Four four shows are are are are are left, and

(02:49):
we will have the big Christmas party on Friday. Then
it will be a lot of best of moments from
the first year for a couple of weeks and then
Lord willing, we come back on the fifth of January
for twenty twenty six and beyond uh and we are
excited about that opportunity, and we have certainly enjoyed what
has been, you know, quite a year. It's been a grind.

(03:12):
It has been a grind. Uh and you know it's it.
There's a there. I mean, hey, that rest at the
end of the year is number one.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
Yeah, to be on Friday, last Friday.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
If I need Yes, if you don't believe that we're
limping into the stable, just go back and hear Adler
on front.

Speaker 5 (03:30):
I'm just trying not to have a like a cry
baby emotional breakdown into the last four shows, and that'll
be a win for me.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
You know what.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
All Right, you came in, you were walking like like
you were ready to go. Four more baby, four put
your fours.

Speaker 5 (03:43):
Up, get your fours up, and you know, I want
to wish to celebrate like the first year at to end,
like we could, like I was thinking about this last night.
We hed like smoke some cigars or something. But I
also want to be a good example, so let's not
do that.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
Well no, actually, what we could do is go ahead.
I just we could get some high school players come
in here and smoke it with out there fire.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
Who's nineteen anybody over?

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Anybody owned up for these cigars. All you missed the
day when you were twelve and you could buy skull.
I know, no, they didn't care, no, you know, and
you could buy cigarettes if you wanted. Oh of course
you could. You know. It's a you know, it was
a tougher generation, not over your healthy, not a very
healthy generation. How about the you and speeding? Now noticed?

(04:27):
And you know, I just kind of forgotten this world. So,
you know, we went out to eat Friday night, last
Friday night with Gary. Hey, I got a little place
down there in Clinton. I'll take you all too, And
so he took us to this place and we finish
the meal and often we look and Gary has put
in a dip and yeah, I was like, we got

(04:47):
you got your dip there? And I was like, is
that skull? He goes, no, he's he's Copenhagen. He had
him a dip in the lobby and we're not. We
ain't paid yet. You know, I got him get a lift.

Speaker 6 (05:00):
I insulted him if I asked him if that was
a pouch.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
Oh yeah, he looked at me like pats, Yeah he did.
I wanted to get and I wanted to get all in. Yeah. Sure,
you know it's you know, if you ever have anyone
in your life that is addicted to dip. I mean
you go for that ride with him, Hey, but that

(05:25):
clear bottles was spinning. Oh my gosh, you you you
get I like, say, my roommate in college, Greg Haystack Stewart,
let me let me tell when he knew he had
a problem when he started having to use his dips
and put it in his top lip. I mean his
dips had to be right in the middle of his
center between his two front teeth. And I said, you
think that's maybe an issue that it's eating up the

(05:47):
rest of the normal bottoms through worn out. Yeah, the
bottom was worn out so bad he had to start
taking dips in the top lip. I was like, buddy,
you got to do something. Wake up right when you
wake up the morning, your first thing is I'm gonna
get me a dip right off saying no, let me say,
my whole life revolved around him hearing that sound where
they would take that and and they and they clicked

(06:08):
the back of that Oh yes, and and they're getting
it all together, get that dip, and then he'd be over.
We gotta stop and get somewhere and get some diva gee.
And I'm like, I'm like, you know, can younot? Wait? Well,
I gotta have dip. Gotta have dip now.

Speaker 5 (06:21):
That comf is so gross that even the Harley mechanics
at the Harley shop that I worked at asked our
boss to spray paint the bottle that he would always use,
and he did because it was just too gross. So
we can't see in there, buddy, you don't want to
see in there a.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
Good clear bottle. I want you to picture Adler a dorm,
a dorm room, okay, because you know we were and
we were older, because we were we were freshman in college. Uh,
I want you to picture a dorm room. You know
how how great those are? Anyway, and around the dorm
room there's various I mean, and he did because he
didn't like to switch. He would get a two liter

(06:57):
and and just until it was full, he was just
spit in a and those two laders were all over
the room. It was terrible. Yeah, it was horrible. So
uh so, anyway, does he did he ever beat that?
His stack still dipping? I think he is, is he?
I can't see him without a dip. I can't either.

Speaker 5 (07:16):
Back to you guys's point of little kids being able
to buy it, it is a highly addictive drug.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
Addicted. I remember saw that first add Yeah, this was
I guess they won't let him do it now, but
years ago, and it was like somebody, I think at
Leasta's dad, you know when if you're go into surgery,
they'll get you there before daylight. Oh yeah. So we
were all sitting in the waiting room and it was
it wasn't even sun up yet, and all of a sudden,
the elevator opens and here comes people with gowns pushing

(07:44):
their IV poles outside so they can smoke. Patience, You're right,
pushing their IV poles. It looked like the walking dead.
And they all got out there and stood around and
smoked with their IV polls and then went back to it.
It's unbelievable, yeah, Patience, these were paid reationship. Well, it's
it's highly addictive because you well, think about it. If

(08:07):
if it wasn't addictive and it didn't do something for you,
why would anybody do it? You know, it looks so good.
I like the ones that because everybody had their own
style that lit would be sticking out so far. Yes,
because you remember the original commercials had Walt Garrison. He said,
just a pinch between your cheek, and gum boy took
that to levels that I mean some people, I mean

(08:27):
it would be unread and getting real tight. You know,
did you ever dip it all? Now? It wasn't my thing.
I tried. It didn't go well. Anybody else dip now,
it wasn't my thing. You did for a while, not
for a while.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
But I threw up over the side of a canoe
one time.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
Okay, you know if you know what I mean. So
i'mna dip with my buddy today. Yeah. Always. I've told
the story about when me and dad were fishing and
I was a little kid, and I kept hitting him
up about that Red Man. I tell you what, buddy,
you want to get you a good little jall full there?
That didn't turn out good at all? What was going on?
Not red Man? Red Man, ain't nothing but Pap Paul.
Oh yeah, red Man. I got.

Speaker 6 (09:03):
I got talked into it in the ninth grade picture
and it was Copenhagen put something in my mouth.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
That's the stoutus, buddy. I got. So I was walking
down that hall, I got so dizzy. Oh yeah. I
sat down and I was like, well this is fun.
Started turn off. Oh yeah, I started turning pale and
everything else, and I was like, any any of this
never went back, any of us four. And I know
we make the joke about you, but I know you
don't any of the four smoke for any amount of time. No, No,

(09:32):
just a few times when you just knocking back a few,
you know, playing in the band every now and then,
you got to have one in your mouth.

Speaker 5 (09:40):
Yeah, playing drum in that bass, Playing drums with one
very difficult. Both hands are really tied up and you
can't get it out of.

Speaker 4 (09:48):
Just be bouncing.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
But you look so cool you can handle it.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
I want I want to I want to ask you
more questions because I know the next question is ever
had one of the good ones? Yeah? Honestly didn't mind
a cigar. Yeah, I.

Speaker 3 (10:04):
Guess we're gonna have to celebrate.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
Yet always would.

Speaker 6 (10:09):
He smoked pipes all the time, and whenever I walked
in the house, it'd be get him a pipe.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
Did they smelled good? Pipe smells good? A pipe was
pretty intriguing. It was Uncle Jan had one memory, you know,
for Larry the patch Man. We could all smoke black
and Miles for the big year.

Speaker 6 (10:25):
Into He's already up in texting me, Okay, this is the.

Speaker 4 (10:30):
Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
Also find that link at Rick Burgess show dot com
under sponsors and go and enjoy this most wonderful time
of the year. And you know, we all, you know,
just can say I think I will have a little
little goodie right now. I'm just not gonna go crazy.
And of course your wife, Terry's not helping.

Speaker 6 (10:53):
No, she's not, she's not. She loves to bake, she
loves to cook, and she's gifted with being able to
do that really well.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
Uh and but what she's making in there, what she's
making is not good.

Speaker 6 (11:06):
Well, the holiday we got, we got fudge, we got cookies, yeah,
chocolate chip cookies and oohy gooey butter bars. We go
and uh huh, I like, oh yeah, and uh and
so she sent us whenever I wake up and there's
a little sticky note and says, hey, this is for

(11:26):
the show.

Speaker 1 (11:26):
I'm like, oh boy.

Speaker 6 (11:28):
And she has some little containers that I brought in,
but she's making them. Oh yeah, she's just she's just
in there just to making stuff. And you know, I
look at my boys. They come through the house and
they can just eat all they want. You know, they're
not fifty seven, No, they're not.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
They're young, and oh yeah, I eat this. I want
to be able to tell, you know, but just can't.

Speaker 6 (11:50):
I know we're gonna eat bad, but I'm thinking boys.
So it's a week and a half out, like maybe
I need to slow it down just a little.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
Oh yeah, I'm trying to start now. We'll be able
to at the end of another year. I think I'm
gonna come on. I think I'm gonna try. I'm doing
this right now. I'm like gonna hurt feelings if you
don't eat it right. Yeah, so we eat well another
thing too, And I think I'm holding out to Christmas Eve.
Christmas Eve, you're holding out? I mean christ Well, I
know what's coming Christmas Eve. Greg. You realize how many

(12:19):
goodies we have on Christmas Eve? You think I can?
I got two words coffee punch about to say, you
think I can drink coffee punch and not and do
that like all the way up to Christmas? My goodness,
I weigh I weigh three hundred backs. Again, coffee punch
is good, but buddy, it's tall. It's total them calories.
Yeah yeah, I mean as you're drinking it, your your
foreheads tickling. Yeah, it's good though. Yeah. And they come

(12:40):
got Lisa's dad ambulance one time he drinks my other
I know, I know, true story. That's what he blamed.

Speaker 3 (12:50):
Right, is it warm?

Speaker 1 (12:56):
So all right, right now, let's say cream and ice cream,
lots of that. Let's do this right now, okay, right now.
For some reason, nobody can explain it. It was declared
with every person you are stuck with one homemade candy.
The rest of you, oh you only got one? Yeah?
And candy is it a different category than say cake? Yeah,
we're not talking about that, okay, I'm talking like like

(13:17):
if you look over at the candy table that we'll
have a guy. So I got a battle in my head.
Sweet to them. Yeah you sweets, you're looking for her.
Mama's homemade fudge is over there. It is Rick. I
can remember as a child. Oh, just smell her. She's
been there making us. But then you're just gonna leave
in peanut, This is when I was fixing say that
those two Rick is those two and I don't and

(13:38):
don't forget what's that people bring us called crack? You
know that what they call that something crack? Oh yeah, right,
it's not really cracked, it's not, but it's got like
cheerios in it, and you can't quit eating. I'll tell
you one thing. Back to Terry Wilburn. She's got a
little candy in there.

Speaker 6 (13:53):
It's made with looks like some kind of cereal and
oh it's like some checks h and it's got the
white powder on it.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
Oh right, don't they call that plot?

Speaker 6 (14:02):
I don't know, but I looked like a mess, like
I mean, I was. I mean, I had just stuff,
white stuff all over my but I did.

Speaker 1 (14:10):
I got off in it. I did.

Speaker 6 (14:14):
Like the bowl was empty, and I was like, cakes,
it's just all over me.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
You gotta watch out.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
That's here in mind. When you grab that fudge, that's
all you're gonna have. You're not gonna have chocol chip
cookies anymore. You're not gonna have the peanut clusters.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
You can't cookies and candy you go in the same.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
Oh sure, let me tell you what else I like.
And people bring it to the show a lot. It's
caramel or something, but it has like frosted flakes. In
it or just regular corn flakes in it. Yeah, it's
a little that's good cake. Yeah, it has some good game.
We like a lot. I can't.

Speaker 6 (14:47):
I can't pass fudge and not get one. The deal is,
I'm good until I start. If I start, all I
can think about is eating the next one. While I'm
eating the one I'm eating, looking at my next one
on a corner. And then you always say this, this
is it. Then you go over there and you leave,
and then you come back one more.

Speaker 3 (15:06):
Yeah, So what's a more powerful drug? Sugar or nicotine?
After one sect too, We've just been talking sugar.

Speaker 4 (15:15):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
So thet f y on that you can get that
at the bottom of the page at rickburgesshow dot com
or at Themanchurch dot com and and Grace with the
Rick Burgess Show store.

Speaker 6 (15:32):
She said, you know, this is a possibility that if
somebody ordered after the fifteenth, they could get it. But
I can't guarantee. So you mean you could, Yeah you can.
She's like, the fifteenth, we can kind of we can
guarantee how you'll get it by Christmas. You might just
be pushing it if you if you tried after.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
So We've talked about this, go for it. We've talked
about this as as friends and and on the show,
and it's a little something called it might be you. Uh,
you know, human beings struggle with coming to the conclusion, Hey,
it may be me. Uh TJ Finley, we were just
we were just discussing because now it's everybody's talking portal

(16:12):
and now it's portal time. Here, a portal, there, portal everywhere,
portal portal. Yeah, and chaos we have. I can't believe
TJ Finley. He must be forty six years he's the
only person trying to beat Uh Pavia's record on playing
the most Is it about seven or eight hisself? TJ Finley?
Is he older than Philip Rivers? I mean it's they

(16:32):
played together one So TJ Finley unlike Pavio, who's made
it count or Pavia? Is it Pavia? Yeah? Yeah, yeah,
he obviously I mean made it to the finals for
the Heisman. Yeah great. I mean he's a weirdo, but yeah,
pretty good ball player and just really showing himself now
now that he didn't he's now doesn't have anybody to
play for anymore.

Speaker 6 (16:53):
Greg.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
Let me tell you one thing about class act. Yeah,
but one thing is is classy but fun to watch,
not the classes in EJ.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
Finley's twenty three years old.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
All right, So TJ. Finley has just announced he's going
in the portal again for the seventh time.

Speaker 6 (17:07):
Yeah, it looks like seven. He's at Georgia State now.
He played for LSU, Auburn, Texas State, Western Kentucky, Georgia,
Georgia State, and he was at two lane, but he
actually never took a snap there because he was suspended
from the team, and then that's what ultimately got into Georgia.

Speaker 1 (17:26):
State, I believe.

Speaker 6 (17:27):
So he originally supposed to spend the twenty twenty five
season at two lane. However he entered the transfer portal
there when he was suspended from the program. That led
him to go to Georgia State. As I just mentioned,
So he has applied for the seventh year and it
was in season ending injury he sustained in the twenty
twenty four season. So he's applied for his seventh year

(17:50):
and entering the transfer port So.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
He's got a COVID year and an injury year.

Speaker 6 (17:55):
That's what I'm assuming.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
Let me thought, when are we going to go the
verdict is in, he's just not very good. He looks great,
standing does he's six six and one hundred yards? But
guess what as this list here will confirm he's not
very good. And it goes back to this, he's just
not very good. J I don't think all these schools
did you wrong. It may be you, Yes, I mean

(18:16):
this is that. This is that kid that gets in
trouble with every teacher and all the teachers are out
to get him. Yeah, you bad teacher his whole career. Right,
this is the I think it's you. It's the person
who's been divorced seven times and they can't quite come
to the conclusion maybe they're the problem, right, it's yeah. Yeah,
It's almost like coaches look at him and go, this
guy's look at him, Oh my goodness. Well no, then

(18:39):
he gets on the fielding. Maybe he has a future
as a I don't know how how lucrative is the
future of a model football uniforms? Yeah, because he looks
great in the football. Yeah, I mean he puts all
of these guy's got to be he puts on the uniform. There,
can you just be that person? Like every time a
team launches a new uniform.

Speaker 4 (18:56):
TJ.

Speaker 1 (18:56):
Finley wears it. Yeah, and he gets paid for that
bad job. So he could go even throw a few
balls in practice.

Speaker 6 (19:03):
Right, So this is so far, This is so so
Finley his this is his career. He began in twenty twenty.
He played for the LSU Tigers, fresh off the national
championship victory. He spent one season before he transferred to Auburn,
where he played two seasons. Then he transferred to Texas
State for the twenty twenty three season before ending up

(19:24):
at Western Kentucky. His most productive season was in twenty three,
and he had some impressive numbers there. But now he
could return to college football for the seventh season season,
seventh program overall, sixth he would actually take a snap
for because he never played for Tulane. He was supposed to,

(19:45):
but then he transferred. He said he's been the last
two years. He's worked through injuries. Fatherhood, so he's a daddy.
Is he married or just it doesn't say. It just
says I'm just asking. It says about that faces, balancing
new fatherhood in rees and adversity off the field.

Speaker 1 (20:01):
It's been a test.

Speaker 6 (20:03):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (20:04):
I still love the game and I want to continue.
So okay, well try and do that. Uh.

Speaker 6 (20:10):
Arch Manning has declared he will come back for next season.
Uh so Texas, that was up for.

Speaker 1 (20:16):
Discussion into one year. You know, everybody, you know how
we all do. The expectations on him were unreasonable. Yeah,
remember experience that he had and then he ended pretty
pretty well and he does. And plus frankly that with
his draft status right now, they say he didn't want
to take Bay cut. That's the truth. That's a fast fight.
So he's gonna stay in Texas because absolutely.

Speaker 6 (20:36):
Florida quarterback DJ Lagway he is entering the transfer portal.

Speaker 1 (20:40):
Apparently the meeting with the new head coach did not
go well. Uh and somebody told him the truth. Yeah,
I got to say that about that. I heard interview
the when you talking about Tulane where he is currently
until he finishes, and they were when they broke in
the top twenty five, and he said, well, if we're
a top twenty five team, that just didn't say a
lot for college football. Well he's one of the guys,
he's right, Yeah, he's rough on Yeah, yeah he is.

(21:03):
I mean, instead of bragging, he said, we're not a
top twenty five. Yeah, no way. Yeah, that's uh wow.
But this year, last year, Yeah, uh and probably probably
the coach. Sounds like, based on what you just said, Greg,
I think the coach may have told him, uh, here's
some things you need to work on if you're going
to play for me. And of course it sounds like
he pouted and said I'm leaving. Yeah, as that's failed

(21:23):
to it it does. I don't know that, it just sounds.

Speaker 6 (21:26):
It just feels like it feels a little pouty. Yeah, yeah,
it does say that the meeting did not go well.
He was called on a few things, Greg, Right, again probably.

Speaker 1 (21:35):
Now, I mean see, nowadays, not only can you throw
in your ability to play, you can go you're not
worth what we're paying, but you're going to need to
take a pay cut. Yep. That's a whole other element. Yep. Well,
you know it's it's one of those things now where
if you're trying to coach people and be honest with him,
you want to be encouraging, but you also want to
you want to challenge them. And now if you challenge

(21:58):
somebody too much and it hurts your little face as
they just leave. Yeah, I'm out.

Speaker 6 (22:02):
So two Lane's John who is their new head coach,
and you refer to you know, it's it's from Huntsville
and you know John Ett. My niece went to school
with him, which, yeah, with John Summrong and and then
he was you know, at Troy and at Tulane and
all that. But yeah, he's the guy they don't put

(22:23):
up with a lot.

Speaker 1 (22:23):
Now.

Speaker 6 (22:24):
No, he was called on work. You know, your work ethic.
You know, how much do you love the game?

Speaker 1 (22:29):
Yeah? I mean the results weren't great. I mean, I'm
saying that it all falls on him, but he was
hitting high expectations for him coming into this year. Yeah,
so of course the coach is gone. By the way,
I love the Phillip Rivers story. Back to that again.
They're showing in on TV two, which is our ESPN
TV in here. But every time I look up and

(22:51):
he's just sitting there talking. Never once would I think
that's the quarterback. And I know when he's sitting there talking,
I think that's one of the coaches. Yeah, you know,
I mean, I'm like, is this a new head coach
for Indianapolis? Oh yeah, yeah right, he doesn't he does
remotely like you should be. Yeah, I thought it was
pretty cool too.

Speaker 6 (23:07):
I know we talked about he was asked about his
weight and he said he didn't know, you know, and
all that. But I thought he had a really cool
statement for his team because his team had that watch
party that we talked about yesterday, and he asked him
and he was asked about you know, what you know
about coaching and all that, and he said that I
hope that my.

Speaker 1 (23:26):
Players can look at me and go, well, coach ain't scared,
you know.

Speaker 6 (23:28):
And he went into talking a little bit more about
you know, just persevering through things and I hope, I
hope that can be an example to the boys that
I coach and that are watching.

Speaker 1 (23:37):
But it was a pretty cool message. Yeah, it's it's
really inspiring for them, and it's a real downer for
people like my son who actually wanted wanted to go
to the super Bowl this year. Yeah. Yeah, they appreciate
all this courageous stuff going on, but they realized there's
seasons on. Yes, well, you called a granddad up to
play for you. The quote from my son was his

(23:59):
team may not be afraid, but I am every time
he takes us now, so so well, we'll be back.
Oh man. More of the show coming out. Stay with us.

Speaker 4 (24:13):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 7 (24:21):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (24:21):
As you know, we had some of these streaming services
come in and write big checks to the NFL to
get those Christmas Day games? Right? Is that when they
are at on Christmas Day and correct? And they paid
lots of money? Yes, I know, Netflix was in. Who else?

Speaker 5 (24:36):
Netflix and Amazon paid hundreds of millions of dollars for
these NFL Christmas Day games. You got Cowboys, Commanders, Lions,
Vikings and Broncos and Chiefs, and they're now all meaningless stinkers.

Speaker 1 (24:50):
Yes, it didn't matter.

Speaker 4 (24:53):
Ouch out.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
Doesn't exactly garner much of a TV audito.

Speaker 6 (24:58):
Yeah, they said Alice has a zero point zero six
percent chance because the Eagles they can't make wild card.
The Eagles would have to lose every game left and
the Cowboys would have to win every game left because
their only.

Speaker 1 (25:13):
Hope is to win that division. What about when they
paid for it and saw they had the Chiefs, They're like, oh,
that'll be a good one. Oh yeah, and now the
Chiefs are out and don't won't even have my homes?

Speaker 7 (25:22):
Right?

Speaker 1 (25:23):
Do you get is there any money back on that
or haven't got any? Yeah? Probably not, and I don't
think so. And I was talking to Adler too speaking
of Netflix and you know this whole streaming world, and
he just updated me it has not been approved yet.
But the eighty billion dollars they offered for Warner Brothers.
Eighty billion, yes, and of course it's b it's got

(25:46):
to be approved. Eighty billion, there's it.

Speaker 5 (25:49):
So Netflix wants to buy Warner Brothers, which would include
all of HBO so, HBO Max, everything that's on HBO,
Warner Brothers studio. So you've got all of those, the Batman,
all of that content, all the Superman world that and
then so yeah, and like I said, HBO Max, so

(26:10):
eighty two billion. But Paramount's like, hey, wait a second,
we wanted a piece of that pie. We'll pay even more.
So literally, Paramount came back with a competing higher bid.
Oh really, And so there's a lot of regulatory scrutiny,
a lot of people in Hollywood mad. They say, wait
a second, if Netflix buys all of these things, then
we won't have these tent pole movies that come into

(26:33):
the theaters to almost prop up the movie industry.

Speaker 3 (26:36):
With your Batman's and Superman's and all that.

Speaker 1 (26:38):
Yeah, my son who's in that world. He didn't like
it at all. He was upset. He was like, I
don't want Netflix buying Warner Brothers. And I was kind
of like, of course, you know, we were just eating
something and getting all I could think about was hunting,
and I said, what do you think about that so much?
And he was like, just what Adler said? He said,
I don't want a streaming service to take over that
big a bite of you know, a big blockbuster movie world.

(27:01):
And I said, well that Netflix has some movies that
they that they produce and put in the theater. He goes, yeah,
but they don't leave them there very long. And he
said that that's all trying to get to the stream.
He said, I don't want every movie to be going
to streaming and I was like, oh, okay.

Speaker 5 (27:14):
As as far as the I P the Internet intellectual property,
all your trademarks, all your franchises, uh. That would include
the entire d C universe, so Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, uh,
Suicide Squad all that, also the all of Harry Potter,
that whole world, all of God know, Godzilla and King Kong,

(27:36):
all of Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit the Matrix.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
Wo Legos are some pretty big all of Looney Tunes,
a lot of yeah so, a lot of names and
brands and and yeah, characters, a lot a lot there.

Speaker 1 (27:55):
So, speaking of Looney Tunes, you know, they've even tried
to go back and claim that some of those cartoons
that we loved are now could considered not to be
politically correct. And this has Looney Tunes. I haven't watched
anything that's new they put out. I'm not in that
world anymore. I know they continue to use some of

(28:16):
those characters and have new cartoons. Are those? Are they
bland that they get away from all that? I mean
it's like bugs Bunny is still a smart alec I
mean what.

Speaker 6 (28:25):
Right?

Speaker 1 (28:25):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (28:26):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (28:26):
So is Tom and Jerry Looney Tunes?

Speaker 5 (28:29):
Is that? Or is that?

Speaker 3 (28:30):
No, that's Hannah and Barbara.

Speaker 6 (28:32):
Okay, I will say that, uh River, we went into
Tom and Jerry and he laughed pretty already had not
seen it.

Speaker 1 (28:39):
I'm like, buddy, these are classic war it is.

Speaker 5 (28:43):
Yeah, yeah so they so that would also be all
the Hannah Barbara whatever, so that all that.

Speaker 1 (28:49):
Yeah, we watched the very Tom and Jerry.

Speaker 6 (28:52):
It got a little bit very better, but we watched
the very first episode of Tom and.

Speaker 1 (28:58):
Joe really and and didn't look like him. Yeah, yes,
good night.

Speaker 3 (29:04):
You watched the very first Simpsons like this looks like
a child, Drew.

Speaker 1 (29:07):
Yes, we were watching. We just thought it was the
best thing ever. Yes, amazing, And Maren stated with us
the original Frosty Snowman cartoons all that one though that
hadn't been redone yet. Original. I didn't realize when it
comes at the end of the credits, this was nineteen
fifty one, nineteen fifty one. I may looked at it wrong,
but I think so is that the one that has

(29:28):
the magician and all that? Yeah, and get the hat? Yeah,
and he puts it. He puts frost birthday. Oh yeah,
you know, like that.

Speaker 3 (29:38):
The original Frosty.

Speaker 5 (29:40):
This says, well, Greg, this this original Frost He says,
nineteen sixty nine.

Speaker 1 (29:45):
There there's a more clearer version that this, Like it
was redone. I think it's that, Oh you're talking about
way back, So sixty nine was even an upgrade. I
think it's the same story and the same thing. But
because I saw it too, so Jim Jimmy Duranty, Yeah,
he's he was in Yeah, yeah, Frost no man. Yeah, yeah, gotcha. Yeah, anyway,

(30:07):
it was really old. Hey when he melts in that greenhouse, yeah,
damn rough.

Speaker 3 (30:13):
It's just it's just sitting on the ground.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
Yeah. I know that girl had a cold and they
had to get down of the north povid. Oh gracious,
that melted. Yeah. And I'm trying to remember. There's something.
There's something that's like interesting about who voiced Frosty And
I can't remember. Somebody looks who voiced in the riginal,

(30:36):
not not any one of the new ones, but at Lancaster. No,
I remember. That's a great guess, by the way, but
it's so but but not it. But now it's Jimmy. No.
Jackie's the guy that's narrating it.

Speaker 6 (30:49):
Yeah, yeah, and singing it, says Jackie Vernon, the voice
actor behind the nineteen sixty nine holiday classic Frosty the Snowman.

Speaker 1 (30:58):
Okay, there there was something. I don't know if he
was who he went on to be. He was somebody
else was to the Tiger or something. I can't remember.
I just remember it was. It was weird, the other
stuff that he went on.

Speaker 6 (31:10):
Jimmy Durrant, Billy, Jimmy Duranty d I'm sorry. Yeah, Billy
de Wolf, Paul Freeze, I don't know any of those,
but Greg Thomas, Yeah, it was it. Burl Ves No,
he was the snow man in Rudolph. John Good which

(31:32):
is another class.

Speaker 1 (31:33):
Yeah, well that was the late one. John goodwe did.
Goodman was from the later ones. Yeah, but I don't
like when they upgrade them. I want to stay right
where it is. I mean, as bad as Rudolph the Rainbow.
I watched Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer is inclamation. I
want to stay right bad at times, but let's watch it. Yeah,
how about you, it's very how about it if you
weren't scared of the snowman?

Speaker 6 (31:56):
Yeah, how about they said Rudolph, the Rudolph series and
everything it started in nineteen thirty nine, that story nineteen
thirty nine.

Speaker 1 (32:07):
Now, the only thing that spooked me about Rudolph was
not the Abominable the Island of the Misfit Toys. Yeah,
that was where that came. Flew that line that flew us.
You can't stay here. It must spend the night, but
you must.

Speaker 4 (32:19):
Leaves the weak by just show.

Speaker 1 (32:29):
All right, So right out of the gate, let me
give you the word that you need to text today,
Text Nation, Are you ready? Our text line stays the same,
It has not changed at all. Eight eight eight six

drawn from the thousands who texted, directly we'll get one hundred.

know five hundred and ninety nine dollars and maybe a little.
More we keep looking at different things every. DAY uh is,

(33:14):
AVAILABLE uh for for for, people but it's not. Guaranteed

to make it. Happen so here's the, word, Ready Text.
Nation you're ready bucks b u c k. S don't
forget THE. S AND i know some of you smart
elects on Text. Nation When i'll start texting it without THE.
S oh look i'm being. Za i'm texting weird. Words

(33:37):
i'm saying he bucks B u c k. S that
is the correct text word. Today you got a few,
bucks you got a few, bugs hey and. Bugs so
so there speaking of, that AND i saw this, yesterday
what what is do you do you when you see

(33:58):
the classic WHAT i call intersection. People you, know they
they set themselves up near red. Lights, uh and they're
gonna have a sign that has, something and they're they're
hoping that you'll give them just some. Money, EVER i
won't even talk to. You it's so the do you?
Ever is there ever a prompt that you're, LIKE i

(34:21):
Think i'm gonna give this person little. Something the intersection
people now not talking about like people you. Encountered, yeah
they got kids them, really so if they if if
If i'm bulleting, out, yeah, right so IF i have
my kids with, Me i'm gonna get something from. You.
Yeah and if you got a dog when you, oh
really see IF i see the animals, straight if you
got an animal out there and it looks like it's not,
yeah IF i see them with the, DOG i rolled

(34:44):
my window down and asked them for. Change SO i
mean it's BECAUSE i, figure if you can afford the,
dog then you're not that. Desperate when we used to
entirely lived in that line and we'dn't have to go
through that business back ramp. Here they, Come oh, yeah,
yeah well you remember we went over for The Man
church conference last. Year that person that had that wheelchair
and a very dangerous. Place, yeah, listen sitting where the lanes.

(35:08):
Merged you shouldn't have a wheelchair person and that merged. Triangle,
no that's. Dangerous and they got them out In. Atlanta you're,
right but that when you stop, here they, come, YEAH
i don't.

Speaker 5 (35:22):
KNOW i just there's JUST i never feel good about
who they are and what they're doing and what their
motives are and all. That AND i see people sometimes
there's this one INTERSECTION i always, pass and it's.

Speaker 3 (35:34):
Like they're working in. Shifts did you come? FROM i
see one person leaving and then like the new person
is sitting.

Speaker 1 (35:42):
There i'm, like, yeah got at got in a little.

Speaker 3 (35:44):
System y'all have AN hr, Department like what is what is?
This who's staffing this? Intersection?

Speaker 6 (35:50):
Oh you go to another, exit you see the same
guy you saw earlier in the day at the new
exit later in the, day.

Speaker 4 (35:55):
And you're, like did you get?

Speaker 1 (35:56):
That that's only you give for the right race about
were you talking abou? Food that's. True that's, true that is. Right,
uh THE i talked to somebody yesterday that told me
that they were trying to park at some. Event and
then you, know you never know who's real parking who's.
Not and he thought this person was like standing there
like they were the person in charge of the. Parking

(36:17):
and he goes AND i noticed the. Shoes he, said
the shoes didn't. Work he, said everything else is the
luck they pulled. Off BUT i looked at those shoes
And i'm, LIKE i don't know that you're really the.
Person and so they were, right and he said then
all of a, sudden he started walking, me And i'm, like,
Okay i'm about to get. Rolled okay he, said he,
SAID i actually go like a couple of blocks and he, goes,
yeah to park, here all you need to do is

(36:38):
is put twenty dollars on my McDonald's, account like that
on my what he had, Account like you like you
can have a you know where you like money for
the idiot. McDonald's and he was, like you're not really
the parking, guy are. You and of course it turned
out that he wasn't, right but but you put it
on my mad by the way he's slipping in there
acting like you're the person taking it money for. Parking

(37:00):
that's pretty. Good pretty. Good and how about the fact
you're just trying to build up some an account that
McDonald so you can. Eat that's pretty. GOOD i want
to know what is it hurt the panhandling. Business now
that most people have, cards they don't have a lot
of cash most, people but the panhandlers make it his, wife,
right the little. Cube, yeah BECAUSE i saw yesterday in
that intersection you're talking About, adler AND i noticed that

(37:23):
one gals AND i saw money coming, out AND i thought,
INTERESTING i wonder what prompted him to. Say, LOOK i
think it was about what you're. SAYING i give for
the right. Reason if you're if you if you're using
this to continue to kill, yourself and that ain't that's
not really on. Me i'm giving for the right. Reason
how do you when you walk by the red kettle
they're actually ringing a? Belle how do you keep looking
at the? Bail it's, tough.

Speaker 6 (37:45):
Especially if you've already donated and like you're coming back
for some. REASON i have to announce.

Speaker 1 (37:50):
HIM i got you on the way in you or
the girls. Gouy, yeah or fake a phone call that,
works that always. Works but because he got me the
other the guy with the. Bail, yeah, YEAH i got
hit on the food bank like that one. Time And
i'd forgotten something AND i came back through just to
pick up one item i'd forgotten from the grocery, store

(38:11):
all right, there and they hit me. AGAIN i, SAID
i just gave the food bank straight, up asked her over,
there say this is here, now you, know NOW i already.
GAVE i don't want to on my.

Speaker 3 (38:21):
OWN i have my own ways of doing.

Speaker 1 (38:23):
It, YEAH i have the ones that not really But
i'm very, giving very, generous ask. Anyone.

Speaker 6 (38:30):
Yes SO i don't, wanted you, know like them to
be cussing me out in their.

Speaker 1 (38:34):
Mind yeah you, Know i'm. Sorry i'm already looking at
at the. Bail you're going to look over. Here i'm
ringing the. Bell.

Speaker 3 (38:42):
Yeah one TIME i lost my mind at at the grocery.

Speaker 1 (38:45):
STORE i can't believe, that not that, way not in that.

Speaker 3 (38:51):
Way the lady seventy. BUCKS i gave the lady Seventy she,
goes will you help me me my? Goal AND i was, like,
well how much do you have to, go you go seventy.
BUCKS i was, like and she.

Speaker 5 (39:05):
HAD i had just heard her say that her son
had just passed. Away to the person in front of.
Me this is like a legitimate grocery store where you,
know how you add it.

Speaker 1 (39:12):
To your, grass as opposed to, ILLEGITIMATE i.

Speaker 3 (39:15):
Mean not like on the side of the. Road AND
i was just like. Wow and with that, KNOWLEDGE i was, Like,
okay but NOW i. DON'T i have never done that.
Again AND i want them to know about that one
time THAT i did.

Speaker 7 (39:26):
THAT i have.

Speaker 1 (39:28):
To i'm the seventy dollars.

Speaker 3 (39:29):
Guy REMEMBER i.

Speaker 1 (39:32):
Gave enough for a long.

Speaker 3 (39:33):
Time, yeah all?

Speaker 1 (39:34):
Year, yeah and and and we you, know you want
to be as wise as you can. Be and AND
i think you, know one of those situations usually is
and most people know to do. This that was one
obviously adler. That but when you're dealing with WHAT i
call the potential flim, flam if you can ever do
the CAN i just go get you some? Food or

(39:55):
CAN i just put gas in your? Tank and if
they turn you down on, that it's usually, YEAH i
did the gas in the tank the other. Way, YEAH i, said,
HEY i NEED i, said pull Up i'll fill it. Up,
yeah and if they, won't he, did but.

Speaker 3 (40:08):
Help how much gas did he? Need?

Speaker 1 (40:12):
Yeah about thirty. Something, Yeah AND i ACTUALLY i actually
had somebody take me up on the only because we
were in a place right in front of a couple
of restaurants and the person just, said, Hey i'm. HUNGRY i, said,
okay well let's go in here and let's get you
something into their. Credit they went in and stood in,
line AND i, said to order whatever you want and
and they sat. Down and as they were sitting down
with the, FOOD i, said you, Know god bless you

(40:33):
and you, know and left so so THAT i don't,
mind you, know that kind of stuff you. GOT i
saw this actually take place right And i'm providing something
that just throwing cash at people standing standing at, intersections
and like you, said AT i always picture like there's
some boss man. Somewhere, yeah that that sends them out
and go out. There, yeah and then he comes back
and takes his cuts and then lets them have the

(40:54):
drugs they, won't you, know it feels. Odd, yeah we'll
be right back to stay on.

Speaker 4 (40:59):
Us this is The Rick Burgess.

Speaker 1 (41:03):
Show you, know a bit of A debbie, downer but
we do need to update. These the information continues to
come out on the horrible murder Of Rob reiner and his.
Wife the timeline is showing now an argument with their

(41:23):
son and that before this, happened and you, know everybody
is JUST i, mean it's just such a, horrible horrible.
Story you know that the son had some. Issues they
were very open about, that and LIKE i, say even
did a movie that was based off the struggle that
he went, through did that. Together and so the people

(41:48):
who are like close to them said that the son
had begun to behave strangely again at actually At conan
O'Brien's christmas, party said he was freaking, out everyone, out acting,
crazy kept asking people if they were. Famous said That
Rob ryner and his son got into a very loud.

(42:09):
Argument uh and and and he and his wife left the. Party.
Uh then so that m m. Mmmm they have arrested
him now he is being. Held Uh and they booked
him around five of a m yesterday, Morning so it'll

(42:30):
be a rain. Today, Yeah so we'll we'll follow that.
Story but it just sounds so so so, Bad, Harbor.
Harborough so it looks, like you, know at least they
have a pretty good idea of who did this and
uh it just sounds. Bad. Uh on The Brown university,
shooting they they they still do not have the.

Speaker 4 (42:53):
Shooter.

Speaker 1 (42:54):
Uh the shooter is still at.

Speaker 3 (42:55):
Large.

Speaker 1 (42:56):
Uh some of the stories now coming out the Two
Brown university shooting victims have been id'd as college college
republican leader and aspiring. Neurosurgeon uh so that's that Was
Ella cook Of birmingham And MOHAMMED i can't pronounce the
whole last, name so forgive me for that Of. Virginia

(43:19):
those were the two that were. Killed. Uh and so
now that's we're not saying that that's the reason they were,
targeting that this one was targeted or the. Other but
but we'll. See but the bad news is, then, yeah
the bad news is the killer is uh is on
on the. Lamb they do not have. Them. Uh they

(43:42):
said The Brown university offered a soft target to the
killer who opened fire during the weekend study. Session said
it was you, know there was doors that were, open
there was no. Security this is according To John, kelly
a criminal profiler and president Of stalk And. Operated the
killer was familiar with the area and rage probably at

(44:04):
the college or engineering program organized dress for the, occasion
was very comfortable with the semi automatic weapon that they,
used but saying that the school was not secure and
of course you're not allowed to have. Guns nobody was
going to shoot. Back nobody was going to shoot, back
so it was a soft. Target it's weird how they

(44:25):
the hall there didn't have any security. Footage it's just just.
Weird you see who they think did. It they do
have something of him walking down the, sidewalk.

Speaker 6 (44:34):
As they, do and he seems pretty. Relaxed and some
of the, experts And i'm not, one they they're talking
about how how he's walking with his hands behind his,
back and they were talking about what what part of
the world that's prominent in and who you, know it's
not Very american. Like Now i'm not saying he's not.

(44:54):
ONE i have no, idea but he just seems pretty.
Relaxed he's got a face mask on like you did
WHEN covid, hit you, know and so he's kind of covered.
Up but hopefully somebody will come.

Speaker 1 (45:06):
Forward and did.

Speaker 5 (45:07):
Y'all see that the home church Of Ella cook here In, Birmingham,
YEAH i did see that is also the home church
of one of The Mountain brook girls that passed.

Speaker 3 (45:19):
Away in That texas.

Speaker 1 (45:20):
Flood, YEAH i, did which is so odd of a.

Speaker 3 (45:23):
Coincidence so sad for that.

Speaker 1 (45:24):
Church yeah, Community, yeah really that that congregation has been
through a. Lot so and and those, families so remember
all of the both these families in your. Prayers and
then The Bondie beat. Shooting uh they said these suspects
also now we know had BOMBS isis flags and had
recently traveled to The. Philippines so so there there you go,

(45:49):
again the father son combo so that that did their.
Shooting Uh, so so they're saying that it was Against Jewish.
Australians they were hunted down in broad. Daylight fifteen people were,
killed two dozen injured in the shooting and they are
now describing it as AN issis inspired terrorist. Attack so

(46:15):
there you.

Speaker 5 (46:15):
Go and the hero that we mentioned yesterday on the
show that tackled the. Gunmen they found some dash cam
footage that also showed that an older couple they tried
to stop the terrorists right as they were exiting their
car as. Well it showed on some dash cam footage
that older couple and they were killed in that. Process

(46:39):
there were a Few australians that tried to jump in
and be heroes and, horrible.

Speaker 1 (46:45):
Unbelievable, AGAIN i don't want to jump on board of
things that you just see that are being put out
on social media and videos and people circling. Things So
i'm Gonna i'm gonna preface this by, saying by what's
being trade AND i cannot confirm that it really does
not look good on some of the law enforcement that

(47:09):
didn't seem to be as bold and courageous as the
citizens were, being And i'll just leave it at. That
it's about the one hold on to the police. Cruiser,
well they they showed a couple that instead of you, know,
engaging they were they were, fleeing.

Speaker 3 (47:24):
And it was we need to get rid of all
stand down orders in these types of.

Speaker 5 (47:29):
Situations Like i'm, sorry but that's just we need people
with guns running towards the bad people with.

Speaker 3 (47:34):
Guns we need.

Speaker 1 (47:36):
That yeah, yeah so uh so so, anyway we'll we'll
continue to update, those but that's kind of uh in,
general your update on all three of. THEM i hate
that we have three to report it on three horrible.
Incidents they're not all completely, related but they're all, really
really bad, so you, know because one of them is

(47:56):
obviously a family who's who had a real issue with
a son who apparently had some, major, major major issues
and that ended in that. One the other, two now
that's a little, more you, know trying to find the
motivation on those. Two one of them In australia they
think they have the, motivation the one That brown's still. Speculating,

(48:17):
yeah so so we'll. See but there's there's there's your,
update and you, know hate to have to give those,
updates but those are three prominent. Stories right, now we'll come.
Back we have much more to cover and much lighter
things to, discuss including your unscreen phone, calls which will
be coming. Today that's always. Interesting we also have more

(48:39):
stories to to cover involving what's going on here with
the show as we get ready to wind down year number.
One Stake, Claus we'll be right.

Speaker 4 (48:46):
Back this is The Rick Burgess, show.

Speaker 1 (48:56):
Listening to its uh, so Yesterday Jared bethune got one
hundred and fifty bucks and three. Questions he got the
first one right and he, SAID, Whoa i'm gonna stay right. There,
okay just watch. This look at my rump AS i
leave and our Text Nation winner yesterday Hunter. Forrester, yeah

(49:17):
and he's, it he's out, Right so there he. Is so,
congratulations we've already given the word for. Today we are
given the word for. Today uh and if you if
you missed, it if you missed, IT i will tell
you where not to get. It don't get it out
of the chat room On Tube. City they'll mess with.
You but you, know ask a, friend you can trust

(49:40):
a couple of things that we, uh that we need
to talk about. Too and again this is not not overly. Upbeat,
again but it's still. Perplexing what are you? Doing? Well
this this Dollar general's, story this tree, story oh, man Dollar,
general this dollar. Tree let's clear, dollars a dollar tree' dollar,

(50:01):
tree let's clear. Dollars let's do not associate Dollar general with. This,
okay it's the competitor dollar. Tree, yeah WHICH i don't
know the, difference but it seems that Dollar general has
more stuff than dollar. Tree. Yeah, yeah it dollar trees
where everything costs a. Dollar probably that Dollar general is not. That, No,

(50:22):
no why is the word dollar in? There just? Cheap
let me hold a dollar. Huh so dollar tree.

Speaker 7 (50:31):
Is this?

Speaker 1 (50:31):
One Which i'm not as familiar. With we have a
dollar tree near my. Home everything's a DOLLAR i think
IT'S i think with, inflation may a dollar. Thirty but
it seems that Dollar general is. Dominating, oh Dollar general? Everywhere, yeah.
Everywhere and is there something called dollar store or is
it just Dollar general and dollar tree? Something, yeah there's
a family family. Dollar they may hold A, yeah they

(50:55):
will combo family dollar with dollar store in the same
bill dollar, Store Dollar, general dollar. Store so there is
a dollar. Store, yes there's a dollar, tree a dollar.
Store time. Out maybe it's dollar tree and fast.

Speaker 6 (51:10):
Family, dollars dollar tree and general.

Speaker 1 (51:12):
Dollars so dollar Dollar, general dollar tree and family dollar comb.
Combo is there anything called general?

Speaker 6 (51:20):
Dollar it's Dollar, general but here it says general, dollar
WHICH i obviously got it.

Speaker 1 (51:27):
Wrong maybe that's the. Difference, okay So rick's.

Speaker 5 (51:30):
Got dollar tree stuck to one dollar, items but now
that is mostly dollar twenty five and some some items
go up to ten, Dollars.

Speaker 6 (51:37):
Dollar, tree, dollars.

Speaker 1 (51:42):
The dollar. Tree THERE'S i know two locations where the. Combo, Okay,
greg we got. It then here we Got. General here
we go THIS. Dg you Got Dollar, general then you
got D G. Market. Yeah dr market's. Got that's that's.
Roast that's what that's showing now a little. Bit, well
that's for those who got. Money, yeah that's What i'm, saying,
Right so nice in. There and of Course i'm starting
a new chain called Let Me hold A. Dollar all,

(52:05):
Right so anyway back to what's but the story.

Speaker 3 (52:07):
Is, horrible horrible, story, horrible.

Speaker 1 (52:10):
No matter what it's. Called there was a there's a
female doctor that went mysteriously, missing and they they the
last thing they saw her do is go in A
Dollar tree and they found her in the. Freezer Dollar
tree got a. FREEZER i didn't Know Dollar tree store
had one In miami's W i'm thinking It's Dollar general And,
anyboddy it Says Dollar, Tree, Miami. Florida inside the walk in.

(52:35):
Freezer Uh and and when they discovered, her, uh she
the body had no clothing on. It, okay come in,
freezer nicked all?

Speaker 6 (52:45):
Right so you know you know how they have you
know how they have the freezer area behind where you,
know when you open and close the door like in that,
yeah back in like the store's stock, room but it's
still cold back in.

Speaker 1 (52:56):
There that's where she was. Naked, yeah you want more clothes.
ON i don't think they're suggesting that she sounds like foul.
Play so somebody attacked her in the dollar was in
the cooler of the. Store that's just there's a lot
of questions they'd answered, here they, said looking at the,
footage they, said surveillance footage indicates no foul play that

(53:19):
they can. Find that's What i'm. Saying it's like she
went in there and got nicked and just.

Speaker 6 (53:26):
She was an anthesiologist specializing and, uh heart.

Speaker 1 (53:31):
Disease that's that's just. Odd JOALL i know that IS
i Don't this is one of those mysterious things you
just kind of she's originally it looks like her family
is how do you end up from a? Niked do
you get so many in? THERE i mean, guys CAUSE

(53:53):
i MEAN i guess NOTHING i guess is obvious as
cause of. Death they, just, well we'ren'll have to figure
out actually what that. Is here's where you come into.
Investigate you're, like you came in to the dollar. Tree
at what point what happened that the end result is
passed away in the freezer? NAKED i, mean, boy there's

(54:15):
that that missing piece of information is. Crucial it is. Right,
okay the family dollar some of the weird things that.

Speaker 5 (54:25):
Happened when you are going under, hypothermia you can actually
think that you.

Speaker 1 (54:30):
Are, Okay, well was she locked in? There she somehow
went in there and got accidentally.

Speaker 5 (54:35):
Maybe accidentally, locked maybe out of her, mind and your
accidentally walked. In but then she's in, there and she's,
confused and then the hypothermia kicks.

Speaker 3 (54:43):
In she thinks she's.

Speaker 6 (54:44):
Hot, heard she's just trying to find somebody to help.
Her you can't ever find anybody in there to help. Her,
okay there going, Hello, yeah.

Speaker 3 (54:53):
Where's the?

Speaker 1 (54:54):
Milk? Yeah but would you walk into the freezer you're
trying to check out up? Here? Yeah now YOU i
can see my going in there for the, Bathroom, JOE i,
KNOW i just hate places to have keys the. Bathroom
keys to the bathrooms one of the worst things. Ever,
YEAH i refuse to use. It, right this is. Emergency,
YEAH i. Know, well and you got to walk around
your situation you were. In, yeah now you get a.

(55:15):
Key Oh i'm running in, Place, yeah Like i'm a. Child,
YEAH i can't get got time for a, Key SO
i Back tobody, Died so back to. This, yeah SO
i think what we're going to discover at. IT i
think we're going to get down to THE i don't
have any clothing. ON i think we're going to get
down to what you're talking. About likely the big mystery
is what is she doing in the? Freezer did she

(55:36):
walk in? There like y'all, saying can't find nobody to,
help think they might be in the? Freezer freezer closed
freezer closes on. Her but when they said that, though
if she was closed up, in well MAYBE i don't.
KNOW i don't. Know that's. Meaning it's a strange. One,
boy it's the employee that found her. Too it's just
you walk in the walking. Freezer. YEAH i know that's tough. Now.

(55:57):
Yeah so so, anyway that's, uh how would you be
in the? FREEZER a dollar? General? Dollar you cannot dollar
Dollar general into. This they don't have anything that was
in my. Mind can't picture of the dollar tree with a.
FREEZER i agree with you on.

Speaker 6 (56:14):
That i'm not, saying BUT i have a feeling that
you could probably scream maybe and holler somebody would.

Speaker 1 (56:20):
Come why would you be in?

Speaker 3 (56:21):
There she didn't buy.

Speaker 5 (56:25):
Anything she went to the freezer in the back stores,
room and then she was found the next.

Speaker 1 (56:30):
Morning, wow how About i'm with. Y'all The Dollar trees
That i've been, IN i can't picture it having a.
Freezer maybe they have a different version of it, maybe
but not at The Dollar tree. Apparently so make it
so around, here if you go into dollars she, was
you got to buy like some little stickers and stuff
that's really cheap and it's not.

Speaker 6 (56:51):
GOOD i didn't know this was his. Area and you
think it's. Sharp oh, yeah you opened this dollar the?
World bring up d in a, SECOND i got let
me tell you.

Speaker 3 (57:00):
It says investigators have ruled out foul.

Speaker 1 (57:03):
Play she just went in there and laid down.

Speaker 3 (57:05):
Naked not they don't suspect foul. Play they've ruled it.

Speaker 1 (57:09):
Out, okay just thought they said that surveillance camera doesn't
know they're going as far as saying we we've completed the.
Investigation you think they're the right, Store, GRAY i don't.
Know i'm, confused BUT i just can't see The Dollar
tree with a. Freezer they have.

Speaker 6 (57:27):
Them that's where they found their.

Speaker 4 (57:30):
Trees is The Rick burgess?

Speaker 1 (57:32):
Show uh so we start, okay, guys text, nation we got.
It everybody all over the country letting us know where
they're their dollar tree has a. Freezer, thanks so we got, like, what,
uh meat for sale for a? DOLLAR i don't think. So,
no you're. Right that's Where adler said some of the

(57:53):
steps up to ten. Dollars. Now, yeah and by the, Way,
greg you are to be ashamed of the dollar tree
in Linlock over In calhoun Count he is a, freezer doesn't,
really that's what this texture. Saying you, know if the
texture say, It i'm all in so many states are
saying to, me the tree you got like envelopes and
old generic cards and, stickers and you mean it don't last?
Long you mean? Envelopes yeah that you, say you say?

(58:16):
Envelope Envelop is that what you? SAY i guess, so?
HUH i. DON'T i don't have to use that a
lot and. Envelope.

Speaker 6 (58:22):
Yeah, whatever he's gonna have to walk in a dollar
tree and see the Free i'm gonna have to because
because all these, texts of all these, nothing.

Speaker 1 (58:32):
Theirs has got. It when this refrigerated sausage for a
dollar got ice cream in, it they Got Jimmy, dean
that is this be something recent rid By steaks for
a Dollar i'm just. Kidding so there you. Go oh
My well, says y'all know so much why the naked
lady lay in? It then figure that, Out, Okay, GREG
i don't, know you'll know. Everything, WELL i don't. Know

(58:54):
you know how they got them, right the nked woman and,
yeah we got bigger figure the bigger. Point it is
no doubt about The Miami, detectives no doubt about, that
no matter what dollar it, was, You Greg well, Said,
uh speaking of. Restaurants, uh the headline is McDonald's ceo
delivers blunt career advice that may hurt your. Feelings, well

(59:18):
god forbid that anybody's feelings get, hurt, uh especially if
you're going to tell them the. TRUTH a little tough
love from McDonald's, ceo uhs to McDonald's. Ceo right, THERE
i guess, so and and this is the go against. Him, No,
youngnu he, does he, Does, Greg i'll give you. That
he must be of them. Overachievers look looks looks a little,

(59:41):
bit just a just a hair like the assistant on
the on Thirty. Rock but, anyway so but here we
Go instagram video to all those out, there uh who
are waiting uh for their career to move.

Speaker 8 (59:59):
Forward so here here We the ADVICE i would give, is,
remember nobody cares about your career as much as you.
Do so this idea that there's somebody out there who's
looking out for, you who's going to make sure that
you get that, opportunity who put you in the right,
thing great if it. Happens but at the end of the,
day nobody cares more about your career than you.

Speaker 1 (01:00:17):
Do so you've got to own. It you've got to
make things happen for. Yourself that's that's hurt somebody's, feelings
surely not what that, well it does fly in the
face of, equity Doesn't in that were, true you know
THAT i just should be given WHAT i. Want the
only THING i was offended by is that top. Button
HE i saw. THAT i couldn't believe it to. You

(01:00:38):
this mad me. UNCOMFORTABLE i was kind of surprised his
ears got to. Pass, yeah the. Bordline but but, Anyway,
YEAH i guess you, know because this thing that i'm
you were really not owed. Anything M and just because
someone else has been, successful AND i have no idea
how they became, SUCCESSFUL i don't assume it was just
given to, Them so somebody should give it to. Me

(01:01:01):
if you're doing, WELL i should do. Well well do
you know how we ended up doing well and what it. Took,
NO i just want WHAT i want to, have the
exact same life you. Have, yeah, okay well don't really
work that. Way, yeah, well it's it goes back to
what you probably always told your. KIDS i KNOW i told.
Mine and it's.

Speaker 6 (01:01:16):
Simple but it's nobody cares more about you than. YOU i,
mean they can trade as much as they, try nobody
cares more about you than. You so, so so handle
your business.

Speaker 1 (01:01:25):
Well we tell people like own it and that asked
about advice and the business we're, in and you, know
we found this out in a very harsh. Way and another. Validation,
uh you better market yourself and you better be willing
to to. Else don't don't wait around on other people
to to tell people about what you. Do you better

(01:01:46):
tell them you know it so and uh and and
be able to do you, know do just whatever it. Takes.
Uh you got to, come you got to come, here
ready to go and and so, yeah So i'm glad
to hear. THAT i don't it Wasn't it's like everything.
Else you. Hear now you hear something that at one
time in our lives was so. ELEMENTARY i, mean what

(01:02:08):
this guy just. Said that's not some, deep profound, comment
but it's actually become where things like this are presented
as deep and profound and even confrontational or, provocative because
it's not common. ANYMORE i, mean there are some people
that just heard that. One well how about? That oh,
wow that's some. Wisdom you mean THAT i shouldn't sit

(01:02:30):
around waiting on somebody else to make my career happen for.
ME i already be out there getting after it because
no one cares about WHAT i want to do more
THAN i. Do that's that's pretty, elementary but, sadly probably
being heard by some for the first, time especially when
we come in and rescue everybody all the, time and

(01:02:51):
so let me make it happen for.

Speaker 6 (01:02:52):
You, well we're all blessed to have the upbringing we,
had and there's a lot of people out there that
don't have, that and they've never heard, that, right, sadly
so like you're, saying maybe it touched. Someone, okay so so,
speedy you think it's common, sense but you never know You, No,
no we.

Speaker 1 (01:03:09):
Remember we said this thousand. Times we have to we
have to drop the word common from common. Sense, yeah
it's uncommon. Sense. Yeah So speedy was just talking in granddad,
world because Now greg And speedy are granddad's and so
they now get to look at the generation of children
and speaking of something being, elementary you thought something was your. Standard,

(01:03:30):
yeah what? Happened it's just kind of gone. Away.

Speaker 6 (01:03:33):
Change And i'm talking about you know coins you, know
it's you don't see as much of, that you, Know
and then you got the Whole penny Drama ronald McDonald
And i'll, say you, know folding. Money you don't care
a lot of that. Anymore you saw debit card.

Speaker 1 (01:03:50):
Or, this that and. THAT i never. Carry.

Speaker 6 (01:03:52):
Yeah, well we went out to eat as a, family
And i'm talking about it was it was a slew of.
Us we had this big old long table Of wilburn's
and we're all, there we're, eating And, river our five
year old, grandson he just he just wasn't. Eating AND
i think it's because we got uncles, there we got,
excitement we got other things going.

Speaker 1 (01:04:09):
On i'm not helping at.

Speaker 6 (01:04:10):
All and, uh And tyler's, like, Hey river eat, man
and uh AND i whispered over to, him And i'm, like,
hey give you a, quarter if you'll, eat if, you'll if,
you'll if you'll make a happy if you'll make a
happy plate quarter coming to.

Speaker 1 (01:04:24):
You he's, Like he looked at, me, like are you?
Kidding you just took grandparent to a PLACE i never.
Thought i've Seen greg do THINGS i never. Thought, yeah
you just to offer to give somebody, MONEY i.

Speaker 6 (01:04:32):
Know and it wasn't you, know for all of us
that wasn't a big step. Out but to him at,
five he's, like you kidding? Me and then probably not
the best. Tactic you, know he just needs to mind his.
Dad but being a, grandparent do whatever you want to.

Speaker 1 (01:04:46):
Do who? Cares? Who?

Speaker 6 (01:04:48):
Uh and so he tore that food, up, buddy he
couldn't get quick. Enough and so after it's, OVER i
go back out because you, know you don't have to
change in your pocket, anymore so you have to go
to the truck and get.

Speaker 1 (01:04:58):
It and so, anyway for.

Speaker 6 (01:05:00):
By the TIME i gave him a, quarter and uncles
gave him quarters and all, this he had a dollar
worth the. QUARTERS i, said, uh, hey go put that
in your piggy bank in your, room and he looked
at me like do you Whatn't AND i looked At
tyler And Maybraw i'm, like, hey does he have a piggy?
Bank and they was like, No And i'm, like what
kid doesn't have a piggy. Bank but THEN i started, thinking,

(01:05:20):
well it's a different. World we don't have no people
don't have change or. Whatever who, said, Well i'm changing.
THAT i remember having a piggy bank WHEN i was growing,
up And i'd always put money in, there and even
WHEN i would go back to to you, know home
after college or, whatever that piggy bank would still be.
FULL i never really got off in, it But i'd
always put.

Speaker 1 (01:05:40):
Money in the piggy.

Speaker 6 (01:05:41):
Bank our piggy banks now just something you don't.

Speaker 1 (01:05:44):
Have well they, HAVE i don't know they do all of.
Them But pace has this incredible hault and he's a piggy.
Bank Mary hollis makes me dump all the change out
so she can put it back. In. Huh SO i
have to dump take the cap off the, bottom dumping
out to put it back, in and she wants the whole.
Time so it's a hallkey, bank. Notiggy it's cut off right.

(01:06:07):
Here and he said flat do you remember the silver
one we? Had oh, Yeah greg AND i had a
silver piggy. Bank really it was a silver piller pig
huh that we do even?

Speaker 6 (01:06:16):
HAVE i, mean you know, now AND i started talking
about let me guess you don't have a cookie jar.
Either you remember the cookie? Jaw you just take the
little hand the. COOKIE i, mean it's JUST i GUESS
i don't, know it's just a different. Time but but
the piggy, Banks i'm hearing after talking to a number of,
people they're, like, well, no we don't do your kids
have piggy.

Speaker 5 (01:06:33):
Banks ruby has a piggy bank and it is a
pink pig as it is not yet BECAUSE i think
he would eat the.

Speaker 1 (01:06:38):
Quarters, okay, yeah, yeah that's that's why you don't want
to do. That but we're gonna. Change somebody still got
one at thirty seven years. Old, yeah there you.

Speaker 3 (01:06:48):
GO i do a sticker.

Speaker 5 (01:06:49):
CHARGE i Think i've told you all about this with
oh yeah, yeah, yeah like you do some good clean your,
room get a, sticker you get ten. Stickers we'll go
to the toy store And i'm just trying to, yeah
banking it banking out right, now we're just banking. Stick
BUT i do need to probably explain quarters and dollars
and cents To.

Speaker 1 (01:07:03):
Ruby really do you think are? There is it gonna
be a big deal for them when they ever really
deal with.

Speaker 5 (01:07:07):
It unless you're going up to a vending machine trying
to get some bubble gum or. Something right at The mexican,
restaurant they still got them for some. Reason they're they're still.

Speaker 3 (01:07:15):
There.

Speaker 1 (01:07:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:07:17):
Wow AND i don't know why even had change in my,
truck BUT i, did and that his uncles did, Too
and so we're getting him a piggy.

Speaker 1 (01:07:26):
Bank he's going to get a piggy. Bank you got
to have a piggy. Bank, sure they got all kinds
OF i didn't realize you. Could i'm glad to hear
that your grandsons still respond to a, quarter, Right, yeah
sometimes the little, kids they've got a pretty good understanding
that quarter ain't.

Speaker 3 (01:07:40):
Nothing, yeah twenty and we could, talk, RIGHT i.

Speaker 1 (01:07:43):
Need four of those to even get a. Drink, yeah

to the dollar tree With greg and find something.

And beautiful every day at. Lunch mechanics in. There ye
all into the. Story, yeah you get hooked in the
story and you can miss a month come. Back not
very little as Chasing and when when When lisa AND
i got married and she wanted me to Watch Knots
landing AND i was, LIKE i ain't watching that. CRAP

(01:11:52):
i watched one episode AND i watched it for like four.
Years they get you in the. Storyline, yeah, YEAH i
think that's only REASON i never want you, know this is.
Weird but, yeah BECAUSE i can people say contend to be.
Quirky i've never noticed.

Speaker 3 (01:12:08):
IT i.

Speaker 1 (01:12:08):
COULDN'T i could never get past the fact THAT i
didn't like the way it. Looked, yeah WHEN i was
watching stuff on week, nights it looked big time professional soap,
operas looked like somebody was doing a play ON tv
and like they were ON vhs tape or something you
recorded that you took all these. Kids it just felt

(01:12:29):
too weird for. Me, yeah it gave me a weird
feeling to see. It SO i never got involved in,
one and BUT i know a lot of people. Did
they'll get to around like during. Lunchtime oh, yeah they'll Be.

Speaker 3 (01:12:53):
Yeah now was this look And laura? Wedding was this
as big of a deal as who shot J? R?

Speaker 1 (01:13:01):
Rob it was very? Similar, really everybody was talking about,
It LIKE i, Said chris cross even wrote a song about.

Speaker 3 (01:13:06):
It, yeah Oh Christopher, crosses think Of.

Speaker 1 (01:13:09):
Laura that's the one that'd bring a tear dou. Glass
OH i wanted was? Sailing, yeah and didn't they like
didn't they didn't they like milk that storyline that like
they kept them run to their way too old and there?
Anymore yeah they used. It, yeah oh.

Speaker 6 (01:13:27):
Yeah we never turned the soap opera back on and saying, That,
wow so everybody's still, there youretty?

Speaker 1 (01:13:33):
Much. WHY i was watching one day AND i just
happened to look up And STEPHEN. A smith was on
general guest. Appearances he was like in a serious, role, yes,
Yes and then he went to another soap OPERA. Espn, yes,
uh which yeah did you see the other, day kind
of calling out that we had the audio AND i

(01:13:54):
was gonna. Play we never got to it because we
had to go into something. Else but but he was, saying,
look you, know he's certainly not a. Concern he, Goes
i've tried to get all the far left people to
come on my. Show they won't come. On every TIME
i talked to a, conservative they come on the show
and talk to. ME i can't Get schumer. ON i
can't get anybody, on he. SAID i put out the,
request they won't come, on and because they don't want

(01:14:14):
to come on here and debate me and talk about,
it even THOUGH i probably would lean that more to the,
left But i'm not going to sit here out like
the left doesn't need. Help there's certain things that the
left's got to do. Different and he, SAID i guess
they don't want to come on the. Show and hear
That i'm, paraphrasing but that was the bottom. Line he
can't get anybody to come on because they were talking
about he always is in talking to more conservative. People
he's like with they're the only ones that will accept the.

(01:14:37):
Invitation so but, YEAH i didn't know he was. ON
i remember somebody told me that he's standing there with
a serious look on his. FACE i was GOING i
walked through the the you know the big kitchen that we.
Share there's A tv on in. THERE i walked through
And STEPHEN. A smith is standing On General. Hospital i'm,
like what does he do? With? Yeah but you're. Right
there was this female actress THAT i remember her being

(01:14:59):
on the soap opera line when we were. Kids it seems,
LIKE i, know they can't be true THAT i walked
through the other day and like she's still.

Speaker 3 (01:15:06):
On oh, Yeah young and The.

Speaker 5 (01:15:07):
WRESTLERS i think a lady had like a thirty or
forty maybe fifty even year run on a.

Speaker 1 (01:15:12):
Series all, right something that's been on.

Speaker 6 (01:15:14):
There they must get paid well because they just go
and never.

Speaker 1 (01:15:16):
Leave, Yeah luke And. Laura Richard simmons was with him.
Them he made, YEAH i think you're confusing that, hair,
DUDE i don't. KNOW i think he was on.

Speaker 6 (01:15:27):
THERE i told, that so he.

Speaker 1 (01:15:28):
Does and you, know you of, anybody should know About Richard.
Simmons that's. Right so he licked your. Eye you didn't
have to bring that. Up can we hear? Something his
tongue in my? Eye he didn't lick. It, oh that's.
Better but he knows what it's like for somebody to
come after you during the middle of the.

Speaker 3 (01:15:43):
Day do you all want to Hear stephen a real? Quick,
WELL i heard it here to hear.

Speaker 4 (01:15:49):
You, rick gotcha, now? Kid this is The Rick Burgess, show.

Speaker 7 (01:16:07):
Es P.

Speaker 1 (01:16:08):
N it will be the J Lab Birmingham, Bowl Georgia
southern taking on App state and. Uh the executive director
of The Jay Lab Birmingham, Bowl Mark, meadows joins us
on the. Show, mark, welcome great to be. Back you
good to see on that big. Again that big Boy.

(01:16:28):
Mike he's, ready So, mark another great. Matchup before we
go any, further you AND i were discussing a little.
Bit tell me About Jay, lab the main, sponsor and
and what what they're really helping you guys put.

Speaker 7 (01:16:44):
Together they're they're they're really excited, about, uh their entitlement
of our. Game they're they're really getting involved in college.
Football The mendoza guy that just won The heisman is
one of their one of their N I o, Guys
so they were pretty excited about, that you can. Imagine
so they got really involved in N I l and

(01:17:05):
then they decided they wanted to get involved with a bowl,
game and luckily we were the one that they. Chose
they're very engaged which is good from a bull standpoint
to have a sponsor that really wants to get engaged
and do a lot of fun stuff and you, know
and their you, know their products are really.

Speaker 1 (01:17:22):
Good no doubt about. That so exciting, matchup two great fan.
Bases and you, know a little sports trivia. MARK i
don't know If i've ever mentioned, it BUT i played
little ball and IT'S i don't know if we ever
ran through that, before but interesting. Fact so When Eric
russell first started coaching At Georgia, Southern i'm talking about

(01:17:45):
they were playing in a high school. STADIUM i played
For troy then it was Called Troy state and we
Played Georgia. SOUTHERN i believe in their inaugural. Season wow
when they when they in nineteen eighty two or three
would have been fall of eighty, three wouldn't it? Right
no fall of eighty, Two no eighty, Three so fall

(01:18:05):
of eighty three and. Uh AND i remember they had
a quarterback Named Tracy HAM i believe was his, name
and he was. Unstoppable he went on to like be
a big time stud in The Canadian league AND i
remember chasing him all over that that that field In
Georgia southern you, know And erk and all and and
the reputation that they went on to. Have you, know

(01:18:28):
they they made it into a famous you, Know Nick
saban line one time when they Played bama and Gave
bama fits and then of course app state good. NIGHT i,
mean they're they're. There you never know what you what
they might. Do and so both of these have great fan,
bases but it's also a great matchup for those that
may not be connected to either team just want to

(01:18:48):
see a good football. Game.

Speaker 7 (01:18:49):
Yeah, Yeah and you, KNOW i, Learned i'm learning a
little bit more about this. RIVALRY i was Telling speedy
earlier THAT i.

Speaker 1 (01:18:55):
DID i.

Speaker 7 (01:18:55):
Wasn't i'd heard of the their rivalry is Called deeper Than,
hate so AND I i'd heard about, that BUT i
really didn't understand it UNTIL i kind of started drilling
down a little. Bit but ye, know these guys started
playing in the, thirties had a little bit of a,
break AND i think they resumed their series back in the. Eighties,
yeah but it's very, serious especially among the fan, base

(01:19:17):
and you, KNOW i think you, know the players are
pretty fired up about it, Too BUT i know the
fan base is pretty. Crazy so any time you have
a rivalry called deeper Than, hey you, know it's you,
know it's a pretty good it's really.

Speaker 1 (01:19:28):
Good, WOW i just TELL i take it right. There,
yeah so so tell us a little bit what they
can If i'm out, there And i'm, like it sounds
like something really good that will Have christmas behind us
the new year are. Becoming it hits on a perfect
day on the twenty, ninth and it's going to be
there in the. Afternoon it should be a beautiful day In.
Birmingham that's one of the you, know it was funny

(01:19:49):
my wife was talking about she was it was somebody
she was talking about with the, company and the woman
she was talking to was In michigan and she said
to my, wife tell me what's going on In alabama right?
Now Because i've gotten to the point of my life
i am done with winners In michigan And i'm thinking
about moving To. Alabama. Uh the beautiful thing About, alabama
we can give you a cold, day but all of a,

(01:20:09):
sudden you never, know In, december we might give, you you,
know a day in the sixties and in a beautiful.
Day and we're we're certainly pulling for.

Speaker 6 (01:20:16):
That.

Speaker 1 (01:20:17):
Uh but what else can they expect what kind of
what's gonna be going on around the.

Speaker 7 (01:20:20):
Game, yeah so So, jay like saying, Earlier Ja leb
is very, engaged and so they have come up with
an idea and that that we're going to try to
pull off at the game is called The Epic celebration
and so AND i was telling The, speedy we're working
with the N C DOUBLE a officials to make sure
we don't.

Speaker 1 (01:20:37):
Get any we don't get any penalties or.

Speaker 7 (01:20:39):
Anything but but after an epic, play, touchdown, interception, whatever,
uh there will be a button on the on the
each player's team box that the player that has the
epic play can go over and hit the. Button there
will be an array of speakers set up in Our
south Ends jaylab speakers which are. Huge they told me

(01:21:04):
how many watch but it didn't mean anything to, me
but it's a. Lot and and and so when he
hits that, button his song will play immediately after that play,
cool and then he will be awarded a set of gold.
Headphones and, guys WHEN i say gold, headphone these are
helmet size, like so they're they're, huge they actually. Work

(01:21:27):
and and so he will be awarded a gold headphone
and get to keep that and take it home with.

Speaker 1 (01:21:32):
Him it's pretty.

Speaker 7 (01:21:33):
Crazy and then the winning team will get you, know
each of them will get a pair of their blue
speakers or their blue headphones that they.

Speaker 1 (01:21:41):
Do so you, know it's going to be.

Speaker 7 (01:21:43):
Crazy LIKE i, said the game is going to be
crazy and and all of. It you, know we're looking
forward to to doing the epic, celebration you, know where
whether the mascot hits the button or one of the
players hits the.

Speaker 1 (01:21:53):
Button you. Know but but we're going to have lots
of music and. Sound. Yeah, yeah well you get a
sponsor Like Jay, lab the sounds handled and you, Know
Objective stadium is perfect for that entertainment set. Up it's
just it's just such a great. Environment it. Is those
speakers will be right below where you, are you'll hear.
Them so so let's talk about you, know when when

(01:22:16):
you're talking about The bowl, games, now these are these
are you, know these are businesses THAT i mean WHEN
i think about when you come in, here when like
at this time of, year when's last time you? Slept not? Much,
yeah so These bowl, games it's it is an operating
business that works year, around, right it. Is, yeah you,

(01:22:37):
know we.

Speaker 7 (01:22:38):
People the biggest QUESTION i, get the QUESTION i get
most often is what do you do the rest of the.
Year you, know they THINK i just work In, december
but we you, know we started in the first three
months of the. Year you, know we'll do our recaps
and we'll work with our venues and, say, hey what went,
right what went? Wrong trying to make it better for next.
Year we usually find out our date about the middle

(01:22:59):
of the, year so we start planning our venues and
things that we're going to you, know the team functions
that we're going to. Do sales start in the middle
of the, summer and then we're heavy into sales during the,
fall and then we get to this time of year
and once the teams are named like a Sleep yeah
it's good. Time, yeah you're similar to.

Speaker 1 (01:23:18):
That you know what we saw in the MOVIE lf
when they come in After santas delivered the gifts and
he likes the season's. Done he, Goes, okay now let's
get it started on next. Year everybody starts go ahead
making toys. Again, yeah that's. Similar Right january Through, june.

Speaker 7 (01:23:33):
And my job is pretty, good you, know you know,
what no late, hours you, know it's, good but then
once we get To july And, august it kind of
starts ramping up a, bit and Then November december is just.

Speaker 1 (01:23:44):
Crazy talk to me about. TICKETS i, mean Obviously Birmingham
bowl dot, com BUT i guess there's a little. Bit
there's all kinds of different packages and stuff invable there
are you, know we start off in the end.

Speaker 7 (01:23:55):
ZONE i think those go for about thirty nine dollars a,
piece and then they go all the way up to
our clubs seating which is a little over two, hundred
but that includes food and, beverage you, know in a
in an area that we can stay warm if it
is a cold. Day but so you, know all sorts
of tickets, available you, know and then the TEAM i don't,
know you, guys you, know our teams are going to

(01:24:16):
see The Birmingham Civil Rights. Institute they'll do a tour.
There they'll they'll be at THE Va hospital And children's
Of alabama. Hospitals while they're, here we've got a bowling
and barbecue challenge that's presented By dreamland where THEY i
THINK i tell you all this every, year but the
first year we did, it they ate six hundred pounds of.
Meat so you've got three hundred players, eating so you

(01:24:37):
know that's two pounds of.

Speaker 1 (01:24:38):
MEAT i, guess pretty big.

Speaker 7 (01:24:39):
Fellowship, yeah and then one night we go to The
korean barbecue where they cook their own, meals and last
year it was the first year we had done. That
some players have never cooked for themselves, before so it
was it was quite entertaining to watch because you've cooked
at your. Table and then that that will kind of
go on the same time With dave And buster's event
is going, on and then fan fit us on the

(01:25:01):
twenty eighth and twenty. Ninth Brad, Ryan, oh, yes all,
Right man's Best friend will be. On you, know we'll
be playing out there On monday on game day and,
they you, know they always put on a great. Show
they do their bluegrass which fits into our southern hospitality
and serious football. Theme and he and his group learned
the fight songs from both teams and play the periodically.

Speaker 1 (01:25:23):
On that whole game. Day, so, oh that'll be. Fun
so if you want to find out, everything go To
Birmingham bowl dot, Com Birmingham bowl dot, Com the J
Lab Birmingham bow Coming, Monday december the twenty, NINTH espn
one pm local, Time, Georgia southern App, State southern, hospitality serious,
football and that's.

Speaker 6 (01:25:42):
The only bowl game that for the Entire bowl. Series
that's the only bowl game on that.

Speaker 1 (01:25:48):
Day so. Nice so we have it to ourselves lead
Into monday night. Football that's. Right oh? Nice, Okay So,
MARK i know you've got a lot to. Do thank
you for taking time to be with. Us thank, You,

show you that they all knew when they sent it
to me that they were asking for, This. Okay the
other is there were two couples that surely, said, hey
we're going to go to. Eat looks like they're going
to be back in. Town one of the couples you,

(01:26:56):
know has moved To. Georgia and this is the if
you've been following along the couple That sherry AND i
aren't smart enough to be friends with. Them, yeah, okay
so these are over here on that on the, left
sitting there with the shirt on the flannel tight. Shirt
that's That's Brian. Reid and he like knows everything about like,

(01:27:16):
submarines like served on the, submarine knows all the the
world of. Submarines they've, got like you, know a son
who's a, submariner and like a daughter who's like some
sort OF fbi, agent and and they're they're they're way submarine,
there way. Beyond Greg greg try last, night tried to

(01:27:36):
correct me on two. Block he, said he, said you
know your brother's close To he, goes he, doesn't he
doesn't understand THE i don't know the submarine version of.
It he said that, Great and BEFORE i knew, IT
i was getting a little bit of a lecture on
two blocked right and so and and it, never it
never fails anytime in this conversation THAT i don't have

(01:27:58):
anything to bring to the. Table. Nothing when when THEY'RE
i just sit and listen AND i think to, Myself
i'm NOT i don't know enough to Be brian's. Friend,
okay so you try to dilute it a little bit
with the. Sas and this Is tim And Becky sager.
Here here are dear friends of ours in there and
Our sunday school, class and we go to church. Together
we used to all go to church together until our

(01:28:20):
two smart friends moved To. Georgia and and now you.

Speaker 6 (01:28:23):
Know you realize you're telling all your other friends they're not.

Speaker 1 (01:28:25):
Smart you said most of other friends aren't Very smart's
that's why why do you think? Everybody why do you
THINK i chose? You'all that's WHY i work. HERE i
mean this makes makes. SENSE i, mean you know you
THINK i want to tread and deep water all the.
Time so so, anyway so we're we're having the. Conversation
i'm trying to keep up once again because what AM

(01:28:47):
i bringing to the table from? Work? Uh, hey we
had a woman today shoot a basketball over the back
of the go and and hit a. Cody, okay, yeah
know does that fit INTO i KNOW i know how
to build the nuclear the. SUBMARINE i mean it just
it really. Doesn't he's an. Engineer it's all, this it's
just a. Lot well so The sagers and they know

(01:29:10):
they knew. This they sent out this video to all of,
us including our two smart friends and Our even though
they're very, smart they're like. Us they laugh at just
the simplest. Things that's where we. CONNECT i don't know
How tim got away with, this and his wife has
a great attitude about. It, okay THEY i think they
could Win America's Funniest Home. Videos they had a zipline.

(01:29:33):
Incident oh apparently he was dabbling with a zip line
at home and his wife decided to try. It, no, no,
no this crash you're about to. See WHEN i first
got no, no WHEN i first got this, video she's
sitting at the table where we're eating last. Night these
are not the smart. Friends these are not well you'll

(01:29:54):

unbelievably godly. People it's too, late but but but but
they can they can they Can they hang with the.
Reeds they. Can't none of us.

Speaker 3 (01:30:10):
Can't all, right which, lady are we about to?

Speaker 1 (01:30:12):
Watch in the middle on the left, side this person right,
here right, here he's about to go hard to, Go
AND i Mean i'm talking. About she's she's, feisty she Loves,
jesus she'll go anywhere to to advance the. Gospel but she's,
well she's not great on. Zipline, okay. Okay and WHEN
i first saw, THIS i thought it was A i.

(01:30:33):
GENERATED i did not think it was. Real wait a,
minute he canna tell me she's gonna hit that. Tree
there's a tree she's about to crash really. Bad, oh
y'all are not ready for y'all are not? Ready? Yeah,
Okay and he and the husband has told her to
put her feet down because he's already done. It uh.
Huh she didn't get him. Down, okay she doesn't put
her feet. Down we just. Watch, okay y'all are real.

(01:30:55):
Fast oh got, down got it, down put it, down put.

Speaker 2 (01:30:58):
It oh my, God, OKAY i thought it killed.

Speaker 1 (01:31:10):
Her how can't you survive? That she did?

Speaker 3 (01:31:14):
It that looked like a core?

Speaker 1 (01:31:15):
Craft didn't you look at? YOU i generated her head
without her hands being. THAT i thought it was over,
with AND i, look she. Didn't it gets. Words you
think it's gonna be a simple hit the, tree but
it's so much.

Speaker 6 (01:31:26):
Worse i'm gonna ask for slow, motion, please, okay watch
this right.

Speaker 1 (01:31:32):
Here, okay now we're hidden.

Speaker 3 (01:31:37):
Twice an adult, woman.

Speaker 1 (01:31:40):
She did a cartwheel With what? Happened is this the
seat she was on hit her a second? TIME i
know WHEN i first saw, IT i, thought you got
a real bad bruise somewhere just now there She, okay, guys, guys,
guys when her husband sent that to the, GROUP i

(01:32:01):
did not think it was. REAL i thought it was
a generally BECAUSE i thought nobody would send slowed it. Down, okay,
guys this this second thing that happens and flincher on her,
head so she she didn't.

Speaker 3 (01:32:13):
Stop she clipped, one.

Speaker 1 (01:32:15):
Slip one and then, RIGHT o my, GOODNESS, o my.
God what. Now, now let's go to the audio and. Listen, listen.

Speaker 5 (01:32:32):
You, know.

Speaker 1 (01:32:34):
Let's go to the audio and listen to the. Husband
and he realized its getting away from him because he keeps.
Listen there's there's a few moments he tried. Listen oh, oh,
well he's not. Running she's. Laughing oh my, goodness let's

(01:32:54):
see she. Laughing she, laughing, her she, going oh, no
so she was there last, night but she was sore after.
That you, know she was there last night.

Speaker 6 (01:33:09):
Walking, okay so the picture at the table was after
that's after. That so she's sitting up right and.

Speaker 1 (01:33:14):
Everything she has a, bruise but she could not show
it to us where all good friends, were not THAT
i could tell. You she's got to tell by why
she was. Acting she. Said she said that the seat
hitting her that gave her the second, Fleet uh, huh
really bruised.

Speaker 3 (01:33:28):
Her she looked like she got hit by a. Bull,
yeah like a bull flipped her into as an.

Speaker 1 (01:33:35):
Adult sometimes you sit there and you go in my
hurt you To.

Speaker 5 (01:33:40):
Yeah, yes she clipped. Twice she did not hit the.
Ground she flipped and flipped. Again have you ever seen
the spin the top of their? Heads you know that's
what she looked.

Speaker 1 (01:33:51):
Like. Right they're also the two that are like you know,
this this is why this this friendship is hard for
me because you got the two That i'm not smart
enough to be there, friend and then the other, two
including the woman who. Slipped you saw how she. Is
they're like the greatest pickleball couple, Ever like they'll beat
your brains out and. Pickleball, yeah the player tomorrow maybe

(01:34:14):
maybe with the bruise when you have a. Chance but
it's almost like, that and they're like those two kind of,
people you, know they're they're not over the large. People they're,
tiny little people and they never get. Tired right we Got,
yeah it's they they never get. Tired did the book
of blame come out on the?

Speaker 6 (01:34:30):
Husband BECAUSE i feel like there's there should have been
a little bit of more now prepch.

Speaker 1 (01:34:38):
She went higher than the. Latter by the, way, everybody
anybody who wants to copy of this just see.

Speaker 5 (01:34:44):
Me BUT i mean.

Speaker 1 (01:34:47):
That second one and he says that he told her
that he did it. Once he said he did it
once and put his feet down and said this is.
How and he said she didn't get the feet on the. Tree,

(01:35:08):
maybe well. DIDN'T i don't know what her plan, was
but it was not the right. Plan oh, YEAH i
don't know how the book of, BLAME i, mean somehow
probably worked his way. Back you, know IF i had
been part of that right, there, yep, listen you know,
WHAT i think my wife would have taken my phone

(01:35:29):
and would have removed the camera out and and taken
the video and miss. That, greg that's probably what even
