Speaker 1 (00:58):
Let's go America? Another show is underway.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
The question before you Are you ready?

Speaker 1 (01:13):
Are you ready? Are you ready?

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Alabama ready, Pennsylvania ready, Kentucky ready, never ready. There's Detroit again,
the rock City. Come on with it, everybody, Detroit.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
Rock City.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
Somebody shout back, Hey birds, I'm ready.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
Montgomery rolling in Brundridge, is rolling in fight, rolling in
all over the state of Alabama. There, and there's Kentucky again, Tennis, Georgia.
As we all are preparing ourselves for another day, in
another week. And of course you got Ander, you got Speedy,

(02:09):
you got Greg. They're all here, They're already testing one two,
back from the weekend.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
What up test?

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Heello fellows, Oh, Tello fellas check one, I checked two.
We have so much to cover on the program today
since we were away, and some of it is some
of it's going to be a lot of fun. We've
got another right again with Greg Burgess today. Can you
go head to head with Greg and maybe get a
spin on that wheel of Yeah, it could happen. We

(02:38):
could get bundles, bits, or we could get bucks. The
wheel's been a little cold, but today, if you're able
to be right with Greg and roll correctly with him
for three questions, you'll get a spin on the wheel.
So we'll do that. We also have a lot to
cover from the weekend. The NFL draft just got weirder
after we went into the weekken. We have been a

(03:02):
lot of places over the weekend, so we'll cover that,
and we have a very active week coming up this week.
You've got April thirtieth is the cutoff for Make Mama
Smile Again, So if you haven't got your mother turned
in to be considered maybe making the final three for
Dudney and the Gang, you need to do that obviously

(03:23):
before Wednesday. So and just for contest right there at
Rick Burgessshow dot Com. Also this week, looking forward to
the weekend, Lord Willing, Blake Prime and I from Team
Manchurch will go to Almaha, Nebraska at Westside Baptist Church.
They have a men's gathering this weekend. They have been

(03:45):
doing Themanchurch dot com our men's discipleship strategy. This is
their next gathering and Blake Prime will be speaking there
on Saturday. Their weekend actually starts on Friday night, but
Blake and I'll be speaking on Saturday, Lord Willing those
to tell at Themanchurch dot Com under events. So we
do have a lot to gather. It looks like we

(04:05):
may have a vox verdict today, Adler. You and I
saw that email over the weekend, so we probably have
that happening today too. So so much to unpack. I
think the question that kind of sits out in front
of us right now if you want to, I mean,
if you just everywhere you were going, it seemed to
be this ongoing discussion is what is the deal with
Shadoor Sanders? How any world the seeduor Sanders Chauduur just

(04:32):
just struggling with that as well. How does he how
can mail kiper junior say that Shaduur Sanders is a
first round draft pick, maybe the first or at least
second quarterback to be taken in the in the first round,
and he didn't. Not only did not get drafted in
the first round, he also didn't get drafted in the
second round, and then ends up getting drafted in the

(04:54):
third round. And then as if his life was fourth,
it was late. It was one hundred and forty fourth
or something like that. But anyway, I remember, I mean
the first thing I thought of, as if he had
not already had a tough time. He was eventually taken
by the Browns, and I thought, well, he just I mean,
how much worse can it get for Sanders? Now he's

(05:14):
stuck on the Browns with what about five other quarterbacks?

Speaker 3 (05:17):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (05:17):
Yeah, the Browns. I mean they read the list of
quarterbacks on the roster currently, Yes, and it's a bunch.
So even Joe Flack I was in there. Yeah, the
question before us today, I thought it was the fifth round.
I didn't tell you. I thought it was fifth. Yeah.
I stopped. I stopped keeping up after the second round,
and then I saw he had been drafted, so I
just assumed it must have been the third Oh it was. Yeah,

(05:38):
he was in the fifth round at and I.

Speaker 4 (05:40):
Think the Browns traded up to get him in the
fifth oh my, because they okay, they read that quarterback
from Oregon and yeah, these were you know, because they
raced season that they were talked about in the top five,
both of them. And the half hearted clap when they
got him was like, and that guy on social media like, Okay,
what's up with that?

Speaker 1 (06:00):
Are you okay? After the prank call? No, that's tough
right there.

Speaker 4 (06:03):
And then you figure out, you know, for those of
you do not know Schudor he streamed live his his
I guess draft party or speed whatever, and he was
pranked during that live feed and it was captured and
who did it and the story behind it it gets
even given even more strange, well updated, Its actually a

(06:26):
coach's son from another team.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
I must have been sent that video a thousand times,
all asking his speedy, speedy scenes. It even bothered Greg.
I told Greg about it before the shore. Yeah, and
I think I saw Greg get second embarrassment, which I've
never seen. So fifth round, see, I didn't, It's I
didn't even know there were five rounds. So so anyway,

(06:48):
I guess when I saw one hundred and forty four,
I couldn't figure out when that was. But that's that's
awful late. And of course you start grabbing all the
stories you know about people who you know have been
the last pick in the draft, and they showed it
everybody and and so.

Speaker 4 (07:02):
Well there was you. He mentioned mel kiper Jr. There
was a weird back and forth. Reeche Davis was hosting
the panel that was breaking everything down, and mel kiper Jr.
Just couldn't understand because he's like physically, as far as
the numbers go and his ability, he is the best
quarterback in the draft, him and cam Ward and he

(07:24):
just he was beside himself that it went that he
went that far down. He couldn't believe it, and he said,
something is going on here. And then Reeese Davis it
was kind of a little bit of an argument. He
did argument there on the panel as to you know, well, yeah,
it is what it is, but now he's got to
prove himself and go on from here. Will yeah, but
mel kiper Jr. Just could not get past it.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
There was a time when everything for Shudor Sanders was
in the hands of other people. It's now in his
own hands. He's certainly not hurting for money. So I
know it cost him a lot of money, but he's
not hurting for money. And if he does well, he
will eventually get a big pay day. If he does well,
and then if he doesn't, then all those that you

(08:06):
know passed over him. You know that, you have the
Tom Brady story and what was the kid from San
Francisco that was the last pick and then they and
you know he can be one of those. There's others,
but it's all up to him now. But boy, the Browns,
he's got some competition. He does. He does a lot
of quarterbacks. You know what's this year it came in.

(08:28):
It's not just these two that I'm fixing mentioned obvious
and and Shadeer what's his name? And then quinn Ewers
they taking a big pay cut. I mean, yours went
way late, and then uh obviously Sanders did too. But
even even Milroe took a pay cut. They're talking about
he would be he was making like too many and Bama,

(08:48):
he'll make one. Mellion. This was not a quarterback friendly draft.
I'm just saying that with this new ni A, all
this is funny. These kids are taking a pay cut
to go play in the NFL. Yeah, yeah, they really are.
And and they can get a payday if they if
they perform, but they're not going to get one early
and they'll we'll see how committed to the game of
football they are and how good they really are. Yeah,

(09:11):
you know the giants who gets the best competition in
the world. Who took dart from Old Miss They they've
come out and somebody has talked about Shador Sanders interview
with him, how poorly it had gone. Yep, and so
did another team just kind of disinterested and unprofessional. Well
and so, But again, I don't know. I'm not blaming

(09:32):
it on that. It could be the Dion fact. I
don't have a clue, but it's a head scratcher. I
just think that they don't figure he's good enough to
overcome the baggage that comes with him. I mean, yeah,
maybe that's it. You know, it's a good enough If
he was a little better, maybe they would. I don't know.
We'll be back more of The Rick Burgess Show continuing
run after this.

Speaker 5 (09:53):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
So let's take a moment to talk about where we
are right now as a country. So but look, this
is good news to be honest. Conservatives are winning, The
movement is gaining ground, people are waking up, the narratives cracking.
The momentum is finally shifting. But here's where we need
not to make a mistake. The fight's not over, not
even done. I mean it's not even close. So we're

(10:24):
not done. That's why Blaze TV exists because in a
world that is full of noise, how about we need
a stronghold, a stronghold for bold voices, freethinkers, fearless commentary
that helps make sense of the chaos. At Blaze TV,
we build a home for some of the strongest, smarted
voices in conservative media, people who tell it like it is,

(10:46):
ask tough questions of things you know the mainstream media
won't touch, and they're not afraid, you know, to go
in and say, I question this narrative. I'd like to
see if this is something that actually has any sort
of validity. Now, when you scribe to Blaze TV, you're
not just watching content, You're supporting a movement. You're backing

Unafraid and own demand. Looking back over the draft, everybody,

(11:56):
pretty much I think is in the if. Really this
is pretty logical. I know that mel Copper Junior was
having a conneption, but he's he's not taking into account
something we've talked about so many times, and that is
you can't be crazier than you are fine. And I
believe that these teams did these interviews. We saw this

(12:16):
even on the movie draft day. It's a lot more
than athletic ability. There's a lot of people have athletic ability,
but you're thinking to yourself, all right, so his dad
and I have respect for Deanon Sanders, but a lot
of what he did did not help his son at all.
You go out and start saying there's only about five
teams you want him to play for, Well that that
doesn't that doesn't help what was wrong with Hey man,

(12:39):
we're just looking forward. I mean that Shader is excited
about any team that would give him the opportunity to
prove himself, and that'd be We're just so thankful to
get any opportunity. I mean, it's a pretty big deal
to get an opportunity to play in the NFL. But
we didn't get that. We got, Hey, there's certain teams
that we that were interested in. We wouldn't really wanted
to play for just anybody. Yeah, there was a tendency

(12:59):
by the interviews from what we can gather, that Shuder
thought that the team should be thrilled to have him
versus him being thrilled for a team to give him
a chance. I think those things they matter. And I
think if I was sitting there coaching, or I'm a
general manager, and let's say the coach had a word
of course, Greg, you know how we were raised. I
picture my our dad in this situation, and I could

(13:23):
just see me sitting there going, guys, look, he's good,
but he's not good enough that you know. I'm gonna
have Dion Sanders, you know, doing interviews about what offense
I've got him in. I'm gonna have Dion Sanders saying
we need to go out and get better offensive lineman
for a son. That's gonna be our world. And honestly,
I don't want to live in that world. We got
other options, I think, I think, I mean, what else

(13:46):
could it be? Guys? This is not like I found
some discovery. If you're should Door Sanders and you don't
get picked to the one hundred and forty fourth pick,
then it's not your ability because your ability should at
least had you going in the second third. I mean
something this year. Let's say you're not a first rounder,
but you should have been a second rounder. Uh, if
they if they passing you to the point that the Browns,

(14:08):
who don't even need quarterbacks, go we'll take him. We didn't.
We didn't think he'd be here. Yeah, they had already
drafted a corner. Then then it had more to do
with that your character or how they look. I'm not
saying let's perceive for some young people. I was stupid
when I was young. People learning, they get better. But
in his current state, the way he portrayed himself hurt him,
and probably a lot of what his daddy said hurt him. Yeah,

(14:32):
and and they paid a price for that. And now
it's gonna be they've eaten a little humble pie. And
now maybe he can get out there and and go
out there, You'll be a great story, proof that everybody
who passed on you was wrong and that the Browns
made a good choice. And go out there and make
something happen. Now, I'm sorry you have to play for
that round. I'm sorry you have to pay pay for
the Browns adds insult to injury. Yeah, as a matter

(14:53):
of fact, maybe we should. And just a football sense,
not not in life, but in a football sense. And
it's close to home right now because we're studying it
in the Wednesday Bible study. Uh. I think that it's
possible that that Shudeur Sanders is being tested by God. Yeah,
and just when Shuder thought it was over, he said,
and now you've got to play for the Browns, which
is one level yeah, let's see if you'll renounce right now.

(15:17):
So that's it.

Speaker 6 (15:18):
I hope he goes on to have a career that
is just absolutely legendary.

Speaker 3 (15:23):
That's the brand.

Speaker 1 (15:25):
Okay, buddy, I want to say, hey, might want to
get a job. Then if we have before you get
a brand, do we want to talk about the brank call?
We got to get that. That was wrong, that was funny, wrong,
that's terrible speed. Uh So Friday night.

Speaker 4 (15:48):
I met the Stallion's game and then we'll discuss that later.
And you know, in between some of the on Mike
stuff that I do, we have a little bit of downtime,
right and then all of a sudden, I it one
of the guys there, Davis shout out to you, who's
part of game day. He goes, hey, you're not gonna
believe this. Shador just got pranked. And I said, what
are you talking about? He said, I'm getting word that.

(16:11):
You know, he was live streaming his his little draft
party whatever, and a phone call came through and it
was a prank call. Now we know more about who
was behind the prank call, but it was put out.
The video and audio was put out of the actual prank.

Speaker 3 (16:27):
I got both sides of it.

Speaker 6 (16:28):
Guys at the seat, you got the guy pulling the
prank too, Yes, here's the guy.

Speaker 4 (16:35):
It yeah, yeah, and jack out his shirt and we'll
get into oh yeah, we'll get into who it is.
Who's behind here, right, and who's behind it?

Speaker 6 (16:45):
But I know who the players are. I have not
actually listened to it. I am saving this moment for
the air, so I have not heard the prank called
yet at all. I know who the players are though. Okay,
and this is what Speedy of the Falcons.

Speaker 4 (16:57):
Yeah, the Falcons defensive coordinator's son.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
Yes, and we'll get to that.

Speaker 4 (17:01):
That's that's been Yeah, he was behind the prank. And
how you you wonder how did how did they get
your door's cell phone number? Well, we we know that now,
but at the time it was just we didn't it
just it was it was just pure uh. And we
have a split we have a split screen of the
call and the in su door receiving the call.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
Do we want to do that here?

Speaker 1 (17:24):
Is that?

Speaker 3 (17:24):
Is it clean? Is the actual conversation? Is it clean?

Speaker 1 (17:28):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (17:31):
His buddy's handing on the phone.

Speaker 1 (17:32):
Yeah, oh boy, bless his heart, Greg, Is.

Speaker 7 (17:37):
This this is Mickey loomis here, the Gem of the
New Orleans Saints. My goodness, this is Mackey loomis here,
Jam of the Saints. Oh my god, good hear you? Man?

Speaker 1 (17:56):
Yeah, we have long wait.

Speaker 8 (17:59):
Man.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
We're gonna take you to the next pick right here. Man,
that's terrible, but you're gonna have to wait a little
bit longer. Man, Sorry about that. He just says it's
gonna be legendary too. I didn't know about that, Yeah, Greg,
I'm sorry. I didn't even hear legendary. I would have heard.

(18:21):
That's horrible. No, not seriously. Ain't nobody nobody should They
shouldn't do that. No, Greg, are you that's bad? Y'all? Yeah,
well that is over the line. You talking about kicking
somebody when they're down.

Speaker 3 (18:33):
Frank is legendary. I'll tell you that right now.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
If you as far as pranks ago, Gary, Gary thinks
it's the greatest thing ever. Rick, What if we potted
up and we heard this, Hey, it's just a GM
for that. Gary would love this.

Speaker 6 (18:48):
I mean the Dallas Cowboy, Hey.

Speaker 1 (18:51):
Is this Sheeter? He's still throwing his brand out there.
Legend legendary.

Speaker 6 (18:58):
So I didn't know about the like, how big of
a room he set up for that draft o.

Speaker 1 (19:04):
It looked like the ones that were in Green Bay.

Speaker 6 (19:06):
Yes, and drapes and dis blaze and the organic screen.

Speaker 4 (19:13):
When we come back, we can break down how it
happened and the story behind.

Speaker 1 (19:17):
We know how it happened. But that's awful. That's that
is awful.

Speaker 4 (19:22):
Hell you do you see how quick he put him
on speaker?

Speaker 1 (19:25):
I could hear it. Did you say the other got
run out of the room because you know, yeah, the
second about the sun? Yeah, stole the number? Yeah? Hey
is this she dear?

Speaker 3 (19:37):
There's just so much after the fact. He doesn't know
what to do.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
Hey, yes, Gary vines, Well that I'm with the New
Orleans Change. Well, let me ask these the prankers that
are filming themselves pranking, what was their intention to do
with that? Where they like thought it was funny and
so I mean I got the number, held on to
it just for this moment. What's it happened? We know
everybody involved. Now, Wow, we'll be back more than Rick

(20:08):
Burgess show right after this. So the chuduor Sanders prank
getting picked up in the fifth round, all that we've discussed,
But now down to who did the prank and a
shocker and speedy. I wonder if you and Adler are

(20:30):
surprised as I am, Greg is saying that he feels bad.
I do that he said, this is over the line. Well,
I know you would think that you have a heart.
I know that Alder might think that according to what
mood he's in. But but Gregg's Gregg's really this is
bothering Greg. I mean, it would be different if if
you I mean the guy, I think guy was being

(20:51):
pummeled up to this point. You know it was already bad,
and then you're gonna pile on. So you're saying, you're saying,
kicking a man. We was down. You thought, hey, if
you did this embarrassing and then he got taken right
after you did it. You know, but man, that was
that was wrong. That's bad. All I can think about
now that we know who did it, all I can
think about is just being one of my stupid sons. Yeah,

(21:15):
you've lost your.

Speaker 4 (21:16):
Mind exactly, because that's what I'm thinking of, is a
dad is getting that phone call because according to this story,
his dad didn't know about it until after it happened.
So now he gets the news and then he finds
out who who's behind it, and he realizes that he is.
He he is the source of his son getting the
phone number. And we're talking about coach Jeff Olbrich, the

(21:38):
defensive coordinator for the Falcons. Apparently he's got an iPad
out on his at his house and his son Jack's
was was there earlier in the week, and it was
on the iPad was a list of draft day contact information,
and he saw Shador Sanders's phone number, which was a
new number just for the draft, and he wrote it

(22:02):
down and his dad didn't even know he did that.

Speaker 1 (22:05):
It was it was like in the kitchen, which makes
the prank work even more because Sanders knows this has
got to be somebody from the NFF people number.

Speaker 4 (22:13):
Yeah, And that's one of the things he said. He said,
nobody had. I didn't have my name on the like
associated with the number. It was just a number for
the draft.

Speaker 1 (22:21):
I know it. I may have the brand wrong. But
the people are saying, was it Boost Mobile that provided
these these draft only phones for those that were spoke
that there were had potentially Yeah, anyway, these phones were
only four yeah draft or at least him, Yeah, for
sure for certain people and so picture you're you're the

(22:41):
defense coordinator for the Falcons, and what about when you
see this is what I'm picturing. From a parent point
of view, you see this happen and you probably look
and go, man, that's cold. I can't believe somebody did that,
that kid. And then you find out it was your
kid that did it, that did it and got it,
got him on video and got it off your iPad.
But but the thing is, don't don't think it's the

(23:02):
kid who actually pretended to be with the Saints. The
defensive coordinator's son is over in the He's the one
who brought the number, and he had he had a
Gerald Cats, he had a Gary somebody he knew would
do it. You know, you gotta have that guy. He
provided the number and then also had the friend that
would do it. And and apparently they're going to be legendary.

(23:24):
Apparently they were at Barry College in Georgia. Just because
the kid pretending had an Old Miss shirt on, they
were not he might be an Old Miss fan, it's probably,
but but but they actually were going to college at
Barry College in uh in Georgia, which is over around Rome,
Georgia pre campus it is beautiful, full of deger, so

(23:46):
many deer there. But anyway, Uh, so they did the prank.
So now your dad is a defense coordinator for the Falcons,
and now the NFL is involved. So you've gotten your
dad in trouble with who he works for. You've got
the whole franchising trip out there, and then with the NFL.
And I know how it feels for a prank to

(24:07):
get out of hand. So I understand, do you. Oh, yes, yes,
I do on more than one occasion. Because so don't
think his kid's gonna learn this time, because I didn't
learn the first time. Okay, but but it's that moment
you were so scared, but it Oh it's hard fighting,
but just picture it all coming together. Whoever was the
first person ever go to the dad and say I

(24:29):
think it's your son. Yeah, And he's like what, Yeah,
So did you have your iPad out when he was
home for the weekend? Yeah, I think he got the
number from you.

Speaker 4 (24:38):
So you've had the Atlanta Falcons they've had to issue
a state. Yeah, sure, you've had the dad have to
issue a statement. The NFL is working with the Falcons
on the investigation. But from what is being found is
that the dad really didn't do any wrongdoing. It's it's
on the kitchen, in the kitchen he it's it wasn't
like he didn't do it. He didn't know anything abou

(25:00):
about it. So the Falcons are like, he's not really
in trouble with us. We hate it happened, but the
Sun he had to go on line and issue an
apology because I can't imagine the phone call from dad.
He says on Friday night, I made a tremendous mistake.

Speaker 1 (25:17):
Oh my Shador.

Speaker 4 (25:19):
What I did was completely inexcusable, embarrassing and shameful. I
am so I'm so sorry I took away from your moment.
It was childish and selfish. I could never imagine getting
ready to celebrate one of the greatest moments of your life,
and I made a terrible mistake and messed up at
that moment. Thank you for accepting my call earlier today,

(25:39):
I guess the Sun called Shador. I hope that you
can find it in your heart to forgive me.

Speaker 1 (25:45):
Probably not gonna have no It's gonna be a while.

Speaker 4 (25:49):
The Falcons said that Jack had little samebody that Jack's
had written down a phone number like we talked about
from an iPad that had been left out in the
open at his parents' house. To his dad's defense, he
probably didn't think anybody's writing numbers down, you know, maybe, but.

Speaker 3 (26:06):
He can trust his son, you know that whole thing.

Speaker 1 (26:08):
Yeah, but I was twenty one year old had more
sense than that. Right.

Speaker 4 (26:12):
In a statement that was released by the Falcons and
backs up what we just said, says earlier in the week,
Jax Olbrich, the twenty one year old son of defensive
coordinator Jeff Olbridch, unintentionally came across a draft contact number
for Shador off an open iPad while visiting his parents home.

Speaker 1 (26:29):
He wrote it down later to conduct the prank call.
Oh my goodness.

Speaker 4 (26:33):
Coach Jeff Olbrich was unaware of the data exposure and
any facets of the prank, and was made aware of
the above only after the fact.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
The team said chill Lee, so he called? Do you think?
He called? Said, Hey, Dad, Look, I just got to
own it that I did this. I'm ahead for you
before you far find me. I am struggling because I
see myself as this kid pretty easy and I can
see me do it. Caught up in it, I can
see me doing this sprank. So I'm in kind of
a tough place right now. I said, let me ask

(27:04):
you a question. I mean, it's right. I'm just I'm
just saying I understand how you can. I can picture
me at that age with my friends, and I've got
this number. I can see it.

Speaker 3 (27:14):
Yeah, it's very funny.

Speaker 1 (27:16):
I look at it year old. I'm sorry, I'm not
saying it's right because it's not actually hilarious.

Speaker 3 (27:21):
Now that you mentioned it like that, what I have
done this?

Speaker 1 (27:24):
The answer is absolutely, it's really funny.

Speaker 4 (27:29):
Unfortunately you were an adult when you did this. But
looking back at the farm prank heard around the world,
when you were setting that prank up, it was kind
of funny, wasn't it. The I the idea, And then
after the fact when Scott Dawson's on the phone with
nine one one saying that you've been killed, and you
had to wave at him and go, I'm okay. It's
just at that point he didn't seem too good, did it.

Speaker 1 (27:50):
No, you Edler just added that, don't forget with blood
run down.

Speaker 6 (27:53):
So yeah, because he fled through the woods on a
four wheeler and just through the woods on four wheel
could have goten.

Speaker 1 (27:59):
He was terrifying going back. That man was terrified.

Speaker 4 (28:03):
So to the son and what y'all are saying, and
to the friends, Oh, they thought it was hilarious on
the front end.

Speaker 1 (28:09):
And I could I could feel exactly how he felt
when he got up right out of the round. It
was almost greg. I want to ask this question because
I think I'm trying to get a list with you.
Chadeur being passed in the first round, you say, had
that coming? Yeah, all right, Shadur being passed all the
way to the fifth round had that coming. I think

(28:31):
so the way they said it up prank call, that's tough.
Over the line that what's in this case and some
of the textures are saying, is in this case, if
he plays it right, he can get a little sympathy back.
If he laughs it off, yucks it up real good,
some people may come back and go, he's not that
bad a guy.

Speaker 4 (28:49):
Well, he did talk to Shador did talk to the
Cleveland media, and uh, I'm.

Speaker 1 (28:54):
Just saying the guy was in a free fall. I
mean unprecedented, said make him think he's about to get drafted.
I want you to picture you know, we're there, We're
twenty one, Ur's kiss everywhere and then all of a suden,
somebody says you, you don't call that your the Saints.
Yeah done, There's no doubt WEIGHT have done it. I

(29:15):
know I would have done it. I wouldn't have done it.
I don't feel good about it. I would have been
like him. I would have influenced somebody else to do
it at sixty. I would have took the number at sixty.
I don't feel good about the fact that I would
have done it. But like you said, I can't just
sit here and lie about that, guys. So twenty one
I was I was. I was about this. I was
a minister.

Speaker 3 (29:34):
Society were it.

Speaker 1 (29:36):
Would have been the worst thing I would have done.
We wouldn't even think on that day. Let's say it's
a thirsty I'm just getting started. We'd be excited at
the way we got the number and snug it out.

Speaker 4 (29:47):
You know, Door has made a statement about this to
Cleveland media because you know he's a Brown.

Speaker 1 (29:51):
Now, sorry about that, buddy.

Speaker 4 (29:54):
He said, for I'm a Brown, Yeah, it didn't really
have an impact on me because I was just like,
I mean, okay, like I don't feed into negativity, and
I don't feed into that kind of stuff. It was
it was like childish. It was a childish act. But
everybody does childish things there.

Speaker 1 (30:13):
Okay, he's right about.

Speaker 6 (30:14):
That, guys, I have I have something to tell y'all.
That wasn't the only prank of the draft.

Speaker 1 (30:21):
I know there was two other ones. We discussed that
alfair earlier.

Speaker 3 (30:23):
Isaiah Bond, Yeah, what a call.

Speaker 6 (30:26):
Who he's not been drafted yet, but he got a
call and said he was going to be drafted to
the Falcons.

Speaker 3 (30:31):
There's video a video on the tied end went to
the Colts.

Speaker 1 (30:37):
I think he went in the first round, but he
got They told him something I forgot. For a while,
we're kind of bogging down on this bizarre shuder Sanders
saying from the weekend, because there was so much there,
it did help the ratings. Uh for those watching the draft. Uh,

(30:59):
it was someone from the text Nation. As far as
the prank is concerned, Rick, you would have done it
at sixty years old if you thought it would have
been a great bit for the show. But you know what,
that's there's a lot of truth in that. A lot
of truth in that one. And we're hearing as we're
going to the break. You heard Adler bring it up.
We're hearing that there are a number of people who

(31:20):
were pranked and have been pranked even in the past.

Speaker 3 (31:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (31:25):
Yeah, like last year, there was a prank this year,
the quarterback that was ended up taking by the Eagles,
he said he was pranked. Tyler Warren who was picked
number fourteen overall by the Colts. He was drafted but
then got a call thirty minutes after being drafted saying
had already been traded and that was prank. So, yeah,
there's there's a lot there.

Speaker 1 (31:46):
Franking going on, a lot of frank Well, I think
they note like these No, I think I think the
NFL is going to have to do kind of what
we've often wondered as citizens of the United States of America.
Can we do a better job maybe protecting things that
are supposed to be sensitive and are not supposed to
be available to the public. Don't you think there's going

(32:07):
to be in everybody up? Hey, coaches don't have your iPad.
I mean, watch what's going on. Who getting these numbers
and who gets some you.

Speaker 4 (32:15):
Know you would think, I mean, if if a coach
has his iPad out on the kitchen table. It's not
like he's you know, it's at Starbucks and went to
the bathroom and left it open, and people just walking
by saying, you would think at home it would be
all right.

Speaker 3 (32:30):
Yeah, I guess you would think.

Speaker 1 (32:31):
That's the one place you didn't. I guess I'm speaking
to the fact that this has happened more than once. Yeah,
apparently I agree with you on that one. But apparently
they're not. They need they need to tighten up a
little bit. Yeah, yeah, and uh, and then.

Speaker 6 (32:45):
That's the Browns draft they're about to announce it. That's
why I'm showing that.

Speaker 1 (32:48):
Yeah. And then behind it, what are you talking about?

Speaker 4 (32:50):
That's a bone, that's that's like a dog pound, just
unfortunately showing the bottom half of the bottle.

Speaker 1 (32:57):
And maybe that you're went with pre color, uh for
or just maybe maybe the cameraman pan out a little bit.

Speaker 4 (33:04):
He's got a tight he's got a tight shot.

Speaker 1 (33:07):
Right.

Speaker 3 (33:08):
Yeah, seriously, who put the bone vertically? Let's put it sideways.

Speaker 1 (33:12):
I don't know that's a big bone there. Yeah. For
a minute, I looked up and I thought I got
it bouncing for I don't know why that, but I
first looked and saw that I thought, what is this
Anderson Cooper's birthday? That's yeah, it's like you're hitting.

Speaker 3 (33:52):
Do you all want the other prying?

Speaker 1 (33:54):
What you got the other one? Which which one you?

Speaker 3 (33:57):
Isaiah Bond?

Speaker 1 (33:59):
Well, you know you know who made that call, don't you?
That was Dicky Nadmir.

Speaker 6 (34:03):
Oh my goodness, Hello, is this is this Isaiah Bone?

Speaker 1 (34:08):
So it's just coachnad me. I don't know what we're
pranking people. We're gonna let well, we got a video,
right so we can be fine.

Speaker 8 (34:14):
You decided the number, You decided to leave the Tide
to go to Texas for what reason? To increase your
draft value where that doesn't really worked out to just
stayed there with the Tide tag.

Speaker 6 (34:30):
So he yeah, like you guys said he was, he's
still undrafted and here he is being pranked.

Speaker 1 (34:36):
Oh sadly, it's terrible. What's going on. It's gonna go
out myself pretty good, pretty good. It's a it's terribly
from Atlanta Falcons. No, this is terrible. I'm gonna give

(34:58):
the phone.

Speaker 4 (34:58):
Arthur blank right now, but we're gonna be to put
the picking.

Speaker 8 (35:04):
That's good.

Speaker 1 (35:04):
That's good. That's good news. That's good news. You're gonna
getting a ball and just no doubt I'm coming to work,
o Greg.

Speaker 6 (35:16):
They even got him to say roll tiede because he
was confused. I'm sure you know you're not expecting a
roll tide, so you say it back.

Speaker 1 (35:25):
I know it. I know this is destroying speedy, Greg,
but the reaction you're getting is bizarre to me. That's crazy.

Speaker 3 (35:32):
I'm okay.

Speaker 4 (35:33):
I'm okay with a prank, like give me a phone.
We're in the problem at the farm. Look, I got
no teeth shooting at us.

Speaker 1 (35:40):
But you prank.

Speaker 4 (35:41):
Somebody about their livelihood and how they make a living,
that's okay.

Speaker 1 (35:46):
Well, I just don't know. That's just that's just boy.
That's tough right there.

Speaker 9 (35:50):
Man.

Speaker 3 (35:51):
He was saying he was coming to work.

Speaker 1 (35:53):
I hope all those coming to work like this is coaching.
Ed Marrion with the Falcon Let me get a road tag.

Speaker 5 (36:00):
Shouldn't have left, should you?

Speaker 1 (36:02):
So he's been I guess a free agent. He signed
a free agent contract, Isaiah. I don't know. I don't
know what's going on. I know what. The Falcons didn't
take him. I'll tell you that they do not. Arthur
Blank didn't get on the phone. We took off run.
So you're not this is this is really bothering you? No,
I mean it's not that bad now, those of you
that don't understand why these idiots are video on themselves

(36:25):
because if you don't have proof of your friends.

Speaker 6 (36:27):
That we're good.

Speaker 1 (36:27):
Now, I don't think about what's going to happen. You
think I'm not sick that we didn't have a go
pro in Gary's hat. I can't even sleep it not sometimes.
In fact, we didn't document that or that would have
been if guys, if y'all could have seen their reaction,
it's been awesome. How about this if we had just
somehow captured the video?

Speaker 3 (36:42):
All?

Speaker 1 (36:43):
Oh, I can't imagine. So I understand why they're video
it and that's getting them all busted, that is, But
y'all get it right. But I but I will say that, man, hey,
if I'd had a go pro on the tip of
my hat, we'd had some video. I'm telling you, well,
he's right about that, Yes, sir, Yes, that Mark Garnett
unable to get the four wheeler in the ear and

(37:05):
he kept popping wheelis while while losing control of certain
things in your body. Mm hmm. Dawson who was a
little gingerly on the four wheeler all of a sudden
becomes a speed demon and goes to a pine thicket
wide open. Yeah. I'm still not sure how you got that.
You understand a mile because he's done a lot of

(37:29):
work for God. But you know, Adler, I get that.

Speaker 4 (37:32):
You know, shooting at somebody is bad.

Speaker 1 (37:35):
I do get that.

Speaker 4 (37:36):
But game changer, But a prank to somebody that, I mean,
that's that's what they've worked for, and that's.

Speaker 1 (37:43):
What's going World one.

Speaker 4 (37:44):
And don't forget not only everybody, and the relief he
had to be feeling just for that that the can.

Speaker 3 (37:50):
Hear him smile, You can hear him smile, and.

Speaker 4 (37:52):
You know, I hope he goes on to have the
most amazing NFL career ever. Yeah, it looks back at
this and goes, yeah, over the line.

Speaker 6 (38:00):
Well, he was projected. I was just doing some reading.
He was projected to go in the first round. Actually
Isaiah Bond, but weakenss or so ago. He had some
accusations come out against him. He was arrested. He had
to replace Bond and correct. So he has counter sued
that person too. So that charge out there.

Speaker 1 (38:18):
That charge hurd him that gum didn't know that. I
didn't m so well.

Speaker 3 (38:25):
So until just now. That's uncomfortable a little bit.

Speaker 9 (38:27):
It is.

Speaker 1 (38:28):
It is Top of the Hour. So there you go.
I think we've recapped that pretty good for you. I'm uncomfortable.

Speaker 3 (38:38):
I am too.

Speaker 1 (38:38):
I feel like I've been.

Speaker 3 (38:41):
I feel like them, don't.

Speaker 1 (38:45):
I don't. I'm conflicted in so many ways. Top of
the Hour NASCAR's Josh Berry. Uh, you know we always
show that time that Randy Johnson killed a bird with Yes, well,
try nobody can throw a ball one hundred and ninety
miles an hour. Try one hundred and ninety miles an

(39:05):
hour in your bird.

Speaker 6 (39:08):
This is pretty I mean, it just tells you how
fast they're going. But this is graphic.

Speaker 3 (39:12):
I mean really yeah, I mean it's coming on. Do
you think we can't even see the bird?

Speaker 6 (39:16):
It's just bird soup on the window, okay and the birds?

Speaker 1 (39:21):
Oh wow, that bird ghost.

Speaker 4 (39:23):
You never knew, you know, the last thing went through
his mind?

Speaker 1 (39:26):
I do, yes, I do. I do know that.

Speaker 3 (39:29):
Oh that was a bird. That's a bird, you know.

Speaker 1 (39:34):
I'm like, when I'm going you know, seventy, I see
what it does to bugs exactly, but one hundred and
ninety does the same thing to a full bird. For
those you at home, I must warn you that was
a bird.

Speaker 6 (39:47):
Do they have Do they have wind shy a wipe
or fluid on those nascars or no?

Speaker 1 (39:51):
Well they you got to rip they put them off.

Speaker 4 (39:54):
Yeah, poor poor poor guy on their crew has to
rip that off next time he comes.

Speaker 1 (40:00):
Did you see all right? I don't know.

Speaker 4 (40:03):
I didn't get to watch a lot of the race
on Sunday, but I did see a pit crew member
get hit on pit road by one of the tires
or whatever. One of the The driver kind of wasn't
all the way in the box and he was kind
of out a little bit, so he had to run out,
and the guy that was in front of them was

(40:23):
trying to get in and knocked him in on top
on top of the hood and Josh Barry.

Speaker 3 (40:30):
It was Josh Berry. So he hit a bird and
a crew member.

Speaker 9 (40:35):
So as we're showing this, yeah far out of the box,
he pits as he's coming around Sindric here watch his
tire carrier. Josh Berry's coming in the twenty one car.
But look how far out? Oh wow, it's hip man
that's gotta hurt. But I put that on. You see
this line right here where the host of are supposed
to be the outside of his box too far. A

(40:58):
lot of times this right here is.

Speaker 4 (41:01):
The guide for them talking about how heavy those tires
are too, and how bad that had.

Speaker 9 (41:05):
To hurtide of that line, but this car.

Speaker 1 (41:07):
Is way out to by the way, he sucked it
up pretty good. Yeah, Well, they talked that.

Speaker 4 (41:11):
They talked to him after this happened, and he ended
up being okay. But they were talking about all the
guys on these crews, about how athletic they are in
their background and a lot of them have NFL background whatever.
He played it in c State and he was a
heck of a player, and he said, Man, I've been
tell you I've taken so many hits. I'm alright, I'm
all right, you know. But he kind of played it

(41:31):
off a little bit. But they were just talking about
how athletic those guys are.

Speaker 1 (41:34):
By the way, I've never seen anybody grab their hips
so fast, so fast. Yeah, you know, like you and
you were dancing.

Speaker 4 (41:42):
I don't know if you ever looked very similar, if
you've if you've carried around with those tires and you know,
they carred around like they're just holding never have a suitcase.
But you know, but we've tried, we've tried, you know,
changing tires and stuff, and we do pick them up.
Just imagine running around with was terrible.

Speaker 1 (41:57):
Yeah, but they recruit athletes now to be pitt crews. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (42:01):
And they were talking, they were they were they kind
of were talking about that about how how how athletic
and tough these guys are, and and then and then
this happened. And then they interviewed him and he was like, man,
I've been hit on the US Army Band. They said,
did the national anthem? You okay with that?

Speaker 1 (42:18):
Yeah? Yeah, I mean, I mean they did a great job.
I guess we don't need them doing anything else stuff
going on in the world. Was supposed to sing it,
you know, because he they saw his well she was
supposed to be just a warm up, and then they
saw it and the sorry, we got to do another
direction instrument him with the Army band. Oh I'd love

(42:42):
to see him with that Army band out front singing again.

Speaker 6 (42:44):
Hey, once again, I was not trying to do a bit.
I did not do that. I started too high. That
I wasn't trying to do a bit. I disgrace the country, NOE,
the files corrupt and it's gone forever.

Speaker 1 (42:56):
Right, But you know you're saying there of our country
was unintentional.

Speaker 3 (43:01):
Yeah, I mean trying to do that. And I didn't
realize how much I was walking around.

Speaker 1 (43:06):
Uh are you.

Speaker 3 (43:07):
Supposed to stand still?

Speaker 1 (43:09):
Yeah? Be respectful. Oh, I don't think about I don't
say it like that. But one time I thought you
were attempting to wrap the national anthem. I wish he
had left his house because you were walking around, right,
it was probably what we'll be right back. Just take
us all right, So speaking, I know this is just

(43:34):
so far been a show, and we've started the week
really it seems to be our theme, seems to be discomfort,
and we're really just starting. We started the week with
nothing but discomfort. Uh. You know, we've talked about this
a lot on age age difference between people. Can somebody
get me a current Bill Belichick aging we've done years.

Speaker 4 (43:56):
Old, seventies, seventy something something like that.

Speaker 1 (44:00):
Ye, give me an official Bill Belichick right now, official,
because I want to make them get it here.

Speaker 3 (44:07):
Bill, How do you spell Belichick?

Speaker 1 (44:08):
It's not easy.

Speaker 3 (44:10):
He's seventy three.

Speaker 1 (44:10):
Yep. So a seventy three year old man has a
twenty four right, yeah year old ye girlfriend? Yep? All right,
so that that's really really really bad.

Speaker 3 (44:21):
Yeah, it's just bad.

Speaker 1 (44:22):
That right there is bad. Yeah, you know, like for her,
Greg said earlier, and I agree, once you get out
in life, we'll give you fifteen. I'm not even that really.
I mean it's not great, but I'm not really freaked
out by sixty five, you know, year old man with
a forty year old girlfriend. You know, if you were
a Bill Belichick, I mean that's a big gap there,
that's twenty five years.

Speaker 4 (44:41):
But in your mind you can't think you were twenty
when she was in diaper. No, but I don't think
he's just you know, it sounds better sixty.

Speaker 1 (44:50):
They're both grown, just just like in my marriage. I mean,
I'm I'm six years older than Sherry, five and a
half something like that, and you know, me being sixty
and her being fifty four and will be fifty five
in August. That sounds just fine. But if I was
a senior in high school and I was showing everybody
my sixth grade or seventh grade girlfriend, that would not
be a way illegal. Yeah, yeah, but now we're talking

(45:13):
about a seventy three year old man and his girlfriend
just looks too collegey, too young. It's just too weird.
It looks like somebody should arrest Bill Belichick. I know
she's of age and she can make her own decisions,
but it just feels like somebody should take Bill Belichick
into custody. And so it just feels wrong. And so

(45:35):
he's getting interviewed.

Speaker 4 (45:36):
What is he wearing a messed up navy shirt?

Speaker 1 (45:41):
Holes all?

Speaker 6 (45:41):
Do we just have the same clothes, that same wardrobe.
Do I have the same wardrobe as Bill Belichick?

Speaker 3 (45:46):
Because that shouldn't be the case.

Speaker 1 (45:47):
So I think the question is correct me if I'm wrong,
man that he's asked how they met? Yes, and she
shuts it down. She shuts it down. Apparently it must
have been creepy because she shuts it down. We ain't
gonna talk about that.

Speaker 6 (46:01):
I put ten seconds on here, but I think we
should listen to thirty seconds of it.

Speaker 1 (46:04):
Okay, it's okay, Yeah, that's it.

Speaker 3 (46:08):
Kind of sets it up, all right.

Speaker 1 (46:09):
Maybe she wears noting North Carolina.

Speaker 3 (46:10):
This is courtesy of CBS Sunday Morning.

Speaker 6 (46:14):
Make sure.

Speaker 1 (46:14):
That's the Jordan was a constant presence during our interviews.

Speaker 3 (46:20):
Jordan right over there.

Speaker 1 (46:22):
Everybody in the world seems to be following this relationship.

Speaker 3 (46:25):
They've got an opinion about your watch. Nothing to do
with them, but they're invested in it.

Speaker 1 (46:30):
How do you deal with that? Never been too worried
about what everybody else thinks. So do what I feel like?
That's for me? And what's right? How did you guys meet?
Not talking about this? No, no, who in the world
is she right? If you agreed to the stupid interview,
you know they're going to ask you, right, that's a

(46:52):
great point about it. Nobody cares about anything but that, really,
because she'll got a weird relationship and we want to
know how it starts. Just too much distance? Where are
they at hospital? What were they? Did not look like it.
There's so many things here. Are you ready? Where they are? Yeah?
What he wears? What he's wearing? What faction?

Speaker 4 (47:13):
The fact that she's just off camera dictating how the
interview is going to go, and he's saying, yes, ma'am,
as ma'am.

Speaker 3 (47:23):
They stopped, y'all. Look at this picture. Look at this
picture of the two of them.

Speaker 1 (47:29):
She said there ten years old kid, I am thirty
nine years old.

Speaker 6 (47:33):
I would feel awkward dating a twenty four year old.
I would feel like I don't have very much in
common with a twenty.

Speaker 3 (47:37):
Four year old.

Speaker 1 (47:38):
Seventy three, yeah, forty nine years she's twenty four.

Speaker 6 (47:44):
I'd be like, so were you You weren't even alive
during nine to eleven?

Speaker 1 (47:48):
Oh my god? Right right? And the way she looks,
she just looks like that she not is even his daughter.
We could maybe live with that. No, we couldn't live
with that. But I mean looks like she's going over
to her to her granddaughter granddad and saying, hey, thanks
for letting me come in for this interview today and
watch you work. That's how it feels. Yeah, I just

(48:08):
feels so wrong.

Speaker 4 (48:09):
Why would she say she doesn't want to talk about
how they met? Was she, you know, on on stage
three in the back?

Speaker 1 (48:19):
Was she some type of how hearing the lunch set, Greg,
are going to wait to stage number three? Enjoyed your sandwiches?

Speaker 3 (48:30):
She was just a hostess. She wasn't a dancer.

Speaker 1 (48:33):
Okay, use the word escort.

Speaker 4 (48:37):
Yeah, yeah, I'm not saying that that that is, but
I don't know why would she shut it down?

Speaker 1 (48:42):
All right?

Speaker 4 (48:43):
So he babysitting me. Let's baby set.

Speaker 1 (48:45):
Me, let's run the reasons because you make a valid point.
That's how it was my babysitter. Oh my goodness. So
has Belichick been married before? Oh? Yeah, kids and heptach
and stuff. I know his kids are right now. What
was this defensive coordinator with the Patriots?

Speaker 6 (49:05):
He was married from seventy seven to two thousand and six.

Speaker 3 (49:08):
Okay, so she was six when he.

Speaker 6 (49:11):
Got divorced, all right, something like that. My math isn't
quite right, y'all. So nine to eleven happened before she
was born, as in the same way that Pearl Harbor
happened right before Bill Belichick was born.

Speaker 1 (49:24):
Okay, good grief.

Speaker 6 (49:26):
Okay, So those are just the events markers for their birthdays.

Speaker 1 (49:30):
I'm seventy three. I've got a twenty four year old girlfriend.
She doesn't wonderybody know how we met. Reasons Number one,
I was in some sort of escort role. Yeah, her
line of business maybe, Okay, that's one.

Speaker 6 (49:43):
She was a college student though, right, she's like a.

Speaker 1 (49:45):
Well, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (49:47):
She was working her way through college. Okay, she was working.

Speaker 1 (49:50):
Around through asking how could this be? Why would she
not want this? Answered? Right?

Speaker 3 (49:55):
Go get the story straight.

Speaker 4 (49:57):
Say, how let me see if I get this here, hal,
did Bill Belichick meet his I'm sure we're gonna girlfriend?

Speaker 1 (50:09):
All right?

Speaker 4 (50:10):
Here we go, okay, will They met on a flight
in February of twenty twenty one, set up. She was
a college student at the time, and he was sitting
and she was sitting next to Belichick. They struck up
a conversation and ended up making out. No, it didn't
say that they struck up a conversation and the relationship

(50:31):
blossom from there.

Speaker 1 (50:32):
Sadly, the plane was owned by Jeffrey Epstein.

Speaker 3 (50:38):
Lolita Express. That is too good? Rick, Oh my goodness,
I could I'm not saying that.

Speaker 1 (50:44):
All right.

Speaker 6 (50:44):
She was in cosmetology school, So y'all make fun of that.

Speaker 4 (50:47):
Okay, So there you go. So see, we were just
we didn't know. They were apparently on a flight from
Boston to Florida. He noticed that she was reading a
book and started a conversation.

Speaker 6 (50:59):
Was cheerleader at Bridgewater State University in twenty twenty one.
She and her team were NCA Collegiate champions. So make
fun of that. Also, wasn't a stripper. Greg, nobody says that.

Speaker 1 (51:12):
We just said, why don't you want people to know?
Why would anybody be worried about us hearing that they
met on the airplane. I just don't understand that, great
boy doesn't make any sense to me. It doesn't make
any sense.

Speaker 6 (51:22):
And yes, that's the whole thing that we're all interested in.
You're exactly right, Yes, if you didn't expect that question?

Speaker 1 (51:29):
So why first question?

Speaker 4 (51:31):
Well, I guess, I guess if you really did just
meet on a flight, nothing wrong with y'all were sitting
beside each other, and she was reading a book, and
y'all struck up conversations about the book, and it just blossomed.

Speaker 1 (51:41):
What's wrong with saying that?

Speaker 8 (51:43):
Why?

Speaker 1 (51:43):
Why shut the interview down? We're not talking about that. Okay, guys,
we've got all right. So she is twenty or something.
She is twenty four. Bill Belichick's oldest daughter is forty one. Okay.

Speaker 8 (51:57):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (51:58):
He also has another child thirty eight, and another child
thirty two.

Speaker 4 (52:02):
All right, and a girlfriend twenty four. God that one
text her, you're that's it?

Speaker 1 (52:07):
The way she the way she shut that down. There's
more to this story. Yeah, I know something. See and
you could have just what I'm with y'all. Yeah, you know,
I was on the same flight she was on. We
met there, struck up a conversation, you know, we started
seeing each other. I don't understand. That would almost make
us feel better. Yeah, well, why would you keep us

(52:27):
from that?

Speaker 4 (52:27):
Is it because what she was she reading like a
Doctor Seuss book or something.

Speaker 1 (52:31):
Did he kidnap not? That's good. She's reading The Giving Tree,
the Rainbow Fish.

Speaker 5 (52:40):
Yeah, this is the Rick Burgess show.

Speaker 3 (52:48):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (52:48):
And it looks like we might have a vox verdict.
So Judge Adler, Judge Eagle, Judge Eagle, Hey, Rick and
the gang. Judge Adler, I would like to speak to

(53:13):
you as well, says the emailer. Uh. And there's a
there's a reason because the emailer is saying there is
a dilemma. Uh. And they would they think this may
be worthy of going before the court involving like a
lot of these I've noticed we're getting more and more
of people asking us to weigh in on things that
are going on in their neighborhoods and in society. What's appropriate,

(53:36):
what's not appropriate? Please look in there, Judge, Judge Adler,
he's got his wig on.

Speaker 3 (53:46):
Very itchy wig, very itchy wig.

Speaker 1 (53:48):
Yes, and you've already told you she regretted the wig.

Speaker 3 (53:51):
Regretting the wig.

Speaker 1 (53:53):
Yeah, but it's too it's too late now because people
expect that Judge Adler are better known as Judge Eagle. Okay,
and so here is what we are to consider you
all ready, Yep, here we go. I have a cat dilemma,
and I need a judgment cat dilemma. Cat dilemma. Take

(54:13):
it somewhere and let it out, And there it is.
Someone in our neighborhood posted about keeping cats indoors this
time of year so they don't kill all the birds. Oh.
My neighbor then shared an article on this with stats
and all requesting cats to stay indoors for the same reason.

(54:36):
My cat is the only kitty I think we have
wondering these parts, including her yard. Oh boy. So now
we have to decide whether we keep him in and
endure the howling protest of our outdoor cat. Are we
let the cat out and risk our neighbor being upset?
So far I've tried to keep him in. I'm sort

(54:59):
of a Eastmaker kind of person. Have I made the
right call? Or should I throw caution to the wind
and let him live his best life. Come what may.

Speaker 4 (55:09):
I'll probably gonna ask questions. You don't know, but just
ask if that's in there is keeping the cat in?

Speaker 1 (55:15):
Is it?

Speaker 4 (55:16):
Is it creating havoc inside? Like tearing stuff up? And
she said clawing on furniture and all that all I.

Speaker 1 (55:22):
Got from her? Or he now says Emily, So I
guess it's her. Is the cat does howl and scream
to get out? Well, I mean ask you that hurts me.
I mean my point forever? How long? What did they say,
just for a certain amount of time? I guess for
birds are always around. I guess they're talking about right now.

(55:44):
There's more birds than normal because of the season. Yeah, but.

Speaker 3 (55:51):
So the the all you cat people listen up.

Speaker 1 (55:56):
Got bad news, all right, judge eagle. The cat which
is a bird?

Speaker 6 (56:00):
The cat killing birds statistics are through the roof. Cats
kill in the US alone like two billion birds every year.

Speaker 1 (56:11):
It's called the food chain, Thank you, Greg. They also
kill a lot of mice. Got a problem with that,
right right? Yeah? Here, someone let you eat mice, but
you can't eat bird.

Speaker 4 (56:24):
Tell you what if the dog was if your dog
was killing a bird. He would go to the owner
would go to jail. Somebody would protest and call for right.

Speaker 1 (56:31):
Why do cats get a pass The cats get a passing.
They do. They are free roaming. I dealt with this
when you call animal control if there's a cat that's
bothering you. They don't do anything. Now about this bird.
You got flight on your side, You got flight, flights
of biggie and can't go nowhere.

Speaker 3 (56:51):
That's science.

Speaker 1 (56:52):
I will say that again. Do you find it different too,
that she's protecting wild birds? These birds don't really belong
to anybody. They don't. It's not like somebody that cat's
come after my pet bird and that's part of nature
and we're going to be you know, could be over
with birds and mice, could be it's not outside. Cat

(57:13):
take care of them too.

Speaker 6 (57:14):
Cats are responsible for the extinction of at least forty
bird species worldwide.

Speaker 1 (57:21):
Are these? That's not true?

Speaker 3 (57:22):
That's real. I read I read it right there.

Speaker 1 (57:24):
That sounds a little quote, you, Andy Andrews. Be true,
be true. I've got my verdict, all right, your vote.
Let it wrong, all right? Let it wrong. You can't.

Speaker 4 (57:33):
I mean, I don't know what to do if it's
howling and everything else in there is this person the
owner of all wild birds? How do you I mean
you now you said what bird?

Speaker 1 (57:46):
Yeah, I don't know what to do about it.

Speaker 4 (57:48):
But I mean, if the cat's a natural predator, right,
it's just I'm sorry. I mean, you got to think
you're cordial and go, hey, I'll try to keep my
cat somewhat around.

Speaker 3 (57:57):
But but that's just a lie.

Speaker 1 (57:59):
But no, right, But I mean I think you can
make flight. On their side, they can get away, a
lot of them on their side. Your vote, I say,
let him wrong, Let him wrong. You can't. I mean, look,
I hate a bird got eight but we're gonna do
no shock here. I'm gonna let it roam, No no
shot here at all. There ain't no way I'm living
in the house with a howling cat, and I'm saying

(58:22):
everything you guys are saying. These are not somebody's special birds.
That's what you do about that. There's nothing you can
I mean, you're not your pet bird. It's not dangerous
to anybody. You're you're stopping, you're stopping the natural way
of things. No one's even thinking about. Like you said
a minute ago, you take this cat out. Uh, y'all.

(58:45):
I know you think you want birds, be careful. You
can have too many birds too. We can we can
have boat bird overrun and uh crapping everywhere, you know.

Speaker 4 (58:55):
And there's some free roaman cats on my street and
I don't see them harassed and birds. Now it can
take me at night and I'm just not around. But
I don't see one walking up down the road with
one in his mouth. No question, they take birds out.
But I think that well, but some birds escape to
that like that that they're running the score up and
it's like one hundred and nothing.

Speaker 1 (59:14):
Well, and like I see how many birds out of
ten attempts now, let many actually get killed. Let me
say this one thing, you do run the risk of, Emily.
I do say this because it's wild out there. I
know some people and I know this story for a fact.
There are people that love their bird feeders and they
love it and they love their birds, Lisa, and we
got them all over my house too. But this is

(59:36):
not us. But this particular person took it upon themselves
to minimize the bird danger. So do you do run
the risk of that. Some people may say, I'm done
with the cat. You do run that risk but to me,
that's part of cat life. If I'm free roaming, then
I could, I could, I could meet my demise as well. Yeah,
that's the part. Are things that would just maybe motivate

(59:59):
me not to do come by this particular house.

Speaker 4 (01:00:02):
Yeah, right, with the amount of colties running around, we've
lost some neighbors have lost two cats.

Speaker 1 (01:00:07):
Like, hey, have y'all seen so and so we just disappeared. Yeah,
and so the kodies. What will we say, everybody to
keep your coldy indoor. We can't. We would not listen
if the birds we eating cats. Well, I bet a
bird of prey could probably give a cat a hard time. Yep.
There's a lot of things that go after birds and
a lot of things that go after cats. I say,
let nature take its course. So Emily, the jury is

(01:00:29):
solidified in a unanimous boat. Let your cat continue to
free rome judge.

Speaker 6 (01:00:34):
Well with the jury, the honorable jury ruling in accordionce
with statues, statues, I gotta say.

Speaker 3 (01:00:45):
Free the kiddy. Well, let it out, well, well said judge.

Speaker 6 (01:00:53):
Also, I can't stand a cat that gets up on
the counters. It's inside the house, it's getting up on
the counters. No, we got to disinfect the counter every
time before we cook because they're they're a.

Speaker 3 (01:01:01):
Cat lit or pauls are walking around. No, thank you,
free that kiddie boy.

Speaker 1 (01:01:06):
Goodness. How about for the text line, cats are helping
minimize bird flu.

Speaker 3 (01:01:11):
Ah, take that, fauci.

Speaker 5 (01:01:14):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (01:02:10):
You just said PR, then said personal person I guess
p B personal Best. It's pr PR. I thought I
thought there was record. I thought that was public relations.
Well it could be stand whatever. We're not talking about that, Okay,
how many of them have no teeth? Uh, there was a.

Speaker 4 (01:02:26):
Few early on, there's a few early on.

Speaker 3 (01:02:30):

finds out your phone number and they call your mom
out like she actually had entered.

Speaker 3 (01:03:01):
She's like.

Speaker 1 (01:03:05):
And it's some idiot Berry College with an old miss
shirt on. Know why little Yeah? And and and we
realized this one, you know, it's one of our kids
because they found the number. Yeah right right right? So
so that's the cut off is one to know if
that's ra Probably not.

Speaker 4 (01:03:28):
I was just stupidly made mouth that we've had. I
haven't heard that number in years past. It's it's really good, okay,
personal record.

Speaker 1 (01:03:37):
Yeah, it's I've never heard that.

Speaker 3 (01:03:41):
Don't work like us.

Speaker 1 (01:03:44):
Let me tell it what. It's our person. It is
our personal best. Better knows our p R. All right,
so anyway personal best? All right? So Andler, you said
that your dad joked speedy. I got.

Speaker 3 (01:03:55):
I got Greg.

Speaker 1 (01:03:58):
I took it, hooked line and sinker.

Speaker 3 (01:03:59):
I actually I got Ruby first.

Speaker 1 (01:04:03):
What you were doing? Yeah, heard it in the background.
He got you on this one. I got really good
in there, real smart.

Speaker 3 (01:04:11):
Here we go, but here I got I heard this.
I forgot where I heard it. But I immediately found
my daughter and got her.

Speaker 1 (01:04:16):
Good on the deck with Ezra.

Speaker 3 (01:04:17):
I'm on the deck with the ruby. She can speak better.
She can say death better.

Speaker 1 (01:04:22):
Yes, oh cool, cool.

Speaker 3 (01:04:27):
Ruby. They said you sound like an owl?

Speaker 1 (01:04:31):
What sounds like?

Speaker 3 (01:04:32):
Aw?

Speaker 6 (01:04:33):
This?

Speaker 1 (01:04:33):
They said that you sound like an owl?

Speaker 3 (01:04:36):
Who? And then see her?

Speaker 1 (01:04:39):
Good?

Speaker 7 (01:04:41):
You said.

Speaker 1 (01:04:46):
That Ruby? Or Greg?

Speaker 3 (01:04:47):
That was Ruby? Now I get Greg?

Speaker 1 (01:04:49):
You get Greg? Greg hold microphone because you we got
to discuss this. He says it every day, but just my.

Speaker 3 (01:05:00):
He's I got him good though he was distracted.

Speaker 1 (01:05:04):
Yeah what again?

Speaker 3 (01:05:07):
They said you sound like an hour who he's so mad.
As soon as he said it, he got so mad.
And then we run down the hall. We try to
get speedy.

Speaker 1 (01:05:18):
Yeah, and I'm in there with Tom walking on the
room and they didn't want to deal with it.

Speaker 3 (01:05:23):
Now speedy, speedy, Speedy fell for it.

Speaker 1 (01:05:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:05:26):
I kind of had an idea what you were doing about?

Speaker 3 (01:05:28):
Know what else is sapers?

Speaker 1 (01:05:29):
I too?

Speaker 3 (01:05:32):
Tom tested it who.

Speaker 1 (01:05:36):
It is a lot tighter?

Speaker 9 (01:05:42):
Hey hey hey hey, no said check check check there.

Speaker 3 (01:05:54):
And then we try to get ricked. Tom never even
pay acted, like don't even exist.

Speaker 6 (01:05:59):
Yeah, Tom working, He's like, hey, guys, try get me.

Speaker 3 (01:06:03):
Yeah, we're gonna try to get you know, I remember, yeah, yeah,
hey Greg, rick They said you sound like an owl.
They said you're sounding like an owl. They said that,
do you really that's just a good joke.

Speaker 1 (01:06:27):
I didn't. He can't ring. It was like a little person.

Speaker 3 (01:06:34):
Cam was secret. I was holding it down by my
pocket to be secretive.

Speaker 9 (01:06:39):
All right.

Speaker 3 (01:06:40):
That wasn't a normal height like a little person.

Speaker 1 (01:06:45):
Did you see? I stayed I stayed seated, so you
got yeah, that's around the chair. So Greg, you know,
Greg can I claims his microphone makes his head hurt.
On the top of his head.

Speaker 4 (01:06:56):
He's had every studio we're in, He claims his head hurt.

Speaker 1 (01:07:00):
What do you? What's your prof happens about two hours
in the show. It's something to do. First of all,
my microphone gets in my eye. What does just this
the arm? I'm looking around and I move it and
do this. But then when I put my glasses on
to read, I think it's putting these on reading that
board is what's killing me. Well, don't do it. I'm
just gonna quit looking at them. Those are looking at

(01:07:20):
are those reading glasses? No, they're glad. Well you should
be able to see got to see it. I can't
see for away, But what those on you should be?
Why would that make your hinder? Maybe it's a combination ofvolve.
But I feel like this bar is in my eye
the whole time. Now, remember he could have fixed this
was with contacts, but he couldn't put them in I know.
So yeah, so you're all good in a fix? Are
you now? Off the microphone? Bull is giving you a headache? Now,

(01:07:44):
it's part of it's when I'm doing this, this bosses, Yeah,
but it is somebody.

Speaker 4 (01:07:49):
Like I concentrate on my grandson over here. I've tried
to lower the arm and tell him that he can
pull this up and he's fine.

Speaker 1 (01:07:55):
Look I'm looking around. Every time I look over here,
he's like her. I thought maybe I just had I'm
wrong my brain or something, but it didn't do it
all weekend, but it's starting last week. About two hours
in the show, I slip right here on the top
of my head, the top of your head, head, like
speaking the top of your heads right here, just right here,
on top of my head, and it runs from here
to here. Hm. And you think that they all the

(01:08:19):
combo because I'm looking at the sae im seeing now.
But I quit looking at the screen and my head
felt a little better.

Speaker 8 (01:08:27):
Greg.

Speaker 1 (01:08:27):
They think you have cataracts. Oh hush, I just went
to the eye doctor. Now too long ago somebody said
your eyes are like an owl. What happened? You heard
your shoulders like that?

Speaker 3 (01:08:46):
All right? I'm actually so the shoulder will never get well.

Speaker 6 (01:08:49):
I'm trying to figure out how to google this, and
so basically, you've got something blocking your eyes, so almost
like you're wearing an eye patch.

Speaker 3 (01:08:58):
So I googled can wearing an eye patch give you
a headache?

Speaker 6 (01:09:00):
And it says yes, that's what I'm saying, especially one
especially in children.

Speaker 3 (01:09:05):
Greg.

Speaker 1 (01:09:05):
So well, I'm just telling you this. That's a little better.
But I've told y'all since this got put up that
it makes me cross eyed. What's now the last studio?
The lights major stupid ones? We have a heart land?

Speaker 3 (01:09:19):
How can horrible?

Speaker 1 (01:09:20):
How can everywhere you go something when they canceled it.
Something's making your something's making your head hurt everywhere we go?
Just just here, No, you you have just bright lights?
Is all that was. I knew that. There's them goofy
square lights they had.

Speaker 3 (01:09:37):
Yes, the led panels, Greg, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:09:41):
Look they came to get them back. Now we're going
to bring them back. Yeah, but that's why y'all came
to them down so you can bring them back.

Speaker 3 (01:09:47):
Right, what do you say bring They never brought it back.

Speaker 1 (01:09:51):
And they did not. Yeah, that was a dumb thing.
But is it making your head hurt right now? Looking
at that text option nerve there? Greg?

Speaker 6 (01:10:00):
You may Greg, we need to get you like a
Britney Spears Mike, where you're just just like on your face,
you know, like yeah Garth Brooks Mike.

Speaker 1 (01:10:09):
Oh yeah, people say headaches on the top of your
header from stress. And let me tell you something. This
place is full of stress. It is you know, it's
you know, it's coming from you me. I'm always I'm
always blamed for Greg's problems. You're welcome, America. Can you

(01:10:30):
imagine how uninteresting he would be? Yeah? If I if
I had not treated him the way I did, it
made him like he is.

Speaker 3 (01:10:37):
I don't know if you can claim that kind of thing.
That's a big, big statement.

Speaker 1 (01:10:40):
Does everybody. Greg's very popular. America loves Greg.

Speaker 3 (01:10:43):
And they said he sounded like an owl.

Speaker 5 (01:10:48):
Again, this is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (01:10:58):
We'll have to just follow this a little bit and
see if we can't get more to tails. They're they're
saying that major blackouts and three European nations has happened.
That just happened. Uh, And basically it's like the grid
has been completely shut off Spain, Portugal and where France
and France they've been plunged into no just blackouts, power outage,

(01:11:23):
Transportation networks are down, Internet is cut off. Wow. They're
saying it the scenes of mayhem.

Speaker 4 (01:11:28):
People down where it's dark, Uh, getting on trains and
everything else and everything.

Speaker 1 (01:11:33):
Just is gone. And so it's everybody's going crazy right now. Yeah. So,
and that's three different nations all at the same time.
So that's that's odd. So as we get more information,
we'll let you know on that one. So you're probably
seeing headlines on that if you're catching the show live. Uh,
we did have something also over the weekend.

Speaker 4 (01:11:53):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:11:54):
This is this boat crash and boy, everybody's been showing
this today. These are these speed oat the speed boats
you know that if if they get an they're not
real stable, they go airborne a lot. Now this one
really goes airborne and no one was hurt right at
the back flip. Yeah, I mean, so we're watching this now.

Speaker 3 (01:12:13):
Yeah, and this is a lot of different angles.

Speaker 6 (01:12:15):
And if this boat went flying up into the air
in front of me, I would I would have to
watch my language as well. But most of these video
footage I can't use the audio because the people are
so shocked to see this boat go flying up.

Speaker 1 (01:12:28):
Gotcha air, gotcha and sho oh my goodness, still.

Speaker 6 (01:12:31):
In the air, still in the air, still in there there.

Speaker 4 (01:12:34):
So you get that air under the front and it
just lifts it like a kite.

Speaker 1 (01:12:38):
Yeah, and you've got to get out of it. It's
upside down.

Speaker 4 (01:12:41):
Yeah, it looks like it looks like the canopy. It's
like the Hult grabbed it and threw it across the water.

Speaker 1 (01:12:47):
Yeah, it really is. So did it end the right
side up? That is crazy.

Speaker 4 (01:12:54):
I mean it does two flips, some spins and then
lands and then gets went beforehand.

Speaker 1 (01:13:01):
Ohey, it caught big air.

Speaker 6 (01:13:03):
And I actually found a footage from inside.

Speaker 1 (01:13:06):
No, you did not know what the camera there.

Speaker 6 (01:13:09):
Yes, So this was at the twenty twenty five Lake
Havasu Desert Storm shootout.

Speaker 5 (01:13:14):
Wow.

Speaker 6 (01:13:16):
And they're trying to figure out the fastest boats in
the world. So this is the elite of the elite,
top of the top of the pile here, and you
can see their speed in the top left corner.

Speaker 3 (01:13:28):
So they're just trolling. It looks like, I guess at
thirty six miles an hour. Here he's about to goose
it the drifts.

Speaker 1 (01:13:33):
They really are got some Hans device on there, Yes
they do. Yeah, they're strapped in.

Speaker 6 (01:13:39):
Sixty seventy eighty ninety hondo one thirty one, forty fifty six,
seventy one eighty one ninety two over two hundred and
it goes bad here.

Speaker 4 (01:13:53):
Wow, wow, there it goes there they go they're upside down,
they're flying and they're wow, what good gracious.

Speaker 3 (01:14:00):
Glasses and everything going fly so.

Speaker 1 (01:14:02):
Over two hundred miles an hour when they when they
go airborne. Yes, did you see how it looked in
there with them? There's not well, here we go, here
we go, look like Katie Perry and blue or they lost.
They're trapped in there pretty good.

Speaker 6 (01:14:14):
Now are those actual bite boat pilots or they are
they astronauts?

Speaker 1 (01:14:18):
Now?

Speaker 3 (01:14:19):
Okay, all right?

Speaker 1 (01:14:20):
Wow? So what if you flip outside down? You're all
strapped in you can't. I know, it's not good. Also
one that did not have such a good outcome, at
least one killed and mass casualty event. These are this
had to do with a faery and no, no f

(01:14:43):
e r R y And yeah this is I saw.
Some said they hit a sandbar or something, but now
they're saying it was some sort of crash. A person
is dead, dozens injured. Uh, and it was a shuttling
some folks from a festival on the final night of
anybody heard of the Sugar Sand Festival? No have not.

(01:15:05):
And this story says it was hit by a private
boat here in six people.

Speaker 3 (01:15:09):
Oh here it is.

Speaker 1 (01:15:10):
Yeah so that yeah that clear water fairy, Yeah there
it is. And it's just taken them across to the festival,
and they said a private boat came in and hit
it and it's injured at least a dozen and killed one.
So look, water, you know we had that story not
too long ago about the Bass tournament. I mean, yeah,

(01:15:30):
water is there's no breaks and now you can't stop that.
Got to communicate. We're also finding out do you remember
the black Hawk the d C crash. Yeah, collided with
the passenger plane. We've got an update on it too
that they're saying that they now know that the pilot
of the black Hawk helicopter ignored instructions to change course

(01:15:53):
seconds before the crash.

Speaker 9 (01:15:55):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:15:55):
It's just been published by the New York Times yesterday
and it as now we have the details the exchanges
with air traffic controllers that led up to the disaster.
Sixty seven people dead in this one horrible. The black
Hawk pilot, Captain Rebecca lob Ach, was doing the annual

(01:16:18):
flight evaluation. The co pilot, Chief Warrant Officer Andrew Lloyd
Eves was kind of serving as the instructor. It says
that the air traffic controllers informed the Black Hall that
there was an airline nearby. The pilot and the co
pilot acknowledged the message, and they requested they would like

(01:16:40):
to fly by visual separation. Remember we had pilots calling
about that visual separation. This is common practice. It allows
them to avoid collisions based on their own observations rather
than following the instructions from air traffic control. So fifteen
seconds away from crossing paths with the jet, you hear

(01:17:01):
the co pilot turn his attention to the captain. He
told her he believed the air traffic control wanted them
to turn the left toward the east river bank. And
that's the last thing you hear.

Speaker 4 (01:17:12):
From it, Yeah, which can give them more space.

Speaker 1 (01:17:16):
Yeah, take him out of that line. Right. So what
we know is they said, hey, y'all, don't y'all don't
be our eyes. Let us be our own eyes. But
unfortunately that that proved to be deadly because air traffic
control was saying, you got an airline nearby, I like
to see you turn left toward the bank there, and
I guess visually they didn't have the same day, So

(01:17:39):
now they have that information now, So you know, what
happened is a horrible thing. And you know, I talked,
we had a pilot in the vox seats, and you
remember he told us, he said, I've flown that, I've
landed right there many many times, exact same patterns so
many times. But in this particular case, you had you
had a pilot that and a co pilot that made

(01:18:00):
a bad decision. Yep, and it cost sixty seven people
their lives. So that's that's unfortunate. So there's you some
updates and all that. Now we don't know what really
is happening in Europe. Will have to just let that
kind of unfall.

Speaker 4 (01:18:14):
It was just some breaking newsp justifications. A huge power outage, yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:18:19):
And involving I mean when you when you shut down
three countries at the same time, that's a major power.

Speaker 4 (01:18:24):
And they're suggesting that it's a devastating cyber attack.

Speaker 1 (01:18:28):
Yeah, that's that's what I was thinking first time I
heard it. So, you know, that's one of the things
that people are always talking about. You know, we've even
had some sponsors that say, you know, you never know
when something beyond your control is going to have you
in a situation where you need to be able to
live off the grid. Thus the grid has been taken
away from you.

Speaker 4 (01:18:47):
The cyber attack has not been confirmed, but Spanish officials
say that's they believe that's what it is.

Speaker 1 (01:18:53):
But they're investigating Speedy with the stallion in NASCAR on Friday.
By the way, we just heard Greg you know, keeps
us updating all these things NASCAR, that the NASCAR race
a little controversy. Now over the weekend, looks like two
drivers that finished in the top five have been disqualified. Yeah,

(01:19:16):
we know Joey Logano, we've had him in the studio before.
And then Brian Prace's a young driver. He was in second.
He came in second, yep, and they stripped him, moved
him away back to thirty something. Why they found something
about in the post inspection him and Joey Logano. They
found some loose boats in the spoiler. So evidently that's
a that's a big deal. Well, I guess since they

(01:19:38):
pretty much disqualified both of them, and then both of
them are top five, and then Speedy on Saturday, Saturday,
one of your sons wrapped up is a college baseball career.
How about that? How was that was that emotional? Yeah?
It was weird be baseball games.

Speaker 4 (01:19:54):
Yeah, yeah, Terry, and I was like, all right, So
it's been twenty four years of baseball in some capacity
in our family, and ten years of college baseball. And
it ended Saturday, and it was just it was kind
of sounded crazy.

Speaker 1 (01:20:08):
Yeah, it was sad. It was sad, but it was also.

Speaker 4 (01:20:11):
A celebration because it's the game that's been good to
the boys and got some educations out of it. And
JC graduates Monday from a week from to day. I
told him about not mess that up, but he says
he's got his cap and gown, so he's good. But
but yeah, yeah, I also emailed you a picture of
the family. Of course, we're all sunburned, tired, but the

(01:20:32):
day comes to an end and had a double header.

Speaker 1 (01:20:35):
The weather was weird.

Speaker 4 (01:20:37):
Because in that area you had you had different things
going on with rain and coming through North Alabama where
they play in hunts Full and and so it pushed
things back to a double header on Saturday, which helped
me out because I had the Stallions Friday night. I
was missing all of Friday, and but man, we are sunburned.
I mean, yeah, yeah, gracious, we're tired at that point.

Speaker 1 (01:20:58):
It's been a long day.

Speaker 4 (01:21:00):
But Tyler actually had a fitting a Huntsville so he
was in town. Reese got off work because the days
it lasted so long. So I was happy that his
brother's got to be there with him when it was over.
Uh and uh. And so after it's over, they you know,
they got a spread of food. Everybody brought my luck
dinner and stuff like that.

Speaker 1 (01:21:17):
Y'all. Do you like to get a chance to maybe
speak to the team when it was over. No, I
didn't know. No, I wasn't doing that, but we were.

Speaker 4 (01:21:24):
We were able to embrace, you know, Tyler or JC
and and both of them kind of.

Speaker 1 (01:21:31):
Were.

Speaker 4 (01:21:32):
It was kind of emotional there for the for the
brothers to be there and stuff.

Speaker 1 (01:21:35):
Yeah, I was.

Speaker 4 (01:21:37):
I did get on Tyler a little bit though, And
I don't know what's wrong with me, but we go
to pray for the food and I look over and
I realized Tyler's got his hand over his heart, like
he's like a.

Speaker 1 (01:21:49):
And uh, you know he was.

Speaker 4 (01:21:50):
He was being respectful and had his eyes down, which
I don't know what that says about me that I
was looking over at him, but I just saw it.
It caught my eye beforehand and it was over, I said, hey,
do you have your hand over your heart?

Speaker 1 (01:22:00):
The whole time. He is also patriotic while praying yes,
and he's like, oh my.

Speaker 4 (01:22:04):
Gosh, I did it and I didn't even realize, but yeah,
that was weird.

Speaker 1 (01:22:09):
So j C.

Speaker 4 (01:22:10):
Was was in the hole when the last out was made,
so he was about to come back up for another
at bat, and he said, when the ball was hit
for the last out, it was a grounder to first
And he said it was weird because when that ball
hit the ground till the first baseman got it, he said,
his entire baseball career flashed in front in his mind.

Speaker 1 (01:22:30):
I mean, I'm talking about like from youth ball, through the.

Speaker 4 (01:22:33):
Sidewinders y'all heard all about, and through Excel and Helena
High School and then Juco and it's like and then
that moment, he said it was weird.

Speaker 1 (01:22:42):
He said, it's like it's just all bamn. It hit
like the first basement had just booted it. Yeah, and
he would have got one more.

Speaker 4 (01:22:49):
And then and then that first baseman touches that bag
and it's over and he's like.

Speaker 1 (01:22:53):
Where it is? Wow? What about chapter?

Speaker 4 (01:22:57):
Yeah, I played for the Savannah, but us well he
did get in text, but he's he's already accepted a job.

Speaker 1 (01:23:04):
But didn't he actually get something to do for him
to try and dancing trying to get the asked him
to come to Vanderbilt and they're doing tryouts, tryouts to
see who would fit where.

Speaker 4 (01:23:14):
I think they're gonna expand what they do because jac
said they were looking for college players to fill some
teams or whatever. But he's already accepted a job, and
so he's got a couple of weeks h to kind
of take a break, you know, he got he you
have you have finals this week, where he said, he's
got a couple of tests and then you graduate.

Speaker 1 (01:23:33):
He graduates next Monday.

Speaker 4 (01:23:34):
But he was just it was crazy because Terry and I,
you know, we had to drive separate because she went
up Friday morning because for everything, and I had to
stay back for the stallion. So we we you know,
we were following each other home and we finally got
home and we're like wow. So, you know, normally you're
checking the forecast to see, oh, how's it going to
affect the game this week and what and it's just over.
It's like hunting season being over.

Speaker 1 (01:23:55):
Yeah. Wow, Well I was going to ask you and
you you might not be there yet, but it's odd
because I love all this stuff. It's great, and I'm
glad your kids participate in it. But and may you
may not be there yet, but I remember the Hey,
it's over. And then all of a sudden, when it

(01:24:16):
dawns on you that the last one who was participating
in athletics is finally done and you don't have the
running and the chaos of games and practices and this
and banquets and this and that. When it goes away,
there's a certain amount of piece that comes to you know, well,

(01:24:38):
a lot of pressure just got off the family.

Speaker 4 (01:24:40):
Well, speaking of pressure, so you know, just thinking it
doesn't have to be baseball. It could be anything where
you know you want the best for who your kid,
you know, boy or girl when they're competing in anything.

Speaker 1 (01:24:52):
Anything.

Speaker 4 (01:24:52):
It could be anything from I'm in theater to I'm
in the band to I'm playing for whatever, and you
want the the stress of he's up to bat and
runners at second third with two outs and that heart
rate goes up. That I don't miss because I looked
over at Terry. I looked over at Terry. Uh, I
guess it was Saturday. I said, Now I won't miss this.

(01:25:14):
You know, because you just you want the best because
they tried. The grind is so hard it never ends,
and you just want it's they're not gonna be perfect,
but you just want them to to succeed and come
through for the test and all that, and Tyler being
a picture picture. You know, you you're like, oh gosh,
please don't walk this guy. I don't throw a pass ball,
get a strikeout. And then JC being a fielder and hitter,

(01:25:37):
it's like, oh, come on, get it. It's just it
was that I'm not going to miss. But being around
everybody in the relationships and and all that. I mean,
he's already been asked to be in a wedding with
one of his teammates. It's getting married, and I mean
all the things you build through all the years. That's
what you're really celebrating is just you know, the friendships
for a lifetime and it's it's been a it's been

(01:25:58):
a lot of fun and it's, uh, it will be
an adjustment for sure, but that competitive nature. He's already
calling out the family on the golf course. Now you'll
better be read.

Speaker 1 (01:26:08):
Yeah, but you gotta have that to hitting something.

Speaker 4 (01:26:11):
Yeah, But it's it's been a. It's been a blast,
but it is hard to believe that it's we were counting.
So Tyler started when he was four, He just started
at the why playing just to understand the game and
uh and he's twenty eight now. So for twenty four
years we have been somebody dragging something to the ballpark,
somebody playing and uh and so and and for that

(01:26:34):
to be over as.

Speaker 1 (01:26:35):
Wow, yeah and you hit on it's the caring. Like
even yesterday afternoon, my wife texts me. I was at
a meeting at church and she's like, I think I'm
going to uh to Brodie's game. Just meet me there.
And I'm like, Brodie's game and she's, you know, he's
coaching now lacrosse. And I'm like no, And it wasn't.
I mean, it's a beautiful day. It was fine, but

(01:26:56):
I thought, oh, now now I'm going to care. That's it.
Now now my relaxing, Now my relaxing and it's playoffs. Hey,
now my relaxing day. Yeah, I'm gonna can I not
just go I wish I could go watch this game
and not care. But if you have some of your
kid or somebody connected to a team, whether you know Greg,
whether it's playing or coaching. Then all of a sudden,
that's the part that's the hardest. Now now I have

(01:27:18):
to care about this game. Now I'm invested. Now it's
like now it's like I'm being It's like I'm being
cut with tiny paper cuts throughout the whole game as
I bleed to that, Yeah, everything that could have been
should have been. Get that ball, buck Yeah. But so
so Tyler gotta get that.

Speaker 3 (01:27:33):
I know.

Speaker 4 (01:27:33):
So Tyler and Reese didn't get to make all of
his games, and they all tried to help support each other.
But so Tyler uh got to the game and after
j C batted one time.

Speaker 1 (01:27:43):
He's like, hey, when Jason gets up to bad, you
do you kind of get nervous and everything?

Speaker 4 (01:27:48):
And I said do I yeah, I mean yeah, I
mean it's a different end though it's awful.

Speaker 1 (01:27:53):
He goes man.

Speaker 4 (01:27:54):
I said, yeah, that's the same way with you. Every
time you kick that leg up going to home. I
was like, oh, lord, play well, welcome of twenty four
years of my life. Yeah, I'm like, that's why would
when you pitched, I would go out in the outfield
and walk around with the trees and talk to myself.

Speaker 1 (01:28:06):
You know, so a you couldn't see me, but be
so I could just deal with it. And by the way,
grandkids are next. You're not over.

Speaker 5 (01:28:14):
Yeah, this is the Rick Burgess show.

Speaker 1 (01:28:23):
A couple of items here involving something you'll never hear
any of us in, and that is any sort of marathon.
So we got a couple of them here. But we
also have another running deal this thing on five Adler.
This is more of a relay here, isn't it. Yeah?
The one on five is this? What is five that

(01:28:44):
the pen relays? Eighty plus year old?

Speaker 6 (01:28:46):
Yeah, it's not a relay race, but yeah, this is
an eighty year old running the one hundred meter?

Speaker 1 (01:28:52):
Oh, Greg, Oh, Greg?

Speaker 3 (01:28:53):
An eighty year old.

Speaker 6 (01:28:55):
Eighty two year old I believe is the winner. This
was a Yeah, eighty two years old Dominic wins this race. Yeah,
he's moving for eighty two years old.

Speaker 1 (01:29:04):
I guess who you're racing again.

Speaker 3 (01:29:06):
This is the clock this life.

Speaker 6 (01:29:08):
That's exactly right, you're right, this is I believe the
over eighty category.

Speaker 1 (01:29:14):
He should he smokes everything. Yeah, Rick looks wet.

Speaker 6 (01:29:19):
They shouldn't be up there with rain in the rain
all right over people are just tougher them, not a
lot of good postures.

Speaker 1 (01:29:26):
Uh, we're greg some of them can't get done there
like that.

Speaker 4 (01:29:28):
There's eighty yeah, and there's eight of them, eight lanes running.

Speaker 3 (01:29:31):
There we go and which one is he? And they're off.

Speaker 4 (01:29:36):
It's gonna supprise you're.

Speaker 1 (01:29:38):
Just gonna say they were holding their their position better.

Speaker 6 (01:29:40):
Than some of these eighty year olds.

Speaker 4 (01:29:44):
Head over, we.

Speaker 1 (01:29:45):
Have a battle. It looks like going out.

Speaker 3 (01:29:52):
That's one hundred meters right there, eighty year old sweaters.

Speaker 8 (01:29:55):
Ye'ah.

Speaker 4 (01:29:55):
He has got a gray beard, like a Santa beard.
And I've been like, I would not have picked him
to win. No, if you said I picked that, look.

Speaker 3 (01:30:04):
At pale copper rocks just finished it.

Speaker 6 (01:30:06):
But good for him for raining right there?

Speaker 1 (01:30:10):
Why have him running? Were they in the rain like that?

Speaker 3 (01:30:13):
They're just tougher and rain.

Speaker 4 (01:30:16):
It looks like the least of all these I've seen that. Yeah, yeah,
it just that one can't save. We got we got
gray hair, we got a gray beard.

Speaker 1 (01:30:25):
Might have did gray beard. He did Sannah.

Speaker 4 (01:30:30):
But if you get kids out, you get to that age,
if you can still run the hundred.

Speaker 1 (01:30:35):
Oh yeah, we're tearing it up. I think I'll be
able to What about when they tried to jump the
start and the row.

Speaker 3 (01:30:40):
I know, God, you want to see that again?

Speaker 1 (01:30:42):
Yes, I start all right.

Speaker 4 (01:30:45):
So we're down here and he's about on the fourth lane.

Speaker 1 (01:30:49):
Well you can tell he's trouble. He's in a full
blown stance. He's down there, so is one other two others.
Poor red Shirt he's trying.

Speaker 6 (01:30:57):
He's gonna gray Shirt is gonna fall start pretty bad here.

Speaker 1 (01:31:04):
So you got it giving him a run. Three three
go out in front and it's closed.

Speaker 4 (01:31:09):
Three of them are leaving everybody, and gray Beard wins.

Speaker 3 (01:31:14):
But it's closing. He's looking back.

Speaker 1 (01:31:19):
It's it's raining really hard. Yes, let's be honest.

Speaker 4 (01:31:23):
Obviously when he was younger, he ran track or something.

Speaker 1 (01:31:26):
Yeah, my goodness, let's be honest. We all thought the
black guy was gonna be.

Speaker 3 (01:31:29):
There, but we did so we did, I did, I did?

Speaker 1 (01:31:33):
I mean gray Beard close. He did come in sackond.
Gray Beard even beat him. Yeah, so that's so we.

Speaker 4 (01:31:40):
Were thinking about you rigged somebody on text that I
didn't think men ran in the rain, but they weren't
trying to.

Speaker 1 (01:31:50):
The rain. That's different. That's competing. He's running to get
out of the rain, right, Greg, buckle up, for this one.
Here comes to the London Marathon. Somebody tried to be
sharp and run the marathon dressed his big Ben the clock,
the clock and get great great, And they come all
the way to the end and they can't get through
the finish line clock the whole marathon.

Speaker 3 (01:32:12):
Yes, the whole marathon.

Speaker 1 (01:32:13):
They ran like this, that's big Ben. Yes, it's a
it's a running big Ben. There's a big, huge running clock.

Speaker 6 (01:32:20):
And then they get stuck in the finish line, Greg, Greg,
I can't get back.

Speaker 3 (01:32:24):
I can't get by.

Speaker 4 (01:32:26):
Everybody's passing, all the people that all the people that
he's beats, just going around past.

Speaker 1 (01:32:32):
And first of all, let me say something to them.
Y'all got beat by man dressed up like yes, if
I look, if i'm if I'm trailing the guy dressed
as a clock. Yeah, there's about to die. Yeah, so
big Ben's in trouble. Yes, they can't get big.

Speaker 3 (01:32:50):
Got it.

Speaker 1 (01:32:52):
He lost thirty spots, at least at least thirty spots
because I'm dressed.

Speaker 4 (01:32:57):
That's if you've ever moved anything through a doorway and
it too tall for the hillway and you're trying to
bend over, can.

Speaker 1 (01:33:04):
You believe that a pretty good stride going.

Speaker 6 (01:33:06):
Yeah, he's even got a number on the front of
Big Ben and everything like a normal runner.

Speaker 1 (01:33:10):
Is twenty six point two miles dressed as a dog
gone clock. Yes, it's crazy. Could y'all run a mile
with that clock like that? No? No, I couldn't run.
I couldn't run across the parking lot. And I'm like y'all,
it would bother me. That'd be like one of our
buddies going, Okay, you think you can run a marathon. Yeah,
you think you're running as a clock. No I can't.
I'm running his clock. You won't run as a clock,

(01:33:31):
And he did. I bet he's one of those people
at the ball games that are like the presidents that
run with the big thing. Yeah, got experience. I don't
buy that he ran the whole Thing's a clock there
it is. I can't believe you're but I think he's going.
You can't be behind that. He did twenty six more
two miles out. I don't think. I don't think so.

Speaker 6 (01:33:45):
Look on the front of his costume it says it
says it's like he got an extra little banner that
says official attempt.

Speaker 3 (01:33:52):
As a clock as a clock.

Speaker 6 (01:33:54):
It's like he's got an extra little banner on it
to say, hey, this isn't just somebody crashing the race,
this isn't official.

Speaker 1 (01:33:58):
Twenty six miles.

Speaker 3 (01:34:00):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (01:34:01):
The only thing I would have put on there too,
is another sticker says it's about time. I would have
had that. I should have given one of them things
like the drive that says if you're taller than this,
you can't come on. Yeah, somebody said we missed that.
Some people came through with bloody. Oh I bet they did.
Bloody what get to bleeding?

Speaker 3 (01:34:22):
Definitely?

Speaker 1 (01:34:24):
I would be bleeding. Yeah, And then there it is,
there's bloody right there. That's awful.

Speaker 4 (01:34:33):
Yeah, band aid has no hope for you, Rick, Greg
let's let's you and I trained for half.

Speaker 1 (01:34:38):
Marathon half marathon just to run a five k. This
mean you trained for it, you want to do it? No?
Do you really want to try?

Speaker 3 (01:34:47):
Five k's three point one?

Speaker 1 (01:34:48):
I know we I've run that not very well. I've
run it.

Speaker 3 (01:34:52):
Ten k six point two. I couldn't just double it
if we.

Speaker 1 (01:34:56):
Go right, they said, the clock got stuck for a
little while, and then I almost pent it because the
guy that broke up the dog fight run out of
the stands and said, I'm through here. I'll get this
clock through here. Also, let's go to twelve here. What
happened here? I would have a lady that falls in
the background on TV during the Orioles game. So what

(01:35:17):
are they just showing a normal shot? Somebody falls real
bad in the background. Yeah, yeah, badly.

Speaker 3 (01:35:22):
This is just like the normal picture shot.

Speaker 1 (01:35:24):
When you say fall, what do you mean downstairs?

Speaker 6 (01:35:27):
You mean she's got beers in her hand, and she's
got uh oh or something.

Speaker 3 (01:35:31):
But she goes she's gonna walk right here behind it.

Speaker 4 (01:35:35):
It's behind the Backstop freaking o, my gracious. Okay, So
she went down the first step and rolled a right ankle,
which sent her into the side of the seats.

Speaker 1 (01:35:51):
Yeah, and that isn't like a fall in it's on television.

Speaker 4 (01:35:54):
That's right behind you know these ball fields now they
bring the seats so far down you can see maybe
the first five or six rows well while the battery
is batting. Yes, and and boy, let me tell you,
she rolls that right ankle and sends her into sends
her into the side.

Speaker 1 (01:36:13):
I hate to see grind dog get wasted like that.

Speaker 6 (01:36:15):
I she got so sober for a split second there too,
You know something like that?

Speaker 1 (01:36:21):
Man, she been that right ankle? I think I would
have waved everybody off and finished everything off. Fine, look
like a pop.

Speaker 3 (01:36:28):
I'm leaving here.

Speaker 1 (01:36:28):
Let me just discussing it. Yeah, you should like talking
like how bad I'm hurting? All that? They were doing
an assessment. How bad is it? Here we go?

Speaker 4 (01:36:38):
Oh, she said, she's holding the right ankle right now.

Speaker 1 (01:36:44):
And everybody's looking at they're discussing that. They're discussing how bad?
Now here do you rush up to her to check
on trying to get up?

Speaker 4 (01:36:54):
Did you see the two girls stop and then go wow,
this looks serious and they kept going, Yeah, you.

Speaker 1 (01:36:58):
Wouldn't have you been all you'd had her? I wouldn't
want to. I would want to a lady lay in there. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:37:03):
Here it is in slow mo. Oh. Man, that touched
the ground.

Speaker 1 (01:37:09):
Her head pretty good too, by the way.

Speaker 6 (01:37:11):
On the chair, she says she wanted to speak to
the baseball manager. She's got that haircut.

Speaker 3 (01:37:16):
Okay, I want to speak to the manager haircut?

Speaker 1 (01:37:18):
