(02:14):
help you. Uh those of you that are saying that
YouTube is buffing, usually that's gonna be on your end. Remember,
individual people reset reset often add a little check it
out in there, but uh, sometimes that's an individual thing
more than than it is a macro thing. Uh, So
be sure and always check check on your end and
make sure. But we think we're good on our end
(02:35):
because we're not getting a bunch of people on that one.
So as we get ready to go forward, some things
that are out there they'll be they'll be recaps from
things that are developing. Or Speedy gave us all a
bit of a Debbie downer last night. We were all
kind of having a pretty good night. So thanks for that. Speedy.
Speaker 5 (02:52):
He's doing show prep, getting ready, emailing myself some stories
and I saw that one jump up as a lead
entertainment story.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
So I want and give y all it's up we
knew that Dolly Parton had canceled, you know, some of
her dates for her Las Vegas residency. Yeah, she seemed
to be kind of upbeat and telling us not to
worry about it. Of course, you know, seventy nine years old,
and uh, I forget she's that old.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
I know.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
Tough. Now our sister's got to ask us. I pray
for yep, mystery illness? Uh so, uh that just always
has that look. Yeah, what you'd like to see Dolly
be able to speak for herself if you couldn't. Boy,
I know Adler's already said it, it's been tough here.
Speaker 5 (03:36):
Well what was it last week we announced that she
had canceled some day or something.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
But I thought, yeah, yeah, I thought, oh, look it's Dolly.
Speaker 6 (03:45):
You know, you never think Dolly. Nothing can get Dolly down.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
You don't want to see mystery illness? Like, what's that about?
Doesn't that just mean? Doesn't that just mean they're not
ready to tell us? Could be trying to figure it
out or you know, mystery sounds hey but sound good.
Speaker 7 (04:01):
Honestly, straight up, I am having some issues here with YouTube,
so yeah, we'll be okay.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
Well I'll probably have to thanks, text nation, I'll probably
have to stop the stream and uh restart it, all right,
so tubers, we may have to reset it. And thank
you for letting us know that it was buffering badly. So, uh,
those things do help, and uh and Adler is working
on it.
Speaker 7 (04:21):
You love when you look at one thing and it
says like not working, and then you look at another
thing that says excellent connection.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
Oh wow, all right, okay, okay, that seems to be
mutually exclusive.
Speaker 6 (04:32):
Yeah, no, it's not good.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
Okay, all right, guys, we got it. Hey, great, We
can always tell when they begin to come in multiple times. Yeah,
it's all right. We're working on it.
Speaker 6 (04:41):
Yeah, sorry everyone.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
But it may call for a full reset, y'all. Don't
pay it when you reset.
Speaker 6 (04:45):
Yeah, yeah, I'm gonna do that now.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
Can I tell you he's doing it right now. I'll
say to hey, tubers, he's about to reset it. It's
all right, thank you right back. We love you, We
love your passion. That really does make us feel good
that you care that much. By the way, and five
hour people, I'm always just people that that cat this
every day for five hours. Yeah, yeah, we can't. We
(05:08):
be honest, Greg, you're not really into it for five hours. No,
I mean I'm here.
Speaker 7 (05:15):
So uh and all those texts that you read that
are coming in live at five am Central.
Speaker 6 (05:20):
That's very motivating.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
That's I'm already here with you. I'm not I'm not
even gonna arc out, but I'm gonna go with you.
Speaker 7 (05:27):
Yes, that's by the way. That's what Rick is talking.
That is live coming at us at five am.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
Can I tell you what I noticed too? And I
found this out last weekend because there's there's all this
feedback we get. Now then there's going to events like
y'all went to Speedy Greg like I went to And
I bet y'all go to nod your head too. Of
course I can't. I guess they might come to something
like your crap run. But can I tell you who?
We are? A big time friend to truckers. Oh, I mean,
(05:54):
well think about it. That's a road, hey, truckers ride
with us. Yeah, I mean, I mean I had some truckers,
uh when I was in Tennessee and they were like, hey,
I'm with you all the time live n archive. Thank y'all. Yeah,
thank so for sure. Yeah, And and that that's it.
That's a good bunch to have on your side. By
(06:14):
the way, have you checked with S S I S.
Bob Carrey, Robert Carrey, I have not. Yankees. Last night
Aaron Judge home run was good.
Speaker 5 (06:29):
They ended up winning, and uh, the atmosphere, everything about
it was I wish y'all cared more. Uh, it was
really something else. It's special. It's baseball, baseball. It's specially
you guys. Yeah, and and I thought about the Carries
because I know how much he loves the Yankees. And
it actually hit that looked like to me the left
(06:50):
field foul pole.
Speaker 6 (06:51):
It did bounce back into onto.
Speaker 5 (06:53):
The on the field, but it was a bomb. It
was absolutely a missile. Last night, he actually stood at
home plate to try to see if it even stayed fair,
and when it did, the place went freaking nuts.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
So was it? Was it similar because I'm gonna show
my age a little bit when on the it went
the other way because it was for their arrival. But
the Red Sox when the famous he's trying to keep
the home run foul. Yes, yes, hits it. Do you
remember that? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, And he's going down the
line and he's trying to wave it, wave it fair
and yeah, and then it goes fair. Was it very
(07:29):
similar to that? Well?
Speaker 5 (07:30):
Yeah, it was one of those where you just like, okay,
it was destroyed. We know it's a home run, but
will it stay fair?
Speaker 3 (07:36):
You know? He just stood there going. Yeah. So it
was very and it's a very famous scene by the way, Yes,
going on the first base line and boy, yeah of
course yeah uh so. Uh So anyway, so the Yankees
with a big win, yeah, oh yeah, big win and
they're playing the Blue Jays.
Speaker 5 (07:53):
Yes, yes, they're playing the Blue Jays. Blue Jays when
are leading the series two to one.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
So uh not in the playoffs every day there's a
different They don't be like that, all right, uh they go.
Speaker 5 (08:04):
They got the h the Mariners and the Tigers. Today
if you you got the Brewers and the Cubs, the
Blue Jays and the Yankees and the Phillies and the Dodgers.
Speaker 3 (08:12):
Lord help us. They were already in October. I know,
but that's a bit. That's a lot of teams still
played in October. Good gracious, I like the whole way better,
of course you do. I mean, I know only two
teams got a shot out of each league. But that's
that was good, right, big deal? It was Cristy old man. I'
see you've turned into down. Anybody can get anybody getting
(08:33):
plays now. I remember the whole days when the playoffs
mean something. Yeah, there's only eight teams. Eight, Yeah, you
know how many? I mean, it's like how many. That's
why I'm saying that's a lot of teams. Greg Gregor
used to be we started with with eight from the
very beginning. Less. Yeah, but so so we we will.
(08:54):
We will continued to update you on what's going on.
But I mean the Dolly News today, we got good
news for Yankee fans. Dolly news that's not a little sobering.
But we don't know. I mean, we don't want to
hear anything. She's seventy nine, y'all, seventy nine.
Speaker 5 (09:07):
And again every time I read a story about that,
I forget she's seventy nine.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
Well, yeah, because she's been rebuilt.
Speaker 6 (09:16):
I mean, she don't look, say but she said, right, yeah,
she don't look seventy nine.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
Yeah, you don't know how many original how many original
parts are there? Got not many. So we'll be back,
and she would she would enjoy it making fun of that.
Oh yeah, we'll be right back.
Speaker 1 (09:32):
This is the Rick Burgers Show, be boll and let
(10:00):
the whole world know that you listen to the Rick
Burgess Show. Cool merchandise is available now just go to
rickburgesshow dot com and click shop.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
All right, here we go, we're bank thanks for being
with US America and we do we don't having technical
difficulties with YouTube, so that is we're not late, We're
not any of that. It's just got some technical problems today.
So Adler's working through those and when he gets that settled,
we'll of course have it back up on the stream.
So also coming up a little bit later on in
(10:35):
the program today, Greg Burgess right again, right again is back.
So yesterday the wheel in the Burgess ball battle with
the Vox seats that did not produce any cash, but
today could be other opportunities. Now we don't I mean
you may or may not get an opportunity because she
might not be able to handle Greg. But Greg Burgess
(10:57):
right again, coming up a little bit later on in
the program today. Also Red Sox fans, you know my
memory is is not as good on details when you
go as far back as that they're saying it was
actually Carlton Fisk, not yeazz uh and for some reason
I thought that was yes, but I guess I was wrong.
(11:18):
But anyway, y'all remember the moment I was talking about
with whether in the same era. I remember being a kid,
it was either the World Series or the Pennant I
can't remember. Remember Chris Chamberlin's yes, and he had walk off.
He's trying to run around the bases and the crowds
on the fail, Yeah, trying to run with you, Yes,
and everybody. I remember being a little kid watching that. Yeah.
And then then of course you go to the you know,
(11:41):
these incredible moments. Uh So, it's kind of cool throughout
baseball history for baseball to have another one of those
Last Nights and last Night. And I know it doesn't
matter what team you pull for, but anytime it's one
of the big time franchises like the Yankees, Red Sox,
you know, those kind of things make it even more
dramatic because of the fan base.
Speaker 5 (12:01):
You know, yeah, yeah, And if you're just a sports
fan in general, you love big moments and highlights and
just you know, fandom and people falling all over themselves
and falling down to the row in front of them
because they're going so nuts. You know and people just
love it now. It was one of those moments. Aaron
Judge showed out last night. He was I think three
(12:22):
for four, three run bomb, played good defense and another story,
Rick was kind of crazy.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
Greg and I were talking. I know, we were talking
music before the show.
Speaker 5 (12:30):
Like we normally do, Greg always do, but we also
kind of dabbled in sports too, and we were talking
about Joe Flacco. The Browns trade him to the Bengals.
And it's crazy because if Joe Flacco leads the Bengals
to a win over the Packers on Sunday, he'll become
the first NFL quarterback to beat a team twice in
(12:51):
the same season with different teams since nineteen sixty two,
when Jack Kemp led the Chargers and the Bills to
wins over the Titans.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
Uh and yet, so what does this mean for a FLA?
But what does this mean for.
Speaker 8 (13:07):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (13:08):
That means he moves up the depth chart.
Speaker 5 (13:10):
Dion was asked about and he said he didn't care,
but uh, he's done.
Speaker 3 (13:14):
But that was a surprise. He's got blood clots to
worry about.
Speaker 5 (13:16):
You go from Joe Flacco starting for the Browns to Okay,
I'm traded to the Bengals.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
Yeah, that's Bengals. Do need help with He's just scraping
up a career and do you think he's done? Then
here he comes. I know he's started the Browns and
he may be and you got Super Bowl ring. Yeah,
I mean he's got a weird career. He does so.
So Flacco could end up, as you just said, having
some sort of record because he will play the Packers
(13:43):
twice in the same season for two different teams. If
he can beat them twice, he'll be in a unique
group of quarterbacks. Speedy trivia. What college did he play for?
That's a good one, Joe Flacco? Is it? Uh? At
Cincinnati for some rate? Who was it? I think? Can
I get Aware? Blue Hens? Wow? Aware? Okay? You think
(14:07):
you think? Do you think? Do you think? You think?
Because he can't because I remember he was considered high
in the draft, but he was it was from a
small college. Good they were still we called it one
double A. They may have still been one double A
right again.
Speaker 6 (14:23):
It was a record breaking two year tenure at quarterback
for the Blue Hens.
Speaker 3 (14:28):
Wow. Greg started early. This is weird. Does this mean
that she is a weird trade? Does this mean that
schedure now won't won't panamion, he'll answer questions. Maybe so
he's weird on the depth chart. He get his voice.
Speaker 6 (14:42):
I feel weird thinking about his voice.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
Number was weird, guys. Yeah, yeah, it's animated. To me.
When I first brought it up, I thought it was
going to really just take the show and put it,
put it, put it's on its on its ear. But
y'all had a relatively respond much to something that was
really weird. I know, and I don't know why we should.
You have other things on your mind. Maybe we should
(15:07):
have gave it more right. I mean, he's standing there,
like I said, really anim Yeah, he's moving his mouth
and nothings like some little kid, and a good one.
I'll be honest, but Greg, it's weird. It's very weird,
but considering what all went on, but it is you
were announced today. Since he's number two, he will actually
get his voice back. Yeah. I think that's what Dan
(15:29):
man when he said, I don't care this got whatever.
I'm trying to deal with black clos you know. Yeah,
I'm down to's and toes run into the port of body. Look,
I'm just driving fourth and three. I'm on that clock
right now, who's going to die first? Me or you know,
Dolly partner? Yeah right, yeah, I say it like that?
(15:50):
Was that? Did that like a little a little more compassionate? Yeah,
probably just falls under that category. Yeah, gracious because I don't.
Speaker 5 (16:00):
But yet, now that he's on the depth chart, is
number two shador back.
Speaker 3 (16:05):
So that moves him to Gabriel. He's one snap away
from here I go. You want to tell us where
Dylan Gabriel played? We all know that, gotcha Delaware? I
believe that I stumped y'all on the Joe Flaky. Yeah,
none of us know Delaware Blue hen But the fact
that there's an NFL quarterback that's had a pretty successful
career and then he was highly tauted coming out of college. Yeah,
(16:27):
you know, we always sometimes have that guy. He plays
on a small college, but we love him anyway. Yeah,
he's some McNay might give me a Flacco age. What
is it easy? Forty? Let's see, Yeah, I think it
might have been there forty.
Speaker 6 (16:40):
Yeah for the same age, Adler.
Speaker 3 (16:44):
I know, you keep making yourself forty. You still got
a few more weeks.
Speaker 6 (16:47):
Come on, I mean we were both born in eighty five.
Speaker 3 (16:49):
Right, so you will turn forty this December. I will. Yes, Yeah,
how about me knowing your birthday was in December? That's good?
How'd you like that?
Speaker 6 (16:57):
Well, I mean we've been working together for like fifteen years.
Speaker 3 (17:00):
I was every year I was one year out of
high school when you were born.
Speaker 7 (17:04):
Okay, that's fine, right, longer we get pretty soon, i'll
be like eighty five and you'all be like one hundred
and five.
Speaker 6 (17:12):
Right, we'll both be older than.
Speaker 3 (17:15):
Everybody that cane. You know, it's funny. It's funny you
say that because you know, me being married to a
woman that I'm six years older than, oh bragging. Well yeah,
but but you know when when when you you know,
like we always we laugh sometimes, you know, like when
I was twenty one, Yeah, you know, me dating her
at fifteen would have been really from against law. But
(17:37):
now it's sixty one and her being fifty five, you know,
we're just kind of Yeah. And even me and Wingo
when I realized that Wingo like played at Bama in
the seventies when I was still like in junior high kid. Yeah,
but now when we're like, you know, as friends, it
seems like we're like the same age. Yeah, I know,
because we're both in our sixties exactly.
Speaker 5 (17:57):
You know, you were talking about quarterbacks from small schools
that made an NFL career.
Speaker 3 (18:01):
Ben Roethlisberger.
Speaker 5 (18:02):
Uh, he was one of of Ohio, right, Josh Allen,
He's yeah, and then what was the other? He signed
with the st McNair Steve mcnairs, and then he signed
with it He was at the Eagles Red hair. Didn't
he play it? Uta State?
Speaker 3 (18:19):
Yeah? Carlon went, Yeah, whatever happened to him, he still played.
He's like a back up. He's back up. I think
he got in and helped him win Sunday. All right,
Now I forget Vikings? Is it the Maybe? I think
it's the Viking? Yeah, but he remember he went in
the first round. Yeah, we'll be right back. Check out.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
Don't forget the Wednesday Bible study today at noon Central
Time on the Rick Burger Show YouTube channel.
Speaker 3 (20:54):
Unless you your live option day. Hopefully will get the
YouTube issues worked out by the Bible Study today. We're
working on it's it's some sort of technical issue here
at the studios, so sorry about that. But there's many
other options. Tubers. You can still get us on the
tune in app. Do you have an affiliate you got that,
(21:15):
that's also an option to you, and the podcast archives
today as well, and we will get that Bible Study
out on the archives too, not long after it is over.
Both Adler's working on it. We're calling in super Time
the engineer. Also, we're calling in Brett, who's the the
I T whiz here at the building. So hopefully we'll
get it resolved. If not by the time the show's
(21:38):
over by the Bible Study today, we'll just keep checking.
But there are many other options for you to use also,
as if traveling commercial airlines is not enough, all of
you send me your little stories and you and you
just beg for us to do something. Well. The FAA
(21:58):
is now bracing for nationwide flight disruptions as air traffic
controllers shortages hit major airports. So if you you know
there's already issues anytime and they come, they seem to
be never ending on issues involving flying commercial so now
(22:21):
they say there may be major disruptions tonight as staffing
or last night and into today after staffing shortages hit
these major airports, and uh, it does not look good.
Now I'm looking at Nashville's having some issues. If you're
flying through Nashville, you've got Newark which is always bad, Chicago, DC. Mmm.
Speaker 5 (22:51):
You know you think about people, I mean not only
you know you just flying domestic, you know, but international flights,
and you know, just it trickles down and affects everybody,
you know that this was their big day. Now I
think about JC going to Japan later in the month,
and and I mentioned yesterday to him when when I
saw this, I'm like, this is why you have travel insurance,
(23:13):
you know, to cover to cover everything and and get
the highest the platinum coverage in case it trickles down
and you you're late and you miss hotel stays and stuff.
Speaker 3 (23:22):
But it affects a lot of people, it does well.
They and they're taking it and drawing the line back
to the government shutdowns shutdown that this has only made
the problem worse. Uh So they're they're doing all they can,
but this is going to be a problem. So it's
gonna be interesting to see in this We've been through
(23:43):
government shutdowns and we've lived long enough to see a
number of them. When the politicians play political games with
everybody's lives, right, so and it's off of you won't
you'll get this thing done. It's always interesting to watch
how everybody has the who's going to blink first? And
so we'll we'll see. I will tell the those that
(24:05):
I think on the left, you know, there's probably a
lot of administrations that you dealt with in the past
that you probably can intimidate and and break down. I
think this administration is is unique. Yeah, and it's look,
it gets a tactic by the Dems. I mean, it
was a clean bill the Republicans put in front of
(24:26):
them that I mean they've all agreed to back in March,
I think, and they just they stone walled and tried
to get everything shut down. And then they've got their
version where they added all a bunch of crap to it.
And you've seen some of the we had that story
yesterday or day before, all the stuff they tried to
add to it. LBGTQ stuff you know, internationally and and different.
Speaker 5 (24:47):
It's just a mess man. And uh it's it's gonna
It's just it affects a lot of people.
Speaker 3 (24:52):
Man, well it does. But here's somebody saying they were
supposed to fly to Italy tomorrow. Yeah, looking good. Sometimes
I don't know why, and I don't you know, I
don't work for commercial airlines, even though I need to,
and I do have an application in to fix all this,
But it seems to me just with my own personal experience,
(25:15):
which you know, we learned this back during the pandemic.
Oh right, that's antidotal. Have you ever notice that they'll
throw antidotal out the drop of a hat if you
try to make a point about anything that's anecdotal. But
in my personal experience, I seem to have better luck
with international than I do with domestic. It's almost like
they have so much more room for error in the
(25:37):
domestic than they do with the international. Just an assumption
on my part. Some of you that work in the
industry you may know, but I've had some international issues,
but most of the time my delays revolve around shorter distances.
If you're usually domestic or you know, an island that's
(25:57):
not that far away. But when the times I've been
to Africa, and Italy just trying to help this person
out a little bit, you know, and London filling the blank,
you know wherever.
Speaker 9 (26:10):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (26:10):
It seems that those seem to stay on time more
than Domestic. I find Domestic to be the biggest crap
shoot there is. Yeah, you mean you The record I
have with delays on domestic is alarming.
Speaker 6 (26:28):
It's those one hour flights.
Speaker 7 (26:30):
Yeah, that they just you're You're like, I am a
forty five minute flight away from my destination.
Speaker 6 (26:36):
And yep, yeah, those they got me and I'm just stranding.
Speaker 5 (26:41):
So you know, they got your skateboard and holding everything
up right.
Speaker 3 (26:45):
Well, I will tell you for where we live. You
know we we we do the show and all live
in Birmingham, Alabama. That's where the show originates from. And
so that's where we all live. And the cruelest thing
that we live with in this world because you have
to make this decision. Am I going over to the
land of Atlanta and try to leave from there? Find
(27:08):
a place to park land there, find my car drive
back to Birmingham trying to avoid or am I going
to just take the gamble that my jump from Atlanta
back home? If I go east? It is and sometimes
they'll really throw your curve. You won't even be going east,
and they'll still send you to Atlanta and you're like,
(27:29):
we are literally going the wrong way. Yeah and so
but that little like Adler just said, I mean, the
flight from Atlanta to Birmingham, if you just talk about
flight time, you you literally ascend level out in decend.
It's about thirty minutes, and it's probably less than that,
you know, if they if you just jumped on it
(27:50):
and they took off real quick. Because it's so it's
so close, and sometimes you'll be that close to being
home and they'll lock you down and trap you there,
and all you can think about is if my car
was here. But then you forget because you're so frustrated
what it would have taken to get your car there.
Oh yeah, yeah, you have that right because that's a nightmare.
(28:12):
Uh and yeah. So and uh that that that's that
one right there. That that'll that'll just when you think
you're done cussing, try that and you're and you've already
gotten the like like Adler just said, the line's share
of the trip's over. You've gone through the long flop
and you're just down to that one little hop back
(28:33):
home and and you can't have nothing, and you'll look
those things will start delaying, and then you think, well,
there's got to be how many more hops are they?
And it's also that weird thing where you discover that
people like you go to church with or your kids
go to school with the odds that they also were traveling,
because that's where everybody finds out whereverbody's being, because we
(28:54):
all end up on that same little jump back to Birmingham.
You're like, well, here's where all my friends are. Where'd
y'all go? And they've been all kinds of places, but
we all ended up here. Here we are, and we're
so close. And everybody always throws out I would have
been home by now if I if I just got
just start driving, and when that starts hitting you, because
to the Atlanta airport to where I live, if everything works,
(29:16):
it's less than three hours. If everything works. Now you
know that that can also turn into a three and
a half hour trip. But I mean, if everything runs smoothly,
I mean we hit the outskirts of Atlanta from my
house in less than three hours. That's why I know
a lot of folks are using Huntsville. Uh yeah, and just.
Speaker 5 (29:38):
Where we live and landing there and either driving up
to Nashville or down to.
Speaker 3 (29:42):
I'm telling you that what they're doing in Huntsville is
a game changer, and you start thinking, Okay, I can
be in Huntsville as queen as I can be in
Atlanta and a lot less hassle, Yeah, a lot less.
I know.
Speaker 5 (29:53):
The biggest thing that bothered you with your skateboard is
that you were holding everybody up unnecessarily because you had
already gone through all the screening and it.
Speaker 3 (30:00):
Got twenty minutes of skateboard.
Speaker 5 (30:02):
How many people do you think was sitting there going,
I'm so close to home and now we got.
Speaker 3 (30:08):
Is stupid two hundred.
Speaker 6 (30:09):
They were looking right at me. I didn't have to wonder.
Speaker 7 (30:11):
They were looking at the front of the plane too,
so everybody could see.
Speaker 5 (30:15):
I mean, I know you said that you were like, hey,
I'm sorry everybody, But did you turn around and go
hey y'all, I mean, did you announce to everybody what
was going on?
Speaker 10 (30:23):
Well?
Speaker 6 (30:23):
I kept getting different information from the airplane.
Speaker 7 (30:26):
They literally came up to me and were like, oh,
you're good, Oh you're not good. Oh you got to
take it apart. Okay, you're now, you're good. Oh no,
you're not good.
Speaker 6 (30:34):
You got to take it, you got to put it.
I mean it was it was crazy, and they stretched
it out.
Speaker 7 (30:39):
Between each piece of information, it was like sometimes five
or six or seven minutes, So that's why the whole
thing was so long. I'm like, all right, if y'all
had just said you can't have the skateboard, this would
have been a one minute conversation, but y'all stretched it
out into a twenty five minute thing. And it looks
like I am some freak that's holding nothing.
Speaker 3 (30:57):
Can you imagine me coming back on the show not
knowing you you what if by some guy with a skateboard,
I would have talked an hour about it. Yes, skateboard.
Speaker 7 (31:08):
Why did you are y'all telling you this right now?
I've been on this is my fourth flight. Why are
y'all telling you this?
Speaker 1 (31:14):
Last leg?
Speaker 3 (31:15):
Here I go? Did you get your check?
Speaker 7 (31:16):
I did, went and got the check yesterday, good boy
out in the middle of nowhere.
Speaker 6 (31:20):
But yeah, got it. It's weird. It looks like almost
like the stub of a check, not a check. So
I don't know. I'm gonna try to take it.
Speaker 7 (31:28):
What do you mean doesn't look like it looks almost
you know how You've got like a check and then
like the top flap part that has like all the information.
So I don't know if this is some corporate looking
check that I don't understand, but I'm gonna try.
Speaker 6 (31:42):
Taking it to the bank today.
Speaker 3 (31:43):
So did you feel about the number? That's a great question.
Speaker 6 (31:46):
Good number, good number. Okay, it is the cost of
the board. Okay, yeah, thank you Southwest.
Speaker 3 (31:50):
If somebody ripped the check off and then.
Speaker 6 (31:54):
See, idiot, that's the slip.
Speaker 3 (31:59):
Listen where you had to go to get it. I
wouldn't be surprised if somebody already got it. Oh yeah,
you got gotten wife. Yeah great. We'll be back hanging there.
Speaker 1 (32:15):
This is the Rick Burgers Show. This is what Trump
had in mind when he sought to make America great again.
(32:37):
The Rick Burgers Show.
Speaker 3 (32:39):
All right, we're back. Thank you for being with us America.
As we work to another show. Let me ask you
a question. So you are someone you know, do you
have someone in the family. Maybe it's you were the
traditional step over into the tub, precarious, it's to be curious.
(33:02):
You go in there and you're like I'm not sure
about Mama, Dad, you know who yourself? Uh, stepping over
into the traditional tub. Well, there's good news. There's good news.
And you know the next thing you think about, Well,
I don't want I don't want my bathroom to start
looking like now I'm in a nursing home. No, no, no, no.
They the folks at Safe Step Walking Tubs. They come in,
(33:25):
they're out of Tennessee. They can transform any any bathroom
into what you know might be dangerous right now, but
now it's a place of peace and tranquility.
Speaker 11 (33:37):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (33:37):
These walking tubs look great. They've got great features that
go with them. They usually can get the work done
in one day. And we're gonna save you sixteen hundred
dollars h and also get you a free shower package.
But just because you're you know, you're kind enough to
be part of what we're doing. Okay, So go to
Safe Step Walking Tubs. You can find their number at
(33:58):
Rick burgessshow dot com under sponsors. By the way, if
you contact them, you're not obligating yourself. You just want
to hear what they can do and let them come
check out your space. So there's no obligation, but call
them one eight hundred nine five six twelve twenty for
safe step walk in tubs and you'll love these people,
all right? So some other things? Did you did? Y'all notice?
(34:21):
Because I know I got all of you, and Adler
has had his own this week. That the the new
shirts we've got. You know, we've got new stuff on
the stores so over in our outdoors area, and we've
got some new hats coming. We kind of brought two
new shirts in involving camp House. So there's one, you know,
the camp House one that I that we all had
(34:41):
been wearing. Adler had it own yesterday. It's got big
Vox outdoors on the back. This is another one. This
is the second one. It's a little different shade of green.
But what do you think about this one? So it's
got a little different logo here. I didn't even know
the same I thought it was the same shirt, the
same shirt, Okay, camp House at Burgess Farms like that.
And then and then you look on the back there,
(35:03):
Oh that's nice. I do like that. I didn't even
realize that was different. I didn't pay attention.
Speaker 6 (35:08):
And they're looking good from the back. Hey, my screen's
working behind y'all.
Speaker 3 (35:16):
What happened.
Speaker 6 (35:17):
I don't know.
Speaker 7 (35:18):
I'm unplugging things, like I said, Like I'm like a
classic operator from those old movies.
Speaker 6 (35:21):
Like operator operate a telephone lines here.
Speaker 7 (35:24):
That's like me, That's what I'm doing.
Speaker 3 (35:28):
So I notice you're showing things on happen on both screens.
Speaker 6 (35:31):
Hey, yeah, so that's good. So I don't know, gang,
there's a lot going in.
Speaker 3 (35:36):
But that doesn't mean we're back. That just means you
can use the screens, right, doesn't mean the YouTube channel
we're back.
Speaker 6 (35:45):
It is restarting on me. Sometimes that's my counter.
Speaker 3 (35:48):
You know.
Speaker 6 (35:48):
If my counter goes back to zero and starts.
Speaker 3 (35:50):
Going back up, that's not good. But up here, I
see you got you've got something going on. We're back.
Speaker 6 (35:55):
We're kind of back, guys, Yes, maybe got back.
Speaker 3 (36:00):
Hey guys, we're back. So so yeah, that's cool. How
out of this one has the ant and it's a
little different shade of green too. Yeah that's yeah, it is.
What were you curious? If you put them side by side,
you'll see. I got to be honest, I did not.
I did not look at the logo, so I can't
remember what they're both. They're both on. If you look
(36:22):
they're right there, side by side of it. If you
look on the store and direct, you'll see that they're
there's a little bit of a shade difference. And of
course this is the one that mama wants because it's
got burgess on.
Speaker 6 (36:33):
One's kind of gray, ones kind of blue.
Speaker 3 (36:35):
No, no, I don't know where you got green. I
don't know where you green green green the same here.
Speaker 7 (36:42):
Look there's one that one's more gray.
Speaker 3 (36:45):
Yeah, that's green green.
Speaker 6 (36:48):
This one is more green.
Speaker 3 (36:49):
This one has a little more blue tethto it. It
looks great. That's a little bit more forced green to
the top the camp house. I would call it hunters
green hunters, and I would call this one a little
more greenish with a blue in it.
Speaker 6 (37:01):
Yeah, yeah, that's clearly good shirt.
Speaker 3 (37:06):
Oh yeah, good shirt. Well the yeah, I didn't even
look at it. You right, you're right, of course, you
know we need to get ready for hunting season. Of
course we can't get any rain. But how about yesterday? Yeah,
I did. I called my wife.
Speaker 5 (37:21):
It was probably she was getting her hair did, and
it was probably about three point thirty and I said,
she said, what what's wrong? I said, I just want
to tell you it's raining at the house. It's been
raining for ten minutes.
Speaker 3 (37:30):
She's like kidding me, right, But I talked to Gary
shortly after that, and he said, it's not raining down here. Hey,
it ain't rain done here in Chilton County September to sick.
Speaker 5 (37:42):
And I look, I said, Garently we pull up the forecast.
He's like, man, please rain. I really needed to rain.
And because he got his bucket, welded back and he
was giving me the breakdown of all that. He talked
about it yesterday and and I said, Buddy, I hate
to say this, but.
Speaker 3 (37:56):
It's not going to rain.
Speaker 5 (37:57):
He's like, you can't have nothing. Yeah, So he had
to break it. We had to break down yesterday's show
with him. Well, and how about him coming by the show?
We had no idea he was coming yesterday, and he
popped on end yesterday's show at one point.
Speaker 3 (38:15):
If you if you haven't caught the archive, at one point,
I don't think we were running the show. That there
was so much There was so much happening, so fast
going on, and I've never seen the vox seats take
over the show to that level. I mean, it was
Angie was here, yes, Angie boy boy, she had some
(38:37):
stuff with she did, and and she I think though.
The Gary line of the day yesterday was the broke
leg comment for sure, Yeah, because he didn't know what
you meant when you said she had broken her femur, right,
and then when you told him, he goes, well, I
just said she broke her leg.
Speaker 5 (38:52):
Yeah, right, but she's she's broken so many bones in
her leg. We had to be specific. This one was
the fever. She had broken her tibula.
Speaker 3 (38:59):
Right, but one point. But just you know how Gary
Gary takes everything down to its simplest form. Yeah, I
mean I just said you should just said she broke
her league.
Speaker 5 (39:08):
Yeah, but uh and speaking to Angie if she's watching
her listening, probably not watching. But Terry loved the chicken
and jet dumplings. Thank you appreciate that.
Speaker 3 (39:21):
You're good. So and that was uh, she watched. She
watched that whole thing yesterday. Okay. Yeah, I took Angie
brought one of the Sherry's books and took it home
to get signed. Okay, I have to ship it, which
means handed to me. Well. Well, and also she said
(39:41):
she'd email me her address, so okay, so we need
we need Yeah, but you may have that on the
sign to go back and love right. But anyway, we'll know, Greg,
I'm not going to spend the night with them, you know,
started out, yes, yea, yeah, I'm breaking that up. What
do you think the female Larry? I think we need
to start doing things like that. And you spend a
night with people, it's one of them, right yep. He
(40:04):
started in on that in front of you. Think that's good.
It's a phenomenal idea. I think it's great. We'll be
right back.
Speaker 1 (40:12):
This is the Rick Burgers Show. You better listen up.
Speaker 3 (40:30):
You know what we say all.
Speaker 6 (40:36):
You gotta find.
Speaker 1 (40:41):
The voice of reason in an unreasonable world. The Rick
Burchers Show.
Speaker 3 (40:49):
All right, here we go America, a brand new hour.
We thank you for being with us. Speedy, Greg and
Handler all here today. And we are dealing with a
little bit of technical difficulty on the two YouTube options.
Some of you say this fine now, some saying still
having trouble, but working on that, trying to get that done.
(41:15):
But the beauty is there are so many options live
and archive. You don't have to ever miss any of
the Rick Burgess Show. And we have an opportunity for
you to go head to head with the Greg coming
up a little bit later on Greg Burges Right again.
Another episode of that happening on the show today Wednesday.
(41:37):
Bible Study coming up later today, as is the norm
on Wednesday as well. Job Chapter thirty four. Also a
few emails here proud of the audience. These are actual
(41:58):
emails from you. If you want these to be considered, uh,
you just put you know. They're at the top of
the email in the subject line Hey Burge, Hey burd
and you can spell it b U r G are
putting e on there. It doesn't matter U. So I
always see those. And if you don't want to be mentioned,
you have to let me know. And this speedy said,
(42:19):
let me know early, real early, real early. Uh So
let me hit you with with a couple of these.
This one is one of these socially awkward things and
it is it is awkward. We enjoy it, but it
is awkward. Hey bird man, my name is Adam uh
and he said, out of Montgomery, listen, listen on I
(42:40):
ninety two. Uh, he said. I wanted to go back,
he said, because I'm one of the Tube chatters, and
I was excited to see Snookums and cal on the
show last Friday in the Vox seats. I'm a carpenter.
I understand. Uh, so I have to leave out pretty quick.
(43:02):
But I get in there and talk with the tubers
every every day, so so I never I never get
to study the show passed in until i'm you know,
going to the archive later in the day. He said,
I got to mention this. He said, I understand birds
that when y'all were doing the pictures with everybody, you
(43:25):
don't really know what to do with your hands. And
he said, I get it. He said, I'm a taller
man who lacks a posterior and I don't know what
to do with my hands. He said, I've seen sides
of you guys that I didn't expect watching you try
to deal with this. Of course, no surprise. Greg always
does it right again, right again. He knows what he's doing.
(43:46):
Rick went, in doubt, just shove your hands in your pockets.
One time. Ricky went with the superhero hands on your hips. Look. Oh,
he said that that's not a good one. That's not
a good look for you. Try something else. He says,
that looks a little MP. If I can just let
you go, well, I mean, he's trying to help me,
he said. To being honest, he said, and when you
(44:07):
do the hands on your hips, when you tried that, though,
you may see yourself as more of a superhero. Look,
it comes across like someone who puts almond milk in granola.
Well we all know that. Yeah, so that's that happened. Well,
it is an awkward thing, the contest that wont it
throughout the years of you know, being fortunate enough to
(44:28):
do something where anybody would want to have their picture
made with you, you know, especially dealing is dealing with
females and things like that. You don't know what to do.
There's been times where innocent, totally innocent is people will
try to get their picture made with us and like
they'll go, we'll do I throw an arm around the
lower back. I've had people completely touch my rear end
(44:51):
and hold it for a brief second one, you know,
and well, I don't think they know where they're at.
They think they have a love handle, but they've got
a cheek, you know what I mean. They bring up
their favorite magician. But you know something, do you think
about when when someone like Hugh's had lovers since I've
had love handles since third grade?
Speaker 11 (45:11):
Is.
Speaker 3 (45:11):
You know, a lot of times somebody goes, well, that
must be a love handle, and I'm like, no, that's
that's that's my that's my right cheek. That great Greg
wow cuppage, he sho so anyway, But I mean, so
it is. It's difficult. I don't know sometimes what to do.
And then you know, you can do that thing where
if you throw your arms out too wide, now you're
stretching your shirt across you. You know, and and you know,
(45:34):
and then you and if you just stand there. Sometimes
I don't know what you're right, you you noiled, Adam.
I sometimes I don't know what to do with my hands.
Speaker 7 (45:41):
That's why I crossed my arms and then that way. Nobody,
you know, nobody you know, accuses me them also.
Speaker 3 (45:52):
Especially duds. I'm hearing something. You got a weird sound
on your microphone.
Speaker 6 (45:56):
I've got a fan going here, and thought.
Speaker 3 (46:00):
Okay, sure that's right. Do you think that's what it is?
A box running hot?
Speaker 6 (46:03):
I think this encoder box is my issue. Yeah, well, wow,
y'all can really hear that fan?
Speaker 3 (46:07):
Yeah that's all right. But as long as we know
what it is, we don't mind.
Speaker 6 (46:10):
I thought it was the dude's comment that had y'all sign.
Speaker 3 (46:14):
Do we need to get another encoder?
Speaker 7 (46:17):
I actually have the replacement for it, but there's so
much in here that I have to gut.
Speaker 6 (46:22):
I'm honestly, I was hoping to limp to thanks, I
was hoping to.
Speaker 3 (46:26):
Link, trying to get a little few more miles out
of the car, and it broke down.
Speaker 6 (46:30):
Try to gut this whole thing.
Speaker 3 (46:31):
Okay, Well, at least you found what you think the
issue is, so that helps, I think so all right,
Hey bird, hey Burde. Uh just heard hay birds from
yesterday the drive through lady having the man back up
and pull forward. Of course, once again, y'all nailed it.
You're exactly right that they're resetting the timer. And when
I was in high school, it worked at Burger King
on our days off. We would swing from time to
(46:54):
time and pull up to the drive through when a
particular manager was working and asked if she needed to
drive through time to be lowered. We would then pull
up to the window, uh, and they give us a
free drink, and then as we wanted to eat, and
we pull back around to the speaker, wait a few
seconds and pull back around to the window. Uh, just
(47:14):
for the and they'd hand us the free food, so
it really wasn't a bad deal. So basically, he said,
when I worked there, when you were off, you went
to go got free food to make their drive through
record look better. You take a little little lap there.
And so well, here we are again. We're pretending we're
to be efficient when we're just not. We're manipulating something
(47:37):
that's trying to keep up with excellence, and so we're
gonna manipulate it to pretend to be excellent. So here's
another one. Hey bird, Hey birge, This is Andy from Monroe, Louisiana,
faithful podcast listener, love the new show, keeping it short
for bird. So my daddy would not eat what he
(47:58):
called lightning lightning bread he meant he meant white bread.
He always called it lightning bread. He said, unless it
was sunbeam, it was sunbeam sunbeam only square, sound like
old fashioned cut. He also he also would not use
a boat paddle unless it was Indian Head. That was
(48:19):
the paddle he believed was the best, and no one
should use another brand. He also liked to tell you
about his choice of beer, but maybe that is another email.
So anyway, he says, Also, when you guys were talking
about things to try, do not sleep on cheese toast
with maple syrup drizzle. He said, sounds a little rough,
(48:44):
like no, he said, let type two try it. He's
gonna love this. I'm just thinking syrup and cheese. That
sounds delicious. I'm one of Greg's minions. I'm telling you,
he's gonna love this. I don't know the cheese.
Speaker 5 (48:57):
So y'all never had like a bit and gotten a
block of cheese and put it on there and and
run it through syrup.
Speaker 3 (49:05):
I really go mustard? Did you? Okay? Well, it's delicious.
Speaker 5 (49:15):
Especially, Hey, let's try that at camp house after we're
all hungry coming in it's freezing cold.
Speaker 3 (49:20):
We'll try it. Y'all will tear it up. Speedy Here
comes some he said. How would Speedy have handled this moment?
He said? I have I have five kids, two boys,
three girls. He said. Both my boys are on the
autism spectrum, he said, so you know it's uh. Sometimes
socially they can be unpredictable. He said. We we don't
(49:41):
always when they're younger bring all of them into worship,
but we do whenever we're taking communion. So during a
very solemn time when we were praying and doing the
grape juice with the bread tablet, my youngest son said,
in a very quiet solemn moment, as loud as you
possibly could, about the grape juice. Oh no, that's disgusting,
(50:02):
he goes. I wonder how speed he would have handled that.
But he said, let me listen. You ever get something
that you don't expect, I mean this kind. I just
smiled when I heard this. Even worse, we were sitting
behind a ninety three year old matriarch of the church.
But let me tell you what happened. I love this.
After the service was over, she turned around to what
I thought was going to be a dressing down of
us as parents. Instead, she told us that she would
(50:25):
much rather be in a position to tame a wildfire
than to raise the dead. Oh and with that, she
gave my son a little pat on the head. Very
that's so sweet. That was a little unexpected that maybe
maybe somebody understanding and encouraging you know what I mean.
Sounds like a great family. So there you go. But
(50:46):
cheese toast with maple syrup.
Speaker 5 (50:48):
I'm just telling you, I don't like y'all say it no.
Speaker 6 (50:54):
Chicken and waffles. Yes, but that's just to cheese and
maple syrup. Does I just can't do it.
Speaker 3 (50:58):
It's just you don't say it. Just try it. You
hating on somebody. I don't know.
Speaker 11 (51:02):
I don't want to try.
Speaker 3 (51:03):
Who will be right back and stay cut?
Speaker 1 (51:07):
This is the Rick Burgess show.
Speaker 3 (51:16):
Go ahead man.
Speaker 1 (51:22):
He was told good luck finding a job that would
pay him to be the class clown. Rick Burgess.
Speaker 3 (51:30):
Uh huh, hanging out with you again today, America fired
up and loving it your opportunity. She will go ahead
to head with Greg coming up before we're done today,
Greg Burgess right again? Could you could find your way
to the wheel? You gotta watch? Am I confused? Am I?
Or am I faking you go? Yes? It's all part
(51:51):
of the game. It is.
Speaker 5 (51:53):
We we're in so many wonderful cities and just cover
so much area and we're blessed to do so. And
but but we have one of our four TVs in here,
we have on one of the local channels, and they're always.
Speaker 3 (52:08):
Doing traffic, you know what I mean.
Speaker 5 (52:10):
And I know every city has this and you've got
your problems and stuff, but they go to these you know,
interstate cams where they show you, hey, here's what's happening.
And every now and then I just see cars sitting
there on those states and I think, what's their life
like right now? And then I think, boy, they need us.
And I just saw Greg and I did Rick. There
(52:32):
is an interstate that is just shut down and it's
just it's just red forever. And I'm thinking, so they're
trying to get somewhere. You can't have nothing, no, not
at all. It connects Birmingham to Atlanta, and I'm thinking,
just everybody's day has been affected, and you hope that
you know, Lord Will and hadn't been a major wreck
or I always try to put myself in the well,
(52:53):
at least I'm not in that wreck, you know, because
that's awful day. Sometimes it's just construction or whatever. But
I always think about that because we sometimes in the
afternoon we get rush hour, but we don't ever have
the morning rush hour.
Speaker 3 (53:07):
No, if we don't, and it doesn't take much. And
if you're like you said, if you ever have an
appointment or you're going to do something on location or whatever,
and you get out in that world while the show's going, yeah,
you realize how much people need us. I've had a
couple of instances on the cost of me commuting over
the past sixteen years. At the time of day I
come in, it's shut down. I've done that. It's been rare.
(53:30):
Thank good, Right, I remember the last one I had
to I re routed and went way out of the way.
But I would never because when you look and they're
just sitting there. No, it's awful. Do you ever you
ever get caught on one of those and for some
reason your GPS didn't mourn you about it, didn't didn't
see it. Yeah, and then you're trapped in it and
it starts warning you about it. You're too late. Yeah,
(53:51):
what do you do? Where were you? Yes? And do
you ever start thinking like crazy thoughts when you sit
there too long? Like I'm just driving into the woods.
I'm coming, I'm coming. I'm driving right through the wood, right.
I think I can go through it, go around the
back and if I can get that happened to me
the last time. I was coming back from Huntsville to
Birmingham and you get down to Birmingham at the junction
(54:12):
and you're like you could go east or go south
or whatever, and just past my turn it showed red
and hey, you can get faster going this way. And
I'm like, you're a half mile behind. Why didn't you
tell me? What are you doing? You know?
Speaker 5 (54:26):
And you want to just have a talking to tondr gap.
Speaker 3 (54:32):
It is the absolute worst. And what about that time
that you foolishly think that you're the only human on
the planet that knows to get off and take this
county road and then you get off and take the
county road and everybody knows about it. Yeah, now you
think you got to see Now you're just in traffic
on the county road, right, Yeah, And you're like, well,
how done was I to think I got some inside information?
(54:52):
Yeah that nobody else could right right? Uh?
Speaker 5 (54:55):
Quick update too for Adler. He got his Southwest check
for his skateboard. If you miss that, yeah he did.
But it looked weird and we had someone reach out
to us that asked, meta, AI, Okay, why do the
personal checks look like they do from Southwest? And it
says because they're typically issued as refunds or reimbursements, which
(55:18):
may include detailed breakdowns of the payment information similar to
a bank stub. That's why they look okay, Okay, I'm
hoping that you you won't have a problem, but.
Speaker 6 (55:27):
I'll give it a shot.
Speaker 7 (55:28):
I'm going to go into a bank today, see if
they recipe for fraud or whatever.
Speaker 3 (55:32):
Right. Well, you know, I don't mean this to be
a dig, because you know that's not my nature. But
I think when you come in there's already a certain
amount of suspect just you know, when they see you,
they're like, okay, let's let's let's run this check and
let's really let's don't just take this without checking everything.
Speaker 6 (55:50):
Yeah, that's fair, that's fine.
Speaker 3 (55:52):
I mean, I don't mean that. I mean as a
compliment in some way. I don't know how, but somehow
it is. You know, Yeah, I get that. I get
that means you're edgy. Let's try that. Okay, you're not
the normal looking dude. Like when people find out you
have like a wife and kids are a little surprised. Shop. Yeah, yeah,
in a good way. And I mean that as a positive.
Speaker 6 (56:12):
Yeah, good for him, he did it. Yeah, he rose
above the circumstances.
Speaker 3 (56:17):
It was a tough fight. And they think about that
kid of theirs, they think may never get married, and
suddenly they're hopeful. Yeah, you know, You've got a family,
so he can do it. Anybody's got a family. I
feel so much better about Darryl. Darryl's perfect. So anyway, So.
Speaker 5 (56:41):
What if we had a stuck in traffic stuff and
stuck in traffic only unscreen phone calls.
Speaker 3 (56:46):
Oh man, there'd be a lot of frustrated people, right, yeah, right,
ain't none worse. You know what's interesting? I hate it
with us having issues with the equipment today involving YouTube,
watching people's response that are now trying other platforms I've
never tried before, and I didn't realize how addicted to
seeing the show you can be. Somebody's like, I've got
the tune and app, everything's fine, but it's just so
(57:07):
much different. I can't see well no, I mean so
he's begging. I need even more to tails from you guys,
because if you've been seeing it and suddenly you don't,
it's there're two different experiences. Yeah, And I've had people
who went to try My wife was one of those
that went to try YouTube that never did that option.
And all they've ever done is hear the show, never
(57:29):
seen it, and then when they go to see it,
they're like, well, now that's a completely different experience. They're
both different. They look goofy stuff like that. Well, yeah, yeah,
we do. I tried that seeing thing. I don't want
that again. I didn't realize that's the new shirt, Rick
hat On. I thought it was the other one, right,
stuff like that. What about when people think they're the
first person ever to tell you for radio? Yeah, we've
(57:51):
used that enough over the guys that we all got
that out there. We've done that when it was good.
When it first came, it was like that, that was
like that was like a pretty hearty laugh somewhere around
ninety seven. Oh yeah, you know, and it might have
made it to ninety eight. But after that, Yeah, I'll
tell you watch you'll on YouTube. Y'all got fight radio.
(58:12):
And you're always cross eyed when you do that. Yeah,
when I when I'm that person in their eyes always
a little off by the way, Well I better be
slightly slightly off. You keep doing that with the vox seats,
you're like slightly off, But that that has they don't
know that, they don't, but they then they look at
their picture and go, whin's everybody crossing? Right? What's Greg
(58:34):
looking at? I'm slightly off? It makes the picture unique. Yeah,
I want to do this for Greg. I know because
I know you speedy already know because you put this
out for us today. I want to bring up a
picture of someone and I want Greg to try to
tell us who it is. Okay, and I'll show this
(58:55):
stab or where he can, so I'll know this person.
You should, but I don't think you don't know him
in this picture. Okay.
Speaker 1 (59:01):
This is the Rick Burgess Show in a world let
us gone nuts. They are here to well to point
(59:25):
it up, the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 3 (59:30):
Thank you for being with us today, America, and we've
got an opportunity for you to maybe get a hassle
out of your life. Here it comes. Sell my house fast.
I'm in a buying birch. Got a house I need
to move. I need to move fast. I'm getting my
companies moving me. I've inherited my mama's old old house
(59:53):
down on some land you know, or some abandoned house. Hey.
I tried to be sharp and be a landlord, and
now these tenants have driven me nuts. I'll never do
that again. I need to sell these properties. Well, we've
solved that problem for you right now with our friends
at Sell my house fast, transparent, it's fair price. Here's
(01:00:14):
the money you want. Let's get this house done. We'll
even repair it if it needs to be repaired. We'll
move things out of it. If things need to be moved.
They'll handle all of that. Okay, they'll clean it up whatever.
So why don't you call them one eight hundred seven
three four zero five zero four. They have five star
Google reviews everywhere, and go to Rick burgessshow dot com
(01:00:38):
under sponsors. You also can find their phone number there.
Sell my house fast. This is the answer to the
issue you're having. So go ahead and get this done
in it's turnkey handle. So there's a picture here that
has sent the show is shocked. This is a picture
(01:01:01):
of someone that is pretty well known on the set
of a new movie that he's doing and we we
can't believe this is who we think it is. If
you look at this picture, who in the world? Wow,
do you think.
Speaker 6 (01:01:17):
That is John Voight?
Speaker 3 (01:01:20):
Good? That's John? Text about to say with the wig on.
We're looking at this picture, guys, guys, what would you
what was the gay comedian? That's I should have been
more specific, you know Andy something and oh, I know
(01:01:44):
you telling about to be a gay man with that
last name. Must be a struggle. But but anyway, so yeah,
but he doesn't like it looks like it does. Okay,
are you all ready for who that is? That is
Jonah Hill? What the Jonah Hills way different because he
(01:02:08):
had kind of a frow. Yeah, and that may be
for the part in the movie. But look how slimmy
is shot. It's got to be shots. He's one of
them that would lose weight, blow back up, lose weight,
blow back up. Yeah, he uh, Jonah Hill. And now
that doesn't look like him at all, y'all. So we're
gonna describe what what it looks like? Thin, very thin person. Yeah,
is that is that a wig?
Speaker 12 (01:02:30):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (01:02:30):
I think he's a comedy cyrial, curly tight hair. Aren't
they filming something about he's a twin somebody's twin in that?
Speaker 3 (01:02:37):
And he did? I think I have no idea. It's
in the it's in the story. So the guys, let
me tell you this. I was, I was talking to
the guys in the room. I know that if you
you can't see the picture, uh, but he he he.
At one time, I don't like when when I see
fat people getting involved in using the term body shaming.
(01:02:59):
Come on, I mean, that's that's taking ourselves too serious. Look,
if you're a little heavy, you know, Bubba and I
made a living at it for three decades, not taking
ourselves too serious. We knew we were a little plump.
And you know, you make the jokes, you cut up.
It takes the pressure off everybody else. You know, to
go ahead acknowledge you know the chubby person in the room. Uh.
(01:03:22):
And he at one time had in twenty twenty one,
had an Instagram post where he said, you wish people
would stop commenting on his body, and he said, I
know you you mean well, but I kindly ask you
not comment on my body, a good or bad. I
just don't want any discussion of my physical body at all,
if possible. I'm adding that part. But that's when you
(01:03:44):
blow up. Yeah, makedown, Well, I mean it, I think
right there. Wow, I think it's it's unreasonable if you're
someone who came on the scene and we're well known
for being heavy, and then you addressed it, which I
think is a good thing and lost weight if you
(01:04:04):
did it in a healthy way, And I don't think
you can expect people to not comment on it. I mean,
because you haven't always looked this way and now you
look different. Yeah, I think, don't you think that's an
unreasonable even if you're saying, hey, you've go he don't
want to hear. But he has deleted that, so maybe
he's not asking for that anymore. But guys, those of
(01:04:25):
you that can't see the picture, just go google the
movie cut off in Jonah Hill. You won't believe what
you're saying. One, he hasn't just lost we hes stressed
up obviously as a character. Right, but look look at
how skinny is in the in the wardrobe very I mean,
he's he's really really skinny. And I don't know how
he did it. I assume he may be the shots,
(01:04:46):
but I don't know. I don't know how whatever I mean.
Speaker 5 (01:04:48):
He tried to get down to look like is it
Kristin Wig or w I I G? Maybe yeahs from
SNL Okay, Uh, they're they're twins in this movie.
Speaker 3 (01:05:00):
Okay, I bet it's funny because he's funny. Yeah, he
goes a little. Yeah he does. But and look, Jonah
Hill can be very funny and like you said, and
then sometimes you know he I remember when he was heavy,
like one time he pretended he was He and his
buddy were they were all in on it together, and
it looked like that the reporter was being i mean,
(01:05:23):
very crass and mean about his weight, and he got
all mad and stormed off. And now come to find
out that was just a set up. Yeah. So uh
so anyway, it is shocking to see Jonah Hill right now. Yeah,
because I'm like you, Greg, I thought he I thought
he dropped some and then started picking it back up.
But now it's dropped again, Yeah, in a big way.
(01:05:45):
And uh but you know, sometimes, like you say, it
may be that that after the the role, I mean,
he will he put it back on. I mean, I
bet he goes to a different hairdoge. Like I was shocked.
I saw a thing. I forget what movie it was,
do you Christian Bale? You know he'll just do anything
to be right for the role. Yeah, and lose weight. Yeah. Anyway,
And at one time have you seen when he was
(01:06:06):
like fat, yeld gut and he had a shirt on,
button was hanging out, I didn't care, crazy, Yeah, and
he's tat it up. Yeah, he has.
Speaker 7 (01:06:15):
Jonah Hill has been uh look here's a fat and
then not his fat picture of him or not fat
at all pictures, and jiu jitsu has been something.
Speaker 3 (01:06:23):
There has gotten.
Speaker 6 (01:06:26):
That will that will wear you out.
Speaker 3 (01:06:28):
You'll let him get you on the ground.
Speaker 6 (01:06:29):
You'll burn some calories in jiu jitsu for sure.
Speaker 3 (01:06:31):
By the way, I have the long sleeve version, but
the fat picture of Jonah Hill I had that exact shirt. Yeah,
so uh yeah, so it is h he has. He
has dropped the weight and if jiu jitsu and working
out and all that has helped, you know, for it
not to be you know, when you're dropping weight as
(01:06:52):
best you can, try try to move around and exercise,
so it kind of you know your body like Jelly Roll, right,
I haven't haven't seen Jelly Jelly as the lot I
knew I knew for him.
Speaker 5 (01:07:06):
I was talking music with Greg earlier, and did you
know his song Heart of Soul Jelly Roll is number.
Speaker 3 (01:07:12):
One on country charts.
Speaker 5 (01:07:14):
That means that every that's his eighth consecutive number one hit,
which means that every single that Jelly has released to
country radio is gone number one country country radio has
gone number one radio.
Speaker 3 (01:07:26):
Did you think we were going to cut you off?
You start, miss buddy?
Speaker 6 (01:07:31):
You got it.
Speaker 3 (01:07:34):
I just I didn start calling y'all that was no.
It looked like it looked like you were afraid something
was going to explode. If you if you, well, I
knew with y'all, Yeah, it's gotta be with it.
Speaker 6 (01:07:43):
Five seconds five seconds.
Speaker 3 (01:07:46):
I was asking, are we causing this? Yes, because I
told you I'm to start making those I told you that. No,
because that is something else. Every hit is on number one,
so he is. He hain't had a dud everything he released.
I'm tired of it. But you are?
Speaker 6 (01:08:06):
Yeah, why so you're that guy Row?
Speaker 3 (01:08:10):
Of course he's not good, and I'm glad he ain't
as fat as he was and all that, but just
and we brought that down from everybody likes him. I
need a break from jailer brow. Are you shocked at
Greg has a statute? I'm not, I mean, is not
really in your life? You can avoid him now. He's
in my life lot. He's on a lot of TV stuff.
He look for a while he became country music's Patty Lubelle.
(01:08:32):
You're right, he was on hosted every show everything. Nah
good for doing No look listen if you want if
you like Jelly, you got plenty. Yes, yeah, I'm not
drafting mcgreg I'm just making the point. There's nothing wrong.
I'm just saying sometimes we get a little overexposed. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:08:48):
Sure.
Speaker 3 (01:08:48):
And you know, and the thing that worries as much
wady o play Okay, Well, no, one of the things
that worries you about that, because we've seen it in
the past, and I thought we had kind of addressed
it is that the machine, and I'm talking about specifically
big machine, but the machine that brings you out. You know,
once he made that deal, member, I almost didn't make
it because he was doing so well on YouTube. You know,
(01:09:10):
his encoder went out and that was the end of that.
But but no, when he remember, he said it was
tough for me to transition because I was like, yeah,
I'm doing pretty good without all y'all. Yeah, but once
he stepped in to go to the next level with
all these people that can give you even a bigger platform.
They a lot of times run these artists into the ground,
you with them up while they're hot. Yeah, and I'm like, Jelly,
(01:09:30):
you know, face yourself, now, face yourself. You're on everything.
And I don't know how in the world these singers
sing as much as they do without destroying their voice.
I mean, especially on that schedule night after night. Yeah,
and so, Greg, you're burned out on jelly Row. Nothing bad,
I mean, I'm just you know, you're happy. Are you
have your first weight loss? I am okay? Running in
(01:09:53):
five ks? You look down at that.
Speaker 1 (01:09:57):
This is the Rick Burtish Show. Only in America? Could
these four men do this for a living God bless America?
(01:10:21):
This is the Wick Budgets Show.
Speaker 3 (01:10:25):
All right, we're back. Thanks for being with us today Wednesday.
Bible study back today noon Central, one o'clock Eastern on
the YouTube channel if it's working, and we'll have that
for you today the archives soon after. All right. So
a couple of things people from text Nation saying jelly
(01:10:46):
Row is just music, and it's good music, but it's
not country music. Well here we go again with all this.
Well he's not the only artist considered country. I think
that doesn't sound country.
Speaker 7 (01:10:56):
No.
Speaker 3 (01:10:56):
I remember Zach Brown Band, you know, when they were
appearing on them the Rick and Bubba Show. I never
thought they were a country music act. I thought they
were just a music act. I didn't really know where
they fell. It's all according to when you come out
you know, if Jelly Row would have come out in
the seventies, he would not have been country music. He
would have been on just your top forty radio stations
(01:11:16):
and all that, just like everybody everybody else. The Eagles,
if they came out today, would probably be deemed a
country artist. The stuff, the early stuff especially, So it's
just all it's whatever platform they can get you the
largest audience. And I don't think I think the younger
country music artists they're not as concerned with maybe the
(01:11:37):
things the older country music artist artists would consider. You know,
you have to have this for it to be branded.
Country music has to have a certain sound or whatever.
So yeah, to me, if when we were like growing up,
Jelly Row would have just been on the radio, he
wouldn't have just been on country radio. There was a
time when these fragmented formats didn't even exist. I mean,
(01:12:00):
you you listen to your top forty radio station and
it played Alabama, it played you know, right, Crosby Stills
in Nash, it played Haul of Oates, it played Doctor Hook,
you know, all these were all on the same radio station.
You know. Then then it would play, you know, something
that was a little more rock. It was just all hits,
(01:12:21):
no matter what it was. And then it started becoming
important to be labeled what format you were. Yeah, and
it all became specialized. And then people argue about, you know,
if it's specialized, then it doesn't belong on this. But
think about it. If Jelly Row wants to be played
on the radio of the now that it's all fragmented,
(01:12:42):
which one would he be because you're really pretty much
all you have is Top forty, which leans a little
more hip hop now and he's on all that. Yeah,
you on that?
Speaker 4 (01:12:52):
You have?
Speaker 3 (01:12:52):
You have adult contemporary? Did they play new songs? I
don't even know. You've got your classic rock stations, You've
got you, you got your country music stations that there's
not that many options any one of the biggest examples
BlackBerry Smoke, which I love, had never heard of them,
and they had been out a while. They weren't new,
(01:13:13):
and I know a lot of people saying, well, hey, man,
I started, and then you look, they've been doing this
a long time. They're too country for rock radio and
too rock for country radio correct, so they're never gonna
get them. They're extremely successful, but they're not gonna get airplay. Yes,
not the first time I heard They're incredible. Yeah, the
first time I heard Zach Brown band, I thought the
same thing. I said, there's no radio home for them.
They don't fit anywhere, and whoever in their circle, whatever
(01:13:37):
record company decided to bring them country was brilliant because
it worked. But I don't think they ever considered themselves
country artists and probably still don't trying to find one.
The first time I heard them, I thought, well, who's
gonna play Van Morrison? This is a Van Morrison kind
of band, and where are they going to find a
radio home? But they brilliantly did it. Oh, Chicken Fried
(01:13:59):
got it done. Somebody decided that was country enough and
that one and that opened the door? Boy did it?
Speaker 6 (01:14:04):
You know who a country act?
Speaker 7 (01:14:07):
It is a great I don't know, maybe you don't
call them a country act, but a southern sounding act
that I finally gave a ton to is the Red
Clay Strait.
Speaker 10 (01:14:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:14:16):
I love them. Yeah. I listen to them for.
Speaker 7 (01:14:18):
About an hour and a half yesterday and I kind
of just dabbled in the hits, but I got a
lot deeper into the catalog and how about I The
more I listened to them, the more I even like them,
and that doesn't happen a lot of time.
Speaker 6 (01:14:29):
You know some artists you're like, all right, I get it.
Speaker 7 (01:14:32):
Uh, And you could say that they have a one
note sound to them, but I think after listening to
a lot of their stuff, I don't think that's the case.
I think they have their own sound. I think they
really My respect for that band has gone up exponentially.
Listen to their their entire interview on Joe Rogan so
recently did you say that? And it started out great.
(01:14:54):
They took a great stand for Christ right at the beginning,
but then they later on got started getting into the
Book of Enoch I don't know, and some things like
that and talking about it as if it was the
gospel and that.
Speaker 6 (01:15:05):
That was a little troubling to me. So I got
to dig into all that.
Speaker 3 (01:15:08):
But well, I saw the one that you saw, but
I didn't get I didn't go all the way into
that interview. I'm kind of the opposite of people who
loved the long form format. I'm the kind of person
that goes, now, I don't know if we need to
talk that long to the same person. You know it is,
I mean, it can work, but so I watched the
clip about them talking about their faith and how well
(01:15:30):
that worked in a band on the road because nobody
was the arrogant prima donna. They would literally argue over
who was going to sleep on the floor, not who
not who was going to get the bed because of
their devotion to their their faith, they were they all
wanted to be selfless, and he said that really serves
well when you're all on the road together and nobody
(01:15:52):
thinks they're better than anybody else or should be treated differently,
or should be the one that gets to bed all
the time because I'm the lead singer or whatever. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:15:59):
Yeah, I was so impressed with them, and I dug
deeper into some of their songs.
Speaker 6 (01:16:03):
I was very impressed with the lyrics of their songs.
Speaker 7 (01:16:06):
And that's why I was so surprised for them to
turn that direction later on in the interview, because they
they the lead singer especially, did a great job of
talking about what it is to be a follower of
Christ and have a larger purpose in your life. And
it was it was that part.
Speaker 6 (01:16:22):
It was great. The other parts of it, I was
a little worried.
Speaker 3 (01:16:25):
Well, I'll tell this to you and I'm not gonna
come down as hard on that as you may think,
because I get a lot of Book of Enoch emails.
I mean a lot, especially now that we're doing strange encounters,
and I tell people I have nothing to do with it.
I don't. I don't consider the Book of Enoch to
be worthy of my time. You know, I go with
(01:16:49):
the canonized scriptures. But I do think as long as
you don't start changing redemption and the Gospel, I don't
see it as a primary issue. I almost see it
as a secondary issue. Agree, like you know, disagreeing on
you know, free will and and you know Calvinism versus
(01:17:13):
our Minionism. You know, are you know, I know some
people believe the baptism thing is a major issue. I
think that people can disagree on water baptism being part
of redemption, are an act of obedience, and we all
still get the gospel right now. Some people disagree with that.
But but I look at Enoch is a secondary issue. Agree.
(01:17:35):
I wouldn't read it. I don't ever promote it. When
people ask me about it, I say I wouldn't. I
wouldn't give that any of your time. And like I said,
there's enough in the Canoni of scriptures that you need
to know.
Speaker 6 (01:17:46):
And I listened to the entire thing, and they didn't
do that.
Speaker 7 (01:17:49):
They did not There was never an issue with them changing,
like you said, the story of redemption. So yes, you
could put it into like a pre trib post trib
kind of debate, and they approached it very much as
like a historical thing, not a changing the route to
(01:18:10):
salvation thing, which was great, so that that was more
reassuring but speedy. I thought about you the whole time
listening to that interview and the whole time listening to
that music yesterday, because it is I was so impressed
with them.
Speaker 11 (01:18:21):
Man.
Speaker 7 (01:18:22):
I knew like maybe four songs and I got like
twenty songs deep, thirty songs deep yesterday and it is
great stuff, great cool country sound automobile Alabama with the
Red Clay.
Speaker 6 (01:18:32):
Station and they're huge, they are they are four en them.
Speaker 3 (01:18:36):
I love them. Top of the hour. We'll be right,
Max Stecklos.
Speaker 1 (01:18:46):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 3 (01:19:06):
About It America. Let's get started brand new.
Speaker 13 (01:19:11):
I we're on a brand new dayasting from.
Speaker 3 (01:19:15):
The real world. It real as there has been an
attempt to create a world that is not real Uh.
So when you tune in here, get you back to reality. Sure,
and we thank you for being here. However you are here,
whether it be live or archives. Y. All right, So
(01:19:36):
check the store by the way, some brand new items
at the Rick Burgess Show Store if you haven't checked
that lately, or you can text store to eight eight
eight six two four four eight six nine. That's our
text line. It's eight eight eight six big vox to
text store. You can see it. Some brand new stuff there,
and we got some new items still to come. And then,
of course as we move toward believe it or not,
(01:19:58):
what I'm saying, as we moved toward ending our first
year as the Rick Burgess Show, we will release the
first ever Rick Burgess Show Best of c D. And
I got a text from Speedy yesterday and he's saying
he's the one who produces those and puts those together.
Speaker 5 (01:20:16):
He said, I I'm I'm having a blast. Oh it's
it's it's fun. I always, you know, get set up
this time of year at the house.
Speaker 3 (01:20:24):
Yep. Uh.
Speaker 5 (01:20:25):
And and Terry is entertained most of time. I have
my headphones on, but every now and then it's coming
out the speaker of the of the computer and she
gets to laughing too. But there's been a couple where
I have been down. I mean, yes, I mean laughing,
and a lot of it's just pure chaos. There's one
of Adler I'm gonna keep to myself. Uh oh really,
(01:20:47):
he remembers if I was to say something. But it's
funny what we did to him.
Speaker 3 (01:20:52):
God, it's funny, easy, still a little wounded, I know. So,
So that'll be uh, that'll be coming out usually the
hard copy CDs, and a lot of you are letting
me know you still want that to be an option. Now,
we don't produce near as many of those as we
did way back in the Rick and Bubby years early on.
(01:21:13):
We even started reducing the number of those greatly toward
the end of the Rick and Bubba three decades. But
we will have some hard copies will still be there
at the store. But then and we're trying to get
it to streaming quicker. We've learned over the years. But
we should be you should be turning all that in.
Speaker 5 (01:21:31):
The goal is is that we want to have it
the Monday of Thanksgiving week it's out, ye, And so
we'll be turning that in a couple of weeks and
they'll they'll push it through.
Speaker 3 (01:21:41):
So anyway, so look forward to that. That'll be coming
up later on and they'll and then we'll move our
way into our first ever Christmas season together. And of
course we have learned even though we do have one
grand prize, I think you're going to like that's a
big time gift, but we also are going to to
just concentrate on money. We think the thing you want
(01:22:05):
more than anything is cash. We've given a lot of
it away. We'll let you know how we're gonna do
all that. But that that'll work, that's all. Yeah, I know,
I know y'all can't believe that, but it's we're in October.
Oh yeah, but look here, we're so far number ten,
by the way, we're so far along in the year
(01:22:25):
that the city of Pittsburgh has already put up their
Christmas tree. You got to be way too early, that
way way too early. Is that not insane? Uh?
Speaker 5 (01:22:37):
And uh, here's a little kid rick out of my
channel that talks about the little Christmas tree being up
in Pittsburgh.
Speaker 14 (01:22:43):
I really saw it. Because we're gonna ice skate on
me and my family are gonna ice skate on the tree.
But I gotta say they should have waited for Halloween first.
Speaker 3 (01:22:55):
Yeah. Yeah, the little kid even knows that too much too.
It's before the holidays. It's up again.
Speaker 5 (01:23:03):
That's a local news channel the way.
Speaker 3 (01:23:07):
Wait, how about this, Christmas trees and pumpkins don't need
to be able to get together. Makes sense.
Speaker 5 (01:23:13):
We've talked about this, but forgive me, I have forgotten.
What is y'all's most favorite time of the year. Is
it as you kind of lean into the holidays and
you you know, I know, I know you like cooler weather,
I know that, But it is the fall into the
holidays season.
Speaker 3 (01:23:26):
Is that your favorite time? Kind of like that? You know?
You know I do? I do like that. The only
thing that is Brandon I know Greg pretty well. The
only problem, and I agree with him. There's I wish
we could really I don't. There's a lot of pressure,
the charts coming down on you. To me, that takes
away from it. You know, the decorating is to me
(01:23:51):
for some reason, I have a hard time making that fun.
That's why I did a turnkey because I wanted to
have my life back on that. A lot of it,
but you know, dealing with the trees, and they got
to go up, then they got to come down. And
everybody's got it. We got everybody's gifts done. And how
we're gonna plan this thing. We'll say so and so
can't come. Then what about that? So then that that
part of it, I thought, I like this time of
(01:24:12):
the year. Now you pretty much pointed out everything. I
hate it, But no I'm saying that that makes that
keeps me from embracing it fully. But I honestly, honestly
now where we live right now, we got duped a
little bit because it last weekend was so nice. Now
it's gotten hot again this week. As I found out
yesterday when I was trying to do a little better,
(01:24:33):
I was like, where does he come from? But I
really do enjoy the month of October, uh, because it
gets it gets you know, the humidity. Of course this
week's different, careful, but but the humidity usually goes away
where we live. You start getting a little bit of coolness.
I love the way the sky looks in October. It's
(01:24:54):
like cobalt blue on a on a little sunny day
with no humidity. Of course, now I'm not talking about this.
Apparently this week is gonna ruin that. But when we
get back to that and what we had last weekend,
I really enjoy And because there's there's not a lot
of pressure. We don't do Halloween, so we don't have
to fool with that. I don't like going in somewhere,
(01:25:14):
you know, and feel like I've stepped into the meeting
of the occult, you know, at a store, but those weird.
I just stay away from all that. But but other
than that, I really like football is usually good in
October and fun to watch games. And then probably one
thing that I'm starting to love more and more about,
especially hunting, is you know when it when we finally
(01:25:38):
have our first frost and all the underbrush dies and
all the mosquitoes go away, and you can see deep
into the woods because all all of that's died off
and the leaves are gone, and you can see those
hard woods, and and you can look deep and see
things in the woods you couldn't see before. That's why
Gray's gonna climb. Gray's gonna climb. I'll be all over there,
(01:25:59):
you know. I really I really enjoy that. I like
being I like being layered up and going out on
kind of a brisk day where you cheach you a
little red if you don't watch them and walk through
the woods? Yeah, I love that. Isn't that great? Yeah?
So I don't mind Winter, I really don't. I know
some people don't like it.
Speaker 6 (01:26:14):
I don't mind winning bugs alone. Maybe say all right,
let's go let's deep freez Yeah mine with it?
Speaker 3 (01:26:20):
Yeah yeah, yeah, so that.
Speaker 6 (01:26:21):
Bugs and Chafing alone.
Speaker 3 (01:26:23):
Yes, right, somebody's asking on text Nation too. And I
did notice this Adler, you know, when people are saying,
have you have you ever thought about the fact that
Vinyl has returned put out the best of album on vinyl?
You know, Vinyl is back. Yeah. I don't participate in it,
(01:26:45):
but Vinyl is back. I mean I saw some of
these kids that Adler unfortunately, you know, think Taylor Swift
is gonna teach me about life and they went and
you know, bought her dirty album and uh and I
could see them pictures of them walking out of record
stores with albums. So albums are legit now.
Speaker 6 (01:27:04):
Albums have all out sold CDs.
Speaker 7 (01:27:07):
I forget when that happened, but having a few years ago,
as far as physical sales.
Speaker 6 (01:27:11):
Of copies, albums are back.
Speaker 13 (01:27:13):
Man.
Speaker 7 (01:27:13):
Albums are fun the pictures are bigger, you get to
hold it, you get to watch it spin, lay the
needl down. It's just a it's a great medium.
Speaker 5 (01:27:22):
And the players have come so far. They're bluetooth now,
so you can grab one and you know, and have
the vinyl and bluetooth it into your system at home
where you don't have to like connect it through the
wires and all they may.
Speaker 3 (01:27:34):
They've made it really simple. You remember the days when
you had you had to go get the right speakers.
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah that was but but now you
can just go get one of those Bluetooth speakers and
they're good. Oh yeah, those big ones. I got one
in big ones is good. Yeah. Look, I grew up
in the vinyl days. I'm I've had my feeling that
I don't need to do that again. Really, to me,
(01:27:54):
the greatest form of music was the CD YEP. I
love the way it sounded good if it's durable. Yeah.
But now, but now the new artists, they're going to
have a certain amount of albums out there, probably more
than C did. Like I say, they're expensive.
Speaker 5 (01:28:07):
If you watch Bosh and he comes home and throws
some jazz music on, who is Bosh?
Speaker 3 (01:28:13):
Who show.
Speaker 5 (01:28:14):
It's a show off Amazon Prime. It's it's an l
A detective. Uh yeah, I'm nember one of these.
Speaker 3 (01:28:20):
You just like that.
Speaker 5 (01:28:22):
But he well, because whenever he would come home, he
would he would throw an album on his on his
player and play the jazz music.
Speaker 3 (01:28:29):
You like it? It was it made me want but
it made me want one. I'll be honest, what are
you going to start listening to jazz? Or just wanted
to do it for a second.
Speaker 2 (01:28:36):
There?
Speaker 5 (01:28:36):
You know, he's got his own playlist on a lot
of these streaming deals that for a second, I did.
Speaker 3 (01:28:41):
Listen to a little bit of a little bit of jazz,
did I didn't know that all right?
Speaker 7 (01:28:43):
Twenty twenty three, Vinyl out cell CDs forty one million
albums sold compared to thirty three million CDs.
Speaker 3 (01:28:50):
Wow, great iron screen phone calls.
Speaker 1 (01:28:53):
Next is The Rick Burgess Show. Enjoy the best moments
of the three decades of The Rick and Bubba Show
by listening to Rick and Bubba's greatest hits and Radio
(01:29:16):
Gold the podcast available wherever you get podcasts, and know
the most dangerous ten minutes in radio unscreened phone calls.
Get in now by dialing one eight eight eight six,
big box.
Speaker 3 (01:29:31):
Yeah, here we go America, as we will now turn
the show over to you. Unscreamed phone calls and we
got ten lines, so a lot of you can get
in and we just screen these babies on the fly.
That's the excitement, that's the risks we take. We are willing,
(01:29:53):
and this has turned out to be one of all
of you, apparently your favorite segments. So here we go. Hello,
you're on the Rick Burgers Show. Unscreen phone calls.
Speaker 8 (01:30:03):
Go ahead, good morning boys, how are you all.
Speaker 3 (01:30:06):
We're fantastic. Hope you're well.
Speaker 8 (01:30:08):
Yes, they're doing good speed to you. Was talking about
traffic earlier, and I brought up a memory I had
so back in April. I'm not very proud of this,
but back in April, I was on my twenty head
and east, and I mean we were instance still traffic
and I didn't know what it was. So, you know,
we were there for about thirty minutes and I looked
at my GPS and it said it's gonna be like
three hours before we can move, and so I.
Speaker 11 (01:30:31):
Was fed up with it.
Speaker 8 (01:30:32):
So I decided to turn around and try to go
back because we were like a mile from the hethlen exit,
and so I tried. I tried to turn around and
go on the shoulder and go back. And I was
doing fine for a minute, and then we had an
emergency service truck coming on the median. Oh no, and
so and so I got off on the grass and
(01:30:54):
I let him buy it. As soon as I started
to go, I slid right down into the embankment.
Speaker 3 (01:31:01):
You can no, I mean, you can't even double back
now you are in a boat.
Speaker 8 (01:31:07):
And so I turned around down there, and as I mean,
as soon as I get down there, traffic starts to go. Yeah,
And so I put her in four and I mash
it to the floor and I don't. By the grace
of God, I got back out, but my truck was covered.
Speaker 3 (01:31:23):
Oh I bet you were you You can't Rick Burgers
show unscreened phone calls, go.
Speaker 10 (01:31:32):
He is katy again.
Speaker 2 (01:31:37):
If y'all guys could ban one phrase that people say
too much, right now, what would it be?
Speaker 3 (01:31:42):
Uh? The misuse of literally? Uh? I mean I literally
was standing on top of the mountain. No, No, you
really weren't. Literally unless you're up there. Uh. No, one
knows how to use the word literally, anybody, Okay, that
and still, and this is from going on for years.
It's not what you know good. I'm still good. I
don't know how well we've eradicated that. You don't hear
(01:32:04):
it much. We've taken care of couldn't care less. So yeah,
I don't know what I know. Yeah, I don't know.
And then I then I literally not unless it actually happened.
I'm tired. Everybody's saying, check checks all boxes. That's good,
and I would I'll be okay with us dropping gaslighting. Yeah, uh,
(01:32:25):
we continue it just checks all boxes. Rick Burgess Show,
unscreened phone calls. Go ahead, morning, guys, how y'all doing?
We're good? I got three things. No.
Speaker 4 (01:32:36):
One is the live stream down from YouTube?
Speaker 3 (01:32:38):
Yes, because I can't get to load. Okay, sorry body, Yeah,
it's equipment. Equipment has broken down. The archive will be
there today, live option will not.
Speaker 15 (01:32:49):
Okay, awesome, Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:32:51):
Another thing I got too, persons free.
Speaker 15 (01:32:52):
I want to try out Larry and Donald Trump.
Speaker 3 (01:32:55):
Okay, let's let's be good, all.
Speaker 10 (01:32:56):
Right, speedy, Hey, hey, I got some passage for you.
Speaker 3 (01:33:02):
Not bad, not that's not bad at all. It's not bad.
You want to stop while you're ahead, or try Trump.
I'm gonna try the Trump one.
Speaker 2 (01:33:11):
Good morning, gentlemen. How are y'all today? Oh, having a
great day. I'm having a great day.
Speaker 11 (01:33:16):
I love the Rick Burgers show.
Speaker 2 (01:33:17):
You do God's work, great work, and I hope you'll
have a blessed day in America.
Speaker 3 (01:33:22):
Thank you better too much. Trump. Towards the end of Trump,
you just became yourself again. Yeah, exactly. It's like he
walked up to the edge of Trump and then he
stepped back. So it was actually you slightly.
Speaker 5 (01:33:37):
Sounded like we have a Joe Rogan clip today where
Joe Rogan tries Trump and it's not that bad.
Speaker 3 (01:33:42):
Okay, Uh, Rick Burgers Show, unscreened phone calls. Go ahead, Hey, Rose,
how y'all doing this morning? We're good man, I hope
you're well. Oh we fine.
Speaker 10 (01:33:53):
I just told you boy, we got so we want
to bring your table, all right?
Speaker 11 (01:33:57):
If you if you.
Speaker 10 (01:33:58):
If y'all guys, okay, work day to day with someone
and you wanted to witness to them maybe one day
I'm a Christian, by the way, we all ought and
and you found out they were like Muslim or something
like that, would you have a debate with them or
would you just say, okay, we're don't leave that alone.
Speaker 3 (01:34:18):
Well, what would you do? Well if it was a Muslim? See,
that's that's that's a little different. I mean, I want
to know how committed they are to killing infidels. That'd
be a huge thing to know. But I think it
goes back to usually what you want to do is
to first of all, you want to live your life
out in front of them in a way that that
might show something that brings up a question like, oh,
(01:34:40):
why did you do that? Well, the reason why I
do that is because I'm a follower of Jesus and
the day with it, you also would find common ground
if you're talking to a Muslim. They take Jesus a
long way, even in you know, recognize him as a prophet.
So you know, you can talk about you know where
they jump off, you know, Jesus is where they they
don't acknowledg him as being the son of God and
(01:35:01):
being deity, and you could talk about why you do uh.
And so I think I usually just treat it the
way I do everything else in my life that matters
to me. You know, if I'm willing to tell you
about a restaurant that you just cannot miss it just
seems odd. I wouldn't talk about eternity something that is
(01:35:21):
the key to my eternity, so I would just talk
about it in the same way you do everything else
that you love and deem about you. But I find
those common ground conversations to get into that usually works
really well. We continue, workers show unscreen phone calls. Go ahead.
Hi is this Gabriel, Hey, Gabriel, go ahead.
Speaker 8 (01:35:45):
So I was going to talk about the Alabama game
on Saturday.
Speaker 15 (01:35:48):
Okay, did y'all see when the Vandy quarterback he threw
the shovel pad did yep? Huh, Well he dug a
six ft hold.
Speaker 10 (01:35:59):
We bear in a.
Speaker 3 (01:35:59):
Minute, ricks, Okay, buddy, I don't he's been waiting. He
didn't know how he was gonna get that line to work,
and he's been trying to find a way. So thank you, Gabriel.
Rick Burgers show unscreen phone calls, Go ahead.
Speaker 15 (01:36:17):
I was just checking to see if y'all have heard
y'all seen the thing about the Hefflin Police Department and
the seniors of the high school there.
Speaker 3 (01:36:26):
Yeah, yeah, I understand they rolled the police department. Yeah,
and then the police department say, hey, really good job.
This is one of the best rollings ever something. I
think it was all good hearted. Yeah, I think they
got some good compliments. Rested four or five people than that. Yes.
Rick Burgers Show, unscreen phone calls go ahead.
Speaker 15 (01:36:45):
Buried Dish and boy Tom from City. Hey, y'all, I'm
doing those Rick Clay straight man, right off the bat.
I hit the one played one, so.
Speaker 3 (01:36:57):
Sorry Tom, the phone breaking up. Rick Bergers Show on
screen phone calls go ahead of.
Speaker 11 (01:37:03):
Hey, guys, how are doing this morning?
Speaker 8 (01:37:05):
Good?
Speaker 4 (01:37:06):
So look, I was leaving the Ricksbriefield concert last night
and I stepped out in.
Speaker 3 (01:37:10):
The morning and it literally started raining.
Speaker 2 (01:37:14):
I said, I just checked all the boxes, so I
stopped going. I looked to the gold next to me
and said, how you doing?
Speaker 3 (01:37:24):
Oh you should have gone what you know good?
Speaker 8 (01:37:26):
There?
Speaker 3 (01:37:27):
You had, you had it going you it didn't finish well,
what you know good? Should have gone right there. We'll
be right back step.
Speaker 1 (01:37:37):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, a man who was
old enough to point out that there is no such
thing as dog years. Dogs just don't live as long
as humans. Rick.
Speaker 3 (01:37:59):
Here we go, America, and we thank you for being
with us today. As we work to another one again.
Equipment has died on the YouTube option, so it's hit
or miss today. But the archive will be there, but
your live option not there today. That will include the
(01:38:21):
Wednesday Bible studies. So if you normally watch the Wednesday
Bible Study live, that option will not be available to
you today, but you will be able to watch it
on the archive and the archive audio archive, of course
will be unaffected. It will also be on the podcast channel,
so you do, you will be able to get it today.
You just can't do the YouTube live option. Guys coming
(01:38:44):
to be in the room. You're not you're not affected
by that. We we will we will do the Bible
study today. The only thing you won't have is the
YouTube live option. You will have the archive both video
and audio today. So just f y I and we've
got some equipment that needs to be replaced. The good
news is we have the new equipment. It's just a
(01:39:04):
process of replacing it. So just sorry for that inconvenience
for you all of you today. But you know, these
things happen. Let's talk a little bit. I know that
you speedy have an audio clip that you want us
to try to figure out what's going on. We also
have a very uncomfortable. Bill Belichick update today, very uncomfortable. Yeah,
(01:39:27):
and we continue to follow this Mark Sanchez story. Wow, man,
well Sanchez. So let's go audio clip first. It just
creates conversation here. What do y'all think this guy saw? Okay,
what do you think is going on?
Speaker 16 (01:39:40):
At first, I didn't know what to think about it
because I actually drove by and seeing it in his yard,
and I'm thinking, wow, you know that's kind of harsh.
Speaker 5 (01:39:50):
I'll give you a hint. It is Halloween decorations, But
what do you think it is?
Speaker 3 (01:39:54):
There's something in his yard that is grotesque and you
have some time people go wow, we've we've kind of
left the world of pumpkins, haven't When that's not just
a scary jackal Leonard, I think that's someone's actual head.
It's in Kentucky. Is it something to do like that?
It's just so bloody and gory. I can't believe this.
Speaker 5 (01:40:14):
Well, it's it's the guy the homeowners facing charges charges.
Speaker 3 (01:40:19):
He's got Trump an effigy. Oh boy, you're getting closed. Okay,
you're getting really close. Wow, Greg, do you want to participate?
I'm trying to think what, like I say, Evidently he's
you say, charges, yes, charge.
Speaker 16 (01:40:32):
At first, I didn't know what to think about it
because I actually didn't buy it in the see it
in his yard, and I'm thinking, wow, you know that's
that's kind of harsh.
Speaker 3 (01:40:44):
Hey, Kentucky man was arrested after putting out Halloween decorations
depicting bodies of local officials. He why and that was
one official talking like the official Eddie Barnes. I guess
it says here.
Speaker 5 (01:40:59):
According to the erect citation, Stephen Markham was arrested Saturday
in charged with intimidating a witness and legal process and
third degree terroristic threatening manner of whatever is. Yeah, you
had one hanging and was labeled district judge. Yeah, I
(01:41:19):
had to rope around his neck. You had some other
five bodies total were in trash bags with with.
Speaker 3 (01:41:25):
And they were they were labeling with local officials.
Speaker 5 (01:41:29):
Apparently this guy does not like local government, from judges
to local officials.
Speaker 3 (01:41:32):
I don't know if it's over garbage pick up what? Yeah,
he ain't happy.
Speaker 5 (01:41:36):
And I always think, Rick, what you say about being
their neighbor looking over and seeing something like that.
Speaker 3 (01:41:41):
And yeah, we actually talked about it. In strange Encounters.
Just last week. Well it's the episode that's out now,
the newest episode, and and that is that we were
discussing the thing Halloween, which I'm zero fan of, but
(01:42:01):
it is a nice time you figure out the people
you live around. They it's almost like they show their
hand at Halloween and you look around and go, oh wow,
I knew they were strange. And there's your proof. He
should have went with the big Toss skeleton. Yeah, it
would have been a lot was controversy. Just think about this.
If you put up a celebrity, it's bad, okay, And
(01:42:21):
if you do the president bad bad. You actually depict
the local city council and a district judge and yeah,
they're there, them being dead in your yard. That's a
that's a that's a that's a no. No.
Speaker 5 (01:42:35):
The homeowner has been in a dispute with the City
of Stanton over zoning or are failing to hook up water,
sewer or electrical services, blah blah blah. So he's a handle.
So he was scheduled for an arraignment and apparently he
put out his decorations, but it was local officials labeled.
Speaker 3 (01:42:53):
We have we have a famous thought that was a
little munchy. When I first saw I thought that was
a little much. We we have a house that has
been like we have all hated it, okay, and it's
not in my neighborhood, but it's near my neighborhood, so
we see it a lot in our travels. Yeah, there's
one on my way home. It is, and I'm talking
about these are the weirdest, strangest, wicked, evil, dark stuff.
(01:43:20):
And so it finally happened. But I start thinking about
if you're the real estate agent. They put a for
sale sign in the ar which we all celebrated. So
the house sold. But I wouldn't touch that house. I
wouldn't I wouldn't buy that house. I wouldn't live in
that house. I hope they just bulldoze it, I mean,
or something or put there's no way because one of
(01:43:41):
these things. You know, if I know there, you're supposed
to be open about everything. If you were just about
to buy that house and somebody in the neighborhood said,
by the way, I know you didn't look at it
during Halloween, and they would leave it up long after
Halloween and put it up way before you might take
a look at what lived there. Before you did. Yeah,
I would and go in that house. I wouldn't go
(01:44:01):
near it, the house that I pass on my way home.
Over the top blow ups, they love to blow us,
but I will give them this. They're just as over
the top at Christmas. Okay, that's howful. They blow the
yard up there right right. But look this way. They've
invested in a lot of decorations for covering two holidays
the way they do. But when you talking about it,
it looks like a wonderland. But when you do like this,
when you go down the dark road, you know, I'm
(01:44:23):
not just putting up your little hey, I'm somebody that
real service and you know, trying to have fun. When
they get in that dark world, Oh where, let's get
as gory as we can. Let's get this week, it's
just you start thinking. I knew they were strange, all right,
So what about this one?
Speaker 17 (01:44:43):
You'll never believe it? I said, what's going on? She says,
Claire's home. Somebody is scared that they're gonna be found out.
Speaker 3 (01:44:53):
Are you going to press chunk?
Speaker 17 (01:44:54):
Absolutely not. I'm just glad that Claire's home.
Speaker 3 (01:44:57):
Who's Claire? Okay? Somebody stole some than this named Claire. Yeah,
it can't be a human because he said he's not
going to press charge. Yeah. Yeah, so because if somebody
stills when your family members, even though even if they
returned them, you gotta press charge. Yeah, yeah, you do.
You can't just go let that. Hey, you do this again.
You can't let that go, even if they said it's
part of their Halloween directory, right, but you can't let
(01:45:18):
that go. Something named Claire, it's got to be an
animal of some kind of statue, statue. Oh, y'all are good,
y'all getting good at this.
Speaker 5 (01:45:25):
Thieves stole a fifty pound fiberglass dinosaur named Claire from
a Sinclair gas station in LA but returned it along
with a note saying I'm sorry for stealing Claire, Please
don't press charges. And that was the gas station owner
we just heard speaking. A worker showed up on Monday
(01:45:47):
and said, hey, wow, Claire's back and a note it
was stuck to Claire, saying I'm so sorry for stealing Claire,
please don't press charges. So the surveillance footage showed Claire
being stolen. It was a four foot tall prehistoric mascot
and it was stolen last week and it showed a
person using power tools to remove Claire, floating them onto
(01:46:07):
the bed of a pickup truck, and then pulling up
alongside the fuel pumps to drive away with Claire and
Claire had gone uh missing for a while. Claire, she's
four foot four foot prehistoric mascot, prehistoric dinosaur, dinosaur named
Claire dinosaur.
Speaker 3 (01:46:25):
You know, uh Dirannosaurus Bronnosaurus. Do we have an idea?
Just saying? She keeps saying dinosaur ricky because Greg I
could see us doing this back in the day.
Speaker 7 (01:46:35):
It's like it's like a you know, you know how
the Sinclair here, it is wrapped up here.
Speaker 6 (01:46:42):
I'll find a pictures, gotcha?
Speaker 3 (01:46:46):
Claire got a four foot Brannosaurus greg Us picking that
that thing up for. Didn't we get one of them? Easy?
Come on? Didn't we get easy? One time? Put it?
Well worse? Remember this one house we took a full
blown statue out and had in the car. Yeah, that's right,
the one. I was the one I was standing next
(01:47:06):
to doing my depiction of it. Yes, okay, there you go.
Speaker 6 (01:47:09):
Yeah, why would you do that?
Speaker 18 (01:47:10):
Now?
Speaker 3 (01:47:10):
I couldn't see you still, and I could see you
riding it though. Oh yeah, oh, no, we take I
bet that happens a lot. I bet that happens. So
you shouldn't do that. Brough Claire back. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:47:19):
Claire became Send Claire's mascot in the nineteen thirties. Wowow,
and someone took Claire but brought it right. I love
the handwritten note. Oh, but I like the please don't.
Speaker 3 (01:47:33):
He's fine. She hadn't been touched Greg. They didn't. They know,
they didn't feel guilty about it. They sobered up. That's
a great thing. And then felt and then like we
shouldn't have taken that. Hey, we'll get the time. It
seemed like a good we're gonna get in trouble. You
might remember that. You remember going in for for breakfast
and going, where's the statue come from?
Speaker 11 (01:47:52):
IM?
Speaker 3 (01:47:53):
I guess I think big Boy's eyes are moving over it.
You okay? He feels like he's been stole. Watch you. Yeah,
I was in Detroit. All right, we'll be back. We
just walk around like there's not a big boy. I know,
we forget. We don't even see him. He's in there
somewhere still to come around of Greg Burgess right again
to take you to the wheel. Also, we come back.
(01:48:16):
Bill Belichick this this season, it hasn't and his personality
having a bad season even stranger within him having a
good season.
Speaker 1 (01:48:28):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, doing what he was
born to do, The Wick Butcher's.
Speaker 3 (01:48:44):
Show, America. Thank you for being with us. Sorry about
the equipment breakdown on the YouTube live option today. You
still get today's archive, you still get the Bible Study archive.
Just all live options are dead right now. It may
go in and out, but it's equipment failure here at
(01:49:06):
the studio. We do have the new one to replace it,
but that's going to take some time and it can't
happen right during the show. So if we want to
have the archive, so we'll finish out. We'll get the
archive for you out later today. Bible Study archive as well.
The only thing affected live options. But the good news
for you is we have many live options for you.
Now that's the only video live option, but there's plenty
(01:49:29):
of audio live options, and let's face it, listening and
not having to look at us sometimes can even be better.
Mystore dot com mystore dot com. Over five hundred different
products in mystore dot com supporting the American entrepreneur Mike
Lindale says, let me provide a platform for fellow entrepreneurs
(01:49:51):
that can't seem to get their product to market. So
he provides the path, and now you and all of
us we can go there and decide for ourselves whether
we want these products. Now there are all American made,
and they have got, like I said, everything over five
hundred products. Now you want to take with you the
(01:50:12):
promo code big vox, because that's going to get you
some savings. So take that with you and go check
out these American entrepreneurs and all their great products at
mystore dot com or Rick Burgess Show dot com under
the sponsor's button. So Bill Belichick, mm hmm, it's oh, Bill,
(01:50:33):
it's it's worse than I think we any of us
could even imagine. And all of you we were talking
about it in the break. Things look completely different when
you're losing and losing big than they do if you're
winning and winning big. Suddenly your cutoff sweatshirt is annoying. Yeah,
it's need to address a little bit. It's it's not
(01:50:55):
suddenly your dry personality is now on our nerves. Suddenly
your little girlfriend hanging around it's all annoying us now,
right right, right, so as you're winning, you don't know
if you're winning. Hey, look at him. I love how
he just wears him sweats and hoodies with the sleeves
cut out. I love his just dry sense of humor,
(01:51:16):
tearing that sugar up on the sideline. Yeah, look at him.
Look at him kissing his granddaughter. I'm so oh my gosh,
what is that? Yeah? So, but it's gone so bad.
Fans are leaving the games and you're you said they've
Hulu is saying, I'm sorry, yes, So they had the
docuseriies plan Bill Belichick's first year to coach University of
(01:51:37):
North Carolina. It was going to hit this fall. But
since the losing season is the way it is, thousands
of fans, to your point, walked out of last game,
the last game before halftime. Hulu people dot com is
reporting is dumping the series. They're scrapped O wow.
Speaker 5 (01:51:53):
And they they say that it will not happen, And
it's really bizarre. H Just to be honest with you,
I mean, because he it is what it is.
Speaker 3 (01:52:02):
He is.
Speaker 5 (01:52:03):
I mean, he's gonna go down as one of the
best coaches to ever coach NFL.
Speaker 3 (01:52:06):
Sure he is.
Speaker 5 (01:52:07):
Now we can say, had time break whatever he is
he's going to. But you know he was on college
game day when when Sabing custed at him and said
he was full of something. And he was walking the field,
you know how they'll do sometimes in pre game, which
is your favorite part of the game, Greg, because everybody's happy, you.
Speaker 3 (01:52:25):
Know, and there's everybody at that point and he's walking around.
Speaker 5 (01:52:29):
Uh and Pat mcfeel and said, I can't believe Bill Belichick.
It took time to do this because there were some
technical difficulties and everything, and he came out and just
announced we don't have the players, you know, which is
kind of on him because he went out to the
portal and got holy roster.
Speaker 3 (01:52:44):
You know, that makes your team feel great if it's true.
You don't say yeah because and because I'm thinking, you know,
so I'm in the locker room, you're out there on
the field, You're getting paid a lot of money, you're
in charge, and you take the heat.
Speaker 5 (01:52:55):
He says it's going to take a couple of years
to build a program back and and kind of it
wasn't is that mac Brown that was there before him.
Speaker 3 (01:53:02):
Yeah, it kind of dogged them and said, hey.
Speaker 5 (01:53:04):
You know the recruiting's been down the last couple of
years here, and it's a total rebuild and it's gonna
take us a couple of years. And so it's not
looking good well, and so they canceled the series.
Speaker 3 (01:53:15):
It keeps getting worse. So yeah, because they're like, who
wants to see this now? It's not yeah, successful, there's
no story here. It's just it's a train wreck. Now.
I would like to see a documentary of Bill Belichick, Yeah, yeah,
I would. But the problem I have with these excuses
he's making. First of all, I don't like to hear
people make excuses, no, even if they're true, and we
are our father, father's son. The other is, I look
(01:53:39):
at the guy at Misissippi State. Yeah, I mean he
came in and everybody left. Yeah, his entire offense and
his entire starting defense all left. Yep, he he he
struggled last year, and the very next year he has
Mississippi State competitive and and I mean not in day
(01:54:00):
from last year. Even in their losses, they've looked good. Okay,
So if if Belichick doesn't do that next year, then
you're like, okay, are you gonna keep making these excuses?
So to me, this buys him one season. But I've
just seen Farida State. I've just seen too many people,
even though I know they've lost a couple now, but
they don't look at they're better than that.
Speaker 5 (01:54:20):
Deon Sanders in Colorado, I know he had your door
in Travis Hunter and some other skilled guys, but don't
you don't you remember the story?
Speaker 3 (01:54:28):
Didn't he keep two roster guys from the first time
he was at Colorado? He got rid of everybody, everybody
and did pretty good that year. And that's the thing
with the portal now and then I on all that
you can build a team in a hurry. Great question
off text nation, what was the biggest failure Spurrier in
the pros? Are a Belichick in college? Well? This one here,
(01:54:52):
I mean I gotta say Belichick. Yeah, you're gonna have
to say this year because they're not even competitive. No, no,
I mean they're not even competitive. I remember, I know spurried,
I can't remember, but I don't remember the well Spurs
teams were. You know, Saban didn't do great in the Pros,
but their teams were competitive, weren't they. Yeah, they weren't.
Bellichick's team is I know it's two different leagues. But
I mean now it's pretty much pro football in North
(01:55:14):
Carolina to which is probably when they thought they were
making a good decision. He's going to get a chance,
but he because his athletic director is supporting him. He's
handling it right, I mean, the president's handling right. I know.
But what I'm saying is when you go out and
grab an older guy that's been crazy successful and he
(01:55:35):
could be in retirement, he didn't have financial woes that
we know of, I don't think so time with his
girlfriend anyway, saying he keeps dating these young girls, he's
gonna have financial woes. He looks worn out. Yeah, he
does look tired. He can't he can't keep the space now.
But anyway, stress it will and at home and at
at work, right, uh but and and at home really
(01:55:57):
ages you quicker. But but but anyway, you just take
the chance that he says, why am I doing this? Yeah,
at some point he't got the thing' doing No. I
had to demand an answer on something like that. The
other day, I was talking to somebody about something that
wasn't going great, and the person is extremely wealthy, and
(01:56:18):
I said, I have to know why they're continuing this,
and they did have some answers, so I thought, oh, okay,
But but I mean, if I'm Bill Belichick, I don't
have to put up with this, everybody making fun of
me not doing well in college and everybody getting them
walking out and all this. I could just say I'm
headed to wherever and I'm done, and I've got all
the Super Bowl trophies, i got all the money I made,
(01:56:40):
So you run that risk. I mean, he's not like
a young guy trying to make his way. No, I know,
it seems a younger guy that's going to leave it
any moment. It's a family affair because I know his
boys are with him. But you know he's definitely not
going to walk away like this. He's going to have
to give it a couple of more years, don't you think,
because he can't anyway, he may turn it around. We're
just saying right now it's not starting. And he's come
(01:57:01):
out and said, we don't have the players. So here's
the locker room putting your pads on you. Hey, appreciate
you if you're one of the players he's claiming, is
not we don't have player that hurt that hurts, well,
be careful with the Mac Brown comparison to because Mac
Brown had North North Carolina playing pretty good football. Yeah,
Jean Cheesey did too.
Speaker 1 (01:57:20):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. You better listen up.
Speaker 3 (01:57:37):

like always today Job chapter thirty four, Speedy, I know
that you have kind of been alerting us, lady lately
of things that we may not be aware of. A
lot of it's music. Yeah, you've really become quite the
music expert. And also you've really been studying different celebrations
(01:59:19):
that are going on on certain days. Yeah. Well, yeah,
I just wanted to know if y'all ever had a
fluffer nutter? Y'all ever had one of those? For a second,
I had to think, are you saying it right? Fluffer nutter?
Fluffer nuder? Yeah, y'all ever had a fluff and nutter?
I'm proudly say I haven't. I haven't, but almost certain
that Bill Clinton has. Yes, Rick, absolutely, I'm here all week.
(01:59:42):
Do you know? I work all the way through Friday?
Today is national fluffer, not fluffer a nutter? Have you
ever had a fluffer nutter? You know what fluffer nutter is?
Speaker 17 (01:59:50):
No?
Speaker 3 (01:59:50):
I do not. I don't like I don't like the
way it sounds. It's a peanut butter and marshmallow cream sandwich. Okay,
I've never heard of that, and marshmallow cream sandwich usually
by that. Never heard of it. That's a fluff a nutter,
never heard of it? Looks pretty good. Fluffer another fast?
Three times, I'm going to I haven't said it one time.
(02:00:12):
I don't think I'm ever gonna say it. I'm gonna
be honest. That's probably not a bad sandwich.
Speaker 6 (02:00:16):
Yeah, it's that marshmallow spread.
Speaker 3 (02:00:18):
Yeah, that you get? Are you you telling me where
you and I grew up greg around? We couldn't call
it around the people we grew up. No, you would
announce to our buddies, think I'll go have a fluff
or nothing? No, no, no, no, yest? Would you? Would
you they'd have one? Would you want to not tell them?
Speaker 5 (02:00:36):
Would you we use the first part of the last
part of the name because you say I'm gonna go
get a flutter?
Speaker 3 (02:00:41):
Is it a flutter or fluffer? Fluffer? Yeah, fluffer fluffer.
You can't say that either, Okay, research that time and
you're not gonna He's in an area he don't realize
he's in. I know you just need to just yeah, Lando,
would you call like we short you call it fluff.
(02:01:02):
You want code the fluffer you will, Please don't. I'm
just saying say I wanted you to say. I'm not
going to say it. I'm not a nutter if you yeah,
that's fair. Good. What are we in salesame stree fluff
or fluffer fluffer, flufferler? Do something you can't fluffer nudder.
(02:01:22):
It's a sandwich, y'all. It's a sandwich. This is a sandwich.
It's a it's a peanut butter and marshmallow cream. Sound. Well,
here's what I would say, and I want a peanut
butter marshmallow sandwich. There you got it. But what's that?
I still have yet to say it on the show.
Not gonna say that.
Speaker 7 (02:01:39):
You're right, Rick, Yeah, we call a peanut butter and
jelly sandwich a peanut butter jelly sandwich.
Speaker 6 (02:01:43):
I think we could call this a peanut butter and marshmallows.
Speaker 3 (02:01:46):
Know it's a fluffer point. I've never heard of it,
never had one. I'm sure Elvis did. So speedy you
be like, I tell you what I'm craving. I need
a fluffor yeah, I tell you what that Today it
started get hurt Northeast in New England, Massachusetts and stuff
like that. OK. Yeah, just sounds like some Yankees would
(02:02:09):
do listen to. I wish you would have been here.
Earlier today off the air, when Speedy walked up to
Greg and asked him what he thought it was, it was,
I didn't, that's rick, That's what I thought it was.
I know you didn't. I know you did. I said,
I hope you're not going on air with that, right,
(02:02:30):
And you're like, and tell me this and the topic today. Yeah,
I'll tell you what I think. What's the first thing
you think of when you hear that? Excuse me? Like,
let me tell you. I'm not going you don't want
me to. I'm not gonna don't. I'm not saying he
is dying. I literally am teaching the Bible study to day.
I ain't saying it. Great, stop it that I want
(02:02:54):
to break. No, No, we won't do that, all right.
I know you're not big on pinn and jelly sandwiches,
are you not? Really? I eat just peanut butter really,
If I do? If I don't, yeah, I don't to me.
To me, the peanut butter sandwich by itself falls a
little short. I don't know. I just like I always have.
The jelly makes me enjoy the peanut butter even Moore.
But something about the jell it. Now, my kid, my
(02:03:16):
grandkids love the uncrustables, have the peanut butter and throw
them out and thaw them out, and yeah, I can never.
I can never. I don't have the patience for the
thawing out. I always bite into it too quick. Yeah,
but they love them, love them the to me. Now,
if I have toast for some reason, it's okay just
(02:03:36):
to put peanut butter on it. Oh yeah, But if
I do a sandwich, it has to be peanut butter
and jellous toasted peanut butter and jellous. Sam, how do
you even swallow on a peanut butter only.
Speaker 6 (02:03:46):
Sand I know, it's so smacky like a dog.
Speaker 3 (02:03:49):
Yeah, you get your glasses now, you guys, please don't
google this thing. That Speedy says. Look, I'm on Wikipedia
right now, he says. Look, look fluffing utter, look the fluffing.
Understand what people are googling it? Though it's a sandwich, right,
it's a.
Speaker 7 (02:04:05):
Sound I'm reading here that back in the dates, back
like you said, the Massachusetts back in nineteen eighteen. It
was known back then, it was known as the Liberty sandwich.
Let's call it the Liberty sandwich.
Speaker 3 (02:04:17):
I'm with you on that, the Liberty sin I like it. Well,
how do they get that out of it? Right? Makes
more sense? Right? Right?
Speaker 5 (02:04:27):
So you got different You've got different, very variations of
the sandwich, including the substitution.
Speaker 3 (02:04:33):
Of white bread. They got, uh, do you got with you?
Speaker 5 (02:04:38):
Just a different sweet and salty ingredients, savory ingredients?
Speaker 3 (02:04:43):
Great? The white bread on it kind of grosses mad.
I'll give you that. You don't like white bread and toast?
Do you like white bread at all? You don't like one? Now,
I'm not a huge fan of it. Only with ribs. Yeah,
I don't even know. I don't even don't taste it
with that little square white bread. I just don't like it, Okay, right,
I'm just I'm begging people to stop googling this. If
(02:05:03):
you google it, this is what comes up, brick because
it's a sandwich. Okay, don't cut it. Don't cut the
word in half and google that. Please. No, the first
we shorten everything, people are saying, the first one. You
don't want to do that. Can you put the uncrustable
in a toaster doesn't get that middle part down.
Speaker 6 (02:05:19):
You can't do that. You don't want jelly peanut butter
running down. That's going to cause price.
Speaker 3 (02:05:23):
Stay in there. No, are they sealed?
Speaker 6 (02:05:26):
Are they sealed much?
Speaker 8 (02:05:27):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (02:05:27):
Yeah? Okay? What about a toaster oven would work? Yeah? Yeah?
What about that thing there for our I mean, have
you tried the one with the honey in it? But
there's one with the new Tale in it. I don't,
I don't. I don't like this. Tell the grand kids
it's for little kids. I got them little hands holding.
(02:05:49):
I've had adults try to sell me on the crustable,
uncrustable whatever it's called. Because I raise my hand. I
actually think the crust is the best part. Peanut peanut
butter and jelly had to hot pocket and yeah with
no crust around, and you're taking my crust, which to
me is the best part of the brand.
Speaker 6 (02:06:06):
Also, Nantella is a fake healthy food.
Speaker 7 (02:06:09):
It's one of those foods every Yeah, it's good, it's
it's it's r FK the third thank you.
Speaker 6 (02:06:14):
Yes, I'm good telling you the truth.
Speaker 3 (02:06:17):
I'm ounting to tell them. Have you ever been around
a man that peels the crust off? Have not because
I would not sit by.
Speaker 5 (02:06:25):
But no, Terry said I went too far with my
boys when they were young, and I said, a man,
don't do that.
Speaker 3 (02:06:31):
They started to pull out.
Speaker 6 (02:06:32):
Yeah, you know what I would do. I would call
him a fluffer nutter.
Speaker 3 (02:06:34):
And what I would it is you act like a fluffing.
There it is who's ready to go to battle with
Greg Burgess and ask that question? Is Greg right again?
Your chance to win? And go to the wheel when
we come back.
Speaker 1 (02:06:51):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 3 (02:06:59):
I'm talking to.
Speaker 1 (02:07:05):
Count the whole of Greg Purchase, America's Life Coach, the
Greg Purchase Show.
Speaker 3 (02:07:14):
Alrighty, we are back and thank you for being with
us today.
Speaker 6 (02:07:19):
It's a little.
Speaker 3 (02:07:19):
Contest involving America's life. Coach. Greg Burch just called right again.
You're right again? Right again? Right again?
Speaker 6 (02:07:29):
Issue right again?
Speaker 3 (02:07:32):
Rarely ever wrong right again?
Speaker 14 (02:07:35):
With us?
Speaker 11 (02:07:35):
Not You're never wrong.
Speaker 3 (02:07:37):
I just don't remember when there you go, you right again?
You right again?
Speaker 8 (02:07:44):
All right?
Speaker 3 (02:07:44):
So can you go head to head with Gregg and
determine whether he is right again? Is he pretending to
be wrong? Is he pretending to be right? It's a
lot to work out. You don't know, you don't know.
I try. I'm gonna try to trick you. Let's go
to Tennessee. Lisa standing by Lisa, Hello, Hi, all right,
(02:08:06):
are you ready to play right again?
Speaker 9 (02:08:07):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (02:08:08):
Yeah? Our category today and speedy of course could be
a lifeline. Oh it's music. Yeah, I'm here speedy. You know,
he's really become again, really savvy. By the way, Lisa,
thank you for having such a good phone too. The
phone sounds great.
Speaker 2 (02:08:23):
You're welcome.
Speaker 3 (02:08:23):
All right, here we go. Here's the first one. Van
Halen's also. I like this nineteen.
Speaker 6 (02:08:30):
Eighty four hit I'll Wait.
Speaker 3 (02:08:33):
Remember it had the album uh huh was co written
by the band. All the band shared, but they also
had help from a very famous singer songwriter. This was
just on the song I'll Wait, Greg, who was that.
I'm gonna be honest that I'm not sure. And now
(02:08:55):
the song had a lot of keyboard. Basically, it was
all keyboard pretty much besides jump. He was a lot
like it. So I'm gonna go piano player, I say,
Elton John, Elton John, is Greg right again, Lisa, I
don't think so. You say he is wrong, and you
(02:09:15):
know what, you are correct? He is not right about that.
Speaker 6 (02:09:21):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (02:09:23):
Yeah, so uh how about this? You know who the
singer songwriter was? Adler, Lisa, Michael McDonald, Michael McDonald, Oh wait,
so here we go. It was Michael Jackson. Uh we
have to hurry google. Wait that's what they're doing. Yeah,
you can't google. And you didn't google that, did you? Lisa?
(02:09:45):
Oh heck now, okay, so see that you all got
a trust her. Uh here here's one who produced Van
Halen's first album, fifty one fifty, the first album to
feature Sammy Hagar Greg who produced it. Seems like I
watched ay behind the music, and I'm going to say,
(02:10:06):
Mick Jones of the vand Foreigner, is he right again?
May be? I think I'm right, Lisa.
Speaker 2 (02:10:12):
I think he's he is right?
Speaker 3 (02:10:14):
Yeah, Like, oh yeah, that's to make Jones And you
get this one right. He was the only original member
of Foreigner's still active, even though he doesn't perform with
him at all time. Pronounce right. If you get this
one right, you are going to the wheel who named this?
What is the first van Halen song? The first to
(02:10:37):
feature Eddie van Halen playing keyboards? Like you would say,
jump is where you would want to go? But and correct, man,
if I'm correct, where the cradle will rock? At first
I thought it was a guitar with the facts in
it because the way it sounds. But I think it's
(02:10:57):
actually a keyboard, So I'm going with that. Greg says
the cradle will rock, not jump. He'd played keyboards before?
Is he right again? Lisa?
Speaker 10 (02:11:05):
Right?
Speaker 3 (02:11:06):
That is correct? So did you know that about that? Lisa?
Really well done on your part. So now you go
to the wheel. Who would you like to spend the
wheel for you? Greg, Speedy, Adler or me? We go
to the wheel. Let's see if you can win some
money for Lisa and tennessee. Lisa say to Greg, it's
(02:11:32):
will to me. Give it Greg, Let's see where it goes.
Let's see if Lisa can win money. And right again,
and here comes that wheel coming on around, coming on around.
Let's see it lands, It lands on Adler, which means
(02:11:58):
you have spun Henry the horse. And here he comes Henry?
What's going out? Who goes you doing? Buddy?
Speaker 9 (02:12:10):
So you may have seen that mom that was protesting
boys being in girls' bathrooms recently? Yeah, and a city
council meeting.
Speaker 6 (02:12:21):
Did you see her form of protests.
Speaker 3 (02:12:23):
I did, Yeah, she did.
Speaker 9 (02:12:25):
She got naked, and uh, since you guys aren't on YouTube,
I'm going to protest that as well.
Speaker 3 (02:12:31):
Now who we Gord said, why get your short or something?
Speaker 6 (02:12:46):
I think I saw a flood another I'm not.
Speaker 3 (02:12:50):
Okay, I'm not touching short. Oh my goodness, your Shenry, Henry. Wow?
He made protest? Yes, how wow.
Speaker 6 (02:13:01):
I'm so glad we're not on YouTube today.
Speaker 3 (02:13:03):
Thank you, Lisa. Sorry, the wheel did not produce anything. Seth,
how are you good? Good? You ready to play? Right again?
Speaker 4 (02:13:11):
Right?
Speaker 3 (02:13:12):
All right? Here we go. The black and yellow Bumblebee
guitar on the back cover of Van Halen iiO is
buried with the body of this heavy metal guitarist that
would be Adler knows this dimebag Daryl from Pantira is
greg right again, Seth, He's right, Yes he is. I
(02:13:37):
saw that on him, that and a bunch of whiskey
bottles and stuff. Okay, it was I saw it on
the music. Are you ready for this one? This one?
This is a little rough right here? Who plays guitar
long before they were ever known? Who plays guitar on
David Bowie's nineteen eighty three album Let's Dance, all right,
(02:13:59):
because I know it's gonna be a guitarist that we
know now, and I remember I'm gonna I know I'm
right on this. By the way, it's gonna be Stevie
ray Vaughan Coleus. When I heard that, i'd heard Texas Flood.
He'd come out with that record, and I thought, that
is such a different style from David Bowie. It didn't fits,
and some of that stayed with me. Does Greg write again?
(02:14:19):
He's right? Is? Yeah? He is Stevie ray Vaughan. Did
y'all know that played on Let's Dance? I know that.
I remember thinking that is so far from what he does.
All right? Here it is. If you get this right,
we go to the wheel. We may have to come
back and let you do the wheel, but see if
you can get this right before we go to break. Okay,
are you ready? Who wrote and first recorded Rick Springfield's
(02:14:40):
nineteen eighty one top ten hit I've done every thing
for you? Who first recorded it and wrote it? That's easy,
Sammy Hagar? Is he right again? Seth? He's right? Yes,
he is? Why done? Every Are you okay? So wrote
(02:15:04):
a lot of songs, he has written written a lot
of songs, okay for a bonus question, and you're going
to go to the wheels. I don't worry about that
bonus question. Who wrote the nineteen sixty nine Elvis hit
in the Ghetto, Hoyd Axton? Is Greg right again, Seth?
He's right, No, he isn't. You wouldn't You would have
got you would have gotten that there was a trick.
(02:15:25):
I acted like I need it was actually you know
that one adler No, no, angry little boy and with
a run in those playing in the streets with the
cool windblows in the gill. Thought that was like something
from way back actually written by mac Davis MC. I
was trying to know him that he was trying to
tell me, Well, the good news for you, Seth, you
already got three in a row. So you get the wheel,
(02:15:47):
be thinking about who you want to spend it, and
we'll come back and let you have a spin. Okay,
all right, let's put you on hope. We'll come back
and we'll let Seth decide who he wants to spind
it to winners today as far as going head to
head with Greg, and they just stuck with him most
of the way, so we'll stay back, stay with you
right after this. And this is the Rick.
Speaker 1 (02:16:11):
Burge, the man who could fix the entire commercial airline
industry if they would only give him a shot.
Speaker 3 (02:16:27):
Weak bridges. We're back. We have played Greg Burgess right again.
We had two winners, and we've had one that spun
Henry the horse, and that led to a very uncomfortable
moment in here because the live YouTube option is down today.
We've had a piece of equipment failed and it is
(02:16:48):
getting replaced, but we'll try to get that back as
soon as possible. But it's almost like Henry took that
took liberty with that. I don't know how that'll affect
the archive today, but maybe Adler can edit that. But
uh so, Seth, you also won, buddy, congratulations, all right,
thank you. So who do you want to spend the
wheel for you? Adler? Greg Speedy or me. Let's go Speedy,
(02:17:11):
Speedy spending All right, let's go Speedy. Speedy's going to
the wheel to see if he can spin you some
spind you Somel say that again, Trusville, Trustville, Trustville. All right,
So say to Speedy it's will to me and let
him give it a rip. It's will to me. Give
(02:17:32):
it a rip, give it a touch, tell a little oh,
he goes with a little English, a little English, to
see took a little something off. Let's see what happens here,
Seth see if speedy, Oh guys, oh man.
Speaker 13 (02:17:48):
Oh boy, between a thousand and thought, I'm so sorry,
seth it landed on helium.
Speaker 3 (02:17:58):
Boy, how the swamp on? Not of them put him on,
spooled the poole, spung the wall.
Speaker 18 (02:18:07):
That was wrong. Bottle?
Speaker 6 (02:18:10):
What's a bottle?
Speaker 7 (02:18:11):
Hell on?
Speaker 18 (02:18:11):
Boy?
Speaker 6 (02:18:11):
Back in my husband.
Speaker 3 (02:18:18):
Oh that's so loud. There it is, went said, I'm
so sorry. Said, I'm sorry, buddy. I can't have nothing,
have anything all going? Well? Do you know what? They got?
A shot at the wheel the will to day was
mean what he was stingy? I got hung up between
two good things. Ingy stingy. Nearly guess I mean it
(02:18:40):
nearly clicked over so one thing, one thing. We know
the reason why Greg is so on top of these
things and is always rights because he's sleeping on a
customized mattress. Here he and Leeley me andly snuggling down
in our Helix mattress so helix sleep dot Com schlagh,
this big vox. It's fall. It's a great time of year,
(02:19:04):

your bed.
Speaker 11 (02:19:10):
Good.
Speaker 3 (02:19:10):
What about if you have a bed that's been customized
for you, don't you think you would sleep better?
Speaker 11 (02:19:16):

But so we mentioned a little while ago the different
updates today. Is this Mark Sanchez thing getting stranger stranger deal?
I mean, it's just weird. It is apparently Sanchez. Now
(02:20:26):
are we getting indication? Now I've seen the security footage
where he's kind of stumbling around. Are we getting is
the image now beginning to clear up that Mark Sanchez
this was a one off. He's a binge drinker, gets out,
gets a little rowdy from time to time. It got
away from him. Are we starting to hear from family
(02:20:49):
and friends that Sanchez may have a problem? I mean,
what's looking the story? So he just got a confrontation
with somebody, just think over a parking spot or something.
Speaker 5 (02:21:03):
But he's facing Sanchez is felony battery charges along with
several misdemeanor charges. And it looks like, according to this
news source, that the sixty nine year old truck driver
that was seriously injured from Mark Sanchez is suing Sanchez.
Speaker 3 (02:21:21):
And his his employer Fox in an Indiana state court.
They have filed a lawsuit. They did that yesterday seeking
an unspecified amount in actual and punitive damages, as well
as attorney fees. It accused Sanchez of instigating a fight
(02:21:43):
with Perry Toll t o l E Saturday night outside
of Downtown Hotel in Indianapolis. It says, the it's a
permanent disfigurement is what is called severe too, loss of
function and other injuries, emotional stress, and so he was.
(02:22:04):
He also stabbed Sanchez several times in the fight, according
to the police. So he says here.
Speaker 5 (02:22:12):
A picture of him told the truck driver circulating online
shows him in a neck brace on a in a
hospital bed there, covered in blood with deep slash on
the side of his face. Fox Sports has declined to
comment on the lawsuit, it says. Attorneys representing Sanchez uh
(02:22:33):
in his criminal case also declined comment.
Speaker 3 (02:22:36):
So what about his injuries, Sanchez? I mean, are they
obviously threat The guy stabbed him, And now, like I said,
when the story begins, has now unfolded, it was self defense.
Sanchez jumped him and was beating him up really bad. Yeah,
he looks terrible and he struck him.
Speaker 5 (02:22:53):
Yeah, it says here they're we're literally talking about people
fighting over a parking space.
Speaker 3 (02:22:59):
That's that's where we're mad. That's that. That's what the
stroke says. We got knives and blamed, and so Sanchez
got his beard and made him eat it. So's an
angry drunk.
Speaker 5 (02:23:08):
So the truck driver Told was backing his truck into
a hotel's loading dot. Uh, and the lawsuit UH says,
and Sanchez entered the truck without permission, then physically blocked
and shoved the driver.
Speaker 3 (02:23:26):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (02:23:27):
And then the guy that then hit Sanchez with some
pepper spray. And then when Sanchez kind of worked through
the pepper spray, Told pulled out a knife to defend himself.
And then that's how everybody was getting stabbed.
Speaker 3 (02:23:40):
So for some reason, Sanchez didn't like him parking at
the loading dot.
Speaker 5 (02:23:43):
Apparently not Apparently there was some type of deal out.
You've heard uber driver, you've heard parking there. I don't know,
but Sanchez, you asked. He was stabbed in the upper
right Torso according to police, there you go.
Speaker 3 (02:23:56):
But how about it, you know? And now there, I mean,
he looks like he's the one in trouble. Yeah, the
picture of that guy, he looked rough. So he went
out and was cranking up or something and got in
that dark water and got mean, he says.
Speaker 5 (02:24:08):
Here that Sanchez was getting got loaded and it was
a little drunk. According to this story, beforehand at a
Fox employer, Uh, as a Fox employee at a Fox event,
that's what saying.
Speaker 3 (02:24:20):
So, well, i'll see how that plays out, but that's
the latest. Well, when you when you watch the security camera,
you see he's stumbling around going to the barking deck
or wherever he was going.
Speaker 7 (02:24:29):
Even after being stabbed, you know, because you know, you know,
as adrenaline was through the roof after stabbing that guy
and then also getting stabbed.
Speaker 6 (02:24:36):
But he's still stumbling. That tells you a lot, a lot.
Speaker 3 (02:24:38):
Of lots of stab Is that that stumbling footage is
that after the event or that's him after he got stabbed?
Him after he oh I thought he was stumbling towards
the fight. Yeah he was.
Speaker 7 (02:24:48):
After he got stabbed. He's like touching his chest stomach there.
Here you go.
Speaker 6 (02:24:53):
Here it is, He's like, oh man, I just got
and I just stabbed. He's all bloody yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:25:00):
Oh wow.
Speaker 5 (02:25:00):
And and according to this story, they're saying, if it
was true that Sanchez was as a FO was at
a Fox work event or whatever, and other colleagues knew
he had been drinking and he left, and that's when
they're here.
Speaker 3 (02:25:12):
Here comes in lost, but we don't know. That's just
what this is saying. So also speaking of getting angry,
Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon, Now you remember he had
the running back that you know, I'm al a, I
can't is it. I don't know to say his last name,
but anyway, you Remembory fumbled going in then zone. You
know he let loose the ball for you. I don't
(02:25:34):
know why these people keep doing this. How hard is
it to run the en zone with the ball? Why
would you want to drop it in? Yeah, and you
know this is starting to happen more often. This was
usually be something that would have been unheard of, right,
but it happens. And of course coach Gannon got furious,
rightfully so and and hey he's been He got so
mad and so upset with the player that they find
(02:25:56):
him one hundred thousand dollars for calling it an alteration.
What did he do with the player? I mean he
went on the sideline.
Speaker 6 (02:26:03):
He hits he hits him in a stomach.
Speaker 3 (02:26:05):
Yeah, he was so mad. What he pulled this? He
went a little what he here it is your hair.
Speaker 7 (02:26:14):
Boom, Yeah, he just hits him in the stone goodness,
I mean bo or chest.
Speaker 3 (02:26:22):
Yeah. He shouldn't have done it. Shouldn't have done it deliberate.
I don't know. I don't know if it's one hundred
thousand dollars worth of those. Now, he shouldn't have done it,
shouldn't have done it. But got mad. Don't need to
physic up a hands on anybody. No grown men. Yeah
we're grown man. I got you. So, Uh, we'll be back.
Truck drivers are saying encountering drunks by the way at
(02:26:44):
the time of night, they have to load and load out.
Not surprised. Oh, we come back. Onscreen phone calls the
second round today. We'll chat with you America right after this.
Speaker 1 (02:26:56):

and we get right to it and we screen on

rest of you, guys. From that song I've Done Everything
for You by Sammy Hagar. I saw an interview where
they asked him and said, how come you couldn't make
that a hit? He said, have you seen Rick Springfield?
Speaker 15 (02:28:17):
Does?
Speaker 3 (02:28:17):
How right? Exactly? Greg says he likes Rick Springfield. I
like some of his music. I do. Okay, so I'm
in concert one time. Okay, you'll just say that right
with that? Yeah Heart pretty good? That make you It's.
Speaker 6 (02:28:34):
Pretty good, keen heart drive.
Speaker 3 (02:28:36):
That's cool. Okay, Yeah, all right, I'm miss telling you
wasn't bad. No, I'm saying the music. Okay, I got

(02:28:56):
enjoy watching the crowd. You don't like him, but you
know I do too. I don't have Okay, they're gonna
get you.
Speaker 5 (02:29:03):
You know, I've never listened to a George Straight song
and we have no desire. Right, But you don't dislike him.
You just don't give him anything.
Speaker 3 (02:29:09):
I don't. Greg didn't like it. No, I don't dislike him.
I came out of the gate wrong said I hated him.
I didn't mean that. That's just not a fan of
his music. I've never seen you walk one of those back.
How did you like that? Rick Borders Show on screen
phone calls.
Speaker 15 (02:29:24):
Go ahead, It's time and boy, tell.
Speaker 3 (02:29:30):

Speaker 3 (02:29:38):

Speaker 12 (02:29:57):
Hey, I just wanted to call and tell you guys.
Speaker 11 (02:30:00):
Rick.
Speaker 12 (02:30:00):
This was such a subtle comment on the video that
you guys were making about a week ago with the
heavier set ladies that were dancing on the football field. Correct,
you just said so much thigh and when you said that,
I literally about peeding my pants laid me and I
(02:30:21):
just didn't want to call it til you guys that.
Speaker 3 (02:30:25):
Correct? That was?
Speaker 14 (02:30:25):
That was?
Speaker 3 (02:30:26):
That was straight from the mind, right out the mouth. Yeah,
I stopped it was it was an exceptional amount.
Speaker 6 (02:30:37):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (02:30:39):
Rick Burgers Show, unstream phone calls, go ahead. Tom's having
a hard time. I don't know, I can't do all right,
so let's continue to open them up. But yeah, that
was a I think sometimes we're getting the almost to
the point of, you know, when the lines get overwhelmed
(02:31:00):
and they reset. But we'll go Rick Burgers Show, unscreen
phone calls, go ahead.
Speaker 11 (02:31:05):
Good morning guybody, hey man. May be all touched on
this and I missed it, but you guys aren't going
to go into a deep dive on BIS President Kam
Alabama Harris being in studio yesterday.
Speaker 3 (02:31:20):
Excuse me with Angie, Okay, I did, yeah, I missed that.
I'm so sorry, so that that was going on. Okay,
I was seeing some text. Now, did you I didn't
see that, so okay, good morning Ange. They were saying,

Speaker 2 (02:31:52):

Speaker 11 (02:31:55):
He listened to the show.
Speaker 3 (02:31:57):

Speaker 11 (02:32:05):

Speaker 14 (02:32:06):
Y'all doing a good job.
Speaker 3 (02:32:07):
Thank you man. Looking forward to seeing you too. That
would be great. Rick Burgess Show, unscreen phone calls, go ahead.
Speaker 10 (02:32:13):
I just want to invalidate something else said earlier.
Speaker 2 (02:32:16):
I've never been riding dirt roads and turned on jelly
roll and listened to it, so I don't consider that
coaching music.
Speaker 3 (02:32:21):
I mean, where else would you play him?
Speaker 10 (02:32:23):
Now?
Speaker 3 (02:32:23):
Though you don't think about it, he didn't really have
enough anywhere else to go, So well.
Speaker 2 (02:32:27):
I'm going through my own mid life, midlife crisis. I
don't need to listen to somebody else.
Speaker 11 (02:32:30):
Thinking about one.
Speaker 3 (02:32:34):
Got me cruising down the dirt road, me swerving like
I'm marks and chairs all right too soon, rigga the
wounds anything you are going down dirt road? Who do
you put on? Well, I will tell you it sounds
like very smoke. Go back to that sounds like I'm
piling Grace. I love him right now. If you talk
(02:32:55):
about modern they could beat up the regular modern time
for me right now, right now, modern time. Yeah. I
always start with No One Like Me by Red stray Las.
That's my first song, Oh want to Marry? Yeah, right,
whatever their name is, I love it. I think that's
one of the best songs I've heard in a long time. Okay, so,
(02:33:17):
but then, but then, if I cannot listen to Running
Down a Dream by Tom Petty on a dirt road
only an interstate So you asked, you said dirt road.
So when I go to Tom Petty, then I actually
go to probably open up with either Southern accent on
the dirt road from Tom Petty, Here comes my girl.
(02:33:39):
It's it's gonna be there, Okay, Yeah, And I am
gonna say place in BlackBerry smoke, no question. I'm gonna
start with uh well, my fill from Grace was a
sight to see. I'm gonna start there. I'm sure, y'all
have playlists, right, No, I just go find what I want.
Speaker 6 (02:33:56):
We've talked about this.
Speaker 3 (02:33:57):
They don't know about playlist like like a classic classic
rock playlist. And then you said shuffle.
Speaker 6 (02:34:03):
I do that every day? Yeah, like a normal person.
Speaker 3 (02:34:04):
Yes, yeah, okay, I do. So you never desired to
be normal? Yeah? I never desired to be normal pretty much.
Speaker 5 (02:34:12):
Rick, You being like you want efficiency and stuff that
that that takes a lot of work because you've already
done it.
Speaker 3 (02:34:18):
You've already already know what you want. What about set up? Huh?
What about the time to say?
Speaker 5 (02:34:23):
So you're only doing it once and now you're setting
it up every time you want to hear it.
Speaker 3 (02:34:26):
I like to hit it and then see what what what?
What's coming up next? Okay? Yeah, I just individually pick here?
Go ahead.
Speaker 2 (02:34:39):
Hey, hey guys, this uh Does Adlers still have the
uh podcast that he had one time on the Rick
and Bubba Show, Because when I go to Spotify and
type in his name, it comes up dudes on dudes?
Speaker 3 (02:34:52):
By the way, how Gronk let them name his podcast up?
How do you miss Harold again? He don't have friends? Like, no,
he doesn't.
Speaker 6 (02:35:02):
What I stopped doing that podcast when I had kids.
All right, okay, so.
Speaker 3 (02:35:06):
I forgot about that. You don't have eything going on.
Speaker 7 (02:35:10):
Hey, By the way, Rick, I did remember, though, even
with all I got going on, I did remember to
bring you your birthday present that I got you when
I was in Las Vegas airport delayed for nine hours.
Speaker 3 (02:35:21):
Here it is.
Speaker 6 (02:35:22):
It's a pin.
Speaker 3 (02:35:25):
Thank you. Listen, Thank you so much.
Speaker 6 (02:35:29):
It's a click click.
Speaker 3 (02:35:30):
You wouldn't believe what I really wanted. An encoder.
Speaker 7 (02:35:34):
Encoder, Yeah, I do, that's what I want to I
would love that too.
Speaker 6 (02:35:38):
But it's ink now.
Speaker 3 (02:35:39):
Thank you, ink pens. Thank you for ink? Pretty good? Yeah?
Just one or a couple? Just one? Did you take it?
Did you take it? What now you are taking? Did
you take the pen after using it.
Speaker 1 (02:35:53):
At air for Oh? This is the Rick Burgess Show.
You better listen up.
Speaker 3 (02:36:14):
You know what we.
Speaker 6 (02:36:15):
Say all sign an.
Speaker 3 (02:36:19):
You gotta find.
Speaker 1 (02:36:25):
The voice of reason in an unreasonable world. The Rick
burchest Show.
Speaker 3 (02:36:31):
Hello America, welcome in for a brand new iur Thank
you for being with us. However, you are getting the
program now. One of our live options is down and
it's gonna be down for probably a few days. Cast
of the equipment that has to be replaced, and that
is the live YouTube option. The arcive YouTube is fine,
podcast archives fine, screaming apps are fine, and of course
(02:36:54):
the radio stations are all fine. So all you're missing
is a live option on YouTube. But I know a
lot of you love that option. So ADDER is going
to work to get the We got the equipment in,
it's just gonna take some days to install it. With
all the other things that we do to our to
get all the content available for you on your own
(02:37:15):
time every day, that takes up a lot of time.
So uh, and we're kind of a you know, a
small team, but it's gonna be kind of a major overhaul.
But once we get that done, that equipment will be
updated in news so that's good, but it's going to
take process. So live YouTubers, we hope you found other options.
Speaker 9 (02:37:34):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (02:37:34):
That would include the streaming app, streaming apps for our affiliates,
hopefully maybe a radio station if you have one.
Speaker 14 (02:37:42):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (02:37:42):
And of course you can always watch the YouTube option
on your own time because the archive, as I said,
will not be affected. Now that will affect today's Bible study.
There won't be a live option unless you're in the room,
but there will be an archive option, and that's a
larger audience any way. But I know there's a few
hundred of you that like to catch it live on
(02:38:03):
the YouTube, but that will not be available to you.
So the archive will be there on the podcast and
on the YouTube for you to listen to or watch
on your own time. So there's the update. This is
just life. I mean, these things happen and it'll take
some time, but we'll get it worked out and be
back with you. So, speaking of things, I asked Speedy
(02:38:24):
this in the break and someone on the text option
had had mentioned it. So is Zach Brian walking back
his Ice song now? Because you know what we heard
you know is you know, hey, Zack Brian has written
(02:38:46):
a song it's anti ice and with fading red, white
and blue or something and these colors or these colors
or whatever. And then there's been some comment from Zack
Brian that he's saying, hey, not so fast, I wouldn't
trying to be negative about whatever. Yeah, he has.
Speaker 5 (02:39:08):
The headline says he has released a statement on the song,
insisting he loves the country and trying to walk back
some things on bad News. The song it says. He
continued to say in his statement, I served the country.
I love this country, and the song itself is about
(02:39:29):
all of us coming out of this divided space that
we're in.
Speaker 3 (02:39:34):
He said. I wasn't speaking as a politician or some
greater than thou blank hole a hole, just a twenty
nine year old man who is just as confused as
everyone else. I see how much blank this has stirred up,
and it makes me not only embarrassed, but kind of scared.
(02:39:54):
Left wing or right wing, We're all one bird and American.
To be clearer, I am neither of these radical sides.
He said.
Speaker 8 (02:40:03):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (02:40:04):
To all those disappointed in me on either side or
whatever you believe in, just know I'm trying to do
my best too. And with all all things said, I
love this country and so well, so close to Toby
Keith's death too. Toby Keith wouldn't like that with.
Speaker 3 (02:40:23):
Him Minnie patriotic songs from Toby.
Speaker 5 (02:40:27):
Hours later, hours later, excuse me, he posted an additional
statement expressing heartbreak over being scrutinized for the last few months.
Speaker 7 (02:40:37):
Tobey Keith died in February twenty twenty four.
Speaker 3 (02:40:41):
Yep, Yeah, I'm just saying here we are. Yeah, okay,
that's all I'm playing here we are, here we are.
You can feel his death when this song came out. Okay,
where was he? Where was he to stand up? You've
got what he wants to say? You know, people got
to ride three? I mean, I mean he said this.
Speaker 5 (02:41:03):
This shows how divisive a narrative can be when shoved
down our throats through social media. This song is about
how much I love the country and everyone in it
more than anything. Of course, Lyrically, the song includes lyrics
like my friends are all degenerates, but they all they're all.
I got the generational story of dropping the plot. I
(02:41:26):
heard the cop, the cops name.
Speaker 3 (02:41:29):
The next one. I'm not gonna says, came okay, and
Ice is gonna come bust down your door. And it
goes on and on. I don't know how it's to
take it, but whatever, Well, what what he says about
the cops is not good? And so he called him something,
Yeah he did, and it's it's one of those rare
(02:41:50):
words that just about everybody's offended by. Uh So, So, anyway,
if if he if he, like Greg said, if he
wants to express himself, express on as long as he doesn't.
Somebody was asking earlier we did the thing about the
Halloween decorations about where the person had put and had
(02:42:11):
put the council and the district judges, you know, that
they had been killed as part of his Halloween decorations.
And somebody asked the question First Amendment. No, no, no, you
can't threaten to kill people that we're not allowed that freedom.
Uh So, when when you're putting something out like a
threat against a political figure or a public figure as
(02:42:32):
part of your Halloween decorations, that's not First Amendment, that's
the criminal Act. And then it's it's worse than even
having your trailer and your driveway for working on it.
For hard to imagine anything worse than that. Yeah, my goodness.
But but the anyway, what Zach Bryan did is he
(02:42:53):
he wrote him a song and he was mad and
and it's out there and people hist of his fan
base are mad because I don't agree with him, and
especially when you go down that road and what he's
trying to say is I love American. I'm trying to
point out what's wrong with America. But you have to
understand when you go into that world of here's what
I think is wrong. Then there's other people saying, well, see,
(02:43:15):
I don't think that's wrong. I'm glad we're finally dealing
with illegal immigration. I'm glad we're dealing with open borders.
And there's nothing un American about having a sovereign country
and having borders that you vet people out with because
it keeps us all safe as well. I would disagree
with you. I'm just being the opposing point of view.
(02:43:37):
And when you write these kind of songs, you're gonna
either be loved for it and celebrating and you will be,
or you're going to be vilified and argued with by
people who don't agree with you. So I would just say,
suck it up, Buttercup, Yeah, that's any song right now.
If I brought it up with that, right, we missed
the story. But him and another country singer, we're about
(02:43:59):
to get in a fight and he climbed the fence.
I saw it, Bob wre on Tom and he went
there and got We never really even talked about it,
and I don't even know about their story. It's been
a few weeks ago, So it's the old story, right,
Am I wrong about that? Adlert. Do you say the
same thing.
Speaker 6 (02:44:12):
Yeah, it's uh.
Speaker 7 (02:44:13):
In fact, I think it's even that guy that we
brought up a few weeks ago. Yeah, yeah, Gavin Adcock,
the guy that looks like Rick that likes parties.
Speaker 11 (02:44:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (02:44:25):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 7 (02:44:25):
So here you go, SAMs on one side of the fence,
you have Zach Bryan. On the other side of the fence.
You have Gavin Adcock a ka Rick Burgess when he
was in his twenties. Yes, yes, yes, So there you go.
That's what And it was odd. Zack Brian climbed climb.
He climbed the fence with barbed wire at.
Speaker 6 (02:44:44):
The top of it.
Speaker 15 (02:44:45):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (02:44:46):
I don't know what their beef was. What was their beef?
What was the argument about?
Speaker 4 (02:44:49):
I don't know.
Speaker 7 (02:44:49):
I think Gavin Adcock has he he grinds. He grinds
a lot of people's gears, you know what I mean.
So there's Gavin Adcock in the vest. Zach Brian just
jumped the fence.
Speaker 6 (02:44:59):
There he is, by the way.
Speaker 7 (02:44:59):
I I think that's barbar He's just jumping over it
like it's not barb wire. Yeah, but uh, I think
security security kept them separated and nobody actually.
Speaker 3 (02:45:09):
Fought his big fella, big fella. Is he security for
Zach Bryan. That's a big old fellow.
Speaker 6 (02:45:15):
I think he's that.
Speaker 7 (02:45:16):
I think he's security. He may be even security for
the Gavin Adcock.
Speaker 3 (02:45:21):
You need to get a brother.
Speaker 6 (02:45:22):
He brother back up.
Speaker 3 (02:45:23):
Yeah, and I'll be honest. Didn't look like ad Cock
wanted to get around him. But then he's not honest. Yes,
that don't don't compare to me, then no, because I
ain't nothing between us but airon opportunity. Anyway, I got
caught up that air time. That air just took us
all man. You started up there. You know one the
(02:45:47):
one that upsets you the most is when everything hit
seemed to calm down. I know that was only we
we had a closing plate, seemed like everything was finebody well,
and you know what it was. And you've been there
that that last comment that came out that started to fight,
It's like I couldn't help it. It just it just
(02:46:07):
flew out that I couldn't stop it. I even kind
of wish I could stop it because I dreaded, we can't.
I dreaded what was the next you know what? But anyway,
that was just I saw that footage and I thought
it was weird him coming over with the Bardimir. They
said that didn't know it was strange that actually Mark
Sanchez showed up and stabbed both of them. Mark, somebody says,
(02:46:33):
I'm want to commercial. That's one they danced around.
Speaker 1 (02:46:40):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Drink Buzzbox the world's
best coffee now by going to Birchministries dot com. Ten
(02:47:02):
percent of each order goes to the Roner Burgess Memorial Fund.
Buzzbox Coffee make a difference, one cup at a time.
Speaker 3 (02:47:10):
Yes sir, Yes, sir. Thanks to all of you out
there that are drinking Buzzbox coffee and helping to fund
the Burgess Memorial Fund. You can find all that at
Burgessministries dot com. Is every month we hand out those
evangelical grants to ministries all over the world. In our country,
you know, we follow the instructions of Jesus. We're taking
(02:47:32):
care of things that are happening locally, then in our state,
then in our country, and then to the ends of
the earth, just as we were instructed by our Lord
and Savior. So those of you that are either drinking
the coffee to help with that nonprofit, are you donate
from time to time. We are so thankful, and boy
are you making a difference. So thank you so much
(02:47:54):
for that. It really really has helped so many people.
All Right, So a couple of things we we haven't
had any more. By the way, I'm surprised, I'm really
surprised at the number of people that are not really
big fans of Zach Brian. They say that he's a
good songwriter, good singer, but they don't really like him
(02:48:16):
as a person. I don't know much about Some of
them are good whatever. I mean, it never hung out
with Yeah, I mean, I'm not going to get him
to the point that he's climbing a barboe barbar fence
to fight. But I will say this, it's amazing. I
kind of don't understand. How's he drawing the crowds he
draw Oh No, I don't mean that. I'm just so
(02:48:37):
he I mean, I hear you make you feel that
at the Big House.
Speaker 6 (02:48:43):
So I'll say this about that.
Speaker 7 (02:48:45):
So you've got these huge acts, like I don't want
to name any acts because I'm about to counter counter
that with the authenticity and the actual real country sound
of real country people like your Zach Bryan's like your
Red Clay Straight they're they're just authentic and they're not overproduced.
I think we've had such so many acts come through
(02:49:07):
they're just auto tuned into oblivion and popified and it
doesn't even it sounds like pop music with a country accent.
And I think that's why you have these bands like
your Zach Bryan's and your Red Clay Stras that are
just blowing up, drawing huge crowds because it's something different
and it's authentic and it rings true with people, especially
young kids.
Speaker 3 (02:49:26):
They're there. It's what we've talked about a lot of
times on the show, and we're half joking, but we're
half serious. I think people have a desperate need for
what's real. They have a desperate need for it, Like
you said, authenticity, you know, and if you and when
you hear it or get to experience it, you're drawn
to it, whether you know, realize they or not. But
(02:49:48):
apparently this fight they say, and I don't know, I
don't want all that to deal with the devil right
with Greg? And there's that too. Greg always leaves out
there is there's people saying that there was a teenage
girl that asked why Zach Brian didn't sign something for
her on social media and made him look bad, and
(02:50:10):
he said something crude back to her and her being
so young. People took issue with that, and that's what
the that's what the argument was about. That's what the
other singer was taking the task over, say saying, you know, wow,
you said that to a thirteen fourteen year old girl
on social media. And they remember that.
Speaker 5 (02:50:28):
The old story about but I don't didn't he wasn't
it the alleged cheating on the wife thing. I remember
that blew up. But they had a big, big, big
split up. I think, yeah, oh really, I remember reading
entertainment news and stuff about that.
Speaker 3 (02:50:41):
Yeah, I don't know enough about it. You made you
My knowledge of a lot of these artists, it just
doesn't go beyond hey, that's a pretty good song or
it's not. Yeah, we have a couple of things to
look at today. Looks like Odell Beckham junior. Yeah, I
didn't know he was still around the lady. I didn't either,
six game suspension for performance enhancing drugs. I'm trying to
(02:51:03):
stay in the league, trying to stay in the league,
trying to keep that that that body strong recover from injuries. Uh,
he tested positive. His testosterone levels were too high, and
so he will be suspended. Greg, you have that problem? Yes, yeah,
I do. Yeah. By the way, the audience loving what
(02:51:24):
just happened Adler? With his birthday coming up in December.
You just referred to young people. It's happened. Yep, it's happened.
Speaker 6 (02:51:33):
I'm thirty nine, I'm old.
Speaker 3 (02:51:38):
Speaking of O'Dell Beckham Junior and players, I don't know.
I saw him. He was on the Chiefs. Where is
he now? I don't have a cloaks? Am I confusing
him with men? I can't remember now I'm confusing him.
I always confuse him with the honey badger. I confuse
(02:51:59):
Odell Becker with a honey badger. I think officially he
did so. I don't know where Odell Beckham Junior was
after John? So where do you go there? I don't know.
I have to hide. I was sitting here looking at
this though. You are y aren't big hecklers? Are y'all?
At games? I've seen him, I'm not.
Speaker 6 (02:52:18):
But isn't it.
Speaker 5 (02:52:19):
Really more at the the referee or the umpire and
less at the player?
Speaker 3 (02:52:24):
Yes? Because no, Well, remember that one playoff game at
Jack State player, I was getting on the team. We
were playing pretty hard. Okay, we were drilling them, and
remember they came it was right Indiana. Now they came
back and made it a game. We still won. Yeah, uh,
and I was on them pretty heavy, were you. Well,
(02:52:46):
I remember that it's all according how prepared for the game.
But but normally, but normally I was on officials okay,
and yeah I work officials as a coach and as
a fan. Okay. He would throw the the striped shirt
foot locker and my favorite was, did you just get
off your shift to foot lock Yeah? Right right, Well,
(02:53:08):
there's a new study out. There's a good game going on.
Maybe just scream you're horrible. Yeah, yeah, there's a new
study out. And the question was asked, have you ever
personally heckled a player at a sports event? And it's
kind of interesting here. Eighty percent say no never. Who
knows that they're lying a player?
Speaker 5 (02:53:29):
Yes many times, four percent yes once or twice, ten
percent not sure, I can't remember six percent, but eighty
percent said no never. Now I don't sit around those
people because they're always hollering and screaming out.
Speaker 3 (02:53:44):
But I think i've.
Speaker 5 (02:53:45):
Really, I've really more, especially in baseball, it's been more
towards the umpire.
Speaker 3 (02:53:49):
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. If I say anything, it's
that I think the reason why we're not as accustomed
to that culture the few times I've stepped into the
culture that really is more of a professional sports fan issue.
They take on the player, their dog, a player that's right.
College and high school people pretty much just stay on
the official unless the correct then it's different. He brings. Yeah,
(02:54:15):
somebody said he and Zach Brian have a lot in
comment So, yeah, they say old Dell Beckham Junior is
a free agent. But he said if he's been suspended,
he's playing for somebody. Is he not on the suspends somebody?
He's trying to bite that suspension? He found it all.
Maybe yeah, y'all going out they got it. So yeah, Yeah,
(02:54:36):
I've heard Philadelphia fans, uh huh, New York fans they'll
get on a player. You better believe they will. We'll
be right back.
Speaker 1 (02:54:44):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the man who shaved
thirty minutes off his last road trip.
Speaker 3 (02:54:58):
Rick, there's a thing of beauty. I know, it's beautiful.
Thanks for being with us. Hello America, anybody got tax
issues out there? Sorry? The men to bring this up
US tax Shield. The Better Business Bureau gives them an
A plus rating. You're ready to get this off you,
(02:55:20):
get this burden off of you. Okay, you are now
in the crosshairs of the largest collection agency in the world. Okay,
they'll garnish your wages, they'll sell you stuff and put
you in jail, all kinds of fines. So why don't
you use US tax shield to shield you from that?
(02:55:41):
Stop the calls. Start talking to the I R s.
They got a wealth of knowledge, some of them former agents,
and then they'll find a program, work with the government
who they want to resolve this to and to get
you out of this situation. Get this off of you.
See if they can't negotiate down the smallest payoff for
(02:56:02):
you to get right and get current and get your
life back. Called one eight hundred and seven six nine
seven three four. Oh are you used? The link has
the phone number there at Rick burgesshow dot com under sponsors.
So I'm looking at text Nation and you never know
what you're going to see there. Okay, I was listening
(02:56:23):
to the show. Then all of a sudden. It was
a commercial about skid marks in your drawers. True story,
So I wonder what option that is.
Speaker 5 (02:56:34):
It sounds to me has to be streamed because sometimes
the commercial just it'll interrupt.
Speaker 3 (02:56:38):
What is this a watching detergent? Yeah? Is that what
it is? It just and it came on top of
the show. I mean, I know these things happen. There's
so many different things out there and so much going on,
but to be interrupted by commercials one thing, what about
skid marks? And it speaks so much to the show.
You know, Now I will tell you, I will tell
(02:57:01):
you what the the way it is now these pharmaceutical
companies and all this, they they have so much money.
But man, you know, because if you think about all
the different elements that the human body has, they're pretty gross.
And and there's they'll they'll deal with that. Lower tracks.
That making bunch that we have, it's about fiber, okay,
(02:57:22):
when they talking about colors and good night. Have you
ever heard Gary try to say metamucial?
Speaker 2 (02:57:29):
You heard.
Speaker 3 (02:57:31):
What I do to stay regular? Is I get me
this a little spoonful of and a couple of things
going on. It's almost like Chicago, you know, which it's
a great feeling if you live in Chicago that Monday
shows up and you're not dead. You know I did it.
(02:57:52):
Uh So, the the National Guard has deployed twenty two
hundred troops. I'm sorry to Illinois for a federal protecttion
mission amid the protests that are going on there. And
what's funny, I really thought Attorney General Pam Bondi had
a great comment when she said, Okay, if y'all want
to for out how to do this, since this is
(02:58:12):
working everywhere else we're doing this, why don't you just
love Chicago, love your city as much as you hate Trump? Yeah, yeah,
back and forth with.
Speaker 5 (02:58:24):
Just sounds like a pro wrestler. She said, apparently you
hate Trump more than you love this guy.
Speaker 3 (02:58:35):
Just love Chicago. How can any of the There's so
many things that are happening now that should not be political,
I know, and and one of them is, hey, how
about let's let's see if we can take all these
criminals and all the all these different you know, crime
gangs that are they're taking over parts of our country,
and let's see if we can't make the citizens safe
(02:58:56):
again and give them their neighborhoods, them their cities give
it back to them and then they can vote forever
they want to. I mean, it's who's against that in? Yeah,
I guess dirty d Yeah, well this is she was.
Speaker 5 (02:59:13):
He was talking to ranking member mister Dirdin. Yeah, Durbin,
I should say yesterday and this was what happened.
Speaker 17 (02:59:20):
The word is and I think it's been confirmed by
the White House they are going to transfer Texas National
Guard units to the state of Illinois.
Speaker 3 (02:59:28):
What's the rationale for that, Chairman?
Speaker 18 (02:59:30):
As you shut down the government, you voted to shut
down the government, and you're sitting here.
Speaker 3 (02:59:35):
Our law enforcement officers aren't being paid.
Speaker 18 (02:59:37):
They're out there working to protect you. I wish you
love Chicago as much as you hate President Trump, and
currently the National Guard are on the way to Chicago.
If you're not going to protect your citizens, President Trump.
Speaker 3 (02:59:49):
Will they get Dirty D?
Speaker 11 (02:59:55):
Was?
Speaker 3 (02:59:55):
It was it naked gun?
Speaker 5 (02:59:56):
When he has the bullhorn and the places burning behind him,
he goes, there's nothing.
Speaker 3 (03:00:01):
That's what the left is doing in these big major cities.
There's just crap going on. There's like, we don't need anybody,
there's nothing going on here. We got this. Who are
they back? Dad? Bob? You remember that. Why they why
they here? What's the rationale? Why they coming? Why do
you think you idiot? Right? Remember the bunch up north
when they were saying it was peaceful protest and some
(03:00:22):
stuff burning behind them.
Speaker 7 (03:00:23):
Mostly piece, mostly fiery, fiery, but mostly peaceful.
Speaker 6 (03:00:29):
That's insane. Also JB.
Speaker 7 (03:00:31):
Prick talking about how he's like, you know, they're just
rounding up people like, you know, making them. Yeah, there
may they might even be citizens. I don't know about y'all,
but I don't keep like a piece of paper in
my pocket that says I'm a citizen. You mean like
a driver's license? Really, I I have that with me
every day, all the time, actually.
Speaker 3 (03:00:51):
Unless my wallet's in the truck. You're talking about it?
When they can you not tell them you'r SoC Security
number because we all have it? Yeah, yes, memorize it. Yeah,
I know mine? Do you do? You do not? I
know my driver's license number? I do show you. I
know what is it? I know?
Speaker 6 (03:01:06):
Yeah, I don't say that.
Speaker 3 (03:01:09):
Great on that that's my driver's live that's not good, buddy,
my driver's license. You don't remember what I said? Come
get it? You don't remember?
Speaker 11 (03:01:21):
Great?
Speaker 6 (03:01:21):
They can it?
Speaker 3 (03:01:23):
What are you gonna do with it three things, three
things pretend to be me fine, three things I told
my boys.
Speaker 5 (03:01:29):
You gotta memorize checking account, driver's license, and SoC security number.
Speaker 3 (03:01:34):
Those three things.
Speaker 6 (03:01:35):
Wait, why do you have to no driver's license?
Speaker 3 (03:01:37):
Drivers? Just because I mean you always having to look
forward to whatever. If you have to write it down,
know that you're checking account number and your social that
you come up with those, memorize those three.
Speaker 5 (03:01:46):
Things, it will, it will really help you. But the
tag I cannot. I cannot lock in my tag number.
Speaker 3 (03:01:53):
That way. That one.
Speaker 6 (03:01:53):
I feel like you should know that one versus your
driver's license.
Speaker 3 (03:01:56):
Probably you think because your car I can say that
you ready for this. I don't know the first letter
of my tag. Now. The reason why I think the
tag I've dealt with this a lot, so seven ninety
sixty two I'm making all that this is. This is
what gets me to your point, Adler. If I can't
and I do know my driver's license number, but if
(03:02:18):
I if I can't remember it, it's pretty easy just
to get out of my wallet. When you are filling
out something and they ask your car tag, you're like, yeah,
and you got to go outside. You gotta find your car. Yeah, yeah,
got to take a picture. I really need doll I can.
I just can't. Yeah, So that's a and I've had
that happen to me so many times because especially because
(03:02:40):
I love to do the air valet at the at
the airport. Yeah, and of course you're filling out your
latest reservation. You're kicking along, you're doing great. Elsen's like
tag number. You're like, that's weird. You're right, I have
no idea of my tag. Yeah, I just can't. Like, yeah,
if it was personalized, like damn, I'm good something like that,
(03:03:02):
that is that the person you want. So if you
wanted to get one, that'd be it.
Speaker 7 (03:03:10):
Okay, Well, then we know you have to you know,
short like D M, I M G something like that.
Speaker 6 (03:03:16):
People wouldn't even know what you're saying. You ever see
that one.
Speaker 3 (03:03:19):
Wonders Normally, I normally stay away from us, just the layers.
I'm gonna stay away from GD on there, yeah, g
U D good good.
Speaker 6 (03:03:33):
Y'all know that the numbers mean stuff on tags?
Speaker 3 (03:03:36):
No, I didn't know.
Speaker 7 (03:03:37):
Yeah, the first number corresponds to the county.
Speaker 6 (03:03:41):
That that okay, yeah.
Speaker 3 (03:03:43):
Asking, but they kind of went away from that. Now
that kind of happened. Yeah, now they're using using a
lot more letters and eleven.
Speaker 5 (03:03:49):
Remember tag our inturn, he could the state of Alabama,
you could give him, give him the number, he'd know
what county the county was.
Speaker 3 (03:03:55):
Yeah, you don't remember that, we do, but you're right.
It looks like the county numbers are not they've changed
with us, Like all ours were eleven, and then ty
Dick County was thirty one.
Speaker 7 (03:04:04):
Well it's the first number, not the first letter. It's
the first numbers. What I say, So a one would
be Jefferson County.
Speaker 3 (03:04:10):
Yeah. See, back in the old days, it was just
the number would be. We start out that there wouldn't
be any letters, it'd just be numbers. We'd go eleven
and then we would have Yeah, that was it, but
not anymore. Now they got a lot more letters.
Speaker 7 (03:04:22):
Jefferson's one, mobile two, and then Montgomery three goes.
Speaker 3 (03:04:26):
To you did it earn someone different? Need? That's just
in our state. We know our numbers. Yeah, Dang, you're good, Greg, Dang,
you're Goodang, I'm good.
Speaker 15 (03:04:37):
I Greg.
Speaker 3 (03:04:38):
We'll be back wrapping up another hour, one more segment.
Let hanging there, We'll be right back.
Speaker 1 (03:04:45):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. He will likely be
(03:05:06):
the new CEO of Cracker Barrel Rick Burchers.
Speaker 3 (03:05:11):
Yep, I got it. Just hand it over, I'll have it.
Thanks for being with US America. So some couple of
things out here, And I know Handler, you've had a
bit of a rough day with the live YouTube option.
We've had a piece of equipment that it failed. It
(03:05:33):
needs to be replaced. It will be replaced, and that
gives us the live option on YouTube. Archives are unaffected,
so you will have the archive today. You will have
the Wednesday Bible study archive, not the live option, but
you will have the archive both on YouTube and on
the podcast channel. So archives unaffected, all other live options unaffected.
(03:05:56):
The only thing affected is the YouTube live option. So
but we'll get it fixed as soon as we can.
It may take a few days. I know some of
you don't like hearing that, but I don't know what
else to tell you. Yell, it's a process. We have
to get it done. So so I know with all
that going on this one, but I think that this
(03:06:18):
is somebody maybe we need to help because I haven't
had not I haven't had one person say this other
than this person, Adler, And now I'm on this too.
Please investigate the loud buzzer sound that has occurred multiple
times on the most recent archives. I just heard it
again on episode sixteen a Strange Encounters. Buzzer. Loud buzzer.
(03:06:40):
What is she talking about me?
Speaker 7 (03:06:41):
I actually, I actually did hear that on Strange Encounters.
Oh no, what cause what I'm essentially trying to do
here is go from a combustion engine to a electric vehicle.
But it's like I have to take the seats with
me and put the old seats into the new vehicle.
Speaker 6 (03:06:59):
It is a drastic change.
Speaker 7 (03:07:00):
It's not just a simple one take one box out
and put it back in. I'm sorry that it's dominated
the show today. I'm incredibly frustrated. I've been dealing with
these technical problems as our system ages out for a
very long time. But truthfully, with the amount of content
that we have to turn around every single day, there's
a very small window, ever in our entire calendar year
for me to get all of this stuff gutted, reset up, tested,
(03:07:24):
and then back on the air so that I can
turn out and crank out content again. But yes, I
did hear that buzzing sound for the very first time
I heard it was in that episode of Strange Encounters,
So know that I am on.
Speaker 6 (03:07:34):
That that.
Speaker 3 (03:07:37):
It's just what I'm saying.
Speaker 7 (03:07:38):
It's a corrupt a moment of corrupt audio. So it's
just like a this like that, like a buzz.
Speaker 3 (03:07:44):
Yeah. Is it been on our other archives too?
Speaker 7 (03:07:46):
I haven't heard it in any of the other archives.
The first I heard it was in episode sixteen.
Speaker 3 (03:07:51):
But you see what I'm saying, if that's the only
place it is. Could it be supernatural?
Speaker 6 (03:07:57):
Could it be supernatural?
Speaker 7 (03:07:59):
Yeah, we weren't going to say could it be cannabis?
Speaker 3 (03:08:01):
And I remember that, so you knew what she was
talking about. Okay. I was a little spook by that,
you know when she I was okay, so she threw
in the Strange Encounters episode and I'm like, well wait
a minute, watch out well and by the way, Strange Encounters,
we will do that this week too, because it doesn't
require it doesn't require a live option, So it's the
(03:08:21):
live option and advert you know this that we talked about.
I mean, we knew this equipment was going to to
crash and burn, and we got the new equipment, but
it's the installation that we that we've been trying to
find the window for Yeah, that's it.
Speaker 6 (03:08:37):
And without a looming deadline of content.
Speaker 3 (03:08:40):
Right. I don't know how you do that. It'll have
to be over a weekend or some sort of holiday almost,
but we may just have to say, can we can
we still accomplish the goals we need to accomplish on
some of the archive content. I don't know. We'll work
it out. We gotta do one some I mean, somebody's
(03:09:02):
gonna have to pay a price. Uh. And and we
may just have to gut through it, yeah, and get
and get to the other side. Yeah, as best we can. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (03:09:11):
If anything, my weekend plans have drastically changed. And that's fine.
Speaker 3 (03:09:15):
That's that's fine, no big deal. And you know I've
become a little more handy. So if you need yeah.
Speaker 7 (03:09:22):
For righty, righty wrighty, if I never need some righty
righty writing.
Speaker 3 (03:09:25):
You need me to come up here hang with you Saturday,
let me know it sounds good. Okay, I'll come up
here with my Phillips said and be ready to go.
Can I ask a personal request? Here we go, Greg,
This always sounds like it's directed at you and me.
Well it is. And y'all. Y'all told me you're going
to act right, and then you don't. And I think
(03:09:46):
some of it's just just to get to me, and
I get it some week.
Speaker 5 (03:09:51):
We have a guest coming in tomorrow towards the maybe
the last part of the show, maybe last hour.
Speaker 3 (03:10:00):
Client. No, it's a.
Speaker 5 (03:10:02):
Professional, uh in golf in the PGA to a professional
and loves the show. Been following the Rick and Bubby
Show for the years. Loves the new show Burgess show.
He's close to the studio because he's going to the
Georgia Auburn game. So he's going to be in town
(03:10:22):
the games in Auburn Saturday night. So does he played football, No,
and he played golf. He plays golf currently and finished
twenty first in the tournament this past weekend. And so
he's going to be in town. He's going to be
in town and he's going to swim through. And I
know it's golf and it's the PGA Tour, and y'all
(03:10:44):
for some reason find yourself looking down at that.
Speaker 3 (03:10:48):
I don't know why professional with at that level.
Speaker 5 (03:10:53):
It's more than a sk at that level, I'm talking
about the best of the best in our tour.
Speaker 3 (03:10:58):
That mean the most skilled golfers. I agree, And I
see this is what I see. I know you do this?
How is that a dig? And I just want you
all to play nice? Is all I'm worried about it. Uh.
Speaker 5 (03:11:09):
And and I know you're gonna be very nice. You're
gonna you're gonna love him. Uh and uh, I think,
but I just I just don't want this weird, this weird.
Speaker 3 (03:11:18):
Probably yeah, give me something that we can relate to.
He went to Georgia. Man, that hurt. Okay. See, I
would like to be good at golf, So even though
I know nothing about it, I really would. What are
some things I can talk with him about that aren't golf.
Let's see, he's titles sponsored. Let's go, so I know
I can. I can talk in your stuff?
Speaker 5 (03:11:39):
Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, let's see here commercials.
Speaker 3 (03:11:43):
Yeah. And when he leaves, you can't look at him
and hit him straight. You can't. He loves watching the office.
Speaker 5 (03:11:51):
Okay, there we go where there's strong in his faith
and very open about it.
Speaker 3 (03:11:56):
Okay, that's good. He listens to your weekly Bible study. Okay,
we're in. Uh.
Speaker 5 (03:12:00):
He loves sweets like uh Oreo dipped and gilk and
Reese cups that.
Speaker 3 (03:12:05):
Greg, where are you getting all this?
Speaker 5 (03:12:07):
He learned his way around the grill too, working on
his grill skills at home, but he wishes he could
do it a little bit better and is absolutely into
fantasy football, which I know you don't like. He's also
and this is where I can relate to him. He's
tight with his money and he's got a lot of.
Speaker 3 (03:12:22):
No wonder you made friends. But the only problem is
Ken does a one type person? Does the the one
type person? Now nobody will buy lunch. So what do
y'all do? Right?
Speaker 5 (03:12:34):
I guess we flip for it? We flipped for it
or something. He's going to come in and and and
I'm probably blowd He's coming in to marrow. So I'm
gonna wake up where you think? And I just want
to do Davis Davis Thompson. And you say we want that, right,
that's really offensive?
Speaker 3 (03:12:52):
Well you want?
Speaker 5 (03:12:53):
And so I've been texting with Davis. Uh can I
call him his first name?
Speaker 3 (03:12:58):
You know? Okay?
Speaker 5 (03:12:59):
And he excited to be coming through town. I'm excited
and uh, and I hope that y'all just play nice
because I'm gonna be worried about it.
Speaker 3 (03:13:06):
We'll super nice. If I called you incredibly skilled, would
that bother you?
Speaker 11 (03:13:11):
No?
Speaker 3 (03:13:12):
No, thank you?
Speaker 5 (03:13:12):
At the highest level he plays on the tour, guys,
it's more than a skill, Rick good.
Speaker 3 (03:13:17):
Is he handy? Probably? Or something we talk about.
Speaker 5 (03:13:21):
I mean, I think maybe you could talk to him
about spiral dogs as he's trying to get better on
the grill.
Speaker 3 (03:13:26):
I think that's easy. I think I will something hard
he likes. Sweet. We're gonna talk to him there. I'm
gonna talk to him about the Bible study. Uh huh.
I'm gonna talk to him about grilling the office and
that's all he likes off, But surely we can get
an hour right of that football. Does he I'm gonna
ask him, just as a joke, if he ever met
Randolph Juna. See, this is what you're worried about.
Speaker 5 (03:13:49):
This is Hanky's all over again. Remember he was gonna
play nice about that. Every school in the city was
tuned in. Yeah, they're all sitting on the floor. I
didn't turn out the show.
Speaker 3 (03:13:59):
Look, Rick had pulled down the screen. I mean, had
to had to show piped in. This one was so
many that's well. I couldn't believe it because You're like, okay, yeah, good.
That's like that's all the things that I knew I
didn't need to do, but I just couldn't help. Right,
that's good. It's like something took me off. Let's see,
that's the thing else. Ibody meant to go And you
tell me you wish I had not said what I've
(03:14:21):
said that time, somimes. You can't help it. It just
takes you. So this is what to expect him on. Yeah,
that's a great guys.
Speaker 1 (03:14:29):
Here's the Rick Burgers Show.
