(02:04):
gang all here, Speedy, Greg and Adler. This is our

Some of you been off the whole week, or you're
gonna be off next week. And it starts for you tomorrow.
But you will get a Rick Burgess Show encore presentation tomorrow.
So'll be listening to one of our former shows in
the first seven months of the show and enjoy that.

(02:27):
And today on the program we get you Ready, we'll
talk a little America today. Can you defeat Greg Burgess?
And write again? Watch out, write Again? Another strong topic
for Greg today the Andy Griffith Show. That may be tough.
He's not as savvy there as he is on music,

(02:47):
but he's pretty savvy. Yeah, Dell earnhard and music. I
know much more about. True, this is gonna be a
tough one for me. We'll sit I know a lot,
but there's a lot to know. Real deep we're going.
We're deep diving now. When when we first started, I'm like,
I'm right, whether I am or not? Yeah, well you
got to be. I may thank you off for that,
like I'm wrong, know I'm right, Just you never know

(03:08):
about this little ate. The ways he is got in ah,
got into a bit of a tift with my wife
yesterday involving Greg. Really yeah, well, she kept out, she
kept doubt me on some things, and I said, I'm
telling you I'm right about this, and she of course immediately,
you know, now everybody's got their phone, so they can

(03:30):
they think they can, you know, prove themselves right. Of course,
there were a couple of things I threw out and
she did her background working on and I was right.
And when I said this, I says, this feels big Greg.
She said, what did you say? I said, I guess
must be what it feels like to be Greg. And
she goes, what do you mean? I said, you know

(03:50):
right again, I bet you rolls her eyes of this thing.
Oh yeah. I didn't go out ever, it didn't go great.
When all of a sudden I turned back to ten
and two on the wheel and said, this must be
what it feels like to be great? Right things A
little worried about Andy Griffith. I'm a little worried. Yeah,
well there's some there there there's some stuff out there

(04:13):
that I tried to take it. We got we got
people in the audience that help. Now they'll send stuff
in and they'll do some research too, and and so
they're helping out a little bit too because they're all
thinking of that.

Speaker 4 (04:25):
You know.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
I think now it's become the audience wants to see
if they can throw gregor curve by suggesting questions to
ask and stuff, and they send some good stuff. So
we have that. We got hey birds today, some great emails. Uh,
people wanting us to uh to ponder and discuss a
few topics.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
So we have that that coming out this weekend.

Speaker 6 (04:47):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
No strange encounters, so this is a great time for
you to not a new one, so go catch up
on the ones that you already have. Uh. We did
do a brand new Wednesday Bible study yesterday. So that
is done. And Don Day for two weeks in a row. Gracious,
it's back completely healthy, doing great, probably a lot of
it thanks to Greg's prayers. Uh huh. And he brought
Greg dry roasted peanuts, etc. I need to ask Greg

(05:11):
a question, And I want you to be honest. This
is real talk here, all right, just us be honest.
Let's put it out there. Are you are you happier?
Okay that that Don Day's feeling better like for him
personally as a person, or that you have peanuts here today.
That's the peanuts are a bonus.

Speaker 7 (05:30):
I said, no, it's one of the others. Are you
happy for the man that he feels better? Are you
just happy you have peanuts?

Speaker 2 (05:37):
I want to say this, Don has got an new lease.
He's done away with his pain, and I hope he
just enjoys that and he doesn't have to bring me
any peanuts. You know what I ever forced him in
the first place. But what you're saying is the fact
that his pain is gone probably means he's back to
doing the things he loves and if and one of
them happens bringing me penuts.

Speaker 7 (05:54):
Right, I said, greg you don't like politicians, and you're
sounding like that. Okay, nuts are dying.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
I mean you can't choose between peanuts or done nuts
saying peanuts. I want Done to be in pain again. No,
you're just I think you are just saying I think you.

Speaker 7 (06:12):
Have forgotten about the man Don day and you're just
happy about that.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
Gregor's saying a bag full of peanuts means good news.
Don's doing. When I every time when I go, you
know what this means. It means done. Are you his counsel. Yes,
I'm going peanuts and done, and I see it in
that order, in that order, Adam, have you noticed it?
He doesn't even come to me anymore. Don goes and
puts him on Greg's desk.

Speaker 8 (06:34):
He does.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
Yeah, he didn't even give him anymore.

Speaker 8 (06:36):
Looks worn out too from having to do it.

Speaker 7 (06:39):
I was watching Greg. He was so excited to have him.
It's like he thought they had little legs. You're trying
to eat him so fast and everybody they're not. They're
not going anywhere. But you're a burgess y, yelly fast.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
We do it fast. So also, so Job Chapter twenty,
Job Chapter twenty. That's brand new, so grab that on
the archives. If you didn't get that you yesterday. Will

the Gulf of America going through some of Florida. Yah,
and Hoby was headed down that way and he said
they're already backing up.

Speaker 2 (08:00):

voice you're going to? What is your patriotic voice? Give
us a little of that, honest, Dave, I've got plenty
to say, because they've sent me the script. Okay, my

(08:53):
favorite one. You have to just go with you, though,
dallist and all that my favorites. When I printed out
the script, put it in a folder for a score,
and then the next day they said, oh there's an
adjustment on the script. So we've changed it and printed
just folded. Uh, people can just write it out for you,
the right handwriting Hello everybody and welcome to the American village.

(09:17):
Is that it tonight?

Speaker 9 (09:18):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (09:19):

say it next year, simmy quin Centennial.

Speaker 4 (09:26):
You can do it.

He says, here's what I'm Here's what I Here's what's
right again? Greg Okay, here's what I will say. My
wife knows me it's Rick, but the rest of y'all
know me better is Speeder.

Speaker 9 (09:44):
You know better.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
People worried about chen three day weekend for mister Chan
care about him? When you said that, he looked up like,
oh they forgot he had a fish.

Speaker 8 (09:54):
It's not accurate at all. Yeah, you all want him
to die so you can laugh at me about it.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
End is mister Chance, say happy for did you like you?
Yankee dog?

Speaker 4 (10:04):
He's doing good.

Speaker 7 (10:06):
Give him a little bit more. He's gone out for
the three day weekend. Just fill it up in there?

Speaker 8 (10:10):
What water?

Speaker 10 (10:11):
More water?

Speaker 8 (10:12):
Just when you wave the up in there. That's not
how you You don't know how.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
Just you sprinkle it.

Speaker 7 (10:17):
Up, buddy, Cloudy Greg, He doesn't need to get into
Saturday and be starving going Wednesdayddy coming back.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
Water was so cloudy, It doesn't look cloudy.

Speaker 8 (10:26):

Speaker 2 (11:07):
Those wear are those team colors coming out this weekend. Yeah,
so tomorrow, fourth of July Independence Day, two and forty
nine years ago. This was a true no King's day
when we told King George Kramit and off we went,

(11:29):
so so off to American village tomorrow. You know, you
can go back in time. You can hear from Ben Franklin.
You can hear from George Washington right in the middle
of him, Rick Bird, you can hear from time. Hello, everybody, y'all,
enjoy your day off. I'm good, y'all. Don't worry about me.
I'm fine. I'm fine. I'm perfectly fine. So maybe you
can enjoy it up to about three o'clock. Well right now,

(11:50):
as we all know, when you do what we do,
and a lot of you do it, we're not the
only ones. But anytime you know, your job calls early,
if there's a day that that early call is not there,
that's vacation ended up self. Just not yeah, no alarm
anything after that is you know you're all over there.

Speaker 8 (12:08):
Yeah, every time I wake up in the morning, I
turn off my alarm, but then I turn it right
back on, you know, so it's set for the next
day and I didn't do that this morning, and that
felt great.

Speaker 11 (12:19):
Right, Oh my.

Speaker 7 (12:20):
Goodness, Adler, I turned mine off too, and the backup
I'm like, well, won't need that.

Speaker 8 (12:24):
Yeah, I'll take it.

Speaker 7 (12:28):
How about those mornings you're off and you still wake
up and you get mad at yourself, like go back
to sleep, what I'm up?

Speaker 2 (12:33):
And the like running across the room. I go, wait
a minute, right, so yeah I'm late.

Speaker 8 (12:40):
So I hear you know.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
Here's the opposite. All right, let's do this. Here's the opposite.
When when people who have an early rise have a
day off, everybody always talks about how long you can sleep.
I'm not going to ask that question, okay, I'm going
to ask how late does it have to be before
you say okay? I think I'm okay, I'm we'll get up.
What's too early to get up on your day off?
Let's go the other way. I would like to get

(13:03):
up at eight, Okay, anything pre eight is too early?

Speaker 7 (13:07):
When am I going to bed? That's that's key. Whenever
was it just doesn't matter to me. I'm gonna sleep
that I've tried.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
I mean, I honestly, if I let myself, I think
I could sleep fifteen hours yeah, if I let myself.
That's one of the others though. See, I find myself
angry that I can't stay up longer at the night before.
Oh no, no, that's the fact. Fridays are just ruined
for me. Here's what you just you do the math.

Speaker 7 (13:31):
We've been up for quite some time, and it gets
to be nine thirty on a Friday night, and it's
that's late for us.

Speaker 2 (13:37):
If I go to a ball game or something some reason,
it doesn't affect me. But yeah, you're where you're at. Yeah,
But fact, if you go that late, you've been up
for nineteen hours. Yet, go ahead. If I'm home on
Friday nights, I can't. I can't. Sometimes I party in
step till ten. Watch out, Watch out. Now, So you
go to bed. Let's say you go to bed. Let's
say tonight you go to bed at ten. Okay, what

(13:57):
is too early to get up tomorrow on a day
too early to early?

Speaker 4 (14:00):
Six?

Speaker 7 (14:01):
Yeah, so you you're just gonna be plus seven for
you plus eight probably six thirty or seven. I would
get up because because I've already getting eight and a
half nine hours.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
Sleep minus seven thirty. Really, yeah, if I if I
if I see anything, prior to seven thirty. I won't
get up.

Speaker 7 (14:17):
Yeah, seven anything, seven thirty or after, I'll get up
now now, Adler, we don't have small kids. Sometimes the
alarm is them.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
Do they sleep in? Do they sleep in much on
Saturday mornings? Or are they early rides tomorrow? Are they
going to sleep in?

Speaker 8 (14:30):
Seven o one is the time? Is it that the
kids will get up?

Speaker 4 (14:34):
Yes?

Speaker 8 (14:35):
But I'm actually taking the kids to the grandparents today,
going to Mimi Thor Camp as we call it. Oh, Mimi,
we got Thor and the kids are going to Mimi
Thor Camp.

Speaker 4 (14:49):
Oh.

Speaker 8 (14:50):
Nice, that's gonna be great.

Speaker 12 (14:52):
Uh.

Speaker 8 (14:52):
The wife and I actually booked a little I booked
it a little cabin next to a stream in North Carolina.
What we were nice, we were going to go there. Uh,
and then earlier this week we just canceled it. We said,
that's a five hour drive. We'll add ten hours to
our kid free time if we don't go. So we

(15:15):
just canceled it. We're staying in town.

Speaker 2 (15:18):
You you went vacation and then back to staycation.

Speaker 8 (15:21):
Yes, I think that was a win for me.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
Yeah, yeah, did you did your wife hopefully hope she
brought up canceling it.

Speaker 8 (15:31):
She did, but also because I had not shown her
the place yet, I was going to surprise her, and wow,
she was really disappointed. She said, that's not a cabin,
that's a trailer. And I said, but it is right
next to a beautiful river and she said it's I mean,
it's kind of a I feel like there's some concrete
on either side of that river right there, you know.
So that played into it too.

Speaker 4 (15:52):
So nice.

Speaker 8 (15:55):
I thought it was nice when I booked it like
three months ago. I thought it was really nice.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
I was like, this is gonna be great.

Speaker 8 (16:04):
When you when you first mentioned and everything and two bathrooms,
which is huge.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
Yeah, I mean you first brought it, it sounded awesome.
I thought, Man, great idea. And now you're I'm now
becoming I see now one y'all canceled it.

Speaker 8 (16:17):
We have different standards, I guess because I saw her
face when I showed it to her this weekend and
she was like, that is not as good as I
was hoping it would be. Oh so we ca.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
Yeah, but you did pick up ten hours of not
being in an automobile at home. Let me throw this
that's the deposit.

Speaker 8 (16:35):
But that's that's fine, let.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
Me it's worth it.

Speaker 8 (16:37):
Yeah, that's worth ten hours.

Speaker 2 (16:39):
In the car. Let me let me throw this at
you too. Here's the bad part, and I hate to
side with your wife on this one. But the picture
is always as good as it could possibly look, right, Yeah,
don't look nothing like the picture.

Speaker 4 (16:52):
Now.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
Usually I've gotten places many times I'm like, not quite
as nice as the picture.

Speaker 8 (16:55):
Yes, there was a fire pit overlooking a river, and
she said that it's a stream, not a river or
something like that. Drainage ditch. She might have used the
words drainage ditch. Yes, that's not a cabin, that's a trailer.
I'm like, hey, that's wow.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
So basically, you had you booked a romantic weekend in
the trailer by a drainage ditch.

Speaker 8 (17:15):
That's what she seemed to think.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
Who go to that, right?

Speaker 8 (17:19):
Canceled it?

Speaker 13 (17:19):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (17:20):
Yeah, lost the deposit. But you know, I started doing
the you said that on the drive and the math
on the drive, you know, and if you get there, you.

Speaker 2 (17:29):
Yeah, yeah, right, that's by the way. That's too. Probably
that's a tank of gas. And then Philip again, that's
what I was thinking, gas. Rick.

Speaker 1 (17:37):
Let me ask you this.

Speaker 2 (17:39):
You saw her face when she saw the picture. Imagine
if you would have got there and she stepped up.

Speaker 8 (17:42):
What do you think it's good that I disappointed her
early rather than yeah, alway, you know, and I'm sure
there's no mosquitoes there, right, You know, you got to
think about all that. We're staying home, staycation. I'm sitting
around at the house, probably going to have to clean
the garage. But you know that's okay.

Speaker 2 (17:59):
But when you have little kids, if they're at their
grandparents for any period of time, no matter where you are,
it's a break.

Speaker 4 (18:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (18:06):
Oh oh yes, yes, yeah, Now.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
You got his Franklin and Kevin boarding.

Speaker 8 (18:11):
The dogs kept the boarding.

Speaker 14 (18:13):
Did you like that?

Speaker 8 (18:15):
So yeah, empty house, totally empty house. It's gonna be fantastic.
And and the fireworks issue. Some years the dogs don't
go crazy. Some years the dogs barked every time a
firework goes off. I didn't want to deal with that either.

Speaker 4 (18:31):
So staycation.

Speaker 8 (18:37):
Pant songs.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
I like to say that.

Speaker 8 (18:42):
An empty house, you know, you get it.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (18:49):
Okay, So before we jump back in this is great,
I want to tell you this week is the only
week this happens, never happened before with Blaze TV. Fourth
of July. Now that is truly no King Day, because
that's what it's all about. I mean, we told King
George to go kick rocks. Okay, we reject the idea
and we did remember this war celebrating Hey, monarchy, no elites,

(19:10):
no unaccountable power, thumbs down. We chose and we said,
well do we have to do to be ruled by
we the people? Now that's the spirit behind Independence Day.
But we didn't just break it with England. We built
something better, a constitutional republic grounded in liberty, individual rights
and God given freedom. No kings, no tyrants, just self

(19:32):
governance under the rule of law. Now to celebrate our
independence from the crown and everything that Blaze TV, you know,
also stands for what rejecting mainstream media and them ruling
like tyrants over information. So we're going to do something
we've never done before here at Blaze TV. How about

(19:52):

Speaker 1 (20:51):
In a world that has gone nuts, They are here
to well to point it out. The Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
Thank you America. Still to come right again with Greg Burgess?
Can you win today and get a shot at the
wheel of bundles, bits and bucks. We'll see. Hey, I
want to pass this along. And a lot of you
responded to this. Maybe it's you. Maybe you are like us,

(21:23):
you have aging parents, whatever the case may be. Are
you in need of a step in tub meaning you're
a little concerned either for yourself or for your loved
one or loved ones about stepping over into a traditional tub.
How many stories have we done over the years where
people were injured and injured badly in the bathroom and

(21:44):
a lot of this is tied to tripping and stepping
over into tubs, So that could be resolved with our
friends at Safe Step Walk in Tubs. They're out of
the beautiful state of Tennessee, and if you would love
to talk to them wonderful people, they can trains form
any bathroom from an area of concern to a calming refuge.

(22:05):
And because you are part of our family here, we're
gonna get you sixteen hundred dollars off. Here's the number
to talk to these wonderful people. One eight hundred nine
five six twelve twenty. You can find that number also
at rickburgessshow dot com. Under sponsors, they also will throw

(22:26):
in a free shower package. There's no obligation for the consultation.
Most of the time they can get the bathroom resolved
in one day, So why don't you call them at
one eight hundred ninety five six twelve twenty for that free,
no obligation consultation and then if you're ready to go,
sixteen hundred dollars off in a free shower package and

(22:49):
they'll get that done and you can you can stop
worrying about that, all right. So, do we want to
get into this. I know this is fund Zone, I
know it's three day one weekend. I know we're celebrating America,
but it is a big story and it really kind
of ties in to the new podcasts we're doing strange
encounters about spiritual warfare. So much evil in the world,

(23:14):
and many times this evil is no more complicated than
demonic forces possessing people. Brian Coberger would be in that
group because of just the cold blooded massacre of these
young people and Idaho. If you remember we updated you

(23:37):
a few days ago that the families were caught by
surprise that a plea bargain had been brought to the table,
which means he would not receive the death penalty. He
would get life imprisonment with no chance for parole correct
and no appeals. No appeals for life sentences, so he's

(23:59):
never a yeah. But but the family said, the problem
with that for them is they didn't know about it.
They weren't mainly prepared for that option. This means that
they'll continue to have to relive this. Some of them
felt like that wouldn't there would be no closure whatever.
They still have to deal with this person, even though

(24:20):
they would be in prison. You know, but still dealing
with them. And they just didn't like that this was
not what they thought was going to happen. Yeah, normally
they checked with the families. I think at least asked
their opinion, and uh, one of the families is okay
with it. But I think there's four and you say four,
there's four victims, so four families, Yeah, and one of
them is okay with it. The point is, I think

(24:41):
the fact they didn't ask them the problem. When you
lay you go, look, if he gets the other you're
gonna have to deal with the pills. You're gonna have
to deal with all this. From now, I know, we
can be done with this. He never gets out to closure. Yeah,
and you don't have to come to any appeals.

Speaker 7 (24:56):
And they haven't said some of these life uh these
you know, death sentences. They are prolonged and they have
been mixed up.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
Oh you know, long drawn out. Yeah, nobody, I mean
it'd be twenty years. Yeah, but Rick I was. I
turned on the TV. It just so happened.

Speaker 7 (25:11):
It was in the background just as they went live
and the judge started speaking to everybody.

Speaker 15 (25:16):
Uh.

Speaker 7 (25:16):
And the first thing he did, and Adler has some
of this is. He apologized to the families. He said,
I didn't even know of this deal till Monday afternoon.

Speaker 4 (25:25):
Wow. Wow.

Speaker 8 (25:26):
And then speedy, you also made I thought you were
going to go into what and he was questioning him.

Speaker 2 (25:30):
Oh yeah yeah.

Speaker 7 (25:31):
So then so then it was interesting to see and
all you lawyers and and everything you you've you've.

Speaker 2 (25:37):
You've experienced it. But it's tough.

Speaker 7 (25:39):
It's really interesting to see go into a courtroom and
hear how this plays out. But anytime you're pleading guilty
to anything, you have to make sure that you know, Hey,
do you understand what you're doing?

Speaker 2 (25:52):
Are you are you? Are you mentally okay?

Speaker 7 (25:55):
Have you taken anything like drugs or alcohol that's you know,
impaired your thinking?

Speaker 2 (26:00):
Has your law?

Speaker 7 (26:01):
You're explained to everything to you. Do you understand the
consequences of what you've done? And all the and so
he runs the list of things for probably twenty minutes,
and Coburger is saying yes to this, yes to that.
So then he gets to did you because it was
a felony robbery and four counts of first degree murder,
and he went through and said did you do this?

(26:23):
And then he answers, here it is.

Speaker 16 (26:26):
Did you on November thirteenth, twenty twenty two enter the
residents at one one two two King Road in Moscow, Idaho,
with the intent to commit the felony crime of murder?

Speaker 4 (26:39):
Yes? Did you.

Speaker 16 (26:43):
On November thirteenth, twenty twenty two in Leytah County, State
of Idaho, kill and murder Madison Mogan a human being?

Speaker 4 (26:55):
Yes?

Speaker 16 (26:56):
And did you do that willfully and lawfully, deliberately and
with premeditation and melus forethought?

Speaker 4 (27:02):
Yes?

Speaker 16 (27:04):
Did you, Honor about that same date in Moscow, Idaho,
kill and murder Kaylee Gonzalez a human being?

Speaker 4 (27:12):
Yes?

Speaker 16 (27:13):
And did you do that willfully and lawfully, deliberately and
with premeditation and melicica forethought?

Speaker 4 (27:19):
Yes?

Speaker 16 (27:21):
And did you on that same date in Moscow, Idaho
killing him?

Speaker 8 (27:24):
And so you guys get the idea and wow, so speedy.
You were saying that this kind of puts them in
a situation where he can't appeal and you know what
you did, right kind of deal.

Speaker 7 (27:36):
Yeah, And a lot of the legal analysts were talking
about as bad as this was for the families that
weren't giving the heads up like Greg's talking about, and
that was the big thing with him is they weren't
part of the decision making. They feel like part of
the prosecution's thought process was that you never know what
a jury is going to do, the appeal process, how

(27:57):
it could be drug out to know that he's getting
four life sentences, we'll never see the light of a day,
the day without chance of parole. He cannot appeal that.
They took it knowing that he would go away forever.

Speaker 8 (28:10):
One of the father of Kaylee, he was not happy.

Speaker 2 (28:15):
No, he didn't go in. He stood outside and would
not go in.

Speaker 8 (28:19):
And here he is talking about that.

Speaker 4 (28:22):
That's terrible.

Speaker 8 (28:23):
Do you think four life sentences is justice? No of
court take presidents, take care, you.

Speaker 14 (28:33):
Do what's right, do what you know. I mean, for
if people die in their sleep. You know, if we
have four other people that weren't in college.

Speaker 8 (28:40):
Students, the sweet beat, the death penalty, what do you
want asking about two?

Speaker 14 (28:45):
If Kelly would be.

Speaker 4 (28:46):
Ashamed about what happened to it?

Speaker 7 (28:49):
Now, one thing the judge did say Rick is that
he said that what he's pleading guilty to is the
harshest of the decision of you know, like in other words,
you're getting you you're getting life without a chance of parole.
I can't in sentencing, which is on July twenty third,
I can't be any hard. Other words, I can't go No,

(29:11):
I don't like this. I'm giving you the death penalty.

Speaker 2 (29:13):
He said.

Speaker 7 (29:13):
Now I can, I can ease the burden, but I
can't get I can't make it more severe. And on
July twenty third two the families are going to be
able to speak directly to Coburger and and air their
grievances and let him know what he's done, so that
they're going to at least have a voice to where
they can speak directly to him.

Speaker 2 (29:32):
Yeah, I understand the dad's frustration. I would, I would respectfully,
And I'm not feeling what he's feeling. And I acknowledge
that Daycare is a little somebody like this that did
something this wicked. You know, when you're thrown into prison
with people that are there for you know, arm robbery
or they're there for you know, when when somebody this

(29:54):
wicked comes in killing young people in their sleep, they're
not celebrated, you know, you know they I don't think
he'll have an easy time if he's put, you know,
in the kind of penitentiary he's likely going to life
for him will not it won't be daycare. But and
I think as everybody even text nations saying this to

(30:16):
what you said, Speedy and you guys, this, if they'll
just kind of settle down, probably is going to be
the best shot at closure they have because he has
no way out. Like Ball have said, you throw in
that death penalty in a jury, you don't know what's
going to happen. And I understand the desire for it.

(30:39):
I do, oh yeah, but this is a way that
I don't see many options for him to do anything
other than die in prison. And it's not daycare.

Speaker 7 (30:52):
Yeah, And Dy even said that it could be that
this deal was already on the table and when the
defense kind of exhausted what they felt like, we're like
at one point they were like, no, there was four
there was four people that broke into the house. It
wasn't coburger, you know, when they exhausted all of that
and nothing was was he was working, riding around looking
at stars.

Speaker 2 (31:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (31:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (31:14):
The way they got him is incredible. The DNA, Yeah,
you know, they went through ancestry and all that and
built a tree started out to like cousins and then
they can link him. And then they also had a
surveillance of the make a car that was around the
scene around that time, and they matched he own. Once
they got his name, they matched him that he owned
that type of car. I mean even going back to

(31:35):
like his parents' garbage in Pennsylvania, going through the Garbageeah,
it's some about to tie to his dad. Yeah, what
did he leave at the scene that gave them the
DNA sheath and it had some DNA on it they tried.
That's amazing.

Speaker 8 (31:49):
It's so there's just so much evil and horribleness to
the story. You know, cell phone data put him at
their house several times before this occurred, Is that correct, Beauty.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
Yeah, Yeah, he had a place right across the state line.

Speaker 8 (32:04):
I think he was.

Speaker 2 (32:05):
He was trying to get a PhD in criminal Jeff
watch I'll thing at Washington.

Speaker 7 (32:10):
State and but the cell phone pinging had him in
that neighborhood kind of stick between ten pm and four am,
multiple nights in a row, kind of.

Speaker 8 (32:18):
Stocking stop it out, horrible. Praying for the family.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
Yeah, all right, we'll be back.

Speaker 1 (32:31):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (32:35):
Here we go, America. Thanks for being with us today.
As we work our way through another one. We thank
you for spending time with us. So there's the update
on this horrible Brian Coburger thing. So he has pled
guilty to everything that he did, and people are been
talking about how they figured out it was him. The

(32:56):
motivation we don't know, may never know, but other than
I don't think there would be any motivation that we
would hear on something like this. You go, oh, okay,
well I didn't know that. And so he is going
to get four life sentences. This is as I said before,
this is just evil and demonic and it is killed

(33:18):
still and destroy and knowing that there's people out there
that are this wicked and under those kind of dark forces,
it's it's unnerving every time we get another look at it.
So we will see how that goes going forward. And again,
you know, even on the death sentence, even though we

(33:38):
all would probably prefer that those things drag on forever
and ever and ever, you know, to me, which I
think is cruel and unusual when you let people just
stay there on death row for thirty years. You know,
if it's a death sentence and the appeals are done,
you need to carry it out that process needs to it'

(34:00):
need some work, right, So anyway, so there is that.
So we've given you the update on that and also
as far as just kind of getting you ready going
into this weekend. I see the House did advance Trump's
massive agenda bill. So finally some of those that were,

(34:21):
you know, saying physically, fiscally, I cannot support this, it
looks like they finally gave in.

Speaker 7 (34:28):
Yeah, and they were able to vote to proceed on
to the debate and then the ultimate final vote. But yeah,
two nineteen to two thirteen with one Republican voting no,
and he's a moderate out of Pennsylvania, so they were
able to get what they needed to move forward.

Speaker 2 (34:48):
Yeah. So Mike Johnson said, it is a victory, but
as you just said, the fight is not over. So
they are moving forward to debate it and and then
I guess a final vote coming up. So it did.
It did clear another hurdle, it did, so so there
you go.

Speaker 4 (35:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (35:06):
One thing I don't know if we've mentioned on the
show before though, but I think Trump is trying to
get this done before the fourth Yeah, yeah, so that
he can sign it on the fourth to make a
big deal.

Speaker 7 (35:17):
Yeah, And tonight and help me on this Adler. He's
speaking at a fair ground, I believe somewhere, uh and,
and they were hoping that he could also talk about
that tonight. And so they're thinking that after Hakim Jeffreys,
I think had just has just spoke, and I think, uh,
Mike Johnson's going to next rick uh and and then

(35:38):
then they're hoping that they can go ahead and finalize
everything today.

Speaker 2 (35:41):
So it's official. Okay, Well, we'll see.

Speaker 4 (35:43):
How that goes.

Speaker 7 (35:44):
Because they all want to go home too, because some
of them are home in like for July fourth parades
and stuff, and they want to go back to where
they're from to celebrate the fourth. So they're trying to
get out too.

Speaker 2 (35:54):
So I'm going further back in time. I'm going all
the way back to when this took place at the
American Village. That's all right, some of them might actually
vote and get there tonight. I'm going back. I'm going
back in time. You know, sometimes I think I think
sometimes you know, we're punished for things state fairs. Yeah, uh,
we get punished for things that should have never happened.

(36:16):
And I think we can all agree that there's something
that should have never ever happened, and I think today
it's possible God has spoke to it. What you got
turkey bacon should have never happened. Turkey bacon shouldn't be
a thing. Craft HNDS recalls more than three hundred and
sixty seven thousand pounds of Oscar Meyer turkey bacon. Theysteria.

(36:41):
Oh that's not hey, this is this is big too.
Going into the weekend, a lot of people are going
to get bacon.

Speaker 7 (36:49):
Not turkey, not turkey bacon. I think no one should
get turkey. I understand what they do.

Speaker 2 (36:55):
But they shouldn't. And well, I mean, do you think
God can speak any clear? I mean, three hundred and
sixty seven thousand pounds of it can make a lot,
can make you seriously ill. A lot of bacon.

Speaker 4 (37:06):
You don't.

Speaker 2 (37:07):
You don't do things like this. You don't mess around
with bacon. And when you mess around with bacon, there's
always going to be repercussions. I leave bacon along.

Speaker 7 (37:17):
If made correctly, If somebody had some turkey bacon, could
you taste immediately?

Speaker 2 (37:23):
Would you know immediately?

Speaker 16 (37:24):
Of course?

Speaker 2 (37:24):
You like you're bakon crispy or kind of crispy. There's
a lot of people like it.

Speaker 8 (37:28):
Want to you're a serial killer if you agree.

Speaker 2 (37:31):
I don't know that I would mind crunching, and there's
people that do. It was part of aging for me.
Did you know when I was When I was a
young man, I don't know. Maybe I thought it was sharp, right,
I was just I don't know, I didn't mind, you know,
kind of limp, kind of yeah, cook not over.

Speaker 1 (37:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (37:48):
But but as I have gotten older, it's crispy. I've
even become this cranky old man. I never thought i'd
be him. I never thought i'd be him at a restaurant,
I will say, I like my bacon crispy.

Speaker 4 (38:02):
Say that.

Speaker 2 (38:02):
I'll say it now. I never thought i'd be that guy.

Speaker 14 (38:05):
You have to Well, I got.

Speaker 2 (38:07):
Burned on it, you know. I mean one time they
brought it back to it was still had an onink
sound to it. Yeah, yeah, I don't like when we
used to get breakfast here. Sometimes it'll be perfect, then
sometimes it'd been a little grimmy. Yeah, to hit the microwaps.
Did you think you would ever be the because I
remember these old men, I want my bacon crispy, and
you know, and I do that now.

Speaker 4 (38:27):
We used to laugh.

Speaker 2 (38:29):
We used to stop and get breakfast at work, and
we go in Hearty and there was this old man
that was always in there and he would order, I
want a biscuit. I wanted extra brown. Oh, we saw him.
We go, he comes extra brown. Here comes extra brown,
honey sauce his buscus and I wanted extra brown. Okay,
I never even heard of extra brown. Let me ask
you this and let me finish.

Speaker 7 (38:48):
If and I don't know the help benefits between you know,
the turkey bacon and how much better it is for
you or whatever.

Speaker 2 (38:55):
I don't know, probably shocking to find out, not near
as much.

Speaker 7 (38:58):
As they have that bacon experience with whatever you're eating.
Would you go if if somebody said, hey, this is
this is better for you. This is a like Seawan
for instance, you can have bacon, but only turkey bacon.

Speaker 2 (39:11):
So I'm supposed to get lasteria and be okay with it. Well,
I'm just asking, could you. I don't want to be sick.
I'm not gonna eat bacon, not all turkey Bacon's gonna
make sixty seven pounds of it? That yeah, not that, Okay,
I'm gonna go this far. There's probably more that's not
have you seen have you seen? I agree, you'll see
pork bacon make it on this list. Report bacon can

(39:32):
what does it say? What states? Or is it just
Alabama in the Helena area.

Speaker 4 (39:38):
I'm gonna.

Speaker 2 (39:40):
Y'all, he's kidding. I'm gonna tell you this. I kind
of like the turkey sausage.

Speaker 8 (39:45):
Turkey sausage is good.

Speaker 2 (39:46):
Turkey sausage can be good. I think I can make
you turkey bacon and you would like it.

Speaker 8 (39:52):
So you want me to get I'm just saying.

Speaker 2 (39:54):
I didn't say it was the same. I said I
think he would like it. Okay, so I got to
tolerate it. I think you would like I don't want
to t.

Speaker 1 (40:01):
Is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (40:04):
America Brand new hour dunted anything any from the text
nation based on last hour, I was trying to do
a little better. Once I used turkey sausage for sausage balls.
It was the worst decision of my life from North Carolina,
good night. Who would make that decision? Just don't do

(40:26):
sausage balls.

Speaker 4 (40:27):
Good grief?

Speaker 2 (40:28):
Lord, that's disrespect help us, that's that's that's shocking. That'd
be one of them. You'd bite and go something' right,
shocking there's a time and the place, guys, there is
uh so, so we're talking about fourth of July tomorrow.
I've also well, I know, I know the situation we're

(40:50):
all in. There's things. You know. Adler's whole plan he
had for the weekend has been changed and now he's
going to do a staycation, which to me is one
of the greatest things we all get to do. Well done,
Greg looks like he's been cleared for a beautiful landing
to do whatever I want to do, whatever he wants.
You know, this is one of those things. I don't mean,
you've had a great time with your grandkids, so it's

(41:12):
not like you see them a lot. But this is
sometimes the beauty if I can just handle this with care.
I know our wives don't see it this way, no,
but this is kind of the beauty of kids when
they get married, you know. I know everybody's always talks
about the well, now you've got to start organizing, you know,

(41:32):
have they married into another family? But sometimes that other
family can make your day. Oh, are y'all doing something
with her her family or his family? Okay, and see, well,
you know what, y'all have a great time. You know,
I guess I guess Mom and I will just do nothing.
And I guess we'll just do whatever we want to
do and not host some biggest stravaganza. I guess we'll

(41:53):
just enjoy this. But y'all, you know, we wish y'all
could be with us, but we understand that you need
to spend time with them as well. And see, we
love them and they love y'all, little miss.

Speaker 4 (42:05):
But uh, but the.

Speaker 2 (42:08):
Yeah, and so I guess I'll just get up, you know,
with my hair all over my head and a pair
of gym shorts and drink coffee.

Speaker 8 (42:14):
Yeah, look out the look out the window, looking at
a couple of trees, maybe even a.

Speaker 2 (42:19):
Bird, and call my doctor and say come take my
blood pressure right now.

Speaker 4 (42:22):
You love it. Yeah, but we'll have my.

Speaker 2 (42:26):
Birthday a couple. We know this is your month, Greg,
which sure celebrate money. We got no no, no, but
what I'm saying, So we'll have a family gathered guide
it whatever you know, set Greg, you don't have to
tell me you you you interact with your family a lot.
You're a heck of a guy. Okay, you deserve a

(42:46):
weekend to yourself, Adler, you do as well. And see
you know what, you don't have in laws yet, but
you got grandparents.

Speaker 17 (42:53):
You know.

Speaker 2 (42:53):
Oh, y'all want to care. We want the kids to
come over. We'll miss them, but I know y'all don't
get so much time with them. So great, and that'll
give us some time to get some things done around
the house, speedy, Are you hosting a big gathering?

Speaker 1 (43:05):
Kyley?

Speaker 10 (43:06):
Are you?

Speaker 8 (43:06):
I thought I thought I had it.

Speaker 2 (43:08):
I thought I had it. I thought I had it.

Speaker 7 (43:10):
Where it was just we were chilling, you were going,
there was there was Jay c was going out of town,
Reese had something going on, Tyler with the in laws,
all this kind of stuff. Then Terry starts this thing
about two days ago. Hey, we'd love to have everybody
over on the family group. We'd love to have everybody over.
We're thinking about grilling.

Speaker 2 (43:30):
Blah blah blah blah blah. Thinking about grilling, which means
you'll be grilling. Yeah, it'll be a thousand degrees. Did
lots of food? And then and your wifele stress over
everything being in order for before they get there.

Speaker 8 (43:40):
Right, did she talk to you about that before she
sent out that text?

Speaker 7 (43:44):
She well, a lot of times, And I don't know
about your wives love her, love my wife some much
so much. But sometimes she'll make a passing comment and
then claim we talked about it.

Speaker 2 (43:54):
Oh yeah, I love if y'all do that.

Speaker 8 (43:56):
Hello, you know, hey, you know it'd be nice to
have everybody over on fourth of July.

Speaker 7 (43:59):
Oh really yeah okay, And then we just move on,
and then she invites me and go, well, we talked about.

Speaker 8 (44:04):
You said yeah okay. You said yeah okay. Okay means okay,
let you're okay, be okay. Well that's it says in
the Bible.

Speaker 2 (44:12):
Right, Well that of course, that's of course the message.

Speaker 7 (44:15):
Yeah right, yeah I did yeah, yeah, like, oh yeah,
that's a good idea, like, but I didn't think, you know,
there was nothing planned. So she sends something out and
then JC is not now going out of town, Reese
uh is off from work, and Tyler and Maybury and
River coming up.

Speaker 2 (44:33):
So now everybody's coming over and it will be fun.
I'll give you that, but now here's the added pressure.

Speaker 7 (44:39):
I don't know about you guys, but my boys have
never been into silly family games and board games. And
and for those of you that like board games, I
don't mean to call them silly, but we've never really
we've tried it, and we cannot pull them off. I
don't know why, but we just they get disinterested or whatever.
The kids used to get to fight, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (44:59):
And so tear.

Speaker 7 (45:00):
It's like, we need to come up with some fun
things to do. Now, what about some patriotic charades or something?

Speaker 18 (45:05):
You know?

Speaker 2 (45:06):
Oh so now it's camp. It's camp. Yeah. I'm like,
and I'm thinking they they don't want to do that,
they do, you know? I agree? Patriotic charade Franklin, Ben Franklin. Right,
let's let's get out the corn hole my you know
corn hole? Yeah, perfect, listen, Rick's in charge of getting

(45:30):
the fireworks. It'll be like on Joiel Dirt the guy
just stole sparklers and because they didn't want the expensive stuff,
of course, then.

Speaker 7 (45:38):
The US, then the boys making some drop dropping it
does the boys channeling Greg then start messing with mom,
All right, do we need to bring anything?

Speaker 2 (45:49):
Then one of them starting, I'll bring the beer, you know,
all this kind of stuff, and then you got it.

Speaker 1 (45:53):
I'll tell you what.

Speaker 2 (45:54):
She puts enough on you you'll be wishing they would. Yeah,
you red the country song. You're the reason Daddy drinks.

Speaker 13 (46:01):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (46:02):
Uh yeah.

Speaker 7 (46:03):
So it's like I'm not doing the horseshoes, not doing it,
you know, I don't have that. Only feel like doing
all that corn hole corn hole.

Speaker 8 (46:11):
We have cornhole.

Speaker 2 (46:12):
We can pull the corn hole out. That's fine, that'll
last far to say, fun to play? Yeah yeah, and
so we uh yeah see I thought there might be
you know, my kids actually thinking we could just go
get the boys and play some golf there. Yeah, the
I would enjoy that. Yeah, so yeah, yeah, that's a
bad idea. I noticed two of mine put together their

(46:32):
own little time ownt the farm while we were in
New York, and so I thought, okay, well they got
to go check you know, so there's not everybody wants
to go. Where were we being just there last? And
then of course I've got baking village, you do. I'm
the I'm the one, only one of the four that's
working tomorrow, and so uh so i'll uh, I'll be

(46:54):
doing that.

Speaker 7 (46:55):
And and two when I'm gonna care because when I
didn't say that, because because when I had you, when
I had six weekends, uh with the stallions, you cared
probably the most.

Speaker 2 (47:07):
You check in with me because you know, I mean,
I care.

Speaker 4 (47:11):
That right there.

Speaker 2 (47:12):
You forgot, You forgot. This is a little bit well,
I think of it. I would care. No, no, this
is a little bit local. This is a little bit local.
A lot of you around the country will not get
this reference, but everybody in here will. Greg can care
about you. Right up the riverside, when he goes over Logan.

Speaker 4 (47:27):
Martin, you are out of his loss.

Speaker 2 (47:29):
He's going, you're going. When he goes over that bridge,
you're out of his life. It's almost like he gets
out and puts his phone on the bridge and then.

Speaker 4 (47:37):
Like pick it up.

Speaker 8 (47:39):
Yeah, yeah, And then on the way back.

Speaker 2 (47:43):
To work he stops and picks it up, and you
try to you try to talk to him before riverside,
but you can't because he's talking to my mom right right,
Yes you won't click over right, click over, Greg, you
talked to her enough.

Speaker 7 (47:56):
But but no, you know what, We're going to celebrate
family tomorrow. We're gonna have good time.

Speaker 2 (48:00):
And you almost sound like you meant that we did.
We have a family, And so that's where my mom said,
we have a family. We have a family, and we're
we're going to have a good time and celebrate independence.
You know, I like Rick his work ethic on this
top of I'll tell you what. I'm gonna ahead and
start working on some Christmas tree lightings and if you

(48:21):
can come host a few of them around Christmas.

Speaker 8 (48:23):
Impressed with what you've done, Rick, you're so patriotic.

Speaker 2 (48:25):
You have one red eye.

Speaker 8 (48:27):
I know that what happened in red, white and blue?

Speaker 2 (48:30):
Did you get a red eye for for that? Or
that was that thing yesterday? It was one of those
things yesterday where you know, sometimes these blood vessels will
burst in your eye, and of course in the past
I was always told that's probably tied to blood pressure.
But I went home and checked my blood pressure and
it's fine. So I don't know why this blood vessel
on my eye burst yesterday. But just one of those

(48:52):
says you're having dinner whatever else you your wife and
that always freak out. Did you know what's wrong with
your eye? When? Did you do anything? It was like, yeah, straight,
put your body in stress down lot. Maybe probably sneeze. No, maybe,
I don't know. I know you having to carry around
Gregg yet a lot.

Speaker 8 (49:07):
Do you rub your eyes real hard?

Speaker 2 (49:09):
I don't know. Sometimes we do things when we sleep
real hard, Like you know, you try to hold it in,
It's fine. You didn't want to be like Yeah, in
your years, Bob, a burst blood vessel in your eye
looked so horrible. And if you ever don't feel it,
have you ever noticed no one ever believes you when
you go, I don't feel anything, I'm fine. Yeah, And

(49:30):
then I remember one time you sure got so worried
about it. I went to thy doctor and you know
what that doctor said, Yeah, one deal, is it hurting now?
Can you see yep? All right, it'll it'll fix itself.

Speaker 8 (49:42):
You know, Well you just kidding about once every couple
of years, you sorright?

Speaker 2 (49:46):
Uh, well, at one time it would happen more. And
I think there was some blood pressure involved because I
had a high blood pressure run but you know, since
I started doing better and all that, my blood pressure
is fine. So I even SA even said you stressed
or so, I said, I'm good. I think you keep
you keep on to asking about this. I'm on to yeah, right,
they keep changing copy of the American Village. I'm like,

(50:07):
right and just and just yeah, And I did sneeze
on the show yesterday. You're right, that's right, because I
had a little bit of egg run up in my
in my nasel.

Speaker 8 (50:16):
Yeah, that's right, that's right right there.

Speaker 7 (50:18):
Man might clear up, though sometimes they go away pretty quick.

Speaker 14 (50:23):
Clear.

Speaker 2 (50:25):
I'm talking about before tomorrow night. You think it'll clear up.

Speaker 8 (50:28):
Probably be scaring children.

Speaker 2 (50:29):
He'll be scaring probably Saturday Sunday. It'll Yeah. So when
I go to the farmers market on Saturday morning when I.

Speaker 1 (50:36):
Thought I was from what this is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (50:41):

you uh are gonna be traveling for the fourth you
will have an encore presentation of the show tomorrow. I

It's just a random mattress on some showroom floor that
they go, yeah, this aught to work for you, to
try this. They don't know anything about you. Have they
given you a sleep quiz to find out how you sleep?

(51:47):
They don't ask that. But at Helix, sleep dot Com, Slash,
big Vox, Greg Burgess and legally they sleep on one
every night. That's right, I'll sleep in this more than
that clock one. You'll sleep late tomorrow, won't you both?

Speaker 19 (51:58):

Speaker 2 (51:58):
I'm looking forward to that. You and o Helix some

you take the sleep quiz? Just taket a couple of minutes.
They will know how you sleep, what position you sleep on?
Your side, your back, your stomach. Do you like your
mattress to be soft? Do you like it to be medium?

Are you big and tall? Is it for a child?
They take all that in consideration and they send you

(52:20):

then I thought, well, the rest of the weekend, I
really don't have anything. I do need to teach Sunday
school on Sunday this week. Not a big deal there.
Work on that a little bit, get that ready, enjoy that.
And then I'm told by Sherry that that we're going

(53:01):
to go with my son and his wife to the
farmers market on Saturday morning. Why I'll be fine, the one,
the one close to here, that's you mean that market.
You've been talking about how excited you were that you're
gonna get to go. Well, I'm most excited about it
because it's only going to be humid in ninety four
So so anyway place or you're going there? Oh, sure,

(53:24):
you're excited. Cherry loves the farmer's market, and it's it's
a nice farmer's market. What I love market. What I
love about it is not crowded and so parking is
not a problem. So it'll be I'll go from one
crowded place to another one. Okay, at least you got
your walking in in New York, so you're ready. It'll
be fine, and we'll do more. We'll go there and
we'll see. We'll see things that are readily available at

(53:46):
the grocery store.

Speaker 4 (53:48):
But not like not like that, not the same.

Speaker 8 (53:51):
From the farm to love the farmer, from the farmer
to me, farm to table.

Speaker 2 (53:56):
Looking forward to it. You know, I'll try the various lemonades.
Might say, hey, we we we we picked these yesterday afternoon,
and here they are. I love the farmer's market, so
we'll enjoy that. Just embrace it.

Speaker 1 (54:07):
Oh I love it.

Speaker 2 (54:09):
I can't get enough of it. I've already I told
shery again, this is another opportunity for me to be
shirtless and overalls, and she keeps shooting that, oh yeah,
check check this baby out here. M hm. Well, well, well,

(54:31):
apparently we have a local celebrity on our hands. And
her name is Vicky. This is a new VICKI this
is This is Vicky that called the show yesterday and
asked us to help her and pray for her because
she's going to Scotland. And she said, I'm a big lady.

Speaker 4 (54:49):
She said that.

Speaker 2 (54:50):
She said that. We did not uh, and we start
thinking that, you know, maybe this could be the next
quest for Speedy help Vicky get ready for her trip
to Scotland. Well, I didn't know what we were unearthing here, folks,
Hey bird, hey, burge, this comes from Gerald. Vicky is

(55:10):
from a rab. As she said on the show, this
is my wife's youngest sister. So I've been living that
crazy for a long time now. She is the genuine article, Greg.
You may not know it, but she is a huge
deal in our community. Oh, Vicky was Citizen of the Year.

Speaker 4 (55:31):
What speed?

Speaker 2 (55:32):
He was too, a guest humor columnist for the Arab
Tribune hang on Now, and a locally well known philanthropist,
meaning that she's very kind in general. How about that
her husband is the worship leader of the church, a
bone cancer survivor and retired Army Master sergeant. Make fun

(55:54):
of that, Greg, Why would I make fun of it?
Because this year, Greg, I would be do greg hang on.
I would be doing you a disservice to not tell
you about her son, who runs a road painting crew
and spends much of his life dying from the embarrassment
at his mother's antics. But the two of them together
is like watching a comedy routine. By the way, in

(56:15):
the family, she's known as Goosey Goosey. If Speedy spends
time with her, you can expect lots of radio gold.
By the way, one more tidbit on VICKI from a
rap and you're not ready for this, watch Adler's reaction
to this one One more tidbit. There's a reason she's
going to Scotland. This isn't random. Oh, she's a descendant

(56:38):
of William Wallace. She's going to see uncle Williams. I
guess so respectfully. You know they might take your life,
but they won't take your freedom.

Speaker 20 (56:49):
Right.

Speaker 2 (56:49):
That's right. Many all men must die, but not all
men truly live. And when you're an old man one
day and you're lying there in your bed thinking about it,
you remember his speech. His face was blue. By the way,
this comes from Gerald, who also served us. Thank you
for your service as a major in the US Army. Awesome, Well,
thank you for retiring. I think we need to start

(57:10):
referred to as Goosey. So Goosey community legend. Goosey quits
as well known in the community and a direct descendant
of William Wallace.

Speaker 7 (57:21):
Well, I will tell you this. I did get an
email from Goosey yesterday.

Speaker 2 (57:25):
Did you really okay? She said, I am, I am,
I am Vicky.

Speaker 8 (57:29):
This is this is me, this is I called.

Speaker 7 (57:32):
She sent up a headshot as well, because I had
requested that, just so I know what I'm up against.

Speaker 2 (57:39):
Sure, have you got nothing yet?

Speaker 4 (57:42):
Do you do have it?

Speaker 14 (57:43):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (57:43):
Yeah, you got you got some work ahead of you.

Speaker 7 (57:46):
Oh no, I mean it's a very very nice picture.
You know, she's dressed up, got her hair like she
likes it. Okay, you tell about Goosey.

Speaker 1 (57:54):
This is the Rick Burgess show.

Speaker 2 (57:57):
Oh, somebody send us a picture on text nation of
the Wallace Memorial in Scotland. Nice, Adam. I so see
you in Scotland. I've been Yeah, I need you back, Yeah, yeah,
I need I can see you there back then, I
really can't. So I want to warn Adler. I want

(58:19):
to warn Greg and I've received a warning myself. These
kinds of lists infuriate us, and that's why that's why
I want to do it here. Okay, I want to
hear the commentary to bring it on to celebrate America.
Of course, there's all kinds of lists that get out eldering.
This time Speedy ironically will now weigh in on the music. Well,

(58:42):
I'm going to present it. He's going to present it
to us. What is this because it's called show prep.
But you know your subject and you're you're not allowed. Well,
here's the thing.

Speaker 7 (58:52):
I feel like, if I can present everything, I just
sit back and hear y'all's commentary on it.

Speaker 2 (58:56):
But Rick was the one that accused you not know it.
I thought you, I don't know a lot of the
history behind me.

Speaker 4 (59:02):
I know you.

Speaker 2 (59:03):
That's why I enjoy I really do. I'm not kidding.

Speaker 7 (59:06):
I'm looking forward to this because I love the discussion
of different bands and music and and all that.

Speaker 2 (59:13):
I love to hear it because I learned a lot
from y'all.

Speaker 4 (59:15):
I really do.

Speaker 2 (59:16):
Right, Yeah, I feel the same way about baseball when
you teach me maballs where he's at.

Speaker 7 (59:24):
But staying with the American theme, since Independence Days this
week and we're all thinking about it. It's going to
be American village hosting the fireworks show, even though the
local media is not talking about it. I'll be there
with my own people, our friends at Ultimate Classic Rock

(59:45):
dot Com ultimately put together what they say is the
top fifty American bands.

Speaker 2 (59:52):
Crucial. We've got a lot of bands that aren't American.

Speaker 7 (59:54):
And they say this was probably the toughest list they've
ever had to put together because you know, genres have
gone through different stages. You've got the different evolutions of
like you had your fault time, your your garage, your pump,
your metal, all this and all that, and so they
say through history it's you know, we've had a lot

(01:00:16):
of changes. But do y'all believe this? They say that
rock and roll inherently is an American creation, though even
though those are the UK will argue they.

Speaker 2 (01:00:25):
Feel like it's no doubt, no, no, no no, because
if you ask the people like the Beatles and all
of them, they would say.

Speaker 8 (01:00:30):
Chuck Berry, right, they stole from them.

Speaker 2 (01:00:34):
Yeah, Mainly rock and roll came from our American black culture. Yeah, right,
that's where it came from.

Speaker 8 (01:00:43):
Now.

Speaker 7 (01:00:43):
They they did say that they have put together here
at ultimate classic rock dot com American bands like of
the sixties, seventies, eighties, and nineties. But they decided to
tackle a master list just of putting them all together,
and you're in the top fifty.

Speaker 2 (01:00:57):
American rock bands of all time. I'm gonna hate that now.

Speaker 8 (01:01:00):
They did.

Speaker 7 (01:01:01):
They did exclude solo acts, so that's why you're not
going to hear a Bruce Springstein or a Billy Joel
or Prince or whatever. They also left out bands that
have foreign members, even if they're predominantly American.

Speaker 2 (01:01:14):
Oh really, yes, keep them out. Yeah, so we don't
consider Bruce Springsteen in the East Street Band an American.
He did.

Speaker 7 (01:01:22):
They're just saying, because they consider Bruce, you are defending
Bruce because you want Sieger in Rick I know what
you're doing.

Speaker 2 (01:01:32):
And the Silver Bullets, Tom Petty and Yes.

Speaker 7 (01:01:39):
Band just telling you what they said. They use Bruce
Springsteen not being on the list as the reason because
it's it's.

Speaker 2 (01:01:47):
The Street band. They just said, hey, you're out, pretty
good band to throw out. I will say this, they
were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
as a separate from Bruce. Really, and I may be wrong,
but I don't think I am, and y'all know how
that goes. Right by the way. Coming up on the
program today, another round of right Again with Greg So

(01:02:07):
I love it. Our topic today, Andy Griffith, So.

Speaker 7 (01:02:11):
In the top fifty all time American bands list. In
an effort not to give you too many, I'll just
go ten to one and then y'all that's all y'all
can ask.

Speaker 12 (01:02:19):
Why in it?

Speaker 2 (01:02:21):
Coming in at number ten, Simon and Garfunk, Oh my goodness,
I'm sorry. What's ado? Oh my gosh, I'm sorry.

Speaker 4 (01:02:30):
We're off.

Speaker 2 (01:02:31):
We're off. But Simon and Garfunk band, Oh, we're already fighting.

Speaker 4 (01:02:37):
That's a yes.

Speaker 8 (01:02:39):
Coming in at number nine. Eagles, okay, at nine at night.

Speaker 2 (01:02:43):
That's low. That's low. But I will say I love it.
They're definitely top ten. I agree, we do Greg, their
top five, top eight. Just you look at his face
when I do this, Just stare at him. Coming in
at number eight.

Speaker 3 (01:02:56):
R E M.

Speaker 2 (01:02:57):
I'm shutting the show down. That's it. Never mind, we're done.
Mind off.

Speaker 8 (01:03:02):
Start of all time.

Speaker 4 (01:03:05):
This is a bat.

Speaker 21 (01:03:06):
You put R E M ahead of the Eagles.

Speaker 2 (01:03:10):
Did that just happen? What are they even doing near
the top the song stand should have them thrown out
of the whole thing.

Speaker 4 (01:03:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:03:18):
If I could take the entire library of R. E.
M And use it to start a fire this weekend,
I would. Yeah. Not only are in the top ten,
they're ahead of the Eagles. Unbelievable. Come out Ultimate.

Speaker 7 (01:03:31):
Classerrock dot Com Top fifty American Bands of all Time
at number seven, Talking Heads unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (01:03:37):
It's not a band, I mean, I know, I mean
Torture a band, but it's like almost it's a weird
art show. I mean, I mean, I'm in torture right now.
I mean torture. Never forget. It's a mix of art
rock and new wave.

Speaker 8 (01:03:50):
The first Talking Heads Yeah whatever. But the first time
I ever saw it on this list, listen on this list.

Speaker 2 (01:03:55):
They came out when MTV first came out and they
had that video you Medveungeozu living in the Good That
was the weirdest, big over not rocking song but rock.

Speaker 9 (01:04:08):
Well.

Speaker 2 (01:04:09):
I know, if I don't have an opinion, no you can't.
If I don't hear the Almond Brothers and Skinnered pretty soon,
I'm gonna come on glued here. Somebody thank you.

Speaker 7 (01:04:21):
Coming in at number six of the all time top
fifty American bands.

Speaker 2 (01:04:26):
Tell me six the Doors. I don't like the Doors,
but I guess I could see them because of So
that's the thing. Is this about who I like or
who I don't like? If it's not and I'm trying to,
you know, step back and look, I guess they should
be in it because of not really they suck.

Speaker 8 (01:04:42):
I love how you're talking about trying to talk about doors.
They're overrated. I like the Doors. They're overrated.

Speaker 2 (01:04:48):
I thought the Doors were not from America. Number five,
I was surprised to Aerosmith know that they ship are
definitely there. That's why I'm fine with that. I can
live with that. Number four c c R. Yeah, Creative
Revival must yes.

Speaker 4 (01:05:04):
All right.

Speaker 8 (01:05:04):
Number three Van Halen, Yeah, I'm good. All right, we're
getting better.

Speaker 2 (01:05:11):
With Sammy or it's a great question.

Speaker 7 (01:05:15):
It's here original singer David Lee Roth and also says
Sammy Hagar. Okay, So I guess they're just saying it
all together. Yeah, that's a good man.

Speaker 2 (01:05:24):
Number two Tom Petty and the Heartbreaker but didn't include
d street Man. How can Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
be considered a band? But Bruce bringes.

Speaker 12 (01:05:34):
I guess.

Speaker 2 (01:05:37):
He went off on his own, right did he?

Speaker 20 (01:05:38):
Did he have?

Speaker 3 (01:05:40):
I know?

Speaker 2 (01:05:41):
But this is this is Tom Petty and the.

Speaker 7 (01:05:42):
Heartbreak the time did cut a solo records? Yeah, maybe
that's what he's saying.

Speaker 2 (01:05:46):
Well, couldn't they do? Tom? Tom did two spellow record?

Speaker 20 (01:05:49):
He did?

Speaker 2 (01:05:50):
But are you ready?

Speaker 8 (01:05:51):
This is a hypocritical list, Adler.

Speaker 2 (01:05:53):
I don't want to get you in trouble, but give
me my channel if you don't mind.

Speaker 7 (01:05:57):
Number one, uh, the number one, uh, all time, all time,
best all American band is.

Speaker 2 (01:06:09):
The Beach Boys. Oh my gosh, good lord, that's it.

Speaker 21 (01:06:16):
Rick left.

Speaker 2 (01:06:18):
Just left.

Speaker 4 (01:06:20):
Rick just.

Speaker 21 (01:06:22):
Falls off and walked across the road.

Speaker 2 (01:06:24):
I don't think they should Well, wow, do y'all realize what?

Speaker 7 (01:06:31):
Just what?

Speaker 3 (01:06:32):
What?

Speaker 2 (01:06:32):
What we're saying here? We're saying the Beach Boys are
the best American band ever. I'll take them over of
all time.

Speaker 8 (01:06:40):
They're better than R. E. M. But they're not the
number one.

Speaker 2 (01:06:43):
We're saying that they're they're eight slots better than the Eagles.

Speaker 8 (01:06:48):
That that's crazy talk.

Speaker 2 (01:06:49):
They're better than Tom Pitty and the Heartbreakers.

Speaker 8 (01:06:52):
Well, the Doobie Brothers even on here to fifth.

Speaker 7 (01:06:55):
Let me just say that they went through critical acclaim
as can in commercial sales, longevity of the band, uh,
popularity of the group.

Speaker 8 (01:07:06):
Uh, you know, all this kind of stuff was was
factored in R. E. M in Alman Brothers not right?
Where's Metallica?

Speaker 2 (01:07:14):
Where Skinner? Skinner that wrote Sweed Home Alabama ain't even
into deb Dean.

Speaker 7 (01:07:22):
Uh it's zz talk, Okay, all right, I'll tell y'all,
all right, number let's see here, of course. Yeah, so
number twenty five was kiss if You Go by Alice
Cooper at the band at number twenty four. Uh, let's
see some other note, Grateful Dad at twenty two, Over
the Cars twenty one, Leonard Skinner twenty.

Speaker 2 (01:07:45):
Oh my god, I think Skinner should be about. Simon
and Garfunkel is number ten and Lenard is twenty. Simon
and Garfunkels shouldn't even be around. I don't like r EM,
but they are a band, okay, Garfuncle mate George Strait
look like he's putting on the garth Brook Beach Boys
number one, The dog On Beach Boys Surfing USA number one,
number one. We don't even let Springsteen in the East

(01:08:07):
Street man in I would be okay with doing his
solo over here like they did with Tom Petty and
his band here. He and his band are a band
and he needs in and they were I'm not even
I'm not I don't even like him as much as
Tom Petty, but he should be in Grand Funk literally
are called an American band.

Speaker 7 (01:08:25):
The Birds at nineteen, ZZ Top at eighteen, Guns and
Roses seventeen. Oh they should be talking to Metallic Metallica sixteen,
top ten, The Ramones fifteen, Goodness Sours they brought their
Nirvana fourteen ten, The Allman Brothers thirteen ten, Slying, the
Family Stones twelve, Steely Dan at eleven.

Speaker 2 (01:08:49):
Top twenty Steely Dan Steey Dan is a number twenty two.
Metallica technically has a Danish member.

Speaker 1 (01:08:55):
He's the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (01:09:00):
Welcome in and thank you for being part of what
we do. So we just unfortunately speedy read the top
fifty greatest American rock bands. Let me emphasize that rock bands,
so they have to be from America. They must be
rock and looking at how it turned out, it's I

(01:09:24):
didn't okay, can we even find sticks? I don't see
I do not see them. They gotta be on that.
I will tell you this, I don't. I'm gonna fly.

Speaker 7 (01:09:37):
I'm gonna fly through this and then y'all can like
jump in that. Fifty was the Food Fighter again. The
Top fifty American bands of all time. Take some of
the people that are on the list and where they are,
I can't take it. The Beach Boys are at number one.

Speaker 2 (01:09:52):
That's the end of this list. That list died on
this number one choice.

Speaker 8 (01:09:56):
Pocomo slaps though Rick co.

Speaker 2 (01:10:00):
It makes me want to slap at fifty, Food Fighters
forty nine, Flaming Lips, Flaming Lip forty eight, Captain's on
This and Flaming Lips on It, Captain beef Heart Yeah
and his Magic Band at Nicety Sticks forty seven, Stone
Tiple Pilots forty eight, Red Hot Chili Peppers forty five,

(01:10:20):
bon Jovi forty four, Pixies.

Speaker 7 (01:10:26):
Got One Good Song, Jefferson Airplane forty two, Boston forty one,
Journey Cheap Trick is at forty The Doobie Brothers thirty nine,
Blondie thirty eight, Frank Zappa and the Mothers of a
Convention thirty seven, Midley Crewe thirty six, crew Santana thirty five,
Pearl Jam thirty four I thought they'd be high, thirty

(01:10:48):
three with Chicago Darryl Hall, John Oates, thirty two, The Temptations,
thirty one, Heart Is at thirty, Booker t and the
MG's twenty nine, Way to the Stooges twenty eight, eight,
Way Hot or Velvet Underground, twenty seven, Terrible Funkadelic, twenty six,
Pepunk Call Stars. We mentioned rock, well, this was if

(01:11:10):
you remember, we went back and it was a mixture
of all genres because when rock went they say music's
gone through so many little.

Speaker 8 (01:11:19):
Okay, so it's just American bands. It's not rock band, right.

Speaker 7 (01:11:23):
Yeah, even though they say, even though they say at
the top, here it says, and I'm reading it, blah
blah blah blah, the the top fifty American rock bands
of all time.

Speaker 2 (01:11:34):
This like they say rock and roll Hall of Fame.

Speaker 8 (01:11:36):
I put Santana higher because I'm not racist.

Speaker 2 (01:11:39):
Oh my goodness. Yeah, but if your earbuds were missing,
you would accuse him.

Speaker 7 (01:11:43):
Yeah, but y'all brought y'all brought up, and we can
go a little bit more into it. I don't see
I'm seeing her going through it. I don't I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:11:52):
We see don't worry Alice Cooper twenty four. We see
the Stooges, but we don't see Sticks. Sound Garden twenty three. Okay,
great for dead.

Speaker 7 (01:12:00):
I mentioned them at twenty two, The Cars twenty one,
So you found the Black Crows. Yet the Black Crows
are not our Sticks. The Black Crows and Sticks are
not on.

Speaker 2 (01:12:09):
The Stooges, and the Pixies are, and the Beach Boys
are number one. Unreal blasphemy rock and roll blasphemy. Crazy.
Do y'all realize how good Sticks is?

Speaker 17 (01:12:22):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (01:12:22):
Yeah, And I'm saying and the Black Crows, I will
say that at times the Black Crows live can get
a little sloppy. Well, and when they go through the
jam band when they thought they were a jam band.
But Sticks, I mean they are pros and they, as
you said, Greg, still right now as we speak, playing
their songs in the original key, singing them in the

(01:12:43):
original keys unreal. I saw them like three or four
years ago, Greg, Greg Greg Greg gave them the greatest compliment.
They don't get to the hard parts of the song
and then hold the microphone out to the audience right
sing it with me? They actually sing it, Yes, very well.

Speaker 8 (01:12:56):
Is Kansas even on the list.

Speaker 2 (01:12:57):
Oh my goodness, good not wait a minute, just forget it.

Speaker 4 (01:13:00):
That's it.

Speaker 8 (01:13:01):
Put that list, this list that you can speedy, This
list you made is terrible. You're proven that you don't
know you really are right now.

Speaker 2 (01:13:07):
So ultimate Classic Rock dot com and just carry on
my wayward son, Greg and Adler have said, arguably the
greatest rock song ever put together. Yeah, when you do,
it's got it all it gives you.

Speaker 8 (01:13:19):
They debated that with a jiu jitsu friend this past weekend,
and how did that go? He was like, you know that,
you make a good point, and then talking about understand.

Speaker 2 (01:13:26):
Well, when you first say it, there's so many rock
songs I can understand people are a little bit aghast.
But then when you make your case for it, great vocals,
great into the arrangement, great guitar, great piano, great everything,
and it builds up.

Speaker 8 (01:13:43):
It starts here, and it starts at ten, and it
goes to eleven and then twelve.

Speaker 2 (01:13:47):
Do you think the one guitar going on and on
and on there for a while, a little self indulgent.
It's a little long, but it's okay.

Speaker 8 (01:13:53):
You need it. I wish to think about your life
while it's going.

Speaker 7 (01:13:56):
On, I wish that Ultimate class Rock dot Com went
a little bit more into detail on the formula. Here
it says, uh and and it's just a quick paragraph.
Here says because music is a subjective medium, there's no
perfect formula for assessing like his one act better than
the others.

Speaker 8 (01:14:15):
In the Wind that was just in the stinking wind?

Speaker 7 (01:14:19):
Yeah, this says, does critical acclaim count more than commercial sales?
Should a band whose longevity span multiple decades be ranked
higher than a popular band that burned out quickly? And
what about artists who never enjoyed mainstream success, you know,
but but had had heavy influence off you know.

Speaker 2 (01:14:36):
I realized, I'll realized that we do not have them
this list. Guns and Roses, Yeah, yeah, I had them.
I think I think I had them. By the way,
some of you that are asking for led Zeppelin that's
not an American band.

Speaker 8 (01:14:52):
Is non American either.

Speaker 2 (01:14:54):
American foreigner. The name is actually foreigner, folks, Foreigner. Yeah,
I think there were two americ because in the original
they said Guns and Roses was seventeen, okay.

Speaker 8 (01:15:03):
And Queen. People are asking why isn't Queen on the
name of the band is Queen not king or president.

Speaker 2 (01:15:08):
Right, then they're also they're also American. They're not American.
That hurts. And somebody's asking, where's the group Alabama? It's
not the country band list. Yes, they would definitely be
on maybe at the top. They might be number one.
They probably would. Of course, the Beach Boys shouldn't be no,
right if.

Speaker 8 (01:15:25):
If Simon and Garfunkel are on there, you can put Alabama.

Speaker 2 (01:15:28):
On there, Mike, So southern rock, they just said, forget it.

Speaker 22 (01:15:31):
They said we were special, special, black throat, blackfoot, black crows,
come on, blackbird smoke, yeah, Blackstone cherry, anybody went.

Speaker 2 (01:15:43):
Black and their name is right. So this is what
they said. The Beach Boys were more than just a
group that's saying about girls surfing. I don't even want
to hear about it. I do not want to hear
about the Beach Boys. I won't hear it.

Speaker 7 (01:15:55):
They said, there's a few bands that have had greater
impact on popular media.

Speaker 2 (01:15:59):
You're kill They should be in on the list, but
not number one.

Speaker 8 (01:16:03):
Yeah, top ten, give them top ten. CCR should be
should be top three.

Speaker 2 (01:16:08):
They are reo Speedwagon.

Speaker 8 (01:16:09):
There you go, it's another good speedwagon.

Speaker 2 (01:16:11):
My goodness, are they not in the top fifty.

Speaker 7 (01:16:14):
Says the Beach Boys string of late sixties and early
seventies albums included some of their greatest and most mature work.
Do you think this is because Brian Wilson passed away
and they felt obligated, Yes, maybe he the weird is.

Speaker 8 (01:16:27):
Yes, they felt obligated to put the Pixies on there too.

Speaker 2 (01:16:31):
So this was ultimate classic rock dot com.

Speaker 8 (01:16:33):
Not me, Oh, I thought it was you.

Speaker 2 (01:16:35):
It was you, speeding, Matthews Man.

Speaker 1 (01:16:40):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

head to head with Greg and you can pull it off.
If you can pull it off, then of course you

wheel has for a while really cranking out some money.

(01:17:49):
Then it kind of went it went cold again. So
so we'll see. But you can't get an opportunity to
get to the wheel if you if you don't win
today with Greg. Right again, our topic the Andy Griffith Show. Awesome,
So so just just just be aware of that. All right.
So let's set a few more of these.

Speaker 8 (01:18:10):
But we ain't turning back big box in the house.
We're turning it loud.

Speaker 4 (01:18:16):
Here we go.

Speaker 21 (01:18:17):
Hey, hey, hey, hey, yeah, let's go, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:18:28):
Come on, come out.

Speaker 21 (01:18:31):
Yeah, we're walking the show.

Speaker 2 (01:18:36):
So here we go. This comes from Hunter. Hey Bird
Hunter here, huge fan of the show. Love it, Thank
you very much. Hunter. Uh gotta take hear you, guys.
I'd like to discuss something I want to let you.
In a peculiar situation, I found myself in I ran
into my my first day. It happened my first day

(01:18:58):
at a new corporate job. I work in corporate world.
I walked into the office and I met the building's handyman, custodian, friendly,
chatty guy. We begin talking. He very kindly offered to
walk me to my new office. I think, nice, leave
at me making connections already. That's when things took a turn.

Speaker 4 (01:19:20):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (01:19:21):
He tells me that my office is on the fourth floor. Great,
but instead of heading toward the elevators, he leads me
down a hallway on the first floor, completely in the
opposite direction. Red flag. I think, yeah, maybe, but I
go with it, thank you. Well, maybe there's some sort
of shortcut, there wasn't. We arrived at the men's restroom

(01:19:46):
without breaking a stride or taking a pause in the conversation.
He walks right in. Not I need to go to
the bathroom, not whatever. He's just walking me into the bathroom,
still talking to me. Uh, like we were just talking
in the break room, where I may follow him in
the bathroom. I, on the other hand, came to a

(01:20:08):
full stop. Yes, sirhead him myself. I didn't know what
the protocol was here. So I just thought, I don't
need to go to the bathroom. So I just stopped
and I waited outside the door. He was in there
maybe a minute or so. Then he came back, picked
up the conversation exactly where we left off. No explanation,

(01:20:28):
no mention, no acknowledgment of the bathroom, just straight to
the fourth floor, like the bathroom thing never happened, like
this was all part of an on boarding tour to
this new company. So my question is did I handle
this correctly? Was standing there the polite thing to do?

Speaker 1 (01:20:45):
Was that rude?

Speaker 2 (01:20:46):
I'd be glad you didn't go in? Or should I
have taken the opportunity to maybe break off and find
the office on my own? That's what I would have done.
I don't know how to handle this. Thanks in advance
and loved the show. Did he handle it right? Guy
in the bathroom? I would have left you stop? No,
I kept going, you're gone. I'm because remember the first
time you ever met this guy didn't know? Yes, I

(01:21:08):
don't know if he's gonna leave. One don't know what
was stop. He's got to get that in. Yeah, any
time bathroom knew that? Uh so why did you you
ten speedy. Why did this happen? This is in your world?
You don't you think there should have been? There should
have been. Your office is on the fourth floor. I'll

(01:21:30):
show you. Oh, by the way, I got to hit
the restroom real quick. Let me run to the restroom
and I'll take you up there. But he he never
gave a warning, and he just kept taking him down
the hall and then he wanted him to just go
right into the restroom, still talking. I think he was
going to kill him, and then he.

Speaker 8 (01:21:46):
Did.

Speaker 7 (01:21:47):
He was there conversation like, did the guy think fourth floor,
I'm moving on and he didn't know he was still
following him.

Speaker 2 (01:21:52):
No, he said, He said that we were conversing the
whole time.

Speaker 7 (01:21:56):
He thought maybe he thought, when I go into the bathroom,
you're gonna go onto the fourth floor.

Speaker 2 (01:22:00):
You can find You're grown. No, he said, I'll show
you where your office, so let me if it's on
the fourth floor, I can find. I'm just trying to
my minion. I'm just I'm not following some weirdo down
the hallway.

Speaker 7 (01:22:08):
I think I think that I think a acknowledgment that
I've got to use the bathroom. To your point, I'll
be right back out. Then I'll show you do you
think and spend here?

Speaker 2 (01:22:19):
Let me stop right here and I hang on, this
is just walk in and leave somebody hanging out in
the hall. Or did he expect you to walk? He said?
I think he wanted me to walk in the bathroom
with him. And let's just keep talking. You know, there
was a secret door that got you to the foe
and you know what that could have led to. And
we've talked about this. The god forsaken guy who goes
right into the stall, sits right down, blows out a

(01:22:39):
little air and just keeps talking to you about the braves.
You didn't have to tell him. You didn't have to
say it like that. Well that's always how it starts,
you know, you know you know what I mean.

Speaker 4 (01:22:47):
Welcome to the company.

Speaker 2 (01:22:47):
You know we had to do. I'm gonna we're gonna.
I'm gonna be honest. If it's not one of y'all.
I don't really talk to people in the bathroom. I'll go, hey,
how are you? That's it. Sometimes I'll just go to
it's a no talking zone.

Speaker 8 (01:23:01):
I just give the white person smile, you.

Speaker 2 (01:23:03):
Know, the white person smile that the head nod with
that smile, with the.

Speaker 8 (01:23:08):
Mouth closed smile, no teeth, your teeth aloud?

Speaker 11 (01:23:11):
Uh so.

Speaker 2 (01:23:12):
So I think the guy just stood there at the
bathroom waiting for the come back out. I guess that's
about all you can do. I don't know they could
have handled it any other way. I don't know what
you do. You vanished right there. Then the next time
you see him, is it awkward? I mean, why didn't
the guy go, hey, I'm gonna step him round now,
that's that's what he's asking. He doesn't understand why that
part didn't happen. That seems pretty common because I you know,
I'm always helping people to Sweet two hundred many times.

(01:23:33):
Did it again yesterday? But they're not asking you to. Yeah, well,
they're always lost. I said, let me get a Sweet
two hundred. So you want me to leave the woman
who had her child with her, who was in a wheelchair,
just let them keep one around the lobby.

Speaker 7 (01:23:46):
I just say, there's Sweet two hundred. There steps, there's
the elevator, it's just right above us. That's what I
did physically. I think that was six seconds, right.

Speaker 2 (01:23:53):
But anyway, I don't understand why the guy didn't say
before I take up there. I need to go to toilet.
Yeah right, yeah, I don't get that. And why not
take him up there and just use the toilet on
the fourth floor. Surely there's one after he drops the car.
Don't this hold the toilet? It don't need to be
involved in any of its asking us, why does this
toilet stop involved in this? This seems odd? Is it
toilet or tilet this toilet? Toilet?

Speaker 4 (01:24:18):
Toilet?

Speaker 2 (01:24:19):
Toilet? Toilet? It's set to It's a.

Speaker 18 (01:24:24):
Turlet in Tarlet's a turlet incharly go ahead, said.

Speaker 2 (01:24:30):
Hey birch a bird. I'll get one more in. Hey
birch a bird?

Speaker 4 (01:24:33):
What up?

Speaker 2 (01:24:33):
Chris? Getting this a lot? I have the book Men
Don't Run in the Rain already read it. It's impacted
me greatly. Thank you for that. I'm forty four. I
would like to ask one more thing. My question is
I walked out to my car in the pouring rain,
he said. I found myself facing a word conundrum, an
undrum can I got in the car soaking wet, and

(01:24:56):
sat there realizing I was realizing this. Uh, the rain
was going to be very heavy, but it would be
very brief if I would just, you know, hang in
my car for another ten minutes the rain probably stops.
Question is clarification? Am I am? I?

Speaker 4 (01:25:12):
Am?

Speaker 2 (01:25:12):
I less manly? If I say I'm not going to
get out of the car because I think this rain's
about to stop, you know it's it's I think that
I could have waited, it would not affected where I
was going. I would would have still gotten there on time,
so it wouldn't it wouldn't hurt anything. So I was
putting my shoes on the leave when the downpour started.

(01:25:33):
I need to know for the next time, because I
got myself soaking wet because I thought I should walk
on through it. But is it okay? If it's short
and heavy, just to let it pass, then go. If
it doesn't affect the schedule, there it is. That's the key,
I think. So if it affects the schedule, you got
if you're gonna be late, you got to get out
in it, and you can't make yourself right, you can't go.
I was waiting for it quit rain and so I

(01:25:54):
could come in because I didn't want to be. No,
if you've got time and you think this is one
of those big downpours, this just gonna go quickly, I
don't think there's any issue letting it get y'all's dead
was pro common sense. Yeah, he will. Don't engage the
rain if you don't have to. Yeah, right, but if
you get somewhere to be, don't let it stop you.
They get correct, that's a bumper sticker. Greg uh huh corrects.

(01:26:15):
That's absolutely true. Well said, we'll come back. We'll continue
right again with Greg burd just coming up. Oh boy,
coming up. Could happen in any moment. Got a little
bit of an attitude. Yeah, we'll see. Get a chance
at the will coming up before the show's over today,
We'll be back.

Speaker 1 (01:26:36):

certainly had our experience of this on the show, you
start thinking about fireworks, and when you start thinking about fireworks,
you ought to think about safety. We were just talking
about off the air and Adler's got a number of videos.

(01:28:32):
There seems to be a lot of firework warehouse explosions
and yeah, fireworks stand explosions. You know you want to
go m So we've got here. Here's a warehouse blowing
up in Yolo County, California.

Speaker 7 (01:28:47):
Yeah, this was Tuesday, but on live TV you have
mores coming out about it and the fact that we
still have some folks missing.

Speaker 2 (01:28:55):
I think seven are missing.

Speaker 8 (01:28:57):
Yeah, it was absolutely huge.

Speaker 2 (01:28:59):
Look at that. Here we go and it's.

Speaker 8 (01:29:01):
Gonna go up. Explosions right there, California. So get ready
to get ready. It's not a good situation.

Speaker 1 (01:29:09):
Okay, Yeah, you can absolutely see the on the left e.

Speaker 8 (01:29:12):
This is catching right now.

Speaker 14 (01:29:14):
Far works are going on.

Speaker 19 (01:29:15):
Remind you you're watching the case at seven.

Speaker 2 (01:29:18):
Wow, there we go. He now, explosion like a mushroom cloud. Guys,
did you see that explosion? My good now, it's just
fireworks like crazy, my goodness. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we're fine.

Speaker 4 (01:29:36):
I don't know if you guys heard that.

Speaker 8 (01:29:37):
Holy yeah, we heard it.

Speaker 2 (01:29:38):
We heard it.

Speaker 7 (01:29:40):
How about happen on live TV in the helicopter, so
you can see, uh, even before the major explosion, the
fireworks that are just being shot out of the building,
like just off into the field beside it.

Speaker 2 (01:29:52):
You might know why there's above ground pool right beside it.

Speaker 8 (01:29:55):
I saw that too, y'all.

Speaker 2 (01:29:57):
That explosions crazy, Greg, that's what you took from that video? Well, yeah,
I mean fun right there behind. I know, but there's
a major explosion. I just can't figuring why you got
to have a swimming pool right there at a fireworks.

Speaker 8 (01:30:10):
Is that another one right there behind the smoke?

Speaker 2 (01:30:12):
If somebody went and jumped in it when this thing
exploded while the helicopter. Oh good night, that's a big
fireball and that's crazy.

Speaker 15 (01:30:24):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:30:24):
And then you you also have emergency crews in another
part of California. Uh, they're urging residents in that area
to evacuate because a massive explosion also happened at a
fireworks factory. What's the deal?

Speaker 8 (01:30:39):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (01:30:40):
It makes you wonder another towering plum of black smoke
a visit visible for miles that right there. Dang, that's
a big one. That's another one also in California.

Speaker 9 (01:30:51):
This is.

Speaker 2 (01:30:53):
Something I mean you know the Chinese make all the fireworks.

Speaker 8 (01:30:57):
Oh, Greg, there it is this cc The CCP is
taking fingers this weekend.

Speaker 2 (01:31:04):
Okay, okay, now, emergency up up. There's another one emergency
cruiser on the scene after a fireworks show set up
went wrong, yes, and exploded at a country club injuring
several people in Massachusetts. Look, there's just.

Speaker 8 (01:31:19):
People running on the golf course running away.

Speaker 2 (01:31:21):
Look what in the world it looks like a I mean,
it's just so much. It looks like a lightning storm
and a clouds, so much stuff going up. Now this
other one is so at A lot of issues with
fireworks warehouses and fireworks shows, yes, but a lot. It
just seems like they're really grouping this year for some reason.

(01:31:42):
Now this is not new, but it's cool. Yeah, a
guy flew his drone into some fireworks. Remember that this
is not new, this is old. But he's going to
get the drone and get right up in there on
this fireworks show that's going on. Do you remember what
year this was at or I don't look at the
look he's in the middle of it. That is really

(01:32:03):
tool footage. Now you you make fun of that, you
must not be you must be. I knew it. I
knew it. We couldn't get it out without Greg's screaming fake.

Speaker 8 (01:32:12):
And I attempted this one year about chickened out at
the beach.

Speaker 2 (01:32:17):
I say, you can't be all that attached to your drunk, no,
because it could blow up.

Speaker 8 (01:32:21):
Really really, those propellers are not that strong. Honestly, you
lost in the tree one time I did.

Speaker 4 (01:32:26):
That was bad, right, So there you go.

Speaker 2 (01:32:29):
Somebody asked, what is a pay Now everybody's showing us
blown up hands. Yeah, somebody that what is a plum
of black smoke versus a plume?

Speaker 4 (01:32:38):
You know?

Speaker 2 (01:32:38):
Well everybody knows that.

Speaker 8 (01:32:39):
Yeah, where we're from.

Speaker 2 (01:32:40):
And then there was a smoke that has a plum
color to it. Yes, let me give a little word
warning here because we've had over the year stories you
know now the ones you can buy that they're in
the pipe and you drop them in there and they
basically look like real fireworks. Yeah, don't put one of
them on top of your head.

Speaker 4 (01:32:55):
No kill.

Speaker 2 (01:32:56):
Somebody does not end up. Well, no, you remember this one.
This is when the formarst went bad. There's running ba back,
everybody's running yeah, good not And then the most famous
of all is back up Terry. Back up Terry. Watched
that right back up Terry. I could watch I think
one thousand times, back up Terry. So what you're known

(01:33:19):
as backup.

Speaker 21 (01:33:20):
Back up Terry, back up to long Terry.

Speaker 2 (01:33:25):
That's such a good here. It is great to say,
refer chair.

Speaker 18 (01:33:32):
Out back up too, Terry is still not back.

Speaker 7 (01:33:44):
You can't get it went, it would not operate less
less famous.

Speaker 4 (01:33:51):
Big tear refer chair.

Speaker 2 (01:33:56):
Fantastic.

Speaker 8 (01:33:59):
Okay, Terry, it's fine.

Speaker 2 (01:34:01):
Here's a little smoke up. Just get the toggle to work.

Speaker 4 (01:34:05):
I'm trying to go.

Speaker 21 (01:34:06):
Oh lo oh lord, turn it back up.

Speaker 2 (01:34:12):
So we come back. Some tips on hosting the forest
vide you'll need this, Okay, I got it, and some
other ideas and we'll kind of discuss those. We'll come
back hanging there.

Speaker 1 (01:34:26):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

(01:35:39):
maybe a few tips here or tip here, and we'll
be right if we agree with these. Hope you're watching.
Uh okay, here we go, all right, So this is
getting a line up here, some video and audio and
these are some things that we can try.

Speaker 8 (01:35:54):
Yeah, I'm getting the line up here all right, And
you guys are gonna have to talk out what the
tips are. So they're going to grilling butter technique where
you put a divot in the middle and put the
ice cube on the on the paddy. Do y'all do that?

Speaker 2 (01:36:06):
No, that's the dumbest thing.

Speaker 4 (01:36:07):
I do.

Speaker 2 (01:36:08):
Not supposed to make as it's.

Speaker 8 (01:36:09):
Spoiseds to make it moist.

Speaker 2 (01:36:12):
Never any circumstances. What I do I would never do.
If you tried, you're gonna do that. No, but if
you tried it, why what I My hamburgers are more,
but they make it be better. My hamburgers are moist.
I know what I don't. I'm not gonna sit there
and put a divot in hamburger pay and drop an
ice cube. I agree, I'm doing it. So here we
go time. Here comes hot dogs, a bunch.

Speaker 8 (01:36:33):
Of hot dogs and he's putting a skewer through it
on either side.

Speaker 2 (01:36:37):
Wow, and you SPLI to flip. That's not a bad idea.
It seems like I'm not sure the payoffs there for
the hassle though.

Speaker 8 (01:36:46):
Yeah, need you just roll them in?

Speaker 4 (01:36:49):
Not that big?

Speaker 2 (01:36:50):
I like to I like to roll and make the
barbecue sauce. I'm almost like doing a rough tissary thing
with him. I don't like that. That's two things I
don't like. It's interesting to this Greg. Don't forget somebody
says they always do this and they cook out. They've
put water inside of tin, a big tin trail ten,
they freeze it and then they put like vegetables or
stuff on it speed.

Speaker 8 (01:37:10):
He called it right, that's right.

Speaker 13 (01:37:12):
I say that.

Speaker 8 (01:37:12):
What do you think of that?

Speaker 2 (01:37:14):
That's a good idea? Keeps it cold? Put pan on
top of a frozen not a good Why is that
not a good idea? Who wants to need a bunch
of raw vegetables at a cookout? Well, Greg's important what
you used to do.

Speaker 8 (01:37:26):
Nobody carrots, Nobody tear of baby carrot.

Speaker 2 (01:37:31):
No one ever said Greg to your point, it's a
somewhat healthy snack. But as far as I'm going to
the barbecue, hair, are you bringing the raw carrots and
the celery? And no, you're not belong on the fourth
of July? What about it?

Speaker 7 (01:37:41):
The table finger food while you're waiting down there all
day that should be connecting saucers you're buzzing, you've been drinking.

Speaker 2 (01:37:47):
That should be connecting saut on it. You want chips
that that should be connected, sausage that should be chips,
hamburger dip, let me throw let me throw this at you.
But let's say that for whatever reason not the fourth
of July. Okay, you want to put out a vegetable plate,
freezing that one underneath is a good idea. Yes, I
don't think of veget I don't think raw vestable was
belonging on the fourth. I agree with you there. If

(01:38:10):
you're gonna set it outside in the sunshine, I guess
it matters, but it's not. I've never had raw vestables
get hot. Okay, all right, So I thought that was
a good idea. Greg doesn't. I think I thought the
other two were not.

Speaker 8 (01:38:18):
Greg thinks it's stupid. And this is the watermelon.

Speaker 2 (01:38:23):
The best way to cut a watermelon?

Speaker 8 (01:38:24):
Yeah, yeah, So you open it so you got two
bowls basically, and then you can cut it from the top.

Speaker 4 (01:38:31):
I don't mind that.

Speaker 2 (01:38:31):
I got to have a sharp knife, but I don't
mind that. Okay, that's a good idea. Those of you
that can't see this, I don't even know how you
describe it. Look at that right there. Do you feel
like watermelon? Do you feel like they're they're messier than
they are good? Yes, and sometimes it's like is it
worth the hassle? But they're good for you too. At sixty,
wouldn't you say they're good for you. They are at

(01:38:53):
the age of sixty under no circumstance. Am I picking
up a giant slice of watermelon and sitting there like
I did was I was a kid in These are
cutting squares, cutting squares, make it ice cold, set it
out for everybody. Give me a little salt this right here,
I think since you're only holding one end of the
rine and it's almost like a watermelon popsicle this year eating. Yeah,

(01:39:14):
that's a pretty good idea. Okay, I don't know that
I'd go through that trouble, but it's a good idea.

Speaker 8 (01:39:19):
I want'll say I have a new I have a
new watermelon technique. Cut it in half. You got two bowls, right,
and you almost do like a grid in the bowl,
but you don't call. You don't cut all the way
through the rind. And then the little kids can come
and get a little column of watermelon. And then you
don't have them seeing where where do I put my rind?
Where I put my And this is in an outdoor

(01:39:41):
almost like splash day environment only, and that's been a
huge hit with kids.

Speaker 2 (01:39:46):
In the last that's a good idea. You go seedless
with the kids.

Speaker 8 (01:39:50):
I tried. But even the seedless not everybody likes.

Speaker 2 (01:39:56):
By the way, if it says seedless, there should be
no seeds and there. What about when you cut a
hole in it and dump vodka? Is that they dump
in the top of your something that no punch, punch, Greg,
it's not. They dump it inside the watermelon? Yeah, no,
I've never seen. Then they eat the watermelon. You never
seen it. Then they get the hooping and holler. You
never never seen it.

Speaker 8 (01:40:14):
Never it goes into the fruits.

Speaker 2 (01:40:18):
What the good news is it's vodka, so nobody knows
you're drunk about your behavior? Yeah, what's you got in there?

Speaker 8 (01:40:25):
This is grilling s no salt, no salt.

Speaker 2 (01:40:29):
Food on the watermelon? You don't put salt, No, I don't.
But butter on the hot dog bun is good?

Speaker 4 (01:40:35):
It is.

Speaker 2 (01:40:35):
I've never tried butter on the hot dog bun. Put
in the hot dog bun on the grill, Yeah, yes,
with buttered inside, letting it gets toasted.

Speaker 8 (01:40:44):
Okay, butter toast.

Speaker 2 (01:40:48):
But all right, I'm.

Speaker 8 (01:40:50):
Gonna start buttering.

Speaker 2 (01:40:51):
Can we table hot dogs? I got another question coming?

Speaker 8 (01:40:53):
Yeah, all right, we're gonna do it now.

Speaker 2 (01:40:55):
I mean we can pall I mean let's keep going.
How many more we got? Look at this?

Speaker 8 (01:41:00):
Look check this out?

Speaker 2 (01:41:02):
Okay, so like uh using a cupcake pan right to
just put all your condiments and things you put on
your burger or hot dog. Each little slot is a
place with pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, yeah, olives, tomato, instead
of having paper plates laid out everywhere. Yeah, and you

(01:41:22):
have those and you go, now you've refill. I was
about to say, are those big enough to make a difference?

Speaker 8 (01:41:27):
That's true?

Speaker 2 (01:41:28):
And you need two of them all right now.

Speaker 7 (01:41:30):
I will say this because I know Greg. I will
speak for him. He does not like to share dipping sauce.
No on a big I mean like he wants you
to make your own where we're not all gathered around
all dipping because you know, I don't like you.

Speaker 2 (01:41:44):
Like, yeah, he's talked about think about it.

Speaker 8 (01:41:46):
You try to explain the double dipping to a child.

Speaker 2 (01:41:49):
By the way, I think you're an alien from another planet.

Speaker 8 (01:41:53):
Israel looked at me yesterday, like, what are you talking about?
I know where the cheese dip is. I have a
chip here, buddy. I'm like, buddy, that's a chip that
it's not a spoon.

Speaker 2 (01:42:03):
I bet that. I bet he understood.

Speaker 8 (01:42:06):
All right, cleaning your grill. Everybody knows that the bristles
are dangerous. The bristles are getting caught in people's throats.

Speaker 2 (01:42:12):
Greg, get the plastic one us cleaning his grill with
an onion?

Speaker 8 (01:42:17):
Then what do y'all think of that?

Speaker 4 (01:42:19):
All right?

Speaker 8 (01:42:20):
Well, well here's this one's for Greg. Did you know
that you can bust a twelve pack box in half?

Speaker 2 (01:42:24):
First of all, this is the last person who've ever
drink an r C. Right, yeah, but when I was
like three.

Speaker 8 (01:42:31):
The box can stand up on its own. Y'all think
that's cool. I think it's not cool.

Speaker 2 (01:42:37):
Use it as a container.

Speaker 14 (01:42:39):
Don't know that?

Speaker 4 (01:42:40):
All right?

Speaker 8 (01:42:40):
One last one. When you got a picnic, you got
a picnic bench, you got a table whatever in the backyard.
This lady instead of using whatever, she uses a bed sheet.

Speaker 2 (01:42:48):
A bed sheet the table claw and it stays. That's
not a bad idea.

Speaker 1 (01:42:53):
It's not washed it.

Speaker 2 (01:42:55):
Well, you gotta wash it obviously, by the way, that
that one, I'm gonna show that one share. That's a
pretty good one.

Speaker 8 (01:43:01):
That's pretty good.

Speaker 2 (01:43:01):
But does the table I mean the table size and
the and that has got to match up.

Speaker 8 (01:43:06):
You got to you gotta tuck it a little bit. Yeah,
it's got to be a twin. It looks like yeah,
all right, so you'll think of the tips, speedy hot dogs.

Speaker 7 (01:43:13):
It's not bad, all right. I want it for two
things when it comes to hot dogs. Don't forget Greg
Nathan's hot dog eating contest Joey Chesnut makes his return tomorrow.
And then the other is what is the best hot
dog weenie to get? You know, you hear horror stories
about hot dog weenies and what they're made up, and
what is the best weenie?

Speaker 4 (01:43:34):
Me?

Speaker 2 (01:43:35):
I think Oska mar Angus Beef. I agree with baby brother.
The ballparks don't leave. The ballparks are a little greed.
Don't don't like you know, they're little greed when you
cook them, and that's pretty good. I don't like them.
How do you feel like putting connecta sausage in a
in a hot dog?

Speaker 6 (01:43:53):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:43:53):
I don't hate it, but but it's not a hot
I like it, but it's not hot dogs.

Speaker 7 (01:43:58):
So I want if I want a hot dog, and
I'm going to grab some hot dog weenies. And I'm
sitting there looking bun length Angus Beef Oscar mar and
it's real beef.

Speaker 8 (01:44:07):
How do you feel?

Speaker 2 (01:44:07):
Who knows? But they say it is.

Speaker 8 (01:44:09):
The Jews have a pretty good hot dog.

Speaker 2 (01:44:11):
They do, they do. Thank you Jewish friends.

Speaker 8 (01:44:15):
Yes, concher beef.

Speaker 2 (01:44:17):
Come on, not a bad dog, skinless beef.

Speaker 8 (01:44:20):
Franks, What does bun length mean?

Speaker 2 (01:44:22):
Well, it's it's you know how sometimes the normal size.
You've got a lot of bun there. Length it's in
the name. It's in the name. I thought it's the
length of the bun.

Speaker 8 (01:44:33):
I thought it might be shorter or something.

Speaker 2 (01:44:34):
No, one length is shorter than the bun. That doesn't
make any sense.

Speaker 8 (01:44:39):
I didn't know about.

Speaker 2 (01:44:40):
What about Johnsonville fan, big fan of buns? That's what?

Speaker 8 (01:44:45):
Okay, all right, we go.

Speaker 2 (01:44:48):
We go spiral dog.

Speaker 8 (01:44:49):
Now every time we make a hot dog, it has
to be spiral.

Speaker 4 (01:44:52):
Gotta be spiral. It's greg.

Speaker 8 (01:44:56):
Just just drink another growing spiral like Tom Brady.

Speaker 1 (01:45:01):
This is the Rick Burgis Show. Okay, are you ready
to bring something to the table?

Speaker 23 (01:45:14):
Cool?

Speaker 1 (01:45:15):
No, and get on the show. One eight eight eight
six Big Bucks.

Speaker 2 (01:45:23):
America. It's your turn to speak. So here we go.
All ten lines are open. We go onscreen phone calls,
so much to comment on I mean, we're deep into
the show. Now, any part you miss, go back and
catch it on the archives. But now it's time to
chat with you. You're gonna hear the phone ringing and
we'll just start screening on the flock. And do y'all

(01:45:45):
ever feel like as we're getting ready to take these calls,
do you ever do you ever think the folks at
Johnsonville that we're we're kind of the victim of a
joke they're pulling on everybody. But have you ever really
thought about anything? Have you ever liked like this? You
ask Greg that like maybe this was a company that

(01:46:06):
was formed by a bunch of teenage boys. I mean,
I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that it
was actually a place called johnson Ville, but just kind
of you don't know, it's kind of I get it.

Speaker 8 (01:46:18):
Yeah, it's probably a town in Wisconsin.

Speaker 2 (01:46:22):
Okay, sure it is.

Speaker 8 (01:46:24):
We continue now Johnson and Johnson.

Speaker 2 (01:46:26):
Yeah, maybe I got you. Hello, Welcome to the Rick
Burgess Show. Onscreen phone calls go ahead.

Speaker 14 (01:46:33):
Hey, good morning guys.

Speaker 10 (01:46:35):
Hello.

Speaker 14 (01:46:35):
My name is Rachel and my husband John and I
are competitors.

Speaker 11 (01:46:38):
In the nationwide contest.

Speaker 3 (01:46:40):
Called America's Favorite Couple. I'm calling to ask your listeners
to vote for us, not because we deserve it, but
because we'll be donating the twenty thousand dollars winning prize
to a young couple here in hospital who's.

Speaker 13 (01:46:53):
Eight months old.

Speaker 14 (01:46:54):
Baby girl hasn't yet.

Speaker 13 (01:46:56):
Left the hospital due to the fact that she.

Speaker 17 (01:46:59):
Needs a new heart transplant.

Speaker 3 (01:47:01):
We're acting for a vote so that we can bless
another couple, not to keep the money for ourselves.

Speaker 2 (01:47:06):
Okay, the link, Yeah, we have to take your word
for this, but tell them what the link is.

Speaker 3 (01:47:13):
Yeah, it's America's sav couple dot org Flash twenty twenty
five slash John hyphen Rachel and that's a daily vote
from now through July tenth.

Speaker 2 (01:47:25):
Okay, well, thank you, luck and good luck with that.
I hope that does work out to help the family
that has that situation. Sure, and send us more information
on that too. We will try to help you.

Speaker 8 (01:47:36):
You guys are currently first in your group.

Speaker 2 (01:47:38):
I see, let's go great from the taxtonation, Rick, will
you be making spiral dogs? You know that's a good question.
Wait a minute, I haven't planned on, Well, wouldn't you, Well,
I'm talking about it. I don't think I don't know
that I'm cooking out or doing anything, I'll be an
American village. Well you can have lunch, Yeah, lunch. It's
not a bad idea for lunch. But if I cook dogs,

(01:47:58):
it will be spiral dogs. I'm to the point now.
Spiral dogs are so good. I don't even like another
kind of hot dog. Do you just throw weenies on
the grill? To me, it's such a downgrade from a
spiral dog. So if I if I do any spiral
dogs or do hot dogs, it would definitely be spiral dogs.
So that's a good idea. Maybe we'll do something for
lunch time. I've done got to the point I started

(01:48:19):
a bad habit. While I'm cooking them, the dogs coming,
they stare at me because they love them. Oh, and
I'll flip them one or two. Them cool off because
I have burnt them my mouths a couple of times.
Now they let out again. I really finally like you
that day a little better. But she's still not that
big on me.

Speaker 4 (01:48:35):
But but they do.

Speaker 2 (01:48:36):
The minute I fired with the grill and they sent there.
Here they come, they say, because you start feeding. They
love a good spiral the same reason I walk out
to the grill and have a few. Hello. Rick Birger's Show.
Unstreamed phone calls, Go ahead.

Speaker 12 (01:48:49):
Hey, guys, longtime listener, love the show man, Thank you,
and uh, I noticed when they're not talking about the watermelon.
I got a good treaty on you to try if
you cut your slice of watermelon and you put some
little and a mustard on it. Man, it is good.

Speaker 4 (01:49:02):
I'm telling you.

Speaker 12 (01:49:03):
Try, but it's awesome.

Speaker 2 (01:49:05):
Now come, he's setting us up, he said, mustard on
the How did you even get to that?

Speaker 8 (01:49:12):
Hear the phrase don't knock it to you?

Speaker 4 (01:49:14):
Try?

Speaker 8 (01:49:14):
You can't put that on just everything. Yeah, you say
that you.

Speaker 2 (01:49:18):
Can't put mustard on.

Speaker 4 (01:49:19):
Hey, I'm play. I'm on.

Speaker 2 (01:49:20):
I played in trap today. Hey, don't knock it? Do
you try? We continue Rick Burgers Show, unscreen phone calls,
Go ahead, Hey, good morning guys. Hey buddy, Hey, I
knew there wasn't anything to this rock and roll list
when mister Lucky was nowhere to be found. Well sid
Well said, And by the way, if you're a fan

(01:49:41):
of mister Lucky, it's all say we continue. Uh, let's
go here see unscreen phone calls. You're on the Rick
Birders Show.

Speaker 15 (01:49:50):
Go ahead, Yeah, y'all was talking about the Christly dude
got out of prison the other day, and y'all talking
about prison tats with a tear drops. I tried to
find does a tear drop mean Mama tried or Big
Bubba made it?

Speaker 2 (01:50:06):
Man, I don't know. Good questions. Uh we continue, Rick
birders show unscreen phone calls. Go ahead, Hey, good morning,
Hey buddy.

Speaker 15 (01:50:18):
Hey the Speedy's list earlier that that list blows chunks
because Thompson's twins wouldnety mom on there.

Speaker 19 (01:50:25):
Come on.

Speaker 2 (01:50:27):
Point that's a fire that and spin down ballet. By
the way, the guy who said mustard of a watermelon,
I've never heard this term before. I hope that guys.
Both sides of that guy's pillow is always warm. I've
never somebody, you know, you turn over and get that
cool side. I've never heard that term before. When you're
mad at somebody sentiment on a watermelon. We're hearing that now,

(01:50:48):
all this assault on. Hey the watermelons, fine, it doesn't
need any help. No, they'll draw some flies in. That's
like that time that nick bark bark gootsk right.

Speaker 8 (01:50:59):
The town.

Speaker 2 (01:51:03):
You to do that and simmy tws and something when
when he showed us that great bit when he told
his wife he didn't think chocolate. Milton need any help.
He's doing just fine, not drummers doing just fine. We continue, Hello,
Rick Burgers Show, unscreen phone calls, go ahead.

Speaker 14 (01:51:23):
Thank you, Boddy.

Speaker 17 (01:51:25):
I need Speedy to check his email or Instagram, DM,
could I send him something?

Speaker 10 (01:51:30):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (01:51:32):
Literally twin okay? It had six fingers and so what
do you say it was? Rick Burgers Show, unscreen phone calls,
go ahead.

Speaker 17 (01:51:51):
Hey, good morning fellows. Tell y'all we're good hey man.

Speaker 4 (01:51:54):
Two things.

Speaker 17 (01:51:54):
First off, when the fireworks thing exploded, if you look
at that videogame, when the slow Kyle goes off to
one side, that pool is still standing.

Speaker 2 (01:52:02):
Oh you can't. You can't. When Greg said four feet
of fun, you can't touch it. No, that's a big one.

Speaker 17 (01:52:07):
That's a commercial for that pool company.

Speaker 10 (01:52:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 17 (01:52:12):
I saw the video of the uh uh, the thing
y'all did with Will Smith about where he couldn't get
the people to dance? Yes, yeah, do you think he
was more upset that he couldn't get the people to
dance where he knew his wife to somewhere dancing to
somebody else?

Speaker 2 (01:52:31):
Uh? Somebody on text Nation. I hate to say it.
I'm out of the loop on spiral dogs. That's all right.
Go to Rick Burgess Show dot Com. Go to Rick's Picks.
It's right there. Also our YouTube channel you can search.
Be going through how to make it.

Speaker 8 (01:52:45):
I'm actually prepping to play during the break right now.

Speaker 2 (01:52:48):
Warn you, Luke Combs. It's like he's doing it. I'm
going to warn you. This is before I decided to
do it a little better. It's during the pandemic, and
you're gonna think that Luke Combs has come up with
spiral du oh, Vicky just sent me an email. Uh

(01:53:09):
that called the other day.

Speaker 7 (01:53:10):
She says, she's already walked a mile this morning, watered
the ferns again, and uh no yogurt, no yogurt yet.

Speaker 2 (01:53:16):
Well it's coming. Go Vicky, Go Vicky, Go Vicky, go large,
go goosey, still go goosey. She's still counting water and flowers.
That's all right, got to let you have a lot
of flowers. I know the comedian's name is Nate, not Nick.
I couldn't even get you. I couldn't get everywhere. My goodness,

(01:53:37):
what any of this have to do with spiral?

Speaker 20 (01:53:39):
So bad.

Speaker 8 (01:53:39):
He's speaking I myself included.

Speaker 2 (01:53:41):
Whatever you want to know how to make a spiral dog,
watch our YouTube channel, uh and see see it in
the break After's got it for you, Luke. Colmbs is
going to show you how to do it.

Speaker 1 (01:53:51):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (01:53:55):
All right. So uh, let's just fire up the phones.
It's time for right again, right again? Greg, You're right
again to right again, right again. You're never wrong. I
just don't remember when singing. Now you right again, right again.

(01:54:16):
So here's the deal. You've got to match Greg three
times on three questions. If you do, you get a
shot at the wheel. Greg will spend it for you.
Can you force Greg to the will? Our topic today
another strong one for Greg. Andy Griffith show Now in
my wheelhouse. This may be my weakest, but what I

(01:54:39):
need to do. I say weakest, I just I don't
have access to it like I did. I know there's
a channel I find and all that. So you got
a good chance. But again, let me warn you, just
because I act like I don't know it, I may
really know what I'm trying to trick you. And also
if I'm real confident, I may be tricking you. You
don't know. You got to kind of know. You can't
just go well, Grey's always right, right, yeah, because I'm

(01:55:01):
gonna act like it and I may not be whether
you're right, because we had to put that element in
because the way that people would win is just becuble.
Greg's always right, yeah, and then you always are, so
so Greg has to pretend to be wrong sometimes just
to throw you. And if I'm wrong, I'll pretend I'm right.
I mean, if I don't know, I mean, I may
give you a confident answer even though I don't know,
and then I may be like, ooh, like I'm struggling,

(01:55:22):
but I do really know. So really, what you're hearing
is the way Greg and I got through high school.

Speaker 4 (01:55:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:55:27):
All right, So with Danny's in Tuscaloosa, Danny, how are you.

Speaker 21 (01:55:30):
Buddy doing?

Speaker 4 (01:55:32):
Good brother?

Speaker 8 (01:55:33):
Good morning a road tag?

Speaker 2 (01:55:36):
So do you think you're pretty knowledgeable? And Andy Griffith, man,
I watch it all the time. Uh okay, all right,
Well let's see if we can get a win here.
The first one is this question. The Andy Griffith Show
ran for eight seasons. Of course, y'all both probably knew that.
But here's where the question gets a little tougher. Do

(01:55:57):
you know how many were in black and white and
how many were in color? So the total seasons are eight?
How many in black and white? How many in color?
Let me break this down.

Speaker 4 (01:56:07):
So it is eight.

Speaker 2 (01:56:08):
It is eight black and white, Barney, even Warren, who
I didn't like, to be honest once. Once we get
to Warren and Barney's gone, you lose me. Okay. So
Warren was in a black and white and I think
he was also in color, so he must be right there.
And you said there are eight, correct, So if there's eight,
I'm going I'm going five black and white, three color

(01:56:33):
at eight? Is Greg right again? Daniel? Do you think
Greg's wrong?

Speaker 4 (01:56:38):
Well?

Speaker 20 (01:56:38):
I think he went back and changed some of them
from black and white to color.

Speaker 2 (01:56:42):
I doesn't care.

Speaker 11 (01:56:43):
I'm going to say, Okay, I'm going to say Greg's right.

Speaker 4 (01:56:46):
He is right.

Speaker 2 (01:56:47):
You are correct. He hit it perfectly.

Speaker 8 (01:56:48):
I was either going sixty or perfect, boy, perfect.

Speaker 2 (01:56:54):
This next one. If you're from where we are from,
you probably know it. You're from Tuscaloosa, how long you
live there? Alright, You're probably gonna be all right here.
Jim Nighbors, who played Gomer Pyle, is from what Alabama City.
That's Silicaga. Is Greg right again? Danny?

Speaker 20 (01:57:16):
Oh no, he's wrong.

Speaker 14 (01:57:18):
Oh Jasper?

Speaker 2 (01:57:19):
No, No, that one you're thinking about Goober? You're thinking
about Goober? Danny, Danny, Danny, Danny, Danny. Greg was right again?
Uh wow, All so you get them confused, Omer and Goober.
There were cousins on the show. One from Jasper, one
from Silicaga. Yes, uh, Greg, a little tidbit I'll throw

(01:57:40):
in or should I save it for another one? There's
a there's a George Lindsay a piece of trivia from
Una that is unbelievable. Oh, I know that one. Do
you about he played ball with?

Speaker 4 (01:57:54):
Who with with?

Speaker 15 (01:57:57):
Uh?

Speaker 16 (01:57:58):
That?

Speaker 2 (01:57:58):
You got me there? Okay, I just knew he played
ball player. I'm gonna leave that with along may come
back to that. Let's get a new contestant. Uh boy,
did did you? Did you hear David be confidently wrong?
I know you got to stop. You got to settle
down to see what happens. He got him inverted. Settle down.
David is in Prattle David, did you know that? I'll
have the honor of being in Prattville? Lord Willing On

(01:58:19):
July the twentieth at Boone's Chapel Church for the Little
Man Church action.

Speaker 11 (01:58:25):
Well, that's awesome. I hope you get to tour our
beautiful sidewalks we got going up, and I just want
to say a quick thing. When Speedy answered the phone,
he asked me if I wanted to pray, and I said, yes,
I want to pray that.

Speaker 2 (01:58:36):
Okay, what's that now, I said, I said speed.

Speaker 12 (01:58:40):
He answered the phone.

Speaker 11 (01:58:41):
He said, do you want to pray?

Speaker 14 (01:58:42):
I said, yeah, I want to pray.

Speaker 8 (01:58:46):
If you've been praying, you're going to beat Greg?

Speaker 2 (01:58:47):
You're wrong?

Speaker 21 (01:58:48):
Yeah, right here we go.

Speaker 22 (01:58:50):
David.

Speaker 14 (01:58:50):
No, no, no, I gotta always believe I'm.

Speaker 2 (01:58:55):
Speedy.

Speaker 24 (01:58:57):
He was not.

Speaker 4 (01:59:00):
Bad thing.

Speaker 8 (01:59:00):
I got tickets.

Speaker 11 (01:59:01):
I got tickets to come up to August twelfth, Speedy.

Speaker 2 (01:59:04):
I was gonna bring you a surprise. No, I'm kidding anymore.
You know what I'm gonna pray?

Speaker 3 (01:59:08):
You do?

Speaker 4 (01:59:08):
You know you got listen?

Speaker 2 (01:59:10):
Come on, buddy, I can't wait. You play and pray.
Mix that would could have been could have been playing gay.
It's not our fault you could have. It's not David's fault.
It's not Greg's fault. It's not Adler's fault. It's not
my fault. You have toast for you a lot more.
It's not on us, all right, So that's all you
can think about, buddy, you can think of. Let's go
to Andy here, Okay, all right about David. All right,

(01:59:31):
David and Andy trivia. Okay, that's what I'm Okay, Well,
you need to be praying. I'll tell you to praise you.
All right, here we go, you ready. David Barney five's
main squeeze with Stellma Loo.

Speaker 4 (01:59:45):
We all know. We all know that.

Speaker 2 (01:59:47):
But occasionally he dated a woman that we never saw.
She was unseen, but he said her name Greg. Who
is disperson? I listen, I'm confident with the first name,
not confident with the last. I gotta have first and
last name.

Speaker 4 (02:00:05):
Yes, it was.

Speaker 2 (02:00:06):
ONEA because I say that he one time Andy would
walk in you and catch him talking to doing love.
He had made up a right about beautiful one and
all this. So it's Juanita and the last name. I
am not one hundred percent sure, but I mm hmm,

(02:00:27):
Wanda Juanita jan Needa. I don't Baker, je Needa Baker.
Do you think Greg is right again? Or do you
think he's wrong?

Speaker 11 (02:00:39):
He in honor of speedy.

Speaker 12 (02:00:41):
Let's just say he's right.

Speaker 2 (02:00:43):
He's actually wrong, buddy, the last name, last name, See,
I wouldn't sure see August twelve. But he thought I
might have been faking that. Juanita Beasley say, I didn't have.
You're close. I didn't have. Do you know what one
need to Beasley did for a living waitress?

Speaker 1 (02:01:02):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (02:01:03):
Where at the diner?

Speaker 1 (02:01:04):
That is correct.

Speaker 2 (02:01:05):
So here's the problem we've got. Was Greg faking wrong
to throw you off? Yeah? I'm not an owner of it.
Last night, I don't think you've ever been wrong? Okay,
really right now, that's impossible. Somebody's been wrong. That's rare. Okay,
all right, let's tell you that is rare. We come back.
We'll continue. So the next contestant will be Jeremy in

(02:01:26):
brook Haven, Mississippi. So Jeremy, you hold up. We'll come
back and see if I mean. Jeremy may be the
only hope. Now, if he misses the first question, then
somebody else may get a chance. But we'll come back.
Jeremy brook Haven, see if he can get this done.
Stay on hold, though, in case he doesn't, we'll.

Speaker 4 (02:01:43):
Be right back.

Speaker 1 (02:01:45):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (02:01:52):
Who's ready for a little more right again with old
Gregory Burgess. Do you think you can do it? I
will see.

Speaker 3 (02:02:00):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (02:02:03):
Let's let's get Jeremy and Brooke Caven Mississippi. He's he's
gonna try it. Thank you. We're gonna try it, all right? Yes,
all right? So Jeremy, Uh, I don't know your knowledge
of Andy Griffith, but right now, Uh, there's been a
few people that I think they're they're overconfident and their

(02:02:24):
knowledge of of Andy Griffith, and it's it's burned them.
Uh So uh, here here you go, Jeremy, can you
find your way to that? Will?

Speaker 8 (02:02:33):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (02:02:33):
You're pretty familiar with Andy Griffith, are you?

Speaker 14 (02:02:37):
I used to watch it growing up all the time,
but I ain't watched ten years.

Speaker 2 (02:02:40):
I guess it's gonna be bringing on. That does not
sound right? All right? Here we go? Uh? Is greg
right again? Here's the answer we're looking for?

Speaker 8 (02:02:49):
Greg what actor portrayed Howard Sprague.

Speaker 2 (02:02:54):
Probably one of my least favorite characters, yep, because he
went into Maybear RFD you know which I don't know
what that is in Barry and all that. Sure, Rick,
I'm not well, I'm gonna say Jack Thompson Jack Thompson
played Howard Sprague. Is Greg right again, Jeremy? Or is

(02:03:15):
he wrong this time? I'm gonna say right, I'm sorry
he's wrong. I see that. Greg. Didn't think you were
gonna miss that. You thought you were right, didn't you.
It's actually Jack Dodson Dodson, what I Knewson? I was
close Jack Dodgson, I was looking at Are you thinking

(02:03:35):
it happens? Let's let's go to John John out of Alabama. John.
Are you ready, buddy? I'm ready. I mean somebody, Yeah,
I mean that old wheel over lights ain't even on? No,
all right, we're gonna stay with Jack Dodson, who played
Howard Spray. I'm not big on ha RFD No.

Speaker 8 (02:03:59):
Listen this.

Speaker 2 (02:04:01):
Jack Dodson, who played Howard Sprague. Keep that in your mind. Favorite,
got it, says it every time. Also had a reoccurring
role on another series with Ron Howard Happy Days. Big
fan of that. Jack Dodson, who was Howard Sprague on
Andy Griffith also played someone reoccurring or recurring on Happy Days?

(02:04:26):
Can you tell me who he played on Happy Days?
I don't know his name, but he was Ralph Mouth's father.
Do I have to have the name. I would prefer
the name to be there, but at this point it
was something mouth. Yeah, Greg, we got that. So do
you agree with that? Is Greg Wright? Again? That Jack Dodson,
who played Howard Sprague also was Ralph Mouths rap.

Speaker 4 (02:04:49):
Mouse's father on He's right, He's right.

Speaker 13 (02:04:52):
He was an optometrist.

Speaker 19 (02:04:54):
Again.

Speaker 2 (02:04:55):
Do you remember his name?

Speaker 4 (02:04:56):
Chance?

Speaker 2 (02:04:58):
Do you remember his name?

Speaker 4 (02:04:58):
About a chance?

Speaker 2 (02:04:59):
Okay, Mickey Mouth. I'll say, oh, that's funny. And he
always did corny practical jokes. Uh yeah, I remember that.
But I'm allowing it. Getting pretty leanient. I know, I'm
allowing that's a pretty hard That's a pretty hard Howard Sprague.
Come on right, here we go. You ready, you're you're
you're on a road, John, I'm ready, all right? Greg

(02:05:21):
listened to this season two of The Andy Griffith Show.
Season two there was an episode which I remember, by
the way, he loved it called the Jinks.

Speaker 4 (02:05:30):
I love the Jinks.

Speaker 2 (02:05:33):
And he do all this stuff to take this out
well in that In that episode of season two, we
were introduced to a sandwich eating little boy who never speaks,
but he offers a bite of his sandwich to anyone
passing by who is or what is the boy's name
and who played him?

Speaker 8 (02:05:52):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (02:05:52):
The boy the character is Leon and he was played
by Clint Howard, which is Ron Howard's younger brother when
ron zpie and if you'll watch every Ron Howard movie,
he has a part in it. It's just about as
an adult, is Greg right? It's hard to look at John.

Speaker 12 (02:06:09):
Greg is one hundred percent right.

Speaker 2 (02:06:10):
He is one hundred percent right again, come on, he'd
walk up with a sandwich. He would give you a
b offering about it. He was in a water boy, Greg,
there's no need for you to add the phrase that
Ron Howard's brother as an adults hard to look at it.
He was he Let's just be honest, all right. He
wasn't gonna get no leading roles. Okay, so so so

(02:06:33):
John for the win, for the win, Jim Lindsey, I
got him. Played guitar playing James Best on an episode
of Andy Griffith. What band did James Best join? What's
the name of the band? Bobby Fleet? Because I love

(02:06:58):
Bobby Fleet and the Beat. I know it's Bobby Fleet.

Speaker 14 (02:07:01):
I'm guessing Bobby Fleet and his band with the Beat.

Speaker 2 (02:07:03):
Yeah, we've got ourselves a winner. This got new stuff.
That's very very good.

Speaker 4 (02:07:13):
All right.

Speaker 2 (02:07:14):
So Greg goes to the wheel for you. All right, Greg,
get uppare and see if you can spend something. And
Jim Lindsay he played then he played cooter on a
not cooter. He was the feed Roscoe Roscoe peak hole train.
That is how you showing out. Now we all show
it out, hey, John's good, all right, John, Greg's going

(02:07:36):
to the wheel. All he's waiting on is for you
to say it's will to me. And you do that,
and he's gonna spend that. Baby, We're gonna see what happens.

Speaker 4 (02:07:45):
It's will to me.

Speaker 5 (02:07:47):
Let it rip, rec John, You've earned it, buddy, You've
earned it by big bar.

Speaker 4 (02:07:52):
Let's go.

Speaker 2 (02:07:52):
Let's see what happens for Johnny.

Speaker 21 (02:07:54):
How about Johnny?

Speaker 2 (02:07:55):
I think he knew as much about Andy griff A
as Greg dead by.

Speaker 4 (02:07:58):
The way or more? All right here?

Speaker 2 (02:08:02):
Uh?

Speaker 23 (02:08:04):
Not bad?

Speaker 4 (02:08:05):
Not bad? Okkay?

Speaker 21 (02:08:06):
All right?

Speaker 2 (02:08:07):
It could have been worse, Johnny. All right, John, you
got some got some swag come on from the Rick
Burgess show store. You got a Rick Burgess Show t
shirt coming in.

Speaker 4 (02:08:16):
A water bottle. How about that sounds good to me?

Speaker 2 (02:08:20):
Thank you, thank you, brother, we'll put you on hold.
And that guy was a ringer, Yeah he was. He
was really good. It was really good Greg show. Yeah,
Bobby Fleet and his man with the beat. Don't you
remember that? I do, and and and I love remembering
the episode the jinks. The jinks was hilarious. God it, Barney,
it's fine. And do you remember Andy getting on to

(02:08:41):
him to stop think of this guy's if you give
on something different to try to keep the ridge across
his head? Did me have a little rhyme? He's rubbing
open his head because he had the red hair and
he rub.

Speaker 3 (02:08:56):
So.

Speaker 2 (02:08:56):
And then of course all the men in the community
got in on it. They went fish in it in
the boat's unk, and Andy was got sick and tireder
By says, jingsn't think bad things just keep happening. So
and the guy got all down about it, depressed he did.
So nobody wants to be a gin, so I know
this is a tough one. So you said your least
favorite character on Andy Griffith Howard s break, Oh yeah, no,

(02:09:18):
no doubt. I think I'm holding it against him because
they went into r f D, which I do not acknowledge.
No may very what was would so would you say
Barney is your favorite?

Speaker 4 (02:09:27):
Carroll?

Speaker 2 (02:09:27):
Absolutely not even close, followed close by Floyd the Barber. Okay,
it was good and hotis has got to be closer
to him. Who's your favorite?

Speaker 8 (02:09:37):
Andy Griffith?

Speaker 2 (02:09:38):
He is a good one, especially in the early episode
when he's got a little more country on. Oh yeah,
oh yeah, but no, he was good when he played
the straight man to Barney. I mean that was funny,
very funny, mess with barn the way he'd hack on Barney.
It is very good, Let's be honest. His words of
wisdom to Opie, those were good ones. Yeah, said it
didn't wasn't on their muddy. But about Steve Bass, how

(02:10:01):
do you get around that? That's true? That was a character.
Can I tell you when he sits down with the
character played by Buddy Epsom, who went on to of
course be Jed Clampett when he had a word with
him about not being honest and taking things and what's
the harm in it and all that. Yeah, and that's
a really good parenting speech, by the way. So the
problem is you're gonna move on and you're gonna leave

(02:10:21):
us with with all these things you've taught this kid,
and we're gonna have to fix it. But there there's
some there's some great ones on there. Oh yeah, and
the show. Yeah, it was good. The I had a
favorite to it, but don't worry about it.

Speaker 8 (02:10:33):
Who was it?

Speaker 2 (02:10:36):
It was Helen Crum. It's it in music, but I
still like No, I like Helen Crump. Yeah, yeah, I
know who your favorite was, aunt, but I got it.

Speaker 16 (02:10:45):
I got it.

Speaker 8 (02:10:45):
It's hard not.

Speaker 2 (02:10:47):
To be Barney. It was the Darlings. Oh that they
were good. Hey, the Darlings are good.

Speaker 12 (02:10:52):
They were good.

Speaker 2 (02:10:53):
They were good. Le'll be back the bottom of the hour.

Speaker 1 (02:10:58):
This is the Wick Burger Show.

Speaker 2 (02:11:02):
Six episodes out there you can enjoy. We'll do a
new one next week, but six of them already there.
Wherever you get podcasts, be sure and followed that podcast
as well. It's also on our YouTube channel. Okay, So, uh, Speedy,
do you want to tell us your favorite? And we're
good buddy, Sorry, man, I don't want a charity question.

(02:11:23):
So he was sitting there just waiting I would tell
y'all my favorite. So we all agreed on who was favorite,
and we want to bring yours.

Speaker 8 (02:11:38):
Up against them. Well, actually, you don't we wanted. We
saved a whole segment for you.

Speaker 2 (02:11:42):
You get your own segment. Yeah, going to your read
there in the break, you told me Ellie Walker wouldn't
bad as a kid. I would agree. Yeah, she was
a lot better than Helen Crump. Oh god, I think
Helen Crump brought nothing to the day. Don't give up
on and go to that. So uh the who were
the two wild girls that came to town?

Speaker 4 (02:12:04):
They would give them so many.

Speaker 2 (02:12:12):
That was where Speedy's favorite characters. They're all messed up,
messed up hair. Barney was a fantastic sorry, so many handles,
I know. That's see, I can talk about it. Yeah,
Tomorrow tomorrow is Independence Day, okay, and let's freedom ring.
Let's just call it our founding fathers. If they returned today,

(02:12:36):
oh boy, and they saw the things that we have allowed,
especially involving taxes, taxes, they would lose their minds. They would,
I mean less, we set it up and y'all blew it.
Three cent tax on tea they went bersark. Yeah, okay,
so reminds me of an Andy s. However, However, if
it is the tax law and we've allowed it, and

(02:12:57):
we owe taxes, we are more bound to pay them.
It is the largest collection agency in the world, the
I R S. So let's say that you're not in
good standing with the IRS, not going to go away
and believe it or not, they want to resolve it
to But you need to have an advocate, need to
have somebody helping you. And here's one that's rated A

(02:13:20):
plus by the Better Business Bureau and I speak now
of US tax Shield. So take control of your financial
future now. Okay, go to Rick burgesshow dot com. The
phone number is. They're under sponsors, or you can just
call them one eight hundred seven six' nine seven three

(02:14:04):
couple of, things you, know we always love checking in
with our Friend Scott. Jennings, okay Watching Scott. Jennings you,
know dealing with all the people ON. Cnn it really is.
Fun it's quite a bit of. Fun here he is
a couple Of Scott jennings from from the last twenty
four hours or. So so here he is talking about

(02:14:28):
Why President trump and his administration is so, popular and
he's trying to make the left just, understand CAN i
tell you things that just are not? Unpopular and he
runs the, List so here we.

Speaker 19 (02:14:42):
Go accept the projections on this number, one number.

Speaker 2 (02:14:47):
Two it is not.

Speaker 25 (02:14:49):
Unpopular it is not unpopular to invest IN. Ice it
is not unpopular to give this agency what it needs
to deport violent. Criminals it is not unpopular to make
sure illegal aliens are not getting. Welfare it is not
unpopular to take able Bodied americans who are not doing,
anything who are choosing not to. Work it's not unpopular
to say we're not paying for your welfare when we're

(02:15:10):
asking everybody else to get up and go to. Work
these are popular, provisions as is no tax on, tips
as is keeping the tax rates. Low you keep talking
about the popularity of the. Bill individual provisions are exactly
How trump won the national popular.

Speaker 19 (02:15:22):
Vote it will work if they run the, play but.

Speaker 9 (02:15:25):
It's currently not, working and that that's why you have
four no votes currently, happening because you.

Speaker 19 (02:15:31):
Don't know why they're voting. No you know about what
their motivations. Are and they may.

Speaker 8 (02:15:34):
Flip they're voting no because they don't agree with the.

Speaker 9 (02:15:37):
Bill they're voting.

Speaker 19 (02:15:37):
No they may have individual, question but the vast majority
of The republicans know this is to.

Speaker 9 (02:15:43):
Play the president has plenty of time to convince and
to get their caucus in order that, much.

Speaker 2 (02:15:50):
And they actually it was pretty quick turnaround why they did.
Flip So scott was. Right scott was. Right and why
do women on the left have that same?

Speaker 1 (02:16:01):
VOICE i got.

Speaker 2 (02:16:03):
You, Yeah so here's another. One jenning is just gonna
have fun with. This he's going to force The democrats
to try to explain Why mamdani uh is being a communist,
uh and then how they're going to explain that away
and say he's good For New York. City it's pretty
funny here.

Speaker 19 (02:16:23):
The Democratic socialists elected as mayor Of New York.

Speaker 25 (02:16:26):
City, no you agree With pete that he is a,
Communist he's. Not he's a, socialist he, said he's the
means of.

Speaker 8 (02:16:30):
Production he's a.

Speaker 2 (02:16:31):
Socialist i'm not a.

Speaker 19 (02:16:33):
Socialist he's using the language of The bolsheviks as it.

Speaker 4 (02:16:36):
Is, no he's. Not he's a, socialist not a.

Speaker 1 (02:16:38):
Communist the means of.

Speaker 19 (02:16:40):
Production that's called, socialism not. Communists THE us bar and
stone doors.

Speaker 17 (02:16:46):
Coming up.

Speaker 2 (02:16:47):
NEXT i like that he you're acting like socialist is
a good. Socialist, no he's not a, communist just a. Socialist,
yeah oh that's. Better let's go to THREE a as, Well.
Adler so THREE, a so that where the the left
tries to, pretend because of some disagreements on the big beautiful,

(02:17:10):
bill that this means that the things That trump is
doing now that they're not. Working you heard her say,
that you know where they're just not. Working so we'll
HERE'S cnn having to admit something that looks like it's,
working and that would be the. Layoffs here we.

Speaker 8 (02:17:27):
GO i got something playing still in the, background and
know what's still going to find?

Speaker 2 (02:17:31):
Out all, Right howard not Being, yeah we.

Speaker 8 (02:17:35):
Go, there we go, There egan joins.

Speaker 25 (02:17:37):
Me, now give us some contacts here and what this
report tells us about the economy and what you're, Saying.

Speaker 26 (02:17:42):
Well, sir this report paints the picture of a jobs
market that is holding them better than feared layoff announcements
skyrocketed earlier this, year but thankfully they are coming back to.
Earth so challenge great And. Christmas found that In june
there were about forty eight thousand layoff. Announcements that is
down sharply by forty nine percent From. May and it

(02:18:06):
is even a little bit lower two percent lower than Last.
June and when we look at the trend for layoff,
announcements they were trending higher and higher earlier this.

Speaker 2 (02:18:16):
Year this looks back to the.

Speaker 26 (02:18:18):
Beginning of twenty twenty, four you could see they were
really low last, year skyrocketed Around february And. March in,
Fact march was about five times higher Than. June and
this of course was driven in large part By doze,
right the government.

Speaker 2 (02:18:34):
Of, yeah so everything's looking. Good so layoffs are down
by forty nine, percent and you certainly would see at
skyrocket when we started getting rid of people that were
just getting paid to do nothing right off the. Taxpayers
and do you say the congressman on THREE b is
It Tim, Burchett, Yeah birchett birchitt Or Birchet Burchett Birch.

(02:18:55):
Yeah so here he is ON cnn and he makes
a mistake of thinking he's there to asked questions and
for them to have a. Discussion but then he realizes
that he's just in an editorial and and he's had
enough of.

Speaker 1 (02:19:08):
That so here it.

Speaker 8 (02:19:09):
Is, yeah my links isn't working with. Me i've got it.
Now all here we, go so many things to.

Speaker 6 (02:19:14):
Click it'd be a great thing for this.

Speaker 2 (02:19:16):
Country. Well THE, cbo which you put so much trust
in four years and years that you passed a resolution
wanting estimates read before, bills is very clear about how
many people are going to be.

Speaker 8 (02:19:26):
Kicked off of. Healthcare until you were against, this.

Speaker 4 (02:19:29):
Ma'am, no, ma'am, no. Ma'am you're.

Speaker 6 (02:19:30):
Listen listen if you want. To if you want to
do the, editorial just go. Ahead and you don't need
me on, here but the sea.

Speaker 8 (02:19:35):
Facts, SIR i would.

Speaker 6 (02:19:37):
EDITORIALIZE i would like to see what the economic economic
output of every. Bill you as a taxpayer should want that,
Too and THE cbo is the only organization we. Have
IF i could allow a private accounting firm to do,
IT i would much rather that. Happen but the reality
is it would have to be THE. Cbo and what
do you have against knowing how much each bill is.
Spent why is the media post of. That why do

(02:19:58):
you all on the left always fight every chance At
america knowing what's going. On the problem we all have
with this, bill, man is that it gets government out
of our way and Lets americans make some, decisions and
maybe hard Working americans would have a better choice and
a better shot at life in this country without you
all just telling us how bad things are going and
trying to construct and as you're doing with, me trying

(02:20:20):
to trying to dictate What i've. Said and the reality
is THE cbo is a partisan, organization and the reality
Is america has a right to know how much we're
spending on every piece of. LEGISLATION i cannot believe, you
as a member of the, media would not want open,
records and that is exactly what that bill would. Do, hell.

Speaker 2 (02:20:39):
Are you going to do an? Editorial then no need
for me to be, here, Right? Yeah all, Right well come,
back and we've got some more questions from the. Audience
we'll hit some of those also before we're done. Today
the question before all of, us have you wiped your grass?
LATELY i didn't know what you, Say oh, rass be

(02:21:03):
careful that, yes, yeah well you have to be, careful
but it is the.

Speaker 2 (02:23:23):
There we, go twenty five years bringing the. Good see that's.
Good see what usually, Happens and y'all a lot of
you are probably saying it right now if you're A.
Southerner what usually happens is people try to bring their
northern garbage to The. South we need to help them
by taking some of Our southern goodness to. Them, yeah
we make their place.

Speaker 4 (02:23:43):
Better.

Speaker 2 (02:23:43):
Y'all don't come here and make our place, worse RIGHT i, yeah,
okay husband's put your put your husband hat. On, okay hey,
bird hey birds from. COAL i could really use the
wisdom and counsel of, you mayor men is, youngster he's twenty.
One i'm twenty one years old college football player who

(02:24:06):
has been dating a girl for over a year who
plays you guessed, it. Soccer that's, fine all, right she's a,
woman but there's.

Speaker 8 (02:24:15):
MORE usa one last, night by the, way.

Speaker 2 (02:24:18):
Let me ask one to, nothing two to. ONE i
certainly enjoy being with, her And i'm somewhat thankful to
the sport, for you, know bringing her to the same
university as. Me so that should be a good feeling about.
Soccer but here's where it gets a little. Rough she
also has two brothers who also have played soccer in,
college and her parents love watching. Soccer but no one

(02:24:44):
has been more critical of this, weird soft feminine cult
in our country than. Me i'll be spending Both fourth
Of july weekend and a week after at the beach
with her and her. Family soccer will one hundred percent
be a prominent, topic and even, worse even, Worse Probably

(02:25:08):
i'll have to watch it ON. Tv how DO i navigate? This?
Guys is this just one of those SACRIFICES i have
to make if she's the? One what advice do you all?
Have Maybe adler has some tips and knowledge since he
appears to be the only avid. Fan, also he goes
on to say that he's enjoying the. Show thank, You

(02:25:30):
cole the. Cod, look you're going to have to realize
that if she's the, one soccer is going to be
part of your. Life her playing, soccer, fine her brother's playing,
it her family loving, it watching it ON tv like
you would watch for the love of. All it's good
and kind, football baseball or. Basketball that's that's. Weird, yeah

(02:25:54):
but don't you think he's got To let me tell you,
what you don't go in. There this is gonna be
weird coming from. Me you got to, know gotta know your,
Place you gotta you gotta read the. Room you don't
go into your potential future in laws with two soccer guns.
BLAZING i think that's a, mistake don't. YOU i think

(02:26:16):
he's just got to go in there and. BLEND i
would even go as far as, to you, know pretend
to care about. It but but but the text nation
is already ahead of. Me but there is one really
important question just how fine is she? Is kind of
is she more fine than the soccer? Discomforts is she

(02:26:39):
out finding her?

Speaker 8 (02:26:40):
Soccer?

Speaker 2 (02:26:41):
Correct?

Speaker 7 (02:26:41):
Yeah did he say they're currently student athletes or they
have just fit currently now her brothers are Former, okay
but the current, deal there's some lot there's a lot
of positives to.

Speaker 4 (02:26:52):
That that's no.

Speaker 2 (02:26:53):
Doubt she's a student.

Speaker 7 (02:26:55):
Athlete she understands the pull, on you, know the training
and you, know because a lot of times you might
date someone that doesn't understand. That, correct then you're never,
around you're, traveling and that she understands.

Speaker 2 (02:27:06):
All, yeah kind of like my oldest, son he and
his wife are both from the same world of acting
and getting auditions and all that kind of. Stuff.

Speaker 7 (02:27:14):
Yah, yeah so She so there's there's a big positive.
There so when he's on, tour it's not weird to, her, Right.
Yeah if she if he's out and, traveling she's got
to compete, too and and and trained so and she's
probably really.

Speaker 2 (02:27:25):
Competitive.

Speaker 7 (02:27:26):
Sure so so there's there's that which is, good which
means she has really hard work. Ethic there's a lot
of positives, there and it depends on how big that
soccer is to.

Speaker 2 (02:27:36):
Him now as you, say, yeah that on the.

Speaker 7 (02:27:38):
List you, know if if you put a line down
what the piece of, paper the positives might be way down,
here and then you just have.

Speaker 2 (02:27:44):
SOCCER i mean we're not we're not like talking like
he found out she's a. Democrat, OKAY i mean would be.
Tough that's a good. Point, yeah but but it is
it is a communist sort of. Thing but but, again
is she fine enough that will it really comes? Down,
yeah and all the things you mentioned speedy is. All
that's so, good you, know the way that she understands.

(02:28:06):
Athletics she's got a great work. Ethic it's okay for
women to play. Soccer what he's really worried about, Is
i'll have to immerse myself and other males who like
soccer to the point they even watch it ON.

Speaker 7 (02:28:18):
Tv, yeah but if they're but if they like soccer
but they're not BIPs about, it you.

Speaker 2 (02:28:23):
Know it's, like, HEY i, played But i'm not like.
That if they're, not they're not of the cult that, says,
hey soccer is the supreme sport that everyone shouldn't and
right if they're not like, that, right? RIGHT i don't, know,
MAN i mean we all do things for the women
that we. Love, Yeah AND i THINK i will say
this this, week you keep your mouth shut about. Soccer oh, yeah,

(02:28:46):
no you just this week you go find out how
bad it.

Speaker 8 (02:28:49):
Is.

Speaker 2 (02:28:49):
Yep don't make any, prejudgments and do not be negative about.
Soccer right you you go in there and, see pretend
that you're married to her right, now and see if
the the family is is tolerable enough and is she
more fine than any of, us any of the annoying
parts of. IT i think that's it in the.

Speaker 7 (02:29:10):
Sand and you just kind of just read the, room you,
know and let's let's let's see How, yeah, yeah?

Speaker 2 (02:29:17):
Choke did you he can do. It don't get. UPSET
i got, choked BUT i know he can do.

Speaker 8 (02:29:21):
It when it comes, to you, know before marriage, QUESTIONS
i guess we need to. Add you, know it's it's
do you want kids and you know how? Many and
you know you believe In god all that, stuff and
then do you like? Soccer you, know add that to the,
list you.

Speaker 2 (02:29:36):
Guys think, AGAIN i THINK i think the part of
her playing soccer is easy to. Navigate it's the family
and the men who love soccer in that family where
he's going to have a.

Speaker 8 (02:29:48):
Struggle whose family are we gonna spend time? With are
we gonna watch? Soccer what?

Speaker 1 (02:29:52):
If the what?

Speaker 2 (02:29:53):
If the soccer family Likes american? Football that's, Good that's.
Good those are things you got to.

there but in the morning they'll go out and they'll
wipe the dew off the.

tool but also the really wide janitor brooms that they'll
go by doing that.

Too so, yeah you may hear somebody needs to wipe their.
Grass yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah this guy's funny right.

Speaker 8 (02:32:30):
Here so it's for just getting the do. Off why
DO i want to do off? Off, well they there's
a few different. Reasons there's the magnifying glass effect that
happens when the sun comes up and with the water
drops stand on your, grass it oddly acts like a
magnifying glass and kind of fries your grass a little.

Speaker 2 (02:32:49):
Bit good heard this before.

Speaker 7 (02:32:51):
Speeding, yeah that's why some people say not to water
your grass in the heat of the, day, right, yeah, exactly, yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:32:58):
Yeah but, look get that. Though it's going take him.
Forever but, Again i'm not a. Landscape do you just
naturally occurring just dry? It stuff? Up about the rest
of the plants in the, world they're in the, woods

Speaker 8 (02:33:44):

They do these cross hatch designs with the more and.
Everything here's WHAT i do a circle as fast AS i.
Can i'm just trying to get this my grass. Shorter
that's WHAT i.

Speaker 2 (02:33:58):
Want here's WHAT i. DO i hire a company to do.
It how about?

Speaker 8 (02:34:02):
That, okay that's a the whole different, thing.

Speaker 2 (02:34:04):
Right that one's the best you.

Speaker 8 (02:34:07):

that's going on. Poorly you, know you're, like you're like,
that you, know that's it's. Difficult, no if you had
your loved one back from, eternity we wouldn't do things

That hurt you didn't have to, Switch, off no it's not.

Speaker 23 (03:05:02):
It, carl.

Speaker 4 (03:05:05):
Carl it ain't got no gas?

Speaker 8 (03:05:07):
IN it i chanced it had it had old it
had old gas. In IT so, i emptied emptied the,
gas tank putting new fuel, in it drained, the, carburetor
uh and even even added oil because after, A day, i'm,
like okay and. It's raining by, the way it was
raining on me the, entire time And so i'm. So
angry i'm just. Soaking wet and it would, turn over

(03:05:33):
you know when, it goes and, you're like all, right
now the next one it'll go the next the, Next one.
I'm in it kept doing that to me and faking
me out over and over.

Speaker 2 (03:05:43):
From the next one was, a crank and the next
crank was actually worse than. The one you thought, All
this That's what.

Speaker 8 (03:05:47):
I'm saying it tricked. Me out it tricked me so
many times Over and, i'm like fool me a. Thousand
times my my elbow hurts from the amount OF times
i pulled on THIS and i. Pull it i'm in.
TRUE fuel i got sugar.

Speaker 2 (03:06:02):
In it, i'm sorry but there's that makes me if
you want me to lose, my temper that's something, not.

Speaker 8 (03:06:09):
Crank y'all i'm gonna go speaking. IN tongues i. WASN'T
cussing i.

Speaker 2 (03:06:13):

Speaker 4 (03:06:18):
I.

Speaker 2 (03:06:18):
Stopped, Push, YEAH.

Speaker 8 (03:06:23):
Smatsburger, i think IS what i that's, pretty, good. Yeah
y'all and it's to the, point where, you know when
you're trying to get something started in your neighborhood and,
you're you you pull the crank of quite a, few
times and you're kind of embarrassed, because, like oh now
the Neighborhood knows i'm struggling to it went past that
IN which i don't even, care Anymore and i'm. Just scrolling.
You're angry i'm just Pulling because. I'm angry and then

(03:06:46):
you stop pulling and you just walk away for. A
second you kind of just like have to just like
circle for a second and really work on your temper and.
Your ANGER so I guess i just went to anger
management for three hours this. Past weekend never got, It
cranked never got.

Speaker 7 (03:06:59):
A crank i've talked to, mine before like, gott Mad
like i've done something and, just going ah and see
how MANY times i can pull it in?

Speaker 2 (03:07:06):
Ten seconds, been there You'll do and it's pouring rain.

Speaker 8 (03:07:16):
ON me i emptied, THE gas i cleaned, THE car
i checked right, oil FILTER and i have jeans on
after the FIRST and i had jeans On because i'm
about the, pressure, wash jeans. THE pressure i like having jeans.

Speaker 2 (03:07:28):
On when a.

Speaker 8 (03:07:28):
Pressure wash that's JUST how. I am i, WEAR sunglasses
i wear JEANS when i. Pressure shirt.

Speaker 2 (03:07:36):
Jeans are so hot if you were, weed eating maybe
so still find.

Speaker 8 (03:07:42):
And after the hour and a half the, FIRST day
i did some more RESEARCH and i saw that this
particular pressure washer has a low oil. Cut Off And
i'm i'm. All happy, i'm like, oh yeah. That's IT
so i went and. GOT oil, I mean I took
i wasted so much of my weekend this. PAST weekend
I took ezra to home depot for no.

Speaker 2 (03:08:02):
No, reason okay. For reason.

Speaker 8 (03:08:07):
It was a good father son. Bonding time, BUT y'all
i had to admit DEFEAT for i think except for
that mini BIKE when i was in like fifth GRADE
that i couldn't get. To crank and THIS is i
had to. Admit defeat i'm a loser.

Speaker 2 (03:08:18):
In it, it's like what's, Gonna happen what's. GONNA happen
i gotta take.

Speaker 8 (03:08:22):
It SOMEWHERE and i don't like saying that as, a
Man while i'm claiming to be more Handy. Than rick,
