An opportunity for you to win a little something today
with a brand new Rick Burgess Show contest called right Again?
Can you go head to head with Greg Burgess and
try to discern whether he has the right answer to
a question or do you disagree with him that he's

(01:17):
not right again? We'll do that today. She standing by
for that. Also good news. It looks like the final
CD in the Rick and Bubba era, thirty one years
of that. The most of my life. The last one
run me is there and shut her down. The last

(01:39):
CD is finally on streaming today. It's finally there, so
if you want to go get it, go get it.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
It was a great idea.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
We did the top what ten or so moments of
the last year, and then we also put another ten
or so of all time on there and a lot
of them. The only one that made a CD in
the past was the original telling of Joe Carwash because
of the name of the CD. The others are little
nuggets that were very popular on Best of shows but

(02:13):
never found their way to a CD, kind of like
deep cuts, So go out and enjoy that. Also, speaking
of the legacy of the Rick and Bubba Show, we
have episode two tomorrow of the brand new podcast Rick
and Bubba's Greatest Hits, so you can grab that wherever
you get podcasts you haven't already got it ready to go.

(02:36):
Episode two will be tomorrow, so there you go. As
for things that are going on with the new show,
episode two of Tales from the Camp House Business Summit
is on our YouTube channel. Getting great reviews on that.
If you haven't caught that, please do all right, So
we've got a lot to unpack today, guys. Some things

(03:00):
we're kind of sorting through right now. One of the
things that I do want to mention is an ask,
is everybody got all your stuff? You've got your all
access passes? Do you have the conferences timeline? Is everybody

(03:21):
ready for the first of three Manchurch conferences tonight, gentlemen, Birmingham, Alabama.
We've got to right at almost two thousand men that
are coming from all over and they will converge on
Gardendale First Baptist Church, Great facility, and we will get

(03:43):
underway doors open at six tonight. If you don't have tickets,
that's all right. There are some seats. I don't know
how many are left now, but there are some left
on the general mission. And if you go to the
Manchurch dot com you already have it. Just click there
and get it. There won't be anybody there at the
door that you're coming up and going, hey, I want
to buy some tickets.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
We're not going to have that.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
But if you want to put them at will call, now,
we do have a will call within them, so you
can put them at will car or I don't know
why you do that anymore. If you if you buy
them electronically, you dis print them out or take a picture.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
Of it with your phone or whatever.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
So we'll so you can still go if you want to,
and we look forward to seeing all of you. We
will have speedy Greg Adler, Hey, I'm coming to the
meeting and Gary out at the Rick Burgess show table
and we'll have some goodies for you while they last,
So go meet the guys. I'll get out there as

(04:37):
much as i can, but obviously I'm very involved with
Team Manchurch on running the conference and got multiple times.
I need to be on the stage to be you know,
to take care of things. And then I'm speaking tonight too.
Tonight I'll just have kind of a short message and
then tomorrow I'll.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
Have the main message.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
So tonight it will be We'll start with Andy Blanks.
He'll be the first one up after Chuck Hooton brings
us into worship. Incredible musicians and singers. You're gonna love that.
If you have never heard two thousand men praising the
one and only Living God, you're in for.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
A treat this weekend. Okay. And then we got it.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
And then after Andy Blanks, we've got Hugh Freeze. Now
it is possible. This is the stuff that that gives
speedy hives. You know, coaches on the recruiting trail. You
could either have Hugh free second or you can have
me second. Okay, so we'll well, it's according when when
he gets there a game time, it's gonna But but

(05:35):
I think I think we're good. Okay, Well, you never
know what travel, what can happen. So that that's driving Andy,
by the way insane. Okay, because he realizes now the
way it's worked out, he who needs to be involved
in making sure that Coke is gonna be on stage
tag So now the worst thing has happened. Then Less Bradford,

(05:56):
who's the MC, says well, I'll be mceing, And then
the terrible moment happened when he said, Rick, I'm afraid
you're the guy. I think you've got to get coach
where he's supposed to be. And I said, I bet
that makes everybody feel comfortable. So yeah, so anyway, so
and then I'll have a little short time of response tonight.
Then tomorrow you say short time, but they could do

(06:17):
the Yeah, they could tell me they yeah, string it out. Yeah,
and then tomorrow doors open at seven thirty am.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
Tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
We started at eight thirty and George Wright, pastor at
Shades Mountain Baptist Church where I went for over twenty years.
He's an outstanding speaker, and then Granger Smith, and then
I'll close the weekend.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
So yeah, it's gonna be fun.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
Yeah, So it's gonna be a great weekend and we'll
have a resource available tonight. I'm almost I've almost made
it easy. Do you think Andy is in more trouble?
He's see a lot of you think Andy, if he
makes it to tonight, he's made it. That really isn't true,
because what I'm not supposed to talk about, I'm not
supposed to talk about till the spring. So now, once

(07:01):
tonight and tomorrow is over, there'll be two more conferences remaining,
and then another sixty days worth of please don't say anything, gracious.
And when he says don't say anything, what do you mean,
just please don't start. He doesn't want me to pull
a dairyberry, got I get it right? But anyway, there's
a resource that's really really excited about that is going

(07:22):
to be available exclusively to the men who attend the
conferences and then out to the rest of the world
in the spring.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
So so anyway.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
Well, now I will say this. You asked about if
we had our stuff together.

Speaker 4 (07:34):
I didn't like Greg. I like Greg's face.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
Oh no, a matter of fact, prior to the show,
he's over there and he's clicking, you know, he's already
squint and looking at the monitor. He's sitting there quick.
You know, Hey, man, what time are you going to
be there?

Speaker 3 (07:46):
Huh? I said, I mean what tell me?

Speaker 5 (07:49):
What?

Speaker 3 (07:49):
Was he looking at the monitor, squinty.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
Eyes, Yeah, yeah, like this, you know. And then then
I asked him that question.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
Is huh, what's the times and stuff? I can't remember what?
And I know we talked about this for days.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
And I said, buddy, you've been sent text you've been
sent emails. Yeah, and and he got I got mo, dang,
mom gets grocery store.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
I'd be there six fifteen. They mumbled, mumble that.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
You're gonna come to eat or not? Now, why aren't
you coming to eat? That's when we hang out and
have fun.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
I don't know, you don't want to hang Yeah, you
don't love that back room green room fun.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
Yeah, that's where all the fun is. Once we get started,
what will we get started?

Speaker 3 (08:31):
Mania? Hey? They always got a good snack, Greg, you
can't miss the four to six. That's hangout.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
Time to split it. What they gonna say was your
brother not here? We were supposed to hold his food
for you.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
That's a good point.

Speaker 6 (08:45):
Doors are at six. Yeah, you can't get there after
the doors open.

Speaker 3 (08:49):
The doors are already open. He literally said, did you
mumble six fifteen? I knew something? Did you do that
to upset speedy or did you really know? He really?
And then I can passed. I know where that's at.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
I just did you look at the thing we sent
you where you're supposed to come in?

Speaker 3 (09:07):
I never got that. Here we go now that I
look y'all, y'all that did.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
Not send it again? I mean place has got a
lot of doors. Yeah, that's the point I got. Well, right,
but we're gonna wander around the sun shoe classes. Yes,
I mean you got to know where we are, okay.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
I just thought it was hilarious. He didn't know what time, hagars,
what's the times again? You know, the worst thing you
do is give me info too early. You need to
give me info the day of or the thing. You
complain because I've heard it about not knowing the info.
No that's not Burgess. I'd rather get it late than early. Lisa.
You know, I know if you're watching, you know what

(09:47):
we're dealing with.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
I tell you what I don't want to do either.
I don't want to hear. Hey, we need you in
the lobby.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
Behave This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 7 (10:00):
Hi, everybody, come on with it.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
We're moving a little bit, and I says away, I say,
walking our way back, excited about the weekend. And if
you want to go behind the scenes at the conference,
just follow us on social media.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
So we'll do that.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
We'll all try to on our individual social media gives
behind the scenes stuff if you're not coming to the conference,
and then we'll try to have some stuff on Monday's
program too. Some of you are asking on the text line,
will the conference sessions be streamed?

Speaker 4 (10:49):
Are recorded?

Speaker 2 (10:50):
And the answer is no, that we've we've tried to
climb that mountain before, and every time that we try
to climb that mountain and put a pen to paper,
it just you got to understand men's ministry. It boy,
it works on a on just a shoe string budget.
So anyway, but everything there is first class. Don't misunderstand me.

(11:11):
But adding some of these extra calls just it doesn't work.
And there's a lot that goes with that. So what
we always say is you just got to get to
the conferences. So and then you also run into and
you know, I remember the first time somebody asked me
about this in course, I'm so naive. I didn't even
think about it. You know, it didn't mean to me, Hey,
is it okay if we stream your message? And I'm

(11:33):
always like, yeah, sure, And then I had other people going,
so you just let these things just go out everywhere,
And I'm like, why why wouldn't I, Well, aren't you
going to use them in other conferences? Don't you sometimes
use the same message? And so now it's out there,
and I mean and I'm like, well, I never even
think about that. Plus how many people you know, I've
heard a message more than once and then can't remember

(11:55):
anything about it. Then I heard it again, I said, oh,
I remember the first time. I was at a conference
and I heard Tony Evans and I was fortunate enough
to be on the same lineup and I heard him
doing his message, and it basically was like one of
the chapters out of a book of his I'd read Kingdoman. Well,
I didn't have any less a good experience with it.
I was like, oh yeah, I remember this from the book,

(12:18):
but it's still moved me, you know what I mean.
But anyway, but when you get see I have that attitude,
but not every speaker has that attitude. So then you
get down to well we got a line up and
two of the guys says we can stream it and
the other three says no, you know, so then you
get into that and then you say, well, we're going
to record it. Okay, well three guys said we recorded,
then two guys said no. So it just it just

(12:39):
doesn't work. And to me, the music never sounds as
good on that kind of stuff.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
Either.

Speaker 2 (12:44):
You need to be we want you to experience the room.
But so and most of the content that we work
through is fully available to you, you know, like my goodness,
we've been doing an hour Bible study for a decade.
That's available to anybody anytime, anywhere. You know, it's not
a subscription thing or anything like that. Multiple resources, even

(13:08):
recorded messages out there everywhere that you can go get.

Speaker 4 (13:10):
So so the answers no on that.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
So you you have to actually be at the conference,
to to hear the messages and to be part of that.
So looking forward to and one of the things that
I think about on a on a serious note, extremely
serious note, and it just it overwhelmed me again today
as I was getting ready for the show. Is I mean,
we're we're sitting here right now and watching how all

(13:36):
this works together. And and there's a guy and and
he represents hopefully multiple men. He he has been invited
to this conference. He might have made the decision to
go to this conference. Okay, he's he's.

Speaker 4 (13:50):
Up right now, and he's like, well, this is that
damn one of that conference.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
And and he's he's going to go through his workday.
Maybe he took the day off to travel from Maryland
or some of these places we've seen men are coming from,
probably needs to. He may already be here, they might
have flown in last night. But he's up, he's going
through his coffee, and he has no idea. He has
no idea that the Lord God Almighty, when he wove

(14:15):
him together and his mother's womb, had this day. And
this is his day, this is his weekend. If it's
not his day, this is it. This will be the
moment that he will. He will hear not from the speakers,
but from God himself through the speakers, maybe through one
of the songs, whatever. The power of the Holy Spirit

(14:38):
is going to cut his heart today today, and he
is going to repent of his sin. He's going to
leave faith in himself. He's going to put his faith
in Jesus Christ. He's going to leave his own authority.
He's going to confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior,
and he will be redeemed in today's his day. That

(14:59):
blows my mind. And and then and and then he'll never.

Speaker 3 (15:03):
Be the same.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
But but right now it's not it had it's gonna happen,
but today's day. And if that can't get you fired up, I.

Speaker 3 (15:12):
Really don't know. I don't know what else to do.
You would we like?

Speaker 2 (15:16):
Yeah, I mean I've had. I mean, that's kind of
stuff that they gets you out of the bed when
when you wonder why you do what you do. He'll
live and meet us in the lobby and still not
now now he won't know. He'll be talking and Gary,
he'll ask Gary where his turkey calls are. He doesn't
know Today's day. No, no, yeah, he'll he'll talk to Gary.
Gary will say something, but I'm I'm sure he'll care
when the rest of his life about turkey hunting and

(15:39):
you know, and yeah, and he'll even go in there
and look, be looking over it. They'll be doing that
into their seats, cutting up, having and there's nothing wrong
with that because the conference does feature fellowship, and fellowship
is important. Oh yeah, too many for too long we've
to call it discipleship and men's ministry when it's not.

Speaker 3 (15:55):
It's not the same thing.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
So they'll they'll be fellowship, there'll be things available there
for discipleship. There's gonna be worship, which is important, and
then there's gonna be challenge. Somewhere in that challenge is
when all this other stuff he just don't he doesn't know.

Speaker 3 (16:12):
You don't know.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
Yeah, And here's what all of you can do out there.
And I've already heard from the Kevin Ham, the pastor
at the church that's hosting, in their entire incredible staff,
he said, they have walked that room and they have
literally prayed over every the thousands of seats, every single
one of them, and they've walked that room. And what
all of you can do out there because You're just

(16:34):
a bigger part of this as anybody. You can pray,
Pray over these men, pray if we could somehow, I know.
Let me tell you. We can go out, and I'm
glad we did. Don't hear me say anything else. Okay,
I'm so glad that President Trump is the president and
not anymore of this world we were on with the

(16:54):
bidens and Kamala and all that. So thankful for that.
But we can do that all day long, and men
still reject to answer the call that God has placed
on every man. The hope for any society is it'll
never be the government. The government plays a role, and
they're just pawns in God's plan Romans thirteen. But the

(17:16):
real change and the real health of a society has
been always will be God's design for the family, God's
design for the home, God's design for the church. And
the most influence involving all those things home, church, society,

(17:36):
that headship that God gave to the mail. If we
as men can be who He's called us to be,
that will do more to give us a healthy society
than any government ever will.

Speaker 3 (17:54):
And so we do our part.

Speaker 2 (17:57):
You know, That's why we said that that's why we
spend so much time on Now. Does is women's ministry important? Absolutely?
Is Sherry does some of that? We're gonna do some
more of that's marriage conferences absolutely, Youth, you better believe it. Children, Absolutely,
all that's important. But there's an influence and a headship.
If you can get the man boy, all that other

(18:18):
really starts coming together. Because you do the other and
ignore the men's ministry, he'll turn that thing upside down.

Speaker 3 (18:24):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
You know, as soon as they go back home, he's
gonna mess all that up for you. So y'all pray
over this weekend. We'll be right back.

Speaker 1 (18:34):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
Points you to another great movie from Angel Studios. I'm
so thankful for them. You know, we get so sick
and tired of trying to go see you know, try
to go see a movie and you're saying, what is.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
Always garbage doing in here?

Speaker 2 (18:51):
And all this propaganda and all this filth and why
is this even here?

Speaker 3 (18:56):
But then sometimes, you know, in the old days, you
go where.

Speaker 2 (18:58):
I'm going to go to a good faith based film
only to think, yeah, wasn't that great?

Speaker 8 (19:03):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (19:04):
But Angel Studios, man, they've been cranking out some really
great movies. And here's another one. It's called Brave the Dark.
Let me tell you something. If you're a teacher, a coach,
you know this is your you know, part of your family.
You're gonna love this movie because it's gonna be so
personal to you because you know, you've got this kid
who's the main character, and he's on the brink of

(19:25):
losing everything. He's got every every you know, every deficit
you can think about with his life, his family. For
him to be kind of by society, be deemed is
not not not worth anything. But there's a teacher that
and you're gonna see how far someone will go to
say I think there's potential.

Speaker 4 (19:42):
I believe in this kid.

Speaker 2 (19:43):
I'm not ready to give up on him when everybody
else has already.

Speaker 3 (19:47):
Given up on him. It is a great movie. It
really really is intense.

Speaker 2 (19:51):
It's well acted, great dialogue. So go to go to
angel dot com right now, Angel dot com, h slash
Rick okay, and you you'll be ready to see this.

Speaker 3 (20:01):
Okay. Uh. And I've had a chance to see it.
I love it. It's called Brave the Dark. Angel dot
com slash Rick Deep all right, we're back.

Speaker 2 (20:25):
Run me as ee and shut her down is now
on streaming. So we gave it an announcement to you earlier.
A lot of you have found that on your own.
Good job, Rick and Bubba's Greatest Hits Episode two this
weekend on The Rick Bergers Show YouTube channel. Tels from
the Camp House Business Summit episode two is available now.

(20:46):
It made it was made available earlier in the week.
Uh so grab that, all right. So we've got a
lot to discuss going forward on the program today before
we do, and I do want to hit a couple
of things from Babylon B. Babylon B. I love Babylon B.
I made that very clear. Uh, these men and women

(21:07):
are hilarious. Well, I better not say that one because
that one I think upsets people. Uh this one, this
one's well, there's a word that I know that we not,
we don't use anymore. Babylon B seems to be using it.
But anyway, here's a here's a good one based on
this idiotic heretic that got up and blasphemed the church

(21:29):
at the first prayer gathering after the new administration. From
Babylon B. God clarifies that wherever two or three are
gathered in my name. I am with them.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
Doesn't apply to Episcopalians. Good night, that's funny. That's a
good one.

Speaker 4 (21:45):
Sad with border clothes.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
This murderer now forced to do always murdering in Mexico
only a right.

Speaker 3 (21:55):
Good night.

Speaker 2 (21:56):
Let me tell you something that is that is good.
Oh man, Columbia student just graduate with the d e.
I degree.

Speaker 3 (22:07):
Got nothing to do with it now.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
Late not comedians excited They can now make jokes about
the president again.

Speaker 3 (22:13):
All right, so that's great.

Speaker 2 (22:14):
So there you go, all good. I think the best
one there's got to be the Episcopalians. Yeah, of that
like the Mexico and that's pretty good that they don't
miss though they don't miss.

Speaker 9 (22:25):
This is this is so inside. But the bishop has
the same haircut as Bones.

Speaker 3 (22:31):
You are so wrong. I kept wondering who she reminded
me of. That's it.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
He appreciates she had a pair of blue jeans shorts
onto her knees.

Speaker 1 (22:46):
It would be Bones.

Speaker 3 (22:48):
Oh, you're in so much trouble.

Speaker 9 (22:53):
I will see him tonight.

Speaker 3 (22:54):
Actually sorry, an awkward moment.

Speaker 2 (22:57):
Course, of course, he's been assigned to pick up Hugh
Free so probably not all right him In the last
second right, So he's on the road.

Speaker 3 (23:09):
He's getting things done, Yes, Adler.

Speaker 2 (23:12):
Greg is also requesting that you stop turning the cameras
on during the break. Everybody keeps sending still shots of Greg.

Speaker 10 (23:19):
There.

Speaker 2 (23:19):
It goes by with the eating the muffin, and he is,
let me tell you, he's tearing it up. You know
that it looks like a game camera and you go, hey,
the bucks are moving.

Speaker 3 (23:31):
Camera.

Speaker 9 (23:31):
Hey camera. I thought about this last night.

Speaker 6 (23:36):
What if we set up some little like trays like
on airplanes, and we put him in the big vox
seats here and then because you can't see the big
vox seats on the normal camera shot, and that could
be like our little lunch tray area and you could
eat there.

Speaker 3 (23:48):
Greg. Yeah, I know, but you forget to keep eating it.

Speaker 11 (23:53):
No.

Speaker 2 (23:53):
I've actually looked up before him and I was eating
and I'll walk I'll just walk right out of the camera.

Speaker 3 (23:57):
I'm not far off. I'm barely out of it. We
now eat over in the corner, get up and go
pee and stuff like that. During that Thank you, Greg,
we go to commercials.

Speaker 2 (24:08):
That's the way staring at her, that's the way to
say thanks for listening to our sponsors.

Speaker 1 (24:11):
Right.

Speaker 3 (24:14):
I didn't realize ever playing.

Speaker 2 (24:17):
By the way, it's so funny because we have this
running theme at home that I won't allow anyone to
complain about commercials because I said, you talking, that's how
we all make a living. And I finally got it
now that the Sure said that she goes, I want
you to know I've made adjustments and I'm not going
to complain about that anymore where she goes. What I
will now as I'll complain about commercials of people that
won't advertise with y'all. I said, okay, yeah, I said

(24:38):
that that we can do well speaking.

Speaker 3 (24:41):
Of that, did y'all see?

Speaker 2 (24:42):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (24:43):
It worked? Oh? Really? Thank you Terry Wilburn.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
Remember I told yall kept telling Sure about how much
Terry was, how much food she was sitting up here
and everything.

Speaker 3 (24:53):
Now that we don't have our breakfast till anymore.

Speaker 2 (24:55):
And I was privy to a little group text. Yesterday
all the wives got together and Cherry called called a
little saying, hey, we gotta we gotta step up. Yeah, okay,
she said, good, she said, Terry. She raised the bar ladies.

Speaker 3 (25:10):
Well, I've already heard what what I'll be bringing. I
got a little bit of a complaint on Greg. He
has how many people have said that before he has
brought things in, but I noticed he's selfish. Yeah, storeball stuff.
Like yesterday, I'm like, where'd you get that? And he's like,
everybody made it, you know, it's just stuff from Do

(25:32):
you remember when I did my storeball stuff? I shared
it with all y'all you made fun of it, but
I shared it. Yeah.

Speaker 9 (25:37):
It doesn't feel like we're welcome to it, right.

Speaker 3 (25:40):
It really does. You need to ask, But yeah, I'd
like to also make some.

Speaker 9 (25:43):
Body language matters, Greg. Body language matters.

Speaker 2 (25:46):
Things I bring in are for everyone, I know, theiced
things you bring in or just for you.

Speaker 4 (25:50):
That is so true.

Speaker 3 (25:51):
Y'all can have one. He'll even take the Donde peanuts
and you will. You want to say it one of them?
The nuts? Is y'all complain about that you aren't allowed
to have them?

Speaker 8 (25:58):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (25:59):
I also have a little bit of a complaint on you, okay,
because I think you're the one welcome. I think he's
the one of you, okay. On the on this topic,
I think that you need to share a little more
on the protein shakes that come in from Coke CooA.

Speaker 3 (26:14):
Okay, yeah, you seem to you seem.

Speaker 4 (26:17):
To really go after those.

Speaker 9 (26:18):
They go quick, I go, I get one today.

Speaker 6 (26:20):
Yeah so sometimes okay to sometimes.

Speaker 3 (26:24):
Those are for everyone. Claim, well don't he just lives
it between the two of you.

Speaker 6 (26:30):
We don't have anything, No, Greg, Greg, have you seen
there's a little show called Hoarders and that's you.

Speaker 3 (26:35):
You're on it. That's all cheese and fruit.

Speaker 4 (26:39):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (26:39):
I don't know where it is. Just leave me my
Jimmy Deane thing along. He won't share Jimmy Dean thing.
I don't know.

Speaker 9 (26:46):
Jimmy Dean, Greg, I don't know.

Speaker 10 (26:50):
Could be here.

Speaker 3 (26:50):
I'm gonna I'm gonna admit something on Jimmy Dean. Is
he alive? No, he's Is he a real No?

Speaker 12 (26:58):
No?

Speaker 3 (26:59):
Don't you love? I do. When Jimmy Dean is telling
me about sun coming up and me having a good breakfast,
it makes me for warm.

Speaker 8 (27:05):
I love.

Speaker 3 (27:06):
I love for Jimmy Dean to talk to me about
break need to double check, but I believe he's going
on in I thought that because I heard you don't
know speedy, you some Jimmy Dean figure. By the way,
just out of the blue. It's been around for a minute.

Speaker 2 (27:23):
Jimmy Dean didn't like get created last year, but he's
still say I'm sorry speaking wrong, been there for fifteen years.

Speaker 3 (27:33):
No, but I'm saying I just wanted to double check.
Right opposite you just share your Jimmy Dane about that.

Speaker 4 (27:41):
I'm with you on his commit his little voice.

Speaker 3 (27:43):
Look at that sunshine, look at that, Look at that.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
I wish that I would have had one moment with
me and Jimmy Dean at the farm with the sun
coming up. And that's talking about breakfast eats. But so,
uh do you remember he had a variety show?

Speaker 8 (27:56):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (27:57):
Did he really?

Speaker 9 (27:58):
I read that. When I said yes, I meant to
say even born. When I said yes, even I meant
to say no.

Speaker 3 (28:09):
Jimmy Dane, Rick, I'm thirty nine, that's impossible.

Speaker 9 (28:13):
In my mind, he said. Didn't he have a reality show?
Whatever it's called varieties?

Speaker 4 (28:18):
He wasn't a singer. He was a singer.

Speaker 3 (28:20):
Yeah, I can't remember how well knew who he was.
What else you think you did? Didn't just make breakfast
variety what he did? But he was a farmer. You
remembering Big John?

Speaker 4 (28:32):
Yes, Big John?

Speaker 3 (28:34):
Is that was that him?

Speaker 11 (28:35):
Yeah?

Speaker 9 (28:35):
Big Big John?

Speaker 3 (28:36):
Yeah? I think you're right.

Speaker 9 (28:38):
I remember that. Here's that. Here's a commercial. I don't
know if this is the one, but here's a commercial
with Jimmy Dean.

Speaker 3 (28:45):
Oh yeah, I love hearing him talking about breakfast.

Speaker 5 (28:48):
I wish I could tell you how I feel about
it morning like this, Yes, wake up feels like a
tight pair of pants ready to rip. And you say, lord,
I hope everybody in the world feels as good as
I do this morning.

Speaker 8 (28:59):
Oh wow?

Speaker 5 (28:59):
And uh, I honestly feel that way about Jimmy Dean sausage.
It's fine, it's good for you, and it tastes good.
Good for you to get some Jimmy Dean sausage and
get yourself a large.

Speaker 3 (29:10):
Chunk of that good morning feeling. Wow.

Speaker 2 (29:14):
By the way, I don't think your sausage is good
for it. That's back when they said smoking was good for.

Speaker 3 (29:22):
Right there.

Speaker 2 (29:22):
Did y'all see that, like the smoke sick cigarettes and
eat some Jimmy Dean sauce.

Speaker 4 (29:28):
Caught me a'm a radical.

Speaker 9 (29:30):
But you're eating meat. It's good for you, That's what
I said.

Speaker 2 (29:32):
Did you see the North Korean soldier that wouldn't drop
his sausage?

Speaker 3 (29:36):
Heard about it? Yeah, hungry agreed.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
Yeah, he was the talking rainy and war or something
like that, and he wouldn't drop his foot talking about old, old,
old thoughts. I saw something in a movie last night.
It was you got a conference coming up. You're trying
to little dear hunt and try the end of the
year better known as the era of the chick flick. Uh,

(30:00):
you know youre just trying to put stuff in out account.
Sit over here by me. Okay, let's get our blankets out.

Speaker 9 (30:05):
I love this movie.

Speaker 4 (30:06):
I love serendipity.

Speaker 2 (30:07):
Right, and so in the movie it was actually a
movie about Audrey Heppron and man and uh, when she
won I don't know if this was true. When she
won her first the first movie she was ever in
Roman Holiday with Gregory Peck, she wins an oscar. She
didn't think she could act. She didn't eve think. She

(30:27):
would often say, thank y'all for wanting me to do that.
The only problem is I don't know how to act,
and then we don't care. People love you so much,
you'll you'll figure it out. So she got up there
and said talked about her mother taught her to stand
up straight and all this discipline, and said and always
told me only six cigarettes a day, only.

Speaker 7 (30:46):
Time, man?

Speaker 3 (30:48):
Six? You're good?

Speaker 9 (30:49):
Was it a like a drama that you watched.

Speaker 3 (30:52):
And now it was?

Speaker 2 (30:52):
You know, here's the true story of Audrey Hepburn.

Speaker 9 (30:56):
You know Jennifer love Hewitt TV.

Speaker 3 (30:59):
You are.

Speaker 2 (31:01):
Watchingo Bingo. I couldn't believe it happens. I can't believe it.

Speaker 9 (31:06):
Wow, you're a good husband.

Speaker 4 (31:08):
Yeah, well, thank you, Padler.

Speaker 1 (31:11):
This is the Rick Burgess Show with a Big John.

Speaker 3 (31:26):
See it? Everybody a big bed John.

Speaker 2 (31:30):
So if you did love Big John, there was something
wrong with Yeah, I mean there was something wrong with you.

Speaker 3 (31:37):
Get my big John.

Speaker 2 (31:39):
Okay, So, uh, let me hit this real quick. If
you're out there right now, and uh, you know you're
you're you just got a medicine cabinet full of stuff.
And you know, if you sit around all the time
now and if you do try to watch anything, it
seems like and even listening, you know, when you do
the National breaks and stuff like that, it's it's it's

(31:59):
like one drug after another, you know, people trying to
sell you and you might have bought into some of it,
and none of it's working. Why don't you try something
all natural by going to cbdistillery dot com. Now there's
forty eight thousand and five star reviews there. Okay, these
are clean ingredients, high quality, and there's a lot of

(32:21):
myths out there involving some of this. Put that aside,
go look at what people are actually saying. Over two
million satisfied customers and it's one hundred percent money back guarantee.
If it doesn't work, your money's back. So if you're
still struggling with sleep and stress, or maybe have some
other health concerns, why don't you the health concerns see
what they have for you by going to cbdistillery dot com.

(32:43):
Use the code big vox and you get twenty percent off.
You also find a link there at Rick Burgess show
dot com under sponsors. We did go and Speedy went
to the refrigerator, and there's no question on our minds,
Greg that.

Speaker 4 (33:00):
That that the stuff you brought in.

Speaker 2 (33:02):
You pushed to the back of the refrigerator where we
couldn't find it. And I was trying to make room,
you trying to make room. I didn't want to be dominant.

Speaker 4 (33:08):
You absolutely pushed it to the back of the fridge.

Speaker 9 (33:10):
It's hard to find that fridge is empty. Greg, you
don't have to make room in an empty fridge.

Speaker 4 (33:13):
I cleaned it all out because you wouldn't.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
Yeah, that's something you said you do, right, I'm going
to beat me to it.

Speaker 3 (33:19):
Right.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
Well, it looks it didn't require a lot of effort
out of me to beat you to it.

Speaker 3 (33:24):
Yeah, we get it, Laser, we get it. I stocked
the drink case yesterday.

Speaker 4 (33:29):
That was very nice, Greg, Thank you for doing Thank
you for doing that.

Speaker 3 (33:34):
That was such a task.

Speaker 2 (33:36):
Yeah, well, that was one of the things I used
to always think about because all of us do our
rotation on it, and after you're doing it, you're like,
I'm not sure why this was treated like getting to
the peak of everest. I would walk out after stalking
it and I would say, man, that took me five
six minutes.

Speaker 3 (33:53):
I got it down.

Speaker 4 (33:53):
Now you get on rolling their Yeah, man, that's what
I in front of the.

Speaker 3 (33:59):
Listen. Y'all can have some in my cottage cheese and fruit.
I brought plenty of that. Now, my Jimmy Dean cup,
I only got one of those. But if somebody's starving
and needs that, have it.

Speaker 4 (34:07):
I don't Jimmy Dean cups.

Speaker 3 (34:10):
I just ran out. Rick. I hate them. I see.

Speaker 2 (34:12):
Okay, So when you bring things in, it's yours that
we can we can't. We can eat if we won't,
but it's yours. But when we bring things in, it's
just everybody's.

Speaker 3 (34:21):
I haven't ate anybody's balt stuff. Yes you have, I haven't.

Speaker 2 (34:25):
Oh, yes you have what you You didn't go in
there and eat one of those things where you could
make the cottage cheese and the fruit in there together.

Speaker 3 (34:31):
No, I didn't have yogurt. No I saw you have one.
I did not.

Speaker 4 (34:37):
I thought I saw you eat pigs and the blanket
man ago.

Speaker 3 (34:39):
Well that's different.

Speaker 2 (34:40):
Is that different? We brought from home, but we bought.
We bought that may you.

Speaker 4 (34:46):
Know, but you you know I got in her home.
It was bought at the store.

Speaker 3 (34:49):
Yeah, but the effort was put to make it. So
you definitely want them to eat it. You'd hate to
bring it. Nobody eat it?

Speaker 13 (34:54):
Right?

Speaker 3 (34:55):
I got you.

Speaker 9 (34:55):
These are good.

Speaker 3 (34:57):
They are there.

Speaker 9 (34:58):
You can tell the dose made.

Speaker 13 (35:00):
It's good.

Speaker 3 (35:01):
Thank you do a good job.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
Thank you for those that have been missing hearing uh
someone eating in the microphone.

Speaker 3 (35:08):
Thanks thanks for bringing that back.

Speaker 6 (35:10):
I brought some pot roast if you guys want something
straight up for everybody.

Speaker 9 (35:15):
I didn't bring that much.

Speaker 3 (35:16):
But you're the same.

Speaker 4 (35:18):
As your your big brother.

Speaker 9 (35:20):
I know I'm offering it. Greg is hiding roll.

Speaker 3 (35:23):
In here with a plate of something made, and y'all
can have it, let me tell you, and y'all can
have him, but just leave Jimmy Dan alone. Yeah, let
me tell you what Adlers got right now, until we
started this and guilted him. He had his pot roast
put away at about six of those power protein.

Speaker 9 (35:35):
Shies for breakfast, one for lunch. That's my max a day,
go quick.

Speaker 4 (35:40):
Still, Yeah, raise your hand.

Speaker 2 (35:42):
And you hate to be when people are doing things
in a partnership with you, But raise your hand if
you kind of wish they would bring more of those.

Speaker 3 (35:50):
Ye, what is considered?

Speaker 9 (35:51):
We don't want to complain.

Speaker 3 (35:53):
Who's in charge of the order? No? No, I just
didn't bring a variety. Yeah right, No, you.

Speaker 9 (35:57):
Were in charge of that, Greg.

Speaker 2 (35:58):
Yes, you could tell them work to order it. I know,
I just bring what you always bring. By the way,
I think we would like one thing. Evidently they don't
want to just they say a couple of cases. No,
you're right that that product's real salt after because mom
likes it, and we have a hard time finding it
in stores.

Speaker 3 (36:15):
I think I think there's high demand on that. Yeah.
My point is they sent us two cases.

Speaker 9 (36:21):
Uh, I'll take one, you could say, yes.

Speaker 4 (36:23):
And now there's the chocolate milk, yeah, which is good.

Speaker 3 (36:26):
Those are good.

Speaker 2 (36:27):
We wish the calities were a little lower than that,
but it's good. Yeah, now that's good. I love chocolate milk.
You know what it is. It's actually good for you. Yeah,
but that's kind of milk.

Speaker 3 (36:36):
I'm not sure if it's milk, milk any milk that
has First of all, they're delivered and it's not cold. Yeah,
and it has an expiration day of like three months away.
It's a milk product, Yeah, exact what is it?

Speaker 2 (36:47):
It works ultra pasteurized, it's good, filtered milk or something.

Speaker 3 (36:50):
Yeah, it's really good.

Speaker 2 (36:51):
Have you ever heard heard the Nate Bargatski talking about
that chocolate milk bit he does. It's hilarious where he.

Speaker 3 (36:59):
Was details as well.

Speaker 2 (37:01):
I'm pretty sure chocolate mi is doing fine. But you
know that when when whoever got it got made that
turn with chocolate milk, because it is one of the
most wonderful things.

Speaker 3 (37:12):
On the earth.

Speaker 2 (37:13):
Is whoever made the turn that somebody we started justifying
that chocolate milk was a good after workout drink. It's
read nothing wrong with it. I don't I don't know
who pulled that off, but well done, well, And I
can't work out. I can't tell how many times I've
not won back and I've used your clearly probably exaggerated
your claim there that hey, I'm doing something good for something.

Speaker 3 (37:34):
Yeah, when we were coming, you love chocolate milk, love it.
Remember we were kids. You didn't buy chocolate milk chocolate.
You had to put the powder in it, and I wouldn't.
I didn't like the part when you get to the
bottom and all the chocolate was in the bottom. That
gross mount.

Speaker 2 (37:48):
I never liked.

Speaker 3 (37:51):
So you can relate to that.

Speaker 2 (37:52):
Yeah, Nestlie's quick versus I just bought chocolate milk in
a bottle already done.

Speaker 3 (37:57):
There's no comparison. How are you berry talking strawberry strawberry meal?
I don't like it, and yeah, I just don't know.
I'm not anti strawberry. But if I'm either gonna I'm
gonna drink chocolate milk. If we're going one milk, that's
where I'm heading.

Speaker 9 (38:14):
You know I drink whole milk.

Speaker 3 (38:17):
Well, yeah I don't.

Speaker 9 (38:18):
I don't get into this whole reduced fat thing. I'm done,
I'm over it. Fat's what about good for you to
eat it?

Speaker 3 (38:23):
What about raw milk? You going bringing on?

Speaker 6 (38:26):
I've never had it, But I'll go straight to the
cow from by the way.

Speaker 4 (38:30):
Now we're back to the bones again. Now we're back
to bones again.

Speaker 9 (38:33):
Is he a raw milk?

Speaker 3 (38:33):
Oh? Yeah, he's got a cow.

Speaker 9 (38:35):
I can tell he's got a haircut that says.

Speaker 4 (38:40):
Yeah bones.

Speaker 2 (38:41):
Don't ask me about adler, just go straight to it.

Speaker 3 (38:43):
A lot of people are talking about a lot of
people talking about you who. I don't even know what
you who is drink? Not chocolate milk water? Yeah, it's
not chocolate milk. Yeah.

Speaker 9 (38:57):
If you look on the can, I sound like a
little kid.

Speaker 3 (39:01):
You don't like it?

Speaker 2 (39:02):
No, we had a dog named that because it was
a chocolate la.

Speaker 3 (39:06):
That's Have you ever seen the you who candy bar? No?

Speaker 4 (39:10):
Yeah, that's good, it's any good.

Speaker 3 (39:12):
Yeah, I never had that.

Speaker 9 (39:13):
You who makes a strawberry drink?

Speaker 8 (39:15):
Oh?

Speaker 9 (39:15):
Yeah I did not know that.

Speaker 6 (39:18):
Hey, if straight up you look, if you're looking for
some good strawberry milk promised land Airy.

Speaker 9 (39:21):
It's a Texas, Yes it is, it's a Texas. I
got to give that shout out.

Speaker 3 (39:25):
It's so good. He's got to give him a shout out.
Shout out.

Speaker 1 (39:31):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (39:41):
Just doing our park, just doing our park, brand new hour, Speedy,
Greg Adler all here, Uh, the most powerful team anyone
could ever have, and all right, we're all moving forward together.
We were updating you on things that are going own.
Tonight's Birmingham, Alabama. Men coming from all over the country

(40:05):
for the first of three man Church conferences. Birmingham. Doors
open at six tonight and we roll Speedy, Greg and Adler.

Speaker 3 (40:12):
Hey, I'm gonna be out there with them.

Speaker 2 (40:14):
Are going to be in the lobby. We got a
table set up for the show. We got a little
gift for you if you so desire till we run
out and go by and see the fellas, get you
picture made with them, gripping grin and get ready for
a powerful weekend. I'll be going in and out from
the lobby too, But so that'll be going on this weekend.
If you still want a ticket, you can get them.

(40:35):
There are still some general admission seats available. It's a
great beautiful room there at Gardendale First Baptist Church. You
can grab those at the Manchurch dot com and you'll
have them and then we'll see you there. If Birmingham
didn't work out for you, we got two more coming
Panama City. You're next the twenty first and twenty second
of February, and then the very next weekend Atlanta the

(40:58):
twenty eighth of February in the first of March. Find
all those details at the Manchurch dot com. Run Me
a Zee, the last CD in the Rick and Bubba era,
is now available on streaming today.

Speaker 3 (41:09):
Maybe you can have something run me and shut her down.

Speaker 2 (41:13):
And then we do have coming out tomorrow episode two
on the Rick and Bubba's Greatest Hits, the new podcast
on the Rick Burgess Show YouTube channel, Live from Camp
House Tales from Camp House Business Summit Episode two is there,
and of course the daily archives of the show are
available there and on our podcast channel too. So there's

(41:34):
things that you need to know. Now we have discussed
something we're probably gonna do. Maybe this hour is you know,
we're working on new segments. You know we've established Speedy
by Me Lunch. You know we made some adjustments on
the wheel where now we got cash and bits and
bundles available in the way we operate, it is a

(41:56):
little different, and everybody seems to be loving that. We
also have the big Vox verdict. We're gonna go back
and do another one of those here before too long.
We thought that landed pretty well, making making a few
adjustments there right again with Greg Burgess.

Speaker 4 (42:11):
Everybody seems to love that.

Speaker 2 (42:13):
We will play another round of that today, so be
standing by for a chance to win.

Speaker 3 (42:18):
I got to warn you it's one.

Speaker 2 (42:19):
Of Greg's strongest areas. If you thought he's strong and
Andy Griffith today eighties rock bands.

Speaker 3 (42:25):
Oh yeah, good gracious.

Speaker 2 (42:27):
So the confidence is high. So we'll play that today.
And then we got a couple of things we're dabbling with.
You know, if you come up with a good email
that would lead to an answer and discussion on the show.
We called that Hey Bird, Hey Burge. That means you
email me so, hey bird, talk to me about this.
Can you answer this question or I'd like to know
about this, and then we do that out for a discussion. Also,

(42:51):
we did a debut of Rick Check's his office voicemail. Yes,
that went well I thought that went well with great
with Larry and Carolyn. Well, apparently we will do that
again today. I didn't have time yesterday for us to
record it and just play it back, So probably this
hour we're just going to send Speedy into my office,

(43:13):
put it on speaker and play a voice message that
was left yesterday that that I think has to has
to be has to be done. I love it for
not only just the content, but that gets me in
there off camera, so if it's not good, I won't
have to sit here, and.

Speaker 3 (43:31):
That's kind of a draw back.

Speaker 2 (43:32):
Second Hand embarrassment is definite. Second hand embarrassment on this,
I would say concern is high.

Speaker 3 (43:39):
All right, all right, well I'll just I'm just going
to tell you somebody wraps for us. Oh yeah, Now.

Speaker 2 (43:47):
I want you to think about I call the office
of a business and I wrap on the voicemail.

Speaker 3 (43:53):
I love it. Is it to the beat of vote Trump?

Speaker 13 (43:55):
Is that?

Speaker 3 (43:55):
Did I hear that? I don't know.

Speaker 2 (43:57):
I'm not sure the the other Oh it was right, Okay,
I misunderstood that because he starts out saying that that
is who little p is, isn't it?

Speaker 3 (44:05):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (44:06):
Okay, now, okay, that explains a lot of it.

Speaker 4 (44:13):
Come on, come on.

Speaker 2 (44:14):
Also, I don't know why this is the new thing
now because I shouldn't have mentioned it.

Speaker 3 (44:20):
I don't know why.

Speaker 4 (44:20):
But I'm not.

Speaker 8 (44:21):
I'm not.

Speaker 2 (44:22):
I'm not crazy about uh, those of you that are
now starting to email me from the ring format r
R I n G, where I'm now having to listen
to a voicemail that you emailed me.

Speaker 3 (44:34):
I'm not.

Speaker 2 (44:36):
Because because now you're let me tell you why, Because
like I had one from somebody Greg that you and
I went to high school with, and they want to
know if if I can come and do something back
in our hometown. Well, now they've left me a voicemail
on an email.

Speaker 3 (44:51):
How do I reply to that? Well, you're not going
to do it anyway, so don't worry.

Speaker 2 (44:55):
Who says I might, I might, I might be able
to do it. Hey, Hey, probably sending that request to me.

Speaker 3 (45:02):
Don't go into that.

Speaker 9 (45:03):
And there's a lot.

Speaker 4 (45:04):
More heads up.

Speaker 2 (45:05):
But but the so far out like I said, but
but but what I'm saying is this, I don't know
how to reply to that. If you just were if
you simply get me, or if you if you send
me just a written email, I just simply reply, should
when you send me one of these ring things?

Speaker 3 (45:22):
I don't.

Speaker 2 (45:22):
It's still coming from a number, right.

Speaker 4 (45:24):
Well, I just replied back to it.

Speaker 2 (45:25):
But then when I look up there at the who
I'm replying to, it says Ring Central. Ring Central is
is like an app like But I mean, is that
going to go to the person that's said it?

Speaker 3 (45:35):
Probably everybody a lot of time. If you're listening, he's
not coming, Greg, that's not true.

Speaker 2 (45:41):
I looked at the date we said that, Greg, Look,
I looked at the date. Okay, it's a it have
to be a little snug, a little snug, and there's
no doubt if I commit to it when it gets here,
I will.

Speaker 3 (45:52):
Regret committing to it. Okay.

Speaker 2 (45:54):
But but Greg, and here's the problem too. They needed
to They almost they almost successfully hit that window of
it so far away. I think Jesus will come back
before it gets in. Yeah, but unfortunately it's right there
on the line.

Speaker 3 (46:05):
Yeah you know, yeah, may Yeah, that's that's right there
on the line.

Speaker 2 (46:11):
Okay, that's not quite far enough away, you know this
year mate? Speaking of Ring Central. So this voicemail thing,
y'all gonna have me go do?

Speaker 3 (46:21):
I'm sure Yeah. Absolutely.

Speaker 2 (46:23):
Brett, who is our IT guy for the company for
some at media, he had set us all up with
a ring Central account and everything.

Speaker 3 (46:31):
What is that? And uh?

Speaker 2 (46:34):
He said, you don't have to be in your office
to hear your voicemail or whatever. There's there's an app
that can connect you to that. That way you can
be anywhere and check it. Well, I asked Rick about
that because we were wondering how we're going to get
it on the air, and he and I said, do
you have that ring Central account? He goes, huh, we
talking about imber and then you just said, what's that?

Speaker 3 (46:52):
Yeah. I'm gonna be honest with you. I've been here
sixteen years. I haven't checked an email in fourteen an
email in a voicemail. You don't check a lot of emails. No,
I check the emails. D I don't even know how
to check the phone.

Speaker 2 (47:08):
You've checked less emails.

Speaker 3 (47:09):
No I check emails, voicemails. You don't check a lot
of email.

Speaker 5 (47:13):
You don't.

Speaker 2 (47:14):
I will tell this when I when I when I
hit send to you on email, my confidence.

Speaker 3 (47:19):
Is not I promised I stay on top of those.

Speaker 2 (47:22):
Okay, but a voicemail and you didn't checked that. No,
I don't even know how you don't have your pen
number and all that that.

Speaker 4 (47:28):
Well, I have that, but I don't.

Speaker 3 (47:29):
I don't.

Speaker 4 (47:29):
I don't have this.

Speaker 2 (47:31):
I don't have this ring central thing at all. I
don't know what that is. And well, let me tell
you what I just said. It just I cann't have nothing.
But listen, here's what happened. Here's what happened, Greg.

Speaker 3 (47:41):
This will surprise you.

Speaker 8 (47:42):
Off.

Speaker 2 (47:43):
I remember, and you know, and I always struggle whether
the I T guy's name is Brett.

Speaker 3 (47:47):
Or Brent Brett.

Speaker 2 (47:48):
Y'all, good night, there's no end Brett. I'm sorry, but
it was Bent, is it Brett Brett. I'll never forget
again now, I'll never forget any now, Glover.

Speaker 4 (48:00):
Okay, I know Brent.

Speaker 9 (48:03):
You should know him. You've seen him many times for
many years.

Speaker 2 (48:06):
Sorry, Brad, I would like to apologize college Bred. Brett's
one of the nicest people I've ever dealt with in
the I T world, because a lot of them are
really weird, they really are.

Speaker 3 (48:14):
And uh yeah, and and and the U. But he's not.

Speaker 2 (48:18):
He's super, super nice and he's so nice that I've
called him Brent numerous times. All Right, so this means
I even started. I even got to where I would
slur it. Hey man, good see you, bra. I wasn't
sure if it was bred. There's no end, but okay,
got it? Whether that far thing just changed? Yeah, yeah,
so we is nickname him. Let's just nickname him. Way,
y'all don't have to worry about it. Rat far I

(48:40):
do prefer I do prefer a nickname. Yeah, but one
Brent Brett the but but what it was he talked
to me about my voicemail and setting and setting up
for the office and and we not many people use
that and there's no real reason to. And I always
say in my message, you're better off the email us.

Speaker 3 (49:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (49:00):
But anyway, so once I left that, I had that secure.
I knew how to check boy smail in my office
on my phone. Anything he said after that were the
adults on Charlie Brown Want Want Now you could also.

Speaker 14 (49:15):
Want want want.

Speaker 3 (49:17):
I have what I needed I need because I bet
I got some good messages. Well, just this is what
you wish and hope. Yeah, let's move on this email
check email wants some you'all were wrong about the email.
I don't know you don't check it.

Speaker 4 (49:35):
I think you just scan it.

Speaker 3 (49:36):
No, I check it.

Speaker 2 (49:37):
By the way, great idea from the text. Why why
don't you just make his nickname Brent?

Speaker 3 (49:42):
That would be good. That's funny. Let be right back.

Speaker 1 (49:49):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 3 (49:56):
All right, we're back.

Speaker 2 (49:59):
Show U much to do going forward on the program today.
We've updated you on a lot, so if you miss that,
you can always catch the old archives every day. Things
that you missed still to come right again? Uh with
Greg Burgess? Can you win a prize today by guessing
correctly whether Greg is right or you disagreed that he's right?

(50:20):
Warning the topic is eighties rock bands. Then I'm coming
a little bit later on the program. I want to
point you to my pillow. How'd you sleep last night?

Speaker 3 (50:30):
It could be it could be. Have you figuring that
out over there? Yeah, I'm in okay, all right, so
I think I think Speedy's figured it out.

Speaker 2 (50:38):
All right, So we'll get that in a minute. My
pillow dot com slash big vox. Let me tell you,
Mike Lindell said, Hey, the Rick Burgess Show, fellas, I'm in.

Speaker 3 (50:48):
Thank you. It is the world's greatest pillow.

Speaker 2 (50:51):
Uh and kind of just a side benefit is also
you're dealing with the company that if you you know,
see the world from a biblical worldview, you see it
from a more conservative worldview. You're dealing with a company
that does too. As a matter of fact, you know,
celebrating Trump going back in as president. They've got a

(51:12):
cool item that they just released and they're going to
sell out. It's called the My Cross Necklace now thirty
percent off, hand crafted in America. For women, there's the
reversible Cross that's Onyx style with black enamel. It's got
a protective clear coating on one side, white mother of
Pearl style translucent on the other. Also for men, you

(51:35):
get the Onyx style too with the black enamel, but
it's got a protective clear coating and they're sterling silver
and they're anti tarnish fine jewelry. So if you go
right now, you'll get your mind Cross necklace for thirty
percent off using our code big Vox, and you'll love these.

Speaker 3 (51:53):
These are really cool.

Speaker 2 (51:54):
The my pillows right now, Yeah, we're talking the Standard
fourteen ninety eight, the Queen eighteen ninety eight, the King
nineteen ninety eight. Great savings right now, So go to
my Pillow dot com slash big Vox and also go
to Rick burgesshow dot com under the sponsors. That's the
other option for you. All right, So speedy, I see
you toying around over there.

Speaker 3 (52:16):
What do you mess? It was?

Speaker 2 (52:20):
I was getting into my ring Central account, the ring
Central app, and I got to be honest, I'm like
Greg a little bit sometimes that just that that skips
my mind on checking that because there's so many other
ways to contact us and we can barely keep up
with that, and this is just another one. But there's
gold that is there if we just do it and check. Okay,

(52:44):
and I'm in on my account and I have fifty voicemails.

Speaker 3 (52:48):
You do, yes, fifty? So you did you think some
of those go back to I don't know.

Speaker 2 (52:53):
I'm sitting here looking at the how do you check it?

Speaker 3 (52:55):
I'm on checking?

Speaker 2 (52:56):
Yeah, well we want you just return an email. Yeah,
some of these go back. Uh wow, I've got some
back to twenty seventeen.

Speaker 4 (53:06):
I was about to say, but you'd never check your voice.

Speaker 2 (53:09):
I don't know, but maybe that's another I think we
know whoever had that office line. I think it some
of it's then, But ok, I have had one two, three, four, five, six,
about six or seven within the last week or two,
so I need to check them.

Speaker 4 (53:23):
Those are probably important.

Speaker 2 (53:25):
And the first when I the reason I was giggling
is because I checked it in the first ten seconds
of the voicemail.

Speaker 3 (53:29):
It made me start laughing. Okay, all right, so I
didn't even see one up where you go, Hey, great,
we got that, buddy.

Speaker 2 (53:34):
We know we've already done great, won't you right now,
Let's greg, let's not overwhelm you today. Let's remember that.
Let's let's do this today today. Don't lose your all
access pass and figure out where where you're supposed to be,
what time you're supposed to do to get it in.

Speaker 4 (53:46):
Let's just make that.

Speaker 2 (53:47):
Let's just say, let's just keep it small today, you know,
let's just concentrate on the next thing. I would like
to see both of your phones in the break and
set y'all up to where you can check it anywhere.

Speaker 3 (53:57):
I'd like checking just to hear what's on there. Okay,
all right? Some good hey, and you know there's some
that they're just dog in us. That's my favorite.

Speaker 2 (54:06):
I'm can I tell you this, Like you said before,
some of the complimentary comments and everything very encouraging. But
I'll tell you some of those that just hate us,
they're also funny in their own way, except for the
one creative, except for the one that called for everyone
to kill us. Yeah there's a line. Yeah, I got
to deal with that today. Yeah, yeah, so I can't

(54:29):
do that.

Speaker 3 (54:30):
Boy, he's really worried about the show and on things
that are important.

Speaker 2 (54:33):
Of course, sadly he's about to go to jail.

Speaker 4 (54:35):
But anyway, it is so.

Speaker 3 (54:38):
But back to the other.

Speaker 2 (54:41):
Greg, if you'll let me set you up in that,
then you can have it, okay, and then let's we'll
write everything down because in.

Speaker 3 (54:49):
A month and then so you can't get back in it.
But did you know I don't even know how to
phone the office. Yeah, it was piled up.

Speaker 9 (54:57):
I'll tell you why.

Speaker 2 (54:57):
You know, you know, you know why he didn't know
he had to He couldn't see past all the Jimmy.

Speaker 4 (55:01):
Dean he's got stored in there.

Speaker 2 (55:03):
You know that nobody else can see peanuts, Jimmy Dean,
all that in there. All right, So a couple of
things to hit you guys. Anybody going into the weekend,
anybody interested.

Speaker 4 (55:18):
Uh in the playoffs?

Speaker 2 (55:20):
I mean, we've got it, we got an we got
an NFC in an AFC championship.

Speaker 3 (55:25):
Spoke to uh Kinne wish Washington went in it. Well,
I know everybody likes them. Oh, I got a long
shut Cinderella story.

Speaker 2 (55:30):
Let me warn you about this game even more now
you're not gonna feel any better about it. I talked
to my rabid Lines fan yesterday and he was down.

Speaker 3 (55:38):
But he they thought it was their year.

Speaker 4 (55:39):
But here's what he said.

Speaker 2 (55:41):
He said, what everybody, which you don't know, which I
don't because I don't follow it, and I certainly don't
follow the lines. He said, we've had at one time
twenty one injuries on defense, and he said our defense
was dismantled.

Speaker 3 (55:53):
We were going out twenty one injuries. That means first
and second strings.

Speaker 4 (55:56):
Out, which we said.

Speaker 2 (55:57):
He said, we were shopping other teams now signing practice
squad people to now play for the Lines. And he said,
so some of this you're seeing about the Commander's offense
kind of running through us like we were nothing. Our
defense is completely dismantled. So now that worries me because
the Eagles they're not dismantled.

Speaker 3 (56:16):
And uh and so kind of banged his knee up.

Speaker 2 (56:19):
Yeah, this commodore, this, this Commander is whatever they're called.
The Commander's victory now to me is even more tainted.
And and I think we're set up for maybe an
NFC championship that is underwhelming.

Speaker 3 (56:29):
So that's Sunday at two. Yeah, so you have that.

Speaker 9 (56:32):
So I'll be underwhelmed at too.

Speaker 3 (56:34):
Got you can can The Bills? I just can't get.
They've got beat four times in a row. They had
a four year run at Super Bowls, which is something
nobody will ever come close to matching. Losing four times
in a row. Can they get back? I don't know.

Speaker 2 (56:49):
They've got to go through Kansas City, not just playing,
but play there.

Speaker 3 (56:52):
Yeah, and everybody.

Speaker 6 (56:53):
Taylor Swift is going to be there doing spells.

Speaker 2 (56:58):
By the way for the Bills on the road. Five
and four. Now, the record's good, but it's boy. They
do better at home, Yeah, they do. So anyway, I
don't know the Bills. You know, the Chiefs are just
that team. The Bills just can't seem they just can't
get past them. And they'll beat them the regular season. Well,
thanks a big deal.

Speaker 4 (57:18):
So so Bill, that's the pattern.

Speaker 9 (57:21):
Beat him in the regular season. They're losing the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (57:23):
Yep, thank you.

Speaker 9 (57:24):
It's crazy man.

Speaker 3 (57:26):
So so those are the two games coming up.

Speaker 6 (57:30):
Why didn't they go with weekend the Washington like Warriors.
They could have kept the Picture Warriors, they could have
kept the redskin.

Speaker 2 (57:39):
They split and you know they've played twice Washington and
Philly and they split.

Speaker 3 (57:44):
And so it's gonna be a good game. Can the
rookie handle the pressure? I think it can.

Speaker 9 (57:49):
Hurts, don't it?

Speaker 3 (57:51):
Bottom of the hour.

Speaker 1 (57:53):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (58:10):
Absolutely, thank you for being with us today. We're having
a blast. We hope you are too. We're updating you
on uh many things today.

Speaker 4 (58:22):
So speedy is we're.

Speaker 2 (58:24):
Trying to do another round of Rick checks his office email,
I mean office voicemail.

Speaker 3 (58:29):
Now gregsat me saying so.

Speaker 2 (58:32):
And of course now the guys are discovering they actually
have office voicemails. I was hoping y'all knew that. But anyway,
and and again, the best way to communicate with us
is always an email usually and so but but you
know sometimes people you know, like the the gold we
found in Dublin, Georgia. Have we heard back from them
on them getting their Bilbot?

Speaker 3 (58:53):
Well?

Speaker 2 (58:53):
I have check mamail, we're all calling with you. But
that's too complicated right now. So I'm I can go
in there whenever you want me to. Anybody want to say,
next segment, Sure, yeah, okay, all right, we'll go in
because I think we got another winner in there on
the on the office voicemail Bill Belichick, North Carolina contract

(59:14):
that tails staggering salary. Now seventy two years old, and
and you know a lot of people are saying Ken,
does he have what he needs at this stage of
his life. Well, and then he keeps he keeps showing
him his girlfriend, and they hurt him say, well, thank,

(59:39):
I've never seen you use as much discernment as.

Speaker 4 (59:43):
For a minute, I don't even know who.

Speaker 3 (59:45):
Took your seat. I had a bunch of good ones.

Speaker 4 (59:47):
I know you did, you even held your mouth.

Speaker 3 (59:48):
It is interesting, I will say this. You think, well,
here we go, ready to retire and just relax. Evidently
he's not based on that.

Speaker 2 (59:56):
He's got ten million reasons why not?

Speaker 3 (59:58):
Yeah, but I'm talking about even before he got this off.
For I mean, he obviously is not living the life
of a seventy two year old. No, no, no, no,
I'm saying, no, Hey, why not, coach.

Speaker 2 (01:00:09):
It's almost like he's sourced some sort of a daredevil,
you know what I mean? Did you've seen this new thing?
Greg doesn't know where to look? How long these new
mars been there?

Speaker 3 (01:00:18):
They give me a headache?

Speaker 4 (01:00:19):
Greg doesn't he didn't stand.

Speaker 3 (01:00:20):
I don't know whether it be on this side. Yeah,
but it's it's it's in my eye. And how is
that perfectly the other side? I don't like it. Go
to the other side, go right there, picking look look
at that. Now you've missed.

Speaker 2 (01:00:41):
You're kind of anything for you?

Speaker 3 (01:00:44):
Bracket makes me cross out. Okay.

Speaker 2 (01:00:46):
By the way, this this is every Christmas, every Christmas
morning I ever ever experienced as a kid. By the way,
By the way, did you you know I was I'm
excited about toy? Grace got some issue with it, did you?
By the way, did you see me posts the picture
that Mom sent me of Greg and I when we
were little boys. Yes, at our at our aunt's winning

(01:01:08):
and that have you seen just a look on his face,
just the way he's been there if you if you
follow me on Instagram, it was what was that about
a week ago or something kind of time?

Speaker 3 (01:01:19):
A few days the picture I mean you here.

Speaker 2 (01:01:21):
Yeah, I did a time hob big brother of Greg
and I, Greg and I modern, and then I went
back to us as little boys. And I mean Greg's
looking right at whoever took this picture, and just that
little look on his face. I mean he just probably
just got a weapon. Yeah, he just looks so maan
in that tiny little touch.

Speaker 3 (01:01:38):
It's on your Instagram.

Speaker 2 (01:01:39):
Yeah, it says as time Hop is that underneath? And it's
got a picture of me and Greg in the new studio?

Speaker 3 (01:01:47):
Yeah? Now right down down? No other way? Other way?

Speaker 4 (01:01:53):
What come right? Yes, it's pretty neat.

Speaker 2 (01:01:56):
Come down underneath the man church. The next one right there,
that's it.

Speaker 4 (01:02:01):
Click on that.

Speaker 2 (01:02:01):
Then go to picture too. You flip to a different picture.

Speaker 3 (01:02:04):
Yeah, yeah, you go to the second.

Speaker 2 (01:02:07):
Yeah, you go to the second picture and it's it's
Greg and I as there it is.

Speaker 3 (01:02:13):
Okay, look at that face. I'm probably four.

Speaker 2 (01:02:18):
Look at Greg's face, and you don't look like.

Speaker 3 (01:02:21):
You're exactly you were looking at the bag of rice.
I am playing with a bag of rice. Figured out
how you can throw it at Yeah. I didn't like
having bow tyes.

Speaker 9 (01:02:28):
No I can. I can sense the bad attitude coming through.

Speaker 4 (01:02:31):
Didn't you see those eyes. Just look into those eyes.

Speaker 3 (01:02:34):
Grig was a little bit taller than me.

Speaker 2 (01:02:40):
I was, of course the man child that everybody thought
was going to be like a part of the Nephilm.
But then I leveled out at this point though. I
Mom did tell me as much as I was getting
on Greg. She said, no, Greg misbehaved more than you
at this wedding. But you're the one who sat down
during the ceremony. You got tunderstanding.

Speaker 4 (01:02:58):
And it was on that the praying bench, yeah, she said.

Speaker 2 (01:03:02):
She said they had they had the praying bench for
my aunt and her husband, and I saw.

Speaker 4 (01:03:07):
It as a bench to sit down on and so.

Speaker 3 (01:03:10):
And keep You know, your parents are in the wedding party,
so they're lying up on each side, do anything.

Speaker 2 (01:03:14):
So then then they look and then you know Greg's over,
you know, making faces at people in the crowd, and
I'm sitting on the prayer bench because I'm tired of
stand it.

Speaker 3 (01:03:21):
Would I handle? Yeah, I don't.

Speaker 9 (01:03:23):
I'm just resting in the lord ricks.

Speaker 3 (01:03:26):
Obviously, I don't remember it really in my mind. I
kind of do, but Mom always telling me one of
my granddad's brothers told me to stick my tongue out
everybody when I came down the aisle and she said,
I actually did it. Of course you did. They set
me up. So what uncles are for.

Speaker 2 (01:03:41):
That's when as a parent you're like, you become Jeff Dunham.

Speaker 3 (01:03:46):
Yeah, it's the worst.

Speaker 2 (01:03:49):
So yeah, you hit it right back to back to Belichick.
So it's going to go through the end of twenty
twenty nine.

Speaker 3 (01:03:56):
Okay, wait a minute, so it says old twenty four.

Speaker 2 (01:04:00):
More years, so so they think he can get to
seventy six.

Speaker 3 (01:04:04):
I guess.

Speaker 2 (01:04:05):
So he's making ten million as as Speedy just said,
ten million per season per season. Now here's it's all
these incentive things they do with coaches because they say
it'll actually be turned in that his official base.

Speaker 3 (01:04:19):
Salary is one million.

Speaker 2 (01:04:22):
A year, so I guess they find all these different
ways to give him more. How they allot the money.

Speaker 3 (01:04:27):
You know, some universities also you can't make more than
like the president of the university or something, so they
got to get around that.

Speaker 2 (01:04:33):
I know Mack Brown was making more than a million.
Oh yeah, but I guess the way they structured this,
well you even see this with high school coaches. Now
they'll have a base salary and then you look at
all these other ways they get paid by different things.

Speaker 3 (01:04:46):
Yeah, so there it is. Look at what do y'all think?
What do y'all? Will he be successful? Yeah? You see
that football. He's getting quite a staff.

Speaker 2 (01:04:54):
Yeah, well, you know, hiring pro coaches to what now
is another version of pro football is probably the way
to go, I think, cap Yeah, he's familiar with your
players leaving because they get better deals and be free
agents and all that.

Speaker 6 (01:05:10):
Yeah, and we know that he can relate to college
age students, so that's good.

Speaker 9 (01:05:14):
Yeah, right, has a lot in common with them, my guess.

Speaker 2 (01:05:17):
Yeah, well look at it this way, Adler. With the players.
You would once to say, my coach is a father
figure to me. Now my coach is a grandfather figure too.

Speaker 9 (01:05:27):
Hey, nobody hit on coach's girlfriend?

Speaker 2 (01:05:29):
Oh well you know that.

Speaker 3 (01:05:31):
Yeah, that's you.

Speaker 2 (01:05:33):
Just didn't think if your head football coach was seventy
two that the term nobody hit on coach's girlfriend would
go around a college football team.

Speaker 3 (01:05:41):
You would think, you know, I'm not. I don't know
how long this loving relationship has been going on. Whatever
since he fired, retired, whatever happened, But he had a
lot of time on his hands. Then well, now it's
fixing change. Yeah, he's gonna have a lot. It's gonna
be a very busy man. And he's seventy two. There's
gonna be a lot of things. Do you think you
don't know if he can keep it up?

Speaker 2 (01:06:02):
Do you think he falls into the category And I
look at it, and that's not what I'm Yeah, I agree,
I promise, I thank you. I have a lot of friends, Greg,
you do too speedy. You may now you're you're getting older,
too out or probably not yet. But a lot of
friends that you know retired and they were able to
retire and they're go getters. They get you know, some

(01:06:22):
people when they retire it's actually a better life for
them because even when they were working, it seemed like
they were retired. Uh and they and now they just
can guilt free go do what they appeared to.

Speaker 3 (01:06:33):
Be doing anyway, even when they had a job.

Speaker 2 (01:06:35):
And so so, but then there's those people that retirement
is such a change for them. And they may even
if they have hobbies. We've all had this. I know
of too, I can name right now. And they love
to hunt and fish and do all that, and they
had so much time to do it. They did so
much of it. One of the quotes was, I've caught
all the fish there is to catch in the Gulf
of Mexico. Another person's like, I've you know, I've cut grass,

(01:07:00):
I've changed my yard, I've chopped wood, you know, I've
gone hunting and fishing. And they finally just say, I'm
going back to work because I just need the business
of a job, even if they financially don't need it.

Speaker 3 (01:07:12):
They need the lie busy basic ones that retire early.
Yeah around going in.

Speaker 2 (01:07:17):
Yeah, I could not believe that the friend of ours
went back coaching after you've been retired. And at one
time we just we caught him on a game camera
just riding a bicycle. Yeah, he hated retiree in the outdoors.
And I'm like, what are you doing on the bicycles.
I'm just trying to find stuff to do. He said,
I've trimmed every bush and yeah, you know, and and
caught all the fish and.

Speaker 9 (01:07:37):
Yeah, so sure that it's crazy. I can't I still
can't believe she's twenty four.

Speaker 4 (01:07:42):
Twenty four.

Speaker 2 (01:07:44):
Who thinks she's in love with a seventy two year
old football coach.

Speaker 3 (01:07:48):
She also liked that contract he just got.

Speaker 2 (01:07:50):
She should be dating my middle son JC. I have
sons that are two over her right by the way,
I'm sorry, it's Gulf of America.

Speaker 3 (01:08:02):
That's all mate.

Speaker 1 (01:08:03):
Yeah, this is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 6 (01:08:16):
Dese don't tell, then boutin he don't tell, then bataind.

Speaker 1 (01:08:29):
The man who removed the phrase what's your new good
from Society?

Speaker 7 (01:08:35):
Rick hurting me?

Speaker 2 (01:08:41):
All right, so we got a lot to cover. Okay,

houting thanks for being with us. Some things you might

Her Down.

Speaker 2 (01:08:59):
You got ten bits from the final year ten or eleven,
and then you have about the same amount of deep
cuts that seem to be popular on Best of shows.

Speaker 3 (01:09:08):
All of them are.

Speaker 2 (01:09:10):
Never been on the Best of CD except for the
Joe Carwash, but that's because of the name of the CD.
So that is on streaming now, so go get it. Also,
tomorrow you'll have the second episode of Rick and Bubba's
Greatest Hits, the new podcast Get That wherever you get

him at the maintain, and then Gary will be there

this spring. So looking forward to you seeing that to
and we'll talk about that a little bit at the conference.
So looking forward to seeing all of you and that
coming up this weekend, starting tonight. All right, so we're
gonna this is Rick Check's office voicemail.

Speaker 3 (01:10:13):
All right, we.

Speaker 4 (01:10:16):
What do I do?

Speaker 8 (01:10:17):
All Right?

Speaker 2 (01:10:17):
So it looks like so pot your channel upright, and
it looks like the bottom one is the first the
first voicemail.

Speaker 3 (01:10:23):
The bottom one.

Speaker 2 (01:10:24):
Yeah, that he's the top one, No, because I listened
to the first part and he's doing it. And then
the second one is, Hey, here's the second one or something.
I don't know. So I'm sorry, what now, just try
the first one, and I think that's the first of
the two. And we've got Rick through Ring Central through
his phone. He's signed in, so we don't have to
go into this. Okay, So so now you can check
your voicemail from anywhere, all sure, but.

Speaker 3 (01:10:46):
Play them both.

Speaker 2 (01:10:47):
Yeah, I think the bottom one is first. I think
you do? Yeah, I do you think?

Speaker 8 (01:10:57):
Hey, Rick, this is show Hunt Jack and I'm trying
out for the new segment of Rick checks his voice,
smel I have a wrap about deer hunting to the
tune of Little.

Speaker 3 (01:11:10):
P Okay.

Speaker 8 (01:11:13):
And it goes like this. My name is show Hunt Jack,
killing deer. That's the fact.

Speaker 3 (01:11:21):
Hunt deer.

Speaker 8 (01:11:22):
Yeah, baby, hunt deer. Three hundred yards. There's no big
seat far or near. Just let it eat. Well, I
messed it up. I'm glad I practiced on this. I
can get it together. Maybe do it on the air.
May go worse, may go better, but call me back

(01:11:43):
and whenever you get this and all.

Speaker 3 (01:11:46):
Right, so then go see if I can do it.

Speaker 2 (01:11:48):
H I said, Now, I guess, I guess he calls back.

Speaker 3 (01:11:51):
Yeah, I'm assuming. I don't know. I'm so uncomfortable.

Speaker 4 (01:11:54):
Now, okay, you are right over there.

Speaker 3 (01:11:55):
Now I'm not okay.

Speaker 8 (01:11:56):
Here we go.

Speaker 4 (01:11:57):
See he's called back.

Speaker 8 (01:11:58):
Now, hey Rick, this is all number two before a
Rick checks his voice, smell number. This is a show
hunt Jack and I have a hunting wrap to the
tune of Little p and it goes like this. My
name is show hunt Jack killing deer. Now that's the fact.
The hunt deer, yeah, baby, hunt did three hundred yards.

(01:12:23):
This is no big feet. Put the hammer down and
let her eat.

Speaker 3 (01:12:27):
A hunt deer. Yeah, baby, hunt deer.

Speaker 8 (01:12:32):
I asked Rick Burgess, say if I can go? His
simple reply was just no, hunt deer by yourself and
my deer. Yeah, baby hunts, hunts. Speedy is his right
hand man. When it comes to his wallet. He's always me.
He hunt deer, yeah, baby, hunt deer. I got to

(01:12:54):
hunt with Donald Trump. He told me that Greg was
a rump a hunt deer with a smell. He you're
a hunt deer, yeah, baby, hunt hunt. Eddie van Adler
hunked with a boat during gun season. Who don't you
know a hunt deer?

Speaker 15 (01:13:12):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:13:13):
Baby?

Speaker 8 (01:13:13):
Did you know? He's a really small man, so he's
going with you? Put him in the tass hand. I
messed up a little more, but I got you kind
of got the gist of it. You have a line
about Jeffy, but I didn't include it. Jeffy, I got
a good friend. His name is Jeffy. His right hand

(01:13:35):
doesn't work. He's a lefty. No, it's terrible, but I
left that out on the audition.

Speaker 3 (01:13:41):
Thank you, buddy.

Speaker 8 (01:13:42):
Two o five.

Speaker 3 (01:13:46):
All right, we met shown Hunt Jack on the your ender. Yeah.
Many times when I meet people that I've only heard
their voice, they never match up. He looked exactly like
I thought he was. Yeah, made him to I could
have picked him out of they said show Hunt Jack
is out here? Which one is? Yeah, man, that's him there.
He is nice guy. He really wants to go hunt

(01:14:07):
Rick hunt Deer. That was pretty good. Yeah, it was
my favorite when he messed it up the first time.
So has Larry called back? He hadn't. I have not
heard from Larry.

Speaker 2 (01:14:19):
But I'm just saying, because that's your phone right there,
that's your office now, all right show yeah he he he.

Speaker 3 (01:14:29):
It was interesting. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:14:31):
I don't know on Larry and and and Carolyn. I
don't know whether you know, because what they wanted to do,
it became pretty clear hunt Deer was. But it became
pretty pretty clear that that he that that they just

(01:14:52):
wanted to come on this show, put out their address,
street address and tell people to send them police patches
and check on coins and and we we were kind
of for their own good because I think people underestimate
I know, let me say this, I completely understand. No,
I wouldn't if I heard this show. It would never

(01:15:12):
dawn on me that there's like, you know, between one
and two million people that actually listen.

Speaker 3 (01:15:18):
I would.

Speaker 2 (01:15:19):
I wouldn't think that either. So he probably thinks, you know,
it's just gonna be the community there.

Speaker 3 (01:15:23):
And get that. May they think it was a local
Dublin show or I think so yeah, yeah, And they
were like, you know, they think they understood syndication. That's
a good point. Yeah, so so yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:15:36):
So I think that when we yes, I think when
we started pressing for a po box, I think they
may be like me, and and I think at one
point it just got so complicated for him they just
gave up.

Speaker 8 (01:15:48):
Mmm.

Speaker 3 (01:15:49):
Yeah, right, you're probably right.

Speaker 8 (01:15:51):
But a lot.

Speaker 2 (01:15:52):
But we gave out their website address, so, which was
quite lengthy. So yeah, very hard if everybody got that mail,
I mean the website address. Didn't we accomplish what we
needed to?

Speaker 3 (01:16:03):
Yeah, because you can, you can, you can contact them
there right now.

Speaker 2 (01:16:07):
My prediction is in about three weeks, they're going to
call you back and they're gonna ask us if Greg
has the patches to send them?

Speaker 3 (01:16:15):
Yeah, you know, and I know that's what they're gonna do, right,
They're going to see how many of you got to
send them? Yes, because that's all they heard out of it.

Speaker 9 (01:16:22):
That's people. Just know that you can send us the
patches and send them on.

Speaker 3 (01:16:26):
We're going to look in the hallway a boss.

Speaker 2 (01:16:28):
Greg is gonna load him up and he's gonna on
his way, drop by cooked springs, drop off a few
tennis balls, and then he's rolling on to Dublin, Georgia. Yeah,
with police patches and maybe two or three challenge coins.

Speaker 3 (01:16:42):
Just did you already have two? Was your was your
favorite thing?

Speaker 5 (01:16:45):
On that?

Speaker 3 (01:16:45):
When I have refused to.

Speaker 9 (01:16:48):
So you have doubles.

Speaker 3 (01:16:50):
You when you called that? That was on X. I'm
not a mam.

Speaker 2 (01:16:55):
I'm Larry Yeah right, yeah, yeah, that's love Larry. Yeah,
what a great couple. O show show hunt Jack. His
song's not faring well on text.

Speaker 3 (01:17:05):
No, it wouldn't. No, what did you say? I thought
it was great? Where were you on it? Speak? Huh
did you?

Speaker 16 (01:17:12):
Did you like it?

Speaker 2 (01:17:13):
I was looking at him more as just it's just
having fun, So I was okay.

Speaker 3 (01:17:17):
The first time he messed up, I cringed a little
bit everything. If he had the music like you know,
if he had little piece of music instrumental, it might
have ye know, he was doing it of the pedals
with top of the hour.

Speaker 1 (01:17:31):
This is the Rick Burchers Show, Big the Fox Entertainment Preece.
Sam's the Rick Burchers Show with Speedy with butchers and

(01:17:53):
he's fad.

Speaker 2 (01:17:54):
I'd love it and Rick, but the gangs are here.
Let's move forward, fired up and ready to go for
a brand new hour.

Speaker 3 (01:18:06):
I hope you'll be part of it. Our numbers eight
eight eights the number six.

Speaker 9 (01:18:12):
Big vox.

Speaker 2 (01:18:15):
You can text us to same number eight eight eight
six two four four eight six ' nine. Rick Burgessshow
dot com is the website for all things show.

Speaker 3 (01:18:26):
That's all there.

Speaker 2 (01:18:27):
Would you like to come to the Manchurch conference in Birmingham.
It starts tonight at six. The doors open to six.
We'll start at seven. But if you don't have tickets.
Still a handful of remain. You can grab those at
the manchurch dot com and just bring those with you.
No one will be selling them at the door. You
can put them at We'll call if you want to.

(01:18:48):
But I mean with electronic ticketing, you can just print
it out and come on. So so grab those and
we will look forward to seeing you. For those of
you that are coming from all over the country. Sixteen
different states, tickets have been claimed and men who are
doing most all of them the Men's Discipleship strategy from
themanchurch dot Com. If you're listening to this week's Bible study,

(01:19:10):
you know we've just went over twenty three hundred churches
that are doing this. We think somewhere between forty and
fifty thousand men a week in the curriculum, and so
most of these are groups coming from all over. It's
kind of their retreat. If Birmingham doesn't work for you,
there's another one in Panama City coming up in February

(01:19:32):
and on to Atlanta. But this is the first one. Tonight,
Greg and Speedy and Adler will be there.

Speaker 3 (01:19:38):
Gary will be there.

Speaker 2 (01:19:39):
Hey, what time am I supposed to make the meeting?
And so we think Greg's got his passes. We think
he's gonna be all right.

Speaker 3 (01:19:47):
So we're ready to go.

Speaker 2 (01:19:48):
So a couple of things to update you own when
it comes to the Trump administration now rolling in executive
order here, Executive order there, implementation. And you know we
played wasn't that long ago when we played this, you
know some of this new information? Here it comes again.

(01:20:09):
I can't here. Here we go the John F. Kennedy assassination.
You know, I think we're pretty clear on the Martin
Luther King assassination. However, it is included in this Robert
Kennedy that seems pretty straightforward.

Speaker 4 (01:20:25):
But John F.

Speaker 2 (01:20:26):
Kennedy, that one has been boy, it has been the
focus of much of folklore and and conspiracy theories. And
then some things that look pretty legit that are not.
They don't make you feel great. So here's Trump. He
says he's going to sign the executive order de classifying

(01:20:47):
all information on Robert Kennedy's death, assassination, John F. Kennedy's assassination,
and Martin Luther King Junior's assassination, de classifying all of it. Okay, lastly, sir,
we have executive order ordering the declassification of files relating
to the assassinations of President John F.

Speaker 3 (01:21:06):
Kennedy, Senator Robert F.

Speaker 9 (01:21:08):
Kennedy, and Reverend doctor Martin Luther King June.

Speaker 1 (01:21:11):
That's a big one.

Speaker 8 (01:21:12):
Huh.

Speaker 11 (01:21:14):
People are waiting for this for a long for years,
for decades. Everything will be revealed.

Speaker 3 (01:21:26):
Oh my, okay, wow, the big one took.

Speaker 9 (01:21:36):
He said, give that pen that he signed it to
to R. F.

Speaker 3 (01:21:39):
K Junior. Yeah, I saw that coming. Then, thanks for that, Greg.
All right? And Greg, so you're you're really, you're really,
you're you're on the path. And then I am, I am,
I'm proud of it, but I am no, you really
should be. So everything.

Speaker 2 (01:21:59):
Is in Uh, let me tell you something. When you
hear when you hear Trump, dude, this is a big one.
Here comes a big one.

Speaker 3 (01:22:11):
And this signature he's got. Have y'all seen it? I
don't know what that is.

Speaker 2 (01:22:14):
Elaborate, It's very elaborate. It's a beautiful signature, the greatest
signature ever. But so what do y'all think, guys, I mean,
here we go. Are we going to find out anything
shocking or is it just the same. Well, this this
thing we played not that long ago, where the son

(01:22:36):
finds his daddy's stuff and in there is a recording
that he's a right hand guy to Johnson, and he said,
you know, I kept telling him that's not a good idea.
We don't need to do this, but I went along
with it because I was loyal to him. That was
something that was his biggest regret or something. Idler played
that and we just ended the show.

Speaker 3 (01:22:54):
It was the last thing on the show.

Speaker 2 (01:22:56):
Okay, So Johnson set up for Kennedy to be assassinated tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (01:23:04):
Let that a little bit. Yeah, so uh so.

Speaker 2 (01:23:09):
Anyway, uh next, now, hold on, do you think when
it all comes out, it'll it'll come out the way
we want it to or we'll be like, oh.

Speaker 3 (01:23:17):
Man, that's that's all we know.

Speaker 2 (01:23:18):
Okay, I'm gonna say this based on the moment underwhelm
y'all keep talking about if this Son's recording is legit,
we we already we're gonna find out that Johnson ordered it,
arranged it.

Speaker 3 (01:23:33):
You know however you want to put it that you're
gonna find Johnson at the bottom of it. Yeah, I mean,
and unless that guy just found some recording that was
not a real recording.

Speaker 9 (01:23:42):
And I think I think this could be a.

Speaker 6 (01:23:46):
Kind of a signal that Trump is trying to get
out there, like, hey, intelligence community, I can I can
play I can play dirty too, I can play rough too.

Speaker 9 (01:23:55):
So I think that, uh Trump is I think.

Speaker 6 (01:23:59):
He's sent in a message by releasing this stuff. Yeah,
I mean you you have two, you have two attempts
on your life. You're president, You're back, You're mad.

Speaker 3 (01:24:10):
I would be mad too, right, all right? So, uh,
is that is that real? Yeah? That is it? Is
that real? I just compare that to the number we
have that is real. It's the number I'm not prepared
that now. Larry and Carolyn are using the text option.

Speaker 4 (01:24:25):
Yeah, I just asked. I had no idea. Okay, so
do I read it.

Speaker 3 (01:24:30):
Yeah, we've got a little issue here. Yeah, we got
this is.

Speaker 2 (01:24:32):
Larry and Carolyn. We we cannot get a PO box.
There is none to get the post offices out of them. Wow,
I've never heard of that before. Okay, you are gonna
have to mail them. I want to ask Larry and
Carolyn this. What did they think of show hunt Jack's
rap right.

Speaker 3 (01:24:51):
Fever list? They didn't see that one coming. Uh So
I'm just curious.

Speaker 2 (01:24:55):
So, I mean I'm to the point now I'd like
to know, could you find this out speedy because I
know you're connected to them?

Speaker 3 (01:25:00):
Uh huh, as I have.

Speaker 2 (01:25:03):
Can we just say, when people go to your website,
is your address this there? I mean, can can they
get them to you just by going to your your
They didn't care if they if they think. He said
that it wasn't but that's why he was so it.

Speaker 3 (01:25:15):
Would be on the website. You remember when it seems
like if you had a website where you want.

Speaker 2 (01:25:18):
To try to get patches on that website, it would
say send us patches here, right, it's a it's a
it's a morning's to send us patches website, isn't it?

Speaker 1 (01:25:27):
I thought?

Speaker 4 (01:25:28):
Yeah, collective was clearly even in the very long title, I.

Speaker 9 (01:25:31):
Could never get their website to work. By the way,
did you ever type it in.

Speaker 3 (01:25:33):
And at work? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:25:34):
Matter fact, Google knew what I was talking about, jumped
and jumped up in there on.

Speaker 17 (01:25:37):
There for me.

Speaker 6 (01:25:38):
Well that's what I'm saying that I had to google it.
I could never get their official site to work for me.

Speaker 3 (01:25:43):
Well now that, yeah, then then we're saying the same thing. Okay, yeah,
this is gonna have to call back in. Somebody says
buying them has some matches and they need me to
come out of them up the way please, Greg. And
if you don't go down buying them leather Wood, I'm furious.
I'm furious right through downtown. Seriously, you are going to
have to get him to him that's out of the
house to do it, all right. So it looks like

(01:26:05):
what Speedy did for Vicky question, Greg, You've got to
do for this? Yeah, goodness.

Speaker 6 (01:26:08):
And for people that don't know what we're talking about,
there's a really nice old couple that collects fire department
patches and for some reason, we're helping them.

Speaker 3 (01:26:16):
All right.

Speaker 2 (01:26:17):
Somebody said the website says send patches to Rick Burgess show.

Speaker 3 (01:26:20):
I just read it.

Speaker 2 (01:26:23):
That'sching, Greg. Okay, I'm not sure that person's joking. All right,
So one more we got a couple more. Uh, here's
Trump on TikTok yesterday talking about, you know, because they
got shut down and then he said he was going
to get it going again.

Speaker 3 (01:26:38):
Is it dangerous? Are they spying on his china all that? Here?

Speaker 8 (01:26:41):
He is?

Speaker 13 (01:26:42):
Now?

Speaker 18 (01:26:42):
Maybe that's because they went on TikTok. I don't know,
but I have I'm sarting to have.

Speaker 1 (01:26:45):
A very warm stogg was going to be sold, right.

Speaker 18 (01:26:48):
I think TikTok's want to be people like, people want
to buy it, people want to die.

Speaker 1 (01:26:53):
But those that say they know say it, say a
spying app for the communist change.

Speaker 18 (01:27:00):
But but you can say that about everything made in China. Look,
we have our telephones made in China for the most point.
We have so many things made in China. So why
don't they mention that, you know? I mean, it's an
interesting thing with TikTok though, is you're dealing with a
lot of young people, so they love it. Isn't that
important for China to be spying on young people, on
young kids watching crazy videos?

Speaker 1 (01:27:20):
I think I don't want China spying on anybody.

Speaker 18 (01:27:22):
No, no, But but but they make your telephones, and
they make your computers, and they make a lot of
other things.

Speaker 3 (01:27:28):
Isn't that a bigger threat?

Speaker 9 (01:27:30):
I mean, he brings up good point.

Speaker 3 (01:27:32):
He does.

Speaker 2 (01:27:32):
All right, next and we'll close this one. Here he
is talking about President's G and they had a good discussion.

Speaker 3 (01:27:40):
Yes, and I love that Trump corrects him that that
G actually called him. So so here it is he
called me and.

Speaker 9 (01:27:48):
This is from the world.

Speaker 3 (01:27:49):
That's who's that Trump? That's Trump.

Speaker 6 (01:27:54):
And this is in the World Economic Forum. Trump gave
it to the world, an economic forum for like forty
men in it.

Speaker 3 (01:28:02):
Here's given the President of Bank.

Speaker 16 (01:28:04):
America, right and me know that, Uh you called President
Jahimping last Friday.

Speaker 3 (01:28:13):
We heard that you had a good discussion.

Speaker 17 (01:28:15):
How do you see the relationship between the US and
China in the next four years under your leadership?

Speaker 3 (01:28:23):
He called me.

Speaker 7 (01:28:29):
I didn't call him.

Speaker 16 (01:28:29):
He called me.

Speaker 3 (01:28:32):
All right, we'll be back. Phone calls her next.

Speaker 2 (01:28:36):

(01:31:04):
Sarge Out a Sweet Home, Alabama.

Speaker 3 (01:31:06):
Sarge Welcome morn Fellas.

Speaker 13 (01:31:11):
So, as a youth minister, we're going to camp this summer.

Speaker 8 (01:31:14):
Andy Blanks is one of our speakers, and.

Speaker 2 (01:31:19):
As a prior Air Force veteran, I'd like to know
how to lay some second hand embarrassment on a marine.

Speaker 4 (01:31:24):
Oh well, let me.

Speaker 2 (01:31:25):
Tell you with Andy, it won't take much. Do you
have any people that are slightly socially awkward in any way?

Speaker 13 (01:31:33):
Well, I can play that way.

Speaker 3 (01:31:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:31:35):
He struggs struggles with anything that is socially awkward. You know,
if you were to go up to him and say,
this is one that he really struggles with. Matter of fact,
it's it's a top five and that is impromptu singing.
Impromptu singing is almost like kryptonite to him. So if

(01:31:56):
you want to come up to him, say Andy, great
to meet you man. I've been listening to the show
for years and have great respect for you and by
the way, your youth are in for an incredible weekend.
He's an outstanding teacher. And you can say, and you know,
I'm kind of fired up, matter of fact. I you know,
I don't know if you maybe you tell me who
I can talk to, but I'd love to get up
and maybe sing something. Uh, and then you look at

(01:32:18):
him and start going, you know, and just start singing
Acappello that it ain't't get any better than that.

Speaker 3 (01:32:26):
Yeah, yeah, sing the Marine Corps song for him something.

Speaker 2 (01:32:29):
Yes, I just want to show you some respect and
from the Z and I mean and just and please
be so confidently bad.

Speaker 3 (01:32:37):
Yeah. He will, he will, he will just melt. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:32:40):
And and maybe even had like a staff meeting before
y'all go out, but kind of behind the scenes. But
but like let the staff know that you're gonna like
struggle on what you want to say and and like
get emotional and stuff, and and just let him just
be standing right there looking at you. Yeah, And it's
not bad for you to maybe just to one are
out there when he starts and and look around not

(01:33:02):
realize you're supposed to be out there to go. I
think I'm in a way, yeah, you know, anything like
this guy. Yeah, great, Yeah, all good stuff, sirs.

Speaker 3 (01:33:10):
You enjoy that. Uh we continue.

Speaker 2 (01:33:13):
William Birmingham, Alabama, one O four seven, w's z K William,
go ahead.

Speaker 19 (01:33:19):
Hey, good morning fellas.

Speaker 3 (01:33:21):
Hey William, Hey, loving the new show. Thank you.

Speaker 19 (01:33:25):
I'm not gonna say I don't miss the old show.

Speaker 12 (01:33:28):
Of course.

Speaker 2 (01:33:29):
The show, Well, let me tell you if nobody thought
the other show was any good, we sured it's been
thirty one years.

Speaker 4 (01:33:36):
Wasting a lot of time.

Speaker 3 (01:33:38):
Uh No, I thought.

Speaker 2 (01:33:39):
I love that body of work. Always be proud of it.
And the good news is most of it you can
enjoy forever.

Speaker 3 (01:33:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 16 (01:33:46):
So I have a suggestion for you, fellas.

Speaker 19 (01:33:48):
Okay, I know with the new show, y'all are trying
to come up with some new contests, maybe some new
games something like that. Yeah, and uh, I'm I'm a
two birth. I do live in the Birmingham area, but
I prefer to watch all on the tube, got it?
And in between the breaks, I see Greg and I
see Addler sometimes Speedy go up there and throw that basketball.

Speaker 3 (01:34:11):
Yep.

Speaker 19 (01:34:12):
And could y'all think about maybe incorporating some type of
contest with with with that object?

Speaker 4 (01:34:19):
Yeah, I agree, Yeah, we should do.

Speaker 2 (01:34:20):
That's a good idea we and we've talked about that
a little bit. I totally agree that we need to
do something with the audience and those that that basketball.

Speaker 3 (01:34:28):
I agree, I agree.

Speaker 2 (01:34:30):
You know, so now the basketball shot did come and
play on Greg ended up being shirtless pumping gas.

Speaker 3 (01:34:36):
True, so it's already producing some good stuff. Yeah, yeah,
that was lost the bet.

Speaker 6 (01:34:40):
Yeah, and you guys, remember we all did the forty.
We ran the forty, and we posted our times. I
think we all needed to do thirty seconds on the basketball.
And I think even guests, if they want to do
it too, see if they can be our scort.

Speaker 4 (01:34:51):
Well, what what would you say on this?

Speaker 3 (01:34:52):
What about this?

Speaker 2 (01:34:53):
We could do that with the vox seats, no doubt,
but we could do callers and say, all right, addlers up,
he's got thirty seconds. How many do you think you'll make?
And then the guy if if you got to, you
got to get it right within two or something.

Speaker 11 (01:35:09):
You know.

Speaker 3 (01:35:09):
Bad?

Speaker 4 (01:35:09):
Yeah, that's not bad.

Speaker 2 (01:35:10):
Adler has one of these at the house. He practices
a lot, so he wants to do.

Speaker 9 (01:35:13):
Something I don't practice that much, like a couple of
thousand shots to night.

Speaker 4 (01:35:16):
That's it to Dan, Dan, Welcome to the rick Burgers Show.

Speaker 3 (01:35:20):
Go ahead, Thank you, sir, thank you pretty sure, you
guys put on, thank you. I got a question for y'all. Okay,
true opinion is with Biden.

Speaker 5 (01:35:29):
Do you think anybody hollered at him when he left?

Speaker 3 (01:35:33):
Don't jump?

Speaker 8 (01:35:35):
Good?

Speaker 3 (01:35:36):
That's good.

Speaker 2 (01:35:37):
That was Oh I was so nervous for Dan for
a minute. I was going to tell him introduce him
to Andy Blanks. But I'll tell you that was actually
a great a great line. Casey, Welcome to the rick
Burgers Show.

Speaker 10 (01:35:49):
Go Yeah.

Speaker 12 (01:35:51):
I'm sorry if y'all have already talked about this, but
so you know, the last four years, things have gone
up obviously, and companies are saying they're raising their prices
because you know, they're not making as much money. But
then you've got companies like Netflix, who has gotten nineteen
million You subscribers in the last quarter, and now they're

(01:36:13):
saying they're raising their prices. So how do we win?

Speaker 3 (01:36:15):
And this is kind of calling it, that's a good question.

Speaker 4 (01:36:17):
Well, I unpacked a little bit.

Speaker 3 (01:36:18):
We come back face.

Speaker 1 (01:36:19):
Casey, this is the Rick Burgess Show. The man who

(01:36:40):
has never been fashionably leaked to anything with.

Speaker 2 (01:36:46):
The gang is all here and we are rolling through
another one and having a blast doing show. Thank you

It wherever you get podcasts. And then in present time,
we have, of course with tales from the Camp House
Business Summit, episode two now on the YouTube channel.

Speaker 4 (01:37:32):
Also, we're looking forward to seeing all of you.

Speaker 2 (01:37:35):
We have you know, different group chats that we're in
and I know Greg's not in this one, but this
one actually goes out to everybody that is running the
conference in Birmingham tonight with the Man Church. This is
from our point Man Les Bradford. Hello, reminder about all

(01:37:55):
your access lanyards. Be praying for the men headed our way.
Talked about that earlier today. See all of you soon.
And Greg this is I'm not adding this, this is
in the group text to the team. Somebody please tell
Greg what time we start tonight.

Speaker 3 (01:38:12):
Tell doctor death. I appreciate it, y'all. Remember that his
mom told you that when he played football, they called
him doctor dead Death.

Speaker 4 (01:38:23):
So watch out by the way. I do appreciate this one.

Speaker 2 (01:38:27):
Very kind, what a kind kind email from one of
the groups of men coming tonight. Got a big group
coming from our church tonight. Sounds great. I want you
guys to know that if if you don't have enough
camera men, I'm ready, let me know.

Speaker 4 (01:38:48):
I'll bring my gear. I just need my access.

Speaker 2 (01:38:51):
Kind Well, that very kind, believe it or not. On
the day of the conference, we actually have all that covered.

Speaker 3 (01:38:57):
But you know you have a backup. If you don't,
we got it back. I think you need to just
go ahead bring his gear.

Speaker 4 (01:39:02):
No that we we've got to back up.

Speaker 3 (01:39:04):
We're good.

Speaker 2 (01:39:04):
But that's Greg when you are. Thank you, Thank you
very much. The how about this I want us to do?
I want I want us to do this because I
know Greg, you'll be searching for the genuine article. Okay,
let's all gather and again if you want to if
you've not been able to make it with all of
us being there and and participating, yes, yeah, and I

(01:39:26):
don't even let me tell you, I don't even dream
of you being participating tomorrow for the half day tomorrow.
If I can just get tonight out of you, I
feel like I won. You know, you're gonna stay with mom.
I'm staying with Mama, could stay at my house. Of
course that he thinks that's weird to stay with their mom,
which of course I guess it's weird.

Speaker 3 (01:39:42):
Yeah, but anyway, so the.

Speaker 4 (01:39:45):
Uh, he just likes to holler mama, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:39:49):
Goodness, see you little mama always gonna come over and
see mama. But anyways, so, but I bet you got
a few things. Yeah, we got we got a little itinerary, right,
so I think I get it done. I know y'all
are busy.

Speaker 2 (01:40:02):
But anyway, so, uh but miss Canal, this is your boys,
not me. Yeah, but if you're if you can follow
all of us on social media except for Greg, everybody
will give you social media well I know, but you won't.
You won't do behind the scenes stuff for you won't.
You won't take any pictures, you won't give any videos
and all that. So Speedy will at their will. I will,

(01:40:23):
and then we'll we'll bring back some stuff on Monday too.
But I want us all to be paying attention. Okay,
and when we come back on Monday, I want us
to recap the top five characters we met this weekend. O. Cool,
Well I'm going to be Oh, you can be.

Speaker 3 (01:40:38):
One of them. You can't. You can't put Geary in
you five. Okay, Hey, I'm at some nice folks.

Speaker 1 (01:40:44):
What I want to hear?

Speaker 2 (01:40:46):
I will you y'all can have my truck. If this
conversation does not happen. Okay, after this is over. Hey,
I really enjoyed doing that meeting.

Speaker 3 (01:40:55):
I really did.

Speaker 2 (01:40:56):
Okay, good, I'm glad you're hey. I mean, everybody was
coming up to me at how they like me on
the show. Guant guarantee I want no one I'm gonna
be back. And then I mean people, I mean some
people say, you know, hey, this is how always put it.
I mean, I know y'all mess around on the show,
but that is best call.

Speaker 3 (01:41:15):
Of every year. So that'll be the two. Okay, those
two I can guarantee you. Okay, everybody.

Speaker 2 (01:41:23):
Hey, everybody kept walking up saying when you're gonna be
on the show again? And I said, well that's that's
that's Rick's call. And then do things like this, I
ain't got time for all that.

Speaker 3 (01:41:32):
Yeah, yeah's for that. Hey, let that just show you know.
I don't have to be on there. None we've heard.

Speaker 2 (01:41:41):
Yeah, I got plenty to do. But I mean people
keep saying it. I'm like, yeah, they trust me. If
I didn't think you were funny, you wouldn't be we
are getting I got an email about this and somebody
is text about it. Will the turtleneck make an appearance?

Speaker 3 (01:42:00):
Don't rick because I won't be able to listen to
you up there because I'll be staring at it.

Speaker 2 (01:42:05):
All right, So I'll be going to the schedule, the
schedule that I've looked at that Greg has not yet.
That's great to play it value. Yeah, well apparently I'm
afraid My problem is I'm afraid you may be slightly
hard of hearing. But anyway, so I was, so I've
got I'm on. I'm coming out for to talk about

(01:42:27):
the resource that I can't talk about, but I will
talk about it there tonight. So that's one out. I'm
coming out to do something with Compassion International. That's two,
come out something different every time. Well listen that yeah,
changes like swill right, And then then I'm coming out
to do the little close out shorter messages.

Speaker 4 (01:42:45):
Okay, so listen, listen, start with that.

Speaker 2 (01:42:48):
No, no, So if you considering the resource I'm gonna
talk about, would it not be hilarious if I was
going to talk about that topic and come out in
the turtle net, that may be the most step third
combination considering what the topic will be, because you know,
you know, I want your backstage interaction with Coach Freese
to be in that turtle neck.

Speaker 3 (01:43:09):
And it's actually grown since the last time I've seen it.
It didn't seem that bad. Coaches tell us us we're
talking with coach you free scout.

Speaker 2 (01:43:18):
Thanks for having me on. I understand you did the conference.
You have man church conference. You know the the guys,
you know Rick Burgess show guys. Yeah, you know Rick
Burgesshow so what did you think I didn't see the
turtlenick coming?

Speaker 3 (01:43:31):
You know, the turn guy.

Speaker 4 (01:43:33):
Hey, coach, welcome to the conference, and you know he'll be.

Speaker 3 (01:43:36):
Looking at turtleneck, turtle neck. Turtleneck. Yeah, did Rick have
an auto? Acci didn't get whiplas?

Speaker 2 (01:43:40):
Do y'all dare me to come out at any of
the three times I come out tonight once in the
turtle yes, please.

Speaker 3 (01:43:46):
Huh if not changes.

Speaker 6 (01:43:50):
Changes when you have to come out and talk about
compassion and international is that.

Speaker 5 (01:43:54):
What it is?

Speaker 4 (01:43:55):
Well, that's that's my number two slot. Should I be
in a turtle neck?

Speaker 9 (01:43:57):
Turtle neck? The neck get tanked, So I'm caring.

Speaker 2 (01:44:05):
I noticed that one one person who masterfully is just
kind of sitting off in the background, is going to
kind of slide in whenever he wants. And that's one
ault Adler.

Speaker 3 (01:44:14):
Yeah. Have you notice that committal h he's gonna slide in.
One man here w eighteen.

Speaker 2 (01:44:25):
But by by the way, I didn't know this. Uh
you know Oscar Yeah, we've been working with him. Somebody
says he's a threat to wear a turtle McK. When
they saw me, they thought I was Oscar Rick.

Speaker 3 (01:44:34):
You ain't got good enough hair. You got good hair.

Speaker 9 (01:44:36):
But Oscar, he's a pilot Rick, he can wear a turnament.

Speaker 2 (01:44:40):
Somebody said, that's in a scarf. Somebody said, looks like
Rick's neck has shrunk.

Speaker 3 (01:44:43):
It has You're right about that. I didn't. I don't
know why I didn't realize. I think that turtle neck
was till I just saw that.

Speaker 2 (01:44:51):
Didn't pay attention, didn't think you're talking about you didn't
know how thick it was.

Speaker 3 (01:44:54):
I didn't realize it was that thick. Not that thick.
It's a double down thicker. Well, you don't like the
actual turtle neck. Get how do you think a turn
that is? Yeah? Now some are a little more, you know,
not quiet, they're a little more forgetting not talking about
cousin Eddie, because the worst ones, and I wish you'd
had that are the ones that have what's the they
call the fabric on the sub waffle waffle if you

(01:45:14):
had the waffle like a sweater and it was a
turtle neck, Yeah, I've never seen that.

Speaker 2 (01:45:19):
Yeah, that turtleneck is so long during COVID you could
have used it as a mask.

Speaker 3 (01:45:23):
You could have just extended out right at that. So
I too could have liked something that didn't help me.
You know them native women that stretch their necks. All right,
Now we're done. Now we're bring along the neck.

Speaker 4 (01:45:37):
We're now we're bringing indigenous people in it.

Speaker 9 (01:45:40):
You gotta watch out, you're gonna get married off here.

Speaker 3 (01:45:44):
Have I seen that.

Speaker 4 (01:45:45):
Bush disc in the lip bunchy like nothing? And yeah,
you're comparing me that.

Speaker 3 (01:45:49):
Well, I'm just saying a little name right long.

Speaker 2 (01:45:54):
Who dares me to come out session one, Session one
smoking a pipe and the turtle and I say, in
honor of Dennis Spraguer, and we hope he gets he
gets well soon I will now have a fireside chet.

Speaker 9 (01:46:10):
So you think I look like that, it's me and
more by the way people and me and more.

Speaker 10 (01:46:22):
So.

Speaker 3 (01:46:22):
I actually I actually was going to scroll that I asked.

Speaker 2 (01:46:26):
I actually was going to come out and answer Casey's
question about He actually asked us about the economy, and
we told him we'll come back and talk about that and.

Speaker 4 (01:46:37):
All we've done day find it. But anyway, I'm talking
about the turtle.

Speaker 2 (01:46:40):
Well, the bottom line is this case and some others
were saying that as long as we the programming that
Netflix provides is this is on the list of people
say I can't live without it, then them raising the
price based on how many customers they have. They're going
to raise the price because they can because they can

(01:47:00):
get away with it. Now, if we the consumer, you know,
decide that's too much for Netflix and stop subscribing, then
the price will go down. That's it's really that.

Speaker 3 (01:47:11):
Yeah, how did they do it? That lady's neck is along?
Oh my how did they do that? I don't know, Greg,
he's the prettiest lady village. Look at her at the row.
My neck is nowhere near that ball. I want to
talk about the thing.

Speaker 9 (01:47:29):
The turtle neck, Turtle.

Speaker 1 (01:47:36):
This is the rick Burchers Show, The Boys in an
unweasonable World, The rick Burchers.

Speaker 3 (01:47:56):
Show, purred up and drawed back like a flip, The
rick Burgers Show with speedy Greg and Adler and excited
about what's going to be an action packed weekend.

Speaker 4 (01:48:14):
All right, so a couple of items.

Speaker 2 (01:48:15):
First of all, we're all secretly celebrating that after Greg
acted so inappropriately about his Jimmy Jimmy Dean's sausage, saying
instant breakfast thing that he's not sharing and he's hiding
them and hoarding them. Yeah, he finally went in there
to have his Jimmy Dean sausage and I'll be dog

(01:48:37):
gone if it wasn't supposed to have eggs, cheese and sausage.

Speaker 3 (01:48:40):
And he hooped it up and have anything but the
eggs it sealed up came from some matter of factory
wasn't paying attention, so Greg didn't get his whole breakfast
out here that should have been I bet you celebrated
that friend two eggs and that's it. That's it. Well,
that's that's that's what you get for acting the way
you do. Another thing is, let's go.

Speaker 4 (01:48:58):
Ahead and do this.

Speaker 3 (01:48:59):
You got that's karmen, Greg, if you believe in that
kind of So Carolyn and Larry and they apparently the
pill boxes is too big amountain to climb a lot
of people in Dublin into boxes.

Speaker 2 (01:49:14):
They also can't figure out our promo code. So so anyway,
so that's the sweater I'm looking for right there.

Speaker 3 (01:49:24):
By the way, we just had a guy said, I
just canceled date night. I'm coming to the camera.

Speaker 2 (01:49:29):

to send them police patches.

Speaker 3 (01:49:34):

Speaker 2 (01:49:36):
They have given us permission more times than than anybody
would ever require. They are doing this of their own
free will. They have come. They said, we we understand
about people having your address. We understand, uh, we understand
the deal we give. They've given us full permission, so

(01:49:59):
we thought Greg taking it, taking them would be better.

Speaker 3 (01:50:02):

find it. A lea are leaving leaving voicemail on his

So what we're going to do is you the listener, viewer,
whatever the case may be. Uh, if we select your
phone call, you are going to guess how many points?

(01:51:44):
Now points is important, Adler explain the points. It will
turn the scoreboard on two points for every shot. But
did you say something about how we how do you
get three pointers out of this?

Speaker 8 (01:51:55):
Yeah?

Speaker 9 (01:51:55):
Yes, So okay, you can do different game modes on
this thing. And we're going to do thirty seconds.

Speaker 3 (01:52:00):
Okay.

Speaker 6 (01:52:01):
Uh, it's it starts when the timer starts, and then
for the first twenty seconds it's normal basketball. You get
two points. First shot that you make. In the last
ten seconds, it goes to three point. And so you'll
hear the voicego three pointer?

Speaker 4 (01:52:15):
And what would the voice go?

Speaker 3 (01:52:17):
How will it go?

Speaker 8 (01:52:17):
Three pointer?

Speaker 9 (01:52:18):
All right, so check it out. I got a Burgess
ball logo from the people at Cotton Eye.

Speaker 4 (01:52:23):

Speaker 2 (01:52:32):
We need to get them to send us one of
those so we can put it actually on the grade. So,
and where does the speaker come out of on this.

Speaker 3 (01:52:39):

(01:53:40):
you to do. It's real simple. And what was your
name again, Laurie? I'm going to give you a number
of points and you just say higher or lower. That's
all okay. If he scores less and you say lower,
you win. If you say higher and h and he
scores lower than you lose. Okay, so here is the
number is going to the number I'm gonna giving you

(01:54:02):
is thirty points. Do you think in thirty seconds? I remember,
it's not That doesn't mean he hits thirty shots. It
goes by twos, and then the last ten seconds it
goes by threes. Do you think that he'll score more
than thirty points in thirty seconds or less?

Speaker 4 (01:54:17):
All right, adler, she says less.

Speaker 3 (01:54:19):
She says less. All right, here we go. I just
want to prove this lady wrong.

counting down. Yeah go go.

Speaker 2 (01:54:47):
Oh god, she's missing bad, she says. The lower he's
four six, he's not handling the pressure. Well eight, there's ten, twelve, fourteen,
uh yeah, obvious, seventeen.

Speaker 4 (01:55:04):

then oh yeah, she's gonna win.

Speaker 3 (01:55:08):
Oh yeah, there it is. He's got two says and
he scores twenty three points. We've got a winner. Come
on about that. There, So we got a winner. So congratulations, Lord,
it was going before I knew it.

Speaker 2 (01:55:26):
But you still wouldn't have made thirty three. You still
wouldn't have made thirty. No way you to make thirty

Speaker 9 (01:55:33):
All right, Laura, I'm pissed off at Lord.

we're we're a bunch of guys, dudes hanging out and
we just saw Adder shoot twenty three points in thirty seconds,
and we all and we all want to know if
we can beat him and so, and we're not even

(01:58:11):
talking about a contest. We're talking about a contest between
us and we all, yes, we are all going to
go over there and do thirty seconds and we're gonna
see if we can beat other.

Speaker 3 (01:58:20):
Score.

Speaker 9 (01:58:20):
Now, that's like the worst score I've ever put up.

Speaker 8 (01:58:22):
Ever.

Speaker 4 (01:58:23):
You had your shot and you put the score up.

Speaker 2 (01:58:25):
I was gonna say, I wish he had another chance,
because he's a lot better than that.

Speaker 9 (01:58:28):
Thank you, speed.

Speaker 8 (01:58:29):
What is this?

Speaker 3 (01:58:30):
How is this happening?

Speaker 5 (01:58:31):
Now?

Speaker 3 (01:58:31):
I'm just saying that he is He's right. Good by you.

Speaker 9 (01:58:34):
Lunch.

Speaker 3 (01:58:34):
Now, be careful.

Speaker 4 (01:58:35):
He's walking you into sum He's going to throw the ball.

Speaker 3 (01:58:40):
He's walking. I think the clock started.

Speaker 2 (01:58:42):
He was already three four seconds behind, and he got
ca and then you know, once you get into a
bad rhythm, it's tough to get out of it. So
you don't think the pressure that he was playing the contest.

Speaker 3 (01:58:51):
No, he doesn't treasure every day in here. Well that's true. Yeah,
that's a little bit of it. Some some people said
on the text, well he's an angry left.

Speaker 9 (01:59:00):
Yeah, just y'all be sure to send that lady her
cool quadruple ex sweater.

Speaker 3 (01:59:05):
Okay, you're terrible. For the record, You're you're really bad.

Speaker 9 (01:59:10):
She sounded. She sounded fit on the phone, whatever.

Speaker 3 (01:59:14):
On the phone.

Speaker 1 (01:59:14):
Who cares?

Speaker 2 (01:59:16):
Now if if he doesn't, well, no, man, I'll stay,
don't you you're telling me you don't have the desire
you right there around out to go over and show
him you can score. You need a ruling on something.
When it comes to shooting, you know that that bar
is there to stop your waist, you know, and so
you clean out and drop sure you well I've always
done that, but I mean I'm not like leaning for

(01:59:38):
but you just kind of can you kind you kind
of lean down like this to get the to get
the ball, and you just kind of like.

Speaker 9 (01:59:43):
Yeah, two feet have to be on the ground.

Speaker 3 (01:59:44):
How about that?

Speaker 4 (01:59:46):
But but I mean, can I take my arm out
and do this?

Speaker 9 (01:59:48):
You can extend an arm, but if you lift a
leg to get further.

Speaker 3 (01:59:53):
We don't need to do that.

Speaker 2 (01:59:55):
I do because Greg in a minute will comment that
I don't just have a long neck, I also have
a long arm. So I'm looking forward to that Nebraska
men's basketball halftime game. You seen this, uh we got
we got a guy drained a full court putt. We've
seen these before. It's not but he wins a Porsche.
Whoa are some people are?

Speaker 16 (02:00:15):

Speaker 4 (02:00:15):
Some people say Porsche.

Speaker 3 (02:00:17):
Uh okay, don't raise your hand if you say Porsche,
I say Porsche. I'm just I say Porsche.

Speaker 9 (02:00:25):
I'm just a p I don't think.

Speaker 2 (02:00:27):
I say Porsche and then put the turn lick on
the say Porsche.

Speaker 3 (02:00:30):
Yeah you have to do all right? Here we go
here it is yeah, court to court, Porsche, he says Porsche.

Speaker 9 (02:00:39):
And well he thinks he's better than bouncing.

Speaker 4 (02:00:42):
Look at this, My goodness, I mean, he.

Speaker 3 (02:00:49):
Nothing, but it didn't touch anything on the side right down. Okay, Wow,
he's got the man sat on with the He'll have
it sold to a dealer before. He's so thankful that
Trump won. Right now, that's funny. I wonder what the
insurance policy on that was the content?

Speaker 4 (02:01:09):
You go right to the colls, don't you, buddy?

Speaker 2 (02:01:10):
Well no, I mean for for Nebraska to do that,
they had to probably have some policy, right, Okay, that
that would never happen.

Speaker 9 (02:01:19):
I can't even make twenty thirty points on Burgess ball.

Speaker 3 (02:01:21):
Now, that's well you made. You made twenty three, all right.

Speaker 9 (02:01:26):
If anybody can beat fine, why don't you?

Speaker 3 (02:01:28):
Why don't you want to go great? Because it was great?
Go ahead, I'm not I'm not any good. Let's see
if you can be either. Addler practices all the time.
I was late starting alright, so you can have office
pools right now? Can anybody on the staff can we
beat Adler's score twenty three? I am mad?

Speaker 2 (02:01:46):
That show him how to turn it on. He's gonna
get over there, looking Saddler. Okay, just turn it on, Lea. Yeah,
I was just gonna put it on that you put
it back into the sail or something. I was trying
to set it up with them. You don't have one
of those, Well, we don't have it's not big.

Speaker 3 (02:01:59):
You need them one. Yeah, this is the power button.

Speaker 9 (02:02:06):

Speaker 2 (02:02:09):
Let's see if Greg can beat twenty three points one player.

Speaker 3 (02:02:11):
Get ready, hold on, hold on, push it again? Are
you gonna stand there? And it's all right? Thirty seconds?

Speaker 6 (02:02:16):

Speaker 3 (02:02:31):
At four? He's at two seconds ago? But Greg, if
I need to build a retaining log in good shape, I.

Speaker 14 (02:02:40):
Mean I can't play children's game. Then I thought I'm

(02:03:02):

Speaker 4 (02:05:37):
I was off to a good start and then I

Speaker 2 (02:05:39):
I was off the so speedy tough, hey, speedy up
on Speed's the winter well, speedy winner.

Speaker 3 (02:05:46):

Speaker 3 (02:06:06):

Speaker 1 (02:06:11):
This is the Rick Burgess show. Sure he played a
little ball Burch.

Speaker 3 (02:06:36):
So here we go working our way back today.

Speaker 7 (02:06:40):
Uh and then.

Speaker 2 (02:06:43):
All right, show relief Factor Love Love Love relief Factor
Reliefactor dot Com. You can go there right now and
you can get the quick Start pack and you can
get that for nineteen ninety five. This is gonna let
you know in three weeks where it's working for you.
And I will tell you this, I take it every day.
If you are dealing with chronic pain and it is

(02:07:06):
tied to inflammation, relief Factor could be the answer.

Speaker 16 (02:07:11):
Now.

Speaker 2 (02:07:11):
It's not gonna be like some of these over the
counter things where they mask the pain for a short
period of time. This is going to go to the root,
the foundation of the pain, using four all natural botanicals
that all have shown great promise when it comes to inflammation,
but all of them together it's almost like the Avengers
of inflammation. So the reason why we say three weeks,

(02:07:33):
this is not gonna happen like, hey, I took a
pack and I feel better. But it's gonna as you
continue to take it, it's going to get down there.

Speaker 3 (02:07:39):
Here's the good news.

Speaker 4 (02:07:40):
When it gets to the foundation of the problem, then
it's gone for good.

Speaker 3 (02:07:44):
Okay. So anyway, so if you haven't tried this, this
could be the answer for you.

Speaker 2 (02:07:49):
It's all natural go to relief Factor dot com or
Rick Burgess Show dot com under the sponsors. You'll see
the link there. Nineteen ninety five gets you three weeks
of it. We get great tests of monies about this,
including our own personal testimonies. I love it, I will
not I mean I have it every single day, twice
a day, three times if something's bothered me. Okay, relief

(02:08:09):
Factor dot com are Rick Burgess Show dot com under
the sponsors. So yeah, some people were saying, hey, y'all
had the wireless mike still up in the break so yeah,
one of the things that we did we pot it down. Sorry,
But one of the things Adler was saying, thank you all.
And you heard us talking about this for the kind
responses we're getting in the kind email talking about how

(02:08:29):
much you're enjoying the fun zone of the show and
the energy and all of us having fun and you're.

Speaker 3 (02:08:35):
Having fun with us.

Speaker 2 (02:08:36):
It's very kind of you, all right, So have you
yesterday when this came up, we were Sherry and I
were talking my wife and have you ever seen a
story and you think to yourself in the times that
we're living in, because there's so much misinformation and disinformation
when you see something that seems a little off. I honestly,

(02:08:56):
my first fallback position now is the opposite of what
it once was.

Speaker 3 (02:09:02):
Now. My fallback position is it's not true that that's
what you got to prove. Yeah, that's that's that's not true.

Speaker 2 (02:09:08):
So when I saw this allegation of Barack Obama and
Michelle Obama having marital problems, I mean they've been married,
what thirty years? Thirty two years? Yeah, thirty two years,
I think, and seem to have a great marriage. And
you know, she hadn't been coming to some events. But
some people say that's just because she hates Trump that

(02:09:28):
much she don't want to be in same room with him, yeah,
or whatever. But so I didn't pay any attention to that.
And then to make it even weirder, then everybody starts
saying that Barack Obama has had or is having an
affair with Jennifer Aniston, and I'm like, what, so, so
I have not I have not given this any credibility

(02:09:50):
for days now, but it won't go away, No, and
everybody keeps talking about it, and so Megan Kelly it
breaks down in two minutes on why she he thinks
this is actual truth. So here's Migan Kelly, so we'll
hear her break it now.

Speaker 21 (02:10:07):
Shell Obama's absence at Jimmy Carter's funeral certainly raise some eyebrows,
but yesterday's announcement that she won't be attending Trump's inauguration
confirmed something is definitely going on between her and Barack.
Whispers about Cracks and their relationship have been circulating in
DC for over a year now, but this feels like
the first public proof of a marriage on the rocks.
If I had to guess, they will wait until after

(02:10:28):
the inauguration to announce it. Timing, you know, is everything,
And yet the story doesn't end there. For months, I've
heard Jennifer Aniston's name tied to Barack. Then Jessica cites
a DM she received the day before quote, he's with
Jennifer Aniston, my old manager. Now a friend is connected
to her inner circle. At a gathering with Jennifer's friends,

(02:10:48):
the affair came up casually. Jennifer herself admitted it. They
were sitting with a psychic, which makes it makes it
sound surreal, but it's definitely not a secret among her
closest friends.

Speaker 9 (02:11:00):
Then yesterday, Megan McCain.

Speaker 21 (02:11:04):
Had a discussion about this on her show, suggesting she
is hearing the same she had Antara Palmery, who's a reporter, saying,
fast and furious loud, I've been hearing this rumor about
the Obama's getting divorced from reputable people. I'm not talking
about TMZ, She says, I'm talking about very serious journalists

(02:11:25):
telling me they are hearing that the Obama divorce rumors
are true. And Tara, who's a senior political coursepond for Puck, says,
I've certainly heard it for a while too, even before
Michelle said she wasn't coming to the inauguration. I do
not know whether this is true at all, but if
it is true, it truly would be a political earthquake,
earthquake in Democrat circles, nevermind America. I don't remember a

(02:11:50):
presidential divorce in modern history.

Speaker 3 (02:11:53):
Wow, good night, this is what I mean.

Speaker 2 (02:12:00):
Well, like I said, we've been this has been People
have been reporting this for days now, and we were
kind of like not really paying attention to it because
I thought it was just absurd. But I mean, is
there some sort of I know, don't don't look over there,
Please don't please don't don't do it.

Speaker 3 (02:12:19):
Don't do it.

Speaker 2 (02:12:21):
They And by the way, I will say to the texture,
that's a pretty that there's one good line over there.
We could say, but we actually did say it, so
you have parallel thinking. The first time it was mentioned
on the show, uh, we said, oh no, they're just friends.
But so which you know that that that's low hanging
fruit right there. But journalism is so shoddy now you

(02:12:42):
just don't know what to believe. You know, the Romer
meal gets going and then they start growing legs and
now this right here, you know, there there, this is
their anniversary. He put up a post out about how
incredible his wife is. And this wasn't that long ago, right,
So I mean he could certainly post something and there's
still be something going on and not be real. I mean,

(02:13:04):
but if you if you push me on the topic
and said, what do you think I would say, I'm
still over in the The Obamas are fine and this
is all hearsay.

Speaker 3 (02:13:15):
Yeah, but and some sort of weird rumor, well.

Speaker 9 (02:13:18):
They're pretty far a part of that table. Also, the
lighting is very bad on Michelle Obama.

Speaker 6 (02:13:23):
So I don't know why Barack would post that he
looks lighting looks great on him, lighting on Michelle terrible.

Speaker 9 (02:13:28):
Clearly, you don't post that if you're on good terms
with your wife.

Speaker 2 (02:13:31):
Well, now that that's gonna be hard to argue with,
because there's no way my wife would let me post that.

Speaker 3 (02:13:35):
That's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying. That's actually
a pretty good forever. Here's a picture where you look
terrible and I look fantastic, right yeah, I.

Speaker 6 (02:13:45):
Mean, my goodness that you can put that on a magazine, Barack. Meanwhile,
your wife looks like she's had to do a workout
or something. I'm not trying to be rude, okay, but
but you are rude.

Speaker 4 (02:13:56):
I mean that. But that is rude, right, sure, I
will say that on the date in the picture.

Speaker 2 (02:14:03):
It does it like that Barack has looked at the
picture and said I look fantastic in that and forgot
to look across the table.

Speaker 6 (02:14:09):
He forgot, you know, and right, you know, when you
get a group picture and you look straight first at
yourself and somebody says, don't look at your that's what
Brock did.

Speaker 9 (02:14:18):
He looked at himself. He forgot to look at the
other people in the picture.

Speaker 3 (02:14:20):
Well, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (02:14:22):
But but when I'm saying this thing like keeps like
nobody will let it go. Just when you think, well,
we'll never never hear this again, it comes back.

Speaker 6 (02:14:30):
Jennifer Anderson has denied it. She says she's only met
Barack once. In fact, she knows Michelle better than she
knows Barak. That's what Jennifer and is soon is saying.
She also said that they're just friends.

Speaker 2 (02:14:41):
There again, I did, yeah, And there's never been an
issue with like the wife having a female friend who
turns on her.

Speaker 4 (02:14:47):
That's never had out bottom of the hour.

Speaker 3 (02:14:52):
We'll be right back.

Speaker 1 (02:14:54):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Three cities, three powerful weekends,

(02:15:48):

He'll be at Southside Baptist Church tomorrow night, so come
on out for that. I think he's doing a book
signing too, So Andalusiah one O seven seven Southside babydis
Church Man Church tomorrow night and we'll put you into
one of our forty week curriculum.

Speaker 3 (02:16:05):
James Span has the message. And then, ladies, I hear
you out there, what about us? Well? Next Saturday, Sherry Burgess,
my beautiful, lovely wife and a powerful woman of God,
great Bible teacher, will be coming to University Church of
Christ at the Women's Ministry having a brunch next Saturday

(02:16:26):
in Tuscaloosa, Tad. I've worked, I've told hers a baby, look,
you got to get your roll to I said, now
when you get up there, say, ladies, I got one
thing to say. Ay ready ted?

Speaker 4 (02:16:36):
So that will be next Saturday.

Speaker 2 (02:16:38):
It is a brunch and if you want to find
details on that, go to Burgessministries dot com and look
under events and you'll find that there and go out
and have a great time to Sherry coming up next Saturday. Okay,
So some other things that we have been kind of
discussing here on the program is everything's kind of you know, expanding,

(02:16:59):
and we're trying new things and all that. We've got
another contest that we already have done once called Right Again,
and we will do.

Speaker 3 (02:17:06):
That before the show is over today. Can't wait with Greg.

Speaker 2 (02:17:10):
Guys, I think I did not heed your warning. I
think I paid a price yesterday, did you. I did
not heed your warning.

Speaker 10 (02:17:19):
You know.

Speaker 2 (02:17:19):
The bottom line is that it's kind of been an
unofficial but official We remember the character Newman on Seinfeld
who was a postal worker. You don't you don't anger
the postal people, Okay, and if you recall and what
I really wanted to do, and looking back, I wish

(02:17:40):
I would just have randomly said and not been specific,
that my wife used a word that I haven't heard
in a long time, numbskull, and then everybody could have,
which it made sense, would have probably said, well, Rick
did something that got him called a numbskull, and I
should have just left it at that, because I clearly

(02:18:00):
a plausible possibility, but it had to do with the
fact that I said I think that we have got
a new postal delivery person on our street. Now, we
had one for years and she was great and and
it was all great, and I don't know what happened there,

(02:18:21):
but there's been like other people's mail and our mailbox, uh,
seems to be blood delay getting mail.

Speaker 3 (02:18:31):
And then, as I.

Speaker 2 (02:18:32):
Mentioned, and I should not have because I think I'm
being punished, mentioned on the air that we had mail
that was supposed to go and the new one just
put a bunch of mail on top of the mail
going out. And then that led to a discussion of
that of that word, and then I guess people might
have possibly tied that together. And so yesterday and I

(02:18:57):
think I'm I think I'm paying a price. Yeah, yesterday
I was meandering up the driveway and I've got one
of those driveways that it's a circle driveways and you
come you come down the driveway and then the house
sits on a little ridge and then winds it sway
down the ridge in the backyard. So when you when

(02:19:19):
you're making that track up, it's not terrible, but you
know it's it's you know you're going up.

Speaker 3 (02:19:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:19:24):
Well the other thing is the toes. Yeah, the other
thing is I live on a street that has no shoulder,
so my mailbox sits right on the street. Okay, I
mean there's a white line, but there's there's no room,
you know, and it's been hit several times and all that.
So when I'm going up there, I always have to
pay attention because back to what you nearly experienced on

(02:19:47):
the side of the road with a flat tire, no
one pays attention anymore. And I don't want to be
out there getting mail when you know, the numb skull texting,
you know, takes my life.

Speaker 3 (02:20:00):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (02:20:00):
So so I always wait till cars and it's not
an awful busy street. Certain times a day there's a
little more, but when when it's when there's a car coming,
I just wait. Okay, yes, so I so I even
though they should be able to get by not kill me,
but they would have to be paying attention to do that.

Speaker 3 (02:20:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:20:18):
So, so I eased up there around mail time. And
you know how sometimes things almost like when they're out
to get you, they they don't. There's just a that
almost there's a certain scariness to it. And I opened
the mailbox and there's nothing in it, and and there's
not really a day that we don't have any mail,

(02:20:39):
even if it's just all junk mail, you know. And
I went, okay, maybe coming a little later, you know.

Speaker 8 (02:20:45):
And so.

Speaker 2 (02:20:49):
It goes on into the night a little bit and
Sherry said, you ever get the mail? And I said, well,
I went out. There wouldn't any there. I said, I
think I might have been a little maybe I went
too early. And she s goes, well, are you going
to go check it? Because you know all the all
the things people are, well, all the things people say,
you know, people steal mail now, you can't leave it

(02:21:09):
out there and that kind of stuff.

Speaker 3 (02:21:11):
And I put on the jacket and cold, and uh yeah,
it dropped on down.

Speaker 2 (02:21:15):
So I went to the mailbox again, this time, you know,
with a light, and it's almost like they want me
to get the message. I mean, there's not even like
a pamphlet in there, somebody dropping a you know, there
been a couple of pieces of junk mail opened it
up and not just looking there, and I mean it's

(02:21:36):
it's it's scary empty, you know.

Speaker 3 (02:21:38):
Almost they bugs. Like when I looked in and I
walked in and I said, she says or anything, I said,
its empty, and she said, did you say something on
the air about this?

Speaker 5 (02:21:51):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (02:21:51):
And when I said, well, I wanted to get in
a discussion, a funny discussion about numbscull she goes, you
don't go against the postal service, and I was like, uh,
being a numbskull again. So what I'm wondering is how
long would they make me paid? I mean, do you
I mean, do they have some sort of federal obligation
to eventually bring to my mail?

Speaker 8 (02:22:09):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (02:22:09):
I think maybe it's just one day, one day of Hey,
look this is the power I have. Careful do you
think do you think he sent me a message yesterday?

Speaker 5 (02:22:17):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (02:22:17):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (02:22:19):
Just know at any moment this could happen. So this
is what numb skulls did. Numbskulls have empty mail box. Yeah,
that's so I'm done with that. I want to apologize.
Somebody's probably on a probably on a new route, Rick,
you know, maybe be a little more patient.

Speaker 3 (02:22:34):
Yeah, there's that. There is that, right, It's just that
you just didn't have anything.

Speaker 5 (02:22:37):
Right.

Speaker 2 (02:22:38):
Do you get the emails of what's coming in the mail?
Have y'all signed up for that? Because I was just
gonna say, y'all could put that against each other, you know,
if you have the other thing. Yeah, the other thing
is there is a chance. Now this is probably shouldn't
be said because it's not going to help the situation
at all, based on kind of the experience so far.

(02:22:58):
My mail just simply beatn be next door in that mailbox,
it over there. But then now you're back in greg
But the reason why I didn't go do that is
because we've just done a story about people being shot
walking up on somebody's property.

Speaker 3 (02:23:14):
You know, I was like, now I let that go.

Speaker 2 (02:23:15):
H the times we're living in now, you just don't
go ritting around somebody's house now, you don't. You know,
I don't want to be digging off in somebody's mailbox.

Speaker 3 (02:23:21):
I just remember something. Did y'all get mail yesterday?

Speaker 2 (02:23:25):
I just realized that when we got back from Huntsville
late last night, I checked them out.

Speaker 3 (02:23:28):
I didn't have was there some sort of is this
another federal hall? Who are we morning again? Yesterday?

Speaker 2 (02:23:33):
Maybe Idler got Mailee said yesterday said it was a
federal holiday?

Speaker 8 (02:23:36):
It is?

Speaker 3 (02:23:37):
What what do we sall?

Speaker 7 (02:23:38):
Right?

Speaker 3 (02:23:38):
Now? What was yesterday? Really?

Speaker 2 (02:23:41):
Because I just realized I didn't think I don't I
didn't have to.

Speaker 3 (02:23:43):
Have any mail there. It was still morning.

Speaker 4 (02:23:45):
Jimmy Carter, I mean, how long are we going to morn?

Speaker 7 (02:23:47):
Now?

Speaker 4 (02:23:48):
Thirty days?

Speaker 3 (02:23:48):
That ye, they said that, They said, do you think
he was a thirty president? In operation day? They put
the flags full mast and then dropped them back down
half because they're recognizing thirty days.

Speaker 4 (02:23:58):
We do that on all presents. Thirty I don't.

Speaker 2 (02:24:02):
I would think based on the presidency and the interest
rate when he was president, maybe fifteen days, yeah, yeah,
twelve to fifteen. Okay, there was no federal holiday yesterday.
According to this, I didn't know the.

Speaker 9 (02:24:15):
MLK and Robert E. Lee were born on the same day.

Speaker 3 (02:24:18):
You didn't.

Speaker 8 (02:24:19):
I didn't know that.

Speaker 2 (02:24:20):
You must not check your email much January twenty.

Speaker 3 (02:24:22):
Yeah, you didn't look at the email.

Speaker 2 (02:24:24):
Yeah, what looks like you would just send a little
you know, he kind of just sent a flare your way.

Speaker 3 (02:24:30):
Yeah, that's that morning shot.

Speaker 9 (02:24:32):
Don't mess with people to handle your food or your mail.

Speaker 3 (02:24:35):
You're right, Yeah, that's delightful. Yeah, it is. It's a
good one, too, little shot over the bow. Yeah, just
to just to let you know the power they have.
I bet you if it wouldn't have been dark. I
could have seen carved into the side. Numbskull.

Speaker 12 (02:24:48):
You know it.

Speaker 4 (02:24:50):
Who's the numbskull?

Speaker 3 (02:24:51):
Now, yeah, yeah, you're right. We'll be right back.

Speaker 1 (02:24:56):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Okay, are you ready
to bring something to the table? Cool, no, and get

All right, So that's what I was wondering. Read that
last text ring. I got a lot of emails about that,
your stee.

Speaker 3 (02:26:12):
We need to go find that. I don't. I got
a lot of emails about that yesterday. It must be
running history. It must be running in the and I
can send it to UH. I'll find it to syndicate solutions.

Speaker 4 (02:26:26):
You do know where to look.

Speaker 2 (02:26:27):
Okay, let's go to Dustin. Dustin's out of Montgomery I
ninety two.

Speaker 8 (02:26:32):
W l W I.

Speaker 3 (02:26:33):
Hey Dustin, Welcome to the rick Burgers Show.

Speaker 20 (02:26:35):
Go ahead, thank you, good morning, congress on the new show.

Speaker 8 (02:26:39):
It's awesome.

Speaker 4 (02:26:39):
Thank you man.

Speaker 20 (02:26:40):
I had I had a similar incident, and I don't
even know what prompted it. I got a letter on
the mailbox one day. It said my mailbox was too hot.
I've been in the house for eight years, never had
an issue. So but they've got legal heights. You'd have
to have it at and maybe the lady has trouble
getting to the mail So okay, so I fixed it,

(02:27:01):
pull it up, dig down, rear ceam in it. And
I'm not getting mailed the whole time this is happening,
Then fix.

Speaker 8 (02:27:10):
It, he leads. Another letter says it's an inch too low.

Speaker 1 (02:27:13):
No, they did not know, They did not They did not,
so I.

Speaker 20 (02:27:19):
Got to dig it all up again, put more concord
on it. That joker, and this is a better part
of a month. I'm not getting mail, but I'm telling
you this joker is solid. Now it's not going anywhere.

Speaker 2 (02:27:30):
You have to you have to build a fortress. But yeah,
I know they do have certain heights, but I didn't
know they were that detailed. Uh, let's go to Nate
and Oklahoma and Nate, how you been, buddy?

Speaker 15 (02:27:42):
Hey guys man, first time caller on the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 4 (02:27:47):
Got a boy big Nate.

Speaker 10 (02:27:50):
Yeah, you know you. You and Baba taught us that
key to success is coming in with low expectations. So
you know, I come pretty low. Ye had to tweak
them a little bit. No, I'm trying to adapt. I'm
not a much on change.

Speaker 22 (02:28:05):
So it's been rough.

Speaker 10 (02:28:06):
But uh, now overall I do I do, like you know,
I appreciate it. Uh, the effort you guys have put in.

Speaker 15 (02:28:12):
I have one suggestion, and well, I just I say,
I think the name of the wheel bothers me because
it's real. It's you guys can't hardly even say it.

Speaker 10 (02:28:23):
I mean, it's just a little clumky, you know, if
you think about it, the wheel of Meat was it
had tons of things on it, but it was simplified
the wheel of meat, so that would be the only thing.
And it's just tony and cheek kind of. It's just
funny to hear you guys try to remember what order bits,
bundles and bucks go in and stuff. It's kind of
it's kind of fun.

Speaker 2 (02:28:42):
Yeah, so let me let me land on that. Then
you just said it was kind of it was. It
was kind of funny to hear us mumble around. Could
that possibly have been our motivation?

Speaker 10 (02:28:52):
Well, it was funny the first week.

Speaker 3 (02:28:55):
Okay, so you're saying we don't we haven't done it enough. Yeah,
I mean we.

Speaker 2 (02:29:01):
Started to simplify it to the will of money, because,
as we said, the only thing better than meat is
straight cash home me and we were gonna let.

Speaker 10 (02:29:09):
I got hey, what about maybe original wheel of fortune?

Speaker 3 (02:29:14):
Listen, n We we talked about if we ever heard
from you, we were gonna let you spend it, but
not now. Yeah, you messed out there, messed up. Now
you can spend it.

Speaker 2 (02:29:22):
You had a chance for us to spend the wheel

go and be all Nate that gun.

Speaker 10 (02:29:31):
You're taking it wrong. Hey, I'm talking to you boys

Speaker 2 (02:32:41):
We got guys come from Illinois about this weekend mark
go ahead, Hey.

Speaker 3 (02:32:45):
Boys, Hey buddy, Hey, I've got just an idea for
a segment for Greg. Okay, okay, I love Don Rickles
and I love Dean Martin Rose.

Speaker 16 (02:32:59):
Oh yeah, how about if you and I'm willing to
put myself on the chopping block on this.

Speaker 3 (02:33:05):
I'm not going to suggest something I'm not willing to
do myself, have a segment called hey, let Greg roast me.

Speaker 4 (02:33:16):
Well, you know, we have a version of that on
the wheel over there.

Speaker 3 (02:33:20):
Will take care of business. I love that guy.

Speaker 8 (02:33:24):
You just tell him a little bit about yourself.

Speaker 3 (02:33:26):
I mean, you got to take it and run with it.

Speaker 4 (02:33:28):
But we actually have a version of that on the wheel.

Speaker 2 (02:33:32):
If it lands on Greg, something similar, But you may
be adding something that is a nice add that Greg.

Speaker 3 (02:33:38):
Here's a few things about him first and then goes
of course, a regular phone secession A lot of times
is up that way. Anyway.

Speaker 6 (02:33:45):
Can we have a segment like years and years ago,
like rig or Greg dogs me or something like that.

Speaker 3 (02:33:50):
Yeah, it was something like that. A lot of pressure.
It's got to be something, you know that just pops up.
It can't feel forced. Yeah, Brandon, welcome to the show.
Go ahead.

Speaker 23 (02:34:03):
I just want to find out if Greg still has
his Christmas up.

Speaker 2 (02:34:08):
Greg currently, Yes, my goodness, I just unbelieve them currently.

Speaker 3 (02:34:12):
It is unbelievable. We were talking about that yesterday. Brandon.

Speaker 12 (02:34:16):
Well, we're gonnahead to start calling you father Christmas.

Speaker 3 (02:34:19):
Oh gosh, that's a good one. That's a good one. Look,
this isn't my call. I'm just I'm just doing what
I'm told, like a like a good boy.

Speaker 2 (02:34:27):
Father Christmas, give it your money God like come, it
must gotta good kind.

Speaker 4 (02:34:35):
Not the best Christmas mission, but.

Speaker 24 (02:34:38):
Tom, this is the Rick Burgess Show, a fine broadcasting.

Speaker 1 (02:35:08):
From the world, the Rich Burgess Show.

Speaker 3 (02:35:11):
Yeah, no fake world. Here, here we go, a brand
new IOWA.

Speaker 2 (02:35:19):
Thanks for being with us, Speedy, Greg Adler, the most
powerful team in radio.

Speaker 3 (02:35:25):
Babies, they can't be stopped.

Speaker 2 (02:35:29):
As we moved through another Iowa excited you can join
us a day to eight.

Speaker 3 (02:35:34):
The number six Big Box. So thank you for being
with us.

Speaker 10 (02:35:43):
Greg.

Speaker 2 (02:35:43):
As we start from the text line, you know we
started a new contest again that we kind of dabbled with.

Speaker 3 (02:35:49):
Burgess ball.

Speaker 2 (02:35:51):
Adler installed a couple of basketball goals inside the new
design of the studio, which we love from the text line,
the Burgess boys need to stick to football. They are
terrible at basketball.

Speaker 3 (02:36:03):
We're sandbagging.

Speaker 2 (02:36:05):
Well, of course, I guess this person don't realize I
made All County in ninth grade, doesn't. I don't think
you need that really, Yes, he doesn't know about that
terrible basketball All County, All Area Tournament, All Calhoun County,
ninth grade basketball. So uh, just not bragging, not just

(02:36:25):
what happened, just what happened didn't happen what I got
on varsity because it got a little large, kind of
became more of a bruiser, then really became nothing more
than the enforcer.

Speaker 3 (02:36:39):
But in ninth grade All County. And you might be thinking,
why the word they used in the article my mother
has in a scrapbook, consistency, is that what they said?

Speaker 2 (02:36:52):
Well, what it was you had players on the team
that were so much better than me and scored like
they would score twenty five thirty points. But then they'd
have a game where they'd be off or whatever, and
if you looked at my stat it just kind of
rolled like this, ten points, twelve rebounds, twelve points, ten rebounds,
fifteen points, eleven rebounds, you.

Speaker 3 (02:37:12):
Know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (02:37:13):
And it would just kind of you know, probably the
furthest shot, you know, was a big two hand put
back in after the rebound.

Speaker 3 (02:37:21):
And of course you already know this story and you've
laughed at it.

Speaker 2 (02:37:23):
My coach would get furious when all of a sudden,
from the post position, I'd flash out in the corner
and I was supposed to hit a runner going through
and I'd launched from.

Speaker 3 (02:37:32):
The coffin corner a rainbow shot and he would be
screaming water. You do it out there, get back inside.

Speaker 9 (02:37:41):
How many assists would you usually get rid?

Speaker 4 (02:37:43):
Well, that wasn't as much my thing, I guess.

Speaker 7 (02:37:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:37:46):
Now I tell you what I could do though.

Speaker 2 (02:37:48):
I could get you the rebound and give you a
two hand pass to let you get go another way
with it, you know. Yeah, but yeah, they called me
mister Consistency was all count How.

Speaker 3 (02:37:58):
You remember it?

Speaker 2 (02:37:58):
Yeah, it is exactly. Don't maybe go to the scrap book.
Are a tournament. Let's give the al tournament team? Did
you say ninth grade is that that was probably the
peak of my basketball.

Speaker 3 (02:38:11):
When I played for the Trotters in the city.

Speaker 2 (02:38:14):
There were times in the there were times in the
ninth grade where some people said I bordered line on Unstoppable.

Speaker 8 (02:38:20):
The uh.

Speaker 3 (02:38:23):
Time I was the TV if you heard about it.

Speaker 4 (02:38:28):
Don't get me started on home Run King of Bronco.

Speaker 3 (02:38:32):
Later on.

Speaker 2 (02:38:33):
Now what you find he has a good point. It's
like I remember because when we were growing up, everybody
played the Big Three. Everybody, Yeah you played they didn't
over you played football, you played basketball, you played baseball.
There were no other sports that we acknowledge, and and
so what happened was there was there was a time

(02:38:53):
where as you're getting.

Speaker 3 (02:38:55):
Older and it gets more serious, you're like, there's a
lot of work. I mean the three sports lot. Yeah,
So the way you would watch is like we would go.

Speaker 2 (02:39:05):
So baseball, baseball, baseball, baseball, Hey, hey, okay, all right,
pretty good, and then all of a sudden you realize
about twelve, you're out.

Speaker 3 (02:39:13):
Yeah you know, old basketball is still going.

Speaker 4 (02:39:16):
Ninth ready did die.

Speaker 2 (02:39:18):
And the only one that made it all the way
was football, right, you know that was at some point
you're just like, like the others you just picked out
on like like baseball I picked out, and literally little
league and then basketball I picked out.

Speaker 4 (02:39:31):
Yeah somewhere around sophomore Yeah, but yeah, you're.

Speaker 3 (02:39:37):
Right, But that's normally the time you're right. It is
around that sophomore time where you realize okay, yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:39:42):
And the only reason why I maybe, and the only
thing that I made a little noise, uh in little
league baseball was that I was just gargantuan.

Speaker 3 (02:39:52):
I was just I was so much. I was like
this large, really uncomfortably large kid that picked on his
little brother, that picked on his little brother, and that
went by his little brother part it really.

Speaker 15 (02:40:06):
Well.

Speaker 2 (02:40:07):
Now, the thing, the thing that we talk about all
the time Greg and I about how much we fought
is a little and we were kids.

Speaker 3 (02:40:12):
Is that we we you know, and you know this
story speeding you love it. Where we fought in a
literal game. Oh yeah, that's meet me at first base,
Greg at second base, on the same team.

Speaker 2 (02:40:25):
Fault, not during practice, fault in uniform. We have uniforms
only with others are working in concessions. Right the official game,
the guy is still running bases and we're fighting between
first and second base.

Speaker 4 (02:40:38):
The right fielder finally tries to throw it in.

Speaker 3 (02:40:42):
Guys, let me throw it through your here, he tried.
I need to get it over a little quicker. Well,
you were loafing it, Greg, I mean we used a little.

Speaker 2 (02:40:48):
Rainbow throw over the first next over his head. But
that baby was smoking heads up in the dugout. Oh
there was there was what it was The field we
played on was down in a hole. So there was
a wall behind me. I mean like the parents literally
were above you watching the game that it was down
in the hole. So they were all there, Yeah, play

(02:41:10):
still there?

Speaker 3 (02:41:11):
Yeah, still there. I think River played there. Yeah, your
grandson's played there. Yeah. Because I looked down, I was
looking down at No, you're right, and there's a big
old tall The fences were tall, about two hundred foot. Yeah,
that's the fit we played. Well, there's a number of
them like that. Okay, it might but if you're looking
down and there's walls right here, and that's it. Oh gosh.
So they still use it.

Speaker 2 (02:41:31):
And so there was a wall behind me. So Greg
and I played first and second base. And y'all might
remember that team Oxford lumber and and so uh so.
Greg Miller Funeral Home Miller Fener home was when we
were younger, and also when we had to get involved
in some sort of counseling because they put m F
on our hats.

Speaker 3 (02:41:51):
But but anyway, so some adult wasn't think, you know,
some adult was not thinking. But anyway, so Greg was
playing second.

Speaker 4 (02:41:58):
Well it was an easy, a little dribbler to him.

Speaker 3 (02:42:01):
He just throws it over He loads it over there,
and the guy almost runs it out and so so
so so.

Speaker 4 (02:42:09):
I looked over.

Speaker 2 (02:42:09):
I said, throw it over here, so don't don't lob it, know, gosh.
And then all of a sudden, a few batters later,
they hit another one over there, and he from me
to you, I'm not exaggerating, from me to the wheel.

Speaker 3 (02:42:24):
He threw it at me as hard as he possibly could. Okay,
and and and and it just goes right by me.

Speaker 2 (02:42:32):
Hits the wall behind me, starts banging around like a pinball,
and instead of me going to get it, I go
after him to fight.

Speaker 8 (02:42:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:42:40):
Yeah, And now we're fighting between first and second base.
Nobody really knows what to do because do we stop
the runner?

Speaker 3 (02:42:48):
Nobody off.

Speaker 2 (02:42:50):
There was so much of that kind of stuff in
the culture we grew up in.

Speaker 3 (02:42:52):
Some of the parents just kept on eating their propable.
Boys are finding it.

Speaker 2 (02:42:56):
There was none of this. Then the time called the police.
Two boys are fighting. A lot of parents did a
lot of parents. They weren't mad about what was going on.
They're like, hey, somebody got the game under control. Yeah, yeah,
does she gets second base?

Speaker 5 (02:43:09):
You know?

Speaker 2 (02:43:09):
Yeah, and put their gloves off. I love bumping into
your mom. She's so sweet, and I just look at
her and I love asking. I always ask her this,
just because to get the reaction. What are you gonna
do with these two? And she looks at me like
if her eyes could talk, It's been my whole life,
my whole life, dealing with these two.

Speaker 3 (02:43:29):
Report card day, such a bad day.

Speaker 17 (02:43:31):
Rick.

Speaker 3 (02:43:32):
She was listening to the other Friday, and we got
discussing breakfast, Yeah, the contest, and she goes, you and
your brother side just like when y'all have kids, now,
y'allg She goes, I can't believe it. She's arguing over
whole lot. She said. She said, I thought Lord sounds
just like the kid. So but you brought up basketball.

Speaker 2 (02:43:50):
I know we don't really follow men's college basketball that much,
but Alabama and Auburn top four. Oh wow, And I
have been around there, Auburn number one, Obama at four,
both the best of the best when it comes to
men's basketball, and it's just a lot of folks that
are ignoring it.

Speaker 3 (02:44:07):
It's like including us. Yeah, I know that's why it right, Yeah,
it's really amazing. What's going on? Wow?

Speaker 9 (02:44:13):
Already seventeen and one overall?

Speaker 4 (02:44:16):
Is this a bigger deal than basket at all?

Speaker 8 (02:44:18):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (02:44:19):
But in a minute, Rick, but people they not here,
you're all counting. My gosh, did Auburn overlooked me? I
don't know. People are saying, is it a football state?

Speaker 13 (02:44:27):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (02:44:27):
Here we go. Yeah, let's just wait till about state. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:47:11):
Your quick question. I have a mattress. Let's just say
you do.

Speaker 2 (02:47:14):
You're in that, I'm done with it. What do you
do with a mattress? Do you have to take it
to the landfill?

Speaker 3 (02:47:20):
Evidently on Obrad and Mial Road they throw them on
the side.

Speaker 2 (02:47:23):
Yeah, and I know you leaned up against the dumpster
and run away.

Speaker 3 (02:47:26):
No, I mean, is there an official or can you
I think you can just go to the regular dump
and just throw it out there in the middle of
all that.

Speaker 2 (02:47:33):
And g hawakers not not number one but number two.
They burned them, really just burn them. Okay, but you
should not do that.

Speaker 3 (02:47:40):
No, I'm just.

Speaker 4 (02:47:42):
I've heard people, you know, tell you talk how a fire.

Speaker 3 (02:47:44):
I think you can just throw them in the regular landfill.

Speaker 2 (02:47:47):
Okay, but I'm just saying that, you know, but that's
that's some effort there, you know. But can you just
like I've seen people just take a hammer and just
just take them apart, you know, and now they're just.

Speaker 3 (02:47:57):
A little pieces of all the stuff.

Speaker 4 (02:47:58):
I'm just wondering.

Speaker 3 (02:48:01):
I hammer in the morning, i'd hammer in the evening.
All of it?

Speaker 9 (02:48:05):
Is you the box spring? Yeah, but not the mattress.

Speaker 2 (02:48:09):
Correct the mattress. You're right there, I am talking about.
Now are you the both of them? You got a
box spring and a mattress. You're getting out of a
grade or you know whatever.

Speaker 3 (02:48:20):
It's a great question. I went to the landfield, did okay?
So is that what you have to do? Yeah? I
didn't ask you.

Speaker 2 (02:48:25):
I didn't know if there was another area. Well, let
me tell you what I do every time. Hey, they look,
they delivered our mattress. Here you go, buddy, twenty bucks,
Please take this somewhere.

Speaker 3 (02:48:32):
Yeah, it's not a bad movie. Hey, it works.

Speaker 2 (02:48:35):
Yeah, there were sometimes you gotta go thirty, but it worked.

Speaker 3 (02:48:38):
Yeah, some hold out?

Speaker 7 (02:48:39):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (02:48:40):
Pat, Sweet home Alabama? Pat, go ahead.

Speaker 23 (02:48:44):
Hey guys, how a y'all doing this morning?

Speaker 7 (02:48:46):
Hey?

Speaker 17 (02:48:46):
Pat?

Speaker 3 (02:48:47):
How are you? Buddy? Are you doing Pat?

Speaker 23 (02:48:51):
Hey, I'm great.

Speaker 8 (02:48:51):
Let me tell you.

Speaker 23 (02:48:52):
I started listening y'all in two thousand and four and
I got staking here in the military.

Speaker 2 (02:48:56):
Thank you.

Speaker 23 (02:48:56):
And then the news show came on and I thought,
not much change here, and I'm gonna tell you. Then
I started questioning my life decisions. I heard about the turtleneck,
oh boy, and I was really concerned about y'all. Come on,
let me tell you someone made Hey, someone made the
recommendations to put on a flannel shirt. Don't do that,

(02:49:18):
because all you're gonna look like is like you left
the big city because you inherited a tree farm somewhere
in the middle of somek movie.

Speaker 4 (02:49:26):
Yeah, and at first Sherry didn't like me.

Speaker 2 (02:49:30):
Our personalities clashing before you know what, we fall in
love at the Christmas gathering.

Speaker 3 (02:49:33):
Yeah, the first meeting is not good.

Speaker 23 (02:49:35):
That's right, that's right at the cookie contest.

Speaker 5 (02:49:39):
Right, Uh?

Speaker 3 (02:49:40):
Good word past?

Speaker 23 (02:49:41):
Hey, I do have I do have one question left
from the last show, and it kind of came up
early when it comes to this jiu jitsu?

Speaker 8 (02:49:50):
Uh?

Speaker 23 (02:49:51):
Is any waxing required?

Speaker 8 (02:49:53):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (02:49:54):
I don't think you wear it?

Speaker 3 (02:49:55):
You were?

Speaker 23 (02:49:56):
You got to think about it a minute.

Speaker 3 (02:49:57):
Brazilian Now funny?

Speaker 9 (02:50:01):
There's nothing funny about that.

Speaker 4 (02:50:03):
Yeah, let me tell you, s Adler does not like
jokes about Brazilian jujo.

Speaker 9 (02:50:06):
I thought he was doing like a wax on wax
off joke, but no, he went low brow. Hey, buddy,
this is a family show.

Speaker 3 (02:50:12):
Anonymous, Thank you, Voice of Reason Anonymous in Mississippi. Go ahead, Hey.

Speaker 13 (02:50:19):
Guys, I just wanted to share my testimony real quick.
And I remained anonymous because I don't want any attention
coming back to myself and all pointing to God. But
long story shirt short. I prayed for a long time
for God to speak to me and tell me what
he wanted me to do with my life. And of
course I put God in a box and said, you
want me to do this or this or this and
you know, mission field or whatever. And I put him

(02:50:41):
in a box. And so I prayed and prayed, and
I asked God to not just lay it on my heart,
but speak to me. I actually come to me like
you did people in the Bible. And one night in
my dream, I had no other dream except for there
I was in this most commanding voice. And I can't
even express how commanding it was. I knew, admitted it was.
Jesus told me to It just said follow me. And

(02:51:03):
I knew right then and there that he meant if
I follow him and everything that I do with my life,
his plan will play out. And I realized right then
and there that my decisions and my understanding is not
going to come close to what his planning is for me.
That I just need to seek. And so anybody out
there that want to know what your plan is, follow
Jesus and you'll find it.

Speaker 3 (02:51:22):
Amen.

Speaker 2 (02:51:22):
You know he said that, seek me and you'll find me.

Speaker 9 (02:51:25):
So glad that want a joke?

Speaker 2 (02:51:27):
Yeah, for a minute, you waiting on And you know,
I've been layering with multiple shirts because of the cold,
and I felt myself kind of starting to get a
little clammy.

Speaker 4 (02:51:37):
I thought that if he drops this, if a joke
comes out of this.

Speaker 3 (02:51:41):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (02:51:41):
I never once made eye contact with Greg one time.
I knew that, right, I knew not to do that.
Then I say, I saw where it was a real call. Yeah,
thank you awesome, but appreciate that very much. Yeah, that
thought it was Jeffy trying to fake us off, right,
Greg the But now that that's he's right about that.

Speaker 3 (02:51:59):
We tend to.

Speaker 2 (02:52:01):
We tend to sort of and we all been guilty
of it as we create a version of God that
we're more comfortable with, when really what he's called us
to is to seek him as he is, and instead
of us trying to make him something we're more comfortable with,
he radically transforms us into something he is more comfortable with.

Speaker 3 (02:52:22):
And we always seem to get that out of whack
a little bit. I mean, I mean, I've been as
guilty of as anybody. So that's great, man.

Speaker 2 (02:52:29):
I appreciate that a lot, and I hope that we see,
you know, and hear more things like that, because there's
no greater place to be, regardless of the difficulties of it,
Because it doesn't mean it's going to be an easy road.
As a matter of fact, Jesus said, the gate we
enter following him is actually narrow and hard, and only
a few people do it. But there's no sweeter place

(02:52:49):
to be than right where God won't you. There's no
better place, all right, So only this show will make
that transition. When we come back, going to play another
round of Greg Burgess right again? Oh, got another round
Greg Burgess right again?

Speaker 3 (02:53:07):
Do you want to take on Greg?

Speaker 1 (02:53:10):
Do you think you can win?

Speaker 3 (02:53:12):
Is Greg really is right about everything as he thinks?

Speaker 8 (02:53:15):
Certain?

Speaker 2 (02:53:16):
So you're gonna have to discern that the number eight
D eight eight six big box right again?

Speaker 3 (02:53:23):
Right after this?

Speaker 1 (02:53:27):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, God Fearing a America.

All right? So here it is.

Speaker 8 (02:54:52):
You got.

Speaker 3 (02:54:52):
You gotta match Greg on three of them to get
this right.

Speaker 2 (02:54:55):
And here's what you have got to do. I'm gonna
ask Greg a question and he'll give his answer. And
if you think that Greg is right again, you say
right again? Uh, and then you can or you can
say I don't think Greg is right again?

Speaker 3 (02:55:11):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (02:55:11):
And now if you match him three times, you win.
If you miss any before that, you're out, all right,
And here's the deal, yep, understand. I may be If
I sound confident, I may be faking confident. If I
sound not sure, I may be faking not sure.

Speaker 3 (02:55:26):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (02:55:26):
You're playing games?

Speaker 3 (02:55:28):

Speaker 4 (02:55:43):

Speaker 12 (02:55:49):
Ability?

Speaker 8 (02:55:49):
Yes? All right?

Speaker 2 (02:55:50):
All right, so I know Greg said he he may
play games with you, but I will tell you this
this category here today, Matthew, how how savvy are you
on eighties rock music?

Speaker 3 (02:56:03):

Speaker 8 (02:56:04):
We reckon?

Speaker 4 (02:56:05):

here we go.

Speaker 8 (02:56:09):
Greg.

Speaker 3 (02:56:09):

Speaker 2 (02:56:11):
If you're on hold, don't hang up because if Matthew fails,
then then well we'll go to someone else.

Speaker 3 (02:56:17):
All right, here we go.

Speaker 4 (02:56:18):
But he couldn't run the table and win right of
the game. Uh, here we go.

Speaker 5 (02:57:56):
Well?

Speaker 3 (02:57:56):
Yesterday?

Speaker 2 (02:57:57):
Remember we talked about this band, so this could be
a ploy?

Speaker 3 (02:58:00):
Matthew. Do you think Greg is right again? Or not right?

Speaker 16 (02:58:02):
This time, I know for a factory right on this one.

Speaker 3 (02:58:06):

gonna see it. If they want it, they're gonna get it.
They're gonna hear us talk about it, and then all

can find it. So much has happened on the text
since then. We actually heard from the amazing Robbie. Did

(03:07:46):

called too. You remember the guy that said that he
just wanted to he's been married for twenty years and
he just wants his wife to tell him he's amazing.

Billy Ray Cyrus is family genuinely worried.

Speaker 3 (03:08:28):
Yeah, they are.

Speaker 4 (03:08:29):
All of us were worried after that.

Speaker 3 (03:08:31):
That's that's that. Yes, that was pitiful. Like many of
you said, when did he turn into Rob Zombie?

Speaker 5 (03:08:37):
I know?

Speaker 17 (03:08:38):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (03:08:38):
And he comes out there, he rambles around, he sounds
like he can barely talk.

Speaker 5 (03:08:42):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (03:08:43):
And it says that he is the son who is
the older half brother to the famous sisters Miley and
Noah Cyrus posted on their Instagram. We are all genuinely
worried about dad.

Speaker 3 (03:08:58):
Who probably a good idea. What's his wife's named? Up?
Fire Rose. I'm sorry every Fire Rose busted up? Well, well,
who would have seen that coming?

Speaker 2 (03:09:07):
I know that's a beautiful couple here here we go
one of the kids, sadly the man I wanted to
desperately be just like I barely recognize now. I say,
it seems this world has beating you down, Dad, and
it's become obvious to everyone but you.

Speaker 3 (03:09:22):
That ouch, that hurt. And I know we've made a
pack and y'all can be in it.

Speaker 2 (03:09:27):
But I know Greg and I have that will come
to each other if we and you just got to
listen yeah, yeah, y'all won't y'all won't end. It's it's
a tough conversation.

Speaker 3 (03:09:40):
But we we've become a handle. Yeah, we have to
we have to go to each other and say yeah,
and you have to listen. And so what if people
won't listen, Well, that's on them, right, I mean, yeah,
that was do you want to buddy? I like when
he kept trying to get his guitar to work.

Speaker 9 (03:09:59):
Yeah, that made no sense. The whole thing that I know.
He told me to kill as much time. He's not
a time killing guy making announcements.

Speaker 13 (03:10:10):
Come on, man.

Speaker 2 (03:10:10):
And then at the end they try to get him
off stage and he like, won't go.

Speaker 3 (03:10:14):
It's wild. His version of Odtown Road was really good.
Wasn't that something? Don't? Don't play that again?

Speaker 9 (03:10:23):
Try to find it?

Speaker 3 (03:10:23):
Don't.

Speaker 2 (03:10:25):
Also uh, the world's toughest test special forces this reality
series now accusing Cam Newton of cheating, cheating on a challenge, uh,
and now worried about whether he'll make it to the end.

Speaker 8 (03:10:39):
Now.

Speaker 2 (03:10:40):
Now, we were amazed with his athletic ability and when
he jumped, you know, on the helicopter off the boat,
but then when he got in there on the gas
mask thing. He kind of acted and then when they
called him out about it, he kind of acted pouty
like he did after Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (03:10:52):
So it looked just like he pouted a little bit
and felt like what they're saying that that he.

Speaker 2 (03:10:59):
That he the he he cheated on. One of the
challenges is the accusation.

Speaker 3 (03:11:04):
And I don't know that I can be too upset
with who cheated counting burpies burpies stand in judgment of that,
I got nothing to say. I thought he had done
something bad. When Speedy said it was burpies, I said, well,
my goodness, I understand.

Speaker 4 (03:11:17):
Everybody's cheated on REP.

Speaker 2 (03:11:20):
I mean counted, yes, absolutely, yes, So there there nineteen twenty, Hey,
more bad news for Cam Newton and apparently Billy Ray Cyris.
Spirit Airlines no longer lying passengers with inappropriate clothing or
tattoos to fly. Well, well, it says, it says the

(03:11:41):
update became effective this week.

Speaker 3 (03:11:44):
You can't keep you off playing because they got tattoos.

Speaker 2 (03:11:47):
Well, they're saying inappropriate tattoos offenses. Yeah, if you go
up and say that you're in it. If they think
you're in inadequately clothed such as wearing sea through clothing
that exposed parts of your body or that there shouldn't
be exposed. You're not getting on and uh, you cannot
get on barefoot. Bad news for Adler and terrible news

(03:12:08):
for Rollside Willy.

Speaker 3 (03:12:09):
I don't know what he'll do.

Speaker 2 (03:12:10):
Yeah, and uh, and then they're saying, if you have
like tattoos that are you know, evil, twisted or just offensive,
you can't or see through clothing too.

Speaker 3 (03:12:20):
Yeah, yeah, my wardrobe.

Speaker 9 (03:12:24):
I was going to do some grounding with my sea
through tank top, but I guess I'm not going to.

Speaker 5 (03:12:29):
Do.

Speaker 3 (03:12:30):
You know, no, you guy, the day the days of
a society that knows how to appropriately dress, way over gone,
way over, good night. Some of the things people do,
you're just like, I don't, I don't know.

Speaker 8 (03:12:42):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (03:12:42):
Somebody said the bag man cheated, not cam.

Speaker 2 (03:12:49):
All right, Well, thank you for another great week together.

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
