Saint Rick, Well we'll see again today the Christmas cash
will be rolling out as all across America. Uh, they
are chiming in saying, ready to go. Three shows men,
three shows three speedy Greg Adler, all here ready to go.
(02:21):
We are full of Christmas cheer, uh and excited to
celebrate what has been uh well, a year to remember. Yeah,
a year to remember. Uh, it has a boy, We've
we've had our ups, we've had our downs, We've had
it's been a lot of work. We've been kind to
(02:41):
you know, find that perfect balance of respecting and celebrating
the past while enjoying the present and preparing for the future.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
It's it's been. It has not been an easy task,
but it has been worth it. It has and we
have loved it. So thank you. Like today I was
just I came into the office, I roll in there,
I'm I'm fired up, I'm ready get the buzz box
coffee on, get it brewing, because I beat little baby
brother to the office today, and I thought, you know what,
(03:09):
I'm gonna make sure he comes into coffee to do
just like he does for us. That sweet you haven't
got it yet, but yeah, thank you baby brother, and
right the big yeah, and you and I look and
sitting there in our office I mean I want you
(03:31):
to just think about this for a minute. A listener
and our viewer of this program has took the time
to get a Christmas card, fill it out and send
it to us and say thank you for a great
year and had some nice scripture in there for Christmas
and and how nice is that? Is so nice? Yeah,
that's so nice.
Speaker 4 (03:50):
So, I mean we have a couple of them opened
up sitting up by the printer in there.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
I know, I love but just to think that anybody,
all of you out there that take the time to
do that, I mean, you could just simply send an
email like you do, and it means a lot, and
it's take the time you get a card and put it. Yeah,
we do so thank you.
Speaker 5 (04:07):
So stockings we've got some stockings from people, y'all are
just really.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
Nice, we do. Yeah, just full of all kinds of
candy and stuff. It's not a great time for type
two diabetes, but I'll tell you this, it's it's been
a lot of fun. Yeah uh so. Uh so we'll
we'll move forward on that. Here's what we're gonna do.
Some things that will be happening today, and that is
that we will have a Wednesday Bible study today, and
(04:31):
it just will be a standalone Bible study and it
will be about Christmas, so it will be seasonal.
Speaker 6 (04:37):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
We're going to take a deep dive into Luke chapter
two and some cross reference some other verses, uh, and
go back and do that. Let's go back and look
at what scripture has said. And you know, there's there's
there's a there's an interesting line in in Luke chapter
two which in the later English trans translations UHG was
changed a little bit when they found the older some
(04:58):
of the more older versions of Scripture that were closer
to the original and they were like, hey, this one
word here, this one Greek word, We've got to make
an adjustment here. So so we'll we'll look at that. Uh.
And it's interesting because we've got to remember everything that's
going on on what we're thinking about. It's uh, it's precious,
(05:20):
but it's also a challenge to everybody to uh to
celebrate and and and there's a lot there's there's but
there's a lot of potential to have something to celebrate.
But it doesn't mean that you're celebrating it because it
could be condemning you.
Speaker 6 (05:33):
UH.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
So we'll we'll we'll take that on today. That's it
was so funny. You see, let me tell you exactly
what my wife said to me, because for some reason
she's decided again to try to get on my schedule.
She tries this from time to time. And she goes
to bed when I go to bed, and gets up
when I get up, and she goes, what are you
gonna do on Bible Study Day? And I said, I'm
gonna just do a Christmas message? Oh, will you send
(05:54):
that to me? Now? She never asked for an archive
of the boss okay, she's she's basically hurt me enough okay,
and uh, And she was like, oh, send that to me.
I want to I want to listen to a Christmas message.
That'll be great. And she goes, what are you gonna
do Blue Chapter two? I said, I am. I said, nah,
I got some things I want to tell. She goes,
are you gonna be mean to us on Christmas? And
(06:14):
she goes, are you gonna like go and make it
in something hard? And I said, well, I mean I
can't apologize the description hun and uh, and she goes, well,
I hope it's I hope it's hopeful and precious and
I said, well, it's always hopeful. But I mean, she goes,
you're gonna, you're gonna make it some way where now
we're going. I said, well, I'm just gonna. We're just
gonna study the Bible. Baby, I don't know what to
take and so anyway, so that's, uh, that'll be happening today.
(06:38):
Uh we will give away Christmas cash today. You can
count on that. A very uncomfortable moment. Yesterday great seeing
all right, count it big time. Russian person, Well, he
came on by with his daughter. Hey, hell state and
his daughter going to messy state. Go ahead, let's go.
But he was really questioning. Boy, he was a lot
of stuff. One time he got out like that. Pen
(06:58):
started figuring, yeah.
Speaker 4 (07:00):
You remember that, yes, And because we're trying to do
it in our head and you know, we'll get off
a little bit.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
I told him, I said, I know what he claims,
were so far under it to legs. Let me write
all this down here. Let me see. I didn't say
we were a long way under the budget. I said,
we're about fifty dollars under. I said, sure, I'd love
to go into the Christmas party on Friday with a
little extra but we'll see. Okay, but today up for grabs.
Three questions. Stay, wait on you. I hope you've been
paying attention? Did I not spring to the audience? You
(07:26):
got to know the show you do?
Speaker 4 (07:28):
Okay, gotta pay attention, gotta listen. And you know on
the big Christmas party, we're going to be visited by
Andy Andrews.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
That's gonna be. He's gonna come sliding in. Guess your
else is coming? I heard from yesterday. Gary's coming. Yes,
hate Anny Pies. Hey, you want me to come to
the Christmas party?
Speaker 6 (07:47):
Right?
Speaker 1 (07:47):
And I said yeah? And he goes, ain't anybody gonna
be out there in the parking lot? And I said, well,
I don't know, Gary, I think they might be. I said,
but Gary, yes, you have to be here for the
Christmas party. So Gary's gonna be here.
Speaker 4 (07:59):
Andy back and we got the little happy from Barton
Clay that we all wish we could say, the mom
Blind Platinum Classic.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
That's it now it's turned into a piece of Asian jewelry,
isn't it? Okay, that's not what it is. Good, It's good.
It's a French asi yeah, as mont Blanc.
Speaker 7 (08:19):
Okayestester Stook uh, platinum platinum coated coated Classic Classic pin
point pin four hundred and eighty dollars with a pen mumble.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
Too much pressure for me, but some of y'all can
handle them, like I'm scared of.
Speaker 4 (08:36):
Yeah, I know, I've had to hide it from you
your truck for you.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
Look very nice, pins, very nic I'm a little surprised
that I've made this far with the sweater with Greg
making no comment. Oh yeah, yeah, that's okay. Here we
goamp fire, get that I can't. I came on in
a campfire, and you ready, Greg, what I'm doing is
being festive because there's a Christmas message today.
Speaker 5 (08:58):
It's Fred Claws.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
It is absolutely and so you know, like years later,
when somebody says, what was that Christmas smashes they did
in a Wednesday Bible study, somebody says, it's got to
be this one's got he's got red sweater. Yeah, they go,
it's not red, but yeah, it is red. That's not red.
Red's burnt orange. Ain't no, it's red red. It's a
dark red that ain't red. And towards it is.
Speaker 5 (09:19):
It red burnt orange?
Speaker 1 (09:20):
Greg, It's not red, that is not red.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
It's red sweater, d decorator. It's redish burnt. It's in
the red, It's in the red family.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
This Texas been a little darker. Can't you see you
coming in from Christmas Eve? Greg movie sitting by the
fireplace with the pope. Yeah, with this, oh yeah, with
that beard rocking.
Speaker 5 (09:37):
It looks straight up red on camera?
Speaker 1 (09:38):
Thank you. I think it's red.
Speaker 5 (09:41):
I'm impressed, Greg said, burnt or. I mean that's I've
never even I didn't know that was a color.
Speaker 1 (09:46):
Texas. You don't know what's the color. That's the color
that auburn is other than orange.
Speaker 5 (09:49):
I thought they were auburn.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
No, and it's Texas is burnt off? What them is
burned on? I'll see how you see orange in that.
It's not orange. It ain't red, Greg, It's a red sweater.
Like if you were on the sidelines with the game Cocks,
they'd make you go change shirts. I didn't say I
had on that color red. But it is a shade
of red. I have a red family. I'll give you that.
But Christmas is that other bright. Greg, come over here,
(10:12):
let me put us nice Christmas red. But it may
be a red, but it's not Christmas. Will you come
over here, and I'm gonna put up against your necks.
Se if it's red, Okay, it's a match. It's a match.
So you're telling me that's Christmas red. Santa Claus walks
in with that on. What do you say? I think
Santa when he gets back to the North Pole and
he kicks it his boots off, I think he puts
this on. I think he does, but he doesn't fly
(10:33):
in around innute. No, no, Greg, I don't have a
Santa suit on.
Speaker 8 (10:37):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 1 (10:44):
So yesterday, have you looked at the winter from yesterday?
Speaker 7 (10:47):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (10:47):
Yeah, good gracious, we just went crazy yesterday. They just
absolutely is it? Did I give you the last page? No?
I still got yesterday. I still got the okay, yeah, yeah,
I'm still the old one here. I printed it out.
Speaker 4 (10:59):
I just don't think I stabled it to the to
the bottom. But yeah, we gave so many away that
big time rush.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
Was like, are we y'all doing this right? And uh?
Speaker 4 (11:09):
We had one hundred and fifty dollars contest winner with
the one shot Shannon Aaron. Then we had one hundred
and fifty dollars Burgess Ball Challenge winner Andrew and Do Adams,
and then another one hundred Andrew Adams and another one
hundred and fifty dollars Burgess Ball Challenge winner Lance Moody,
and then Seali's Cody was the text winner for one
hundred dollars.
Speaker 7 (11:29):

I had and win for three. You're right, boy, he
had one fifty. Right, go ahead, Oh wait, chime in, Greg,
you wanna go ahead and talk about speedy so special Forces?

anytime you you venture out, and I really do like
what I call the top ten guy.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
I had pre approved shirts group of stuff that. Yeah,
he's pre approved Greg. Every one of us we go
to our closet, we have Greg approved clothing. And if
you get outside of that, just wait on him. Yeah,
what's funny. And it's just the way it is here
and I'm the same way he comes in the door immediately. Hey, hey,
go ahead, yeah, go ahead, Nothing wrong with that jacket?
(12:11):
Is that a jacket or shirt?
Speaker 4 (12:13):
It's it's like one of those in between things that
you can wear inside, but yet it's also you can
button it up.
Speaker 1 (12:19):
And wear out.
Speaker 5 (12:20):
It's a shacket.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
Yeah, she got it.
Speaker 4 (12:23):
She got it, and I don't really know if I'm
wearing it right because the collar can go up.
Speaker 5 (12:28):
Collar brother, huh collar poppet poppet brother.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
So anyway, she got locket.
Speaker 4 (12:35):
She got it from my birthday. And then she went
ahead and said, well, look, if you're just not gonna
wear you just want to return that.
Speaker 1 (12:41):
I was like, okay, I've got to wear it. I'm
wearing this. My wife got it, so y'all can eat it.
It's fine special Forces. That's good. I don't know.
Speaker 4 (12:48):
It's a solid color and so ill how much more
plane it can?
Speaker 1 (12:53):
I hope I get one for Christmas? Okay, I do.
I like the old name Maverick, something about the color
and now look military, what what is it? I'm just trying
to understand. I like this. It's just it's got it.
It's got a slight, puffy sleeve. It's not full. It's
got the puffy slight you know, the stitching, you know,
but they're.
Speaker 4 (13:13):
Not need to do which isn't good. It feels good,
it's not it's not that warm. I mean, if I
was hot, i'd.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
Take it off. No, Yeah, but that's true.
Speaker 4 (13:23):
You should have a fashion segment and y'all break down fashion.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
Because y'all sweater, y'all, he's convinced he's wearing red sweat.
Speaker 4 (13:33):
Do we do the fashion minute with Gregs?
Speaker 1 (13:34):
And he knows so much?
Speaker 5 (13:37):
I obviously look sharp, I've been wearing these jeans for
three days.
Speaker 1 (13:41):
The only thing that we're making fit about right now? Yeah,
the only thing pop this You see how the slaves look.
If he had a pair of pants and that was
the legs, yeah, that matched it? Now, that would pop,
that would be So here's what Here's what I got. Shacket,
Here's what I got to know. Are you wearing a
jacket into That's what I just said?
Speaker 4 (14:01):
You can wear it inside, according to Terry. So I'm
doing what my wife told me to do.
Speaker 5 (14:07):
Jack shirt, it's a shacket, it's a shacket. Jacket, it's
a sacking it. Yeah, we got a break coming up
here at zero dark thirties. You don't forget.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
Man, if Richard Simmons was still alive and he's seen
that burnt orange tackled him again. Look, I can't say anything.
Everybody's gathering around in front of me for it. Read
was not before christ I'm I don't know why. Yeah, yeah,
well you've been wearing that since Taylor was twelve. We
(14:42):
probably yeah right, yeah, I've noticed this thing is getting
rotated pretty heavy. That's not true. You like it, that's
not true.
Speaker 6 (14:47):
Like it.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
I don't have a lot of clothes. Guy, you're gonna see.
Speaker 9 (14:52):
Him a lot.
Speaker 1 (14:52):
Got a shirt I'm wearing tomorrow. I probably had it
on Monday. Got me a quarters zip a kind of
like yeah, because you want of course, because you want
my show. I do like that show.
Speaker 5 (15:03):
Yeah, that's good.
Speaker 4 (15:04):
Sleeves scare me a little bit, but I like that
sleeves feeling. Go ahead, go ahead, get your rubb.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
But you see what I'm saying. It's supposed to be
puffy sleeve, but you want without the puffy. Tell you
what good thing that If my driverers messed up and
I need to get I need to change out the
pipe on the back of it. I just she was
one of those speedy sleeves. Yeah, what on what now
they're speedy wearing a shackt the vent? Yeah, there is
no event stuff that you have that that silver looks
(15:32):
like you know you're connected to the vent? Pas out
the pattern looks like it. Oh yeah, okay, saying you know,
I don't know what the name of it is. If
you had the name the little Slinky Pipe, yeah yeah, okay,
could go up to the name of that, you can
get it. I think it's called the vent Is it
pretty much to drive? Actually, boy, guys, I really do
(15:56):
like it. I did now my arms just so big.
It might it probably might me look over sizes for you. Right,
you just worred about your burnt orange sweater if you
just had some kind of cool hat with it, I mean, Adler,
step on out here.
Speaker 4 (16:06):
I know what you got on, so get out here.
Speaker 1 (16:10):
Make sure he's got Smoothie King. He's got he's put
a he's put a shacket all right on dim back, Darryl. Yes,
our Smoothie King.
Speaker 5 (16:21):
No, this is a I think this is a shacket too,
for real. My wife got it for me for you.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
In front of that Greg yours has a hood on it,
doesn't he does have a hood on this.
Speaker 4 (16:30):
I looked those are in but the boys love those
vent duck Yeah, okay, buddy, I looked at it, guys.
Speaker 1 (16:38):
It was it was kind of nippy yesterday, but by
the time we left. I looked up Adler's leaving. He's
got a hood with a leather jacket on. He's got
a hoodie with what the hoodie is on his head. Well,
he's trying to stay with him and he's in here.
Speaker 4 (16:48):
Well whether where our cars apart, they stay in the
shade until a certain part of the day.
Speaker 1 (16:53):
And you can get in that car. It's a little chilly, Yeah, buddy,
it was cold yesterday. Heat out by three of clock.
It wasn't pretty cold. It was pretty cool when that
got what it has been. Well, walk on out right
now saying there's a little shit out there right now.
Speaker 4 (17:09):
It's because you can think warm. You're a superhero, and
you can think that a lot.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
Greg. Matter of fact, it's so cold. Just speas when
word jacket during the show, but it's not a yeah
jacket was it was cold in my hands, man, I
went outside to get warm. Yeah, it was cold in here,
will bless your heart. And by the way, I always
wanted a window from my office. Didn't have one for
like twelve thirteen years. Yeah, when does it get cold?
(17:35):
You know you're always like a like a freezer. Yeah, right, well,
and you.
Speaker 4 (17:41):
Wish your sleeves on the sweater would stay up.
Speaker 8 (17:44):
Yeah, he's the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
Okay, So, how many of you are about to invest
in college? What an investment that's going to be? What
an investment that's going to be? And you know, there's
there's a, sadly, a pretty strong chance if you don't
get the information, you're gonna pay a lot of money,
or if you're you know, working together and your kids
(18:13):
working a job to pay for it themselves, whatever the
case may be, a big investment is about to be made.
And if you pick the wrong university, and I've seen
some of this firsthand, there's a really strong chance your
kid is being shipped off on your dime or their
dime to be indoctrinated away from everything that you hold
(18:34):
dear and you and then some of you, look, I
know right now you're going birds. Don't worry about it.
I'm sending my kid to a Christian college. Well, that
might be worse if it's the wrong one. You talk
about confusing somebody, why don't you vet them out? And
there's a free resource available for you right now to
(18:55):
make a wise choice. It's christiancollegeguide dot com to all
the basics, acceptance rates, tuition, calls, academic majors, all the
stuff you would expect. But what makes it really a
special resource is that Christiancollegeguide dot com will show you
the school's faith commitments, its campus policies, and its spiritual life,
(19:19):
all the information that will help you find a college
that you can trust. Okay, so why don't you get
your free profile right now at christiancollegeguide dot com. That's
Christian college a college guide dot com, the definitive guide
to Christian higher education and it is completely free. Rick
(19:46):
burgesshow dot com. You meant to go to the store there,
click on shop and you meant to get things for
people on your list that would like something from the show,
and you didn't get it done, or you wait sort
of late and you you made the deadline, but you
went there and the size you need, we didn't have anymore. Okay,
(20:07):
I know, well the and I give credit to the store.
They came up with this on their own. They started
getting so many people that they were that they felt
bad for for either one of those scenarios, and they
came up with a brilliant idea gift cards. So what
you can do and you the gift card, you can
get in twenty four hours. So if you go to
(20:30):
rick burgesshow dot com, click on shop our store, either
one both those work, and then you'll go to the
store and you'll see them there and you can put
as much money on there as you want, and you
pick the amount you want on the gift card, uh,
and then that gift card will come to you. It'll
be an E card and it'll come to you and
(20:52):
you can give that to someone for Christmas, and then
they can go to the store either when their size
is fully stocked or whatever and get whatever they want. Yeah,
So if you miss the deadline on getting an actual
object ship to you, then just go there and get
a gift card. And they look great and you can
find that at rickburgesshow dot com. They're in the store.
(21:13):
I thought that was a good idea.
Speaker 4 (21:14):
I think it was a great idea, uh, And thinking
I felt great. I'm surprised you hadn't told me to
go to the mall and do some stolen valor.
Speaker 1 (21:23):
Today in this that was the other thing you missed.
Speaker 4 (21:27):
But I was thinking of the mall because Reese actually
said he went in the last couple of days to
the mall, and I was like, what was that like?
Speaker 1 (21:35):
And I know you said you did. I did a
lot of times.
Speaker 4 (21:38):
You go to the to the mall and you go
to the stores and you just approach from the outside
and don't walk the mall and you just in and out.
And so but Terry declared, we need to run through
and grab something at the mall because you do get
to a point where okay, it's too late for shipping
or whatever. Now we're bricking mortar. We got to go
pick something.
Speaker 1 (21:57):
Up, you know.
Speaker 4 (21:58):
And h and so she says, thursdays of the day
for that for us. She's got a couple of more items.
I have never been so lost when it comes to
gifts than this year. Normally we will will tag team it.
And hey, kept she has run off and left me.
And so I'm like, okay, yeah, but look at what
you got out of it.
Speaker 1 (22:16):
I know she got me this. That is my beautiful
wife got me a gift, buddy. That's that is really
really good. And uh and we're gonna miss you when
they call you to Syria.
Speaker 10 (22:27):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (22:27):
The that's so thank you for thank you for right well,
I mean, are you Goose or Maverick? I will say
this and we talked about it yesterday. I think our
Christmas shopping is done. Really, we're closed, We're finished. She
did say there was a few items. The only thing
(22:49):
that I got, the only thing I got to finish
is what I'm making for baby brother for the christ
Christmas party on Friday. Yeah, I'm gonna finish that up tomorrow.
But are you not making anything? We know what you do,
we which none of us are going to go in there.
And what do you mean by making I gotta go?
If I got to go out in the wilderness and
bring in a rock and carve it into a Santa face,
(23:09):
what are you talking?
Speaker 4 (23:10):
Just might go store ball clip clip here, go buddy,
and then that And that's okay that that would meet
the requirements.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
But you're not making anything.
Speaker 5 (23:18):
It's the thought that counts. We are supposed to make
it with our hands.
Speaker 4 (23:22):
It's all about it's all about the effort, and it's
you know, is there any effort involved?
Speaker 1 (23:26):
If I if I get a kit that is a
craft and put it together, have Sherry do it?
Speaker 6 (23:33):
No?
Speaker 1 (23:35):
Trust me, when you see it, you'll know that Cherry
didn't do it. I can't wait to give it to
him though. It's what he's been waiting now, Huh. Put
the pressure on every body. Greg.
Speaker 5 (23:48):
We're supposed to make it with our hands. But it
doesn't have to be like you took your hands, you
forge the steel to make the hammer.
Speaker 1 (23:54):
I don't have to go so far. My Santa face
was a perfect example. I don't have to go do
rock work right and correct. You bring it in and
go wow to the tail on the beard and it's outstanding.
So my paint by colors, you aren't going. I'd be
very excited about it.
Speaker 5 (24:10):
Whatever you want to bring. It's it's you know, it's
we're brothers here and we're family, and that's all that mattered.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
Nothing could be more out of my wheelhouse. I'm talking
about it now, Guys. When I was a little kid,
every time Sunday school, vacation, Bible, schirls school, anytime the
crafts came out, it was so disastrous. And I remember
kids would turn in things that looked so cool and
(24:37):
their parents were probably just so excited. And my craft,
I mean it looked like that they had brought in
an animal without a posable thumb and said try to
do it. It was jeanetic because mine were the same one.
No no, wait a minute, don't you don't you? Greg?
You didn't we forget your your painting of mallards. Oh
I thought I had a shot that year. Let me
tell you, Greg, you and you had a shot when
(24:59):
you put together the mallards for the art contest that year.
Didn't even get a honorable mention. I can't believe that
those expectations went when I walked in and saw I
didn't get the blue ribbon. Of course, I think the
kid had got it traced his That's that's a whole
nother story, okay. And uh and I said, well, maybe
I got the red looked, I didn't get the red.
Maybe I got the white third? How about honorable mention?
They had a couple of them. How did your mallards
(25:19):
get overlooked? And that was the first year I actually
could actually submit something. I thought, well, this is all
Greg's mallards weren't bad, by the way, they weren't bad.
Now mine they would just put over there. When you
saw mine, you thought, well, you know, it's good that
they're letting slow class get involved.
Speaker 11 (25:35):
You know what.
Speaker 1 (25:36):
No, seriously, I'm so, I just don't. I just don't
have that. I can't I can't.
Speaker 4 (25:41):
Even if we all drew stick men, you would go, Rick,
what is this? You remember the first time you traced
your hand? Mad Turkey, that's pretty good.
Speaker 1 (25:49):
I can't do that. I've tried that.
Speaker 5 (25:52):
I would look around and how did these people look
so good? Did we all have the same supplies? Were
using the same fra Right? Just happened?
Speaker 1 (26:01):
So you weren't very good at either.
Speaker 5 (26:02):
I would always, especially some of the girls in the class,
I'm like, what did you how did you do?
Speaker 1 (26:06):
How do y'all color so well? Yeah? I never could
color good. I can't color good. I'm terribly at colored trying.
You know, you outline it and then instilled. Oh some
of you, some of you. If you ever get anything
from me that I that I take, you know, like
we have these little cards we send out sometimes if
you if we received something from you, hey, thank you
very much. By the time I'm done, I'm not they're
gonna think that something's wrong with you.
Speaker 12 (26:28):
Hey.
Speaker 1 (26:28):
Look, I'll tell you this.
Speaker 4 (26:29):
When I was making these little markers here for the
Burgess Ball Challenge, and and I had to make the
puffy numbers and then and then and then draw in
good hand. No, I almost there, was one I had
to start over because I got outside the lines and
seven yep, can't go inside the line.
Speaker 1 (26:47):
But he he, you have good penmanship. Some of y'all
out there that get signed copies of the books, Yeah,
there's there's like ninety percent of them that that all have,
and all of a sudden they'll just be one that Also,
my hand will just go and I'm like, I think
I have to throw turn this book back in. I can't.
Nobody can have this.
Speaker 9 (27:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (27:05):
I don't even know what that is. I think I
just made a smudge. Yeah. So so anyway, we will
be exchanging our gifts on Friday as part of the
Christmas party. Mm hmm, it's Christmas. It's the it's the
that's part that runs Christmas. Yeah it is. Greg just
said the gift. That's what you think?
Speaker 12 (27:21):
Greg?
Speaker 1 (27:21):
Thanks exchanging gifts ruins Christmas for kind it. Okay, when
you get older, right when you were a kid, it
was awesome grabbing glad God exchanged the gift. Well, oh
there it is. Well besides that, okay, that was a
big one one of course. You know who, let's face it.
Once you were given that gift, what you try to
bring back I mean, there's nothing on Christmas Day where
we live.
Speaker 4 (27:42):
And again the extended forecast, they really truly can only
dial in so far out, but they they're claiming it's
going to be a little warmer on Christmas sixties seventies.
Speaker 6 (27:51):
Uh and.
Speaker 4 (27:53):
And Terry was like, wow, So it's so it opens
up the outside because we're hosting. And so she's gone
off and got all these little games and stuff, and
I'm like, but once, once she got it's like corn hole,
but it's it's like it's golf but corn hole. And
it's like, I don't know, it's like instead of throwing
or tossing bean bags or whatever you actually are, you're
(28:17):
chipping into into the hole or something.
Speaker 1 (28:21):
I don't know. She's got that.
Speaker 4 (28:23):
We got the little red ball that you punch that
you claim you yeah, we got that.
Speaker 1 (28:28):
That's fun.
Speaker 12 (28:29):
It's hard.
Speaker 4 (28:30):
But my boys have never been into the board games
that they won't do it.
Speaker 1 (28:33):
They won't sit still consider of that. Blessing. Board games
are one of these things that I have a bad
attitude about. It's got to work board, it's got the
word board in. But there are times when I've got
in and go this is kind of fun. Yeah, you
know what I'm saying, it's surprise you, okay.
Speaker 13 (28:47):
Is that it?
Speaker 1 (28:48):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (28:49):
I don't even again, she's run off and left me
those red.
Speaker 1 (28:52):
Solos, and I don't know. I wouldn't mind trying that.
Speaker 4 (28:57):
Yeah, but she's got all kinds of stuff because she
claims outside is something. But there's one thing that we've
discussed that we could have at the house, and that
is not one, not two, not three, not four, not five,
not six, but seven dogs. Oh that's that number where
these other dogs coming from, these bringing people. People don't
(29:23):
bring your dog to someone else's house. Nobody wants that. Well, uh,
it's kind of It's just I don't know. And and
and Tyler maybe done got another puppy that gummet bear.
Speaker 1 (29:33):
Nobody the other one, yes, nobody want to And they
got that and and you know, right, that's five. Who's
bringing the other two? John and Reg they bringing their
dog away from Mississippi.
Speaker 4 (29:46):
Walter and Winston where they're they're they're gonna be staying
over and then and then taking my parents somewhere Saturday,
uh and all that. So they're coming on over for
a little bit. But uh, yeah, we were we were
doing the count. Now we're just gonna kick them out
and they'll be out side.
Speaker 1 (30:00):
Yeah, but you go outside and it will be all
over you. You don't play outside. What if I just
that's just what my life is now. I just get
thought out there, just freaking dogs and piles. Well you
could not ride as a show.
Speaker 4 (30:13):
But oh yeah, and then Cuddy, you know what Terry's
turning on? Cutting Really he chewed up the first Christmas
gift that she had wrapped underneath the tree.
Speaker 1 (30:22):
Thought it was a toy. Okay, well he thought it
was all tattered. Now, oh that's funny.
Speaker 8 (30:27):
This is the Rick Burgess show.
Speaker 1 (30:35):
To be excited about in twenty twenty six. But now
we kind of reflect on what was twenty twenty five,
and there was a lot there that was going on.
I'm looking at the text line right now. You mentioned
that one of your mini dogs, Speedy, has chewed up
somebody's gift. I don't know. I don't know how honestly
that man. Somebody just sent that their dog is chewed
(30:58):
up various gifts that were under the tree. Look, people
are different. If if if these dogs bring you so
much joy, they're worth all this. What about the dog
stuff to each his own. I gotta tell you that
right there, that right there.
Speaker 4 (31:19):
So we had one under the tree, and it was
a small one, and I guess I think it had
j C's name on it. Terry was, you know, kind
of starting to knock him out a little bit trying
to him open it. And it was it was pretty small.
I mean it was I don't know what was in it,
but it was really small, small than a little laptop,
you know. And and and we we come in and
(31:40):
underneath the ottoman. Uh, I guess that's where his eating
spot was. Yeah, well we noticed that.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
What do you what what do you call it? Uh?
It's the cover you put underneath the tree? What's that called?
Speaker 5 (31:52):
I'm the skirt?
Speaker 1 (31:53):
The skirts the tree skirt? Thank you?
Speaker 4 (31:55):
Well, we know, I noticed, I know, I noticed that
the tree skirt had been pulled over, and there it
was bear underneath the tree.
Speaker 1 (32:04):
And well, I didn't know she had put a gift
under there.
Speaker 4 (32:08):
So I said, hey, she got home from where guy
was getting home and hey, skirts over there.
Speaker 1 (32:13):
Cut he pulled it out, she went, did he get
the gift? And I said, what are you talking about?
She said, there was a gift.
Speaker 4 (32:18):
Under there, and we went under there and she even
put it in the back and and she got down,
you know, it was looking around was I commented on
her butt while she did that. She didn't like that,
and uh and and she's like, would you stop? Help
me find the gift. And so we did find it
and it was underneath It was underneath the ottoman where
he had had him a little spot he was set up,
(32:38):
probably just so happy, and he had eaten half the bottle.
It was just just tattered.
Speaker 1 (32:44):
He was trying to help her ate into it.
Speaker 13 (32:46):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (32:46):
And the gift was a little damaged. But they think
she's gonna she thinks she can salvage it. But no,
So now it's like should we wrap gifts? And he's
not really a bad dog.
Speaker 1 (32:59):
I don't know what the he's not a good one. No,
he's what he showed you that he'll get a gift
out this point. If you put one under there and
he gets it, that's on you. That's right.
Speaker 4 (33:10):
I know this is bad, but this is what we've
gotten to at the house. You know, the crates that
they sleep and they can come apart and then you
can make them all just like a little fence, you know,
I said, Hey, do you mean pull a crate out
of the the attic and put a fence crate around
the tree?
Speaker 1 (33:28):
Is that what we've become?
Speaker 2 (33:30):
Look?
Speaker 4 (33:30):
Really Christmas? I said, until Christmas Day? When Christmas Eve?
When ain't nobody you know, we're the only ones here.
Speaker 1 (33:36):
I couldn't.
Speaker 4 (33:39):
Yeah, do we need to put a fence around the gifts?
I can't even breathe, I can't even She said, well,
we'll just wrap the gifts and put them somewhere and
then wait and put them underneath the tree.
Speaker 1 (33:50):
Yea, you know the day or something like that. Wow.
So yeah, that's what we've become.
Speaker 6 (33:54):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (33:54):
And I don't. I don't like it. Stupid, I don't.
I don't like it. She doesn't like it. I don't
know what to do.
Speaker 4 (34:03):
And then we got Jack who just wanders around. You
see Peter Patter all the time, bleas this art.
Speaker 1 (34:07):
He's so old. I just think he's confused. He forgets
he walked across the room. I think, oh wow, wow,
he won't even looking again. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (34:13):
And then we got Leo, who is underneath your your butt.
He's just if you stop, he hits your calf, you know,
And then you let him outside, go hey, just go
be a doll. You turn around and they're wanting to
come back in. I'm like, you were just wanting to
go out out there.
Speaker 1 (34:29):
I'm getting a sense of almost like claustrophobic. I'm like, wow,
you're you're that they're so intrusive.
Speaker 4 (34:35):
Yeah, how about this, I got this crazy concept. Uh,
they got fur a lot of it. Okay, if it's
thirty five, they're probably not cold. Let's just leave them outside. Yep,
you know, I mean I understand if he gets down
into the twenties, all right, whatever.
Speaker 1 (34:50):
But I mean, let's we got a fenced in backyard.
Leave him out exactly exactly.
Speaker 5 (34:57):
It's like they enjoy the process of going in and out.
They don't want to stay in either place.
Speaker 1 (35:01):
Yeah, that's good point. Kids are like that too. It's Franklin.
I know he is he does he pee on your gifts?
Because I know he'll oh he uh.
Speaker 5 (35:09):
He hasn't had that issue yet, Okay, gift. He'll be
on the deck now in a second while doing it,
I can like, I see where you were walking? Why
were you walking while doing it? At least they're getting
old though, brother, Yeah, I know, yeah, yeah, even looks
at me like his father time or something. Man, I
(35:30):
mean he is old.
Speaker 1 (35:31):
I can I tell you what's coming for you? And
you've got you got to be prepared for this answer.
Yea dad husband mm hmmm. When they finally go on in,
you'll have just a moment. Well you were saying that
was a good run. You'll think of the joy they
brought you, and then there'll be a little bit of relief.
It's just about to creep in, and then you'll hear, daddy,
can we have a puppy? Maybe let's get the kids
(35:53):
a puppy?
Speaker 5 (35:53):
Right, No, Ruby was talking about it. She's like, we
need to get a new dog because our dogs are
so old. Well, and I was like, may they can
hear you, sweetheart?
Speaker 1 (36:04):
The faces?
Speaker 5 (36:05):
Yes, they can't hear you.
Speaker 1 (36:08):
Honey. When dad gets old, I hope you don't have
the same energy. I will. I will get we need
a new dad. Our dad is old. But no, it's
different about the dog. You know what about it? I
remember that being a kid, no offense. You look at
the old dog and you're kind of like, puppy would
be cooler. Yeah, yeah, he's grown up right there. It's cute.
(36:30):
Turn out like a right. I like dogs that can
hear and see.
Speaker 4 (36:34):
Yeah, there so so so Tyler and maybe have a
labor doodle okay, and he's a sweetheart. Now they got
boad to see here it's a doodle and an allsy
mixed So what do you what's that doodle?
Speaker 1 (36:49):
Yeah, all sy doodle. It's a it's an eaty bitty thing.
This this doodle deal. They don't shp ain't that? Yes?
Oh no, it's I'm in this world. Now to the
way you're doing this too, is I've got the my
my son and his wife have a dog and they'll
they'll bring her.
Speaker 4 (37:09):
Oh yeah, yeah, you got your dog bringers, yes you
dov Yeah. That car door opens and here they come.
Speaker 1 (37:16):
Come here. I'm at camp House and there's a dog
looking my beard. Listen that dog with jumping Rick's lap
and part Yeah, this is a This is great if
I wanted to try to bake it. Hey, you know
you love your you love your kids, you do, yeah,
of course you love camp house too. And the place
(37:38):
used to be solace.
Speaker 8 (37:40):
He is the Rick Burgess show.
Speaker 1 (37:47):
This headline is kind of Shador Sanders getting more pro
bow votes than Jalen hurts Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow. Yeah,
it was kind of shocked. That's is that just telling us?
What is this telling us? He's played in five games.
(38:09):
The Browns are three and eleven. He's thrown five touchdowns
and six interceptions, okay, and just nine hundred and forty
six total yards. He's one in three as a starter,
and he's well the fans, coaches, and federal players vote
for provo and and by the by these criteria, Sanders
(38:32):
ranks ahead of established NFL superstars that I just mentioned.
Speaker 6 (38:37):
He is.
Speaker 1 (38:38):
He's the head of Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts.
He's also ahead of Baker Mayfield, Bryce Young, c J. Stroud,
and bow Knicks. What and yes, don't forget that. Uh
we're talking about people who in many cases are leading
(39:01):
teams to like incredible seasons. Okay, so let mean look
at Nick's Yeah, so is are the Broncos twelve and two?
I think? So wow? Yeah about that? That's a pretty
big story. Yeah, yeah, that's a big one. So uh
so there you go. So is this just he just
(39:23):
very popular? Is this showing that having a great how
much the van the fan vote? Way? Anyway? I mean
that ain't. They ain't like sports that that's do I
think shud Or Sanders at the end of it all,
when they, you know, get it all vetted out, is
gonna make the Pro Bowl? I don't, but they're just
saying that's an interesting story, right yeah, so wow, So
(39:44):
so there you go. But but that's ahead scrape. Burrow
has been hurt. Uh yeah, Lamar Jackson was hurt for
a while. He's back. Yeah, Jen hurts not having a
great year. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (39:56):
They bounced back this past weekend, but stiff they played
the Raiders.
Speaker 1 (40:00):
If you want to bounce back, Yeah, there you go.
What about this? Did we ever figure out? Because I know,
speaking of that, Joe Burrow at one time was saying
he was having some going through some difficulty in his life.
Did they ever get to the bottom of all that?
He was kind of had this moment in the press
converse where get it seemed like he was maybe he
was just struggling how frustrating the years been with his
injuries and stuff. But it was a lot of people
were like, is he all right?
Speaker 5 (40:21):
Talking about how he wasn't having fun?
Speaker 1 (40:22):
Right? Yeah, yeah, stand on sidelines not fun. Patrick Mahomes
knee injury worse than initially thought. Oh bad, one season
ending knee injury is worse than initially imagine after successful surgery, Yeah,
I think he had that Monday and a c L
said he reportedly towards l c LA as well as
(40:46):
the a c L. I think.
Speaker 5 (40:48):
Yeah, people were saying there was like a surgeon online
talking about the timing of the surgery. That tells you
that that he also tore that as well.
Speaker 1 (40:56):
Right, And they say these separate ligaments can complicate recovery,
But the report adds that this doesn't necessarily mean mahomes
rehab will be longer than the nine months predicted. So
there you go. So those are those are all big
And then guys, look coming up this weekend? Yeah, college
football playoff right, yep? Right, you're disappointed Texas in in it.
(41:18):
It's not so this is a red sweater. So we've
got I know, Friday night, we've got Bama and Oklahoma rematch.
Speaker 4 (41:28):
Yep, yep, that's at seven o'clock Central on ABC, ESPN.
Speaker 1 (41:32):
We got anybody else Friday night? Or is everybody else
over the weekend?
Speaker 4 (41:34):
Then just that's the only Friday college football playoff game.
There's other there's two other bowls earlier in the day,
but it's not part of the playoffs. And then you
got Then you've got Saturday the twentieth, starting at eleven
am Central on ABC, ESPN, you got Miami and they're
at Texas A and m Okay. And then you've got
(41:55):
at two thirty on T and T and True TV, HBO, Max,
Central time you got TWU Lane at Ole miss And
then let's see later in the night, you got at
six thirty pm Central on TNT, True, TV, HBO, Max,
James Madison at Oregon Okay. But in between that, you've got,
(42:17):
like you got, you do have different bowl games. And
speaking of that, congratulations to jack State they won the
Salute to Veterans Bowl last night and Montgomery they beat
Troy seventeen thirteen.
Speaker 1 (42:29):
So good old rivals playing. Loved it. You know, we
talked about that on the show just briefly, but no,
that's just so good for college football for those of
you that may not be aware of that in other
parts of the country. That was a rivalry that was
in when both teams were Division two. It was the
Division two version of Michigan, Ohio State, Auburn, Alabama you know,
(42:52):
think of all these great rivalries and Division two, it
was one of the most heated rivalries. Both teams from
the same state, just like you love, and those two
teams went at it, and they had a big thing.
It was, you would do if you were for jack State,
you wore all kinds of garb that said whoop Troy.
If you were for Troy, you know, you wore the
garb that said whooped jack State. And then that rivalry
(43:14):
when Troy went up a division, the rivalry kind of ended.
And then of course Jacksonville went up and they both
went all the way to Division one, and so they
and we kept saying, you know, all even in the
Rick and Bubby years, those teams should be playing each other. Yeah,
So it's good that they came up with a way
to get them together. And I hope they'll start scheduling
(43:37):
each other. That's a I'd love to bring that back.
So Jack State one. Was it seventeen thirteen? Yeah, yeah, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (43:45):
It is interesting though, the out of conference games and stuff,
the way the future is for college football. A lot
of coaches are like, why are we putting ourselves out there?
You know, I mean, it's sad for the fans because
they'll be fluffs out of the conference. But you know,
what do you have to gain for for playing these
you know, rivalry games or these big, big tier games
(44:08):
out of conference because you can set yourself up to it.
Speaker 1 (44:13):
It will be great if you could get UA B South.
I think I saw with South Alabama and Jack said
are going to play each other, not next year but
the next That would be great South Alabama and U
A B. Troy Jacksonville State. If they'd all play Sanford Sanford,
but there's still less Sanford still one double A what
I call UNA is Division one. Now, oh, are all right?
So you and they would be yeah, yeah, all those
(44:33):
playing these owther'd be great, yeah, because you want you
want to have rivalries and you want to give the
fans something to get excited about outside the conference. And
it'd be great if they're all in the conference together.
But that's a much bigger mountain to climb.
Speaker 4 (44:47):
But you know, obviously Alabama and Oklahoma is is exciting.
Speaker 6 (44:51):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (44:51):
But Miami going to Texas A and that's my second
game after that's what game Miami is going to show up?
Speaker 10 (44:58):
Right?
Speaker 1 (44:58):
All right? I want to see those two games. I'm
not really interested in Oregon James Madison and not with
James Madison shocked Oregon. Yeah, well that two lane Miss,
the two lane Old Miss game is interesting since Slane
Kiffin and all that. Yeah, now that game just got
a lot more interesting. They did. Granted they beat them
by five touchdowns in the first meeting, but all this
junk wasn't going on. I don't know what happened that game.
(45:20):
If that you know how it got out of hand?
That's right, Yeah, you have to go back and look
at it. But you know, Lane Kiffin being gone, that
just changes Old missus whole. Yeah, unfortunate, Like it doesn't
affect it, but it does. So looking forward to it, Gregor,
I'd like to see you and me get fired up
about the college playoff one we did last year. I
(45:40):
think the problem is there's so many games it's hard
to watch them all. Yeah, and get kind We got
one at campus Friday out. Yeah, I like, we'll be
right back.
Speaker 8 (45:53):
This is the rick Burgers show.
Speaker 1 (46:01):
Well, during this beautiful time of year, you always have
these people that are you just like, I mean, you
want to be on the naughty list. They're gonna steal,
they're gonna porch pirates, You porch pirate people. Uh, you're
living in a time you I mean, you canna get
stuff shot And not only that, I don't know if
still in somebody's you know, whatever they've ordered is worth
(46:24):
getting shot over? Yeah, what's that?
Speaker 4 (46:26):
You get all these cameras now where you know you're
gonna be identified?
Speaker 1 (46:30):
Sure, you're gonna.
Speaker 4 (46:34):
NBC News reported last night the number of packages stolen
from porches each day. Now it doesn't say, is it
just us whatever? It just says, doesn't know.
Speaker 1 (46:47):
It just says.
Speaker 4 (46:47):
NBC News reported last night that blank packages are stolen
from front porches each day.
Speaker 1 (46:54):
What do y'all think that matter?
Speaker 10 (46:56):
Is it?
Speaker 5 (46:56):
Is it worldwide?
Speaker 1 (46:58):
Is it just does? It doesn't say.
Speaker 4 (46:59):
I probably think it's just this country because it doesn't
say internationally.
Speaker 1 (47:04):
Uh, just it just that's what they report. Ten ten,
I would say, and one day you made speaking mad
with that ignored me. And one day, gosh, there's three
hundred and thirty something million people. Of course that would
include you know, a million. That's a good good, that's
(47:25):
not a bad. Guess.
Speaker 5 (47:26):
I was going to guess a million a year, So
whatever a million divided by three hundred and sixty five
is okay.
Speaker 1 (47:34):
I know that Greg hates to guess things.
Speaker 4 (47:36):
I guess yeah, and you're pretty bad at two hundred
and fifty thousand day.
Speaker 1 (47:45):
I agreed with him. I moved on with it. I
was gonna go with three hundred thousand.
Speaker 4 (47:50):
So I mean a day or a year, a day,
undred two hundred and fifty thousand a day, just stolen
for porches each day, a day, a day a day.
Speaker 1 (48:02):
When you when you just one time. I look, I'm
not promoting violence, but wouldn't you just if there was
any way possible just to grab somebody trying to steal
something off your porch by the hair of the head,
drag him out to the sidewalk, them into the ribs.
I mean, just I guess I am promoting Yeah, you
can kind of are. How about this? Don't steal from people?
That's right? That he was tired of it.
Speaker 6 (48:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (48:24):
An Amazon driver is being accused of something. An Amazon
driver dropped off a package at a home in California
and then took the cat from the front porch and
from the home. He's called the cat porch pirate caught
on camera.
Speaker 1 (48:40):
Uh, you know what, I like to have that kid?
Speaker 4 (48:43):
This is Diane the the cat owner, talking about what
she saw. She couldn't believe it.
Speaker 1 (48:48):
Me, it's me okay, I thought he was.
Speaker 14 (48:52):
Just petting her for a second. I had to rewatch
it a couple of times because it is hard to see.
It's dark, and he doesn't carry her very nicely. Can
I see her little tail? I'm like, oh my god,
I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
Speaker 4 (49:02):
And on the on the video it does show him
walking back to well, I guess his vehicle, and he's
kind of holding it around the chest and kind of
out in front of him.
Speaker 1 (49:12):
A little bit and he just takes the cat. Does
he leave with it? It appears as though he does,
and according to the owner, he did. How about that?
That's crazy?
Speaker 4 (49:22):
And now ABC seven he's just showing some b roll
here of so he goes up.
Speaker 1 (49:27):
We're watching him right now. A short time later, I've
seen apparently petting her cat, Piper.
Speaker 3 (49:33):
Moments after that, you can see the driver carrying the
cat away by the scruff of.
Speaker 1 (49:37):
Its Oh okay, well, I thought.
Speaker 14 (49:38):
He was just petting her for a second, but yeah,
I kind of. I had to rewatch it a couple
of times because it is hard to see. It's dark,
and he doesn't carry her very nicely, and I see
her little tail and I'm like, oh my gosh, wow.
Speaker 1 (49:53):
So he just is gone. See it's gone until she
got on this. I thought to myself, this is that
service I've been thinking about. You know, I was going
to do one called dog Gone. And if you had
a problem at you didn't you didn't want you to
kill you when you're a kid and your wife to
get upset with you, but you need the dog to
(50:15):
be gone. And then we come by and we and
suddenly the dog is just gone, and uh. And we
take it to another place and give it to another owner.
And so I thought, well, this is that service. This
guy's doing a two for he's delivering the packages and
removing an unwanted pet. But apparently this woman wants him.
Unless now we didn't hear a husband get interviewed. No,
(50:35):
if she has a husband, yeah, and you don't you
don't hear him saying anything. Yeah, Now he's got to
do that. Like, can you believe that he was on
driver trick or cat away? What are you kidding? All man?
You're like I told him to get out in front
of the camera. Maybe I told him to get around
inside of the house. Maybe he's selling the cat.
Speaker 4 (50:53):
Maybe there's a you know, underground market of animals where
you're selling them.
Speaker 1 (50:58):
I don't want to get anybody up a restaurant. It's
the Amazon driver Asian. Okay, I'm just throwing out all kinds.
I'm putting out all kinds of possibility, Folly lead, I'm
telling you the General's chicken. You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (51:12):
Oh yeah, it did look like a fancy er cat.
Speaker 1 (51:15):
So maybe he's thinking, hey, this is nice. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (51:20):
Yeah, I couldn't tell it because it's a little grainy.
I couldn't tell how he was carrying it.
Speaker 1 (51:24):
But did it looks like a Siamese cat? What's the
big I don't are they really going for a big
number out there?
Speaker 5 (51:30):
Some cats are expensive, but I don't know how much.
Speaker 1 (51:32):
Is this a dad who's he's Amazon driver? I don't
know how they're paid. Is he just some kind of
my kids are getting a cat for Christmas? I mean,
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (51:41):
An adult's cat for Christmas.
Speaker 1 (51:43):
That's exactly cat Burglar.
Speaker 5 (51:47):
Oh there it is.
Speaker 1 (51:49):
Yes, our speople are saying the cat's going after him
too many times he's done with it. That's possible.
Speaker 5 (51:56):
So I looked it up. Around seventy million packages are
delivered every day in America, so if two hundred and
fifty thousand are stolen, that means arounder point three percent
of all packages are stolen.
Speaker 1 (52:06):
Wow, we'll be right back. Stay close.
Speaker 8 (52:12):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 1 (52:20):
Rick Berger's Show on screen phone calls go ahead, one
of guys, We're good. I hope you're well.
Speaker 6 (52:27):
Good plush. I've always wondered, Rick, when Greg first joined
the show, was there ever a moment where you second
guess your you're thinking, guests, your decision on letting Greg
join the show?
Speaker 1 (52:42):
Yes, many times, you know, And that's the funny line.
On serious note, No, I knew it was going to
be gold. The audience I thought would respond, and I
knew who would deliver. And of course, you know, this
is something we've been even about doing. You know, for
a long long time. We played in bands together and
(53:04):
we loved being able to, you know, be part of
the entertainment business doing it together. And so when that
opportunity presenting itself and don One wanted to move on
to other things, I knew, I knew and felt that
it would work, and so did Babba and and it
has worked. And it is a blast a bibi doo
that every day. Now, have there been times that, you know,
(53:25):
I'm afraid I have to ask him if he you know,
were about to rumble?
Speaker 6 (53:29):
Sure?
Speaker 1 (53:29):
Yeah, a few. But we've been we we haven't physically
falled in. Oh it's been years. It has been years,
I mean so yeah, I think it was nineteen ninety nine. Yeah,
probably it was the last time. And we it went
a bad one. Now, it wasn't a bad now we
were kids. We had some good one. Yeah, I think
it was at the ninety nine was just a dust up. Oh,
that's a little dust up.
Speaker 10 (53:49):
What was it?
Speaker 1 (53:49):
All the ground real quick? And then get tired? Who
was it? When mister Lucky? Was it? Okay?
Speaker 6 (53:53):
That was it.
Speaker 1 (53:54):
We fought over stormy weather, we did, sure did. And
the garage I didn't like Greg now too, that's right
where Mark Phillips do. That's right, that's right, Greg. Greg
got a little high mighty by stormy weather. I don't
know what it was. Uh, well, it funny and we
were having about it. Yeah, we heard her the whole room.
(54:14):
We continue Rick Burgers Show on screen phone calls go ahead.
Speaker 12 (54:19):
He readed a little bit of sad news this morning.
Did y'all hear about Christina Chambers, the Sideline High School reporter? Yes,
she worked with w Yeah, did y'all hear about that.
I hadn't heard you mentioned that. I didn't know if
he was going to her or not. But that is
so sad. I met her. I live up here by
(54:40):
Wallace and I met her, and she is the sweetest person.
It's just so sad. And Greg she worked at Thompson
High School too, so so Taylor Taylor.
Speaker 1 (54:53):
She told me his room and her room were across
the hall from each other. Yeah, So I met her.
Speaker 15 (54:57):
We did.
Speaker 1 (54:58):
They would have us on to pick some scores, me
and Rick during the season every year, and we we
went and she was kind of in charge of the
students that were running in and everything. And she, of
course you see her in the Sideline report at super seven.
Very nice person. Horrible thing. Yeah, and what yeah, and
what those of you out there don't know what he's
talking about. It is it's and there's been so many
(55:18):
sad stories lately, it seems.
Speaker 16 (55:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (55:20):
But apparently according to what police are saying, uh that
she has been murdered. Uh and uh it was a dope.
It was a murdered suicide. Uh that involved her husband.
Uh and they have a three year old child that
was not harmed but horribly was in the home. So
and this was someone who worked as a sports reporter
(55:40):
in the Birmingham area and then went on to work
at Thompson High School and uh and all that so
so sad. Yeah, yeah, super nice person. Like I say,
I met her when we were doing the Pick the
show Pick. Oh yeah, we go every year, you know,
she will be there, and then I'd see her at
the Super seven. That's just hard. Wow, Yeah, it is.
That's a that's a just you can't there's just so much.
(56:01):
It seems like there's so much and we don't want
to bog down on it, but at the same time,
we also don't want to beseem uncaring about it. But
you know, it just it seems like we hear something
dark like this all the time, just one after another,
and it seems to like I say, like like when
we did on Strange Encounters, I've had people ask do
(56:22):
you think there's more evil, twisted, dark, demonic stuff happening now?
And I'm like, well, I don't know because I wasn't
here for the entire history of the world, and I
saw in Genesis six where God killed everybody but eight people,
So it sounds like it was pretty bad then. But
as far as my lifetime, as long as I've been
(56:42):
on the earth, yes, I do think it's the there's
more darkness and wickedness right now than there has been
in my lifetime. So so there you go. We continue
Rick Burger's show. Unscreen phone calls.
Speaker 6 (56:54):
Go ahead, Hey, I'm gonna go back to Abler's breakdown day.
Speaker 1 (57:00):
Okay, good, And I just saw uncomfortable but sure what
and you know.
Speaker 12 (57:05):
I happen it happened so close to him turning forty.
Speaker 6 (57:10):
Is that a coincidence?
Speaker 12 (57:12):
Is that something I need to look forward to?
Speaker 1 (57:15):
Yeah? Yeah, definitely right.
Speaker 5 (57:17):
No, you know, you just look for markers in your
lives and how to avoid these kinds of things and
that kind of stuff. Honestly, I've been just very worn down,
and I'm you know, I'm thinking back to like, all right,
I need to be looking for these types of markers.
Oh and something I did not mention is I have
fallen off of exercising very much, so and I know
this about myself. I am a miserable, grumpy, impatient person
(57:39):
if I am not working out very very hard at
least three you know, three times a week is very important.
So all men that are listening right now, it's incredibly
important for me and my brain chemistry and how I
feel about everything to work out very hard. And I
have fallen off that for probably three months. That's not
a good place to be. And like I said, I'm
looking for other markers. Just the last like almost almost
(58:02):
month in church, Like while I'm singing, I'm getting like
teary eyed and things like that, and you're just like,
all right, buddy, Yes you love God, and yes you're
very happy to be in church with your family, and
yes you are close to God. But you're probably tearing
up because you're exhausted. Also, you know what I'm saying.
So you got to look for these kinds of markers.
Protect your sleep. I read something today that show, hey,
O Taani, probably the greatest baseball player ever sleeps ten
(58:24):
hours a night. So that's my new goal. And I'm
I'm gonna go pro is what I'm thinking, is gonna
go with half of that first, but exercise and sleep
were out of my life and out of proportion, and
so no, it's it's still very I'm still very embarrassed
by it. I don't you know, I don't recommend that
for anybody, you know at all.
Speaker 1 (58:42):
Well, this is one of those downsides to things that happen,
you know, like I told you, and everybody's life at
some point the problem is our job. You can actually
it can happen to you on a microphone. Yeah, yeah,
I had one of those, like I told you when
Sherry made the decoration on talking about sleep deprivation that
(59:03):
dates on Friday nights. We're no longer going to be
suggested because I got like that. I got to ranting
and rolling on something late, you know, on the way home,
and she was like, you're not even this is not
even reasonable right now right And then I was like, oh,
she goes, oh, you've been up for twenty hours.
Speaker 8 (59:17):
Is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 1 (59:25):
By the way, awkward moment. I don't know what my
problem is. I really don't. And you know, because I
keep having these moments and we all do. So we
cut up a lot of the show. Everybody agree with that, yeah,
and so we start what we do for a living
so early in the day, there's a couple of hours
(59:47):
that we get the building pretty much to ourselves. I
mean this entire building. It's a commercial building. And so
you get in your mind that when you go to
the bathroom, you know, which we've documented this year, is
a journey that anybody coming in is one of the guys. Okay,
(01:00:10):
because that's pretty much the case for a couple of hours. Yeah,
there's no one else here, but that's not always the case. Rick.
So I just had the terrible it happened, awkward, awkward, awkward.
I'm standing at the urinal door open. Somebody comes in
behind me. I don't look. I think it's one of y'all.
(01:00:32):
I see that you're headed to the stalls. I said, oh,
try to squeeze one in. Yes I did, Yes, I did,
without look, without even look at all. Won't try to
wear one in real quick. And and I saw the
door shut, and I'm like, well, I speedy, not give
me then, because I thought it was you for some reason.
I was in there and uh. And and then I
hear the trying to find James, the mad flushing and
(01:00:53):
all of that, and I'm like, it's not one of
our guys. No, they didn't reply. No, they anything that
you know what to do? Oh I scared him. Yeah,
I probably scared him. Oh, trying to squeeze one in
eybuddy oho something. Sorry, so sorry about that. Whoever you are,
you're once.
Speaker 4 (01:01:12):
You leave the studio doors here, you're really an over grader.
Speaker 1 (01:01:16):
Yeah, I'm reckless out there.
Speaker 4 (01:01:18):
You are from Sweet two hundred to the bathroom. Any interaction,
I don't hold a candle to you.
Speaker 1 (01:01:25):
I had a Sweet two hundred situation last year. I
mean yesterday, not last year. Yesterday. Guys out there and
he's like searching. I'm parid of there's some search feature. Yeah,
And I said, hey, hey, you don't have to search that.
I tell you where it is. And he goes really
and I said Sweet two hundred. He goes, no, no,
actually no, And I was like, you're talking and then
(01:01:45):
I'm then I'm stimied. I said, I just keep searching it. Yeah,
you know, I'm sweat. I'm a Sweet two hundred. Yeah
that's about all. But I can tell you right there,
I can tell you right to it. No, that's not
where I'm going. That's okay. Well you're on your own.
Sorry about that. Man, you didn't know that had a
search feature. I didn't.
Speaker 4 (01:02:04):
Well, I guess you've never let anybody get to that now.
Speaker 1 (01:02:07):
Usually always take him right with any to go and
and thank them for their service, even though there's many
organizations up there, not just veterans.
Speaker 8 (01:02:14):
True.
Speaker 4 (01:02:15):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:02:15):
And let's take a look at Gary Busey here, what
what's the hey, Gary video? He's looking rough? His videos
are priceless. He's looking rough. And y'all have titled this
since you some Gary Busey has a Christmas gift for
us all to enjoy.
Speaker 5 (01:02:31):
Yeah, it's it's quite the gift.
Speaker 1 (01:02:35):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 5 (01:02:36):
He's wearing a Killer Clowns from Outer Space hat. You
guys might remember that movie. Oh yeah, and he has
a Christmas gift for all of.
Speaker 1 (01:02:44):
Us to hear and a good looking beard. Oh look
at him. You know who's letting him get it all nice?
What happened to buddy Holly?
Speaker 9 (01:02:52):
There we go, Hey, and I have got a great
Christmas presure for you. Listen to this.
Speaker 17 (01:03:06):
That's what a goose shows like. Where they're flying, they
let you know they're up there. You get a bunch
of geese together, they're honking in the air.
Speaker 1 (01:03:23):
That's not that's not that's not real. Look at it?
Should this be happening? Should somebody the video? Have you
seen the one I seen? I d MG one listen.
Are the guys? Are the guys board with Roll Todd Willie?
Now they're shooting Gary. He's on his own, Rick, you're
(01:03:48):
what that is? He got it a Christmas gift. It's
a little gift for you and you well, you know
we're not done with it. We gotta we gotta, we
gotta see it again.
Speaker 5 (01:03:56):
What else is there?
Speaker 1 (01:03:58):
It's just I don't watch them all the way. Don't
took yours off of him?
Speaker 9 (01:04:01):
Hey, scary and I have got a great Christmas pressure
for you. Listen to this.
Speaker 17 (01:04:14):
That's what a goose shows like. Where they're flying. They
let you know they're up there.
Speaker 1 (01:04:21):
Because they're doing it.
Speaker 9 (01:04:23):
You got a bunch of geese together, they're honking in
the air.
Speaker 18 (01:04:31):
Yeah, don't you know that's not stay in that mouth,
but you know they're up there. There's a lot of
tea and I know he had the accident with no
helmet home? Is that I it is one of those
not real. It's one of those a glass one that's possible.
Speaker 1 (01:04:51):
Let me find out. Well, they don't seem to be
all sitting with her. Suppose I got a Christmas gift
for you the world and his hair's.
Speaker 15 (01:05:02):
All what is that?
Speaker 1 (01:05:03):
I don't know. That's why I shaved my beard. It
looked like he is. No, I got rid of it.
I got something forget.
Speaker 6 (01:05:13):
What I mean?
Speaker 1 (01:05:15):
That's insane.
Speaker 4 (01:05:16):
Oh they're all like, yeah, I mean he's not noise wise,
but his the camera's just always right there.
Speaker 1 (01:05:24):
No, not watch the one I said.
Speaker 5 (01:05:26):
He doesn't have a glass He does not have a
glassy but his distinct distinctive facial appearance come from the
nineteen eighty eight motorcycle accident.
Speaker 1 (01:05:34):
Tough eighty eight.
Speaker 5 (01:05:38):
He chose not to have it led to my mild
cognitive impairments. Okay, some behavioral control issues. Uh, changes in
his appearance, but not a glass eye. But he has
chosen not to have reconstructive surgery as a reminder of
drugs effects.
Speaker 1 (01:05:53):
Is what this says. He needs a remind he's teaching
John's He's well, if he needs a reminder to he
can just play this you back from himself. Yeah, I
hain't miss that's Uh, that's Christmas gold right there for
this well he said it was a president.
Speaker 2 (01:06:08):
Yes he did.
Speaker 1 (01:06:09):
And let me say this. It was let me say this, Gary,
that was a present. And all I got to say
is and I've never been so thankful to see somebody
sitting on the passenger's side of a vehicle. Please tell
me he's not dropping. So there it is. Guys, there's
a little Christmas gift Gary giving out. No, that is unbelievable. Yeah,
(01:06:31):
he said, he said, he's uh, he's learned to let
others drive. Unfortunately Joe Biden was driving.
Speaker 8 (01:06:39):
We'll be back.
Speaker 1 (01:06:40):
Stay close.
Speaker 15 (01:06:41):
Oh man, this is the Rick Burgess Show, and trying
to get some updates on actual stories that are going on.
Speaker 1 (01:06:59):
UH still have not brought in the shooter from the
Brown University. We keep seeing these various UH security footage
on him. But Greg and four A here Adler, we
got four A and B to update on the story. Greg.
I'm just go ahead and tell you this. On the
first video that we're showing, I'm just gonna ask you
(01:07:22):
to stand down really well because there's someone doing sign language.
No no, no, no, no, here you go.
Speaker 19 (01:07:27):
I meant to bring this up because I've watched these
I'm sorry they all give me the Hey man, if
we can't if we got to look at that, let's
just I can't listen to what the person's saying because
I can't quit.
Speaker 4 (01:07:39):
Oh, this girl's bass, But did you see the guy
that has you looks kind of evil?
Speaker 1 (01:07:44):
Listen. They had to ball head a guide the day
before Big four, Big forehead. Yes, yes, we got clothes,
cash and right, let's use it. There's and then people go, well,
they got to be animated. I don't think they do.
You don't think they have to be to that point. Okay,
lady's animated. Oh my goodness. Okay, try to listen to
what he's saying. You won't hear a word. You will
(01:08:05):
be concentrating on her. Well, they're not saying much already.
Speaker 10 (01:08:08):
So.
Speaker 11 (01:08:09):
To say it again, there's no footage that depicts this
individual that would be useful in identifying him. That we
have not released you, and I think you can tell
from frankly, the not very helpful quality of the initial.
Speaker 1 (01:08:22):
I'm watching her, Gregar. Our standard is pretty low.
Speaker 11 (01:08:25):
If we if you thought it was at all helpful,
we would have and will release it.
Speaker 1 (01:08:31):
Sorry, I don't know who's benefit from that. I'm not
sure if it's try to go with the words and
see the signs. I don't know what do you think
she's just making it up? Oh we have that? Yeah,
but do we go? I almost see how many real
funny faces I can make watch this? Does she have? Listen?
There was a guy that was at the same conference
(01:08:52):
the day before and he was Wow, is that big
four him?
Speaker 8 (01:08:55):
Yes?
Speaker 5 (01:08:56):
Yes, So people were complaining that he really didn't know
what he was even talking.
Speaker 1 (01:09:01):
They've had that before some Mandela's funeral.
Speaker 4 (01:09:05):
Yes, his forehead is so big. He didn't have to
wear a hat.
Speaker 1 (01:09:07):
Guys, I'm looking and I know they are supposed to
do it, and I'm gonna get the emails about it.
I'm sorry that that that I can't. I can't listen
here he is no, no, he gots the soup cover good.
Don't say that it means it's got big lips.
Speaker 15 (01:09:31):
Yes, look, look, look look cracking.
Speaker 1 (01:09:36):
Look look y'all, it's a lot. It's a lot. I
think the females worse now that I look at it.
How about this? She's like, what I mean, come on,
I don't know what. I'll talk to you tomorrow, y'all.
Don't y'all, don't agree that's distracting.
Speaker 4 (01:09:53):
It can be. It's sad such a serious topic, but yeah,
but they do distract.
Speaker 1 (01:10:01):
That made me forget about it. Greg is blaming the
person doing sign. I think that they for him being
not sensitive about the topic or the fact that there's
people that need this. So I think it's Greg. You're
doing it too for right now. You know what it's doing.
It's hindering the people trying to solve this case because
there may be somebody that could help that saw something,
but they're so concentrated on that they forgot Greg.
Speaker 5 (01:10:21):
Well, they need all the help they can get. The
Brown president, the police chief, every There are a lot
of press conferences in which people are asking very basic
questions that they don't know the answers to, like what
was happening at the school that day? Why were they
there six hours after this incident? The Brown president didn't
(01:10:42):
even know. This is footage from inside, No, it's actually
footage from outside. Just basic errors in the investigation.
Speaker 1 (01:10:53):
It's not floppy. It's almost like you want to ask them,
have you ever been to the university? Yes, and here's
one you have in four b Adler. The reporter asked,
why didn't the siren emergency system go off, and the
answer is just bizarre.
Speaker 4 (01:11:08):
It's the whole thing is embarrassing, to be honest with you,
way it's being handled.
Speaker 10 (01:11:12):
Sure, So do you believe that Brown had the precautions
and safety measures in place before the shooting that were
appropriate and necessary.
Speaker 16 (01:11:21):
I do, And in fact, I'm glad you mentioned the
sirens because I think there's been some misinformation about that.
We have two security systems that we can activate in
a time of an emergency. One is a system that
sends out text messages, phone calls, emails, and it was
activated within minutes of the incident. Those messages went out
(01:11:44):
to twenty thousand individuals, so all alerts. We also have
a system of sirens. There are three sirens placed across campus.
Those get activated when there is a broad scale emergency
and we want people to rush in two buildings in
the case of an active shooter, activating that system could
(01:12:07):
have caused people to rush into Barris at holiday. So
that's not a system that we would ever use in
the case of an active shooter.
Speaker 6 (01:12:15):
So here we go.
Speaker 10 (01:12:17):
Just to follow up this is it does say on
the website when it was.
Speaker 5 (01:12:21):
Launched in his for an active shooter, it does say
on the web.
Speaker 1 (01:12:25):
No, I heard that.
Speaker 5 (01:12:27):
It does say on the website. Don't you an active shooter?
Speaker 1 (01:12:30):
Don't you think before you answered the siren question, you
would go, hey, y'all, talk to me, what's our policy
on sirens? Somebody said, well, our website says, in the
case of an active shooter, will sound the sirens. Oh
does it? So she gets up there and apparently doesn't
know that. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:12:45):
Now, and the noise you could hear if you was
audio only, is that that lady over there?
Speaker 1 (01:12:50):
Okay, you're going to start him again. No, this one's
on you. Y'all had some good points I made, but
I don't know any this one right here, this second
discussion is on. Was gonna watch that video my granddaughter? Okay,
bring back which, by the way, I want us to watch. Yea,
so we have to do that. I don't know that she.
Speaker 4 (01:13:09):
I don't know that they You tried to work through it,
and that like you did, it wasn't distract Maybe setting
them up right next to the person's shoulder to show it.
Speaker 1 (01:13:19):
Maybe maybe that's it.
Speaker 4 (01:13:20):
Let's have them off to the side with a little
box like have just a footage of this, that's the
way they used to do it, remember, Yeah, because I
mean obviously the hearing pair need to be able to
hear or know what's going on.
Speaker 1 (01:13:33):
You know what I mean. Well, they're saying that most
people that are hearing impaired would not be able to
read English. Close captions are written in English. They don't
know English. They just know sign language because that's their
own language.
Speaker 5 (01:13:47):
Yeah, that's not accurate. People know how to read.
Speaker 1 (01:13:49):
I'm just saying, what what what? What the text are
saying saying my daughter is uh, let's say interested, What
was it saying. All I'm saying is that my son
in law is deaf. Every time sign language is their
own language, it's not word for word, it's not even
remotely the same. A lot of them would not know
the words on the screen.
Speaker 5 (01:14:10):
Okay, I think deaf people can read, y'all. I'm sorry, all.
Speaker 1 (01:14:14):
Right, I just.
Speaker 4 (01:14:16):
We're not somebody said, scientist said, we're not against death,
and we're not against interpreters, and we're just saying sometimes
they're so Now the blind have had a hard time here.
Speaker 1 (01:14:24):
Yeah, they're so distracted, distractive.
Speaker 4 (01:14:27):
It's just like it's tough to pay attention.
Speaker 1 (01:14:28):
I mean, it got to be around up, says. My
daughter is an interpreter. I try not to. Does she
get all cranked up like that, lady? Oh, Greg, I
don't know. I'm I heard that's a requirement that that
you're you're supposed to do that. So I'm just saying something,
and that may be a good reason to do it,
but I'm just going to be honest. I can't concentrate
on what's going understood. That's all I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (01:14:51):
Back to what's in that point really important, and that
is how in the world this this shooter just got
away and out and gone. And there's very little footage.
They claim this this halls and old halls that has
nothing to do that. You can have great footage in
the old halls that has nothing to do with it.
There's all kinds of video cameras around campus. It's like
(01:15:13):
he knew where to go, how to act. He shows
up on a weekend to a class. If you're a
mass shooter, don't you go to a big part of
campus and open fire, which is awful to even think of.
But you're going to a weekend study class. It's like
it was a target of somebody in the class.
Speaker 1 (01:15:31):
Yes, we'll be right back. You stay clod up.
Speaker 8 (01:15:36):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 1 (01:15:44):
The update that we just got on the Round University
horror wole situation. It is just bizarre the way they're
handling it. It's almost like they they're afraid to say
anything that might offend, and once again, worrying about offending
people seems to be taking precedent over seeking justice for
(01:16:06):
people who are murdered in cold blood. But so we'll
see where this ends up. You know, Adler mentioned something
about somebody on the on the website, but now we
won't get into all that if they're not talking about
that yet, Dad, But I thought that was an interesting
point you were making.
Speaker 5 (01:16:21):
Yeah, there's a person that went to the school as
a Palaced Free Palestine activist. Uh, and their pictures and
profiles have all been scrubbed from the Brown website. And
the physical physical characteristics of the footage that we saw
of the shooter that the FBI have has released to
me they are close, uh, kind of a more portly
(01:16:45):
kind of person that we saw and so that may
that may be a lead. And then witnesses also reported
some words that the person was the shooter was shouting yeah,
and Brown police and officials have refused to elaborate on
that as well.
Speaker 1 (01:17:01):
So Ander, Also, I'm looking at video two. What in
the world is there a movie coming out next year
about the first Lady?
Speaker 5 (01:17:12):
Yes, and it's from her at the releast she was
involved in it, She tweeted out Malania. Trump tweeted out Milania.
The film is exclusively in theaters worldwide January thirtieth, twenty
twenty six.
Speaker 1 (01:17:27):
And the movie is about Milania correct her story, how
she came. It's a documentary. What is Yeah? What do
we got here?
Speaker 5 (01:17:35):
I think it's like some behind the scenes documentary stuff trailer.
Speaker 1 (01:17:40):
If you say, we'll look at some of this here.
Speaker 12 (01:17:42):
Here we go again.
Speaker 1 (01:17:48):
Showing highlights.
Speaker 5 (01:17:50):
Oh wow, mgim yeah you can come go.
Speaker 1 (01:17:54):
One of them will be that peace.
Speaker 5 (01:18:00):
We see the show up say that ye witness Uh
a lot of behind the scenes, witness history.
Speaker 1 (01:18:07):
Okay, mhm.
Speaker 5 (01:18:11):
In the making.
Speaker 8 (01:18:11):
We'd like minded leaders, we have a voice?
Speaker 1 (01:18:17):
Is it safe? A lot of scenes okay? Okay? Uh
so it's uh. Everyone wants to their sons tall let me.
Speaker 16 (01:18:34):
Hi, mister president.
Speaker 1 (01:18:35):
Congratulations, I did not Yeah, I will see it on
the news. Yeah, I see it on the news. It's
like our wives see the show. It's just kind of bizarre,
it is. It feels a little strange. Of course, you
know what's your exactly. Some people were asking to us too,
and I saw all the texta day. I'll tell you
who did not direct it, and I'd be Rob Runner.
(01:18:57):
Uh that no, no, that that's from that.
Speaker 16 (01:19:00):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (01:19:01):
We and we had the audio earlier we never got
Somebody was asking today, what do you guys think about
the president's response to Rob Ronner's murder? And I thought
it was but he needs I know he's not coachable,
but that was horrible. I mean, you talk about just
and to me, that one is so elementary, you know,
(01:19:24):
it's just so elementary that if somebody's been you know, slaughtered,
you know, in cold blood by what's apparently looks like
and they have charged him with it, we'll see their
own son who's had issues. It really doesn't matter how
they if they've been mean to you, they've said bad
(01:19:45):
things about you, they oppose you politically, under no circumstance
is it ever appropriate. I mean that he should have
just said, look, I know that we were of political opponents.
I know he certainly didn't vote for me and had
some negative things to say about me, But in this
(01:20:06):
moment that it really doesn't matter. What's happened to him
and his wife is a horror. It is a tragedy,
and it's heartbreaking that this would take place, and we
are as a country and me as a human being,
are praying for his family and all associated with this.
It's just a horrible thing that that would have been fine.
(01:20:30):
Uh the just the lack of the understanding of some
of the things he said and make clear that he
didn't like him, and you know, start talking to him
about him having Trump Duranne syndrome. You know, that's just
not the time. Just but but this, I guess the
thing that is so you're just playing into the hands
(01:20:53):
also of those people who want to portray you as
being heartless, unfeeling, a dictator, a narcissist, you know, all
those all those things there there that you should be
America should be afraid of you. Uh not, you know it,
(01:21:14):
and all that is is ridiculous. But when you do
things like this, you just hand all those who oppose you,
and they're just going to play those clips over and
over again pointing out to how heartless and cold, you sounded,
and you betrayed yourself. And really it's it's if for
no other reason, I know you can't be re elected.
(01:21:34):
If but if for no other reason, you know, you're
you're hurting those that are going to be following you
in the same party and trying to carry on the
things that you have done that have been good for
the country and good for the world. You're you're you
got to think bigger then you've got you're mad at
somebody because they were mean to you. You you you've
(01:21:56):
got to be able to look beyond that. And and
I know that's hard as human beings, trust me, I
know very all full well. But in that one, I
didn't even think that was a hard one. Now you
know that that should that should have been a very
easy You know what to do right here, don't you,
mister President? Of course I do. I'm not going to
(01:22:16):
say anything other than this is a horrible thing, because
it is a horrible thing.
Speaker 6 (01:22:21):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:22:21):
And though I disagree with Rob Reiner on a lot
of things politically and and and morally, I also have
to acknowledge that I have enjoyed his work and and
enjoyed him as a human being. I found him to
be entertaining. I found his work to be very good,
and I think I could carry on a conversation with
(01:22:42):
him and and have a good day with him, you know,
even though we would disagree on a lot of things
politically and disagree on some of the things that he
allegedly you know, was was, you know, the allegations he
made about the president. But in that moment, yeah, like
you said that, that's not hard. I mean, it's not
even a I mean, you shouldn't be you should be
(01:23:03):
you know kind if they died, they lived a long
life and died of old age. But the way they
were killed and the situation they were killed in, it
just calls for clear thinking and and just some grace. Yeah,
you know. And uh, and it was just I thought
he handled that horribly. Yeah, it was disappointing. Yeah. Yeah,
(01:23:27):
I don't think there's any any going Oh yeah, you
can't make it. He did the right thing, and one
person say that, no he did. He didn't handle that
well at all. Yeah. Uh, top of the hour. We'll
be back much more to do, I understand. We just
had a we have a situation in the kitchen. Oh yeah, yeah, Rahan,
(01:23:51):
I'll wet. What happened just bad timing? Well you mean
bad timing. Well, you know a lot of times people
will when they get the last one, they'll leave the
pot on there, empty with the burner on. I thought
that's what happened. But what it actually happened is Buck
Wilde had been through there and was making a new pot. Oh,
and I thought, so I went, filled it up, dumped
(01:24:13):
it in there. Well, if you dump it in there twice,
it's a foot it overflows. So wait a minute, water
just started fell into perfect place. Those of you that
when we say this, they don't know what we're talking about,
and we say Buck Wilde, uh legend. It is a legend,
radio legend and our radio brother. And he doesn't always
do his show from here, right, but he does a
(01:24:35):
couple of times a week. And when he's here he'll
participate in the coffee. The coffee. He can be a
little reckless with the coffee. Hey, you better like it's stout.
I know the coffee is very very stout. When Buck
Wilde it makes the coffee. So what happened was Buck
Wilde had already put water in it for another pot. Yeah,
I hadn't started coming out yet, so I thought, well,
(01:24:57):
somebody left the burn around with the empty pot. He
went in, filled it up and dumped it in there,
and when I did not good.
Speaker 4 (01:25:03):
He was holding court.
Speaker 1 (01:25:04):
He had his speech about how people leave it on.
Oh did you start log like you thought somebody did it? Yeah?
You old Buck Waldon followed and slid the top part out.
I would have seen it. Just how big a mess?
Pretty big? This worse because we caught it. We've done
it before and it went all the way off the
other side. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:25:21):
We came in here and sat down, didn't We started
picking up things off the counter and chasing it with
paper titles just tough.
Speaker 1 (01:25:26):
Have you ruined Buck Wilder's coffee?
Speaker 4 (01:25:28):
Well know, yeah, he took the last part of the
previous Uh, he's took He took the last cup of
the previous pot and was making a new one, and
he was he went off and I hope this is
strong enough, because he likes a strong and so Greg
mumbled somethingbody, I'm.
Speaker 13 (01:25:44):
Making no, and don't worry about it. But I burned
down after he does it, and he said, I sorry, Burke. Wow,
So so again is that pot is?
Speaker 1 (01:25:57):
That is that part. Yeah, he asked me. Man, he said,
I don't know speed. He was in military.
Speaker 6 (01:26:05):
So the.
Speaker 1 (01:26:08):
You got you got duty this week. I like I
like that jacket. Jerty's got so uh the fun. It's
his only brother. But you couldn't help it.
Speaker 2 (01:26:17):
You got it in there.
Speaker 1 (01:26:18):
It's almost always in acres. I started, I started rumbling
a little. You got a messings?
Speaker 16 (01:26:23):
That is that?
Speaker 1 (01:26:27):
He talk pretty much? Did you is the is that
pot of coffee over? Oh? Yeah, it's got it's a whole.
It's not a good thing. That's not what's the state
of the company. What's the state of the toffee pot?
Speaker 10 (01:26:37):
Right?
Speaker 1 (01:26:37):
What? What?
Speaker 10 (01:26:38):
What?
Speaker 1 (01:26:39):
Greg? That? Greg's running out way you girl, I better
start writing another master bound down after doing.
Speaker 4 (01:26:45):
It, he was He went into his com paper was, hey, people,
leave us home, get some crystalizers on the bottom, you know,
gets his speech and then everything and then realize that.
Speaker 1 (01:26:59):
He was he was on. He was wow on me.
He was actually dripping. Okay, pod he burn Hey at
times he can be reckless with that coffee. Oh yeah,
now he'll blame others in a drop of Oh.
Speaker 4 (01:27:10):
In a second, right, but there's so many paper towels
it looks like it looks like you're cleaning up a
mess on the aisle three in there. So the bottom
line is we are not gonna have coffee anytime soon.
Speaker 1 (01:27:22):
Uh no, No, appreciate that. Probably fifteen twenty. Uh so, so, Adler,
the some of the things that that we have here,
This father going viral for teaching his newborn son how
hard life will be as a Jets fan owns me
on video ten. Yes, so when you have that, let
(01:27:45):
me know because I think, I mean, you know, there's
always an argument who has the most miserable fan base.
I was in there? Is it? Okay?
Speaker 4 (01:27:53):
And how about this Greg also has one speed? He
could the house could be on fire, and he's gonna
have that strut.
Speaker 1 (01:27:59):
He's still going to have that stay come, buddy, he's
got he's got a future being a policeman in Australia. Yeah,
might burn up going to have that same strut. So, yeah,
it's working progress in there, still going everywhere. Well, we
did turn it off, so if we had no I
(01:28:20):
think it'll fill up and then it'll keep going. Okay,
it's a mass. Okay, sorry buddy, So it's okay, buddy,
it's not Buck Walds fault. No, it's on me. It
was this bad timing everything found Greg. Look a look, clubs,
I tell you downright, I'm making so now Greg, and
now you've joined us is good. Listen to this father,
(01:28:42):
it's going viral, teaching his newborn son how hard his
life will be as a Jets fan.
Speaker 5 (01:28:46):
And and he's reading them a kid's book. He's reading
them a kid's book called Jets one oh one. So
I guess there's you know, books like this, books like
this for everybody or every team. I should say, but uh,
he's the kid looks like they can barely crawl, and
the dad is a Jets fan reading to the kid,
And I don't know what is still rolling. So I
have to kill that really quick.
Speaker 1 (01:29:09):
Country Christmas? Do you play country? Christians Christmas? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (01:29:13):
Yeah, I gotta cover when y'all know.
Speaker 1 (01:29:15):
I didn't know. You go country. That's surprises.
Speaker 5 (01:29:17):
When you're going country, I go country too. When you're
going Christmas, I go Christmas.
Speaker 1 (01:29:24):
All right, here we go, guys.
Speaker 10 (01:29:27):
We haven't won the Super Bowl since sineteen sixty eight,
and it's twenty twenty five, the year you were born.
Speaker 8 (01:29:34):
Mister Reeves.
Speaker 10 (01:29:35):
Best player that got in Jets uniform. This is the
worst stadium in all the NFL. Literally, but we were
good back in this picture.
Speaker 8 (01:29:45):
I promise Dad used to all the games.
Speaker 10 (01:29:47):
Three game extra points are one, field goals are three.
Touchdowns are six. We don't get a lot of touchdowns.
Give a lot of touchdowns of this defense. We win
the game in the trenches. We have a really good
old line right now. But our quarterback thinks if we're
drafting one this year. The fact that Josh McCown is
even in this book is a joke. I obviously couldn't
(01:30:07):
name five worst Jets to be in this book. Once
you know Lorenzo maul then.
Speaker 1 (01:30:14):
Oh I know.
Speaker 9 (01:30:17):
That's John.
Speaker 10 (01:30:18):
He needs to die in order for us.
Speaker 8 (01:30:20):
To be good again. Sucks to say.
Speaker 1 (01:30:23):
It is the truth.
Speaker 10 (01:30:25):
That's worse so curse that's ever been on the franchise.
He sold his soul for the Super Bowl and super
Bowl three, and that's literally the epitome of Jets history.
Draft pick won't fill this out this year in April.
That's it.
Speaker 1 (01:30:38):
That's all we got the owner before gonna be good again.
Speaker 5 (01:30:45):
Oh you think I think he said Broadway Joe.
Speaker 1 (01:30:47):
Yeah, because he said that Broadway Joe sold his soul.
Yes to win the Super Bowl, but the Jets can't
win another until he dies. I guess that's okay. I
thought I didn't know about the the Broadway Joe curse.
Speaker 4 (01:31:03):
Yeah, a lot of fan bases that can relate to that.
Just pick your fan base.
Speaker 1 (01:31:09):
One of the jetsus, I have no idea. One of
the worst Jets we were in. He couldn't believe he
was in there. Jets fans, I don't know how y'all
keep doing it. How you keep coming back tough year
after year and they'll run somebody. Yeah, Hey, Rick here
