:00):
This is the Rick Burgers Show. We talked to the

(02:09:24):
public every day and trust us, you should be gravely concerned.
The Rick Burgers Show.

Speaker 2 (02:09:34):
Let's go. We're with you again for another day and
we'll give you a chance to chat. Coming up, probably
bottom of the hour. We'll do that. So if you're
looking for the next opportunity to contact us by phone,
you can, but of course you got the text option
rolling all the time, and you can email us or
you can contact us. By the way, speaking of that,

(02:09:56):
did you ever hear any more speedy? I didn't. I
check to my voy I smell yesterday and I didn't.
I didn't hear from Larry or Carolyn out of Dublin, Georgia,
whether they got their po boxship. I have not heard either. Yeah,
I haven't heard. We were getting it. Well, that was
that was a suggestion that Larry made, but I had

(02:10:18):
to had to just say no.

Speaker 6 (02:10:19):
We did get some emails that some patches are being
sent to you to get to them.

Speaker 2 (02:10:23):
Oh great, yeah, but we don't. Please don't send us
patches for them when Greg send them to Greg and
he'll take care of Greg. Here you go. I thought
the treaty. I thought the treaty was off right. Okay, yeah,
I'll get you back, all right, So let's see game on. Okay, Well,
we were just discussing field of greens. Uh really were

(02:10:45):
We were having a field of greens discussion here and
and they have changed the container and the container feels
like there's more in there. I agree. It just like
when chips look like the bags big. Well, but Speedy
says that. Speedy says, and you know he's keeping it
to the letter that how long, how long it's lasting,
And he said it's lasting up to he needs another
one now and sometime he's lasting a little long. Yeah,

(02:11:08):
we love field of greens and I know a lot
of us coming off. Hey, we had a look, we
got off nutrition a little bit. It's back. Now we
got to have it. Here's the good news is, if
you're like us, you probably don't get in the nutrition
that has been recommended scientifically for a very long time
about fruits and vegetables. I actually heard a doctor on
another commercial that was talking about He said, you know,

(02:11:32):
you can tell your patients this all day long, but
it's like trying to drag a mule to water when
he doesn't want it. It doesn't matter. And so the
beautiful thing is field of greens. It makes sure that
the fruits and vegetables and the right fruits and vegetables
that are vital for our body to operate at peak efficiency,
are we that our body gets them every single day.

(02:11:54):
And I love it a lot of you. I had
somebody the other day to any fruit juices really work
well with this? Now watch you sugar, but they work
well with that. I tell you, orange juice. I use
it all the time. Protein shakes just mixing in with
that works great. They got different flavors. Find the ones
you like. But these are the fruits and vegetables that
are for the heart, for the lungs, for the kidneys.

(02:12:18):
Even when you think about your immune system and your
at your peak health. Taking on viruses and other bacterial infections.
They're just a part of life. I mean, you can't
hide away. And of course some of you, you foolishly think
that mask is helping. But right now go to Fieldofgreens
dot com get twenty percent off and you're gonna love
this products. One of the best products I've ever endorsed

(02:12:40):
and ever taken. The impact has been so obvious. They're
so confident that it will help your health that if
your doctor doesn't see any results, they'll give you money back.
So the code is big vox, or you can just
use our link at Rick Burgess show dot com. If
you're not using Field of Greens, do yourself a favor.
I'm serious, and start as soon as possible fildogreens dot com.

(02:13:02):
The promo code big vox twenty. All right, So other
things that we what are you laughing at over sick?
Can you not behave? People?

Speaker 6 (02:13:12):
They're like, hey, you talking about that bizarre and very
sad story. No, And so now people are going have
you heard about this one? Or have you heard about
this one? And the one they sent that I just missed,
but apparently an Alabama Starbucks somebody was going through and
a monkey jumped out of the window, through the drive

(02:13:34):
through window and.

Speaker 2 (02:13:35):
Attacked the from a car into the drive Yeah, it looks.

Speaker 6 (02:13:39):
Like somebody a barista and mobile needed stitches and vaccinations.
Earlier this month, after a monkey jumped through the drive
through window, climbed up her arm and bitter.

Speaker 2 (02:13:49):
Oh wait a minute, you're okay. When you first said it,
I thought the monkey jumped out of the Starbucks drive
through window. No, no, jump out was pretty good up
to that point. Did Was he angry at the tipping?

Speaker 5 (02:14:00):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (02:14:01):
I mean, so there's a Starbucks employee that got bitten
by a monkey that jumped out of a vehicle it
through the window.

Speaker 2 (02:14:09):
And bitter. You know, when you think of working in
a restaurant or this type situation that doesn't play, you
think of ways you can get hurt monkey diving from
drive through them into the windows. Not well, this goes
back to that complaint that I've had as long as
I've been speaking into microphones about you exotic you exotic
pet people. Come on, man, I don't understand you exotic

(02:14:30):
pet people. I don't understand this through a ride, y'all.
Go on, and I guess if you want to do
it in your own life. We'll leave you alone. Please
don't bring it into our life. Why somebody got a
monkey riding gun? Just have a dog, guys, this is
going to put y'all hair.

Speaker 6 (02:14:44):
So the Starbucks employee, who asked to remain anonymous, sustained
bites to her hands, lacerations around her ear. Well, they'll
attack that head, won't They will, requiring stitches. Well, another
employee was able to pull the monkey off the the
co worker, and then the monkey escaped, jumped out the
drive through window back into the customer's vehicle, and the

(02:15:07):
customer drove away.

Speaker 2 (02:15:08):
He knows what, he knows, what's gonna have that monkey?
Or she knows whatever.

Speaker 8 (02:15:12):
Can't believe this, but I think this is a real picture.
This is from the news story. There's the monkey in
the window. Please look it's Aunt Martha.

Speaker 2 (02:15:21):
Oh my goodness. Monkey.

Speaker 3 (02:15:25):
I think that this is from the news story.

Speaker 2 (02:15:27):
And I think that that's not a monkey? Is it that?
That looks like that is a monkey? You sure about that? Yeah?

Speaker 10 (02:15:33):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (02:15:33):
Look what's that thing? The monkeys there? Gibbons? There's a gibbon?
Is a monkey? Right? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (02:15:39):
It's a kind of.

Speaker 6 (02:15:41):
Merkat, They say, it's a night or what they call
a knight or owl monkey.

Speaker 2 (02:15:45):
Okay, a night monkey, yeah, atis monkeys monkey? Oh my goodness,
So that thing. I've never even know anybody have one
of those as a pet. Somebody give me back my
little by monkey. So that dove through the window, yeah,
and bid everybody, and bid everybody, then got back in

(02:16:06):
the car with its owner and left. Must have been
in coffee beans. But again, who's got a monkey riding gun?
You don't go out? I mean, it's one thing is bizarre.
Wait a minute, so she drives off? Obviously they they
she Did she come back? Or do they pull her over?

(02:16:26):
How does the story ends? The store without ending?

Speaker 6 (02:16:29):
Mobile Animal Services contacted the employee the same day, and
the health department, of course is contact.

Speaker 2 (02:16:36):
Of course they have.

Speaker 6 (02:16:36):
And and it says here that they are looking into
the matter. Mobile County Health officers are now involved, and
apparently the night or owl monkey had a detailed health
history and was evaluated by a specialist veterinarian. The monkey
was determined not to have any illnesses. According to the information.

(02:16:58):
There could be some fines of of not restraining animals,
of course, and stuff like that, but I guess maybe
that they know because of the health examinations of the
monkey that it wasn't carrying anything.

Speaker 2 (02:17:10):
So she was the monkey was up to date on
all of its shots and all that. So we have
got the owner, we've got the monkey, we've cleared the
monkey medically, and now we're just in trouble for not
having the monkey restrained.

Speaker 6 (02:17:22):
Yeah, and the injuries it calls which call it carries
like a twenty five dollars fine.

Speaker 2 (02:17:26):
Twenty five dollars. They were going to do this monkey.
You just bet my ear off, you know, see I
think this one. Yeah. Anyway, when you when you think
about though, you can't twenty five dollars after your monkey
biting people's ears, cutting people up, running wild twenty five

(02:17:47):
bucks when that person woke up to go to work,
they had no idea monkey was going to bite them.

Speaker 3 (02:17:52):
That lady. No, not a song with monkeys. I'm reading
right here. This lady the owner.

Speaker 8 (02:17:56):
She posts pictures on her social media having different monkeys,
and to me, they need it.

Speaker 1 (02:18:01):

Chuck Hooton, I should say, providing Hell Georgia. Love that one.
And Chuck Hooton providing worship. There are still tickets that
remain general mission tickets, maybe a few hundred of those.
And because we got a really big room holds about
a little over two thousand. And then because we had

(02:19:18):
some guys move their tickets to the Atlanta conference that
was going to turned out to work out better for them.
It opened up some early access tickets and all of
those are gone now but one. So if you're going

So on that note, I was, I was, have you

(02:20:02):
ever just had like a phrase that someone said and
you're like, I haven't heard that phrase in a really,
really long time. So we do that. Yeah, you do
that Greg in this one and see if I have
what this what this memory creates in you? This this word.

(02:20:23):
So we we we've had some well I guess I
don't know what in the world's going on with the mail, okay,
the male, I don't. I know. It may be a
combination of things, whether Yeah, but we've heard that, federal holidays,
those all comps. You know, Just it just for some reason,

(02:20:47):
me sending something to someone when it when it at
one time took forty eight hours, is now taking eight days,
you know what I mean? Like I'll ask people, hey,
did you get that? Because you know we do it.
We do. You know, when the speakers go out, like
for the Man Church, you know, we we make sure
those speakers are taken care of. So we're we're sending

(02:21:09):
checks a lot to whatever speaker went out. Here's your
travel expenses, here's here's your honorarium. Uh and and like
a lot of times I'll be like, how did it go?
Hey went great? Hey did you get your check? No?
I still got it. And I'm like, really, now about
the time I'm about to cancel the check, they'll send
me a picture of Hey got it today. I'm like, well,
how long does it take to get and so?

Speaker 10 (02:21:31):
So?

Speaker 2 (02:21:32):
Then so you really don't have any days to waste. Well,
now I'm getting to the point, and I know this
is a little bit outdated, but I tried to do
this with with the power bill and and was unsuccessful.
I tried to set it up. I just somebody. I
couldn't make it work of all the you know paying
online automatic, Yeah, the automatic. So I'm still sending well,

(02:21:53):
I'm at the point now where a they're already sending
me text saying you know, your power bill is due
in five days and I don't even have it yet.
And then all of a sudden it shows up. It
took forever and now I'm trying to turn it around
and get it back to them before a late fee
or something like that. So so, and I will say
this our mailbox, because of these memrods, it has been

(02:22:19):
we used to get knocked down all the time. So
we had to do like a lot of people and
build you know, like a stone covering around our mailbox,
a monument. So some idiot runs over this time they're
they're still sitting at the end of your driveway, you know.
And and so there's not a flag. We never really
found out a way to make the flag work. But
that's been that way for probably fifteen years. Not a

(02:22:43):
new problem, no, And so the they're all they still
just if mail's in there, they take it, and then
they put mail in there every day. It's never been
no one's ever said we need a flag from you
because I have mail every day. So they just open
it and there's mail in there that we're sending out.
They take it. Never been a problem. So we we
already know we've had ice problems that shut down even

(02:23:04):
though Burmham didn't get any Still not sure why we
didn't do. And then but they had, but they had
to prepare. Then we have Martin Luther King JUNI your day, okay,
don't forget the day of morning. We have that morning again.
By the way, they're for a month. I told you
about the Canadians on my street. They still have their
flags at half mass for some reason. I don't know
if this is Jimmy Carter. They're sad about Trump. I

(02:23:25):
don't know what it is, but they've been there, you know,
who knows, who knows. But but anyway, you know, I
have a they have a Canadian flag and American flag
in the yard and they I heard the official big Pope.
I've seen that. If you're going to have nice flag,
I mean, that's a that's a big time. How do
you feel about this new campaign where Ontario keeps reassuring

(02:23:45):
us they're there for us. Have you seen this car
from Ontario where you're where your neighbor to the north,
we got you covered. We're standing with you. They're afraid
of They afraid Trump's about to make them first day
all right, But anyway, so yesterday we've been waiting on
mail for the entire week and then it all just

(02:24:05):
a big mob of it just came in from all
these days. Okay, Well I go to get it out,
and all of a sudden, as I'm getting it out,
I look and I see like not stuff addressed to
us you were sending and I go, oh my gosh,
this is the mail we were sending out. So I
go in. I said, you can believe this, I said,
the mail person just took the new mail, just laying

(02:24:27):
on top of the mail were just sending out. Didn't
even take it. M and then and then, all of
a sudden, unsuspecting, my wife uses a phrase but I
can't remember the last time I've heard. She goes, what's
wrong with that numb skull? And I was like, numbskull?
I remember, hadn't heard schull? Okay? Was it? Was it?

(02:24:49):
Sergeant Carter's that's it? See you did it. I was
going to ask you what that reminded me of. I said, sure,
did you watch gumer Pine think he was when you
were a kid? And she goes, well, yeah, yeah, I
guess I did. I said, that's where you got n
And I said, I haven't heard anybody whose numbs what
the funny show? What's wrong with that numb skull, and
I was like, wow, numbskull a minute, Yeah you think

(02:25:10):
almost are you?

Speaker 4 (02:25:12):
Look?

Speaker 2 (02:25:12):
I started throwing it around. Yeah, I threw it around.
I thought I kind of like it. Yeah, you know,
it's been on the shelf a little while. So we've
had it in storage, hike Greg Christmas decorations and so
how do y'all think about this again? I like, what
a numbskull? It has been a long time. Well, and
then and then there's this, and then and I will
say that I did it. She said, Rick, some of

(02:25:34):
that stuff's got to go. Uh, you need you to
take you to drive down the post office. She said,
you've got a post office office right by your Now,
this is the one I love. Only these conversations happened
between husbands and watch. Uh there their little world. God
loved them, that little world they live in. And she says,
you need to take that to that post office near
the office. I said, no, I'll take it to the office.

(02:25:56):
I don't have a problem with that. I'm just going
to put in the outgoing mall from the building. Don't know,
don't put it in there. Why I just don't feel
good about that. Is that safe? Is it safe? Honey,
the same mail people that's gonna take it across the street,
eliminate steps, and she goes, I know, I want you
to take it to the post office. I said, there
is a place right outside my office where i'm the mailroom.

(02:26:20):
I'll arrive at work and I'll walk up to the
mail room and I'll put it out going mail. No.
I got to explain that to him again. What I mean,
can anybody just don't feel good? I said, do you
think I'm setting it down on in a basket out
there for the whole building? I said that it goes
inside one of those sloughts, just like the post office.
I would rather you not do that. And so then

(02:26:43):
I realized, if I do it, I'm going to come
home and she's gonna ask me a direct question. If
I dec I don't want to lie. So I was
sitting over the post office this morning. Stuff that got
to get out. I thought it was a drive up
the drive.

Speaker 3 (02:26:56):
Where's the driver?

Speaker 2 (02:26:57):
You gotta walk it? What not? Skull moved. I bet
if she yeah, I bet if you told her you
used the outside, she would go, why don't you walk
into the inside. I feel better about it, You know
when you go in. Said do you think everybody in
the building can go get get Well, I mean, what
is I said, It's a slot. Nobody can get it
but the mail person. And so when I drove up

(02:27:19):
this morning, I thought I would drive through, and I thought, well,
now now the now some numbs call didn't have to
drive through. So I will tell you this what I did.
And it was freezing. It was again, you know, in
in the low twenties. So what I did is I
took my shirt off, got out.

Speaker 18 (02:27:33):
And put it where did I said, we heard numbs gonna.

Speaker 2 (02:27:46):
File with the numbs gone? Well, uh, by the way,
I did say that. Extra I said, the mail's less
safe out there in our mailbox than it isn't that
outdooring mail at the building. We'll be back, all right,
I'm more after this.

Speaker 1 (02:28:03):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Only in America. Could
these four men do this for a living God bless America.
This is the Wick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (02:28:24):
And then and then all right, we're back, thanks for
being with us. So everybody, I just saw super time
the engineer. Everybody that I say, if I said numskull,
what would you think of? They're all saying. Gomer Papa.
They're all saying, Sergeant Carter, Sergeant the Great, Sergeant Carter Carter.

(02:28:46):
Did that guy ever going to be anything else? But
he was her? Sergeant Carter, the greatest.

Speaker 1 (02:28:56):
Let me again, I love it.

Speaker 2 (02:28:59):
Pie out. Oh gosh, we want to don't how you
do that?

Speaker 3 (02:29:05):
You don't want to hear him say, oh yeah, you.

Speaker 2 (02:29:07):
Got a numscull, you knuckle ahead.

Speaker 1 (02:29:12):
I's not you, you numscull, your la How could you
pull that, your boneheaded stunt of all the knuckleheaded things
that they would if that had been a light grenade.

Speaker 2 (02:29:20):
I'm sorry, Sergeant car I don't know how in the
world I could have done the fine life. I well, literally, because.

Speaker 1 (02:29:26):
You're stupid, stupid, super stupid.

Speaker 2 (02:29:29):
Be not mad about that. So he worked in knuckle
ahead and skull. But it's good, by the way, good.
That's you know, to remind me of Dad skull. That
is funny. All right. So a couple of moments that

(02:29:50):
happened yesterday. Uh so ce An n you know, seeing
An's had some issues, God love them. And not a
lot of ratings, not a lot of ratings, And the
only people have worse ratings And CNN is m S
NBC uh so. Uh so, this is going to be
Jim Acosta talking with congress Congressman Tim you say Burchett

(02:30:14):
or Burchett Burchette. Yeah. So, so listen to this exchange
in this little bit of shut up juice that takes
place right here. So here we go. It's covered on
CEN on what you're saying this is.

Speaker 3 (02:30:27):
This is not Fox, Congressman.

Speaker 2 (02:30:29):
You can't just spin a tail and pull the wool
out of people's eyes.

Speaker 3 (02:30:32):
This is CNN.

Speaker 2 (02:30:33):
This is the news we're at and tell the truth.
And that's why more people are watching the cartoon network
SpongeBob reruns right now.

Speaker 1 (02:30:41):
Jim, Oh, let's.

Speaker 8 (02:30:52):
See the crawl at the beginning at the bottom of
that screen. Violent capitol writers and far right militia leaders
set free by Trump.

Speaker 2 (02:31:00):
It's all in the all in the presentation. And it
so once again, Uh, by the way, I had forgotten
how bizarre Tim Kaine was. Uh, I completely forget about it.
I had forgotten how bizarre he was. So now.

Speaker 3 (02:31:16):
You know, and and Tim Walls and Tim Kaine.

Speaker 19 (02:31:19):
There are a couple of times, but when you you know,
just like you just said about the krawl Adler, the
left and their hyperbole and they're just everything end of time.

Speaker 2 (02:31:32):
Uh. So listen to the j six pardons. Uh. Senator
Tim Kaine is going to refer to them as an abomination.
So here we are the.

Speaker 17 (02:31:42):
January sixth partons are an abomination.

Speaker 3 (02:31:45):
And then here's here's an interesting one.

Speaker 17 (02:31:47):
President Trump is the only president in the history of
the United States that vetoed the Defense Bill. He vetoed
the Defense fell in twenty twenty. Why why did he
veto the defense spelling?

Speaker 2 (02:31:55):
But you know two text the wall.

Speaker 17 (02:32:00):
He vetoed the Defense Bill because he didn't like taking
Confederate names.

Speaker 1 (02:32:04):
Off military basis.

Speaker 3 (02:32:06):
He said it was a rewriting of history.

Speaker 17 (02:32:07):
One of his first actions yesterday he ordered the portrait
of General Milly removed from the wall of portraits of
heads of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Speaker 3 (02:32:16):
I guess he's okay with rewriting history.

Speaker 2 (02:32:18):
How were his forehead?

Speaker 3 (02:32:25):
Yeah? Also, Mark Milly sold us out to the Chinese,
So there's that with all.

Speaker 8 (02:32:31):
Also, Tim Kaine's son stormed the Minnesota capital UH in
a riot in twenty seventeen. He set off the explosive
devices and tear gas and he fought the police. Tim
Kaine's son, the guy that was just talking. Tim Kaine's
son did not do any jail time because his dad
is a Democrat senator.

Speaker 2 (02:32:48):
Wow, well they just dropped that moc in there, mister
alt Adler, and walk on back to wherever you came.

Speaker 3 (02:32:52):
From and save your emails. That's not me, that's Tim
Kaine's son in the mugshot.

Speaker 2 (02:32:56):
Yeah, oh Adler.

Speaker 3 (02:32:58):
Oh there's a ad We look similar.

Speaker 2 (02:33:00):
Yeah, if he has a van, probably not Video five.
Video five. You know we talked about earlier Hannity talking
with Trump in the one on one. We did that
earlier in the show today if you missed that, and
they were and we were talking about, you know, the
there's been two attempts on Trump's life. One of them
actually got the shot off and just missed by one

(02:33:22):
eighth of an inch. So Ben Carson was and this
was a story at one time that was readily available.
He'll tell you this in history books. And it was
removed the first time that I read it. I don't
recall it in school because it must have been removed
even before my era in school. But I was reading
a book, believe it or not, about America and the
faith foundation of a lot of the founding Fathers. And

(02:33:47):
it was actually Toby Mack that that gave the first
time I read the story about how General Washington, when
he was still with the British, was supernaturally spared in
a battle where by all accounts he had been shot
more than one time and only had a few holes
in his jacket and no bullets and one time. We

(02:34:09):
used to have that in our history books. We don't
need more. But here's Ben Carson talking about this American
historical moment that did happen but has tried to be
removed from our history.

Speaker 3 (02:34:21):
But go ahead, and this is from the George Jenco show. Yeah,
which I've never heard of, but it's a courtesy of
that show. Here's Ben Carson, the bluetpoot President.

Speaker 7 (02:34:28):
Yeah, you know, George Washington was a courier for General Bradnote,
one of the English generals during the French and Indian War.
All of the couriers were killed and Washington had two
horses shot from beneath him, and he had four bullet
holes in his jacket, but no flesh ones. He had
bullet fragments in his hair, no flesh ones. Many years
later he still hadn't become president yet, but he was

(02:34:50):
back in the area, and one of the Indian chiefs
who had been involved was elderly at that point, near death.
He said to his braves, take me to see this man.
I must see him before it. And when they brought
him in the presence of Washington, he said, sir, I'm
an expert marks man, and I shot you seventeen times,
and my men shot you.

Speaker 2 (02:35:10):
I'm pretty soon.

Speaker 7 (02:35:10):
I told him to stop wastingni billets, and I just
wanted to meet the man who was protected by the
great presence of That story used to be in all
of our history books until it became politically incorrect.

Speaker 1 (02:35:25):
Why was it politically incorrect?

Speaker 2 (02:35:27):
God, I'm not liking the double so and we all
wish Being would be good.

Speaker 8 (02:35:33):
But I mean, if he's drinking coffee but it's not working,
double up on whatever you got in that cup.

Speaker 3 (02:35:38):
Friend.

Speaker 2 (02:35:39):
I have a lot of respect for Being. Like Being
was all in on Ben. I voted it even r
I voted for him too in the primary. I'm more
weight till my alarm goes off. Yeah, but it's I
can't imagine. You know what I was doing. You know
what I was doing here right then? This is how
much when he's talking. I started potting up pots like
I can control his mic and I couldn't. Good. Yeah,

(02:35:59):
I started him more volume something help you need to
try and impression. Hey, he's a chill guy, you chill man.

Speaker 3 (02:36:07):
He is a I could use.

Speaker 2 (02:36:09):
Some of that. I wonder even when he becomes an
old man and we're like stealing plungs from his tree.
If we were little boys, he would go, all right, guys,
get out of my trees. Now, you know, I mean,
does he ever does he ever elevate all you out
there have been lying about me, and I'm not going
to tolerate another second. But no, that that story was
in our history books, and He's right, it was. It

(02:36:29):
was removed it And how about that that chief was
like I got to see this guy. I mean, we
we shot you so many times and nothing would work.
And so there there was a time when we would
openly talk about those things, but it was inconvenient to
a narrative, so it was taken out of the history books.
So well, and I and I do all kidding aside,

(02:36:51):
and you're you're right at or I'm not saying that
that's not a big deal. That with the Chinese and
all that. But I'm not a big revisionist of history.
The good, the bad, the ugly. We need to be
told and then we can make our own decisions on
how we feel about it. But I don't like when
we pretend things didn't happen that did happen, because how
am I ever going to learn about them? And how

(02:37:12):
am I even gonna make sure that we don't repeat
those things again? If I'm told that there's certain things
that I can't even be exposed to. And so a
good point. Rude. So there you go. All right, it's
top of the hour. A lot of you are leaving.
Maybe I don't know if you got to get to somewhere.

for it. Greg, I mean when you look at where
we are in our lives now, and you know, we
unpack our lives right here. So we're sitting here. We

(02:40:17):
do have our youngster, the young man that is being mentored. Sadly,
it appears by Greg, you have one Eddie Van Adler.
There he is. He's rocking thirty nine, is all right?

Speaker 3 (02:40:28):
Yeah, thirty nine, I'm a man.

Speaker 2 (02:40:30):
Thirty nine, Greg, you're rocking. Fifty eight? Yeah, okay, right, yes,
Speedy fifty six, fifty six. I had to think, I
think you're fifty seven.

Speaker 4 (02:40:41):
I think so.

Speaker 2 (02:40:42):
I think so. Then you have a birthday in December. Yeah,
I think that was fifty seven.

Speaker 1 (02:40:46):
Are you sure?

Speaker 2 (02:40:47):
No, I think I'm fifty six. I think he's fifty nine.
What so you're fifty eight? Uh so?

Speaker 3 (02:40:56):
Gary? How old was Gary when he had a son.

Speaker 2 (02:41:02):
Hey, I mean, hey, I was married at seventeen. Let
me let me Terry and ask her how old? I am? Okay,
what the bottom line is other than Adler, we're not
We're not young anymore, you know. And and there's certain
things Greg, I'm afraid that. I think once you reach
a certain age plus fifty, it's over. And and one

(02:41:26):
of those is eating it Crystal. Are you serious? Yeah?
I mean I was just I was just shocked. I mean,
what are you doing eating at Crystal? You hadn't had
in a while. You were telling me a minute ago.
He just casually he was like, you know, we had
crystal Is in a long time. Yeah. He was telling
us about you know, one of the things some of
them look kind of nasty. Yeah, one of the things
that we're Greg, Okay, well, I'm glad the discussion we

(02:41:49):
had in the break didn't seem to matter. You were
the one trying to show restraint, which was weird, strange
kind of after but said some But we were talking
about we were talking about all the bang up services
out there with an awful service. Yeah, right, it was
it was it was it was like I was bothering

(02:42:10):
her that I ordered something. I thought y'all's goal was
to sell product. Well, excuse me, I've disrupted your day
by buying a burger for being a customer. Yeah, sometimes
sometimes it seems to upset some of our brothers and
sisters that this may cause them to look up from
their phone. Yeah, I hate you actually have to go
back here and drop something in that grease? Yeah, but
what's I don't I'm missing what's wrong? Fiftystal? I gotta

(02:42:34):
go back. You can't. You don't have the gut for
that anymore. You need to be eating healthy. You need
to be taking care of yourself. How many four?

Speaker 3 (02:42:43):
You ate?

Speaker 2 (02:42:44):
Four crystals? Fifty eight? Are you even here? Normally? I
would you know? And back in the day I ate
about fifteen? How bad did that mess you up? Didn't
bother me at all? Somebody said they quit it forty one.
I didn't know. There's age limit on Christal, there is
you and I'm skull. I didn't know. Or Jeez Fries
out of your shaking hands with danger. I know, look

(02:43:05):
at them, little son of guns. No, look it's a
good product. Now you want good service? But no, I
don't know. Seriously, I've had bad service, but and it
wasn't so much the service. They got it done. But
I mean no, I mean no conversation. I mean again,
I act like she was mad that I actually how
dare me show up and speaking that speaker in order something.
What I'm saying, though, Greg, is these days are over.

(02:43:27):
You you you you've you've aged out of Crystal? Is good?
I know, But did you pay price? No? Did were
you handle ordering? Did you like hold automated a minute? Yeah?
Give me two number one? Two? Why can't you just
order ford one order? That's the different thing. Well, you
need what's two number one? You get two fries too? No?

Speaker 4 (02:43:47):
Better?

Speaker 2 (02:43:48):
Not if you put a corn pup in there, you
got problems. Lisa got some of them. I ended up
eating most of hers. Okay, so one of those Lee
shaking hands with Danny danger. Look, we decided we're going
to try Crystal.

Speaker 9 (02:43:59):
Now.

Speaker 2 (02:44:00):
It was like it was like nostalgia, Greig. I remember
when I turned a certain age. I just put a
line through Crystal. You can't do it anymore. You can't.
I didn't know that. Yeah, I mean, there's there's it.
Knew I should have went to Freddy's what's next. You're
gonna have some hot wing eating contests? Now, you and
the guys on Tuesday night? What are you thinking? Acted
about me going? I believe, let me tell you, but

(02:44:22):
I didn't think any of us square is good. I
didn't think any of us ever would say the following phrase.
I went by Crystal. You know, in some reason, I
never want the double.

Speaker 3 (02:44:30):
I see, I'm all about the double.

Speaker 2 (02:44:33):
What you go to Crystal? He's thirty nine, he's thirty nine,
he can go. He's clear. You know you're right at it.
I bet the double is maybe the way I think
you don't mess with. You got to stay with the classes.
If you're too old to wear your hat backwards, you
can't go. Guys, I didn't realize. I've never looked at Crystal.

Speaker 3 (02:44:47):
What's that?

Speaker 8 (02:44:47):
What's the what's the age limit on Taco Bell? That's ant,
But guys, it's an age limit on Crystal. There's an
age limit on talking.

Speaker 1 (02:44:58):
Now.

Speaker 2 (02:45:00):
I'm sorry. I've had Taco Look, I've gone to Taco
Bell and felt that food welcoming me, even almost saying,
thank goodness, he didn't go to Crystal. You know what.

Speaker 3 (02:45:10):
This way, I don't.

Speaker 8 (02:45:11):
I don't agree the views expressed by The Rick Burgess
Show and its staff do not necessarily reflect the views
of any man.

Speaker 2 (02:45:18):
Let me tell you something, Let me tell you, let
me tell you this. I just know you age out
on certain things, certain foods you age out on.

Speaker 3 (02:45:25):
Y'all.

Speaker 2 (02:45:26):
Look, you're saying I don't love a crystal. I love
a crystal. I just can't eat them anymore. You know
what it is in little cooked onions? Yeah, about which
I never I never. I always loved it, But there
was times I thought to myself, why didn't they make
the effort to put some ketchup on it? I know
where you have to dump it out and dip it,
and I don't want to do that. All right, I'm
confused as as far as what somebody give up ten

(02:45:48):
years and that's the smallest amount of mustard I've ever
seen on anything.

Speaker 8 (02:45:51):
What other foods are you're not after you become a man.

Speaker 2 (02:45:54):
Well, there's certain things you just stopped doing that. You
think I'm down at Del Taco now at two am
knocking it back. No, oh, okay, yeah, okay, I'm not sure.
By the way, I've always preferred to Dell Taco over
Taco Bell. There is I said, crazy. They bought him
out of something. I know. Well, that's sometimes I'll travel
to other parts of the country. You just eat it

(02:46:15):
about a sucker? Can I have a sucker as a
man and adult man charms? If you're going to I
wouldn't sit here near Greg.

Speaker 6 (02:46:23):
Yeah, the bank offers you a sucker, turn it down
if your kids aren't.

Speaker 2 (02:46:28):
You ever had? Of course, nobody does the drive through
any more because we all have figured out how to deposit,
you know, without doing it. But if you go through
a drive through, have you ever been like grown and
all you look down there's a sucker in there. That's
kind of that's kind of a lot of a mind game,
you know. I wonder from behind there the tail goes
to see if he takes it. And I think the
same thing when I think that when you drove off.
Of course this person probably didn't even never saw you,

(02:46:51):
but I think there was somebody behind me. Go God,
if if a person, if a person had seen you
drive off, they probably looked at you and says, we'll
never see that old man again. I bet you it
was because of his age. I don't know better it was.
We eat there about everything about Yeah, how fast if
you're a fast eater, how fast did you get those

(02:47:12):
four little they disappear like popcorn? Should we be able
to eat a grilled onion? And I'll be honest, I'm
not sure what that meat is. Who cares?

Speaker 3 (02:47:24):
That's not really it's air quotes me.

Speaker 2 (02:47:27):
You can't have meet that. Phone calls coming up next.

Speaker 1 (02:47:32):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Okay, are you ready

(02:47:53):

Speaker 9 (02:48:02):

Speaker 2 (02:48:03):

Speaker 2 (02:49:46):

Speaker 15 (02:49:49):
I'm curious what did Greg's true love get them.

Speaker 4 (02:49:52):
For the forty first day of Christmas today? Think you
gotta be running.

Speaker 2 (02:49:56):
Out ideas on the forty it's.

Speaker 10 (02:49:59):
Twelve days, ag, Chris was not twelve weeks, man.

Speaker 2 (02:50:02):

few hours ago. Let it roll now you could avoid
taking him down and putting him up for one full sycle.
Not a bad idea. Uh, let's go to Gorge in
the great state of Montana. Hey, coach, coach.

Speaker 10 (02:50:21):
Rick, how are you doing today, buddy?

Speaker 2 (02:50:22):
Hey, coach Hey.

Speaker 10 (02:50:26):
Just want to call in today. It's his coach of
rock rolling head football coach. And I let to other
not a clue Bible college. I wanted to Uh sad
day at not a clue Bible college. Rick had to
announce my retirement from coaching. I'm the father of the
Pilgo Formation offense.

Speaker 11 (02:50:46):
Uh.

Speaker 10 (02:50:47):
This n IO fingers driven me into into retirement. Rick,
I'm here to tell you my strategy on the NIO
just didn't work.

Speaker 2 (02:50:54):
What was that coach?

Speaker 10 (02:50:58):
I sent out naked pictures of my wife?

Speaker 2 (02:51:00):
All right, all right, that's on me. I knew that
bit was going nowhere, and I thought I hung in
there for him, and and you know, I gotta go
with my instinct. You know, are you okay? No?

Speaker 10 (02:51:15):
No, I'm not.

Speaker 2 (02:51:16):
I'm not.

Speaker 6 (02:51:17):
I'm telling you sitting here, I can't I can't vapor,
I can't get out.

Speaker 2 (02:51:21):
I'm stuck. Jerry and Tennessee. Jerry, go ahead, Hey, Rick,
love the new show. Thank you, it's amazing you guys
doing great.

Speaker 4 (02:51:31):
Quick story.

Speaker 2 (02:51:32):
I work at a bank.

Speaker 5 (02:51:33):
A guy came through the drive through with a couple
of those big long hair pretty dogs, you know, and
they and so so there was. The tailors sent out
treats for the dogs, and uh, he sent three and
the guy said, why'd you send three treats? He said,

(02:51:55):
well for those three pretty dogs.

Speaker 4 (02:51:58):
And the lady leaned up.

Speaker 2 (02:52:00):
It wasn't it was his wife. Oh, don't say that, Jerry.
You ononly have two dogs, man, No that the teller
just locked up. The tailor locked up. You could see
that didn't happen. Please, Jerry say that didn't happen? Is
for real? No, no bull happened. I saw it. See

(02:52:24):
this is a hard day. Yeah, we got no band.
Randy and Huntsville Randy. Go ahead.

Speaker 4 (02:52:31):
Hey, good morning, gentlemen.

Speaker 2 (02:52:32):
How are you'all? We're good, We're good.

Speaker 15 (02:52:34):
Hey, love the new show. But real quick if you
got I know you probably covered this already, but just
checking in with you. Man, what was your thoughts on
the so called bishop's uh speech at the prayer breakfast
or sermon excuse me.

Speaker 2 (02:52:45):
Yeah, we we talked about it yesterday. You may have
missed it, but I really we said exactly. I forget
what is the pastor's name that that also spoke at
Trump's inauguration. Uh. And and he did the prayer and
it was outstanding. I can't think of his name. But anyway,
he was on Fox last night and he said the
same thing we did. He said, how sad is it

(02:53:08):
for somebody to claim to be standing in a church,
a church with the opportunity that that preachers and evangelists
everywhere would beg for an opportunity to speak to the
leader of the free world and the entire country and
have an opportunity to point all of them to redemption

(02:53:30):
in Jesus Christ. And you get up there and Babylon
about a bunch of social issues. And I mean he
was saying, you know, he said that he stayed in
there afterwards and begin to pray over that place because
he said it was she was a heretic, it was heresy.
Uh And it was sickening. H And I thought he

(02:53:51):
did a great job with that, and and and walked
through the scriptures on everything that she was violating. It
was I forget it, Lorenzo Lorenzo. Yeah, and he basically
said the same thing we had said, but then added
to it and did a great job.

Speaker 6 (02:54:04):
And she's the bishop has been on a media tour
here and has she's not apologizing, she's doubling down.

Speaker 2 (02:54:10):
Well, she's got bigger problems than conservatives and Donald Trump.
She's got a much bigger problem with that.

Speaker 4 (02:54:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:54:17):
His name is the beginning in the end, I am yep. Uh,
we continue. Let's go to Athens. Jeff standing by Jeff
go ahead. Yeah.

Speaker 10 (02:54:26):
I was just wondering if we could get Gary and
Larry singing the hits.

Speaker 2 (02:54:33):
I didn't. That's a good idea. Larry was a big
hit yesterday out of doubled Georgia. Let's go to Mike
and Florence. Mike, go ahead, Hey, Rick love the show Man,
Thank you.

Speaker 10 (02:54:45):
Hey, want to stick on the crystal deal?

Speaker 5 (02:54:47):
Okay, just in there, Saturday six crystals medium coke.

Speaker 4 (02:54:54):
Oh yeah, I'm sixty three.

Speaker 2 (02:54:56):
Well done, Ma, I yearned for your gastro intestinal system. Yeah,
that's the way to be bold.

Speaker 10 (02:55:03):
But hey, once once a year, once a year's fine.

Speaker 15 (02:55:07):
Yeah, I got Greg bat every ten years.

Speaker 2 (02:55:10):
Okay, Yeah, you go once a year. How the fries?
I can't remember. Oh, their fries are great. I love Crystal,
it just won't love me back. You know what this
go to h Brody out of Mobile Alabama. Brody, go ahead,
we're all doing We're good. Brody, how are you doing?
Turn your radio down? Sorry, go ahead. I was gonna say,

(02:55:33):
thank y'all for doing this show.

Speaker 14 (02:55:35):
I love listening you' all the morning. On the way
of school. Y'all are awesome.

Speaker 2 (02:55:38):
Thank you, buddy. So how have you How long have
you been listening to us on the radio.

Speaker 14 (02:55:44):
I'm eighteen years old. Have to listen to you my
entire life.

Speaker 2 (02:55:47):
Oh good, good, Well, so you've transitioned from the Rick
and Bubba show over to this.

Speaker 4 (02:55:54):
I've adjoined it a lot.

Speaker 14 (02:55:55):
Actually, it's been about the same for me by doing this.

Speaker 2 (02:55:57):
Bubba Yeah, well, you know, there's no replacing Bubba. Oh
my goodness. He was half of something called Rick and Bubba,
so his presence here can't be replaced. But there's always
other things we can do and other things he's gonna do,
so you really don't have to pick you kind of
get to go back and get the Rick and Bubba
greatest hits. Bubba's got a podcast coming up, we think
in round March, and we got the Rick Burgess Show

(02:56:19):
with the four of us, so we're hoping it's going
to be even better meet him to combine all those things.
So thank you for that. Brodie. There was kind of
you to say that, and glad to know we're molding
more young minds to go out and make a difference.
Thanks for taking time to call us. We'll be right back.

Speaker 1 (02:56:36):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the man who has

(02:56:58):
never been fashionably late anything.

Speaker 2 (02:57:04):
It's just math.

Speaker 3 (02:57:05):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (02:57:05):
I don't understand why people are like, you know, barring
something that can't be controlled. I don't understand. All right,
so we continue. We thank you for being with us today.

Speaker 14 (02:57:16):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (02:57:16):
Greg from the text line, uh and uh? Ranking late
eighties hair metal bands? Who? Uh would you? And are
they ranking? Do they want us just to use these
or they're using these as examples if you were to
let's use what they have here. Okay, let's go by there.
If we were to rank Poison, skid Row, Cinderella, and Warrant,

(02:57:40):
that's the that's the Cinderella one ye, skid Row two,
Poison three, Warrant four I can't. I can't argue with
that that that's exactly the route one. Would Cinderella be
your number one hair band? Yeah, I think so. M
m me tell my favorite band from that era though

(02:58:02):
that's not considered a hair band is Tesla. That's a
good band. That is a great band. But I'm gonna
be you. I don't think I classified that as a hairband. Yeah, Tesla,
that is in a class by itself. Yeah. So, I
I'm a white sneak guy, got a little commercial gotta.
I knew he was gonna say it. I knew he
was gonna say it. So, so there you go again

(02:58:26):
concert and they could pull it off. I don't know
why I wasn't a huge fan of them. I liked
maybe two songs, well, Still the Radio, Still Stilla the
night was great. We covered that, and that was not
an easy song to cover. I was, and we pulled
it off. They were one of those the recording was
so you know, produced, But when I saw him live

(02:58:46):
and they were really good live. This person's put poison
number one, and I am just so sorry. I cannot
allow that I might swap poison and skid row in mine.
I put skid row second basically skid Row's first albums
all like like anything else, but it's good, really good.
You got youth going wild eighteen in life. Yeah, I remember,

(02:59:07):
I remember you. Come on now, come on composing, can't
touch that look. I appreciate poison, just say poppy. Probably popular,
some songs that are snappy. But yeah, but I didn't know.
They're overachievers is what they were.

Speaker 3 (02:59:23):
Rats always good, Rat.

Speaker 2 (02:59:25):
I will put ye pull them out? Who would I pull?
Who would you out of those four? I would drop
warrant for Rat for sure? Yes, I would Rat. That
was good. That's a good band. I love. I was
actually watching watching somebody said, somebody trying to say Guns,

(02:59:47):
they're not a hair band. Guns is not a hair band. Tesla,
not a hair band band.

Speaker 3 (02:59:51):
It's just a rock.

Speaker 2 (02:59:53):
Tesla in the same category. Yeah, don't don't wing Gun
was bon Jovi hair metal? No, they weren't even hair band.
Would a good rock band? It's just a rock band.

Speaker 3 (03:00:03):
They got a lot of hair.

Speaker 2 (03:00:04):
Def d death Leparge is not a hairband. A lot
of hair. No, No, they're not.

Speaker 3 (03:00:09):
You lot of hairspray.

Speaker 2 (03:00:10):
I'm sorry. Deaf Leppard again, that's my favorite. Strong effort.
But I didn't like this thing where you liked hysteria.
Then later in life this side of you didn't like.
It's like you you threw Hysteria out and you brought
Crystal back in. I did, yep, but you're right I did.
I don't hate it by no means, but I like
hind and Dry much better. That's the best record, even

(03:00:32):
better than Power Romania, Easy Greg. But I love powle
Remania changed my life. When I heard photograph, I thought,
of my goodness, what is this. Where do you put
Motley Crue in Motley Crue? You know I'm a dreamer.
They're they're top ten.

Speaker 3 (03:00:49):
They've got some good songs. I'll be honest. Kickstart my heart,
come on now.

Speaker 2 (03:00:52):
Yes, I've seen them in cons a couple of times.
I get a little I get a little heat because
I didn't get on the stropper wagon. Yeah, I didn't
really like. I know I'm supposed to like stripper, but
I just can't. Now somebody he can't sing, just not
my thing.

Speaker 3 (03:01:10):
Motley cru just looks like straight up drag queens. See
I'm just looking at them.

Speaker 2 (03:01:14):
And they were a hair band because of the way. Yeah,
they would, but I quite right. It's almost like it's like,
you know, because of my mom when we were liking
hair bands, It's like I was trying to I didn't
think I could reach for Motley Crue and get away
with it. I know, pentagram on the front of record
was a little intent. I remember I was playing at
Troy at the time when they first and his name

(03:01:37):
was Todd Husko. I wont know where Todd Husko is now.
And he loved Motley Crue, I mean loved it, and
he and he kept and I was still a little
spook then before about anything that had anything to do
with dogs, and he kept trying to get He was like,
just come on down, you gotta hear shot. And I
was shout and I was like, no, I can't listen
to that man, and he was like, looks.

Speaker 4 (03:01:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:01:59):
Of course I went on to be more susceptible to that,
but at the time I was still in that transition period.
I was like, I don't think I'm ready for that.
They're interesting anyway, though, right, Yeah. So some of the stories, wow, wow, No,
they messed everything up. No. I saw a breakdown the
other day on how guns arose and how much money
they made and blew and then made it again and

(03:02:21):
they're back good. But they said they blew we should
be set for life and they blew it like twice.
Really yeah, I think that now they it's what's paying
out now there. Yeah, I can't. We got to stop
all this. When we declare that somebody should be set
for life, I mean it's all relative. There are people
there are, yeah, there are people set for life that

(03:02:43):
that that make sensible money. They just handle it. Well. Yeah,
it's all about that they're set for life. Yeah. You know,
like if you said to somebody that guy right there
and never made it, never made it, but eighty five
grand and I go, and he's set for life. Huh yeah, yeah,
he set for life. I mean because he was he
or she was marked with their money and you know,
paid themselves first, put it away, made made good decisions,

(03:03:05):
lived a sensible life. You know, if all of a sudden,
spending a million dollars is like somebody spending five hundred
dollars or you know, then it's all relative. You spend
it just as quick. The number is really not the point.
It's it's what what do you do? He mentioned most
of them fit that, Yeah, well, and the thing that

(03:03:26):
the getsches you think. They always get in that mode of,
you know, thinking, well, I can keep doing this because
I'm just going to make it again next year, and
then all of a sudden you're like, you know, you
have to you know, and that's easy. You're just not
thinking about that. When arenas are sold out, everything you
touch turns the gold and you get ripped off. A
lot of them get ripped.

Speaker 3 (03:03:48):
So what about the female hair band Vixen?

Speaker 2 (03:03:52):
They were good, they had a couple of good hits. Yeah.
I never went a broken heart, never went never went
down that road. And by the way, I didn't like
Twice its sister at all. I wasn't y'all his favorite.
He used to dress up like them. No, I didn't.

Speaker 3 (03:04:06):
I did.

Speaker 2 (03:04:07):
Where were we on Hanoi rocks thumbs down? Yeah, okay, well,
let me just be honest. I didn't. What about Wizzard
of Oz? No, I'm just kidding. Blizzard of Oz?

Speaker 3 (03:04:20):
Did you?

Speaker 2 (03:04:20):
Ozzie? Osburn was one of those places I couldn't go either.
I just was like, I can't go down the crazy train.
You got to love that. It's a great song. I
prefer uh oh, no, Fly Fly Away. Fly high again
to me. That's my friend. That's a good it's a great.
People won't know if Rock and Roll City is a
hair band. No, we say no hair But if it
had been forty years ago yet right, A lot of

(03:04:42):
people are asking, is the new bad music that we
use a rock and Roll City original? Answers, Yes, yes,
what are you think of? Dowkin No Rhymes was rocking,
but I just the same way. They were almost there.
But then you're like, I remember being in the band
after you and I weren't in bands anymore, and I
was in the band. Of course, a lot of you
probably remember it. Vindicator and and and the guitar player

(03:05:04):
was big on docing, and I remember having to do
docking songs. I didn't really enjoy it. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:05:09):
What about Nitro?

Speaker 2 (03:05:11):
Don't don't know?

Speaker 4 (03:05:13):
You don't know them?

Speaker 2 (03:05:14):
Slaughter slaughter, Yeah, I just got a text about them. Okay,
that one song I.

Speaker 3 (03:05:18):
Like this is Nitro? Greg loves that didn't know about Night.

Speaker 2 (03:05:23):
I didn't know about Night, must not have made it
to it's somebody. I love this text. Can we have
an honest conversation about Abba? No? No another slaughter text?
Good night, Yeah, Running James d uh. Somebody rainbow and
somebody says Rick in the days that you when you

(03:05:45):
were singing like you are on the Mister Bucky album,
it was actual rose with more testosterony. What a compliment?
I do love? That's good man, it is. It is
a little problematic problem. Yeah, that that's van Halen. So
of course, man, I don't consider hat on the hair band.
Where are we on your before? Where are we on Europe?
Is the final count? Damn, I don't like it.

Speaker 11 (03:06:07):
No?

Speaker 3 (03:06:08):
What about Great White?

Speaker 2 (03:06:09):
Oh yeah, no, I'm an know on. I'm gonna know
on that. Okay, I remember I know on and what
they were. I don't like them, Okay they were, I'm
not saying, but they're really good. Get mister Big. I
like mister Big. Yeah, very talented group. I like the
way that guy seems. Eric Martin, what about mister mister?

(03:06:36):
I love somebody putting still panther up there? All right,
we'll be back. We'll wrap up any stories we left
on the table and wrap the hour up, and thank
you more, Marty com.

Speaker 1 (03:06:53):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, broadcasting from the real world,
The Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (03:07:22):
All right, we're back now. Somebody mentioned here Brady. All right,
so working our way back. Thanks for being with us
as we wrap up another hour. Remember any of the
show that you may have missed, you can always grab
in our daily archives either on the podcast channel or

(03:07:42):
you can get it on the YouTube channel as well.
Episode two Tales from the Camp House Business Summit Episode
two is there. Yesterday's Bible study also there, so you
can grab that on your own time. I know we
were doing a story. There's an update. When you remember
when NFL players there was like this rash of people

(03:08:03):
breaking into their homes because you know that you can
document when they're on the field, you know where they are,
and yeah, Joe Burrow homes. Yeah, people breaking into their homes.
Chilean migrants have been arrested yep uh for breaking into
Chilean migrants another reason here uh so. The Ohio State

(03:08:27):
Highway Patrol has released dash cam footage now showing a
traffic stop that eventually led to the arrest of four
men who were suspects back in the December break in
of an Ohio home that's owned by Cincinnati Bengals star
Joe Burrow. It says the four suspects, described asile a

(03:08:48):
Chilean nationals were arrested after an ongoing investigation UH involving
break ins of multimillion dollar homes in multiple states. So
they're saying that bunch maybe behind all of it. So
I got a plan that said, we know where they're
at when you had a game that they obviously got money.
So they got to be something good there. Get ready

(03:09:09):
for something that no one will be surprised about. They
are in the country illegally. No, yeah what, and they
have overstayed. Those who did have visas that were supposed
to be limited, they those had run out and they
were still here.

Speaker 3 (03:09:24):
How'd they get it?

Speaker 2 (03:09:25):
I don't know in the world did they come in?
I do not know. So so there you go open border.
So there's more open. But we're gonna be all. We're
gonna be done with that though. California. Is it just?
I mean they I saw the original fires, I saw
a sixty eight percent contained, ninety one percent contained, and

(03:09:49):
now brand new fires that are not contained at all.
Tell you what what is going on? I mean it
is on fire. I mean it is continuing. Now. Who
is starting these? Is it natural?

Speaker 11 (03:10:00):
Well?

Speaker 2 (03:10:00):
I know we went through this. They ain't sure they
had a guy with the blow towards they arrested. Yeah,
they didn't think. I don't believe they've charged him with anything.
So this is Have you seen the footage of this one?
I mean you can see it catching in all the
dry underbrush. Of course the fire lane might be helpful,
but and I know we must protect the smelt. But
the have you seen I saw footage and it's like

(03:10:22):
it's exploded to more than ten thousand acres in hours
and fire tornadoes, which for some reason are really scary tornado. Yeah,
fifty thousand residents are given new evacuation warnings. Man, they
can't get hold of They just can't get a hel on.
On a much more brighter note, our friends at Bluebell, Oh,

(03:10:45):
Blue blue Bell, they just you know, this is not
normally that time of year where you think of ice cream.
But maybe we should, Yeah, maybe we should. Yes, embrace it,
Embrace it. Bluebell. They're trying to be man ice cream.
This is the one you sing for. Greg actually is
the person that sings on their jingle. And yeah, a

(03:11:06):
lot of people don't know it as a matter of
fact that they've got a new flavor that Greg and
Legy are singing about it's called Everlasting Christmas tree a
Christmas It's Christmas now? This one is. Tell me what
you fellas think about this? Everybody like a strawberry, it says,
toaster pastry That must be a copyright thing, a pop tart? Yeah,
anybody like a strawberry poptorn? Yes? Who don't like a

(03:11:31):
strawberry poptorm? This case Bluebell ice cream strawberry toaster pastry?
Uh huh?

Speaker 6 (03:11:39):
Saturday is National ice Cream for Breakfast Day? And uh
so they're starting early celebration ice cream for breakfast Why not?

Speaker 2 (03:11:48):
I love when they text me, can we stop buying? Yes?
You can? You know where the freezer is? Is anybody
ever said to that question? So, yeah, we're Bluebell ice Cream.
We want to pop by and give you free ice cream.
I'm good, No, we're good. I don't think so. Here's
here's Greg and Lisa singing about it. Is it right here?
Okay's Thursday. I don't know that commercials on the side. Yeah, sure,

(03:12:34):
we're right. Jingles. By the by the way, what's funny
when you mentioned that? On the on episode two of
Gary he made a new friend today and she's like
the good old days I love when you hold it

(03:12:55):
well wonderful. No, let me hear the two more time.
I got a dollar here more time.

Speaker 1 (03:13:11):
You remember our old country home.

Speaker 2 (03:13:14):
I remember our country home down here like me Chum
and a new really well favorite Sally a little bit
of senate. Uh. But on episode two Hotels from the
camp House Business Summit, they actually kept in. There was

(03:13:39):
a moment down there because of all the US were getting,
getting the new company and the new show ready. There
were so many things that had to be recorded. You'll
actually watch Greg and me trying to record commercials on
his computer like he was in a bucket. They served
a purpose of thank you Greg, Greg. I'm sure they

(03:13:59):
were right about this.

Speaker 6 (03:14:05):
I laughed when I saw what you were doing.

Speaker 2 (03:14:08):
So that that one actually you do go in behind
the scenes and watch us trying to make it happen.
A work is what you were doing, right, because it
wasn't It wasn't hunting trip. It was well like Greg
says on this, I mean you don't see as much
business being done, But that mean, what's a I.

Speaker 3 (03:14:23):
Would have been boring.

Speaker 2 (03:14:25):
The brainstorm. No, Hey, all they want to do is
come down here, and that's all they do is eat,
hang out, watch TV, and go hunt. And that's it.
I ain't seen much business. Uh all right, so listen
to the bizarro world we're living in. So now we
have an A C l U lawyer. This is here,

(03:14:46):
this this person cannot no longer wants the term woman.
If you're a biological woman who is living as a
biological woman. Can you believe we're even having this conversation? Uh,
this lawyer calls females non transgender women. No, no, no,

(03:15:06):
they're actual women. Then there's either a transgender woman and
a woman, and really there's just a woman. Yeah, okay,
you can be you can be a man who's living
is a woman, and I guess you can call that
transgender that. But you don't call people who are just
living out their biological gender anything other than man or woman.

(03:15:30):
That's it. So is that where we're going next? Non
transgender men, non transgender women. There's no need for that phrase.
And I mean, this is the kind of stuff that
we're pushing back against a lot. We're not going into
this fake world. We're going to stay. And again, if
this is something this person wants to do in their life,
that's perfectly their business. But but You're not going to

(03:15:52):
go out to mandat into society that now a woman
has to be called a transgender woman or a non
transgender woman. Know that there's a woman and there's a man,
and then any variation on that then needs a label. Yeah,
but if you're doing the but you were giving it

(03:16:13):
birth and there's no need for any other Claire from
now your ago. Top of the hour, Thanks for being
with us, guys.

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
