(02:15):
got stories, we got audio clips, we got video, we
got pictures. Good night, we got a lot. All got
a lot. Speedy, speedy, speedy. What I think something's happening.
I think I'm starting to understand secondhand embarrassment. I think

(02:35):
I think it's awful. I'm being drunk, got it, I
know what it is. I just enjoy it. Right, that's
the difference. I think that's it. I'm not the part
that I don't like it yet. I'm just starting. I'm
just starting to understand.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
Just see it at the moment I flee, y'all lean
in right, Okay, that's it. I'm done, y'all, Like, give

more time.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
By the way, I found out over the weekend that
my wife is not comfortable with me. Throwing by people
who are gods, are founding fathers.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
Makes her nervous.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
She doesn't you need to on now, don't do that
at an archaeologist. I didn't think it was ever going
to stop, and I kept throwing stuff in right in
the middle of it, and I became Gerald Cage. Now
over here is this where y'all foundly? Couldn't He would go, huh,
and I'm stopping.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
You've done it around later makes her nervous. All right,
you do it.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
Thomas Jeffson's got skin cancer? Hey, hey, Thomas Jefferson, have
I looked at? I mean, I understand sticking to your role,
but you're in modern times, modern medicine.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
We can look at those skin cancer. That's all you
could focus on. My go you're not hearing what he's saying.
I'm looking. Oh, you couldn't got past it. I don't
think it was my add tell him, well, I did.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
He shared when he when he was telling me about,
you know, Monticello and that we need to go by
there too and all that, and I said, I want
to have that looked at.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
And sure, He's like, so what does your buddy say
about it? Is he taking over this part of the tour.
Go talk to go talk to it from here, Greg talk,
Go talk to Ben Franklin. He's he seems to be
pretty smart. I didn't have to look at it.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
But uh but anyway, now the thing that's gonna get you,
and we'll talk about it in a minute when I
do ricas gosh, Greg, of course.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
You would have loved it. You would have loved it.

Speaker 5 (04:34):
Is this.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
We went to James Madison's place there the author, that's
that's what you came back with. Well it's called something
monte Pillar or something like that.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
Monticello.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Now that's that's Thomas Jefferson Monticello. But anyway, so, uh
so when when yeah, Pillier, Pilier, that's it.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
So when you just went and.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
So when you go there, now, Speedy, this is you
got to get ready. You gotta get ready because here
I wish I could have been with Speedy and and
sure it Greg. At one time, I'm sure he said,
would you just rather Speedy come instead of me?

Speaker 6 (05:09):
You know?

Speaker 3 (05:10):
And I said no, I said, but I can't. I
can't get wish just for just for now.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
I said, you wouldn't mind, who's just here with us
right now? Yeah, so anyway, he ain't going to dinner
with this what I wanted to see. But anyway, so
at American Village, we have this to a degree. By
the way, I want everybody know what American village. I
let everybody know they're in Virginia. They ain't got nothing
on American Village. The fact that we're pretending we're there.
I actually was there. Well, but anyway, besides that, right,

(05:37):
but you know how we have actors that that Greg,
I've never seen any commitment like that. They won't even
let you bring them into modern time. And if I
could have been like when I would do things like
you do things like we're yeah, we're from Birmingham, Alba.
I'm not familiar with that. Are you talking about, you know,

(05:57):
at the Yazoo Land Company and and that that to
that land we have that we're trying to you know,
that's Georgia. And I'm like, oh, well, they're not gonna
come out of character.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
Talk to so they're a mascot. They wouldn't come out of.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
You guys are gonna be one of our twenty four states.
You know, we're gonna continue to try to maybe one
day we can get to fifty, we hope. And I'm like, oh, you're.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
Going, I got the answer.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
We get to fifty by the way, you get there.
So and and because they went from let's all remember too.
I'm like, oh, wait a minute, they're acting like their ghost.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
Oh, and they won't come out.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
They will not come out of character the whole time.
And they have the talk going and and like Thomas
Jefferson instead of just telling me to go over where
they're doing some archaeology, had tald behaved, he'd been discovering
like he was inventing archaeology, which apparently he played.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
Some key role he did. He learned about that. But
but I'm like, no, no, we already got all that. Yeah,
right here we go, Okay, I get it.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
No, Thomas Jefferson was Thomas Jefferson, James Monroe was jameson Rowe.
James Madison was very much James Madison. And they're really
really smart, and they know a lot about our country,
and they know about the characters they are portraying. But
it went further than that. I think they think they're them.
Oh yeah, that they're that method and and I will

(07:20):
just say at one point, so you think they take
it home with him? I got a thing with James
Madison that got a little comfortable. He and I near
the one.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
It over something current or was it something that happened
back in the seventeen hundred.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
I had to remind James Madison that, you know this
lady's will me. What is he now, James Madison? Maybe
he was in characters. Maybe the real James Madison. He
was forty back, so he's just trying to pull later
or somebody was telling us says, you know, he was
the ultimate Bachelor for forties, and I went, yeah, maybe

(07:54):
he's acting.

Speaker 5 (07:56):
That guy also plays Bill Clinton in another.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
Now that was that was the that that one, you
know it is over in Arkansas, and then that one.
He actually doesn't just hit on your wife. He gives
her his number.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
But I know I didn't have phones. Hey, James, don't
know what happened to seventeen hundred, big guy, But twenty
twenty five you canna hitting them a while.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
I had a little research on you that I'm not
mistaken you about you about five, two, one, ten y in.

Speaker 5 (08:27):
My mind is twenty twenty five.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
Yeah, yeah, he must not know about me. Hey, James Madison,
I've taken dumps bigger than you.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
Oh what? Oh wow? Is that is that what it got?
Would have back off a little bit, should you be right?
In the Constitution right, Yeah, I'm pretty forced to get
to it. Yeah, once you get up in your office
where you spend a lot of time. Apparently I know
you did in character, but I need to know. Do
you understand me?

Speaker 7 (08:50):
Right?

Speaker 3 (08:50):
You didn't go you gotta go find Dolly. Let me
back already come right after that.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the man who could

(09:26):
fix the entire commercial airline industry if they would only
give him a shot.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
Rick Bridges, Hope everybody's all right and starting a brand
new week.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
And we have so much to cover from the weekend.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
Obviously, if you're someone something that I was talking to
some of our founding fathers about just this past weekend
in Virginia is apparently they're still alive and well and
walking across James Madison's property. But anyway, so US tax shield,
US tax shield right now, if you have an outstanding

(10:08):
balance with the irs, that is not a fun feeling.
Nobody likes that feeling. That's horrible. Maybe hadn't filed in
a while, meant to get around to it now. The
black cloud is hanging over you, and you know you
are in the crosshairs of the world's largest collection agency.
Doesn't that feel good. But why don't we get that resolve?

(10:29):
Now you're going to need an advocate, and that's our
friends at US tax Shield. Better Business Bureau gives them
an A plus something that Greg you and I rarely
saw in the report.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
It's up in.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
Athletics pe pe US tax Shield. So why don't you
contact them. There's no obligation to use them. They'll they'll
talk to you. They'll say, hey, here's some programs you
may qualify for and you may be able to go
ahead and get this resolved with the lowest payment possible
with the IRS, because they want to resolve it too. Now,
if you keep on, they're gonna garnish wages, they're gonna

(11:03):
sell all property, and they may put.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
You your rear end in jail. Now you don't want that.
You don't want that, do not.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
So call them at one eight hundred and seven six
nine seven three four zero.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
Let's get this done.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
The phone number also a Rick burgesshow dot com under sponsors. Okay,
so we'll we'll work back through trip to Virginia. Just
a few highlights from that coming up. Virginia, Meet Virginia.
So a couple of other things to obviously discuss you
had some football action over the weekend. As far as
college football, I didn't see any of it. I saw

(11:38):
just a little bit of NFL last night Sunday night football.

Speaker 5 (11:43):
Not a lot.

Speaker 2 (11:43):
Didn't stay with it, So I'm not gonna be much
help to us on football.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
You guys will have to kind of update me. I
don't know what happened.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
I know that there was a few I saw something
where in the SEC conference the SEC officials put out
an official statement that they did not make a call
they should have made. Of course, I don't know what
good that does now, but I would make it hurt worse,

(12:14):
thank you. Yes, yeah, yeah, Oklahoma scored on an illegal
play that everybody agreed and the off season was illegal,
but then when someone actually ran it, the officials decided
they forgot all those meetings.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
Yeah that happened. Sure, you know y'all were the one
lecturing about it. That pretty much of your thing. That's
your thing.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
Yeah you should know that y'all lectured us about it
then didn't call it.

Speaker 3 (12:37):
So uh So, anyway, were there were miscallsh in college
and the NFL. And I know nobody's perfect. I got that,
but wow, there some it was some big moments. Well
the key plays.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
Yeah, I think that the thing that keeps perplexing us.
And I'm not talking about that play because again, all
I saw is what's been posted by the SEC, not
by fans' just be careful when fans post things, but
by the SEC. The thing I don't get are things
like in the NFL and another call that was from
another game I saw over the weekend. I don't understand
that when when we were told, that's the part that

(13:12):
bothers me. I'm okay, if you didn't tell me this,
but I see if I have this right? See if
I remember this right, on instant replay at any level,
the call on the field has standing. It has more
power than the call they didn't call.

Speaker 3 (13:28):
Undisputable evidence you got ahead of me. But that's where
I was going.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
Did I have it right that if the call on
the field, it has prominence and there must be indisputable
evidence on the replay to overturn it or it stands.

Speaker 3 (13:46):
Do I have that right?

Speaker 2 (13:47):
But yet I see plays that the call on the
field still looks right, and I see no indisputable evidence
to overturn it, and they overturn it. So I can't
follow it. Yeah I don't. I can't follow it.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
Yeah, it's of.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
Course Arkansas wishes that would have happened to them. They
actually reviewed it and went, oh you did fumble, Yeah right, yes,
right they did. So the ball games right there. Yes see,
I didn't know anything going on. A lot of it
just comes from thank you so much. You know, all
of you out there that follow what we do, and
so you'll start peppering me with things that I have
no reference point for. So like I got just one

(14:23):
out of Arkansas. You know, hey, it looks like our
coaches out of here, and word on the street, he's gone.
I said, well, I guess things were. Arkansas didn't go well.
They had two real close losses back to back. I
think they fumbled last week against o Miss on the
drive and at the end, and then this one that
looked like they were they had the first down and
could run the clock down and either kick a that.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
Would to be a pat short field goal and win
the game, and he fumbled. He fumbled, But then they
had another chance. They they fumbled and then got the
ball back and they got the field goal got blocked. Yeah,
I mean, you know, but that the game is over
if they don't fumble. No, I great, I agree, but
they also had the feel gold to win it and
got blocked. Not sad part. So unless I'm I'm black.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
No, I know you probably remember I was in and out.
We actually celebrated Lisa's birthday with the grandkids. Her birthday
is not till Thursday, so that the games were on
in the background, so I was just trying to kind
of keep up. Yeah, I'm always confused because I know
how Lisa loves that September song from Earth Winding Fire.
Watched that last night and it always makes me think
that her birthday is on the twenty first. Yeah she

(15:28):
changes the lyrics to twenty fifth. Okay, that's the part
always throws me. And last night there was a tribute
to earth Winding Fire from Live from the Hollywood.

Speaker 3 (15:36):
Oh right, yeah, it was really good.

Speaker 2 (15:37):
Oh wow, But but yeah, Sherry, now we're in a
panic in Arkansas because I was like, I got up
and I said, is it twenty first? And I said,
I think it's Lisa's birthday And then Cherry started panicking
getting her phone up and all that we were, and
I was like, you know, because twenty first day September
and then share share is like, now it's the twenty fifth.
But I but I'm glad y'all got the celebration and

(15:58):
with all four grand kids.

Speaker 3 (15:59):
Yes, but that was a party. It is. It always
says they're funny.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
They just they sit in there at that table when
they're pretending they actually may eat and just listening to
their conversations amongst themselves.

Speaker 3 (16:12):
All yeah, the little little little Mary, howsele eat? Okay?
Everybody else then got up. She's still tearing up some
chicken fingers. That's funny. And and and you're right, there
were so many field goal blocks. I had the wrong game.
The fumble did is what beat Arkansas? So you were right.
There was so many field goal blocks. Okay, so it
fell alone, there was like three.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
It sounds like to me, y'all didn't see any more
football than I did. No, Arkansas had three timeouts, used
them and gave it first down.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
They could have got the ball, yeah, but they made.
Then the Memphis made. That's right. That the Memphis quarterback
like drugged the Arkansas defensive lineman. And that was the
first that was it.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
How about this? This is my like when you're on
the little romantic getaway. You gotta pretend like you don't
care about football while trying to check on it. And
so one time, sure, we just went to get ready
for us to go out to eat whatever.

Speaker 3 (16:57):
She comes. She goes, what are you doing? I said nothing.
She goes, what what are you doing on your phone
over there?

Speaker 2 (17:02):
I said, word on the street is Pittmans taking his
cob beer and leaving Faeville?

Speaker 3 (17:07):
And she and then look, and then she goes.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
She goes, Okay, what else? I said, Apparently Auburn got
some really bad call. Okay, what else? Dabo Sweeney's crying.
So I'm gonna I'm just by this. I think Arkansas lost,
Auburn lost, and I think Clemson loss.

Speaker 8 (17:21):
Yeah, just just that that's great.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
I wont tell you I watched some of the Clemson
uh Syracuse Syracuse pretty good.

Speaker 3 (17:29):
And their coach you gotta love him. Yeah, the one
that sprint.

Speaker 2 (17:33):
Yeah yeah, any modern coach that makes a current bunch
of spoiled brats run sprints, huh after not playing well
after the game in the stadium, I'm all about. One
of his players got a tawning penalty and a key
situation and he ripped that kid.

Speaker 3 (17:48):
He was waiting on him if he came to the sidelines,
but he let them that kid'll probably getting transfer a portal.
He was pretty good football team. Yeah, yeah they are.
And you know I was watching, uh. I did pay
attention to the Oklahoma Auburn game and there was some
two pass interference calls that just jump out. One the
guy was just hugging all over him and the referee

(18:11):
was trying to get out of the way, had his
back turned to the play and didn't see it. That's
why you have help. And then the other one was
Missouri South Carolina. That was a good game. Yeah, it
was real good. Those were two really good games. The
coach of Missouri's a hot hot item right now. You
hear jobs, I got a good football team day and
you run at Canton. Yeah, all right, we'll be back.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
So there's kind of us you know, more about probably
what happened this weekend football wise than we do, but
plenty to cover, including the Charlie Kirk memorial service and
all that sort.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
So we spend a lot of time talking about even today,
the state of the culture.

Speaker 3 (18:53):
You know, darkness is.

Speaker 2 (18:56):
It is alive and well, but the light, certainly, as
we've been told, always overcomes. But maybe you need a
little break from all this and you just just like
the praise and worship. Maybe you got to see yesterday
you'd like to say, Man, that's what I need. I
need more of that.

Speaker 6 (19:11):
Well.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
October the eleventh, Dallas, Texas, something called Share the Arrows Now.
This is for women, hosted by Blaze TV's on Ali
Beth Stuckey, designed to encourage, equip and speak truth into
women who are willing to stand up against the world
and stand with Christ.

Speaker 3 (19:31):
I'll tell you one thing.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
We talk about the fact that we do need godly men,
but let me tell you something. It's an uphill climb.
You don't have godly women. So that's what this is about.
Bold voices like Ginger Dougger, Alyssa Childers, Katie Foules, Taylor
Duke's Worship Francesca Battistelli is going to be going on.
So if you if you want to get tickets guys
for the women in your life, or or you want

(19:56):
to just get some for yourself. If you're a woman
out there, go to Share the Eras dot com, Share
the Arrows dot Com and Yes, VIP options are still available.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
We talked to the public every day and trust us,
you should be gravely concerned. The Rick Burgers show.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
All right, So we'll get into more updates from the weekend.
Coming up a little bit later, we will talk about
the memorial service. Memorial service last night's Charlie Kirk. We'll
hit some of that addlers gathering those highlights for us,
so we'll put those together a little later on in
the program as well. So some things to be aware of.

(20:39):
So coming up this week, excited to be headed. You know,
it's odd that I spent this past weekend in Orange, Virginia.
In this weekend, I'm going to Orange, Texas.

Speaker 3 (20:53):
How weird next.

Speaker 2 (20:54):
Week so I'm going to see syrahcuse the Orange play
and then after that Tennessee and then.

Speaker 3 (20:59):
Is and Greg arn So in that weird what's the
odds of that?

Speaker 2 (21:03):
I didn't Yeah, But anyway, so looking forward to this weekend.
It is a man church one day, first Baptist Church,
Orange Texas. Rich Wingo and Andy Blanks. I'm so honored
to be going with them, all three of us get
a chance to speak. It's a little man church one
day starts to day in the morning. We'll be done
by lunch. Uh, So we'll get you you guys back

(21:23):
home at a good at a good time, and hopefully
you'll make plans to be with us. What we're saying
now with all the things that are going on, and
some of this was mentioned even by Charlie Kirk's widow
last night, the importance of men taking our proper role
under the authority of Christ. You know, this is something
we've been talking about a lot in the last five years.

(21:44):
We've actually been you know, putting together a strategy to
do those things.

Speaker 3 (21:47):
And so these.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
Gatherings we're kind of saying now more than ever. So
hopefully you'll make plans to be with us in Texas
coming up on Saturday. But there are other opportunities coming
and you can find all those at Themanchurch dot Com
under events Go find one near you. So a couple
of hay Burges here.

Speaker 5 (22:08):
Turning back in the house. We're turning it loud birges.
Questions keep coming, the answers, flow.

Speaker 9 (22:16):
Emails, stacks, birds on the no time to store.

Speaker 3 (22:20):
Somebody say hey, BRD. Somebody said hey them all, Hey, hey, gosh,
what's the words is it?

Speaker 2 (22:25):
So here it is hay birge hay birds, and these
kind of emails on me because they are just short
and to the point, and they give us something to ponder.
Since Rosie O'Donnell left the US, there have been no
more big foot sightings.

Speaker 5 (22:43):
Good, I will say never.

Speaker 3 (22:46):
We used to get like.

Speaker 8 (22:49):
You should get one every two months, not one? Wow

Speaker 5 (24:20):
It's real, it is real.

Speaker 2 (24:23):
Yeah all right, I saw I saw the whole documentary
on Yeah sure.

Speaker 3 (24:27):
Okay, uh hey Merge, hey Burge. First off, I like that.

Speaker 2 (24:31):
I like these heads up. First off, BIF alert.

Speaker 3 (24:35):
Some one who knows they're coming. I know. I'm a BIP.

Speaker 2 (24:38):
Sorry about that. I'm a podcast listener. I'm currently in July.

Speaker 3 (24:43):
Don't let that go by. I don't understand the mindset.
How can you be in July and still be here.

Speaker 2 (24:49):
I'm a podcast listener and I'm currently in July.

Speaker 3 (24:53):
How did you get Look, I'm as glad. We had
one of those in the in the Vox seats the
other day. They said, if, if, unless it's a big
current event, I will go forward and listen to that,
like what happened with Charlie Kirk. I went for it
and listened to that and then went back to where
I was. I was, Okay.

Speaker 2 (25:08):
So he says, huge BIP. I know he said huge BIP.
I know because he means he's about to talk to that.
We we've left, we've gone on. Okay, So he says,
please forgive me for this. I worked for a hospital
and I refuse to miss an hour of the show,
so I just listened when I can. However, your hospital
is pretty important.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
It is hospital. You might want to pay attention to hospital.

Speaker 2 (25:30):
You know what, the people that you were doing surgery
own were thankful that you made the right choice. Okay,
he said, I know y'all already talked about this. However,
I want you to know I did order some of
the chocolate honey from the East Boga Honey Company, and hey,
it's number one. Okay, we got it at home and
live it. My question is what's the best way that
you found to eat it?

Speaker 6 (25:51):
So far?

Speaker 2 (25:52):
My favorite is on peanut butter on a peanut butter
sandwich with a banana.

Speaker 3 (25:55):
Added to the peanut butter.

Speaker 2 (25:56):
Nice, all right, that's too great taste that you put
your peanut butter there, cut your bananas on top, drizzled
the bananas with it.

Speaker 3 (26:05):
Not bad.

Speaker 2 (26:05):
I don't I use don't like combining sweets with peanut butter,
but I'm okay. Also, I'm in July, so also, a
happy late birthday to the little baby brother Greg.

Speaker 3 (26:15):
He Oh wow, I'm sure Greg would love the chocoate.
Time for my next birthday is Greg?

Speaker 6 (26:20):
Ever?

Speaker 2 (26:20):
Put a chocolate honey on a fritter.

Speaker 3 (26:25):
I would try it, especially Christian hedge ones. I'm trying
to figure out if you would it ever be bad
on anything. I'm sitting spaghetti.

Speaker 2 (26:33):
Okay, okay, so I don't know. I got some problems
right now. Let me look at the I'm talking about live.
Let's go live, Live Live. Can I sell trainer Sean
that honey is good for me? It is good for
chocolate honey. Yeah, it's got co It's cocoa infused honey,
that's all it is. Yes, it's local.

Speaker 3 (26:54):
Honey, local. Yeah, it's good for your allergies. So I
will tell you. But this is the problem. And I
don't and I don't do this.

Speaker 2 (27:04):
Very often, very very rare, and in modern day do
I have ice cream?

Speaker 3 (27:09):
Very rare? I love ice cream.

Speaker 2 (27:11):
But now I'm becoming the world's most interesting man. But
when I do, I now have started to put coconut
infused honey over it. My goodness, coconut coke. I'm sorry,
cocoa infused. I'm sorry, not panicked. I'm trying. I'm sure
there is some coconut too. Also another one, and this

(27:32):
one I think Sean will be okay. With uh person
who's still stuck it? Because when are you gonna.

Speaker 3 (27:37):
Hear us enter it?

Speaker 2 (27:38):
Well, but by the time we answer this year, this
guy's three months behind there.

Speaker 3 (27:41):
Thing.

Speaker 2 (27:43):
But take a protein waffle. You know those waffles you
get that are protein waffles. I try to avoid put
you a little gee on it or some butter who
is over there?

Speaker 3 (27:53):
And then I got.

Speaker 2 (27:55):
And I'm getting there waffle and then put the the
coke coca infused honey over that waffle.

Speaker 3 (28:04):
I'm sure it's good. It's just the way. It's just
a food.

Speaker 7 (28:11):
From you.

Speaker 3 (28:11):
Yeah, I got myghee and uh yeah, we're just having
an all star breakfast. My shirt Friday paint off? Well good?
Oh back to the uh so anyway, so there you go.
So we got about that shirt.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
Yeah, well I didn't because I was pummeled about it
all weekend by various people in the audience. So the
one I think that we overlooked it was a good one.
The shirt looks like somebody sneezed on you and you
now have the COVID virus all over your shirt.

Speaker 3 (28:39):
Is fun.

Speaker 5 (28:41):
Hey, did you guys see uh somebody sent a new shirt?

Speaker 2 (28:46):
Yes, yes, merch have you seen this made this. By
the way, I think we should.

Speaker 3 (28:50):
Oh my, I think I think we should. I sent
that on to merch. That's a good shirt. That's that
you would wear that shirt? No, the fans of the
show would, yeah, but I picture Speedy in I cared
to you Rhee Wilbourne would yeah. Yeah, those you need.
You can't see it.

Speaker 2 (29:06):
It's your classic Tommy Bahama button down and the decorations
on it are the face logo that you can I'm
not sure if you were.

Speaker 3 (29:14):
Going to an event, which event you would wear that too.

Speaker 10 (29:18):
The faces need to be smaller, so you get like,
you get closer and you're like, what is that always
a face you think it needs.

Speaker 5 (29:24):
To be need to be bigger?

Speaker 3 (29:25):
Let me tell you.

Speaker 2 (29:28):
Picture, Well, how weird would it be if I wore
Everybody kept look at my face and looking at that.
But we have something coming out for a hunting season
that that may include that in the cameo pattern, which
is funny funny.

Speaker 3 (29:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (29:48):
See, somebody said I'd absolutely wear that shirt.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
I've sent it on the merchant.

Speaker 2 (29:55):
I've sent it on so thank you for the emails. Yeah,
I said, they said, either Greg or Gary sing The
Wreck of the Evening fish Gerald.

Speaker 3 (30:05):
Hey, when they come down to Lake meet Chili.

Speaker 1 (30:08):
Is the rick Burchers Show, God fearing and America loving
The rick Burgers Show.

Speaker 3 (30:30):
All right, we're back. Thanks for being with us, America.
We got a lot to do today. You can imagine
starting a brand new week. Thanks you for being with us.
I don't know somebody with a good one. Hey, y'all,
just try to be nice to be up.

Speaker 2 (30:43):
Who emails somebody emailing back and say you Joe answer
his question?

Speaker 3 (30:47):
Today's we'll go here. Yeah, that's a good idea. That's
a good idea.

Speaker 2 (30:51):
And by the way, this cartoon that just was sent
to us about Texas and arch Manning, it has slay us.

Speaker 3 (30:58):
Yeah, not saying it show good, but it did. It
did all right. So, uh, I didn't know this.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
You know, we being Southerners, you know, we get a
lot of flak. Sherry and I being from Alabama in
Virginia this past weekend, we became kind of like low
local folk lore.

Speaker 3 (31:15):
We understand you, the two from Alabama, Yes, we are
so so. Anyway, when they got in a fight with
h James Madison. Yeah, James Garrett, are you the one
that pushed James Madison? But but the uh but the yeah,
it was like they couldn't believe we were there. Okay,
so to y'all here, okay, good, you know you're staying
over so okay, good. Where y'all from Alabama?

Speaker 11 (31:36):
What you know?

Speaker 2 (31:37):
Because most people were at least, you know, a couple
of hours away or something like that. So so you know,
we had a great time. We'll talk more about that
coming up. But you know, we catch a lot of
flat you know, a lot of Southern stereotypes.

Speaker 3 (31:49):
I can't believe that.

Speaker 2 (31:50):
And uh, you know one of the things we've noticed,
you Northerners don't have a lot to y'all got your
own problems. Uh, tell me what stake Chrispy, do you
know this because you put them, you put the story.
I'll ask Adler and Greg what state do you think
on October first? Will finally ban marriage with first cousins,

(32:13):
not second finally finally just now doing it? October twenty twenty.

Speaker 5 (32:17):
Five, Mississippi. Sorry speedy, No.

Speaker 3 (32:20):
See see there, that's exactly what I'm talking to. Joke.
I'm gonna go I'm gonna try it. Since this officer
it must not be an obvious one. I'm going to
say Delaware. You know what, not a bad guess. Connecticut.

Speaker 2 (32:30):
Wow, Connecticut my second guest.

Speaker 3 (32:34):
Connecticut.

Speaker 5 (32:35):
By way, some people I know some people Connecticut. I
will give me my second guess.

Speaker 2 (32:39):
By the way, Bob Carry, our syndicator, is from Connecticut,
and he will hear from me.

Speaker 3 (32:45):
He will hear from me.

Speaker 2 (32:46):
Connecticut has finally stepped up, Connecticut. That you would have
it said, I wudn't believe all the people rushing to
get married before October the first in Connecticut.

Speaker 5 (32:56):
We better hurried because.

Speaker 2 (32:57):
Especially especially if your first cousins. Fine, but I mean
but the so state law had already banned people from
marrying a parent.

Speaker 3 (33:07):
That's good on the gate. Done that nice.

Speaker 2 (33:11):
By the way, I know it's not blood. We had
and we had a story last week. I know it's
not blood can and I'm sorry. If you're a step parent,
come on now, I mean, don't hook up one of
you step kids.

Speaker 3 (33:23):
Well no, we don't.

Speaker 2 (33:26):
And we've seen that and I know I know it's
but that's not good line you've taken on a parental role.

Speaker 3 (33:31):
Yeah, okay, that story we had years ago. Well, we
had one last week. You had one there last week.
It was so it was so bad. I couldn't even
I couldn't even do the story that man and lady
fell in love with each other and they didn't know
they were brother and suit. Yeah yeah, you had one
last week about a step mom going bad. Oh yeah,
oh yeah, I remember that. It was got call in
that act.

Speaker 2 (33:51):
Could our husband like Grace, you talked about a mind
trip that will haunt you the rest of your good
not who is the Oh my gosh, daddy, Oh my gosh,
we're casting, we're busted.

Speaker 3 (34:05):
Who said that? Sounds like my kid? Okay, so.

Speaker 2 (34:10):
Hey, hey, you know what, I think it's one of
those things you sitting down with the counselor and he
just says, I'm sorry.

Speaker 3 (34:15):
I don't think it was either. Yeah, I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
You're too far now, there's too traumatizing.

Speaker 3 (34:19):
I don't know. I'm giving you money about this. I
just take you money I can't get I can't fix it.

Speaker 2 (34:26):
So anyway, uh so parent, grandparent, which is my guys
put an the world, sibling and child. They overlook first cousin,
and so they're going to they're gonna make it right. Yes,
they're gonna they're going to make it, make it they're
gonna finally going to say that pro creation between first

(34:46):
cousins can increase the chance of birth effects.

Speaker 3 (34:48):
Yes it can. If you don't believe that, just watch
some of these documentaries.

Speaker 12 (34:53):
A boy.

Speaker 2 (34:55):
So anyway, they are finally going to ban it. Well,
thank goodness, can that? Can I see every Yeah you
added with his little joke in there. Thought it was
Mississippi people to West Virginia, Alabama, you know, and so
Tennessee and the hills.

Speaker 3 (35:12):
No, it's Connecticut.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
I'll never guess Connectic. So Connecticut. You connected people. They're
so full of yourself. There's no advance. Y'all still marrying
first cousins, not anymore. Not you better go get you
better marry him or heard soon. Yeah, you got to
the first October one.

Speaker 3 (35:26):
It's over. If you look, there's just a line up
at the courthouf hoory. Do you think about all the
people in the world and you picked your first cousin.
I mean there's so many people out there, A lot
of people, Yeah, a lot of people. And there a
lot of people just in your town. For what town
you live in, Hey, get out a little bit. You
don't look look beyond your yard, guys, there's something walk

(35:52):
past the mailbox every now and then.

Speaker 2 (35:57):
Yeah, every time, every time we put that every time
we put that ten up for family reunion. There's other
places to fish covids over get out right, but but no,
it's not over. But some towns, well, some towns it's
called being sick. Some towns, though, I mean to try
to get away from cousins. I mean, some people got

(36:20):
a lot of cousins. I mean, you know, like Sherry's
parents on both sides. I think her mama had like
ten siblings, and my dad had like her dad, her
dad had like eleven siblings. Do you realize how many
cousins I know? I mean it's completely out of hand,
I mean accidentally, especially you get off in the third
first removed, and all, am, well they don't count.

Speaker 3 (36:42):
They know what you do about that? I mean you can't.

Speaker 5 (36:44):
Let's just stay.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
Let's just stay with first cousins, maybe so lest they're
adopted and they're still in play.

Speaker 3 (36:48):
Yeah, but then you know what you're gonna have to do.
You have to see birthstificated on your first date. Could
you show me yours? I'll do you have your family
tree available right? Well, you might want to look. We've
had some Speedy said, we've had some bad story we have.
I mean some I can't imagine. I mean people that like, hey,
we just didn't know.

Speaker 2 (37:05):
That one of the brother and sister really got me. Well,
the thing you got to watch out for it if
if you should have done that way back. But what
you have to watch out for if if you had
a daddy that was you know, wherever he laid his
hat was his home.

Speaker 3 (37:17):
Oh yeah, you know when he got and all he
left us was alone. You don't know what he's been
doing out there now. You remember the terrible story was
terryll owens to that and he told it so I'm
not his book or whatever that he was interested in
young lady. And his dad called to the side and said, no,
you can't. You can't be interested. Oh I forgot about that.
That's your sister, easy. I mean nobody knew it, but

(37:39):
his dad knew it. His dad knew it.

Speaker 2 (37:40):
Yeah, that's about Rolling Stone at least he told him.

Speaker 3 (37:44):
Hey, how about that. That's why step up to be good?
Been your life at all. But let me give you
some advice about this girl across.

Speaker 5 (37:52):
Hey, Hey, that's called dad stuff.

Speaker 2 (37:55):
That's right, So un it's time for us to have
a little man man. By the way, somebody says in Alabama,
cousins are strictly for practice. Okay, that's terrible.

Speaker 3 (38:09):
Well you teach me how to kid it's terrible. That's awful, terrible. Yeah,
and then and then their shells. But we won't get
into it.

Speaker 2 (38:19):
She was adopted. She wasn't even the same ethnicity. Okay,
that doesn't count. She was adopted.

Speaker 3 (38:26):
That helps. Yeah, Polynesian made it more exotic.

Speaker 2 (38:32):
You know, Look, what can you do when you're young
and dumb and you stuck down to the river all week?
So Polynesians don't talk like Asians. Okay, while we're going
to boat house, No, no, adopted, adopted, adopted.

Speaker 3 (38:53):
I just want to set you though, didn't Greg?

Speaker 2 (38:56):
Oh, I tell you him reason he's up saying that's
what I'm saying at somebody got blocked out for a rebound?

Speaker 6 (39:04):
No way.

Speaker 3 (39:06):
Hey, where's if i'd been you?

Speaker 7 (39:09):
The lost?

Speaker 2 (39:14):
I remember Greg kept saying I played football too.

Speaker 13 (39:17):
Uh so, okay, all right, that you're like sept.

Speaker 3 (39:29):
That's not how Polynesian people talk. By the way, that's
not you always had fresh pine apples. So we'll be back.

Speaker 6 (39:40):
Some of the albums.

Speaker 1 (39:46):

All Right, America, thank you for being with us today.

Speaker 2 (41:12):
The gang all here, Speedy Gregg Addler, and we moved forward.
We will look back on the memorial service last night
for Charlie Kirk. That's coming out of next hour as
we'll walk through some of the highlights of that with
you on screen.

Speaker 3 (41:30):
Phone calls still to come and some more hate Bird
as well as we move forward. You know, I think
probably my best shot here will probably be Adler. Have
y'all ever stayed in the bed and breakfast kind of
scared of it? Yeah? Are either they're haunted?

Speaker 10 (41:52):
Yeah, but actually probably more so when I was a
kid with my parents growing up, were they big on
a bed and breakfast?

Speaker 6 (42:00):
I do?

Speaker 10 (42:01):
Now I do air bed and breakfast Airbnb, but those
aren't real bread and breakfast?

Speaker 6 (42:05):
Does this?

Speaker 3 (42:06):
Does that count?

Speaker 14 (42:07):
What?

Speaker 5 (42:08):
It doesn't count?

Speaker 11 (42:09):
So?

Speaker 3 (42:09):
Is this like an old house and y'all have a
room and everybody's got a different room? You walk out hall.

Speaker 2 (42:16):
I was not mentally prepared for it, okay, because I
in my mind you down to breakfastboy's house.

Speaker 5 (42:21):
I don't like that format. I don't like that format
in my mind.

Speaker 2 (42:25):
Super nice people, But in my mind I kept picturing
places that we normally. I couldn't get Hotel out of
my mind. I couldn't get it. I couldn't get an
inn out of my mind, and so I just wasn't.
I wasn't mentally prepared. You chose somebody's house because at
one time, at one time, we were driving alone and
I said, sure, were we staying at an inn or
a bed and breakfast?

Speaker 3 (42:45):
She goes, no, I think it's just an inn. I said,
I'm pretty sure you said bed and breakfast.

Speaker 2 (42:49):
And so we go to pull sit around table with
a bunch of strangers and eat. So we go to
pull in and there's the sign, I said, it clears
says bed and breakfast. And we came pulling up to.

Speaker 3 (42:58):
This really really, really really.

Speaker 2 (43:01):
Old house that James Madison, the author of the Constitution
Country's got a lot of ghost and it was. And
the first thing I think of Greg, is my gosh,
strange encounters. This is when they come to get.

Speaker 3 (43:12):
Yes, I thought, Adler and I have stirred up something.
I bet there were about three old man that looks yeah,
that's on the cover of a haunted house.

Speaker 10 (43:19):
That's Amityville, right, You're staying in Amityville, Transylvania.

Speaker 3 (43:24):
My goodness, revolutionary soldiers stand. I just can't see him.

Speaker 2 (43:28):
Yes, So you know that look. I tend to when
I go vacation. I tend to go something. I tend
to go first class. I want first class everything. Okay,
so cool. So my first thing is when I pull up,
I realized nobody's coming to get the luggage, and all right,
I'm like, you can't what what are you talking?

Speaker 15 (43:48):
Just what?

Speaker 16 (43:51):
You like?

Speaker 3 (43:51):
What do we check in? I'm glad raining because men
don't run.

Speaker 2 (43:55):
I'm like, where do we check in? So I'm dragging
some big old suitcase and stuff.

Speaker 3 (43:59):
You can't know your own luggage.

Speaker 2 (44:01):
Well, usually when you're checking in somewhere, you pull up
and they come out and get your stuff bringing in
with you.

Speaker 3 (44:06):
You're the George clan. You're you're the guy that pulls
up like people have been to a hotel, no red card.
I normally get my own stuff.

Speaker 2 (44:13):
You don't pull up and when the people stand out
there say come and that you want to get it
a nice place.

Speaker 5 (44:19):
I've never stayed in the place where they got luggage.

Speaker 17 (44:21):
Never.

Speaker 3 (44:21):
I've never either. I've never stayed at a place where
they come out and get stuff and white just I haven't. Wow, really,
it was dream range right there you go becau. Dad
would't let him get hit.

Speaker 2 (44:33):
So okay, there's life outside the Hampton in just so
y'all know, I mean, you always depend on that.

Speaker 3 (44:42):
But anyway, so as my go to look, I found good. Yeah,
look I see what y'all get paid. Y'all can go
beyond Hampton. And now we stayed at nice hotels. I
just I mean, I get my own luggage though. Yeah,
you've never pulled up and there's this, I know if
somebody tries to get my luggage, I'll go. I I
got like when y'all went to like I was thinking
about you bring a wheelchair out. I don't mean to

(45:07):
break it, y'all.

Speaker 2 (45:07):
There's actually a lot of places where there's people that
come out and get your luggage. You have never seen
the little thing where they come out and said put
it on here and they got water. That's right, well,
and that's why y'all don't do it. But I can't
carry it back. But anyway, I thought carry on or
there was no one like it was on a motorized card.
There was no there was no contact with any human.

(45:29):
I'm now I will say this. I'm checking in somewhere
where do you just go in the house shot this one?
So anyway, so I pull up that we go into
the front door on it and there's no one in there,
and all of a sudden it hits me, which y'all
all have already been saying. So I've never been to
a bed and breaks suddenly, suddenly it dawns on me.

(45:53):
It hits me pretty quick. We're just company. Okay, we're
coming over somebody's house. They just watching TV and doing
their own thing. We're company, and come on, eybuddy, we're relatives.
We're relatives coming to visit. And I mean, I'm like,
this is somebody's house. Hey, it makes a little water with.

Speaker 5 (46:11):
That, right, you're on vacation with strangers.

Speaker 3 (46:14):
And then it hits you like y'all said, Oh, I
don't have a hotel room. I have a room.

Speaker 2 (46:19):
You get a house like you like you shift in
the bed and the whole bad school. Like it's Christmas
and you got extended family coming over. You go, all right,
we got you set up in this room. Just like
in the movies, it's a gas room. Did you want
a gas room that you have.

Speaker 3 (46:30):
To sit around the table with strangers and eat breakfast?

Speaker 18 (46:32):
I did?

Speaker 2 (46:33):
Really At one point, other people are in the house.

Speaker 3 (46:38):
I mean, I understand in the hotel, you go down
for continental breakfast and you do eat around other people, but.

Speaker 5 (46:43):
Only it's the same table restaurant.

Speaker 3 (46:45):
Yeah, normally you're just spread out.

Speaker 2 (46:47):
No, no, no, no, there was an auction you could
sit at the same table somebody. But we would get
over to two Cedar, but in a very tiny room,
like we all ate in a room about the sights,
a little bit smaller.

Speaker 3 (46:58):
Than that room, and then red the room and discussed
what was opening.

Speaker 5 (47:02):
This does look nice there you go, yeah, looking Wow.

Speaker 3 (47:08):
That's scary. So you know, like that's mean, like he's mad.
I think his eyes walk with you and he moves.
By the way, who is that? Denzil?

Speaker 12 (47:17):
Greg?

Speaker 5 (47:18):
Greg? Is Greg Greg?

Speaker 19 (47:30):
What?

Speaker 6 (47:36):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (47:38):
Where you going?

Speaker 2 (47:39):
Oh gosh, Shell, come on man, Oh I'm trying to
thanking the guy's name.

Speaker 5 (47:46):
It's Frederick Douglas.

Speaker 3 (47:48):
Y'all didn't know either what I knew? What Denzil?

Speaker 7 (47:55):
That I knew?

Speaker 3 (47:56):
Okay? Did I.

Speaker 5 (47:59):
Knew that?

Speaker 3 (48:01):
You were sure?

Speaker 7 (48:02):
I did?

Speaker 2 (48:06):
Well, Frederick, Yeah, I actually thought it was all fairness.
I thought it was Samuel Jacks a lot of time. No,
it's it's Frederick Douglas, Okay, I said, of course I expected.

Speaker 3 (48:24):
This ghost to be all in there, lose my hand.
Here there are other people in the house, and Rick's
got a shirt on the rain.

Speaker 2 (48:31):
By the way, there's a big topic, so let me
answer this. Did you get a relationship and kind of
with the people that were also staying there. You would
see them enough to go, hey, how are y'all doing?

Speaker 3 (48:40):
You having a good time? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (48:41):
It did.

Speaker 3 (48:42):
Did you feel abrogated to ask them to go like on,
excourage you with you?

Speaker 6 (48:45):
No?

Speaker 2 (48:45):
I got myself immersing some people's lives that I went
in reluctantly. No, so I can live with that table
like that. But there's other people sitting right around me.
That's somebody taking a picture from there.

Speaker 3 (48:56):
Did you put your fork down taking picture of a
bedroom with the bathroom wrecked? Are you sure? Is there
one bathroom in the hall or all got like that?

Speaker 2 (49:04):
There's one downstairs, which I paid it. I paid a
visit to it one time. But now you're in there
and there's only one sink that's kind of out in
the room. Then there's a tiny little tilet room, and
then they had a bathtub slash shower that you could
tell they put in that old room.

Speaker 3 (49:18):
Did you open the bathroom door and a guy standing
there with his towel waiting his turn. No, okay, no,
nothing like that did someone. We are just company, but there, Well,
that's why no bed was squeaky. That's what I'm saying.
That's what I meant.

Speaker 2 (49:34):
Uncomfortable about this, uncomfortably squeaky. Oh it was an old
bed and that was nice.

Speaker 3 (49:39):
But it's sure.

Speaker 2 (49:44):
Got your w D.

Speaker 3 (49:48):
How to go along? Way to get here?

Speaker 2 (49:49):
I gotta w fo yeah, because you don't. You don't
want you beautiful wife to start saying Oh no, okay,
not as much prophecy as you want.

Speaker 3 (49:59):
You can't have that.

Speaker 5 (50:00):
No thin walls, thin floors.

Speaker 3 (50:03):
That's that's you know what. That sounds like a horror show.

Speaker 5 (50:07):
I got the ghost of Frederick Douglas firing around.

Speaker 3 (50:10):
Denzel's looking down.

Speaker 2 (50:11):
There, Cherry said. On Saturday morning, she goes. Everybody in
here's looking at us.

Speaker 3 (50:19):
That's great. I'm so uncomfortable with your weekends.

Speaker 1 (50:26):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. It's like eating lunch
at the cool table, the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 3 (50:46):
I've been a blast is always American.

Speaker 5 (50:49):
Thank you for being here with us today.

Speaker 7 (50:51):
Here we go.

Speaker 2 (50:54):
Well, you know, unlike maybe an old antique bed at
a Bed and Breakfast. Uh Helixsleep dot com slash Big
Box said, how about this. We'll make a bed exactly
the way you want it. No, no, no, no creaking here,
we make it just the way you want it. We
got a sleep quiz. We'd like to find out some
stuff about you. Caution, not a hassle. Greg evenfield it out.

Speaker 3 (51:17):
That's right to it. Hey nothing to it. He and
little Lee Lee slept on theirs last night. That's right.

Speaker 2 (51:23):
So if you'd like to get a customized mattress, they
sit straight to you, ship it to you for free.
You got one hundred nights to sleep in it. That's
one hundred to be sure that you love it what
you're going to They also want to know what kind
of mattress you want. Firm, soft, medium, something like that.
They got big and tall options. They got children's mattresses.
And if you just had that in the Bed and Breakfast, we'll,

(51:44):
oh my goodness for today. So Helixsleep dot com slash
Big Vox twenty five percent off if you use our
U r L. You also find that link of Rick
Burgess show dot com under sponsors so Bed and Breakfast.
I have I've never really done that before. So, like,
even on the breakfast, I realized it was an interesting

(52:07):
you know, because I'm trying to figure it out. So
they the host and they were wonderful people, wonderful people,
such such a kind family. I mean, like you see
some of their kids working.

Speaker 20 (52:19):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (52:19):
And she comes out and says, is this fill in
the blank okay for breakfast? But I don't have a menu,
So I'm thinking, could I say no?

Speaker 3 (52:30):
Or is this just the way? Is this just the
way they.

Speaker 2 (52:33):
Inform you this is what we're having for breakfast. Do
they have another option? Like would they say, how about
a croissant?

Speaker 3 (52:40):
I didn't know what to do with it?

Speaker 2 (52:41):
Yeah, pancakes. And I liked what they were making, so
I was fining it was absolutely delicious. But that was
a weird thing because I'm a customed I'm standing somewhere,
I go down there for breakfast. I got a menu, yeah,
or I got a buffet or something, not a bed
and breakfast to his luggage. Yeah, Well I realized no, no,
y'ave already said. I didn't realize that when you go
to a bed and breakfast your company, you're just showing out,
but you're sewing up to see somebody and they say,

(53:03):
here's the room you're in, and the beautiful room. You know,
let's face it, the craftsmanship of the you know. One
thing they told us about the property, and this is
just a little bit of serous sidebar here.

Speaker 3 (53:13):
Not serious, but interesting.

Speaker 2 (53:15):
They said that when they were refurbishing this place, it's
been around, like say, since James Madison lived there. Uh well,
he didn't live there, but this was part of his
greater property. It was a friend of his who actually
built that, built that, and his kids went there and
all this bit way. But they said, when we were
refurbishing everything, the stuff that was made before and up

(53:35):
to the Civil War was in great shape. Everything made
after the Civil War in the Industrial age was garbagee.

Speaker 3 (53:45):
They said.

Speaker 2 (53:45):
Up to the Industrial Age, boy, we built quality stuff.
But when it became let's get as much of it
out there as we possibly can make it as cheap
as you can. They said that stuff was just falling
part everywhere. But they said, Civil War back good quality stuff.
And you could see some of it. It was incredible.
By the way, if you want to go to small

(54:05):
town colonial Virginia and if you speedy who love barns,
it's barn heaven, is it? There are barns, beautiful barns everywhere,
even on the property.

Speaker 3 (54:15):
There was a beautiful barn. So you go in there
and look around.

Speaker 2 (54:18):
I did so, and if you add or you would
have just loved you and I both as handy people.
There was there was a work. There was a workshop
shop in that barn that the sun had. It had
every kind of till you can think of, and it
was set up so neat and so organized.

Speaker 3 (54:35):
A mind. I liked that part apparently, But.

Speaker 2 (54:38):
This is this little walking trails actually a four wheel trail.
Did you pretend you were handy to others? Well, they'd
start talking to me about the shop out in the barn,
and I say, ooh, that's something I want to see. Yeah,
and and the hey don't run around, and the husband
they're looking in he said, he said, so you like

(54:59):
to you like to workshop? I said, I love the
smell of good workshop. Let me go out there and
check that out.

Speaker 3 (55:04):
The smell.

Speaker 2 (55:05):
Don't need to fix anything, I said, what should I
be looking for?

Speaker 3 (55:07):
He goes, soon as you see the goats go left.

Speaker 2 (55:09):
So anyway, then there then there's the what are we
gonna do? While we're here, what's going to be our excursions?

Speaker 3 (55:17):
Hang out with people you don't know?

Speaker 2 (55:18):
And Mont said again, Mont Pilier, James Madison's home, by
the way, the author of the constitution.

Speaker 3 (55:28):
Pretty big deal.

Speaker 6 (55:29):
I heard of it.

Speaker 2 (55:30):
I knew, I knew I should have been paying attention
when the woman who's very very kind that runs the
bed and breakfast, the wife.

Speaker 5 (55:39):
Is this the house he slept in or is it
just one of the houses?

Speaker 3 (55:42):
No, that's the the house.

Speaker 5 (55:43):
We're all in there, slept in that house.

Speaker 2 (55:46):
Matter of fact, that's my window there on the left.

Speaker 3 (55:48):
Are you right?

Speaker 5 (55:51):
That's me?

Speaker 3 (55:52):
Is that your bed and breakfast? Smile? You got going cheesing,
isn't he?

Speaker 6 (55:57):
Yeah?

Speaker 21 (55:58):
So uh ge.

Speaker 2 (56:00):
So anyway, the property was absolutely beautiful, absolutely beautiful. So
it looks like so a lot of history. I was
concerned about, Haynes, I hang on, lie yeah, And Sherry
finally told me to stop talking about that, and she said,
you hang around with your brothers too much. Yeah right, so,
and of course Greg, there's the one.

Speaker 7 (56:17):
You like the most.

Speaker 3 (56:18):
But anyway, beautiful home, beautiful property, all of that.

Speaker 2 (56:23):
So so anyways, so much history, so much, I say,
Now I was wrong, but anyway, thanks Greg. So I
heard them say this, They said, now when you go
to Mount Mount Pillier, I think it's been Constitution day
we have we don't have actors there, we have scholars.

Speaker 3 (56:42):
And I thought that's the different.

Speaker 2 (56:45):
I didn't know that meant that they would not come
out of character at all. So on the property walking
around was James Madison. It's his place, Thomas Jefferson. They're
there all the time. No, I think they're there for
a certain day. James Monroe. That's the only threat. That's
the only different James Monroe. Uh, so we that guy

(57:07):
we encountered James Madison. Oh gracious, this is James Madison.

Speaker 3 (57:11):
Hey, what's the quarterback with the beard?

Speaker 7 (57:14):
Right?

Speaker 2 (57:14):
Yes, Fitzpatrick, James Madison would not come out of carrot.

Speaker 3 (57:19):
That's the guy that stayedn't care. Yeah, oh they all did,
but he.

Speaker 2 (57:22):
Really he thinks he's James Madison. And of course I
couldn't do anything with it, because I kept trying to
have a conversation outside of the time.

Speaker 3 (57:32):
You got a mirror that and you try to go
a hate serious business, and he wouldn't come out of it.

Speaker 2 (57:36):
And then all of a sudden, I'm sitting there, and
when he's interacting with us, all we put our phone,
and he goes, oh, what is that contraption?

Speaker 3 (57:42):
Oh, it's some type of mirror. I'm like, no, he no,
he did.

Speaker 11 (57:48):
What I.

Speaker 12 (57:51):
Said.

Speaker 3 (57:52):
I was like, you know what a phone? I was like, hey, buddy,
where are you a smart phone?

Speaker 7 (57:56):
Hey?

Speaker 3 (57:57):
How about this? Hey, Larry, you know this is a
far Okay, you're a good act. Come on there, Okay,
you have one. Yes? So do you think he's James
at home? I don't know how far at home with him?

Speaker 2 (58:10):
Well, when when we come back, I'm gonna I'm going
to tell you a couple of things you don't do
when you're touring this time frame of colonial Virginia because
there's a lot of things that were going on then
so that we all decided we needed to fix. But
in that time you had, you had free labor. Uh

(58:30):
and uh and of course you know, just you got
to be real careful when you get into all that,
because you know, people can be hyper sensitive, especially when
you're in Virginia, not missing up your Alabama, and so
a couple of things you don't want to do there
and and so well, uh, but Jay, and also I'm
gonna tell you I had an uncomfortable moment with James.

Speaker 3 (58:52):
Madison and.

Speaker 2 (58:56):
And and uh and I was also if I thought
by exaggerated something. Sherry tell me to stop whispering. Step out,
we believed step.

Speaker 3 (59:06):
Out right, just like thing hears in the bed breakfast.

Speaker 2 (59:11):
By the way, the Constitution is a big deal. I
found myself going all in and thanking James for the
work he put into it.

Speaker 3 (59:17):
So you said, okay, you're not Larry.

Speaker 2 (59:19):
I guess you're James didn't know he would take me
through the entire yeazu Land deats.

Speaker 1 (59:24):
But still, this is the Rick Burgess show. The people
who don't like this show you wouldn't like anyway, the
Rick Purchase show.

Speaker 2 (59:45):
Yes, that's more about them than the show. So just
move on, okay, all right, So wrapping up the trip
this weekend to beautiful colonial Virginia, beautiful beautiful land by
the way, Virginia, y'all surprised me how much corn y'all
y'allre I didn't know y'all grow.

Speaker 1 (01:00:01):
So much corn.

Speaker 2 (01:00:01):
A lot of corn, huh. I Digia Virginia and corn.
I never I saw a trement that's all been picked.
But I mean the cornfields with the you know, the
now the dried up stalks, lots of corn.

Speaker 3 (01:00:14):
I was shocked by that. Where I was, so, I
was in colonial colonial Virginia.

Speaker 2 (01:00:20):
You know those small towns still have the colonial style
houses and their little downtown areas. I mean just phenomenal
and great food, great great service, wonderful people. Uh they really,
they really, they really were very very nice people. Now
when I get into the you know, I'm kind of
Likeabull in the China shop. You know, throughout the years
of listening to my many trips, you know, sharing out,

(01:00:44):
we can't we just can't sing to stay out of
okward situations, and no matter how hard we try. And
so James Madison, the guy playing James Madison, who was
certain he was James wit what not, all of a sudden.

Speaker 5 (01:01:00):
His eyebrows aren't coming out of character either.

Speaker 3 (01:01:05):
One or two.

Speaker 2 (01:01:07):
How do you see out of that some caterpillars they've
got up on your head. Yeah, I realize he's hitting
on my wife, that James Madison. All of a sudden,
he's like, uh, well, uh, I'll tell you one thing.
If if you're in indication of what Alabama's like, I
need to spend more time there. I'm like, oh, but this,

(01:01:27):
Oh James James, the real James considered well, until he
married Dolly Madison, they referred to him as the ultimate bachelor. Okay,
maybe he's just being here, that's what they said. He
was very busy, very studious, which we'll get to in
a minute where I upset the gud. But anyway, so
I'm like, and then all of a sudden, he goes,
I find myself looking at your beauty and uh, you know,

(01:01:50):
being uh you know, really intrigued with your beauty. But
as I size up the man this year with you,
I realized I probably wouldn't fare very well. And I said,
you got that right, little guy, You got the right.

Speaker 3 (01:02:01):
Constitution?

Speaker 2 (01:02:02):
Should you be riding a constitution Browns?

Speaker 3 (01:02:05):
Right, Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 2 (01:02:06):
Uni, Everybody tell me how focused you were. You seem
to have a little who are you doing? You're playing
James Madison, not Bill Clinton?

Speaker 22 (01:02:14):
So uh.

Speaker 3 (01:02:16):
Hey, little Sherry, I like him shoes.

Speaker 2 (01:02:18):
So anyway, we we now begin to tour the facility, okay,
and it's it's James Madison's property and there's just you know,
a by the way, the DuPonts bought it. They said,
they messed it up and turned it into a pink
stucco and they had to go Once the DuPonts sold
it back, they had to go back and refurbish a
lot of things. Box catch, there's my beautiful wife, the

(01:02:40):
landscape there at the property, beautiful, beautiful property. But hey, Rick,
so anyway, you know, anytime you're in a group and
you're going back to the days of colonial America, it's uh,
be aware what you where, what everything is, Okay, uncomfortable

(01:03:00):
moments with a very nice black couple that uh where
they're touring as well, a little different expirits for them, Okay,
and uh, you have to keep that in mind. I
didn't know there's various little houses everywhere. Stepped into one
and said, hey, this thing is pretty cool. Uh and
then the woman says these are slave quarters.

Speaker 3 (01:03:21):
You referred to its cool?

Speaker 6 (01:03:23):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (01:03:23):
Well, I was kind of saying, what a cool little
camp house and everything. Man, today's turn in today's time.

Speaker 3 (01:03:29):
That's all.

Speaker 2 (01:03:30):
Hey, how about a heads up? And I said, oh, okay, well,
let's not think out loud all right. Then yeah, I said, well,
you know, yeah, just then I rambled around, but I
thought well, James Madison probably had nicer you know, facilities,
and maybe some other places, and then continuing in the
couple and I'm just rambling.

Speaker 3 (01:03:49):
So anyway, so hey, that's on me.

Speaker 2 (01:03:51):
So we uh so we go we go in and
uh we get up there and we're going through the
house and we get to James Madison's library, which estimated
that he had at any time three thousand or more books.
And it was where big moment in history. It was
where he was set down and put together what became
the Constitution.

Speaker 3 (01:04:12):
That's a big deal. They said. He stayed up there for.

Speaker 2 (01:04:13):
Like nine months. So anyway, okay, it's a pretty big deal. Yeah,
well you have to be careful because with the books
from real no, they said that unfortunately, there was a
fire and they lost most of them, but they went
and found replicas from others. Just say not, because when
they looked at his writings, they could see the books
he read, so they tried to go find duplicates of

(01:04:35):
the stuff that he was actually reading as best they could.

Speaker 3 (01:04:39):
So anyway, so.

Speaker 2 (01:04:40):
Our guide begins to look a bit of a lecture.
None of us think slavery was good, well, none of us.

Speaker 3 (01:04:47):
It was horrible.

Speaker 2 (01:04:47):
Would think there was a scar on the world, not
just our country, you know, because it was all over
the world.

Speaker 3 (01:04:52):
It's not. There's some places it's going on now. It's terrible,
but to go too far.

Speaker 2 (01:05:00):
So in course, this this one, this one really was
the like, hey, kid, you don't have to if you
think something, you don't have to say it.

Speaker 3 (01:05:07):
You know, I got time. Remember the time I got
my brother. Remember by the time I got.

Speaker 2 (01:05:10):
Into trouble with the Georgia Aquarium because I said that
the fact that we were that grouper, we had a
shortage of grouper and I said, ah, it's a step
out and the and the woman said excuse me. I said,
I don't think we're hurting on grouper.

Speaker 1 (01:05:23):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:05:24):
And you know, I got lectured a little bit about that.
Cherry said, don't you don't think if you think something.
We're just here to have a good time, man, you know,
and groups don't work out.

Speaker 23 (01:05:31):
No.

Speaker 2 (01:05:32):
So the woman says, well, Sheerry said something about James Madison.
She said, well, you know he didn't have to work,
and shears out, what do you mean he didn't have
to work? Well, because of all the free labor that
he had here that were taking care of the property,
so he didn't have to fool with all that. So
he didn't have to work, I said, other than writing

(01:05:53):
the constitution. Yeah, maybe he needed to free his time
up for that. Slavery's a bad thing, but I don't
think we're ready to, said James Madison.

Speaker 3 (01:06:00):
Didn't work.

Speaker 2 (01:06:02):
Any anybody think putting together constitution was was?

Speaker 21 (01:06:04):
Was work?

Speaker 2 (01:06:05):
I said, other than being up here for nine months
putting together constitution.

Speaker 3 (01:06:08):
Said Loud.

Speaker 2 (01:06:09):
I did with the men don't run in the rain, right,
I hope, So he didn't have to work. And I said,
other than writing the constitution?

Speaker 3 (01:06:18):
Man, silence? Did silence follow that? It did? How many seconds?

Speaker 2 (01:06:24):
And the woman looked at me like she wanted to
kill me? And I said, well, I'm just making that point.
I said, I understand what you're saying. And you know
it's no doubt they're not supposed to debate you on right,
I said, But I said the constitution big, I would
go as far as I said. The Constitution ultimately was
used to free people because we were being inconsistent with

(01:06:45):
what we claimed in there. So putting the constitution together
there was work. Probably a lot how many people were
standing there with you while you were at six.

Speaker 3 (01:06:56):
And how many were appauled that'd be that'd be five,
and you were the only one that wouldn't. Then we
go out, yeah, and then.

Speaker 2 (01:07:06):
Rather she goes why and I said, that's I'm sorry, honey,
that was a good point. She goes, it actually was
not a bad point. It just shouldn't have been made. Yeah, okay,
why do we care if this woman? Why are we
debating her? I said, you don't need to take it
too far, you know, you you can go and say that,
you know, we need to be thankful and how this

(01:07:28):
thing operated, and it did operate like a fine old machine,
and that the people who who did the work. We
can do all that, but don't say James Madison didn't work.
He didn't do He might not have done much labor,
but he did work.

Speaker 7 (01:07:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:07:42):
I mean, you make a good point. Since he put
together the Constitution, you could have kept that to you
so he could have I agree with you.

Speaker 5 (01:07:48):
Rigg said, I just don't think that's he took a
stand right, that was the right thing to do.

Speaker 2 (01:07:52):
Rick, Okay, Constitution did it just come together or did
it require a lot of work?

Speaker 3 (01:07:58):
Yes? Did you have anyone in the group that kind
of looked at you like, hey, that's a good point. Anyone.
No one was.

Speaker 2 (01:08:05):
No one had the courage like looking down at feet.
They were They were three other husbands who weren't going
to say anything. Yeah mm hmmm, actually two of them. Sorry,
because it was there was totally anything.

Speaker 3 (01:08:16):
They went back to the room. Men, men don't run
the ring guy he did, he had And when I
walked into the next room, and when they walked into the.

Speaker 2 (01:08:23):
Next room, even though I know we're supposed to be
living in the colonial times, they must have they must
have walkie talkies, because when I walked in the next room,
it's like the guy looked at me like that's him.

Speaker 3 (01:08:32):
Well, yeah, you stood out. Let me tell you that
stood out? What you stood out? So that's uh and uh,
you're easily recognizable. By the way. Also, if they've got replicaus,
what does he looked like? Well he has the men
that running the range. It's real big. If he rains,
he'll be the one walking. Hyeah, so everyone else running.

(01:08:55):
But no, I was.

Speaker 2 (01:08:56):
I looked and then don't say don't say that because
James Madison, let's face, it wasn't the most attractive man,
I didn't fear losing Sherry to him, but he.

Speaker 3 (01:09:06):
Did rute the Constitution, bragging that's just got a little
celebrity to him. He wrote the Constitution and went on
to be our I think, our fourth president.

Speaker 7 (01:09:16):
Uh so, but he he was.

Speaker 2 (01:09:21):
We went in and they had like replicas of everybody
that sat at the dining table, James, Monroe, Lafayette, Uh,
you know, some women and Dolly Madison. At the end,
it wasn't her. It was just a rep She made
some good cakes and uh. And it was like a
cartoon of them, you know. I mean they had them
like you would put him up like almost like mannequins

(01:09:42):
and uh.

Speaker 3 (01:09:43):
And then I had to I had to.

Speaker 2 (01:09:45):
Unfortunately they went down there and this right here at
the end of the day, it would have been Dolly Madison.
I looked at you and I said, oh, she's not
much of a looker. Again, I didn't take you about her,
and and a lot of personality. You can do better
than No, I don't think you.

Speaker 7 (01:10:03):
James.

Speaker 3 (01:10:03):
I think for him that was fantastic, and.

Speaker 5 (01:10:05):
She was a character, and she was quite a knock
on in history.

Speaker 2 (01:10:09):
And sure, you just can't help it, can't Sure he said,
if you bring up the snackcakes, we're doing.

Speaker 3 (01:10:16):
So when did you start making snackcakes? So we'll be
back on screen. Phone calls coming up, rnning for this.

Speaker 1 (01:10:26):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. I'm the most dangerous
ten minutes in radio. Unscreened phone calls get in now
by dialing one eight eight eight six, big Fox.

Speaker 2 (01:10:49):
The show has been smoking already. We're almost two hours in.
If you're missing him, it catch him archives. Now we
go to the people I know coming off the weekend,
sometimes you'll drag a little bit, but let's check in
with you. Of course, coming off the weekend, there's always
that wonder did the phones even work?

Speaker 3 (01:11:09):
Of course we've already found things again, the grimlins over
the weekend. I can't explain it.

Speaker 2 (01:11:15):
The number is eight eight eight, the number six, big Vox,
and there's always that wonder.

Speaker 3 (01:11:21):
There we go, thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:11:24):
The delay always caars me, but here here we go.
So we'll go rapid fire. You know, when you hear
the phone ringing, that means that you're in line, ready
to go. And then we'll move through the calls, you know,
you know, just screening them on the fly, which makes
it the most dangerous ten minutes in radio. But we
had a great weekend, all kind the side, beautiful, beautiful place,

(01:11:44):
great food, great hospitality, and much needed time together for
Sherry and me.

Speaker 3 (01:11:49):
So to the phones, we go, Hello, You're on the
Rick Burgess Show. On unscreen phone calls.

Speaker 24 (01:11:54):
Go ahead, good morning. I was looking at some stuff,
not some prophecies about Kim Clement, about the new est
wondering if you've.

Speaker 7 (01:12:06):
Touched on that.

Speaker 2 (01:12:08):
I didn't fully understand what you're saying. What did you say?
Is there a new movie, a new Estra movie? Is
that what you're saying?

Speaker 24 (01:12:17):
No, sir, there's a prophecy in twenty eleven, a prophecy,
yeah about Her name was Kim Clement, and she prophesies
a modern day Estra. And I'm just seeing a f
you've touched on that or looked into that.

Speaker 3 (01:12:33):
I haven't.

Speaker 2 (01:12:34):
A matter of fact, you're telling me that for the
very first time. I've never heard anything about that, So
I apologize. I'm just not knowledgeable about it or own it.
Also one thing though, talking about prophecy, you know tomorrow
is supposed to be the end of time. I heard
somebody I can't believe it was the newspaper I think
yesterday actually refer to his wife as the new.

Speaker 5 (01:12:54):
Estra that's what Erica Kirk is.

Speaker 10 (01:12:57):
People are saying that this prophecy, they believe it points
to Erica Kirk is what people are saying.

Speaker 5 (01:13:03):
This is the first time I heard.

Speaker 2 (01:13:05):
One of the anchors even say it easy or the reporters,
and I was very surprised.

Speaker 6 (01:13:10):
What.

Speaker 3 (01:13:10):
We'll get into it later.

Speaker 2 (01:13:11):
Okay, Rick Burgess Show, unscreen phone calls, go ahead, cr.

Speaker 3 (01:13:19):
I'll tell you what from it. That's the most task.
Never know, Kim Clements is a dude. Okay, I didn't
know that.

Speaker 6 (01:13:27):
You know.

Speaker 2 (01:13:27):
Let's face it, Kim may be one of the most
difficult gender bender names. And there's a lot out there,
but that may be the hardest one. Yeah, that's harder
than Dana to me. We continue, lines are opening up.
You can join us.

Speaker 3 (01:13:39):
Rick Burgess Show, unscreen phone calls.

Speaker 9 (01:13:41):
Go.

Speaker 7 (01:13:43):
Yes, sir.

Speaker 17 (01:13:43):
Uh you know the guys that talked about Trump want
to do the UFC ring outside the White House?

Speaker 3 (01:13:49):
Yeah or so?

Speaker 17 (01:13:52):
Yeah, So if you guys did a ringing outside of
the cdo with reoccurring guests? Uh oh, past guess, But
it's a whole rumble top until you think would be
the first one thrown out, and he.

Speaker 2 (01:14:06):
All right, now, Handedy thinks he would win. Handy thinks
he beat everybody. So don't take you off.

Speaker 3 (01:14:12):
Andy Andrews. All right, Andy made surprise. I love Andy,
but I don't know how he would do it.

Speaker 2 (01:14:20):
And he looks like he's just all peaceful guy rain Alliendo,
I don't think makes.

Speaker 21 (01:14:25):
It very long.

Speaker 3 (01:14:26):
I throw Greg. I'm just kidding. He still has that,
doesn't he does? I know it. I'm still bothered, but.

Speaker 5 (01:14:34):
Alive.

Speaker 2 (01:14:36):
You know, Greg is always the best at everybody be
a bringing that something's good, and so he can point
out that he.

Speaker 3 (01:14:41):
Didn't think so okay, that's his thing. That's what he love.

Speaker 2 (01:14:45):
So I think I don't. I don't think Andy would
fare very long. Bring it the So I'm trying to
think of all the guests we've had on he in
the history of the thirty one years you're talk about
all way back on Rick and Bubba. Have to be
because we've only been doing this.

Speaker 3 (01:15:02):
For nobody's meeting Jared Hudson. If it's current nobody, Wow, Jared,
he may take Andy and Richard Simmons beating it is
beating everybody he took. He's dead wall in this you
can be dead or alive.

Speaker 2 (01:15:18):
I think it would get down to the finals me
against Jared Hudson.

Speaker 5 (01:15:24):
And Richard Simmons.

Speaker 2 (01:15:25):
I don't know that guy played beff off of Back
to the Future. We had him and his name Greg.
You know you know who I beat to go against
Jared Hudson, A wolf I forgot. We continue. Rick Burgess
Show in stream phone calls.

Speaker 16 (01:15:39):
Go.

Speaker 22 (01:15:41):
Hey, I got you a good controversial topic here. Thanksgiving
food is very overrated when it comes to turkey and
dressing and ham.

Speaker 3 (01:15:51):
Oh now ham, I may drift with you turkey and dressing.
What do you the devil? I'll give you ham.

Speaker 2 (01:15:56):
I mean, my goodness, he's right, always so much dressing.

Speaker 5 (01:16:01):
Oh we're getting close.

Speaker 3 (01:16:03):
Oh yeah, is that?

Speaker 15 (01:16:05):
When?

Speaker 1 (01:16:06):
Is it here?

Speaker 2 (01:16:06):
One of those people like I wish we'd just have pizza,
but I like good old traditional Rick Burgess Show phone calls, go.

Speaker 3 (01:16:15):
Ahead, Hey, how you doing good?

Speaker 17 (01:16:19):
Good?

Speaker 3 (01:16:20):
All right? Damn, that's it. Okay. We didn't mention Kyl
Maynard text or set. That'd be lost him.

Speaker 2 (01:16:28):
Rick Burgess Show unscreen phone calls.

Speaker 3 (01:16:30):
Go ahead, Hey, what's up fellas? How are you all
fired up and ready? All right? I got one for
you guys. Last week. I'll talked about cookies this time.

Speaker 2 (01:16:40):
If you've got to go hit the drive through and
get ice cream, what is the top drive through ice
cream you get?

Speaker 24 (01:16:46):
Gotta be gotta be Reese's Cup Blizzard.

Speaker 3 (01:16:49):
I got to hear what you say. Okay, I'll go
with the fidge chocolate from Frosty from Wendy's. Yep, I
love a frosty. Uh you know what I'm about.

Speaker 2 (01:16:56):
I'm going with frozen custard from either Culvers or Freddy's.

Speaker 3 (01:16:59):
That's not bad. I love frozen.

Speaker 6 (01:17:02):
I love.

Speaker 2 (01:17:02):
That's all I've ever gotten there is frozen cushion. Never
had a hamburg the other day. It's good Frosty, I mean,
can you beat it? You can't beat frost But the
blizzard when they stick the spoon in and turn it
upside down, I'm impressed.

Speaker 3 (01:17:13):
Do you ever want the spoon to fall out?

Speaker 5 (01:17:14):
I'm impressed turn it up to I'm I gotta.

Speaker 2 (01:17:18):
I gotta tell you, I don't. I don't do what
can we count dairy queen in this?

Speaker 5 (01:17:21):
No blizzards? Yeah, that's ice cream?

Speaker 2 (01:17:25):
I look I like that old dip com dip.

Speaker 5 (01:17:30):
I love a dip Cock's good for kids.

Speaker 3 (01:17:34):
Remember when he would break apart?

Speaker 2 (01:17:35):
It's too massy. It's too massy by the way, fast.
What if Larry the patch Man got in the ring,
he wouldn't last really No, plus.

Speaker 3 (01:17:43):
He's got that bad leg.

Speaker 5 (01:17:44):
Yeah and back, I'm here to represent patches.

Speaker 3 (01:17:49):
We continue Rick Birders show on screen phone calls.

Speaker 25 (01:17:51):
Go ahead, Hey guys, quick question.

Speaker 26 (01:17:56):
Uh and since you guys are all foodies, I have
to know have you got ever had people from the
big box seats bringing anything that was not edible?

Speaker 3 (01:18:06):
Thanks for your call. No, let's never have no delicious.

Speaker 5 (01:18:11):
We've never had anything that we didn't want to eat.

Speaker 3 (01:18:15):
That's such an uncomfortable question. I think you know the answer.
We're so thankful that you would bring anything. Let's just
say this. The answer is yes. The batting percentage is
high though on good stuff. The answer is yes. We
think that when we popped the trunk that day and
they were super.

Speaker 2 (01:18:29):
All right, Okay, I didn't know where okay, devil to
exit trunk was a little was a temperature, but hey,
the love was there and all that matters all made
with love.

Speaker 3 (01:18:39):
How about this wonderful human beings.

Speaker 2 (01:18:41):
But let's face it, not everybody's food we should consume
just meeting you for the first time, right, shouldn't, but
we do so to answer your question, honestly, yes, there's
been food that we would not eat.

Speaker 3 (01:18:54):
I'm sorry, that's true.

Speaker 2 (01:18:55):
Yeah, it's just something I don't like. It could be that,
but there's been some that I just thought them hands
look a little grubby.

Speaker 7 (01:19:06):
Top of the hour, she.

Speaker 1 (01:19:09):
Asked a question, this is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 5 (01:19:20):
Thank god, John, It's time for the Rick Bergs Show.

Speaker 3 (01:19:35):
Broadcasting from the real World. Let's go America, brand new hour.
If you missed the first two, you've missed a lot.
I mean a lot.

Speaker 2 (01:19:43):
Go back and grab it in the podcast Dark Gives
or the YouTube archives. As you heard Speedy, Greg and
Adler all here the starting line up as we started
a brand new hour together. Even it real from the
real world.

Speaker 3 (01:20:00):
Somebody say, Bird, I'm read broadcasting from the real So
we have not covered the Charlie Kirk memorial service. Wow, amazing.

Speaker 2 (01:20:12):
We were traveling, I did not see any I saw
the very last of it once we got home.

Speaker 3 (01:20:18):
I've seen a lot of the highlights.

Speaker 2 (01:20:20):
We have these here really really powerful, powerful, powerful afternoon
and it went on like for what five hours or more.
So a couple of the highlights we have here today,
I think the one which if you're you know, if
you're part of if you're a follower of Christ, it

(01:20:40):
probably isn't as shocking to us as I'm sure it
was to the world, which, by the way, the way
we respond to these kind of things, I'm supposed to
be shocking to the world so that they can see
there's something there that has to be supernatural. And you
know when you attend see Adler. So when you when
you get to this moment with Erica Kirk, I think
this is one of those things that rattled a lot

(01:21:04):
of people because she begins to talk about the assassin
that took her husband's life and her desire to forgive him.
And so here is that moment from the memorial service,
that young man on.

Speaker 19 (01:21:23):
The cross, our Savior said, Father, forgive them, for they
not know what they do.

Speaker 27 (01:21:37):
That man, that young man, I forgive him.

Speaker 2 (01:22:14):
So when you when you hear something that powerful and
so unexpected, you know that that is that's the message
in the midst of suffering, is that nothing speaks louder.
They're from a person's point of view for the world
to be watching a follower of Jesus. And I know

(01:22:36):
there was some political things that got in there last
night that you know that's over here, But the the
fact that that people weren't shying away from the name Jesus,
like Greg told me they did. They weren't just saying
they weren't saying some obscure.

Speaker 3 (01:22:50):
God or in the higher power.

Speaker 2 (01:22:53):
Even even the anchors for Fox, Yeah, I mean, they
were bringing it, were always talking about Jesus. I've never
like I say, here's this guy's a civilian, he's not
elected official.

Speaker 3 (01:23:03):
And to have the every leader in our country there,
it was incredible.

Speaker 2 (01:23:07):
It really was so that but that moments like that
have deep impact because that's a moment where somebody can say,
I don't know that I could have responded that way,
and I'm here to tell you Erica Kirk couldn't either
without the power of the Holy Spirit. And she is
being obedient to and what she says. And I learned

(01:23:28):
this from Jesus. So that's incredible. So here's some other
things from her. Ten b Adler. You know, obviously we've
been talking about this a lot on the show. And
I hope that the platform that God allowed Charlie Kirk
and Erica to build with their obedience to him, that

(01:23:49):
maybe the message can be heard by even more people,
the call to the men of our country.

Speaker 3 (01:23:56):
And here is Erica Kirk with that challenge.

Speaker 19 (01:24:00):
To all the men watching around the world. Accept Charlie's
challenge and embrace true manhood. Be strong and courageous for
your families. Love your wives and lead them, Love your

(01:24:25):
children and protect them.

Speaker 27 (01:24:29):
Be the spiritual head.

Speaker 5 (01:24:32):
Of your home.

Speaker 19 (01:24:35):
But please be a leader worth following your wife. Your
wife is not your servant. Your wife is not your employee.

(01:24:58):
Your wife is not your slave. She is your helper.
You are not rivals. You are one flesh working together
for the glory of God.

Speaker 3 (01:25:16):
Powerful stuff. And then.

Speaker 2 (01:25:20):
And other people were also talking about the moment when
she talked about and ten A. This one's a little
bit lengthy, but I think we can get the gist
of it, her of challenging everyone about praying and getting
in the word of God.

Speaker 3 (01:25:35):
So here again is Erica Kirk Ray again.

Speaker 19 (01:25:38):
Read the Bible again, go to church next Sunday and
the Sunday after that, and break free from the temptations
and shackles of this world.

Speaker 27 (01:25:59):
Being a follower of Christ is not easy. It's not
supposed to be. Jesus said, if.

Speaker 19 (01:26:06):
Anyone would come after me, let him deny himself, take
up his cross and follow me.

Speaker 27 (01:26:15):
He said he would be persecuted. He said we would
be persecuted.

Speaker 19 (01:26:18):
And Charlie knew that unhappily carried his cross all the
way to the end. And I want all of you
to know, while Charlie died far too early, he was also.

Speaker 27 (01:26:35):
Ready to die. There was nothing nothing he was putting off.

Speaker 19 (01:26:42):
There was nothing that was too hard or too painful,
or nothing that he just felt like he didn't want
to do it.

Speaker 27 (01:26:51):
He left this world without regrets. He did one hundred
percent of what he could every day. But I want
you to know something.

Speaker 19 (01:27:04):
Charlie died with incomplete work, but not with unfinished business.

Speaker 2 (01:27:14):
So again, and then I think we can get one
more in before we go, Doctor Frank Turk. As I
say his name number six, I understand that that he
really did a great job presenting the gospel, as many did.
And we'll get to Rubio when we can't when we
come back. As far as politicians, everyone was telling me
that Marco Rubio presented the gospel very very clear. But

(01:27:37):
we can get doctor Frank Turik in. This is the
kind of stuff that was going on while the world
was watching. Here's here's a presentation of the gospel. I'm
not familiar with him.

Speaker 10 (01:27:46):
He was actually he was the guy that was in
the tent with Charlie when Charlie was shot. He is
the guy in the hat that people are saying like
he was supposedly signaling there was a big conspiracy around
this guy. This is a guy that has toured with
Charlie for years and years and he's.

Speaker 5 (01:28:02):
Always with him.

Speaker 10 (01:28:03):
There wasn't any conspiracy regarding this guy, which made me
sad that that was pinned on that guy for a
few days. Yeah, he was in the car on the
way to the hospital with Charlie and he had this
wonderful message.

Speaker 3 (01:28:13):
Like you said, right now, I want you to know
that Charlie right now is in heaven.

Speaker 28 (01:28:18):
Not because he was a great husband and father, Not
because he saved millions of kids out of darkness on
college campuses, not because he changed minds and chased votes
to save the country, Not because he sacrificed himself for

(01:28:39):
his savior.

Speaker 5 (01:28:41):
Charlie Kirk is in heaven because his.

Speaker 28 (01:28:43):
Savior sacrificed himself for Charlie Kirk.

Speaker 3 (01:28:50):
Amen. Amen.

Speaker 2 (01:28:52):
So yeah, it's Charlie Kirk is to be admired, but
he's not to be worshiped. And he was pointing you
to the own only one that was worthy of worship,
and that's Jesus, and he is our only hope. All
the rest of us are just beggars telling you where
the food is.

Speaker 3 (01:29:12):
We'll be right back. We have more to come from
the Memorial Service right after this.

Speaker 1 (01:29:18):
This is the Rick Burger's Show. This is what Trump

(01:29:39):
had in mind when he sought to make America greet
again the Rick Butcher's Show.

Speaker 2 (01:29:45):
Thank you for being with us, America. We've had a
blast already today. Now obviously a little more serious because
we're looking back at the Memorial Service yesterday, obviously a
big event. Need to kind of hashing out with you today.
I figure you do you want to talk about that
because it was so powerful. We've hit some of the highlights.

(01:30:05):
Now from a politician standpoint, Marco Rubio, again, I had
so many people. I'm looking forward to hearing this with
you for the first time. They said, he really did
a wonderful job of presenting clearly presenting the gospel. So
here is Marco Rubio from Charlie Kirk's memorial service.

Speaker 5 (01:30:26):
His deep belief.

Speaker 29 (01:30:29):
That we were all created, every single one of us,
before the beginning of time, by the hands of the
God of the universe and all powerful God, who loved
us and created us for the purpose of living with
him in eternity. But then sin entered the world and
separated us from our creator.

Speaker 20 (01:30:45):
And so God took on the form of a man
and came down and lived among us, and he suffered
like men, and he died like a man.

Speaker 23 (01:30:55):
But on the third day he rose unlike any mortal
man then, and to prove any doubters wrong, he.

Speaker 29 (01:31:06):
Ate with his disciples so they could see, and they
touched his wounds. He didn't rise as a ghost or
as a spirit, but his flesh. And then he rose
to the heaven. But he promised he would return, and
he will. And when he returns, because he took on
that death, because he carried that cross, we were free
from the sin that separated us from him.

Speaker 5 (01:31:25):
And when he returns, there will be a new heaven and.

Speaker 20 (01:31:28):
A new earth and we will all be together and
we are going to have a great reunion there again
with Charlie and all the people we love.

Speaker 5 (01:31:36):
Thank you with God bless you.

Speaker 3 (01:31:38):
Amen, So well done. JD.

Speaker 2 (01:31:43):
Vance also had some great moments video number nine. First
talking about you know that throughout our you know, as
long as we've been in country. This is more on
the you know, patriotic side, that is, it is better,
you know, to lose your life standing up for the

(01:32:03):
ability for people to express themselves freely, which would include
our faith. And so here he is talking about that.

Speaker 30 (01:32:11):
Charlie suffered a terrible fate. My friends, we all know it,
we all saw it, but think it is not the
worst fate. It is better to face a gunman than
to live your life afraid.

Speaker 5 (01:32:26):
To speak the truth.

Speaker 30 (01:32:37):
It is better to be persecuted for your faith than
to deny the kingship of Christ a man. It is
better to die a young man in this world than
to sell your soul for an easy life with no purpose,
no risk, no love, and no truth.

Speaker 3 (01:33:01):
Amen. As we said, the goal is impact, not longevity.
So do you want to do the other? JD. Evans
one two.

Speaker 2 (01:33:07):
This is him talking about the impact of Charlie's death
on people discussing Jesus, and we've seen lots of you
tell us this is going on at your workplace as well.

Speaker 3 (01:33:17):
Here's JD Events talking about that.

Speaker 30 (01:33:19):
A little uncomfortable talking about my faith in public.

Speaker 5 (01:33:22):
As much as I loved the Lord and as much as.

Speaker 30 (01:33:25):
It was an important part of my life, I have
talked more about Jesus Christ in the past two weeks
than I have my entire time in public life.

Speaker 2 (01:33:36):
By the way, that's more and more people saying that,
which again you see God working through this. Jesus, as
they've all said, told us that difficulty will come from
the world if you decide to follow him.

Speaker 3 (01:33:49):
He didn't.

Speaker 2 (01:33:50):
He didn't leave us in the dark on that, and
then you have some kind of surprising things.

Speaker 3 (01:33:54):
Video twelve.

Speaker 2 (01:33:55):
Van Jones getting emotional because he discovered a direct message
from Charlie Kirk after he was assassinated. So here's Van
Jones talking.

Speaker 3 (01:34:05):
About that line up.

Speaker 31 (01:34:06):
The suspect is that black man and Charlie Kirk and
Van got into a public sparring match online. Kirk claimed
the murder happened because she was white. Van denounced that
it is completely unfounded. Kirk then sent out wood Van
calls a fire hose of tweets challenging Here's Anderson.

Speaker 10 (01:34:21):
Cooper recapping the beef between Van Jones and here's a
van now to talk about that.

Speaker 5 (01:34:28):
So they were beefing online.

Speaker 10 (01:34:29):
Van Jones then discovers a DM from Kirk the day
after he was killed tonight.

Speaker 3 (01:34:34):
I mean, this is extraordinary.

Speaker 1 (01:34:35):
So this was received the day before he was killed.

Speaker 32 (01:34:38):
Yeah, look, I mean we were beefing. We were going
at it online on air, and then after he died,
that's was murdered.

Speaker 1 (01:34:49):
My team. Colltin said, then he was trying to reach
you man. What and what was he doing?

Speaker 5 (01:34:58):
Dialogue?

Speaker 32 (01:35:00):
Let's be gentlemen together, he says, let's disagree agreeably. So
I'm sitting on this and I'm watching the whole country
talk about civil war censorship, justifying murder about this guy.
This guy is reaching out to his mortal enemy, saying

(01:35:22):
we need to be gentlemen, sit down together and disagree agreeably.
And the next day he's killed. And I've sat on
it long enough and I just said, you know what,
we're going to Memorial weekend for this man. We disagree.
Everybody knows we were not friends, okay at all. But
you praise the good when it's time to moralize somebody.

(01:35:44):
And what he did and I didn't even know it
was good. He was not for censorship, he was not
for civil war. He was not for violence.

Speaker 1 (01:35:52):
He was for dialogue, open debate, and dialogue even with me.

Speaker 3 (01:35:58):
Well there you go.

Speaker 2 (01:35:59):
And then of course you have the bad side of
things with Omar. How do you shay your name Ihan Omar? Yeah, yes,
unbelievably tone deaf. No need to say this, but she does.
And we need to understand how dangerous this person is.
But here's her comments on Charlie Kirk, and hopefully America

(01:36:21):
will remember this.

Speaker 16 (01:36:22):
Fine jarring is that there are so many people willing
to excuse the most reprehensible things that he said, that
they agree with, that that they're willing to have monuments
for him, that they want to create a day to
honor him, and that they want to produce resolutions in
the House of Congress honoring his life and legacy. It

(01:36:46):
is one thing to care about his life, because obviously
so many people loved him, including his children and wife.
But I am not going to sit here and be
judged for not one to honor any legacy this man
has left behind that should be in the dust pen
of history, and we should hopefully move on and forget

(01:37:09):
the hate that he spewed every single day.

Speaker 5 (01:37:12):
Should so, man, that's what you're doing right now. You're
spewing hate, is what you're doing.

Speaker 2 (01:37:17):
And as usual, those who say these things about Charlie
Kirk never give you an example. No, you never get
an example. Now, No, they just say it, which the rhetoric,
and they're hoping you won't research it. As we've noticed,
sometimes people just say things hoping.

Speaker 3 (01:37:32):
You'll never fact check them.

Speaker 2 (01:37:34):
But I mean, that'd been a nice place to maybe
play a few cuts to see why you think you
should be honored, you know, by America.

Speaker 3 (01:37:41):
And but she doesn't.

Speaker 2 (01:37:43):
She just and really a lot of things that she
thinks are hate. A lot of people might think, well, no,
we just call that true. Yeah, so, but she said it,
so you know, hopefully we'll remember that as well.

Speaker 3 (01:37:57):
We'll be right back.

Speaker 1 (01:38:00):
Is the rick Burgers Show. In a world that has
gone nuts, they are here too well to point it up.
The rick Burgers Show.

Speaker 2 (01:38:20):
Here we go America, walking through another day, another week together.
We're so thankful you're here those of you out.

Speaker 3 (01:38:26):
There that are trying to do just a little bit bettery.

Speaker 2 (01:38:31):
So but you're you know, you're thinking, you know, this
whole world, I mean, I mean it seems like that
the medical field right now, there's just obsessed with shots.
It's like I had an alert on my phone yesterday,
health alert. I thought, oh know, something's happened. I don't know,
something's happened, health alert. I thought, my goodness, something's happened.

Speaker 3 (01:38:50):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (01:38:50):
And all it was was trying to get me to
come take the flu shot. And I'm like, yeah, you know, though,
flu shot. I'm sure it's right. I'm privately taking I
usually it's up to whoeveryone's but I'm a health alert.

Speaker 3 (01:39:01):
No, it's not a health alert. I'll do it if
I'm happy to be at the dark. Yeah, I go.
Would you like, yeah, yeah, go ahead?

Speaker 2 (01:39:06):
Well I mean can they can they get the strand
right just once?

Speaker 3 (01:39:10):
I mean that'd be nice. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:39:11):
So anyway, So, but but even on in the weight
loss world, you know, here's another shot. Uh, some of
you may be like, I don't think so. I don't
want to go down that road. And for those of
you that made that decision. That's totally your decision. And
if it's working for you, man, I'm glad. But a
lot of people are like, that's not for me. Weight
cycling is terribly dangerous. Put on weight, take it off,

(01:39:33):
put on weight, take it off. Fad dit off, stop
the fat, stop and stop the stop the fad dit
back on. Oh, even more back on. Uh, that's not
that's not good for us.

Speaker 3 (01:39:42):
I've done it. It's not good.

Speaker 2 (01:39:44):
And so now there's an option that is all natural
that can help you with appetite, it can help you
with blood sugar, it can help you with energy. Uh.
And it's called tate Lean dot com from our friends
at Brickhouse Nutrition. They're the ones that gave us Field
of Greens, which I love and take every day. So
tate Lean dot com is your ticket to success. Naturally,

(01:40:05):
Go to Tatelan dot com, use the code big vox
get twenty percent off, or find that link at Rick
burgesshow dot com under the sponsors.

Speaker 3 (01:40:13):
But so then came the nervous moment last night, and
there were a few like the president.

Speaker 2 (01:40:23):
Look, let me tell you, we're all we're all very
very thankful that Donald Trump is the president. Some of
you may not agree with us, glad he got a
second term, loved the job he's doing, certainly voted for him,
and glad he won. But when you're at a memorial
service and the Gospels being presented, praising worship is going on,

(01:40:43):
and you see him walking to the mic, you're like,
oh boy, political rallies, one thing, political rally, one thing,
a oh boy, And so we were all just I
thought speedy was just going to just turn into much
Well you've had it's because I had joined them service.
Now of course I get there just in time for this.
Where's you get the chief of staff?

Speaker 3 (01:41:04):
He wouldn't. Yeah, yeah, the chief.

Speaker 2 (01:41:09):
Bringing He was the worst I heard him, and I
thought his presentation was terrible. It had some really bad theology.
I don't want to say that Charlie Kirk is going
to cause people to rise like a dragon. I was like,
oh my gosh, what a terrible choice of words. And

(01:41:29):
his was a little more, you know, some political revolution,
which certainly fine, but it's not going to.

Speaker 3 (01:41:35):
Solve the problems of the world.

Speaker 2 (01:41:37):
You can't fight spiritual battles, you know, with secular weapons.
But so unfortunately that's the first thing I heard when
I was driving and I thought, oh, please tell me.

Speaker 3 (01:41:48):
That that's it's better than this, And of course it
was much better. So anyway, so in all that leading up,
you had the praise and worship, he says, such a
powerful day, and then you had things that we've played already,
stuff we were and so then you have all that
and then leading up to the president. Trump is the
final speaker.

Speaker 2 (01:42:07):
So y'all alerted me that Trump was on his way
to the mic, and I was like, please, please, please,
please please please stay with the telepropram. Do you see
my message? I said, get ready for anything. Yeah, please
please please stay with the teleprompter.

Speaker 10 (01:42:20):
I understand why he had to close it out because
he's the President of the United States, But.

Speaker 5 (01:42:26):
Erica Kirk and.

Speaker 2 (01:42:30):
Right there, right, there's a good place to end it.
It's a good place to end it. So anyway, here
he comes and at one point turned into the State
of the Union. But I'm but but this is the line. Uh,
this is this is classic Trump.

Speaker 6 (01:42:45):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:42:45):
So here he is uh memorializing a man who said,
forgive your enemies, uh not to wish you know, hell
on anyone. Basically, I hope that all come to redemption.

Speaker 6 (01:42:59):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:43:00):
And here's what Trump said. That's where he and Charlie
disagreed a little bit.

Speaker 33 (01:43:03):
So here we go, missionary with a noble spirit and
a great, great purpose.

Speaker 5 (01:43:09):
He did not hate his opponents.

Speaker 33 (01:43:11):
He wanted.

Speaker 3 (01:43:13):
The best for them.

Speaker 33 (01:43:14):
That's where I disagreed with Charlie. I hate my opponent
and I don't want the best for them. I'm sorry.
I am sorry Erica. But now Erica can talk to
me and the whole group and maybe they can convince
me that that's not right.

Speaker 3 (01:43:30):
But I can't stand my opponent. Guys, guys, I wish
I was angry looking that he's angry at me, that
Charlie you know, did that and I'm really working on
that or something like I think you could. Well anytime
he looks away from that teleprompter, I was.

Speaker 10 (01:43:48):
Like, oh no, and he's riffing, oh no, yeah, And
he's freestyling it and he's going off the rails and
talking about the crime in Chicago.

Speaker 2 (01:43:56):
For a very long time and Washington d C has
cleaned it up. Yes, And how they're curing autism yeah yeah, yeah,
announcement with autism today. I didn't know r F K
Junior spoke. Okay, you know it's a serious subject and
he was doing and because he can't help, he talks
that way, and that's something for you need to know.

(01:44:18):
But okay, again, maybe these aren't maybe a quick snippet,
but this really is he struggling, and physically he was struggling,
which made me struggle.

Speaker 5 (01:44:30):
Of course, this was kind of the pinnacle of his speech.
If you wanted, oh boy, no, no, well, okay, this
is he gets emotional here.

Speaker 6 (01:44:39):
R F.

Speaker 3 (01:44:40):
I couldn't tell we were talking about the print.

Speaker 5 (01:44:43):
Okay, Greg, Greg, we can't. We can't play the clip
right after. I cann't tell.

Speaker 3 (01:44:51):
Look, we can't do that what you've done. Speed, I'm
going to leave the room. If we make fun of this,
I'm not making fun of it. Okay, all right, I promise.

Speaker 34 (01:45:00):
We were talking about the risks that all of us
take when we challenge and Trend's interest, the physical risk.
And he asked me if I was scared of dying,
and I said to him, there's a lot worse things
than death, and one of those things is if we
lost our constitutional rights in this country and that our
children were raised as slaves.

Speaker 3 (01:45:21):
And are you sure going to go on?

Speaker 5 (01:45:27):
He's emotional here, hurt.

Speaker 34 (01:45:29):
I said to Charlie, I said, sometimes the best consolation
we can hope for is that we get to die
with our boots on. Well, Charlie died with his boots on,
and he died to make sure that we didn't have
to undergo those fates that are worse than death. Oh,

(01:45:51):
let's remember Charlie. He was for those of us who
were friends with Charlie, we don't need any more evidence
of the love of God, because the evidence of friendship
is the best evidence that God loves us all.

Speaker 3 (01:46:10):
Thank you and God bless you. And he of all people,
you know, his father was assassinating you know, can relate. Yeah,
look at you great. Look I'm like that was a
very serious thing. I'm like, okay, maybe I've had a
little fun with him.

Speaker 2 (01:46:27):
You could tell him, I tell you for him, that
is it has to take a lot out of you
when you do a long space like that.

Speaker 3 (01:46:33):
Just stay right there. So and like I said, he
lived it.

Speaker 11 (01:46:39):
So.

Speaker 3 (01:46:40):
Yes, I wonder how old he was his father. We've
looked that up before and I don't know. I can't remember.
There was in shape that there was some some I think,
some lighthearted moments. I know on a very serious day he.

Speaker 5 (01:46:58):
Was for he was fourteen years old.

Speaker 3 (01:47:00):
Oh wow, that's tough. And and and cut seven Don
Junior did. He impersonated his dad about how he can
get on social media and get to go on and
then his dad will call him and say, hey, you
need to you need to calm down a little bit.
And he did his day. Yeah, he did his dad, boy,

(01:47:20):
and his dad was watching him from the from up top.
And this is it's a pretty funny moment.

Speaker 35 (01:47:24):
So here you've seen me on social media, knows I'm
far more likely to crack a joke or get myself
in trouble for posting some grossly inappropriate memes than I
am to shed a tear. I know this because I've
even gotten the call from that guy a couple of times.

Speaker 18 (01:47:42):
You know, done done, Okay, you're getting a little aggressive
and social media done Relax, guys.

Speaker 3 (01:48:00):
Way, For some reason, Dana White is there. He's always there.
It's always by weird.

Speaker 2 (01:48:07):
I've heard Dana White be be interviewed and you don't
want to give him the mic at a memorial service.

Speaker 3 (01:48:12):
In the book's got he's got a mouth on him.

Speaker 2 (01:48:15):
Yeah, but you can tell when Donald Trump the President
is speaking. It reminds me of you remember when Tom
Cruise's character said that Jack Nicholson's character wants to tell
us he did it. He wants to tell us Donald
Trump wants off that teleprompter.

Speaker 3 (01:48:31):
He wants to riff. He wants to riff so bad.

Speaker 6 (01:48:33):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (01:48:33):
Yeah, you know you can tell he's comfortable when he
starts ripping, and then the teleprompter he feels like it's
holding him back.

Speaker 1 (01:48:38):
Yeah, this is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 6 (01:48:50):
No.

Speaker 1 (01:48:51):
The most dangerous ten minutes. Illegal unscreened phone calls get
in though by dialing one eight eight eight six, Big Fox,
thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:49:04):
For being with us America. Unscreen phone calls here they come. Uh,
the lines are now open for you while you're while
you're dialing that up and we here are your comments
now whatever you want to talk about? Adler a couple more. Uh.
The Elon Musk thing was big from last night to

(01:49:24):
Let's start with four A when Elon Musk, which many
people say he and Trump may have made up last night,
was asked why Charlie Kirk was murdered?

Speaker 3 (01:49:33):
He here's that clip.

Speaker 27 (01:49:35):
Why was he killed?

Speaker 5 (01:49:40):
He was he was killed because his woods made a difference.

Speaker 3 (01:49:44):
Because he was showing people the like and he was
killed by the dark. There you go that.

Speaker 2 (01:49:53):
That's uh, that's really well put, well said, and lizard
men know Greg.

Speaker 3 (01:49:57):
So he's picked up. But we were looking for the
lizard man. You've done it. You really had gone far
in the lizard Man's boat.

Speaker 2 (01:50:04):
So and then there was some shots to show him
right here, there were shots of Elon sitting with Trump.
Many said, this is one thing that Charlie Kirk kept
encouraging both of them to do. There seems to be
some evidence of that. So we'll see.

Speaker 5 (01:50:18):
I've actually got Charlie Kirk a clip of Charlie Kirk
predicting that they would make up. Oh really, yeah, yeah,
if you want that real quick.

Speaker 3 (01:50:27):
How long is it?

Speaker 5 (01:50:28):
It's it's thirty seconds.

Speaker 3 (01:50:29):
Okay. Yeah.

Speaker 11 (01:50:32):
It's been hard to watch today. And then fortunate in
some regards, and I love your take, which is both
of these men deserve great credit for their contributions to
help save civilization. Elon Musk bought Twitter, which of course
became x a couple of years ago, which liberated speech,
and then of course President Trump built the most amazing
political movement we've ever seen. He was shot almost shot again,

(01:50:55):
he was impeached twice, he was facing seven hundred years
in federal prison, and he was so clear about not
surrendering and not backing down and not giving up. I
will say it's a it's a tough thing to watch
this public feud. I actually think they're going to reconcile
at some point though, because deep down I would like
to believe they both want the same thing.

Speaker 2 (01:51:16):
There you go, all right, well, hopefully that is happening.
Onscreen phone calls, you're on the Rick Birder Show.

Speaker 36 (01:51:22):
Go ahead, morning fellas. How y'all doing.

Speaker 3 (01:51:24):
We're doing great.

Speaker 7 (01:51:25):
Hope you're will yes, sir.

Speaker 36 (01:51:27):
On the way to work, I got a funny story
about whenever I used to work at Freddy's over until
the City real quick.

Speaker 3 (01:51:32):
Yeah, sure.

Speaker 36 (01:51:34):
So there was one night we were you know how
they had the hot dogs there. Yeah, Well we ran
out of buns and it was just me on duty,
and so after a good old redten expression, and I
gave him some white bread and it ended up on
Facebook because I came home and my dad was like, hey,
is this you? And he showed me a Facebook post
of somebody that posted it.

Speaker 3 (01:51:55):
Look, man, when you didn't have buns.

Speaker 2 (01:51:57):
Mama brought out that white bread on a hamburg For sure,
you went at that's the way to be thinking.

Speaker 3 (01:52:03):
They should have been thankful for you. They need to
put that on the menu. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:52:06):
Rick Bergers Show unscreen phone calls.

Speaker 5 (01:52:09):
Go good morning, fellas.

Speaker 3 (01:52:12):
Hello, Hi, can you hear me sure loud and clear.

Speaker 7 (01:52:17):
I'm calling from Clarksville, Tennessee.

Speaker 3 (01:52:19):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 7 (01:52:20):
Yeah, Rick, I've been listening to you.

Speaker 5 (01:52:23):
Since Q and O four wow, way back.

Speaker 3 (01:52:25):
Thank you very much.

Speaker 22 (01:52:27):
Yes, sir, I just wanted to call say I love
the show.

Speaker 21 (01:52:30):
I love the old show too, of course, and I
love what you guys are doing.

Speaker 2 (01:52:34):
Thank you, Thank you. That's very nice for you to
say that. I always get a little shit. I want
to hear of Clarksville because that's the time we've gotten
a storm in the plane.

Speaker 3 (01:52:43):
But thank you for that.

Speaker 2 (01:52:43):
That's very kind. We continue Rick Burgers Show on screen
phone calls go ahead.

Speaker 12 (01:52:50):
Yes, if you spoke about this, I do apologize. I
was wanting no opinion on the Auburn game.

Speaker 2 (01:52:57):
We we did talk about that early. I didn't see
it live, Greg, you did, I did. I missed a
good bit of it. We were having birthday for Lisa
with the grandkids, but I got to see most of it. Yeah,
I think what we say on that is always we
try to talk about things that are not deniable or
up for debate. The SEC has come out and said
that the officials should have deemed the play one of

(01:53:19):
the plays Oklahoma scored on as illegal since they talked
about it apparently a lot in the off season and
then didn't prepare themselves for it. I guess, yeah, so,
and then so that when we know the fumble, I've
seen the replay. I don't understand how if the play
on the field was called a fumble, how that got overturned.

(01:53:42):
That was when Auburn's touchdowns. But at the end of
it all, every game is full of these things, and
you have to put together a plan and you got
to play well enough that those kind of things, you know,
because you don't know if if if you you know
when once you start changing how the game went, you know,
how does everybody approach their offensive scheme, how's everybody approach

(01:54:03):
the defense? All that changes, especially touchdowns that were early
in the game. So you know, ultimately those are things
you have to be able to overcome too. And you know,
you you can't let the quarterback get sacked ten times.
Then those then those things can cost you the game, right,
you know those other things.

Speaker 5 (01:54:20):
Yeah, all this freeze frame of this no call on
pass interference.

Speaker 3 (01:54:23):
Yeah, I did see that.

Speaker 5 (01:54:27):
I mean he's wrapped up, He's got the guy wrapped up.

Speaker 3 (01:54:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:54:30):
Yeah, Well the officiating, but you got to overcome that.
From what I've seen the games I've watched, Uh, the
officiating just as a whole, no advantage from one team
or another. I don't think they come out there to
try to cheat. I just it just didn't seem like
they're doing a very good job.

Speaker 3 (01:54:46):
Nobody's dishonestly, I'm just not great.

Speaker 2 (01:54:48):
If you if you lecture coaches in the off season
about these plays of deceit and then one is done
right in front of you and you don't call it,
that is that's just not getting the job done. Yeah,
but you can't use those things for excuses. You got
for it was still a one touchdown game and Auburn
had chances to win it and they didn't do it,

(01:55:10):
So you got to give Oklahoma the credit.

Speaker 3 (01:55:12):
But yeah, so we did see some of that. The
worst in history will be the Colorado fifth Down. Yes,
that will always be. You'll never talk that. Rick Burgers Show,
unscreen phone calls, Go ahead, Yeah, I can't talk to.

Speaker 6 (01:55:25):
The old Freddish story.

Speaker 17 (01:55:27):
But did y'all know McDonald's brought us that rep.

Speaker 2 (01:55:29):
But yeah, yeah, we did that story while by Rick
Burger Show, unscreen phone calls, Go ahead.

Speaker 12 (01:55:35):
Not a bad loss that Hey, this is Wendy for Mobil.

Speaker 3 (01:55:39):
Hey, Wendy, Hey, I just wanted.

Speaker 12 (01:55:42):
To thank you when he's giving your plans for upcoming
and where you go, and you always say God will
lay in it. And that is a reminder for me
to appreciate this day and make it count for God.
So yeah, time you say that, know that people are here.

Speaker 3 (01:56:01):
Well, I learned that from Jesus.

Speaker 6 (01:56:02):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:56:03):
He instructed me to be very careful with my future
plans because I'm not promised the next moment, so I
need to say, Lord willing, I'll do that, or I
won't do that, and you know, it's kind of stuck.
And you know, I'm always thinking that way because as
his disciple, he told me to think that way.

Speaker 3 (01:56:19):
So thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:56:20):
Uh, let's go to uh, let's continue. Rick Burgess Show
on screen phone calls go ahead.

Speaker 6 (01:56:26):
Gregorio you what is your what is your thoughts on
the new spinal tap movies. I like to hear them.

Speaker 3 (01:56:33):
I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Speaker 16 (01:56:35):
Have it?

Speaker 3 (01:56:35):
Is it out yet? That's a good question.

Speaker 19 (01:56:37):
Is it?

Speaker 5 (01:56:38):
Is it against October?

Speaker 3 (01:56:40):
October? I will definitely watch it because I love the
first one, no doubt. By the way, do I think
it's going to live up to it? Probably not, as
you go by history. By the way, the oh it's out?
Is it already? Okay?

Speaker 5 (01:56:53):
I guess it was already released.

Speaker 3 (01:56:56):
I'm not going to you. Why would you go to
a theater.

Speaker 1 (01:57:00):
I ain't going to an eater.

Speaker 2 (01:57:01):
It'll be, by the way, the text nation All Oklahoma
fans said they thought the officials were phenomenal.

Speaker 3 (01:57:08):
They said, I've never seen a better game, but extremely
well done.

Speaker 2 (01:57:12):
I don't want you no matter what they say. We
must have got the best officials out there, that's right,
and we.

Speaker 3 (01:57:17):
Hope we get them. We hope we get them. We
got a big weekend of college football this weekend. I
mean a big one. Definitely some really upset fans on Sunday.
Oh we have one way or the other.

Speaker 5 (01:57:29):
Top of the hour.

Speaker 3 (01:57:30):
Thanks for being with us.

Speaker 2 (01:57:31):

Speaker 2 (01:57:40):
If you're sticking with us, They'll hang around Lord Willing,
We'll be back.

Speaker 1 (01:57:43):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 14 (01:58:01):
You know, I say, assignation. We gotta find.

Speaker 1 (01:58:13):
Broadcasting from the world, the Rich Burgess Show.

Speaker 3 (01:58:18):
Let's go America, keeping it real as we move forward.
The gang all here today, Speedy, Gregg and Adler. Thanks
you for being with us as we unpack another day.
And we've had a lot already. As I mentioned, grab that.

Speaker 2 (01:58:34):
If you didn't grab it, so with us as it
was happening todays, so if you just joined us too.
We have talked about the memorial service for Charlie Kirk
last hour, we recapped some weekend earlier in the program.
We've hit some unscreen phone calls, a little bit of
hay birge. Did I did have one that before we

(01:58:57):
move off of some of the stuff we talked about.
But the last hour, this is a hay bird that
I saved. So after we talked about the memorial service,
and this comes from someone that is part of Tube
City out there says while Charlie's pastor, who by the way,
people said that we didn't mention, but I don't understand
this did happen, which is great. While Charlie's pastor preached

(01:59:20):
and gave an imitation for people to come to faith
in Christ, MSNBC was discussing Trump's pressures on Pam Bondy
to attack his rivals. Rebecca Dunn spoke at the memorial service,
and MSNBC was talking about how Trump was underwater on
a number of issues. Doctor Larry Arne told a story
about Kirk and gave him an honorary degree, and NBC

(01:59:41):
was talking about the Palestinian conflict. Mikey McCoy gave a
tribute while well, you get the idea. I give partial
credit to CNN for showing the memorial service, but I
noticed that may not have shown parts like when God, Jesus.

Speaker 3 (01:59:56):
In the Holy Spirit was being praised. I don't know
whether they did or not.

Speaker 2 (01:59:59):
Anyway, that God's message was spread in this time of
tragedy as it usually is, so they were noticing what
was being covered, why the things were happening.

Speaker 3 (02:00:08):
That's pretty funny.

Speaker 2 (02:00:09):
Now to get to the much lighter and we've hit
a lot of very light stuff today as well, headline.
And this was sent to me by one of our listeners.
And this is Florence, South Carolina. Courtesy of forty eight
w AFF headline. Teaching assistant charged after allegedly using poop

(02:00:33):
spray at high school. Now this must be the worst
fart spray ever. A teaching assistant has been arrested, arrested
and you can't be arrested after authorities say he used
a poop spray to create a foul odor at a
South Carolina high school. His name is Alexander Lewis, a

(02:00:54):
thirty two year old teaching What a Cool teacher assistant
West Florence High School. He allegedly sprayed an odor designed
to imitate you know what it imitates, you got that.

Speaker 3 (02:01:07):
Morning breeze while he school.

Speaker 2 (02:01:09):
While at school multiple times, ug greg he was a
mad poops prayer from August twenty fifth all the way
to September the nineteenth.

Speaker 3 (02:01:19):
He continued to do it, so it was just that
was his thing. He would do it, believe he allegedly
thought it was funny.

Speaker 2 (02:01:28):
He used the spray, which he acquired online, to cause
disruption at the school, some people started seeking children had
to seek medical attention for respiratory issues.

Speaker 3 (02:01:40):
What hey, look, this must be a little dabble dooo
you he went in too hard, remember, And I shut
the whole studio down at the old place.

Speaker 2 (02:01:49):
And we had opened all the doors because I sprayed
some of Spitey's office and I didn't think it was
strong enough, so I just kept pumping.

Speaker 3 (02:01:54):
Yeah, and all of a sudden it cranked up. Was
that the great morning breeze? Yes? And I mean we
had we had every open. Yeah. Well we should have
had you out as like a skunk was in there. Yeah,
we should.

Speaker 2 (02:02:03):
We should have had you arrested the high school.

Speaker 3 (02:02:07):
Listen to this.

Speaker 2 (02:02:08):
Listen the high school not knowing what was happening. This
is where he's in real trouble. Spent fifty five thousand
dollars fifty five thousand dollars for inspection to find out
what was wrong with the air condition, says no, honly
that's one of.

Speaker 3 (02:02:22):
That unintentional He let it go too long. And then
he was like, oh, well I did. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:02:28):
See that's when your your prank go to an area
you didn't plan. If I'd known it was going to
be fifty five grand and fix it.

Speaker 3 (02:02:33):
I wouldn't have done it.

Speaker 2 (02:02:34):
So the former teaching assistant is being charged with disturbing
schools and malicious injury to property.

Speaker 3 (02:02:42):
Look at his faith.

Speaker 2 (02:02:43):
He's being held at the local jail while he a
waste bond. As a matter of fact, the local jail
keeps spreading in there to say, how you like that?
Like that foul?

Speaker 3 (02:02:52):
They spent fifty out where the state was coming from.
They can't how long he did it. He did this
for almost a month. You know these bloopers where these
reporters that sometimes they lose it and they start laughing.
But I love when the it's like, here's some hard
for you and they stay with it. This is going
to be good. This is courtesy of what wpde ABC's.

Speaker 5 (02:03:13):
The fifteen fifty facing charges.

Speaker 15 (02:03:17):
Thirty two year old Alexander Lewis was arrested Friday for
disturbing schools and malicious injury to property. Deputy say Lewis
used a spray he bought online to mimic the smell
of feces. Investigators believe he sprayed it multiple times between
August twenty fifth and September nineteenth, disrupting classes triggering health
issues and costing the district nearly fifty five thousand dollars

(02:03:40):
and inspections and air conditioning damages. And judge bond for
Lewis yesterday afternoon at just over nine thousand dollars.

Speaker 3 (02:03:48):
What does than are going to be retunguled to two
different courts? Y'all?

Speaker 37 (02:03:52):
He's coughed the malicious injury to personal property charge to
retunled the General Sessions Court on.

Speaker 14 (02:04:01):
November nineteenth, nine o'clock.

Speaker 3 (02:04:04):
He's in charge dollars? That is a shoot far do
you understand?

Speaker 19 (02:04:10):
All right?

Speaker 3 (02:04:10):
All this whole prey, the film is going to be
returnable to Florence Fasters.

Speaker 5 (02:04:17):
For fars Prey at ten o'clock.

Speaker 33 (02:04:20):
And the bottom for that is one thousand ninety dollars.

Speaker 5 (02:04:24):
He smelt it, you dealt it?

Speaker 3 (02:04:25):
What about man?

Speaker 2 (02:04:26):
What about the news reporter? I guess they voted, Okay,
we're gonna say imitating fe Si. I can't say far no,
the reporter says, Now, look so I can't just say
farts pray.

Speaker 3 (02:04:36):
You may not.

Speaker 5 (02:04:38):
The judge said.

Speaker 10 (02:04:39):
He was also guilty of one count of supplying it
while denying it.

Speaker 8 (02:04:44):
I wish we had audio that judge when we smelled
the wife, you should have said you dealt you know.

Speaker 5 (02:04:51):
This, yeah, deny it, while you had also supplied one.

Speaker 2 (02:04:55):
Now you're right, we're sitting in jail, right be the
famous were you in here for?

Speaker 18 (02:04:59):
We?

Speaker 20 (02:05:00):
You know?

Speaker 3 (02:05:00):
Grand larceny? Okay, okay, So what do you what do
you do if we do here in jail spraying?

Speaker 2 (02:05:07):
First break that must meet. And I was a teacher,
and I was a teacher's system. An example, it was
so bad they thought their conditioning system was broken. They
spend fifty five grand trying to solve it. And somebody says,
now that's a farsak, that's a good one.

Speaker 3 (02:05:21):
So he just continued to do it. That's the best way.
Had a little mystery going down with this smell. He
loved it, he said, by those things are stout, they
are we learned that. May I ask an uncomfortable mystery?
And I don't think it's so.

Speaker 2 (02:05:37):
There is a human mystery that, for some reason, if
you're the one who dealt it, the smell doesn't bother you.

Speaker 3 (02:05:44):
All right.

Speaker 2 (02:05:45):
I think there's something you should be studying, because if
you ever notice, if it's mine, I'm not even bothered
by now And everybody's freaking out, and I'm.

Speaker 3 (02:05:53):
Just kind of yeah, so does that do you take
that on his own? Do you take that out?

Speaker 5 (02:06:00):
Yeah, it doesn't work that way.

Speaker 3 (02:06:02):
He was probably one of the ones going, man, yeah,
when you know you got some issues is when it
even bothers you.

Speaker 10 (02:06:06):
That's well the line, that's the line, right, I probably
stop eating when I ate yesterday.

Speaker 2 (02:06:10):
I can tell this now that it's been twenty something
years nearly, but we set one off in a safety
meeting one time.

Speaker 3 (02:06:16):
Here we go grown men at the power coming in.
I mean just cleared the whole building. Nobody was looking around.

Speaker 36 (02:06:23):
What is that?

Speaker 2 (02:06:24):
Well, if you remember in the Rick and Bubby year,
he was the one who capsuled you step on it.
When when Bubba and I first started working together and
we were still we were still in Gadgton, we sprayed
one on the under the newsman's door when he's a
great the community calendar, serious interviews to.

Speaker 3 (02:06:41):
I'm gonna tell you might want to get here and
have a looking at that.

Speaker 2 (02:06:44):
Something is. I'm not sure who dealt it but me,
the newsman smelted and uh so we we talked about
that and but yeah, they you really but what I'm saying,
is was he not bothered by what.

Speaker 3 (02:06:56):
He was doing? Did he just deal with is worth
it to watch everybody? And does he have a friends
that know about it? How does he? Yeah? What's his
what's his jolly? Look at him? He's a weird guy.
Look at him?

Speaker 20 (02:07:07):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (02:07:08):
How many? How how far did it go? I do
want to know that, like two or three? Maybe because
he had to enjoy it with somebody like the Giggles. Yeah,
how many people enjoy it? First of all, he did
it for nearly looking for it?

Speaker 2 (02:07:20):
I want to know what what I actually had to
do we consider called searching for it? That cost me
fifty five thousand dollars. I mean, what were we doing?

Speaker 6 (02:07:27):
That was?

Speaker 11 (02:07:27):
So?

Speaker 3 (02:07:27):
He said? They cleaned out I guess the A C.
Duck work or whatever. They thought there might have been
something in it. What was so bad? Great?

Speaker 2 (02:07:33):
They're saying, we got to get inside this air conditioning
event and these something's going on.

Speaker 3 (02:07:38):
I want to know who's hold on him? Yeah? How
did him? You think he finally came out that? All right?
I am out of hand. This is like clown one
spray and so your what you did you think? Oh,
that's not enough and you keep on, Yeah, mine didn't
last for days? Do you think that now?

Speaker 2 (02:07:54):
Like people like that, people will always refer back to
him as the greatest part spray guyither ever was Oh yeah,
now he paid for it, Yes he did, still gonna
pay for Oh yeah, we'll be right back.

Speaker 1 (02:08:05):
This is the Rick Burgess show, his life statements. Suck
it up, butter to cup Rick budgets.

Speaker 3 (02:08:26):
Yeah, we could use a little more of that out there.

Speaker 6 (02:08:28):
Good.

Speaker 2 (02:08:29):
Well, yeah, thanks for being with US America and hanging
out starting another week together with a blast.

Speaker 3 (02:08:35):
All right, So let's talk about security now more than ever.

Speaker 2 (02:08:39):
Right, A lot of strange folk out there, A lot
of strange folk out there and won't belong to the Halloween's.

Speaker 3 (02:08:48):
We can really really stir them up.

Speaker 2 (02:08:51):
But anyway, simplysafe dot com slash big vox, you know what,
you kind of want to be at peace. You want
to know that you're properties protected and you think, Okay,
something happens, there'll be a response. They'll be an alarm.
That's fine, But simplysafe dot com slash big vox goes further.

(02:09:12):
What do you mean, Birch, they're proactive? How about keeping
the break in from ever taking place Halberg how AI
powered cameras that can spot intruders, trouble on the property,
trouble at your house, trouble at the office, and then
that alerts the monitors that are twenty four to seven
ready to go. They begin to interact with the intruder

(02:09:35):
in real time, stopping it from ever taking place. Hey,
we've called the law and man, that's that's even better.
So if you like to find out more and would
you like to have fifty percent off a new system,
We'll go to simplysafe dot com slash big vox and
there it is fifty percent off with a monitoring plan

(02:09:56):
and you need that anyway, first month of that'll be free.
Rick Burgess show dot com under sponsors, go right now.
There's no safe like simply safe dot com slash big
vox from text Nation. Need you all to be the
principal talking to the guy when you bring him into
your office.

Speaker 3 (02:10:14):
Okay, so you got any idea why you're here?

Speaker 6 (02:10:18):
No?

Speaker 2 (02:10:19):
No, my foreheads big but no no, no, are you
the you the fart bandit? You're dealing it because you
realize we've been trying to find this stench and somebody
told me you you behind the stench, and that's why
we brought you in. You are you ready to go
ahead and admit you dealt it? Because the whole darn

(02:10:42):
schools already smelt it.

Speaker 3 (02:10:43):
Everybody all everybody?

Speaker 7 (02:10:44):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (02:10:46):
If you had a lineup of teachers that may have
done it, I would have picked him right out of
the line. Hey, somebody will get me, the chubby guy
with the beard.

Speaker 3 (02:10:51):
Yeah, bring him in. What if you what if you
present the spray to him? So we found this. It
was in your desk. If you want to explain what
this is? Yeah, this is uh sits here? Fark spray
on it?

Speaker 1 (02:11:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:11:05):
Are you the one that has ordered the brand ode
to butthole?

Speaker 3 (02:11:12):
Okay? Because it's been effective. It's very, very very What
is yours?

Speaker 2 (02:11:16):
Right?

Speaker 3 (02:11:17):
Okay? So if he had just done it two days
he got he just let it go, he got, you know,
and watch this. I'm funny.

Speaker 2 (02:11:26):
And by the way, while i've got you here, somebody
has been stealing snacks out of the teachers lound. I
want to talk to you about that too. That's right,
you've been in that teacher's lounge too. You think you
didn't drop it in there?

Speaker 6 (02:11:34):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (02:11:34):
Of course his buddy probably named Greg, is the going
I bet you won't do it.

Speaker 2 (02:11:37):
To do.

Speaker 3 (02:11:39):
One more day, y'all, Just one more day, and then
you're doing It's hilarious. Think about it. If he'd just
stopped after two days, he'd got away with it, all right,
do we all agree?

Speaker 2 (02:11:48):
In life, things start out some can sometimes start out
being cute. But then if things start going poorly, what
was one time cute? Now drives you crazy?

Speaker 3 (02:11:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:11:58):
I think we're there with Bill Belichick's girlfriend. Okay, you're
right by the way I'm doing it. I think we're there.
Starts out kind of funny.

Speaker 3 (02:12:05):
Hey, look at this.

Speaker 2 (02:12:05):
He's got some young Philly but now they're not winning
and they're getting beat bad this weekend Central Florida.

Speaker 3 (02:12:12):
Yeah, uh and so.

Speaker 2 (02:12:14):
And there's a video now of what people are calling
the girlfriend giving him a pep talk pregame and it
looks absolutely ridiculous.

Speaker 3 (02:12:21):
Oh my god, why is that talking to his grand
Look at her boots and there? Yeah, what is he doing?

Speaker 5 (02:12:27):
This is so that old man talking to that prostitute.

Speaker 3 (02:12:32):
Okay, all right, he's making.

Speaker 2 (02:12:35):
A deal maybe a dancer, Yeah, okay, credit card down?

Speaker 3 (02:12:40):
This is Bill. But this shows you how this works,
We've seen it. This is Bill Belichick. He didn't put
up with no crap, one of the most successful coaches
in the history of the game. And he's gonna let
her walk up to him during the pregame or whatever
it is and be a distraction. Well, I ain't gonna ask.

Speaker 2 (02:12:55):
By the way, notice the police officer make sure he
has his sunglasses on, and he gets him again and
got right here.

Speaker 3 (02:13:02):
I think that's a female. Doesn't matter nowadays. Who knows.

Speaker 7 (02:13:06):
He said?

Speaker 19 (02:13:07):
No?

Speaker 2 (02:13:08):
One knows Bill Belichick trying to get ready to play
a ball game down there because she was from the concessions.

Speaker 3 (02:13:13):
Greg's mad, by the way, in the restricted area.

Speaker 5 (02:13:16):
That's what I'm saying, Can I get a ring?

Speaker 21 (02:13:18):
Pop?

Speaker 5 (02:13:18):
Is that what you said?

Speaker 3 (02:13:19):
Isn't it really look like a kid going up to
the dad saying could I have some money for the concession?
It really does. The line at conn of Ice is long.
Do you like my boots?

Speaker 7 (02:13:27):
You think?

Speaker 3 (02:13:29):
I wasn't sure where that was.

Speaker 7 (02:13:32):
Said?

Speaker 3 (02:13:33):
Yeah, right out of here. That's the embarrasson. She needs
to be up in the booth. That was a dangerous bee.
She ain't got no binness down there. Boots, boots, how
about this.

Speaker 2 (02:13:48):
If I'm if I'm the people writing him that big
old check, I call him in, go look, we ain't
playing very well at least pregame.

Speaker 3 (02:13:53):
Maybe you can put her up and you can concentrate
on what we're doing.

Speaker 2 (02:13:56):
Put her up, because we're paying you boots to stay
in the stand, nanny or something. Do you remember us
talking about how this age part of life he's in
can be the most productive decade of your life. You
know we've had those discussions. Not if you're distracted. No,
and see, if you're bringing in an old fellow, you
kind of think, well, I'll tell you one thing. He's
focused on one thing. He's almost a eunuch, you know

(02:14:18):
what I mean. Absolute He is focused on the job
at hand. And the minute they saw her they should
have said, I don't think we're gonna have his attention.
I don't think he's going to be focused. I mean,
we're fit's the kickoff and he's down there, talk what
and does.

Speaker 3 (02:14:29):
He have a couple of years in him to turn
this program around? Because that's what it's gonna go with
her around, That's what it's gonna take, because let's face it,
he's not focused and let's face it, probably dark. And
to be honest, they've shown what they say. They got
seventy five new players. They're not very good at the
portal judge and talent evidently.

Speaker 2 (02:14:45):
No, no, they and they said they're not at they're
not trying to say his phone in them, but they're
practiced over the last thirty minutes.

Speaker 5 (02:14:52):
They got to get that.

Speaker 3 (02:14:55):
I think that's good, everybody.

Speaker 10 (02:14:59):
I'm going to the So it looks like they're there
one in one in their division, and yeah, so they're not.

Speaker 5 (02:15:08):
They've won a couple who they beat?

Speaker 3 (02:15:11):
So did they win week two?

Speaker 5 (02:15:13):
See? Okay, yeah, a couple of weeks, not a couple
they okay, okay, they won two? They beat the spider
Man from Richmond? All right, Okay, got stomped by t
c U. The Charlotte.

Speaker 3 (02:15:25):
Oh did they Charlotte? Charlotte and Richmond?

Speaker 2 (02:15:28):
Okay, all right, So so two and two? Who else
is that they handed? I'm a forty one to four
there or whatever that is.

Speaker 11 (02:15:33):
That was.

Speaker 3 (02:15:34):
That's t c U. And then who else for the Richmond?
That's them beating Richmond? They beat Richmond? Yeah, yeah, I
got Clemson next. Hey, guys, what's wrong that one there.
What's wrong with glet That's a whole nother story. Come on, now,
what's wrong? We're about to find out who's who's in
the worst shape? Do you remember? I think it was
last year we were all looking around going hell, what's
wrong with Florida State.

Speaker 5 (02:15:55):
Season?

Speaker 3 (02:15:57):
And then Georgia Tech beat them over in Ireland in
the opening game.

Speaker 2 (02:16:00):
George Dick keeps messing everybody right now, as far as
the fan bases that followed the show, we need Florida
play Clemson soon.

Speaker 3 (02:16:08):
Because that's two fan bases. Yeah, yeah, I mean they
need I mean.

Speaker 17 (02:16:13):
So far.

Speaker 3 (02:16:15):
By the way, did I see the shot of Davo,
one of the players crying on the sideline when they was.

Speaker 4 (02:16:22):
You say he wasn't crying because they got don't I
don't know.

Speaker 5 (02:16:28):
I don't think he was crying, right, He was hanging
his hat a little.

Speaker 3 (02:16:32):
At this point. Well, yeah, I'm glad you know.

Speaker 1 (02:16:34):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. The hardest working men
in the business. The Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (02:16:48):
Just simply out working the competition on a daily basis.
Stature of being here cranking out five hours of content
a day, doing a podcast, I mean, look, doing a
Bible study, every week on the road out gripping and grinning, hustlings,

(02:17:09):
closing deals for the South folks.

Speaker 3 (02:17:12):
We do it all there. So thank you for being
with us today as we work through a note.

Speaker 2 (02:17:22):
So now that we went going back to college football
again and we discussed the Bill Belichick thing which is
making us all very uncomfortable. Then you know this ongoing
thing with Pat McAfee. Does he now become the new
league courso but he can't do the mascot thing that
that that's a little too on the nose. Yeah, so

(02:17:45):
McAfee seems to be I'll be the unpredictable one here.
I'm up for anything. Speedy has informed me that how
he picked the team, Yeah, picked.

Speaker 3 (02:17:56):
Whatever game day was down at Miami, and apparently he's
taken over the picks like for the last We weren't sure,
but uh coach Lee Corso uh called him while he
was on the bus after a college game day because
he had to get to a w w E event
or something, and he recorded that and Coach Lee Corso

(02:18:17):
was like, Hey, I'm passing the torch to you. It
was a cool moment for him, But the way he
picked this past weekend was crazy. Because he actually went
down to some speedo's and jumped in and this is
Adlers pulled it to where he's about to jump in.
Just now that he just did it. And he went

(02:18:38):
up to the top platform platform.

Speaker 5 (02:18:41):
And see that part.

Speaker 3 (02:18:43):
I saw a picture of him in his suit and
now I'm looking at me shirtless.

Speaker 2 (02:18:46):
Yeah, and oh no, you don't want to see this
because he gets everything in order at that and you
know what he got there on TV.

Speaker 3 (02:18:54):
It was funny. I'm a little winded.

Speaker 5 (02:18:56):
Wow, big climb.

Speaker 3 (02:18:58):
That's a that's a big climb.

Speaker 32 (02:19:00):
You know.

Speaker 3 (02:19:00):
You you look up there and you think, well, that's
not that high, and then you get up there. Oh yeah,
I'm jumped off.

Speaker 2 (02:19:05):
How do you feel about the mascot going up with him?

Speaker 3 (02:19:07):
That's that's it really is. It's impressive, to say the least.
All right, So now he just starts. They first think
he's just gonna take his jacket off, our shoes.

Speaker 5 (02:19:18):
Yeah, you gotta take your shoes off.

Speaker 3 (02:19:19):
Oh gosh, this is crazy and compliment. He's taking the
shirt off. Oh gosh, this is about where he's about
to fix.

Speaker 7 (02:19:34):
He went.

Speaker 3 (02:19:36):
I understand he doesn't want to have a viral moment
if you know what, man, you come.

Speaker 30 (02:19:39):
To this beautiful campus, you will notice quickly that the
students here love this university.

Speaker 3 (02:19:47):
And so the next one, Yeah, he gives a speech
and uh and now he's a he's about to jump in.
He gives the mic over and he jumps into the
uh to the po give me he's so glad got

(02:20:27):
to get it. Looks like he did. He just jumped
his underwear. He did. He did. Wow, Bat mcafeeodness, Yeah
that Uh so he's the guy. It looks like according
to what he posted on social media, him interacting with
coach Corso on the phone, he was like, Hey, I'm
glad you're doing. That's funny.

Speaker 2 (02:20:45):
So what where do you think do you think the
camera guy and the guy in the truck said, hey,
if you're going for an adjustment, let us know, we
need to cut away man, because they got that for
the whole world to see.

Speaker 3 (02:20:56):
I don't know, and I'll say this, I don't know
that he needs he knew he needed an adjustment till
he knew he needed an adjustment, if you know what
I mean, it just happened, you know, funny stuff.

Speaker 2 (02:21:09):
By the way, By the way, little burn, yeah, I
don't think short stand. McAfee apparently doesn't care. He'll do that,
he'll do that, and you kind of loved that about him.

Speaker 3 (02:21:23):
But I know it's a bit to some now this
weekend and I haven't I haven't looked. I'm assuming they'll
be at the Alabama Georgia game. Now that let me
tell you, let me tell you that, what time? What's
the kickoff for that? When that's the game? I'm locked.
That is going to be the six third dm ABC game.
It's uh, it's in Georgia at a conference stadium. So

(02:21:43):
I'm going to Texas for this man church one day.

Speaker 2 (02:21:46):
We'll be done at noon. Oh yeah, I'll be back.
I'll be settled into that.

Speaker 3 (02:21:51):
Yeah. But I can't wait. I'm so excited about that game.

Speaker 2 (02:21:55):
I think that it's one of those things where you know,
we an admire has disappeared after the Florida State debacle
and Alabama mowing these inferior opponents has not appealed to them.
I guess, Speedy, have you heard from them at all?
I'm sorry, no, I have not, so, so I guess
he's waiting now. One now, if the tide rises up

(02:22:16):
and wins this one, all right, it goes ugly. Do
you think we'll hear from again? I think we will, yeah, probably.

Speaker 3 (02:22:22):
And it looks like I'm sorry, it looks like Penn
State Oregon.

Speaker 5 (02:22:25):
What game will be at Oregon? First? Penn State, Happy Valley?

Speaker 2 (02:22:29):
Yeah, all right, so that is it's at Beaver Stadium.
But if they if they, if they had their I
think if they it was their choice, you know, they'd
rather be a George Allen leave it to Beaver State.

Speaker 3 (02:22:46):
Do you think it is three and six playing? Yeah? Yeah,
I can say that. I just can't ever believe.

Speaker 2 (02:22:54):
And again I think if you're a college game day fan,
so where is the Bama Georgia game?

Speaker 3 (02:23:00):
Georgia Georgia.

Speaker 2 (02:23:02):
So if you're the lost to Florida State, probably costs
game day if Alabama was under send, so they're.

Speaker 3 (02:23:11):
Going to like SEC Nation will be at the Alabama
Georgia Okay, all right, that's fine. Yeah, t bow In
the gang will be there. Greg. I'm gonna tell you
you know, this past weekend you might only had one
or two you were interested in this weekend, My gracious
ls L s U at Ole, Miss Auburn at Texas

(02:23:32):
A and m UH Auburn two thirty on ESPN. You've
got the Alabama Georgia game. Of course, Oregon Penn State.
You have got Ohi, Ohio State, and Washington who's undefeated.
Notre Dame in Arkansas, USC Illinois, Tennessee is at Misissippi State.

(02:23:55):
I mean, there's just a lot of football this this
next weekend.

Speaker 2 (02:23:58):
This week a lot this weekend feels strong. Yeah, And
that's the one of the reasons why I think, you
know what we're gonna do Saturday. We were because at
first when I first started talking to the first Baptist there,
and look, I'm not I understand. I totally understand the
way the world should be, but you got to deal
with the way the world is. And so we usually,

(02:24:21):
you know, tell churches, look, whether whether we like or not,
you don't want to try to compete with college football,
especially in most of the places where we operate. And
but in this particular case, I realized, he said, we're
going to be done by noon, so you know, so
most of the bigger games will be after that anyway.

Speaker 3 (02:24:40):
So but you know, I have I've had before, I've
had those people go, I'll.

Speaker 2 (02:24:43):
Tell you one thing, we're gonna do it. We worried
about when kickoff is we're doing and men are to
have the priority straight. That all sounds good, but they're
not coming.

Speaker 3 (02:24:50):
They're cross eyed when they tell you that that yeah,
and their arms.

Speaker 2 (02:24:53):
Right, so you know that's you know, Jesus, Jesus. Jesus
taught us to be as dental is it dove? But
what is wise as a surfing and sometimes you got
to be strategic? So it is so it will it
starts it that way. We'll be done by noon in
Texas and then we will all work our way back
back home. So we'll be set up right and go
be great. So you can join us for that and

(02:25:14):
and go to check any game you want to. So, uh,
those are all big. This is big, And we'll find
out a lot about a lot of people this weekend.
This one of those weekends where you find out about
a lot of people, that's true. We'll find out about Bama,
We'll find out about Georgia, We'll find out about Oregon,
find out about Penn State.

Speaker 3 (02:25:30):
How about night game? Is you ole, miss, We'll find
out about them. Yeah, night games at Penn State or
something else. That atmosphere is pretty crazy. Yeah, I'm sure
it's gonna be Valley. Yeah, so is it? Who's Ohio
State place? Wigan? They still Washington? Mm hmm, okay, who's undefeated?
I meant not a bad game. Yeah, that's not a

(02:25:50):
bad game. I understand.

Speaker 2 (02:25:52):
Yeah, So I know you didn't don't care about that game,
but I mean it's pretty big old. I mean, I'm
just I'll watch out on highlights. Right, I'm gonna watch
that game. If you asked me that or do I
know it's important? I know it's important. Fine, catch college
football final? I get it all Yeah, because they just
break it all down. I mean it's it's all day.
Indiana's at Iowa. I mean you've got games all over
the place.

Speaker 3 (02:26:12):
And I know Friday night, Greg, you don't look at
college football on Friday nights, but Florida State, Virginia and
TCU Arizona State play Friday night. Well, the Pelm Panthers
are open this week. Might look around a little bit.

Speaker 2 (02:26:25):
By the way, speaking of Indiana, did you see what
they did to Illinois?

Speaker 3 (02:26:29):
They drilled ill? Yes? Yes, yes, yes, they kind of
they kind.

Speaker 2 (02:26:33):
Of revealed the the ALLIONI as the pretender, But I
don't want to take anything with from the fact they
showed there a great they're really good. Yeah, and of
course was his name is Ignetty. Got a great coach.
He'll he'll talk some trash too.

Speaker 3 (02:26:45):
Yeah, he's not afraid of it now, which I like,
no doubt about it. They backing up. My goodness. You
kinda have to have multiple screams going here. I mean, look,
and I see it on text Nation two.

Speaker 2 (02:26:58):
I've noticed this and it's a strange concept and I
don't think it fits well. Bama fans have lost their confidence.
They don't think they have a chance in this game.

Speaker 3 (02:27:10):
I'm serious. You absolutely have a chance in this game.

Speaker 1 (02:27:13):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Looking for the man
church near you.

Speaker 3 (02:27:29):
Here are some options. Yeah, we mentioned Texas. This weekend.

Speaker 2 (02:28:35):
College football fans are almost impossible to deal well.

Speaker 3 (02:28:37):
Listen, this show happens.

Speaker 2 (02:28:39):
Happened a minute ago. Greg and I were talking about
I didn't see it, some of the things that happened
in the Auburn game. And we both said, but how
you can't get sacked ten times? These things happen. You
got to overcome it.

Speaker 3 (02:28:51):
Bunch of always always making excuses. Oh but you cry
much alby.

Speaker 2 (02:28:58):
No, I'm I didn't even see the game. I said,
you can't use it as an excuse for a loss.
But there are some things that happened that apparently it was,
but the story was that had been talked about, that
that was illegal, and that the SEC puts about.

Speaker 10 (02:29:17):
In fact as an abby as a barner you are.
I didn't like what you said. I was like, no,
let's blame it on the officials, please. So yeah, y'all
were doing what y'all we're doing, always.

Speaker 5 (02:29:31):
From reasons, Speedy things.

Speaker 3 (02:29:32):
It's the Beavers beaver Stadium. Everybody get that beaver Stadium
is Beaver Stadium is where Penn State plays. And that's
what I said. I know it's Oregon. The douve, right,
I know your cross eyes come along, was going up

(02:29:54):
and then the other one's going to stick that.

Speaker 2 (02:29:56):
Speedy said that they're playing at Penn State, which is
called beaver Stadium. I'm sorry, but that's there and they're
playing Oregon.

Speaker 3 (02:30:05):
That's all he said. I know they're not playing the
State still in that two team conference? Are they still
the pack?

Speaker 7 (02:30:17):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (02:30:18):
So funny boy. I'll tell you what though, I'm I'm
gonna be torn. I'm not gonna know what to watch. No, man,
try to get as much of as you can because
of Ryder Cups this weekend too. Oh good night, don't
you good? Don't you good night, Ryder Cup. Give me
the first names on who you're pulling for? Well, Scottie
and Xander and I have to know this not pulling

(02:30:41):
for Rory. He's playing against the US. That's your problem.
I didn't know what the Ryder Cup was. I thought
they that on Sunday? Clown Is that on this weekend? Weekend?
And I like team guys.

Speaker 2 (02:30:51):
I might ask you a question. It's very important about
how our friendship goes forward.

Speaker 3 (02:30:55):
Will would you watch that? Like? Prefer it over college football?

Speaker 36 (02:30:59):
No?

Speaker 3 (02:31:00):
Okay, all right, we're good. Well he's just gonna check.
So who wants right? And sometimes you know how sometimes
you'll flip over and you'll get, you feel, you'll get,
you'll get, you'll get in it, and then you realize, wow,
I've been watching this a while. I need to go
back to the other. I'll flip around. Do you scream?
Getting the whole Wait a minute to New York. New

(02:31:21):
York's gonna be going nuts, right yelling, get hear me.
New York is gonna lose its mind when it comes
to this. This, This is the This is when y'all
should watch golf because this is the atmosphere. I would
rather you want this, I would rather eat nails. Then
you know that's being ridiculous, is crazy, that is ridiculous.

(02:31:44):
Watching it was Yeah, it's not nothing indict but on
my characters, I don't enjoy it. That's for me. What
about Xander? What about Xander? About Phil Rick? What do
you keep bringing up.

Speaker 1 (02:32:00):
America?

Speaker 3 (02:32:00):
You got pulled for America no matter what you see.
Phil Milkers and he did was pretty outspoken about the left,
what they've been saying about Charlie Kirk. I thought that
was well, that was just most people nobody's hands the
mouth shut. I don't think so. I say a lot
of people saying that. In fact, we will. Let's applaud
people when they do speak up, because we criticize them

(02:32:20):
when thee wait till everybody else spoke up. Then he
spoke up, cry, yeah she did.

Speaker 5 (02:32:29):
He did talk about ilhan Omar, yeah, saying he.

Speaker 3 (02:32:34):
Said she sucks at golf. She couldn't play on live
if she tried, she can't play.

Speaker 2 (02:32:40):
But but look, we have we have someone who dresses
like a terrorist who's saying they think Charlie Kirk should
be put in the dust bend of history.

Speaker 3 (02:32:49):
It's not bold to speak against that. I mean that
that was that was low hanging fru.

Speaker 10 (02:32:54):
Yeah, he said, she spews hate every time she opens
her mouth, and she came here fraudulently and will hopefully
be sent back to Somalia soon married her brother.

Speaker 2 (02:33:05):
That was it just gives her a pass. Now she
can't live in Connecticut.

Speaker 3 (02:33:08):
Yeah, down, Just let y'all know that there's other things
going on to I didn't say I was going to
ignore that. I just like, hey, this is a big
sports weekend.

Speaker 34 (02:33:17):
It is.

Speaker 10 (02:33:18):
It is.

Speaker 3 (02:33:19):
Hey, there's bowling somewhere. Just some NFL cities are like
I couldn't care less about all that. I'll care about Sunday.
I know why I asked you, we're gonna watch it
on Sunday. Did you you like it better than pro football? Right?

Speaker 7 (02:33:30):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (02:33:30):
I mean I like golf. I enjoy golf, and I'm
going to watch the US play Europe. Okay, okay, so
y'all next week? Why why there's a Why there's a
college football game on? Now, I'll look over at it.
It'll start early, I say, corn holes not having their championship.

Speaker 2 (02:33:48):
Okay, that's fine, Hey, Greg, let me tell you calmly
when the bowling gets on, you're.

Speaker 3 (02:33:55):
Wearing a golf shirt. This is not a golf most
certainly is you try claim that flower one?

Speaker 6 (02:34:01):
Right?

Speaker 2 (02:34:01):
It was, well, I wear tis, I wear tenants something
called tennis shoes, but I don't play tennis.

Speaker 5 (02:34:10):
That was that was actually a good Harrison There you go.
He got you good with that one. He did.

Speaker 3 (02:34:15):
Yeah, what if feels.

Speaker 5 (02:34:20):
Hey, I didn't realize coming back to the I would
to wear it.

Speaker 3 (02:34:22):
Xander wears, well, I'll tell you what.

Speaker 5 (02:34:25):
That's what really does only have two members right now?

Speaker 3 (02:34:27):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (02:34:28):
Crazy?

Speaker 3 (02:34:29):
Really the fact too?

Speaker 7 (02:34:30):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (02:34:31):
Yeah, and let's not forget the Major League major League
Baseball last regular there's anything coming down in the wire.
Who won? What did I see Milwaukee celebrating? I looked.
I think y'all are like y'll are like human horses
with blinders on. It's like, but they were not. I

(02:34:53):
don't think it's to be well rounded.

Speaker 2 (02:34:56):
I don't think it's weird to not be just not
be interested in certain things. We don't have to be
interested that. You don't have to make fun. I don't
forbid others from doing it. What about Frisbee Gough, I'm sorry.

Speaker 3 (02:35:06):
You got you got, you got golf and cornhole in
the same Yeah. Okay, isn't it. I like putt putt.
See that's what I'm saying y'all too. I'm telling you
what I'm trying to come along with music and be educated.
Won't y'all do the same? We are, We tried it,
we just don't like it. I would watch you went
to the you went to the driving range and hit.

Speaker 2 (02:35:28):
I enjoyed it all, and now I'm looking at my
rotator cuff.

Speaker 3 (02:35:31):
Thanks a lot, Rick. I would rather watch the Super
Bowl poker Texas hold them. Then I had the rider
cut and you're a boring son of a when they
have it on you who watches people play That's that's weird.

Speaker 5 (02:35:46):
I can't believe that's still on.

Speaker 10 (02:35:47):
It had like a big had a big moment there,
but then when you see it on television again, you're like,
wait a second.

Speaker 2 (02:35:53):
The only time I watched people you play cards is
when my parents had friends over when I was a.

Speaker 3 (02:35:57):
Kid about food. Oh, we haven't scored playoffs too, Yeah,
and that's so confusing. I can't watch you, see I
can't kind of I don't understand how I don't.

Speaker 5 (02:36:06):
Care about the crab run.

Speaker 3 (02:36:07):
But that's not untill I cover before in my back hurt.

you for being with us today.

Speaker 3 (02:37:03):
As the show goes forward.

Speaker 2 (02:37:05):
All right, So from text Nation thought I heard Rick
mention something about tomorrow being the end of time? Was
that a joke or is it an actual theory? Can
you touch on that?

Speaker 3 (02:37:16):
Yeah? And I don't.

Speaker 2 (02:37:17):
I'm not all that versed on it, because Speedy read
something about it, because I think I think these predictions
are absolute lunacy, so I never pay attention to them.
They aggravate me frankly.

Speaker 3 (02:37:30):
Uh. But apparently somebody in South Africa was it?

Speaker 15 (02:37:34):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (02:37:34):
Some guy yeah, it's claiming that. Of course another one
who's claimed they figured out what Jesus told us. No
one could figure out. But they've done it somehow. Uh.

Speaker 3 (02:37:44):
And the day and the time.

Speaker 30 (02:37:46):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (02:37:47):
And then if they if they miss it, they're kind
of like weather people. They had like it never happened.
How you told it was gonna rain? I don't think
so let me give it a forecast for today. Oh
I'll tell you why it didn't rain. But I was
prid was still pretty much right.

Speaker 3 (02:38:00):
You didn't you? Yeah, it didn't rain.

Speaker 2 (02:38:04):
So yeah, apparently there is some prediction about tomorrow. Then
there's somebody else that's doing something by esther. Apparently I
don't know about that either.

Speaker 3 (02:38:13):
Twenty third, twenty fourth of September of the big ones
that which to your point, is this week. So yeah,
I guess if we're here doing the show Wednesday, they
got to apologize.

Speaker 2 (02:38:21):
Well, and this is kind of just what we adopt,
probably the most healthy. We adopt the attitude that we
could die on any day and we'll face Jesus then,
no matter when he returns or when they rebuild the
temple or you know, when the tribulation begins. A true
day and that could happen any day. We also know

(02:38:43):
that we live on a something that can't be disputed.
As I speak into this microphone in real time right now,
I have never been closer to two things, the return
of Christ or my earthly death. I'm closer right now
than I've ever.

Speaker 3 (02:38:56):
Been and be prepared.

Speaker 2 (02:38:59):
And you know, it's almost I think, deep down, because
I know I was like this in school, where you
just like I know I should have been studying for
this for a long time and I should have been
getting ready. But I wish i'd know exactly, you know,
when the test is. I'd like to know as much
about it, but I don't want to. I don't really
care about it till the night before I'm having it,

(02:39:20):
you know. And I think, deep down, some of this
wanting to know it just in human nature. I'm not
saying for every person, but I know human nature. I
don't know much about new human nature because I'm a human.
It's kind of like, kind of wish I could know,
so I could raise all kinds of heck, do all
kinds of whatever I want to. Then right at the
very end, I'll try to get right with Jesus before
he comes back so that I won't be cast into
eternal hell. So so I wish somebody would come up

(02:39:43):
with it so I could just know. Okay, so we're
talking Thursday, we're talking two weeks from Thursday. Yeah, you know,
it's almost like, you know, you don't want to be
that person that was having the party at your parents'
house and they came back a day early. Yeah, you
want to know exactly when they're coming back.

Speaker 3 (02:39:56):
By the way, for.

Speaker 2 (02:39:57):
Kids that take over their parents' house, sixty that's one
of the positives.

Speaker 3 (02:40:02):
You look back at the negative they can tell what
you're doing, but you know when they're coming home, right wow.

Speaker 2 (02:40:08):
So there's the other end of that. Hey do you
think Mama did'll come up a dailor? Now I'm looking
right now they're and put them on. They ain't nowhere
near Yeah, they're right there on the Gulf coast. So anyway,
so I really want to get leave your phone and
come home.

Speaker 3 (02:40:20):
Right oh wow. But so I don't know.

Speaker 2 (02:40:24):
I don't put anything into these day and time predictions.
Now I can almost guarantee you that tomorrow is not
going to be the end of time, but I can't
guarantee that any of us will be a live tomorrow
that I can't the fact right, So.

Speaker 3 (02:40:39):
There you go. How about this?

Speaker 2 (02:40:42):
I'm wondering how RFK Junior does he know about this?
Will he internally combust when he hears about it?

Speaker 3 (02:40:48):
Adler?

Speaker 2 (02:40:49):
I know you work with him a lot. Have you
heard about the new heavy soda trend? He's not gonna
be happy heavy soda? Her ever heard that me either?
Till today? Trend the super sweet Fountain Drinks spark buzz online,

(02:41:10):
a sweet new drink craze bubbling up online and dentists
are cringing. The latest Fountain option, dubbed heavy Soda, promises
an extra blast of syrup for maximum sweetness and a
flavor strong ened uugh to withstand melting ice. Now, to me,

(02:41:33):
we always hated because that's when I hate it when
they came out with the plastic two lids. Hate them
because they don't keep the fizzs and usually if somebody
didn't didn't put it back on good or there's a
little whatever, and then you go it that's to taste
like syrup. I don't know that I want a soft
drink that has overpowering syrup.

Speaker 10 (02:41:54):
It's already sugar already like ten scoops of sugar in
every soda doing the team twelve scoops.

Speaker 2 (02:42:03):
By the way, he's emailing RFK Junior right now, I
can see it. You can't believe it, can you?

Speaker 3 (02:42:08):
Addler?

Speaker 5 (02:42:09):
Will you let this stand?

Speaker 2 (02:42:11):
Oh right, I can't all right back away, Let Greg
have that because people think you that it's not good
when Greg does that. So anyway, so uh, there's a
lot of people that want I'm like you, a soft
drink to me?

Speaker 3 (02:42:26):
Is what it's plenty? Yeah, yeah, I don't need anymore.
You say it's heavy heavy soda.

Speaker 5 (02:42:31):
It's like a playoff of like you got like bud
light and then like bud heavy. You know how people
call it but heavy. Greg calls it but heavy when
he drinks.

Speaker 3 (02:42:38):
Yeah, I don't drink about bud. Are you saying but
bud bud? But red?

Speaker 2 (02:42:43):
I will say that I'm a thank you, Greg. I
will say I'm a I'm a big water guy. Consume
a lot of water every day, the water A lot
of water every day. Who I'm water guy. But there
are times when I just go gotta have a soft drink.
Oh yeah, I just gotta mix it up. I gotta
have you got a little carbon. Yeah, those those little ones,
you know. And I don't go the diet version. No,

(02:43:03):
no offense. I'm sure there's a good one, because to me,
i'd rather just have a small amount of just straight up,
you know, like I'm gonna go Coke Classic every time
I like just to you know, but I don't.

Speaker 3 (02:43:15):
I can't do a big one any but yeah, I
don't like to be a sixteen ouncer. Yeah, and every
now and then, you know, there'll be these, you know.

Speaker 2 (02:43:24):
I would rather, for some reason, if I was gonna
go with a diet drink, I would go Coke zero
over Dot Coke.

Speaker 3 (02:43:30):
Yes, oh yes, I can't drink dit coke. But I
can drink Coke zero but I but I don't think
I can go heavy soda. That this making me uncomfortable
just to talk about it, y'all. Yeah, y'all. Put Have
you ever put cucumbers in your water? Yes? I did
that yesterday.

Speaker 5 (02:43:45):
I haven't like Yeah, excuse me, I said, no, I'm married.

Speaker 3 (02:43:50):
YEA, let me ask you this. Did you like it? Yeah?
It's it's good for hydration, but it's better. It's better
than just water, you know. They recommended that for my
dad to stay high. Make fun of that now, Greg.
And I was like, hey, that's that's too something and
it's not just gives it a little flake, how much?
Just cut a slice, put it in the bottom. I mean,
I mean it's not.

Speaker 2 (02:44:09):
When I was getting we were we were changed the world, Greg, Greg,
I was having your favorite meal yesterday, brunch. Uh And
and the person who was serving us brunch said, we
asked for water, and she said would you like to
have some cucumber and lemon in that? And Sherry was like,
oh yes. And I looked at I said do we

(02:44:29):
and she's like, oh yes. But it was refreshing. Yeah,
felt a little bit feminine, but it was refreshing. Right,
it's but it's.

Speaker 3 (02:44:37):
Socks. H Do you have a pair of shoes and
no socks. He's just going after I don't know what
that means. I know what he's saying. They told me
about some loafers that are like, let me say this,
you have to learn how.

Speaker 6 (02:44:50):
To read it.

Speaker 2 (02:44:50):
The cucumbers and water means you're light. Yes, okay, all right,
So I will say this total honesty. No way I
say yes to that. If my wife's not with no.

Speaker 3 (02:45:00):
Maybe I don't elemen. In no way I think about
it unless I didn't hear my dad be told he
should what you're making fun of right now? I'm making
fun of you, are I just think they're probably making
a bigger deal. You think they're over selling that. Yeah,
that's all. That's a shocking it. They didn't say, mister Wilburn,
you're a new discovery. Look right there. And there's what

(02:45:24):
I'm talking about. My dad doesn't even have those shoes.
Now I'm talking about you.

Speaker 5 (02:45:31):
We're talking about you, buddy. We're not talking about your dad.

Speaker 3 (02:45:33):
You're making your dad and drink and that's not his
joy out here, July, I hope that you're six miles
from an accent. And you said, that's not nat I said,
And you run in in the in the in the
like convenience store, like this.

world's ending tomorrow, don't get me anything. Don't you believe
that she wants something? All right, even even if it's

I was just curious, So would you rather for Adler?
Would he rather take a shot glass of mister Chin's
water or where a deodorant with aluminum innute for a year?

Speaker 3 (02:49:30):
Tough?

Speaker 5 (02:49:30):
They just looked at the water. That's a tough one. Yeah, yeah,
I got to think about that one.

Speaker 3 (02:49:34):
That's so dark.

Speaker 5 (02:49:36):
He's doing great. He's the happiest. Great, y'all looking at
it from the wrong side.

Speaker 3 (02:49:41):
This is the clear side.

Speaker 5 (02:49:44):
This is the show side.

Speaker 3 (02:49:45):
That's slow death one.

Speaker 30 (02:49:46):
Marr.

Speaker 2 (02:49:47):
You're like a daredevil of aluminum taking an aluminum field
deodorant or take a shot glass of that water?

Speaker 5 (02:49:54):
Oh man, that's a bad choice. He's the happiest he's been, you.

Speaker 2 (02:49:59):
Know, he what would you do? You got to go
with the deodorant. There your chances of getting sicker lower
than drinking that water. Yeah, for one year.

Speaker 5 (02:50:07):
I can live with it. I can live with it,
so I'll take a shot with him.

Speaker 3 (02:50:11):
Okay, that's true. He doesn't does look happy, y'all.

Speaker 6 (02:50:14):
Look at him.

Speaker 3 (02:50:16):
He's really active, right. The tail looks good. His tail
looks a little.

Speaker 5 (02:50:21):

several twist. Can we get Speedy to do the where
he plays that he gets in the corner he plays
the horn or whatever that is that he used.

Speaker 3 (02:50:43):
To do that thing, Yeah, the tuber nation thing, yeah,
the tuber dance. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:50:49):
It was one of the things when I was negotiating
his new contracy, he said, can I not do that anymore?

Speaker 3 (02:50:54):
I want to stop. Do you think this studio is
like not at the museum And when we leave, like
big Boy comes alive that they spind the wheel. Yeah,
there's just a party up in here.

Speaker 2 (02:51:05):
What if we find that that Cody and they're like,
bit mister chan that's why tales.

Speaker 5 (02:51:10):
Yeah, and it's like this stuffed owl starts hooking up
with the Cody.

Speaker 3 (02:51:15):
He's like party show on screen PHONECS.

Speaker 25 (02:51:25):
Go ahead, Hey, y'all, don't having too much fun this

Speaker 25 (02:51:44):

Speaker 2 (02:51:48):
That's right, well, happy anniversary you both have you eighteen

a little. King We continue Rick Berger's show you. Hey,
how are you, gentlemen? We're good. I hope you're well.

Speaker 6 (02:52:07):
Man.

Speaker 25 (02:52:07):
Do you hear something sometimes that just upsets you.

Speaker 6 (02:52:10):
You're not even mad, You just disappointed in the person
when you hear them say it.

Speaker 7 (02:52:15):
Now, I know, I'm just picturing Speedy sitting around.

Speaker 21 (02:52:17):
With all this college football all watching golf with a
big old glass of water with a whole cucumbers.

Speaker 7 (02:52:24):
It's not right.

Speaker 3 (02:52:25):
I didn't say that's funny. I didn't say I was
choosing that over the other. I was just letting them know.
There's a lot cucumber.

Speaker 2 (02:52:35):
Greating named the cucumber field, I flipped around during commercials.
I do Rick Berger's show unscreen phone calls go ahead, Hey.

Speaker 21 (02:52:45):
Rick, I maybe a little bit late on this, but uh,
I was listening to your freaking Bubba Best Up Show yesterday,
yesterday evening that it was released Saturday, and you were
talking about I just made it been ten years ago.
You were talking about how stupid the duck bill hats looked. Yes, yes,
and uh, you know what with maybe ten years ago,

(02:53:05):
and I was, you know, at the time, I was like, yeah,
that they do look stupid. I'm completely in agreement with you.
But after ten years or so, they've been in fashion
for a while, and I gotta say they still look
just a stupid talent.

Speaker 3 (02:53:19):
Time did not hold it at all. I totally agree
with you.

Speaker 2 (02:53:21):
There's dumb looking today as they were ten years still
didn't look they look Let's face it, some people like them.

Speaker 3 (02:53:27):
I don't know why. That's why I love them. There, Yeah,
I agree with that.

Speaker 2 (02:53:30):
Of course, we're gonna put one in the Rick Bergers
Show for everybody. Look, y'all, y'all beat me go get
one for all the skateboarders there. It is Rick Birders
Show on screen phone calls, Go ahead.

Speaker 22 (02:53:42):
Now, what happened to me this morning? I woke up,
made breakers for dinner my mom. Since you don't have kids,
I stuffed my toe getting in the shower, and fell
off the pork on my way to work next year ago, yesterday?

Speaker 7 (02:53:52):
What happened to me?

Speaker 5 (02:53:55):
Thank you, sir, Thank you, sir.

Speaker 3 (02:54:00):
I was waiting for every second of it. That's great.
I mean, that was well done.

Speaker 2 (02:54:06):
I'm start trying to forget how your mom doesn't have kids.

Speaker 5 (02:54:08):
That was nice of him to do for his mom,
especially since you're enough kids.

Speaker 3 (02:54:11):
It's funny, listen, there was a lot, a lot of
info in that thing. There was a lot there that
was good. That was good.

Speaker 2 (02:54:18):
That was a commitment to it right there. Rick Burgess
show onscreen phone calls, go ahead, Good.

Speaker 7 (02:54:23):
Morning, mister bart needs to be introduced to miss Bobbitt.

Speaker 2 (02:54:31):
Oh that's a little brutal. The person they got in
trouble with the fart thing. Yeah, I think that's severe
punishment over at farts break.

Speaker 3 (02:54:40):
Yeah, all right, enough trouble. I mean, don't come on now,
come on, man, lord.

Speaker 2 (02:54:48):
I mean, we got him in jail. We're gonna charge
him a lot of money. Come on, that's that's a
strong reaction to a foul smell. It really look it's
filled our thousand worth of air condition I got.

Speaker 3 (02:55:01):
Oh you textures or something else today. Oh yeah, we'll
be right back. Stay cause.

Speaker 1 (02:55:08):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, said, count people, and
let the whole world know that you listen to the

(02:55:31):
Rick Burgess Show. Cool merchandise is available now. Just go
to Rickburgersshow dot com.

Speaker 3 (02:55:38):
That click shop.

Speaker 2 (02:55:41):
Where your Rick Burgess Show colors. By the way, a
lot of you have asked for it now more than ever.
You notice that at the manshirts dot com. Uh, you know,
we've moved on to some other shirts and a lot
of you are saying, hey, man, I want you to
bring back, especially now after what Erica Kirk said. And
we've been saying uh for years, but it was good

(02:56:01):
for her to use that platform to make that call too.
Can we be a man followed Jesus, can we get
that shirt back? And the answers yes, it'll now be
in the Rick Burgess Show and it won't have the
man church on, it'll just have that phrase. You should
see that coming any day, so you can check that
there by clicking shop. Speaking of this the one thing

(02:56:21):
we didn't hit on because it didn't really fit in
the memorial service.

Speaker 3 (02:56:25):
But it is a pretty and I know when we
talk about this topic, we're just like, just let's just
all settle down.

Speaker 2 (02:56:33):
Okay, there's no doubt and we don't know the answers.

Speaker 3 (02:56:37):
We don't now.

Speaker 2 (02:56:38):
Trump says he thinks we may have one. We have
an autism spectrum epidemic in this country and it's been
building for years. All I have to do is, and
you know, I do not buy the well, we're just
able to diagnose it better now. I think that's total hogwash.
I've seen it in just my lifetime, the increase, and

(02:57:02):
as you know, it was pointed out early on. It
was one of the doctors from Baylor that said, you
can't have a genetic epidemic that didn't exist. So there's
some sort of insult something we're doing as a as
a as a culture.

Speaker 3 (02:57:15):
And I don't I don't have the answer. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (02:57:17):
I know there's all kinds of theories, but we all
have to get in the in the real world and
say we can all plainly see that people in the
autism spectrum are at an all time hot and I
mean you you literally see it everywhere to different levels
and severities, some very high functioning, some unfortunately not so

(02:57:39):
high functioning. And you know there's treatments that have showed
promise and all that. So apparently coming today, uh, there
is going to be a big announcement medically that the
Make America Healthy Again movement led by RFK Junior, they're

(02:58:00):
going to show some tie in today. And here's Trump
talking about it yesterday during the Memorial Service, but he
did mention this coming up today and tomorrow.

Speaker 33 (02:58:11):
We're going to have one of the biggest announcement really medically.

Speaker 3 (02:58:16):
I think in the history of our country.

Speaker 33 (02:58:18):
We're going to be doing it with Bobby and Oz
and all of the professionals.

Speaker 3 (02:58:24):
I think you're going to find it to be amazing.

Speaker 33 (02:58:29):
I think we found an answer to autism.

Speaker 3 (02:58:32):
How about that autism. Tomorrow we're going to be talking
the Oval Office in the White House about autism. I
picked up on something I missed the first time, and
that is R. K. Junior looked down like, oh, I
can't believe he's said He's not supposed to say anything. Well,

(02:58:52):
especially at the Memorial service. This is when Trump started
riffing on like a state of the Union, what do
we Yeah that but anyway, I'm not right.

Speaker 2 (02:59:05):
We just the fact that they claim it's coming today
and many people have already leaked. And I think maybe
RFK Junior, I know he did. He already spoke about this.
You know in the past that they were looking into this,
that a potential tie to pregnant women being told, which
I remember they always did. You know, there's certain things
you do why you're pregnant. Now you can take Talanow,

(02:59:26):
but don't take I be profen. And now.

Speaker 3 (02:59:30):
Look, this is not me saying this is the truth.
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (02:59:33):
It's the leaked the story about what it is that
they're gonna attempt to make a connection between talerannaw during
pregnancy and the rise in autism.

Speaker 3 (02:59:45):
Right, yeah, that's that's the be very careful about what
I said. Yeah, but that's what the courses are coming out.
Of course.

Speaker 2 (02:59:52):
Yeah, of course I'm not saying that that is officially connected.
And I know Talanow has tried to get out in
front of it by saying they've done their own independent
study and that's not the shocker. They say they're not connected. Well, yeah,
if I was at toddle Knoll. But but we do
need to get to the truth, not not not you know,
you know, propaganda, but the truth. And it may be
there that this is not true at all, are exaggerated

(03:00:18):
on how severe it really is. You know, we know,
all I know is we got a problem. And I
don't know what the problem is. But I'm kind of
done with the Well, We're just able to identify it
better now that just I've seen it with my own eyes.
I've watched a whole generation of children and and it's

(03:00:38):
just I mean, there was a time that most of
us didn't know one child, I know, in the autism spectrum.
And now it'd be harder to find someone who does
not know one doesn't have one in their family, or
multiple children in their family, or you know, if you've
just coached Little League and taught Sunday school for kids

(03:01:00):
or anything involving kids, you've seen it with your own eyes.

Speaker 10 (03:01:04):
Yeah, And to your point, Rick, there is more reporting
of it, there is more diagnosing of it. There's more
reporting of it because in some places that get you
get a lot more money as far as disability and
things like that, that doesn't cover what we're seeing in
society like that might cover a little bit of these.

Speaker 5 (03:01:23):
Huge increases in numbers. But I think it was I forget.

Speaker 10 (03:01:28):
I think it was actually Trump who was saying, now
it's one in twelve and boys and one in twenty
and girls, more reporting, more diagnosing, people trying to get
more benefits because if you claim autism on your disability,
you get more money or whatever.

Speaker 5 (03:01:42):
That doesn't cover what we are seeing. It doesn't explain
what we are seeing. It doesn't. Society is different. We
see it, We see it all the time. And I
was in high school before I even heard of it,
and now it's everywhere.

Speaker 2 (03:01:57):
Well, you remember when the movie Rainman came out. I
remember all of us gould know what it is, and
they were trying to explain it to us and all that.
It was so uncommon that I remember learning about it, going, oh, yeah,
I've heard about that, you know, and him showing some
of the things that are involved in it. But now
it is, I mean, it's it's everywhere, yeah and so,

(03:02:22):
and you're right on the you know, the things of
I think some of the things you get into. And
I see one of the textures saying the same thing
with three children and one is autistic, the other two aren't,
and the wife took title and all with all three pregnancies, Well,
I think it's possible.

Speaker 3 (03:02:38):
I'm not saying they're linked. Don't. Don't misunderstand me, But.

Speaker 2 (03:02:41):
I think we have learned throughout time that people have
different sensitivities to things, and sometimes that's not known. You know,
they always tell you there's a chance of these, risk
of this and that, and like something that might have
no effect on you, Speedy might have an effect on me.

(03:03:02):
But but I don't know it until we both have
have you know, had the same thing, and I'm like, hey,
they're like, wow, that's that was a bad reaction on
your part. Well why didn't Speedy rect to it? Well,
I don't know, but he didn't. And I think that's
I think somewhere along the way we're gonna come up
on something like that. And you know, there's been there's
been a lot of studies have been done. I'm pretty

(03:03:25):
well versed on a lot of it, and and just
kind of keep an eye on it because like I say,
we've we've worked with so many people. Uh, and if
you're if you do anything with children, you need to
be as well versed on this as you can, because
it's the same thing we found out with And and
now I'm getting away from the calls a little bit
because I don't pretend to know the cause we don't.

Speaker 33 (03:03:44):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (03:03:44):
They were just saying there's been some sort of insult.
I don't know what it is.

Speaker 2 (03:03:47):
There's there's theories, could be a combination of a lot
of things. Yeah, but but I know, like when we
went through Alzheimer's with Dad, is you you need to
be educated on Alzheimer's patient versus someone else who's having
some sort of a bout with mental illness, because you
don't treat an autism patient the way you would someone

(03:04:10):
who has another form of mental illness. You can redirect
them things like that, and so that's the thing with
the autism spectrum. We all need to kind of be educated,
you know, on the you know, the different the way
you handle someone who has autism versus something else. And
so in the process of trying to learn all that,

(03:04:31):
you get pretty educated in all the different theories and research.
And as time goes on, I hope we can find
The beautiful thing is, no matter what the situation is,
there's some brilliant people that have really come a long
way with treatments that have taken nonverbal children to being verbal,
from you know, low functioning to high functioning. You know,

(03:04:55):
I don't think anyone's ever been able to come and says, hey, look,
we'll get rid of this completely. But you know, when
you go from not being able to function to being
or to function, that's a big jump. Shure, you know
that you can the child can be independent one day,
and you know and all that. But so I'm I'm
glad there's a lot of people researching in and I
don't know if this announcement today. What you're gonna see

(03:05:15):
today is that somebody's gonna say there's a link, and then,
as Tyler and I already said, they're gonna say there's
not a link. And then then we'll go into the
the field of scientific debate and we'll just we'll see
where it goes. But all everything seems to be pointing
that that will be the announcement today, So we'll see, we'll.

Speaker 3 (03:05:34):
See how it goes.

Speaker 2 (03:05:36):
We'll be back and we have more to cover today,
including a story we're gonna ask ourselves, is this something
I'll tell you about a conversation I had over the
weekend involving you, Greg, and I have a feeling this
is gonna be I think I know where you're gonna
land on this, but we'll all discuss it in a

(03:05:58):
few more stories before we wrap up the hour.

Speaker 1 (03:06:00):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. The man who shaved

(03:06:27):
thirty minutes off his last road trip, Rick.

Speaker 5 (03:06:31):

Speaker 3 (03:08:03):
So this one I wanted to ask you about Greg,
I think I know this.

Speaker 2 (03:08:06):
So so when I was in you know, Colonial Virginia
over the weekend and you know, being at a bed
and breakfast where I discovered basically your your guest to
someone's home. But I don't know why I didn't put
that together. It was a bed and there was a breakfast,
wonderful sweet people loved meeting them. Of course, you can't
go anywhere without finding people where we live. There's something

(03:08:28):
about Alabama It's like we're everywhere and we're going into
a restaurant. And in a little colonial town in Vermont
where there was a great restaurant we were going in.
Of course somebody comes out. You know how women do?
Men never do this, it would be weird.

Speaker 3 (03:08:45):
But like Sherry.

Speaker 2 (03:08:45):
Apparently had on some cute shoes. Apparently, oh I just
love your shoes. Well, thank you so much. And the
husband was with it, and I said, yeah, I love
your shirt, and he goes, we don't ever say stuff
like that, do we. So anyway, you where you got?

Speaker 6 (03:08:59):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (03:08:59):
Where you guys from?

Speaker 2 (03:09:00):
And we think we've become kind of a you know,
a novelty. Sherer says, Alabama? What part Birmingham?

Speaker 3 (03:09:07):
Are y'all going to this restaurant? Yes? Did you know
the guy that runs this restaurants from Birmingham, Alabama? We're
like what? And we going there?

Speaker 2 (03:09:14):
And the guy had listened to the Rick and Bubba
show and uh, you Virginia. Yeah, I used to live it,
used to live in Mountain Brook and yeah, got money?

Speaker 3 (03:09:22):
How about that? Well he's got a pretty nice restaurant. Well,
of course you wouldn't eat there because it wasn't cheap.
But anyway. But anyway, so.

Speaker 2 (03:09:32):
We were walking along. We were walking along twice Greg,
you were you were discussed me on the on the weekend.
We're walking along and Sherey goes, oh, what, let's see
some of these antique places are open.

Speaker 3 (03:09:42):
I knew, so I won't go an antique place.

Speaker 2 (03:09:45):
She goes, why, and I said, I said, we don't
don't ship anything back home from some antique place up.

Speaker 3 (03:09:52):
Here where the revolution was. Oh, you're running hot bed.
And I said. She goes, if you say hainted, and
I said, what you got, I'm talking to Greg. She goes.

Speaker 2 (03:10:01):
You know what they do, They grab hold come with
fact a matter of fact. Next week, when interviewed Greg
on strange encounters and talk about haints on antique furniture
paints and old mirrors. And then I said that, and
I said to you, I said, definitely, don't even go
in there.

Speaker 3 (03:10:14):
Look at mirror. She goes, will you please?

Speaker 2 (03:10:17):
She goes, don't talk to him about antiques. And I see,
he says, and they got a slight smell to him. Right,
there is a there is a strangers about him, especially
if you come from someplace where there was turbulent musty.

Speaker 1 (03:10:27):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (03:10:27):
But anyway, So I asked you this.

Speaker 5 (03:10:29):
Evidently ghost smell like mothball.

Speaker 2 (03:10:32):
Right, so, uh, legendary pharaohs gold bracelet, stole it from
popular museum who sold and melted down. Would you ever
take one of pharaohs? Now, I know it's a lot
of gold, but would you ever touch anything from a pharaoh?

Speaker 23 (03:10:50):
No?

Speaker 3 (03:10:52):
Not learning those stories, the digging off of them tombs.
I know I'm upset right now.

Speaker 2 (03:10:58):
I'm upset when one of my friends, now that I think,
pulled a beetle juice on us. Not that I'm superstitious.
I'm a little stitious, but I'm not superstitious. To quote
the great office buddy of mine that will remain unnamed,
there was a person that was out of my life
and out of our lives and out of nowhere. He
brings this person up. And I'm not kidding. I had

(03:11:21):
not heard from this person, and I don't know when.

Speaker 3 (03:11:23):
And I kid you not. Within twenty four hours they
found me. Really, And I said, you did this so
anyway to bring somebody from our past. See if it works,
don't do it.

Speaker 2 (03:11:34):
So the bracelet once belonged to Pharaoh. I can't pronounce
this name common greg you always think it's him. It
was taken from the roy Knisteration laboratory of the Egyptian
Museum in Cairo. It was and they said that they
think one of the people there inside job took it

(03:11:57):
and gave it to a silver jeweler who then sewed
it to.

Speaker 3 (03:12:01):
A gold jeweler.

Speaker 2 (03:12:03):
Uh and it looks like for what only three thousand,
seven hundred and thirty five dollars. It was then sold
to a gold foundry worker for fourenty twenty five, who
melted it down with other metals. So now they know
good night and uh so if you're wearing that got
him melting down, yeah, Pharaoh warrit yep, So there it is.

Speaker 3 (03:12:24):
I mean, I'm you know over there the Pharaoh's brace.
That ain't nothing. They're used to seeing it.

Speaker 2 (03:12:28):
But would you ever bring a pharaoh ba Brachte I'm
not bringing I'm not even driving by Cairo.

Speaker 3 (03:12:33):
Well it's like I talk about all we don't like
the way it sounds.

Speaker 2 (03:12:38):
Greg do not mention Willie Wanda but anyway, so no,
but I know, I know kind of like we make
the joke that Liam Nissa needs to watch his kids better. Yeah,
because everybody keeps kidnapping them. Sure these mummy people stop
going how many curses?

Speaker 3 (03:12:55):
Don't go in there and don't open that?

Speaker 5 (03:12:56):
Now what do we do?

Speaker 2 (03:12:57):
And we finally get this thing put back in there,
And there's always one person thinks he can do a better,
same thing on Jurassic Park. I'd forgotten. I forgot the
storyline from Jurassic Park three. It just had to be
on Cable three and I three and ill the same
thing with you. But it all started with Newman. I
skimmed by there. They've cut this island off to the world.
Nobody's supposed to go there.

Speaker 3 (03:13:19):
We ain't going back.

Speaker 2 (03:13:20):
Some guy takes his kid hang gliding, try to get
up high so they can see some dinosaurs. Well, what
do you think is going to happen? The boat gets attacked.
Neither that they'll comes in and there they are up
in the air and they have to go land back
on the island. Don't go near the island. Nobody will
look at How about this the idea? Anybody want to
go see some dinosaurs? The answer should always be no, no.

(03:13:41):
Anybody want to go on a mummy's tomb, No no, no.
Anybody want to go to an antique shop? And let's
get an old mirror.

Speaker 3 (03:13:47):
No, no like these. Hey we found a hidden door,
hidden hallway. Oh yeah, under the house, a secret room.
I ain't going They ain't going to secret room. Ew.

Speaker 5 (03:13:58):
No, little dinosaurs doesn't mean it can't.

Speaker 2 (03:14:01):
Hurt you, all right, I'll tell you that.

Speaker 3 (03:14:04):
I will tell you that bed and breakfast we went
to a little spooky Yeah, Rick, I bet if you
went in the basement or something really good. I thought
to myself, If I wake up and James Madison is
in this room reaching out to me, why have you
broke the constitution? Why have y'all not stuck to my constitution?
He is, Yeah, something like your wife's shoes. Yeah, your

(03:14:25):
wife's shoes are cute. Yeah, and she ain't bad. Heykay
im out, jel watch.

Speaker 6 (03:14:33):
Right.

Speaker 3 (03:14:34):
Thank you America. We've had a blast together with you today.
