But sometimes that's an individual thing more than it is
a macro thing. So be sure and always check check
on your end and make sure. But we think we're
good on our end because we're not getting a bunch

(03:04):
of people on that one. So as we get ready
to go forward, some things that are out there they'll
be they'll be recaps from things that are developing or
Speedy gave us a bit of a Debbie downer last night.
We were all kind of having a pretty good night.
So thanks for that speedy.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
He's doing show prep, getting ready, emailing myself some stories,
and I saw that one jump up as a lead
entertainment story. So I wanted to give y'all heads up.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
We knew that Dolly Parton had canceled, you know, some
of her dates for her Las Vegas residency. Yeah, she
seemed to be kind of upbeat and telling us not
to worry about it. Of course, you know, seventy nine
years old, and.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
I forget she's that old.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
I know now our sister's got to asking us I
pray for yep, mystery illness. Uh so, uh, that just
always has that look. Yeah, well, you'd like to see
Dolly be able to speak for herself if she couldn't. Boy,
I know Adler's already said, it's been tough here.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
Well, what was it last week we announced that she
had canceled some day or something. But I thought, yeah, yeah,
I thought, oh, look it's Dolly.

Speaker 4 (04:13):
You know, you never think Dolly. Nothing can get Dolly down.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
You don't want to see mystery illness, Like, what's that about?

Speaker 1 (04:20):
Doesn't that just mean doesn't that just mean they're not
ready to tell us?

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Could be trying to figure it out or you know,
mystery sounds hey, but it sounds good.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
Honestly, straight up, I am having some issues here with YouTube,
so yeah we'll be.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
Okay, Well, I'll probably have toxation.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
I'll probably have to stop the stream and restart it, all.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
Right, So tubers, we may have to reset it. And
thank you for letting us know that it was buffering badly.
So those things do help. And uh and Adler is
working on it.

Speaker 5 (04:49):
You love when you look at one thing and it
says like not working, and then you look at another
thing that.

Speaker 4 (04:54):
Says excellent connection.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
All right, okay, okay, that seems to be mutually Yeah, no,
it's not good.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
Okay, all right, guys, we got it.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
Hey, great, We can always tell when they begin to
come in multiple Yeah, it's all right. We're working on it.

Speaker 4 (05:10):
Yeah, sorry everyone.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
But it may call for a full reset, y'all. Don't
pay it when you reset.

Speaker 5 (05:14):
Yeah, yeah, I'm gonna do that now.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
Can I tell you he's doing it right now. I'll
say to hey, tuber, he's about to reset it. It's
all right, thank you right back. We love your we
love your passion. That really does make us feel good
that you care that much. By the way, I'm in
the five hour people. I'm always just people that that
catch to this every day for five hours. Yeah. Yeah,

(05:35):
we can't even be honest, Greg, you're not really into
it for five hours. No, I mean I'm.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
Here so uh And all those texts that you read
that are coming in live at five a m.

Speaker 4 (05:48):
Central. That's very motivating.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
That's I'm already here with you.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
I'm not I'm not even gonna arc out it. I'm
gonna go with you.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
Yes, that's by the way, that's what Rick is talking.
That is live coming at us at five.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
Can I tell you what I noticed too?

Speaker 1 (06:02):
And I found this out last weekend because there's there's
all this feedback we get. Now, then there's going to
events like y'all went to Speedy Greg, like I went to.
And I bet y'all go to nod your head too.
Of course I can't. I guess they might come to
something like a crap run. But can I tell you who?
We are a big time friend to truckers. Oh, I mean,

(06:22):
well think about it.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
That's a mean road.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
Hey, truckers ride with us? Yeah, I mean, I mean
I had some truckers when I was in Tennessee and
they were like, Hey, I'm with you all the time
live in archive. Thank y'all. Yeah for sure. Yeah, and
and that that's a that's a good bunch to have
on your side.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
By the way, have you told you with s S
I's Bob Carrey, Robert Carrey, I have not Yankees. Last
night Aaron Judge home run was good. They ended up winning,
and and uh, the atmosphere, everything about it was I

(07:02):
wish y'all cared more. Uh, it was really something else.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
It's special.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
It's baseball baseball. It's specially you guys.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
Yeah, and and I thought about the carries because I
know how much he loves the Yankees. And it actually
hit it looked like to me the left field foul pole.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
It did bounce back into onto the on the field, but.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
It was a bomb. It was absolutely a missile.

Speaker 4 (07:27):
Last night.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
He actually stood at home plate to try to see
if it even stayed fair when it and when it did,
the place went freaking nuts.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
So was it was it similar because I'm gonna show
my age a little bit. Uh when h on the
it went the other way because it was for their arrival.
But the Red Sox when the famous he's trying to
keep the home run foul. Yas Yas hits it.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
Do you remember that?

Speaker 1 (07:51):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, and he's going down the line and
he's trying to wave it, wave it fair and yeah,
and then it goes fair. Was it very similar to that?

Speaker 3 (07:59):
It?

Speaker 2 (07:59):
Well, yeah, it was one of those where you just like, okay,
it was destroyed. We know it's a home run, but
will it stay fair? You know, he just stood there
going Yeah. So it was very and.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
It's a very famous scene by the way. Yeah it's
going off the first base line and yeah, of course yeah,
uh so. Uh So, anyway, so the Yankees with a
big win, yeah, oh yeah, big win and they're playing
the Blue Jays.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
Yes, yes, they're playing the Blue Blue Jays when are
leading the series two to one.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
So, uh was not in the playoffs every day. There's
a different there. Don't be like that, all right?

Speaker 2 (08:31):
Uh they go, they got the the Mariners and the Tigers. Today,
if you you got the Brewers and the Cubs, the
Blue Jays and the Yankees and the Phillies and the Dodgers.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
Lord help us. They were already in October, I know.
But that's a bit. That's a lot of teams still
played in October. Good, gracious, I like the whole way better,
of course you do. I mean, I know only two
teams got a shot out of each league. But that's
that was good, right, big deal. It was crischety, old man,
that's what you've turned into. Yeah, anybody can get anybody

(09:01):
getting plays now. I remember the whole days when the
playoffs mean something. Yeah, it's only eight teams. Eight, Yeah,
you know how many.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
I mean, it's like how many ways. That's why I'm
saying that's a lot of teams.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
Greg Gregor used to be. We started with eight from
the very beginning.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
Less.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
Yeah, but so so we will. We will continued update
you on what's going on. But I mean the Dolly
News today, we got good news for Yankee fans. Dolly
News last night, little sobering. But we don't know, I mean,
we don't't know her anything. She's seventy nine, y'all, seventy nine.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
And again every time I read a story about that,
I forget she's seventy nine. Well, yeah, because she's been rebuilt.
I mean, she don't look saventy nine, but she is.

Speaker 4 (09:47):
Yeah, she don't look seventy nine.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
Yeah, you don't know how how many original parts?

Speaker 2 (09:51):
Are there? Not many?

Speaker 1 (09:53):
Uh? So we'll be back, and she would she would
enjoy it making fun of that. Oh yeah, we'll be right.

Speaker 6 (10:00):
Fact, this is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
All right.

Speaker 1 (10:09):

That's Christiancollegeguide dot com. So there's a picture here that

(12:00):
has sent the show is shocked. Uh. This is a
picture of someone that is pretty well known on the
set of a new movie that he's doing, and we
we can't believe this is who we think it is.
If you look at this picture, who in the world, Wow,

(12:22):
do you think that.

Speaker 4 (12:22):
Is John Voight?

Speaker 2 (12:25):
Good? That's John Test was.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
About to say with the wig. We're looking at this picture, guys, sharp, guys,
what would you what was the gay comedian that the
that's I should have been more specific, you know, Andy something.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
And I know you're talking about.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
That. To be a gay man with that last name
must be a struggle. But but anyway, so so you yeah,
but he does it looks like he does. Okay, are
you all ready for who that is? That is Jonah Hill?
What them Jonah Hills way different because he had kind

(13:13):
of a frow. Yeah, and that may be for the
part in the movie. But look how slimmy is shot.
It's got to be shots. He's one of them that
would lose weight, blow back up, lose weight, blow back up.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
Yeah, he uh Jonah Hill. And now that doesn't look
like him at all, y'all. So we're gonna describe what
what it looks like? Thin, very thin person. Yeah?

Speaker 1 (13:33):
Is that is that a wig?

Speaker 2 (13:34):
Yeah? I think he's in a comedy cyrial curly tight hair.
Aren't they filming something about he's a twin somebody's twin
in that he did?

Speaker 1 (13:42):
I think I have no idea. It's in the it's
in the story. So the guys, let me tell you this.
I was shying to look like him. I was talking
to the guys in the room. I know that if
you you can't see the picture. Uh, but he he he.
At one time, I don't like when when I see
fat people get involved in using the term body shaming.

(14:04):
Come on, I mean, that's that's taking ourselves too serious. Look,
if you're a little heavy, you know, Bubba and I
made a living at it for three decades not taking
ourselves too serious. We knew we were a little plump,
and you know, you make the jokes, you cut up.
It takes the pressure off everybody else, you know, to
go ahead acknowledge you know the chubby person in the room. Uh.

(14:27):
And he at one time had in twenty twenty one,
had an Instagram post where he said it you wish
people would stop commenting on his body, and he said,
I know you you mean well, but I'd kindly ask
you not comment on my body, a good or bad.
I just don't want any discussion of my physical body
at all, if possible. I'm adding that part. But that's

(14:49):
when you blow up and yeah, make down. Well, I
mean it's I think I had him run there. Wow.
I think it's it's unreasonable if you're someone who came
on the scene and we're well known for being heavy,
and then you addressed it, which I think is a
good thing and lost weight if you did it in

(15:09):
a healthy way. And I don't think you can expect
people to not comment on it. I mean, because you
haven't always looked this way and now you look different. Yeah,
I think don't you think that's an unreasonable thing?

Speaker 2 (15:22):
Even if you're saying, hey, you've lost he don't want
to hear.

Speaker 1 (15:25):
But he has deleted that, so maybe he's not asking
for that anymore. But guys, those of you that can't
see the picture, just go google the movie cut off
in Jonah Hill. You won't believe what you're saying. One,
he hasn't just lost weight.

Speaker 2 (15:38):
He stressed up obviously as a character.

Speaker 1 (15:40):
Right, but look look at how skinny is in the
in the wardrobe very I mean, he's he's really really skinny.
And I don't know how he did it. I assume
he may be the shots, but I don't know. I
don't know how whatever.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
I mean he tried to get down to look like
is it Kristin Wig or w I I G.

Speaker 4 (15:58):
Maybe yeah, Christen WII from Messing Out.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
Okay, uh, they're they're twins in this movie.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
Okay, I bet it's funny because he's funny. Yeah he
goes a little down.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
Yeah he does.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
But and look, Jonah Hill can be very funny and
like you said, and then sometimes you know he uh,
I remember when he was heavy, Like one time he
pretended he was. He and his buddy were they were
all in on it together and it looked like that.
There the reporter was being I mean very crash and
mean about his weight, and he had all mad and

(16:31):
stormed off and now come to find out that was
just a set up. Yeah. So uh so anyway, it
is shocking to see Jonah Hill right now. Yeah, because
I'm like you, Greg, I thought he I thought he
dropped some and then started picking it back up. But
now it's dropped again, Yeah, in a big way. And
uh but you know, sometimes, like you say, it may

(16:53):
be that that after the the role, I mean, he
will he put it back on.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
I mean, I bet he goes to a different hairdge.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
I was shocked. I saw a thing. I forget what
movie it was, do you Christian Bale? You know he'll
just do anything to be right for the role. Oh yeah,
and lose weight.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
Anyway, And at one time have you seen when he
was like fat gold gut and he had a shirt
one button was hanging out.

Speaker 2 (17:16):
He didn't care crazy Yeah, and he's tat it up.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
Yeah, he has.

Speaker 3 (17:20):
Jonah Hill has been uh look here's a fat and
then not his fat picture of him or not fat
at all pictures and jiu jitsu has been something there.

Speaker 2 (17:29):
Has gotten.

Speaker 4 (17:31):
That'll that'll wear you out.

Speaker 2 (17:33):
You'll let him get you on the ground.

Speaker 5 (17:34):
You'll burn some calories in jiu jitsu for sure.

Speaker 1 (17:36):
By the way, I have the long sleeve version, but
the fat picture of Jonah Hill, I have that exact shirt. Yeah.
So uh yeah, so it is uh he has. He
has dropped the weight and if jiu jitsu and working
out and all that has helped, you know, for it
not to be you know, when you're dropping weight as

(17:56):
best you can try, try to move around and exercise
so it can ona you know your body like Jelly Roll, right,
I haven't haven't seen Jelly Jelly off thet I knew,
I knew him.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
I was talking music with Greg earlier, and did you
know his song Heart of Soul Jelly Roll is number
one on country charts. That means that every that's his
eighth consecutive number one hit, which means that every single
that Jelly has released to country radio is going number
one country country radio has gone number one radio.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
Did you think we were going to cut you off?

Speaker 2 (18:32):
You start, buddy, you got it? I just I didn
start calling y'all. That was no.

Speaker 1 (18:42):
It looked like it looked like you were afraid something
was going to explode. If you if you well, I
knew with y'all.

Speaker 2 (18:46):
Yeah, it's got to do with it. Five seconds five seconds.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
I was asking, are we causing this? Yes, because I
told you I'm start making.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
Those thankful I told you that. No, because that is
something else. Every hit is on number one, so he is.
He hain't had a dud everything he released. I'm tired
of it, but you are? Yeah, why so you're that
guy Row?

Speaker 1 (19:15):
Of course he's not good and I'm glad he ain't
as fat as he was and all that.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
And we brought that down from everybody likes him. I
need a break from Jailer Row. Are you shocked at
Greg has a statude?

Speaker 6 (19:27):
I'm not.

Speaker 2 (19:28):
I mean j is not really in your life. You
can avoid him now.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
He's in my life lot. He's on a lot of
TV stuff. He look for a while, he became country
music's Patty Lubelle. You're right, he was on host that
every show. Everything. Nah good for doing. No, look listen
if you want if you like Jelly, you got plenty. Yes. Yeah,
I'm not drafting mcgreg. I'm just making the point and
there's nothing wrong. I'm just saying sometimes we get a

(19:51):
little overexposed. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (19:52):
Sure.

Speaker 1 (19:53):
And you know, and the thing that worries as much
waighty oplay Okay, well, no, one of the things that
worries you about that because we seen it in the
past and I thought we had kind of addressed it
is that the machine and I'm not talking about specifically
big machine, but the machine that brings you out. You know.
Once he made that deal, re member, I almost didn't
make it because he was doing so well on YouTube.

(20:14):
You know, his encoder went out and that was the
end of that. But but no, when he remember, he said,
it was tough for me to transition because I was like, yeah,
I'm doing pretty good without all y'all. Yeah, but once
he stepped in to go to the next level with
all these people that can give you even a bigger platform.
They a lot of times run these artists into the ground.
You with them up while they're hot. Yeah, And I'm like, Jelly,

(20:35):
you know, pay yourself now, pace yourself. You're on everything.
And I don't know how in the world these singers
sing as much as they do without destroying their voice.

Speaker 2 (20:45):
I mean, especially on that schedule night after night, yep,
and so Greg, you're burned out on Jelly Row.

Speaker 1 (20:51):
Nothing bad. I mean, I'm just you know, you're happy.

Speaker 2 (20:54):
Are you happy?

Speaker 1 (20:54):
First weight loss? I am okay? Running in five k's
you look down at that?

Speaker 2 (21:01):
Yeah? All right.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
So a couple of things people from text Nation saying
jelly roll is just music, and it's good music, but
it's not country music. Well here we go again with
all this. Well he's not the only artist considered country.
I think that doesn't sound country.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
No.

Speaker 1 (21:24):
I remember Zach Brown Band, you know, when they were
appearing on the Rick and Bubba Show. I never thought
they were a country music act. I thought they were
just a music act. I didn't really know where they fell.
It's all according to when you come out. You know,
if Jelly Row would have come out in the seventies,
he would not have been country music. He would have
been on just your top forty radio stations and all that,

(21:45):
just like everybody everybody else. The Eagles, if they came
out today, would probably be deemed a country artist. The
early stuff, the early stuff especially, So it's just all
it's whatever platform they can get you the largest audience.
And I don't think I think the younger country music
artists they're not as concerned with maybe the things the

(22:05):
older country music artist artists would consider. You know, you
have to have this for it to be branded. Country
music has to have a certain sound or whatever. So yeah,
to me, if when we were like growing up, Jelly
Row would have just been on the radio, he wouldn't
have just been on country radio. There was a time
when these fragmented formats didn't even exist. I mean, you

(22:29):
you listened to your top forty radio station and it
played Alabama, it played you know, right, Crosby Stills in Nash,
it played Hall and Oates, it played Doctor Hook. You know,
all these were all on the same radio station.

Speaker 2 (22:44):
You know.

Speaker 1 (22:44):
Then then it would play, you know, something that was
a little more rock. It was just all hits, no
matter what it was. And then it started becoming important
to be labeled what format you were yeh. And it
all became specialized. And then people argue about, you know,
if it's specialized and it doesn't belong on this. But
think about it, if Jelly Row wants to be played

(23:06):
on the radio of the now that it's all fragmented,
which one would he be because you're really pretty much
all you have is top forty, which leans a little
more hip hop now.

Speaker 2 (23:18):
And he's on all that. Yeah, you on that?

Speaker 1 (23:20):
You have you have adult contemporary? Do they play new songs?
I don't even know. You've got your classic rock stations,
You've got you, Yeah, you've got your country music stations
that there's not that many options. Do you know any
one of the biggest examples BlackBerry Smoke, which I love.
Had never heard of them, and they had been out
a while. They weren't new, and I know a lot

(23:41):
of people saying, wall hey man, I started, and then
you look, they've been doing this a long time. They're
too country for rock radio and too rock for country radio. Correct,
so they're never gonna get that. They're extremely successful, but
they're not gonna get airplay. Yes, not the first time
I heard they're incredible. Yeah, the first time I heard
Zach Brown band, I thought the same thing. I said,
there's no radio home for them. Yeah, they don't fit anywhere,
and whoever in their circle, whatever record company decided to

(24:07):
bring them country was brilliant because it worked. But I
don't think they ever considered themselves country artists and probably
still don't. I was trying to find one the first
time I heard him, I thought, well, who's gonna play
Van Morrison? This is a Van Morrison kind of band?

Speaker 3 (24:21):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (24:22):
And where are they going to find a radio home?
But they brilliantly did it. Oh Chicken Fried got it done.
Somebody decided that was country enough and that opened the door?

Speaker 2 (24:31):
Boy did it?

Speaker 4 (24:32):
You knew who a country act?

Speaker 2 (24:35):
It is a great thing. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (24:36):
Maybe you don't call them a country act, but a
southern sounding act that I finally gave a ton to
is the Red Clay Strait.

Speaker 1 (24:44):
Yeah, I love them. I list for.

Speaker 3 (24:47):
About an hour and a half yesterday and I kind
of just dabbled in the hits, but I got a
lot deeper into the catalog.

Speaker 2 (24:53):
And how about I.

Speaker 4 (24:54):
The more I.

Speaker 5 (24:55):
Listened to them, the more I even like them. And
that doesn't happen a lot of time.

Speaker 3 (24:57):
You know some artists you're like, all right, I get it,
and you could say that they have a one note
sound to them, But I think, after listening to a
lot of their stuff, I don't think that's the case.

Speaker 4 (25:09):
I think they have their own sound.

Speaker 3 (25:11):
I think, really my respect for that band has gone
up exponentially. Listen to their entire interview on Joe Rogan,
so recently did you say?

Speaker 4 (25:21):
And it started out great.

Speaker 3 (25:22):
They took a great stand for Christ right at the beginning,
but then they later on got started getting into the
Book of Enoch oh No, and some things like that
and talking about it as if it was the gospel,
and that that was a little troubling to me.

Speaker 4 (25:35):
So I got to dig into all that.

Speaker 1 (25:36):
But well, I saw the one that you saw, but
I didn't get I didn't go all the way into
that interview. I'm kind of the opposite of people who
loved the long form format. I'm the kind of person
that goes, now, I don't know if we need to
talk that long to the same person. You know, it
is a I mean, it can work. But so I
watched the clip about them talking about their faith and

(25:58):
how well that worked in a band on the road
because nobody was the arrogant prima donna. They would literally
argue over who was going to sleep on the floor,
who not, who was gonna get the bed. Because of
their devotion to their their faith, they were they all
wanted to be selfless, and he said that really serves
well when you're all on the road together and nobody

(26:20):
thinks they're better than anybody else, or should be treated differently,
or should be the one that gets to the bed
all the time because I'm the lead singer or whatever. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (26:27):
Yeah, So I was so impressed with them, and I
dug deeper into some of their songs. I was very
impressed with the lyrics of their songs. And that's why
I was so surprised for them to turn that direction
later on in the interview, because they they the lead
singer especially, did a great job of talking about what
it is to be a follower of Christ and have
a larger purpose in your life.

Speaker 4 (26:48):
And it was that part.

Speaker 2 (26:50):
It was great.

Speaker 4 (26:51):
The other parts of it, I was a little worried.

Speaker 1 (26:53):
Well, I'll tell this to you, and I'm not gonna
come down as hard on that as you may think,
because I get a lot of book of emails. I
mean a lot, especially now that we're doing strange encounters,
and I tell people have nothing to do with it.
I don't. I don't consider the Book of Enoch to
be of worthy of my time. You know, I go

(27:17):
with the canonized scriptures, but I do think as long
as you don't start changing redemption and the Gospel, I
don't see it as a primary issue. I almost see
it as a secondary issue. I agree, you know, disagreeing
on you know, free will and and you know Calvinism

(27:40):
versus our Minionism, you know, are you know, I know
some people believe the baptism thing is is a major issue.
I think that people can disagree on on water baptism
being part of redemption, are an act of obedience and
we all still get the gospel right now. Some people
disagree with that. But but I look at Enoch is

(28:01):
a secondary issue. Agree, I wouldn't read it. I don't
ever promote it. When people ask me about it, I say,
I wouldn't. I wouldn't give that any of your time.
And I like I said, there's enough in the Canoni
scriptures that you need to know.

Speaker 5 (28:14):
And I listened to the entire thing. And they didn't
do that. They did not.

Speaker 3 (28:17):
There was never an issue with them changing like you said, yeah,
the story of redemption, so yes, you could put it
into like a pre trib post trib kind of debate.
Secondary yet and they approached it very much as like
a historical thing, not a changing the route to salvation thing,

(28:39):
which was great, so that that was more reassuring, but speedy.
I thought about you the whole time listening to that
interview and the whole time listening.

Speaker 5 (28:46):
To that music yesterday, because it is I was so
impressed with them.

Speaker 1 (28:49):
Man.

Speaker 3 (28:50):
I knew like maybe four songs, but I got like
twenty songs deep, thirty songs deep yesterday and it is
great stuff, great cool country sound Automobile Alabama.

Speaker 4 (28:59):
With the Rake Red Clay Station.

Speaker 5 (29:01):
And they're huge, they are they have blown up.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
Good for them.

Speaker 6 (29:03):
I love them.

Speaker 1 (29:04):
I love them.

Speaker 2 (29:05):
Top of the hour. We'll be right back.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
Stay close.

Speaker 6 (29:14):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (29:22):
Keeping it real as there has been an attempt to create.

Speaker 2 (29:26):
A world that is not real.

Speaker 1 (29:28):
Uh So when you tune in here, get you back
to reality, and we thank you for being here.

Speaker 2 (29:36):
However you are here, whether it be live or archived,
all right.

Speaker 1 (29:40):
So check the store by the way, some brand new
items at the Rick Burgess Show store if you haven't
checked that lately, or you can text store to eight
eight eight six two four four eight six nine. That's
our text line. It's eight eight eight six big vox
to text store. You can see some brand new stuff
there and we got some new items still to come

(30:01):
and then, of course, as we move toward believe it
or not what I'm saying, as we move toward ending
our first year as the Rick Burgess Show, we will
release the first ever Rick Burgess Show Best of CD.
And I got a text from Speedy yesterday and he's
saying he's the one who produces those and puts those together.

(30:22):
He said, I'm I'm having a blast.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
Oh it's it's it's fun. I always, you know, get
set up this time of year at the house. Ye
and and Terry is entertained most of time. I have
my headphones on, but every now and then it's coming
out the speaker of the of the computer. And she
gets to laughing too. But there's been a couple where
I have been down. I mean, yes, I mean laughing,

(30:45):
and a lot of it's just pure chaos. There's one
of Adler I'm gonna keep to myself. Oh really, he
remembers if I was to say something. But it's funny
what we did to him.

Speaker 1 (30:58):
God, it's funny, easy, still a little wounded, I know.
So so that'll be uh, that'll be coming out usually
the hard copy CDs, and a lot of you are
letting me know you still want that to be an option. Now,
we don't produce near as many of those as we
did way back in the Rick and Bubby years. Early on.

(31:18):
We even started reducing the number of those greatly toward
the end of the Rick and Bubba three decades. But
we will have some hard copies will still be there
at the store. But then and we're trying to get
it to streaming quicker. We've learned over the years. But
we should be you should be turning all that in. Uh.

Speaker 2 (31:36):
The goal is is that we want to have it
the Monday of Thanksgiving week. It's out and so we'll
be turning that in a couple of weeks and they'll
they'll push it through.

Speaker 1 (31:46):
So anyway, so look forward to that. That'll be coming
up later on and they'll and then we'll move our
way into our first ever Christmas season together. And of
course we we have learned even though we do have
one grand prize, I think you're going to like that's
a big time gift, but we also are going to
to just concentrate on money. We think the thing you

(32:10):
want more than anything is cash. We've given a lot
of it away. Well, we'll let you know how we're
gonna do all that, but that that'll work, that's all. Yeah,
I know, I know y'all can't believe that, but it's
we're in October.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
Oh yeah, but look here, we we're so far umber ten.
By the way, we're so far along in the year
that the city of Pittsburgh has already put up their
Christmas tree.

Speaker 1 (32:34):
You got to be way too early. You believe that,
way way too early? Is that not insane? Uh?

Speaker 2 (32:42):
And uh here's a little kid rick out of my
channel that talks about the little Christmas tree being up
in Pittsburgh.

Speaker 1 (32:48):
I really say it.

Speaker 7 (32:49):
Because we're gonna ice skate on.

Speaker 6 (32:52):
Me and my family are gonna ice skate on the tree.

Speaker 3 (32:55):
But I gotta say they should have waited for Halloween first.

Speaker 4 (33:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (33:01):
Yeah, the little kid even knows that two months before
the holidays it's up. That's a local news channel that way.

Speaker 1 (33:12):
Wait, how about this Christmas trees and pumpkins don't need
to be able to get together? Makes sense.

Speaker 2 (33:18):
We've talked about this, but forgive me, I have forgotten.
What is y'all's most favorite time of the year? Is it?
As you kind of lean into the holidays and you
you know, I know, I know you like cooler weather.
I know that, but it is the fall into the
holidays season? Is that your favorite time?

Speaker 1 (33:33):
Kind of like that?

Speaker 2 (33:34):
You know?

Speaker 1 (33:35):
You know I do?

Speaker 2 (33:37):
I do like that.

Speaker 1 (33:37):
The only thing that is Brandon I know Greg pretty well.
The only problem, and I agree with him. There's I
wish we could really I don't. There's a lot of pressure.
There's charts coming down on you. To me, that takes
away from it. You know, the decorating is to me
for some reason, I have a hard time making that fun.

(33:59):
That's why I did a turnkey because I wanted to
have my life back on that. A lot of it,
but you know, the dealing with the trees and they
got to go up and they got to come down, and.

Speaker 2 (34:08):
Everybody's got it.

Speaker 1 (34:09):
We got everybody's gifts done, and how we're gonna plan
this thing. We'll say so it's okay't come then what
about that? So then that that part of it, I thought,
I like this time of the year.

Speaker 2 (34:18):
Now you pretty much point out everything I hated it.

Speaker 1 (34:20):
But no, I'm saying that makes that keeps me from
embracing it fully. But I honestly, honestly, now where we
live right now, we got duped a little bit because
it last weekend was so nice. Now it's gotten hot
again this week. As I found out yesterday when I
was trying to do a little better, I was like,
where does he come from? But I really do enjoy

(34:43):
the month of October because it gets it gets, you know,
the humidity. Of course, this week's different, careful, but but
the humidity usually goes away where we live. You start
getting a little bit of coolness. I love the way
the sky looks in October. It's like cobalt blue on
a on a little sunny day with no humidity. Of course,

(35:04):
now I'm not talking about this. Apparently this week is
going to ruin that. But when we get back to
that and what we had last weekend, I really enjoy.
And because there's there's not a lot of pressure. We
don't do Halloween, so we don't have to fool with that.
I don't like going in somewhere, you know, and feel
like I've stepped into the meeting of the occult, you know,
at a store, but it was weird. I just stay

(35:26):
away from all that. But but other than that, I
really like football is usually good in October and fun
to watch games, and then Probably one thing that I'm
starting to love more and more about, especially hunting, is
you know when it when we finally have our first
frost and all the underbrush dies and all the mosquitoes

(35:49):
go away, and you can see deep into the woods
because all of that's died off and the leaves are gone,
and you can see those hardwoods, and and you can
look deep and see things in the woods you couldn't
see before. That's why Gray's gonna climb.

Speaker 2 (36:02):
Gray's gonna climb.

Speaker 1 (36:03):
I'll be all over that, you know, I really, I
really enjoy that. I like being I like being layered
up and going out on kind of a brisk day
where you cheach you a little red if you don't
watch them and walk through the woods. Yeah, I love that.
Isn't that great? Yeah? So I don't mind winner, I
really don't. I know, so some people don't like it.

Speaker 2 (36:20):
I don't mind winning bugs alone.

Speaker 5 (36:22):
Maybe say all right, let's go let's deep freeze.

Speaker 2 (36:24):
Yeah, mine with it?

Speaker 1 (36:25):
Yeah yeah, yeah, so.

Speaker 4 (36:27):
That bugs and chafing alone.

Speaker 2 (36:28):
Yes, right.

Speaker 1 (36:30):
Somebody's asking on text nation too, And I did notice
this adler, you know, when people are saying, have you
have you ever thought about the fact that Vinyl has
returned put out the best of album on Vinyl. You know,
Vinyl is back. Yeah, I don't participate in it, but

(36:51):
Vinyl is back. I mean I saw some of these
kids that Adler unfortunately. You know, think Taylor Swift is
gonna teach you about life, and they went and you
know about her dirty album and uh and I could
see them pictures of them walking out of record stores
with albums. So albums are legit now.

Speaker 4 (37:09):
Albums have all out sold CDs.

Speaker 5 (37:12):
I forget when that happened by having a.

Speaker 4 (37:14):
Few years ago.

Speaker 3 (37:15):
As far as physical sales of copies, albums are bright Man.
Album albums are fun. The pictures are bigger. You get
to hold it, you get to watch it spin.

Speaker 5 (37:24):
Lay the needl down.

Speaker 2 (37:25):
It's just a it's a great medium, and the players
have come so far. They're bluetooth now, so you can
grab one and you know, and have the Vinyl and
bluetooth it into your system at home where you don't
have to like connect it through the wires and all
they may.

Speaker 1 (37:39):
They've made it really simple. You remember the days when
you had you had to go get the right speakers.
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah that was but but now you
can just go get one of those Bluetooth speakers and
they're good. Oh yeah, those big ones. I got one
in big ones.

Speaker 2 (37:52):
It's good.

Speaker 1 (37:53):
Yeah. Look, I grew up in the vinyl days. I've
had my feel of that. I don't need to do
that again. Really made the greatest form of music was
the CD.

Speaker 2 (38:02):
YEP.

Speaker 1 (38:03):
I love the way it sounded good. It was durable, yep.
But now, but now the new artists, they're going to
have a certain amount of albums out there, probably.

Speaker 2 (38:10):
More than c D. Like I say, they're expensive. If
you watch Bosh and he comes home and throw some
jazz music on, who is Bosh?

Speaker 1 (38:18):
Who show?

Speaker 2 (38:19):
It's a show off Amazon Prime, it's it's an l
A detective.

Speaker 1 (38:24):
Uh yeah, I've nember one of these. You like that?

Speaker 2 (38:27):
But he well, because whenever he would come home, he
would he would throw an album on his on his
player and play.

Speaker 1 (38:34):
The jazz music. You like it?

Speaker 2 (38:35):
It was it made me want it made me want one.
I'll be honest, what are you going to start listening
to jazz? Or just wanted to for a second. There,
you know, he's got his own playlist on a lot
of these streaming deals. For a second, I did listen
to a little bit.

Speaker 1 (38:47):
Of it, but Jazz I did. I didn't know that
all right.

Speaker 3 (38:49):
Twenty twenty three, Vinyl out cells CDs forty one million
albums sold compared to thirty three million CDs.

Speaker 2 (38:56):
Wow, good, great sinnscreen phone calls.

Speaker 6 (38:58):
Next is the Reek, but just show.

Speaker 1 (39:06):
So, Bill Belichick, mm hmm, it's uh oh Bill, it's
it's worse than I think we, any of us could
even imagine, and all of you, we were talking about
it in the break. Things look completely different when you're
losing and losing big than they do if you're winning
and winning big. Suddenly your cutoff sweatshirt is annoying. Yeah,

(39:30):
it's dress a little bit, it's not. It's not. Suddenly
your dry personality is now on our nerves. Suddenly your
your little girlfriend hanging around it's all annoying us now,
right right, So if you're winning, you don't know if
you're winning. Hey, look at him. I love how he
just wears in sweats and hoodies with the sleeves cut out.

(39:50):
I love his just dry sense of humor, tearing that
sugar up on the sideline. Yeah, look at him. Look
at him kissing his granddaughter I'm so oh my gosh,
what is that. Yeah, so, but it's gone so bad.
Fans are leaving the games. Yep. And you're you said
they've Hulu is saying, I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (40:09):
Yes, so they had the docu series plan Bill Belichick's
first year to coach University of North Carolina.

Speaker 1 (40:14):
It was going to hit this fall.

Speaker 2 (40:16):
But since the losing season is the way it is,
thousands of fans to your point, walked out of last game,
the last game before halftime. Hulu people dot com is
reporting is dumping the series.

Speaker 1 (40:28):
They're scratched.

Speaker 2 (40:29):
Oh wow, and they say that it will not happen.
And it's really bizarre, just to be honest with you,
I mean, because it is what it is. He is.
I mean, he's gonna go down as one of the
best coaches to ever coach NFL. Sure he is. Now
we can say had Tom brak whatever he is, he's
going to But you know he was on college game

(40:50):
day when when Sabing cust at him and said he
was full of something and he was walking the field.
You know how they'll do sometimes in pre game, which
is your favorite part of the game, Greg, because everybody's happy,
you know, and there's at that point and he's walking around,
Uh and Pat mcpheel and said, I can't believe Bill Belichick.
It took time to do this because there was some

(41:11):
technical difficulties and everything, and he came out and just
announced we don't have the players, you know, which is
kind of on him because he went out to.

Speaker 1 (41:19):
The portal and got holy roster. You know, that makes
your team feel great if it's true.

Speaker 2 (41:23):
You don't say yeah because and because I'm thinking, you know,
so I'm in the locker room, you're out there on
You're getting paid a lot of money, you're in charge,
and you take the heat. He says it's going to
take a couple of years to build a program back
and and kind of what it wasn't is that Mac.

Speaker 1 (41:37):
Brown that was there before him. Yeah, he kind of
dogged them and said, hey.

Speaker 2 (41:41):
You know, the recruiting has been down the last couple
of years here, and it's a total rebuild and it's
gonna take us a couple of years. And so it's
not looking good. Well, and so they they canceled the series.
It keeps getting worse.

Speaker 1 (41:53):
So yeah, because they're like, who wants to see this now?

Speaker 2 (41:54):
It's not yeah.

Speaker 1 (41:55):
Successful. There's no story here. It's just it's a train wreck.

Speaker 2 (41:58):
Now.

Speaker 1 (41:58):
I would like to see doctor Henry of Bill Belichick,
and yeah, yeah I would. But the problem I have
with these excuses he's making. First of all, I don't
like to hear people make excuses, no, even if they're true,
and we are our father, father's son. The other is,
I look at the guy Atsissippi State. Yeah, I mean

(42:19):
he came in and everybody left. His entire offense and
his entire starting defense all left. Yep. He he struggled
last year, and the very next year he has Mississippi
State competitive, and I mean not and day from last year.
Even in their losses, they've looked good. Okay. So if Bill,

(42:41):
if Belichick doesn't do that next year, then you're like, okay,
are you going to keep making these excuses? So to me,
this buys him one season. But I've just seen Florida State.
I've just seen too many people, even though I know
they've lost a couple now, but they don't look at stuff.
They're better than that Dean Sanders in Colorado.

Speaker 2 (42:58):
I know he had your door in Travis and and
some other skilled guys, but don't you don't you remember
the story, didn't he keep two roster guys from the
first time he was at Colorado? He got rid of everybody,
everybody and did pretty good that year.

Speaker 1 (43:13):
And that's the thing with the portal now and then
I on all that you can build a team in
a hurry. Great question off text nation, what was the
biggest failure Spurrier and the pros?

Speaker 2 (43:25):
Are a Belichick in college? Well this one here. I mean,
I gotta say, Belichick, yeah, you're going to have this
year because they're not even competitive. No, no, I mean
they're not even competitive.

Speaker 1 (43:36):
I remember, I know Spurried, I can't remember, but I
don't remember the well Spurrier's teams were. You know, Saban
didn't do great in the Pros, but their teams were competitive,
weren't they. Yeah, they weren't. Belichick's team is. I know
it's two different leagues, but I mean now it's pretty
much pro football in North Carolina, which is probably when
they thought they were making a good decision. He's going
to get a chance, but he because his athletic director

(43:59):
is supporting him. He's handling it right, I mean, the
president's handling right.

Speaker 2 (44:02):
I know.

Speaker 1 (44:03):
But what I'm saying is when you go out and
grab an older guy that's been crazy successful and he
could be in retirement. He didn't have financial woes that
we know of. I don't think so anytime this girl anyway,
saying he keeps dating these young girls, he's gonna have
financial woes. He looks worn out. Yeah, he does look tired.
He can he can't keep this space now, But anyway.

Speaker 2 (44:26):
Stress it will and at home and at at work. Right.

Speaker 1 (44:31):
Uh, but and at home really ages you quicker. But
but but anyway, you just take the chance that he says,
why am I doing this? Yeah, at some point he't
got the thing doing on. No, I had to demand
an answer on something like that. The other day, I
was talking to somebody about something that wasn't going great,

(44:52):
and the person is extremely wealthy, and I said, I
have to know why they're continuing this, and they did
have some answers, so I thought, oh, okay, But but I mean,
if I'm Bill Belichick, I don't have to put up
with this everybody making fun of me not doing well
in college and everybody getting them walking out and all this,
I could just say I'm headed to wherever and I'm done,

(45:13):
and I've got all the Super Bowl trophies, i got
all the money I made, So you run that risk.
I mean, he's not like a young guy trying to
make his way. No, I know he's a younger guy
that's going to leave it any moment. It's a family
affair because I know his boys are with him. But
you know he's definitely not going to walk away like this.
He's going to have to give it a couple of
more years, don't you say, because he can't anyway, he
may turn it around.

Speaker 2 (45:34):
We're just saying right now, it's just not starting. And
he's come out and said, we don't have the players.
So here's the locker room, putting your pads on you.
He appreciate you if you're one of the players. He's claiming,
it is not we don't have players. That hurt That
hurts you.

Speaker 1 (45:47):
Well, be careful with the Mac Brown comparison to because
Mac Brown had North Carolina playing pretty good football. Yeah,
Jeane Chiswick did too.

Speaker 6 (45:55):
Yeah. Yeah, this is the Rick Burgess show.

Speaker 1 (46:05):

Speaker 1 (46:54):
No? I do not.

Speaker 2 (46:55):
I don't like.

Speaker 1 (46:56):
I don't like the way it sounds.

Speaker 2 (46:57):
It's a peanut butter and marshmallow cream sound.

Speaker 1 (47:00):

Speaker 1 (47:21):
Yeah, that you get Are you you telling me where
you and I grew up greg around We couldn't call
it around the people we grew up. No, you would

Speaker 2 (47:33):
No, no, no, okay? Ye? Would you? Would they have one?

Speaker 1 (47:39):
Would want to not tell them?

Speaker 2 (47:40):
Would you we use the first part of the last
part of the name because you say I'm gonna go
get a flutter?

Speaker 1 (47:45):
Is it a flutter or fluffer? Fluffer fluffer fluffer? Say
that either? Okay, research that time and you're not gonna
he's in the area. He don't realize he's in I know.
You just need to just yeah, Lando.

Speaker 2 (48:03):
Would you call it everything? You call it fluff?

Speaker 1 (48:06):
You want code the fluffer?

Speaker 2 (48:08):
You will?

Speaker 1 (48:09):
Please don't. I'm just saying, Hey.

Speaker 2 (48:11):
I wanted you to say. I'm not going to say it.
I'm not a nutterer if you yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (48:17):
That's very good. What do we in sesame streng fluff
or fluffer fluffer, fluffer adler do something.

Speaker 2 (48:23):
You can't fluffer nudder. It's a sandwich, y'all. It's a sandwich.

Speaker 1 (48:29):
Nervous, it's a sandwich.

Speaker 2 (48:31):
It's a it's a peanut butter and marshmallow cream.

Speaker 1 (48:33):
Sound. Well, here's what I would say, and I want
a peanut butter marshmallow sandwich. That you got it, But
what's that? I still have to say it on the show.
Not gonna say that.

Speaker 3 (48:42):
You're right, Rick, Yeah, we call a peanut butter and
jelly sandwich a peanut butter jelly sandwich.

Speaker 4 (48:47):
I think we could call this a peanut butter and marshmallows.

Speaker 1 (48:50):
Know, it's a fluffer point. I've never heard of it,
never had one. I'm sure Elvis did so. Speedy, you
be like, I tell you what. I'm craven, I need
a fluff or.

Speaker 2 (49:01):
Yeah, I'll tell you what. Today it started get hurt
northeast in New England, Massachusetts and stuff like that.

Speaker 1 (49:10):
Yeah, just sounds like some Yankees would do.

Speaker 2 (49:14):
Listen to.

Speaker 1 (49:16):
I wish you would have been here earlier today Off
the air, when Speedy walked up to Greg and asked
him what he thought it was, it was.

Speaker 2 (49:26):
I didn't, that's Rick, That's what I thought it was.

Speaker 1 (49:29):
I know you didn't. I know you did. I said,
I hope you're not going on air with that, right,
And you're like, and tell me this and the topic today. Yeah,
I'll tell you what I think.

Speaker 2 (49:39):
What's the first thing you think of when you hear that?

Speaker 1 (49:41):
Excuse me?

Speaker 2 (49:42):
Like, let me tell you.

Speaker 1 (49:44):
I'm not gonna you don't want me to. I'm not
gonna don't. I'm not saying he is dying. I literally
am teaching a bobble study of to day. I ain't
saying it.

Speaker 2 (49:56):
Great, stop it.

Speaker 1 (49:58):
I want to break. No, you won't do that, all right.

Speaker 2 (50:02):
I know you're not big on peanut butter and jelly sandwiches,
are you not?

Speaker 1 (50:05):
Really? I eat just peanut butter really, if I do,
If I don't, yeah, I don't.

Speaker 6 (50:09):
To me.

Speaker 1 (50:10):
To me, the peanut butter sandwich by itself falls a
little short. I don't know. I just like I always
have the jelly makes me enjoy the peanut butter, even Moore.
But something about the jell it now, my kid, my
grandkids love the uncrustables have the peanut butter and throw
them out and thaw them out. And yeah, I can never.
I can never. I don't have the patience for the
thawing out. I always bite into.

Speaker 2 (50:30):
It too quick.

Speaker 1 (50:30):
Yeah, but they love them, love them.

Speaker 2 (50:33):
The to me.

Speaker 1 (50:37):
Now, if I have toast for some reason, it's okay
just to put peanut butter on it. Oh yeah, But
if I do it a sandwich, it has to be
peanut butter and jellous.

Speaker 2 (50:46):
Toast, peanut butter and jellous Sam, how do you even
swallow on a peanut butter only sands?

Speaker 5 (50:50):
I know, it's so smacky like a dog.

Speaker 1 (50:53):
Yeah, you get your glasses, you guys, please don't google
this thing.

Speaker 2 (50:58):
That Speedy says. Look, I'm on with Wikipedia right now.
It says, look, look fluffing utter, Look the fluffing other sandwich.
But people are googling it though it's a sandwich, right,
it's a sound.

Speaker 3 (51:08):
I'm reading here that back in the dates, back like
you said, the Massachusetts back in nineteen eighteen, it was known.
Back then, it was known as the liberty sandwich. Let's
call it the Liberty sandwich.

Speaker 1 (51:20):
I'm with you on that, the Liberty sin. I like it. Well,
how do they get that out of it? Right? Fluffing
nutter makes more sense?

Speaker 2 (51:28):
Right?

Speaker 1 (51:29):
Right?

Speaker 2 (51:31):
So you got different You've got different, very variations of
the sandwich. Including the substitution of white bread. They got, uh,
do you got with you? Just a different sweet and
salty ingredients, savory ingredients?

Speaker 1 (51:46):
Great?

Speaker 2 (51:47):
The white bread on it kind of grosses mad, I'll
give you that.

Speaker 1 (51:50):
You don't like white bread?

Speaker 6 (51:51):
Did it?

Speaker 2 (51:51):
And toast?

Speaker 1 (51:52):
Do you like white bread at all?

Speaker 2 (51:53):
You don't like what? No, I'm not a huge fan
of it.

Speaker 1 (51:55):
Only with ribs. Yeah, I don't even know even don't
take it with that little square white bread. I just
don't like it, Okay, right, I'm just I'm begging people
to stop googling this.

Speaker 2 (52:06):
Well, if you google it, this is what comes up,
brit because it's a sandwich.

Speaker 1 (52:09):
Okay, don't cut it.

Speaker 2 (52:11):
Don't cut the word in half and google that.

Speaker 6 (52:13):
Please?

Speaker 1 (52:14):
No. The first I used to how we shorten everything?
People are saying, you know, the first one.

Speaker 2 (52:18):
You don't want to do that.

Speaker 1 (52:19):
Can you put the uncrustable in a toaster? Does it
get that middle part all down?

Speaker 3 (52:23):
You can't do that. You don't want jelly peanut butter
running down. That's going to cause price should stay in there?

Speaker 1 (52:28):
No, are they sealed?

Speaker 4 (52:29):
Are they sealed much?

Speaker 1 (52:31):
Okay? Yeah? Okay? What about a toaster oven would work? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (52:36):
Yeah, what about that? Are you there for our I mean,
have you tried the one with the honey in it?
But there's one with the New Tale in it. I don't,
I don't.

Speaker 1 (52:46):
I don't like those grand kids. It's for little kids.

Speaker 2 (52:52):
I got them little hands holding.

Speaker 1 (52:53):
I've had adults try to sell me on the crustables,
uncrustable whatever.

Speaker 2 (52:57):
It's called, because he raise my hand.

Speaker 1 (53:00):
I actually think the crust is the best part of
peanut peanut butter and jelly bread, hot pocket and yeah
with no crust, and you're taking my crust, which to
me is the best part of the brand.

Speaker 5 (53:10):
Also, ntella is a fake healthy food.

Speaker 2 (53:12):
It's one of those foods.

Speaker 3 (53:13):
Every Yeah, it's it's it's it's RFK the third thank you.

Speaker 2 (53:18):
Yes, I'm gonna telling you the truth. I'm outing to
tell them.

Speaker 1 (53:24):
Have you ever been around a man that peels the crust?

Speaker 2 (53:27):
Not because I would not sit by him. No, Terry said,
I went too far with my boys when they were young,
and I said a man doesn't do that. They started
to pull out.

Speaker 4 (53:35):
Yeah, you know what I would do, I would call
them a fluffer nutters.

Speaker 2 (53:38):
What I would it is you act like a fuff
and there it is.

Speaker 1 (53:47):
So we mentioned a little while ago the different updates today.
Is this Mark Sentius thing getting stranger stranger deal? I mean,
it's just weird. It is apparently Sanchez. Now are we
getting indication now I've seen the security footage where he's
kind of stumbling around. Are we getting is the image

(54:10):
now beginning to clear up that Mark Sanchez this was
a one off. He's a binge drinker, gets out, gets
a little rowdy from time to time. It got away
from him. Are we starting to hear from family and
friends that Sanchez may have a problem? I mean, what's

(54:31):
looking the story?

Speaker 2 (54:32):
So he just got in a confrontation with somebody, just
think over a parking spot or something. But he's facing
Sanchez is felony battery charges along with several misdemeanor charges.
And it looks like, according to this news source, that
the sixty nine year old truck driver that was seriously

(54:53):
injured from Mark Sanchez is suing Sanchez and his employer
Fox mm HM in an Indiana state court.

Speaker 1 (55:05):
They have filed a lawsuit.

Speaker 2 (55:06):
They did that yesterday, seeking an unspecified amount in actual
and punitive damages as well as attorney fees. It accused
Sanchez of instigating a fight with Perry Toll t o
l E Saturday night outside of Downtown hotel in Indianapolis.
It says the it's a permanent disfigurement is what is

(55:31):
called severe too loss of function UH and other injuries,
emotional stress, and so he was. He also stabbed Sanchez
several times in the fight, according to the police. So
it says here a picture of him told the truck
driver circulating online shows him in a neck brace on

(55:54):
a in a hospital bed there, covered in blood with
deep slash on the side of his face. That picture
Fox Sports has declined to comment on the lawsuit, It says.
Attorney's representing Sanchez in his criminal case also declined comment.

Speaker 1 (56:12):
So what about his injuries, Sanchez? I mean, are they
obviously threat The guy stabbed him. And now, like I said,
when the story begin has now unfolded, it was self defense.
Sanchez jumped him and was beating him up really bad. Yeah,
he looks terrible and he stuck him.

Speaker 2 (56:29):
Yeah, it says here they're we're literally talking about people fighting.

Speaker 1 (56:34):
Over a parking space. That's that's where we're mad. That's
that's that's what the story says, we got knives and blamed,
and so Sanchez got his beard made him eat it.

Speaker 2 (56:43):
So he's an angry drunk. So the truck driver Told
was backing his truck into a hotel's loading dot. Uh,
and the lawsuit UH says, and Sanchez entered the truck
without permission, then physically blocked.

Speaker 1 (57:00):
And shoved the driver.

Speaker 2 (57:02):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (57:03):
And then the guy that then hit Sanchez with some
pepper spray. And then when Sanchez kind of worked.

Speaker 2 (57:10):
Through the pepper spray, Told pulled out a knife to
defend himself.

Speaker 1 (57:14):
And then that's how everybody was getting stabbed.

Speaker 2 (57:16):
So for some reason, Sanchez didn't like him parking at
the loading dot. Apparently not Apparently there was some type
of deal out. You've heard uber driver, you've heard parking there.
I don't know, but Sanchez, you asked. He was stabbed
in the upper right Torso according to police, there you go.

Speaker 1 (57:32):
But how about it, you know? And now that I mean,
he looks like he's the one in trouble. Yeah, the
picture of that guy, he looked rough. So he went
out and was cranking up or something and got in
that dark water and got mean.

Speaker 2 (57:44):
It says here that Sanchez was getting got loaded and
it was a little drunk. According to this story, beforehand
at a Fox employer. Uh, as a Fox employee at
a Fox event.

Speaker 1 (57:55):
That's what the dad saying.

Speaker 2 (57:56):
So we'll see how that plays out. But that's the
latest one.

Speaker 1 (57:58):
Well, when you when you watched the security camera, you
see he's stumbling around going to the barking deck or
wherever he was going.

Speaker 3 (58:05):
Even after being stabbed, you know, because you know, you know,
as adrenaline was through the roof after stabbing that guy
and then also getting stabbed.

Speaker 4 (58:12):
But he's still stumbling.

Speaker 2 (58:13):
That tells you a lot, a lot of lots of status.
Is that that stumbling footage? Is that after the event or.

Speaker 1 (58:19):
That's him after he got stabbed? Him after Oh I
thought he was stumbling towards the fight.

Speaker 2 (58:23):
Yeah he was. After he got stabbed.

Speaker 4 (58:25):
He's like touching his chest stomach there.

Speaker 1 (58:29):
Here you go.

Speaker 4 (58:29):
Here it is, He's like, oh man, I just got
I just stabbed. He's all bloody.

Speaker 1 (58:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (58:37):
And and and according to this story, they're saying, if
it was true that Sanchez was as a was at
a Fox work event or whatever, and other colleagues knew
he had been drinking and he left and that's when
they're there comes but we don't know.

Speaker 1 (58:50):
That's just what this is saying. So also speaking of
getting angry, Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon, Now you remember
he had the running back that you know.

Speaker 2 (59:00):
I'm al ay, I can't is it? I don't know
he says his last name.

Speaker 7 (59:05):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (59:05):
But anyway, you memory fumbled going in then zone.

Speaker 1 (59:08):
You know he let loose the ball for you. I
don't know why these people keep doing this. How hard
is it to running the en zone with the ball?
Why would you want to drop it in? Yeah, and
you know, this is starting to happen more often. This
was usually be something that would have been unheard of,
but it happens. And of course coach Gannon got furious,
rightfully so. And and he's he got so mad and

(59:30):
so upset with the player that they find him one
hundred thousand dollars for calling it an altercation. What did
he do with the player?

Speaker 2 (59:38):
I mean he went on the sideline, he hits he
hits him in a stomach. Yeah, he was so mad.
He pulled this, he went a little here it is.

Speaker 5 (59:50):
Boy, he just hits him in the stone Wow.

Speaker 1 (59:55):
Goodness, I mean bo or chest Yeah, he shouldn't have
done it.

Speaker 2 (01:00:00):
Wouldn't have done it deliberate.

Speaker 1 (01:00:03):
I don't know. I don't know if it's one hundred
thousand dollars worth of it.

Speaker 2 (01:00:05):
No, you shouldn't have done it. Shouldn't have done it.

Speaker 1 (01:00:07):
But got mad.

Speaker 2 (01:00:09):
Don't need to physically put your hands on anybody.

Speaker 1 (01:00:11):
No, here, we're grown men. Yeah, we're grown men.

Speaker 7 (01:00:14):
I got you.

Speaker 1 (01:00:15):
So, uh, we'll be back. Truck drivers are saying, encountering
drunks by the way at the time of night, they
have to load and load out. Not surprising. Oh we
come back unscreened phone calls the second round today. We'll
chat with you America right after this. So is Zack

(01:00:39):
Brian walking back his Ice song now? Because you know
we what we heard you know is, you know, hey,
Zach Brian has written a song. He's it's anti ice
and with fading red, white and blue or something and

(01:01:01):
these colors or these colors or whatever. And then there's
been some comment from Jack Brian. How that's he's saying, Hey,
not so fast. I wouldn't trying to be negative about whatever. Yeah,
he has.

Speaker 2 (01:01:16):
The headline says he has released a statement on the song,
insisting he loves the country and trying to walk back
some things.

Speaker 1 (01:01:25):
On bad news.

Speaker 2 (01:01:26):
The song it says, he continued to say in his statement,
I served the country. I love this country, and the
song itself is about all of us coming out of
this divided space that we're in.

Speaker 1 (01:01:41):
He said. I wasn't speaking as a politician or.

Speaker 2 (01:01:43):
Some greater than thou blank hole a hole, just a
twenty nine year old man who is just as confused
as everyone else. I see how much blank this has
stirred up, and it makes me not only in faris,
but kind of scared. Left wing or right wing. We're
all one bird and American. To be clearer, I am

(01:02:07):
neither of these radical sides, he said. To all those
disappointed in me on either side or whatever you believe in,
just know I'm trying to do my best too. And
with all all things said, I love this country and.

Speaker 1 (01:02:23):
So well it's so close to Toby Keith's death too.
Toby Keith, it wouldn't like that with him Minnie patriotic
songs from Toby.

Speaker 2 (01:02:34):
N Hours later, hours later, excuse Me, he posted an
additional statement expressing heartbreak over being scrutinized for the last
few months.

Speaker 5 (01:02:44):
Toby Keith died in February twenty twenty four.

Speaker 1 (01:02:48):
Yep, yeah, I'm just saying here we are okay, yeah, okay, okay,
that's all I'm playing here, we are here, we are.
You can feel his death when this song came out,
Where was he? Where was he to stand up?

Speaker 2 (01:03:03):
He wants to know? People got to right to react to.

Speaker 1 (01:03:07):
It, right, mean, I mean he said this.

Speaker 2 (01:03:10):
This shows how divisive a narrative can be when shoved
down our throats through social media. This song is about
how much I love the country and everyone in it
more than anything.

Speaker 1 (01:03:22):
Of course.

Speaker 2 (01:03:22):
Lyrically, the song includes lyrics like my friends are all degenerates,
but they all, they're all I got the generational story
of dropping the plot. I heard the cop, the cops
name the next one I'm not gonna say, came okay,
and Ice is gonna come bust down your door.

Speaker 1 (01:03:44):
And it goes on and on. I don't know how
it's to take it, but whatever, Well, what what he
says about the cops, it is not good. And so
he called him something, Yeah he did, and it's it's
one of those rare words that just about everybody's offended.

Speaker 6 (01:04:00):
Uh uh so so.

Speaker 1 (01:04:02):
Anyway, if he if he, like Greg said, if he
wants to express himself, express on as long as he doesn't.
Somebody was asking earlier we did the thing about the
Halloween decorations about where the person had put had put
the council and the district judges, you know, that they

(01:04:23):
had been killed as part of his Halloween decorations, and
somebody asked the question First Amendment. No, no, no, you
can't threaten to kill people that We're not allowed that freedom.
Uh So, when when you're putting something out like a
threat against a political figure or a public figure as
part of your Halloween decorations, that's not First Amendment. That's
the criminal Act. And then it's it's worse than even

(01:04:49):
having your trailer and your driveway for working on it.
For hard to imagine anything worse than that. Yeah, goodness.
But but the anyway, what Zach Brian did, he wrote
him a song and he was mad, and it's out
there and people his life, his fan base, are mad
because I don't agree with him, and especially when you
go down that road, and what he's trying to say

(01:05:12):
is I love American I'm trying to point out what's
wrong with America. But you have to understand when you
go into that world of here's what I think is wrong,
then there's other people saying, well, see, I don't think
that's wrong. I'm glad we're finally dealing with illegal immigration.
I'm glad we're dealing with open borders. And there's nothing
un American about having a sovereign country and having borders

(01:05:36):
that you vet people out with because it keeps us
all safe as well. I would disagree with you. I'm
just being the opposing point of view. And when you
write these kind of songs, you're gonna either be loved
for it and celebrating and you will be, or you're
going to be vilified and argued with by people who
don't agree with you. So I would just say, suck

(01:05:56):
it up, Buttercup, Yeah, that's any song right now.

Speaker 7 (01:05:59):
You know.

Speaker 2 (01:06:00):
I brought it up with them.

Speaker 1 (01:06:02):
We missed the story, but him and another country singer
were about to get in a fight and he climbed
a fence. I saw bob wire on Tom and he
went there and got We never really even talked about it,
and I don't even know about the story.

Speaker 2 (01:06:14):
It's been a few weeks ago, so it's the old story, right,
Am I wrong about that?

Speaker 1 (01:06:17):
Adlert, do you say the same thing?

Speaker 2 (01:06:19):
Yeah, it's uh.

Speaker 3 (01:06:20):
In fact, I think it's even that guy that we
brought up a few weeks ago. Yeah, yeah, Gavin Adcock,
the guy that looks like Rick that likes parties.

Speaker 2 (01:06:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:06:32):
Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:06:33):
So here you go, Sam.

Speaker 3 (01:06:34):
Beers on one side of the fence. You have Zach
Bryan on the other side of the fence. You have
Gavin Adcock a ka Rick Burgess when he was in
his twenties. Yes, yes, yes, So there you go. That's
what And it was Zach Brian climbed. He climbed the
fence with barbed wire at the top of it. Yes.

Speaker 1 (01:06:53):
I don't know what their beef was. What was their beef?
What was the argument about? I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:06:56):
I think Gavin Adcock has he he grinds a lot
of people's gears, you know what I mean. So there's
Gavin Adcock in the vest. Zach Bryan just jumped the fence.

Speaker 4 (01:07:06):
There he is, by the way, I think that's.

Speaker 5 (01:07:07):
Barbary is just jumping over it like it's.

Speaker 4 (01:07:10):
Not barb wire.

Speaker 3 (01:07:11):
Yeah, but uh, I think security security kept them separated
and nobody actually fought.

Speaker 1 (01:07:17):
His big fella, big fella. Is he security for Zach
Brian that's a big old fella.

Speaker 4 (01:07:22):
Yeah, I think he's that. I think he's security.

Speaker 3 (01:07:24):
He may be even security for the Gavin Adcock to
get brother hey, brother back up.

Speaker 1 (01:07:30):
Yeah, and I'll be honest. Didn't look like ad Cock
wanted to get around him. Then he's not honest? Yes
with that, don't don't compare to me then no, because
I ain't know them between us airon opportunity.

Speaker 2 (01:07:42):
Anyway, I got caught up that air.

Speaker 1 (01:07:47):
That air just took us all man.

Speaker 2 (01:07:51):
You started up there.

Speaker 1 (01:07:53):
You know one the one that upsets you the most
is when everything hit seemed to calm down. I know it.

Speaker 2 (01:07:57):
That was only.

Speaker 1 (01:08:00):
Dog going and we were we had a closing plate.
It seemed like everything was fine, everybody well well, and
you know what it was. And you've been there that
that last comment that came out that started to fight,
It's like I couldn't help it. It just it just
flew out that I couldn't stop it. I even kind
of wish I could stop it because I dreaded we can't.
I dreaded what was an next you know what? But anyway,

(01:08:23):
that was just I just saw that footage and I
thought it was weird him climbing over the barbary. They
said that didn't know it was strange that actually Mark
Sanchez showed up and stabbed both of them, Mark's side
of hand. Somebody says, I'm on to what commercial? That's

(01:08:44):
when they danced around.

Speaker 6 (01:08:48):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (01:08:55):
A couple of things going on. It's almost like Chicago,
you know, which it's a great feeling if you live
in Chicago that Monday shows up and you're not dead.

Speaker 2 (01:09:05):
You know, Hey, I did it.

Speaker 1 (01:09:08):
Uh So, the National Guard has deployed twenty two hundred troops.
I'm sorry to Illinois for a federal protection mission amid
the protests that are going on there. And what's funny,
I really thought Attorney General Pam Bondi had a great
comment when she said, Okay, if y'll want to for
out how to do this, since this is working everywhere

(01:09:29):
else we're doing this, why don't you just love Chicago,
love your city as much as you hate Trump. Yeah, yeah,
get back and forth with.

Speaker 2 (01:09:40):
Just just lurting. It sounds like a pro wrestler.

Speaker 1 (01:09:47):
She said, Apparently you hate Trump more than you love
this guy, just love Chicago. How can any of the
There's so many things that are happening now that should
not be political, I know, And and one of them is, hey,
how out, let's let's see if we can take all
these criminals and all the all these different you know,
crime gangs that are they're taking over parts of our country,

(01:10:10):
and let's see if we can't make the citizens safe
again and give them their neighborhoods, give them their cities,
give it back to them. Uh, and then they can
vote forever they want to.

Speaker 2 (01:10:21):
I mean, it's who's against that?

Speaker 1 (01:10:25):
Yeah, I guess dirty day?

Speaker 6 (01:10:27):
Yeah, well this she was.

Speaker 2 (01:10:29):
He was talking to ranking member mister Dirdin. Yeah, Durbin,
I should say, yesterday and this was what happened. The
word is, and I think it's been confirmed by the
White House.

Speaker 6 (01:10:39):
They are going to transfer Texas National Guard units to
the state of Illinois.

Speaker 2 (01:10:44):
What's the rationale for that, Chairman?

Speaker 7 (01:10:46):
As you shut down the government, you voted to shut
down the government, and you're sitting here. Our law enforcement
officers aren't being paid.

Speaker 2 (01:10:53):
They're out there working to protect you.

Speaker 7 (01:10:55):
I wish you loved Chicago as much as you hate
President Trump and currently the National Art are on the
way to Chicago. If you're not going to protect your citizens,
President Trump.

Speaker 1 (01:11:05):
Will they get dirty?

Speaker 2 (01:11:08):
D was?

Speaker 1 (01:11:11):
It?

Speaker 2 (01:11:11):
Was?

Speaker 1 (01:11:11):
It?

Speaker 6 (01:11:12):
Naked gun?

Speaker 2 (01:11:12):
When he has the bullhorn and the places burning behind him,
he goes, there's nothing. That's what the left is doing
in these big major cities. There's just crap going on.
There's like, we don't need anybody.

Speaker 1 (01:11:22):
There's nothing going on here. We got this. Who are
they back, dad Bob? Remember that?

Speaker 2 (01:11:29):
Why they why they're here? What's the rationale why they coming?

Speaker 1 (01:11:32):
Why do you think you idiot?

Speaker 2 (01:11:34):
Right?

Speaker 1 (01:11:35):
Remember the bunch up north when they were saying it
was peaceful protest and stuff burning behind them, mostly piece,
mostly fiery, fiery, but mostly peaceful.

Speaker 4 (01:11:45):
That's insane. Also JB.

Speaker 3 (01:11:47):
Prick talking about how he's like, you know, they're just
rounding up people like, you know, making them. Yeah, there
may they might even be citizens. I don't know about y'all,
but I don't keep like a piece of paper in
my pocket that says I'm a citizen.

Speaker 4 (01:12:01):
You mean, like a driver's license.

Speaker 5 (01:12:03):
Really, I don't I have that with me every day
all the time, actually, unless.

Speaker 2 (01:12:08):
My wallet's in the truck.

Speaker 1 (01:12:09):
You're talking about it when they can you not tell
them you're a social security number because we all have it? Yeah, yes,
memorize it? Yeah, I know mine?

Speaker 2 (01:12:16):
Do you do?

Speaker 1 (01:12:17):
You do not? I know my driver's license number?

Speaker 2 (01:12:21):
I do?

Speaker 1 (01:12:21):
Show you what is it?

Speaker 2 (01:12:22):
I know too? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:12:23):
I five eight too.

Speaker 4 (01:12:25):
Don't say that.

Speaker 1 (01:12:26):
Great on that that's my driver's life. That's not good, buddy,
my driver's license.

Speaker 2 (01:12:32):
You may don't remember what I said? Come get it.

Speaker 4 (01:12:36):
You don't remember, great, they can revive it.

Speaker 2 (01:12:39):
What are you gonna do with it? Three things?

Speaker 1 (01:12:41):
Three things you pretend to be me?

Speaker 3 (01:12:42):
Fine?

Speaker 1 (01:12:43):
Three things I.

Speaker 2 (01:12:45):
Told my boys. You got to memorize checking account, driver's license,
and soci security number.

Speaker 1 (01:12:50):
Those three things.

Speaker 4 (01:12:51):
Wait, why do you have to no driver's license?

Speaker 1 (01:12:54):
Drivers?

Speaker 2 (01:12:54):
Just because I mean you always having to look forward
to whatever. If you have to write it down, know
that you're checking account number and that you come up
with those, memorize those three things. It'll it'll really help you.
But the tag I cannot I cannot lock in my
tag number?

Speaker 1 (01:13:08):
Is that way?

Speaker 2 (01:13:10):
That way?

Speaker 4 (01:13:10):
I feel like you should know that one versus your
driver's license.

Speaker 2 (01:13:12):
Probably you think because you your car, say that to you?

Speaker 1 (01:13:16):
Ready for this?

Speaker 2 (01:13:17):
I don't know the first letter of my tag.

Speaker 1 (01:13:19):
Now the reason why I think the tag.

Speaker 2 (01:13:21):
I've dealt with this a lot, so seven ninety sixty two.
I'm making all this is you need.

Speaker 1 (01:13:29):
This is what gets me to your point, Adler. If
I can't and I do know my driver's license number,
but if I if I can't remember it, it's pretty
easy just to get out of my wallet. When you
are filling out something, they ask your car tag, You're like, yeah,
and you got to go outside.

Speaker 2 (01:13:45):
You gotta find your car.

Speaker 1 (01:13:46):
Yeah, yeah, they got to take a picture.

Speaker 2 (01:13:48):
I really need to dial in and I can. I
just can't.

Speaker 1 (01:13:51):
Yeah, So that's a and I've had that happen to
me so many times because especially because I love to
do the air of valet at the at the airport. Yeah,
and of course you're feeling out your latest reservation, you're
kicking along, you're doing great. Else they're like.

Speaker 2 (01:14:06):
Tagging, that's that's weird. You're right, I have no idea
of my tag.

Speaker 1 (01:14:11):
Yeah, I just can't. If it was personalized, like damn,
I'm good something like that, right right, that is that
the person you want, So if you wanted to get one,
that'd be it.

Speaker 2 (01:14:26):
Okay, well, then we.

Speaker 4 (01:14:27):
Know you have to you know, short like D M, I,
M G something like that. People wouldn't even know what
you're saying. You ever see that one.

Speaker 1 (01:14:36):
I normally stay away from us, just the layers. I'm
gonna stay away from g D on there.

Speaker 6 (01:14:43):
Yeah, g U D good.

Speaker 1 (01:14:49):
Good.

Speaker 5 (01:14:50):
Y'all know that the numbers mean stuff on tags.

Speaker 2 (01:14:52):
No, I didn't know.

Speaker 5 (01:14:53):
Yeah, the first number corresponds to the county that it got.

Speaker 2 (01:14:58):
Okay, yeah, that asking, but that kind of.

Speaker 1 (01:15:01):
Went away from that now that kind of happened. Yeah,
now they're using using a lot more letters. Were eleven.

Speaker 2 (01:15:06):
You remember tag our interurn. He could the state of Alabama.
You could give him, give him the number, and he'd
know what county county was. Yeah, we don't remember that,
we do, but you're right.

Speaker 1 (01:15:14):
It looks like the county numbers are not as they've changed,
like all ours were eleven and then tell Dick County
was thirty one.

Speaker 4 (01:15:21):
Well, it's the first number, not the first letter. It's
the first numbers. What so a one would be Jefferson County.

Speaker 2 (01:15:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:15:26):
See, back in the old days, it was just the
number would be start out would be there wouldn't be
any letters, it'd just be numbers. We'd go eleven and
then we would have Yeah, that was it, but not
not anymore. Now they got a lot more letters.

Speaker 3 (01:15:38):
Jefferson's one, Mobile two and then Montgomery three goes from there.

Speaker 4 (01:15:45):
It earn somebody ever need.

Speaker 2 (01:15:46):
That's just in our state.

Speaker 1 (01:15:48):
We know our numbers.

Speaker 4 (01:15:49):
Yeah, Dang, you're good, Greg, Dang you're good.

Speaker 1 (01:15:52):
Dang, I'm good.

Speaker 2 (01:15:53):
My name's Greg.

Speaker 1 (01:15:54):
We'll be back wrapping up another hour. One more segment
left hanging there. We'll be right back.

Speaker 2 (01:16:06):
Can I ask a personal request?

Speaker 6 (01:16:09):
Here we go?

Speaker 2 (01:16:09):
Greg.

Speaker 1 (01:16:10):
This always sounds like it's directed at you and me.

Speaker 2 (01:16:12):
Well it is, and y'all, y'all told me you're going
to act right and then you don't. And I think
some of it's just just to get to me, and
I get it. Some not weak. We have a guest
coming in tomorrow towards the maybe the last part of
the show, maybe last hour. And this is client No,

(01:16:34):
it's a professional. Uh in golf in the PGA to
a professional and loves the show. Been following the Rick
and Bubby Show for the years. Loves the new show
Rick Burgess show. He's close UH to the studio because
he's uh going to the Georgia Auburn game. So he's
going to be in town the games in Auburn Saturday night.

Speaker 1 (01:16:56):
So does he played football? No?

Speaker 2 (01:17:00):
And he played golf.

Speaker 1 (01:17:01):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:17:01):
He plays golf currently uh and finished twenty first in
the tournament this past weekend. And so he's going to
be in town. He's going to be in town and
he's going to swim through. And I know it's golf
and it's the PGA Tour, and y'all, for some reason,
I find yourself looking down at that.

Speaker 1 (01:17:20):
And I don't know why.

Speaker 2 (01:17:21):
I said, with that level, it's more than a skin.
At that level, I'm talking about the best of the
best in our core. That mean, the most skilled golfers.
I agree, And I see this is what I say.

Speaker 6 (01:17:35):
I know you do this.

Speaker 1 (01:17:37):
How is that a dig?

Speaker 2 (01:17:38):
And I just want you all to play nice? Is
all I'm worried about it. Uh. And and I know
you're going to be very nice. You're gonna you're gonna
love him, uh and uh, But I just I just
don't want this weird, this weird.

Speaker 1 (01:17:51):
Probably, Yeah, give me something that we can relate to.
He went to Georgia. Man, that hurt Okay, see, I
would like to be good at golf, so even though
I know nothing about it, I really would.

Speaker 2 (01:18:02):
What are some things I can talk with him about
that aren't golf. Let's see, he's titleist sponsored. Let's go,
so I know I can. I can talk in your stuff.

Speaker 1 (01:18:12):
Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, let's see here, commercials.

Speaker 2 (01:18:16):
Yeah, and when he leaves, you can't look at him
go hit him straight?

Speaker 1 (01:18:19):
You can't. He loves watching the office.

Speaker 2 (01:18:23):
Okay, there we go.

Speaker 1 (01:18:24):
Where connect the strong in his faith and very open
about it. Okay, that's good.

Speaker 2 (01:18:29):
He listens to your weekly Bible study.

Speaker 1 (01:18:31):
Okay, we're in now.

Speaker 2 (01:18:33):
He loves sweets like uh oreo dipped in Gilk and
Reese cups that Greg.

Speaker 1 (01:18:38):
Where are you getting all this?

Speaker 2 (01:18:39):
He learned his way around the grill too, working on
his grill skills at home, but he wishes he could
do it a little bit better, and is absolutely into
fantasy football, which I know you don't like. I don't like.
He's also and this is where I can relate to him.
He's tight with his money and he's got a lot of.

Speaker 1 (01:18:55):
No wonder you made him so. But the only problem
is Ken does a one type person does the the
one type person. Now, nobody will buy lunch. So what
do y'all do? Right? I guess we flip for it.

Speaker 2 (01:19:08):
We flip for it or something. He's gonna come in
and and and I'm probably blazing. He's coming in to marrow.
So I'm gonna wake up, you think, And I just
want to do Davis Davis Thompson. And you say we
want that, right, that's really offensive?

Speaker 1 (01:19:24):
Well you won't.

Speaker 2 (01:19:26):
And so I've been texting with Davis. Uh can I
call him his first name?

Speaker 1 (01:19:30):
Since you know?

Speaker 2 (01:19:31):
Okay? And he's excited to be coming through time. I'm
excited and uh, and I hope that y'all just play
nice because I'm gonna be worried about it.

Speaker 1 (01:19:41):
If I called you incredibly skilled?

Speaker 2 (01:19:43):
Would that bother you? No?

Speaker 1 (01:19:44):
No, thank you?

Speaker 2 (01:19:45):
At the highest level he plays on the tour, guys,
it's more than a skill.

Speaker 6 (01:19:49):
Rick good?

Speaker 2 (01:19:50):
Is he handy?

Speaker 1 (01:19:52):
Probably? Or something we talk about.

Speaker 2 (01:19:54):
I mean, I think maybe you could talk to him
about spiral dogs as he's trying to.

Speaker 1 (01:19:58):
Get better on the grill. That's easy. I think I
will get him something.

Speaker 2 (01:20:01):
Hard he likes. Sweet, We're gonna talk to him. I'm
gonna talk to him about the Bible study.

Speaker 1 (01:20:05):
Uh huh. I'm gonna talk to him about grilling in
the office and the like.

Speaker 2 (01:20:10):
Yeah, that's all.

Speaker 1 (01:20:11):
And he likes off that's but surely we can get
an eye right of loves football, does he I'm gonna ask.

Speaker 2 (01:20:15):
Him, just as a joke, if he ever met Randolph Juna.

Speaker 1 (01:20:19):
See, this is what you're worried about.

Speaker 2 (01:20:21):
This is Helena Honkey's all over again. Remember he was
gonna play nice about that. Every school in the city
was tuned in. Yeah, they're all sitting on the floor.
I didn't turn out. I had to show piped in.

Speaker 1 (01:20:32):
He look, Rick had pulled down the screen.

Speaker 2 (01:20:35):
Had to had to show piped in.

Speaker 1 (01:20:37):
This one was so mad. I couldn't believe it because you'
all like, okay, yeah, good, that's the things that I
knew I didn't need to do.

Speaker 2 (01:20:45):
But I just couldn't help it. Right, It's like something
took me over.

Speaker 1 (01:20:49):
Let's see.

Speaker 2 (01:20:50):
That's the thing. Else somebody meant to you and you
told me you wish I had not.

Speaker 1 (01:20:53):
Said what I've said that time. Sometimes you can't help it.

Speaker 6 (01:20:56):
It just takes.

Speaker 1 (01:20:57):
So this is what to expect tomorrow. Yeah, it's a good,
