already talking about the Phillies. Karen, I see that. Uh
we'll talk about that today. We're here speedy, Greg and
Adler all back from the weekend. Uh, fellas, I hope
(02:16):
y'all are ready. We got a lot to do, as
is the US. Yep, ready ready. Grady got a weekend
legs hunders. Yeah, oh yeah, it was a you know
sometimes you come off a weekend to get some wrisks. Yeah,
I saw you and garaged it in a giant chair.
Speaker 3 (02:31):
That was good Coca Cola chair left guarded that Greg.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
When you said that Gary and I looked like two
bearded babies, he did, like a bearded toddlers sitting in
a big their parents chair. Well, you know, we have
a look, we have a we have an endorsement deal
with Coca Cola. And don't you think that's exactly what
they're looking for? Of course that's quite look that right there.
When Gary and I saw the giant Coca Cola chair,
we started laughing at the thought of us in it
(02:57):
and could not wait to get somebody to take a
picture of us there. I have an update from the
Tinglewood Festival. About that tingle Wood. Yeah, it's Gary calls
something else. Yeah, he doesn't this I'm at. I'm at
the guys named after Tinglewood.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
You met.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
His name is Tinglewood. His name is Tingle.
Speaker 3 (03:14):
You met mister Tangle.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
I met the tingle went over there. Do you know
how tingle became the Tinglewood Festival? No, I do not.
Apparently he's very good with the chainsaw and taking woodland
everywhere and turning it into art. Okay, lot of a
lot of chainsaw art.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
I like this first, last name.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
Last nations Tingle, I said, I want to talk to
they do that. I went over there to the welcome
that I want to talk to d Tingle. You think
he did? You think he didn't have woodworking all around?
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Gary kept calling him mister Dingle, which I.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
Thought over really on the way out, let's go say
hey to mister Dingle. And I was like, yeah, it's Tingle.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
It's it's not it's Tingle. He's got me saying it.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
I like to see Gary take up some chainsaw art,
thea that be right up his Outand you know, Hope Speedy,
we talk about you when we get talking about music,
and you know how it must feel. And you know
how sometimes I bring Gary into our world, and then
there's times I'm in Gary's world. Yeah, I think I
was in Gary's world. Oh really, Oh Gary, you think
that all kinds of handy woodwork in carpenter tops and
(04:19):
they've had old tractors and old cars, and Gary loves
old cars. A lot old cars and a lot of
old tractors. Uh, and a lot a lot of a
lot of woodwork, a lot of acts throwing. Well that
you've got blue grass? Yes, By the way, you remember
o Big Boy that I said can really well on
the guitar he was playing. If you're gonna have bluegrass
and you don't have him, you ain't nothing. He's the
(04:41):
man right there. Still a little better job on checking
arm bands on the hostility tent. But well, you know
where we where we live, Where we live. Okay, the
weather yesterday turned beautiful and the humidity left us again,
and it's it feels wonderful outside right now. Okay, that
(05:03):
was Hey, that was not the case. Saturday. Yeah, it
was Saturday, which was Saturday, was August again, and it
was hot and it was humid, and it was miserable
and and it was it was baking everybody. You know,
the festival was it was a hot festival. Yea.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
And even though there were some shade trees.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
He's still hot, the hot guy right there. Yeah, and
he looks so hot. Yeah, it's so very hot and
so and uh. But I also have I have a
not so good report on our country. What's that? When
I get back, I we'll talk about it when it's
not a good report. No, Hey, the country, the country. Hey,
we got problems. Yeah, boy. And I looked at right
(05:44):
and I looked at right in the face, in the
faces of a bunch of children, and uh, they got
they don't know. I don't know what we're teaching in school,
but it ain't American history. Yeah, I mean, I mean
it was. It was I wept for I don't know
what we're doing, and I don't. I'm glad we're getting
(06:05):
rid of the Department of Education. These kids know nothing
about our country, nothing quite. I'm what they do know
has been revised. We were there for the semi Quinn
centennial or it's just flowing out. Matter of fact, Alabama,
we're doing such a good job preparing that you know,
there's twenty other states that's adopted our plan, and what're
(06:25):
model is what we do. So this was American Village,
which does teach American history, and we've got a brand
new Independence Hall which just opened. By the way, portraits
that will interact with you. It's a beautiful thing. I'm
begging teachers everywhere if you're not taking your kids to
American Village because the curriculum that you've been given by
the government doesn't include American history. My gosh, get them there, please.
(06:47):
They know nothing. So you had to answer just basic
questions to get to spend the wheel that we had
there to get you know, like you might get a
t shirt that has the two hundred and fiftieth on it,
you might get a cup, you might get some pencil
and a ruler. Of course, Gary had a ruler joke,
and he just kept on using if if he do
(07:08):
everybody who want a ruler. Here's what Gary said, Hey,
you better get that because I ain't making them any longer.
That's okay. He that funny. He thought he had him
something follow Every time that's enough you say I'm here,
I get to hear it. Every time you say, hey,
do you get your ruler. Enjoy it because he ain't
making them any longer. Gig a little bit after laugh time.
(07:32):
That was good. Here what I said I did here,
we heard it.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
Loved it again.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
Yeah. But so hey, hey, they don't know. They don't
know American history. When I tell y'all some of the
answers that we got to, some these are not hard questions.
I'm talking about the simplest questions. I think, my favorite,
my you know you'll want some favorites right now. Yeah. Wow,
if now somebody's gonna make you want to cry. Okay,
who wrote the Declaration of Independence? Great for them? Answer
(08:00):
Martin Luther King Jr. That was one. Okay, how old
is the country? Keepn mind there's two fifties on my shirt. Yeah,
everyone over the table everywhere, ready for this one? Fifty
fifty two? Mind, I'm sixty. So I for ten years
I lived in the British colony apparently, and don't ask
about a colony they ain't got in. I did what
a colony is. I had to change the question of
(08:23):
name two of the thirteen original colonies to their still
states now, so just throw a few states out there,
Oklahoma now to the thirteen original.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
Colleague California, and yeah, there you go.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
It's the opposite. Say my favorite when was the declaration
of independence? Sign you're ready for this one? Nineteen sixty?
I said, so wow, So I guess you think my
grandchildren know that it was? It was who was the
first president? Here'd you go? Here'd you want that one?
(08:59):
And then they and on that one, they just recklessly
grab names that they heard in history. I mean, it
was I could not believe. I was shocked how little
the people knew about our country. So it was way
worse than you, way worse, way worse.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
And it wasn't just kids, or was it all kids?
Speaker 1 (09:18):
It was mainly kids, but I'm talking about kids in
ninth grade. Okay, I'm talking about little kids. There were
some little kids I had, and then sometimes adults. Some
of the adults were way off, way off. I mean,
I mean terrifyingly off. Okay, So you name one of
the three branches of government ready for this one? The police? Okay, okay,
(09:44):
sort of sort of yeah, yeah, that's not it. That
was not it. Goodness, it was, by the way, uh
brig who who did we declare independence from? Queen Elizabeth?
Was an answer all right, all right, wow, I.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
Mean right right, idea.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
I guess that one was as closed as any answer. Yeah,
way off of the timeline.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
Way off, Benjamin Franklin.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
Look you think they went throw Benjamin Benjamin frank went
out there recklessly.
Speaker 4 (10:19):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
So good to us. You've been so good, uh to
our families. You know, you know Brooks graduating there. We
had a wonderful four years there. Y'all were so good
to him and such incredible host. We love tailgating with
all of you those four years. I love the Mississippi
State people. Uh. And you can almost if because when
(10:47):
you look at somebody like Speedy's dad who salted the
earth to me, that's that's that's the start. Will fan Uh,
they're they're kind, they have zero expectations, uh that they'll
they'll they'll be there for their team, but for a
team lets them down. You know. They just worked their
way through it. And when something good happens from Missispi State,
(11:08):
I'm all in and I and I love it and
so and you know it's and them last year. You know,
this whole n I L is starting over. Like you said,
when Leech died and you know the program was had
and now you're it's just been. It's been an incredible
run and of difficulty. And so when something good happens,
(11:31):
like beating the number twelve team in the nation on
this final play, well close to final play, I think
there was like thirty seconds there. Yeah, this is this
is what college football is all about. This is and
I'm sorry if you're an Arizona State fan, but I know.
But right, but y'all, look y'all don't know what we've
been through. So y'all must not know, right, y'all got
the playoff last year. Enjoy that, all right? So so
(11:52):
here it is warming up on the sideline. Two plays
to get nine yards to keep the game going.
Speaker 5 (11:59):
Pressure was up, well, then bills and ring right, So
this whole time, I still don't believe it.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
I'm looking from I'm looking for a flag.
Speaker 1 (12:16):
I'm waiting in them. Wait, wait a minute, the flag
back behind the hurry men. All right, So in a minute, Okay,
I watched this woman coming right here with her two boys.
One of them is just hanging on. Sorry about that.
We've been there. I'm sorry, we've all been there. She
is on the stade, look right here, look at him,
he's about to cry. Was like, Mama, mam, go down.
(12:42):
Mom had the hold of her son under his arm,
squeezing into death. So God love him, God love him.
That's a good ending.
Speaker 3 (12:53):
The yeah, uh, now the gold post thing, I think
they they took him down. They didn't they draw them.
They dropped them and got them out. And I think
they had the help of some to they but they
were just finding them out.
Speaker 1 (13:06):
Whatever. Yeah, but back to the Yeah.
Speaker 3 (13:11):
Unless you're just part of a program that just wins
all the time, you don't really truly know what it's like.
I know we've all had heartbreaking sports, but when you
are a fan of of you just never know. Uh,
it's tough because you don't know if it's real or not.
Like for me, there's thirty seconds left, I'm like, well,
we've left too much time on the clock, you know,
(13:31):
I mean, you know, your dooms not too quick. And
Terry always has to call me down because she's like,
the game's not over, it's the third quarter.
Speaker 1 (13:40):
No, we're giving the lead up. That is it? Because
you've been so heartbroken so many times. Yeah, at least
it gets onto me for that too. She'll go my goodness,
you're so negative. It's the first quarter and I do
it nothing lead, it's skipping, that's it. Yeah, classic State,
you know. Yeah, And I think then when we won.
Speaker 3 (13:57):
It's like wow.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
Yeah. And they didn't tear down the go.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
Post right, No, that's what I was saying. They took
them down and then carried them out. Yeah, so it
appeared as though they did, but they were just getting
them down and getting to.
Speaker 1 (14:07):
These as look for any excuse to climb on the gold.
I even remember when you know, my oldest son played
for Auburn, go into state and it would be a
very pleasant experience. And then of course when Brooks went there,
we went all maroon and enjoyed those four years. I
just I just love the fan base. I love that program,
and I love that town. And as a matter of fact,
(14:27):
I'm gonna let start win a little something Love ninety
six one there. They've been so good to us, to
all the Rick and Bubby years and staying with the
new show, and they're always so supportive. I will go
ahead and let you in a little something. We are
going to bring a Man Church conference back to Starkville
in twenty twenty six. That's awesome. Ye. So you'll get
more details on that probably first of October at the
(14:50):
end of this month. But we are coming back to Startwelle.
We had such a great experience there, but it'll be
we'll be doing it at a different venue. Uh. And
then there's another thing happening in twenty twenty six. There's
gonna be a big announcement coming up involving the show
that also will include a start will Stop, There we
Go and some other places too. But so that that's
(15:11):
that's that's good. I enjoyed that, and I thought that
was funny watching that mama with the with the little boy.
Speaker 3 (15:18):
It's like she was holding on to him and jumping
up and down and squeezing the fire out of him.
Speaker 1 (15:23):
He's like, ah, so uh, well, we'll be back a
few interesting things from the weekend involving football. We won't
spend too much more time on it, but there is
some more stuff.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
But she was shaking him like a cow bell.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
She was.
Speaker 4 (15:37):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 1 (15:46):

Uh So we talked. We talked a lot. We talked
to the Miss America pageant and my wife, of course,
I went to bed and she came to bed after,
(17:54):
you know, watching it on YouTube. And you know how
you can either wake up a lot of time for
coming to bed. You know that we've talked about our wives.
We love them so much, but they don't come in
and out of the room quietly. I mean, I can't
believe you were in there trying to sleep. You're so
excited over the bad. Well, I I was going to
bed earlier until I saw them bring out the Miss
(18:16):
Americas from the past, and I thought I better stay
with this for the show. So anyway show. But anyway,
so I go on to bed, Well, Sherry is thrilled
because and you remember we actually interviewed her back on
Rick and bub University when we did the one about
als Miss Alabama and so so Sherry is like just
(18:38):
cheering for Miss Alabama and Sheerry's Sherry was being a
little bit, I will say, confident about our Southern ladies.
I think the final some reason they did the final
eleven but instead of ten, but that it was like
it felt like like seven of them were Southern women.
You know, it was all the Southern states, because we
do have the most beautiful women in the word. Hey
(19:02):
we're hard to be yep, okay, yeah, absolutely, And so
I mean we just got beautiful women everywhere from all
over the South. And and She's like, you know, but
I'm really pulled it from Miss Alabama. But I hope
somebody from the South winds. And all of a sudden
they announced in the final eleven Miss New York and
she and she'd be giving a bunch of you know,
it was a it was a lady right, yeah, yes,
I think woke answers to all the questions, you know,
(19:25):
And we were just boom and and so I'm not baby,
I'm sorry, I might have to leave you with this.
I got to go to bed, and she and then
she said it, you gave her one more bush, she
said it. All of a sudden, Miss Alabama goes down
to the final five and shere he goes, I think
she's gonna win. I said, oh no, honey. So anyway,
so I go to bed. I don't see what happens,
(19:45):
and all of a sudden I hear Sherry coming to bed.
I was asleep, of course. Now I'm up for a minute,
and you start adjusting in bed like that, and you think,
do I do? I call out in the darkness, who won?
I'm awake enough to do it. I know it's on
her mind right now. She'd love to share, you know,
but there's a chance therefore, there's a chance I could
be trapped, you know. And now getting to a full
ball on conversation. When I did, I didn't want to
(20:06):
go that far with it.
Speaker 3 (20:07):
You just needed to.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
I wanted one, you know, one body adjustment in the bed.
See if I can get a little snugly, you know,
and go back to sleep. And here she comes moving
in the bed. You know, the beauty of the wonderful
here they come, moving over and getting themselves in the bed. Baby,
Miss Alabama win, No, you're up, And I said, oh,
(20:29):
and they gave it to Miss New York. I said, oh, wow,
this is worse than I thought. I hope it. I
was hoping to go to. I think Miss Georgia was
there in the final five, and you know she's six
foot one, and they talked about that a lot. And
by the way, it's kind of like they used to
tell us last year how Royan Williams was seventeen the
entire season. They must have told us that woman was
six foot one. I just only watch us to go
(20:50):
to only watched it for ten minutes. Now, bet I
heard it four times. Yeah, you know at six foot one,
you know she's six foot one, and you know now
being six foot one. But anyway, here's.
Speaker 2 (20:58):
That moment if you want it, boy, they really milk it.
They milk it.
Speaker 3 (21:03):
What are we doing there?
Speaker 2 (21:04):
My goodness, what they're embracing because.
Speaker 1 (21:06):
Miss Texas up there, like Texas.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
There, Miss Texas byby in Texas.
Speaker 1 (21:11):
Look your new twenty twenty six Miss America, is.
Speaker 2 (21:20):
I get really milking it?
Speaker 1 (21:22):
Come on, my good. I'm Bill Milky. I'm glad you
can hear this New York. Ok.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
She's losing it, you live.
Speaker 1 (21:36):
And then the runner up's got like she's happy for her,
and you know she's not.
Speaker 6 (21:40):
That lady looks like she's you know, been in a
terrible car accident or something.
Speaker 2 (21:44):
But you're talking about what she's crying.
Speaker 1 (21:46):
It's like, my goodness, is Hadler what a statement? Oh
my good? Okay, but he's losing it.
Speaker 2 (21:53):
You're miss America, my good news? Keeping together?
Speaker 1 (21:56):
Then and then and then, when, just when I thought, okay,
let's go on back to sleep, I since miss album
from is Alabama runner up? No fourth alternate?
Speaker 3 (22:04):
Oh I'm sorry, maybe alternate, Yeah, I'm sorry, becomes a commentary.
Speaker 1 (22:08):
But we're gonna have to have Uh, I'm like, guess America,
miss America plus three before she would be off, that
crown ain't gonna stay on her head. Don't forget it.
Speaker 6 (22:17):
The person that's crowning it is the lady from last
year who's from Auburn, Alabama. Her name I forgot her name,
so she was she got some heat for going to
meet Trump in the Oval office.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
Oh yeah, god yeah. But anyway, so that's what I guess.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
They had a chick from Alabama last time, so they
had to go with New York this night. Didn't Trump
I own one to lib.
Speaker 1 (22:39):
Didn't he own Miss Usa?
Speaker 2 (22:40):
He did?
Speaker 1 (22:41):
That's different. That's I get confused on the US.
Speaker 3 (22:45):
One.
Speaker 1 (22:45):
One's doing away with a swimsuit. One's taken even more
oft Oh okay, okay, let me guess one trumped. That's correct.
Speaker 2 (22:51):
Okay, he sold it.
Speaker 1 (22:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (22:53):
Uh, he owned it from ninety six to twenty fifteen.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
Okay, so no longer. That's been a while ago.
Speaker 2 (22:59):
Here it was the Miss Universe organization, and.
Speaker 1 (23:03):
That goes to the Miss Universe, the Miss USA, not
Miss America.
Speaker 2 (23:06):
I think so, yeah, I think you're right.
Speaker 1 (23:08):
I honestly think right now, with everything I'm seeing on TV,
if if there had been a state that was bold enough,
bold enough put a big, a big girl in there,
she'd have one. Oh yeah, absolutely. But nobody was bold
enough to do it that I could tell. So I
was only there there briefly, and you didn't really say
right now, if you want to go to the Miss
America's of the past, now.
Speaker 4 (23:29):
That was different.
Speaker 1 (23:30):
So but it was so And then back to football,
so uh, so back.
Speaker 3 (23:36):
This was last night. So so the Bills and the
Ravens were on and.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
I didn't watch any of that. I was I was
really good. We remember I was back faith. I was
at the committee meeting. Okay, So I came back from
the committee meeting and was just going to go to bed,
and then I found out that she couldn't. She was
when I saw her watching Miss America on her phone.
I'm like, maybe surely Miss America's on the TV. She
was like ninety more and so so so I went
(24:04):
in my phone, my phone, I went and found the
YouTube thing and they watched it on YouTube, which is
weird that Miss America is only on streaming now. But anyway,
now I didn't watch. I saw with Mama. I watched
the Falcons, uh and and the Buccaneers. That's all the NFL.
I saw college. I saw a little bit of Old
(24:25):
miss in Kentucky good game, saw a little bit of
Michigan Oklahoma good game. Uh. And I saw State which
would just celebrate. So I saw. That's all I saw.
So that that so the NFL, even though there were
some you know, I saw some big wins, some important
things happen, you know, some a lot of drama. So
(24:48):
I saw that Aaron Rodgers went back and beat the
Jets in a close game, played pretty well.
Speaker 3 (24:53):
And had like four touchdowns all day, maybe more Brodie's Colts.
Speaker 1 (24:58):
One the coach one big yeah. And I saw they
won like they.
Speaker 3 (25:03):
Was a big surprise. They beat the Dolphins, beat them bad.
Speaker 1 (25:06):
Yeah. Yeah. And it was a little drama there, Yeah,
it didn't like Yeah when that when when the players
got an argument with the coach?
Speaker 3 (25:12):
What? No, that was the Giants, Giants.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
The Giants had some rookie of mouthing off to the coach.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
Yeah, receiver, wasn't it saying give me the ball? Oh,
the Giants have got a decision to make. I mean
Jason dark Is, I mean, he's Jackson Dart. Sorry, he
seems to be the real deal.
Speaker 1 (25:32):
I mean, coming from a state game. No, you, I
mean you're gonna start in my head of I don't know.
Russell Wilson.
Speaker 3 (25:38):
Yeah, I mean, I'm I'm sad you do. But I
mean the offense couldn't really do anything. Washington kind of
owned them, and I don't know, I just wonder, didn't
Wilson the whole time?
Speaker 1 (25:47):
Yeah, the coach seemed to act like he wasn't going
to make a decision right now, but it would be
better let him sit behind somebody from now if you're losing, though.
Speaker 3 (25:55):
Yeah, you know, yeah, but there was there were some
good games in the n.
Speaker 1 (25:59):
F fel it's uh, Dealers and packs. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (26:02):
The but that Bucks and Falcons game you talked about
came down to the end and Jacob Mayfield wow, threw
a touchdown pass.
Speaker 1 (26:09):
About a minute that was watching that with mom, did it?
Does it hurt you though? That the Falcons with only
like thirty seconds took it all the way down. Maybe
it was a little more than that, Maybe it's forty
seven seconds. They took it down the field and got
their self into field goal range and then the guns
and actually and and they bring in areas as we
talk about it. Yeah, yeah, they bring in young Foo
(26:30):
and uh and he uh he misses it. Yeah, he
rarely misses. Yeah. Of course of course they were talking
about how good he Yeah, the announcer had to make
sure we knew that before about kids of death, right.
Speaker 3 (26:41):
Yeah. So see, And it is weird because you know,
we're all about college football here and we've pretty outspoken
about that. But for the rest of the rest of
the country. It's NFL, NFL, NFL, NFL, but we're more
focused on Saturdays and Sundays.
Speaker 1 (26:56):
Really, I don't pretend to to care that much about
the end NFL, but but it did happen this weekend,
so I didn't want to mention it. But college right now,
you know, those are the games we mentioned were really
the only one only ones of really any significance. Now,
Clemson got in trouble with Troy, but but came back
to win long weather delay. And then of course Florida
(27:17):
getting beat by South Florida. That's I mean South Florida.
I mean, I understand that Florida's supposed to win that game,
but it's not like getting beat by, you know, a
small school or something like that. But I understand. So
right now, it's Ohio State one, Penn State two, LSU three,
Oregon got upset and really Oregon really took out Oklahoma State.
(27:39):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, they you know, you know, they
got mad because apparently Gundhy said something about their forty
eight million dollar roster last year that you know, and
he said he was really trying to be complimentary, but
somehow they took it and they had a battle cry
So Oregon drilled Oklahoma State sixty nine to three. Right
(27:59):
and in Miami is at four, Georgia six, Texas seven,
Notre Dame eight, Illinois nine. In Florida State moves to ten.
Speaker 3 (28:10):
Speaking of Texas, arch Manning has he always.
Speaker 1 (28:13):
Thrown the ball? Apparently? I guess what side on him
again this week?
Speaker 3 (28:17):
So?
Speaker 1 (28:17):
Was that his thing he's always done that? I guess
he's Bernie Cozar.
Speaker 6 (28:21):
There were some shots of slow mo where you can
see him almost wincing when he's letting go of the ball.
Speaker 2 (28:26):
Had a good game, though, what was it hard? Four?
Was it four touchdowns? I thought, yeah, I had a
great game.
Speaker 6 (28:32):
But there's some weird replays that I saw over the
weekend where arch Manning's face doesn't look right as he's
letting go of the ball.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
Interesting. We'll be right back. Greig is gone to grand
grandparents breakfast at his granddaughter's four K class today. He'll
be back. Papa, come eat breakfast with me, Papa, Papa?
(29:00):
Why you look some mean? Papa? Okay? So oh his
heart will be so big, Oh my goodness, Papa, Papa,
Why don't you like that? Papa?
Speaker 7 (29:11):
Well?
Speaker 1 (29:11):
Do you think they'll give them to eat. I hope
they don't. You know, grey can be picky, they can.
But so he'll just sit there and watching me, right,
so probably not so Mayor and his granddaughter is having
grandparents breakfast. So Greg has left the show. He's gonna
do that and then he'll be back.
Speaker 3 (29:24):
Yeah, he'll be right back.
Speaker 1 (29:25):
Come on over here and have breakfast with me. Papa, Papa. Yeah,
so that's Oh, I'm so glad you came, papa. Uh so.
Uh So, anyway, did go over the weekend? Mentioned it
in the first hour. Some of you may missed it.
I wanted to say you're welcome to all the people
(29:47):
who made their way to the Tinglewood Festival and beautiful
Mona Valle, Alabama. Ye, what a beautiful place it is.
Apparently this festival's background involves changed all art. And as
you see me there as the ambassador for Alabama laughed
out loud at that pit for the Simi Quinn Centennial. Notice,
(30:08):
I have a new I have a new shirt, and
I have on the Uncle Sam hat. It's a good shirt.
It is a good shirt, good logo two hundred and fifty.
Now I mentioned earlier and I won't go back and
revisit that if you don't want me to. I did
leave there realizing that we no longer teach American history
and kids and too many adults have no idea the
(30:30):
history of the country. And I'm going to tell you
the questions that were being asked to get people a
chance to spend their little tiny will.
Speaker 3 (30:38):
So you had a little will, little tiny will, and
then if you got okay, and if you got the
question right, you could.
Speaker 1 (30:44):
Spin, you could spend all right, And so a lot
of children wanted to spend. That's fine, But there were
people that were far too old, far too old, deep
into school, junior high, in high school, and adults that
could not answered the basic questions. Guys, can I give
you the questions? I can? There weren't many of them.
(31:06):
Here's something that stand out here, here's.
Speaker 2 (31:07):
You come up with the questions. So they gave you question.
Speaker 1 (31:11):
The American village came up with the questions. Okay. Now
I started riffing because mys we couldn't get.
Speaker 2 (31:17):
Well, do that speedy.
Speaker 1 (31:18):
You would have turned into a bowlu jelly.
Speaker 3 (31:20):
Okay, faked the phone call and walked up by the way,
and I'm sorry excuse me.
Speaker 1 (31:24):
Hello, and Melanie, Melanie who was from American village, She
was no nonsense.
Speaker 6 (31:31):
Can this picture here where you're talking to this little girl, like,
are you saying it looks like you're saying, now, explain
why the Second Amendment is so important?
Speaker 1 (31:38):
Yeah, now that didn't happen. I was asking something really difficult.
Who was the first President of the United States?
Speaker 2 (31:43):
Okay, gotcha?
Speaker 1 (31:43):
Yeah? Red face there. I could see how hot you
are from it. You know, sometimes when a picture says everything,
that little red face right there. The yeah, I couldn't
believe when someone answered Donald Trump one time, but it's
not true. All right. So the question, the one, the
one that the percentage of people that got this one
right was about one percent. Who was the second President
(32:05):
of the United States? That it stumped everybody. Nobody knew
John Adams, all right, who wrote the Declaration of Independence.
Can't get anybody get that one right. My favorite answer
still will be Martin Luther King Jr. Okay, you try
to help him like.
Speaker 7 (32:21):
This.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
Had one guy who was who argued with us that
it was John Hancock, And I said, just because he
had to be in the biggest signature, he didn't right, it. Yeah,
Thomas Jefferson pretty sure on that one.
Speaker 3 (32:35):
It was a committee.
Speaker 1 (32:36):
But you name two of the original thirteen colonies, that
was a blood bath. I mean the they didn't a
lot of them even know what a colony was. Okay,
it was I had to say, there are states that
are still happening, just take a shot, okay. And the
answer that was wrong the most Washington. They just threw
(32:59):
Washington in there, and uh, I said that, I know
you don't mean Washington State. You're probably talking about the
district of Columbia, not an original colony. It's a district
we came up with on the capitol. But if you
had just hit me with Virginia, you get have been great.
Didn't know that. Uh. It was how many stripes are
(33:19):
on the flag? Up ended quite a few, how many
stars on the flag? Alarming number of wrong answers.
Speaker 3 (33:29):
Did anybody get to spind uh?
Speaker 1 (33:31):
Oh yeah, yeah. Eventually we started giving partials, we started helping. Yeah,
we would give multiple guesses.
Speaker 2 (33:40):
The what's efforts saw a dad come.
Speaker 1 (33:44):
Dad come completely unglued that his son did not know
American history and began to scream that all they're doing
is to teaching my son how to take tests and
not teaching me anything. Couldn't he couldn't believe your son
didn't know it. You know what I said. We got
American village, we got all the resources. Maybe you want
you just gonna to teach to him. Schools aren't going
to no surprise here. The homeschooling private kids did much
(34:07):
better than the government school kids, straight up, straight up.
But they were lacking more than I expected. And but
but there was a low percentage, But it was. It
was an alarming day for our country. But it was,
but it was a lot of fun. What was Gary's
commentary on that, Hey, let me tell you something, These
kids don't know nothing. And I was Gary loud, you're
(34:27):
real loud. Yeah, he'll say it in front of them.
He did that. I'm pretty sure that kids crying, Hey
had little Hey fella, you don't know nothing. Hey, okay,
don't say that, And you know, just give me the
walk around, Gary, Yeah, how many more chance you're gonna
give him? What is this? That's what's wrong in our
country right here? So here's Gary? Uh is this the
Turkey one? I think they're there? So they were doing
(34:49):
all kinds of art with chainsaws, and and here's Gary
and I going over with the chain.
Speaker 2 (34:54):
So is that what that beaver is in the back?
That's that's chainsaw art.
Speaker 1 (34:58):
Wow, we thought the art would be more patriotic than
it was. But go ahead, what's this guy making? He's
making a turkey?
Speaker 3 (35:10):
Look at that?
Speaker 1 (35:12):
Really loud? Yeah? So Gary, could you think you could
do that with a chainsaw? Al? You're probably take me huh?
Speaker 3 (35:25):
You know, Gary, you think so loud even though that's.
Speaker 1 (35:28):
A wooden when if you had your call with a girl.
He's come out fact dumb.
Speaker 2 (35:31):
He's come out fact dumb.
Speaker 1 (35:34):
That's good, Harry, here's got a frog talk on. Well, like.
Speaker 3 (35:40):
Gary is being bald and getting hot. It's tough because
the sweat just pours down your face.
Speaker 1 (35:47):
And he was soaking with my favorite nature for how
many states are sixty?
Speaker 3 (35:53):
Sixty?
Speaker 1 (35:53):
Had that? Where'd they come up with that? Sixty? And
remember I told Joe we had people and we asked
when we signed the deck Ration of Independence, they threw
out various nineteen hundred dates, had a nineteen seventy six,
which was close sort of that one at night had
somebody tell us the country was fifty years old while
you had a two hundred and fifty shirt on and
(36:15):
had a person didn't know the state bird while wearing
an eagle on their shirt. Okay, so not state bird,
our national work. I'm sorry, I got it? What is
our national bird symbol? It was all over the logo
and all over the persons shirt and they couldn't get it.
Speaker 2 (36:34):
So yeah, but yellowhammer.
Speaker 1 (36:38):
Yeah, but anyway, it was, it was It was interesting.
Here is someone who was actually making something patriotic. Oh
this was an actual eagle head, which was very impressive.
By the way, Here at the single what so what
an't you working all like them?
Speaker 6 (36:57):
You're pressing the saw?
Speaker 2 (36:58):
What are y'all making that?
Speaker 1 (37:02):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (37:05):
Look at that eagle?
Speaker 1 (37:06):
Is it almost benis? We're about the saw? You got
her fixing the salt.
Speaker 3 (37:11):
On you didn't work?
Speaker 1 (37:14):
Let me say that right there. Let's take a look
at it.
Speaker 2 (37:17):
That really is impressive. So many chainsaws.
Speaker 1 (37:27):
All right? Look at that?
Speaker 3 (37:29):
How about the sound of a chainsaw? Somebody means business?
Speaker 1 (37:32):
They know?
Speaker 3 (37:33):
Did could they tell you were handy when you were
walking around?
Speaker 1 (37:36):
I could I notice that? You know you don't hear anything.
That's me asking anything to me to help them to
fix the chainsaw? Yeah, I pulled out a Phillips said screwdriver.
They just stared at him. I said, tell you what's
wrong with dy? Righty right? And then there's a real
short one and this is Gary talking about bringing his dog,
bringing his dog. Honey. I think that's the last message.
(37:56):
Let's say, Yeah, that's it. I did it, brought my
dog that a lot of healthy brought there lot of dogs.
Speaker 3 (38:08):
Now he didn't call it Dingleberry all all the all day, didn't.
Speaker 1 (38:11):
He Hey, let's gonna meet mister dingle I said, tingle
all right.
Speaker 6 (38:16):
So they've got all these chainsaw artists carving up wood.
And then I noticed there were nets all around.
Speaker 3 (38:23):
I guess these people can't call themselves that.
Speaker 1 (38:25):
Nobody didn't nobody knows how to act.
Speaker 3 (38:26):
That had just walked right into it. Wow, spit of
your favorite is smarter them to do that?
Speaker 1 (38:31):
Your favorite were people that weren't familiar with with me
as far as on site and thought I worked with
American Village and started asking me questions about phil troops.
So let's take a moment to thank you, uh for
being part of what we do here and for supporting

(40:07):
So I got a few comments on this that some
of you may not like, but I think if you'll
listen to me, I think I'm being reasonable on this
about the proper balance. But I know in the times
you're living in proper balance not all that popular anymore. Well,
I woke up on Saturday and as we're getting ready
(40:28):
to go to the big festival and all that by
the way side, some of y'all at the festival that
asked me questions about the American Village because you thought
I worked it there, because I was at the booth.
I don't know why I didn't just tell you that
I'm there as the ambassador and I'm with the show,
(40:48):
and I started trying to answer your questions. I don't
know what that is about us. Speedy has a little
bit of this too, We both do. I don't know why.
We just want to come clean and sometimes and say, hey,
we're the wrong person to ask. We start trying to
do it.
Speaker 3 (41:00):
A minute when you start answering questions that you knew
I did, and uh, their office is going to open
up today, like sorry, what?
Speaker 1 (41:07):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (41:07):
I met a man there at the at the festival.
Speaker 1 (41:09):
Because I was like, somebody said, hey, may can I
ask you something? Double said, I'm a fan of the show. Yes,
how can I help you? You probably have a deep
question about the show, maybe the guys on the show.
Maybe you'd like to ask me something? Sure, go right ahead.
Are y'll gonna do anything Christmas at America? I mean
American Village for Christmas? Oh gosh, they think I work
for American Village. Yes, yes, we will, Yes we will.
Speaker 2 (41:29):
Is that accurate?
Speaker 1 (41:30):
So what exactly y'all going to do? It's going to
be at the festival and festive And then I say,
and then I would say, I don't know, he didn't know.
I would say, go to American Village dot orgon I
don't even know if it was supposed to be dot
com dot org and get all the information about what
we'll be doing at Christmas.
Speaker 3 (41:47):
And you did it with a straight face, like you
knew you'll.
Speaker 1 (41:50):
Do that one time out. He'll improv a lot. Can
I ask you? Someone? Will independence hall open the new
one that's open right now? Somebody's going to show up.
And they said, I thought there was some kind of
ground up in this week. There is, but it's already open.
To tell me a little bit about it. Impressive, it's
a very impressive. If you haven't been there, it's impressive.
Speaker 2 (42:14):
It actually is American village dot org.
Speaker 3 (42:16):
Oh that's good. Well he ought to be able to
say that. He's said it.
Speaker 1 (42:18):
Enough's Christmas looking, why not just point and go?
Speaker 2 (42:23):
You know what?
Speaker 3 (42:23):
You see that lady there, miss Melanie, she's so sweet.
Speaker 1 (42:26):
She talk to her, should run off to get something.
And I was there at the boot by myself and
it's just me and Gary well Gary Dock. No, no,
he didn't know. So anyway, let's go back to Philly's carts. Okay, check.
Speaker 3 (42:36):
You woke up Saturday morning, fired up about the fired up.
Speaker 1 (42:39):
And then you check social media, go on social media,
and I'm like, let me check our stuff. I was
getting ready to put strange encounters out by the way,
episode thirteen, come on is out. I was gonna put
that out on my social media. And I receive, of course,
my assignment. We must destroy Philly's Karen. And I don't
know who she is. I don't have any idea, but
I'm alred being told by the social media. Here she is,
(43:00):
let's go get her, Let's go get it. So I
didn't know who this person was. I didn't know what
was going on. But here's the video of the incident
that happened at the Marlins Phillies game.
Speaker 2 (43:13):
There's the there's the tussle right there. So there, here's
the entire there's.
Speaker 1 (43:17):
The foul mall.
Speaker 3 (43:18):
She's hit the left field, there's not a lot of people.
Speaker 1 (43:19):
There's a home run. Yeah. So there she's reaching for
it and this guy grabs it from He comes over
from his seat pretty good distance, not a crazy distance,
brings it back to his son that we'll all find
out later. She comes over. I think his reaction to her,
he looked a little. I thought his over he acted
like she's.
Speaker 2 (43:38):
Trying to be funny.
Speaker 1 (43:38):
I hope.
Speaker 2 (43:39):
So I think he was trying to be fun I hope.
Speaker 1 (43:40):
He was being funny, not that afraid of a woman.
But she's she's giving the bits. He gives her the
ball back, says just forget it, and she walks off
with with her home run. Ball is a Philly Yeah.
And then my favorite Babylon b Phillies fan shot the
nation by acting like a Phillies fan. Yeah, which is hilarious.
Speaker 3 (44:03):
And I think because I know where you're I think
we can break this up into different categories. First of all,
just a home run ball. I'm so tired of people
thinking that's my ball. No, it's anybody's ball until it's gotten.
Just because everybody puts their hand down and we're all
going for it, that doesn't mean you did get to
declare that was mine. Now really, and so everybody was
(44:28):
going down. She went down, he went down to get it.
There's actually another fan that comes over, he's a little late,
and he comes up with the ball, goes to give
it with his son. I think that's one category. And
this is in the first time we've had this discussion
a lot. Well, now that was their ball, they got
there first or whatever. You should be ripping it out
of kids hands. But if it's adults going after it,
(44:49):
I mean, you know, and he was getting it for
his kid.
Speaker 1 (44:52):
I don't think there's.
Speaker 3 (44:53):
Any anybody at fault on that front. But that's a
separate I mean, that's just one part of this whole narrative.
Rick not going after her personally, but just the whole
thing of no, that's my ball.
Speaker 1 (45:03):
Well, no, it's not, you know, and that's why that's
when part somebody said it was a grand slam.
Speaker 3 (45:07):
Okay, I don't know.
Speaker 6 (45:08):
I just it's the uh really, the rule is you
hold it up. It's yours, right, You're not gonna we're
not gonna have somebody holding it up in the air
and you snatch it out of their hand. But it's
really the first person. From everything that I can see,
I'm looking for multiple angles of this that dad was
the first person to really have possession of the ball.
Speaker 1 (45:28):
So and yeah, well yeah, I think there's, like you said,
there's different categories, and we're gonna try that. I hope
everybody get track split it up here. I hope I
can track with it here because I am going to
say something that I think some of you are not
gonna like. But that's all right, you know. I'm still
gonna try to always stand on what I think the
truth is, whether it's popular or not. If you can't
(45:49):
do that, you can have a real hard time, you know,
being a person of faith, because it's offensive to everybody.
Uh but that's much more important than this. But but
I do want to talk about something that I don't
like about audience and beyond her behavior. Yes, okay, her
behavior is I don't like it, no doubt about that. Okay,
so we're fine. I don't think she acted well. But
here's the good news for the kid. I thought the
(46:10):
dad also, I hope he's kidding around with that little
reaction as when she comes over. I hope he's making
fun of her, not that scared.
Speaker 2 (46:17):
I thought he was making fun of her.
Speaker 6 (46:19):
And people were like saying that the guy was like
truly afraid of the lady and kind of ripping on
the dad.
Speaker 2 (46:24):
I think he was messing with her, going, oh, putting
his dukes up order.
Speaker 1 (46:27):
I kind of thought so too. I agree with you.
I don't think he should get any flak. But so
the the Marlins, from what I can gather because it
was at the Marlin Stadium, they brought the kid all
kinds of stuff.
Speaker 3 (46:41):
Yeah, they did.
Speaker 1 (46:42):
I found out it was his birthday coming up. I
hear the girl ask, I heard it your birthday, and
he says, well, not today, but in the next few days.
So they give him a whole I think he got
all kinds of stuff from from the Marlins. Yes, And
then I understand there's even been Philly players.
Speaker 3 (46:58):
Yeah, there's also a picture of I think he met
with them afterwards or something.
Speaker 2 (47:02):
Signed bat and everything.
Speaker 1 (47:03):
Yeah. Yea, so he the kid came out of this
like a birthday kink.
Speaker 2 (47:08):
Did you hear that? The the dad got an r
V as well? Did y'all hear that?
Speaker 1 (47:12):
What?
Speaker 2 (47:12):
Yes, I'm serious.
Speaker 1 (47:14):
He didn't get an r V.
Speaker 2 (47:16):
Yes, yes he did.
Speaker 6 (47:17):
The Phillies dad got an r V from like the
owner of somebody I'll find it in the world.
Speaker 1 (47:26):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (47:27):
They got an invitation to the World series and a
new r V from Marcus Lamanis, who owns Camping World.
Speaker 2 (47:33):
So it's the Camping World guy that.
Speaker 6 (47:35):
He saw all this here is uh here he is
getting that signed back too, by the way, So hey,
dad worked out for the dad got himself an r V,
and the kid got a signed BAT.
Speaker 1 (47:44):
Ye. The kid actually got a better experience than he
would have gotten if the woman had just left it alone.
That's that's I want nobody to remember that. Yeah, because
what I'm gonna say when I come back, some of
you aren't gonna like, but I think we've got to
start speaking to another part of this, and if we don't,
when it ends up being you, and we've experienced this
(48:06):
a little bit, you're gonna feel differently. Some of what
we're doing we shouldn't be doings reckless, and we'll talk
about that when we come back. Now, let me be clear,
I know some of you out there. Everything's emotion to
you and you can't you can't reason anymore. We have
been very clear that the way the woman acted about it,
(48:27):
she shouldn't have done. That's right, and she cast herself
in a bad life here and the kid was taken
care of and all that's been resolved. But there was
another part that I didn't like the way I felt
over the weekend. We'll be right back. So Philly's Karen
now again, hear me. Everybody's settled. Bad behavior from the
(48:54):
woman kids. Fine, I don't think I think it's unfair
to judge the dad. I thought that dad handed well,
and I think he was actually being a smart eleic
not really afraid of her, okay, but he didn't want
to escalate it. So all that's over here. There's a
trend out there that's really bothering me because we kind
of know what this feels like, not to this level,
(49:17):
and it's dangerous. We got to be real careful with
our social media power that we think we're now the
mob with the burning torches, and we wake up every
day waiting to be instructed on whose life we will
now destroy. And I don't like it. I been in
some of it. When misinformation gets out there, and what
(49:39):
happens is people escalate, you know, and you get things
like things we've been through this year, like death threats
and people want to harm you. And because there's a
lot of crazy people out there, and when you take
your social media and you work people into a frenzy,
it's dangerous. Okay, you may think it's all in good fun.
Let's destroy Philly's care in today he was mean to
(50:00):
a kid about a home run bought and before you,
I mean, I had my assignment. I was told I
didn't know who this one was, and I saw things
like that, let's go get her, let's ruin her life,
Let's make her pay for this. That's dangerous, dangerous, dangerous, reckless. Now,
I don't know if this is true or not. We
(50:21):
tried to research it on the show today, and all
it's saying is it's being reported that she has been
fired from her job as a new Jersey school administrator.
Now that's the latest this has been reported. Now, whether
that's true or not, we'll need the New Jersey school
board to confirm that. But they're saying it's true. And
(50:43):
the reason why is that kids saw all the social
media post and they begin to go on Facebook and
on social media. They said Facebook, but I don't think
kids go on Facebook, maybe as their parents, but anyway,
they went on social media saying this woman was wicked
and evil and they didn't want her to be part
of their school anymore, okay, And basically the school administration,
(51:04):
the school administration said, hey, we don't need somebody hear
that the kids and the parents are all mad at
I don't know that we need to live in a
world to where if somebody catches you in a bad moment,
they can go on to social media and say, let's
destroy Rick today and everybody goes I don't even have
the details of this, but I'm in and before you
(51:26):
know it, you know, you have your life being torn
apart in the public arena. And sometimes people don't even
know what happened. Should she have behaved the way she did,
probably not. Should her life be destroyed over it? I
think that. I don't think the punishment fits the crime.
(51:47):
Now I don't know whether she really has been let go,
maybe not, But I'll tell you this, her life has
been turned upside down, whether she got fired or not.
Speaker 2 (51:54):
That absolutely is true.
Speaker 6 (51:55):
It does look like that the school system has come
forward with a statement trying to shut down the rumor
that her name has been made public. So they do
have the right name. She was not fired. She does
not even work for the Hemmington Public School located in Hammington,
New Jersey. So social media reports that she is. That's
(52:17):
not correct. So I saw that everywhere too, and there's
tons of articles having to get rid of that rumor.
Speaker 1 (52:24):
Yeah, well so now people don't even know then where
she works. But now she's been made a public figure
who is a private citizen. Over I was mean to
a little boy at a baseball game, and now I
am the vile of the earth. Now we have a
guy who's been arrested fourteen times, seventeen times that just
(52:44):
rises up and stabs an innocent woman in the neck
and slaughters her on a train in Charlotte. Now we
can't get anybody. Now, we can't seem to get any
information on that and this person. You know how we're
picking and choosing the things that we want to stand
up against. But the bottom line is social media is
(53:05):
very dangerous and it is destroying people's lives. We have
suicide rates that are through the roof right now because
people do things like this to teenagers over something at school.
And this is this is this is an angry mob
mentality that I think is extremely dangerous. Look, I don't
(53:27):
like the way the woman acted with the kid, but
her life should not be destroyed over that. And before
you know what, the dad who is supposed to be
in this someone Now everybody in the world is, you know,
debating whether he's emasculated or not because of the way
he responded, And we're all going to weigh in on that.
These are real people who have private lives that went
(53:50):
to a ballgame and you happen to catch them on
your phone and now you're taking them out into the
public arena where mental health is at an all time high,
and you're destroying their lives and it's ugly to me.
I didn't I didn't take the assignment. I didn't retweet
any of it. I didn't like being a sign that
(54:10):
I was supposed to destroy people's lives. Saturday, it was
odd over something that happened at a baseball game.
Speaker 6 (54:16):
It was very odd seeing people saying, Okay, Twitter, you
know what to do. Let's find this lady and make
her famous and all this stuff. And you're just like, yeah,
it was bad behavior, but don't take time out of
your life to try to ruin another person's that.
Speaker 2 (54:27):
This doesn't make sense.
Speaker 1 (54:28):
Yeah, that's exactly what the assignment was at. Let's let's
let's take the social media and listen and let'sten let's
get let's make this woman pay for being means a
little boy over at home run ball. I mean, people
are not even involved. I mean, and not just it's dangerous. Look,
look we've been through it. I mean I've had situations
even before this last one, where people had misinformation on
(54:51):
me about the truck that oh yeah yeah yeah, and
once I once I tried to go out and say,
by the way, that information is not right. Oh I'm sorry,
I didn't. I didn't mean to drag your name through
the mud without information. Sorry about that. Well, thanks, That'll
take me forever over the people that just saw your post, right,
you know, because people just like the press. People are
(55:13):
always willing to go after you. But then when you
try to tell them they need to straighten out their
false information about you, they're not near as passionate about that. Right.
They don't like to go back and clarify. They just stop. No,
it would help I you to go back and clarify
what you said was wrong. This is dangerous, dangerous stuff.
Speaker 3 (55:30):
The video to your point, Rick, the video speaks for itself.
You can obviously see who's like. You don't like that,
that's fine, and just let it sit there. But now,
and you're I mean, you're this is a fresh word.
You're really talking about something that has gotten out of
a hand on social media, where we pick and choose
who we're going after to destroy their lives. No, you
know they might have acted right, but that don't mean
(55:52):
their life should be destroyed.
Speaker 1 (55:53):
Now, you do have a right to privacy. When people
throw you out on social media and say let's destroy
you today, I don't care where you now. Now, we
do have a right not to be treated that way.
I agree to disagree with you.
Speaker 4 (56:04):
Texture is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 1 (56:12):
Have a right to your to your own opinion. I
just hope it doesn't ever happen to you, you know,
and I hope, I hope you have a never have
a bad moment in life or words. People start something
that's not even true about you, and that starts and
before you do. I just hope it doesn't happen to you.
Some people say, so you didn't have this kind of
energy when the thing happened to Coplay concert. See that
(56:34):
this is the problem with our society. Surely you can
discern the difference in a CEO of a company with
the HR person at a Coplay concert getting caught on
the big screen. Do I think it was horrible that
his his family had to go through what they went
through publicly? I do, But I do think there's quite
(56:58):
a difference in somebody in that situation, who's got the
HR person out on the date, who's married with kids,
who you know is the CEO of a company, and
a woman who went over and took a asked for a
ball back at a at a baseball game. Someone also said,
what you do in front of fifty thousand people that's public?
(57:18):
Well you must not know about the Marlings. Ain't never
had fifty thousand people in a game, but.
Speaker 3 (57:22):
It was pretty empty. You might the guy was able
to run down his aisle and get the ball with
no problem. He didn't have to say, excuse me, you
might have you.
Speaker 1 (57:29):
Might have done that in front of five thousand people.
But uh, but you know, it's like, we don't have this.
And then this person say, well, don't don't act like
a whatever at a ball game. You're wrong on this, Ricky, Okay,
I just disagree with you. I don't think the punishment
fits the crime. Yeah, I think, I think, and I
hope it doesn't ever happen to you, because if it does,
(57:50):
you would we We got to be careful. This social
media stuff is reckless. Like Speedy said, somebody want to
be at the game, somebody want to put the woman
say wow, I think this woman look at her over here,
and the dad just gives the ball up and then
leaves it. But that's not what happened. Now. What happens
is now we send out the assignment. Let's destroy this
(58:12):
person today. Hey, mob, let's get our torches and let's
not just sit there and go, wow, that's not very
good behavior. She shouldn't act like that. She must be destroyed.
Let's make her. Let's take her to the whole world.
And if y'all think that's not dangerous, that's fine. That's
your own opinion. But of course there's a lot of
people that agree. But probably I just hope it doesn't
(58:34):
happen to you, or to your children, or to someone
that two things either just had a bad moment, but
it doesn't really speak to their overall character or worse,
people are saying things about them that's not even true,
And well, I think we will and those things do happen,
and they happen because we have this bloods and blood
(58:57):
and guts mentality and we were we've gotten in this world.
It's not real anymore and we don't understand the things
that that are that are happening to people over something
as silly as social media, which was supposed to be
something that would help us with information, supposed to be fun,
and now is it is wielded as a weapon, not
(59:20):
just against people we have some extra grind with against
people we don't even know. And if you think that's okay,
that's that's your your We'll just have to agree to
disagree on that one. But that's all right. We don't
have to agree on everything. But but I'm just telling you.
Speaker 2 (59:37):
This isn't gonna help, Rick, This isn't gonna help. There
was another fan in the area.
Speaker 6 (59:43):
She gets up and gets in it another person's face,
and then she flicks off everybody all around her.
Speaker 3 (59:48):
Yeah, did you see you talking about the gentleman that
was sitting down as she went over there? And yeah,
she got her finger in his face and she was
giving him the business.
Speaker 1 (59:56):
And I did not like it.
Speaker 6 (59:57):
I did find another angle of the scramble, and I
cannot see any footage of her with her hand on
the ball, So that, to me is the big issue.
Did she ever have the ball in her hand and
the dad ripped it out of it? Because then I
would be mad too. But I cannot find a single
single frame. But does that mean we need to wreck.
Speaker 1 (01:00:21):
This lady? And I try to make that clear. We
have to split the top. I never said the woman's
behavior was something to be applauded absolutely or something to
that it's okay or was appropriate, and didn't say that.
Some of y'all can't seem to separate the two things
we got to. Yeah, but I'm maybe can y'all just
join me on can we be a little more responsible
(01:00:43):
with social media? On destroying people's lives? Can can y'all?
Can y'all, especially if we shoot ready aim, just let
it go out there. I didn't like thee that I was.
I was told as I woke up on Saturday, Rick,
we need you to help us destroy a person who
you've ever met. Okay, I'm in. I mean it's let
me let me see if I can't send that out
(01:01:05):
to the social media platform. I got and say something
mean about her and and hopefully we'll destroy our life
today because that kid only ended up with an autographed
bat from the Phillies and all kinds of free stuff,
and the dad got an r V. We must stop
this woman, I mean today.
Speaker 2 (01:01:21):
Now, I did think it was over the line.
Speaker 6 (01:01:23):
I did think it was over the line when they
were handing the boy the sign bat and the lady
ran up and said, hey, that's my back too.
Speaker 2 (01:01:31):
I thought that was not appropriate, right right?
Speaker 1 (01:01:34):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:01:34):
Did you see these?
Speaker 6 (01:01:37):
Her outfit, unfortunately, is for her look is very recognizable,
and people are saying that Spirit Halloween has a Phillies
fan costume ready to roll with the black and white?
Speaker 1 (01:01:49):
Ready, because we have to do that. We got to
be sure that she can never show her face.
Speaker 6 (01:01:53):
Again, I think that's not really from spirit, but it's
funny by this.
Speaker 1 (01:01:57):
Also they said to really punish the woman she got
a bat, but it was autograph from the Chicago White Sox.
Speaker 4 (01:02:04):
White Sox.
Speaker 1 (01:02:09):
Ya.
Speaker 2 (01:02:10):
It's so funny.
Speaker 6 (01:02:10):
People are like assembling footage and here's the slow mom
from an angle I just found in. Look, she has
her phone in one hand and the dad has the ball,
and that's that's it. That fair is fair all, it's
all fair. And in the scramble for the ball until
somebody's got their hands.
Speaker 3 (01:02:25):
On, you know, going after a loose ball or whatever.
That has been the debate for a long time. This
is in the first it is. It is free game
until it's gotten.
Speaker 2 (01:02:34):
You know, if it's balancing somebody.
Speaker 3 (01:02:37):
And if you're a grown adult and there's a child there,
obviously you know, hey, the kid gets it, and there's
something less and you're in this situation you're getting it
for your own kid. But the video speaks for itself.
I think we can discuss the who has it, how
she acted and the video. That's one discussion. But then
attacking her and saying she should be real, and that's
(01:03:00):
another discussion, And that's really where we're landing is it's
social media.
Speaker 1 (01:03:03):
It's kind of scary. We just can we could we
at least can I can at least try this? And
I agree with you texture some of you're saying even
the coplay thing felt a little. It did, and even
after I watched where it went, I thought, I mean,
we all kind of went for blood on that one too,
didn't it. It's just it's just a bad, bad trend.
It really is. But could we do this? And let's
(01:03:25):
try this? And I think we all could agree. Can
we be as mad at the cold blooded murderer on
on the public transportation in Charlotte who just killed somebody
in cold blood? Can we can we be as upset
with them and whoever it was that murdered the woman
who was just out for a walk in Auburn with
(01:03:46):
her dog? Can we can we be as mad at
them as we are at the at the Phillies female?
Can we be just as mad?
Speaker 2 (01:03:54):
Can we?
Speaker 1 (01:03:55):
Can we have the same passion to bring justice to
these people that were killed in cold blood as we
wanted to bring justice to the dad and his boy
over the baseball Can we at least can we just
look how about this. Let's all destroy her if y'all
want to, but let's also be upset about these two
cold blood murders. Could we do that just the same
(01:04:15):
passion that that would be great? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:04:17):
Well, and you're not going to get.
Speaker 1 (01:04:19):
And some of the other things in our country and
our society that we need to address. But thank goodness,
we stop the mean woman at at the Marlins Phillies game.
And who even wants to be at a Marlins game? Okay, so,
but thank goodness. I mean, we're gonna bring her to justice,
but can we at least bring everybody else to justice?
Speaker 2 (01:04:38):
Too?
Speaker 1 (01:04:39):
Can I try that one?
Speaker 6 (01:04:40):
Yeah, you're not going to get AP News or New
York Times to care about either of those cases. Rick
at this time there there is there is zero about
either of those cases on AP news or the New
York Times.
Speaker 1 (01:04:52):
Unbelievable that that's crazy. All right, So we'll be back.
So there you go. U enjoy that one. And if
y'all didn't like what I said, get on social media
and destroy my life today too. Have fun with him.
We'll be right back. Okay, Ladies, listen up, listen up,

Grandparents Breakfast. It's been a busy week. Yesterday we had
(01:06:20):
grandparents breakfast at church for paces group. Oh boy, Today
we got Maren's and then tomorrow is Ellis. So they've
just stacked. Now they're at school though those are not
at church. Therese are at school. Wow, there's this variety
of grandparents basically they get you into the book fair
and you buy stuff. That's right coming, get a sausage,
biscuit and some grids. Did you really did breakfast wimming? Papa? Yeah?
(01:06:44):
Pretty good, papa, Papa? Why do you eat so fast?
Was Maren glad to see you? Yeah? She was, Papa,
Thanks for coming she I know she's in what was
it called pre K four K? Four year old four K?
It's hard to believe you. That was called four something
like that. She thanks for coming over here, Papa. That's right.
I'm gonna give me a twenty Yeah, I got some books.
(01:07:06):
And then you know, Papa slowed down that biscuit. It
ain't going nowhere, Papa. You don't breathe when you eat.
Why are you scarfing that day? Who's going to take
it from you? Biscuit didn't have a chance, You're right?
Why for this gritch in your beard? Okay for a minute,
(01:07:29):
but I heard the verdict on the way in. Did
you hear that dog situation? The whole situation? He said
he you would be his only hope. Well, look here's
the deal and then my life. Here's what would have happened.
First of all, I mean, Lisa's gonna get the puppies
and then she's gonna play them with people. So she's
really good at that. First of all, though, kind of
(01:07:49):
the same mistake I made. Why was the one not fixed?
I don't know if the other one was.
Speaker 3 (01:07:53):
Yeah, that's the question they're asking the might he might
have just did what you told Lisa, and I'll get
her fixed and then you never do.
Speaker 1 (01:08:00):
That's probably what it was. But like I said, Lisa
would definitely have we would have we would have had
more puppies. Well here's what you hope for. She don't
have eight or nine like I dealt with last time.
There's a good selling point when you're giving these way.
They do have champion squirrel dog in them, right, you
can talk about that. Hey, I'm giving you a puppy
that's actually got championship breed in it. I'm just trying
to think. But yeah, at our in our home, that
(01:08:21):
would have been just like it was last time, except
the difference is that the mom at least she'll be
one hundred percent, we hope, and I don't have the
bottle feet all. Yeah. So but you're saying that adds
say I've had a dog with a bunch of puppies
that could feed them. Big difference when you're having to
feed them.
Speaker 3 (01:08:38):
Yeah, huge if you're down there sitting with them.
Speaker 1 (01:08:41):
So it's legally she would not be open to let's
go the vet so we can no way, no way, okay,
box and give them out, but she would play something
like you, but she would not be open to stop
in the breakers. No okay, So lance you three to one,
but you still got the verdict you want or maybe
you didn't want. I don't know. And that's what That's
(01:09:03):
one thing I said is that if the house is divided,
you're in you're in trouble because you're obviously going to
go away your daughter.
Speaker 3 (01:09:08):
And your wife, and of course you are if you want.
But if everybody's on the same team, it's not an issue.
But unfortunately then you won't ask me what I would
want to do. I feel bad for the daughter. Yeah,
they're just dogs are not romantic. They're just they're not
They're just not and that they're not modest and you
(01:09:29):
can't keep them separated. You think you can, they'll find
a way.
Speaker 1 (01:09:33):
Well, they're crack so thin that that a mouse couldn't
get through it.
Speaker 3 (01:09:37):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, he dug that hole and I think
I got is that the one that I putting back in?
Speaker 1 (01:09:43):
The one about you put that's a bad mess up.
But I mean it's that a little bit on differ,
not getting that that whole fixed when it was trying
to come back be in a mountain fast. Oh baby,
get after it. And they're smart, uh, believe it or not? Greg,
why are you here? We have a another What about
the dogs? Another one? A lot of it out there?
(01:10:09):
What about them dogs? Papa, come out of here. The
dogs are dancing. So this one comes from Ben. We
have waited all summer. You have been there. We waited
all summer to avoid some of the huge crowds along
(01:10:31):
the Gulf of America. Oh, we've been waiting on this vacation.
Speaker 3 (01:10:35):
Guys, got no when to go.
Speaker 1 (01:10:37):
As we wake up on Wednesday morning to start the
six hour journey to the beach, we let the three
inside dogs out for their morning business. Three dogs included
a one hundred pound German shepherd, Hey Buddy, and the
duo of killer Docson's. Oh I've had a duel of those,
our killer Duke, the standard Dotson and Honey the miniature docs.
(01:10:58):
Oh yeah, A couple of Winnie dogs. They're all precious spirited,
They're all precious in my wife's eyes. After allowing the
dogs to run aroun the fence in the backyard as
we gathered the last few things we need for vacation,
I proceeded to open the back door to let them
back into the house. And that's when the overwhelming funk
(01:11:18):
hit me in the face like a shovel. This morning,
of all mornings, minutes before leaving vacation morning, the killer
Dotson's decided it was time to seek and destroy a skunk.
Oh skunk, she'll do it though, them Dodson's. They all
team up. My two would kill snakes. That's why they
(01:11:40):
got it.
Speaker 3 (01:11:41):
Seemed like a Winnie dog owner.
Speaker 1 (01:11:42):
The kids will know. They apparently were just The skunk
was just passing through the backyard. So we spent the
next hour bathing dogs. The only thing I kept saying
is what about the precious sleet dogs? And we've heard
from other people getting that funk off of them as
a job. They sent me a picture of them, and
(01:12:03):
they did it right. They used to mate a juice.
You got to use to mate a juice. We finally
begin to fight the I sixty five traffic and arrived
to the sandy white beaches of the Gulf of America,
where the weather has been near perfection, the water is
crystal clear, and the crowds have been minimal. As I right,
we are preparing for college football Saturday, including a fresh
(01:12:24):
shrimp boil. Have a few more days of vacation left
before back to the reality of what about the dog
spent a little time away from it? How about this,
he said, Here we were, we were just about to leave,
and they've gone kind of scum. They sent me a
picture and you see the dogs, like standing in the
(01:12:44):
bathtub with tomato.
Speaker 3 (01:12:46):
Juice, all stinking like nobody's about that. You've got tomato
juice all over you. Yeah, this is what this is
nothing about.
Speaker 1 (01:12:51):
That is my life now down here with the dogs.
What about them dogs, I'm gonna tell you them dots
and they don't play. You talked about how feisty they
can do. Unreal. They would fight bigger dogs and then
never won. And when they fought each other, it was
two males. When they fought each other, they'd be bleeding everywhere.
I mean they but and they kill snakes, like I said,
that's why they got to stay one, grab one in one,
(01:13:12):
grab the other and they start pulling. Really yeah, it's crazy.
What about them dogs? They got earned the keep, don't
to Papa. That's right, be useful. Top of the Hour
lives on the line for us through through our military.
You know, we had three of our branches of military
(01:13:34):
this year turning two hundred and fifty. Would you like,
did everybody know which three mm hmm it'd have been
with me at Tinglewood Festival? Army, Army yeah yes, Army
Mayvy yeah, yes, yeah, Force, Marine Marines, I mean I
met marine, Air Force. I don't know I met marines
(01:13:57):
in space for yeah. Greg has said air Force has slid.
Speaker 3 (01:14:00):
Me in there.
Speaker 1 (01:14:00):
And then our country is turning two hundred and fifty
as we know next year and studio. So this this
caution super serious. What about say X oh god, I
understood it. Okay.
Speaker 3 (01:14:11):
It is a week of September.
Speaker 1 (01:14:13):
September eleventh, nine to eleven is coming up this week,
and you know I've had I have the honor of
working with the American Village and Operation. We remember this
campaign is about to start all across our state. If
you'd like to know more about that, you can certainly
go to American Village dot org. But you know, one
of the things that we see far too many times,
(01:14:35):
and it's super, super serious, is when our veterans end
up taking their own life through suicide because of the
difficulties of dealing with the things they've been through. And
so we want to help and remind them that they're
not alone, that you know, they're they're bigger than any
moment that might have traumatized them. And so there's an
(01:14:57):
opportunity for us to remember that, and we're we're putting
signs together operation we remember. It's a tribute. There's been
one hundred and thirty nine veterans just in our state, sadly,
that have lost their life in twenty twenty three to suicide.
So what we have is a Veterans Crisis Line and
(01:15:18):
there's signs that you can place in your yard as
we remember the ones who you know, unfortunately took their lives,
while at the same time bringing awareness to others who
may be in critical situations themselves. So dial nine eight
eight and then press one. That's the Veterans Crisis Line.
You just dial nine eight eight then press one if
(01:15:40):
you need help. But we have signs that can remind
our veterans how much we appreciate them and that they're
not alone and that there's always hope around the corner.
As part of the Semiquin Centennial celebration, because the American
Village is the capital in Alabama for that celebration, as
we've been talking about, uh, you can display flags with
(01:16:02):
the with nine to eleven coming up. The actual campaign
will go on from September twelfth through the thirteenth, and
of course that will be the Navy's two hundred and
fifty birthday there on the thirteenth, So if you'd like
to find out more about that, just go to American
Village dot org. As we look back on nine to
eleven while at the same time bringing awareness to the
(01:16:23):
struggle of some of our veterans and people who were
part of you know, on the on the front lines
of that horrible, horrible day. So anyway, just a little
reminder there, kind of opening the door a little bit,
even though it was a little bit light hearted. President
Trump has put a reporter in her place. What a shocker,
So he what he thought it. So it's it's a
(01:16:47):
back and forth, you know, the deal going on with Chicago,
which is horrible with you know, the people that continue
to be shot and killed every weekend in Chicago, and
now Chicago, the politicians denying help from the government to
try to bring that city under you know, law and
(01:17:10):
order like they have done for Washington, d C. And others.
Even though there's people that are in harm's way that
want this help, the local government is turning it down.
So a reporter is going to ask a question to
Trump and try to frame him in a way that
he does not care for.
Speaker 6 (01:17:27):
Here we go, and there's a little bit of helicopter noise,
and he's going to respond for quite a while. So
just to make sure people get the question, the reporter says,
are you ready to go to war with Chicago?
Speaker 1 (01:17:37):
Okay, you.
Speaker 6 (01:17:40):
Say that, Joy, that's take news.
Speaker 1 (01:17:43):
Listen, be quiet, listen.
Speaker 3 (01:17:45):
You don't listen.
Speaker 1 (01:17:46):
You're never listening.
Speaker 5 (01:17:47):
That's why you're second grade.
Speaker 1 (01:17:49):
We're not going to war.
Speaker 3 (01:17:51):
We're going to clean up our city.
Speaker 6 (01:17:52):
We're going to clean them up.
Speaker 5 (01:17:53):
So they don't kill five people every weekend.
Speaker 2 (01:17:56):
That's not war, that's common sense.
Speaker 1 (01:17:59):
There you go. He didn't like her using the phrase,
which I agree with you. He's not going to war
with Now, I tell you one thing, you're in the
war zone if you live in the wrong parties. And
he says, we're just here to help to bring law
and orders. And when you say things like that, of
course I'm sure he will. Well, he's gonna hear about
calling her darling, right, Yeah, he's gonna hear about that. Yeah, uh,
(01:18:19):
he says, and then he tells her to be quiet.
So that's gonna I can't wait a bit. What's that sound.
It's the View crying. I can hear it right now. Yeah,
the View. The View will come on today and they
will just be in tears. Yeah they won't. They won't
care about the people that were killed in Chicago, but
they're gonna care about this report.
Speaker 3 (01:18:38):
We're all fired up on Sonny was just on Good
Morning America talking about the new season about to start
on the View.
Speaker 1 (01:18:43):
Well, how about the all Either.
Speaker 2 (01:18:45):
The sound is either the View or a donkey farm.
I can't tell what.
Speaker 1 (01:18:50):
Okay, Uh, here we go, let's get in the two's
here adlers. So the crowd goes wild when President Trump
is shown him the big screen during the national anthem
UH at the US Open in New York City, of
all places, here we go. It's during the night game.
There is that applause or booth. That's a smatter. It's
(01:19:13):
a smattering of both. Yeah, the gorse.
Speaker 3 (01:19:16):
The liberal media tried to say it was all booze,
and then there's other video out that it wasn't. So
at one point he was actually signing hats and throwing
it to the Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:19:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:19:25):
So here's the I think another uh, some more audio
of that speed that.
Speaker 3 (01:19:30):
You yeah, yeah, Greg, Greg, just don't say anything.
Speaker 2 (01:19:36):
There's a sign language. Guy, Greg, don't make fun of it.
Speaker 1 (01:19:38):
I'm not that a face.
Speaker 6 (01:19:47):
They got the big flag on the course.
Speaker 1 (01:19:50):
I met numerous people didn't know how many stripes were
on it. Did y'all see?
Speaker 3 (01:19:55):
Speaking of these big flags that cover the field, the
one that got trapped underneath it at the NFL.
Speaker 2 (01:20:00):
Trapped underneath it and then trapped on top of it?
Speaker 1 (01:20:02):
Yeah, was it or was it top? He was there
was there was there was a problem. There was a
major problem.
Speaker 2 (01:20:06):
Yes, was crawling across the flag. Look what does he
do with this is at the Jets game and look
at him.
Speaker 1 (01:20:15):
He's just crazy. Stripes there they're wanting the flapping. He's
messing it up by the way. That is not true.
People thought that was somebody working on the flag. That's
just a Jets fan that can't believe the season is
already back again. Let me crawl out of here. Oh
that was good. Yeah, here's the footage of him signing
(01:20:37):
the hats whatever you have that there in two.
Speaker 3 (01:20:38):
So yeah, he's just he's signing and tossing, and you
know they're they're kind of.
Speaker 1 (01:20:47):
Love. Yeah, and and and if you don't believe me,
he's America's favorite president, just ask him. He'll tell you
again that's your favorite president. Here.
Speaker 6 (01:20:57):
Did you all see Aaron Rodgers speaking of the Jets game,
his comments after the game?
Speaker 2 (01:21:04):
Let's see, here we go, because.
Speaker 6 (01:21:06):
The Steelers beat the Jets. That's right, yea, we all
saw that. We all saw that here. Rogers was asked
about it.
Speaker 2 (01:21:11):
If you guys want to hear that, sure quickly. Here
we go.
Speaker 8 (01:21:13):
And you spoke about the meeting with Alan Glenn McAfee
a few months ago. Beating him is a significance in
that sense. He basically told you to your face that
he didn't think you were right for that team.
Speaker 1 (01:21:26):
Yes, that's what he did.
Speaker 8 (01:21:28):
So there's significance in beating him.
Speaker 1 (01:21:30):
For you.
Speaker 5 (01:21:30):
I was happy to beat everybody associated with the Jets.
Speaker 1 (01:21:38):
I bet you were. I bet you were. We'll be
right back. Stay close.
Speaker 3 (01:21:49):
By the way.
Speaker 1 (01:21:49):
I can't imagine not being able to sleep on my
stomach inside. I can't sleep on my back. Can't do it.
Every time I do it, I'm convinced whatever is in
the house is gonna get I don't know why that's
sleep on my back. I just can't do it. Can
you stay?
Speaker 2 (01:22:01):
Do it?
Speaker 1 (01:22:02):
I know it's the best thing for your body, but
I can't do I can't. I cannot do it. I've
tried it, can't do it.
Speaker 6 (01:22:07):
I think I need like a mouthpiece or something to
pull my jaw forward because my tongue is big, and
it like it chokes me.
Speaker 1 (01:22:13):
I didn't know you had a big tongue. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:22:16):
Yeah, Like, if I lay on my back, I'm fine
until the moment I fall asleep, and then it's like, right,
I would have thought your tongue was no big song
big tongue, man, So.
Speaker 1 (01:22:26):
It's kind of like your head. It's kind of like
your head. It doesn't fit your body. Yeah, A little
bit like that.
Speaker 3 (01:22:30):
I got you the what's it? The ule?
Speaker 2 (01:22:33):
It's called a uvcle.
Speaker 1 (01:22:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:22:35):
Yeah, yeah, it's not called you haven't It's called a uvula.
Speaker 1 (01:22:39):
That's it. I asked the question. I didn't know. Did
y'all know the little flap that hangs down. I think
what you're talking about is not even on the right gender.
Speaker 3 (01:22:48):
No, but do you do you have an oversized uvula,
because that could be the reason why.
Speaker 2 (01:22:53):
The hanging down anything.
Speaker 1 (01:22:54):
Yeah, the punching bag, Yeah, that's what. Yeah, I didn't know.
Speaker 2 (01:22:59):
That plays a big key in balance, by the way
it does.
Speaker 1 (01:23:02):
Everybody knows that that's your big toe you're thinking about.
Speaker 6 (01:23:05):
That's some pinky toe, everybody saying, very more important than
you realize.
Speaker 2 (01:23:08):
The pinky toe here.
Speaker 3 (01:23:09):
Let me see that you let me see it sounds
like something.
Speaker 1 (01:23:17):
Yeah, huh, it is.
Speaker 2 (01:23:19):
But I sleep on my left side most of the
most of the times.
Speaker 7 (01:23:23):
It is.
Speaker 1 (01:23:23):
Google. No, I'm not just dangerous.
Speaker 2 (01:23:28):
Agree, it's you viewla not you're saying.
Speaker 7 (01:23:34):
Also known as the palatine ul staphile, is a conic
projection from the back edge of the middle of the
soft palate, composed of connective tissue containing a number of glands.
Speaker 1 (01:23:44):
Thank you. It meant when when that boy started talking,
that was a scary moment.
Speaker 3 (01:23:49):
It was said.
Speaker 1 (01:23:53):
I said, but first, I don't have you, don't don't,
don't ask you what that is?
Speaker 3 (01:23:59):
No, do that?
Speaker 1 (01:24:01):
Okay, so speedy, we're gonna allow you to participate in
some music talk. Are you ready? Oh boy, okay, let's go. Greg.
Where are you on super Tramp? Not that much? I
don't like him that much. I remember Breakfast in America,
that album when I was in like the eighth grade.
I remember the logical song. I remember listen to the lyrics.
A kid strange means Adler super Tramp.
Speaker 2 (01:24:23):
Don't love him, but not not bad. They've got a
couple of hits.
Speaker 1 (01:24:26):
Jordan seems upset about it. Yeah, I don't know if
he's heard what happened, real mad Yeah, friend of ours, Jordan,
here's with us today, sipping little coffee, ready to go.
Uh did you care about super Tramp since you have
a musical background at all? No? And yeah, I mean
so Rick Davies is dead to eighty one. But I
didn't mean call anybody with that. The creator of super
(01:24:47):
tranp co founder Give a little, big guy, that you
the only one you ever.
Speaker 2 (01:24:51):
Say Give a little Bit's a great song.
Speaker 3 (01:24:53):
The logical song and Goodbye Stranger were probably.
Speaker 1 (01:24:56):
What about take the Long Way Home? Goodbye Stranger? Care?
I mean take the Long Way Home? How'd you like
that one? So you thank you?
Speaker 3 (01:25:05):
Yeah, that's pretty good.
Speaker 2 (01:25:06):
Yeah, they've got some good songs.
Speaker 3 (01:25:07):
Okay, it's raining again though, it's pretty.
Speaker 1 (01:25:09):
Good speed you're googling, uh you're now watch Greg's reaction
to this one right now. So Rick Davies, co founder
of Super Tramp Daddy day one. Do we care because
he's a real person. I don't care, but I well,
it ain't Elphus. I'm gonna ask again, and I know
every list. Here's the thing we need to do every time.
(01:25:29):
I don't know who's gonna meet that. Here's what we
need to do every time, every time I every time
a rock star dies in their eighties, we must an
now announced that Keith Richards is still alive and thriving. Yeah.
I don't know how still breeding is He's got like
fifty kids.
Speaker 2 (01:25:47):
Yeah, thank you, buddy, Thanks great. The wrong one practice
in America?
Speaker 1 (01:25:50):
Remember that one? Just about it? That was a big
I remember getting the album on the whatever that club was.
When you get like statue of liberty holding a thing
of pancakes. I'm for me with it, Greg, remember that? Yeah, yes,
I had.
Speaker 6 (01:26:02):
The album and there's a big nine to eleven conspiracy
around that, by the way, really.
Speaker 1 (01:26:07):
Yeah yeah, around the Breakfast in America album cover eighty one.
Speaker 6 (01:26:11):
Yeah, because it's got the Twin Towers and then it's
got anyways.
Speaker 1 (01:26:16):
Well you know why, because they were there? What does that?
This is like an early eighties.
Speaker 2 (01:26:19):
Look, we'll get into it on nine to eleven.
Speaker 1 (01:26:21):
Okay, thank you, Okay, what I'm just kidding.
Speaker 2 (01:26:23):
I'm not going to do it.
Speaker 1 (01:26:24):
But I like Dreamer though and school.
Speaker 2 (01:26:27):
Yeah, take a look at my band.
Speaker 1 (01:26:30):
Yeah that's not bad. And uh, Greg, Now, if you
don't care about Super Tramp, there's zero chance you care
about the Turtles. No. First of all, anybody names a
band of Turtles? Okay, Well, listening to Mark Vahlman, I'd
rather hear super Tramp also Flowing Eddie co founder and
singer I'm happy together. But you don't seem to care
(01:26:54):
about as a song You've never mentioned much to you
because it has a word happy in it. Dead at
seventy eight? What is this? Anytime? Kind of almost famous
Ross nowadays? Now, no, super Tramp, they're considered to be
one that they're they're held in very harber.
Speaker 2 (01:27:10):
Him heart and how do you together? I mean, everybody
knows that song.
Speaker 1 (01:27:13):
Yeah, pretty good? You think Greg's ever saying that to Lelee? No,
it's not a great song. Happy.
Speaker 3 (01:27:22):
How did they get their name?
Speaker 1 (01:27:23):
Y'all? Y'all know everything? How'd they get their names? That's see,
we're I believe it or not. And it's getting stranger
the few times I get to say this now, since
I'm sixty, i'm too young to know that, I don't
get to say that much anymore. But the Turtles were
way before my time. Yeah they were. I was I
would not born yet. I knew the song, but I
didn't know who sang. Ricky were probably born. But I mean,
(01:27:44):
I don't remember saying I knew the song, but I
didn't know who sang. I remember being repulsed by the
thought of the band now, even as a kid, because
our dad had had the cool music taste, and he'll
know the name of them. Before they were the Turtles,
I did not.
Speaker 2 (01:27:58):
You do I do speeding, I do without because you're
both good.
Speaker 6 (01:28:02):
Crossfires and before that, the Night Writers, either one of
those yes nights.
Speaker 2 (01:28:09):
Is way cooler than.
Speaker 1 (01:28:09):
Turtles, especially when Night Running the series came out. Yeah,
if we were sitting around and we were naming our band,
somebody said, got a couple of options, Okay, you run
them cross Fire, that's pretty good. Matter of fact, there's
a band playing somewhere to bard and I has that name,
I promise you. And then somebody says, what do you
what are you thinking about? Was it night what night Writer?
(01:28:31):
Night Riders before the series? And then all of a
sudden somebody said, now I got one more, probably not
expecting a lot of votes. The Turtles. Somebody said, no,
that's the one wit.
Speaker 3 (01:28:39):
You know it was the record company that made them.
Remember remember that the name of the record label? You
go ahead, White, Well, okay, just some things I remember, right, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:28:51):
You know you're trying too hard to fit into the
music conversations. Well, no, this is just me going off
what I remember. I was just having a conversation. Remember,
this doesn't feel the same as like maybe discussing Zeppelin.
It's the Turtles. You don't have to put so much
affric into it. A Rick here from the Rick Burgers Show,
