Now.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
If you remember back in May, all of you voted
for make mama, smile again when I see you smile,
I love you, mamma. And we had a winner, Yes
we did, and that test at number two contested number two.
And that winter will come in today. The makeover is complete, yes,
(02:31):
and we'll have a look and we'll talk to them
and see how they're doing. Doesnety in the gang will
be arriving next hour. Yeah, looking forward to it.
Speaker 6 (02:38):
This is always kind of cool because you know, you
get the story behind it. And oh yeah, Christy Ward
is who she is and her husband wrote such a
sweet little letter here as far as the story behind
it all, and so we look forward to meeting now.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
It's gonna be cool. That's always really moving. Yeah. Also,
it is official now. It's in the store there.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
It is there.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
It is the Rick Burgess Show challenge coin there, and
it's a it's a beauty. I mean, I like that.
I like the way I mean it's it's sturdy. It's
really cool. It's real because over the years when people
have given us all these challenge coins, I noticed there's
a degree on quality and some of them, frankly, are
not all that high quality. Right, But that right there,
(03:21):
that that's that's you real. Do size I like, I
love that logo and Larry, don't you worry, buddy, And
they're on the way to you if you don't already.
Speaker 7 (03:30):
Have them up.
Speaker 4 (03:32):
There.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
It is upside down.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
There, it is.
Speaker 6 (03:40):
I got five texts from Larry yesterday and the last
one said, I mailed here.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
Why did you have to say?
Speaker 7 (03:47):
Five texts?
Speaker 8 (03:48):
I did?
Speaker 2 (03:48):
I did?
Speaker 6 (03:49):
One was a picture of Carolyn uh and she was
at the Secret Service office and all been.
Speaker 7 (03:55):
George, Oh really.
Speaker 6 (03:59):
Really, he says, our mail here. I'm picturing how he
would say it. But our mail here is very slow.
It's very slow, and it will probably be here next week.
He was being sarcastic, but he says, you know, as
far as what you said, you know where, Hey, we
send it out, you should have it. He's like, we're
always a little behind, so he's looking forward to getting
(04:21):
it though.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
Yeah, that's just fired up about it. Yeah, I'm glad
because at one point I expected Larry to be more
enthusiastic than he's been about that. He just doesn't.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
He just doesn't have it.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
You know. It's rare, No, No, it's it's rare that you
are a viewer or a listener to this show that
we take a merchandise item, investing it solely really because
of you. Really, we rarely send employees to spend the
night with it. There's a lot of fur are rare.
There's a lot of fur airy rare. Not that we
(04:52):
won't do it again.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
And then send you the merchant for free. Yes that's
good to yea even that.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
Yeah, uh right, so anyway, uh that that is in
the story. So now anybody, anybody can go and get
it and uh and enjoy those. Yeah, you know, it's it,
that's cold. It's one of those things I thought about, Uh,
the challenge coin. I finally came around on that because
I do see people collect those a lot, and we're
(05:17):
collecting them here. I had a hard time with justifying
the patch. Yeah, I don't know how many people will
probably will use a pack. I think Larry will get
one and put it in the front. I'm going to get
a blue jean jacket and put a patch. That would
be awesome.
Speaker 6 (05:30):
But but but you know, they're coming back, They're making it.
Everything is so I need.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
Eighties are back. They're back and bigger than that. I
wish you, I wish you would have been me pitching
the new merch team and now forgotten again? Is it
feed the nation? It's fund the Nations, fund the Nations,
and uh, you know they do great ministry work too,
And you know it's been back and forth and they
get kind of excited, and I think they felt like
that we've had some good ideas, They've had some great ideas.
(05:58):
Then all of a sudden, I said, now I want
I want to talk at doing a challenge coin in
a patch that was a little They were like, no,
come again, uh huh can you send us some samples?
All right, guys, I'm doing this thing. When you act
like you know something, you don't want to speak of them,
you don't know because you assume everybody does. I don't
understand what challenge coin is. Okay, I'll about a commemorative coin.
(06:21):
What am I challenge I'll tell you that I have
the answer.
Speaker 5 (06:23):
I know.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
I've been playing the whole time, and I ha no
coffee and learn get a pop off the coffee off.
Also another merch item, the Rick Burgess Show coffee mug,
which I love those greg The first time I encountered it,
I can't remember exactly who was first, whether it was
law enforcement or military but I spoke at some luncheon
and a guy comes over and he shakes my hand.
(06:46):
I realize he's got something pressed in my palm, and
who knows? And I looked and I said, talk to
me about this. He said, that's a challenge coin from
our for our precinct or whatever. Yeah, And I said, okay,
We've got a lot of them over the years. Yeah,
and if you're if you're in if you're in the military,
it would be who you know, want the hunting first
or what? And so they all have yeah, yeah, right there.
Speaker 9 (07:08):
And so if you're explaining, I explaining, so if you're
part of that crew, or that make you an honorary
member of that crew by giving you the challenge coin,
it means if you're somewhere now we're Baptist, it is
probably why you don't know.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
Surprise you don't know though, okay, because let's face it,
you're you're a different wing of the Baptist church. But uh,
it's it's one that you know, still drinks natty light.
But the But anyway, the what I'm saying is if
they come up to you and they see you and
you're part of that group, and they say, take their
challenge coin and they put it down on the table
(07:43):
on the bar, and you don't have yours in your pocket,
you have to buy them a drink. It's a challenge.
It's a challenge, Gus. That's what it came from. That's
what it came from.
Speaker 7 (07:51):
So so we have a drinking coin.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
We do. So somebody throws ours out, nobody answers it.
But in our case, somebody throws it down. I'm any
somebody throws the rick Burgess showing down. If you don't
have it, you have to bottom corn berate.
Speaker 6 (08:04):
Right, Oh yeah, that or go get a cup of
coffee for it. But that's you can do your own challenge.
But that's how it works. And most of them have
it your wallet. Yeah, and they keep what I'm saying,
as many as we have, we'd have to have a path.
Speaker 3 (08:18):
Yeah, they keep yeah, in your wallet.
Speaker 6 (08:20):
And then because of that, I've seen it. I've seen
him pull it out there. I guess maybe it's front pocket.
Speaker 4 (08:27):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
Anything about a little thick you're learning today.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
The bottom line is this, Greg, it's a bit more
to it. How about this. It's an honor and what
it does it kind of means I'm in this group,
so now to have a Rick Burgess shop or not.
I just gave you a coin, but are you really
in the group. Well, your honorary, I said, honorary. You
don't understand they're just being honorary and actual, you know,
like you. I got the difference. Greg, I got news
for you. Bill Bubba Bussy has an honorary master's degree.
(08:53):
He is a doctorate. Yeah okay, but but he didn't
really get it. Scott Dawson has one. You know what
I mean? It means you were You're being honored by that.
So once you.
Speaker 3 (09:02):
An honorary firefighter one day he was firefighter, like for
a day a coin?
Speaker 2 (09:08):
Yeah no, I just got a plaque. Oh yeah yeah.
But fire departments have coins. Yeah, so what this is?
And now people become collecting them kind of like Larry
does patches. Meaning now I'm nervous. I don't want somebody
to throw coin it.
Speaker 7 (09:20):
Well, I'm not carrying around coins.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
I like that display.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
I said that out loud. I'm sorry, display we have.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
It's true. They were honoring it by putting it on display,
and now people do display them. Say, look at all
the different groups that I've collected and so now including
Larry So, a Rick Burgess Show challenge coin means I'm
in the loop, I'm part I listened to the Rick
Burgers Show. The look I can produce my challenge coin.
(09:48):
You could. You could walk up to a person and say,
if oh, you're Rick Burgess Show challenge going down, say
you listen to the show. And if they say yeah,
they go, where's your challenge going? And where's your challenge going?
Speaker 4 (09:58):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (09:58):
And you can make people honory list this even though
we need real ones right right, but still I listeners
not actually now when you're pitching an average, actual breathing listener, Greg,
when you pitch an advertise, they go, how many listeners
do you have? Honorary or real one?
Speaker 7 (10:13):
We're talking.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
I'm gonna use mine as a ballmark playing golf.
Speaker 10 (10:18):
On the green.
Speaker 4 (10:19):
You can do that.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
It's a little heavy, but I got's a little big
you're talking about.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
You're gonna be problem that got some smaller one they
did not.
Speaker 6 (10:27):
We don't through great now say it's all about the
rich Burgers Show.
Speaker 3 (10:31):
You can play along.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
You're gonna learn today. Today is a learning day. Change out, buddy,
You don't have to make fun of everything. You have
a challenge, Greg, meet me at the face. I've had
enough of this.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the man who removed
the phrase what's your new good?
Speaker 2 (11:03):
From Society? RICKOCHI all right, so make Mama smile again.
The winner coming up next hour, Vox seats coming up
later in the program today, and we'll have another Burgess
Ball battle today, hopefully not as awkward as Fridays, So
that coming up. Also, those of you that are looking
(11:25):
to get your challenge coin and or patch new item
in the merch you know, if you if you're a Texter,
just text the word store and that link will come
right up eight eight eight six two four four eight
six nine or eight eight eight six Big Vox, either
one of those works, or just go to rickburgesshow dot
com and click on shop. Uh. You know, I don't
(11:47):
want to go Debbie Downer, but let's let's admit what
in the world's going on with Costa Rica. I mean,
I'm I'm afraid to go to Costa Rica. I mean,
we we how many more people we got to know
that something bad happens to them in Costa Rica? I
mean it's you know, we had to deal with you
know Gene Hallman, you know, with the with the bizarre disease.
It nearly took him out. He got in the water
(12:08):
at Costa Rica.
Speaker 4 (12:09):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
You know, I had somebody else that got some sort
of sickness in Costa Rica and watch the water. And
now Costa Rica has killed THEO from the Cosby Show. Yeah,
swim was yeah, current got him. Malcolm Jamal Warner dead
at fifty four. Just fifty four, man, fifty four. So
(12:30):
swimming on Sunday afternoon, and that's the one you hear
where everybody goes. I can't pronounce all of it there
in Costa Rica. Uh and uh on vacation with his family.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
By h cole Cliss in Lemon.
Speaker 2 (12:46):
It's so they said that, Yeah, you said, Greg, he
just he was out there swimming and got called in
I guess what we would call down the Gulf America,
like the undertow. But a current, yeah, got him and
pulled him out into the deeper water. And unfortunately and
that and people did get to him, but by the
time they got him up on the beach, it was
too late. So wow, that's horrible. Yeah it is, and
(13:11):
so it you know, it was I hate all you know,
I just can't stand how the legacy was tarnished by
the way Bill Cosby's life is ending versus you know,
there was a time. I mean, that show did so
many good things. It was so entertaining, it was so
well done. I really did love Bill Cosby. And then
(13:31):
you find out all the horrible stuff about Bill Cosby,
and that just that was hard. And now here's here's
the actor that played the Sun and they had so
many great scenes together and and funny guy and now
he's a But this costa Rica thing. It just id
I mean, vacation shouldn't be that dangerous. It shouldn't, you know, shouldn't.
Speaker 6 (13:51):
And you wonder because there's not enough details about you know,
where their flags out, where they're not. It was just
a just a bad situation where he's just in the
wrong spot and something happened and he pulled him out.
I don't know, there's there's not a whole lot of
details except just that that's what happened.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
Well, it was one of those things yesterday too, where
you know you're not in the loop and all of
a sudden you're sitting there and like things start coming
up on your phone and yeah, you see people talking
about and I kept noticing they were all these I thought,
what sure is odd that people are sending so many
moments from the Cosby Show involving the character THEO and
(14:28):
the actor, you know, Malcolm Jamal Warner. And I was
and I never I didn't even pick up on the trend.
I was kind of like, wonder why all this is
coming up? And then all of a sudden I saw
something somebody when somebody had a comment of one over them,
I'm sobbing, and I thought, uh, yeah, and something's happened,
And uh, it's weird how you get information now, you know,
you know there was a time where you waited til
(14:49):
the news came on and it would be like the
breaking story. Now you find out in weird ways. It
was almost like it was here comes this. Why was
every by showing all these highlights from Yeah? And then
all of a sudden, You're like, well, what's up with this?
Is something going on? Is at the anniversary of the
Cosby Show? You know, you're allowed to celebrate the Cosby
Show anymore? After the Bill Cosby stuff. And I mean
(15:10):
it took me a while. I mean I sat and
I even watched a clip and thought made you know
why it was nobody had a comment on it, okay,
And then all of a sudden I saw sobbing, can't
believe it, and I started saying that, and I went, oh,
something's going on. And then of course, then what do
you next. You don't go to the news. I just
simply googled his name and it is yeah, and I
(15:30):
saw that it said two hours ago. So I thought, okay,
so this didn't happen. I'd forgotten about it, you know, yeah,
let's face it, that's happened. Yeah, And so so there.
Speaker 6 (15:38):
You go, and said, I got a notification that popped up,
and it was just some news outlets that you know
will break. So when I saw it, it actually said
what happened. I didn't get thrown off like you Yeah,
it's just it's sad.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
That's fifty four with his family there. That's awful. So absolutely.
Also in entertainment news, you know this this aftermath of
Colbert's show being canceled, and now you know, people are
coming out this is the thing too, you know where
I mean, I've seen people saying that, you know, CBS
claiming it was losing money. I saw Conan O'Brien waighing
(16:14):
on that, going that's that just seems impossible that it
would be losing forty million dollars. But I wanted to
I wasn't doing the interview. I just saw again the clip.
I wanted to say, well, Conan, have you seen that
they had one hundred and thirty million dollar budget, two
hundred employees, and we're paying Colbert fifteen million dollars a year.
I can see how that would happen. I mean, that's
(16:37):
that's a hey, that's some overhead right there. Yeah, and
I know that those shows made a lot of money
in the past. But like I said before, one of
the things that I think you we're we're learning it
even in our line of work, is it's a different
game now, completely different game. The way you went about
creating revenue and the way that you survived in the past,
(16:59):
that formula is old and antiquated. You got to it's
a different game now, and really some of it can
be complex, but some of it is no more complicated
than as we said the day that we talked about
it being canceled. But it's worth repeating. People have so
many more options now. You just can't grab as much
(17:21):
of their time as you once did, and people won't
tolerate long form anything anymore hardly, So you're just having
to adjust to the times, and you know you don't.
Sometimes you ended up getting audience because people just didn't
have that many choices. And here's the thing that really
bother you. You can do a really good job and have
(17:43):
people who like what you do, but because people are
so distracted in the days we live in, you do
one thing they don't like, or do something a little
slower than they won't, or go to a commercial break
they don't like, and then they go away, start flipping
on their phone through Instagram, X TikTok whatever. And then
(18:03):
and they didn't leave you because they don't like what
you're doing. They left you because they were distracted and
they realized a half hour is going buy and they
hadn't come back. So it's you got a it's a
different game now. Well, I look down every time we
have a video, I look down. Now if I see
it's more than a minute, I'm not even gonna go
to it, right because y'all not gonna listen to it, right,
he had there's really no need for y'all even give
(18:25):
me videos that are over a minute.
Speaker 3 (18:26):
And he's losing he's losing his audience, they were losing money.
Speaker 7 (18:30):
And then there's the rumors that.
Speaker 3 (18:31):
Be he The Colbert also criticized air Amount for paying
Donald Trump sixteen million dollars because it to settle that suit. Yeah,
so there's throw that in there.
Speaker 2 (18:41):
Yeah, and the fact that he went you know political.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 2 (18:48):
So we're living at a time with truth is treated
like hate.
Speaker 4 (18:51):
Lies.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
Here they are they're being just paraded as compassion. The
media loves the word tolerance, but we know better. They're
most some of the most intolerant people we know well.
Blaze TV, we don't play along with all this. It's
it's like that we tell you here. You know, we're
coming to you from the real This the real world.
We tell the truth, even when it's hard, even when
(19:13):
it's unpopular, because truth is too important to stay silent.
So all across the Blaze Network, including this show, you know,
we're going to go deeper than just the headlines. We're
not just going to react to the news. We're going
to try to, you know, explain drive what's driving this.
You're not going to hear from the corporate media, you know,
they're always pushing some sort of agenda or trying to
(19:36):
indoctor Natus into something. So Blaze TV is here to
push back with clarity and conviction. This isn't just content,
it's a calling. And when you subscribe to Blaze TV,
you're not just supporting conservative voices, you're joining a movement
that refuses to bow to the cultural chaos. It's only
eight dollars a month when used the promo code Rick.
(19:57):
That's twenty dollars off an annual plan, only twenty six
cents a day. To support voices that will not back down.
Go to BlazeTV dot com slash rick and join today
the truth matters, and they're doing everything they can out
there to silence us, the.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
Hardest working men in the business. The Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 4 (20:33):
Right here we go.
Speaker 2 (20:35):
You gotta hustle us out, you gotta be a pro,
you gotta be ready. Thank you for being with us
again today America. Whether you've got us live or archive,
we thank you for that. So one of the things
that you guys mentioned going into we got inside the
break and start talking about it on this Stephen Colbert
thing uh and in the business.
Speaker 3 (20:58):
Uh So if he's saying.
Speaker 2 (21:00):
Now that Paramounts, you know, is going to give him
ten months, he's supposed to be done in May of
twenty twenty six. Correct, Yeah, yeah, yes, Well, And I
don't know how TV works as much broadcast TV, but
I know in our business normally, you know, obviously we
were given you know, a year to wind down the
(21:22):
Rick and Bubby show and do That's that's kind of
abnormal too. Of course, you know, when something is has
been ended and people are not going to go forward
and they don't want to continue with you. Usually in
our business, you're paid what you're owed, but you don't
go back on the air. No, And so I'm a
little bit surprised that they're letting Cobert know it's over
(21:46):
and then put him back on the Air's that's odd.
So this thing where he's going to go on the
air and now trash Paramount and taking the gloves off Paramount,
I don't think that they're they're under no ab begins
to honor that. Now they can pay him what he's old,
but they don't have to let him on the air. Yeah,
it's gonna be kind of alared playout. They'll pay him
(22:08):
till till May. But just because they agree to pay
you and finish at your contract. I don't know how
his is, but I know in our world, the people
who are paying you, they do not have to let
you be on the air as long as they're paying you. Now,
you know, if they if they take you off there
and then don't pay you, then they're in violation of
(22:30):
the contract. But if they're paying you and they're going
to fulfill the contract, they don't have to allow you
on the air for obvious. I mean that gives improtection.
You know, they don't want to put some out on there.
It's just gonna trash them for ten months.
Speaker 8 (22:43):
Now.
Speaker 3 (22:43):
Well, it's funny you say that. So Colbert just last
night had a fan cam going on, kind of a
play off of the whole Coldplay concert thing. He goes
to a couple of different celebrities and Adam Sandler what's
his name, the villain, the villain from Shooter McGavin is
sitting right next to him in the audience. Then he
(23:04):
had John you had John Stewart and Johniel, Miranda Lynn,
Manuel a Man, Yeah, yeah, Hamilton, the Hamilton guys weird out.
So all these celebrities, and they're showing all these celebrities
on the fan cam.
Speaker 7 (23:17):
And then they show and I'm showing it to you guys.
Speaker 3 (23:20):
Behind the on the screen there. Uh, you'll see it's
actually the coldplay cam, but it's Trump and Trump cartoon.
Trump is hugging a Paramount logo to say, oh, look
there's Trump and and Paramount. They're being seen together in
public and they shouldn't be. And so Trump and and
the Paramount logo like freak out and like kind of hide,
(23:43):
just like the couple. The couple did in their full
play video. So Colbert is already taking very obvious shots
at Paramount. Yeah, and this time.
Speaker 6 (23:52):
Period, and he was responding Trump couldn't he took the
true social On Friday, he said, I absolutely love the
Colbert got fired.
Speaker 2 (24:00):
Of course he does.
Speaker 6 (24:01):
His talent was even less than his ratings, and so
he responded and Cobert told him to go blank himself
last night and all this so it's going to be
interesting to see how this plays out. And to your point, Rick,
his exact quote was a sarcastic comment towards Paramount. He said,
they made one mistake. They left me alive for the
next ten months the gloves are off.
Speaker 2 (24:23):
Well, see, I just don't see where Paramount unless they're
in on it, and it's all just some publically stunt
to you know, to help help help everybody, help everybody win,
because it doesn't make any sense that if I if
I and I'm not looking to trust me. We've all
had our run ins with broadcast companies and they can
(24:43):
be very undesirable people and sometimes they can be you know,
wonderful people and sometimes it's just kind of, you know,
somewhere in between. But I do acknowledge that, you know,
if I'm Paramount and I've been paying you fifteen million
dollars a year and I've given you two hundred employees
and one hundred and thirty million dollars budget, it's gonna
be real hard to make me out to be a
(25:04):
horrible person. Yeah, okay, so you know you we we've
we've paid you pretty well and uh and you've and
you know we we it's a it's a win win,
it all works together. But I don't see them if
it's truly we're going, I'm gonna destroy you and I'm
gonna get on the air and rip you. And it's
(25:25):
not some sort of we're in all, we're in on
this altogether. I just don't see Paramount allowing him to
do that. Now they're gonna pay him again, That's I'm
not I'm not saying he can't, he's not gonna get paid.
I'm just saying they don't have to let him on
the air.
Speaker 6 (25:38):
Yeah, you know, uh and uh. He's what I don't
get here is so he's they show him hugging Paramount,
But isn't the reason they're there that he got a
settlement from Paramount and CBS is they went on and
edited video.
Speaker 2 (25:55):
They're in a campaign to make Kamala look better.
Speaker 6 (25:57):
Okay, So so y'all made the mess, Trump didn't create it.
Speaker 2 (26:02):
Yeah, but that I mean, But what I'm trying to
say is they're trying to say that he pressured that
Trump pressured Paramount to get rid of Colbert.
Speaker 7 (26:10):
They are trying to say that, ye, yeah, because they
got to play the victim.
Speaker 3 (26:13):
But is that not what joke was?
Speaker 6 (26:15):
Yeah, no, it was, but it was also tied into
the fact that he got a huge settlement.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
He got a youge settlement out of it. He's trying
to suggest that Paramount is in bed with Trump.
Speaker 3 (26:24):
Yeah, and it's not because of my poor ratings. It's
not because I'm losing money. It's because of Trump. Yeah,
it's it's it's just a joke, you know.
Speaker 6 (26:33):
Right, classic left move. Everything goes back to Trump somehow
all my problems.
Speaker 2 (26:39):
Well, but it also goes back to the victimhood. It's
not possible that maybe the format of the kind of
show I'm doing, or the fact that I went all
political and you know, the larger audience that really did
wanted to hear me make fun of all politicians the
way the late shows used to be. I'm now only
making fun of one party. And like we said yesterday,
(26:59):
the thing he did on the vaccine when he started
all that stuff, you know, he will never admit that
that cost him audience. Now, you know, it's always I'm
a victim of some sort. I played no role in
damaging my own show, right, you know it was I
was doing a great job and everybody's just being unfair
(27:22):
to me. You know, he won't look in the mirror
and say that he had any part now and that
maybe he made some decisions that were not wise on
the formatting of the show.
Speaker 6 (27:32):
So but now you've got all your your other liberal
talk show hosts, the John Stewarts and Jimmies of the world.
They're all coming to his defense.
Speaker 2 (27:40):
You know, Well that would see that to me if
I was you know, if I was a critic of
the way the late shows have gone to the political left,
I would go, well, of course they're all gathering together,
they're all doing the same thing. And how about this.
It's a group of people who are all doing the
wrong thing because it's gonna cost them all eventually. I mean,
(28:01):
but it didn't even I mean, and we've been, you know,
in some of the latter days of the Rick and
Bubba guilty of it a little bit. If you go
all into political you're you're just saying, I'm willing to
divide my audience up. And there's certain people that I
don't desire to do what I'm you can do a
(28:21):
little bit of it. Like there's people that know that
we're conservative and they tolerate it because we give them
enough of the other. But if we turned into another
Fox News Clay and Buck Sean Hannity, you know, Glenn
all all good people and people that we agree with
most of the time. But that means that we're saying
(28:43):
to a portion of the audience that doesn't want to
hear that, we don't want you around. But I don't
want to play that. I want I want to have
the biggest audience we possibly have, not not compromising what
we believe, but also not them tuning in every day
and I take a sledgehammer and beat them over the
head with it every day, you know, And so you
can you know, we we all enjoy entertainment from leftists
(29:06):
as long as they just don't overdo it, right. We've
all talked about that. Oh yeah, I mean we do,
and that's fine. Look, we're not gonna agree with everybody
on every subject. We we've sung songs from people that
we completely oppose politically and even morally. Yeah, you know,
we're using laptops and phones right now. But but there's
a line, But there's but there's a line that we have.
(29:27):
You know, you can you can browbeat us to to
the point that I go, I just don't do that anything. Yeah,
And I think late night TV has gotten to that point.
There's they're losing audience because they're they're not making fun
of the political and there's much to make fun of
on both sides. On both sides.
Speaker 4 (29:46):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
And what they're they're they're trying to indoctrinate you into something.
And as I said the other day, and you know,
I will say this that I have been guilty of
this before, and it's something that I've tried to do better.
Is not just disagree with you, but make you feel
stupid if you don't agree with me. You know, I'm
gonna I'm gonna say you're dumb and you're stupid and uh.
(30:07):
And we have done that, and I have done that.
But I can understand how if I if I go
that rapture like, wow, we're not just disagreeing anymore. You're
disparaging me now, you know, because I don't agree with you. Uh,
And so I can understand how that would run you off. Yeah,
I acknowledge that, right.
Speaker 3 (30:23):
And Colbert was losing to uh Gutfeld on Fox News.
Speaker 2 (30:27):
Oh yeah, yeah, we would, ye.
Speaker 3 (30:32):
So we'll see around around two and a half million
for Colbert and about three point three million for Gutfeld
in mind Fox.
Speaker 2 (30:41):
Yeah. And if if you think that Kimmel and all
that bunch and Colbert are gonna learn a lesson from this,
bless your heart.
Speaker 1 (30:50):
Yeah, this is the Rick Burgess Show. Warning, in order
to truly benefit from this show, you must have a
sense of humor. So like enough Fraccis and enjoy the
Rick Burgis Show.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
Yep. And that's the other part of it. We can't
also lose our sense of humor. You know, it's all
a balance. Wey, I'd also be able to understand tongue
in cheek humor, not take ourselves too serious. We've got
to have that attitude as well as we work our
way through all these things. So we're glad you're here,
and there's a lot to do before the show is done.
(31:32):
Even today, make Mama smile again. The winners coming in
next hour, we'll see the makeoverer. So those of you
that made that happen and voted for Contestant two, be
ready for that coming up next hour as Dudney and
the team roll in for that wonderful celebration. Vox seats
coming up later Burgess Ball Battle as well. Also over
(31:56):
the weekend, two new episodes came out on our podcast,
Strange Encounters. One new episode came out, so if you
haven't got episode eight, grabbed that. And then of course
Ricking Bubba's Greatest Hits in Radio Gold. Episode twenty seven
came out over the weekend, enjoying those three decades as well. So, though,
(32:17):
if you're not following those podcasts due be sure you're
also following The Burgess Show podcast, which gives you a
daily full archive of the show and a best of
hour Now Dion Sanders not ready for prime time? Yeah,
what's going on? What's going on with Prime? What's going
on with Prime? Still not back? Still at home? Mysterious illness?
(32:41):
Oh really, No one seems to know really what's wrong
with him. He's not really telling us. Says that he's
not all the way recovered a mysterious illness that has
left him sideline for the past months. Has not been
with the team Boulder. Uh, you know, I'm still going
(33:03):
through something, is all that he told uh his daughter Uh.
In the video posted Sunday, uh So says I'm getting
better though, right like he's asking his daughter if he's
getting better? Weird?
Speaker 6 (33:20):
Does this have to do with the blood flow in
his in his leg and he has face, he has
face blood clot issues related his legs and feet.
Speaker 3 (33:30):
He's got face, blood clot face.
Speaker 2 (33:31):
Nobody says face. Who said face? See?
Speaker 6 (33:34):
I said said he's faced Okay, blood clot issues related
to his legs.
Speaker 2 (33:40):
He faced them face blood. Nobody said he has blood
clots in his face kind of came out that way. No,
it didn't. It's a well known turn to a pause.
You have to face something.
Speaker 7 (33:51):
You didn't take a pause.
Speaker 2 (33:53):
That's what it is difficult, everybody what you said he
had face. Look, look, look, we're gonna get heard of that.
They're gonna get here and get something.
Speaker 3 (34:03):
Play it back.
Speaker 2 (34:04):
I'm a play back worried about so much. Play it
back for you. Okay, but anyway, so all.
Speaker 3 (34:08):
Right, I'm googling what happened to Dion Sanders face.
Speaker 2 (34:11):
There's nothing wrong with his face?
Speaker 6 (34:13):
Oh yeah, I you know, I know he's he's uh
face issues on the on Coach Prime. Uh with what
Amazon Prime put that out. You see a lot of
his struggles, and now that's been well known, but you
see behind the scenes, the struggles and the daily stuff
he goes along with his foot on Amazon Prime.
Speaker 3 (34:32):
Yeah yeah, it was Prime on Prime.
Speaker 7 (34:34):
Yeah, it was I'm really good crime on Prime Crime.
Speaker 2 (34:37):
So he did. He did appear at Big twelve Media
Days earlier in the month. He declined to elaborate on
his health. I'm really not gonna tell you much. You
know that. The reporters laugh. I'm not. I'm not. I'm
not here to talk about my health. I'm here to
talk about my team. Uh, he said. What I'm dealing
(34:58):
with right now? Is that a whole No, the level
he told a Sante Samuel on his podcast former NFL
cornerback Or is he or is he YEA so says
he and then another one he gets on a podcaster
with Philip Dukes last week, says, we headed back to
Colorado next week. It's a blessing. It's been a long
(35:18):
journey along road, and soon everybody will know the reason
I haven't left this house this summer. Everyone will know
in the next few weeks or so. And then he
was recovering from the NFL draft rag. Some people say, yeah,
he's got a that's last time we saw my son
left him.
Speaker 3 (35:37):
I don't know how I leave, he tweeted yesterday. Remember
when our word was one hundred. Remember when we were
taught if you don't work, you don't eat. Remember when
we knew right from wrong and wasn't willing to risk
being on.
Speaker 7 (35:54):
The wrong side.
Speaker 2 (35:55):
I love how you're reading it.
Speaker 3 (35:56):
Remember when the neighborhood protected and corrected?
Speaker 7 (36:00):
You remember hashtag coas?
Speaker 2 (36:03):
Is that you as?
Speaker 4 (36:05):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (36:06):
They did say on every one of these appearances, including
Big twelve media Day, for some bizarre reason, wearing a mask,
I'm just kidding. Nothing wrong with his face? No, No, well, okay,
I just didn't know.
Speaker 3 (36:17):
Okay, there's nothing wrong.
Speaker 2 (36:20):
There's nothing.
Speaker 3 (36:20):
Okay, we've seen his toes before. It's rough, it's very rough. Yeah,
it dealing with a lot. He's got some I mean
two toes at least amputated, maybe more at this point.
Speaker 2 (36:32):
Right, But do y'all think that's what this is about.
This sounds a little more serious than that.
Speaker 7 (36:37):
Well, I mean, you're losing toes. That's not good.
Speaker 3 (36:40):
No, he's not.
Speaker 6 (36:41):
He's at what point do you go, Okay, just take it,
you know, I know, just give me a blade, you know, well,
because it takes well. Because he's has so many issues
with his foot and and the blood clots in his
leg and that that's been a concern and he's dealt
with it. I wonder if he's if doctors have said it,
(37:01):
you know, we can resolve all this if we take
But no, where you got him gonna his legs off,
that he almost lost his legs what years ago.
Speaker 3 (37:09):
When when you look at his toes missing guys, at
some point they're going to take the whole, the whole,
every toe, he's gotten half the foot. I'm just telling you.
Speaker 6 (37:23):
Blade big Yeah, well, I'm just saying I wonder if
that I know he's tried to keep it and this
is serious. I mean he's if you watched already, I
know for apparently from you, right, Yeah, if you watch
Coach Prime, he's really this is a he deals a lot.
Speaker 2 (37:38):
He's a lot of pain. Even when he walks.
Speaker 3 (37:40):
It's big to go pink happened? What caused all blood clots?
Speaker 2 (37:47):
Blood clots? Just just blood clots.
Speaker 3 (37:50):
Yeah, some people say it's the COVID jab. I'm not
saying that's what it is.
Speaker 2 (37:52):
No, it was before then, I think, yeah, I think
it's after that. There you go the way every element
even though I was such respect of the shot, and
they did lie about the shot, and we now know
they lied a lot about the shot. It didn't do
what they said it would do all that, but we
cannot blame everything on the shot. I noticed we do.
We're starting to do that now now there's no doubt.
Speaker 3 (38:12):
I think it's because that's why I'm short.
Speaker 2 (38:14):
All right.
Speaker 6 (38:15):
So he's had poor he's had poor circulation and blood
clots in his left leg. He's he's had multiple surgeries.
Speaker 2 (38:22):
He's had what I think two toes removed.
Speaker 3 (38:28):
I believe, Yeah, his big toes amputation.
Speaker 6 (38:30):
He's had two toes wanted the big toe.
Speaker 7 (38:34):
He has also come home.
Speaker 6 (38:38):
He's also the risk of amputation, possibly losing his entire foot.
Speaker 11 (38:43):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (38:44):
The ongoing pain and circulation issues have escalated and he's
constantly dealing with that. So that's why I was saying.
You know, even going back to twenty twenty three, almost
a year ago, there's a story from NBC that says
Dion Sanders at risk of losing left foot to amputation.
You said leg Yeah, why you know, I didn't know
(39:04):
what do they go up? You know, I've got the
right like below the need we're talking about a blade.
Speaker 3 (39:12):
Yeah, thank you.
Speaker 2 (39:13):
Look if if his health will be better with the blade,
he's fine with the blade. You know me, I've almost
been willing to trade my bad foot in for a blade.
Speaker 3 (39:19):
You need a blade, frankly, yeah, that show.
Speaker 2 (39:21):
So, But why is he being so secret. I don't
understand being so secret? Why why can't we Why do
you care if everybody knows this?
Speaker 3 (39:27):
It's very secretive about his web toast. So maybe Deon
Sanders secretive about his cho that's true.
Speaker 2 (39:34):
I don't understand all the secrecy.
Speaker 4 (39:37):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (39:37):
People just don't like to talk about their health issues.
It's like they Well, if I'm if I'm thinking about
coming to Colorado though in the mystery worse than me
knowing the truth? Yeah? Can't that hurt recruiting?
Speaker 7 (39:49):
Plus his face is on that?
Speaker 2 (39:51):
Yeah, that's what about that? Top of the hour.
Speaker 1 (39:53):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 12 (40:04):
Thank god, John, It's time for the Rick Persons City
Broadcasting from the real world.
Speaker 3 (40:22):
Let's go America Buffalo, a brand new hour. Thanks for
being with us.
Speaker 2 (40:28):
Much to do going forward on the program Today we'll
get the box seats coming up a little bit later
on another Burgess ball battle coming up.
Speaker 3 (40:37):
We'll go on stream phone calls.
Speaker 2 (40:40):
Hay Birge, Hay Burge and the stories of the day.
Speaker 3 (40:46):
Always keeping it real.
Speaker 12 (40:48):
Broadcasting from the real world.
Speaker 2 (40:50):
So it is so much fun. We get to meet
all of you out there, especially in the day. We
get to celebrate somebody getting another makeup over from Doctor Dudney.
Make mam a smile again, Doctor Dudney. Welcome back to
the show. How about how are we doing? Great? Right?
Great to be back. It's good. Good to talk to you. Christy. Hello,
Christy one there. So Team Dudney is here. So just
(41:16):
I mean, I know this is a dumb question, but
I'm just gonna set you up. This never gets old, doesn't. No,
it doesn't, It really doesn't. Ye, talk talk talk about
how we're going to talk to Christy, the other Christie,
the winning Christy uh and winning that Christian over there.
She's undefeated. There's not a day she doesn't win. Yeah,
(41:36):
So I want you to talk about what it's like
for y'all though, you and Christie and the team. Uh,
just what what it does for you to watch this?
Speaker 13 (41:44):
Well, first off, you know, to do something like this
is a rewarding experience. Okay, So for us, it gives
us a sense of pride in being able to do
something like this. You know, we're we're blessed that we
have this ability. We enjoy it. For one thing. People
you know, it's kind of funny because people said, when
(42:05):
are you going to retire, And I said, are you
asking me because you think I should or you're hoping
I don't, right, you know, but it's one reason why
I still enjoy what I do so much, because we
get to do these types of procedures. So for us,
it's it's rewarding, it's fun. We feel like you're giving
something back that's worthwhile, you know. It's it's great to
(42:28):
have that, you know, sense that you help somebody in
some way. And we've had pretty dramatic things. We've had
people look in the mirror and start crying. We've had people,
you know, get moved to tears, and it's a it's
an emotional thing. We've had people say this changed my life.
I'm not I'm not going to sit here and tell you,
you know, we're doing life changing work. But when you
(42:49):
have somebody say that, that's a powerful emotion. Uh So,
we have people said I've never smiled in my life,
you know, and that's.
Speaker 2 (42:56):
Kind of sad, they said.
Speaker 13 (42:58):
People say, well, you know, people think I wasn't happy,
people think I was upset all the time, and it
wasn't that. It's just that I hated a smile because
I was embarrassed about my teeth. So when you are
able to let people feel good about themselves and feel
good about smiling, that's that's a great thing.
Speaker 2 (43:13):
So Christian, I know, you get to meet them, they
come in, you get to get attached to these families.
What is that like?
Speaker 14 (43:19):
It is it's a great experience. And especially it's like
emotional like which I'm a cry baby right now, So
it is. It's a hard thing to read the letters.
I mean, I get where I can't read them because
there's so emotional. You know, it's just and I'm like, here,
(43:41):
doctor Denny, you take over that. But it is it's
like doctor Denny said, it's a blessing that we can
do this and to get to experience. I've been working
with doctor Denny forty years.
Speaker 2 (43:52):
Forty years. Yeah, and so seing.
Speaker 14 (43:55):
Dudney to do this is truly a blessing.
Speaker 2 (43:58):
Well, you take care of our family, les, you're also
good to us too. But this is a bit dramatic,
but I bet it does feel this way. I was talking.
We were interviewing John Morgan who's a comedian and he
adopted a little girl from China, and he said the
biggest struggle was leaving and realizing though life had been
(44:20):
changed for this little girl. I want to take all
of them, and of course that's not possible. Do you
find yourself if twenty of.
Speaker 13 (44:30):
Them listen, I read every letter. We say this every year,
and I do. I read every letter, and somehow I'm going,
oh God, and then I'll say, Okay, I like this
and I like this, and they just get to the
point I take them home. I said, honey, to my wife,
I said, you've got to read these letters. You got
to help me here. So we're I'm trying to get
help because there you want them all to win. So
(44:51):
when you made that comment, I know exactly what you do.
Want to take them all. You don't want to leave
anybody behind. And I wish they could all win.
Speaker 2 (44:58):
I really do.
Speaker 13 (44:59):
Honestly, I like doing it that much, but you know,
we have to get a winner, and I'm always happy
for the person who wins. And Christie is Oh my gosh,
she was great, great patient, so friendly, comes in and
you know immediately we felt comfortable around her.
Speaker 2 (45:15):
Yeah, we met our Winter contested number two. Another Christie.
This is Christie Ward and and boy, she came in
this morning. And Dudney, you and and and Christie both
have already seen it. It's our first time. And I
mean she couldn't stop smiling. Christy, you've been just screening
from ear to ear.
Speaker 4 (45:34):
I have.
Speaker 15 (45:35):
I've not stopped smiling since.
Speaker 2 (45:37):
And so talk about that. How does that feel?
Speaker 15 (45:39):
It's amazing what once I saw the before and after photos,
like I always knew like I would hide my smile
a little, but then when I saw his before and after,
I was like, oh maybe so it I mean it's
I've not stopped smiling since. And they're amazing. They're so good.
Speaker 2 (45:55):
So they are there there, it's more than the expertise.
I mean, they're Ed's side manner, for lack of a
better term, the way you're treated that there is a
whole whole new experience. Yes, and I agree, I can
speak on behalf of these two in their whole team.
They're not pretending, they're really do care. They do And
I know you saw that quickly. Yeah, So what was
(46:15):
your before this were you did you put your hand
over your mouth or would you just not smile at all?
Because I've seen both. I've seen people that will put their.
Speaker 15 (46:22):
Hands did like a small smile like I mean I
would still smile, but it was more of a you know,
not really all in right.
Speaker 2 (46:31):
Did you ever consider that something could be done or
do you feel like that was just so off the
table you never went there.
Speaker 15 (46:37):
Well, we had talked about it before, like we had
kind of bounce that Audia back and forth before, and
then you know, whenever the contest came up, he's the
one that submitted it, Kevin did.
Speaker 3 (46:46):
So I was like, okay, well let's just let's just see.
Speaker 16 (46:49):
And then it was very.
Speaker 15 (46:50):
Humbling to have to put that out there. I didn't
realize like once you zoom in like that, but it's yeah,
so it's something that I wanted to do.
Speaker 2 (46:59):
We just never do it.
Speaker 15 (47:01):
And so then these guys stepped in and like I said,
just you can tell just the aura when you go
into the office, like everyone's so nice and good.
Speaker 2 (47:08):
Yeah. Well, the thing I think the reason why the
mother back on the years of the Rick and Bubba
shows seemed to be the one that got the most
response is I believe because it's one thing. First of all,
my wife is convinced that every man thinks he looks great.
She said, she said, she said, she said, men don't
seem to struggle with what we as women struggle with,
(47:29):
you know what I mean. And she goes, I think
all of y'all think y'all look great, whether whether you
do or not, I don't think you And she goes,
but but you know, women first of all to to
like you said, to say, all right, I got to
go out here and do pictures and and you know,
and and women are already self conscious about everything about
their physical appearance, it seems, yeah, And so also put themselves.
(47:52):
That's what I was going to say the next And
then the family. Mama's always said everybody, everybody first, everybody first,
don't worry about me. If something needs to be done
in this house is you know, the children you know,
and are first, and then you know, usually the husbandless whatever.
But the mama always says, whatever I need, that'll be last.
(48:14):
And so I think that that also. So we're going
to come back if y'all want to take the squalling.
And Kevin, Kevin sent the letter in for his wife,
and I'm watching him right now. He's already emotional, and
I know this feels so good. There's nothing feels quite
like making something happen for your wife. No way. Yeah,
she's amazing.
Speaker 17 (48:32):
So yeah, if I could any little thing I can
do for her, it's just amazing.
Speaker 2 (48:38):
Look at that face. We'll come back and we'll meet you.
Just heard from Kevin, but we'll read the letter he
sent in that was taken down to the final three.
And then you, the audience, you you said we won't.
We think Christie Ward should win. She has and we're
looking at the beautiful may go for right now and
(49:00):
those you're watching on YouTube you can see it too.
We'll come back. We'll read that letter, continue our conversation
right after this.
Speaker 1 (49:09):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, simply outworking the competition.
The Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 2 (49:30):
Thank you for being with us today, America. Always fun
to hang out together. Doctor Dudney is here, Christie is
here from Team Dudney, and we've got the winner. At
one time she was contested number two, but now you
know here as Christy Ward, the winner of Bate Mama
Smile again. Her husband Kevin's here. Their son Raylan is here.
(49:52):
By the way, Raylan just beat Dad on Burgess Ball Battle.
Lord boy, this pretty pretty. That rough youth is hard
to compete with, so you know I want to We'll
read the story. Then Christy from Tim Dudney also said
on the before and after pictures, she wants us to
focus in on something. We'll do that after I read
(50:13):
the letter, so I thought that's a great point. So
here's the letter that came in from husband Kevin. He
got ready, no squaling. Okay, no squaling.
Speaker 3 (50:22):
I can't.
Speaker 2 (50:23):
I have no promises. Okay, here we go, hope, I
don't take the squalling. Here we go.
Speaker 16 (50:29):
Where's the tissue box?
Speaker 2 (50:31):
My wife has had a hard year. Her mom got
the ultimate reward April twenty twenty four when she stepped
into heaven amen to that. As the doctors described it,
she had a catastrophic brain bleed. She never left her
mama's side. She handled it with so much grace and courage.
If you ask her, she will say it's her faith
that carried her through. Now back up to February twenty
(50:52):
twenty three, when we got the diagnosis of lymphoma for
her dad. He was fighting the dreaded sea word in
the middle of all this. July one three, her father
in law, my dad, lost his battle we cancer. I
guess you can see the pattern of lost our family
is faced this past year and a half and after
her mom passed, they were continuing with chemotherapy and added radiation.
(51:14):
That took a toll on her already grieving dad. She
took him to every appointment and they fought hard, but
ultimately her dad also lost his battle with lymphoma October
twenty twenty four. He rejoined her mom. His response to grief,
I want others to see Jesus in me instead of
why me? Why not me? Amen? She's a selfless wife, mom,
(51:36):
and third grade teacher. Her passion is helping others. She
has twenty six kiddos in her class this year. To
say that she has a lot of pressure and stress
on her is an understatement. She's talked about getting her
teeth fixed for a couple of years now. She works
so hard to take care of others. I would love
to see her get taken care of. She has always
had complaints about her teeth and her smile. I've heard
(51:57):
her say many times that she doesn't have a pretty smile.
I disagree with her. Well, her sons and I would
love for her to have the beautiful smile that she
wants to match her beautiful spirit. Her love for others
is unmatched. Her sons and I are always her priority.
So let's make her a priority and fix mama's grill.
(52:18):
How sweet. So look at the picture that we were
talking about, and Christie tell us that we need to
focus on what her eyes. Yeah, so we'll put those
up because you're talking about the difference it makes.
Speaker 3 (52:31):
Just look at her.
Speaker 14 (52:32):
Don't look at her teeth, just look at her eyes. Wow,
and how her eyes look different from the first picture.
Speaker 2 (52:38):
Look at that. It's twinkle in her eyes, twinkle confidence, confidence, yeah, joy,
and that's how Yeah. So that's it. It's I remember,
you know, talking about this with a lot of past
contestants back on the Rick and Bubba Show and even
talking to Bubba about when he had his veneers done
(52:58):
it there. It does bring confidence back, doesn't it.
Speaker 4 (53:01):
It does?
Speaker 2 (53:02):
Absolutely it does.
Speaker 15 (53:03):
Yeah, because before I'd be like, oh, like, they've got
a pretty smile and they've got a pretty small So
it absolutely does, because, like I said, I would always small.
But I mean you always had that little bit of eh.
So but now I'm beaming like my Deadney smile, Like
I'm just I'm just smiling all the time.
Speaker 2 (53:20):
Yeah, you really are. I mean, look at her, she
is so so how did you find out? So did
did did y'all? I guess if y'all had to get pictures?
Did you? I know y'all sharing it might be Kevin.
What did y'all have to just say hey out and
need to take a picture? Did you? Did she know
you had entered her? How did that work?
Speaker 4 (53:38):
Well?
Speaker 17 (53:38):
We talked about it for the past several years from
the Rick and Bubble show. Yeah, we're doing it from there,
and you know, we've talked about seeing if we could
put her in it. We never did it until this
year because just with everything that happened, I was like,
she's got to have something good OUs?
Speaker 2 (53:56):
Did that matter of my goodness? Y'all went their rough runners.
Speaker 17 (53:59):
You know, Yeah, and she had handled everything so wonderful.
Speaker 2 (54:05):
She will say that she was a mess, but I
say she's a champion.
Speaker 17 (54:10):
I mean, she stood tall and took care of brothers
and nephews and and.
Speaker 2 (54:17):
Her mom and dad and my boy here.
Speaker 17 (54:20):
You know, she usually just she's the mother hen to everybody,
and she done it with so much grace and and
seeing her in the hospital taking care of her mother
when she was going on in it was it was
just something else. Even though it was a tragedy. I
got to sit back and watch her handle it. And
(54:41):
then doing that, I seen God come through her, and
I got He gave me a deeper love for her
just watching her handle it.
Speaker 2 (54:51):
Yeah, yeah, we say s Lewis said it. You know,
pain and suffering is God's megaphone for a sleeping world.
But you know God's also you know, he's wise to
choose who he gives that megaphone too. And because just
because you have the megaphone doesn't mean you're gonna say
the right thing through it. And so you have obviously
lived out your faith and it's effected everybody who's watched you.
(55:13):
I mean it sounds like you. The parents were devout
in their faith obviously with the things they said too,
so you were you were raised.
Speaker 15 (55:19):
Right, they were like it. So looking back, there were
so many God winks along the way. Of course, when
you're in the middle of it, you don't know that.
You don't see these things. But you know, I had
just talked to mom that night, I was actually taking
dinner to some friends of ours, and then you know,
everything was fine, and then my nephew called, and so
(55:39):
that Wednesday kind of started a downward spiral for us
and what I've said through all of it, you know,
like I want others to see Christ in me, like
I want. Yes, it stinks.
Speaker 16 (55:52):
Yes, it was terrible.
Speaker 3 (55:53):
I mean it was.
Speaker 15 (55:54):
It was rough, and I know I mentioned to them
like this has been a light in a dark season.
It really has been something that. Again, grief is strange.
Grief comes and goes. Grief will come when you least
expect it. It'd just show up. But just going through
all this, I could just imagine my mom, like I
could just hear what she was saying, like Chris, that
(56:17):
looks good, you know. So so it was good, Like
we keep saying God's time is perfect. But I mean,
I know he said that he saw the strength of me,
but he was the one holding me up through it,
you know, like just having that person and having a
partner there. So it was it's been tough like this
year have well almost two years now going back through
(56:39):
all of it. But yeah, I have that piece, like
you know when Mom stepped into heaven, like I had
that piece about it. And then six and a half
months later, you know, Dad won his ultimate battle against
cancerrist I hate to say the.
Speaker 2 (56:53):
Word, yeah, yeah, lost just for people we don't know
where they are.
Speaker 15 (56:58):
Absolutely, and you know you have such a piece about that.
Speaker 16 (57:01):
I saw him grow.
Speaker 15 (57:02):
And change so much in that six and a half
months that mom passed, So that helped to give me
that piece that I needed. And again, it stinks. It
stinks for the fact that everything that they're missing with Raylan.
You know, he's thirteen with her oldest son, Blake. You
know he has children now, So just all of those
things that I look back. But you can't sit in
(57:24):
that lane. You've got to choose joy. That's what I
tell my kids every day at school.
Speaker 16 (57:28):
You got to choose joy.
Speaker 15 (57:29):
You can wake up and not or I can be
thankful that I had my mom and daddy forty three years.
Speaker 2 (57:34):
Yeah, and you know it's almost like now y'all have
giving her this makeover. It's like she was already a weapon.
Now you've just made it.
Speaker 3 (57:42):
Look how joyful she is.
Speaker 2 (57:43):
She was already next we giving her a superpower. Now
there we go.
Speaker 3 (57:50):
Yeah, well watch out.
Speaker 2 (57:52):
Well, you've you've been used again today. There's a lot
of people watching and listening to you right now and
you're being used once again. So thankful for you guys.
Speaker 3 (58:02):
Doesn't he.
Speaker 13 (58:02):
Christie, thank you talking about you understand what I'm saying
about how this could be rewarding. Oh yes, I'm sitting
here listening to Christie and obviously we've gotten to know her.
But I'm sitting here going, Wow, this is even more
rewarding than I thought. And I think it's core rewarding.
Speaker 2 (58:16):
Look at the impact.
Speaker 13 (58:18):
The emotional impact for us is great.
Speaker 1 (58:21):
That's why we'd like it.
Speaker 2 (58:22):
Well, thank you for what you guys do you guys,
you guys use your gifts. You're you're generous. Thank you
for giving us the opportunity. Yeah, and thank you Christie,
Kevin Raylan. Good to meet y'all, and we now will
unleash the new Christie on the world. Here's she comes right.
Speaker 1 (58:44):
This is the rick Burgers Show.
Speaker 3 (59:18):
So there you go.
Speaker 2 (59:20):
Uh make Mama smile again. And we certainly did do.
We great to meet that wonderful family. Thank you, Doney
in the gang. There's always great job there. Uh, they
always do a great job. So I do want to
point this out. A lot of you out there watching
and listening, you're you're you've kind of been keeping your
(59:42):
eye on some of the you know, your your ozempics
and things like that, and you're like, I don't know
something about the shot. I don't know if I want
to be doing a shot. You can be incredibly expensive,
as you know as well. And what what if you
were thinking about maybe a natural solution, something, something that
you feel a little better about. That takes us to
(01:00:03):
take Lian dot com. And it's a natural ingredients that
doctors have been working on that is showing great results.
A lot of you already emailing the results you have,
and it does help you with your appetite naturally. It
helps you keep a blood sugar level that is healthy naturally,
(01:00:25):
so it helps you have a clean energy naturally. So
if you'd like to find out more and say no
needles for me, why don't you go to take Lian
dot com. Take Lian dot com, use our code big
vox and get twenty percent off. You also find that
link at Rick Burgess show dot com under sponsors. And
(01:00:48):
you know, you can take something that is natural, something
that your body needs anyway, but at the same time,
naturally is an appetite suppressant. Naturally, you know your blood
sugar at a healthy level, So find out more. And
again some of these you know, you goet and do
some of these things where they starve you to death
and all that, and then you don't have any energy.

With this, you have energy. So get yours today at
tait lean dot com. Use the code big vox and
get twenty percent off and let us know how it's
working for you. So another successful mama leaves out of here.
And boy, let me tell you that that right there,
they were a lot of fun. They were what a
great family, what a great story.
Speaker 6 (01:01:28):
Yeah, and so she said, I didn't want to add
to it, but after everything that went we went through
with my parents and Kevin's and all that, we had
to put our dog down, she said, But I didn't
want to keep adding two the twenty twenty four year.
But what a great what a great story about her
and her family.
Speaker 4 (01:01:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:01:47):
Absolutely, Yeah. Can I tell you that I'm really thankful
that I'm just too late now. I'm glad. I'm glad
that I didn't before that, like decide right in the
middle of it to do somewhat about the dog segment
or something like that. Oh I know they were sitting here.
That would have been bad. So that it almost makes
me nervous that could have happened, because you know, we'll
get a what about the dog email?
Speaker 11 (01:02:07):
Now?
Speaker 2 (01:02:08):
Oh yeah, yeah, a lot a lot. So there's a
lot of that that's going on.
Speaker 6 (01:02:12):
I declare to the family, you know how, Sometimes you'll
just stand there and announce it. Have I got an
announcement to the family, Yes, please do not feed the
dogs anymore, no scrap food, you know whatever, because we'll
do that. Uh, three throw ups in one day and
we don't know what happened.
Speaker 2 (01:02:29):
And I'm like, so'm I am a grown man in
my head cleaning up dogs, you know how, having a
throw up again and again and again. How can this be?
Speaker 6 (01:02:43):
I just declared it because the dog food's not doing
it to something. But but and and had that look, yes, sir.
Speaker 2 (01:02:51):
Got it, you know.
Speaker 6 (01:02:53):
And I'm like, I'm not saying it's it's Cuddy. I
don't know who it is, but it's one of them.
You know a lot of times a dog can tell
you is hated you do it, and it's just the
way they react.
Speaker 3 (01:03:02):
Yeah, it's like.
Speaker 2 (01:03:04):
Written all over your past.
Speaker 3 (01:03:05):
Yeah, Jack, it was you, right.
Speaker 6 (01:03:07):
Because you know, when you're getting on and one of
them kind of look like looks down and kind of
walks away a little bit.
Speaker 3 (01:03:12):
Oh yeah, did you.
Speaker 2 (01:03:14):
You don't know you're one percent right. I've dealt with
that before. Yeah, I've Actually, when we still had a dog,
I remember the minute that I walked into the area
where the dog was located. If the dog had done
something that the dog knew however instinctively whatever, that it
was not what we allow. They'll have a look. Oh yeah,
(01:03:35):
they'll look down. Oh yeah, they'll look down in a second, right.
Uh And look, Terry and I were a great team.
But when it comes to throw up, I'm the guy.
She said she can't deal with it.
Speaker 6 (01:03:45):
And I'm sorry I'm saying it like that because I'm
just trying.
Speaker 2 (01:03:50):
But it just speaking of Yeah, by the way, please
nobody wants to see Please text nation yea, we do.
Nobody see you gross whatever, don't do this. I don't
know why y'all want to show us scars people. This
is why y'all want to show us sores. People want
to show you where they We don't want to see infection,
(01:04:14):
we don't want to see open wounds. Don't send us
these picture You're just messed up now, that's all. But
we don't want to see it. I'll say this. Anybody
sends us a gross picture, we're gonna block you. Now,
Dion Sanders talk kind of yeah, kind.
Speaker 3 (01:04:27):
Of you know what, we don't want to see his
I don' want to see.
Speaker 2 (01:04:29):
Anybody now, you know, how about none of it? All right? So,
speaking of emails, you know, anytime you want to email
the show that may be considered for on air, just
simply put in the subject line hey bird, Hey bird.
(01:04:51):
Uh and we can do that.
Speaker 4 (01:04:52):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:04:52):
So, let's have a look here. I stopped by a
gas station, Birge. This is from Devin on the way
home from work today, thanks to the conversation on the show,
just seeing what foods might be available. Now, see, now
we started people stopping and eating at gas stations. It's
not bad.
Speaker 4 (01:05:09):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:05:09):
I usually don't eat candy. Oh a shocker. Didn't didn't
like it even as a kid, weird kid, thank you, Greg.
Don't really like it now, however, something caught my eye.
I saw a Reese's peanut butter and jelly today.
Speaker 3 (01:05:30):
Had to try it had to opposite effect on me.
Speaker 2 (01:05:32):
It grossed me out. Have you or any of the
guys seen these little cups of joy? I've seen them,
but something about it. I have not. No, I'm peanut
butter and jelly cups. It's Reese cups, peanut butter and
jelly cup, not just peanut butter. I'm not a big saying.
Speaker 3 (01:05:53):
Okay, they got strawberry and grape.
Speaker 2 (01:05:57):
I'm not.
Speaker 6 (01:05:57):
I'm with you, Greg. When I hear that, they try
to do to see that that's okay. See, okay, I
see what you're saying.
Speaker 3 (01:06:02):
Now, that really good.
Speaker 2 (01:06:03):
I just don't like the presentation. I don't either. I'm
with you, baby brother. I look at that. You go
a peanut butter and jelly cup. No, thank you. And
let's face it, Jay, let's face it. The recee cup.
It was perfection. There's not need to dabble. Yeah, I mean,
how about this? You did it? You did it? Yeah,
so congratulations adding jelly trying to be sharp. Now, he
(01:06:25):
he's a guy who didn't like candy. See maybe that's
the problem. Maybe he don't know enough about candy. Yeah,
he don't know, he don't know. He never really even
had a recee cup. What does he know? Sounds like
he is a candy watch it that one. Yeah, I can't.
I wouldn't.
Speaker 6 (01:06:42):
I wouldn't mind biking into one and just seeing, you know,
but I'm not gonna I don't think. I don't think
I'm gonna search it out. But if it was just like,
let's just say, someone in the box seat says, hey, guys,
here's something to try. I'm not trying.
Speaker 2 (01:06:53):
You're not even gonna try. What if you you you
took a bite? When wow, geez?
Speaker 3 (01:06:59):
I like it?
Speaker 2 (01:06:59):
All right, So here we go. Let me tell you
this text Nation, where we get our instant feedback. They
hate them. Okay, well maybe I mean that is coming
in Kevin. They hate them. I don't know what you liked,
but the text Nation hates them. I mean it is.
I mean they're saying terrible jelly tastes like paste. There
(01:07:23):
had been one. I like it well, And I'm with you, Greg.
When you tell me, hey, Recee cups added jelly, my
first thought is, I know, I don't want anything to
do with that. But again, I'm not trying it. I'm
on record.
Speaker 3 (01:07:36):
I'm not a real peanut butter and jelly sandwich person.
Speaker 2 (01:07:40):
Are you a rece cut person? Oh?
Speaker 7 (01:07:41):
Yeah, yeah, I'm a both person.
Speaker 3 (01:07:44):
I like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and I
like Reess Cups, but I don't want them together. It's like,
what is it?
Speaker 7 (01:07:50):
The Moose tracks I like better.
Speaker 3 (01:07:52):
Than the Extreme movies the Extreme Like like them.
Speaker 2 (01:07:57):
Both, though I don't know the difference. What is what
you're talking about?
Speaker 3 (01:08:01):
It extreame has chocolate ice cream as opposed to vanilla.
I see. I like, just straight up, you guys ever
have that, you're like, have a product and then they're
like now with more extremeness, and then you try and
you don't like it as much.
Speaker 7 (01:08:12):
I think that's this, That's what this is.
Speaker 2 (01:08:13):
Yeah, I think what's happened? I think I don't know
if we get bored, there's somebody sitting at a conference
room saying we're selling too many Reese Cups. We need
to do something new. Sometimes news not always better. Let's
let's tamper with it. You know, if you can't improve
on it, then just leave it along. And a lot
of times these attempts to approve on it actually go
the other way. Like you said, Gret, there's no need
(01:08:35):
for chocolate ice cream.
Speaker 3 (01:08:37):
This seems like it. Don't don't fix it if it
ain't broke. Don't know that scenario.
Speaker 2 (01:08:40):
Moose tricks were fine, No, I like extreme really moose
tracks were fine. Put a little whipped cream on it.
I think the chocolate's better. I did.
Speaker 3 (01:08:48):
Okay, Well, well, I didn't know we had such a
difference in how we feel about it.
Speaker 2 (01:08:53):
Yeah, I'm just saying. I mean, if I had the two,
I'm going with it. With the cholume ad though every much.
Speaker 3 (01:09:00):
I didn't know it was gonna make you bad?
Speaker 2 (01:09:02):
Well do y'all like even the Tube City? Tube City
in the chat room says they're terrible.
Speaker 3 (01:09:06):
I didn't see one. Email says I love it.
Speaker 2 (01:09:09):
I think I saw one, Oh, just one. I didn't
see that. They're coming in so fas.
Speaker 3 (01:09:15):
Y'all like the white chocolate Reess go, No, Yeah, they're
pretty good. What about the Christmas Tree?
Speaker 18 (01:09:20):
No?
Speaker 3 (01:09:20):
What about the egg?
Speaker 2 (01:09:23):
No?
Speaker 4 (01:09:24):
The eggs? Chat?
Speaker 2 (01:09:25):
Yeah? Too much?
Speaker 1 (01:09:26):
Is the Rick Burgess Show?
Speaker 3 (01:09:55):
I think we can say goodbye to that CD?
Speaker 2 (01:09:57):
Multiple cuts back on them, all right, So as we
work our way back, we say hello, thank you for
being with us. Do you text Nation?
Speaker 3 (01:10:13):
Look where.
Speaker 2 (01:10:15):
Where we come from?
Speaker 3 (01:10:17):
You know?
Speaker 2 (01:10:17):
Do you either say recy cup or you say Recee cup?
We never get it right. It's not Reese's cup, not
where we come from. And Calhoun County, you're lucky if
you don't get to say recy cup because we normally
say recy cup or Recee cup. I know on the
label it's actually Reese's cup with possessive s, but we
don't say it that way. So I'm sorry. I just
(01:10:40):
we eat them where we that's a good piece again.
And Calhoun County, you say it either recee cup or
recy cup. We say recee cup. The one said and
we picked on right. You know, you don't say Reese's cup,
even though that's correct. If you were a child, you
could say cup. You could what you got to be
a teenager? It's ree up. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:11:00):
And my youngest being named Reese, there you go. He's
got a nickname from his mom that I think he's
outgrown and she won't let it go. And it's it's
recy pooh oh. And I said it out loud, and
I hope his journeyman didn't hear that.
Speaker 2 (01:11:17):
Boy wow on the work.
Speaker 6 (01:11:19):
Site, he's gonna be in a handle. But at what
point do you outgrow a nickname from your mom? Or
you always that way? I know, like, are you a
grown man? You know kids you walk in the house.
Speaker 2 (01:11:30):
Yeah, your mom what mom gets a pass? Yeah? Yeah,
I guess you're right. My mom stopped calling me a
little rick Rick when I was fifty one, which I
was not. I was kind of glad.
Speaker 3 (01:11:39):
Yeah, fifty one.
Speaker 2 (01:11:43):
Which what was your nickname from her? I don't know
if I had one. No, he had names, but they
we can't say him. Yeah, I remember Dad had one
for you. Yeah, and he always asked you why you
had to be one? Yeah? Yeah, God, it was fun. Hey, great,
come here. Why you have to be sure? Isn't the
narrow one? Arrow was one? Because I heard him calling
(01:12:06):
that the other one was the other? One? Started with
the T and he was concentrated. Why he had to
be one? Yeah, you won't to say it. Well, that's
not really. It's like Greg had disrupted yet another family
gathered that's supposed to be joyful. You don't have a
bad attitude about it. Greg, let me ask you like that.
(01:12:34):
And I remember he was asking Greg that one. Greg
was like just a little boy looking up at him.
Speaker 3 (01:12:37):
But I don't know that.
Speaker 2 (01:12:38):
I just said, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:12:39):
Again, I don't know how to overcome it. That's on me, y, Sorry, buddy,
help you doesn't get that.
Speaker 2 (01:12:44):
Yeah, wow, that irresponsible with that. After I'm a little
how come you didn't call me? What I heard? I
heard yoused like clear out some land you needed my help.
Speaker 3 (01:12:53):
I thought about calling you, you know, yesterday. I actually
think I told you guys during the break my yard.
You know, when you you just have so much yard
work to do, you your yard beats you up. Yeah,
my yard beat me up on Sunday special. If you
get behind on it, it's like it's just too much. Yes,
(01:13:14):
and uh wow, just first on mode and then I
have this whole area that's not grass. It's just kind
of wild. You know, it's natural. Yeah, it's a natural area. Uh.
And I was actually at my neighbor's house directly next
door neighbor's house, and when they're when you're at their kitchen,
(01:13:35):
you look out their window and there's our house right there.
Speaker 7 (01:13:38):
I was in my neighbor's kitchen.
Speaker 2 (01:13:39):
Yeah, you know, that's a whole nother story.
Speaker 3 (01:13:41):
They have kids like the exact same age, so.
Speaker 6 (01:13:44):
Were there at.
Speaker 7 (01:13:46):
Our place all the time.
Speaker 3 (01:13:47):
It's like their kid is one age, and then Ruby
and then they have another kid, and then there's Eezra
and then they have another kid. He is. I actually
I actually got him into did you come? I came in.
I came in a little hot on jiu jitsu effect,
but he actually my neighbor jumped in and he's kind
(01:14:09):
of better than me now, and that really I kind
of I wish I'd never told him because now I
have to really work hard to keep up with him.
Speaker 7 (01:14:15):
It is not cool at all.
Speaker 2 (01:14:17):
So this is kind of like when had little friends.
Speaker 3 (01:14:19):
Yeah, I'm sorry, long story short. I'm in their kitchen.
I can look out their window and see my house,
and there's this one hill that I don't really see,
you know.
Speaker 2 (01:14:33):
But that's their perspective, their perspective whole.
Speaker 3 (01:14:37):
That's what they think of and that's what they see
in it. And y'all it's just sticks.
Speaker 7 (01:14:41):
It's just stick city. I'm just like, oh, that's a
great wonderful hillside of sticks.
Speaker 3 (01:14:47):
So I spent like two hours picking up sticks in
my yard yesterday. You get short of breath when you're
down there, you know.
Speaker 2 (01:14:56):
What I mean, You're not tell anything.
Speaker 3 (01:15:01):
I put them in a cart and then I take
the cart and I loaded, and I take it back
into the further woods and I just dump it in
the wood.
Speaker 7 (01:15:10):
I should.
Speaker 3 (01:15:11):
I've got y'all got two piles that are as big
as an igloo, Like like I've show I got two
piles that that big. And I guess I'm just gonna
have to get a burn permit and just burn it.
Speaker 2 (01:15:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:15:22):
But so I'm like, all right, let me improve my
what my neighbors think of me. They already think I'm weird.
I got the van. You know, you just want to
you want to put your best foot forward.
Speaker 2 (01:15:32):
You got to sign out that says slow kids.
Speaker 3 (01:15:34):
And I gotta sign out and says no, no, no, no.
This says slow down the children. It does not say
slow children at play. I went and checked because you
don't have me worried that I had a sign that
was maybe telling people something about my kids. And so y'all,
I'm picking up the sticks and you're out of breath,
and you're like you can feel like your blood and
your brain and all this stuff. And I don't know
(01:15:55):
what you guys do when it comes to stick method,
but I've got I got gloves on, and I just
stay down and I try to bundle up. And then
you got two bundles and you start making noises like
you always go for one more, you always.
Speaker 19 (01:16:10):
And then she double pick it up a bunch of times,
ring finger, get one more, and so I'm pushing them
into the wagon cart thing, you know, substantial took a
landscaping cart.
Speaker 3 (01:16:22):
Yes, And I push down and you know when you're
doing something and you're.
Speaker 7 (01:16:28):
Like this is this is stupid, but you just.
Speaker 3 (01:16:31):
Kind of keep doing it like you're like in the
motion of it and you're like, this is stupid. And
I did it and some of the sticks broke and
ricocheted up into my face and just cut me right on.
Speaker 2 (01:16:42):
My I below the eye, right below.
Speaker 3 (01:16:46):
I could have lost my eye, y'all.
Speaker 2 (01:16:50):
Just pushing down. One just broke away.
Speaker 7 (01:16:52):
I could have been a pirate or something.
Speaker 2 (01:16:53):
It was just so you got slapped by a stick.
Speaker 7 (01:16:55):
It was like a tree pimp slapped me, y'all.
Speaker 3 (01:16:58):
It hurts and pimps. I mean it was like a
tree walked up to me from Lord of the Rings, like, oh,
I mean, it hurts so bad, and it like just
you know, when you just wake up, you know, because
before that, I was like in my podcast, you know,
(01:17:18):
time is going kind of fast, and then you're like, wow,
I just got pimp slapped by a tree.
Speaker 2 (01:17:24):
Right, you like to know what podcast?
Speaker 3 (01:17:29):
Actually, Dave Ramsey, stop buying things you can't afford. You'll drown.
Speaker 7 (01:17:33):
That was the name of the episode.
Speaker 3 (01:17:35):
That was the name of the episode. Took the scooter
but so uh but Rick, I want you to know
I was actually very handy this weekend. Nice yeah, yeah, yeah,
just like you are you and I actually it took
some scrap wood and I built a bench for my
kids here.
Speaker 7 (01:17:54):
You can see bench here. And my kids love squirt guns.
Speaker 3 (01:18:00):
They and uh here, Rick, I got audio two of this.
Speaker 2 (01:18:06):
Hold on, So y'all don't have squirt guns. They use
the spray bottles.
Speaker 3 (01:18:12):
Gray bottles. I don't know why they keep showing up,
but these spray bottles keep showing up and they're causing problems.
Speaker 2 (01:18:17):
Probably work better than a squirt gun. You're gonna hear
me get a little let's let's talk about it. By
the way, an Ezra space BEINGI reader and muddier.
Speaker 1 (01:18:27):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 20 (01:18:39):
Let's go there, John, It's time for the Rick Persons Show.
Speaker 12 (01:18:54):
Broadcasting from the real world.
Speaker 3 (01:18:57):
Here we go, America, brand new hour. Thank you for
being with us.
Speaker 2 (01:19:02):
As you heard the gangs all here, we thank you
for being with us. Burgess ball battle coming up a
little later. The vox seats will fill. We're chatty with Adler,
and he's out. He went over to his neighbors to
see the perspective of his yard from their kitchen window,
(01:19:22):
only to notice that his yard needed some work. He
went out, tried to tackle various sticks, crammed them into
some sort of cart sticks broke, slapped him in the face,
cut him. Uh, And so then he said, well, I
did have a week of being handy. And he was
showing us a bench that he made for his children.
(01:19:44):
We now see the children that they didn't not on
the bench. They used spray bottles as we would use
squirt guns. Correct. Yes, they love them, okay, but they
basically they're just using them as squirt guns, right, yes, okay,
just water, just water, it's just watering.
Speaker 3 (01:20:01):
Yeah, and it's I mean, the kids, the kids love
these squirt bottles so much. All right. So this is
scrap wood that I created this little bench out of
in their little playhouse here, so they got an outdoor playhouse. Uh,
they're sitting on the bench, and y'all, I couldn't find
my circular saw.
Speaker 7 (01:20:18):
So I'm literally out there with a handsaw like.
Speaker 2 (01:20:21):
It's eighteen forty waw.
Speaker 3 (01:20:25):
And this saw like I don't. I don't own a handsaw.
This handsaw came with the house. It's that kind of handsaw.
You know what I'm saying, Like this handsaw, it's older
than I am. It's so rusted when it when you
when you pull back, because you know how when you
when you saw you put your it's actually on the push.
Speaker 7 (01:20:42):
Yeah, most of the time, the way these teeth are
set up.
Speaker 2 (01:20:44):
Sure, I wish it was the pull right nod? Disagree?
Oh so started? Yeah, it's always cuts backwards. That's all
I'm talking about. Handsaw for trees.
Speaker 3 (01:21:00):
Well, I'm talking about just like this is like a
draw a picture of a saw in a cartoon in
a book, Like it's that saw.
Speaker 7 (01:21:08):
You know what I'm saying, Like the square.
Speaker 2 (01:21:09):
I still thought that one cuts coming back.
Speaker 3 (01:21:11):
No, I'm the one slightly curved.
Speaker 2 (01:21:14):
I guess that's.
Speaker 3 (01:21:15):
Yeah, the curved one. Greg, That's not what I'm talking about.
I'm talking about just like a wood saw. I know
what you're talking about, wood saw.
Speaker 2 (01:21:22):
Look like we're not talking about a limb sauce.
Speaker 3 (01:21:24):
I'm not talking about a limb sauce.
Speaker 2 (01:21:26):
I got you. It's on the back. Great, we got
it right.
Speaker 3 (01:21:29):
That's not what I am talking about.
Speaker 2 (01:21:33):
He's talking about.
Speaker 3 (01:21:35):
I'm talking about like your saw saw, like your your
pop pause wood sawyeh AnyWho, Okay, that's that's not even
about the saw. Greg.
Speaker 2 (01:21:44):
You take us down and actually cuts back by the
way in Alferdness, you took us down the saw road, and.
Speaker 3 (01:21:49):
So it's even it's it's struggling to come back at me.
Speaker 2 (01:21:55):
I am struggling, is doing that thing, you know what,
trying to cut it, push it.
Speaker 3 (01:22:01):
That's the way the teeth goes. That's the way the
teeth goes. And so I finally get this done. I'm
so sweaty. I finally get it done.
Speaker 7 (01:22:10):
I'm so sweaty.
Speaker 3 (01:22:11):
I get this bench and it's in the playhouse, the
kids are sitting on it and Ezra, I'm trying to
record a video to show you guys. Ezra is going
to hit me in the eyes with the squirt bottle.
Speaker 2 (01:22:23):
That's pretty good.
Speaker 3 (01:22:23):
I'm going to move to a new location. He's going
to hit me in the eyes again twice, and I
actually get upset, and you're gonna hear hear it.
Speaker 7 (01:22:33):
Yes, all right, here we go.
Speaker 3 (01:22:35):
All right, so got me just then, got me just then.
I am moving angles and he's gonna get me again.
Speaker 7 (01:22:43):
In my eyes, look at that face. I'm gathering myself gathering.
Speaker 4 (01:22:51):
So I made this.
Speaker 7 (01:22:51):
Bench for the kids today.
Speaker 3 (01:22:55):
Like we didn't with the cool came.
Speaker 6 (01:23:07):
Yeah, that's so great.
Speaker 3 (01:23:12):
Yeah, I think I think one of Oh yeah, there
it is right.
Speaker 7 (01:23:14):
There's the bed that's actual handiness.
Speaker 2 (01:23:18):
Oh yeah, I made one of those.
Speaker 7 (01:23:21):
You made one of those thirty one you've made one
of them.
Speaker 2 (01:23:24):
We got one down to farm you that you made
or did Gary make it? And you watched it Actually
was in there when I bolt the place, so you
kind of made but I kind of fixed it, made
it better.
Speaker 3 (01:23:35):
There you go that.
Speaker 6 (01:23:36):
I think my favorite part was was when it started.
Ruby she was going to try to kind of get
close to sporting you, but she looked forward like she
wasn't going to do it. Oh yeah, and she got
really close and I think she was. Ezra was a
little more direct, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:23:54):
Because she sprays me in the face right in the
y'all hit The water droplets are.
Speaker 2 (01:23:59):
In my eyes to do it again that last time,
but why don't you take back a moment and say,
while my son can shoot one of these guns really good.
Speaker 7 (01:24:06):
He really can't.
Speaker 3 (01:24:07):
He I was holding that out. I was patient with him,
but I was upset. You can hear it, my boy through.
Speaker 7 (01:24:11):
Please don't scab me in my eyes all.
Speaker 2 (01:24:14):
R right there? You got like that.
Speaker 7 (01:24:19):
This kid, he's the squirreliest kid on the planet.
Speaker 2 (01:24:23):
Goodness open, you didn't get another good You know, it's
interesting when he uses saw he cuts on the.
Speaker 3 (01:24:34):
You don't show me the bench you made this weekend, Greg,
show you made?
Speaker 2 (01:24:40):
That's it? That was That was a good looking one. Okay,
you did it with the handsaw. That's impressive. I did.
But your name was broader hangover.
Speaker 3 (01:24:51):
That's on purpose. Okay, that's on purpose. That's on purpose, Greg. Okay,
I know it's got more hangover. And you said it
under your breath and I heard it. This side has more. Yes,
that's on purpose. Looking to see these holes right here.
These are for the kids to put their little fake
little screwdriver thing. They can put it on there like it's.
Speaker 7 (01:25:11):
A work bench. You put it and that's why center
and that's why it.
Speaker 3 (01:25:15):
Has the hangover, Greg, like you like you're you have
a hangover, right, now.
Speaker 7 (01:25:21):
Right now, this has a hangover there.
Speaker 6 (01:25:22):
Yes, is that what you were thinking the whole time
you saw it? No, I figured it was by design
some reason. There's no way but do that on purpose.
Speaker 2 (01:25:31):
So so Adler your name was brought up this past
weekend when Sharon and I went to the farm. We
have a rocking chair that you know, you've ever had something.
You're like, Okay, it's just a little bit broke. It's
not throw away broke. It's not replacement broke.
Speaker 7 (01:25:45):
It's all of my stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:25:46):
You know. I think this could be fixed, and every
attempt to fix it has not worked. And and this
is what happened. There wouldn't rocking chairs. So she's like,
you think Gary could do I said that, you know,
I don't know if this is Gary's work older, if
he has time for all this? Hey, what hey? And
then she brought up Adler, your dad, and and I said,
(01:26:08):
you know, Michael Adler, you talk about woodwork. And I said,
but you know odds to him getting She goes, you
know what, I wonder if Chris could do it? I said, well,
Chris claims to have the some of the same skills
with woodwork that his dad has, but I'm not sure
to what level, but I stand correct the day after
I saw this, bitch, you know, I mean you could
(01:26:28):
use a handsaf What do you think about being called
in to fix a rocking chair?
Speaker 7 (01:26:32):
What's wrong with it?
Speaker 2 (01:26:34):
One of the arm rests has the has detached from
where you know, the little thing on the end would
have gone into the hole like a you know, the
puzzle there. You're not talking like a handy, you know
how you where it goes into the back. Yes, that broke, Okay,
so I don't know, I mean you, I mean, the
pieces is broke. So I don't know how you would
this is get chair. Some of these wood glues and
(01:26:56):
stuff they haven't done yet.
Speaker 3 (01:26:57):
Not everybody throws everything away when they when they hassle.
Speaker 2 (01:27:02):
And I keep saying, I literally said, Saturday, wherever you
ordered these from, just order another one and let's just
get rid of it or put it somewhere that's less important.
Speaker 18 (01:27:12):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:27:13):
It looks yeah, and well just looks like said, I mean,
the chair looks completely fine except that one little thing.
And you know, and then when you put your arm
on it, you on one side, it'll dip and it
bothers you you know, it's like that, yeah, because it's
not supposed to be like that. Yeah, and uh I
somehow I keep being blamed that I did it. I
don't know how I did it, but I don't think
(01:27:35):
I did it.
Speaker 7 (01:27:36):
You'll sit hard. I've noticed your sound.
Speaker 2 (01:27:38):
Sweat Share said, I'm saying that chair it's what I
call plopping down.
Speaker 4 (01:27:43):
PLoP down. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:27:45):
Show hunt Jack said, if you'll take Hi hunting, you'll
come back well after you'll play golf.
Speaker 2 (01:27:48):
I will.
Speaker 3 (01:27:49):
Well, you need to come and flop down on that
bench I made because it's super solid. And Greg is
just jealous of my craftsman ship.
Speaker 2 (01:27:55):
I'm gonna bring my fellow Jesus, I'm a carper. I'm
gonna get over and work in that area you got.
Speaker 1 (01:27:59):
For the This is the Rick Burgess Show, doing what
he was for and to do Budger's shows.
Speaker 2 (01:28:22):
All right, America, thanks for being with us today.
Speaker 3 (01:28:28):
Did it.
Speaker 2 (01:28:30):
I've got a great update from my pillow Mike Lyndell
on the game. Got some new items for you today.
When I say new, they're they're bringing back some items
that we love and got them on seal and I
love these, have these, love them, love them, love them,
just in time for back to school. My slippers are
(01:28:51):
back and they're only thirty nine ninety eight. That's a
great price on those. Man, They're good, you'll love them.
Of course I started word, I'm like my normal shoes.
You know that's a saving. Are you ready for this savings?
Are you all ready one hundred and ten dollars?
Speaker 11 (01:29:08):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (01:29:08):
Yeah, I got your attention, didn't it happening right now?
Also back to school gift giving or stocking up. The
summer sheet sales going on. You want to jump on
this too, the best sheet you've ever slept on, and
then multiple of that experience by you know, I'm talking
about when you think about the best sheet you've ever
(01:29:28):
slept on, then if you've never slept on these, I
want you to multiply the best sheet you've ever slept
on by like tenfolk. Okay, so we're talking about Giza
Dream bed sheets in any size, any color from the
world's best cotton. This is back forty nine ninety eight
(01:29:51):
prokl bed sheets. Breatheable, crisp, cool, feel great for summer
twenty nine eighty eight. Also any size, any color. This
is a steal, a steal, so take advantage of this
right now using our code big vox. You can do
that at Rick burgesshow dot com un or sponsors as well.
The links right there. All right, So a couple of
(01:30:13):
items let's talk about, you know, I mean when sometimes
you just hear things and you watch things and you
just tilt your head. This Jeff Daniels thing today, Hey,
what's going on? I'm so sorry with y'all. I mean,
because I know we kind of like Jeff Daniels again,
but I mean this is just why this well, this
goes back again to what we keep saying. You know,
(01:30:36):
with the start of this year and this new adventure
of the four of us are on, we got to
keep things real. And it's even okay to say you
have a preference, but you got to keep it real.
I mean, you can't get off in a world of
just you know, the Emperor has no clothing, you know,
and we're pretending that he does. So here we go.
(01:30:58):
When I say this headline, if you haven't heard this
story yet, when I say this headline, do we have it?
What's gonna what do y'all think? Do you have the
exact quote? Or should I give the headline first? Okay,
Jeff Daniels is lamenting over Kamala Harris not being elected president.
He can't believe that we didn't elect Let me say
(01:31:19):
it again, Kamala Harris. We all have political differences, not
he's lamenting over, say, back when he was running that
we didn't pick Bill Clinton. Yeah, you know that, but
but we're talking about lamenting. We didn't pick Barack Obama. Okay, lamenting,
we didn't pick Kamala Harris.
Speaker 18 (01:31:38):
Ye.
Speaker 2 (01:31:39):
Look, I oppose Clinton, I oppose Obama and the way
that they see the world on most things. Okay, but
they're capable people, right, yeah, okay, Kamala Harris. Okay. So
and here come just when you thought, well, okay, that's
silly to lament that you had a preference you didn't
like Trump, he goes further. And when I say this
(01:32:01):
next thing, I can't believe what I'm reading. Suggest if
we had all elected Kamala Harris, and don't forget what
party this guy was actually from, Kamala Harris would have
governed like wait for it, Abraham Lincoln. Oh my, Abraham Lincoln.
(01:32:22):
You're talking about the Republican Abraham Lincoln, you're talking about
in the middle of the Civil War, you're talking about
ended slavery and all that. Abraham Lincoln. You're comparing Kamala
Harris to Abraham Lincoln. I think that Jeff Daniels should
be taken in for some sort of He needs to
(01:32:44):
take a cognitive test. He needs to be tested to
see worth remember where he is normally. This is unbelievable.
I mean, it's okay to say that was your preference.
I don't. I mean, I can disagree with that and
wonder where you're coming up with. You can even say anything,
but again, I don't agree with that. But but but
I can. You can have that point of view and
(01:33:05):
may not think there's something wrong with you saying that
Kamala Harris would have governed like Abraham Lincoln, and how
what a good choice it would have been the.
Speaker 3 (01:33:17):
Lincoln.
Speaker 2 (01:33:19):
I mean, that's like somebody's saying, I just wish the
Bulls would have picked Rick Burgess back when they picked
Michael Jordan's right. You know, if Rick Burgess would have
come back, Yeah, he could have. He could have been
the greatest basketball player ever. I tell you he would
have played. He would have played like doctor j Yeah.
I mean, you'd be like what I mean that's crazy.
(01:33:39):
So this was on some podcast.
Speaker 7 (01:33:41):
Yeah, it looks like it was.
Speaker 3 (01:33:42):
It was the Best People podcast with Nicole Wallace, which
how how out of touch and just self important do
you have to be to call your podcasts the best
people and invite people on and say these are the
best people. I only talk to the best people Nicole Wallace?
Of course that uh corrupt?
Speaker 7 (01:34:05):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (01:34:06):
What was she on CNN?
Speaker 2 (01:34:08):
I believe MSNBC.
Speaker 3 (01:34:09):
Okay, yeah, she's just an absolute.
Speaker 2 (01:34:12):
Hack and uh okay, yes and.
Speaker 7 (01:34:15):
Just tool for the Democrat Party.
Speaker 3 (01:34:18):
Yes.
Speaker 6 (01:34:19):
And speaking of Kamala Harris, she was mocked online for
for literally celebrating the one year anniversary of her failed
presidential campaigns A president. Joe Biden endorsed Kamala uh shortly
after dropping out of the race on July twenty first,
twenty twenty four. But it's almost I mean, is that
(01:34:40):
when you like, if you're a former, you know, let's
say baseball player, you celebrate going oh for.
Speaker 2 (01:34:45):
Three a year from today.
Speaker 6 (01:34:46):
You know, it's like how you post it or something,
and hey, I blew a save a year ago today.
Speaker 2 (01:34:52):
You know, why are you celebrating that? Well, it goes
not what you didn't win. Anything you were you were handed.
Speaker 3 (01:34:57):
Oh you got to be bad?
Speaker 2 (01:34:58):
Yeah, well you I shall go back to This is
why we keep talking about this fake world. Pick six
a year ago. Today, this celebrates and horns out this
hanging on to Kamala Harris, even after the nation nation
could not have spoken any any louder on Kamala Harris,
uh and and hanging on still pretending that was a
(01:35:22):
good idea. Is weird, It's not, it's not even, it's
not even, it's not even necessary text nations saying this
is all a PR stunt. This must be the promotion
of the next dumb and dumber seat, with Jeff Daniels
back in character. He's a character, but I mean, think
(01:35:42):
about this.
Speaker 6 (01:35:43):
Though she didn't win to win a single primary vote,
she was handed the Democratic nomination, and she's celebrating that.
Speaker 2 (01:35:50):
Yeah, yeah, I think they bucked the system. I'm celebrating.
This guy's health was so bad he had to step down, right,
but he was fine, and I got elevated, was celebrate.
Speaker 3 (01:36:00):
And Jeff Daniels on that same podcast was like, there's
no such thing as decency anymore, There's no such thing
as the rule of law, and all this stuff and
you're like, they're they're the ones that were weaponizing the
justice system against Trump. Where where what happened to all
those cases? He's a convicted fella in all that what
was it? Thirty four felonies?
Speaker 2 (01:36:19):
We are living trying trying to say thing enough things
enough that does somehow make it true.
Speaker 7 (01:36:25):
Echo Chamber Wallace was all part of it.
Speaker 2 (01:36:29):
Same. I ignore everything that's inconsistent with my point of view,
as if it's not happening or never happened. I mean
the Democratic Party is I mean, then we get into
this weird interview with Hunter Biden where he goes off
on this well he's a class act and there's not
enough beeps in I mean, who let him out of
wherever they were holding him?
Speaker 3 (01:36:51):
The conversation sounds like a truck backing up.
Speaker 2 (01:36:57):
Unscreened phone calls or next out America, Your turn. We
will turn the show over to you, and we'll recklessly
take phone calls as they come. The numbers eight eight days,

Speaker 2 (01:38:32):

phone calls let's go.
Speaker 23 (01:39:28):
Hey, my name is Larson, and I am I got
my PhD at Mississippi State in history, and uh, I
was just thinking about Abraham Lincoln. And I'm super conservative,
all right, So I know this isn't gonna sound politically correct,
but I think Kamala Harris would have been like Abraham
(01:39:48):
Lincoln in violations of the Constitution and in going to
war that should not have happened. And you know, I
think that maybe Jeff da Annuals has a point if
he hates Abraham Lincoln, what he's.
Speaker 2 (01:40:05):
Trying to make, Yeah, that would be the only way
that was true.
Speaker 4 (01:40:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:40:09):
There were some things that the federal the federal government
kind of they they left the limitations of the Constitution
and some of the things that happened in and after
the Civil War. You're right, but but some of that
got corrected, you know when they attempted to do you know,
remember the people who who were part of the Declaration
of Independence, which is what it was by the South,
(01:40:31):
that they were never able to put them in jail
because what they did they had the constitutional right to
do the problem was that the Union just broke their
will to continue it and won the war. But they
really couldn't. They tried war crimes and it didn't work.
I mean, they couldn't stick because really they didn't do
anything that met the standard. They lost the war, but
(01:40:55):
they had the right to try it. We continue Rick
Burgess show on screen phone calls go.
Speaker 18 (01:40:59):
Ahead, hey man, I listened to the or Cave yesterday
and it said something up speed you having his boy
having ass talt in the drave away.
Speaker 2 (01:41:11):
Yes, sir, I like you said, head up.
Speaker 24 (01:41:15):
If you'll spray you some much, gets you a round
up sprayer with aesel in it, and so get down
with asel fe you and get you a scray and
a pressure wash it the if you come that assphalt,

Speaker 6 (01:41:28):
Okay, all right, sir, I got that lot yesterday I did,

Speaker 21 (01:41:47):
I was just calling to say, think about the salt.
Greg is right, because if you push, it bens the
salt blade. They have to pull the cut.
Speaker 3 (01:41:59):
Mhm, it's that's now.
Speaker 2 (01:42:03):
Look at the teeth see there, just telling.
Speaker 7 (01:42:05):
You gotta do it right. Greg was right, age there.
Speaker 3 (01:42:12):
No, there are brush saws like Greg is talking about,
but that's not what this is.
Speaker 2 (01:42:18):
You had a handsaw.
Speaker 3 (01:42:20):
I had an old school saw that has the teeth
facing so that the cut is on the push. But
I understand that you can push too hard and it
causes problems and it'll bend the saw. That's not what
I was talking about.
Speaker 2 (01:42:30):
You need to take that saw back.
Speaker 3 (01:42:31):
It ain't got The saw is older than I am.
Speaker 2 (01:42:34):

Speaker 5 (01:44:28):
See.
Speaker 3 (01:44:29):
Look at the teeth are pointed away, so that when
you come down with like your body weight, it cuts.
Look at this old old saw. That's what I'm talking about.
The teeth are pointed away. It's it's not a big deal.

Speaker 2 (01:45:47):
I think he said someone presented a presentation that says
creation is, you know, the truth, and the evolutionists had
I'm arrested because the person doesn't have a right to display.
How many different things you can go to museums everywhere
and what do they try to convince you of evolution?
Not not not Mike, but macro. It seems like getting
(01:46:08):
arrested for that's a bit much. Yeah, maybe there's more
to the story. There has to be there.

(01:50:13):
her even in the same sentence With Abraham. Lincoln the,
left they seem to be. There they can't, hide they're.
Crazy it's getting more and more. Bizarre Hunter biden apparently
has been unleashed And boyd he sat down for an,
interview As adler, said we would try to Play we're
(01:50:33):
all going to play some of, it but there's so many.
Beats it sounds like a large truck backing. Up it really.
Does he is probably as a classy Fellow, GRAY i
mean a classy fellow class and he. CLASSY i just
it's hard to unpack everything this train. Wreck but here's
(01:50:54):
when he accidentally starts talking about crack cocaine and explains
how easy it is to, crack to make crack.
Speaker 7 (01:51:01):
Y'all he just won't stop talking About he just keeps.
Speaker 3 (01:51:04):
Going he won't stop talking about.
Speaker 29 (01:51:06):
Crack there's only difference between crack cocaine and cocaine is
studying bypocarbonate and and water and.
Speaker 2 (01:51:14):
Heat literally that's, it.
Speaker 16 (01:51:16):
And those things are pretty much. Free if you go
to like a science, store this is.
Speaker 29 (01:51:20):
Free you can go to a your neighborhood convenience store this.
Speaker 3 (01:51:26):
Morning.
Speaker 29 (01:51:27):
ANYWAY i don't want to tell people how to make
how to make crack, cocaine but it literally is a.
Manage jar cocaine and baking soda definitely is the. Experience it's,
vastly vastly, different and like for, REAL I i feel
really reluctant to kind of have some euphoric. DISCUSSION i
know you're not asking me to do, that but have
some euphoric discussion about crack cocaine seems. Okay, no it's
(01:51:50):
the exact. Opposite i'm, SAYING i don't want to have
the experience of some you.
Speaker 2 (01:51:55):
For A greek.
Speaker 29 (01:51:56):
Call that's how powerful crack cocaine. Is cocaine make you
act any? Differently, no is it shafer than. Alcohol probably
people think of crack as being. Dirty it's the exact.
Opposite were you good?
Speaker 2 (01:52:11):
Night first of, all who's pole with the cap?
Speaker 3 (01:52:13):
On?
Speaker 6 (01:52:13):

Speaker 3 (01:52:21):
News that's the name of the of the.
Speaker 2 (01:52:23):
Show, okay so HE i like when he, Says i'm
not trying to promote crack cocaine while promoting. It, yeah
he just told us that crack cocaine was easy to.
Make M, uh, yeah you don't want to tell. Anybody
but then he, did you can function with no issue with.
It it just makes life. Better. Uh and it's not as
dangerous as, alcohol and it's. CLEAN i, mean, really if
(01:52:48):
the if you took the phrase crack cocaine and put
in a supplement of some, time you would think he
was some endorser influencer talking about a new. Supplement. UH i,
mean if if we didn't know that crack cocaine were
bad words and you just put another word, there it
sounds like he's telling you, know here's something you might
want to. Try and it's, wow you talk about a
(01:53:13):
weirdo and a messed up. Guy it's so he also
which WE i, mean it's it's a long. Interview we
don't have time to get into all of. It but
he was hard to say the. Lead he went on
to go after the Current Democratic, party the elites. There
he went After, obama he went After pelosi at one
(01:53:36):
point said That George clooney is a, brand not an.
Actor went after The. Clintons so so he just went
on a. Tirade and my favorite is he's now trying
to AND i don't know why anyone is even it
doesn't matter. Anymore The i'm not trying to tell The
democrats what to, do just Like Hunter biden's not trying
(01:53:57):
to promote crack. Cocaine but but, you, y'all y'all gotta
y'all better start worrying about what you're gonna do. Now
this thing Of Kamala harris was the Next Abraham, lincoln
And Joe biden was perfectly. Okay we just gave him some.
Ambien and of Course Hunter, biden you, know being an,
addict conveniently and has lied so much he did he
know how to speak any other. Way he conveniently leaves.
(01:54:19):
Out as y'all said in the, Break Joe biden when
he showed us that he had lost his cognitive skills
in the. Debate he didn't just finish a. Trip he
had four days to rest and relax to get ready
for the. Debate that was well, documented and of course
he's claiming that he performed that way because he'd been
traveling all over the blank in the world and they
(01:54:41):
were giving him ambient to help him, sleep and he
came into the, debate you, know coming off ambien blankety
blank blanketly blank blank clicky clickity. Clack so do you
have that part or do you have anything you can
play from that that doesn't have THE f bomb?
Speaker 7 (01:54:56):
Minute here he is kind of just going.
Speaker 3 (01:54:57):

Picture everybody is Putting greg And George strait together and
all THE ai, pictures AND i be honest with, YOU
i can't get enough of. It you sent one out
as to the staff Text rick over the weekend where,
SOMEBODY i mean it's really. ADVANCED i mean they have
like logos behind and. Everything they just take a picture
(01:59:15):
that's out there and then they place somebody in.
Speaker 2 (01:59:17):
IT i can't get enough of. It but HOW ai
in this particular picture on Text, nation how it just
alters you just a little, bit just a little makes
you feel like it's a version of you that would kill. People,
yeah you know it's a version of Little, yeah like
a version of you we should all be concerned. About,
yeah it's not quite, you but the worst it's mostly.

Yeah, YEAH i PULLED i pulled A Rick burgess this past.
Speaker 2 (01:59:40):
Weekend what did you?
Speaker 6 (01:59:41):
Do AND i didn't realize, it BUT i had gone
into the. BACKYARD i guess it Was saturday, morning early,
seven six forty five. Seven the, dogs of, course something
was they were barking or something.
Speaker 2 (01:59:54):
Like, that and what about the?
Speaker 6 (01:59:56):
Dome and, uh And i'm out, There i'm half a,
wait you, Know i'm Just i'm, sleepy just trying to get.
Going and as you get, older you understand What i'm,
saying trying to get your body to start, walking rapping.
Up and AND i noticed one of the dogs was.
Peeing and so sometimes because because one of because of
about the, dogs sometimes you'll chase peace spots with with,
(02:00:19):
water so you'll water it, down so the whole yard.
Speaker 2 (02:00:21):
You'll turn into a. Piece that's when your life's. OVER i.
KNOW i know so as a.
Speaker 6 (02:00:26):
Marker so sometimes you can hear the hose from the
inside turn on the water, pressure you, know you can
hear it kind. Of and SO i come back in
and And terry, said, uh have you been outside like?
That AND i, said what are you talking? About she,
said you're in your? Underwear uh, oh and and AND
i THOUGHT i had shorts. ON i THOUGHT i had
(02:00:47):
short AND i HAD i HAD i had underwear on
standing in my, backyard just watering the. Grass and AND i,
thought the whole, time even If i'm in my short
it was, EARLY i don't think anything briefs uh, yes,
yeah a little tighter THAN i. Wanted, yeah and uh
(02:01:10):
and AND i thought about you because you, you, uh
you pumped a gasoline in your underwear out of gas.
STATIONS i was wearing white, grippies, Right and this wasn't
near as bad in my. MIND i don't think anybody saw,
me because who's up that early anyway looking out the.
Speaker 2 (02:01:23):
Wind we will see you a convenience, STORE i promise you.
Speaker 11 (02:01:25):
That.
Speaker 3 (02:01:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (02:01:26):
Yeah But terry was so embarrassed for, me and And i'm, like.
Speaker 2 (02:01:29):
It's not a big.
Speaker 3 (02:01:30):
Deal she, says what do you?
Speaker 2 (02:01:31):
Mean you're in your underwear water in the? Grass what
are you? Doing you have prompted me to remember something
from the. WEEKEND i did not tell y'all i'd, forgotten
BUT i THINK i tried to protect. Myself, no, speedy
you have just prompted. THAT a nice, job by the,
way making sure that the grass. Survives.
Speaker 3 (02:01:49):
Well, dog you hit.
Speaker 2 (02:01:53):
You if you want to know when the best days
of your life are? Over when that's when that's something
you're out there doing on the day. Off, OKAY i,
THOUGHT i like WHAT I what HAVE i become to
make sure that we don't have a? Piece do you remember?
Me do you remember me telling you from the weekend
when the guy at the pig THOUGHT i was? Retired?
(02:02:13):
Yes do you remember?
Speaker 4 (02:02:14):
That?
Speaker 2 (02:02:14):
Yes so let me go back to that BECAUSE i
left something. Out so we're at the, farm WHICH i
wish we would do, more and i'd like to do
it again this weekend if all. Possible and one of
my favorite things is waking up at the. Farm that's
one of my favorite. Things you get you a cup of,
coffee you roll out to the to the rocking. CHAIR
i toned the, porch not the one that's. Broke you
try to get out there first and get the good.
(02:02:36):
One and you, know are sitting on the little screen
in porch in the, back you, know actually laid back
there on the little, chairs got one of these swinging
slash bed slash seats on. It went to sleep with
a slight swing out, there just looking out over the
pasture and all. That so, anyway but so you're you're
kind of that. MOTIVE i don't want to do anything
(02:02:58):
down here that's that's remotely like an organized regular. Day
so you get up and what do you. Do you just,
grab you, know something that you maybe were walking around
in before you went to bed last. Night put your
gym shorts, on put your t shirt, on get your cap,
on you. Know And sherry, says, up we don't have,
milk and So i'm, like and she was making. Pancakes,
OH i mean this. SMELL i mean there were pancakes available, trainers,
(02:03:25):
Shine i'm working out today. Too, well they were healthy,
PANCAKES i, think somebody. Said so she, SAID i, CAN'T
i gotta have. Milk AND i, said, yeah, Sure i'll
just run the. Pig, so you, Know i'll go to the.
PIG i do you'll know that. Scene that's when the
guy THOUGHT i was. Retiring get, back give her the. Milk, hey,
(02:03:45):
baby you while you working on them, Pancakes i'm on
ease over, here kind of check things, out get my,
coffee walk, around and SO i go over across the
street AND i get over AND i keep. Realizing WHEN
i get ready to open the, Gate i'm, like how come,
ON i thought these shorts had pockets on. THEM i
can't get MY i can't get my. Phone why where
(02:04:08):
are the pockets on? This and THEN i start feeling.
Love i'm, LIKE i, gosh AM i IF i got
two pairs of shorts on? It AND i start kind
of messing around AND i realize my shorts are on inside.
OUT i have gone into the. Pig i've been walking
around hanging out With. Jemison the guy thought you were.
Speaker 7 (02:04:24):
Retired that.
Speaker 2 (02:04:27):
Explains everything, again he, goes this guy's not even trying.
Anyone there's no way he's still functioning in society and.
Contributing he's walking.
Speaker 3 (02:04:37):
Around with his shorts inside. Out you.
Speaker 2 (02:04:40):
Know so if anybody hurt over the, weekend if somebody
saw me drunk at, bigwigg that's why that, LOOK i
can't believe THAT i got the whole. Time, Hey i've
had him on a while. Too i've Been i've been
kicking around and going. Around i've been out and i've
been out amongst the people for this serious. Conversation i'm
not in any, hurry So i'm stopping talking to. PEOPLE
i kept wondering why everybody kept treating me, like you,
(02:05:02):
know are you? Okay, Yeah i'll you've ever seen like
a pair of gym shorts that like have the lining
inside of it and they're on inside? OUT i, mean
you look like a complete, idiot, Right it's pretty. Obvious
there's those. Boggets they're, flopping they're flopping the other.
Speaker 4 (02:05:16):
Way.
Speaker 2 (02:05:16):
Yeah, Look i've got rabbit ears hanging, Around so so
ill no wondering. THOUGHT i now apologize to the guy
who THOUGHT i was retired BECAUSE i did look. Retarded
you are correct hair.
Speaker 3 (02:05:28):
Everywhere i'm, like.

(02:08:05):
sure you didn't notice your. SHORTS i don't know how
to break this to, y'all and it's. TOUGH i love
my wife And i'm pretty sure she loves, me and
she seems, to but she doesn't pay attention to me that.
MUCH i, MEAN i, mean it's like she seems to
be very busy with, stuff very, busy always doing, things
(02:08:30):
AND i think and she will refer to me sometimes
as a, distraction you, Know i'm in the middle of.
Something you are such a. Distraction And i'm, like, well
BUT i. Am and then she'll, go don't be, gross
And i'm, like, okay and, so AND i got that.
Again SO i asked the. QUESTION i, said, Baby i've
had my shorts on inside out for. Hours, now did
(02:08:53):
you not notice? That she, Goes i'm up getting the coffee.
Ready i'm trying to make these. Pancakes i'm not paying

Old she, goes did you get the? Milk that's ALL
(02:09:14):
i care? About and of COURSE i did, you but,
NO i. Don't it's not uncommon that my wife didn't
notice these, things BECAUSE i you, know it's unless it's
like some sort of situation where we go and now
we will spend time, together we'll, talk we'll you, know
which MEANS i listen and we and we you, know
we we're, gonna we're, gonna we're gonna really pay attention
(02:09:36):
to each other as far as like me just rolling
through the. HOUSE i don't Think sherry would know IF
i rode through with nothing. ON i don't think she
would know if she was in the middle of. Something
you know WHAT i? Mean this is making me feel.
Speaker 6 (02:09:48):
Better, yeah this is because you remember WHEN i hit
my face the other day on the on the bricks
and it and it kind of gave me a little
strawberry here CUT i what maybe four days, Later terry
sitting beside, me he, goes what happened to your?
Speaker 2 (02:10:00):

Speaker 3 (02:10:30):
Distract i'll, Distract you'll Distract, Rick you'll DISTRACT i.
Speaker 2 (02:10:35):
Know she says that there's no way for me to
be in the room and not be a. Distraction But
i'll do than talking about. That that's not a.
Speaker 3 (02:10:43):
Compliment so my wife has a phrase that she hoses every. Day,
Hey i'm locking in. Here i'm locking, inky don't leave me.
Alone i'm locking In and that's SO i.
Speaker 2 (02:10:51):
Know what that, means getting the coffee, on getting the you,
know getting the mixed together for the. Pancakes she was
all in that kitchen and she was wide.
Speaker 3 (02:10:58):
Open, Hey i'm locking in, here so she needs leave me.

me going headed to the. Pig she never even noticed
WHAT i had.
Speaker 18 (02:11:08):
On.
Speaker 2 (02:11:08):
Now, yeah the THING i worry about sometimes if somebody
ever kills, me they're going to Ask sherry what. Happens
she's not gonna, know, right you, Know, YEAH i don't.
KNOW i just saw. Him did? You did you get
a look at the? PERSON i Heard rick hollering about?
Speaker 7 (02:11:21):

no idea?
Speaker 3 (02:11:28):
Beard he had a beard on, it, yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:11:30):
And shorts on inside, out rather large fellow. Beard you, know.
Speaker 7 (02:11:34):
He was acting.
Speaker 2 (02:11:35):
GREGARIOUSLY i remember he had a hat on BECAUSE i
kept thinking that sides were sticking out and he needed a.
Haircut those kind of things they.
Speaker 6 (02:11:41):
Noticed, yeah they don't pay attention to to what we're.
Saying BECAUSE i went By terry the other day and
she was doing. SOMETHING i think she was making us
some breakfast, balls AND i, said, Hey i'll be right,
back And i'm gone for twenty twenty five, minutes ran
into town to get, something come, back come back.
Speaker 2 (02:11:57):
In she, said what have you been? Doing LIKE i was?
OUTSIDE i, SAID i ran to the.
Speaker 3 (02:12:01):
Store what do you?
Speaker 6 (02:12:02):
MEAN i, SAID i told YOU i, Was and she
just was a response like, okay.
Speaker 3 (02:12:07):
But she's not.
Speaker 2 (02:12:07):
Listening AND i do that. Too i'm. SURE i want
to ask you this question on the thing that that
we that we've talked about many many, times, okay and
that IS i don't know when it. Happened i've searched
The book Of. GENESIS i can't find, it but apparently Somewhere,
god you, know he made male and he made, female
and he, looked And i've. LOOKED i don't see it in.
Scripture i'll see him say it's not good that man is.
(02:12:29):
Alone i've seen him say you can eat of. Everything
you know that every. Tree don't eat of this. TREE
i see THAT i never see and thou shalt take
out the. Trash you know WHAT i? Mean and this
is not the role of the. WOMAN i don't see
that in. There somehow this. Happened BUT i want to
ask you this question because ANYTIME i, hear, hey the
trash needs go, out And i'll go over. There what's
(02:12:51):
your what's your tempo on getting the new bag? In
do you take it out and tie, it set it
to the, Side, yes you bag? In or do you
go ahead and take it? Out come back putting new.
Back IF i don't put a new bag, in Then
i'll Forget, Okay i'll go. There you'll forget that Quick, yeah,
wow that's.
Speaker 6 (02:13:09):
IMPRESSIVE i take out and then when i'm COME i
come back in the house from taking the garbage, out
immediately put new bags.
Speaker 2 (02:13:17):
In go ahead and get it over. With when you
take it out and go, ahead.
Speaker 7 (02:13:20):
You got then you got your trash sitting? Down if
you've got a, leak or.
Speaker 2 (02:13:23):
Get it out of. There we don't have A do
you put your new bag in? QUICKLY i take too.
Speaker 7 (02:13:28):
Long aaron always has to does?
Speaker 3 (02:13:29):
It that's?
Speaker 2 (02:13:29):
Right that's. WHAT i sure you're donna putt new back.
IN i, said, well let me finish time up the old.
BAG i, MEAN i Mean i'd like to get the
old bag. Out and like you, guys this is. GARBAGE
i thought we'd want this out. Quick.
Speaker 6 (02:13:39):
Right do you know most people put the bag back
in inside?
Speaker 2 (02:13:42):
OUT i know, That, okay trust, Me i've heard about all.
That oh, really do you ever struggle getting the bag in?
Speaker 4 (02:13:49):
There?
Speaker 11 (02:13:50):
Right?
Speaker 2 (02:13:50):
On those kinds of trash cans is what we have
in the. Downstairs and it's the one of those trash
cans where the thing pulls all the way out and
it sits inside a metal closed. Thing, yeah, Yeah AND
i can never get the bag on that. Right what's
the secret on? That you know WHAT i, Mean it's
it's a Separate it's it's got an inside can inside of.
Speaker 6 (02:14:08):
Can just put the top end and then push it.
DOWN i always have. Hangover it never never seems.
Speaker 3 (02:14:14):
Right, no it never works out, right either slipped down in,
there or you got all kinds of hanging out like
a like a sheet in the wind flapping.
Speaker 7 (02:14:22):
Around and then you pick up the bag and THEN
q tips.
Speaker 3 (02:14:25):
Fall, out and then and then and then it's a
nightmare and you're trying to be quiet because the kids are.
Asleep clang.
Speaker 2 (02:14:31):
Clang oh, no here's ruby by the. Way how about?
Speaker 3 (02:14:37):
This, SORRY i got what's that? About if you?
Speaker 2 (02:14:40):
Got if you just got Something amazon and it came
to the door and it's a medium sized, box and
put it in the trash. Can now you filled up
the whole trash. Can, yes let's take it out and
put it in the trash. Can very few. Boxes don't
put that into the Trash now is there a box
in the trash? Can now the trash can is, full
there's nothing but a. Box let's just take the box.
Speaker 7 (02:14:58):
Out especially not a flattened, box just to.
Speaker 2 (02:15:01):
ROLL i JUST i mean the box there it goes
a box last from my whole, boxes AND i let
it build. Up THEN i have a big. Fire, yes
oh you love burning a fire in a. Minute oh
watch you. Go let me tell you better wash your
and a know Burn and That's Greg. Burgess oh, Yeah
i'll push the. Limits he'll push the limit on the
on the burn. Band, yeah BUT i hope we don't
have a draft this.
Speaker 4 (02:15:22):
Year he'll.
Speaker 2 (02:15:22):
Burn i'll give it a chance of that this. Year
by the way we've had the walk wind means it's
nothing to. Me he'll burn in any. Condition, yeah BECAUSE
i feel LIKE i. Can't how long you let a box?
SIT i got a? Rape how long you let a
box sit in the grouch where you burn?
Speaker 4 (02:15:36):
It?
Speaker 2 (02:15:36):
Oh, well LIKE i let it go a walk BECAUSE
i want a big.
Speaker 3 (02:15:38):

Speaker 2 (02:15:43):
Person way at the, hedge just of a.
Speaker 3 (02:15:45):

Uh and we talked about. This so a couple a
couple of items out of the music. World first of,
ALL i know that You, speedy probably the only one
here on the show that may be a fan Of
Lady gaga he Loves i'm not a fan Of lady
you came up with ANY gga fans here in the Boy,
NOW i will say, THIS i think she's extremely, talented
(02:32:36):
but really. Weird yeah, yeah but by what she can,
Say starsborn was pretty. Good you'll go to. That the
only THING i can think of THAT i. Like greg's even, said,
man she is, rear very, talented.
Speaker 3 (02:32:47):
And very, weird, yeah super.
Speaker 2 (02:32:49):
Weird usually her tours get rave, reviews even from the
fans and from even. Critics we have we have fans
saying this tour she's on right, now now, sloppy? Disorganized
is this In? Vegas this? Is this Is?
Speaker 3 (02:33:06):
Vegas, yeah this Is.
Speaker 2 (02:33:07):
Vegas but you would think if you're In vegas and it's,
what is it a?
Speaker 3 (02:33:11):
Residency, yeah she's DOING i think just a few.
Speaker 7 (02:33:14):
Days but she's just a Few, yeah she's doing three
or four nights In.
Speaker 2 (02:33:17):
Vegas you would think you would think that to be
organized and not.
Speaker 3 (02:33:21):
Sloppy she's heading To New York Madison Square garden later
on in the, tour but at the beginning of the,
tour it's seeming like they got a little few wrinkles to. Iron, now,
okay so you're gonna see not only is is the
is she gonna? Slip she's gonna slip. Twice one, time
she's gonna, slip and then she's gonna slip even. Worse
but before, that the camera guy that's following her around
(02:33:42):
to give her to give shots of the you know
in the this camera guy. Falls she reaches up and
almost catches the.
Speaker 2 (02:33:50):
Camera look at.
Speaker 7 (02:33:51):
That and now she's, like, okay you almost, fail.
Speaker 3 (02:33:52):
Buddy let me walk past you and my Wed and then,
again that can't. Happen, oh that can't, happen.
Speaker 2 (02:34:02):
Y'all, oh That's, uh do you think there'll be a?
Meeting is she stepping on her cape or is it just?
Wet it might be.
Speaker 6 (02:34:10):
Wet that cape is dragging the, ground AND i Know
i'm wondering when she, turns she steps on it right?
There and when she, turns does she step on it?
Speaker 2 (02:34:20):
Again double?
Speaker 3 (02:34:21):
Slip that? Is that has to be very embarrassing doing
that in a stadium full of people that are there
to see.
Speaker 6 (02:34:26):
That always everybody has a phone and everybody's got a
camera because most people wouldn't have seen that because it's
kind of you, know she's walking to get.
Speaker 2 (02:34:33):
Up, yeah and there's cameras everywhere, now so you know
what's going to be out. There But i'm with, YOU
i don't think one of those is a big. Deal
but the fact that all three of those things happen
right there, together it does look and now they're. Same
fans are even saying it felt, sloppy it felt. Unorganized
it's like The heaton.
Speaker 16 (02:34:47):
Rehearsed.
Speaker 2 (02:34:48):
Yeah so so, anyway SO i know it's disappointing because
you probably want to see the. Tour But i'm.
Speaker 6 (02:34:53):
Sure you KNOW i Have i'm repeating What greg, says
So i'm pretty in line here that she's very talented
but really.
Speaker 2 (02:35:01):
Weird AND i agree with.
Speaker 18 (02:35:02):
That.
Speaker 2 (02:35:02):

That, yeah And i've heard that one too much, too.
Honestly i'm, sorry, Sorry i'm.
Speaker 2 (02:39:29):
Sorry Billy joel Tells Bill maher he's over being concerned
what woke people think of him at. All interesting Because
billy probably leans to the. LIFT i would, think, yeah, right,
so but he, Says Downtown, Girl, downtown it's uptown unless
the worst song you ever. RELEASED i wish he had
(02:39:49):
never heard a terrible song down tone. GIRL i HATE
i hate the Song Uptown. GIRL i hate. It in
A New jersey state of, MIND i remember that One
New york state of. Mine you're all Over New jersey
state of. Mind That's springsteen all, Right so he says
that he was ON i Did Bill marrier's got that
podcast Now clea hits when they sit down and smoke
(02:40:10):
cigars and all that club club Random. Okay he says
that he doesn't doesn't care about what woke people think
of anything that they disagree with him. On he, said
at this, Point i'm just numb to. It he, SAID
i really don't care if woke people criticize me at.
All it's of no concern of. Mine he said That
(02:40:34):
Bill maher brought up woke outrage while talking About joel
talking to him about his song that came out in
nineteen seventy, Six angry Young, men because he says In
angry Young, man Now i'm, speedy he said in the,
song you, know he, said here's some. LYRICS i BELIEVE
i passed the age of consciousness and righteous. RAGE i
(02:40:55):
found that just surviving was a noble. FIGHT i once
believed in causes. TOO i had my pointless point of,
view and life went on no matter what was wrong or.
Right and he was using that song to, say is
this kind of have you now become this person that
was the angry Young? Man meaning WHEN i was, young you,
know it's kind of the. Thing And i'm not Saying
(02:41:16):
Billy joe's going to the, right but it's the comment
about you, know when you're, younger you, know you think
you're out to save the. World you, know you got
all this emotion and you, know and you got all this.
Heart but then there comes a point where you start
being less led by your heart and more led by
your mind and. Logic and he, said they start talking
about these lyrics and all, this and so So joel
(02:41:39):
said THAT i feel like that this is the. MESSAGE i,
Mean Bill mars, SAYS i feel like the message angry
young man is the message of the. Age even though
some people will hear that and, say look at these
two blankety. Blanks they'll call us, Boomers Billy joel, said
which is now a walking insult to anyone who has any,
sense or you're, older he, Says now all the left
(02:42:01):
is get mad when people won't just declare all the.
Time if you right, now you're not allowed to be
in the. Left if you won't Recite trump is the.
Worst trump is the. Worst and he, said and if
you don't do, that then they come after. You and
of course he, said you know It's Billy joel, Said,
look it's. Okay he, said if somebody thinks that. Way
(02:42:22):
what's not okay is expecting everybody else to think that way.
Too and he, said in this day and, age you're
not allowed to even agree to disagree, anymore which is.
True And Billy joe went on to, said uh to,
say you got to get to the point where you
just don't care of anymore what people say about, you
because if you, do you we know. That and so he,
said he, said people really just want to express. Hatred
(02:42:44):
and he goes and it's like you hate a musician
because he wrote. Something he, Said i'm, SORRY i can't
be concerned about you being upset with me BECAUSE i
once wrote a song you didn't. Like you, know are
the lyrics you didn't? Like any having health? Problems he
is having health. Problems BUT i see what he's talking,
about you. Know he, Said i've just gotten to the age.
NOW i, MEAN i don't have that much life. LEFT
(02:43:04):
i just have to tell everybody to get over. Yourself
if you're upset with. Me at one, time it would bother.
Me i'd even go out there and see IF i
couldn't make you come along to my point of. VIEW
i tell, you What Billy joe was saying is what
hit me at. Sixty i'm no longer going to attempt
to reason with unreasonable, people you, know Because i've gotten
to the point where you somebody have said, something you corrected,
it and you corrected it with, facts or you said
(02:43:26):
this is WHERE i, am just so you, know and
then they give you the same thing. Back at that
point you're, like, well got that over. Here, yeah WELL
i tried, it and we don't hear. Anymore it's like everybody.
Is when you're, like this is what it is right.
Now When i'm shouting at, You i'm just being. People That's.
Betty and you're about to answer WHAT i just shouted.
(02:43:48):
About while you're, Answering i'm not. Listening i'm just thinking
about What i'm gonna say. Next oh, yeah. Yeah so
it's not that you, SPEAK i. Speak you, SPEAK i.
SPEAK i speak while you're. Speaking i'm getting ready to speak,
again not listening to. You i'm just thinking about WHAT
i want to. Say and that's. It and you, know
and and at one time that was just you dealt
with individuals like, that and now you deal with just
(02:44:09):
a whole society like.
Speaker 3 (02:44:09):
That, yeah, yeah you, Know Billy, joel like you, said
did have the health problems that he.
Speaker 7 (02:44:15):
Fell he fell on.
Speaker 3 (02:44:16):

Speaker 3 (03:07:22):

Speaker 2 (03:07:55):
Goods did they cross when you're singing Mister lucky To? No,
okay Unless i'm changing the lyrics to something like, that
that's a Sign i've changed the. Lyrics, yeah he may
just one or two many. Runs, yeah that's a little little.
Speaker 11 (03:08:16):
All.
Speaker 2 (03:08:16):
Right so some some other things that are out there.
Today AND i, Know, greg you want The titans to

titans quarterback Will is It. Levis levis will miss the entire. Season,

Miami From, miami they got the. Nomore was It caleb
cam cam Cam ward Cam? WARD i just said. IT
i literally just said. IT i MEAN i just, said

Speaker 2 (03:09:04):
SICK i?
Speaker 6 (03:09:05):
WAS i was playing my Wife, terry you were?
Speaker 11 (03:09:10):
Me?
Speaker 3 (03:09:11):
Okay AND i did hear. You it's a little.
Speaker 2 (03:09:14):
WEIRD i was so focused on, HIM i didn't hear you.
Well and how many people said That Southwest airlines remember,
LOOK i Remember Southwest airlines all the way back to
you get a number the car and in case they
heard the letters, ONE i mean numbers one through. Whatever come,
on you got there trying to get a good. Number
then they just went to all call you, know cattle call. Vision,
(03:09:35):
uh they're they're they're ditching the decades old open seating
after years of holding. Out they will now do reserve.
Seats they've announced major change coming to the current seating.
Speaker 3 (03:09:47):
System.
Speaker 2 (03:09:48):
Uh they're based of, Course sight Of. Texas they said
they will now allow customers to purchase tickets in different
boarding groups by selecting where they want to sit upon
boarding the, plane so that they are the last airline
to drop open. Seating how you feel about. IT i
(03:10:09):
don't like open, seating so you glad to see it.
Go it's it's just a. CRAPSHOOT i don't like. IT
i don't care for. It it's all about where you
get in the. Line how you feel about. It, yeah
and you Know i've often said too, that AND i
know people have, said they they've studied it and it's
not more, Efficient So i'll drop that if that's. True
(03:10:30):
if you think about there was a time where if
you bought first, class it's a lot different than the
rest of the. Plane, yeah the only thing really different
now is you board after they've let every special group.
Board you finally board first of the of the people
that are just kind of, here you're the first ones.
There your seat is, bigger and they have a basket
(03:10:52):
of snacks that they will let you grab me maybe
one more time than everybody else has to do snack.
Service and that's about. It, okay there's nothing really overly
special about. It SO i started, thinking and we talked about.
THIS i was talking about this with someone just this.
WEEK i know that people, go, well we're trying to
let first class people board. Early you don't board first.
(03:11:14):
Anymore you're bored. Early but what happens is you sit
down and now it's butt. Fest if you're if you're
the row, seat you you literally have toy for everybody else's.
Wet you're sitting there is butt after butt after butt goes,
by you, know and then then every now then you
get people who do a turn to see if you've
(03:11:36):
got any room so they can try to. Stick and
now it's it's crouching the face and you, know and
the kids being Drug you, know, really it would probably
be more peaceful for the people paying more money if
you just, said y'all just go over, there go get
you'll get you a cup of, coffee get your. Snack
we'll get all these people on the, plane and once
(03:11:57):
we're done with the the, slow inefficient cattle, loading then
we're gonna have the plane perfectly, ready and then we're
gonna tell, y'all now get on sitting in your, seats
and when you sit, down we'll have, you you, know
drink a water or a soft drink and some snacks
waiting on. You this thing of getting on, FIRST i
(03:12:17):
know it, feels AND i like the feeling of it
BECAUSE i like to move. On But i've realized first
in that, situation it's more. Claustrophobic you're stuck there waiting
on this inefficient system to go by so. Inefficiently, Uh
And i'm thinking it might be more peaceful to actually
be the last people to get. On everything's, ready, now,
y'all just get. On we're about to leave it's a.
Speaker 7 (03:12:38):
Reward, yeah you GET.
Speaker 2 (03:12:39):
I think that might be. Better, yes straight.
Speaker 7 (03:12:44):
Up airlines needs to do.
Speaker 2 (03:12:45):
That and now when there's chaos going, on you're just
sitting over. Going, now when all that's, over they'll put us.
On when you know when it's time for you to,
go we're about to we're about to back up y'all
the last, ones and we shutting the door when y'all get.
IN i think that's better last h you headlcked.
Speaker 3 (03:13:00):
With that felt like it.
Speaker 2 (03:13:02):
Last on first, off because they're going to have to
come up with reasons for these seats to cost. More
AND i know a lot of people get rewarded and
get to sit, there but still that means they've done
something to be. Rewarded first class is starting to be
a reward or any more expensive ticket that doesn't really
give you all that much a different. Experience you, know
you get off the plane, first that's, Nice SO i
(03:13:23):
why not get on last get off?
Speaker 3 (03:13:25):
First that makes more? SENSE i like. It, yeah and
then you don't deal with what you call a butt.
Speaker 2 (03:13:30):
Fest we think about how many people going By you
realize how many people go by you when you first,
Ones the sitting the seats on the plane other than
the wheelchair people that are never, ready you, know and
then military and then somebody some some other group you,
know and all that's, fine but it's, UH i think
first class should load. Last, YEAH i think that'd be
(03:13:52):
more pleasant sense top of the. Hour i've never on first,
class that's WHAT i haven't. Either, yeah but You're Greg,
no so that's you're the.
Speaker 3 (03:14:06):
Shocker, rick you're the.
Speaker 2 (03:14:07):
Shocker, NO i mean you're butt, fast not really.
Speaker 1 (03:14:10):
Shocking this is The Rick Burgess. Show
