Speaker 4 (01:59):
It's great meeting him.

Last night, we also will speedy. Will we hear from
mister Nadmar today.

Speaker 6 (02:28):
He a tide as you can imagine, fired up but
a little worn out.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
He gave it all he got.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
He had in the family there in there all week.
Good to see him screaming at Pavia. He went off
the field right, yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:42):
And so I could talk a lot. It was. It
was good to see him screaming at him.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
It was good to see h Johnny Manziel give the
Tide fans two double birds while wearing a Pavia shirt jersey.

Speaker 4 (02:54):
Yes, that was interesting. Yes, that was interesting. What's his
tide of that? I guess he thinks he was a
Pavia first. I think that's Ye're all over that. Yeah,
so uh yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
So anyway that I did get I did see birthday weekend.
I got to see all of that game again. I'm
trying and I love college football. I just I can't
sit through more than one game.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
Try.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
Yeah, So I go to scanning after that, and I
just kind of drop in on things.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
I tried not to. I tried.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
I made a mistake of checking on Missippi State that
I feel like I was Mojo and these as soon
as I got over there.

Speaker 6 (03:25):
That did something terrible in the rich Yeah, it was
seven to three for the long. That was a good game,
and it's a good game, and then and then it
just got away, just got away from so am So Texas,
Texas A and m tough place night, twelfth Man.

Speaker 4 (03:37):
Yeah, and they hung in there the whole time.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
Tough, tough place to play, got a good team, undefeated,
let me tell you, Uh Florida State.

Speaker 4 (03:46):
So yeah, a weird fourth quarter.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
Came on in, didn't But you look at the final
score and Miami dominated. They were like twenty eighty three
most of the game, and then they barely.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
At the end. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
I mean there was never a threat they were gonna
have to score million times. But I get Florida State.
They kept trying. Yeah, so they really did. So that
that was that was interesting. Hey Penn State, Wow. Wow,
by the way, Hey, wow, couple of things too. And
a lot of people think that we got some sort
of look.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
We didn't know.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
I'm just telling you we've been around this game so
long and watching Texas and frankly arch Manning not solidified,
and Florida's got athletes. Many people are going, my gosh,
y'all told us on the air, watch this game, keep
an eye on that one.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
And you could just say they played good defense all year.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
And plus Napier seems to save his job. But this
exactly true. It takes him about four games. Really, Napier
always saves his job. At this time of year. Texas
to me, still is like a car. It's not quite
running right. I know it's got a lot of potentially
to win the race. Yeah, but it just we ain't
got set up. It just not hitting on every cylinder.
And we thought the combination of those two things, because

(04:58):
let me tell you the problem you got out there,
if you're sputting around a little bit.

Speaker 4 (05:01):
Everybody's got players, and Florida is very athletic.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
And they got it. And he's had a bad year.
We were like, sooner or later, he's gonna have a
good game.

Speaker 6 (05:09):
Classic being a missus fans, okay, and and go classic State.
Now they got Florida. Now they figured it out. That
Florida's figured it out.

Speaker 4 (05:18):
Now we got a time and with one. Why couldn't
we have played it when they couldn't figure it out? Also, okay,
we got it.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
Come on, Billy's got them going fine. I'm certainly not apprude.
And if you've listened to this show, you know that
we're not approved. Probably could be a little more prudish. Okay,
I have not watched much of Game Day. I just
it just hadn't worked out. On Saturdays, I didn't either,
I mean usually at the farmers market, but it was
my birthday so I didn't have to go to the
farmers market. And I settled in, you know, with with

(05:48):
a cup of coffee and went all right, here it is,
I'm going all in on Gaday. Wow, I didn't rush
how much the custs on that show. They they they're
they're a little edgy on that show. All I mean,
there's there's some words I didn't think you could say anymore?
Are you never you still can't say? They they almost
said the able s almost as many times as we do.

Speaker 4 (06:08):
It was close.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
They said it more than I expected. I wouldn't expecting
Saban to say the S word and it just be
right on the ear.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
I think that's his favorite. Yeah, at least talk about
that ten hornet.

Speaker 7 (06:20):
Though.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
I heard s O B heard s O B wow,
And then I heard a very off color innuendo from
from from McAfee that just I was like, did he
just say that?

Speaker 8 (06:33):
The addition of McAfee seems to.

Speaker 4 (06:37):
Loosened up a little bit.

Speaker 8 (06:38):
Mcaffee's show even says like there's like a disclaimer like
people that we talk like real people talk, and sometimes
we might cuss, Please don't sue us. I don't know
if you've seen that on his regular show. Yeah, so
that kind of tells you.

Speaker 4 (06:54):
Yeah, and I thought, but that's his regular show.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
You think it still seems weird that THEO Vaughn was
brought in to be the guest picker in Alabama.

Speaker 4 (07:01):
He was pretty funny in his pick. He says he's
right home. Literally, that's my I'll tell.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
You the funny line that people finally start picking up
on when he said that the board you can't hold
last year against him because he was playing with the
other coaches players.

Speaker 4 (07:19):
That's funny.

Speaker 8 (07:20):
Did you see him go to that girl, well I
see you again, because she was kind of transitioning to
the next segment. He's like, well, I see you again.
She goes, I hope not.

Speaker 5 (07:30):
I hope.

Speaker 8 (07:33):
That clip went kind of viral and he responded and
he said, you know, shooters, shoot, what are you gonna do?

Speaker 4 (07:39):
You try? I will throw this out too.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
Coming in from Tennessee last night and watching Game Day, guys,
I never thought it would happen. I even had people
in the hair business saying it will never happen. The
mullet came back.

Speaker 4 (07:53):
It's back. The mullet is back there.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
Then how about this, The mullet has solidified itself as
a hairstyle again. No one thought that would happen, but
it is back back. I saw it all over Tennessee
last night. I saw it all over Game Day on Saturday. Okay,
and it's not just a little how about this, it's
not even little kids anymore.

Speaker 4 (08:13):
They're trying to be funny.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
And the little kids brought it back, they did, but
now their dads are doing it and that's kind of cool.

Speaker 5 (08:19):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
I saw guy last night in Tennessee. I said, I said, buddy,
I said, I was on the platform in the pulpit,
and I looked up in the baccony and saw your
bullet blazing.

Speaker 4 (08:30):
See from had a little curl to it. I'll tell
you this, my hair won't grow anymore.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
But if it did and I still had the hair
I used to have, I would have a mullet right now.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
I can't physic, you could I physically.

Speaker 6 (08:41):
It would be great. You know, I love it. I
know we've talked about it. The name of all the mullets.
What would a horseshoe moment be? Because I'm in if.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
The horse.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
Yeah, but Ben Frankt was the first scullet and he
owned it. So the horseshoe thing is called a skull.
Yeah it's a scull. Okay, yeah, horsehoe with just a
little ball spot in the back. Let's say what. You'll
understand my hair won't grow, even the hair I have, Okay,
I don't know. I don't have to get a haircut
about every six months.

Speaker 4 (09:10):
So we have we have.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
I think, uh, I think we'll definitely hear not me
roar back today, no doubt. Oh if he can talk,
I wonder if he's got a voice or if it's.

Speaker 4 (09:24):
Yeah, it's horse, that's a everybody. There's some rowdy there's
some tough places to play out. Yeah, so we'll be
back hanging ever.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the hardest working men

(10:03):
in the business, The Rick Bridges Show.

Speaker 4 (10:08):
Alrighty, thanks for being with us. Okay, so.

Speaker 3 (10:14):
We'll get into some other stuff from the weekend. We
have a lot to unpack today, so.

Speaker 4 (10:20):
We'll run through all of it.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
Safe stuff, walk in tubs back with us again this week.
Thanks for a lot of you that have responded to this.
This great speaking of Tennessee where I was last night.
What a great company out of the greatest great state
at Tennessee. If you have a family member or you yourself,
are concerned about possibly being injured and the traditional tub

(10:43):
that you have to step over into that gets a
little more difficult as you get a little bit older.
But you can have a safe step walk in tub.
I mean your entire bathroom can be transformed back to
a place of tranquility and relaxation and rejuvenation with help
from our friends. It's safe step walk in tubs most
of the time. They can do it in the same day.

(11:05):
And and don't forget we get you sixteen hundred dollars off.
So you want to mention that you get a free
shower package too, And all they're going to do is
consult with you. There's no obligation because I know you
want some more information. So call Safe Step Walk in
Tubs one eight hundred nine five six twelve twenty Birge,
run that number for me again. Well, let me just

(11:26):
tell you this, Rick burgesshow dot com look under the
sponsor's button is right there, Safe Step Walk in Tubs.
So some other things that we will unpack today. You
know a lot of people are are, you know, wondering
if we saw Lee Corso.

Speaker 4 (11:42):
Greg, I think you just said it best.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
You could not have said the right phrase when when
you saw him first of all, I can tell that
Curb Herb Street, it's like he's been set Kirk Kerb
Kirk Herb Street has been set free. Yeah, he's been
set free. They look on his face, you know when
you just makes him nervous. Yeah, yeah, but he's been
set for he's having fun. It's like those guys were

(12:05):
cutting up without Kirk and now he's showed back up
and they go, oh you're back yes, And he said, yeah,
I had to take care of my dad. You know,
he was struggling and so right, and I didn't really
realize how much they carried him. I thought I knew
until I watched Florida State try to honor Lee Corso
and he could barely even wave. He couldn't get his

(12:25):
hand to do the right thing. And then Greg said.

Speaker 4 (12:28):
It, that's true.

Speaker 3 (12:30):
Yeah, they've used up every ounce of Lee Corso they
can for that show, from all these years up to
the very like this the other night. I mean, he
could barely and he can't help it. I mean, I'm
not making fun of him at all, but I'm saying,
you got admitted. They squeezed that tible. There's nothing left now,
and if one more bit left, if Lee Corso was

(12:50):
an orange, there's no more juice.

Speaker 4 (12:52):
Okay, I mean they know you squeezed. They got every
body out.

Speaker 3 (12:56):
Let's see, we got it, happened, then you retired like twice, right,
then we worked that out, and then now we got
him again.

Speaker 4 (13:01):
He's gone.

Speaker 6 (13:02):
Then we got to bring him back one more time
for this. I thought it wouldn't feel bad for him,
and I don't mean this uh to be rude. When
he was when he was waving it looked like it
was a fake arm.

Speaker 5 (13:12):
It did.

Speaker 4 (13:12):
It didn't look like it was a tax to it didn't.

Speaker 6 (13:15):
I thought somebody was like using a fake arming. You
know when singers use tracks to hide the fact they
can't sing anymore.

Speaker 4 (13:22):
They had like a fake arm. Yeah, it didn't look
like it was like guys as they speed. I think
there may be something to it.

Speaker 8 (13:28):
Uh, there's somebody on his looks like there's somebody on
his back like working him like a puppet.

Speaker 4 (13:35):
It looks like somebody's working on my gun. Y'all, good night.

Speaker 8 (13:39):
Why does it look like somebody?

Speaker 4 (13:41):
What is Jeff I'm doing?

Speaker 5 (13:43):
There?

Speaker 4 (13:43):
Was he real?

Speaker 9 (13:44):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (13:45):
He may not have been real. Yeah, that's funny.

Speaker 3 (13:47):
Is it guy on the back as he's Oh god,
it does like the guy's working the lever.

Speaker 4 (13:53):
I'm not proud. I'm not proud of what I saw. Uh.

Speaker 6 (13:56):
And and again, man, let's just yeah, most people at
his age each they're not in the public eye.

Speaker 4 (14:01):
They're just enjoying. And and he's done well, he has
done so much game.

Speaker 8 (14:06):
He had so much for the game.

Speaker 4 (14:08):
Let's let him think that and that'll do. Let's let
him rest.

Speaker 10 (14:11):
Greg.

Speaker 3 (14:11):
Is there any any just any water left in that tower.
You ain't get a tie when you see nothing. Now
it's back to dry.

Speaker 5 (14:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
So yeah, you squeeze so much water out of his
dry little stiff.

Speaker 4 (14:24):
Yeah it is so also, so.

Speaker 3 (14:28):
We'll kind of break down, you know the weekend, I
mean looking looking out, you know Ohio State.

Speaker 4 (14:36):
You know they they took.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
Care of business this past weekend and then they get
rowed the boat. They sure did forty two to three.
Does anybody again, I don't understand whatever happened to p J.

Speaker 5 (14:49):
Fleck.

Speaker 3 (14:50):
I mean, one time it was the hottest name. He
was saying that he's doing bad. I'm just saying he
just doesn't have the I don't know, the excitement around
him that he once had. Yeah, we talked about that
beat Florida State. Yeah, don't beats food by the score. Yeah,
Florida State was twenty eight twenty two. That's a little.

Speaker 4 (15:08):
I can say the.

Speaker 3 (15:09):
Same thing for the Alabama game. Yeah, that sco it
is not that game was closed the whole game. It
was Oregon didn't play Ole Miss, didn't play Texas A
and m beat Missispi State. But again that also thirty
one to nine. They did what they had to do.

Speaker 4 (15:24):
But again. Missippi State's improvement from last year this year.
You gotta feel good about the road they're on.

Speaker 3 (15:29):
In the coach they've got Oklahoma, you know, can't state
when knew that was going to be ugly. Indiana didn't play.
Alabama beats Vanderbold again. I thought vanderbild once again, even
though Alabama did what they needed to do and had
a late score that makes the score look a little
bit worse than it was. But I thought Vanderbilt was scrappy.
I thought they hung in there and had opportunities. Really,

(15:52):
if Pavia doesn't turn the ball over, yeah, a couple
of times, and I know he turns it over hustling,
So you feel a little bit different trying to but
you remember, and I text y'all when it happened.

Speaker 4 (16:01):
Course, all y'all can think about was a crap and run.

Speaker 3 (16:03):
But when when when he when they needed to keep
matching Alabama, you know, they they scored, Alabama scored, Then
here they come again and they fumbled inside the ten.
And I said, that's a that's a big turnover with
that because now you've now now you've let them get
on that fourteen and what's them? Yeah, so that but
but Bama played good.

Speaker 4 (16:22):
They were good. They got a good team, Yes they do.
Tar Heels didn't do well against Classic.

Speaker 3 (16:27):
They didn't very embarrassing. That's an ugly team. Adam boy,
they're really looking I get it. It's his first year.
But they supposedly well. They brought in like seventy five
new people. That don't mean they're all good, you know,
just because they brought them in. Yeah, look, I got
to go to love it this past summer. Keep an
eye on the Red Vators watching Red Raiders.

Speaker 4 (16:44):
They they're good. Their offense is unbelievab.

Speaker 3 (16:46):
Speaking of spending money, wow, I mean they're opening about it. Hey,
we opened up the pocket book. Their offense comes out
like they're mad, and they try to score a thousand
points as quick as they possible.

Speaker 4 (16:56):
Cat.

Speaker 3 (16:56):
I mean, you'll look up and you're down twenty one nothing,
You're like, hey, we're just stretching. Yeah yeah, and then
you play ketch up the rest of the car because
they finally settled down.

Speaker 4 (17:03):
Yeah, the boy, they tried to jump on you quick
come out and I did.

Speaker 6 (17:06):
I did see that that that piece on on college
game Day.

Speaker 4 (17:10):
I think it was the Houston strength coach.

Speaker 6 (17:12):
I saw that that was pretty a pretty inspiring piece,
and I'm like, oh man, that'd be great man. And
then I checked the score and Texas Tech didn't care
about that. They hoped that he has beaten cancer, but
they didn't.

Speaker 4 (17:24):
They wouldn't have been just no, no, no, what an
inspiring story. Houston. Why are y'all dresses the Owlders? Yeah?
What was that?

Speaker 3 (17:30):
Where does Houston get the blue? They put the Owlders
uniform on that. That's what it looked like. I don't
know what it was because I got to watch and
I said, why are they I mean, I get it,
everybody's got a black uniform and all that, but this
is a color that's not neutral. I thought Warren Moon
was gonna get them fill uh l s U Tennessee, Georgia.

Speaker 4 (17:48):
Tech, Missouri all had to buy.

Speaker 1 (17:51):
Uh so.

Speaker 3 (17:52):
Uh And Michigan, you know, took care of Wisconsin, but
Wisconsin getting better, uh so? Uh Notre Dame took care
of Boise State. So Illinois is still playing well.

Speaker 6 (18:03):
Text Nation with a good one, because Greg says, you know,
the meaningless top twenty five polls are the preseason ones. Yeah,
and Texas started the season number one and Penn State
that started number two, and neither one over are in
the top twenty five.

Speaker 4 (18:16):
Penn State not in the top twenty five.

Speaker 3 (18:19):
By the way, I don't think i've ever seen the
Penn State fans so angry.

Speaker 4 (18:24):
They're they're just so tired of the same routine.

Speaker 3 (18:26):
Yeah, where they're where they're told that they may have
one of the best teams they've hadn't in a while
year down Yere and then they underperform and the fans
are really getting mad about it. And it's funny to
watch people with such bland colors get mad, you know,
so they say, oh, why they're mad?

Speaker 1 (18:44):
This is the Rick Burgess show.

Speaker 4 (18:48):
Boy.

when he started losing his hearing, we started losing him
in the family. He could participate in the conversations, and
you know, he was such a gregarious personality that was
always the life of the party, and you know, to
watch the inability to hear kind of take that part
of his personality away was hard to watch.

Speaker 4 (19:27):
And that's where MD hearing helped.

Speaker 3 (19:29):
Yeah, you know because a lot of times you think, well, yeah,
I would love to get my parent or my grand
grandparent or myself hearing age. But if you've seen the
price is burge I have. That's the reason why MD

that podcast. A new episode out over the weekend as

(21:57):
well new Wednesday Bible stif this week. That archive has
been out since Thursday, so of last week. Just update
some some things that were out over the weekend for
you to get caught up on. So, also, speaking of gratitude,
want to say thank you to all of you for
your very very kind birthday wishes. Had a great birthday weekend, wonderful,

(22:19):
wonderful time. I got to go on a date with
my beautiful wife on Friday night to one of our
favorite restaurants. That was wonderful. So that was a date night.
Then on Saturday, Sherry just you know, she had you
know what, the battle continues at our house, Sherry versus
the deer. Cherry loves flowers. Cherry loves flowers, he loves

(22:42):
a pergola. Sure, he loves all these things. And so
my one of my sons and his wife, we're gonna
come over after church on Sunday. Mom was coming over.
Greg got spends time with Mom. She asked me if
you know I was aware of everything going on with you,
and I was like yeah. She said, well I'm pretty
updated because he comes by and seas metal time and
so so anyway, I got to hear that on my birthday.

(23:06):
By the way, mom gave me a really really cool
gift for my birthday.

Speaker 4 (23:10):
I'm talking about that. Isn't that cool? I told her
that's a good call.

Speaker 3 (23:13):
So you know how people are getting concerned with these
grill brushes that you get these metal fragments and you
can end up, you know, people gotting choked on them.
And so my grill brush is old, so now it's
getting where that potential could be there. And now mom
Ma almost shop online, Yeah, and she'll get some gadgets.

(23:34):
But she found something. If it works the way it's
supposed to it, and it's supposed to be a grill
cleaner that has a battery. It rolls like a like
almost like one of those cement roller where those things
that where they're flatten the roads out of a steam
roller kind of thing, and it's like a steam roller
and it spins. It has none of the metal fragments
and you just you put the batteries in. It's even

(23:55):
got a light on the front and it goes down
your grill and cleans anything and clean.

Speaker 4 (24:00):
Is the group.

Speaker 3 (24:01):
So yeah, yeah, that was it was it called gid up.
That was it, the gide up. And I thought, well, man,
that's I can't wait to use it. So that's and
and so the old gide up. So thank you, Mama.
And and I had. What was great is we I
wanted to you know how you just go. I just

(24:23):
love love a good old grilled hamburger. I just love
So we grilled hamburgers we got, uh, Mama. And you
know because Cherry got the uh recipe from my mom.
It's on Rick's picks. Uh that famous slaw that that
we made with our hamburgers. So Cherry made that. And guys,
I uh we we had that then, you know, had

(24:44):
I love to have chips and French onion deal with
a burger. Uh. We had fresh tomatoes, lettuce, you know,
the purple onion. You got to have all that for
you burger. And they were just gone just I mean, look,
I'm getting a little teary. I think it was just
so good. And I told myself, I just one burger.
Of course I ate two because I knew I was
going to speak someone, but you that was a little
more loaded than I needed to be. But but usually

(25:06):
sneak one more, just a patty. Yeah, I'm hoping there's
one left where you'll on cheese. I decided. I just
asked her, by everybody want cheese or not, I'm always
cheese that I had a big, big and then you
put cheese on the right.

Speaker 4 (25:18):
Then let it melt.

Speaker 3 (25:19):
Yeah, and uh so it turned out great. And but
then Sherry, I told you, I said, but maybe don't
don't worry about a cake. I said, I don't really
eat birthday cake. I don't really want a birthday cake.
She said, no, you're having a birthday cake. And so
she just got a smaller one. And man, I'm sorry
I brought the leftovers in. I'm so sorry. I know

(25:39):
Type two doesn't need it speedy, I know you'll go
crazy with it.

Speaker 4 (25:43):
I laid half of it.

Speaker 3 (25:44):
If you take that, if you take that birthday cake
that I have in there, and you heat it in
the microwave for twelve seconds, twelve and and and it's.

Speaker 4 (25:51):
Got that it's got that butter cream. Yeah, I love
that stuff.

Speaker 3 (25:55):
And I mean, what you're talking good make your head
tickle so good?

Speaker 4 (26:00):
Right there? So anyway, I had one slice of that.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (26:03):
Was there was there any awkwardness because I know that's
the first time you had seen Brody since the hdm
I incident.

Speaker 4 (26:10):
It was, oh, yeah, everything you're talking about.

Speaker 3 (26:13):
When I didn't know this, that when I called him,
when I, you know, was firm about it. That when
I called, he's sitting there with his wife and put
me on speakerphone and I got to talk to cam Tasta.

Speaker 4 (26:24):
She said, how quick he took you off speaker was
hilarious when he realized you were mad.

Speaker 3 (26:29):
He goes, you went right off speaker and he put
it up against his face and she said, I was
over going. I told you, and I said, I heard
you in the background, carammer. She said, I told him
to make sure that TV was working for he left.
Of course, thanks to the you know, vox seats on Friday,
I've got a backup HDMI court now, very kind of them. Yeah,
so so I've got that. So have that in your arsenal.

Speaker 4 (26:48):
So uh and then last night.

Speaker 3 (26:51):
We uh, I had some wonderful people, you know, the
guys last night in Union City actually Troy, Tennessee, but
near Union City and Martin, Tennessee. Okay, do you remember
the machinist. They kept saying I'll see you all week long.
He's like machinist. Yeah, you know, Union City, k y
t M. Baby, I'll see you on something. He comes up,
he's got gifts and uh, and he brought me this card.

(27:24):
Very well, Liken, it lights up, so Travis and Travis
gave me, boy, Travis, thank you gave me a gift
for the pergola. It's a little tiny thing. You can
you know, roast marshmallow zone. It's like a mini fire pit.
And then he said, do you feel about that? I
loved it and I left it out for sherry. And
he said, and also, I got speedy something.

Speaker 4 (27:46):
Get me something, Travis. Okay, Travis, what'd you have? You
got something? So it's that's a nice box.

Speaker 3 (27:56):
It's a nice box. That not a National Wild Live
Turkey Federation.

Speaker 4 (28:01):
Oh okay. And it's a human door.

Speaker 3 (28:04):
Yeah, it's a human door to put it to put
in your cigars, your black and mils. Uh, you know
any kind of tobacco product.

Speaker 8 (28:10):
You don't want that, I'll take it, nobut.

Speaker 4 (28:13):
It's just very nice.

Speaker 8 (28:14):
You can't you can't take her, Yeah, I'll take it.

Speaker 4 (28:18):
You do y'all not agree that that's nice? That is
very nice.

Speaker 3 (28:21):
Really, thank you, if only if you had to use
for it you putt oh, yeah, you puts it.

Speaker 6 (28:29):
Yeah, he's or something very nice. He bought got something
on it looks handmade.

Speaker 4 (28:36):
This is real nice. He's about to drop this. Would
this would look nice at campus, wouldn't it? Really would
it would?

Speaker 11 (28:42):
So?

Speaker 3 (28:42):
Yeah, I made some money, Crystal, but it's yours. I mean,
it's not mine. I mean he told me to get right.

Speaker 4 (28:48):
Yeah that is true here on the side. But he
didn't want to hand it to he did because I'm
picturing it at camp house and look good? Is this
a timp is? Is this it's got the temperature?

Speaker 6 (29:02):
Well you should a humidor I know, but I mean
you don't want to know how cold it is right thermostat.

Speaker 4 (29:09):
Wow, that's a nice one.

Speaker 8 (29:10):
And by the way, you opened that card earlier and
the speaker started, you know, talking singing. The first time
I saw one of those cars, I thought, I, well,
we live in the future. We've arrived. We have cards
that can sing speedy.

Speaker 4 (29:26):
What are you doing, buddy? Even got the cutter in
there for you? Nice cigar? Yes, but you're not taking
if you don't want it, right, that's take it if
it was very kind of him.

Speaker 3 (29:40):
Thank you. The machinist, Baby Machinis is on the base.
What was funny, what was funny last night is how
how in the loop all the guys were, I mean,
they were saying things like, hey, do you mind if
I come around there? I don't want to be a
bip and get a picture and they'd say bip had
one guy said, boy from looks this line bird gonna

(30:00):
see sticks?

Speaker 4 (30:01):
And I was some people thought you were going to
a concert. Yes, yes, we didn't know.

Speaker 3 (30:06):
And and then of course, you know, we had there
was an awkward moment with the pastor that I'll tell you, well, look,
we have a we have we have a fan base
that means business. And you realize k Y t in
there in Union City, Tennessee carried the Rick and Bubba's
show and now this show and if you combine, and
of course we're a very small part of that now

(30:27):
because we're not even a year old yet, twenty years
and so so Paul there, Paul Tingle came over and
hung out with me. Paul got to hang out with Paul,
and they brought I mean, they combined with First Baptist
Church Troy Tennessee and brought about four hundred and fifty
men out.

Speaker 4 (30:45):
LA's night good. It was really nice.

Speaker 3 (30:47):
That's amazing, and so we got to self God do
some incredible things.

Speaker 4 (30:52):
Of course, you know us, we can't go anywhere. I mean,
time's going out.

Speaker 5 (30:56):
Look.

Speaker 4 (30:56):
Our our fan base is intents.

Speaker 3 (30:58):
Yeah, which is the way we oh yeah, intents wouldn't
have any other way. So, you know, uncomfortable moment bobbing
the pastor and some some of the fans.

Speaker 4 (31:08):
That's all right, it's uh, we'll off fight, so uh
we'll be back. So Hunter was the machinist. Who's Travis?
I love that right?

Speaker 1 (31:20):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the man who shaved
thirty minutes off his last road trip.

Speaker 5 (31:39):
Rick Burgess, Yes.

Speaker 3 (31:42):
Sir, yes sir, yes sir, thanks for being with us today. So,
uh ever, updates? Uh?

Speaker 4 (31:50):
Southwest Airlines?

Speaker 7 (31:51):
Have you?

Speaker 4 (31:51):
Have you gotten your check for the skateboard yet?

Speaker 8 (31:54):
So I've gotten multiple like texts from FedEx who's supposed
to be bringing me the check because I evidently I'm
gonna have to sign for it, right okay, And so
they keep texting me every day at you know, ten
fifteen or so, Hey, we're we're are you home?

Speaker 4 (32:11):
We're about to come to your house?

Speaker 8 (32:13):
And I keep saying no, because I'm a normal adult man.
I have a job and I'm not home at ten
fifteen during the day during the week, so most.

Speaker 3 (32:24):
People wouldn't right ten to fifteen. I don't know if
there's a worse time of the day to try to
find anyone.

Speaker 4 (32:30):
They encounted this every day because people go in.

Speaker 8 (32:33):
Yeah, but they keep trying. They keep trying, even though
I said, where can I pick it up? And they
send me the Then they send me the address of
where I can pick it up. But they're gonna keep
trying for three times. They're gonna try three times. Wow,
even though I tell them I'm not gonna You can
try two more times if you want, but ain't nobody
gonna be there?

Speaker 4 (32:52):
Yeah, just save the effort.

Speaker 8 (32:54):
So I don't say it like that because it's text.
That would be hard to that'd be hard.

Speaker 4 (32:57):
To text you text that.

Speaker 8 (32:59):
I don't know how you do a Cajun accent. I
don't know why I did a Cajun accent. Yeah, so
that's I supposedly it is at the place today. Okay,
so I'm gonna it's real it's in a real convenient
spot and it's on my way to nothing to nothing,
and so I'm going to try to get that done

(33:19):
before I pick up my kids.

Speaker 3 (33:21):
And usually on those kinds of things where you'll have
to pick it up, the sad point is you'll go
to all the trouble, you'll pick it up, and then
someone will rob you and take it from you.

Speaker 4 (33:31):
At least were on a swivel when you got your car.

Speaker 6 (33:34):
Be looking me where you're surrounding right the place you
have to go. It couldn't be further from here.

Speaker 3 (33:40):
No, ye, and Speedy, I'm just these are things that
when I encounter people onver the weekend, they wanted me
to update.

Speaker 4 (33:46):
Okay, so there's one. So we'll see this. Speedy, Have
you heard from your homeown Association?

Speaker 7 (33:50):
No?

Speaker 3 (33:51):
I have not. Right where you traded like a hero
in the code?

Speaker 4 (33:57):
Well, I mean, were you speaking for the people?

Speaker 5 (34:00):
You know?

Speaker 6 (34:00):
It's like people start coming out of their homes, you know,
and and walk in the streets you know, and like
tell me what it was like to say that, and
did it feel good?

Speaker 12 (34:11):
You know?

Speaker 4 (34:11):
But no, they were all in disbelief.

Speaker 6 (34:14):
They're like, wait a minute, we saw you working on
your trailer was that the incident was that what you
were talking about, and and they just couldn't believe it.
And I have gotten a lot of emails from people
that are not just in that subdivision but around the
country that are like, yeah, they've kind of most have
lost their way. And I think the letter could have

(34:34):
been written a different way, you know, instead of saying, hey,
you just can't store something there. It's a really lazy
approach to have a system where people were right around
and just take pictures and they don't know the situation.
I would think you maybe take note and go, hey,
i'll come back, you know, a couple of days.

Speaker 4 (34:53):
Later it's still there.

Speaker 6 (34:55):
Then then then we'll send you something or you know,
repeat offenders, people that are defiant to the rules, that
are bad neighbors, that are a nuisance. Those are the
people you probably ought to focus on, not just riding
down the road taking pictures of things and you have
no idea of the situation. Well, the reason why I
think that's just a lazy approach to doing things.

Speaker 3 (35:13):
Well, let me let me tell you what I remember.
You know, we don't know much, but we know people.
The reason why, in what you're sending is one hundred
percent right. But the problem is, if you abide by
those correct standards, there's not enough that happens, and these
people are going to well I'm not getting tell nobody
what to do, right, so then they they got they
just standing enough. There's not enough of.

Speaker 4 (35:32):
That justify right. How about this.

Speaker 3 (35:35):
There's not that many people in your neighborhood that do
things that are going to hurt everybody's property value.

Speaker 4 (35:40):
Right, It just doesn't like there's one. There's one, right,
and just use.

Speaker 3 (35:44):
The places that you need that kind of help are
never going to agree to, right, Yeah.

Speaker 6 (35:48):
Yeah, And look, I mean I've ridden through neighborhoods that
that have h O A and that don't and and
and a lot of cases you can tell. I mean
there's some oh yeah, there's some things you know they
serve purpose. But I think in this situation, uh, just
riding through a neighborhood and taking pictures, which apparently that's
what they were doing, Uh, is that that's not a

(36:10):
good approach because you don't really know. I mean, if
you would have known, you would know that I don't
store there.

Speaker 4 (36:15):
I was just working on it. Well, we're glad that
we don't live in an h O D.

Speaker 3 (36:20):
Yeah, because if I lived in your homeowners association, Sherry
would have never had her purgle.

Speaker 4 (36:24):
Yeah, you know so, so now I could see it
over the fence.

Speaker 3 (36:27):
I'm glad that we live. I'm glad that we live
out on the edge. Yeah, in free country, in our
free country.

Speaker 6 (36:33):
But no, I have not heard from them or the
management company or anybody.

Speaker 3 (36:37):
Uh they push you on your property. Had a lot
of people asked me about that last night. A lot
of people asked about skateboard man in there about how
about people really listen?

Speaker 5 (36:47):
They do?

Speaker 4 (36:49):
And and I and I love that.

Speaker 3 (36:50):
It's a you know when when I'm sitting there and
somebody brings me a gift for the pergola. By the way,
Travis was just uh that was a that was just
a card. So the car didn't get that card. So
the card and the gifts aren't together. I'm sorry, so
different people. Yes, so Travis was the card.

Speaker 4 (37:08):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (37:09):
Travis Hunter is the machinist who actually gave the gifts.

Speaker 4 (37:13):
Thank you, honey.

Speaker 3 (37:13):
Okay, thanks for clearing that up. Appreciate a lot of
those coming at me. Yeah, it was a lot, it was,
but I loved it.

Speaker 4 (37:21):
It was great.

Speaker 3 (37:22):
But but yeah, so when when people are doing that
and then people say, hey, idall ever get his check?
They speed heard. Let me tell you speed having things
happening with homeown association, I might know so that that's
what we want. It's so encouraging for all of you
to do that. Had a young kid stand in front
of me. He looked like me when I played the league,
and he and he told me he thought that he

(37:42):
could block.

Speaker 4 (37:43):
Well.

Speaker 3 (37:45):
I talked, I talked to a many seventy five, and
he said that he thinks he can handle me. And
his daddy stood behind him so proud, and I said,
to you think you can block? He goes, I think
I could block you? And I said, okay, you know what.
I love that confidence. Now I'm about to get in
the stance over here. Yeah back, but go, But how
about this?

Speaker 4 (38:01):
He didn't. He didn't back off of it. He had courage.
It was fantastic.

Speaker 3 (38:05):
And and then of course there was the does everybody
remember the woman who emailed and said, is there any
way that I could somehow came and meet you?

Speaker 4 (38:17):
Yeah? Yeah, I remember she was gonna have y'all clean up.
That's right, no, you said that. You said up.

Speaker 3 (38:27):
People also asked me about the crap run which we're
about to we'll coverage today. We got yeah, we got
full coverage from that. But anyway we come back, I'll
tell you what happened. You know, it's we really do live.
You know, Shakespeare had it best when he said a
comedy of errors, things fell fell together on that particular
thing that you think there's no way this could have happened.
But now, first of all, I'm going to completely acknowledge

(38:50):
that my travel schedule and everything was a little bit fluid,
and I did not remember telling them that there might
be a chance to see me before everything started.

Speaker 4 (39:01):
I didn't remember that, okay, And first out, well, you
know that one's slip, you mind.

Speaker 3 (39:08):
It's a hard thing when somebody's asking you to do
something that you really aren't in charge of. You know,
when you go into a place to speak, you're their
guest and they have everything arranged the way they want
to do it and how they want to run it.
So and now I don't want to go Debbie down here,
I really don't. But you know, since the Charlie Kirk

(39:31):
thing and some of the other stuff that's gone on now,
but I mean, sadly it's necessary. Security now is through
the roof. You know, this is a new experience. I
remember I told you it started being normal. It's now
even intensified, you know, because what we believe and the

(39:51):
things that we say. At one time people would just
disagree with you. And now if they think that you're
saying something they don't like, the new thing is we might.

Speaker 4 (39:59):
Try to hurt you.

Speaker 3 (40:00):
Are killing yeah, sadly so so there's not as much
freedom when you come on the ground, especially.

Speaker 4 (40:07):
If you're gonna be preaching, sadly to just kind of
wander around. So that led to that led to a
kind of a bit of.

Speaker 3 (40:14):
A socially offered moment s medium, I'm sorry because you're
already heart.

Speaker 4 (40:19):
Yeah, a little bit. I'm seeing where it's going. All right,
So top the hour, we'll be right back.

Speaker 1 (40:26):
This is the Rick Burchers Show.

Speaker 5 (40:40):
Listen up, you know.

Speaker 4 (40:48):
You gotta find.

Speaker 1 (40:54):
The voice of reason in an unreasonable world. The Rick
Burchers Show.

Speaker 4 (41:00):
Erica, how about it?

Speaker 3 (41:01):
A brand new iur speedy greg Ander here, brand new
Iour Rand you day Rand, new week and we're thankful
you here weekamp and weekend still to come. The crap run.
Did Greg run the biggest turnout they've ever had. Thanks
for all of you that came out to meet Speedy
and Greg and held the Nieces Foundation.

Speaker 4 (41:21):
We have video and audio of that coming up. Don't
miss it. Also, Dickey and Admire checks in again.

Speaker 3 (41:32):
We heard from Dicky a week ago, then on Friday,
and then today after telling us he was done with
the Tide, but he's back and and he said he
never doubt it. You never left, you never dot. So
we'll hear from him.

Speaker 4 (41:47):
Probably he was faking it to motivate him and those
of you.

Speaker 3 (41:50):
We got a huge audience in Missouri. The Nadmire's likeliheaded
your way. Oh buddy, I can only here that goes.
So we'll talk about that coming up. So here's what
happened in Troy, Tennessee. This was interesting.

Speaker 4 (42:04):
So took off after my birthday celebration. Flew by a forty.

Speaker 3 (42:10):
Five minute flight to keep your birthday hand on up
to the Kentucky Tennessee line. Okay, so as we're landing,
I didn't think about this. So you've got Union City,
Troy and Martin, Tennessee the home of Tennessee Martin and
they're all kind of right there near each other. So
when I land, I meet some really great guys that
you know, are big fans of the show there at

(42:32):
the airport and they're picking me up, part of the
security team, and they said, well, you know what, you
know who you just just missed?

Speaker 4 (42:37):
Who landed like right before you? And I said no.

Speaker 3 (42:40):
They said Ty Simpson's mama, hm, the quarterback at Alabama
who's from Martin, Tennessee.

Speaker 4 (42:45):
And I was like, oh really, I said that great?
And boy, what an impressive young man.

Speaker 3 (42:49):
Wow, he's a player. Yes, he is the real sling
can he Boy was great? I mean, just he runs
the offense, he's athletic, he can throw. Of course, after
week one, the tied bay wanted to pull him right,
that's right, but now, of course he should be talked
about the Heisman.

Speaker 4 (43:05):
But anyway, but I thought he.

Speaker 6 (43:07):
Even in the game they lost, his numbers were pretty good. Yeah,
he's a good player, yea good great player.

Speaker 3 (43:11):
So and stayed in the program, left last year and
started So I thought to myself, how odd was this?
I was, I'm kind of in that world. And of
course I remember have I I may now have ever
talked to this I actually played a little ball. No, yes,
And when I played for Troy, I remember I remember
having to do a bus ride because you know, we

(43:32):
were Division two. A bus ride from the bottom of
Alabama to the top of Tennessee. That's a long buster.
That's a long, one long bus. That was the time
too that I got in trouble with chan Gaily because
he told us all that we were to wear ties
when we traveled, and I was a little miserable on
the defensive bus and got got in big trouble because

(43:54):
I said I was hot, and I was told by
Coach Gaily and the staff that I was to keep
my tie, and.

Speaker 4 (44:00):
I took my shirt off and kept my towel. I
was making shirt specific with the town. That did not go.

Speaker 3 (44:06):
Technically, I guess I got to spend the following week
with the strength and conditioning.

Speaker 4 (44:11):
But anyway, nobody thought that. Nobody thought that was as
funny as I did. But anyway, they should have been
more specific, right.

Speaker 3 (44:18):
So anyway, so we're there, we get over to can
I say this the reason why you saw ty Simpson's
mom is that's where ty Simpson's dad's the head coach,
correct Martin at Tennessee, Martin. So I guess where they're from.
So that's kind of she was going back home. That's correct,
going back home, and probably a proud mama should be
a proud mama. So anyway, I was, I was walking,

(44:42):
you know, to the truck. We headed over. Security team said, look,
we're going to go straight in to you know where,
where where we want you to be. Relax, go over
your notes, be back to get you for the service. Hey,
we've got the afterwards, we got the books, and we
got it set up out there and we're going to
tell her about how to go by so you can
meet everybody. So on the front end, we just need

(45:03):
you back here to the front pew up up on
the pulpit when you speak, back down to us back
after where you can meet everybody, and when we've got
a secure team set up there.

Speaker 4 (45:13):
I'm like okay. So so I noticed pretty quick. I
didn't really think about it.

Speaker 3 (45:18):
I noticed that the pastor comes back to say hello,
and he has a name tag on and it says
Rick and then underneath not Burgess.

Speaker 4 (45:29):
Wow, it's just so hectic at the beginning, I'm not
I thought, haha, that's funny.

Speaker 3 (45:34):
So we we go through, you know, yeah, and I'm
thanking him, you know, for for allowing me that opportunity,
because I don't take that lightly. So when it's when
we had a great response from the men, What a
great night of worship. The praise and worship guys were fantastic.
We saw a lot of response, I think all of
us as men. It was kind of a there's a
revival building in in men right now in our country,

(45:55):
which I think is wonderful. Just how God gave us
this strategy back during a pandemic, which was you know,
it was kind of a weird time. And now to
see it, you know, five years later and what's happening
and watching these testimonies just incredible, high challenge, high equipping,
high challenge, high equipping. So anyway, so get ready to

(46:16):
meet everybody. They've got, you know, men don't running the
rain out there. And then some of our thirty one
and forty day devotionals and the men are coming by.
We've got a great organized line. I'm hearing great things
about the show. I'm hearing great things about the Man Church.
There's churches there that are doing Man Church all over
Tennessee and just having a great time. A lot of
orange shirts and hats, a lot of big orange And

(46:38):
the pastor kind of comes back around and he goes, yeah,
I had an interesting situation before the service today. I
said really, and he said, yeah, that's why I'm wearing
this name thing. And his name is Rick, and he said,
but I put underneath not burgess. I said, well, what happened? Well,
do you remember the email? Yeah, the lady that said
she was coming out right, Well, I said, they're my

(47:00):
be a chance that if he came over before the service,
I might be, you know, out there in the lobby
or whatever. I didn't I didn't know. Well, apparently she
she remembered that, probably because I told her that's probably one.
And so one of the guys that's on staff comes
back to the pastor, whose name is Rick, and says, hey,
there's a woman here that wants to meet with you

(47:22):
and talk to you about something. He goes, you know,
being a pastor, He's like, okay, and he tries to find,
you know, one of the women that are helping so,
you know, just so I'll.

Speaker 4 (47:30):
Talk to her.

Speaker 3 (47:31):
Sure, And so she comes back there and starts talking
to him, and he realizes pretty quick that she doesn't
want to talk to the pastor. She thinks he's me
back to her calling this right, and so he's like,
I realized pretty quick. I said, I'm sorry, ma'am, I'm
not Rick Burgess. And he was a handsome guy, so
I didn't really mind, you know. I mean, you know,

(47:53):
now I've got better hair than him, but I mean
other than that. But but he he's so he said,
I've had to put on my name tag. I'm not
Rick Burgess even though my name is Rick, I'm a Rick.
And so then I felt back because now I'm speedy,
and I'm like, oh, she came all the way over there.
Not only did she not see me, she ends up

(48:14):
thinking the pastors me and creates this awkward moment. So
the guys are coming by, and what a great husband.
He comes up to me and he says, hey, introduced himself,
said with my wife was the one that wanted to
meet you, and she actually tried to come over. I said,
I know, I just talked to the pastor, and he
got to laughing about that. Well, the line, thank God,
praise God, you know, credit to all you guys and

(48:34):
people you know loving the show. The line is I
can tell by the length of the line. I'm gonna
be here a while. So I said, well, how far
away do you live? He said two minutes. I said,
we'll go get her.

Speaker 4 (48:45):
I said, I promise you, I'm gonna be here another hour. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (48:48):
And so so they had a small child who's already
gone to bed, so he went to relieve her, and
then she came over and I actually.

Speaker 4 (48:56):
Got to meet her. Oh so that that so she
was everything cleaned up or she got.

Speaker 3 (49:01):
Well, no, this is what would have bothered you that
you can come in. That was Greg's line. I said, Greg,
tell me. Greg told me to tell you where the
dishes are. But no, and I'll hold the dustan this
is what would have bothered you. So there's a big line, okay,
And they've got it super organized this church first Baptist

(49:21):
Troy did a great job. I see her standing back there,
up against the wall, and she won't come up because
she doesn't want to be, you know, a bi And
and so she waits till every single person has gone
through and then comes over and and I mean, I
kept thinking, you get her, she don't.

Speaker 4 (49:39):
Have to do that, and but but but she did,
and and the good ones. That's quite the fort Greg.
And the good news is that she was last year.
She could help us clean up. But I'm glad you're here.
We got here. Here's a mom. So I know for
you that would have been a tough run. Yeah, just
watching her. You know what I would have done? What
about when I spot I said, that's since she's the
only woman here, that's got to be her.

Speaker 3 (49:59):
Yeah, I tell you what I would have done. If
I was the pastor, I would have just acted like
I was you. I'd have felt so bad, Yes, you
know what I'm saying. I'd have just been real vague, Yes, yes,
I really would.

Speaker 5 (50:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (50:10):
By the way, yeah, I didn't know that that Ty
Simpson's dad is the head football coach at U T. Martin,
so which has got to be weird. I mean he's,
you know, playing in this huge game over the weekend
and he's coaching.

Speaker 4 (50:20):
And so that would that has to be tough. Yeah,
well that it's part of it.

Speaker 3 (50:22):
So, So anyway, thanks to all of you guys last night,
and Pastor, I'm sorry about that, but it it went
really really well, And thanks for the gifts, and.

Speaker 4 (50:32):
I got all those back to the guys today.

Speaker 3 (50:34):
And if you're wondering, you know what's going on next,
you just simply go to themanschurch dot com. Looks like
west Point, Mississippi your next first Presbyterian Steve Wright coming
to see you on the eleven. So coming up to
see you this Saturday, five thirty. Uh there in west Point, Mississippi.

Speaker 4 (50:57):
So you guys, get out and enjoy Steve. You have
a great time.

Speaker 1 (51:00):
This is the Rick Burchase Show, the man who taught
the world to say, couldn't care less? Rick Burchase.

Speaker 3 (51:22):
All right, you need thanks for being with US America
simplysafe dot com slash big vox. So yeah, if you've
got a security system that is reactive, okay, that's better nothing,
but it's not as good as having one that's proactive.
With simply Safe. It's one thing to say, oh there's

(51:43):
been a break in. There's been a break in, my
doors beat in, my windows are burst, but it's quite
another to go they never broke in because my security
system saw them when they came on the property, and
my AI cameras engaged at professional monitors who then began
to engage the intruders and ran.

Speaker 4 (52:01):
Them off and call the law to them.

Speaker 10 (52:04):
How about that.

Speaker 3 (52:05):
How about proactive get on down and if you'd like
to find out more, we can get you fifty percent
off a new system by going to simplysafe dot com
slash big vox. There's also a link at Rick burgesshow
dot com under the sponsors button. There's no safe like
simply safe dot com slash big vox. Get a proactive

(52:28):
security system today. Dion Sanders well, Dion struggling.

Speaker 4 (52:35):
Greg, let me ask.

Speaker 3 (52:36):
Let me ask you this question, because you have the
heart that can tell us. I know Dion Sanders has
serious health issues.

Speaker 5 (52:44):
We know this.

Speaker 3 (52:46):
Is this latest thing him trying to get out of
coach in Colorado. We can't that's on the table.

Speaker 5 (52:55):
You can't.

Speaker 4 (52:56):
Well, we didn't see them. Rick the man had his
bladder removed. I know that. But what I'm saying is,
what is he hurting and having more trouble because of
their current it's not helping. I'll say that.

Speaker 3 (53:07):
If they were, if they were undefeated, would we be
hearing about everything and how bad it is?

Speaker 4 (53:12):
They might be hurting as bad. You're saying, well, you know,
winning cures everything, but do you know I mean, and
I know his.

Speaker 3 (53:19):
Health situation is serious, don't don't misunderstand me, but it's
all the same. Well, yeah, y'all can't really get on
me because I haven't a bladder out. And and when
I go to somewhere else, I'm coming coach.

Speaker 4 (53:32):
That kind of blows that up.

Speaker 5 (53:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (53:34):
And I've I've got I've got part, you know, my
limbs getting cut off. I'm you know, it's it's.

Speaker 4 (53:39):
It's only we can this story.

Speaker 3 (53:43):
And I wish I would say it was not my
first thought, but it was. And because you know, saying
how I'm gonna get up, like you said, his sons
are gone, Travis is gone, and he's now he's now realized,
my goodness, I'm just the coach at Colorado now. And
and it was it was a lot of fun for
a while. I got my cowboy hat on. Everybody likes me.

(54:04):
Of course we're not we're not winning, uh, And we were.

Speaker 4 (54:08):
We came out. It was electrifying. Everybody was in. We
got prime time and and now we did. We can't
quite beat anybody.

Speaker 3 (54:16):
You know, and we get to watch them every Saturday
night at eight o'clock, you know, right, and every game
is like you know, how you if you ever you know,
you commit to something, and you're all hyped about it,
and then you're still there. Yeah, and then this day
after day after day remb when what perfect example we
brought it up earlier.

Speaker 4 (54:32):
I mean I thought p J.

Speaker 3 (54:33):
Flegg was just gonna come on glue getting the coach
at Minnesota. I mean, you would have thought it was
a great thing that we were rowing the boat. So
of course still there and still still not winning. Still rows.
So you're insinuating I'm not in.

Speaker 4 (54:46):
An urban Meyer. I got that off the text line.

Speaker 3 (54:48):
Yeah urban Meyer. Two up, guys, sweedy, you don't want
you doctor straight up? You know you know I'm not
even get started on urban. There's no doubt what that was.

Speaker 6 (54:58):
I know, Peter Rick, he's he's he's got a quarter
partty on the sideline and he's limping around. And then
the latest news here that there he's going gonna be
taken in for for more blood clock possibility. I'm just saying,
they know how you can fake that? Well, no, no,
all these health issues are real. What I'm saying is,
why didn't he just say therefore I can no longer coach? Well, yeah,

(55:18):
but now the bladder. The bladder thing was, you know,
it was pre season, but it was before they kind
of had already started.

Speaker 3 (55:24):
I understand what we're still suffering them if his health
issues allowed him to coach. I'm just saying that now
that we're gonna the more we lose, the worst the
health's gonna get.

Speaker 6 (55:34):
Yeah, and they got. Iwill state next. I think they
lost this past weekend the TCU.

Speaker 4 (55:37):
Y'all. He's having to walk around on the sideline with
like a sock on. Yeah, one shoe off. Okay, Look
look look I didn't know where the was.

Speaker 8 (55:47):
It'll be on that screen, not the screen behind you,
but you can see he's got just a sock foot here.

Speaker 4 (55:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (55:54):
Well he's got a lot of trouble guy. I'm not
saying he doesn't. They've lost some clothes oness too.

Speaker 4 (55:58):
They think he's faking He gave up two toes because
he's faking it. Really No, No, I'm not.

Speaker 3 (56:04):
Saying, can we get him some kind of special shoot,
he don't have to go sock for everybody?

Speaker 4 (56:08):
You know win.

Speaker 3 (56:10):
Yes, I'd like for everybody to say, Rick, I'm willing
to hear the truth because if you are all tillity,
I gotta tell you I'm only seeing one more win.

Speaker 4 (56:18):
On his schedule.

Speaker 6 (56:19):
Really, he's got Iowa State, then Utah, then Arizona, then
West Virginia, then Arizona State in Kansas State. Kansas State
might be his only win. What they're pretty good, they
are can be good. Maybe Arizona one.

Speaker 4 (56:35):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (56:36):
I mean, I don't know a whole lot about those programs.
But West Virginia possibly. All right, So here's what I'm saying.
I don't think they're like, here's where not there. They're
there with them at the bottom of the The health
issues are real.

Speaker 3 (56:49):
I'm not saying that what has to be an opportunity
if they do have this problem, But this is a
good opportunity. The health issues. The health issue will give
him his ticket out. If he was winning, the health
issues would not be an obstacle that he can't overcome.

(57:09):
It's now going to be an obstacle that he has
to step down because they're not doing well. If they
were winning, the health issues would be Look, hey man,
this ain't gonna stop me. What we're gonna hear now
is look, there's nothing that I can't continue like this.
But well, and to be fair, how about the pressure
of how about the pressure I'm dealing with all these
physical problems and we're not good, you know what I'm saying. Yeah,

(57:30):
maybe just the pressure of that's my mad I feel
like crap anyway, me being here. I mean, have you
ever have you ever finished it would be worth it
if we were winning. Have you ever felt you didn't
really feel great but everything you were doing was working?
And then I don't feel great and everything I'm doing
is not working. It's a different not feel great, That's
all I'm saying. I don't think so it's a bad look. Ill,

(57:53):
of course if you're if you're Colorado, while you went
all in on on Prime and now he's real sick
he is.

Speaker 8 (58:00):
They've got to depends. It depends. Sponsored tent on the
sideline there.

Speaker 3 (58:05):
Yeah, yeah, so he's faking it, not faking it. I'm
telling you. The losing is making this a difference. That
you understand what you're saying. Somemost like you you get
hurt or you get tweaked in the game. If you win,
it doesn't hurt as much.

Speaker 8 (58:20):
I get what your Yeah, the cowboy hat and the
sunglasses seems so far away now.

Speaker 4 (58:28):
Yes, you know, and I enjoyed watching him coach I
did he's done a good job? Yep, well yes, I
love to this point. So that's how we're covering this story.
We haven't read the other I saw the I saw
him get interviewed. I actually watched the interview. The first thing.
I thought, this is his way. What what did he say?

(58:52):
What was the update on the blood clots? He said?
But we never mentioned that.

Speaker 3 (58:55):
He said, I'm in a lot of pain. And he
said for some reason, I'm getting blood clots against nobody
knows why.

Speaker 4 (59:00):
Gotta go check on it. Wow, So I know I
saw it. We finally got got to that as the
bed was rolling in right. No, I'm saying, the doctors
are going advise and step down. Yeah, no, with a
soccer foot they're gonna have.

Speaker 1 (59:17):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. He was told good
luck finding a job that would pay him to be
the class cloud.

Speaker 3 (59:38):
Rick Burgess, we're back, Thank you very much for being
with US America recapping the weekend, having a blast. We'll
get h we'll get to unscreenedphone calls today.

Speaker 13 (59:50):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (59:50):
We we have a recap on the crap run coming up.
We also may hear from Dicky Nadmyre today. After Obama's
big win and again over the weekend against Mandy. Never
thought I would say those words as if that was
a big game, but it was, and the times we're
living in it was, it was, and Bama got it done.

Speaker 4 (01:00:11):
Hey Burger.

Speaker 3 (01:00:20):
By the way, someone on text Nation, how do I
send an email to? Hey Bird, J Birge, Rick at
Rick Burgessshow dot com. And if you're ever wondering about
emailing and knowing what to do, just go to Rick
Burgesshow dot com. Look under the team and you'll see
everybody's email address. You see everybody's Instagram account, and you'll

(01:00:40):
see everybody's ex account all right there, and you can
follow us and you can email us directly. So Rick
at Rick Burgesshow dot com, Hey Bird, Heybirge, need some
help from speedy. I'm forty minutes into the message at church,
there's no end in sight. The guest speaker is so
monotone and just kind of flat reads his notes a lot,

(01:01:05):
tries to say things that are clever or humorous, but
they're not, every one of them falling flat. Oh, blessing Lord,
he's not theologically wrong. Don't misunderstand me. I'm sure he's
a great guy. Yeah, that being said, when he tries
to make clever statements, it's making me physically cringe and
look down. I can't even look up. I don't know
where to look. I'm getting hot. Uh could you please

(01:01:27):
ask Speedy or Andy Blanks? Is this second hand?

Speaker 5 (01:01:30):
It is?

Speaker 14 (01:01:31):
Now?

Speaker 4 (01:01:31):
Did he send that email during service? I think so? Okay,
oh well he did. Yeah, I'm looking at what he said.
It was eleven twenty yesterday, right, he's in the certain way.

Speaker 3 (01:01:44):
Yeah, yeah, that uncomfortable. Yeah, that might be a little bit.
I think, can't look keeps looking down. He's physically hot.

Speaker 4 (01:01:52):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, it's it's a terrible feeling because understanding.
Don't think I enjoy this. I don't. I don't. So
that is second hand. That's that's all the same version
of it.

Speaker 3 (01:02:03):
He's struggling, You're uncomfortable, You're like you wanted to end
and you've become that person and you're not.

Speaker 4 (01:02:09):
You're just sitting there about it. You know, you're just
within rain.

Speaker 3 (01:02:13):
I will I will tell you this too. If you're
gonna be, if you're gonna speak, if you try to
go clever and do jokes.

Speaker 5 (01:02:20):
But I mean.

Speaker 3 (01:02:22):
Sounds like this is a super guy sounds like it's
theologically he said he was fine. He just not a
lot of personality and not people that don't have a
lot of personality trying to trying to go jokes and
clever comments. Maybe that shouldn't be the way he should go.
But he also says he's moneo tone and reads his notes.
I wonder it may be new to speaking. I don't know,

(01:02:42):
by the way, I didn't. I didn't even tell you
all this. I fell flat big time on one when
I was in Texas.

Speaker 4 (01:02:49):
What was that not last? That was last weekend, wasn't it?
Not the one just passed? But when you went with
Andy and Rich and I was.

Speaker 3 (01:02:54):
In some Texas A and M fans and of course
they're doing great. And I made the Texas eight and
four comment, Joe, it felt real flat. Oh, not even
a chuckle, not even a chuckle out a chuckle. I said,
you know, take a m y'all know, I mean, you look, hey, y'all,

(01:03:14):
y'all been there, you do, I mean, you'll change your
name from Texas A and M to Texas eight and
four flat, lad, nothing Zip. I had second hand embarrassment
by myself, right. But now now back to they think
they got.

Speaker 4 (01:03:27):
Kind of angry.

Speaker 6 (01:03:28):
I don't know what to do back to this guy
email and now, what you can do is you turn
from embars to where you start pulling for him, like
let's go come on and you get all in.

Speaker 4 (01:03:39):
Does that help? He does it?

Speaker 3 (01:03:40):
Does that like taking asprom with a headache? Yeah, that
interial start pinching my arm pulling for him though that
stretches me. Yeah, no, I'd rather separate. And one thing
that he does, did he become the speaker?

Speaker 2 (01:03:53):
Right?

Speaker 7 (01:03:54):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (01:03:55):
If that's awful, it's awful you've taken Yeah, yeah, hey birds,
hay birds again. That's one That's one reason why I
have Now I can, I can host and do stand stuff.
But one thing I can when I get up on
stage and do that, I couldn't do that because my
mind to taking of the other people out there that

(01:04:15):
are embarrassed from me.

Speaker 9 (01:04:17):
So that's so I think I wonder.

Speaker 3 (01:04:19):
How many people have firsthand slash, second hand, maybe a
third hand.

Speaker 4 (01:04:22):
It's crazy time it gets back to you. Yeah, I
think it make it back. I think that may be thirty.
Like when you see all the face, you're like, who
has secondhand? For me?

Speaker 3 (01:04:33):
I know, here's what I love to when I was
up there on that before when it died. Yeah, have
you ever I've only spoke in public a few times.
It was pretty bad. They'll come in and go, I
always need about forty five minutes, and I'll sudden you
look and you're out of all your notes. Send us
fifteen minutes.

Speaker 4 (01:04:49):
And you're like, oh, I got thirty minutes ago. Any question,
Q and A.

Speaker 8 (01:04:58):
I'll never forget the time you were talking in at
that like small fund raiser with a bunch of old
ladies at some country at some country club and you
came out hot and you're like, my brother, You're like,
you ripped on Rick, and they're like it was hilarious.

Speaker 4 (01:05:12):
Bombed big on that. That was not my crowd.

Speaker 3 (01:05:15):
That was that.

Speaker 4 (01:05:18):
Terrible time. I only speaking events for people are drinking
right right.

Speaker 10 (01:05:22):
That does hell?

Speaker 4 (01:05:23):
That hells because then you ain't got to be real good.
Yeah uh uh heyd for bringing that. Gosh, that was
I start bringing that up like you bring up my
key chains. That's your key chain. It is not my crowd.

Speaker 3 (01:05:40):
Does did he now admire remind anyone else of Randy
Quage's character in Major League or is it just me?

Speaker 4 (01:05:47):
Love. He's one of the up in the in the stand.

Speaker 3 (01:05:52):
Okay, you're right, forgot maybe yeah, the bigger part love
the show, guys. You guys are doing great. God bless you.

Speaker 4 (01:05:59):
That was That's funny. I've never thought of that. That's
a new thought. Right.

Speaker 3 (01:06:03):
You know, I don't have time to tell how I
feel about it because I've never thought about it before. Right,
I'm trying to picture him maybe yeah, hey Bird, Hey, Birge.
I just want to reach out and say that now
this is Look. I know a lot of you been
through this and this is just real right here, and
we talked about it. Here we are in month ten
of the new show. Just want to reach out and

(01:06:24):
say I listen to Rick and Bubba from ninety seven
till the end, thank you very much. Tried the new show,
did not like it at first, so I stopped listening.
Then I said, I need to go back and give
this another listen. Now I'm in love with it. I
love the Rick Birders show, loved the new format. It's
really good. Glad to be back listening to you guys.
May God continue to bless each and every one of
you and your families. Back in the loop, thankful to

(01:06:47):
be back. Awesome, well, Mark, welcome back.

Speaker 4 (01:06:49):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (01:06:49):
So if okay, so words out maybe the people that
just not because I wouldn't be listening, But if you
thought the show so coming out of the game, give
another look.

Speaker 4 (01:06:58):
But we had to find our feed.

Speaker 3 (01:07:00):
We had done the same thing, you know, a few
a few changes on the team, you know, Greenwood and
don Juan. But but you know, for the most part,
you know, I mean, Adler and Speedy had been part
of Ricking Bubba for seventeen.

Speaker 4 (01:07:17):
Years, eighteen years and you were rig Greg, Greg, Greg
and Adler.

Speaker 3 (01:07:21):
You've been there, you know for what thirty of the
thirty one uh and and so you know, so when
you start, we thought it wouldn't be that big of
an adjustment. We really didn't because you know, I mean, people,
there were times we had to do the show, you know,
with just the four of us and things, but it was.

Speaker 4 (01:07:39):
But it was different. It was different.

Speaker 3 (01:07:42):
So we had to kind of find our rhythm, our
rhythm too. And I know, you know, you don't know,
am I allowed.

Speaker 4 (01:07:47):
To like the new show?

Speaker 2 (01:07:48):
You know?

Speaker 3 (01:07:48):
And yeah, and then some of you broke up with us,
and then you know, you kind of miss us. You know,
we're kind of got old girl. You look on Instagram.
Now we're still hanging out having a good time. You're like,
my goodness, they got a tan over something.

Speaker 4 (01:07:59):
Yeah, you know, yeah, next thing, you know. Uh, heybirds,
hey birds, thank you? Mark.

Speaker 3 (01:08:07):
All right now, now this now we're getting a little
deep here. What My son went to Noah's Arc exhibit
in Kentucky this weekend and said there were dinosaurs on
the arc. He said he'd never heard of that in
our Southern Methodist church growing up. I wondered if you
could walk out the explanation or why they're on the
arc as a man who has studied the Bible more

(01:08:28):
than us, Well, I don't know about that. And uh
and we respect your opinion.

Speaker 4 (01:08:33):
Well, thank you for that.

Speaker 3 (01:08:34):
If you've addressed this before, I apologize we have. But
what what the Creation Museum is speculating on is there
there is a way that dinosaurs could have survived the
flood if they were put on the arc as juveniles
or babies small not their full size. Of course, you know,

(01:08:55):
there is some issues on how quick did they grow.
I mean, you know, there on that arc a while,
but but still, you know, you don't know how much
it would have grown over that time. But that's what
they're suggesting because you know there but there's also a
theory that dinosaurs, you know, were even on the earth
before human beings were created. You know, you know, when

(01:09:19):
you get into this age of the Earth, the age
of the Earth, and then when did this creation you
know recap we get from Moses in Genesis. Does that
mean that's when the earth started to But there's also
indications that the earth was was was in another form.

(01:09:40):
There was no life, There was a darkness over the water,
and then then God said let there be light. Well,
does that mean that it existed, you know, in some form,
even maybe with dinosaurs and stuff before human beings. We're
over here now, we're getting to the end of our
study of Job, and you're gonna see Job. When God
gives his resume, there seems to be two creatures he presents,

(01:10:02):
especially one of them that seemed to be dinosaurs. So
that's what got has got people going away in a minute,
maybe dinosaurs. Had Job ever seen a dinosaur? Are is
God just saying and all the things I've ever done,
I'm gonna show you the resume. I don't know the
answer to that. But what you saw there, your son
saw there is the the the answers in Genesis people

(01:10:22):
and ken Ham Uh. They their theory is that dinosaurs
were on the arc and the only way we all
know that could have happened because of their size, would
be if they were put on his juveniles.

Speaker 4 (01:10:33):
So that that's what their theory is. So I hope,
I hope that is And.

Speaker 8 (01:10:37):
Isn't it a lot of a lot more dinosaurs are like, uh,
dog size than you know we think about your trannosaursnosauruses,
and a lot of them are kind of almost German.

Speaker 4 (01:10:48):
Shepherd side right, it's true.

Speaker 8 (01:10:49):
But yeah, I think I think there's a lot too
that to look into. As far as the timing of dinosaurs,
how long they were were they here before humans?

Speaker 4 (01:10:56):
Very interesting is what you would explain some of the
disagreements on the edge of the earth. We'll be right back.

Speaker 1 (01:11:04):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. In a world that

(01:11:26):
has gone nuts, they are here to well to point
it out. The Rick Burgess Show, Thank.

Speaker 4 (01:11:36):
You, America, thank you for being with us today.

Speaker 3 (01:11:38):
The next hour recap of Speedy and Greg at the
Crap Run yesterday Piedmont, Alabama. What out bemt. The gang
all here today. We've given a number of updates. If
you miss those, catch it on the daily archive.

Speaker 4 (01:11:55):
What is I think that's going to be crap?

Speaker 15 (01:11:58):
Right?

Speaker 4 (01:11:59):
Just table? Okay?

Speaker 2 (01:12:00):
All right?

Speaker 3 (01:12:01):
So uh anyway, so the ang's all here. We've covered
quite a bit u catching on the archive. You missed it,
here's a nothing we got to talk about. Guys, could
you all believe what you were reading when the Mark
Sanchez story started?

Speaker 11 (01:12:15):
No?

Speaker 4 (01:12:15):
I couldn't believe what I was reading. I couldn't believe
what I still don't get it. So there was he
the one that's in trouble?

Speaker 3 (01:12:23):
To me, I thought you somebody attacked Mark Sanchez, but
it sounds to me like he's the aggressor.

Speaker 13 (01:12:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:12:28):
So the family of the truck driver that allegedly attacked
Mark Sanchez, okay, who who was doing some some broadcasting,
has revealed that he is recovering despite the grewsome photos
of his injuries emerging online. Sanchez a former NFL quarterback
and Fox TV analyst.

Speaker 4 (01:12:51):
Or was that's the butt fumble guy? Yep? Was rushed
by the way.

Speaker 3 (01:12:54):
The fact that some of all coin like you said
a minute ago, is this how we're covering Deon Sanders. Yeah,
we're not alone. I saw a number of people on
social media that used this opportunity to bring the butt
fumble back. Okay, now you may have just said this
and he currently what he was an analyst, Yeah, foxsah, I've.

Speaker 8 (01:13:13):
Got a news package on it, and then I've got
the butt fumble ready to roll.

Speaker 4 (01:13:17):
Yeah of course, all right, so maybe this will help. Here,
here's the news story on it.

Speaker 16 (01:13:20):
An update on the breaking news we brought you earlier.
Former football star Mark Sanchez has now been arrested and
charged with battery after an incident that left him stabbed
overnight in Indianapolis.

Speaker 1 (01:13:31):
Police just telling us.

Speaker 16 (01:13:32):
Sanchez was arrested at the hospital on suspicion of battery
with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle, and public intoxication,
all of those charges misdemeanors. Once again, former NFL quarterback
Mark Sanchez arrested after an incident where he himself was
stabbed overnight.

Speaker 1 (01:13:51):
Will be following this story.

Speaker 3 (01:13:53):
So Sanchez, Sanchez a little tanked, not back. A few
said Gussie was sounds like he was an angry drunk.
Said he was arrested by Indianapolis police for a battery
with injury and like we said, all he said, all
this public intoxication.

Speaker 4 (01:14:09):
Let's he started to fight with the guy and what
led to that, I don't know. Here's the butt fum Okay,
back to that. So we're gonna do it.

Speaker 1 (01:14:18):
Yeah, in Indianapolis the offensive court, it'd be go a busted.

Speaker 4 (01:14:23):
And gets hipped guys.

Speaker 6 (01:14:27):
That was in twenty twenty twelve twenty members.

Speaker 3 (01:14:31):
Covering I did too, so so apparently it was Sanchez
that was the aggressor.

Speaker 4 (01:14:38):
And you know you stabbed him to do you keep
him off of it? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:14:41):
Do you remember the time you and I were Unfortunately
the time, I gotta no. We're in a situation where
a guy had to announce to everybody. This involved a
woman that attacked him and she had her fingernails. She
was clawing his face and he finally just hip toster
and he turned and said I had to get her
off of me, and he had to announce her by
I'm not trying to but I got to get her
off of me. Yeah, I mean it sounds like this

(01:15:03):
guy had to finally stab Mark Sanchez said I had
to get him off of me.

Speaker 4 (01:15:07):
Hm m yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:15:07):
He kept coming after him, right, so there was a fight.
I think the guy said something to him about the
butt FuMB it could have been Uh, no, one knows.

Speaker 8 (01:15:18):
You've seen the truck driver.

Speaker 4 (01:15:20):
He's in bad shape. He had a cut all the
way on his cheek. I think I'll wait too his
real teeth. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it is glad. So this
was not just a little scrum. This is I have
the affidavit.

Speaker 8 (01:15:33):
According to the affidavit, uh, do you guys want me
to read it really quick? Sanchez accosted a truck driver
a hotel loading.

Speaker 4 (01:15:39):
Doc Okay, that's wonder where it was. It was at
a hotel loading doctors loading stuff.

Speaker 5 (01:15:44):
Man.

Speaker 8 (01:15:44):
The confrontation escalated to the point where the truck driver
believed he was in danger, so he sprayed Sanchez in
the face with pepper spray. Sanchez still advancing toward him,
and the truck driver evidently thought this guy is going
to try to kill me. Truck driver pulls out a knife.
Sanchez is still coming at him. He said he struck
Sanchez two or three times. The truck driver then said

(01:16:04):
he was thrown against a dumpster and onto the ground
and then uh the driver, according to The affidavit then said,
a look of shot came to Sanchez's face and he
took off, And so I guess he kind of realized
what had happened in that moment.

Speaker 6 (01:16:20):
Now, his face being cut the truck driver, yes, did
Is that because he was thrown against something?

Speaker 4 (01:16:26):
Or did Sanchez Sanchez wanted to have a knife on
him too.

Speaker 8 (01:16:29):
Maybe Sanchez got the truck driver's knife and stabbed him back.

Speaker 3 (01:16:33):
Oh good, gracious Sanchez took the place. Yeah that all
he could remember was grabbing for a window. He said,
I don't even know who stabbed me or where the
incident occurred.

Speaker 4 (01:16:42):
He was that drunk. Oh wow, since he got a
little mean, he's in that dark water. So yeah, yeah,
darkwater make you mean mm hmm. This truck driver's in
bad shape. It was Jack Cheek. I think it was Jack.
I don't. I think it was Jim Ban do you Yeah?

Speaker 15 (01:16:59):
So?

Speaker 10 (01:16:59):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (01:17:02):
Possibly wild possibly Wild Turkey. Yeah, okay.

Speaker 3 (01:17:13):
By the way, By the way, anybody whoever, unfortunately had
run ins with wild Turkey, if you and your friends
did not gobble.

Speaker 4 (01:17:21):
You didn't really know you were.

Speaker 3 (01:17:23):
You had no business, no business, Go get another brand.
That's right, Yeah, you're going gobble right, yeah, but Jim
Bean making mean m hm. But I'm not saying that's
what happened.

Speaker 4 (01:17:34):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:17:35):
Well, but so according to the truck driver, he was
working and Sanchez attacked him. Yep again, I gotta.

Speaker 4 (01:17:41):
Feel like the truck driver mass said something about that
you were flopping the NFL. What about the butt great, I.

Speaker 3 (01:17:46):
Don't think so. I think Sanchez didn't like where he
was parked. I think he was confused.

Speaker 4 (01:17:50):
About his ride. Guys just trying to deliver something. Yeah,
I'm just trying to deliver couches, right, So so yeah,
I didn't probably food and go there.

Speaker 3 (01:18:00):
So did y'all think when we first saw this story,
did we think that at the end of it, Mark
Sanchez would be the aggression and he's actually the one
that's in trouble. When I first saw the headline, I said,
why's somebody? I thought it might have been a Jets fan.

Speaker 4 (01:18:16):
That's not hard to be.

Speaker 3 (01:18:17):
He never liked you butt fumble like you said all that,
But apparently that's uh, yeah, you're right, by the way.

Speaker 4 (01:18:26):
That was one And look, we had a bizarre weekend
of stories. That was one of the most That was
one of the most are I was like, what is that?

Speaker 17 (01:18:32):
You know?

Speaker 8 (01:18:33):
You got to do something pretty bad to be the
one that goes to the hospital with a stabbing while
being stabbed and then you get arrested and you don't
remember what happened.

Speaker 4 (01:18:42):
Yeah, that's not good.

Speaker 3 (01:18:44):
Yeah, so many times you think that you know you
quote who are you?

Speaker 10 (01:18:51):
By the who?

Speaker 5 (01:18:52):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:18:53):
I just remember throwing punches around and preaching from my chair.
That's all I remember.

Speaker 4 (01:18:57):
But who are you?

Speaker 8 (01:18:58):
Who are you?

Speaker 4 (01:18:58):
Top of the hour.

Speaker 1 (01:19:00):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 18 (01:19:07):
Welcome to the Rick Burgess Show, the Voice of reason
for another reason.

Speaker 4 (01:19:23):
Lighting up Francis.

Speaker 5 (01:19:25):
Here we go, coming America.

Speaker 4 (01:19:28):
It is a brand new hour, brand new day, brand
new week.

Speaker 5 (01:19:31):
Uh huh.

Speaker 3 (01:19:32):
A lot going on this past weekend. We've been walking
through the stories within the show and around the world.
D Greg Adler all here, and we.

Speaker 4 (01:19:45):
Thank you for being with us.

Speaker 3 (01:19:46):
Unscreen phone calls coming up this hour before the show's over.
Dickey Nadmy ways in Obama's latest win. He's back now,
so that's coming up a little bit later on.

Speaker 5 (01:19:59):
All right, So.

Speaker 3 (01:20:01):
The crap run was this past weekend Peedemont, Alabama. Yes,
it was Greg and Speedy were there. Huge crowd. Yes,
I think they have more runners than they've ever had. Yeah,
and I've been there at the line. It was there's
a lot of folks. Of course, a couple of things
we got to cover. Yeah, boy, do we reading an

(01:20:22):
email here?

Speaker 4 (01:20:22):
That's interesting? He was wondering if you can hear about that.
I'll just let you guys walk it out. But interesting email. Well,
it was increasing. It was a cool day.

Speaker 6 (01:20:38):
And I'll let Greg run with it because I know
he's been supporting Vanissa Foundation for a long time now. Yes,
I said, I said, Venissa's Foundation. And uh, we show
up and uh we watched the last maybe three minutes
of the Bama game before we walk Yeah, okay, and
we knew everybody would be in a good mood. It

(01:21:00):
was Obama fan and so we get there and it's
just really is amazing how the city of Piedmont just
and the mayor was there. They just say, hey, take
the city, y'all, just tell y'all got it, And right
out of the gate we went, Hey, the last year
was good, but this year there's a new level of
a tendency.

Speaker 3 (01:21:21):
Well, it was the tenth anniversary when Benissa went to heaven, right,
so and this is the thirteenth running they've.

Speaker 4 (01:21:26):
Had, Yeah, and it just keeps growing.

Speaker 6 (01:21:28):
And so we saw there was a mob yeah yeah,
and we saw Randa who was Venissa's sister, and then
Chelsea and Nathan Vanissa's kids who were who run it.
And Chelsea does a great job. She's MCing it and
keeping things going. She's got music and it's right there
at the intersection where everybody is kind of gathering before

(01:21:50):
it's in between like the start and then the ending
in the finish line.

Speaker 4 (01:21:55):
Was stretched his big foot when we got.

Speaker 3 (01:21:58):
He was having a big foot was stressed a big
foot he was, And then he gets out of the
big Foot plays lead guitar national Land.

Speaker 4 (01:22:05):
He does you know what that's hers tried to get
him to leave the suit.

Speaker 6 (01:22:08):
He could have left that suit on. I said, where's Nathan,
but I'm in here. Yeah, so your bigfoot tried talking
to the planet. There is one moment that I think
the emailer sent you about. And you know, when you're
trying to and we're being announced there this is uh
And Chelsea says, and I think it was just she

(01:22:31):
didn't she just said it, But I mean everything she
caught what she said, no, because she knows that yes,
but she said, we have speeding Greg with the Greg
Burgess Show.

Speaker 4 (01:22:47):
Did she just say Greg Burgess? Guys, I got something
to it now. Can I now read this email along
with what you said? Here's the part. Well, I went
to the Crap Run.

Speaker 3 (01:22:58):
I proceeded to leave the Alabama game halftime, not by choice,
had speeding Greg walked past me and spoke to them
and forced Greg to shake my hand. Hand has got
a little softer than I expected. But then they announced
the show at the Crap Run as the Greg Burgess Show,
and to my surprise, Greg.

Speaker 4 (01:23:14):
Did not correctly.

Speaker 2 (01:23:15):
No, right was up?

Speaker 3 (01:23:18):
I mean one time I got introduced his speedy and
I went out, yeah, and I think we you know
him as speeding whenever you can, no one introduced Greg correctly.

Speaker 4 (01:23:26):
I mean it's like every time.

Speaker 3 (01:23:28):
You might know him as speed, you might know as
the host of the Greg Burgess Show.

Speaker 4 (01:23:34):
Just echoed off the buildings through downtown Peede money about it.
I figured that, Yeah, the conversation, everybody's like, oh wow,
I didn't know that that's really Greg show coming out
and uh hilarious. The food is always Yeah, we look
for and then we eat way too much.

Speaker 6 (01:23:51):
And whenever she introduced Greg with the Greg Burgess Show,
he was he was still unsure if he was going
to run. He was the baiting game time and and
just in Cage, Yeah, I'm proud of you, Greg because
you brought in the metal flag with the national anthem
engraving from Docs chop Shop. Jeff Kaiker made that and

(01:24:13):
gave that to the show. Wanted us to bring it
in little heavy you want you're talking about the real thing.
It's really neat.

Speaker 7 (01:24:19):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (01:24:20):
And so Greg, I'm so proud of you for bringing
that in. So you know, so it's it's it's about time.

Speaker 6 (01:24:27):
And and this video will start with us trying to
decide Greg, are you going to run or are you not? Now,
around Greg and myself, there's just a sea of people,
there's food trucks, there's just you'll hear Chelsea in the
background right after she says Greg Burgess Show.

Speaker 3 (01:24:43):
Uh and uh.

Speaker 6 (01:24:44):
And so here it is and it starts with this
and goes to the run and then Greg finishing as well.

Speaker 4 (01:24:50):
Mike and Greg, are you running or not? You know?

Speaker 3 (01:24:54):
Okay, Now where Speedy was gonna jump in about halfway
and would do like a knuck.

Speaker 4 (01:25:00):
Yeah, yeah, but I won't try it. I don't want
to speak to get hurt. You're one seventy five because
they got seventy five and there.

Speaker 3 (01:25:08):
Yes, I requested that because of my big brother on
seventy five that if I had any chance to be.

Speaker 4 (01:25:13):
Successful, if I be an, I got it. Okay, So
we got to start finishing line.

Speaker 16 (01:25:21):
Up.

Speaker 3 (01:25:22):
But it's his daughter, Chelsea is actually talking to confidence
is not right, right, So Greg, to start finish line
is down there. We're gonna move everybody down there, right,
And then I hear you're you're hitting the horn.

Speaker 4 (01:25:34):
That's what I've been told. I've been told year I
had that job and I hit the horn and it
didn't go off, but I wasn't doing it right. And
all the runners were born in Africa.

Speaker 5 (01:25:43):
Might not to go.

Speaker 3 (01:25:45):
It's to make sure that no cancer patient goes without
their needed jags and all in there.

Speaker 4 (01:25:51):
So again, thank you, We are so blessed.

Speaker 8 (01:25:55):
It's six hundred plus people.

Speaker 4 (01:25:58):
Yeah, Greg, there's a lot of people here, buddy, see you,
it's real. It's real. How you feel. I'm not thinking off? Yeah,
but I'm gonna give it a shot man. I've been
doing this. Last year, I didn't run it as it
kind of bothered me. Yeah, this year, I'm gonna give
it a shot.

Speaker 3 (01:26:19):
I'm not promising anything, Okay, people who actually look like
they are runners, right, I'm gonna try and draft with them.
They if they're drafting, okay, But if you look ahead,
I've never seen this many, so.

Speaker 4 (01:26:28):
Y'all remember what Greg looks like. He's not gonna look
this fresh in a few minutes, you know, you know what.
I went and put my phone back from the truck.
I said, just didn't feel comfortable.

Speaker 3 (01:26:36):
Yeah, I should have capten so I could go to say,
brothers come stumbling down for Hey, where are you?

Speaker 4 (01:26:41):
Hey, buddy? Want to run?

Speaker 5 (01:26:45):
Okay?

Speaker 4 (01:26:45):
You're doing?

Speaker 11 (01:26:46):
Okay?

Speaker 4 (01:26:46):
Greg blew the horn in my everybody?

Speaker 5 (01:26:50):
Did it? Really?

Speaker 4 (01:26:51):
How you doing, buddy? I'm just trying to blend in.
Give me just run.

Speaker 5 (01:26:54):
We had a long way to go.

Speaker 4 (01:26:56):
Will just keep running offending for you know, it'll be
you gonna go with this pace?

Speaker 3 (01:27:02):
Greg, there's there's small children. This is about the last
light we're gonna see. It's kind of dark up here,
doesn't How do you feel about it right now?

Speaker 4 (01:27:11):
Is this is about as long as your driveway. We're
not quite too mands. Okay, I'm proud of you from running,
buddy the camera. I can't make fun of anybody that runs,
and I don't. Yeah, you're running, Okay, I'm not above walking, right,
But I guess I'm gonna leave it with you because

(01:27:33):
I thought we get too far out. Okay, man, Okay,
there you go, Greg. There I go off into the dogs.
Look at all those great do you look away? You
think you do? Running a little more goofy?

Speaker 3 (01:27:45):
In my mind, I looked a little shore, so just
and and and now I'm walking against the traffic and
people are out and so I'm trying to get back
to the finish line so I can grab, uh, catch
Greg as he rounds the corner to the finish line,
and try to document that.

Speaker 4 (01:28:03):
And you're not ready for it for the finish here?

Speaker 4 (01:32:32):
No correction, no correction, like I can't stop the momentum
of what's happening.

Speaker 3 (01:32:36):
You could have you could have stepp up and say,
actually it's the Rick burd I weren't ready for that.
They couldn't take it. So let's talk about the toddler
that cut you off. Yeah, that kid's quick, right. The
kid rode the buggies straight. Okay, Greg, it's a baby.
Well okay, I forgot about that.

Speaker 4 (01:32:54):
Right I would have.

Speaker 3 (01:32:55):
I would have had probably another tenth off if Honey,
the kid hadn't cut me out cut it. Yeah yeah,
but I'm pretty impressed by the kid. Yeah yeah, yeah.
I turned the corner, but.

Speaker 4 (01:33:05):
He came out of the darkness. I didn't realize how
dark it was back. Yeah, it's dark. How did did you?
Did you cut through? No? I didn't.

Speaker 3 (01:33:12):
I thought about it though I got to looking. I
got people garden it. But what what I think I
could have talked about? What you could talk about it?
So I'm gonna ask you. I'm gonna ask you a
tough question here, Okay, because I know you that little
kid digging, Okay, I'm gonna ask you this because I know.

Speaker 4 (01:33:31):
Kids timing costs you some time. Probably could have broke
your record. But now, well, because you just not blowing
past him, I could.

Speaker 3 (01:33:40):
I'm like, no, I'm not. No, So I'm gonna pass
the kid. Everybodys cheering the kid on my big agement
can blow him by him.

Speaker 4 (01:33:50):
Leaning into the tape.

Speaker 3 (01:33:53):
Can I tell you watching him be out in front
of you digging is funny? It is you blowing past
him might have been fun fun Actually gets a girl.

Speaker 4 (01:34:02):
By the way, I think it's a girl. I think
she's fast, whoever.

Speaker 3 (01:34:05):
The fastest get alive whatever, it's pretty fast by the
way she looks back to see if you're back there.

Speaker 4 (01:34:10):
Now this person want on bomb? Yeah it is another
shild a grown man going past you his worst it is.
But Greg, that's you ran for thirty minutes, thirty three minutes.

Speaker 8 (01:34:22):
Yeah, I don't care who you are. Running for thirty
minutes is tough, great job.

Speaker 3 (01:34:26):
I just accept the fact that's where I finish every
year between thirty and thirty five somewhere.

Speaker 6 (01:34:31):
But isn't that kind of if you look at it
another way, as you get older, you're still able to
maintain that.

Speaker 4 (01:34:36):
Yeah, that's a good way to look at it.

Speaker 5 (01:34:37):
I guess.

Speaker 4 (01:34:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:34:38):
Uh the emailer that noticed that you didn't correct the
Greg Burgess Show, can no one introduce with you out
getting something? Yeah that was I said Greg from the
Rigging Bubb Show. But you know it, miss b I
remember that moment all over again, he said, because the show,
which I don't know how this started on the show.
It's his unscreen phone calls, which once again, y'all may

(01:35:00):
got the same thing. Where I was this weekend. Everywhere
I went, people are just digging unscreened. I'm like, why
are y'all so papa?

Speaker 4 (01:35:08):
Why didn't you pass that little girl? But anyway, he said,
I almost yelled out, do do But I didn't know
if that was.

Speaker 3 (01:35:20):
Almost yelled at a crowd of people. Yeah, wow, while
Greg was speaking. But I chickened out. My wife actually
dared me to do it.

Speaker 9 (01:35:27):
And you should.

Speaker 4 (01:35:28):
Oh, the wife was behind it. You should have done it.

Speaker 3 (01:35:30):
And then I had some guys doing this last night
in Tennessee at a at a man church event, and
I was like, guys, I don't know that we didn't.

Speaker 4 (01:35:38):
He's like, I don't guess. I actually come up and say,
I said, no, you really should not right now? No,
not right now. Pretty sure. There's a guy over there
crying and there's people praying over him. So so there
you go. But it was it was. It was a
cool night. Yeah. Yeah, speaking of cool, the temperature was
having fine. I'll be honest with you, it was a
little human when you got running.

Speaker 3 (01:35:58):
Oh really, yeah, it was surprisingly because it didn't but yeah,
because I sweated a lot.

Speaker 4 (01:36:05):
So really where we are.

Speaker 3 (01:36:06):
Sunday turned out to be cooler, yea, even cooler than
winter Saturday. Saturday still had some son out there stirring
up little humidity. Yeah, yeah, it's still a human.

Speaker 4 (01:36:16):
Yeah, but it was.

Speaker 3 (01:36:17):
It was I can't remember. I think one year we
ran it, it was actually cold only one time, and
then one time it was a light rain.

Speaker 4 (01:36:23):
I remember running in that one Men in the ring Greg, Oh,
that's a good point.

Speaker 6 (01:36:29):
We met all kinds of people and a sweet couple
that had just picked up running heard about this and
wanted to come represent.

Speaker 4 (01:36:37):
And support and they both beat me. Yeah, and uh
it was kind of cool meeting them.

Speaker 7 (01:36:41):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (01:36:41):
And it's just a lot a lot of folks, a
lot of love. Yeah. Like I said, it's become a
yearly thing for me. I enjoy.

Speaker 3 (01:36:47):
And like I say, the crowd was awesome. Yes, yeah,
I mean that that's a that's a mob crowd. So
everybody associated with the organization to be pleased with that,
and and the people in the area really support it,
so it's good. I think you probably could have come
in at thirty one. Yeah, I had kick left it.
I was on that turn, yeah, I said kat Adler

(01:37:09):
an email. We met Jesse Johnson.

Speaker 4 (01:37:11):
The Jesse always has the trucks painted up for the thing.

Speaker 3 (01:37:14):
Yeah, that's really cool. Yeah, so that's that's great. I
love it now every year. Philip Webb didn't make it.
Philip was in another event, but he did support it.

Speaker 4 (01:37:23):
He was there with online support. Yeah, spitty, how far
do you I did not run a little bit? Oh yeah,
how far do you think I range a couple of blocks? Yeah,
but yeah, knee bother used to it's.

Speaker 6 (01:37:35):
Not it's not my knee, it's the achilles. Yeah, and
it's only after a certain so I'd get about a
mile in and be fine and then all of a
sudden it just hit hard.

Speaker 4 (01:37:46):
Unscreen phone calls coming up.

Speaker 5 (01:37:48):
Right after this.

Speaker 1 (01:37:50):

Speaker 4 (01:39:10):
Yeah, yes, all right.

Speaker 14 (01:39:12):
When the guy apologized, excuse me, he said, I don't
mean to belittle anyone, can you guys let that walk?
I cannot believe that. That's like watching the antelope limp
on the serengetti and didn't make it.

Speaker 4 (01:39:26):
That was so good.

Speaker 3 (01:39:28):
He laid it right there on the table for us
to down like we missed. How about that great point?

Speaker 4 (01:39:34):
Sorry he probably snucked that in there. Yeah, it was
a great one. Rick Birders Show, Rick Birders Show on
screen phone calls, go ahead, Good morning, y'all.

Speaker 5 (01:39:45):
How are you all doing good?

Speaker 4 (01:39:46):

Speaker 4 (01:39:52):
I was just gonna let you know, Rick.

Speaker 22 (01:39:53):
You've inspired me to worry. If I ever have another son,
I think I'm gonna name him Andy that way. Later on,
if he goes to meet a young lady, his pickup
lines can be, Hey, my name's Andy, but you can
call me handy.

Speaker 3 (01:40:09):
I didn't know where that was. Go over, that's good,
that's good. Rick Burgers Show, unscreen phone calls, go ahead.

Speaker 15 (01:40:14):
And hey, guys, why are people surprised when professional athletes
attack people?

Speaker 5 (01:40:20):
They're just trained dumb animals.

Speaker 3 (01:40:25):
Ok, he was a quarterback, Come on, come on, Rick
Burgers Show. Unscreen phone calls, go ahead.

Speaker 7 (01:40:32):
Hey, it's Denny's from Rome. Hey great, I'm so excited.
I got to see you Saturday.

Speaker 4 (01:40:41):
Well, we're glad to see you.

Speaker 3 (01:40:42):
And everybody came out for the big crap run and
I saw you finished, and if you like me, I
felt it the next day.

Speaker 4 (01:40:48):
Were you sore?

Speaker 7 (01:40:49):
Oh my goodness, I was sore the next day. I
was thinking, was that a really good decision? I'm good
today though, I'm very recovered.

Speaker 4 (01:41:01):
Now, how many is this for you?

Speaker 5 (01:41:05):
Five?

Speaker 3 (01:41:06):
I think you said there.

Speaker 7 (01:41:07):
Three or four. I'd have to look back at my shirts.
And I think, come up.

Speaker 4 (01:41:12):
I tell you Greg was in rare form. What needs Denise?

Speaker 7 (01:41:15):
I'm telling you, But you know how much I love Greg,
so I'm on his side. I don't care if he
didn't correct them.

Speaker 23 (01:41:21):
You know.

Speaker 7 (01:41:22):
To me, it is Greg Burgess show.

Speaker 4 (01:41:24):
Oh here we go. You're not alone. You're not alone?
Have you fund I'm best known as Greg's brother.

Speaker 3 (01:41:32):

Speaker 4 (01:41:41):
Rick Burgers Show, unscreened phone calls go ahead, Oh Rick, buddy.

Speaker 8 (01:41:48):
Greg, Yes, you're not gonna believe.

Speaker 24 (01:41:52):
What happened Saturday?

Speaker 4 (01:41:53):
What happened?

Speaker 25 (01:41:54):
Larry Kron and I were in Kroger's.

Speaker 24 (01:41:59):
I had a twelve pack of Gator Egg in a box, Yes,
standing there in line.

Speaker 11 (01:42:07):
The bottom of the box fell out.

Speaker 25 (01:42:10):
Gether egg broke all over the place. There was Gator
egg running all over the Kogers in mine.

Speaker 4 (01:42:21):
Oh, Larry, come clean up on our one clean up.

Speaker 3 (01:42:26):
I hadn't seen you make that big a mess. And
she broke another bed. I heard some more listeners came
to see you.

Speaker 4 (01:42:38):
Yeah, John is letting people in. Huh, that's good.

Speaker 24 (01:42:44):
Friday, we got a blue Angel shoulder patch and challenge Clayton.

Speaker 7 (01:42:50):
Oh.

Speaker 4 (01:42:53):
You had that one. That's good. Did you ever get
into gatorade? Did you'll have to clean it up? What happened?

Speaker 10 (01:43:00):
The manager was lapping about it and he had it.
Not the first time has happened. Everybody was going everybody
was laughing about it.

Speaker 4 (01:43:11):
Carolyn, can't take you anywhere?

Speaker 3 (01:43:12):
Yeah, that's right, Thank you all for calling my good
Rick Burgers show unscreen phone calls.

Speaker 20 (01:43:20):
Go ahead, Hey, Rick, got a question for you. Have
you heard of the new chat app that you can
get where you can talk and ask Jesus and people
of the Bible questions and it gives you an answer.

Speaker 4 (01:43:37):
No, check it.

Speaker 14 (01:43:38):
It's on the news this morning.

Speaker 20 (01:43:39):
But it's an AppyWay you can ask Jesus and Moses
and biblical characters questions.

Speaker 10 (01:43:46):
I'm sure to give you an answer.

Speaker 4 (01:43:47):
Yeah, I sure would like to.

Speaker 3 (01:43:49):
I think we just need to stick with what was
documented that they said in scripture and kind of leave
it at that. I'm sure it tries to go gather.
Somebody told me I didn't know this happened. I didn't
get to this one. And hey, birds, but you kind
of said it up. You talking about creepy, and I look,
I've always had a lot of good respect for Preston
Wood Baptists in Texas.

Speaker 4 (01:44:08):
But they said that they had Charlie Kirk address the
congregation an AI version of him, like he's doing a
message from heaven. Really, that's weird. And they even sent
me the link. That's creepy.

Speaker 3 (01:44:24):
Huh. Look, I'm I'm look. I love my brothers and
sisters at Preston Wood. But I'm sorry, that's just that's weird.
That's weird.

Speaker 4 (01:44:32):
That that's not that's weird. We continue Rick Burgers show
on screenphone calls go ahead.

Speaker 12 (01:44:43):
Rick Burgess, Hey, buddy, man is uh, I've got a
dress something I've I've heard about Greg for a few
years and I just can't believe it. I've met Greg.
I've shaken the man saying I'm looking through his eyes,
and I keep hearing that he's highly critical of the
King of Country George Straight.

Speaker 4 (01:45:00):
That's correct, that's true, that is correct.

Speaker 3 (01:45:02):
Well, I mean, I'm not a huge fan. I'm just
saying he's just he said he's not a big fan.
He says that people pretend to like him when they
really don't. Just go say think it makes them sharp.

Speaker 4 (01:45:10):
Yeah, because you're doing.

Speaker 12 (01:45:14):
No Greg, I say, George Strada Montgomery, Alabama. I had
a race track back in the day, in the early nineties.
Have you heard the tail end of Amarillo by Morning
with the fiddle fade out?

Speaker 5 (01:45:24):
Greg, you have not?

Speaker 4 (01:45:26):
Maybe I need to give that a shot.

Speaker 12 (01:45:28):
Give it a shot. It's haunting, touching music the way
God intended. And just let us know if that might
change your opinion.

Speaker 3 (01:45:37):
Okay, I'll give it a listen, because I mean, I
appreciate good YEP talent and all that.

Speaker 4 (01:45:41):
He's upset a lot of George Strait.

Speaker 3 (01:45:43):
I just made the statement that a lot of people
feel like they have to claim who's your favorite coche
of the ors straight, but they don't mean it. You
know how mad everybody is today, they actually are sticking
out Mark sanchizm.

Speaker 4 (01:45:53):
Greg, I'll give it a list give.

Speaker 12 (01:45:57):
A list of that fiddle fade out.

Speaker 4 (01:45:59):
And also, as long as he's not singing, is an
underrated team the big One. I think this look, he's
got a great I'm just honestly listen to.

Speaker 3 (01:46:15):
It's haunting. Long as George stay quiet. Rick Burgers show
unscreen phone calls go ahead.

Speaker 10 (01:46:22):
Top of the morning to you man.

Speaker 13 (01:46:23):
Hey buddy, Hey, have you guys seen the show on
the Special Forces show? No where the celebrities going to.

Speaker 4 (01:46:34):
Special I've seen highlights.

Speaker 3 (01:46:36):
I've never seen pretty good, just just highlights an episode
or two.

Speaker 19 (01:46:40):
The reason I'm bringing it up is because Johnny Manziel
on the Sidelines Saturday makes me wonder why he is such.

Speaker 10 (01:46:48):
A weenie on the show?

Speaker 4 (01:46:51):
Is he on this year? I haven't seen it.

Speaker 10 (01:46:54):
Oh, he's on this year, and he is. He's let
himself go.

Speaker 19 (01:46:58):
It seems like he couldn't even Yes, he's having a
hard time.

Speaker 5 (01:47:04):
I bet he.

Speaker 4 (01:47:04):
Yes, he and he kind of got into it with
some Tide fans. Shocker. He let them know. Guys, just
Smolett is on there.

Speaker 3 (01:47:12):
No is not yes, yes, say things like that he
couldn't finish one of the obstacles because these two brothers
jumped him and they tried to tie a rope row
which he left on when the police got there so
they could see it.

Speaker 8 (01:47:28):
And then the the Sister Wives, Oh yeah, and then
some of the Ma The Real Housewife.

Speaker 4 (01:47:36):
What is this based on the lineup? Is this a
special tribute to the mentally ill?

Speaker 3 (01:47:42):
If you're got a unique this year episode Rick Burgers Show, unscreened.

Speaker 23 (01:47:47):
Go ahead, Yeah, I want to tell Speedy I'm sorry

Speaker 11 (01:48:13):
But I I I'm sorry, But it's okay to make
fun of my wife. My wife said uh to to
not mess with you guys. But it's okay.

Speaker 10 (01:48:25):
But I want to say sorry to Speedy.

Speaker 4 (01:48:27):
Okay, thank you, sir accepted. Ay yay yy. Yeah, I'm

Speaker 5 (01:48:40):

Speaker 13 (01:48:43):

man for themselves.

Speaker 21 (01:48:52):
Sometimes you got to push them kids out of the way.

Speaker 4 (01:48:54):
And I understand and beat your little kids. Get to Greg,
All the kid was fast. All he could seize his
little grand babies in front of it. Yeah, you were
in a no when if you if you raised the kid,
you beat the kid. And if you let the yeah,
you can't testify it. See it was quick though, I can.

(01:49:15):
You've heard that.

Speaker 5 (01:49:16):
We'll be back.

Speaker 3 (01:49:16):
We'll jump into more story that happen since the last
time we were together, stay close or coming up right
after this.

Speaker 1 (01:49:25):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the home of Greg Burchess,

(01:49:48):
America's life coach. The Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 3 (01:49:53):
All right, here we go, thanks for being with US America.
We've talked quite a bit about a number of things
from the weekend. You know, I we're we're talking to
Dicky Nadmire next hour. We think, uh, he hasn't called
speedy yet, but we we think that it may be
coming next hour. So I wonder, uh, Adler five some

(01:50:16):
of this stuff here video five. There are a lot
of people were discussing, you know, the Alabama Vanderbilt game,
which Dicky will break down for us.

Speaker 4 (01:50:27):
Uh, he was never worried.

Speaker 3 (01:50:29):
Diago Pavia Pavier, how you say his name? He you know,
he he's a confident fellow. Yeah, someone would say cocky,
this would say confident, hard knows, gutsy player. Granted he's
been playing for seven years. Yeah he's older than most
of them's dad. But but anyway, coming off the field,

(01:50:54):
you know when you when you when you go out
on the middlefield and you you you in front of
bright Denny do the running out the clock in pregame.

Speaker 4 (01:51:05):
Practice it this, This just builds this people.

Speaker 3 (01:51:10):
People are waiting and already made statements right the way
people are waiting on you when you lose now because you're.

Speaker 4 (01:51:16):
You built this environment. Yes, get ready. You're on the
road and a lot of people did you notice they
was a fan.

Speaker 3 (01:51:22):
They were that he got into it with a fan
on the Well, this guy, you can tell you, I
don't think this is Dickie.

Speaker 4 (01:51:28):
He looks too normal. His brother's getting a photo right here,
so he's coming out, and I don't know if I
believe it. It's right they look, they're all waiting on
the tunnel, a lot of a lot of going back.

Speaker 3 (01:51:46):
Now that's not Dickie. That may be him behind in
the yellow shirt, you know, just for a second. So
Paul thought it was so passionate he had to get
up and go down there. He's got you know, he's
got anhim notes, he's got family all any I mean,
he was just mad yee. So Also there's a couple

(01:52:08):
eight and nine here, I'm sorry, eight and ten they
say t Bow took his shirt off on the SEC network.

Speaker 4 (01:52:20):
And that's the one. You watch that more than Game.

Speaker 1 (01:52:22):
Day, don't you.

Speaker 3 (01:52:23):
Yeah, I go back between them. Yeah, so what I mean,
you're an SEC guy, you know. Uh, And that t
Bow took his shirt off and picks Florida. Of course
we had picked Florida as well. We told everybody to
watch this game. We shirt off when I picked. Two
reasons if you missed it early in the show. We
know that Billy Napier always saves his job. About this
time of the year is a yearly and we honestly

(01:52:43):
have been watching Texas and feel like that they not
they just don't quite have it together. Good teams about
pre season number one, but they don't look they look
they look very susceptible to what happened. So so anyway,
so here's t Bow, courtesy of the SEC network, making
his pick and taking the shirt off.

Speaker 8 (01:53:00):
No better, get ready, You're not gonna be able to
handle this. You're gonna get secondhand.

Speaker 4 (01:53:07):
That's right Texas now.

Speaker 8 (01:53:09):
But but then, but then, I also went into the
swamp yesterday and I hit the gator head.

Speaker 4 (01:53:18):
Yeah you didn't, Yeah you did. And I walked and
I walked out of the tunnel, and I was I
was reminded, guys, only gators get out alive.

Speaker 1 (01:53:30):
Oh you're changing your pick.

Speaker 19 (01:53:34):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:53:35):
If I get changed my pick, I can tell you
where my herd's coming from.

Speaker 5 (01:53:39):
No, a little bit, nobody, but they don't want to
get it. Let's go.

Speaker 4 (01:53:48):
I did the breakdown.

Speaker 8 (01:53:48):
Okay, he kept a shirt least she was a thought
was ak he had a tank on it. Okay, it
was very professional wrestling. It was Oh yeah, I felt
cringey like professional wrestling.

Speaker 4 (01:54:00):
Yeah, it was. It was fun.

Speaker 3 (01:54:02):
Adler, Uh, now, cut ten, what you're going to do?
The Patriots win? Uh, Stefan Diggs is going crazy. But
but unfortunately that uh we got a naked teammate in
the background.

Speaker 5 (01:54:18):
Oh what.

Speaker 4 (01:54:20):
Is this in the locker room? Is in the locker room?

Speaker 8 (01:54:22):
Stephan Diggs evidently was the last one into the locker room,
and so the rest of his the rest of his
teams teammates had begun getting ready to leave.

Speaker 5 (01:54:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:54:32):
That he was playing his former team. So there's a
big night for him, right, So they win, they beat
the Bills. Yeah, and we have this this an Eric
throw but first yeah, yeah, so he's fired up. But unfortunately,
as he's wrapping, there's naked players, I mean full blown

(01:54:52):
naked players. Yeah, in the background. But that also also
look like they're very excited about the win. Yeah, yeah,
there's a big wins.

Speaker 8 (01:55:01):
The free friend he did eventually get that blue towel on.

Speaker 4 (01:55:04):
So that god, yeah, a little late, a little late,
but you know that. So that's out there and today
so uh.

Speaker 3 (01:55:12):
And then on nine, so we have a Bills fan
that caught the ball in the stands uh and you
put the ball in in the jersey and left the game.

Speaker 6 (01:55:21):
Right he's on the front row and Josh Allen threw
the ball. He called it and then took off.

Speaker 4 (01:55:27):
And the call on it was pretty great. Check it out.
Turns the catches its catch. There, he's gone, Miltto, Milano's
gonna go. He's in row ten, consider fifteen. He might
get a beer.

Speaker 3 (01:55:45):
Where you're going, man, at your moment, milanover a forty
led by Allen.

Speaker 4 (01:55:50):
He's gonna take it the distance. So the guy just
as soon as he gets the ball, he just leaves. Yeah,
I guess he leaves to get it.

Speaker 8 (01:55:57):
I wanted the ball, so I guess the NFL you
have to give the ball back and they'll they'll get
it from you.

Speaker 4 (01:56:03):
I didn't know that was really a thing. I didn't
know you had to run out like that because.

Speaker 8 (01:56:08):
He put it in his jersey under his shirt and
it just hits the stands and gets at it, right,
that was so odd. Of course the camera, the TV
camera followed him up the stands as well, so the
whole thing was odd.

Speaker 3 (01:56:19):
Yeah, And then I kept seeing this over the weekend
on sixteen that Kyler Murray. Surely the snap that hit
him in the head, that's not what got him the
concussion protocol, right.

Speaker 4 (01:56:31):
I mean, I was hoping y'all could fill me up on.

Speaker 3 (01:56:33):
I think everybody's just goofing off saying is this when
it happened? Because he took a snap, I mean right
to the head.

Speaker 8 (01:56:39):
And did he did he take a big hit before this,
because maybe the ball hits him in the face.

Speaker 4 (01:56:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (01:56:45):
Here he is walking off the field, walking into the tunnel.
This is boom right there, and he acts stunned, and
he acts wobbly and he can't he can't dive.

Speaker 1 (01:56:53):
On the ball.

Speaker 4 (01:56:54):
But wasn't.

Speaker 3 (01:56:55):
Surely he was wobbly from the play before, and that's
why he couldn't catch the snap.

Speaker 6 (01:57:00):
Because it could be the whiplash not necessarily ball hitting him,
but the whiplash kind of missed him.

Speaker 4 (01:57:05):
Up a little bit. That's a I mean a snap,
he's not going back and.

Speaker 6 (01:57:10):
The Pavia thing and that guy apparently it goes back
to the pre game when he was standing there grabbing
his crotch towards the student section. But there were kids everywhere,
and that guy's kids were on the front row and
he was like, Hey, what are you doing and he
said that's when he said, I'll do whatever I want.
So that's what That's what the guy was upset saying.
What you didn't do is win the top of the hour,

(01:57:34):
This is.

Speaker 1 (01:57:35):
The Rick Bridgers Show.

Speaker 2 (01:57:52):

Probably celebrated over the weekend, but apparently, did you tell
me this last discussion about Bob Vier started.

Speaker 4 (01:58:53):
Fired him up.

Speaker 9 (01:58:54):
Rick, Oh here, let's see if the uh.

Speaker 4 (01:59:11):
Dicky are you there by?

Speaker 5 (01:59:12):
Oh boy?

Speaker 4 (01:59:13):
Hello? Oh there he is still partying.

Speaker 5 (01:59:17):
Yep, where the party is continuing in de town as
we make our way tohead next to Missouri to Ruin.
Everybody's a defeated season.

Speaker 4 (01:59:25):
Oh boy, Dicky admire what a wicked tide. He sounds happy.
He sounds tired, is what he sounds.

Speaker 5 (01:59:36):
Well, we we we stayed there outside for the Phillie
and I know there was one awkward moment that happened
to both game this last weekend, and that yeah, well
Phillis realized that Papier's mother and her both had the
same hulk tuffle crow tide. Women hate that.

Speaker 4 (01:59:57):
Yeah, they don't like to board the same with somebody.

Speaker 5 (02:00:00):
He looked at me and said, well she wore the
same alter topa. I well, there, little boy's a classy
little act, that little boy.

Speaker 3 (02:00:09):
I heard you had some confrontations there were you involved
in any of that?

Speaker 5 (02:00:13):
Well, as I was standing there screaming at him, calling
him O your little leper cuts and things of that nature,
he's a little bit he said, well good she I
gotta go. I'm a little bit cocky. I'm coming into Brighton.
Do you need the car? I'm gonna grab that. I'm
gon hold my little teepee in front of everybody to
the old ground road.

Speaker 4 (02:00:33):
Tight, Oh, Dicky Nadmire?

Speaker 5 (02:00:36):
Yeah, I said, well he could never, he could never
be big out. There's not much there road all.

Speaker 6 (02:00:45):
Dick, you we got to start from Saturday morning and
you take us through the whole game day experience.

Speaker 4 (02:00:51):
Were you around or what happened?

Speaker 5 (02:00:54):
Well? Well, first of all, I had an outstanding time
drinking wild turkey with the old bawds.

Speaker 4 (02:01:01):
And bonding it.

Speaker 5 (02:01:03):
THEO came over to then Admire tailgate and we we
we partied like it was nineteen ninety nine and uh
and had a great time. Loved THEO. I could tell
he was a bit hungover, as was I. But but
we were What do they call it? Uh Adler? I
have to ask that young little fellow up there, who

(02:01:23):
the only man on the team called them paffier, right,
uh Adler? Yeah? Is it called getting turnt?

Speaker 4 (02:01:33):
Yes?

Speaker 8 (02:01:34):
Yeah, you can, you can call it that if you want.

Speaker 5 (02:01:37):
We all got turned. Where am I just saying that everybody?
I didn't know what they were saying. So we did that,
of course, and of course I said a few things
about Herbstreet doggie that security didn't care for. But uh,

(02:01:58):
but we were there for the for the for the
big day, for the big road. Tide went over to
Saban's statue. Don't know who that is, but they say
it Saban statue.

Speaker 7 (02:02:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:02:07):
Especially you know when you go over.

Speaker 5 (02:02:09):
To Saman statue, I mean you respect him because all
he's done, there'll never be another Saban. But you go
to the statue and you thank you. So I think
that guy helped mint loans once.

Speaker 1 (02:02:20):
Road he looked.

Speaker 5 (02:02:25):
Road tag. Uh, well, well well there, so we started early.
We were there for game day. We enjoyed that. I
thought it was nice of Kirk kurb Street to apparently
give three hundred thousand dollars to somebody that couldn't kick.

Speaker 3 (02:02:39):
Yeah, it didn't make them earning, now didn't. And that
was uh, just draw names and give the money out.

Speaker 5 (02:02:46):
Yeah, I mean, well we might as well just give
the young lady. I don't many disrespect. God love her
now she's now she clearly she clearly didn't miss breakfast.

Speaker 4 (02:02:56):
Oh boy, all right, Now it did look like an
onside kick. Did she kicked?

Speaker 5 (02:03:00):
Well, she well, she she wanted to have the experience.
But what I would have said this, here's an experience.
You can't kick, so you don't get any money.

Speaker 4 (02:03:07):
Yeah, ro it's got a bad experience.

Speaker 5 (02:03:10):
And I thought they might live mcafe at least kick
it on them beerhalf, but herb Street threw it through
h I thought that. I thought that was weird. So
we moved that said some things that got us in trouble.
And but you know we had we had a big day,
had a little Nikky with us or Noder and of
course we had little little Nikky. Do you know the
two oldest boys couldn't couldn't be with us. And I
thought to myself and I told little Nicky do, I said, now,

(02:03:32):
your brother Peter's not here with us because he's got
to talk to this pro officer this weekend. So if
you get a good camera shot, it's going to have
to beg you to shoot the bird. Boy, it's all
on you.

Speaker 4 (02:03:45):
Is his first time. I'm man.

Speaker 5 (02:03:47):
Well, we kind of put it on a little Vandy,
didn't we Yeah, we got to put it on a
little vandy. We we kind of ruined their little season
nobody anchoring down this year. Last year was a fluke.

Speaker 3 (02:03:58):
Well, you know, to be honest, you got a man.
I mean, the score doesn't indicate it's pretty close game.

Speaker 5 (02:04:02):
Right now, what game were you watching? If you said,
attach congratulations to you, Gregory? I see that open beat
bye this week? Who did y'all meet? As I stand
from bringing me young elementary.

Speaker 4 (02:04:20):
Broad Now during the game, did you say Johnny manziela?
Was he?

Speaker 19 (02:04:25):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (02:04:25):
Are you the one he was flipping off?

Speaker 3 (02:04:28):
No?

Speaker 5 (02:04:28):
I flipped off Johnny manziel He was responding to my birth.

Speaker 4 (02:04:34):
So they got it backwards.

Speaker 5 (02:04:36):
I kept screaming out that the ball could beat him up.

Speaker 4 (02:04:41):
Bonded.

Speaker 5 (02:04:42):
I thought my best line of the day, and I
had some good one, But I thought my best line
of the day too, and I said it to the
little Johnny Manny. You know, should he be in jail?
I said, I said, Johnny Manny, tell all the polis
this is so bad. The old ball to go right
home with us, protag.

Speaker 13 (02:05:01):
With us.

Speaker 5 (02:05:02):
The Ovon is in the RB hanging out with Phyllis
and the gang.

Speaker 4 (02:05:05):
That's it. Uh huh Yeah.

Speaker 5 (02:05:07):
I like with the Ovon, so.

Speaker 4 (02:05:09):
He fit right in with you. He's one of us
really is he was pulling for Bama. He couldn't say it.

Speaker 5 (02:05:16):
It just feels so good to be a Bama fan
right now. It does. And you know I never doubted
the team this year and the boy, the boy is
doing the heck with a job. Uh Dad, you got
us headed in the right direction. And I always thought
that was a good high?

Speaker 4 (02:05:34):
Did you really so everything you said after week one?
Ignore that is that what we're what was emotional.

Speaker 6 (02:05:42):
Let your emotions get to you the life of the
life of the sec though it doesn't stop.

Speaker 4 (02:05:47):
Now you headed to the undefeated. Missouri we kick You
know what.

Speaker 5 (02:05:52):
I love about going up to Missouri. I like going
on the road and coming in and being a dream crusher.
Or we Missouri, we show me, show me. Let me
tell you if I know it's to show me State.
We're gonna show you what it looks like to get
your buck kicked. Show you that show me, Wow, Phyllis,

(02:06:13):
Phyllis is gonna go with a different halter top, and
we may do another verse to show me and kind
of show those things what it's all about. Show me,
We'll show you road.

Speaker 3 (02:06:21):
Tad's comment, Now, wow, Well, let me just tell you this.

Speaker 5 (02:06:29):
If we don't beat Missouri, I mean I can almost
guarantee then we're gonna beat Missuri. So they gonna, they're
gonna they're gonna tackle our big boy on short yardage.

Speaker 4 (02:06:40):
Oh, how you like him?

Speaker 5 (02:06:41):
They're gonna tackle our three hundred and sixty.

Speaker 9 (02:06:44):
Pound run him back guy.

Speaker 5 (02:06:48):
Sound like six foot seven, three hundred and sixty coming
downhill like a pack of dirm road tide.

Speaker 6 (02:06:55):
That's a yeah, he's a mess. I don't know where
you start to try to tackle him.

Speaker 5 (02:06:59):
Well, what I want to ask you guys a question.
What happened a little tex here?

Speaker 4 (02:07:04):
Oh yeah, the pre season. Now we're out on the
top twenty five.

Speaker 5 (02:07:08):
Little arch Man and God of let her boy down?
Had he who would have thought that arch man and
couldn't play at the highest level he was. Did you
see the little fat kids that were running up to him?
And he played played high school? Have you have you
seen the footage we have, We've.

Speaker 4 (02:07:25):
All seen that it's been out there.

Speaker 5 (02:07:27):
That's sure not exactly the SEC player when you agree
with them, not at all.

Speaker 4 (02:07:32):
No, we're in a little different level now.

Speaker 5 (02:07:35):
Yeah, let the suck that look like the little fat
kid that you know comes in every time, and and
that's where's the next launch.

Speaker 4 (02:07:44):
It hurts his ears when he takes his helmino.

Speaker 5 (02:07:45):
Yeah, Texas overrated.

Speaker 4 (02:07:48):
Yeah yeah they were. Hey, I think we we called
that as a show here dick out.

Speaker 5 (02:07:53):
And if you heard that, Yeah, well let me tell
a little over in Missouri. The n Admer's is a
little enough door ANDV and we.

Speaker 4 (02:07:58):
Headed your I was gonna ask you where you are?

Speaker 6 (02:08:01):
Okay, so you're you're gonna be hitting Uh, you're gonna
be hitting campus?

Speaker 4 (02:08:04):
What time? Maybe Thursday?

Speaker 5 (02:08:06):
Probably I gotta get to for Thursday because we got
eleven o'clock start. So oh yeah, yeah, the adres be
wide open. All right, we'll be ready to go. Baby.

Speaker 4 (02:08:16):
All right, well, hey maybe we'll check in with you again.
Good luck be saved.

Speaker 5 (02:08:20):
Hey, Missouri, we're coming to show you, bro dad.

Speaker 1 (02:08:26):
This is the Rick Burgess show, Strange and Kellers, the

(02:08:48):
new podcast from Rick Burgess. Get it no wherever you
get podcasts.

Speaker 4 (02:08:54):
A brand new episode out this weekend.

Speaker 3 (02:08:58):
Uh and you can grab now episode sixteen of Strange
Encounters wherever you get podcasts. Well, it sounds like an
admires a rolling to Missouri. See all got him next?

Speaker 4 (02:09:10):
Once again. It just this is live in college football.

Speaker 19 (02:09:14):
Now.

Speaker 3 (02:09:14):
You you beat one undefeated team Vanderbilt, which you know,
we never thought that would be a big game, but
it was.

Speaker 19 (02:09:21):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (02:09:21):
And then now Bama goes on to play undefeated Missouri. Yeah,
so there you go.

Speaker 3 (02:09:26):
Uh, so you'll you'll you'll find uh, you'll find out,
you know, as time goes along. I heard somebody talking
about this this past weekend.

Speaker 4 (02:09:34):
I think it's.

Speaker 3 (02:09:35):
Gonna be extremely difficult for anybody in modern day college
football to be undefeated.

Speaker 4 (02:09:42):
The extremely different. It just I mean, it's it's tough
out there.

Speaker 3 (02:09:46):
But we'll see Missouri got a good football team and
so does Alabama, so that should be a great, great game. Uh.
Somebody somebody said something about THEO Vaughn that he has
stopped do doing everything. What does that mean?

Speaker 4 (02:10:01):
Drugs and clean?

Speaker 3 (02:10:04):
So please give him the credit he deserves. No, Hey,
he was he made the wild turkey comment in in
in game day. Yeah, I mean that that was that
was his comment, and so I mean he he may
have been just joking around, yeah and and so so
were we.

Speaker 4 (02:10:22):
Uh, but that he's the one that brought up wild turkey.

Speaker 3 (02:10:25):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (02:10:26):
Theovonne did in his time on, wasn't something else brought up?
And if he's straight in his life out, I don't.

Speaker 3 (02:10:32):
I don't know Theovonne. I've never heard, not one time
in my entire life until game day. First time I've
ever heard Theovaughn in my entire life. First time I
heard about him was when Andrew var Budis told me
they were friends. I didn't even know who was talking about.
I've never heard him. I don't know anything about him.
But if he's making decision to stop doing things that

(02:10:53):
can destroy lives from a person who who clean my
act up to, I say more power to him.

Speaker 4 (02:10:58):
But I don't know it.

Speaker 3 (02:10:59):
I don't know anything about him, don't know, don't know
who he was before, don't know who he is now.

Speaker 4 (02:11:04):
Saw him on game day and went with that.

Speaker 8 (02:11:08):
Yeah, No, just to kind of explain a little bit.
He's talked about it at length. I think it was cocaine,
really bad off, like ruining his life will absolutely and
uh luckily he got it straightened out and went on
to become incredibly uh successful comedian and broadcaster.

Speaker 4 (02:11:29):
Yeah, but and Rick wasn't. Rick wasn't making light of
that or anything like that. No, excuse me, Dicky.

Speaker 3 (02:11:33):
Sorry, hey, light that's also not real. Yeah, light up, Francis. Uh,
THEO was goofing off on game day. I would lighten up,
not take him too terribly serious, and I certainly wouldn't
take a character that we do as a joke serious.

Speaker 17 (02:11:48):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (02:11:48):
But the wild turkey.

Speaker 3 (02:11:50):
Comment that's spun into Dickie's comments came from THEO Vaughn's comments,
so that Jo it's joke. So I do hope that
he's cleaned those things up. But again, in the real world,
I don't know anything about the theovon nothing. I mean,
that shows how old you are when people are like

(02:12:10):
incredibly popular and you don't even know who they are.
You know what, I understand that the super Bowl is
talked to him. He's joining Bad Bunny for the super
Bowl halftime show.

Speaker 4 (02:12:20):
Yeah, Bad Bunny. He's fired back.

Speaker 3 (02:12:23):
Yeah, I'm mad Bunny. He's mad Bunny. I'm a little
mad Bunny. You know, he's not just bad Bunny, He's
he's mad Bunny.

Speaker 4 (02:12:31):
And so let me let me ask you a question.
Back to THEO.

Speaker 6 (02:12:35):
You know, ESPN Game Day they tried to spend it
as to why he was the guest picker and all that.
I wonder how it really played out, you know, because
you normally, normally they have someone that's that's you know,
the celebrity of where they're hosting, but they kind of
spun it into what he's he's here, And do you

(02:12:56):
think that do you think that they found out he
was gonna to be there or something with the family
and they were like, hey, let's just have him.

Speaker 4 (02:13:04):
I wonder how that really played out well.

Speaker 3 (02:13:06):
I think if it's kind of some of the things
we're learning in the industry now. It could be no
more complicated than the folks at ESPN realize that we
are all living in a new time and these influencers
bring mega people to your product. And THEO vonn is
a major influencer. Even though I don't know who he is,

(02:13:29):
that's irrelevant because he is and he's got a huge audience,
a huge following.

Speaker 4 (02:13:36):
And I think some of these.

Speaker 3 (02:13:39):
Broadcasters are learning you got to learn how to bring
that world to you and bring that audience to you.

Speaker 4 (02:13:46):
I mean, we're doing it. We're learning all this as
we go. It's a different formula now.

Speaker 3 (02:13:52):
Like I said before, we at one time, back in
the Rick Andmbubba days, we were accompanied that all of
our revenue was two streams of revenue.

Speaker 4 (02:14:01):
That's it. That's all we needed now to even be
half of what we once made, you got to have
five revenues streams of revenue. Uh So it's just a
different world.

Speaker 3 (02:14:14):
And I think that I think ESPN made a choice
that they thought would bring them the most audience back
to traditional terrestrial broadcast.

Speaker 4 (02:14:26):
Maybe so, but and it worked out because we does
have a tie to the.

Speaker 6 (02:14:29):
Post and I think he played it off well because
he has funny comment about no, that's really my right home. Yeah,
you know, I think I think he played it off
pretty good. And they actually a lot of folks were
laughing and cutting up about it.

Speaker 3 (02:14:39):
So. Yeah, the first time I ever saw him, you know,
the guy that does the show where you eat hot
wings and he asked you questions and keep bringing her
hotter wings.

Speaker 4 (02:14:46):
He was the guy, he was the guest and I've
never heard of it, right, and he was funny.

Speaker 3 (02:14:51):
And then now and then he that was before I
think even had a podcast, right, but he's getting very
popular and he does he has a tour doing stand up.

Speaker 4 (02:15:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:15:00):
So there you go back to Mad Bunny and a
lot of bad. I'm looking at some of these bad Bunny.
He's mad Bunny now, mad Bunny, Yeah, I would Now,
this is the this is the times. We're living in
Okay and Sherry and I we're talking about this over
the weekend, not about mad bad Bunny, mad, but on
other things out there. If you object now to the

(02:15:22):
things that we know about his filthiness, about his dressing
up as a woman, his all these things, if you
find that to be repulsive, you're not considered someone who's
with the times. You're an old fogie and you're some old,
washed up conservative And that's why you're mad at bad Bunny,

(02:15:45):
which means they think the things that this person represents
our mainstream and to not accept and endorse these things
and celebrate these things, you're the one that's out not
bad Bunny.

Speaker 4 (02:15:59):
I mean that's the hope.

Speaker 5 (02:16:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:16:01):
And so it's as if it's some fringe groups that
don't think he's a good choice. Now keep in mind,
this is the super Bowl, yeah, which at one time
was a mainstream family event.

Speaker 4 (02:16:16):
Not anymore.

Speaker 3 (02:16:18):
And if you would like for it to be, you're
not considered to be the desired audience. You're considered to
be out of touch.

Speaker 1 (02:16:25):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Tickets are on sale

(02:17:18):
from text Nation.

Speaker 4 (02:17:19):
Absolutely true. I agree with you. Also, the bad.

Speaker 3 (02:17:23):
Bunny you pick for halftime is the NFL trying to
open up to more markets in Spanish speaking countries. He's
one of the biggest pop artists in the Latino and
Latina community.

Speaker 4 (02:17:37):
Plain and simple. Probably true. I think there's probably some
truth to that too.

Speaker 3 (02:17:41):
I agree with you, and they're not really paying attention
to some of the things that he does with his music,
and you know, maybe they need to go with something
cleaner like the new Taylor Swift album.

Speaker 4 (02:17:51):
Wow Wow Wow some of the lyrics in that Wow.

Speaker 3 (02:17:57):
It always starts out as something innocent and fun, doesn't it,
And then all of a sudden before you know it.
Of course, as Greg said, when you make a deal
with the devil, eventually he wants you to do these guys,
you're concerned about that one, aren't you. As far as
those that made it a deal with the devil, how
disappoint aren't look more like it?

Speaker 17 (02:18:14):
You know?

Speaker 3 (02:18:15):
Like I brought it up before on the show, a
lot of things have happened since the time my daughter
saw her at Sax High School and Jim Nay's in performing.
She had one song out yep, got her picture made.
Whether my daughter's probably fourteen at the time, I think, uh,
long long first of all, a lot of success. But
you look at that image. How I'm say, I'm a
little singer songwriter.

Speaker 4 (02:18:35):
Look at me.

Speaker 3 (02:18:35):
I'm cute to the latest one. When I read the
lyrics the other day that she wrote to her boyfriend, Wow.

Speaker 4 (02:18:41):
It's not good guys, Wow, wow, a little different song.

Speaker 3 (02:18:45):
Are you trying to are you trying to say, I
know that she got got out from you know, on
her own way. Did Greg just say that in Calhoun
County he not only discovered Riley Green, he also discovered
Taylor Swift in a way and away, I think that
just happened. No, that's not true, Greg, the Calhoun County
Talents County. I just came amazed that she was actually
playing in Cahaun County. Yes, of course, here's many mean.

(02:19:08):
I think when she had that one song at Tim
McGrath's song, well, and we talked about this a little
bit on strange encounters.

Speaker 4 (02:19:14):
And again I'm I'm not saying that, I'm just we
did talk about but no, no, but we did talk
about this.

Speaker 9 (02:19:19):
Greg.

Speaker 4 (02:19:19):
I think there is a point here though.

Speaker 3 (02:19:21):
You know, if you decide that you're going to be
godless or your own version of God like you have
to be God's pr agent.

Speaker 4 (02:19:31):
You'll decide how he should behave and what he actually
says or doesn't it say.

Speaker 3 (02:19:35):
But wow, But anyway, so when we at the end
of the day, if you go back to the fall
of all mankind we talked about this yesterday at church,
if you go back to the what did what did
Satan sell everybody on?

Speaker 4 (02:19:49):
You can't trust him? You think you're gonna let him
decide what's wrong or right? Tell about God?

Speaker 3 (02:19:54):
Why don't you decide that for yourself? Now that was
the arrangement. You have everything you need. You get to
fellowship with me, the one and only living God. I've
breathed my life into your into your lungs, and created you,
and we can live in harmony with everything provided is.
You just have to trust me to decide what's right

(02:20:14):
and wrong, and that I look after your own good.
And Satan came and said he can't be trusted with that.
He's trying to withhold that decision from you. You should
decide what's right and wrong. And of course humanity bought
in and and you know I'm simplifying it, but that
is the bottom line. And so that is our struggle.
We want to be in charge. We don't want him

(02:20:37):
to be in charge. We want to decide what we
do and don't do. And we'll go as far as
even decide who he can be or not be. Will
be his public relations campaign. He can't say the things
he says about certain things because it seems mean, seems
like that's not what we want. So what you but
so what you see is id greg is your point

(02:20:57):
is someone like Taylor Swift they be I'm huge, really
being family, being huge, audience, mamas wanted to take their
little girls to go see her, and then all of
a sudden that's not good enough anymore. But I don't
understand when when when artists want to make this transition
you Miley Cyrus' is you Taylor Swifts? They want to

(02:21:20):
make this your Britney spears. They want to make this transition.
I don't want to be treated like a little girl anymore.
Why do we think that you're a woman if you
start being nasty?

Speaker 4 (02:21:32):
That's not what I get. Why at this age you're
not going to want to be treated like But when
you were fourteen, right, you would almost do the opposite.

Speaker 3 (02:21:38):
Say, one way to stop acting like a child is
they act more like children when they are out there
trying to be women and be independent, they act.

Speaker 4 (02:21:48):
Like they have no maturity whatsoever. They're not making mature.

Speaker 3 (02:21:51):
They start acting like there you know, little kids who
just learned how to say bad words and dress like
a dressed like a tramp and and and begin that
actually seems less like a mature woman and more like
an immature female.

Speaker 4 (02:22:06):
So I, Brick, you just nailed it right there, without
even listening to the new album.

Speaker 2 (02:22:12):
I am.

Speaker 8 (02:22:13):
I'm pretty close to a person that has been a
big fan, Yes, that has been a big fan for
a long time.

Speaker 4 (02:22:20):
Yeah, and you that's exactly what she said, Rick, But
I didn't even know that.

Speaker 8 (02:22:25):
It's like she's a kid that just learned how to cuss. Yeah,
And it just feels weird and forced and odd. And
you know, I think Taylor Swift probably heard a lot
of the complaints. She's thirty five years old and she's
been writing kind of break high school breakup songs and
she's in her mid thirties. Yeah, I get that, and

(02:22:46):
I think that there's a fair criticism there. And I
think that she heard some of that and said, Okay,
well then I can and instead of going more mature
and viewing your relationships in a more mature way, unfortun
she's taking a step in another direction.

Speaker 5 (02:23:02):
And it is.

Speaker 14 (02:23:03):
It is.

Speaker 8 (02:23:05):
It's a choice, and I am sad about it, honestly,
for a lot of little girls. There are so many
tiny little girls that just idolize her, and it's just
like it's she's done now in for them and so.

Speaker 4 (02:23:19):
Yes, so influential.

Speaker 8 (02:23:20):
I had high hopes for this, honestly, for her to
kind of maybe mature a little bit, getting getting a
steady relationship and be a good example.

Speaker 4 (02:23:28):
For all the girls that idolize her. And it doesn't
look that is look like that's that was your dream.

Speaker 3 (02:23:34):
It was, but you made the point you can grow
up and do more adult themes. That doesn't equal be nasty. Right,
Like you said, talk about looking for a husband versus
a boyfriend, you know, I mean, talk about that, talk
about whatever.

Speaker 4 (02:23:52):
I mean, way in on you know, important things.

Speaker 3 (02:23:56):
But this almost comes across, like you say, is kind
of silly. Yeah, kind of kind of embarrassing a little bit.
Look at me, I'm gonna be bad, right and we've
seen them all do that, and it's just embarrassing.

Speaker 8 (02:24:07):
And especially with her super her pretty clean background, I
should say. Yeah, And there there are struggles in life,
different in different periods of your life. There's you're always
gonna have struggles.

Speaker 4 (02:24:20):
Right about that, right, you know?

Speaker 3 (02:24:22):
Walking back, the most famous person in the world that
comes with a lot of them, got all kinds of
things about and those could be some incredible lyrics, and
she's kind of dabbling that I think a few times,
but you could do it at as a much more
mature level. I don't know, And so that does make
me wonder sometimes because if I'm now, I've made it

(02:24:43):
so I can do whatever I want. And then you
start doing things that looks like things that young people
do to try to make it. Now you're doing them
after you made it, So it makes you kind of
wonder who they answer to, because as soon as the
platform is as big as it can possibly be, we
go nasty.

Speaker 8 (02:25:01):
And the more I see if Travis Kelcey on the
sidelines having these run ins with his coach and things
like that, he he doesn't seem very mature either, and
that that's that when you have two immature people trying
to be in a relationship together, that that's that's tough.

Speaker 4 (02:25:16):
Interesting, that's very hard.

Speaker 6 (02:25:17):
And I was unaware that she had a movie out
until I was doing Well, No it's it was. It
was a movie kind of showcasing her new album, uh
and everything and behind the scene, kind of like.

Speaker 3 (02:25:31):
When Kanye used to walk around in the similar any
record play through watch him.

Speaker 4 (02:25:37):
Listen to I Have No idea.

Speaker 6 (02:25:38):
I just know it hit theaters and it was like
it grossed like thirty three million dollars, and I was
unaware of just doing show prep. I was looking and
I asked Adler about it.

Speaker 5 (02:25:47):
I was like, what is this?

Speaker 9 (02:25:48):
Yeah?

Speaker 14 (02:25:48):
It was?

Speaker 4 (02:25:49):
Is it like a promotional movie for the new album?
Bottom line?

Speaker 8 (02:25:53):
It almost been like almost like a listening party movie
kind of, And it's.

Speaker 4 (02:25:58):
Like, yeah, it really is. And there I think just
lyric videos.

Speaker 8 (02:26:01):
Meaning like the words show up on the screen. I
think one music video we did premiere. But again from
people who have been following this very closely that I'm
close to, uh, it just seems like there's it just
seems like money grab after money grab after money grab,
which is odd because she doesn't really need money.

Speaker 3 (02:26:20):
So the person that you know, yes, are they done,
They're they're done, They're really So she's lost that person
as a yeah, as a fan, yes?

Speaker 4 (02:26:29):
Wow? Okay? Yeah, So whoever that is, right, who whoever
that person is? All right, we come back. We got
more to cover today.

Speaker 3 (02:26:39):
We'll get another unscreen phone calls in before we're done today,
but we have other things to cover.

Speaker 4 (02:26:45):
So there, there's that up there. And so we've we've
got a bunny mad now and we've got.

Speaker 10 (02:26:54):
Nasty.

Speaker 5 (02:26:55):
It's just we'll be right back.

Speaker 1 (02:26:58):
This is the Rick Where'd your show?

Speaker 3 (02:29:13):
Just Like Jenny from Tennessee, a couple of things in
the in the world that is political we have from
President Trump. You know, we got a government shutdown? Guys,
did y'all know them? There's a government shutdown going on.

Speaker 4 (02:29:26):
You may not know this.

Speaker 3 (02:29:28):
Trump says to the troops that every last penny coming
to them despite the ongoing government shutdown. He said, I
want you to know that despite all the current Democrat
induced shutdown, we will get our service members every last penny.

Speaker 4 (02:29:44):
Don't worry about it. It's all coming to you.

Speaker 3 (02:29:47):
So so, Trump also was there when a Navy FA
eighteen breaks the sound barrier right in front of Trump,
and he didn' name Flint.

Speaker 4 (02:30:00):
So so here here is that footage. We can't hear you.

Speaker 8 (02:30:07):
Boy, all right, he's right on the deck of the
aircraft carry It's really amazing.

Speaker 4 (02:30:17):
There, it goes. Would y'all like to be there? Yes,
that would be cool. That would be cool. That would
be cool.

Speaker 20 (02:30:26):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (02:30:27):
Next, guys, I know, guys, Kamala Harris, is she all right?
I don't think I've been asking that for a while.

Speaker 8 (02:30:39):
You know, when you lose a presidential election, you gotta
do something wild.

Speaker 4 (02:30:42):
Like al Gore grew the beard.

Speaker 3 (02:30:44):
Remember it made him crazy? He was he was crazy
and I'm a man dancing It look like Snoopy. It
Charlie Brown's party.

Speaker 4 (02:30:52):
He hit his craziness when he was running, but he lost.
It's like he didn't care anymore. Like I'm crazy. You
heard from and you think Kamala is in the same vote?

Speaker 9 (02:31:00):
I do.

Speaker 8 (02:31:01):
Yeah's you can tell this is so prepared. Also, I
don't know where she's speaking. She's speaking from some audience here,
and she's going to bring that line out again talking
about how it was the closest presidential racing history or
twenty first it was a blowout, absolute blowout.

Speaker 17 (02:31:16):
And here's the other thing that.

Speaker 19 (02:31:18):
Is quite unprecedented, and standing up, it was the tightest,
closest president.

Speaker 4 (02:31:41):
You got, girl? What an election?

Speaker 1 (02:31:43):
Was she looking?

Speaker 4 (02:31:44):
What?

Speaker 17 (02:31:44):
Guy?

Speaker 4 (02:31:44):
What the what in the world? Seriously?

Speaker 3 (02:31:48):
Huh yeah, they said diego. Pavier has a very similar
speech today. The game was actually very close.

Speaker 11 (02:31:55):
It was not.

Speaker 4 (02:31:57):
So what are you talking? What do we am?

Speaker 3 (02:32:00):
I not remembering it right now? She's I mean, yeah,
it was not a mandate. You're a delusion. This is
back to this fake world they create and thing was
over from the get go. And I guess if you're
some leftist that was so far into the left you
actually voted for Kamala Harris. Are you in some Kamala

(02:32:21):
Harris echo chamber where you now are starting to believe
that you your candidate almost won.

Speaker 4 (02:32:29):
Somebody helped me with this. It's definitely rewriting history. Guys.

Speaker 3 (02:32:34):
I remember like going there was never doubt. I think
I can go to bed now, there's no need of
a stay up. I mean, I'm sitting here looking the
electoral vote account.

Speaker 4 (02:32:44):
Donald J. Trump three hundred and twelve, Kamala to twenty six. Okay,
that's not closed.

Speaker 5 (02:32:51):
Got her?

Speaker 8 (02:32:53):
Also he won the popular vote. Also, he won every
swing state, every single swing every single one.

Speaker 3 (02:32:58):
Yeah, everyone one of them, Yeah, everybody. They didn't have
the popular you know, the first time. This time they did,
so they couldn't use it. Even democrat strategist you know
that are at least mentally stable. What did they all say, Hey,
we better, we better change how we're doing things as
a mandate. Yeah, but I guess she doesn't. This is
not where who would go and hear her speak? Where

(02:33:22):
is she speaking?

Speaker 5 (02:33:24):
What is this?

Speaker 4 (02:33:24):
Probably got a pretty good check. Is she the opening
act for Bad Bunny?

Speaker 7 (02:33:27):
What is it?

Speaker 17 (02:33:30):
Well?

Speaker 4 (02:33:30):
How scripted.

Speaker 8 (02:33:31):
That was for her to stand up and say it
when the way that she said it, because she throws
in an and in there that does not even doesn't
even fit.

Speaker 4 (02:33:39):
Can we watch it again? I'm just quite unprecedented.

Speaker 17 (02:33:46):
And gosh, it was the tightest closest credit.

Speaker 4 (02:34:06):
Where are you going to that it ain't the White House? No,
Trump got over seventy seven million votes.

Speaker 10 (02:34:13):
M hmmm.

Speaker 5 (02:34:16):
And and so is she.

Speaker 4 (02:34:20):
Okay, so she's closest twenty first century?

Speaker 8 (02:34:26):
And yeah, she's saying the twenty first century because it
sounds better. But everybody knows that's just from like two
thousand and one on right. Everybody knows that.

Speaker 4 (02:34:41):
It's been what ma'am.

Speaker 3 (02:34:42):
Okay, I'll give her that the last year of the
twentieth century. It was Gore Bush and it went down
to Chad's and it was real close.

Speaker 6 (02:34:55):
And Adler to your point about it being scripted, it
wasn't a word salad like a texture is sy.

Speaker 4 (02:35:00):
So we know it was scripted. It's a memorial would
have been a word salad.

Speaker 3 (02:35:03):
Final political update, at least for right now, CNN is
sad that there may be a Gaza ceasefire because Trump
will get credit for it and and the ceasefire has
made them sad.

Speaker 8 (02:35:14):
So here, yeah, just the fact that Trump may get
credit for it. They can't even say it. No, and
if President Trump is able to do this, this is
a major it's a major victory for him.

Speaker 17 (02:35:25):
Look, it is challenging to to actually hear that piece
of you know, Trump being potentially being the one to
get the ceasefire deal. But I think where we are,
what we are seeing now is that a lot of
people are tired of the devastation that's happening to the
Palestinian people. And so how do we figure out a
way a path forward.

Speaker 4 (02:35:46):
Yes, it's okay. I love what's starting out. It's okay.

Speaker 3 (02:35:53):
You know if Trump, you negotiates a ceasefire, y'all, y'all
can be okay with that.

Speaker 4 (02:35:58):
Yes, it's all right. Some things can be by partisan.
It's okay.

Speaker 3 (02:36:02):
Nobody has to cry, nobody has to have come apart.
Top of the hour, Thanks for being with us.

Speaker 1 (02:36:09):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 4 (02:36:18):
America Show, right America. Here we go, Speedy, Greg Adler.

Speaker 3 (02:36:32):
All here, we've been recapping the weekend casting from the
red stream. Phone calls coming this hour. If you missed
any of the show prior to now. You've missed weekend updates,
a lot of trips, the crap run stories from the
road in Tennessee. Last night, Dicky Nadmire has called. So

(02:36:57):
you've missed a lot, but go back and catch that
on the archive on your own time. Starting this hour,
a couple of stories. This is you know, my our
friends who love the show in Arkansas. I've got a
buddy that keeps showing me on his game camera more
and more bears.

Speaker 15 (02:37:16):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (02:37:16):
And now we have a story.

Speaker 3 (02:37:18):
Man dies and likely bear attack at Arkansas campsite days
after sending photos of the animal to the family. He's
a Missouri man, but he was in Arkansas. How about
this if we knew that, like the game cameras we're
looking at right now, getting ready for tell us from
the camp house this year, and we're all jacked, We're
ready to go, got our you know, camp house shirts,

(02:37:40):
and we can't wait. And all of a sudden, I
send y'all like I send them deer when I see
good dear, I sent it out to the guys. What
if all of a sudden I said, hey, guys, and
I started sending you pictures of a bear would that
change your approach going in and out of the woods.

Speaker 4 (02:37:54):
Yeah, yeah, it would, It would change, It would because
I know he's there. Yeah, maybe bring less snacks, yes, Unfortunately,
throw the snacks and maybe he'll go to them.

Speaker 3 (02:38:06):
Unfortunately, he was found dead they think looks like from
a bear attack, only two days after he sent his
family photos.

Speaker 4 (02:38:16):
Of the bear.

Speaker 3 (02:38:18):
Anybody had six year old. His body was several hundred
yards from the camp site.

Speaker 1 (02:38:24):
Had been dragged.

Speaker 4 (02:38:27):
They'll drag you. Extensive injuries to the body. I'll leave
it at the mhm. I bet he had food around,
He's coming in to get it.

Speaker 3 (02:38:37):
How about when they when they were'd it this way?
Extensive injuries consistent with those expected from a large carnivore attack.
Oh well, you remember the guy who did the documentary
Living with the Bears?

Speaker 4 (02:38:51):
Yes, I do. You remember his final entry?

Speaker 1 (02:38:52):
Don't you?

Speaker 4 (02:38:54):
You remember his final entry, A new bear has arrived.
Have you ever watched that bit that? Yeah? That guy's
a weird though. And what was it like bear man
or something?

Speaker 11 (02:39:02):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (02:39:04):
How about the footage of the end?

Speaker 17 (02:39:05):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (02:39:05):
I know, and you can hear the audio his girlfriend
What a bad time to show up?

Speaker 2 (02:39:09):
M hm.

Speaker 4 (02:39:10):
No, he was he would do just he was, he
was off his he'd be from here to the.

Speaker 3 (02:39:16):
Talking about him. And of course they killed him. He
was their animals. Yeah, he grizz don't hang out with
Grizzly chance. You have a sure enough RV.

Speaker 4 (02:39:26):
Yeah you have a good one.

Speaker 3 (02:39:27):
Also, not a great story here either. But Baylen Miller,
twenty three, Alaskan mountain climber. The problem with so much
documentation now is that now people can document their falls
and and like we heard in that other case, a
bear eating you. None of us want that, no Ray.

(02:39:49):
But here is someone who was trying to climb El Capitan.

Speaker 4 (02:39:54):
Yeah seventy.

Speaker 8 (02:39:55):
So this Baylen Miller kid is twenty three years old.
He's an Alaska mountain climber, so very experienced, skilled, and
people call him the orange tent climber because he's always
got his orange tent with him and he'll put her
on the sides of the mountains as he's as he's
orange scaling up these things.

Speaker 4 (02:40:14):
I don't know, what about hanging off the side, That's
what I'm talking about.

Speaker 8 (02:40:18):
Yes, it's crazy. And the person that was streaming is
actually actually just a fan of mountain climbing and national parks,
and so this person sets up cameras all the time
and will live stream these mountain climbers and y'all this
this Baylon Miller, twenty three year old, actually got to

(02:40:40):
the top. So got to the top of El Capitan.
There's evidently like a a a staging area where you
can kind of lock in or or get get out
of your harnesses and things like that.

Speaker 4 (02:40:51):
Evidently there was a bag that.

Speaker 8 (02:40:53):
Was stuck lower down, farther down, so Baylon Miller is
going back down to get that bag unstuck. There's another
person you can see, here's Baylon Miller at the top.
This video is being filmed from the ground with like
a like a watch a major scope, but Baylon Miller
is the one up top.

Speaker 4 (02:41:11):
And Baylon Miller is gonna be going back for a
stuck bag.

Speaker 8 (02:41:15):
And oh, I've got music rolling, but you can there's
there's no audio of the actual climb. Uh, But it
looks like Baylan was just distracted or something because he
repelled past the bottom of his rope and you're going
to see him fall right here.

Speaker 4 (02:41:28):
And that's that, y'all ran out of rope?

Speaker 8 (02:41:32):
Is there not like a stop on the right right
you would think so, but I think you got to
run it through things so much.

Speaker 4 (02:41:37):
That you can't have a stop on there. Wow wow, But.

Speaker 3 (02:41:40):
Y'all have a guy full of experience and talent and all,
and he's still everybody mess up.

Speaker 4 (02:41:46):
Yeah right, We've talked about it before.

Speaker 8 (02:41:49):
We can't have a hobby like this because if you
you know, if you if you mess one thing up,
that can be it. And and he unfortunately felt the
entire distance of El Capitan too.

Speaker 3 (02:42:00):
But I mean the guy with that experience, you know,
way he goes and if he follows, it's got to
be something breaked or something.

Speaker 4 (02:42:07):
But just to go by the end of the rope,
that's to your point. He was in He was just
in a in a hurry, I guess, and you just
stopped thinking.

Speaker 8 (02:42:15):
Thought he was done. Kind of thing, you know, and
witness describes it. This guy that streams this stuff is
Mountain Scaling dot m E. His name is Eric and
he he was just streaming it because he's very interested
in this stuff.

Speaker 4 (02:42:32):
There's people that do this with surfing, like they'll just
set up a camera and him in the water. Yeah,
so that is very sad. Was he streaming? So he
was streaming live when that.

Speaker 8 (02:42:42):
Happened people, He said, about one hundred people were watching
live and now it's obviously viral.

Speaker 4 (02:42:49):
More people.

Speaker 3 (02:42:51):
Also adding to this for those of you that may
be thinking about climbing, blizzard traps hundreds on Mount Everest
as rescue teams to save lives. Massive and sudden blizzard
on Mount Everest the Tibetan slopes trapped nearly a thousand hikers.
This thing with you ever seen when it shows a

(02:43:12):
footage of how many people are lined up at one
kind of ruins it.

Speaker 4 (02:43:16):
Yeah, it's ruined.

Speaker 3 (02:43:17):
Yeah, I mean it really is. With three hundred and
fifty have reached safety, but the rest have not. And
they did not expect this storm. It kind of came
out of nowhere.

Speaker 4 (02:43:26):
So that's when people get their nose froze off and
stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (02:43:30):
Yes, you're right, So somebody is saying to add or
to check on the other was was the tandem came loose?

Speaker 19 (02:43:39):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (02:43:39):
Or do you say it looks more like he ran
on a rope.

Speaker 8 (02:43:41):
According to this guy that films a bunch of this stuff,
Baylon Miller, was going back down to get to unstuck
a bag that they were trying to get to the top,
and he just repelled past.

Speaker 4 (02:43:52):
The end of the end of his rope. The warld
I thought he had more rope.

Speaker 3 (02:43:57):
Well, those those things you know, when you do something,
you do it so well and you're so confident. Sometimes
it's always these just simple things because it's become so
routine for you. And you know, when it comes to
life and death, it can never become routine.

Speaker 4 (02:44:12):
You can't lose the fear.

Speaker 3 (02:44:13):
Yeah, And I'm quoting the conversation I had with the
pilot last night, and he said the same thing.

Speaker 4 (02:44:18):
You know, it's like, yes, you know this.

Speaker 3 (02:44:20):
You gotta you gotta every time, you gotta pretend like
you you know, you got you gotta do that checklist,
that checklist, gotta be there.

Speaker 4 (02:44:27):
Well and look it.

Speaker 6 (02:44:29):
There's been lots of folks that unfortunately have fallen when
climbing to the Yeah, but one that just jumps out
of me was it was an expert and he just
got lazy because he does it so much.

Speaker 4 (02:44:41):
That's what in his mind.

Speaker 6 (02:44:42):
He just was like, Okay, this is just another day,
I know, and you get careless because it's so easy
to you.

Speaker 4 (02:44:48):
Yep, that's uh, that's it.

Speaker 3 (02:44:50):
So there you go and they're saying that the thing
that we're talking about, this tandem was actually another that
said it was a skydiving incident.

Speaker 4 (02:44:58):
Okay, so there that got trapped in between a couple
of different days.

Speaker 3 (02:45:01):
I think that was in Nashville. Yeah, they're saying it
was in Nashville. It was a tandem thing like you
did in the person came loose.

Speaker 4 (02:45:09):
And they have no pursues.

Speaker 2 (02:45:10):
What Wow.

Speaker 4 (02:45:11):
Apparently from the text, we'll be right back home.

Speaker 1 (02:45:16):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. The people who don't
like this show, you wouldn't like anyway, the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 4 (02:45:39):
Yeah, come on right, it cares. Thanks for being with
us America.

Speaker 3 (02:45:44):
Here we go.

Speaker 4 (02:45:46):
Take Lean dot Com.

Speaker 3 (02:45:48):
I know, by the way, remind me to tell you
something to break about somebody I heard it was and
tried some of the no, they tried other other ways.

Speaker 4 (02:45:58):
I got and or something. I don't think I've ever heard. Idea.
It's a interesting conversation I had in small town Tennessee. Uh.
Takelean dot Com. I know if you're like me, enough
with the shots.

Speaker 3 (02:46:14):
Okay, I've just heard about shots all I can hear
about you know, do you all just feel like when
you sit down that everything you watch on TV, everybody's
trying to get taken on the show, it's taking another one.

Speaker 4 (02:46:22):
So if you're looking for things so that.

Speaker 3 (02:46:24):
Can help you, but you'd like to go more natural,
there's a concept takelean dot com. Uh, if you are
someone who has been doing the weight cycling, take weight off,
I put it back on, I take waight off, I
put it back on.

Speaker 4 (02:46:39):
Very unhealthy, really unhealthy. Uh.

Speaker 3 (02:46:44):
It puts a lot of stress on on on. I'm
talking about your your major organs. It increases, you know,
your probability to have sugar problems, you know, heart issues, stroke.
So if you if, if you'd like to think about
maybe a more natural approach to now take it off

(02:47:05):
and you know, and then keep it off. Tate line
dot com nonpnscription. It helps control naturally, naturally, your appetite, naturally,
your your blood sugar clean energy. Body's gonna respond to
this by burning fat for energy. So if you'd like
to find more, go to tate line dot com. All

(02:47:25):
the information is there. Use the code big vox get
twenty percent off. Also, there is a link at Rick
Burgess show dot com under the sponsors button. All right,
so here's some of those stories. Nashville skydiving instructor. It
has passed away after falling without the parrot, without a parachute.

(02:47:48):
So this is adrenaline sports story's gone bad. Yeah, this
is a skydiving instructor.

Speaker 4 (02:47:55):
Okay, instructor after a tandem jump went wrong over the weekend.

Speaker 19 (02:47:59):
All right.

Speaker 3 (02:48:00):
So apparently the skydiver, as people were saying, separated, became
separated at the plane from a tandem rig cole with
an instructor. The other skydivers who jumped moments earlier landed safely.
The plan the plane landed safely. The student who was

(02:48:23):
jumping was lodged in a tree with an open parachute
and is expected to be okay. So the instructor is
the one that fail when they separated. He really got
the worst end of.

Speaker 4 (02:48:35):
The deal separated. So I'm trying to figure out, y'all.
Imagine being the student.

Speaker 8 (02:48:39):
You're there, goes your instructor by you're then you're there,
you're hanging in and you come down in your parachute
and you land in a tree.

Speaker 3 (02:48:48):
I live, So let me walk this out in my
mind here. So we have an instructor, it says, okay,
so he's on the back. No, it sounds like the
instructors on the front and the student is on the
back teaching him. We got it and the instructor. So
the student probably scraped something up.

Speaker 4 (02:49:04):
Let's just call it. Oh, I don't know, you don't know.

Speaker 6 (02:49:08):
I know that when I tanned him that one time
and the clips you know that you clip on. I
remember thinking I looked at that clip and I was like,
so that's that's what that clips got me.

Speaker 4 (02:49:18):
That's it.

Speaker 3 (02:49:18):
Didn't walk right out that door. The person of the
man riding speedy got on ground said I need to
do that again.

Speaker 4 (02:49:25):
Greg, that's wrong. I don't know what's wrong with you.
Please stop, but we go to we have to unhook.

Speaker 8 (02:49:31):
We could stay together for a little while.

Speaker 4 (02:49:34):
You want to go eat some food. Yes, a guy
died here, that's right. I guy died. We're talking about
you though, that's what we're talking doing what he loves
some as you got me liking it. Yeah, somebody died here. Guys,
don't look at me, look at baby brother. That's a
guy that dies. Justin Fuller, Greg nicknamed Spotty. I got
a bad fan. I got a bad fan. The student

(02:49:56):
messed up.

Speaker 3 (02:49:56):
He's was known by his friends as an experienced guy
to over thousands of jumps.

Speaker 8 (02:50:01):
Wow, if this, if the student messed it up, the
instructors him being there should be you can you should
be able to see it and fix it.

Speaker 4 (02:50:08):
In my mind, I'm not going to put it on
the student.

Speaker 5 (02:50:13):
Student.

Speaker 3 (02:50:14):
That is what he's like getting your pilot's license, you know,
certified pilot or instructors.

Speaker 4 (02:50:19):
You know he's letting you fly or she is. No.
But I'm just saying that's what I'm I'm assuming happened
that he's he's training the student. That's what it could be.
Messed up. Also, you got the student mess.

Speaker 3 (02:50:33):
Wouldn't you. Well a lot of times if verson, we
don't know what happened. But Greg apparently is going way
in But uh, if you look at the situation, I
can see where he would go. I'm gonna go there first,
but you probably want to wait till the information is
actually out for something. You look at that tandem and go,
that went bad. Well it was a student and an instructor.
You immediately go a student right, and you could be proven.

Speaker 4 (02:50:54):
And the student just landed in some tree. Yeah, he's
hanging in a tree after he messed the jump up right,
think about it. We don't know that.

Speaker 8 (02:51:02):
No, guys, look I'm seeing the student said. This is
my first and last jump. The student said, after watching
his instructor fall unharnessed.

Speaker 4 (02:51:12):
This is first jump. Hey, look, you're being the tandem,
I guess, being in charge of the town. You pulling,
you're doing this.

Speaker 17 (02:51:20):
Like that.

Speaker 3 (02:51:21):
And all of a sudden he just gone, He's like,
I know, And next thing he knows, he's hanging out
of a tree.

Speaker 11 (02:51:26):
Right.

Speaker 8 (02:51:26):
The student was stranded in the parachute for hours in
a weird area near.

Speaker 4 (02:51:30):
He couldn't find it all right, Yes, it's better to
be stranded in the tree. Then the instructor was found later. Wow,
I'll take the tree.

Speaker 5 (02:51:38):
I will.

Speaker 4 (02:51:38):
It's the long eight hours. But yeah, that's all right.

Speaker 3 (02:51:41):
I'm hugging. I'm just happy right there. It could be
worse now. Granted, this harness is getting little tight on me.
But yeah, by the way, they said that this is
how it would be. They they found mister Burgess because
of his blood curdling scream.

Speaker 4 (02:51:53):
I can't believe I'm alive. Yes, I'm still here, I
still say, the student did. Wow, we don't know gress
is hard that's wow.

Speaker 3 (02:52:04):
That's the student's hard right that somewhere until they prove
me different, which they might. Their family could be listening.

Speaker 1 (02:52:10):
This is terrible.

Speaker 5 (02:52:10):
Don't do this.

Speaker 6 (02:52:11):
Yeah, speaking of terrible, you can do that. Black County story, speedy.
I'm just as close to home, Bluck County, Alabama.

Speaker 4 (02:52:20):
Close to home? Why would you? What are we doing today?
I mean some tragic stories?

Speaker 11 (02:52:24):
You know?

Speaker 4 (02:52:25):
Are we saying today? You think you think you can
get through this Monday? Try again? Like you think you
had a bad weekend or whatever. You think you had
a back. This is your You're upset, it's Monday. Well,
at least you're having a Monday, you know, Well, this
one was awful. This is this is the worst. Now,

(02:52:46):
this is the most awful. What about the dog ever?

Speaker 3 (02:52:50):
I mean an investigations underway after one was found dead
and dismembered by dogs. Guys dead and dismembered? What kind
of dogs were Blunt County home? Just rate it like
it's got uh late sixties. My second discovered about four
p m. Saturday at her home.

Speaker 4 (02:53:09):
Bama was playing yep, Okay, I'm just thinking what I
was doing right? And uh, I'll get ready for the
ground have to say Bama's playing.

Speaker 10 (02:53:19):
I just left.

Speaker 9 (02:53:21):
Listen to Christewart.

Speaker 4 (02:53:22):
I'm still watching. I was watching at the house. I
hadn't even left.

Speaker 3 (02:53:25):
It likely cause of death. Attacked by dogs. Oh no,
that's the cause of it. And that believed to be
her own.

Speaker 4 (02:53:33):
Oh wow, she falling has to be big dogs.

Speaker 9 (02:53:39):
Says.

Speaker 4 (02:53:40):
There was a welfare check. Oh, not the welfare. Her
neighbors became concerned. They've not seen her in three weeks.
Oh good, that's hungry. So is it possible that she
passed away with something else?

Speaker 3 (02:53:55):
That's what I was wondering. And they and they went
to the bowl for the last time and nothing was there.
Possible I mean, I don't know that's possible.

Speaker 4 (02:54:03):
Greg.

Speaker 3 (02:54:04):
I'm sure, Greg, you're ready to weigh on it and
tell us exactly what happened. I'm going that way that
she died of some other They didn't attack her.

Speaker 5 (02:54:11):
She just died.

Speaker 4 (02:54:11):
And then they they were said, three weeks. Somebody nobody's
in her. Three weeks, that's possible. Somebody hear a dog
barking from the insiders, right, you would think the house
it might be recluse.

Speaker 2 (02:54:24):
Yeah, you.

Speaker 4 (02:54:27):
And didn't say how many dogs. That helps me, I
don't know. That's tough.

Speaker 3 (02:54:33):
It is.

Speaker 4 (02:54:34):
It's a real chop. I was gonna do unscreened phone
calls right here. I almost felt like I should do
one more segment than do it. Well. I had another
horror story. I had another more lighthearted, but it's a
dog story. So now I'm not doing it. I mean,
I think you had a bad weekend until that. Tell
us about your weekend, folks falling?

Speaker 1 (02:54:55):
Yeah, yeah, this is the reck show. This is what

(02:55:20):
Trump had in mind when he sought to make America greater.
Day the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 4 (02:55:28):
Thank you America for hanging out with us today. Some
people are I don't know if they know this.

Speaker 3 (02:55:34):
Someone's saying that there was also this unfortunate situation with
this woman, that she had a cat as well, and
a strange backhanded blessing.

Speaker 4 (02:55:45):
Apparently the cat was very finicky. Rick burke what he
was looking for? A non line? Oh, Greg enough.

Speaker 3 (02:55:56):
Everybody's wondering if you're gonna blame some student on this too.
First one, yep, I mean bad time. I'm saying she
died of another that I don't think the dog's killed,
and that student skyd Nova may had something to do with.

Speaker 4 (02:56:10):
It, but I don't know what.

Speaker 3 (02:56:11):
Okay, well, we'll go ahead, and I can't believe it.

Speaker 4 (02:56:14):
We will do the what about the dog segment?

Speaker 3 (02:56:16):
Because it feels like this is something we've been bringing
to everyone's attention and society is joining us.

Speaker 4 (02:56:25):
What about the dum It just all feels wrong right now.

Speaker 3 (02:56:29):
But let me dogs treated like family and married your
American city now face canine cancel culture? While dogs are
man's best friends, not always, it depends on they are

(02:56:52):
causing a stir. In San Francisco, of all places, residents
are sharing their grievances and guys, it sound almost like
a ton of our What about the dog segments?

Speaker 4 (02:57:02):
I heard they were sick of it, Greg. You know
it says Greg. It says our city is running out
of patience with these dogs. Here we go, the worst
dogs in grocery stores. Oh yeah, which, by the way,
is I health co violation.

Speaker 8 (02:57:18):
We've had it up to here.

Speaker 4 (02:57:22):
I'm saying, right here.

Speaker 3 (02:57:23):
Okay, this is right. I had a good I had
a great one with you. I'm talking about award winning,
but it would have probably cost us our jobs.

Speaker 4 (02:57:33):
But it was good way to hold back. Wait for
the break. We need the job, just saying people, I
can't believe this.

Speaker 3 (02:57:40):
In San Francisco, they're saying people have unleashed dogs that
not even on the leash, which is supposed to be
a five hundred dollars fine.

Speaker 4 (02:57:48):
They're not supposed to be in the grocery store. We
got unleashed.

Speaker 3 (02:57:51):
Dogs running around, running around the grocery store, and it
says we must do something. Business is need to have
some sort of right here to demand that people produce
the documentation that these are service dogs. There's no way
this many people need service dogs. I added that that's
my own observation. Yes, out in society. So so we

(02:58:16):
got dogs running around, they're going now, notice they had
produce this is the this is the this is the
p R.

Speaker 4 (02:58:23):
I saw one in Walmart that dogs have. Now they
have the upper hand.

Speaker 3 (02:58:28):
This is now considered to be a bad thing that
people want dogs out of the grocery store.

Speaker 4 (02:58:33):
Yeah, not on lead.

Speaker 3 (02:58:35):
They're calling it canine canceled culture. Greg gets the headline, kline,
that's difficult, that's difficult. No, we didn't we all at
one time, guys, you those of you that to take
my dog anywhere. Bunch y'all, y'all got to get a handle.
Can survive at the house till you get back from
the store. Someone got to go to the store. Someone said,

(02:58:58):
I was in the grocery store and literally saw dog
poop on the floor.

Speaker 4 (02:59:02):
Oh no, sir, m hm. We got dogs dumping in
the store and they just and they leave it and
they keep walking. If you're going to take your dog everywhere,
please teach your dogs and manners.

Speaker 3 (02:59:16):
They're going to dump wherever they want, they do you,
how about you better bring a bag or so. I
think that the dog owners need to I need to
talk to them before we talk to the dog about it.

Speaker 4 (02:59:26):
Someone dog can't drive them.

Speaker 3 (02:59:28):
Someone's dog literally launched itself at my pastry and got
its mouth all over it. That the dog's owners saw
the incident and just kept on walking. Oh didn't even careck. Well, look,
San Francisco has become so nasty. People are like, well,
there's human feces in here there if there's dogs, yeah,

(02:59:48):
actually that's a less offensive, right. But this is the
kind of dog behavior that just drives me, baby, It
drives me up the wall. I mean, this is this
is the kind of thing you can't have.

Speaker 4 (03:00:00):
Think you finally you go into the grocery store binding
your own.

Speaker 3 (03:00:02):
Oh yeah, you try to go get some groceries, you know,
and here comes, here comes all those My dog goes
everywhere with me people.

Speaker 4 (03:00:08):
Yeah, my favorite is I've left the dog in the vehicle.
I rode down the window.

Speaker 3 (03:00:14):
Well, if the dog, if you made the wise decision
and the correct decision, it's not a service animal. And
you want to take the dog. You didn't take the
dog into the grocery store. Why don't he ride shot gun?
Why didn't you leave him where he could have enjoyed
himself or her whatever it is?

Speaker 4 (03:00:28):
Yeah? Do they are they? Do you think they're enjoying this?

Speaker 5 (03:00:32):
Right?

Speaker 4 (03:00:34):
I don't know them.

Speaker 3 (03:00:34):
I don't know, though, I say that, is there any
greater feeling when you get stuck and the car with
the wife on the grocery run? Oh I need to
go buy the grocery store And they say those magic words.
You don't have to go in if you want to
see here and wait on me? Oh thank god? Yeah,
what if your dog's with you? No, No, this is

(03:00:57):
a look, it's even got San Francisco people.

Speaker 4 (03:00:59):
Math.

Speaker 3 (03:01:00):
Look, I'm not we had a I'm not gonna call names,
but we had a person that come to the show
a couple of times.

Speaker 4 (03:01:05):
I had a service dog. You remember that.

Speaker 3 (03:01:07):
Yeah, Well that was a stretch because I asked the guy.
I said, what you know, Well, every now and now
I lose my balance. I said, every now and then
you lose your balance, and you get to have a
service dog. Every now and then I lose my Balance's
what I'm saying. But that was only Hey, I thought
it was gonna be something.

Speaker 4 (03:01:21):
Yep, tell you ma, I'm sorry, sure is. But that
dog was so small.

Speaker 8 (03:01:26):
What's that dog gonna do if you lose your balance?

Speaker 4 (03:01:28):
Let you fall, get its back broke? Yes, yeah, that
dog won't catch you. Nobody. No, sweet dog, Oh very
sweet dog, well behaved. How about this?

Speaker 18 (03:01:38):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (03:01:38):
My favorite is going to Low's and coming home with
three bundles of shingles and six fleas on me. I
was at the Atlanta Airport. English bulldog took a big
dump right in the middle of the walkway. You you
people with your dogs, I mean, I mean we are
all what about the Well, I'm not tolerating you pile
of dog. You're going to deal with it. You have

(03:02:00):
a dog with you and he takes a dump. You
gotta deal with it. You can't leave it for others. Greg,
I'm going to ask you a question. I bet you
I know the answer. Where are you on our little
cutey little quips out front the Veterinarian office? On our
on our side a little we're gonna do a play
on animal words.

Speaker 4 (03:02:18):
Yes, and watch just be key. We got a little
quip for you. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:02:22):
I'm not like that about any sign that tries to
be funny. Oh really, signs that are trying to be
funny period not. We're on like a gas station. Do
you find do you find the veterinarian. I'm going to
do something with animals and animal things.

Speaker 4 (03:02:35):
And like police Navy dog. That's a great one. I'm
looking them up right now. Picture pitcher Greg's face with
something like that. That's got to drive you crazy.

Speaker 3 (03:02:47):
Unfortunately, on one of my major rides home, like parts
of town, I go to a lot I encounter multiples.

Speaker 4 (03:02:54):
Well see, I get a lot on gas stage.

Speaker 3 (03:02:55):
There's this one in between here and the way I
go home, and they're really always trying to be cute.
And one of them they put up there one day
it said Yoda had a last name. It was Yoda
layh or something something or something.

Speaker 4 (03:03:08):
Weird and they kep it up forever and you least
take it down. It's been up. But we're great. Keep
in mind these I always have to have some animal
you and I got it wrong. His last name was La. Yeah, right,
even comes.

Speaker 2 (03:03:22):
Up with that?

Speaker 4 (03:03:23):
Right? Did you one time? Say it to yourself in
the car? Too min minutes to figure out what it meant? Okay?

Speaker 3 (03:03:27):
I I had to piece it together. I said, Yoda,
Oh yoda. Do you find that worse though than I must?
I'm gonna watch me tied into animal humor?

Speaker 4 (03:03:35):
Yeah, you're right.

Speaker 3 (03:03:36):
We always catch me out. Yeah, you know, stuff like
that drives me crazy. And I've seen some pretty bad
ones too, some pretty bad ones.

Speaker 4 (03:03:51):
Can I tell you who?

Speaker 3 (03:03:52):
Kind of chuckles at it in a surpriser Sherry said,
I said, you do you think that's funny?

Speaker 4 (03:03:57):
She goes, I don't know.

Speaker 5 (03:03:58):
What is it?

Speaker 4 (03:03:58):
They tickle me because it's kind of cute. I think
that's why. Because it's kind of cute, it's maddening to me,
and all I can think about it. I was a
wish Greg was here because I could hear him way
in on it. I like big months and I cannot lie.
That's exactly what I'm talking about.

Speaker 3 (03:04:18):

to the Greg Burgess Show, and I really enjoyed.

Speaker 4 (03:07:37):
Here every day. Rick Burgess Show, Go ahead.

Speaker 10 (03:07:41):
I got a serious question for Greg. Okay, my my
counter come over this weekend, he said.

Speaker 4 (03:07:47):
My, that's great. The Winkers.

Speaker 3 (03:07:59):
Rick Burger Show. Unscreen phone calls, go ahead, morning. Rick
loved the show, Thank you, buddy.

Speaker 15 (03:08:06):
I gotta admit it.

Speaker 4 (03:08:07):
I'm a Greg minion. Oh yes, a few people admit
that publicly. But when you do, it feels good, don't.

Speaker 15 (03:08:13):
Yeah, yes it does, Yes, it does. And I wanted
to tell you. A group of us was at the Troy,
Tennessee last night and listen to you. What a fantastic
program you put on. Fantastic. I encourage anybody that wants
to listen to you make the trip.

Speaker 4 (03:08:31):
Oh thank you, that's kind of you. Just say that.

Speaker 3 (03:08:33):
Man, that was a powerful night last night. And I
think I remember meeting you because I'm had guys tell
me that that they were Greg Minions. We continue Rick
Birder's show unscreen phone calls.

Speaker 10 (03:08:44):
Go ahead, Hey, Rick, I'm sorry about to tap my
phone cut out on me. That's all right, Hey, what
I was talking about as adult?

Speaker 5 (03:08:53):
Oh yeah, my.

Speaker 12 (03:08:54):
Brother in law.

Speaker 10 (03:08:55):
My brother in law trains service dogs. He's military just
like I am. Yeah, and them dogs are well well mannered.
You understand. They don't run loose. They don't take a
dumb in the store.

Speaker 4 (03:09:08):
That's crazy.

Speaker 10 (03:09:08):
Do what they're supposed to do. Yeah. Yeah, Well, I
mean if they got to go, they'll come to you
and tell you they got to go.

Speaker 4 (03:09:15):
Well, do they speak or do they do some sort
of sign.

Speaker 10 (03:09:18):
They put their head, they put their heads down and
put it in their lap, you know, or towards them,
and that means they got to go to the bathroom.

Speaker 4 (03:09:25):
I did not know that. I did not know. I
did not advance. I do the same thing. Yes you do.

Speaker 3 (03:09:30):
As a matter of fact, I was just gonna say that,
uh being turned circles right before you see it.

Speaker 4 (03:09:36):
But the then and Greg Greg Gregs is a little
more direct. But the uh, But I was Yeah, I
mean those of you.

Speaker 3 (03:09:46):
The problem is you have people who want to bring
their dogs into every scenario, but they don't take the
time to train them.

Speaker 4 (03:09:51):
Yeah. If you took the time to train like he's
talking about.

Speaker 3 (03:09:55):
Yeah, but some of you are just wanting to bring
your dogs out into society, but you don't put an.

Speaker 4 (03:10:00):
Effort in the training.

Speaker 5 (03:10:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:10:01):
That that second part is crucial. Yeah, because they won't move. Yeah,
you know Rick Burgess showing unscreen phone calls. Go ahead, Yeah,
I want.

Speaker 11 (03:10:10):
To tell you a story about this weekend. My my
my wife wanted me to I cook cook her grease grits.
I liked castle chieved grise and I had I had
one too many. I had one too many bow lices.
And I was cooking the gris and I put I

(03:10:33):
burnt my hond And when I burnt my hand, I turned,
I went to the swing and I hit my son
in the face because my hand was hot, and I
butted my son lift.

Speaker 10 (03:10:46):
So be careful when you when you're.

Speaker 11 (03:10:49):
Making the grits, when you have too many the bow lifers.

Speaker 4 (03:10:54):
Thank you. Can we can we make it royal? Only
two Mexican collars a day? Yea, that's number two.

Speaker 8 (03:11:02):
I don't think we've had any today, actually, Greg.

Speaker 3 (03:11:04):
No, it's the second one. Yeah, well, but that ain't
the point. That's what it appears to be, right, I
got you. You don't like that, right, I don't dislike it,
but I got you. Rick Berger Show, Hard to Listen,
Strained phone calls, go ahead.

Speaker 19 (03:11:22):
So I've got an idea on how you guys can
get Greg to walk a song, just like we used
to tell each other in high school.

Speaker 10 (03:11:28):
Greg, if you don't walk this song, you're gay.

Speaker 3 (03:11:32):
Okay, let's see if that works. As long as y'all
keep on land, I'm never doing never you't. I tell
you what, Papa, I started to do it this morning,
but not now. I was gonna do the way on
this break?

Speaker 4 (03:11:43):
What about that?

Speaker 5 (03:11:44):
You better?

Speaker 4 (03:11:44):
We got to the woman says she didn't like this
because she's always great. You're bullying me? Yes, Greg, you're
you can make a like claims to people bullying.

Speaker 3 (03:11:53):
I just leave it alone, grab anothering, see if we
get another the maskan Rick Birger's show that screen phone
calls go ahead.

Speaker 12 (03:12:00):
Hey, I just found this canoe and I'm gonna go
put it in Speedies.

Speaker 4 (03:12:04):
Driveways show unscreened phone calls. Go ahead, A good one.

Speaker 24 (03:12:12):
Hey, Greg, do you know have to legally make your
wife be quiet?

Speaker 4 (03:12:17):
I'm afraid of that one. I'm not doing that one.
Rick Berger's show, Yes, go ahead.

Speaker 10 (03:12:27):
I do this morning.

Speaker 4 (03:12:28):
We're good. I hope you're.

Speaker 21 (03:12:30):
I'm doing great. I was just gonna ask a question,
since Alabama's finally coming back into the society with the
boor actually wanting to finally coach somebody, who do y'all
think we have a better chance of winning out a
team by going through the season.

Speaker 4 (03:12:42):
What do you mean, what do you think the record
is now? What kind of record you have?

Speaker 5 (03:12:47):
Yeah?

Speaker 21 (03:12:48):
Pretty much because since actually now we're starting to have
to ask a decent team to go through the whole
entire season, because now we're starting to win, since we've
beat Georgia by three, which is a believable thing. Somehow,
in some way, I'm thinking that not gonna win against
Auburn this year because I mean, I have a great defense.

Speaker 4 (03:13:03):
Well that's kind of well, that's I think Obama's gonna
lose four. You had them winning at all, Greg, Yeah,
but that was after this weekend. I know they won,
but it went in president right, So uh, I think
this Missouri game is a big will be a big.

Speaker 5 (03:13:18):
Look.

Speaker 4 (03:13:18):
Miss Missouri runs the ball really well. They're undefeated.

Speaker 3 (03:13:22):
I do think Alabama will beat Missouri, but I think
the way you look will say a lot Saturday. But boy,
the stuff that the stuff that's left. All right, Yeah,
it's tough, right.

Speaker 4 (03:13:33):
Y'all say win or loss Missouri?

Speaker 6 (03:13:35):
When Tennessee at at Alabama, When South Carolina at South Carolina,
L s U at Alabama L s U, Greg Alabama,
Oklahoma at Alabama, Oklahoma greg Eastern Illinois at Alabama. Y'all know,
my I didn't tell you'ally gona win Alabama at Auburn.

Speaker 4 (03:13:56):
I'm gonna go with the diet on that one. Yeah,
Hey a second, you're gona win the whole thing. I
tried to tell you. You didn't. What I'm gonna say, Auburn,
don't count them.

Speaker 3 (03:14:06):
Out thinking happened you got to Well, they do have
a good defense this year. But you need a good
offense though, because you have to score.

Speaker 5 (03:14:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:14:21):
Scoring so important. Yeah, because no matter how good a
defense you gout, you're gonna have to score some point.

Speaker 3 (03:14:26):
Yeah, because the defense is gonna get up some points.
Yesually shutouts are hard to come by.

Speaker 4 (03:14:30):
You did, you did.

Speaker 3 (03:14:31):
You're gonna have to You're gonna have to have the
defense too. By not helping get a few first downs.

Speaker 4 (03:14:36):
Yeah, movie change really helps your Yeah it doesn't. Sentiment,
it really helps him. You got you gotta get some
first downs.

Speaker 1 (03:14:43):
