TODAY:

Mustaches, Bro Hugs, Grass & Tattoos | Best of Aug. 14 | The Rick Burgess Show

We debate the pros and cons of mustaches and how they work for some people and make some people look like they drive a van that says "free candy" on the side. Rick and Speedy illustrate how to give an appropriate bro hug. President Trump talks about his love for grass, and we agree 100% — but it's the kind of grass you mow, not the kind you smoke. And a widow has her deceased husband's tattoo preserved in a picture frame, and it's grossing us out.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
Talk about what's ahead on the On the program today,
a couple of Biggies country music fans. They didn't get
any bigger than Riley green Now, well, Riley green just
continue well, I mean been successful for a while, but
I mean just continuing to get to get bigger and bigger.
And Riley Green will visit with us today. We'll talk
to him. He's got a big European tour coming up

(03:45):
this fall, which is I mean, people are saying, I
mean that thing is selling out. I mean, and we
got to talk about somebody from from Pleasant Valley where
Greg lives, you know, and now you're selling out all
over all over Europe, you know. And you played Greg's
order's sixteenth birthday and it was at eighteen. I remember
it was one of them.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
But anyway, this.

Speaker 5 (04:04):
According to Greg who knows everything, Riley Greene speaking of
a sellout, this would be a trivia question. I guess
is the Coca Cola Amphitheater that was just built in Birmingham, Alabama.
Big acts coming from all over the place. Unbelievable venue.
I understand his concert that he just had was the
first to sell out.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
Yeah, that's what I was doing.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
And there was some big names that have already been
the Yeah, Dave Matthews didn't sell out.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
I'm just telling what I was told.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
Okay, Fish didn't sell out.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
Okay, I don't know. I'm just telling what I was told.
Death Leopard didn't sell out.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
Toto didn't sell out there they did, understanding.

Speaker 5 (04:41):
That's according to Greg Burgess, and he's right again, I think.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
So Toto, who were they with at Of course you
and I were invited to that concert and we do.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
It was so weeknight we wouldn't go.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
Christopher Cross and Men at Work or on Tool.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
No wonder you didn't go. It's not too far to paradise.
This is not for me. Yeah, that one and is right.
You can say it away, find tranquility. All canvas can
do miracles. Just you wait and see.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
Well, that song make you feel strange, that's just that boy,
That song makes you feel strange.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
But I'm looking at the Coca Cola amphitheaters, uh social
media right now, and Riley Green did sell it out
that we can confirm that he.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
Greg, he was the first one. Wow, that's according to
Greg Burgess looking at that right there.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
But he did, Greg, Greg, Greg, And Greg has also
promised today we'll find out if he and Ella Langley
are dating.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
You think he's starting here and now you think he's
sick of that man's good? Yeah we're not.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
But but well, but well now he's got some ladies
that have fallen a little bit. Yeah, you know, he's
had some lady controversy.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
What are we doing. He's a single guy.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
And when you're when when you're when you're a celebrity,
you're not married, and you know they think you're dating
everybody that you standing next to. I'm just saying that
that's kind of funny.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
It is. I think I think, you know, he's got
a good day. We just saw him back in May,
we did, you know, But in May we we.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
And we've talked to Riley even back in the Rick
and Bubby years obviously, but but Riley this last time
and I loved it. But he was part of kind
of an ensemble, so I couldn't We couldn't really zero
in on all the things him and he's so humble.
Any way, we didn't try to, but I mean he's
sitting there with one of his you know, influences, Jamie Johnson,
So you know, you know, in that situation, it's hard

(06:25):
to really have a yeah, an in depth. Well when
we do that celebrity program, man, they're coming at you
rapid fire. You're just don't have a long They all
want to get loose and get ready to play golf.
You may get two sentences from ten people, but anyway.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
Go ahead.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
So today we'll just talk to Riley and our friend
James Spent. Yeah, I know we got you know, the
hurricane season, it's just starting. Trust me, the people in
the Phamas, they're very well versed on it. But there's
a hurricane. Everybody kind of wondering it's forming, what's happening there.
And then of course James had big news that he
announced this week too, So we will talk with you

(07:00):
aime span today. Yeah, so that's coming up.

Speaker 5 (07:02):
So I h I guess what was it? We were
in Nashville, uh j C and then were playing in April.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
I guess it was.

Speaker 5 (07:11):
And we were walking uh and came up on Duck
Blind Riley Green's Restaurant and bar.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Yeah, and took a picture of it outside. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (07:22):
Nice place, busy, busy little area walking around.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
There's a bunch of those themed yeah music theme. Yeah.
So we've we've got a lot, We've got a lot
to do on the program today.

Speaker 5 (07:32):
And and breaking news, tuber and friend of the show
f Mullet passed away.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
I did h last night.

Speaker 5 (07:40):
She had been suffering from some health issues for quite
some time now.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
And sad news. Yeah. And and she you know, is legend.

Speaker 1 (07:48):
Yeah show many times so much a part of the
Rick and Bubby years, and it was also extremely not
just supportive of all those years of the of the
show was like you say, came to the Golden Ticket
seats many times, but also like if if Sherry was
speaking somewhere, or I was speaking somewhere, if it was

(08:09):
anywhere near her, she was always there. She was so
encouraging to about you know, the spiritual and the ministry
part of the show. And just you know, she's just
one of those people that were a staple and have
been so long. And of course she is a you
know a woman of faith, so we know that she
is ultimately healed, and and she is, you know, and

(08:31):
she's doing just fine. But those that you know, her
family and friends and all the tubers, I know, today's
another day that we we mourn somebody that has meant
so much to the you know, the the larger family,
which is you know, the former show and this show,
and and so we all kind of just take a
moment and say thanks for her support. And we were

(08:52):
praying and morning with all of you that knew her
so well. So and but she was having tough times
there at the end. So there's all also kind of relief,
especially since you, as I said, as a woman of faith,
that her suffering's over to that you know that when
you start getting down toward the end, and you know,
all the things with dementia and those things just horrible, right,
you know, and the health problem she was having. So

(09:13):
glad that she is no longer dealing with that too.
And I know her family's relieved that her sufferings over too.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
So there you go.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
So yeah, we got that word from Coop this morning
in the in the tubers, so we we remember for Mullet,
she had a great sense of humor about that as well.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
I remember she paid me a huge compliment. She was like, Adler,
I didn't like you when you first came on the
show because when you first came on the show, you
were just a little.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
Brad faith kid. I remember, yeah, I remember.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
We loved it.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
She was very, very kind person.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
We'll be right back, stay closer.

Speaker 1 (09:51):

really happening during this moment in history.

I noticed you noticed that, Speedy, because you couldn't help,
because I mean, there's no way not to notice that
Greg got his peanuts yesterday. Good gracious, But I will

(11:55):
tell you I saw something that was special yesterday.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
Really it was special.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
What so the Wednesday Bible study yesterday, which by the way,
thank you Adler. The archive is out so if you
missed it yesterday, we did Job chapter twenty five and
twenty six and by the way, and one of the
things I meant to mention yesterday and I forgot it,
and I had read some of the commentary one of

(12:20):
the three friends that really don't handle Joe's situation very well,
the bombastic Bill Dad gets his third and final shot
at job.

Speaker 2 (12:29):
But it's only like four or.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
Five lines, and there is one commentary theory that Job
just wouldn't go to hear another speech in interrupt that's why.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
That's why there's not much there. H'it heard a lot. Yeah,
he just like, you know, what's it? So? Anyway, so
we were back from vacation. He like this. The room
was packed, which is always so encouraging.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
And so I look and I see that mister peanut
Don Day is here, and I know that Greg is
here too. Greg Greg was in his office and I
looked at Don Dane and I said, would you come
with me for just a minute? And there were a
lot of timing, was it, Adam? There was probably two
minutes for the Bible State was about to start and
go live on the YouTube channel, and to watch him
face Greg, Oh, listen, you can tell he feels so

(13:14):
much better since his back operation.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
I mean he had a little get in his step. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
I saw you had checked on him so much. Yeah
I did. Greg literally said, I heard with my own ears,
with my own ears. Greg looked at him and says,
how you feeling?

Speaker 2 (13:27):
See? I saw it?

Speaker 1 (13:28):
And Greg went in for a semi hug. Yeah, who
went in for a semi hug? And it's almost like
Don Day was almost overcome with emotion because you rush
high few people.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
Greg checks on and offers a hug.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
Yeah, and now Greg's got his peanuts and he's perfect.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
Yeah, it's perfect. I saw just a little dark.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
I saw Greg do the closest he can do to
show gratitude to Don Diego.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
Why would I not like that. I've never shown gratitude.

Speaker 5 (13:56):
Well, I mean you hadn't checked on him. I know that,
But I mean at least he acted like.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
He looked like he looked like he felt good. And
you know what's interesting, guys even better now getting a
hug he.

Speaker 1 (14:06):
Said, Now though there's so many people that that has
orders that they're they're overwhelming him. But he makes sure
Greg gets his even through some even through difficulty, and
I appreciate it. And the thing is, this is what's
so beautiful about Donde, who's such a better person than
than we are. Okay, which that's not that's not a
high standard serving step up right, But he he doesn't

(14:30):
even need our demand Greg's gratitude, you know what, that's true.
He does it because he just wants to loves roast
and peanut and he wants to bless Greg. And so
I said, I said, you're not gonna believe this. Greg
is here. I want you to come in here and
say hello. And I really shouldn't have done it, considering
how close we were, just starting to know you all
work close. But but I was like, I gotta do

(14:50):
this and so, but to Greg's credit, Greg was very
gracious and like I say, offer a physical bro hug. Wow,
I see doing don look like fail you know when
you have bad back, you yeah, you see the pain
in people's face.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
Yeah, I know he looked like him. I mean, he
was good.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
And I worried about you offering the bro hug because
somebody would back trouble. I'm supposed to hug him, throw
him around.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
Yeah him, No, it was it was a little bit.
It was a little bit awkward. It didn't quite come together.

Speaker 5 (15:22):
Really awkward about let me okay, he don't you want
you want to demonstrate on greg Or.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
It's just kind of your area, doesn't he hand area?
So you're donde? Okay, how are you feeling better?

Speaker 6 (15:40):
I'm great?

Speaker 2 (15:40):
Okay, your man, thanks very feeling better? Oh it was wow,
it was yeah, he was hesitant. He don't he wasn't
even looking. What did you just do? You just come over?

Speaker 1 (15:56):
You're trying to make you just like I don't appreciate it.
While it's like it's like Greg knew this was his
moment to show gratitude, and he there was a moment
where he said something, but there was a little bit
of pause, you know that paulse was what I said enough,
so he tried yeah, and then Greg at one point
I think Greg may have thought of a handshake and

(16:16):
decided maybe I should do more. And it just kind
of got and the don wasn't bothered by it.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
Don't hear you saying that? Okay, Whether it wasn't an
awkward moment or you just picked.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
Up on it almost dropped a peanut bag. I wouldn't
call it awkward as much as I would call it messy.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
Oh it was Greg. I mean, how many guys have
you gone in and hug before?

Speaker 6 (16:34):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (16:34):
You know, yeah, that's something little Lee and maybe Kate's
when you see him.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
Well, oh, I'm not keeping up with it, right everybody?
I made that. Some people were saying this to be
on somebody else.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
I'm a loving party text nation. I missip. So let
me be clear.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
There's no way Greg was Brandon Lake's motivation for the
song Gratitude.

Speaker 7 (16:57):
No, I was coming out bench something this awkward because
we're talking about how terrible and awkward Gregg's hug was
with that man that he loves so much because he
brings the peanuts.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
Is this awkward or is this cool?

Speaker 3 (17:13):
Because I feel like this is the coolest, cool, the
coolest way for a man to hug, and it works
in most situations. And that's when you go for the
predator handshake, when you go with the you know the double.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
Yeah, oh yeah that's what I did. That's that's the
way to do it. Yeah, absolutely, say sitting so that's it.
Come here, come here quick. We'll stay sitting. So we're
same like same hike.

Speaker 3 (17:34):
Yeah, pretend, Yeah good, you smell too good?

Speaker 2 (17:40):
Does he smell good? Smell too good? Okay, what do
you mean? I smelled too good?

Speaker 3 (17:44):
Men don't smell. Men don't run the rain.

Speaker 8 (17:47):
I don't.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
I don't wear cologne.

Speaker 3 (17:48):
Smell.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
It's called deodorant. Yeah, well listen here.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
No, no, no, I think what happened is no offense.
I think this is that moment, the way you smell.
Can other people just feels that way?

Speaker 3 (18:02):
Such a fast chasm, such a fast chasm. Did the
soap that you put on today?

Speaker 2 (18:08):
Was it out of a pink bottle? No? No, normal
soap today, the one you always use it? Yeah, just
a bar soap?

Speaker 5 (18:14):
Can't say if you ever say with no washcloth?

Speaker 2 (18:17):
Rick?

Speaker 1 (18:18):
Have you ever seen the O horror movies and Dracula
comes in and they pulled the cross out and he
does that's addler with a deodorant.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
When you pull it out, he's like, I get it away.
You know you had a good but no.

Speaker 3 (18:28):
You're melting.

Speaker 8 (18:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (18:30):
I didn't smell on you either, not full place.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
Let's start.

Speaker 3 (18:35):
Is it just I'm just not used to people smelling good.

Speaker 5 (18:38):
It smelled I don't even smell smelled good.

Speaker 3 (18:41):
It's still on me.

Speaker 2 (18:42):
It's on me now, Adler, can I say this.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
You had a good moment, you did a bro hug perfectly,
and then you ruined it by talking about how good
speed he smelled after giving him a bro hug.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
Okay, you don't add that.

Speaker 3 (18:55):
I told him that he smelled too good.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
Too good.

Speaker 3 (18:57):
Okay, so you tried to keep it because criticizing, right,
it is still on me, speedy.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
Are you sure you're it's called soaping water? Yeah, that's
all it is.

Speaker 3 (19:07):
I smell like, it's like positive. I'm used to leaning
towards the negative side of smells.

Speaker 2 (19:12):
Right, you know what, he smells so good. He's now
made you smell good. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
It was a pro host all right. So but so anyway, Greg,
I thought that meant a lot to die. That's good,
that's good saying looks like it's feeling better. Yeah, and
peanuts keep them rolling. And it was a big effort
on your part. I think you gave him fifteen twenty
seconds ahead.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
Rick, I would we're bumping up the start time.

Speaker 5 (19:34):
I would like to tell Greg that the peanuts don't
have little legs. They're not going to run away because
the way he attacks them, it's like they're trying to
get away.

Speaker 2 (19:42):
I was hungry this morning, you know. He's like, eat one, come.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
Here, yeah said perfect one, perfect, just like I like them.

Speaker 2 (19:51):
All right, we'll be back too many right now though.
Bottom of the hour you got the Rick Birders show.
Come on for the ride.

Speaker 1 (20:06):
So some other things to discuss today, spide I understand
you have an audio clip.

Speaker 2 (20:11):
Yeah, that you want us to hear.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
Yeah, I do, And you want us to try to
tell you what's going on here.

Speaker 5 (20:19):
I'm gonna try to stop it because as it moves along,
you're gonna try it. You're going to kind of figure
it out, but I'm not really sure. I just want
you to listen to this and how bizarre it sounds,
and just see if you can follow along and get
a grip on what's going on here.

Speaker 2 (20:34):
Take a listen.

Speaker 9 (20:36):
Preserved Friday, after everybody left and I was doing my
goodbye is when the mortician and I stood there and
I got to outline the exact tattoo I wanted.

Speaker 5 (20:46):
Now today is tattoo removal Day. Hello, Okay, we have
a day we're celebrating. Yes, today is tattoo removal day.
This lady's in West Virginia.

Speaker 2 (20:56):
This takes one.

Speaker 5 (20:57):
I think you see where it's going. Okay, well let
me tell what I think.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
Let when I say tattoo removed, what this is what
they're talking about.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
I heard two things in that clip that I don't
like my husband tattoo mortician. Right that that that's you
have an idea, that's building a narrative that I hope
I'm not right.

Speaker 5 (21:17):
It gets a little little bit more details.

Speaker 2 (21:21):
Yact tattoo.

Speaker 9 (21:22):
I wanted my husband having over seventy tattoos. I wanted
the surrounding tattoos in it as well. So you outline
it and then the tissue moved and save my ink forever.
Sent the funeral home preservation bag and sends it to
see a fang forever. When they showed us his tattoo,

(21:44):
it was undescribable as to what that felt.

Speaker 5 (21:47):
So her husband passed away. She is standing there with
the mortician. They cut the tattoo off of him, and
now it is framed and in the house.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
When you have to use she hung on her wall
preservation bag.

Speaker 1 (22:02):
Yeah, that's that's so I was thinking maybe she was
going to get a tattoo like he is. Yes, you know,
I didn't realize she was going to actually take that
tattoo and have it, take it to the the framing
shop down the road.

Speaker 2 (22:15):
And let them that's the tattoo right there. Of course
they're there in their Steeler jersey. I can't why.

Speaker 3 (22:21):
Did she picked the Steelers tattoos family?

Speaker 5 (22:25):
Well, obviously they really loved the family. Shout out to
one of my buddies, Sam Fuller. The Fuller family couldn't
be bigger Steelers fans.

Speaker 2 (22:32):
But I don't know that. I don't know that he
would do that. By the way, it's a Steeler helmet
on the skull. Don't miss that.

Speaker 1 (22:37):
Yeah. Okay, wait a minute, So in my house Forever
and Ever is Daddy's skin there?

Speaker 2 (22:43):
It is off his off his dead body.

Speaker 1 (22:45):
Well, I mean in the frame is Daddy's skin trying
to say, is Daddy's skin in a frame?

Speaker 2 (22:50):
It is?

Speaker 3 (22:50):
Did she say save my tattoo forever dot com?

Speaker 10 (22:53):
Or so?

Speaker 5 (22:55):
They said tissue and they said bag here, let me
move forward. I think it's somebody something about the ink here.

Speaker 9 (23:03):
We really had my husband's tattoo preserved. On Friday, I
thought I could skip forward any tattoos. I wanted the
surrounding tattoos, and it is here. We go, you outline it,
and then the tissue is removed.

Speaker 5 (23:15):
Save ink forever, then, save my ink forever, Save my
ink forever.

Speaker 1 (23:20):
Oh my god, Oh my goodness, Oh my goodness, Oh
my goodness.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
I have the written story. Oh my, are you all
ready for this next line? Bring it?

Speaker 1 (23:31):
There couldn't be any more clarity. Hey, y'all want it
cleared up. Here's a quote in the written story. This
isn't a replica. You can see his hair, his wrinkles,
the ink. I kissed it, good night, right out of there.

Speaker 2 (23:47):
She kisses the frame every.

Speaker 1 (23:49):
Now, Yes, you can see his hair. Guys, didn't you
see daddy's hair on his arm? Imagine, Oh my god.
Everybody would say, boy, they were really attached to summring attack.

Speaker 2 (24:02):
They had to They had to burn your hair off, right, Yeah,
didn't the Nazis like do that?

Speaker 1 (24:07):
Yes, they made lampshades and stuff out of that.

Speaker 3 (24:14):
Yes, with the numbers on it.

Speaker 2 (24:15):
That's sad, horrible, evil, wicked. Good night, y'all. Here it
is right here.

Speaker 3 (24:22):
Save my ink forever. Welcome to save my ink Forever.
We offer seamless processes for individuals to plan their tattoo preservation.

Speaker 2 (24:30):
You just do a replica. If you're into this, you
could just do a replica.

Speaker 3 (24:35):
Take a picture.

Speaker 1 (24:36):
Yeah, that's a good picture. Even the picture is a
little bit weird. It is, but it's better than daddy's skin.
I mean that they peeled off of it. I understand
that probably it all is done at this place. But
I go back to your scenario because shere you'll frame something.
Oh wow, we'll frame. Yeah, there's a frame shop that
sends us like cards, we love you, Happy birthday.

Speaker 2 (24:58):
Rick.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
I'm like, well, I got a birthday car from the
frame shop. Oh yeah, okay, but we we'll frame. Hey,
we'll frame a lot of framing going on. But imagine
you're you're the frame person. Oh here comes a bird
and what you got there? Well, got my granddaddy skin,
you know, I mean, I've got it framed it. We
cut off his military tattoo and I want to frame it.

Speaker 2 (25:20):
I got I got my dad's keep on trucking tattoo.
I remember that.

Speaker 5 (25:25):
Out of seventy something, that's what she chose.

Speaker 1 (25:27):
Yes, she was Steelers like I said, I'm like, surely
she's got he had one with a heart with his family,
kid or somebody, something a little.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
More romantic than the Steelers skull hill. Yeah, it's not
just a helmet, it's a skull. Help don't miss that.

Speaker 5 (25:40):
Speaking was Angelica Radsvesky close enough h and talking about
her late husband's ink. And today is tattoo removal day,
August fourteenth.

Speaker 2 (25:55):
I wonder if our guess that we had in the
seats earlier this week, then.

Speaker 3 (26:01):
Yeah, guys, people are preserving like the entire back piece,
along with like the arms and shoulders. Look, this is
the whole want to say.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
That's crazy. I'm glad Greg Gating peanuts before this.

Speaker 3 (26:19):
I'm telling you I'm not a person rug exactly, just
like somebody.

Speaker 1 (26:26):
All right, So people are saying that, of course you
she puts it on TikTok and his shocked that people
had bad things to say. What but somebody, she said,
what does it phase me? Even the people that compared
me to serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
Okay, that's legit. Okay, guys, come on.

Speaker 1 (26:46):
People, Oh gosh, somebody asking do you think if Larry
would make a patch out of somebody's skin. Huh do
you think Larry would take a patch? That's look enough
with the skin stuff? Okay, I mean that that Wow,
that's ugly, a little intense. That's one of those things
you just wonder, where was that conversation, you know, somebody

(27:10):
sitting down.

Speaker 2 (27:10):
Hey, I understand you're upset.

Speaker 1 (27:12):
And look, we all we all love Daddy and and
we all love hey. He was he was a gift
all of us. You're about to put some of his
skin with his arm hair in a frame.

Speaker 2 (27:24):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (27:25):
You know, we have a lot of pictures of Dad.
We've got pictures of his tattoos. Anyway, So today on
Nationals you say Tattoo Removal Day. You know this audience
is vast. I bet there's some bad tattoos out there.
Oh yeah, I bet there's some people that they you know,
there's some tattoo regret.

Speaker 5 (27:45):
They're just bad tattoos, yep. And then there's I've got
a tattoo and little boy, I've thought about getting it
removed because I don't need it. So yeah, it's got
my former spouse on there, and it's on my forearm.
I see it every time I look down. Yeah, I
don't in play. Well, no, I've seen now this one
I've seen firsthand firsthand. Uh you got a little bit

(28:07):
of this going on with even Jelly. I've seen this firsthand.
People who were really really in a dark place, lived
a dark life, tattooed themselves with dark things, and then
then we're redeemed by Christ. Now they're a new creation.
They're new, and they're like, these things don't really represent
who I am now, you know, I don't really need

(28:28):
you know, the crypt keeper you know, down my neck.

Speaker 1 (28:31):
You know, and and various images of darkness. And so
I've seen that before. And then I've had some people
that said they kept them for testimony to remind them
of what ya and then people would ask about them
and then it would open up their doors. So anyway,
it's it's interesting. I heard something yesterday on tattoos, and

(28:54):
I'm still taking back a little bit of how logical
it was and how level headed it was.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
And it came from Adler. That's why. That's why kind of.

Speaker 1 (29:01):
What yeah trying to say, Well, you know, I mean,
let's face it, it's cool.

Speaker 2 (29:06):
I mean I will.

Speaker 1 (29:07):
Say this, He's going to be forty at his next birthday,
and I'm starting to see signs of it. You know,
he's got kids now, Yeah, starting to see signs of it.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
Drinking coffee.

Speaker 2 (29:17):
Yeah, yeah, he's he's coming around. I mean, good for you.
Our little fella's growing up.

Speaker 3 (29:22):
Yeah, thanks guys.

Speaker 5 (29:23):
He speaking of birthdays, today is Hoby's forty fourth birthday.

Speaker 2 (29:26):
Of course you had to get that. Wow.

Speaker 1 (29:28):
Yeah, you know Tibo his birthday today too, by the way,
is it?

Speaker 2 (29:32):
Yeah, I'm feeling good.

Speaker 11 (29:33):
How you doing, Tim?

Speaker 5 (29:34):
You know you've always been an inspiration to me.

Speaker 2 (29:36):
You know, I hope you. I've always thought a lot
of you, speed talked tiny of you.

Speaker 5 (29:42):
You want to do a birthday work out today.

Speaker 2 (29:44):
I'd like to do that because I'm gonna do better, faster.
It's stronger than anybody had ever done it. Nothing like
your finances. It's one of things that covered been making
a lot of money for many years.

Speaker 1 (29:56):
Yeah, it's one of those things that we we we
do sometimes impressions. It's just star impression. That person doesn't
mean it's accurate. But tell them what you said about
the tattoo.

Speaker 3 (30:05):
Well, yeah, I heard you, guys say. You know, I'm
surprised Adler doesn't have a bunch of tattoos. So I
heard you guys say that, and I said, well, I've
always had a rule, my tattoo rule. This is interesting
is I have to once I get a idea for
a tattoo, I have to want that tattoo for a
full year, and I never make it. I've never made
it a full year and been like, a year later,
been like, yeah, that eagle on the back of my

(30:28):
arm is gonna be sweet, you know, like, oh yeah,
the dragon on my back, Yeah, let's do that.

Speaker 2 (30:33):
You know.

Speaker 3 (30:33):
A few days goes by, and I'm like that that
was a probably pretty stupid idea, actually, Chris, And so
I've never made it a year.

Speaker 11 (30:39):
Ever.

Speaker 3 (30:39):
The only one I've got is my ring tattoo for
for marriage matrimony. Make fun of that, Greg.

Speaker 2 (30:46):
Well, well he did. It looks like a sharpie. It
doesn't look like a ring. Okay.

Speaker 3 (30:52):
By the way, I went to a very sketchy place
and did it, Greg, that's why it looks so bad.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
Well, I'm just saying when you look at that, you
don't immediately go, well, that must be a wedding band.

Speaker 5 (31:00):
Show anybody that, Greg.

Speaker 3 (31:02):
Everybody knows what this is.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
It's not even wround.

Speaker 3 (31:04):
I'm sorry, wrong finger, Greg, I showed you the wrong
finger on act anybody. I'm so sorry.

Speaker 2 (31:08):
Sorry, No tattoo on that one. No, but it doesn't
like Greg's tattoo.

Speaker 5 (31:12):
Yeah, tattoo his a little face right right rub below
his finger, nail on that fat.

Speaker 3 (31:19):
We should all just get tattoos. We should all get through,
all four of us, get matching tag.

Speaker 5 (31:24):
What about that the staff picture that you don't like,
We get that tattoo.

Speaker 3 (31:27):
On our backs.

Speaker 2 (31:28):
No, no, real big, I just want addler off that picture.
My face on the shoulder that way.

Speaker 5 (31:36):
If you're standing behind me, you're looking at yourself.

Speaker 1 (31:40):
Charles Manson, Charles Manson tattoo right, But no, the since
this is the era of the tat you know, I mean,
everybody has tattoos. It's not even unique anymore. It's not
even edgy anymore. It's more edgy not to have any.
But so there's so many out there. I think what
you just said, those people that are have not entered
into the tattoo old, I think you may have given

(32:01):
them good advice. If you got some tattoo you think
is awesome, picture it on your arm and come back
and do it a year, lady, if you're still as
excited about it and you've never made a year.

Speaker 3 (32:10):
I've never made.

Speaker 2 (32:10):
It was close, was close. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (32:13):
What I'll probably end up doing is just like a real.

Speaker 2 (32:16):
Big tattoo of Franklin, a real big.

Speaker 3 (32:19):
Tattoo of Franklin on my back.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (32:22):
Honestly, I think I'm gonna do a gigantic cross on
my back. But that's the like, you won't even know it.
No one will know.

Speaker 2 (32:28):
What good reason? That's some even better reason to have one.

Speaker 3 (32:30):
Now I got my family history and then my family
history like on it.

Speaker 1 (32:36):
People actually know it because you will be shirtless out
in the yard or something. Everyone people will notice, people
from the beach, they'll notice.

Speaker 3 (32:44):
But I think that would be really cool to have
my whole back done and like the rest of my bodies,
you wouldn't even know. And then I ripped my shirt
off and everybody gets real attracted to me.

Speaker 1 (32:55):
By the way, this has got to be an exactly
this is this is not true. You have text nation
sometimes you know you can't see the tongue in cheek
on some of it.

Speaker 2 (33:05):
Max the Cato got a tattoo. You'll read anything?

Speaker 4 (33:09):
Why?

Speaker 2 (33:09):
Yeah, will I mean of some count roaches y'all played
in that card theon withify looking at Bubba's on one
arm and mine on the other.

Speaker 3 (33:17):
He did got tattoo?

Speaker 2 (33:19):
Why why would Max do that?

Speaker 3 (33:20):
It is uh oh to tell a sty he got
you got to tell a sty on his arm?

Speaker 5 (33:27):
Okay, Rick, what if you see the logo on the
rug there for your face? What you ought to do
in the store. I understand these temporary tattoos are really big.
You altady have the face as.

Speaker 1 (33:41):
If they say on Amazon you can get a temporary
one made of anything you described it.

Speaker 5 (33:46):
I want Greg to have your logo on his cheek
as a temporary tattoo like his game day or something.

Speaker 2 (33:51):
Yeah, yeah, the you know this that you can walk
in top of the hour.

Speaker 1 (33:59):
All right, So if you've got we do an unscreen
phone calls or whatever you can share with us. You've
got one that you either have removed kind of want
to remove your whole skin.

Speaker 3 (34:11):
To tell us all means it is finished.

Speaker 2 (34:13):
Thank you Direct. That's right, paid in full, paid in.

Speaker 3 (34:16):
Full, Thanks Greg. You're welcome, Greg.

Speaker 1 (34:24):
All right, so we do have an update for you
as we start this hour. Those of you that may
follow us on social media. May have caught the first
hour today We have been promoting that country music superstar
Riley Green will be with us coming up later in
the program.

Speaker 2 (34:43):
This, of course is Greg's world. He and Riley communicate.

Speaker 1 (34:48):
He's from Greg's community, and Greg Greg and he had
a bit of a West Coast strut. He said, he said, hey,
let me ask he's doing it good? You think it'd
be good to you will get Rally Greenham the show?
And I was like, well, yeah, I mean he's huge
and I always enjoyed our conversations with him, and and
so uh, Greg, Uh.

Speaker 2 (35:10):
We had him booked, well what we had him booked?

Speaker 1 (35:11):
My first Uh, I thought I had a good excuse
then because I go to bed early, so it must
have been after I went to bed, But actually I
checked the time and no, it was actually good hour
and a half before I went to bed.

Speaker 2 (35:23):
He gave me so plenty of the heads up, so much.

Speaker 1 (35:26):
Uh you know, hey, this it ain't like it was
the last minute thing on his part at all, considering
he told me yesterday at six thirty and I didn't
see it.

Speaker 2 (35:33):
That's right.

Speaker 1 (35:34):
Anyway, He's been invited to playing the live golf tournament,
which obviously you know you who would.

Speaker 2 (35:40):
Offer that's a big deal.

Speaker 1 (35:42):
Yeah, so, and I knew. I think you must be
playing a concert there too tomorrow. But anyway, he's uh,
he said, hey, can we bump it to Friday? And
I mean I missed it?

Speaker 2 (35:50):
So all the people that.

Speaker 1 (35:51):
Were excited and marked it o'clock you just had had
a delete.

Speaker 2 (35:56):
We're going every every post that I've already got. Yeah,
and again I thought I had that, But you know, Greg,
you could.

Speaker 1 (36:03):
Have even if it was after you were asleep, you
could have checked it when you woke up.

Speaker 2 (36:07):
But that's first thing I do today.

Speaker 1 (36:09):
I normally did, but I didn't have that long drive today.

Speaker 2 (36:13):
But anyway, so it's on me. I'm sorry. I love
the break.

Speaker 5 (36:15):
How he realized that, he went, oh no, I'm like,
what's wrong? I thought he ran out of peanuts or something? Right, Yeah,
he's like, anyway, oh, Rally Rally wants stuff when he
can't come on Friday.

Speaker 1 (36:27):
And then plus he was probably waiting on me to
answer his text. And I just didn't realize I did
it at six am. Love that probably loved that too.
Who knows what's gonna happen? Where does live play.

Speaker 2 (36:37):
Right now indian in Indianapolis. Okay, so at she's not
on the West coast.

Speaker 1 (36:41):
I was afraid you may have texted oh yeah, so yeah,
But eventually we're gonna have him all well to me
tomorrow because I will say this, if if he got
invited to play in the live tournament, what is this
their program or something? Probably yeah, probably, yeah, And so
he's got to do that, and I would rather honestly

(37:01):
let him have that behind him. Yeah, then interview him
tomorrow as opposed to him trying to well, let me hate,
let me make it happen. And he's out on the
course and he's on the cell phone. If we do
get him on, he can make fun of the fact
that I can.

Speaker 2 (37:13):
I hope we didn't think the old Greg. Oh, he's
mad because I changed. No. I just didn't see it.
Didn't see it. Didn't see it.

Speaker 1 (37:20):
I get it if it was like an email or something,
but this was a text.

Speaker 2 (37:23):
I normally see those. N How I didn't see it.

Speaker 1 (37:25):
So you I thought, well, this must have When I
first thought, I said, well, he must have just now
said this.

Speaker 2 (37:30):
It said six thirty yesterday. What were you doing?

Speaker 1 (37:34):
I know you went to see mom and me and
Mom were we were about to watch Who Wants to
Be a Million?

Speaker 2 (37:42):
So, so really it was super important. It's good to
have right on today. That's on me. He gave me
plenty of heads up. He gave me plenty of it.

Speaker 1 (37:50):
Let's talk about how many stacks of trying to be
sharp was there.

Speaker 2 (37:54):
So then there's me. I'm doing what I'm gonna do.
I'm get out of heead. I'm gonna promote, promote the food.
That's on me right so well, at least Greg get it.
That's it. I'll never forget it. Check your text.

Speaker 1 (38:11):
Yeah, I didn't contact him or would be in trouble
on that, But no, that's on me. He gave us
plenty of heads up. And I don't blame him. I mean,
that's a pretty big deal to live there. Once you
had him, you could hand him off to Speedy at
that point, the producer of the show.

Speaker 5 (38:27):
That's even going back and forth with him most of
yesterday on information.

Speaker 1 (38:30):
To tell the text right thirty Fine, Hey, Greg wasn't hard.

Speaker 2 (38:36):
Hey, Greg keeps riley close to Yeah, he won't share
y oh. I know if he was in NASCAR, would
be in real big trouble. And how about this, the
bigger Riley Green gets, the more Greg holtim.

Speaker 1 (38:45):
To I don't bother him, and you know everything, you're
not bothering him, so you won't let us have access
to him? Well, you know how you are? Follow it
like I did, right, he might send you a message.
I want to reschedule y'all.

Speaker 2 (38:59):
Not see it.

Speaker 1 (39:00):
Rileigh Green's schedule to be on the show tomorrow, not today. Yeah,
now I'm not even confident of that, but yeah, that's
what let me see.

Speaker 2 (39:07):
Let me make sure i'm right. Help him.

Speaker 5 (39:09):
So they're at they're at okay, here at the club
at Chatham Hills.

Speaker 2 (39:13):
This was yesterday at six thirty three inches.

Speaker 1 (39:16):
I just got asked to play golf in the live
event in Indiana tomorrow. So let's move it to Friday.
If that's okay with yall. And it is okay that is,
do you tell him it was okay? I did at
six thirty. I mean at six o'clock.

Speaker 2 (39:27):
He woke them up.

Speaker 1 (39:28):
Well, you know, you know country music stars that play
until the middle of the night, they're always up to
say yeah, I know, I'm sure anyway, So I hate again,
I just hate that he sent.

Speaker 2 (39:37):
A message, and I didn't get back with him. Okay,
it's all right.

Speaker 1 (39:40):
Look, you're probably use scheduling guests, not the best idea. Well,
I mean really, I mean that this is just this, this.

Speaker 2 (39:47):
Falls under some reason. I didn't look at my phone.
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (39:49):
Right, Well, we've all been normally the one that gets mixed,
I usually say, well, it just depends.

Speaker 2 (39:54):
The one it gets me is you.

Speaker 1 (39:55):
Didn't look at it today. But it's a short drive.
You would have done if you had that long drive.

Speaker 5 (40:00):
So LIV only has three rounds and it starts tomorrow
and goes Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Yeah, and I'm at livegolf
dot com right now, and there's Riley Green Friday five pm,
August fifteenth concert.

Speaker 2 (40:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (40:14):
Yeah, he's got he's playing a contoct So that was
already on.

Speaker 2 (40:17):
I saw that on the his tour stuff. That makes
sense that the programs today then.

Speaker 1 (40:22):
Yeah, but it must have been the last minute add
to the program because yesterday we weren't. Yeah yeah, yeah,
asked him. I said Thursday Friday. He said, well, I said,
either one works for us. So okay, but hey, Greg, Greg,
check your messages.

Speaker 2 (40:35):
But it's fine.

Speaker 1 (40:36):
You know why because things change. You got stuff like
that out there, you need to be open to looking
at it.

Speaker 5 (40:41):
I'm more impressed that you hadn't touched your phone since
six o'clock yesterday, I.

Speaker 2 (40:45):
Know, and that well I did. I don't know what happened.
That's on me. That's fine, Greg, because I was truly going.

Speaker 1 (40:51):
Well, this is probably had been at least nine o'clock
last night, six thirty, yeah, six thirty three to me
exactly if you really want.

Speaker 2 (40:58):
That, we were even it wouldn't even used to being
dark yet, we.

Speaker 1 (41:01):
Were even doing the thing that well, when people text
us at night, I mean, let's face it to them,
it's regular to us.

Speaker 2 (41:06):
Where are were in bed? And then we're discovered. Now
we don't go to bed that early. No, I don't
go to bed at six thirty, right, I don't. But anyways,
that's on me, and uh, maybe it'll work out. So okay, Well,
look we'll have him on tomorrow. Yeah, it'll be good.
We'll be good. He'll he plays well today.

Speaker 1 (41:21):
Sure, and maybe he'll he'll enjoy his program. He's got
his concert tonight and then and we can ask him
how the concert went.

Speaker 2 (41:28):
And we'll we'll ask him. I think the contrast tomorrow
it's to morning.

Speaker 5 (41:30):
Yeah, tomorrow night. We'll ask him tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (41:32):
Hey, how'd you play? And he's go, Man, I didn't
play real well.

Speaker 5 (41:35):
If i'd finally gotten to sleep and it's six thirty,
my phone went off, somebody texted me, Oh it was Greg.

Speaker 2 (41:41):
Oh yeah, look at that. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (41:43):
By the way, Text nations already all over this. Since
since you didn't see it, what's gonna happen now? So
he's not gonna get this one, and then he will
be on today. That'll be funny.

Speaker 2 (41:52):
Yeah right, yeah, surely. But you'd like to see him
confirm that got that it's early enough. Yeah, of course.

Speaker 1 (42:01):
Even if he confirms it, you won't see it because you
won't look at I'll be looking now.

Speaker 5 (42:04):
How you feel like you're spooking him? Out of the Greenfield?

Speaker 2 (42:06):
I gotta feel like there was something on my phone or.

Speaker 1 (42:10):
You know what you might have been you didn't get
on the network over Mama's I don't know.

Speaker 2 (42:15):
We'll be back.

Speaker 1 (42:17):
Speaking of music, Donald Trump has announced something with the
Kennedy Center Awards.

Speaker 2 (42:22):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. You heard from riley
E Green not yet? Okay?

Speaker 1 (42:33):
So Donald Trump? Donald Trump, has announced Greg that he's
announced his twenty twenty five Kennedy sinner on rees.

Speaker 2 (42:45):
That was always weird to me anyway. Yeah, well you
thank you, Greg, I've got he didn't.

Speaker 1 (42:50):
Yeah, I've got I've got good news for you, Greg,
And then I've got some news that all right, let
me start with the good news.

Speaker 2 (42:58):
You want good news. First.

Speaker 1 (43:00):
One of the honorees for the twenty twenty five Kennedy Center.
I didn't see this coming is Supergroup Kiss. You know
my question is it the original four isn't going to
be the new one?

Speaker 2 (43:18):
Here we go? You know that's well, you know that
Gene and Paul are in. Yeah, there, so you know that.

Speaker 1 (43:26):
But Greg, unfortunately or fortunately standing next to Geen and
Paul and whoever else is with them, brace yourself, George Strait.

Speaker 2 (43:37):
Oh well, not making that up.

Speaker 1 (43:38):
It sounds like this is a bit we put to
I'm on a surprise, y'all here, Okay, Now, I'm not
a fan of his music.

Speaker 2 (43:44):
Well, Greg, you we got that.

Speaker 1 (43:47):
And but if you're going to put celebrities like this,
whatever this Kennedy thing is, there was some reason we
whatever this thing is celebrities and make a huge deal
about it now, I'm playing it now, we're gonna do that.
He I can see why he would be in it,
because he is very big in that genre or whatever
you want to call it. I mean, you can't argue

(44:07):
with his success.

Speaker 4 (44:08):
Now.

Speaker 1 (44:08):
He hadn't got it dying from me because I've never
bought him.

Speaker 2 (44:11):
In got It? No Need, You're so best, Alan, really,
I mean I like him. I like his movies, I
love I love his lies. I'm just saying, why what
I don't get? What is this about? What are these candy?
We do it? A lot of the look, I guess
is what I'm saying. Why the look? Ab ask?

Speaker 1 (44:28):
What do we celebrate? Pardon my parton my ignorance. Who's
Michael Crawford?

Speaker 2 (44:32):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (44:33):
Oh, isn't that the actor?

Speaker 2 (44:35):
I don't know. I think I saw him on with
Kill Need talking about this, I think.

Speaker 1 (44:42):
Greg the audience is saying the original four are going
in tonight.

Speaker 2 (44:47):
I believe it when I say it.

Speaker 3 (44:49):
Michael Crawford is an English actor. He's eighty three years old, and.

Speaker 2 (44:53):
I think we've seen him in a lot of movies too.
Probably Yeah, I.

Speaker 3 (44:57):
Guess he was the Phantom of the Opera. Do we
care about that.

Speaker 2 (45:01):
I'm sorry. We've been it all. Yeah, I'm sorry. Thank
somebody else. I'm sorry for you.

Speaker 1 (45:05):
I'm much rather have George Strait I would. Well, you
got that, guy is all right? Did you know that
The Kennedy Center Honors were first presented in nineteen seventy eight.
The inaugural class consisted of well, the only one I
know is fred is Fredishtaire. Well, what I mean, what's
the description of what they're what they are?

Speaker 2 (45:27):
What is they're They're being honored as being great Americans?
I guess guy's British great great.

Speaker 5 (45:36):
This first started. The Kennedy Center Honors was first presented
in nineteen seventy eight.

Speaker 2 (45:41):
Yeah, I just read that.

Speaker 5 (45:42):
Okay, sorry, I was in here and now in his
first term, did you talk about that about Trump?

Speaker 2 (45:46):
No, he did not.

Speaker 5 (45:47):
He did not attend this in his first his first term,
so this will be his first class of honteries.

Speaker 2 (45:54):
So that that.

Speaker 5 (45:55):
Is that's what's also making big news is that this
is his first one and.

Speaker 3 (46:00):
The honorees are the core criterion is artistic excellence, okay,
and encompassing fields like music, dance, theater, opera, motion pictures, television.
So it's basically just artistic excellence. I thought it was
like even scientists got it too, But I guess not
so the arts.

Speaker 5 (46:19):
Yeah, how about did you talk about George Strait and
being the first country artist?

Speaker 2 (46:24):
All right? Did you know he's seventy three now?

Speaker 5 (46:27):
Anyway, he's the first country artist to receive the Kennedy
Center Honors since Garth Brooks did in twenty twenty.

Speaker 1 (46:32):
I was fixing to say I figured Garth Brooks would be,
but I guess he is.

Speaker 2 (46:36):
I can see that he is.

Speaker 1 (46:38):
Absolutely he's at that level.

Speaker 2 (46:39):
Yeah, is this? What is this? I'm not I mean,
I'm not going to act like that.

Speaker 1 (46:45):
If we're going to give this to a country singer
that's made a huge deal in their career, I'm being
dishonest if I don't go, Yeah, he's big enough for that,
of course.

Speaker 2 (46:53):
Okay, Now, am I going to watch the ceremony?

Speaker 1 (46:56):
I mean, when kiss comes out and when they're done,
I'm not watching George. I'll tell you that nothing against
him personally. I'm just ain't my thing that would be
a personal comment. All right, But but let's let's let's
go back to this. Unless he does Detroit Rock City,
I'm looking at all the people that been in before,
and I'm just telling you this Kiss thing is funny.

Speaker 2 (47:13):
It is.

Speaker 1 (47:13):
Yeah, I bet you can't find anybody even close to that.

Speaker 2 (47:17):
What is he Trump? You broke it down?

Speaker 1 (47:23):
Yeah, I know exactly why He's honoring Kiss and I
and I and and it's a good move. Yeah, the
Kiss army, Yeah, the kind of you know, the Kiss
loyal Kiss were influencers before this influenced thing was ever
called something.

Speaker 2 (47:35):
Absolutely, they were influencers law.

Speaker 1 (47:37):
They were way ahead of everybody else about building this
tribe of people that buy everything you put out and
support everything.

Speaker 2 (47:45):
You do, and they love you and they love you,
and they love.

Speaker 1 (47:49):
You hard for them to continue that for their career
to last, because they even think about this. It was
a gutsy move in the eighties when they said, Okay,
we're gonna take the makeup off because we declining, We're
just going to be an eighty hair band for lack
of a better term. Then that runs it course, runs
its course. Now everybody's missing the original. Here we come

(48:09):
back with the original. It was the highest grossing tour
of the year that year, and they've been touring ever since.

Speaker 5 (48:15):
The story We're looking at is billboard dot com. Who's
the Jenider story. When it says kiss, it lists Peter
Chris Ace Freely, Gene Simmons, and Paul Stanley. That's what
they list. Okay, they're the sixth rock band to receive
the Kennedy Center Honors.

Speaker 2 (48:28):
Could you name one of the other five a rock band? Yeah? Band?

Speaker 5 (48:33):
Oh, Eagles, Yes, they're in it. Okay, twenty and sixteen
they were in it.

Speaker 1 (48:42):
Banned uh, palm death no, yes, yes, accountable corpse uh no,
of course, the Beatles wouldn't have been together.

Speaker 3 (48:53):
You two, that's good.

Speaker 2 (48:55):
You two is in it twenty twenty two.

Speaker 3 (48:58):
Nailed it, nailed now.

Speaker 5 (49:00):
The others were in two thousand and eight, the who
became the first rock band? You know that led Zeppelin
in twenty twelve, Eagles, which y'all said, twenty sixteen, U
two and twenty twenty two, and The Grateful Dead in
twenty twenty four.

Speaker 2 (49:14):
Okay, so I can say kiss.

Speaker 1 (49:15):
But what I'm saying is, if there is a ceremony
getting them all four, there may be a problem. But
then again, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, they
didn't perform together, but they did accept the award together.

Speaker 2 (49:25):
Okay, kiss is in. That's just hilarious. It is. But
Trump wants to be the president that put kiss in.

Speaker 1 (49:33):
Are they going to be wearing the makeup while they're
at the ceremony that's.

Speaker 3 (49:37):
Seen those medals on medals in the makeup?

Speaker 6 (49:39):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (49:45):
So anyway, so we got the thing on kiss so
they'll be they'll be inducted into not inducted, but they'll
receive the Kennedy Awards.

Speaker 2 (49:54):
So we got that. Also a couple of other things.

Speaker 1 (50:00):
This Netflix thing with Charlie Sheen, Well, guys, it was
what what.

Speaker 2 (50:05):
What in the world? We got a couple of about
a handle.

Speaker 1 (50:08):
Yeah, So Charlie Sheen says he is finally ready to
confess and Netflix brutally candid documentary.

Speaker 2 (50:20):
What well, what is he going to confess? I mean
you remember all the Tiger blood? Do you remember that winning?

Speaker 8 (50:27):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (50:27):
The winning he'll win here, he'll win there. Any claim
he wasn't on drugs? Yes, and winning?

Speaker 1 (50:34):
Uh So anyway, it's twenty eleven, it says his infamous
twenty eleven drug fueled meltdown.

Speaker 2 (50:43):
We covered it, We covered it. Yeah, we were there.
It was great.

Speaker 1 (50:47):
I mean right, yeah, that led to his firing from
CBS and all that. So he's he says, I'm gonna,
I'm gonna this is it. I'm coming clean.

Speaker 3 (50:59):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (50:59):
He he is going to just sit here and he's
going to own everything. He's gonna tell us everything. And
he said, these are things that I planned on sharing
only with a therapist. I said, I would never share
share these things publicly. But now I'm going to.

Speaker 5 (51:18):
And it's gonna it's going to dive into family and friends,
handlers of his professionally that we're trying to take care
of him, and then like Denise Richards and others that
we're trying to handle his life from a family perspective
or for close friends of the handles he was given.

Speaker 2 (51:34):
Everybody, what if you're the pr guy that takes care
of him, you got to get him more.

Speaker 5 (51:41):
So in the trailer, Rick it said something to the
effect of like it would be I'm just making like
a Friday, and they were supposed to be filming on
a Tuesday, and he would be telling him from the hospital, man,
I'll make it. I'll be there, you know, back to
you handling him, like how do you plan?

Speaker 1 (51:59):
Hey, don't I want you doctormists to remember when they
asked him if he was bipolar, and he said it
was by winning.

Speaker 2 (52:07):
Yes, they must.

Speaker 9 (52:10):
Be the doctor of bipolar.

Speaker 4 (52:13):
Wow.

Speaker 10 (52:13):
What does that mean?

Speaker 2 (52:15):
I guess that, you know, you're on two ends of
the spectrum.

Speaker 12 (52:18):
Wow?

Speaker 10 (52:19):
And then what once the cure medicine make me like
them not gonna happen? I'm by winning?

Speaker 2 (52:36):
What does that mean? What does that mean? Oh? No,
he said that.

Speaker 1 (52:44):
He said when when there was a time that he
was smoking seven gram rocks of crack cocaine and and
while trying to do the show like like speed, he
said earlier, there's one successful He would keep reassuring everybody
he would be fine, were good, and at the time
he would be in the hospital.

Speaker 2 (53:02):
Okay, if I got out of this hospital, I'll I'll
be there mindy. Oh yeah, So so anyway, so I
will watch that. Oh yeah. So I want to hear
from his inner circles. What I want to hear?

Speaker 5 (53:13):
I mean, because look, that's fine what you say. I
want to know who was having handed.

Speaker 2 (53:17):
Ok you what a handful? God?

Speaker 1 (53:19):
I saw an interview one time, different people, but it
was the guy that managed his motley crew. Oh God
again and him saying the handles He said finally got
to the point where it just wasn't worth it. It
was unbelievable, and I'm sure his people didn't handle him,
they probably would say the same thing.

Speaker 2 (53:36):
It got to the point where it was it wasn't
worth it.

Speaker 3 (53:38):
I got another clip from that interview, guys. I'm sorry,
I got to play it if you guys get ready
for it. Okay, tell me about the last time he.

Speaker 10 (53:45):
Took the last time into drugs. I probably took more
than than than anybody could survive.

Speaker 3 (53:50):
You know, what are we talking about?

Speaker 4 (53:51):
How much?

Speaker 2 (53:52):
I don't know, man.

Speaker 10 (53:53):
I was banging seven gram rocks and finishing them because
that's how I roll. I have one speed of one
gear go.

Speaker 2 (54:00):
People.

Speaker 1 (54:01):
People are saying, they're saying his drug dealer even confirmed it.
People are saying, you don't understand how much that is.
That so he wouldn't exaggerating. There's the drug dealer said
that that was true.

Speaker 2 (54:13):
Ricky's got one year.

Speaker 5 (54:14):
Yeah, did you mention how much he was making per episode?

Speaker 2 (54:18):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (54:19):
I forgot, forgot.

Speaker 1 (54:20):
At the peak he was making per episode, and he
fumbled this one point eight million dollars an episode, not
a year an episode.

Speaker 2 (54:31):
No wonder he was trying to get there. On two
he was at.

Speaker 1 (54:33):
One time when the highest paid people on any sitcom
and he blew blew.

Speaker 2 (54:37):
It at least no pun intended.

Speaker 5 (54:39):
So wow, that's gonna be that September tenth premieres on
on Netflix. It's a two part documentary.

Speaker 1 (54:47):
Okay, on that note, and this will I think I
think all of you can go with us here. But
on that note, a lot of you are texting about it.
We came into the show today, we knew about it.
I think he was nash enough that we can cover
this and it fits right into what we're talking about here.
Not the same problems, but people who keep causing problems

(55:09):
and getting into trouble, and that is football coach Rush Probes.
So now some of you that know Rush Probes, and
I think nationally you can because MTV they did a series,
you know, two Days about his coaching style. Netflix currently,
I think it's still on their title town. That was

(55:31):
when Valdosta, which is a powerhouse going when they went
to Valdosta. Also sixty did ESPN on his whole life
and him having two families at the same time, and
they came out of baggage, a lot of baggage and
of course we we this last job ended weird.

Speaker 2 (55:49):
I don't even know how to explain it.

Speaker 1 (55:51):
Don't not explain what happened in his latest episode not
far from where we all do, the show of pell City,
which is in the Birmingham metro area. So when I
heard it today it's like I couldn't believe what I
was hearing. So so we've had a lot of people
tell you and all of you are texting about it.
Apparently there is a school and I want to be

(56:11):
sure to include the word that's in the title KUSA
Christian Private School, Gaston.

Speaker 2 (56:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (56:18):
At one time Rush was going to coach there and
then and then didn't. He got hired as co head
coach and athletic director. But then he got a better offer.
Yeah yeah, and then he went to where Pell City work.
Course he's going again to everywhere he goes. Something that
was bizarre. We're not sure what happened. Look as far
as a football coach exis and o's he's as good
as anybody. That situation he got there was a group

(56:40):
that wanted him gone after his first year. He survived
that and then a week later quit Yes, all right,
now I want you I want you to hear this
because just picture, I think we've told you enough about
him that you can get the irony of this. Okay,
even if you don't know who he is, but he's
been he's been covered by a lot of people, so
a lot of big platforms, so a lot of you
out there know him. Cousa Chris Christian apparently got in

(57:05):
trouble a coach there. I don't know how to private
school you have illegal players, but from feeling that catch,
I don't even know how you do that. Good very
good team. I think they, like you said, they either
won the championship or played for it right last year
and the year before I came in, Yeah somewhere, but
they've they've been very successful.

Speaker 2 (57:25):
I don't know what happened.

Speaker 1 (57:26):
Don't know what rule they broke, but they've They've suspended
the head coach of coach a Christian. He agreed to
step down for a year and to bring integrity back
to the program.

Speaker 2 (57:35):
They've hired Rush pro. Okay, so it's giving you because.

Speaker 1 (57:44):
You guys stepped down. Now, I don't know you may
have messed that up. Our image is tarnished. Who do
we need to get well? I'll tell you what he gets,
Rush bro and we'll clean this thing right up. So
I mean, that is just fun. I mean, I'm sorry,
that's funny. And somewhere if coach proach is honest, he's
laughing to Yeah, okay, come on, considering all the baggage

(58:05):
and all the things that he's been alleged to have
done and has done and and all this, and you're
the key. It's not that he's It was ironic enough
that that school wanted to hire him the first time.
I found that to be somewhat interesting. But this time
is even bigger because you're bringing him in to take
you through a season because the other coach is in trouble.

(58:28):
You're sending a message we're cleaning and somebody what you
all gonna do to clean up too, we're gonna do
with hiring Rush Brooks.

Speaker 3 (58:37):
They've also hired Charlie Sheen to teach Deres.

Speaker 2 (58:44):
Wow, that just doesn't sound by the way. He sure
doesn't win a lot of games.

Speaker 1 (58:52):
You wow, no x's and those you're not gonna he's
as good as anybody.

Speaker 2 (58:58):
But but but he's going to bring with those wins.
You don't know what it's probably about, how to be
a man. I know that. No, we couldn't write that
with no wow, so you do that isn't there. We'll
be right back Stacklos.

Speaker 1 (59:14):
I've only been to the Bahamas a couple of times,
but I mean they were openly talking about yeah, you guys.

Speaker 2 (59:20):
Came in a good time.

Speaker 1 (59:21):
You know that we shut down August fifteenth, all the
way talked over the thirtieth and I said, excuse me,
and they're like, oh, yeah, there's no need to keep
these places open and people go and take vacations, they
leave the island, and they're like, we.

Speaker 2 (59:35):
Just you can't do it.

Speaker 1 (59:36):
I mean, we're hoping it's not a bad hurricane season,
but there's no way to operate and do business and
tourism during hurricane season.

Speaker 12 (59:45):
It's a challenge for them, and you know it's a
challenge for all the islands down through there. So yeah,
it's it's that time of the year. August, September, early October,
this is the peak of the season. But really Fellas
it's quiet.

Speaker 2 (59:58):
Good.

Speaker 12 (59:58):
We got we got the one system out there erin,
but other than that, it's really inactive. It's been a
fairly inactive year. We've had four junk systems up until
this one, and by junk, I mean they're in the
middle of nowhere. There's short lived in their weak so
Aerin is the one to watch. There is a little
feature that's over the Yucatan that's just going to be

(01:00:20):
a rain maker for Mexico, but Erin should be a hurricane,
should become the first hurricane of the season. This thing
is out in the middle of nowhere, about halfway between
the Lesser Antilles in the coast of Africa, and the
track really looks good. We feel confident in this in
that while this will become a major hurricane this weekend
with winds of one hundred and fifteen hundred and twenty

(01:00:41):
maybe one twenty five, it's going to pass north of
the Leeward Islands, north of Puerto Rico, north of Hispaniola,
and the turn will likely come east of the Bahamas,
which means it will miss all of those places and
most likely this has a great escape route to miss
the United States. This will turn north in the northeast

(01:01:02):
around the Bermuda high It's a weakness there and it
looks good. All the ensembles everything we're seeing this morning,
A very very high confidence forecast This will not impact
the East coast of the United States. There's one potential problem, though,
and that is the island of Bermuda. Have you guys
ever been to Bermuda?

Speaker 8 (01:01:19):
No?

Speaker 1 (01:01:20):
It was It was interesting though, because for some reason
that's where Gary, you know, thought I was, hey, you
having fun in Bermudy. I'm not in Burmod, I'm in
the Bahamas. Oh I thought you was in body.

Speaker 11 (01:01:33):
So no, I've never know what's what's a thousand miles?

Speaker 12 (01:01:35):
Yeah, yeah, no, but Bermuda's a I've never been. But
it's a beautiful I see pictures a lot, and it's
a beautiful little island that's well east of the United States.
But that could be in the path toward the middle
of next week. But again, the confidence is high that
this will be recurving off the east coast of the
United States. And of course you got the social media nonsense,

(01:01:56):
major catastrophic hurricane headed.

Speaker 11 (01:01:58):
For New York City.

Speaker 12 (01:02:00):
Goodness, and you know, people just share away, They'll they'll
believe anything they see. And what one guy this morning said,
we know that you control harp and Kim trails and
you're gonna steer it into Washington, d C.

Speaker 11 (01:02:14):
Right, Uh, you got strange times.

Speaker 1 (01:02:18):
Now we are and people, as you have pointed out,
I'm glad you're also a voice of reason. Is we
have to do our part to say everybody over here,
here's the real world. Now, everybody, look, everybody calm down.
There's no it's so reckless. They couldn't care less what
they do to people as long as they're getting clicks.

(01:02:38):
And can show you how many people listen to it.

Speaker 2 (01:02:41):
Or watched it.

Speaker 12 (01:02:42):
Yeah, yeah, and you know that horse is out of
the barn and it's not coming back. And I think
most people are reasonable and that they're not in that category.
But there's some people that believe anything they see on facebag, Tweeter, Talk, Graham,
you know, all that stuff. It's everything they see is true.
Talk is the worst. I mean, you get on TikTok,
your IQ will drop twenty points.

Speaker 11 (01:03:01):
Within five minutes.

Speaker 2 (01:03:03):
That's true when.

Speaker 11 (01:03:04):
There's a hurricane coming.

Speaker 12 (01:03:05):
And and I've said this before, when I turn on
the TikTok, the only thing the three things I see
people dancing, they're funny, or they're cussing.

Speaker 11 (01:03:13):
One of the three.

Speaker 2 (01:03:15):
There's not a lot of variety, is there.

Speaker 1 (01:03:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 12 (01:03:17):
I'm not a dancer and I'm not much of a
cusser guy. I know all the words. I've worked in
these TV stations for years. I'm not much of a
cusser guy, and I'm not really funny, so it's it's
not a good place for me anyway. The bottom line is, Fellas,
this thing looks like it's going to recurb east of
the United States, which is say, very good thing, unless
you use.

Speaker 2 (01:03:35):
Kim trails to turn it into dec That's true.

Speaker 11 (01:03:38):
A car and kim trails. I have this switch back here.

Speaker 2 (01:03:41):
Yeah, you try to reach for this witch. Unbelievable, it
really is.

Speaker 1 (01:03:46):
So span Let's let's also talk about you had a
big announcement this week, and and I know that, you know,
like everybody there there. Maybe some may not have heard
the announcement yet I think a lot of people have.
Uh tell oh the audience what you announced this week
and what it means to them.

Speaker 11 (01:04:04):
Well, what we're doing. I'm just expanding my territory.

Speaker 2 (01:04:07):
You know.

Speaker 12 (01:04:08):
For years on the media side, I've been confined to
you know, one TV market, but my heart has always
been taking care of the entire state, my home state
of Alabama, and what this new Alabama Weather Network will
do that's it. If there's weather that is urgent, tornado warning, hurricane,
winter storm, whatever, we'll go live and we'll stay live.

(01:04:29):
And here's the thing, Rick, it doesn't matter where you live.
It doesn't matter if you live out in the country
and the boondocks in the middle of nowhere, or if
you live in the biggest city, you will be taken
care of. And so many people are underserved in our state.
And again I'm not knocking television stations, but it's just
the way it is. And listen, guys, I'm from rural
South Alabama. I'm from Butler County. Places you've never heard

(01:04:50):
of before, Georgiana, Ebenezer Industry, Mackenzie, South Butler County, And
that's an example of some places that are really kind
of underserved. And we're going to fix that. And we've
got the people and the resources that I've never had
before to do that. And it's a very impressive operation.
And not because of me, but because of the people
with me. Veteran meteorologists, cameras everywhere, chaser chaser teams i've

(01:05:14):
never had before, and volunteer skywatchers all over the states.
So I feel good about this and it's going to
make a tangible difference in the lives of the people
that we serve. No, and look, guys, I'm in the
fourth quarter. I want to finish strong.

Speaker 2 (01:05:25):
Amen.

Speaker 12 (01:05:26):
I'm not in a two minute warning, but I'm in
the fourth quarter and I'm just getting started here. But
i want to build something that will, you know, help
protect these people for a long long time.

Speaker 11 (01:05:35):
And this is exactly what we're doing.

Speaker 2 (01:05:37):
Well, And you just hit on the practicality of this.

Speaker 1 (01:05:40):
And because I've seen you deal with it before, because
when i'm if I'm watching you in one market or
markets that are covered by filling the blank TV station, Okay,
I'm if it's not anywhere near me, and we live
in a pretty large state. You know, it's not a
small one, and it's not the biggest, but it's not
the smallest. And I go, that's nowhere near me. I

(01:06:02):
want to go back to programming that doesn't affect me.
You you're calling a dilemma because you're like, well, it
may not affect you, but this little community and you know,
somewhere Alabama, it's affecting them. And with your expertise and
all that, sometimes you were limited by that. And now
if the coverage you and your team provide is preferred,

(01:06:23):
and I know it will be outstanding because it always
has been. Well, now you don't have to worry about
that anymore. You're just you're yeah it. It doesn't affect
that exactly.

Speaker 12 (01:06:32):
And I'm still the chief meteorologist for the ABC channel
in Birmingham, ABC thirty three forty that they'll carry our coverage,
but once it gets out of the Birmingham market, we
stay on the air.

Speaker 11 (01:06:41):
We just keep going.

Speaker 12 (01:06:42):
And again, this will serve so many people that and again,
even if you live in a city, times have changed, Rick,
you know this.

Speaker 11 (01:06:52):
People are consuming media in a different way.

Speaker 12 (01:06:54):
Oh yeah, during tornado warnings now, nationally, most people never
watch the weather channel Fox Weather. They're watching youtub And
that's okay. Some of these guys are good at what
they do. And we're going to take the best of
this new world and the best of what I've done
for forty seven years and roll it into something that
all people groups can understand, and they can find us,
and they can consume the media. It's going to be

(01:07:14):
visually interesting. The worst thing you can do, Rick, during
a tornado warning is a stand in front of radar
for seven hours, that's boring. If you can show multiple
streams from chasers on your screen, multiple skycams, that's visually interesting,
Like a car chase in Los Angeles. People will watch that,
and we know that people need to see that to
be more responsive and to do the right thing they

(01:07:35):
need to do to take care of themselves. So I
think this whole thing is going to be really, really
interesting and very exciting for me. I am very energized
despite my old age.

Speaker 1 (01:07:44):
No, you've always been full of energy, man. That's the
reason why you're nowhere near finished. You've got plenty left.
The skywatchers own text are already saying, hey, can you
ask Span real quick about how long will it take
for us to hear back if we've put in to
be a skywatcher about three.

Speaker 12 (01:07:59):
Or four We got a backlog, but we've got it again.
I've got a great team. Jen Naremore is in charge
of that, and Jen's going to.

Speaker 11 (01:08:05):
Get back to you quickly.

Speaker 12 (01:08:06):
And we've got about two thousand now and we hope
to get five thousand state wide. And these are mostly
people trained in spotting. They've been they've gone through skyworn training,
their weather dweebs nerds, dorks, weenies. They love weather, and
you've got them in a slack workspace where we go
there first, the open you know, the open socials.

Speaker 11 (01:08:24):
It's great.

Speaker 12 (01:08:24):
I get a lot of amazing content. I'm thankful for that.
But you get some knuckleheads that try and game the system.
You know, they'll send inappropriate pictures of co or they'll
pull up some old tornado picture from twenty years ago.
With the skywatchers, we know that they're doing the right thing.
But that's a good group. It's going to be good.

Speaker 2 (01:08:39):
I tell everybody, what if they want this service, what
do they do?

Speaker 12 (01:08:43):
I just get the Alabama Weather Network app. We've got
them for televisions, you know, phones, tablets, everything, and you
watch it on your TV, just like you watch Netflix
or Hulu. G that's what most people watch when they
go home. Little icon, click on it. You're good to go.

Speaker 2 (01:08:57):
Okay, all right, James, thanks buddy, and thanks for this.

Speaker 11 (01:08:59):
Thanks guy.

Speaker 2 (01:09:00):
Looks like, yeah, the what will be a.

Speaker 1 (01:09:02):
Hurricane the tropical storm Aaron not really going to be
an issue for really anybody.

Speaker 2 (01:09:06):
Unless Span redirects it.

Speaker 1 (01:09:08):
Unless you redirects it, we look and congratulations on the
new endeavor.

Speaker 11 (01:09:13):
Yeah, thanks guys.

Speaker 2 (01:09:14):
All right, we'll be back.

Speaker 1 (01:09:15):
James Span checking in people from the text Nation going.
James may not think he's funny, but he's funny.

Speaker 6 (01:09:21):
He is.

Speaker 2 (01:09:21):
I agree, We'll be right back to stay close.

Speaker 5 (01:09:30):
Back to the logo of James Span Alabama Weather Network
that you know it's got the suspenders for the state
of Alabama. His red ties actually sixty five since it's
always red with traffic red. Tis Well said, yeah, it's
just always read.

Speaker 2 (01:09:48):
Why is it always read?

Speaker 1 (01:09:49):
It's it's kind of like, well, look and it affects
a lot of lives.

Speaker 2 (01:09:54):
Hey, there it is.

Speaker 1 (01:09:57):
Hey, this was an interesting comment yesterday from the President.
Did you know that President Trump said this about himself
that he knows a lot about grass?

Speaker 2 (01:10:12):
Have you heard this? Have not?

Speaker 1 (01:10:14):
All right, so here he is. I guess to know
this he talking about our parks. I don't know what
he's talking.

Speaker 3 (01:10:19):
About, talking about redoing the grass.

Speaker 8 (01:10:22):
Here we go, We're going to be redoing the parks,
redoing the grass. You know, grass is a lifetime like
people have a lifetime, and the lifetime of this grass
is long thing gone. When you look at the parks
where the grass is all tired, exhausted, we're going to
redo the grass with the finest grasses. I know a

(01:10:43):
lot about grass because I ordered a lot of golf courses.
And if you don't have good grass, you're not in
business very long.

Speaker 3 (01:10:49):
Lindsay, you knows a lot about you know a lot
about Trump, and you can you can do a lot
about grass.

Speaker 2 (01:11:00):
You can tell when he's riffing, you know, and he's
gone off.

Speaker 1 (01:11:04):
Really, all they really wanted to do was say, we're
gonna take our parks.

Speaker 2 (01:11:08):
They're they're in ill repair, and we're gonna we're gonna
come up.

Speaker 1 (01:11:11):
They look beautiful. And don't you know when you you're
the speech right in your hand, Let meet.

Speaker 2 (01:11:15):
You a little bit that grass courses and know a
lot about then the first thing in the guys going
on script, he's going on here he goes, I know
it not about grass. Iden knew nothing about grass. That
was pretty good, thank you, Okay, So.

Speaker 3 (01:11:30):
I don't know, honestly, it's much better than your I
don't go with Georgia. You say Georgia Jeorjiah.

Speaker 5 (01:11:40):
Speaking to pay attention, moving fast.

Speaker 1 (01:11:42):
How about he's speedy's trying to dial in Trump a little.
I mean, of all his impressions. That's not great, No,
but I think it may be.

Speaker 2 (01:11:50):
The best one. You'd say that's the best one. That
still doesn't mean is that good?

Speaker 5 (01:11:53):
You like my hair better?

Speaker 2 (01:11:55):
Gene Simmons. Okay, okay, Yes, people are saying.

Speaker 5 (01:11:59):
Why did Gregg say Roddy Green was on today?

Speaker 8 (01:12:02):
Right?

Speaker 2 (01:12:02):
Coming out? Coming up? Have you heard back from Riley yet?

Speaker 4 (01:12:05):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:12:06):
Probably asleep, Rick. I'll tell you why he's asleep.

Speaker 3 (01:12:09):
Can y'all identify any of these grass types? I got
four types of grass on the on the board and Bermuda?
Which one is Bermuda?

Speaker 2 (01:12:16):
Greg? Bermuda is third from the left?

Speaker 3 (01:12:19):
This one, Yeah, that's Bermuda?

Speaker 2 (01:12:21):
Okay, Greg, how'd you know that?

Speaker 3 (01:12:24):
I'm about to show y'all? But any other guests, which
one's Zoya? Greg?

Speaker 1 (01:12:28):
That's gonna be the second from the layout?

Speaker 3 (01:12:30):
This one?

Speaker 2 (01:12:30):
Yeah?

Speaker 11 (01:12:31):
All right?

Speaker 3 (01:12:31):
So Greg says that's Bermuda. Greg says that's Zoysa? All right?
Any other gases?

Speaker 2 (01:12:36):
I don't know anything about grass?

Speaker 3 (01:12:38):
Raye is one, but I think Greg's right.

Speaker 6 (01:12:41):
Again.

Speaker 3 (01:12:41):
Anybody have a guess which I may be?

Speaker 2 (01:12:43):
Run Ra third from the left.

Speaker 3 (01:12:45):
You think that's ry?

Speaker 2 (01:12:46):
I think it is, all right?

Speaker 3 (01:12:47):
And then Saint Augustine. What do you think is Ryce Beedy?

Speaker 1 (01:12:50):
I don't know what this is, Okay, I think you
got I've been hiring people to cut my grass for
a long time.

Speaker 2 (01:12:56):
Yeah. I don't deal with grass at all. You know
the food.

Speaker 3 (01:13:02):
Even back in the day, you didn't deal with grass
that much.

Speaker 2 (01:13:04):
I was more of a drinker, right.

Speaker 3 (01:13:06):
Gott Augustine, we got rye O Speedy look at the
knowledge you know already. I'll reveal it. I'll reveal it
all right. Speedy called it. That is the Saint Augustine,
and that is the Rye. Greg you were right about Zoysia,
and I think you were right about Bermuda. Yeah, there
you go. Guys, we're about grass.

Speaker 2 (01:13:30):
Did you knowing about grass make you what?

Speaker 3 (01:13:32):
Being weirdly obsessed with about?

Speaker 13 (01:13:35):
Is a guy?

Speaker 1 (01:13:36):
You can go to college a degree in turf management.
I know that, Come on, right, I didn't do.

Speaker 2 (01:13:41):
I know that.

Speaker 5 (01:13:43):
You don't cut your own grass, but if you did,
let's just go there. It's nothing like cutting you on
grass and going out and standing there.

Speaker 2 (01:13:50):
And looking at it for a little bit smelling.

Speaker 5 (01:13:52):
Yeah, it kind of looking at I want to tell
you when the you know, go in take a shower,
come back out and look.

Speaker 3 (01:13:56):
At and go looking at it, looking at it, looking
at it.

Speaker 1 (01:14:00):
I can tell you when you get the line. I
will tell you when the landscaping truck drives off. I
walk up there and looking around.

Speaker 2 (01:14:05):
Yeah, ain't no big dealing. Okay. So I got a
question for y'all.

Speaker 5 (01:14:15):
Okay, I know men can't run in the rain, but
can men run to the bathroom?

Speaker 6 (01:14:21):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (01:14:22):
Yes, okay, yes, I will risk if you call that
that I'm not being manly enough, But that's okay, a
trade out for yeah messing close up, Yes, sir, because
because because you're moving to the restroom to avoid what
Greg mentioned. Because when that happens, you feel more like
you're not a man. You sort of feel like you're
a small baby. So yes, so that's are allowed to

(01:14:47):
do that, okay. Always I was somebody's got a dirty diver.
I was telling a friend of mine day before yesterday,
speaking of that about you know, and addlers still in
this world, and of course we y'all. I don't know
how much do you have to participate in that kind
of stuff for grandkids? Not a lot unless you're not

(01:15:09):
a lot.

Speaker 2 (01:15:10):
Well, it just spends if you get if you're there
with them by yourself.

Speaker 1 (01:15:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:15:13):
Yeah, so you know, and this is.

Speaker 1 (01:15:15):
You know, dad world is a completely different world. And
you might remember the story. It's from a long time ago.
It was so long ago. I only had three kids.
And Brook's big love was the baby. So he was
probably seven months, eight months something like that.

Speaker 2 (01:15:34):
And so.

Speaker 1 (01:15:36):
If you remember this, my oldest son, his little league team,
it was there, not to be with the minor league
baseball team that was local, the Birmingham Barretts now to
bring them out there. So it was something that he
wanted to go to. And Sherry had some sort of conflict.
I don't know, she might have been speaking somewhere. I
don't remember. But I had all three of the kids,

(01:16:01):
and and then I had to add to that going
to a minor league baseball game.

Speaker 2 (01:16:07):
With the kids, with the kids just me, and now
that includes a baby and then two kids that were.

Speaker 1 (01:16:13):
Let's see, so that by the age I guess Brandy
and Blake were probably maybe nine and seven something like that,
maybe maybe a little bit older. And uh and so,
uh so I'm there and and you're okay when you're
by yourself, when it comes to to to this situation
as long as women aren't around. But if they start

(01:16:35):
holding the baby and passing him around and they and they.

Speaker 2 (01:16:38):
Oh, he's got he's got a poopy. Oh boy.

Speaker 1 (01:16:41):
And I was like, okay, and then they start looking
at you like, he's got a poopy.

Speaker 2 (01:16:45):
You gotta do something like I'll just sit there and.

Speaker 1 (01:16:48):
I'm looking at the innings and I'm going I can
make it. And they're oh, he's got a poopy. And
then they all start handing him back down the aisle too,
and nobody wants to hold him now. Yeah, because sure
they were brother moms there who had kids on the team,
and uh so I'm like, and this was you'll go
understand guys. Some of y'all out there, y'all don't understand it.
I know the older dads are going to say the

(01:17:10):
same thing.

Speaker 2 (01:17:10):
Some of you men.

Speaker 1 (01:17:11):
You think it's always been accommodating to dads for changing
tables and things like that. It has it that's relatively
new for there to be a changing table in the bathroom.

Speaker 2 (01:17:23):
That's relatively new. We didn't have that when when our
kids were little.

Speaker 3 (01:17:27):
Okay, no no changing tables and no tampon machines. So
that's changing time.

Speaker 2 (01:17:32):
Thanks for making sure we added that. But you're right,
you're you're right.

Speaker 1 (01:17:35):
I actually went in the bathroom one time. Adler was
taking a nap on the changing table, so.

Speaker 2 (01:17:44):
He was waiting for the podcast to download. Okay, he
had a rough day yesterday. That was Apple's faul n.

Speaker 3 (01:17:49):
I was getting my diaper change, Greg, what.

Speaker 2 (01:17:52):
Do you know he's got a booby.

Speaker 1 (01:17:54):
So so finally, you know, my other two kids are
looking at me like, what's the move here, dad, And
I'm like everybody with me. And so you might remember
the story. It actually worked out beautifully. Now it upsets
and work beautiful, Well, it upsets some people. I don't
know if you've ever thought about this. For So, I
walk that into the common area of the minor league

(01:18:14):
stadium and I realize that the condiment table is perfect height.
The other thing that has the scread the ketchup mustard
all that night, the health code or something. This bothers Greg.

Speaker 2 (01:18:28):
Hell, So I take the baby and I just put
him on that. It's perfect.

Speaker 1 (01:18:32):
I'm not having to bend over. I don't have any
back issues. I mean, it's pretty good to move the
ketchup by the way. Well, no, it was over here,
you know how they have that space. And I did
move the napkins and all that right there use in
case I needed them. And I had my wifes because
if you remember, if you haven't had kids yet, you're
going to discover that you don't go anywhere with that wipe. No,
and you better have as many as you can possibly have, okay.

(01:18:54):
And and so if they're eating so so people were like,
there's people getting hot dogs and I'm like, hey, just
give me a minute. And they realized I change a
baby right there on that and it was beautiful and
they were There were people that the dads that looked at.

Speaker 2 (01:19:08):
Me were kind of like, you know, look at that guy.
He's resourceful. Yeah, but they did. They didn't miss a pitch.
The women.

Speaker 1 (01:19:13):
The women were the women were completely they couldn't believe it.

Speaker 2 (01:19:17):
They were like, oh, what do you know? What was
he doing? And then you know, but I handled it
like broke some type of rulee. Yeah, well you push
about to catch up in the napkins you got.

Speaker 1 (01:19:28):
Well, if you if you remember, I tell you to
remind you that story that was the time that I
jumped in the car, because you know it was it
was dad on his own. I jumped in the car
and got maybe four or five hundred feet on our
street and my daughter from the back said, Dad, you
left the baby.

Speaker 2 (01:19:47):
And I was like, there is a baby.

Speaker 1 (01:19:48):
Not back there, and so I turned around to go
back and he's sitting in his little carrying thing on
the floor, you know, And I come up from and
look at He looks at me almost like, oh, I'm
going to tell mom if I could talk, and I'm
glad he can't.

Speaker 2 (01:20:02):
But I put him in there. You were like those
two guys on raising Arizona screaming.

Speaker 1 (01:20:08):
It was almost the same thing. And I mean the
baby was in the seat and it was fine. He
was just on the floor, and as I was loading
the car, I forgot to pick him up and put
him in.

Speaker 2 (01:20:16):
Let me this or to my babies in public.

Speaker 1 (01:20:19):
Do you ever catch yourself And I'm gonna be gentle
with this that if your kids got a running nose, let's.

Speaker 2 (01:20:26):
Keep it wid Thank you, Greg.

Speaker 1 (01:20:27):
I catch myself wanting to wipe.

Speaker 2 (01:20:31):
Don't just let it cake on his nose.

Speaker 1 (01:20:34):
Raise your hand if you may have to wipe it
and they don't like you wiping.

Speaker 2 (01:20:38):
You can't leave big crust bucket out there. Raise your hand.

Speaker 1 (01:20:41):
If you've ever wiped the nose of a kid, you
didn't know for sure. I look, I'm like, I can't
look at this because I want to. I want to
be able to finish my pretzel. It's working dry, surely
y'all see.

Speaker 3 (01:20:56):
That, Yes, y'all. And and they don't like it at all, Greg,
But it's so especially when they're sick and boogie all bully.
It's hard to keep on. It's hard to keep track
of it. And then they're like crying and there's like
a string in front of their mouth. I'm sorry I
even said that.

Speaker 2 (01:21:08):
That's horrible.

Speaker 3 (01:21:09):
But they react like I'm coming at him with like sand, Paoper,
you covered in crap, Like, yeah, it's a wet wipe,
it's soft, it's fabric, it's a ten cent wipe right here.
You'll feel so much better. They act like I'm coming
at him with like a like a like a like
a steel wall or something.

Speaker 2 (01:21:31):
Bus You let it get caked up.

Speaker 5 (01:21:32):
I mean it's stronger than I mean gorilla glue.

Speaker 2 (01:21:36):
When you're in public with other people, stay on top of.

Speaker 3 (01:21:39):
That, yes, yes, on top of that.

Speaker 1 (01:21:40):
That's hard on the rest of us to see that. Yeah,
stay on top of it. Oh I think he wants
you to hold him. I don't think so.

Speaker 2 (01:21:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:21:47):
By the way, on the on the trip, had had
one of those rare victories because for some reason, you know,
women is that maternal thing.

Speaker 2 (01:21:55):
If a baby that they see that they really really.

Speaker 1 (01:21:57):
Think is cute and precious, could be a family baby,
could be a friend, could be a friend's child's you
know after they're married, you know, like their daughter's new
baby or their son's wife's new baby. You know, if
there's any connection to them, the women immediately want to
hold the baby, all of them. Yeah, And there's nothing better.
And I've even seen videos of people who putting this

(01:22:19):
out about grandparents. There's nothing better than when the baby
prefers you. That drives them crazy. And so we had
this happen. We actually, you know, it don't matter where
you go, you're going to meet people from where we're from.
Ended up meeting this young couple who had relatively new
baby that was cute as he could be. And so
Sherry and I actually knew the mom because her sister

(01:22:43):
was even in the same grave with one of our sons,
So we knew them, and I didn't know the guy
the husband, but ended up saying he saying he listened
to the show and grew up on the show, and
I knew him to I didn't know him personally, but anyway,
but I mean, so it's not like they're total it's
not like the baby.

Speaker 2 (01:22:57):
It's we're allowed to have access to the baby.

Speaker 1 (01:22:59):
Now.

Speaker 2 (01:22:59):
Were people who there's something connect.

Speaker 1 (01:23:01):
We don't know them well, but we were were whatever,
and so we'll come to find out. Sherry didn't know
it is that and this happens. It can even be
bad or good. When you're a beard guy. It's either
good for the baby or it's bad. There's babies that
love beards, and there's babies that hate beards. This baby
loved beards. And so he wouldn't give Sherry anything. He

(01:23:22):
wouldn't go to her. And I went right by Sherry
and he puts his arms out.

Speaker 2 (01:23:26):
Oh yeah, there's nothing better than said there, looks like
he wants to come to it.

Speaker 4 (01:23:29):
Hey.

Speaker 2 (01:23:30):
They're like, he really loves you, and I was like,
I guess he does. I said, did you get to
holding baby? No, he won't come to me.

Speaker 1 (01:23:36):
I'm sorry, And then I said, maybe you should grow
a beard, because yeah, and because the first thing he
did was like, put that hand on little beer.

Speaker 2 (01:23:44):
Yes, like that, and I was like so and so.
Throughout the rest of the trip.

Speaker 1 (01:23:47):
Every time I saw him, I like, well, they'll go
over there, and his name was Cooper, Hey Coop, and
I'd go over.

Speaker 2 (01:23:52):
And he'd come to me. Again. He didn't something bat
you he liked. He like that beard.

Speaker 4 (01:23:56):
You know.

Speaker 5 (01:23:56):
I'd have been the hat you know about when they
get a handful and start pulling on it.

Speaker 2 (01:24:00):
That's what Ezra.

Speaker 3 (01:24:02):
Grabs my beard with two hands and wrings it like
he's ringing out a washcloth. Hey, buddy, that's connected to
my face.

Speaker 2 (01:24:08):
Yeah, I didn't have that.

Speaker 1 (01:24:10):
The little baby I was holding, he was doing that
cautious thing where he kind of wanted to grab it.
He really, I just kind of I don't really know you,
but I like.

Speaker 2 (01:24:15):
That beard, you know.

Speaker 1 (01:24:17):
And by the way, you look fantastic in your hat.
Ernest himing, wait, yes, yeah. The couple that came and
brought their family when they had the small baby that
the mother, we said you can stay, but she didn't
want to because Yeah, anyway, that little baby when I
walked by, reached out to him, and that a great
fale and he was and he was a sturdy little
fel Oh yeah, yeah it was.

Speaker 2 (01:24:36):
Yeah, all right, we'll be back.

Speaker 1 (01:24:43):
From text nation. Hey birds, Hey birds, quick question. You
guys talking about facial hair. Why the guys with just
a mustache get a bad rap. I'm twenty six, I'm
rocking the stash. I'm a little conflicted. How do you
rock a stash the right way without looking like pedro
or a creep?

Speaker 8 (01:25:00):
So?

Speaker 1 (01:25:01):
Oh I'm sorry, Oh that's a Oh no, that's Pedro,
that's pedo. Oh pedophle. Hey, well I think you know,
I mean the length of it, Well, the length of
it is important. I think also it's the era you're
in when you're a trendsetter. Matter of fact, we would
have talked to Riley Green about it. So's he's gonna
be on tomorrow now because he's rocking the stash.

Speaker 2 (01:25:22):
He's still rocking it.

Speaker 1 (01:25:23):
Oh yeah, stashes are in. Yeah, Taylor my son, last
time I saw him had his stash. Stashes are back.
So twenty six, you're really in y'all are bringing it back.
See if that's why I'm with this texture. I don't
understand the pushback. Because there was a time I mean
Burt Reynolds, I mean, was anybody.

Speaker 2 (01:25:40):
Cooler than him?

Speaker 1 (01:25:41):
Time?

Speaker 2 (01:25:41):
Selle it.

Speaker 1 (01:25:42):
I mean there was a time when the stash was
more more prominent than the beard.

Speaker 2 (01:25:47):
No, definitely. And then we went through that fu Man
chew era.

Speaker 1 (01:25:50):
I was in it where we all wore the food
man shoe, uh, the ty Jones, and then and then
duck Dynasty, the beards took over.

Speaker 2 (01:25:58):
Beard beards are everywhere. Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:26:01):
And so the stash is trying to work its way back.
You're kind of caught on the edge of a movement. So,
but you don't want it to look like Speedy said,
be careful. The length of it, the bushiness of it
is important.

Speaker 2 (01:26:14):
All that's important. Keep keep it neat.

Speaker 1 (01:26:17):
For some reason, Uh, dark stashes on light skinned people,
fair people looks a little more dangerous. Yeah, I don't
know why. If you've got a tan, you can get
away with it more.

Speaker 2 (01:26:29):
You know.

Speaker 1 (01:26:29):
Now, if you're if you're like Speedy for his turned gray,
if you've got redness, that's a different animal. A red mustache.
Looking at me, well, it just is. I mean, it's
a differently.

Speaker 2 (01:26:39):
You can't see it till you get up on it.

Speaker 3 (01:26:40):
Right, Yeah, And a lot of the character of the
mustache is that it is kind of up for debate,
you know what I'm saying. And uh, you know how
there's a funny it's it's funny and it's kind of true. Uh,
but you know, workplace harassment versus like kind compliments. It
really just depends on what the guy looks like. You

(01:27:01):
see what I'm saying. Sure with the mustache that it
can be a gray area, And it kind of depends
on what you look like without the mustache and who
you are, how you present you. How do you have
a van? Do you do you drive a van?

Speaker 5 (01:27:19):
The mustache needs to it can't be too short. It
needs to come down fast past the edge of the mouth,
I think, like for you Adler, Like right now I'm
cutting off your beard, Like if your if yours came.

Speaker 2 (01:27:31):
Down there, are you gonna ask him first? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (01:27:34):
So so I'm seeing you right now with the mustache,
but it would come down all.

Speaker 2 (01:27:37):
The way to right here.

Speaker 3 (01:27:39):
Yeah, you know, he needs to go past the edge.

Speaker 2 (01:27:41):
Would you do that?

Speaker 3 (01:27:42):
Like when you smile, it should come down just a
little bit.

Speaker 2 (01:27:45):
Just a little bit. Yeah, you can't be too short.

Speaker 3 (01:27:47):
What about like a really really short one, just right
in the middle, like the Charlie Chaplin.

Speaker 2 (01:27:51):
No, nobody, Hitler. Hitler took that away. You can't do it.
Do that?

Speaker 3 (01:27:58):
You do it for a day, the Charlie Chaplin.

Speaker 2 (01:28:01):
Okay, please do do you? Do you agree that Sam
Elliott is on the Mount Rushmore. That's a mustache text Nation.
I agree with him.

Speaker 1 (01:28:09):
That's a mustache there. Yeah, and he wears it. That's
one of the downturns.

Speaker 2 (01:28:14):
What you do? What do you think about?

Speaker 1 (01:28:15):
And Todd Jones did this where you take it and
you come all the way down but the chin is
shaved and the musha comes all the way down.

Speaker 2 (01:28:25):
Chees when you keep this too, you know, it's it's
a little bit of beard. You know. Do you call
that food man shoe as well? I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:28:32):
Yeah, Riley Green's got a little bit of the I
don't know what to call it. It's uh soul patch.
I was gonna call it something else? Shall it something else?
He's got a little bit of of the soule patch
going on. I think that's a good look. I think
I'm gonna go with this look right here, and people
will confuse me for him.

Speaker 5 (01:28:52):
Yeah, so his goes down past the edge of his mouth.

Speaker 2 (01:28:56):
That's that's good. FedEx driver yours it and bad mm hmm.
That just sent it.

Speaker 5 (01:29:01):
Y'all are texting there and stuff. Would you see a
little thick Yeah, you can tell it. He's just bringing
it in.

Speaker 2 (01:29:07):
That one looks a little bit.

Speaker 5 (01:29:08):
It's got to start somewhere, guys.

Speaker 1 (01:29:10):
That's that's that's what I call the trade school mustache
a sharpie, right, yes.

Speaker 2 (01:29:16):
Yes, yes, mustache. You just got to give up on
that ain't working.

Speaker 1 (01:29:21):
Yeah, last time Reese came home he had one. I
was like, wow, okayd Earnhardt had a good stash. Oh yeah,
Wilford Brimley a bit much, Wilford Brimley a bit a
bit mon. Yeah, that's a good stash right there, it is. Well,
that's a good one.

Speaker 2 (01:29:34):
Who is that?

Speaker 1 (01:29:35):
I don't know who that is. Let's say, been rocking
it for years. Yeah, yeah, that's a good stash.

Speaker 5 (01:29:41):
You feel like a stash should cover the top lip
or keep it trim.

Speaker 2 (01:29:45):
Keep it trim. I don't I don't want to hanging
down in the kisses she's kissing your stash. No, no,
you can't have it hanging down in your mouth. Now,
you're tickling her lip. I don't like that. Let's food.

Speaker 3 (01:29:56):
Well, there's a little bit of I think seasoning in
there for you, lady.

Speaker 1 (01:29:59):
Yeah, I think I think all of you are right.

Speaker 2 (01:30:04):
I really believe it's what Greg talks.

Speaker 1 (01:30:05):
About about people who not not they didn't have a choice,
but they decided when their hair start thending, to go
completely bald like speedy.

Speaker 2 (01:30:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:30:15):
It just doesn't work for everybody, right, And I think
mustaches don't work for everybody. You know, you you you
can desire a mustache, but not be a mustache guy.

Speaker 3 (01:30:24):
Yeah, you don't want to look like Kip from I.

Speaker 2 (01:30:26):
Can't grow a good beard, so I don't.

Speaker 1 (01:30:28):
Yeah, my my beard is not it's still you know,
it's a it's a bit of a mess. I don't
think that a mustache. Course, my mustache is almost completely
gray now. So yeah, me with just a mustache is
not a good one.

Speaker 3 (01:30:43):
What about the ron burgundy?

Speaker 2 (01:30:44):
That's not that's a good I got a caterpillar lord.

Speaker 1 (01:30:47):
Yeah, but but I'm not sure. I don't really are
you okay? Did he go too much shaving on the
very top?

Speaker 3 (01:30:54):
I never know what to do with the nose gap. Yeah,
because you don't want to take any nostrils, right, you know,
min't go up up into my note.

Speaker 4 (01:31:01):
Right.

Speaker 3 (01:31:01):
I don't like that feeling at all. But then when
I I trim the gap, I look weird. I look
like Ron Ron Burgundy.

Speaker 2 (01:31:06):
Here, Tom Selleck, Raleigh Fingers was a good one. Ohers
the curve, Mark Spitz see at one time this was
you know, so you go stash, she would look good.

Speaker 3 (01:31:17):
We should all go to hul Cogan for November.

Speaker 2 (01:31:20):
Okay, we'll be right back.

Speaker 1 (01:31:26):
So earlier we we we heard from Trump a little bit.
Here's a reference from the NFL to Joe Biden.

Speaker 2 (01:31:34):
Believe it or not.

Speaker 1 (01:31:35):
Now, Aaron Rodgers is gonna get flack again from this.
I'm sure, but he'll he'll get flack. You know, he
keeps complaining about his helmet. He keeps he does not
like that old He's still complaining about this.

Speaker 2 (01:31:49):
Help yet and I'm sorry to get past it. But
in this will have a good stash sometimes. Yeah, and
he works.

Speaker 1 (01:31:55):
But in this interview, you know, it's training camp right now. Yeah,
we're going. Are you watching Hard Knocks it all? I
watched some of it, some of it which would be
the bills from last year, right.

Speaker 5 (01:32:04):
No, no, it's this bill because it's the last year
in their current state.

Speaker 2 (01:32:08):
Well Hard Knocks is current.

Speaker 1 (01:32:09):
Yeah, eachweek's a brand new show. Just happened, okay, all
the way up through the cut. But it is training
camp right now. Aaron Rodgers is being asked about him
getting too old to play in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (01:32:22):
So here he is one of the weird things is
and I'm twenty one years in the league. So I'm
over there. Who do I know on Jacksonville?

Speaker 13 (01:32:30):
You know, like I know Heath Farwell and the special
teams coach that I played against him, Chad Morton, he
was with us, and I've met Trevor a few times.
I was kind of looking around, going doing the Joe
Biden like, all right, well, I guess I don't know
anybody here, so I'm gonna just walk off. And I
found Cam and the teacher, and I heard walk next
to them.

Speaker 1 (01:32:49):
You mentioned you gravitate towards the old, had the potential
while trying to stretch with different guy.

Speaker 2 (01:32:56):
I'm pulling to Joe Biden looking around. I don't know
where I'm at.

Speaker 3 (01:32:58):
Funny, I'm hanging out with the old.

Speaker 2 (01:33:00):
Twenty one years in the league. It's pretty impressive. Been
in the league that long, he said.

Speaker 5 (01:33:05):
So he's been in the league as long as race
is old.

Speaker 1 (01:33:07):
How about wow years man. Okay, Bengals fans, let's face it,
you underperformed last year. Yeah, you underperformed. The offense was fine.
You just couldn't stop. No, it couldn't stop. But maybe
here's a good sign for the Bengals from camp. We
have a pretty pretty big scuffle here at training camp.
Uh and this is during the team when they go

(01:33:29):
eleven on eleven. If you if you want a little
more aggressive defense, maybe this is a good sign.

Speaker 2 (01:33:33):
They're fighting and speedy.

Speaker 3 (01:33:34):
Is this audio good or is it just visual?

Speaker 2 (01:33:37):
It was it was visual for me. I didn't hear anything.

Speaker 5 (01:33:40):
It was just a lot of skirmishing off in the background,
a little some whistles and stuff.

Speaker 1 (01:33:45):
So they look fullball on fight sixty four and needs
to get a little more aggressive. Yeah, you don't want
sixty four yet. That was not much of an effort,
that's it.

Speaker 2 (01:33:52):
Yeah, so here they picked it up a little late.

Speaker 5 (01:33:56):
Yeah, well they took him to the ground, and you know,
this is a little bit like they caught the video
kind of caught it late. It was a little bit
more to it early. But in Hard Knocks this was
a big issue with I think, is it Buffalo Joe
number forty four for the Buffalo Bills. He's from Buffalo,

(01:34:17):
he made the team last year. Came out of nowhere.

Speaker 2 (01:34:21):
The story. It's a really cool story.

Speaker 5 (01:34:23):
And I think that's what that Buffalo Joe Anderson.

Speaker 3 (01:34:26):
Yeah, and and.

Speaker 5 (01:34:29):
He took one of the running backs to the ground
and he didn't mean to. You could tell he kind
of They were working towards his sideline and some of
the offensive linemen came over and they were not happy.
They were like, hey, keep him off the ground, man.
And then that, I mean they were mad. I'm talking
about real mad. And so I guess if you're just
study and they don't want you to go into the ground,
plus you stay off the quarterback.

Speaker 1 (01:34:48):
Well, well no more than they were doing. I don't
think got hurt the video we saw. I was expecting
something when I looked like they were. When I look
at football right now here.

Speaker 2 (01:34:58):
I go crotchety, old man.

Speaker 5 (01:35:00):
They have live periods, just so you know, but this
one was not.

Speaker 2 (01:35:04):
Well, what I'm saying is and I don't know how
much live they do, and I'm glad. I'm glad they do.

Speaker 1 (01:35:10):
I'm glad they do some live And I understand the
reason for the quarterback, and I don't, and I don't.

Speaker 2 (01:35:14):
I guess I don't have all the answers. But when I.

Speaker 1 (01:35:17):
Watch football these days, you talk about elevated offensive numbers,
I mean these offensive numbers, they're playing under a completely
different They're playing a completely different game. Yeah, and I
will tell you what. Some of the yards after the
first contact. Tackling is so bad right now. I mean

(01:35:38):
it is pathetic. I mean, I'm tackling at every level
of football right now is horrible. I mean, and I
think a lot of it is. And I understand. You know,
as these players get bigger, stronger, faster, you can only
take so many collisions. And people are getting hurt now
just by the sheer force of of of the energy

(01:35:58):
of these incredible athletes. And I understand that. So I'm
not saying you should go back to the way it was,
you know, when we were all coming up, because you
probably couldn't survive it, not because we were superior, but
because they're The athletes are bigger, stronger, faster, and the
collisions are more severe. But the problem is if you
don't get much action. You know, of all the things

(01:36:21):
in football, all of it you can do and be
ready for the game, except for tackling. Yeah, I mean tackling.
If you're not doing it, and all of a sudden,
you're in a game and everybody's coming at you full
speed and you got to find a way to get
them on the ground. But you're never allowed to get
anybody on the ground up to the game. Just the
tackling is just horrible. And then all the rule changes

(01:36:42):
and everything. So some of these like you see backs
and receivers get these extra yards. There was a day
they would never got that extra yard because people the
way people tackled, they.

Speaker 2 (01:36:51):
Never got away with that.

Speaker 1 (01:36:52):
It's not them really running through a tackle as much
as the person tackling them is just not very good.

Speaker 2 (01:36:57):
Yea. As far as tackling.

Speaker 1 (01:36:58):
The you know the thirty thirties, they replay them in
the eighty five Bears, and they were talking about their defense,
and while they were talking, they were showing highlights. First
of all, they would be thrown out of the game
for every one of those here. Yep, it'd been targeting
it was. It was violent.

Speaker 2 (01:37:12):
I mean violent, No, it was.

Speaker 1 (01:37:15):
It was Again, I understand, I'm trying to be reasonable.
If we allowed that kind of violence that we once
allowed with the current athletes, current athlete be tough. I
don't know if body parts will be flying on I'm
telling you you know it's because.

Speaker 2 (01:37:31):
That's a lot of force. Yeah, I'm talking about the
guy running as much as the guy tackling.

Speaker 1 (01:37:35):
I mean, there's some pretty big old people moving really
really fast, you know.

Speaker 3 (01:37:41):
Speeded. Two years ago, Joe Andrewson was tailgating with his
girlfriend at a Bill's game, cheering on the team he
grew with, rooting grin.

Speaker 2 (01:37:50):
It's Vince Papolli all over again.

Speaker 3 (01:37:52):
Fast forward, He's on the Bill's roster.

Speaker 5 (01:37:54):
He went to, uh, how did that happen? He was,
it's a it's a really cool story.

Speaker 2 (01:37:59):
Greg.

Speaker 5 (01:37:59):
Last year, I want and I called on the Hard
Knocks when he was kind of breaking down his story.
I believe he went to some camp or some rookie something,
another free agent whatever, and he really turned heads and
they were like, well, we'll give him a shot. And
he got in there and they said his work ethic, he.

Speaker 2 (01:38:17):
Outworks every course. He does, and always it was a
little bit about psyche.

Speaker 5 (01:38:25):
You would like I carries himself, but it's a little
bit of Romanowski to us to him. Or remember when
Romanowski said whenever he would get banged up, he wouldn't
come off the field because he thought he would never
get back on there, because he couldn't believe he was
even out there. It's a little bit like that where
he's like, man, I've got to work hard to stay
out here.

Speaker 1 (01:38:42):
What was the name of the Vince for probably movie
mark Marky Mark played play?

Speaker 2 (01:38:49):
Was the name of the movie?

Speaker 3 (01:38:50):
Uh, Invincible?

Speaker 2 (01:38:53):
I knew it was something like that.

Speaker 3 (01:38:54):
He was an undrafted free agent and he made the
roster just a summer ago, Joe and so, yeah, he.

Speaker 1 (01:39:01):
Did play college ball. Yeah, but pabably didn't even play
college ball.

Speaker 2 (01:39:05):
That was what was amazing.

Speaker 1 (01:39:06):
But they exaggerated in the movie that he basically they
pick up football in the neighborhood.

Speaker 2 (01:39:10):
Is that saggerated?

Speaker 1 (01:39:11):
Well, I bet when he played that one game in
the middle of the season, remember, because I'm sure they
added that. But you know, I'll tell you what. He
was hard to handle, hi backyard ball?

Speaker 2 (01:39:21):
Yeah, yes, he was, but buff with Buffalo Joe.

Speaker 5 (01:39:24):
He would even be like halfway through the regular season
last year, in the back of his mind, he's like,
if I don't perform, I'll still get cut.

Speaker 1 (01:39:30):
He has that Buffalo Joe Buffalo Joe calls him that.

Speaker 2 (01:39:37):
BF. We uh we continue as a height this year
for Rick Burger Show. Hey, go ahead.

Speaker 4 (01:39:47):
Speed, Yes, sir, after fourteen years of trying, I finally
got in and got me a seat to the show. Yes, sir,
so I only got one. So could I bring a
long chair and let my wife come with me for
a birthday? When is this, uh September fifteenth?

Speaker 2 (01:40:03):
Yeah, just bring her in. Come on, We've got chairs. Yeah,
you can be a WB wife bringer. We'll make it
work by sure.

Speaker 1 (01:40:11):
Well, and what we're gonna do, We're gonna let him
swamp in and out when that's sitting car on here,
and what you do remember do not leave her in
the car without the AC on it.

Speaker 2 (01:40:21):
Are the window crash?

Speaker 1 (01:40:21):
Absolutely we continue, Rick Burgess showing screen phone calls go ahead, No,
why can't.

Speaker 6 (01:40:26):
I just celebrated our forty fifth anniversary this past Monday.
And when I met her, she had a dog and
a cat, and almost the entire time we've been married,
we've had dogs or either cat. So I really enjoyed
the segment yesterday on y'all talking about him. But this
last one that I had, he was scheduled for surgery
because he had a tumor, cancerous tumor on the bottom
side of him, by the sides of the baseball, and

(01:40:48):
he ended up getting in one of my cars and
passed away that way, but brought a lot of grief.
But so the segment on the dogs and the cats
yesterday met a whole lot. But I've come to the
conclusion dogs especially cats probably in there too. They take
a lot of time, a lot of money, a lot
of work, and there's grief at the end. So I

(01:41:08):
hope that this show would use your platform, because if
I'm ever in charge of dogs and cats, We're going
to ban the breeding of all dogs and cats until
we get every single one of them adopted out of
these shelters. And you're gonna see smiling faces on dogs
and cats, and you're gonna see a lot of people
on the side of the road in orange jumpsuits.

Speaker 14 (01:41:32):
All right, if he's in charge of the dogs and
the cats, we're gonna quit breeding until we get all
these others with a home, and now who's in jail?

Speaker 2 (01:41:43):
Who's the people who keep breathing?

Speaker 3 (01:41:48):
Yeah, you're going to stop the dog. You quit that day,
you quit dog back, you quit that dog. Is he
going to stop them?

Speaker 2 (01:41:54):
I don't know. He said he's in chargebody could be
in charge of dogs, not breeding to follow our How
are our powerball powerball jackpot winners do it? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:42:10):
Now, I've never seen something go south so fast. This
is a power ball jackpot winner.

Speaker 2 (01:42:17):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:42:18):
One day, one day after winning one hundred and sixty
seven point three million dollars, one day after we got
body cam footage of of of of this person who
just one kicking your deputy in the face. Okay, so
that's great money.

Speaker 2 (01:42:36):
Don't make you happy? Your face down? The ball? Run now? Now?
Now why is he? Why is he upset? Step it up?

Speaker 3 (01:42:43):
I just got kicked.

Speaker 2 (01:42:45):
Oh no, I just got kicked. What what's buying back?

Speaker 6 (01:42:50):
Right?

Speaker 2 (01:42:50):
That him?

Speaker 1 (01:42:50):

Speaker 3 (01:42:51):
That's him one, that's him. He's good.

Speaker 2 (01:43:00):
Take the tackle, takedown.

Speaker 1 (01:43:05):
One hundred and sixty seven plus million dollars and I'm
still drunk out here fighting the law.

Speaker 2 (01:43:13):
Where do you think you're going?

Speaker 1 (01:43:14):
So drunk and is there people laying all over the
free This is one day, one day, one day.

Speaker 2 (01:43:20):
Into my new life. Celebrate one celebrate in my new
life one day. Who thought this guy got held the money?

Speaker 3 (01:43:27):

Speaker 2 (01:43:28):
Oh my goodness, where is he going?

Speaker 5 (01:43:30):
I don't understand where it so like, let's say you
get out of there right there?

Speaker 2 (01:43:33):
Where are you going?

Speaker 3 (01:43:35):
Towards the lake? He's running towards?

Speaker 1 (01:43:38):
Did you see the policeman just give him a little
bit of a pushing and he lost his footing.

Speaker 2 (01:43:42):
He barely even pushed him.

Speaker 1 (01:43:44):
Goodness, he's getting started off so right there we barely
see the cook the kick so right there it is?
Was that him on the ground and he kicked the
deputy on the ground in the head?

Speaker 2 (01:44:00):

Speaker 4 (01:44:01):

Speaker 3 (01:44:01):

Speaker 2 (01:44:04):
Wow? Did dbe ever?

Speaker 1 (01:44:06):
It's not you know, it's not a new statement, but
I want all of us to remember it right now. Yes,
this kind of money only amplifies who you already are.

Speaker 2 (01:44:15):
And in this case, it was not a good match. No.

Speaker 1 (01:44:17):
If you're if you're drunk tatman, you've just been elevated
to a rich drunk tatman rich.

Speaker 5 (01:44:25):
A right, So he won the Kentucky power Ball.

Speaker 2 (01:44:28):
Uh and he was in Florida, of course it was.
He had to go to the beach.

Speaker 5 (01:44:32):
It's James Farthing, fifty one felon account of battery on
a law enforcement that's not a good to his demeanor
of simple battery and resisting an officer connection as well.
Uh And it was April twenty ninth, was the incident.

Speaker 2 (01:44:50):
Did you did you count? And too many tattoos? He
got charged with that? Did you did you catch?

Speaker 1 (01:44:55):
What the guy said on the ground the deputy see
the other guys didn't know he'd been kicked, and he
basically is calling on I'm paraphrasing, hey, elevate. He came
in the face and this is just yeah, this is
not this guy's this guy's show.

Speaker 2 (01:45:07):
And then he'll he'll get aggressive. I love what he
takes off, running like he's going somewhere. Where's he going? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:45:12):
Sure, let's y'all might already said this while I was
queuing it up. The whole chaotic scene went down and
in Florida started with an argument with Farthing allegedly boasting
about his massive winnings.

Speaker 2 (01:45:22):
There you go.

Speaker 3 (01:45:23):
Another patron apparently questioned his story, and the situation reportedly escalated,
with Farthing allegedly punching the man in the face because.

Speaker 2 (01:45:30):
The guy didn't believe that you didn't win, no. One
million dollars.

Speaker 1 (01:45:36):
Yeah, And then that guy's defense, he doesn't look like
anybody that has a hundred dollars.

Speaker 2 (01:45:40):
You're right, you're right.

Speaker 1 (01:45:42):
You only say he's gonna buy tattoos. Tattoos he has,
