we'll be listening to one of our former shows in
the first seven months of the show and enjoy that.
And today on the program, we get you ready, we'll

(02:37):
talk a little America today. Can you defeat Greg Burgess
and write again? Watch out write again? Another strong topic
for Greg today the Andy Griffith Show. That may be tough.
He's not as savvy there as he is on music,
but he's pretty savvy. Yeah, Dell earnhard and music. I

(02:59):
know much more about true this is gonna be a
tough one for me. We'll see. I know a lot,
but there's a lot to know real deep. We're going.
We're deep diving. Now when when we first started, I'm like,
I'm right, whether him or not. Yeah, well you got
to be. I may fake you off for that, like
I'm wrong, know I'm right, Just you never know about
this little rate the ways he is got in. Ah

(03:19):
got into a bit of a tift with my wife
yesterday involving Greg. Really yeah, well, she kept out, she
kept doubt me on some things, and I said, I'm
telling you I'm right about this, and she of course immediately,
you know, now everybody's got their phone, so they can
they think they can, you know, prove themselves right. And

(03:40):
of course there were a couple of things I threw
out and she did her background working on and I
was right. And when I said this, I says, this
feels big Greg, And she said, what did you say?
I said, I guess must be what it feels like
to be Greg. And she goes, what do you mean?
I said, you know, right again that rolls the eyes

(04:01):
of this Oh yeah. That. I didn't go out ever,
it didn't go great. When all of a sudden I
turned back to the ten and two on the wheel
and saiden, this must be what it feels like to
be great things a little worried about Andy Griffith a
little worried. Yeah, well there's some there there, there's some
stuff out there that I tried to take it. We

(04:23):
got we got people in the audience that help. Now
they'll send stuff in and they'll do some research too,
and and so they're helping out a little bit too
because they're all thinking of that.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
You know.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
I think now it's become the audience wants to see
if they can throw Greg a curve by suggesting questions
to ask and stuff. And they send some good stuff.
So we have that. We got hey birds today, some
great emails, uh, people wanting us to uh to ponder
and discuss a few topics. Uh. So we have that
that coming out this weekend. UH. No strange encounters. So

(04:55):
this is a great time for you, not a new one,
so go catch up on the ones that you already have.
We did do a brand new Wednesday Bible study yesterday,
so that is done. And Don Day for two weeks
in a row, is back completely healthy, doing great, probably
a lot of it thanks to Greg's prayers, and he
brought Greg dry roasted peanuts, etc.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
I need to ask Greg a question and I want
you to be honest. This is real talk here, all right,
just us be honest.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Just put it out there.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
Are you Are you happier okay, that that Don Day's
feeling better, like for him personally as a person, or
that you have peanuts here today?

Speaker 1 (05:34):
That's the peanuts are a bonus. I said, no, it's
one of the others. Are you happy for the man
that he feels better? Are you just happy you have peanuts?
I want to say this, Don has got a new lease.
He's done away with his pain, and I hope he
just enjoys that and he doesn't have to bring me
any peanuts. You know what I ever forced him in
the first place. But what you're saying is the fact

(05:55):
that his pain is gone probably means he's back to
doing the things he loves them, bringing me peanuts.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
Greg, you don't like politicians, and you're sounding like, okay,
peanuts are dying.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
I mean, you can't choose between peanuts.

Speaker 4 (06:11):
Or Don Peanuts saying peanuts.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
I want done to be in pain again. No, you're
just I think you are saying. I think you have
forgotten about the man Don Day, and you're just happy
about that. Greg's saying a bag full of peanuts means
good news. Don's doing great when I every time when
I go, you know what this means? It means done?
Are you his counsel? Yes, I'm going peanuts and done,
and I see it in that order, in that order.

(06:37):
Have you noticed it? He doesn't even come to me anymore.
Don goes and puts him on Greg's desk. Yeah, he
didn't give them anymore.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
Looks worn out too from having to do it.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
I was watching Greg. He was so excited to have them.
It's like he thought they had little legs. You're trying
to eat him so fast and everybody they're not. They're
not going anywhere. But you're a burgess yeast.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
We do eat fast. So also, so Job Chapter twenty,
Job Chapter twenty. That's brand new, so grab that on
the archives if you didn't get that yesterday. Will we

in Ricking Bubby history. Enjoy those. There's twenty five episodes
of that new podcast. That you can enjoy as you travel. Now,
I'm just gonna go ahead. I don't want to be
Debbie Downer, Okay, I don't. But if you're flying and
you haven't gotten there yet and you hadn't left yet,

(07:38):
you got problems.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
Yeah, you got serious problem. You got problems. You need
to do some prep work. You need to go ahead,
download all these podcasts. Get them on your device anyway
when you're listing forever forever.

Speaker 1 (07:52):

about delays yesterday.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
Oh yeah, so you know you got this system in
the Gulf of America going through some of Florida, and
Hobie was headed down that way and he said, they're
already back backing up. I mean he was just sitting there.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
Oh you're not.

Speaker 3 (08:09):
Heis, like, I got everything. You know you say, you
got to get prepared. I ain't going anywhere you can
see you listen.

Speaker 1 (08:13):

of America. And so you'll be saying that centennial, what
is it, Simmy Quinn Centennial? I'm here all we I'm
not sure if is that the voice you're going to?

Speaker 5 (08:52):
Well?

Speaker 1 (08:52):
What is your patriotic voice?

Speaker 6 (08:54):
Us?

Speaker 1 (08:54):
A little of that, honest Dave. I've got plenty to
say because they've sent me the script. Okay, my favorite one.
You have to just go with e th ol dallast
and all that my favorites. When I printed out the script,
put it in a folder for a score, and then
the next day they said, oh there's an adjustment on
the script, so we've changed it and printed. Yeah it
is folded. Uh, people can just write it out for

(09:18):
you the right handwriting Hello everybody and welcome to the
American Village. Is that it? So? Tonight fireworks Extravaganza is
coming your way. Let's all try to say it next year,
Simmi Quin Centennial. You can do it. People. Oh so
going there wit checked. If that's right, I just Q.

(09:41):
Here's what I'm going. Here's what I'm Here's what's right again, Greg, Okay,
here's what I will say. My wife knows me it
is Rick, but the rest of y'all know me better.
Is Speeder. You know it better. People worried about chen
three day weekend for mister Chaw about him.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
When you said that, he looked up like, oh they
forgot he had a fish.

Speaker 4 (10:01):
It's not accurate at all.

Speaker 6 (10:02):
Yeah, you all want him to die so you can
laugh at me about it.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
My friend is dying, mister Chancey, happy fourth that July
you yankee.

Speaker 4 (10:11):
Dog, he's doing good.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
Give him a little bit more. He's gonna know for
the three day weekend. Just fill it up in there?

Speaker 4 (10:17):
What water more waters out? Just food when you wa
you're up in there. That's not how you You don't
know how.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
Just you sprinkle it up, buddy, Little cloudy Greg, he
doesn't need to get to Saturday and be starving.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
Go on Wednesday, Ady, coming back waterless?

Speaker 4 (10:32):
So cloudy, it doesn't look cloudy. That's the glare.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
It is class Jim catch knocking in here.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
Yeah, he sees nothing but the United States and freedom.

Speaker 7 (10:40):
He is the Rick Burdgers show.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
So tomorrow, fourth of July Independence Day forty nine years ago.
This was a true no kings day when we told
to King George Kramit and off we went, so so
off to American village. Tomorrow. You know, you can go
back in time. You can hear from Ben Franklin. You

(11:10):
can hear from George Washington right in the middle of him,
Rick Bird. You can hear from time. Hello, everybody, y'all,
enjoy your day off. I'm good, y'all, don't worry about it.
I'm fine. I'm fine. I'm perfectly fine. So maybe you
can enjoy it up to about three o'clock. Well right now,
as we all know, when you do what we do,
and a lot of you do it, we're not the
only ones. But anytime you know, your job calls early,

(11:35):
if there's a day that that early call is not there,
that's vacation ended up self. Just not the yeah, no alarm.
Everything after that is you know you're all over there.

Speaker 6 (11:43):
Yeah, every time I wake up in the morning, I
turn off my alarm, but then I turn it right
back on, you know, so it's set for the next
day and I didn't do that this morning, and that
felt great.

Speaker 4 (11:54):
Right, Oh my goodness.

Speaker 3 (11:56):
Adler, I turned mine off too, and the backup I'm like, well,
won't need that.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
Yeah, I take it.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
How about those mornings you're off and you still wake
up and you get mad at yourself, like go back
to sleep, put im do.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
Up in the like running across the room. I go,
wait a minute, right, so yeah, I'm late, So he
you know. Here's the opposite. All right, let's do this.
Here's the opposite. When when people who have an early
rise have a day off, everybody always talks about how
long you can sleep. I'm not gonna ask that question. Okay,
I'm gonna ask how late does it have to be

(12:31):
before you say? Okay? I think I'm okay, I'm gona
get up. What's too early to get up on your
day off? Let's go the other way. I would like
to get up at eight, Okay, anything pre eight is
too early? When am I going to bed? That's that's key.
It just doesn't matter to me. I'm gonna sleep that
I've tried. I mean, I honestly, if I let myself,

(12:51):
I think I could sleep fifteen hours. Yeah, if I
let myself that's one of the others though. See, I
find myself angry that I can't stay up longer at
the night before. Oh no, no, that's the fact. Fridays
are just ruined for me. Here's what you just you
do the math.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
We've been up for quite some time, and so it
gets to be nine thirty on a Friday night, and
it's that's late for us.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
If I go to a ball game or something some reason,
it doesn't affect me. But yeah, you're where you're at. Yeah,
but if you go to that late, you've been up
for nineteen hours yet, go ahead. If I'm home on
Friday nights, I can't. I can't. Sometimes I party in
step till ten. Watch out, Watch out. Now, So you
go to bed. Let's say you go to bed. Let's
say tonight you go to bed at ten. Okay, what

(13:32):
is too early to get up tomorrow? On a day
too early? Too early? Six? Yeah, so you you're just
gonna be plus seven for you, plus eight for you,
probably six thirty or seven.

Speaker 3 (13:42):
I would get up because I've already getting eight and
a half nine hours sleep.

Speaker 1 (13:46):
Minus seven thirty. Really yeah, if I, if I, if
I see anything prior to seven thirty, I won't get up. Yeah,
seven thirty anything, seven thirty or after, I'll get up now, now, Adler,
we don't have small kids. Sometimes the alarm is then
do they sleep in? Do they sleep in much on
Saturday mornings? Or are they early rides tomorrow? Are they
going to sleep in?

Speaker 4 (14:05):
Seven oh one? Is the time? Is it that the
kids will get up? Yes?

Speaker 6 (14:10):
But I'm actually taking the kids to the grandparents today,
going to Mimi Thor Camp as we call it. Oh,
MEMI we got Thor and the kids are going to
Mimi Thor Camp.

Speaker 4 (14:24):
Oh nice, So that's gonna be great.

Speaker 7 (14:27):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (14:27):
The wife and I actually booked.

Speaker 6 (14:29):
A little I booked it a little cabin next to
a stream, uh in North Carolina.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
What we were nice, We were going.

Speaker 4 (14:38):
To go there.

Speaker 6 (14:40):
Uh, and then earlier this week we just canceled it.
We said, that's a five hour drive. We'll add ten
hours to our kid free time if we don't go.
So we just canceled it. We're staying in town.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
You went vacation and then back to staycation.

Speaker 4 (14:56):
Yes, I think that was a win for me.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
I love Yeah, yeah, did your did your wife hopefully
hope hope she brought up canceling it.

Speaker 6 (15:06):
She did, but also because I had not shown her
the place yet, I was going to surprise her, and wow,
she was really disappointed. She said, that's not a cabin,
that's a trailer. And I said, but it is right
next to a beautiful river, and she said it's I mean,
it's kind of it. I feel like there's some concrete
on either side of that river right there, you know.

Speaker 4 (15:25):
So that played into it too.

Speaker 1 (15:27):
So it wasn't as nice as I thought.

Speaker 6 (15:30):
It was nice when I booked it like three months ago.
I thought it was really nice.

Speaker 4 (15:37):
This is gonna be great.

Speaker 1 (15:39):
When you when you first mentioned and everything and two bathrooms,
which is huge. Yeah, I mean you first brought it
in it sounded awesome. I thought, man, great idea. And
now you're I'm now becoming I see now why y'all
cancel it.

Speaker 6 (15:52):
We have different standards, I guess because I saw her
face when I showed it to her this weekend and
she was like, that is not as good as I
was hoping it would be.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
And so we Yeah, but you did pick up ten
hours of not being in an automobile at home. Let
me throw this, that's the deposit.

Speaker 4 (16:10):
But that's that's fine.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
It's worth it.

Speaker 4 (16:12):
Yeah, that's worth ten hours in the car.

Speaker 1 (16:14):
Let me let me throw this at you too. Here's
the bad part, and I hate to side with your
wife on this one, but the picture is always as
good as it could possibly look. Yeah, don't look nothing
like the picture.

Speaker 6 (16:27):
Now.

Speaker 1 (16:27):
Usually I've gotten places many times I'm like, not quite
as nice as the picture.

Speaker 6 (16:31):
Yes, there was a fire pit overlooking a river, and
she said that that's a stream, not a river, or
something like that.

Speaker 4 (16:37):
Drainage ditch. She might have used the words drainage ditch.

Speaker 1 (16:40):
Ya.

Speaker 6 (16:40):
That's not a cabin, that's a trailer. I'm like, hey,
that's wow.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
So basically, you had you booked a romantic weekend in
the trailer by a drainage ditch.

Speaker 4 (16:50):
That's what she seemed to think.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
Go to that.

Speaker 4 (16:54):
I canceled it.

Speaker 6 (16:54):
Yeah, yeah, lost the deposit, but you know, I started
doing the you said that on the drive, uh, and
the math on the drive, you know, and if you.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
Get there, you yeah, right, that's by the way. That's too.
Probably that's a tank of gas. And then Phillip again,
that's what I was thinking, gas rick. Let me ask
you this. You saw her face when she saw the picture.
Imagine if you'd have got there and she stepped out.

Speaker 4 (17:18):
It's good that I disappointed her early rather than alway.

Speaker 1 (17:23):
And I'm sure there's no mosquitoes there, right.

Speaker 4 (17:25):
You know you got to think about all that.

Speaker 6 (17:27):
Uh, we're staying home, staycation. I'm sitting around at the house.
Probably gonna have to clean the garage. But you know
that's okay.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
But you know, when you have little kids, if they're
at their grandparents for any period of time, no matter
where you are, it's a break.

Speaker 4 (17:41):
Yeah, oh yes, yes, yeh.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
Now you got his Franklin and Kevin boarding.

Speaker 4 (17:46):
The dogs kept the boarding.

Speaker 8 (17:48):
Did you like that?

Speaker 1 (17:52):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (17:52):
Empty house, totally empty house. It's gonna be fantastic.

Speaker 6 (17:57):
And and and the fireworks issue. Some years the dogs
don't go crazy. Some years the dogs bark every time
a firework goes off.

Speaker 4 (18:05):
I didn't want to deal with that either, So staycase.
Shit about walking around the house with pant song.

Speaker 6 (18:14):
I didn't like to say that an empty house.

Speaker 4 (18:18):
You know, you get it.

Speaker 7 (18:19):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (18:28):
Okay, So before we jump back in, this is great.
I want to tell you this week is the only
week this happens never happened before with Blaze TV. Fourth
of July. Now that is truly no King's Day, because
that's what it's all about. I mean, we told King
George to go kick rocks. Okay, we reject the idea
and we did remember this war settlebrating. Hey, monarchy, no elites,

(18:50):
no unaccountable power, thumbs down. We chose and we said,
well do we have to do to be ruled by
we the people? Now that's the spirit behind Independence Day.
But we didn't just break it with England. We built
something better, a constitutional republic grounded in liberty, individual rights
and God given freedom. No kings, no tyrants, just self

(19:11):
governance under the rule of law. Now to celebrate our
independence from the crown and everything that Blaze TV also
stands for. What rejecting mainstream media and them ruling like
tyrants over information. So we're going to do something we've
never done before here at Blaze TV. How about seven

(20:15):
watching today and let freedom stream. But it is a
big story and it really kind of ties in to
the new podcasts we're doing strange encounters about spiritual warfare.
So much evil in the world, and many times this

(20:35):
evil is no more complicated than demonic forces possessing people.
Brian Coberger would be in that group because of just
the cold blooded massacre of these young people and Idaho.
If you remember we updated you a few days ago

(20:58):
that the families were caught by a prize, that a
plea bargain had been brought to the table, which means
he would not receive the death penalty, he would get
life imprisonment with no chance for parole correct and no appeals,
no appeals for life sentences, so he's never getting Yeah,

(21:21):
but the family said the problem with that for them
is they didn't know about it. They weren't mainly prepared
for that option. This means that they'll continue to have
to relive this. Some of them felt like that wouldn't
there would be no closure whatever. They still have to
deal with this person, even though they would be in prison,

(21:41):
you know, but still dealing with them. And they just
didn't like that. This was not what they thought was
going to happen. Yeah. Normally they checked with the families.
I think at least asked their opinion, and one of
the families is okay with it. But I think there's
four and you say four.

Speaker 3 (21:56):
There's four victims, so for families and one of them
is okay.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
But the point is, I think with the fact they
didn't ask him to the problem. Yeah, but they didn't.
You go, look, if he gets the other you're gonna
have to deal with the pills. You're gonna have to
deal with all this from now and then we can
be done with this. He never gets out closure, yeah,
and you don't have to come to any appeals.

Speaker 3 (22:16):
And they haven't said some of these life uh, these
you know, death sentences. They are prolonged and they have
been mixed up, you know, long drawn out. Yeah, nobody,
I mean it'd be twenty years. Yeah, but Rick, I
was I turned on the TV. It just so happened.
It was in the background just as they went live
and the judge started speaking to everybody.

Speaker 9 (22:36):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (22:36):
And the first thing he did, and Adler has some
of this, is he apologized to the families. He said,
I didn't even know of this deal till Monday afternoon.

Speaker 4 (22:45):
Wow. Wow.

Speaker 6 (22:46):
And then Speedy, you also made I thought you were
going to go into what he was questioning him.

Speaker 1 (22:50):
Oh yeah yeah.

Speaker 3 (22:51):
So then so then it was interesting to see and
all you lawyers and and and everything.

Speaker 1 (22:56):
You you've you've you've experienced it. But it's tough.

Speaker 3 (22:59):
It's really interesting to see go into a courtroom and
hear how this plays out. But anytime you're pleading guilty
to anything, you have to make sure that you know, hey,
do you understand what you're doing? Are you are are
you mentally okay? Have you taken anything like drugs or
alcohol that's you know, impaired your thinking? Has your law

(23:21):
you're explained everything to you? Do you understand the consequences
of what you've done and all the and so he
runs the list of things for probably twenty minutes, and
Coburger is saying yes to this, yes to that. So
then he gets to did you because it was a
felony robbery and four counts of first degree murder And
he went through and said did you do this? And

(23:44):
then he answers here it is.

Speaker 2 (23:46):
Did you on November thirteenth, twenty twenty two enter the
residents at one one two two King Road in Moscow, Idaho,
with the intent to commit the felony crime of murder?

Speaker 7 (23:59):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (24:01):
Did you.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
On November thirteenth, twenty twenty two in Leaytah County, State
of Idaho kill and murder Madison Mogan a human being?

Speaker 4 (24:15):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (24:16):
And did you do that wilfully and lawfully, deliberately and
with premeditation and melics a forethought?

Speaker 1 (24:22):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (24:24):
Did you Honor about that same date in Moscow, Idaho
kill and murder Kaylee Gonzalez a human being?

Speaker 1 (24:32):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (24:33):
And did you do that wilfully and lawfully, deliberately and
with premeditation and malicea forethought?

Speaker 4 (24:39):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (24:41):
And did you on that same date in Moscow, Idaho
killing me and.

Speaker 4 (24:45):
So you guys get the idea and wow, so speedy.

Speaker 6 (24:48):
You were saying that this kind of puts them in
a situation where he can't appeal and you know what
you did, right kind of deal.

Speaker 3 (24:56):
Yeah, And a lot of the legal analysts were talking
about as bad as this was for the families that
weren't giving the heads up like Greg's talking about. And
that was the big thing with them is they weren't
part of the decision making. They feel like part of
the prosecution's thought process was that you never know what
a jury is going to do, the appeal process, how

(25:17):
it could be drug out to know that he's getting
four life sentences, we'll never see the light of a day,
the day without.

Speaker 1 (25:24):
Chance of parole.

Speaker 3 (25:25):
He cannot appeal that they took it knowing that he
would go away forever.

Speaker 4 (25:30):
One of the father of Kaylee, he was not happy.

Speaker 1 (25:35):
No, he didn't go in. He stood outside and would
not go in.

Speaker 4 (25:39):
And here he is talking about that.

Speaker 1 (25:42):
It's terrible.

Speaker 4 (25:42):
You don't think four life sentences is justice?

Speaker 7 (25:46):
No, PSI.

Speaker 4 (25:54):
Do what you know? I mean, for if people die
in their sleep, you know, if we have four other
people that were excuse us, the sweet beat, the death penalty.

Speaker 1 (26:06):
Kim get shames enough what happened Tony.

Speaker 3 (26:09):
Now, one thing the judge did say, Rick is that
he said that what he's pleading guilty to is the
harshest of the decision of you know, like, in other words,
you're getting you, You're getting life without a chance of parole.
I can't in sentencing, which is on July twenty third,
I can't be any hard. In other words, I can't

(26:30):
go no, I don't like this. I'm giving you the
death penalty, he said. Now I can, I can ease
the burden, but I can't get I can't give you
more severe And on July twenty third two the families
are going to be able to speak directly to Coburger
and and air their grievances and let him know what
he's done, so that they're going to at least have
a voice to where they can speak directly to him.

Speaker 1 (26:52):
Yeah, I understand the dad's frustration. I would, I would respectfully,
And I'm not feeling what he's feeling. And acknowledge that
daycare is a little somebody like this that did something
this wicked. You know, when you're thrown into prison with
people that are there for you know, arm robbery. They're
there for. You know, when when somebody this wicked comes

(27:15):
in killing young people in their sleep, they're not celebrated,
you know, you know they they I don't think he'll
have an easy time if he's put, you know, in
the kind of penitentiary he's likely going to. Life for
him will not it won't be daycare. But and I
think as everybody even text nations saying this to what

(27:36):
you said, Speedy and you guys, this, if they'll just
kind of settle down, probably is going to be the
best shot at closure they have because he has no
way out. Like y'all baul have said, you throw in
that death penalty in a jury, you don't know what's
going to happen. And and I understand the desire for

(27:59):
it do oh yeah, but this is a way that
I don't see many options for him to do anything
other than die in prison. Yeah. And it's it's not Dacre. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (28:13):
And Dy even said that it could be that this
this deal was already on the table.

Speaker 1 (28:17):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (28:17):
And when the defense kind of exhausted, what they felt
like were like at one point they were like, no,
there was four there was four people that broke into
the house. It wasn't coburger, you know, when they exhausted
all of that and nothing was was he was.

Speaker 1 (28:30):
Working, riding around looking at stars. Yeah. Yeah. The way
they got him is incredible. Yeah. The DNA, Yeah, you know,
they went through ancestry and all that and built a
tree started out to the said like cousins, and then
they can link him. And then they also had a
surveillance of the make a car that was around that
scene around that time, and they matched he owned. Once

(28:51):
they got his name, they matched him that he owned
that type of car.

Speaker 3 (28:54):
I mean, well, even going back to like his parents'
garbage in Pennsylvania, going through the.

Speaker 1 (28:58):
Garbageeah, it's some about to tie to his Yeah, what
did he leave at the scene that gave them the DNA?
She oh, okay, and it had some DNA on it
they tried. That's amazing.

Speaker 6 (29:09):
It's so there's just so much evil and horribleness to
the story. You know, cell phone data put him at
their house several times before this occurred, Is that correct, Spitty?

Speaker 3 (29:22):
Yeah, Yeah, he uh, he had a place right across
the state line. I think he was, uh, he was
trying to get a PhD in criminal just at Washington
State and and but the cell phone pinging had him
in that neighborhood kind of stuck between ten pm and
four am, multiple nights in a row.

Speaker 6 (29:38):
Kind of stalking the scoping it out, horrible and uh,
praying for the families.

Speaker 1 (29:44):
Yeah, all right, we'll be back. Oh, somebody sent us
a picture on textanation of the Wallace Memorial in scott Nice, Adam,
I so see you in Scotland.

Speaker 4 (30:06):
I've been Yeah, I need you back.

Speaker 1 (30:09):
Yeah, yeah, I can see you there back then, I
really can't. It's so I want to warn Adler. I
want to warn Greg and I've received a warning myself.
These kinds of lists infuriate us, and that's why that's
why I want to do it here. Okay, you want
to hear the commentary to bring it on to celebrate America.

(30:31):
Of course, there's all kinds of lists that get out
Eldering this time speedy ironically will now weigh in on
the music. Well, I'm going to present it. He's going
to present it to us. What is this because it's
called show prep. But you know your subject and you're
you're not allowed.

Speaker 3 (30:48):
Well, here's the thing I feel like if I can
present it. I just sit back and hear y'all's commentary
on it.

Speaker 1 (30:54):
But Rick was the one that accused you not knowing
I thought. I never said a lot of the history
behind I know. You know. That's why I enjoy I
really do. I'm not kidding.

Speaker 3 (31:04):
I'm looking forward to this because I love the discussion
of different bands and music and and all that. I
love to hear it because I learned a lot from y'all.

Speaker 1 (31:13):
I really do, right, Yeah, I feel the same way
about baseball when you teach me just as balls where
he's at.

Speaker 3 (31:22):
But staying with the American theme, since Independence Days this
week and we're all thinking about it, it's going to
be American Village hosting the fireworks show, even though the
local media is not talking about it.

Speaker 1 (31:38):
I'll be there with my own people.

Speaker 3 (31:40):
Our friends at Ultimate Classic Rock dot com ultimately put
together what they say is the top fifty American bands.

Speaker 1 (31:50):
Crucial because we've got a lot of bands that aren't American.

Speaker 3 (31:52):
And they say this was probably the toughest list they've
ever had to put together, because you know, genres have
gone through different stages. You've got the different evolutions of
like you had your fault time your your garage, your punk,
your metal, all this and all that, and so they
say through history it's you know, we've had a lot

(32:13):
of changes. But do y'all believe this? They say that
rock and roll inherently is an American creation, though even
though those in the UK will argue they feel like.

Speaker 1 (32:24):
It's no doubt, no, no, no no, because if you
ask the people like the Beatles and all of them,
they would say.

Speaker 4 (32:28):
Chuck Berry, right, they stole from them.

Speaker 8 (32:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (32:32):
Mainly rock and roll came from our American black culture.
Yeah right, that's where it came from. Now.

Speaker 3 (32:41):
They they did say that they have put together here
at Ultimate Classic Rock dot Com American bands like of
the sixties, seventies, eighties, and nineties, but they decided to
tackle a master list just of putting them all together
and doing the top fifty American rock bands of all time.
I'm going to hate this now they did. They did
exclude solo acts, so that's why you're not going to

(33:02):
hear a Bruce Springstein or a Billy.

Speaker 1 (33:04):
Joel or Prince or whatever.

Speaker 3 (33:06):
They also left out bands that have foreign members, even
if they're predominantly American.

Speaker 1 (33:12):
Oh really, yes, keep them out. Yeah, So we don't
consider Bruce Springsteen in the East Street Band an American
he did have.

Speaker 3 (33:20):
They were just saying, because they consider Bruce.

Speaker 6 (33:25):
You are defending Bruce because you want Sieger in Rick,
I know what you're doing.

Speaker 1 (33:29):
And the Silver Bullies, Tom Petty and the Yes.

Speaker 3 (33:37):
Band just telling you what they said. They use Bruce
Springsteen not being on the list as the reason because.

Speaker 1 (33:44):
It's it's the Street band. They just said, hey, you're
out pretty good band to throw out. I will say this,
they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of
Fame as a separate from Bruce. Really, and I may
be wrong, but I don't think I am. And y'all
know how they goes right by the way. Coming up
on the program today, another round of right Again with

(34:04):
Greg So I love it. Our topic today, Andy Griffith.

Speaker 3 (34:08):
So in the top fifty all time American bands list.
In an effort not to give you too many, I'll
just go ten to one and then y'all can y'all
can ask why in it?

Speaker 1 (34:19):
Coming in at number ten? Simon and Garfunk, Oh my goodness,
I'm sorry. What's a duo? Oh my gosh, I'm sorry,
we're off. We're off. But Simon and garfunk band. Oh
we're already fighting.

Speaker 4 (34:35):
That's a yes.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
Coming in at number nine Eagles, Okay at nine at night.
That's low. That's low, but I will see. I love it.
They're definitely top ten. I agree, we do Greg their
top five, top eight.

Speaker 3 (34:49):
Just you look at his face when I do this,
Just stare at him. Coming in at number eight.

Speaker 1 (34:54):
R E M. I'm shutting the show down. That's it.
Never mind, we're done.

Speaker 4 (34:58):
I mind it off start.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
Of all time.

Speaker 4 (35:02):
Oh, this is a bat.

Speaker 1 (35:04):
You put R e M ahead of the Eagles. Did
that just happen? What are they even doing near the top?
The song stand should have them thrown out of the
whole thing. Yeah. If I could take the entire library
of R e M and use it to start a
far this weekend, I would. Yeah. Not only are th

(35:24):
in the top ten, they're ahead of the Eaglesbelievable.

Speaker 3 (35:27):
Come out Ultimate classerrock dot Com Top fifty American Bands
of all Time at number seven, Talking Heads.

Speaker 1 (35:34):
Unbelievable. It's not a band.

Speaker 10 (35:36):
I mean, I know I'm being torture a band, but
it's like almost it's a weird art show.

Speaker 1 (35:40):
I mean, I mean I'm in torture right now. I
mean tortured. Never forget. It's a mix of art rock
and new wave.

Speaker 4 (35:48):
The first Talking Heads.

Speaker 1 (35:49):
Yeah whatever, But the first time I ever.

Speaker 4 (35:51):
Saw it on this list. Listen on this list.

Speaker 1 (35:53):
They came out when MTV first came out and they
had that video you med Vunge just living in the
good that was the weird that was big over us.

Speaker 4 (36:04):
Not rocking song, but rock.

Speaker 1 (36:06):
Well.

Speaker 4 (36:06):
I know if I can have an opinion.

Speaker 1 (36:09):
No, you can't. If I don't hear the Alman Brothers
and Skinnered pretty soon, I'm gonna come on gluten here,
somebody thank you.

Speaker 3 (36:18):
Coming in at number six of the all time top
fifty American bands, tell me six the Doors.

Speaker 1 (36:26):
I don't like the Doors, but I guess I could
see them because of So that's the thing. Is this
about who I like or who I don't like? If
it's not and I'm trying to, you know, step back
and look, I guess they should be in it because
of not really they suck. I love how you're talking
about trying to talk about the Doors.

Speaker 4 (36:43):
They're overrated. I like the Doors. They're overrated.

Speaker 1 (36:46):
I thought the Doors were not from America. Number five
I was surprised to Aerosmith know that they should are
definitely there. That's why I'm fine with that. I can
live with that. Number four C c R. Yeah, live
with that. Readers revival must be yes, all right? Number
three Van Halen, Yeah, I'm good, all right, We're getting better.

(37:09):
Say or it's a great question.

Speaker 3 (37:13):
It's says here original singer David Lee Roth and also
says Sammy Hagar. Okay, so I guess they're just saying
it all together.

Speaker 1 (37:21):
Yeah, that's a good man. Number two Tom Petty and
the Heartbreaker, but didn't include d street Man. How can
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers be considered a band? But
Bruce Bringes, I guess that he went off on his own, right?
Did he? Did he have?

Speaker 5 (37:38):
I know?

Speaker 3 (37:38):
But this is this is Tom Petty and the Heartbreak
the time did cut a solo records? Yeah, maybe that's
what he's saying. Well, couldn't they do?

Speaker 9 (37:45):
Tom?

Speaker 1 (37:46):
Tom did two Spello record? He did? But are you ready?

Speaker 4 (37:49):
This is a hypocritical list, Adler.

Speaker 3 (37:51):
I don't want to get you in trouble, but give
me my channel if you don't mind. Number one, uh,
the number one, all time, all time, best all American
band is.

Speaker 1 (38:07):
The Beach Boys. Oh my gosh, good lord, that's it.
Rick left just left. Rick just falls off and walked
across the road. I don't think they should Well, wow,

(38:28):
do you'all realize what just what what we're saying here?
We're saying the Beach Boys are the best American band ever.
I'll take them over of all time.

Speaker 4 (38:37):
They're better than R. E. M. But they're not They're
not number one.

Speaker 1 (38:41):
We're saying that they're they're eight slots better than the
Eagles of that.

Speaker 4 (38:46):
That's crazy talk.

Speaker 1 (38:47):
They're better than Tom Pitty and the Heartbreakers.

Speaker 4 (38:49):
Well, the Doobie Brothers even on.

Speaker 1 (38:51):
Here to fifth. Let me just say that they went
through critical acclaim as counting commercial sales, uh, longevity of
the band, uh, popularity of the group. Uh you know,
all this kind of stuff was was factored in R. E. M.
In Alman Brothers not right, Where's Metallica? Where Skinner Skinner

(39:16):
that wrote sweed Home Alabama? Ain't even into deb Dean.

Speaker 4 (39:19):
Uh it's zz talk.

Speaker 3 (39:21):
Okay, all right, I'll tell y'all, all right, number let's
see here of course. Yeah, so number twenty five was
kiss if You Go by Alice Cooper at the band
at number twenty four. Uh, let's see some other note.
Grateful Dad at twenty two, Over the Cars twenty one,
Leonard Skinner twenty.

Speaker 1 (39:43):
Oh my god, I think Skinner should be about. Simon
and Garfunkel is number ten and Lenyard is twenty. Simon
and Garfunkels shouldn't even be around. I don't like r em,
but they are a band, okay, garfuncle mate George Strait
look like he's putting on the garth Brook. The Beach
Boys number one, the Dog Beach Boys Surfing USA number
one number. We don't even let Springsteen in the East

(40:04):
Street man in. I would be okay with doing his
solo over here like they did with Tom Petty and
his band here. He and his band are a band
and he needs in and they were I'm not even
I'm not. I don't even like him as much as
Tom Petty, but he should be in.

Speaker 4 (40:18):
Brand Funk.

Speaker 1 (40:21):
Literally are called an American band. The Birds at nineteen, The.

Speaker 3 (40:25):
Birds Zz top at eighteen, Guns and Roses seventeen. Oh,
they should be talking to Metallic Metallica sixteen, top ten,
The Ramones fifteen. Goodness, they brought their Nirvana fourteen, ten,
The Allman Brothers thirteen ten, Sling, The Family Stones twelve,
Steely Dan at eleven.

Speaker 1 (40:46):
Top twenty Steely Dan Steey Dan is a number twenty two.
Metallica technically has a Danish member.

Speaker 7 (40:53):
He is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (41:01):
Welcome in and thank you for being part of what
we do. So we just unfortunately speedy read the Top
fifty Greatest American rock bands. Let me emphasize that rock bands.
So they have to be from America. They must be
rock and looking at how it turned out, it's I

(41:25):
didn't okay, can we even find sticks? I don't see
I do not see them.

Speaker 3 (41:33):
They gotta be on that. I will tell you this,
I don't seen. I'm gonna fly. I'm gonna fly through
this and then y'all can like jump in that. Fifty
was the Food Fighter again. The Top fifty American bands
of all time. Take some of the people that are
on the list and where they are. I can't take it.
The Beach Boys are at number one. That's the end

(41:54):
of this list. That list died on its number one choice.

Speaker 4 (41:57):
Cocomo slaps though Rick.

Speaker 1 (42:01):
It makes me want to slap.

Speaker 3 (42:02):
At fifty Food Fighters forty nine, Flaming Lips, Flaming Lip
forty eight, CATS's On This and Flaming Lips On It.
Captain Beef Heart Yeah and His Magic Band at nicety
Sticks forty seven, Stone Tiple, Pilots forty eight, Red Hot
Chili Peppers forty five, bon Jovi forty four, Pixies, Got

(42:27):
One Good Song, Jefferson Airplane forty two, Boston forty one,
Journeys Cheap Trick Is It forty The Doobie Brothers thirty nine,
Blondie thirty eight, Frank Zappa and the Mothers of a
Convention thirty seven, Midley Crew thirty six, crew Santana thirty five,
Pearl Jam thirty four, I thought they'd be High thirty

(42:49):
three with Chicago, Darryl Hall, John Oates thirty two, The
Temptations thirty one, Heart Is At thirty, Booker t and
the MG's twenty nine, Way Too, The Stooges twenty eight,
wayt Terrior, Velvet Underground twenty seven, Thrown Out, Terrible Funkadelic
twenty six Ppon Call Stars we mentioned Rock. Well, this

(43:11):
was if you remember, we went back and it was
a mixture of all genres because when rock went they say,
music's gone through so many little.

Speaker 4 (43:20):
Okay, so it's just American bands. It's not rock band right.

Speaker 3 (43:23):
Well, yeah, even though they say, even though they say
at the top, here it says, and I'm reading it,
blah blah blah blah, the the top fifty American rock
bands of all time.

Speaker 1 (43:35):
This, like they say, rock and roll Hall of Fame.

Speaker 4 (43:37):
I put Santana higher because I'm not racist.

Speaker 1 (43:40):
Oh my goodness. Yeah, but if your earbuds were missing,
you would accuse him.

Speaker 3 (43:44):
Yeah, but y'all brought, y'all brought up, and we can
go a little bit more into it.

Speaker 1 (43:49):
I don't see I'm seeing her going through it. I
don't know. We see, don't worry Alice Cooper twenty four.
We see the Stooges, but we don't see sticks.

Speaker 3 (43:58):
Sound Garden twenty three, Grateful Dead. I mentioned them at
twenty two, The Cars twenty one.

Speaker 1 (44:04):
So you found the Black Crows.

Speaker 3 (44:05):
Yet the Black Crows are not our sticks. The Black
Crows and Sticks are not.

Speaker 1 (44:10):
And the Stooges and the Pixies are, and the Beach
Boys are number one. Unreal blasphemy rock and roll blasphemy. Crazy.
Do y'all realize how good Sticks is oh yeah, and
I'm saying and the Black Crows, I will say that
at times the Black Crows live can get a little sloppy. Well,

(44:31):
and when they go through the jam band when they
thought they were a jam band. But Sticks, I mean
they are pros. And they, as you said, Greg, still
right now as we speak, playing their songs in the
original key, singing them in the original keys. Unreal. I
saw them like three or four years ago, Greg, Greg, Greg,
Greg gave them the greatest compliment. They don't get to
the hard parts of the song and then hold the
microphone out to the audience.

Speaker 4 (44:52):
Righting with me.

Speaker 1 (44:54):
They actually sing it, yes, very well.

Speaker 4 (44:57):
Is Kansas even on the list?

Speaker 1 (44:58):
Oh my goodness good not wait a minute, just forget it.
That's it. Put that list.

Speaker 4 (45:03):
This list that you make, Speedy, this list you made
is terrible. You're proven that you don't.

Speaker 3 (45:07):
Know you really are right now, so ultimate Classic rock
dot com.

Speaker 1 (45:10):
And just carry on my wayward son. Greg and Adler
have said, arguably the greatest rock song ever put together. Yeah,
when you just down, it's got it all it gives you.

Speaker 6 (45:20):
They debated that with the Jiu Jitsu Friend this past weekend,
and how did that go. He was like, you know that,
you make a good point and talks about understands.

Speaker 1 (45:27):
Well, when you first say it, there's so many rock
songs I can understand people are a little bit aghast.
But then when you make your case for it, great vocals,
great into the arrangement, great guitar, great piano, great everything, and.

Speaker 4 (45:42):
It builds up.

Speaker 6 (45:44):
It starts here, and it starts at ten, and it
goes to eleven and then twelve.

Speaker 1 (45:48):
Do you think the one guitar going on and on
and on there for a while, a little self indulgent.
It's a little loan, but it's okay.

Speaker 4 (45:54):
You need it. I wish to think about your life
while it's going on on.

Speaker 3 (46:00):
Ultimate Classic rock dot Com went a little bit more
into detail on the formula. Here it says, uh and
and it's just a quick paragraph. Here says because music
is a subjective medium, there's no perfect formula for assessing, like,
is one act better than the other?

Speaker 4 (46:16):
In the wind? Was just in the stinking wind?

Speaker 1 (46:20):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (46:20):
This says, does critical acclaim count more than commercial sales?
Should a band whose longevity span multiple decades be ranked
higher than a popular band that burned out quickly? And
what about artists who never enjoyed mainstream success, you know,
but but had had heavy influence off you know.

Speaker 1 (46:38):
I realized, I realized that we do not have the
list Guns and Roses. Yeah, yeah, I had them. I
think I had them. By the way, some of you
that are asking for led Zeppelin that's not an American band.

Speaker 4 (46:53):
Is non American either.

Speaker 1 (46:55):
American foreigner. The name is actually foreigner, folks, Foreigner. Yeah,
I think there were two Americans in the original They
said Guns and Roses was seventeen, okay.

Speaker 4 (47:04):
And Queen.

Speaker 6 (47:05):
People are asking why isn't Queen on the name of
the band? Is queen not king or president?

Speaker 1 (47:09):
Right? Then they're also nice, they're not American, they're not American.
That hurts. And somebody's asking, where's the group Alabama? It's
not the country band list. Yes, they would definitely be
one at the top. They might be number one. They
probably would. Of course the Beach Boys shouldn't be no.

Speaker 6 (47:25):
Right if if Simon and Garfunkel are on there, you
can put Alabama on there.

Speaker 1 (47:30):
Mike so Southern rock they just said forget it.

Speaker 11 (47:32):
They said we were special, special, Blaack Froat, Blackfoot, black Crows,
come on, Blackbird Smoke, Yeah, Blackstone Cherry, anybody was black
and their name is a right.

Speaker 1 (47:47):
So this is what they said.

Speaker 3 (47:49):
The Beach Boys were more than just a group that's
saying about girls surf.

Speaker 1 (47:53):
I don't even want to hear about it. I do
not want to hear about the Beach Boys. I won't hear.

Speaker 3 (47:57):
They said, there's a few bands that have had greater
impact on popular you're they should be in on the list,
but not number one.

Speaker 6 (48:04):
Yeah, top ten, give them top ten, CCR should be,
should be top three.

Speaker 1 (48:09):
They are rel Speedwagon. There you go, it's.

Speaker 4 (48:11):
Another good Speedwagon.

Speaker 1 (48:12):
My goodness, are they not in the top fifty? Says
the Beach Boys.

Speaker 3 (48:16):
String of late sixties and early seventy albums included some
of their greatest and most mature work. Do you think
this is because Brian Wilson passed away and they felt obligated.

Speaker 4 (48:26):
Yes, maybe he the weird it is. Yes, they felt
obligated to put the Pixies on there too.

Speaker 1 (48:32):
So this was ultimate classic rock dot com Not me.

Speaker 4 (48:35):
Oh, I thought it was you.

Speaker 1 (48:36):
It was you, Speedy Matthews Man. When you start thinking
about Independence Day and we've certainly had our experience of
this on the show, you start thinking about fireworks, and
when you start thinking about fireworks, you ought to think

(48:57):
about safety. We were just talking about off the air
and andres got a number of videos. There seems to
be a lot of firework warehouse explosions and yeah, fireworks,
stand explosions. You want to go, m So we've got here.
Here's a warehouse blowing up in Yolo County, California.

Speaker 3 (49:18):
Yeah, and this was Tuesday, but on live TV. Yeah,
more's coming out about it. And the fact that we
still have some folks missing. I think seven are missing.

Speaker 4 (49:28):
Yeah, it was absolutely huge.

Speaker 1 (49:30):
Look at there, here we go, and it's.

Speaker 4 (49:32):
Going to go up. Explosions right there?

Speaker 1 (49:34):
Where is that California?

Speaker 4 (49:37):
So good, get ready to get ready.

Speaker 7 (49:39):
This is not a good situation.

Speaker 12 (49:40):
Okay, yeah, you can absolutely see the on the left e.

Speaker 4 (49:43):
This is catching right now.

Speaker 1 (49:44):
Far works are going on.

Speaker 4 (49:46):
Remind you you're watching the case at seven.

Speaker 1 (49:49):
Wow, there we go. Hey, now like a mushroom cloud. Guys,
did you see that explosion?

Speaker 3 (49:58):
My good Now it's just far works like crazy, my goodness.

Speaker 13 (50:03):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, we're fine.

Speaker 1 (50:07):
I don't know if you guys heard that.

Speaker 4 (50:08):
Yeah, we heard it.

Speaker 1 (50:09):
We heard it.

Speaker 3 (50:11):
How about happen on live TV in the helicopter, so
you can see, uh, even before the major explosion, the
fireworks that are just being shot out of the building,
like just off into the field beside it.

Speaker 1 (50:23):
Any mighty know why there's above ground pool right beside it.

Speaker 4 (50:26):
I saw that too, y'all.

Speaker 1 (50:28):
That explosions crazy, Greg, that's what you took away from
that video? Well, yeah, everything fun right there behind I know,
but there's a major explosion. I just figuring why you
got to have a swimming pool right there at a fireworks.

Speaker 4 (50:41):
Is that another one right there behind the smoke?

Speaker 1 (50:43):
If somebody went and jumped in it when this thing
exploded while of the helicopters. Oh good night, that's a
big fireball and that's crazy. Uh. And then you you
also have emergency cruise in another part of California. They're
urging residents in that area to evacuate because a massive

(51:06):
explosion also happened at a fireworks factory. What's the deal?
It makes you wonder another towering plumb of black smoke
visible for miles right there. Dang, that's a big one.
That's another one also in California.

Speaker 8 (51:21):
Screen.

Speaker 10 (51:22):
This is.

Speaker 1 (51:24):
This is something. I mean, you know the Chinese make
all the fireworks.

Speaker 4 (51:28):
Oh, Greg, there it is the CCP. The CCP is
taking fingers this weekend.

Speaker 1 (51:35):
Okay, okay, now, emergency up up. There's another one emergency
cruiser on the scene after a fireworks show set up
went wrong, yes, and exploded at a country club injuring
several people in Massachusetts.

Speaker 4 (51:49):
Look, there's just people running on the golf course running away.

Speaker 3 (51:52):
Look what in the world it looks like a I mean,
it's just so much on. It looks like a lightning
storm in a clouds. So much stuff going up.

Speaker 1 (52:02):
Now this other one is so a lot a lot
of issues with fireworks, warehouses and fireworks shows, Yes, but
a lot. It just seems like they're really grouping this
year for some reason. Now this is not new, but
it's cool. Yeah, a guy flew his drone into some fireworks.
Remember that this is not new, this is old. But

(52:23):
but he's going to get the drone and get right
up in there on this fireworks show that's going on.
Do you remember what year this was at or I
don't look at this. Look he's in the middle of it.
I mean, that is really cool footage. Now you you
make fun of that you must not be. You must be.
I knew it. I knew it. We couldn't get it
out without Greg's screaming fake.

Speaker 6 (52:43):
And I attempted this one year about chickened out at
the beach.

Speaker 1 (52:48):
I say, you can't be all that attached to your drone, no,
because it could blow up.

Speaker 4 (52:51):
Really really, those propellers are not that strong.

Speaker 1 (52:54):
Honestly, you lost in the tree one time I did.
That was bad, right, So there you go. Somebody asked,
what is a pay Now everybody's showing us blown up hands.
Somebody says that, what is a plum of black smoke
versus a plume?

Speaker 2 (53:08):
You know?

Speaker 1 (53:09):
Well, everybody knows that. Yeah, where we're from. And then
there was a smoke that has a plum color to it. Yes,
let me give a little word warning here because we've
had over the year stories you know now the ones
you can buy that they're in the pipe and you
drop them in there and they basically look like real fireworks. Yeah,
don't put one of them on top of your head.
No kill. Somebody does not end up. Well, you remember

(53:29):
this one. This is when that the fireworks went bad
out there? Remember this, and everybody's back, everybody's running yeah,
could not. And then the most famous of all is
back up Terry. Oh, back up Terry.

Speaker 4 (53:43):
Watch that right, back up Terry.

Speaker 1 (53:45):
I could watch I think one thousand times. Backup Terry.
All right, so what you're known as backup, back up
to Terry. That's such a here it is great to
say it. Referchair lou.

Speaker 4 (54:10):
Back up to Ry is still not.

Speaker 1 (54:13):
Back You can't get it.

Speaker 10 (54:17):
It would not operate, bless bless famous.

Speaker 1 (54:22):
Bag bag tear rechair fantastic.

Speaker 4 (54:29):
Okay, Terry was fine, he's a.

Speaker 1 (54:32):
Little smoke up. I didn't get the toggle to work.
I was trying to.

Speaker 14 (54:37):
Go, oh lord, turn.

Speaker 1 (54:39):
It back up. So we come back. Some tips on
hosting the forest vide you'll need this, Okay, I got it,
and some other ideas, and we'll kind of discuss those.
We'll come back hanging there.

Speaker 7 (54:57):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (55:05):
So here we go into Independence Day. The fourth is
your lot hosting the fourth? Speedy hosting the fourth? Yes, sir, well,
maybe a few tips here, tip here and let me
right if we agree with these. Hope you're watching. Okay,
here we go. All right, so this is I'm getting
a line up here, some video and audio and these

(55:27):
are some things that we can try.

Speaker 6 (55:29):
Yeah, I'm getting the line up here, all right, and
you guys are gonna have to talk out what the
tips are.

Speaker 1 (55:33):
So okay, So they're going to grilling.

Speaker 6 (55:36):
Butter technique where you put a divot in the middle
and put the ice cube on the on the paddy.

Speaker 4 (55:40):
Do y'all do that?

Speaker 1 (55:41):
No, that's the dumbest thing.

Speaker 2 (55:42):
I do.

Speaker 1 (55:43):
Not supposed to make.

Speaker 4 (55:44):
It'spoised to make it moist.

Speaker 1 (55:47):
Never any circumstances. What I do I would never do.
If you tried you're gonna do that? No, but if
you tried it, why would I? My My hamburgers are more,
They make it be better. My hamburgers are moist. I
know what I don't. I'm not gonna sit there and
put a divot and drop an ice cube. I'm doing it.
So here we go time. Here comes hot dogs, a bunch.

Speaker 6 (56:08):
Of hot dogs, and he's putting a skewer through it
on either side, and.

Speaker 3 (56:12):
You SPLI easier to flip.

Speaker 1 (56:16):
That's not a bad idea. It seems like I'm not
sure the payoffs there for the hassle though.

Speaker 4 (56:21):
Yeah, did you just roll them in?

Speaker 1 (56:24):
Not that big? I like to I like to roll
and make the barbecue sauce. I'm almost like doing a
rod tissary thing with him. I don't like that. That's
two things I don't like. That's interesting, too interesting, Greg,
don't forget. Somebody says they always do this and they
cook out. They put water inside of tin, a big
tin trail ten, they freeze it and then they put
like vegetables or stuff on it.

Speaker 4 (56:45):
Speed He called it right, that's right. What do you
think of that?

Speaker 1 (56:49):
That's a good idea? Keeps it cold? Put a pan
on top of a frozen a Is that not a
good idea? Who wants to need a bunch of raw
vegetables at a cookout? Well? Greg's important? Which what you
used to do?

Speaker 4 (57:01):
Nobody carrots?

Speaker 1 (57:02):
Nobody cooking tear of baby carrot? Well, no one ever
said Greg, to your point, it's a somewhat healthy snack.
But as far as I'm going to the barbecue, hair,
are you bringing the raw carrots and the celery? And
no you're not. It doesn't belong on the fourth of July?
What about it? The table finger food?

Speaker 3 (57:17):
While you're waiting down there all day that should be
connecting saucers. You're buzzing you've been drinking that should be
connecting sauce on it.

Speaker 1 (57:24):
You want chips that that should be connecting sausage that
should be chips, hamburger dip. Let me throw Let me
throw this at you. But let's say that for whatever reason,
not the fourth of July. Okay, you want to put
out a vegetable plate, freezing that one underneath is a
good idea. Yes, I don't think a veget I don't
think raw vegetables belonging on the fourth. I agree with
you there. If you're gonna set it outside in the sunshine,

(57:46):
I guess it matters, but it's not. I've never had
raw vestables get hot. Okay, all right, So I thought
that was a good idea. Greg doesn't. I think I
thought the other two were not.

Speaker 4 (57:53):
Greg thinks it's stupid. And this is the watermelon.

Speaker 1 (57:58):
The best way to cut a watermelon.

Speaker 6 (58:00):
Yeah, so you open it so you got two bowls basically,
and then you can cut it from the top.

Speaker 1 (58:05):
And I don't mind that. I got to have a
sharp knife, but I don't mind that. Okay, that's a
good idea. Those of you that can't see this, I
don't even know how you describe it. Look at that
right there.

Speaker 3 (58:16):
Do you feel like watermelon? Do you feel like they're
they're messier than they are good? Yes, And sometimes it's
like is it worth the hassle? But they're good for
you too?

Speaker 1 (58:25):
At sixty, wouldn't you say they're good for you? They
are at the age of sixty, under no circumstance. Am
I picking up a giant slice of watermelon and sitting
there and eat it like I did with when I
was a kid? In these are cutting squares, cutting squares,
make it ice cold, set it out for everybody. Give
me a little salt this right here, I think since
you're only holding one end of the rine and it's

(58:45):
almost like a watermelon popsicle this year eating, Yeah, that's
a pretty good idea. I don't know that i'd go
through that trouble, but it's a good idea.

Speaker 4 (58:53):
I want to say, I have a new I have
a new watermelon technique. Cut it in half.

Speaker 6 (58:58):
You got two bowls, right, and you almost do like
a grid in the bowl, but you don't call. You
don't cut all the way through the rhine, and then
the little kids can come and get a little column
of watermelon. And then you don't have them see where
where do I put my rind? Where I put my
r And this is in an outdoor almost like splash
Day environment only and that's been a huge hit with kids.

Speaker 1 (59:20):
In the last that's a good idea. You you go
seedless with the kids.

Speaker 4 (59:25):
I tried, But even the seedless not everybody likes.

Speaker 1 (59:31):
By the way, if it says seedless, there should be
no seeds, and there are. What about when you cut
a hole in it and dump vodka? Is that they
dump in the top of your somebody.

Speaker 4 (59:39):
That punch, punch, Greg, it's not.

Speaker 1 (59:41):
The dump it inside the watermelon? Yeah, no, I've never
seen they eat the watermelon. You never seen it. Then
they get the hooping and holler. You've never seen it.

Speaker 4 (59:49):
Never it goes into the fruit.

Speaker 1 (59:53):
But the good news is it's vodka, so nobody knows
you're drunk. Your behavior, what's got in there? This is
grilling sal no salt, No salt food on the watermelton.
You don't put salt, No.

Speaker 3 (01:00:06):
I don't. But butter on the hot dog bun is good.

Speaker 1 (01:00:10):
It is tried butter on the hot dog bun. Putting
the hot dog bun on the grill. Ye, yes, with
buttered inside, letting it gets toasted.

Speaker 4 (01:00:18):
Okay, all right, so I'm gonna start buttering.

Speaker 1 (01:00:25):
Can we table hot dogs? I got another question coming?

Speaker 4 (01:00:28):
Yeah, all right, we're gonna do it now. I mean
we can pause.

Speaker 1 (01:00:31):
I mean, let's keep going. How many more we got?
All right?

Speaker 4 (01:00:34):
So look at this, look at check this out?

Speaker 1 (01:00:36):
Okay, so like uh using a cupcake pan, right to
just put all your condiments and things you put on
your burger a hot dog. Each little slot is a
place with pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, yeah, olives, tomato, instead
of having paper plates laid out everywhere. Yeah, and you
you have those and you go. Now you're gonna have

(01:00:59):
to refill about to say are those big enough to
make a difference?

Speaker 4 (01:01:02):
That's true?

Speaker 1 (01:01:03):
And you need two of them?

Speaker 4 (01:01:03):
All right?

Speaker 1 (01:01:04):
Now.

Speaker 3 (01:01:04):
I will say this because I know Greg. I will
speak for him. He does not like to share dipping sauce.
No on a big I mean like he wants you
to make your own where we're not all gathered around
all dipping because you know, I don't like like, yeah,
he's talked about think about it.

Speaker 4 (01:01:21):
You try to explain the double dipping to a child.

Speaker 1 (01:01:24):
By the way, I think you're an alien from another planet.

Speaker 6 (01:01:28):
Israel looked at me yesterday, like, what are you talking about?
I know where the cheese dip is. I have a
chip here, buddy. I'm like, buddy, that's a chip. That's
not a spoon.

Speaker 1 (01:01:38):
I bet that. I bet he understood.

Speaker 4 (01:01:40):
All right, cleaning your grill. Everybody knows that the bristles
are dangerous. The bristles are getting caught in people's throats.

Speaker 1 (01:01:47):
Greg, get the plastic one h.

Speaker 4 (01:01:51):
Cleaning his grill with an onion? Then what do y'all
think of that?

Speaker 1 (01:01:54):
All right?

Speaker 6 (01:01:54):
Well, well here's this one's for Greg. Did you know
that you can bust a twelve pack box in half?

Speaker 1 (01:01:59):
First of all, this is the last person who've ever
drink an r C. Right, yeah, but when I was
like three.

Speaker 4 (01:02:06):
The box can stand up on its own. Y'all think
that's cool. It's not cool.

Speaker 1 (01:02:09):
It bad use it as a container. Don't know that?
All right?

Speaker 4 (01:02:15):
One last one.

Speaker 6 (01:02:16):
When you got a picnic trick, you got a picnic bench,
you got a table whatever in the backyard.

Speaker 4 (01:02:19):
This lady instead of using whatever, she uses a bed
sheet to.

Speaker 1 (01:02:23):
A bed sheet the table claw and it stays on.
That's not a bad idea. It's not bad. Washed it, well, you.

Speaker 11 (01:02:30):
Gotta wash itous by the way, that that one.

Speaker 1 (01:02:33):
I'm gonna show that one to Shery. That's a pretty
good one.

Speaker 4 (01:02:35):
That's pretty good.

Speaker 1 (01:02:36):
But does the table I mean the table size and
the and that has got to match up.

Speaker 4 (01:02:41):
You gotta you gotta tuck it a little bit. Yeah,
it's got to be a twin. It looks like yeah,
all right, so you'll think of the tips speedy hot dogs.

Speaker 3 (01:02:48):
It's not bad all I wanted for two things when
it comes to hot dogs. Don't forget Greg Nathan's hot
dog eating contest Joey Chesnut makes his return tomorrow. And
then the other is what is the best hot dog
weenie to get? You know, you hear horror stories about
hot dog weenies and what they're made up, and what
is the best weenie?

Speaker 1 (01:03:08):
Me? I think the oskamar Angus beef. I agree with
baby brother. The ballparks don't leave. The ballparks are a
little greed. Don't don't like you know, they're little greed
when you cook them, and that's pretty good. I don't
like them.

Speaker 3 (01:03:25):
How do you feel like putting connecta sausage in a
in a hot dog.

Speaker 1 (01:03:28):
Yeah, I hate it, but but it's not a hot
I like it, but it's not hot dogs. So I
want if I want a hot dog, and I'm going
to grab some hot dog weenies. And I'm sitting there
looking bun length angus beef oscar mar and it's real beef.
How do you feel? Who knows? But they say it is.

Speaker 4 (01:03:44):
The Jews have a pretty good hot dog.

Speaker 1 (01:03:46):
They do. They do, Thank you Jewish friends.

Speaker 4 (01:03:50):
Yes, concher beef.

Speaker 1 (01:03:51):
Come on, not a bad dog? Uh, skinless beef, Franks.

Speaker 4 (01:03:55):
What does bun length mean?

Speaker 1 (01:03:58):
It's it's you know how sometimes the normal size. You've
got a lot of bun there. Length it's in the name.
It's in the name. I think it's the length of
the bun.

Speaker 4 (01:04:08):
I thought it might be shorter or something.

Speaker 1 (01:04:09):
No one length is shorter than the bun. That doesn't
make any sense.

Speaker 4 (01:04:14):
I didn't know about. What about a Johnsonville one fan,
big fan of buns.

Speaker 1 (01:04:19):
Yeah that's what. Okay, all right, we go we go
spiral dog. Now every time we make a hot dog,
it has to be spiral. You gotta be spiral. Greg,
just just.

Speaker 4 (01:04:32):
Drink another growing spirals like Tom.

Speaker 7 (01:04:35):
Brady is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (01:04:44):
And let's Freedom Ring. Let's just call it our founding fathers.
If they returned today, oh boy, and they saw the
things that we have allowed, especially involving taxes, taxes, they
would lose their minds. It would, I mean, unless we
set it up and y'all blew it. Three cent tax
on t they went berserk. Yeah, okay, so reminds me
of an Andy sick. However, however, if it is the

(01:05:08):

we are morally bound to pay them. It is the
largest collection agency in the world, the I R S.
So let's say that you're not in good standing with
the IRS, not going to go away and believe it

(01:06:55):
List so here we.

Speaker 12 (01:06:55):
Go accept the projections on this. One number. Two it
is not. Unpopular it is not unpopular to invest IN.
Ice it is not unpopular to give this agency what
it needs to deport violent. Criminals it is not unpopular
to make sure illegal aliens are not getting. Welfare it
is not unpopular to take able Bodied americans who are

(01:07:17):
not doing, anything who are choosing not to. Work it's
not unpopular to say we're not paying for your welfare
when we're asking everybody else to get up and go to.
Work these are popular, provisions as is no tax on,
tips as is keeping the tax rates. Low you keep
talking about the popularity of the. Bill individual provisions are
exactly How trump won the national popular.

Speaker 4 (01:07:35):
Vote it will work if they run the, play.

Speaker 3 (01:07:38):
But it's currently not.

Speaker 14 (01:07:39):

of The republicans know this is to.

Speaker 4 (01:07:56):
Play the president.

Speaker 1 (01:07:57):

caucus in.

Speaker 8 (01:08:01):
Order that.

Speaker 4 (01:08:01):
Much it just came and.

Speaker 3 (01:08:03):
They actually it was pretty quick. Turnaround why are why

left have that same voice they, DO i got. You.
Yeah so here's another. One jenning is just gonna have
fun with. This he's going to force The democrats to
try to explain Why mamdani uh is being a communist,
uh and then how they're going to explain that away

(01:08:33):
and say he's good For New York. City it's pretty
funny here were The democratic socialists elected as mayor Of
New York.

Speaker 12 (01:08:39):
City, no you agree With pete that he is a,
communist he's. Not he's a, socialist he, said he's the
means of.

Speaker 4 (01:08:43):
Production he's a.

Speaker 1 (01:08:44):
Socialist i'm not a.

Speaker 4 (01:08:46):
Socialist he's using the language of The bolsheviks as it.

Speaker 1 (01:08:49):
Is, no he's. Not he's a, socialist not a. Communist
means of.

Speaker 4 (01:08:53):
Production that's called, socialism not.

Speaker 1 (01:08:54):
Communists use. That THE us bar and stone doors coming
up the.

Speaker 4 (01:09:00):
NEXT i like.

Speaker 1 (01:09:03):
That you're acting like socialist is a good. Oiste, no
it's not a communis it's just a. Socialist, yeah oh that's.
Better let's go to THREE a as. Well. Adler so
THREE a so that where the the left tries to,
pretend because of some disagreements on The Big Beautiful, bill

(01:09:24):
that this means that the things that trump is doing
now that they're not. Working you heard her say, that
you know where they're just not. Working so, well HERE'S
cnn having to admit something that looks like it's. Working,
uh and that would be the. Layoffs here we.

Speaker 4 (01:09:40):
GO i got something playing still in the. Background know
what's not Be? Yeah we, go, there we. Go, There
egan joins.

Speaker 12 (01:09:50):
Me, now give us some contacts here and what this
report tells us about the economy and what you're.

Speaker 14 (01:09:55):
Saying, well, sir this report paints the picture of a
jobs market that is holding them better Than layoff announcements
skyrocketed earlier this, year but thankfully they are coming back to.
Earth So, Challenger gray And christmas found that In june
there were about forty eight thousand layoff. Announcements that is
down sharply by forty nine percent From. May and it

(01:10:19):
is even a little bit, lower two percent lower than Last.
June and when we look at the trend for layoff,
announcements they were trending higher and higher earlier this.

Speaker 4 (01:10:30):
Year this looks back to the.

Speaker 1 (01:10:31):
Beginning of twenty twenty.

Speaker 14 (01:10:32):
Four you could see they were really low last, year
skyrocketed Around february And. March in, Fact march was about
five times higher Than. June and this of course was
driven in large part By doze, right the.

Speaker 1 (01:10:46):
Government, yeah so everything's looking. Good so layoffs are down
by forty nine, percent and you certainly would say at
skyrocket when we started getting rid of people that were
just getting paid to do nothing right off the. Taxpayers and,
uh do you say the congressman on THREE b is
It Tim, Burchett, Yeah birchett birchitt Or Birchet Birchet.

Speaker 9 (01:11:07):
Birch.

Speaker 1 (01:11:08):
Yeah so here he is ON cnn and he makes
a mistake of thinking he's there to be asked questions
and for them to have a. Discussion but then he
realizes that he's just in an editorial and and he's
had enough of.

Speaker 7 (01:11:21):
That so here it.

Speaker 6 (01:11:22):
Is, yeah my link isn't working with me to The
i've got it, now all, right here we. Go, yeah
so many things to.

Speaker 8 (01:11:27):
Click it going to be a great thing for this.

Speaker 15 (01:11:29):
Country, well THE, cbo which you put so much trust
in four years and years that you've passed a resolution
wanting estimates read before, bills is very clear about how
many people are going to be kicked off of. Healthcare
until you were against.

Speaker 8 (01:11:42):
This man, no, Ma'am, no, ma'am you're. Listen listen if
you want. To if you want to do the, editorial
just go, ahead and you don't need me on, here
but the.

Speaker 1 (01:11:48):
Sea, facts.

Speaker 8 (01:11:49):
SIR i would, EDIE i would like to see what
the economic economic output of every. Bill you as a,
taxpayers you want that. Too and THE cbo is the
only organization Have IF i could allow a private accounting
firm to do, IT i would much rather that. Happen
but the reality is it would have to be THE.
Cbo and what do you have against knowing how much
each bill is? Spent why is the media posed to?

(01:12:11):
That why do you all on the left always fight
every chance At america knowing what's going. On the problem
you all have with this, bill, man is that it
gets government out of our way and Lets americans make some,
decisions and maybe hard Working americans would have a better
choice and a better shot at life in this country
without you all just telling us how bad things are
going and trying to construct and as you're doing with,

(01:12:33):
me trying to trying to dictate What i've. Said and
the reality is THE cbo is a partisan, organization and
the reality Is america has a right to know how
much we're spending on every piece of. LEGISLATION i cannot believe,
you as a member of the, media would not want open,
records and that is exactly what that bill would.

Speaker 5 (01:12:49):
Do, Hell.

Speaker 1 (01:12:52):
I's going to do an editorial, then as no need
for me to be, here, right, yeah all, right we'll come.
