(02:11):
tune in app, Hello podcast archive listeners. However you're here,
we are thankful that you're here, whether that is live
or on an archive, and we have a lot to cover,
have a lot to cover. I want to get to
something that I mentioned at this exact same time yesterday,
so I can give you guys an update. Okay, it's
gonna be uncomfortable for you. Okay, I'm mad at you
(02:34):
for what you sent us yesterday. I was go ahead, Okay,
I'm pointing at Speedy the So you remember the new
friend situation with me and that he put a heart
on a text. So he and I and now this
is a big fellow. I'm talking about play a little
ball kind of picture, shocky as a tidy end. Yeah,
(02:58):
I give you that. Yeah, he said six three on
the high end, almost six four, you know, tat on
tat it up a little bit on one arm. Yeah,
I mean you know, yeah, we're not talking about the
kind of guy that puts a heart on the text. Okay, Well,
so we had a we actually spent some time together
yesterday kind of talking, catching up and even some discussion
(03:23):
that he may join Team man Church. Okay, and I said,
before we go any further, Before we go any further,
there's something I have to know. And he looks at me.
He thinks, I'm about to, you know, open up something.
And I said, I'm gonna. I'm gonna look at our
text back and forth, and I need you to explain
(03:43):
something to me. He said, okay. I said, you sent
me a heart checking and here's good news. He is
what I said, you hearted me and and he and
he said no, I said, uh, and I put he
takes it. Look, he goes, oh my gosh. He said,
I didn't mean to do that. I said, I need
(04:04):
to hear that you don't. I said, I need to
know going forward, going further. I said that was a
little bit reckless. Are you an emoji guy? He said, well,
now I will say that I am. He says, as
a matter of fact, I've kind of messed this up before.
I said, too close to and what I told her
he didn't understand the term trying to be sharp. He's
he's a little bit new Todarurk culture. And I said,
(04:26):
he said, one time I tried to you know, you
can customize emojis. I said, okay. He said, at one
time I had customized an emoji for every one of
my friends. So you got I kind of avatar things,
he said, So I would like take much, He said,
I would like to take you know, And he said,
and I had one for my wife, he said, which
(04:46):
was kissy face. And he said, and one time I
sent that to all my buddies and I said, a
multiple kissy face. And I said, well, see, now you
sent me a heart. You got to stop. I said,
I don't think you can handle emojis. And I said,
so I need to know you didn't mean to heart that.
He said, I did not. And I said, so we
won't see that going further. He said, never again. So
(05:07):
I saw that. Okay, I got to the bottom of it.
Was it tough? It was a tough day. I mean
we had to talk about some some rough stuff. You're
talking about those the little cartoon of people that when
they're talking man, Yeah, yeah, my brother in law he's
made one. And it looks like, by the way, you
got a mullet. It's pretty good. But but I mean
(05:33):
that's not it's not but it's a little little singing Tommy. Yeah,
so uh yeah, it's pretty fun. Look look sitting there
in his little booth today. Yeah, he came in. I
think he came in walking. I'm talking about he's strutting today. Yeah,
he's he's done his job.
Speaker 4 (05:51):
I would never celebrate. Well, yeah, kim On got the axe.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
Look at him, didn't That doesn't that feel good?
Speaker 4 (06:01):
They've been from what I've been reading, that company, the
company that owns it, has been trying to has been
trying to do this for a while. And I think, honestly,
Kimmel saw the writing on the wall with what was happening,
with what happened with Colbert, knew he was in the
exact same chair, the exact His show's too expensive, nobody's
watching nobody, he doesn't have any credibility anymore, and he's
(06:24):
lost his rocker.
Speaker 5 (06:29):
He lost.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
We're just getting started, we're just getting just get some
coffee and him.
Speaker 6 (06:33):
Hey, I talking about Next Star Media Group that sent
out the press release that that they the stations that
they owned, which I think is two hundred inside affiliated
with ABC News or Television. They said that we're going
to preempt the show and.
Speaker 4 (06:47):
Not But speaking of emojis, you sent the news to everybody,
and I laid some emojis out.
Speaker 3 (06:54):
You did, I saw you, you emphasized, told you he
did not want you to do. I think Brody Burgess did
yesterday what I think I saw.
Speaker 7 (07:03):
Brody and I we're just throwing around.
Speaker 3 (07:04):
We're young. I was wondering how you felt about it.
I can't tell what Greg's to your point. Honestly, when
people emphasize things, I don't know who's doing it, I
don't either. You don't say, first of well, you have
to catch it when it first goes out. If you
go back and just a little about.
Speaker 4 (07:17):
You know, if you touch it, it shows you who
did it. If you touch it there, if you just
if you touch my heart, it shows you that you're
touching my heart.
Speaker 3 (07:29):
But yeah, so I it was actually Taylor.
Speaker 7 (07:31):
I did that to bug yall.
Speaker 3 (07:33):
Are you okay? Explanat he put explanation mark? What kind
of the nation marks that you mean? Exclamation exclamation marks whatever, whatever.
Speaker 6 (07:45):
I'm more concerned that Taylor did it.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
Explain things we do.
Speaker 7 (07:53):
But we were talking about your son.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
Set my emojis and y'all need to hand no mind.
Did that was an emo? Is that I was at
a what's that mean. I don't know what you're talking about. Yeah,
it's it's he was it's what you hated yesterday. He emphasized. Yeah, yeah,
well that's not an emoji. No, but you didn't like it. No,
I don't like it now. If you, I just don't
put anything if you ain't got time for that, right,
But but anyway, we'll unpack it. I think what Jimmy
(08:16):
Kimbell fell victim to again, Uh, he fell victim to
what we've said. You got to be more fine than
you are crazy. And if you're if your numbers are
going down and you're really really expensive and you're not
paying for yourself anymore, you don't have the leverage to
get on there and be reckless, especially when you're not
smart enough to look around like you said Adler and
(08:38):
see that everybody that's doing what you did is is
costing them. And I tell the thing that I and
I don't. I don't want to have a vengeful spirit,
but I do think that there's some fun irony. The
left created the cancel culture, and now it's turning back
on them. They created this culture. Yeah, and as we're saying,
(09:01):
there's a difference as We've said a thousand times and
your First Amendment right in working for a private company,
that once you go to work for a company, you
now are under their rules as far as your job
is concerned, not your life and not your jail, not
your right to go out. You can go out and
express yourself anywhere you want to, but when you're going
to express it on their platform that they pay you for,
(09:22):
they have a say. We know that too. I mean,
we work under the same situation. We can say what
we want, but if the people that we work for
and pay us decide that they don't want us doing
that on their platform, they can take us off like that.
So true, that's true, and that didn't violate our First Amendment, right,
(09:43):
it means it means that we cross the line with
the people who pay us that they're not going to
and sometimes you'll still get paid according to how your
contract is set up, but you're not guaranteed access to
their waves. You're right, you're right.
Speaker 6 (09:56):
And you know it's interesting here too, because this media
group next our kind of forced Disney's hand. You wonder
if they would have been done anything when they announced that, Hey,
all of the thirty two stations that run, Jimmy Kimmel,
We're not going to and it forced Disney to do something,
you know, it's almost like, hey.
Speaker 3 (10:17):
We're not going to be affiliated with this. It's like
it's like one of your big clients got mad. Yeah,
that's different than small clon getting man.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the hardest working men
in the business, The Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
As America. Y'all good. Here we are by the way
person testing. We got your checks. You're there, but to
get them, so working our way through another day with
you excited about that. If you're maybe catching the show
(11:10):
right now, you're you're listening and all of a sudden,
you're just kind of like you hadn't heard this before
and and you're in this dilemma. See if this is
if this is something you need some answers on somebody
you love. Are you yourself are to the point that
the traditional stepping tub could be hazardous? I'm getting closer.
(11:31):
I mean I'm not there yet, but I mean I
understand a great guy right now, I don't Mom, you
couldn't do a step in you know, right?
Speaker 8 (11:39):
You know?
Speaker 3 (11:39):
I mean so dangerous? Safe step walking tubs they are
the answer out of the great state of Tennessee. Sixteen
hundred dollars off. That's speedy kind of savings right there,
speedy kind of saving. That's good stuff. All you do
is say, hey, I like burging the guys. I listened
to the Rick Burgess Show, Big Vox, all that and
(12:00):
sixteen hundred dollars off. You'll also get it from all
free shower package. Now let's talk about speedy loves the savings.
What do I love? No hassle. They usually can get
this done in one day. They're in there out, they're
in there out, so get it done. And how about this,
it's not gonna be They're gonna turn that bathroom into
a place of tranquility again, where you go to relax,
(12:23):
where you don't have to worry about this. The tubs
are beautiful. They got all kinds of bells and whistles.
So why don't you free no obligation to use them.
Won't you at least talk to them and they can
tell you what they can do with your situation or
a situation for your loved one. Go to Rick Burgess
Show dot com under sponsors. You'll see them right there.
There's the phone number. I'm gonna give it to you
one eight hundred nine five six twelve twenty or just
(12:47):
go there to the sponsors button and talk to safe
step walk in tubs. Okay, anybody greg concerned and we'll
get into more of the what's going on out there
with all the By the way, you think today that
you think today that our little buddy with the tonight show,
(13:08):
Jimmy Fallon, you think he hadn't caught in the meeting.
All right, everybody, let's just go have fun. Yelm, let's
just go have fun.
Speaker 4 (13:17):
And did y'all see what's going to air in the
Jimmy Kimmel timeslot on Friday, a Charlie Kirk tribute.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
Well, you know what, and there's none of those going on.
Speaker 4 (13:25):
And the ratings I think will be massive compared especially compared.
Speaker 3 (13:29):
To of course, of course, well you talk about some
some people are even suggesting, was that you speed just
said that that he knew that it was over and
he just went out there and he's just doing the
chim old that kim Could you think you could see
the writing on the wall like he's already got another game.
Speaker 6 (13:47):
Personally, And I don't know the man, but personally, his
hate for Trump and his hate for the right has
clouded him, and he just I don't think. I think
he just says what's on his heart, and he's just
not a good person, and he just and that's just
how that's just he's that's just his real self.
Speaker 3 (14:05):
That's what he was thinking. What what do you think about?
Speaker 6 (14:07):
Okay, let's say that I was, which is sad that
if somebody's assassinated in broad daylight, that it's a left
or right issue. It's just bad in general, and we
should all agree on that.
Speaker 4 (14:18):
I think I also think it's the lie that he
wanted to perpetuate.
Speaker 3 (14:21):
Yeah, do you think that if I, let's say I'm
I'm CNN right now, picture that I think MSNBC is
too far gone. But let's say that I was CNN
and I see the success that Greg Guttfeld is having
on Fox. Maybe I go get Jimmy and he becomes
my Greg Gutfeld and he can just then then he
(14:44):
can just come out and be as wild as he
wants to be about it. Yeah, and I give him
a that type of show on my on my news
cable station and get him a few people around him
and let him rip.
Speaker 4 (14:56):
He encouraged violence against Tesla owners, so you know he
was a bit right in there.
Speaker 8 (15:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (15:02):
I mean, I'm talking about it because what I was
telling and I think this is the truth, and I
think we, of course we're back in the rickingb other days.
We were always you couldn't put us in a box.
So we didn't fall into this category so much because
you expected, as we said, it was a show about anything.
So there was really no box that we were ever
put in, nor did we want to be. And that's
(15:22):
the same now, even though we are making an intentional effort,
and when things like this happen, it gets tougher to
be more in the comedic category than any of the others.
Sprinkling the others. But I think when you get into
the world of these late night shows, I think the
problem that they run into. I said this off the air.
(15:44):
If I go and turn on Fox News, CNN, MSNBC
News Nation, all that, I know what I'm getting into.
So if I don't like hearing all this toxic back
and forth political stuff, I shouldn't be on that channel.
I went there, that's what they do, so I should
(16:04):
expect to do that when I go to what used
to be. You know, the standard was The Tonight Show
with Johnny Carson, and I turn on that kind of show,
I'm not expecting that. I don't really want that. That
that means I've left. I'm trying to get away from
the news cable twenty four to seven toxic stuff, and
(16:26):
I'm trying to go somewhere where I want to. I
want to hear some celebrity. I'm into their story, how
did they become the successful entertainer. I want to see
them do funny bits. You know, I like a funny monologue,
but I don't want to hear a political monologue. And
then when I go there, I kind of feel like
I've been ambushed or that's not what I was into.
(16:48):
And so I think that's where these shows are. And
then there they've gone so far to your point speed
they turned maniacal. And when you become maniacal, and I
I've been guilty of it at times, that something was
just I was so upset about it that, you know,
people probably turned on the show in the past and
I was on a rant and those are appropriate from
(17:10):
time to time, but you just don't want to hear that.
You know, when you're expecting to be made to laugh.
And I don't fault the I understand. I totally get
if I'm in this business, I don't want to go
do a job that I don't want to do. Like
if somebody said, birds, if you want to stay in
(17:30):
this business, you're gonna be You're gonna become a sports show,
and that's just the way it is, I just wouldn't
do it because that's that's not what I want to do.
So I do understand that. You know, you're like, I
want to be able to express myself the way I
want to. But you have to understand too that there's
a price to pay. But I think people when they
go there are places they can go to get all
(17:52):
of that they want. I mean, there's plenty of it
twenty four seven and on the radio, add on TV.
And I think sometimes unless you can do what those
people are doing better, you might want to do something else.
So when people go I don't want this, they go
find you. But if they go to find you and
get the same thing, right, especially if your political rants
(18:15):
are contrary to theirs, now you now you've got people
in the audience don't like you and some reason.
Speaker 4 (18:22):
He never really struck me as like a great fit
for that late night slot. He wasn't fun like a
Jimmy Fallon, you know, he just wasn't as fun of
a guy.
Speaker 7 (18:32):
It just he fit more on the Man Show.
Speaker 3 (18:34):
Actually, you know you're talking about the one he helps
me forget.
Speaker 7 (18:37):
Right, the black fris what I don't even know what
they'd all.
Speaker 3 (18:42):
The lute stuff with the women.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
Yes, is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 3 (18:47):
Okay, So if you're you're talking about drinking tea, I
mean you would think that that tea ought to be simple.
Some leagues we got some hot water, but I will
tell you it really is. And just like everything else,
you know, we've got you know, China coming in here,
big pharm trying to mess up what should be pretty
(19:09):
pretty simple. So now most of the tea that you
grab off the shelf full of those microplastics, heavy metals,
who knows what else. You might might as well be
steeping a tire in your mug with some of it.
That's why I'm really really excited. And let me tell you,
Sherry and I love Kindred Harvest. Now the tea's done
(19:30):
the right way. It's clean, it's all natural, blended impact
right here in the United States of America. No toxins,
no microplastics, every batch tested by third parties. Even the
bags are biodegradable. If that means something to you. Now,
you're not gonna have any glue, any ink, none of
(19:50):
that stuff. I'm talking about delicious, delicious tea. I mean
when they sent us our first order, Sherry could not
stop raving about it how good it was. And I agree,
it's fantastic. Now, if you need a little pit me
up in the morning, you do their Their hot teas
are great. Uh, they've got caffeine free at night. They've
got iced tea that the kids will will love and
(20:13):
you may prefer that anyway. So if you're looking for
delicious tea, that is the way tea should be. Delicious, natural, wonderful.
Go to Kindredharvest dot Co. Kindred Harvest dot Co. Use
the code Rick. You'll get twenty percent off. That's Kindred
(20:34):
Harvest dot Co. Listen, you're gonna love this tea. Use
the promo code Rick. Kindred Harvest Cultivating Goodness Daily.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
The man who shaved thirty minutes off his last road trip,
Rick Burgess, there.
Speaker 3 (20:58):
Was something to see even had to get by a
wide load. Still still shake some time, all right. So
here we are, uh, making our way through another day together.
We'll get to some of your unscreen phone calls.
Speaker 8 (21:12):
Today.
Speaker 3 (21:12):
I got some pretty good questions out of hate Birds,
which is our email options, Text Nation coming in with
plenty chatting away there into city. So there's all kinds
of ways for you to converse with us and with
each other. So we're we're glad you're here, all right.
So I need this this ongoing, this thing with this
(21:33):
pergola at my house, this pergola? Am I saying it right? Andler, Yes,
it's it's taken over. It's taken over my entire life,
I and the and the you half your yard. And
the problem is, and you know I've learned. Remember I
passed this on to dudes. Some of you have embraced
(21:55):
it and said it really does make a difference. But
I was so tired by the time that I got
to the house yesterday because it was it was a
long day, and we got a lot done. Yesterday's Bible study,
by the way, archive is out there, and we do
we do. We do talk a little bit on the
front end, you know, about the headlines of today in
(22:17):
the assassination and assassination of Charlie Kirk. Some of you
wanted us to talk about that a little bit from
a biblical standpoint, uh, in the Bible Study, and we
did so. But the whole Bible Study is not about that.
It's just the first few minutes. And then we get
into Job chapter thirty one, which is Job's final appeal.
So so and then we went by, you know, because
(22:39):
I I mean, guys, let's just get real. I mean,
let's just talk about it. Okay. Mama just keeps core
and Greg is like he is running the score upon
me and our sister. I don't think is held to
the same standard as us. She gets a pass. Oh well,
you know, she's you know, she's single mom, and she's
very busy, and you know, she's the teacher and whatever.
(23:01):
So she gets a pass. And she also has kids
now that can drive, but they're still young enough you
know that you know, they can go see their grandmother,
you know, and so them be coming over. She's got
some things some that you know, Greg's got some you
know grandkids that are her great grandkids. He uses those well,
(23:22):
and and so Greg, you know, is you know, he's
the grocery guy, as I had to hear again yesterday,
So I mean, I'll gout on you too, though. Look
I look down at the calendar and I said, oh,
I haven't gone by to see mom in about ten days.
Oh wow. And I was like, I got to get
she probably noticed. Oh Greg, you know this is the
(23:44):
this is does everybody know this one?
Speaker 8 (23:48):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (23:48):
Well, it's good to see you. I was hoping you
were okay, and I was like, I'm doing fine. Somebody
said you went to speak at something. But you know,
usually you text me that you're going to speak somewhere
so I can pray about it and you let me
know when you leave and let me know when you
get home. But I had to hear that, of course,
(24:08):
from somebody else. I didn't. I didn't hear from you.
I wanted to say, Mom, I'm sixty. I don't think
I should tell you like, hey, I'm leaving. Yeah, you know,
I said, Mom, I thought that was just for airplanes. Well,
I mean, you know driving's pretty dangerous too well, and
you know, and I was like, okay, Mom, that.
Speaker 4 (24:24):
Is a good You're more likely to get in a
wreck on the way here go.
Speaker 3 (24:28):
Yes, how about this? So high. Did it go because
normally you update me and I don't know did it go? Well,
course I didn't hear, And yes, ma'am, it did, and
let me tell you all about it. So I did
and took her some dinner and just after your friend lunch, Yes, okay,
I went in. The lunch was just a meeting, okay,
after Bible study, after meeting now mom and so uh
(24:51):
and so I was gonna hang over there for a
little while. And first thing out of her mouth, first thing, oh,
thank you for bringing me something to eat. I'm fully
stopped because you know, Greg took me to the growth
story yesterday, so there are we could have maybe some
dessert after because Greg made sure that I went and
got all my snacks and I was in a goody.
You know Greg's been coming over here and and staying
(25:13):
with me some. Yes, ma'am, I know that Greg Greg
Greg Greg Greg Greg Greg Greg greg Greg. It was
like a Greg fest. Yeah, you know what I mean?
Hey Greg Greg. Greg made me laugh so much. He
started doing impression of that guy. And have you seen Red?
Have you seen? Of course she always gets wrong. Have
you seen? Everybody's got talent? Yeah, and you in America's
got talent. Yeah, everybody's got talent, yes, ma'am. No, ma'am,
(25:35):
I haven't seen it, did you? Has Greg done that
where he raps like that? I said, he told us
about it. I was laughing. He had me laughing so much.
I just really enjoyed my time with him. He sings
me songs they sang mother. Yeah, and then this Are
you ready for this? Are you ready for this? One
direct shot quote? Everybody thinks Greg is so rough and me,
(26:00):
but he really is a good man. Wow, I was.
And what I did when we think that, and and
what my mother was doing not so indirectly. You need
to start acting more like your brother. Oh and uh
these years and uh, you.
Speaker 6 (26:20):
Know, try to heard that conversation and then this Greg
gregging in this.
Speaker 3 (26:27):
And and I know you're doing good things. Uh. And
you know, of course there was a time I wasn't
sure about that. We went through. We went through so
much together, and I, you know, stood by you, and
I was like, yes, ma'am, I'm I'm so thankful for
God's grace me too, and uh and so uh but
(26:47):
but I'm I'm proud of you. I know you busy
and mom I'm here right now. I literally have dinner
and uh and that Greg didn't get okay? And Greg,
and then did you did you remember I like the
potatoes and the fruit. I said, oh, I got rice,
got the I got right rice in the fruit And
she goes, oh, well you know I get choked on that. Yeah.
(27:12):
So I was, so I just take the rice out.
Let me have that, mom, And I don't want you
to choke on the rise. And you've got no because
I know what you get. Then this one, I said, well,
I'm surprised you went back to the shrimp. Last time.
You got a euro? No, no, that was a wrap. No, Mom,
they don't have wraps there. It's a euro. The quote
(27:34):
m m No, Greg got it for me and he
said it was a rap. I said, Greg, Greg's not
in charge of what Greek people call the food. Okay,
it's a euro. It's not a rap. Now I'm defending it.
You know, take a shot at that roe. See how
it goes. No, And so I was I was like,
I'm sorry, I forgot. And so we had a we
had a good time. And so so I get home
(27:57):
and now it's it's post six. Now, okay, I knew it.
I look on the kitchen island and guess what I
see laid out almost takes up the entire kitchen island.
Different colors of stain for the pergola. Oh no, that's
what you came into. Yeah, and she goes, ooh, I'm
(28:18):
glad you're home. Uh, you don't care all come out here.
I want you. I can't decide well on what stain
I want to use, so I want I want your
opinion takes it. We're walking down of the deck now
and there's the giant pergola and there the colors being
held up. Now, I'm so tired. I came so close,
so close, so glad I didn't. Hey, baby, I love
(28:40):
you with all my heart. I couldn't care less about this.
I do not care what stains that. That was the
voice inside me, you know, just recently beat up a
little bit by mom, you know, some bit and yeah
and next month when you go see her again, you work.
Oh so anyway, but anyway, doesn't that feel good?
Speaker 8 (29:02):
Way?
Speaker 3 (29:03):
Greg wall right right into the green field and there
Greg probably not, but anyway, so the uh so I was,
I did what I have my new training and I've
tried to train others, and I had to reach deep.
Oh you know what I did, got real opinionated about it.
I really think it should go more that gray because
that matches the house. Oh you think you should just
(29:26):
match the house? You don't what about what about the
hardwood floors? You know, if I did this one, it's darker,
but it would match the hardwood floors. Yeah, but I
mean out here in the backyard. I mean, you don't
see the hardwood floors. What you see is the color
of our brick. And and uh, I said, you know,
if you wanted all to kind of come together, I
would definitely go with the more of that gray there.
You think you think it kind of a great absolutely
(29:46):
a matter of fact, what do you think about this
over here? It's kind of translucent? But I said, okay,
so it's just gonna look like it looks right now.
We can't tell the difference. Oh yeah, that yeah, it
wouldn't really do I said that may be it be
stained and it'd be you know, weatherised. But I mean
it looked just like it looked right now. I don't
know about that now. Deep down, I don't care what comes.
But guys are telling you I'm telling you these kind
(30:07):
of things. If you get real opinionated about they don't
know what to do. Now, they're still gonna do what
they want to do. But it rescues, yeah, and it
rescues you from them becoming annoyed by your lack of interest.
You know, get real opinionated about it.
Speaker 7 (30:22):
And take it easy. Chip Gains.
Speaker 3 (30:26):
Speaking of people who've lost their way. But anyway, so
so anyway, I got real opinionated about it. But I
thought to myself, this Pergola, it's like it it's like
it owns my my my home experience right now. You
can't ignore it's gigantic.
Speaker 2 (30:44):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (30:44):
And you know, now there was a time where we
would go ahead and eat on on the screened and porch.
It would be a pleasant experience. Now once I go
out there, there it is. You know, I'm still not
sure about that thing. Gray, definitely. Gray. Hey, if I
come home and that purgle is not great, I will
tell you this, I'll be disappointed. It's your call, you know.
I mean it's I mean, they're still gonna do what
(31:06):
they want to do, which I who cares, you know,
But but it's just like they don't remember what the
choice were because I mean, I found out. It took
a while to be married for a while to realize.
All they're doing is bouncing it off of you. They're
not you're you don't have a say in it, right,
and they just want to talk about it, which is
kind of the female experience about a lot of things.
(31:27):
But get involved. They don't know what to do about it.
Speaker 1 (31:32):
This is the Rick Burgess Show is life statement, Suck
(32:01):
it up, butter of cop Rick.
Speaker 3 (32:03):
Butch's America is here and we thank you for being here.
All right? So, oh, I didn't know that. Text Nation
says the audience that catches the network spots, saying that
(32:25):
someone's a little bit out of Huntle said, look, I'm
struggling a little bit today, guys. Apparently they replaced David
with Douglas on the privaging commercial. So David is out,
Douglas is in.
Speaker 7 (32:36):
My name is Douglas?
Speaker 3 (32:38):
Maybe to call him back? Do you know?
Speaker 5 (32:44):
David?
Speaker 3 (32:47):
Massive asteroid bigger than a skyscraper headed toward Earth at
twenty four thousand miles an hour.
Speaker 6 (32:52):
Everybody, Okay, Well, I mean I printed this for you guys,
because I know that we like asteroid talk.
Speaker 3 (32:59):
We do.
Speaker 6 (33:00):
But you're not really concerned about it. You start reading
the details of it at all. But I think it
was supposed to be today or this morning.
Speaker 3 (33:08):
It passes. Is this why we had a lot of
end of time people? Is this time? That's no?
Speaker 4 (33:14):
No?
Speaker 3 (33:15):
Oh no, different, different end of time?
Speaker 6 (33:17):
So the actual I think September twenty third is end
of time that we we can bring it back up here.
Speaker 3 (33:23):
I believe it's the end of time.
Speaker 6 (33:26):
Yeah, September twenty third, Get ready for September twenty third,
end of time.
Speaker 3 (33:31):
Okay, so that's we got some time there, all right.
So if this isn't click bait, clickbait, I don't know
what is right. So all they tell you is it's
headed toward the Earth at twenty four thousand miles an hole,
fast fast. But then you look into it, it's not
going to hit us. No, they just keeping a close
eye on it. That's what they tell us.
Speaker 4 (33:53):
No danger of collision, says NASA. But the thing is
one hundred and fifty eight meters in diameter. If I
knew what a meter was, that would be impressive.
Speaker 2 (34:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (34:02):
Yeah, I'm gonna hang on to the bigger than a skyscraper.
Speaker 6 (34:06):
Okay, is this the one that we brought up a
week or so ago and we were like, hey, it
could get pulled right.
Speaker 3 (34:12):
Yes or something? Remember, yes, it was Okay. It says
that this one could come within four point six million
miles of Earth. Hmm, so that's a yeah, you say million? Yeah, okay,
four point six million miles of from Earth. I don't,
(34:32):
I don't know't. Yeah, that's uh, I'm sorry, that's not
getting my attention.
Speaker 4 (34:37):
This isn't I think this is not the same as
that interstellar object.
Speaker 3 (34:42):
Okay, that wasn't the same.
Speaker 4 (34:44):
I think it's I think this is an asteroid that
is something from like out of our solar system. Okay,
that's coming in October. Okay, versus the versus is the
asteroid here, but I'm double checking that right now.
Speaker 3 (35:00):
All right, so we've got more than one. But this
is again, this one also is not going to hit us,
but yet they keep warning us that it's coming. Yes, yes,
I really I want to know if one's going to
hit us. That's big, so speedy. Why are we Why
is the world ending? On the twenty third?
Speaker 6 (35:22):
So I was I was sitting here looking at this
and this is just me kind of going through it
because we had brought this up, and of course I
can't ever remember we talked about so much. Yes, but
the September twenty third date is tied to a viral
prophecy of biblical texts such as Revelations twelve, which.
Speaker 3 (35:48):
Is it just it just let's see it is.
Speaker 6 (35:51):
Which are disputed by mainstream Christianity and science. The South
African pastor predicted Jesus' second coming would be on September
twenty third or twenty fourth, twenty twenty five. This is not,
of course, supported by biblical scholars and science. Organizations like
NASA have debunked similar doomsday theories based on so.
Speaker 3 (36:18):
So Revelation twelve is the Woman and the Dragon? I
don't know, I hadn't heard. But bottom line is, we've
got some crackpot again out there claiming they've figured out,
you know, when the world's going to end. And as
we have said a thousand times, the minute you hear that,
you know that it's not now. If you want to say,
(36:39):
as I believe, but we don't know the number we're
in the end times. These we got birth pains going on,
like Jesus talked about in Matthew twenty four. And you know, sure,
I got no problem with that, but I think you
can make that case. But the case you can't make
is you know what day this is? You just can't.
(37:01):
And and so anytime you hear that, you know that
that's not the truth. And the problem is even you know,
all those that have tried to predict this, and I
don't want to get, you know, too deep into biblical
text here, but the ones who predicted have got the
same problem that has always existed. Is the seventieth week
(37:22):
as the prophecy of Daniel. No one knows how long
that week is, right, you know, everything else that Daniel
saw has come to pass. But when Daniels showed things
that were still future to us, he's getting into the
church age, which he doesn't really understand. And the church
age and the number of the gentiles coming in and
all that is a number that nobody knows. So nobody
(37:45):
knows how long the church age is going to last.
So that's why these predictions of specific days and times,
you know, cannot be done.
Speaker 6 (37:56):
So so that this pastor and and others that have
gone viral with this. So if we get to September
twenty fourth, I mean, how do they walk that back.
Speaker 7 (38:06):
What do they do.
Speaker 4 (38:07):
Do they feel stupid, I feel shame, or they just
don't care.
Speaker 3 (38:10):
I mean I can predict, you know, a college football score,
and if I'm wrong, I get back Monday and I'm like,
you know, hey, that wrong. Yeah I had that wrong.
But if I'm predicting the end of the world, yeah,
it's a big mess.
Speaker 6 (38:21):
It, you know, is coming and we wake up the
next day and everything's just like normal.
Speaker 3 (38:25):
Yeah. You know that reminds me of weather people. I
don't ever really it's hard to get sports people to
admit they got it wrong. Yeah, it's almost impossible to
get weather people to admit they never like they'll get
the forecast wrong and they want But if you predicted
the world's going to end and you're standing on it,
you give everybody a date. I know some have come
(38:47):
back and said, well I missed it, but now here's
a new date. Now they will do that. Yeah. Yeah,
but I'm with your Your credibility of predicting end times
kind of phades the first time you miss one. Yeah,
but I've seen them trying to reset and do it again.
Speaker 4 (39:02):
The climate people, you know, the climate the sky is
falling people, they've figured it out that they have to
stick around seven years. Just keep pushing that seven years, hey, guys,
seven years, and just keep pushing that, and you're then
you'll kind of be okay. Just don't tweet any specific
dates because then we'll bring them up and say, remember
(39:22):
when you said twenty twenty one, there wouldn't be any
you know, ice at all on the whole planet.
Speaker 3 (39:27):
Yeah, you know, yeah yeah, and away from that, yeah,
some of your climate people have learned, like you said,
Adler and Greg get touched on this. They've learned, you're
really better to make a prediction that nobody listening to
you will be alive when it comes, you know, and
then that way you can't really be held accountable for it.
And you try to get people concerned about the people
that will be here, even though there's no way we
(39:47):
would be, you know. So so anyway, so boy, this
is funny here.
Speaker 6 (39:52):
So the New York Post actually did a story on
this on September the eighth. Pastor says Vision told him
Jesus will return to Earth this month, and they.
Speaker 7 (40:03):
Are the climate posters.
Speaker 4 (40:05):
They're like, all right, how can I make this as
vague as possible but also as scary as possible.
Speaker 3 (40:10):
Yeah, they always go hand in hand.
Speaker 7 (40:12):
And speaking of asteroids, where's Craig.
Speaker 3 (40:14):
Yeah, a lot of a lot of things going on
and now a lot of moving part No bun intended
to talk.
Speaker 1 (40:24):

Speaking of the email option, Kyburge, heyburg I know that
(42:49):
you guys discussed the lady taking the ball from the
kids and how the internet went crazy and you know
or famous have y'all scene are discussed And the answer
is no, I've not heard about this. I just talked
to Adler about it. The Trey Taylor at Crew Tractor
video where the guys were fishing in his pond, so
(43:12):
his dad pulled up told them to leave, And now
the internet has decided to make the trespassers the victims.
I'm not familiar with this, Adler, are you so?
Speaker 4 (43:21):
I was not familiar. I'm I'm not in the internet.
You know what I'm saying. I'm not that deep in
the Internet. So there's so many things that happen that
I don't even know about it anymore. But I look
this up and it is funny. This old guy comes
up to two kids that are fishing on a pond
and tells.
Speaker 7 (43:36):
Them to hit the road. Buddy, hit the road.
Speaker 4 (43:39):
And now people are parodying it.
Speaker 3 (43:41):
Oh, I see, So now it's become the thing we're
all supposed to do.
Speaker 7 (43:44):
It's like a meme. Now, is it how he said it?
Speaker 10 (43:46):
Yes?
Speaker 4 (43:47):
Okay, it is hilarious. Actually, do y'all want to hear
this old guy?
Speaker 8 (43:50):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (43:50):
Of course.
Speaker 4 (43:50):
Okay, all right, hold on, let me have you really, Greg?
Speaker 3 (43:53):
Okay, I may be wrong.
Speaker 4 (43:54):
All right, let me see it here he is. He
is funny, and he's all old and he is astounded.
Speaker 3 (44:01):
I don't want him fishing.
Speaker 7 (44:03):
I just closed the page. I'll find it.
Speaker 3 (44:04):
I'm my friend.
Speaker 7 (44:07):
I don't know why I was jumping on.
Speaker 3 (44:08):
So are people making trespassures out to be victims or
is that just something? I mean, I mean, it's it's
not getting fishing. We had, we had, we had people
run us all. We still crab apples, right and and
you know, there's there's been a couple of kids I've
had to talk to now at the farm, trying to
teach them a little lesson.
Speaker 6 (44:27):
But at the end of all in that society now though,
now now the victim is is it could be the
perpetrator or somebody because it's not their fault, you know, all.
Speaker 4 (44:37):
Right here, So yeah, this is okay, you haven't seen this.
I help about the right video, but because it is
funny and the guy's talks, he talks about Trey Taylor
like you were talking about.
Speaker 11 (44:46):
Right, permission yeah, permission from Trey Taylor.
Speaker 5 (44:50):
Trey Taylor, crew tractor, Oh, crew tractor.
Speaker 12 (44:53):
Yeah, who told you fish?
Speaker 3 (44:56):
Here.
Speaker 5 (44:57):
I thought of state property.
Speaker 11 (44:59):
State.
Speaker 12 (45:00):
Yeah, hit the road, dude, This ain't no state property.
This is private property. Your name, man, I want your name.
I can call down and see who gave you permission?
Speaker 5 (45:12):
My name on state property. My name Hubert, last name John't.
Speaker 11 (45:17):
You but Jones? That's I never heard that fore in
my life.
Speaker 13 (45:23):
And a man just called me and called tree and said,
trade the officient fun.
Speaker 11 (45:28):
He said, to lock them up, man, lock them up. Man,
you better leave because I tell you stay.
Speaker 3 (45:38):
With it driving off tail. I caught it, timound.
Speaker 2 (45:44):
Like that.
Speaker 13 (45:44):
I let your road.
Speaker 4 (45:46):
I let you fish.
Speaker 5 (45:47):
I'm cool like that. Hit the road, the road, get stuck.
Speaker 11 (45:51):
Don't get stuck now, Yeah, what matter worry about? You
get stuck by the law. From Trey Taylor.
Speaker 5 (46:01):
Trey Taylor tractor? Oh cow tractor?
Speaker 3 (46:04):
Who tractor?
Speaker 11 (46:05):
Who told you?
Speaker 5 (46:06):
I love this state property?
Speaker 3 (46:09):
That's hill by the way. That the video better than
I thought it was gonna be. Yeah, many better than
I thought it was. Watching over and over, I could
I could too, possibly ten times. Of course, it reminds
me you got permission on Trey Taylor crew tractor here
(46:30):
and to ron. I ain't never heard that one before
that guy's name was Herbert Jones. Me and Kate's got
a similar thing like that when we were teenagers. And
Kate told the guy that Jimmy Dean's that we could
be in there. Jimmy said, I don't know jimmy name,
but he never missed he's He goes what Jimmy Dean said.
Speaker 6 (46:58):
I love the guy you call your roll, you call
your property one time, and you asked him who gave
him permission?
Speaker 3 (47:05):
He went, well, Rick, I'm Rick.
Speaker 7 (47:10):
I didn't talk to Trey.
Speaker 3 (47:12):
He said he had to roll, ck them off, knock
them off, tractor. Stay you talk about trail over crew tractor.
As he's leaving, and tell Tray, I caught a Tim
Penner out this, I said, lock him off. But look
it's and you know it goes back to this and
(47:32):
and I've had to deal with this and you know,
and and I don't. I didn't I tried, of course.
Basically we just saw Gary. That's that's Trey. Taylor's Gary exactly. Huh,
Hey did you get in permiation from Rick?
Speaker 5 (47:44):
Be down here?
Speaker 3 (47:45):
That's exactly what it is. Yeah, And you know, and
they Gary come up Garrit like him. You know Gary
should Gary choked the poacher one time choked him. That's brilliant.
I said, I said, Gary, what, what did would the
law say when when you start choking? They said what
all I could hear was him hollering Gary, Gary. They
did him go and uh so, so you know, lock
(48:09):
him up a state. I really want to watch it again.
Speaker 4 (48:16):
People are now messing with him and like they're posting
pictures like I caught this in Trey Taylor's pond. Fantastic
are saying there's a fishing tournament happening in October.
Speaker 3 (48:27):
Taylorantastic, you got permission to him and Trey Taylor and
crew Tractor.
Speaker 7 (48:34):
Can we watch it again?
Speaker 3 (48:35):
Of course? Okay? What's your name? So? I can't get
enough for this? Okay, what he said? You got permission
being And also we hear case go Jimmy Dean told
me Jimmy won't. It's still in part two when he
tried the game.
Speaker 5 (48:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (48:49):
Oh from Trey Taylor.
Speaker 5 (48:52):
Trey Taylor Tractor, Oh cool tractor?
Speaker 11 (48:55):
Yeah? Who told you?
Speaker 5 (48:58):
I thought that was state? Probably state?
Speaker 12 (49:03):
The state hit the road, dude, This ain't no state property.
This is private property. Your name and I want your name.
I can call down and see who gave you permission?
Speaker 3 (49:14):
My name state property, my name Hubert of course Jones.
Speaker 11 (49:21):
I ain't never heard of that full in my life.
Speaker 13 (49:24):
And a man just called me and called tree and
said trade the efficient fun.
Speaker 11 (49:29):
He said, to lock them up, Oh man, lock them up.
Speaker 3 (49:36):
This guy. This is great, thank you email because this
is when he tries to take off and he's in
park and they got don't you worry about me? Don't
you lock them up? But it's hit the road state,
hit the road of state, and it's what, what what
(49:56):
we've done? Of course, you know, once I got Gary
settled down, it's just she kind of just teach, and
you know, I told you the young man had got
caught down there because they you know, they call fun
because that was harling got him. But you know, because
everybody looks after it. And I just explained to him
why why it is a problem, because especially with all
this talk of and Adam was the first one out there,
(50:17):
go get a little bit serious. But it's true. You know,
there's one thing to say. You know, we certainly want
there to be quality for everybody, but equity is not
something that is guaranteed to anyone. And what happens is
a lot of times the attitude is of young people
because so is they see, they see a pond, and
they've got access to it, and they couldn't care less
(50:38):
how much money you've put in it, how much maintenance
you work on it, how you it's for your family,
how many taxes you pay on it. They think they
should have access to it because you've got it. Because
you got it, they should have it. And and so
all I did was just trying to talk to the
young man about how how much investment this is. And
you know, what if what if all of a sudden,
Trey Taylor does not he wanted to fish today, you know,
(51:00):
or bring his kids down there, and who pays the
taxes that keeps it stock does all that? And I
just asked the old man if he would like to
join me and the expenses and and maybe just ask
permission as opposed to taking something and you benefiting from
all the work the money that we my family's put
in this, and you just want to come up here
and fish and let us pay the bill. And I said, say, now,
(51:21):
how does that sound? He said, well, that don't really
sound fair, I said, because it's not you know, if
you want to him, if you want to participate in
the funding, then you know, let me know how much
you want to put in and maybe just ask permission.
And you know what, if we're not coming down there
and you're a nice young man, might get might might
not be a problem.
Speaker 8 (51:42):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (51:43):
Hooper Jones is making is printing lock them up shirts
and it's a fishing handcuff, so you better leave.
Speaker 3 (51:50):
Funny.
Speaker 1 (51:51):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the man who informed

Speaker 10 (53:59):
Gone.
Speaker 3 (54:00):
He sounds like he's from Louisiana, is he or is
he just Virginia? Virginia Crewe, Virginia.
Speaker 1 (54:05):
So Todd Nation did.
Speaker 3 (54:07):
Trade Taylor over a Crew Tractor. Tay, you could come
here and this here poll.
Speaker 4 (54:13):
The The guy in the video is Trey Taylor's dad. Oh,
so we figured out Trey Taylor owns crew Tractor and
he has come He's had to come out and say, look,
my dad handled it probably in a more mean way,
to apologize. And he's saying, actually, I'm gonna throw at
(54:35):
the event. So I think the October twenty fifth event
is actually his event.
Speaker 3 (54:38):
Oh he really is going to do it now.
Speaker 14 (54:40):
Just yeah, that's not the way I want to handle
things personally. For myself, I want to apologize. I'm sorry
for all this has been going around around by me
and my family, my business. That's not us, that's not
me in this community. I've been a crew tractor all
my life. I've been born and raised here. I've been
here for over thirty years actually involved in the business.
I was born and raised to treat people's respect, be polite,
(55:01):
and matter to people. And that's how I handle the
situation of my business. That's how my employees handle my
customers and everyone in the community. Unfortunately, this whole situation
because somebody race issue, what does that mean my family
or my business? It has become way bigger than a property.
Few to the people in this video in the community
like to invite you to my business crew Tractor and
Crew Virginia.
Speaker 3 (55:22):
Let's shake hands, become friends.
Speaker 1 (55:24):
Let's put this thing.
Speaker 14 (55:24):
Behind us, and everybody move on and live a respectful life.
Speaker 3 (55:27):
Come on, is everything now that has nothing to do
with the ethnicity. We're just obsessed with it. Like you
said the other day, at it, we're just obsessed with color.
Speaker 5 (55:37):
Now.
Speaker 3 (55:38):
It's two young males. It's been a common thing that's
been going on as long as there's been farmers, as
long as people have owned land, and as long as
as they've had farm binds. Yeah, young males, maybe even
females will go in and sneak and try to fish,
and we all learn a lesson. We all got rent on.
When somebody tells us that we don't have mission and
(56:00):
that maybe we might want to get permission, that's a
good lesson to teach somebody, right, and that that and
having an old man like that come in there and
clear this up for you is something that should not
be demonized. It ought to be celebrated. And those young
guys they were they were cutting up to they were
there was no harm being done to anybody. The funny,
(56:21):
and we've turned it into some kind of race thing. Yeah,
of course, Virginia's goten kind of there that you know.
That's the same place we had some pretty outrageous leftist stuff. Guys,
We got to get over ourselves. This was part of culture.
That was a good thing. Older men teaching young men lessons.
That's a good thing. He didn't hurt them, he didn't
(56:43):
grab them, and he didn't say you think we were
never told by the old man that that owned the land.
If you boys don't learn this lesson, I won't call
the law to you, of course, and they don't call
the law to us. It was about you. It was
about you learning to fear repercussions for your actions. And
you don't just go on somebody else's property and without
(57:05):
permission and do whatever you want. Okay, that's I mean,
let me tell you this. The times we're living in now,
let me tell you why this lesson is so important.
You may get your stupid self shot. I wish it
wouldn't be that way because it didn't call for that.
But I'm just saying, there's some crazy people out there,
and people are afraid. Now, you know, there was a
day when if old man saw us on his land,
he wasn't afraid. But now you might have some young
(57:28):
buck that's gonna come in there and you know, come
into your house and you don't know anymore, and so
that could have potentially been a dangerous situation. But it wasn't.
That was fun. Man. I have that old man come
down there and gun without fish. Can it just be
a funny video? And everybody just think the guy that
took the video. I mean, those young males did not
(57:50):
seem bothered. They were cut Jones is a good one.
I would have made a name. Their tone was very pleasant.
It wasn't like they were being confrontational. If you Arrel
Kates had access to the technology that these young men have,
he would have got on video him saying Jimmy Dean, Yeah,
and we would have played it and we laughed our
(58:10):
heads off, and and you know we would have said, well,
let's don't go back and fish over there, because that
old man's gonna get us. And that'd been enough. Like
I said, I used to steal crab apples and plump
watermelons boys, and you know, they didn't really care but
they wanted to make a point.
Speaker 6 (58:24):
Yeah, so I guess Crew Tractor on TikTok has become
a thing they did. They say one of these guys
actually went there and apologized.
Speaker 1 (58:32):
To him or something.
Speaker 7 (58:33):
They've like mad up and made good.
Speaker 8 (58:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (58:35):
By the way, Crew Tractor, pretty nice showroom. But you
talk like Crew Tractor Virginia. Let me tell you what
it is. The the the young men or boys whatever
they were in the video, they're not mad. They've gone
to They've got at least one of them. And once
again you probably without me even looking, a bunch of
(58:56):
white liberals have have declared that they were treated poorly
because of their race, on their behalf, even when they
don't feel that way. You got you always got to
have some white liberal go speak on behalf of black people.
Uh you know that there probably lives in suburbia. Uh,
that's that that probably doesn't know anything and that and
they think somehow, you know, they've elevated themselves by being
(59:18):
the spokesperson on behalf of these poor black people. They
can't speak for themselves. I mean, how arrogant is that?
I mean, let let this kind of stuff continue. We
need this for all young males regardless of skin color.
You need an old man to come tell you you
can't just come and fish at somebody's pond, or grab
their apples or still their watermelons for or you know,
(59:42):
go go get stuff off off somebody's porch. You can't
do that. And that this this is a good thing,
and we've demonized it to the point the guy's business
is getting I mean, I thought it's hilarious. Remember this
council culture that that you guys created is costing some
of y'all's heroes now, yeh, but y'all created it. Now,
(01:00:05):
now everybody's got to live in it, including Jimmy Kimmel
bottom of the all y'all that got fired over the
last few days, we'll be back.
Speaker 1 (01:00:16):
This is the Rick Burgess Show in a world that
has gone nuts. They are here too well to point
it up. The Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 3 (01:00:39):
Yeah, that's what we do. We keep it real, we
unpack it, try not to wallow in it too much.
But I'm gonna tell you right now, we can't get
enough a crew tractor and uh Trey Trey Taylor, thank
enough of it. And so just now with the world
of AI and everything now we've already got a song
(01:01:02):
about it. Ether are you saying what is?
Speaker 15 (01:01:03):
Yes?
Speaker 7 (01:01:04):
Yes, and just can you just retell people just what
happened real quick in the video?
Speaker 3 (01:01:08):
Yeah, so what you got? Apparently, you know, Trey Taylor
Crew Tractor has some land with a pond on it,
and there were some young men fishing on it without permission,
and his daddy went down there and said, you know,
get out of here, you got to go and ran
them off and said that they didn't have permission from
Trey Taylor and it ain't stated state and so this
(01:01:33):
is that then and ran them off and for some
reason on something that at one time would have barely
been mentioned in your neighborhood because it was so common
now has become some big issue in Virginia to the
point that people are after Crew Tractor. But anyway, so
here we go an AI song about it.
Speaker 4 (01:01:51):
Yeah, here's an AI song about it. And this was
actually put out by Crew Tractor. I don't know if
they made the song, but they did post the song.
It's very funny. And throughout the video, uh, Trey Taylor
is shaking hands with people of the communities.
Speaker 8 (01:02:04):
There you go.
Speaker 3 (01:02:10):
I was in my pickup truck. I saw some kids
and they were fishing tractor.
Speaker 16 (01:02:17):
So I rolled up and asked him if they had
written permission.
Speaker 3 (01:02:23):
He said for the Taylor. This is property of the state.
Speaker 7 (01:02:29):
Then I said, son, I gotta.
Speaker 8 (01:02:32):
Get your name.
Speaker 7 (01:02:35):
He said, my first name is Hubert, my last name
is John.
Speaker 3 (01:02:42):
And that's when I told him a shocking This was privately.
Speaker 17 (01:02:46):
Office told you better.
Speaker 2 (01:02:49):
Hit the road.
Speaker 7 (01:02:51):
Grave danger.
Speaker 1 (01:02:53):
I want a comper tractor and tall with Taylor.
Speaker 5 (01:03:01):
So there you go.
Speaker 3 (01:03:02):
That's funny.
Speaker 6 (01:03:03):
So now for those of you that could not see
a lot a lot of the folks in the video
or him and like a black guy or something, and
it's different people.
Speaker 3 (01:03:11):
Some that are customers, that are friends. It's just basically
Trey Taylor with as many black men as you could
possibly be with her. They're all smiling. Everybody text Nation.
Sitting here thirty minutes from crew tractor. I think I'm
gonna go buy something from Florida. How would Gary have
handled the situation? Always somebody videoed him, Hey man, y'all
(01:03:35):
got permission to be here. Have y'all got permission for
Rick Burgess with the Rick Burgess Show to be here?
Speaker 5 (01:03:44):
State?
Speaker 3 (01:03:48):
You can't even have a pond without people with tradition
in it, like come up, hey, let me tell all
y'all something. So you didn't think I was gonna show
up here today. He thought you're gonna come down here
fish a little bit. And so first mistake you, mate,
is thinking you could have something. Let me tell you something.
You can't have this not as long as giggle with
two hours is around old double r old double. If
(01:04:09):
y'all want to do some fishing, do like most people do.
You go down there and you find your spotty Late Mitchell.
That is state. That is state. It looked like old
Tray's pawd Trey Taylor. Uh, his pond was right there
on a road to raise hand if you wouln't mind fishing,
looked good. There was no fence, and so I mean
(01:04:31):
they might have known they were trespassed, but they might
have just thought, hey, here's they said it was state property,
here's a pond, and we just pull over. And well
being being someone who grew up in small town Alabama,
I don't know what it is with like small town Virginia,
but it sounds sometimes like it can be. Uh, you know,
it can be very similar. Two things in my life
I can say I've never been given a speeding ticket
(01:04:52):
that I wasn't speeding, and I've never fished on private
land without knowing what I was doing. Yeah, I knew
it wasn't what sure whose it was? You? It wasn't mine,
But uh, it's right here by the road. Yeah, so
it must belown to the state. Yeah, I mean state state.
Speaker 4 (01:05:08):
You would agree that that fishing, I mean, while not
good deer hunting, that's a whole other level.
Speaker 3 (01:05:17):
And that's that's that's got weapons. Yeah, now you got
you got weapons. And again you're you're you're letting somebody
work hard and try to create an environment to grow
good deer, and you let them do all that and
then you slipping and trust you want.
Speaker 6 (01:05:32):
I'm a little disappointed in Greg and some of his
minions are as well. He hasn't brought this up as
a publicity stunt.
Speaker 3 (01:05:39):
And well, I just I don't know. It was too
It just seemed too real. Okay, Well, your bunch is
no flag, no fla. I don't want to, you know,
I don't just you know, blindly run into it.
Speaker 5 (01:05:52):
It.
Speaker 3 (01:05:53):
It didn't look like it was a put on, somebody said,
and it might be the old Man's an Academy awarded actor,
and I didn't know who he was, well about Trey
Taylor's daddy. Trey Taylor's daddy, old Man Taylor. Yeah, Trey Taylor.
So anyway, the some and it does fall into the
category of somebody said, that's about how much credibility it hads.
(01:06:13):
But one of the text nations, and text nations usually
on top of a lot of things. Now they'll sometimes
get a little over, you know, but uh, they're saying
that the real problem that there was at one time
somebody came in videoing and that Trey Taylor had had
a different attitude about it, and people got mad that
he was that upset about it. Now I don't know,
it was just mad about them. Yeah, well he was
(01:06:35):
mad about them fishing, and he actually was more upset
than he And I don't know whether that's like I said,
that's as somebody said.
Speaker 6 (01:06:43):
See, you know, if you watch the whole series on TikTok,
the original video was not the one that got them
in a buying. Trey Taylor got his rump on his
shoulders after it went viral, to the point where he
ambushed the guy videoing in his office with a buddy
that was pressing charges for fishing in another pond or something.
Speaker 3 (01:07:04):
To that effect.
Speaker 7 (01:07:04):
I don't even understand what that.
Speaker 3 (01:07:06):
I don't know what that. I don't either.
Speaker 4 (01:07:09):
Trey Taylor because what we saw Trey Taylor addressed, my
dad came up. I wasn't there when it happened. What
what Trey Taylor was addressing sounded exactly like the video
that we.
Speaker 7 (01:07:19):
Played, So I don't I don't know what that.
Speaker 3 (01:07:20):
They're claiming that the guys went to the store and apologize,
and that Trey Traylor went ahead and called the police
on them even after they apologize. Guys, I don't know.
I have no idea, idea. I'm just telling you. I
just saw that one video and it was funny.
Speaker 5 (01:07:34):
And there.
Speaker 3 (01:07:36):
Let's leave it. Let's go back to this. This is
the bottom line, and I know that we don't care
about law and order anymore. I got it, Okay, not
that it needs to be a big deal, but the
bottom line is if you go on somebody's private property
and trespass and fish hunt, ride four wheelers. I mean,
I've had idiots go into, uh you know, parts of
(01:07:57):
our land and get in there in the mud and
spin out and tear off our grass up and everything.
If you do those kinds of things, you're the one
who's wrong. And if you deal with someone who doesn't
take it lightly and acts anyway, that's on you. Okay, Now,
do I think that you should that this is that
big a deal. It's nice time to teach like the
(01:08:18):
old man was doing. I'm fine with that. Do I
think it's something that you should, you know, put people
in jail over. It'scording what they did on your property
if they're not damaging it. It's a pretty common thing
for boys to fish in upon and get in trouble
with whoever it owns to. I got no problem with that.
But what I'm saying is what we can't lose is
that if you decide to do that, you don't know
who you're going to be dealing with. You might deal
(01:08:40):
with someone who, like me, just explains to them why
this is not probably the way to do it. Or
you may deal with somebody that shoots you. You may
deal with someone who grabs you. But once you decide
to go on somebody else's property and do anything, whatever
happens is on you, not them. They're not You're not
(01:09:03):
the victim because you put yourself in that situation and
there's repercussions to decisions we make. It's happened in my life,
it's happened to everybody's life. But this thing of we
get more caught up on how the person who calls
this situation they're not the victim. And it don't get
me wrong, I don't think these guys should have been
treated poorly and thrown it. I'm not saying that, but
(01:09:25):
I'm saying, if that happens, that's because you picked the
wrong place to fish, not not because because the person
can use their authority anyway they choose, and you're at
the mercy of them when you decide to go on
their property.
Speaker 6 (01:09:42):
So that that's so that are offended. Aren't shopping there anyway?
To your point that you think on a map.
Speaker 3 (01:09:49):
Oh yeah, you think, you know, it's one of those
things where you know suddenly you know they're they're standing
up for people that trespass on somebody's land. But if
you know somebody says something, they don't lie, you know,
than to think you should be you know, harmed in
some way. They're very inconsistent. But anybody who has an
emotional worldview can't be consistent because the heart's the most
deceptive part of us there is, which is why you don't.
(01:10:12):
You don't lead with it, you don't follow it. The
worst advice you've ever been given is follow your heart. Terrible,
terrible advice. We'll be back that name, but I'm with you.
I just want to go back and enjoy the original
video because I think it's hilarious.
Speaker 5 (01:10:29):
Shall we not just do that?
Speaker 3 (01:10:30):
I think it's hilarious. Lock them up, portray long.
Speaker 1 (01:10:37):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. It's like eating lunch
at the cool table, the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 3 (01:10:54):
Thank you America for being with us today. Still the
come on screen phone calls have gone there yet, probably
will coming up a little bit later on More updates
coming Yesterday's Wednesday Bible study. That archives available to you
now if you want it. Joke thirty one Strange Encounters,
episode fifteen coming out this weekend. We'll record that today
(01:11:17):
and so enjoy that. Are get informed with that outline?
Enjoyable it is sometimes, but it's important. So that's all
coming out this weekend as well. NC double A to
eliminate spring transfer portal window for football, So just football
gotta kind of bring it in a little bit, bring
it in. We got to do something. It's the wild,
(01:11:38):
wild West. We got to do something crazy. So there's
only going to be one transfer portal in the spring.
One is going to be eliminated. So that's you know,
I think that'll help. It's not. There needs to be
a little more done to kind of bring this into
(01:11:59):
some sort of structure. But that's that's a start.
Speaker 6 (01:12:01):
Well, I mean, if you think about it, I mean,
I'm a coach, you know, and I got a roster
and we go through string or whatever, and I think, okay,
I got my guys, and then all of a sudden,
either they leave or and then if I'm if I'm
somebody working on the depth chart to get get my position,
I think, okay, I've solidified myself, and all of a sudden,
here comes somebody else in. After it's over, you know,
(01:12:24):
you're like good, gracious. At some point we got to know, like,
this is who we've got, this is our roster this year.
Let's get prepared for the season. And everybody stopped moving
around so late.
Speaker 3 (01:12:34):
Yeah, I don't even know how. I don't even know
how you can coach in that. I don't either. Yeah,
it's impossible. So it's just one window now, Yeah, one window.
So that that way when you get into spring, you know,
this is a team I got, you know, and uh
and we're ready to go okay to some degree, yeah
right until until they found some other way to leave, right.
Speaker 6 (01:12:57):
Hey, speaking of sports, you know, Chicago, uh had a
lot of rough press. Normally it's sadly about the shooting
over the weekend and the death, but more of a
fun story about Chicago. The Chicago Cubs are going to
the playoffs, and they clinched for the first postseason birth
it's twenty twenty.
Speaker 3 (01:13:14):
Forgot baseball was still going.
Speaker 6 (01:13:17):
There is no basis And that's the only one of
the reasons I brought it up because y'all have forgot
about it. But you know, when they the last time
they were in it was COVID and so they couldn't
really celebrate they that.
Speaker 3 (01:13:27):
You know, it was just a weird time.
Speaker 6 (01:13:28):
If you think about do y'all remember how crazy it
was when they would play the empty stands?
Speaker 3 (01:13:34):
It say insane? It was well a lot of things
that a lot of things that we did during the
pandemic were strange, and I mean, I'd go as far
as to use the good Southern phrase acid nine. It
just it lacked science, it lacked logic, and one of
(01:13:57):
them was that and they would somebody got tested positive,
then they had to trace everybody they'd ever walked away.
Come on, who you who they were with? Who that?
Well that it was quite a quite a deal. Well
it was. It's kind of crazy.
Speaker 6 (01:14:10):
They they actually got to, you know, celebrate in the
locker room, something they haven't done in a long time.
In twenty twenty, we just talked about they couldn't because
of COVID, and I think the time before that they
didn't celebrate because they were hoping they would move on
and they were going to save the celebration. So this
was the first time in a really long time. And
I know, you know, you got Cubs fans nationwide. I
(01:14:32):
mean this the Cubbies, they're they're followed all over the place.
So that was big news.
Speaker 3 (01:14:37):
They're like the Yankees and the Yeah, but only liked,
you know it by some people off sports. Over to
a story that we've been following the men Indez brothers.
You know, the more we hear about the old men
Indevs brothers, there was an attempt to get some sympathy
out there, and it worked to a degree. But the
more we kind of looked into these two, they weren't
(01:14:58):
quite behaving as as well as yeah in prison in
prison as they had been made out to be. And
so once again the bid for new trial rejected.
Speaker 8 (01:15:10):
And so the.
Speaker 3 (01:15:15):
Apparently there's a California judge has denied the men Indez
brothers a bid for a new trial, marking yet another
setback for the two convicted of the nineteen eighty nine
shotgun murders of their parents. As we know, and so
and one of the actual men Indez brothers took to
(01:15:37):
social media, Oh can they do that? I guess so,
and talking about the decision being disappointed or whatever. But
so the request for a can they they can't get
this social media game what they're talking about. They have
somebody working it for them.
Speaker 7 (01:15:55):
Saw that they started their post Hello Twitter world.
Speaker 3 (01:16:00):
That was oj was the other conviction. And so actually
I understand that that the trace Daddy has has has
waited on the trail. Lie them up, lie them up.
Speaker 5 (01:16:14):
So uh.
Speaker 3 (01:16:15):
Anyway, so the attorneys insisted that new evidence not only
shows that Jose Menandez was very much a violet and
brutal man uh and all this, but the judge sided
with the prosecution and said the new evidence would most
likely not have resulted in a different outcome. Yeah, and
(01:16:36):
and he said, what what I'm dealing here with is
you guys trying to do some some mental gymnastics here
and and and I mean that's what the Menindez brothers
are saying about the judge or whoever's with them. The
judge is just saying, look all this stuff. You're talking
about everything that I've looked at. And this is a
(01:16:56):
California judge, so it's not like, uh, I don't see
anything in here that would have New Troupe would have
meant you guys would not been convicted of this. You
know it's there. There are other solutions than this if
all this was really going on. So so anyway, Menindez brothers,
no New Troup. But right, you remember we first started,
(01:17:18):
everybody was portraying that, you know, really they've learned their lesson.
I mean, since they've been in jail, they've been model prisoners.
And then we started finding out not not really. Uh so,
uh So, anyway, so one of them selling something, yeah,
something by the cell phone and then something else. Yeah,
so so there you go, and they did. Somebody said, Mason,
(01:17:39):
do have access to social media? What that doesn't?
Speaker 13 (01:17:43):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (01:17:43):
They I mean they got it all, y'all. It's like
a cushy hotel in there. It's crazy, okay, crazy.
Speaker 17 (01:17:50):
Somebody mentioned the other day, why why do we give
them weights? Why why do we let them work out? Yeah,
here you go, buddy, Yeah, get huge, right, do your thing.
Speaker 3 (01:18:01):
And you know what, you can't say, I just don't
have time to work out. Yeah, you can't say they'll
get it in.
Speaker 5 (01:18:09):
You.
Speaker 3 (01:18:09):
You're just lazy.
Speaker 7 (01:18:10):
Yeah, that's just where.
Speaker 4 (01:18:13):
If you're fat in prison, you're just lazy. Right, you're
absolutely late.
Speaker 3 (01:18:17):
For those prisoners that are listening, that's Adler. Okay. For
the person who's working on a new match today, that's
do not email me, sir, don't don't post anything about
me on your Facebook page from prison apparently, right, right,
So that's the wonderbody Adler. That that's the one. Yeah,
(01:18:40):
Chris Eagle, coach, coach, have you had another practice, coach?
Speaker 7 (01:18:45):
Yeah, I had a game and practice in a game
on Tuesday?
Speaker 3 (01:18:49):
Oh you did, I did?
Speaker 10 (01:18:50):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:18:51):
Yeah, Well they'll have a game, whether ready or not. Yeah,
how did it go? Butt's sign up? Okay, let's play.
Speaker 4 (01:18:57):
So yeah, no, that's really there's a tent where there
are more people signed up this past past week to
sign up, and there's the field right there.
Speaker 7 (01:19:06):
Kids, let's go.
Speaker 3 (01:19:07):
So it's it's a pickup game every week.
Speaker 15 (01:19:09):
It is.
Speaker 7 (01:19:10):
Okay, we just split up the kids.
Speaker 3 (01:19:12):
That's good. And Terry was she was very entertained by
you trying to be hip as a coach. It was
its dudes. Yeah, bro, job bro.
Speaker 4 (01:19:24):
There was a little bit of controversy.
Speaker 3 (01:19:25):
Let's stop. We'll come back. Good coaching update with agreement
with the kids. Well, we'll come back. Coach Adler coaches
soccer is for his five year old daughter's team.
Speaker 7 (01:19:36):
Yeah there's some four year old is there too?
Speaker 8 (01:19:39):
Okay?
Speaker 7 (01:19:39):
So four year old through fourth grade?
Speaker 3 (01:19:42):
Oh god, four year olds and organized sports just feels
like it up heel climbing. There's some people that are
doing it in three yeah, three years old under the world.
We'll come back. Coach Adler update when the show continues.
Drive up to this.
Speaker 1 (01:20:00):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. You better listen up.
Speaker 5 (01:20:17):
You know what we say.
Speaker 3 (01:20:20):
Loss, I'm gonna tell you you gotta find those.
Speaker 1 (01:20:27):
Yeah, broadcasting from the world, The Rick Burchers Show.
Speaker 3 (01:20:33):
The Mind of America.
Speaker 5 (01:20:34):
Let's go.
Speaker 3 (01:20:36):
Brand new hour. We thank you for being with us.
The gang all here, speedy, Greg and as we're discussing
right now, Coach Andler on here and ready to go
for another hour. Unscreen phone calls, we'll come your way
this hour, we'll continue to break down the stories of
the day within the show.
Speaker 8 (01:20:56):
And around the world.
Speaker 3 (01:20:57):
So thank you for being with us. All right, So,
as we started the hour, we were getting an update
from coach Adler. You know, Coach Adler is now coaching
his daughter Ruby in soccer. It looks like and they
kind of you've inherited the four and five year olds,
(01:21:19):
ad Is that correct?
Speaker 4 (01:21:21):
Yeah, Well, we split the league into we we initially
had two I guess you would say, I guess four
teams with like like the old kids play the old
kids in one and then the young kids play the
young kids.
Speaker 7 (01:21:35):
In the other.
Speaker 3 (01:21:36):
Right, and you got one of the young kids teams.
Speaker 4 (01:21:38):
Yes, and it goes But you'all saw that video that
I played. It was it was like it was like
a herd of zebras versus a herd of you know,
donkeys or something.
Speaker 3 (01:21:50):
It was crazy.
Speaker 7 (01:21:52):
It's crazy. It was crazy.
Speaker 4 (01:21:54):
It was stampede city. The children were falling as often
as children were kicking. The ball was kickfall, kickfall kick.
Speaker 3 (01:22:02):
Have you noticed that they fall on purpose? They dig fall,
dig falling, slide.
Speaker 4 (01:22:12):
Slide for no reason. Who doesn't love sliding into home plate.
That's your chance you better do.
Speaker 3 (01:22:17):
Of course it's soccer. Yeah, and there's still yees.
Speaker 4 (01:22:22):
So there was there's a little bit of controversy.
Speaker 3 (01:22:29):
So there was your last segment. Perceived by the it
was good.
Speaker 7 (01:22:33):
Everybody was was was good with it, which is good,
you know.
Speaker 4 (01:22:36):
And I explained to them, you know, I'm glad everybody
was good with me talking about it because I've ruined
relationships before.
Speaker 3 (01:22:43):
In the past.
Speaker 4 (01:22:45):
You go for the laugh, you guys, go for the laugh.
Speaker 7 (01:22:47):
Somebody, you know, says something.
Speaker 4 (01:22:49):
And I've ruined many, many relationships in my in my
life in the past, and so it was good that
nobody was mad. Everybody at my church, Hope Community Church,
everybody is good.
Speaker 3 (01:23:00):
Right, which is by the way, I have actually done
the show about Little League and had to be and
had to go to meetings straight up, straight up for
a fact they're like, wow, you're and I'm like, I
got I thought it was funny, Joe.
Speaker 4 (01:23:12):
So the controversy, it's I am coaching my daughter. I
actually asked Ruby. I'm like, hey, do you wanna do
you want to go on that team or you want
to you want to be on my team?
Speaker 15 (01:23:24):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (01:23:24):
You did choose interesting? Do you want to be on
my team? She said, I don't want to be.
Speaker 4 (01:23:28):
On your Well I just you know, I was gonna
let her do her thing and she said she want
to be online. I'm like, okay, And but it wasn't
so we were We're just every every practice, we're just
splitting them all right. If you're over on this line,
go this way, if you're only because we're not. We're
not trying to keep the teams intact. There's no real
point in doing that every week.
Speaker 7 (01:23:49):
It's just whatever.
Speaker 4 (01:23:50):
You get a new combination every week, exactly, exactly, yeah, yeah,
So this week, but I did have Ruby on.
Speaker 3 (01:23:56):
My team and she wanted to be on your team.
Speaker 7 (01:23:59):
And she wanted to my team, which is great.
Speaker 12 (01:24:01):
We are.
Speaker 4 (01:24:04):
We're playing and you're the Eagles, right and well, this
time around, the one of the kids remembered that he
was an Eagle last week, so he started calling his
team the Eagles. So the other team is actually the
Eagles this time, and we had to come up with
a name. And I'm like, all right, the other team
was hot Dog last week. I know, but one of
the kids that was on my Eagle team now he's
(01:24:25):
on the other team hit and so then now they're
the Eagles. And so now I'm like, all right, we
got to come up with something, kids, what do y'all
want to do? And Ruby says team Chance?
Speaker 3 (01:24:36):
Team what?
Speaker 7 (01:24:37):
That's what I said?
Speaker 4 (01:24:39):
Team Chance?
Speaker 3 (01:24:40):
And and I was like what does that mean?
Speaker 4 (01:24:44):
They're like, yeah chance. I'm like, I'm not saying chance.
That's a fake word, right, Okay, that doesn't make any sense.
Speaker 3 (01:24:51):
And I'm afraid that maybe something I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:24:54):
That's something I don't know about.
Speaker 7 (01:24:55):
Yeah, So I was like, what about team Chomp? And
they're like yeah, and I I was like yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:25:03):
So I was just we're chomping. So now now I'm coaching.
Did it concern you that if you call your chef
chump right now that you will not meet everyone's expectation
of your team?
Speaker 4 (01:25:13):
Well, yes, that's always a concern.
Speaker 3 (01:25:15):
Here's an idea, why don't you whatever the coach is,
he keeps the mascot. So whoever they play for, that's
what you are.
Speaker 4 (01:25:21):
That's a good idea, Greg, you come on Tuesday, we'll
be there.
Speaker 3 (01:25:25):
They were not like that.
Speaker 4 (01:25:29):
So I'm like, I convince him to do chump. And
this was an I'm kind of a savant at this
coaching thing, natural born to do it, bond lead, born
to do it straight up though my my mom's dad
was a pe coach, their entirely where it runs in
(01:25:50):
my blood.
Speaker 7 (01:25:51):
And so I figured out.
Speaker 4 (01:25:52):
I was like, all right, you got to have a
give them a motion so that you know that they're
even listening, you know how. It's like, listen to my voice.
If you can hear me, clap once that whole thing.
Speaker 5 (01:25:59):
I go.
Speaker 4 (01:26:00):
If you're an eagle, flap your wings, and so all
the kids are doing there, flapping other wings.
Speaker 7 (01:26:04):
I'm like, all right, if.
Speaker 4 (01:26:05):
You're flapping your wings, which direction are you going? What
goal are you kicking on? And then point that way.
I'm like, all right, I've got them, all right, team chomps.
Show me your chomps, Show me your chumps. And they're chomping.
They're doing an alligator chump, and it really helped unify
the teams in their minds. I'm like, Okay, you're an eagle,
you know what you are. You're a chumper. You know
what you are, you know what direction you're going. And
(01:26:26):
I thought I was pretty smart and all that.
Speaker 3 (01:26:28):
Yes, so that was good.
Speaker 7 (01:26:32):
We start the game. Ruby's on my team, the preacher's.
Speaker 4 (01:26:35):
Daughter is on the other team, and we're team chomping.
Speaker 7 (01:26:39):
Now they're TV and I We're running up to score
a little bit. It's three to one.
Speaker 3 (01:26:48):
You're not keeping scores just but it's three to one.
Speaker 4 (01:26:51):
And you know, you know how when the ball goes
out of bounds in this league, it goes out of
bounds all the time. And so rather than trying to
do the whole thing that you're supposed to do where
they stand on the sideline and you have to throw
it back in, we as coaches just throw a new
ball in the middle of the soccer pitch. Here, I
say soccer field. It's a soccer field.
Speaker 3 (01:27:12):
It's okay.
Speaker 7 (01:27:12):
They throw it out in there.
Speaker 4 (01:27:13):
And you say new ball, new ball, and then they
say it new ball, new ball, And so the kids
go after the new ball, and that keeps the game
going instead of getting it bogged down in the corners
and out of bounds.
Speaker 3 (01:27:24):
And seems to be going finething, seems to be going fine.
Speaker 7 (01:27:28):
Your team is so as the the coach.
Speaker 4 (01:27:32):
I throw in the new ball if it goes out
on my sideline, and my throw was probably not a
fair throw.
Speaker 5 (01:27:44):
Kind of kind of.
Speaker 7 (01:27:46):
And we're already up, guys, we're.
Speaker 3 (01:27:48):
Already against the pastor's daughter's so.
Speaker 7 (01:27:52):
Here uh here it is, and I'm going to keep
it small.
Speaker 4 (01:27:55):
I'm going to keep it small because I'm not showing
anybody's other kids, you know whatever.
Speaker 7 (01:27:59):
But y'all can see it, and you're gonna hear it
go down. And I throw the ball in and I
called it.
Speaker 4 (01:28:04):
I said that was a bad throw on my part
because the kids to do because Ruby's team immediately scores.
Speaker 7 (01:28:10):
Immediately, you gotta play play play.
Speaker 3 (01:28:13):
Oh wow, okay, all.
Speaker 7 (01:28:19):
Right, so there's one of the new ball.
Speaker 3 (01:28:22):
A fast break. All right, okay, everybody's falling. Not throw
you rode a fast break. I called it.
Speaker 4 (01:28:38):
I called it so you could hear the parents complaining.
The pastor goes, the pastor goes, what.
Speaker 7 (01:28:43):
Do you got money on this game? And I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (01:28:47):
It was a bad Did you take the point off?
Speaker 7 (01:28:52):
I didn't take the didn't take the point.
Speaker 2 (01:28:56):
So it ended up being.
Speaker 7 (01:28:58):
Being four to one. Guy, Chops, new ball.
Speaker 3 (01:29:03):
Chop right here, Chops, look at me. Can I tell
you what? It was a beautiful fast break. It was
a beautiful break because you're the coach.
Speaker 7 (01:29:13):
Yeah, that was my bad.
Speaker 4 (01:29:14):
The girl at the very beginning, she kept coming up
to be going, they're not letting me kick it. I'm like, yeah,
that's how it works a game of soccer.
Speaker 3 (01:29:22):
You said, sit down, this is a life lesson. Yeah,
that wasn't the past.
Speaker 5 (01:29:26):
You don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:29:26):
The game wasn't the pastors. It wasn't the past.
Speaker 7 (01:29:29):
She's a go getter. She she's she's she's got great.
Speaker 5 (01:29:32):
But who won?
Speaker 3 (01:29:33):
That would be charm Now I think you're twoing up?
Are you twoing up?
Speaker 7 (01:29:36):
I'm two and oh guys, I'm undefeated, going to do it.
I'm undefeated as a socialist soccer coach.
Speaker 3 (01:29:42):
So it's a coach, have you announced it? That matter
who your players are, you just win.
Speaker 7 (01:29:47):
I just win winners win.
Speaker 4 (01:29:48):
I'm like Charlie Sheen, Oh wait no, I'm not like
they're not gonna let let me let me around kids,
especially with the van and that throwing and stop talking.
Speaker 1 (01:29:57):

Speaker 19 (01:32:34):
I had a question I of football.
Speaker 20 (01:32:36):
Y'all guys were football?
Speaker 19 (01:32:37):
Well, what got y'all into football?
Speaker 3 (01:32:39):
Well, you know, I don't know. We were just dron
to it when we were kids. Yeah, everybody played it
in the neighborhood and our dad did it for a living.
Our dad did it for a living. He never pressured
us to be in it, but you know, we were
around it all the time. We were in the game
every Friday there, every Yeah. So it's the greatest sport
ever created. And so it it's I mean there's some
team I'm to ruin it, but it requires it's the
(01:33:03):
ultimate team sport. Uh it's uh. It tests your willingness
to continue under duress, which is good. Uh, it's it's
it's it's a great game. But we were just always
around it and we loved it and no different. Yeah,
so so it was. It was definitely part of our
culture growing up. Speedy hated it. He played soccer. Yes, no,
(01:33:25):
I did see people. I guess I smoke while I
did that too, I remember. No, that was that was
that's when you were playing Badminton. Rick Burgess show on
screen phone calls, go.
Speaker 10 (01:33:34):
Ahead, how do you fish ovate property?
Speaker 3 (01:33:42):
So good? Rick Burgess Show on screen phone calls go ahead,
clunk ck Larry, Larry hadn't heard from Larry in a while.
Speaker 21 (01:33:53):
Harry, he has carried a Kardon handy go neighbor's house
to get some tea.
Speaker 8 (01:34:00):
Okay, you mean, well.
Speaker 21 (01:34:03):
After I left the neighbor's house, I was confronted by
three other neighbors.
Speaker 10 (01:34:11):
And they told me that I called in too many times.
Speaker 21 (01:34:15):
They were asking me all kind of questions about our
trip there and really being obnoxious.
Speaker 3 (01:34:24):
Who, Larry, what were you mean? I mean, some of
your own neighbors in your own town? The jealous? Yes, well,
I thought that they asked you about the trip. Then
how could they be upset?
Speaker 5 (01:34:38):
Then that?
Speaker 3 (01:34:40):
It sounds like they were interested whatever.
Speaker 10 (01:34:43):
They wanted to know the price of the hotel.
Speaker 21 (01:34:46):
They wanted to know how much gas lea spent, they
wanted to know while they were on the show and everything.
Speaker 7 (01:34:55):
And that doesn't sound like they're.
Speaker 5 (01:34:57):
Mad at you.
Speaker 3 (01:34:59):
I don't know why they care what you pay for
a hotel. When did you realize they didn't that they
were being mean.
Speaker 10 (01:35:06):
And great guarantee interview three of them.
Speaker 3 (01:35:12):
They so they cornered you.
Speaker 5 (01:35:14):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:35:15):
Wow, Well what was your response? What did you say
back to them?
Speaker 21 (01:35:19):
I would get to ask it, answering their questions and
then just roped off.
Speaker 3 (01:35:25):
You could whip a man. Yeah, you know what you
could say, Larry, lock them up? Yeah, did you have
your favorite shoes on? What did you have your favorite
shoes on that Carolyn didn't like?
Speaker 4 (01:35:37):
Yeah, so Larry.
Speaker 3 (01:35:40):
Would have asked them. You just said, well, didn't I
tell you? And then when they said no, you go,
I guess I ain't known your business man, Larry. Leave
them on that. Yeah, here's the thing I would disagree
with the three that were I mean, I don't think
you have called the show maybe once in two weeks, yeah,
maybe once in ten days.
Speaker 9 (01:35:58):
So I mean said, how about I wipt that? But
how about you have to get a pat through your
nose when you've died? Now, stn't be in the cult
of fact, I'll get a pats.
Speaker 3 (01:36:10):
Yeah, that would have done it? What about that? Larry?
Speaker 22 (01:36:14):
Good?
Speaker 23 (01:36:18):
Know what you say?
Speaker 4 (01:36:20):
I said, that's good, Good.
Speaker 3 (01:36:22):
Morning, Larry. I've tried to tell you, Larry, it's it's jealousy.
They're jealous that you've become an icon on the show
and that comes with it. And I've tried, I've tried
to discuss this with you. When you decide to go
in onto the public platform, you're gonna you're gonna have
people who really really like you, and you've seen a
(01:36:45):
lot of those, and you're gonna have some people who don't.
That's that's just part of it. And you know when
you and here's the way that we are doing it.
When we see the number of people that respond to
your videos, when we see the number of people who
watched when you were on the show with us and
with Speedy, when we see the number of people responding
(01:37:07):
to pictures with you that we put out, it is
overwhelmingly love. So there there are many more people that
love you on the show than don't. And don't worry
about frequency. I can help you with that. But you
have confidence and confidence in knowing that we think you're
an asset to the show, and and so does most
(01:37:31):
of the audience. But with none of us achieve one
hundred percent that we've all we all get negative. And
that's just part of it. Now now, I'm probably not
gonna sit there and handle negative. You know, three people
circling around me. But I mean, look, I'd love to
ask and that's good stuff. Rick, I'd love to ask, Larry,
did you just did you tell them you were going
(01:37:51):
before the trip and they were asking about it? Or
they do they actually listen or watch the show and
knew about it.
Speaker 21 (01:37:57):
They listened to the show, was watching it, and then
after they after we get back, then they cann this.
Speaker 3 (01:38:06):
Oh okay, so they might be watching or listening now yeah. Yeah,
And and Larry also they might.
Speaker 15 (01:38:13):
And that.
Speaker 3 (01:38:15):
Doesn't mean you know that that that doesn't mean that
sometimes people are just joking around to or curious.
Speaker 4 (01:38:21):
They're just curious, or you owe them money, Larry, you
know something like that.
Speaker 7 (01:38:26):
Do you owe them money?
Speaker 3 (01:38:26):
Was just a shakedown, Larry.
Speaker 10 (01:38:30):
And we don't owe anybody any money here.
Speaker 9 (01:38:34):
I just was wondering maybe they wanted to say, you
better give it those pass.
Speaker 10 (01:38:39):
I think they gets Gamius.
Speaker 4 (01:38:42):
We love you're jealous because they can't have caring.
Speaker 3 (01:38:46):
So my woman, you're you're loved by the audience. Layer
no doubt.
Speaker 1 (01:38:50):
This is the Rick Bridger's show.
Speaker 3 (01:38:54):
We know, are we gonna bond? Okay? Okay? And as
speed he's got to go help. So so yeah, it
just started going out of nowhere. They're so added. Looks
like a shoot and me, buddy, huh, hey, how you doing?
Speaker 16 (01:39:06):
Hey?
Speaker 3 (01:39:07):
All right, So let's get to the you know, air
Force one Spirit Airlines thing. I started seeing this yesterday
and apparently Spirit Airlines flight NK thirteen hundred got a
little close to Air Force one and was scolded by
(01:39:27):
air traffic control. Is that correct?
Speaker 4 (01:39:29):
Yes, it got too close to Air Force one. I
think that's on the top of the list of things
you're not supposed to do as a pilot.
Speaker 3 (01:39:35):
That's right. So we have the audio of air traffic
control talking to them, right, okay, So here it is. Well,
this is what you don't hear every day.
Speaker 24 (01:39:44):
A Spirit Airlines flight heading for Boston got a bit
too close to Air Force one over New York on Tuesday.
Speaker 2 (01:39:52):
Listen to this.
Speaker 15 (01:39:53):
Pay attention to Spirit thirteen twenty degrees right, turn right now,
Spirit s hundred and twenty degrees right.
Speaker 3 (01:40:01):
Now, turn Spirit, Come on, Spirit.
Speaker 15 (01:40:04):
Spir wing thirteen hundred, turn twenty degrees right immediately.
Speaker 4 (01:40:09):
Twenty degrees right.
Speaker 15 (01:40:10):
Okay, sorry, sorry, lay attention fifteen hundred. Trapics off your
left wing by six miles or eight miles seven forty seven.
I'm sure you can see who it is that's flightable
three two zero, maintain three three zero. I'll keep an
eye on for me. White and Blue. Pay attention, get
off the iPad.
Speaker 3 (01:40:27):
Ooh, pay attention, get off the iPad.
Speaker 4 (01:40:32):
I'm sure you can see who it is. It's the
president air Force.
Speaker 7 (01:40:37):
One, Numero uno.
Speaker 3 (01:40:40):
And what are you doing up there?
Speaker 1 (01:40:42):
Spirit?
Speaker 3 (01:40:43):
Now, look, when you decide to go cheap and go
Spirit Airlines, it's a wild rod. Okay, it's a wild rod. Yeah,
this is not helping. Feels a little loose and uh
but yeah, that's get off your iPad. Wow.
Speaker 7 (01:41:00):
Spirit Airlines did put out a statement.
Speaker 3 (01:41:01):
If you want to hear that, I would love to
hear it. Oh that's crazyous.
Speaker 24 (01:41:07):
Spirit spokes versus says Spirit Airlines Flight thirteen hundred followed
procedures at air traffic control instructions while en route to
Boston and landed out of ventfully at Boston. Safety is
always our top priority, the spokesperson said, So there.
Speaker 4 (01:41:21):
We go, so so so that it took them several
times on the radio. I understand that they followed protocol
and all that, but when Air Force one is in
the area, you do want to be on your p's
and q's, so to speak or whatever. And I mean
we heard the audio that air traffic Control had to
reach out to them three times before they even responded.
Speaker 3 (01:41:43):
And let's go, let's focus. Adler. I hate to do
this to you. But you're in the spotlight again.
Speaker 7 (01:41:51):
Okay, but we ain't turning back big fos.
Speaker 3 (01:41:55):
Somebody's giving you a hey thanks.
Speaker 7 (01:41:57):
The Rick Burgess show was rocking the crowd.
Speaker 3 (01:42:00):
So this is from email. I won't say who it
is because I think he's already in a bit of trouble.
He said it called him off guard and it is
on you. Okay, are you ready? H Hey, birge my name,
he tells his name. I live in Chilton County, that's
(01:42:20):
the home of Gary. I met you guys a couple
of times, been a fan for a long time. All
that is to say is I get the humor of
the show, and I love it. I'm digging the new show. Recently,
I was driving back, had my five year old with
me when Adler mistaken Lee and will underline that or
(01:42:42):
put quotes around it, played the word that starts with
a Q. Do you remember this.
Speaker 23 (01:42:50):
Now?
Speaker 4 (01:42:50):
I played the word that starts with a Q, played
the word the Q and l G B t Q
oh oh, oh, oh yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:42:59):
The robot was saying the Q and okay, yeah yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:43:04):
As I begin to laugh. As I begin to laugh,
my daughter was looking from the back seat. So you
did make that dad laugh? Okay, With a puzzled look
on her face, she says, daddy, and then she said
the Q word. What does that mean? Yeah, as I
felt my face turning red and all the oxygen was
(01:43:25):
sucked out of the car, I panicked, yeah, and started
trying to explain in a weird way what that word means.
It confused her so bad. She somehow landed on my
brother and she said, so, you mean like uncle so
and so is.
Speaker 7 (01:43:45):
That's funny.
Speaker 3 (01:43:46):
Unfortunately I agreed with her because I just wanted to
stop the conversation. Yeah, right, ro right. Yes. By the way,
he's married and has five children.
Speaker 7 (01:43:57):
Yes, sorry, uncle, I.
Speaker 3 (01:44:00):
Now I'm gonna have to walk that back a little
bit by having another conversation with my daughter. I'd appreciate
if y'all would pray for me. I may be it
may be my children's biggest hurdle so far in life.
Speaker 7 (01:44:13):
Yeah, that's sometimes I forget that it's more than just us.
Speaker 4 (01:44:17):
You know, we get so we're just buddies and we're
having fun in here, and I'm trying to make y'all laugh.
That's really the whole point of all this, And you
forget that there are other people.
Speaker 3 (01:44:26):
Well, here's a good news radio, here's the good news.
You made the grown man laugh. Good you, But you
led to an inquisitive conversation from a five year old. Yeah,
do you please don't miss what happened, because there's hilarity
in this. When he tried to use what the word
originally meant before it was you know, commandeered into the
(01:44:46):
community of LGBTQ and then of course rejected, now now embraced. Yeah,
he tried to say odd, which was the original meaning
to what she replied, Oh, like uncle, so and so
this man's brother. Yes, sorry, So now the five year
old thinks that her uncle, this guy's brother is Q. Yeah, right, okay,
(01:45:10):
and he's married with five children, and he panicked and
he just agreed. Yes, that's exactly what I'm talking about.
So you see the handle, he's in there, the right
thing to do. He handle it? Well, So do you
immediately go to the brother and say, let me tell
you what just happened, uh, and prepare him for it
because he's created quite a little well, you have created
(01:45:34):
quite a little handle inside this family. I know you
were in a handle. Did you follow did you catch
any of that? Speedy. Okay, So can I go to
commercial break? Yes?
Speaker 6 (01:45:43):
You can, Okay, We're good, okay, But no, I missed
all that. We had it down and there to talk
to to the engineer and.
Speaker 3 (01:45:50):
Y'all had to go do that. So it's fine. Sorry,
and no it went well, it's fine. Well, okay, trust me,
the audience is fine. You just didn't get to enjoy
it because y'all were in there in the handle air
traffic controller. No, we did that first, okay, and then
then I went to this air traffic Controler went fine,
oh you is that a hay birds? Okay? Do you
remember when Adler played the Q word for us loud
(01:46:11):
and clear?
Speaker 5 (01:46:12):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (01:46:12):
Did a well? Guy was laughing and forgot. His five
year old was in the back seat, who began to
ask him what that word means. Oh, and when he
tried to explain it in the original context, she said, oh,
like my uncle, oh, which is his brother, And he panicked.
He said and said, yeah, exactly like that. He says, So,
now my five year old is going to tell my
brother her uncle has five kids and a wife, that
(01:46:35):
I told her that he was cute.
Speaker 6 (01:46:36):
Oh, yes, sorry by that, and Adler that's something not bad,
So I went, couldn't have been any more clear?
Speaker 3 (01:46:43):
Yes, right, I mean you were like straight up though
instead of I am group. It was like the dad
did laugh. So Adler said, I did that and I
forget so the dad laughed. So mission accomplished. Just a
little shrapnel there, Yeah, a little damage. Honestly, he's the
uncle or she just no, he's the dad, but he's
the uncle. No, he's got five kids, five kids in
(01:47:04):
a while. Straight up though he's an awkward family gathering ex.
Speaker 4 (01:47:07):
He is in that age when that's almost every day
when you're really having to Like Ruby asked me the
other day, like our our bad guys real and we
had to have that conversation.
Speaker 7 (01:47:18):
He was like, yeah, that's because you know you'll see
him in a show or something like that.
Speaker 4 (01:47:23):
Well, yes, but luckily the world is mostly really really
really really good people, so you don't have to worry
about anything.
Speaker 3 (01:47:31):
Have to sell that right now, but I agree, you don't.
Speaker 4 (01:47:32):
Have to worry about anything. Maybe you're safe and all that.
You know, So this conversation has come up all the time.
Speaker 7 (01:47:37):
So he did the right thing.
Speaker 3 (01:47:38):
Put it on any just said yeah, you're right right,
put it put it on the uncle.
Speaker 6 (01:47:42):
I think his first mistake was uncontroubly laughing, because that
is the natural response.
Speaker 7 (01:47:47):
That was my bad.
Speaker 3 (01:47:48):
Yeah it though, aren't we looking for laughs?
Speaker 5 (01:47:51):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:47:52):
By the way, somebody from text Nation a great one
daddy who is slayer? Okay, well, sorry about I don't listen, right,
I know, but the so that does happen a lot.
I have people tell me all the time. Listing with
the kids is a different experience Friday. But big conversation
coming up with his brother Bran. Sorry about hey, let
(01:48:13):
me let me walk that out for you. Buy everyone,
so we'll we'll be back. More of the show coming up.
Speaker 5 (01:48:22):
Right after this.
Speaker 1 (01:48:24):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 7 (01:48:30):
Will you come to the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 4 (01:48:37):
The Voice of reason for another reason?
Speaker 7 (01:48:46):
Lighting up for insis.
Speaker 10 (01:48:48):
Here we go?
Speaker 3 (01:48:49):
Allright, here we go America, brand new hours starting now.
Thank you for being with us all across America and
around the world. And whether you've got this live or archive,
we're glad that you're here on all those options at
Rick Burgessshow dot com. Uh and you never have to
miss a minute of the show, grab it on your
own time or catch it. Why it's all happening live.
(01:49:12):
We got unscreen phone calls coming this hour. Uh maybe
a dip into Haybird Jay Bird, but we got other
stories to cover. Speedy, Greg and Adler are all here,
and you know Speedy loves this thing. Well, I just
he plays audio.
Speaker 6 (01:49:26):
I like where it takes this I mean something your
guests or kind of funny, right. I just love the
discussion of where it takes more than anything. Okay, So
so you got audio that we have to guess what
it is, right, I just see what's going on. You
if you pay attention, you kind of get it, but
you might not know why. Okay, take a listen to
this audio.
Speaker 3 (01:49:46):
The Crown Trap Supreme. It was a lovely, meaty, cheesy experience.
Speaker 25 (01:49:51):
I'm going to try it with some of the fire sauce.
This might be dangerous for an irishman to attempt. It
was is actually my very first tackle of all time.
I've never consumed one before. I saw if I got
the technique wrong. My apollo Jason, I'm a huge fan of. Oh,
the Bereza and the Natrols are probably my favorite.
Speaker 3 (01:50:07):
I thought everything was nice, very fresh. I didn't even
know Taco Bell did chicken. It was everything ever imagined.
So the Irishman Irish have a taco bell now and
I am given think about this, Ireland's first taco bell.
Every first one officially opened.
Speaker 7 (01:50:27):
I love taco Bell.
Speaker 6 (01:50:29):
This part of an investment by Apple Green, who I
guess is involved with all of that. It opens its
stores Tuesday of this week in a brand new area
and first time ever in Ireland. So that was an
Irish influencer who says he was the first person at
(01:50:49):
that location and in Ireland to try taco bell. So
that was the first time he ever experienced taco bell
at all. Love taco bell, which made me think it
wasn't because they did have one. But I think I
remember back to where you were a coach and you
were picking up kids or something, Rick, and and those
kids have never had McDonald's before you got you got
(01:51:15):
tacos and doggos here.
Speaker 3 (01:51:17):
Okay, and I don't like it? And uh and their
their first experience, Like wow, mister Rick, I love you. Yeah,
Well it was horrible time ever I did. I didn't
know you got the taco beout here. I had to
stand in line behind Rosie o'donald. Uh.
Speaker 4 (01:51:32):
But the.
Speaker 3 (01:51:34):
It Yeah, and I can't imagine the Irish. They don't know,
so it'll be decades before somebody will tell them that,
you know, the meat arrives in the plastic bag.
Speaker 20 (01:51:45):
You know.
Speaker 3 (01:51:46):
And and they were that they started meeting the bag.
Speaker 7 (01:51:54):
That's a little tough. But don't just don't pay attention to.
Speaker 3 (01:51:56):
This stated, why is it tostotle? I'm makeing now, but
anyway some reason. Yeah, but do y'all ever remember the
first time I'm talking about I'm talking about food tacolth
are you ever experienced.
Speaker 4 (01:52:09):
I've eaten a lot of taco bell and not remembered it.
Speaker 3 (01:52:12):
All right, Yeah, look at you meet me down I'll
forget you're a coach.
Speaker 7 (01:52:17):
Sorry, that is old.
Speaker 3 (01:52:20):
I know what you're saying. I would have some l
downy tipub. Won't we the U a taco?
Speaker 26 (01:52:26):
It's Mexican, the hard taco that's made out of like
a door. Uh you're talking about a dorito chip. You're
talking about it made out of dorito.
Speaker 3 (01:52:37):
Yeah, that's good, real good.
Speaker 4 (01:52:39):
You got to eat it right there though, Just eat it.
Just pull over and if you're getting a doctor to
get something, he's done.
Speaker 3 (01:52:45):
Yes, well, And I feel good for the Irish today,
but Speedy talked about it's been a long long time ago. Golly,
this is a funny story. I'm driving home from a practice.
I got to give a kid a ride home. Okay,
he's in the back coach, you little fellow. Okay, they're
they're probably, I don't want to say, they're maybe in
the fifth grade. Okay, now you know this is before
(01:53:08):
i'd adopted doing a little better. Okay, sure, So we
hit the drive through. I start asking everybody what they want,
you know, my kids and this little fellow who's riding
with us, and it gets to him and he's like stumped.
He doesn't know what to say. And I'm like, what
what do you like here?
Speaker 5 (01:53:25):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (01:53:27):
And the and the my boys are like what did
yeah do we do? And he's like, what did y'all get?
And they did number two or whatever?
Speaker 2 (01:53:33):
I can't remember.
Speaker 3 (01:53:34):
Okay, I'll take that, mister Burgess. Okay, m probably should
have been a clue. And the kid didn't know what
to order. Probably should have been a clue. So we, uh,
we get our bag and but they start tearing into it.
Let me tell you something, I watched his little selfiat
Taco bell. He lit up like a little tiny fifth
grade like, yeah, I mean he was having the time
(01:53:59):
of his life and uh, and his mama was gonna
come pick him up at the house and they just
he just I watched him, I said. I told Sherry,
I said, I don't think I've ever seen a kid
enjoy a meal as much as I just saw that
little kid. I said, you know, maybe maybe he just
this must be his favorite. He's hungry. Yeah, I took
him to the right restaurant. Yeah, you know, this must
(01:54:20):
be what he likes. So all of a sudden, his
mom pulls up in the driveway and I see the
kid begins to move the bags like trying to hide them.
And I said, it's kind of weird. Oh maybe maybe
I've run their dinner. Yeah, got to eat again. We've
all done that. Mom comes up. Mom comes up, and
(01:54:41):
you know, because they mixed the water, they mixed the
water or whatever that meat is so he can be
a little juicy. And he's he's got that orange water
all over him and and his mama, God, I've had
it on his mama said, what have you been eating?
And I said that took him to get some taco
bell what And I was like, huh, what every kid
(01:55:05):
eats taco bell? What's wrong with you? I don't allow
my children to eat that, eat taco We don't eat
fast food. And she starts giving me all this health
stuff and all this, and she's got She goes, We've
worked so hard to be sure he never our kids
never ate it like a taco bell. We weren't going
to feed him that garbage like that. And I was like,
that'sk him what he thinks of it. I gotta tell you,
(01:55:26):
I gotta tell you loved it. And I think he disagree.
Here right, don't ask for right home then? And so
so no, no, no, it's not over. It's not over.
So I think, well, I've I've weathered this storm. I
get a bit of a you know, Sherry. I said, sheer,
your head's up. Your mom should talk about these things. Yeah,
you know, and she goes, I didn't know. I really didn't.
(01:55:48):
And so I see the dad several weeks later. He goes, hey,
appreciate the taco bell thing. And I said, man, that's
on me. I'm sorry. I didn't known that. You didn't
give me a heads up. He goes, Oh, it's not over.
He goes, I wish you'd have been at my house
when you know his birthday is next week. And I said, no,
(01:56:09):
I didn't know that. That's great, wish you'd have been
at my house. When Mom asked him what he want
to do for his birthday, and he said, go to
Taco Bell. He couldn't stop thinking about his birthday at
Taco Bell. That's all I want. I don't want no present, nothing,
so uh no good deed goes in. But no, you
(01:56:30):
know what, though that little fellow loved me for the
rest of it, saw you. He's thinking about me somewhere
right now. How fast did he eat? I've never seen it.
Speaker 5 (01:56:37):
I mean, he ate that.
Speaker 3 (01:56:38):
You would have thought that. I found him like after
he'd been abandoned in the woods for days, and it
was like the first thing we gave him hit. He
hit that Taco Bell. He hit it wide open, right.
I know that he was having the time of his life.
We could find him right now. What if he's something
like large dude, he goes back.
Speaker 8 (01:56:55):
To you went for him.
Speaker 3 (01:56:57):
He's in terrible hell. Yeah, rings fall, they got him,
got him addicted, and he tells the story when he
gives it, well, and I'll started taco bell. As we
speak right now, he's giving himself one of those shots. Yeah,
on those in Anything's About You, he gives a shot.
He calls it the Rick shot. Yeah, the only show
(01:57:18):
two ten teams. Well, uh, they're fired up in Ireland.
Speaker 5 (01:57:23):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:57:23):
There were people that started getting in line and that
Tuesday morning just so they could get some taco. That's
a good taco. They'll never be the same. It's not
that taco bells to you never had one, Greg first
ever taco bus. You made a Chaco bell be upon
your face, Alida wins.
Speaker 1 (01:57:47):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the man who was
bold enough to point out that there is no such
thing as dog years. Dogs just don't live as long
(01:58:11):
as humans.

you that have said Taco Bell brought the location to
Ireland solely because Rosie o'donald moved there, that's a good one.
They knew that salado. That's good stuff right there. Good shill, Yeah,
you'll be great, Okay, that type of a bell to you.
Speaker 5 (01:59:43):
So now.
Speaker 3 (01:59:45):
This continues this thing, and I'm telling you there's some
of this equity stuff that's at the bottom of all this.
People believe that whatever is available, no matter what the
rules are. They should have it, no matter how hard
somebody worked for it, no matter what they did to
to to have it, accomplish it. Uh, it's not fair
(02:00:06):
that they don't have it either. And or maybe this
guy is just look, look I've done it. I haven't
done it, but I've desired it. I just wouldn't do it.
I've been at the airport before and I see Delta
Sky Club and I kind of wish I could go
in there, can I tell you? Sometimes I look at
these clubs they have for their special people, these different airlines.
(02:00:29):
I've looked there many times, and honestly it looks as
chaotic as the is out here and there for you know,
there's sometimes they can be a little overcrowded in there.
But anyway, really but the bottom line when it comes
to more, and this one's about Delta Sky Club, here's
the bottom line. It is a regulated perk. Okay, it's
not a right. You have to prove concarn it that
(02:00:53):
you have earned the perk.
Speaker 10 (02:00:55):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (02:00:55):
And if you haven't and someone asked you to leave,
you need to leave. You got busted. You tried to
go in there, You tried to take a shot. Yeah,
take a shot at the backwards right, whatever. But once
the the jig is up, you gotta go. Once you
know what you do, you got me. I'm so here
is this a video and audio just from Ador for you?
(02:01:16):
You want this ad? It's just b roll right, Yeah, yeah,
I do have the audio. I can I can play
that way. This is kind of condensed to the fight.
But yeah, we can roll with it here.
Speaker 27 (02:01:28):
Disgusting out of the airport completely think. So there's my
supervisor right there, so yes.
Speaker 3 (02:01:43):
You can speaking supervisors. No, I am speaking for.
Speaker 27 (02:01:47):
Myself in case you won in my supervisor because I'm
telling you with my authority that you're about two seconds.
Speaker 10 (02:01:53):
From leaving the airport. Because why because.
Speaker 27 (02:01:57):
I'm telling you you need to leave now, and you're
you're not going to because because you don't have because
you don't have the proper identification to get into the
club in the first place.
Speaker 10 (02:02:08):
You have to have that card.
Speaker 4 (02:02:09):
If you don't have that card, what where.
Speaker 27 (02:02:14):
It's in their requirement that you have.
Speaker 3 (02:02:21):
Do you think he's drunk? He said, maybe, just slightly.
Uh so, what here's what we say.
Speaker 6 (02:02:27):
He was asked a number of times by employees there
of that club or the lounge to show proper membership
to have access.
Speaker 3 (02:02:36):
It was very nicely.
Speaker 6 (02:02:37):
Continue they continued to ask and continue to ask, and
then finally authorities were called in. And then when they
approached him, this was the reaction. He was sitting there defiant,
going I don't have to leave.
Speaker 3 (02:02:49):
I can be in here. Back to what you were saying,
this is this new thing. You know how many I've
seen so many body cam videos or videos people are
doing on their phone. We're lawing for is coming in
the look, they're clearly in the wrong. They've clearly broke
whatever law or rule, and they start all this, You
don't have the right to ask for my ID. You
(02:03:11):
don't have the right to do this. Where is it
in your manual? If you go into a place that
is a perk and you don't have the proper paperwork
to say I've earned this perk and the airline or
whatever wants you to leave and you won't leave, and
then the police show up. You've caused this? What what
(02:03:31):
concept you've got that wants to being unreasonable to you?
That matter of fact? Oh yeah, Dode was get it
and leave the first time they said it. That's it.
And you'd never be in a situation that said. But
now you're getting cuffed, and the police don't have in
their manual what private companies you know, and their security
you have the right to do if you're violating their rules.
Speaker 6 (02:03:53):
And he thinks he's sharpen as a little round glasses
and smarter than their body, right, you know he's his
stuff is now getting pulled. So if you have a
connection and you're working on a flight, see now all
that's affected, you're not going to get on it, carry
all that.
Speaker 3 (02:04:06):
Stuff breaking out with you. I know there's different levels.
Now this one, this one was not crowded, but honestly,
this particular one, it's not that much nicer than just
sitting down there. You're you're you have said right there,
you're cuffed and gonna get stuffed, and you really were not.
If you pull it off, you haven't done a lot
(02:04:28):
like you were in some taj mahon. The airport is
not even crowded. No, what are you doing?
Speaker 4 (02:04:35):
I cannot stand airports and how they set it up
so that you've got nowhere to lay down when they
strange it air overnight, goly I hate that.
Speaker 3 (02:04:41):
And look now you they got to use a wheelchair
because you can't walk.
Speaker 7 (02:04:44):
Yeah he's large, he's large.
Speaker 6 (02:04:46):
Yeah, come on, yeah, he's large. They need a little
extension on those handcuffs. They having to put two together
just to get his arms behind him.
Speaker 3 (02:04:53):
But this is this attitude now that when authority shows up,
you're gonna thrill everybody by by how you think you
know what rights you have and don't have. If you
know that you're in the wrong, and you know what
what you've done when they show up, be cooperative.
Speaker 4 (02:05:09):
They're pushing them on a cart.
Speaker 13 (02:05:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (02:05:12):
Yeah, this is the version of a sporting event, Like
when when Jacon and I went to see the Dallas Stars,
we took a wrong turn one time and got into
a hall area that had like sweet access and you
know we obviously you mean s W E E T
access and uh and and we were told by one
(02:05:32):
of the ushers, hey, can I see your ticket whatever?
Speaker 3 (02:05:35):
And we're like, oh, I'm sorry. We it was either
try this, it's easy to do. Go back over here.
Speaker 6 (02:05:39):
We're trying to get to one of their merchandise shops
that were up on that floor, but we didn't go.
Speaker 3 (02:05:44):
No, we deserve to be here. What are you going
to do. Do you try to walk in back?
Speaker 6 (02:05:49):
I should have, but I wasn't attempting to sneak in.
It was an honest mistake. It's the same thing.
Speaker 3 (02:05:54):
I mean, just be cordial and you just move on
by the way. By the way text Nation, which the
supposed to be a tuber. I just tuned in wise
Coop being arrested. If he'd had black high thoughts. You got, Coop,
that's so so very good. That's inside. If you don't know,
it's very very funny. That's good stuff.
Speaker 6 (02:06:18):
But Rick, once they got you, Hey, guys, come on out.
They got once they got you, go, well, we got
an hour in here, you know, at least we got
an hour.
Speaker 15 (02:06:26):
You know.
Speaker 3 (02:06:26):
You know what you say, Hey, I tried to sneak
in here. Y'all called me on like speeding and j
C did.
Speaker 7 (02:06:31):
Yeah, this patch collection, Larry, check it out.
Speaker 3 (02:06:36):
Why he's going to go the airport and resist? Look
at that man, Look at that now he's still trying
to plead his case. Don't you know. He's a thrill
at every family gathered. Oh you know it, when we
come back, we go unscreen phone calls. Yep, that's panging.
(02:06:58):

I love hearing you guys talk with the Irish accent.
I sell real estate in North Alabama, and years ago
I had these customers come in and they were the Merrymans,
and so I go and I show them the first house,
and by the end of the house, I'm picking up
(02:10:05):
their accent. You know, I'm trying to talk a little
bit Irish. And so I get back in the truck
and I think, what are you doing, you idiot. You're
going to insult these people and you're never gonna sell
them a house. And so we go to the next
house and by the time by the time we get out,
and I'm like, look at these bonny good cabints here
in the kitchen, and how about this back yard under
the back and they look at those folks is I'm like,
(02:10:28):
let's let's go out for lunch with get some of
my lugging stew and I get home and I tell
my wife and she's like, you idiot, you ain't gonna
sell them people a house, and sure enough they faded.
We like the morning do and that was the end
of that story.

a well that's over three decades. Oh, you know, it's
over half our lives. So so thank you for that.
We continue. Uh, let's go to unscreened phone calls. Hello,

Speaker 4 (02:11:46):

Speaker 8 (02:11:49):
Hey Wendy, I was in a studio a couple of
weeks ago.
Speaker 3 (02:11:52):
Yes, ma'am.
Speaker 23 (02:11:53):
I wanted to say that Greg is.
Speaker 18 (02:11:56):
Talking about oreos like he talked about George strait.
Speaker 19 (02:12:02):
If it's the only thing in the room, he'll take it.
Speaker 18 (02:12:05):
But I want to tell you he talked about the
oreos and girls Scout cookies.
Speaker 8 (02:12:10):
Uh Oreo has a then oreo that is.
Speaker 18 (02:12:15):
Like girl Scout.
Speaker 23 (02:12:17):
Cookie they used to have. So I really enjoy that one.
Speaker 3 (02:12:21):
And George Straight, Yeah, George Straight. Hey, listen that then oreo.
I ain't a bad I ain't a bad cookie. That's
good kid, yeap. So we'll like it or not like
it or not. We continue. Welcome to the Rick Burgers Show, Milano.
Unscreen phone calls go ahead.
Speaker 23 (02:12:36):
Oh hey, Rick, It's Bruce from Nashville. I just want
you guys to know this show has impact and influence
with teenage girls.
Speaker 3 (02:12:45):
Didn't see, Yeah, did not.
Speaker 23 (02:12:49):
So I was listening to my eighties funk playlist yesterday
with my fifteen year old daughter. Shout out to heide,
she is aware of your hot rocking DJ credibility, okay,
And when she heard the song early in the morning
by the gap ban. She said, huh, I'd like to
see if hot rocking DJ Rick could walk this song.
(02:13:12):
And I said, well, I said, the challenge there is.
You got about fifty seconds to work with. And she said,
I understand if you're scared. If he's scared of it, Oh.
Speaker 3 (02:13:21):
Okay, challenge you throw down DJ.
Speaker 23 (02:13:23):
You said it, She said, I understand he's scared of it,
and if you handle it, tell him to do jungle
love by the time, you got about twenty seconds. So wow,
I just wanted to She gave you a bail out.
So I just want to see what you got.
Speaker 3 (02:13:35):
All right, jungle love or early in the morning, either one.
I think that's kind of what I heard.
Speaker 8 (02:13:40):
You said.
Speaker 3 (02:13:41):
The longer you got to kill more time. Yeah, it's
young love. It'll take me some time to search it,
I can see. So I'll finish this and when we
come back, I'll do it. Okay, that way, I'll have
time to search a bit. So you're scared now, I'm
not scared. As a matter of fact, what you're saying,
go hit your teenage daughter, get her ready to go.
When we come, we're gonna hont rock and DJ and
(02:14:01):
you know what, we may just start walking songs left
and right, big handle for Adlerber. We'll do it, Rick
Burgers show unscreen phone calls.
Speaker 19 (02:14:09):
Go ahead, guys. I just wanted to send a p
s A to you guys. Something y'all do not want
to try. They are now putting peanut butter in ooreos.
Speaker 23 (02:14:21):
It is awful.
Speaker 19 (02:14:22):
Yeah, there are certain things that don't go together oreos
with teanut butter.
Speaker 8 (02:14:27):
Big no news.
Speaker 19 (02:14:28):
I'm just trying to help you, guys.
Speaker 23 (02:14:30):
Don't do it.
Speaker 19 (02:14:31):
You'll thank me for it later.
Speaker 7 (02:14:32):
I disagree.
Speaker 3 (02:14:33):
I think peanut butter goes good, but what's wrong with
an oreo?
Speaker 12 (02:14:39):
Leave it?
Speaker 3 (02:14:39):
It's cookie perfection. Trying to figure out how that would take.
And I'll say this, Greg and you were part of this, Okay.
Went by to see mom, mister. I might have mentioned it.
You might have uh recee cups with caramel and they
just taste like rece cups. She's like, if you tried
one of these, I'm like, I don't. Should you? Should you?
(02:14:59):
Tample saw that commercial about the volcano had something about
it didn't work. Even though I love I love car
I love chocolate, I love peanut butter, something about it
didn't work, and I think this is what the caller
is saying about the Oreo. You may hear that and think,
oh that might be nice, but something about it just
in the di didn't work.
Speaker 7 (02:15:19):
Yeah you think that would.
Speaker 3 (02:15:20):
It's nothing. I couldn't tell the difference. We continue, Rick
Birders show phone calls go ahead.
Speaker 18 (02:15:28):
Yeah, man, the man. I just want to let all
you guys appreciate the show with the big old thumbs
up and all.
Speaker 1 (02:15:40):
That's really good.
Speaker 20 (02:15:41):
You know what.
Speaker 3 (02:15:41):
We continue, Rick Birders show unscreen phone calls, go like it.
Speaker 8 (02:15:46):
Good morning, gentlemen, got request from me. Can y'all dispat
you have it of Louisville, Kentucky because we had a
woman stabbed in a waffle house and only heat can
save it?
Speaker 7 (02:15:53):
Oh restaurant?
Speaker 3 (02:15:56):
Who does that in a family restaurant?
Speaker 5 (02:15:59):
On the wall?
Speaker 3 (02:16:00):
All Star breakfast?
Speaker 15 (02:16:01):
Can I?
Speaker 5 (02:16:02):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (02:16:03):
Rick Birders showing phone calls go ahead.
Speaker 8 (02:16:07):
Hey, Rick guys, Hey, I don't like to have the
a lot of odd flavors with Oreos, but the blueberry
cobbler that I got was fantastic.
Speaker 3 (02:16:18):
Oreo blueberry cobbler. Come on now, Mark, come on.
Speaker 8 (02:16:21):
I'm serious.
Speaker 3 (02:16:22):
Come on.
Speaker 8 (02:16:23):
I thought I couldn't believe it either A.
Speaker 3 (02:16:25):
I think so.
Speaker 8 (02:16:27):
I ordered it from Walmart, had it delivered?
Speaker 5 (02:16:30):
You really wanted?
Speaker 8 (02:16:31):
Hey?
Speaker 3 (02:16:31):
Can I give you? You know you have sometimes in
life there's a wake up call. I just ordered Oreos
to my house. That's blueberry pine Oreos. Now, I will
say I like the when they had the vanilla outside
in the white inside. That's pretty good. I'll go back
and forth. That's really being a finger You never have
(02:16:52):
the v a fingers. Yeah, they're good. That's a good one.
That's good talking about Okay, well you just said that
something about it, say nervous, But then you break it
down your mind. There's really nothing there to be afraid.
I liked them.
Speaker 7 (02:17:06):
I had Nutter butters yesterday.
Speaker 3 (02:17:07):
I forgot cook not a fan, by the way, what
not a fan of butter? Really? I mean, it's just
kind of strange. Where are you on it?
Speaker 8 (02:17:21):
Is it?
Speaker 3 (02:17:21):
I don't know how to say it?
Speaker 15 (02:17:22):
With what you like?
Speaker 3 (02:17:23):
And then some reason you got I don't know what
it is? Where I go to your standard convenience store
and it's a it's called a Is it is it?
It's that sweet cookie with peanut butter in it. You
get it in the package like you do peanut butter
crackers and kot? Is that right? I may be wrong?
Speaker 7 (02:17:40):
N e kot?
Speaker 3 (02:17:41):
Okay, Yeah, so what is it?
Speaker 15 (02:17:43):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (02:17:44):
Yeah you know this?
Speaker 7 (02:17:45):
Yeah yeah, yeah, here you go.
Speaker 3 (02:17:46):
Yeah you know that? Yeah yeah yeah, you know what
I missed. I missed the chick o stick. I kid,
I loved them. I thought that. I thought the I mean,
Rabben Biser was tearing it up. I thought the chicko
stick was like a joke. That was something that was
like they were daring. Look at that chick stick. Oh
(02:18:09):
you don't like nothing.
Speaker 7 (02:18:11):
Huh, how's something wrong with I don't hate butter butter?
Speaker 3 (02:18:14):
Excuse me? So you don't know what they're calling?
Speaker 8 (02:18:16):
I like him.
Speaker 1 (02:18:18):
This is the Rick Burchers Show, still denying any involvement
(02:18:45):
in the food fights of nineteen seventy nine. Rick Bushes,
all right.
Speaker 3 (02:18:51):
We're back. Thank you for being with us today, America.
The gang is all here. We've had a blast. Did
you missed some of the show. That's fine, I catch it.
Catch it. I mean you don't need to, but I
mean if you do, then catch it on the archive
every day you can do. Yeah, checking on the archive
out there on the podcast channel. Are on our YouTube
channel and you can catch it on your own time.
(02:19:11):
Yesterday's Wednesday Bible study. By the way, that archive is there,
all right, So Bruce from Nashville, right, I think from that,
Bruce said that the show and you know this has
happened where you know, you have your kids, and if
you listen to the show, this show can be used
to introduce your kids to two wonderful things. Now, sometimes,
(02:19:34):
like Adler's email, things that are not so wonderful. And
Adler has already said to the audience, my bad. Okay,
so we try every now and then Greg has to
come back to the audience and say, you know, maybe
some of the sometimes, but Bruce says, you know, I've
introduced to the show my daughter to a by gone
(02:19:54):
day of radio, back when the hot rocking jocks were
walking them songs and we were you know, we were
we were, I mean, we were your friend, and you
know we're a pilot of the airways. Baby, here's my request,
here's my request. And so he said, and now I
took it as a bit of a challenge, yeah, from
his daughter that because early in the morning by the
(02:20:17):
Gap band has such a long intro that DJ Rick
cannot possibly walk it. Okay, no way, no way. But
but see that the thing that is a miscalculation there, Speedy,
you're with me on this Adler, you're with me on
this Greg you were sitting over there, probably you know,
just out of range of the microphone, coming to visit me. Yeah. Uh,
(02:20:39):
and we're probably getting ready for the evening, you know,
and so unbeknownst to radio management. But anyway, the rix
kind of finished this shift. Let's go up there. But
but anyway, you you, you, you faced these things and
you had to know what to do. You had to
know what to do with the cold intro, You had
to know what to do with the short intro, and
(02:21:01):
you had to know what to do with the long
one because you couldn't just leave it, you know, even
even even the voice guy couldn't cover it. Yeah, you
had to. So you used the long intros to kind
of update the audience. You could actually connect with them
even more because you had time. You're not being rushed, right,
so you have to kind of take a few things
(02:21:21):
and include it. Okay, So I'll I've got early in
the morning. Qudo you know, challenge begins. I know that
there was something thrown out there about jungle love. But
I think that could lead to a conversation with your
daughter you don't want to have, you know what I mean. So,
so I'm gonna I'm gonna go with this one, okay,
cause I felt like he was. This was the chat
that was the first one. Yeah, so so a w
(02:21:45):

(02:22:55):
get up early in the morning. Here's a gap down
on RBS. That's how you do it.
Speaker 5 (02:23:05):
You just work in.
Speaker 3 (02:23:07):
You got some stuff to work in. You hit the weather,
you let you let you let them know where where
Speedy is gonna be on location. Uh you know you
talk about that. You know it's gonna be a good
night for Yeah. Yeah, that's how you work it. Yeah,
you know that's that's sometimes a line sometimes great great
(02:23:29):
car lot.
Speaker 1 (02:23:31):
Right there.
Speaker 15 (02:23:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:23:32):
Man, see now I just find say I want to
walk a bunch of songs. But that's it. That's what
I mean. We didn't do that. You know, it's been
the wheels they watch Miss great George Strait solid for
don't you don't you miss Yeah? He used to fill
the groove. I actually, you know, people have often wondered
if I dabbled, And I know now we're on every
kind of format out there, and you know, I was
(02:23:54):
not a huge country music person. Greg and I grew
up and you know we're rock you know. Yeah, with
a little bit of pot mixed in. Country was something
that I started, you know, listening to much later in life,
but I did, and which was wild. And I didn't
know anything about the music at all. So when I
was a hot rock in DJ for a brief I
(02:24:15):
mean I'm talking about brief run, I was put on
a country station very brief, extremely brief, and I didn't
know any music. I didn't know any of it. I
certainly you know, they didn't walk songs and things like that.
And so you remember the story, I think, and I thought, well,
(02:24:37):
this is my moment. I'm leaving AM radio and I'm
headed to the FMS, headed there, headed over and they
put me on the late shift, and I would just say,
but this is before Jesus, and I was not really
I wasn't really designed for the late shift, because that
means that I had too much time on my hand
before I got to work. Yeah, okay. And I had
(02:25:00):
been running with that one right over there and Kate's
and everybody, and I reported maybe maybe too soon from
from where we had been another hour and one right,
I'd spent, I spent, I'd spent a little two time
on Mount ge Ha. Yeah, Okay, he looked at you
(02:25:20):
watch my crap come off the mountain. This is absolutely true, sadly, sadly,
so the person on before me was aware. Okay, so
I see the hotline blinking. You know, they had a
light to let you know it was that's management calling.
She enters the phone and it's talking to the PD
(02:25:44):
that hired me, and I start saying, hey, be cool,
be cool. I'm giving to be cool sign okay, and
she goes, yes, he's here, and I'm like, be cool,
come on now, and then I hear what you don't
want to hear. Do you need me to pick up
anything on the way home? Honey? To her husband, who
(02:26:06):
was the program director, M why she wouldn't cod like that?
She didn't give it to herself. I was the one
show wonder. I never I was removed. I was removed
from those duties. So then you just went and found
us well guys coming back up, well, back out to
(02:26:29):
the mountain.
Speaker 15 (02:26:30):
So, uh no, it was.
Speaker 5 (02:26:33):
Not good.
Speaker 3 (02:26:34):
It's so good, Rick, Honey, I'm not gumming. How about
when that hotline range it was never really good? You
knowbody say Rick, DJ's like you kept us from recording
things on cassette. I know that was by design, by
the way, the record companies. That's right, all right, thanks guys,
Uh Bruce, thanks for the challenge, buddy, uh Tom. In
(02:26:55):
the hour, we'll be right back.
Speaker 1 (02:26:59):
This is a Rick Burchers show. You better listen up.
Speaker 10 (02:27:08):
You know what we say.
Speaker 3 (02:27:11):
We'll simnn you gotta find.
Speaker 1 (02:27:19):
Broadcasting from the real world, The Rick Burchers Show.
Speaker 3 (02:27:24):
How about It America. Thanks for being with us today.
Excited to spend a little more time together. Speedy, Greg
and Adler all here as we'll work through the stories
this week. This hour, we've hit a bunch. If you
missed any of that case to archives either on our
podcast channel Beach or you're following that click notifications same
(02:27:47):
thing on our YouTube channel, you can catch it on
your own time. So we start this hour talking little music.
Now not some of you think Speedy is not here.
He's here.
Speaker 5 (02:28:03):
I mean I was.
Speaker 3 (02:28:05):
I think about led Zeppelin a lot. In factbody, I
was all air earlier and Ricky kind of came into
it a little bit and I was like, you know,
there's a lot of bands that's kind of ripped led Zeppelin. Yeah,
I was like, you know what, Greg, in your opinion
are some of the you know, like the best and
most bizarre led Zeppelin rip off songs. You know, are
(02:28:28):
you reading? And we were we are you reading? Are
you wearing?
Speaker 7 (02:28:32):
Your readers are.
Speaker 3 (02:28:35):
Yeah, we can see that the sposed to be your thoughts.
And I mean we all know because this is what
we do music, guys.
Speaker 6 (02:28:41):
We talk about different things, and we all know that
led Zeppelin has been accused of ripping off some you know,
blues artists in time to kind of craft there that's
true timeless songs. And somebody's like, well, you paid it
forward because now we're ripping you off.
Speaker 3 (02:28:58):
And I kind of came up with eleven of.
Speaker 6 (02:29:04):
Yeah, ten well eleven uh, And I just wanted to
see what you guys thought maybe if you could just
you know, like blurt some out or maybe some of
the songs twins that I was thinking about are shameless
led Zeppelin well rip boffs, while other ones they just channeled.
Speaker 3 (02:29:20):
The spirit and the sound of the band. And this
is just you yeah, yeah, this is just me a little.
Speaker 6 (02:29:27):
This is some thoughts you had, right, But for decades
rock artists have been trying to match led Zeppelin's you know,
earth shaking.
Speaker 3 (02:29:35):
Blues rock storm you know.
Speaker 5 (02:29:38):
All the time.
Speaker 6 (02:29:39):
So uh, and some have gotten really close, while others
they just channeled them and it just happened speedy. So
you sound like you've been called on to reading class.
Huh yeah, what are you talking about? And so anyway,
we could just kind of start at eleven.
Speaker 3 (02:29:55):
Is this your list? Well, yeah, I've just been thinking
about it.
Speaker 6 (02:29:57):
I mean, I could give you some samples of a
few and get your reaction, or you could just kind
of throw some at me and see if it matches.
Speaker 3 (02:30:05):
What would you like to do?
Speaker 6 (02:30:06):
Guys, Well, on my list, I know there's some that
some that have to be Yeah, yeah, I mean I could,
I could. This is just I kind of put a
montage of some songs. This isn't everybody, Okay, there's others
on here, but this is a kind of a list
of a few.
Speaker 5 (02:30:21):
What you think.
Speaker 3 (02:30:23):
I disagree with that one? Yeah, well, these are like
I said, these are just these are just from that.
I mean, what about this next one right here? I
put together? You put it together right here. I know
you'll might not know that that's bottom wait for you,
(02:30:45):
which is the sign of the drummer, that's the son
of the drama. This is Greta. This is GREATA yeah,
I was laying Fleet there, you're asking me, it's great
Van flet exact? Know what about Zebra? I don't know
a lot about Zebra, but when I'm here behind the door,
(02:31:07):
you are now this one here. I had not heard
a lot about them. But Kingdom come right here. Oh yeah,
oh yeah, we used to cover the song. That's a
rip off big time.
Speaker 17 (02:31:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (02:31:18):
Yeah, I'm not going to hear that.
Speaker 3 (02:31:21):
Yeah, yeah, for sure. I just put those together. My
two things would be Grena, Van Fleet Kingdom come. Those
are the two, no doubt credit.
Speaker 4 (02:31:28):
Van Fleet is a led Zeppelin cover band of tribute Crazy.
Speaker 8 (02:31:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:31:32):
The first time I heard them, I was talking about
I was talking music with Greg one day and I
was like, you brought it up. I just like led Zeppelin.
I didn't agree with Billy Squire Lonely is the Night?
Well only parts when the drums come in, has that
you know he kind of plays behind he kind of
plays behind the bead a little where are we on
still of the night? By watching it, I like that song.
Speaker 4 (02:31:50):
You know, it's kind I don't think it's a Zeppelin said, that's.
Speaker 3 (02:31:53):
My That's on my list that's on my list from yeah, yeah,
but no I don't because White Snake had also has
so many different sounding sounds. Yeah, you can't put them
in there.
Speaker 7 (02:32:04):
And also the led Zeppelin sound was popular at the time.
Speaker 4 (02:32:08):
What makes Greta van Fleet so bad is that we've
had all this time to listen to led Zeppelin and
we know what led Zeppelin sounds like, and then they
come out and they sound like led Zeppelin. Yeah, it's
just it's different than jumping on a popular sound at
the time to in my mind at least.
Speaker 6 (02:32:24):
Well, you know, I was sitting here looking at this
here you go. Well, I'm just saying, like Billy Squire,
you brought up Lonely as the Night. I mean, do
you realize that the album the second one hit triple
platinum and a lot of folks are contributing it to
Lonely Is the Night, which they have is number one?
I said me loudwire dot com. Is this list they
have that is the number one ripoff?
Speaker 5 (02:32:46):
No?
Speaker 3 (02:32:47):
I disagree with that. Yeah, I mean there's parts in it,
but Kingdom Come Kingdom Come, Yeah, definitely. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (02:32:54):
Number two is White Snake, Yeah, the one three Kingdom
Come uh four, Audio Slave don't know that one No, no, no,
I don't get mad.
Speaker 4 (02:33:06):
Audio Slave is Chris Cornell and Rage Against the Machine.
So you got the band Rage Against Machine with Chris
Cornell singing, Yeah, one good album.
Speaker 3 (02:33:14):
Pretty knew that, Yeah, I knew that. He knew that.
Speaker 6 (02:33:17):
I also was bringing up with Greg nineteen seventy seven
Heart Barracuda.
Speaker 3 (02:33:21):
They say it is that's not no, that's no a
good song. Isn't that song? All the way?
Speaker 7 (02:33:28):
That's a heart song?
Speaker 3 (02:33:29):
Montrose rock Candy Rock Candy and singing by the way
that Sammy Hagar singing You knew that? Oh yeah, yeah,
that's what the first thing I thought when I heard it.
I was like, Hey, that's Sammy. Yeah, I call him
that kind of like golfers. I'll call by the first
name Rush working Man.
Speaker 4 (02:33:46):
You agree with that Rush sounds like Rush rights work.
Speaker 6 (02:33:50):
This one we played in the break because I just
thought about it. Legendary child Errolsmith Perosmith nineteen or twenty twelve, actually.
Speaker 7 (02:34:00):
To him, talking to him, talking listen to him, say Aerosmith.
Speaker 3 (02:34:03):
Aerosmith, you know what you can do. Zebra We talked
about who's behind the door, about Zebra Bottom. We talked
about that his dad was in the band.
Speaker 6 (02:34:18):
Yeah, and then Greta van Fleet absolutely that now I
agree with those, just some things I was thinking about.
That's just a little list you ran through, and then
this is another thing here. I didn't know, but ed Shearon.
Do you know he was offered to to to be
the first gig in space, but he turned it down,
(02:34:39):
saying it was too dangerous.
Speaker 3 (02:34:40):
I don't blame him, stuck up there for people.
Speaker 6 (02:34:45):
Dot Com has the story and he has revealed in
an interview why he turned down the offer to be
the first gig in space. And he said, I just
it's just too dangerous. I can't I can't figure it out.
Bb C Radio was interviewing him, Who's the next thing?
And uh, they said he they offered for him to
go to space a while ago, and he said, it
(02:35:06):
just terrifies me. I do want to go to space.
That'd be kind of cool, just the thought, but.
Speaker 3 (02:35:11):
I don't want to go to space.
Speaker 4 (02:35:12):
He's not an astronaut like Katy Perry, right.
Speaker 3 (02:35:15):
Right, anybody have a I don't have a desire to
go to space.
Speaker 4 (02:35:18):
I do the Katy Perry kind of like, I'm sorry,
I do the Katy pierry thing. Just go up in
the pod and come back down. If it's the Earth,
it's the Earth, claiming I'm an astronaut. That sounds like
a great time to.
Speaker 6 (02:35:28):
Me, he said, I'd like to go to it said,
I'd like to go to places on Earth that I
haven't been, like I hadn't been to Greenland, he said.
But I don't want to be a guinea pig for
the first in space. Let's let's let let's let somebody
else do that.
Speaker 4 (02:35:42):
Y'all remember that astronaut did the whole music video in
space like the legitimate astronaut. I forget which one is.
Speaker 7 (02:35:48):
The mustache guy he did is a life on my
drown controller major toime.
Speaker 3 (02:35:57):
I brought that up to Greg earlier, but he didn't
agree with it.
Speaker 7 (02:36:00):
That's feenous.
Speaker 3 (02:36:00):
I'm above my heads man. All right, Well, we'll be
right back staying stay with us.
Speaker 1 (02:36:05):

Speaker 4 (02:39:10):

in our backyard and we're now making Ezra say the
play how. He's like, can I go to the pay house?
I'm like, they'll play what the play what? He goes
hang out, which is my wife and I favorite thing
(02:39:32):
to do.
Speaker 3 (02:39:33):
Now that, by the way, y'all have y'all set up
this next email seven? All right, so hey bird, hey Burge,
I know business is your thing and you're looking for
(02:39:56):
different revenue streams. Correct, Yes, that's that's the world we
live in. Now you better have multiple Okay. I think
Greg should have a short podcast or live stream after
the show where all of his minions could hear his
wit wisdom without the cloud of that pesky FCC hanging
(02:40:17):
around things. He could discuss stories. You guys won't let
him tell jokes that we all want to hear that
he can't tell them. He goes, you know what, Right now,
it feels like you've got Earnhardt in a super room.
That's great and walk songs. He said, put him on
the track and let it eat. Turn Greg loose, let
(02:40:39):
him run started off with this next song is taking
me plenty of places. So Greg, how about how about
a Greg podcast? I love it, not a little and
you just unleash. Do we want that?
Speaker 7 (02:40:52):
I mean, you don't have to be on Rumble, not
on YouTube.
Speaker 3 (02:40:55):
That's true. That's true by the young man rumble not
not a bad idea, not a bad idea at A.
Speaker 5 (02:41:01):
Don't like that.
Speaker 3 (02:41:03):
I'm from what if it was called release? What if
it was called release the Cracking?
Speaker 7 (02:41:08):
It's gone for alright right now, release the cracking from
your readers.
Speaker 5 (02:41:13):
So there you go.
Speaker 3 (02:41:14):
All right, so here just picture it right now. Okay, okay,
let's see he can't walk ASLONGA do that. I can't
do a oh yeah, it's not my skill set.
Speaker 6 (02:41:24):
You could do the calming liquidators kind of deal. Like, hey,
you can listen if you don't want to tell you
measure this.
Speaker 3 (02:41:30):
You just turned on. You're like, hey, let me go,
I'm going to the Rick Burgess Show podcast channel. Oh
there's Greg's got a podcast, Release the.
Speaker 1 (02:41:38):

Speaker 3 (02:41:45):
Hey guys, it's Greg and and then you and there
you're running. Hey, hey guys, this is Greg's going to
be the great podcast. Okay, we're gonna start out with
dumb Ass of the Week. I'll see I'm I'm a
little nervous. This is not really I'm never number one.
My first gass is nervous. Cleats. Here's Montros. Hey, mama,
(02:42:09):
I'm coming take you the Gros store. Hang on, who
would shopping you today?
Speaker 7 (02:42:14):
It would be a lot of eighties band trivia?
Speaker 3 (02:42:18):
Oh yeah, today I talked to you about the crap run.
I'm gonna do a lot broadcast from my wife wise thing.
It's gonna be the last minute. Mind get a little
bly ubbed, and we're gonna go. We're gonna fly.
Speaker 9 (02:42:36):
Mick, wait a minut I'm gonna take a phone call
Greg Burgess Podcast.
Speaker 3 (02:42:45):
We continue, I'm doing it. We're doing it. Hey bird,
Hey Birge, I love the show. Thank you. Been listening,
uh for a while. One four years and then of
course I joined the new show on ninety seven point
nine the bus out of Meridian. By the way, I'm
(02:43:07):
fifteen years old. Okay, I have a question, and it
says that it's not what you would probably expect. Oh no,
I never wanted to have a regular job. He's only
fIF No, it's a sheep it's a sheep. I never
wanted to have a rade either till fifteen. Listen, this
(02:43:28):
will be on your podcast. All I want to do
is get married and raise a family. Okay, I feel
like that. My friends think I'm weird. Everyone else says
they want to be a journalist, a ved a nurse,
a teacher, a marine biologist, whatever, But that's my goal.
Do you have any advice for me. I'm the oldest
girl in my family and have an older brother and
(02:43:50):
two little sisters, which I hang out with the lot.
Since I'm homeschooled. It's a bit scary to grow up
in a world as crazy is the one we're now
in and know that you've got to or or what
you have to do to actually find a good Christian
man to one day. Mary, thanks so much. I don't
(02:44:11):
want to be a bip. But if you read this
on the air, and she says, do it later in
the show, because, like I said, I'm homeschooled, which we're doing,
so I listen while I do my schoolwork in the morning.
So I'm not going to say her name she just said,
but it is so You've got a young lady.
Speaker 14 (02:44:28):
This is nothing.
Speaker 3 (02:44:28):
What does this say about our culture. So you have
a young lady that thinks that she everybody's making her
feel weird because her desire is to marry a good
Christian man and raise a family. First of all, let
me tell you it feels like she's said. Yeah, first
of all, that's not odd. No, it's not. And I
(02:44:49):
do believe that it's it's up to the woman whether
she wants to be a career woman or a family woman,
or try to do both. But there is nothing odd
at all about saying I am going to try to
marry a good man, have a good family, and I'm
going to be at home raising my children in the faith.
(02:45:12):
I wish we had more people that that was their goal. So,
first of all, it is a great goal. It is
sorely needed. And I would say, remember, you pretty much
catch the type of fish and where you're fishing. So
if you're looking for a good Christian man, I would
get I would. I'm sure you're probably involved in the
(02:45:35):
local church, but I would you know, go out and
do things and socialize with people in the church and
then kind of bet them out to see which ones
are solid, and you probably can find a good godly
man if you hold to the standard.
Speaker 1 (02:45:48):
Because the Rick Burgess show Strange and Cullers, the new
podcast from Rick Burgess, get it no wherever you get podcasts.
Speaker 3 (02:46:08):
So we do have that to coming up. Another episode
coming out this weekend. We'll record that today, so catch
that wherever you get podcasts. If you haven't caught the
new podcast Straining Counters about Spiritual warfare, go get it

that and be sure notifications are engaged so you always
(02:46:28):
get an update. Hey, couple of things. I do want
to let you in on Speedy and Greg coming up
on October the fourth, will be at the Venissa's Foundation
Crap Run twenty twenty five. If you would like to
register to be part of that running and to do
that event to raise money for this wonderful organization and
(02:46:49):
spend some time with Speedy and Greg. Just text to
eight eight eight six Big Vox Events with an S
and you'll get a text with the link for you
to register and help out a great organization at the
same time. So just something to the emailer, because I
know we got up against the break there. Young lady,
(02:47:09):
you have wisdom beyond your age. And don't settle when
you're saying that you're going to go after a man
of faith. Don't marry outside the faith. Don't try not
to take on some fix me up. Hey, I'm in
love and I'm googling over this guy, even though he
shown me every red flag in the world. Don't do that.
(02:47:31):
Stay stay to what you feel called to, stay inside
the faith. Nobody's perfect, but if you share the same
beliefs in Christ and you raise your family without that
kind of conflict, it'll be better.
Speaker 5 (02:47:45):
Now.
Speaker 3 (02:47:45):
I do go ahead, though I would continue to work
to get some sort of skill of some kind. Saw
this on text Nation and the Right, because sometimes life
can be unpredictable, you know, and you you know, if
God forbid something were to happen and you ended up,
you know, the husband passed away or something, and you
needed to, you know, do some work on your own
(02:48:06):
as well outside of the home, you know, you want
to be prepared for that. And plus it just it
sounds like you're educating yourself in a big way anyway.
So yeah, so that's that's not don't let people make
you feel strange about that. I think that that desire
is actually very noble. And as I said, much needed.
So there you go.
Speaker 6 (02:48:27):
All right, So some other things for us to can
I say this, Yeah, Charlie, Charlie Kirk has been on
everybody's mind obviously for what happened, but you know, that
was one of the biggest things he pushed in some
of his live events was that for young Americans college
age to desire to have a family and desire to
(02:48:48):
be a two parent household and raised kids, and that's okay,
that's part.
Speaker 3 (02:48:54):
Of the American dream.
Speaker 6 (02:48:55):
And for a while it seemed like that kind of
went away and still to some I think, I that's
all some kind of crazy stat about a lot of
the female votes for Kamala Harris, like the like how
little family meant to them and you know, being a mom.
And I'm not saying everybody had voted for her filth
this way. That's just what the stats after the election.
Speaker 3 (02:49:18):
Were.
Speaker 6 (02:49:18):
But it's just it's okay to want a family and
live that American dream through a family's eyes.
Speaker 3 (02:49:24):
And that was one thing that Charlie say, it's okay,
we have to reassure somebody.
Speaker 7 (02:49:28):
Yeah, yeah, Charlie.
Speaker 4 (02:49:31):
This was kind of one of his mantras here. He
tweeted this out and they've made shirts from it and everything.
And that is get married, have children, build a legacy,
pass down your values, pursue the eternal, seek true joy,
and eventually we will replace the nihilists. And notice that's
not we will replace the brown people.
Speaker 3 (02:49:51):
We will.
Speaker 7 (02:49:52):
That's not what he was ever getting at.
Speaker 5 (02:49:54):
Ever.
Speaker 4 (02:49:54):
It never was about the color of your skin. It
never was about white, it never was about any of that.
It was about values, It was about truly things that
truly matter, and it was about having a happy family.
Charlie Kirk wanted everyone to have a happy family like
that was one of the main tenants of his entire ministry.
(02:50:16):
And it's just it's so sad to see how his
words and his legacy is getting twisted by people that
are either uninformed or malicious.
Speaker 3 (02:50:24):
Well, remember this, to Speedy's point, in Adler's and on
the spiritual application to that, is that anything that God designed,
the adversary hates and the nuclear family was God's design.
He said that it was not good that man was alone,
(02:50:45):
which meant everything he had created up to that point
would not serve as the perfect helper or the perfect partner.
So God says right now, that's one thing I don't have,
and that is what this man needs, a male and
then he made woman. That means that God said this
is the perfect arrangement. Of course, then we had the
(02:51:08):
fall and everything got corrupted, including you know, you had
you know, you had a husband that at one time
called his wife a wonderful gift from God. Then he
turns around and blames God forever making her and began
to blame his lack of leadership on her, and you know, off,
we were off, we were running then. And then you know,
(02:51:28):
the woman didn't take responsibility for what she did. She
blames the fact that you know, this serpent deceived me
and and everybody started making excuses and everybody turned on
each other. And then, you know, so the family needs
to be redeemed, just like everything else that God designed perfectly,
and then it was corrupted by sin. And I think
part of that, continuing to try to to get back
(02:51:51):
to the garden is that the attack on the traditional family.
When we say that, what we mean is God's design
for the family, and so God's design was correct. Now
it needs to be redeemed. That's why you don't want
to go off and marry people just select any husband
or any wife, because if they're not redeemed, they're still
(02:52:14):
a part of part of that problem. They still in that,
they're still the fall. So yeah, and our society has
paid a horrible price.
Speaker 5 (02:52:22):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (02:52:23):
And it was so I hope that movement that was
being you know, lived and endorsed and and promoted. You know,
that part will continue with a whole nother generation. And
maybe emails like that one from a fifteen year old
a girl would is a good sign. Yeah. So yeah, yeah,
no doubt about that. All right, So some other things, Well,
(02:52:46):
it's funny that was the next story right there. Oh
but have you have you seen speaking of you know,
parts of the family structure that when we got to
the point that everything's sosive and everybody's working, that daycare
has become part of so many families. The New Hampshire
(02:53:06):
daycare worker who secretly gave kids melatonin. Uh, they are
not going to calm you down a little. Yeah, they're
not going to put her in jail. She drugged kids
by lacing their food with melatonin. So it's not going
to be jail time for her. But she has been
(02:53:27):
reduced to a suspended sentence of up to seven years
in prison. She did plead guilty that she tried to
hide what she did uh and falsified some physical evidence.
Uh and and she is charged with reckless conduct. So
I've met a nap time it was like three hours.
Speaker 8 (02:53:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:53:48):
Yeah, they did say it was one of the quietest
daycarees they'd ever been to.
Speaker 4 (02:53:52):
The Well, yeah, I kind of would like to see
some jail time there, honestly, just six months, a month
even something, well that's messed up.
Speaker 21 (02:54:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (02:54:04):
Yeah, somebody's kids that you don't have permission to.
Speaker 3 (02:54:07):
That's that's not that's not good take care of their kids,
and and they're doing that and know that.
Speaker 7 (02:54:13):
I do think you should do some jail time for that.
Speaker 3 (02:54:15):
Yeah. Well, it goes back to it, you know, and
it's I know it's hard, and it's it's not always possible,
but boy, the more you can go back to the
structure of of I'm in I'm in charge of my kids,
nobody else is. I know, you can't always do that.
It's difficult, but boy, and the times we're living in now, Yeah,
(02:54:37):
I mean it's just there's so many people out there
that you know, there was a time where you thought, well,
there's a sweet person and and they'll take care of
my kids just like they're their own. But those people
just feel like they're getting fewer and fewer. I'm glad
there's some still out there, and there are there's some
great daycare, but but boy, you better vet them out.
Speaker 4 (02:54:59):
I mean, yare yeah, But I also but as soon
as I possibly can every day because I want that
time with them.
Speaker 7 (02:55:08):
I want that time with our family in our house.
Speaker 3 (02:55:11):
And I bet you vetted it out too, absolutely because
you got to, you know, and I understand sometimes just
one of those things, I get it completely. Did you
just want to check off lists of ooh, we handled that, boy,
don't vet them out, vet them out, and like Adler said,
and then you know, however, you can make the work
schedules work, be sure they're there for the least amount
(02:55:31):
of time, not because you didn't vet them out. And
these people can't be trusted. But it's just good to
be with your kids in those development years as much
as you possibly can that that's just healthy for them
and for you.
Speaker 6 (02:55:43):
Frankly, you don't still walk in and stand by the
picture of Jesus because they thought you were Jesus.
Speaker 3 (02:55:49):
That one ruby daddy, ruby daddy us. Yeah, yeah, you
don't did that? Did you get past that?
Speaker 4 (02:55:55):
Some of the younger ones still think I'm Jesus, But right,
I gotta stop. I gotta stop in and out crackers
to them.
Speaker 3 (02:56:01):
That's really confused. That's not helping, you know, it's not,
especially with the grape juice really throwing them.
Speaker 7 (02:56:06):
Yeah, yeahs over the line.
Speaker 3 (02:56:11):
Socks are over the lie in your and change into
them before you go in.
Speaker 7 (02:56:16):
Why do I keep doing that?
Speaker 3 (02:56:17):
Rethink the tunic? Yeah that's yea all that's bad. But
you're right, the one fabric clothing that's not helping. Think
this is fair. We'll come back. Well, we'll go on
screen phone calls to wrap up the hour.

stopping and he runs.
Speaker 3 (02:58:24):
OK how about I whooped that ass for you?
Speaker 6 (02:58:32):
Is in things about speedy on the phone? Rick, Sorry
for saying that, but he had that come. That's always
been the joke for you. Of course, those people are
jealous of our friendships where they go.
Speaker 3 (02:58:49):
That's that's what it is.
Speaker 5 (02:58:50):
I know.
Speaker 3 (02:58:50):
That's why I feel right. I was like I remember
going okay, So they're making Speedy feel bad for liking me?
What's wrong with liking me? We continue, Welcome to the
Rick Burgers Show. Unscreen phone calls.
Speaker 16 (02:59:03):
Go on, Hey, y'all, y'all are talking about a great
van fleet Earlier he's saying it was a led Zeppelin
cover Ben And you know, I get while you say that,
but you know they don't have a single led Zeppelin
cover song. Many They just sound like them, you know,
every every every great artist ever has influence. Though they're
heavy influenced by led Zeppelin, but they all original.
Speaker 7 (02:59:25):
Man, if you like them, that's fine. I don't like them,
but you can.
Speaker 3 (02:59:31):
I like some of their songs, and I think they
play play good, yeah, singers, a little flamboyant.
Speaker 7 (02:59:36):
They're good at sounding like led Zeppelin. Absolutely.
Speaker 3 (02:59:38):
We continue Rick Burgers Show. Unscreen phone calls, go ahead.
Speaker 23 (02:59:43):
I guess good morning, uh blast from the past, And
I can't remember the exact name of the place, but
I think it was the Red Hat or the Red
tap where black people and white people by furniture.
Speaker 8 (02:59:54):
You remember that red.
Speaker 3 (02:59:56):
House, Red hat, red house, red house or red hat.
Guess all right, thank you, I'm out. Remember we had
that guy in the studio, not him the other guy
we had. We interviewed the guys that do the the
jingles on the phone. I actually had one of their clients,
the guy from Coleman. You're right, Yes, we did. You
(03:00:16):
know we had the creators behind one of the creators
behind you, right, we sure did. Rick Burgers Show on
screen phone calls, go ahead in.
Speaker 23 (03:00:24):
Why want somebody help me?
Speaker 15 (03:00:26):

Speaker 5 (03:00:26):
Do?
Speaker 23 (03:00:28):
All?
Speaker 5 (03:00:28):
Right?
Speaker 3 (03:00:30):
Why won't anybody help me? I don't know why they
hate me?
Speaker 5 (03:00:35):
Right?
Speaker 3 (03:00:36):
I bet I think it was the sound of the voice.
You know your your voice sound is too with Oklahoma.
Rick Burgers Show on screen phone calls, go ahead.
Speaker 8 (03:00:52):
Morning, guys.
Speaker 18 (03:00:53):
I know y'all seeing this. Talk about the story this morning.
I follow the story out of Chicago. They have a
wonderful juditary system. There was a guy who was caught
drunk driving in a neighborhood, crashed through a backyard fence
into a family's house, and then it was his seventh duy.
Speaker 3 (03:01:10):
Seven, So good grief. So he just ignores, you got
a license. It don't matter. I'm driving that way, man,
I'm toaslam up. What they're gonna do is wait till
he kills somebody on public transit. Then they'll get it.
Then we continue as we roll through unscreened phone calls,
and we're doing this cautiously. Welcome to the Rick Burger Show.
(03:01:31):
Unscreen phone calls, go ahead.
Speaker 23 (03:01:33):
Hey man, just want to let you know, really enjoying
the Stranger Things podcasts. I know you probably can't address
it during this station, but I'd like to know if
we go more in depth on why the Catholic Church
is the only church which I know they're not the
only church, but seems to be the only church that's
in the forefront of exorcisms.
Speaker 1 (03:01:49):
And why that would be.
Speaker 23 (03:01:51):
You know, you really don't hear of a lot of
Baptist churches or you know, Pentecostal what they do, but
like not in the mainstream media. Why the Baptist Church
has always been like the Dallas Cowboys of Excious Cyst.
Speaker 3 (03:02:04):
That's pretty good. Yeah, the last word got it. But
they had a good one, Cowboys and it was good. Well,
I think the case. I think the Catholic Church, you know,
the priest with the white collar and all that. You know,
they once you end up in big demon movies, you
know that now becomes the look of the person who's
supposed to come cast out demons. But I know for
(03:02:25):
a fact that other denominations do it. I think you
might have hit on it. They just don't really make
a fuss about it. Uh And and you know, do
a bunch of interviews about it. Nothing there's anything wrong
with that. I mean, that's that's fine. I'm just saying
I think it's done. First of all, you think Catholic
priest when you think of you know, casting out demons,
(03:02:46):
the Dallas Cowboys of one year, it is are some
people great like to call them America's exorcis, but the
but no, there there are plenty of other denominations that that.
We even did an interview with somebody who's been on
the front lines and and he certainly wasn't Catholic. Uh
(03:03:07):
so so yeah, but I see your point. But there
is a lot and and there are just some places
that just you know, a lot of this happens with
missionaries out on the mission field because there's so much
demonic activity and some of these places they go. Uh
but it's it's not they don't have the corner market
(03:03:28):
on it. They just have the best I believe marketing
campaign about it. Uh. We continue Rick Burgers show unscreen
phone calls go ahead, O, good stuff, right there. Rick
(03:03:54):
Burgers show on.
Speaker 8 (03:03:55):
Phone calls, go ahead, I ain't listening to show a long.
Speaker 3 (03:04:01):
Okay, look, okay, it was You're funny and stupid. You
know it's I'm here because I know that if I
give you a little bit of rope from you can
handle it.
Speaker 19 (03:04:11):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (03:04:11):
We continue Rick Berger's show on screen. Phone calls go ahead, Uh.
Speaker 18 (03:04:17):
Rick, Uh, this is uh, this is Harry.
Speaker 20 (03:04:21):
I'm I'm I'm Larry's twin brother, and I see wise
those uh people were interrogating him.
Speaker 8 (03:04:32):
I spent.
Speaker 18 (03:04:34):
Nine months in the room with that guy.
Speaker 3 (03:04:37):
What a weirdo? What a weirdo? Can I tell you
that's not a bad It's not why you let it
go the hey, Rick was spot on in the fact
my brothers, Yeah, he had. He had a hard time
keeping it in the road, but he had. He had
some moments where he sounded a lot like Carlayer's brother.
Speaker 2 (03:04:59):
Was one.
Speaker 3 (03:05:00):
So that that wasn't That wasn't terrible. It really wasn't.
That's why you got got a little bit of room
with it. Thanks for being with us. Don't forget any
part you miss of the show. Grabbing on the archives.
It's available to you every day. I do know that
along some of the affiliates, we had some technical difficulty

but thank you for working through it and m being gamers.
Speaker 1 (03:05:28):
Time of the hour, this is the Rick Burgess Show
